Best Western Pineywoods Inn

Not Stay Here! It is tired, dirty & paper thin walls, traffic noise. Big mistake booking here! :( We asked for a quiet room & they stick a family of 10 beside us, brutal. Bed frames, skirts are visibly dirty. Windows are paper thin & sound pierces them as if they are open! Check our other reviews, we aren't malcontents only seasoned & reasonable travellers. BW has dropped the ball on this property folks, look elsewhere.

Very nice place to stay clean, and roomy. Close to food and Walmart. Customer service was very helpful. Place is very busy so book ahead of time if possible. Will book again in the future. Was not able to do breakfast so no comment on that.

An older motel situated just off US Highway 59. Room smelled musty when we first walked in. This cleared up over time by running the A/C. Double-queen room was spacious. Had microwave and refrigerator/freezer. Room clean. Beds comfortable. Lighting dim. Could do with higher wattage bulbs. Bathroom mostly clean with a good strong shower. The floor area would benefit from a sprinkling of bleach to remove mold embedded in the baseboard and wall fissures. Breakfast, touted by some reviewers as a significant plus, was a huge disappointment. Indeed, one of the worst we have encountered. The assigned area is small and available seats were rapidly taken. Had to stand to eat breakfast. Food offerings were limited. No meat patties, ham, or sausages. Only bland scrambled eggs and overcooked crispy bacon strips. Fruit, particularly bananas, were well past their sell time. Coffee was adequate but no threat to Starbucks. Area closed at 9.30 am. Doesn't begin to compare with the breakfast facilities and offerings at most quality establishments. In summary, this is an older motel and management does a good job in keeping it clean and presentable. But the inadequate breakfast facility renders it no more that a 3-star establishment.

The breakfast has a lot to choose from. Homemade pancakes, eggs, sausage and cereal and muffins to fruit. Plus more. The pool is always clean and they will give you as many towels as you need at the front desk. My room was clean but I always get the bottom floor room because there isn't a elevator so keep that in mind if you have a lot of bags. There is a Pizza Hut near by and they do deliver.( even to the pool) All of the staff are friendly and helpful. The lady that cooks the breakfast has been there a few years and is sooo helpful. I'm from Louisiana and my family and I go to Atlanta Texas at least once a year and this is the only place we stay.

The Hotel was easy to find, was a safe location. Well lit clean parking lot, easy check in. The room was very nice, the ceiling fan was a major plus. Breakfast was really nice, many food selections to choose from. Just an overall great Hotel.

My husband and I have stayed here several times while visiting family and it's always been great! The staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast offers biscuits and gravy, sausage, eggs, muffins, pancakes, different cereals, yogurt and toppings etc. The lady in the breakfast room is so sweet and ready to serve. The rooms have been exceptionally clean, very impressive, I definitely recommend!

We stayed in a king room with the sofa couch. The staff was kind. The rooms were always clean when we returned. They had an excellent hot breakfast. We stayed multiple nights, so it was nice that there was a different kind of hot breakfast every day.

Older motel, very clean and well kept up. Room was very quiet, very quiet A/C unit. only issue was a slow draining tub. First motel we've been in that didn't have any visible mold in the shower. Would stay here again.

One of the better BW I've stayed at! Room was clean, bed was comfortable and internet was good. I was on business but would take my family to this BW. It is also pet friendly which is one of my requirements.

The hotel was a nice surprise. Our room was large, clean and had a ceiling fan! As a Texas you appreciate ceiling fans. The color/decor of room was inviting. Very inviting lady who worked the breakfast. She will tell you about the Yogurt machine, that was a nice surpise. I enjoyed the breakfast. Another little thing I noticed, the maid carts w when I walked by, were clean and organized, it caught my attention, I was impressed. Our shower head in our room didn't work and didn't realize it until the morning you need to shower. We made do! I did report it. We will be back!

We really enjoyed our stay at this motel. The room was so clean. It looked like the bathtub and the sink area were new. The AC unit also looked new, and it was a quiet AC. The king-sized bed was comfortable. The swimming pool water was very clean. The breakfast was good, but the breakfast attendant was fabulous! I think it is under very good management! We will definitely stay here again when we return to the area.

The facility was very clean, staff very friendly and the breakfsst was very good. However, there was no elevator which made it a little challenging for me. If I would have known, I would have requested 1st floor.

We stayed for a short family visit and really enjoyed the location and benefits of the hotel. The rooms are very clean, fully functioning, breakfast is great and the staff is helpful. Highly recommended!

My stay here was great. Close to places to eat. Not far from where I needed to be the next day. Very clean. I travel to East Texas to visit family and always stay at the Best Western. It gives me a place to relax after a busy day with the family. Having a place so close to my family makes my stay less hectic.

The room was nice since we ordered a handicap room. There was lots of room in the bath, and the grab bars and elongated toilet were nice. The room could have been cleaner, and the chairs and mattress could use upgrading and updating. For $100 per night, it could have been better, but that is what you seem to get now.

The Best Western in this area is the most solid hotel in the area. I could have gone to Texarkana and stayed at the Marriott but due to the cleanliness of the room and courteous staff, I stayed in Atlanta.

Room was clean, and the decor was excellent, bed was comfortable, check in was easy, no hassle and had plenty of towels in room. Location was quiet and staff was extremely friendly. Very Good location.

I had to travel to Atlanta for a funeral and stayed at this property for two nights. Rooms were very clean and up to date on amenities. The staff were friendly and were able to easily answer any questions I had. Breakfast was modified due to COVID, but was just what I needed to meet my needs.

In a four night stay, the room was cleaned only once. The dressing table was miniscule. The lighting for the dressing table was, at best, poor. Staff was congenial but not outgoing. With other options within 30 miles, I would not recommend this option.

This was a very pleasant place to stay for a friend's 50th wedding anniversary celebration. The room was clean and the staff friendly. There could have been a little more variety on the breakfast and the towels a little better. However, a good hotel.

There is some renovation going on, but once its done, it will be nice. The room was very spacious. Love the ceiling fan in the room. House keeping comes early, so if you don't want to be disturbed, put your sign on the door. Staff was very friendly

This hotel is not bad for an older property. The breakfast is good, the rooms are decent and the bed was comfy. The one issue you should be aware of is the ceiling fan/light. It comes on and goes off as it pleases. This is really annoying at 3 am in the middle of sleeping. Other than that, this is a nice stay at a nice price. Especially for an older property in a town that doesn't have much to offer.

We have been staying at this Best Western since they opened and will continue to stay here on our return trips to the area it has changed owners only once since the beginning but the newest owners continue to operate the motel in the same excellent manner that the original owners maintained it.

We love the waffles. The food was good and hot. Beds and pillows were very comfy. The AC worked great. Had it down to 63. They were rentovating so our room had fresh paint and clean walls. The outside had also been painted.

I was not pleased with our handicap acomidations, the commode in the room was not high enough for my spouse. Breakfast was good for breakfast. It was hot and a nice variety of breakfast food. The room was clean. The front desk staff was great. The handicap shower was dingy and dirty.

The place is run down. However they are working on it . The maids started knocking on doors at 7:15 in the morning . I had requested late check out and she acted like I was crazy . Still why knock on door so early ?

Bed was super comfortable. Hotel is older and a smaller property. I arrived late, and there wasn't a large assortment of parking. Breakfast had a variety and was good. I didn't see an elevator, but didn't need one.

Bobby at the front desk was very helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was adequate but not remarkable. A little sparse for a Best Western property. Would stay again if in the area.

This was a good place to stay. Staff was friendly, and it was easy to check in and out. There was a large variety of breakfast items, and it was a hot breakfast. I just wish there had been more electrical outlets available.

We stop here every time on our way to Arkansas. It is always clean and the staff is friendly. The rooms are spacious and it is quiet. The breakfast is good with really good waffles. I would recommend this hotel to anyone going through here.

Sub standard lodging. Thypical for BW. It's usually a choice of last resort when I can't find a Hampton, Fairfield, or Holiday Inn Express. Not real clean. AC doesn't work well, odor to the room. sink drain slow.

Lovely new inn in Atlanta is conveniently located and well-equipped. The staff is helpful - one of the maids ran into the parking lot to ensure a baby's pacifier was not left behind. Changing our plans was not a problem, nor was not having a reservation.

Love staying at the Pineywoods Inn. always so clean and employees are so friendly. Always helpful. We come here every year at this time. Always the same room. Good handicap facility. Great breakfasts. A lot to choose from. The pool is so refreshing and fun. Perfect part of the holiday.

My favorite hotel in this nice quaint small town in the Piney Woods. The staff is friendly and willing to make your stay comfortable. Beds are comfortable, rooms always clean. Breakfast is outstanding. I highly recommend this hotel if you are in the area.

This is a regular best western just off the highway. It is very quiet & clean. No fitness room and pool is outside, but closed for season. The maid service is nice & friendly. We went for historical reasons.

Hotel is on an unpromising stretch of industrial looking freeway. Steep drive and gray exterior don't promise much, but the service is good and the rooms nicer than you would expect. A good place to get some sleep!

Consistently good experience here. Clean, quiet, friendly, helpful. Near restaurants and Walmart. Easy to find right on Hwy 59. Senior discount with ID---don't have to be a member of AARP or other organization. Highly recommend!

1st room, Air Conditioning not cooling very well. We were given another room. This room had bugs crawling on desk, then crawling on my arm in shower. Old cheap mattress, did not sleep well at all. Hallways were dark and creepy.

I have stayed at this establishment several times and will again in the future. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff are very helpful. Breakfast was delicious. I have always received excellent service.

First time here, front desk woman was friendly and informative. Room was clean, cool on a hot Texas night. Bedding was comfortable and the price was right. Breakfast was good, not exceptional but totally adequate for a place like this so no complaints. What more could you ask for? Would stay here again if in the area. Note: county is dry so no alcohol sold. If you want a glass of wine to relax with bring your own.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Best Western Pineywoods Inn in Atlanta, Texas. The grounds, lobby, and hotel room were so clean and tidy. The pool was so relaxing and the breakfast was excellent.

Excellent Hotel to stay in. Better call early as it fills up fast. Wonderful continental breakfast. fresh fruit and great waffles. Rooms are spacious and pool is awesome. Staff is also very friendly. Stay here every time I am in Atlanta.

Everyone associated with this motel is very caring and very friendly. Breakfast selections have a good variety. It's probably the cleanest place to stay in the area. We've stayed here before and definitely will again. In fact, we were attending a family reunion and all of the traveling attendees stayed at the Piney Woods Best Western.

The manager loaned me a Cell Phone charger. The cleaner cleaned the bath room the day we asked her too!!! They were so very nice! The breakfast was very good too! I love the apple juice!!! The eggs were super good!

Great Experience while in town to visit my parents over the Easter weekend. The location was a good experience for my family, and the kids were able to use the internet for their devices while we stayed in the hotel. The rooms were clean, and the breakfast buffet was great!

What a excellent place to stay. The staff and management made it a no regret place. The rooms were clean, quiet, and well maintained. Breakfast was good and the staff excellent. It is convenient to local restaurants and shopping.

Overall this hotel was in a nice location and was clean. The breakfast was OK but the juices were watered down way to much. The internet was not working and I reported it the first day that I was there. I had to check out early because it was still not working by Saturday which was 2 days later and I needed access to getting on line from time to time. The staff was nice but it was not an issue or did not get communicated to others that the computer needed to be fixed or something needed to be done to provide a service that was advertised.

We found this to be one of the most pleasing Best Western hotels we have stayed in recently. The entire place was clean and maintained well. Mr. Patel was gracious and helpful, and the breakfast and housekeeping people were great! We hope more people will find this little gem on their travels in East Texas.

Have stayed here many times over the years. When here back in June, was told new owner to start in July. I could tell the minute I drove up. New owner has given a major cleaning overhaul. New mattresses, bedding, carpet and more. Smells clean. Breakfast is much better too. Best hotel in Atlanta. Great for under $95/night.

Found piece of plastic in shower, other than everything was fine I would give the motel 4.5 star.their was no sausage for breakfast everything was real good, Iwould recomend this motel. dn't except dogs,but I have a service dogs and that was ok.

We just needed a one night stay after driving 12 hrs and this hotel hit the spot. clean rooms, quiet hallway and very comfortable bed. the desk clerk was very friendly but we really didn't see anyone else. breakfast was good with all the usual. will stay here again when we come through Atlanta,TX

We stayed here it was clean the clerk could have been nicer but over all best western is one of the best hotels free breakfast free Wi-Fi and it was okay for the night.if we had to we would stay here again

Nice Great location Hotel sign could be larger or closer to the road. 2 thing I didn't appreciate was No elevators. And the bedskirts lying on the floor. Needs a little adjusting. Great breakfast Friendly staff

I chose this hotel so that I could be on the south side of Texarkana. I was not sure what to expect in such a small town. I was very pleasantly surprised by the helpfulness of the desk clerk on check in. The room was clean an spacious. The best part was it had a ceiling fan. A feature I have never seen in any hotel. I sleep with a fan on every night at home so this was wonderful for me.

This seems to be an older location but is well kept. I remember the first time I stayed there was a problem with card key to enter building. The owner grabbed my luggage and hauled it to my room and opened the door for me. He then sent someone to the room with a new set of cards. I stay here every 2 weeks now and am impressed with how nice he and his wife are. Always pleasant! They remember me and check-in is quick and simple. Rooms are clean with comfortable bed and plenty of pillows. Breakfast is prepared by a nice young lady and always good.

I like to stay at this hotel when on business in this area. The staff are cheerful, friendly and helpful. They seem to anticipate my needs, whether it is quick check-in, fresh towels or a cup of hot water for tea.

everything we needed; the beautiful British lady at the reception desk was so helpful and courteous. The young lady at breakfast was very attentive. Very nice hot breakfast with anything you might want; I am gluten free and had a hearty breakfast.

Stayed here for work. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful and took care of my check-in process very quickly. my room was nice and the bed was very comfortable. My only complaint was that the internet seemed very slow.

Nice people, down to earth, nice room. This location is perfect for business in town. Easy to get into, centrally located. I am a return customer and will continue to book here for future business trips.

We stayed here for Thanksgiving while we were in town. It is a very nice hotel in a country setting. My only complaint is they were out of bottle water. Otherwise it was nice and the free breakfast was good!

We stayed two nights and many of our family members stayed one or two nights because we were there for our daughter's wedding. Everything was wonderful. The rooms were clean and it was some of the best breakfast I've ever eaten at a motel

As the title states, the evening attendant was very friendly, the room was clean and the bed was really comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was delicious, and even though it was later in the morning, the staff made another batch of fresh eggs for us. The parking was a little tough with a truck and trailer, but manageable with the few cars that were there at the time. Walmart is really easily accessible, which makes it easy if you need anything.

Hotel was very quiet. Beds were very comfortable. Room was clean. Overall a nice place to stay and the staff was friendly. Evening attendant was very adamant that no pets were allowed even though we didn't bring any animals. Parking lot, however, is not trailer friendly. No drive around, just a dead-end behind building. Was a little difficult turning around. And Athens is a dry county. BYOB

Clean, comfortable, quiet. Not much more you can ask for. Bedding was outstanding--comfortable and quite attractive. Key card access was the easiest, most care free that I have used. And on and on for a 200 character minimum.

This hotel is always clean and well run. The breakfast is par. The staff have always been friendly upon checking in and checking out. There are not a lot of hotels in the area and this one seems to be the best. I have stayed here each year for the past several years and I will return.

the hotel is small no elevator well kept owners and all employees very nice make you feel at home they treat their guest as if they were the guest breakfast needs a little help with that in mind enjoy your stay

I visit my family in this area very often, it is a great place to stay for me & my family. They are a little pricey in comparison to the other two hotels in the area, but the free breakfast & safety of the rooms being inside are an exception to the price.

I received excellent service, very clean and comfortable room and easy access in and out to parking. I appreciated hot water when needed and plenty of towels. The room I had reserved was unavailable upon arrival, but the substitute was good; the difference was the type of shower; otherwise, the service was good.. The bed was extremely comfortable.

Great place to stay. Friendly courteous staff, comfortable rooms, great amenities. First class all the way. I would recommend staying here if you are passing through the area. We arrived late in the evening and were warmly welcomed by the front desk. We had a lot of luggage and originally were booked into a second floor room but the front desk got us into a ground floor instead. That was a plus for us. We liked the location as it was close to restaurants and other places we wanted to visit.

Highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Atlanta Texas. The best hotel in this town! The owners live on the property and go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. My family and I stay at this hotel once a year, every year, for a family reunion. The staff are now like a part of our family.
