    « Great value;great room »

Fantastic full menu breakfast! Room was clean and had all anemia's needed for stay. Fridge, micro, hair dryer, clean comfortable beds. Great value. Pool was under repair, but staff was excellent. They really has everything you want on breakfast buffet. Scrambled eggs, make your own waffles, lots of different fruits, cereals, biscuits and gravy, sausage, bacon, oatmeal, yogurts, and more. Recommend to all.

« Over night stay on way to Knoxville »

This BW was outstanding in every way. Convenient just off interstate and close to friends we were meeting for dinner. Service at front desk was fast and helpful. Room was large and comfortable and clean. Breakfast was a good start to our trip through the mountains to Knoxville for granddaughter's graduation..

« Great Employees Made Our Stay »

Cheerful, efficient, pleasant and very helpful (local knowledge, directions) employees made this stay enjoyable. Location has easy access to highways, numerous restaurants (within 1 mile), car wash and downtown. Great for traveling people.

    2
    « Stinky »

Subpar hotel at an inflated price. The room smelled like mold and was outdated. Pillows tiny, bed uncomfortable. We did not enjoy our stay a d suggest paying .ore for somewhere better. While the people were nice... it is not worth your comfort.

    5
    « Great location »

We enjoyed staying at this BW, it was located close to all the places we were wanting to go, so it made travel much easier. The staff was friendly and we enjoyed every aspect of this hotel. We would definitely stay here again.

    « vaca »

My boyfriend and I spent 5 nights at this Best Western while touring beautiful Asheville, local sights and other nearby cities. The room was comfortable and clean and we considered it our sanctuary while out of town. It was a convenient location to all we planned doing while away. We would recommend it.

    « BW Asheville »

Good value. Staff was great and location worked well for us. Front desk girl was very good with helping us with recommendations etc around town. They were sealing the driveway when we arrived but it was completed by the time we needed to access room.

    « Asheville 2018 »

    « Biltmore Trip »

We stayed at the Best Western on Tunnel Road after our trip to the Biltmore. This was our 2nd stay at this motel. The property is very neat and tidy. Very well kept. The staff is amazing. Very helpful with info of the surrounding area. Breakfast was very nice. Biscuits, gravy, eggs, bacon, sausage, fried potatoes, waffles, cereal, fresh fruit and coffee and juices. I would definitely recommend staying at this Best Western!!! We will be back soon.

    « Biltmore Trip »

We stayed at the Best Western on Tunnel Road after our day at Biltmore. The jaccuzi tub was a huge welcome after all the walking and cold, drizzly rain. The room was very spacious, we checked in online so when we got there it was ID, CC card and done. The breakfast was more than sufficient and served from a very clean area. Lobby was clean and spacious with lots of seating. The little extras like swan-folded towels and fanned tissues are always a nice touch and makes you feel like the person who cleaned our room took pride in his/her job. We would definitely stay there again if we return to the area.

« Reasonably priced motel near the Biltmore »

Stayed here during a visit to the Biltmore. Property is pet friendly, and located within five minutes of a great grocery store, and within 10 minutes to the Biltmore entrance. Only glitch was at checkin, when we were assigned a room on the second floor (outside access), and the stairway was cautioned taped off. We went back to the desk, as untagged yellow caution tag barricades are not to be crossed. We were reassigned to a first floor room, which was much better for our pet, who is nine, and has a hard time seeing. Breakfast was good, and check-out easy. This is a no frills property, but is clean, and nicely located. Oh yes, a nice mall is located very close as well.

    5
    « Asheville Awesomeness »

Great location, good value, COMFY beds and good breakfast!! Definitely Will stay at this location again!!! They were quick to accommodate us last minute and the next morning I noted the hotel was sold out.

    3
    « Not sectacular but t »

Staff was pleasant and the room was clean. All rooms are exterior entry and the outside noise carry's into the rooms with ease so it was very noisy. The beds were older and not real comfortable and squeaky. Lighting in the rooms appeared to be updated but it was inadequate. Cost of the stay 324$ two nights no it was not worth it.

    5
    « great experience »

Room was updated, well-maintained, and very clean. Nice, helpful staff. Excellent continental breakfast with lots of healthy choices. Convenient location. Quiet room at the back of the hotel. Would definitely stay there again!

« Good Value for Money »

We stayed at the Best Western in early April 2018 and were overall very pleased. We didn't have towels when we first checked in but notified the front desk and they were delivered to our room while we were out for dinner. We were only there one night so we didn't use the TV or the WiFi. It's a motel and we stayed on the first floor and were able to park right outside our door which was nice. The front desk staff were friendly and the breakfast was very good. I would stay here again.

    4
« Great for Families with Pets »

Me and my family only stayed for one night, but we were happy to have found this hotel. It was close to everything Asheville had to offer. The rooms were very clean and well stocked. I was surprised by the dog-walk area this location had to offer, despite the crammed view from the roadside. It was very spacious, and even provided waste bags, which most "pet-friendly" hotels fail to do. We will definitely keep this place in mind for next time.

    2
    « Pit stop »

Hotel more like a pit stop for construction workers in the area. Building be erected right next store which hotel housed many workers. Their trucks took up a lot of space and they were noising in the morning. Breakfast was not the best. Cold eggs and no hot water after hours if you wanted to make tea. Rooms ok but housekeeping always seemed to leave my used coffee cups, empty bottles and coffee maker dirty.

    4
« Family visit to Blue Ridge Parkway »

Enjoyed our stay at Best Western. Staff was very professional and accommodating because we arrived early and wanted an early check in. We stayed on the first floor and enjoyed a peaceful nights sleep. Will definitely be back in the very near future!

    4
    « Decent clean motel »

Obviously if you are staying here you are not expecting a fancy hotel, this place is clean and the staff is friendly and professional. The down side was the noisiness from the road and kids running around. Also, there is a light on the best western sign that pints back toward the one set of rooms. This light burdens with the brightness of a thousand suns! Making sure your blinds are closed with no cracking showing through otherwise this retina burning mini sun will keep you up all night!

« Family Member in Hospital »

If you're sharing a room with family members or friends, these rooms are perfect! Beds were queen size, good for sharing. Also, the sink is separate from the toilet/shower part of the bathroom, so that you can wash your face if someone else is showering----nothing worse then waiting! All appliances worked & everything was clean. Will definitely stay here again :)

    4
    « Typical BW »

We stopped in for one night while passing thru Asheville. Typical BW hotel - clean, quiet, and comfortable. Good location. Easy access to downtown and the Biltmore. Okay breakfast. We would stay here again.

    4
« Great find for a weekend away »

We planned a family visit for weekend to the Biltmore Estate. The hotel was nearby and offered just what we needed-a clean, updated room. We all enjoyed the hot, buffet breakfast-plenty to choose from!

    4
    « Family Vacay »

The hotel was very clean and breakfast was hot and fresh. Kids loved the waffles! The only negative i had was the bed. Very uncomfortable mattress and not a good sleep. But my experience with this hotel was a great on. Easy check in and out.

    4
« Comfortable, clean room. Good Value »

This property is more of a motel, than hotel. 4 buildings and you can park close to your room. We had an end room, which was nice because only had guests on one side of us. Very spacious room. Pool is outdoors only and not open yet (early April). Breakfast buffet was decent with lots of options. Conveniently located just outside downtown Asheville, 15 minutes from Black Mountain (lots of fun shops, galleries and restaurants).

    5
« Great place to stay in Asheville »

This hotel is both close to downtown Asheville and to Biltmore. The staff was friendly and offered excellent dining recommendations as well as providing great directions. Will definitely stay here when we make a return visit to Biltmore.

    3
    « Decent motel. »

This motel was average. Decent rooms, but nothing fancy. However, their breakfast was above par and offered a good selection of foods. Overall it was a decent place to stay, but I feel it was a little pricey for what it was.

    4
    « Clean and relaxing. »

Checked in due to extreme stress and needed quiet time to relax. I had checked in to a previous hotel but then changed my mind for specific reasons and switched to this hotel in the same afternoon. Very lovely facility.

    5
« Very nice and clean »

I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the room and that it was as upgraded as it was. I was also impressed with the variety that was offered for breakfast. I would definitely recommend this place and I would definitely stay there again!

    4
« Best value in Asheville »

No noisy downtown. Great staff. Nice breakfast. Just a short Uber ride for those enjoying downtown Asheville. Better than noisy downtown facilities. Hotel has been updated twice since I began using it. Easy access to I-40 and I-240.

  • 4
    « Pretty average and that's ok! »

We stayed here for 2 nights during the summer. It's an older hotel so it doesn't appear bright and shiny and brand new. But our room was clean and comfortable. The front desk staff was friendly. There was nothing that exceeded my expectations, but nothing bad either. Its just a standard, average hotel that gives you a comfortable place to sleep. No complaints from me.

    5
« Great Stay at Best Western Asheville Tunnel Road »

We were checked-in in a friendly and professional manner by Courtney and Maddy for our two night stay. They gave us some restaurant coupons to use that evening for our dinner, and directions to get there and also to the local Walmart so we could replenish some personal items we needed. The motel is easy to locate and not too far from the historic and bustling downtown area. It is also close to America's castle, the Biltmore. We have toured this "home" in the past and it is great from the house itself to the gardens and winery. We enjoyed a good nights sleep and a great breakfast the next 2 mornings being taken care or by Esmarelda and Sonia, two of the nicest "breakfast ladies". We recommend this hotel to anyone looking to visit a fun place not too far off the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway.

    4
    « location »

Room clean and modernized. Refrigerator and microwave available in room Friendly courteous staff. Large area for breakfast. Best of all great location for our visit to Biltmore Estates. Also well located for local restaurants and bars.

    4
    « A good value »

This was a good, clean place for our family to stay as we were driving through going to Myrtle Beach. The breakfast was free and pretty good! The shower had good pressure and we felt safe. For the price, you can't go wrong! There is no indoor pool, though. That made a difference to the kids.

    4
    « Very Clean & Peaceful »

We drove from Savannah Georgia here and were quite tired and just wanted to have an early dinner and rest. The hotel looks quite new and is in a nice area close to restaurants and a large supermarket nearby. Will definitely stay here again.

    5
« Very clean and nice »

The room was more updated than I expected. It was very clean from the front desk, the outside, to the room. Very nice stay and will stay here on any future trips. Breakfast was awesome. Quick and convenient to downtown.

    5
« Perfect for our needs »

This Best Western offered nice accommodations, quiet, friendly staff, plenty of breakfast options. Our only complaint was that the bathroom fan in room 139 was loud. Still recommend and we would stay again.

    5
    « Pleasant stay in a convenient »

The hotel was clean and the employees are very nice and helpful. The hotel is a quick drive to downtown (3-5 mins). There is free breakfast and plenty of parking. This hotel is a great hotel for travelers looking to save money and not regret it.

    4
    « Very surprised »

This best western was great. Exceptionally clean, staff was very hospitable and newly remodeled. For the location and price it was a pleasant surprise to find tucked outside of Weaverville and Asheville.

    5
    « Great location!! »

We stayed at the Best Western on Tunnel Road in Asheville, NC recently when going to check out the UNC Asheville campus. I highly recommend this hotel. Rooms are clean and comfortable with very comfortable beds. It is located near everything.

    « True hospitality and service ! »

Best Western Asheville is a completely renovated property. Rooms and grounds are kept clean and the upkeep is impeccable. Beds are new and comfy. Ample parking and well-lit at night for safety. Continental breakfast (6am to 10am) with hot entrees and many selections to choose from........ But you can grab a coffee anytime....... Business work station in lobby with computer and printer.......... Front desk staff, the hospitality is the best in the biz: Friendly, helpful and professional...... they go beyond the call of duty. House-keeping and maintenance have a sense of urgency and assist wearing a smile ! The location is convenient to downtown and within a 10 minutes drive to anywhere in Asheville proper. To Veterans: the VA Hospital Facility is 1.9 miles on Tunnel Road. (same road as this hotel)..... Most important, for light sleepers (as myself), this place is QUIET.

« Review of stay at Best Western Asheville Tunnel Road »

I recently stayed at the Best Western on Tunnel Road in Asheville,NC. My experience was wonderful. The room was very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. All of the accommodations were superb for the location and price. I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel. The staff was very helpful and they serve a delicious breakfast.

    4
« We had a king with jetted tub »

We enjoyed the jetted tub. The room was clean. Continental breakfast is good with gravy, biscuits, eggs, waffles, bacon and sausage. We will stay here again. It is quiet and easy access to parking near your room. My only issue is I asked the clerk if they had filtered water. She was not willing to cut on machine since it was not breakfast and told me to buy their water for $2

    5
« Clean and conveniently located! »

Clean, well kept and quiet. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is nice with multiple choices and great coffee! Hotel is close to restaurants, mall and short drive to downtown Asheville. Also close to Blue Ridge Parkway, Folk Art Center, Nature Center and all that Asheville has to offer! Price varies as all hotels based on when you go but always better than downtown prices. I stayed at the "Downtown Inn" which is in a great location downtown but horrible and I will never stay there again! I can always count on Best Western to provide consistent great service and it is my go to hotel in Asheville!

    5
« Biltmore is a seven minute drive, »

My wife and I had a great time in the Asheville area, lots of wine tasting and micro brews to try. This Best Westren was very clean, quite, and the location is convevient. We stayed three nights 01/05/18 thru 01/07/18, The breakfast was good. Employees were very nice.

« BW Tunnel Rd Asheville, NC »

We had a great experience on Jan. 6, 2018. I would highly recommend this hotel. It is in a very convenient location with various restaurants close by for dining. The breakfast at the hotel was really good. Biscuits, gravy, waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage along with the usual dry cereals and fresh fruit. It was wells stocked and served at the correct temperature.

    4
    « Great Hotel »

Love coming to Asheville for vacation and staying here. Rooms look great and check-in was great. Only issue I had was the bed was a bit rough. Still, it may just be me who has this issue and to everyone else the beds may seem great. This is definitely not a deal breaker and I will definitely be coming back again.

    4
    « Comfortable »

Very nice BW near the city of Asheville in a very "hilly" area. Easy to get to the city, clean, good breakfast. The only down side was that our cell phone reception was non exsistant because of the mtns.

    3
« Good for those touring Biltmore on a budget. »

We were looking for a place to sleep, shower and eat breakfast while we toured Biltmore. Location is excellent for this. Breakfast was disappointing and mattress and pillows left us with sore backs and shoulders in the morning Uncharacteristic of Best Westerns I've stayed at before. Shower was excellent. Bathroom spotless. Amenitites in good working order. Take a second floor room if you can. Upstairs guests were noisy on this stay.

    4
« Good spot for exploring the area »

We picked this property based on the TripAdvisor reviews and were not disappointed. Its location outside the downtown area was much more affordable. The community is relatively small, so it's no problem to get downtown and to other local attractions. The property is an older, exterior corridor style design, but it has been modernized and is very comfortable. We enjoyed the daily breakfast bar. Our room was on the back side of the property, and was quiet. It was nice to be able to park right outside our door. No complaints!

  • 5
« Nice place to stay »

We were going to Biltmore Estate and needed a dog friendly hotel nearby. The best western was reasonably priced for our stay and wasn't to far from Biltmore. The only thing that was a disappointment was the parking, it is a hotel with outside doors and not a lot of parking when they are busy, I had to park my larger truck on the grass at the end of the building. But everything else was fine, the room was clean and the breakfast area was nice.

    5
« Great Value and totally new renovation »

This motel was a great value for an Asheville Hotel/Motel, The place has been recently renovated. The grounds, lobby, and room were very clean and well maintained. The staff was freindly and professional. The breakfast bar was better than average for most motels now days, It was clean, well organized, and was freshly stocked

    5
    « Clean and comfortable »

I hadn't stayed at a Best Western in years and was pleasantly surprised. The rooms were nicely renovated, the bathrooms were very clean, and the breakfast had a nice variety of hot and cold food. I would not hesitate to stay there again at all.

    5
« Excdellent accommodates at reasonable rates »

Staff is friendly, efficient and accommodating. Rooms are comfortable, beds are very comfortable. Easy location to commute to/from business in Asheville. Rates are far below a downtown hotel. Updated and modern, kept clean and tidy at all times. New rooms being added. Definitely should consider if going to Asheville and you don't want to spend a fortune on the hotel.

    5
    « Great place »

Reasonably priced, clean and safe area. Pet friendly and great areas to walk them and feel safe. Room was very clean. Very close to everything you want to go to in Asheville. Very nice staff and pretty good breakfast.

    5
« quick trip to Asheville »

We were pleasantly surprised to find this gem of a hotel! We decided 1 week prior to check out a school in the area. Everything about this Best Western was perfect, from the staff, accommodations, and location! We will definitely be back, Asheville is a great city. No need to search for any other hotels!

Great location and area! Was close to Asheville biltmore and a mall. Was reasonably priced clean the staff was great free breakfast. Would definitely stay again if visiting the area! Beds were comfortable rooms clean and staff were very friendly and helpful let us check in early!

    5
    « Nice Comfortable Stay »

Good value for an Asheville Motel. Very Clean rooms with good shower and in room fridge. Breakfast buffet was above average for a BW with eggs and bacon, and a Greek Yogurt option. Will definitely stay again!

    5
« Very clean and comfortable room »

We called for reservations at the last minute and were able to get a room. When we arrived, we requested a first floor room, which was given to us without any problem! The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. And it is just a short distance from the Biltmore, which we toured the next day.

    3
« One night stay - surprised me »

On a family trip and BW is not my hotel of choice. This place really surprised me. Very clean, comfortable beds and the room was quite large. We didn't feel cramped at all. Breakfast was very basic, but adequate.

    « Highly recommend »

Close to work, restaurants, shopping. On main road. Staff courteous and knowledgeable. During heavy snow but they maintained the parking area. Decor updated. Breakfast was excellent; on time and great variety.

    « CLEAN GREAT STAY »

We were in town for the VA Hospital visit. Very close to the hospital and great clean hotel! The good was great in the morning too! The rooms were updated and extremely comfy beds. The staff were friendly and super helpful. You are only minutes away from a great mall for shopping too. Easy access on and off 240 as well.

« Nice hotel great location »

This hotel is near the Biltmore Estate. It is a great location for those visiting the Biltmore or Downtown. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. The breakfast was one of the best I have had a a bestwestern

    4
    « Vacation »

Taking a sabbatical with my wife and pets for 3-6 months to travel the country, with no planned itenerary. Time will tell where we'll end up and the goal is to enjoy every minute we of this adventure. With the end game being finding a city that suits all our needs for retirement.

    3
    « Average hotel »

Location was right off the exit which made getting around Asheville pretty easy. Average room, toiletries etc. would I stay again, probably. Breakfast was the usual, cereals, eggs, sausage and bagels. They could've had a seat or something in the bathroom to put items on. Bed were comfortable, I didn't like the pillows. A change in plans caused us to leave a day early. They were very understanding and accommodating.

    4
« Very good because breakfast was fantastic but other than that average »

it is clean and the staff is kind and friendly, but they can't help with specific problems. They don't seem to be empowered to fix the problem only apologize for it. Breakfast was awesome! The best breakfast in any hotel with a free breakfast we have ever had!

    5
« Best Breakfast and Great Beds »

James at the front desk was awesome. Quick, informative and great customer service. The breakfast was one of the Best from a Best Western, we have ever had. Hot oatmeal, cold yogurt, fresh fruit, good coffee. Very clean rooms and strong showers and decent WiFi!

    4
    « Nice Quiet stay »

This is a terrific bargain and a nice, quiet place to stay. We were headed to the Biltmore estate for just a day , having traveled up from North Myrtle Beach . Found this place through our Best Western Rewards site and couldn't resist the bargain. Despite all the cars in the lot it was very quiet. Breakfast was average. The best part is it's only 10-12 minutes from the Biltmore estate gate with real easy on offs for I-240 & 40. We will definitely stay here again in the spring when the tulp ips and azaleas are abloom !

    4
    « Good location »

Very easily accessible to mall, downtown Asheville, restaurants and Biltmore. Clean room. Good breakfast. Nice staff. The rooms weren't fancy but they were clean and comfy beds too. Had all the main ammenities.

    5
    « Great visit »

Tunnel Road Best Western is a great stay experience. Hotel is centrally located in Asheville, near the city center and shopping. The staff is fantastic and knowledgeable. High speed internet was very good. As well, AM Breakfast is wonderful.

« One night in Asheville »

We pass through Asheville about once a year on our way elsewhere. We like staying on Tunnel Road because the lodgings are dependable, reasonably priced and close to downtown. The Best Western has gotten to be our choice for Asheville. They've got comfortable beds, nice sized refrigerators with freezers big enough to refreeze the ice packs for the cooler, decent breakfast and generally a nice feeling to the stay.

    5
« Huge Rooms, Clean, Comfortable »

Great hotel, very clean, great room, great bed. Jetted tub was a win for sure and great hot breakfast. Have nothing but good things to say and we would stay here again and again. Very reasonable rate too. Bang for the buck!

    5
« Slept great! Great breakfast too!! »

We slept great!! The breakfast was wonderful! The room was clean and very neat and nicely decorated. We enjoyed our stay and will stay there again when we are back in Asheville. We visit a couple of times a year.

    5
« Friendly staff, very clean, great breakfast »

For the price we were very impressed with our stay at the BW on Tunnel Rd. in Asheville. Staff were kind they offered us some free ammenities. We forgot our tooth brushes. We will return here. They really care about their customers and it shows.

    5
    « A fine stay »

For an older building the renovations and cleanliness of the hotel were very good. Comfy beds, clean bathrooms, all the same amenities as a new hotel and a lovely set up for breakfast. Without the cost of a downtown hotel that is only a few minutes away.

    5
« Clean and great location! »

We stayed at this hotel with our pets during Thanksgiving week. The rooms are spacious and clean. The complimentary breakfast has a wide variety of options including make your own waffles. We stayed here because it is close to many areas around Asheville and it is pet friendly. If you are looking for an economical great place to stay- then this is the place for you.

    5
« Good value and location »

The room was clean and appeared recently updated. The breakfast bar was very good with a wide variety of food choices. The service from the staff was excellent. Would stay again if back in Ashville, NC

    5
« Great value, very clean and comfortable »

This hotel is very accessible to downtown and all areas in and around Asheville for a much better price than actual downtown. Friendly staff, very good choices for breakfast. The rooms were spacious (two queen beds), bathrooms clean and updated.

    4
    « Nice clean hotel »

Great to have breakfast available. Room was clean and well equipped. Staff were helpful with dinner suggestions. The back part of the hotel was quieter and away from the road. Would stay here again.Make sure you are aware of where this place is prior to driving around in busy traffic trying to find it.

    3
« high price but it was seasonal »

very good breakfast. make sure you ask for the first floor as there aren't any elevators. Decor was okay, nothing impressive but the rooms did have microwaves and fridges and coffee makers. There was a nice pet area in the back for ones dog.

« Away from downtown, but, not too far »

This motel was clean, comfortable, affordable, and in a location that was close enough to downtown Asheville to make it convenient. Free parking and good breakfast. It is also close to the Blue Ridge Parkway and other natural activities.

    « Great stay »

I? love to give hotel reviews because it matters to me when I? am looking at a place to stay. Our room, 115 was very clean, updated and spacious. I? would recommend and use again. Fast check in and out. Ok breakfast, normal food. I? just don't like motel type because you hear cars. But it will not stop me from staying here again. I? am VERY picky with hotels and this one was great. We actually got to use a free night from rewards, made it even better.

    5
    « Very Clean »

I? want to say this is one of the best Best Western Hotels we have stayed It was very clean. Staff was very nice and informative. Continental Breakfast was good. I? would recommend this hotel to anyone in the Asheville area. Two miles from down town. Four miles from the Biltmore House. We Use Uber to go downtown for $7. You can't go wrong.

    « Asheville Stay »

We had to stay an extra day due to my wife becoming ill. It was no problem to extend our stay. Great care and the people cleaning left a note about our Do Not Disturb sign on the door and told us if we needed anything to contact the front office. Being ill, it worked out so well and the quietness of the place was great.

« Close to downtown Ashevill and stores »

Typically I would not choose a Best Western or a motel that you accessed from outside of the building but I have no issues with this Best Western. It was clean and roomy. There was a fridge and a microwave in the room and we used both. Eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy were included in the breakfast. Close by is a Walmart, TJ Maxx and DSW shoes. What else could a girl ask for. It was also close to downtown and the Biltmore Estate. I would consider using this hotel again.

    5
« Great Hotel, extremely clean with excellent service! »

I highly recommend this hotel! We will definitely stay here again when we return to Asheville. It is conveniently located and, even though I have always preferred a hotel without outside entry to the rooms, this hotel was so clean that I didn't mind.

    1
    « Nasty beds »

Both beds were covered in hairs of different colors from previous tenants when covers were pulled back proviing that sheets had NOT been changed but only remade. Not only is this a disgusting practice, but also embarrassing to the hotel considering what they charge for a room in this barely remodeled dump!

    « Incredible Price/Immaculate room »

Incredible price for an immaculate room. Absolutely Recommend! I was very impressed when I walked into my room. It must have been recently renovated and was impeccably clean. I had stayed at a Best Western in Va the night before and was very impressed too. I thought I'd try another hoping for the best. Maybe they've all been updated?! Best Western is a wonderful find - a beautiful clean spacious room & bath at a bargain price. Thank you Best Western!

« Nothing fancy but comfortable for an overnight stop. »

We traveled from Pigeon Forge to tour to tour the Biltmore Mansion and drove to Linville to Grandfather Mountain. It was a long day and a long drive back to Pigeon Forge to our weekly accommodations so we stayed at the Best Western. Our room was clean but the carpets could have been cleaner. I am not a fan of carpeting anyway. We had a warm greeting and check in was quick. We were given a couple of options to eat dinner close by which was helpful. We had a quiet rest and no complaints. Overall it was a satisfactory over night stay and easy to find.

    « Great Stay »

My mom (77) has always dreamed of visiting the Biltmore. Best Western Asheville Tunnel Road worked out perfectly. We were a short drive away, so we got to go to the Biltmore 2 days instead of just one. Convenient, clean and comfortable.

« Favorite of Six on Tunnel Road »

Comfy Bed. Clean. Nice breakfast set-up, friendly staff. Only problem was it is hard to turn in to. Near everything. Good location. Will stay there again if ever go back to Asheville. Good price on weeknights.

    « Average Best Western »

We had a comfortable stay at this Best Western. The breakfasts were also just average and we had a problem one day when we returned to our room at about 3PM to find that it had not been cleaned. To be fair, when I was asked what they could do to help, and, I responded clean the room, the young lady who took the call showed up a few moments later, ready and willing to clean the room. The beds were very comfortable as was the room in general.

    5
« Even better than before!! »

We had a great room right in front close to the office for their really great breakfast!! Not your ordinary continental breakfast. They had eggs and sausage and biscuits with gravy in addition to regular cold breakfast items. The room was spacious and clean. Great beds and pillows. Situated quite close to the mall and other great shopping. Movie theater a couple miles away. Close to everything. Great place to stay in asheville

    5
« Clean, convenient and very helpful »

This was the first visit to the BW Asheville and I have to say that it met all my expectations. It was easy to locate, ample parking, very clean and tidy frontage and stepping into the lobby I was met by two very friendly and smiling staff. They provided us with great local knowledge for our short break and suggested best methods of getting around. The room was a great size, light, well furnished with a lovely armcharir and stool and very clean with everything in it that you could need for an overnight. The breakfast was superb with lots of options for cooked, pastries, breads etc, you certainly won't leave hungry and with checking out was as simple as checking in we were off to a perfect start of our trip.

    4
    « Clean but a little dated »

The rooms have been remodeled and they did a pretty good job. Over all, it's a nice place to stay and they are pet friendly. It reminded me of a "motel" with all entrances on the outside and there were 4 buildings. The furthest of the buildings is not convenient to the main lobby for the breakfast service. We actually had to drive and park the car closer to the main lobby to have breakfast. Hot and cold food was good for an included breakfast. It was a quiet place for being located on a major highway. Very convenient to the Biltmore and Downtown.

    « October Get Away 2017 »

We made reservations for a 1 night stay to drive to Asheville and the surrounding area to see the colors but unfortunately, the leaves did not cooperate but the overnight stay at Best Western was great. Very clean and relaxing rooms and the breakfast was fabulous. The location was close to everything that we wanted to do. Highly recommend.

    4
« a bit pricey but worth the visit »

there was no need the room was perfect only stayed one night I wish I could have stayed another night but price of room would not work in my budget I have stayed at other properties in other states your's were the most pricey

    « Good Accommodation »

We had very few problems during our stay. In the first room that we were given, the refrigerator was not working. But the staff quickly gave us a different room and even offered to help us move our things. Good breakfast every morning.

    5
    « Awesome birthday trip! »

We visited for a friend's birthday. The hotel was very clean and conveniently located. Definitely worth saving on the nightly stay instead of splurging on a downtown hotel. Not within walking distance to downtown, but used Uber and only took minutes to get anywhere we wanted. Our room was a nice size with a desk/couch area. Great amenities... mini fridge and a microwave. Bonus IHOP in the adjacent parking lot if you aren't feeling the continental breakfast. Would recommend this hotel and visit again!

« We've found our hotel of choice in Asheville »

We have a son at university in Asheville and tried several different hotels. This was by far our favorite. Easy check-in and out. Friendly trained staff. The had GF and DF options at the breakfast bar. Large room with two QUEEN beds, great bedding with a comforter, large shower. What more do you need? Oh yes, it was also quiet.

    3
    « OK »

Well, certainly not the best, but not the worst. As was mentioned in other reviews, this place is terribly dated and run-down. Breakfast was not great. I felt like, even after making sure everything was closed up tight, we weren't super-secure. Location is OK. We originally had booked only one night (Thursday), but when we needed to add on Friday night as well, it more than DOUBLED our rate (I know weekend rates are higher, but this was pretty outrageous for a 60s-style motel). We needed to do this, so we did, but I can tell you we would not stay there again.

    3
« Best Western Tunnel Road, Asheville, NC. »

Hotel needs to be updated. The bed was okay but the air conditioner was super loud. Good location, but I believe we can find a nicer room at a better price. The area is rather dumpy looking. Definitely over priced. Breakfast is nothing to rave about.

    5
« Surprised at how great »

We spent two nights while on business in October 2017. Great location to get to downtown Asheville and all around the city. Perfect check-in and service. Beds were VERY comfortable. Pet-friendly was a great bonus. Good offering at breakfast with friendly service. Excellent. We'll stay there again next trip.

    5
    « Great location »

Nice clean room and great location to get to all attractions. There is shopping and supermarkets near by. Breakfast options had great variety for everyone. Parking was plentiful. It was too bad the pool was closed for the season because we were planning to use it.

    5
« Very comfortable and clean and a great value »

The breakfast was very good with a good selection of cold and hot food. The staff was very friendly, courteous and efficient. The location was good and near several restaurants. The rooms were good especially for the price and were nice and quiet.

    5
    « Great stay »

This is a great hotel. The rooms are clean, comfortable and attractive. I believe that everything has been recently updated. The location is excellent, near the downtown attractions and the major highways.

    3
« Ok but not the best »

Basic facility ok but room was older and not up to our expectations. Smelled of mold or carpet cleaned and not properly dried. Seemed a little crunchy. Breakfast was more than adequate and lobby was nice.

    5
    « Quick Trip »

I needed a one night stay to visit my child at UNC-A. It was a good value for the money. The room was clean. I had stayed here 2 years ago and it has been upgraded and is very nice. I would definitely stay again.

  • 3
    « ONLY OK »

Location was excellent for driving around the area...not good for walking. Our attitude was very likely affected by the fact that our room wasn't cleaned after we had been gone for the day and the response we received from the desk when we complained was lukewarm at best. Otherwise, I would say this is a good quality Best Western. Request a room some distance from the ice machine.....it is consistently noisy.

    5
    « Quality and Convience »

I have stayed at this Best Western many times over the past several years. Each experience has been very pleasurable. The staff is always friendly and efficient. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The wi fi worked well. I always enjoy my stay here.

    « Asheville/ Black Mountain »

We stayed one night at Best Western Asheville at Tunnel Road. Our English Springer Spaniel was traveling with us and he was welcome at this facility!! Big bonus for them. The front check-in staff were warm and welcoming. Our room was excellent, clean and fresh and the bed was a dream. The facility had an area for doggie business and supplies to boot. Breakfast was excellent with many choices for the guests. We did leave hungry! Every employee we saw greeted us and asked if we needed anything. We will stay at this location again if when we travel that way.

« Good place to be central to hoping on the road. Minutes from Ashville , downtown »

Two story, hotel with parking in front of your room. We had a king room and it was spacious but bathroom was a lil crammed. motel was clean and bed was comfortable all rooms open to outside So bring a jacket if your cold natured. parking lots a little tight and when you come off the Interstate, baaam there it is ! little hard to take a left outta of. not much in walking distance. Pet Friendly but not much room for them so leash um

    « Comfortable and Clean »

I had transferred from one very bad hotel, to this one, and was uncertain if there were going to be any rooms (this happened at midnight). I walk in and the lady at front desk was super nice. I was able to get a room. The room was 2 queen beds (just me staying in room). One of the beds had a nickle size yellow stain, to which I complained about in the morning at check out and knew they would take care of it. The room, overall, was super clean and very comfortable. I will stay here again!

    4
    « Good value choice »

I had a single night stay at this clean and simple hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. The cost of the hotel was significantly below others in the area and provided a good option for a place to sleep for the night. I believe breakfast is included but I did not take advantage of that offer so no comment on the breakfast.

    4
    « Overnight Stay »

The room seemed overpriced however that was the only down side. Upon entering the room, it smelled pleasant and everything was very clean. The beds were very comfortable however the pillows were seemed cheap and were not very plush. This hotel offers a great breakfast that is included in the stay.

    5
    « very nice stay »

Convenient to almost everything in Asheville this large Best Western was a comfortable stay. No elevators which could be difficult . Nice staff and comfortable bed. Breakfast is typical and well supplied. Make sure you go to the Folk Art center on the Parkway.

« Our vacation coincided with Hurricane IRMA »

We were there the 2 days IRMA was going thru. Monday we went to Maggie Vally to Wheels Thru Time. Monday night into Tuesday morning the brunt of the storm came thru be we didn't know until in the morning when we found the parking lot covers with small limbs and lots of leaves. We didn't hear a thing all night. The TV was out and so was the WiFi in the morning. We tried to go to Mount Mitchell but the roads were closed with down trees. So was the Blue Ridge Parkway. Ate at 2 excellent restaurants.

    5
    « Good Value »

This hotel exceeded expectations. Very professional staff and a great location only minutes from downtown Asheville. Very scenic mountain landscape and a great warm breakfast. Bed could have been more comfortable, but bathroom and room were very clean.

    « Great location »

Hotel is clean, well maintained, and convenient to downtown Asheville. Hotel is pet friendly, staff are courteous and professional. Directly off the highway making easy access to local attractions. Variety of breakfast items with convenient time frames for breakfast.

    « Best Breakfast »

We checked in for two nights. The first night was just fine. Breakfast the next morning was more than I have ever seen as far as condiments and add ons. They had blueberries, strawberries, cheese and just different things. However, we did get up with no internet or TV on the second morning. Was certainly not the fault of the hotel as remnants from Irma went thru the area. TV and WIFI was out all the second day and second nite and third morning. I do hope they did get it back. Stoplights were also out up the street. But other than that I would get this a 10 all the way around. I'm just sorry when I did their survey, I wasn't able to convey it before I hit enter. I'm just glad they hotel had electricity....

    « Family Visit »

    « Escaping Irma »

The rooms were very clean and comfortable. I found them a little musty and wished there was a window to open....we just left the door open. Wish I had bought a bathing suit...pool heated and beautiful. Very convenient to Asheville. Great hit breakfast, safe and fridge in the room. Wonderful staff.... It is economy lodging but more than worth the price per night.

    « Decent hotel »

Stayed here over Thanksgiving break in 2 connecting rooms with 7 people. Rooms were well appointed with all of the necessary basic amenities. We were right up front facing the street but never heard any traffic noice. Breakfast was great for the kids, lots of choices. Have nothing negative to say about this place and would stay again and recommend without hesitation for a low cost stay.

    5
« Great Location! Great Breakfast! »

We stayed here last weekend and we had a great time. The staff was so friendly. The location was just 2 miles from downtown. Room was very clean. We would stay here again! We saw a lot of people bringing their dogs which was great!

    « BW Asheville »

BW is our go-to hotel when we do not stay at B & B's when we travel. We always find BW's to be consistent in service and quality and room cost is usually reasonable. Our next BW stay will be in Seattle's Pioneer Square.

« Great location and above average motel »

If you want a good rate, and are looking to spend 2 or 3 days visiting the Biltmore Estate, this is a great place to stay. By far this was the top Best Western motel we have stayed. Short trip down into Biltmore Village using Swannanoa River Road, which was a pleasant drive to the Estate. Not many good restaurants nearby, but many fast food places. The best restaurants are in downtown Asheville, and you will need to hop back on the interstate to get there in a short time.

    « The right choice »

When I was planning our trip to the Biltmore, I had to make sure I chose the right hotel or motel. I researched and looked into every affordable good place for 2 weeks. My husband and I just don't stay any place. Finally I picked BW. This was my first stay at any BW. My husband and I were really pleased with our stay. The room was excellent, and staff were gentle and kind. I really enjoyed that the room key worked great. At some hotels it takes 5 and 6 tries to get into your room. We got into our room and building very quickly each time. The pool was very nice as well. The only complaint was that my husband said he thought there was some kind of hair on his face after waking but that could have been anything. He was just waking up and probably not seeing straight or it could have been hair. The breakfast was good and filling. I would definitely recommend a stay at this wonderful place.

    5
« Best Western Asheville, NC »

This is a nice location. The room was quite comfortable and the staff is very nice. My only problem with the room location is that it is on the second floor at the end of the run and there is no staircase at this end of the building. Otherwise, it was a good stay.

    4
    « PAID TO MUCH »

Paid $299.00 for one night. Room was nice and clean but small. If you paid !/2 or less for this holel of what I paid, go for it. It was full the night I paid $299.00 but on my way back home I stayed at another BW 45 mile away and thay said they had room that night for at the most $129.99.

    5
    « Best Western Biltmore »

The staff was very accommodating with room location. Even though located on a main road the room was very quiet. The breakfast was more than adequate and the area was VERY clean. The pool looked inviting but we did not have time to take advantage of it.

    « Overall good hotel. »

Good value overall. Bed wasn't uncomfortable, but wasn't very comfortable either. Staff was friendly and helpful. Typical hotel breakfast. I wish these chain hotels would start serving real eggs. That's all I guess.

« Good motel in Asheville »

We were very satisfied with this motel which was located immediately off a highway. It was very, very clean. The staff was gracious and helplful. The breakfast was excellent. There was a nice swimming pool. Very good value for the money.

« Desk help comes thru. »

Showed up evening after eclipse and wanted to use points for free room. Desk person told me I couldn't because there were too many other guests using points that evening . Sorry but that's not my problem. Then he told me I had to book thru BW while they told me I have to do at hotel. Attendant told me nothing he could do. We went to the room(all rooms in town booked or we would have left) which smelled a little like smoke and we wanted smoke free which I believe whole facility is . Then the phone rang. It was Maddie from the front desk. She heard what was going on and took the initiative and solved our points problem and got us free room that we were entitled to. THANKS MADDIE.

    « Great Place »

Very nice and clean. Friendly staff. Clean rooms. This wss my 2nd time staying at this location in past 2 months. Love the gazebo outside to relax. Quiet setting. Will be staying again in the near future it is a stop for us on our way to ECU, to see our daughter.

« Breakfast better than most »

Our room was good, nice size, good bed and tv, big bathroom. Everything was clean and worked well. The breakfast was much better then the typical BW breakfast, and in a very nice large eating area. We had a very clean quiet room.

« BW on Tunnel Road, Asheville »

Staff were good. Breakfast was great. A lot of choices. Nice location. However, it probably was an old motor inn. Rooms are big enough, but needs updating. The front staff told us that it is ready for renovation and upgrade. I understand it will be expensive, but it would be nice if a new building will be built.

    5
    « Excellent choice »

We chose this hotel due to it's location and great value. Check in was friendly and efficient. Our room was large, clean and the beds were very comfortable. The room had a microwave and fridge. Breakast was superb. Food was hot, great choice and plentiful. The pool was great to pop in after a long day exploring.

« Next time we will stay at Baymont Inn »

We normally stay at Baymont Inn when we go to Asheville, but my sister stayed here and really liked it so although it was more a night we decided to try it. We won't stay here again. We will go back to Baymont Inn. We live in the country and are not used to the noise of traffic. When we stay at Baymont Inn we are further off the road and do not hear the traffic. The pool was great and the breaksfast was good as well. However, we did not sleep well at all due to the noise-- we were in room 200. Next time we will stay at Baymont Inn.

« Quick trip to Asheville »

My husband and I are frequent users of BW hotels and did not look at other locations. While this BW is out of the downtown area a bit, we used ride sharing and it cost less than $10 and the drivers were VERY prompt. The price was right, the rooms are updated, there is a pool, and breakfast. It was 'just right!'

    5
    « Great Asheville hotel »

This Best Western was in a great location with easy access to the Biltmore House. The staff was friendly & our room was spacious & clean. Breakfast was great! We would definitely stay here again & I have already recommended it to a friend who is thinking of coming to Asheville in the Fall.

The breakfast selection was incredible! Possibly one of the best we have experienced anywhere. The room was neat and clean. Would stay at this location during a subsequent visit. Good access to the interstate as well as downtown.

« Nice evening in Asheville »

Hotel was very nice, can't really complain other than it could be a little more updated. (the carpet seemed very old and was a little damp) Location was great there were many places to eat near by. For a one night stay it was perfect within minutes of the Blue Ridge Parkway!

    5
« Anniversary trip to the mountains »

Friendly staff. Breakfast was basic but had sufficient options (better than 80% of hotels I've stayed), housekeeping was efficient but respectful . All on all, o would stay here again if I am in the area

    3
    « One night »

Overpriced on short notice, as were all Asheville hotels. Pretty much the norm for a 2 star hotel. Breakfast was over crowded, people everywhere. Convenient location to both downtown and the Blue Ridge Parkway (I think this might be the closest exit to Asheville from the BLP.) Pet fee though is $20 A NIGHT!

    4
    « Close to Biltmore »

This Best Western was older.....frayed carpets in rooms, etc. Price was right for closeness to Biltmore Estate. Found that breakfast was one of the more lacking ones for the Best Western we have stayed in this summer . Broken juice machines. cold eggs, lack of welcoming attitude at front desk, etc.

    « Vacation »

We were in ashville for a week for vacation, hotel is at a great location, very clean and comfortable bed. Awesome breakfast lots of choices, pool very nice, pet friendly even though i didn't bring my dog. Housekeeping does an excellent job! Will definitely stay here again!!

« Really enjoyable stay. Great breakfast »

Rooms were very clean and updated. The breakfast was great! Not the usual fare of continental breakfast but eggs, sausage, waffles and more. Staff were friendly and efficient. There is a pool. Word of warning.. Just as you come down the ramp onto Tunnel road, slow down as the driveway sneaks up on you quickly.

    « Good value »

Great location and good value. Clean rooms, adequate parking, friendly staff. Breakfast was average. Dining area was large and roomy. I think this property has been here a long time but it has obviously been updated. It is close to the highway but we didn't notice any road noise and we were only 2 rooms away.

    5
    « Great value! »

I was a little wary about staying at this hotel because of the outside rooms, but I felt safe the entire time. The interior of the rooms had obviously been remodeled very well. The staff was super helpful and nice. We arrived early before our stay to purchase some Biltmore tickets, and they told us our room was ready if we wanted to check-in (it was 12:30). The bed was comfy and the pillows were really soft. The shower was tiled up to the ceiling. The only drawback for us is that there was no gym.

    5
    « Well done, staff »

You guys provided me, my wife, and my dog with an amazing experience. We thought that the facilities, the pool, and the room were super clean. The staff was very friendly as well, and the breakfast was delicious!

We stayed for a few days in late July. Our spacious room had a safe, mini-fridge, microwave and coffee maker, and firm beds. The room was kept spotlessly clean. The included breakfast had bacon, eggs, sausage, fruit, yogurt and more. Staff members were friendly and helpful. Great location - 10 minute drive from downtown. Would be happy to stay here again!

    « Excellent stay! »

One of the main reasons I chose this hotel was because it is pet friendly and the reviews. I was kind of reluctant due to a bad experience I've had at another Best Western, but I decided to give it a chance. I am so glad I did! We only stayed for one night to break up the travel between Cincinnati and Myrtle Beach. I called and spoke to a friendly woman and booked my stay that way, just to make sure there were no catches or crazy fine print terms with bringing our dog. The rate was the same as all the other travel sites I had seen, and our 30lb Beagle mix was only $20/night. The hotel was situated close enough to the highway to where it wasn't out of the way, but it was quiet. We passed through downtown on the way, it's probably only a 5 minute drive away. The hotel staff was very friendly upon check in. The hotel is set up motel style with outside entrances to the rooms. Some previous reviews stated that it looked rough on the outside, but it looked fine to me. The room smelled and looked very clean upon entering. We checked for any signs of bugs and didn't see any. We had a standard room with 2 double beds, it was about average in size, with a nice new flat screen LG television. There was complimentary water in the room with mints which was awesome! The bathroom was extremely clean also, but I did seem to notice when I was in the shower my arm touched the ceiling and I'm only about 5'4''. I'm thinking when they remodeled they probably did one of those bath fitter things and put a new tub over the old one or something. The hotel had a large grassy wooded area for walking pets, and when I took her out after dark, the whole area was very well lit which was super awesome! I browsed the breakfast area and there was hot sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, oatmeal, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal make your own waffles and juice. The whole breakfast area was packed with guests, but there was no shortage of food. Being able to park right outside your room is also convenient. The beds were comfy and there were no issues with the wifi. Overall, had a great stay and will definitely stay again if we are in the area! As a matter of fact, I plan on signing up for the Best Western Rewards program now.

    « Visit to Asheville's Biltmore »

We stayed for 1 night in Asheville to see Chimney Rock and the Biltmore Estate. This hotel was centrally located and only a few minutes from downtown Asheville and the Biltmore. The hotel was clean, staff was friendly, and the breakfast had a wide variety of foods. Great stay overall.

    « Excellent service »

The room was clean and the bed was nice and comfortable. Breakfast was very good. The staff was friendly and helpful. We try to stay at Best Western hotel whenever we travel because we can expect very good service all the time.

    « Close to town »

This is your typical Best Western. Rooms have been recently updated except for the carpet which was filthy. They need to deep clean these or put in new carpet. Also, the air conditioning unit was extremely loud. Not exactly a peaceful sleep. At least you couldn't hear the people in the room next door . This hotel is just outside of town.

« Nice hotel. Close to everything. »

Myself and three teenage sons stayed here for three nights. The room was clean and spacious. Housekeeping truly did a really good job each day. Breakfast was buffet style with everything we could ask for; bagels, pastries, eggs, meats, waffles, cereal, etc. The pool was great. It had plenty of seating around it and the pool itself was large and deep enough for the kids to have fun. This hotel is only a few minutes from downtown Asheville, so it's convenient to everything we were looking for. We would definitely stay here again.

    « Getaway »

Pleasantly surprised by this facility. Close to everything we needed. Rooms were nice and quiet and very spacious and comfortable. Pool water was very cold so swimming didnt get to happen for the adults but the kids enjoyed it nonetheless.

    « Love North Carolina »

The hotel is a good place to stay - the staff are nice and courteous and never had a problem checking in and out. I would recommend this hotel to anybody who wants to visit North Carolina. You get a very nice room for a great value

    « Location, room size & no non-sense »

Staying at this location for over 20-years say it all. The current owners have made many wonderful improvements. It is a perfect fit for all my business needs. Centrally located. Close but comfortably away from the congestion on the rest of Tunnel Rd. >JBL

« Stay a BW to attend a wedding at Asheville Country Club »

Excellent stay to attend a wedding for family member. Also had dinner at the East Village Grill at 1177 Tunnel Road. Food was great and service was outstanding. Special thanks to our waitress "Jessica".

« Love the Place, Location, and Staff »

It's nice to check in to a hotel and everyone makes you feel at home. From the front desk staff, to housekeeping, to breakfast attendants, and to the owner everyone makes you feel welcomed at the BW Tunnel Road. I absolutely enjoyed my stay, and look forward to coming back. I didn't use much of the amenities BUT good wifi is a must for me on business travel, and this hotel's was excellent! Thanks BW staff and see you again when I'm back in the area. Highly recommend the rooms in the main building if available!

    « Clean and comfortable »

We stayed at this Best Western on June 10, 2017. It's set up motel style, with the doors to the room all outside. The exterior looked okay, but completely misleading. The room was great. It was clean, and the beds were comfortable. The lobby was very inviting as well, and the breakfast they held there was delicious. Eggs, bacon, make your own waffles, among many other things. The people at the front desk were very nice and helpful, giving us suggestions on places to eat and things to do. My children also enjoyed the outdoor swimming pool.

Excellent, Very friendly staff. Fast and effective customer service. I would definely recommend this hotel for business or leisure services. The agents are very knowledgeable, fast, and friendly. I highly recommend this hotel.

« Best Stay at Best Western »

The room that we had was small but very comfortable and very clean. It had a safe, refrigerator and micro wave. This was an excellent choice as we were going to the Biltmore Estate and this hotel was located with a short drive to the Estate. The breakfast was very good and the staff treated us very well.

    4
    « good value »

The price was right. The hotel was clean. The interior of the guest rooms was much nicer looking than the exterior. The staff was wonderful. It is a ride downtown but the downtown hotels had much higher prices.Breakfast had a decent selection -usual BW fare.

    « Wonderful! »

Very clean place to stay. Staff was helpful and awesome. I would stay there again and I recommend it to anyone interested in staying in Asheville, NC. Beautiful landscape and a very peaceful place to stay.

« Affordable, Great stay, close to Downtown »

Pro: Nice clean rooms. And very close to downtown. Less than 2 miles from downtown and very easy to get to. Plenty of affordable public parking downtown, so worth the drive. Room was clean. Bed was comfortable. Would stay here again! Con (minor stuff): Bring your own toiletries. Continental breakfast was subpar.

    5
« Extremely clean, good price and very accomodating »

This is probably the cleanest hotel room I've ever seen! Beds were comfortable and the room was large. Very reasonable price and close to downtown. They allowed us to check in early and check out late.

    « pest western »

The rooms were and awful. Stained bedspreads and marked up sheets. Huge gap in door so that. Bugs could crawl in. Smokers standing outside their rooms smoking near non smoking rooms. It was gross. The staff were friendly but not eager to rectify the problems or offer a decent discount.

    5
    « Great Hotel »

Stayed here for a sisters trip. Was very satisfied with the friendliness of the staff, cleanliness of the rooms, comfort of the beds, and the breakfast was awesome. One of the best breakfasts I have every had at any hotel.

    5
    « Good location »

Close to Biltmore Estate, Asheville Mall, Blue Ridge Parkway, downtown. Helpful, courteous staff -- no problem with very late check-in. Comfortable bed in recently remodeled room, sizable breakfast room

    5
« Shocked, to be honest, at how nice »

We recently visited Asheville for 3 nights and stayed at (2) great B&B's, but honestly, I'd put this hotel right up there with those. It's obvious it's been remodeled recently, but our room looked brand-new. Very clean with a tiled shower and very comfortable beds. Breakfast was very good, too. Very close to the Biltmore, was which also a plus. Staff was also very nice.

    4
« Good value and not a bad location »

I'd like to be a little out of the mainstream of traffic when I stay in a resort town like Asheville. This is an easy in and out location; not too close to all the hustle and bustle, but not that far either. The pool looked nice but I did not take advantage of it. I think the breakfast looked pretty good but all I got was a bagel. Staff was helpful, coffee was good.

    5
« this is the only place we will stay when in asheville. we have stayed here several times. »

our room was recently remodeled and very nice and clean. breakfast room was very clean with plently of room for all guest and breakfast items that i had was very good.front desk was very helpful with local directions. great place to stay.

    « Two night stay »

Very friendly staff, very clean room and a very nice breakfast. We stayed here in June 2017 for two nights. Not noisy at night and close to many places to visit.. Only a few minutes from down town and Biltmore Estates..

    4
« Located Fairly Close to Downtown »

We found that the hotel was a short Uber ride away from downtown. Breakfast was fine, and the check-in and check-out processes were good. As a loyalty points member, however, nothing special was offered, and express check-out wasn't offered either. The room was clean, and that was most important.

    5
« We always stay here when we visit Asheville »

We have stayed here six or so times, sometimes for four nights. We have always found the rooms comfortable and clean. Our last stay showed that he rooms had been updated with tiled bathroom. The staff has always been helpful and friendly. The breakfast is bountiful and ready early. The wifi is fast. The pool can be a treat.

« End of Trail at Ashville BEST WESTERN »

Stayed at the Ashville, NC Best Western for two nights while driving Blue Ridge Trail. Very close to exit from that parkway. Clean rooms, a bit of a struggle to get to the confuse floor with suitcases. Good breakfast. Accessible to downtown Ashville (about 5-8 minutes in car). Worth the stay.

  • 4
« Through the Blue Ridge Trail to Ashville »

Took an extended vacation after a business meeting in National Harbor, Md. then traveled the Blue ridge mountains to Ashville for a visit. Peaks of Otter written up in a city newspaper several months ago, made reservation and was happy with the selection. Calm, quite, right off of the trail. Restaurant at lodge. Worth the stay.

    5
« Nice place to stay »

Everything was great. The breakfast was very good. Rooms were clean. The staff was very friendly. We had 2 double beds in our room. Beds were comfortable. Would stay there again if through that part of the country.

    5
« Great Value for the Price »

The room was clean and comfortable and the property was well maintained. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast offerings were above average for a hotel of this sort. If I have occasion to stay in the area again, I would have no hesitation about staying here.

    4
« Reasonable price for the basics »

This motel provides the basics -- a clean room, a pool, breakfast. It has 2 floors with no elevator to get to the second. If you need a ground floor, be sure to request this when you make your reservation. We stayed on the back side of the first building facing away from the highway -- so no traffic noise.Breakfast has all of the typical offerings - eggs, meat, waffles, cereal, etc. It saved us money since we didn't need to eat out. There was only one ice machine and that was in the second building - so had to climb stairs to get ice. Not so good for older folks like me.

    1
« Walls of cardboard and smelly cushions »

We were glad to leave this hotel. We could hear the sound of the TV of the neighbour's through our walls in room 208. Unfortunately, they decided to watch their telly until midnight. After that they tried to smash their door several times. That, combined with a couple of cushions that really stink made our night not one to remember. Our fridge did not work. A pity, we stayed here four years ago, then everything worked out fine. Breakfast certainly has improved, and the bathroom is renovated -- our positive notes on this hotel.

    5
    « Our fave hotel »

Best Western on Tunnel is our go-to. We've been coming for years. It's always been clean and updated, best value for the area, and pet friendly! Such a quick little drive into downtown and lots of conveniences and parks super close.

    3
    « noisy »

Noisy, especially if you face Tunnel road. Gap under that allow light, noise and weather to intrude. AC broke and instead of give us another room they kept saying that it would be fixed, but it took four hours, about the time we were getting ready for bed. Did I mention how noisy it was? There is new construction next door so there is a jack hammer going early in the morning, so forget about sitting by the pool. Did I forget to mention the noise?

    5
    « Enjoyable stay »

Everything was excellent except for the refrigarator that wasn't working. Overall the rooms were clean. No elevator. Good location. Staff were very friendly. Very less items in breakfast if you are a vegetarian

    4
« Best Western Asheville Tunnel Road »

Well appointed, very accommodating staff and decent breakfast buffet. The motel is conveniently located from the major tourist and business areas, and can be reached by highways as well as city streets.

    4
« Bring enough clean clothes »

The Best Western in Asheville is conveniently located to downtown, a straight two mile drive on Tunnel Road. The housekeeping staff is excellent as the room was spotless. The breakfasts were the same boring food found at any other chain motel. The major downside is no laundry facilities. We had to waste a couple of hours sitting in a laundromat at the next exist on the interstate. I don't understand how a hotel with 95 rooms cannot provide laundry facilities for guests. For the most part the staff during our four night stay was friendly, although a couple of people at the front desk were polite, but indifferent.

  • 2
    « Housekeeping Staff Problems »

I guess you cannot expect honest housekeeping staff. They kept my Paul Mitchell flat iron I accidentally left behind. When I called the hotel about it, I was basically ignored. We normally do not leave things behind, but since I did, I called to ask to have my items shipped. After 5 calls, I have given up. I will not be staying at Best Western in the future.

    4
« comfortable and convenient outside of town »

The staff was very friendly and professional. Our stay was smooth and comfortable even with the light that was fixed while we were out for the day. We spent time in the Blue Ridge Mountains and Biltmore as well as downtown so we were fine with being outside the city. The free parking was a benefit. We also appreciated the actually cold fridge for our delicious southern french leftovers.

    5
    « Nice stay »

We were in town for a few days for a wedding. The place was nice and clean, probably recently updated. Everyone was very friendly from the check-in clerk to the maids. The room smelled of bleach when we first came in, so it must have recently been cleaned. There was always plenty of ice in the machine. The breakfast was excellent and items were promptly refilled and the counters cleaned. Considering it was on a main road, it was relatively quiet except for the dumpster emptying at 6 am, one morning, which woke up the whole hotel area. I found that the parking places were very narrow, we drove an SUV and people parked very close to us and we feared that our car would be damaged by the doors opening. I loved the fact that we could park by our room since we had a handicapped person with us. I called weeks before especially to make sure that we had a first floor room, which I was happy to see my request was given. It was close to many nice restaurants, the city, shopping and the Biltmore Estate.

    « NIce stay »

What a pleasant surprise! This hotel has outside corridors, but the rooms are soundproofed. We had a bad experience with a BW hotel in Savannah with outdoor corridors and were concerned. This hotel was quiet, well maintained, and very affordable. We had a corner unit on the outside of the building. Our room clean, and the bed comfortable. The breakfast was fresh, although it would be nice if there was variety from day to day. They even set out breakfast bags for those that needed to leave early. I would definitely recommend this hotel to those traveling to the Asheville area.

    3
« Best Western Noisy Motel »

Walls were thin. Noisy neighbors kept us awake. People yelling outside the room were worse. Room was clean and comfortable. Odd bathroom door opened into the sink area causing you to have to move out of the way for someone to use the bathroom.

    5
« Great location and price »

This was our second stay at this location. Rooms are clean and updated. Location is great (quick 7 minute Uber or car ride to downtown) convenient to all areas of Asheville. Great price for the area. Very nice stay.

    4
« Clean rooms and pleasant deco »

The inside was better than the outside. Rooms were clean and colorful. Staff was helpful. Hot Breakfast in morning was more than amply and kept clean. Outside of motel wasn't inviting as it looked dated but the rooms were nice.

    « Love it!!!!! »

My stay at this Best Western was great. The location is about 10 minutes away from downtown Asheville. Very convenient and super easy to get to. The room was a very clean. Love the bed, it was very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and every staff member that I encounter was very friendly. If you have any questions or issues the front desk is the place to go they are very understanding and are willing to help. Thanks again!!!

    « Great Location »

The motel is in a perfect location to the Biltmore, restaurants and areas of interest. Courtney was a great help at the front desk. After traveling for 4 months, she was the first guest relations person who knew where the motel was located, areas of interest and helpful hints! Price was right however it does double on weekends. Motel was noisy on the weekend bus load of college students came in -but they had fun!

    5
    « Great stay »

Friendly, and easy check in. Great breakfast, clean and comfortable room, with microwave and refrigerator. Easy to get to. Close to restaurants and shopping and Biltmore Estate and downtown. Will make this a return to place.

    « Great value »

The price was amazing for this lovely property. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Just a short distance to beautiful nature area where we could stretch our car legs. Next visit to this area will include a stay here.

    4
    « Clean, good value »

My daily allowance for a hotel is $70. That can be a challenge but this BW delivered. Comfortable and clean room. As you get older you appreciate parking in front of your hotel door! Staff was friendly. Parking a little tight but no problems. Plenty of food choices and only 10 mins from downtown.

    1
    « Keep on driving »

Noisy, dirty but very friendly. You can hear every car and truck on the highway. It's the same place it was when my grandparents stayed there in the 50's, but dirtier. Buy new doors, and clean it up. I can not imagine best western keeping this under their brand!!!

    4
    « Overnight visit »

Was nice and clean but an old hotel. Staff is friendly. Good for 1 night. Wasn't that impressed with breakfast. Outside of Downtown and convenient to everything. Quite surrounding nestled in the mountains.

    4
« Clean and breakfast was good »

Bathroom was clean, breakfast was good, with gravy biscuits, waffles, eggs and bacon. Juice and cereal, oatmeal, sweet rolls. Bed was pretty comfortable, The room was a little noisy with traffic outside. Check-in was easy

    5
    « What a pleasant surprise »

Stayed here one night when visiting Asheville. Booked it on trip advisor after seeing it had good reviews and prices were good. Super clean, very nice room with comfortable beds, and 4 large pillows to a bed! The breakfast was excellent with a lot of choices, not just your run of the mill continental breakfast. We were very impressed.

    5
    « Jacuzzi King Room »

When we travel we usually don't like to spend more than 75.00 a night, but we really wanted to be close to our destination and have the Jacuzzi tub. From check in to breakfast the whole experience was great! The room just 146.89 including taxes.. I'd we come back through Ashville again, we will stay here again.

    « Comfort and Quality! »

Would recommend this Best Western highly. Rooms are large, clean and bed comfortable. The extras of fridge and microwaves in the room make it even better. Employees are friendly and helpful. Breakfast room is lovely and breakfast bar well stocked. Near to all of the interesting spots in down town Asheville. The convenience is most welcome whether just staying a night or a few days of touring a amazing city.

Great location to many attractions. A short drive to Biltmore, downtown, Blueridge Parkway, and arboretum. Breakfast spread was extensive. Rooms are clean and must of been recently updated. I would recommend thus location, a good value for the cost.

« Excellent for business trip »

Everything was excellent. Rooms were great and breakfast was yummy!! Staff was friendly and the rooms were clean. The hotel was easy to access from the interstate. This made it easy to move around in Asheville. Also, it was located very close to the downtown area without being in the busy part.

    5
« Very nice motel not far from downtown »

We chose this motel because it would accept our pet dog. We were impressed: nice room, everything worked fine including the microwave/fridge. One of the best complimentary breakfasts I've had in a motel.

    4
    « Clean and Convenient »

We only stayed one night. The place was totally packed for a weekday and off season. The room was clean, the breakfast was hot and had a great selection for everyone. The location is convenient to the highway and lots of food options.

« Trip to Asheville, NC »

Always enjoy staying here because of the friendly and caring staff that work here, Rooms are nice and well kept. Breakfast bar is well stocked and food is great and convenient for travelers wanting to eat and get on their way. The quality and price you get staying here is excellent for the area. I will be a return customer.

    4
« Nice stay, good breakfast. »

Rooms nice and clean. Breakfast was good with eggs and sausage along with the typical motel breakfast foods. The place needs a bit of updating, but nothing to complain about. A little noisy unless we kept the fan going, but they were full, and it was typical motel noise. We would definitely return.

    5
« Overnight stay for Biltmore visit »

Traveling home from family visit in South Carolina decided to stop for night. Friendly staff, nice location. Rooms are just right, clean and easy access. The area has plenty of places to eat and a very large mall. Lobby was excellent and breakfast was great. I would recommend this Best Western to anyone stopping in the area.

    5
« Great place, very clean »

This is a nice hotel. Very clean and comfortable and at a great price! We stayed for 4 nights recently and the staff was very friendly. I was very pleased with my room and will definitely stay here again.

« Best Western Asheville in Fall »

This was a very nice motel with good amenities. It was clean and well taken care of. It was located near several restaurants and not far from the city center. The location was close to the Biltmore, and the motel staff provided us with concise directions. Since we were vacationing along the Blue Ridge Parkway, the motel was conveniently located off one of the exits. Note that at the height of the Fall season, prices on the weekends are fairly high.

    5
« Good Room, GREAT Breakfast »

This was a two night getaway trip for two "senior" sisters. The location was great with easy access to the major roads. Best of all was the breakfast offering with just about anything a person could want in the way of breakfast food. It had a full time attendant and everything was hot/cold as required and any spills were quickly cleaned up. It was good value for the money.

    5
« great place, great location »

This is a very nice place, clean, friendly, and close to all the good stuff: asheville, smokey mountains, fishing, etc. The room was clean; bed was super comfy. It's a 10 minute (max) drive to downtown asheville for some good food, drinks, breweries. And it's about a 30-60 minute drive to some of the best trout waters the southeast has to offer. I caught a bunch of big browns, brooks, rainbows. Check out "The Social" - not in downtown Ash, but a cute little pub (dive bar) with great beer, good burger, some of the best fries I've ever eaten, and live music on the weekends. I will be back!

  • 5
    « nice place »

nice affordable place nestled right in the smokey mountains. great staff, clean property very close to downtown asheville I would receommend this to anyone trying to hang in asheville or hike or ride (motorcycle) around the mountains.

    « Great Find »

We travel most of the time without an exact itinerary. We arrived in Asheville about 3:00 PM without a hotel. Downtown hotels were priced out of our range. A valet at one of the downtown hotels suggested the motel his parents used when they were in town. This motel is just a few minutes from downtown and worked extremely well for us. It is priced modestly and was clean, in excellent condition, the staff was excellent and the complimentary breakfast was great. If you are looking for an excellent motel at a very affordable price, this is it.

    5
    « Good Location »

We have stayed at this hotel a few times because it is very clean, updated and has a wonderful breakfast area with lots of room to eat and lots of choices of breakfast food and drinks. It is only 10 minutes from Biltmore Estate which is very convenient.

    4
    « Great Time »

We were in town for a few days and went with this hotel for the value and location. Checking in was easy and the room was very clean. It was always cleaned with fresh towels when we arrived back from our day trips. The only 2 issues I had with the property was the room seemed to be more humid than usual. Also, the parking lot was kind of confusing. Other than that, everything was great.

    5
« Best places to stay »

I can say that this hotel is one of the best places to stay in Asheville. Very convenient location, close to Blue ridge parkway entrance, lots of restaurants. Hotel is maintained very clean and breakfast is very good. I recommend staying at this place.

    5
    « Convenient Location »

Good breakfast with several choices, room is updated, quiet, clean, has comfortable bed and pillows, convenient location to restaurants and highways nearby, Blue Ridge Parkway entrance is about one mile.

« Very Clean and Close to Most . »

Not the fanciest or the newest but is very clean with a good location . The hotel is right off 240 and is easy to find with or without a GPS . The front desk staff was very friendly and the lobby offers a fairly nice breakfast . Beds are comfy and we had a widescreen TV with nice channel selections . They are also pet friendly . The one complaint with this style hotel is it can be a little noisy but not enough to ruin a nights sleep .

    « A huge disappointment »

We have booked the Best Western Asheville Tunnel Road hotel long before our arrival therefore we allow ourselves to arrive relatively late at 10:00 pm. We immediately received the room key and start to unload all our baggage and carry them up the stairs to the second floor. After a short while we have noticed that the fire detection system was making loud sound every minute or two that will not let us sleep. I complained at the front desk and received a key to another room which has a terrible smell of burned plastic. Since it was the last available room, the girl at the front desk said that she will try to change the batteries of fire detection system in the first room. At 11:30 pm after all the efforts to solve the problem were unsuccessful we left the motel to another hotel. We traveled 20 minutes to Canton, NC were we stayed at the Quality Inn West of Asheville, which is a better hotel at a better price. We were traveling for 16 days and stayed in the different hotels brands. From all the various hotels we have stayed we were repeatedly disappointed from the Best Western which in most cases provide at a higher price a hotel of equivalent level or lower of its competitors. Along the years we stayed at many Best Western hotels and considered them to be better than others at this level. Unfortunately, this has changed and I will consider twice before booking again hotel from this brand.

    « Very pleased »

Nice hotel, good price, clean and comfortable, great for overnight stay. Staff was very courteous and friendly, room was well appointed and everything in working order. Breakfast was very good and wifi worked great.

    5
    « Pet friendly! »

Wonderful surprise! Sometimes when you find an "aged" property that is pet friendly it is run down and not care for. NOT THE CASE HERE! It has been maintained and all efforts have been made to keep these very spacious rooms up to date, clean, and give you everything you need. There was always staff around on the grounds, cleaning staff, and at the office. Friendly, and hard working. Rooms were super clean!

« Good location, comfortable stay »

We were in Asheville for a meeting so we didn't spend lots of time at the hotel. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and while the location was not in downtown Asheville, it was close enough to provide convenient access. Be aware that the physical set up is like an older motel: all rooms are accessed from the outdoors, and look out over the parking lot.

    4
« Nice night sleep and good included breakfast. »

I was headed out of town and wanted just a quick and easy-access room on the ground floor. I was lucky enough to snag one, with parking in front. The hotel is an older hotel, but the rooms have been remodeled with nice white linens and comforter and a nice size room. Good room for the price. It rained when I was checking in, so having the car in front of the room was great. Lobby is welcoming, staff is very pleasant and included breakfast is warm or cold depending on your tastes. Had one issue, and ended up having the general manager call me while I was heading out of town. Very nice. The hotel is moderate price, and pleasant.

Good basic hotel with free breakfast. Location about 4 minutes outside center of city. Close to attractions and right off highway...very convenient. On last night of our 3 night stay, saw 2 bear cubs and mother bear crossing street right at hotel entrance...

« Quiet location. Large rooms. »

Other than a slippery tub bottom and slippery floors in the bathroom area (we carry tub mats with us!), this is a nice place to stay. We asked for a room with few steps from the car and no stairs and they made that happen. The breakfast room is nicely decorated and the food is excellent. The front desk is helpful and directed us to a restaurant close by that was great (Cornerstone Restaurant - reviewed elsewhere).

« Great place in Asheville »

I would definitely recommend staying here when traveling through Asheville. Rooms very spacious and clean. Pet friendly. Staff very friendly and helpful. Convenient to the tourist locations around Asheville and just a few minutes from downtown and some excellent restaurants. The breakfast was a full hot breakfast, not just yogurt and pastries.

    « Great Stopover! »

Stopped by this Best Western on our way to Nashville. Can't say enough nice things about this hotel. The breakfast was great, the staff could not have been more accommodating. The price was extremely reasonable compared to some of the other Asheville hotels we checked. Perhaps the best amenity was the bed as it was so comfortable. A good choice

« Great Location at a Great Price »

Our stay was enjoyable. We booked a king room and were pleasantly surprised with a king suite. The location is convenient to visit the Biltmore Estate. The front desk us gave us a great dinner recommendation, which did not disappoint. Book early for better rates! I'd definitely stay here again.

« Pretty Nice for the Price »

This motel sits right on the side of a busy highway. It has several two-story buildings on the property. There are no elevators, only exterior stairs, and the rooms open onto a common walkway. I suggest if you have mobility problems ask for a ground floor room. Our room was in the building closest to the highway, on the 2nd floor. Some highway noise does get through, but it was quieter than I expected. If we stay again I would ask for a room in the back building, however, and on the first floor. The staff was helpful; one young woman at the front desk even offered to help us take our things up the stairs when we were dismayed about the lack of elevator (we don't travel light!) and she did come help us. That was very kind (and we did tip her.) The room we were in was well renovated, however the bathroom door and door frame seemed to be the original set and had a lot of painted-over damage. The bathroom door would not shut without a lot of force (and loud noise) and then was hard to open. The bathroom itself, apart from the door, was nicely done. We appreciated the good-size mini fridge, microwave, and safe. HBO was a nice amenity. A/C unit worked well and quietly. Nice charging ports for devices and phones. The free breakfast was okay, just the usual stuff so it could be better. We would stay again if we visit Asheville on a budget as we did this time.

« Day in the Mountains »

This Best Western was truly a surprise! The accommodations were absolutely fabulous. The room was very spacious and clean. The hotel was very near to the Biltmore House, restaurants, and shopping. A great place to stay in Asheville!

« This isn't the place for you, if you need Internet service. »

Clean, but no elevator to second floor rooms, and the stairs are exterior and of questionable repair. VERY POOR to NONEXISTENT Internet connection. Staff tries, but they can't fix what they can't fix. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was definitely on the high end of the "normal" for this type of service.

« Great Hotel, great price »

Very nice hotel. Prices in October are higher than August and September. Front desk staff are helpful and friendly. Plan to stay again in January 2017. Breakfast area was fine. Need to have English muffins and greek yogurt. Room was spacious and quite comfortable for us.

    « Perfect Location ! »

Very clean and comfortable . We were located close to the Biltmore and downtown . The desk help was very informative and recommended the perfect BBQ restaurant . Breakfast was wonderful, especially the biscuits and sausage gravy. Plenty of selection of breakfast items !

« Perfect last minute hotel! »

Came for the weekend for a last minute getaway. The hotel is small but is not dumpy! Sweet staff, the room was really clean and smelled good. The bed was ultra comfy. Would definitely stay here again for a last minute booking.

« Perfect Place to stay in Asheville »

Perfect place to stay...Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. Had a choice of pretty much everything you would want for breakfast. Staff was very nice. So close to everything in Asheville!

    5
« Great Stay...would do again, and recommend »

For such a tourist area..the price was very reasonable. The hotel was an older hotel...But, completely renovated and for all practical purposes looked brand new. I was very impress. Will try to stay there the next time I visit.

    4
    « Excellent Location »

The hotel is located minutes from downtown Asheville. The property is clean and well maintained. The breakfast is comparable to other hotel chains in this range in that it's not restaurant quality but it's edible. The bed was comfortable the pillows not so much. Biggest issue was that the curtains did not block out all the light that comes from the parking lot.

    3
    « Tired »

The staff was friendly and the breakfast was acceptable (the eggs were so-so), but the room is need of updating: Worn, frayed carpet, stale air. I'd definitely spend more, if I had to, to stay someplace else. The location is good for exploring Asheville and the surrounding area, but there are plenty of other places nearby. I would have asked for another room, but we arrived late, we were tired, and the place looked pretty full: I guess that was my mistake.

    5
« Visit for family wedding and leisure travel »

Very clean updated site.A great value for the price. We found the site on line and with the AAA rate got a great deal. We would definitely recommend this site to our friends. The location was very convenient to the sites we were visiting.

    « Convenient, mid-priced. Feels a little worn »

I've stayed in half a dozen Asheville-area hotels. I tried this when looking for a decent room that didn't cost a fortune. Location is convenient. Exterior is well maintained. They've done a pretty good job updating an old motel, but the interiors felt tired and worn, even though the decor and finishes have been updated. They're due for another refresh. Beds are hard. Fridge wasn't cold, lamp was broken, caulk was missing around tub, etc. It's time for some TLC. But it felt safe, and was quiet. Lots of dogs but was not disturbed by any barking.

    « Nice »

Clean rooms. It's reasonably priced. Front desk was friendly. Only negative is the parking. We have a truck and the spaces were so small. We had to park on the other side of the building. But we would stay again.

« very nice and clean »

My first visit to North Carolina was very pleasant. My family enjoyed the state. After a long drive to the hotel, it was a joy to find the place so clean and the staff friendly. The breakfast was great and way above what I expected. I plan on staying at another best western next month.

    « An Excellent Find! »

I wonder if reviewers who said things like "standard breakfast fare" are really talking about the same place! The breakfast here was amazing! A variety of juice, fruit and dry cereals, pastries, bread, bagels and so on (standard so far), but also had yogurt, a big vat of "real" (not instant) oatmeal with raisins, brown sugar, etc. to add; hard boiled eggs, biscuits and gravy, waffles, grits, prepared eggs (scrambled or buttery omelet the days we were there), sausage and bacon. They even had soy milk available! Definitely the best breakfast ever - and enough room for everyone, too. There are 4 buildings and we were in the one furthest from the office, on the other side of the pool. Our room was great. Everything worked, it was clean, large, furnished nicely - chairs for reading or working at the desk, plenty of light; the climate control system was quiet and efficient; great shower. We thought the beds were very comfortable though I understand that tastes vary. The WiFi was more secure than most and worked consistently with no problems. The location made it easy to get almost anywhere in or out of town and even being right by the highway we didn't notice any road noise at night. I did observe that the price doubled over the weekend and it was much less of a bargain then - but I imagine that's common in the area and just the effect of supply and demand. We were there 3 nights and definitely would stay there again.

    5
« Nice comfortable and clean rooms! »

Clean and comfortable beds....bathroom was clean with the regular samples of soap and shampoo, breakfast items were fresh and presented in an appetizing display. The bathroom sink would not drain very well and the bathtub stopper would not stop the water up - but I improvised by putting a hand towel over it which kept the water from escaping.

    3
    « Served its purpose »

Surprisingly did not notice road noise, standard breakfast fare and our pet friendly room was a little grungy. Our socks were dark gray on the bottom from walking on the carpet in the room. Plus side, it is pet friendly and even has a dog station in the dog walking area.

    4
    « Clean Hotel »

My Mom, Aunt, and I stayed here for two nights. It was a very clean hotel. The breakfast was good and the WiFi worked great. We ran out of toilet paper and I used the extra roll. The cleaning lady didn't give us an extra roll of toilet paper and we ran out again. So my Aunt had to go to the front desk to get more toilet paper, this was the only problem we had .

    2
    « Terrible Room »

The room was terribly humid even though the A.C. was on everything in the room was damp. The bathroom/sink area was cramped impossible for two people to use either at the same time. The room was ugly and uninviting. A gap under the entrance door let bugs in.

    1
« Room clean corridors stained and smells of beer »

We moved rooms because it became clear that our neighbors were hosting a party- our neighbor in the second room stumbled up the stairs in front of us. Desk clerk was great - helpful and cheerful. On highway- pool is in the parking lot. No windows to open in rooms.

« Perfect place to stay while exploring Asheville »

Another perfect stay at the Best Western on Tunnel Road in Asheville. A comfortable place to relax while visiting in the Asheville area. The staff is always attentive, the rooms are pleasant and clean, and breakfast has a wide variety of items. A great place to launch your mountain vacation.

    « disappointed »

dirty, damp carpet that made your feet black/dirty if we went barefoot, had to where shoes. room smelled like mold and mildew. we could see mildew around the bathroom vent fan. After complaint, the staff attendant took 25% off the first night, stated they were full and couldn't move us to a clean room. Very disappointed with our visit to Ashville because of hotel condition.

    5
    « Wonderful Visit »

Very clean Very efficient. Close to many fun things to do. We were greeted with a very friendly desk person and the next morning there was a huge breakfast buffet. The beds very very comfortable and I can't wait tio go back.

    2
    « Disappointing. »

Was disappointed with this particular Best Western. The breakfast was nice enough but the mattresses were pretty hard and not as good as other hotels for similar prices. Likewise - consistently throughout the night there were construction workers that were very loud meaning sleep was difficult.

    5
    « Good value »

This property was nice. The room was updated along with the lobby and breakfast area. It is an outside entranced hotel. The room was in great condition and conformable. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful with local directions. Would pick this hotel for sure on our next trip to Asheville.

« Very helpful and friendly front desk and helped me find the places that I was looking for. »

This is a very nice place to stay and I will come back in the near future. I in finding the place because it isn!t next to the other Motels. I was very impressed with everyone at the front desk and they mad me sold on coming back to this location.

Everything about it was great, super clean, super quiet, large room, great, great shower pressure, the breakfast was the best of any best western I've ever stayed, great front desk service... seriously, fabulous hotel. Thanks!!!

« Not the best but ok for the price »

For the price, it isn't a bad hotel. Our room was in need of some fixing up, Also not a fan of the "motel" type setup. I prefer all the entrances to be indoors and was a little uncomfortable here since it was just my daughter and myself. Staff was friendly. We were in the 200 building, so we weren't right on the street so traffic noise wasn't a problem. Our room was on the second floor - no elevators. Not really a problem for us but those with mobility issues wouldn't be able to get to the room.

« Helpful Staff - Okay for a Night or Two »

When I relocated to Asheville recently, I needed a motel where I could have my pups with me and this was the only one available because of a holiday weekend. The staff (desk and housekeeping) were very helpful and nice. The room was average; however, the AC smelled like mold/mildew when it was turned on - my allergies were not happy about that. If you're looking for a stopover, then I'd say this is fine; however, I wouldn't want to stay there more than 1-2 nights. The only other minus is that it's located in a dip between hills so cellphone service is spotty at best.

    2
    « Dirty Floors »

Upon arrival, everything looked okay. The internet was fast and the beds and bathroom looked clean. It wasn't until my daughter started crawling around that I noticed that the carpet was filthy! To top it all off, the beds were hard, and pillows were lumpy. Not a great night. Not a place you want to take your baby or toddler.

    « Wasn't expecting that Good »

From the check in to the check out, everything was relatively fine. Good service of front desk and breakfast attendant , polite, friendly. Room extremely clean even in the details like the sanitized glove where is the remote control, Bed extra confortable and price reasonable. Very satisfied.

    « Asheville Best Western »

Excellent breakfast. Lots of hot and cold choices. We especially liked the granola and the pot of fresh oatmeal. Breakfast area was large with lots of tables and chairs. The room we stayed in was newly remodeled. Another amenity we appreciated was the 2 bottles of complimentary water and mints in the room.

    4
« Old style motor inn »

Old style motor inn with outdoor entrances to the rooms. However, the rooms are very clean; the staff is friendly, and the hot breakfast was way above average for this type of hotel. Tunnel road location requires a car to access downtown Asheville or other tourist destinations such as Biltmore.

    2
    « Barking Dogs »

Room was adequate and the hotel seems to pride itself on cleanliness. Too bad that they don't seem to care about guest's comfort. The room next to us had two dogs that barked a lot when the owner's were out of the room. The front desk called the dog's owners who conveniently didn't answer their phone. They did offer to move us to another room but we were leaving the next morning and didn't want to pack, unpack and repack. They did, however, take $15 off the bill. I feel that it should have been more. The hotel has several different wings and if they want to continue to allow pets, I don't see why they don't confine them to just one wing.

    3
    « Best Western - Asheville »

This is a motel, not a hotel. Please advertise as such. WAY overpriced. If it had been more clearly advertised as outdoor access, modest accommodations, and more appropriately priced, I would be giving a better review. Located near mall a plus and breakfast was good.

    1
    « Terrible experience »

I was given a room that was occupied and the housekeeping supervisor told me that the lady at the front desk always makes the same mistake. 2nd room smelled like cigarettes, and was dirty. Finally kept the 3rd room, even though it did not smell clean, vanity light was broken, no shower curtain, towels were paper thin, one was torn. General appearance was old and poorly kept.. Breakfast was less than fair, below average food quality.

    1
« The worst hotel ever »

I read all these "excellent" reviews and wonder if we're talking about same place. We were there 3 days ago First room given was occupied, second room was dirty and smelled of smoke. Third room's carpet was dirty, candy wrappers on the floor, one towel in bath (we were 2), towels old and torn, bathroom floor not clean, no shower curtain and light in bathroom not working. Please note I'm a BWestern fan, but this is the worst ever. Breakfast ok and Courtney at Front Desk otherwise, it needs a thorough cleaning and better staff. Avoid this hotel.

    5
    « Wedding »

Bit pricey for the room. Breakfast was delicious. Room Was clean. Convenient location. Looked like it had been previously a motel that Best Western took over. It was difficult to turn left when leaving. The pool looked very inviting but we didn't have time.

    5
« Excellent value for the area »

We truly enjoyed our time here. The ONLY detractor for myself was that the mattress was firmer than I like, but I'm used to a Sleep Number bed and a softer setting. My wife likes a firmer mattress and she was very satisfied with the mattress just the way it was. It's just a matter of personal taste. I still got a good night's sleep, though I woke up and had to reposition a few times. The breakfast was great! Many more options than most places, and a filling, tasty meal to start the day. Waffles, pre-cooked omelets, hard-boiled eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits and sausage gravy, fresh oatmeal on the hot menu, and lots of options on the cold menu as well.

    4
    « Convenient location »

We were dropping off friends at the airport early in the am, we were able to check-in early and enjoy the day at the Biltmore. Carpets had just been cleaned, nice room. We had a room toward the back of the property, not sure if it is noisier closer to the street.

« This Best Western was the best of the Best »

I count on Best Western to give me an excellent experience and Asheville even exceeded what I Expected. From staff to room to the wonderful breakfast, all was A+. We ordered a rollaway bed and it beat us to the room after check-in. The staff helped us with tourist questions and getting our points straightened out. They seemed to know what we needed ahead of us asking! I am left with a feeling of a great Best Western visit.

    4
    « broken fridge »

Every thing in my room was ok except for the non working refrigerator. The room could have had more detail cleaning but overall the carpet and bedding seemed clean enough. In closing I wish the pool area could have fixed pool basket ball goal net and had more chairs with shade umbrellas.

    « Completely renovated--like new »

This hotel sparkles. It has been completely renovated. New furnishings, very comfortable beds; our unit even had a new Jacuzzi. Great value too; one of the least expensive lodgings among major chains. Comes with hot breakfast; large breakfast room with plenty of seats. Located on east side of town, near Interstate highways. Good selection of restaurants toward downtown, but only a few minutes away. Staff recommended a superb place for dinner.

    5
« Very clean and spacious rooms, good breakfast too. Nice staff »

We had a very stressful, long, rainy drive the night we checked in. Our room was extremely spacious, quiet, clean, conveniently located and the front desk staff was nice. If I happen through this very quaint city again, I would definitely stay here!

    5
    « The Best! »

This is the only place we stay while in the area. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the pillow top mattresses help when you have a next day agenda and need a good nights sleep. We visit Asheville occasionally and this BW is conveniently located close to restaurants, stores and downtown. Especially enjoyed the room with a jetted tub with entrance in Lobby. Never disappointed.

    5
    « Reliable »

We don't do road trips that often but we usually look for Best Westerns. This one didn't disappoint. It is located conveniently off of I-240, exit 7. The room was clean and comfortable; and the staff was friendly and helpful. The only problem was a loud motorcycle that was being warmed up early in the morning, but that is not the fault of the motel.

« Sending son off to college! »

This is a very nice hotel at a reasonable price. My husband and I stayed when we took our son to move in to college in Swannonoa. It is clean, pool is nice, staff is helpful, breakfast was good, beds are comfortable, WiFi worked well. Small fridge, coffee pot, even a safe for valuables. The location is very convenient, less than 10 minutes to downtown and it is a straight shot on Tunnel Rd. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends. I am happy to have a "goto" spot now that my son is there. It is also close to his college.

    5
« Nice place to stay »

« Great location, fast internet, yummy breakfast »

Having had a couple of bad experiences at Best Western Hotels, I was reluctant to book this one. I am glad I did though. Hotel was centrally located, rates were fair for the area, breakfast was really good. Although we were near the highway, we heard no noise. Everything was in excellent working order, internet was fast, pool was clean and had many chairs available. I would stay here again!

« Always Clean and Friendly »

The staff here are very friendly and accommodating. Clean and comfortable rooms, that have everything you might need. If you have forgotten something, just ask. A great breakfast is included? What a package.

« Good place to stay in Asheville »

Clean comfortable room. Staff was attentive and friendly. Beds were great. Location is excellant for visit to downtown Asheville. The breakfast was good with many choices. Hot food and plentiful. Room was quiet with good parking in front of room. Stayed one night but would go back if visiting Asheville.

    2
    « Same motel? »

We paid about a third of the price listed here. The carpets and bathroom tile were damp (rainy outside, very humid), even after a move to a room where the AC worked. Strong chemical scent might have been room deodorizer to cover the odor of mildew. Desk clerk was apologetic and helpful, but housekeeping wasn't great (e.g., removed and didn't replace soap). Two of us changed rooms.

    4
    « Surprisingly good »

I was a little dubious of this place; I don't usually stay at hotels where are the doors are on the outside. And it started off a little rough, because we had trouble finding the room - it was on the back, and nothing indicated the room numbers on the back. However, the room was large. The bathroom was recently remodeled. There was a mini-fridge and a microwave. And, surprisingly, they gave us a couple of small bottles of water. It was clean. Breakfast was very good. Biscuits, waffles, oatmeal, bacon, sausage, eggs, yogurt, cereal, pastries, fruit.

    3
    « Convenient Location »

This is an older property consisting of several 2 story buildings. Room access is from the outside and there are no elevators to the second floor. Our room was recently updated and was clean, comfortable and quiet. Be sure to request a room facing away from Tunnel Road to avoid street noise. Since the buildings are clustered together, parking may be full near your room, but there is additional parking near the lobby. The free breakfast included a good variety of offerings - eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits and gravy, cereals, waffles, fruit, etc. The hotel is about ¼ mile from I240 and a 5 minute drive to downtown Asheville. It is also about a 10 minute drive to the Biltmore Estate and the entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway. While there are no significant complaints about this property, it rates just average when compared to other Best Western properties we've visited.

    5
« Clean rooms, Hot and Cold Breakfast, Close to downtown »

Stayed here while son playing at John B Lewis. Half way between fields and Asheville. Clean big rooms with microwave and fridge. Newly updated decor. Huge breakfast offerings-both hot and cold. Great value. If you are into Pokemon Go-spawning like crazy just sitting in the room. Welcomes dogs. Has a dog walking area behind the hotel with free dog bags.

    « hotel experience »

House keeping very sloppy. Many dirty items not removed or cleaned. Dirty coffee cups, dirty towels not replaced. Clean towels left on bed and not hung on racks. i WILL NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL AGAIN ON a return trip.

    « Nice stop »

Half way to Hilton Head, we spent one night here. The breakfast bar was great and the room was clean. We will stop here again when in Asheville. This location is close to the downtown area and the Blue Ridge Parkway.

    3
« Reasonable price for the area, »

It is an old-fashioned motel -- outside entrances -- but in good condition. Friendly staff, just a few minutes from downtown Asheville. NOT walking distance, if only because of the tunnel (people honk their horns in the tunnel). Breakfast was typical fare -- eh. We would stay there again.

  • 3
    « Disappointed »

The reviews for this Best Western were a little misleading. The queen room that we had was just okay. It smelled like smoke, even though it was a non smoking room. We arrived around 7pm to room with a broken AC. The staff was able to repair the unit within about an hour.....thankfully, as the hotel had no rooms to move us too. I did love the outdoor pool. Reminded me of my childhood. Not a bad place to sleep for the night. Just not as nice as the reviews suggested.

    5
    « They are great! »

I will definitely stay in this motel the next time I come back to Asheville. We have a dog, and she was welcomed just like any other guest! We had a beautiful room on the second floor which was very clean and quiet. Breakfast was out of this world! It was the best free breakfast that I've seen anywhere outside of Europe! The location is much closer to downtown Asheville then I had thought, so that was a happy surprise. And the $10 extra I had to pay for the dog was well worth it since the rooms are so clean and do not smell of disinfectant like other hotel chains. We did have a problem with a missing remote for the television, but they worked very hard to overcome the problem for us. Everyone that worked there was excellent. This best Western on Tunnel Road is the place to stay if you want excellence for such a reasonable low price.

    5
« Nice place to stay in Ashville for families »

Hotel is 2 story with easy access in and out for vehicles. Room was very tidy and the beds made daily. The pool was clean and safe, had to use room key to enter. Breakfast room was very clean and tidy, well spread out with a good variety. Staff were friendly and helpful. This is a handy location for restaurants and if you are visiting Biltmore or going rafting in the hills!

    5
    « Nice accommodations »

This was my second visit to this hotel in the past three years. Very nice clean hotel with great service. They went the extra mile with the variety and quality of their breakfast . Being that we were on a Motorcycle and not familiar with the area, we used UBER to get around. Fun area. I would defiantly come back and stay at the Best Western Tunnel Road!

    3
    « Expected much more! »

After reading reviews we anticipated an above average Best Western. Really disappointed! The room was only marginally clean. The moisture was beyond reason (rug was so wet you could not walk on it with bare feet). Room was crowded and difficult to maneuver. Just really reminded us of an old time 50's motel. Usually Best Westerns have a laundry room (really important to those of us traveling for any length of time) and this motel did not have one. Very inconvenient. Staff was helpful enough but nothing outstanding. Will look for another motel the next time in the area.

    5
    « "Great night's sleep" »

This was our third stay at the hotel in the past year. The bed and pillows are super comfortable. Even though it's located on a busy road, we could not hear the traffic from our room. The location is perfect for us as it is near family who live in the area and provides easy access to Great Smoky Mountains National Park and the Blue Ridge Parkway for our hiking adventures. The desk clerks are very capable and helpful in providing directions to local attractions and amenities.

    5
« Great quality for a quality price »

My first stay at a Best Western and I was pleasantly surprised. Clearly had the look and feel of a more upscale hotel. Everything seemed clean, neat and the customer service was very good. The hot breakfast was on par with a Hampton, which I'm most used to staying at and this whole experience felt comparable. And for a better financial expense.

    « Great location »

Hotel is very convenient to downtown and close to many places to eat. Also close to Biltmore estate. Room was pleasant and clean. Bed was comfortable. Free breakfast a plus. Staff are friendly and gladly provide clear directions to various places of interest. Will definitely stay there again.

« Older but with Upgrades »

Spent 1 night during a many state road trip. Convenient off interstate and close to Great Smoky Park. Comfortable room with outdoor access. Although BF said 6am, was ready earlier which was a bonus since we had a long drive to New Orleans. Comfy bed and room although smelt a bit musty, even with AC on ( which worked well ). Would have been a bit expensive to pay for but able to use BW points we accumulated. Not sure would stay again if we had to pay though

« First floor with outdoor entrance »

This was a very nice motel. There were three of us couples on our summer motorcycle trip. Just get a motel when the day is about done. We were excited that our motorcycles could be parked right outside our door for the night. It was a newly renovated room and was very clean. We even enjoyed the pool and the spacious continental breakfast area. Would stay there again.

    « Great value »

Newly renovated room, very clean, comfortable, pretty on the outside, very convenient to downtown Asheville. We would stay here again. I wouldn't recommend the breakfast for anyone with gluten allergy. Not a lot of options, otherwise, wide variety of breakfast items for those without allergies.

    3
    « Outdoor entrances »

Woah I would have known this was exterior corridor and on the freeway. The room was ok at first glance. But little things like an upside down light switch, chips in the tub and coffee maker with no cups started to wear thin. Staff was pleasant and lobby looked good.

« Great visit near the Biltmore »

Had trouble finding a room on a July Sunday, but, fortunately, found a room here the night before our visit to the Biltmore. The rate was a bit steep for a BW, but, given my late booking and the demand, it's to be expected- so, reserve ahead!! The beds were comfortable, the room clean, and the breakfast filling. My only complaint is having to carry a large suitcase up an outdoor flight of stairs, no elevator, but, exercise. I would stay here again.

« GREAT & CLEAN PLACE TO STAY »

We came to Asheville to pick up my 92 years old mom. We stayed at BW for 2 nights. The staff was very nice and friendly and would go out of there way to help. The lady at the front desk was very nice and friendly. She made you feel at home. The room was very very clean looked like it was brand new. The bathroom had a large tiled shower. Very nice. The breakfast was awesome. They had hot food (scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy) plus waffles cereals and fruit. The ladies who put the food out watched the amount of food put out to make sure nothing ran out. The first night we stayed there the motel was SOLD OUT. I went to breakfast thinking they would run out of food. To my delight they had plenty and kept it stocked. The prices were reasonable and as I said the rooms were very nice. The next trip to Asheville we will stay here.

    « 501 s tunnel »

overall satisfaction; bathroom floor stayed damp; a/c either on or off. breakfast buffet showed effort by hotel to provide a variety (I just can't seem to ever like scrambled eggs from a hotel!) fairly busy road is Tunnel and a major intersection of it and highways is merely 2 blocks away. This probably contributed to the noise at the pool (I was fortunate enough to be in back building so shielded by another building), and also the delay there almost always was getting out of the driveway. staff in lobby very good, but housekeeping staff did not speak English

    4
    « Reasonably Priced! »

Our room was extremely adequate for our needs. A very large, hot breakfast buffet was included in the price of the room. It is conveniently located, right off the expressway and 3 or 4 miles from downtown. The heated pool was open until 10 pm and was clean.

    4
    « One night only »

This nice clean place was perfect for our needs. The front desk staff was very nice & helpful. The breakfast in the morning included waffles bacon and eggs - certainly exceeding our expectations. We grabbed a couple apples for the road and coffee/fruit seemed to be available 24/7.

    5
    « High Quality Motel »

We were looking for a basic place to stay that was pet friendly. The BW Asheville Tunnel Road was a great price, but the very pleasant surprise was to see how well-maintained and clean the entire motel was -- from the outside to the rooms. It has clearly been recently upgraded, so the furnishings and finishings were very nice, to include USB charging ports, granite counter, etc. My wife enjoyed the pool.

    « Very pleasantly surprised »

5 stars for what it is. I travel for business all the time through rural America so I've stayed in many aged Motels (with an M for Motor Hotel), outside entry etc. Sure this motel has "old bones" but the renovations and upgrades for this style of 60's-70's vintage motel are second to none. Very nicely updated. Sure it's not a new Hampton, but the rooms are clean, comfortable, and everything is well updated. I was impressed. The staff was as good as any hotel a star or two up the food chain. We were there for vacation so we didn't need a lot of business amenities - but they appeared to have them. DEFINITELY worth the price compared to what else is in the area. I stay at a newer hotel in another part of town for business..... for 30% more money. Not sure I'm getting much more for my 30% other than location. This Best Western is highly recommended.

« short stay but very nice »

we were only in Asheville one night but were pleasantly surprised with the service and the cleanliness of our room. Our room was also quiet which was another surprise since the hotel is so near an interstate and on a main road. Breakfast was way more than we were prepared for. Very nice stay. Would recommend and return.

« Great place to stay »

I was very happy with service, cleanliness and location to the downtown area of Asheville. A friend of my recommended staying at Best Western Motels because they have had good experiences staying at these properties. I have been very disappointed with the inconsistency of Wyndham properties. They can be good or absolutely awful. So far I am very pleased with Best Western. They actually have a real breakfast.

    5
« Great Hotel for a night or Two »

We drove to the Great Smoky Mtns. and used this hotel for our stay. The room was very clean and updated and best of all the price was very good and we were able to have our dog for a nominal fee. The breakfast was good and the staff kept up with keeping food stocked and tables clean.

    « Nice Retreat »

My spouse and I's stay at Best Western (Ashville Tunnel Road) was very good. We have stayed at Best Western prior to this visit and are always pleased with the level of service, cleanliness and friendly atmosphere. It is really nice to not have to travel for breakfast and you know they have it covered for you. Great place to stay. Thank You.

    « Girls get away »

Best Western did a wonderful job with their comfort, service, and thorough attention to detail. The room was quiet and comfortable. The one concern I had they attended to quickly. The staff was welcoming and inviting. I would definitely stay again.

« You get what you pay for! »

My Son and I traveled to Asheville to visit local attractions and sample some of the local breweries. My impression is that we paid to much for a hotel that was in need of updating. BUT--ALL the hotels in Asheville are OVERPRICED! Not a big fan of free breakfasts. Choices yes--- but healthy or tasty NO!

« Excellent location for Blue Ridge Parkway »

Reserved this hotel on line with special instructions of a lower room near the office. Upon arrival, we had exactly what we had asked for and the staff was very friendly. Very helpful with directions to restaurants for dinner and then had a hot breakfast with eggs, sausage, waffles, cereal, toast, danish, juice, coffee, and milk. I will stay here again when visiting this part of North Carolina.

« Nice hotel for holiday weekend »

Stayed there over the July 4th weekend. Clean, basic motel with no complaints. Breakfast was ok. Staff was friendly. Very convenient location near Black mountain, downtown Asheville, Biltmore, and the Blue RIdge Parkway. It was a full house with no vacancy over the holiday but the motel was quiet as were the rooms. Walls were not paper thin like in some hotels.

    « 4th Of July »

Friday night on a holiday weekend and it was their last room as we arrived at 6PM. Top of the line room we really did not want with a Jacuzzi . We did although gladly use it as we were on a 2500 mile motorcycle ride and it was nice to relax. I give average value only because we would have preferred a standard room at standard pricing.

    5
    « wonderful stay »

everything was perfect during our very short stay: check in was easy and quick, room was big and welcoming and clean, both beds were extremely comfortable, breakfast was excellent, price was outstanding - cannot compliment enough

    « Awesome Visit! »

I wanted to surprise my wife for our 31st wedding anniversary with an overnight getaway. I chose the Best Western on Tunnel Road in Asheville N.C.. Our visit was great from the beginning. The grounds were very clean and the staff was friendly. When booking the room I let them know that it was our anniversary. I was not expecting anything from it but when we got there we were both surprised. The room I booked had a Jacuzzi in it, which I did expect. What I did not expect was rose peddles on the bed, Jacuzzi and dresser. The peddles were laid on in two hearts with I Love You in them on the bed. Several towels were folded into beautiful swans on the bed and the Jacuzzi. It was very special. The room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast area was very well done and spacious. Breakfast was great and there was a lot to choose from. We did not swim in the pool but did go look at it. It was big, clean and inviting. We would definitely go there again.

« Better than it looks from the outside »

This is a motel-style property that admittedly appears a bit dated on the outside, but you can tell that the interior has recently been remodeled. The rooms were clean and comfy, and the lobby/breakfast area was modern and spacious with plenty of seating. Breakfast was good, having all of the typical choices (eggs, sausage/bacon, biscuits/gravy, waffles, cereals...etc), and while it got busy at times, everything was restocked promptly. The pool was quite large, and while it was right next to the road, it was never a problem for us. My kids loved the basketball hoop! The hotel location provided easy access to the highway and was only about 2 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway. It was great for exploring the local parks and mountains! My only complaint was the A/C unit was a bit loud and gave the room a slight musty smell. Overall, it was a great 4 night stay and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

« More Motel than Hotel? »

Some previous reviewers have stated "good for basic stay". I would agree-there are pluses and minuses. The Good: Pleasant staff, accomodated my room location request, lovely breakfast choices in pleasant area, pool looked clean and appealing, good to have fridge and mic in room. The not-so-good:The room seemed to have 200% humidity which the loud AC unit didn't clear up until approximately last day of my stay. Several other reviews describe the loud, inefficient? AC unit The toilet area is tiny (altho it is obvious that this is a remodeled property, and this is probably the best they could do. So tile and fixtures are o.k.). Review probably comes down to a "Value" issue. It is a "nice" place, and with the use of Google, the location (beside busy hiway) should not come as a surprise, so therefore the problem, in my opinion is that it is just Overpriced.

    3
    « Pretty nice »

It was reasonable priced and close to all the places my husband & I planned to visit. I can tell that they do make an effort to keep everything clean & operational. When ever I come back to Asheville this will be a hotel on my list of places to stay.

    « 3 day stay »

This place had its good and bad points. On plus size not a bad price. Room appeared clean, had a pool and breakfast. Cons the first day we arrived the room smelled of what I describe as wet cat. And an air freshener was glued to the air conditioner. On the second and third day's the smell started to lessen. Also the pool was in the front parking lot right beside 4 lanes of traffic so it was very noisy , but was kept clean. Would I stay here again yes. I saw no bugs etc. I just wished the had a chair on the walkways to sit outside at night. That would have been nice.

    5
    « Great stay »

We had an excellent stay and were treated with respect and dignity. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was excellent. We enjoyed our stay and we recommend this hotel as a great place to stay.

    5
    « Very nice hotel »

This hotel had a very nice room, very clean, nice sink, nice king size bed. The only complaint was I had a little difficulty finding a parking spot, but the hotel was full, so I guess that was to be expected.

    5
    « Pleasant & yummy breakfast »

Nicely decorated room gave us a great evening stay on a very comfortable bed. In the morning the young lady taking care of the breakfast bar made it a very pleasant experience. Her happy attitude and the great food that was served gave us a good start to the day. I am looking forward to the next time we stay there.

« Basic hotel stay. Really smoky room. »

The weekend we needed a place to stay in Asheville was apparently the same weekend that the rest of the world was visting Asheville bc everything was booked in the city! Thankfully, we did get a room at this motel. It was just your basic motel and somewhat high for the accomodations, in my opinion. The continental breakfast was average, Beds were comfortable and room seemed to be clean but the only rooms that were available were smoking rooms and it was SO smoky!! We literally had to wash everything including our bags upon returning home and we are very tolerant people. So, if only a smoking room is available for your stay, you definitely want to think twice. I literally had a hard time sleeping for the smell.

    5
    « Nice and quiet »

I travel with a large dog and this is hotel that allows dogs. Very nice, clean rooms. I notice they are sold out while we are here, and I'm sure one reason why is: good price and nice quality. Close to a busy road and I hear nothing. I don't hear other dogs (good dog owners!) I don't hear traffic. I notice the pool is well used; ice machine has ice; easy and convenient parking, place to walk your dog (and they stock with bags, too). I'll be back.

    4
    « Good for a basic stay »

Comfortable hotel for a short stay in Asheville. Convenient to most things on the east side. Great breakfast. Older folks might want to request a first floor room as there are no elevators and the steps are a bit steep.

« One Problem After Another »

We chose this hotel for it's convenient location. It is fairly close to town and fairly easy to navigate. However, the housekeeper didn't fully close the room door after cleaning on the first day, leaving our room door unlocked and ajar all afternoon. The refrigerator didn't work the entire stay, but we didn't report it because we had a cooler on hand. The float in the toilet tank started sticking on the last evening. We reported this problem early the next morning, but never received repair or even a check prior to our departure. The breakfast was good and had some hot food on the bar, which is preferable to cold pastries. The wi-fi was spotty. Overall, a poor experience.

    4
    « Overall, great!!! »

We don't stay in a motel very often. I couldn't remember the last time we stayed in a motel with an outside entrance to the room. We were pleasantly surprised. The room was huge and very clean. Great shower. The breakfast was good. The location was easy to get to from downtown.

« My new favorite Asheville Hotel »

We stay in Asheville several times a year and had become dissatisfied with the value of our previous hotel of choice, The Indigo, so we tried the BW on Tunnel and found it to be a much better value with better amenities and just as an accommodating staff. The room was extremely clean, bed was comfortable and the location was very close to shopping and downtown. We have found our go-to hotel in Asheville and we will be back.

    « Vacation »

Great place, close to downtown and Biltmore Estate Rooms clean everyone friendly. Will stay again and tell all my family and friends.ask for discount coupons to Biltmore and get 10.00 off per person for two days. Plan spend at least two days at Biltmore, the Winery the horse back riding and walking trails are the best. Spent several hours at the winery eating and tasting wine no limited on how much you can try. Plan to eat at Tupelo Honey restaurant in downtown for bkfst and dinner. You will love the service and the food. Make sure you get the biscuit and jelly.

« Fairly dated but clean »

We stayed here because finding lodgings on a June weekend in Asheville can be a challenge. This place is dated, and low on charm, but adequate and clean. It is dated. I cannot even say you get what you pay for, given we paid a pretty penny. Oh well, this is what happens when one does not think ahead. There is an outdoor pool. It was full of kids having fun. So, if you have kids this might be a great place to put up. If that is not your situation, try to stay elsewhere so you can soak up more if the charm of this great town.

    3
    « This is a Motel »

This motel advertises as a Hotel in Downtown Asheville. It is, in fact, a motel that is miles away from Downtown. You can't even walk to downtown if you wanted to, since the hotel is on a giant boulevard, just off the highway. The motel is fine, as far as motels are concerned. It was clean and updated. The breakfast was better than expected. The staff was pleasant and competent. But, I absolutely would not have paid 170.00/night for a highway motel. I am a little bitter that I was lied to.

    5
    « Great Hotel Room! »

I booked this hotel from reading reviews and it didn't disappoint! It is an older hotel that has been totally updated! We loved the location and Asheville was very easy to get around...close to downtown, the river (you should float it by tube or kayak) and the Biltmore. I liked the fact that the doors opened to the outside (like when I was a kid). The room was big, the beds were super comfy (if you dont sleep with your child that kicks), the bathroom area was totally updated with new tile and the pool was nice and big (which the 8&11 loved). The breakfast area is nice and very updated. We liked the breakfast (biscuits, gravy, eggs, cereal etc) but the girls were disappointed there wasn't any waffles...oh well.

    4
    « Clean and Comfortable »

The Best Western Biltmore East is actually no where near the Biltmore Estate but don't let that discourage you. You can hop on the highway and be at the Gates to Biltmore in about 10 minutes. s for the hotel, we found it very comfortable. It seems to have been recently upgraded and is very nice, not your typical roadside motel. The beds were wonderful and the breakfast was more than the usual cold fare. Front desk staff was adequate but had little desire to direct us around town. Housekeeping staff was efficient and not intrusive. The only down side to this place can be the price. Most of the time it is around $80-$90 a night but hold onto your wallet during October and early spring when the rates jump to over $200 a night!!

    5
    « Nice and comfortable! »

This is an older property but it is superbly maintained! Rooms are clean and well-supplied, staff courteous and friendly and helpful with local directions. Honestly, it is a nice, quiet and conveniently placed hotel. We enjoy our BW hotels!

    « Our dog approved! »

As a pet owner I was very impressed that there is a spacious area for the pet owners to take their pets out. It is clean, the plastic bags are provided and it has plenty of light at night. Nice touch! The rooms are clean, well furnished, and they smell good. The breakfast was good as well. Best Western did not disappoint us. Well managed property.

« Clean, Safe and Priced Right »

Visited Asheville and stayed here a couple of nights. Quiet location, although near busy freeway. Rooms were the cleanest I've seen anywhere, spacious and comfortable. Great location for visiting Biltmore Estate. Arrived early and they allowed us to check in early. Would definitely stay here again.

Having stayed in best westerns for many years, I was looking forward on the stay in Asheville. This property did not disappoint. Room was clean, grounds were well kept. Good breakfast, attentive staff. Had a swim in the beautiful pool. Excellent location! Would definitely recommend. Will return!

    « Great Value »

We normally do not stay in Best Western hotels but we were pleasantly surprised by this one. It was really clean and had been updated. The bathroom was a little bit larger than expected and the shower was great, lots of water pressure and plenty of hot water fast. The breakfast was well stocked with all the usual things and even had two waffle makers which was a nice touch, no waiting in line! The staff was super friendly and everything, including the pool, was clean. The pool had a basketball goal which was great entertainment.

    5
« Great place to stay »

Great property! It is very well maintained. I saw people all over the grounds picking up paper and cleaning the pool. The room was absolutely spotless also! Breakfast was tasty and there was plenty of room for people to dine. Safe neighborhood located near restaurants and shopping. Beds were comfy and the room had a big TV. The Fridge and microwave in room was a plus.

« Soaking wet after riding the Blue Ridge »

We had been riding motorcycles on the Blue Ridge and had been rained on for 3 hours and was soaking wet, all the way through. They checked us in very quickly and were friendly even though we looked really sad or bad .... Got into the room and got in the shower as soon as I could and it was great!! They had coffee all the time, or at least when I wanted it. Had a nice breakfast and the place was very quiet. Was concerned at first since we had to HD motorcycles parked, though close to our room, but when it got dark the place was lit up very well, to put it mildly! Was nice to see that much light and that makes one feel secure. The room was clean and had everything we needed in it. Their sign said they were remodeling or had been remodeled but the rooms were very nice and the price was really good also. Will stay there again if we are in the area. Only thing we missed was a washer and dryer, we had wet clothes and no where to dry them other than hanging them up. But it was sunny outside so we started there...

    5
    « Excellent!!!! »

Exterior dated but remodeled well, interior 5 stars!!!!! Rooms were better than most 5 stars I stay at on the road. I would highly recommend this hotel if staying the Asheville area. Especially, considering its price point.

    « Nice »

Our last stop before Raleigh. Nice hotel, we were on first floor and all the room open directly to the outside, I like that. Nice area to walk your dog and bags to clean up after them. Room was spacious even with pack and play for our son. Pool liked nice but didn't have time to enjoy it. Overall I would stay again. Booked on booking.com, rate was $50 cheaper then best western site.

« Easy on the wallet »

Best Western is a hotel of choice when I travel. They always seem to have one near my running events . I love a refrigerator and microwave in the room so that dine in if I want to. The beds are well stocked with pillows and soft sheets. This was my 2nd trip to Asheville and hotel was in a beautiful location. Cost of lodging did not put a giant ouch! in my pocketbook .

    5
« Friendly staff great location »

Excellent location. Excellent friendly staff. Great breakfast bar. I had a problem with the room on the first night as there was a strong smoke smell from a previous guest. The front guest staff were very friendly and changed my room to a non smoking room. They also gave me a 50% reduction in the room rate for the first night. I enjoyed the location of the hotel and I would return to this hotel when I return to Ashville again.

« The breakfast area should have a construction zone signs posted! »

The hotel is fine for a night stay. Nothing fancy no extras. It appears to be clean. It was quiet compare to feedback from other hotels in area. The breakfast area had a lot of broken equipment and no juice. It was very continental but from which continent it was from? Coffee was very very weak and not from Brazil. For the money we spent on the room we will stop and get a quick bite. Stay if only to sleep and shower.

« Very nice updated hotel »

The Best Western in Asheville is a very comfortable and nicely renovated hotel. The rooms are roomy enough for 4, I have two teenage boys, and we all had our space. The breakfast is great, nice variety and plenty of seating. I would definitely recommend.

    « Great Value »

If you're looking for a pet friendly place in Asheville that isn't going to add on 50 dollars or more, consider this place. $10 extra for pets. Its an older property but very clean and very well maintained. Nice outdoor pool. Decent breakfast. Good price. Nothing much to complain about here

    5
    « Excellent Hotel »

2 Star price ....5 star value. I highly recommend this hotel if you are in the Asheville area. Attention to detail was apparent and the breakfast bar was second to none in the hotel service category. I had nothing to report on the negative rating side for this hotel.

    « Nice stay »

Asheville is a lovely town worth a visit. The Best Western Tunnel Road is located on the outside of town but downtown can easy be reached by car. The hotel has friendly staff, rooms are fine, beds good. Good shower and if you have a room in the second building (furthest away from the road) there is no notice from traffic notable. One negative: the cutlery used at breakfast is terrible. Very weak plastic which makes cutting anything, even a waffle, a huge challenge! Please get rid of it a.s.a.p.! Breakfast is standard as to be expected in this type of hotels.

    4
« Great all the way around »

« Great Rooms made Great Stay »

Didn't have reservations until that day. Rates were high at most places in Asheville so we took a chance and it was a great place! Close to everything and easy to get to. Breakfast was okay but probably because we got there late. Beds were great. A good value and good place.

« Friendly welcome, special requests were noted. »

« Comfortable and very clean »

Last week my family and I spent one night at Best Western Asheville for tourism. It is a small open hotel but the room, bathroom and bedclothing were very clean. Parking spaces available and the breakfast was very good as it had options of fruit, bread, cereal, eggs, pancakes, juices and others. I think it was a good choice for the rate.

« Good choice in Asheville »

This is your typical ?old style? exterior corridor hotel but one with recently updated interiors (new bathroom fixtures, tile, etc.). Our room was large and well equipped with microwave, safe, flat screen, coffee maker, and a small fridge with freezer compartment. I always appreciate the provision of a safe in the room. The bathroom was on the small side. Each day we were given two bottled waters, which compensated for the heavily chlorinated drinking water. The room was clean and quiet and the bed was comfortable. We asked for and were given a room in the back of the complex, probably a good choice as many units front on a busy highway. They offered a good breakfast with many hot and cold choices.Wi-fi was good and strong. The hotel is well located with easy access to downtown Asheville and many stores and restaurants.

« Great deal in Asheville NC »

Just spent 3 nights at this hotel. Room was well equipped , spacious and very clean. Hot breakfast was good, from the oatmeal to the scrambled eggs. Good coffee. USA paper each week day. Very convenient to downtown and other activities. Had the tv remote in a bag that had been sanitized . Lots of places to eat nearby.

The rooms have been recently remodeled and have been maintained and cleaned very well. The outside grounds and lot obviously get alot of attention. During my stay of two days someone was outside cleaning the walkways or working on the grounds. The free breakfast in the morning is a plus for the business traveler.

Clean room with a nice whirlpool tub. It was a little noisy in the morning because the room was near the office and breakfast but quiet at night. Bed was comfortable for an quick stay. Not too far from downtown.

« nice room with hot tub »

Staff I came in contact with were friendly and attentive, enjoyed hot tub in corner of large clean living room, breakfast selection impressed me, also set up on time and kept full, I felt we got a lot of accommodation on Asheville outskirt for reasonable price.

« Good location with clean rooms »

Recently decorated rooms, clean, great location for downtown Asheville and Blue Ridge Parkway. Cheap eats nearby and shopping malls within say reach. Close to highway but road noise wasn't a problem. Great coffee in breakfast area:)

    « Thank you again! »

I stay here always when in Asheville,(reminder for those that don't smoke) They still have smoking rooms, but if you can conquer your fear of that(some can't) I understand.Go somewhere else. But if you go somewhere else you are missing out on a total gem of a place that will take you back several years! Back years ago when we went on vacation with our Mom and Dad.This place is CLEAN! I mean clean! Friendly staff and great continental breakfast. They even put your t.v. remote in a sanitized bag(WHAT!)...really.It is not the Grove Park...but it's not 300.00 a night either.I almost forgot, they do have NO Smoking rooms! Thank you Best Western!David Doyle,Kentucky

    « Dog Friendly »

The room was nice and the staff was very friendly. It was nice that it was in such a convenient location to downtown Asheville. However, the main draw to the hotel is the fact that it is dog friendly and even has a dog rest area.

« Great for limited stay »

We only planned one day for Asheville to visit the Biltmore house. This hotel was truly right on the road and I was concerned about road noise--We were on the building end next to the road but it did NOT bother us during the evening/night.. The breakfast was good and plentiful with plenty of seating. The parking and maneuvering was a bit tight. Summer travelers, the pool is right beside the road but is a sunny spot.

« Great Home Base for Asheville »

We wanted a peaceful place to be on a very long road trip. This hotel met all our needs. The room was quiet and comfortable and every amenity was included. It was the perfect place for our brief stay in Asheville.

« A great location in Asheville for the price! »

We've stayed here several times. Always a great experience. Breakfast is above average; rooms are recently renovated. This is the first time we've been slightly disappointed as our room had an odor of old smoke or maybe a pet (they are pet friendly). Unfortunately, we checked in and left for the evening returning too late to change rooms. Would definitely recommend if staying in Asheville. Price is reasonable, rooms nice, breakfast good!

    « Impressed »

This wasn't my first choice when making a reservation for a weekend visit to Biltmore House but many hotels were sold out when I searched. I know with Best Westerns it is sometimes a hit or miss but this far exceeded expectations. Arrived late in the evening but received a warm welcome and quick check in. The room was very clean and fresh. I discovered there weren't enough bath towels and walked over to the office and the night clerk said she would bring some over. She arrived in less than 5 minutes and asked if anything else was needed and if the room was comfortable. WHAT???? Am I in a Best Western??? Had a first floor room facing the highway but could not hear traffic. The breakfast was what you find in the other major chains with a lot of choices for hot breakfast, cereal, juice and pastry. Everything here was clean. Room, bathroom, parking lot and breakfast area. I would highly recommend this property and would stay here again. I noticed many vehicles in the parking lot with bike racks so this must be a favorite of the Parkway riders and I understand why. Absolutely NO negatives about this stay.

    « Clean, good location/value »

Short drive to downtown, right on Rte 70: Very clean room, courteous staff, busy location, dog friendly. Rooms are fine, not a lot of space but comfortable: Plenty of outlets for charging, microwave, fridge, bathroom has been updated. Parking is on-site but crowded, you may not be able to park near your unit if you arrive late in the day. Breakfast was held in the office building, good standard fare, the room is comfortable but, not spacious. IMO, best to have a car when staying here, the venues/events a spread around as are many restaurants, however, once downtown, walking around looks like the way to go. There is some noise from the highway, but overall, a good place to stay.

« Stay to visit the Biltmore estate »

The room was very clean. The clerk was helpful to give directions to the Biltmore Estate. We had to go down the street to get something to eat, but brought it back to the Motel. I used the free WI FI, that is always nice.

    4
    « Biltmore visit »

We have stayed here numerous times on our visits to the Biltmore Estate. It is convenient, clean, quiet. We are Best Western members. It is close to restaurants and shopping. The Best Western hotels are, for the most part, quite good for the price and it is always a pleasure to stay at one of their establishments. We would stay there again when we are in the area. The breakfast provides a good selection of food - something for everyone.

    5
« Great for Biltmore Tours »

Clean rooms and affordable compared to other hotels this close to the Biltmore. Very close to the Biltmore, easy to navigate and no traffic to get there. Also quick access to downtown. Great continental breakfast in the morning.

« a great place! but terrible pillows »

This Best Western Motel was really nice. But for some reason, Best Western has decided to use these terrible pillows that are half the size of normal ones! They are awful in my opinion. Everything else about this hotel was fantastic.

    « Good Location »

We stopped here for one night while traveling. The room seemed clean, except for an earring on the floor in the bathroom. Beds were comfy and the complimentary breakfast was average. Very good location, just a few minute drive to downtown Asheville! Overall, nice experience.

    4
    « Great Value »

A renovated property, so it is in the style of a 1960's motel with individual entrances and parking right in front of the room, but thoroughly up-to-date in terms of amenities. Clean room, comfortable bed, good internet, and good breakfast. Just off of I-240, easy to drive to any part of town from here. All in all a very good value.

    5
    « Biltmore Visit »

We stopped in Asheville to visit the Biltmore Estate and chose this hotel because we stayed here last year on our way through the area. This is an older Best Western that has been updated. Rooms are somewhat smaller than newer hotels, but decor is pleasant and contemporary. Bed was very comfortable and and the room and bathroom were very clean. Room included a microwave and mini frig. Hotel is near several chain restaurants, just a short drive away, and also not far from downtown Asheville, which is well worth exploring - lively with many interesting restaurants. The hotel has an outdoor pool, usable in warm weather. The breakfast here is ample and good - hot items such as eggs, sausage, biscuits & gravy, as well as cereals, fruit, juice, yogurt, muffins, bagels, toast, etc. The staff is friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

    5
« Outstanding complementary breakfast way above average. »

I go to many Best Western hotels every year but this was my first stay at the Asheville Tunnel Road. The hotel exceeded my expectations: the room was well appointed and large. There was a table and sofa, large screen TV and very comfortable beds and pillows. If that wasn't enough, the complimentary breakfast blew me away. It had a much larger variety of items than your typical BW. Everything I tried was excellent. It would have been difficult to ask for better.

    4
    « Very Nice Experience »

We were in Asheville for a family event. The hotel was very convenient to the many event activities. Rooms were large and very nicely appointed with many amenities. The hotel staff was very helpful and courteous. The breakfast was terrific and included a large number of items that satisfied my family's appetite which can be challenging. We will stay here again when we have the opportunity to come back to Asheville.

« Gets better every time!! »

We have been staying at this hotel for three years whenever we visit our grandchildren, who live close by. The biggest plus has always been their "pet-friendly" policy, so we can bring our Rusty when we travel. But, we are always impressed with the breakfast, new linens and friendly staff. The newly expanded breakfast area, and fireplace is very nice and clean. My grandson always loves the aquarium and lobby area. We are looking forward to many visits in the future. Thanks!!

« Good place to stay »

We stayed in one of the newer room located in the main building. Most of the rooms are on the outside entry. I would recommend the room with the hot tub. Its not that much more and great to relax in when walking all day at the Biltmore. We did not see many places to eat near here so I would eat before arriving.

« The Best Western of Asheville rocks with great beds and breakfast!!! »

The Hungry Detective and wife spent two nights at this property and absolutely loved it!!! No need to spend $300 a night at some swanky downtown Asheville location when you have this little gem. Great location and close to the Blue Ridge Parkway entrance. Close to everything and super clean!!! The property is immaculate and attention to detail is off the charts. Lots of updates and amenities!!! I would have enjoyed the pool if it was just a little warmer. VERDICT: Guilty of providing a great night of sleep and awesome breakfast!!! Look no further this is where you want to be...best value in Asheville!!! The staff goes above and beyond the call of duty with any request. ***Check out The Social right down the road...best local spot!!!

    « A hotel with a character of a motel »

I just passed by and asked whether or not a room is available. First, I wanted to stay two nights but the second night would have been twice the price for the same room (possibly because of the weekend). So I stayed for one night. The room was OK, everything clean, stone tiles in the bathroom and "kitchen" area which was kind of surprising because the exterior of the hotel was more similar to a regular motel (doors facing towards outside, flat long buildings, etc.) rather than a typical Best Western. Therefore, to me at last, the exterior did not really fit with the interior. ...at least concerning the equipment and fittings. On the other side, the lay-out of the room was essentially the same as in a regular motel. The breakfast was kind of basic. However, the staff was very nice, helpful and attentive. All in all, a pleasant stay although, to my opinion, slightly overprized. But I guess that is Asheville (generally speaking) and, indeed, it will cost you even more in the centre of the town. Good alternatives (with a less fancy interior, however) are further away of the city centre and parking in the town is actually cheap.

    4
« Not close to downtown »

quite a ways from downtown. We had a friend who lives there that picked us up and we toured downtown with him. Not to far from restaurant row on same road The price was very reasonable compared to other Asheville hotels. Good breakfast. Renovations in breakfast area did not effect service and staff apologized for work. Clean and comfortable and good wifi. Downtown is where the action is, but it will cost you a lot more to stay there.

    5
    « consistent excellence »

We have stayed at this property before, and there are very good reasons why we keep returning. Asheville is a frequent destination because our son lives and works in the city, and this location happens to be the most convenient for access to his place, to the restaurants that we like, and to the Parkway. The staff at this BW is superb -- attentive, professional, and thorough. The property is well -maintained and clean. The rooms are up to standard (and many are in the process of renovation and updating apparently, judging from the work going on, as per the clerk who checked us in. The breakfast dining area is undergoing an expansion, and the work is just about finished. Most motel breakfast areas are too cramped to accommodate guests at the busiest times, but it looks like the revamped dining area will easily prevent standing around waiting for a table to open up. No more space vultures. We've stayed at five different hotels in Asheville over the years, but this is easily the best. Congratulations to H.P. Patel for managing a great property.

    « Better than I expected! »

I needed a no-frills place to stay for a few nights while I did some research in Asheville and southern Tennessee. I booked this hotel primarily based on price and location. I was pleasantly surprised to discover the room was larger and cleaner than I'd expected, and I was delightfully impressed by the breakfast. Scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits & gravy, plus all the usual sweet stuff (waffles etc.) for people who like sugar for breakfast. The staff was also very friendly.

    5
« Good Value and Amenities in Asheville area »

Buildings are older motel style with drive up rooms from the outside. However the owners have put considerable effort into upgrading the rooms and amenities that brings this hotel up to a very high standard of comfort. Location is close to the mall and freeway, so downtown is a very easy drive. If you want value and are OK with not being downtown, then I would recommend this hotel for you.

    4
« Unexpected surprise at a Best Western »

Booked at Best Western because of price and location. Was pleasantly surprised that the entire hotel had undergone a complete renovation with excellent results. Breakfast was first class, staff helpful, and rooms very comfortable. The only negative is noise from the road - but that isn't even that bad. I will stay here again.

    4
    « Location »

The location was had to find and signage needs to be out where it can be seen a block away .........larger or higher! There are no restaurants that you can walk to and we had to drive a mile or two to get to something other than fast food.

    3
« ok, with a bit of effort could be very good, pet friendly hotel »

We thought the hotel would have been a bit better based on expectations of the reviews we had read. It is an older style traditional by the highway motel, with several buildings with two stories and back to back rooms. Our check in went relatively ok, prompt greeting, quick access to room but unfortunately our ground floor room further away from roadway was next to a room where the people were out but their dog wasn t and it barked a lot when we moved about in our room. So we asked for another room and we're given a second floor room facing the highway. The room was very similar to the other, probably identical. Recently refurbished with lots of charging plugs and plug ins. Nice touch. Room was clean with a strong bleach odor but it seemed to signal cleanliness versus covering or masking problems as room was in good condition except for a light which was not working as it was missing a knob. The hvac kept the room warm during to cold night. Unfortunately the road noise was quiet noticeable, which was too bad considering the effort they had gone thru to update things in the room. Better sound insulation would had made a big difference. Road noise did make for a less than perfect sleep. Can't fault the bed or pillows they were good. We found a large animal chew toy under the edge of our bed, which could have been the reason for the bleach odor in hindsight. But we will never know. Breakfast was ok. You do need a car to have access to shopping or restaurants. Would I stay again. They are updating the hotel and in my view it could become a good one with a few changes. Maybe if I had a room further away from the road and one which was not pet central. The desk person advised on both occasions about pet issues, was that people were not supposed to leave animals alone and on second, they weren't supposed to be in the second room but they can't check up them.

    « Very disappointing »

The staff at check in was rude and unhelpful. The room (with two queens) was very small. It's a large hotel and there is only one very, very slow elevator. It took forever to get hot water to shower or even wash your face. A very big disappointment.

    « Making Improvements »

we like Best Westerns because they accommodate our small dog. this one gave is a good sized room, quite quiet, and provided an adequate breakfast, all at a good rate. unfortunately, they failed to service our room one of our three night stay, but they did take 25% off that night's rate. My husband was sick and it was a difficult stay wnere we really needed new sheets, etc., but we managed. The other issue was that they were doing construction in the main building, but DURING breakfast! the noise was deafening. After this is over, I imagine the stay would be a lot more pleasant.

« Earns Stars for Location and Price »

Convenient location for anything happening in and around Asheville. Price is quite reasonable. Room was clean. Bed was comfortable. Had hair dryer, iron, refrig and microwave. Adequate breakfast, although the artificial eggs have NO flavor. Sink had poor water supply and we requested repair. One ugly colored brown wall should be repainted. (my opinion) Staff is friendly and helpful. We will return.

    4
« Great Stay for the Price »

The exterior of the hotel is a little sketchy looking. Hotel lobby is currently under renovation. Staff was pleasant. Room was exceptionally clean. Beds were a little firm for my liking, but that's a personal preference thing. Cheap Uber ride into the city, about $6-$7. There's really no need to stay downtown with Uber rides being that cheap and so readily available. For the price, I would definitely stay here again.

    2
    « Noisy »

Went to visit my daughter at school for the weekend. The room smelled from cigarette smoke so bad that my daughter had noticed it right away when I went to see her at school (I'm a non-smoker). I tried to change rooms but none were available. The Internet connection was poor and kept timing out. The biggest issue was that this was clearly a party hotel. I was up until 3:30 am because of the loud guests. I won't be so quick to return to this place.

    2
« Unsanitary conditions and very noisy »

Alerted staff a fellow had coughed (without covering mouth) on the exposed food of the breakfast buffet and they merely shrugged their shoulders. A couple came in afterward and staff did nothing. Room facing street extremely noisy from alot of road traffic and very loud fan noise from wall heating unit.

    3
    « Biltmore »

Do not forget anything in room such as a phone charger simple to do when plugged in wall out of site. Will charge to return it. We are staying a week in Best Western Washinton D.C. April hope not to forget anything of value.Other than that the stay was plesant.

    « A Rewarding Hotel Experience »

Upon our arrival, the front desk girls were incredibly friendly and helpful. The room we were assigned was #133 which had been recently renovated and was spectacular. Especially the new bathroom with new fixtures and lots of hand rails(I'm 70 )to help with getting in and out of the shower/tub. Your Wi-Fi worked perfectly as my wife and I each had a laptop with us. The breakfast area was large and comfortable and well organized. The breakfast buffet was very good and with plenty of choices. Your coffee was one of the I have tasted. Great job by every one in looking after our needs. Keep up the good work. I would recommend your Best Western, Asheville to all my friends and family. William J.

« Great stay, clean rooms »

It was a tad pricey for what we needed, but had rooms available and that was our main concern. It's an easy 5 minute drive to downtown. The rooms were CLEAN which is always our number 1 concern. Our room was recently renovated, with duvet covers instead of comforters which instantly made me forget about the extra money I paid. Cons: -Construction was happening in the room right next to us, so there was a lot of banging, saws and drills during the day, but we did not spend that much time in our room, mainly just to sleep at night, so it really didn't bother us. We also booked the day before and this was the last room available, so we took it. If you are expecting to spend daytime hours at the hotel - even weekends (they worked all day on Saturday and Sunday) - best ask for a room not next to one under renovation. -We could see daylight through our door around the frame, which didn't affect the temperature but certainly didn't help with any outside noise. -Breakfast was a nightmare, in what I'm guessing was a fully booked hotel. It took a while to get a complete breakfast because something would inevitably run out before you got to the end of the line. -Wi-fi was so weak, it was faster for me to use the 4G service on my phone. Good thing I didn't need a computer. Overall we were pleasantly surprised with this hotel and would definitely stay there again on our next trip to Asheville.

    « Great stay »

Great staff, room and breakfast. It is only five minutes to downtown Asheville, and just off I-240- the business loop of Asheville. We stayed here during the July 4th holiday, and the new upgrades are wonderful.

    « Exceeded our expectations »

We stopped in Asheville for one night on the way back from TN so just wanted to find somewhere decently priced close to downtown. We weren't expecting much but were pleasantly surprised. The best western was almost nicer than the place we spent 3 times as much money for in TN. They are dog friendly! Which was a huge plus and stress relief for us, since we had our husky with us. Very clean rooms, polite staff, and decent breakfast. And our uber ride from downtown was less that $10!

    4
    « Moving on Up »

We drove across county from Eureka CA to Asheville NC where we are moving. La Quinta does not charge a pet fee so we mostly stayed there. Their rooms are also higher quality. We have stayed at BW around the world and have generally been pleased.

    5
    « Great Value »

Extremely Clean. We have two small/medium dogs and it was easy to take the dogs out. The room was so clean! We were visiting family that live in the immediate area so it was so convenient to drive 2 minutes back and forth. It's also 5 minutes to downtown Asheville.

    5
    « Pets Welcome »

We were traveling with our small dog and have difficulty finding good hotel rooms that allow pets. Most of the Best Western chain allows pets and most are very nice and clean. This Best Western ranked very high with us since it was recently updated. It was an old style Motel but did not feel that way when in the room.

    4
    « Biltmore visit »

Found on trip advisor, it was everything that other reviews had stated. The bed was comfortable, it was very clean, easy enough to find, close to all kinds of restaurants and just a couple of miles from the Biltmore tour. Only reason I didn't give in a 5 rating was the entry door had gaps all the way around, you could see the light coming in not to mention the very cold air, thankfully it had a good heater, because baby it was cold outside.

    5
« Very nice place to stay »

My wife and I stayed here while traveling south. We enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was professional, helpful and friendly. Royce, during check in, recommended several local restaurants and we were happy with our choice. Even though the motel was full the evening we were there, we still had a quiet night and good sleep. This is a good place to stay.

    5
    « Reliable and Reasonable »

We've stayed at this particular Best Western many times over the years and always find it to be clean and comfortable. It's conveniently located to many places of interest in Asheville including downtown and some great trail running.

    3
    « A Disappointing Experience »

I would have to call this a mediocre motel experience. The room furnishings were updated, but nothing special. When we wanted a cold drink, we had to go hunting for a vending machine in another building, across the parking lot, because there were no vending machines in our building. The free breakfast was a big disappointment; there was nothing hot to eat except make-it-yourself waffles. They use the name "Biltmore" in the the motel name and use a picture of the Biltmore mansion on their key cards, brochures, etc., but, in fact, the famous Biltmore estate is miles away on the other side of town and has nothing whatsoever to do with this motel. Quite misleading, in my opinion.

    5
    « Comfortable and Convenient »

We had no complaints or problems here. The room was comfortable. Ask for a room facing the back or it might be noisy. The hotel was very easy to get to and convenient to downtown and the highway. Breakfast was fine.

  • 3
    « Very nice stay »

We were very happy with the room--stayed 2 nights. Note that it is a motel with outside access. We were able to park right in front of our room. Had to walk outside maybe 50 yards to the lobby and breakfast. Hot breakfast was a bit above average. Convenient to downtown and the Biltmore Estate.

    5
    « Visit to Asheville »

This motel is easy to find and close to everything. The motel was clean and well maintained. Great motel for dogs with their own area. Poop bags are provided. Breakfast was good and above average. Staff was very nice and helpful. We would stay there again

    « Tunnel Road »

Very fast and professional check in and check out. Hot breakfast was great, We got in very late and we were exhausted. The staff got us into our room without delays. The room was quiet and the king bed was better than comfortable. Friends have recommended this Tunnel Road location to us and we have recommended it to others.

    5
    « Perfect for us »

The price was extremely reasonable and everything about this property was way above average for hotels at this price-point. It's not a luxury hotel but I have stayed at luxury hotels where I didn't sleep as well. It was very quiet, partly no doubt because I requested and got a quiet room. Very clean, very comfortable. Very nice staff. Only caveat - the entrance it comes up suddenly off a busy road so be careful pulling in. Location is close to everything in Asheville. Really was perfect for us.

    5
    « Sanctuary »

I need a place to stay when visiting my son in Asheville. He lives with his son and a friend and they don't have room for me. This hotel has all the amenities I need for a two or three day stay. The room was immaculate upon arrival and the maid service perfect. There were outlets for all my devices, a reading chair and light, a microwave and fridge. Also an iron, ironing board and blow dryer. I have a small dog and there was plenty of pet friendly grass and clean-up bags. This will be my 'sanctuary' when I visit Asheville.

    4
    « Wonderful Dog-friendly motel »

I had distinct concerns about staying at a motel but it was the only reasonably priced hotel we could find that was pet friendly during our vacation dates. I was pleasantly surprised by how clean and comfortable our room was. We would definitely stay here again especially at the price was paid.

    3
    « Best Western/Expecting More »

This motel is recommended by AAA, but was a disappointment to us. The beds were comfortable with small accommodations opening to the street. Was ok for one night but pricey. Th breakfast was adequate with hot and cold choices. Also close to restaurants and the Biltmore Estates.

    4
« Great stay-but if you travel with pet... »

Make sure to read the pet policy BEFORE you get called in the middle of dinner telling you that your dog is barking and you are not to leave your pet unattended after 6pm. Clearly you cannot enjoy Asheville nightlife if you stay here with your pet-and there will always be somebody next to you that hates dogs (and peeks through their curtain waiting for you to get back). Other than that, we were pleasantly surprised at how nice the rooms were. Very clean, looks like they were maybe newly renovated? Guest services were had great attitudes and were very accommodating. It only took us about 5 min to get to the little town square area and is within a couple of miles from a 24 hour grocery store and right next door to a gas station where you can buy gas and wine for when you are finishing your nice dinner out of to go boxes ;)

    4
    « A quick overnight »

Hotel is located in East Asheville. Very convenient to shopping and restaurants but in a quiet setting. Rooms were recently updated and nicely appointed. Staff was very professional. Breakfast was decent. Eggs tasted like they were reconstituted but other foods were good. Internet was spotty in our room.

    5
    « excellent »

This hotel was a great choice and I would pick it again if I was in the area. It is close to all the restaurant and attraction, the hotel was clean the breakfast was great and filling. I could stay with my dog and was not charged the outrageous amount that other hotels charge for their stay.

« Stop over in Ashville »

Arrived in Ashville enroute to a business meeting the next day at Ridgecrest Conference Center nearby, choose to stay at the Best Western Ashville and visit the Billy Graham Training Center The Cove the next morning before heading to our conference. Very personable and friendly staff, comfortable room, near freeway, but not noisy. Close to shopping, food and interesting sights such as The Cove and the Biltmore Estates. Would definitely stay there again if in the area.

    5
    « Great »

Everything was very nice and I would stay again on my next in this area. The location was a bit confusing because of the direction of travel, but easy to recover with the help of the on board navigation system.

    4
    « Pet Policy »

The price per pet is $10 but we found their pet policy to be not extremely accommodating. You can leave your pets in the room if they are crated up until 6 pm. After 6 pm, you cannot leave pets in the room unattended (even in crates). I assume this is because of barking. Fortunately, the weather was cool enough, we could take our dogs with us and leave in the car while we ate dinner. The pet walk area was nice with baggies and a trash can for disposal.

    4
    « Quick get away »

My husband and I did a quick get away to visit the Biltmore. We were pleasantly surprised with the updated rooms and how clean everything was. This is an older property but very well maintained. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. We will stay again soon I hope!!

    5
« "Perfect" Describes Our Experience! »

Everything was absolutely perfect from check-in to check-out. This is an older property that has been nicely updated. We could not find one thing wrong with our room, the property or the staff. There was no problem connecting to wi-fi and using it in our room. We stayed in room 214 located on the back of a side building overlooking a wooded area. The room does have an exterior door that posed no problem for is. The room has been completely updated from top to bottom. It is large, quiet, clean and has a comfortable king bed. The sink with a granite counter top and under counter storage is conveniently located outside the bathroom. The bathroom is roomy with a nice shower head and great water pressure. The ac/heat unit was quiet and efficiently warmed the room. There is a nice size refrigerator and microwave. The location of the hotel is perfect for visiting the popular Asheville sights! We have stayed at three different major hotel chains when visiting Asheville but have never stayed at this Best Western. We chose to stay at Best Western this trip because we had points for a room. We are so glad we did! This property is just as nice or nicer than the other hotels we have stayed at on past visits and is a much better value! Having stayed at various Best Western properties around the U.S. we can agree with a previous reviewer that this is definitely a "Best Western Gem". We are Biltmore annual pass holders and will visit Asheville often over the next year. We will stay here again on our future Asheville visits!

My husband and I stayed at this hotel while visiting the Biltmore. Great property... Very clean, seemed recently renovated and the beds were very comfortable. Check in was very easy and the young lady very sweet. Not to be ignored. Great value!! Beth, St Petersburg, Florida

    « A Day in Ashville »

Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean and comfortable room. Arrived in the early evening, with check-in for my business meeting not until 5 the next day. Good location to see a few local sights in and around Ashville, close to freeway but not right on it. Visited the The Cove, Billy Graham Training Center and the Biltmore Estate while in the area. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

    « I reccomend a stay here »

The rooms are nice and big, the bathroom has been renovated. The breakfast is more than continental, and they had 2 staff constantly resupplying the stations. The noise level is minimal and the beds are comfortable. There is a room safe, iron and ironing board. Everything was spotless!

    « vacation to biltmore »

Was very convenient, close to Biltmore house, clean, heat worked great, the back side of the hotel would probably be better, less noise, big variety at breakfast, staff friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again, many restaurants and shopping nearby too.

« Nice hotel, but iPad missing »

I have stayed at the Best Western of Asheville Biltmore East several times. The facility is clean and comfortable. I particularly like that dogs are allowed. The last time I stayed I left my iPad on the nightstand. When I discovered what I had done, I called to inquire after it. I was told the Housekeeping staff had left, but would call me first thing in the morning. After two more calls the morning, I got a call back in mid-afternoon. I was told it was not found. I called the Best Western again and left message with the Manager. I got a return call the next afternoon from an assistant manager ? I think. She said the person who cleaned my room said there was no iPad in the room. She said the person has worked for them for several years and there have been no past complaints. I told her I know I didn't pack it--I carried soft luggage that was currently folded. It is possible that I tossed it in my truck but I searched it thoroughly and did not find it. As I was traveling with my 80-pound black shepherd mix, who stayed in the truck the next day (it was a dull day for him :(, it seems unlikely someone swiped it out of the truck. She said she'd investigate further and let me know if anything turned up. So what happened to my iPad? I don't know. I only know I do not have it and the last time I saw it was on the nightstand in my room at the Best Western.

    « Day Trip »

Hotel was clean and staff was pleasant. We were lucky to get a interior room. Majority of hotel has exterior rooms, which I do not prefer. However, we were able to upgrade to the interior rooms, which made me feel safe. Was very pleased that we could upgrade room because of availability. No concerns.

« Looks can be deceiving »

I was looking for a less expensive place to stay in Asheville and checked in to the Best Western Biltmore East. My first impression was that it was a bit of a scary place. It had outdoor corridors and poor lighting at sunset. It felt more like a motel than a hotel. But the room I had was quite spacious and clean. The furnishings were a mixture of older and newer, but everything was in good repair. The breakfast buffet was actually quite good for a mid-level restaurant and was served in a well-appointed area just off the small lobby. When I came back from dinner, I noticed that the hotel looked much nicer, and I realized that they had turned the exterior lights on. This made a big difference. Overall, a decent hotel, and a more affordable option for those just passing through in Asheville.

    « Wheelchair accessibility »

This Best Western is very handicapped accessible. Room and bathroom had lots of space to maneuver a wheelchair easily. Comfortable bed. Electrical socket and charger on night stand reachable for wheelchair bound person. Ramps easily negotiable, doors and access roomy. Excellent breakfast. Helpful, friendly staff. Pet friendly

« Newly renovated, comfortable and clean! »

We stayed for 3 nights. We requested a quiet room so we had a room at the rear of the property which was nice and quiet. The room was clean and comfortable and had been recently renovated. It was nicely decorated. The shower provided plenty of hot water. The breakfast buffet was included in the price of the room. The quality and selection was very good...much better than most hotels offer. The entrance to the hotel is located near a busy interchange from the interstate so when the traffic is busy it was sometimes tricky turning into or out of the property. The only issue we had was that the WIFI signal was not very strong in our room. It worked best when you were close to the main office and breakfast area.

« Visit to Ashville, NC to see Biltmore Estate »

It is very easy to find the Motel from the Interstate and is close to the major attractions of Biltmore Estate, Biltmore Village, and downtown Ashville's galleries and restaurant. The parking was convenient and plentiful. The breakfast bar was good and had nice variety including make your own waffle along with the normal items like eggs, cold cereal, yogurt, and pastries. We were travelling with our dog and this motel was very pet friendly. Would stay again.

    « Highly recommend »

This motel was a good choice. It had clean rooms, friendly staff, soft bed, modern room. The breakfast was good and included scrambled eggs, sausage, yogurt, as well as waffles, bagels, biscuits, gravy, etc.

    5
    « excellent choice »

This motel was an excellent choice for me. It was clean throughout. The bed was comfortable and everything was up to date. A refrigerator and microwave were in the room. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast had freshly scrambled eggs, as well as waffles, cereal, yogurt, etc. I highly recommend this motel.

    « Top notch »

We had concerns when booking our stay because of my 91-year-old mother-in-law, who is physically impaired. In fact, she fell at her home the morning of our trip. We needed first floor connecting rooms, and hotel chains do not guarantee such a request. But when we arrived, we did have the accommodations requested, and the bathrooms had suitable accommodations (handrails in the shower) for her. The hotel was outstanding -- clean, well kept-up, comfortable beds, and an extraordinary staff that was remarkably efficient. The property was spotless inside and out.

« Best Western Asheville (Tunnel Road) »

Very clean and nice hotel. Our family normally stays in a Hampton Inn, but decided to try this Best Western out because it looked very nice. We were not disappointed! Breakfast was good each morning and room was nice. We especially liked the cleaned remote! Fish tank in check in area was nice and overall the hotel was worth the money spent.

    « Don't judge a book by its cover »

First time ever staying on a best western, the out side looks outdated but the rooms were very nice with a lot of space n very clean. The reception area was welcoming and the staff very professional. The perk of free full breakfast was excellent. I will go back to this place again. ..

    « Newly remodeled!! »

We have stayed in several Best Westerns on recent travel and I can just not say enough about all of them. They seem to all have gone through remodeling and have greatly improved. This hotel in particular was all new on the inside, friendly staff, clean and our room was very spacious. We had just come from staying in a boutique hotel in Savannah and this room was larger and more comfortable. And yes tons cheaper. Granted different local and no view, but had nice amenities and just what we needed for the night, but would be comfortable for longer. Highly recommend.

« Nice comfy and close to everything! »

Friendly hotel staff, clean rooms, nice hot breakfast and very close to everything! We came up for a girls weekend to shop and tour Biltmore. We were very surprised how close we were to everything. Would definitely stay here again.

. On my checkout day of 11/18/2015, I went to get the comp breakfast at 930.I returned to my room at roughly 1015 only to find my door open, which was an uncomfortable surprise. I start to pack up and notice my laptop is missing. I turn the room upside down looking for it only to find nothing. I go to the front desk and I am met with an attitude that keeps telling me it could not have been the house cleaning staff. She tells me there is nothing that can be done. I was lied to, ignored, and robbed by this hotel.....and I PAID for them to do this to me. They would not look at security cameras for me, and it is not until 50 minutes AFTER I leave on my drive back home to Raleigh NC, that I get a call from the same front desk clerk saying that I can come back and file a police report if I'd like to. The manager did not attempt to speak to me at all. They only relayed messages through the front desk girl.

« Our Very Favorite BW in the whole country »

Thnk CHEERS when Norm or Cliff walks in: everybody knows your name. Well, actually, I don't know about the NAME, but the long-time employees here recognize our faces when we walk into the lobby. They've made changes to this location over the years. While I miss the train and the black bear in the honey-tree sculpture, I do like the changes. And they LISTEN! The rooms are clean, the beds comfortable. If you need something done in your room, it is done quickly and efficiently. They will give honest recommendations about places to go for meals and entertainment when asked. Like I said, our very favorite BW in the whole country

What a fantastic way to enjoy the beautiful outdoors, the cultural events, and the uniqueness of Asheville - at the Best Western and even better, if you join the Best Western Reward Points you may be able to get a complimentary night! What an exceptional deal to stay in this comfortable hotel with the delicious breakfast and caring staff.

    « Nice motel »

Found this motel in one of the booklets at a rest stop. Usually try to stay at Best Westerns when on the road. This one was exceptional. Appeared to be recently renovated. Our room was clean and the bed comfortable. It is located right off of the highway and in close proximity of restaurants. Would stay here again.

« Great renovation of an existing motel property. »

We really liked the easy of parking directly in front of our room and the outside entrance to our room. The room we had was dog friendly for our 12# Dachshund's pleasure. She's better in a room than most children and people The entire property has been very nicely remodeled and renewed. Breakfast was good in the morning too.

Stayed at this hotel on Saturday and Sunday night. Bed was uncomfortable, pillows lumpy -- bring your own pillows if you're picky! The noise was awful both nights. Extremely loud guests on Saturday night, 4-5 guys who were so drunk they were banging their doors open and a few of them were passed out on the balcony outside their doors. Needless to say...I'm glad we had our pistol because I was nervous as to what these guys were doing. We alerted hotel staff, in my opinion these guys should've been kicked out immediately or the police called -- it was seriously that bad. Will not be staying here again...EVER!!!

    « Great location »

This BW location is easy to get to and easy access to the places you want to see. take your time in this area. Give your self an extra day or two to explor. I know it takes longer to drive the Blue Ridge Parkway but well worth it. Also Chimney Rock state park another great stop and again take your time.

« Lost a star due to price »

Okay, it's leaf season I get that BUT I was going to Asheville for a funeral. It was absolutely ridiculous trying to find a hotel in Asheville in November! Most hotels were sold out or priced high enough to make you swallow your tongue. The Holiday Inn I normally stay at was over $200! As it is this Best Western, an exterior corridor hotel with exposed steps to the second level of each building was the MOST EXPENSIVE HOTEL I HAVE EVER STAYED AT and I travel a lot. A Non-Smoking 2 bed room with tax included was $172.88 a night. Yes you read that right. I could have stayed somewhere else for less but I would have been risking my life and/or health. Other than price I have nothing really negative to say. It was clean, relatively comfortable (my bed was much too hard but the sheets were great) and convenient. There was a well appointed hot breakfast that was well attended. The "dining" area is a bit cramped so if you're claustrophobic get there early before the rush hits. If this hotel had been priced noramly, outside of the November/December madness, then I would happily give it four stars and my highest recommendations. But it really bugs me that this hotel charges so much now and then in January drops back down to $76 a night.

    « Clean and Convenient »

Took us about 15 minutes to get to the Biltmore from this location. Very clean, quiet even with it being right off the road. Good food for a free breakfast. Friendly and good service. Great price and a very good location.

    « Great hotel! »

Its been MANY years since I stayed at a Best Western.. as they were always the cheaper .. run down ones from what I remembered. I got a room with a Jacuzzi for 2.. and paid $125.00.. not bad for the area and what I wanted. The hotel was AMAZING!.. soo modern and updated from what I remembered them as being. The lobby was almost that of a 5 star hotel .. or even of a higher end Marriott. The rooms were beautiful, very up to date, modern and cozy.. the Jacuzzi was super... ALL in all... it was a great overnight experience, got a great deal! They have a new loyal customer!! The only thing I would change.. is instead of a desk, maybe a small table for two to eat at...

« Clean, Comfortable, and Good Value »

For a Best Western in the USA, this was definitely better maintained and keep than most I have stayed in over the years. The rooms have been updated and were clean. Bathrooms had been updated nicely, and the bed was fine. HVAC unit for the room worked well. Exterior of the property has been maintained (pool was closed for the winter when we stayed there). The lobby breakfast area was well laid out, clean and the food selection had many other options aside from the standard eggs, breakfast meat and potato that most offer: Cooked Oatmeal, Granola, 4 other dry Cereals, Yogurt, Bananas, Apples, etc. In room free Wi-Fi worked well, and the easy parking, central location was all good. Compared to many of the other similarly priced properties we drove by during out 4 night stay, this one seemed to be the best kept one, and was pretty full each night - a good sign! While I would not consider this property to be 'romantic', it more than does the job after a day of sightseeing in this beautiful part of the USA!

« OVER $200 A NIGHT WITH TAXES FOR AVERAGE STAY »

the things that I did not like--- outside open stairwells, the light and the exhaust fan in the bathroom worked together with the one switch. You could not turn on the light in the bathroom without the exhaust fan coming on and it was VERY loud. By "bedtime" the parking lot was jammed. Got back to room at 10:30 and got the last parking space on the lot and was no where near my room. EXCELLENT- breakfast, cleanliness, service, pillows. Bed was a little firm for my taste.

    3
    « Watch your rates »

Hotel was acceptable. The breakfast was great... waffles and other items. Watch your rates CAREFULLY !!!! I was TOTALLY surprised when the rate changed from $99 the first night to $189 the second... did not realize until checkout... I think this is VERY poor policy. The original rate represented a good value for the money, but $189 - WAY over priced.

    3
    « Old Style »

The property is the old style where each room is accessed by its own door from the parking lot. It appeared to be recently repainted both inside and outside. The location is convenient to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Our room was clean and spacious. More lighting would be an improvement. Our room was on the backside of the building facing a large hill. It was very quiet. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was average. There are no dining choices within walking distance. Rating wise, it's better than a 3, not quite a 4. We would stay here again.

    2
« Room was not as advertised »

We made the reservation online and the room with clear double room, double bed. We, as well as everyone we show the reservation to felt that this meant two rooms connecting. Even the front desk staff acknowledge the problem but said that booking.com was not affiliated with them. To which we replied that you were affiliated enough to take a reservation from them. In the end we had to book another room. When had the reservation been as stated we would have known and could have gotten a better rate on hotwire.com in a cleaner hotel. The room was clean and looked nice, they had a good breakfast. However the outside of the hotel is still outdated.

« Great location and a very clean »

We got a great deal on this very clean room which had been recently renovated. Breakfast had biscuits and gravy, sausage, eggs, etc. Very comfy pillows and bed. It was slightly noisy in the early am as the door are on the outside (motel).

    « First class establishment »

Recently remodeled, very large room, free Wi-Fi, comfortable beds, very clean, quiet. Multiple electrical outlets by the bed (including USB) a very nice touch for computer geeks. Breakfast was extensive and beautifully presented and was ready to go before 6:00 (advertised). Nice location on Tunnel Road right off the 240 surrounded by a ton of restaurants which will satisfy any taste. Also 2 miles from the VA Hospital. AND, less than $100.

    3
    « Overpriced area »

Clean room, but very basic and not very roomy. This room was outrageously overpriced for a Best Western in my opinion. Very noisy with an exterior facing room. We could hear people talking outside at night. We were awakened at midnight by people talking. We were awakened at 5am by people closing their room doors and car doors and cranking their automobiles. We will stay in hotels with interior rooms in the future. Mattress was fairly comfortable. We were just not happy that you could hear absolutely everything outside the room and did not sleep well.

    4
    « Clean Comfortable Room »

It was a clean comfortable room. Location was close to the hospital and just around the corner from several good restaurants. The hot breakfast at the hotel had about every breakfast food - real good. The tables were a little close to the serving line but the food was good. The Wi-Fi quit working in the middle of a website I was using on my lap top so I had to use the computer in the hotel lobby. Don't know what the problem was.

    5
    « nice reasonably quiet »

this was very easy to find coming off the blueridge parkway and extremely close to gas stations and eateries. the arrows driving around the lot are a bit confising, but all together, this was a very nice experience.

    « Below par »

I did not start off well, waited from 8:10 to 8:20 pm for a person to check me in, no apology, just what can I do for you. Checkout not much better. I'm a BW supporter but this place was disappointing. I could hear next door tv, thin walls. I plugged my computer into desk lamp, turns out it didn't work. Breakfast room tight with subpar food. No fitness center. It was clean and bed comfortable, but couch was hard as a rock. No restaurants within walking distance.

    « BestWestern Ashville Biltmore »

We couldn't find a motel in Rocky Mtn, probably very expensive. We headed down Tunnel Rd and the Best Western looked nice. We were pleasantly surprised that the discounted price of the remaining Jacuzzi rooms were well within any budget. It was very clean with brand new-like faucets, well lit outdoors and close to restaurants, highways, and shopping.

    4
    « A Comfortable Stay »

We chose this location because of the close proximity to the Blue Ridge Parkway. We had a clean room with a clean, comfortable bed and a clean bathroom. There were several choices for restaurants within a mile or so from the hotel. We were pleasantly surprised with how quiet this location was but never heard a lot of banging doors or loud neighbors. All in all, it was a comfortable stay and would come back if we are ever in the area again.

It's your average hotel; a few rooms inside off the lobby, but the majority have outside access. Nice staff, clean rooms. Other than little things (knob missing on the stand-up lamp and not near an electrical outlet) it was very average.

This hotel is conveniently located right off Tunnel Road and is about 4 miles from Downtown. The hotel was clean and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was crowded but good; hot breakfast with a variety of cereal, fruit, yogurt, and pastries. The staff was nice and welcoming. There is a gas station and a Sonic nearby for convenience. You can purchase 2-day passes to the Biltmore Estate at this hotel for $60 pp. I recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Asheville.

    « A great location at a reasonable price. »

From the hotel the drive into Downtown was straight along Tunnel Road. To Biltmore the hotel has printed out directions which are simple to follow. As we were staying for only two days and wanted to visit Biltmore and spend some time in the town this was just perfect for us. A good sized room recently redecorated with two comfortable queen beds it supplied everything we required for a pleasant stay. The only problem with our room was that it had a locked access door to our neighbours who had come with other people who joined them until midnight; they were very loud! The second night was quiet and we had a great full nights sleep. The staff were business like, efficient and polite. Good breakfasts with a wide selection, we enjoyed the scrambled eggs.

This was my second stay here and both have been just about perfect. I was a little worried about internet access - I'm taking online classes and an assignment was due the night I needed to stay here. I couldn't remember from my last stay whether it was offered and the corporate website doesnt' immediately list wi-fi as one of the amenities but when I dug into the small print it was there. Everything worked outstandingly, the internet was fast, never broke contact and I was able to turn in my assignment on time. I slept well, ate a great breakfast, had a hot shower and was on my way. - couldn't ask for anything more. I really like this hotel - I'm sure I'll stay here many times in the future.
