Excellent service!! Cannot say enough about this hotel. The morning clerk Saul took 30 minutes out of his busy time to help me find my Best Western rewards number as I had changed email addresses. He did not have e to do this. Definitely an asset to Best Western
I called the hotel to get a ground floor room because of knee issue and the person I spoke to, found a way to switch my room. I can't remember her name, but she was amazing. So very helpful. We have stayed here before and have always been happy. Always clean.
Esther greeted us at the front desk. She was welcoming and extremely helpful in getting us set up in the room we wanted. Really enjoyed the room setup w/separated sitting area with ample seating and table tops. Also appreciated the sliding glass door to an outside sitting area set up w/table and chairs.
Very clean, well-maintained facility. Room was spacious with 4 adults sharing one room comfortably. There was a full bathroom, and then a second sink and mirror outside of the bathroom so everyone could get up and get ready to go at the same time. Breakfasts listed as continental, but they also offered biscuits and sausage gravy, and the wonderful waffle makers. Unfortunately, cereal, fruit, and boiled eggs was the only gluten and milk free options. They did provide almond milk. There is only one designated disable parking spot, and it is on the part of the driveway, halfway up a hill on at the base of stairs. That location was a little confusing. However, the rest of the parking around the building, is on flat ground with no stairs at the entrance. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Was pricey. Would not have been able to do the trip if I was traveling alone. It took 4 people to pay for the room.
The customer service at front desk was amazing! They were very professional, friendly, helpful, and efficient. The lobby was extremely clean, and breakfast was great! Lots of breakfast choices and well stocked. The room was very clean and comfortable. I will most defiantly stay there again when visiting that area. Thank you!
We are avid bestwesten customers & this hotel rates the best in all aspects. Kim & Ester at the front desk go to lengths to accommodate your preferences in rooms. All staff are friendly & offer assistance with a smile. The rooms are clean & well appointed.
Lovely spacious room, tastefully furnished and extremely clean. Very comfortable bed and pleasant helpful, happy staff. A simple continental style breakfast was included in the very reasonable price, and there was a fair selection of items though not to my taste. Angels Camp is a lovely little town as well. We were very fortunate to have happened upon this by chance.
The room was large I especially liked the sofa in the room and the balcony. It was quiet and comfortable. A/C worked great! I would recommend this hotel to anyone and the price is also reasonable for California. It made my travel for business better.
Stayed here multiple times for work. Nice quiet hotel in between Sonora and pioneer so it makes it a bit easy to travel to any of those 2 towns Very nice staff at the checking in area. Decent breakfast as well Dollar general is right next door!!!
Great facility, clean rooms, great breakfast, safe environment, great friendly staff, nice pool. Stopping through town for an event and would highly recommend this place. I was very please at how clean they were as well. Very nice environment!
Great place for a stay. Cassandra was amazingly helpful when I checked in, by doing her best to meet my needs for my stay. Room was clean and comfortable, shower was great, water pressure really good and all of the standard amenities worked perfectly. I received a number of text making sure all was good which out of the norm for a seasoned constant traveler and truly appreciated. There is only one ding I can give this property, awkward Handicap Parking locations and stairs only. If you have a plate or placard make sure they know that when making your reservation to keep from having to change for 2nd to first floor if needed. As for parking there are three blue spots total. BUT there is ample regular parking close to doors. Fine for me but a fellow traveler struggled a bit with stairs and lack of blue box spaces. I didn't explore the breakfast since I was off property every day before it opened so I can't address this. Take Aways +Great staff +Clean rooms and property +Fantastic water pressure in my shower +Fridge, microwave and TV great - Handicap parking could be better - Stairs only DKH
Nice, clean and comfortable. The pool was great and our grandson enjoyed the fitness center. The breakfast had more variety than most places. We would go back if we are in the area. TripAdvisor-this the best I can do for a review. My last review did't mention a minimum characters requirement and it was shorter.
We stopped in to this best western very last minute, around 9pm. The front desk woman had wonderful customer service, was welcoming and very helpful. She got us a room quickly and seamlessly. The room was very clean, new laminate wood put down, clean rugs. Continental breakfast was good with a lot of options! Recommend this hotel for anyone looking somewhere to stay in the area!
The room and dining area pleasant and very clean. Very friendly and helpful staff. A broad range of breakfast foods. Beds were very comfortable. Very close to the areas of interest. We will definitely return and recommend this hotel to others.
Myself, my daughter and 2 grandkids stayed two nights. We had plenty of space. We enjoyed the pool and breakfast. The location is easy to get to and felt very safe. I would stay again. The staff was extremely nice and helpful.
This is truly a jewel of a motel. The rooms are super comfortable and immaculately clean. The pool is fun and also well cared for. The front desk staff is extremely helpful and responsive to any request. This is our second time and we will most likely be coming back again next year
Good location. Within walking distance to a little market if you need a snack. Room was clean. Staff very pleasant. Next time I want a balcony room.
This is a great hotel! Staff are friendly, rooms are clean, comfortable & quiet. There's a fire near by & power is out. The hotel I booked at would not check me in. I went to BW & they manually booked me a room. No power, but I got a shower & a bed w/ continental breakfast. Thank you for coming thru for me.
The young woman at the desk is always so pleasant...the rooms are always.nice...its a comfortable place to be. Only one suggestion is to change up the breakfast menu periodically.. Overall excellent and definitely one of the nicer Best Western .thanks for asking
My husband and I needed a last minute room for the night, we called ahead and the front desk clerk handled everything so quickly over the phone to get us set up for arrival. We were given a room away from others, and we were so grateful as we truly needed a quiet night's sleep. The hot tub was clean and warm, although we would have preferred a bit hotter. There were some kids enjoying the pool, and that also looked clean and nice although I didn't go in myself. There was a vending machine room, and also a guest laundry room! I didn't use them myself, but it was nice to see such amenities available! There was a continental breakfast available, and the menu looked great! We cut out early and didn't eat with the hotel, but we could really tell from the cleanliness of the room and pool, to the courtesy of the staff, that this hotel is well run and cared for. Thank you for the hospitality and quiet night's rest. The room was exceptionally clean, the bathroom and shower/tub combo also clean; and the grounds were pleasant to walk through. For a quiet and quaint night's stay, this is a great place!!
Cedar Inn is a great place to stay, we stay every year and it's always perfect, from the accommodations to the nice breakfast offered!
Floor was really cool where I stayed. Room was very spacious and clean. Staff was helpful and breakfast was very good. Parking was a little tight and there was a bunch of bikers on the back parking lot. Someone brought in weed and it got very smelly in the hallway. The staff was very receptive and the problem went away.
The room was clean and conveniently located near several attractions in the area. Great Italian food down the street, too. Staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent! The bed wasn't the softest but it was adequate. Nice rooms.
Great location for visiting Murphy's and Big Trees. Rooms and property were very clean. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The room looked freshly painted and the furnishings were in good condition. Everything was very quiet and peaceful. Nice selection of breakfast foods including almond milk.
Beds were clean and comfortable. Guest services were kind friendly and informative of things to do in the area ! We really like this one .. we found near by adventure and the hotel was clean and accommodating .. we appreciate all their hard work shows
This hotel is a real gem! The rooms and grounds are immaculate and well maintained. The pool and workout room are very clean. The staff are helpful and friendly. Breakfast includes many items to choose from. There are many parking spaces available. I highly recommend this hotel.
Rooms are clean. Good paint, furniture was not beat up. Nice flooring and lots of tv channels. Good secure rooms. Plenty of choice for breakfast. I would recommend and I will stay again.
Front desk saved our night securing a room over the phone last minute. We were driving like the blind at this point. Jennifer was sweet, welcoming and kind when we checked in. Really helped finished our crazy day on a great note. And the Best Western room and breakfast was perfect!
I found the staff amazingly friendly and accommodating. I had a very minor problem with our room and Maintenance Tech, Ricky, was there in less than 5 minutes to fix the issue. Room and grounds were very clean and towels were amazingly soft and fluffy. Large and tasty breakfast was provided with a great selection. We will definitely be back if we're in the area again.
The room was exceptionally clean and the temperature was set perfectly. I really enjoyed the size and layout of the suite - I was traveling with a 6 year old and that extra space gave her plenty of space to play. The breakfast options were lovely. My granddaughter LOVED the Belgian waffles. The grounds were quiet. E spent three nights and travelled easily to and from Spicer, Dorrington, Arnold and Murphys. I would stay again.
The front desk lady was very, very nice. She also gave us a wonderful recommendation on visiting Columbia State Park and Big Trees. Thank you!! Also, the rooms were really clean and we liked that there wasn't carpet. We liked how there was 2 sinks, and we also loved how the housekeeping folded the tissue into cute fans. Lastly, the breakfast had a really good amd large selection. Would stay here again. 5 STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Very comfortable room, clean sheets and plenty of towels. Breakfast was also provided in the morning and simple breakfast options but everything was fresh and very good. The employees weee very nice, curtious and helpful whenever I needed something.
The room was very clean. Front desk very helpful (Esther). I've stayed here several times and never been disappointed. I will continue to stay here whenever I need to. Only thing better could have dog friendly rooms available occasionally.
Everybody was extremely helpful, as I had messed up on making a reservation, so I contact them. They were able to help me change and make a new reservation for the correct date. I appreciated their help made our trip that much more enjoyable. We'll be back!
The suite was actually more spacious than anticipated. Breakfast selection was also great for my very selective children. Staff was also very courteous from check in to check out. Will definitely stay again. See you in a couple of month, spring time!
Loved our stay. We could open the windows for fresh air. There are no carpets in the room. The hotel is very clean, and well maintained ,very friendly staff. Heated outdoor pool, heated spa. Will come back. Thank you!
Great little motel in central Angels Camp. Very clean and great comp breakfasts. Nice pool, easy and plenty of parking. Close to Greenhorn Creek golf resort. Close to Murphys. Shopping is just a few minutes away. Will definitely be back again.
This is a very comfortable and clean hotel. My bed was just right. The central heating unit was comfortable. I enjoyed watching shows on the TV. The hotel staff checks in to see how your stay is. I appreciated that. I'd highly recommend this hotel if you're visiting Calaveras Big Trees or anywhere else in the area. It was a good night sleep.
Spent one night at Angels Camp before heading to CA-4. They did a good job making this stay comfortable and feel at-home. Started check-in process early in the morning and received room ready message around 1pm so we decided to check in early. Check in was fast. Spacious and clean 2-bedroom suite for a family of 5. Requested a crib for baby and it arrived in no time. The staff was responsive to requests. Next door are Save Mart and Shiro Ninja for fresh Sashimi, Sushi and supplies. We were able to rest well and head for Lake Alpine Sno-Park and Bear Valley Ski Resort the next day. Will stay here again.
This is a newer Best Western and is a very attractive property. They had a decent but small fitness center and a washer and dryer. The breakfast was excellent and free. The staff went out of their way to help me with any questions or needs. Pretty good, I think!
Unfortunately I was in the area for a divorce hearing that ran 3.5 hours and was highly stressful. I was supposed to check out at 11 and they extended it for me via text, at no additional cost. I couldn't believe it and was so very thankful. Amazing Staff, Clean and Very Quiet!!! Hands down they will be the first hotel I'll stay at should I be in the area again, and definitely will refer this hotel to family and friends. Thank you for making a very difficult day much easier.
Very convenient location for the places we wanted to visit; large room. We enjoyed the pool late afternoon after we checked in; water was a bit chilly but got used to it!! Only the 2 of us and 1 other person using the pool. Had a great dinner at a restaurant at the golf course approximately 2 miles away from hotel.
Really wonderful people work here! They were all so warm and friendly with me and my 10 and 3yo, who were both crazy AND tired from a long day of traveling and sightseeing. The room was very clean and a great size for us. We slept really well as it was quiet and the temperature settings were easy to adjust. The morning breakfast was really nice with make your own waffles with several topping options which my kids absolutely loved. So many choices including Udi's GF bagels and almond milk. We were sad we only stayed one night. Can't wait to stay here again. The wonderful woman (Akia??) who checked me in was so nice and the morning staff were just as wonderful. They made our stay really memorable.
Kudos to Esther at the front desk for being such a terrific and knowledgeable host. This Best Western is also a cut above most with comfortable, quiet, and nicely renovated rooms. Typical breakfast offerings for this chain. Highly recommended.
We were very impressed by the clean rooms and wide variety of breakfast choices. The kids loved the pool and spa then walking to pizza about a block away. The staff was very helpful and friendly especially with our children
Best stay at a chain hotel ever, the room was amazing the staff very friendly, We had a suite that overlooked the pool and had a balcony. it was so refreshing to wake up and have coffee outside and feel the sun as it came up. The amenities were fantastic and breakfast was perfect for us, not a full bacon and eggs put a nice selection of healthy morning starts. We will be back to this Hotel and Room.
Cozy beds and clean room. We enjoyed the pool and the breakfast! We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again. Friendly staff at front desk helped us when we needed help. Thankful for a safe place to stay with family!
Awesome room clean nice fairly close to a lot of exploring outdoors and front desk was awesome breakfast was good pool was nice bed was comfortabley firm and mini fridge worked awesomely aswell as microwave
Best western was great! Clean and newly remodeled and right next to restaurants and groceries. Free breakfast in the morning just adds to the wonderful experience. The Ironstone Vineyard is less than 5 miles…The pillows are to die for!
Upon deciding to follow a Southern CA Mother Lode road trip we stayed here for 4 nights and it was perfect! It's centrally located to all the main tourist attractions where we would visit 2 per day and still leave plenty of pool time. The pool area was very clean. The staff provided excellent service from the moment we checked in until departure time. Our room was huge and beautifully decorated. The king bed was very comfortable. There was essentially 2 separate bathrooms areas as well. The main bathroom had a very large jacuzzi tub. And we only had to walk out the door and the pool was right there. We pretty much had the pool to ourselves the entire time we were there. Plenty of parking and quiet. The breakfast was more than sufficient to get us going for our excursions everyday. Every employee we passed were so friendly and the hotel would text me everyday to make sure everything was fine. Excellent service. I highly recommend this hotel for couples and families.
I very much enjoyed my stay at the Best Western Cedar Inn and Suites in Angels Camp. My room was comfortable and quiet and I was able to get a good night's sleep. Suites have balconies. The hotel and pool are are well maintained and clean. Breakfast included waffles, yogurt, cereal and other items. All staff that I encountered were friendly and welcoming.
Esther (sp?) and Kim were very helpful and extremely friendly. The young woman on the night shift had the coffee and breakfast ready by 5:30 and was very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and we had an excellent stay.
Esther at the front desk went above and beyond helping our group. We were able to upgrade to mini-suites, which were lovely. I never understand why hotels have tiny garbage cans. I'm happy to put my trash in one place if you provide a place to collect.
I travel for personal reasons every three (3) months and have, and now always WILL, stay at Best Western Cedar Inn in Angels Camp, CA. Miss Kim at the front desk is always smiling, welcoming and each one of my *special requests while booking with the app. have been fulfilled. These things include extra pillows, extra towels and a ground floor room (I have mobility trouble but not to the extent that I'd request a handicap accessible room with good conscience - a truly disabled person should have those). Spur of the moment requests to show me how to unlock the sliding door and help with the television were immediately taken care of. The breakfast buffet is amazing, the rooms and linens, refrigerator and floors are spotless. Each person you come into contact with is smiling, will engage in conversation, and leave you to your privacy with the flip of the door sign asking for just that! This hotel manages to keep a great staff (YEARS AND YEARS for some) and you get that home away from home feeling even before you arrive via text messages, and again a message after you've checked out. I just left this afternoon and will be booking my next stay tomorrow for May. I very much look forward to seeing my BW family over breakfast and throughout my stay. You will too!!!! ** picture below: mother-daughter breakfast in jammies @ Best Western Cedar Inn, Angels Camp, CA.
Great place, great price, great breakfast, and fully remodeled! Close to restaurants, grocery stores adventures. 1 hour from bear valley. 45 minutes from spicer sno park. 15 minutes from moaning caverns. Close to wineries!
Clean, warm, spacious rooms with fast internet. Stayed in the 2 room suite - which was perfect for our family of 4 with 2 teenage/young adult sons. Availed nearby attractions of snowmobiling 45mins north at bear valley and restaurants at Murphys
This hotel is starting to show its age a bit..I remember when it was brand new 20 years ago or so…Biggest issue was with the jetted tub ..The drain was placed on the edge of the tub and when I put it in it would not form a complete seal so the tub water leaked…Also, the adjustable shower head was “stripped” and only had one setting…VERY low flow..Barley enough to rinse my hair… Otherwise a decent room
Nice size clean rooms. Good location. Rooms were quiet. Courtesy breakfast in lobby was adequate. Friendly front staff and service personnel. Loved and appreciated the friendly hello's. This was our second time we stayed there. General Dollar store next door was very handy for last minute items.
We spent 3 nights here and it was great! The employees are all really friendly, the room was great-we had a king suite with a gas fireplace (it really warms the room!). Breakfast has a really big selection for self-serve! The location is fantastic-close to Vallecito, Murphys, and downtown Angels Camp. We'll be staying here again!
1.Nice to be recognized as a BW Elite member sadly no recognition 2. Pricing discrepancy at check-in staff did not know why but corrected at check-out. 3.Stay 2 nites housekeeping unable to clean room
You can everything going on in the hallways. The lights flicker and humm like a creepy horror movie. The breakfast is a little basic and mainly a lot of bread items. That being said the pool is amazing and the fitness room is nice.
The room was clean as well as the rest of the hotel. My only fix would be get larger or more pillows for the king-size bed. The pillows are too small for the bed and very uncomfortable. Pool water was a bit cloudy but everything else including the breakfast area was clean tidy and tasted very good.
We stayed at this hotel in Angels Camp, CA. The staff was friendly and so helpful. They even suggested we visit Mercer Caverns in Murphy's and their recommendation did not disappoint! The complimentary breakfast was amazing! So many breakfast choices and helpful breakfast staff. We will definitely be back.
The people here were very accommodating! We were given a late check out because we had to ship some things home. Everyone there was very nice. The town itself was also a very nice town. The guest laundry was very helpful to have and easy to use. We would definitely stay here again.
Great hotel . Very clean , beds very comfortable. Air conditioning worked a treat on a 100 degree day . Bathrooms well equipped with lots of supplies . Staff very friendly. Convenient location . I would happily recommend it to others . Plus has a pool.
I love the convenience of everything. Staff well educated on Best Western and area. Very Clean and organized rooms. Layout for parking was convenient, especially the Handicapped parking. I really like the employees were always clean and professional yet friendly being approachable.
We had to evacuate from a forest fire during the Fourth of July holiday. As you might imagine, nearly everything was booked for miles around. My wife and I lucked into this Best Western, and the staff really went out of their way to take care of us. They made sure we had a room and allowed us to extend our stay when the evacuation order didn't lift as soon as we though. They met every request that we had. My wife and I were very pleased with the courteousness and dedication that the staff had to making sure that we had everything that we needed.
Great customer service, clean and updated rooms. Jetted bathtub is awesome! Continental breakfast was like any other except with biscuits and gravy. Pool and spa were clean and refreshing. Love the pictures in the rooms on the wall.
Ask for Cassandra or Kim, they are extremely helpful and make sure everything is great during your stay. The hotel is small with lots of parking towards the back. The breakfast has quite a few options. The hot tub and pool are nice temperatures. Will definitely stay again. It's a great spot for wifi and cell service in that area it can vary depending where you stay.
This hotel had fine service. The staff even checked with us during day to see if we had any issues or concerns. Our large double queen room contained sinks in and outside the bathroom, a decent sized refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, dresser, computer table with 2 easy to reach plugs, plus a couch and chair sitting area. There was a large luggage rack (one of my pet peeves when it's not provided). Free internet was available. Bath included the regular amenities, sufficient towels and towel bars plus a bonus make-up mirror. Beds were comfortable. The inn was quiet and more than met my expectations. Good breakfast choices offered included: usual pastries, bagels, and cereal but also make –it yourself waffle and biscuits and gravy as well as yogurt and fruit selection. The only negatives were somewhat dim lighting especially in mid-room and a rather odd air conditioner that was a bit noisy and slow to respond.
We stayed in room 211. This room is entered via an inside corridor that opens up by the pool so the door to the room is outside again. Het was very clean but the bathroom smelled a bit off when we opened that door but it went away after we used it. The mattrass is perfect if you like to sleep on a bed instead of in it; like I do. We got plenty of towels and little bottles with toileteries. The waterpressure in the shower could have been better but there was a curved shower rod. The breakfast is very well taking care of. Many choices of bread, cereal, waffles, yogurts, fruits, hot items, and kept stocked during breakfast as well. The overall service and feeling of this hotel is very good.
I have been visiting Best Western Angels Camp from San Francisco for a number of years. It is the most consistently hospitable , clean, and best value in the County. I usually arrive late in the day. Cassandra always provides excellent service at the front desk. She is a joy to speak with…helpful and knowledgeable about the area restaurants. She is patient and gives every guest her complete attention…it's the only place I stay that never lets me down.
Stayed here on a recent trip with my wife. This is a very nice property! The property is clean and fresh! If you have the choice or desire, upgrade to a deluxe room, rather than staying in a standard room. The Deluxe Rooms have a patio or a balcony, that are nice! I wish I had upgraded to get a balcony or patio!
Had a good night sleep and a decent breakfast. It was a nice room with only minor issues all in all was a great night of rest prior to the day of business ahead. Thanks for your time in assuring that the room was clean in order and stocked with towels and toiletries. We appreciate your efforts to insure that guests have a good experience. Thanks again and keep up the great service.
The staff was very accommodating. The rooms were clean, spacious and the bed was comfortable. I was traveling very late and the staff was waiting and ready to check me in even after midnight. The breakfast was decent with a delicious waffle maker.
We travel to bear valley almost every year with family, and this is the first time we stayed in this hotel in Angels Camp. Folks, I highly recommend this place to stay if you happen to travel to this area! Hotel itself is nice and clean, well maintained, reasonable price with high quality services and amenities. Most importantly, the staff here are super awesome! Friendly smile, excellent service, we booked a 2 queen beds standard room, but when we arrived, they gave us a free upgrade to two bedrooms. What a surprise! But wait till I tell you what happed next morning...when I backed my car, I accidentally scraped the fence behind, because the camera was blind due to snow and dust. Their general manager Aaron, a very nice gentleman, said he will just take care of that! We ended up having a great day in ski park. Right after we returned home, I wrote up this review with gratitude. What a great experience. We will definitely stay in this hotel again in the future trip.
Stay at this hotel more than once and seems like every time it just gets better. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The housekeeping staff does an excellent job making everything clean and comfortable.
This hotel was better than I expected, but not without some drawbacks. I was traveling to Murphys, CA on business. The only lodging I could find in Murphys was expensive B&Bs, so I decided to book at the Best Western in Angels Camp, which is only about 10 minutes from Murphys. Check-in was easy, the room was clean, and parking was convenient. It's not walkable to anything except the Dollar General next door, but "downtown" Angels Camp is only a couple minutes' drive away. The wifi was not perfect. It connected to my laptop, but refused to stay connected to my iPad. It disconnected itself every couple of minutes, making the iPad unusable over wifi. Also, weirdly, there were no hand/face towels in our room. We only had bath towels and washcloths. We made do, but it would have been nice to have appropriate towels. We were in room 100, which appears to be the largest room at the hotel. It was quite spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. There was a desk as well as a side table and chairs. We also had a tub with spa jets in our bathroom, which my husband enjoyed after his hike while I was working. If you stay here and have the opportunity to stay in room 100, I'm guessing it's the best in the place.
We stayed here after driving through Yosemite National Park. We were tired and it was a very good stop. the staff was helpful and friendly and the room was clean. The breakfast provided was also very good. I would rate this motel with 6 stars if they had a little more light in the room for reading. This is definitely a place we would stay at again.
Very clean and comfortable. Everything worked, so that was nice. The square pillows are a bit hard for my liking. Nice selection for the continental breakfast items. Very easy check in and check out. For the price of the stay, it was acceptable. I will return.
The rooms are always so clean and well maintained. We've stayed a few times and are impressed with how modern they keep it looking. The wood floors are a great touch. I'm a stickler for clean room and that's one of the best things about Cedar Inns. Highly recommend!
We flew into Sacramento and spent two nights on our way to Yosemite. The room was very nice. Central Air was quiet and pleasant. Wifi was great. Spent one day in Murphy. We visited the Calaveras Big Tree State Park and went to the Mercer Caverns. Not a lot of finer dining in Angel Camp. We just settled for yogurt coffee and banana for breakfast.
Our room was very acceptable from a cleanliness and comfort standpoint. We stayed 3 nights and only asked for housekeeping once. Fresh towels were provided, but our bed was left unmade. We finally figured it out but the water supply to the tub/shower's single-handle control had hot and cold swapped, a potential danger to someone who is accustomed to the usual arrangement for this and is not quick to realize what is happening when hot water comes out unexpectedly. Had to pay a high rate for a 3-night minimum because of a car show in a nearby town.
The Inn was pretty and fit into it's surroundings well. The entrance was clean, lobby was well maintained. The parking was excellent. Our room was clean and the decor was new. Definatly recommend this for a person traveling alone.
Clean room good service. Pool need to be cleaned. Breakfast was package, what staff asked for if we need any additional items for breakfast. It was fast check in and staff was very friendly. There was key drop in bin to clean the key cards.
Happy to have stayed here. Loved the pool and hot tub. The room was so quiet at night- we all slept really well. I wish I would have gotten a chance to use the gym there- it looked really nice. The front desk lady was really sweet and so were all the other workers we came across. The front desk lady went above and beyond to make our stay a good one.
We stayed at this hotel for one night while visiting family in the Mountain Ranch area. We chose this location because they had good reviews, offer continental breakfast, and was located 30 minutes from my families house, and 30 minutes from the lake we were going to an Arnold. Everything was really lovely! The front desk clerk, Esther, Was very helpful to us when we were trying to check in early, and kept us informed of when I room would be available. She worked really hard to get us into the room early. We had a king bed suite with jetted tub and pillows out couch. The room was well decorated, felt clean, and nice and spacious. Would definitely stay here again!
We stayed at this hotel as it was about 30mins from calaveras big trees state park and because we've usually had good experiences with Best Western. It's the first time that upon arrival our room was not ready and we arrived around 5pm (the hotel check in time is 3pm). We waited another 45mins before the room was ready. My understanding is that the hotel is short staffed due to the pandemic. The parking lot fills out fast (although there might be some more space in the back, I'm not sure. Once we got to our room, it was spacious and well furnished. The walls are a little thin, so we could hear people talking/arguing in the next room and corridor, having said that, it was quiet at night. The room had a fridge and microwave, which worked well. The hotel is located close to a few stores and places to eat, so both were handy for preparing or storing meals. The hotel has a grab and go breakfast with a few items to select from. There is also an outdoor pool, which we didn't use. Overall, the room was functional, we used it only in the evenings for dinner and to sleep as well as morning for breakfast and the location is good and close to Murphy, big trees state park and bear valley.
I stay with Best Western frequently. The Angel's Camp Best Western feels like home. Its so pleasant to always find staff who are interested in giving you a nice stay. The rooms are spacious, exceptionally clean and welcoming. I highly recommend BW.
Super friendly and helpful staff. Had a grab and go breakfast. They had milk, juice, coffee, fruit, and muffins. One of the best grab and go breakfasts we had. Our room was great. Very very clean. If you are in the area you won't regret stopping and staying here. Our stay was wonderful.
My husband and I went to Angels Camp for our 27th Wedding Anniversary for great wine and beautiful scenery! The bed was VERY uncomfortable and the hotel has really thin walls and ceilings so it was noisy and the spa was broken but the room was very nice and the staff was very friendly and professional. Great value for a great Anniversary!
The hotel was surprisingly comfortable. Everything seemed clean and fairly new and modern. Internet, TV, other items worked as expected. Only things to complain about are just nit picky things which weren't the real reason we were there for. Breakfast was bagged with limited choices due to COVID. The hot tub wasn't functional due to the dismay of my kids although staff mentioned that they were fixing it. Due to the winds the pool had a lot of small seeds, leaves, and misc pieces from the nearby tree's in it. They had a pool skimmer there so after a few minutes I was able to clear things out for the kids....easy peasy. Other than that it was as good of a stay as I had during COVID in California.
Up front I will say I was disappointed I was promised a bottom floor room and when I checked in I received a 2nd floor room and they did not have elevator. Well that is the only criticism of this hotel. It had very nice clean room and the hotel staff were outstanding. I am a shampoo snob due to years of coloring my hair. I used there shampoo and conditioner and I will tell you I could not stop touching and "petting" my hair. I am laughing as I write this, but I can't describe how soft my hair felt. It was wonderful. They also have changed from carpet to hard flooring which I like because I just think it promotes a cleaner environment. I was really happy with my stay here and would whole heartedly stay again and recommend to others. The area is beautiful and I found locals very nice. I recommend the area. So much history and beauty to explore. They also had a great shower head and excellent water pressure. The location was really quiet. Staff observed safe cleaning practices.
parking lot is small, the staff wasn't very helpful with our issues, pricing online was not honored, and was not provided amenities that we were told would be avalible to us. it was very frustrating to pay more for less then we were expecting.
After being fully vaccinated, my dad and I traveled to Calaveras County, California to visit family there. We stayed at Best Western Ceder Inn in Angles Camp. The accommodations were recently renovated and provided a comfortable room with two queen sized beds. the staff was polite, accommodating and friendly.Even though Covid precautions were still in effect, the breakfast was tasty, nutritious and easy to prepare and eat in the room. The location is central to all of Angels Camp, and close to Murphys and other attractions. I was particularly impressed with one to the employees, Saul, who greeted me with a smile and helped with breakfast and other needs throughout the day.
Our first visit to Murphys was cut short in 2019 by high winds and a precautionary power shut down. And for our first post-covid outing we have returned. This was a great place to spend 3 nights and take in all the wine tasting in and around Murphys.(Eight minutes away. Use Murphys Grade Rd. Nicer than Hwy. 4.) From everything I can tell, the staff and management are doing all they can to make vacationing safe and secure again. Our room was clean, spacious, and the bed comfortable. I love Murphys and will be back, and I will stay here when I do!
We spent two nights at this hotel. What we liked: central location for visiting nearby towns and wineries; large refrigerator in room; nice pool area (although it's still closed because of Covid restrictions; quiet. What we didn't like: the room paint (dark gray) was so dark, with charcoal gray floors, that it was depressing even with all the lights on; coffeemaker needs to be upgraded.
and enjoy the fresh air, great channel selection, a bit pricey, but a good night's sleep will reward you, one of the better Best Westerns that the others can learn from, stay here! and you can enjoy the ride down Highway 49 to get there!
We stayed here for a couple of nights as a family. The room was clean and had useful amenities like a refrigerator and microwave. The shower/tub were nice and new. Water temperature was responsive with good water pressure. We enjoyed having the grab and go breakfast. Conveniently located near several fast food and other restaurants, a Save Mart and a CVS.
Great hotel in Angel's Camp. The rooms were big and clean. I recommend a suite for a family. The rooms are separated by a wall which is nice when you travel with kids. Only problem is the breakfast during COVID is not great. Nothing non-dairy and very limited -cereal, yogurt and fruit. Plan accordingly.
Very Modern and clean rooms. The price is right also. Nice size refrigerator and nice flat screen TV. Bathrooms are also very modern! Centrally located close many restaurants that we are at and very delicious. We are definitely going to be back.
This was a great hotel! Offered grab and go breakfast, pool/spa not open due to Covid. Updated room. Located on a busy street, but could not hear any noise in our room. Our room had a balcony which was not listed (that I saw) which was a PLEASANT surprise. Clerks at front desk were nice. Would definitely stay here again.
9/10 of the employees are ANGRY AND RUDE. Learn to be compassionate or no ones gonna rent anything out here I'm not interested in putting my friend in a bad environment so we placed her someone else thank you for at least helping her get out of this spot by being openly rude
We've stayed here several times in the last 6 years and it's always a great experience. Since our last visit they've done some remodeling which makes it even better. Stylish decor, comfortable furniture. We did have an issue with "toliet noise"-refilling every 20 minutes-but told the front desk in the morning and it was promptly fixed. Their "grab and go" breakfast during Covid is excellent. Packaged breakfast burrittos, muffins, cereal, juice, yogurt...you can't do much better during these trying times. This is a sparkling clean and quiet hotel-we've explored much around the county and IMHO this is your best bet. Ask for a south facing room (away from parking lot) for more quiet.
Best Western Cedar Inn-Angels Camp, CA, did NOT live up to our expectations. We were not told at time of reservation, that swimming pool and gym was closed, and, breakfast was basic, bags handed out to us, and a certain male member of staff was rude, indifferent, with no customer service, and seemed hostile towards his fellow employees. The only reason we stayed 2 nights, was because our other reservation at a mountain resort was cancelled due to a closure from new fire, and asked for 2nd night. The toilets do not flush well at all, (good luck with a #2). Plus, brown stuff smeared on bathroom light switch, dirt on inside of front door, 3 holes in the wall, smelly and torn pillow cases, as if maids, had not changed sheets, noisy air conditioning. Loud people, music both nights with strong smells of cigarettes & marijuana wafting through the hotel. Only 1 woman in her 40's or 50's had excellent customer service. Sorry, we did not get her name.
I have stayed at this Hotel twice and each time it has been a great experience. Rooms are always clean, quiet and a decent size. Sheets on the bed are clean and even though there are a ton of pillows, you can always find the right fit. I was upgraded on one stay and it was a king in one room and 2 queens in the other, my oldest son thought he was home in his own room. Air conditioner worked great, kept us cool the entire time we were there. The bathrooms were always clean, the towels were not the kind when you dried your self after a shower, you get rake marks all over your body. The towels were soft and clean, that is the top tell that this establishment cares about its customers. The front desk people on both occasions were very nice and very helpful. Gave me some really good places to order food and to have it delivered, since there is this current pandemic. Whenever I am in the area I will only stay here. I highly recommend this place for business or pleasure trips, nice little town and New Melones Lake is right down the road.
Stayed here during COVID (Mid July, 2020) property was clean, staff was great. Great, clean little motel in downtown Angels Camp, Ca. Centrally located to everything, pool, jacuzzi etc. I would recommend this place to anyone.
I stayed here recently with a friend while traveling to Big Trees. We stopped in Angels Camp and were very happy with our choice of hotels. The service was friendly and the room was very comfortable with all the normal amenities. The beds were comfortable and the hotel policy of quiet after 10 was heaven. It's a wonderful location, conveniently located. I highly recommend!
The walls are extremely thin and you can hear everything(even the drawers opening). The rooms were decorated super nicely though, the fridge was spacious. The vending machine had some good selections but didnt take dollars that night.
Great help from front desk (Cassandra) during check in due to confusion of 3rd party booking company. She got everything corrected and the rest of my stay with my wife of 36 yrs celebrating my birthday was great.. thanks to Cassandra (again)
Love this Best Western , by far the best one I have stayed in. Angels camp is a cute town within a small amount of travel. Several restaurants and stores are in walking distance. The staff is good and nice.
We arrived earlier then expected. The staff was very accommodating! Breakfast choices were awesome. The family was very impressed with the room; was very clean and great internet reception. Pool and spa were nice size as well. Check in & checkout was easy.
We were in the 2 room suite. Perfect for us hard to find hotels with 3 beds. Newly updated, comfortable. We didnt take advantage of the breakfast but looked good. Small hotel but nice and cozy. Staff was very friendl .
This is definitley one of the best Best Westerns I have stayed in. It appears to be quite new and our room is spacious with a separate seating areas and clean. The rooms are nicely decorated in particular the photos on the walls. Definitely recommend.
This must be one of the cleanest hotel rooms we've stayed in! Amazing. The housekeepers service was excellent—and they were nice! The floors are wood laminate even on the second floor, but we hardly heard any noise. Just early in morning by guests who walk down the hallway and talk loudly, not realizing. The suites are cool because there is a half wall that separates the sitting area from the bedroom. They put the tv remote in a bag to make or keep it clean too! BW Cedar In was a great place to spend the night while exploring the historical area.
Needed a hotel for my family near Bear Valley ski resort. Warm welcome by front desk. Room was clean and appeared recently renovated. Enjoyed the hot tub before going to bed. Variety of options for breakfast. Reasonable price. Great stay.
This is by far the best Best Western we've ever stayed at. The hotel is really nice but the rooms are decorated beautifully. The breakfast was excellent with lots of choices. Hotel staff was extremely friendly from front desk to housekeeping.
Working in the Motherlode area and needed lodging; this place fit the bill. I have stayed here 3 or 4 times now and haven't had a bad experience. My last stay was in a single king room with a fireplace; that was a nice feature.
This was an excellant choice in Angel's Camp. It was clean comfortable and the Breakfast was very good. The room was large and had everything we would want. The pool was clean and nicely located. I would stay here again.
We couldn't get a room in Murphy's, so we looked in Angels Camp, 8 miles away. We were incredibly lucky to get the last room available and it was really nice. They have updated their rooms. They have a really nice color scheme and modern furniture. Great Wi-Fi and TV. You have an extra sink on the outside of the bathroom with a fridge and microwave too. They have a nice size pool, Jacuzzi and workout room. If you stay for more than a day, these are nice additions to enjoy. The breakfast is tons better than most places which include a continental breakfast. In addition to the normal items, they have a refrigerator containing full pre-packaged breakfast meals. They were tasting and a big surprise. This is really a wonderful place to stay in Angels Camp, I highly recommend it.
Excellent motel, stayed two nights with two in between. Rooms were clean & well-appointed, very nice breakfast nook with a variety of items available. When visiting the Gold Country again, this establishment will be at top of list of places to stay.
I stayed here on a work trip but would return for pleasure and or family trip. Great service, comfortable, clean , and quiet. located close to food and other rtetail. I have roccomended to friends and family, I will stay here again for sure!
This hotel was the nicest Best Western we have stayed at. It was cute on the outside, modern and tastefully decorated on the inside. Really the decor was one of the nicest of ANY hotel we have stayed at. We loved the oak leaf motif details in the lighting and other places. The pool and hot tub were fantastic. The rooms were very clean. The breakfast was nice.
The staff was very friendly, and helped me find a room at the last minute on a busy weekend. They helped me store luggage all day behind the counter, and were happy to be helpful. Location is nice, very close to old town Angels Camp.
This is a rather small hotel but very nice and comfortable. The rooms have been refurbished recently and our room was beautiful, with a large king-size bed, table and chairs and even a fireplace. The décor was really pretty with neutral colors and nice wood accents on the desk and console housing the refrig and microwave and TV. Breakfast was ‘the usual' fare, but fine. It was a very quiet neighborhood and we enjoyed our stay here. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you're traveling in the Gold Country.
Stayed at this Best Western based on previous reviews on our way to Yosemite. Wow - did we strike gold! Recently remodeled so the whole property had a new modern feel to it. Easy, friendly check in with Kim who provided great local restaurant recommendations. Room was clean and WiFi worked great. It was too cool to use the pool but it looked nice and refreshing. Well stocked breakfast that featured an oatmeal and yogurt bar in addition to breakfast sandwiches/burritos that just needed to be warmed up. This was a great place to rest prior to arriving in Yosemite the next day. There is a full service grocery store about 1/4 mile away which allowed us to pick up essentials at reasonable prices to take to the park. About hour and fifteen minutes away from the northern entrance of Yosemite. Don't hesitate - just book it!
We chose this hotel mainly for its excellent location to the town's we wanted to visit. it was a clean, pleasant hotel with all the facilities we needed such as a guest laundry - and it had a pool too. The breakfast was very good and well stocked. we enjoyed our stay.
Came out to Angels Camp to visit family with my grandkids. The room looked new, new furniture, flooring, bathroom clean, no mold. They have a pool and workout room. Beds were comfortable. I did not find elevator, which I thought was strange. All was good until 1am I woke up with the room filled with the smell of cigarettes. There was a lot of noise on the balcony outside so I am assuming the neighbors were outside their door smoking. Not something I wanted to breathe or have my grandkids breathe.
One of the nicest places I've stayed in the last few years. We sat in the hot tub in the evening hours....amazingly clean...not a worry for a public hot tub. Hardwood floors were clean and shiny. Hispanically run SUPERIOR BREAKFAST ROOM with choices I have NEVER seen; cheesy scrambled eggs, plump sausages and hash brown patty along with all the other acoutrements other places have. Even had salsa for my eggs. I will mention the bed..I rate it as a 6. Trouble checking in..all 3 cards were declined (their system) they gave us the KEYS ANYWAY and this got cleared up the next day. LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION.
Wonderful experience with speedy check in, nice rooms, great breakfast with variety (not just muffins and fruit), Pool was fun, Staff - Kim, Cassandra, Lindsay and Jasmine were always asking if we needed anything. Really felt like family.
Had a King room with a balcony. Plenty space and clean. There is a nice looking pool but we did not have time to use it. Breakfast has a good selection. Its about a 1 km walk into town down the main road although there is not much traffic. The centre has some bars/restaurants and a cinema. Going the other way is a nice traditional pizza place where the food was good.
We came from Texas to visit family we enjoyed big trees Murphy's we came To my grandmother's 85th birthday saw a lot of family The hotel was very clean the house keepers made sure our room was super clean they made us feel welcomed
We stayed here after we were unable to find a campsite in Yosemite. It was pleasantly nice. The rooms were updated and clean. The only thing I noticed was that the shower had mold. It definitely needed a deep cleaning. It overall was clean in the bed area which is always my main concern. I would recommend if in the area and needing s clean space to sleep overnight
We were so pleased with the up-to-date finishes and room decor in this modest hotel. Everything was clean and so new. The pool was nicely maintained and it felt very well-kept overall. No ick-factor. We love staying in Best Westerns and this hotel was a great example of why. While not large, it was exactly what we needed for a very reasonable rate.
The staff was friendly and welcoming. We had a king mini suite with balcony. Room was clean well appointed with couch and chair and desk in sitting area . The pool and jacuzzi were clean and open . Bed was comfortable. Pillows were small but there were two each . Breakfast had lots of choices from cereal to waffles to breakfast burritos to breakfast sandwich. Overall we had a good stay and we would stay again.
This hotel was booked at the last minute And it served every purpose. Frog jump can sometimes be overwhelming but this hotel stay made it much more enjoyable. Everything was perfect. I will certainly stay here again and again and again.
This hotel does a good job on all the basics. My room was comfortable. Everything worked although I would prefer to be able to adjust the refrigerator. The Internet was good. Breakfast was limited but good. The staff was friendly and professional.
Stayed here for the Alan Parsons concert up in Jackson. What sold me on Angels Camp was this hotel. The room was absolutely perfect! The blackout drapes had my spouse asleep until 10:30! Had to physically wake him up.
Friendly staff, wish they had an elevator, esp. for suitcases. Kinda had to get cases up the concreat stairs. Very nice self serve breakfast. Love that outside windows will open for fresh air. Some issues with the thermostat and hot water for tub/shower
An interesting surprise awaited us upon checking into our room at the Best Western Cedar Inn & Suites. A little bag titled Fresh Remote near the TV. Is it a joke or a marketing promotion…? Have a look at the attached pictures. We had a pleasant stay at the hotel. The Rooms were meticulously clean, the service was great, and great hot breakfast. The hotel location is within a walking distance to local shops and restaurants and it is a good base to discover the “gold country” area nearby. We will definitely re-visit this hotel. Upon checking out we were offered a free take-away bag with water bottle and snacks. This was a very nice token of gratitude and goodwill.
The place is clean but very noisy, if you are looking for a good nights sleep, this is not the place, with no carpet on the floor and poorly insolated doors, you hear every conversation out your door and from the rooms either next to you or above you
Needed to get away for an overnight. Had difficulty finding a place to go in short time notice. Often prefer to stay at a Best Western when possible. Room was recently remodeled and very clean. Cassandra who checked us in and out the next morning was fantastic. Not much to do in Angles Camp this time of year, but we enjoyed our stay.
Great location for a family snow weekend. Nicely situated within walking distances of stores and Restaurants in Angels Camp. Less than an hour drive to Big Trees. Staff was friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay an enjoyable one. Very nice people operating this property. My wife and daughter and I had a wonderful stay.
So nice to find a full service motel in a small remote town, friendly helpful staff provided directions to local attractions, recommended great pizza within walking distance and we had fresh hot waffles every morning, gotta love a fresh waffle. We had a microwave and frig in our room, ice machine nearby and vending machines for a late night snack. It was rainy and cold so we hunkered down in our room for a day and enjoyed our stay.
This was a great remodeled hotel in Angel's Camp. The rooms were spacious and updated, multiple sinks in our suite made it easier to get ready for our day. Also, the breakfast was great for being a continental breakfast. Burritos, breakfast sandwiches, breakfast platters etc. Our family will definitely be staying here again if ever in the Angel's Camp area again.
I stayed here 3 years ago and was satisfied, but now the rooms have been completely remodeled, and are beautiful with an upscale look. Everyone working there was friendly, and the breakfast was tasty. They have a large 2 room suite with a fireplace...almost as large as my house!!!
This was a great place to stay for the night in Angels Camp. The room looked really modern and new. The Internet was really fast and had great connection. The staff was always friendly and welcoming. I would give the breakfast 4 out of 5 because a microwave is the only way of warming up some of the breakfast foods. Overall, I would stay here again when returning to the area.
We like very thing about this hotel, the staff is wonderful rooms very comfortable and great locationBeen coming here once or twice a year for over 10 years and always very satisfied With rooms service and personnel This is a winner in our book
great room, nice check in, but be warned, breakfast could be a lot better than microwavable whatevers, , above average cable channels, wish the hot tub worked, it was cold!will definitely stay again when in area
the stay was nice, the only complaint I have is that they put me in room 103 which is an outside room that faces the pool area. The room was very comfortable BUT I had to listen to the NOISY clanging of the gate for the pool area every time some one entered or left the pool area. The sound of the people in the pool area was not an issue but that metal gate woke me up a few times and the pool is opened until 10. So next time I will be sure to get an inside room NOT one in the pool area.
Had a great stay staff was excellent very clean I really enjoyed are stay it was close to big trees Murphy's is a cute little town the young lady working the front desk recommended a nice Italian restaurant
Stayed here for just one night and found the experience to be very positive indeed. Our room overlooked the pool but was quiet and had obviously been remodelled quite recently. Bed was large and very comfortable. Despite being right on the highway through town the hotel was very quiet, plenty of parking too. Staff were great and did all they could to make our stay enjoyable - and gave great dinner recommendations. Despite not having a full kitchen the breakfast was very good with lots of options available. Clean, f=comfortable and with good service, what more might you want. To be recommended.
Stayed here for one night on my way to Yosemite National Park, it is a well maintained hotel with large rooms and close to the busy part of town. My room was very clean and seemed it had been remodeled not so long ago. There's breakfast included, however they should have more tables available to seat.
We were very pleased with the service and facilities here. Staff was helpful, going out of their way to provide assistance. Although our room was next to the pool, the area was closed at promptly at 10, so night noise was not a problem. A somewhat unusual but reasonably good breakfast combined the usual continental items with pre-packaged hot food. We qualified for a free upgrade to a suite, and the gas fireplace was a real treat on a cool autumn evening.
Upon entering Angel's Camp it was hard to imagine finding a reasonable place to stay. This Best Western was really good. The room was large and looked as though it had been renovated more recently. What was really nice to see was an all wood floor with carpets beside the bed. There were plenty of towels in the bathroom with amenities one might need or had forgotten. The lighting, heating/cooling and cleanliness were very good. The breakfast was great too. There was plenty of healthy things to choose from. We would definitely stay here again.
Our 1 king bed room was spacious and very clean. The breakfast was excellent.with a large variety of items suitable for the microwave. The waffle maker had the option of making large, medium or small waffle very convenient for families.
The breakfast and the rooms are very goog and very clean!. Just note that there is no elevator for top floor. The pool and gym were nice. The staff were very helpful in assisting with your baggage. Men were very cheerful. Rooms have been nicely updated with beautiful floors and nice decor!
This was the first time our family had been to Ironstone Winery for a concert. Best Western was the first place we called for a room. We were not disappointed. Kim at the front desk was very helpful with all of our questions. Housekeeping was always there in a timely manner when we called them. Would definitely stay here again.
I'm a new fan of Best Western, having just completed a 2 week west coast vacation and staying at 4 BW's in the process. Consistently nice looking hotels with a warm, inviting appearance, great service, clean, comfy rooms, and quiet night's sleep, all at market-reasonable prices, at least if booked in advance like we did ;)
We traveled from Los Angeles to attend a concert at Ironstone Winery in Murphy's. All hotels in Murphy's were completely booked. We were lucky enough to get a room at Best Western Plus Cedar Inn. We were pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness of this Best Western as I am not a Best Western kind of Gal. Cassandra in the front office/desk is an outstanding asset to this location. Thank you Cassandra for you wonderful hospitality. Jason was a great help as well.
this property is conveniently located and recently updated property with continental breakfast and pool. Note: those sensitive to noise may want to request upstairs rooms as they all have hardwood floors (carpet has been removed), which create a lot of noise! I saw some mold in the bathroom and spots on one of the towels, but other than those things, the room was clean.
Very high value, quality service, location is ideal. Service items in room exceed all standards as does all the service. Reservations are handled in-house, and that helps me make sure I get what I need. Place is simply great.
I arrived very much looking forward to a dip in the pool to cool down after a 4 hour drive in temperatures of 90+ only to be told it was closed as it needed painting. Very disappointing. Our room though was very large with a balcony which is always a bonus however it was let down by a mattress that rolled you out of bed and some sort of noisy air con unit in the attic above us. The breakfast area also needs to be increased in size as there are very few tables. Overall a nice place that needs a few tweaks to make it a very nice place. Reception staff were very helpful and recommended several places to visit that we were unaware of that lead to a very nice afternoon in Columbia Ca.
New remodled, good breakfast, friendly service at front desk routed us to a very good resturant. Parking could be more convient. ......good very good very nice will stay there again. big spoaious rooms.
Pretty much what to be expected from a Best Western Hotel. Just north of town so misses most of traffic. Convenient to reach fairgrounds. Parking with late arrival a little tight and some construction debris near rear entrance but no big deal.
The room was very cute and clean. I was on a girls trip to Yosemite and it was perfect for our group. The free breakfast was awesome (even had a mini waffle maker!) and check in/out was a breeze. Especially for the price, you cannot beat this deal. I will definitely be staying here again on my next trip to Yosemite.
This is one of the best properties in the region. Clean, good service! I have stayed at this property several times and it is always my first choice. They recently upgraded the rooms and they are clean and well maintained.
The property is pretty and it a wonderful location, but that is where it ends, I had a late check-in the the procedures are not secure. I had two pieces of broken furniture in the room and one was a safety hazard. There was a large amount of mold in the shower. When I told the manager, she said something about the soap holder. I repeated that it was in many places and could have been easily removed. No reaction. She obviously doesn't walk the rooms.
its not easy to stay in a decent hotel for under a $100 "out the door" these days but this place ticks all boxes. There's vinyl floors in the rooms, not carpets which has upset some people but it keeps things cleaner in my opinion. Every area was spotless anyway and I was with my wife and daughter who are clean freaks. Decent continental breakfast, good choices, you know continental means no-one is going to cook for you but there were very good options here including a waffle maker that worked fine. Hot tub and swimming pool were good as was the exercise room and it was a bonus to have a TV in there with all the channels you get in your room. Limited interactions with staff as everything worked well but they were polite and courteous. I'll come here at this rate when staying in the gold country again.
The rooms have vinal flooring and in this climate it is verry cold to walk on, the floof dosent realy ever warm up even after the heater has been on over night. the Jacuzzi tub is high and hard to get in and out of and there is nothing to hold onto to prevent a fall. Oh and the black mold is nasty!! The contintal breakfast can better be found in a gas station, at least in a gas station you can get real coffee and not instant.
I booked this room because it was not far from Calaveras big trees. (21 miles). I decided to book the King suite with a fireplace, microwave, and refrigerator. The room was very large and decent for the price.HOWEVER, my room was right next to the pool and fitness center which was EXTREMELY NOISY until 10 PM. I called the front desk and all the desk attendant said was sorry. I just expected more for getting a king suite, again the room was nice but the location was terrible. If you decide to book the king suite with a fireplace make sure they don't give you room 109. Unfortunately I would not recommend this hotel based on the location of the room, noise, and unfriendliness of the staff.
I was in Angels Camp on a Business trip. This appeared to be one of the better hotels in Angels Camp, which it probably is. First off, the "deluxe continental breakfast" is anything but continental. Only hot items are some premade microwave containers that you heat in the microwave. There are bagels, toast, dry cereal and yogurt. Just not a very hardy way to start the day. Walls are very thin, I had the pleasure of hearing a very oud conversation between a guy and a gal in the next room. Almost sounded like the gal worked there as they kept referencing room 121??? and we were on the 2nd floor. Any staff that I encountered was not real friendly. Like I said, maybe for one night. I think I was woken up almost every night by either slamming doors or loud conversations in the hallway. The hall is like an echo chamber. Other than that It was an ok stay. Oh and no elevator.
Great place to stay in the gold country. The choices you have for breakfast are amazing. Staff is so friendly & helpful. They gave us great recommendations for dinner and places to visit. Rooms are clean & comfortable. Will be back again.
This is a decent hotel along a highway. The hotel appeared to be clean and in good working order. I did not experience any issues during my stay and the staff always seemed friendly and helpful. A decent place to stay for a business trip or family vacation. No bells and whistles, but no issues either.
Our mini-suite room was a very nice size. Comfortable bed. The pillows were rather big and too firm for our liking. Most of the night we had a smoke smell that would come into our room and then leave, since we could not figure out where it came from we did not call the front desk. The room and location are very quiet; we liked that. Our room had a sliding glass door to a patio that is right by the parking lot; very easy to bring suitcase in and out. The breakfast was nice, not great; but very similar to what we have had at other Best Westerns.
I love staying at this hotel while we explore all the exciting things in this beautiful area of California. We use this hotel as a base camp, have an excellent breakfast and go visit old gold mining towns, caves and forrest that this wondrous state has to offer to explore. Always a good trip. And we always have at least one meal at Mike's Pizza, couple blocks from the hotel, excellent pizza...REALLY.
Friendly, efficient staff, clean, comfortable room. We were on the road on our way to our son's retirement party and needed a play to stay, unscheduled, and the Best Western was a perfect answer. They had a room available on the first floor which was great because my husband has mobility issues.
We stayed here for one night as part of trip from San Francisco on the way to Calaveras Big Trees state park. It is a nice hotel, clean, nicely furnished and well maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms were large for the price paid. It is situated in Angels Camp which is an old Gold Rush mining town that has links to Mark Twain and a jumping frog. If you want somewhere to eat in Angels Camp there is a lovely little family run Italian restaurant called Crusco's but it fills up fast so get there early or book beforehand
This was a great hotel. Jason helped me through a traffic jam by finding a different route off of Hwy 4. When I got to the hotel he set me up professionally and went that extra mile to help me with directions to a fair I was going to later. The hotel room was clean and bright, internet worked well and the breakfast was very good, missed eggs but there was waffles!!
Booked this property in transit to Calaveras Big Trees. We arrived after a 12 hour travel day to a huge room (203) with whirlpool tub. Carpet and bedding looked updated. Bathroom a bit dated but spotless. Bed was comfortable and we slept like rocks. No noise from neighboring rooms. Nice breakfast sandwiches and burritos offered along with the standard stuff. Only negative is there is no elevator so we had to haul suitcases stuffed with two weeks worth of clothing up the stairs. We are normally Marriott and Hilton people but I wouldn't hesitate to book this property again if in the area.
Room 100 is above the office, with no unit over you nor next to you. The stairs to the office/breakfast nook is next door but heard very little. Hot tub was a nice feature, pool isn't heated. Right off highway, but not noisy. Staff friendly, helpful.
I would not recommend. Their hospitality lacking; poor breakfast choices; bathroom in need of updating and repairs. Staff not helpful, seemed uncaring. Overall exterior of building dirty. As a BW Rewards partner I will not choose this hotel again.
Most always stay at this hotel. People are great, rooms very nice and breakfast is pretty good too. Location is perfect for this area. The pool area is as clean as you could ask for and it is close to tourist venues
Very clean, comfortable, and quiet. Room was very spacious with nice amenities. Close to everything we needed. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Check in and out easy and quick. Plenty of free parking.
It's hard to see where the hotel is, however, that's how it's done in small towns. I love that, who wants to see a big city lit up sign? Not me! When I checked in the woman was nice, however, seemed rushed and I was bothering her. Asked my questions and went to my room. TV not working, lights on 2 lamps not working. Called, a nice young man fixed the TV but could not fix the lights. Woke up to barking dogs who ran up and down the back of the hotel starting at 6:00 AM. I opened the window, talked to them which calmed them down. Or maybe the owner? All I all, great hotel to stay in while in Angels Camp.
The entrance is a beautiful wall of large stones. My stay was very pleasant. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Has a nice pool area and fitness room (didn't use). The staff (Cassandra) was very kind. The continental breakfast has good selections of items. Two doors away from a post office.
We were in the area to explore the caves and Natural Bridges (gorgeous area), and stopped for the night. My kids had a blast in the pool, and the little Jacuzzi area was very nice. The room could really use a deep clean. The shower caulking was molded and really should be replaced. Not sure if you can even clean that once it gets to that stage. The sink had a large crack running through it, and the carpet was not clean (stained, needed a vacuuming). A pillow topper would do wonders for the older bed, as well. The employees really make this hotel. The woman at breakfast was very pleasant and outgoing, full of smiles, as was the receptionist at checkout. The hotel is in a very convenient area, and check-in and check-out were quick. The breakfast nook only has a few tables, so show up early. They do have burritos and breakfast sandwiches to heat in the microwave, as well as a waffle station and the usual pastry/bagel fare. Honestly, if the bed had been more comfy I'd have been so much happier with our stay. Please consider a pillow topper on the older mattresses!
We checked in after 11 pm after the George Benson/Kenny G concert at Ironstone Winery. The person at the front desk was very friendly. The room was clean. The balcony is separated by a sofa area and a wall. That helped block out most of the light and any noise from the parking lot. But the front door is thin and it was easy to hear conversations in the hallway. Overall, the location was safe. Plenty of parking. Only 7 miles from Murphys. The breakfast was limited with a few pastries, waffles, juice and coffee. Did not see any fruit. Fitness Center had a few machines and the pool area seemed clean on the second floor. Overall, this was fine for the area but in a larger city, I would only rate it a 3.
Had not stayed at a Best Western for a long time and was very satisfied with the entire experience. The room was excellent - clean, quite, modern. The staff was warm and friendly. Would stay at another Best Western based on this great experience.
Other than a little confusion about getting a none pet room @ checking it was a good stay. Everything clean including the free breakfast area. Linens were fresh and clean with plenty of them. If ever in the area again I would stay here.
Very happy with our recent stay on 8/19/17. Everything was nice from the moment we drove in to departure. Property was clean from the parking lot to the bathroom. We were 4 adults/3 kids (13, 11, 7) and stayed in a two room suite #102 which is very roomy, few steps to pool and tucked in corner yet close to lobby. We went boating at New Malones Lake and property has boat/trailer parking. Check-in and check-out were quick and easy. Breakfast and breakfast area was nice and had numerous choices with coffee not so good. Pool/hot tub area was good size, clean and comfortable. Staff was very pleasant from the desk clerk to the maintenance man. Will definitely be back.
I already sent a review. I like the hotel but did not like the attitude of the man at the desk. I am a female but not very attractive because I resemble my father. He looked at my boobs and asked for my ID I guess to check my gender. I have very short hair because I have a partially paralyzed arm and cannot style my hair as I would like so I guess that makes me appear less feminine. I also think he thought I could not afford to pay because I was dressed in jeans and tee shirt. That is my impression of his attitude. However, I would stay there again.
We were up in Angels Camp because our father was in the hospital. When we first contact you, you had no rooms but we called again and you found us a room!! We ALWAYS stay here when we visit our dad! Thank you so much for the help!
We booked this motel in Angels Camp on line; this was our second visit to the motel for a family trip to enjoy the Gold County activities. The check-in was easy. the pool area was a great place to relax. The room was very quiet and the bed was comfy too. We'll stay here again!
Looks nice from the outside. Booked a mini suite with fireplace by phone as that was the only thing left. Over $190 with tax and AAA discount. Our room number was 209. Where to start? The carpet is very spotted and stained. The furniture is scratched and worn. The bathtub surround has mold in every seam. The baseboards have dirt and grit in the corners. Walls have gouges and missing paint. The balcony table had an ashtray overflowing with cigarette butts. The bed is hard and the AC rattles. They were sold out, so we just went to bed to deal with it the following morning. We weren't acknowledged by the front desk as we went into the tiny breakfast room, even after my cheery hello. The breakfast attendant was friendlier. Hot items are limited to prepackaged Resers burritos or waffles. That's ok, didn't expect much. However, there was a bowl of peeled boiled eggs with no utensil to retrieve them. I watched several people reach in bare handed to choose an egg. No egg for me!! When we checked out and were asked "how was your stay?", I politely but firmly listed our issues with the room. The desk person proceeded to excuse the dirt and lack of housekeeping on firefighters who had used the hotel for an extended time during a recent terrible forest fire. Wrong answer. I know that fire, though terrible indeed, was LAST YEAR. When I pointed out that should have nothing to do with current cleanliness, she said that the rooms were going to be "redone" soon. That had no bearing on my current stay and I pointed that out as well. I told her I had paid $200 for rooms before but never for a dirty one. I showed pictures. She said "I will tell them" and resumed whatever she had been doing before I came in. This could be a pleasant, charming little Inn. It is certainly located in a pleasant, charming little town. If this is the best in Angels Camp, do yourself a favor and try Sonora or Murphys, or anywhere else. They are not good at housekeeping and even worse resolving issues with disgruntled guests.
Clean, friendly staff, not happy with so many stairs being handicapped. Stairs to room, pool, and breakfast area. No handicap parking near near room entrance. Pool and hot tub are clean. Would not use this hotel again for reasons mentioned.
We stay here quite often. Always clean. Always a good nights sleep. And a decent breakfast to get you going in the morning. It is centrally located to the towns of Murhpys and Mokelumne Hill. Great wine tasting in Murphys. And good for concerts at Ironstone Vineyards.
We checked in on a day that the thermometer hit 106. With two adults and two children the suite that we checked into was perfect with 1 1/2 bathrooms, a king and two queen beds in separate rooms. Plus the suite was very reasonably priced. Because of the heat we ended up spending more time in our rooms but we also used the adjacent pool. The continental breakfast was one of the best I've seen with a wide variety of options to choose from. The staff was very nice and helpful. All in all, a great experience.
The hotel was clean, quiet and a good value. The room was large and had a large window and blackout curtains to allow guests to sleep a bit longer. The staff was professional and friendly. There was a laundromat for guests. The pool and fitness room was great after a long day of travel. Convenient and close to restaurants, and shops.
The beds were so comfortable. The pool was exceptionally clean. The breakfast was amazing! There were so many good choices for everyone. The mini waffles were my kids favorite! I like that there was another bathroom sink outside the bathroom. It made it so nice for our family of ten to get ready.
Very small and cute hotel. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The fitness room needs an elliptical machine and free weights. The breakfast is just okay...but I say that because I love eggs and bacon, and they offered cold scrambled eggs and sausage to microwave. Other BW usually offer some kind of omelet. Other than that, though, the breakfast was pretty decent; delicious waffles, nice selection of cereals and bagels, coffees, teas. The mattress was very comfortable and we slept so deeply that we both woke up early; a vacation bonus!
Excellent hotel with good amenities, the breakfast was well above the standard fare. the hi-speed internet was good until everyone got on line, then it slowed a bit. I do wish the dish TV source had more channels.
It was very clean and well taken care of. Nice staff and only minutes to check in even though we did not have a reservation and it was 12am. All rooms were easy accessible. In the morning we just left and did not have to check out.
Nice Hotel, Breakfast area is small so it gets crowded when the hotel is full. Pool was nice in the evening. Parking can also be a challenge but there is an overflow area. Location in town is good with excellent freeway access.
This Best Western was nice and clean. Staff was friendly and breakfast choices were good. The AC and pool were great and kept me cool during the 100 degree weather. I will stay there again, when I'm in the area.
This Best Western was spotless and offered every amenity a traveler desires. The rooms were very spacious, and it's obvious that the staff cares about the quality and appearance of this property. I wish every hotel could be as nice!
I really loved this place. I stayed for a family vacation on the way to Yosemite. overall good spacious room, nice pool and very pleasant. Breakfast was good too. Overall it was a great experience and would really recommend
Our trip was great able to travel all around the gold counrty to see places we have never seen before. Using the Cedar Inn as a base. Great plan. Staff was helpful and always there to help. Our dog had a great time and was very welcome. Thank you.
All I can say is good things about this place is nice and I would stay here again there were no issues at all and the staff is excelent I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to the area and I will be back myself in a month and a half for another concert up in the area.
This two story motel has a mixture of room types. At the front of the hotel (close to the highway) are rooms surrounding the pool, with exterior corridors. At the back of the building are additional rooms that open on to exterior corridors. In between is the sweet spot: rooms away from the highway, and opening on to an interior hallway. Those rooms on the north side seem to have small balconies; the view is just of the parking lot, but the sliding door offers a greater sense of openness than I'd expect with the rooms on the south. We were very pleased with our room (mid-building, north side) which was sufficiently generous in size to comfortably fit two queen beds, a sofa, and a large desk. Additional room features included a refrigerator, microwave, and a second sink near the closet. The room was well maintained; everything worked. Minor annoyances: there was no in-room safe, and the bed coverings were limited to a sheet and warm comforter, the latter too heavy for the summer heat. Fortunately, the air conditioner was powerful and the room was already cooled when we arrived. The breakfast buffet, however, was disappointing. The first problem was inadequate space. The breakfast area contained two tables big enough for three (but with four chairs each) and three tables big enough for a single guest (but with two chairs each). There were no available tables when we arrived, but when a small table opened up, we grabbed it, and tried to balance our three plates on the tiny table. The second issue was that the selection of food was more limited than I expect at a Best Western Plus. Initially, I thought there were no eggs or sausage, although after I made my initial selections, I discovered "breakfast burritos" in the refrigerator that could be heated in the microwave, providing some egg and sausage content. Later, I noticed the appearance of several prepared omelets with sausage in containers on the counter, presumably for guests to reheat. Disturbingly, they were left at room temperature, possibly because of insufficient refrigerator space, so they should be eaten only with caution. There was the usual selection of cold cereals, but only one type of milk (fat content not labeled). There were no English muffins. Overall: I'd stay here again, but would get to breakfast very early for a table, and would inquire about the availability of an omelet, fresh from the refrigerator.
Would definitely come back. Very clean and staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool was nice. The breakfast was actually good they had frozen eggs, sausage and hash browns nice change from just carbs and sugary stuff.
We had a very pleasant stay. The hotel and room were clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very basic. I wish the coffee was a lot better and they would start serving it earlier. We arrived right at check-in time but were told we would have to wait 5 minutes for our room. Still, a nice place!
Cedar Inn & Suites is a nugget in Gold Country. Centrally located for day trips to Murphys, Arnold and Sonora. The breakfast selections are varied and well presented from the Denver Omelets to the cold milk... a real favorite are the breakfast burritos(just like home) The grounds are well kept and parking is ample and close to your room. Room amenities are quality and plentiful with gourmet coffee selections. The overall experience was great and our pet was right at home.
Great value. Cheerful and competent staff. Yummy breakfast. My room was clean and very quite and we both got a good nights sleep. This is my new favorite place to stay in the Angels camp area! I will definitely stay here again next time.
This hotel was a top experience on our travels in California. Very clean, comfortable mattress, lots of good pillows, amenities, and very good breakfast. Had a homemade packaged breakfast burrito to heat up in microwave and lots of other choices.
We spent three nights here in a king suite. Roomy and comfortable. We even had a fireplace. Very clean. The breakfast was excellent and there was a pleasant and efficient coordinator supervising supplies and assisting guests. Lots of parking.
Hotel is clean, slightly outdated in the rooms, but we just left the Sonoma best western hotel so this is a tough comparison. No real complaints on cleanliness other than I would recommend to stick with white comforters. The colored starchy comforters are always a turn off to me. As far as hotel attendants, every best western I have stayed at has been over the top accommodating and helpful. The lady that checked us in(dark hair) was super sweet and friendly and gave us some awesome tips on where to go as well as history of area. She mentioned murphys which is the most charming town 7 miles from Angela camp. Amazing wine tasting rooms line main st and adorable boutique shops. The locals are super friendly too! I'd recommend the firewood pizza joint (awesome decor in restaurant very trendy industrial) pizza delish and light with fresh salad! Also, grounds for breakfast is a must! Amazing portions and fresh food, and amazing patio! Lavender ridge wine tasting room by far was our favorite wine room coupled with cheese samples (also at Rec of our awesome hotel clerk). Joma's icecream is also amazing and fun flavors. The short story- we will be returning, great job best western!!
Great place to stay. We stayed for our daughters wedding in Valley Springs, CA which is about a half hour drive from hotel. There really is no choice in that area, so this hotel is the best nearby. Lots to do and see in the area. Murphy's town is very fun. So many lakes, caverns etc... to enjoy. The Calaveras Park Big Trees are So Beautiful . Love the trails.
Stayed in Angels Camp for a wedding and was pleased with the price and overall quality of this hotel. Decent continental breakfast and cozy beds. Didn't use the pool, but it looked nice and up kept. Staff was also friendly.
I stayed there for s golf tournament .. Everything was very good except the bed was very uncomfortable. The breakfast area was very chaotic...not set up in a organized way and guest were dodging each other to get to things. Other than that was a great experience.
Enjoyed my stay very clean well kept hotel, staff is very friendly and welcoming. Warm and friendly area, beautiful scenery, lots of outdoor adventures. Hikes, lakes, quaint lil towns lots of winery's sooo cute.
Rooms were clean and quiet, beds were firm, comp breakfast and wifi, lots of parking. They also had fitness room and outdoor pool and hot tub. We had a nice restful stay due to staff and quiet neighbors. It was easy to find.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Cedar Inn. We plan to return. And while you are there, it's only a two block walk to Mike's Pizza, don't miss it, best Pizza we have had in a long time. We didn't use the pool because of the weather, but it looked very inviting.
This is a super clean hotel with great amenities at a fantastic price. It was the best hotel breakfast we have ever had...pre-made plates of omelets, sausage, and hash browns ready to microwave, breakfast burritos, breakfast croissants, fresh fruits, etc. The queen beds were extremely comfortable. We stayed on the second floor and it was very quiet. Near by there are several stores and restaurants where you can get supplies at a reasonable price before heading east.
The hotel was nicely decorated and the staff was very friendly. Our room was perfect for our needs. (King bed with pull out couch for our son traveling with us. The continental breakfast was excellent, a large choice of hot and cold items and fruits.
i always stay in the best western angels camp when visiting my relatives at thanksgiving and easter. i hope someday the smoking regulations could be more strict, but i think the hotel is doing the best job they can under the circumstances.
Our room was very nice. It was a king suite which was perfect. The kids slept on the hide a bed in the living area next to the fireplace with their own tv. My husband and I had the king bed with our own tv and a balcony overlooking the pool and hills. Rooms were very clean and quiet.
The staff here is kind and friendly. They are always smiling and know the area well. The rooms are clean and up to date with nice decor. My bed was comfortable and the breakfast was pretty good with plenty of grab and go options.
The rooms were extremely clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. The beds were very comfortable, but the pillows were extremely small. The area is relatively quiet, and the pool and hot tub looked very inviting. There was a storm while we were there, so the internet went down for over 24hrs and then the TV lost signal, but came back on. I would stay there again and I would highly recommend this place!
I would stay here every time I visit the area. Service is very friendly. Parking is tough on weekends but I normally stay midweek for an uncrowded snow adventure. Market is close by and dining options are good as well. It is also close to Bear Valley.
We were on a weekend trip to gold country and picked this hotel largely because of the excellent reviews. We were not disappointed! Got the junior suite with whirlpool tub. Room was large with separate sitting/sleeping area. Couch pulls out to bed for my son and I slept in the room. Decor was nice and everything was modern, and spotless clean. We will be staying here again!
This was one of the best laid out rooms I have ever stayed in. More than one mirror in various parts of the room made getting ready in the morning very easy. Enjoyed having a sink outside of the bathroom as well as one in the bathroom. Appreciated the fact that the heater/air conditioner was not right next to the bed....did not have air blowing on me all night. Would definitely book a room here again.
Very clean, accommodating, welcoming place, with all sorts of amenities (so one should stay more than one night). Hot tub is excellent in winter months, maybe all year round. Staff very friendly. Breakfast room very homey and bright. Nice choices, too
nothing special, IN and OUT for a buck-twenty. Had to leave early so I missed the free breakfast I guess they have.Clean, comfy, modern. The TV is lower than the bed so that doesn't work., but I can find fault with anything. It's the cross I bare for being an attorney/reporter/politician....
Enjoyed the amenities of the hotel and it's location in Angels Camp. we used it as our base to visit Murphy's, Camps restaurant, Calaveras Big Trees, and San Andreas. rooms were spacious and we had a balcony. Close to the older downtown area. We would recommend to anyone visiting the area.
Nothing special about this hotel, but clean and convenient with a friendly, helpful staff. This is a quaint little town and the hotel is right in the middle of it, with a short drive to San Andreas. Easy parking on premises.
Great Location, just down the street from Murphys Grade Road. Clean, roomy and modern rooms, we had the two bed just off the pool area. Staff was helpful, we had booked the wrong dates and the owner was very accommodating once we realized the error. Breakfast was packaged, but fresh, canned coffee, but Starbucks within walking distance. Plenty of parking. Will return
After staying at this hotel I was reconciling my checkbook a week later. I noticed I was charged for my room for two nights the day we checkout. The next day I was again charged for another night. When I called the hotel they claimed I had two reservations. I asked them why when I checked in they would have not given both room keys then, and why when I checked out was I night asked to pay for two rooms...why? because I only had one reservation that is why!! The hotel said they could do nothing about this. I then called the National Best Western office....they took my complaint and sent it to the hotel and said it was up to the manager as to what he would do. I have called the hotel numerous times now and every time the answer I get from the person at the front desk is...."just a minute let me get him" and then a few moments later the desk person comes back on and says "oh he stepped out"....EVERY TIME they say this!!!!!! Looks like a pretty good scam they have going on here!!
I love some of the small quaint towns along the Mother Lode of California. Decided to stay in Angels Camp, CA. Since the Butte fire that was so devastating to that area, the highways were badly damaged and they are in the process of fixing the roads and doing a very nice job. I only gave this BW a 9 in some cases because I was given a handicap room that I did not request. The desk clerk said that BW sometimes does this and I should check to verify I was getting the room I requested. However, I have to say, Cedar Inn & Suites has the best most versatile breakfast I have ever had.
Our stay was just fine--we were attending a conference in Murphys, and the Best Western where we stayed was lovely. Nice variety of foods for breakfast; quiet even though it's on the main road, and convenient to other places in the area.
Cedar Inn & Suites was recommended to us as the best place to stay in the Angels Camp area and they did not disappoint. It was very accommodating and there was an amazing list of amenities for such a reasonable rate. The complimentary breakfast was very good! Rooms were clean. Staff was kind and friendly. Plenty of free parking.
for the price it was great, we were upgraded to the two room suite and decided to stay an extra night and the hotel manager keep us in the same room for only 125 +tax , even with the hotel book up for big local event. room had plenty of pillows which makes the wife happy. Breakfast was a little on the skimpy side and the coffee a little too muddy as my wife would say, but it did the trick and adds to the value. The rooms in the Sonora can get expense very fast and being on a budget and just need a place to sleep after a long drive it did the job. It's close to Columbia State Park (25 Minutes).
If you are tired of tiny rooms, or rooms that do not have everything you need, then try the Cedar Inn in Angel's Camp. There is nothing missing at all, the soap is actually useable instead of laughable, everything works, the rooms are large, TV's are large, furniture is great. The guest laundry room has no waiting, the pool is heated and clean. This is my favorite hotel in the Gold Country.
Room was clean, but outside appearance not great. Had several long term outside workers staying there with trucks. So morning was very noisy when they were leaving for work before 7:00 a.m. Breakfast was ok.
This hotel was a very nice place. The people working there were very friendly and helpful when you asked for anything you needed. It is in a quiet setting and had very comfy beds for a good nights sleep. Well worth the price which was decent as well.
We picked this BW on the basis of Trip Advisor reviews and were not disappointed. The location is convenient. The building well-kept and attractive. The rooms had nice little rose and hedge hemmed in patios (on the ground floor) and balconies (on the top floor). Guests either enjoyed their patios in the evening or left their sliders open to get a breeze, but it was nice to have this option. The room itself was large (we opted for a king suite) and we had a couch, small coffee table, plenty of lighting, a desk, desk chair, another arm chair and the TV was located such that it was viewable from either the "living room" or the "bedroom" (which were separated by a floor to ceiling wall). The bed and bedding were comfortable. Our room was very quiet even though located adjacent to the stairs. We did not hear any neighbors. The room was spotless and the bathroom spacious with one sink in the bathroom and one outside. I appreciated the make-up mirror on the swing-arm. The refrigerator was a tad small, but serviceable. Check in and check out were a breeze. Even though the hotel said "No Vacancy" each night we were there, parking was never an issue. We would definitely recommend this BW and we would return.
Really nice immaculate stay at a great price. So impressed with this place, you couldn't fault this motel if you tried in my opinion. Friendly, clean, great pool and spa, really clean, modern rooms. One of the nicest motels I've ever stayed in. Angel's Camp was a really quaint town too with a wonderful Italian Restaurant 10 mins walk down the hill, really tasty food!
6 of us stopped here as part of our road trip and this was brilliant. The breakfast had a great choice of food to eat and the rooms were clean. We only stayed for one evening but enjoyed it. There was also a gym and pool.
We were expecting a basic hotel but were pleasantly surprised, twice! Our first surprise was the size of the room for the price! We were expecting a king size bed, we got a king sized suite! It was perfect for us, as my husband works graveyard and we are are on different sleep schedules, he had a room and tv all to himself. The second surprise was the next morning at breakfast, we were expecting a continental breakfast and found many great options. My husband had the freshly made heat and eat omelet, I had hot off the griddle waffles, both were delicious. They also had options of cereal, yogurt, bagels, and pastries. The staff was very friendly and the grounds and rooms were all very clean. The only "bad" mark would be the candy machine dispensed melted candy, guess we didn't need it anyway!!
Very accommodating. We preferred an upstairs unit and they upgraded our room so we could have one. Staff were all very helpful and courteous. Very pleasant stay. The continental breakfast was not your usual continental. We had many options to choose from.
Stayed here for two nights as part of a weekend getaway to see a concert up the road at Ironstone Vineyards. This was by far one of the nicest Best Westerns we've stayed at. Us and our friends had great rooms right next to the pool & hot tub. The rooms are very well equipped, comfortable beds, nice shower, and has a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. The morning breakfast was also excellent. They have all the standard continental breakfast items and also an assortment of hot food. They have a bunch of pre-made trays with sausage, hash browns, and an egg and cheese scramble that you heat up in the microwave. There is also an assortment of breakfast sandwiches and egg burritos you can heat up. I was very impressed with the convenient way doing your own hot breakfast. The best rooms to get are 100 thru 106 or 200 thru 206, those rooms surround the pool area. I will most definitely stay here again on my next visit to Angel's Camp.
The facility is very nice and accommodates handicap. Breakfast is good and staff is friendly. Be careful in choosing places to eat in the area; some restaurants do not recognize discounts offered in their room guides.
Our room was pleasant. The hotel is in a good location. It's expensive for the relative value (we paid $149 on a weekend). The front desk was pleasant. The only thing subpar was the included breakfast. If you want eggs, you're given a cardboard box with a pre-prepared omelette, hash browns and sausage, then told to microwave it.
I had an enjoyable stay here. The hotel is in a good central location to see the sights in the area. The staff was very very nice. The hotel was nice and clean. The free breakfast was really good. My only complaint was the uncomfortable bed. If the beds were updated you would have a perfect property.
We checked in with 2 adults and 2 children (5yrs & 7yrs). Check-in went smoothly even though our room wasn't ready yet. We were able to run over to Columbia and see the town and when we came back our room was all clean and ready for us. The hotel is nicely set up with enough parking. The pool was nice, the water is not heated. The towels seemed really small though. The room was appointed nicely. When we were there, the vending machines were not working. Breakfast is included, there is a very small area set aside for breakfast. My kids loved the make your own waffles. They enjoyed those each day. They also had many choices for cereal, yogurt, and toast/waffles etc. If we were going to the area again...we'd stay here again!
It was late upon arrival and the lady at the desk said to us as we checked in " I was wondering if you would show up..." She said our room was the last available and a guy was standing at the desk hoping we wouldn't show up. I found dust behind night stand and someone else's empty water bottle. Continental breakfast was gone when we arrived to eat at 7 am. We left and went else where .
Stayed on the way to Yosemite. Everything was clean and up to date. The hotel has a unique and nice layout. The breakfast nook was a bit small but extra effort was made to make in work. A to go platter was available to take out with eggs and sausage. The pool was nice on a near 100 degree afternoon. We loved our stay.
The room was more than expected. The bathroom was very roomy with a large jacuzzi tub. Nice sitting area with a hide-a-bed and an additional tv. Bed was comfy. There was a deck with 2 chairs & a table outside the room. Breakfast had a large variety of food with 2 waffle makers. Staff was very nice as well. The carpet had a few stains and probably needs to be cleaned. But overall I recommend this hotel.
This is not your usual Best Western. Perhaps it was once another hotel? The bathroom was spacious and very clean. The rug was nice and clean. the bed was very comfortable. We will definitely stay here again.
Great location for our travel purposes! My husband and I were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and upkeep of the property, and the super efficient check-in process. Will definitely return if in the area again!
I wasn't expecting much beyond a basic room, but was pretty impressed with this hotel. The room (King w/whirlpool tub) was huge. The hotel and furniture is older but the bedding and art is all updated. There were extra toiletries, extra bedding in packaging (which I assume meant fresh, not reused), and the whole place was very clean. The breakfast items were also wrapped so you didn't have to worry about who had pawed up the bagels. Coffee was very hot, and there were fresh breakfasts packaged up so you could grab a box and go.
Took the family on a trip of the Gold Country and Angel's Camp was a perfect central location. The hotel was well organized for my family and we appreciated its cleanliness and happy helpful staff. The breakfast was a big hit for the kids with the waffles.
Need a quick getaway from home town, we stood at Best western, price was reasonable, very clean, staff were friendly and helpful. Next morning we had breakfast which was enjoyable, they had a variety of options and very clean again staff were patient and helpful. Really enjoyed this place, we will stay again.
We stayed here for one night on a car trip through northern California. The room was very clean and comfortable and the staff was very friendly. While more a road side facility everything was well maintained and modern. The facility does offer a free breakfast but it is more of a continental style with limited choices.
In town for concert at Ironstone. We booked shortly after purchasing tickets as we have learned hotels fill up quickly. This time, everything was completely booked except Best Western which had a couple rooms left. We are thrilled to have spent just a few $$ more and have an excellent room. We will book here from now on. I know folks look here last due to price, but last year we stayed in a room that cost us only $30 less in the end and it was not as good as Motel 6. The hotels in the area have concert rates for their rooms due to limited availability. I would much rather pay a little extra and have this quality of a room. Ben was the guy who checked us in and hes very polite and helpful in room suggestion. Our room was 207 and over the pool. You could not hear any noise coming from pool area while getting ready. We came back from concert late. Room was quiet and comfortable. We slept in and no noise from mother rooms or from highway. Friendly staff and excellent stay. As I said, we will be back every year from now on.
This hotel is in a central location to visit Gold Country sites. We visited the excellent train exhibit in Jackson, the old gold rush town of Columbia, and the Ironstone Winery - beautiful. As far as the Cedar Inn goes, it was the best maintained motel we have every stayed in. Excellent on cleanliness, couldn't find a speck uf dirt anywhere!
If you're headed up to the high Sierras, this place will do only if you're in a pinch. On the plus side, they allow dogs and... and... uh.... they have free "breakfast". On the minus side, very unprofessional staff, stained carpets in room, broken down furniture, terrible mattresses, itty-bitty shallow pool, teeny-weeny breakfast area with limited selections, and overall pure mediocrity at best. Better bet: drive to Sonora and stay at the best western there.
There aren't a lot of choices in the Angels/Murphys area, and they fill up when Ironstone has a concert. So, we booked here not having many other choices, but were pleasantly surprised that it was much nicer than the usual Best Western -- large rooms, very quiet, convenient parking.
It is an fine hotel, nothing fancy, nothing bad. The breakfast is lacking if you are expecting a buffet. There were rolls, serial, muffins, frozen breakfast burritos for those that wanted them, and two waffle irons for making your waffles, when there is batter.
The hotel accommodations were okay. Staff was friendly. Breakfast wasn't anything special. Pool area was extremely noisy as was the air conditioner. The air conditioner was so loud that you couldn't hear the tv with it on. Majority of the equipment in the fitness room did not work.
Clean rooms, but noisy maids talking loudly early in the am while I was trying to sleep in. The reason I was trying to sleep in was because the air conditioner was so loud, I didn't sleep most the night. You can hear the showers running from other rooms. The Front desk was friendly, but when I requested a wine opener, I was told to come to the lobby and get it, versus them bringing it to my room. I was very tired from a long trip there to go to my daughter's wedding, so needless to say I wasn't in to good of shape for the wedding.
Great Stay..Pretty hot where we stayed so the pool was great.. Used it both before and after our event and was int he hot tub til 10! Towels were conveniently located. We stayed int he miini suite and both the bed and the sofa were comfortable. Braekfast was pretty good. Had the waffles. My cousin was late coming down things were closed down and they offerer milk and cereal for my niece. Great stay all around.
In all honesty, I'm not a big fan of Best Westerns-I've had some poor experiences with them, but this hotel was WONDERFUL. It is very pretty, the rooms were great. Each room has a outside sitting area. The breakfast is good & they actually cook up little omelets w/a hash brown+ sausage links fresh each morning. Really nice staff-this place is a "keeper" for repeat business.
Hotel is very clean. Room comfortable and clean. Internet worked very well. Bed is a bit hard for my liking and the breakfast only opens at 7 AM. A bit hard to get in and out if you have early business meetings.
Family with two children stop over trip to Yosemite national park. Hotel was clean, free parking outside room, fast complimentary internet and nice small pool. Breakfast was "continental" and it eaten the disposable container...
Had to use stairs to get anywhere within the hotel. Do not stay here if you can not get up and down stairs with your luggage alone. The hotel was very clean and staff very helpful with questions being answered. Breakfast was very nice. Located on main street near restaurants and shopping.
Stayed here on the way to Yosemite, found it to be comfortable, quiet and clean. The included breakfast was well done and better than most! There is a laundry for guests, which came in very handy since we had been on the road for a while.
Easy check-in and easy check-out. Pleasant stay. Hotel clean and comfortable. Building looks clean and presentable. Breakfast is great. Bed comfortable as is the room. Parking was very assesable and easy to park and exit. Front desk and staff professional. Pool area and tables/chairs nice feature.
We were upgraded to a mini suite and truly enjoyed our stay. The hotel staff was cordial and very helpful. Our room was spotless. We used the hot tub and pool is perfect for children. The complimentary breakfast was a cut above most other hotels. I though the price was very good for the room and will return here. My experience with Best Western has always been positive
We truly enjoyed the stay at Best Western. The service was great and the accomadations were excellent. We stayed at Several Best Western's and we always had excellent service. The staff was great. We liked the family suites.
Great place to stay, we plan to go back, very relaxing and every amenity you can think of. Excellent breakfast too. Located right in the middle of town near many restaurants.. We used the pool and jacuzzi, fantastic..
Needed to visit Angels Camp for a family event. As they did last July, the staff at this property did a great job. Comfortable room, good breakfast and great staff make this a great place to stay. I'll definitely stay here again!!
The Best Western in Angels Camp is a very nice, clean hotel. They staff are friendly and professional. The rooms are very clean and kept updated. There is a small work out room, and a nice outdoor pool and spa. Many of the rooms have balconies. Some overlook a property next door that has trees and a garden.
We had a room towards the back. It was clean and quiet. Breakfast was plentiful. They had waffles, packaged breakfast burritos and croissant sandwiches, cereal, oatmeal, danish rolls, muffins, bagels, multiple bread and 'made fresh daily' trays of scambled eggs, hash browns and sausage. Staff was all friendly. The only 'problems' (which really weren't problems) was then when we checked in there was a cup full of liquid on the windowsill behind the drapes and one day they hadn't gotten to our room to clean it even though we didn't return to the room until 4:30 pm. It was a central location to run up and down 49 from Jamestown to Jackson.
getaway trip went very well would stay there again had no problems at all ,people were very friendly and helpful ,they could use a little better parking but location made that not a big deal,.pool area was very clean and had a good looking area for just sitting and chit chating with friends.
booked room for a birthday get away for my wife. Was glad they had a room, any room. Was upgraded to a better room when we arrived (from the handicapped room). Liked location, it was clean and quiet. Staff was knowledgeable of local dining options both in Angels Camp and Murphy's. Staff was outgoing, and outstanding.
Staff are Responsive, Hotel is Clean, and Price is Reasonable. Wonderful Place to Visit. Many Attractions, and a Beautiful Area in The Spring. Serve a Good Breakfast, This a pretty good value for the price.
A nice clean safe hotel in the charming town of Angels Camp. The staff were welcoming and professional. The room clean and comfortable. Close to downtown Angels Camp and other places of interest in the historic Sierra Foothill locale.
The entire staff was very helpful dur9ing our stay. From the office manager (who called me back to give me directions on how to get to the BW) to the maintenance man Chuck (who provided us with anther coffee table and trash bag to use for a bir5thday celebration). The cleaning crew and the breakfast area staff were v ery friendly and made us feel at home. Kudos to all of them for making our stay a memoraible one.
Very clean, well maintained. Nice staff, and wonderful breakfast choices. Location is very close to many wonderful attractions. It is centrally located so that you can spend a day doing stuff and still come back to your room to relax, swim and clean up for a nice dinner out in one of the many fine resturants in the area. Hotel is pet friendly even though not advertised as such.
We stayed in a King Suite, very roomy with a sliding door that we could get directly to our car parked outside. Breakfast area well stocked.. Coffee in room and lobby great! We visited local areas and even went to the Black Oak Casino about 1/2 hour away...
Great hotel, room was clean, service very good. Only had an issue with the in room coffee maker. It was missing the pot and didn't work with just a cup. Was not replaced as requested. the fitness center bike seat adjuster was broken. I generally stay at Best Western and would recommend this hotel even with the issues. I am sure they will resolve the issue.
For the price you pay the hotel needs so much fixing and updating. The staff was pleasant. Rooms are in need of help, especially the bathroom showers. Breakfast was just ok, Ran out of milk, and had to have someone go buy some. Variety very light. They had Microwaveable food, very cheap. I have stayed at a lot of Bestwesterns and this is one I will pass on in the future.
We got a suite for the 4 of us guys on a Business Trip...we got 4 comfy beds, and basically 2 identical rooms with 2 beds, their own bathrooms and big work areas in each room too. What a great value, and clean and comfortable rooms. The breakfast in the morning had a good value, was tasty and had a lot of food if you were hungry. I will come and stay here again...good value and location. Thanks for a great stay.
The room smelled of smoke (little) and a person who had incontinence, and the breakfast was poor quality. And, my wfe and I slepped fitfully. The heater was operated by a wall thermostat, which was placed poorly and needed an instraction manual. I would not recommend this hotel to a friend, but would recommend Hilton Garden.
Great stay at Best Western Cedar Inn & Suites, Angels Camp. Staff is friendly and helpful. Checked at breakfast to make sure all breakfast items available for guests. Good staff, clean rooms, pet friendly, available to help if needed. Best place to stay in town.
Close to Murphys, and had a room with a jucuzzi tub. Very large room and cute. Clean and modern. Included breakfast had a hot entree available. We would go back here. Friendly staff and a medium sized breakfast area. Outdoor pool inside the courtyard.
VERY difficult to remove lid from packaged breakfast(stuffed eggs, hash browns, sausage), in order to heat in microwave. Quality was poor. Other breakfast items OK. Very clean eating area, but disorganized.
This was clearly the best hotel in the area. While traveling East, it provided the clean and comfortable stopover for a continuing trip up the mountain to other remote destinations. The staff was friendly and available even at our 10:00PM check in! They provided a great "serve yourself" breakfast including eggs, the traditional side dishes, waffels, fruit and a variety of beverages. The exercise room is centrally located with new equipment and TV.. Clearly, after researching ALL of the motels from Valley Springs to Angels Camp, this was the best decision. A bit more pricy but worth the pampering!
We were in Angels Camp to attend a funereal and took the dog... the staff let us in the room early so that we could change our clothes and recommended a great dog sitting place that we could leave her while the service was taking place... The name of the dog sitting place was the Bath House (I think) and those people were absolutely wonderful... didn't want to charge us because it was a "sad" trip... All around the trip was excellent..
Not all Best Western's are alike. But this one stands out. Super clean, nice and quiet (they have signs posting their quiet time-which I greatly appreciate) and a very nice breakfast. Only "complaint" is the bed is on the firm (hard) side. My back hurt after a night's sleep. New to us this visit was a "breakfast box" containing freshly scrambled egg with cheese, ham and bell peppers, a square of hashbrowns and 3 sausages. They also had pre-made breakfast burrittos and sandwiches. This as well as the make-yourself waffles, cereals, breads, bagels, etc. I've stayed at Marriott's that don't do as well. Request a room on the left / rear side of the hotel for quiet-the other room's overlook the parking lot and may be close to the pool, office, etc. We believe this is the best place in the county to stay.
Not the Anniversary Getaway Hotel, Did not receive the room requested due to overbooking !!! The FEMA people got preference on rooms due to the fires that had hit the area earlier in the year...The only part of staying here that I liked was the breakfast.
stairwell to rooms on backside of motel smelled of smoke - stairs needed cleaning and should have noise blockers on stairs. room carpet needed cleaning. other than this it was nice to have a microwave and fridge.
Nice place very happy that we got a sofa bed as two teenagers sleeping in one bed get very annoy. I would of gave it a excellent rate but when i would out of the main building down the stairs i could smell people smoking but overall the place was great to stay in.
My husband and I were attending a friends birthday party and didn't want to drive home knowing we would be having several drinks at the party. This hotel was very close and we were lucky to be able to book a room there. Love the look and layout and the staff was friendly and well dressed. It's located on a hill and my husband did have some trouble on the stairs (no elevator). Overall a nice experience.
Location was downtown which is great for walking the rooms are clean the pool is nice and the workout room is excellent. The morning breakfasts is quite adequate plenty to choose from all forms of diet.
This is a nice little place to stay. From the greeting at the front desk, the breakfast , the pool and the spacious rooms, it is a pleasant experience. The rooms are clean and comfortable. My room had a comfortable bed, small fridge, microwave, coffee pot, chair with ottoman, desk & chair and a mid sized flat screen TV. This time my room backed up to the street so it was a little noisy but I have stayed toward the back and it was quieter.
Very Comfortable hotel in the middle California's Gold Country. We able to Visit Historic Columbia and Jamestown all within an afternoon. Wish we could have stayed longer. Breakfast was great and well organized.
Best Westerns are where we always stay. We are Executive Diamond Members. The king bed is so comfortable and the sheets are superb feeling. Love the individual air/heat room controls. The complimentary morning continental breakfast is just perfect. The pool is freezing cold and I have never experienced this at any other Best Western. I could not swim the pool was so cold. And it was in the middle 90's while there!
Stayed for business one night. The county was still reeling from the devastation of recent Butte fires. An employee was diligent working out a request for 97- day accommodation. The compassion to help those recently displaced, while still taking time to greet a one-night customer touched my heart.
Stayed here after visiting Big Trees. The place was clean and quiet. The beds were comfortable, but the room was a little cramped. The parking was ok with enough room for a full sized truck and medium sized trailer. Breakfast was standard for this type of hotel. The pool and hot tub looked nice, but we did not try either. We would stay again if in the area.
We have selected this hotel becuase it was outside Yosimite and in the direction to San Francisco. The room was simple and clean. A very simple breakfast was included - coffee to go ;). Price of this hotel room was ok. Parking in the back of the hotel.
Hotel is ok but terrible to take toddlers. They charge $15 for a baby crib and it is a poor quality one that came with no sheets or mattress. If you need a place to stay with your family and a baby stay away from this hotel. I returned the crib and slept with the baby on my bed.
The room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable.30 minutes from Big Trees State Park. The breakfast was free and offered a variety of simple breakfast choices. The staff was very friendly. I would recommend this hotel.
Stayed three nights in this Calaveras central location. A very clean hotel with nice rooms and good amenities. Breakfast items could be better (scrambled eggs, soggy hash browns and some sausage in a container to microwave) but the mini-Belgian waffles were OK. Very reasonably priced, too. I will stay here again next visit to gold country.
