Best Western Hotel Alamosa Inn, Alamosa

We were just here for an overnight stay. Exterior entry style hotel, no elevators, so request first floor if you do not want to carry your luggage up. Rooms were clean, fine for the purpose. Breakfast was just OK.

We had a wonderful stay. Normally we prefer places not with outside doors but this pace was the exception. The place was clean and rooms large. The staff was was so kind and helpful. But the best was the absolute amazing breakfast.

I slept well on their mattress and the room was clean. This hotel seems very old, outdated and needs remodeling as soon as possible. The breakfast was ok, but the powdered eggs were not good - fresh scrambled eggs would be an improvement.

This summer, the costs of travel have sky rocketed. When looking for places to stay in Alamosa, we were flabbergasted that our regular hotel had raised their prices for one night to $325 per night. That sent us looking for another option. We found the Best Western Alamosa Inn and were quite pleased with the result. The room was large, clean, and comfortable, but not fancy. The door opens to the outside and there is no elevator if you are on the second floor. The breakfast was very good with a wide array of options. The best part though was that it was significantly better priced but still a good stay!

Just okay. Not a lot of affordable options in the area, so this seemed like a decent place for the night while visiting the sand dunes. Would have given it a higher rating if the shower wasn't covered in strands of black hair all over the wall when we got there, ugh.

A pretty standard hotel. The room was a bit small but we found room for our luggage. The gentleman at the front desk was nice. We had a ground floor room near the back door so parking was close. The only hot portion of the breakfast was waffles but there was a selection of other items.

Breakfast was fully stocked with all items, clean area, nice clean room, rooms at comfortable temperature when we arrived. Breakfast bar staff was super friendly and courteous with us. Even tho we arrived shortly before it ended we didn't feel rushed to eat. Clean lobby upon arrival.

Surprised how quiet this place was. Everything was clean and pretty new. The mattresses were nice enough. No stains noted. Breakfast had good variety: eggs, potatoes, sausages, gluten stuffs, juice, coffee, water, waffles. Well stocked. It was a great one night stay.

We stayed here for a trip to Durango but wanted to take our dogs to the sand dunes before. They charge 20 $ per pet, I could have stayed at the holiday inn for the same price and had a better quality room. Carpet torn, toilet paper dispenser broken and an outlet missing a cover. I paid too much for the quality of room.

The motel is fine - we stayed there three nights and had no problems. The desk clerk was pleasant and helped us fine a great restaurant. The motel breakfast was fine - a little better than most and served hot entrees. HOWEVER. There was no housekeeping while we were there for the three days. This isn't a problem except we paid the same price as we would have if there had been beds made and towels changed out. Best Western saw in 2020 that they could make a lot of money by not doing housekeeping but charge the same prices - blame it on Covid and people wouldn't complain.

Rooms are dated, paint is pealing, shower is rusting and moldy, beds are uncomfortable, located directly on the highway so it is exceedingly loud all night. I see nothing to recommend this place except the staff. They were very nice.

Nothing spectacular but no bad surprises either. The complimentary continental breakfast was just like at any other motel, with cooked eggs and sausages, and a standard set of bread, jams, waffles, fruit, all carb-heavy items.

Spent a night here after going to Sand Dunes. Friendly staff, room was clean, bed comfortable. Bathroom good. TV and wifi worked good. It is older but kept nice and clean. Breakfast was hot and cold foods and kept filled and cleaned up. Had a good night here.

Nice place to stay- they offer a really good breakfast with lots of options and the room was wonderful. Clean and well maintained. Comfy bed- What more could one ask for! Every one was very friendly and helpful.

The BW Alamosa Inn is convenient, Very Clean comfortable rooms with fridge, microwave, desk, chairs, spacious bathroom & sink area. Beds are very welcoming after a day of sightseeing. Housecleaning Staff asked if we needed anything daily. The Breakfast was above & beyond what I expected. Andrew at the Front Desk runs a tight ship and willing to help and very informative. He is a Gem.

My experience with this Best Western was sub par to say the least. I got in around 3pm with almost no other cars in the place. I had requested a downstairs room but they gave me a 2nd level room. I asked the desk to change it and they refused (just lazy I think). So much for being a Gold member. The room they gave me had a really noisy air conditioner. I pulled the air filters out and the noise went away. There was so much dirt and crud in it air could barely move.

We've been loyal Best Western people for many years. This may change our mind. Check in was difficult with a language barrier. Being a close to a holiday weekend we weren't sure if we could find other lodging so we went ahead and booked a room. It was okay but at the price we paid, we really expected a bit nicer. Carpets are old and worn thin, mineral deposits on the bathroom fixtures, windows with grit in them... What a shame. The best I can say is, it was in a convenient location.

Always stay at the best western when visiting alamosa! They have really good breakfast and amenities like a pool and hot tub the customer service is good this time around we paid $175 for one night and seemed to much . The need to renovate the rooms and add things to be in a price range of that sort. Other then that it was a great stay will be back soon

Super basic hotel with decent beds and a pretty grimy bathroom with an old, sputtery shower. Everything about this was bleh - not awful, but just-passable for an overnight stay. Given the state of the shower, I would not come back here.

Very dated motel. Dark, and dingy room and a reminder of how motels used to be. Expensive for the type of property it is. What motels used to be like 30 years ago. Old toothpaste in the sink from the previous guest, remote for the TV did not function. Carpet could use a good cleaning. Area around door to the room was not vacuumed.

I loved this hotel. We were on the first floor and the rooms all open to the parking lot so we got to park right outside our door which is very convenient. We arrived early afternoon and our room was ready. We had the pool to ourselves for a time and it was a great pool. We had spent the day at Great Sand Dunes so it was a welcome refreshing swim.

Best Western Inn Alamosa is definitely the go-to hotel experience as they have all of the amenities that would make the stay here awesome. Kudos to Andy for his exceptional Customer Service! I will be back!

The rooms were clean and attractive. The exterior was nicely landscaped. Everything worked well. The grab and go breakfast included selections as well as coffee, juice, cereal, etc. in the lobby. Very accommodating and pleasant staff. There were 3 couples in our group and all 6 people felt it was an excellent place to stay.

We stopped here with family since we were going one way and they were going another. The front desk woman was wearing a mask with a growl and teeth. At first I thought it was a reflection of needing a mask but it was really her actual attitude. Not a friendly or helpful person and she acted like she didn't want to be there. We are elite members of BW and have never seen this behavior before. No information was give to us unless we asked and even then grudgingly. The internet was not working and she told us just to go to another site and skip the hotel logon. After 4 discussions with her one at the front desk she finally called someone to check it out. The gentleman could get it to work and actually called the provider to see if he could walk through the problem. To no avail. I finally used the computer in the lobby but hate doing that with an open environment. I had some things that needed to get done however so I bit the bullet. The front desk in the morning was much better and Andrew was cordial and helpful with breakfast and check out. The room was fine but we were put off b y the attitude and the welcome that we got. I would have given this property a 4 or 5 if not for the initial interaction. We did review this with BW survey and told them of the problem even in more detail and got a form letter back telling us that they would look into it. We are not impressed and will find something else when we are in the area again.

We stay at Best Western frequently. It is always our first choice. We checked into room 219 and it was filthy-feces stains in toilet bowl, urine and hair on toilet bowl rim, peeling bathtub, filthy sink, room not vacuumed-YUK! Reception informed us it was too late in the day for housekeeping! Really!!

The woman who works evenings was very rude and very unhelpful. We nicknamed her "Miss Personality." The dayshift people were great. Room was only cleaned after we checked out supposedly because of COVID. We had reservations for 2 rooms with 4 people per room. We were only supplied with 3 towels per room. Miss Personality acted offended that we would ask for another towel. The Internet never did work correctly even after I spent an hour on the phone with a tech support guy. Miss Personality didn't care. She was more interested in getting back to the craft project she was working on. The electricity for a few rooms was off for a while. Miss P said it was the weather which was fine, and it was only a few rooms.

Room was dirty when we arrived. No cleaning service or even trash pickup available for three night stay. Internet service constantly going in and out. Loud yelling and screaming outside room every night after midnight. Drag racing up and down the street in front of the hotel in the middle of the night each night. Would never stay at this hotel again.

This is a clean and friendly establishment. I've stayed here for years. The dog friendly atmosphere is outstanding. The environment is COVID conscience and I hope to see this place get back to "normal" operation. My recent visit was just as enjoyable as the others pre-COVID. We stayed here as home base to visit the Dunes National Park and the Gator Reptile Farm. Restaurants are nearby. The motel had an easy registration. Our room was a nice size with comfy beds and great shower. Wifi was exceptional. Breakfast bag was better than expected. Staff was very friendly.

Andrew was extremely helpful making a reservation and finding us the perfect room. Had everything we needed and was clean and comfortable. We love places where you can park right at your room and unload. We travel with two dogs and their beds and it is just easier. Nice area to take the dogs out and a park about a block away to walk them. We will stay here again They also were taking all COVID precautions which we appreciated

Old school motel, room entry from outside. Check in was easy and friendly enough. When I entered the room it seemed a little chilly and the fan was very noisy. I gave it a few minutes, tried adjusting it but nothing helped. I finally went back to the front desk and informed the woman that I thought the heater was broken. She was apologetic and started to look for another room. She then offered me a space heater instead, and an extra blanket, which I declined. I did eventually get another room. The difference in the fan was amazing. Quiet and it actually blew out warm air!! Overall the place was okay but a little pricey for the property. I stayed at two other BW's on this trip that were far superior for less money.

The staff at check in was very helpful. The rooms are spacious with clean linens. The did provide breakfast but were restricted in how they can provide it due to COVID. They offered a lot of variety in a bag but the burritos were not the best. We ate breakfast out the rest of our time there. The room was clean overall but did have a lot of dust and the carpets were not clean even though they looked ok. They could use to really deep clean the carpets. It's about 30 min drive to the dunes.

I always receive a military discount, but for some reason, this hotel in Alamosa did not even offer me one. Also, there was mold in the bathrooms. Not very clean. Lastly, the refrigerator hummed lously all night giving me a headache.

pulled in late to this Best Western, I was very happy with the cleanliness and friendliness at this location. Would definitely recommend it to anyone needing someplace to stay while traveling through Colorado. Pet friendly,too!

Worst BW property. Not cleaned, toiletries not checked or replenished, questionable stains on headboard, damp dirty carpet. Most disappointed as this is the first time I've had a bad experience with a BW property.

I had a fine stay at this Best Western. There was nothing special about my stay and nothing that truly disappointed me either. Good: - the Breakfast. When compared to other budget/midrange hotels I have stayed at this hotel's breakfast was far better than others. (This is in comparison to a Tru by Hilton, a Hyatt House, and a Hyatt Place). I appreciated being offered a warm option (a breakfast burrito) and oatmeal. At the other places mentioned above, I was only offered cold options or nothing at all. - location: convenient to various destinations within the San Juan Valley and to downtown Alamosa. - comfort: this is a Best Western so I wasn't expecting very much but the hotel got the job done, with no complaints. The temperature control in the room worked well and the beds were comfortable. Bad: - The Front Desk staff: the staff should be wearing masks AT ALL times. I want to be assured that they care for my / their guests safety and well being. I don't care if there is no one in the lobby outside of the staff, they need to be wearing a mask. Wearing a mask is mandated by the state and needs to be followed through on by all staff. This is a poor reflection on the hotel. I would have given the hotel 4/5 but lack of mask wearing is resulting in a 2/5. The man at the front desk in the morning and the lady in the evening were not masked except for when interacting with me. - Some of the outlets in our room were worn out (plugs would fall out of the sockets). This is in room 225. - Housekeeping knocked on our door at 9 am before checkout, which is at 11. Checkout time is later in the morning, why on earth would you knock on the door to check if I am still in my room? If I was still sleeping, I would be livid. The staff member who knocked on the door was not masked either and had a poor attitude. If checkout time is 11am then why not leave me be until then, I would have understood a knock at 11, but why 2 hours before checkout?

Nice hot tub a plus. Good covid friendly sack breakfast which included Warm breakfast burritos. Nice outdoor seating to enjoy breakfast. Staff friendly & helpful. IHOP & KFC very close within walking distance for dinner.

We stayed here a while back and it was a great stay. We were coming back to town, but it said there weren't any rooms available online for this hotel, and same with most of the others in town, so we made a non-refundable reservation at Rodeway Inn. It was disgusting there, and we left after 5 minutes to ask Best Western if they had any cancellations - we were able to stay here and we were very relieved to step foot in a clean room - no syringe caps in the parking lot, no tweakers lurking outside the doors, no boogers on the sheets, plenty of TP and clean carpets. Thanks for meeting our expectations yet again.

Room was very clean (though that didn't stop me from doing my usual checks and wiping everything down with disinfectant wipes given the current COVID situation). Check-in was easy, and there are marks on the ground to ensure people stay at a distance, as well as plastic between you and the staff. I was only here for a night, and it suited my purposes fine - felt safe, clean, and no other issues apart from the TV cable not working.

I thought a clean room would be an high expectation during this time of COVID-19, knowing that the pool would be closed and breakfast would be different. As soon as we walked in our room it smelled awful and was not cleaned properly. Receptionist let me know they didn't have staff on board to clean the room so asked if we'd like another room. We didn't go through the trouble of changing rooms because we were thinking if they couldn't clean this room why would another room be different. After staying one night feeling disgusted, I asked to cancel our next night stay and the front desk cancelled the next night with no charge and was apologetic.

It amazes me that a business would choose to offend half of it's customers. The food server was wearing a filthy duster as well as a Trump hat. His scragglier beard made me wonder him much of it ended up in the food. Then the biscuits and gravy had NO MEAT! Cheap excuse for food! Won't even consider this place again!

The pool at this hotel is very well kept and nice. However, there was a mistake made on my reservation but staff was very friendly. Just know that you will have to be patient and check in may take longer than expected.

Great rate, breakfast and location. Very helpful manager and staff. Room was excellent except the heating unit. Once the room got to temp it just kept on going. Made the room a little uncomfortable at times.

As you drive up, you see what appears to be an older property, which it is. Do NOT let that discourage you. Best Westerns can range widely from very poor to very nice. This one, once you are inside the bulding(s) is the latter. Though the buildings are older, the owners have kept renovations updated. I was very surprised with how modern the lobby is, and the rooms match. The breakfast is your typical extended continental breakfast, with scrambled eggs, sausage, all the cereals, the added touch of 6 different toppings for oatmeal, breads, pastries, etc. The pool is unusually large for a motel of this size, and enclosed. Though it is on the main road, the large and long building on the back of the property has rooms from which you will not be bothered by road noise. The room rates were surprisingly low for the quality found at this property.

Clean, good breakfast, easy/fast check in and out. My grandkids love the indoor pool and hot tub! We visit Monte Vista often to visit our grandkids and they love staying in Alamosa Best Western because of the breakfast and pool!

Great place to stay while traveling to the mountains. All the amenities you need and more. Indoor pool, large clean room, hot water, WiFi etc. Good full breakfast with hot items eggs, meat, gravy, waffles and yogurt too. Convenient parking too.

Breakfast was great, waffles to scrambled eggs to cereal and oatmeal. Pool was wonderful, heated and great for exercising out those road miles. Also a work out room for getting your steps in. Great and friendly staff.

All aspects of our one night stay were great. Great service, room, and breakfast. The hi-speed internet was very good. The weather was below zero but the room stayed quite comfortable. The check in/out was quick and friendly. We will return when in the area.

This particular Hotel in Alamosa was more than comfortable as they exceeded all of my expectations each day. The staff was kind, thoughtful and very professional. I am looking forward to Future visits.

Had good parking food was good the hot tub n pool was great and all in all no complaints enjoyed our stay the price wasn't expensive i couldn't connect to the wifi but that's ok and any pokemon go fans there are 2 pokespins there so that was nice :)

Everything was clean, comfortable, and quiet. Even though the property is along the main road, rooms in the back building were quiet with both road noise and did not hear other guests. Room was clean, large, and comfortable. Breakfast was typical with waffles, hot, and cold items.

Driving up to this property, we were a bit leery ... our first thought was "what a dump." However, the lobby was very stylish, employees friendly, (complimentary cookies very yummy!), and rooms large & very nicely renovated. Outside of the buildings could do with a major renovation. Great location near Adams State University.

A nice place to stay overnight. We stayed there while we had been visiting the Great Sand Dunes National Park. There were some noisy people around us but at least quieted down at night. We were able to park near our room and the continental breakfast was nice. Staff nice also.

The motel is clean & well run. The room was comfortable & everything worked well. Front desk staff very willing to print directions to local attractions & dinner location. Good free continental breakfast.

We arrived in the evening and left in the morning after breakfast that was included. The room was fine and the Hotel was busy. The staff was friendly. The pool was closed for repairs during our visit.

Not a bad place to stay to go to Great Sand Dunes National Park only about 30 miles away. Other hotels in the area not worth staying at. The staff especially the man at the front desk was very helpful at the hotel and we had a good full breakfast. The problem was that the sign on the hot tub said broken on Wed. and was stated it will be fixed by Friday. I was all excited to use the hot tub Friday night and guess what still broken. I also wanted to use the washer and dryer after almost a week on the road but there was only one washer and one dryer and both were being used continuously. Other than these issues the pool was really nice and the room was fine.

This was a good hotel to stay with a full breakfast nice staff. We were going to the great sand dunes national park and needed to be in the vicinity. There was a place next to the park but booked. I am glad we stayed here even if we had to drive about 30 miles. The place closer to the park was not as nice.

This best Western is a pretty decent hotel it has a lot for the money and actually is one of the better hotels in Alamosa. Peak summer season they can get a little expensive but all in all a good value for what you get, breakfast was pretty good the pool and a hot tub are good....

We came to Alamosa for a family trip to the Great Sand Dunes. We found this Best Western in nearby Alamosa and decided to stay here since it was close by, reasonably priced and had a pool and full breakfast.

We spent four nights and were very happy. Beautiful and well kept dog space. Wonderful breakfast. Cleaning staff were great. All staff friendly and helpful. Only complaint was that it was noisy late evening and early morning.

I had my dog with me and he was welcome. The room was very clean and comfortable. Dog restroom area was close and clean. Staff was nice at the front desk and housekeeper was friendly. Breakfast was good with a nice selection. Only complaint was the pillows were very large and stiff. Bring your own for your comfort.

Wonderful grass and clean dog area just outside office. Has flowers and plastic bags. Nice views of sunset from our room in back on 2nd floor. Restaurants right next door so handy. Easy to get in and lots of parking space. Has big indoir pool solar room.

Situated alongside the highway it's a good place to stay for convenience we were visiting the cumbres railroad and doing a trip . Room was spacious though a bit dated Good shower warm air heating which we used . Bed comfortable awful pillows. Everything in the States is big so why such small hard cushion sized pillows . Breakfast very good plenty of selection

I was driving across country and needed a place to crash. The hotel is a bit dated, but rooms are comfortable and clean. Only issue I had was the tub didn't drain. But that happens and I would still recommend the property.

It's an older style motel but was clean, everything worked okay and was reasonably priced compared to the newer hotels further out of town when we booked. It's not far from downtown Alamosa though a little trek on foot if you want to walk to the brew pub like we did. It was a good base for seeing Great Sand Dunes and Cumbres & Toltec.

I must admit I wasn't expecting much for our one night stopover, however, they made an effort to get us adjoining rooms and the rooms were huge, clean and well maintained. We had a quiet and comfortable night's sleep. The breakfast was what you'd expect, not amazing, but adequate.

Check in was efficient and friendly, lobby area is nice and bright. Room was fairly spacious, comfortable, could have been cleaner, and felt dated, really needs an upgrade. We were at the end of the block of rooms in a ground floor pool, WiFi was non existent. We had to stand outside to get any internet service at all. Breakfast area was far too small and busy for the size of hotel, and the location is on a busy road, which was noisy from early morning. About 20 mins walk to a limited downtown for food, although ihop and KFC are next door. The brewpub in town is pretty good, but 20 mins walk away. Given location to town, and tired decor, I'm not sure I'd stay again.

I stayed at this property three years ago and promissed never to return. But there were no other available hotels in the San Dunes Area. Horrible and terrible should suffice but details? arrival: front desk staff was on the phone with another client for 8 minutes. We had travelled 7 hrs and wanted to get to the room and relax. Once checked in decided to go for a chocolate chip cookie...this was the size of 3 quarters put side by side: stale and old. got to the room : two light bulbs did not work. went to shower DISGUSTING...I took a picture. I showered with my socks on pillows were big and hard. Bed covers were light, had to add towels at night to keep warm. I also took a picture of the bathroom sink...decided to close my eyes while brushing my teeth. AC is old and loud..we got very little sleep Breakfast: only 8 tables for a full hotel. Next time I would rather sleep in the car

We always enjoy staying at BW because we know it will be clean, convenient to our travel plans. The breakfast was yummy. The staff goes out of their way to help you in anyway. 5 stars to staff!! Only thing we are not use to is an inside pool and hot tub. But, Colorado weather is not like our California weather.

We were traveling across Colorado and ended up heading to the Great Sand Dunes National Park in Alamosa, Colorado. I was on a photography shoot and brought some of my family and their dog on the trip. We booked last minute and had a hard time finding pet-friendly lodging. We found the West Western in Alamosa and booked it. We didn't have high expectations, but were pleasantly pleased with our hotel and all of its accommodations. Our stay included doggie biscuits at check in, a friendly front desk attendant, hot breakfast, solar pool, fitness center, easy parking, access to the entire town and a dog walking area with doggie waste bags readily available. This hotel was one of the best surprises in lodging that I have had in quite a while. I give it an "A" for just about everything. It is a bit dated, but very well kept up.

BW is a wonderful place to stay, with great beds, friendly staff, and comfortable room. Also I used my "Amazon Fire Stick" in most room with great success. We returned home after 11 days and 10 nights well rested because of the comfort offered by BW's facilities,

Our visit to Alamosa was really great, in no small way, because of the wonderful hospitality shown us by owner and his staff at the Best Western. From the moment we checked in to our check out, everything was was spot on.

we had a wonderful stay. staff was friendly caring responsive. breakfast kitchen was clean, organized , well stocked with wholesome choices, including fresh bananas, Tables and prep surfaces were always spotless. always replentished and fresh. staff was sharp and wore uniforms. Rooms always clean and well appointed. Maria, the evening manager was very friendly, cheerful and helpful. She had a printed restaurant guides available. Andy, the daytime manager, was super friendly and had local knowledge to answer almost any question. they had an outdoor seating/barbeque area, shaded and beautifly landscaped. All & all a pleasant stay in homey and welcoming experience.

Room was exceptionally large and and well-furnished for price point, with very comfortable beds and good supply of "like new"towels! Lobby, lounging and breakfast area were bright, clean, and modern. Large indoor pool and hot tub on property. While not situated in resort type setting, a pleasant drive in the verdant Alamosa Valley, very near to Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve, will bring you to a complete mini vacation resort in itself: outdoor pools for the whole family, every type of food from fast (Mile Deep Grill) through upscale cuisine (The Greenhouse). Plus,Greenhouse is adults only,indoors with natural daytime light, plants that would be the envy of many botanical gardens, warm swimming pool and a choice of hotter soaking tubs, sauna, upscale food and dining area. Pick your spot and enjoy from 10 AM to 10 PM in the warm spring, summer and early fall months!

Came from Arizona for a visit and really enjoyed our stay here. The rooms looked remodeled and updated. The decor was modern and pleasing. Our room was spacious and complete with large refrigerator, microwave and large TV. The bed was comfortable and especially liked the lofty pillows. We will stay here again.

This motel was great.... especially given the remote area and small town. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room and grounds were clean, well stocked with amenities, and welll maintained. Enjoyed a nice full breakfast as well.

This motel was very clean, both in rooms and on grounds. We had a room with 2 queen beds. Very spacious room and easy to maneuver with 4 people. Great breakfast. Motel centrally located to College campus and downtown. Pool was clean and well maintained. All of this for a very reasonable price. Front desk cordial and welcoming. I felt like they appreciated my business and patronage. I was treated as a guest, not a tourist. This is only place I would stay in Alamosa. You should also.

The hotel itself is very nice, recently remodeled, with spacious and well-appointed rooms. It is in a good location next to the university and despite being on a main highway is quiet. But the breakfast room! It is tiny and totally inadequate for the size of the hotel. The handful of tables are quickly filled, and most people have to stand and eat; the extreme crowding does not make for a good experience. Access to the buffet can be almost impossible because of the crowds. The breakfast room needs to be greatly expanded.

Friendly staff but the hotel is dated. The room was clean but the beds were not comfortable. Average complimentary breakfast. Easy access to businesses in town. They do recognize the BW rewards members but there are no upgrades.

This hotel is the best value in town and offers clean, spacious accommodations. The lobby Breakfast area is nice and there is a variety of hot food offered - real scrambled eggs and sausage patties plus biscuits and gravy and waffles! If you don't choose this hotel, you are missing a good deal. The landscaping patio area is also attractive and reflects the efforts of the owners.

This was likely the best hotel of its type that I've stayed in; recently updated rooms, quiet A/C, nice pool & hot tub, guest laundry, good breakfast; really nothing at all to complain about. Great place from which to visit Sand Dunes NP.

I really like this hotel, we stay there every year during Pioneer Days in my little hometown of Manassa. The breakfast is good, we love the pool, overall a very nice place. The bed is a little bit too hard, but you can't please everyone in that department I guess.

Front desk person on 7/11/19 (Brown boy) was very quick and professional and giving all info to all individual guests. I think his name was D (not sure). Breakfast was fair enough. Property building looks old but rooms were great and clean. Probably as this prices breakfast should be with more items. Nice motel

When i checked in D was very helpful and accommodating. He was very good at greeting guests. D also suggested a restaurant and that Mexican restaurant was amazing. Best place to stay in alamosa clean rooms and good pool.

We used the Best Western as our base to visit Great Sand Dunes NP, and were very pleased with our choice. The room was spacious and comfortable, the breakfast was quite good, and we really enjoyed the hot tub and pool at the end of the day. We will definitely stay here again if we return to Alamosa

Front desk was no responsive when we checked in. Stood and waited in front of them as they texted on their cell phone. Breakfast was cold, scrambled eggs were not edible, bacon was limp and cold. Just very poor service all the way around. Never stay there again.

All this motel needs to make it great would be to get some new beds. Our beds were lumpy,saggy, and not at all comfortable. However, the rest of the facility is top notch. We really appreciated the quiet air conditioner.

If you are okay with hearing a train rumbling though your window at 2:00am, spiders crawling though your room, and a disgusting beat down swimming pool than this is the place for you to go!This is probably the worst night of sleep I have ever had, beds are so uncomfortable, everything is so outdated and the room stinks the only complamant I have is the breakfast other than that DO NOT COME TO THIS MOTEL!

I had a very nice stay at this property last week. Everything was great. The woman who checked me in was nice. There are a few places to eat within walking distance and many more within a very short drive. Inside and out, the property is very well maintained. The room was completely clean, and everything was in good working order. Behind the main building there's a green area with a grill and picnic tables that's small but kept nicely manicured. Indoor pools and spas in older hotels can be recipes for disaster, but this area was as well-maintained as everything else. If you need something to do at night, there's a movie theater nearby. The breakfast was fine. (The sausage patties were good and not the kind with the weird texture and chemical aftertaste.) I already know when I'll be back.

While on vacation we spent 1 night.We were on a motorcycle you can pull right up in front of your door that a plus!! They have a train across the street, but it didn't bother us at all. The pool and hot tub we did not utilize. We did need to do laundry but it was always busy and I wasn't waiting in there for hours to wait for someone to finish. They only had 1 washer 1 dryer I got up at 4:00 a.m. and did it. The breakfast was good!! Room was clean.

The pool and hot tub were great. Tip - get away from the road!!! Lots of road noise. Walls were thin and we could hear some of the conversation next door. Bed was comfortable. Staff were friendly. Chocolate chip cookies on arrival - you got my heart right there. :) Time to ditch all the plastic in the breakfast area. Breakfast was acceptable. I appreciated the wall dispensaries for shampoo etc, except they were empty so that didn't help. Clean and comfortable. Appreciated the fridge, desk and chair space. Excellent value.

Room was cold when we came in but beds and room were clean and the service desk was polite. Within walking distance to KFC and IHOP. Not a fan of Alamosa though. The area looks like where we're from landscape-wise but the town is not somewhere I would move to.

The pool was closed when we were there but if it was open it looked beat up.The room was clean but before we went to bed we saw a few spiders on the walls and ceiling.The bathroom area was extremely small and it was hard to share with a family.The shower had no shampoo and body wash.The location was bad because there is a train track across the street and 3 times in the night trains woke us up.The breakfast was good but other then that I am not staying at best western again.

Stayed for a night on a road trip when visiting nearby Great Sand Dunes NP situated on the main road which is very busy & our room was right at the end of the block next to the road so it was quite noisy. If you are a light sleeper ask for a room in the far block away from the road. Other than that the room was large, clean & comfortable. Breakfast good. Coin op laundry useful. Staff friendly & welcoming. A few fast food places within walking distance otherwise 3 mins in car to Main Street - several eating options. Large Safeway/Walgreens a couple of minutes away in car.

This Best Western is fairly common layout with rooms in 2 story blocks L shaped around a frre car park. Where it really scored was the rooms themselves, our's was spacious and well furnished with a really comfortable bed, ample seating, a good TV, fridge and coffee making facilities. The free breakfast on offer in the seperate reception block was also very good. I'd recommend this hotel if you are planning to stay in this area.

I booked this hotel, because I was in Alamosa for a week for school. The staff members that I met were pleasant. Breakfast was the same thing every day. This bothered me a bit as I wish that they would have switched up the meat and the potatoes. The bed was comfortable except for the pillows. They were short and fat and ended up making my neck ache. The room was clean but the tub could have used some more TLC. I used the hot tub several times, but the last time I went in the chemicals were so strong that I stared coughing nonstop and my eyes were burning. I never went back in after that. My biggest issue with this place (and I would have given 4 stars) was that the one time I wanted my room cleaned the housekeeper touched/moved my toiletries and food items, hung my bathing suit up, folded my dirty clothes up, and drew a picture in my personal notebook. I talked to the front desk and was told "sorry." Nothing was ever said to me again about it. But it made me fee very uncomfortable and violated to have my personal belongings touched. I was also leery about the doors leading to the parking lot but it was ok. Everything is in a separate building and it can get quite noisy.

This was a very well kept property. It's nothing fancy, but the bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. Shower pressure was fair, but the bath area was clean. Breakfast was a definite plus! Staff was very pleasant and helpful.

A great place to stay. The room was very nice and clean. The beds were comfortable. Bathroom was nice and clean, towels were large and soft. TV, flat screen, worked well with a large selection of channels. The breakfast was very good but a little cramped. The swimming pool and hot tub were great and very clean. A very nice family place.

It is a well maintained buildings in this hotel. Rooms were very clean. Kids enjoyed the pool and was very happy with the pool. The employee name D was fantastic in serving guests and was very eager to help the guest. Perfect stay

Nice courteous friendly staff. My nephew used the hot tub. The breakfast was quick & good. The location was good for us, because we were going to Antonito to ride the Cumbres & SToltec RR. We drove around town a little bit to see part of the college campus, because my nephew is a college student, & we wanted to see another school.

Clean place to stay. Breakfast is a bust so was the bed. I booked all my hotels this trip 45 days to include breakfast some really stepped up to the plate. This was an out. The bed was better than most but still was hard and uncomfortable.

We did not have a reservation, but the desk clerk was able to find us a very nice ground floor room. He even recommended a very good Pizza Resturant for us. The breakfast was good and the area was clean and well maintaned

We stayed in this Best Western for three nights on a trip through the southwest. The accommodations were clean and spacious. The fairly standard breakfast was well done. The service in particular was outstanding: The housekeeping staff did a great job keeping things orderly.

We had forgot to make a reservation, but they had a room and it was very good. They even recommended a very good Pizza place for us. Breakfast was good and area was very clean. Every thing was very satisfactory.

Clean rooms comfy beds cable tv could be better keep pool and hot tub open until 10pm. Breakfast was good and hot well kept property with nice little park area in middle of parking lot. Access to hwy a little busy during day very handy to get to Adams State and any stores.

Staff were friendly and welcoming with good overall customer service. Breakfast was fresh and hot with many items to choose from. The green chili was a nice “local” touch! Although the motel structure is older it is obvious that it's upkeep undergoes continuous reinvestment.

The front desk staff are excellent - friendly, helpful, kind! We stayed here the end of Feb and again end-March, while visiting our daughter who is in Alamosa for a few months. They serve up a very nice breakfast - again were impressed with the staff responsible for the breakfast who kept the area tidy and supplied. Enjoyed getting a hot cup of tea in the evenings. Just a nice, clean, comfortable place to stay! Were also impressed with all the good restaurants in Alamosa - San Luis Valley Pizza, Thai Hut, Calvillos, the Rubi Slipper, Milagros Coffee Shop. Good food and a friendly town!

They were pet friendly. We would have been able to leave our dog in the room unattended, though we did not. I enjoyed the hot tub twice. My family wished it was warmer though and only used it once. Decent sized rooms. Didn't feel like we were tripping over each other. We were able to fill up on the breakfast before our big adventure to see the sites.

Everything was great with the room, new furniture, fixtures, very clean and smelled nice. And then I went in the bathroom. The tub and sink area was clean, but then I saw the shower curtain. I swear it had never been laundered - ever. When plastic liners at home get to this point and don't clean up, they get tossed which is what needs to be done with this thing. Just dont understand investing in a great upgrade to an older property and then try short cutting on cleaning the shower curtain?! Stained items should be tossed - period. Curtains should be washed after every checkout.

Get an upstairs room for sure. Place fills up at night. Walk to eateries. Rooms just average, but clean. The breakfast seemed to be a winner. I would stay again at this place. I think pool was closed for some reason.

It was a great hotel located within 20 min walking of downtown. It was also located next to fast food, grocery store, and dine in restuarant. Had a great small town charm. Would defintely stay at this locating again!

We spent the weekend and the room and service was great. The staff was helpful and always had a smile for you. Only complaint is that the indoor pool was too cold to enjoy, the hot tub was perfect Will choose to stay here if we have the chance.

I stayed here this weekend and it was a great stay. Any issue we had was handled right away. From the first time I called to checkout was great! The guy that answered the phone (Andy I think was his name) was helpful and cared about making my trip affordable! There is a small area to walk the dog with dog cleanup bags provided. The pool was a little too cold for the kids to enjoy and the manager on duty agreed and adjusted it a little. It was still too cold for winter swimming but I'm sure it would feel great in the summer. It was clean and so was the hot tub. The kids were able to enjoy that many times over our stay. The room even being a pet friendly room was very clean and had everything we needed. The person on duty even let me use the breakfast area to have my daughter's birthday cake since there really wasn't enough room to do that in the room. Having a daughter in college in Alamosa I'm here often and this has by far been our favorite place! We will be back!

We called ahead and got a senior discount. Which was great. But then they gave us an upstairs room. So give the seniors an upstairs room. We had to climb a cold windy staircase with our suitcases up to the room. Our room was only a few yards from the highway. So the traffic noise was deafening. The room also was an adjoining room. The drunk guy in the room next to us yelled on his phone for two and a half hours. We could hear every word through the door. We could also hear him pee. This is February. And it is not first season. The morptel was about two thirds empty. There was an abundance of first floor rooms that are secluded from the road. Why not use them instead of giving your few customers the crap rooms? It was not particularly clean or spacious. Even with the discount it was high priced. The only good thing was the breakfast. But we would never go back and definitely do not recommend.

I have stayed at the Alamosa Best Western many times over the past 9 years. If you are needing a "dog friendly" accomodation there is no better place in the entire valley. The rooms are always clean and updated, the grounds are kept in impeccable appearance. The pool and hot tub are always at good temperature but do close a little early for our hours but they still offer a safe and good time. Management is always courteous and helpful. We stop here overnight on our trip to Durango. Having stayed at many Comfort Inns and Suites, this was rated a three star. It is very “ SEASONED “ and didn't compare to the company's standards that has been set forth; this is probably the reason why after checking in, I turned a saw a sign on the table that as of March 2019, the property is changing over to a Quality Inn . This property is desperately in need of repairs. Breakfast was fair, staff was excellent. The price is more than what you get.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable place to stay -- not fancy, but like home! If you want a restful and relaxed place to spend the night, the Alamosa Best Western is a great, affordable choice.

We were on a road trip and did not have prior reservations, however, we have come to rely on the reputation of Best Western and the one in Alamosa did not disappoint us. "D" was the front desk clerk who checked us in. He was very friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and the breakfast the next morning was very good. The hotel staff had a smile on their face and were busy attending to the guests needs. We would stay at this Best Western again.

Hotel was well located on our way to the great sand dunes,had a standard room being clean and well equiped, and it offers a nice garden to sit outside taking breakfast in the sun, we didn't try the indoor pool being available

I will stay here again. It is a good value for the money. It has semi truck parking which I have to have when I teavel for work. The staff is great and the rooms are nice. It is convenient to get to. I will definitely stay here again.

We stopped here because of favorable reviews on Trip Advisor. It didn't measure up! The room smelled, was somewhat clean and very tired. The worst part was the LARGE firm pillows on each bed. We have usually run into medium or choice of pillows in hotels, but not here, big and FIRM. There was also nothing close by for restaurants, my mistake. The front office people were very nice, but if you want a good relaxing sleep, try someplace else.

While visiting the area attractions stayed a night at Alamosa we chose the best Western and it met our expectations, the rooms were clean all the equipment inside worked and the staff were helpful and friendly. The breakfast they have in the morning has a wide variety of items nothing fancy but we didn't expect anything fancy. Would recomend this facility.

Don't let the exterior of the hotel discourage you! The lobby and rooms are all well-appointed and modern. The room was large, comfortable, and well laid out. The staff was excellent with questions about dining around town.

They made sure I got an accessible room since there is no elevator to the second floor The bed was very firm and comfortable to my liking not soft that you sink into. Shower had enough pressure to get shampoo out of your hair. You do not have to run around in the shower to get wet. They can not help the age of the visitor to the pool and spa so it gets really loud in the enclosed pool room. After they left it was very enjoyable.

Very spacious, pet friendly well appointed rooms. Nice central grassy area for walking dogs. Noisy location on main road and other guests. External corridors. Room was clean in general but carpet was very dirty ... had to wear flip flops at all times.

Very friendly staff, very helpful, nice clean room, nice pool area, had nice hot tub, breakfast was basic but good and well stocked was a nice place to stay and good location if going to see the sand dunes national park

Spent two nights here with no issues. The room was clean, the staff was friendly and the breakfast was good. Breakfast area is large enough for a lot of families. It was well maintained as an attendant kept the area clean and well stocked. Nice choice of both hot and cold items as well. The room was standard for this type of hotel. It was comfortable with a good working A/C unit, something important in July's heat. I would stay here again and you should give it a try if in the area!

My family and I stayed here after visiting the Sand Dunes National Park. We arrived later than check in and were greeted warmly by the team member who thanked me for being a customer and offered two bottles of water and snacks. Property is spacious. We were on the second floor walk up and were pleasantly surprised by the accommodations. Rooms were very spacious and super clean with soap and hand cream dispensers. Great value, great little town and very happy we chose this Best Western for the night.

Overall there is a friendly and helpful staff and the rooms were clean. The beds were not particularly comfortable. The room had the outdated window mounted air-conditioner that either blows noisily too cold or not at all.

Friendly desk clerk who sent us to a great Mexican restaurant; check-in was easy. The room was spacious, clean, quiet, and perfect for our one night stay. Breakfast was nothing special, but adequate. Would definitely stay there again.

I arranged a tour for 19 friends, and the staff, especially Andy, was very helpful in dealing with constantly changing number of participants and needed rooms. The rooms were nice, the a/c worked well, and we all felt like the staff truely wanted us to have an enjoyable stay. An added plus is that when we wanted something a little more than the free breakfast, an IHOP is a one minute walk away. When I next visit the area I won't take a chance on another hotel, I'll stick with the Best Western, a sure thing!

This is quiet and right next to an IHOP and other restaurants are nearby as well. It's quiet, has a great area for dogs with a big grassy circle in the middle. They are welcoming to dogs. They have a good hot breakfast as well.

The person checking us in was very nice and friendly. We asked about near by restaurants and she was very helpful. The motel was very clean. The pool was very nice. We found the bed mattress a bit saggy, but we are used to more of a firm mattress. Azul the owner was very polite, caring, and considerate.

The rooms were immaculate, although I would have preferred a soap bar rather than a liquid soap dispenser in the bathroom and shower. That is the reason I rated this hotel as very good rather than excellent. The breakfast service was excellent. An attendant was available and kept an eye on the breakfast items and made sure they were quickly replenished, and that tables were quickly wiped down. The decor was pleasant.

We stayed here while visiting Great Sand Dunes National Park. Our room was quiet, clean, and comfortable, and had a lot of nice touches we didn't expect based on the price. There's a small fitness center and a pool, as well as a picnic area. The breakfast is the usual selection of items; we found plenty to eat. Friendly staff.

This was the perfect location to stay if you are visiting the Great Sand Dune National Park. The hotel was on a main road and easy to locate. The hotel is well kept and breakfast was good. A short drive to shopping and restaurants. My only recommendation is that if you don't want to carry your bags request a room on the first floor. There wasn't an elevator so we had to carry our bags up the steps. It's abot a 40 minute drive to the park.

The front clerk name tag was D. He was very helpful and nice to deal with. Informative and suggested a local place for dinner and we took his advice. The grounds looked clean and pool area as well. It's not a 5 star but exceeded my expectations on the room. I can't say much about the breakfast but they do offer a hot free breakfast in the morning and coffee all day and night.

I felt our room had been updated compared to the review written in 2014. When we checked in there was lemon ice water & cookies which was a welcome sight as we were tired & thirsty. The breakfast provided a nice variety. The room was clean & spacious on the 2nd floor. There is no elevator so the stairs were a challenge with our luggage. There is a KFC next door which was handy if you didn't want to drive anywhere.

Ask when the hotel was last updated, That might help you make your decision. Some slight updating would make this a more pleasant stay along with ear plugs to silence the HWY 160 sounds. Great service from all hotel staff. Nice breakfast. Location provided easy access to businesses and services.

The BW Alamosa was a nice hotel and our stay was good. The hotel was full and the parking was limited. Breakfast was very good. My credit card was charged an additional 4 times with fees incurred for reversal of erroneous charges.

How the Best Western helped us. Our family had its share of catastrophic events and we all needed to travel a great distance to arrive at Alamosa Colorado for the funeral of our mother, and bringing along a very ill daughter who desperately needed to attend her mother's funeral. It was a last wish, though difficult to do. We arrived at Best Western on May 11, 2018 with only two reservations and a motor home to stay in. Though full, they made us feel at home and did everything right. It does not end there. On May 12, AFTER CHECKOUT, we went to the church and found that the pictures of our mother had been lost! We searched everywhere to find an internet source so we could print off the internet. In Alamosa Colorado, we could find NOTHING open, except Best Western, who had no duty to us now, and, were very busy. Yet Maria, at the front desk, in a very kind way, accommodated us with the exceptional finding and printing off a printer that is not ordinarily used for the public. This, was a special good deed and will be remembered.

Pretty nice hotel just off the highway. Very close to the activities we were there to attend. The breakfast was really excellent. Hot eggs, sausage, and a home made green chili. Plus all the other goodies. The organization of the breakfast bar was a bit confusing though.

This property stood out among the several we stayed at during a two week trip. The location was easy to find, there were restaurants a plenty in the vicinity and the staff was most helpful and efficient. The room was spacious and comfortable & the wi-fi worked like a charm. A great value!

Our king bed room at the Alamosa Inn was very spacious and nicely appointed. The manager at the front desk was friendly and very helpful, and even ran over to our room when he noticed us struggling a bit to figure out the key card. The entire Inn was lovely and the breakfast was good. This Inn is a great value, one of the nicest we stayed in on a 2 week trip out West and one of the lowest prices.

The price was right and the room was clean. The pillows were over full and uncomfortable. Breakfast was plentiful and the area clean. While we were having breakfast the housekeeper had come into our room and stripped the beds and taken all of our towels and things that needed washing. ( we had not yet checked out ). While I can understand her wanting to get all the laundry in the wash, it felt intrusive and that it crossed the line. Also she had left the door unlocked and open with the bar in the door so anyone could have come in. It is for these reasons that I give it such low marks.

This pet friendly hotel exceeded our expectations with a very comfortable bed. We stayed several days while house shopping and the staff was very helpful. We had to extend our stay and the staff worked hard to accommodate our staying in the same room.

We've stayed in Alamosa several times and have always driven by the Best Western. Our last trip there we decided to give it a try because the price was so reasonable. It was awesome! The hotel staff was so friendly and accommodating. Our room was exceptionally clean. It has now become our place to stay when we return to Alamosa.

not bad for the price we paid! best western has changed a lot from when i first stayed in one a long while back! lots of updated decor and this location was pretty spacious! i would stay here again! thanks best western!

This hotel is run very well. You can tell the person/people running this hotel take it seriously but often have a friendly smile on their faces. This almost takes it to an excellent rating from me but I spose I'm a tough rater. Don't hesitate to stay here from my experience!

This motel seems to be a good place to stay... But the truth the housekeepers don't change the bedding everyday like it should be changed it is only changed if they see a dirty spot on the bedding and still all the blankets don't get changed just that one dirty blanket so therefore the guests are still sleeping in dirty blankets who knows when the last time they have been washed. HOW DISGUSTING is that?? VERY DISGUSTING ??

Our housekeepers do change bedding. If a guest stays more than 2 night, we make the bed up the first night and change the bedding there after. If the guest requests having their linens changed, we do it. We have an outstanding laundry employee and outstanding housekeepers. if we overlooked something then we apologize, The fact that this complaint doesn't have a name attached leaves a lot to be considered.

The breakfast is definitely worth getting up for, and everyone will do everything they can to insure that your stay goes well. The room is nice and I slept well, which is rare for a hotel for me. I only wish the pool hours were a little longer.

We were impressed by the room. It was spotless and recently remodeled. The staff was friendly and breakfast was much better than your average fair. Scrambled eggs were made fresh and the the green chili was a welcome addition. Definitely worth more than the price paid.

This place is a two story, older motel. The front desk receptionist was very nice. The rather large room was very quiet with a comfortable bed. The pillows were all a little too thick for us and there was a smear of blood on the bathroom door....otherwise the room was very clean. I don't think they have elevators, which might be a concern for someone. Very reasonably priced.

The staff was very nice, easy check in and out. The rooms were clean, beds comfortable but needs some updating. We liked the dog area and it was pretty clean. The breakfast was included and it was pretty decent variety. Eggs, sausage, waffles, cereal...etc. We would stay here again.

Room was very nice and clean. Staff was very friendly. Very pet friendly. Nice area to walk the dog. We always pick up after our dog and it appears most but not all others do...Room was quiet despite the fact that the in is close to the highway.

The room was very nice, and the morning breakfast was great. Didn't hear much road noise. The beds were comfortable, the shower was great, and the place was clean and bright. The staff was very friendly. The only issue was that the place was not very full, yet we were put in a room right next to what appeared to be the only other occupied room on the second floor at the time. At least they were quiet... I hope we were.

We had a great stay here! The front desk staff was not especially welcoming, but our room was spacious and clean. The beds were comfy, the pillows were decent. The breakfast was honestly great! Biscuits and gravy, sausage, potatoes, and mini waffles with so many topping options. We had noisy neighbors (#thinwalls) but that's a risk of hotels. We with definitely stay here again!

We stayed one night here whilst traveling. It is situated on a pretty busy road but the noise isn't too bad. We were given a room with an adjoining door (not in use), unfortunately because of this we could hear everything from next door. So much so their noisy A/C unit woke me up at 3am! The room itself is pretty tired but well equipped. The pool and breakfast were very good. Not sure I would return though.

This is an older BW on the west side of Alamosa. Easy parking, easy highway access, quiet. Friendly staff, nice breakfast area. Though the hotel is older, the lobby, fitness center, pool area, and breakfast area appear to be newer. Electric outlets available for those with plug-in or electric vehicles.

What made this Best Western outstanding for us was the service we received upon arriving, cranky and burnt-out after a long day on the road. Maria greeted us at the front desk and happily and easily gave us the best room deal we could get. There was no waiting or weirdness, no hoops to jump through. Then, after we left our keys in our room twice while moving our stuff from the car to the room, Maria continued to be present, helpful, kind and jovial. The rooms were comfortable and spacious and clean, the beds soft and the breakfast--themed to the southwester cuisine--killed it. Express check out was worry free. We were rested and in good spirits for the next leg of the journey.

This place was recently remodeled and is a very nice place to stay. The staff is great and very attentive. It is located close to everything in town. We had a nice stay for 2 nights. No complaints. The breakfast is awesome as well.

As usual, this BW is a good value. The service is pleasant and friendly; much appreciated. The breakfast is very good, and actually has real scrambled eggs and tasty coffee; thanks for that. The room was clean, and the staff placed us in the quieter wing; again much appreciated as many construction workers depart quite early often forgetting others' sleep. The TV listings need serious updating, as those in the room are almost useless.

Hotel is nice for a quick stop. Our room key would not open the swimming pool even after getting it program more than once. The beds need to be replaced and upsides. We had two beds and it was not comfortable for family of 4. I did not sleep well and you can hear your neighbors. But the best part was breakfast! The staff was very friendly and atmosphere was welcoming. I enjoyed having dial products. Overall descent price and hotel.

On our way back to Texas and stopped here for the night. Slept great! Decent size room. Nice little park/sitting are next to office. Breakfast was hot and good! Really nice young man that was working there. He kept everything full and cleaned up!

This place was great, they were wonderful and professional and very accommodating to my dogs which is a big selling point. I highly recommend this place The breakfast was amazing. There is a nice little park for your dogs with dog bags for poop. a nice indoor pool too.

Our room was comfortable, but being on the corner squeezed in by others where people were sitting outside making us feel a bit hemmed in. Luckily there was some seating outside in a separate area as the weather was very sunny. The motel was further out of town than we expected, making it impossible to walk into town in the evenings. However, very convenient for anyone visiting the university. We ended up eating at the cheap and cheerful IHop restaurant next door. The hot breakfast was quite good, shame about paper cups, plastic plates and cutlery in American motels, but I know this is ubiquitous. Alamosa is a quiet and sleepy place, although the main road the motel is on is quite busy.

The most friendly staff. Excellent in every way. Breakfast was perfect.. Pool and hot tub were clean and a great size. Room was cleaned as requested. Staff was very attentive and caring at all times.. Reserve early.

This best Western is obviously an older building. From the outside it looks a little worn but the rooms are freshly refurbished and are really well done. The bed was really really comfortable and as others have noted the breakfast was quite decent. The remodel in the rooms Is quite modern and for the price I can Certainly recommend.

This is an older property that I would describe as clean and well-maintained. It is well-located within the city. About a ten to fifteen walk into anywhere into the commercial area, a big plus if you don't want to move the car but walk to a recommended restaurant.

We enjoyed our stay here at Best Western and look forward to coming back. The convenience of the hotel being so close to Adam State University made the commute to watch our son play a lot easier. Now with the cold weather is coming, getting to and from places quick is a must for us who are not used to the cold temperature.

Beware..Best Western will make promises about the hotel, then send a receipt contrary to the oral agreement. Even though the discussion is recorded, the written receipt will differ. You will pay extra by booking through Best Western but the arrangement will be no more accurate than if you save by booking through Orbit, Travelocity or others.

Totally unaware as to what the complaint pertains to, but if there was confusion wedo apologize for that.

I spent three nights here while in town for ASU's Homecoming celebration. I was so pleased with the service, the room, and the property. Spotlessly clean, a full-on breakfast every morning, fresh cookies in the lobby upon arrival and check-in. I needed a ride from the airport after returning the rental car and they came right out and picked me up right on time. The driver offered to drop me off downtown and pick me up later when I finished lunch. The room was quiet, updated, and very clean with attentive service! I would highly recommend this hotel!

My husband and I stayed at this hotel last week with our dog. Spacious clean room, comfortable beds, good breakfast, pet friendly. Very helpful front desk staff - good value - would definitely stay here again

Much cleaner than in the past and staff very helpful. Good price point. Breakfast was made early and available for hunters and photographers. Excellent service. Commons area upkeep very good and clean.

at this Great Western motel should I ever have the opportunity to visit Alamosa again in the future. My son and grandsons enjoyed our infrequent time together . We were glad to have the jacuzzi & pool available.

Just a two night stop over so only wanted a clean comfortable place to lay our heads. Was on a busy road but didn't hear any noise in the room. Few eating places near by that we could walk to if need be.

This hotel is excellent in every respect. The staff, room size, amenities, and over all quality far exceeded normal expectations. It is conveniently located near many eating places and is near the University. It is highly recommended.

Great accommodation in a small interesting town near the sand dunes national park. A very well maintained older quiet property. Excellent staff at check in & check out. Very well presented breakfast with good options. Well prepared list of dinner restaurant options & the nearby brew pub was excellent. We would most certainly stay here again if ever in this area.

A great place to stay, very clean and well kept property. The staff was very friendly, helpfull and professional. The rooms were very comfortabl, the grounds were well kept and overall a great experience.

Beds were too small for three large adults. We were given a room with double beds so it was too small when you have 3 adults in the room. For two adults the bed size would have been just fine. Request queen size beds prior to check in. We "assumed" that we would have a room with queen size beds.

My fiancé and I were traveling across country back home. We had broken down twice and had a horrible day, we checked into this hotel and the manager did not offer any deals and misguided me on the rate

The rooms were spacious, beds comfortable, and had great ammenities. The breakfast were very good. The hotel clerk was very good, personable, and when we had problems with the remote, he came to the room and changed out batteries for our remote. Other issues we had, we went to the pool room late and couldn't find light switchs (had a "moon lit" swim/hot tub). The bath tub had slow drain (due to all the sand from the dunes??), it was reported on way out so can't say how fast it was tended to. Overall great stay!

We have stayed here for three nights every two years for local business trip and love the facility, service and breakfast more than any other motel experience. Small park area in middle and nearby restaurants and brew pubs a nice addition.

Best Westerns have really up'd their game. They offer what the other hotels do for 2/3 of the price. I will be looking for the option to stay at Best Westerns in my business travels, to enjoy my stay and to save $$ in my budget!

We stayed here last minute after deciding we were too tired to drive back to Colorado Springs. The ninth attendant was incredibly friendly and helpful, not only bringing an air mattress to our room, but inflating it for us as well. Breakfast was great, and included more options for someone who does not eat wheat then what I typically find at these type of breakfasts.

We come to visit land properties we have in the San Luis Valley and enjoy the best of S Colorado. When possible, our friendly and easy going golden retriever travels with us. Best Western Alamosa is a great choice for a clean, modernized and well kept property that accommodates our furry family member. Easy to recommend!

Great place to stay. Rooms very nice and could park bikes right outside room door on ground floor. Food is walking distance from hotel, Free breakfast is great with lots of choices, Enclosed pool and hot tub was great after a day of riding,

Don't get me wrong, this isn't a five star hotel along the lines of a Ritz Carlton, but when judged by its online description and its price, I give this Best Western five stars. Really friendly staff, nice rooms, extremely clean, quiet, safe, convenient parking in well-lit lot, good free-WiFi and super pet friendly! (There's a small fee, but worth it just for the dog exercise area.) And the cherry on top? Not only a real free breakfast, but in addition to the usual hot breakfast fare, they have PORK GREEN CHILI...and it's awesome! I'll definitely stay here again. This hotel is a great example of why I choose Best Western hotels when I'm on the road. They've really upped their game over the past few years.

The Best Western Alamosa Inn is a typical roadside hotel, like there are many Best Western hotels across the USA. The staff upon check-inn was friendly and welcoming. Although I showed the man behind the desk my Best Western Platinum membership card, I didn't get the normal welcoming package. But to be fair, I didn't ask for it either. My room (206) was on the first floor. There is no elevator, so bags have to be brought up over the stairs. There is a small pool with hot tub on side and also a number of vending machines. The room was quite dark and a bit old. Beds were to soft for my preference and the mattress on the bed closest to the window was a bit lumpy. Time to replace that one. The room was clean enough. There was a small bathroom with a shower. The shower curtain was dirty and should have been replaced a long time ago. Everything in the room was in working condition. There is poor insulation and a number of bikers were staying in the hotel. At seven in the morning I woke up, because some of them let their motors run for at least ten minutes before departing just below my room. In the morning a free hot breakfast was provided that gives you a good start for the day. There is free WiFi as well and it was fast enough for mailing. This hotel, like the others in Alamosa is an excellent base for exploring the area and driving to the Great Sand Dunes (40 minutes drive). Overall, this hotel services well for a one or two night stay. It isn't luxurious, but that is not what you are paying for.

I despise hotels that do not tell you that there is no elevator and then give you the second floor rooms. We came here after a long day of driving only to find out that my son and I had to hump 5 people's luggage up the winding, outdoor stair case to get to our rooms. Ok, they did have the jacuzzi and pool open until midnight. Thank God I went with our group as there was not secure access to the pool area. The door was open to anyone and everyone. It was 11pm and as we were in the pool, a man just walked in on us. Never said a word. Just walked in and obviously did not come to swim. After a few minutes, I realized he must be with the hotel, but he never identified himself nor was he wearing hotel staff clothing. Had my young ones been here unattended with this man, I would have been very, very upset. I have never stayed at a BW without secure access to the pool! There is a nice picnic and open space available outside of the main office. Unfortunately some accountant must have trimmed the trees instead of an arborist. Nothing worse than hat racked, mature trees. We are loyal to BW, and when they do not have the courtesy of offering us better rooms as Rewards members, it ticks me off. On the positive side, the beds were comfortable and at least the TV offered more than 10 stations. Not sure if we would come back to this location unless it was our only option.

We apologize that your stay with us was not to your standards. We could not confirm whether your reservation was made directly with us or through a third party to identify the reason why you were not told that there was no elevator, because you only offered an email address. Our pool area closes at 10:00pm and it is noted at check-in. Nobody should have been in the pool area except staff at 11:00pm. We will look into that.

Recently stayed here with my family of 5. We got a loft room and it was HUGE. It even jad two bathrooms, which we loved. The room and facilities were clean and staff was friendly and helpful. The beds were comfy, breakfast was good, and my kids loved the indoor pool.

The rooms are large and clean. Beds are excellent! Breakfast is very good! Service is excellent! The pool and hottub is in a separate building. We found it very good as well. The motel style was a surprise but it was ok.

The rooms are very nice, clean, roomy and updated. Don't let the outward motel appearance of the property turn you off as the rooms are very nice. Less than 30 min drive from Great Sand Dunes National Park. The breakfast is also good with fresh tasting scrambled eggs/home fries/toast/yogurt, cereals, etc. vs. other places with free breakfast that offer a recently heated square pre-packaged frozen egg patties. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Green Chili at breakfast was restaurant quality. Kids had a great time at pool! Décor has been updated. Staff were all friendly and second to none. You could tell that they all love their job from manager to front desk to housekeeping. Good value for your stay.

The price at the desk was cheaper than the price at Expedia. Our two queens were clean and comfortable. The pool was well maintained and very warm! Lots of tasty choices at the continental breakfast. The staff was pleasant. This was a great place to stay!

We were in town for a college visit and the location and the good reviews the hotel had rcvd was my primary purpose for booking this . However no one mentioned the noise from the Main Street and the train tracks nearby . Plus the bed was not comfortable. The room was dated and the heating/cooling unit did not cycle on off . It was either on or off and the room would get too cold or too hot if we had to turn it off

Thank you for your recent response. We apologize for the noise of the traffic and the train. All the hotels in this area are located by Hyw. 160 and unfortunately we do not have control over the traffic and train. WE apologize if your room unit was making too much noise. If we had been informed, we would have gladly looked into it or switched rooms for you.

BW has really improved over the the last several years. This property is the old drive up style with no interior corridors if that is a problem for you, but it has bee updated and it's quite nice. Sleep quality was good, breakfast is typical BW which exceeds other comparable chains, and the staff was excellent. It has a separate indoor pool building with a new tile hot tub room - very nice all around. European style dispensers in the vanity and shower. The stay Herr was a treat for my discriminating family.

I have stayed at this hotel numerous times. I believe management has changed since my last stay, but staff and accommodations were good, convenient, and clean. However, a/c-heater unit rattled so loud every time it kicked on, it woke me. Also, pets used to be free. They now charge a $20 fee -- steep, in my travel experience.

We stayed here for a stop at Great Sand Dunes National Park. The staff was genuine, check in was fast, courteous, and we enjoyed the cookies & water at check in. Rooms very clean, and recently remodeled. The pool was very warm.

This was our first time staying here. They would not let us park our motorcycles under cover even though it rained, They did give us towels in the morning to dry them off. the breakfast room is small so we had to eat in our room. If we find our way back to the area, we will stay here again.

Our stay here was a good experience, the motel itself was good and clean--seemed well-maintained overall. Our beds were way too hard and worn out--my husband's mattress was so worn on the 1 side where you climb onto the bed that he had to sleep on the middle closer to the opposite side so he didn't automatically roll to the floor. BUT the Customer Service here is awesome, in our experience. Great staff. The pool is shallow--4 ft is deepest--and was way too warm for us in late July--don't need heated pool in late July and August most of the time! If you book room here, ask to be placed far away from highway 160 as you can. There is road noise during the night if you are closer to the road.

We stayed here for a trip to the Great Sand Dunes National Park and other sights in the area. The hotel was nice and the price was right. We enjoyed the pool after a long day of hiking. Breakfast was typical to this type of hotel.

Overall the motel was very nice. The room was clean and smelled fresh. It was nicely sized and the beds were very comfortable. We were close to the street and noise was not a problem. It is a two level building without an elevator, so ask for lower level if stairs are a problem. The included breakfast was just fine. There was a good selection of hot and cold foods. The only problem I had was with my credit card billing. The motel put a $100 hold on my card, besides my room charge. They said this was for pet or smoking damage. I've never had a motel do this before. Then they tried to tell me my bank did this automatically, but my bank said they do not do this unless the vender requests it. The hold came off eventually but I did not like how they handled the issue.

Had a great stay at this hotel and always had at the Best Westerns. Comfy beds,nice clean rooms and good food. I will stay there again. All my friends were happy with their rooms also. We had breakfast in the lounge which had a variety of breakfast foods that very very good. Air conditioning was set just right since it was around 100 degrees outside.

300 mile drive there. 15-20 min wait for the ONE CLERK who was waiting on 2 other check ins, responding to complaint from an existing costumer as to the week long broken washing machine (I took my dirty cloths 2000 miles home to wash), and answering phone calls during costumer transactions including my own. I tried to cancel my stay after electing to "camp it"- was told by the clerk: 1) "24 hour cancel policy" 2) "no manager on site- he has to allow this as you reserved through AAA and he has to decide if he wants to give them their commission or not or allow you to cancel". I pointed out: 1) if manager doesn't arrive until the next day, as I was informed then when does the 24 hours start?, 2) it is not my problem who gets their "cut" as the $130 bill comes to me, 3) my plan to contact AAA and inquire as to the truth of this claim as if true then beneficial NOT to use AAA and relinquishing MY control of canceling a reservation that I am unhappy with. Clerk only repeated same "I only work here, you have to talk to manager TOMORROW". Tomorrow?! $130 a night?! One clerk? Broken washing machine? "Ghetto" location? Inability to address a costumer issue until next day? Coffee maker with no drawer for coffee to go in? "Fitness center" that consisted of a bike and a bow flex? Where DOES the $ go? Clearly not to the site, the costumer, or likely the best people there- the cleaning ladies...

This hotel is perfect for an overnight stay. The rooms were clean and the bed was firm and comfortable. The front desk clerk was kind and helpful. Breakfast was fine. It was easy to unload and load our vehicle because our room was on the ground level. The pool was the warmest pool I have ever swum in but oh well. I would recommend this hotel especially for an overnight stay.

The upgrades are a huge improvement. Mattresses were a bit lumpy/uncomfortable for my preference, but served their purpose. Overall, I had a quiet and comfortable stay...which is why this is the only hotel I stay in when visiting Alamosa.

Was only going to stay one night until we discovered how fabulous the people are that work here. Thank-you Andy and Maria for your wonderful hospitality. Breakfast room and lobby were immaculate. Housekeeper Margaret made sure we did not need for anything in our room. We will be back!

We were fortunate to stay at the Best Western on July 2nd. We included myself, my husband and my sister which we required two rooms. The staff was professional, friendly and knowledgeable as well as extremely helpful. The décor of the hotel was inviting and the rooms were large and clean. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in this area. I would rate a five out of five.

Best Westerns are different everywhere you go. Some good, some bad...this one is a good one! The rooms were relatively large and up to date. One thing is one of the beds is right up against the AC unit which means that person will either freeze or burn up. Other than that, great rooms. Breakfast was fabulous. Eggs, sausage, potatoes, waffles....could not have asked for more!

My wife and I were on a tour of Colorado and Utah national parks, and needed to spend the night in Alamosa. This Best Western was a great choice...it was clean and comfortable, had friendly and helpful staff and a great breakfast included! The room had a refrigerator and microwave which allowed us to store our food and heat up leftovers from lunch. I would highly recommend this facility!

Great hotel for overnight stay while visiting Sand Dunes. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was upgraded, clean, and comfortable. Great value for the money. Would stay here again. Breakfast was good but restaurant choices in Alamosa are very, very limited. Eat dinner before you arrive!

We wanted a place close to town, but close enough to the sand dunes and gator farm and come local hiking trails. The hotel was clean and neat. Everything worked well. The staff were great. They all put up with my 3 kids. They helped give local tips of how to get around and better enjoy our planned activities. Overall the value of this hotel is tremendous.

We were so pleasantly surprised how nice this motel was. They allow dogs. The room is laid out nicely and is renovated. My dog loved the green grass out front. Nice neighborhood with Adam's State and a hospital near to w as long around. Great hot breakfast either scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes, etc.

Not always a fan of Best Westerns. They are updated motels built in a horseshoe and facing the highway. This usually means convenient but somewhat noisy. This one is a bit noisy but it has been very nicely renovated with nice grounds, a lovely dining area, really nice staff and great rooms. Here are a few minor negatives. There is some highway noise even though the doors are provided with sealed insulation. This place is popular with truckers who run their refrigeration units all night long, leaving early in the morning. The shampoo, conditioner and soap are in dispensers but are of good quality. Overall, one of the better Best Westerns we have used

We were surprised that the room cost as much as it did, even with our AAA discount. The room was okay, and the internet worked, but the room and decor is pretty outdated. The staff were all very friendly and courteous.

Nice hotel with pool, hot tub and abundant breakfast. Clean and comfortable. Attractive property and easily accessible from highway. Many things to do and see in Alamosa area including Sand Dunes, Gator Preserve and UFO Watchtower.

Newly renovated hotel which was well presented with pleasant decor. It was a good location in that it was not far from town but quite. Easy travel to the Great Sand Dunes National Park. We were able to leave at a good time to be there before the crowd thus got a good car spot

The hotel is on a main street near the university. We had visited the sand dunes. The hotel has exterior corridors but the rooms have been updated. The hot tub, pool and wifi were all in working order. The room was clean and the breakfast area was the best kept and cleanest we've seen.

We were not happy stayed at this hotel. It actuallly was a motel level. The location near by the busy traffic road, couldn't sleep well. The internet was slow. The breackfast service was good. It needs tell customer an actual information to avoid a wrong choice. The price charged too high.

Very nice place since rooms remodeled only down side is no elevators for 2nd floor access Breakfast is very good large selection of fruit and hot foods very helpful staff and very knowledgeable of the area. Very large indoor pool close to all types of dining and shopping

Very clean, wonderful staff, nice pool, very good breakfast and cookies in the lobby, reasonably priced vending machines, reasonably priced, good area of town close to downtown and shopping, good lighted parking

-very friendly staff, made a big difference for our two dogs and their stay at the Best Western. Great breakfast and clean accommodations. Couldn't really ask for more and, as a result, we'll be happy to return.

Stayed here as it is relatively close to the Great Sand Dunes. The room was clean and I had a great wi-fi connection. The bed was comfortable (a necessity after a long day of hiking on the Dunes). Showers were nice and hot, and I had great customer service.

We stayed at this hotel on our way to Durango on 4/3/17. Everything about the room was perfect, but what really stood out was the staff. The next morning we were in a hurry to beat a snowstorm that was coming through and loaded up the car in a hurry. We went to breakfast and I left my beauty products in the room. We took off and left them there, and as I'm sure some of you know, those things are not inexpensive to replace. I had left over $300 worth of product just sitting on the counter! It took a couple of days before we could locate the proper housekeeping staff to inquire about them, but they had them and shipped them home to me, safe and sound. I can't thank them enough!!! I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again or recommend them to my friends.

This hotel was perfectly located to Adams State University. With a small town feel this hotel has everything. Free internet capable of movie streaming. The best about this hotel was the staff working hotel. They went above and beyond, such as requesting cleaning staff hurry our room so they could check us in 4 hours before and so we could place our bags in room. Easy 5-20 min walks for anything you need.

We stay in a hotel in Alamosa 2-3 times a year. We usually stay at the hotel down the street that claims to have a water park. It has continued to go downhill over the years so we decided to try someplace new. We loved it! The pool was clean and warm. The hot tub was amazing! After swimming we went to the lobby and got yummy hot cocoa and chocolate chip cookies. The breakfast was hot and fresh. And checkout was super easy. We will be staying here again.

this is a simple, road trip hotel. bed was super comfortable, I took a bath and the bathroom was immaculate. The rooms must be sound proofed because it was totally silent during the night. Good night's sleep on my way to Santa Fe.

Very nice place to stay in Alamosa. Rooms are great, breakfast is good, and the pool/hot tub are excellent. Had a pleasant two nights here! Very friendly at the front desk as well. Wifi was a little slow at times. Bathrooms were excellent though. I would recommend staying here in Alamosa.

Room was very clean and comfortable. However I would not stay here again because of the horrible noise from the highway. The for to our particular room was very drafty on a very child night. The doors and windows need to be upgraded to provide some soundproofing. The room had quality TV, a refrigerator and a microwave.

We had an upstairs room and found it to be clean, comfortable and quiet. It isn't too far from restaurants in town to get something to eat,and getting a park on site isn't a problem. It was just the rest we needed after a long day's drive.

The staff at reception desk was courteous and helpful, very friendly. An old property but well kept. There is a nice small garden with a picnic table and a grill. A good breakfast with variety choices. The room was spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable, the linens and towels were clean. it also equipped with a mini fridge, microwave oven, coffee maker. it also offered free Wifi. It is a good place to stay if you are visiting The Great Sand Dunes NP.

I generally like Best Westerns, but this one I feel is not on the same level as the others. First, our toilet ran constantly. Even though it wasn't loud, I'm a light sleeper and it woke me up. Secondly, the workout area was lacking as well. The Bowflex that was there has a broken seat and was just balancing against the machine. It was not secured and the accessories were laying on the ground around the machine. Other machines had small defects as well, such as the bike had a missing foot strap. It was a clean room, the breakfast is what I've seen at other Best Westerns, but overall, I feel like I could have gotten the same thing at less expensive hotel in the area.

Nice room with amenities that are up to date. The breakfast was good. The pool and hot tub are in separate building and were maintained well. We were in the back building which was quiter than the front rooms in the other building. A bit close to street so some road noise. Staff was very helpful and courteous.

It was a good hotel, but the shower head was too high up and would not seem to adjust in any way. We would stay here again because it was nice and clean, close to restaurants, good breakfast, and our dog was welcome. Thanks!

Lowered price to get us to stay. Room is equipped with everything. Soap, shower gel, shampoo and lotion dispensers. Have ironing board and iron. Very clean. Full free breakfast. If you forgot something like toothbrush they will give to you. Great place to stay. Lots of fluffy pillows.

Check in was muddled. We were a group tour and the allocation of rooms became confused and we walked into someone else room. Finally sorted we were ok, room was large and comfortable. Shower good and plenty of towels. Breakfast was a nightmare. There was not enough seating and people were desperately trying to find a seat. The breakfast was fairly average, usual complimentary fare, scrambled eggs, toast, waffles and some fruit and cereals. There were two places to eat nearby at night but the choice was fast food so fairly limited. No lifts if you have heavy luggage.

However, prior to your arrival you faxed us over a rooming list of where each guest was needing to be, then at check in, you started making the changes on your own, we followed the rooming list as thorough as it was stated, someone walked into someone else's room because of the changes you made! I am very pleased that you found our guest rooms to be large and comfortable. We are glad that you thought the shower was good and had plenty of towels. We do apologize that you thought breakfast was a nightmare, I would like to inform you that we do have plenty of seating in our lobby area, we have all of our tables in the lobby, and we also have several picnic tables in our garden area in which the weather was indeed very nice! We are glad that you thought the breakfast was fairly average, many of our other guests really seem to enjoy it! There are several restaurants in our area but yes we are only located to 2 of them, 1 being IHOP and the other being KFC. I would like to inform you that when you know you are traveling with a group it is your responsibility to contact the hotel and ask about luggage handling, anytime we do group reservations we always ask about group handling at an additional cost, somehow it seems there was no questions asked about it, my team and I would have loved to assist your groups luggage if we would have known you wanted it handled for you. Nothing special about this Best Western at Alamosa. I had some trouble with the WiFi and with the door. The room was ok. The staff were friendly. I did not get to sample the breakfast as I left very early.

Best Western Alamosa provides nice clean rooms with a decent breakfast spread and courteous, friendly staff. The motel is an older building that has been nicely renovated with exterior access to each room. It has a nice pool and hot tub that are covered. Its close to Adams College and a grocery store but restaurants are a short drive into town.

This was a great find in Alamosa. I was concerned with a motel style property it would be loud but it wasn't. It was very quiet. Very nice length (20 yards) pool in a separate building. Someone had taken pains to put a nice area in the middle of the parking lot for picnic tables, grills and a nice flower garden with a fountain. Very nice touch.

We stayed here one night while visiting the Great Sand Dunes. Every interaction we had with the staff from checking in through checking out was friendly and gracious. The breakfast included fresh cooked eggs and sausage along with hash browns, waffles and many other breakfast items. The room was clean and well maintained. There was a pleasant outdoor area with grass, a fountain and benches. Also they had a grill and picnic tables for outdoor cooking/eating. I would definitely stay here again when visiting the Alamosa area.

This hotel stay was the best. Simply because as soon as you get there, you already have a beautiful site in the gardening area. A little picnic table. Everything was clean no trash on the floor (mostly has something to do with the janitor and the staff working there) the pool was nice and clean. The room was nice and roomy. Who could forget about the breakfast. I highly recommend this hotel.

Very nice place to stay. The room was very clean and comfortable. There was a hair dryer, coffee maker and a refrigerator in the room. There was a wonderful selection of food to choose from at there continental breakfast the next morning.

This trip we stayed in 4 Best Westerns. Alamosa Inn had the best breakfast. It had fresh eggs with patty sausage and all the other fixings. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room looks like they were trying to do some painting. I would rather see them work on one room and not rent the one they are working on. The room was very clean and had new furnishings, beautifully decorated.

The room was bigger than usual, very nice and comfy bed, we brought our own pillows. Breakfast was good with real eggs, sausage and hash browns. Staff very friendly and helpful. Train tracks across the street from the hotel but never heard the trains. Rooms sit back from street. Area outside to BBQ with picnic table and benches. Would highly recommend.

I love this motel so much that I will stay here every time I visit Alamosa. The rooms were great and the staff was amazing. The manager Bina was great and very knowledgeable along with the maintenance manager Anil. They both make a great team.

This was an older Best Western hotel with all the rooms opening to the parking lot. I prefer the security of the rooms opening to an inside hallway. But our room was very large with a desk, two additional arm chairs and table and a large vanity and sink outside the bath. The room was clean, beds and linens comfortable, and quiet from road noise. The check-in staff was friendly, but the breakfast was not anything special.

NO elevators to 2nd floors Great breakfast except the coffee machines were broken and you had to go back to room to make The people next to us were very loud into the early hours and the had a dog that barked when they were not in the room

We picked this location because we had a trip planned on the Rio Grande Scenic Railroad. We also wanted to try the San Luis Brewery. Both are very easy to get to from this location. Room was nice, quiet and clean. Andrew checked us in and also handled our check out. He was wonderful! We really enjoyed the picnic tables and grill area.

Even though the hotel is a little older, the rooms have been remodeled lately. My room was very clean, good Wi-Fi connection, and plenty of fluffy towels. There was even a small refrigerator and microwave in the room! In the morning, I felt the continental breakfast was better than average.

Great place right off main road for a family stay. The pool is excellent as well as the hot tub. Breakfast was very good with a great selection of items available. The rooms are decent, didn't like that the beds were only full size makes it hard for families but they were comfortable. Overall a good place to stay was happy overall

Same as stated on page one of this review. My wife and I enjoyed our stay very much. There is nothing more I can say. but the service was great and we would stay here again if we ever travel this way agIain.

Older property and not all amenities advertised are operational. Over priced for a room with a bed. There are many other options in the area that may be better priced if you are not tied to a brand. The rooms were clean, the net sluggish, and the service was average, breakfast was good.

Nice management, clean rooms, and it will meet your basic needs as a stopover/overnight stay for the Great Sand Dunes. Pro's: - Really warm pool - Nice staff - Proximity to the Great Sand Dunes - Decent breakfast Cons: - Close to a major highway/through way - despite the fact our room was further back (building 2), you could still hear the cars/trucks whizzing by - hot tub was broken - coffee maker was not working properly so the coffee was lukewarm at best BUT the staff was trying their best to keep it hot by making new batches of coffee more frequently - Pool is an entirely different building so you have to go outside (not much fun when you're wet & cold) - Double beds rather than queen beds - Rooms were small compared to other Best Western hotels

It's close(ish) to the Great Sand Dune and let's face it Alamosa is more prepossessing than most of the nearby towns. This was one of the better motels we stayed in. We had a good feel just by driving into the car park. it looked like they cared. Pool excellent, breakfast good by motel standards,service friendly efficient. Room pretty spacious for a family. Also it's next door to the IHOP for dinner

Nice hotel for a short stay overall. Pool is big. Breakfast is average. Room was clean. Close to main street. Hotel was not too noisy. Staff was helpful. About 30 minutes from Great Sand Dune National Park.

Very efficient check-in service and nice management. Clean, but definitely a dated motel. The room was basic, but with two double beds (rather than two queen size beds). It worked out fine though. The only complaint was that our room was on the lower level, and even though we were just across from the little park and the office, we had guys two doors down who set out a cooler of beer in the parking space next to their truck - right outside the window of our room - and drank and partied loudly for hours on our first night there. They were friendly enough, but we'd flown into Denver that day and then drove over 3 hours to get there. We were really tired and had a full day planned starting early the next morning. Hated complaining about them, but when it got to be midnight and the volume of their 'party' was only increasing, we called the desk. We were told that they could pretty much stay out there all night if they wanted to, but to the Inn's credit, they contacted the guys right away and asked them to please be quiet. Not long after that, all was quiet. This place is a good option if you're planning to visit the Great Sand Dunes National Park and Zapata Falls. Some cute restaurants and the usual chain store eateries nearby.

We are always keeping up with our renovations and we get many compliments on how nice our property is, we even get asked often if we've just renovated. However, I am glad that it did work out just fine for you! I would like to inform you that yes we do have a lot of construction workers that stay here with us and they do like to enjoy the outside after a hard days work, these guests have been repeated guests with us for several years and not once have they ever caused any problems. We wished you would have contacted the front desk immediately instead of waiting for hours and we have loved to move you to another room. I do apologize that you were supposedly told by a team member that they could stay out all night if they wanted to, I can assure you I will be speaking with my team member. And yes, anytime guests complain about other guests we always contact them immediately and ask for the noise to quiet down and I'm glad it did for you. My family and I were very pleased with our stay for 3 nights as we visited the National Sand Dunes park and other area attractions. This is a "motel" and not a "hotel" as the doors open to the parking lot. We had a room on the 2nd floor away from the highway. The walls were very well insulated as I did not hear any of our neighbors and the hotel was fully booked while we were there. The room was very, very clean. The beds and pillows were very comfy too. The swimming pool and hot tub area was very clean. The only down side to our stay was the shower head in the bathroom was a little weird and the water pressure was not the strongest. The free breakfast was great, it included , waffles, eggs, sausage. I got a smokin' deal for $85 a night as I booked really early, so I was very happy with our stay and the property. I would definitely stay again and I would recommend this to anyone.

Staff was friendly and helpful at checkin. I was given a suite, which was pretty cool, it had an upstairs loft set-up and nice living room/bar space downstairs. Very nice and price was right. Alamosa is a quaint little town not far form the Great Sand Dunes National Park. It was quite busy, lots of tourists and the hotel was full. That says a lot about the property! Good job all around, thank you.

We stayed one night here so we could visit the Great Sand Dunes National Park. The staff are friendly, the beds are soft & the room was clean. The rooms are not very sound proof though; we enjoyed the sound of the elephant steps up stairs - not! We had a room right on the road which was a little noisy also. Alamosa the town is not great. There are no health food options so we ate from Safeway. If you are passing through here though, this place is fine. I'd say a little pricey for what it is but there are not many options in Alamosa.

We enjoyed our stay. Nice rooms and friendly staff. Morning breakfast attendant also runs front desk. Always has a smile and very good at what he does. Breakfast was great and so was the pool area. Front desk attendant also offered advice on happenings in the San Luis Valley. Our next visit we will go to the Stampede in Monte Vista.

We had a clean and comfortable room. We also enjoyed the heated pool and hot tub. Breakfast was as expected for a hotel of this class. We would stay here again. Make a reservation because they were full.

the room was very nice. the only disadvantage are the doors to rooms aren't inside a hallway. The rooms are accessible only from parking lot. Not a good thing when you are a women alone. I have been told that's not a good idea. The breakfast had scrambled eggs not remade round flat eggs.

This Best Western is perfect if you have kids or even if you are traveling alone or with another adult. The beds are clean and are comfortable. The pool area is perfect because it is quite large, kids and adults can relax and have fun there. There is a fast food restaurant and a popular chain that stays open 24 hrs just next door. The best thing was the friendly and helpful staff, they the experience even better. Will definitely be back at this Best Western location in the future.

We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite, with the upper bedroom in a loft. Upon entering, a long open staircase led upstairs. There was a bedroom and bathroom up in the loft, and a half wall that was open to the lower area. The lower area had a sofa bed, two living room style chairs, bar area with bar stools, refrigerator & sink, and a second bathroom. It was comfortable and roomy, but a little odd with the open loft instead of the upper area being an enclosed bedroom. Nice little breakfast in the morning, with both hot and cold foods.

Our family stayed here as we traveled around the area to the Sand Dunes and up to South Fork for a few days. The rooms were very clean. They have a really nice pool and hot tub. Great breakfast with a lot of variety. The staff was very helpful. It was a great place to return after a day outside.

Breakfast was very good, staff was pleasant and courteous and we loved the fountain outside. It was so pleasant and soothing. The pool and the hot tub was the cleanest I have ever seen. There were several good eating places nearby. It was a very good experience.

Would stay at this hotel again! The room was super clean. The employees also step outside in the parking lot at night to look around. My sister stayed at a hotel near Wal-Mart and her tire was slashed. Overall, the employees really had a sense of caring. I mentioned to the person to the front desk person that I really liked how they stepped outside and night and he said they do like to keep an eye on things.

This hotel cost me 160.00 + tax. This is a rip off in my opinion. Stayed at motel 6 two days ago, rooms almost identical. Stayed at many nicer BW's for much less . Train is right by this hotel, also on major hwy.

First of all, we are very sorry that you felt that our rates were a rip off, however, when you entered into our establishment you were told by my front desk team what the rates would be in which YOU then agreed to, my team and I do not feel that is fair of you to bad mouth us on trip advisor when you agreed to the rates, and you were also well aware that there are indeed other hotels in this area. I would also like to inform you that basically ALL hotels, wherever you are going to be traveling to, that the rates are going to be a little higher because summer is the season for hotels. There are many events happening everywhere. I would also like to inform you that we DO NOT compete with Motel 6's! We are glad that you stayed at many BW's for much less but all properties are different! This is a nice place to stay when visiting the Great Sand Dunes. The staff is very friendly and professional. The breakfast was great. The pool was wonderfully warm! Our room was clean and we didn't have any issues.

This facility has deteriorated since my 1st stay here. The room had to be aired out before it was habitable. Apparently it had been treated with something that had a strong odder. A few yards away the pool and hot tub were green with algae.

Fine for a stopover. Rooms clean, breakfast good, access and parking easy. Even a little picnic and bbq area. External doors to all rooms mean you lose a bit of privacy. Reasonable walking distance from the town.

My wife and I are in from overseas to visit my family in the southwest. After booking a Best Western in Prescott during the 4th weekend we decided to stay with this chain to use their rewards program. At the first booking we apparently got this deal book two separate room nights and get a 50 dollar discount. We are on our 3rd-4th booking and no sign of this but more terms and conditions. So in transit, we rolled into Alamaso Colorado. Tired and not ready to do the drive around town to check rates we booked into the BW Alamaso. US145 in a little town with nothing happening. More expensive than offpeak Prescott US85 and slightly less than Durango (Cool Town) US160. Apologies, but Alamosa is not a tourist town, it is a passing through town. Ok we made the decision, but look online easy USD40-50 less (no cell signal on global partner plan- thanks M1) . What is this the best hotel in town and / or BW you scalp your loyalty members? Wall mount soap pump not individual packets like all others, poor water pressure, stairs cracking through wall in bathroom, spare hairs in the shower and we are less than impressed, but the grass is green in the yard and it seems you can BBQ, Take a chance?

First of all I would like to inform you that when you are booking your 3rd separate stay with BEST WESTERN, you are to contact Best Western Rewards so that they can provide you with the gift card that they send to your e-mail, you were advised of this during check in. I do apologize that you felt that our rates were more expensive than offpeak Prescott, however, you were quoted the rates before you agreed to check-in and you signed and initialed that you were ok with it and we do not feel that it is fair to compare us after YOU agreed and also had other opportunities to check other hotels. I would also like to inform you that Alamosa, CO is indeed a tourist town, many guests come here to visit our GREAT SAND DUNES NATIONAL PARK, ZAPATA FALLS, RIO GRANDE SCENIC RAILROAD, CUMBRES & TOLTEC, ALLIGATOR FARM, etc..... Also, when we have what are called peak nights which means we are getting close to being sold out, the on-line rates are not less expensive, guests are always getting confused because they are looking at wrong dates, so our line rates do indeed match our nightly rates. We do apologize that you were not very pleased with the soap dispensers we provide in our guest rooms and I would also like to inform you that we do also have regular bar soap at the front desk, if you would have contacted the front desk we would have been more than happy to deliver some to your room, we have the soap and shampoo dispensers because we do the Go Green Eco Friendly Environment reason. We are sorry you supposedly encountered poor water pressure, we wished you would have contacted a front desk team member immediately. I am totally confused on what your talking about when you state "stairs cracking the wall in the bathroom"? None of our rooms have stairs through the walls in the bathrooms we are an exterior property and we only have the stairs outside. Again we sincerely apologize that you state there were spare hairs in the shower, again we wished you would have contacted the front desk so that we would have the opportunity to solve any issues you were encountering during your stay with us. And yes you can indeed BBQ, we do provide the grill for all of our guests! And thank you for noticing that the grass is very green in the yard. My team and I are all very sorry that you were not 100 % satisfied with your stay. When I booked two nights here, I was expecting to be in a hotel as it was a Best Western, but it was a motel with each room accessed from outside. Breakfast was in the lobby and so required a walk in the open but the good weather meant that wasn't a problem. Breakfast was so busy that we had to eat outside the first morning. There was a good selection at breakfast and the food was fine. Particularly liked the small cinnamon waffles. The room was a good size and the bed was very comfortable. WiFi was good speed and reliable. Front desk staff were helpful and friendly.

My family and I were very pleased with this hotel. The breakfast was great, the room was great, and the pool was the perfect temperature. I was blown away by the friendliness of the staff. Everyone was kind and considerate and greeted you with a smile. The beds weren't the best but a hotel bed is never like your own! We will be returning to this hotel the next time we are in Alamosa.

Rooms are large spacious the beds are comfortable the room is very clean. The staff is helpful had a reservation arrived late and still had rooms waiting for me. It is right near restaurants and the college.

We were staying in Alamosa for the night before going to Great Sand Dunes NP the next day. As we arrived mid afternoon, we asked the clerk what else we could do in Alamosa. Sadly to say, there wasn't much during the middle of the week but he kept trying to find something for us! He was very friendly and tried to be helpful. Our room was fine, no complaints.

Alamosa is not a real big city, but there are some exciting things to do in our area. The Sand Dunes is the main attraction here, but just to inform you, we also do have an Alligator Farm, Zapata Falls, (which is nearby the sand dunes) we have the Rio Grand Scenic Railroad, & we also have the Cumbres & Toltec Railroad. I do however believe that for some of the activities you may need to book in advance. We do have a lot of summer festivities here such as Summer Fest of The Rio, Sky-Hi Stampede, Rodeos etc... I am very pleased that my team member was friendly and tried to be helpful in trying to assist you on finding something to do. We love taking care of our guests! There's an earlier review, "Good Night's Sleep," that perfectly encapsulates my thoughts. There is nothing not to like about this property. Further to that review, the parking in front of your door is ample, and the spaces are wide (important if you are in a rental vehicle). Also, here is something you rarely read: The motel is very close to the "downtown" with a Safeway and restaurants just a stone's throw away. Convenience, quality, and price -- it's a winner.

So far the staff has been friendly and nice. The lobby is nice and the wifi works well. My room is really clean. The fridge is not very cold at all turned all the way up. Every time I turn my AC off it is immediately hot in the room and if I close my curtains the AC blows right into them and not into the room. And I can hear everything that the family in the room next door is doing (and saying) which is weird. Some of the furnishings and the carpet appear to have been updated not that long ago and the bed is comfy. The popcorn ceiling is very popcorny. I got a good rate on this room and for the price it is just about right.

Chocolate chip cookies and cold lemon water when we checked in. Excellent breakfast selections. Coffee and tea available til 11pm. Clean room, great mattress and pillows; great HVAC system. HD TV and wifi. Would stay there again !!

We are traveling with Chiquita, our chihuahua. She is an experienced traveler. She found all in order. Easy and friendly check in. Great parking, especially if towing a trailer. Once in the room. Which was a designated pet room. She could not detect any evidence that previous pets had been there. The room was clean and fresh. The furniture and beds were new looking. The breakfast was very nice. Fresh cracked she'll eggs, sausage, biscuits and Garvey, waffles and lots of fruit. Chiquita loved her bite of sausage. All in all a wonderful hotel stay.

The property and rooms were very clean and the staff attentive and friendly. The breakfast was on par with others. It should be noted that rooms open to the outdoors, not a hallway, but we were to the rear of the property so it was quiet enough. Be forewarned - I was very disappointed that I made my reservation through Best Western's central booking and made it very clear that we'd be travelling with a dog - I even have this documented. But regardless, the hotel had no record of this and we had to be moved to a pet friendly room and were charged an additional "upgrade fee." It should be noted that, in spite of being put into a pet friendly room, the room did not reflect the fact that there had been pets there before us and was clean and clean-smelling. There are many good restaurants in town and the area is accessible easily to all of the attractions of the valley.

Yes, we are an exterior property and it does clearly state that on line and any time making reservations, but we are glad that it was quiet enough for you! I would like to sincerely apologize that you were very disappointed when you made your reservations through CRS, however it does clearly state on our website that anytime any guests are traveling with pets that they are to contact our hotel regarding our pet policy, many guests book the lower rate rooms (THAT ARE NOT PET FRIENDLY ROOMS) instead of booking the higher rate rooms and then seem to get upset when there is an additional upgrade fee. Yes, the room you occupied may have had pets in there before your arrival because we have only a few rooms that we do designate as pet friendly rooms due to other guests that may be allergic to pets, thank you for noticing that it was clean and clean-smelling. The minute a previous guest checks out of a pet friendly room my housekeeping staff thoroughly cleans those rooms! There are indeed many good restaurants in our area and we do provide a list of which we like to offer to our guests! The staff was welcoming and attentive to our needs. The room was very clean, and smelled fresh. The bed was comfy and we had plenty of nice pillows. Breakfast was hot and fresh, and quite tasty. Our room was near the highway end of the hotel and they was some traffic noise, but that's unavoidable. Overall, a good experience and I would definitely stay again.

Surrounded by beautiful mountain views this motel was very nice for the value. The room was clean, spacious and had everything we needed. Being an avid swimmer, I was especially impressed with the pool andhoit tub. It was clean, attractive and the temperature was perfect.

I enjoyed a quick stay while visiting some properties we have in the San Luis Valley and Sangre de Cristos. One of the better in the area that had pet-friendly rooms to accommodate my golden retriever companion! Staff were kind and informative. Only real complaint is that hours for pool/hottub were too limited to use (closed 9pm-10am). Would have enjoyed after a long drive. Breakfast was good and morning manager was friendly and engaging. Recommend as one of the better, well-kept properties that are pet-friendly in the area.

As a person I understand the need for rules, without them society would run amok. Chaos would rule the day. However there are times when rules and in particular their inflexibility serve no purpose except to shortchange a consumer. I booked my room through Rocketmiles earlier in the week when the weather forecast for Alamosa called for cloudiness. In the days since the forecast there and in Denver where I live dramatically changed with some calls for four feet of snow. Clearly my weekend trip to celebrate my birthday no less, had to be postponed. Every hotel agreed and without incident moved my reservation to the following week, all but one: the Best Western Alamosa. While the staff there was friendly in empathizing with me it appears the owner rules with an iron fist and zero flexibility. Rocketmiles had no issue with me moving the reservation and understood why this dramatic change in circumstance would change my decision, Best Western's corporate line also had no issue and tried to get the hotel to change their decision but all requests fell upon deaf ears. As an MBA student there is an important lesson here about keeping customers, the Best Western Alamosa won't have my business and hopefully via this review won't have yours either but they decided it was more worthwhile to take my $99 and give me nothing in return than doing the understandable thing and just letting me move my reservation to the week following as did the other reservations effected by this sudden snow storm. Even having the audacity to e-mail me stating their hands were tied but they would be happy to sell me a room for the following weekend. Thank you Rocketmiles and thank you Best Western corporate but I would under no circumstances suggest giving money to this inflexible owner. We stayed at the Hampton Inn in Alamosa and was lovely and looked far nicer than the near-empty Best Western that could not accommodate a shift when weather closed roads throughout the area.

This BW is a motel rather than hotel, and felt a little more basic than the others we used on our road trip. Pluses: typically for old style motels the rooms are massive. Tub with shower over, not just a cubicle. Comfortable beds, tho with sheets and blanket rather than duvets. Quiet and dark overnight. Minuses: checkin lady efficient but not exactly welcoming. And here's the biggie: the top floor of the block we were in was being renovated. As we arrived (7ish) the workmen were just packing up to leave. But at 7.30 the following day they were back and talking loudly outside our window, and by 8.30 they were banging with a lumphammer and using what sounded like an angle grinder directly above our heads. As it happened I was up anyway, but plenty of others weren't.. given that checkout is 11am and some folks arrive late, that seems totally out of order to me - they shouldn't rent any rooms in that block, OR keep the work to the middle of the day. I did mention this to the chap on checkout...he laughed and said "yeah gotta get the work done". Seems to me that says a bit about their customer care ethos!

This hotel was a last minute booking more or less as I was taking a short road trip to the Great Sand Dunes National Park. I arrived for check-in and was surprised that they didn't ask for any sort of “deposit” for incidentals which is always nice (I don't always have hundreds of dollars of expendable cash when checking in to a hotel). The lady that checked me in was friendly, but she went through a million things very quickly when giving me my card which I thought was unnecessary. The room was very clean, good size, and comfortable. My room included breakfast, which was your standard Midwest breakfast with sausage, eggs, bacon, toast, etc. and tasted deliciously. Overall, I was pleased with my stay, no hassle and no problems.

My family and I went to alamosa to visit the sand dunes and alligator farm for a quick spring break/Easter get away. We stayed at the Beat Western. The staff was amazing! I have lots of food allergies and Andy went above and beyond to help me have something I could eat in the morning. It was very kind. Everyone was very helpful and the hotel was very clean and comfortable.

I always have a good stay at this hotel when I am in Alamosa for work. It has always been clean and the staff are always friendly and helpful. They also offer a really good breakfast with just about anything you could want.

The Best Western Alamosa Inn is a best kept secret. This is my 4th stay in the last year, and each time the service, amenities, and staff have been exceptional. I was delayed one day returning to Pasosa Springs due to an unexpected spring snow storm, and they were understanding and considerate of my delay. A great place to STAY!!!

I have stayed at a few hotels in Alamosa and this is the best one I have found for the combination of price and comfort. It was clean, the people were nice, and I didn't have any issues with the room. I will be staying here again.

The title says it all. Our double queen room is plenty roomy for my husband and our two young kiddos. The pool house with hot tub was a great treat- we swam twice each day and watched the snow fall outside. Standard continental breakfast that was just fine for us. The employees- from Dennis at check-in to the maintenance fellow who opened the pool today- have been beyond helpful and pleasant.

This is a very pleasant hotel. The pool/hot tub was a welcome respite after a long day. Bed was very comfortable, although a little tall. Staff was pleasant and helpful for the most part. Very willing to accommodate a last minute change to ground floor after we forgot to request it. Would definitely stay here again!

I booked over the phone and was told I had 2 queen beds. When we got to the hotel, I was told 2 full beds. I went and looked at my receipt and it said full, but I was TOLD queen. I was also hit with a pet fee that I was not told about over the phone of $15 a night. Also, the front desk woman who checked us in was rude. She was clearly sick and said she just wanted to sleep and coughed all over everything, including my key cards. I went in later that night for a tea and she was in the lobby on the couch watching television. The next night I went for a tea again and she was on a personal call that lasted the entire time I was there. VERY unprofessional. The room was clean and the breakfast was good so no complaints there. Still, it was a less than average experience and I left disappointed.

As you stated you did see on your receipt that you did indeed book the 2 double/full size beds instead of the queen beds and our central reservations system does indeed give you a room type option when booking in which most guests usually book the 2 double/full size beds because they are usually lower in the price, and yes we do charge a $15.00 nonrefundable pet fee per night. The room that you had occupied was NOT a designated pet friendly room but we like to welcome pets here as much as we do our guests! I do apologize that you seemed to of gotten upset once you were told upon check-in that we do have a pet fee and at the time that you were checking in my front desk agent overheard you state to your mother (or whoever it was that was checking in with you) that you felt unwelcomed and that you were going to complain! After talking with my team member we do not feel that it is fair of you to state false statements about her ever stating to you that she just wanted "to sleep". Yes , she is currently suffering from allergies and it is also unfair of you to state another false statement stating that she was coughing all over your key cards, we are sorry that you were just upset because you had to pay an additional $30 for having a pet in the room and that you made the mistake of booking the wrong room type. It was also brought to my attention by my team member that when you would come in for tea during your 2 nights stay with us that you and she would have friendly conversations and you were asked if everything was going ok during your stay with us and you stated yes! We are very pleased that you found our guest rooms to be clean and our full hot breakfast to be good and we are glad that you didn't have any complaints there! Again we are sincerely sorry that you left disappointed and hopefully you will give us a 2nd chance in the future and maybe then we can exceed all of your standards and expectations! This BW is a short drive from the Sand Dunes National Park and Monte Vista NWR. The town of Alamosa has several nice restaurants with good food at very reasonable prices. The breakfast buffet at BW is ample and good. The only proble is, there's no hope of doing any work on the internet at night. Speed is reasonable at 1 in the afternoon, when no one else is there, but at 8 p.m., it's hopeless. I had one thing that I "had to" do, which normally takes under 5-minutes and it took 30-minutes with including a time-out or two. Luckily I was here for pleasure, so, other than that one thing, I mostly stayed off the internet.

For an older hotel in a small town I was impressed. The cost was very reasonable and I didn't really expect much. The room was much larger than expected although I would rate cleanliness as only average. A few things that made this a good stay was the hotel was very quiet, breakfast was included and the staff was very friendly. They even opened the pool an hour early so our kids could swim before check out. If you are looking for a simple place to stay for the night away from the downtown area this is a good choice.

I took several students here as a teacher for a trip, and it was an absolutely terrible experience. I made the reservations months ahead of time and called to confirm them the week before, only to find upon check-in that the reservations weren't right. The staff was extremely rude, and the breakfast was terrible. There was a sports team that stayed above use that was loud all night. The doors to the outside have terrible locks and are paper thin, so safety and noise are both issues. The rooms were very dated and not well maintained. The pool is filthy and disgusting. Overall, I was extremely disappointed in this hotel stay, I didn't know that a Best Western could be so low-grade and the staff could be so rude.

I would like to inform you that we have NEVER had any safety issues with our door locks here on our property and we do apologize that you heard a lot of noise, yes we are an exterior property and yes we are located on a busy highway, however, if you would of contacted the front desk immediately to report any noise we would have contacted the other guests rooms and asked them to please quiet down. I also seem to be very confused on how you stated that our rooms were very dated and not well maintained, our housekeeping/maintenance departments work very hard each and every single day to do whatever they can to make sure our guests rooms are kept clean and well maintained, again, whatever issues you may have experienced we wished you have brought to our attention so that we may have the opportunity to address the problems or maybe even move you to another room or give you more options. We also apologize that you thought our pool was disgusting, many many of our guest really enjoy swimming and relaxing in it. After a great day exploring the Sand Dunes National Park, I decided to stay at the Best Western Alamosa Inn. The staff who worked the front desk in the morning were wonderful - great customer service! Always appreciate staff who is willing to allow guests print their plane tickets before their departures. The breakfast was better than I expected; anytime a hotel offers biscuits, they get two thumbs up for me. The hotel is off the main road so it can get a bit noisy for those light sleepers, but I was so exhausted from all the hiking that I slept right thru it. The next morning I drove out to the Mesa Verde National Park and decided to return back to the Best Western in Alamosa since they impressed me the first time. The town has several shops and food options near the hotel, and with the rooms having a microwave that was an added bonus. Since it was a January visit, it was less crowded than usual so that made my visit even more pleasant. I look forward to returning back to Alamosa and staying at this hotel.

The hotel was clean, staff friendly & helpful. Breakfast was typical for this type of hotel - scrambled eggs, hash browns, bacon or sausage, pancakes, yogurt, apple or orange, toast, cearel, milk, juice, coffee. I would have liked more tea choices. overall it was good & a very good price.

Stayed 3 nights. The room was clean with updated furnishings. Dispensers for soap, body wash, shampoo and lotion. Coffee pot in room, although I didn't use it because it has a lot of scale deposit. Fridge and microwave in room. Only negative, the bathroom needs a heater. Breakfast is the usual fare, scrambled eggs, sausage patties, hashbrowns, waffles and white gravy. Cereals, bread, yogurt and fresh fruit also available. Friendly staff.

We stayed 5 nights, rooms were comfortable, bed was great, heater worked well, bit noisy, for below zero temps at night. Hot breakfast was great. This is our second time staying at this Best Western. located just west of downtown, restaurants and grocery stores close by

My wife, Aussie Shepard and I stayed here for one night whilst traveling from Santa Fe to Grand Junction for a Thanksgiving celebration with friends. We found the room to be clean, the king bed mattress to be quite comfortable and plenty of hot water in the shower and sink. Best of all there's a small park w/manicured lawn to walk one's dog, and a poop bag station and refuse barrel. What more could one traveling w/ a dog ask? And the pet fee is very reasonable. Pet-friendly rooms are all on the first floor and like old-style motels, the room door opens to the outdoors. Everything a dog owner wants! Oh yes, the included breakfast had all the standard fare, including delicious sausage patties - one of which became a dog treat! We recommend this motel especially for those travelers with a dog.

I had a nice stay at this hotel. I was in town on business and needed a hotel that allowed dogs. The bed was comfortable. I was happy that my room had a fridge and microwave. That way I could bring leftovers back for lunch the next day. The shower was a little weird, spraying all over the place.

We enjoyed the stay at this hotel. It is nice and the staff was great and helpful. Alamosa is an interesting town to visit. We stayed here on our way to Great Sand Dunes National Park. If I ever return to this area I would stay here again and recommend to others.

Bathroom full of hair! I was offered $15.00 compensation. The manager didn't seem to care. The one night staff offered to help clean up. My husband was already asleep! Couldn't speak to the manager myself.

However, my front desk agent stated that you did bring the issue to our attention and we immediately took action. My agent has stated that you were offered to move to another room at which you declined, she then offered to clean the room for you at which you also declined because you stated that you had 2 rescue dogs occupying the room, then my front desk agent offered you if you would like to check-out at no charge at all and you then stated that you wanted to clean the room yourself. We are very sorry for the inconvenience and sometimes it can be very easy for a housekeeper to lose a strand of hair while cleaning a tub without noticing. Yes, we did give you $15.00 compensation for your room and we do not feel that we had to issue you a full refund because you did use the guest room and the amenities. I also seem to be very confused on how you state the manager didn't seem to care, but yet you also stated that you couldn't speak to the manager yourself?? Again, we are deeply sorry and hope that you will stay with us again in the future and hopefully then we will have exceeded all of your standards and expectations and receive a 5 point review rating from you because we strive on those and on 100 % guest satisfaction. The hotel is a nice hotel and the staff was great, just not impressed with the hot breakfast. Alamosa is a beautiful town and enjoyed the sand dunes. I would stay again. I did not try out the pool or hot tub, but looked inviting. Free Wi-Fi is great!!

- We did not hold our room with a credit card and were given a courtesy call to advise we should call if we thought we'd be late. - We arrived at 1:00 pm, our room not ready but we were early. When we returned our room was ready and we had a great location, room 223, top floor far from the elevators. - The room was a suite with two TVs, king-sized bed and a separate living room with a foldout bed. Our king had soft or hard pillows. - Breakfast area had ample room for all (the hotel was filled with football players from New Mexico playing the local college.) - Hotel location on the main drag, plenty of restaurants. - Not much in Alamos other than near the Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve, our reason for our visit. - Only mark down was slow internet, maybe due to our room at the end of the wing.

Friendly and helpful staff. Our rooms 237 and 228 were bright and apparently recently renovated. They were very clean. The lobby breakfast area was modern and complete. All service was very good., including the free interenet. Althought this is prbably an older facility, everything was very well maintained and quite comfortable. I'd certainly stay there again!

The manager found us rooms late in the evening. She was helpful, friendly, offered recommendations and hotel features. It was our good luck to chose this hotel. We got what we needed for breakfast as we were in a hurry.

Nice hotel in an otherwise unfriendly town. Apparently saying hello and smiling are verboten here. Hotel was clean, staff friendly...only friendly face in alamosa. Hot tub, pool, hot breakfast...decent price.

This is a wonderful place to see, with wildlife refuges nearby as well as Great Sand Dunes Nat'l Park and Preserve. We look forward to returning for a longer stay next time. Alamosa is a small town but we found a nice Italian restaurant that was also reasonable. This is probably a wonderful location in any season.

The room appeared to be clean; however we found a swirling wad of hair stuck to the shower wall. The blow dryer hardly blew at all, and it took forever to dry my hair. The breakfast bar was okay. The scrambled eggs tasted like they were freshly prepared. We stopped early last night to watch the play off game between the Cubs and the Pirates rather than driving on toward our next detination. The cable went out during the second inning and did not come back on until this morning. We heard that it was great game.

Hello Susan L! Thank you for taking the time to submit a review on trip advisor of our hotel! We really appreciate your business! We would like to apologize that you found a swirling wad of hair stuck to the shower wall and that the blow dryer hardly blew at all, however, we wished you would have contacted the front desk of these issues immediately, we would have been more than happy to move you to another room, cleaned it up for you, and made sure we got you a better hair dryer. We are glad that you found the breakfast to be okay and yes our scrambled eggs are indeed prepared fresh every morning. We do apologize that the cable went out and my front desk agent was getting calls from other rooms so she took action immediately and contacted the cable company, the cable company then stated that there was a report of a technical error in the area and that the cable would be back on shortly, we do apologize that no we did not have any control of the technical problems that the area was experiencing and that it was out of our control. We are sincerely sorry for the inconvenience. We hope that you will stay with us again in the future and hopefully then we will have exceeded all of your standards and expectations and receive a 5 point review rating from you because we strive on those and we also strive on making sure that all of our guests are 100 % satisfied with their stays with us. Always stay here when in Alamosa. Easy to find and close to numerous restaurants. Rooms are very clean and well equipped. Bathrooms are spacious which is appreciated. Breakfast is outstanding. One of the best I've seen. Lots of choices for all types of tastes. Lemon water available in the lobby.

The grounds are beautiful, the rooms and beds could use a little work. Breakfast was good. I cannot say I am disappointed, but we stayed in 7 different Best Westerns over the last 2 weeks. This was my least favorite.

We do apologize that you felt that our guest rooms and beds could use a little work, however, I would like to inform you that we have just recently put brand new beds in our guest rooms and have done some renovating, but we are sorry that you felt that way. We are glad that you found our full hot breakfast buffet to be good, thank you, many of our other guests seem to enjoy it as well. Room clean and bed comfortable. Had small refrigerator and microwave. Did not like that small square pillows they had. Hot breakfast was good and eating area was clean. A lot of restaurants nearby. KFC just next door. Did not use indoor pool. Also they had a nice little park with picnic tables so if the weather is nice you could eat there if you like. Definitely a good choice. No elevator.

Thank you for noticing that our guest rooms are indeed clean and that our beds are comfortable! Yes, each and every one of our guest rooms are equipped with microwaves, refridgerators, coffee makers, flat screen tv's, irons, ironing boards etc... we would like to apologize that you found the fridges to be small but I would like to inform you that those refridgerators are basic sizes for all hotels! We are glad that you found our full hot breakfast buffet to be good and clean, thank you, we appreciate you for noticing that! Yes, KFC is located right next door to our hotel and many of our other guests enjoy that! We are sorry that you did not get to take advantage of our indoor pool and hot tub :(, so many of our other guests really enjoy it! Yes, we do indeed have a nice little park with tables for our guests to enjoy as they eat or for whatever other reasons! My team and I are all very pleased to see you state that our hotel was definitely a good choice, thank you, that really means a lot to us! And we do apologize that no we do not have elevators! I had worries about this hotel before we left the UK for our holidays. We used previous Trip Advisor reviews to try and get a decent room location. I sent a request before we left via the ‘hotel's' contact us form off their web site and a reply was received acknowledging our message sent by Bina. Things looked good. We arrived early on the Sunday and thought we'd pop in to see if we could drop our things off. Andy was on reception and he was extremely polite and cheerful. Sadly he could not let us go to the room, it needed to be inspected. No problems for us, we went off to see Zapata Falls and then locate Hideaway Steak House. There was confusion as to whether the steak house was open on a Sunday. We went back to the Inn after visiting the falls, Andy had left and the ‘lady' on reception gave us the room key. Despite having previously requested a room to the rear, away from the road, we couldn't have been placed much closer to the road in room 105. It was obvious the room had recently been decorated, with excess paint around the window frame. There was a massive gap around the door and we could clearly hear the traffic noise. Still suffering with jet lag, we dreaded the night ahead. I went back to reception to ask if there were any notes on the booking as I had requested a quiet room 2 weeks previously. I couldn't make out her name because her hair covered her name badge. We were told by her that our travel company was only allocated so many rooms. It was pointless talking any more to the ‘lady', she obviously could not care less. I asked about places to eat on a Sunday, (because of suspecting Hideaway may be closed), she simply gave me a printed sheet, which among other places showed the Hideaway. So we went back to the Hideaway. After making more enquiries in the attached bar to Hideaway, we were told it was closed. We tried another place on the list... closed. In the end we found Cavillo's to be open. After eating, we went back to the sand dune area to get some photos as the sun set. We then returned to our room. I thought it best to advise the staff that the list they gave out was not accurate, on entering I couldn't see anyone, suddenly the same person who had given us the room key and list's head popped up from behind the counter, it looked as though she had been asleep. I told her that some of the places on her list were closed and it may be wise to update the information they gave out. She rummaged around and said she could not find any of the sheets and that they had run out, she said she would have to print off some more. I told her we had spent the best part of an hour trying to find somewhere to eat. Honestly, this person did not have a care in the world. She was as much use as an ash tray on a motorcycle. It goes without saying, we had a terrible nights sleep. The road noise was terrible, even on a Sunday night. Workers who were staying there in other rooms started moving their vehicles at about 05.30. We got up and ate a small breakfast and left as quickly as we could. We spoke with the receptionist as we left to express our disappointment. That was a waste of our breath. The breakfast was ‘free' and it was something to put in our stomachs, but nothing else to write about. The room appeared clean, but it had obviously been recently painted by an untrained monkey. Soap and shampoo dispensed from units attached to the wall. Positive things are that you will get a reply to contact, (but don't expect them to live up to anything they may say) and there is a garage close by so you can fill up with fuel to help make a good get away. To precis, terrible customer service and don't stay here or in Alamosa unless you have to, especially on a Sunday. VERY basic.

We would like to apologize that you were unable to check in to a room early, however, we would like to inform you that if you would have given us a call a night prior to your arrival for a request of an early check in, we would have been more than happy to try to get you checked in as soon as possible. We have been extremely busy selling out every night and guests that are already checked in from the night before do have until 11:00 a.m. to check out. I am glad that you found Andy to be polite and cheerful, I will be sure to pass your comments on to him. I would like to sincerely apologize of the location of your room but as you were aware when you booked a basic standard room with the company you booked with, you agreed to a basic standard room. My front desk agent stated that she was able to move you to the back side of the hotel and also informed you that there would be a $10.00 upgrade fee at which you then declined. My front desk agent also stated that she did offer to move you far back as possible of the location you were at and still then you declined. We would like to apologize that no we do not know the exact hours of every restaurant in our area, but so many of our other guest really appreciate our restaurant recommendation list which clearly states the exact directions from our hotel and their phone numbers for guests to call with any questions they may have what so ever. We do apologize that you had a horrible nights sleep, but as I mentioned above you were offered an upgraded room in which you declined. We do apologize that you found our full hot breakfast buffet nothing to write about, many of our guests really really enjoy it! Thank you for noticing that our rooms appear to be clean, however, I do not feel that is fair of you, and I also feel that it is very disrespectful of you to state that my staff had been trained by an "untrained monkey"! Wow! I would like to inform you that my team here from maintenance, to housekeeping, to front desk, to breakfast, etc....work hard each and every single day to do whatever we can to make sure our guests are always 100 % satisfied with their stays and are always wanting to return to our hotel. We feel as though you were upset because you did not want to pay the additional $10.00 for an upgraded room and that's when you decided to state horrible comments on trip advisor of our hotel. And yes our soap and shampoo are located in dispensers in our rooms. We do that for the Go Green Eco Friendly Environment reason. We stayed 2 nights. The staff we encountered were friendly. The room was clean and quiet. We slept well both nights. The breakfast was of a good variety. The location was close to many restaurants. There is nothing bad I can say about the stay. Overall we had an excellent experience.

Decided to spend the night and hit the sand dunes the next morning. Staff was very pleasant and was very accommodating when we asked to see the room first. The room - large, comfortable and clean. Best night sleep I had the whole trip. Didn't get to try the pool but it did look inviting. Did sit outside in the little courtyard area - very nice. Breakfast was more than I could ask for. Will plan on staying there again on our next trip to the sand dunes.
