At the very top of Denmark, halfway between Skagen and Frederikshavn, you will find this cozy beach hotel. It is close to nature and the most beautiful sandy beach. The hotel is centrally located in Aalbaek, just a five-minute walk from the train station and 20 kilometers from Skagen. The hotel has 59 bright, attractive rooms in true seaside hotel style. In the cozy restaurant, you get the feeling that time has stood still. The focus is on details, with white tablecloths, heavy, comfortable chairs, thick carpets, and traditional wallpaper. The hotel's location by the sea also influences the menu, which features several exciting and flavorful fish dishes made with seasonal ingredients. Aalbaek Badehotel, Sure Hotel Collection by Best Western dates all the way back to 1818, when the innkeeper also made a living as a fisherman and ran a small farm. Back then, Aalbaek was a small fishing village, but the idyll, peace, and calm remain intact. The authentic fishing and village atmosphere, with cozy small streets and the harbor, is simply perfect for wonderful vacations. Aalbaek is a great base for experiences in North Jutland. The nature around the town is quite special, with beaches, Aalbaek Klitplantage, Rabjerg Mose and Rabjerg Mile, Europe's northernmost migrating dune and the closest thing to a real desert at our latitude, though without exotic animals. You will find plenty of those at the family park Farm Fun. Close to Aalbaek, this cozy animal park with a playground lets you meet well-known Danish farm animals, as well as kangaroos, emus, guinea pigs, peacocks, and many more.

Nice place We got superior room Internet, Coffee and balcony was the extra in the room The moulded wine was awfully had the taste for several hours Christmas dinner was good and the wine matched the door The bed was great to sleep in

We stayed three nights on a road trip to Northern Jutland. The hotel is situated at the highway and within a short walk from the railway station in the town of Aalbæk, a town with about 1,500 inhabitants. Good parking is available right outside the hotel which is laid out in a couple of different buildings. Despite the name of the hotel it should be noted that the beach is located a fifteen minutes walk away. Our room was of decent size with comfy beds and a small sitting group. It was reasonably quiet, clean and equipped with a coffee maker and a small tv, which missed an English news channel. Our rate included breakfast and evening meals. Breakfast was very good with a number of both hot and cold choices. Service throughout the hotel and the restaurants was very good. We were less impressed by the quality of the evening meals, which turned out to be of a very uneven quality and not up to our expectations.

Very polite and friendly service. The food was delicious and worth a visit even if you don't stay at the inn. There is parking right outside our room. We really enjoyed our time in Ålbæk. Thank you very much Ålbæk Gl. Kro.

"Excellent and fresh plaice fillets"

We had plaice fillets with homemade remoulade and lingonberries for lunch. The dish was fresh, excellent and much better than comparable dishes we have eaten in a long time. The service was very good and personal. Look for more reviews by MulleEllum.

We had plaice fillets with home made rye bread, tartar sauce and mountain cranberries for lunch. The meal was excellent. The service was quite all right as well. We will certainly be back. Look for more reviews by MulleEllum.
