Best Western Plus Boomtown Casino Hotel, Verdi

The hotel was nice clean. The steakhouse is tops.. Best steaks for price. Gaming is fun with nice wins on slots. Bar was fun great entertainment with good guitarist. Plenty of cocktail waitresses you will get drinks.

Beds were super comfortable in the North Tower. Staff very nice. Only complaints: Did not serve breakfast for a Plus hotel. Phone buttons didn't work too call desk. Toilet would not flush properly. TV remote did not work correctly to view guide. Elevator did not align flat with floor which was a little scary. Deli oven broken so no pizza or hot sandwiches. Craps and roulette not open during our stay. Was going to extend stay but due to table closures, left two days earlier.

We stay here often, our room has always been clean, front desk check in so sweet, very personal, we eat at the Steakhouse and at Mel's Diner and never have we been disappointed. The Coffee bar is also a top perk!

First I was escorted off the property because a man broke into a room and held hostages . The security here is almost non existent . Second during my 4 night stay house keeping never came to my room even after being notified twice. The room was tired and old . I heard staff talking poorly about their job and blantantly using profanity . Saw homeless wandering around and once again zero security . Terrible place

Boo town is a perfect get away and is always fun to stay can't complain everything was great and staff was fast and efficient enjoy staying at boomtown best western and will be back very shortly to enjoy another wonderful night

If all you need is a roof over your head and a place to gamble away a few dollars, then this is a place for you. The rooms are fine. But, the heating/cooling units are extremely loud - especially when they turn on to maintain the desired temperature. Aside from check in, the remainder of the hotel staff (in my opinion) do not understand the concept of customer service. The staff at the Steakhouse were very engaging and friendly. But, do not order the Prime Rib - worst I have ever had... seriously EVER! As for the gambling, it wasn't "bad." The slots were super tight. But, overall between myself and the party I was a part of at the tables, we left with a few dollars more than we came with. On the question of whether or not I'd stay here again... Yes, I would. But, only because it is across the street from the golf course I'm playing. IF I ever stay here again, I'll simply do so with much lower expectations.

I always like to stay at Best Western for their great service, amenities and value. I recommend Best Western over all the others. The place is always clean and I can always find what I need. My family likes to interact with the staff and my family members enjoy feeling important in the hotel's family friendly environment.

7/27/23-we asked for a room with ADA -mother needs a low bed, rails in the bathroom, wheelchair, and of course clean room. Our expectations were met beyond what we expected. Mother said she felt like she was in her own house. Also, microwave, & refrigerator.

Casino and rooms were terrible. Employees were rude. When we tried following up with a manager we never heard back. No one in our party won anything, not to mention the hosts were absolutely useless. That's what we deserve for going to some run down hole in the wall in the middle of nowhere instead of a real resort. To give you a good idea of what this place is like. Imagine staying in a horror movie motel such as the bates motel. Then imagine losing thousands in the casino and paying for the privilege of staying there. No worries though they mailed us a promotion inviting us back to their roach motel with $5 in freeplay and discounted room rates. Never again.

Disgusting establishment with rooms that smell like vomit, no decent food options and extremely tight slot machines. What a dumpster fire this place is. Mismanaged, unhappy employees as well. We could hear them all complaining about how bad upper management and the marketing department is. My wife and I got a good laugh. It's no wonder that there are hardly ever any customers playing. Way out of the way as well.

Boomtown is a great place to stay. Casino, fun center for kids. Swimming pool. Good food. Bed was comfortable. My parents used to bring us as kids, now I take my grandbabies. Would definitely recommend.

We have enjoyed stays at BoomTown Hotel Casino many times on the past few years. We enjoy the times in Reno and surrounding areas. So much so, that we re considering a move to live in Reno area. This trip was a chance to learn more of the social and 'life' realities in Reno. We basically took a 'deep dive' into the life Reno affords. We liked it!!!

We had a great stay here. This was our second time here to stay. We have had nothing but great experiences here. Plenty to do and everything you need there. Love the fact that they have a coffee shop on site and it's open later.

I was super impressed with how Clean the rooms are and the staff is wonderful I won a jackpot in the casino and just had a wonderful time....I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone in the future I live in Reno so this was just a nice little getaway and I am so happy I went...Thanks to everyone and to Klayton at the front desk was wonderful friendly and helpful...

Bed Bugs were found in my husbands room. He wondered why he was itching and getting bit. So finally on the 4 night, he pulled down the sheets and there were tons of BED BUGS! They moved him to another room and that room had DEAD BUGS in it. Cleanliness of the rooms is awful. Buffet was not open either due to Covid. He went January 2023. Covid is pretty much over.

We want to thank Boomtown and especially Gracie at the front desk for making us feel at home. We come to play Keno and celebrate my fathers 88 birthday and she was sure to be sure we had everything we needed including a room next to the elevator as my father uses a walker. Thank yoy

My family always love staying at boomtown. Away from the huge crowd. Nice and easy stay. Not Smokey. Pleasant staff. Overall, we love staying here and always the first hotel comes in our mind when we plan on visiting Reno/Tahoe.

At check in, I stood there as the 2 girls were playing on their phones showing them to each other until I cleared my throat and they realized I was there. When I checked in, I asked to leave a key for my son and put his name on the room as he would be arriving later and i wouldn't be back until Midnight. The girl with the piercing above her chin got a key and put it in a sleeve and wrote his name on it and said it would be ready for him. I asked if she also put his name on the room reservation and she said yes. At 9;30, I got a call from my son saying he couldn't check in because they couldn't find the key and his name was not on the room and that they had to wait for a manager. I called and explained the situation and the person put him on the room. By that time, the manager showed up and was rude telling him that I couldn't transfer the room to him ( which I didn't) and that they would make a one time exception. Upon check out, I asked to talk to a manager and was told they weren't available.

For the price and the quality you can't go wrong! Lots to do right there at Boomtown! Some interior is a little dated but not bad for the price at all! Pack up and go check it out! You will be glad you did!

We were most pleased by the large number of new slot games on the floor this time. And, they paid me some good money! Thanks for that. The room was fine and clean and comfortable. Mel's was great, as usual. It's the only one left in Reno since the Sands closed.

We arrived to a dirty tissue on the floor of our room. There was mold in the sill of our window. Twice during our stay we requested for our room to be made up and trash emptied, it was not done either time (although a portion of our rate was refunded as a result of complaining). The phone was broken in our room. We were enticed by the offer of an indoor pool, but the pool is dirty and dated, and it's quite cold to sit beside it during winter. There are plenty of other better properties in Reno for much more affordable rates, I don't think we'll be returning...

This hotel is conveniently located just west of Reno. Beds are pretty comfortable, heating system works well. They have an indoor pool for the kids and a full casino for the adults. Not a 5 star hotel, but a nice place to stay

Great services and options with fun center and pool however the rooms were a bit outdated. Service was good and friendly but also not consistent, some service members were not very friendly especially the service and valley.

Staff seemed to be minimal. Cocktail waitresses were hard to find and not friendly or prompt. Dinner at Mel's was slow and food was not correct, was cold and not very good. Staff seemed short. I had a coupon for food but was not pleased with me meal.

If you want an affordable fun place to visit with your children, this is the place to visit. Inside pool, lower priced game room and fun mini rides for all ages. Small property makes it easy to wander around and has a safe environment away from the big city. Microwave for reheating or heating food and small fridge for your drinks. An affordable place to go with kids and not break the pocket book.

At Boomtown, I stayed in a room where, apparently, maintenance was needed next door; however, I was not informed/warned of this, nor was I offered a different room, so as to avoid the extremely loud pounding noise of hammers banging on walls. I was unable to use my room for part of the afternoon on 11/23/22, due to the extremely loud noise, and was abruptly woken from sleep on 11/24/22 by the shocking noise of hammers pounding on the wall where my headboard rested. This is not acceptable for a guest, and I felt it should be brought to the attention of management, where perhaps some remedy could be offered. The ladies working the front desk were very kind; they were apologetic and conveyed caring. However, the day manager/supervisor (an older white male with a thin build and glasses) on Thanksgiving Day (11/24/22) was extremely dismissive and quite rude when I brought my concerns to him; he did not take any responsibility, made lame excuses that made no sense, and made absolutely no effort to make things right— he failed even to offer a sincere apology-! The behavior of the manager/supervisor ruined my stay, and my holiday— this was actually worse than the noise, because it “added insult to injury”-! And, since I was given no assurance that this would not happen again, I will not recommend others stay at this hotel-!

The rooms were over priced, the casino was smoked filled and the Fun center open so late that kids were able to enjoy it either. The food at Mels was the best part, as they serve up a great dinner and breakfast.

We made reservations for one night here and also the steak house for dinner. The room was clean and everything worked. There is a nice tv, fridge, coffee maker, microwave, and safe. The king size bed was very comfortable and had plenty of accessible outlets. The steak house we have visited before and already knew how good the food and staff are. We celebrated our mother's and her sister's 85th birthday with 7 of us and it was perfect.

One night the power went out. They were running part of the casino on battery back up because the emergency generator didn't work. No power in any of the rooms for about 4 hours from 11 P.M. to 3 A.M. Then to cap it off, the water was shut off the next morning without any warning. Housekeeping didn't clean the room during our 3 night stay and the housekeepers, when asked, would not replace our bath towels. Not a great way to spend a 29th anniversary.

Fun for the whole family from the arcade to gambling there is something for everyone! Take a dive in the indoor pool or hit the weights at the fitness center! Pricing of arcade and the deli are very reasonable, if you are on a budget and have a big family like me Boomtown is definitely the place for you!

This was the first time we stayed here (and not the last). It was clean, beautifully decorated, lots of pillows and staff was first rate! We will definitely go back.. All the gambling was a total blast also!

I wish we hadn't been rushing in and out of town so quickly. The band downstairs was playing some of my favorite classic rock, people were dancing, and the family fun center would've been perfect for my teenage boys if we'd had more than a couple of hours to relax. As it was, we enjoyed a late dinner at Mel's, and slept in a very quiet, very dark room (it was perfect). Only one issue would be in the bathroom; the shower wasn't cleaned well and the floor tiles were buckling a little (like the building could crumble underneath us, but that's just my mind playing tricks... it was fine.) I would definitely stay there again!!

Stayed here, on my way home from California. This is a beautiful casino, restaurant and hotel. Comfy and quiet room, easy to get to and the complimentary soap ,shampoo, etc. we're awesome. I was worried about, road noise, but it was quiet!!!

We took our grandson here for his sixth birthday so he could enjoy the indoor pool. However, they closed the pool with no notification and no discount. Our grandson was crushed and we resorted to bribery at the Boomtown Fun Center to make it up to him; it would've been nice if the hotel offered to cover some of that cost with a complimentary Fun Center card or something but they were not apologetic in the least because the closure was "unforseen" so they felt justified to ignore the feelings of our grandson or to offer anything as a consolation. Very disappointing to feel like their staff is so out of touch or prevented from "doing the right thing" when something goes wrong on their property. Thank goodness Mel's food and service, as always, was stellar! (It would've been even better if there were a microwave in the room, though, to heat up our leftovers from the night before...)

I will stay at this hotel again. I like when they have special room rates, discounts on food and gas. It's a little out of the way but if u don't mind it being a little quiet then its the perfect getaway up in the mountains

The North Tower is the remodeled part of the hotel. The hotel is nice. I requested room service to have my room cleaned. It never happened. I was very disappointed. Also, I was awakened at 6:00 am for a fire alarm.. There were no apologies for the aforementioned inconviencies.

The property is very spread out and is difficult to navigate, unless you carry a GPS. Furthermore, the food at Mel's Diner was tasteless institutional food and nothing to rave about. But the most irritating thing experienced is that my wife and I stayed for 5 days, and our room was not cleaned once during the time period !!! Each time we called the front desk requesting cleaning, we were given lip service and promises, but no results. WE WILL NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN !!!!!!

Dear Public, I'm A Disabled Veteran Who's Experience At Boomtown Hotel And Casino In Verdi Was A 3 Day Nightmare And Over All Bad Experience For The Price, Or As They Say, You Get What You Pay For Even If It's Free. I Rented A Hotel Room At Boomtown To Attend A Family Wedding Only To Deal With The Following... 1. Hotel Room, Subpar , Small, Not Sanitized And Poorly Cleaned, Toilet Would Not Flush Completely, Tub Backed Up, Sink Poorly Cleaned, Didn't Trust Using The Coffee Maker Or Microwave Because Of Overall Room Condition. 2. Last I Checked, COVID Still Exists, But At Boomtown, You Would Not Believe So With Most Of The Staff And Guest Running Around The Entire Premise Unmasked Like They're At A Super Spreader Event Not Knowing Who Might Be Carriers Gave Me Great Concern, Countering This Message: What you can expect during your stay All linens sanitized in high-temperature wash Face masks required for guests in public areas Face masks required for staff in public areas Hand sanitizer available to guests & staff Stay-at-home policy for staff with symptoms Regularly sanitized high-traffic areas Staff required to regularly wash hands Daily temperature and symptom checks for staff Contactless check-in Contactless check-out Individually wrapped toiletries 3. An Fire Alarm Emergency Event Happened Around 05:00am 09/18/2022 Which Caused The Guess Of The Entire Hotel To Empty Into The Parking Lot And First Responders To Respond, To Said Emergency, With Very Little To No Guidance Or Information As To The Nature Or Cause Of The Event From Hotel Staff/ Security. All Was Said Was Not To Return To Rooms On The 1st Floor, But Nothing Mentioned As To Why? 4. A Hotel Staffer Came Out To Address The Guess In The Parking Lot Stating That All Guess Hotel Fees Would Be Reimbursed And No Charges Would Be Posted For Their Stays And That A Extra Free Night Would Given To All Guess For The Inconvenience. 5. Upon Check, Out My, Dog A Cute Adorable Pomchi (Chihuahua/Pomeranian) Small Dog That Minds His Own Business Until His Or My/Spouse's Space Is Invaded By Strangers Which Happened To Occur To Which The Hotel's General Manager Decides To Ban My Dog indefinitely For Reason Unknown Other Than Our Skin Complexion (African American) Because The Guess (White) Of Course Decided Try In An Attempt To Pet Our Dog Without Our Permission. 6. On Top Of The Alleged Incident With Our Pomchi, The Hotel Manager With A Dismissal/ Hostile Attitude Towards My Fiancee' And I (Must Be Our Skin Color) Would Not Refund Our Pet Stay, Stating It Was Not Part Of The Hotel Fees Even As I Tried To Explain The Blanket Statement Of "All Hotel Fees Being Reimbursed" As Quoted By One Of The Boomtown Hotel Staff Member As He Addressed The Hotel Guess Gathered In The Hotel Parking Lot Awaiting Conformation As To Why We Were All Evacuated By The 05:00 Fire Alarm That Occurred On 09/18/2022. Take Away From The 3 Day Stay, Boomtown Has Officially Been Wiped From My Vacation Stay On Any Occasion, Not Only Because Of The Condition Of The Room But The Attitude Of Staff Reflecting Those Conditions, Both To Whom Are Poorly Maintained And Negligent Providing Substandard Service To The Customer. We use to love BoomTown. We like that it's away from the hustle and bustle. But the rates have gone up so high that we would rather stay on the strip. The AC in our room was loud and annoying. It woke us up during the night. The tub did not drain properly. If the rates are going to be higher than the Peppermill then please at least make it worth it.

8 night stay and received no cleaning services, had to fi ally resort to placing trash in hall or taking out myself. Asked for fresh towels on day 6 and never received them, unfortunately I am not the type to make a big spectacle if I can manage on my own, I will just avoid the place in the future. It is a shame cause it is just fine other than service and lack of staff isn't a reasonable excuse for 9 straight days

It is an ADA room because I am in a wheelchair, the restroom was wonderful, I wanted to take it home with me! The bed headboard is beautiful and we loved the soft brown colors of the room. I hope we can get the same room when we pass through in the future.

We had a two room suite which was pretty nice. Very spacious! Clean rooms except we had bugs on our window sill and webs and bugs covering our balcony lights. The amenities were good. Bathrooms are HUGE!! Overall, I was happy with our stay

Enjoy playing slots machine table game front office very friendly I decided to stay for a night they gave me complimentary room to spend a night enjoyed free drinks and meal discount loss money but I enjoyed playing casino come back again next month

Our non smoking room stunk of cigarettes the entire facility very strong odor of Cigarettes and marijuana. The beds very uncomfortable and air conditioning very noisy. I will say the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Boomtown thanks for the discounted deal, but you can keep the smelly cigarette smoke and tatty decor.The dungeon like halls with “Art” really? The best thing about Boomtown was the Staff,every person was polite, helpful and friendly

Great stay. Won money. Got alot of comps. Clean rooms. Friendly staff. Couldn't ask for anything more other than upgrade the coffee and creamer in the room. But Peets coffee is down stairs and that is a big plus!

This is my go to Hotel at Boomtown. Always clean easy to get to. I have always had a great experience when I stay here. I would highly recommend this hotel to my friends and family. The fun center is also very enjoyable!

Staff here is amazing, they take care of every need. Rooms are very clean overall experience is awesome. Location is close to Reno without all the downtown hustle and bustle. Also close to Truckee river river and plenty of other attractions. They also have an indoor pool, and a great family fun center. Restaurants are fully staffed with amazing service.

Everything was wonderful with my stay. I had no issues. I enjoyed using my free comps and actually one money at the Black Jack Table. The entire staff was professional and tolerated my stay. I would highly recommend this hotel and services to others.

People are unfriendly, room is small, no breakfast, yelling in parking lot, no security to stop the people. Not up to Best Western Plus standards. It may be good with children since they have mini golf and merri go round, but nothing else

I have been coming and staying here for over the last 15+ years. The Mel's Diner is open 24/7 Excellent service, staff and amenities including the indoor pool. There is a Cabela's and Chevron gas station nearby and also a KOA campground. One of my favorite places to stay when visiting the Reno area !!!

I love this hotel because it's a very kid friendly hotel with a pool and an arcade And a very vintage place to eat however it takes you forever to get your food at Mel's it could take you at least 40 minutes just to get your order taken after you get your drink also The room was quite a mess in the bathroom the tub was very unsanitary with other people‘s hair and blood droplets around also the maids come knocking on the door to get you out before it's even time to leave and check out

Very nice rooms, very comfortable beds. Had all the amenities in the room, Microwave, Refrigerator, and a small Safe. Coffee maker and place to get ice! staff friendly, very clean and did not smell like smoke, which alot of casinos do! Offered dinks and had a Great Band Playing! Parking was great! I was traveling with my mom that was handicap. GREAT handicap accessible rooms, with 2 beds! More do not have this!!!! A GREAT place to stay and gamble! Definitely Recommend it!!!

Boomtown is a very quaint casino. Staff is excellent. Mel's restaurant is great. Casino pays if you hit right machine, saw many winners. Servers were always they to ask you if you would like a beverage. Great experience

Boomtown Review I and my husband are both disabled. we needed ice and the ice machine on our floor was broken. according to another guest in the room for ice the machine had been broken for days. i called the front desk asking for help in getting some ice. “Hailey" answered the front desk phone and ended up screaming at me and hanging up on me. literally screaming! I called back and ask for a supervisor. “Sarah" answered and lied to me. she said she could "hear" me screaming at Hailey. i did not once raise my voice! i was in shock! she hung up on me also after promising to connect me to security, which she did not do. i had to call a third time and ask for security. i had earlier in the day ask a security person, "Jimmy" for a bottle of water and he very sweetly brought me 3 bottles. once i finally got to security Jimmy answered the phone and promised to bring me ice within 10 minutes. He did so and i tipped him very well for the second time that day. Being disabled made it impossible for us to go wandering around other floors looking for ice and that was the only suggestion i got from the front desk. i was so angry i swore we will never stay at boomtown best western again. and we will not. Sarah told me she will be "looking forward to reading my review". well, here it is and i will make certain that nobody i know ever stays at your hotel in the future. we paid too much money for your room (nearly $200.00) to be treated this way. we also had to wait, standing, at the front desk for 30 minutes while a supervisor "inspected" our room because i have a service dog. the room had stains on the carpet, stains on the cement floor of the balcony (all of which i took photos of as soon as we saw them) and my service dog did not make a single stain. she is too well trained for that. it is also a non smoking room but i took photos out the balcony window of hundreds of cigarette butts of all kinds on the ground outside.we over tip, we have money. i even tipped the maid for our room cleaning and tipped the other maid who brought us more coffee packets. i did not tip the front desk when we were leaving due to all the mistreatment we had. we both had prime rib and lobster from Mel's steakhouse and it was expensive but so good it was worth every penny. your front desk personnel were horrible to us. i will be leaving this same review on yelp and any other place i can find. people need to know these things before they give you their money.

Guests at Boomtown are treated like family. All the personnel are friendly, helpful, and respond immediately to requests. The fitness room is fully stocked with weights, medicine balls, mat, and cardio machines. The rooms are luxurious. The restaurants offer great food and ambiance. The games are amazing and there is a fun center for children. Lots of deals and rewards are offered when you sign up for an account. We have a wonderful time whenever we visit.

I booked my stay for 3 nights and was able to use my $20. food credit for my breakfast at Mel's Dinner which was delicious. I was able to use my free play at the slot machines and came up on my money. The hotel service was very friendly and the room was perfect. I don't want to brag to much because I don't want it to be fully booked next time I need to stay.

I could never recommend this place based on my last stay. The room was crawling with ants and roaches in the bathroom. Housekeeping staff was unbelievably rude when we asked for room service. Called four times and nobody serviced our room for a three night stay. Security was overly aggressive and accusatory about a theft issue at the hotel/casino, then made very little apology when the issue was resolved. Check in staff was great, though. The lady at the front desk was very polite. This place wants 100 plus dollars a night the room and service you get isn't even worth half that in my opinion. Could have easily stayed at a hotel 6 and had a better experience for less.

Half of the gaming floor smelt like a dirty diaper. The hallways haven't been vacuumed, a dirty drink glass was left by the 2nd floor elevator for more than 24 hours. The shower in our room smelt and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months with pink goo growing in it. The left side night stand area smelt like someone urinated next to it. Told we could ask for housekeeping but we're not likely to get it due to short staff. VERY DISSAPOINTED in the Boomtown Best Western Plus, I expected better from a BW Plus property. I've stayed in downtown motels that were cleaner.

I travel a lot for business and have stayed in various hotels throughout California and the Nevada border area. This Best Western gets a rare excellent rating from me. The room was big enough not to feel I'm in a closet, the bathroom was wider than any other hotel which is the preferable dimensions rather than long. AC didn't sound like a broken down airplane and wasn't those digital ones that you can't keep the fan on. Internet worked quite well most of the time, except in the mornings when the server was always down. The only issue was the tiny mini fridge. This model was narrower than the standard size, making it hard to fit much inside it. Plus it had no separate freezer compartment and does not stay running 24/7. You have to push a button inside every two hours to keep it on/running. As one who travels with perishable food and works out in the field all day, it was difficult to get my freezer blocks frozen enough to last all day in a cooler. Other than that, the bed while soft, wasn't too much that I had any back aches. Highly recommend if you want to stay outside Reno for a competitive price/service point.

Soft clean beds. Room had coffee pot, microwave, refrigerator with 2 hr freeze cycle option. Pleasant staff. John, the concierge, was witty, entertaining, and very pleasant to talk with. Delicious lamb chops and Caprese salad at the Steakhouse. Mel's Diner is a great place for breakfast. Right now (June 2022) there is a lot of construction in the area, so the drive to the hotel was tricky, but manageable.

What a blast! Our room (a huge King suite with a a balcony) was top-notch. And my gambling money went far. We stayed two nights and had SO much fun. The only bummer was I lost my debit card somehow, but everyone from Security and even the cocktail waitress helped me to look for it. We never did find it, but that's on me.

People are super friendly in any part of the hotel that you go to restaurants everywhere Love that they have music all afternoon you just have a lot of fun there better than going into town we just like to stay there and hang around and gamble

Off the beaten track for Reno, but definitely worth a stay. Just 9 freeway miles from downtown, Boomtown is a smaller hotel/casino than the typical Reno hotel/casino. I noticed a different atmosphere from downtown's large corporate casinos. Every staff member we dealt with was friendly and eager to help. Mel's is the only restaurant besides the pricy steak house. Mel's menu is large with generous servings of good old fashioned American cuisine. And reasonable. Recommended!

We stayed over a weekend with kids and grandkids. We had a king bedroom which was very nice and the Grand Suite which was very roomy. The suite has only a very small refrigerator and a microwave. I would love to see them upgrade their grand suites to include full size refrigerators and coffee makers. The furniture was a bit dated, but adequate. The kids loved the massive arcade which included games for all ages. They have an amazing collection of western memorabilia and signed guitars. I had a great time listening to live music at the guitar bar. The casino is well laid out, open, and airy. They do a good job of keeping the smoke to a minimum. I was impressed with hotel staff from front desk to bell staff, everyone was engaging, helpful, and cheerful. The staff seem to enjoy where they work. I was disappointed to find that their pool was closed after being told it would be open, but overall we thoroughly enjoyed the trip and will likely visit again.

There must be some sorta mold growing in the walls or something because it's the mustiest hotel room I have ever experienced and the manager accused me of lying when there was a miscommunication between my pregnant girlfriend and a receptionist who put us in a smoking room.

Boomtown has never disappointed us. Always clean and fun things going on. We stay in the North tower and our rooms have always been clean and inviting..with beautiful Mountain View's. Restaurants have great affordable food choices and the gift shop has a nice selection of items. Overall stays have been excellent that's why it's the only place we stay at in Reno.

Needed to keep asking for more towels and more coffee need better accommodations. A bigger pool and a Jacuzzi would be nice and easier access to the casino floor. Staff was very loud during the day and I was resting.

nice an quite comfortable bed the promo price was great the room was clean and the wifi worked well. We did however call for an extra blanket to be brought to our room but they never brought it. the petes coffee was good and so was mels for breakfast

Stay away from this sleezy hotel. If you are about something sleezy amd dirty this is for you! The staff wasnt friendly, long waits for food, cockroaches in my room. The entire place smelled of smoke and weed.

I stay here almost every time I go to Reno. The price is good. Its clean. Has stuff for the kids, like the arcade and the pool. For the adults, the gaming is good and the Guitar Bar always has great music and a smiling bartender named Albert.

My Favorite Casino to stay in Reno Nighly live Bands, Great staff and games, Nice pool great resturants to eat and wonderful rooms with microwaves which no charge for the and resort fees the best other casinos charge giving you more money to gamble, eat and shop at gift shop!

We had one-night stay for the next day ski trip at North Star. The location was closer compared with Reno hotels, as the Truckee choice was very limited. The hotel has a big casino, which we did not use. The room was clean and sleep was great!

One of our favorite places to stay when we come to Reno. They have great service, happy, and friendly staff. Also for a hotel that allows small dogs the rooms are very clean and never smell. We are always satisfied when when we stay.

We are Best Western members, and this hotel does not meet the hotel standards of room quality that we have found at many other locations. The room is old, run down and icky like a cheap motel. Air conditioning was lacking and the refrigerator would not get cold enough.

I stay here a lot and the rooms are nice, spacious and clean They have in room coffee,fridge,microwave and safe There's a Pete's coffee and a Mel's Diner that are conveniently located downstairs My main complaint is there are a lot of noisy guests that stay here( it is a casino) and you can't fault the hotel for their unruly guests

I was harassed for no reason and told to leave the bar when all I was doing was drinking a few beers. just because the young woman bartender that just got on shift overheard that I was a Trump supporter and immediately called security and kicked me out of their establishment for no reason at all. I guess you have to be a Democrat to stay in this establishment!

I've used this facility before, and it was as good as before. As a small skiing group, we used the suite room that is very comfortable. Because this is also the Casino, there is always plenty of ways to entertain yourself or group. And, the Steakhouse is so very good. Not only the food but the service.

The Bed and pillows was very nice and comfortable. The Room was very beautiful The staff is always so friendly I would recommend this hotel to all my family and friends. The water was really nice not to hot or cold.

Very nice place to stay. All of the people we had contact with were very cordial. They answered any questions we may have had and solved any issues that we had. Not just the indoor workers were helpful but also the outdoor employees made me aware of the condition of the pavement early in the morning when the pavement was damp.

Michelle at the front desk is rude not very helpful at all. Room was filthy used soap and shampoo bottles left in the shower. Dust and dirt all over the room. Tv did not work. Housekeeping was asked 2 different times to clean the room and put fresh towels. Not once did they clean it or restock it.

Booked a last minute get away to Tahoe with family. As all the hotels in Tahoe/Truckee were booked, came across Boomtown, which I've past on the highway many times. It's down, off the mountain, but only a short drive. Turned out to be an excellent stay. Room was big, beds were comfortable and the Steakhouse was excellent! There is also a swimming pool, casino and family fun center that we didn't take advantage of this trip, but on another visit, we might. Very satisfied with our stay.

Boomtown is a hotel casino located just outside of Reno NV. We stay there once a month. Live music is great surprisingly. Cool indoor pool, great players club perks like free rooms. Perfect or a staycation.

I stayed here with my family (wife and 3 teenagers) We stay here while on a snowboarding trip. It was about 45min to Palisade Tahoe. This is not a 5-star resort, that said, for the price it was a great place to stay. Yes, it is a casino so there were people having fun and staying up late, but that is to be expected. We went to Soda Springs and stayed at Best Western Plus, which is 30 mins drive from the ski resort. We had dinner and breakfast at Mel's, the food was so delicious. The service was fast. Reasonable price. We would definitely come back

excellent facilities offered at all levels. great casino floor without the massive crowds that you face downtown Reno, yet very close to downtown if you prefer the hassle of crowds. very quiet accommodations once you are in your room while a short distance away , people are happy and in a party mood and appear to be having a great time.

Horrible, Disgusting unenjoyable experience! Smelled horrible, sinks didnt work correctly at all, no hot water, heater made crazy loud noise, bathtub didnt hold water and could not get hot! Rude customee service

I really enjoy coming to Boomtown. I come here 3-4 times a year and it's always a fun time. The entertainment at the Guitar Bar was especially good with the blonde lady singing!!! It is also a great venue to see a concert at.

One of our favorite places to go with our family where you will enjoy good food any time of the day or night, offerring great services of hosts during your stay as well as comfort and cleanliness of rooms. The steakhouse is a must; staff and food are awesome. So very delicious. Overall a clean hotel. Beds are comfy. The balconies are not traditional but served its purpose. Entertainment in the bar was great. The gaming areas were not over crowded.

Boomtown is comfortable, small and cozy. The beds and rooms are comfortable. It would be nice if the coffee service in the rooms came with Kerig coffee maker. The TV sound would cut out intermittently. Housekeepers are cordial and provide supplies you need suchas bottled water, coffee and towels.

Comfortable room, lots of parking space, decent restaurants, all under one roof. Pool available as well as in room coffee, in addition room service was offered. Peet's coffee, Mel's diner, and a steak house to choose from. We felt very safe here.Away from noise and traffic of Reno.

I like staying at this hotel when I'm in the Reno area. It's in a location away for the hustle and bustle, so it's a bit more relaxing than the hotels in the downtown Reno area. The grounds and building are clean and feel pretty safe. The rooms are clean and comfy, and I usually have a nice view. I like playing in the casino and I really like the steakhouse.

Great place, kind, courteous, and helpful staff! Will stay again! Pool area was clean with plenty of towels and room. I highly recommend staying here. It was child friendly and had an Arcade for children!

Lady at the desk during checkout was rude and unresponsive to my needs for a luggage cart. In my opinion she was lazy and not willing to do her job. She either needs more training or to be dismissed from her employment.

They did not have accurate information that was provided when I placed my reservation by telephone one week prior to my visit. I arrived at noon requesting early check-in which is normally 4 PM. After checking with the front desk three times, finally at 3:45 PM room was ready. Girl at front desk said to me well you still got an early check-in! 15 minute early check-in. I can't believe she had the nerve to say that to me!

Excellent service. Staff was friendly, courteous and went out of there way to make our stay enjoyable. Good breakfast and relaxing time in the casino. Even won a few dollars. Plenty of parking close to our room. The only disappointment was to come home and find out that someone cloned my ATM card and made a withdrawal. Hopefully the crook will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. The hotel was great to stay at and I would not hesitate to stay there again.

When traveling to Reno try staying at Boomtown in Verdi just a few miles away then come and go to Reno as you please. This is a fun place for families and couples and is dog friendly. We enjoy the quality service and friendly staff. Amenities and gaming and plenty of parking. Mel's diner, the Steakhouse and a Deli, the kid's fun center, live music and promotions. Boomtown is our “get away spot.” Everything in one place and The City of Reno nearby for visiting or special events.

Extremely friendly employees in all departments. Excellent customer service. Will definitely stay here again in the near future. Nice property, big rooms, comfortable beds, and pillows. Steak house is great.

Place for children, friendly and helpful staff plus excellent food and drink. Gas deals available. Many truckers stay and good Security. Glad to see Mask policy enforced. Parking close but no Valet because of Covid.

Brought my senior citizen parents here for the weekend. They loved the casino. Lots of game choices, plenty of room to get around in my moms scooter. Not a ton of people so there were no crowds too fight.

My friends and I were told to be quiet while we celebrate winning on craps table. This was on a Saturday night during Labor Day Weekend. No wonder the place seems dead even during holidays. You are not allowed to be loud as you have fun.

We enjoyed our stay. We lost the money we came to play with, but we won many times, enabling us to continue playing. Machines didn't just take our money with low play time, so it was fun. Great food, most employees very friendly. Common areas were kept clean, we felt safe.

Fire victim taken advantage of. False advertising No ethics Poor staff! Prices are overdosed for the area. Charge resort fees and is located on a lonely highway. I requested a disability room and when I checked at the registration desk, I was advised none. lack of a shower and safety bar prohibited me for a shower-bath. Had to sponge bath myself using a wash cloth which was entirely satisfactory and reflected this information to my convention companions

We were sent to the wrong tower and spent at least 1/2 hr+ trying to find our room. The sink in our bathroom was clogged. The service in the steakhouse was extremely slow. The staff was friendly and the food was good.

We were looking for a dog friendly hotel while on a road trip. Best Western Plus has always been a great place to stay. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case here. On checking in, the receptionist was very nice and said he would put us on the first floor with the dog. What he didn't tell us was that it was at the very far end of the first floor with no entrance so we were forced to walk and walk and walk with the dog. There was an employee pickup zone just outside our room and we were treated to listening to the employees yell at each other. They left a real mess there too This is definitely a socks on motel. It's filthy! They must not have a very good ventilation system because the smoke was so thick in the casino. While this hotel came up when I googled “dog friendly hotel Reno”, it's actually about 10 miles out of town. On a positive note, we had dinner in the steak house and it was one of the best rib eyes I've had in years.

We've stayed at the Boomtown Best Western a few times and each stay is great. The rooms are spacious and have a fridge and microwave. The staff are super responsive and helpful. There are several restaurants on site, a family fun center, as well as the casino. The only downside is that the walls don't seem to have a lot of insulation, so it's pretty easy to hear louder noise in the surrounding rooms (i.e. kids laughing/ playing and being kids, partners in a disagreement). These things didn't bother us as they were during the day and we were up already; but something to know if you're a light sleeper or have an untraditional sleep schedule.

I recently stayed three nights at the Boomtown Casino Hotel. I have stayed here many times in the past. I am never dissatisfied with all aspects of my stay. You have everything you need right at your finger tips. Also if you want to venture out, Reno is a quick jot up the road and the possibilities are endless.

Room was not comfortable at all . Mountain view from room a joke. Not at all clean. Bad smell throughout North tower . Elevators , hallway and room . Smoke alarm was completely covered by previous guest also after housekeeping did their job . Tacky !!! Not my job either let's see how long it stays covered for .

My girlfriend and I needed a getaway with her two toddlers and chose Boomtown. It had all the animity's for a family. Games, pool, food, and gambling. The game room people were so kind and friendly. Beds in the South Tower were not comfortable, the refrigerator was very loud. Room was clean and staff were friendly, but it we were not able to get a good nights sleep. We've stayed in the North tower and were pleased, but not this trip. The prices were more than double than years past, possibly due to post Covid. Overall disappointed for the price we paid :(

Stayed here for the first time and it was nice. Went to Mels for breakfast and gambled a bit. Overall great experience and we will definitely be coming back with friends again. Can't wait to come back!

My Aunt and Uncle love this hotel. After learning it had a family play area we decided to stay here. Everyone at the front desk was great! We ate at Mel's and the Steak House, both were amazing! My husband is still raving about his steak. The power was out for a few hours but only a few things were closed down because of it. Everything in our room was still on. It wasn't their fault, it was something outside their control but they handled it well. Will definitely stay there again!!

I had an early flight on Sunday morning. The front desk agent on Saturday night said they would call and request a cab for me for 4am on Sunday. On Sunday morning the cab was not there, the front desk agent was not helpful. He didn't even know the phone number for the cab company. By the time I called the cab company, they didn't have any available cabs. I couldn't get to the airport and the front desk agent was no help. I missed my flight and couldn't get another flight for 8 hours. I will never stay at this hotel ever again. I am very disappointed that the owner of this property would allow their staff to conduct themselves in this manner.

Awesome hotel and great rates. Greeted as we entered, very quickly checked in. We were given coffee, water,cups and service sets. They saw our grandsons were hot, they gave them extra waters to cool off. Nice to have non smoking rooms.

Rooms are always clean and fresh. They never disappoint. There's food available, games for the kids, pool for the family, and a gift shop incase you forgot anything or need to take home a souvenir. We come at least 3x a year

We scheduled a golf tee time in Washoe and Boomtown is our favorite place to stay, eat & gamble after. They always make the effort to accommodate our room preference (non-smoking and close to elevators). With Covid safety still in place, they ask and give you your complimentary waters and coffee at the desk. We needed extra towels and requested it at the desk, which they later delivered a bag full of towels. Our room was freshly cleaned but missing cups, so we sought out the cleaning personnel and got extra cups. Great experience as always, saw 2 big winners during our stay. Disappointed the Buffet is still closed though. All in all, Boomtown provides excellent and dependable service and entertainment.

Last minute arrival, they looked us up and we had one free stay so we got free room enjoyed our stay.so greatfull ! All was clean had a great time , restraunt was enjoyable to eat, nice music , band was playing enjoyable music,

After a close friend recently loss his father of 96yrs, I started reflecting on how blessed I am to still have my dad and decided I was going to spoil him on Fathers Day weekend with an all expense paid trip. I have stayed here many times and it was a pleasant experience; however lately every time I've stayed there has been a problem and the staff has been less than helpful or polite. The rooms are pretty nice and the music is awesome but some of the staff members are very rude, not helpful and have left me with a bad taste for this casino. My last experience there was 100% horrible! But as I previously stated I have had Pleasant experiences in the past. Not all of the staff members are rude just mostly the people at the front desk including the managers.

It's a great place to go to get away from it all. It would have been nice if the pool was open but thanks to freaking COVID and the idiots in Washington wanting everyone to get infected it wasn't. I'm definitely gonna stay here again

Good place to stop and relax. Great restaurant variety and choices of activities. Room very plasant and comfortable. Time passes quickly here. The steak and lobster is a great deal in a very elegant setting.

We showed up at 10:30 at night and stayed until 8:30 in the morning. When we got there there was no one to take our baggage in for us. Not even a baggage cart we could use for ourselves. Then the clerk tells me they are going to put a $75.00 deposit on my credit card. Ten minutes later I get a text from the credit card company saying they had charged $295.00. Turns out they rape for the room and keep a $75.00 deposit for the duration of your stay. Cost for 10 hours in hotel: $220.00.

6 days and 5 nights and everything was great! Highly recommend the SteakHouse!! The staff at Mel's was always super friendly.. we had Mel's several times over the six days. We never left the hotel and had multiple encounters with several staff members. The gift shop staff, front desk staff, cocktail servers, security, housekeeping/ janitorial, bar tenders....etc. ALL the staff was great!! We already have reservations for another trip...SOON!!

It's a quiet beautiful setting. No one complained about my kids being loud. The beds were beyond comfortable. We loved it. They have rides in the fun center. And they have games starting at 25 cents. AMAZING

As always, we were welcomed by the check-in staff and got our room quickly. We got to our and found it clean and ready for us. The first night Donna won over $800 on a one dollar bet. That started us out great and we continued to enjoy ourselves. The last night I won enough to pay for the trip. A great time had by all.

Hotel is nice and clean. Room looked freshly painted and all rooms have a mini fridge and microwave. This is a quieter casino (which I enjoy). If your looking for a lively place for the weekend, this may not be the place for you. The live music is a treat, but the bands are hit and miss.

The rooms were very clean and affordable. The staff is very friendly and they let you check in early if you arrive early . They have casino and arcade downstairs. The parking is easy accessible. Overall great place for the whole family.

I've stayed here too many times to count, each time was a pretty good experience the staff are always very nice and helpful. I used to enjoy the lobster buffet that is now not open due to Covid but will be returning shortly. The gaming is good as well. As far as the rooms they could be updated with a more modern fresh look as well as fixing some chipped paint here in there near the shower area along with filling in the spaces where the grout had fallen out in the shower just so it didn't look so questionable it's not the Ritz for sure but definitely worth the stay I just wish they cleaned details a little more thoroughly. The doors are very easy to hear through and so are the walls which is a bummer so please request to stay away from the icemaker and the elevators because it will wake you up at night.

We could not get into our normal Reno Hotel because there were numerous college/high school tournaments going on in town, so we had to book at Boomtown. Boy are we glad we did. The hotel is big and loud and cheesy, which is awesome. Perfect Nevada hotel! We were greeted by Charlie who is extremely helpful, friendly and professional. After we got checked in, We schlepped our luggage to our north tower Mountain View room, dropped it off and headed down to the casino for a drink and dinner. Dinner was awesome, the drinks got us tipsy, and the Motown cover duo in the bar was fun to sing along with. On our way back to the room I stopped and put two dollars in my slot machine and won 30. We headed back to the room and lay down on an extremely uncomfortable mattress, which was the only negative part of the trip. Fortunately, or unfortunately, for us we were so damn tired we slept like rocks. We are definitely planning on trying this hotel again.

Staff was really rude. Sheets were dirty. The power went out twice and then it smelt like burning wires. No one there was helpful with anything. I would not recommend this location at all! Very dissatisfied

My name is James Gutierrez and I am a 72 year old Retired USAF Veteran and I totally like Boomtown Hotel & Casinovery much and when I get promotions I take full advantage and enjoy being there.  My Players card# is 932901. On Friday, 4/23/21, since I have 3 nights free, I had made a 2 night free days reservation at this facility for Friday andSaturday night leaving Sunday.  On Saturday, about 3pm, I was playing on a penny machine that was close to your HooterSaloon, I got a bar waitress attention at my machine and asked her for a bottled water, she said ok, I have played on thispenny machine all the way till 6pm and never gotten a bottled water, I looked around for this waitress and seen that shewas doing some cleaning on some machines, I thought she looked at me, she ignored me, and she went somewhere else.At 6pm, I left my machine to have dinner at the Boomtown Steakhouse and no bottled water. On the evening of Saturday night 4/24/21, approximately 11pm, I had made some complaints to an older elderly man thatworked there and I explained to him about the Bar waitress who did not get me the bottled water I have requested and hetook me over to the Hooter Saloon and introduced me to the Lady Bartender.  I have explained my situation to thisLady Bartender, she immediately started yelling at me and walked away, then I walked away and looked for a CasinoManager as this Lady Bartender was just being unprofessional and had an attitude and bad behavior. Since there was nocommunication or a resolvement from this unprofessional Lady Bartender, I seeked for a Casino Manager.  Before the Casino Manager,I was with a younger gentlemen who worked for the Casino Manager and I took him over to the Hooter Saloon, pointed to the Lady Bartender who yelled at me and walked away being unprofessional and did not want to hear me out, the Lady Bartender displayed a gangster like attitude, jumping up and down, waving her hand and shouting out to me and the young gentlemen, "Come on, Come on, I'm ready for you" like she was asking for a fight with a customer which is so unprofessional, bad behavior, and treating an elderly like me with such bad attitude and no respectwhat so ever.  Since I am on a variety of health medications, my hands and legs were like shaking afraid what this Lady Bartender was capableof, I walked away and waited for the Casino Manager.  All of this incident is on the Casino camera and I am not just making it up, it all happened.The Casino Manager finally came, I have explained to him of what had happened, he took notes, offerred me a bottled water and that was it.I had the feeling that this Casino Manager was not going to do anything and just let this incident pass and I felt like my nervousness and mymy personal feelings did not matter.  For all that, I felt like, I should have been compensated for the way I was treated badly.  Your respond in thismatter is greatly appreciated.

Check-In was quick but the room was not thoroughly cleaned as there was hair strands on both beds and in the bathroom sink and shower. We could also hear the upstairs guests walk around and flush their toilet. We asked for extra towels and toilet paper in the morning and were told we couldn't get any because Housekeeping didn't come in until 8:30.

Hotel was well managed. Employees went out of their way to make our stay a good one, especially Patrick at Mel's Diner. The manager at Mel's was top notch as well. The only issue we had is that we forgot our dogs bed and have not been contacted about it after a couple calls to lost and found.

Very clean and helpful staff. Everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Although I do wish the buffet was open and the pool. We only stayed one night but truly enjoyed our stay. Will be staying again in the future.

sheets on the bed were dirty we did not realize until we return from gambling late and we tried to contact housekeeping but no answer. had to sleep with no covers. sucked. kind of hard to rest when you feel the bed is dirty. mentioned it to the receptionist upon checking out but she had no comment.

The hotel is always clean and well maintained. The restaurants have met our dining needs every stay. 3 out of 4 trips I have went home with extra money. The views are very pretty. Staff is attentive and gets things done. This is our go to hotel in Reno.

I loved our stay at Boomtown, the staff was friendly and the bed was amazing. I only emphasize on the bed part because a lot of hotel beds are just way too uncomfortable. But the one at Boomtown was just right. I also loved the fact we could order food at Mel's Diner and have it delivered straight to our room! A++ stay, will definitely be staying here again in the future.

What a fun break on our drive from CA to WA to stay at the dog-friendly Best Western Plus Boomtown Casino Hotel! Dinner from Mel's Diner was delicious, even if they gave me the wrong to-go order. The casino was fun, even if they took all my money. And the dog-friendly room was awesome ---SO much better than the usual dog-friendly hotels! I stay at best westerns boomtown location quite often and enjoy almost everything about being there. People are friendly rooms are clean and almost everything I could need during my stay is located right in the hotel. I love being a little distance from city limits making it peaceful and not overly crowded. Always one of my favorite places to!

Hotel was clean and up to date. Staff was friendly and helpful. If you plan on staying here sign up for the players club. They have a Mel's Diner in the hotel. The food is good and the staff is friendly.

The hotel gives a trucker discount rate. The rooms are very clean, nice decor, all the amenities that a person needs for a great stay and various types of restaurants to eat at or room service. You can either stay in and relax or enjoy the casino atmosphere.

Easy access to hotel right off the Interstate 80. Hotel was clean and updated and our room was very quiet. Would be a fun stay for family with children. Parking was alittle rough but we had a very pleasant 3 day stay.

Request a room upgrade. The comp rooms are very small with no closet. Stand back when you flush the toilet. Bring an extra blanket as the heater noise will keep you awake all night. Check your tv remote as ours didn't work. Bring your own food or be prepared to drive into Reno. Get a room opposite I-80 freeway noise. Stay somewhere else!

Nice hotel. Not a lot of people like downtown Reno and they have a great area for kids. The dealers are helpful, wonderful if you want to learn how to play a table game. My only issue is that the beds are hard.

My stay there wasn't good the bed was lumpy and the bathroom was dirty with hair and ground and immediately when we walked in there was the smell of sewer. The receptionist gave us opened waters for our room the safety seal was broken so we didn't drink them because of unsanitary issues.

I was traveling home to California from Idaho and had to stay overnight due to weather conditions in Reno. Check in was easy and fast, considering I did not have prior reservations. All the precautions were being taken as far as Covid. The room was nice and clean, the personnel who answered the phone were courteous and helpful. Overall, I was pleased and will definitely stay there again in the future.

The accommodations are nice, along with staff. Not fancy, but clean and cozy. We stayed in the suite 2115, perfect for our Super Bowl get together with another couple. I will need to take a blanket for the cool winter nights on my next stay.

Made phone reservation on 01/28/21 was confirmed with the front desk. When I arrived was denied entry to park area by Boomtown security stating lot was full. I explained I had reservations was told it did not matter, I would not be allowed in and was told park along the freeway or at Cabela's and walk back. This was in the middle of a snow storm and I-80 road closure. Both freeway and Cabela's overnight parking is not allowed. I explained this to security and was told I don't care you are not coming in and parking here. I had to leave and make other room reservations in Reno. I'm a commercial truck driver and hours of service/time are critical and I was running low because of confirmed reservations here and now being turned back was even more critical. With the limited parking area available for commercial you would think Boomtown would limit and require only those in truck parking area to have confirmed reservations or be utilizing the diner or gaming area and not allow for overnight parking with drivers staying in their trucks or simply parking in lot to wait out the road closure/storm. Do not recommend using Boomtown as a commercial driver for layers - poorly managed.

This property is at a casino that offers great rewards, just for playing. I started staying here from a free night offer and now get 3 nights a month free. The rooms are big, clean and we'll stocked. The staff if generally friendly; there's a couple grumps working the front desk, but overall a nice, affordable place to stay. It's a few miles off the strip right off the interstate. Easy to get to and easy to get down to the strip.

First when we went to check in due to being snowed in the front desk was so rude . Then the room service lady tried entering our room at 9am , without announcing herself . Luckily we had it dead bolted . There was no where to eat after 9 . Also , took the bell hop 40 minutes before we were finally able to get our bags to leave . We sat outside his service desk . My husband had to go inside and finally a security guard let us get our bags from valet .

Clean, nice size room -- good size flat screen tv. Ask for a first floor room, only two people per elevator (during Covid - 19) can wait a while when hotel is crowded. Comfortable bed and nice shower -- we will stay here again.

I stay here every year for Thanksgiving with my family I have never had a problem other than bads smell and old furniture. But this year I could feel something on me the 1st night we stayed but I didn't wake up to check I was too tired but then the next night when I went to lay down there was a bed bug on my pillow and then throughout the night there were 4 more so I got up at 3 o'clock in the morning took a shower then got my kids up gave them showers and under my daughter's pillow there was a dead bed bug with its feet in the air so we left and I don't believe I will go back ever again

I have to admit that even during this pandemic Boomtown has done every precaution to make sure their guests and staff are safe. I know a lot of you say that we all should stay home. Which is probably true. But sometimes you have to get out and go somewhere. Even if its to spend 90 percent of your time in a nice clean room. It was worth the 4 hour drive.

The stay was nice. I had a 2.5 yr old and a 12 yr old with me. We were lucky enough to get snow. The facility was cleaned and everyone masked and maintained distance. The kids area was open and the staff was busy wiping down all the rides and games before and after the kids went on/used them. Its a nice comfortable atmosphere.

I have been going to Boomtown for years. I used have bus trip fundraisers for Cancer, Aid, & Research and we would stay the day at Boomtown. Now I just get my friends to come and stay, and play a few days. I love the atmosphere their, they treat you real good, and make you feel at home. It is more personal than the big resorts.

I rented a hotel room at Boomtown for my guests who were coming with their baby into town for a visit and specifically asked for adjoining rooms which I re-iterated upon checking in and was assured by the desk clerk that they were in fact adjoining-which upon going upstairs to the rooms they were not adjoining. The rooms were extremely cold and when the heat was turned on there was thick odor coming from ventilation system due to non use over the summer months forcing them to have to leave at 11:30 at night with the baby. When calling the desk to speak to clerk regarding the room assignments and non adjoining rooms, the Supervisor Haley was rude and insisted that this was discussed upon making reservation, which it absolutely was not discussed and her attitude was not friendly or helpful at all.

Boomtown is a wonderful place for a getaway. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The rooms are well insulated, at least I never heard anything from adjoining rooms, even though I saw people entering and exiting on either side. The beds are very comfortable and there are lots of pillows.

Our favorite destination for a relaxing weekend. Awesome rooms, amenities, staff, Promotions and comps are also awesome. All of the in-house restaurants are excellent but You MUST have a meal at the steakhouse. Boomtown is the best.

First I couldn't pay the deposit and Charge in cash. The staff was rude and they put me in a room that had been smoked in. Now I am being charged for the poor cleaning job smoke smell and a asthma attach. A 100 room is costing me $350 I will get my money back. The know the room was smoked in how many people are they going to charge? Rude staff smoked in rooms Drive back to Reno!

I came up for drinks with friends and had a great time. Albert and Daniel make great drinks and treated us well. I will be back. Casino did smell like cigarettes though I'm sure that could be solved easily.

We had fun at Boomtown, which is one of the first larger casinos one finds as one drives from California to Reno on I-80. There is slot area, dining, and a Best Western. This is an average casino in the area, but still fun. Be sure to sign up for the players club before playing in the casino.

Let's face it, this is a casino with all of the unattractive aspects of same. You have to walk through the smoky, noisy atmosphere of the casino whenever entering or leaving the hotel. We just wanted a hotel/no casino but that's hard to find in Reno. The staff at the registration desk were less than welcoming and never told us that there would be no housekeeping services due to the Corona Virus. We had noisy neighbors on each side of us. Would not choose this hotel again.

Good old fashion casino! The best staff, clean rooms, great restaurants, kid friendly, sanitized, great music playing, bands are good, housekeepers are great, fun and not to crowded. Overall, hot hot hot hot. Love the place!

I was approached by a blonde lady telling me I had to have a cloth mask other than my face shield like I was being picked on . They have shield up in front of the bar also which means I'm over six feet away from them . I put on my make under me shield . I ask the Bart bender just a question on why it's mandatory as I work for a much bigger casino and I can wear a face shield for my shift . He's extremely rude he unplugs my phone and tells me to go away . I pay for my drink which I didn't even drink I slid it up to the bar . I ask for a receipt so I can still tip the rude bartender because I also work for tips wasn't given a pen . I'm approached by the blonde lady and security . I tell her why security I put the mask on right in front of you . She says because it's under my nose under my shield which it fell down because I'm extremely small a size double zero so I have a child's face . I explain that to her . I was treated rudely even after I put a make on because I asked a question and refused to say where I worked to the bar tender . It's nit their business nor mine to disclose where I work . This bartender needs a lesson in customer service I've been a cocktail waitress for 8 years !

We had a wonderful visit except for the TV. We don't like to make a fuss so didn't complain the first day. The second day we did let the desk know we couldn't watch TV - it was only static. We were told to go to a certain channel. We were finally able to get a total of 3 channels - news, weather and ION (old Special Unit Victims - not a favorite of ours). I hate to complain about a minor thing like TV but think it is really kind of important. Not everyone reads books, etc.

We booked two rooms for our one night stay while we were driving to Reno, and we were excited to see what Boomtown had to offer. We attempted to check in early and our front desk agent named SEMI greeted us and said she'd do her best to get our two rooms close if not adjoining since we had kids (16,9) with us. We were told to wait for more check outs so she could try to accommodate our request. I could tell from her body language she was unwelcoming and already irritated. We went to eat lunch and wait a while as the bell hop held our stuff in a storage room. After a while my husband checked back with Semi, and my 9 year old daughter was with him at the counter. He waved for me to come handle the rest of the transaction and as I approached the counter, Semi was telling my daughter to not eat (her bag of chips from lunch due to Covid) as I was looking over paperwork to sign Semi became visibly upset and said, “ew now she's licking her fingers, disgusting!” And she told my daughter to use sanitizer. I quickly told my daughter to go sit down after she sanitized her hands. I understand in these unprecedented times we need to be careful but telling a child she is disgusting is not ok, especially in a customer service setting. I ignored her comment and finished check in as we were all tired and ready to get to our rooms. We found the first room in one tower and the other we could not locate. Semi told us she put us right next to eachother with an elevator separating rooms. She lied. The other room turned out to be on the opposite side of the hotel, having to walk clear across the casino to access. We went back to front desk and asked for a manager. Another woman came out and said there was nothing they could do about the rooms and she denied that Semi said what she said, even though we had three witnesses. We told her we were no longer interested in staying since rooms were so far snd the horrible customer service and she said she's have to call security for us to make a complaint but she would not give us our money back although we never even touched the rooms! Security came and they asked her to finally refund our money. Two hours or so later we were out of there and WILL NEVER be back! Get some quality customer service!!!

I just stopped in for a drink with my friends. An old blond hair woman started yelling at us from behind the bar to put on our masks as we were putting our masks on. She then very rudely told us to go away and wait for a cocktail waitress for service. We went to the bar in the middle and bartender came around the side of the bar with our drinks no issues there. Just avoid the mean lady.

The stay was relaxing and staff was extremely friendly and i had loads of fun in the game room. We stayed in one of the east tower suites which was large and very comfortable. The bed was comfortable. Everything was only 5 minutes from anywhere in the hotel.

We stayed in the 2 bedroom 2 bath suite. The tub was incredible. It had three doors that led to the patio. My family was so excited to celebrate our birthday party in this room. We had dinner at the steakhouse and the service and food were incredible.

We booked the KOA Motorhome park next to you so that we could gamble there and use the arcade and Resturant. Some stayed in the Motorhome and some in the room. We stayed the next couple nights in Truckee and would have come back to gamble, and play in arcades and eat if the experience was better. I feel that I wasted my money there. Sad but True. Restaurant service and food was awful.

We stayed at this hotel for a short trip to visit our son and the nearby University of Nevada, Reno. Less then 10 minutes away. While they did not have the buffet open, the steakhouse and Mel's Diner was - so there were food choices. Did see a guard on the casino floor tell someone they needed to put their mask up between puffs of their cigarette while gambling! that was a little carried away. And this hotel offers choices in rooms - smoking and non smoking with separation between so that was a big plus. We will be traveling up here a lot the next 4 years - want to have a place our whole group can stay at. Easy internet, but did need to log on again in the morning - it kicked me off. Room are spacious and have windows that open - another lost feature with many new hotels. And Cabelas is next door - a must stop when in Reno. Not a bad choice when in Reno, they have something for everyone.

I was so excited to bring my family here for my daughters birthday as we used to come here as kids. Well first it started with saying check in was at 4. We arrived at 5pm and our room.was still not even ready. We had to wait almost another hour. Then by that night our whole room smelt like weed. Mind you my husband and I do NOT smoke anything, which is fine for those who do, but this is suppose to also be a family hotel room hint the fun center down stairs. They should do different floors for smoking. Anyways my daughter is 2 and her nephew who's with us 13. Anyways we over looked it the first night. The 2nd night it was so bad, i think it may have been getting me high ( JOKE). So I called down too see if they even permitted smoking they said yes why, I mentioned how bad it smelt like weed the lady said, oh weed no not in rooms, but it is legal so nothing we can do. Ill TRY, and send a security guard up to see if they can figure out room and ask the guest to please not smoke in the room. Well obviously that didn't happen. Im thinking 200$ + a night and I cant even have a safe place for my family. But of course no refunds we decided to stay out the rest of our vacation as were only going to be here 1 more night after this night. Next day we get up go do my daughters birthday party come back to the room, their are ants all in the beds, we call down and are.told well the maids can't go in the room and so nothing was changed out. We didn't have new towels in 3 days new sheets in 3 days now i have frekin ants. So were trying to make due on couches and shaking out the beds the best we can but ants were crawling on us all night. Isn't their a pandemic they are suppose to deep clean these rooms yet there are ants. I will NEVER spend this kind of momey again it was not worth it. And this was our family.vacation this year so im.very disappointed. I just i can't believe it. I suggest finding another hotel room just saying.

You are absolutely correct, we have a dedicated smoking floor for the guests who prefers a smoking room. The room you have stayed in is located on a non-smoking floor. We have a very strict policy for smoking in non-smoking rooms and charge a $150 penalty for violating the policy. I apologize for not taking care of that issue immediately. I am sorry to hear about the ants in your room, I understand how frustrating it was to find ants after the issue with the smoke coming from another room. We are working very closely with our Pest control company every summer and trying to stay proactive. We are spraying outside the building and inside the rooms weekly to avoid ants, as it is a very common summertime issue for properties in Northern Nevada. Some amenity's suspended due to Virus. Any requests were responded to very quickly. Restaurant were very accommodating even with limited seating and no reservation. Also the steak and seafood were excellent. proportion vs price was fair.

Room had nice soft bed. Check in was short handed. Some of security was overly rude to drinking patrons with mask not up all the way up. was a bit warm inside.otherwise the machines were pleasantly loose and waitresses were on the money. thanks

I really love boomtown casino and hotel Staff is always very nice rooms are clean also has microwave and fridge.i also like that my refundable deposit is always back into my account within 6 hours of checking out.if also pet friendly and has a nice area for pets.i would rate overall a 10.

a nice place to stay. we were upgraded to a huge suite and enjoyed the room -- great balcony. A well laid out casino -- lots of keno and video poker -- a nice variety of new machines -- never had to wait very long for drink service

We always enjoy our stays at Boomtown, though we usually leave our money in the machines. It is a nice little getaway for us.a few times a year. The pandemic made our visit a bit difficult, but we dealt with the restrictions and enjoyed ourselves.

Helpful,wonderful people. With all this corona stuff going on these people couldn't do enough for us. I would stay there all the time if I could. They made our anniversary a wonderful experience and I would recommend them to everyone. I never give an excellent rating but they deserve it.

Although Covid made some services hard on everybody, this was a pleasant place to stay. The person who took our reservations was super nice. The drink service was good and the gambling was okay. The pool was also nice!

David, the manager there is RUDE!!! He assigned us the wrong room we booked and not willing to exchange because we check in late, and we booked through Priceline. He told me his full name, and he said he is the manager there, no one can't do anything with him, If I want to get help, call Priceline myself.

Room carpet had stains all over. When arriving to room door was open. Bathroom had tub stopper pulled out but had hair still in drain. Seemed like they weren't finished with room but let us go in. Maybe management should check before allowing guests to enter.

Our room was beautiful. We were there on a special Birthday promotion that no one in check in could figure out so it took forever. Rooms are not tidied up due to pandemic but we were not told that you need to request service.

Boomtown was great. The room was nice and clean and cozy, bathroom was really nice and spacious and big. The only problem I had with this hotel stay was that the hot water had to be shut off including all water and water pressure, leaving my wife and I without showering before we left the hotel,It was very annoying but overall the place was Great!

Hotel and casino was very nice and clean great staff.fun center was nice some of the staff need to be retrained they are kinda snobby.they just throw the prizes up on counter ask for a bag I was told don't they have pockets that's not the point but o really it was a pretty good stay

Great location. All in one site. Clean and friendly staff. Drink service was prompt. Huge arcade for kids. Several food choices at decent prices. Played in the slot tourney and won free play! Loved my stay.

We travelling through the area and this hotel was close to the road just outside of Reno. We weren't interested in the casino but did eat at the buffet for supper. The room was a good price for a very nice room. However the hotel did bill us separately for the Hotel Resort Fee. I know it is shown in fine print when you price it out but I think it should just be included in the total posted cost that you pay up front. It's a shame that casino's allow smoking because that smell permeates the non smoking room we were in on the ground floor.

We periodically stay at this hotel/casino. We like to dabble in gambing, so this is nice. I requested the top floor (as high as I could get without being a non-smoking room). The room is simple, but nice. Pretty good view. The only surprise was in the first part of March to wake up to snow. The plus we had with this hotel check in, was Gracie. Quite a plus for this Best Western.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were very clean. Check-in and out was easy. It's close to shopping. The casino staff was very friendly and helpful. Although the internet service could be improved, it worked most of the time.

Best Western Plus Boomtown Casino Hotel is currently advertising for Housekeeping Employees, offering about $13-$16 per hour. Our latest stay, in early January, was for three nights and on the second day there was "patchy" Room Cleaning on the fifth floor of the North Tower. Multiple Rooms were Not Cleaned or resupplied with Towels, etc.; ours was one of them. We had been gone for the afternoon and had to ask for Towels upon our arrival in the evening (No, we didn't leave a Do Not Disturb Sign on the Door). To their credit, Housekeeping sent a young man with the Towels who arrived promptly and brought Coffee Packets and Coffee Cups as well. One additional short coming this Visit: the Reading Lights next to each side of the Bed had been fitted with the equivelent of 125 Lumen Bulbs that were grossly inadequate for Reading in bed. I replaced those Bulbs with 1100 Lumen LED bulbs from Home Depot, near the Mc Carran exit off of Highway 80, about six miles East of Boomtown. I will add these bulbs to the supplies to bring with us for future visits to Boomtown in case the Hotel doesn't decide to upgrade the lighting.

I called after we left the casino and was talking with my best friend and brother as we were driving home, Told them of what happened at the sports book. My best friend told me of his run in with the incredibly rude gentleman at the sports book named Don and we drive up from Granite Bay and place bets at this casino almost every week, My best friend went on to say that when he walk up to Don and said i hope i didn't mess any of these up and Don's very rude response well its not ROCKET Science. Are you kidding me that's a very demeaning response.Mine was a little different and this place was dead nobody in line or even close by. I asked a few questions and he told me to looked at the back of the card it will tell you everything its all in print. Very rude, I have owned and ran my company for over 25 years and if any of my people treated anyone like this they would be fired on the spot. Being disrespectful in customer service is wrong on many levels. If this guy had a huge line behind me i would think a little different yet still not someone that 99 % of business owners would put up with. Still not a phone call back from the casino manager 48 hours plus later, Very much a disappointment. They have my call back number. Will call in the morning again and see if i get a response. Will return only to collect on wining tickets. Final note i told Don in a very kind way that when i travel to other countries that hate AMERICANS they treat me way better he did and he just laugh. The rooms were comfortable and clean. We appreciated the microwave, frig and in-room safe. The casino was a little warm, so dress accordingly. Most of the staff was pleasant and helpful. We enjoyed our first stay very much and will go back again.

We stayed in the North Tower. The room was fine, although the bathroom amenities were probably the smallest I have ever seen and there were a couple of days the cleaners didn't come. One time, I noticed they hadn't wiped down the counter in front of the microwave as there were still a few crumbs there. There was one noisy neighbor we had, but otherwise the noise level was on the low side, even on New Years' Eve. The beds were comfy. The air conditioning/fan unit is a little dated. Our room wasn't too smoky, but there was a slight odor. The biggest problem I have with this hotel is that the main parking lot is really far from the rooms and you have to walk through the entire casino floor to get to the hotel elevators. There is a closer overflow parking lot with a tunnel entrance, but you can only access this parking lot if you are traveling westbound on I-70 and exit basically into it. So, if you are coming from the California side or even from Cabela's it is pretty much impossible to park there. The casino was, like most older casinos, terribly smoky. The food choices were okay. Over the course of the week, we dined at every one of the locations. Mel's Diner is tasty and hot with good sized portions, but a little pricey for dive food. Peet's Coffee didn't really have a large selection of breakfast items - mostly croissants. The lobster buffet didn't really have a large variety of choices and the prime rib was almost rare. The Steakhouse was good, although they messed up my order (put the wrong sauce topping on top) initially. The pool was a little chilly, but clean. The Fun Center was crowded during our New Years stay.

We were pleasantly surprised at the quality and amenities offered. Three restaurants to choose from. All services were friendly, courteous, expeditious. As nonsmokers, the hotel was impeccable. However, the casino was a little smokey, but not as bad as we thought it could be. Casino has good air filters. All restaurants were smoke free. We would recommend to family and friends. They even have a "kids" fun area (smoke free) with an old fashioned carousel

all family was treated very well. all rooms satisfied every one. all food was good . Host Tom was great. guess i don't know what else you want from me but i will rattle on about something . like we have been visiting Boomtown at least twice a year for the last 15 years or more and it is always with family. evidently we have been having a good time or we wouldn't return

There are not enough characters to tell the tale of our woe. My wife bide on a fundraising package and paid for the promotional package. We had a terrible time making reservations-it took 5 calls, and a week to secure a room. We upgraded to a suite. That room, was located next to two industrial exhausts units that filled it with kitchen and casino fumes. We were moved to a room in which the bathroom ceiling was leaking water into the light, and looked as if it might give way any time. When we check out early, we were refunded our upgrade costs for the suite. The money we spent on the promotion was for naught. I would not recommend this hotel/casio to anyone, not because I am a snob. The place is toxic. Beware!

Everything was awesome. To my surprise they offered free Bell hop and Valet service :) As a disabled person...I completely loved these features as we were on the 6th floor and way in the back.. North Tower. Everyone was friendly. Check in was quick. Check out was done in our room. Bell hop was a call away. Bed was comfy and huge :) Couldn't say enough about this wonderful hotel and their services.

Will never stay at this God forsaken place ever again! Do not waste your money or time here. Food is terrible and customer service is terrible. Mel's Diner serves old food and maids don't clean the rooms.

Did not meet Best Western standards. Breakfast not included. No complimentary coffee other than the little pot in the room. Smallest room we have ever had at a Best Western. Bed was not as comfortable as most we have experienced. Room was clean and check in staff was friendly.

Pillows are awful. Receptionist gave me a hard to me for late 11:50 am check out. Wanted to charge extra $15.00. I believe point holders are have the rights for an early check in , late check out. Best western need to train their employees.

The Boomtown has a nice clean environment. Theres plenty food options and accomidates families or business travelers. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and the casino has a great variety of games.

I have stayed in Boomtown many times and always enjoy myself. I think of it as the Cheers hotel/casino because everyone is so friendly. I like to stay in the North tower which is a bit more updated than South, but both are comfortable and clean. The casino is small but has pretty much any slot machine you could want. 2-3 BJ tables and a few other table games. The poker room is small, and not open every day so check their website. For food, Mel's diner is your best choice. And the steakhouse is pretty good for a higher end restaurant. The highly advertised lobster buffet is horrible. Very rubbery, tasteless lobster at a ridiculous price for what you get. I had free coupons for the buffet and will not do that again. The location, I think, is great...... about 15 - 30 minutes from downtown and several nice resorts...... but away from the traffic and noise.

My whole stay was met withy Very friendly people and helpful too. This made my whole trip and stay worth it. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable clean please to stay. They had things to do I didn't take advantage of, but even just to relax.

They block customers from using TV options, like HDMI inputs for computer and gaming systems. They Boomtown are all about trying to get you to the casino, well that always isn't an option for families and for business when the option is a necessity. Also, the reason I was told is that we don't order out TV's that way. No other BW property I have stayed in does them, a very selfish attitude by management.

The hotel/casino is about 10 miles from Reno's downtown and 6 miles on the interstate from the nearest grocery store (and other conveniences). That's fine as it's what I expected but if you are hoping to see more of Reno itself it isn't great. I did not try the restaurants on site and spent very little time in the casino, except for walking through it to get to my hotel's elevator. The rooms were clean and quiet and there was no hint of the smoke that was in the casino itself. Like other casinos in Reno, there is a resort fee on top of the listed hotel price so it isn't the cheapest place to stay. There is plenty of free parking, though (which is one reason I chose it despite the location) and the staff is friendly and helpful.

Had a good time for a quick family gathering. We had our 7 year old son with us. He had plenty to do. I was a little disappointed to hear that the motion detector ride had shut down back in 2014. I thought that was one of the funnest rides there. Our room was clean, bed was so uncomfortable. The pillows were miserable if you belly sleep.

Hotel/Casino was clean but definitely smelled like stale cigarettes. Beds were extremely hard and we did not sleep well tossing and turning all night. If you want peace and quiet, don't get a pool room view. The indoor pool area has terrible acoustics and you can year kids and adults yelling and splashing from 9:00am up to pool closing at 9:00pm. Also though the food was overpriced.

We love going to Boomtown for a quick get away it nice a and fun and not very fare. There rooms are nice for a couple if you stay in the North Tower since most of the kids stay in the other tower as that is where the pool is. They have a nice Buffet and Steak house, plus the are close the Reno if you want to go.

Paid $15.00 additional dollars at online for reservation and could not find an explanation. Access to fitness center and pool and two 8 ounce water bottles and access to casino were included I discovered. Public access to casino is free. Advertised valet parking. Parked at valet door. Attendant was focused on electronics and never moved. Beds were great. Casino smelled like really old casino. Entrances were full of wind blown litter. Chose another Best Western the next night.

We received a promotion coupon, which was nice. This is a casino and I requested a non smoking room which the honored. Very nice room. The lady that checked us in was great. Housekeeping was really good. Unfortunately the lady that checked us out, she needs to be in the back office, behind doors and no access to the public. (Very rude and snappy) But, my main reason for our stay was great.

Room equipment not in working order, wifi would not connect. I requested an additional person added to the room at check in, was told she was added. Then she tried to purchase something at the gift shop and could not charge to the room as they did not add her.

Family friendly. Good food in Mels Diner. Fun center a fun place for kids. Lots of different gambling venues. Buffet wasn't open in the mornings. Swimming pool was kid friendly. Easy access off of I-80

Excellent stay. Clean and comfortable. Coming from California it was a surprise that they had rooms that you could smoke in. Didn't have kids with me on this trip, but it was good to have the option. High cost of food and low winning odds. Not worth the hype. There is nowhere else to go when you are this far out of town. The games do not pay. They drag money out of you in their restaurants and low paying games.

The hotel is excellent, the staff great. I get a monthly newsletter that give me two free nights, and I always take my friends who visit me there (I live in Santa Cruz), pretty drive and gambling.. Usually i win. But they have interesting deals for my new people, and the slots seem far.

The check in was very quick, the staff was very friendly. Room was very clean with ample plug ins. Restaurant food and staff were very good. Coffee shop had lots of food and coffee choices. Customer service throughout was wonderful. I'd recommend staying at the Boomtown Best Western.

Hotel was clean and comfortable. Close to Cabela's, and a quick UBER drive to downtown Reno which was what brought us there. The Staff was friendly. Buffet was meh. Wish we would have tried the steakhouse. Other than that, It was an enjoyable time.

They are consistent with their rooms. Always clean and we'll made. Only bad thing was when walking up the hallway it smells like marijuana being smoked. Gambling was good and Boomtown always has organized promotional games going. Guitar bar is always good.

We stayed here for 5 nights, as this was a reunion destination. Check-in was very easy as was Check-out. We were in Room 4021, which overlooked the intersection and the gas station. It did afford a great view of the mountains though. Room was clean and large with a good-sized bathroom. All equipment in the room worked well. Staff members were all very cordial and helpful, especially the housekeeping staff. As we were here for 5 nights I requested extra coffee and other amenities from the staff upon arrival and the request as filled each day. Overall not a bad place to stay, just a short drive into Reno. Only thing I would change...they need central heating/air conditioning and get rid of the window units.

The trip from hell started at check in. When the reservation was made we requested a room in the north tower. Checking in we were told since it was prepaid we just get what is available at check in. Then I was given two room keys for room 242. So I take my luggage and try to find 242. But there is no room 242, so I find 3242 of course the keys don't work. Back down to the desk , I tell her the keys don't work and she puts them in the encoder again and as she puts them in the sleeve she writes a 1 after the first 2. So the room I should have been sent too was 2142. No apology no explanation. I'm so glad it was only for 2 night. I will never ever step foot in this place ever again!

Had a great time! Great room and great choice of places to eat right at the hotel. Mel's Diner is a great choice to eat with a great menu choice and great prices and open 24 hours, can't beat that. Wonderful buffet for Thursday or Friday for Prime rib at just 9.99, great value. A short trip to run in to Reno for a change in pace if wanted. Overall a wonderful stay.

The hotel and room were very nice and clean, I would recommend using the valet service, the young men were very friendly but the first one was brand new and didn't know much about the hotel when I asked questions. The front desk staff seemed stressed, disgruntled or bored. Neither one smiled at check in. At check out it took a bit longer to check out, neither front desk clerks acknowledged me standing there, the girl looked up a couple of times but no one said anything.

We have never been treated so badly at a restaurant than we were at Mel's. I ordered oatmeal. I was given a teaspoon full of brown sugar mostly raisins. I am allergic to raisins. When I asked for just plain oatmeal I was told to just pick them out. I asked for something else and waited 45 minutes for it to come out. There was only two other tables of customers in Mel's at that time. Sad thing is this is the only sit down restaurant at Boom town for breakfast. Next time we will drive down the road for breakfast or bring our own.

This BW is a relatively new. They are what we expect from BW. Stay was very enjoyable. Beds were comfortable, staff was friendly and accommodating. The only complaint is that there was no breakfast offered. We were given a coupon for a steak and egg breakfast at an adjoining restaurant.

Horrible customer service and even worse marketing department. Won a free 2 night stay at a raffle and certificate gave a number to call which no one on the other end of the line wants to help and marketing never answers the phone or returns phone calls. The suites are NOT worth the money. Small bathrooms, huge bar with NO fridge. The casino is VERY smokey. There was amenities to keep your kids busy, the gambling was very tight. Their free card spins had good prizes. The buffet had a variety of food but what I had wasn't very good so I didn't have any more being afraid it was all bad tasting!!

This hotel and casino combo is ok for visitors looking for an average, quieter stay in Reno. Do not expect the glitz and glamour of the larger casinos downtown. The rooms were clean and well maintained, but the casino area seemed dark. Also, be careful of the opening and closing times of restaurants and the fun zone for kids. The main part of the fun zone did not open until 11 a.m. when we were there. Okay if you are looking for a modest stay out of the way.

Wednesday morning I awoke with the desire to get out the the house, I checked with my Best Western App, plenty of rooms were available at BoomTowm, I always get a mailer with an offer for two free nights so I thought I would go up and enjoy a couple nights play some bingo and have a good time, I am a Best Western Diamond Select member and am extremely accustomed to unbelievable service . I went and got everyone chocolates (about 5 boxes of merci, toblerone, godiva, lindt truffels etc.) I walk into the hotel area and when I hand the hotel clerk the mailer she informs me that the last room was just sold out, she taps a little bit and it just seemed like she was not really looking, I showed her my Diamond Select status, it didn't matter, no room, no means no. Didn't even get the chance to give them my bag of chocolate. My good friend called the hotel about 10 minutes later and they told him rooms were available. I should have probably asked to speak with a manger or Spike the VIP host to help me out but you know what? I'm not the person who is going to deal with this kind of stuff and or make a scene, if they don't my business then they don't need it, plain and simple. I drove all the way from Galt CA to stay two nights becasue I was given then in a mailer for "free" it was not a blackout date, the casino was not full, the hotel was not full, the App said rooms were available, and when my friend called rooms were available, something wasn't right, but truth be told, I like to go where I feel welcome.

Too much of a hassle to park, LONG wait to even talk to someone in valet and bellhop service as no one was available so we just parked and took our luggage to our room ourself. Again you have to make a longer trek to check in and again an extremely very long trek to your actual room. The whole place requires a whole new update as it appears old and run down. Front hotel staff appeared less concerned about you and whether you stayed or not; made us feel like were annoying them more than anything. Our first time here and our LAST time. Will not recommend to anyone.

Came down with “Reno Belly” on our second day and were stuck in our room for two more days. Staff was great but there are no hand sanitizers anywhere on site unlike other hotels/casinos. Our doctor believes this caused the spread of illness. Won't stay here again. Will stay in Reno proper.

I really had an awesome stay! I had the grand suite! I had a casino host Tom. Awesome host! I even got called to spin the prize is right wheel twice! I never get called! Staff was great! I will definitely be returning!!! My grandson went swimming and plaed in the arcade with his mommy! It s even great for the children!

"Lobster Sunday" was a poor showing for all the advertising that got us to attend and pay for it. Frankly, I believe the lobsters were cooked three times; they were tough and way overcooked. As for the general lounge areas, the manic smoking by other customers right next to us and all around us made being in the areas quite undesirable. We know that we are in the minority here. Also, the video black jack machines are set differently from other casinos; for example, no double downs allowed, and that makes us feel like someone is trying to scam us. This is one of the reasons we did not gamble as much.

The hotel and rooms are outdated can use a fresh coat of paint. Got into the room the air conditioner was on and making a noise that sounding like something was in, there I shut it off and kept it off. The pool was down for repairs but didn't know it until I put on my trunks went down there and saw the sign on the door if I was traveling with kids I would have been pretty mad not saying anything about the pool being closed. I was supposed to stay two nights but cancelled my last night and chose to stay in Truckee instead.

Take advantage of the players club here so you can get promos with discount room prices during the week. Stayed on a Sunday with the room promo of $45 before resort fees and taxes. Stayed in the north tower. South tower has the indoor pool so you have to walk over to swim if you are not located over there. Another pool and spa is located outside by the koa rv campgrounds. Ate at Mel's diner and took advantage of breakfast specials in the morning. No breakfast here like other best western hotels due to it being a casino. Fridges are small so don't bring too much food to leave in it. Good value overall.

We have been here multiple times and we always had a good experience. On our last stay here, my Dad had a separate booking and when we checked him in we were told that he had a suite and it was not ready. We were asked to come back. The person who did the check in called another agent and told her that my Dad had a suite and "if it was ok". The other agent said, "yes it should be fine, there is nothing we can do". This conversation happened in front of me and my Dad. When we came back to check in, he was downgraded to a room with a balcony - checked in by a different person. I feel we were treated very unprofessionally by the staff. Like a mentioned we have been here multiple times and never experienced any issues. Other than this, everything was great.

Staybwas awesome. Room was comfy. Bed was extremely relaxing and easy to fall asleep in. The front desk staff were courteous and able to assist with all questions and concerns in a professional and excited manner.

No downtown drama but close enough to visit the other casinos if you want. Clean, quiet and easy access to parking. Live music, Mel's Diner, good machines for slot play, access to gas, car wash and food. A great option if you want a casino stay over without the hassle.

I have stayed at Boomtown many times and think of it as the "Cheers" hotel/casino where "everybody knows your name" The hotel is large with very nice, comfortable rooms. The Casino is smaller but the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Boomtown is located about 8 miles from downtown Reno, so you avoid a lot of the crowds and traffic.. But they have pretty much everything you could want from a good variety of restaurants to pool and exercise room to casino. Although the casino is a bit small compared to other hotels in Reno. Poker room with 1-2 tables, About 12 gaming tables, and lots of slots. Atmosphere is really friendly.

The ground level suite we got was very nice and spacious. The Mountain View advertised was more of a gas station view. The once bustling town of Reno is now down to a trickle during the week and most of the advertised amenities such as the buffet and steakhouse were closed on Monday, which was the day we stayed there. The positive aspect was there was no wait for a seat at the blackjack tables. The fact that they are pet friendly and allowed us to have our small dog in our room was nice.

Upon arrival we were met with a rude valet, but he appeared tired, so I'll give him that. At check in were told that we couldn't have a small pet dog in the room we booked, so they placed us somewhere else. There was no accessible area to take out our pet, so their room choice boggled my mind. The room was sub-par and had a significant ant problem by our second night. After waiting five minutes trying to reach the front desk, were moved to an even less accessible room (mind you I was traveling with a senior citizen and a pet). The hallways smelled similar to a fish market, so if you're into that. Upside, two free drink tickets were included with the key packet.

We are very sorry there was confusion with our pet policy and accessible pet area. Our pet area is located near the first floor of our North Tower. We appreciate your feedback and hope you reconsider us for another visit.

We stayed three nights during the Reno Rodeo, so the place was pretty busy. We also were there the night the fire alarm was pulled at 3:20am. I called the front desk to see if it was a false alarm and about 15 minutes later someone answered and explained it was a false alarm. However, the alarm was not shut off until after 4:00 am. We stayed in our room, however, our son, with this two boys were in another tower and evacuated into the cold night (it was in the 30s outside). The youngest didn't have his shoes. After 20 minutes of waiting in a cold parking lot with no instructions from staff, they went just inside the the casino doors to get out of the cold. A security guard yelled at my son to get the boy out of the casino because he was barefoot. At first our son thought it was joke but the guy was serious. Obviously, the entire staff needs additional training in what to do in case of an emergency. We lived in Las Vegas for decades and lived through the MGM fire in the 1980s and the 1 Oct shooting in 2017. Staff HAS to be trained to handle emergencies and we did not see any evidence of proper training. The other two nights we were there were uneventful. The rooms are okay. Bed was reasonably comfortable. We did not understand how this became a Best Western Plus though. The amenities that one usually receives at a BWP (free breakfast, upgraded beds) were not evident. I have to give a shout out to the housekeeping staff though. When the fire alarm went off, it shut off the water. When the water came back on it was brown and we had to run it for quite a while before it was clear. The housekeeping staff cleaned our bathtub and sink spotless the next day. They also delivered extra towels promptly when asked. I would stay here again in a pinch, but wouldn't purposely choose this property again.

Horrible experience with the fire alarm going off at 3:30am for over an hour. No visible hotel staff or security presence to assist with evacuation, no information on whether it was a false alarm or not. No acknowledgement or apology for inconvenience of the chaos that ensued. Hotel staff did not take any responsibility for it. I've stayed at many Best Westerns with rave reviews, however this hotel is a disgrace to the brand. In addition to the fire alarm debacle, HVAC system is loud and outdated, wouldn't stay on even though option was selected. Shower water was warm, not hot, no fan in the bathroom and extremely thin walls - could hear normal conversations of the neighbors let alone all other noises.

We love Boomtown and always stay here on our way home from Yellowstone. The rooms are nice and clean, the bed comfortable, the bathroom large, and great amenities. The only problem we've ever had was this recent stay, as someone thought it would be funny to break the glass and activate the fire alarm causing a hotel evacuation at 3:40 in the morning. Many of us were scared and cold, waiting in the parking lot for nearly an hour before being allowed back into our rooms. This will not deter us from staying in this hotel again, as all other stays have been comfortable and enjoyable.

Had a fun two days. Steakhouse and Mel's Diner are great places to eat. I would highly recommend staying here. It is clean and very comfortable. Check-in and check-out is quick and easy. Love that you're only an elevator ride to the casino.

Boomtown is always a great place to stay. Our room was clean and comfortable. We get a suit so everyone has room and space. We spend most our time in the pool relaxing. The pool is always clean. The beds are very comfy and lots of channels to watch.

We were able to get away for a quick visit to Boomtown and we stayed at the Best Western Hotel there. It was very convenient, clean, and comfortable. The staff were very pleasant. There was a nice pool that we could have used and I believe I even saw a gym.

Got sick at Mels Diner.Ordered Halibut from the steakhouse it smelled and was rubbery.The room AC was loud and damp.The tiolet would not stop running.The hallways near the convention center smelled of molg.The only plus was I won in the casino.

Don't do it, dirty rooms, bad lighting, cigarette smoke everywhere, staff that just don't care. I suggest they change their motto to: This would be a great business if it weren't for these pesky customers'!

beautiful rooms, great location close to Lake Tahoe & Reno close to on and off ramps to I80. Had a problem with internet service which could have been settings on my computer but the staff didn't seem to know much about their internet service.

I'll stick to the hotel portion. Very, very comfortable rooms with all the amenities. Only real drawback is that there is no freezer and the refrigerator has a time that has to be reset after 2 hours. There are many facades to the outside of this property because of its touristy aspect. Hotel parking is limited but there is plenty for the casino so you may have to walk a bit. Ask for a room in the 30's or you may have to walk a 1/4 mile from the elevator.

My wife and I have stayed here every year for the past 910) years for the annual Street Vibrations motorcycle rally in Reno. We like to be close to Reno but get a break from the noise and crowds when we want a break. We come up and stay for several days. Everyone at the hotel and casino are very warm and welcoming to us. They accommodate areas to park your motorcycles that give them a little more security. Rates are very reasonable and if you join their player's club you gte some good discounts on room rates and other "freebies".

Fun Fun Fun. We love staying at this hotel. Rooms are always clean, casino is roomy and ean also. Food is excellent wirh a huge variety at the buffet, but you cant beat Mel's Diner for burgers. Wod reccommend to anyone.

We requested a upper level, no smoking. They filled our request. Unfortunately we couldn't get the heat below 75. So, called the front desk. Oh, no we didn't. The phone didn't work. So, let's go downstairs and talk to the front desk. Well, the stairs were available as the elevator wasn't. So, they gave us another room. Move everything and it was better by 1 degree. Couldn't get it to go below 74. So, one more call and we moved to a different tower. It was great. Air conditioner was nice. So, once moved (3rd attempt) we were happy. With the issues the staff was awesome. Friendly and very apologetic. So, even with this issues, I will return.

The rooms were clean and the bed was very comfortable. It was nice to have a refrigerator, microwave & safe in the room. There were a variety of slots and table games & keno. Mel's inside the hotel that's open 24hrs makes it very convenient to grab something to eat when hungry. Most of the staff was friendly, except for the bartender that was a little grumpy. But all in all, enjoyed my stay and will definitely visit again.

I have been coming to Reno for many years. I have started staying almost exclusively at Boomtown. The hospitality of the Hotel staff is amazing. The casino staff is great as well. Plus the music they have is so good!! And if you wind up bringing the kids, they have a great Kids area. Good time for all

I love staying at Boomtown because it's a small relaxing place. They are very friendly and caring. They are very helpful and asking a question they make you feel and explain it to your understanding. Always inviting to play free games ; bi g at the bar and the tournament

As a regular visitor to the area, Boomtown has always been accommodating with friendly service and long time staff who make the visit personable and pleasant. cocktail service from Kim and Renea always ALWAYS FRIENDLY AND ALWAYS REMEMBER ME. These ladies deserve a bonus!

We didn't come for the adjoining casino but only for the location. We won't stay here again. From the valet spot to checkin is a long walk followed by a long walk to the entrance from the parking lot and then a long walk past the conference rooms and then a long walk down the hallway to your room. (We parked at the valet spot but after a wait we just parked and hauled our baggage in ourselves.) Our view was of the roof over the conference rooms. Door to the room next door was not a tight fit so we could hear the conversations going on there as if they were just in our bathroom. Small room was jam-packed with furniture. Pool was on the opposite side of the building past the conference rooms and casino. Not a thrilling stay for $107.

Food was great no doubt, but the service was outstanding. We had Donna who took care of us and was a delight. We will be back, good service like that is rare these days. Good job Donna Good job Boomtown!

Had a nice stay at boomtown, did okay on the slots, free drinks while playing slots, very helpful front desk staff, a few miles (12) from downtown Reno, limited services on site (shopping) over all very nice hotel, and only took 8000 points for a comped night

This is our go-to place in Reno. Far enough away from all the insanity in town, beautiful rooms, great restaurant (Mel's) and really good service. Special shout out to Valets who were exceptionally helpful in getting me settled.

From the call to make reservation to check out everything was excellent, all the people I employ the rooms were very clean beds comfortable the price was exceptionally great for a Friday night in Reno can't beat the price, food was good a mel dinner even the slot machines were generous will be back real soon

My experience with Best western plus boomtown casino hotel is a 5 star. My check in and check out was fast. The ataff was very polite and told me about the self checkout. The hotel room was very clean. I will be coming back.

Hotel rooms are very clean and comfortable, love the pillows. Casino was very nice with good live music playing. The play room was a blast. Its a fun family place to stay with active children , Very enjoyable

Our stay was amazing, there was something for everyone to do! Had a fun center for kids gambling for adults great restaurant choices and a fitness center! I highly recommend staying here and trying it out!

I love the slots and promotion tournaments at Boomtown. The casino and rooms are all very clean. The staff are all courteous and the restaurants have great food and drinks. I plan on going back quite a bit.

I booked a room thru the website itself (not Expedia or whatever else) and upon arrival, was told there was no way I had done so because they had nothing available... I'm a local, and this was going to be a nice surprise for the family.. but their rooms are so extremely overpriced and then to not have my "reservation" actually booked.. just disappointing.

We checked in and it was quick and stayed at another part of the hotel that we hadn't stayed at yet. It was quiet and the room was nice and clean and decorated nice. The bathroom was great. Check out was easy and fast. The only thing negative was at the casino. Couldn't win at anything. That was not fun!

Our room was nice but We were unable to adjust the AC & Heat so finally just turned it off . They did not service our room the next day and I had to request towels and wash cloths twice . The first time they brought up bath towel and hand towels , NO wash cloths , and left them on the carpet outside the door . I called again to say I was not going to dry off with a towel left on the floor and still did not have any wash cloths . They sent someone up again with another set of towels and NO washcloths . I sent all the towels back except one and the nice young man did return with 2 washcloths .

STAY AWAY!!!!! for what is charged go to an upscale resort with class and service. So much pot smoking had a headache and couldnt sleep. Couldnt get anyone to help... oh well live and learn no wonder people dont go to Nevada anymore.

Get together with family and friends. Had a great time! Very great location. Food is good at the prime rib buffet. Rooms are clean but the pool didn't even used it because there's is no jacuzzi . It should be great to have one after a long day to go to the pool and jacuzzi.

Apparently smoking weed is legal in Nevada, a detail not disclosed when I was told they only had smoking rooms left. The entire 6th floor smelled like a marijuana field and I was traveling with minors.

This was a one night stopover on our way to Las Vegas from the Northwest. We had booked a north tower King suite with balcony and that is exactly what we got.When first entering the room, it was clean, well equipped and comfortable. The bed was comfortable and the balcony was large. The only two things that I could say might need some improving would be the fact that the bathroom has no fan, this is the first time in any hotel I have run across this. Also, when entering from the highway, the fact that this resort is the Best Western is not clearly marked could be better too. The casino is OK, not my main reason for staying here, but it is big enough to walk around and find something to play. Check in was quick and correct. The parking is plentiful and well lit. We didn't make it to the pool. We did have breakfast at Mel's and it was affordable and delicious!

I love to going to Boomtown casino. The food is excellent at the steakhouse and the staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome at all times. The table games are great because the dealers have great personalities. The price is good the rooms are good. Everytime we go to Reno we stay at Boomtown.

Stayed one night (4/16/2019). What a mistake! Would have given it something lower than terrible if I could. The front desk staff was rude and didn't offer any real customer service. The room was nasty. Not only were there numerous stains on the carpet (made me uncomfortable even walking on it with bare feet), but the sheets had urine stains. Who wants to sleep with someone's pee stains? Total yuck factor. They offered to switch rooms, to one located on the far side of the facility, but couldn't offer a discount or refund on the room. Wouldn't ever stay there again. And the $50 "resort" fee in addition to the room rate and taxes was nothing more than a money grab.

So hopefully by this i hope it was helpful on my feed back and maybe take it in concentration for choice for people that are gluten free and can have a choice on food for us to eat as a family thank you

check in was a bit slow as the couple in front of me asked too many questions. Finally, another clerk showed up to help me. They offered express check out if you give then your email- no way. The room has an iron & board, safe, refrigerator, microwave, WiFi, coffee maker,closet, dresser, two tables, and three chairs. Very roomy. There is smoke in the casino. I can see some paint chips here and there- very small. The carpet has some wear. There is plenty of parking but if you stay in the north tower, the walk is not that short, There is walking outside and inside the building as you navigate the maze,

Our smoke-free room was beautiful, but you have to walk through the casino to get to it. Even the lobby smells like smoke, and Mel's diner smells like smoke too. It's a very convenient location for us as we travel to California with easy access to I-80, but our one night there has satisfied our curiosity and we won't stay again because of the smoke. It can also be noisy as our room looked out on the access road which has 18-wheeler trucks driving by during sleeping hours.

This hotel is nice. There is plenty of parking. Our room was nice and clean. Beds are comfortable. Everything looks clean in our room. My kids also enjoyed the arcade area in the facility. There is a few good spot to eat in the facility.

Room had many stains phone did not work was given free Carousel rides to switch room and fruit couple of drinks had to walk very long distance to get where our room was from reception beds mattresses were hanging over the bed frame items from another person was left behind close Jay Lee jewelry very poor housekeeping. Please stay somewhere else. This needs a Hotel Impossible cleansing no kidding

A relaxing atmosphere with plenty to do. There's an arcade which had a lot more than just video games. There was a carousel, bowling, some rides, and miniature golf. My room was pleasant and comfortable.

The hotel I stayed in just had a remodel and it turned out beautiful. The rooms were very comfortable, and very clean. The bedding was plush, clean, and cozy. I would recommend this hotel to my friends, in fact, I already have.

This was super last minute. There was a storm coming that would put chain controls in effect through the Sierras before I could get through. Was able to get a last minute, no smoking room. Check in staff was super friendly. Room was nice. I was in the North Tower and it was very quiet. Only thing I don't like is it's not convenient to get your luggage in and out if the building and you can end up parking a long ways away. HOWEVER, they do have free valet for guests to help with the parking park, if you're cool with valet. I would stay here again for sure. There are slot and tables, of course. Multiple bars, a fun center, and a Mel's diner under one roof. Along with other restaurants and activities.

I stayed at this hotel the other night and had a great experience! I had arrived in Reno kinda late at night the day before I was going to be going to Lake Tahoe and was debating whether to stay at Boomtown or stay in downtown Reno at one of the big hotels but since I am a Best Western rewards member I decided to stay here even though the price was a little higher. The location is great, it is located on the Truckee river with the mountains in the background. The hotel is right off of interstate 80 about 15 minutes from Reno. Upon arrival I was very surprised, the outside of the hotel is themed like an old western town and has cool lighting that makes it look like a fun place to stay. Parking was a little confusing I'm the dark since it's in the back but I found it. Checking in was easy and the people at the front desk were really nice and helpful! I had booked a single king bed with a Mountain View, they gave me a room on the 4th floor of the north tower. I went to my room and along the way I was still surprised how nice the hallways and elevators were, this place was super clean. I got to my room and I really liked it, it was huge and had great amenities and again it was super clean! The room had a flat screen tv, microwave and refrigerator, a desk with comfortable chair and a large closet. The bed was so comfortable and the headboard was cool looking. The theme of the hotel continued into the room making me feel like I was in an old western hotel you would see in the movies. The bathroom was clean and nice. The only thing that I had a small issue with was the heater/air conditioning, the unit was pretty loud, but it worked. It wasn't a big deal though. The restaurants at the hotel were interesting because there is only the diner that's open late and for breakfast, the buffet isn't even open very much. The diner was alright. The hotel also has an indoor pool which I never did check out as well as it has a Fun Center with rides, games and mini golf. The fun center looked really cool but i didn't have enough time to check it out since I left before it opens at 11am. Overall this resort is great, clean, in a very nice location and was probably the nicest best western I have ever stayed at. Next time I am in Reno I will for sure stay at Boomtown again!

The BW at Boomtown was a pretty good hotel. I was planning on going back home the day before but I usually stop at Boomtown for coffee on the way out of town. I decided to stay at the hotel for the night and im glad I did. The staff is inviting, the rooms are clean and the pillows are like clouds lol. The only thing I was dissapointed about was I saw online it said 2 pools and a spa when its actually just 1 small pool and with 5 people in the pool already it was crowded enough to make me turn around and go back to my room. The lack of food options was also a concern but it was close enough for me to drive to another place. Overall it was a nice stay and I would stay there again!

I stopped in last night for dinner and asked the waiter what he recommended. He told me the fajita salad. WoW was he right. It was an unbelievable salad with chicken fajita strips, grilled onions and peppers. What a delicious salad it was. Highly recommended. Great food, fantastic staff. I will definitely repeat.

I love staying here! SO much truck parking its never a problem. Our room could not have been cleaner...and so well insulated. There were a few people talking outside of their rooms in the hallway as we were getting to our door ( not being rude or anything) and as soon as we closed our door...QUIET! The beds/linens/ pillows are so d*mn comfortable!! And of course, work had us up & out by 7:00 am...just once I would love to sleep in late here, it would be so easy. Beautiful, LARGE bathroom with excellent toiletries. Along with micro, frig, coffee maker & hair dryer. Front Desk ladies were efficient & friendly. Mel's Diner $7.99 Steak & Eggs at 10:00 pm was surprisingly really good! This is always a favorite stop for us & will remain so. Thanks again..see you next time we're driving through.

I always stay at Boomtown; this hotel and casino is perfect for family or just for fun! Defiantly would recommend this hotel to anyone! You can always enjoy relaxed in the hotel away from noise and just a few floors down you can enjoy the leisure of the casino. This hotel has the indoor pool and the arcade room for the kids too!

There was no designated pet potty area outside, the closest outdoor spot was a paved parking lot littered with cigarettes bits and dog poop. The room surprisingly did not have a pet smell so that was a plus.

As always we had a great time. The fun room for the kids, casino games for us adults,swimming pool, great food. Close enough to the snow and downtown Reno,and Cabela's. Always nice place to stay for us.

the BW room we stayed in was very nice considering we were staying in a comp'd room at Boomtown. the room was perfect for 2 grownups, the view from the room was BEYOND BEAUTIFUL!!!! the window opened a crack, so we were able to enjoy the fresh freezing air from outside I WOULD DEF STAY here again :)

Have always enjoyed the experience at Boomtown. Easy to get to (no city street drive), an almost always able to check in early, and new decor is so much better than the old cowboy look. Have enjoyed the pool, although it wasn't usable this time - not heated. Will almost always stay here while in Reno area

Spacious room with a wonderful view of the mountains, clean and well stocked. Coffee, fridge, safe, iron, blow dryer (not attached to the wall for easy use). The casino staff was very attentive and we had an excellent time

Boomtown was fine except all the restaurants were closed. The staff put us at the far end of the hotel. The pool indoor pool was frozen. The whole hotel smells of cheap cologe and cigarettes. The petes coffee closed a 6pm.the staff was very helpful thru all problems.

I was told that I had express check out! That I did not have to stand in line to check out the next day, just leave my keys in the room and go. Two days later I checked my credit card charges and found I was charged for an extra day's stay $184.19 I called to complain was told I had to talk with the manager but she was busy with an other customer and would call me back. She never called back. I will never stay at Best Western again.

We have stayed at this property several times and have always had a good experience. The hotel is always clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful. We will continue to stay at this hotel whenever we are in the Reno area.

Checking in was a horrible experience. The lady at the counter Remi was a rude to my wife and I that we had to ask for a manager and walk away from her. We were so disappointed with Best Western and this particular person. "Remi". the Manager Zach was very nice and took care of the situation.

I love Boomtown. You can get a room on Thursday night for free if you use their club card and gamble a little bit. I go skiing cheap at least once a month during winter, sometimes twice. During Spring Break for my son we get 2 rooms for free during the week. My wife and I can have a room and our boys have their own. they love the pool.

I stay at best western boomtown for work and always have a great fun time playing video poker, keno and blackjack. The entire staff is friendly and helpful and will do anything to make my stay more enjoyable that's why I never feel the need to head to any other casino but boomtown! I also bring my family here on weekend getaways and we have a blast in the fun center and dining at the steak house

I came specifically for the lobster buffet. Good price for $32.99 w/ players card $36.99 w/o it. They have a smaller selection of things to eat besides lobster; prime rib, turkey and sausage plus several side dishes. But the lobster is the star of the buffet. The dessert is also ok.

Nice hotel, friendly and helpful staff.Smoking allowed in casino, but not too bad. Guest rooms were very nice and didn't smell like smoke. Unfortunately, the buffet was not opened while there nor was the steakhouse. We were forced to go to Mel's diner, which was fine, but we were looking forward to the steakhouse and buffet for the morning. Had vouchers, but we were not able to use them while there due to the closed schedule. Casino was nice, but roulette table was not opened and we had to use the electronic roulette table. Not quite the same.

I really enjoyed my stay at this Hotel. Everything was clean,and the staff was wonderful extramely welcoming and very friendly . I am very satisfied with my stay. I have already recommended this hotel and would stay here again.

This was a family trip which included 3 of our adult grandkids, significent others and our 6 great grandkids. Our accomodations were very comfortable with a mini suite and adjoining room with 2 beds, and 2 additional rooms . All rooms were conveniently located on the same floor. The kids thoroughly enjoyed the fun center and the adults enjoyed the casino, the adult fun center. The location was a two edged sword. On the negative side the hotel is more or less outside the main city of Reno and on the positive side, the hotel is more or less outside of the main city of Reno. Yes, both the same. away from the noise of the city, but also away from the other attractions of the city.

I always like the casino hotel experience. You never have to leave the building, no DUIs, no getting lost in a strange town. Always a good value, discounted and free drinks, discounted food, and you might get lucky and win some money ;>)

Management is absolutely disgusting and racist. I couldn't ask my questions because he continually spoke over me. Even after I brought it to his attention, he still spoke over me. I have never been so mad and disrespected in my life. I am just disgusted by his attitude. If you are not Caucasian, you won't feel wanted.

I sprained my ankle really bad earlier in the day at Northstar. The boomtown staff was very accommodating and let us borrow a wheelchair for our stay. It was extremely helpful otherwise I wouldn't have been able to explore the casino or grab food. Everyone was friendly and helpful and more importantly accommodating to my situation.

We stayed in the north tower on the first floor in a room with a balcony. The room was very nice and smelled good. It was everything a 3 star should be. The only negative things are the heater was very loud and kept waking us up whenever it turned on. And, had to lug our luggage a long way from the parking lot to our room.

Had a great time! Decent payouts in the casino, hotel room was clean and nice, and the food was really good at the Steakhouse and Mel's. The staff was very helpful and friendly too. I'll go back for sure! Overall a fun trip!

We really enjoyed, our stay at Boomtown. Although we only stayed there one night. It was very refreshing very clean beautiful rooms excellent staff. Spent time at the casino with a little bit of money. And just had fun.

After 3 years of not going to Boomtown because of renovations, we decided to give it another shot. Beautiful rooms! Everything has been upgraded!!! They even have a kids area! We will definitely be back for a family trip!

My family and I stayed 3 nights for a small family year end get together. The pool was nice to get the energy out of the kids. The Ladies enjoyed Pete's coffee's every morning, and I enjoyed Mel's Dinner, good specials and economical. A very relaxed atmosphere with lots of public space for visiting family. The arcade was nice for the kids, also. The mountain views are excellent, with all of Reno close by, but not within sight.

The rooms in this smoke filled establishment are small, extremely noisy, but clean. Advertised deals are unavailable due to restaurants not opening and nobody knowing why. There are ong, long lines for any other mediocre food options. Instead of hanging around for breakfast, we opted to get the heck out of there so we could breathe and absorb the peaceful silence of a cold morning.

For our family Christmas vacation, I'd specifically booked a non-smoking room overlooking the mountains and paid extra for this--the nonsmoking rooms with a view were in high demand when I booked. The hotel "only had smoking rooms" when we arrived and they blamed it on Expedia. Expedia did nothing but offer me a $25 voucher and of course everything in Tahoe was full. It was awful, even sitting in this hotel's smoke-filled lobby trying to find another hotel was a horrible experience and I finally had to go sit in our car. Neither the hotel nor Expedia were not helpful at all.

Second time visiting. Options for everyone in our group: Indoor pool(could be warmer in December..), Fun arena for kids (80% operative), Casino, Peets and good dining options. Room isn't large, but has microwave, fridge & coffee. Bathroom could've been cleaner....

My family stayed here for Christmas. Overall, great hotel. Only complaint I had was the heater kept me awake all night. Hotel staff was friendly. TV was big. The TV was capable of HDMI but only had SD programming.

This is probably my fifth stay at Boomtown Hotel, the rooms are small, but very functional and well arranged, everything worked and room was very clean and beds were comfortable, restaurants have good food and service, have a nice selection of restaurants, easy to get to from freeway, will be staying again.

It's not remodeled, it's expensive, casino is trashy, the buffet was cold and gross, bed was okay. If weekday 1 might travel not too bad if GSR is booked. Shop around because other places are going to be better.

We had a lot of fun. We met a lot of great people and numerous different areas to explore. Hotel was very reasonably priced and decent. I enjoyed the freebies from check-in. The roller coaster and games were a great break from all the excitement.

Took a long time to get a third party cca form to them due to broken fax and there was no communication after giving cc information. Then got to room and smelled like fish the whole time during the stay

We're not gamblers but location suited our route for a stopover. Room was fine as was bathroom. We had dinner in the diner which was ok but we had no idea smoking was allowed in the casinos and bar so didn't spend much time there.

A bunch of my friends and I staying here and we had so much fun. Everybody was super friendly and helpful. It made our trip better knowing that we didn't have to worry about where we were staying or if it was safe. Good times .

The hotel was great, but the service at the Steakhouse was horrible. We couldn't get waited on so we got up and walked out after 25 minutes of waiting. The buffet was surprisingly good! The room was very nice, and pretty quiet.

Had a great stay at the Best Western Boomtown. Cabela's right next door got some shopping done. Room was as expected, won 200 in the casino. Good trip. Only downfall was the Buffett was all you can eat Lobster, no other option on the buffet. Had dinner in the diner, steak and eggs 7.95 was great.

Nothing fancy about this hotel. Bed was comfortable. Room was a long walk from check-in. Casino is downstairs and Cabellas is across the street. Hotel is about 10 miles from Reno right off Interstate 80.

We stayed at the Best Western at Boomtown over the weekend. They were extremely busy, with almost no vacancies due to people getting away from the smoke in California. Still they kept everything running smoothly. Our room was nice and clean, the Grill was able to find us a booth and we had a great dinner. It was quiet and restful and a great value.+

I needed to get away from the Camp Fire in Paradise to get some fresh air and clear my head after losing everything plus my cat to the fire. I've been going to Boomtown for almost 20 years and have always been treated well and have made several friends who work there. Just wanted to thank Best Western and Boomtown for making this stay what I truly needed. Michael

The staff at this Hotel made you feel right at home the minute you walked in. They helped you with any questions you had, resolved any issues if there was any. I experienced a problem with the room during our first day and the housekeeping staff took care of the situation within 5 minutes of my phone call and were extremely apologetic in which was not really there fault, it was miss communication.The Casino floor staff were wonderful and very fast with bar service. However the $5,55 Thursday night buffet was disgusting. The food was very limited and though service staff were friendly, it was slow and the area in which we sat was not very busy. Even though it was super cheap, I would not eat that again.

The room was vary comfortable and clean. We were on the third floor in the north wing and it was very quite. The only problem that I incurred was at check in. I have bad knees and the walk from check in to the north tower is long. other than that the stay was great.

This was my first visit to Boomtown and we had a blast. The hotel was very clean and the staff were very helpful. The only mishap was the initial room that we were assigned had a fish odor and when we reported it to the staff, they explained they weren't surprised as the room was above the lobster buffet! They immediately gave us another room. It was very nice and quiet, the bed and pillows provided a great nights sleep after a night of gambling. I can't wait to come back!

When we go to Reno...we chose this hotel. I like the rooms and staff. The rooms are clean. I make sure I get a non-smoking room. I just recently booked a top floor and a mountain view. It was great. This hotel is a bit out of the way, but that makes it quiet. It has Mel's diner down stairs, which we like too.

Very Good Services. I like the guest reward that they provide in the casino. i loved to play Black Jack and my wife loved to play the slot machine. I got to stay for free for 3 nights in any day unlike the other hotel they only gave you free nights stay from Sunday to Thursday. We cannot use that because we work from Monday to Friday and are day off is only Saturday Sunday. So, our best time to relax and play in the casino is during the weekend and Boom Town Casino Nevada has the perfect offer. I live in San Francisco and this is perfect.

The only real gripe was the number of restaurants that were close the night we were there, Our only real option for something other than a sandwich was Mel's. Now we both like Mel's but that was not what were were wanting. When you check in, you get a free drink coupon. Don't bother. Their well liquor is horrid. And if you ask for a beer with this coupon, you get a dirty look from the bartender. The nice quieter bar we wanted to go to was closed that evening. Of course, So, we went to the guitar bar when we used our coupons. I suspect that the bartender's attitude was at least partly due to the worse than awful "musicians" on the stage. On the other side of the coin, the hotel part, we were very happy with what we found. The room was clean and comfortable. Bed was nice and firm. Once we settled in for the night, we were good.

Stayed here as our travel plans made it a logical choice on way to CA. Price in advance was reasonable but Reno hotel taxes added $20+ to bill. Did not want the hustle bustle of downtown Reno. They have a $7.99 bar b que buffet and are next to Cabelas for your hunting fishing shopping fix. Quick access to I 80. Anyway quite well appointed room. Lots of parking but not close to the rooms. Drag your luggage casino! Refrigerator has leftover food from previous occupant, gross! But they sent housekeeping up quickly. Bar b que buffet was, well a casino buffet, mediocre but not bad. Well worth price. Might stay again to try the lobster buffet? Might stay downtown instead?

As said before. .. so Smoky. Food was disgusting. Even the bartender told us the Buffet was gross. Tables were mostly closed. Limited tables. Craps closed ... Above all Else ... People were sooo unhappy working there. Made a very bad experience. I Also got sick From their food. So there is that.. Thought it would be good for our puppy. All In all keep driving much better along the road.

The reception is in the middle of the casino and they'll send you thru the casino to your room, if you want to avoid smoke try to check-in using their website or app, you'll still have to pickup the keys unfortunately. To get to the room try the entrance to the meeting rooms by the North Tower, that will take you to the elevators avoiding the casino.Rooms are comfortable and very clean, unfortunately the Front Desk and the restaurants are in the casino and very smokey.

A pleasant surprise in Reno. My first stay here and I was impressed. Very nice room with a decent view of the mountains. Accomodating staff, and great food at Mel's Diner. I will return on my next trip thru Reno.

I'm a fan of Best Western and Elite Rewards member, but this was the first time I experience an awful experience. The reason for this is because I have severe allergies to smoke. Its very hard to find a hotel in Reno, even a 5 star, without smoke exposure. However, when I selected this hotel, it looked fun and needed a place to stay while running an errand in Reno. They claim the suite I reserved was "smoke-free". Well, it wasn't, and I was extremely ill through the night until morning. I was exhausted from my drive from San Jose, CA and was too tired to find another place to stay. The suite was beautiful but smelled awful, and my clothes even took home the odors the next day. They also failed to tell me the room had no window views and I was looking at HVAC systems and generators on the roof of the building. Not good. If you love the Western vibe of gambling and RENO then you may enjoy this place. The staff was super friendly and outgoing but overall this place wasn't a great fit for my family and me.

We rented the suite and it was very nice, the staff were very friendly and welcoming, short walk to the casino and restaurants. The only thing that I didn't care for was there must have been a motorcycle club going through and I heard them starting up all night long.

Tuesday it's a ghost town, so no crowds. Rooms are spacious and clean. Drinks are cheap and plenty of machines. Only bad thing Mel's diner isn't that good and the only place to eat on a Tuesday. The view is pleasant.

Had a good time, this time the room didnt have a smoke smell and the hallway smelled clean. The last time we stayed the hallway and Room had a terriable cigarette smell. Very clean fresh smell this time.this time.

enjoyed the upgraded room and all the perks offered by boomtown. they upgraded my visit from king size to a beautiful king sized premium two room suite...the only thing that would have made the visit more enjoyable is if I had a jacuzzi tub and a better view from the window I had a view of the dirt lot out back, however all the amenities made up for this

Great location on I-80. Full service restaurant, plus a diner. I'm not a casino person, but it is there for those inclined. Plenty of secure parking, close to gas station; and Cabela's. Easy access to freeway.

Picked this place for its indoor heated pool, needed to use it to get our toddlers energy drained after long car rides. Just wish they didn't close it and the family stuff at 9... I thought it being a casino they should have stuff open later. And the fun zone area opens late too. Wasn't able to check it out since we had other things to do before it opened at 11. The pool was nice and warm but the indoor area it is in didn't feel heated so when u got out of the warm pool it was cold. We requested to be near the pool since we got there late and wanted to make sure we got the chance to jump into it b4 it closed. If ur sleeping during pool hours I would recommend asking for a room nowhere near the pool, I could hear my husband and son easily from our room while they were in the pool. The room itself was nice had a microwave and the fridge had a mini freezer section for our ice packs.

We stayed here going and coming from Las Vegas. The room was quiet and the bed comfortable. The food available at the buffet (BBQ) and Mels Diner was only fair. No other food was available when we were there.

The room looked clean but when I opened the bed to go to sleep the sheets were not clean. I could not get any help other than staff throwing sheets on the table and walking out. No night manager and rude front desk clerk.

I am an event planner and have stayed in hindreds Four & Five Star/Diamond hotels with clients. I must admit I was amazed at the presentation of your property. Form the signage for parking to the cheerful greeting at reception desk to the design and cleanliness of the room, quite simply, you now have a fan! You have a really well thought out property and well trained staff. Great JOB!!!!!

I have stayed here on multiple occasions, just not for a while until recently. Very disappointed. The "suite" was dusty with dead flies on the insets of the walls. On the balcony, a broken piece from the door which looked like it had been there a while and the floor of the balcony really needed to be cleaned. I put my do not disturb sign up and two hours later, while asleep, house keeping kept pounding at the door to give me an ash tray I did not ask for :(. I don't ask for much, just a clean room and some quiet.

Very nice rooms but a little hard to find the main lobby. In order to get on the elevater you have to walk through the casino area where all the activities are going on. However, when you get to your room there is no noise and the room is very nice.
