« Outstanding and pleasantly surprised! »

We were amazed and pleasantly surprised at this Casino, It's clean and recently renovated. We had a room with 2 queen beds They were very comfy We all slept really well. My husband usually does sports betting and has to drive to Reno which is a 5 1/2 hour drive, and that's in good weather. Boomtown Is only 4 hour drive (BONUS!) They have a great steak house Restaurant with great food. You can dress up or go casual They also have a Mel's Diner that serves breakfast all day long. There is another restaurant that I can't remember the name of. The staff is very kind and attentive. The only downside was there was a regular coffee maker and not a keurig in the room. Need to have that Jet Fuel to get my day started, lol but I survived. We will definitely be returning!

« Excellent Staff and Service »

We are not gamblers, but had a morning business appointment in Reno on a weekday and decided to go the night before, and we chose to stay at this property for one night. The room was very clean and nearly everything we expected. If you need anything, just ask and any staff will help you. We arrived late and we had a two room suite. The bedroom was very large and comfy and the living area was huge.

    « Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! »

Our stay here was our first and we were a little nervous at first. But WOW!!! we loved it at boomtown. We normally stay at the sands but our experience here has made us change our minds. The suite was awesome and the food was fantastic. We will bring our son next time cause there is a lot to do for kids to. The only issue we had was the tub did not drain when we took a shower but that was the only negative. Thanks Boomtown for the great!! experience you have gained a customer for life when we visit Reno.

« A comfortable, restful stay in a great setting after a month of camping and working outdoors in the Great Basin »

In my experience this hotel had extremely patient, friendly, and helpful, accommodating staff and comfortable stay in an appealing setting. It's location affords a convenient jump-off point for those planning excursions to the west and north of Reno. It offers tickets for a free drink, glass of wine, or draft beer at the casino bars as well as meal discounts. It can be a bit confusing to navigate through the casino to the lodging areas; however they provide verbal and written instructions about how to find one's way. They have an incredible lobby display of old west memorabilia and relics, however, being an archaeologist, I can say with some authority that some of the Native American

« Great place to stay »

Had great staff helping us through out are stay. Lots to do and good food. Close to Reno and other activities in the area. Plenty of things for kids to do. I would recommend this place to everyone that is traveling in the area.

We stayed at best western plus in boomtown and it was great. The hotel was newly renovated. The staff was excellent, the service was impeccable. The food was excellent. There was a wide variety of gaming options. I would recommend to come and stay here.

    « Not great »

No breakfast is offered only one place to have breakfast didn't eat there had such a smelly room and bad night just wanted to leave and go else where a couple of restaurants but not a lot of people in them games were tight

    « BOOMTOWN »

Will not stay there again. Felt that the lobster buffet was terrible and overpriced. If you want good meal with excellent service eat at the Steakhouse. The fitness center in South Tower on second floor is too small and does not have weights and we only found out that there is a pool in North Tower by another customer.

« The Dirty Diaper on the Balcony of my Room! »

I opened the door to a nice room with a balcony and a beautiful view of the mountains and the Dirty Diaper in the middle of the view on the balcony... I quickly reported the issue to the cleaning staff and the front desk and they said

« Not worth the money »

Very pricey for a rude staff, dirty room, and kids playing and yelling all night in rooms around you. Their parents must have just left them there to go drink and gamble. Which I know is not the hotels fault, but we had our dog and I was told very rudely at the check in that my dog better not bark or I would be asked to leave. I paid 30 dollars a night for my dog to stay and 125 dollar deposit too. There's no continental breakfast, so every meal you are charged for also. Our floor in the room was dirty. Lastly our room was on the 4th floor clear on the other side of hotel, you had to walk through the convention hall, up the elevator and all the way across, very inconvenient with a dog, for being a pet friendly hotel you would think the rooms would be closer to the exits. We had a large family gathering and spent a lot of money at this hotel. 4 rooms we booked, with all of us there were 9, expected a lot more for almost 150 bucks per room per night!!

    « Great Value »

The hotel was nice and clean, quiet and a great value for the price. Boomtown is a great little stop on the way to Reno and they have some amenities for the kids as well. We often stop in on our way through to Reno.

« Boom Town in Verdi Nevada »

Hotel is clean, the king room I had was a little out dated as far as décor, the quality of picture on TV was poor, the hotel is in a good location for me as I drive through there quit often. the rooms are a long walk from the hotel lobby, rooms are ok, was expecting a little better quality room since this was a Best Western plus, I would stay here again due to it being in a good location, Dinning was a little expensive in hotel but food was good.

    « Great room »

Great room and other than being over the pool, it was great. Few minor issues: bath tub slow to drain. Toilet makes very loud noise when flushed. Bed was queen sized and comfortable. Good room amenities, including refrigerator.

    « Only worth a stay if.... »

You can fall asleep with loud banging noises from the vents, that the staff are aware of and doing nothing about, and if you do not mind the smell of cigarette smoke everywhere, and if you like to waste money on one of the most expensive and crappiest casinos in Reno

    3
« The dealers were amazing! »

I liked Boomtown, but it seemed like the casinos was geared more for the locals. In all fairness, I didn't actually stay there, but it's in a great spot if you don't want to stay in the downtown area. The dealers were great. Very patient and friendly. If I were to stay there, it would be because it wasn't in the downtown area, but closer to family.

« JUST A BAD HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE. DISGUSTING SMELL IN THE ROOM. COURTNEY THE HOTEL SUPERVISOR WAS RUDE »

JUST A BAD HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE. DISGUSTING SMELL IN THE ROOM. COURTNEY THE HOTEL SUPERVISOR WAS TERRIBLE AND DID NOT WANT TO LISTEN TO ANYTHING, SHE DID NOT EVEN APOLOGIZE FOR THE ISSUES WE HAD WITH THE ROOM. We staying in Boomtown on Friday 30th checkout on Saturday 31st. We stayed in a standard double queen non smoking room. We checked in and were out all day until 11pm Friday night, my husband and I came back to the room and turned the cool vent on since it was warm inside the room. As soon as we turned on the vent, there was a horrible smoke or some type of smell. I called front desk and we were told there were no rooms available so there was nothing they can do for us but have someone bring up air freshener, it was late and we were tired so I did not insist on anything. I sprayed the room but the smell was there all night. I was not able to go to sleep all night and stayed in the bathroom because that was the only place that did not smell horrible. I called again and asked for the supervisor and was told the manager was not on but I can leave a message. I left a message and someone named Courtney called me . I explained my issues about the room, also that I started having headache from whatever was coming through the vent. She first tried to discredit everything I said to her and basically called me a liar. She said they will start an investigation, I asked her to call me and let me know what happens. She said she can't do that since it was an internal investigation, she also did not apologize to me at anytime during the conversation or offer any type of solution - which I was not looking for any because I don't want to go back to Boomtown ever again. I have a lot of family that are always visiting Boomtown and staying overnight, I have alerted them of my experience.

    « Birthday Weekend »

Thanks for having us. I came to celebrate my birthday with my family. The suite was beautiful. The complimentary wine was a great way to start the weekend. The Steakhouse had delicious entrees for reasonable prices. Wish you had more restaurants to choose fun. My kida and grandkids love the indoor pool.

    « Boomtown getaway! »

My husband and I brought our daughter & her boyfriend for a weekend getaway. We decided to stay in Boomtown and boy, are we glad we did. Check in process was quick n friendly. Our rooms were awesome! Food was awesome! Slots were great! Even played free bingo on Sat night. It's located ten miles from downtown Reno so we were able to go there as well. But Boomtown was the best! We enjoyed ourselves so much we are going back real soon! The only complaint we had was on the morning of departure, housekeeping was knocking on our doors at 8am! With the DO NOT DISTURB sign up! And knocked twice more before we left.

    « Worst Brunch I've ever experienced »

Lobster Brunch was a total disappointment and at $40 a person totally not worth it. The Lobsters they provide have no claws which is the best part of the lobster. All of the advertisements show lobster claws or whole Lobsters. The lobster that the did have was way over cooked and was not edible in the least. No Prime Rib. No Crab Legs. Shrimp with the heads still on the was fishy and mushy. Mislabeled items. Frozen dessert pastries that were bland and dry. Tri Tip that was not flavorful and tough. No complimentary Mimosas. I had been here a little over a year ago and at that time they had 1 claw lobsters that were much better. Not over cooked and enjoyable. Not sure if they got a new chef or what caused the change, but, it's a total pass. Harrah's has a much better buffet and Peppermill has the best one of experienced. Disappointing experience to say the least at over $70 for 2 with discount.

« good place to stay »

everything was good, but the buffet could have been better. over all the stay was as good as always. I will be staying here again. I will let others know this is a good place to stay. the price is right, the food for the most part is good, and the staff is very good.

« They Got it Down Here »

We pulled in at 10:30 pm having driven from Quartzsite AZ and were WIPED out! The check-in process was seamless and the young lady who checked us in was professional, competent and sweet. Valet was a wonderful man who was there when we needed and did the hard work. Room was elegant, comfortable, tasteful, CLEAN and fully operational. DEFINITELY In the top three of BW'terns we have stayed at and we have stayed in many! Mel's Diner in hotel open 24 and had EXCELLENT kibbles and we were so thankful they were open as it would have been pizza delivery if not. We had a lovely Cobb & Chicken Dumpling Soup ?? and a Breakfast Quesidilia (sp?). All were remarkable. YUM ?? . They have a Peet's Coffee ?? in the Casino which was great ??-Slots and morning ?? coffee...nothing like it. Casino was ample and very clean. Lost my donkey but someone has to right? ?? Just an all around great place with spectacular ?? snow-capped mountain views. The only advice I would give is ask for the shortcuts dependent on which "tower" you are in-we literally walked 1/2 mile to our room thru Casino when we coulda cut that in half if someone had shared ... ??! You can bet we will return. Thank you BW Boomtown.

« Indoor pool is NOT heated and beds are horrible. »

We had been traveling for 8 hour with 2 small children. When I called I asked if the pool was working and they said yes. We showed up and got our very wiggly travelers in their swimsuits and ready for some fun. The indoor pool was COLD! Now I realize this is my fault for not specifically asking if your indoor pool was heated but come on that's ridiculous. Also no hot tub. I guess they want you to go spend $$ in the casino or in their arcade. The pillows on the bed were hard as rocks.

« Better than never = PETS ARE WELCOME NOW!! »

We have been staying at Boomtown long before it belongs to the Best Western Hotels's Family, but we couldn't stay here in several times that we were driving with our furry baby. So, imagine our enjoyment when we learned that PETS ARE WELCOME NOW!! We couldn't wait so long and stay for three days this past February (President's Week), and as always it is so great to enjoy of the unobstructed views on the snowy mountains, and having so much at the fun center with our little one was priceless, besides we enjoyed the Holiday Buffet for a super bargain prize, and the quality of the food is unbeatable, besides that the place took a make over for the best, and the ambience and atmosphere is really inviting, and enjoyable for a great meal time! We discovered the pets area, but it was funny because it was all covered with the fresh snow, so our doggie has a little hard time finding her spot before getting so cold, she isn't to fond of cold weather, but she loves to enjoy the views of it from the comfort of the truck, and/or the hotel's room. We didn't visit the indoor pool this time, so can say how the remodeling worked for it. Overall we have a supreme time at BOOMTOWN, and now we are more than happy to book here for our next trip to Reno/Lake Tahoe trip!

« WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER »

I called earlier in the day to book a room for my elderly father who was traveling, booking went fine. I had to call back later in the evening to cancel because he had to stop sooner than expected because he was feeling ill. The person who had answered, Marsha, was very rude and had an attitude during the process of trying to cancel the room. She then proceeded to tell me I couldn't cancel it because my name wasn't on the reservation, even though I had the confirmation number and the credit card number. I tried to explain our predicament to her again, and she then hung up. I tried calling back several times from my same phone number, each time being hung up before even being spoken too. I then called from a different phone number and then was ?magically? helped with no problem by a wonderful young gentleman with no issue or hassle.

Nice place. Nice people. Good food. Clean rooms. Casino is fun. Lots of winners compared to the other casinos in town and Las Vegas. Good place to stay if you are skiing in Tahoe. Plenty to do in the area as well. Very clean place.

    « Fun and Games »

We just spent two nights at BW Boomtown. Our entire experience was amazing. Chris Power at the hotel registration desk truly exemplifies the very best qualities of customer service. Our requested room preference was unavailable due to the holiday weekend. He exceeded our expectations in resolving the situation. Dinner at The Steakhouse was delicious. We enjoyed the live music both nights. Thanks for the great memories.

Boomtown has the most friendly employees, slots are loose drinks and food are excellent. I absolutely LOVE the pillows, beds are comfortable. The shower head is amazing. The mountain views are gorgeous and if you get a room with a balcony it's the perfect spot for morning coffee

    « Wonderful weekend!!! »

Stayed at Boomtown for a friend's birthday. Took her to the John Waite concert. We had an amazing time!! Rooms were comfortable and clean. We had a king suite, and it was awesome!! Our friends had a room in the North Tower, and they were very satisfied!! We've been going to Boomtown for years, and it's always been a great value. Their players' club is one of the best. Love the concert venue. Not a bad seat in the house!! They attract amazing artists!!

« Not bad for the weekend »

This was for a weekend to play in the snow. I really wanted Truckee but it wasn't in our budget. I didn't want to stay in Reno so I thought of Boomtown. We checked in at 10pm with no wait. Right when I entered I smelled that smoke. But I didn't expect anything less. Food options are decent. They do have a Mel's diner that's open 24 hours. We didn't try the lobster Buffett. I wish they had a food court. The room was clean. Pillows were fluffy. I would stay again for a weekend.

« Friendly, drinks arrive very fast, good rewards! »

We had a great time, since it wa Amy Birthday they upgraded my room & gave me extra rewards! My only complaint is they only have 4 3 line poker machines! We ate at the Steakhouse, our food was fabulous!

« Early closing of the fun center, pot smoke, only half of a coffee pot& rushed through dinner »

Tonight me and my family stay at Boomtown and I am quite disappointed. I requested an early check in and when I arrived my room was not ready. They promptly got the room ready as I tried to grasp the distance from parking to our room. No bell hop was offered so I made two trips in carrying my family's stuff. The fun center closed way way early and bit at 9pm like it is suppose too and therefore my kids got screwed on that. The pool was nice but during our dinner at Mel's the waiter kinda of was rushing us through our decision process so we would hurry up and order. My sandwich had so many japenoes I couldn't eat it. My whole floor which was in the north tower smaller like marijuana and half of my coffee pot is missing as well as the bathroom. sink leaking. very disappointed and want a refund . This is not what I expected for an $82 room

« Great spot to stop and play when your coming from California. »

The Blackjack dealers are great. They had five dollar buy ins. The rooms were comped because I had gambled there once before two night in the house. Free drinks to players and lots of good food to spend your winnings at!

« Nice hotel, great service, fun casino, terrible steakhouse. »

Stayed here for a quick get away on a Saturday night. Fast check in, they have us two free drink coupons and free mini golf for one person at check in. Room was cozy and clean. Ate at the steakhouse which was recommended by another hotel guest. Food was bad. Pork chop was cold on the inside, not cooked at all, veggies were hard, almost like eating raw ones. They did give me another pork chop and a free dessert for the inconvenience.

    « Enjoying our stay »

We come to Reno to visit a friend...and gamble. There are hotels closer to the main town, but, we like it here. This is not our first time here. We like the steakhouse restaurant and also Mel's Diner. Great staff, clean rooms, quiet and comfortable.

    « Satisfactory, just barely »

We stayed here because during the holidays, the Tahoe area was way out of our budget. This hotel was a good value, especially on the weekday night we stayed. Kids enjoyed the indoor pool which was quite warm. The diner restaurant was WAY to bright and loud, but the service and food were fine. We first got a room that was not properly cleaned and smelled awful. There was a plastic bag over the smoke detector. We switched rooms (the process took quite long, 1/2 hour at least after checking in to get settled in a better room). We ended up with noisy neighbors the first night. The rest of the stay was fine. Beds could have been firmer.

« Take Good Care of You »

I would definitely stay again at Best Western Boomtown! We were there for the New Years Eve celebration... The room was nice, remodeled and comfortable beds. Housekeeping did a good job in the North Tower 3rd floor. In fact all the Staff we ran into in the hotel and casino were courteous and helpful.

    2
    « Dingy »

This is a typical hotel/casino. It's dingy and smokey which is to be expected. The thing I did not expect was the cold and indifferent attitude of most everyone that works there. I did get a smile out of two of the staff that I had contact with though, everyone else needs some serious customer service training. Their huge neon sign out on the freeway is advertising for housekeepers and it was quite evident that there is a serious staff shortage there. My non-smoking room was dirty and smelled of cigarettes. After my request for some air freshener from the snotty "guest services" gal was ignored I had to go downstairs and ask for another room from Zach, who quickly accommodated me. The second room was clean and fresh. This hotel does not come close to meeting the Best Western Plus standards. It's clear that there are some serious management issues here. If I was BW I'd pull the plug right now.... Wi Fi worked great!

Reservations screwed up somewhere, disappointing. Male bartender at guitar bar was rude and arrogant. Renee was AMAZING AND AWESOME, Renee cocktail waitress has always recognized us when we arrive- 3 years now. and hotel staffing /housekeeping obviously changed, 150% IMPROVED, every hotel staff member was professional, effeicient, aware, and very friendly and welcoming. Best Western now runs the hotel.

The front desk staff (Kristen) was awesome. She was cheerful and friendly. She helped get situated and answered all our questions. Very professional and courteous. Suggest eating at the Steak House when its open. The food and service makes it a truly great dining experience. Recommend the Cowboy rib eye.

« Would avoid this in future »

This location provided no service for towels in swimming pool or anything you need. We had prepaid had cancellation penalty so had to stay here. Definitely would avoid this if you are planning to go with kids or if you are a non smoker.

cons - Slow draining bath tub. Cleanliness: white stains that stand out on brown bed skirt, and brown furniture. pros - Kids fun center located near by. Check in/out service was good. Restaurants near by.

« Cheap and Easy bit nothing special »

I stayed here between Christmas and New Year's to ski at nearby resorts. It's definitely a better value than staying at the squaw valley or south Tahoe area. The room itself was very nice and had updated showers, linens, decent beds. We were near the elevator so kind of noisy when people walked by entering and exiting the hallway. The Lobby and restaurants were so Smokey that my sinuses were really irritated. As a non-smoker, it would be nice to have the check in area separate from the casino and smoking area. Also I thought we'd have access to a jacuzzi on arrival, but it turns out it is the jacuzzi is seasonal and only the pool was open, which was full of kids.

« Stay at Boomtown, Nevada »

The facility and restaurant service is good but have problem about buffet pricing and discount. Our stay is pleasant and the casino promotions are generous. Also the entertainment in the casino are interesting. We have fun and enjoyed our stay.

The room was dirty when we came. There is only one trash can in the kitchen. Nothing in the bathroom. The only trash can we have is very small. I have to call for extra but no one came.the trash can was also dirty. No extra pillows. There was a dirty sock laying around behind the chair in the bedroom.

    « I enjoy staying here. »

I stop here when I make a road trip from home to San Jose CA as it's a few hours drive from there. I've been stopping for maybe 8 years, once or twice a year, and over the years it's slowly gotten better and better. It is a casino (and Nevada) so of course there's smoking on the floor, but that seems to be less also. They now have a coffee maker, m/w and frig in each room, which I've found is not always the case in a place like this. I only have stayed here and in Vegas, and no coffee etc in Vegas! The towers tor the rooms are not near the lobby, so be prepared to haul your luggage a bit, but after you've stayed there you figure out the best place to park, and they also have valet, if you want it.

    2
    « Not the Best »

We tried to check in at 3pm, the room was not ready. We tried again at 4pm and the room was still not ready, so they gave us a different room. The shower had almost no water pressure. My wife could not rinse the shampoo out of her hair. I could hear the neighbors conversation through the wall. Every time they opened or closed the door we could here them. We could hear the people in the hallway as they walked by.

    « Love this place. »

This is the only place I love to stay at when I go to Reno. I already can't wait to go back. it can't come soon enough. I love at the casino keeps you playing and it doesn't just eat your money. Never had a dull time here

    3
« Great place for an overnight stay. Very comfortable, but it is a casino. »

The room is pleasant, however the chair in the room is very in-comfortable. The fridge did not keep my left over dinner cold-had to thow it away. The bedding needs a havery blanket and get rid of the foom pillows bring your own.

    « Last option »

Make this your last option. I had made reservations 3 days prior to showing up. When I get there the lady at the counter tells me that they are sold out. I told her it's ok. I got a reservation. She insisted on telling me that they were sold out. Long story short. Some how a room was available even with a reservation. But it was a smoking room. Witch I didn't not reserve. Pay a little more. But you will get way better quality heater in roof didn't work. Made to much noise to keep it on to be able to sleep.

    4
    « many returns »

Our prefered destination when ever we are in this area, which is about once a month minimum. If traveling in winter months be sure to check road conditions.Location is perfect for mountain rec. or reno tahoe trips.

    2
    « Good for a night »

We got a king room with bathtub. I thought it would be a tub I could use but it was crusty and had a clog. There was a handicapped chair in the bathroom which made it even more unappealing. There was a big beer stain at the enterance and there was no room service.

« Great Casino Resort Stay »

Super clean and quiet. Beds were very comfortable and amenities were clean as well. I will stay here again even though I do not gamble or have much to do with the casino it is just a nice place to stay when passing through.

Our stay was great! The room was clean and fresh. The front desk was very helpful and friendly. The housekeeper brought us extra towels. We enjoyed Mels for breakfast. We will definitely be back. Highly recommended!

Multiple stays at this location. No guarantees on a great room or a stinky, broken down room. Non smoking room smelled heavily of cigarettes. Shower heads falling off, sink not draining Reported to checkout desk and the employee laughed.

I just found me a new place to stay, everything is right there and I had a great time. They even except your pet, food was good, won some money, a really good band was playing. I always liked staying down town, but this place has everything that you need, you even your pet is welcomed.

« Boomtown is Awesome (on the right day) »

Love Boomtown, love Cabelas, absolutely LOVED Mel's diner. The fun center was awesome except they were closed before closed 2 hours before hours posted. So we didn't get to experience this. Do not come on a Monday or Tuesday, the steakhouse was also closed. We did score on a suite $164 out the door.

« Good stopping point before traveling over 80 »

I stayed in an outdated suite even though it had just been remolded and was extremely disappointing for the money that I paid for it. While this is not one of my top 5 picks of somewhere to stay in Reno or Sparks. There is better value for cleaner and nicer rooms less than 15 minutes down the road. Access to the hotel was only available through the smoke filled casino. I could not visually see my vehicle once in the room.

thank you so much to all the staff for helping in our situation when our car broke down in the parking lot on our way back to california. we were able to get a room immediately and we were able to finally get the tow truck to get us home!!

    « Road Trip »

Boom town was our first stop of a 11 day road trip. We unwound for 2 days at Boomtown. The staff is great from check in to check out. The décor is great. The steak house was amazing!!!! We were served a 3 course meal that was perfect!!!! The restaurant staff were attentive and professional. There was no small touch left undone. We got to see family and do some shopping. Plus just peace and quiet in our room. We played the slots some, always fun. Better when you win!!!!

« An Oasis 9 Miles From Reno »

I wanted to go back to Reno, but this time not stay in one of the classic casino/resorts. Looked online and found a Best Western outside of Reno that looked like it could fit the bill. Discovered a few moments later that it was also a casino, but I continued to book it anyway - the price was right, and the location allowed me to avoid Reno traffic if and when I went into the city. The rooms were nice, with all the features usually found in a BW, except breakfast. Since Mel's was onsite that part was taken care of. Other places to eat and drink within the complex, and of course, gambling - it is a hotel/casino, after all. Overall, it was a great 2 night stay.

    « Clean and updated »

Great value for the money. Stayed in the north tower - rooms were new. Bedding was extremely comfortable. Skip eating at Mel's diner - food wasn't good and the restaurant smelled of smoke. The North tower rooms had no smoke smell.

    « Over-rated and Over-priced Thanksgiving Buffet »

I was alone on Thanksgiving, and I wanted to do something special for myself, so I drove from Roseville, CA to Boomtown for the Thanksgiving Buffet. I have to say that it was the biggest disappointment of any buffet I have ever had! The "Chefs Specialty" Dressing tasted like paste; the turkey was pressed, not fresh roasted turkey; the Lobster was....after pulling the head off and cleaning it up.....was tough to chew and tasted nothing like Lobster; the mashed potatoes were dry. AND IT COST $38.00!!!! The quality of the food certainly did not justify that high price!! I will never take in any of your food venues again! In fact, after losing almost $300 in your casino, I probably will not be back. It's a shame, because this used to be one of my favorite get-aways. My Thanksgiving excursion was totally ruined.

    « Friendly, smaller casino/hotel »

I enjoy staying here because of the friendly atmosphere casino staff are always very helpful; poker room is great. Good assortment of restaurants. All at a great price if you stay occasionally. Close to downtown Reno.

« Away from the heart of Reno »

If you line a mountain setting, this your place. We DIDN'T want to be downtown and bothered by the homeless, bright neon lights and train traffic. Here you have quiet nights with Mt. Peavine out your window. We loved hiking hawk meadow trail from hotel.

    « Great stay »

The hotel and casino are a great place to stay. The rooms are big and spacious. There are plenty of machines to play on as well as table games to choose from. You have 4 restaurants to select from when your him hungry and an awesome coffee cafe. Stay is move and friendly and the room views are beautiful. You are only 7 to 10 minutes from downtown Reno and there is a chevron has station righjr next to the hotel. The only reason why I did not rate this a 5 star was the room could of been a tab bit cleaner.

    5
    « Fun Stay »

I love to gamble. Don't spend a lot of time in my room. But the room was comfortable and clean. I slept well and had a very good time. I was given a choice of room location (near elevator, away from elevator). When I needed to stay an extra night because of snow conditions in the mountains, there was no problem (as they were not full at the time).

    « Very Unpleasant Stay »

Our Room was not cleaned, I've reported it, I've got nothing but BS and excuses and it was not cleaned all day. Any problems with this hotel, they do not offer anything for the inconvenience. They have no customer quality care.

    « Enjoyed »

Have stayed here at Boomtown many times and always enjoyed my time there. It is a nice getaway without hassles. And it is right next door to Cabela's, a favorite of mine. Only takes a couple of hours from Sacramento and is ten miles from busy Reno; easy on easy off the freeway; good parking, has a gas station with mini mart and car wash.

House keeping needs to add more room attendant, have trouble cleaning rooms on time?? The variety of places to eat is very limited, parking for registered guest is not good if you leave because of the none guests that come for events and fill up the parking no parking saved for guests.

« ADA Compliant room was reserved and not available when we checked in »

I reserved a smoking, wheelchair accessible room. I also confirmed the pool was indoors and had a lift to get someone in and out. Our room was apparently being "deep cleaned" so they could not provide us that room or any other room that met the requirements of our online registration. Nobody informed us ahead of time. We ended up in a room that did not meet our needs. The pool lift was also broken and we were unable to use it during our stay, so we were unable to swim which was one of the main reasons for staying here, since the pool was indoors.

    « Probably not again »

I stayed here with my young son on Thursday 11/2/17. It bothers the bejesus out of me that in order to get to the hotel elevators you have to walk through a smoke filled casino. Why is there not access to the elevators from the lobby? I am a non-smoker, my son has asthma. The ONLY way to get from the hotel lobby to the North side elevators was to walk outside, drive around to the conference room entrance, and then walk through a maze of corridors to the elevators. I understand that it's a casino. I understand that people smoke, but damnit provide reasonable smoke free access to your hotel elevators. I chose this hotel because it was a Best Western Brand. Front desk staff were awesome, one fella even making a paper airplane for my son. The room was clean and comfortable. Sad, that for a hotel/casino with several restaurants they don't offer any breakfast, or do they offer room service. So for a guest that has severe smoke allergies with a young son with asthma in order to get a meal, I would have had to walk once again through a smoke filled casino to a on-site restaurant in order to get a meal.. I won't stay here again.

« Our stay at Boomtown »

As always the staff at the Boomtown Best Western were very professional and helpful. We always book our reservations directly with the hotel staff and they always accommodate our needs. We enjoy the atmosphere of a casino, but with a friendly staff at the hotel.

    « Overnight in boomtown »

It was very challenging to get our stuff to our room, couldn't find a cart. The hotel layout is very tricky with kids. We neede a roll away and had to wait a long time for it. We were tired and wanted to go to bed. We didn't sleep very well because it was noisy.

    5
« Much better since Brst Western has taken over »

Much nicer and cleaner rooms, hallways, lobby and overall since Best Western has taken over. Before, lobby staff were smoking at the desk, chatting among themselves and wearing just about anything. Now, staff is professional and easily identifiable as hotel staff.

Great place for families - nice quiet indoor pool - plenty car and truck / rv parking - walking outside is safe - arcade staff friendly and fun - not too noisy - it's conveniently located on I80 - there are restaurant choices - buffet, Mel's, steakhouse, snacks of pizza etc

    « Ok stay »

Our stay for the price was ok. Make sure you get a deal because the rooms they give you are of worth more than 100.00 on the weekends. During the week don't pay more than 35.00. They tack on several more fees. They will say your room is 35.00 but it's really closer to 50.00t, so bare that in mind.

Fabulous dinner at the Steakhouse. Great service, fantastic presentation and delicious food. Great nightly entertainment at the Guitar Lounge. Fun one night stay! « Not what it used to be »

With time all things have a habit of going down hill with lack of care and maint. That's what has happened here. Buffet only 3 days a week, steak house only 4. Rooms need to be remodeled along with the hvac. The place needs to be updated.

    3
« OK but not great »

Average room but we were put in an "interior" room that the window faced a WALL of their other side of the building....maybe only 15' from our window.... couldn't even tell if it was day or night. Be sure and check if you're getting an inside (pool) or outside view. We were quite disappointed in our 'non-view'

« If you want to be double charged and beg for washcloths stay here »

Stayed here from October 7th through the 15th and being a local, I had hoped it would be worth what I spent for a business trip. Arrived on a Saturday night, and tried to call housekeeping as there was a baggie with something frozen inside the small freezer in the in room fridge. Picked up the phone and it was dead. So I used the "speaker" function. Although they responded quickly, the fix for the phone was to plug the handset in the opposite side. The next call I made after that, the plug fell out during the call. I called and mentioned this numerous times during the rest of my stay and they finally fixed it the last night I was there (night 8). Re: the freezer, they sent 3 people up, I finally told the 3rd one that if we unplugged it and let it defrost overnight, they could probably clean it out the next day. I told him I'd be in training, and please would they make sure it was cleaned out before I got back. Next morning I tucked a towel under the fridge as it was dripping. Came back at 10pm after a VERY long day training and still the fridge is unplugged and the mess is in there. Called, they came up and wiped out the fridge with the dirty bath towel I had tucked under the fridge. I asked if they would please use some kind of sanitizer so that I could use the refrigerator and the guy didn't seem to understand and just kept using the dirty towel. Finally they sent someone else up who cleaned the entire fridge and freezer with clean cloths. I had no sign to use for the door (do not disturb) so expected clean towels at least daily which never happened. No coffee replenishment although they had a coffeemaker, they just left me with the decaf. I had to call and ask for washcloths and even after the first request, still did not get them daily, so I decided just to ration what I had. Cleaning consisted of making the bed and taking the obvious trash. The little "runner" they put across the bed had something crusty on it, so I tossed it on the floor by the door with the dirty towels expecting replacement and instead they just kept putting the same dirty runner on the bed, until again, I called. These are just the room issues They charge $12 per day or so for "resort fees", yet give you ONE discount of $4.00 off the "lobster" buffet even though there are two of you sharing the room. 8 days of resort fees and they wouldn't do more than that. The "Lobster" buffet just has lobster - I was expecting more lobster dishes. No, just whole lobsters you can eat. Not worth the $36 before the $4 discount. The steakhouse had excellent food that was the highlight of the week, however, they took forever to serve us and we had to finally ask for the check as all the wait staff disappeared. The next night I called for to go as a guest and they refused to take it over the phone. Instead they force you to order at their bar and wait... and wait... and wait.... On to the front desk. On Tuesday I called to extend my stay through Sunday (previously had only intended to stay until Friday) and add two rooms for my partner and his kids and was told they had no rooms at my rate. Called back to find out what they did have available and they had rooms for me. I was so excited! I booked my room through Sunday and added two rooms for my partner, his wife and their boys. I had it confirmed and double checked at the desk when I came back from training that night as I wanted to give them my partner's name. Also got my card rekeyed for my stay extension Friday I get my bill emailed to me even though I was still staying there. Called to find out what happened and no room extension and no rooms for my partner and his kids..... This after both calling and going to the front desk. Fixed it over the phone supposedly and visited the desk when I got back because of the past history. Again, no rooms. Stood at the counter and got them confirmed, also added my partner's wife's name to my room so that she could get a key so her boys could enjoy the fun center until their rooms were ready. PUT ALL THIS ON OUR BUSINESS CREDIT CARD When my partner's wife arrived, they took her card to guarantee the room and refused her entry to my room. AGAIN, I called to get this corrected and since my husband was available, he went to the desk and gave them HIS card for our business. Checked out on Sunday and checked out for all three rooms so my partner and his family could relax. They mistakenly put my partner's room back on his card instead of the business card my husband physically stood in front of them and gave them. I had them reverse the charges and paid for them all on my credit card. Our total was $995 for the week...... today, Monday, the day after check out my partner's card was charged $400 and my card was charged $1983 for a grand total of $2375. Charges should have been $738 for my room and $259 for my partner. Now we sit as they supposedly "FIX" everything. Waiting to see if it's fixed....

    « Wedding was Great! »

Before getting into it, I do have to say that the front desk reservations really need to communicate with the wedding event planner better. They were the only aspect of our event that dropped the ball, although they did remedy most of the screw-ups. We were on a budget and looking for something close for my bride's family and friends. With a little hesitation, we looked at Boomtown because they fit our budget. What a gem! We had our vow's down in their beautiful orchard, a grassy setting with a wonderful waterfall as the backdrop, and a rustic old wagon off to the side for some epic country feel wedding photos. After the ceremony we adjourned to the ballroom, where we co-op'd with the planner on decorations to make the venue "ours". Every aspect of our wedding went off without a hitch and the hotel gave us a nice rate even though they were booked for the balloon races that weekend. The on site coordinator, Sharon Slater was PHENOMENAL! She was the catalyst for our event and a big reason there were no hiccups at all. At our price point, I was really skeptical and wondering where the let down would be, as everything came together, I figured it would be in the food, but once again, Boomtown IMPRESSED! The food was very good and all the guests were very satisfied. I cannot recommend Boomtown enough, you get all the glitz of a Lake Tahoe style event without the price. Had I told people that we spent $20k on the wedding, no one would have questioned it, but we paid much, much less. You can't go wrong with Boomtown!

We had a wonderful visit. Our room was very clean and nicely decorated. The room was big and spacious giving the 3 of us plenty of room to stretch out and relax . It was a good experience and we would stay here again and recommend it to friends.

« Nice on the outside, horrible on the inside. Do not stay here. »

The room was nasty. The toilet and shower did not work. The sheets has holes in them and the carpet was filthy. The room smelled of old smoke. We went to the front desk and complained but was told because we did not book through them, there was nothing they could or would do. Needless to say we will never be back or recommend this hotel to anyone. We left.

« Rating hotel we stayed at. »

I was totally impressed with our stay at Boomtown. We were only going for one day and when I called them the cost was very reasonable so I decided to stay there. From the time we came in to check in to the time we went to our room, we found the room to be very nice. We rested for a little while and then went out to gamble. The ladies offering drinks were very pleasant and got me and my sister very nice wine. We ate at the lobster restaurant and that was also good. My husband and I did not like the pillow so we did sleep real well. In the morning we had so good coffee and packed our bags and we're ready to leave. We all decided that Boomtown was a place we would definitely stay at again.

The Casino is very easy to get to. Next to Cabela's and plenty of gas stations near by. Nice view of surrounding mountains. Looks like nice RV Park adjacent to property. The Casino appearance is nice and the lobby area is very good. Appears the place is well maintained. The Staff is very nice and helpful. Rooms are good value. Nice pace for relaxation, just far enough from City hustle.

« Place was just OK »

Boomtown best Western it's just an OK place to stay the rooms are clean coffee microwave water bottles refrigerator but the hallway I stayed on smelled like pot foor nights in a row, the parking wasn't very good if you want to park rather closer than farther away unless you know certain tricks to getting in the parking lot you as you exit the freeway there is only one entrance for the parking lot, the casino was very deserted in my opinion is not very good

    5
« Great place outside busy downtown Reno »

Wanted to be outside the downtown area of Reno, and Boomtown was the place. Still in a casino, but not with the hustle and bustle of downtown. Mel's Diner was a fun dinner. Also had a fun area for kids. Would definitely stay here again. Also convenient location next to interstate.

    2
« Room in poor working order and dirty »

We've stayed at this hotel lots of times. The room was comped since we spend money at the Casino games. I was very disappointed this trip. The floor was dirty, the bathroom floor had hair on it. The toilet had urine splash on seat. There were no wash cloths or complimentary water left in room and the shower wouldn't work. You'd think this would of been checked prior to our checking in. Having to pick hair off the sheets and pillows is gross. The room was in the North tower, which is already in poor repair. Paint peeling off the walls and vanity.

Great accommodations with Mel's restaurant on site. Room was small but comfortable...and clean. Casino OK but smoky. It was quiet for a hotel next to the freeway. I would recommend it over the Reno hotels. Also, Cabelas is on site.

It was a very small but quiet hotel and very clean and tidy. Nothing really special but convenient for a little relaxation. It could have had a better noise protection on the tower we were in as the freeway was rightt on top of us and it got a bit noisy at night. All in all it was convenient and downstairs was quiet.

« Noisy dungeon with shifting room charges »

Very noisy A/C in room. Room charge issue between booking company and front desk.....felt like bait and switch. Room felt dark all the time due to no outside window. OK for a one night crash pad. On the plus side... good buffet, good deli, Mr. Pete's coffee, and multiple computers for guest use.

« Not a Best Western Plus. This is far below Best Western »

Day of Checkin: Power went out, Room was not full clean. Day 2: Time for shower oh wait, better let the rust get out of the facuet and shower (Waited at least 10 minute). Awesome, Management oh what that's a joke. Asked for the tax exempt form since I'm a soldier here on travel. Was told to use the business center and find it for Nevada. Called the Nevada Taxation Department and they stated for Nevada you don't have to use it. You just have to provide them the card. Winning Management here. Just got to my room no house keeping. So, trash from the night before is still in the room. I only wonder how much better this stay can get. Will be calling corporate Best Western to till them how great my stay was.

    « Great Place »

We came here since Cabela's shared a parking lot with this hotel. We were in the area for a memorial service but also wanted to go to Cabela's. This was a win win. Coming from California it was a shock to smell the cigarette smoke in the casino. This was the only downfall of the trip.

    4
« Very reasonable, casino decor. »

We stayed one night, didn't use casino. Price was very good. Room was a bit small, the décor was casino. Faux leather between rooms on exterior next to door. Casino allows smoking, although room was non-smoking, it smelled of smoke, so if you are sensitive to that it may be an issue. Long walk to elevator was through the casino, where people smoke. Overall, it was ok, the price offset the negatives. No breakfast is offered, but has a diner on site.

    4
    « Good hotel »

Good hotel, great price, not real busy. It is in good location and the staff is nice. Nice rooms, exterior of hotel looks like old time stores. Buffet was just ok, Mel's diner was delicious and only breakfast option.

    « Don't arrive after 10 pm. »

We were booked into the Grand Sierra for the "Big Reno" show and arrived a day early and they were full so my colleague suggested the BW in Boomtown as he had stayed there in the past. I booked via Booking.com and we arrived at 10.45 pm. There were no valets to park and a request for a Bellman as we had several cases did not produce one. The charge for the room ended up 20% more expensive than quoted because Booking.com did not quote the "resort" fees. I paid for the room but my colleague had a BW loyalty card but this was not honoured when I requested points which is no big deal but the insouciance in which the enquiry was met more or less reflected the general demeanour of the hotel. Room was adequate and clean but I entered the room with some apprehension as the corridor was filthy and had clearly not been vacuumed in some time. I won't go back when there are several good hotels 10 minutes drive away.

Great buffet, relaxed fun slots, all night breakfast, great sleeping, beds were comfortable, decor was modern, exercise room inside pool, I won money!!! They offered free nights stay, What a great value, very cute gift shop with fair prices. I did get cold though, from the air conditioning.

Boomtown is great for a family stay. They are clean, affordable and the comps are well worth the stay. Plus it is a short travel for any other sites or amenities within the Reno area. Staff is very friendly.

Beautiful rooms with a wonderful view overlooking the pool. The staff was very helpful. Rooms looked like they had just been remodeled. Very modern looking. Plenty of chairs to sit on so you did not have to always sit on the bed.

We were glad to have these accomodations as a chance to relax on our way home. Kids enjoyed the pool and we enjoyed the lobster Buffet. Hallways were a little noisy until later on in the evening. we would stay there again. Glad rooms were smoke free.

    « Great place »

This hotel has a great old west look outside and fun atmosphere inside. Being from California, we're not used to smoking in the facility...but the smoke smell wasn't too bad and there wasn't visible smoke lingering in the air. The room was very comfortable and roomy (for a hotel room). We had hoped to go to the buffet but you have to be a players card member to get the deep discounts...so if your local or regular visitor, get the players card for the deep discounts. A good mid way point (if you don't want to stay in Reno).

While heading home from the west coast we found this little gem to crash for the night. It took a little longer than we would have liked but well worth the wait. Charlene's pleasant personality made us feel very welcome and set a great mood for our evening.

    « substandard best western »

The hotel operation is secondary to the casino business. You have to enter through the smoke filled lobby to register, then park way far from your room and schlep your suitcase. There is no free breakfast (I thought all BW's had free breakfast). The room itself was fine, and works if all you need is a place to sleep near Reno. It is tough to find a Nevada hotel that is not casino oriented, but still I expect better from Best Western.

    « Dreadful 4 night stay »

We booked in advance by internet and they assigned us a room overlooking the completely enclosed swimming pool. We had no view of the outdoors and no natural light. Very noisy with loud yelling children in the pool up until 9pm followed by intermittent but frequent loud humming throughout the night from the pool filter pump. VERY cold air temperature in the room - only one very thin blanket on the bed and faulty heating. It took over 24 hours to bring the room temperature up to a comfortable level. Housekeeping very poor. The room was not clean when we arrived. Food scraps and an empty plastic bottle on the floor. We stayed for 4 nights and each day housekeeping was lax - either no replacement cups, plastic glasses, tissues etc or bed not made. You never knew what you would come back to each day. Dreadful shower. The head was too big giving a very wide spray of water - not very effective as much of the water was hitting the wall or the glass shower door. Far too many screeching and badly behaved children in this hotel. I could not recommend this hotel and we would definitely not stay again.

    « Senior Games Reno Tahoe 2017 »

I have lived in the Las Vegas area for 34 years and have never stayed in a Hotel / Casino before. I have been to a lot of hotels and a lot of casinos but this was a first. So that being said if you are a casino person then this hotel/casino is prefect for you. I like this property because it's outside of the hustle/bustle of the down town congestion with all the benefits of live gaming and a great selection of machines. For those that aren't of the game type then this is still a good place just outside of the down town traffic. There are several great places to eat within the casinos. Great indoor pool. And, best of all it is still a Best Western property with all their benefits. Being near Lake Tahoe there are an amazing number of great places to visit while there. Planning a trip to Reno/Tahoe area? Then add the Boomtown to your list of place to stay.

    « Excellent Stay »

Boomtown is the place to go for fun and relaxation. Great food at Mel's diner. The fun center is excellent for kids, great place to take the family and the pool is really nice too. The lounge people are my favorite, the remember your name and make you feel special. Everyone is personable, and really treat you special. The rooms are excellent and really makes your stay very enjoyable.

Although we had a minor hiccup at check-in the rest of the stay was great. The room looked like a small apartment. The king bed was comfortable. It was a wonderful stay. I wish we could have stayed more than one night.

It was bit confusing the find how to get to the tower we were staying in, we had to walk bit around before we found it. We only used the hotel for convenience to stay near by our destination for next day. Because we arrived late at night we di not really used any of the amenities there.

I stayed in a smoking room due to last time they charged my credit card for smoking and I have never smoked in my life. The smoke was coming through our window from the floor below. Never thought anything of it until I got my monthly CC Bill and there was a $250 charge on it so beware this is not the old friendly boomtown and I am done with this place really gone downhill. I am a VIP that playedalot there but now have to find a new Casino.

We have gone to this evert many times!!!! We had stayed downtown all the other times. We decided to try a best western, the only one we could get was in Verdi!!!! What a great place!!!! So glad we chose this one!!!! They have a great staff. It was out of town enough to be quieter, however not inconvenient to get to town. Uber was the way to go!!!! under $20!!!! Taxi was over $30.!!!!! There were multiple resturants, delis, and a diner to choose from for food!!!! The room was comfortable with a patio. I will go back and use this Best Western!!!!!!

We felt like we were coming home, as we always do, when we stay at Boomtown. We loved our room, very quiet, the BBQ buffet was very good and fresh and enjoyed playing the slot machines. I gave Boomtown an excellent this time because we liked it so much. Boomtown is very loyal when it comes to sending its customers offers every month. We have been going to Boomtown for years, and they send us offers every month faithfully. Would not hesitate recommending Boomtown to anyone.

« very tight for big rigs »

This KOA Journey is an ok overnight spot but not a destination. It sits about a half mile of Hwy 80, but because it is behind and downhill from the Casino the road noise is not bad. The entire park is one big parking lot so big rigs will have an easy time driving thru. Each site is mostly level but very tight. There is a small patch of grass at the rear of each interior campsite with a tree but unfortunately, that is where your neighbors' hookups are, yuk. You do have a small parking space for your toad next to your rig. This park is dated and a bit run down, WIFI is iffy, and asking to use the restroom (getting a key) each time is a little awkward. Staff was friendly and helpful when they were not sitting out in front of the office smoking. Sprint phone and 3G worked well in the area and there is plenty of open sky for your satellite.

    « A disappointing best western »

I know it's a casino, what did I expect. I expected best western standards. The room refrigerator had very old leftovers in it. Old enough that just opening it filled the room with foul odors. Someone had purged themselves in the bathtub and when we tried to shower bits of corn and green onions gurgled up out of the drain. Housekeeping did promptly come to clean the refrigerator, so that was good. We just didn't use the shower, hopefully it all finally drained away. Minor bits of trash behind the chair, perhaps evidence of a hurried cleaning crew. Not a big deal but just shows an uncharacteristic lack of quality. The front desk was nice as was the refrigerator cleaner. Will continue to stay at best western when convenient, just not this one. I know, casino...

« Much Improved since our last two visits... »

The overall appearance of the Hotel, Rooms and Gambling areas seemed considerably Better Cared for and cleaner than on our recent prior stays. One minor maintenance defect was attended to promptly with a smile. Even though the machines and Tables were less than generous with us, the personnel, dealers and Pit Bosses were all friendly and made our losses palatable. Our overall experience on this visit was much improved and we certainly hope that the B W transition will be a successful venture. Although multiple items are checked as Average, we have relatively High Standards and these marks shouldn't be considered derogatory.

Excellent place to stay the only issue was no room service. It was very relaxing and the employees were all very pleasant and helpful. The room was spacious and very comfortable, and the way it was set up my husband and I were able to sit and watch TV without having to be on the bed. Will definitely visit there again.

    « It's a casino »

Room was great, no noise, very comfortable bed and whole room was plushy. The "free" coupons were worthless to us, tried to use the "buy one get one" beer coupon and it didn't work for the local draft beer only lesser beers(bud, coors). The only dinner food open by the time we got there was Mel's even though there are a few other restaurants, it was Monday night so it must have been slow, it would be great if there was at least a sandwich shop. Unlike other BW's this didn't have free breakfast, so had to eat at Mel's again and pay for it. We drove cross country and back this summer, so we've stayed in a lot of hotels/motels, this was better than some and for the price was much better than staying in downtown Reno, since we were only passing through. Oh yeah, there was a Peet's Coffee, which makes everything better ! Close to Hwy 80

Not pleased at all! Areas of the casino & hall way to our room smelled musty, like mold. They were working on a room on our floor & left garbage outside the door in the hall way. The door to our room was off level & had to yank to close the door. The ventilation in the casino was the worse I have been around. The 1st night we ate at Mels. I had the country scramble. I like my eggs dry but those were so dry they crumbled apart on my plate. It was like they were cooked the left to sit for a few hours. I told the waitress & she said "yea they look pretty dry" & walked off. My stomach felt like crap until the next afternoon. The next night we ate at the all you can eat lobster dinner. Not the greatest but for $35 for all you can eat I have no complaints. Now the biggie.I called for 4 days to make reservations & all I got was a recorder. Finally called Best Western & reserved through them. I was quoted 62.99 a night. I didn't check my email confirmation until the day I left home. 1st night was 62.99, & the 2nd night was charged at $134.99. I will not be staying there again.

    « poor customer service »

Be aware of the billing as they will quote you one price when booking and charge you the high price. Made a reservation over the phone using promo code for $34.99. The confirmation arrived by email and was charged $80. When checking in it was brought to the attention to the clerk that the rate was $34.99 and showed the promo code but she did not correct it at that time. She said the final bill would show $34.99. At check out after receiving the receipt, the bill again showed $80 for the room instead of the $34.99. This took 15 minutes to correct and when I brought it to the attention of the manager, no consideration was given for the inconvenience.

However I want you to improve the way of spending the complimentary food credit at any both restaurent and coffee shop. I had $30 food credit. I just want to drink a cup of coffee. Unfortunately, I have to give my $30 credit for a cuf of coffee cause no change will be availabe. That is ridiculus to have a cup of coffee for $30. Why dont you have a credit system just enough money to pay the bill and save the rest for some other use.

The room was disgusting and the staff was rude. No one seemed to care. Blood on the shower, hair balls in the drain, urine stains on the toilet, dirty comforter, room smelled like fish, something dripping off the curtains, dirty floor, check in and check out staff was rude, unprofessional and argumentative. NEVER again will I stay here. VERY disappointed Best Western.

    « Enjoyable stay »

The hotel itself is great. It's a typical casino hotel that comes with a smokey lobby but the rooms themselves were great. It seems like they had recently been renovated as the bathroom was nice and modern. The beds were comfortable too. The staff were all friendly and for the price we paid, it served it's purpose. We stayed at the hotel simply to visit Lake Tahoe, and that worked out well. We had no desire to use the casino, although my kids did spend about an hour or so in the kids entertainment section and we all had fun. So for us, it all worked out well.

    « Disappointing »

This is a casino Best Western and was a complete disappointment. The advertised rate was $49 and although everyone knows that's untrue we were tired and ready to stop so we thought we'd check it out. After getting the real rate we asked for the Harley discount, she told us there was not one. This was the 4th BW we had stayed in over 2 weeks and the only one that didn't give us a rider discount. We asked if they had a pool & hottub, she said yes and even showed us a picture of the pool. Whoever took the photo should be paid well cause it looked fantastic the real thing however was a huge let down and the hottub well it was down the road in the campground! Not wanting to get back on the bikes for supper at checkin they told us there were 4 resturants on site. The Buffet & deli were not open, the steakhouse was overpriced with a little to upscale attitude, that left us the 50's themed diner. They gave us several coupons however none of them seem to be usable, everything was down or closed. Don't give me something I can't use when you know I'm only there one night. Our friends found a roach in their room and the casino itself seemed old and dingy. All in all this hotel was at the bottom of our list when ranking all 15 hotels on our 2 week journey. Don't let the outside fool you it looked interesting but was a total scam, keep on moving down the road.

Location was great for visiting Tahoe, Truckee and Reno. Prices is great compared to the prices in Tahoe. Our complaints are; found a bunch of hairs under the foot of the bed drape; request of extra towels and pillow type weren't honored; pillows were high and uncomfortable; main floor where restaurants, children's arcade, elevators and gift shop are also located, were smoked filled from the casino.

    « Horrible service »

The staff was unfriendly especially in the Boomtown kids gaming area. The staff in the kids gaming area were younger and acted like it was an inconvenience to attend to the rides. I had issues with my bill. I am a Best Western rewards member and I had a $25 gift card. The women that checked me in was rude and said it was going to be taken off. When I checked out I asked the front desk if it had been taken off and they reported that it would be. When I checked back a couple days later my deposit and $25 was not back in my account. When I called they said that it had not been taken off. The rooms were good.

    « BW Being Wonderful »

I spent five days with a car club and was spoiled by Best Western. Not only were the hotel staff very friendly and accommodating, the front desk went above and beyond to change my room when my wife and son came into town midweek. Don't confuse the hotel with the casino, they are in no way related. BW only handles the hotel part of it. Don't get me wrong, the casino was great as well. Just don't blame BW if your burger didn't hit the spot at Mel's Diner. Now if your pillow isn't quite hitting the spot, just call the front desk and I'm sure someone will handle it ASAP. I am not a gambler, but if I had to stay in the Reno area again, I would certainly call on Boomtown.

« Keep driving until you get to Circus Circus if you're looking for a kid friendly stay in Reno. »

For a hotel/ casino that is kind of geared towards kids and family I was disappointed. We booked a room that was a "pool view"room. The pool is an indoor pool and the room looked right into the pool room which was as you can imagine very loud in our room and the smell of chlorine was overwhelming everything around us. There was no outdoor view or window to let fresh air in. Check in was strictly at 4 pm. We were told at about 830 the fun room for kids was allay closed for the night and would reopen at 9 the next morning. In the morning we packed our things and headed for the kids room which was still not open at 930. We were then told it wouldn't be open until around 10. So we went for breakfast at Mel's and then went back around 1015. The wrist bands they sell for rides that we got after checking in the night before weren't good for the next morning so we spent more money so the kids could play the arcade games and have a few mins of fun. We quickly trade our winnings in for a ball that should have lit up and leave the kids room. We get back to our room at exactly 11am and our key won't open the door. So we had to seems my hubby back down to the desk to wait in line again to get a new key because they automatically lock everyone out at 11 o'clock on the freaking dot! (Like maybe a 10 or 20 minute leeway would be helpful in a hotel that is meant to accommodate families with small children and aren't always early or exactly on time because things happen like an impromptu trip to the bathroom because your small child can't possibly hold it). As we are leaving it is pointed out to me by my 7 year old that the ball they were just given not 15 mins ago wasn't lighting up the way it should. So I went back to the counter in the playroom to see of I could get a working toy for my 2 and 7 year old. She said that she could not exchange it as I had already purchased it ans since they could not prove that I was not the one who broke it and there is a sign that says no exchanges or refunds. Needless to say we left with sad faces and a bad taste in our mouth. Oh and last but not least, there were long black hairs on the towel I uses to dry my 2 year old with after having a bath. Ewww

The hotel rooms are extremely nice. The bed is most comfortable and the linens are soft and all feel new. The furniture and carpet throughout the hotel and casino is new and pleasing. If you like to gamble but don't like the loud noises and drunken crowds of Vegas, Reno is your town. The vast majority of tourist are 60 and over. I have seen young families too. This hotel has a nice arcade for kids and two pools, indoor and out. Several eating options on the property, which is very nice. Mel's dinner is so fun, with a Jukebox at every booth. Food was delicious. I had a Cobb salad that was one of the best I've ever had.

    « Exceeded Expectations »

When booking a casino room I'm always a bit leery. Staff can be churlish, rooms are either boom or bust and the overall experience can be disheartening. Because of a last minute change of plans, I booked Boomtown very short notice. I was very happy with almost every aspect of the stay. The staff at check-in was short-handed and very curt, almost to the point of rudeness. That was, however, the only negative during the rest of the stay. The room was clean & bright, the beds comfortable and there wasn't a trace of cigarette smoke.

I was very impressed with the rooms and customer service! We had ZERO complaints. The hotel manager went out of her way to insure a terrific stay! We will be back to visit soon! It's about a $18-20 uber ride to downtown Reo

Expected room to be maintained better. It wasn't cleaned until after 5 pm. Consistently disappointed in Mel's diner. Not good quality food. They need to clean their grill more often. We mostly ate at outside restaurants.

« Nice place to stay »

Our room was very clean. We had 3 guests and there were only 2 bath towels in the room, but housekeeping immediately brought 3 more big clean towels. Staff are great. Fun casino! Out of main Reno, but not that far to go if you want to. Food in hotel diner was average. Right next to Cabela's, so that was definitely a perk!

We enjoy staying at Best Western Boomtown Casino Hotel !!! Small, friendly, clean, very quiet, good foods. Located away from the crowds and traffic. The mountains are very scenic. I said it all, nothing else to add. Perfect !

My wife and I enjoyed our midweek stay at Boom Town very much and will stay there again in June. We like the new decor of the rooms and hotel lobby. The complementary bottled water was very nice and the coffee in the morning also very thoughtful.

I enjoyed the hospitality of the housekeepers, they were always so cordial, respectful, and pleasant. The rooms are clean, however, the hotel could use a jacuzzi with the indoor pool for parents to lounge and relax, while watching their children.

« Great place to stay by Reno »

Everything about Boomtown was great. Nice staff on the phone and at check in. Buffet dinner was great, also nice waitress. Breakfast at Mel's was good too. Very nice young waitress. Outside appearance is clean and well kept. Our room was fresh with new fabrics, comfy bed and nice view of hill side. Perfect stay.

Rooms could be updated. Furniture old, wallpaper peeling. Tub dirty. Tv small, fridge froze everything. But we were comfortable and it was a busy weekend, casino was great, food good, will return again

The hotel was awesome! We checked in, unpacked our bags in the South Tower room. Checked out the awesome indoor pool thru the window! Got real comfortable watching the SF Giants game then headed to Mel's Dinner that the hotel suggested to a great steak and eggs. Then back to the room! The rooms were immaculate and clean the decor is very soothing! You will not be disappointed!

« Visiting my parents in Reno »

My parents live in Florida, but at least once a year they like to go to Reno. So when they do we always meet up at Boomtown. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The staff is helpful and friendly. I love the indoor pool that was recently redone. They have a kids center, casino and entertainment. The buffet offers all you can eat lobster.

« No communication with front desk »

Stayed in room 5211, at 5:30 the next morning heard a beep like coming from a smoke alarm. beeped every five minutes for 90 minutes. At approx. 7:30 am hammering and pounding from the room next to me started and continued till 3 pm. At 1 pm started to take a shower but the water was shut off. I called the front desk and was informed that the water will come back at 3 pm. However it took another 25 minutes for the water to get warm. The next morning it started again at 7:00. As I walked by I could see they were remodeling, obviously the front desk was not informed of this. That room should not have been assigned since at least half the hotel was empty. I was so upset and disappointed I checked out!

    « Not for disabled »

Reservation made four months in advance for handicap accessible room with roll in shower. Arrived mid afternoon and advised that room was not ready. About 45 minutes before ready for occupancy. No problem. Went for early dinner at cafe. When trying to check in we were advised that rooms with roll in shower were not available. After talking to various levels of supervision we ended up with an accessible room, no roll in shower, at a reduced nightly rate. Money not an issue; first night of a three week road trip with no shower in the morning, is. DO NOT STAY HERE.

« WORST HOTEL STAY EVER »

The hotel parking lot was under construction and dispayed a sign saying no oversized vehicles allowed. As we were towing an empty, small ten foot flatbed trailer we were not allowed in. The security guard was extremely rude. We had to park across the street at a convenience store and walk back about 1/4 mile to the hotel through the messy construction in 40 degree and windy conditions carrying suitcases, etc., not easy for two senior citizens following a hard travel day. Irritating enough to be turned away, but when we booked our reservaton earlier that day we specifcally asked if we would have parking for the trailer and were assured there would be no problem. There was a lengthy delay at the registration desk even though we were the only ones checking in. We told the clerk about the rude guard and she directed us to the Customer Service desk, adding that this was the second complaint about him that week. In the hallway to our room several of the housekeeping staff were congretated talking, with their service cart blocking the entire hall. They did not move the cart and we had to push it aside ourselves in order to get by. After settling into the room we tried to report the rude guard, but HE was the one manning the Customer Service desk at the time! The room itself was nice, but we shall never return.

Best Western is making great changes to the ole boomtown casino and resort. The rooms are great, each with a fridge and microwave and coffee pot. The pool is open now and the fitness center is pretty good. The employees seem happy and are very curteous. I will go back.

    « Boomtown resort »

Hotel amenities good - comfortable cozy rooms - clean n well arranged. Hotel staff competent and friendly. Restaurant Mel's is found to be less accommodating and unwilling to to provide substitutes when they run out of a menu item (no steak for the breakfast of steak and eggs)

    2
« Resort Fee Ripoff. No a resort hotel; no value. »

Cons: Book a resort if you are willing to pay a "resort fee". No value to fee. Typical Best Western hotel started in an old casino. Promised to remove resort fee but no not remove. Valet and bell service needs more people, huge place and they do not allow guest to use carts if they of understaffed. Suggest more staff, or more carts. Bad for ADA person like us. Pros: clean room, nice staff.

« Best Western has gone down hill... »

What should have been a great experience ended up being something that left a bad taste in my mouth. The fitting conclusion was that no Bill was presented, so I had to go down to the desk to check out. I called for the bellman, and the phone rang and rang. When I got to the desk at 7:15 a.m. I found out that the valet/ bellman wasn't supposed to arrive until 7:30 a.m. He actually arrived at 7:45 a.m. I had previously reported that my tip for the maid had been taken, but the room had not been made up. I was the second person in our delegation to have this happen to them. Others in our delegation had their doors knocked on, or their doors tried to be opened after 2:00 a.m. on multiple nights. I have to say that this was the worst experience we've had in more than 30 years of Disabled American Veterans state conventions in Nevada.

« Neat place to stay »

Our room was clean. Bathroom was clean too. Although, it was a little bit disappointing since the tub drain was clogged. We didn't bother calling housekeeping since we only stayed for one night. The pillows were fluffy.

    « handicap excessibility »

When you pull up to the "Hotel entrance" there is an extreamly long walk to the building let alone into where they have the lobby for check in. Now I realize that this is also a casino but if they want more business from handicapped individiuals, something will have to be done. The staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and very confortable, so it is a good facility to use as long as you don't need help getting from the parking to your room.

« Cleanest rooms I ever stayed in. »

Nice clean rooms and very helpful staff. Beds and pillow's are really comfortable, everything you need is right there in the room except food of course, Mini fridge, microwave, safe all the good stuff. Good eats down stairs, they have a lobster buffet, Mel's dinner and a deli + there is a Pete's coffee there with very friendly employees. Great place to stay.

    « Boomtown »

Good hotel. A little out of the way but didn't mind the drive. Traffic was fine during our time at the hotel. We were able to find a parking spot behind the hotel that was close to the elevator. I could do without the cigarette smoke that comes from the casino.

    « Very nice stay »

The room was clean and nicely appointed. The bed was very comfortable. The room had a microwave and a refrigerator and a coffee machine. Very nice if you're staying with kids. I would most definitely recommend this hotel.

« Good Place to Stay »

I stayed 5 nights and found the room very good for the price. The staff was very polite and helpful. The room was reasonably priced, it's diner (Mel's) has a very good menu to choose from for casual dinning, and the room was large and nicely furnished. The only negative is a warning about purchasing from the soda machine located on each floor, which does not have prices listed that I could see. I used my bank card to purchase a Coke and discovered later it was $5 for the soda. I would definitely stay there on my next visit to Reno.

    « Reinvented Boomtown »

We were just in the area for one night and have had good experiences with Best Western. The rooms were clean, comfortable and the beds were great. You do have to walk through the entire casino with your luggage to get to the hotel elevators. Only suggestion is to take a nite light for the bathroom. The bathroom door is a fire door and pitch black at night. We would stay there again.

« Good place to stay »

We haven't stayed at Boomtown in almost 30 years and were pleasantly surprised. The price was very reasonable during the middle of the week, the room was clean, all of the linens were very nice and it was quiet. I do not like to stay in hotels because I generally do not sleep well but I got a very good nights sleep here.

« My place to stay when in Reno »

Great in door pool with a small gym next to it. They have free wifi for staying guests. The wifi worked okay but wished it was more faster. I get to eat the lobster buffet here. The kids get play in the pool, even during the cold weather season. The pool water felt warm enough. There is a bar in the hotel/casino where I can get my drink on for the cheap and listen live band. Domestic beer was $2.75 a pop. The only down side is that this casino a little ways from the other casinos in the downtown area so you can't go casino hopping if you want to. Other than that, I enjoyed my stay. Bed was super comfy.

    « Howling night »

my daughter and I stayed with my parents for 2 nights for Easter wknd, which was supposed to be a nice enjoyable time with my parents for Easter time since we hadn't seen them in over a year turned into a very tiring and disturbing night of no sleep for any of us. i know a casino will have its times for noise of ppl enjoying staying up late gambling and drinking..but a small (you cant tell of the howling as we are animal ppl) dog stuck inside and crying (howling) all night left alone and left for us and anyone else trying to sleep in middle o the night was terrible. I did tell the front desk, but guess someone must of told neighbors cause front desk must of not been able to find the owners cuz the 2nd night of sleep was the same. my parents are in their late 70's and was difficult for them to have a decent sleep that last night as well as my daughter .... not a good wknd. sorry to say. i even asked if we could get moved or upgraded to get away from it, was told would had someone come talk to us ... but nothing. shame.

    « Dated but fun »

Nice place to stay if you are a skier but don't want to pay Tahoe prices. Hotel is dated inside and smells like smoke everywhere. But there is a bar, gambling, and a very good steak house. Rooms need updating and carpet in hallways need replacing. Overall a good value for the price.

    « Very dissapointed »

I have stayed here before a few times, this was very disappointing, construction noise, room was not real clean, bathtub didn't drain, was asked to be in the other tower when checked in and clerk brushed it off with a lame excuse. I always like coming here but don't think I'll stay here again when I can stay in other beautiful Casinos nearby for free. This trip was very disappointing.

« Ran away to visit friends!! »

This time we got the 4th floor on the North Tower, above the casino. Our view was some snowy mountain in the distance, roof of casino with exhaust fans that are aways running, the front entrance and parking lot. Room was clean and comfortable. Not as dark as I would have liked. Gap between door and wall let alot of light in. The curtains didn't close all the way.. a little space.. no exhaust fan or window in bathroom. Room has coffee, water, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, body soap, cleansing soap, pen, pad. I would stay there again but I liked the south side better.. It has the indoor pool and exercise room.

« Family Friendly Well Run Casino Hotel »

Our family of 4 stayed at Boomtown for one night this weekend. We planned to go skiing the next day and wanted a place with an indoor pool for the kids. Our kids had a great time using the indoor pool and Mel's Diner served reasonably priced, satisfying dinner plates. There is a Fun Center for kids next to Mel's Diner too but we did not have time to check it out. The phone staff were friendly and helpful when I called to ask about the difference between the North and South Towers (older wing with remodeled rooms) and to request a room within easy walking distance to the pool (we had a room 10 steps from the pool and noise was not a problem because of the sound proof doors). Our room was clean and comfortable we were happy. When I got home the next evening I could not find my laptop. Oh no! I must have forgotten to pack it up. I called the operator and was told I could file a lost and found report on line. She also directed me to security. I spoke with Kyle, the on duty security manager who was totally understanding. He said although no one turned in a laptop that day, the room may not have been cleaned yet and he could check and see if it is still in my room where I last remembered seeing it next to the TV. After 10 minutes, he called back and let me know he FOUND my laptop and a draft of a book my 10 year old wrote (I was going to edit his book on my laptop). Kyle is my hero. I was sooooo happy that he helped me out and found it. I filed a report on their website noting that I spoke to Kyle and am hoping my laptop can be shipped to me asap. I would definitely stay here again and will let friends know my positive interactions with the Boomtown staff.

No one working there wanted to be there so guests were last priority. Rooms were not stocked each day with all the amenities. When trying to find a manager no one knew how to reach him, her, or how to get in touch with them. Most every staff person we came face to face with was frowning and as little help as could be, like we were bothering them.

    « Ehhh »

Seeing so many give this hotel a very good and excellent rating makes me wonder about our experience. Check in is at 4, yet when we got here at 7:30 we were told that there were no room ready, as in clean and that we would have to wait 45 minutes to get into a room. Really? We reserved and paid in advance a room with a balcony. We were finally given a room that was right by an elevator and no balcony, not even a view. Did they offer us compensation? No. They said they would put us in a smoking optional room. Seriously? Finally, just as we were about to leave, they offer us a 10 percent discount on the room and 25 dollar food voucher. The carpet is stained and so is the comforter. The buffet was not very well kept up and cleaned. Hometown buffet would have a better rating.

« Great place to stay! »

I was in the Reno area on business and, being a Best Western rewards member, checked the rates on the Best Western app. I was extremely happy to find the rates as low or lower than most of the hotels in the area. While the hotel was about 20 minutes west of downtown Reno, it was very accessible and easy to find. The hotel was very clean and comfortable and the staff was exceptional. I ate one meal, at Mel's and had a few drinks at one of the bars and was satisfied with both. I'm not a gambler, so I can't say much about the gaming, but it seemed like they had a wide variety of slots and table games. Overall I was very happy with my stay.

    3
    « Old fashion value »

The best word to describe it all is "average". Nothing amazing, not too expensive and fairly friendly staff. It's a good place to rest your head but I definitely wouldn't go here if I wanted to really relax or impress. Bathrooms could be cleaned and updated more, rooms and hallways have a mild unexplainable odor, but nothing too severe. There are a number of fun things to do in Boomtown so do some research, our kids had a blast (ages 5 and 8). If you get the room for free because you are a casino card holder, you are golden.

    5

« On way to Hawaii close to Airport »

Very close to airport, good buffet . I also have a points card from Best Western hotels, and have stayed in other locations such as Santa Barbara, California, USA. Beautiful layout, I used to stay here with our motor home, had good food, sorry this time missed the entertainment due to short time before taking our trip to Honolulu, Hawaii. Did some gambling with the machines, also liked that the atmosphere was not smokey. If you come from California or just live in Nevada, check out this place.

    « Sunday & Monday Difference »

The hotel is updated and country chic. We did not get help with Valet/Bell Service in the rain, after 10 minutes, calling and walking to front desk. With a lady before us and an elderly gentleman after us, we carried it all up ourselves (they would not let us use a cart). The restaurant choices are great, however, on Monday night there is only ONE choice (Mel's Diner) which would be perfectly fine if the grill wasn't closed for maintenance so choices extremely limited. BlackJack gambling was fun, but again, on Monday night we wanted to play, 2 tables only and they were full, so we decided to go to dinner and our choices were extremely limited. We did get to play after dinner. I heard they had a tournament Saturday night and the place was hopping. So it really does depend on the night of the week and time of year. We had a 2 bedroom suite, the decor was great, the bed mattresses need REPLACED. I did report this to the front desk. The couch was comfortable, all amenities were good, room was in desperate need of a "deep" cleaning (pizza sauce on ice bucket, very dirty under chair when we moved it to play a game) etc... I will definitely be back as overall it was very relaxing when needed, we made it fun considering it was off-season.The pool was closed as well for maintenance. At one point hubby wanted to place a bet at Sports counter, but the man said he would "be right back." We waited 8-10 minutes and went back later. Most employees were very helpful, including in the gift shop. Casino's are not usually so lackadaisical, but yet in this particular 2 days with rain , it was okay.

« Average boom in Boomtown »

This was our first stay at the Best Western in Boomtown. Check-in was a breeze and the front desk was most cordial and helpful. Our room was on the 5th floor in the North Tower. Our view overlooked the back parking lot and mtns. It wasn't overly exciting, but it wasn't a bad view. If you happen to stay in the North Tower, I would suggest a room on the 4th floor or higher otherwise you will have a view of a concrete wall or any and all units on the rooftop. As we did not stay in the South Tower, I cannot comment on the view from those rooms but I would imagine it would be of the mtns to the west of the hotel. The room itself was quite nice; spacious, clean and quite a few amenities (mini fridge, microwave, coffee pot, safe etc..). The bathroom was also quite spacious. The beds were quite comfortable. For the price you pay, you aren't going to find your 5 star rooms at this hotel but, for those of us who enjoy a nice budget friendly clean hotel room then this is as good of a place to stay at. As we stayed during a fairly quiet time of the week, I can't vouch for the noise level in the rooms (do you hear the upstairs or side neighbors etc..). Our room was about halfway down the hallway and we were able to hear the elevator chime when someone used it from our floor. So maybe a room at the end of the hallway might be a room to get. The Casino itself was nice but we were a little put off by the fact that a lot of the eating establishments were closed. The steakhouse and Mexican restaurants never opened. We ended up getting a pizza at the pizza deli place. Good pizza...lousy grab & go salads. Mel's diner was open but we didn't eat there. Check-out was a different story. We went to check out and they could not find our reservation. After some searching they said we were already checked out. Kind of scary since we were still able to use our room keys. I made sure that I got a copy of the receipt and I went over it with the desk person to make sure of all the charges. Once home, I noticed my charge card was billed for 2 different amounts so I had to dispute the 2nd charge. It was taken care of quickly.

« Do You Like Sleeping in a Used Ashtray? »

The overwhelming smell of stale cigarette smoke made our stay miserable. The ventilation system brings the smoke up from the casino patrons, into the rooms. There is nowhere to escape the smell. Not even with a fresh batch of Peet's coffee brewing, could compete with the stale smoke. All of our clothes smelled like cigarette smoke after we left. It's not like there's an abundance of players in the casino, even on a Friday night when we stayed. When we complained at the front desk, it was as if we offending the staff. We will not stay here again.

    « Not very friendly »

Stopped on my way through Reno on Business. Needed reservations for October, my wife's birthday...asked to see the South Tower and a North Tower example of a room, since we will be meeting her Family at the Camp Village this would be the most convenient location for us to stay...Front desk was busy I waited for 30 min. before asking again if this could happen, it seemed apparent this wasn't going over well. My wife's special weekend and Lobster Buffet might not happen at Boomtown. after 45min of waiting I needed to get back on the road. What seemed like easy while in town, look it over opportunity just wasn't. Come on Best Western you have always been dependable and the go-to accommodation's... Sorry maybe next time you'll have time.

OK - staff was friendly and tried their best to cover for all the things that went wrong--no sheet on the bed, TV didnt work, ice bucket soiled, etc. Checkin and checkout were bad - inaccurate, late, delayed, multiple efforts needed to check in! But the staff was nice about it, and it seemed they cared about how bad things were going for us

First time to Boomtown. Stayed because my companions are Cabella's fans, and the hotel advertised a 30,000 sq. ft. Arcade/Fun Center. The Fun Center didn't work out so well, but Cabella's was great. The indoor pool was closed, but the outdoor pool at the KOA campground was open - I was told it wasn't convenient, but it was fun! Rooms were clean, bed was comfortable, free wi-fi that didn't seem to limit the number of devices, I like that!

This hotel has the rudest, most unprofessional customer service I have experienced. They overcharge extra days and hang up the phone when confronted with this information. I would recommend to avoid staying at this hotel. CHECK YOUR CREDIT CARD STATEMENT afterwards, if you do choose to stay at this hotel. The food was awful(Fri-Sun lobster buffet). Everything was overcooked and came with what seemed to be all frozen entrees, nothing fresh.

The room was small but nice. The room was quite and not much outside light came in.. was darker then most motel rooms .. which we need to sleep. The bed was very comfortable.. a seta presidential. I looked since we need a new bed and it was that comfortable. We had the best nights sleep. The only window went to the indoor swimming pool.. which unfortunately was closed while we were there.. bummer.. I so wanted to go swimming. The room had coffe, frig, hair dryer, micawave, and sosp, shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion.. we will defentally go back.

    « A great room at a good price »

A good place to stay for a good price. A room with a king sized bed cost about $60.00 per night. Which I would consider a very reasonable rate. The room was very clean and everything was is very good working order. Also, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The location, right off of highway 80 is great. Many popular destination are an easy drive from here And of course my favorite thing about this location is the all you can eat lobster buffet. It is the only one that I know of. Love it..

« Avoid (especially weekends) Unless You Gamble »

When we arrived, check-in was slow and interrupted by a guest who had another guest walk into her room as they apparently double-booked it.Parking lot near hotel entrance was full so we had to use another lot further away. Room was very far from the elevator. They desperately need another elevator. Room was okay although we were surrounded by smokers on a non-smoking floor. We wanted to use the pool and it was closed for repairs. We got different answers on whether the gym was open. There is very ;little to recommend this hotel if you don't gamble. Rates seem to double or triple on weekends so it would be a good value Monday-Thursday. Also, wifi was actually quite fast.

I stayed at the Boomtown hotel with my mother, disabled aunt and uncle for 1 night. We got in very late and it was a spur of the moment thing as we had issues at the camp ground next door, which we were planning to stay at. The room was $200 a night and I felt extremely over priced for the facility. The rooms were OK, but nothing about this place is very friendly to people who are disabled, can not walk far, etc. My aunt needed a wheel chair to get to her room and one could not be provided for her when we checked in. She had a very tough time getting to her room in the south tower...or maybe it was the north tower. I don't know. We were far apart, as we got in late and apparently got the last two rooms. The air in the casino gave me an instant migraine with all the stale cigarette smoke. That's the most disgusting smell ever. Even going to get a Peet's coffee induced a migraine as it was right there amongst the stench of the casino. It would be nice if this place was separate and those of us who don't wish to get lung cancer, could get a coffee in peace. The desk lady (a younger, native-american lady) was friendly (who checked us in) but the one who checked us out (and older white lady) was so rude. You could tell she wanted to be anywhere else in the world! Wish I had their names, but I probably wouldn't call them out on here anyway. We needed a cart to bring all our luggage up and they are not available in the lobby. You have to wait in the lobby and the front desk will have a bell man come and get you. Which just means you are obligated to shell out more money for a tip, for something you may be happy to do for yourself. I hate when hotels do this! I will probably never be in the Reno area ever again, but if I am, I will more than likely not endeavor to stay at this property.

    « Bad room experience »

After checking in at nearly midnight to a over talkative clerk to have him put us in a room 2 miles away from the parking lot only to get a room to have our keys not work because it was ALREADY OCCUPIED! After getting another room in south tower 40 we get in to a broken refrigerator and some one else In & Out soda container on the dresser....NOT COOL!

    « Disappointed »

The staff at the front counter were not welcoming - no smiles, nothing. The lady that helped us was borderline rude. The room was in poor shape, we booked a suite, and for the price I expected more. Housekeeping was poor - we had several housekeeping issues. Best Western has just taken over, so hopefully we will see improvements. The lobby is remodeled and looked good.

    « Great stay! »

Although small this casino is packed with a great stay. Multiple places to eat, and good variety of games to play. Great kids arcade too. Only drawn back was there weren't enough table games. No let it ride game (which I prefer to play). Only one 3 card poker table (that was too packed to play).

« The Price is Right, Housekeeping is far from adequate..... »

I must state that our room was complimentary, so the Price was Right. The Bathroom in our Room was Not cleaned before or during our two day stay except on the evening of the second day when we called House Keeping to come and at least clean the toilet that had been filthy since our arrival. The Sink and Tub were Never Cleaned during our stay. We had to request Bath towels the second day as well. The Room Cleaner had no problem finding the $5 Tip on the Bed Pillow, but still ignored the Toilet, with the seat open to highlight the problem. We have stayed in these North Tower Rooms for years and Never experienced any thing like this. We hope that things aren't changing under the Best Western Brand. We enjoyed a Nice Dinner in "The Steak House", both the Food and Service were Very Acceptable. The prices are a little high for the atmosphere but overall a Good experience.

« Great value, great staff »

This hotel presents a great value for this area. Rooms are generally spacious and functional. Refrigerators and shower heads leave a bit to be desired, but staff service is excellent. On site dining options are very helpful, especially for extended stays.

« Oasis in the desert »

We thought we were staying in downtown Reno but this turned out to be an exceedingly sweet deal. It was inexpensive for the amenities and accommodations. The rooms are well appointed, quiet, and very comfortable. The staff throughout were very friendly and helpful. The best deal was the $3.99 BBQ buffet that had much more than BBQ!! Great food and plenty of it. Don't miss an opportunity to take advantage of this oasis!!!!

« Love their suites.... So big ii almost got lost. »

I have stayed at boomtown many times they have reasonable rates if you have a players club card. The rooms are nice. Better than circus circus rooms. We just stayed there for my wedding anniversary so I upgraded to a suite. The room was huge with a bar and a outside area, a jacuzzi tub and a separate bedroom. The cocktail servers on the gaming floor are very good. I didn't wait to long for a drink. Boomtown has a great kids area with great prices. Boomtown is great if you use your players card lots of bonuses.

« Best Western Plus Boomtown Casino Hotel »

Great hotel with good amenities including mini microwave and refrigerator. Clean room with free internet service. We appreciated the referral to the pool and the spa at the adjacent KOA Campground, great pool and spa! Mel's Dinner has awesome food and it's open 24 hours!

« Blues Festival and KOA »

Attended the 1st annual Blues Festival held at Boomtown. The lineup and sound was pretty good but the layout could have been better. Took the RV and stayed at the adjacent KOA. The casino provided a shuttle and they were pretty quick. Although the reviews were average, we had to try the all you can eat lobster buffet. Will not eat there again as the quality was average to poor. We should have eaten at the steakhouse because with the 20% steakhouse discount, the price would have been about the same or less.

« These rooms are remodeled! »

I had to change rooms 3 times which took 4 hours. Rooms were adequate for the price, but sorely out of date. Rooms were not too clean, bathtub faucet could hardly be turned and cracked tiles abounded. The lighting was minimal. The 2nd room had a horrible odor which was unacceptable. Their special Thursday B-B-Q buffet was fine for the price, but nothing spectacular. It took them over 5 mins. to find my room registration, so I could do a room charge. It also took 45 mins. in line before getting a seat. Definitely not worth the wait time! Mels dinner was just ok and they did not have the ability to do a room charge, which was frustrating. I checked out by phone from my room, and it took 3 phone calls and 4 days to get my emailed bill, which ended up being higher than the original reservation confirmation total that was emailed promptly when I booked the room. I stayed 4 nights with very little sleep, since rooms/hallways were very noisy plus freeway traffic noise. Do not stay at this hotel if you are a light sleeper!

    « No way »

Stayed Friday and Saturday...arriving Friday evening the room air conditioner was broken and the girl at the desk said there was no other rooms available which was bull because people were calling from out of town and the girl was booking rooms.she told us to check with the manager Saturday morning to see if we could get another room.We had a horrible night,it was hot in that room. The next morning the.manager said sure we can move yall, bunch of bull. The buffet is so seriously over priced there wasn't enough food on the bar to be charging that kind of money..sad......the casino where a.hand full of people won from a 100 to 180 but as I said a hand full..the.rest nothing....these casino want people to come but they do not want to take care of you,I wouldn't recommend this casino hotel to anyone. To close to being a rip off for.me for the value of your money..Sorry I've stayed at many casinos for.concerts and for fun but this one is crossed off my.list......

    « Good quick stay »

After you get through the smokey casino and to your room- worth every penny. Very clean room, this is now a Best Western run place. Seems like rooms have been redone. Its outside of downtown but will for sure stay here again.

    « Nice casino »

Had lots of games to pick from and was comfortable not overcrowded or smokey. Parking is fairly easy and you can get close to the door. They offer both a restaurant and a hotel for longer stays. Overall felt the drink service was quick and about the fight frequency. Will go back

    « Amazing »

The room I had was amazing and it was like staying in a 5 Star hotel, bed was truly soft fell right to sleep. AC working in hot weather outside. Flat screen TV, beautiful shower with sliding glass doors and amazing shower head like a spa. Did not want to check out felt like paradise.

« Only the band was the highlight »

Had a supposedly newly remodeled room. The door jam didn't close all the way so people could look in from the hallway and there was a hole in the bathroom ceiling. Mel's was closed for cleaning so no food at night accept limited menu of the only hot choice was chili and it was cold and gross we had to get a refund. 8hrs of gambling I had to get up and find a cocktail waitress. But the highlight of the night was the band. They recognized me from my hometown and they were awesome and friendly! I was put on thier Facebook. Great people. I trued to reach Mike several times from the mod ofc about a return trip to this day after several messages no return call. I don't feel they care about thier players or guests really. But because the band was so awesome I rated it higher than I should of.
