room was dark and stuffy. Carpet is old and torn, rooms are clean. Breakfast is okay. Staff is awesome. The hotel is in a good location, it is easy to get to town without getting on the highway. The pool is down for maintenance at the time of this writing

Our room was on the second floor and the stairs were outside of the building. There were numerous trips up and down the stairs and then again for breakfast so be fit and welcome the climb or request a ground floor room in advance. Breakfast was a good way to start the next day's journey! The room was quiet too so the sleep was refreshing.

I always appreciate the free breakfast in the morning. Good way to start the day. Breakfast room was clean and well maintained. I had a few questions when checking in after a very long drive. GM was very friendly and helpful.

I stayed here in August and I am so glad I did. The Surestay in Salmon arm ticked off all of the boxes for me. The staff were great, the room was clean and the breakfast actually tasted good. The bed was really comfortable as well. The only issue people might find is the trains. The place is right beside the tracks so if you are sensitive to sound this might bother you. I packed earplugs and didn't find it to be a big issue. Bonus also if you are planning on going to the water park, it is right beside so you can enjoy that as well. There was also a Starbucks in the parking lot next so that was nice as well. Altogether, we will definitely come back. For the price and everything included, it cant be beat.

Stayed one night at July end at $190+ which is considered expensive given the quality of the stay. Actually it should be named as a Motel instead of Hotel because it is a 2-storey old hotel with cars parking at the door entrance of each room. I was assigned a room at the ground floor and when I entered into the room, some bugs followed in. At first I blamed myself bringing in the insects but soon I realized that there were already a few inside the room : 2 flies, several mosquitoes and a big flying object. Immediately I understand that bugs can easily get into the room every time the door is opened. The air-conditioning is noisy and at night I can hear the noise from upstairs (footsteps and toilet flush). With the bugs and noises, I couldn't have a good sleep. The floor is dirty. After just a few minutes, the soles of my slippers turned from white to black. The breakfast can be ignored. Just don't understand why it is rated No. 3 hotel in Salmon Arm.

I was pleasantly surprised at this hotel. It's rated a 2 star but felt much more then that. They have a nice pool, and the rooms are very clean and spacious. The breakfast offered a variety snd I would definitely stay again!

We stayed overnight at the SureStay Plus Hotel by Best Western in Salmon Arm, BC on our way from Banff National Park to Vancouver BC. A comfortable, friendly hotel. Good nearby restaurants. Close to the Okanagan Valley, so we were able to visit there as well. We recommend it!

My stay was 10 days and here is my review. I was gone during the daytime, so my stay was from the evening to morning. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. It has a separate pool and hot tub area for guests. Close to restaurants, malls, gas stations, water slide and easy access to the highway. My only disappointment was the breakfast every morning from 7-10am. I normally arrived for breakfast between 7-7:30 am and it was always a hit and miss with what choices you had to eat. One morning the pancake fryer wasn't working, another day, the cereal holder choices were sometimes empty which wasn't good for the children. There was little to no choices for yogurt with some morning nothing being available at all and one morning there was no eggs. What's a breakfast without eggs? When guests ask if eggs was available, the response was, someone forgot to order eggs. So there you have it, because of the inconsistent daily breakfast choices, I could not score the hotel better than average,

Great place to stay on your way to anywhere. Love having a Mr. Mike's next door and now a Starbucks next door. Service is great and rooms are always clean. We travel alot on our bikes and being able to park out front of our room, makes us feel our bikes are safe.

Absolutely Great room, bathroom fan sounded like a jet engine when switched on. My elder children said I could not have picked a better place to stal, pool, steak house and liquor store with in 75 steps. There were eleven of us in five rooms and there was something that appealed to everyone and the free breakfast appealed to all.

I stay here a lot while visiting Salmon Arm. Mr Mike's a pub and Starbucks are beside the hotel. It is also beside the water slides. Clean and quiet rooms. The rooms are nice but not fancy. Staff are nice and helpful.

We wanted to take a quick trip getaway close to a lot of amenities, this hotel fit the bill. We arrived early and were allowed to check in as our room was ready.The from desk attendant [JIM] was friendly and professional, made us feel welcomed right away.

I had a very comfortable stay at this location. It is near railroad tracks but I heard no noise from trains. The room was clean and spacious and I enjoyed my stay. The lady at the front desk was very friendly

The SureStay in Salmon Arm is conveniently located off Highway 1 and within walking distance of stores and restaurants. Comfortable beds and spacious rooms. The continental breakfast was good with a decent variety. Price was reasonable.

had a shower, as pool and hot tub not available, stood in knee deep water, got out and it was all grunge and hair from other patrons, definitely not blonde hair like mine. Told housekeeping they cleaned tub, but the next day as we were staying 2 nights, hubby had shower and was knee deep in water yet again. asked for someone to look after it, but housekeeping gone for the day. No place to get clean, no pool, no hot tub, no shower/tub. Very very disappointed as all we were offered was to move to another room, which was an inconvenience as we had family plans and doctors appts. Had to deal with someone who finally got me a bit of a discount, really thoroughly disappointed this time as we have stayed many times before. Left premises and on checkout tried to tell mgr that tub was still full of dirty water.

If your looking to spend the weekend or just a place to stop for the night, this is it. Very quiet, clean and affordable. Great breakfast bar in the morning and nice indoor hot tub and pool to enjoy. Short walk to restaurants.

My ultimate favorite place to stay when traveling across Canada,. I always use to think "wow! what a super high end hotel it must be ridiculously expensive" but as it turns out, with the break fast deal and the points, it well worth the cost. with the points you can earn free room stays so its well worth staying. Best western in my experience is the best hotel chain in Canada

Our room was very clean and a good size. We were provided with in room coffee,microwave,and fridge. Also hot breakfast included in the main lobby. I was disappointed however to discover the pool and hot were closed due to covid19. Overall very good value for a very reasonable price.

Great service, clean hotel. They are dog friendly building for people staying there with their dogs. There is a pub next door and a Mr. Mikes for dinner which makes it easy to have a bite and a beer, and not have to drive back to the hotel :)

We travel back and forth between Vancouver and Radium a couple of times a year, and every year we use this hotel as our halfway stopover. It's just off the highway, but back far enough that you don't hear the traffic all night; it's comfortable, clean and, frankly, pretty cozy. Easy to check in and out, decent breakfast included in the stay and with a hot tub to relax in after a 5hr drive, I imagine we will continue to use it as our "Halfway Stop" whenever we're traveling through the area.

After a long tenuous winding trip from Calgary, this hotel was a perfect location for the tired travellers before home in Surrey. Unfortunately, there was no elevator for upstairs, so we were compelled to carry heavy baggage to the second floor suite. The most positive item in the hotel is warm cinnamon bun with melting butter for breakfast, so we enjoyed it. The receptionist was very kind and helpful when we arrived late at dark. Thank you.

This BW is in a very convenient location, close to Mr. Mikes, the Casino and Piccadilly Mall. Have stayed at this location several times, breakfast is always good, internet works really well. Fridge and microwave plus TV in room. Great beds.

After a drive that was filled with reduced speed limits, flag persons, and equipment, the check in was a welcoming change. We were well informed about the facility and a reminder of a major detour we would be encountering the next day. All very useful information. The room was nicely furnished and well equipped. Breakfast was a real treat with hot items along with a variety of other items. The checkout staff member was friendly, informative, and efficient. Simply put, we will stay there again.

It was a last minute trip and I had called in to book a reservation, the gentlemen that answered the phone was super nice and extremely helpful. Got into my room within couple minutes and the staff was really nice. Would definitely stay here again as I would be traveling to Salmon arm alot

This hotel is not a bad hotel for the money. We are used to Best Western hotels and this one is not one of them. The service is great, the place is clean, the breakfast was great and plentiful. It has an indoor pool that is well kept.

Very clean, friendly and quiet place to stay. My wife and I stay here twice every year on our way too and from visiting our daughter in Fairmont. Over the years we have tried other places and towns but this place is by far the best.

We were supposed to be tenting it but the smoke from the wildfires and the heat were too much. The room smelled a little bit musty but could be due to a number of things. Best Western saved our trip, otherwise we'd have travelled all the way back home. Staff at front desk were great!

As other reviews have stated the carpets need replacing. We have stayed here in the past when this was a Best Western. Now that it is flagged as a Sure Stay by Best Western the level seems to have dropped. The rooms are more dated and even the front desk clerk was in more casual attire than the previous visit. The stay was okay just be aware as an older location more dated rooms. Still okay however may have expected more but as a Sure Stay it is okay

The room was clean which is most important to us. Somewhat dated & carpet should be replaced however. The bathroom was very small with only the toilet & shower. Sink was outside the washroom. Bed & pillows were very comfortable & it was quiet at night. It's walking distance to a couple of restaurants so that was really convenient. We didn't use the pool or hot tub & didn't have breakfast so I can't review. Overall, if you need a clean, no frills place to stay, it should fit the bill. We'd stay again

The service was exceptional from the front desk lady and the lady doing cleaning the rooms was very pleasant. The room was very clean and the air conditioner was modern and quiet. I feel the breakfast was not set up as well as it could of been.

Quick one night stay. Room was good sized and well appointed with everything you needed. Good water pressure and hot water. Great, comfortable bed (including the pillows and I'm very picky! :) ) Room was very clean. Good room darkening curtains and quiet. Easy walking distance to all amenities. Did not get to try pool, so cannot comment. Breakfast was simple but adequate. Great value, we would definitely stay here again! Special mention to the front desk...I wish I could remember her name. It seemed they were short staffed...and everyone decided to check in at once...several checkins were "high maintenance" and demanded extra attention all while the phone rang non stop. She maintained her composure and was extremely friendly. Give this woman a raise! (Night of July 15th)

Overall, the best thing about our stay was the comfortable mattress. Other than that, the front desk staff wasn't welcoming. The worst part of our stay was the low quality breakfast that lacked any covid measures most reputable restaurants/ food establishments still have in place even though restrictions are lifting. Physical distancing in the eating area didn't exist. No staff was presiding to ensure cleanliness. Everyone touched the serving utensils. Eggs looked like odd pancakes. Sausages were cold.

This was a very clean Hotel, Staff were great and central location. We stayed at this hotel while on a golf trip and it was central location to 4 courses we played. There was lots of choices for restaurants close by.

There was blood on the comforter, stains on the carpet, the mini fridge is missing a leg so it wobbles, the air-conditioning smelt like mold, which made the room smell terrible, we had to shut it off, good thing it wasn't too hot out for our stay. Also the hot tub wasn't working.

Stayed here for the first time. What a great hotel it was. I will stay here again in the future. Staff very friendly internet worked well. Location was near the freeway but not right on it. It's a older property. I didn't use pool or any other amenity as I was in the room less than 6 hours

The room was large and well appointed. Amenities were all in good working order and the room was clean and inviting. The location was great for a dog walk in fact one of the best for waterfront, clean and a good length (easy hour) for a big dog. This time of the year is excellent for travel and the hotel was not at all busy. Will definitely use this facility again. Oh and the price outstanding.

The hotel is well cared for. Good parking, close to downtown. The pool is very nice and is relaxing to sit pool side and read a book (even during Covid times). The rooms are comfortable. We had a single queen room and this provided a nice sitting area.

there is a Pub right next to the hotel, they offer great dinner special prices and if you show the key card of the hotel you get a 10% discount. The rooms are pretty big, just keep in mind that there are train track right behind the hotel so it might wake you up at night the sound of the train, but I only heard it once

Quiet, clean, even had a covid conscious breakfast grab bag with bottled water, juicebox, muffin, granola bar, apple and orange. Bed was sooo comfy. Pool was pristine. This is my go-to whenever I travel to Salmon Arm in the future.

The lighting is poor and even the bedside light broken. Overall need more cleaning ...dusty everwhere; especially Cov19 !...scary! The carpet is so dirty. I found out because I forgot my sleeper and end up my shocks turn black.

Pretty expensive for what you get. Old, and there's a funky smell in the room (could be the A/C?). Location is ok, as in it's not too close to the highway so it's quiet. Passable but would chose something else next time.

We thought being near the water would be a good thing, but the lakeshore is a marshland that can be pretty smelly (not the hotel's fault, but that's the odour that may greet you in the parking lot). Our bed had one of those memory-foam toppers placed on top with a bed sheet wasn't a deep-style fitted sheet, so it kept rising up during our sleep and coming off the mattress. The rest of the room is clean but tired. If you're a soccer mom or hockey dad who has seen your share of tournament motels & hotels then you'll know what this place is like. Not recommended for a couple's getaway.

Stayed for 1 night on our way through to Alberta- room was very musty, air conditioner didn't work very well, door to room kept jamming as the lock wasn't working properly, I wouldn't want to stay more than the 1 night. Location was fine. We didn't bother telling the front desk as she had said the hotel was full

We stayed in the pet friendly room which wreaked of mold, the carpet was wet, the bed was full of what looked like scabs so could only use one bed. air cond was loud and didn't work. Hair in shower...

I was sincerely distressed to read this review! This is NOT how we present our rooms! I wish that you had told the front desk that the room had not been cleaned and we would have happily moved you to a different room that met with your approval! Again, my deepest apologies.

There was a lot of noise and the cleanliness of the room was subpar!We called Front desk at 12:30 am after we were fed up with all the noise. The Shampoo bottle was empty and both sinks were clogged. Not our best stay!

No pool, no breakfast and only told as checking in so could not cancel. Bed was okay, location good but no real service. Enjoyed the water slides next door but pool was closed at hotel?? Breakfast was water, granola bar and price of fruit!

Very clean and friendly front staff. Breakfast was good. Conveniently located. Stayed here for a hockey tournament which can be challenging for staff but they were very accomodating. definitely will stay here in the future.

The room was very clean. Couple of restaurants around the hotel. It was nice to just park and walk to grab a bite to eat and enjoy a couple of beverages after a long day of traveling. Just need to get the hot tub working. Even though the train tracks are rite behind it you can't hear it.

Stayed on the way from BC to Alberta just before Christmas. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Room was clean tidy and a very good size. We brought a dog with us and with a door leading out to a small grass area, the position of the pet friendly room was excellent. Finally, breakfast was very good indeed - fresh, hot and a good selection. We enjoyed our stay so much that we booked in again for our return journey.

Quick trip with the wife. Loved the location, pool/hotub, breakfast, the beds. Mr. Mike's and pub within walking distance. Pretty quiet considering there were families staying for a hockey tournament that weekend.

great location awesome place to stay highly recommend every time. The place is fully equipped with a swimming pool breakfast and the location is close to various other amenities. I had the handicapped room and the amenities of the room were not up to basic handicap standards. The bathtub did not have grab bars and there was not a hand held shower head. There was a short plastic grab bar on the back wall but this is not what is required for safe use by a handicapped person. I would advise everyone to make sure to ask very detailed questions about handicapped rooms as there are no laws in Canada as there are in the US.

I stayed at this hotel for three nights as part of a Canadian road trip - please see my other reviews. There were four adults in our party and we flew with Air Canada from London. Check-in was quick and easy at this hotel, and the lady on reception was very friendly and helpful. She also suggested places to eat and came to sort out our TV, as we couldn't get it to work. She told us that our rooms were close to the railway line and that she would move us if we found it noisy - we didn't experience any problems and didn't hear any trains in the night. The room was a good size and we had two queen sized beds. Everything was clean and there were tea and coffee making facilities in the room - there was also coffee and tea available next to reception. There was an indoor pool, too, but we didn't get chance to use it during our stay. Breakfast was included at this hotel, which was a real bonus and saved us having to decide where to eat each morning. The hotel was in a good location for exploring Salmon Arm, which was a beautiful little place with some great scenery and wildlife.

The hotel is older, but was very clean. Like many older hotels that allowed smoking at some point, the room smelled a little musty upon entry. However, it was meticulously clean. WIFI worked well. Our only complaint was that the breakfast didn't start until 7AM, which I feel is too late for people who are travelling and usually leave by or before that time. I heard a lot of people leaving their rooms before the breakfast start time. So the hotel charges rates based on an include breakfast, but lots of people can't take advantage of it.

The only problem is, we have quite a few tour companies that we deal with and they have the breakfast room between 6 am and 7 am. We are seeing how we might change this. At the end of a day of motoring what you really want is a nice room to relax in and which is close to other ammenities - such as a pub or restaurant. This has a choice by just walking across the parking lot - clean room, comfy bed and good breakfast and you are on your way again.

Old motel out of the 70's. Over priced, for the price get a hotel. Not a great motel, location, experience or facility. Can't warn you enough, stay away. I like BW but not this motel. You won't save money. Mr. Mike's is next door, only good thing I can say.

Located just off highway one, with a number of eating options nearby. We ordered from Pizza Hut and they delivered within thirty minutes. We found out the next morning they were right around the corner. The breakfast was the best I've had at a motel. Would definitely recommend this motel.

Near all kinds of amenity such as shopping mall, gas station. Walk distance to Salmon Arm Wharf. Decent breadfast includes egg, bacon, bread, muffin, fruits and yogurt. The restaraunt across the street Mr.Mike Grill has tasty food.

My son Matt and I were travelling west and stopped in for a night at the Best Western Salmon Arm Inn, without a reservation. Even though everything was sold out for the night, Jim on the front desk found us the last double queen room for the night (129). It was a quiet sleep on good beds with clean linen, and in the morning we saw what a beautiful property it is. A two-level motel-style hotel, with a pool and hot tub building in the middle. As well, the morning served up a free FAB breakfast on the 2nd floor. Next time by this way, I'll stay again 100%. Good travels, Paul

Was a great spot for the family while we were in town for a swim meet. The breakfast didn't open until 7am so we were unable to take advantage of that feature. The staff were very friendly. Free parking.

If they put you in a room close to the train tracks just walk away and find another hotel. I'd recommend the BW in Kamloops. Tax in I paid over $200 for 1 person and a dog to be woken up multiple times with the room shaking. It can't be that bad at the other end of the hotel for the same price.

Good area for everything. Location is right behind the waterslides. Room was ok. Clean but when we got back at 11:30 the parking was packed. Had to park across the street. Breakfast was ok but there is very limited GF options.

The beds were comfy and the room was clean. The train goes by a lot and the earplugs don't really help. The rooms are dark and the AC was broken. It is an old motel so it is noisy and the hot tub was broken.

Yes, the train can be noisy but you were warned of the noise beforehand and still decided to take that room. Our hot tub was down due to a blower needing to be replaced, it has since been repaired. You are in Salmon Arm what are you expecting? If you are like me and there for one brief night all you need is the consistency of a chain hotel. This property has all you really require. Clean rooms, relatively quiet and a decent location. The free continental breakfast is kind of sparse but were you expecting an omelette station or eggs Benny? If you find a decent rate on-line then you'll find that this hotel is just fine for what you need.

This best western is an older hotel. the decor is dated, but everything works and the price wasn't too bad. Breakfast started at 7am, didn't get to try it as I had to get on the road early. but the coffee at the front desk was good!

The location is good, great view and scenery when you look outside your window. 1) Breakfast has a number of options: juice (apple, orange, milk); freshly made waffles with additional toppings (chocolate chips, whipped cream, etc.); sausage links; scrambled eggs; yogurt; boiled eggs; cinnamon buns (Cinnabon) and other pastries; English muffins; toast; cereal (possibly frosted flakes, fruit loops, and raisin bran); and other foods that I have failed to mention. 2) Pool was open, easily accessible, felt a little cold (23.5 degrees Celsius), and had side tables and lots of chairs (upright and lounge) to sit on. 3) Rooms a) average cleanliness: nothing gross, nothing unclean, just not new. b) bed were comfortable but pillows were lumpy (only downfall of the entire stay). 4) Staff: welcoming, small town feel, everyone says hello and smiles to everyone. Summary: good hotel, great place in BC, on the closer side to amenities, right off the main road, nice staff.

As far as the pillows go...the housekeepers have a tendency to "stuff" the pillows into the cases so they can fit them all on the beds. This is a motel. Nicer than the average motel. It had anything you would need in a motel and was very clean. It was near the train but we didn't hear anything in our room and slept very well. It's a 10-15 minute walk to the downtown area and the waterfront. The provided plastic drinking cups instead of glass. That was my only complaint. The breakfast was good.

Super disappointed with this hotel! The staff were lovely and very helpful and none of it was their fault, but the rooms are so dark and depressing and smelt of smoke from the walkways around the hotel complex. There's nowhere to sit out and the pool hot tub was out of order. It was so bad that we immediately checked straight back out - felt bad for the other people who were also complaining but ended up staying. The whole place needs to be renovated to bring it up to the standards of near by hotels.

Clean hotel, friendly staff, quiet rooms, comfortable beds, great water pressure in the shower . Only issue was the train that ran behind the hotel, but I barely even noticed it. Free hot breakfast with stay. Would stay there again

Booked a 4 night stay at Best Western Salmon Arm during a Hockey tournament and was pleasantly surprised. The staff were excellent. Kudos to the front desk, cleaning staff and Darcy taking care of the morning breakfast. The property is clean, run professionally and the room I rented was spacious and quiet. The beds were also comfortable. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again in the future.

I stayed in room 125 on 16 April of this year. I am normally a pretty tolerant person but this was without a doubt the worse best western stay I have had. I have to also say I am NOT impressed with Best Western and the ridiculous inability to leave them feedback. I kept getting sent a survey site that didn't offer Canada as an option at all, and from there you circle back endlessly to their main site. Who ever does their web design can be safely fired. There was not a single comfortable chair in the room. Nor was there a chair made before 1950 if I was to guess. The bed was terribly uncomfortable and the room was not very clean, it clearly required a vacuuming and the tissue box was empty. Probably the one thing that really sent the lack of sanitation clearly home was the rodent population in the room. I suspect it may have been the same mouse seen several times but having one staring at you from the top of the microwave doesn't bode well for their pest control. I pass through Salmon Arm yearly and this was my 2nd time at the BW there. My first stay was not so bad. This last (and it was my last) was awful. There are enough other options in Salmon Arm to justify skipping the BW entirely.

I hadn't stayed here before. Set back from the main road so not allot of traffic noise. Some noise from the trains adjacent but it's just a rumbling. All the rooms face the centre parking area so you do get some vehicle sounds. Checked in and had a room on the 2nd floor. Comfortable bed. Nicely updated with new countertops and a new bath area. Older furniture. Basic breakfast enough to get you going. Good wifi speeds. Good stay.

Overall it was a very good stay. The internet speed was high. The breakfast was included. Be aware: it had no elevator. It had two floors. The room was big enough, but the bathroom was tiny that caused inconvenience.

The hotel is set well back and oriented away from the Trans Canada so it is quiet. Staff were welcoming. We appreciated being offered a kettle to boil water to make tea. The breakfast restaurant has real cutlery, not plastic, and the food was good and neatly presented.

Second stay here. Stayed 2 nights. Check in was very easy. The staff was friendly and prompt. The room was ok. A little dated but clean. The heating unit was a little loud but not as noisy as other we have experienced elsewhere. The breakfast was ok. The staff was making sure the tables were clean and the food was fresh as possible. Check out was very simple. We would stay here again.

I checked into the BW after an all-day drive from the States, and needed to be on the road early the next morning. The gentleman who checked me in went through the full schpiel to ensure I had what I needed. The room was clean and well-apportioned. There was a small fridge and microwave that I didn't need, but if I'd had leftovers, I certainly would have. Breakfast the next morning was available at 7 a.m. and was perfectly adequate.

If you like trains at all hours and slamming car doors all night- then.....this is the place for you! the hotel is an alcove arrangement and therefore, all rooms face one another and also face the parking area. if any one talks, coughs, farts or closes their car doors...you get to hear it in your room! YAY! Not a great place to get a good nights sleep, but I would imagine that his would be a great place if you wanted to party, or, meet other random people...

The room was big, quiet and clean. Pet friendly for an additional charge. There is a pub next door that is quite convenient. The breakfast was good with a large selection. The only thing wrong was the hot tub was unavaible but it happens. Overall it was an enjoyable stay.

We just returned from a three-day hockey tournament in Salmon Arm. We (and several other Peewee teams of 10-11 year olds) stayed at this Best Western. It was perfect for our needs - rooms were comfortable and clean, the included breakfast was plentiful and exceeding expectations (waffles! eggs! whipped cream = happy hockey players) and the location was great. A big shout-out should also go to Maria at the front desk. Our group had an unfortunate interaction with a very cranky, intoxicated guest at one point and Maria dealt with the situation graciously, professionally and with admirable courteousness given the circumstances. We were very impressed with her handling of an unpleasant situation. All in all, a perfect spot for our team. Great job, Best Western Salmon Arm!

This was an ok place to stay overnight.The entrance is a bit awkward to get in and out of. there were no good places to eat within walking distance. The room was clean and quiet. The pool was nice. Breakfast was good.

Place was good for an overnight stay . Rooms were clean and well appointed . I think all rooms with an USB plug would be good . Wifi was average . The place was central to what we required before going to Adams river for the Sockeye run.

Arrived in Salmon Arm on Greyhound and hotel was with in 100 metres of hotel, which was good for what we needed. No noise from depot. No reservation, but room was available and ready. Check in was very friendly and efficient, took just a few minutes. Amenities explained well and towels for pool supplied at that time. Room was top floor and close to Highway, but we did not hear and traffic. Clean room, with comfy bed and clean bathroom. No noise from other guest in adjacent rooms. Microwave, kettle etc in room. Mall not far, and so are a few fast food establishments. Felt safe in area and walking around at night. Approximately 10 minute walk from Salmon Arms. Overall a good stop if needed, comfortable and clean and warm, which helped when it was chilly outside that night. If in area would use hotel again.

The hotel is located a little off the TransCanada highway on the wesy end of Salmon Arm, making the rooms very quiet! The beds were suoer comfortable! Like all Best Westerns, breakfast us invluded! A great surprise was the use of real china and cutlery in the breakfast room! Would highly recommend this one. !

need to get the smell out and supply more bar soap in the room. more cups and nicer bedding. the motel is in a great location but needs upgrading and the price was a little high. we were there for the summer games and the other motels were only charging $100.00 with tax !

We travelled to Salmon Arm for hockey on Saturday and stayed one night at the Best Western Salmon Arm. The gentlemen and the front counter was great - quick, polite and very speedy. The room was very nice and clean - beds comfortable. The only complaint was the creakiness of the pipes from my neighbour next door. I could hear them having their shower at 5am as it woke me up as it was quite loud. The breakfast was great - would definitely stay here again.

This is as a very clean, comfortable motel. The staff were very accommodating and were very apologetic that the hot tub had just broke down. We had a very quite and nice room. The only thing that disappointed us a bit was that it shows it's waterfront, it's not really accessible. You need to drive 10-15 min outside of Salmon arm to get to a beach. Other than that the beds were very comfortable rooms clean. There were lots of areas that were walkable distances to meet all your eating and entertainment needs.

I was visiting Salmon Arm from the UK as a volunteer, but was stranded at a bus station next door. I had no way to contact my hosts who I would be staying with, and so I desperately needed Wi-Fi. Next door was this hotel so, as a last resort, I entered reception and explained my situation. I asked if I could use their Wi-Fi, and I was more than happy to pay if necessary. I was turned away without a second's notice, citing it was for guests only. A truly humiliating experience. This is no review on the hotel itself, but rather a warning about the type of staff that work here, who'd rather leave someone stranded than give out a simple Wi-Fi password.

When you came in to ask for our secured WIFI pass code you never mentioned any thing about being stranded, needing help or assistance in any way. We would have gladly helped you out if you had explained your situation. We will not leave anyone stranded. When you just walked in and asked for our pass code we politely told you that it was available to hotel guests only, as is our policy. We would never intentionally embarrass any person, and I sincerely apologize if you were made to feel that way. What a terrible misunderstanding on both sides. Again, I sincerely apologize for this incident.

We were in Salmon Arm for a wedding this weekend and found that this hotel through Booking.com. The whole check in process was very quick and the staff were very accommodating. The room was very clean and comfortable and in good repair. We have nothing negative to say about it other than the parking was in short supply and the Hot tub was out of order.

I am sorry about the parking, but we do have three different lots around the hotel so there is enough parking for each room, but they are not all right in front of the rooms. We were in Salmon Arm for a funeral and had requested a king room. As we arrived later in the day due to construction on the trans-canada we were given a choice of the king room at the back of the hotel 114 or a single queen bed in another location. Getting to sleep was a bit of a problem but once asleep we didn't hear the trains that run through the night. So if you want a king room, get there early.

We try very hard not to book people into them unless they request to be by the train. Yes, some people actually like the train, :-). Tons of parking and well laid out complex. Great staff very helpful. Enjoyed late check out for rewards plan members. We mixed business with family fun and because of late check out enjoyed the breakfast in the morning and also had the swimming pool and hot tub all to ourselves. It was a memory and that is what life is all about. Business went well and there was a feeling of no rushing to get you out the door even though we had late check out. We did not take advantage and left at 12 noon which gave us more than enough time to shower and clean up after breakfast and pool time. Great stay and memories.

We found this hotel because we needed a place that had a pet friendly room. The staff at check-in, check-out and breakfast were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is centrally located in Salmon Arm within walking distance of a couple of restaurants, a coffee shop, a grocery store and a convenience store. The decor and furnishings in our room were fairly plain, as would be expected in a pet friendly room. There is a major highway in front of the hotel and a rail line running right behind so some people might be disturbed by the sound. The pool was very clean but the hot tub was not working during our visit. My only complaint is that our room had a faint odour of cigarette smoke.

People stand outside and smoke and the let the smoke filter in through the H-VAC machines under the windows and that is where the smell comes from. After a long trip with children we were accommodated by Heather at very short notice. The customer service here was excellent, and arguably better than many of the hotels I have stayed at with work, or with the family. The room was fine, we used the pool (clean) and the hot tub (jets not working). The breakfast is very good, and the fresh fruit was excellent. The coffee (Seattles best) was also nice. There's a trainline immediately behind the hotel, yet while we heard the trains, the noise is not disproportionate, nor does it prohibit sleep...or at least not ours.

This was a chalet style room. It was very cramped, there was only one bedside table. The bathroom was very small and there was a problem with the toilet as it would not flush properly. Having stayed in many Great Western hotels before both in Canada and the USA we were very disappointed in this one as it definitely is not up to expectations of their usual standards. There was a free breakfast but this was made with processed food and not overly appetising.

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights to attend a wedding near Salmon Arm. Our unit was spacious and quiet. We appreciated the two comfortable queen beds, the fast wifi, the bar fridge, and the tv with plenty of channels. The unit was tastefully decorated and clean. The included breakfast had excellent selection and was totally worth the daily rate that we paid. This is a highly recommended place to stay while visiting Salmon Arm or when stopping on the way between BC and Alberta.

I travel often for work and pleasure and was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness of this hotel from the grounds, rooms and common areas. The check in and check out very friendly staff, better price than all other BW I have stayed at. The room was more than adequate and being able to control your own AC even better. Nice king bed sure comfy, always hot water, very clean, bar fridge, microwave,coffee maker. We did not use the indoor pool nor have breakfast. Very impressed with recycling program.

rooms and hotel was very clean. Continental breakfast was good with alot to chose from. Easy access from the highway to the hotel. Hotel is close to all amenities. The shopping mall is right across the highway. I would stay here again.

Clean and comfortable. Staff are great, breakfast is of higher quality than 99% if hotels I've stayed at where it is complimentary. I stayed in the back of the hotel by choice -near the train where the front desk staff advised me of the possible noise. If anything the train is a monotone sound and goes by a couple times a night and once in the morning. Horn only blew once from farther away and it was already daylight out. Wasn't a problem for me sleeping at all. Bed was very comfy and the shower was clean and larger than my own at home. Will return in the future!

During our trip from Van Island to Calgary, we overnighted at BW in Salmon Arm. So handy to the highway, but quiet & extremely comfortable. Lovely hot breakfast included so we were thrilled with the value. Will be back soon.

First time staying at this Best Western and we were pleasantly surprised. Location was great. Easy to find and right across the street from the Casino. Room was a good size, and very clean. Loved the shower with it's great water pressure! Darcy in the breakfast room was the most friendly and nice person we have met in this type of setting. We will definitely stay here again.

Stopped in needed sleep before driving thru. Front desk was nice and helpful but room was very dated. Like stepping back into the 80's. Hair all over the pillows but I was so tired I wanted a shower and sleep. Bed and pillows once all the hair was off was comfy and slept well

We were super impressed by the front desk, cleaning and kitchen staff. Darcy is the hardest working person I'd ever seen, making sure nothing ran out at breakfast! The room was clean and comfortable. The hot tub and pool were also clean and perfect temperatures. I would definitely stay again.

We were in two weekends in a row for my son's curling. This is such a great hotel. Super comfortable rooms and beds. I love the breakfast provided and the room. A little slow on replenishing some of the hot stuff but it always came. Pool was super fun and the front desk staff were great. Forgot a toothpaste and they had it. Always cheerful.

We stayed here mid week while moving. I had called ahead and asked about parking availability for a cargo trailer and ground floor access as I have bad knees and didn't want to use the stairs. The fellow who booked me gave me exactly what I asked for. The room was clean and quiet and we had a wonderful nights sleep. We did express check out and were able to leave quickly and easily. Breakfast was hot with sausage and scrambled eggs,along with a variety of other items. Overall a very good stay!

Had to walk in the freezing rain to get to the pool, that wasn't even accessible until 9am and closed at 9pm. The room had a funky smell, uncomfortable double bed and an outdated decor. The shower was a mix of ice cold and boiling hot water...this place cost over $150.00 and was worse than a shady motel. The staff were pleasant but that's the only thing this place had going for it!

The pool is able to be left open till 10 if requested. If you were unhappy with your room, you should have contacted the front desk and we would have happily moved you to a different room that met with your requirements. The $150.00 you said you were charged for your room is incorrect. That amount included a security deposit which came off at check out. Our 5 year old loved the pool. It could have been a touch warmer, but it was a nice swim. We were passing through and the location is right off the highway and close to stores which is very nice! The location is dog friendly which is not always easy to find.

This is a motel not a hotel, so walking outside in the cold to get to the lobby and/or breakfast wasn't my favourite. The rooms however, were very clean, beds were excellent and it was very quiet! I would recommend this motel to other travellers.

Comfortable and convenient hotel near the center of Salmon Arm. Clean and quiet room, free but limited breakfast all for a great price. On arrival, front desk staff upgraded our room with us asking to one away from the train, and made some exception dinning suggestions.

Stopped here to break up a road trip from Calgary to the Sunshine Coast with our dog. Room was clean and warm upon our early arrival. Lots of room for our medium sized dog to lay out. Bed was comfy, a few different pillows available for those picky pillow people like myself and my partner. Friendly staff from making the reservation to super attentive when checking in, and very considerate upon checkout. Will def stay again in the future.

My husband and I are moving from Alberta to BC. Was a long and awful day. I called 10 hotels and no one was friendly and they were mostly all full. This hotel was selected as convenient during a trip back to Edmonton. The hotel was clean and very comfortable, with great staff. There were three significant problems. First, the deadbolt did not work. It would not engage the door jam at all because of an alignment problem. Second, the electrical outlets were worn out to the point they would not hold a plug. I run into this problem frequently, but all of the outlets I tried in the room were shot. Third, the breakfast as provided was very, very limited. The internet service was OK, but I was right next to a router, so I don't know if rooms farther away would be well served. I would stay here again, but maintenance upgrades are definitely overdue, and the breakfast needs work.

Stayed here 2 nights. Check in was ok. The person at the desk seamed to be a little over whelmed at times. Room and price were as conformation. Room was average. Had breakfast both mornings. Again nothing over the top but ok. Both breakfasts had the same items both days. Check out was simple. Only complaint is that the pillows could have been bigger compared to the size of the queen bed.

Very unprofessional, had to cancel our team reservation. Requested either a conference room or common area for the team, to be considerate to the other guests. They do not have the facilities, so we were willing to pay for an extra room. They assumed it was going to be a party room and made inappropriate comments. I? then said that it would not be a good fit for our team and canceled the reservation. When the cancellation email was sent to me, it was titled : “reason for cancellation was because I? refused a straight up party room” Very unprofessional email.

I sincerely apologize for the misunderstandings we had about your booking. When you filled in and signed the contract for this group booking, it stated in the contract that there were no meeting rooms available and all activities would have to be in one of your rooms. When you called to check on getting a room "to keep all the parents in, so they would not bother the other guests", you were told we were fully booked. You called back to speak to someone else and talked to me requesting a room "for the parents to drink in." I took this to mean a party room. As we have had a lot of problems with type of activity, I told you that it was not possible and that we were fully booked. You proceeded to get quite belligerent with me and refused to listen to anything i had to say. You then called back and cancelled your group booking because I was too difficult to deal with. Again, I apologize for this, but we do not allow "party" rooms when we are fully booked (or any other times). I am just quoting what you called the room to begin with, and if you are now changing your story to suit you, that is up to you. Respectfully.

We had a great stay. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful, rooms were clean if not beautiful, beds were supremely comfortable although the pillows were terrible. The bathroom was tiny and the bathtub was too small for anyone other than a child to take a bath. Still a great experience.

This location is a short walk to town and across from the Casino. I recommend this place for business due to easy access off highway, clean and comfortable rooms and secure parking. There is a railway at he rear of the property that is seldom used as well it is next door to a small bus depot. Can be a bit noisy occasionally but over all a quiet place. ??

Just far enough back from the Trans Canada that it avoids highway noise. Clean rooms. Good stopping point for highway travelers. I would have liked a warmer blanket so I didn't have to turn the forced air heat on extra high. Breakfast not the greatest, but its not bad for a free one served by office staff. Room very spacious. Lots of parking. I didn't have time to use the pool.

Excellent hotel. Recently renovated and looks great. Room was very comfortable, bed, shower, internet, tv all great. Hot tub and pool all very nice with new furniture as well. Front desk staff efficient and kind. Highly recommend.

I arrived after dark with my 2 children after an 8-hr / 500km drive. The manager at the desk was very friendly and knowledgeable. The rate was much less than I expected to pay (based on recent experiences). The room was also a pleasant surprise - clean, spacious and well appointed w/ quality finishes.

TV wasn't working, the coverlets were very thin and the breakfast so sad that we decided we will never again pay for a motel/hotel that includes breakfast. Nope. We will stay at a more reasonable place and go to a restaurant where food is cooked and not pre-frozen and heated. This places charges way too much for an outdated dark motel.

A very comfortable, clean, quiet motel. Easy to locate from the main highway; parking right outside the door; a mini-fridge, microwave and coffee maker in the room; good beds; enough space for suitcases and other travelling stuff; free WiFi; complimentary breakfast and friendly, helpful staff. The night we stayed there a bus tour arrived so when I arrived at breakfast around 9, sadly, the sausages and fruit were cleaned out. However, there was plenty else to eat and the person in charge of the breakfast room was extremely kind and helpful. Although the bus tour gang had arrived all at once and all together -- pretty much falling on the breakfast like locust --- I was struck by the fact that the breakfast attendant maintained her composure and even, miraculously, managed to keep the breakfast area very tidy and organized. (It was a shame about the sausages being all eaten!)

This is a great place right along the highway, easy to get to. Has an indoor pool. Breakfast was great. King bed was comfortable and we slept great and it was quiet considering all the people staying there.

nice place good clean rooms but not very pet friendly very close to everything also very close to train tracks so if you a light sleeper this might a problem. also pillows are very thick. hot tub was not working and wish hotels would post this type of thing on website so you know when you book

Thank you for taking the time to review our property. We are totally pet friendly. We have a number of pet friendly rooms, but they have to be booked when you reserve your room. We do this for people with allergies to pet dander. When you book via a third party company we do not always get notification of request. Also, if the train noise will bother you, just request a room away from the tracks. Train noise is usually not heard from these rooms. Apologies for the hot tub, we do not always have notice that amenities are going to beak down. But, it is a good idea to post tis type of thing on our website. This hotel has done renovations last year with new carpet, tile, bedding etc. which made it very pleasing and comfortable. The price was very reasonable compared to Sicamous and Revel stoke for a night at the Best Western.

We used this hotel to overnight on our Greyhound trip to Banff. It is adjacent to the bus station, but the downside is lack of eating options nearby. Otherwise, it was very comfortable, with a clean, spacious room and good wi-fi. Breakfast is upstairs and can be crowded. Arrangements can be made to eat in the lobby if stairs are a problem.

I very much enjoyed my night at the Best Western Inn. The breakfast was excelent. The Inn is accross the street from the bus depot, which was very useful for us. It was nice to settle into a clean and comfortable room after a day on the bus.

The rooms, the included Continental breakfasts (pretty good variety), and the price were all good. Very clean and quiet rooms, comfortable beds. It is close to the railway, but you shouldn't notice the trains unless you're a very light sleeper, even with the window open.

This hotel sits back off of the highway a bit so is very quiet at night. The room was very nice and cozy. Bed was great. Very nice looking older hotel. The staff were very helpful. The free breakfast was as good as any other one that I've had. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Very pleasant stay. Nice clean room and a good breakfast. Walking distance to a nice park on the lakefront or downtown amenities. The train tracks are right behind the hotel, but train noise was not a problem

Great motel, clean, spacious room includes microwave and fridge. Pool and hot tub were nice and facilities clean. The breakfast, included, was decent. Good free wifi too. The motel is located 100 m from the Trans Canada highway, close but not too close to hear the traffic. Salmon Arm was a nice pit stop on the way to Vancouver.

Best Western Hotel in Salmon Arm, BC. A very convenient stop en route from Calgary to the west coast. The staff were very helpful in finding a room that met our needs and very pleasant. Easily met our expectations - consistent with previous stays. Near the west edge of town however easy access to downtown businesses, shopping, and restaurants.

Like most Best Western hotels, the staffs are always friendly. The rooms are decent. Compared to US hotels, Canadian hotels tends to be less spacious. Overall, satisfactory. Only problem I had was the stink that permeates the whole town on the day I stayed at this place. The staffs didn't know what it is or where it's coming from. Could be the dried mud from the lake or the chickens farm.

The Best Western chain is reliably comfortable and a good place to stay. Salmon Arm BW has friendly staff and a nice location a little back from the main road. The indoor pool and hot tub are a nice addition. The restaurant at the Casino across the road was a real surprise and we had an excellent meal and great service.

The carpets were old & stained. Stained bedsheets and found hair in sink. Front desk reception was awkward & unfriendly. Many other rooms booked with us had reservations disappear. Hotel by train - loud

The challenge we had was with our reservations and billing at the end. With a block of rooms reserved, somehow on the day our wedding guests arrived - 3 of our rooms had been either dropped or cancelled. With everyone travelling in from out of town on an otherwise fully booked day, we were panicked. Fortunately, the manager (Heather) made a special trip in on her off time to "fix" the problem - while we never found out why this problem had occurred at all, I fully credit her with finding rooms for all our guests. On check out one of the rooms had been double charged - the guest caught this and to the front desk's credit when presented with the information, they promptly refunded the over charge. Now to the better stuff... The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable and the hotel is nestled in the heart of Salmon Arm making access to the rest of the city easy. The complimentary breakfast was outstanding and very well serviced. The staff are friendly and helpful. There is also a good sized indoor swimming pool (which is generally shallow) and a whirlpool.

My family and I stopped overnight for a quick stay while driving between Victoria and Calgary. The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. We all enjoyed the breakfast and there were lots of items to choose from. The service from the staff was great.

Very pleased with the Services and People working on that place. Easy access and closed to the City Center. Room and parking was good. Room quality and cleanness was on our expectations. This hotel was very conveniently located halfway between Calgary and Vancouver. Rooms were clean, staff very friendly, and relatively good breakfast. The only thing that was not good was the parking, as there were not enough of them for a full hotel.

The memory foam air matress was the most comfortable of any hotel where I have ever stayed! The staff was friendly and helpful and the room was spacious and well appointed. Furthermore, the breakfast was ample and delicious.

The hotel was great the only thing was the driveway to the rooms that were entered from the outside parking lot were often blocked by vehicles that were checking-in to the hotel. The staff were excellent and very friendly, the room was clean and had everything you could want.

Spent the "pre" night at this hotel, would probably have stayed the entire five day weekend, but the room cost went up over 70%. Proximity to the Roots & Blues Festival was outstanding. Friendly staff, decent, clean, well maintained facilities, hearty breakfast. Pool was clean and refreshing.

In Salmon Arm for music festival, location conveniently only a couple blocks away from fair grounds. Close to food, gas, Walmart and Tim Hortons. Also walking distance to downtown. Staff efficient and friendly. Breakfast good. The hotel was full so breakfast room was busy in the morning but they constantly replenished food and cleaned up tables. Great Stay! When next in Salmon Arm for the music festival will stay here again.

We are a family of 5 and it's not always easy to find a room to accommodate us. This room did! Was very spacious & very clean. Loved the separate sink from the bathroom. Wish the room had a microwave tho. Breakfast was great - one more waffle maker would have been nice as there is always such a wait and we were wanting to eat and run. Would definitely stay here again.

This is a great location. It's close to resturants, a liquor store and a small mall. We were close to a few wineries and cheese place. The morning breakfast simple but filling. The cleaning staff were really great.

We checked in on aug 3. Motel style hotel. Front desk friendly. Room was upstairs, Only stairs available. Bathroom very very small. Tub did not drain well. Only provided 3 towels even though when I booked I did specify 4 persons would be staying the night. Morning breakfast was not very good, Limited selections and small space with limited chairs and tables. Quite pricey for what you get. Would not recommend at all.

Unfortunately the girls do not know how many people are going to be checking into a room when they clean and do up the room. We checked in August 3rd. Room okay but air conditioner did not cool room well. The tub was slippery and bit scary for me to take shower as I had chemotherapy and my feet aren't great. Needs Matt or something. I couldn't use pool as there was only one way in it and that was metal rungs which was very painful to try to get into so I wasn't able to use pool at all. The hot tub was very hot even turned my husbands skin red in few minutes. The reception personnel were good and friendly. Don't think we will stay here again whenever we head west from Calgary to go to horseshoe bay. Would likely not recommend to stay here.

As we discussed, yes, something should be done about the bathtubs. We do have mats at the front desk but, as you said, that doesn't do you any good if you are already in the shower. We are checking into putting a non-slip coating on the tubs. I do apologize, but after checking into it, there is nothing that can be done about putting stairs , other than the ones we have, into the pool. Our hot tub is the same temperature all the time, 104 degrees. I am sorry if it was too hot for you. We are sorry you won't be staying with us again. There are better hotels to stay at in Salmon Arm. There is limited parking at this location. It is by the railroad tracks and the rooms have old single pain windows with inside storm windows. The room was clean and the linens were fine but the bed in my room (118) seemed to have broken Springs on one side and I could only sleep on one side of the bed. I would not return to this location. It is not the level of comfort I am used to from a Best Western.

They lost my reservation and moved our room to right beside the breakfast room there was a Rude tour group that was super noisy and very rude that had no control of their misbehaving children who were allowed to roam free

I was truly distressed to read this review. I am not sure who you are so I cannot find out what happened to your reservation. We don't ever have problems with "lost" reservations and I wanted to check out what happened. I apologize for the Asian tour we had in and the noise they made. Have just checked into this Best Western after a long and smokey drive from Calgary on our way to Vancouver. The reception area has a musty dank smell for starters. At an inflated $166 per night and a Best Western at that, one would expect more. When researching the advertisement says the hotel has been newly renovated. NOT! We have a room at the very end of the complex beside the employee parking lot and down from their smoking area; and an ugly cobwebbed structure, and beside the railway tracks with regular LOUD train traffic. The carpet has two huge ugly stains, the wood furniture is all worn and marred, the electrical outlet cover is loose, the lighting is dull, and a hinge on the toilet seat is broken. The door to the room as a one inch gap to outdoors with no weather stripping enabling cold air draft and whatever to crawl in. Completely outdated and a huge disappointment. The only upside are the hotel staff at reception who are friendly. Have no idea how this night is going to go.

we were not informed that the railway tracks were right behind the hotel which made for a noisy stay . This is the mainline and there were a lot of trains went by. I also think that the rooms were pricey but that's probably because it is the height of tourist season

We stayed here for 5 nights. The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was small and you could hear the other guests turn on the showers through the walls. My kids enjoyed the pool and the staff was very friendly. The breakfast had good choices and my kids loved the waffle maker. My only comment would be to have more towels in the bathroom. The cleaning staff did a great job and we would stay here again. The mall is across the street and so is the Casino. Also, the water slides are right next door.

Clean and comfortable. Price was a tad high but stay was overall good. Check out took longer as only 1 person working desk. More towels in room would be great. Tea in room would be nice too as i dont drink coffee.

Stayed here with my family while passing through to go on a backpacking trip. We were happy that the mini fridge had a small freezer so we could pre-freeze some of our food prior to the trip! We find these motor inns to be noisy, I typically prefer hotels with indoor entrances to each room. We had some inconsiderate people staying above us that were speaking at the top of their lungs in the middle of the night, very rude. Breakfast was pretty good, apparently others have found the room too small, I think they have responded and provided a bigger room now as it seemed fine. My suggestion to the hotel is to start providing real eggs with breakfast, rather than the clearly 'instant' variety. Not a bad hotel, just a few minor improvements and it would get my clear recommendation.

Sometimes being as close to the lake as we are, we get odd smells coming from there. Our hotel is older, but very lovingly looked after. We just did a full all room and outside renovation last year. We do not try to compete with the Prestige Resort Hotel as we are not in the same league as they are, but we are very comparable to the other hotels in this area. Unfortunately, your room was at the end of the hotel by the tracks, but we had no other rooms available and you were warned of the noise and decided to take the room anyway. Again, my apologies for all the inconveniences you incurred while staying with us.

This room was way overpriced and wasn't what I was told it was going to be. The pool and hot tub are older and dirty. They definitely need some TLC. The room was supposed to have a king bed but only had a queen and it was my son and I. Not impressed

I am not sure what the third party company charged you, but it might have been more than what you would have paid by booking with the hotel. I certainly apologize for your unhappiness with your stay, but again, unfortunately I cannot fix anything that was booked on-line with a third party company not our own. Hopefully you will stay with us again and book through us and we can show you what we are really all about.

If you are looking for a reasonable place to relax on your travells this is a great stop along the way. This best western is located on the west end of Salmon Arm as you come into town. They are a short 10 15 min walk to a strip mall witch has all you are looking for. The hotel has a fantastic pool and ampal parking a breakfast bar with is open from 7am till 12. The rooms are standard rooms queen and king size beds fridge and microwave's. If you are a family looking to stay I would suggest asking for an adjoining room. One room with two queen size beds and the other room with a king size bed with a door that joins the two rooms. The staff and management are very friendly and helpfull and will go put of there way to help with whatever it is you are looking for. Over all this hotel is fantastic clean rooms friendly and helpfull staff and very close to shopping and a pub for those who are looking for some adult time. I will stay here at the Best Western in Salmon Arm again. Cheers to all.

This hotel looks more like a motel, with the rooms access from the outside of the building, which I personally don't enjoy as much. The room was clean. Breakfast was good and there was quite a bit to choose from, for example waffles, cereal, coffee, eggs (scrambled and cooked) sausage, etc. Overall it is a good place to spend the night.

We stayed at this hotel on our way back to the prairies from Vancouver. I did not get a good impression of the staff at check-in. One very exasperated woman blamed the other woman for not noting that we had a pet when she input our reservation. When we booked the hotel through points, there was no way to request a specific pet-room, so the person would not have known! Then they gave us a list of "rules" for the dog to follow. Most of them were just common sense but the sheet itself was a little insulting. The room was small and dark but pretty clean. We slept well and enjoyed the free breakfast in the morning where staff were very pleasant and helpful.

If you have mobility issues, you need to specify first floor accommodation is a must. Unless you have someone travelling with you to get breakfast on the second floor, you won't be able to take advantage of the free breakfast.

beetle and centipede crawling around in our room, two beetles actually. Outside our room smelled of rotten garbage, there was a homeless man drinking on the bench outside our room with garbage. The dumpster smelled really bad, and there was a pile of scrap metal and old microwaves ( 4 of them) where we needed to walk our dog( within the parking lot ) Staff was nice.

You came in with a pet and we had no pet rooms available but we kindly put you in one of our regular rooms so you would not have to try looking for a different place to stay. I apologize that the recycle company had not come by to pick up the microwaves and other recycling left at the trash site, but they work on their own schedule, as does the garbage company. If you had let the front desk know of the man drinking behind the hotel, we would have happily removed him for you. As far as the two beetles in your room, we are right next to the lake and unfortunately bugs come with our location. We try very hard to keep them under control, but sometimes they just escape us. Again, my most sincere apologies, and if you decide to stay with us again, just let me know and I will discount your room.

Hotel is in great condition. Room was clean. Wifi was great. Air Condition a plus. Didn't get a chance to use the pool or free breakfast as it was just a quick stop on our way home from holidays. Would stay again.

Hotel is easy to access from the highway, but far enough off that we didn't hear any traffic noise. The room was a nice size for 2 people and clean and comfortable. The wifi was good. The swimming pool was on the cold side, but we utilized it anyway as it was a hot day. There weren't any towels at the pool, so had to walk to the office to get some. The breakfast was good and was free. We have stayed at this hotel numerous times in the past and will probably stay here again.

A little pricey, but it was a busy time of year & most places were a similar cost, so I understand. They had a pet room for me, & it was close to my car, & there was a nice patch of grass for the dogs to do their business. (It was a bit strange that I had to make a $200 deposit beforehand, because I paid with a debit card, not a credit card...but I had the same experience at another hotel on the same trip, so I assume its protocol now.)

Driving across from Calgary towards Whistler - stayed at Best Western Salmon Arm - found our room to be very clean and comfortable. Although the hotel is located just off the highway - our room was quiet - we were not disturbed by any traffic sounds. Complimentary breakfast was convenient and offered all we needed to start our day. Would stay again if we were passing through.

After nearly 12 hours of driving and ferries, I needed a rest for the night and found the best hotel I could have possibly asked for. Just a block off the main Highway 1, this hotel has been fully updated recently with modern decor, well maintained, spacious rooms and a nice check-in lobby. The staff were very friendly and kind, and immediately accommodated a discount rate applicable through my employer. They even had a tray of apples waiting at the desk. Breakfast was excellent, a great selection of fruits, juices, yogurt, pastries and the classic scrambled eggs and sausage. The TV in the breakfast room was tuned to the news channel, so I was able to receive road updates, and as it turned out there had been an incident on the highway, therefore I was able to adjust my route and detour. The room was very clean, good amenities, and quite frankly, it was one of the best nights sleep I have ever had away from home. Despite being near the railway tracks I didn't hear a thing from the trains passing. Nearby there are several good restaurants, a Walmart, gas stations and easy access back to the highway. The pool facility is well located in the center and in it's own building, so no kids are tromping around the halls all the time. Can say I would recommend this stop completely.

Our overnight stay was very convenient as a stopping point between the Vancouver area and Calgary, our destination. The included breakfast was very good, and we wished the dining room had been able to serve us dinner too! There is a good restaurant at the Chances Casino across the highway though there was a half hour wait to be seated.

My friend booked this hotel so that we could stop over one night before we headed to Banff. The hotel is not large yet its room is spacious enough for 2 queen beds for 4 people. The breakfast room was full of guests yet we managed to get seats. There are quite a lot of varieties for the breakfast. It is nice to have 3 different flasks of coffee to select. It has wonderful scenery along the bridge. I was especially grateful for seeing the otters first time. They are so cute ;)

Hotel was under construction so there was some paint smell but not unbeatable. Pool was super cold and could use some upkeep but was still fun for the kids. Overall the hotel looked nice and met out expectations of best western quality.

We stayed here on May long weekend to break up the drive between Calgary and Vancouver. Service at check in was very good, the employee at the front desk was very efficient and knowledgable. Even though it was quite busy and she was dealing with a difficult guest who had some confusion over their reservation she still was able to ensure all other guests were taken care of in a timely manner. Room itself was of average quality, and adequate cleanliness, but a bit dated and we found the small square pillows fairly uncomfortable. We found that although this hotel met our basic needs, for a similar price we were able to stay at more modern hotels during our BC vacation.

Stayed here with three friends. It is located right in the middle of town, well furnished, clean and has very friendly staff at reception. Also included is WiFi (decent speed too) and they have a nice pool and hot tub too. It was quite busy though, if you want to park near your room then arrive before 7pm! Breakfast was tasty but quite limited in what was available, but there was plenty to go around. If I visit salmon arm on a budget again, I'll be sure to book!

I was visiting family with my 80 year old mother. She needed to have a comfortable room and bed in a quiet area. We found the rooms comfortable, the breakfast well done, with a good selection of food items, including freshly made waffles, fresh fruit, yogurt, scrambled eggs and sausage. The hotel is back from the highway and has minimal truck noise. The bed and breakfast were both pleasing. The next night we were in Medicine Hat at the BW and it was a bit more expensive there so this place had the edge for value.

We stayed for 4 nights in a double queen room. The mattresses on the beds were a bit dated and should be replaced. The rooms were clean and the staff were excellent. Basic breakfast, with the danishes stale and hard on the last morning. Lots to do in the area if you like to explore.

The hotel is okay but sits on train tracks at the back of the hotel, if you get one of these rooms you better be a sound sleeper. I only made one request and that was to be away from the tracks, I have stayed here before and know the noise. They put me one room away from the tracks, did not even look at my request.

You should have been notified about when your room was located and given the opportunity to change your room before you even checked in. Unfortunately, special requests made with online bookings do not always get put through to the hotel. The morning clerk should have been aware of your difficulties and offered you a recompense for your discomfort. You were offered a different room, which you did refuse. The rest of this matter has been dealt with via direct e-mail. Again, my apologies.

We were making an unexpected trip and booked while driving on blu tooth. This Best Western Booking staff was very accommodating and on arrival did everything right with awesome attitude. The booking person tooks us that the rooms at the front had less train noise which she did not have to do. The room was good value and the breakfast help us get on the road a little quicker. Yes we will stay with you again,Salmon Arm Best Western.

Very clean rooms. Exceptionally. Beds are average, not exceptional. Could use upgrading soon. Property is set back off the main highway enough that it was relatively quiet. You will hear the odd train go by though. Staff were lovely. Ample parking.

We had a booking at this hotel as an overnight to Revelstoke. We got caught in a huge storm on Coquihala Pass, and advised them we might be late- when we first got stopped. DriveBC opened the Pass again, so we didn't bother calling. However, they closed it again, and we spent 12 hours on the road sleeping in the car with no cell reception to be able to advise we wouldn't make it. They have refused to refund our booking. I've stayed in Best Western across Canada- I won't be again.

I was truly distressed to read this review. We have never charged anyone who has not been able to make it due to road conditions. It's a hazard of where we are located and happens often. Unfortunately, you never gave your name so I could look up your reservation and make any corrections or restorations. I've stayed in several the last few months as a truck driver. I like the smaller hotel. This place has its character. I like the older and smaller hotels. Staff were experienced. Drawback is small breakfast room.

Stayed here for 2 nights recently. It is Motel style with rooms accessed from outdoors. It is small and well kept. All employees were very friendly from front desk to breakfast to the housekeepers. We stayed in a 2 queen room and it was clean and well laid out. The bathrooms are very small. There was a fridge, microwave & coffee maker in our room. Firmness of beds is a personal preference, but these beds were very firm & I found them too hard for my liking. We were not right at the back, but could hear the train, it did not bother us. I think the property should advertise 'train rooms' on their website & discount the ones at the back so people realize when they are booking & have a choice. This may help reduce complaints from guests. The breakfast area is very small as many others have mentioned. I have seen replies stating that a new area is being built, but I did not observe any sign of this during my stay. I just grabbed a tea & pastry & took it to my room as there was no room to sit at the time. This is a fine little motel & a good value in the area. I would stay again for a night or two or to use as a home base. It was worth the low rate that I paid. I would have a hard time paying more in high season as it is very basic.

Thank you so much for taking the time to review our property. We have a policy to inform any guest, that has booked a particular type of room, if they are near the tracks to expect noise. If they wish, we are more than happy to reassign a different room to them, away from the tracks. We do have quite a few people who book the rooms near the tracks, as they like the noise of the train. Our new breakfast area is now finished and we will be using it when we are busy and have a lot of guests. This should make breakfast a much more enjoyable time. Simple, functional, clean, plenty of parking, basic breakfast, polite staff. It's really a motel. Room was clean and everything was working. However, it was very difficult to sleep with the pillows they have as they were SO SHORT. Pillows were made more like sofa cushions. Not comfortable. Really a basic hotel. I thought the rate was a little too high for what you get. You do get a complimentary breakfast. Not great, not bad. It'd get you going through the day...until lunch. This might be the best hotel in town...I'll look around for other hotels next time I am here.

This hotel is outdated on the inside and is right beside the CP rail line. Our room shook all night as the trains come through every 20 minutes. Brutal!!! It felt like the train was coming through the door!

The Best Western was centrally located for our needs and was clean, comfortable place for us. The room was smaller then we what we normally use but it met our needs for mainly sleeping and showering. We used the continental breakfast once and was disappointed in the selection, taste and accommodating seating area but we did enjoy the hot tub, and the folks we visited with were helpful and friendly. We will stay there again when we return to that area.

Best value for $110 total a night. The place is new and our room had coffee machine, microwave and fridge plus free breakfast, pool and hot tub. Heather at the desk was friendly, courteous and helpful. Of the 10 places we stayed on our BC trip, this was our top pick. Judd VanderZalm Edmonton

Friendly front staff. It's not the best place for light sleepers as the back of the hotel has a railroad track with a large curve. Very loud and shakes the bed. Funny the first time but it grew old fast. The breakfast was ok

Nice hotel laid out like a motel. Everything was super clean and very conformable. Check in and out was great, we got in very late. The front desk is occupied 24 hours a day. Very good breakfast but seemed a little congested probably because of their limited space for the sitting area. The train tracks are right behind the property so you will hear the train moving past but didn't hear any whistles.

Located set back from the main road, this property is modern and well appointed as per usual BW standard. The rooms were very spacious and well equipped with free fast wifi and included breakfast. We stayed just 1 room away from the rear which faces the CPR but due to excellent sound insulation we could not hear the trains at all. Highly recommended.

Best Western was a great stay. We had a mix-up at check in with the room we had requested through Expedia but Heather at the front desk quickly solved our solution making it a great experience. If we were ever back in Salmon Arm, we'd choose the best western again.

Booked one night stay directly with hotel. Queen room was roomy complete with a microwave and mini fridge. Bed clean and comfortable. The hotel was sold out the night we stayed. Shortage of parking stalls in front of rooms. The breakfast was okay (standard fare, cereal, pastries, yoghurt, eggs and sausage, juice, coffee, etc) but eating area is far too small for the size of the motel, especially when it is full. Only complaint I have is, for some reason there is no towel bar in the sink area. (Tub and toilet in separate room). We were forced to just leave it lying on the counter or hang on a clothes hanger to dry.

My husband and I have just stayed at this Best Western for 5 days while cycling in the area. I had booked ahead direct to the hotel. Requested King bed plus microwave and fridge and not at the back of the hotel. On arrival check in staff pleasant and welcoming and our room perfect to our request. It was on the outside corridor,upper floor. Very clean and modern. Housekeeping staff maintain a high standard. Breakfast had a lot of hot and cold choices ( no disposable plates/ cups!) but as others have mentioned on trip adviser it was a bit crowded most mornings. However Dulcy in housekeeping did a wonderful job keeping items topped up and the tables clean AND with a smile. She deserves a medal!. Swimming pool and hot tub really good after a long cycle ride.Others had mentioned noise from the nearby train but although we heard it it certainly wasn't a problem. We were extremely happy with our stay and we could walk into town and down to the wharf. We will certainly return.

Stayed here to break car journey from Calgary to Vancouver. Check in was easy and quick. Room was clean and the bed was very comfy. Bedding was very clean. Surroundings were not too noisy so had a good rest.

We needed a room within driving distance from the Armstrong fair and this hotel suited our needs. Front desk was very friendly upon checkin. The breakfast room is a little bit small and crowded but served the purpose. Some gluten free choices would be nice as my husband has celiac desease. Our queen room was very comfortable and very clean.

We liked that each room had outdoor access as it makes coming and going so much quicker and easier. Parking was our only complaint. Could not get close to our room and we prefer to be able to keep an eye on our vehicle (twice had to park around front of the building). And people going into the lobby did not park in the "lobby parking" but instead right in front of the lobby doors which blocks guests ways in and out. Offered a delicious free full breakfast, each day with scrambled eggs and sausages. Lots of things to choose from for a very good satisfying breakfast. Room shampoos were very nice (actually Pantene) and the lotion smells delicious! Lots of coffee and condiments in the room. Was nice to actually be able to have a couple of cups of coffee if we wanted or we could get a fill in the lobby until breakfast was over! There was a water leak in the room below the last morning we were there, and they thought it was from the tub in our room. It wasn't as we had not even ran the tub yet, but our room was asked to be searched twice. We totally get that they were trying to quickly track down the leak, but we were interrupted twice on our last day trying to organize our leave. But I would definitely stay here again and recommend it! Great quality for the price!

The staff worked hard to make sure I could get early checking while I was waiting for auto repairs. The room was clean and well kept. The location is very good; close to shopping and restaurants in the downtown area.

We stopped for one night and the room was clean and spacious. The receptionist was friendly and helpful too. Plenty of parking for all size vehicles. The back of unit is right next to train tracks, so you may want to request something near the front of complex. Fair price booked online.

Yes, the north end of the hotel is next to the train tracks, and although the train does not blow its' whistle, it does make a noise going down the tracks. We always try to explain this to guests who have rooms there and, if at all possible, if the noise would bother them, we try to get them a room away from the tracks. Second stay at this property, close to the highway, easy to get in and out with a vehicle, within walking distance to downtown, close to a liquor store, rooms where clean with a large flat screen and quiet air conditioner.

The room was good, bed was very good. The breakfast place is very croudy and way too small for so many people. You can't even move there. The eggs are microwaved, very gross. When having someone walking around for breakfast that could do a little better the quality of the food. For the area it's a little expensive I think.

Service wasn't great, found the lady at the front desk a bit unkind; however, my room was immaculate and the bed was very comfortable. Great selection for continental breakfast in the morning, clean breakfast area with TVs and hot coffee. There was a pool and a hot tub, both of which looked well taken care of. Parking was a bit tight, maybe the hotel was full. Would definitely stay here again.

As far as the parking goes, yes the courtyard, where EVERYONE likes to park, gets very full when we are busy, but we do have two other parking lots around the hotel. A very comfortable hotel for us as we were passing through. We found the hotel offered everything we needed for an over night stop over. I am not sure I would stay for an extended amount of time however the room was comfortable and clean. There is an indoor pool which was offered but decided not to use as it was rather stuffy in there.

We really had a great time, the location was perfect. The staff was very kind and helpful. The hotel was very clean and minimal noise. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it highly. The breakfast area was a little tight however. Because of the popularity of the hotel, they might consider enlarging their breakfast room. But the breakfast itself was very good!!

Nice motel, easy access to get to and around other restaurants. Very nice, clean rooms. The breakfast was very nice, although the room is very small but the staff made sure to keep everything filled and ready. We had booked a King Size bed but due to a problem with the door we were not able to have that room and were put in to a room with two Queen beds. While the room was comfortable and the manager helpful we would have thought they might have given us a small discount for not getting what we had booked but other than that, no concerns. Would stay again if in the area.

this is a favorite stopping off spot on the way to vancouver. a lovely little town = lots to see and do. pleasant staff, good location, reasonable size rooms, good breakfast but small, crowded breakfast room - overall good value

Don't stay at the back of the hotel - trains running all night long. I had very little sleep. Room, staff and breakfast were all great. It was nice to have hot options for breakfast. We wanted to book a BW hotel for the next leg of our trip and asked at the front desk if they could do that for us. We were told that they were not able to that and we would have to to that online. It was surprising to me that they could not connect with other hotels in the chain.

I was truly distressed to read this review. We always tell people if their rooms are down by the tracks, and if the noise will bother them, we try to move them to an alternate room further away from the tracks, if we have rooms available. When you book on-line and request a particular type of room, they just put you in whatever room we have open. Booking directly with the hotel would alleviate this. As far as the front desk staff member who told you we not able to book rooms for you somewhere else! I have looked after this immediately and thank you for letting me know. Of course we book reservations at other Best Western Hotels for our guests! This is in our training, so obviously I have to do some further training to do! Again, I apologize for the inconveniences you incurred while staying with us, and hope you will give us another try, so we can show you our improvements.

Super nice lady kindly found us a room.. It was the very last one I think. Basic room, queen bed. Super clean and comfortable. Affordable price. Free breakfast and nice pool and hot tub. We will be back for sure. Compared to the other hotels available we are very happy to have found this one. Tho other choices were over 300 a night or not worth staying at.

Stopped over for one night. Price was fair for what you got. My room was clean, air conditioner worked like a charm and front desk staff were friendly. It's right off the highway and I didn't hear any noise. The morning breakfast that was included in the price of the room was just fine. It had eggs, sausages, waffles, yogurt, cereal, fruit, pastries and coffee. Tip for breakfast....If you use the waffle maker, once you pour the batter in, flip it or it will keep beeping at you. Haha.

On a very busy, very hot summer day, Jim at the front desk was great. He also had a trainee working for him but he handled all our questions with aplomb and when we had a slight issue with our room, he attended to it immediately and dealt with it as well as could be expected. The building is older and the rooms are a bit tired, especially the carpet but it was clean and some updating had been done inside. The location is good, far enough off the highway to be quiet and if you didn't know the railway was right behind you wouldn't have known. We were on the ground floor and heard no noise from above. There are stairs but no elevator. There is a fridge and microwave in the room. We found the beds and pillows comfortable. There is a nice health food store out front. The included breakfast was a bit better than usual with real eggs and a good variety of baked goods though the area to sit was small and can be quite busy first thing. We would definitely stay here again.

Very nice rooms and pleasant staff. Very busy hotel and congested parking. The breakfast room is extremely small and crowded for the number of units. Did like that we were on the ground floor and could park in front of our room. I would stay here again.

Nice motel a little dated but clean and comfortable. The pool was nice and clean. breakfast was not as good as it could have been sausage and eggs need to be piping hot. The salmon arm water slide park is right next door. Overall a good stay. Excellent fresh fruit just down the road. Lots of good restaurants. Beautiful lake with rentals.

The staff at this location were phenomenal. So friendly and helpful, and quick too! The room was average but clean, and the breakfast area is FAR too small. Overall experience is still good and would stay again as long as prices stay affordable.

We enjoyed our stay in this upgraded motel site. great Staff, a lovely big room, super pools and hot-tub. We're into walking and our chosen restaurant was an easy 15 to 20 minutes walk. Excellent! There was a Railway track close by, but we didn't even realise it until we stepped out of room. Everything was nice and quiet.

At the end of a long day the motel was a welcome sight. The room was comfortable although if you have an upstairs room, be prepared to carry your luggage up stairs! The hair dryer built in to the bathroom did not work but a call to the front desk brought a replacement. A nearby pub provided us dinner and a few drinks. The breakfast was adequate but the coffee was poor.

This hotel is ideally located in the centre of town. The rooms are clean and comfortable and well equipped. The staff are excellent. Very friendly and accommodating. The hotel provided a very good hot breakfast which added to the great value for this hotel.

We stayed there just this past weekend ... There was a bike rally going on in a neighboring town and they were nearly full but we managed to get the last room here. 2 adults and 2 tiny toddlers - and we were really pleased! Room was nicely done, very clean - and big bonus, safe for the 2 babies ( no exposed cords and electrical outlets) My daughter enjoyed the pool with the 2 yr old - I enjoyed being cool from the hot evening sun in the room with the baby! I appreciated that we were offered the pool towels at check in and did not have to go back later to ask for them or use our bath towels. Really nice staff here, front desk, maintenance, housekeeping ... Something I enjoy about a stay in smaller towns. Helpful, relaxed and pleasant people work here. Grounds were well maintained, no litter or butts- saw a gentleman making rounds checking for this kind of thing. The big surprise for us was the continental breakfast - We were anticipating the typical fruit and muffin spread and were surprised by the array for breakfast from hot sausages and scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, cereals, muffins,fruit, waffles, toast, you name it, even cookies! I know I am probably missing items that they had present, but it was a welcome surprise to say the last. Staff were topping everything up constantly so it was fresh and hot. Trays were available so we took the breakfast to our room... a relief for all if you have ever seen a 1 and 2 year old eat! Right next door within the same block there was also a grocery store and then a liquor store. We were glad to have them so close and picked up some fruit and organic foods for the next leg of our trip. ( excellent quality grocery store!) The train tracks are near but we found it a non-issue. We were the first floor and third from the end closest to the tracks and we never noticed anything beyond the distant hum of the train - if you listened for it. There were no horns. If it wasn't for my taking a walk around the rear parking lot, I doubt I would have known there were even tracks there.This was one of the quietest rooms we have had honestly. The beds appeared to be new and were very comfortable. Clean, comfortable, nicely appointed and friendly - I wish I encountered more hotels like this in the middle of tourist season - and sincerely wish more city hotels were like this! We will be back and will plan our trip accordingly so this is one of our consistent stay-overs. I recommend this hotel for business people as well!

The rooms are spacious, comfortable and new beds, the motel is clean and good service. The complimentary breakfast is quite good. The motel also provides a swimming pool, what is great of you have teen and kids. Definitely, a safe and good place to spend the night on your way to Vancouver or during your stay in Salmon Arm.

Everything was pretty average about the stay here until the morning when we saw a couple of cockroaches on our door!! I freaked out! Feeling very frustrated that we had all our bags open all night and that I have a baby!!! When my husband approached the front desk, the man at the front shrugged his shoulders and said 'really? Cockroaches?' In an I don't believe you or and I don't care attitude. No customer service what so ever!! NEVER STAYING THERE AGAIN!! probably avoiding best western from now on.

I was truly distressed to read this review. We DO NOT have cockroaches on our property, but we do have rather large bugs that come from the lake that we are right beside. I am very sorry that there was one on the outside of your door when you were leaving. I understand why you freaked, they are rather ugly bugs! The morning clerk should have paid more attention to what you had to say; his performance was not acceptable, and that is not how our staff are trained to deal with customers. Obviously more staff training is in order. Again, I apologize profusely and do hope that you will visit us again so we can show you what we are really like. The room was newly renovated and very clean. Breakfast was very adequate with lots of choices. The room was very large with lots of space and extra tables etc. It was a very popular motel as there was no vacancy and the parking lot was full.

Our stay at this Best Western was great except for the noise from the railroad tracks behind the hotel. Probably better to get a room in the front of the hotel versus the back. The food quality was good. The breakfast room is way too small for the size of the hotel. We ended up eating breakfast outside 2 out of 3 mornings.

over all a great place to stay for a night on the way too or back from Vancouver from Calgary. the beds were comfortable and the rooms clean. the location right off the hwy makes for getting going in the morning very quick.

We have stayed at this hotel many times over the past few years and felt it to be amongst the best in Salmon Arm. Excellent rooms with comfy beds, good facilities and priced more or less the same as all the comparable hotels in the area. They are making a good effort to be as green as they can and it will be very nice when we can get back to see the much needed expansion for the breakfast room. Breakfast is the usual BW style, maybe a little higher quality than some around the area. The staff are excellent and always helpful, with a good knowledge of the area.

Clean and comfortable, but rather expensive. Could not use in-room coffee maker because plug-ins in sight did not work. Bathroom rather small. Had expected more for the price. To be honest, this was the first time I stayed with family at this establishment.

Room was large and equiped with a fridge and microwave. Very comfortable beds. We had a ground floor room which made loading and unloading the vehicle extremely easy. Located close to all amenities. Would definately stay there again.

Right from check in it was a very pleasant experience. The staff were very helpful and the room was the cleanest I have seen in a long time at a hotel. It was very quiet at night. Close to lots of amenities. It was more than I wanted to pay but worth the money.

When we arrived at the Best Western in Salmon Arm we were greeted by very friendly and helpful staff. I have some mobility issues and we had been booked on an upstairs room. She asked if we would like to have it changed. She changed it and upgraded us. The room was very nice, the bed very comfy and the shower was the best we have had so far on this trip. My only complaint would be the breakfast area. It is way to small for the size of the hotel. Don't really know how it could be changed. The breakfast was very good with lots of choice. The pool and hot tub were very nice and the area was very clean.

My husband and I spent a day and a night in Salmon Arm. We hadn't been there for a number of years so were pleasantly surprised at the facilities in the town: lovely walks, a great wharf, a nice Mexican Restaurant, and very good accommodation at the best Western. The best Western is right off the main highway through town. It has a very nice up scale market next to it with a bistro on the top floor serving deli style food. It is licensed. There is also a pub within walking distance. There is a water slide close by for kids and a casino across the highway for adults. it's a bit of a walk into town if you are older but younger people would have no difficulty doing it. The area around the facility is all flat and easy walking. The facility is an older motel style but the inside has all been updated and extremely clean. The whole property is clean. The beds are very good and all the rooms have air conditioning and a fridge. the rooms are a bit dark but they make up for it on the cleanliness and the beds.The property has a pool in it's own facility--indoor. We didn't use it but it looked inviting and very clean. The staff were friendly and efficient. The breakfast was the typical Best Western but there was plenty and the dining area was organized and clean. The whole area has lots of beaches and water activities and is geared to tourists. We enjoyed our stay at the Best Western and would recommend it to anyone--young or older. B Ferguson

Located just off of the highway so very easy to get too. Pub with good food a two minute walk away. Breakfast room a bit small for the number of guests but there was a quick turnover. Really nice woman at check-in and very quick efficient young man on check-out.

Dear Diane O. I apologize for the inconveniences incurred when you stayed with us. Unfortunately, you booked through Expedia, and pre-paid your room to them. We collected no money from you and we did not set the rate, Expedia did. Therefore, I was unable to adjust your rate but did inform you that if you called Expedia and they were willing to reduce the amount they charged, I was willing to accommodate them. You refused to call them. Also, you checked in really late and our pool was closing in half an hour. I volunteered to leave it open longer if you wanted to use it, you said you did. I left it open 45 minutes longer than usual. No one was in the pool house when I went to close it down, yet you said we only left it open 15 minutes past closing time. I am truly sorry that you were so unhappy with your stay with us. We tried to be accommodating to all that you wanted or needed, as we do with all our guests, but unfortunately our hands were tied on some of the things you requested. I hope that you will stay with us again and we can show you how accommodating the staff is and how beautiful the accommodations are.

Great hotel. Rooms are large & clean, breakfast is great and met the needs of our children. The staff is friendly and helpful. The kids enjoyed the pool. We will stay here again in the future and reccomend to others.

Stayed here one night as a stop over point, motel has been very recently refurbished - our room (215) was huge! There was a pool and hot tub for use however due to a large children's group of lacrosse players the pool was taken over. Breakfast was basic but good, however again we came across the lacrosse team so what could have been nice was turned in to waiting and jumping at any spare table (before someone that doesn't know how to queue does!) and not being able to see or get to any food or drink without a wait. The breakfast area needs reviewing and expanding to cater for the amount of rooms. Not much around unless you are willing to drive - which we didn't want to do due to driving a lot each day.

On the whole a nice stay. Negatives - our room (120) stunk of cigarette smoke and the air conditioner didn't work properly. We were by the pool and there were lots of flying bugs. Positives - clean, comfy beds and the breakfast was great, wifi worked well. Front desk staff friendly and helpful. This is not a pet friendly hotel, although one website said it was. Pub next door and Chances casino across the street

Thank you for taking time from your busy day to review our property. I was upset to hear your complaint about the smell of smoke in your room. Our hotel is fully non smoking and has been for a few years now. Our housekeepers are very careful to use special machines to purify the room if someone has the ill manners to smoke in the room. We have just installed brand new HVAC systems in all the rooms, for air conditioning and heating, thereby making the older models, that are on the back wall, obsolete. They have been disconnected. If notified, the front desk would have either been able to fix the air conditioner, or move you to another room. We don't want our guests to be inconvenienced in any way. Also, the same is true for the smoke smell, we would have happily moved you to a different room if you had let us know. Unfortunately, there is not much we can do about the flying bugs that are attracted by our lights, as we are right next to the lake. I hope that we will see you again in the future. A very nice place for the cost. Friendly staff, clean comfortable room. The breakfast was very good. Our room was in the back and we could hear the train at first but it did not disturb us during the night. There were a lot of bugs flying around the back area of the grounds. Probably because of the proximity to the lake.

The room was clean. The bed was very comfy. The hotel was an excellent choice for convenience of a lacrosse tournament. The parking was not great as there was no set parking and people would park in front of your room.

Was vary relaxing environment, king size bed nice and soft , but the pillows were to thick, could hear and feel the train go buy, parking was hard if you own a pickup, very nice pool, very nice staff......, I was impressed with the breakfast, fresh scramble eggs, sausages, waffles, hash browns, cereals, pastries, and of course..... Coffee.... Very good continental breakfast

This was the first night out on a cross continental road trip. The hotel location was fine. the pool useful as it had been a hot day. The rooms were rather dark, but like most BW, the rooms were adequate and the breakfast standard. I would stay here again.

First time staying at this hotel in Salmon Arm. Price was reasonable, has pool and hot tub and includes breakfast. The hotel was busy during check-in (~8pm on Thursday night) so waited about 10-15 minutes. 2 other parties arrived at about same time. Got checked in (we were on 2nd floor by the back of the hotel near pool). Rooms were a bit dated (perhaps they haven't got to these rooms for the renos yet). There were trains we could hear as we are close to the tracks however even though trains run all night it didn't wake us up. Pool was ok (didnt go in though) and hot tub was warm and needed some cleaning. Breakfast was better than average as it included waffles, cereal, some hot food (cooked in plastic in the microwave), yogurt, coffee, tea, bread, muffins etc. I didn't eat the microwave cooked scrambled eggs. The kitchen staff was very busy and kept everything well stocked and organized.

Four of us stayed in a couple of rooms which had been recently refurbished. The rooms were of a good size and well equipped for this type of facility. The beds were comfortable and the units were quiet. We would have liked to be able to open a window - they are all fixed. This meant that we had to run the air conditioner all night. It is a newer generation and makes considerably less noise than the old ones which are still mounted in the wall. We were pleasantly surprised at the great selection of items at breakfast which is included in the room price. We did not use the pool. We would stay here again.

It's a decent place but they have a lot of workers staying there who take over the free breakfast from 700 AM till 800 AM. No place to sit for seniors who get up early. Small seating area. Lots of "Yahoos" on the weekend who make a lot of noise but not all night

Picked this hotel as smoking is allowed. The rooms were quite dirty. The "hide a bed" I wouldn't even sit on never mind sleep. A request made for a microwave a month in advance was not honored and took 3 hrs before it was brought room, plunked down and not even plugged in. So unless your a smoker, do NOT waste your money. The cleanliness was almost non existent, service was poor.

do not expect to sleep, 2mile long trains 2-3 times an hour all night, as close as your backyard , Furniture rattles, bed thumps. who thought building a motel this close to the main east/west rail line was a good idea???

We stayed here for one night at the end of April. We are a family of four and stayed in a double queen room and I would rate this place 3.5 stars. We checked in after 10pm and it was a struggle to find parking as we were the last guests to arrive and they were sold out. There are train tracks at the back of the parking lot and trains do go by regularly, depending on where your room is located and how sensitive of a sleeper you are, it may affect how well you sleep. I was the only one in my family who heard the trains and our room was on the 2nd floor and half way between the front and the back parking lot. Although there are no elevators, accessing the room from the stairs was manageable, I could see how elderly people would struggle with their luggage. The room was well laid out and the beds were comfortable. Everyone enjoyed their sleep and the room had a decent shower. The free buffet breakfast was a great way to start the day....there was lots of variety and we got there at a good time as there was plenty of seating as well. We did not get to utilize the pool, it was closed when we arrived and was not open until after we left in the morning. It looked nice, it was in a separate building and looked well maintained. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would choose to stay here again as a layover for the long drive from Vancouver Island to Alberta.

The great staff that greeted us was just the beginning of a very comfortable stay. We only checked in for 1 night on our way to Vancouver. The breakfast was wonderful and the cheery staff a warm way to start the day. Very comfortable beds and Wifi was pretty good too.

I was looking for a place to stay overnight between Calgary and Vancouver. I considered a few options based on searches at the various on line hotel websites. I found that booking direct with Best Western and using CAA membership gave the best rate along with the flexibility to cancel on check in day if my plans changed. When I arrived at the Salmon Arm Best Western the check in experience was great, room very clean and quiet. Breakfast was good with great service. Internet was reliable and fast.

We stayed one night on our way home to Boston from Victoria. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and pleasantly decorated. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hot complimentary breakfast was one of the best we've had in a hotel of this class--scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, sausage, hot oatmeal, batter to make your own waffles, fresh fruit, and a wide variety of pastries and muffins, all very fresh and good. One small detail that mattered to me--the towels were soft, but not slick from fabric softener--a sign that someone knows their business and pays attention to details.

Nice hotel with clean rooms and usual BW breakfast. Actually had tea pots to make tea in...nice touch. Pool looked great even though we didn't use it, lots of others were using it. Our room was at the back of the hotel which I thought meant it would be quiet. Unfortunately, that put us right next to the train tracks and some track maintenance that was happening most of the night with loud hammering and pinging noises as well as the trains coming past several times in the night which didn't make for a very restful sleep. Otherwise, it was quite a decent place and we enjoyed our stay in Salmon Arm.

I was sorry to read this review. Unfortunately the rooms at the north end of the hotel are near the main tracks running through Salmon Arm, but you should have been warned of this fact when you checked in. If there were any other rooms available you should have been offered one of them. This is being brought up to see if we can prevent this from happening again. (Fortunately we have a great deal of people who like the train noise!) I hope that you will give us a chance to serve you again in the future, and see that we have corrected this matter. Until then, safe travels!

Thank you to the check-in clerk who arranged a different room to accommodate our needs. Thanks you to the breakfast staff for your helpfulness. The free breakfast had enough variety to provide for our desires and it was nice to be able to fill our travel mug with coffee.

Very comfortable hotel. Clean and easy access to downtown. We have traveled a lot and this is the first hotel ever that had two luggage racks. Usually one rack and the other suitcase is either on the floor or on the desk. Good staff with easy check in and out.

Nice motel, although no elevator. Although part of the motel was closed for renovation the check-in clerk was able to change us to a ground floor, which really helped. Very friendly, helpful staff. Good breakfast, although that room was a little small for the number of visitors. Someone else had commented about train noise - but even when one went by right behind the motel, we barely heard it.

As with most Best Western locations, this location exceeds expectations. King room includes fridge and microwave as well as work desk and table and chairs etc, all for a very reasonable price. Pool and hot tub area is in a separate building but is impeccably clean and well kept. Hot breakfast with eggs and waffles etc was nicely done.

Over the years this had been one of my favorite places to stay, then the property began to deteriorate and seemed like no one cared. While planning this trip I noticed on the web page that renovations had been undertaken and so thought I would give this place that had so many fond memories of our times when the boys were small a chance. Beds are comfy, no fridge, no microwave.... access to rooms from the outside, same goes for the pool and hot tub , separate building. Not so good when it's cold out. Continental Breakfast available, waffles, scrambled eggs and sausage for hot choices. It was just ok.

I was unhappy to read your review. I am sorry you were not so pleased with your stay. If you had requested a fridge and a microwave they would have been provided for you immediately. We are renovating right now and moving the fridges and microwaves around before we supply them to every room. I apologise that your room is one that did not have one when you checked in. We try to exceed our guests expectations on every stay and are unhappy when we come up short. I am sorry that there is nothing I can do about the pool and hot tub being in their own building, but it is very close to all the rooms and it is sound proof if we have children playing in the pool! I do hope you will give us another chance and stay with us again in the future.

We stayed here for the second time on our way through town and enjoyed it once more. The rooms are very clean, bed was comfy, lot's of t.v. channels to choose from, coffee and toiletries supplied. The continental breakfast was good, lot's to choose from and they have a waffle machine which we love. The place was packed but didn't hear a peep out of anyone. Didn't get a chance to use the pool and hot tub this time but it was nice last time we used it. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Would stay again for sure.

Great clean motel close to all amenities and just off the highway. Would definitely stay there again. The person serving breakfast was extremely nice and assisted us in recommending restaurants nearby for dinner.

Stayed for 4 nights end of February. The hotel is ok. Rooms were spacious and had a microwave and fridge. Although i was sick in bed for a couple days they didn't change the sheets when they made the room up....would have been nice. Breakfast was typical powdered eggs and waffle. Staff was pleasant and helpful.

A very clean and comfortable room. We would stay here again. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Close to restaurants. We were able to choose a Hot breakfast as well as many other options, cold cereal and pastries were available.

Pleasant surroundings and very pleasant and clean property. I would stay here again, no question! Starting from the entrance onto the property, the lobby, the rooms, all were well taken care off. The staff very friendly and helpful. Plus the price was right!

I am generally pretty good about sleeping in adverse situations. I used to be in the military and have slept in some weird places and some shady hotels. Unfortunately, this was the first time my room was right next to what seemed to be a thriving and active train yard with activity going on ALL NIGHT LONG!!! I'm sure most of the rooms weren't that bad, but I was driving through and stopped after 10pm, too tired to keep driving. I got one of the few remaining rooms which was closest to the tracks. Wow. All I'm gonna say. The room itself was clean enough, and comfortable. The hotel seemed like it would have been alright, although I found it pricey for the quality. But. Trains!!!

This is a great hotel. Comfy beds and has hot & cold breakfast. Good customer service. Clean. We would stay again and highly recommend. Pool was closed but hope it will be open next stay. The price was good, glad to get discount.

Just needed a place to stay on the way up to Revelstoke. This place was clean and had everything you'd want. Breakfast was nice, plenty of parking and hot tub with a pool. Nothing over the top which is nice to keep their expenses down to keep my expenses down. I want them to stay in business so I can have what i need at a great price. All I need is a bed and warm room. That's what you get. Definitely worth every penny.

Pulled in a night, with our dog. Staff was great, had free WiFi, Our room was super quiet and I enjoyed they had a pool, Rooms were clean, and overall would come again, even got a discount, that's great stuff

Our two daughters were driving back to Saskatchewan from B.C. and stopped in here at 10 pm on their way through. The beds were very comfortable, with lots of pillows. They didn't hear any noise, but they were pretty tired, so don't know about that. The complimentary breakfast was excellent--waffles, eggs, sausages, toast, yoghurt, cereal, assorted muffins and rolls, fruit--all good. The staff was friendly and helpful. And best of all, it only cost them $100 for them both!

We arrived late and needed somewhere to crash. This place was perfect: - just off the highway - amazingggg breakfast (waffles, eggs, sausages, cereal, muffins/strudels, fruit, yoghurt, toast etc. - rooms were very tidy, big, clean, and had all the amenities one would need (toiletries, towels, microwave, hair dryer, cable tv, pen & paper), plus table and chairs My greatest surprise was the pool. Sadly I didn't have time to use it but the fact they had it, wow! For all the above I was very happy with their price for a couple!

This is a very clean and neat hotel with very good staff. All this at a great value. The indoor pool and hot tub was an added pleasure that we truly enjoyed. The location on the highway was perfect and was easy to get anywhere in Salmon Arm we wanted to go. The rooms were also quiet and this we really valued.

My overall impression was good. Had a comfy king size bed with lots of pillows. We stayed for two nights though after the first night they called our room to see why we had not checked out! We booked on booking.com so not sure if there was an issue there. Also, we did confirm on check-in that it was for two nights. The grounds were amazingly clean! The pool and hot tub was nice and clean. The complimentary breakfast was standard fare that included hot eggs and sausage.

Room was clean & had all we needed. The staff was very friendly &the location ...across the road from the Casino gave me something to do while the husband watched hockey. There is a Pub close by...within walking distance.. for dinner & a drink. No need to worry about driving. Good variety of food choices for breakfast at the Hotel as well.

Stayed at room farthest from the railrooad tracks (room 240 second floor, non-smoking), so I guess that's why we didn't get the noise that other reviewers were complaining about and maybe rare that there maybe other guests that are too loud during a stay. In our case the hotel seemed fully booked and lots of guests but it was still quiet and not much noise as reviewed even if this room is near the main Highway. Room was clean, amenities include fridge, tv, wifi internet, breakfast, it was a good place to stay in Salmon Arm.

Stopped in here on may way from Vancouver to Lethbridge. Pleasant front desk service, quick check in, room plain but clean and fresh. Pleasantly surprised by the in house breakfast which included actually hot scrambled eggs and sausages. Attendant there was bright and friendly. Absolutely would recommend.

Great place to stay, clean, good service and close to amenities. Great pub within walking distance. Lots to see in Salmon Arm, shops, restaurants and antique shops. Close to the Shuswap Lake where there is an abundance of water activities.

This is a great place to stay between Calgary and Vancouver. Our room appeared to have been recently renovated. New paint, new carpets, bathroom fixtures, etc. So new the microwave and fridge while working hadn't been installed in their cabinet yet. The continental breakfast is adequate. However the room is small, and the food layout leaves a little to be desired. Overall rating-very good.

The Best Western Salmon Arm Inn is a pretty average place for the price. We've stayed in hotels in Vancouver and Victoria for the same price and Salmon Arm is definitely not Vancouver or Victoria ..... The bed was comfortable enough but the pillows were terrible and we DID hear the trains going by all day and night and noise from other rooms as well. For that reason we wouldn't stay there again.

Right on the highway enroute to Kamloops. Reception was friendly and fast. The room was spacious and well appointed. We found it very quiet and slept well in comfortable beds after a long day of driving. Microwave, fridge and coffee machine all added to the convenience and comfort. Breakfast was plentiful and included a hot selection amongst bakery items, cereals, fruit, yogurt etc. Certainly no need to leave hungry. We wanted for nothing more, hence the rating.

Great beds. Excellent shower. Friendly efficient staff. Excellent location. It is right across the street from Chances Casino. Also, right on the main highway. Close to lots of restaurants & shopping.

It is a good thing most people do not have axes to grind, for whatever unknown reason, when they write reviews. We stayed here a year ago and wrote a good review. This time we had another very pleasant stay. Affordable and clean. Yes, the train does pass by but inside our room we could not hear it. The staff was very professional and helpful. Breakfast was fresh and offerings were enough and satisfying. Over all a very good place to stay!
