poor service in the dining area and room service , low quality and quantity of food , inacceptable internet performance

My husband and I stayed 5 nights in a terraced studio at an annex building 2 minutes from the main one. The room was spacious and had a walk-in closet which was extremely handy at the time. Every morning we enjoyed a varied breakfast on the picturesque terrace of the main building and every evening we had a swim in the pool in the basement of ours. We also had a chance to try the massage and to check out the fitness room. The service was great, the staff friendly and polite, the location immaculate. The only two things that I missed were a harder (or just newer) mattress and a kettle — the coffee machine came with water boiling functionality but it wasn't that good :) It would be nice to stay in Best Western Plus Hotel Alpenhof once again.

My wife and I went back to her place of youth. We stayed in a few different hotels while Oberstdorf in and liked the Best Western the most.

Welcoming staff/clean rooms/exceptional well presented food. Really good size indoor pool with ideal external sun bathing area on grassland. Comfortable bedding/ daily housekeeping first class and good underground parking ( chargeable ) is a bonus. Well organised, well run family hotel with different options for dining area. Only negatives is the lighting in the bathroom could be brighter.

Stayed here numerous times before. Although being Best Western Diamond Select no upgrade apart from a southward facing room. Comfort (standard) room was small, but sufficient. Many amenities, good wifi. Not a fan of the ballon like pillows and duvets. Breakfast buffet still one of my favourites worldwide. Will happily return.

We chose this hotel because of its facilities. The heated indoor pool with two saunas and a steam bath is lovely. The mountain view is stunning, breakfast buffet is sufficient and the staff very friendly. Our rooms were located in another building 50m away from the main building.

Stayed 3 nights in what appears to be Europe's endless summer weather this year. Scenery all around is breathtaking and the township of Oberstdorf is charming. Hotel is clean and well maintained. Our room was booked through a travel agent on this occasion and was on ground floor looking at the car park. We would do between 50 and 100 hotel nights per year between work and leisure and have found third party booking systems with lowest pricing nearly always are allocated the worst room in the hotel. We are best western rewards members and could not add this stay to our profile as we didn't book with best western directly...... All that aside the hotel staff were great, breakfast was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Great eating places throughout Oberstdorf are all a comfortable walk from the hotel. Would love to come back in winter and see this place covered in snow.... photo is from winter garden room where breakfast is served.

What a lovely hotel. A little out of the town centre but well worth it for mountain views, extraordinary peace and a terrific team who offer great, great, great service. In September it is mainly couples who are here to enjoy the beautiful lounges and decent food.

We stayed four nights at this hotel and felt that it falls well short of being a 4 star superior hotel as it claims to be. Our room was very small and not much space to move around in. The room was not very clean and the door didn't lock properly. The breakfast in the hotel restaurant was good and the hotel staff were friendly, but there was never a bartender at the bar, the public areas were not very clean, and parking was inadequate. I'd give this place maybe 3 stars. We found out too late that there are much nicer hotels in the area at cheaper prices.

We had a lovely room with a balcony overlooking a large meadow and the mountains. The room offered all the amenities one could want and a seating area, very spacious. They have an excellent bilingual staff, terrific food and great location to easily enjoy the town and surrounding area. They have their own parking garage, too. We will definitely try to come back to this beautiful part of the world.

We stayed here for one night on our way to a hiking trip in the Alps. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful, although unfortunately they did not inform us of the gym and sauna downstairs which would have been quite welcome on our very rainy night. Our room was large pleasant and very clean. The food in the dining room was quite good with a gorgeous view of the Alps.

Scenic location. Well appointed and maintained. The single room I occupied was more spacious and better furnished than single rooms normally are in European hotels. Varied and attractively laid out breakfast buffet.

The location, the building and amenities, the wellness area, the restaurant and the staff were great. Having said that, the only thing that would have bothered me is if I had been in the room my sister was in. We both had single rooms, in the cheaper category because they were all booked out. They both looked out over the street, which was ok because it's fairly quiet. Mine was generous, had a nice sofa to watch TV, a balcony, lots of windows and a coffee/ tea maker. I was happy. My sister however had a tiny room on the third floor, which was the same price, and she wasn't able to move to my room when I went home a couple of days earlier. That was a pity, although the staff were otherwise very helpful and provided lots of information about all sorts of things. The cosmetician was fabulous. Her Ayurvedic massages were relaxation pure. Restaurant was very good, I would recommend the a la carte menu rather than the dinner included (unless you want to eat 4 courses every night ) because you have more choice. Sitting in the glass extension in the dining room with the view over the fields and mountains was very special!

The standard double rooms: cramped and noisy. Internet: flaky. Housekeeping: inadequate. We had to ask for our sheets to be changed, after five days. The cups in the room smelled of coffee. We used the glasses to drink milk and the next day we found them overturned, as if they had been washed, but with visible residue of milk at the bottom. Our hand soap only got replaced after a week. Some of the staff were curt if not dowright rude. They refused to aknowledge a 7 euro mistake in our bill. Breakfast : average. A general feeling of them trying to sqeeze money out of the guests, without being interested in them coming back.

beautiful setting and wonderful hotel with perfect view of the mountains and meadows. great rooms great internet and great food. within minutes walk of town centre and access to cable cars and ski lifts for going up nebelhorn, well worth a visit, would be happy staying in this hotel when ever possible, definitely visit again

We stayed at this hotel over the weekend and enjoyed it. We had a Suite with balcony and south view (towards the open space and the mountains) and were located on the third floor. The view was great and we enjoyed the peaceful setting. The suite was good. It had a spacious living room with a corner with desk etc. for working. The main beds were in a small separate room, the third bed was in the main room with a separate corner. Shower and WC were two separate rooms which is a bit annoying. Wireless Internet was free, available and worked. The pool was good too and the room already contained a prepacked bag with all the towels etc. you needed for the pool/sauna area. Parking was ok too, but the free parking spaces of the hotel are limited.

We had a nice, quiet room in a side building, 50m from the main building with a wonderful view on the mountains. Town centre and main sites are easy to reach by bus, car or by feet. The building included a small sauna and pool, a bigger wellness area was in the main building. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We had booked half pension; dinner included a five course meal of good quality with a choice between meat, fish and a vegetarian dish as main course.

Seldom, there is not a single thing that a hotel can't make better. Here that is the case: from the spacious room, the high quality duvets, the perfect breakfast buffet served in an attractive winter garden, the nice pool/sauna/steam bath area to the polite and attentive staff, everything was just great. Our new home away from home in Obersdorf.

Spent a week here in apparently the busiest week of the summer and it was quiet, calm and perfect. Fantastic location on the edge of town with fields stretching out to the mountains . Managed to arrive a day early , late at night and the guy on the desk could not have been more helpful .

This is a complete over priced hotel. First thing to know, don't stay here if you are below 45 year old, the hotel is focused on really senior guests. Second, as most of its guests are over 70, they don't care about the internet working or not. Unfortunately, many rooms don't reach the wireless connection or it has a very slow speed. Third, if you don't pay a lot extra, the cheaper and average rooms don't have views to the mountains, be aware. Fourth, the breakfast focuses on the quantity, rather than the quality. Fifth, the owners are quite stingy so the same goes for the policy of the hotel. You have to pay for absolutely every detail not included in the contract that you sign at the check in. Even the most expensive rooms have shortcomings, which are solvable paying another extra…Last but not least, the service is quite sad. They give the impression of being annoyed by the guests, really depressing…
