Room was clean. One of the sheets out of 2 queen beds had a fading stain mark. I asked the reception to replace them, and they provided me more sheets but didn't offer to replace the sheets or room! The room was surprisingly a connecting room with a door to another room, which wasn't mentioned on the booking page. It did cause some disruption on the first night when I could hear the TV and general conversation after mid night during sleep hours coming in from the next door. Surprisingly, I could hear convos from the room behind as well without any door connection, so it might be that the walls are actually quite thin. No issues besides the first night for me anyway. Breakfast was alright for the price. Overall it was comfortable besides these above issues I mentioned. Bathrooms don't have any exhaust. Giving 3 stars because of stained sheets only. Would have provided 4 if not for that.
On the plus side the bed was comfortable and new. The bathroom was mostly clean and modern with a lovely walk-in shower. On the other side of the equation the hotel is an older property, carpets are old and furniture is dated and well used with mis-matched cushions on the sofa in our room. The carpet beside the bed in our room was hard and "crunchy" for lack of a better word. Obviously something had been spilled there in the past and never cleaned appropriately. My real annoyance though was the fact that upon check-in they double charged my credit card for our stay plus took a $100 "security deposit". When I questioned the front desk staff about the double charge they told me it was standard procedure and that I would be credited the over charge plus the security deposit upon check-out. This did indeed happen but I found the whole process of double charging rather slimy. I short there were some positives but all in all not up to the standards that I would expect from a Best Western property.
We were pleased from arrival through departure. Our check in was smooth, quick and easy. A small arrival gift was given and received. The staff was knowledgeable and extremely helpful. Parking on site was convenient as well. Our room was clean and well stocked with everything we needed. It was a pleasant experience for the entire time.
Room was clean, bed was comfortable. Pillows were firm, but not too firm. Just right. Staff very friendly. Bottled water and oreo cookies are complementary offering. Location was convenient for I-95 access, to and from. Reasonably good eateries nearby.
The service was beyond great , I felt welcomed immediately through the door with smiles and members waiting to assist me. My check in was ultra smooth thanks to Sydney and her expertise. 10/10 rating would definitely recommend especially if your coming in from and other city !!!
The mattress was the worst I've ever encountered. Until this point, even if a bed wasn't to my preference I could still sleep; this mattress was like a rock, no exaggeration. Horrible. Also, touted as “non-smoking” , but the smell of weed hit you outside the hotel doors. It was being smoked everywhere, the corridors were enough to get high just breathing. “Breakfast “ was a closet with 40 people trying to get in all at once. Out of everything, lady makes waffles and brings them out to your table 15 minutes later. Juice dispenser marked as out of order for all except the orange juice. Very sketchy crowd, felt very unsafe and uncomfortable. I've never had a worse stay at any hotel. Will never stay at another Best Western hotel.
Everything was perfect . I like staying at best Western chains the rewards are fantastic. Free nights add up quick & the special offers sent to my email are great bonus rewards also, earns me a free stay even faster. I look forward to my rewards for this stay added to my account.
I stayed here to break up a long drive, then booked it for my return trip. The positive reviews were very accurate. This is in the top 5 of all hotels I have stayed at for cleanliness. Staff is very friendly and kind. Lots of families using the pool. Happy vibe at breakfast. Super affordable. Easy access to lots of restaurants, a movie theater, gas. If you are sensitive to road noise, ask for a room on the pool side. This is not the quietest place due to it's location, but hands down, it's the best value in a 50 mile radius.
Great for a quick overnight stay if your heading to DC it's only 45 minutes away and a third of the price I have stayed a few times and have always gotten the king suite. This 4th of July weekend it was 30% more than I was paying but still cheaper than in DC proper.
Outstanding and perfect choice always perfect. Always happy to be here. Location is perfect. We are happy
The hotel is undergoing renovations so don't be scared when you arrive. The inside looks MUCH better than the outside. The staff is very friendly, the rooms clean and spacious, breakfast is ok. The pool is outside and closes at 8pm. If you want to sleep, watch tv and be comfortable and not break the bank, then stay here. NOTE: you cannot log on to your Netflix on their TV and the TV GUIDE is off on the channels. Bring a book!
In town in Laurel near Main Street. Hotel in good condition, good breakfast and good value for the money.
Very pleasant stay! Friendly staff, Ross, KJ, Isis and Andy were very friendly and hospitable. Good breakfast and clean rooms. Thank you for the wonderfuk stay and friendly service. Please continue providing exceptional experiences. Will stay again.
There was a bug in my room but they moved me to another room and all went well. I would book with this hotel again in the future.
Staff was excellent-hotel features (room internet, breakfast ) was really good. Very minor problems wish water pressure in shower was a little higher. Miseed a couple cable channels BUT wish they had access to hotel using pass keys on side door parking lot.Always had to go thru front door.Again Staff and hotel were pretty darn good
This property is great value for money. Staff were very pleasant at check-in and check-out; the room was a good size, very clean, with comfortable beds. The breakfast was among the best, if not the best, that I've had in a b'n'b type hotel. The worker in the breakfast area was diligent in keeping tables and other surfaces clean and even voluntarily made my waffle for me while I collected other breakfast things.
Staff was friendly, the rooms were clean. Bed was a bit too hard for me. Overall enjoyed the stay and would return.
It is very comfortable and homey here. Very easy accessible. It has all the we need when we visit. The staff is always ready to jump in and help make our extra nice. The breakfast is wonderful. The check in and out process is great,
Checked in here to rest after celebrating NYE at a friend's house in Virginia. My family were too exhausted to head straight home to Maryland after the festivities. After reading the reviews, we decided to stop at this Best Western and sure enough it is confirmed - very clean rooms, quiet, excellent location for restaurants, free hot breakfast, etc. The only 2 negatives are: I took a shower around 2:30am and the temperature was barely hot so I had to hurry up and get out of the shower and that the hotel is still under construction therefore the from of the lobby is an obstacle course, see photos.
Hotel has been totally renovated inside, outside just being completed, but no interference or noise with guests. Very good staff, room was super clean and king bed was very comfortable. Breakfast had limited choices, but was OK. Restaurant was nearby (TexMex). Enough lighting in rooms and spacey. Great value!
The service and the room was pretty decent. It was clean. They only need to hasten the renovation for more parking convenience. The staff were very warm . Breakfast was pretty decent as well. But could offer more varieties.
On the outside it is not inspiring. There is construction going on and it's tucked in between like a car dealership and other non-hotel businesses. I was worried as I drove up. But inside, it's its own little world. It is EXTREMELY clean. The breakfast was actually satisfying and the staff were friendly. The room was great. The only thing I would like to see is, as they replace their mini-fridges, that they use ones that have a separate freezer compartment. We had some frozen things we wanted to stay frozen, and the back wall of the mini-fridge was not up to the task. We slept great and it was conveniently located for where we needed to be. Very fair pricing as well.
This was our first stay at this BW as we visit the are frequently we decided to try a new hotel. Staff was amazing, hotel very clean & easy access. We will stay here again on our travels. Again thank you to the staff for great cutomer service!
Bathrooms appear to be all new, no tub but easy to step in shower. Nice vanity. New carpet and furnishings in guest room. Very comfortable mattress. Plenty of receptacles on nightstand for charging. Breakfast was ....disappointing. Nothing special, cold biscuits & gravy
I stay at this hotel with reward points the hotel charged me anyway causing my Netflix to be turn off, because they took the money without permission. They took money from my account when I shouldn't have been charged . I reached out to the manager and was told everyone make mistakes and he can't compensate for my loses. Poor customer service. The manager don't care about his customers only money. I had to use a different card to get my Netflix turn back on and they manager say tuff. He want even offer to replace my points for this stay. I am never staying here again and if you are smart beware .
*** Alert - construction work and no swimming pool . Extremely noisy *** Looked at google and Expedia and booked this hotel room. It was convenient for us to g around Laurel .. lots of restaurants / Dunkin etc around this hotel . Check in was easy and quick .. the hotel room itself was good . Beds were good . They had a TV with lots of channels , microwave , fridge etc. the real trouble started the next day morning . After 8 am we heard thumping noise outside and people were doing work .. construction work . It was irritating and unbearable noise levels . I wished they finished it in 30 mins but it kept going from 8 - 12 noon. Headache for all of us in the room. They didn't even mention it while checking in. Parking is wierd . With so much construction , there is hardly any parking available in the front . Had 2 tough days and we couldn't relax at all with the noise levels . Will never book this hotel again …
I had booked the hotel for 2 nights, March 26th and 27th. I've had very good experiences with Quality Inns in the past, and the pictures of this one looked nice. My plans changed last minute on the 26th, so I called the actual hotel and spoke to Kim. I told her I wouldn't be down on the 26th, as plans had changed, but I would be there the 27th. She said it was non refundable, which I get and said okay. She then asked me if I had booked a smoking room. I said no, I only book non smoking rooms. She said they had put me in a smoking room, but THEY WOULD CHANGE THAT FOR THE SECOND NIGHT. I said thank you and see you on the 27th. She said they look forward to my visit. When I went to check in on the 27th, they had no record of my reservation! I had my reservation number and gave that to them. They said that because I didn't show up the 1st night, their computer system automatically assumes that I will not be coming at all and cancels all nights associated with that reservation number. I would need to pay again to get another room. So, like a fool, I did. I was tired. I wish I hadn't!! The pictures on the website were deceiving!! The place was an absolute dump!! Lobby was clean. But as I walked to my room(one of those doors on the outside hotels), I noticed that the walkways ceiling was caving in at places, and the air conditioning unit covers for a lot of rooms were broken and smashed, almost like they had been kicked in. The room was atrocious!! It looks like it had never been updated. No working smoke detector or phone, no sprinklers, no directions and maps of where to go in emergency. There was a big red stain by the side of the bed that I'm hoping was just spilled paint. The chair was stained and disgusting. The carpet was absolutely filthy and my socks were almost black from walking on it. There were coffee packets yet no coffee maker. No fridge, alarm clock or hair dryer. Rhr lamp on the night stand was for ahow only- no cord to plug it in. Once I turned the air on I couldn't get it to turn off. The towel holders were barely hanging on the wall. Same with the toilet paper holder. I finally just took the roll off. The tub was clean but it looked like the fiberglass had been painted and it was peeling. Same with the paint on the walls in a lot of spots. The only thing good I can say about the room at all was the bed and pillows were very comfortable. When I went to check out I noticed the canopy on the portico where you drive up to check in was missing a good chunk of its green facade and was all matched together with plywood. I have contacted Choice Hotels about getting a refund for the extra room I had to book because their computer system cancelled my original room by itself. I ended up paying almost $275 for one night when all was said and done!! I could booked myself at a bed and breakfast for that money. I can understand swallowing thr money for the first night, but not having to pay double basically foe the 2nd night!! But I am surprised a hotel in such disrepair is still open! Isn't having working smoke detectors, sprinklers and emergency information code? I highly recommend not staying at this hotel if you can possibly avoid it.
Upon arrival at this hotel it was apparent that people live here. There was someone grilling on a grill by the dumpster. There were some people milling about that made it obvious they were residents. The front desk girl was very pleasant and helpful. She was patient with me when I was confused about how each room I rented needed a $100 deposit. It would be returned after they inspected my room upon check out! This made wonder about the types of guests this place attracts! I'm not sure if Ive ever paid a cash deposit at check in before but I know Ive never stayed somewhere that checks my room before I go. The lobby area is full of window and bright. It was clean with lots of seating and tables for charging. The breakfast area looked spacious and had waffle makers. We got in the elevator which must be under construction because it had drywall boards or something taped with masking tape to hold it on. The elevator was scary and noisy at a certain spot but it made it. Both of our rooms were on the 4th floor. We all made a gasp and a laugh when we exited the elevator as the smell of weed was thick in the air. We go to our rooms and everyone was pleasantly surprised how clean and updated they were! The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean and bright. The walls are a little thin in the hotel. I'm sure when the hotel is full during races it is loud in there. I woke up in the night because it smelled like someone was smoking! It wasn't in my room but it must of been close. Upon check out I let the front desk know that the weed and cigarette smell was not us! I was afraid they would try to pin that on us at check out. We didn't make it to the breakfast but for a rate of $100.57 ($89 rate plus fees) for a clean room in Laurel, I'd def stay again. I hope my review was helpful!
After 14 hours of driving, we were exhausted and just needed a place to sleep. We decided to ignore the negative reviews because the price was right. We were so pleasantly surprised! The young man working the front desk was so friendly and helpful. The hotel is undergoing renovations, but we were in no way inconvenienced. The room was clean and spacious, beds were comfortable, the area was quiet and safe, lots of hot water with good water pressure. The next morning we took our tickets to breakfast and wow! we were blown away. Those ladies working the breakfast area were phenomenal. The waffles were so fluffy, the biscuits and gravy were tasty, and the coffee was hot and plentiful. But the ladies were the stars of the show. The only "complaint" is that the bathroom door is tiny which made it a toe-stubber for me. But I admit that's probably just my issue.
