Best Western Plus Hotel Cascade Inn & Suites, Troutdale

My wife and I stayed at the Best Western (BW) Plus Cascade property on the days prior to and after our daughter's weekend wedding because of the proximity to the wedding venue (a nearby well-known historic property that begins with "M"). We found the BW property to be bright, new and exceptionally clean. The complementary breakfast had an excellent variety of hot & cold items and several coffee selections. We found the staff to be friendly, helpful and professional. We actually were going to stay at an airport Marriott property but when I discovered that their jacuzzi and pool were closed I switched my reservation to this BW. Additionally, during the wedding weekend we stayed 2 nights at the wedding venue to be on-site. However, we found the room at the historic property to be quite overpriced and a poor value since it was dismal, and lacking in routine cleanliness, This BW property was a pleasant surprise and a better value overall!

Best Western Wood Village is the best located hotel for me in the Portland area. Just at the mouth of the Columbia gorge, this hotel is well managed, well-maintained, with a great staff and an outstanding record. A great jump off point for any north west Oregon location.

This location offers a lot at a reasonable price. No scenery, but well equipped to provide a good experience for disabled visitors. Wheelchair lifts to both pool and spa are good quality and you don't have to ask someone to go find a portable one.

We were attending a family wedding in Troutdale. Needing a place to stay we chose the Best Western because it was cost-effective. We were surprised that we had picked such a nice hotel sight unseen The staff was friendly and well advised us of the best drives to take. The Columbia River Scenic Drive was stunning: the interstate 84 takes one to the 30 which is a winding road that passes waterfalls, the Gorge and trails. There is parking at each. It was after a rain, with off trails to other water falls, so trails were muddy and us my sister and I knew they weren't safe that way! The moss and flowers were extraordinarily beautiful. They directed us the little shops beyond the Troutdale arch: we found an artists co-op where we chatted and purchased. It was an excellent hotel to stay at

We have stayed at several hotels over the years, multiple Best Western's included. This by far is one of the cleanest, friendliest, best in customer service hotel, yet. From the moment we checked in the agents were kind and courteous and engaging. From the front desk staff to the maintenance and guest services, we were greeted warmly and were often asked if we needed anything. The rooms were immaculate and everything was in wonderful working condition. There were complimentary games, internet, books, and coffee in the lobby. While we were swimming we were asked if we needed anything. We couldn't be happier with our stay. Breakfast was plentiful and warm and the cold, fresh items were delightful as well. The beds were comfortable with plush bedding. The carpet and walls were fresh as well. We felt like were were in a 5 star hotel with the service as well.

We're Diamond Level at BW so we stay at a lot of their properties. BW employees are typically extremely friendly and helpful. Not so at this property, particularly the manager on duty on April 29th. We'll stay at another property when visiting Troutdale and write this BW location off.

The hotel was clean, well kept. Indoor pool and hot tub, with handicap accommodations. Good breakfast, friendly staff. A little noisy but easy freeway access. Very pleased to have stayed in this hotel. They also had a business center.

The pictures in the website appeared to show the hotel was on the water. This hotel is not on the water, nor is it really in Troutdale from what we could determine. It is close to both and staff was polite and provide good information for nearby adventures which included Troutdale and water.

We were attending a WellRed Comedy Tour performance at Helium Comedy Club in downtown. While it is a bit of a drive (25 minutes) it is easy, and the area is quieter. We love the Burrito shop across the way and Black Bear Diner in Gresham is just a few minutes away.

Nicely located property in Troutdale, OR. Ample parking at hotel in nicely maintained lot. Check in was professional and swift, Room was clean, everything worked as advertised, and and bed was extra comfortable. Breakfast area always clean, well stocked food items, and all cooked foods were always hot. Hotel was quiet and no issues with noise or traffic. Located near abundant shopping if necessary. If you like Mexican food I would recommend the Burrito Shop across the street (Halsey St) from the hotel. Great food, good prices, and convenient for hotel guests not wanting to do more driving.

This is probably the oldest Best Western I've stayed in. My experience has been that when they become Best Western Plus, they have been updated. This one is a run down mess. The signs in the parking area also made me feel like it was a sketchy area. My advice would be to pass on this one.

We stayed in a queen suite. It was big, clean, and had plenty of towels, plus a small shampoo and lotion. The carpet looks old and gross. The only issue we had was the refrigerator wasn't plugged in and was warm. We realized it wasn't plugged in and had to move a heavy entertainment center with a tv in order to plug it in. Some of our things were ruined since it took a while to get cold. Other than that, the room was nice and was quiet in the morning. Check out is at 12 also, which is nice.

This is a great place to stay on the outskirts of Portland OR. The staff is friendly and ever helpful. A clean and comfortable room to spend the night. The room is plenty big. The guest bathroom is just too small. If there are two persons in that room there is not enough room for both of them to get ready in the morning

This Best Western does not enforce state mandates of social distancing and masking in the lobby or breakfast buffet like advertised. When I expressed my concerns, the staff told me they they don't have enough staff to fulfill state mandated requirements. I'm losing faith in Best Western hotels as my go to place for consistency and concerns for the welfare of all the guests.!

The employees were all wearing masks. The mandate does not require people eating to wear a mask and we received several complaints from guests regarding your attacking them over this while they were trying to enjoy their breakfast. We have signs posted to wear masks in other areas.

Very clean hotel and breakfast decent. Minor complaint by the entrance so pretty chilly when enjoying your morning coffee and breakfast ☺️ All staff came in contact with were very helpful and professional. I'm sure off season but was very quiet and beds comfortable. Definitely recommend.

The staff was very courteous and knowledgeable regarding nearby restaurants. We had to stop there in Troutdale because the interstate was shut down and it was a welcome relief to find a beautiful Best Western hotel. That took the edge off our already stressful trip with the weather. It was a safe haven for us. I will stay there again, hopefully when the weather is much better.

Our stay was very pleasant and comfortable. and would definitely recommend this hotel. The breakfast was exceptional, plenty of hot food. The room clean and comfortable. Check in was quick and easy as was checkout.

Had a very nice over night stay here in Troutdale. Facilities is nice, clean and very good staff. Had a very nice night. Like most of the BW facilities, was very nice. Good breakfast, which I really like.

Stayed here for a wedding being held in a nearby venue. Very nice lodgings, but don't know that I would stay at this particular place otherwise. Not far from Multnomal falls and Portland airport. Good restaurants within driving distance and a not-to-bad burrito place across the street.

Room smelled like it had been smoked in. Gave me a headache. Awful. My sister's room, next to ours, did not smell badly. I should have asked to be moved but tried to tough it out. A family member came to see me and commented that the room stunk.

This hotel is in a great location. We went to a concert and Mcmennamins and this was close to the venue. The hotel was clean, staff was friendly. The gal that worked in the breakfast area was particularly cordial. We will stay there again!

Booked this place because I was going to a concert down the road. This place is clean, quiet, and unbelievably hospitable. I didn't get a name for the person who checked me in, but they were extremely personable, and we shared a couple laughs. It's really important to connect with your guests and they exceeded expectations by miles. The hotel itself was so fresh and clean, especially being carpeted. There were myriad affordable sundries available which you hardly see when you're traveling on a budget. Hot breakfast was THE BEST! They had a great selection and the egg & cheese omelette bites were a pleasant surprise. Every housekeeper I saw smiled when I passed, and the were clearly busting ass. Much love to those hard working folks.

The pool and hot tub were amazing and much needed after travelling so much. The rooms were clean, quiet and the bed was very comfortable. The front desk clerk was very active delivering towels to the pool area, cleaning up spills in the lobby and did their best to answer all of our questions and make us feel comfortable, very friendly.

Had a great stay. The room was clean and neat, with lots of room. We stayed here one night for a show at Edgefield and loved that the venue is close enough to walk to. 0.7 miles, in fact, and straight. There isn't much, by way of restaurants in the area, but we had dinner at the Gyro Food Truck at the intersection and it hit all the notes!

Great place to stay. Best Western quality. Bathrooms were clean, plenty of towels. Televisions were nice 40 Inch size. Larger mini fridge and microwave in the rooms. Coffee maker with coffee and tea in the room as well. Pool was nice. Breakfast Buffet was nice. Wide selection. Scrambled eggs, make your own waffle, bagels, muffins, sausage, yogurts, fruits, and more. Highly recommend.

Spent one night at Best Western Cascade Inn. Easy drive from PDX. Our room was quiet and clean. Check in and check out was very easy. The hotel is across the street from Wood Village Burrito which is highly recommended!! There's a Fred Meyer and a Walmart Super Center close by, which made stocking up for the rest of our trip very easy.

We have always had excellent customer service at this Best Western plus. All of their employees including management shows their commitment to customer satisfaction in all areas. Excellent job performance at the highest standards...:-)

One of the better places to stay in the Gresham Id area. Suggestions: ask for a room on the right side (East) away form overnight diesel trucker. not a big issue, but if you have the option.. Great fast eats across the street at the Burrito shop and coffee café.

The hotel was clean, Josh at front desk was personable, accommodating. Real treat was restaurant directly across street, was so yummy, especially fish tacos. At $2.50 per fish taco, if you never tried, you should. Can't remember the name but it was burritos something.

Elevator not in service upon Check-in. Told would be in service next day (Monday) I checked out on Tuesday. Still no elevator. I asked for a room on first floor upon check-in. Not available. Beautiful property, friendly staff. Carpet in room could have been cleaner. My white socks were rather dirty after walking around room. Hoping this is a one time problem with this property.

I'm in recovery. Going on 16 years clean and I got billed for a marijuana odor they supposedly smelled. I haven't smoked marijuana in almost 16 years. Absolutely disgusting they can do that. I was billed almost $500

I guess the last review you wrote wasn't enough. We'll go through this again. Your room smelled of smoke, which was reported by housekeeping and verified by the housekeeping supervisor who also verified dog hair all over the room and bedding. The room had to be put out of service to be treated and cleaned. You admitted to the dog in one of your emails, and said an app told you it was okay to have pets. We have never allowed pets. You also walked passed a no pets sign upon entry and signed a registration card stating there would be a charge of $250.00, (not $500) for any smoking and/or unauthorized pets. Also people who think pets are allowed do not normally bring them in through the side door. FYI: Nobody said you smoked marijuana, they said your room smelled of it and smoke and took several treatments to remove the smell.

This hotel is close to the beautiful waterfalls of Oregon. But, the neighborhood is not nice. Several homeless people hanging around in the evening. In the morning, it was fine. You have to use the wall phone or your room key to open the front door at all times. That made me feel a little bit safer, but it was still somewhat uncomfortable. The room was nice, a standard Best Western room. The staff was nice and the breakfast was also standard and adequate. I wouldn't say to avoid this hotel, but just be aware of your surroundings.

The special rates and the comforts of a reliable chain equaled a very pleasant stay for our first Covid-era venture out in over a year. Our thanks to Best Western for making it a very positive experience.

Very friendly. Was very pleased with receiving a free upgrade due to being a best western premier member. Very clean. Would recommend to anyone staying in this area. Will gladly stay again the next time i am in troutdale.

The actual hotel and staff were awesome. The only drawback was the spaced out tweakers wondering around the parking lot night and day. I guess that may be the new norm for the city of Portland and surrounding areas.

We've stayed here several times. It is a nice facility, good access to the freeway to get into and around Portland. Ample parking, nice pool, and very nice rooms. Wood Village Burrito across the street is a very nice place to catch a great burrito.

I miss the daily room service, and the fitness room was a little lacking, but the pool, hot tub, and sauna were amazing. The hot tub was actually hot (almost uncomfortable, but fantastic!), and the pool was a great temperature. Staff was friendly, hotel was clean, and the burrito shop across the street was excellent. The bed was a little stiff though.

Love to stay here at Best Western Suites, it's very beautiful and very clean, I really recommend it to everyone out there, you would enjoy it, the rooms are very large and decorated very beautiful the only thing I don't care about it was the breakfast is very simple bottle of water and plain bagel I wish they could add a package of cream cheese to enjoy the bagel, I still recommend it to everyone out there

We do provide some add on items for your breakfast such as cream cheese, jelly, butter, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, milk, and breakfast burritos. We have to keep these items refrigerated so you do need to request them. These items are listed on a sign at the breakfast counter. You and a couple others have mentioned things that lead us to believe we need to add additional signage and make sure we are also verbally letting our guests know about these items during check in. This is a great example of how much we value your opinion and how much your opinion helps us to make improvements that will better guest experiences. We needed a place to stay close to Portland and convenient to I 84. This place fit the bill perfectly. Convenient access, very clean and quiet, excellent pandemic protocols. Very helpful front desk staff.

Nice place to stay for business. It is in a nice area. Food options close by, which is always a bonus when you are traveling and don't want to go far. Clean facility. Close to grocery retailers, helps in a situation when you have lost or forgotten something. I know when traveling with the family, we always end up needing to get something, cold meds, snacks, extra diapers..... Convenient location

Best place to go for a family their staff at the Halsey location go beyond to make your stay feel like your staying with a good family member they go out their way to make sure you have everything you need or want.

Ants in room, but it's an ok stay usually. We have stayed here a few times, and it's normally clean, but this time there were ants all over in our room, and there was also some broken items in the bathroom like the bath water spout.

With the construction & digging going on in the neighborhood we are seeing moisture ants coming in via water pipes. By letting us know about your room we know what area to treat. We enjoyed our stay at this location, where they accommodated special requests, and gave us time to get breakfast beyond the regular closing hours. Very kind folks, and comfortable beds. It was our final evening in Oregon and we enjoyed the town of Troutdale.

This is our second annual stay here. Visiting family nearby. And this year even more family in town took advantage of this great local hotel. Nice staff. Super clean rooms and common area. Indoor pool terrific. Breakfast is outstanding. 5 stars across the board from us. We'll be back next year.

I am thinking this is cheap cleaned up Motel 8... Not clean, cheap looking, and in general not clean.. Hotel front desk staff was confused, not friendly, and not in a hurry to help (I was the only one in line). Tried to tell me about extra fee's for checking in early ($35.00 fee for checking in before 1:30.... I pointed to the clock and said it's after 2:00.... She said she would wave the fee? ***I think that hotels seem to forget we are the customer and they should treat us better***

Beings I drive for a living I have a hard time finding places that accept clc that have great parking and location. This place has this plus more. Wonderful staff, great check inn. Rooms are nice and clean. They are super comfy. Breakfast has a wide variety of great food. Check out is easy and quick. If looking for motels in the area this one is awesome.

I had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay at the Best Western Plus Cascade Inn & Suites in Troutdale, OR. I appreciate the well maintained rooms and facilities of this property. I very much appreciated finding this Best Western property in Troutdale where my relatives lived.

This hotel is situated just about perfectly; convenient to the highway yet not so close as to hear the noise, so the rooms on either side are quiet, my number one requirement for a hotel. Since I teach till late in the evening, an afternoon nap is a big refresher, and a dip in the pool with a short soak in the hot tub always makes the day go better. This hotel is also far enough from the airport as to generally make it more cost effective; the closer ones are higher-priced as a rule.

Except for the little louder than normal noise coming out from the AC/Heat Unit and no information on TV channel listings... Breakfast host Anna (Fluent both in Spanish and English) was extremely friendly and helpful. Hot breakfast were served here from 6 to 10AM and all items were well stocked. Dana at the front desk was friendly, took extra efforts to locate some special tea flavors and we even saw her pickup trash/leaf at front door when chance allow to make the place look pleasant from inside to outside.

Traveling for pleasure, stopped in here without a reservation and was happy to get a room. The room was nice, lots of room, nice tv size, and it was clean. It was quiet, no road noise, staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was simple but good.

My husband and I were on vacation in Washington. So we decided to travel to Oregon. We decided to spend a couple of nights that this BW. It was a great choice. Nice clean room with KS Bed. Staff was great. We were surprised that they offered clam chowder and chocolate cookies to their guest that evening. We plan to come back to Oregon next year. We will include a stay at this hotel next year.

We stayed for a couples get away. The hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful. The rooms were clean and quiet. The hotel was very quiet even with a very large group of youth staying there. There were plenty if optuons for breakfast. Did run out of biscuits and gravy, so they must have been tasty. The pool was a perfect temp. Not cold like some hotels. Pool area very clean. The hot tub and sauna were nice.

Excellent location for exploring the area, including Multnomah Falls, Rooster Rock, and the Columbia River. Close to Portland for shows at the Moda Center. Excellent food at The Rock Wood Fired Pizza restaurant in nearby Wood Village.

I checked in and out quickly. They had soup and cookies out for a dinner snack. They also have ice water and coffee for when ever you may want it. I was not able to log into the internet but still enjoyed my stay. The room was clean and nice.

We loved staying at this hotel. The staff was very nice. The room was large and very comfortable. The restaurant had a nice dinner and they hotel provided a great breakfast. The is a great place to stay before or after driving the Columbia Scenic roadway.

My 2 night stay was great. The only problem was that the refrigerator was so cold that it froze all my food! The staff was great and credited my bill $20 for my loss of food. They also offer a good breakfast which I unfortunately don't eat but it was nice to grab some fruit for later.

There is a semi truck yard immediately next door. Good luck trying to sleep since some leave engines running. Tried to talk to front desk about being moved to a room further away but apparently the desk is unstaffed at 10:30 pm. Oh, and the toilet is so close to the counter you have to lean over a bit.

We are sorry to hear you were awoken by a truck. That lot is supposed to be for a truck repair shop not idling trucks. Our desk is actually staffed 24 hours a day. The clerk had stepped away and failed to put her sign on the counter. She has been talked to about this and we appreciate you reporting it. The hotel was very clean and perfectly located; we walked to and from the Edgefield for a concert. The beds were great, with good quality sheets. Breakfast was typically good and the staff was attentive and friendly. Great decision.

On the second night of our stay, we missed the time period when the complimentary cookies were available. We asked the woman at the front desk, Athena, if there were any more she could put out. She apologized and told us they were already gone. We arrived back to the hotel late the next night. Upon entering the lobby, Athena presented us with a plate of cookies she had set aside for us. We were so touched that she had remembered the encounter from the previous night and went to such effort to surprise us the next night! It was a lovely gesture. As far as the hotel itself, the beds were surprisingly comfortable and the rooms satisfactorily cleaned. The bathrooms are super tiny, and the hotel appears to be a remodeled building from perhaps the 1980s. Despite that, our stay was enjoyable, made even more so by Athena at the front desk!

Chose this motel over others in the area because it was advertised as a upscale and I wanted a nice place to stay. The hotel is in the middle of a trucking yard. I had a Semi truck with a refer on underneath my hotel room all night. The truck revved it's engine loudly every 20 minutes all night long. Don't stay here if you need sleep.

We actually are not located in the middle of a truck yard. Unfortunately we have no control over people in the surrounding area and a truck running is not considered excessive noise so the police will not make them move. Sorry your sleep was interrupted by the noise and you didn't have the opportunity to enjoy our new luxury pillow top mattresses. We enjoyed our recent stay at this BW in Troutdale while attending an event at McMenamins Edgefield and touring Columbia River Gorge. The property is conveniently located for these attractions. It was very clean, with our 3rd floor suite offering good space and functional layout (though bathroom was tight). The staff was helpful, particularly at the good breakfast. We were pleasantly surprised to find gluten-free bread at breakfast. We also enjoyed coffee throughout the day, and the baked cookies in the evening.

The hotel was perfectly located for our needs. Blue Lake Disc Golf Course. It was within 10 min of several great restaurants. There was plenty of parking. Check in was quick. The room was comfortable, we had a king size bed that was medium firm. The AC worked great and not overly noisy, good for white noise while sleeping. The pillows were short but extra thick. The room had all the standards, desk, coffee maker, iron and hair dryer. I found the chair and stool very comfortable. The downsides: The curtains did not close all the way and the gap under the door allowed in more light than we like. I am an obese man and found the bathroom to be small and the shower to be narrow. The shower had great water pressure and lots of hot water, but too small for me. I did not like the free shampoo and conditioner, the shampoo did not wash the hair spray out of my hair and I smelled like a citronella candle. I would stay here again the staff was exceptional.

Upon checkin Locero, I think she was so rude if this wasn't our grandsons state track meet we would have canceled our reservations at checkin. I never could get the wifi working and we have had wifi in every city we've used bestwestern. The bed was comfortable, the room was very nice and except for wifi. Our family all stayed there and had the same reception. Most of the other staff were accommodating. My son in law was so upset at the way she treated my daughter. The manager backed her employee over customers. Something to think a out when booking at this one best western plus

Thank you for staying with us. We are sorry you did not enjoy your stay and that your son-in-law was up-set about his wife being asked how many people were in the room. Your daughter came to the desk to get extra linens and said she had extra kids. I actually heard the entire conversation. I did speak with the employee and explained that her question was not only okay but very important, however her tone was not good and she needs to work on this. I apologized to your son-in-law for her tone and explained to him that we needed to know for fire code and evacuation purposes, and we were not charging for the kids. I'm sorry you feel this was backing an employee over customers. I was not trying to "back" either.

We stayed here one night while visiting family in the area. It was a very pleasant surprise. Staff at check in were friendly and welcoming, good beds, great shower, good wi-fi speed, satisfying breakfast. Very clean facility.

Love staying here every time I'm in the Portland/Gresham area and have done so for many years. This place is very clean, the beds are comfy, a microwave & fridge in the room allows one to keep cold drinks or "whatever" handy if you don't feel like going out to eat, everyone is friendly and more than accommodating, the hot breakfast is a good one, they serve cookies and soup in the evening - what's not to like? A wonderful bang for your buck - to quote Mary Poppins, "Practically perfect in every way!".

This motel is our favorite place to stay when we visit Portland Oregon. It is close to the Factory Outlets, Walmart, restaurants and gas. We like it because we can visit and do things in Portland and then not have to travel through Portland when we leave. It is right on our way home. Love it!!

Flew in late and had a good night's sleep. Enjoyed a leisurely breakfast compliments ofthe hotel before strting out on my business agenda. It was a relaxing wy to start my day and just what I needed to keep me goping for my long day.

This hotel is crap the front desk staff is cold and robot like, the breakfast was cold and my daughter caught head lice from their pool towels. Its the only thing she did different from the rest of us was use the pool towels. Guests were in pool area drinking, no one would answer at the front desk so if you needed anything you had to walk down to get their attention. 3 thumbs down.

Sorry to hear you did not enjoy your stay although it is not likely that your daughter got head lice from using a clean towel. Our cleaning process would most likely kill them. Perhaps close contact with a person or clothing that had lice. Sorry you had to come to the desk. We were sold out and our staff was extremely busy trying to meet the needs of all of our guests and asking guests to not drink in public areas, as the signs say. Thank you for staying with us and for the information you provided. It will help us to improve and plan for additional staff during times of high demand.

My stay was very comfortable from the bed and pillows to the chair and ottoman in the room. The room location was away from traffic noise. Breakfast was warm and tasty. The room was a nice break during a business trip.

I've stayed here before and I'll be staying here again, great location right off the freeway (84), and close to restaurants off of exit 17 (Shari's and some of the truck stops). Beds are firm, but not so much to hurt my back.

We stayed back in December while on our see Oregon holiday. Let's start with the breakfast, awesome selection, great coffee creamers ( big thing for me) hot food, cold food , just awesome all around. Then we move to the 6pm soup and warm cookies! Such a delight after being in the car a day. The room was good, staff is friendly. Delightful stay.

Great hotel! Convenient location. From check in to check out was wonderful. They have a fantastic breakfast set up. They have cookies at night. Nice indoor pool , hot tuband exercise room. They EVEN HAD A SMALL LAUNDRY ROOM FOR GUEST! COMFY BEDS!Spotless hotel and rooms!

The staff was friendly, the room was clean and comfortable, and all of the amenities were in perfect working order. The price was also excellent for the quality we received. I enjoyed the stay and would highly recommend it.

We reserved a King suite room which had an additional room w/ wood floor which was open to room w/ bed (carpet floor) and another tv, small table, couch, chair, coffee table. Also, the room had a microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker too. This was an excellent value at $142.75 (this includes lodging tax). - when I walked into the hotel, I could smell freshly baked chocolate chip cookies and after I checked in, the woman at the front desk said for us to help ourselves. They were still warm and very delicious, I wish the chocolate chip cookies I made tasted like that. - staff was friendly - room was super clean, one of the cleanest hotels I've stayed in and I've stayed in over 100 hotels. - room was well appointed and very large, although the bathroom was a bit small, but adequate. - I did not use the pool area, so I don't have a comment on that. - The breakfast was fully stocked and very good. Items were scrambled eggs, sausage, diced potatoes, biscuits/gravy, hot oatmeal, hard boiled eggs, cottage cheese, waffles with toppings, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, breads, muffins, juice and coffee. Also, they accommodated for people with allergies such as having gluten free bread and soy milk. Breakfast until 10:00, but this was a Sunday so not sure if that is every day. - check out time was 12:00 which was nice - Convenient location on the Northeast side of the Portland area, just off interstate 84. It's about 20 minutes from the Portland airport and 20 minutes to downtown Portland's Moda Center. Additional tips: - shopping about 9 minute drive away at the Gresham Station Shopping Center with Old Navy, Best Buy, World Market, Bed Bath & Beyond, Claire's, Ulta Beauty, Craft Warehouse, Hallmark Shop, etc. and various restaurants such as Panera Bread (yum!). We were taking a short trip (4 nights) to Crater Lake and back with our new ADA van for a test.run before we head to California this fall. Parking is an issue for us now and so is the size of the room and location. The staff at Troutdale did a great job of giving us a room close to the elevator and we had parking close to the main entrance, would definitely stay there again.

This was a very nice hotel. The staff was helpful. The breakfast was awesome. They actually had biscuits and gravy. It was better than most restaurants. I would definitely recommend staying here to friends and family.

Excellent service. Clean and well kept facility. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I have come to count on the quality provided by best western and when possible, I chose to stay at their facilities. the staff was attentive and personable. Breakfast was excellent and we did not run out of food.

This was the third hotel I attempted to use, after a couple mishaps earlier in the night, with hotels messing up third-party booking. Surely, I thought I would gain entry and much needed rest at this hotel, which was booked by a 'friend' and confirmed. I traveled to Best Western Plus (on the last local bus, mind you), and thought check-in would be easy peasy. The hotel was off shoot from a main drag, but located in a rural, but rather soccer-momish area. If you do anything artistic, have any sort of 'flare' you'll get stared at by the staff here. Apparently, while the room reservation was in the queue and PAID for (and confirmed by 'Dana' a female who worked there), I was barred from entry because, "I did not have a credit card with my legal name for, 'incidentals.' " Certainly, I provided to Dana just what she had asked for, but the credit card did not go through for some reason. Obviously, it was my fault and my due-diligence meant nothing. The place would not accept a debit card, and they insisted upon a credit card - and pre-charging the credit card. Red flag. Dana assured me with a grim tone and disdainful glare that, "they make no exceptions" with regards to needing a credit card vs. using a pre-paid Visa or debit card, both of which I had. I called my friend, who said, "just tell them to use my credit card. Who cares who pays for any supposed 'damages'? " Best Western Plus would not accept my friend's credit card, even per their verbal dictation. I have been to many hotels in life, and only one other time was asked for a credit card for potential 'damages.' And, the credit card was never even run. Throughout our exchange, 'Dana' continually called me 'hon' as opposed to Ms. xxx. Interacting with her was negative, and I'd rather converse with a wall for 10 minutes. I made several calls to the 'friend' who was absolutely livid at being inconvenienced. The 'friend' thought I would have called to say, "thanks, I'm all checked in." The 'friend' did not anticipate a nightlong bickering. At one point, a young man, who barely looked 18 years of age named David? (white, glasses, short brown hair) said, "We're all human. Let me ask my manager about any exceptions." Nope. The fact that employees have no control over minor idiosyncrasies such as who pays for 'damages' and further, presume everyone is going to 'damage' the property, showcases they are enslaved. These people are more concerned with 'keeping up appearances' than having imperfect rooms with normal wear and tear (life happens), yet providing exceptional and flawless customer service to guests and insuring a positive and happy STAY. I highly disliked that I was looked at as 'suspicious', before I checked in. This is a very authoritarian run place, with employees that are drones and unwilling to see 'the space between' all events that happen in life. Essentially, picking one's battles. The sheer fact that when I left, at maybe 12:00 or something a.m. when buses weren't running, and I had no insight into the local area did not even make the hotel clerk, David blink. I can only surmise his parents are taking care of his major expenses, and that he has no life experience with travel or hospitality outside this conservative dump of an area. I ended up sitting at a 24 hour truck stop, and stayed up all night. That's after walking along a road that wasn't lit, having cars and motorcycles pass me (not one stopping to see if I was stranded - probably at least 15 + cars). I walked 1.8 miles WITH MY BAGS to get to this dump of a truck stop, all because of the authoritarian, conservative, order follower staff at Best Western Plus who were twisting the 'rules' to fit their agenda/policy, and who didn't see the big picture as to my safety, security, sleep, had to alter travel plans etc. Not to mention my due-diligence and speaking directly with my 'friend' to non-violently resolve any perceived issues. Best Western Plus will surely disappoint you, unless you enjoy giving out all of your personal information (having it copied and stored), following orders and non-nonsensical 'policies' (which promote inequality, and power dynamic of them assuming you to be a criminal when you walk-in and/or prostitute/drug dealer) as well as being routinely 'watched' on camera inside the entire facility (forgot to mention that earlier) being unable to enjoy yourself due to cameras at literally every angle in the foyer. I'd say get a hostel, but American hostels are a joke, too. American travel is a real joke. Thanks for nothing.

Sorry you had so many issues with hotels during your travels. It is our policy that all guests must have a valid bank issued credit card. This policy actually helps to keep criminal activity down. There unfortunately is a great deal of fraud associated with pre-paid cards which is one reason we do not accept them. We are happy to accept payment from a 3rd party as long as we have written consent and ID to match, all of which can be done via fax or email. It sounds like this option did not work for you and/or your friend. We appreciate your opinion and hope your travels in the US were not too disappointing for you.

Awful place. Bethany from front desk hung up the phone in my 14 years old daughter's face when she asked her if they have a pack and play for our 1 year old. When she brought the pack and play, she proceeded to very rudley unload on me that we're over occupying the room because we have a 6 weeks old, 1 year old and a 14 year old. She did this infront of my kids. I called her back and told her that her behavior was not acceptable and to give her a chance to apologies. Her answer was talk to the manager. I definitely don't recommend this hotel solely based on the fact that they are employing such a person.

I stayed here while I was on travel for work and the hotel is nice. The bed was a little hard, so I didn't sleep well; but for some reason this seems common with most hotels. The free breakfast was nice.

This hotel was wonderful! All areas were very clean. Pool and jacuzzi and Sauna in excellentworking condition. Staff in all areas were great.Food was delicious. Wifi worked well too. I recommend this hotel and will stay again when in the Portland area!

Very nice hotel. Located right off the interstate highway. Has a nice directory listing restaurants in the area with the address and apparox. miles to the restaurant.. Great place to start your travel along the Columbia river it your are traveling west to east.

OK hotel, not much in the neighborhood, right off the freeway Interstate 84, good comfortable bed, quiet neighborhood, not much room noise, did not use the exercise room, did not use the pool. similar breakfast as other BW+ hotels

Rooms very small and bathroom smaller. Cleaning needs a bit of work. Didn't replace fresh tea bags, left dirty cups on table and didn't replace. So that says you didn't clean the table. Tossed my slippers to the back of the wall, not where I left them near suitcase. Location not really near anything other than mini mart. Staff was nice; but not enough perks to bring me back. Location off freeway, that's nice. Rooms look out the back of a trucking company on the north side. Overall, best western could do better. Canceled at another place for this. Always stick to your first choice ! I give it a 2 star rating ????????

Clean hotel. Staff is super friendly. Amenities are great. Breakfast was done very well every morning. Fitness center is not huge but it has everything you need for a great workout. Overall a very clean and friendly hotel.

Overall we were very happy with our stay. We stayed 3 nights. The breakfast was great with a very good selection. The indoor pool area was a win too. We definitely would stay here again if traveling in this area!

This hotel is always clean the coffee is always good cookies in the afternoon fresh they have some sort of soup cooking also .the computers always clean and in working order. The rooms are nice .easy access to shopping near by

Room was very nice. Clean and comfortable. Coffee maker in room. Breakfast was good selection although crowded. They don't have a very big area with tables. The good selection of food made it worth the wait. Beds very comfortable. I would stay here again.

Conveniently located to explore the Gorge area, easy access to Highway 84. Friendly helpful staff, clean rooms, hotel well maintained, lots of onsite parking, safe area. Decent selection of breakfast items. Got upgraded to a suite and the room was very roomy wirh a side sitting area. Would stay again.

Stayed at Best Western Plus Cascade Inn & Suites for one night. I had to change our reservation at the last minuted due too extra people possibly coming with us, clerk was very helpful and pleasant. When we arrived the next evening she remembered that I had called the night before and took good care of us checking in

We stayed here for easy access to Edgefield. And that it was. Park you car. Enjoy the evening with out the hassles of traffic congestion. Easy find off I-84, short 10 min to walk to Edgefiled and a great Mexican dinner across the street. The hotel was quiet with large clean rooms and a typical free breakfast.

Right now there is road construction that makes it difficult to get to the hotel from the east. Coming from the west is OK. They quit at around 6PM. The hotel is in a residential area with little night noise. I took a short walk around the area. I wouldn't call the area unsafe, but you should pay attention to your surrounding. There were three of us on a business trip, staying in three different rooms. My room at the end of the building was actually very quiet. One co-worker complained that his neighbor's kid was super noisy - slammed door and furniture. The other co-worker also had a noisy neighbor, and his solution was to sleep with the bathroom fan turned on all night for white noise. You can close the blinds completely to get total darkness in the room to sleep. The pool has a deep end and is swimmable. The spa was good. There is also a heat room. I liked the breakfast. You can make fresh waffles. There was bagel, fruits, yogurt, and other hot items. I also liked the coffee. The Mexican restaurant across the street is good and cheap.

One of the best hotels I have stayed at. They have everything you need to have a relaxing stay. Indoor pool, exercise room,spa and laundry. The manager Kim trained her staff well. They are professional, friendly and try to make your stay great. A few of them went above and beyond, Bethany, at the front desk, Agueda at breakfast and Miguel . Rooms are clean and pillow top beds are great. Good breakfast and they also have soup and cookies in the evening during the week. Within 30 mins. of many places.

Location of this family-friendly hotel is very convenient. It is about 20 minute drive to Vista House of Columbia River Gorge, or about 20 minute drive to Portland International Airport, or about 25 minute drive to Portland Downtown or Washington Park. There's a nice indoor pool in this hotel, great place to relax after one-day trip. The free breakfast is fresh made with good quality. There's also fresh-made delicious cookies in late afternoon. Also free parking and free WiFi should be also mentioned.

its in the middle of nowhere but the room is nice, good breakfast. except the lady upon check out very rude about late check out. We love it there! nice work out room too. It's connect to any view or attractions but it is very close to malls

Great location near shops, entertaiment and restaurants. Hotel staff friendly, professional and determined to make your stay a pleasant one. Only suggestion I'd have would be for the breakfast service folks to have labels prepared for food items to check for food allergy ingredients.

We found the staff extremely friendly and helpful. We were tired when we arrived, and we were wondering where we would be eating supper, to our amazement, this Best Western, actually put on a dinner the night we were there.

My family and I like to stay at this location when traveling trough Portland on our way from Eastern Oregon to the Oregon coast. It cuts the daily travel time down for the kids. Its easy to find and gives a great value for the price.

I reserved a room at this hotel because of many positive TripAdvisor reviews. Their reviews were "spot on". This is a great place to stay because it is on the "main drag" of Troutdale - the doorway to the incredibly scenic Columbia River Gorge and it's many points of interest. It is near many restaurants and a large shopping mall. The hotel itself is clean, quite and comfortable. The front desk staff and the housekeeping staff are most accommodating. The complimentary breakfast was a great way to start the day. The room rates are reasonable. It would be hard to find a better option in the area.

We actually came for business and family. It was spring break so we brought our daughter's family as well. This was the perfect place for all of us. The price was reasonable, breakfast was great and the kids had a great time in the pool!

This hotel is very clean, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the location was very convenient. The freshly baked cookies were a nice surprise, and the breakfast was nothing fancy, but well done. I can't believe I never wrote a review for this place as we've stayed here 3 or 4 times in the last several years--most recently last year on the night before Thanksgiving. It's a nice proximity to Portland, easy to get in and out of and ample parking. Front desk is always friendly and helpful. Plus, breakfast is usually pretty decent. We almost always get upgraded to a larger room due to my Elite status, which is great when you have a toddler to have more space to move around. Overall, I recommend this place and have had family stay here as well.

Had a ground level room as I requested. It was quiet and very clean. Pool and exercise room looked nice but did not get the opportunity to use. They had really good yogurt at breakfast and the coffee was good. Stayed for two nights and would go back again.

The Cascade Inn & Suites is my very favorite hotel in the Portland area. I go out of my way to stay at this location. It is an amazing value, the staff are top notch, and the rooms are always spotless.

The hotel is okay but you can tell it is in need of a remodel. The fridge caused a vibration and needed unplugged so we could sleep. The toilet handle stuck in the down position every time and would cause the toilet to run. The paint in the bathroom was cracked/peeling.

Truly a wonderful place to relax from all of the traveling. The staff is very warm and friendly. One time I had to cancel a second night and they could not have been more gracious. I strongly recommend the cheese omelets.. .

We've stayed at other locations in Oregon, but we always choose this as number one choice. We always get upgraded to a suite when possible. Central location, great place, great staff. Definitely recommend this to anyone travelling to this area.

We have stayed at this hotel once before. The breakfast is large with several items to choose from which is great since I had teenagers on both stays. The rooms were comfortable and very clean..This time I was upgraded to a suite and it was huge! The beds are usually very firm but this one was softer and pillow top and I slept great. I would stay here again and recommend it to others.

Pleasant location, nice ambiance, met every need. A couple of very casual restaurants in walking distance. Rooms were well insulated, although traffic noise from the highway was evident. I'm always pleased when breakfast includes healthy choices like oatmeal, fresh fruit and yogurt. The lobby coffee and add-ins was really good, too.

Night staff was great, morning staff were not professional and did not have a care in the world about our heater noise in the middle of the night. Asked for our bill to be put under our door and it was not, never received it. Breakfast was not appealing at all.

The pool was great, but the hot tub was more of a warm tub. The staff was very helpful and caredvthat you had a pleasant stay. The bathrooms are very tight. You can shut the door easily to use the toilet and there isn't an easy place to stand while shutting the door to get in the shower.

No problems had a very good experience. Beds were comfortable, breakfast was great and the folks were helpful. Amenities in the room such as the ironing board, air-conditioner/heat, curtains closed completely, the wife like it completely dark at night and no noises from others.

this hotel is a very comfortable and child friendly, hotel staff are great and friendly. The breakfast service is great and the kids love to make waffles. location is great close to everything for shopping eating and movies. Convenient access to interstate and to recreation areas .

We have been traveling a lot in the past few years. Most of the time I'm not real happy with the hotels we end up in. We've tried low end to high end and been disappointed. We just happened to end up in troutdale and chose the best western plus late one night. It became our favorite. We choose it now even if we have to travel a ways to our destination.

Background: When a friend booked a wedding at McMenamins Edgefield, we wanted to find a place that was close by, since there were no rooms available at the venue. Verdict: The Best Western Plus in Troutdale, has easy access from the airport, is an easy walk to from McMenamins , has remodeled rooms with firm beds, has an ok breakfast with lots of options (including fresh fruit, and greek yogurt), and an authentic Mexican restaurant across the street. It is the closest lodging to McMenamins Edgefield. Though the Best Western Plus in Troutdale isn't a "destination" place to go to, if we had a reason to return to McMenamins Edgefield, we'd stay at the Best Western Plus again. The front desk staff were helpful. Tip: we walked from the Best Western to McMenamins Edgefield. for all sorts of daytime and early evening functions (everything but the wedding since high heels aren't conducive for walking on sidewalks or the shoulder).

This hotel is clean and close to highway 84 which is the main highway to the Columbia Gorge. The breakfast was very good and hot. The pool was nice although not large enough to swim laps. Overall I was very pleased with the hotel and would definitely return

We're always pleased with this hotel and the service. It's really nice that they have soup (besides the cookies) at night. The soup went well with our Jimmy John sandwiches. Great room too! Very clean and furnished. Just wish they would have airport shuttle service.

I have typically stayed at the Pony Soldier Inn nearer the airport and nearer to my work location, but I may switch permanently to this hotel. The price is lower and there don't appear to be any noisy rooms. Plus, it has an indoor pool where the Pony Soldier pool is outdoor. Otherwise the hotels are comparable but if I have a little extra time for travel, I'll stay at this hotel again.

The facility was very clean and quiet during our stay. Our room was very clean, attractive in the decor and furnishings, and comfortable. Plenty of towels in the bathroom. The bed was very good. Did not use the indoor pool or exercise room. Breakfast area is open and spacious. Good selection of items at breakfast, and the coffee was very good. Staff were all pleasant and polite. Housekeeping staff did their work quietly. Rooms were well sound-proofed.

We stayed here because of the location, easy drive to the airport. The hotel seems a little dated, but otherwise clean and attractive. We had a comfortable one-night stay. It was extremely quiet. There is a historic town area in Troutdale with interesting shops and restaurants. We spent an enjoyable few hours there before going to the airport.

Great location to the airport but not worth the price. I wouldn't go in the green pool even on a bet. They couldn't find our reservation and accused us of misspelling our last name in our email address that they couldn't fix. We had to call the BW 800 number.

I am sorry to hear we had trouble finding your reservation but it is true that we cannot correct any information associated with your Reward account at the hotel level. When you call the national number they will ask some security questions to verify you are the account holder. This can be inconvenient but it is necessary for security reasons. I'm sorry this was not communicated properly at check in. We however have a beautiful "blue" pool and have never failed a health inspection. I'm sorry you decided to not try it. Also, I'm glad you found the 12 mile trip to the airport to be convenient. Thank you again for letting us know about your stay. Your opinion is a valuable tool for us to make continued improvements.

This is an easy location to get off of I 84 going east. It is close to outlet shopping near Troutdale and close to the Edgefield Concert area so convenient location for a variety of type of trips. The only negative thing I could say is that there were young children on our designated floor and their voices carry either thru the corridor or thru the walls between units....so sleeping late was not an option. I will use this location on future visits to see if noise remains an issue but other than this this a keeper for me as I travel the I 5 / 205 / 84 corridor at least monthly.

The staff was friendly and professional. Great location near stores, restaurants and entertainment. The rooms are well laid out to offer plenty of space to move around and be comfortable. I'd suggest a wider variety of fresh fruit be offered for breakfast options.

I have done a lot of traveling for business and pleasure in my lifetime and have paid a lot more for a lot less. I was most impressed with my stay here. I had driven 1300 miles in 2 days and was very tired to say the least. The Best Western Plus in troutdale was one of the nicest rooms that I had ever stayed inn period. I had a beautiful room on Hong Kong that I had thought would never be surpassed. This Hotel really suprised me as to the overall rom size,cleanliness and wonderful support staff. This business is a model in bang for your buck. I will not stay anywhere else in the future when I visit the Portland area.

Keys needed to be rejected repeatedly. Person at the desk was rude and unwelcoming. Our bill had another's name and info with our credit card info. Not good record keeping or customer service to explain to us why or to fix the problem. Very unhappy with this hotel. Ana who was at breakfast service was the only shining star! They need more employees like her! Thank you Ana!

We recently had a pleasant stay at this hotel. No frills but it was clean and the staff was friendly. Nice complimentary breakfast. Within walking distance to Edgefield and 20 minutes from downtown Portland. I would stay here again.

We chose this hotel due to it's proximity to Mt Hood and the Columbia River Gorge. We were on a hiking/sightseeing self-guided tour of Oregon. We stayed in a small suite that included a living area, bedroom area, and bath. The surroundings are not especially scenic. There was not a lot of interaction with staff. The breakfast attendants were friendly & helpful. The room was well-serviced & cleaned. The front desk folks were polite & efficient. The value seemed a little over-priced for the provisions. Sleep quality for me was quite good. My wife had a little trouble with the harness of the mattress. The room, breakfast area, and lobby were all very clean (refreshing.) Location was great: Just east of Portland, close to the airport, the western gateway to the Columbia River Gorge and close to Route 26 the portal to Mount Hood. The rooms were spacious & well furnished. The LED are 5000K so the light is hideous. All in all its a nice hotel.

Best Western has a decent and predictable level of hotels. We stayed in a lot of them. However, the BW in Troutville was disappointing. Beside the fact that the highlights to the east near Columbia River could not be visited due to the heavy forrest fires (so sad to experience the loss of so much nature), our room and the service was below the level we were used to. One day they forgot to clean our room, the parking lot was ( during the summer period) under construction, the view was (at the back) awful .... In short... disappointing. We had better BW's

This was a very clean and quiet hotel. The breakfast was very good and had quite a lot of choices. The rooms were clean and the amenities were great. I would definitely stay here again. Very close to Portland, but far enough away for the quiet. Good restaurants within a quick driving distance.

Conveniently located near Columbia River Gorge and Mt. Hood region. Also close Portland Airport. City of Portland is also not too far. After check in we were able to drive to Portland to visit Rose Garden at 6:00 PM. Next morning we left for Gorge and Mt. Hood. The hotel and room were clean. Staff was friendly and helpful

We booked this hotel as we thought we would get into the Portland area late. Our plans changed but this was a great spot for our stop. The property is easy to find off the freeway and is clean and comfortable. The breakfast was fully stocked and the wonderful employee kept it clean and even bussed the tables with a great smile on her face. I would stay here again.

Excellent place to stay. The location is easy to get in and out of not like downtown Portland. You are close to shopping and all kinds of recreation. The hotel is not far from the freeway and from Portland International airport.

Shower was not hot. WiFi had weak signal, bathroom was tiny and yellow, toilet paper was super cheap. On the plus side, ac worked well and breakfast was pretty good. Was walking distance to Edgefield.

Excellent evening personnel! Gave us soup on check in and some cookies. Was awesome after long travel. Thanks again for being so hospitable! The beds were very comfortable and the staff was incredibly helpful!

this stop was our first of many on a family vacation. it was the entry of the Columbia river pass. we had a good night sleep and a little food for our belly's as we headed out for the day. we had an late check in and early leave, but all was as needed.

On July 26, 2017 we checked in to this hotel for 2 nights the front desk staff Carrie was rude and has an attitude that we felt we're not welcome. I asked her if we can do express check out and she said "what is that", so i explained to her, and "she said no we want you to bring the keys here" really she doesn't know what is express check out. So we went to our room, we're in our room for not even an hour, the phone rings so I answered and it was her, asking us " did you just get lots of towel in the pool" i was like surprised and i told her we don't even go to the pool, what the hell is she trying to tell us. First we checked in passed check in hours we are very tired, she was not welcoming and now asking us if we get lots of towels in the pool, what are we going to do with that towels, that moment i was like thinking this gangster front desk staff is racist, is she thinking we're going to stole those towels, what are we gonna do with those towels?!!!we don't even know how to squeeze our clothes in our luggage, that was the first time happen to us, i can talk to the manager but that day it was my husband birthday, we are tired and upset after that, I will get you in my review. When we checked out then i asked her name and she said her name was Carrie. Also on the day that we checked in we overheard other customer were asking where to eat and she answered there's Mc Donald outside and another asked something and she answered but the customer did not say thank you maybe because of her attitude and she said you're welcome, we were like this lady is a gangster looking for a fight, well she have the wrong job. It was really sad to encountered this kind of person.

Stopped here on our way to Multnomah Falls - it's only a twenty minute drive. Comfortable rooms and as it was very hot we really appreciated the AC. Fridge/Freezer, Microwave, Good shower, Breakfast had a wide variety. Enjoyed our stay.

A quiet, clean hotel right outside of Portland. The breakfast was good, there were several choices. The room was clean and the pool and spa were great. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We will stay again!

Best Western is my new goto hotel chain. Staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Room was spotless. Wall were a bit thin but the neighbors settled down before 10. Breakfast was good. Kind of hard to rub refrigerated butter on a waffle. Coffee was pretty dang good. I will definitely be back for all my Porland stays

Hotel is very nice. One phone was not working and apparently no one had checked to see that it was not charging, even though it was in the sitting area and obvious. Breakfast was pretty good but service in a rather cramped area.

We have been staying at this hotel for 22 years now and it is always a top notch stay. It's clean and nice and a great staff. It is a consistently great place to stay for one day or many days. They keep the hotel in very good condition. It's my favorite hotel even over other more expensive ones that I have stayed in.

We have stayed hear many times. The rooms are great, the beds super comfy. The staff is excellent. A full breakfast bar, with lots of little items; cinnamon a powdered sugar for your waffle, nuts and fruit for your oatmeal or yogurt. Everything hot and tasty. Will be back!

Stayed 2 nights. The room and hotel were clean. Comfortable bed. I liked the indoor pool, Jacuzzi, and Sauna. Used the fitness room and it could use a some attention. One of the machines was broke. I was satisfied with the overall stay. Ideal if you are watching a concert at Edgefield and are not staying there.

This is just a very average hotel room and for almost $200 a night it is way overpriced! It is clean and does have a micro and little fridge but very basic looking. Don't expect anything special. I'm not sure why it is a 3 star (although we didn't even check out the pool).

The Hotel and front desk staff are very nice. Next Morning for Breakfast the lady running it was serving raw sausage and slamming dishes in back room, out of coffee and half and half, its not like I came at the end of serving time it was 930 and was to go to 10 , she had already locked yogurt up and wouldn't open it when I asked nice if I could get yogurt and also had turned juice up , I think if told breakfast ran to 10 A.M there should have never been anything locked up or turned off or at least make sure coffee and half and half is full and out, Very Poor on this part rest is very good.

Slow check in. No complaints but it's not as nice or modern as other best western pluses. Some of the staff weren't very friendly. No views from any rooms. Room was clean as was the bathroom. Not familiar with the surrounding neighborhood.

We were only able to stay for one night, but it was wonderful!! The staff was very friendly and helpful:) The room was clean, spacious and had a deck over looking the river. It was quite and relaxing. Fabulous night sleep!!!

We have stayed at this hotel 3 times in the last 3 years and every time we have encounter some issue. I am hopeful at some point we will have a stay without an issue. We continue to return to this hotel because of the location and being able to use the rewards plan.

This was a great room with hardwood floors in the sitting room and carpet in sleeping area. The hotel was extremely clean and the staff was both nice and helpful. This hotel is located right next to the highway and about 15 min away from the airport. The bed was extremely comfortable.

Nicely situated outside of Portland, but the I-84 was a real pain! Very noisy, shut down for work at night making the commute too long! Clean building and up-to-date furnishings. Breakfast had lots of variety, but some days were better than others. Noisy doors when people closing them. Our bed should have been updated, as it was squeaky and not really a pillow top mattress.

I wish your swimming pool, spa and steam room is 24 hours open or if you need to close it at least until midnight and opens early at 6:00am and not open very late morning and closes still very early at night coz we are traveler and our time is limited coming back to hotel and then morning is to hurry up to meet the breakfast time and the remaining time for the day is check out.

Nice and clean. Beds were firm. staff was o.k. Soup and cookies at 6 p.m. standard continental breakfast this a.m. 3 floors quiet rooms. Pool was chilly but hot tub warmed our bones. Hedges could be trimmed on roadside to ease traffic exit from parking area.

We were in town to visit family. I try to have Best Western be my go to when making my reservations. The hotel is beautiful both inside and out. The staff is both courteous and helpful. The beds are very "comfy." The breakfast was great! My ONLY concern is the size of the bathroom. It is VERY small.

Located a short distance off the freeway is a wonderful hotel with great staff and service. The area is very quiet. The full breakfast is wonderful and the room we had was very comfortable. We received a free suite upgrade being a platinum member and the room was wonderful. It's close to restaurants and other amenities in town. It has a pool and hot tub, great for families or couples. It's a good place to stay if traveling through, especially if you want to visit Mt. Hood or the waterfalls.

I stayed unexpectedly due to a sudden illness; it seemed better to break up the 700-mile drive into two days. I had never stayed at this location before, and I loved it. It is clean, modern, easily accessible off the interstate and in a wonderfully quiet location. (The next exit has a bonanza of truck stops, fast food chains and hotels.) I loved the room and the next time I stay in the Portland area, I will choose this hotel.

The location was good for getting to the Columbia River Gorge. The hotel itself was just adequate. Beds very uncomfortable and breakfast was not good. Service was OK and room was a decent size. The frig and microwave came in handy.

Mostly very good, air conditioner too loud to keep running and walls pretty thin. The rooms were seemed to be very clean, beds comfy in general good just the noise factor of the cooling system and I am a light sleeper so the next door woman, who coughed all night kept us awake. If I was in this area I would use this hotel again and hope for a quieter neighbor

Thank you for staying with us and writing a review. I'm sorry to hear you were kept awake your first night by noise. I know how frustrating that can be as I too am a very light sleeper. Unfortunately we cannot ask people not to cough but we can check the AC in the room to make sure it is running properly. The AC will always have some noise but sometimes tightening a screw can help reduce the noise from the fan. We appreciate you letting us know about it so we can take a look at it. Also if you are ever bothered by noise from other guests we would be happy to move you if we can or if it is noise that can be turned down please let us know and we will also be happy to address the problem. We loved our stay. The room was clean and the air conditioning worked perfectly. Bed was very comfortable and clean. The staff was great answering our questions, and we had no hassle with checking in or out.

The title says it all. The room was spacious, nicely furnished and equipped. Nice bedding and towels. It was clean and very quiet. Breakfast buffet was better than the usual hotel fare. Staff were all friendly and helpful.

The hotel is about a 20 minute drive from the airport. The king room and king suite has lots of room and comfortable beds. Nice quiet location. The free wifi works very well and morning free breakfast is very good. Hot coffee available in lobby at all times. Nice pool area. They also have free soup available and cookies in the evening, which is very nice. Right off the freeway and easy access by car to lots of shopping and restaurants. A 5 minute drive to troutdale historic downtown where there are great restaurants and beginning of Columbia gorge highway 30 to waterfalls. Nice friendly staff at breakfast.

This is a great location with easy access to local businesses. The staff is very friendly, professional and goes above the call of duty to make sure your stay in a pleasant and relaxing one. Would highly recommend this location.

Great location and awesome breakfast! Clean and quiet for a great price! We enjoyed the location as it is close to the outlet shopping center. The homemade cookies were a nice treat in the evening. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub before tucking in for the night.

This was a perfect location to visit family and also very accessible to the surrounding area attractions. Very helpful and clean. Great value and helpful staff and manager. Keep up the great job everyone.

Stayed here two nights. Bed was pretty comfortable and shower had decent water pressure. Pretty quiet hotel and breakfast was decent set up. Enjoyed 24 hour coffee station. Drawbacks were giant ant in sink each morning. And 2nd day both of our room keys stopped working. If in Portland again will look elsewhere.

We stay here every time we come to the Portland area. It's a few minutes from the I84 and close to Troutdale restaurants. Rooms are clean, free breakfast, wifi, and lots of parking. It's also close to a gas station, car wash and coffee shop. They also have a gym and a pool. The staff had been friendly anytime we had question or needed information.

The hotel is located right off the freeway and is close to shopping and restaurants, It's just a short drive to hop on the freeway and head west to downtown or east to visit the Columbia River Gorge area. The beds are comfy, the towels are soft and I had a good nights rest.

In summary I'd say this motel, where we've stayed often because it is close to friends, does not currently rate a Plus from Best Western. Over the last 8 years we've stayed at this motel 2 or 3 times/year because of location. I might stretch my rating to 3.5. There are some good features: ~ Motel is located just 2 blocks off I-84 and before you get into Portland proper so it can be convenient for someone coming in from the Columbia Gorge or going that way. ~Rooms have a microwave and mini-refrigerator. ~Rooms are quiet. ~ Attractive carpet and wall paper. ~Several free area newspapers each morning. ~Free internet and many TV channels. Here are features that are not what they have been in the past: ~Friendly service used to be something to look forward to. On this visit the front desk person displayed very few customer service skills - she answered in single words, no smile, I felt she was displeased to see us. (The manager appears to be the same as in the past and she is capable and friendly.) ~We were given 2 keys and neither worked. The following morning we had key problems again. The young man at the desk said that has been happening and the key strip needs to be wiped with alcohol. Then for heavens sake do it or replace the system! ~Breakfast is now average rather than excellent, with the usual egg-product patties, tator-tots and sausage, nice make-your-own mini-Belgian waffles, breads, yogurt. I do like the small cups of cottage cheese. ~The facility is not quite as clean as it used to be: the front door is dusty and water spotted, the lounge window has large smears, the halls have been vacuumed but not right into the edges and the same with the room carpets. It's just not the super tidiness I experienced in the past. I will try this motel again and hope for improvement.

Located about 12 miles outside Portland at the beginning of the Columbia River scenic highway. Multi story hotel with l arge standard rooms with very good bed and good bathroom. Fridge microwave in room, Continental breakfast included. Friendly staff. Recommend, Hope this helps.

This was a nice location for the most part, however it would have been a courtesy to let me know they were in the middle of construction project. This caused a limited number of parking spaces and restricted maneuvering in the parking lot. I did have damage to my rear bumper from someone backing into me.

The crew did block off a few spaces in the row by the street but we still have plenty of parking available. Even when we are full we have parking as we have an additional lot adjoining the east side of our parking lot. This lot is used mostly by large vehicles but it is open to all of our guests. We are sorry to hear someone backed into you and didn't let you know about it as well. We hope you will try staying with us again, Kim & Staff

Very clean and recently renovated hotel. Has microwave, refrigerator, hair dryer that ISN'T attached to a wall! Free internet. Good location for us as family was just down the street. The bed was comfy, although the pillows were small.

We've traveled to the Columbia River Gorge a few times each year for the past 5 years. We've nearly always stayed at this hotel the night we get into town or the night before we leave, or both. Gets you close to PDX, but just outside the busy fray. Never again. It's clearly under new management or something has happened. This time, the young lady at the desk was not friendly and barely spoke. We were given room 325, which we had to decline because it smelled like a wet, stale ash tray. We were then begrudgingly given room 124. Then the keys did not work. Again, no apology. The air conditioner did not work. The air hung in the room, and we did not dare sleep with the window open as we were on the ground floor. The bed pillows were bizarre, square, and the size you would give a toddler. We requested more pillows, but only 2 more tiny ones arrived. Most importantly, the mattress was so worn out and hard that neither of us slept more than 3 hours. I got up at midnight feeling like I had been punched between the shoulder blades and kicked in a kidney. My sister's hips went numb. I'd try to book a night on a pallet of 2x4s at the local lumber supply before I'd sign up for this again. We were so anxious to leave in the morning, we left without the breakfast and headed to the airport---where, sad to say, we were far more comfortable.

We are sorry to hear about your experience this time. Our ownership/management has never changed. We are 100% non-smoking and no pets so no room should ever smell like an ashtray or wet and stale. We do everything in our power to remove odors when guests decide to smoke or sneak animals in including removing all linens, cleaning carpets, washing walls, and using a UV wand. We are sorry to hear we failed at removing a lingering odor and you had to be moved to a new room that you also did not like. We understand that beds are comfortable to one person but not comfortable for others and I'm sorry you did not like ours. Our pillows are actually standard size pillows that can look boxy when the housekeepers fold the pillow case in and stand them across the top of the bed. We also should have handled your needs better. As you can see by the majority of our reviews we normally excel in service, comfort, and cleanliness. We sincerely apologize for failing you during this stay. We have some new staff at the front desk and we will use your feedback to continue our customer service training so we can make continued improvements for all of our guests. Hotel guest room services were lacking. No one came to make up the room until 4:30 pm. Breakfast food service was disappointing. Trays stayed empty waiting for eggs and coffee to be refilled. I waited for 15 minutes for a tray of eggs to come out of the prep microwave and to be put on the buffet. Coffee pots were not refilled in a timely manner.

A nice hotel, under the BW logo, but was very disappointed with the $185.00 for one night, times 2 rooms - $370.00. The condo we stayed at in Depoe Bay cost less than $150/night for the 4 of us on the ocean. This was located near the airport with all kinds of traffic. I've been a BW member for over a decade, but did not think this place warranted a price almost double of what we always spend in more luxurious hotels, Holiday Inn, Marriott, Hilton. I just felt being taken advantage of. No waterfront, no cozy village, but right in the city near a huge airport. That was my disappointment with BW. 'Just because you can, doesn't mean you have the right to'.

Sorry to hear about this experience at a Best Western. It you may be possible that you have the wrong hotel however. We are 12 miles away from the airport and in a small town. Since I don't know when you stayed, your room type, or number of people in each room my response regarding your rate would be that rates are driven by location, events, supply & demand and at this time of year our rates start around $119. Of course suites and extra guests will cost more and lodging tax will vary by city and county which no hotel has control over. Without knowing who you are I can only go by your comment about being "in the city near a huge airport" which again leads me to believe you have the wrong location since this city is so small that we don't even have our own post office and we have no airport noise or traffic issues being 12 miles away from Portland International Airport. It does sound like you enjoyed your stay but not happy with your rate or the noise and traffic of a bigger city. As a member of the Best Western brand I am sorry to hear you were unhappy with any of our hotels. We do appreciate your feedback and business and hope you will try our properties again. Front desk was very friendly and helpful. The room was a good size and clean. Bed was comfy and there wasn't much noise. Front desk directed us to a great restaurant about a mile down the road (Bumpers?). Excellent food and service. View from the window was pretty industrial - but we didn't come there to look out the window. I would stay here again.

Arrived late after 10, and the front desk staff was very courteous and helpful. Gave us directions to all amenities and we were on the 1st floor. Room was a great size. King bed and all room amenities was fabulous. Wish we could've stayed there longer to enjoy the pool, it looked so inviting. Breakfast area was clean, considering we almost missed the breakfast time. Still plenty to choose from.

Had a great experience with my friends for a girls weekend. We planned a trip to McMenamins Edgewater but they did not have private facilities available and this was within walking distance. will definitely return.

Room was musty. Bith wife and I got a headache. Good location if heading out to Columbia river gorge. Breakfast was basic and ok. Bed was extremely uncomfortable flip and flop couldn't sleep staff was very friendly well lit seems pretty well taken care of

This hotel is in a good location and a convenient place to stay if you want to explore the Columbia River and Portland areas. It is close to the freeway, but not right next to it. We stayed two nights and enjoyed the breakfast in the morning. They even had gluten free options! The hotel also offers free Wi-Fi and parking. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff was friendly and helpful.

Convenient to downtown and McMinnemans property. Uber is available for cheap transportation. We stayed in a King suite and it was very spacious.Great breakfast and friendly staff. Clean hotel. The falls are about 20 minutes away.

This hotel seems to be recently renovated - new carpet and drapes possibly. We went out on our first day and when we returned at 2:30 our room still wasn't cleaned. We asked the housekeeper working on another room in our hall to please do our room next which she did - much appreciated. Staff was nice. Breakfast was fairly standard. Hotel was conveniently located with plenty of parking. Good choice for a hotel in this area.

Spent one night an it was very good stay. Bed was sooo comfortable. We arrived at 5 pm an the receptionist was setting up hot " free" crockpot of soup an fresh hot cookies. It was perfect after a long drive. There is a Dairy Queen restaurant in the same parking lot. Refrigerator an microwave in room was convenient. Laundry was available also.

A clean and comfortable BW in Troutdale. Within 15 mins drive to PDX and 25 to downtown Portland. Very friendly and fast check-in process. In the online booking, requested a room away from vending/elevators and they honoured this request. Plenty of work and living space in the king room assigned. Faced a quiet parking lot. HVAC was efficient as well. Would stay here again.

I booked a room here to attend my nieces wedding in the gorge. When my grandson and daughter let me know that they were coming I offered to have them stay in my room. Suddenly needing two beds I went down to the desk after checking in. Not only did they work to get me switched on a very busy weekend, they helped me move to my new room. Seth, behind the desk not only worked hard in locating a room, he helped me load in my new room. I spend a fair amount of time on the road but this was the best customer service I have experienced. This young man is a real asset but I must say while I don't know all the names, the entire staff was top shelf in my book. Highly recommend this hotel for s Columbia Gorge adventure!!!!!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff were fantastic and assisted with all our queries regarding the local area. They were very helpful of where and what to see. Our room was quite large, noticeably clean and the beds were very comfortable. I must compliment the breakfast attendant as she went out of her way to assist with gluten free products for my wife. We will certainly be back again to stay here. Close to the hotel is Troutdale a quaint little place both my wife and I enjoyed looking around. Also Troutdale is the gateway to the Historic Columbia River Highway which is a must visit to anybody who stays here.

I'm a tough reviewer, but I think I'm fair. I don't slam a property because I got my shorts in a wad over some small thing. Finding a nice place in the Gresham area is not easy. I think this BW+ is probably as nice, if not nicer than anything else around. The property has good parking for the size of the hotel. This seems to be a hot spot for construction types as evidenced by the utility trucks in the lot. That's not good or bad, it just is. I like construction types, they work hard thus are usually kicking back and quiet when they end their day. Whoever said this place is nice, fresh, and new was off base. It is reasonably clean but has a very musty odor when you first enter. To be honest, unless a property makes it a priority, moldy/musty tends to be normal in the Pacific Northwest. The colors and artwork are not very modern. It looks to be 15 years out from a remodel. I was in the Business Suite. It was a large room but if you advertise suite, I expect a full size refrigerator and some sort of cooking ability other than a .75 cu ft microwave. The bed and I didn't get along, but I like a very firm bed. The room was clean each day when I returned so the housekeeping staff is on their game. This can make or break a hotel in my opinion. I suppose the breakfast offering was average for a 2.5 or 2 star property. I chose not to eat any of it as it was mostly carbohydrates. Friendly enough staff. The checkin process took longer than I preferred. All in all, an OK place.

Good location off of the highway. Very quiet area of town. Comfortable beds and clean. The breakfast was very good and plenty of choices. Employees are very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel.

Overall, we were pleased with the hotel. The room was well appointed and spacious except for the bathroom which was minuscule - no other description for it. Staff was friendly and helpful and breakfast had good selection. Location is good as it is close to the Interstate and has a number of restaurants within a five minute drive.

Easy to find. Loved it. The room was clean, the staff friendly. The food was really good. The location was perfect, I had a wedding to attend less than 5 minutes away. Many of our friends stayed there too.

This Best Western Plus is a great landing place on the est side of Portland, Oregon. Our room was on the third floor and was very quiet. What struck us most was how big the room was - a sleeping area plus a living area. Everything was clean and in order. The people were excellent too - even the breakfast cook came out to ask how my bisquits and gravy were (excellent if you want to know). The only negative - why do motels only have one comfortable chair to lounge in? When we stay, one of us always has to sit in the desk chair. We would stay here again.

We always choose this Hotel, great place, good central location, excellent staff. Definitely recommend this place. We go down to Oregon usually once a month and always book in advance as they get to fill up fast.

Comfortable bed.. But way too expensive for the amenities in the room. For 2 people.. this room should have had a hot tub.. paying over $200 was way too expensive. The breakfast was outstanding.. Delicious!

This was a first time visit to the Columbia Gorge area, our location was very well centered for our purpose. We had a very good variety of museums and historical points of interest. The only downside in our two day visit was our poor choices for restaurants.

Stayed here for a wedding being held at nearby Mcmenamin Edgefield resort. Room was clean and well appointed with fridge, microwave and in-room coffee (although we brought our own personal keurig brewer). Morning breakfast adequate. Friendly staff. Note - even numbered rooms on the front side away from the freeway. Ours was 220 and didn't have any problems with traffic noise at night.

Large suite, ample full coped breakfast, 24-hour strong coffee, right off I-84, in-door pool, jacuzzi, steam room, gym. As a business traveler, this is one of the best venues that I have been in in years. What a pleasant surprize! We will definitely be back!

I enjoyed my visit very much. This is one of the cleanest hotels that I have stayed in. The suite was huge and the bed was extremely comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful! Also, the breakfast bar was very nice - lots of great choices to pick from. I always enjoy my stay with Best Western hotels & resorts.

This hotel is acceptable for a Best Western; however, for the Portland area it could be better. The price was high given its distance from the airport. Not much more I can say about this hotel. A not so satisfied guest.

Our area attractions are more for the traveler seeking the scenic beauty of the Columbia River Gorge or maybe attending a wedding or concert at the popular venue so close to us. Our rates do fluctuate based on the season like most hotels do. Summer is our high season which helps to carry us through our lower demand and lower prices in the winter. We stayed here for 2 nights while touring the Columbia Gorge region. When we checked in, the female front desk clerk did an AMAZING job of showing up on 3 different maps how to get from the hotel to best views & waterfalls. Saved us hours of researching. Staff made great recommendation for delivery pizza that was spot-on & appreciated after a long day of driving. Breakfast was very good, with the best waffles of our 2 week trip. Stayed in King Bed suite and very impressed with the room...which was larger than several Hilton properties we had stayed in. Easy on and off the expressways. Would recommend for either couples or families.

The personnel who checked us in were top notch! Made us feel very welcomed..... The rooms were clean and attractive. The pool area was great and our grand kids had a lot of fun using it! We travel a lot and have stayed in other motels in the area, but from now on, anytime we pass through the Portland area and need a room...this motel would be my number one choice!

Hotel was decent, room was clean, and free had hot breakfast in the morning. The location is easy to get to, and a good spot for jumping off to the various areas around Portland. Not much night activity in this area, but a good place to stay for a family vacation, where dining and nightlife are not as important.

Clean, quiet, nice breakfast options, close to the Portland Airport, and the WiFi worked great. It's perfect for a business trip. It might be great for vacations too, I was just focused on an in and out business trip where I needed to get some work done the night I was there.

The staff at the front desk was very helpful. The room was clean and I didn't hear any noise. My kids loved the pool and hot tub. Breakfast was better than most free breakfasts - the food was fresh, the bacon crispy, and the eggs seemed fresh as well. A good solid choice for a quick night stay on the way to the Columbia River Gorge.

Family members stayed at this hotel while attending a wedding. We were very pleased that other family members could join us at the hotel for breakfast at a very nominal fee $5.00 per person. The staff was very friendly and supportive.

We just needed a room close to the venue we were attending. This BW was within walking distance. The room was clean and roomy. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We even got an upgrade without asking. Very nice.

Beds were fairly comfortable (I'm fussy) staff was friendly, breakfast bar in the morning was good, pool and exercise room were sufficient. Overall a nice experience and we stayed for 5 nights. I would recommend this place and would likely stay there again if I were to visit the area. Also close enough to Portland to get downtown within a half an hour.

Our second stay at this inn and it didn't disappoint again. Nancy, at check-in, actually remembered us from our stay last fall. She was extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast area is more spacious than most inns. We really enjoyed our 5 days/nights in Troutdale/Gresham area.

Had to stay on business and was able to relax with ease. Hot coffee at all times in the lobby, and very polite staff. Not much of a sound sleeper, and although the room was perfect, still had trouble being able to get comfortable- truly no fault of this facility. If you are a relaxed traveler, you will find the rooms to be very accommodating. Didn't get a chance to try the pool, but the breakfast was well stocked for any level of dietary needs. Rooms were in a budget mid-area, but I feel the facility supported the cost.

Not a hipster in sight. No brew pubs within walking distance. Why on earth should you stay here?!? We were in town to do some hiking in the Columbia River Gorge and wanted to have a short drive each day. Location was perfect -- far enough from the interstate to be quiet, close enough for quick access. Room was spacious, QUIET and comfortable. WiFi worked great and lots of plugs to charge our ever-growing collection of electronics. Room also had a fridge and microwave. Breakfast was more than cold carbs . . . . bacon, biscuits and gravy, et al. Needed to hike to burn off those calories! Staff were friendly and helpful.

Very close to the main highway and perfect for visiting the gorge. Free parking and very nice free breakfast. They bake chocolate chip cookies nightly and have a coffee station in the lobby. Beds were comfortable, quiet room not overly large but perfect for the two of us. The staff was helpful and polite and always greated us with a smile. Free wifi worked very well. We would definitely stay here again when in the area. We used the hot tub several time, really fantastic after a long day or walking or hiking.

I recently stayed one night, and when I was ready to check out the next morning, my car wouldn't start. Nancy, at the front desk, was so incredibly helpful. She brought out a portable battery charger for me to try, and then phoned Miguel (facilities?) to help me with it. Miguel made several attempts, but my battery was so drained I had to call AAA. Nancy warmly invited me to spend the time waiting in the lobby, with plenty of coffee at my disposal. Both she and Miguel were warm, courteous, and very professional. (She had also greeted me upon my check-in the afternoon before, and again, was so pleasant and helpful. And, on top of the great service, my room was very nicely appointed, clean, and very comfortable.) Thank you Nancy and Miguel!

When walking into the hotel, the clerk was seated and reading a book. As I approached he continued reading and even when I stood there at the counter, he remained seated. His voice was very soft and I had to ask him to repeat himself three times. There was no apparent sense of urgency or desire to serve the customer. The larger issue was in the room. They store the towels on an open shelf immediately next and level with the toilet. Maybe 10 inches between. Guys.... think about it.

this is a comfortable hotel for the price, good breakfast, nice indoor pool with jacuzzi and sauna- a plus! they were nice enough to give us a "breakfast on the go" as we had to leave before breakfast was served at 6am to get to a half marathon race 45 miles away.

In Troutdale for a wedding. Stayed at Holiday Inn when came up for site visit. Next to truck stop, so noisy at night. This hotel much much better. Friendly staff, decent breakfast and comfortable beds.

Great place to stay. Hotel was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good. Centrally located. Close to the falls and the zoo. Twenty minute drive to Portland and the local falls. Would stay here again in the future.

We go down to Oregon a few times a year. We always look to stay at the same location because we really enjoy staying there. We know the staffing is very friendly, and pleasant. The rooms are great and we always get an upgrade if upgrade rooms are available without us having to ask. Great place and location, excellent breakfast, the pool in nice and yes..... the warm cookies in the evening.

We have stayed at this location numerous times the last few years. We have stayed at a couple of other Best Western locations when we first started going down to Oregon because we did not know the area. The only way we will stay at other locations if the fact/reason that Cascade Inn is fully booked. We try to book in advance a few months at a time now, just to make sure they have availability. We always enjoy the stays, the staffing is excellent and very friendly, especially Nancy. She always interacts with the guests and ask how is the stay and if there is anything we need. Very pleasant staffing, great rooms, breakfast has many choice. The boys enjoy the swimming pool too, oh... and let's not forget the warm cookies in the evening. Great place and always looking forward in staying there.

This is the best quality hotel nearest to Rooster Rock State Park. I will be back again soon. Great assortment of breakfast items, but gluten free toast would be nice. I enjoyed the fresh fruit that included bananas, oranges, and apples. Internet was fast and did not experience any slowness or access issues. Fresh coffee always available in lobby and receptionist check-in was great. Check-out was promised an electronic email receipt but did not receive one. Recommend picking up a paper receipt before you leave.

Every year we attend a workshop at McMennamins Edgefield resort which is 1/2 mile away. We prefer this hotel because it is basic, quiet, easy access with a satisfactory breakfast. Rooms are standard, staff is nice. Works for us. We'll be back.

This hotel is a little out of the way, but is a great value (for what we paid). Rooms are redone, breakfast area is small but is a great continental breakfast. A few more choices than the usual breakfast. Pool area is great with a heat sauna. Staff is very helpful. Would stay again.

We enjoyed our 2 nights stayed at this location. As a platinum member, we got upgrade to a king suite. It is very nice and comfortable. The breakfast is adequate, the location is perfect, not far from Portland and convenient to visit Columbia Gorge.

Typical BW standard hotel. No where near a BW Plus. Lobby is old & a bit outdated. Rooms also a bit outdated in the style. We booked a 1 Queen bed, but the size is really a Double, which was fine, but let's call it what it is. Bathroom was so small that I couldn't even put my toiletry bag down in there. Bathroom was old as well. The only "plus" piece about it was the room had USA made products (Shampoo, conditioner, soap, etc..). They were very nice. Room was clean. Basically a Old hotel that needs updating. People who worked there were very nice & helpful about the things to do in the area.

In December we painted all of our rooms and have also recently added all new lighting and new granit bathroom vanities. You did stay in a room with one queen size bed which is the smallest of our rooms and the bathroom is smaller in those four rooms. I assure you the mattress was a queen size. We do not have any doubles in our building at all. Queen size is our smallest and I myself am used to a king size bed so queens seem small to me as well. We have been staying here for 20 years and it just gets better with every visit. It's only about 8 minutes drive to Portland where we have business meetings to attend from the hotel. This hotel works for business or family trips. It's a friendly, calm atmosphere with great service. I want to buy the mattress they have there for my home because it is so comfortable. Easy access to freeway.

We had trash on the floor of our hotel room when we checked in. The maid walked in as my children were getting dressed. My daughter got hit in the face with a football when she was swimming. There were about 20 kids in the pool unsupervised in the pool. I told the front desk - they did nothing. At breakfast there were ants on the muffins that my son was going to eat for breakfast.When we checked out the front desk said she was going to give us a discount. but she added $75.00 twice to my account and then refunded it the $75.00 twice and said that was the discount. I told her no it was the same price at the beginning. It took her FOREVER to realize that. Now I have all these extra charges on my card.

This Best Western Hotel in Troutdale, Oregon is a fantastic place to stay. The staff is very considerate, helpful and friendly which makes it so nice to stay there. The breakfast is always good with quite a few items to choose from. The rooms are always clean and everything in them works fine.

We stayed here while visiting friends and so didn't get to use the pool. The whole facility is very clean and well maintained. The breakfast was really one of the best breakfast bars I have seen. Everything was fresh and clean. Great selection, the attendant was very good. We will be back!

Used this hotel while I did the Gorge 50 K ultra marathon. Great facility with pool and jacuzzi to cure the muscles after the race. Conveniently located close to shops, and very short drive to Troutdale with its nice little restaurants and cafes. Would recommend this hotel to everyone who is planning future 50K Gorge ultras

This hotel is newer, well maintained grounds and rooms. Lobby is bright, with plenty of seating for breakfast. the location is a little remote, not too much to pick from as far as restaurants in the immediate area. Staff can be hit and miss, some are a little persnickety, while others are very friendly and professional. Breakfast choices are plenty.

This is the second time we have stayed here. We enjoy the indoor pool, the bed (and even the pillows) are very comfortable, and the breakfast is great. It is close to some very beautiful waterfalls and the Columbia River Gorge.

When I travel for family matters, I typically stay in a hotel of the category similar to Best Western. The bed was comfortable, the room clean, and the curtains sufficiently opaque to block out the street light outside the window. Like many hotels, the Best Western aspires to be environmentally friendly by encouraging you to reuse towels and sheets. But they fall short by providing a refrigerator that sits empty and consumes many kilowatt hours. The room is a decent size, having a desk area and an upholstered chair and ottoman. The bathroom, however, is small by comparison. The granite counter top extends past the sink and is located so close to the toilet that it is easy to bang your shoulder or head on the granite while using the toilet. See photo. The breakfast is the typical fare of preformed omelettes, biscuits and gravy, cereal, yogurt, and make-it-yourself waffles. The coffee is some of the worst I've had. Regardless of whether labeled bold, traditional, or normal, it all is weak and bland. I never could figure out what the Plus referred to. Perhaps if I had stayed in the hotel before it got the Plus designation, I might be able to point out those features. There is nothing to distinguish above other hotels in this class.

Great big rooms (we were with 2 adults and 3 kids), nice indoor swimming pool for the kids to jump into after a long day on the road, nice hot breakfast and good service. Location is a little of the track (we were travelling the I5) but the price reflects that.

We should have stayed at Edgefield. My coworker and I booked 2 rooms here. We usually have good experience with Best Western. The hotel looks good upon arrival. The evening desk person was surly and unhelpful - both of us (and the person behind us) felt the young man was rude. He refused to verify the price of our rooms that were booked through Expedia. The rooms were adequate but neither spacious or much upgraded. The view from my room was awful -- industrial trucks coming & going. Our compliments go to the breakfast bar staff - they were helpful in every way.

Staff were excellent. Stayed in a clean spacious first floor room, big king size mattress, blankets and pillows that were very comfortable. Really liked the place, not far off the main highway. They had a good breakfast, tasted like basic microwave rewarmed food, sausage gravy and biscuits, sausage links, cheese omelets, make your own waffles, fruit, cereals and all the other stuff,coffee and drinks enough to fill your belly. Nice pool and hot tube. The only problem is that it's all by itself with not really anything around except a warehouse in the back and a few very small stores across the street. Have to drive to get something to eat unless you just have pizza delivered. I thought with the location of the place and no views of anything they should have cheaper room rates.

The hotel was nice, but what really set it apart was the customer service during the graveyard shift. After check in , I laid down for a planned one hour nap, but overslept and woke up at 1am felling hungry. I went to the front desk, the attendant called a taxi dispatch, but they never answered or called back, so then she helped me call delivery restaurants, none delivered that late, so then she gave me part of her lunch and wouldn't accept any money, this was very kind

I work at night and sleep during the day. Made sure to let the front desk know at check-in. They were very accomodating, putting me on top floor near the end of hall for a quieter stay. Also they left a note for housekeeping letting me know that I was a day sleeper. That didn't stop housekeeping from calling my room, waking me up to ask if they could clean. The second morning, same thing. This time I didn't answer. Next morning, as soon as I walked into the lobby, I had the front desk run out to ask me if I needed my room cleaned. As much as I appreciated their devotion to making sure my needs were met, that's why I communicate at checkin. Annoyed at being woken two days in a row. I will continue to voice my concerns on not having accessible power outlets to charge my devices unless I unplug lamps or alarm clocks. My bedside lamps also didn't work unless I turned on the entry light. That meant getting up and walking across room to turn out the entry light when I was ready to sleep. Even with these few annoyances, I really like this hotel. It's not on a main arterial so it is quiet, always has available parking, coffee in lobby is always hot, cookies baked and offers a soup in the lobby several evenings a week for a light evening supper. It is also far enough out of Portland to offer a more reasonable room rate yet is close enough to make it convenient.

We actully received our new lighting shipment this week. Each of the lamps have additonal outlets built into them and we are also changing the outlet in each room that is operated by the light switch. Excellent hotel, friendly employees day and night. Very clean room, comfy bed, quiet place. Breakfast was very nice, they offer "real" eggs in different forms, cottage cheese, greek style yogurt, soy milk, different fruits besides waffles and other goodies. Place is very accessible it is near a gas station, near Walmart and 20 minutes from downtown. Ample parking space we didn't have any problems even when we got it late. They serve free breakfast in the morning, they have a waffle maker, which i like. A little backgrounder, we went on a comiccon weekend, lots of people checked in, and they were quick to refill everything (muffin, yogurt, bread, juices, milk) Only knock is one of the wall socket didn't have power. No locker for valuables.

We spent four nights in this hotel. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a refrigerator and microwave. Coffee in the lobby, and cookies, pretty much all the time. We were on the third floor near the vending machines, but were not bothered by any noise. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Exercise room had a variety of equipment including stationary bike, treadmill, and elliptical machine. Decent wifi.

The staff are terrific at this BW. Genuine smiles and willingness to anticipate your needs(booked 2 rooms for same night in two separate reservations and arrived to find they gave us adjoining rooms). Not a clueless staff. Very clean BW and great energy of staff.

The staff always had a friendly, genuine smile and always assisted us with any needs that we had. Whether it was assisting us with our luggage, supplying us with additional towels, allowing us to use the laundry facilities after hours. We truly enjoyed our stay here. We give this hotel an A+!

If your staying in the Portland area this hotel is very nice. Staff is very friendly and the Room was very comfortable. The breakfast was so so and my only disappointment. I have had better breakfast but I have also had worse.

At this hotel the staff all were very helpful, particularly the desk staff. They helped us find a late dinner as we arrived after 10:00 pm at the hotel. The beds were very comfortable, and the next morning the free breakfast was very good. Also, the breakfast staff were very diligent about keeping the food service supplied and neat. Access to the hotel from the I-84 highway was easy.

This was much nicer and more up to date than I was expecting; very pleasantly surprised. Very clean, pleasant, up to date room, lobby, hallways. We didn't use the pool/hot tub/etc, so cannot comment on that. Also did not eat breakfast, but did have several cups of excellent coffee - they had two different brews in addition to the decaf, which was really nice. Would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel, and will definitely choose this one for any future stays in Troutdale.

Great place to stay when in the Portland area. Great breakfast, room, sauna, workout facility and spa. The staff has always been extremely professional. The place is quiet at night, and I always sleep well while I am there. Not only do I stay while on business, but I stay while I am on personal travel since it is such a great value.

Rooms were nice. Breakfast was very nice but we went for the spa tub, Sauna and indoor pool not one of those things were good. Pool, looked dirty sauna would not get hot and jets on spa pool were very weak.

Very happy with our choice to stay here... breakfast service was great, the remodel of this property really made a nice difference. Super convenient & easy to get to the airport without hearing any noise from it.

The suite was huge with a very comfortable bed, comfortable sofa, desk with real desk chair, refrigerator (not a mini-bar), microwave, nice size TV, nice bathroom. They offer a hot breakfast which was pretty good for a motel breakfast, but still was lacking in quality versus a restaurant. Always hot coffee 24/7 with real half-and-half. It was close to I-84 but very quiet.

The staff was super friendly, the room was clean. Great location for where we were visiting. Close to several restaurants. It was easily accessible to and from the freeway, easy to find! I would definitely slay there again.

This is a fairly nice Hotel. The Maids could have been better about their cleaning tho. And could have left enough soaps, shampoos, etc. For the amount of people in the Party. Plus the Check-Out Time is too early. I feel that Check Out Time should be after 12:00. When I am on Vacation, I like to sleep in. Who doesn't? LOL! Also the breakfast could be a lot tastier. The eggs must not have been real eggs. They didn't have a decent taste. Not satisfactory, at all. Plus the food should be available till 11:00.

The hotel is in good condition and the grounds well lit. Arrival experience was very blah - no smiles like other places. The fitness area was nice and we did use it. Breakfast was good and plentiful. The room itself was clean and yet the bathroom was very small. Sure wish more space was invested there. Overall, middle of the road.

Very nice staff. Actually cared about our stay. Breakfast was great and the hotel was clean. The staff their real go out of their way to make sure your stay is a positive one. The gal behind the counter came out and showed us the breakfast set up. We went out to dinner and brought back left overs but forgot silverware and she gave us plates, silver ware, and bowls. Hot tub was perfect. Not to much chlorine and the pool was spot less. Nice option having the towels at the pool so you don't have to steal the ones in your room.

We stayed there 3 nights while visiting friends in Troutdale. The staff were friendly and efficient. After I left I discovered I had forgot to clear out the closet, left 2 jackets and several shirts. I called and within a week I had a box of nicely folded and packaged clothes on my doorstep. Excellent service.

I am disabled and needed an ADA room. The room was more than adequate with plenty of space for my power wheelchair and included a large bathroom with a roll-in shower. They had a power lift for the hot tub and pool that worked great.

Good value in the North East area around Portland. 15 min. to downtown. Hotel amenities and staff were excellent. Room was very good overall. Breakfast was very good and fresh. Lots of variety, something for everyone. Hotel and rooms were spotless and the reason was clear: the staff works tirelessly to keep it that way, even polishing the drinking fountain several times a day. Excellent attention to detail. The staff was very professional, friendly and responsive. They were also helpful in finding local restaurants for dinner-not walking distance, but close by car.

We stay at this hotel due to the great rooms, service and the year round ability to use the pool/spa. It's also has quick access to Hwy 84 and is only a short time to get to the airport. We'll be staying here again in a few weeks due to this convenience.

Close to freeway, but not noisy. Couldn't use pool after 10 pm. Breakfast was better than average. Showed up late- around 9 pm and check in was a breeze. Close to several fast food restaurants and not too long of drive to nicer restaurants.

$99 room, clean, quiet (top floor). Drive a couple miles, park for free, ride MAX into Portland for $5/day. Lots of restaurants and shopping nearby. Close to I-84. Quick and early check-in was nice. Will stay here again.

We have stayed here last three years for Reynolds High School Living History Day where veterans talk to students about military experiences. We are close to school and the amenities are very good. We like the friendly staff and clean rooms.

The location is handy; the hotel is clean and well-kept. The room was very quiet and comfortable. The bed was great. Breakfast was fine, with many hot choices. The front desk personnel were helpful. Would stay here again.

Picked the hotel because it was close to the start of the Columbia River Gorge. Very good stay. Not really close to amenities( Restraunts, bars, etc.) but all are not too far away to drive. The best close place is Edgefield. A must see. Over all, what I expect from BW pus, and that is why we picked it.

We have stayed at this hotel for several years, once every two months due to a meeting we have to attend in Portland. It is very clean, the staff is superb and on weeknights at 6:00 they have soup and cookies. When we have left something in our room they always have it for us when we return.

Comfortable beds, newer carpet, nicely remodeled bathroom. Had microwave, mini fridge and coffee maker in room which was convenient. One thing hotels have to start doing is putting power outlets where it is convenient. I am tired of pulling out dressers, unplugging in room lamps and crawling under tables so that I can plug in my chargers.

Where to begin? We stayed at this property based on Trip Advisor reviews from October 3-October 11, 2015, The experience could not have been better. We were interested in sight seeing along the Columbia Gorge and the location of the hotel could not have been better, The courtesy extended by the front desk was oustanding. We especially enjoyed the breakfast every morning. the coffee was hot and good, the buffet kept full and the food was very good. We looked forward to the cookies served every day when we got back to the hotel after a day of exploring. The hotel is also close to Edgefield and many nice restaurants. Thank you for a great stay!

We are extremely picky about the quality of any hotel we stay at. We found this hotel to be extremely clean and well cared for. The staff were all very friendly. The breakfast bar was maintained throughout the entire breakfast service period. Although we didn't use either of them, both the pool and fitness appeared to be properly maintained as well. The hotel appeared to be at capacity but was very quiet throughout our stay.

Just 20 minutes for Portland Airport (PDX) and Multinomah Falls recreation area. Close to Columbia River view. Easy to find side by side with The County Hall. Breakfast better than others but nothing special.

My 15 year old daughter and I were doing some waterfall hiking an decided on BWPCI&S since it was close to the Colorado river hikes we were planning. Conveniently located in Troutdale, which was a cute little one main street city. Staff was friendly. Room was clean and cozy. Breakfast hit the spot. Loved the town of Gresham, which was a few miles away. Would recommend.

If you're looking for a safe and clean hotel this is it. The breakfast is the best part of the day. The staff is very friendly and go out of their way to help you.This hotel is right off the freeway and has easy access.

We chose this hotel because it was in a convenient location to tour the Columbia River Gorge and to go to the Portland International Airport. We found the hotel to be in a location convenient to restaurants too. Our room was quiet and spacious with updated furnishings and even a comfortable chair. The free Wifi was fast and worked well. The breakfast buffet offered a lot of options, including hot food and waffle makers.

We spent a night here before heading through the gorge to Hood River. The hotel was clean and comfortable. We thought Troutdale was a cute little town and a good place to stay if you want to get an early start driving the Historic Columbia River Highway.

We travel quite often to the Oregon state to visit friends and of course, always do some shoppings. We always look to stay at Best Western and we have stayed at other locations only if this one is fully booked. We really enjoy coming to this hotel. Staff is always great and helpful. Thanks Jeremy for upgrading our room without us asking. The room was really nice, amenities are great, especially the pool (the kids loved it!) The breakfast is always very good as it offers variety of item to please everyone. I always try to book in advance and now I have reservations already for end of October, November and December. Great place to stay when traveling in the area. Recommend it to all my friends and relatives.

The room was very noisy . . outside traffic, walls & doors paper thin, air conditionng unit was very loud when it turned on. I was in a double queen with sitting area but the bathroom was extremely small, could barely turn around in it. I would not recommend for a quiet, restful stay.

This hotel was ok. The room was very good, bright, roomy, with comfortable beds. Check in was ok. The breakfast was fair when compared to other hotel chains we had stayed at, especially for this price.
