I attended a Blues Show n wanted to visit the casino. Upon arrival the receptionist was great, sweet enough to whip up my spilled tea, n complimented my nails. The room was big n clean. The WiFi was quick. I was 5 min from the casino. N I've never had a breakfast with so many options and everything was fresh. The price was a lil high but I'll definitely stay again.
This hotel offers breakfast and fresh coffee and is always accommodating. It seems to be in transition and upgrading. It's a great option for a quick work trip. Located close to everything and reasonably priced.
We had a large family event and had multiple rooms rented for weekend. Staff was very accommodating to meet all of our needs with a smile. We had to ask for more towels, more bedding, etc. and staff was quick to get everything we needed. Very much appreciated.
Our room/suite was very roomy and clean! The beds were comfortable. We enjoyed the breakfast, especially the fresh fruit and the waffles! The grandkids enjoyed the big pool. The staff was friendly and helpful.
The lamp was broken in our room and there was pancake syrup on the tv cabinet. Mold and ants in the bathroom. Back door to the hotel was not locked so anyone could come and go at any time. The entire hotel smelled of smoke even the non smoking rooms.
Just an overnight stop. Some fast food restaurants close by if you like to have a snack. Bed was comfy, large, clean room. No time to use hot breakfast in the morning, but it looked good, and the coffee was good.
Had to call the cops because the front desk wouldn't answer to take care of the domestic situation in the room next door to me. I called multiple times and I never got an answer. I was a bit displeased to say the least. It was also just not clean.
The water pressure was extremely low. The tv would not work the telephone was not even hooked up it was just sitting there for looks. The location of the hotel was ok as far as being close to the casino that's the only thing good I can say
Clean, friendly place to stay, management quickly resolves any questions or issues, convenient to Casino attractions, breakfast, everything looks new , would stay again staff was friendly. rate was a little high, but worth it for a nicer place
There aren't a lot of great choices in which to stay in Philadelphia, MS, but I chose this hotel with the hopes that it wasn't as worn out as the Casino hotels reviewed here. It may not be as worn out, but the cleanliness was a major issue. I've never asked to be moved to another room in a hotel before but I had to ask here and the second room was not much better. The first room had pancake syrup in 3 different places, had not been vacuumed, had water stains on the nightstands, something flaky in the bed and a sheet that had been taken straight out of the package and never washed (I thought they had mistakenly put the shower curtain on the bed!) The second room had the filthiest chair I've ever seen and a nasty microwave. The front desk employee was very sweet, but feeling like you need a good scrub down when you leave a hotel is not great for repeat business. I will stay in another town next time and just plan to drive in for the business I have to do in Philadelphia.
Stayed in a suite with my 3 children. Room was very spacious, beds were comfortable. Room was not clean, needs to be updated, and regular maintenance! Awful musty smell and way to expensive! Guess it was better than not evacuating!
We chose this property as we are Diamond Members and ALWAYS stay at BW. This one needs a LOT of work! Upon entering we could smell the mustiness but attributed it to possibly being extra humid as of late. We arrived just before midnight and were checked in to a room on the 3rd floor. It was a Tuesday evening and there were less than a dozen cars in the lot so the place was almost empty. We opened the door to our room and the musty smell was worse. Since the new clerk was already battling a power surge and the computers were now down, we stuck it out for this night. We bought an air freshener out in town hoping that might help but it didn't make a dent. All we got was fresher smelling mold. Two of the three windows in the room had failed and were covered with moisture between the panes. This had clearly happened a very long time ago because the one window was so bad it was now opaque and you can't see through it. In addition, there is mold in the walls and on the ceiling. We took pictures and marched down to the front desk where a very concerned clerk changed our room immediately. This room was head and shoulders above the room we were originally given. However, it should be noted that there must be a big mold problem since you can smell it on entry to the property, the one room was obviously compromised, and the halls on the third floor smell strongly of mold as well. This isn't all coming from a single room. The first room didn't have a hair dryer so I went to the clerk (who again is in the middle of trying to get computers up and running at midnight) and waited for some time while she finally got a moment to go rob one from another room since there were none on their storage shelves apparently. In addition, the shower head in the room was totally calcified so the spray pattern was a mess and the tub drain was very slow so even a quick shower left me drying off in ankle deep water. The replacement room had a new shower head, and a hair dryer, and the tub drained as it should. My guess is that the young lady was not supposed to provide us with the room she did the first night, but being new she had no way of knowing? The smell was so bad, and that window was in such bad shape there is no way on earth that housekeeping was unaware. Certainly if other guests had been subjected to that room they would have complained which leads me to believe the owners of this property are just choosing to neglect their property. While the common areas look great, you just can't get away from the smell of mold. Both of the ladies that helped us at the counters were wonderful people and seemed very caring. I think they did a good job with what they were given. One has to wonder why a Best Western Plus has less than a dozen cars outside while the unknown brand right next door is almost full. If I have to stay in this town again, which is a real likelihood, I will make my reservation directly with the desk and demand assurances that the mold issue has been fully eradicated.
I had originally booked at casino and was greatly disappointed in quality and service. Checked out and came to Best Western plus. Was impressed by quality and price. Will stay again when in the area. Clean rooms and very friendly staff.
My boyfriend invited me to the casino for the weekend and I made reservations here. Everything was excellent and in a convenient location. Staff was very nice and accommodating. We will be back again soon.
Me and a friend made a weekend trip to the casinos a couple months back. We could only get a room here as the area had a bad ice storm and everything else was booked up. When we tried checking in at about 4PM they said they had not cleaned our room as of yet. No big deal we totally understood due to the situation with the ice storm and multiple people calling in. We actually asked for new linens and a few cleaning supplies and we cleaned the room and made our beds. Around 6
The pictures made this look like a nice, updated hotel and while things have been given a bit of a makeover there was an overall feeling of uncleanliness. When we walked in there was an overwhelming ammonia/urine smell. The front desk lady was nice but she told us that the tv's were not working and they would not be working during our stay. The smell continued in our room and the carpets were filthy although it seemed like someone had recently tried to clean them since there were several damp spots. In the morning the breakfast was pretty sparse, although to be expected with COVID. The microwave was not working and I guess the front desk lady was running breakfast as she seemed extremely frazzled and mentioned that breakfast was not her job. She then prepared herself a waffle and sat down at one of the tables to eat. We all felt a little sick after spending the night with that smell and decided to check out early and find somewhere else to stay for the night. I did not report the reason we were checking out early because the poor lady was overwhelmed and I didn't want to add to it or spend anymore not breathing in whatever that smell was.
CC was stolen and they tried to use it at walmart.com multiple times! Never stay here!!! No hot water only luke warm water. Room was not cleaned each day. They just came in and threw the blankets over the bed.
We felt this site was dated. The room was adequate and clean but nothing special. The promised breakfast in this covid era but delivered a bottle of water and a small yogurt in a paper bag. We were not very impressed.
Long story short, my room reeked of urine. Second room offered also reeked of urine. Manager promised to have room throughly cleaned the next day. Wife couldn't wait. Went to Walmart to buy Clorox toilet bowl cleaner and bleach to mop the floor. Still didn't help. Never heard back from manager. Had to burn scented candles to make the stay bearable. This place is a joke and very nasty. BW is history to me.
I mistakenly booked a room online for the NEXT weekend. This BW, the casino and surrounding hotels were all booked, likely due to winter weather. Connie found us a room!! If not, we would have had to sleep in the car in 25 degree weather. Highly recommend their innovative and courteous service. I think many of the staff had been working since the previous day. You could tell they were tired, but the smile never left their faces.
When we did get housekeeping services they walked in the room threw hand full towels on the counter , empty trash and that was it . Then the last two days we did not get housekeeping at all. We were there for a funeral and rented about 8 rooms for 4-5 nights each .
This is a great Hotel to stay at its nice clean Beautiful inside great nice polite friendly staff the great you with a smile they talk to you like they being knowing you all there life they tell you about the offers they have great breakfast great pool area all of the above but an all around great place to stay I Recommend this Hotel to anyone and all.
The Hotel is in a very nice area, my room had a odor and some items in the room did not work. It took about 7 minutes before the water would get hot. Some of the equipment in the breakfast room did not work. Waffle machine and some of the food was cold.
This hotel is absolutely the best, there service is way better then any hotel in the area. I would definitely recommend anyone to stay at this hotel. They are very accommodating to any needs you may have
Employees are the friendliest i have ever encountered at any hotel plus they have an awesome breakfast and it's a great location for easy access to anywhere in Chocktaw,MS.The rooms are very clean with lots of clean towels and wash cloths.
This best western plus is a clean comfortable hotel with employees who go above and beyond to make your stay great beds are very comfortable breakfast was good lots of hot water and fluffy towels all a must for us
Grandkids, disabled husband and I stayed overnight. Day manager gave us a room near the back door for easy access to truck with mobility scooter. She recommended a great restaurant and then the hot breakfast was awesome. All the picky eaters could find what they liked. Great staff and hotel!!!
We chose Best Western Hotel because of the last time we stayed at one. The breakfast and pool were the main items that we needed. We were not disappointed. Our room was very spacious and comfortable. All of the staff members that we encountered were friendly and helpful.
Stayed here for family funeral.Staff very friendly and helpful. Room very nice and comfortable. Breakfast buffet was very good.Will stay here in the future and will recommend to friends and family.Thanks to the great staff for a great stay!
We had a very wonderful stay at both Best westerns Staff was extremely nice, rooms were very very clean. It had all the things you could possibly need in your room The staff was extremely helpful with directions
This was a very nice motel run by very nice people. I did find it a bit funny that after all the warnings about it being a non smoking facility, the first thing you see is an employee sitting on the front step smoking a cigarette, but that does not necessarily mean anyone ever smoked inside. The only real problem you are likely to have is the crowd at breakfast. Somehow it is just not conducive for the large crowd that shows up there for breakfast very early.
Cleanliness is on the top of my list wherever I stay. The hotel was clean from the time you stepped in the door. I received a great night sleep and the pillows were some of the best that I have every had. at a hotel. The staff was knowledgeable about the area, friendly and accommodating.
Evening front desk staff was not very hospitable. We were just checked into the room and given no information on location and times of breakfast, pool, fitness center, etc. Saturday morning breakfast area was extremely busy with one attendant working. This was frustrating for the guests as well as the attendant. She definitely needed help with the amount of guests consistently coming down. She worked nonstop and had a nice attitude, but you could tell she felt defeated. The lady at the desk in the morning was very attentive and pleasant. The room was mostly clean. The bed side tables were sticky and had to be wiped off while we were in the room.
Don't plan on using any of the amenities they are all broken. You can hang out in a smelly room all night though. Beautiful exterior lead to disappointment on review of the interior. Gave a good dinner recommendation.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Best Western in Philadelphia, MS. We attended a conference this time but will stay at this hotel again for sure. All the services which we have come to expect at Best Western were great. One note on this particular Best Western is its fitness room. A great job there. There was a treadmill, elliptical machine, stationary bike and a bench that adjusted along with free weights, resistance bands and very thick mats for floor work. The machines worked perfectly (we've been to other locations where the machines squeaked or didn't work at all). We always bring our own supply of sanitizing wipes but it would be nice if the hotel would supply them; maybe put a sign up that wipes are available at the front desk. Overall, very pleased with the exercise room. And, of course, all the other services offered by Best Western.
Chose this hotel even though I was going to a concert at Silver Star Casino. This hotel feels like new since being renovated - super clean. They even have a shuttle service to get you to/from casino which is only about 3 miles away. Would definitely stay here again!!
Had a great experience beginning with reserving 7 rooms covering 20 days for out of town guests in town for my father's funeral. Nightly, we met in the lobby and was provided fresh coffee. Rooms were nice. Breakfast was oustanding.
Great Hotel and great location area. Breakfast was excellent they staff was very friendly and helpful. Like how the hotel sits in the back away from road. Very clean and well kept. Bed very comfy slept like a baby.
Checked into the hotel on Nov 30 for a 1 night stay while traveling wuth my childrens NJROTC Drill Team. Anita, checked me in and was super sweet. I stayed in room 211. There was a minor hiccup with a housekeeping issue BUT was tendeeld to immediately after I told them. Great job! The bed was very comfortable I slept well that night. Water pressure in the shower was perfect! There is an iron, ironing board, single cup coffee maker, microwave, and refrigerator in the room. Also a flat screen TV. They serve a hot breakfast that consisted of scrambled eggs, sausage patties, sausage gravy, biscuits, as well as waffles, toast bagels and other items. There is a pool as well but it was closed due to it being December and cold of course. If you're in the Philadelphia Mississippi area and looking for accommodations this is your place. Bonus ... Multiple places to eat close by as well as a Wal-Mart about 3 min down the road.
We stayed here last year when it was a a Holiday Inn express. Best Western has done sever updates to the facility and cleaned it up some. Our room and the hotel were clean. Breakfast was your typical hotel breakfast with fake eggs or Omelets with turkey sausage. Nothing to shout about. It was a little noisy the 1st night were were hear with kids running around the halls and the rooms above us until I called the office and they took care of it. The other 3 night were very quiet. There was a little bit of mold in our bathroom by the tub but not enough to complain about or cause the room to smell. However if they don't take care of it quickly it could spread. I would not mind staying here again. It was a fairly nice hotel.
I had an excellent experience. The beds were very comfortable. I was quite impressed with hotel staff. The night front desk clerk was very helpful. I don't think I would fave been treated any better at a relatives .
I stayed here last year when it was a Holiday Inn and it was bad. I wasn't looking forward to staying this year but I heard it was now a BW and had been completely renovated. When I checked in I was told the rooms still had the “new” smell. It may have been renovated but the room stench was horrible; like wet dirty socks! I even asked the desk clerk to come to my room. She agreed that it was not a “new” room smell but was something horrible. She did offer to move me to another room but I had been traveling for a week, unpacked, and just wanted to relax. I bought a bottle of Febreeze and used almost 1 pint in 24 hours. I mentioned it to another clerk and said there was no way housekeeping could overlook it. A housekeeper was standing there and agreed the smells were terrible. IF you work in housekeeping and know your rooms stink, do something about it. Struck out the past 2 years, I'm done with this place.
Room was clean and up to date. Bed slept very good. Pillows was good. Breakfast was very good. Parking a little weird. They are remodeling so excuse the mess outside. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I would stay again!!!
wonderful hotel: it was located in a great location, and a very friendly atmosmphere: the staff was wonderful, and the room was just perfect: overall, it was one of the best best western I have ever visited: I highly recommnend.
The hotel was clean and comfortable. The breakfast provided a good selection and was quick. The hotel was close to the casino and town. The staff was friendly and helpful, they provided good recommendations for area restaurants and directions.
I dont care how many cans of spray you spray in the rooms, that stench does not leave. It smells like a cross between sewage, cigars, and 99 cent cans of potpourri spray. The scent is sickening sweet... and after 2 hours.... isnt stopping. Guess who found the source of the potpourri stench.... that cheap stuck hidden in the AC. Second, why block off all the prime parking spots for equipment and force all the customers to park “round back?”

I recently had to stay at this hotel because of a death in the family. When we arrived we noticed it was under renovation (completely acceptable). The problem was that when we got there there place was VERY DIRTY. The roll away beds were stacked in the breakfast area and they were filthy. I expressed my concerns to the front desk and the woman on duty was completely rude. She then stuck us in a room as far away from the elevator as possible. I had asked for a handicap room as I was traveling with my 80 year old mother (she ignored my request). The room smelled like urine, the curtains were falling off the wall the bathroom was water damaged. I contacted corporate and they acted very concerned, although, after speaking to them on 2 occasions they never even called me back. Looks like HI has problems on many levels and will not be getting my business in the future!!

We had to evacuate from St. Petersburg, FL due to Hurricane Irma and we came to this Holiday Inn. The hotel allowed us to check in early which was such a relief, given how long we'd been on the road with our pets. They also waived their no-pet policy and did not even charge us a pet deposit. The management, staff and especially the ladies preparing breakfast made us feel so welcome. The dining area was meticulous and the breakfast was great - lots of variety for even picky eaters. The food was replenished constantly. I was so impressed with how gracious and kind everyone was to us, especially given how much was going on.
Checked in late on a Saturday night with three other colleagues traveling for business. After entering the rooms on the 2nd floor, two of our four travelers (including myself) were immediately struck by a strong musky odor. We quickly decided to change rooms and went back to the front desk. The receptionist was helpful and apologetic and put us in rooms on the 1st floor. My friend's new room had a noticeable smell, but not as bad as his previous, so he stayed. My room smelled just as bad, if not worse than the original. Back again to the friendly receptionist who put me in a suite on the 3rd floor. The room didn't smell nearly as bad (but not good), but the 3rd floor halls wreaked of cigarette smoke even though it's supposed to be a non-smoking hotel. One other note, the carpet in the elevator was filthy. One good thing, the bed was quite comfortable.
