Je m’inscris Good place to stay in Champaign. From the lobby, common areas, and rooms were all very clean. The rooms are spacious. They did offer breakfast with our booking. We did not eat breakfast here, but I did look to see what they offered. The breakfast on the day we were there was scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits, assortment of fruits, cereal and waffles. We had 2 rooms, and there was a slight issue with one of the rooms. The one room was set at air conditioning and it was cold esp. being mid Nov. when the thermostat was changed to heat set at 72 degrees, the heat didn't shut off and by the middle of the night, the thermostat registered at 79 degrees, which made the people in that room very uncomfortable. That might need some looking into. Overall, I would definitely stay here again, because of the cleanliness of the hotel.
We stayed the night before university game day and the price double/triple, definitely price gouging the customers. We wont stay here again and neither of our friends or family. The city should step in and ensure fair or capped pricing on game days.
I am relocating to Champaign for work. I am a first grade teacher for Unit 4. While waiting to move into our apartment this hotel made that process less stressful. Having good internet service is essential to my work. I especially loved being able to have a spacious, warm and comfortable room to accommodate my family and our little Yorkie. The staff was kind, helpful and friendly. The breakfast was delicious and it was a great start to my day. I love that you can have breakfast as early as 6 am. I love that they have a washer and dryer for you to do a load of laundry. It only cost $2 to wash and $2 to dry. They have nice hangers in the room for you to prepare for success in your work week. The other guest in the hotel were nice as well. If you are looking for a hotel that is a home away from home, comfortable and safe look no further and book your reservation today. I already did!
Very comfortable bed and pillows were nice Had a great night sleep after a long drive And an ordeal at previous Best Western (plumbing issues with the room we were assigned) We left that hotel and booked at this next one on our travels. We slept thru breakfast but it was Ok cuz we checked in very late
Overall, a really great stay at this hotel! What I loved about this BW location: - Warm and friendly vibe - Very clean, everything looked new. The hardwood floors in our room were spotless - The king-size bed was super comfy! Hubby complained that he didn't think he could ever get out of it. - The breakfast area was open and bright. It's a cheery start to the morning. - Convenient location close to downtown What could be improved: - Breakfast was good, but had limited options. Besides the usual fruit, yogurt and cereal choices, they had a few hot dishes: Eggs, Sausage patties and make-your-own waffles. It would be great to add some bacon, banana muffins, cornbread or (dare I dream?) an omelette! But honestly, I'm glad we chose to stay here. We had a great night's sleep and the staff were all very wonderful.
This hotel likes to post lots of signs saying what's not allowed. If I want to be around people who focus on putting a stop to things, I'll stay home and talk to my grumpy, old neighbor. If you want to be treated like you're back in school and living in the dorms, stay here. At least when I was in school, the university used proper grammar and spelling in their posted rules.
I tried to change a reservation on the Best Western website however it didn't work. I paid for the changed date stay no problem however got billed for the original as a no-show. Management was unwilling to provide a credit for the original reservation. Given the hotel received money for the changed date stay I find it extremely unreasonable that I got charged for a no-show. Neither the local management nor corporate was willing to provide a credit. Now I have to try to dispute the charge. My recommendation is to stay away!!
Make Sure you secure a price before going there. My price went from $189 down $159 then to $102 after bickering because I am a Best Western Member.THAT Shouldn't Happen. Best Western offers a Good Breakfast, Pool, and a Decent Workout center. It's close to restaurants and shopping areas.
This is our second time staying and we were very pleased again. The hotel is modern and clean. Front desk is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious and clean. I highly recommend the BW Plus Champagne
Missing only some no suggar and no gluten in the breakfast. Overall xp is great, marveloua location!
Walked into our room and thought they made a mistake and gave us a pet friendly room because there was no carpeting, just dark colored vinyl flooring. The room looked almost bare with little furniture and little color so overall it was very unattractive. Before we unpacked, I went to the front desk and was told that all rooms are without carpeting. The bathroom was old, quite small and in places the tile was coming away from the wall. We had someone above our room who sounded like they were trying out for a sports event by running and then jumping that went on for over an hour or more after 10pm. The next morning a large group of young men wearing baseball uniforms were in the lobby so this gave us a clue about the noise above us! Would definitely remove this hotel from consideration to stay if we were ever in this city again.
I regularly visit family in the area and have settled on the Champaign Best Western as my regular hotel. Its's consistently clean and quiet , and has a very decent breakfast for the price range. A good value overall.
During my recent stay at the Best Western Plus in Champaign, I found the hotel to be clean and satisfactory for its level. The room, a suite with a jetted tub, was large but sparsely furnished and decorated, which gave it an impression of underutilized space. The suite's standout feature was its oversized bathroom equipped with a jetted tub. However, it's important to note that this is not a jacuzzi suite designed for romantic experiences, but rather a simple addition of jets to a standard bathtub. The bed was comfortable and the pricing for the room was fair, making for a decent value proposition. However, in comparison, I believe the regular rooms might offer better value. The suites, priced about double that of standard rooms, didn't provide much in terms of additional amenities or decorative elements to justify the extra cost. Unfortunately, my overall experience was overshadowed by a billing issue. Despite reaching out to the hotel management with a detailed letter explaining the situation, I have not received any response or refund. This lack of communication and resolution has significantly impacted my perception of the hotel's customer service. While the physical aspects of the hotel were generally positive, the service experience, particularly in handling billing disputes, was disappointing. This incident has unfortunately marred what would have otherwise been a positive overall stay.
Clean, efficiently maintained, family really enjoyed staying here. We even extended our stay because this hotel is so nice. Amazing staff, clean, warm pool, great room, perfect location. Will return. Recommend to all!
Highly recommend! Hotel is clean, no bugs, safe neighborhood, hot breakfast, people friendly and dog friendly, these are the things we look for when traveling. This place checked all the boxes. It felt clean everywhere except for a spill in the hall; those things happen so not an issue. It was only $25 for our dog where others wanted $50 or $75. I rarely tip at hotels but I did here because this place was cleaned so well.
This place ALLOWS DOGS. Just wanna clarify that. By the way, this is Ellie age 9 and another thing I want to clarify is how it is pretty HUGE! And the last thing I want too clarify is that I mean the ROOMS are huge. Not the hotel. My mama says that she liked how the floors were not carpet in the DOG FRIENDLY room. And they had a microwave and coffee maker, incase that interests you. I do have to say the breakfast wasn't that great. They just didn't have options. A bagel, or bread? An apple, or banana? Bacon, or funny looking eggs? Yeah, they could do better with giving the customers choices. They could also do better with the beds. It wasn't as comfy as my bed at home. It is Ok as for a one night stay, but I can't enjoy a stay any longer there.
We were traveling, on our way home when the one hotel I planned on staying at booked within five minutes of finding it. So I ended up booking while on the road with Best Western Champaign Urbana Inn. The reviews online were good for the most part, so I had confidence we would have a good nights rest the last night on the road. The hotel was nice and clean from the exterior and the interior was clean. The front desk people were nice and we were easily checked in. Once we got to our room we were happy to find a clean, nicely decorated room. Our room (odd numbers) faced the other hotel, Residence Inn and a parking lot. Where the problems came into play was once we were in bed and trying to sleep around 11 pm. It was the people coming in around midnight who were arguing, slamming doors, and on their speakerphones talking to other people. We are in a hotel, it is after the typical "quiet hours", and you are being excessively noisy. This noise continued until close to 4-4:30am. Arguments are happening IN THE HALL between people, the doors continue to slam sporadically and waking up any and probably everyone on our hall. The bed was comfortable and we had the promise of a good sleep. Ruined by other guests who don't know how to behave in a hotel. Apparently we found out later that management did visit the people staying in the room to be quiet. Would I stay here again? Definitely not. It could have easily been a five star hotel, but not based on my poor sleep. For someone else, they may not have the same issues. You stay at a hotel to get a good nights sleep, not to relive someone else's party in the hallway. Which is truly a shame, because overall the hotel is clean and quite nice. But the one night experience, for $177 which included a $2 safe charge (what the heck?) ruined it for us. I pass caution to others.
Very pleased with this location. Super nice staff and very clean facility. Only stayed one night, but very happy with everything. Room was clean, and the breakfast in the morning was great! Our room was very quite and comfortable with the perfect air conditioning. The beds were perfect and well maintained. Only negatives were the hallways were very dark, and cost of one night was expensive..but totally understandable given it was a game day booking.
On our way back to MN from NC. Stayed at this hotel. Very clean and quiet. I appreciated the fact that they had notices all over the hotel regarding their policies for noise, parties and unregistered quests. There was a indoor pool and exercise room. We didn't use either. The room was very clean and the beds comfortable. The breakfast was pretty typical of the hotel fare.
No warning that they charge an optional $2 fee for use of a safe in the room. Review your receipt before you leave, do not just let the m email you a copy. This is the type hidden fee I expect at a flea bag motel. Otherwise a very nice, clean and friendly motel.
was very load all night children screaming till 1 am and hall way was busy from 4am on got just about 0 sleep breakfast was very poor i was on a business trip staying in motels for 22 days and this was the worse one i stayed in for poor breakfast and being so noisy no one could sleep
Very clean, bed is of quality (not your usual cheap hard mattress) and staff was accommodating. Safe& quiet location. Easy to get off and on from Freeway. Lots of spacious parking. Price is very fair for what you get. Would highly recommend.
We had not stopped at this location before, and were surprised at the number of hotel options available. We chose Best Western for most of our travel this year, and this location was another good choice.
Motels that still try to slip in a scam safe fee deserves negative reviews. Be sure to take the time to make them remove said fee from your folio before checking out (unless, of course, you're one of the few customers using the safe to lock up your valuables during your overnight Best Western stay in Champaign).
Needed a break from reality, took my daughter and granddaughters away to visit my son and daughter in law and had a lovely weekend. Nice clean room, nice pool, and close to a ton of stores and restaurants
Check in was fast friendly, full booking so they put us on top floor to have a quieter night. Room was large clean, newer bed and furnishings. Microwave fridge kcup machine large tv. AC workds great. Pool was clean excercise room was good. I would stay again for sure. Ample parking
Had 3rd floor room, very quiet. Room was clean with laminate flooring. Beds were hotel beds. Tub was a little tight, not very wide. Internet was good. Great price with best western reward membership. Thumbs up
Stayed here for one night checking in about 9 PM and checking out at about 6 AM. I got destroyed by bedbugs. I have bites all over my body. Also, the reception area was very unwelcoming. Not very friendly staff, and separated by plexiglass, something I have never seen in a hotel before. Maybe wonder why.
Was pleasantly surprised when we got to our room. It was spacious and very clean. The countertop in the bathroom is large enough to accommodate our toiletries. The beds were very comfortable and had a really nice goodnight sleep. Too bad we only booked this hotel for one night but will definitely stay here again if ever we visit the area. The breakfast selections are good and decent. Overall, this hotel is highly recommended.
Best Western Plus Champaign is a very comfortable and well maintained hotel with excellent service. The breakfast was very good with varieties to choose from. The price was cheap and very reasonable for the service provided.
Manager harassed for amount of linens in hallway at 8 pm at night without identifying himself. I paid a pet deposit because I have a new and he asked if there was damage to the room and there was not. I had to ask him three times to identify himself to me. It's a pet friendly hotel, don't be pet friendly if you're not going to act like it. Also don't knock on young women's doors as a manager that is a man and not identify themselves.
The hotel is clean and very beautiful. Great customer service and housekeeping. There were many hotels close such as Marriotts, and Hiltons, but this one is my new go to; This was my first time staying in Best Western Plus in Champaign but definitely would recommend to any parent or UNIVERSTIY OF ILLINOIS student TO stay HERE.
I chose this hotel based on reviews that were much better than other pet friendly hotels. We left some items behind and they were able to send them to us. We will stay at this hotel when traveling!
Wonderful, clean, quiet hotel. I stay here every time I visit my daughter at Univ of IL. I've tried other hotels around town with disappointment and always return to this BW Plus. Great location on quiet street, lots of easy parking and close to all the restaurants & stores. I would not stay anywhere else in Champaign/Urbana.
The hotel was clean, updated and very nice rooms - the plus was it was a dog friendly hotel. Our room was at the end of a hall close to the back doors which made it easy to get in and out quickly with our pup!
Stayed 13 days in this hotel. It was recently renovated in excellent taste. New bathtubs were installed, which my wife loved very much. Rooms were decorated very nicely. Very clean and well maintained throughout. Staff was exceptionally friendly, helpful and accommodating. We would, without exception, recommend this hotel to family and friends. We will be returning in the early summer and will definitely stay here on our return.
Visited the University of Illinois and stayed at this hotel. Best thing about the hotel was the bed, so comfortable. The room was quiet and we had the best sleep. The exercise facility was very good. It was clean, with sanitary wipes available to use to clean equipment. There was also a water cooler and towels available. The equipment was in very good condition. It was a very nice place to stay!
This hotel is beautiful. Staff is very friendly. The room is super cozy. I didn't want to get out of bed. Shower is hot. I don't want to leave. I will be back when I am in the area. It's a must stay hotel!!!
...at least in the public areas, with everything visible to public having been recently renovated. No nicks, dents, tears, or smudges in our room or public areas. It felt NEW! Breakfast area was clean, food was hot and freshly made, too.
There was blood stains on the sheets and pillowcases. Instead of moving us to a different room They expected us to change the bedding, who wants to stay in a room like that. So we gathered up our stuff to go home and ran into the group we were with they had an extra room we stayed in. In the morning spoke with the manager he called us liers and banned us for life. He did take $60 off the room. Never been so insulted.
We booked our room using points as we have done many times before but upon check in the female clerk informed us that we needed a voucher. We attempted to tell her we have never needed one before and we were not told we needed one here, however she was dismissive and kept interrupting my wife during her explanation. After checking with her colleague around the corner, we were then given a key to our room.
Wow! What a beautiful property! Clean & updated! All the room amenities that are needed such as fridge & microwave were provided at no extra cost! Great breakfast and plenty of room to relax. And Front Desk staff Stephanie & Marcus were so great! Thank you!
We were so impressed with this hotel! They have spent extra details for the comfort of their patrons. From the cleanliness of the room, to doilies under glasses, to real plates and silverware for breakfast. Staff is friendly and the price is great.
The king room was large with a nice sitting area. Nice bed linens, bedroom and bathroom were clean, hot breakfast that included bacon and eggs.. Safe & clean are what I look for when traveling. Nice family hotel.
Big fat pillows that don't compress and left me with maybe 2 hours of sleep...and the sleep alarm going off in the empty neighboring room. It was one of the worst nights of sleep I've ever experienced.
Went on a long trip out west to Yellowstone National Park and this was our first stop. During the trip we stayed in national chain hotels, small family owned establishments and large luxury resorts. After all was said and done, this Best Western had the best bed and pillows during our long 3 week trip. The pillows were sort of folded over onto themselves that made them great. Plus the area was safe and rather new. Lots of hotels, eateries and a Costco in the immediate surroundings.
The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful, rooms were clean and everything I needed was accessible. I had a great 2 night stay! I'll be coming back next time I visit my family in Champaign. Thanks Best Western!
How can I give a brand new hotel of three well seems like they're hostile to customers. It's conveniently located from the interstate. It is a brand new hotel. I am a Best Western's rewards member and unfortunately the staff did not recognize it. They further demanded to copy my driver's license….the 1st time in any hotel that I've ever had anyone do that. They did not have a reasonable explanation. I felt even though they identified me and who I was. They said they were keeping a list of bad customers and where they made sure people were not on it. I asked them what they did with the copy of my driver's license because of the danger of identity theft and the best person was not sure. There was an undercurrent of hostility for customers. I know it's a franchise and I wonder if this is the 1st hotel that they've ever owned. The rooms were clean and nice and had a continental breakfast in the morning it has the usual good stuff of a best western where you make your own waffles and have sausage scrambled egg and fruit things like that I have to say I was very pleased that the attention the staff made to making sure breakfast food was hot plentiful and available the room's all heads the space I needed and in a Mini refrigerator and coffee I currently everything was working just fine and very clean. I said I was disappointed about the Customer service Unfortunately I realize they are in a college town so they don't really have to cater to customers. There are other Best Western's choices in the area and I'm sure I won't stay again.
We dont usually stay at Best Westerns because we have not had good luck at finding nice ones. This one however was really surprising! We loved it here. The people at check in were so nice and friendly. The girl went and found a cart for us to use. The room was really spacious and very clean. We had a fridge and microwave that worked great. The bed was comfy. The only thing we didn't like was the bathroom sink. It is rounded where the sink is and it was hard for me to use as I am short and it was kind of a reach just to use the sink. But that is the only thing we didn't like about this room. We only stayed one night but wish we could have stayed a couple more. The cost was a little more than what we like to pay but thats because they had a lot of college kids moving in so every place else was full. We are glad we chose this Best Western and will definately stay here again and recommend it to others.
We stayed here for an Illini football game and we have stayed at many hotels over the last couple of years in Champaign. This hotel stood out though as the manager, who I called prior, was so helpful and nice! We brought our 80-year-old parents and one of the parents was in a walker. The hotel gave us an accessible room and the staff even helped my father walk down the hall with his walker. We also brought our dog and so it was super that the hotel was pet friendly! All of us were very impressed with how clean the property was and how helpful and kind the staff was. I travel a lot for my job as a host of a PBS show and not every hotel has that personal touch that this family-run hotel has. We will definitely be back! Sincerely, Colleen Kelly, Host of the national PBS travel show, " Family Travel with Colleen Kelly" and airs to 94% USA (and mom to an Illini college student)
Great place to stay. Very friendly & professional. Has lots of amenities. Near shopping& food. Good breakfast food selection. Cleaned& resupplied rooms daily. Handicapped accessible. Plan on staying there again.
The hotel wasn't bad it was just in Champaign. There were a few things I didn't like about it. There was a large fitness center space but it lacked a lot of the equipment I've come to expect from other BW+s. The fitness area is part of the reason I like BW+. Something in the bed was beeping faintly all night. I couldn't hear it over the AC unit so it didn't bother me much but it was still concerning. What part of a bed beeps? The other guests were extremely loud and there was an odd BBQ in the far end of the parking lot not comprised of guests. It was a bit sketchy. Why were they there? They were very noisy. To be honest, I'd just keep driving.
We had another great stay at the BW! Clean rooms, great breakfast, and a friendly staff!! This BW is a terrific value and is located close enough to shopping and access to the highway..The rooms were very clean and the beds are super comfy.
The Manager was very caring. He went out of his way to get my husband almond milk and brown sugar. My hubby can't have whole milk. It made us feel very welcome and appreciated . We will definitely come again if we are in this area.
The room was clean and the air-conditioning was nice and great breakfast Selection with quality food and good selection but make sure you don't get a room close to the elevator or ice machine or you're not going to sleep,
Excellent Hotel- Pool area we used the entire weekend it was always clean. Towels were always available. location was great everything was close-gas station, mall, walmart breakfast was amazing- there was always plenty no matter what time my kids went down, it was fresh and warm.
This hotel looks nice when you first walk in but our room was less than desirable. Especially the bathroom! Tub did not drain, norte was the drain in the tub. Tub was chipped, Tub faucet was coming off the wall. Something weird and dirty in the corner of the bathroom floor as well as the furniture in the bathroom was in dire need of replacement. Double check your bill they added $2.00 (safe charge) we didn't have a safe and then they were not sure if they could take it off - finally did but it took forever. We will not return and actually cancelled our return stay on our travels and booked elsewhere. Breakfast - eggs cold - mediocre- no water available to drink.
Love this hotel... always 5 stars. Room was immaculate, staff is super helpful. Fast, friendly and efficient checking in and out. Grounds are also well kept. Location is very good as dining and shopping are not far away. They also have a nice pool if that's your thing. Pet friendly is a huge plus.
We were needing a new hotel to stay at when we come over for the tractor shows that we come to in this area. The Hampton that we had previously used had gotten way overpriced and quality had gone down. My friends and I tried this hotel and I think we found a keeper. I had to call and change my room twice b4 my stay and each time the person on the other end of the line was super helpful. Clean room and a good breakfast. Nice fitness room also. The parking lot is clean and well lit but not much room to park a trailer, just a heads up to the tractor show crowd. Will definitely stay here again next year.
The first room we were given had a swarm of ants on the bed when we walked in the room. We were then given a different room. On this room, for hours and hours we had to listen to other guests slamming doors, pounding on walls, screaming at each other, swearing at kids, and dogs barking. We asked the employee at the desk to address the noise issue after 9pm. She was quite rude and snapped at us stating, “This is only the first time you've complained.” Not sure what that was supposed to mean, but she could clearly see and hear the disturbances from the front desk as it was taking place in the center hallway on first floor. Rather than addressing the issue, she visited with the guests in their rooms, and it seemed obvious they were friends of hers. While the second room didn't have ants, it did have plenty of mold, spiders, and a strong rotten food smell. The towels were all covered with pet hair which was lovely given our allergies. All in all, we will never stay here again or recommend it. Given the employees' refusal to address the disturbances in the hallway for hours on end, we will be closing our Best Western member account and not staying at a BW hotel again. This whole experience came across as something that hasn't been a random or first time issue, and it's a shame that Best Western allows this.
This is the best pet friendly hotel ever! We travel with our senior chihuahua often but there is always an issue about the smell at pet friendly hotels, but this hotel is not. Our room and entire place were clean, the bed was so comfortable. The location is safe, great for dining and shopping. I highly recommend it to someone traveling with pets. Stephanie at the front desk was very nice and helpful.
Stephanie at front desk did an excellent job. She put me on the ground floor, near a door because I had a dog. Also she was friendly, patient and professional. Thank you, Stephanie! The room and bathroom are clean and the bathroom is well stocked.
We stayed 2 nights for our Son's wedding. The hotel was very clean and the room fit all our needs. We stayed in a “suite” with a pullout couch and it was perfect- loved the no carpet flooring! We were perfectly located for both the rehearsal dinner and venue locations. We would definitely stay here again.
This amazing hotel has the best owner and staff! They went above and beyond all expectations during our stay there. We were there for a graduation from University of Illinois school of Law and everyone was so accommodating and even kept a Hawaiian lei that was shipped there in the kitchen refrigerator and reminded me to pick it up. The rooms were large, clean and well appointed. We will definitely stay there again!
This is a lovely hotel with very clean, modern, updated rooms. It's very close to several restaurants and stores and has many snacks and drinks available for purchase on the premises. We really enjoyed our one night stay in our way to Lake County,Illinois. We would definitely stay there again and highly recommend it.
If you are staying with a group and like to sit around and talk, DO NOT stay here. They kick you out of the lobby at 10, even if you are not being loud and unruly. Hotel staff seemed to enjoy using their "power" to tell you what to do.
Moldy tile grout & caulk. Very unsightly. Hire someone to replace the moldy tile grout & caulk, & use mold preventative materials. Also, the bathroom is dark, add some lighting. Make it presentable & clean. No other hotels on this trip had mold issues so there's no excuse.
Comfortable Beds and Clean. Hetvi was so kind. I would stay here again. Thank You . Next time I would ask for a room away from elevator. It was Moms Weekend. The Moms were very loud when coming in for the night.
I called and asked if they had a pool before I booked and they said yes. However, they failed to tell me that the pool had no water in it and was unavailable. Also, I asked for a handicap room - they replied with no problem. I was not given a handicap room. It was the last room in the hotel and they do not have a ramp in the back of the hotel. There was also a huge group of students staying the night and I understood it would probably be loud. There was signs on all the doors about there zero tolerance policy for noise after 10pm. However, kids were running up and down the halls screaming and there was 2 different occasion of the front desk and the kids having a SCREAMING matching! WORST EXPERIENCE!!!
We've stayed at a couple different hotel chains over the few years. This is our first experience with a Best Western in some time. The hotel was very clean and well kept. The beds and bedding were top rate. I'd stop at the Champaign Best Western every time we are in town.
We were traveling and needed a night to just eat, rest and sleep. The front desk gave us several recommendations to go out to close to the hotel so we didn't have to drive again. The hotel looked remodel and very classy! Breakfast was excellent!!!
Went to the “jacuzzi suite” which is only a whirlpool bath, the room had an echo to it the 2nd room was literally a desk lovesest and 2 chairs all of which felt dated and uncomfortable the bed was decent it was clean, the breakfast felt like one you would get at much lower brand hotels I don't know what the plus in best western plus is but if this is the plus give me the negative for 60 dollars less
Our room was disgusting. Am breakfast was sparse as the hotel had a team from a local school there. The staff allowed the group to park 4 vehicles at entrance so nobody could load up vehicles. We had to load ours in the rain. If you are looking for a uper tiny rooms that have an odor this is your jam…otherwise STAY AT ANOTHER HOTEL NOT THIS ONE!
I stayed at the Best Western Plus Champaign/ Urbana Inn from February 28th to March 2nd. The room was well cleaned and the staffs were nice and kind enough to let me hang out in the lobby until my ride picked me up. The only issues I had were the view because there wasn't much of it and the noise. My first night there, someone was having a party and blasting loud music. The days after that consisted of other people making noises and kids running in the hallway.
I had the pleasure to stay at this location during the HS March Madness. The hotel renovation is on par with current interior trends, the location is great for shopping and dining, room was clean, linen clean, and my room had current amenities - TV, refrigerator, microwave, black out curtains, and up to date bathrooms.
After a long, treacherous drive through an ice storm, we made it here from northern Georgia on our way back to Minnesota. For Best Western, this place was no better than "OK". The room is nice size (2 queens), and has a small refrigerator and microwave. The bathroom is also a nice size. Perhaps, though, the room bathrooms are the biggest quirk of this hotel. The toilets, although Kohler, have a "Sloan" flushing mechanism, that, when activated by pushing the handle down, sound like a loud explosion (kind of like if you were to flush a cherry bomb down the pot). It was not just our room. As I walked down the hall in the morning to get coffee in the lobby, you could here "explosions" of flushing toilets as you walked down the hall. Now that is a "waker-upper" for your spouse when you flush the toilet in the middle of the night! Extremely annoying. Aside from the explosive toilets, and a slow-running shower drain, it was a decent room. The complementary breakfast was a bit above average. This is an OK motel, but beware of the loud-flushing toilets! :-)
The suite configuration is very nice. Bathroom is nicely designed and has good working plumbing. Comfortable bedding and mattresses. Convenient kitchen nook with fridge and microwave. Reasonably quiet on top floor. Breakfast was below our standard of good. Pool was closed and we weren't aware until arrival. Cleaning taking place at elevator entrance…lots of cords and equipment to walk around when we arrived at 5 PM and departed at 8:30 AM. Convenient to interstate. Restaurants nearby, but not really walking distance. Had food delivered to our room which worked nicely for us.
We spent two nights at this hotel recently with a very positive overall experience. Jay checked us in and he had a wonderful sense of humor that just set the tone for a good experience. Rooms were clean and well appointed. Our only criticism is that is snowed overnight and while the parking lot was cleaned and plowed, the sidewalks were not.
I was stranded in champagne following an accident with this storm last week. For 4 days I stayed at this Best Western Plus in Champaign. The proprietor and his staff are exceptional. For one thing, they did get me in even though I had a dog. I know those rooms are limited. Secondly, I had no food and it was hard to get out of the motel, but there was a breakfast there and I managed to sustain until my husband was able to fly in and get me and get our truck to a collision place. I felt the place was reasonably priced. Our room was clean. The housekeeping staff were always smiling and pleasant and willing to oblige. My bed was comfortable. I felt safe and cared for. The proprietor even went so far as to standby as I was coming through some Icy area that first night and he was out there salting. I'm a senior and he made sure I got across safely. I cannot say enough nice about these folks. It would have been super if the swimming pool was up, but at least it was down for a good reason. They appeared to be cleaning it. Hats off to these folks they're really kind and warm people.
Our first stay and we were very satisfied. Mr. Jay from the front desk welcomed us & was very nice & helpful he was even cracking jokes. The hotel is nice and very clean. Walked into our room, it was very cleaned, well maintained and smelled so good. If we ever come this was, we are def coming back here!!
This was our first visit to Champaign, IL from the west coast to help our son move on the UIUC campus. Overall, the stay at this hotel was a very pleasant experience. The rooms were clean and well maintained, and the hotel staff was wonderful. Jay (Hotel Manager) was especially fantastic and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. He really took care of us. We definitely plan to stay at this hotel for our future trips to Champaign.
We did not find anything even remotely to say bad about this location. The staff was friendly and helpful, hotel was AMAZINGLY CLEAN, the beds were soooo comfortable, breakfast selections were great, elevators were near entrance, and the handicap rooms were close to elevators. We had had a bad stay earlier in our trip at another location, but the Champaign/Urbana location made up for it in aces. Will definitely stop there during future trips.
I love staying here. It's so nice, safe and clean. Props to the people who run and work here. The morning breakfasts also hit the spot, not too mention delicious, healthy and clean. The manager, Jay, goes out of his way to make guests happy and doesn't allow any partying or questionable guests who want to cause trouble.
Was really happy with our stay. We came down to see Illini basketball game on Friday night and needed a place close by that allowed dogs. Area had lots of choices but this location was great and a good value. Will stay again with kids and dog.
We stayed here on our return from the national championships in cross country. We found a bright, clean interior with spacious, updated rooms and an eye-pleasing color scheme. The pillow-top mattresses were very comfortable. This room actually had a good reading lamp. Jay at the front desk went out of his way to make us feel welcome and successfully dealt with a couple of lodgers who were in violation of the inn's no smoking policy. The breakfast was solid, with eggs, waffles, biscuits and gravy, and the usual assortment of breads, fresh fruits, and juices. I was very pleased with a weekend rate less than $100 before taxes.
After spending a horrible night at the Baymont suites, my niece and I chose to relocate to the Best Western Plus. Wow! What an amazing difference. The hotel was fresh, clean and welcoming with comfortable beds. Towels were also clean and fresh. Not dingy like some hotels. The hotel manager Jay allowed us to see a room before choosing to stay in his establishment. Jay was very nice we really enjoyed his pleasant personality. Since we were relocating from a nearby hotel he allowed us to check in early. We felt very comfortable and will definitely stay here again.
My family booked a room at Best Western Plus and it was a great stay!!!! The facility was super clean, bright with a welcoming atmosphere. Jay "the manager" was amazing and a joy to interact with. The newly updated hotel/rooms has tile flooring throughout, the beds were comfortable and the decor was just the perfect touch. I highly recommend the Best Western Plus.
Traveling back home after Crusing the Coast car show. Convenient location in Illinois. We stayed here last year too. Convenient to lots of restaurants and shopping if needed. Used the swimming pool, a little cool at first , but ok after swam around a little. Glad to have a warm breakfast available with tables and chairs available for dining. Very friendly service at check-in and out..
We were traveling with a small dog across country. Other hotel stays on our multi-day trip were horrible. But our Best Western, Champaign experience was wonderful! Staff was pleasant & professional. Owner Jay gave us personal attention to assure that we had a positive experience. The hotel was extremely clean, and our room was immaculate, and actually smelled great. Everything was spotless, and we really liked the hard-surface floors instead of carpet. The floors actually felt clean! Our bed was truly comfortable, and my husband & I both had the best night's sleep of our entire trip. Breakfast was enjoyable, and a surprising upgrade over the typical Continental breakfast offering. I know we absolutely will stay here again the next time we drive through the area.
This is a fantastic property. Starting with an exceptional front desk staff to Jay, the owner…who made sure my stay was going well and greeted me each time I returned to the hotel, it was a really great facility. I stayed for 4 nights for business. The business center was kept up well, the room seemed as if was just remodeled, and the breakfast provided was better than expected. With regards to the room, it was clean and very comfortable and everything in the room seemed fairly new. I would definitely recommend staying here if you are ever in Champaign. I most certainly will!!
We were very pleased with the cleanliness, decor, and quiet atmosphere. My kids were in the room next to me and I didn't hear them showering or using the facilities. That's unusual in my experience. Breakfast had a good variety of nutritional foods.
We were on our way home from a trip to Asheville NC, and enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The location was great, the hotel felt new, and it was very clean. The rooms were nice with a refrigerator, microwave, comfortable beds, and a good breakfast. I would stay here again.
Our trip started well because of Stephanie at the front desk handled tricky situations with other guests so calmly. Unfortunately, many guests chose not to wear masks. She did not let this get to her and answered our questions in a way that made us feel safer. She acccomodated all our requests and made our stay more fun. Kids enjoyed the pool. The hotel was pretty clean. Tables in the lobby area could have been kept more tidy. We did some wiping down. The room was clean and we like not having carpet. We appreciated that noise rules were in place.
Wonderful property, great staff. Very clean. Good location. Stayed 5 nights. Would recommend for pleasure or business. Excellent breakfast. My only complaint, hard to read room numbers. How about some outside seating. Maybe picnic tables in the back of the property?
Very personal staff from check-in to check-out . Jay is 100% committed to taking care of your hotel needs. He will take care good care of you! Rooms are very clean and comfortable. The breakfast is the best I have had at a Best Western. Nancy and her staff of housekeepers work hard at keeping the hotel clean and well stocked with everything you need. My hotel stay was exceptional.. the staff here really aim to please their guests and it shows!
The room was clean. Bed was comfortable. Blackout curtains sufficient. Bathroom was clean but water pressure not good in shower. Breakfast options sufficient but orange juice tasted like orange drink instead of juice. Bathroom design missed the mark. There was plenty of room to make the bathroom a few inches or even a foot bigger. No reason to leave it so you had to step to the side of the toilet along the sink when opening or closing door. Also toilet paper too far back to reach comfortably.
We stopped for a night while on our way to Kansas City. The rooms were clean. The front desk was friendly and helpful. I just didn't like the $2 charge for hotel safe that we didn't use or even notice. I will stay here again if in the area. Nice clean place to stay.
I arrived at the hotel at 4:00am in the morning after the airline trip from hell on American Airlines. My flight was scheduled to arrive at 9:30pm the previous evening. But my flight was delayed so I missed my connection which was the last flight of the evening and I had to arrive in Champaign that night. So I rented a car and drove 21/2 hours from Ohare Airport in Chicago to Champaign, Illinois. I had called ahead and alerted the hotel of my late arrival. When I arrived, the most pleasant, friendly, smiling and welcoming gentleman was at the reservation desk. Seeing his smile just made the agony of my trip evaporate. I asked him how are you so chipper at 4:00am? He checked me in and I was in my room in 5 minutes. The room was wonderful, clean and spacious. I always check the bathroom first. Immaculate. I have nothing but good things to say about the room. Breakfast was included the usual: hot and cold cereal, cheese omelet with sausage, breads, pastry, fruit, yogurt, variety of juices, tea and coffee. The breakfast area was constantly being cleaned and food replenished. I did not expect my room to be serviced but it was and coffee replenished as many hotels are only servicing rooms based on a minimum stay. My stay was great and I would definitely stay here again. The entire staff were helpful and fabulous.
I stayed here for 5 days during a trade show the last week of August 2021. Everything was as expected for the price. Each interaction I had with the owner, his wife and the staff was excellent. My room was clean, efficient and spacious. The buffet was bountiful and the hours perfect for my schedule. Would definitely stay here again.
The hotel has an overly perfume-y smell like they are trying to cover up something. When we got our room, I noticed the comforter was stained. I pulled back the sheets and the mattress pad was damp with a large amount of urine. We asked for a new room. The new one still had stained linens but appeared to have been laundered recently. The pillows smelled “greasy” and were like the cheapest ones you could buy at Walmart. Everything was cheap! Bathroom was tiny, urine stains around base of toilet. Crickets or some type of large bug in the room.
This is the third time we've stayed here at Best Western Plus in Champaign IL. Clean rooms, hot breakfast, and excellent service will definitely bring us back again. The Half Century of Progress Farm Show brought us here. Many others attending that show also stayed here. Everyone we talked to were just as happy with their stay as we were. Some staying at another hotel tried to get rooms here because their hotel did not have breakfast of any kind much less the great hot breakfast that we had.
we spent a restful night. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was as expected. it was very busy and the front desk seemed distracted and not very friendly. Our room was not ready so we went out and picked up dinner as we had a pet with us and came back to our room to eat.
Spacious rooms, clean , helpful staff with a big smile ( JAY ) , good location, will do it again and come back One of the best in urbana , champagne, Fair price to the good service and good breakfast !
Receptionist discriminated against my service animal, assigned me a pet friendly room which I found to be insulting; black mold was found in bathrooms; interior and exterior doors do NOT secure, anybody can enter the building freely!
Room had lots of electric plugs for charging all our items. Very nice frig/coffee area in room. Tile floors great! I hate carpet in hotels -- it's always so dirty. This room was very clean. We got confused about breakfast times. We arrived downstairs just after time had finished. However, lady took care of us anyway --- personally fixed us items we wanted -- all while trying to clean up also. This was "above & beyond" in my opinion. We would have understood had she just said, "sorry we are finished with breakfast." Will definitely return to this property on next visit to Champaign.
Stayed 2 nights while moving daughter back to college. Hotel was very clean and the updates (not sure when done) were done well. Bed was comfy and I have a hard time in hotel beds usually since they tend to be too soft for me. Front desk staff was very nice and check in was fast and smooth. Included breakfast buffet is a very nice touch. I only had coffee but everyone else seemed to enjoy their meals. Only two complaints (which really amount to no big deal) are that my TV did no go below volume level 10 and I thought it was quite loud on that lowest setting. Neighbors may have too. My room phone didn't work so I had to go to the desk to get the wifi password (which was on the room key holder but I failed to notice that. So my bad). I tend to frequent other hotels in the area and stayed here due to the rates in effect when I booked. I'm glad I ended up here. Will stay again!
Great location and easy to find. Room are updated and very clean. Seamed like a super busy hotel while we were there but not a bad thing. Still very peaceful at night / couldn't hear other guests. Breakfast was a good mix of choices. If I had one gripe it would be very minor. When traveling we like to connect our hardware to the TVs provided. Works well for game systems or a tablet/laptop for streaming. The TV was very locked down. No use of the hdmi, sleep timer or any other tv settings. It also was what we consider loud for late night only allowing you to lower the volume to 10 at the lowest.
Very clean room beds was comfortable an hotel assistance was very nice coffee wasn't my favorite rooms was nice an cool asked for toothpaste an they gave me more then I even needed greatly appreciated
Great place very happy with everything. Our room and bathroom were very clean. Good beds- helped us get a good night's sleep. The pool was very clean. The breakfast was just what we needed to get our day started.
I choose this hotel to wait for my new apartment to open. They have very friendly and good service. The rooms are big and comfortable. They also got hot breakfast serving every day. I would definitely recommend this hotel to students or travelers whos need a short stay at champaign.
I had just come in from a grueling 900-mile trip from Virginia (after hearing of my father's emergency surgery there at Carle) and I was utterly exhausted. I was lucky enough to get a room there at Best Western Plus, and I was not disappointed. Not only is it the nicest hotel I have ever had the pleasure of staying at, but the staff, especially Jay, was phenomenal. He knew that I was absolutely beat and needed sleep, and went the extra mile in making sure that I was able to rest. I love that this hotel has a rule posted that guests please not be noisy between certain hours, out of respect for all who are there; the staff do and will enforce this, which is wonderful. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a clean, nice, respectful and friendly place to stay the night. A mere five stars doesn't do it justice.
Fire alarm went off about 9am, seemed to be a false alarm. Then it went off a 2nd time about half an hour later. No one bothered to tell customers that it was a false alarm, or if it was ok to re-enter the building. However, no employees seemed alarmed by it & they stayed at their stations going about their work, so I'm guessing its a frequent occurrence. The anti-slip coating on the pool was coming off too. It felt like loose sand under your feet & there was an extra strong smell mixed in with the chlorine that I couldn't place. I got a king suite and the lining of the tub had holes and chunks missing. It just wasn't worth $160+ a night
I chose this hotel because of it's great rating and was not disappointed. I was placed on the first floor which I normally hate because you can hear people above you. I was very happy with how quiet it was. I didn't hear really anyone in the halls. The room was remodeled and has really tall ceilings, probably 18 feet high. I was impressed that the two days we stayed they had different hot foods on the breakfast buffet. I was also impressed that housekeeping came even though we were only there for two nights. The hotel that I was in the week before for 5 nights never had housekeeping at all. So glad I decided to drive the extra 15 minutes to stay away from the few choices in Rantoul. One suggestion would be to have an additional coffee carafe away from the buffet so you don't have to wait in line if you just want coffee. If I return, I will definitely stay here again. This hotel was also cheaper than the surrounding ones. I think I got it for $108 a night on expedia.
Our short overnight trip at best western plus in champaign was awesome and the room was very clean! A big shout out to Jessica for being so nice and treating us with respect and to all the staff! The staff was super nice and friendly! If we ever come that way again will definitely stay there!
The bathroom hadn't been cleaned before our stay and there was hair everywhere - on the floor and all over the shower walls. Would recommend checking the room thoroughly before completing your check in!
We stayed for one night. The hotel had been recently remodeled (and rebranded to Best Western Plus). The room was clean and quiet, breakfast was good, the staff were friendly and helpful. We would be glad to stay there again.
I was welcomed with a sunny smile and extreme courtesy, which was great after a 650 mile drive. The room was immaculate and as someone who has had 4 back surgeries I must say the bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept in. The hot breakfast was varied and scrumptious. The lobby was also immaculate. We had to continue on elsewhere after only one night and now we are staying elsewhere for 6 nights. How I wish we could have stayed at the BW Champaign for 6 nights instead!!
The Management really do go that "proverbial-mile" to please their guest. Jay, Nancy, Markus as well as the staff are very nice as they make sure that your every need is met! From the very first night that I checked-in has been a pure delight. I will be staying here at least 45 days until the closing on a new house. The room is clean & comfortable. I am on my computer daily to do business and the internet connection is fast. The Hotel is quiet and friendly. The (free) breakfast is always hot and plentiful. They have great coffee too. I never give anything a (5) five-star rating! But, for the first time, I give this Hotel a (5) five-star-plus! Thank you Mr Jay, you are an asset to Best Western. (ps) the hotel is close to everything)
This was one of the best hotel experiences I have had. My daughter and I stayed for two nights and had an awesome time. Very clean hotel and amazing beds. My daughter and I would say its time to sleep in the clouds when it was time for bed because that's exactly what it felt like. All of the workers were so nice and accommodating. Jay, the owner, was there working everytime we came downstairs. Super nice guy and very hard working. The hotels shows it too. I will definitely be coming back and recommend this hotel to others.
The staff is friendly, the room was very clean, beds were super comfortable, and the full breakfast was delicious!! Very quiet, but close to restaurants and shopping. Will definitely stay here again!!
Great hotel!! Jay made sure we got the best price and that we enjoyed our stay. Clean, comfortable & updated. Highly recommend to anyone!! Beds are super comfortable and the room was super clean. Looks brand new. Has pool and breakfast. Close to restaurants & shopping too.
Wonderful hotel. Super clean and quiet. It's a newer hotel. Comfy beds. Great location, off interstate and near mall and restaurants. Easy drive to downtown Best rate was on hotel's website. When we visited the pool closed at 8 pm. I'd highly recommend.
We have employees staying at this hotel for a construction project nearby. They LOVE it. Rooms are clean, staff is great. The guys raved about breakfast! Glad we found this place, and Jay the owner is great to work with. We look forward to continued stay at this location. It's great that they allow pets too.
We were in town to visit with a friend. We'd had our fill of "economical" motels, and needed a really pleasant visit - and the BW Plus filled that bill! From the check-in, the assurance that the staff were 100% vaccinated, the cleanliness of the facility common areas and rooms, the condition of the pool, and the AMAZING beds and spacious rooms, it was a 100% hit. The hot breakfast was great, and the staff were more than willing to accommodate our requests. I'd come back in a flash, and I'd definitely recommend to anyone coming to the C-U area.
No carpet in pet rooms. Completely sane! Hopefully, traveling folks don't bring pups not housebroken but this is not always the case. Dietary indiscretions during travel affect all sectors. I had no issue with this room at all save two: 1. The bathroom door is excessively large for the size of the bathroom and creates awkwardness in bathroom use. An architectural correction would be awesome. 2. Also, a bit of color. The floor is dark both in the room and in hallways-Something light, bright and perky would be very appreciated elsewhere in the room so as not to appear oppressive. The breakfast here is vastly superior to the normal fare that is offered at this level of accommodations.
I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Updated and clean inside. All of the staff were very nice and accommodating. I left behind a few items in the closet, and Jay at the front desk was kind of enough to send them to me. We were staying at the hotel for a baseball tournament and would definitely stay again!
Tiled rooms, friendly staff, good breakfast (even during covid times).the room was comfortable, the breakfast had a great selection, all the staff were pleasant. ‘Poop' bags available, and close to plenty of fast food and casual dining options.
Very clean. All employees that I have dealt with have been very helpful, and polite. The rooms have always been very clean, and if you ask for something, they bring it very quickly. I wish all of the BWP that I have stayed in were as good as this one.
Beautiful hotel, aesthetically appealing lobby, dining area, and rooms. I expected an average hotel experience, and this was outstanding. Managers were professional and customer-oriented, a rarity these days!
We stopped here after a long. 12+ hour day of driving. Though a bit pricey, it was well worth it. The hotel was very clean and well taken care of. It was also convenient to the Interstate so we could easily get back on the road in the morning. there were quiet a few restaurants nearby as well, another plus. The hot breakfast was OK, good bacon, but dry eggs. But it was OK. All in all, a very nice place.
Lovely hotel. Safe area, easy off the highway. We truly didn't expect to have that quality of hotel for such a reasonable price. Everything is updated to new Best Western standards, and it is great. Clean, well laid out rooms, with a modern boutique feel. Location is super with lots of restaurants near by. Hotel is dog friendly, which is necessary for us, as we travel with our girl. Also nice was to have laminate flooring in our dog friendly room. Hotel was spotless. Really appreciated their COVID safe standards. Front desk staff on check in was very friendly, and I met the owner while checking out,. He clearly takes great pride in his beautiful property, and rightfully so. Big investment, and he ensures that it is run well so all his guests are comfortable. Will be back on our return trip south. Truly a great stopover hotel for us snowbirds. Bonus to have a washer and dryer near our room, as a leaking cooler got my clothes wet...
Good location, welcoming staff, clean room, and good shower. The only drawback was the location of the bathroom at the other end of the room away from the beds. That makes it some what of a pain in a very dark room at night, especially for older travelers. The hotel provides a hot breakfast for guests.
This was our first stay at the Best Western Plus in Champaign, as a stopping spot on our return trip from The Villages, FL to our home in Wisconsin. The hotel itself was immaculate, and appeared newly constructed / renovated. First BW+ that we stayed in that had a hard surface floor... this is a great idea that was a long time coming. A great way to minimize one place that is difficult to keep clean... great job Best Western. The area around that hotel is very bustling... LOTS of restaurants in the area. Even the breakfast was very good, in this time of covid! There was a 'server' for easy over eggs and sausages (I built a sandwich with a bagel!).
We always inspect the bed first thing when getting to our room. The mattress pad was stained. Upon looking further, the sheets were stained. I called the front desk and told the person who answered, what we found and asked for another room. He came to the room with keys to another room. He wanted me to show him the stain, like he didn't believe me. No apology. He said he would talk to housekeeping. The other room was fine. This hotel is dated and not real clean. The tub in the bathroom has a curved bottom and is slippery. I almost fell but caught myself with the grab bar. My husband also had problems with it. The breakfast was adequate.
This is the best moderately priced pet friendly hotel that we have ever stayed at! The room was clean and the flooring was a type of laminate flooring instead of carpet. What a great idea! Easy for the staff to clean, no pet hair, no smell. Even though I have a pet, we have stayed at other pet friendly hotels where the carpet smelled so bad we could hardly stand it. There was an outside pet area with waste bags and waste can was provided. A decent continental breakfast as well. Friendly staff. Great job!
Jay who is from India learned that I like Chai Tea so the next morning he brought up his homemade tea which was excellent. Hotel was clean and comfy and a good value as well. Also was close to restaurants and shopping.
This hotel was beautiful and clean!! Easy to find and centrally located to EVERYTHING! Staff was friendly and a FULL breakfast was offered unlike the one we stayed in in Hubbard, OH. Highly recommended!
Very accommodating. I am on a knee scooter and they switched our room with no problem for easier access to front of property for me. Very clean and rooms were nice. Clean bathroom and very comfortable bed. Large flatscreen tv with tons of channel options. In room fridge and coffee/tea bar. Enjoyed the staff as well. Front desk staff were great and very friendly. Everyone wearing masks. Felt safe there.
Nicely remodeled, clean, spacious and friendly. Great rooms for families with very comfortable beds, and great quality tv. Citrus scent toiletries. Would buy! Amazing staff. Clean and spacious entrance, breakfast area with very good selection. Would definitely stay here, again.
Excellent customer service. Very professional, polite and friendly front desk staff. Professional appearance too. Spacious and very clean rooms. Encountered minor mix ups at check-in, but the staff accepted full responsibility and handled the situation promptly and to our satisfaction.
Deserves all 5 stars!! Newly remodeled. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Rooms didn't have carpet! Thank goodness! Nice and clean. Extremely reasonable! Would definitely stay again! Was also located in midst of shopping and lots of restaurants!
We enjoyed our visit at the Best Western in Champaign. We stopped while traveling, but made sure to book for while we were on our way home too. The staff was very friendly, and it was so nice to have a hot breakfast!
Hotel was very clean, quiet, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The indoor pool was open during our stay and was very nice also. If you are looking for a clean, quiet hotel to stay at and relax while you are in Champaign, then I recommend this one.
Overall was a nice place to stay. Clean, with refrigerator and microwave. Lot's of snacks downstairs. Very comfortable bed. No carpeting which is, I think a good change. All in all a pretty good stay.
I enjoyed my stay here very, very clean, modern looking, customer service was excellent this will be where i stay when I'm in the Area. I was super impressed with how friendly the staff was. The price was nice as well.
We stopped for an overnight stay on our way back from a family trip. We needed three rooms to accommodate our large family, and we were able to get rooms close together even with our needs for different beds. Rooms are newly remodeled, were very clean, and beds very comfortable-all for a very reasonable price!
Our room was clean and quiet. We were nearby to many shopping and dining options. Parking was safe and well-lighted. The hot breakfast was very good with many items to choose from. The pool was refreshing.
Apparently this location is a popular place for locals. Very noisy and not exactly family friendly. Complaint to the front desk seemed to resolve the noise issue in the room above ours. Room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Front desk wasn't sure how to apply BW gift card payment at check in. Manager had to resolve. Parking is limited if pulling a trailer/RV.
Very accommodating, my 4th stay here, clean comfy rooms, and the complimentary bfst is a refreshing touch these days. Jay at the gront desk is a great help, and i highly recommend staying here if you are in the area.
Ayden was very helpful at the front desk, she did a amazing job at checking me in and was really friendly and fast ! I will be back, Breakfast was amazing also and the bed was also comfy and no problems or noise like most hotels!
Wonderful stay! Jay who assisted us at the front desk was most pleasant and helpful. Beds were super comfortable and the rooms are up to date with all the latest amenities. Didn't use the pool but it look like it was well maintained. Stayed on a Saturday night and restaurants in the area had very long wait times 45 min. our longer. Highly recommend this hotel though. This is a 10 rating for for me.
The rooms are recently remodeled and stylishly decorated, including tasteful laminate flooring and comfy mattresses. Windows open slightly to get fresh air. The linens seemed very clean. The price has always been reasonable, and the hotel is pet friendly. Guest compliance with mask rules is lackluster, and some cleaning/maintenance staff refused to wear masks, but front desk staff always wore masks. We frequent this hotel on our trips from MN to TN, and it has yet to disappoint.
This was one of the best, Best Westerns i've been to!! The lobby was amazing and clean the rooms were breathtaking and the bed was so comfy. Even came with a bluetooth speaker. If we had stayed more than one night I definitely would've taken advantage of the extra amenities!! I can't wait to go back.
We are glad we found this hotel ♥️ It is awesome and it has all the Covid-19 requirements. Excellent staff. The bedroom is extremely clean and comfortable and it has a good location, near a lot of food places.
I had a great evening at this Best Western. It is obvious the owners and staff earnestly care about their business and their customers and are actively reinvesting in upgrading the property and keeping it safe and clean. The room was spacious and the bed was really comfortable. I would absolutely stay here again!
We stayed 2 nights when we went to drop our son at UIUC. The hotel is well maintained and seems to be recently renovated. It is also clean and they are following all the guidelines for COVID safety. I would reccomend this hotel.
Beautifully redecorated, clean, friendly, comfortable, a much deserved 5 star review. Only issue was pulling in the correct driveway. Hotels are on each side, we missed the correct drive twice in the dark but had a good laugh over it.
We've been staying at this property for 6+ years having U of I peeps in our world. Now that this is the BWP and all renovated - even better and love the updates! Felt welcome and enjoyed a one-night stay on Christmas. Really enjoyed the modern finish and the laminate/hardwood flooring in our first floor room. Makes great sense! Bed was comfy and we will be back. Was just nice to feel safe and comfortable in these tricky times.
My stay was brief but all the rooms and accommodations were clean. The only issue I had was the wifi. There were no passwords provided with the door keys like you would find at other hotels. I expected to see the password and instructions somewhere in the room but none could be found. Calling down to the front desk resolved this issue. Would be nice to find a laminated card on the desk seeing as most people will want to connect to it. The other thing was, throughout my time on their wifi it would continuously drop connection. After about 3 times of this happening I gave up. Given that this was a brief overnight stay, it wasn't too big of a deal. However, if I would not recommend if you need a consistent wifi connection.
The hotel was very recently updated and everything was New and clean. We found out the pool was open as well. The bed was also so comfortable we didn't want to get up in the morning. We will definitely stay again!
Recently refurbished with all wood floors the rooms are spacious and adaptable for multiple needs. Negotiate a long term rate for extra benefit for contractors and construction workers who are on per diem. Talk to Rose for the best assistance. Microwave, frig, work out area, in-door pool all great for the business or construction traveler.
I would highly recommend Best Western Plus. I would give them 10 stars if I could. The front desk staff was very Courteous with our middle of the night check in. The room was very clean and spacious. For a person who is constantly waking up in the middle of the night, their pillows and mattresses were so comfortable I was out like a rock and didn't wake up until almost checkout. I even called them when I got home to ask about their bedding. They took the time out for me to go to a room and take a picture of information on the bedding and the pillows and email to me. If I ever make my way back down through that area, I defiantly will go out of my way just to stay there. I've stayed in many hotels throughout my life in many different states throughout the country this place is #1 to me with the staff and my experience. I would highly recommend this place to anyone you won't regret it.
I travel once a year from TN to WI to visit family. This trip was also for business this time. I typically stay in the Champaign area. We spoke with Marcus and he was very pleasant during the booking process and answering questions. When we arrived they had us in the wrong room as we wanted two queen beds instead of one queen bed. They were super nice and moved us immediately to a different room. It was quiet and the facilities were very nice. We would stay there again.
My husband and I and our cat stayed here one night recently. We were able to check in late (about 9:30 pm), and we paid $25 additional for our cat. It was a very windy, cold night (around 20 degrees) and we carried our belongings from a side entrance near the pool. It was a modest walk, no problem for either of us except for the number of trips we needed to make. This is a very quiet hotel in a quiet area, located with other hotels. The lobby and hallways were very clean. Masks were required to enter. Our room was very nice but very cold and sterile. It was cold psychologically and physically. When I walked over to the window that had a view on a side lot, I discovered the window was open! I closed and latched it. But still, there was a LOT of cold air leakage on that side of the room. And our room door slammed no matter how careful we were. I felt bad for anyone trying to get an early night's sleep. The room had attractive furnishings, much like a starter apartment where 20 somethings had gone out to IKEA and Bed Bath and decorated it all in shades of gray. There was gray vinyl plank flooring and no carpet as it was a pet friendly room. There was a huge flaw in the flooring in the center of the room that you needed to avoid. I don't think it was sharp, just a bump, an installation error that can't be fixed. The bathroom was very crowded but the main room with chair and foot stool was more spacious. Bedding and pillows were fairly good with two small pillows for each person on the King bed. One pillow was more stuffed, the other less. They were fairly small and you had to sleep at an angle for neck support. Our cat did NOT like the room. He sniffed the floor and furniture a lot and was very agitated all night. I can only guess that he smelled dogs? I don't know, but he was happy and slept well in another hotel the next night. The lighting in the room was inadequate and very harsh. My husband said he felt he "was staying in a laboratory." Our room had a charging cube that was helpful for our iPhones. And, there was a charging station for electric cars on the first two parking places at the pool side entrance. Overall, we are grateful that this hotel accepted our cat. And, I was grateful that there was NO sign of pests inside or outside this hotel, as the Marriott Residence Inn next door had a rat trap (not mouse) next to one of their back doors.
Fast friendly service no BS the whole property was super clean pool was very clean the owner spares no expense for comfort and reliability this is the place to stay in Champaign. Took literally minutes to check in and no effort to check out.
Very polite and helpful staff. Rooms clean. Complimentary bag breakfast very appreciated for a fast transition back to the road. Beds and pillows super comfortable!! Pet friendly. Nice to see vinyl plank floors.
Super great staff and very clean all around, lobby, rooms, pool, would stay here again for sure. Very reasonable pet fee, nice beds, perfect for a quick trip to University of Illinois for a visit. Rose at the front desk was super helpful.
Very close to shopping area's. I went to visit family that where camping and it was a great location of the hotel I have reached each one in the area and this was the best price and best reviews. Very clean
After an unsavory experience at a different hotel (in a different city) the night before, my 5 year old son and I were over the moon with the BWP in Champaign! Beautifully maintained property, inviting and spacious lobby, swift, friendly and contact-less check in and check-out. All common areas were clean and well- lit. The room was spacious and very clean. We appreciated the large tv and satellite channel options. The location is on a side street, easy access to the interstate without the noise. Perfect! The bed and pillows were very comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed a relaxing and safe experience overall.
I have been staying at this property every week for 3/4 nights for the past few months (my work takes me to Champaign every week) and have found it to be a great value. The hotel was recently renovated, the lobby, facilities and rooms are all neat and clean. The staff is excellent from the front desk to the owner. Great place to stay if you are in the Champaign area, close to a lot of amenities, shopping and highways.
During these unprecedented times of COVID 19 It was a fantastic stay here for me and my family!!!! Excellent service, extremely kind staff, pool was excellent for my family and the room was clean, comfortable, and very beautiful!! Definitely recommend people to stay here!!! I also want to take a minute and say thank you to Jay for helping with anything we needed and getting me set up with rewards!! Such a fantastic gentleman!!
The staff was so friendly and polite. We were on the road for over a week and this was by far the best experience we had in a hotel. The bed was fantastic and the pillows perfect. Slept all night without waking up for the first time in days. The noise level was very low. When we left we received a bag with an apple ,a water a muffin and a granola bar to make up for no continental breakfast. The room was quite large and there were USB ports aplenty. Definitely the place to stay.
Just stayed at this Best Western and was very pleased. We relied on previous TripAdvisor reviews. They did not disappoint. Stephanie was very helpful when we checked in. We had a little kuffel with keys, but it was easily resolved. Appreciated how courteous other guests were with mask wearing and waiting for the next elevator. The ‘grab & go' breakfast was more than adequate. The place was very clean. It was an easy in and out. Sorry we didn't have time to use the pool. Glad to see it was open with posted safety recommendations.
This Best Western Plus has very courteous staff. Rose was friendly and professional when I checked in and Markus up front is a pleasure to talk to. The owner Jay is very attentive to his guests. The hotel itself is clean and everything looks brand new. Laundry room is clean, parking lot is big and can hold any type of vehicles. The snack section is dangerously well stocked. Well worth the price. 10/10 would stay again.
Great clean hotel. In town for work have stayed at this hotel for the last 11 weeks. Would be a place I would bring my family to. Many restaurants close by and alot of stores within blocks from the hotel. Indoor pool and workout center.Jay the manager takes pride in his hotel.
We were very impressed with everything the staff could control. They were helpful, kind, and happy to have us. The cleanliness was great. I recommend this hotel to everyone. There were other guests partaking in activities that caused an unpleasant smell, and the staff spent a lot of time cleaning the carpets to make it better.
We were "blown away" By Our Rm (#238) !! Spacious w/ a Jacuzzi/whirlpool Annnd Very CLEAN w/ an Equally COMFORTABLE Bed !!! Our check-in Was flawless = QUICK including The reuested upgrade ! Jay The Mgr. Was Great in these RE:
I am usually hesitant about leaving reviews unless the service was either so terrible that I need to warn people to stay away from the business or the service was so close to perfection that there is something that needs to be said about the way they conduct their business. Jay and his staff have truly perfected how to run a business properly. I have been traveling the country, staying in numerous hotels for about 7 years now and this might have to be the best hotel I have stayed at, during my travels. Some key factors as to why I am giving this hotel such a high review. It is so conveniently located to shops and restaurants of any kind. I have been staying at this hotel close to a month (for work) and I have needed to shop for clothes, get a haircut, groceries, electronics and all of those shops are within 5 minutes of the hotel. Due to Covid -19, I've noticed many hotels (in different states) cutting back their staff, due to fewer visits from guests. This unfortunately puts a strain on the front of house staff because now they were in charge of housekeeping which was a result of very poorly maintained rooms. Jay and his staff have this hotel so well managed that not only are the rooms cleaned from top to bottom each day from his professional house keeping staff, but the lobby, work out area, elevators are constantly being kept up with, through out the day and even evening. I believe it was Markus who noticed that I had been checking in and out of the hotel and informed me that due to my schedule, they would do their best to make sure that I am staying at the hotel for the best possible rate they could offer. All I was doing was renewing a room key, so he did not have to go out of his way to do that. Rose has been such a great help during my stay as well. If you notice through out this review, I am using a first name basis because they all go above and beyond to let you know that they are there to help and make sure that your stay is the best that it can be. Jay and his staff have made my stay in Champaign/Urbana a memorable one.
This hotel is managed very well. Everything was clean and well thought out. The service was amazing and the amenities were well worth it. They hotel was able to keep the pool open, provide grab-and-go breakfasts, and maintain a safe, sanitary environment for their guests. There are a lot of hotels to choose from in the area but this will always be our first choice.
I was coming in from out of town and stayed 1 week at a neighboring hotel and couldn't take it any longer - it was dirty and run down - I saw this place on line and it looks just like the pictures. Rooms are supper clean and the staff is wonderful. We brought our dogs and pet friendly they are! We stayed 3 weeks and never had a bad minute! Beds are great, linens are clean and towels are white! Yep not over washed and gray...I would stay here over any other hotel in the area!
The rooms are so clean. The staff was so friendly and helpful, great fitness center, and pool. Nice clean bathrooms and beds. Overall I had a great experience! Would recommend to anyone. Definitely gonna stay here again
We stayed here the night of July 19th, while on our way to Wisconsin... and liked it so much that we booked it again on our return trip and stayed there again a week later. The hotel itself was recently renovated, and we arrived finding it immaculate. The lobby was very clean and organized, and the check-in process was smooth and efficient. For both stays, our room was also immaculate, and we were especially pleased to find the room cool with the A/C running as it was pretty warm out both days we stayed. The rooms looked better than the pictures on Orbitz - they truly didn't do justice. The entire staff was extremely friendly and accommodating - and each one wore masks. We felt extremely safe while staying there, considering the COVID pandemic. Only a couple things to note for improvement: during our second stay, we found the shower to be a bit messy, as there were quite a few hairs on the shower walls, and the curtain was a little gross and needed to be washed. Lastly, our room was adjacent to a noisy family that had a crying baby and a barking dog. They finally quieted down around 10PM, but the walls do allow noise to carry. All in all, our stay was great, and we'd likely book there without hesitation the next time we're driving thru to visit family in Wisconsin. And shout out to Rose who was very fast, friendly and efficient during check-in. She is the perfect ambassador for Best Western and she needs be promoted with a huge raise! Thanks Rose!
Great hotel clean atmosphere the front desk clerks are nice and easy to talk to. Beds are clean with soap and shampoo etc. overall 5/5 no complaints for the price. Highly reccomend to anyone in the champaign area
Stayed one night with my dogs. $25 pet fee, keep in mind. Had a pet friendly room, no carpet, very idea for people traveling with dogs. The property was clean, room and hallways immaculate. No continental breakfast due to Covid 19, but coffee is available, lots of restaurants in the area, Panera Bread is located within 4 to 5 minutes. Only issues I had was parents letting their kids run amuck in the hallway and pool area. I was going to be brave and go to the pool, but to many kids and assuming it was their parents in the pool area and possible chances of catching Corona from that group. And their was some people I found questionable, due to the way they were acting. Staff was courteous and friendly, helpful and professional. Bed was comfortable. It's a nice place to stay, especially for the price. Other than that, my stay was good.
We stayed one night at the hotel during the pandemic. After reviewing over a dozen other hotels that all had sketchy reviews (man living in hotel, drug deals in parking lots, hallways reeking of pot, no safety measures), we chose Best Western. Quick and easy check-in with plexiglass at the counter separating workers from guests, hand sanitizer, masks required. No carpet in the room, which is ideal. Clean room. $25 pet fee, whereas other hotels in the area had ridiculous $100 fees. We've brought our dog to tons of hotels and have never paid more than $25 to bring her. Lots of restaurants in the area. Easy access to highway.
We are reward members at another chain but based on comparative reviews decided to stay at this hotel. We were not disappointed at all! Loved the luxury vinyl flooring in lieu of carpeting especially during these times. Management couldn't have been nicer. Well done Best Western. Impressive!
After a long day with dealing with ac going out in my rig. I made once call that set me free. The welcomed me and my rig with open arms and smiling faces. Room was clean ( im very OCD) and cooled. Didnt want to check out but i would stay here whenever im in area. Great location!!!!! Breakfast was great even dealing with the new changes
This is the nicest Best Western I have ever stayed at, I thought I had walked into the wrong hotel at first. The updates do a lot to elevate the look and feel , room looks like it belongs in a higher end hotel . Bed was very comfortable , tv was big, and room was clean, which was all I needed. Front desk staff was friendly and check in process was smooth. My only complaint is not the hotel itself, but with other guests. The people above me were constantly walking back and forth , I'm not sure if the new flooring added to the noise or not. They did quiet down about the time I went to bed, so I did get a good nights rest. I would suggest getting a 2nd or 3rd room floor with that in mind, however I would definitely stay here again if in the area.
The hotel is very clean, , beds are very comfortable, and hotel is in a nice area. Jay at the front desk was so friendly and helpful. Needed to do laundry and to our surprise, they have a very nice quest laundry room. They have a grass area for pets. With doggy bags and a trash in the area. I highly recommend this hotel.
I was a bit concerned about this hotel due to the great price I paid, however it's a steal. The hotel looks brand new. All facilities were clean and the pool is now open (with social distancing guidelines). From the pleasant greeting at the front desk to the room (which was a bit strongly disinfectant smelling at first walk in), everything was fantastic. The beds are very comfortable and the shower had great pressure. It's also within a very short driving distance from several restaurants and shopping. You could probably walk, but it's not walker friendly around the area with several other hotels nearby. Thanks for the great stay through town!
Upon a late arrival, Jay was incredibly helpful in getting us a quick, friendly check in so that we could settle in. He informed us of all updates to policy due to COVID. Our room was spacious and VERY clean! We had everything we needed. In the morning as hot breakfast has been paused due to COVID, they were awesome and had brown bag breakfast with packaged items and water ready for guests. Customer service was great and would definitely recommend!
This is the only hotel I stay at when in town. Its the cleanest and has the best staff I've seen compared to many other hotels around! And Trust me! I travel for work and Im in a different hotel every night! This place is a home away from home for me when Im in town!
The room is very clean. The room looks renovated. And the staff in counter was friendly and helpful. Sack breakfast is a great idea. I feel that I am lucky to choose this hotel. And definitely, I would try this hotel if I get another chance.
Spotless, beautiful and no need for a car here, hope I stay here again! With covid, they have made creative and convenient changes, very thoughtful and careful place! I have to write 18 more characters.
Recently updated, modern, clean, and nice. GREAT beds, very comfortable, good night sleep. Reasonable rates, including for our pooch. Would highly recommend. (The breakfast room and pool area were lovely, but currently closed due to the COVID19 restrictions.)
Traveling over five hundred miles we were ready to end our day on the freeway. My wife and I had reservations at the Wingate by Wyndham. Check in went smooth, helpful night desk clerk was on duty. We had a clean, comfortable double bedded room which was a sight for sore eyes. Beds were comfortable, nice shower, and plenty of hot water. Breakfast was had a good selection of hot and cold offerings. The breakfast lady greeted us with a hearty good morning, a nice touch. The competitive price brought us in but the service and quality of accommodations will bring us back.
Quiet,Clean ,great location, restaurants close by, interstate close, breakfast was okay. Coffee in rooms, large rooms.comfy bed, indoor pool,I would recommend this location and I will stay again on business and pleasure trips.
Our Family Reunion at Wingate was amazing! The staff bent over backwards to make our family welcome. The hotel was completely remodeled and the experience was awesome. It was like having our family be welcomed home. The meeting room was a great place for the family to gather and the friendly staff was there to help. Selina was amazing.
We arrived and were told that there was heating issues in the pool. We had the grandkids staying with us and no where else to stay. I was verry cool in the pool area the water was somewhat warm, at least warmer than the air. The second day no improvement on the heat and the water was cooler. You would have thought they would have turned up the heated pool to compensate for the air temp. There were no towels at 4pm on Saturday in the pool. I went to the desk and the clerk said they were working on the towel situation. An hour and a half later and no towels. So my wife went to the front desk and they gave up had towels to dry. So my wife went to the room and retrieved our bath towels. I had to call the front desk and ask for more towel. Oh, also we had a reservation for 2 adults and 3 kids and they only had 3 towels in the room. I called for the towels and she asked me to pick them up at the front desk. Got the towel bag back to the room and she game me 2 bath towels and 3 hand towels. I told her there were 5 in the room. 3rd time we have stayed here and worst stay. We normally stay at the Comfort Inn on Lincoln. Never in 10 stays had a bad experience. Probably will keep staying there or find another hotel before we will come back here. Not even recognized as a rewards member. Some of your hotels do a great job of that. Use to stay at the hotel that was a Wyndam hotel close to the Univ. of ILL. It is now a Holiday Inn Express. Always had great service there. You have a ways to go to reach the service that we get at a choice hotel location.
Cold and unimpressed dorm atmosphere. Noisy hallways. Minimal lighting and decor in guest room. Poorly lit hotel signage. Would not recommend this hotel, while there are other options surrounding it. On our cross country travels, this was a big disappointment.
