SureStay Plus by Best Western St Marys Cumberland

The room was very nice, however the bed and especially the pillows were very hard. We had to get up from bed to use the TV remote. Maybe it needed batteries? Room was very warm even with heat off; we had to open the windows in February. Breakfast was substantial and varied, very good. However, two of the reasons we stayed here was for the hot tub and fitness room. The hot tub was NOT as hot as it should be, and only one jet was strong. I got a cold as soon as I got home, maybe this is why. Pool was a great temperature. Also, in the fitness room, Neither the bike nor treadmill would work. Staff could not get them to work. They said they would call the maintenance person, but they never showed. We would have gone for a walk, but nowhere to walk from this motel. The 3rd out of our 4 night stay one of the employees said we could go across the street to the comfort inn and use their fitness room, but who wants to do that? If you do stay here, get a room in the front, because various type of work people park in back and they are very noisy. This happened every night. If the hot tub and fitness room worked properly, I would have given this place a much higher rating. Oh, and bring your own pillow.

We spent one night at this location en route home from Florida. For a pet friendly hotel that does not have any rooms that were not utilized in the past for pets, I will say housekeeping does a great job of cleaning. I have allergies to pets and always ask for a non pet room at pet friendly hotels, unfortunately they didn't have any rooms. It was late evening, we had been on the road over 10 hours, and I just decided I would make the best of it. Was I surprised! Not the first reaction. This is a older hotel, but well kept up. We didn't stay for the complimentary breakfast.

The hotel has some age but very good value. Check in was easy and friendly. King bed and pillows were comfortable. Breakfast (included) for this level of hotel was good. Only drawback is that access to rooms is from the outside and there are NO ELEVATORS for second floor. Location is on main road about 3 miles from downtown. Would definitely stay here again.

Due to some car trouble on our drive to St. Mary's, we needed to get a hotel at the last minute on a Friday night. Our room was in the second building, clean, and looked to have been fairly recently renovated. I really liked that the flooring was LVP, as, let's be honest, hotel carpets can be disgusting. After a long day dealing with car trouble, we didn't want to be in a car any longer than we needed to, so we popped into the bar, Cumberland Breeze, off the lobby for a quick bite to eat. There was live music, which was a pleasant surprise. All the staff we encountered were friendly. There's a pool outside and a nice little courtyard. Breakfast was tasty and a welcome way to start the day!

Don't let the inexpensive price scare you. This property is older but has been well maintained. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good. We had eggs with cheese, sausage links and a glazed donut. Don't miss the courtyard with screened in pool.

This is our second stay at this facility and we loved it both times. While a little drive from 95 it's well worth the extra few miles. This place is great for people traveling with dogs as they have hard floors and a wonderful garden like park for walking. This is one of the quieter motels that we've stayed in and is really peaceful. The staff has always been very welcoming and friendly. The continental breakfast is delicious with a couple hot items and a great electronic coffee maker with various options, all of which are a great way to start the day!

Great location, easy drive to seagulls restaurant and bar with patio too, yummy historical bar, restaurant and hotel Taylor is great! The staff at Best western were good and nice and the breakfast was good, rooms were great too. We had a few issues but the staff helped resolve everything

Dirtiest floor I've ever seen in a motel room. Looks like they never mop. I will not return because it felt so gross on my feet and we had a young one who kept touching the floor. The breakfast was very good and workers nice. The park and outside was very nicely done.

I found this listing on Booking.com and the reviews were good and the price was definitely reasonable. I'm happy to say it was a GREAT choice. The girl at the front desk/check in. was friendly, helpful giving me some information on the area, as I hadn't been to St Marys before. The room was clean and the bed comfortable - Love that there was a Kuerig in the room along with the fridge and microwave. The A/C worked fine as did the tv and other items in the room. The continental breakfast was fresh, and well set up and the area clean - The person working in the room welcomed me which was nice. They do have a seperate,bar, lounge - I havent checked that out, but it was nice to also have that option inside the building if you wanted to use it. The location is right byseveral things and so very convenient. All in all, a very nice place to stay and would definitely come back here again.

We organized a reunion for our submarine and chose this hotel for the cost and location. The staff was great and enjoyed our stay here. The value was fantastic and I would stay there again if the opportunity presented itself. This isn't a 5 star hotel but it is a great value.

Safe and very quiet. Close to historic town. Profesional staff. Check in was efficient. Room had no carpet(hooray!) Seems recently renovated but an older hotel with no elevator to second floor rooms. Parking is right outside the room. Convenient. Delicious hot breakfast with lots of choices.

Very comfy king bed. Welcoming front desk staff. Good hot breakfast selections with specialty coffee machine and juice selections. Sufficient outlets near bed for cpap machines and chargers. Tile floor is preferable to carpet. Good shower pressure. Freezer worked. Comfy side chair and desk area. Quiet rooms. Not a 5 star but good value for money. Pool area is outside and needs a little refreshing. Nice picnic area.

Enjoyed my stay, some confusion during early check in after I paid to check in early the room still wasn't ready but the man at the front desk resolved it quickly and got me a new room

In St. Mary's for a three day work conference and was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The rooms were well appointed, clean (ok the coffee was a bit weak and the bed a bit soft) but the room was very quiet. The breakfast was adequate not super but pretty good. The grounds were really lovely and it was quiet. They have a very nice pool, too. Close to a really good Italian restaurant, grocery, and a fun pub across the street. I would definitely stay there again if I found myself in St. Mary's although it is too far from the city center to walk.

We will be visiting again soon if you haven't been to this location you need to try it it's awesome everyone was very attentive

I've stayed here in the past and it was run down and dated. I came this trip and the whole hotel, including the bar and gym have been renovated and is new. I was super impressed. I had a suite and it was clean, organized and new.

Above average Best Western off of a busy road two miles from the heart of St. Marys. Check-in staff was friendly and recommended nearby dining options.

Great value. Comfortable, clean, nice decor, very good breakfast, courteous and helpful personnel. It was close to the Cumberland Ferry in a cute little town.

staff was nice and helpful. There was a strange odor in room from fridge and we had to change rooms. Room was smaller than the first room. Breakfast was good and free. Check out was easy

Visited the area to be near my daughter for her graduation with several family members. Area is quiet, close to stores for all snack needs. Didn't make it to the bar onsite- only because we went out for dinner to see the beautiful downtown area at sunset. Room fit 5 over night and for 8 with a baby to visit in comfy living space in the room. Highly recommend for a place to just get away and enjoy the pool/outdoors! Our family is already planning a yearly visit.

Walls are paper thin., onecan hear the conversations from the rooms next door. Our next door neighbors from #123 kept fighting and screaming until 3am, a large dog was barking outside our room, we called the front desk there was no answer. The guy kept screaming that this "was not his kid and he was going to leave him there" . We checked out at 9am and asked the front desk to do a welfare check in the room just to make sure that no kid/child was left there, he seemed indifferent about the incident as if this is a typical occurance.

I traveled with members of the Pateesha Clinch Foundation from Miami Fl to participate in the Woodbine Crawfish Festival parade. The accommodations were very relaxing and refreshing. Lovely grounds and scenery.

Lovely greeting from Pam at the front desk on arrival. We had a great little suite with a washer and dryer. Breakfast was good and served from 6 a.m until 10 which meant we could have breakfast before catching the Cumberland Island Ferry. The hotel was excellent value with great staff and a really nice seafood restaurant just down the road. I will be back.

The Best Western Sure-stay was a great value. The staff provided friendly and polite service. The motel facility and grounds were well kept and pleasant. The motel surroundings were secure and safe. It was a good location for access to the St. Mary's area. Thank you!

We were in the area to play golf, sight see, and enjoy seafood....great spot for all three. Hotel is an older one which was once an upscale conference center...they are maintaining it very well as a budget friendly and more spot. "Full" Breakfast was available until 10---nice not to have to get up early. Would definitely stay her again if visiting St. Mary's area. We were 10 minutes from Trident Golf Course and about the same for downtown sights and good food. We did not go to Cumberland Island, but the down town was full of people who had. Also, the Submarine Museum was well worth some time there.

I want to personally thank Tammy. I made my reservations from the road due to a family emergency. She was patient as I needed to obtain the details of my visit and make the reservations. Seven days later, I arrived, and she remembered me making that call and welcomed me to the hotel. What a perfect representative of SureStay Plus Hotel by Best Western to have at the front end. The room was fantastic. The grounds were well cared for. I will make it a return trip every time I visit my brother in Florida. Thank you for a wonderful stay. JD

Great place for a quick stayover in St. Mary's on my way to Florida. Rooms were large, clean, many amenities, and beds were comfortable. We enjoyed breakfast, especially the coffee selections. All around it was just what we needed.

The staff was amazing. Everyone was professional and friendly. Everything was nice and clean. The manager Mrs Melissa was wonderful. Front desk clerk was very nice and explained all charges in detail. Housekeeper Ms. Erlene really made me feel at home.

The Picture was missed leading. Very outdated place. We stay 6 nights, if you stay more then one night good luck. Our Mattress was awful the room smelled like animals. I loved dogs. Butt. No house keeping or just asking if we needed anything. Overall below average.

Fantastic breakfast, safe area, and welcoming, helpful, employees! We enjoyed getting to stay there. If we had more time, we would have used the kitchen and washer/dryer in our room. It's a good value for the services received.

Please be aware (as I was) that there should be no expectation that an older property within a certain rate structure will present like a new property or a 5 star property. The room was clean. It had vinyl flooring and tile, which I believe is important in older facilities (meaning no carpet). They honored my advance request for a ground floor room. The "park right outside your room" feature is one of my top priorities. It was quiet in the evening, the cable and WiFi worked just fine, as did the A/C. I would have appreciated another waste basket in the room, but I made do with grocery store bags. Being somewhat particular, I typically manage my own breakfast so I cannot comment on that. For the price I paid for 4 nights on this 4th of July weekend I was satisfied, especially considering the location and what was available elsewhere. This was my basecamp for exploring Cumberland Island, the Okeefenoke and Jeckyll Island.

Everything about this place was perfection. Immaculately clean EVERYWHERE---room, lobby, breakfast area, fitness center, pool. Even the parking lot was immaculate! Incredibly friendly and helpful staff---front desk, Maintenance Man, Tenesha in the breakfast area. Bed was great, air conditioning was great, parking was great, breakfast was great, attitudes were great, helpfulness was great. Extremely quiet and peaceful-----this place is a hotel in the middle of a serene park! No surprises at check out, the bill was exactly as we expected. This place is a HIDDEN GEM of a hotel and an INCREDIBLE VALUE. Of course we are always pleased with Best Western, but this hotel just reinforced in our minds that we will be Best Western customers for YEARS TO COME! A+++++

This was not a bad little hotel. The staff was super friendly for check in and breakfast. It was a good location for where we wanted to be, which was close to the marina and the ferry. I would definitely stay here again. My daughter and I took a trip here, and I can say the breakfast was a really good one for a hotel! It was clean and reasonably priced. Even though the doors are on the outside, I never felt unsafe at any point. It is also located close to grocery stores and other amenities!

Older style with 3 accommodation blocks surrounded by plenty of parking. Two story buildings with stairs. The bathroom fittings were quite old but all clean and everything worked fine. “Wood” flooring looks quite new. The bed was fairly soft by my standards but comfortable. Shower worked fine with nice hot water. Basin outside bathroom. All the people there were very pleasant. The one negative for me was the internet access. It was slow and and I kept losing the connection which was frustrating but somehow I survived :)

Arrived with a group of Submarine Veterans for a reunion. The checkin process was fast and efficient despite the group. Our room was ready when promised. Very clean and nicely sized. The attached bar staff were very friendly too, and there was a community environment.

Stopped by to sleep while traveling with children. The hotel has a bar/club that faces one block of rooms, very smart. Once we fell asleep to the loud music I was awoken by a lady “working” around 2 am. Luckily my small girls didn't wake up and ask what that sound was. Ants in the room, missing/cracked tiles. 2 stars for the good Chinese food next door.

We've gone to St Marys several times because we find it to be a nice place to visit. Location of hotel is good, price is reasonable,quiet environment, room was fine. The only criticism is that we were there 5 nights and the cleaning staff never entered our room.

Just what I wanted. Clean, reasonably priced, quiet, good breakfast selection, comfortable room. I would give five stars, except property is dated, even though it's clean and well maintained. Not everybody wants the latest and greatest, (and most expensive). Excellent basic motel!!

Everyone from maintenance to management is absolutely the best. I spend a large amount of time staying in hotels/motels traveling for work. The staffing here is friendly, engaging, and overall pleasant. The rooms are clean and well maintained and the overall experience is very pleasant and comfortable.

This property certainly NOT representative of carrying the BEST WESTERN brand name...UNLESS-UNLESS Best Western is going the $$GREEDY$$ way. This felt more like today's Howard Johnson- Days Inn-Motel 6-RedRoof- certainly NOT a BEST WESTERN! THE ROOM: COLD-UNINVITING-FLOORS: CHEAP/COLD FAUX WOOD-BATHROOM EXHAUST FAN-FILTHY and in need of ATTENTION - WALLS in need of "eyes" - in need of "touch-ups" --of course if NO ONE CARES....then, so-be-it!! The bed: in need of new box springs OR whatever supports YOU USE--getting in and out of bed-noisy/annoying- the BREAKFAST-MEDIOCRE/SO-SO AT BEST.....just NOT what we expected- certainly NOT worthy of the BEST WESTERN branding....unless - unless BW is thinkin $$$DOLLARS$$$ ONLY!! We enjoyed our upgrade for we needed a first floor room and we got a suite for a little more with lots of rooming, complete with full kitchen and washer /dryer. It was very quiet and a nice area for walking a dog.

We were in the area for the Thanksgiving Holiday and randomly chose this Hotel. It was inexpensive so we booked it. We were quite skeptical because it was so cheap and it was a Motel Style on a busy street with a CVS on 1 side and a Winn Dixie on the other but this place was AMAZING! The Rooms were absolutely beautiful, the beds were comfortable and the food was great! Lots to choose from for Breakfast. The Staff was so kind and helpful. It was quiet, safe and had everything you'd want. I recommend this hotel to everyone!

I just needed an overnight stay on my way back home to Florida and this location is the last exist in Georgia before crossing the state line. The price was very reasonable and the room was very clean.

The hotel rooms are behind the reception center & far enough away that no road noise is heard. The pool area is located in the back of the buildings with a beautiful garden area surrounding it. The pool is also screened in. The green area has picnic tables & benches. What a pretty place! We enjoyed our stay with a few exceptions; the bathroom needs major renovations & the sink & vanity lighting is very poor.. Breakfast is boring with the same items offered each day; more protein items should be offered for clients who are pre diabetic or diabetic.

Sometimes, you cannot help but overhear noises from neighboring establishments, but this was not the case during our stay. It was calm, peaceful, relaxing, etc. We would definitely choose to stay here again should we return to visit.

Clean and is an amazing value for 2 Queen beds, nice breakfast, convenient to St Mary's historic district without the cost of a Bed and Breakfast. I recently stayed at a Sheraton and much preferred this. Choose this for you next visit to Cumberland Island.

Great value. This hotel really was a treasure and made our stay in St Mary's and Cumberland Island so enjoyable. Safe rooms, safe parking, accessible, comfortable, the beds and linens in Bldg 1 were fantastic, the pool was great, really great, and the staff were kind and helpful.

This hotel is a treasure in St Mary's. Accessible, safe rooms, safe parking, clean, cozy, considerate, full of the right amenities, a beautiful pool area, overall a great value. Make a stop for any meal at Steffens. So pleased in fact, I went ahead and joined the hotel company's parent program for future stays. I'll be glad to try more stays at Best Westerns again. Will definitely stay here when we visit St. Mary's again.

The staff is professional and friendly.The location is awesome.The room is clean ,has a nice Hdtv and a comfy bed.The breakfast is great has coffee,tea, juice,fruits, yogurt, sausage biscuits,boil eggs,cereals,grits, oatmeal, waffles,milk and chocolate milk and a variety of flavoring like cream cheese,jelly's,honey also muffins,toast and bagels.Gym and nice pool.Lovely atmosphere with picnic tables and nice restaurants.

We booked online but had to later call the hotel to make changes. The person I spoke to was very helpful. The same person checked us in. We had a comfortable clean room. The place was quiet. The breakfast was good and the hours that breakfast was available was beyond what some other places offer. The location is convenient to Cumberland Island where we spend a day. Also convenient to restaurants all up the main street from the hotel.

SureStay was very clean. The beds were comfortable. I enjoyed the complementary coffee and the mini fridge in the room. Check in and out was very easy. The breakfast was wonderful and there were lots of choices. I will definitely stay here again

Our stay at Best Western was very nice. The staff was friendly and extremely helpful. The room was very clean. The breakfast was great. Everything was perfect! We will always pick a Best Western hotel,

Bathroom had throwup and snot in the walls, reception did not help. I had to clean it myself. Granted it was 1am. Door would not lock, had to do a ghetto lock to keep our stuff safe, maintenance never showed up. Bed was filthy! Front desk did NOTHING!

Hotel is not as described online garbage and the staff is not extremely Not knowledgeable about the hotel and getting items that you need if staying 3 nights or more you will have to go to the front desk and get your tolerable items even though on your check in it states if staying 2 or more nights house keeping will check to see if you need anything. I even left the tag on the front door asking them to clean the room please that's there hotel tag. We were gone for approximately 6 hours came back nothing wasn't done. That's when I went to the front desk to get the items it too lol the young man 10 minutes to gather the items he had no clue what I needed and where they were. We stayed 5/26-29/2022

We stayed one night on our way back to Florida. The hotel is very clean and well kept up. Our room was spacious and had everything we could need. We visited the small bar/restaurant onsite and had a drink and food. Very nice atmosphere and good food. A very pleasant one night stay and we would stay again in we travel to the area.

Was a quick stay. Needed a place to stop on way north. Few miles away off 95 N when got into Georgia. Pleasant stay. Clean. Friendly. Reminder it's a motel with your door outside. Two floors. Not sure if elevator. I carried bag up one set of stairs. But car parked right there.

The room smelled very moldy/musty. The AC needs to be cleaned. My company did not send the corporate credit card authorization form on time. I used my Visa debit card for check in with instructions that it would be replaced with the corporate credit card authorization form in the morning. It was intended to secure the room for one night. We extended our stay several times. When the hotel ran the corporate card it was declined. Instead of calling me they decided to use my personal Visa debit card and charged my card for two rooms several nights. All they had to do was call me so that we could resolve the issue with the corporate card. Once I discovered this the issue was resolved. They then said they had refunded the charges to my personal card which was only partially true. The messed that up to. It created a hassle for me. Instead of treating me like some criminal they just should have picked up the phone.

I was scheduled for a tour of Cumberland Island close to the Sure Stay. I have been staying with Best Western since 1966, but this was my first Sure Stay experience. It was sheer delight. I am handicap and Mellisa Braun, the General Manager was delightful, courteous and polite. Melissa and her staff treat all guests with the uncommon philosophy-Treat people like you want to be treated. How refreshing that is the world. I was so impressed I returning tonight for a two night stay. Totally a great happy memorable experience. I am a Vietnam Vet and thank Best Western for the discount they offer our veterans. We had a full 2 room suite. the reservation, made about a week before, was for a regular room w/ king bed. The suite included two rooms- with 2 tvs, sofabed, chair, kitchen table w/ 4 chairs, full kitchen, full sized stove & fridge, microwave, WASHER & DDRYER!!! for one night, we didnt need all that. Even one room at the price we paid would have been a good deal

Although this is an older hotel, we were happy to find that the room was clean and the beds were comfortable. I liked that there was no carpet on the floors. The vinyl flooring felt much cleaner than carpet. We were given an efficiency suite that had a full kitchen. We did not need this option, but it would be great if you planned to stay in the area for a few days. We only stayed one night, but we would certainly stay at this hotel again if we were in the area. We originally planned to stay in Jacksonville, Florida, but this hotel was less expensive and it gave us a chance to visit a new town. St. Mary's, Georgia is a quaint, little waterfront town that offers several good restaurant choices and some nice antique stores.

EPIC FAIL - INTENTIONAL NEGLIGENCE- REPREHENSIBLE ACCOMMODATIONS - POTENTIAL EXPOSURE TO BIO HAZARDS + COVID PATHOGENS Good evening Melissa As the General Manager the level of accountability for ensuring guests are provided excellence in accommodations rests solely with you. The reprehensible conditions we were exposed to in “trusting” our lives by reserving our stay was unconscionable. Filthy stained sheets, torn, old sheets unraveling, trash on floor, non working toilet, and corroded tub faucet and sink stopper. I took pictures to ensure you see what was shocking. Frankly, I am appalled by the audacity to have been told the room was ready for occupancy by Melissa. The room was far from being ready and should have been never listed as available. Room 302 should be blocked until such time as it has been fully cleaned, sanitized and updated with bath fixtures suitable for use. Pictures have been provided to Roni Grimes, and if you also need copies - reply in this email to have them sent. I am embarrassed for Best Western and you; the conditions we were exposed to for the less than :15 minutes of accepting the room (sight unseen) leaves a bad taste for future consideration of any Best Western properties nationally. Immediate Actions I expect to be taken to ensure no charges appear on my credit card and immediate cancellation of any HOLDS or other potential charges. Given the weekend was planned as a getaway - driving from Fayetteville GA this morning to visit St Mary's was a huge fail when arriving from a day of dolphin watching and exploring antique stores - only to be ready for rest and encounter horrific conditions resident in ROOM 302. We had to drive another 100 plus miles to Savannah area to find a room; bearing the weight of additional expenses unplanned for this getaway. Regrettably, I can not recoup time, additional expenses and other intangibles from you or Best Western, what I can do is be honest and forthright in review of my first hand experience.

Was a bit off the highway on route to Florida, but was a pleasent surprise when we got our room, It was spacious and clean. Very quiet for the evening stay over and nice breakfast provided in the morning, Will definately consider the Sure Stay next trio

Can say all great things about the staff, but can't say a whole lot about the inconsiderate guests. Throwing their trash in the parking lots, their cigarette butts everywhere, not cleaning up after their dogs in the common areas where people walk their dogs. It's too bad because this is a nice clean hotel other than what the guests are doing to trash it up. It's obviously been recently remodeled. The shower heads need replacing, but all else in the room was in like new condition.. Overall, it was a safe, clean place to stay with breakfast included in the price. Great location also, right next door to a grocery store on one side and a drug store on the other side, a few fast food places within walking distance. Only about 3 or 4 miles to the harbor area of St Marys one way, and about 3 or 4 miles to tons of stores and restaurants in Kingsland.

The St. Marys Surestay Plus by Best Western, formerly the Cumberland Inn & Suites, just cancelled four “confirmed” reservations created by four families traveling to St. Marys for a two night mid-February 2022 stay. Three of the four families had received “confirmed” reservations sent by the Surestay's software to our email addresses. The fourth had an oral confirmation from the desk clerk. I and another family had made the reservations by talking personally to the desk clerk on the phone. Another family made it by the online Surestay reservation system. The fourth family made it through a link with AAA. Thus, the reservations were accomplished in different ways, each way generating confirmations of the stay. About two weeks out from the time needed on the reservation, when one of our members later called the St. Marys Surestay Plus by Best Western to extend an additional day, he learned for the first time he did not have a reservation, nor did we, and alerted the rest of us. I called and spoke with the general manager, Melissa. At first she referred to it as a “computer glitch”. Then she stated that this happens all the time with Surestay Plus and her motel in particular. They allow overbooking to occur and will notify the guests about a week out that the “confirmed” reservation is cancelled. She stated that her motel had no rooms available for any of our four confirmed room reservations. She claimed it was endemic to her operation and to the hotel industry in general because the St. Marys Surestay Plus reservation system is unable to integrate multiple booking platforms to prevent this. Apparently, this is so even when talking with the desk clerk! She did assist with rebooking in another motel in another town. She refused to offer any financial compensation for the Surestay Plus multiple cancellations in the way of reduced or free rates at her “sister motel”. She would not answer the question if other persons at Surestay Plus by Best Western had “confirmed” reservations and would be permitted to stay.

This property makes it seem a good idea to stay a couple of days extra, see some more of the sites. A decent little breakfast gets us out and active early in the morning, a friendly bar on property tucks us in. This is a decent stop for two 60 plus childless adults. A decent find.

The staff is friendly and provides great service. Clean, affordable rooms. As a solo traveler, I have always felt safe at this hotel. Perfect location for trips to Cumberland Island National Seashore.

The hotel is in the process of being renovated and I like what they have done so far. Our room was basically two rooms that were combined into one by making a doorway between them. One side had the kitchen and living room the other side had the bathroom and beds. It was very comfortable clean. Basically all we needed for a nights stay as we travelled around for vacation. The only thing I would change is the fridge was very old. Did I mention there is a full kitchen and washer/dryer? Also, I see so many comments about this place not having an elevator…. It's only two floors and most buildings in this country with two floors are not required to have an elevator. Now if you are handicapped I would recommend calling ahead and asking for a first floor room .

Fantastic value! We stayed in the queen suite because we were traveling with grandkids. The room was older but very clean and HUGE! My only regret was not being able to enjoy the beautiful pool because it's December. Our room had a full size stove w/ oven, full size fridge, microwave, kitchen sink, etc. Even a washer and dryer. It's basically a small apartment! I would highly recommend this for families.

Stayed two nights. They did not clean the room or replenish towels or supplies. The phone in the room did not work so went to front desk to inquire about cleaning. Was told they were short staffed and did not get to clean all the rooms. We were provided with towels and a broom and dustpan to clean the room ourselves. The next morning on checkout was told that it was not short staffing but policy that they do not clean the rooms every night, only replenish them. The room was not replenished or serviced at all during our stay.

I was in town for work and it was a nice little place to relax. The room was clean and comfortable. The bed and TV was nice. I arrived early and wanted to check in early, the front desk employee Jamie let me know my room wasn't ready but took my number to call me when it was. She was very nice and check in was very quick. I'll stay again next time I'm in town.

I'm new to trip advisor, so I hope the hotel will see this. We had never stayed at a Surestay, but it was in St. Marys and close to the historic area. I called to make reservations and spoke to a lovely young lady named Jamie. I asked her about 20 different questions, and she took her time to answer all of them. She told me about different things to do in the area, local restaurants, and addressed my concerns about getting a ground floor room since they don't have elevators. She assured me she would make sure we were ground floor which was a huge relief. The day we checked in Jamie was actually there to check us in and remembered me. She told me she made sure I got that ground floor room! The room was nice, and the pool area was beautiful. Breakfast was decent, they had a good selection. We personally liked the waffles best. The gentleman working breakfast was wonderful, I believe his name was Levi. He was so friendly, and helped us make the waffles, he even helped us carry a few items to our table. Housekeeping isn't going into rooms every day but they came to see if we needed anything and brought us new towels and coffee, and were very polite. Checkout was quick and easy, and Jamie was there again. I joked, asking if she ever leaves. All in all, it was a wonderful experience. I hope to come back to the area again soon and will be staying here. It seems they have a great team, and really have some outstanding employees.

We were planning to travel to Cumberland Island for the day, and this hotel was perfectly located. Right next door is a grocery story, where we were able to pack a picnic, and the ferry (visitor's center) is just a couple of miles drive. Shops and restaurants nearby. Clean hotel, friendly staff. Would stay here again!

I have previously had great experiences with Best Westerns and expected this property to be a clean, safe, reasonably placed stopped over during a family vacation. This was anything but clean or safe. Honestly, I was in fear for my family's safety the entire time we were at this hotel. The gunshots approximately a block away did not help. The rooms all open to the outside which is typically a bad sign. I booked online without knowing this detail. The property is literally falling apart. There was a sign saying the hotel was under new ownership and being renovated and one building did appear to be getting completely overhauled as there were large construction waste dumpsters in the parking lot. The room was DIRTY! There had to be at least 5 different people's hair on the bathroom floor. This is a shady hotel. STAY AWAY!

The room was dirty, including the toilet. The floors were sandy and dust was everywhere. There was not a luggage rack available and the hair dryer did not work until I called to have it fixed. The walls had been patched but not repainted to match the color of the wall. Breakfast did not offer any protein based foods. Everything offered was carbs and sugar. This property is not ready to be occupied and needs a good housekeeping staff.

This hotel was amazing. I had family stay there because they evacuated from New Orleans because of hurricane Ida. I was so happy to hear that General Manager Ms. Melissa made them feel at home. Everything was nice, clean and neat and everyone was very nice. I would definitely recommend this establishment for your vacation needs.
