Best Western Plus Desoto

Checked in , within 15 minutes I noticed the heavily soiled floors, torn down curtains, smeared substance on both headboards , hair on night stand and empty toilet paper roll. Manager offered me 25 bucks off. Please look at pictures guys!! Entire room floor soiled. Disgusting! Spoke with GM Parker. Asked for a refund. Booking.com even requested one. Patrick didn't seem too concerned. Emailed Parker pictures with no response. He went and walked the room and says he sees nothing wrong with them that would negate a refund?

Arrived at 11. Was not given a room until after 1 am. Only one employee running entire hotel. Rooms were not cleaned, so she had to “clean” the rooms for each group waiting which were multiple ones. Then come downstairs to print room keys. My kids slept in the car after a 4 hour road trip. Did not get the room I reserved a week in advance. So we were given a one bed room fit for people. Strong smell of marijuana on entire floor. Items from previous guests in our room, floors were sticky, and had to wait till morning for towels.

The upkeep of the hotel could be better and the staff can be better. There are only 2/3 staff members that are friendly and helpful. The others aren't and if they mess up, like over charging you almost $200, you may get a "oh well" or a "I didn't do anything wrong so that's on you". You may even get denied a printed receipt because "we don't print receipts".

Hello, I stayed at the Best Western Plus, 01/19/2024 I was in Room 208. I notified the front desk that there were some bugs in the room. The young woman at the front desk was very nice and helpful and offered me a new room. I went into the new room which was Rm 220 and the room was nasty , the floor was horrible and sticky and there was hair on the bed. I went back to the front desk and told her. Again she was very apologetic. Unfortunately there wasn't anything else available. I agreed to stay in my original room where I had killed bugs ( roaches) because I was tired and was only staying one night because we had no water due to the winter storm in Memphis also I had no other choice. The young lady told me that at checkout my money would be refunded to me. There was a New lady at checkout , I told her my issues from last night and she said she would credit me $25. However I never received anything. Refund or a credit.. it's fine but I would like to say that you guys should really look into keeping a clean hotel and at least check with the customer to see if what you promised was done.

Stayed one night as we passed through while traveling to Arkansas. Overall, it was a decent stay and good value. You get what you pay for and this is an inexpensive option for getting some rest and breakfast. I'll list the pros and the (somewhat petty) cons. Pros: ~ Every staff member we encountered was very friendly and helpful. Every. Single. One. Told us good morning and have a great day. ~ Aesthetically this hotel is beautiful. Color palette is pleasing and calming. ~ Breakfast was delicious, the serving period was long (6:30-10), there were many options including fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, waffles, eggs, biscuits and gravy, and sausage. The area was kept very neat and I witnessed an employee ask a child to return to their room to put shoes on as they were barefoot in the breakfast area. ~Price was great. ~Toiletries in the room were fancy, and above average in the offerings left in room. ~Coffee pods in room were Community Coffee and several options were given. ~Shower was very roomy and featured a shaving ledge which I appreciated. Cons: While things appear new and modern, a lot of the furniture and fixtures lacks in quality or is in need of repair upon further inspection and use. ~Chairs in the breakfast area felt quite unstable. I'm 130 pounds and felt as if I may end up on the floor. ~Pillows were not flat but they were lumpy. ~Toilet in the room was not seated properly and would rock heavily when sitting and standing up. ~Mattress itself was comfortable but the bed frame was very loud. ~Walls are quite thin. Heard the neighbors tv clearly and could hear talking. ~Deadbolt on our door did not function;however there was a safety latch at the top of the door. ~ Floors were pretty creaky. We were on the 4th floor and I'm not sure I've experienced such creaky floors in a hotel before. Overall, this is a good stay and I'd return. I think that the initial appearance of the lobby made me forget it was a budget hotel so when we encountered quality issues, they were a bit jarring.

Hotel directory said breakfast closed at 10:30 on holiday. But when I got down there at 10 the doors were closed and I was just told that they are closed with no explanation. My meds are to be taken with food so I was so disappointed.

Wow finally a decent hotel. We have had nothing but bad experiences. I couldn't find anything to complain about. Spotless clean. Pool was nice and warm not like those that try to spare any expense. My wife was happy and she is very picky. Kudus to front staff.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean. The bed was just okay, but everyone like their own bed at home better. The shower was great, Breakfast was better than we expected. A wide variety of things to have, clean and organized area. The lady in charge of the breakfast area had it going on. Can't remember her name but she was doing a great job.

Even though I stayed for one night, I have no complaints for any of the services. I only used the internet/wifi. Easy to use. I didn't use the breakfast service because I don't often eat breakfast especially when I'm alone. But it was nice that it was an available option!

The beds are not very good and the hallway carpet looks old and dirty. However, the staff was very nice and friendly. Walking distance to Chile's and O' Charlie's resturant, and Walmart. Very convenient location.

The customer service was well appreciated, I could tell it was real. The friendliest staff ever. Great atmosphere. Good location and has stores and restaurants for your every need within half a mile some walking distance.

The hotel is close to shopping and dining, yet is quiet. The staff are friendly and helpful. The room my family and I stayed in was spacious and clean. We stayed three nights, and enjoyed our stay thoroughly. The hot breakfast was very good.

I've visited almost all hotels in Olive Branch but this one is the BEST. They go above and beyond for their guests. Everything was clean, from the parking lot to the bathroom in my room. Staff was very friendly, always had a warm and welcoming smile. I really love it here, wouldn't pick any other hotel!

I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel since it was a business trip that my company put me up in. The staff was friendly, nice and knowledgeable. The hotel was clean and modern with all services available (such as housekeeping and the pool).

It's near a lot of convenient places to eat, Walmart, gas stations and other stores. Not far from downtown Memphis and easily accessible. The gym is very convenient for a quick workout. This was our 2nd time staying here and we would stay here again.

I stayed one night at The Best Western it was horrible! Hair in the bathroom the toilet was dirty. The towel have hair all in them. Had to do to Walmart an purchase towels. The breakfast bar was completely dirty. Worst experience! It's other hotel that around the area that's nicer

Extremely satisfied staff was very nice and professional. Rooms are clean. Pools inside was inviting but unfortunately we didn't have swim suits ready. Bathroom and shower are great. Will definitely come back in the future.

Hotel was a great choice, staff was wonderful and the room was very nice and clean. I would definitely recommend Best Western Desoto to anyone needing to stay at a hotel in this area whether it be business or leisure.

Front desk refused to assist with asking a patron to turn down their TV which was blaring and preventing me from sleeping. Managers were not available at night. Never in my 30 years of business travel has a front desk refused to contact a guest who was disturbing other guests.

We've stayed here several times and we are very pleased with the room comfort, cleanliness and service. The breakfast is really good. The only minor complaint I had was not enough towels in the room for two people. It's in walking distance to Wal-Mart and a few restaurants.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The room and property was really clean and modern. The staff was smiling and assisted promptly. We will stay here again. The complimentary breakfast was fresh and really good

First room was extremely dirty so asked to be put into another room. Upgrade us but that room was as dirty as the first and toilet was filled with paper or bag! Took two visits with manager to get this fixed. Then discovered no hot water. I am sure staff knew they had a problem when we checked in but it was never communicated to us. Breakfast selection was limited and very limited quantities of what was there.

I will stay here again, staff was friendly. Staff helped where needed and was nice to help us with extra towels and lady that keeps the breakfast hot, thank you for the bacon. It was delicious, and kept it coming.

The room was adequate for the price. We could see the car from our room. Check in and front desk folks were easy and nice. Breakfast was ok but simple measures could have improved the situation. They didn't seem ready for a 6am start.

The hotel is very clean. Breakfast is great with a lot of variety. I always feel safe here. The location is great. Many places to eat within walking distance. Walmart right next door. The staff ate very nice.

We arrived over 9 hours before our scheduled time and the hotel let us check in hassle-free. I feel like they had the appropriate response for a tired couple who had been on the road for over 7 hours. Two Thumbs up to Best Western for always exceeding my expectation!!!

My family and I stopped into this hotel while passing through the area. We needed two rooms to accommodate our group. The rooms were reasonably priced, but more importantly, clean! The staff was friendly, and breakfast was great. Would definitely stay again!

Very nice facilities, hot fresh breakfast and polite staff. Convenient to shopping and restaurants. There were a few sketchy folks hanging around the side of the building, loitering under a tree away from the street lamp. But we've seen that in Tennessee and Georgia also; we just park elsewhere and stay aware of our surroundings. Overall, nice hotel.

My wife and I have been traveling and needed a place to stay near Memphis Tennessee. We didn't want to be right in Memphis so we chose Olive Branch.it was about the best Best Western we have stayed in,and we have stayed in quite a few. Eugene the manager should be proud of his crew and the fine hotel.

Thieving place stole another payment from my credit card after i had left. I stayed one night and had an email receipt come through. Luckily i check my credit card and noticed they had tried to charge me for another nights stay without me even being there ! Damn right theft. Stay clear of the place as they can't be trusted and steal. I have had to contact my card provider over the fraudulent activity on my card blocking it for the rest of my holiday and now am stuck with not facility to pay.

Wow. I'm very picky, and have stayed at properties throughout the country that were more expensive and had better name recognition, but this Best Western Desoto ended up being the cleanest and nicest hotel I've stayed at in a LONG time. It's tucked on a side street with a Chili's, O'Charleys restaurant, and two new hotels in the same parking lot. There was a Walmart located behind the hotel, and several fast food restaurants (Wendy's, ChikFilA, McD, Starbucks, etc.) a 1/4 mile away. I was traveling with only my teenage son, and we felt safe coming and going. We arrived for a soccer tournament at Mike Rose Soccer Park with no reservation. We were quickly greeted, given a room for the same price as listed online, and told that it would be ready in an hour. We sat in the lobby, and ten minutes later they came and offered us a "better" room for the same price that was ready immediately. We took it, and were so impressed. I used the public restroom on the main floor and peeped into the pool area. Both were spotless. Our room looked almost brand new and very clean, plus designed well for a relatively small space. There were lots of electric outlets and ports for chargers. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was comparable to similar hotels. The only issue we had was with children running in the room above us, but it was a minor inconvenience. I would highly recommend staying here and will definitely stay on our next visit to the Memphis area.

The General Manager Eugene Perez is unresponsive to his guest needs I requested to speak to him and he never came out his office to chat nor did he call or come to my room to see if my issue was resolved for the duration of my stay. The Operational Manger Jessica nails is Rude and has zero listening and communication skills.

This is a very modern property, only about 2 years old. Check-in was a breeze and the front desk staff was superb! The king suite was perfect for my family and the beds were very comfortable. We especially enjoyed the heated pool. The full hot breakfast was delicious and conveniently lasted later than most other hotels. The property was also in a perfect location with Walmart and several restaurants literally within walking distance. I will definitely bring my family here again!

This hotel is fairly new and is neat and clean. The staff was very accomodating and enjoyable. The location is handy with severa, restaurants nearby as well as a Walmart next door. I enjoyed my stay and would definetly stay here again.

Staff was great. I had a couple of requests and they were happy to help. No hotel room is as clean as my house but our room was overall clean, edges, corners, and behind bed could use a little attention as always. Breakfast is whats to be expected for the price, it was hot and fresh and counter tops were clean.

One of the best western hotels I have stayed in. Super friendly staff rooms were in pristine shape. Internet worked well decent breakfast. Will definitely be staying here on my trips to Memphis from now on.

We have family in the area and stay in hotels when we visit sometimes. We had been staying at another brand but chose this hotel this time. We think that next time we come, we will come back to this hotel instead. The location was good and convenient to stores and restaurants. It was in a busy area but noise was not a problem at all. Checkin was very pleasant by Cassandra. Our room was overall clean and very comfortable. The shower was great. Internet worked great for us. We did not try the breakfast because we were meeting family elsewhere so I have no comment on the food. We felt the rate was fair and we were given a treat bag upon arrival …. Probably as a Platinum member. There were some carpet stains in our room but overall, the hotel felt clean. I would recommend this hotel to family or friends and I would stay here again myself.

My stay once again was amazing had a small hiccup with house keeping not giving my room fresh towels, but the staff made sure I received some...This is the best place to stay in Olive Branch hands down

The shower curtain was dirty on both sides and there was a used wash rag in the shower from the previous tenant. Also, we had a two queen bed room and they only gave us two towels. When I asked for more towels, she told us that housekeeping had went home and they didn't have any, to check back in the morning. The carpet also had sticky spots all over it and the tile in the entryway and bathroom clearly had not been cleaned either. There was also a group of teenage boys that would stand at the elevator on our floor and follow people from the elevator to their rooms and then go back to the elevator, it was very unsettling. The breakfast was lacking to say the least. We had to eat one at a time waiting for them to bring out other food and the selection was very poor. We booked early and only paid $130 for a night here. Compared to the almost $200 we have been paying at other places, it sounded pretty good for the price but I would rather pay more and have a clean place and not feel unsafe.

Walked in to the lobby to check in was not greeted very unprofessional never had eye contact with the associate the the carpet in the room was dirty. the elevator had something sticky on the floor looked like it leaked out of a garbage bag because disgusting it left a trail to the house keeping door but location is convenient to everything probably wouldn't stay again

Checkin was smooth. Impressive lobby. Rooms as expected. Wi-Fi easy login. Breakfast was the usual. Very clean. Employee cleaning continually. We will return if we go to Graceland which is about 30 minutes north.

I canceled my reservation a week before my stay and a charge still went on my credit card. I was perfectly in the timeframe of their cancellation policy. Luckily I check my card. I'm very disappointed with the front office for missing something on my cancellation request. When I called I thought we were all good :(

Great hotel it was very quiet very clean I would definitely be staying here again when I return in a few more weeks the staff was very nice and respectful to me and my family every time we came in contact with them

We stayed here on the way from Chicago to Gulf Shores. It has a ton of restaurants surrounding it which was perfect because we arrived late and hungry. There were a ton of baseball teams staying at the hotel and they were all hanging out in the lobby when we got there. We were worried they'd be loud all night but we got to our room and never heard a sound. The pool looked nice but got there late & left early so no time to use it. My boys did feel it & said it was felt cold. The breakfast had numerous hot options: eggs, sausage, waffles ect.. The front desk staff was lacking in their friendliness. They all seemed overwhelmed and it was a bit crazy with all the teams but a smile would have gone a long way. We are BW rewards members and generally get water upon check in. Not a big deal that we did not get it but when I turned in the key I politely asked if this location did that because we had not been offered the night before. We still had a lot of hours left on our drive so I was hoping to get the bottles of water if it was something done at this location. I was rudely told we had to be Platinum members. I said I was fairly certain we were, she quickly looked at the computer and said 'Oh, I see you are-the water's are over there' and pointed to a cooler not far away. Again, not a big deal but being polite and giving a smile when your guests are checking in, asking simple questions ect will go a long way. Besides needing a smile from staff we had no complaints, a great hotel to stay at for a wonderful price!

Staff was super friendly and very hardworking! Hot breakfast. Rooms were clean and nice. It was in a great location close to food and shopping. Would definitely stay there again in the future. Some of the best staff!

Beds were comfortable, good breakfast but it seemed staff had trouble keeping up but otherwise good! Pool was nice but it was not heated! But my kid didn't mind! Had to ask for towels everyday since we did not get laid service even with a tag requesting it. Still overall very modern & clean. I woukd stay again!

Hotel was awesome and family friendly....the staff was polite and rooms were extremely clean. Rooms look exactly like online photos. This hotel does not disappoint...my family and I will be returning the next time we're in the area!

We were pleased with our stay and greatly appreciated last minute accommodations for an extra guest that accompanied us. The breakfast was good, decor was aesthetically pleasing, and staff was very friendly. If I'm being picky, I did see a bug in the bathroom, some dirty carpet, etc. but it was fairly clean overall. My main complaint was that we were unable to use the indoor pool because we had to reserve a 1 hr time slot. We wanted a nighttime slot and all were full. The indoor pool was my primary reason for choosing this location, so that was very disappointing.

They seemed a little prejudice, I was told that the pool was only open to the peoples that booked it! Meaning you had to make reservations to go to the pool!! But wen I passed by it was only a white couple in there!!! But once I said we gonna check right bk out bc my kids wanted to enjoy the pool, they was like ok we can open it up to y'all! So sad! I booked for two nights but I checked out early bc I was very uncomfortable after that

Nice hotel. Great location. Good breakfast layout. Clean. I'm not interested in swimming, but the indoor pool looks like a nice year-round amenity. It was full of people when I checked in. Only 2 small complaints... 1) The noise coming from the room above mine is thunderous. I will ask for a top floor room next time. 2) The rooms do not have a full-length mirror! That might be a minor issue to some, but it is a basic item in most hotel rooms.

While this hotel was overall clean and quiet, and had a nice set-up for a free hot breakfast, there was very little food available either morning and the staff was unwilling to bring out more. Staff was friendly. Base room rate was different than advertised.

Due to an ice storm in Memphis, TN., our electric power was out so we checked into the Best Western. It was a great stay, new, very nice professional staff. We experienced no problems. It was located next door to shopping and close to many restaurants.

Everything from start to finish was professional. We called the Best Western reservation line. They quickly found us the hotel along our route. The hotel was clean, personnel couldn't have been better.

Everything was nice and clean the bed is very comfortable so is the sofa hot water runs great pool is amazing love the fact that it's an indoor poo it's not even loud at the hotel and if you do go Mrs.Princess Is the best receptionist

I was so impressed with the professional customer service - first impression and ease of checking in late at night. I had to be sent to this location due to power failure at a previous hotel. The room was super clean and everything was just PERFECT. Did not have to ask for anything all questions were answered.

We stayed here one night on our way from Missouri to Georgia. Everything was very clean! The staff was all so helpful and nice! The breakfast area was very clean and all the food was good! We will definitely stay here again when we pass through. We enjoyed our stay!

I needed a place to stay because the first Hotel that I was in was entirely unacceptable. I stop in at the Best Western in Olive Branch to see if it was OK. The front desk person was a delight and tremendously helpful. Facilities were great.

Recently I attended a golf tournament. The coordinator chose this location. It met all of our expectations. Very clean, nicest staff you will ever meet, and a hot breakfast. Very pleased with accommodations.

Very nice an clean location of this hotel. Its in walking distance from Walmart( which is a plus for parents) and a great choice for food. Close to the highway, and if you like shopping less than 20min from outlet mall

We had reservation at another hotel but they ended up moving our reservation to the Best Western Plus! It was the best thing the other hotel could do for us! Clean rooms and the beds were wonderful! The staff was so warm and friendly! The location is by a Walmart, a variety of restaurants and only 10 - 13 minutes from the Memphis Airport!

The bathrroom wasn't cleaned the was smudges of brownish on the wall vanity as well. The room was quite small for two queen bed. Minimal moving space. I selected the hotel for an indoor pool was given 30min. Im very disappointed in the service of the staff as well. I didn't feel the valued customer services I've received at other hotels.

They had no towels in room & when I did they was full of someone else hair. Front desk will not bring up or housekeeping had to go down after shower to get more towels. Rude at Front desk Unprofessional at checkout they all where outside looking at me standing there

The hotel was very clean and the staff was amazing! I do not have a single complaint.. the hotel is in a great location with lots of restaurants and stores nearby so you don't have to travel far for anything!

Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Hallways were freezing and I wish they had made sure the pool area was clean. They serve breakfast & they have microwaveable food, drinks, & snacks. They were a little short on housekeepers over the weekend but they accommodated us very well. I would come back.

I've stayed at this hotel on multiple trips to the area and it never disappoints. The rooms are beautiful and clean, the staff is friendly and helpful, and you can't beat the price for the quality. It's perfectly located close to stores, restaurants, etc. I will plan to stay here whenever I'm in the area.

the staff is so kind and helpful, super clean rooms, breakfast is good, has a nice sitting area outside with a water fountain, right next to walmart and restaurants, just cant say enough about this hotel!

Both the hotel and staff are super nice at this location. Will always be staying here when in town for baseball. Quick and convenient location for getting to the ballfield. Also, next door to Wal-Mart. Woot!

When I tell you my stay was extremely great. The housekeeping department kicks ass! Ohhh and the housekeeping manager I must say she's one of the best! She made sure my stay was a great one! Kudos to them for all the hard work! However the front desk has some major issues! The General Manager is very rude! He doesn't know how to talk to his team! Thanks again to housekeeping I will be returning ONLY BECAUSE OF HOUSEKEEPING!! Kudos

I would definitely stay here again for sure it was really nice clean the staff were really friendly as well I hardly ever find a great hotel like this one and I can't wait to stay again very quite!! LOVED IT

This was a surprise for my mom for her wedding anniversary. She absolutely loved the stay. Especially the bed and the shower. I'm going to stay myself next time. The staff was so nice and accommodating.

Was displeased because of this being a newer hotel, the housekeeping was terrible garbage sat in the hallway all day and even into the next morning no fresh towels in our room we practically had to beg for them, if housekeeping don't improve this hotel will go down very quickly sad to say and don't put families with a bunch of kids on the top floor too noisy

I was concerned with the amount of hair that I was finding in the room. Even on the sheets. Made me ponder how thoroughly the room was cleaned. The lobby was really nice. I was also required to leave an incidental, it was given back the next day.

Stayed overnight here passing through on gals vacation. Extremely Clean rooms & common areas. Breakfast was hot and had several options. Courteous staff. The facilities here are new and very well cared for so far. We had a Great stay & would definitely stay here again on our way through.

After having to leave my home following a power outage caused by an ice storm, Eugene, the manager of this property agreed to accept my free night voucher, although it had a lower rewards point value that what was required to stay at his hotel. And then to top it off, the customer service that he and his front desk clerk, Jennifer, extended was superior and second to none! We had a very comfortable room at a place where the staff not only said they cared but showed it in so many ways.

this place was above what we expected, could not have been any better service, breakfast, walking distance to walmart, walking distance to restaurants. keep up good work the front desk was always very nice and polite when you went to them with questions

I would not come back here. The team did not exceed my expectations. I was so disappointed being a year old hotel I expected it to be a lot nicer and friendlier staff. The room was fine. The stay and pricing was fine. We stayed for 3 days 4 nights visiting my in laws. Not a single housekeeper came in to our room to make our bed, take out trash or replaced our linens. Yeah we understand there's no deep cleaning that they can do but they can replace trash bags, make the beds, and give us fresh towels. If not, what else are the housekeepers there for? We had the “please make room” sign on the door Saturday morning, came back Saturday night and no sign of a housekeeper. We let it go and said Its only been a night. We went to the front desk Sunday morning to ask for fresh linens and trash bags. Two housekeepers and front desk personal was there when I asked Sunday morning, we came back Sunday night and nothing was still done. We checked out Monday morning and told the manager in duty about what happened and why we had no service at all. Coming in from the side door from a “smoke break” (yes they were smoking right outside the side door so I know they just came back from a smoke break) was the front desk lady that I talked to Sunday morning about our rooms to be clean, and she very rudely interrupted my conversation with the manager saying with an attitude “did you talk to me yesterday” at that point I've had it and walked out.
