Best Western Plus Raton Hotel

Our stay was brief but very comfortable. We needed an overnight spot on a road trip between Dallas and Denver and this was a perfect spot. Right off the highway, the lobby and reception staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room itself was super clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet as well-hot and cold options. Definitely take advantage of that. Would absolutely recommend! A great value.

I stay at this property 24 plus nights a year. I enjoy staying there so much that I almost always stay an extra night. This property is clean and quiet. Customer service is top notch across the board. The restaurant, Mulligans, is easily 4 out of 5 stars. For my fare its 5 stars. Food is always hot and fresh. The morning breakfast is equally as good. This is a first class property across the board and I can not say enough positive things. Also, this property is locally owned and operated. They carf about their guests a 110%.

We really enjoyed our stay and would stay again. Very clean and well kept. I was surprised by the indoor pool and the inside door. All the kids seemed to be enjoying it. Breakfast was great and the staff helpful and pleasant. Only complaint- they only gave us three bath towels.

Definitely a nice hotel for a good price. You don't have to leave the facility for a nice meal, and the restaurant even has a full service bar with lots of options. The saltwater pool is beautiful. I would recommend this hotel.

Every time we stay at this property I am more impressed. Staff is professional, Breakfast is always great. While we did not use it this time, the on premise restaurant is always good and the services is also excellent!

I was in Raton for two night business trip and this hotel was recommended by a local resident. That was a great recommendation and the BW Raton did not disappoint. The entire property was spotless and well maintained. All the staff was helpful and friendly. Free full-breakfast in the morning was tasty and filling. Mulligans bar and restaurant was open in the evenings for dinner and drinks. I usually prefer to eat dinner at local restaurants which i did one night. The second night I ate a Mulligans and it was good. It was full both nights and locals were eating and drinking there which is a good sign. The room had an outside entrance and an inside entrance which was unique but convenient. The room was spotless and well maintained. There is a big common area in the middle of the rooms which is enclosed. The heated swimming pool was clean. I was hopping for a whirlpool or spa but it was pool only. If I return, I will definitely book the BW Raton again.

Stayed on a business trip, hadn't been here in several years. The staff is still very friendly, the rooms are clean and reasonably priced, comfortable bed/bedding, and the hot/cold breakfast is much better than the normal hotel offering.

I stay at this hotel whenever I travel between Colorado and Texas. The staff is amazingly friendly. The accommodations are spectacular. Their breakfast is great and again their staff is amazing. I love the gift shop and the breakfast.

Great location, breakfast, and rooms! The rooms were clean and the beds were comfy. Mulligan's for dinner did not disappoint. Good food and a great atmosphere. I've stayed at Best Western Raton multiple times and each time it has been a great experience.

I highly recommend this hotel, we stopped here because of a snow storm, had not plan on stopping here, but we are glad we did, the entire stay was wonderful and relaxing. We will come here again when we pass through here

Great place to stay on your way to Denver. The food was excellent, the restaurant was cozy with a roaring fireplace at night-time. We had the Cowboys steak, Cobb salad and Fish. It was excellent. In the morning, Best Western provides a great hot buffet. Nice views from the windows as well. We always stay here and have recommended it to many friends.

If you are anywhere near Raton and need a place to stay, you will love this option! The rooms are large and clean, the beds are comfy, and the shower heads are high with great water pressure. You enter from the outside and can walk right through the room to access the indoor courtyard, which is a huge, climate- controlled space with pool and hot tub, plenty of grouped seating, and space for just about anything. Breakfast is the best self- serve breakfast we have encountered anywhere, and the food quality is right up there with places that provide table service. They have several hot options (including a fabulous green chile sauce for smothering your eggs, potatoes, or whatever), as well as a selection of cold options. Need to hit the road? They will provide to-go boxes. Let's not forget the staff - they are top-notch, friendly and professional. We have stayed here many times and have never been disappointed. The consistency of service and quality will keep us coming back.

Nice room with door to pool area, Great bar and restaurant, including breakfast. Beds were comfortable. Bath had extra towels and toiletries, There was an extra shelf unit in bath for you to use. Breakfast was hot and had many items. We enjoyed the open area by the pool to relax. Staff was friendly and accommodating. we have stayed here before and will again!

The room has an outside entrance so you can literally park right outside of your door. There is a door on the opposite side of the room to the indoor courtyard, where the pool is and easy access to the restaurant, front desk, and gift shop.

Nice friendly hotel. Rooms are very clean, accommodated our two dogs, and out trailer beautifully. We were worn out after a breakdown with our horses and the staff here helped us keep our sanity. Thank you

Wonderful, clean place to stay. The rooms were extremely clean. The staff as helpful and friendly. We ate at the restaurant and the food was good and reasonably priced. I would recommend this hotel to anyone!

Nicest hotel stay ever. Very clean and seemed new. Excellent customer service from the staff. Very large two room suite for the price. We even got a call after check in to see if we needed anything. Breakfast was excellent with an incredible amount of choices. Even real plates and silverware.

We stayed one night with our dog. The front desk folks were very nice and when I said I was a BW Rewards member, I received a discount, extra reward points and 2 bottles of water as a thank-you. So far so good. We were given a pet room in the annex area. They are older rooms, but a nice size. When we opened the door we were overcome with a strong deodorizer smell. The floor is tiled, which is great for a pet room, so not sure why it had to be sprayed so heavily. The furniture is well worn, so maybe that was sprayed. We discovered there was no shower curtain (!) so called the front desk and someone brought one over. The next morning we realized there was only one tiny bar of soap for the shower/bath. Period. No shampoo/condition/lotion, etc. Have never seen that before. We wanted to just shower and get on the road, so didn't call the front desk that time. Shouldn't have to for basic amenities anyway. Also noticed the door to the bathroom was coming apart at the bottom where the room had flooded at one time and the door had been sitting in water. The bed was awful. Like squeaky, caved in, awful. The a/c unit was loud and ran all the time. I put it on Auto hoping it might cycle on/off, but no. It was either on or off. I was tired and wanted air, so left it on but that thing was loud. An upside was the breakfast. It was wonderful with so many options. I read the reviews before booking and it sounded like a great hotel. Unfortunately, I think we were given "that" room and it seems housekeeping didn't finish their job that day. The room/bed/tub were all clean, but it was unfinished (shower curtain, soaps, etc.). We paid nearly $190 (with the discount!) and absolutely it wasn't a $190 experience. I can overlook some things with an older room like this, but there were just too many things that made it not a great stay. I wouldn't stay here again if I had other options. If I had to, I would inspect the room first before checking in. I generally like Best Westerns, but this in no way was a Best Western Plus level room.

Amazing food and incredible service. I had the beef tostados. They had amazing flavor, and the portions were good. My husband had the green Chille chicken alfredo, it need more sauce for sure. but what was there was very tasty.

This is my favorite Best Western. In fact, one of my favorite properties of any hotel. Well Run. Nice convenient rooms. Great staff, nice place to eat with really good food. I have stayhed here often and will again soon.

Nice hotel, great service. We were passing thru and decided to stay at this Best Western since we headed a gift card from the company. It seemed a little high in price, but we have absolutely no complaints. The hotel is arranged so that the rooms have 2 entrances, one to outside and one to the common area. The included full breakfast was very good also. Our room had 2 comfy queen beds, with a desk and an extra winged chair with a footstool. I have to commend the staff, esp Beatrice, who checked us in, on being so knowledgeable and helpful about the area. Would stay here again.

The Best Western Plus in Raton was awesome. It was a good value and it was much nicer than expected. What appears to be just an old style drive up motel actually has an interior courtyard with large common and pool where you can also go the restaurant/gift shop/front office area. Each room has a door to the parking lot and a door to this large courtyard. We will be staying here again when we pass through Raton.

Fantastic overnight stay with a dog. This hotel has a separate building for pet owners, which is quite spectacular. The room had tile floor, (easily cleaned if Fido has an accident) and the rooms were clean and bright. The rooms all had separate outdoor entrances which made it super easy with a pet. The staff all went above and beyond, from calling ahead to reserve, to having them help out making the next reservation for us for our next stop. Breakfast... Full breakfast! Burrito bar, pancakes, everything. Hot, fresh, amazing! I definitely recommend this hotel and would absolutely stay here again, with or without a pet.

This place was five stars all the way! Check-in was a breeze in the front desk girl was super nice and friendly. Our room was very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. What was neat about it is that you had an exterior door and an interior door. We got to park right outside our door, which made it super easy to bring our stuff in and out. We had a room in the back which overlooked a huge field and even saw some deer early in the morning. We even caught a hummingbird passing by. The pool area was really nice and part of the indoor courtyard. Breakfast was, really good with your choice of hot and cold items. The place had a bar and even a 24 hour sundries store. It is a little pricey compared to the other budget motels in the area but it is so worth it and I'm glad we stayed here.

Stopped here en route to Colorado, so just 1 night. Room was spotless, smelled great, and the bed was soooo comfortable. I also loved that the room had TWO entrances/exits. One from the outside/parking lot and one from the inside/pool and lounge area. When I checked in, we were told the hotel was booked completely, so to get to breakfast early if we could. Not that they would run out of food, but there's limited seating. And you can't go in and get food until there's an available table. I was worried the hotel Would be loud for a Saturday night. Nope, super quiet. Now breakfast, it was the best dang “free” breakfast that I've had while traveling! Great stay!

Didn't expect a place this nice in the small town of Raton. And I do mean NICE. Room was quiet, AC was quiet, beds were excellent, very safe, breakfast excellent. Highly recommend. Was so impressed to see a wheel chair lift by the pool!

The Best Western in Raton NM is a great place to stay. The Hotel is clean with very nice rooms. The staff checking in were very courteous, nice and helpful. The restaurant there was very good. Recommend the green chili Alfredo with Parmesan crusted chicken. We had a great stay and will stay there again when we are in the area

Very clean rooms; pretty good size! The indoor pool is WONDERFUL! Great for swimming laps; comfortable water temperature! ALL staff were very courteous and polite! Nice gift shop in lobby! EXCELLENT breakfast buffet!!

This former holidome property is immaculately restored and updated. And their customer service is fabulous. We worked with Matthew at the front desk. He was so great when it came to making sure our comfort was assured, and went the extra mile of remediating an issue we had with a previous reservation (all our fault, not his or BW). His confident resolution and friendly demeanor guaranteed that this is the property we will always come back to when in Raton.

We were heading back home to Colorado and broke up our trip in to manageable distances. Raton happened to fit the bill for us and the Best Western Plus was a pleasant surprise. It had a very unusual floor plan in that it had both outside and inside entrances. The inside led out to a giant indoor courtyard and right next to the indoor pool. We wondered what it would be like for the rooms' quiet if the pool saw a lot of activity in the evening. But that was not the case for us as there were only a few individuals using it around 8:30. We enjoyed the onsite restaurant as we did not want to head back out in the car after a 7 hour drive that day in pretty cold weather. The room layout was otherwise great and the internet worked well for us. I would definitely stay there again on any future road trips.

New everything, very comfortable non sagging beds, thin bed (important for me) pillows and bigger pillows, best green chile at breakfast, quiet, super clean, quiet HVAC, motel style parking, friendly and professional staff. I'll always stay here when possible.

Everyone was friendly from check in, to housekeeping, to restaurant staff. All the staff seemed happy and willing to assist. They have an outstanding gift shop. I did not use the pool this trip but it looked lovely and well maintained.

Pretty cool hotel. Doors to the room are on the outside of the building as well as inside! Pool is heated and indoors. Very quiet. Breakfast was the best hotel breakfast I've ever had. Pancakes are highly recommended.

We stay at this location every winter when we travel to Colorado. It's sometimes hard for a family of 4 with two dogs to find vacancy. This hotel never lets us down. The staff is very professional, rooms are always clean, and we love a hot breakfast! I have and will continue to recommend this for anyone traveling through Raton.

A very nice clean hotel with friendly staff, clean rooms and a great breakfast (really was, complete wit green chili and tortilas) I needed a dog friendly hotel, and they surpassed my expectation by a mile. It delighted me that The floor was tiled - I'll stay here again!

Unexpected When you think best western, do you think three stars are less. But this was an unexpected experience. The rooms were clean, well-kept and comfortable. The common areas were immaculate, well-maintained, and enjoyable. We had dinner at the restaurant and breakfast at the buffet all of which were above average and very nice. They called to ask if our room was ok and if we needed anything. Overall expected a three star experience received a five-star experience. 

Our suite room was very large and comfortable! Breakfast was awesome! Great value for a very pleasant stay. I had the impression that Best Western was a basic No-frills hotel. This one is definitely a step up!.

This hotel is a classic Best Western with a unique local design. Because they have a restaurant on the property, their breakfast (included in the stay) was served in a real dining room, using ceramic plates, metal utensils and real glasses. The food was fresh and cooked just right, with local New Mexican specialties too.

Overnight stay on our way north. This hotel has an interesting setup. From the outside it seems like a motel, with exterior doors to the room. What isn't obvious is that each room also has an interior door to an indoor courtyard where the pool is. The courtyard is nicely heated in the winter. Decent exercise room as well. Breakfast is buffet style again. No pancakes or waffles but makings for breakfast tacos and a variety of other standard fare. Room was clean with a good shower (hot and reasonably strong). Bed was also comfortable. The only real negative was the odd decision to put the bathroom on the one exterior wall meaning the bathroom itself is freezing cold.

Everything about this property is worthy of honorable mention. Comfortable beds, great tv channel selection, nice gift shop, one of the better hot breakfasts out there, nice lounge/restaurant with decent prices, good menu selection and great food and portions. Bathrooms are a bit dated. 5 plus stars overall!

The hotel design is out of the 80's. The pool in center court looks welcoming and the paint and flooring are up to date. The entire motel is well maintained. The rooms have been updated and are nice. The breakfast is a little bit above standard fare. The place felt nostalgic and I would stay there again.

We love staying at this BWP Raton Hotel. Hotel is nice. Our room is always clean. The restaurant is convenient and they serve the best food. Service is great during dinner and during the free breakfast which is a true breakfast. Bacon. Eggs. Tortillas. Potatoes. Oatmeal. Pancake made to order. Cereals. Pastries. Frosty beverages. Yogurt and Coffee. Comfortable beds and nice toiletries. Best place. Although I do wish they had some grass for our fur babies. But they do have a place for pets so we are good.

we were just passing before we go to Colorado Springs, for a competition and stayed in Raton. Very clean cozy hotel with amazing and tasty breakfast with REAL silverware.Thank you very much to the friendly staff!

We have to travel to Raton 1 or 2 times a year and the BW Plus Raton Hotel is truly our home away from home! Spacious and beautifully decorated rooms. A professional,friendly, and service dedicated staff. The best included breakfast buffet that I have ever enjoyed! I must mention the giant made to order pancakes and green chile I put on everything!!! I'm not exaggerating when I say the BW Plus Raton Hotel is our home away from home!

I love this place! Clean, friendly, and a great breakfast with a wonderful view from the breakfast area ....and incredible green chili to put on your eggs! I stopped early on my way home to stay here rather than miss that chili!

Best Western Plus in Raton was a delightful surprise. I had low expectations for a hotel in rural New Mexico but was pleasantly surprised to be wrong. Clean, quiet, friendly and very inclusive. No reason to leave the property. Very good food and reasonably priced right on site. Enclosed courtyard and pool area perfect for relaxing after a long day of traveling. We'll be back!

Great hotel in Raton . Rooms are immaculate and very comfortable .We stop here on a regular basis and always are equally if not more impressed than the time before. We travel with our dog and they welcome pets in some rooms and greet them with treats . They also have indoor heated pool that is amazing after a long day on the road . If your hungry or want a cocktail there is a restaurant to grab dinner.

Excellent Hotel in Raton. Clean and quiet when we stayed. We've been here multiple times and are always happy with out stay. The restaurant and bar is very good. Couldn't ask for a cleaner and spacious roon.

Love this hotel. The staff are super friendly, check in was fast, room was really clean, there is an inside pool/meeting area and the breakfast buffet is wonderful. This is the only hotel we stay at while stopping in Raton. Highly recommend this hotel.

Our room was comfortable & the staff was very friendly. The on-site restaurant was good & we were happy to not have to get back in the car to go out to eat. The internal courtyard is very nice & relaxing.

We stayed here again because we stayed last December and remember how great it was. It still is. We even got the same room right by handicapped parking. The room was neat & clean, and the A/C worked perfectly and quietly. The bed was oh so comfortable. The lobby is beautiful and the little shop is very nice. The free breakfast was plenteous and delicious. Matthew is a gem: efficient, courteous, and helpful. The restaurant he recommended was terrific. It definitely was a 5 star experience.

This hotel includes a restaurant, indoor court and pool. Building is a little aged. Wished they would check their appliances so we don't have to wait for maintenance to fix them. Breakfast is great and served on ceramic ware. Bed and pillows a little soft. Bathroom fan is loud.

This service with Ana, Lynda, and Christ is why we drove extra hours to stay 2 times in 2 weeks. Hotel is large. Great indoor pool, gift shop, restaurant, and breakfast buffet. Outer rooms are for pets. Clean and beds are comfy, We ate both nights at Mulligans on the property. No noise at night, so we rested well. It is very unfortunate that we could not check in until 4 p.m. on both stays. 3 p.m. was the latest in our 8 other stops at other Best Western. Seems that return guests who are weary from driving could be offered a clean room sooner. We checked in as early as 2 p.m. at others, or always by 3. This hotel does take points. You will want to use them as its rated was more than we paid in TX, WY, or MT.

We stayed here on a Saturday night returning to TX from CO. We read all the reviews and chose this BW despite it not being the cheapest in town. Check in was a breeze and the ladies were very helpful. Separate motel for travelers with dogs. We don't mind either way but I'm sure those with allergies appreciate. Breakfast was HOT food with made to order pancakes. Very good. Heated indoor pool which we did not use looked nice. The rooms have two entrances. One from the parking lot and one from the inside pool/courtyard. It was handy to load the car. We are adding this as our place to stay for future trips.

Clean and spacious with great amenities. A convenient hotel that has entrances to your room from the inside and outside. I liked the layout of the hotel. The breakfast was excellent and the staff friendly! They make fresh pancakes by order. The pool is indoors and was a nice temperature with towels and tables. We will definitely stay there again.

the pictures looked beautiful, but ultimately it was an old hotel that they spent too much money in the wrong renovations… now it's like an old lady wearing way too much makeup. the breakfast was powdered eggs, dried out frozen meats, acidic coffee, and freezer burnt breads and pastries. beautiful set up, but not so tasty. the bartender was unfriendly and unhelpful. lots of half assed amenities. not worth the overinflated price tag

This is a very clean facility. There was a group of young men polishing the kick plates when we arrived. They pay attention to details. The facility is clean and the staff are welcoming. Make sure you make time for the breakfast. It will surprise you.

Excellent accommodations. Beautiful indoor courtyard with pool. Excellent buffet breakfast with wide variety of selections including scrambled eggs, ham, sausage, potatoes, fresh green chili, juices, cold/hot cereals, and pancakes on request. Plus choice of breads and pastries. Very large clean comfortable room with most comfortable king bed. Bath/shower with rapid hot water. Everything worked the way it was supposed to.

Well trained, professional, friendly staff. Good restaurant so we didn't have to leave the property for dinner and a wonderful atrium with a salt water pool that helped get the kinks of all day driving out. Quiet, very clean comfortable room with a good bed. Highly recommend.

We stopped here after an exhausting day of driving, and what a wonderful find! We asked for a dog friendly room, which turned out to be in a separate wing of the property. My first response was 'oh no, they've stuck us in the old falling down part!' That has happened to us before. But not so - the only difference was that these rooms have no carpeting - what a smart idea for dogs! We hung out in the parking lot with neighbors with dogs, ordered really great Chinese food from Asian Buffet, and just generally enjoyed our visit. One caveat: we heard the best thing about breakfast was the homemade green chile ... but it has a pork base and we're vegetarian, so breakfast was only so-so. But other wise great stay.

NEVER NEVER NEVER again would we ever use this particular best western. I didn't use any website to book this reservation. I called them directly and asked for a king suite, (traveling with our 17 year old grandson) got there at 9pm called them twice throughout our drive from Az to let them know that we were still needing the room and not to give our reservation away. Got there, checked in and went to our room to find a DIRTY double queen. I called the front desk thinking that they would fix their mistake just to be told that they have nothing available. I explained that I booked for a different size room and certainly didn't want a dirty room only to be told "WE DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU HAVE BEEN DOING UP THERE" I let her know that we had checked in about 10 mins ago and haven't even brought in our luggage. "There is nothing they can do for us and that I can call in the morning and talk to their manager" I did ask for a discount BUT I decided not to call their manager and fight for that discount, I'll eat what I had to pay for I JUST WANT TO WARN OTHER TRAVELERS. One last note.....toilet overflowed on our 1st flush had to ask for a plunger.

I've been to this hotelman times since the early 1970's and these folks never disappoint. Great atrium with indoor pool The room was excellent and the king size be was really comfortable after our long drive.. Being handicapped the roll in shower was over the top. When we got there a couple of hours later the front desk called to see if everything was up to snuff. We said it is great and thank you for checking in on us old folks. The evening meal there was really tasty. The free breakfast was also really good and had lots of choices I just wish they had bacon but the ham was delicious. I will be back.

I've stayed at Best Westerns and other hotels all over the country. This property is top notch, Top five in my experience Guest service from the front desk to restaurant and even the pool is outstanding other properties could take lessons

The Best Western Raton Hotel rooms are impeccable. The staff service is top notch. The included breakfast buffet is the best of any hotel we've ever stayed at, my favorite is the green chile. We stop here every year and my family votes this the best hotel we stay at every year! We are already looking forward to next year, we love the Best Westen Plus Raton Hotel!!!

Very clean with comfortable beds and they had a great breakfast which was included! Staff was professional and helpful. They even allow pets in some rooms! We will definitely make this our go to stop when traveling through New Mexico. The rates are very competitive!

Best Western Plus is the best hotel in the Raton area. The rooms are clean, the staff is very friendly and helpful. They have a restaurant onsite open during dinner hours that has excellent food and a full bar! The hot "included" breakfast is wonderful. A good variety of food - all of it fresh! We drive through Raton every year heading to Colorado and we always stay at this hotel!

We travel through Raton each year and always stay at this Best Western. It's clean, has all desired amenities, the rooms are large and comfortable, staff friendly and efficient, and we feel our car is safe in their parking lot. Best place in the area.

Hotel is sufficiently comfortable for an overnight stop on a road trip. Rooms are clean, reasonably quiet and the sleep quality is good. The rooms have no outside windows, which gives the Hotel an odd appearance from the outside. There are two access doors for each room, one to the outside and one to the indoor courtyard. The windows face that court. This means that folks are walking past the windows all during the day and night. Keep your curtains tightly closed for privacy. The pool is on the far end of the indoor court and can make it quite noisy if used by a number of people. There is no hot tub. Access doors to the courtyard on the sides of the building are exit only. There are no room key readers to open these doors from the outside of the building. You can only access the courtyard and the courtyard side room entry ways via the front lobby area. There is another door that requires a room key to get into the courtyard from the lobby. Breakfast is served in the Hotel restaurant "Mulligan's". It is average buffet fare with hot and cold items. Price point in the summer is from about $153 to &180 plus taxes for a regular one or two bed room. (Senior & AAA rates are around the $153 range) The occupancy rate at the Hotel is pretty high during peak travel seasons. If you have time take two to four hours and visit Capulin Volcano National Monument.

We have stayed at BW Raton several times over the last 4 years as we drive from Texas to Denver, it is a good “stop for the night” place. Dinner at Mulligans is quick and filling. Breakfast is basic but good. Easy access to and from the interstate/highway as well. Friendly service, clean rooms, comfy beds!

We travel from Dallas to Co. frequently and always stop at this hotel. It is so nice and always immaculate . The staff are wonderful and we look forward to staying here with our dog knowing we are safe and will get a great nights rest and enjoy dinner and breakfast as well.

We rode in on our motorcycles at 8:30. The front desk staff were very kind and helpful. The room was very clean. I really like the covered courtyard with the pool and hot tub (though we did not use them). I would gladly stay there again.

I was impressed at how clean the room was. The hotel staff were all very professional and friendly. The on site restaurant was a bit pricy and the food was mediocre but the wait staff were great. I would stay there again.

This was a very nice spot to stop, just off I-25 in northern New Mexico. The receptionist was very pleasant, the room was spacious and clean and, for me, one of the nicest things about this hotel was the in-house restaurant and bar, So once you're there you don't really need to get into your car until you're ready to leave. The food was good, but not fantastic, but it beat trying to find another place to eat.

Only pet friendly rooms were available but we were so pleased at the cleanliness! The hot breakfast was wonderful with such variety from yogurt and muffins to more filling options of oatmeal & burritos.

Impressive, clean, comfortable, quiet - has it all. Staff are as personable, courteous and professional as can be. Rooms are very spacious and quiet. There's a restaurant, full bar, fitness center, indoor saltwater pool, guest laundromat and a gift shop on the premises! Don't even have to leave the hotel. I loved it here. Going back every time through here!

Nice room , nice lobby , but after setting up my laptop and accessing the hotel's wifi , I was in for a big disappointment! Could hook up to their wifi , no problem , but no internet! I operate a small business , and when I'm on the road , a good internet connection is a must - This place didn't have it! Clerk called to ask how the room was , I told her the room was fine , but no internet , she said she'd have someone look into it , it never got any better - She was of the opinion that if you had a cell phone , you didn't need internet,,, Very disappointed

Nice, comfortable facility, professional helpful staff. I appreciated accommodations for my family to use the open space for an evening meal. The location is perfect, close to everything. This has become our go-to stop when we are in Raton.

Matthew was wonderful! We actually booked our room with him and then he also checked us in. He was incredibly thorough when he checked us in and also went over all the details of the room, internet, pool and restaurant. After we got to our pet friendly room, Matthew called us to make sure we had everything we needed. The pool was perfect to wear our kids out after a long car ride. The restaurant had great food choices. The breakfast was amazing and gets delivered to you in the morning, doesn't get better than that! The pet friendly room was great and very clean. Everything about our stay was exceptional and we will definitely be back again!

Nothing about this hotel disappoints. From the caring, friendly staff when you walk into the lobby, to the clean well appointed rooms and the interior restaurant/bar. Food was great. Room service for breakfast was timely and served hot.

My family and I was stranded in Raton when I 25 shut down due to the weather. We were very happy upon checking into this hotel because it was clean and staff was really pleasant. I would recommend this motel to any other travelers. I'm thankful that we found it.

I've stayed here for many many years and its always the same experience, very professional and spotless clean. Food and drinks are great, just a very comfortable place to be. I grew up in Northern New Mexico and remember this hotel as a kid, of course since then its changed a name or two, but its always been the place to stay. Best in town

Old-style park by door hotel. Comfortable beds and a good night's sleep. Good TV and wifi. Excellent corona-avoidance procedures with minimal face-to-face contact. We ordered breakfast from a limited menu which was then delivered to our room. Food was delicious, which is seldom the case in this type of hotel. Highly recommended!

The Best Western in Raton, NM is always a pleasant place to stay. Everyone we've encountered has been friendly, helpful, and efficient. Probably the main we like it so much is their Mulligan's Restaurant/Lounge. Everything we've had there has been great. We've especially enjoyed the Cowboy steak, Countr-fried steak, and Fried ravioli. The lounge/bar area has good ambiance and drinks and seems to be a gathering place for locals as well as tourists. We've always enjoyed staying here. This is a good place to stop if you are going to be in Raton.

Have stayed @ this property multiple times. The entire staff is outstanding. The restaurant is wonderful, both food & service. They bring breakfast to the room, hot & fresh. A wonderful response to Covid I hope they continue.

Great place to stay; prices are reasonable, service is excellent as are the rooms and service. Breakfast was amazing! The room was clean and the gift shop was really nice with many local/area artists.

Not the newest or nicest but worth the money. The bed was comfortable, the room was big and clean, Mulligan's is great, and the staff is friendly and helpful. If you travel with pets ask for a 2nd floor room. They have a separate building for guests with pets and the floors are tiled in those rooms. I stayed on the 1st floor and could hear every move the people above me made.

Superb accommodations. Plush towels, great room. Fantastic breakfast delivered to the room. Loved the little doggie area. The staff was super nice! We even found the cleaning crew super nice (we were early for check in). I can't tell you how great we found the room. They put the “best” in Best Western.

This best western is terrific starting with the check-in staff, the very clean well appointed large room, to the tailor made breakfast delivered at your door in the morning by a very pleasant person. Very comfortable king size bed.Our room opens to the outside where our car is parked, and has door on the other side of the room that opens into a large inside open area with a saltwater pool. We have traveled literally thousands of miles in the west and southwest over the past several months and this is the first time in a motel that has not only delivered breakfast to a room, but a breakfast with eggs, potatoes, muffins, cereal, really the old style kind that R hard to find even and non-Covid times.

If I could give 6 stars I would. This places has it all together. Our room and stay was faultless. Staff was friendly - even calling a bit after we checked in to be sure the room was satisfactory. Checkin was quick and easy. We loved that the gift shop was open 24 hrs with free coffee and tea. The room was spotless, fresh, and had NO SMELLS of any kind - even cleaning supplies. It had a space for 2 suitcases and plenty of plugs and charge stations for our electronics. THE best part was 2 doors to the room. GENIUS! There was an outside door for loading and unloading and an inside door to the courtyard for access to the lobby and restaurant without going outside. I don't know who thought this but it was wonderful. The TV was large. The beds were very comfortable. We ordered breakfast and it was delivered on time and was hot and good. We are picky travelers - having traveled the world - and this was a wonderful surprise. Kudos to this staff and BW.

Great hotel, our favorite stay while visiting Raton. The amenities are perfect for a short stay, great location for us while traveling from Fort Worth to Northern Colorado. The staff is very accommodating!

I stayed here overnight during a two day driving trip. The property surprised me in a good way. I would definitely stay here again, as it's very easy access to the interstate and gas stations. The room was very clean and it was very quiet, which allowed me to get the rest I wanted. There's an indoor heated pool which looked enticing, but I was more interested in sleep. I felt the bed was comfortable and the room was clean. It appeared to me it may have possibly had a renovation recently, but not sure. It was a nice room. The room had access doors to outside as well as to the indoor area where the pool was. There was a very nice bar/restaurant inside with a really good looking menu. I didn't eat there, as I had already made other plans, but would definitely try it next trip. Parking was easy. Overall, it was a good stay for a good price and I would stay here again.

What a pleasure to find a clean, comfortable, well-run hotel with Covid. The staff was so helpful and engaging. We had a two-queen room on the lower level with parking outside and another door opening into the pool atrium. Dinner was at the bar/restaurant on site... convenient and plenty of space. Breakfast was ordered by phone in the morning and promptly delivered to our room... a great concept without a crowded breakfast room. Highly recommend!

This Best Western was the best one we have every used. Exceptional breakfast, delivered to your room at your convenience. We love the sink being separate from the toilet/shower area. The beds were quite comfortable, the staff very helpful and friendly. Great shower pressure and lots of hot water.

Don't let the unassuming exterior of this Best Western deter you from staying here! The interior lobby is clean and classy and includes a gift shop, restaurant, courtyard, pool etc. Pet friendly rooms have tile floors and pet area is burr free. Breakfast is delivered to your room from the choices you select on a handout after calling it in that morning.

We stayed in one of the hotel's pet friendly room. We didn't feel it was advertised. However, the room was clean and the staff was friendly. Being on the "pet friendly side" of the facility meant that at night there was a symphony of dogs barking late into the night. Luckily our dog did not join in on the song of her people. The room needed minor repairs. The in room breakfast delivery did make the mediocre breakfast very satisfying. This was not a horrible hotel....however, I will not be returning to this location.

We had a great stay! Everyone was very friendly. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Beds felt nice. Laundry was helpful. We loved relaxing in the pool! One thing to note: these rooms are unique in that they are a hotel/motel combo. Each room has a front door and a back door. Front door opens to the inside of the hotel commons. Back door opens to the parking lot. Also, the adjoining doors are not well insulated. We had a screaming baby next door that kept us up most of the night.

The staff was all super friendly. The rooms were very clean and the breakfast delivered to our room was delicious. The beds were very comfortable and we slept well. It was also pretty cool to wake up and see the deer outside in the parking lot

One of the best Best Westerns we have ever stayed at. The layout of the hotel was excellent. An outside door opened next to your car for easy unloading, and there was an additional door on the other side of the room that led to an inside hallway overlooking the pool, conference area, etc. The room was clean, large, had a comfy chair and ottoman, and the refrigerator got our drinks really cold. They had an on-site restaurant and bar with good food. For breakfast you selected what you wanted and they delivered it to your room hot. An exceptional find on our way north to Montana!

As usual our accommodations met and exceeded our expectations. We started out with drinks and dinner at the onsite restaurant (very COVID friendly), sat by the indoor pool and had a glass of wine before turning in. Our room was very comfortable, linens were like new and the best part was breakfast was delivered to our room. Doesn't get any better

Our road trip was taking it's toll but the drive through Raton Pass was scenic and we decided to call it a day. Our arrival at the hotel was met with gracious and efficient front desk staff. We stayed one night and would definitely stay again. Cleanliness is at the top of my must have list and BW+Raton ticked all the boxes, beds comfortable and a/c worked well.

We chose this place for the area and golf course. A nice nine holes and Free golf with your hotel receipt! We had a room on the bottom floor so we could park at our door. There was an interior door also the went to the atrium area and pool, so relaxing! We already recommended this location to our friends and will stay here again. .Having the breakfast delivered to our room was very nice!

Room was everything anyone could ask for. Very clean, quite, and breakfast delivered to your door which was an excellent meal. Staff was very helpful and pleasant. Would definitely stay here again. and is the best hotel in town.

4 of us spent 1 night on a road trip. We loved the indoor pool! Instead of going out, we had take-away from the restaurant on site. The food was good & the convenience was better. The room was clean, beds were comfy, water pressure was pleasing. Overall a great stay.

The facility, like many others, was clean and well maintained, but the staff were simply beyond any expectation....they went out of their way to make sure that we had an enjoyable stay. We accidently left two very important items in our room and the staff located them and when we called they were already preparing to send the items to our home. Simply cannot ask for better service.

Tried to make reservation on phone with BW reservations. Girl quoted $170 and tax. After giving credit card she summarized bill for $230! I cancelled. She was very pushy to find another place I declined. She stated she only could get the total as she was finalizing reservation. Got to hotel and got a room for $173 including tax. Room was dark as there is only 1 window opening to an inside indoor courtyard. Thin walls allowed noise from adjoining rooms. When the hotel restaurant (Mulligans) opened an unpleasant smell was in the corridor by restaurant. Really worth $100/ night.

We've stayed at this hotel a few times over the past few years. This time, we were disappointed. Our room (suite) was so dark that we had trouble getting into it. The light switch at the door turns on a dim light. Then we had to blindly search for a lamp that lit another small part of the room. Then tyring to find our way into the bedroom was even more difficult. Finally, we stumbled upon a nightstand with another dim lamp. Next was the bathroom where there were more light switches than lights. There were two lights over the mirror, but only one worked. After all of that, we went to the restaurant where we sat at the bar. Two guys nearby were in a loud discussion laced with 4-letter words for at least 30 minutes. Finally, they left. We got so-so service from the inattentive bartender. We're done with this place.

Stayed 4 nights while in Raton. Hotel experience was excellent. Room was clean and comfortable. Front desk staff were professional, friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking. Hot breakfast delivered to your room quickly, once ordered. Coffee and tea available in lobby 24/7. There is a restaurant onsite for dinner, which was very good.

VERY family and dog friendly. It was our pit stop from Montana to Texas and we were pleasantly surprised! Staff were extremely friendly and efficient. About 20 minutes into getting settled in our room, the front desk called to make sure we had everything we needed. The rooms were spotless and clean! The kids had a great time in the pool and made lots of friends to play with! We will definitely be staying here again on our next road trip.

I honestly couldn't have been more surprised at the high quality of this hotel and its staff. Check-in was a breeze. The room was extremely clean and welcoming and the hotel has a heated, indoor, saltwater pool. We all decided as a whole that we will stop in Raton again because the hotel was so enjoyable.

Despite the name, this motel has little in common with other BW Plus hotels. According to the BW website, "our upper-midscale Best Western Plus hotels focus on providing guests with that little something extra. Here travelers will enjoy all the features and services of Best Western, along with upgraded amenities, higher-quality furnishings and enhanced style and comfort." While the check-in area is really, really nice, the rooms leave much to be desired. The low ceilings and stale smell are a reminder of the building's age. There was nothing in the room that screamed "upper-midscale"––and in fact I found the amenities and furnishings to be very average. Having paid more than $200 for a room for one night, I expected a little better. My recommendation: unless you find an amazing deal, save your money and go elsewhere.

The hotel was clean and Marsha at the front desk was outstanding! That was it, the service was horrible. Ordered room service and after an hour called to see where it was and was told they already delivered? The front desk argued the point and huffed and puffed and then 15 minutes later there was our room service. No apologies, no accountability. We loved Best Western but they are aging poorly and not putting any money into there hotels? They were all nice 15 years ago. We have been a Best Western family and are now jumping ship! Bye!

Rooms were clean and nice. We stayed in the pet friendly area. All tile floors was a nice touch for the room to feel clean. Really enjoyed our room and loved having an option to bring our dogs. Would definitely recommend.

We had an unhappy person check us in. We called ahead of time to inform the hotel that our shuttle was leaving for Philmont at 6:15 am ( a standard pick up time in Raton). I asked for an early hot breakfast time and was told a manager would call me back - they never called back. When I arrived I was told that we would be given a water, NutriGrain bar and piece of fruit. I asked if we could have a danish or other item that didn't need to be cooked and was told no. We decided to stay at a nicer hotel to have better amenities. I would suggest that you stay at the Super 8 in Raton - it would cost less and the breakfast is probably better. Very disappointed yes by a hotel that is unwilling to be flexible with a group which most likely provides the main revenue in Raton.

we stay here when we travel from Texas to Colorado. Convenient location, has a bar and restaurant, excellent service, clean rooms, safe area. We don't have little kids anymore, but they would love the interior pool.

We stayed at this hotel on our way to Phoenix, AZ. We had a King bed suite with sofa bed and it worked perfectly for our one night stay. The bedroom is separated from the living room area by a wall with no door, so it doesn't provide a separate bedroom but does provide a little separation from the sofa area, which worked well since we were traveling with our teen daughter and her best friend. The bathroom was huge and had the largest and cleanest tub I've ever seen in a hotel. Due to Covid, the hotel provides call in room service for breakfast and it's free! We were able to order a full hot breakfast of eggs, juice, sausage, coffee, fruit and pastries and it was all delivered to our room within 5-10 minutes of ordering. The pool was not open, but was still maintained inside the atrium and was very clean and appealing, even though we couldn't use it. All in all, this was a very nice hotel and we would stay here again if traveling through New Mexico.

We stayed in a King Suite, with a king bed and sleeper sectional sofa separated by a wall but still open to the bedroom part. The huge bathroom had a large shower AND a soaking tub, and double vanity; not compartmentalized though. The hotel room had 2 doors, one to the parking area and one to the interior court area where the indoor heated saltwater pool is located. It was just the two of us but this would have been an awesome place to stay with a couple of kids who would love the pool and their own tv to watch from the sleeper sofa made into a bed. Raton is convenient to Capulin Volcano National Monument, as well as the Enchanted Circle destinations in NM and points beyond in CO. The value is excellent and so is the quality of the room. Yes, you can probably find a cheaper room, but you would sure enjoy this one at this Best Western.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was very dark, and not enough lighting in the bathroom :( They had a very nice dog relief area, sheltered with large boulders to keep you pups safe.

Very clean and very swanky for Raton… the pool is still not open due to covid restrictions which is really disappointing at this point. Other than that, the front desk staff were helpful and very friendly, the rooms were clean, and the lounge/ bar was very nice.

Great location in Raton. If you are traveling from Texas to Colorado this is a great place to stop and stay the night. The hotel is not new, but it is in great condition and very clean. Restaurant/bar on site, which also delivers breakfast food in the morning. Also has a little gym which is nice. Nice staff. Pool was closed, unfortunately. This is an "atrium" style hotel with the pool in the common area in the middle.

The hotel was exceptional. The service was great , the room was really nice and was very clean, the beds very comfortable,they followed the CDC guidelines, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful , and the food was delicious. We definitely recommend them for your stay.

Among the hotel choices in Raton, this place has to be the best. The attention to detail and cleanliness is A++. The front desk staff is extremely attentive, friendly and courteous. We had a pet room that was very clean and updated...everything in working order. The shower was good and beds comfortable. The only complaint would be no power outlet on the nightstand in case you need to charge your phone and also have it nearby when sleeping. The food from the restaurant was excellent! Breakfast consisted of several hot and cold choices all brought to your room as part of your stay. We will definitely return!

I love that they accommodate dogs, that they are super clean, that they are managing HOT breakfast even during COVID, that they have a huge indoor atrium for cold and rainy days (so kids can still be active), that they have a restaurant/bar with lots of choices; and I love the staff for going the extra mile with a smile.

The service and food were fantastic. I loved that the restaurant brought our food to our room. The food was very good. The mashed potatoes were real! We had a clean and spacious room. We slept well in comfortable beds.

Have stayed here a couple of times on travel from Dallas to Colorado destinations. Most recent stay was during COVID and although that limited some of their available amenities, the hotel was still an incredible value. Well layed out and maintained room, very clean and well taken care of common facilities, nice restaurant/bar, and all staff is helpful and friendly. We had a couple of small issues (did not apply a coupon at first, slow restaurant service, and forgot one item at breakfast). Each issue was quickly remedied and the staff genuinely wanted to make sure each issue was taken care of timely and appropriately. I will take that level of effort and experience anyday. Will stay at this hotel every time we need a stop-over on our travels on this route, especially considering the reasonable price of a night's stay.

Great trip to visit friends. Room was clean and comfortable. Had a minor issue with the mattress that was resolved in 15 minutes! The manager and staff were so accommodating to our needs. We will be back!

The Best Western Plus in Raton, NM was a great stay! Our room in the annex was exceptionally clean, with updated fixtures and dog-friendly tile flooring. It was quiet and well lit outside too. Loved it!

BW Raton is a great place to stay! The staff is friendly, welcoming, and professional - even with masks on! Even with COVID going on, you can still have a hot breakfast (delicious sausage/eggs/cheese/much more) delivered to your room (although I sure miss the pancakes!) They love pets and have nice area to take them out and provide them treats upon arrival too. The Gift Shop has some incredible jewelry and one of a kind gifts - - or for yourself! They may charge a bit more than some, but many perks for those $$.

We were traveling w our black lab to Salida for a ski vacation. Upon check in we were given a little packet w a doggie biscuit which our dog was very pleased with. The pet rooms are located in the annex building and ours was on the bottom floor (305) where we could back right up to the door. The room was tiled and had no lingering scent of dogs at all. The green area for pets was nice but connected to it was a beautiful field of several acres. This gave my lab an opportunity to run til her heart was content. Due to Covid our free breakfast was delivered to the room. It was hot and delicious. We chose the makings for breakfast burritos with hash browns. Because of such a wonderful pet friendly hotel-which allows Large Dogs ( you can have two dogs in your room) we will consider more trips to Colorado in the future.

We only stayed for one night but it was a nice clean hotel and the customer service was great. It has a heated pool, it was closed because of COVID, but I think it's be great for a future trip. I really enjoyed our stay.

The suite was spacious and clean. Breakfast, due to the virus, was brought to our room, free of charge. We ordered it off a menu and it was great! The woman, at the front desk, whose name was Marriah, was wonderful--so very pleasant, welcoming and helpful. She is a keeper!

This hotel was clean, convenient, reasonable priced, and super pet-friendly. The entire staff made us, and our 5 month Lab puppy feel very welcome. Their COVID protocol could not have been better. Even though their restaurant was closed to dine-in service, they were still operating as room service for dinner and breakfast. The Best Western Raton is a wonderful place to stay!

I am a New Mexican who has spent time in just about every part of my home state but for me, Raton is usually just a pit stop on the way to/from Colorado. I've stayed here when winter snow storms, blistering summer heat, or a chorus of kids saying “Are we there yet?” made that the wise thing to do. Today's stop was one of those kind of stops, but with a deja vu. What is now the Best Western Plus is an impeccably maintained 60/70s era gem (an old Holidome) that belongs on the historical register. Exceptionally good customer service; large,clean,comfortable rooms; and an obvious effort to comply w COVID best practices makes this a place I will definitely stop again. Two nights next time to see what else I've missed when I've been too focused on where I am going to notice where I am. And thanks to the previous reviewers who brought me here.

We were traveling across the country and a snowstorm hit and we ended up here. The staff was awesome. We ended up staying for two nights because of the weather. It was perfect because they have a restaurant on site. Everyone was great! We got down the road and couldn't find my husbands glasses. Called and they sent them to us. Would definitely recommend this hotel!

We chose this hotel last minute. We tried another down the road but no one was at the front office so we drove to BW. We had absolutely zero problems during our stay. The room was immaculate and after we were settled in, the front desk called to see how we liked the room. We've never had that at other hotels. If we pass through Raton, NM again, we will definitely be staying here.

Remember customer service? Well they do at Raton. They were awesome and catered to all of our needs. The room was very clean and very comfortable for our 1 night stay when passing through town. The pricing was certainly reasonable as well. I highly recommend anyone passing through this area to consider staying here if you need a room.

We drove from the Dallas area and spent the night here. I've spent many nights here through the years and was not disappointed. The place us immaculate, beds very comfortable and restaurant good very good and the price is right.

The Best Western Plus in Raton, NM was amazing for the one night that we stayed there. The staff at the front desk were very nice and helpful. Although the outside of the hotel seems old, the rooms are immaculate and nicely decorated. We ordered room service and the food was surprisingly good, although a little expensive but not more than other hotels. They also delivered breakfast for free due to COVID restrictions, so that was a big plus.

Have stayed in this property a number of times over the years. It is one of my favorite properties for a number of reasons. First is location. The mountains are waiting for me. And then there is the wonderful staff. Always professional and courteous, willing to help with any and all needs. The way the kitchen has handled the Covid (i hate that word) situation is remarkable. Finally, the restaurant is outstanding. I will be back.

Stayed here one evening but wish it was longer. What a fabulous and rare find. Marsha checked us in and was by far the friendliest and most efficient check in process I've come across. This hotel is clean and really worked through pandemic so well. Ate dinner in Mulligans on site and was the best fish and chips I'd had since leaving the UK 7 years ago!! SO had the fried chicken and he loved it. Breakfast - hot - was offered and delivered to our room in the morning. A great selection including tortilla, hash browns, green chili, eggs etc. Whoever is managing this hotel is doing a super job. We didn't use the pool but it looks like the rest of the hotel - first class. Highly recommend this hotel.

Traveling on a bike across country is difficult, but was turned away by an older woman who obviously made up her mind at first sight. I spent three weeks traveling across the country in June. This is the only negative experience I had. The night manager was an older woman who stopped me before I could even ask....no rooms...she said. Now, before you think I'm rough around the edges or gave the wrong impression, I ride a very nice BMW touring bike, am well groomed and am in my mid 50's. I stayed in a number of beat westerns across the country and this was absolutely not what I expected. Unfriendly manager, if she hasn't been fired. Another Best Western in Colorado is pictured below, but seriously....plenty of rooms and maybe 10 cars in the lot, but no room for one more person.

Would recommend for any travelers staying in the area. I researched several places in the area and this one lived up to the reviews. Very clean. They are definitely taking the pandemic seriously. Staff were very helpful. Great breakfast, which was delivered to the room since they cannot serve via a buffet at the moment.

Staff was really friendly and room was very clean. It is was easy pull off in my big moving van! The hotel was well lit and felt very safe for a single woman like me traveling alone. When I come through Raton again, this Best Western Plus will be my hotel!

I love this hotel. The staff is invariably pleasant and helpful, the rooms always neat, clean and well appointed, the store full of lovelies, and the restaurant can cook salmon properly and serves a mean Merlot. The indoor pool area is so unique. I have never had a bad experience at this BW.

This hotel is absolutely beautiful (we love the statue in the lobby) and the staff is excellent. If we are anyplace close we go the extra mile to stay here. Covid put extra restrictions this trip but they arranged for breakfast to be delivered to our room.

I passed through here on my way to Colorado from Texas. This place and the staff impressed me enough I changed my return trip route to stay here over other hotels. The location is very easy to find and convenient to the highways. Excellent team - particularly Daniel at the Front Desk. They have adjusted for the pandemic better than any other hotel I've seen or heard about. They had a super clean lobby, all staff/guests were masked and they provided a written explanation in the room (laminated so it can be cleaned) detailing how they are protecting guests and their staff. The first time I was here in July, Daniel at the Front walked me through the new procedures. I was tired and hungry from travelling, but he was really patient and explained everything perfectly. I had a great room on ground floor with a front door to the parking lot, and a back door opening to the hotel's guest area (closed due to covid) where the restaurant and pool are located. Their restaurant is not open for dining, but you can call in an order for breakfast room service at no extra charge. It arrived very fast. A menu was provided at check in. They say it is a limited menu, but it was real, hot food in generous portions: eggs, tortillas, cheese, pastries, some meat selections, fruit, juices, etc. To Go bags are also available in the lobby. In the evening, you can also order dinner served in your room. It is worth saying that the restaurant staff were fast and the food was fresh. I had a hot pizza in 15 minutes delivered to my door. They also had pastas, salads sandwiches, appetizers etc. Nice menu, given everything going on. Overall, this was a great place and I will absolutely return!

We traveled 8,000 miles in a 6 week period. We went from the east coast to the Rockies. This hotel was the best. Super clean, roomy, comfortable, quiet, and has a relaxing atmosphere. It is conveniently located for both town and the highway. An absolute must stay if you're in the area.

Allot of hotels need to take notice on how this place does buisiness and attention to detail. I've stay here before and will continue to. Rooms were spotless and dated. Housekeeping takes pride you can tell. Front desk always professional and friendly and we'll informs you on all items. Because of cv19 the breakfast is delivered to your room, eggs, hashbrowns,sausage etc. what a treat!! I've got well over 1000 stays in lifetime and wish they all were like this place. Keep up the great work and thank you!!

Stayed at this hotel last night. Excellent choice. Clean, comfortable room. Friendly staff. Plus they give you a breakfast menu and you order in the morning and they bring it to your room. Will make this a regular choice on our Texas-to-Colorado trips.

We were reassured from the moment we checked in: staff in masks, distanced. Informative, and welcoming. Parking directly outside the room door is very desirable. The room immaculate, quiet heat/AC, bathroom large and well appointed. Dinner from their in-house restaurant Mulligan's delivered to our room promptly (staff in masks and gloves) and was delicious, reasonably priced. We ordered from the hot breakfast menu (included in the room rate) and again, delivered safely and delicious. THE most comfortable, safest, and accommodating motel on our 4 night cross country trip during the uncertainty of this virus epidemic. .

Stayed here during coronavirus lockdown and was impressed with their protection measures for us and the staff. Had dinner catered to the room and a bag breakfast to-go in the morning. It is a comfortable older remodeled place.

Traveling during the corona virus pandemic was very stressful but the Raton, NM Best Western could not have been any better. Clean and safe. This location turned their on site restaurant into Takeout/ Room service for guests. The special menus were available for dinner and breakfast. The rooms included a letter from management stating all the extra measures that they were employing to keep guests and staff safe. Best night we had on the road. Snow birds headed home to Michigan.

We stayed overnight at BW+ Raton on our way to ski in Colorado. We had our 2 dogs traveling with us and finding a place to stop that welcomed pets was becoming difficult. We were looking for a place very late that night. We were lucky to find this Best Western. Ruth quickly found us a pet-friendly room and it was extremely clean and comfortable. The breakfast had lots of choices and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I had an issue with my bill that I reviewed a month later; and to be honest, I think I didn't click on the correct rate while trying to find a room so late at night. Ruth and Adrian were kind and helped me correct my mistake. If you need a comfortable, inviting place to stay in the area, look no further than this Best Western!

This Best Western Motel is one of the nicest Best Western motels I have stayed at. The staff was courteous and very accommodating. This will become one of our regular stops when traveling through New Mexico.

I don't understand why this motel is called Plus. It has an attractive lobby but the rooms are not that nice. It is an old style motel with outside doors.The door to the outside stuck. Then there was the door to the adjoining room which we would have declined had we been asked. Then there was a door to the vast open courtyard (very strange). The people were very gracious though especially the check in person and the breakfast host. However, even though this was well into the Coronavirus era, they had no hand sanitizer and breakfast was still being served buffet style.

What a great place. New owners, great rooms, clean, quiet, and THE most pleasant staff I have ever encountered. The ladies who run the front desk and the restaurant are lovely; always joyful and very helpful. This Best Western is really the BEST!

This hotel was really very nice, both the building itself, and the quality of the staff. The room was very big and the bed was excellent. It was also very quiet. It has a very nice indoor courtyard with an indoor pool. It also has an excellent restaurant, called Mulligans. It looked in excellent condition, so is obviously well-managed. It would make sure to stay there again if in the area. It was quiet at this time of year, but I was told it gets packed in the summer.

I have stayed here many times and it never disappoints. The service is exceptional, the food in great, the rooms are perfect and it is a pleasant overall experience every time. The desk people go out of their way to welcome you and they even call your room after check-in to make sure you are happy. I actually make my travel plans to include this stay if at all possible. Generally reservations are not necessary.

Excellent place to stay. Ground floor room with inside and outside doors. The lobby is nicely decorated. The Bar Dining Room serves good food and drinks. An everything in one location place you don't often find in a small town.

My buddies and I booked King Suites at this hotel for a recent Guided Elk Hunt in the Raton area. The rooms were outstanding and very large. My king suite had a seperate seating area, comfy chairs and couch, complete with wifi, a refrigerator and microwave. My bedroom was very comfortable as was the king sized bed. The bathroom was oversized with a very deep bath tub, free standing shower and double sinks. The room also had a coffee maker, although I just walked up to the front desk and got fresh brewed coffee for free. The rooms also came with two exit doors. One exit door took us directly outside to our free parking lot while the other exit door took you to the inside pool and walkways up to the front desk, all from "inside". This hotel also had a very good restaurant and bar located inside of it, with I noticed was used by the local crowd as much as by other travelers. This was an excellent hotel and one I would recommend as one of the best in town.

This is a unique hotel with distinctive & unique architecture and craftsmanship. The attached bar and restaurant served a great dinner and the breakfast was by far the best 'free breakfast' we've ever had. The gift shop has some very nice items.The staff is very attentive and helpful.

This hotel is an upscale Best Western. Very nice with great bar and restaurant. Wonderful service and has room to stretch out after a long travel day. The location is conveniently placed in a lovely town just south of the pass to Colorado.

I can't say enough about how great our stay was. The staff was extremely courteous and accommodating. We requested a rollaway late and it was waiting in our room when we got there. Bar was great and the bartenders were very nice. Breakfast was really good too. Very clean rooms and the heated indoor pool and atrium area were perfect for the kids to burn off road trip energy. We travel this route a couple times a year and we'll be stopping here from now on. Thanks for a relaxing stay.

Our room was not available when we arrived as the past guests had smoked in the room and they were in the process of airing it out. They did not have another room available so we went into the bar/restaurant and waited for a couple of hours. We were not recognized as rewards members. We had to go to the front desk to check out instead of them leaving it under our door.

Highly recommend! Updated, comfortable and inviting. 2 queen bed option for families is a plus. Breakfast was good, all the staff was very nice. Overall a great place to stop thru. Will definitely make it our go to place from now on.

This hotel has the best breakfast around. Customer service is wonderful. We stay here a few times a year and have never been disappointed. They have a nice pool area as well. Have never had a bad experience here.

We planned on driving through to Amarillo and then we had 2 tires on our trailer blow out! We pulled into Ratan safely and quickly booked accommodations. The staff were very helpful while we unpacked a bunch of stuff and fealty with the trailer. The next morning was a slow roll out with having to change our tires and re pack. Staff was sweet and understanding. What solace from a hard day in the road with a couple of kids. The hot breakfast was so nice and the coffee was really good. Beds were comfy and everything was clean.

Room was comfortable-check in was easy and fast check in-breakfast was outstanding! Real china and silverware (not paper plates or plastic ware!). The room was clean and attractive and the bed was comfortable

Rooms are always clean and neat. Bed and pillows are softer than I prefer but bedding is clean and fresh. Good variety for breakfast set up and pancakes cooked to order. One of the nicer Best Westerns we have stayed at. We were travelling with family and they accommodated us with adjoining rooms.

Usually we make the 10-11 hour from from Ruidoso to Ft Collins but this trip we had to go to Las Cuces for a doctor appointment so we decided to stay in Raton. I am pleased I had an opportunity to stay. Now I may decide to stay in Raton a time or two because of your hotel.The breakfast was great also.

I stayed here for a conference in the area. From the outside, it looked like an average motel. I was pleasantly surprised to find an updated pleasant hotel with a clean lobby, restaurant, indoor pool area and lounge area, and clean and comfortable room. The restaurant had great food and great service.

The Best Western was a nice hotel. I was traveling with my small dog so I had a pet friendly room. The floors are tile which is a huge benefit when pets are involved. The rooms were nicely decorated, very, very clean, and the beds/pillows were comfortable. This hotel was more expensive than the others in town but well work the extra money, in my opinion. I would stay here again.

The rooms are perfect... ours had a door to the outside parking lot and a door to the inside lobby/pool/lounge. The gift store is amazing. The staff was great.I would love to go back. Beautiful area complete with a volcano!

Historically choices for hotels in Raton have been less than desirable. It was so nice to have a safe, comfortable and updated lodging. Highly recommended! The breakfast buffet was an excellent amenity. Food was great and staff were very attentive and friendly

Had no expectations upon arrival—the lobby was fantastic and Chris behind the desk was friendly and knowledgeable. Also appreciated the follow up room call. Staff in the restaurant were friendly and efficient, could not have had a better overall stay.

You will not be disappointed by staying at this hotel. Staff was super friendly and my room was very clean. There is also a restaurant located within the property or you can venture to the many nearby restaurants located in Raton. Also, the high speed internet was good enough to stream Netflix.

The Raton BW motel although slightly dated in construction delivered an exceptional experience out in the middle of the high desert. I especially liked the fact that coffee thermos was available 24 hours a day and the fact that the guest bathrooms had exhaust fans. That's something much more expensive chains usually lack. The only negative I have found is that the rooms are a little dark, I would have liked more light. Younger persons with better vision may not find this an issue. A ceiling fan with a light fixture would really be of great value.

Easy to find. Remodeled and looks great. Clean quiet room. Bed comfortable. Every employee was smiling and eager to help. Ate supper on Restaurant Mulligans and was fresh, delicious and hot. Fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, yummy. Friend had quesadillas and said we're delicious. Plenty of parking. Nice indoor pool. Maintenance of facilities was excellent.

This was our third Best Western in our four day road trip and the last night on the road. I say "our" because it was me and my 45# shelter mutt. I sure wish other US motels would adopt the European and Central American practice of tile floors instead of carpet and it was a great surprise to see that this Best Western was tiled! Our room was clean, with high quality linens and a comfortable bed. The outside door is a plus when traveling with a dog and the close by dog-relief area as convenient. NOTE TO DOG OWNERS! Please pick up the poop, leaving it around just creates ill-will for all dog people. I make a point of picking up after my dog as well as other random poop left behind! BTW, breakfast was a cut above the average. Good selection of hot items as well as the usual cold.

This hotel has the best customer service I have received at a hotel in a long time. From the moment I checked in until I checked out, all the hotel employees were very welcoming and go the extra mile. The room was clean and comfortable. They are pet-friendly and accommodate pets well. The breakfast staff is excellent. They deliver orders promptly and have such friendly attitudes. The front desk was very helpful in assisting us when we needed to locate a pharmacy. The management at this hotel promotes a high level of excellence. I highly recommend this hotel. I felt like a valued customer there.

This is a beautiful hotel. The staff (especially Lynda at the front desk) are very pleasant and helpful. The restaurant is great(especially the fish and french fries!) The rooms are comfortable and clean. We love the King suites. Huge bathtub! But make sure you call way in advance to get a suite, they are popular.

This is the very best place to stay in Raton. The staff is excellent and goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is excellent. Our room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. There is a nice gift shop and a small workout room as well as an indoor salt water pool. Breakfast has lots of choices.

This hotel has achieved a 5 star rating from me because everything, and I mean everything, is just perfect. From the exterior to interior it is really nice and well thought out. Staff are awesome and the restaurant and breakfast provide far more than one would expect. This Best Western is at a level all hotels should esteem to.

This was a nice hotel the rooms were clean and the bathroom was clean, the bed was very comfortable not to hard or soft.. the free breakfeast was not the best sausage had a funny taste and eggs and potatoes were cold. Regular breakfast was expensive 9.99, their restaraunt was pricey too.

Hotel is clean, beds are comfortable, staff is pleasant, breakfast is wonderful, pool is great! We had a great a fantastic stay at the Raton BW Plus. The breakfast buffet was so satisfying, my son had made to order pancakes. Kids loved the indoor pool.

Loved everything about this place. The room was fine. The pool area was out of this world beautiful and indoors too. The restaurant and bar were fine for dinner and a drink.Breakfast was excellent. Perfect ending to a long day.

After a long day driving through Colorado we stayed here for the night. This hotel has a great layout, a retro style which is well done with modern touches. Security is good, everything worked, was clean and it has a restaurant with good food and reasonable prices. The staff from reception to the food service were friendly and very competent. Marsha at the reception desk was very open, friendly and a great ambassador for the hotel. This was is highly recommended!

Won't be back. Too bad because its a good location to stop. From the terrible attitude of the front desk to the even worse attitude of the bar/restaurant. Then you have to take into account the ..... half clean room. The bathroom looked like a fast wipe down at BEST. Looked like the coffee pot had NEVER been cleaned. Go down the road and save yourself some frustration and cash. Seems Raton, NM doesn't care whether you stop or not because we had nothing but bad experiences.

It's a nice place, stayed here several times. It's pool is nice, was chilly this last stay. Our coffee creamer packs were empty in the room. So they must not check that on a regular because this has happened in the past. But overall good place for cost!

This unassuming hotel is an oasis of calm and comfort, especially after a long drive. We don't often stay at Best Westerns, but this well-run, super-clean hotel is a strong advocate for the brand. Our room was spacious, with a comfortable sofa and a sumptuous bed, which provided a luxurious sleep after a long day's traveling. We paid $130, which was great value for such a pleasant stay and included a good breakfast in the on-site restaurant Mulligan's. Our room was also exceptionally quiet. We heard no noise at all from outside the room nor from other guests, (and the hotel was full). Chris (Reception) checked us in with a warm welcome and gave us useful information. It was particularly impressive when he called us 20 minutes later to check that we were happy with our room and enquiring if we needed anything.

Great last minute booking. Had to make a last minute reservation and Mariah in reservations at the hotel was so very helpful and courteous. Great customer service!! The room was great, hot breakfast very good and excellent customer service by Desk Staff.

For some reason it had been a while since we had stayed at a Best Western Hotel. This hotel certainly made us glad we decided to try a Best Western again. We were warmly greeted by the assistant manager at check-in. Our room was very nice and spotless. It was nice to be able to park right at the door to our room. We usually avoid hotel restaurants, but since we were not finding anything else that was appealing, we gave it a try. We were pleasantly surprised by both the food and service. I had fish and chips. The fish was very good and they let me substitute broccoli for the chips. We they told us at check-in about their full hot breakfast, I though I've heard that before. Breakfast had many choices. As an example, if you wanted pancakes, they prepared then in the kitchen and delivered them to the table. I might add, one of the owners was in the restaurant greeting customers and generally over- seeing everything. If this Best Western is an example of what the chain is like, I'm going to consider making Best Westerns a stop on my travels.

What a relaxing place to stay after driving all day. The rooms was spotless, the staff were so very helpful, especailly the front desk. Enjoy a swim in this beautiful indoor pool with as relaxing setting. Dinner at the restaurant/ lounge was perfect as we didn't care to drive at this point. Food was good and drinks were great.

We stay as often as we can. Adriane at the front desk is AWESOME! She always has a smile on her face when we see her. She is so accommodating. Rooms are nice and clean. Great job housekeeping! One of the better complimentary breakfasts. We will be back.

The hotel is clean and nice looking, with a 24-hour gift shop that has some toiletries and snacks (loved it). The breakfast was decent (about what you would expect from Best Western hotels). My room was a bit small, and located by the inside pool, so the room was hot and humid when I arrived. It cooled down after a few hours of driving the air conditioner at max. The amenities are good and everything was clean and working. Bed was comfortable. Staff is very friendly.

We were pleasantly surprised by how much we liked this hotel. From the warm welcome at check in when we just walked in without a reservation, to the helpful and friendly dining room staff after a long day on the road, everything just worked right. Even the laundry was priced right at $1 for each machine and we were handed soap and dryer sheets without even asking! Several days later, we had a choice of directions to take and we headed back to Raton where we knew we would find a comfortable, welcoming place to stay!

This is always our stop on our way to Colorado. Clean and comfortable rooms. They are accommodating when requesting room on the first floor. They have an indoor pool which my grandchildren enjoy. Breakfast is pretty good. I won't stay anywhere else in Raton.

Stopped here on way home from CO and was pleasantly surprised surprised to find this hotel. Everyone on the staff did all they could to make our stay memorably pleasant. Restaurants and lounge made it unnecessary to go back out after checking.

We traveled through New Mexico, and chose Best Western for the amenities and location to our planned trip. Breakfast was great, fitness center the right thing after a long day on the road, rooms comfy, and quiet.

We were greeted by a smiling and helpful person at check in and were given warm cookies! Yummy. The room was well appointed, clean and thankfully quiet. Breakfast was good, hot and tasty. The staff in the restaurant provided excellent service.

I travel to AZ about 5 times each winter and I almost always plan to stay at this motel because of the enjoyable stay I have every time. The excellent facility and the friendly people who work there make it my preferred place to stay.

Terrible property! Since I was traveling with my support dachshund, got placed in an annex handicap room as a penalty. Better not be handicaped or they're going to stick it to you! Opened door and almost passed out from the cleaning product smell, sneezed for 5 minutes. Dark and dingy with a tiny window next to bathroom which overlooked semi's who were parked 3 feet from the window. Woke me up as they started to warm up the engines. Lumpy old mattress, cheap linens and pillows, towels that felt like a brillo pad. In-wall heating unit had a plastic baffle on it so the air blew on the bed all night and it was noisy. No carpet, all ceramic cold dated tile. Wi-Fi worked. Only nice thing I can say is that they had a nicely remodeled front desk area ---wish they had put the renovation money into the rooms. Suggest that you see the room before you commit to staying there, the annex was crap, didn't see any of the main unit rooms. Absolutely the worst hotel night in the last 20+ years

This is our fourth year staying here and we love it. Our only complain is the pool, restaurant and lounge close at 9, extended hours would be nice at least Friday and Saturday. Very clean and the staff are GREAT!!!

After pushing NW from Austin through TX for 11 hours, we stopped at the BEST WESTERN PLUS at the old Santa Fe Pass to the Rocky Mountains in Raton. The Best Western Plus had great reviews online so we booked a room for a night. The Reception from Chris was exceptionally friendly and helpful.Our room was clean and convenient. We were told the place used to be a Holidom with a covered indoor courtyard seemingly the size of a football field with a swimming pool, lounge area, SPACE! and comfortable access to the restaurant and gift shop. We don't ordinarily shop in hotel gift shops, but the items in this one were very unique: Native American jewelry; a nice selection of cards; sweatshirts for the colder temperatures.... We had a really good dinner and a full breakfast before getting on the road again. We will definitely stay here again when traveling in the area! Thumbs UP!

Rooms and common indoor areas very clean. The pool area was extremely clean and inviting. Salt water pool. Nice gift shop. The onsite-restaurant was good. Breakfast was exceptional with all the fixings to make burritos. Very attentive staff at breakfast.

This Best Western Plus is extra nice in my opinion. Everything is very clean. Room 119 has an outside and inside entrance. The room is large with all the ammities. Check in wa easy with a quite pleasant lady. The bed is great and no outside noise what so ever was heard. Great place to stay.

We have stayed in many Best Western Plus Hotels and have rated them four stars plus each time. This hotel however gets a 3 star. We stayed in a ground floor room. It had no windows. The ac/heating system was very difficult to regulate and we had to keep changing the temperature and fan level to keep our desired comfort level of 70 degrees. It was noisy. The front desk however was exceptionally nice and must be applauded for their wonderful attitude.

This is a cool hotel. each room has door from parking lot and another that opens into indoor pool area. Great restaurant & gift shop, clean, comfy, great staff. Not super fancy but just right. Rooms could use some better lighting but when we come thru this area, we try to stay here. Good rewards program too

The lobby has beautiful art. The onsite restaurant is good and convenient. The sea salt pool has me interested to stop again and make sure I have my suit and time to enjoy this feature. I wish there was more light in the room.

This is a cleaned up, spruced up old Holiday Inn Holidome. It is clean, the people are great. It would get rated higher but: the window heater/air conditioner is loud, the is an entrance than can be accessed to the parking lot for each room. HOWEVER, the restaurant and bar are fabulous. The free breakfast comes with green chili that may not be the best, but I have never eaten better. Dinner is superb.

We needed to book 20 rooms quickly for a team that was redirected to Albuquerque from DIA. Marsha was amazing! She got the rooms booked quickly, at a rate that met our budget and had all the keys ready for when the team arrived. All this while dealing with travelers who couldn't get to Colorado because of the Bomb Cyclone. Hope to get my family to Raton this summer just so we can thank Marsha and the staff in person!

Everything about our 3-day stay at this property was excellent. During our move from California to Colorado, we hunkered down in Raton to ride-out the historic 'bomb cyclone', blizzards and damaging winds of March '19. My wife and I shared the experience with our two little dogs. The dedicated pet-walking area was one of the best we've used and was maintained by hotel personnel. The staff of this hotel made this unexpectedly long stay the best it could possibly be. Each and every member of the team we encountered (grounds-keeping, house-keeping, lobby, restaurant/bar, breakfast) went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and pleasant (up to and including fresh coffee and warm chocolate-chip cookies in the lobby!). The property is modern and clean with a beautiful large indoor atrium and pool-area as well as a beautiful lobby. The hot breakfast was terrific (served on real plates/utensils) and the breakfast team was friendly and helpful. A surprising jewel in this small and remote community! Would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

Great place to stop for the night on the way to Colorado. The hotel staff are friendly and very accommodating. The breakfast had an excellent variety. If you are traveling at spring break just be aware that the hotel restaurant may have trouble handling the volume at dinner so there is a long wait.

One of the nicer Best Westerns. Each room has a door to the outside and also to the inside which is very convenient. We arrived late and ordered pizza from the restaurant there, it was good and quick. The pool looked very nice but we didn't have time to use it. The breakfast was good with a very nice breakfast room and lots of variety, more than most hotels. The room was clean and comfy.

We stayed here on our way to Denver from El Paso. We really enjoyed our stay. The reception area is beautiful. Our receptionist was extremely helpful and friendly. The food in Mulligans Restaurant was delicious and reasonably priced. Room was very comfortable, with fridge and microwave, free wi-fi and lots of good tv channels. The price was reasonable. There is a lovely pool and a very pleasant indoor courtyard but we didn't have enough time to really enjoy it. I will definitely stay here again.

This is an older hotel, renovated VERY well. Indoor pool, courtyard, fitness center. Neat setup with the rooms - doors to the courtyard (indoors) AND outdoors, with your car parked right outside. Super-convenient!!! Clean. Brand new carpet. Quiet. Two thumbs up!

Facility is extremely clean and well maintained. Our room was very quiet. Breakfast buffet had more selections than any buffet we've ever seen and the food was delicious! The staff was very friendly and helpful. We also used the really nice indoor heated pool. Highly recommend!!

Wow, what a great place to stay! Clean, quiet, I was about to give up on TripAdvisor recommendations. This is safe, and the staff is great. I'm hard to please when it comes to motels, but this was great. Take my word for it.

We stayed here because another review said they were family friendly. They setup a crib for us and everyone there was very friendly. The breakfast was also pretty good compared to other continental breakfasts.

The Best Western at Raton is one of the finest BW's I've visted. The bed was very comfortable, the room was clean and warm. I loved that it had access to the inside and outside of the hotel. The renovations are tasteful and very nicely done. The breakfast was hot and fresh and some of the GREATEST green chile I've had. We loved our visit.

Arrived on a bike and as it was going to be in the twenties wanted to park near the entrance but was told not to. Thwy accomodated me by giving a ground floor room with parking outside. Fair enough All room details good as usual and a great breakfast with real eggs and plates/silverware . Good on them will be back.

Needed a place to stay for one night while traveling between Texas and Colorado. Front desk staff couldn't have been nicer. Room was spacious and comfortable. We ate dinner at the hotel restaurant which was really good and the hotel provided a free breakfast which was adequate before a long day of driving ( eggs,yogurt,fruit). I will stay at this hotel again next time I drive thought the area. The location was perfect and I can't find any faults in the hotel for a quick one night stay.

Adrian was AMAZING! I called her back and forth probably 5 times getting everything organized for my mom to stay 12/28/18 on a last minute stay due to the pass being closed. As an Assistant Manager in a customer service focused business she is the type of person I would want to work for me! If I wasn't in Oregon I would already be trying to steal her! She was so nice and accommodating and never seemed annoyed. Also very willing to google information for me and double check weather. She is outstanding!

My wife and I stayed at this hotel not knowing what to expect. Glad we stopped here. This hotel was very clean and quiet. Very impressed with the bathroom. My wife took a bath in a gigantic tub. You could easily fit 2 people in the tub. We will be back.

We were heading home from SE AZ having visited family for Thanksgiving. This place was was rated well we noticed, and it turned out to be worthy of the praise! Clean, friendly staff, nicely appointed rooms, comfortable beds, and a really good breakfast. Not just an afterthought or a “we have to because everyone does it” breakfast, there were great choices and the atmosphere wasn't a room that you felt was an embarrassment. Very good!

A great stop for Texans headed to/from Colorado via Hwy 87 from Amarillo to the I-25 corridor! Easy access. Extremely friendly and professional personnel from the front desk reservations to the warm “good morning” at the delicious breakfast buffet. Our king room was spotless and large. Children were having fun in the heated indoor pool in mid-November. Highly recommend this convenient hotel if you find yourself needing to break up a long drive.

We got here late one night on our way to Wyoming. We didn't have a reservation so we just called and they happened to have three rooms. We weren't expecting much but just needed a place to lay our heads. It turned out to be a very nice property with very nice people and clean rooms. It is two story but there is an elevator and the property is pretty large but all of the rooms can be accessed from either inside the building or outside and there are luggage carts available so you don't have to carry your bags a long distance. But the best thing was the breakfast. We received vouchers for breakfast when we checked in and I was just planning on the typical free hotel breakfast with coffee, juice, cereal, bagels, donuts and reconstituted eggs. However, what we got was a buffet with real, freshly made eggs, bacon, sausage, potoatoes, tortillas, hatch green chile salsa and pancakes on request. It was delicious. The room was ~$136 which I thought was reasonable and the best thing I can say is that I have cause to spend the night again in the Raton area, I will be spending it at the Best Western Plus!

We were traveling from Oklahoma City to Denver and needed a place to stop for the night. We were happily surprised by the quality and friendliness of the Best Western in Raton NM. We generally stay at Marriotts and Hiltons, but will now add Best Western to our list of nice places to stay. Being retired, we travel quite a bit, so we enjoy staying staying at clean, quiet, convenient and affordable hotels. This hotel hit all the marks!

Probably a 4+. Check in smooth and friendly. Food and drink on location. I was traveling by motorcycle so this along with being able to park at my room door was great. Also there was a second room door opening into an enclosed community area where the swimming pool was. To get to the restaurant all I had to do was go through this area. I did not have to go outside. BTW the food was good and considering it was on site, reasonable. The electrical outlets were adequate. The lighting was OK but none very bright for reading. Room was clean. A pet peeve of mine is the number of towel sets. This one had two beds but 3 face, hand, and bath towels. It so happened this time I was by myself so this was plenty for just me. So many times my wife, daughter, and granddaughter travel with me and it is the same set up even if reservations have been made.

Interesting that rooms open outside and into large interior courtyard. They have a salt water pool but we didn't check it out. Breakfast is very good, far beyond typical traveler would see. On my next trip through I will definitely stay here again.

This location is priced higher than the local competition, but, it is well worth it. The inside was remodeled and several years ago and kudos to the designer. Nothing special or fancy about the inside, but when you go in - totally different. Security is very important to the hotel staff and that is a good thing.

We enjoyed our stay at the Rato, NM facility. Check in staff right off the bat made us fell comfortable and let us know that if we needed anything to let them know. Also that there was always fresh coffee available. That for us is always a plus.Our room was clean and comfortable. We had spent the night a week before next door that advanced themselves as" quality" but was lacking to say the least.

We stayed here on our family trip to Wyoming last July. The rooms were clean. The children enjoyed the large pool. Breakfast was delicious. I would recommend this hotel to travelers passing through this area

A great hotel in a great little town. We arrived early but it was no problem the check in was easy staff polite & helpful. Very clean hotel through out & spaciouse with the bedrooms having an outside door to the car park and an indoor door going out into a large seating area with a pool at one end. My only concern with the hotel is when guests use the pool in the evening the noise level around the pool can be heard in your room. We did witness this ourselves the night we stayed children were playing in the pool around 8 - 8.30pm. The bar/restaurant was busy,staff polite with good food. Breakfast very good great selection of hot and cold with friendly staff. Bedroom was large, beds comfortable. Small bath/shower with a great touch having a heater on the ceiling in a light on a timer : )

This was our 2nd stay there. Was clean, quiet, nice pool. We really enjoyed the breakfast area and selection. Nice rolling hills view, seems to be a quiet town. Nice stop on your way to Colorado. We will stay again.

We are 3 senior ladies doing a cross country road trip. We decided to make Raton a stopover. What a pleasant surprise when we checked in. This is a very clean and quiet oks e to stay. Nice exercise room, laundry area and breakfast. Priced right.

The BW+ in Raton is the best place to stay in that area. I've been there 3 times in the last 5 years while competing at the NRA WC. Every time I go to a competition there, that is my hotel. Now and in the future.The rooms are great and very comfortable. The restaurant is open early in the morning, which is great for the competitors and that is very much appreciated. I wish the restaurant and bar area would open sooner that 4:00PM for dinner and stay open later than 9:00PM, but then again. The restaurant menu is somewhat limited, but it is comfort food and it's a good value. It's not a great restaurant but it's still the best in Raton. A salad bar or some such would be a great addition.

I was traveling alone (female) and did not realize until I checked in after a long day of travel that the hotel only has doors that go outside. There was also a door into another room. Three doors into my room means three points of entry. No thanks ... too risky.

Very clean, great staff, great pool and a awesome breakfast! Not much for kids to do other than the pool but it was warm, clean and very well maintained. We stay there everytime we pass through and its always a good experience, you can't go wrong here.

This comfortable and affordable hotel has both exterior and interior egress on the first floor. It was nice to park outside our room and not have to haul our stuff on a luggage cart. The inside room door opens to a very tasteful cavernous interior: this contains the salt water pool, pool-side seating, and artistic gravel "mosaics" which adorn the large open area. A very pleasant stay.

Being a Hilton guy, I had not stayed at a BW hotel in years, but after this stay, that may change. What a surprise! An older hotel that has obviously been upgraded, has larger rooms that were clean and had everything any high priced Hilton hotel would have. A great restaurant and bar, friendly staff and an indoor salt water pool! We will look at BW hotels now as a choice instead of ignoring them!

This hotel is an older designed motel that has been greatly upgraded over the years. Most rooms open to the parking lot ( I found this to be very convenient) but there are some more rooms located in their atrium inside where a nice indoor pool is located. The rooms were larger than the average Holiday Inn Express and very clean. Up to date bed and bedding too. The bathroom was a little dated but very clean. They are pet friendly and our room was very close to the pet area out to the front. They keep the grounds in excellent condition. There was even a seated smoking area toward the back outside. We felt very safe at this hotel. The breakfast at the restaurant (Mulligan's) was exceptional. Fresh hot pancakes are made to order but you have to request them. It was a nice spread of most anything else. Coffee was great. There's also a really, really nice gift shop next to the restaurant inside the atrium, too. I noticed some very handsome silver and turquoise pieces that could have been in a jewelry store! There is a Subway next door and numerous gas stations. The hotel is just 100 yards to the Interstate off ramp.

I expected so much better from Best Western, let alone a "Plus" hotel. Conveniently located next to the interstate, it is still in a rather run-down section of town. We were traveling with a dog, and that often requires a stay in one of their less desirable rooms. So true enough, we were sent across the parking lot, into a building where many full-time, live in's were staying. When we got into the room, it was substandard, with old fixtures, especially in the bathroom. But the real issue was when my wife pulled down the bedding and discovered fresh blood stains ("fresh" meaning it did not appear to have been laundered after the stain was set). We called the manager on-duty, who was apologetic, but seemed powerless to do more than change our room to one two-doors down. Same run-down building, same live-in neighbors, same low-rent fixtures, and same EXPENSIVE rate!

We would highly recommend the Best Western. The staff were so helpful, friendly and polite in all parts of the hotel. There is an on property restaurant that was very nice, the staff were so nice even though they were very busy. We will stay again for sure. Thank you.

Only a portion of the hotel is enclosed. Our room had a door to the outside on the other side of the hotel with tiled floor. The room looked just like the pictures but, like I said it had tiled floor. Great if you brought your pet with you. Our stay was not too loud for being located outside and the breakfast was great. Although if you need late night food Denny's is across the street and other fast food restaurant are near by. It's close to the highway. The staff is super wonderful and checking in was quick and easy. When back in the area I will stay here again.

The experience at the BW+ in Raton, NM was one to remember! From the warm welcome at the front desk from Lynda, who greeted us and explained all of the amenities they had to offer. The rooms are as nice as any of the major hotels for less price. This hotel is extremely clean modern with a great buffet for breakfast and clean workout facility. The pool and courtyard are extremely clean and well kept. I would highly recommend it!

I have stayed in many high end hotels that cost much more than this little place and had more room for improvement. I will make it a point to stop in Raton on long road trips between TX and CO in the future. The rooms were very comfortable, immaculately clean, the service was universally friendly and excellent and the breakfast buffet was honestly one of the better ones I have had anywhere. Loved the green chili on scrambled eggs (real ones I'm pretty sure) in the morning. The indoor salt water pool in the enclosed atrium was another highlight. You need a 24/7 gift shop selling Chapstick and decent souvenirs? They have this also.

Very friendly staff, updated, clean and pet friendly. Special section of rooms with tile floors for guests with pets, so be sure to tell them if you are traveling with pets.$20 night pet free which is reasonable. Beds are comfy but sheets are paper thin. The sheets were my only complaint but pillows were good ! Breakfast buffet starts at 6am. Dinner until 9. Would definitely stay again in my way from Texas to Colorado.

Stayed 2 nights and staff was great. Everyone I encountered was friendly and helpful. Gym is small so take advantage of the nearby canyons for hiking/running. Restaurant food was good. A little pricy on drinks but breakfast was great so definitely take advantage of it! Didn't use the pool but it was certainly popular while I was there. Indoor, heated and saltwater.

We needed a place to spend the night in Raton. This place exceeded all of our expectations. The rooms were great. The facility was great. The staff was exceptional. They accommodated our requests and we're very friendly.

Friendly staff, clean rooms and comfy beds. very good continental breakfast. Always stay here if I'm coming through Raton. I always try to plan my trip to stay here. Leave Texas and stay a night in Raton before heading to the mountains to ski or fly fish. Never have had a problem. D. W.

My wife and I decided to stay here on our way to Denver and this hotel was an excellent stopover. All of the staff members were friendly and helpful. Our room was big and spacious and clean. We got an affordable rate. The hotel is in a quiet location and away from the highway. The hotel is easily accessible from I-25 at Exit 451. And there are plenty of stores and restaurants nearby for added convenience. We will definitely stay here again

I can not think of one negative about this BW. There are a lot of positives however. Property is immaculate. Staff engaging. Our room was very quiet. The a/c was also quiet. Room was spacious and seemed new. WiFi strong . The bed was super comfortable. Our room was on the second floor and there was an elevator. There is a wonderful restaurant located in the building. Great selection, food well prepared. The biggest surprise was the outstanding included breakfast that was served in the same restaurant. Delicious, real freshly scrambled eggs. Other hot items as well. Fresh pastry items. NO PLASTIC. Breakfast served on real plates, real utensils. Definitely will be returning. The place seemed to be run with an attitude of excellence. It's been a long time since I was so impressed by an overnight stay.

We stopped here for one night and the staff was excellent. The breakfast was the best, actually served on real plates and waited on my staff. If you get a chance please stop in here. I would stay here again.

Very comfortable beds. nice size rooms, clean and appealing. Hot tub was broke, and pool was freezing, and restaurant was closed due to water problem. (These things were same as our stay 8 years ago). Other than this, this is a very nice, comfortable, quiet hotel. Friendly staff.

We loved this motel. Indoor heated swimming pool. Lots of seating areas in a huge atrium to visit and relax. Beds were very comfortable. Bathrooms very clean. Price included a delicious hot breakfast buffet with pancakes on request. Staff was all very friendly. Would stay here again.

Noisy young children next door, but overall quiet. Nice helpful staff. Room was dated, but clean and comfortable. Restaurant was just average, but better than most places in Raton. Breakfast was fresh and tasty. Had Hot Air Balloons taking off, while we enjoyed breakfast. It was a nice morning.

We had 3 rooms at this BW during a recent trip from OK to Colorado. We had 5 adults and 3 children in our group and we couldn't have been more pleased with the place. Check-in was efficient with courteous and informative clerks. Our rooms were spacious and close to the pool (very important to our kids!). The rooms were clean and well furnished with amenities and adequate linens. They lights could have been a bit brighter (only minor complaint.) Beds were comfortable and room was quiet. The pool was clean and nice size, perfect for our group. Breakfast was great. Good service at restaurant breakfast buffet. We would definitely stay here again.

This is where we usually stop for a break if we drive to Breck. It's nothing fancy but does the job and it is pet friendly! The restaurant is pretty good...we had Fettuccine Alfredo and a salad. We also grabbed a quick breakfast from the buffet (which was free!) before we headed out the next morning! Only thing missing was bacon! LOL As far a pet friendly...I wish they had more grassy spots...the only have a little gravel area for the pets to use. There is a big grassy field behind the hotel. I have a lab so I took him back there and he loved it. We saw 2 deer and of course he found something dead to roll in! I did leave some clothes in our room when I checked out. I called later that day and asked if they found them...they said they didn't! That was a bummer!

We stayed three nights at this beautiful hotel. We enjoyed our stay in every way. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. The front desk staff remembered our names from a previous visit. Our room was very clean and it was cleaned early every morning after we left for the day. There is a small work out room that I used twice. There is also a small gift shop to browse. Breakfast was good and varied enough to have multiple choices. There is a small saltwater pool, too. We ate in the restaurant two nights and enjoyed the food and margaritas. Overall an excellent stay!

We stayed here August 2017 on our way to Colorado. The hotel was a pleasant surprise. Accommodating staff and a clean, remolded interior with gift shop, restaurant and indoor pool. And elevator to our second floor room. Would stay here again. Fills up fast so book as soon as Raton, NM is in your travel plans.

The staff and service from the check-in to the departure was excellent. The restaurant at the location had a varied menu and my selections were very good. The breakfast buffet was extensive and the service was delivered with a smile!

This doesn't look like much more than your average renovated motel on the outside... but it is like a geode!!!! I'm picky about clean and the first thing I noticed is the tastefully updated room was fresh and clean. Then ... I saw the second door... which opens onto a beautiful courtyard and indoor, heated, saltwater pool!!!! The breakfast was wonderful, and the staff and management friendly and attentive. Soon after check in we received a phone call asking how are room was and if we needed anything! Well done. We stayed in a different hotel our first time through Raton and I was nervous when it was full but I'm so glad we ended up here!

This place is smashingly great! My family felt well rested after the cleanest room (THANKS HOUSEKEEPING)and best breakfast (THANK YOU LADIES in the dining area). Breakfast manager runs a tight ship. The fresh fruit options made my morning, my husband looked forward to tacos and was not disappointed. The children enjoyed hot cocoa & the plentiful buffet options. The decor and upscale feel would surprise you to know this hav. We never wanted to leave.I will recommend this place to EVERYONE!!! Wish I could give this a 10?. Don't lose the chance to have breakfat with the breath taking view.

Comfortable property...easy to navigate...restaurant on site...excellent check-in staff and rooms were clean and well-maintained. Pool was warm and inside a large indoor courtyard. Grandkids loved this place. Dinner was very good....beef brisket...chicken-fried steak...salmon and gigantic burger. Good fries. Waitress was helpful and very friendly but the restaurant was very busy. They kept up fairly well. Breakfast was buffet style and seemed similar to most chains. We were told they cooked to order pancakes but never saw that offered. Three small recommendations: Breakfast to 10 a.m. plz....hot tub would be great....pool should stay open to 10.

We stayed at this hotel on our way to Colorado. It's a really nice hotel with a neat courtyard right in the middle and a huge pool. The kids really enjoyed staying here. The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly.

The staff were courteous and the breakfast buffet was great! I did not particularly care for the entrance from the outside...felt motel-like, not hotel-like. The pool was excellent! My kids enjoyed it being saltwater.

The room was very nice. We really enjoyed the restaurant/lounge. The menu choices are very good. The breakfast is always excellent with a nice variety of items. We love staying here, and will do so every time we travel this way.

This Best Western has been by far the BEST! The courtesy (not faked) and professionalism, and friendliness was well worth the additional 2 nights' booking. The room was clean; no problems. The last day there was the only exception; we believe it was the motel cleaning person who placed the "do not disturb" sign outside our door, therefore, the room was not cleaned, and no clean towels were placed. This was a big inconvenience since we came in late and tired on that day and had to go thru the trouble of getting clean towels. Bathroom light is combined with fan and this was annoying after a while. Got up during the night and turning light on in the bathroom was very noisy. The restaurant has excellent food and service as well. We had stayed in 2 other BW hotels in New Mexico and we were very impressed with this BW Plus in Raton, NM.Will most definitely stay there again if ever in that area.

The BW Plus in Raton is very clean and well kept. Staff are friendly, bed is comfy and room had plenty of space for spreading out. The bar, restaurant and breakfast spaces are ample. Food is tasty and filled us up. We would stay there again.

Everyone that I interacted with was extremely courteous, friendly, and helpful! I think this is the most impressed I have ever been with a hotel's customer service. The staff in the restaurant, at the front desk, and even the housekeepers and pool guy were awesome!! Good job!!

Most pleasant property, very well maintained. Clean, bright and well attended by the professional and non-professional staff. just on the edge of New Mexico's montains, as you head east out into the high chapparal.

This is a wonderful place to stay. All staff in every department were most cordial, helpful and accommodating. The maintenance of this remodeled facility several years ago would make one feel the doors had just opened. It's clean & fresh with most tasteful colors and decor. A warm feeling whether in the evening or wee hours of the morning.

Same great service, comfortable bed, and clean & spacious room like last time. This time we used the heated pool for a relaxing swim to stretch out some travel kinks. Temperature was perfect. Warm enough to not be a shock when we got in, but cool enough to not feel like a hot tub. Breakfast was even better than the last time. It is rare to find buffet-served scrambled eggs that aren't dry, and these were perfect. They also had a fabulous green chile sauce, with a heat we would call New Mexico mild (medium for folks not used to spicy foods). Whether you are traveling solo, as a couple, as a family, or for business, I would definitely recommend this place.

Place was really nice. Beautiful sculpture in the lobby. I could not believe how nice it was. The breakfast included items to make a breakfast burrito with all the fixings. Including green chili's of course. Demi is super nice and helpful with all our questions at breakfast. Pool in the middle of hotel is enclosed. Two queen beds were comfortable. Staff was everywhere taking care of hotel. Bang for the buck is amazing.

We always stay here when we travel through Raton. It is a decent place to stay. Staff is nice, rooms are clean and comfortable. Beds are comfortable to. I have not had a bad experience yet and will continue to stay here. Bartender could have smiled a little but she was efficient.

The room has doors which open directly from the parking area as well as to the inside of the hotel. Therefore, I could unload my luggage easily as well as get to the pool and meals while inside the hotel. The room was clean and comfortable. I will stay here again.

The staff was extremely welcoming and the hotel was very clean and nice. Kids used the pool and it was great we were able to pull right up to the roo. To unload which was very nice. Breakfast was very good and the staff was great. Will definitely stay again.

Our room was spacious and clean. The staff was friendly. The indoor pool was clean, water was warm and space was secured. The breakfast was very good with warm tortillas, eggs and salsa. Convenient to the interstate.

The staff was superior and the hotel was clean, clean, clean. The decor was a bit dated but that added to its charm. Having a restaurant on site did not hurt my feelings a bit. Overall, a great experience

BW+ aren't my 1st choice hotels but this one was above all others. I learned that they are individually owned therefore they are all different. Whomever owns this one did it right! Very clean, different layout and friendly staff. Someone posted it was "a diamond in the rough" and they were right. Would definitely stay again! (They also offer discounts for the military as well - if you have a card) :)

The hotel is very clean and a very good value. The restaurant was very clean and the staff was very courteous. The food was fine at both dinner and breakfast. Security was excellent. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed at the Best Western Plus in Raton overnight on our way to Breckenridge for a ski trip. The hotel itself is nice, probably the nicest in Raton. And though it wasn't a terrible stay, it definitely wasn't a great stay. Our check-in seemed to go okay. Our room was on the opposite side of the hotel from where the front desk was located. We drove around the hotel to our room only to find that our key cards wouldn't work. There was not an entrance to the hotel anywhere except the front by where the check-in area/lobby is located. I had to walk all the way back around the hotel to the front desk to let them know our keys didn't work. I then had to walk back to our room and meet a maintenance man to fix our door lock. My wife and I both were very surprised how dark the room was. Part of it was that one of the floor lamps had a burned out bulb. We called the front desk and let them know about it. The same man who had fixed the door lock came and changed out the bulb. A few hours later, we pulled out the sofa bed so our 11 year old son could sleep in it. There was a pillow and blanket for the pull-out sofa, but no sheets. I had to walk back to the front desk to get sheets. This is a nice hotel. The restaurant (Mulligans) is great, arguably one of the best in town. Our breakfast was excellent. The bathroom in the hotel room was very nice. All in all, it was an average experience. For nearly $190 after tax, we did not feel that we received that value that we should have.

Hooray to the head of housekeeping on the cleanliness here. Very nice staff at front desk and otherwise. The breakfast is a step up from the usual chain breakfast. The shower was very nice good sprayer unit. Bed pillows comfortable.

The Best Western Hotel In Raton, New Mexico is a wonderful place to stay! It has a great swimming pool, wonderful little store in the property and one great little restaurant in the property. Have enjoyed ever meal we have had there and the free breakfast is many steps above a normal motel breakfast. Would definately recommend a stay there!

If you don't want to be near the indoor courtyard pool, ask for a room in the other building. We did not and had to listen to the noise until 9 pm when it was shut down. Otherwise, the room was fine, if expensive.

This is a great place to stay. Staff (Marsha) is great, very accommodating and friendly. Breakfast was served early enough for us to head out at 6am to make our planned activities. Room was very clean. Pool was nice and warm with excellent towel service. Didn't get to have dinner at restaurant, but breakfast was very good. Eggs, sausage, potatoes, yogurt, breads... they have it all. The layout is great, so you can't go wrong with any room.

This is a 5 star experience! The staff was professional and so kind. The rooms were clean and the hotel was beautiful! I truly cannot say enough good things about this team. We won't forget our swimsuits next time. The indoor pool surpasses any I've seen!!!

This hotel is perfection. Everything. Room size, cleanliness, friendly and helpful staff, amenities... it's perfect. Marriah checked me in and she was so caring and nice. Restaurant staff was incredible. Five star service. Breakfast was the same build your oatmeal, build a burrito as any other hotel, but the local chili was a nice touch. Everything was so perfect, I will have to return soon!

i was unwell so only saw the room with two beds for my son and i and was surprised how great they were. Just like the picture. He never lets me eat the free breakfast so can't comment. Will always go BestWEtern. Changed from years ago when I did a lot of traveling.

The great hotel stays are made by the staff. We knew this was going to be a pleasant stay before we left the front desk. But the staff was well trained, enthusiastic, and helpful wherever we were at the hotel. The facilities were spacious and well appointed. The suite was large and clean. If you ever find yourself anywhere around Raton; this will be where you should stay.

Best- Best Western I have stayed in- so clean and updated for how long it has been there. Great staff and high standards to keep the property up to the high bar level. Breakfast is fantastic and markedly better than most “hotel breakfasts”.

We've stayed here on two different occasions. Both times going home from vacationing in Winter Park. Last year we had a great experience. This year, however, i had gotten a brand new iPad Pro for Christmas. I had it 6 days. I absentmindedly laid it down in the lobby and someone stole it. I'm sure it was someone staying there that took it. I don't think it was the staff because they were very helpful in trying to help us locate it. We did not find it. Be careful of your possession. Lesson learned the hard way. On a better note, both times we've been here there was deer outside of the hotel. This year we hand feed a huge buck! It was pretty neat.

While traveling we ended up in Raton and tried multiple hotels and couldn't find any. So, I pulled into Best Western around 11 pm one night and they had just had a cancellation. The front desk was very friendly & the hot breakfast was great. Awesome room and most comfortable bed I've ever slept on! I'll be sleeping here on my next drive through.

After traveling 17 hours this is a great place to stay and rest. Very clean, courteous staff. Diamond in the rough. Beds were very comfortable and the food was above average. Will be stopping here in the future.

I did not make it into my room because I was told no check in before 3. Went and ate. Upon my return at 250 pm even though 7 or 8 people were checked in and unloading cars the women still would not check me in. She was being ridiculous. So we left. Won't be back. Too many places to stay.

Stopped and stayed a night while in route from Texas to Colorado for a family ski trip. Hotel was great! Very good breakfast in the restaurant! Restaurant staff was great as well! Would certainly recommend to anyone traveling to Raton.

On our way back from Colorado. This hotel is great...beautiful lobby, great room, gift shop and restaurant. This hotel has an indoor pool with huge skylights. Dinner at the restaurant was great and so convenient. We are planning another trip to explore the area. This is a great place with friendly staff. Thanks Best Western !

Trip to Denver,Co with a stop over in Raton,NM traveling old roads I had been down in my years in Scouting. Hotel & Staff were Great to work with, rooms were clean and very spacious. I think the bathroom in our suite had its own zip code? The only down side to this, was the heating in the room would not adequately warm the bathroom and the tile floor was especially cold. Other than this minor set back our stay was Excellent!

We travelled with our 7 yo son and 15 yo terrier and requested a pet friendly room on hotels.com. We chose this BW HOTEL for the indoor pool so that after 10 hours of driving, we can all unwind in the pool while allowing our 7 yo son to let off some energy. When we arrived, we were put in a motel room across the parking lot with cold tile floors. In order to use the pool, we had to walk across the parking lot in the cold and snowy weather! That was never communicated on the website nor by BW's staff when she called to confirm our "pet friendly" room. Please DO NOT call yourself "pet friendly" when you charge extra for the service, then treat the pet and its family like 2nd class citizens! When we arrived at our final destination, our son was sporting a fever, cough and congestion... probably from the wet hair walking across the freezing outdoor temperature. We will NEVER stay at another BW hotel...

We drive 11 hours just so we can stay here! It is a wonderful, friendly, clean, helpful and convenient! We will always try to stay here when traveling west to Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana. We also like to visit with Mike who is in charge of Mulligans!

We stopped here overnight on our way home from Colorado. The place was clean and comfortable, and the kids enjoyed swimming in the heated, indoor pool. This place had all the amenities we needed, and included free breakfast. There is also a restaurant and bar in the hotel, as well as a few great places to eat near the hotel. I'd definitely recommend this place.

This was a perfect location for our stop between Dallas and Breckenridge. The hotel was nice and the staff was great. The fantastic breakfast was a perfect way to start our trek to Colorado. Thank you!

We LOVE this hotel for so many reasons: beautiful! friendly! quiet! indoor facilities! Always spotlessly clean! Helpful employees who go the extra mile. Once I called the front desk when my TV remote worked only sporadically. They had a maintenance worker bring me a new one immediately. Breakfast is always multifaceted and delicious. Plus, there is always a friendly host there to greet you and help out in any way. I love the indoor atrium pool area. Even if it's bad weather outside, you can take a long walk inside or go for a swim. They also allow pets and have some nice amenities for them as well. Stayed here 4 times in 2 months, and we'll be back.

We stayed here one night, passing through town in business. The staff was great and the property was very clean. They have all the normal amenities and a great restaurant in their building. The indoor pool was a nice touch. I'd stay here again.

The Best Western Plus in Ration is the best hotel within a 150 mile radius. The employees are the best trained imaginable and the facility is near perfection. This is the best possible experienv=ce within the surrounding region.

Very nice, pet friendly, hotel. Very friendly, helpful, staff and good breakfast. The room was clean and the beds comfortable. Tile floor in the pet friendly room was a good idea for keeping any odors down. Only had one issue with a sticking entry door to the room.

We were expecting this one-night stay to be adequate but nothing special. We were surprised to find an updated room with a wonderful bathroom with a large shower and separate tub (if we were staying longer I would have tried the tub, it was huge!) and a comfortable bed. We had been upgraded to a king suite, which featured a separate seating area with a sofa sleeper. Entrances are from the outside and from the inside, and it appears this used to be a traditional Best Western with an open courtyard. However, the courtyard is now covered stadium-style, and from what we could tell from the families in the pool, that was a good facility as well. In addition to the pool, the courtyard featured several seating areas with couches and chairs. We had arrived late afternoon planning to eat our lunch leftovers for dinner. The hostess at the restaurant provided us with plates, wine glasses, and cutlery wrapped in a cloth napkin. The manager came by and confirmed that was no problem. Both were super friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast was quite extensive, with the hot side having chafing dishes with scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage, ham, and tortillas. They had small containers with salsa and chopped New Mexico mild green chiles (which would be considered at least medium hot in most other places). The tea selection was excellent and the coffee was good. The pastry section had a variety of muffins and mini Danishes. They had another section with cereal and fresh fruit. Oh, and if you like pancakes, they will cook them up fresh. Whether you are traveling alone or with a family, this would be a great place to stop, and a great place from which to launch some local trips, like to Capulin or Sugarite.

Great friendly staff, the room was very nice and clean although it could have used a door between the dressing area and bedroom. we had a pet friendly room. The pool closes at 9 so if you want to swim do it quickly before they close.

From the staff to the roomsand restaurant, this is the place to stay! Clean and comfortable rooms, nice gift shop, indoor pool, restaurant food good and near room, morning breakfast with lots to choose from.

We had an exceptional stay at this hotel from check in to check out. All the staff made us feel very welcome, in particular Ruth at reception and Eddie in the bar. Food was excellent and reasonably priced. Car parking was also secure.

A gorgeous hotel in the perfect location! Staff was attentive,friendly and helpful! Pool was nice and it was good to have a door directly to pool area. The beds were comfy and the hotel was very clean. Restaurant had good food and breakfast buffet was good also. We only planned on staying one night but we added another night since we enjoyed it!

this hotel is different than most as the room windows are on an interior atrium . There are no windows to the outside, but has both inside and outside door access. The hotel is one we stay at quite often. Breakfast is as good as any we have had anywhere.

Honorable mention For Caylee and Demi! They were a lot of fun and engaging with my family. The late night desk lady (I think was the same from same night last year) was very helpful. Rooms are clean and the maids were buzzing about. This all points to great management. We are no longer driving straight thru to Vail from Dallas but staying overnight in Raton because their staff makes us want to.

I stayed at this hotel while visiting Raton for 2 nights and this hotel never fails to amaze me. It is always clean and meets all my expectations. All the way from the beautiful lobby to the clean and nice rooms. Hands down the best water pressure and hot water I have ever had at hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel.

I recently was traveling through Raton, NM and needed a place to spend the night. I am a member of Best Western so was delighted to find there was one in Raton. The hotel was a welcome rest after a very long day of driving. The staff was very friendly and helpful and professional. The room was extremely clean as were the linens and towels. The room and bed were very comfortable. I used the Wifi and it was fast. I also had the breakfast bar and was impressed with the variety and freshness of the items offered. I highly recommend this Best Western .

You will not find a better Hotel to stay between ABQ-Colo Springs. I travel a lot for work and wish I could take this facility with me to all of my destinations. Best Breakfast! Great Restaurant for Dinner.

There's not much to do in Raton, but this hotel has almost every amenity available. The suite was perfect for a short getaway. I wish I would have had more time to try out the heated, salt water pool. Next time, for sure!

This hotel in Raton, NM, is a marvelous place to stay. The restaurant has excellent food and service. The breakfast, that was included in the price of the room, was very extensive - much more than the usual free breakfast. You did not walk away hungry from THIS breakfast buffet. The overall appearance of the lobby was cozy and relaxed. The gift shop is open 24 hours - coffee available whenever you need it!!! The room was spacious, well appointed and comfortable.

This hotel had everything that we needed in a hotel. We had our own entrance to the room, plus an inside door through the interior court to a really good restaurant. The gift shop looked really great, although I didn't have a chance to shop there. Service was excellent and the room was clean and comfortable.

I really enjoyed this hotel. Staff was very friendly. They even laughed at my dumb jokes. Very clean and comfortable. The hotel bar was a nice place to get a drink and watch the game. I will probably stay here each time I am in the area. Breakfast was good. If they had waffles it would be awesome!!

Very impressed with this Best Western, particularly the common areas. Very beautiful. The toilets were a bit hard to flush and the one in our room ran continually unless we lifted the lid and stopped it. We reported it and they offered to fix it immediately but we told them to wait until we left. We needed to add days to our original booking and it was done very easily. Well situated among lots of restaurants and near freeway. Everything g looked new. We'd definitely stay here again. The common bath by the restaurant and gift shop was large, modern and very clean. This was the best restrooms I've seen at a best western.

We stayed at this hotel on our way to Colorado and enjoyed it. The room is well furnished and seems somewhat recently renovated. Beds were fairly comfortable and they also allow roll-aways. While I don't always enjoy the "motel" style of outside access, the special nature of these rooms with doors on the inside and the outside allowed for quick access to both the car, the pool, and the lobby/restaurant. Room comes with free breakfast which is on par/better than the average hotel breakfast. Potatoes are great, sausage is tasty, eggs are adequate. They offer a variety of condiments and juices. Pancakes are cooked on demand and delicious. The staff was exemplary during every exchange. We even left my daughter's stuffed cat toy in the room (I use the term "we" loosely here" and they found, rescued, and kept her until we were able to swing back by. My only non-positive review is that the pool, while roomy and indoors, is very much on the cool side. We were all shivering after about 15 minutes and huddle next to the heated water intake. All-in-all, a very positive experience. We would be delighted to stay here again.

This is an old style motel where one drives to the door of one's room, we like this convenience. The hotel has been renovated since we were here last. Service was pleasant and efficient. There is a restaurant in the hotel, a nice thing at the end of a long day. Breakfast was grear?

This hotel in Raton NM is great because on the on-site sports bar type restaurant. Once you pull in, you don't have to drive anywhere. Varied menu,large bar. Great bourbon steak! Park right in front of room.

We decided to stay in Raton after a long day of driving. We called the hotel and were quoted a price. Our mistake was not checking the check out bill but after two weeks of travelling we were always given the price quoted. In this case we were charged much more than the quote. I thought that as a Best Western we would be treated much better as the price was agreed when we checked in. While the room was good and the hotel restaurant was very good I am disappointed by the hotel and its staff. This is the only hotel on my American trip ( I am a Belgian) I can not recommend despite a very nice restaurant and staff servicing us food.

Nice hotel in Raton. Seemed like it was located in a decent part of the town, felt safe (drove through the downtown area the next morning). Very close to I-25. Staff was friendly and helpful. To use the business center computers, you will need to ask for the password at the front desk. From the outside, looks like a motel. Seemed like all rooms had an indoor and outdoor entrance which I thought was odd. Rooms could have used just a little more light. Only window was overlooking the interior of the hotel. There's an indoor pool, though didn't see anyone using it during my stay. Mulligan's (hotel restaurant) had decent food and is open until 8:30 or 9pm depending on business. Hotel guests receive a free breakfast buffet. Good food selection (scrambled eggs, sausage, ham, potatoes, pastries, yogurt, fruit, etc). There's, also, a gift shop in the hotel. Will stay again when in the area.

This older facility is very nice with clean large updated rooms. Staff was excellent Magures restaurant in the hotel is very good and reasonably priced, They also serve and excellent weekend buffet breakfast

Really dated, strange wall in middle of parking lot, pet freindly but no grass. Outside entrances, window units (do not like these) food was so bad at dinner that we did not got back for free breakfast.

Great restaurant and accommodation. Outside appearance is deceiving. Nice to be able to drive up to room yet be able to go to nice restaurant without going outside. Also has gift shop. Breakfast needs waffles or pancakes added.

This is the second time we have stayed here and this time was much different. Upon entering the room we noticed the back window was open even though it was chilly, and the heat was off. We turned the heat on and settled in. We were awaken at 1:30am by the smoke detector and a horrible smell of something burning. We immediately opened the door and window and called the front desk. They came over to our room and smelled the odor, and moved us to the room next door. So at 2am we are moving all our stuff next door, and they told us 2 times during this to make sure we call and let the know when we have our stuff moved, like they needed the room at 2am. Needless to say we did not get very much sleep. On the plus side it is a pet friendly facility.

the hotel is clean, newer, has a great indoor pool. The breakfast is delicious and the staff is wonderful, everyone is so nice and helpful. I like being able to park right in front of the door to our room and then use an interior door to access the hotel amenities. I travel between Denver and Santa Fe at least 4-5 times per year and will make this my stop from now on.

Excellent Hotel, had many not so good stays in Raton over the years as the hotels there were old and not kept up. Real pleased to find that Raton has a hotel that is in the 21st century. I will not worry in the future about staying in Raton, NM.

Good place to get some rest after eleven hours of driving. We left Austin and called ahead to confirm a “Late Check-in”. Everything was ready, the room was clean,comfortable and very large. Good breakfast the next morning and no hassle checking out.

We spent just one night here, but it won't be the last one. The hotel was clean, comfortable and the staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was the frosting on the cake. It was fresh and flavorful with an unusually large number of items to choose from. Pottery plates, real silverware and glasses made it seem more like a nice restaurant than a quick breakfast buffet. The staff throughout the hotel made you feel very welcome.

This hotel is beautiful but it doesn't look like it from the outside. The rooms were nice and the beds were so comfortable. This is not your typical layout. The Windows don't face the street but are on the opposite side of the room facing the pool and hang out area. Don't let looks deceive you!

Stayed there to visit Raton and the NRA Whittington Center. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel restaurant was good with convenient hours. Breakfast was included and was delicious. We would likely stay there on our next trip to Raton. The only reason this did not get my top rating is that housekeeping came loudly knocking on the door an hour before checkout with the "DO NOT DISTURB" sign hanging on the door.

This hotel has the best staff and breakfast of any hotel ever! We travel all the time and this is our very favorite hotel. The staff is great but the breakfast if amazing. They really go out of their way to make it special.

Very helpful, professional staff. Clean, quiet, well-constructed rooms with fast wi-fi. Nice variety at breakfast. Good restaurants available close by. Even though Cortez is a small community, this hotel was a great choice and up to "big city" standards for the staff and rooms.

Chose this hotel based on other reviews and SO glad we did! Spent our week traveling through 7 states and this hotel staff BY FAR nicest! Outside of hotel doesn't look as appealing as some, but once inside, it was great! Quiet, felt safe, nice decor, clean, accommodating, AND full breakfast buffet was DELISH! Even had fresh Hatch chile salsa! Highly recommend!

The great experience started as soon as I walked in the door. The lobby was very nice, staff helpful and everything quality. The room had an outside door convenient to my parking space, and an inside door in view of the pool. I used the fitness center but did not visit the on-site restaurant/lounge.

Found this room at last minute. Front desk we're friendly and helpful. Room was fine and actually liked I could park my car directly in front of exterior door. Also interio door to hotel. Breakfast was wonderful and owner greeted everyone at the door. Breakfast staff were hard working and went out of their way to find decaf tea. Only complaint was mattress was a bit lumpy. Great place to stay enroute

We stopped at the Best Western on the way to Santa Fe. The rooms are quiet and the beds and linens were above average for a travel hotel. The bathroom was only average. If you have kids, there is an indoor pool and the rooms have inside doors that give easy access to the pool. The breakfast was poor at best.

Nice premium Best Western situated just off interstate in Raton. Very convenient spot for travel between the mountains and the south. Room was clean and front desk extremely friendly and helpful. Center atrium is nice but can add noise to room.

Had a wonderful stay in Raton. Staff was very friendly and professional. Room was comfortable and quiet and the restaurant was excellent for dinner. The included breakfast was the best we had all week. Can't wait to come back again!

This is our 2nd time to stay here as we traveled from Denver to Amarillo. This hotel is really well run, very clean and attractive. They truly have the best free breakfast I've ever had. They have the normal pastries and cereals but they also have a station where you can make your on breakfast burritos! They were wonderful and had great green chilis! We took our dog with us as they have designated rooms and that works perfectly as well - you could pull right up to the door to unload and they out us on the first floor. The floors are all tile so once again- very clean even with a dog. There is a restaurant/bar on site and they close at 9 PM. There is a nice indoor pool as well and a gift/snack shop that is open 24 hours. Don't hesitate to stay at this lovely hotel!

Clean, friendly staff, tasty breakfast, comfortable room, spacious bathroom. I am not a big fan of rooms that open into a closed in pool but for one night, not a big deal. The room is a little pricey but that goes with the isolated location. Twenty miles further up I 25 are several motels that may be slightly less costly but overall I would recommend this motel.

I was very happy with room and staff. Would recommend this hotel to my friends and family. Nice midway point on the way to Montana. I would stay here again. Loved the waffles and coffee for breakfast.

The room had 2 entrance & exit doors which was nice, One to the interior hotel courtyard and one to the outside parking area.

Enjoyed my stay very much. All of the Staff I had dealings with were friendly, caring, welcoming and efficient. Enjoyed dinner in the restaurant, food was very good and relaxing with a drink was nice after a long drive. Only good things to say about this property. Like that there is a separate building for pets. This great for our pets and for the guests without pets.

Very clean, comfortable beds, large enough room for moving around without bumping into tables, chairs, etc. Really appreciated the space in the bathroom and the shelves for placing clothes, towels, etc. One person could be taking a shower while another could brush their teeth, put makeup on and such. Beautiful weather. Breakfast was an awesome selection of hot and cold items and buffet style. Seating was great, Customer service was above and beyond expectations. They have an amazing little shop of treasures and souvenirs that are very unique and priced to sell. The great room of the hotel is very large and accomodating. They have an indoor pool that looked extremely inviting but as we were on a strict time limit, we were unable to enjoy it on this visit. The guest bathrooms in the lobby are very clean as well, well stocked and plenty of stalls and privacy. Overall great value, beautiful hotel and unbeatable customer service!

Excellent hotel! We were traveling from Nebraska to Arizona for vacation and found this little gem. I don't normally rate anything excellent because there is always room for improvement but this place deserves an excellent rating! We would stay here again and I would recommend to anyone going through Raton, NM. Hotel staff was awesome, room was beautiful and comfortable. Restaurant had great food.

You'll have to carry your own luggage to the room and no one is going to valet park your car, but besides that inconvenience you're going to be treated to a hotel experience similar to what you get at a multi-star hotel in a big city! Of all the hotels I've stayed at in the world, this one reminds me most of the ultra clean and serviceable ones that I see in Germany and Japan. If I'm ever in Raton again for the night, this hotel will be my first choice.

The staff was excellent as they actually made our stay like being home away from home. Friendly and helpful was one and all. Everyone always had smiles on their faces and wanted to know if there was anything they could do for us. Check-in was a breeze. I was traveling with my parents, who are older, and it was great to have everything be hassle-free. When my dad briefly got separated from mom and me, Marsha at the front desk helped me look for him. I really appreciated the assist! Our rooms were clean and well-maintained. We had dinner in the restaurant. The service was a little spotty at times – they were slammed – but cheerful. Food was good. We skipped the free breakfast the next morning, but the coffee was fine. Rooms have both an outside door and an inside door that leads to the indoor pool area. I thought that might create a noise problem, but it was fine. Would stay here again if I were passing through.

A great place to stay if you are visiting Raton, New Mexico for any reason. This hotel is centrally located with easy highway access. Very convenient parking right out side your door. The room was comfortable. Modern TV with cable. Bathroom area somewhat small but clean and workable. Excellent very large and comfortable covered court yard with heated swimming pool. The buffet breakfast can't be beat for variety, taste, and atmosphere. Very nice restaurant and bar. If you need wi-fi, you got it. Even a small but quality gym is available. And everyone on staff was friendly, courteous and helpful!
