Clean room. Comfortable bed. Great if your traveling with pets. Great staff. Breakfast bar has grab and go OR waffles, eggs, my favorite biscuits and sausage gravy. Surrounding area has multiple options for breakfast, lunch, dinner. Never had a problem booking a comfortable room. Easy on and off I-95.
The bed and pillows were very comfortable and the room was very clean and well equipped. The outlet by the sink was not working and I alerted the staff. The breakfast was more than adequate. The staff was friendly. Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
The staff are the friendliest. I am going to recommend this hotel to my family for our family reunion. The price is right. Extremely clean. I am thoroughly satisfied. More than satisfied. This is now my GO TO PLACE. AWESOME. Try it, you'll like it. Amen
This is a no frills motel. The room was fairly plain but clean. I did not have a lot of faith in the strength of the door stop safety device. The shower had glass doors and was very nice. The air conditioning worked well. We were headed to Hilton Head and needed a reaonably priced place to gey some sleep. I would stay here again.
The facility seems to have been recently renovated. Clean and welcoming room and bath. Breakfast was included and had something for everyone. Employees were friendly and accommodating. Parking area was well lit. Restaurants are within walking distance.
Very clean and convenient. Breakfast is basic but it is a nice enough bite to eat passing through. You can tell the owner cares about the property. I only stayed one night and it had everything I needed. Likely, I would not choose to stay as a family trip.
An extremely clean, quiet and comfortable place to stay for a really great price! Very friendly, professional and personable staff. A full breakfast every morning! Plenty places to eat within walking distance from the hotel. I would definitely stay here again when passing through!
For a budget motel this place had everything we needed. Check in was easy and there are rooms on the same level as the parking lot for us people challenged by stairs. The cherry on the top was a nice selection of food for breakfast. We would stay here again.
Very clean, efficient, quick check in and wonderful breakfast. Hotel staff was very pleasant. Large bathroom. With everything we needed. The bedding was luxurious, too. The parking was easy and the parking lot was clean. Checkout was as fast and easy as checking was.
Fantastic place. It is spotless and the staff is great. Would stay there anytime The free breakfast is very good. And they were very accommodating with my service dog. They also gave me a veterinarian discount !!!!! Want a great place to stay when you are traveling. This is the place
We stayed here for 3 nights 1) The fitted sheets had little bumps all over them. Very scratchy and uncomfortable. 2) Garbage in Room not dumped daily. Smelled. 3) Big bag of trash in corridor outside our room for 2 days. 4) Towels not changed daily. Had to carry our dirty towels to front desk to get clean ones. 5) No accommodation for diabetic at breakfast (no sugar free jelly, syrup, etc). 6) No half and half for coffee. This is not the first time we experienced this at this place.
Check in was smooth and quick. Staff was very courteous and friendly. I liked that she offered first or second floor. Wasn't an issue for me, but bring what you need because there's no drinks or snacks to be purchased. The Room was immaculate. Bed and pillows super comfy. Slept like a baby. Premises were clean and I felt safe.
Just stayed there one night and it was very nicely renovated. The check-in was relatively easy, the room was clean and the staff was kind. The pancake machine makes 2 pancakes automatically with one wave of the sensor. So much nicer than some hotels that make you pour the batter into a cup and fill the waffle machine and tinker with all of the mess. Very cool machine. The coffee was above average. For dinner, The room is close to quite a few places to pick up food in the evening.
Due to a hurricane warning where we live in Florida we had to change our reservation in Manning, SC up one night and they were very cooperative. Once I went to check-in some guy was given the clerk a hard time about the rate. They finally got it straightened out. After he left she checked me in very quickly. And when I thanked her told how how nice and patient she was. We had the same room we had there 2 weeks ago and it was perfect. After a nice breakfast we drive out and didn't hit heavy rain til FL.
I didn't stay at this hotel. I had to go to a different hotel late at night while my husband was in pain dealing with a condition... The general manager Denny Patel canceled my reservation and said he would refund my money when I said I wouldn't pay a pet fee when my pet was staying in my car. They wanted to charge me $25 for leaving my pet in the car because I was on their property and then he said it was a bylaw to not leave pets in vehicles in South Carolina, which is a complete lie. There is no law in South Carolina or in Manning South Carolina about a pet in the car when the weather is good and it doesn't threaten their health or well-being. (It was cool that night-68°, and the constant transition from the car to the room is traumatic for my cat; we have no carrier). The girl at the front desk also lied to me twice. She said my card didn't get charged and my card was charged anyway. Then she said I had to go through Best Western corp to get it refunded. Best Western corporate said no, it has to be done by the hotel. I'm disputing it with my bank because the general manager hasn't bothered to call me back when I called corporate for a refund and they took a report of the incident and forwarded it to their hotel management team. I would not recommend these people! They are liars and thieves! And I made a phone call prior to booking the room about the pet fee so I wouldn't have an issue. And I've been staying in hotels across the country for 4 months and I have never had a single hotel charge me for leaving my cat in my vehicle.
The rooms are extremely comfortable. I love the water pressure. The area is quiet and peaceful. Everything is in walking distance if you didn't drive. The rooms are very clean. I can tell that they are adamant about cleanliness. And most importantly the staff is simply amazing.
SureStay Motel is well maintained, comfortable, affordable, and has a very nice breakfast. The bathroom has the best shower door I ever saw. The rooms are on the outside so there is no elevator or luggage carts. The room has a mini fridge and separate shower room.
They are working on renovating this building and they are doing a super job. The staff is always friendly and the breakfasts are always top-notch. And they have no problem with me bringing my great Dane on occasional trips. All all a really pleasant place to stay.
This was the best hotel I stayed at in a long time. I would recommend this hotel to any and everyone.
We got a late start, so it was after midnight when we decided to stop somewhere. This was a great fly by the seat of your pants choice. Single king room was quite large, clean, and quiet. The bed and pillows were comfortable and sleep came quickly. Breakfast was hot and with a decent number of choices and the close proximity of the hotel to I-95 made this the right choice for the price.
My husband and I traveled with our dog to Florida and stayed overnight at our midpoint in Manning, SC. We were thrilled at how clean our room was and how friendly and helpful the young ladies at check-in and checkout were. The location is convenient to food, church and other places we were interested in, and it's right off of I-95. We plan to stay there again on our way back up North.
Perfect place to stay! Very clean, and updated… Loved the king bed, and lighting in the vanity area. I traveled with my small dog, and, the hotel was very accommodating for us! Our stay was quiet, and the hotel is located near several restaurants.. The grounds are well maintained, and flowers were planted. Overall, a great stay in a very pretty. Hotel was located right off of I-95 in Manning, SC.
We stayed for one night on our trip home from Florida. We saw positive reviews on line and decided to try it. We were very pleased with the room, the staff and the breakfast. We have previously stayed in a town about 20 miles from Manning and we're not particularly happy with the rooms at those motels. We will definitely use this facility again on our next trip to Florida.
I got a first room that smells smoking really bad! They changed room to my convenience quick and easy. Clean sheets and towels. There is a fridge for personal use, TV and a table with the coffee necessities. They were all very friendly and polite! Thank you!
The room was extremely comfortable and we could have continued sleeping on the bed. Pillows a little firm but we always bring our own! Room was clean. Night staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good with a variety of food. Pancakes, eggs, sausage, toast, bagels, orange and apple juice, coffee and tea. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the morning receptionist seemed to be the person who was also taking care of the breakfast room and was constantly on her phone, even when she came in to replenish forks. The trash can with plates and cups was overflowing and hadn't been cleaned out for hours.
REFUSED TO RENT TO ME BECAUSE HE COULD MAKE MORE MONEY OFF SOMEONE ELSE WITHOUT A RESERVATION. 3/7/24 - I made a reservation online to stay here for 3/20, and 3/21 total cost of stay $216.65. 3/19/24 I Called hotel 803-473-5135 and asked if we could get a room on the 2nd floor. They said ok. 3/20/24 I checked into the hotel at 6:30 pm and front counter employee Caitlin. It was taking a few minutes; she called someone on the phone and said that I was on a Best Western List and that I could not stay at any Best Westerns. She said I would have to call corporate to see why Best Western is refusing to rent to me. She gave me the corporate number 877-237-8791 and I called from the lobby where I was connected with customer care. They said that they do not put guests on a list; individual hotels can refuse to rent to you but they have NO list. So that was a lie. Corporate office called Mr. Denny Patel while I was in the lobby and he told them I had an incident, but he refused to tell anyone what the incident was. I said there is some mistake; I do not have a dog, I don't smoke, I leave the room pristine. Corporate got back on the phone and said that the front desk would explain to me what incident had occurred. The front counter employee Caitlin said there was an incident, and she could not tell me what it was. I told her I'd like to talk to the manager/owner Denny Patel to see why he is refusing to rent to me? She said he would be in tomorrow from 9-10 am. I hand wrote a note and put my name, phone and asked Manager Denny Patel to call me. 3/21/24 no call back from Manager/owner Mr. Patel. 3/22/24 I called the hotel back at 9:08 am and spoke with Kendra. She said Mr. Patel was not in; I asked her to take my name and number; I told her to tell him I am still awaiting his call as to why I have been refused hotel rental. Here it is 04/01/24 and still no call back from Mr. Patel. If I'm on some refused to rent list, why wouldn't someone call from the hotel call and tell you your reservation is cancelled BEFORE you check in? Why wasn't my credit card charged for some incident fee if I did something wrong? After reading reviews from 10/2022 for this Best Western Sure Stay I finally figured out why he refused to rent to me. It was because I booked online and got a better rate than someone who was going to walk in that night and stay. It was spring break week, and his hotel was filing up. He could make an extra $20 a night if he refused me! In previous reviews he told other customers do not make a reservation online; they got ousted too! Just a note for the front desk staff, your manager is a crook, and he makes you do all the dirty work and puts you in harm's way so he can make a few extra bucks. Note to other travelers: If this happens to you or you just want to avoid this Sure Stay by Best Western Manning all together. Once we had no where to stay thanks for Mr. Patel after a 12 hour ride; we ended up staying right across the street at the Quality Inn, 3031 Paxville Hwy, Manning SC 29102 Phone: 833-962-2001. They recently updated 75% of the rooms; new furniture, new rug, new beds, updated bathrooms, free breakfast. It was quite lovely. It was nicer than the Best Western Sure Stay and cheaper! Sorry you didn't want to call me back Mr. Denny Patel maybe you'll read my review and see you really shouldn't treat people like this!
If staying here, keep your eyes peeled for the driveway to the hotel. It's just to the left of the Wendy's parking lot. If you miss it, you can get back to it from the Wendy's lot. The hotel sits far back from the road, we'll away from traffic noise. Check in was friendly and cordial. Rooms are accessed from the outside, not an inside corridor. Parking is convenient. The room was adequately sized and comfortable. The king sized bed featured four standard pillows. The room has a large flat screen TV, a refrigerator and microwave but we didn't try them out. Dining options in Manning are not ideal: mostly fast food and BBQ but there is a Shoneys within walking distance. Room darkening curtains were very effective! Breakfast is from 6 to 9 a.m. We did not awaken in time to try it.
Last minute reservation while traveling. Room was very clean, staff friendly. The motel was full and busy but very quiet. We were pulling a boat on a trailer and there was a full lot for trailer parking and easy in/out access . I would recommend this hotel and stay again
The front desk was very accommodating. The rooms were clean. Breakfast was decent. I've been staying at the best Western up and down I 95 for the last few years, and I found a few that are very clean, which I like
We booked this hotel for a one night stay on our drive from New York to Florida. We had a wonderful experience. The manager Danny was excellent, extremely helpful and courteous, he went above and beyond for us. Would definitely make another reservation there.
My husband and I stayed here overnight on our way from CT to FL using I-95. We didn't make a reservation prior to our arrival as we weren't sure how far we would make it on our first day of two days of traveling. Check-in staff very pleasant (one employee was being trained which was no problem for us). The room was on the first floor so no dealing with stairs. The room was clean, bed was comfortable, plenty of hot water for showering and location was very quiet. Breakfast was perfectly adequate for what we needed. Check out was simple. There were several restaurants and gas stations in the area. We would definitely stay again should be travel the same route.
Very convenient location and away from the traffic noise. The staff were very organized and the registration was smooth. Breakfast was hot and tasty. The most important part of our stay was that the room was neat and clean. It looked to have been redecorated recently. This all made for a pleasant experience.
Had a terrible experience this place was gross had a dirty washcloth hanging on shower curtain rod, the beds had hair and beads from jewelry or something on the sheets both chairs in the room were filthy. We checked in around 2pm put our luggage in the room and left came back at 8:30pm to go to bed and realized how gross it was. We asked for our money back and they refused. We left and got a room elsewhere I would never write a bad review if they tried to help us but they did nothing.
Nice and clean and quiet very reasonable price for the stay and the continental breakfast was very good and the girls at the desk were very friendly the 2 queen beds in the room were very comfortable the area where the hotel is has a great Mexican restaurant
Very nice for an overnight stay. Price was very reasonable. It is 2 floors with no elevator. Breakfast was good, people were friendly. Was right off the highway. We would stay there again on our way to Florida. Best part was the value for the price paid.
Pillows and bed were perfect and we got a good night's sleep. Room was clean. Well lit parking lot was great. Staff were friendly and accomodating. Restaurants all around and some in walking distance. It could not have been a better experience at SureStay in Manning SC.
Rloom was very clean and a nice size.. The staff very courteous and helpful. Had a full breakfast with options for everyone.. Best part was it was very quiet. We heard nothing from the outside our entire night. Great night's sleep.
Rooms were clean and smelled nice. The area was close to several eating facilities. Small town shopping was nearby. The hotel employees were all friendly and helpful. Did not take advantage of the free breakfast. Slept in late. Will choose this place again. Nicely updated.
It was a one night stay with my dog on a road trip. The room rate was reasonable including the pet fee. It was near numerous restaurants and right off I 95. I had a small problem on checkin and the check in young lady was most helpful and very kind. Bedding and towels were clean and fresh. I had a great sleep I heard no noise except in the morning when folks getting back on the road. I would stay again!
We stopped here overnight on our way to Florida. Ultra clean and quiet. Just off I95, but far enough that you don't hear the traffic. Great breakfast in the morning and friendly staff. What more can you ask for?
Comfortable bed and clean room. Very nice staff. Breakfast just fair but adequate. Safe area and reasonable price. Door opens to outside instead of hallway which I don't prefer but would stay here again.
I cannot give this more than 3 stars as the bed was so uncomfortable and we both did not get a good nights sleep. The carpet in our room was new and the room was clean. Would have rated higher if the bed was comfortable. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was so so for someone who watches carb intake. Plenty of other selections such as breads, pastries, waffles, juice etc. We did notice they were updating AC units and carpet so there is some updating taking place.
This is a five star hotel for their slot (cost and no frills). They were very helpful in getting us the best rates for several rooms at the last minute. The front desk is super friendly and helpful. All 5 of our rooms were clean and comfortable. I liked the firmer pillow- no piling up 5 pillows to get comfortable. Breakfast is basic with one hot choice, cereal, muffins, bagel, toast, yogurt and make your own waffles. My one complaint is the coffee (being from the Pacific Northwest we take our coffee seriously!) There are several restaurants within walking distance (Shoney's, Wendy's and Zaxbys) and several more just a quick drive. If we need to come back to Manning again I would definitely stay here again.
Very nice place. Clean and quiet. Our room's bathroom #114 was very dirty around the edges of the bathroom, otherwise room was quite nice. Breakfast was typical grab and go with waffles, biscuits and gravy (very salty with so-so biscuits and thin round egg pieces rubbery).
We chose Sure Stay Best Western of Manning, SC from reading all the great reviews, and we were pleased to find the reviews quite accurate! Our rooms were clean and comfortable for the 3 night stay, and the staff were all kind, cheerful, and helpful. The coffee the and breakfast options were fresh, tasty, and filling. We won't hesitate to stay here again. PS This hotel is pet friendly, and continues to maintain a high level of cleanliness for both pets and their humans. :)
I checked of ton of previous guests reviews of this facility. Fortunately it paid off they were right it was clean and quiet. My one complaint was when I arrived the front desk staff would not allow us to look at the room prior to booking. As it turned out it worked out because it was clean and pleasant. FYI at this facility the room door goes to the outside and not a hallway.
Top notch. Clean room and comfortable beds. Friendly staff. Enjoyed their breakfast presentation and ate it. Felt very safe at this location. Overall, we had a great experience. Thank you, Danny Patel, GM.
We were driving from FL to OC,MD to meet our family and usually stopover in SC. We have stayed at this hotel several years ago. It has been totally renovated and we noticed that as soon as we came onto the well-lit driveway. Our room was well appointed. The staff were friendly when I phoned to update our arrival by one day. Breakfast was very good. And we would recommend it to our friends and family.
The room was clean and everything worked well. There were extra touches, such as shampoo and a shower cap. A hot breakfast with eggs and sausage was included. The room was moderately priced, and we received value for our money.
I read the reviews before booking our stay. The reviews by other were mostly very positive. When we arrived I couldn't believe how clean the reception area was. We went into the room and again we were amazed how clean the room was and how fresh it smelled. The bed was as very comfortable, if I had to find an issue it would be more comfortable pillows. The wash area was very clean and stocked. There was plenty of water pressure for showering. The only issue there was the tub fill was very loose, maybe needed to be screwed in tighter and silicone. We were in room 104, so upon checking out I reported it to the very nice receptionist, and she told me she would report it to the manager. There is a small charge for having a pet, but at least you are walking on cleaned carpets. Other pet-friendly places we have stayed at were disgusting.
Booked online and went super well. Check-in was easy and friendly. Everything was clean. Staff was great and super friendly. To get from road is a bit sketchy. But once there everything is good. Will highly recommend this place to family and friends no problem.
To start with we have had some issues with some of the hotels in the Carolinas because of pets and smoking in most rooms even if hotel stated the room is not for those. One of the people in our party has breathing issues so this is a big problem for us. The room we received had none of those problems. Spotless and air quality was very good. The actual facilities were more than acceptable. Everywhere it was clean and appeared to be recently updated. The building was not super big so everything was in close proximity like ice, vending and breakfast area. Parking was close and safe. I would highly recommend this BW for anyone traveling with elderly or mobility difficulties. Shower was wheelchair accessible too. The staff at Manning Best Western was definitely above and beyond. We requires a wheelchair accessible room and it was the end of a long driving day, I made reservations through the website/app and put a notation for accommodations. We received not one but two phone calls asking for clarification for our needs and they gave upgrades to other travelers room requests (not in our party) to give us a room more appropriate for our needs….who does this anymore?!
Flights were canceled so had to drive to Florida from New Jersey. We Drove until we got tired around 1:00am. Found this place and was very happy clean an friendly. We would definitely stay here again.
Very clean & reasonably priced hotel with outside accessible rooms. I have stayed here many times over the last few years & have always found the staff to be friendly and helpful, rooms & bedding always clean & comfortable. A number of good restaurants are within walking distance. Free breakfast selections are limited but, there are enough items available to get the average person going in the morning or, Shoney's is 200 yards away for those that are hungry.
Rooms are clean. We liked that you could not smell the cleaning products when entering the room. Good pressure for water. Staff was very helpful. Beds are comfortable and if you need pillows there are plenty.
We were relieved to stay at this spot in Manning after many days on the road. It's so hard to find low-cost options that are actually pleasant to stay in. This place was clean, had great internet, and the staff was so friendly and accommodating.
The employees were friendly. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. They had a hot breakfast. The location is perfect and when other hotels were full thid one had rooms. Plenty of security cameras around the outside. Quiet. I would definitely stay here again.
We stay at Sure Stay every three months on our trip south after visiting our Grandchildren. They always check on our arrival time and make us feel welcomed. Breakfast is always a perfect blend of delicious items. Short story. We did not realize that our cat had escaped its cage in our car and drove all the way to Florida and saw the cat was missing when we arrived at home. We called Suer Stay and they did everything to help us find the cat until we arrived back to search. We did find the cat when we returned but all the girls went out of their way to help find him. There are not enough stars to give them
reviews didn't seem bad - so we tried it after a very long drive and a stopover on our way to Savannah. Don't do it. First - it is really a motel - not a hotel. All rooms have exterior doors and no elevator to get to the 2nd floor. Dragging your suitcase up and down is not fun. We were put in a room that smelled like someone was chain smoking in it all day long. I had just had to sign that I wouldn't smoke or I would be charge $250. Go figure. We moved rooms because we couldn't fall asleep because the smell was so bad. 2nd room was much larger - no smell but we didn't sleep all night because both my husband and I couldn't stop itching. Not sure what that was about - really old and scratchy linens... Bathroom is so tiny you can barely move. I won't be back.
Be careful if you have kids. The room was ok. But the disturbance was my young child was walking around the room and bumped her hands under a big mirror in the room and it fell down off the wall. The mirror came very close to injuring her, possibly pretty severely. Yet, when I brought this up to the hotel, they could care less. This mirror had very little support on the wall. Mirror had two small screws and was not anchored in any way. I voiced my opinion at checkout (they didn't care) - also sent a message to the corporate office - never received a message back. Would avoid this hotel. No compassion.
Very clean rooms and breakfast area. Easy check in and you can have your dogs Convenient to I 95 We would definitely stop here again on our way from Virginia to Florida Breakfast was ok and pricing was much cheaper Than some others
Our door had a huge gap between the door and the casing. The room was on the ground floor and open to the parking lot. I didn't feel safe in my room. There is a little security latch, but if the door is opened, someone could easily kick it in. The beds are encased beneath with sheet metal, which makes a loud clang when bumped with your shoe, which is difficult to avoid, as it is only inset from the mattress about 2”. The desk and chair are positioned at the foot of the bed nearest the bathroom, which made it difficult to access the bathroom when someone was using the desk. I at first thought the sheets were microfiber by their feel, but found the tag that indicated they were polyester-cotton. I almost forgot…my husband used the restroom in the check in area- you can't really call it a lobby- and it was so embarrassing! I could hear him urinating as I stood there checking in. There is obviously no sound proofing at all. I do not recommend this hotel. It wasn't even cheap! I expect more from a hotel affiliated with Best Western, and I won't forget this experience.
Clean room in a hotel being renovated. The renovation did not impact our 1 night stay. Pet fee was $20. Bed was comfortable, lighting in room new and very nice. A good number of usb ports. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would stay here again when passing through
The room was very clean; we stayed in pet friendly room and there was no pet smell or indication that other pets had been there previously. The parking lot was well lite. Plenty of areas to walk you dog. The breakfast had plenty of choices and the food was very good. Would highly recommend staying here.
For one night stay it is perfectly fine—clean and freshly painted/decorated rooms; comfortable bed; working (and silent) a/c; good water pressure. Didn't try breakfast. The problem was the noise caused by other guests (I presume, as I imagine there were no workers on duty at that time) talking loudly very late at night and early in the morning. May be signs indicating quiet time from midnight until 7 am and reminding guests about being considerate to other guests who need to sleep would help? After all most guests just stop for a one night sleep during road trips.
$40 for 2 small dogs. The front desk never said where to walk your dog but there is a large mowed field across the parking lot. No waste bags & no trash cans. Had to walk to where the lobby is to dispose of waste. Other pet owner's not so ambitious and chose not to pick up after their pet. Cheesy paper signs located on the front door and inside the lobby threatening to charge $150 for an undeclared pet. Under renovation but they should have workers pick up at the end of the day. Outside of our room was a tipped over garbage can, a shopping cart and a bunch of dirt and debris which was far from welcoming. The blankets on the bed consisted of 2 top sheets and a thin scratchy blanket in-between. The breakfast was the usual fare except it was not organized in a setup that is easy to find what you are looking for, the timer on the waffle maker was broken and the poor friendly woman in charge of breakfast was also working the front desk alone as well. On a good note, even though the room was dated it was clean and was not far off of 95 for an easy on/off when traveling. $159 for this room was not a good value for what we received.
No frills motel, that is comfortable, with a friendly staff, and good value. The room was adequate and clean despite lots of renovation dust outside. We liked having nearby restaurants to choose from.
Made last minute reservation as we were traveling north from Florida and needed a stop. The hotel is being remodeled and rooms were nicely done for the price. The bed was comfortable even after stubbing our toes a few times on the metal base. (You think we'd have learned after first time!) The lady at check in and check out was extremely friendly. The breakfast area was very clean and we had lots of choices available. Parking lot was brightly lit, all night long. It was New Year's Eve and even though a holiday, thankfully the hotel was pretty quiet and we got the sleep we needed. I would make one HUGE SUGGESTION, put weather stripping around the doors! There was pretty big gap and light/tiny bugs, and I hate to think other small critters could get in. We travel with pet and that strip of light/outdoor drove him a little crazy. And when his momma thought about what could get in, it drove her a little crazy too! Pet fee a little on high side for one night but we choose to travel with pet so we have to pay. $20 for one night. We would stay again in the future if we needed to.
Not a bad hotel, but too much work is going on. Opened up room and construction debris came into room. Same happened when opened the car door and trunk - floating construction debris. Wanted a different room if possible but was told it wasn't because I reserved via BW online!?!? OK breakfast, but too many carbs and the scrambled eggs tasted very salty. Oh, and once you get there, there's signs saying that even though there's construction, you can't cancel & get your money back. This place has potential, but not now. Walls are way too thin - heard TV from one room (all night) and early morning conversations from the other room early in the morning.
This used to be a nice place for the money, but it has really gone downhill. The room had not been vacuumed, questionable whether the sheets were actually changed on both beds. It appears to have become a long term stay for low income people in need of housing.
Good value for the money. Right off the 95. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Pet friendly ($20 fee). Room decor above average for this category of hotel. Only complaint is that the attendant at the front desk was unable to help when I called with a problem with the outlets. This was probably because it was at night, but I can't help but feel that even at this price point, there should be someone there to respond to problems, such as heating, faulty, toilet, etc. Would still recommend and will stay again.
Oh, is a nice hotel in the middle of an upgrade the room was clean carpet not so much, but the bedding sheets towels were clean throat was efficient in the staff was very very kind being sure to complete their job and making me feel like a valued customer.
Dropped by here for an overnight stay. Was a bit shocked when we pulled in - the outside is all under construction. Luckily the room we stayed in was ok. The night reception girl needs a few lessons on customer friendliness. The day time reception was great. Room is average but clean. Price $98 per night is reasonable. Breakfast was ok.
Great stop for those long treks up and down I-95. The property sits well back from the main road. There is great property lighting for evening or early morning dog walks. The property is in the midst of an exterior freshing which will only make it better. The rooms are clean and maintained. The staff is friendly.
After a long day of driving we had called hotels for over 2 hours with no rooms available! Feeling tired and frustrated we pulled off the exit and tried a hotel in person. They had no availability but recommended we try SureStay! Thankfully one room left and pet friendly!! The room was very clean with comfortable beds and actual pillows!! Front desk staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Continental breakfast offered many options for the whole family. They are doing renovations, but they stop early and start late morning. Will make this our first choice driving the coast again!
The owner made the deskclerk harass me bout booking online every time I come to pay for another stay, they would always tell me don't book online ,he had his deskclerk call me 6 in the morning telling me not to book online. The owner alerted his family I was staying at the property they stood by my room talking really loud angrily about me staying. The boss told me in a very aggressive voice to cancel my room stay on paper just because I booked online .He actually told me I'm not allowed to stay at the hotel anymore because I was booking online.Real talk true story! The parking lot is small I had to park on the other side of the hotel and walk back to my room.Room tv channels don't show title for shows.Just unhappy jealous owners that just can't seem to mind they business.
These are very comfortable rooms that have good pillows. The checkin is easy with helpful staff. Parking is easy. In the middle of remodeling the outside but quiet after 5 pm. Lots of breakfast choices too!
Although this hotel looks dated from the outside -which is currently being updated - they've gone to great lengths to update the rooms first. The beds and bedding are new, the shower hot and powerful. The staff was most courteous. A true gem of a small motel.
Everyone I encountered working here were so nice and helpful! It made my stay! They are remodeling and upgrading. The only thing I didn't realize were the doors were outside, not inside a building. And you can hear everything from inside the room. My Mom and I were traveling together and we felt safe. We do bring earplugs for hotels and that made all the difference to sleep at night. We also bring a safety bar for inside the door handle so that gave us piece of mind at night. We were visiting family in the area and really enjoyed the area! Beds were comfortable but comforter/blanket was super thin. We borrowed blankets from our family and then we were perfect. I wish I had gotten a couple of the girls names that work there to add them to this review because they were amazing!
If you want a stinky room, barking dogs, loud people pounding on doors. Hotel staff that says they will refund you because you check out early and then dont...this is the place for you. The worst hotel stay I have ever experienced.
My Mom, Aunt and I made reservations for two rooms while traveling. We had a flat tire and lost track of time to let the hotel know we were still on our way for the 4 PM hold. The hotel called to make sure we were still planning on staying, saving me a call and possible cancelled reservations. Thank you for the great experience.
We had a very pleasant stay here. Friendly and efficient people at check-in and check-out. Both the room and the hotel itself were very clean. Our king size bed was very comfortable. Lots of space outside to walk our dog. Highly recommend when you're in the area.
We needed a quick comfortable place to lay our heads and this place served the purpose. Front desk kind and quick to get us to bed. Room clean and the beds comfortable. We would stop again if we ever pass thru again. If you are ever going thru manning sc and need a place to relax, feel safe and have a good breakfast this is the spot.
We have been using this hotel for about 2 or 3 years. This has become our midway stop whenever we travel from CT to FL. We have confidence and piece of mind knowing that we have a nice clean and comfortable place to stay prior to leaving home!
This was a perfect spot to stay for our quick overnight stop. Everyone was friendly and the rooms were clean and comfortable. We had a great night of relaxing and sleep. I will stop again on my way to and from Florida.
Nice clean rooms, great for a stop over while traveling! Free breakfast was really good! We were grateful to find a nice place to stop and rest for a good price using Hotels.com. Only downside was the in room coffee maker was not cleaned so we could not use that. It was good for a motel, though!
My positive experience started with the sweetest, easy going, efficient check in staff person. It was 11pm and I had been driving since 9:30am. Her kindness was above and beyond for sure. The room was clean and had expected amenities. I can see why this hotel has other positive reviews.
This place is great. Staff is very nice and the cleaning ladies go above and beyond every time my husband and I stay there. Clean, close to I95 and several restaurants to choose from for dining. Have stayed here at least a dozen times over the last 4 years to visit family in the area.
This hotel is a dump! I was driving all night and day and needed to sleep. I found this hotel online and made a reservation based on the reviews. I knew the second I went into the lobby I had made a mistake. It was dirty, smelled and the furniture was dirty. There were funky decorations too. It was only 10 minutes since I made my reservation. I asked to cancel, and they would not let me because it was a non-refundable fee. I went to the room and it smelled. A terrible cleaning smell that you could tell was making other odors. The bathroom smelt like someone had just used it. The bathroom door had brown liquid stains on it that could have been cleaned. The furniture was stained. The handles to stuff were sticky, smudged and dirty. The floor by the sink and bathroom was sticky. My sneakers were sticking. The main door was messed up and you could see directly to outside in a big gapping opening along the door jam. I could go on but that is enough. Then I couldn't get a refund, so I just left. I called Best Western because I had made my reservation directly through their site. I send pictures I had taken, and they still wouldn't refund my room cost. Stay away please.
Sabrina was the best. She did everything she could to answer any and every question that she was presented with. I know this because for one I had several questions and secondly I watched her with other customers who may have come in frustrated and upset because they were stranded or what have you. If Sabrina did not know the answer to a question she didn't hesitate to call and find out what was necessary to effectively answer the question. I personally believe that it was her soft toned voice, patience and her ever so pleasant smile that diffused any and every situation that could have been bad. In fact a lady was very frustrated and aggressive towards her while I was in the office and she realized her actions and repeatedly apologize and stated that she was just tired. I would go back just for her services. Also the lady who checked me out with the two-tone colored hair was very nice as well. I live in Georgia and I think perhaps either Sabrina or the both of them should come here to Georgia and give a few lessons on customer service. I have not had customer service like Sabrina's in quite some time. The other ladies that worked housekeeping were very nice. They didn't appear to be angry irritated and to hate their job as I have seen in most hotels recently which were a lot more upscale than this motel. I hate that Manning is in such an awkward place otherwise I would go back just to visit the town. Thanks and yes I would recommend it to any and everybody. Oh yes and the rooms were very clean and up-to-date just a little small for my taste but I'm used to much larger rooms and to hotels other than that I would not have traded the experience. They're also easily accessible to the mystic center or wherever it was that we had to go.
I enjoyed my stay at SureStay Hotel in Manning, South Carolina once again. The room was clean and comfortable the breakfast was very good. Without hesitation I will gladly recommend the SureStay Hotel to my family and friends.
This was a last minute stay in Manning and I'm so happy I chose SureStay. The staff was extremely welcoming and accommodating to my every need. The space was not fancy, but had everything necessary to feel comfortable. Everything was clean and the water was hot.
Soooo we had our family reunion and we booked here. First let me say they have the appearance of a motel but definitely had the service, cleanliness, and friendliness of a star hotel. The breakfast was great. The staff was friendly the rooms were updated and nice. We had cable, refrigerator and microwave. I've stayed in 5 star hotels and had to fight to heat up food. The owner was very nice and accommodated our family to all be next to each other. The Hampton Inn was right next door but so glad we opted to stay at Surestay. Can't wait to stay here again.
Wonderful stop on our drive down to Florida from CT. we arrived at 3:45am exhausted but met with a friendly face. Room was perfect. Clean, comfy and helped us to recharge. An amazing price. Breakfast was delicious and always restocked. Lady was cleaning the floors constantly to sweep up crumbs. Highly recommend over the prices of other hotels nearby.
Our stay was for one night, last minute, arrived late. 2 adults and 2 65# dogs. The clerks, both night and morning, were very pleasant and sociable. We got the King Suite bc we wanted some room for our pups- did not disappoint. The room was huge, very clean. I saw no evidence of other animals in the room and had no odors. Small fridge that worked and microwave. Plenty of walking space for your dogs. Security cameras everywhere. The included breakfast was similar to what you find at Holiday Inn, still good. My only suggestions would be- a table in the room as the two of us had no place to set our food to eat in the room, and maybe a fenced in area for pups to run off leash after being on the road. Overall a highly recommend and will plan this as a stay over on my next long trip down I-95.
Hotel and room were clean. Staff was very friendly. Continental breakfast was the standard muffins, cereal, juice, coffee, waffles, yogurt, fruit. Good location right off of 95. Some restaurants and a grocery store nearby. I would stay here again.
CLEAN AND VERY NICE STAFF. Check in was fast and easy. Breakfast area was clean and fully stocked. Coffee was amazing!!! The Waffle station was my baby's favorite and the fruit was fresh. The cleaning staff wasn't over nearing at checkout time either. Over all it was a great stay.
Really nice people who work there and will take care of anything you need. Always have a great stay @ Best Western in Manning. Excellent clean rooms and they always have a great breakfast in the morning.
Hotel has been mostly remodeled but tubs are older, staff was really nice and helpful. Breakfast said it would be continental but ended up having biscuits and gravy and fried eggs along with the pastries and fruit.
We stayed at the Manning Surestay on 5/15/21. What a difference from the stay we had at another Surestay on 5/7/2/. The Manning Surestay was clean, fresh and inviting. The room was very nice, new tv, no odors and well stocked with towels, coffee, etc. The staff very friendly and helpful. The other, not so much. We have stayed at the Manning location many times and would stay there again without hesitation. The other location which we use going northbound from Florida will not be our choice again. Kudos to the Manning staff and management.
Really nice. Clean with a friendly staff. Every one was very helpful. Breakfast included. I think this is a family owed business. They are located at SC I95 exit 119 very accessible. Shoney's restaurant is next door too.
Desk closes at 11 pm. No elevator. Sets back from road so it is quiet. But, at nighttime, the driveway is a little challenging to discern from the Wendy's driveway and another hotel entrance. However, easy access on and off 95. Breakfast was good (waffles, eggs, sausage, etc). Outside entrances to rooms. Not the Hilton but fair for the price. We would return.
The hotel was clean, reasonable and adequate. It is just off of Route 95, walking distance to a couple of fast food restaurants. Breakfast was hot -eggs and waffles. I would stay again. Shoshone next door has a buffet. Food not bad! Just what we needed.
This was the worst stay experience I have ever had. One of the employees (Mayshell), and the property manager (Denny Patel), made a fraudulent and ilegal charge on my credit card. I was given the final statement when I checked out ($111) fully paid. Three hours after that, Mayshell called me asking for a stain in the sofa. I told her that stain was already there when we arrived. She told me I would NOT be charged for this, but after ten minutes I received another invoice folio which I did not authorize, signed or agreed too, with an extra $150. (I have pictures of both invoices, the first legal and second fraudulent. I am victim of FRAUD. When I called to the hotel about this, Denny Patel started screaming and yelling at me, asking me in a very nasty, morbid and sexually harassing way: "Tell me what did you do on the sofa to get it wet, if you tell me I will give you the $150 credit, tell me, tell me". TOTALLY DISGUSTING BEING SEXUALLY HARASSED OVER THE PHONE BY THIS MAN. Denigrating and unacceptable. Also, before checking out, at 10:15 am, someone tried to enter the room without knocking. It was very scary. Will never stay at this hotel again where the manager sexually harassed me and yelled me over the phone, my money is being stolen my making an unauthorized charge in my credit card and staff does not respect privacy of the guests.
Stayed twice in past year on long road trips. Clean rooms, quick check in and out, and a great area to walk a dog. Did not have breakfast SSO can't rate that. A few restaurants and gas options nearby. All in all, a decent place for a short stay while on a road trip.
The people who manage this hotel are extremely helpful and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. The rates are also good. If you stay longer than a couple of days, pay for several and you'll get a discount. Enjoy your stay, we did.
The place is older but very clean. The staff was helpful and courteous. The bed was comfortable and bathroom was clean. The continental breakfast was really well done, including fresh scrambled eggs with sausage, waffles, cereal, yogurt, fruit, oatmeal, bagels, sweet rolls. The coffee was good, and they offered hot chocolate and tea (decafe and regular). It was convenient to Route 95 and nearby restaurants. A good value. We will stay thre again.
The Sure Stay was not a luxury hotel by any means but it was convenient, clean, quiet well run hotel. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The TV worked well and there were plenty of outlets for charging devices. Bathroom facilities were clean and serviceable. We've stayed at some other hotels on road trips on the way to somewhere and this hotel is the one I would stay in again.
Easy access off 95 S. About 8 hrs(w/ stops) from Southeastern PA. Lots of fast food places to eat. Easy check in and out. Clean rooms with microwave and mini fridge. Quiet area, Comfortable sleeping. Nice variety for breakfast. Friendly staff
I was satisfied with the accommodations. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend to others. The room was spacious and very clean. The grounds were also well kept. When I'm in the area I will be staying at the SureStay.
Very clean and modern room would highly recommend. The staff was friendly and helpful. We did not have a reservation as we were traveling home and did not know where our location would be. Tried another hotel that was sold out and they recommended this one. Very surprised on how wonderful it was.
After seeing a photo of this place, I suspected that there was no elevator to the second floor. This was confirmed when I contacted them prior to making a reservation for one night. The hotel associate was very accommodating on the phone in that she would place me in a room on the first floor. Upon arrival, that promise was honored. I stayed in Room 107. The staff was pleasant, and the Check-In was easy. It was a clean room, with easy internet access and fast internet speed. All items in the room worked. The night was quiet and comfortable. And the cost for the night was very reasonable. The only thing that keeps this establishment from receiving 5 points from me is that I felt the continental breakfast was just mediocre. Perhaps it was because I came in closer to the end of the scheduled breakfast time. There just wasn't too much out to choose from. Anyway, that wouldn't be a deterrent for me to come back. If the situation arose where I would need lodging in that area again, I would certainly choose SureStay.
Clean, modern, updated, place to stay. Plenty of hot water for a hot bath, clean sheets, clean fridge that even froze my cooler packs. Truly a gem, and a great value. My only complaint - please no CNN during the AM breakfast - all of us prefer Fox.
This is a great little spot, clean rooms, wonderfully polite and helpful staff. A nicely stocked breakfast bar which is included with very tasty coffee. Entrance a little hard to find as it is set back from the road, but look for the Wendy's and Shoney's and it's between the two. Pet friendly as well with a nice open field adjoining the parking lot.
Not for kids. Drugs onsite. No elevator, so not accessible for those with certain disabilities. Staff unpleasant and unknowledgeable. No accountability for any of their practices and actions. Room was decent but small.
Nicely appointed room, very clean, comfortable bed. We had a pet room, absolutely no smell whatsoever...except clean. The staff was very nice and helpful. All around great hotel, truly one the best hotel stays we've had.
Restful night, warm, very clean ,well appointed room. Good breakfast choices. Friendly staff. The hotel sign is Is there but the road is so small between The Hampton Inn and Wendy's , it was hard to recognize in the dark. Easy walk to Wendy's or Shoney's to eat. Many other food choices close by too!
Bed was very comfortable, room was clean, got a good nights rest, location was quiet and convenient. Definitely would consider staying at Sure stay again. I liked that we could park right in front of room so we could keep an eye on the car and contents.
Excellent accommodations! Very clean, staff was exceptional! We were traveling late into the night and had to stop at 1:30 am. Front desk staff was friendly, attentive and expedited check due to the late hour. Will definitely stay again!
Convenient location and quiet. Nicely updated and very clean. Bed firm but comfortable. Traveling with small dog. Pet fee good value $20. There is a limited number of restaurants in the area however they are right near the hotel. I can definitely recommend this hotel for short stays. Clearly the owners take pride in their property.
Our room was very clean and the staff were all very pleasant. We had a nice breakfast, even though they said it was limited. Waffles, biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, bagels, pastries, cereal, coffee/tea/milk/juice were all available for us. There was a nice pet area to walk our little dogs. All in all it was a very nice stay!
The hotel was clean enough, but is in need of updating. The breakfast was good and the hotel staff was pleasant. The shower was powerful and hot. The bed was comfortable. Some of the walls had chipped paint, as well as the shower, was chipped and old. Had kind of that funky hotel smell. They do accept pets.
I woke up with bites on my chest. I took off the pillow case to investigate and found black hairs on the second case. We do not have black hair! The door had gaps around it large enough for bugs/mice to walk right in.
Easy check in. Clean room. Very pleasant staff. Right off I95 but set back from the main road so nice and quiet. Plenty of food choices nearby. Decent breakfast. All in all, a good stopping point on a drive down south.
Cold, detached, surly reception. Cold and inadequate food at breakfast - No eggs, soggy biscuits, cold and tasteless sausage gravy, beat up apples as only fruit, Worst of all - tub was extremely slippery. No bath mat...I almost killed myself in the shower, MUST fix this!
The place is super cute in my opinion. It looks like a little house in the front with the rooms behind. The parking was somewhat sparse but the room was super clean and nice. The lobby was a little on the smaller side but it was still well maintained.
This motel is very clean. Our room was clean and well maintained. Getting a hot breakfast along with many other choices was a wonderful change from our recent travels. It is a little hard to find back in off the road but well worth finding. All the staff and the new owners do their jobs with care. A real gem!
Had a very nice stay here for 1 night. The room was clean and smelled fresh when we walked in! Bed was comfortable and I loved the chaise in the room.. Would definitely stay again. Our dog liked it too.
Very nice and clean family run hotel. When I needed a local ride but couldn't get an Uber or Lyft the owner stepped up and gave me a ride. I am very impressed with their help in a very tough situation.
This is a newly remodeled hotel and we were very happy with everything. The staff is very pleasant and helpful. The rooms were ran and comfortable! We did not venture down to the breakfast . Will return again!
Great accommodations, good price, updated rooms, and breakfast! Good choice of restaurants nearby, easy on and off from route 95, polite checkin desk staff.. Had some noisy neighbors to early am, but somebody complained and they were asked to stop Did appreciate automated text at 5:30 asking for survey, wait till 9 am at least??
Excellent service. Extremely clean room. Large area and well lighted for walking the pups. Convenienly located off the interstate but the entry road to the property is just a little bit ambiguous, pay attention to the signs. Highly recommend this property.
The rooms were very nice and the service was great. No complaints. The team was very helpful and knowledgeable. The grounds were well kept and even though the facility was quite full the noise level was extremely low.
We have stayed here several times in the past 2 years. Rooms are large and clean. Value is excellent. Staff is friendly. Very close to I95 at exit 119. Plenty of choices for food as well. Always a great stay. See ya soon!
Place was clean and well maintained. Every single staff we met were professional and had a very positive attitude. We were very happy to see that. Other recent places we stayed at were full of overworked employees. We don't blame them though for their negative attitude. SureStay served hot breakfast. Another refreshing experience compared to other hotels serving grab and go breakfast. We traveled with a small yorkie and understand the challenges of keeping a place clean. But SureStay exceeded our expectations. Our room was perfectly clean. Last pet friendly place we visited was filthy and full of stains throughout the room. I highly recommended SureStay specially when traveling with pets.
If you're tired and traveling north or south in SC and need a great extra clean, quiet and exceptional stay experience, please don't pass this diamond up. The price is outstanding and exceeds some 4 star hotels! You'll leave thinking you should have paid more!
I'm a recently widowed female who had an amazing experience at SureStay. I was traveling alone and Denny, the manager, went above and beyond to help me when my car broke down. The rooms were wonderful and more than met my expectations. I was looking for a quaint, quiet place to stay and this was certainly the place! The entire staff was friendly and helpful, and the breakfasts were delicious! I felt safe in the area. The hotel was conveniently located near restaurants and a Walmart and I walked to both (although the Walmart was probably about 1/3 mile away). The hotel is, however, not located on the main road so I drove past it the first time. Denny created a loyal patron and I stayed here on my return trip. Thank you, Denny, and a big thanks to your awesome Father! May God bless your family!
A return visit usually means that the previous visit was acceptable, and so it was this time also. Conveniently located off the interstate, this hotel is clean, offers nice accommodations, offers the basics that one would want, and has a pleasant staff. The hotel is a non-smoking hotel and accepts pets with an additional fee for each one.
The hotel is really showing its age. At minimum, it could use a paint job and some updating. That part can be overlooked but the real problem is the smell. There is a sickly sweet fragrance that pervades the lobby and the guest rooms. If you have sensitivities, go elsewhere. I will not ever return.
I stayed for 3 nights in May 2021. The front desk staff was very pleasant. The room was very clean and the property well kept and lit at night. I would stay again. I was able to walk next door for breakfast too as they only serve until 9am.
Was traveling home from family vacation in Florida. This was suppose to be one of our stops along the way. We received a call saying our daughter was involved in a accident. I immediately call booking.com told them of my situation, and they told me they would email hotel, and they did. Because it was not far off our main travel route, we decided to stop and make sure everything was ok. They would not wave cancellation fee. I tried explaining what had happened, but the gentleman at front desk said no exceptions,so I paid cash for night because we needed to get home.when I asked for a receipt I realized he put it on card we used to hold room. To this hotel where is your human compassion!
Hotel was older but beds were new. Nice to have an affordable place when traveling with a dog. My only complaint was getting texted at 5:20 in the AM waking me up a couple days after my stay wanting me to review the hotel.
I'm here for a few weeks for work and have stayed at multiple hotels in the area. This one is by far the cleanest and nicest. The rooms are newly renovated. I felt very safe as a solo female traveler. They have a full Hot breakfast. I'm extremely picky when it comes to hotels and this one checks all the boxes. Plus you can't beat the price! I'll be staying here again.
Good hospitality shown while checking in and out. We skipped the breakfast offerings since it was basic grab and go packaged stuff. Decent value for the price & close to a few chain restaurants. The only drawback are that the walls are thin and you could hear conversations clearly.
Very pleased w the accommodations, thought being small it might not be as well taken care of, but extremely pleased w the room, location and amenities! Highly recommend, but they were completely full, make our reservation as soon as you can, they will fill up, in our experience
We travel back and forth from the north to winter in the south every year. A few years ago we discovered SureStay in Manning. What a wonderful place. Always courteous and helpful staff. Rooms are clean. Beds are comfortable. Love the outside access with no need for elevator. Perfect location for us to stop for the night and restaurants are nearby as well as gas stations.
Traveling from New York to Florida. very nice staff and specially DENNY very helpful. nice room and helpful staff. We stay here rather than Santee. Easy off the highway. Very quiet stay always. Nice front desk staff. Clean rooms. Ice machine too plus coffee in the room. HBO too! First and second floor rooms and front room parking. A nice experience
If you're looking for a quiet night stay, don't stay here. The walls are paper thin. We could hear conversation in the room next door and their alarm woke us up at 6 am. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. We left on a Sunday morning expecting to get the breakfast advertised. At 9 am they had just begun to set up breakfast so we were unable to have breakfast before leaving. We won't be staying here again.
Although the property has been maintained in good condition recently the new management is indifferent to the guests and does not maintain quite hours. We were rudely disturbed by a bunch of partiers after 11:30 p.m. No attempt by the management to keep things quiet, Not even quiet hours posted. Saturday night is not a good night to stay here as it seems they are renting to local partiers.
Nice hotel, but not worth $130 for a night, Stayed 2 weeks before, and it was $100. Front desk said there was an increase? No breakfast anymore, just coffee, and stale muffins. Room has been updated, but fair beds, and cheap faucets, and toilets. Flush 3 times to get to work. This is upper hotel prices for average room with pets. Stayed here 6 times before for less than $100. Now $20 per dog, is it that much more for 2 dogs in the room? I used to show dogs, and most places give a flat fee. My wife used to be a hotel manager that allowed pets at her hotel. Will look for another place in the area for our next stay.
Nice clean pet friendly place to stay. Staff was very helpful and pleasant. Would stay there again. Breakfast was limited due to Covid with grab and go options only. Great value for the price per night.
We've stayed twice, & both times met our expectations. Clean & comfortable rooms & beds. Due to COVID, they offer a grab & go breakfast. It was adequate, but I'm sure would have been better to eat in. Staff was friendly. Directly off I-95 with food options in walking distance. No complaints & will stay here again.
We stay here rather than Santee. Easy off the highway. Very quiet stay always. Nice front desk staff. Clean rooms. Ice machine too plus coffee in the room. HBO too! First and second floor rooms and front room parking. A nice experience!
This was my second stay at this hotel and I continue to be impressed with the service and cleanliness I observed. I will stay again with my dog when my travels bring me by this way. I recommend this hotel!
I have never had a roach in my room and I travel a lot. It was on the doorway entrance to toilet room (I have a photo!) Therefore, a shower and hotel breakfast were not in the cards. When I noted my concern to the manager, he said I 'probably let it in through the door." No concern- no promised action to prevent future guests from having the same experience. My room was close to the food serving area. Yuck!
The rooms are spotless. Stayed 3 nights. Bed was ok but not the greatest. You can tell the owner of this hotel really cares about cleanliness. Also lots of outlets and USB chargers. Would definitely stay again
It looks like the rooms have recently been redone. They were very clean and we felt very comfortable staying there. Other guest were very quiet and we got a great night's sleep. Since breakfast could not be served, we received a "bag breakfast" which just hit the spot. Our" go to" spot while on the way to Florida. See you soon!
Stopped here on the way to Sufside. It was Labor Day Weekend so prices in Myrtle Beach were highly inflated. We just needed a clean place to sleep for the night. This place did the job. No frills but clean. Priced seemed high for this type of Hotel, but it was Labor Day weekend and and this was a lot cheaper than MB. I would stay here again in a pinch. Check in was quick and easy as was check out. Should have asked for a copy of bill as never received the email I was told would be sent.
We had a great stay. The staff is extremely pleasant. Special shot out to the General Manager Denny Patel, he went above and beyond. So very helpful and friendly. I encountered no problems during my stay and I would definitely stay here again.
If you are looking for a vacation spot, with the kids; this may not be the place for you. However, if you are traveling and are looking for a safe, clean, comfortable and convenient place to stay, for you and even your pet, then this is the place! I am not a pet owner, but I could see that the Pet owners were pleased with the surrounding grounds. I am not aware of any negative comments that anyone has written, so I can not share my experience/opinion on the topic. But, I concur with all of the positive comments that I have read. My only suggestion to the management is: Put the word "PUSH" on the area of the hand sanitizer dispenser that is to be pushed. I tried to use it two times, on different days, before I received instruction. I thought it was an automatic dispenser that was empty.
I liked the room i payed 140 to stay here! Not bad for a hot jucuzzi inside. After, leaving this hotel charge my card 150 cleaning fee! Are you serious no. That is ridiculous! Nowhere in there contract they said they charge that much for cleaning a room. Than after that he started to say some bs about the flowers that i left in the tub. First of the crazy part is i brought bleach to clean the room bc it smelled when i got there. Im not the type to complain so i went to walmart and brought sanitizer to clean the room bc it didnt smell clean! It had a bug in the tub when i got there! I will consult with my friend who is a lawyer about this bc nowhere in the contract did it says anything about charging an addition 150 for cleaning! Thats what you suppose to do clean the room. I paid for a room, im suppose to clean the room too once i leave??? Are you kidding me. You was mad about flower petals thats the only thing i left. After telling you you charge 150 cleaning fee than he added well the flower pedals got in my jet... I said i was gonna booked this room once a month this exact room when i come visit my boyfriend but after this bad customer service he will not recieve my business again.
Very very nice clean and comfortable. I enjoyed my stay there. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The front desk was nice and friendly, it wasn't over crowded and the whole facility was clean and very nice.
This was my first experience at a best western. The staff was friendly and check in was easy. I reserved my room online the day before. The room was cozy and very clean. I encountered no problems during my stay and I would definitely stay here again.
I travel for work and get to stay in mid to luxury properties almost every week. When we needed a place to lay down for a few hours (with our dogs) on the way from Florida to PA, I didn't want to spend a lot of money. The SureStay was great and fit the bill. Newly renovated, the rooms were clean and well-furnished. It wasn't crowded since we were traveling during the corona virus shut-down, so I can't comment on noise from other guests. We also didn't eat breakfast during this time - social distancing after all! Overall, if you need a stop over, this was a clean place to rest your head.
We're here tonight, midst the corona-virus, absolutely clean and immaculate, thank you. Stayed here for our annual trip to FL back and forth very consistent. Very dog friendly. Stay safe, wash your hands, don't touch your face.
Impressed by how well run and maintained this motel is. Very clean and comfortable too. Loved the hew high tech coffee machine in the breakfast room. We've been stopping here for three years now for its convenience and reasonable rates and because it is pet friendly. Its change in management has resulted in significant improvements. Great job.
I didn't realize we had stayed there a few years ago while traveling to Florida, otherwise I would not have booked it again. I thought since it was associated with Best Western it would be good. Our room was OK and the bed comfortable. The walls are very thin and in our case, we heard a baby crying and later a dog barking as if they almost were in our room. Not something we wanted to hear after driving 500 miles. The next morning breakfast was not good at all. Hardly any selection. It looked at a cheap setup. The hotel was clean and the reception was good.
Needed a stop-over to break up a 16 hour car trip from Florida back home to North Carolina. Chose this location because it was about half way and the price was right. I'm glad I did. I had never stayed at a SureStay before so didn't know what to expect. But everything went as well or better than expected. Check-in was fast and easy, I could park 15 feet from my room entrance (all rooms exit to the outside of the building), the room was clean, comfortable bed, nice flat screen TV, coffee maker, everything I needed. Free breakfast the next morning and I was on my way- conveniently located right off of I-95. Having a Wendy's within 100 yards of this property was nice too- after a long day of driving the last thing I wanted was to drive somewhere to eat. I will stay here again.
I only stayed for one night. The room was clean, the location just off of I95 was excellent. Breakfast was very good. The counter people were very accommodating and nice. The only negative I had was that I didn't like the small lights in the room. Had to use the overhead bright light because there were no standard lamps. Overall it was a good experience and I will use them again.
We stayed here the night of January 21 after speaking with the front desk clerk from the road and being assured that plenty of second-floor rooms (our preference when traveling) would be available. Upon arrival we were not disappointed and, although the hotel seemed rather full judging by the number of cars in the lot, were quickly placed in a 2nd-floor room by the friendly and efficient clerk. Our room was spotlessly clean and nicely appointed for a lower-priced hotel. The shower had very good volume of hot water with good pressure. The building was very quiet overnight, and the hotel sits just far enough away from I-95 that we couldn't hear the highway at all. In the morning we enjoyed one of the best hotel breakfasts we've had in years; there was a wide selection of breakfast foods, all very fresh. The clerk who checked us out was friendly. For us there was no downside to our visit, and we would readily stay here again.
I've stayed at this location before, the 1st time, not too bad. This second round, i beleive that the desk clerk that waited on me was also more than likely a tenant in a room there. she had great pride in this place, letting me know that the hotel was awesome, and over the top in quality. The bathroom door was held open by a trash can, when closed, it wouldnt latch. The check in was rude, I needed a late check out, as a DIAMOND SELECT MEMBER in which my company has spent well over $37,000 in BW branded hotels in 2019, this location wouldnt let me have an hour variance. i had no choice as i was in meetings. They charged me another nights rate. in which when i got back to the hotel to check out, i gathered my things, went to the desk and told them, that i was gone, and that becuase of their greed, that they were welcomed to re rent my room. Which by the way, there were no more than 5 vehicles / rooms rented while i was there, Wouldnt one think, that a hotel could have made a variance , knowing 1) that i was a Select member, loyal to the brand 2) that the hotel had several rooms available. My last stay here, because of greed and rudeness . I'll pass the word to my clients, that , in the past recommended this location. We are all in the service field. So sad.
Very clean newly renovated hotel. Nice safe area. Friendly staff, pleasant stay ! Good choices for complimentary breakfast! Would definitely look for Another Sure stay Best western on our travels back home.
The room was functional, but simple. Very, very clean! Smelled new! and the bathtub sparkled! Only 2 bath towels, 2 hand towels and 2 washcloths. Breakfast was just average. Eggs were poorly made. Run-of-the-mill places for dinner in walking distance.
Stayed while traveling south. Off the road but very convenient to I 95. Food and gas close by. A nice small motel with very comfortable beds and bedding. Good breakfast selection. So nice to have a clean, quiet motel that accepts our golden retriever.
This hotel sits back from the main road so it is quieter than most. Very comfortable room. Excellent price. Friendly staff. Entrance is a little hard to find. Free breakfast with eggs and bacon. Nice toiletries.
Very nice stay. Gentleman on the front desk was very good. He did a very good job dealing with two couples in front of me that were difficult to deal with. And kept apologizing to me for the delay. Very good job.
We have now stayed at this hotel 4 times and its clean, comfortable, pet friendly, and offers breakfast. It is right off I95 about midway when we travel during the holidays from Florida to the DC area. Highly recommend it.
We needed a decent place for an overnight enroute to FL. Saw some great reviews for this small, cute hotel and the price was right. Crystal at the front desk was friendly and welcoming. Our room was clean, bed comfortable and breakfast included in morning was fine. We would definitely stay again in our travels. I took 1 star off because the bathtub needed a little more cleaning out but all in all a nice overnight.
We booked a jacuzzi suite on Best Western's website @ SureStay and included a message that we were traveling with our small bichon frise. Arrived at the hotel and check in. Then come to find out that room isn't available for stays with pets. So, after calls to various people, the night check in person gets us a room 2 steps down in grade and assures is that the correct charges will be adjusted when we check out. I took a screenshot of the room and rate to be sure I wasn't over charged. Good thing I did because they did overcharge and it took my standing my ground to get the proper rate. Not a nice manager/ owner. But wait, there's more and it's juicy! There was a 20 year old woman in the next room turning tricks! 3 cop cars came in at 8 am! I could go on about the sketchy guys smoking and drinking in the parking lot, the thin walls and thinner towels, but the hooker takes the prize. Do not stay here!
Made reservation from the road. Easy on/off 95. Pet friendly. Set back from road, quiet, but very close to everything; gas, restaurants within walking distance. Very friendly staff. Our room seemed like it was recently updated. They do offer breakfast, but we had our dog and left early, it did look very nice though. Only negative is carpet in pet-friendly room (dislike carpet in general) the entire room smells like they used a lot of carpet freshener powder. Overall decent hotel if you need a break from long road trip and affordable.
The GM Denny Patel needs some lessons in hospitality if he's going to run a hotel. Left my wife and small dog out in the 30 degree air at midnight after 12 hours of driving, while I was waiting to check in as the front desk manager argued with other guests about rates they were promised that they weren't getting. After 20 minutes of waiting, she walked in with the dog to warm up, at which point Denny Patel cancelled our reservation. He watched her on camera out in the cold waiting for her to walk in so he could cancel our reservation. What a fine human being he is. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere more welcoming and sympathetic to basic human needs. Baymont Inn down the street welcomed us with open arms (and at a better price with better parking I might add). Take your business there instead.
This was my third time at this Hotel and was very satisfied every time. I recommand this Hotel because of it's our place to stay on our way to Florida for the winter. The front desk employee was very nice and friendly.
We were traveling to Florida with our dog and another couple. They came along to help us tow our very large RV. I am sure all four of us would highly recommend this Sure Stay. Just one suggestion, flavored creamers for coffee!
The rooms were nice, clean, and in good condition.I had no problems with the room besides the lack of lighting, the broken chair, and the layout space is not used efficiently. Lots of empty space near entrance then bed and desk crammed to the back near the bathroom/vanity preventing you from passing by if someone was using the desk. the staff was friendly. The breakfast needs more variety I didn't see any meat options until Saturday and there was one strip of bacon left and no one refilled the tray. The staff was on a tight time schedule when it came to cleaning. You had to be out of the room by 10am.
Great staff, clean rooms, great beds ... in 7 years of staying here it's always been great .. close to I-95 .. restaurants near by .. good breakfast and clean breakfast area .. highly recommend to anyone traveling
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this motel. Was convenient to I-95, super clean, quiet, great amenities and friendly staff. Will definitely stay again! We had never stayed at a SureStay before so were a bit skeptical but now we are becoming returning guests.
My intent was to check into the Hampton Inn when I noticed The Sure Stay Hotel sitting behind it. What caught my eye was the pretty little flowers surrounding the front entrance and a very nice outdoor sitting area facing a cotton field. It was perfect. Clean nice size room with a comfortable bed at a very reasonable price. Staff was friendly and helpful. We will be back for sure. Added bonus was that it was easy on and off of the highway and resturants are in walking distance.
I reviewed this hotel a few years ago when it was Howard Johnson's. It was very good then and is now even better. It's the perfect stopover when driving I-95 NY to FL, right off the exit yet set way back from the highway so it's private and quiet and there are restaurants nearby. The rooms have been nicely updated, are clean and comfortable and the breakfast has a nice variety including scrambled eggs, bacon, waffles, etc.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL. The general manager DENNY PATEL is unprofessional and impossible to work with. We had a discrepancy with our dates, Expedia was willing to work with us. DENNY PATEL chose NOT to. We were told that he would call us back, he didn't have enough courtesy to bother to do that. DENNY, you are in the customer service industry. In case you aren't aware, being communicative, being respectful, and PROFESSIONAL is what that entails. You are none of that. Your hotel was like a ghost town when we arrived to try to resolve this issue in person. If you continue to “manage” in this way, you won't have anything to manage at all. Anyone reading this, there are many hotels in Manning, SC to choose from. Save yourself a HUGE headache and AVOID this one.
HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE from Denny Patel general manager of the SureStay Hotel by Best Western!!! PLEASE READ… We had booked a night's stay at the SureStay Hotel by Best Western located in Manning, South Carolina through Expedia on 10/10/2019 at 10:00pm for the night of 10/11/2019. When I clicked submit, the confirmation stated it was for the 10th (for that very night, in which we were in a different city). Easy to correct I had thought. I immediately contacted Expedia and they had contacted the SureStay Hotel by Best Western to see if the date can be corrected to the next day. Expedia spoke to a subordinate night manager at the SureStay Hotel by Best Western on the night of the 10th and she was unable to do anything at the time due to her limitations with their system, so I was to call again in the morning to try to get this resolved. I called the SureStay Hotel by Best Western in Manning, SC for a second time the morning of 10/11/2019 (this was supposed to be the day/night of the stay). I spoke with the Crystal Busby, she was the front desk manager at the time. She was not very sympathetic to our situation and told us Expedia had to make the change. I then called Expedia and they told me it was the SureStay Hotel that had to change the dates and for me to hold while they contacted the SureStay Hotel. Also, during our conversations I had mentioned that if there were any service fees applicable to make any changes, I would gladly accept and pay for. After an hour back and forth, Expedia was willing to help in anyway they could, the front desk manager Crystal Busby was willing to change the date, all she needed was an approval from the General Manager (Denny Patel) of the SureStay hotel. General Manger Denny Patel denied the date change and refused to provide any kind of customer service. This was a little disturbing to my wife and I who were travelling to Manning, SC that day. DENNY PATEL, a general manager in charge of an establishment that is solely based on customer service, REFUSES TO PROVIDE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I asked if I could please speak with Denny Patel, general manager of the SureStay Hotel by Best Western located in Manning, South Carolina and they told me he was unavailable (conveniently), but they would gladly take my number and he would call me back. This conversation took place at 9:00am on 10/11/2019. We continued our trip to that night's destination of Manning, SC and we arrived in the town at around 4:00pm. So, from 9:00am to 4:00pm Denny Patel general manager of the SureStay Hotel by Best Western located in Manning, SC did not take the time of day to return my call. Being in the town now, I decided to go to the SureStay Hotel and see if Denny Patel general manager was there and if he wasn't, if I could have them contact him for me to discuss the reason as to why he would not provide customer service. The lady at the front desk at the time was named Angela and she was very nice and empathetic to what had transpired over the past day, but her hands were tied. Angela called subordinate manager Crystal Busby and we could hear a little of the very short conversation. ‘Absolutely not, don't give them anything'… ummm, we paid for service WE DID NOT RECEIVE, this would not be a gift!!! In short, I don't know what schooling Denny Patel general manager of the SureStay Hotel by Best Western located in Manning, South Carolina has had, but he must have been absent on the days when they were instructing how to run a CUSTOMER SERVICE based business. There are plenty of other hotels in Manning, SC. Our advice, please choose a different one like we were forced to do.
We drove from ATL to celebtrate my grandmother's 100 years of life as she is in transition to heaven and we stay at this hotel where people can stand outside smoke blunts and make lots of noise. An unknown person tried to enter. It was extremely scary. Will not stay here again
Our king bedroom, #105, was clean, had been refurbished, and had a comfortable bed. The pillows were a little lumpy, but not bad. We opened a drawer to the dresser under the TV and it spelled brand new. You can't go wrong staying at this hotel for a reasonable price.
The SureStay hotel by Best Western Manning is a Great little “Gem”. We've stayed last year, and this year it is still an excellent hotel. Gorgeous landscape, friendly staff and restaurants near by. We will definitely stay on our return trip.
We stayed 1 night , we got off exit 119 and found this hotel. Great service, cleanliness of the room was great except for the amenities it seemed like if they have been reused and the breakfast had a great variety. I bit pricey
This is a beautiful hotel to stay in. Very close to everything. The rooms were beautiful and clean. The housekeeper,Rosa was a very polite lady who goes out of her way to help.A very good stay after a day exploring South Carolina or just going to the beach.
Room with 1 king bed was clean and nicely appointed. Staff was friendly and efficient. The bed was comfortable. Walls seem to be thin so music/TV/voices from neighboring rooms were heard; fortunately not too late. Hot & cold choices for breakfast were limited; hot only included gravy (for to be heated biscuits) and make your own oatmeal and waffles. Cold choices were limited as well, but adequate.
Exterior of property and location were very good. The grounds were very nice and spacious. The rooms need to be updated. Look shabby. Old fixtures in bathroom. The staff were friendly. The breakfast was limited.
The room was excellent - clean, attractive, spacious. The check in was fast, courteous and efficient. Reading lights by the bed and at the desk were great, but the bathroom and general lighting lacked a little. 2 levels, no elevator.
I stayed here with my 2 boys on the drive from PA to FL. Nice, quiet location away from the highway. The price was great, breakfast was nice and the beds were comfy. Room was clean and looked recently refurbished. The pillows were horrible, clumpy and lumpy.
Room with 1 king bed was clean and nicely appointed. Staff was friendly and efficient. Our large service dog was welcomed without question. The bed was very comfortable. Slept beautifully in the quiet room. Shoney's was across the parking lot for dinner. Motel Breakfast included make your own waffles, nice crisp bacon, scrambled eggs, juices, hot beverages abd cereal. Would definitely stay here again.
Stayed here for 3 nights. Just your basic hotel. Lady in office was very helpful, I forgot her name. Bed was uncomfortable and pillows are cheap . I skipped their free breakfast, plenty of restaurants to chose from in the area. Trash was not emptied, bed was sloppily made up , spider web on wall in clear sight. There is not a swimming , someone made the decision to add a sitting area. I would not stay here again.
Room was small, especially the desk and the bathroom, although it had a king-sized bed. Furniture was in good shape, the carpet looked fine too. The bed was the most comfortable, including the pillows, I have experienced at a hotel in this class. We had to leave early after one night of a weekend trip, because, despite a nonsmoking rule, our room had such a strong smokey smell, we had to make the air conditioner run continuously in order to even tolerate the room for even one night. Lost money because the hotel was reserved through Booking.com, but it was worth the $89.99 to get out of this place.
This location was off the beaten path which was actually nice...very little traffic and very quiet...ample space to park. The rooms were clean and everything was in working order. Great value. The staff were friendly and helpful. Overall a pleasant stay for a single overnight.
Good room for the value. The room was clean. The bathroom was clean the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was standard fair. The people at the desk were nice and competent. The owner even sent me a thank you card for staying. I have stayed here twice recently on business
This hotel was clean and a good value for the price. Nothing fancy but we were just passing thru and needed a place to stay. The lady sitting out breakfast did ask outright for a tip which was slightly uncomfortable but otherwise staff was very pleasant
Clean, updated, comfortable. Staff was nice. But loud neighbors started at 12:30, so I turned fan to high and used headphones. My wife used earplugs. At 4:45 TV was still on. Advised front desk in morning. Walls too thin or Rude neighbors? Doesn't matter - not again.
After 15 hours of driving we were exhausted and came upon this point hotel. At first glance to be honest I was unsure but then we went into the office and we met Dana. She was very friendly And accommodating. We went to our room and it was extremely clean nice large TV good water pressure and a very comfortable bed. I was very happy that the AC cooled off the room to a very nice 70°. We had a very restful night I would highly recommend this hotel. It also has a nice breakfast for you in the morning.
Stopped on long trip home after encountering bad weather. Check-in was easy, quick and pleasant. Room was spotless. Easy to take in our overnight bags since we parked in front of the door to the room. Some food places in area to grab a bite. Breakfast was good...eggs, bacon, waffles. Only issue was that the driveway is a little hard to see...the correct entrance is between another hotel and Wendy's.
I found the room to be clean. There is a microwave and fridge in room along with a small coffee pot. The hotel sets back in away from the road so you do not have the road noise. It was also pretty quiet and we slept well. Front desk was very friendly. Breakfast is your basic continental with cereals, breads, muffins, coffee, and juices. The only hot food is biscuits and sausage gravy. I would recommend this hotel as very nice budget hotel.
We found the room to be spacious and very clean. The TV was fantastic. The bathroom was very clean and had a fan. Our room had a king size bed. They provide free WIFI. The night tables each had multiple USB plug in's to charge our device's. The AC was quiet and worked very well. The mattress was firm (just right to our preference) The breakfast offered was scrambled eggs, bacon, waffle cooker, fruit, coffee, juices, breads, muffins, donuts and more.
I maid reservations a week in advance for the following Sat-Mon. Checked in on Saturday, stayed that night left Sunday morning to be with family. Www came back round 5 door was locked I could not use my pad key.I check my account and they had taken the money and locked us out. Then after a free words they wanted us to leave. Girl in office stated that she did not know is a and or what we were capable of. But they have our money for a night we didn't stay before they renewed the pass keys?!.
We have stayed here several times and have always had a great stay. Rooms are totally renovated, clean and comfortable. We have recommended it to our friends & will definitely choose again. Great value!
The iron in the room was not working properly and burned the skirt to my special occasion skirt that was ruined! The front desk clerk was nice. She contacted the manager and he only refunded my $10 for my loss. I have photos and will post them. It's a shame because my stay was good up til that point.
Stayed here on our travels North and enjoyed the clean grounds, lobby, and rooms. The staff was quite friendly and helpful and even suggested a nearby Mexican restaurant (Mariachi's) that turned out to be very good. There was a $20 charge for our pet. Continental breakfast available. Fridge, microwave, hairdryer, iron and board, tv in room.
Room appeared clean - but mattress or pillows had an odor - as did the toilet. In the breakfast room, waffle batter must have been kept too long and/or at wrong temp., as taste was bad. Sad to see in the motel lobby a small, cramped glass tank containing a lone turtle. Seems a year ago, the manager found a turtle in the parking lot and she thought it would be a good idea to keep it in a small glass tank. Unfortunately, she isn't providing even the most basic care for it.. The water in the tank was too deep for the turtle to do anything but keep struggling to keep its head above water. The "basking' rock was below water, so even that provided no relief. The tank was so narrow the turtle couldn't even swim. The manager blamed everyone and everything except herself - first claiming the water level was adjusted automatically. - which it was not; then resorted to blaming the too-high water level in the tank on motel guests who "pour water in the tank." Put the turtle back in its natural environment!
Never heard of this hotel and was looking for a place that was clean inside my room and around the property. I have a small dog and many motels that allow pets are not up to my standards and this one was!
Rooms are nice and clean, bathrooms are clean, breakfast is presented nicely, good quality food, staff is very friendly. Location is right off I95. Ask for a room on first floor, easy to access your car.
We had a great night sleep. We pulled in around 9 p with out little dog and they found space for us, thankfully. The room was roomy:) and quiet. The decor was lovely. I am so glad we lucked into finding this hotel on our trip to Florida. The bed was comfy, plenty of towels and the breakfast was good. Waffles, sausage gravy and biscuits and bagels. Coffee, juice and fruit was also available. The place was packed and even the guests we're friendly.
From inside my room, I could feel the vibrations of people walking in the hallway, doors slamming, even toilets flushing in other rooms! It sounded as if there were 4-6 people partying in the room next to me until 3am.
Made reservation for a King Room with sofa bed. We got there the sofa was just a small seat not a sofa bed like advertised i asked about it they said its a sofa but if u curl up and lay on it it will be a bed. I got the bill and it even says sofa bed on the final invoice but its not. Dont pay extra for this room just get regular room at regular price if you need to stay here, i ended up leaving and going next store to hampton inn for the rest of my stay in manning.
We were so pleased with the cleanliness of the room, the comfort of the bed and the amenities in the room. We will definitely go back. This is very close to the exit ramp from 95. Dana at the front desk was so helpful and answered all our questions. We strongly recommend
Exit 119 off of route 95 holds a hidden value. This little gem was inexpensive, offered breakfast, had convenient parking, wifi and an incredible jacuzzi suite to soak out the weariness of travel. Mariachi Tex Mex was right around the corner offering an inexpensive, delicious dinner. Quite the unexpected find.
When you get off 95N turn right the Hotel in on the left behind Sonny's restaurant. Two story hotel.Room was very clean. Bed comfortable, pillows soft, kinda flat. Breakfast was good, the usual and coffee decent. Quick off and on to get back to 95.
Great place: clean, nice people, up to date tech, well maintained! Absolutely everything worked. Lots of power connections, usb and AC. Great beds with nice gooseneck lamps. Excellent TV reception and channels.
This place is very homey. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Nice to park your car right by the room to unload luggage. Was great for my dogs. Stop here every year on my way home from Florida. It was a real find for us. Easy on and off 95.
This is easy right off I-95. Tucked away from the freeway. Nice and quiet. Very nice staff. Clean rooms and well priced. Good Mexican restaurant close by too. Can't go wrong here. Good breakfast offerings too. I like the water pressure too.
We stopped here on our trip from Florida to New England. It is a very nice motel. It has outdoor entrances which is fine with us. It was very quiet and there are several restaurant choices near the motel. It was a very nice room with everything we wanted. We found their breakfast selection was pretty standard. Front desk person was cheerful upon our check-In. We will stay at this facility again when we go back to Florida.
I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. It had recently been renovated. I just have two small complaints breakfast is only served for 2 hours and the walls are very thin. Other than that it was a great value !
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay on our way down to Florida so I decided to stay on my way back up! We will always stay at SureStay Manning, SC from now on. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone passing through. Convenient to 95, super clean and safe, close to everything you need.
Nice clean room and comfy bed! Had a small issue with the jacuzzi tub but it was a great room and we were tired from driving so it was nice to have a great place to lay your head down after a long day driving!!!
I was very pleased with the room. It appears to have been recently remodeled. The decor was newer, the shower/tub was new and clean. The bed was comfortable and the linens clean. There was a small microwave and fridge as well. The location was very convenient to the highway but not so close that you could hear the traffic. It is located near several restaurants and a WalMart is nearby. The breakfasts was included and was pretty barebones but it was a nice addition. The service was prompt and friendly. Good value for the price.
Welcoming staff both at midnight when we arrived, as well as in the morning breakfast room and check out. All around great staff and wonderful stay!Beautifully renovated room, nicely quiet, away from the highway and road noise. We will definitely stay here again!
Had stayed at many Best Westerns before but never a SureStay. Found this property to be an excellent value with a great staff and comfortable, generously sized rooms. Would stay again here and would certainly try another location.
Right off I95 Two story motel, safe quiet Friendly Staff There is parking but depending on when you arrive you may need to park in the back Large room Microwave, coffee and refrigerator Modern lots of usb outlets Comfortable bed and sofa
The room rates are very reasonable and an adequate breakfast to start the day is included. This is an older hotel. The room furnishings, with the exception of the toilet and shower area, have been updated with modern lighting, newer flooring, and furnishings. The rooms are very clean. The toilet and shower area could use updating but they also very clean.
We normally stay a little further south on I-95, but decided to try Manning SC. This motel was delightful. Newly renovated in October of 2018, it was a great new place off I-95 for us to pull off the highway and have a restful night. Although the HBO channel did not connect, the tv was large and clear. The bed was comfortable and plenty of hot water for your shower. The only issue was the water did not taste very good. To chemical in its taste. Very much liked the newspaper at checkin! Thanks.
We've stayed in many hotels along I-95 and this has to be one of the best. From the time we stepped into the lobby and saw Tuck the baby turtle and met the courteous lady behind the desk, and then the clean, comfortable room ending with a delicious breakfast, everything was perfect.
We stayed here instead of the hotels in the area because they accept pets and we have a small dog. I will say that it is VERY clean and the bed was seriously comfortable, which was surprising. We also enjoyed the super cold AC. I would stay here again. The breakfast looked a bit lacking, so we didn't partake in that.
We arrived on a Friday evening after a 9-hour drive to be told by the receptionist that we did not have a reservation. When we produced the reservation confirmation details that we had received from Best Western just the day before, she told us that it was not in her system--but they did have rooms available at a higher price than our comfirmation price. We asked to see the manager, who was extremely cold and arrogant--his response was that we had made the reservation through a "third party" (Best Western website) rather than directly with this hotel, and that he did not have to honor it even if in his system. When I told him that he was obliged to do so, and pointed to a sign on the wall saying that the hotel aims to make customers happy, he flew into a rage, said he was under no obligation to provide a room, ordered his receptionist not to give us a room, and stalked off. He did this in front of other customers in the lobby, all looking on incredulously. We wound up going to another hotel, upset and tired, and called Best Western Customer Care to report this incident. They confirmed that we did have a reservation, and that the hotel was obliged to honor it. The agent apologized profusely.
In for an overnight. We requested a king on the ground floor and all she had left was a handicap room Since it was late in the day when I made reservation I'm sure that's why she offered it to us. The room was roomy, clean, well decorated and just behind the breakfast dining area Bed was very comfortable. We could hear the people next door talking but could not hear what they were saying, so I assume the insulation is inadequate. Not enough to keep us from getting a good nights sleep In the morning we could hear the women getting breakfast ready. We would stay again if ever in the area.
Stayed one night on drive to FL and highly recommend. We had two queen bed room for family of four (13 & 10 year olds). The room was clean and newly renovated with multiple USB points. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast buffet with mix of hot and cold items. Staff friendly. The building is set back from the road, so very quiet. Great value for the price. Would definitely stay again.
6/28/18 Traveling to FL w a small dog and found this hotel—what a fantastic find! Very clean, new fixtures, free hot breakfast, private entry to room, friendly staff. Would definitely stay here again!
Usually stop in santee sc but decided to try Manning. The hotel was very clean the staff were friendly and very helpful. Great price printed a coupon so price was even better. Breakfast had a lot of choices.i would recommend this hotel. Only thing the hotel should do is put some chairs around so when weather is nice you could sit outside . We did put the chairs in the room outside so did others but that was a pain. I could not rate service sleep etc web site wouldn't let me.
Ok, the only reason this is not five stars is because I have stayed at places like The Four Seasons and similar super high-end hotels. It doesn't quite equal that kind of experience, but the VALUE is definitely FIVE STARS. The entire facility is nicely renovated and well-kept. Small details that I tend to notice such as dented lamp shades or missing curtain hooks or dirt in the corners were ABSENT. This hotel is truly well-maintained, thoroughly refurbished and is a bargain for the price. The owners clearly have an eye for detail. I think my room was better than that found in an average Hampton, Hilton, or upscale traveler hotel. Certainly a BIG cut above what I usually find on the road when I need a pet-friendly place at 1 AM. The pet fee of 20 is higher than most, but my room had spotless new carpets. Most pet-friendly rooms have some sort of solid surface floor. My tired feet appreciated the rugs. The linens on the bed were clean and of superior quality. There were USB outlets EVERYWHERE, things were so modern. And the flat screen TV actually tuned to hi-def stations - I hate it when hotels have hi-def screens and old, low-def programming. Although it was originally an older hotel, it is TOTALLY brand-new looking - even the bathrooms had been completely gutted and are also much better than an average refurbished hotel. The breakfast was a hot and cold buffet, comparable to a Hampton breakfast (cereals, danishes, eggs, sausage, fresh oatmeal, etc.), along with a selection of juices and milk, but far less expensive. The coffee was actually good. The staff was friendly - even though you weren't supposed to leave the buffet with food, I was cheerfully allowed to bring a small dish of eggs for my dog to in which to hide his medicine and give him a treat for the long car ride ahead. The staff were also knowledgeable, and helpful, even though I arrived very late at night. Ever try to call a front desk after midnight to see if there are rooms? Unlike most experiences I have had doing that, here the phone was answered promptly and cheerfully. I also liked that the hotel was located far back from the road, as it made it easy to walk my dog, and was quiet. It also helped that the rooms were well-insulated from outside noise, so I had a good, undisturbed rest. I HIGHLY recommend this hotel to travelers, with or without pets. I will DEFINITELY return the next time I drive down I-95.
Great place , great deal. Re-done , rooms nicely decorated. Love the lighting in the mirror over the sink- going to order one like it for home. Comfortable bed , nice linens. Clean. Room also had small daybed/couch - nice touch. Will definitely stay again
Wasn't expecting much at this price. The best room I've stayed in, At this price along 95. Traveling back and forth to Florida for 20 years. All newly remodeled room. Great bedding, comfy bed. USB outlets and plugs everywhere. Didn't have to search behind furniture to find a plug only to discover all the outlets were already had plugs in them, Very nice vanity and super new lighted mirror. Clean and newer tub with good shower. A very nice room. Sure to stay again on my next trip north from Fl.
My husband and I stopped here for one night. It is an older hotel but it was clean, the staff was friendly, bed was pretty comfortable other than the pillows, and breakfast selection was decent. We would definitely stay here again if in the area, especially for the price.
We stayed here the night of April 4th, on our way back to Canada from Florida. It was immaculately clean, the bed was very comfortable and we enjoyed our stay. The coffee machine has individual sterile packs of coffee which also double up as the tray that goes into the machine. A very nice feature, since there are no bacteria from previous usages! Breakfast in the morning was good.
This motel , although older, had been upgraded with great IT outlets. It was very clean and great beds, There were a lot of fast foods places handy, but we could not find a nice restaurant. The breakfast was adequate but rather difficult to find your way around, many of us could not find napkins and other things that would have made it a better experience.
Found this hidden gem through a referral from an already fully booked Best Western nearby. It was refreshing to stay at a smaller location, but still have all the ammendities. Front Desk staff was so friendly, pleasant & helpful. Couldn't of ask for a nicer room & felt safe there. Large parking spaces & breakfast buffet included. The price was very affordable & I will return again.
We hit bad weather traveling down I-95 and stopped in Manning SC for the night. We lucked out and found a room at the Sure Stay by Best Western. Being unfamiliar with the name, our expectations weren't very high but to our suprise our stay was great! The desk clerk, Oprah, was a rock star and made us feel right at home. She even gave us tips on where to go for dinner and directions to the nearest Walmart for forgetten items. Room was nice and clean and the price was unbeatable.
Brand new or fully renovated place. Everything we need for a short stay was there. Friendly personnel. Breakfast was included, but available only for early birds. Nothing to complain about, however pillows were really uncomfortable for us, as we prefer “fluffy unicorns” to sleep on.
We hadn't tried this chain before but as it was BW affiliated we decided to give it a try. We were pleasantly surprised. The location I\\s great, just off I 95. The breakfast was very good with an attendant there most of the time being engaged with guests and keeping the breakfast area stocked. The lighting in the room was quite hi-tech and effective. Room amenities were very good. The tub was quite slippery and no additional tub mat was there. The area around the door knob/locks needed a good scrubbing. Also, there appears to have been an outdoor pool area, at one time, but the pool has been filled in and no longer there. Would stay here again if in the area.
Highly recommended--pet friendly, beautiful suite. May need to book in advance as there are only 45 rooms. Only negatives--lack of any type of light fixture over sink which made shaving impossible. Also, on reservation form 2 days in advance, requested ground floor room due to need to walk the dog--front desk denied receiving this info and we were given 2nd floor suite.
Very clean, we got a suite with 1 king bed to stay in on our drive down to Florida from New York. Reasonably priced and plenty of places to eat around! Room service knocked on our doors in the morning and brought fresh towels and more shampoos because there was more of us than usual in a 1 bedroom. Only stayed for a Night but they were very accommodating and sweet! Quiet room, with a TV, mini fridge, microwave, king bed and pull out couch! Bathroom was huge with beautiful lighting and very clean. We didn't drink any coffee but it was there to make along with shampoos, soaps, and a shower cap! We would definitely come back!
I booked this hotel because it was associated with Best Western. The person checking us in was very friendly. It is a pet friendly hotel and since I am allergic to dogs I asked not to be next to a room with an animal. Our room and bathroom was newly remodeled and had very good lighting. We went out to dinner and upon our return two doors away from our room was a barking dog by the window. The owners were probably out to dinner too and didn't realize that their dog would continually bark. Otherwise our stay was fine. Breakfast in the morning was good and as I said before the personnel was friendly and accommodating.
I had made reservations on January 1st letting them know that I needed a first floor room. Our dog cannot walk up the stairs. We arrived in February and were told that they didn't have ANY rooms on the first floor. I was very upset and had to contact Travelocity, the agency I booked through. The women that worked for Travelocity did make arrangements for us to get a first floor room. In other words, we were lied to by the hostess for Best Western. The room that she gave us was very disappointing. My husband had to tinker with the lock to get it to work, the furniture was old and damaged and there was a cigarette burn on the drapes. We did put up with it for one night but won't go there again. I was told the manager wasn't there when I know that he was. Can one really believe what they have to say?
We arrived later than we expected. Front desk clerk was wonderful. It was nice to be able to park in front of room since we were traveling with our Boston Terrier. Room appeared to be recently remodeled. They thought of everything for travelers convenience. Lots of plugs to charge your electronics. Night light. Comfy bed. Quiet location. Very happy with this hotel.
We thought we would try this hotel and so pleased we did. Excellent rooms, clean and modern. The breakfast consisted of scrambled eggs and bacon and the normal other bits and pieces, cereal, porridge, waffles egg. Staff very nice and helpful. They have a washing machine and a dryer 1.25 each which is excellent for travellers. Would thoroughly recommend it.
We have stayed a few times in Manning on our drive from NY to FL. We stayed here when this was a Howard Johnson. They have greatly improved the place and made some nice renovations. Nice bed, bathroom,TV, fridge and microwave. Good, bright, clean breakfast room. All around good deal.
Very Nice Budget Friendly place to stay. Close to I-95, Restaurants and gas stations are nearby, Room was a nice size and nicely decorated.good condition all things worked and Clean.the morning Breakfast wasgood.
I am glad I stayed at this Hotel BEFORE I read some of these reviews, as I did NOT find it as BAD as the reviews indicated. If you want to know about a Hotel's policies, READ the current profile of the OWNING CHAIN, (Best Western) before making a reservation. You can not arrive anywhere without knowing the policies and expect them to BEND to suit you. Do YOUR HOMEWORK. IF you want a brand new Luxury Hotel, then you need to go to a Cambria, or Crown Plaza. I found the building and grounds to be very clean and well groomed. The room was clean, and what you would expect from a small Best Western. The breakfast area was small, but Clean and the food was good. Being back off the roadway, it was quiet and easy to get a night's sleep without a lot of truck and traffic noise. Beds were very comfortable. THE ONLY negative I have is that at the END of the driveway their SURE STAY sign is VERY LOW and blocks your view to the left as you attempt to pull out onto the HIGHWAY. You have to almost pull into the roadway to SEE to the left. IT IS A HAZARDOUS situation and should be corrected immediately before someone is SERIOUSLY injured. The sign could easily be raised 8-10 feet so that you could see UNDER it, and it would NOT deter anyone from seeing the sign from the roadway.
I paid in advance for a room and when my wife and daughter arrived, they were informed that the pet fee was now $20 instead of $15. They plead the case with the manager for a few minutes because they did not have an extra $5. After they were unsuccessful, they went back to the car to try to dig up the extra $5. When they did, the manager refused them a room! He was hostile, threatening and demeaning toward these two women, and they felt in danger. Please do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere.
Motel is an older building that has been generally updated, but is not modern. They accept pets for a 20 dollar fee. Grounds are ok and clean. Beds are not very comfortable and there are minimal blankets for a cool evening. The price we paid was too high , should have used trip advisor. I used Best Western and it was 89. Trip advisor had a special at 63!!! Hotel wouldn't honor that after I requested a change. The place is ok but there are better places in town for the same or less money.
After reading some of the reviews I expected this hotel to be better than 'average'. Furniture fairly worn looking. There was something that looked like straw around the base of the toilet - I didn't feel like investigating further to see what it was. Probably our biggest complaint was the thin walls. The man in the room next to us had whooping cough or something. He coughed a lot and it sounded like he was in our room. Also we heard lots of other thumps and bangs coming from other units and up on second floor. My husband said probably this is a fairly old building, built with wood framing instead of concrete block walls, which would have been better insulation and muffled the sounds. We stayed in the Baymont previously, would go back to the Baymont if in the area.
Easy check in, coupon accepted.Room was very clean.Beds and pillows were great, nice free breakfast, fair price, updated tv, no bugs. Cookout Restaurant accross the street. Shoneys, Wendys.nearby What more could one want?
Great place, clean and easy access to 95. Looks like a southern home, great first impression. There is a mini refrigerator, microwave and coffee pot and coffee and tea in the room, however there is a great free breakfast and you can get those items there. There is cereal, homemade waffles, bagels, English muffins, fruit and lots more. You will not go away hungry. Bed comfy. Staff very friendly, will recommend.
I have stayed at several of the hotels in Manning over the past year- I was pleasantly surprised with the Sure Stay Hotel. Denny and Harry are doing a wonderful job with this place. Abbie (CSR) was extremely friendly/knowledgeable upon check-in. Once arriving to the room-it was an added bonus to see the total mattress encasement. Since I worked many years in the hotel industry- I know what I need to do upon checking in to a hotel room :) The carpet was clean, good water pressure in the shower, bedding was clean, linen was clean and the right amount of towels, no problems with the WiFi, TV had a nice picture. You guys have done an excellent job with this hotel. Keep up the great work!!!!
I travel up and down I-95 many times a year. I saw the advertisement for $59.00 per night and pulled in. The hotel was clean well taken care of , fresh and from my perspective one of the nicer affordable places to stay. Although, not a brand new building you could tell the care and many noticeable upgrades and amenities that other hotel do not have. Give it a try!
Nice older property, set back from the main road. Clean rooms. Food places within walking distance
Stay here frequently. Rooms are very clean with very comfortable, new beds. Big TV with cable and free fast WiFi. Friendly staff and decent breakfast. Only issue is walls so thin you can almost see through them. Hear every word next door. Pet friendly (fee). Good value
We were pleasantly surprised with our visit to this motel. It was clean, comfortable and our room appeared newly remodeled. The front desk personal was friendly and very helpful. After arriving in our room, we were phoned within 10 minutes by the front desk to see if everything was to our satisfaction. That's what I call great customer service! The bed was comfortable, the bathroom clean and the shower had good pressure. It was a wonderful stay and we will be back!
Great as always. I had to line up rooms for 8 out of town folks, and even with the hurricane bearing down , everything went smoothly.
