Best Western Plus White Horse Hotel

We stayed as a school group doing a History tour of Northern Ireland. The site was perfect to accommodate our needs, staff were very welcoming and friendly and we enjoyed an excellent breakfast. Our students also made use of the pool and fitness facilities and we had a great stay. Thank you.

Went for a meal on Sunday with family an to watch football, restaurant service was shocking, basically rushed the starter out then we were notified that all staff rang in sick so u have to get ur carvery now as it's stopping straight away, so we did, starter plates still sitting on table an one member of staff standing at till watching over an basically doing nothing, terrible service, TBH unless Hassan is serving in the restaurant the service is shocking.. A lot of people dissapointed recently with the service an the every time the bill has to be challenged

Great overnight stay. Food was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed the pool. We were in a recently refurbished family room which was lovely with super cosy beds. Staff all incredibly friendly especially the girl on the check in desk. Lots of car parking as well was a great bonus.

Had a meal at the white horse for a birthday - there was 13 of us, was seated and served drinks pretty fast, order was took for starters and mains pretty fast. However not everyone got a starter so they were served quick enough, when everyone was finished starters took about 20 mins for the dishes to be lifted when finished, waited over an hour for the mains to be served, had to ask the waitress to lift our main course plates that we were finished eating and asked for a dessert menu. After 20 mins of having the menu they finally took our order and 45 minutes later desserts landed. No one really ate their desserts because we were waiting that long, kids were getting cranky, everyone was getting tired of waiting around. Didn't even get the birthday cake brought out or lit, as everything was just taking so long so had to ask for it to be brought out in the box so we could leave! We also were asked when booking if we would like a CAKE TABLE for the birthday cake, which when we arrived there was NO cake table & I also had to clean the kids highchair myself as it was stinking!! We went to pay for the bill & realised that we were charged for £50 worth of sides, that no one asked for. Onion rings & mushrooms! We actually thought when they were served to our table that they were with the steaks! Indian man who was working was ignorant, not a bit helpful and was quite sharp on numerous of occasions! Actually thought about booking my wedding here but definitely not after the lack of service. Food was ok but definitely not worth the money and definitely not worth the wait! Over priced and overrated. Manager would need to change a few things up and train staff up a bit better especially that rude man! Disappointed!

My husband and I used the leisure facilities here and we definitely wouldn't recommend. No towels were offered to us at reception. The changing rooms, pool area and sauna were all filthy. Seat in the sauna is broken, could easily trap fingers/skin! The showers in the ladies changing room made my skin crawl, manky old shower curtain and black mould between the tiles. Bit of a health hazard. Everything could do with a good deep clean. Granted, it is cheap at £7.50 per person for non members but you get what you pay for. Won't be back!

Spa facilities were average. Staff working at spa were a pleasure, especially a girl named India. very friendly. Credit to the hotel. Food was average, kids running around at all hours of the night. Breakfast service was terrible, waiting 20 minutes on tea and toast. Staff were no where to be seen. A queue had been formed waiting on staff coming back from kitchen to ask for service. Room was ok. Rubbish still in bins when we arrived.

Stayed for a couple of nights this week and found the hotel very welcoming. Room was clean, comfortable and well serviced. Had dinner both nights. The menu choices were varied and interesting. Tried the garlic chilli prawns, Lebanese Lamb, Fillet Steak, Duck Breast and desserts. Food was very tasty, nicely presented and served. Breakfast was self service cereals, juice etc with mains cooked fresh to order. All in all a very enjoyable stay. Every single member of staff we encountered was friendly, helpful and efficient. A very well managed hotel.. We will most certainly return

Here come the girls package. Very good value and enjoyable experience. The staff and food were excellent. Warm comfortable rooms with robes included. Always a great touch for getting to the leisure facilities.

Going to be fair and honest with this one! Check in was quick and easy, no issues. Room was very spacious, beds comfy but the pillows, not so much! The bathroom was a typical standard but the shower pressure wasn't great and the hot water kept dipping in and out. The pool facilities were OK. Bit grubby in parts, so could do with a deep clean. The lockers are dated and the keys you are allocated dont have the locker number on the band, so you need to check every locker to find the correct one. We were given 3 towels and one of them was dirty with stains. The pool itself was on the cold side. My childs lips actually started turning blue, so we had to get out prompt to get warmed up! Nobody seemed to stay in for long because of this. We went out for dinner and breakfast so cant comment on the food, but the drinks we got from the bar were good and a decent pint of Guinness. Overall, the hotel is OK for a night. However, comparing to other 4 star hotels I have stayed in (e.g. Roe Park etc), the White Horse is not up to the same standards. I would say it is more in line with a 3 star facility. It was OK for a budget stay and the price was reasonable, but next time I will probably spend a bit more ££ to get a more enjoyable experience.

I stopped in for a quick lunch at the hotel in the bar/restaurant and had a cappuccino and a ham and cheese toasty. The food was lovely and I was served quickly. Bar manager Alistair and Joy were very helpful and the service was great. Thanks again!

Rooms are dated but clean, though quite snug for 3 guests. If someone is doing their hair/makeup at the desk then you can't get past. Food was expensive £21 for a main meal, £12 supplement for a steak and wasn't all that great. Eat in the restaurant the 1st night (service was slow) but you much better quality and prices in Derry centre. Pool area is in need of a serious revamp. Very grubby and dirty looking. Left after about 10 mins due to the uncleanness. Far nicer hotels in Derry than this one. Though a reasonable price for the weekend, but definitely not a 4* hotel.

There is a number of improvements needed to the room and internet. Overall I wouldn't recommend this hotel unfortunately, the food was good and the staff was great. The TV was an issue also, as I had to use my phone data to use it.

Such a lovely welcome at reception .. great comfy beds and pillows ..high standard of cleanliness . Thoroughly enjoyed our time in the outdoor hot tub ..the man on duty was helpful and had a great bubbly attitude ..( sorry can't remember his name ) food was amazing at both breakfast and dinner the highlight of our stay was the back massage with India! She has magic hands and the most beautiful aura . Her thoughtfulness and kindness didn't go unnoticed ..can't wait to return .

We had a wonderful 2 night stay in the Best Western. I was quite worried about the booking given previous TripAdvisor reviews but all worries were quickly set aside from checkin. Reception staff were lovely and efficient. The room was big and very modern. Two big double beds which were perfect for our family (2a & 2 small kids). The pool was big and yes the water is a little cooler than some other hotels but the kids had a ball and didn't want to leave. The steam room and sauna are both great. Dinner in the restaurant was included in our package and I thought quite expensive for what it is. It was ok first night and fantastic on the 2nd. I suppose it comes down to what you order. Kids option esp the roast dinner are excellent. The breakfast in particular was lovely. The fry selection and brown bread was top quality. Kids very happy also with yogurts, cereal and delicious pastries. The hotel not really within walking distance of anywhere but if you have a car, no problems. We will be back!

We arrived for Sunday lunch (4th feb) and had to wait until the receptionist decided we were worthy of her time. It was a negative experience so we left and went somewhere else. There was a time when this hotel was warm and friendly but not anymore!

Absolutely horrendous customer service. Came for my sister's birthday treat that I purchased on SpaSeekers and we were so excited for relaxing spa treatments and a fabulous day. What we got what the exact opposite. Very unprofessional staff at the leisure section reception who told me I owed £55 when I didn't, who I also overheard swearing at other customers, it was not a good start. Then the therapist arriving for our treatments to say "is it okay if I take my coffee break now" it was very unprofessional. Massage/facial unpleasant and we couldn't wait to leave the place. Afternoon tea was okay and the staff in the resteraunt part were lovely. I sent a complaint via email immediately when I got home so it was in writing. That was over 5weeks ago and I've had NOTHING. Rang up three times to chase up the issue and noone was able to help. Sent emails numerous times and noone has responded either. Absolutely disgusting customer service and treatment! Won't be back.

I Have never written a review before, equally i have never recieved such poor customer service. We were a returning party of 6 who booked the "here comes the girls trip" for friday 12th. We recieved a phone call 1 week before stating that a therapist was off sick ...we could have quite a wait between treatmnts they offered us complimentry use of the hot tub (usually £10pp), knowing we wouldnt get another spa at short notice for 6 we agreed. Then on Wed 10th we got an email (very unprofessional one) stating both therapists were now sick ...so we would be unable to avail of the treatments ( yes the part of the package that made it a spa ) Are choices 1...continue with the booking and we could have complimentry use of Hot Tubs ?? And a bottle of prosecco 2...cancel ...2 of our party were flying in especially for the weekend So we spoke with several members of staff ...each passing the buck "theres nothing i can do about it" "At least i used my own initiative and emailed you ..no one else was going to bother" "Thats not my department/job" "Apologies" "If theyre sick what am i supposed to do" This is some of the responses we got While i accepted the girls are sick (speedy recovery to both) it was a days work to even get someone to speak to us the email was sent at 7.10am and at 5.00pm we were still waiting on the manager to ring us back ... What would i have liked her to do say "im so sorry that this has happened " There is a similar stay "date night" which is Without treatments this costs £92.50 we were not offered this we were paying £135 (for treatments) so essentially our complimentry hot tub and prosecco was costing £42.50 pp ???? Poor response from management, poor communication, poor team effort.

Let me first give you the positives,as local people we have used the White Horse Hotel for their spa break on 2 previous occasions all of which were of the highest standards, but I'm sorry to say management have forgotten their own website promise stating outstanding customer service, as a family of 6 ladies we were booked for a spa break with an overnight stay on Fri 12th Jan but on wed the 10th of Jan we received an email telling us there was no therapists to carry out the treatments so they were cancelled but we can still come ahead and be offered complimentary use of hot tub and a bottle of prosecco in place of treatments! As we had already been given use of the hot tubs the week before because there was only one therapist working this gave us a bottle of prosecco. My sister and myself went to the hotel to find out wha the situation was, we were told there was no one available to speak to us and to come back at 12.30 which we did still no one available but the duty manager would be there from 3pm and they would have her phone me, I rang at 5.30 and spoke to the duty manager and explained again that 2 of our party was arriving from Edinburgh and London and have gone to a lot of expense to be home for this break as it was Christmas gifts other people had taken time off work in fact a lot of effort not to mention expense had gone into this overnight spa break. There was little or no understanding of from the duty manager, no alternatives not even an offer of a price drop without the spa treatments in fact the response was a number of times was, would you like to cancel!! As I live locally I would like to let anyone interested know that this is not typical of hospitality in the Derry area but hope the hotel can get back to where it used to be. JK

This was our 12th visit to the White horse . I had brought friends with me that had been before. We hadn't been from Covid and the downstairs look amazing. But , you really need to get bedrooms updated. Still baths to climb in and out of to have a shower. Corridor with bucket collecting a drip. The stench was awful. Our friends came over to our room on the first night. as their windows were whistling and noisey. The bathroom was soo smelly and made them feel soo nauseous. Phoned reception and told them about it. Nothing was done and when booking out it was just treated as a matter of fact !!! The staff are absolutely amazing and go out of their way for you. Special shoutout to India. We can't thank you enough. We visited the new hotel in Londonderry and the price difference was a few pounds. I think we will take our custom there from now on as this wasn't a cheap 2 days away. Especially when it was gifts for our spouses and one was celebrating his birthday. Soo disappointed with our stay. Even a apology would have been nice. Rather than a ‘we have it logged from you reported it ‘.

Sometimes it's the small things that make a massive difference to a hotel stay and this has never been so right with this hotel and restaurant experience. Hotel is ok in terms of cleanliness and staff were efficient and attentive at times. However the food was very much overpriced and service poor. I really do think the hotel should look to get staff training sorted as some do not know what they are doing. It's way outside londonderry which means it's not londonderry! That wasn't a problem but just felt the hotel experience was a bit of a let down. Even ordered a coffee while I waited for a cab and got the smallest paper cup, not even a hotel cup and saucer, that was way overpriced.

Overpriced food, high end prices but not high end service or quality. 3 adults and two kids went for dinner and the bill came to over £170 The price that you pay does not equal the quality of the food or service. £9 for a over done chewey 2oz steak. £9 for 4 prawns in thick chip shop style batter £29 for a poor sirloin steak The bigger issue was really poor service, got orders wrong multiple times.

Room was great, very clean and spacious. Food was lovely. However we felt really let down by the service- it was terrible. Slow, disinterested, bad communication and waiters arguing with other customers, even management didnt seem to have a clue. Service was so slow my wee boy started kicking off from boredom - no consideration given to this at all. We would have had dessert and more drinks i the restaurant if the service was good. One girl with brown hair and glasses was great but unfortunately she couldn't carry the whole restaurant. We went to bed annoyed about dinner only to be woken by the fire alarm for seemingly no reason at 630. Woke my toddler and knocked him out of routine which more or less ruined the second day of our trip- no acknowledgement or apology given for this. The pool was also unbearably cold, we could only stay in for 20mins because all were freezing. Also dirty. This is not 4star hotel. Will never be back.

Twice I gave this hotel a try and both times horrific... between cleanliness the 1st time and service the 2nd time. May i add it was the Clooney suite so it should have been luxurious!After the 1st terrible experience I was told come back for a free upgrade for all the hassle and we did 2 years later due to covid and was worse 1 hour and a half after ordering food no food arrived they lost the docket then what was ordered was all gone so needed to change our order waited a further 30mins still no food so had to leave and head to town... not even a free drink or any kind of solution for it and the manager and all was aware.. I would avoid ! Also I paid 9 pounds d for a porn star martini that was poured from the Tin and undrinkable even the bar staff had said so coz I pleaded they try it! Disgusting!

We had a wonderful stay we had last night. All staff lovely. Katie on Reception was very helpful. Special mention for Lenny in the bar who made our night (from Raspberry girl and her mum). Afternoon tea was delicious and catered to our dietary needs. Dinner was lovely and breakfast amazing. Pool and spa were fab and having a robe and slippers made it so much easier as we were able to go back to room for a shower instead of the pool changing rooms. Our room was clean and well equipped. Beds and pillows were so comfy. Could not have asked for more so thank you to all the staff and we will be back.

An absolutely over priced menu in the restaurant. There were a lot of extra add on charges for quite a number of dishes. This menu was one of those set prices for either one, two or three courses. Although it states a side order is included in some the dishes, the waitress went on to say that some of the sides had also added charges. This was not stated on the menu. When the food arrived we felt it was not up to par vs what was being charged. Portion sizes were ok. Staff didn't come to our table to check in with us to see if everything was ok during our meal. Their attention went into the arrival of a larger party. There seemed to be no initiative. On going to pay I mentioned that i felt that the menu was over priced for what it was offering. The waitress said "Yes we know but we can't do anything about that". She was very dismissive, no tact, no common sense or courtesy to the situation at hand. I was stern In reply, I said "Well I'm sure you could at least give some form of feedback". This experience has put us off from visiting this restaurant again.

Budget Stays are difficult to rate but I'll try to be as specific as possible. Hotel staff were very good friendly professional and helpful. Main lobby is clean front office staff excellent service. Room was small yet clean bed reasonable size and comfortable the bathroom was a phonebox sized room with a shower head that was both filthy and clogged with white sediment or calcium buildup. Again a budget stay so we can't be too critical. Bar was spacious offering plenty of seating. Unfortunately many of the draught beers were unavailable as there was issues with the taps during our stay however staff were apologetic and helpful throughout our evening. We did however take advantage of the swimming pool and sauna steam room. There was issues there that I believe are unacceptable. When I stood in the pool it was very cold the floor of the pool felt dirty it's difficult to describe but it just felt sluggy. There was black mould in a few areas on the walls of the pool also. The sauna was fine as was the steam room. But the pool needs attention. Overall we enjoyed the stay would recommend this hotel to someone driving while visiting Derry as it's quite a drive outside the City. Cost of around £15 in a taxi if you can find one willing to go out that far late at night. Which is quite hard based on my experience this past weekend. Overall happy but certainly the pool needs attention.

The pool is shocking black mold on the walls. The whole pool area is grubby. The room carpet was poor. The bedclothes and bathroom was spotless. The restaurant is perfect. Friendly staff and good parking

Very clean friendly staff great food, excellent swimming pool etc. Good price Not to far away from town Our stay was really good, we have been to this hotel 6 or 7 times and have always had a great experience.

Nice hotel with helpful staff and big rooms. Pool nice but needs an upgrade. We booked quite late so it was a bit more expensive, but still good value. Restaurant had tasty food. A shuttle bus to Derry would be awesome, even if it just ran twice a day.

Arrival was fine, went to restaurant for food Friday evening, a lot of staff standing with arms one length, was very quiet but yet service was very very slow. Once served, food was stunning. I Felt ill on Saturday afternoon, so we decided to order food to room that evening instead of going to restaurant, rang reception to place order as instructed to do so in the guest services. I was told kitchen was closed even though it stated that orders from a smaller menu would be available after 9.30pm. I said to the reception that this was not what it stated on the guest service information. To then be told she would need to check and would call us back. Call was never returned and when I tried to call back to find out, the phone was blatantly ignored. My mother decided to go down to find out what was happening to be told the oven was out of order, (whilst I was still in room waiting on the return call from reception). Which was never returned! Mum decided to get a cocktail to bring up on her way back to the room, to be told that they were not making them tonight. To have information on the guest services page, that the staff/hotel are not able to provide is ridiculous. If unable to provide this service do not state it's availability. It was my first and my last time at this hotel, which is disappointing as it is a lovely hotel. Unfortunately it was the staff that let it down.

We stayed again at tbe White Horse and it didn't dissapoint. Room was fantastic and restaurant excellent. All hotel staff were very polite, friendly and efficient. Hotel is a little bit out of Londonderry but there is a good bus service and taxis are cheap.

Clean rooms with great sheets and towels. Dinner was amazing and the kids loved the pool. The only downside is that it's so far from town. If there were an activity within walking distance, this place would be perfect. If you stay her, plan on having a car rental.

The staff were amazing, attending to our every need. The food was outstanding. We had also kids in our party that had serve allergies to nuts, dairy and soy milk. Staff accommodated this perfectly. We were given our own separate function room which was just brilliant :-) Thank you to Selina and her team for giving us a memorable day for my daughters first communion.

We arrived early and our room wasn't ready so they took our case and said they would come and get us when it was done Went the bar and had a drink and sandwich which was really nice and we're told our room was ready Our case had been taken up to our room which as lovely and modern It was spotless and there was shampoo and shower gel to use Had our evening meal there,both had steak and it was perfect,staff were very friendly and always smiling Went down to breakfast at 7am and sat down straight away,5 minutes later tea and toast were at our table Continental and full English available and plenty of everything,waitresses were very friendly and never stopped Definitely would recommend this hotel

Just spent a girls night away at this hidden gem. The bar was cozy and homely, room clean and comfortable and our dinner that night faultless. The spa was so good, topped off with the best service with a smile from Natasha. Will definitely be back

Had a lovely few days staying here, was very pleasantly surprised, everything you needed for a great stay….Darren the night porter really made us feel welcome, would go back even for a catch up with him….thank you

Really friendly, Excellent service spotless rooms. Food amazing. Have been back few times. Staff make you feel really important, will check if everything is up to scratch or if there's anything not to your satisfaction.

Had a nice stay evening meal was great but had a cocktail and was a excuse of a cocktail, the spa was also very disappointing very basic. Breakfast was another disappointing surprise absolutely unbelievable deep fat fried half cooked egg and half cooked bacon also ordered toast when I arrived for breakfast and got as I about to leave 20mins later. Sorry but the breakfast and spa was a letdown, couldn't recommend this hotel based on my experience.

My family went to this hotel tonight . Well what can I say…..from the minute we entered the restaurant to the end we were treated so well by the professionally presented staff. Their attitude was to make our experience unforgettable. We sat under a beautifully decorated treelike a beautiful white flowering cherry tree with baubles. Near the trunk. The other decorations were beautiful too. Very festive and very stylish. The service was excellent…..all food arrived at once…no waiting for side orders.. The meal itself was superb..I had a duck dish and the boys and husband had the cock and bull. Puddings were superb and the overall size of helpings was very generous. Definitely well worth a visit. My praises given to the staff and owner. Will definitely return. Top class!! Well done guys.

Fantastic value for money with great food and kind and caring staff. The cleanliness of the hotel in superb from the lounge to the bedrooms. Will definitely return some day. No hassle or problems whatsoever. Get the chicken kadai in the restaurant. It's only a sort drive (5-10min) into Derry city centre. We had a car but I don't think a taxi would be dear.

I enjoyed a weekend break at this hotel and it was a great experience, room spacious and clean and food in the restaurant was excellent. Used the pool facility and this was another excellent experience

This was our second visit to The White Horse , again it lived up to our expections. We had 3 rooms , 5 ladies . Spa , food and accommodation all excellent . The staff are the nicest you will meet . Our rooms were spotless and comfortable . Can't wait to return . hotel is only 10 minutes from Derry city. Have to say I think you would need a car to get to hotel or taxis , not sure about bus service to this hotel . Well worth a visit .

Good location for access to Derry over the main Foye Bridge with nice breakfast, lovely food generally and welcoming staff. Excellent gym and pool with spa services also available if requited and with clean and comfortable room at a very reasonable price hard to fault value for money.

Myself & my 3 sisters booked to spend the day here and to say we were disappointed is an understatement. We booked a package including a spa treatment, time in the "thermal suite" and afternoon tea! The spa facilities are less than satisfactory, a relaxation room consisting of two water beds, we even had to ask for a glass of water! The spa treatment itself was very average, I had asked for music during my treatment and even these simple instructions weren't followed. The thermal suite as it was sold to is is essentially a swimming pool open to all members. We had to pay a significant amount extra to use the outdoor jacuzzi facility! When we arrived to the restaurant for our afternoon tea they had no note of our booking, staff was very evident in there frustrations and we felt talked about and just generally a torture to them! I will add, the food was nice but overall the service was awful. We waited 40 minutes on our food!

I was there with my wife together with our family to celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary - a total party of 11 including children and Grandchildren in 4 rooms. We all had a brilliant time. All of the staff we encountered were friendly, courteous and helpful. Superb service.

Just finished the here come the girls spa and overnight stay package, booked as a treat for me and my mum. The staff were fantastic, super friendly, the spa treatments were amazing in a lovely relaxing atmosphere and the food was out of this world, honestly we really couldn't fault the service at all. Such great value for what we received. I would highly recommend and will definitely be back. If I was being really picky the only one thing I would like to see next time is the pool water being cleaner.

Lovely clean hotel, staff very friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant is very well presented and great portion sizes, the desserts are amazing and tasty.Local bus stop is two mins away and bus takes 20 mins to get to Londonderry.

Great location, hotel layout indoors and outdoors is fantastic, plenty of parking spaces with easy access from the main road, large amount of outdoor sittings and lovely gardens, inside, it's specious and equipped with all the facilities you need for your stay, good quality food with large menu choices, staff was welcoming, friendly and very helpful answering questions, easy check in/out process, room was specious, clean and well organised, very comfortable bed for a peaceful night sleep, the hotel location is great to access Lakes and Mountains, excellent scenery, will visit again for sure.

When entering the hotel the receptionist was beyond lovely. The hotel room was at a great standard. We went to the pool with our baby but it was rather cold so wasn't able to stay in it as long as we would of liked.

We did not stay, merely booked afternoon tea at the hotel. There was so much food, we were offered doggie boxes to take it home, all delicious, and in abundance. The staff were really welcoming and attentive, while the general ambience,on a warm summers day, could not have been nicer. I will definitely return.

Four star price with a fawlty tower's experience I was staying one night and that was enough staff very nice breakfast was nice it states four star hotel and for the price you pay this hotel €200 for a b&b (room 115 ) falls short of four star hotel for me personally. I'd give it from my other experience of four star hotels I'd give this hotel a 2 star rating . location terrible.. hotel decor dark and damp. room smelt damp bathroom was clean but dirty feel to all the stainless steel was never done and in sinkhole dirty. shower felt dirty to look at so didn't have a wash in it. The sink had crack in it so what germs be sitting in that sink bowl The towel rails was rusted beds were fine but rest of the room decor run down and very bare and no phone in room looked bare light fittings falling apart over bed. the window was on lower level which was looking into a car park which anyone at anytime could look into your room so no privacy at all breakfast was nice but the food covers that covered the food was gone vellow from over time which gave the food buffet a horrible look. felt like a Fawlty towers hotel.

I came here with my mum as a birthday treat for her. Got the spa package was a £115 pounds each. Was to include 30 minutes hot tub outside, pool and facilities, 60 mins scrub, shower and moisture, sorbet on water beds and 2 course lunch and 2 glasses of prosecco. My mum really enjoyed it and said she was really relaxed during her treatment. The highlight for her was the treatment she got. The hotel itself is okay. It was quiet when we were there.The pool kinda of reminds you of a leisure centre. The pool was cold but was a really big size for the hotel my mum said the steam room wasn't very warm. Sauna was good and we mainly stayed in the hot tub, even though it started spitting. We were suppose to get robes, towels and slippers but nobody said anything to us about them I just went and lifted them myself as I knew they were included. Really someone should of pointed it out to us. My mum thought the beautician she had was really good. Even though we got the same thing we noticed differences she got Emma. My mum didn't get her face done were I did but my mum seemed to get more of a mini massage which she enjoyed when she got the moisturiser on, i felt like mine was just rubbed on. I thought more of massage would of been more relaxing. I really felt like i just got product put on me. My shower was cold and I had to figure out for a minute to get it warm. The room was lovely but I like to be in silence with just the music on. My beautician kept sighing and seem to have a cold so was sniffling during it. Also we both said the noise of the tape gushing out wasn't great Ano it's a small thing but when your trying to relax I thought a bowl of water might be better. I was a bit disappointed with my treatment but mum loved hers. The girl did pull out my nose stud which she was apologetic for but was pretty invitable to happen if your gonna rub the face. They didn't even tell us the procedure I had to ask the consultation forms seemed more like a tick box they have to do. Declor usually do a big range for certain skin types nothing was asked or even an area that we might of wanted exfoliated more if you wanted time spent on. Water beds are good the lemon sorbet was lovely! Water beds are cold though to lye on. Food was good wheaten was Soo dry and the roast Potatoe was like a brick but was overall nice food. Service would of been nice to be told the soup of day and the roast of the day instead of me having to ask. We had that in the end. We changed the prosseco for a coffee and Diet Coke. I properly wouldn't go back here to be honest or if I did I would properly get a massage or a facial as I feel like the beautician I got would of been better at them as I did get a mini massage on those areas but was disappointed that she didn't spend longer.

Twin room was fine, but shower was small and the shower head could have done with a clean. Reception area and bar/restaurant was pleasant. I stayed here as part of a coach trip. I believe the hotel promised things they couldn't deliver! Breakfast was buffet style and cold. Items ran out quickly but it took so long to top up, we just gave up. Evening meal wasn't much better. Set menu with two choices and repetitive every night. It was quite tasty with mash potato, swede and carrots every evening. I requested chips one night and offered to pay. In the end the manager put a bowl of chips on each table - result. Service was appalling. One evening I had ate my chicken and mash before the vegetables arrived. Nearly 3 hours for our meal. People just kept leaving. Our driver spoke to the manager and reception to complain about the service and was assured it would be rectified - it wasn't. Seems we were being treated like second class citizens because we were on a coach. People who were ordering off the Al a Carte menu were being served first. Not acceptable. I hope the coach company won't use them again.

Although the hotel is stunning, and could not be faulted in almost all aspects, I have to say that our recent experience in the restaurant was appalling. Our dinner each night was booked for 7 pm, we did not finish our 3 courses until 9 pm, with our first course served at 7.45. Breakfast was no different although it was buffet. When certain items were requested we were left waiting for some time, and did not always get our requests. Staff were slow, untrained and not very helpful.

I stayed here for 3 nights as part of a coach group. Let's start with the positives Good welcome .Nice big room comfy bed. The best way to describe dinner service Dire 1st night 1 hour 30 min wait to be served 2nd night 2hours 3rd night even longer This despite the coach driver speaking to the food and beverage maneger on numerous occasions Breakfast wasn't much better uncleared tables missing cutlery /crockery. Not a great endorsement . The food was ok but very little choice

This hotel was great. Really clean. Staff was exceptional, helpful and friendly especially Joy Abraham. The spa was 100%, treatments were fantastic, hot tub was a lovely treat... to have and enjoy our bubbly. The food was 1st class, really, really, good. I would highly recommend this hotel as I've already done and I will go back again without a doubt. Brilliant

Myself and my husband had our wedding reception here in July. It was the most amazing day ever. All the staff couldn't have done enough for us, especially David, Emily and Selena. They made our day so special, especially David he decorated our wedding room and it was out of this world, the attention to detail was amazing. The food tasted beautiful and everything was perfect. We had the most amazing day all thanks to everyone at the white horse. We would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a wedding venue.

Attended for my Daughters birthday party package. 1 hour Swim and dinner at the restaurant. Everything was faultless and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. My daughter and her friends had a really good time highly recommend the package.

Was a guest at a wedding there this weekend. Staff were so nice to all the guests and made a real effort to make sure everyone was well looked after. David and Selina to name just two of an amazing team made sure the whole day went really smoothly. The quality of the food, both the main meal and the supper, was great.

Great day out, we had the shoulder, neck and back massage which was great, followed by afternoon tea and it was superb. Lovely selection of everything and accommodated dietary requirements. Minor detail is that the sandwiches were a little stiff, perhaps letting them sit out of the fridge at room temperature would have sufficed. Mick (Micheal) was our server and he was very welcoming and couldn't do enough for us both - a real credit to the team.

Ian on bar was very helpful changing things on my sons meal to suit him. Hes has autism and has issues with food. Food came out very quick. Nice hot fresh. Very good value for money. Very helpfull staff. Clean

Rooms outdated and very small. Staff at front desk could be friendlier, did not feel particularly welcome. Restaurant very expensive and you are not allowed to bring take aways into hotel. £12-17 taxi into centre of town. Taxi men also questioned our choice in choosing this hotel. Room service staff were very attentive. Would not return.

Came on a few nights away with the girls. From the moment we arrived the staff were fantastic. We had spa treatments done on the first day and had dinner in the absolutely beautiful restaurant. The food at dinner and breakfast was fantastic and we came back for dinner again on the second night. The hotel is beautiful but the highlight is the staff. From reception, beauty therapists, bar staff and restaurant, nothing was ever too much trouble and they were always up for a great laugh. They made us feel very relaxed and at ease and we were so impressed that this level of service was apparent with every single staff member. Overall a fantastic stay and we will definitely be back

I had booked a room for a family wedding. After the wedding, I had brought a few of my cousins up to the room while they waited for their taxi home and after no longer than 5 mins of being in the room, I was told the room was going to be inspected, we were getting kicked out and they had threatened to call the police on us several times if we didn't leave. Bearing in mind no one had made any complaints about us, they had just automatically assumed we were bad news. The man on shift (pictured), then proceeded to call us ‘ignorant people' and refused to give me a refund after understandably wanting to leave as I didn't feel comfortable. He even withheld his and the managers name and contact details from us so we really couldn't get any help on the night. I am totally dissatisfied and it wasn't worth a penny. The whole situation was dealt with awfully and it is clear that some customer service training or perhaps even just staff with some morals would go a long way!

Unfortunately we didn't really enjoy our stay here - the rooms are very outdated, the breakfast is nearly £15 and the jacuzzi/pool was so cold we couldn't stay in it! Corridors smell musty which gives an overall impression of uncleaniness/age. Ryan at reception was helpful and allowed us to check in a bit earlier. There is a retail park 5-7minutes drive away so we ate and drank there instead. Overall we would not stay here again as there are a lot of better choices in the city. We were driven by price and this was the cheapest option.

We weren't made aware that there was a wedding party the night we were staying, fights happened loudly in the corridor at 1-3am, a man tried to break into our room and there was no phone to call reception, bed linen was stained, overall dingey.

Excellent hotel, food was so nice.. Rooms spotless.. Would definitely recommend this hotel. One of the waitresses was quite rude to my daughter when she asked her for a plate. Leisure facilities have to be booked when you get to the hotel, this was disappointing as we wanted to use the sauna and pool..

A great experience from start to finish. Lovely pool, hot tub/ sauna/ steam room and massage treatment. The pool staff were very welcoming and accommodating.Emma, the massage therapist was very nice and gave a great massage. Room lovely, the 4 course meal included in the price was really enjoyable including a glass of bubbly and a cocktail, food very tasty. Service great, very professional. The restaurant interior is nice and relaxing to sit in, the beer garden a great little sun trap. Definitely would come back and looking forward to it already!

We had solely booked this hotel which is 14 minutes or so from the city due to the spa and pool facilities and the buffet breakfast. The room itself was lovely and clean and the bathroom facilities were excellent. The pool itself however was not pleasant to the eye, the water was ice cold and we were the first people in the pool and unfortunately there were several used plasters floating about, which immediately made me get myself and my family out. The breakfast was so disappointing especially for the price you pay. We got the fully cooked fry with continental and the choice was lack luster and the fry itself was really greasy and the soda bread was rock hard. I would honestly not return as i would not want to pay the extra price to stay in a hotel woth spa when i would not use the facilities, would be better off with a travel lodge or primier inn.

Girly weekend for our Birthdays. Excellent food and service was fab. Very friendly staff. Dion in the bar was very helpful. Gavin at the Hot Tub was very helpful n pleasant .We had a lovely weekend Thankyou Whitehorse Hotel.

We used our Tesco vouchers to stay here and have found it to be lovely. All Staff are very helpful and kind, everything we asked for was given. Rooms were spotless thanks to the domestic staff, bar and reception staff were very helpful. Only down side was the jacuzzi was only for private use at a extra cost. But good size pool.

Me my husband and our 2 year old stayed here for 2 nights, we had a fantastic time,nothing was a bother and the staff were very friendly. Great selection for breakfast, the food in the restaurant was beautiful, we will definitely be back, great facilities too.

We stayed here as a family for an overnight stay. They hotel was lovely and each staff member we encountered went out of their way to help us. Rooms were clean and mostly comfortable. Our room did get extremely hot throughout the night which caused us to be up a bit throughout the night but this was the only downside. We booked in to use the leisure facilities which were clean and enjoyable. The food in the restaurant was amazing and the service was great too! The hotel itself was about a 15 minute drive into Derry city centre so aslong as you're ok to drive the its fine. There was a spar about a 5 minute drive away to pick up snacks etc. I would definitely stay here again.

We alway like to get a few day hotel trip in a few times per year , no men . This year we wanted a hotel with a pool and leisure center , near to shopping .WHITEHORSE was just the perfect hotel , great spa hotel , just 10 minutes from Derry city center. Very clean comfortable hotel , lovely staff . You will need a car if traveling to this hotel , as I'm not sure of bus routes into Derry. Really worth a visit ,you won't be disappointed. We can't wait to go back .

the great staff makes this hotel a great place to stay the food is lovely great menu and great atmosphere the place is partically hiden of the main road and could be easily missed. Could do better signage.

My sister and her husband went to stay here for a night, on arrival reception took there bags as there room wasn't ready. upon my sister and brother in-laws return from lunch, they were challenged by a lady working in reception and the manager selen, for having crisps and a drink in there bag. Told all food and drink must be bought on premises. My sister and brother in law both have special needs, my sister also has a brain tumour and is completely blind in one eye and has only 10% vision left in her other eye. My first and foremost thought was why is staff searching through guests bags! when did it become acceptable to go through peoples private belongings?! would this have happened to a guest if they came in dressed professionally and spoke in a certain way? I think not! Yet 2 vulnerable adults come to stay at your hotel and are discriminated against due to the white horse hotel prejudice and bias. Totally unexceptable behaviour and should not be tolerated!

Just spent three nights in the hotel and had a great time. The highlight was the food - amazing - best hotel food I've ever had. We ate in the hotel two nights and each night it was great. The reception area, bar and restaurant are recently updated and look great. The bar in particular is a lovely space to sit and have a drink. Bedroom was very comfortable but probably could do with a facelift at some stage. We had breakfast every morning and it was very good. Apart from the pancake machine breaking down once, everything ran smoothly. The service is good, everyone particularly friendly and helpful.

We spent Patricks weekend here..two adults and two children. The rooms were very clean and the leisure centre had all we needed. Our son lost his goggles and was given a free pair by the staff which was a nice touch. The stand out here was the food which was excellent and much better than many more expensive hotels. We would highly recommend it.

I have stayed at the White Horse before but never with a warning of severe winter storms. The room, as usual is good and comfortable. The shower, as other have said, is tricky to operate so expect to get a cold shower whilst trying to get it to work. This time, I could not turn off -most unsatisfactory. Wifi is, as always, a bit patchy but better than before as the signal strength has improved. Wifi is in 24h bites only so log in anew every day. The storm struck and the lights went out .. the hotel has no emergency generator so very hard to get ready with the bathroom in total darkness (even when it was light outside). Got my breakfast with my client. There is a pool and leisure centre which I did not use this time. Free to guests. Normally, this would be four stars review so I'll keep it so but this visit was disappointing.

Used spa vouchers.com to stay at this hotel. Great stay as a stop over or on business but would not recommend as a spa break. The room was ok but basic. Spa treatments were great breakfast was good but dinner was not so much. For the price we paid, I do not think it was good value for money.

Rooms very grubby, carpet very worn and didnt look very clean. Swimming pool/changing rooms in need of an extreme deep clean. Used the pool one day wouldnt go the second day as it wasnt clean at all. Restaurant overpriced. Steak & chips and choice of sauce. £24 with an £8 charge so £32 so bland no tomato,mushroom or anything. Breakfast needs more staff one lady doing everything. You have to ask for tea/coffee/toast you almost feel as if your being a nuisance asking but infact its what you pay for. Not a great feeling.

was disappointed with the pool and the changing rooms only used it once and would not go back the 2nd day. book this hotel because they had a pool and it was not clean. the rooms were all damp and the roof in the main reception was linking. ask for 2 rooms next together did not happen.

Great stay at the White Horse Hotel. V comfortable room. Great food and friendly staff. On site leisure facilities added bonus and nice atmosphere in the bar and restaurant on the Saturday night. Really good value for money. Derry is a cool city for a trip. Hadn't been in near 20 years. Visit had been long overdue. Nice to see how the troubles history is accepted but forgotten at the same time. The way it should be

Really enjoyed our stay here. Good sized, clean rooms. Lovely breakfast. Staff from reception to dining to leisure areas - pleasant friendly and helpful. Unfortunate that the steam room seemed to be turned off on our final pool visit and the fire wasn't kept lit at the lounge area... All in all a good visit and good value for money. Would return.

Stayed at the hotel last night and had the suite with the jacuzzi bath. The room was beautiful as was the newly decorated restaurant. Guinness was very nice and food, dinner and breakfast, was excellent. Staff were attentive and friendly. Definitely a 5 star rating from me. I'll be back.

Stayed here for one night with my husband. Good points: The reception area, restaurant/bar and the leisure facilities are all worth their 4 stars. The food in restaurant was excellent. Breakfast was good altho I think they need more than 1 staff which I feel she was Jack of all trades doing service and kitchen jobs. The swimming pool/sauna and hot tub great. Bad points: The rooms! Thy are definitely not 4 star which is a shame and I think let's the place down. Walls are paper thin (we could hear a fill blown domestic argument next door at 3am which went on for 2 hours). The rooms were clean bit outdated and poor decor I thought. If the rooms were 4 star I would have no hesitation staying again but thy are not. Was happy jus staying the one night, don't think I'd like to stay longer.

Sunday lunch, 3 courses. All delicious . Beautiful dining room. Pleasant attentive staff. Will definitely be back. Food fresh and so tasty. Vegetables cooked to perfection - roast potatoes perfect. Lemon meringue gorgeous.

Wedding reception at the White Horse Hotel in December 2021 and we couldn't recommend the white horse and the wedding planner, Selina, enough. We all had a wonderful time. Everything was perfect from the food, customer service and the beautifully decorated hotel! Our room was amazing too! Thank you so much for all your hard work and for making our day so special!

Stayed in the presidential suite and wow what an amazing room. Massive 4 man jacuzzi bath, large king size bed, few bottles of prosecco, water, toiletries, large 2 man shower. Large TV and seating area. Staff very friendly Food excellent Went to the hot tub outdoors for 30 mins and loved it Can not wait to stay again!! Thank you for making our stay so wonderful

Our family booked the white horse to host a funeral lunch last week. The staff were very attentive, looking after our party extremely well, food was delicious and Joy Abraham was extremely kind and professional. I will be back again the next time I'm in Londonderry. Thank you again

Recently had our daughters christening at the White Horse. The staff could not have been any more accommodating. Brilliant service, the food was outstanding and the little add ons and attention to detail just made it even more special. Highly recommend for functions

From the minute we walked through the door the receptionist literally couldn't have been nicer, we were a little early; no problem. We wondered about breakfast to our room: no problem. Arranged our times for dinner and breakfast and off we went to our lovely, clean, fresh relaxing room. I am currently 8 months pregnant and looking forward to this sooo much. Had the loveliest nap in lovely comfortable bed :) We went to restaurant and we were taken straight to our table, accommodated with our complimentary arrival drinks, I asked for a cocktail not even on the menu and this was not a problem. ALL the staff in the restaurant offered us a first class service and their approach to customer service was on point. Off for a walk, hot chocolate in the lobby before bed. The breakfast arrived on time and it was delicious. No nostalgic rubber toast here lol beautiful scrambled eggs and smoked salmon. Absolutely beautiful Spa was disappointing and I am hoping that the next time we go that has changed 5 stars for hotel experience with EVERYTHING Spa rating I don't even want to share

What a ‘great spa day' … Shouldn't have to pay extra for the use of the outdoor hot tub .. should be included in the price. Ridiculous. Also had afternoon tea. I had booked online for this and also phoned to double check my time but when I arrived I wasn't on the system … waited over 40 minutes for them to set up the table+ serve our food. A lot of staff very unfriendly, not welcoming at all, and everything I asked for seemed to be a bother. Don't recommend.

We recently stayed here for our annual Christmas shopping weekend with my daughter. We always have a great time and always return to the White Horse Hotel. Staff is always very welcoming, rooms lovely and comfortable. Food always beautiful. It says a lot about a place when the staff are the same year after year. The service from reception to restaurant is impeccable.

After taking my family of four for a Sunday lunch today it's fair to say we WONT be returning any time soon!! Very disappointing we had our starters and waited nearly 1 hour for the main course after I asked a waiter I believe they had forgot us? Then after the main course was cleared and desert order was taken yet again a long and unwarranted wait of 45 minutes before I gave up and asked for the bill. The waiter apologised and said they were very busy?? One waitress who delivered the main course was asked for more gravy and some horseradish, before we saw her leave out of the door and we had to ask again for this. Not what I expected if local businesses want customers to support them then may I suggest getting a grip on poor service to the customers. Very disappointed.

Love this hotel tucked away in the countryside near Derry-Londonderry. My #1 choice when in the north-west. Comfy rooms. Superb amenities. Fantastic food. Friendly staff. Nice ghost story associated with the hotel as well, if you're into that kind of thing, which I am!

Booked in for a back, shoulders and neck massage…was laying there getting tickled rather than massaged, no pressure at all and the therapist was out of breath…I'd seriously recommend your therapists ask customers how much pressure they'd like and to at least start with using some pressure, honestly it was like being tickled…2 out of 10

We stayed here last weekend. We were greeted by a very friendly receptionist who was very helpful. Our room was very unexpected, fabulous kingsize bed, couch and table, beautiful decor, best of all a double jacuzzi bath with its own tv, it had a separate bathroom with a powerful shower. We decide to eat in the dining room and it was excellent, very tasty. A beautiful open plan room and a lady playing the piano created a relaxing atmosphere. The bed was extremely comfortable and breakfast was exceptional, a big variety to choose from. The hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff were fantastic. We will definitely be coming back.

From the beginning to the end of our stay each member of the team Exceeded expectations. We arrived before check-in time to use the spa facilities and the two women who took our massages are very accommodating sorry I did not catch their names. Afterwards we went to the reception to check-in and Ryan was most helpful. The check-in was simple and easy just what we needed and Ryan was very friendly. We were able to check in a little early which was great. Afterwards we used the hot tub and leisure facilities the man at the spa reception area was again very helpful and friendly and explained how to safely use the hot tub outside. We had another great experience there. At the restaurant the service here was also extremely good. The wait time between courses was short/ perfect amount, the staff very friendly and attentive. Nothing ever seems like too much effort for any of the stuff. It was 3 male members. We visited 21/11/2021 @ 7pm. The hotel is a bit out from the city however we got a taxi into town no issues and cost around £8. We had a family room for 4 adults and found it enough space. Robes provided, toiletries incl shampoo and shower gel for each of us and hand soap. Tea/coffee making facilities in the room and complimentary bottled water. Great stay we have already discussed coming back!

Reception staff very friendly. When arrived after check in time room was not ready, staff rushed to finish hoovering etc. There were hairs in the hand sink plug hole and in bath. Tv kept going up and down in volume on its own. Breakfast service was not good, not told to help ourselves to cereal. Brought coffee and toast which was cold by time fry arrived, no butter on table, very little museli and little bread.

Just spent the weekend here. On arrival I was put off by the tired look outside the hotel and of the reception area. The carpets throughout were old and drab and the bedroom was uninviting but was definitely clean. Tea and coffee making facilities in room as well as bottled water. Bed was comfortable. The bedroom door didn't appear very secure and was hard to lock from inside and the bathroom door opened out into the bedroom which left limited space near the doorway. Didn't realise hotel was so far out of the city but getting a taxi was no problem and cost £8. Food was good and plentiful. Breakfast menu had plenty of choice. Dinner on Saturday evening was delicious and dining room was packed. Staff were lovely. Very attentive and helpful. The dining area was bright and much more modern. All in all we had a good weekend.

CAREFUL.. THEY WILL OVERCHARGE YOU - THEY HAVE DONE IT MULTIPLE TIMES TO US Took my mother and family there (8 people) for Sunday lunch.. and though the food was quite nice the mains were miniscule compared to the carvery they used to do. Even though they have hiked the price by at least £5 per head. On top of that the service was very slow and we were also over charged by £20 (not the first time this has happened to us or others in our party). When I politely questioned this I was rudely and abruptly dismissed by the waiter (Indian guy has been there for years) who would not listen to a word we were saying. We had to argue with him and write everything out on paper before he would finally talk to the manager in a bid to prove us wrong. Finally after a long deliberation they seen that were were right, came back and reluctantly refunded the money, with not so much as an explanation or an apology!! We will never be eating here again.. this has happened multiple times to different people so it is clear they are hoping you don't notice.

never normally leave reviews but feel I should this time. To say we are disappointed is an understatement. We booked this hotel as it looked really nice in the pictures etc however it is anything but nice. The room itself was dirty, hairs in the sink and the bedsheets had dirty marks over them which clearly hadn't been changed from the guests before. The carpet in the hallways need replacing as they are covered in stains. Everything is very dated. However the most disappointing aspect is the attitude of the staff. Upon checking in the receptionist was very unhelpful and unfriendly. We felt like we were an inconvenience to her, even just to check in. When we asked could she book the pool for us, we were told to ring them directly ourselves from our room yet the phone in our room didn't work. When we explained this to the receptionist she told us to walk down and book in with them instead of just picking up her phone to ring for us from reception. Im heavily pregnant might I add! In the end we just gave up and left. Unfortunately we didn't get her name but I really don't think she likes her job and most definitely should not be front of house. Very disappointing.

I booked this hotel for 1 night as a solo traveller as I had an early appointment in Derry City. Car park was free and check in was easy. My room was clean and comfortable and had everything I needed. The price was very reasonable... I ate dinner at the bar and breakfast the following morning. The staff were nice and the food was good. I didnt feel awkward by myself.. I didnt use the pool or spa. Would recommend this hotel for solo travellers or people using the airport. Its also located on the atlantic coastal routes so would be an ideal stop over on the way to Portrush or the Causeway.

Was part of a family party of 28 for Sunday lunch and had an excellent meal, the food was all really lovely and the service was excellent. All in all the afternoon was perfect for the family get-together that we had. Thanks so much.

I enjoyed it so much even though it was out a bit but it was still reachable by public transport i had a lovely stay as well i also got chatting to people and they were very nice the bed was lovely and comfy that i fell asleep straight away and possibly snoring too hopefully i come back sometime again

Poor decor damp mouldy and the menu dose not reflect the food lamb 3 ways arrived as as lamb shank over paid for a drink and the bar man laughed when I asked to be reimbursed for the bottle of beer I did not drink under whelmed by the property as it looked beautiful online

Great menu with lots of local produce at reasonable prices. Try The Quiet Man dessert -you'll need two spoons! Covid précautions good with plenty of spacing. One waiter in particular was great fun and very professional , didn't get his name unfortunately. Good parking and the decor is very nice , the centrepiece of a huge blossom tree is lovely .

Just had a back neck and sholders treatment by martina it was amazing realy enjoyed it thanks martina will be back ejoyed the pool and food was great really good value rooms could do with an update staff were great will be back

Room was freezing when i arrived with my child, room was dirty with cobb webs attached to the light fixtures, holes in the carpets, radiator thick with dust and skirting, this room had not be cleaned for a very very long time. This is completely unacceptable for what is meant to be a 4star hotel its laughable. I made reception aware of this the next morning and just got ooooooooo ok we will pass this on. I decided this needed addressing in writing immediately and got a pthetic and sarcastic response from the apparent manager with still not so much as even an apologie. I WOULDNT STAY HERE IF THEY PAID ME TO DO SO!!!!!!!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Dinner bed and breakfast deal on 11/8/21. Breakfast was booked for a set time the next morning. Waited over 45 mins still no breakfast, others said they'd been waiting over 1 1/2hrs and still no breakfast. We made a complaint and left without breakfast. There was no manager on duty. We were told the duty manager would contact us within 72hrs but they never did. Won't be back, very unprofessional.

Rooms are absolutely disgusting, rooms thick with dust, carpets ripped, cobb webs attached to lights and the rooms absolutely freezing especially with a young child. When i mentioned to reception the utter disgust they said nothing, not even an apologie! Customer service appalling. The food in the restaurant definitely not fresh along with the pathetic cocktails with frozen fruit which I almost lost my teeth too!! Way over priced and when I went to pay for what was a sharing plater they tried to charge a price per person, WHAT??? Ihave sent an email to the manager who responded with not even an apologie and in my eyes very sarcastic comments, I wouldn't stay in this hotel AGAIN IF THEY PAID ME TOO!! STAY AWAY WORST EXPERIENCE EVERRRRR!!! WOULDNT RECOMEND EVER!!!

Friendly efficient staff, lovely food, clean and well presented accommodation, great leisure facilities. I booked a full body massage and it was superb. We have been staying here regularly for 18 years now

I didn't have a chance to enjoy the stay properly, as l booked last minute for a few hours. The room itself was small and clean but needs attention to details. The view was not one of the great l had. Easy check in. The food in the restaurant was lovely and the staff was friendly.

This is an excellent hotel, refurbished to a very high standard. The rooms were large and all linen was fresh and clean. The meals were excellent and good sized portions. The staff were very friendly and knew a lot about the surrounding area. Highly recommended it will not be long to we are back.

Room was dirty in the bathroom , bed was so hard that I think if you sleep on the floor is gonna be more comfortable . I booked massage for my partner I paid £75 he was waiting 1 hour for the treatment , and the girl who massage him said that the massage was to long and she can do the front . Very disappointed . Well the food was amazing I think that was the best thing ..

We had a brief overnight stop here in Mid-August – it's in the Best Western tradition of reasonable quality, low prices so we took two rooms, one Suite known as the Donnybrewer Suite and a family room for my daughter and grandchildren, who picked the hotel as it had a swimming pool and a spa, both of which they tell me were very nice. It's an odd location, it's a low rise structure adjacent to a busy road roundabout which causes a fair bit of traffic noise but that's livable with and there is a huge, free car park front and rear so you should always be able to get parked ! Great greeting from Emma at the open plan reception area/counter and a very informative check in – straight to our room although we were a little early – no problem. Our room was billed as a suite but it's not a true suite – it's a large room with a sitting area as you can see on the attached photographs and in the photographs its location was as per the layout plan I attach. My daughter's family room was rather basic but comfortable, my daughter advises me. There was a problem with the wardrobe bar being broken meaning no clothes could be hung there, the towel rail was lying on the floor and the liquid shower gel dispenser was empty but otherwise their family room was adequate. Our “suite” was fine – cost about £180 for the night and just about worth it – clean and comfortable but don't expect air conditioning, there isn't any and the hot night of 23rd August was a little uncomfortable, even with the windows open as wide as they could be. The Wireless internet was fast(ish) free and functional – no problem there and the bathroom was clean with dressing gowns and slippers but not a lot of general toilet amenities. There was a shower and a separate jacuzzi bath which did not work other than to function as a simple bath – maybe that was just me failing to operate it properly, but I don't think so. The Restaurant was the great saving grace – nicely designed and a comprehensive menu with plenty of choice (see my menus attached) and a pretty good wine list – I think my photographs will confirm this. There were too many efficient staff to mention but Ellen was exceptionally friendly and efficient – an excellent meal and well served – one problem – the salt and pepper cellars were really dirty – we cleaned them – see attached (if Trip Advisor publish the photo at all – there is a habit of not mentioning negatives like this). That's it – not a bad stay – a few glitches that should be improved on but we enjoyed ourselves.

Great Food&drinks , polite staff, perfect service and clean modern room. What more could you want?! Our night away was a real treat. Would highly recommend to anyone and we would definitely be back!!!

Just home from a terrible experience with this hotel room was dated furniture was all chipped beds where fine shower was freezing not very much pressure coming from no WiFi no information in the room broken phone dusty dirty windowsills not a decent bulb working…the bar staff never even acknowledged that we were there, we were waiting to be served even though they where serving tables there drinks around us it seemed to be we had to go to the bar an order, the pool was freezing an needs a lot of work! Def not what it looks like on the pictures overall we did enjoy our spa treatments an the girl working in the spa was lovely we will not be back an do not recommend

Great staff and great stay at the White Horse hotel. Only drawback was having booked a table for a certain time. I didn't get said table until an hour later. Apart from this, you will thoroughly enjoy the hotel, especially the food.

This hotel was a very odd experience. Lovely restaurant, reception area etc but it was like taking a step back in time when we visited our room. The bedroom itself Very dated and the bathroom was grubby, unclean and very old. The shower was desperate. Hardly any pressure and very hard to wash your hair with. The beds were clean and comfortable and we all slept well. The Spa treatment was fair but for overpriced for what you got. The pool area was not the “spa experience” sold to you on the website and brochure. The water was absolutely freezing in the pool and when we asked could we use the hot tub outside they told it was £15, per person, for 20 minutes. We refused to spend £45 after spending £300 in the spa itself. The food was delicious but the service was desperate. We waited so long for our meals and for someone to even take our order for food or drinks. Would not return.

We stayed for 3 nights for a wedding in limavady. Taxi needs to be booked well in advance.rooms were clean but horribly dated. Shower only ran out extremely hot Water for the first day, until we got a member of staff to help run the water through. This took around 10 minutes. Tried to call the reception, phone in the room didn't work and in serious need of updating. We had to phone the pool and reception from our mobiles and the reception barely ever answered. Pool was cold and dirty, jacuzzis were great and beautiful private area but there was a £30 extra cost for 2 people for half an hour, which I really wouldn't have minded if we got longer and if the pool area had been a bit warmer and nicer as part of the pool and jacuzzi visit. The pool reception guy was really helpful and explained everything well. Over all though, I Would not be impressed if Id had a nice beauty treatment and spa day then walked into that, the hotel honestly goes from one extreme to the other in all aspects. Staff in the restaurant were lovely but seemed really stressed most times we visited. Rooms were absolutely roasting hot with no air conditioning, sleeping was a real problem. We got a fan on the last night which didn't really help much. Receptionist on arrival, was really nice and helpful couldn't fault him on anything. The down stairs, reception bar and restaurant were beautiful and the food was great, it really did make our stay a bit better. It's a real pity about the rooms and the pool area because it really has so much potential, but due to the 2* rooms and horrible decor it really did ruin the rest. Bed was comfortable it was a real shame we couldn't sleep because of the room temperature. Overall I would say the rooms really really let the hotel down and the main reason we wanted to stay so far away from the wedding in limavady was because it was the nearest 4* we were willing to travel somewhere with nicer more comfortable rooms. Unfortunately that was not the case for us. The hotel would definitely be worth 4* if the rooms and pool area standard matched the bar and restaurant.

So after been given a complimentary stay and paid for an extra night after the last time me and my wife was there 2 years ago due to a shocking experience we had. We thought not 2 experiences could be the same well wasn't we wrong. What are the odds of being put in the same room 219, the carpet hadn't been hoovered, lights hanging off the wall, having to spend 30mins trying to fine tweek the taps in the shower to set it to a desired temperature, mould on the bathroom ceiling. Cigarette burns on the window ledge, wood lice in the room and generally hadn't been dusted in a while. Then there's the hotel staff staring at guests, my wife made a complaint about 1 of the staff giving her dirty looks everytime she walked by in the bar. As for myself trying to enquire about room service at reception and being lied to by being told there wasn't room service till 11pm when I spoke to a member of staff delivering food to a room next to us at 22:15. Then being told exact words 'I'm done talking to you' However it wasn't all doom and gloom the barman Max was more than welcoming, well mannered and went far beyond his expectations to any guest. He also rectified any situations the receptionist caused. Also since the last time we stayed the restaurant and bar was like going through a time warp, however seeing the renovations it was a great improvement to a more modern update. The food was also very nice., also I like how they kept the grand piano. I would not recommend staying at this hotel absolute waste of money however by all means try the restaurant.

First impressions of hotel were superb on arrival, reception, bar and restaurant all lovely, clean and modern. Then we headed back into a time warp in family room. Worn out carpets, stained bed sheets and a disabled bathroom/en suite like something from the 80's. Room was so poor in comparison to the rest of the hotel. Food was very high quality and beautiful but the family rooms worst we've stayed in

Went for lunch yesterday with a friend. Into reception and into the bar. 2 hand sanitiser stations there with instructions to sanitise hands before entering. Both were empty. Bar lovely, pristine with a nice atmosphere and decor. Asked for a table for 2 and was pointed at a table. We were asked for a drinks order and given menus. Drinks promptly arrived...but took almost 15 mins to come back for our food order. The staff were lovely and professional but not the quickest...and the bar had only a few other people so not as if the staff rushed off their feet... Anyway, food order was taken, fish& chips and a club sandwich...took almost 30 mins before it arrived at the table! Food was good, and I know the argument will be it is all freshly made, but still took far too long to be served at the table. Asked for directions to the toilet..again a hand sanitiser station, again completely empty1 I suppose the tale is don't go there unless you are not pressed for time. Food good, staff good, environment good...just slow. What I can't understand, when the hospitality industry is crying foul over Covid regulations and the restrictions being imposed, is why the hand sanitiser stations are not checked on a regular basis! Empty bottles of santiser are not acceptable and only reinforce the Government's actions with the hospitality industry...

Stayed one night. Not the most fantastic experience. Started well, arrived early before check in time. Receptionist was lovely, and made adjustments to allow me and my partner time to get into the room early drop off our stuff ahead of a scheduled spa treatment at the hotel. We then went for lunch in the bar, two starters (salads) a bowl of chips juice and coke cost £20 (£6 table service charge included). Then made our way to the spa, we were told at reception that we wouldn't have robes or slippers due to COVID which is fair enough. So we were asked to make our way to spa area wearing casual clothes. Facilities were a bit dated and there was no guidance on where to get changed. Both enjoyed the massage though. We were supposed to get taken down to the outdoor hot tub after but no staff took us down so we went down on our own initiative. Staff member asked us if we were going on out in the clothes we were wearing, both of us were a bit confused as we weren't told where the changing rooms were, when I went to ask the lady at the desk, she was gone. Eventually got changed in a toilet area. But when we went out to the hot tub we noticed two other couples wearing white robes and slippers, which looked to be provided by the hotel. Made us wonder why weren't provided with the same? Steam room was out of order (which happens). Went to dinner that night. Was reserved for 7pm to give us time to eat and head into the city reasonably early. Waiter confused things, we booked a four course meal, and when ordering at the desert section he rudely interrupted and told us “order later”. We thought, fair enough maybe that's the way they do it here. Service was good for starter and main, both came out very quickly. Finished the main 7:45 - 8pm. But we were left waiting almost an hour for somebody to take our desert order. Had to catch a waiters attention to get the menu, and had to catch staffs attention again to take the order. Had to wait 20 minutes further before receiving the order. Almost an hour and a half waiting in total for our dessert. They even gave my girlfriend the wrong dessert. When paying they charged the wrong receipt. Seemed very disorganised and hectic. Food was eatable, not fantastic. We informed staff that we weren't happy and they informed us they were under resourced due to COVID so service may not be a constant issue within the restaurant, and in fairness waiter did offer a drink to say sorry, but due to other plans we declined. Three lamps in the room didn't work. During the one night stay, cleaning staff walked into our room 3 times when we were in it. Can understand this happening once but three times? Surely they can monitor what rooms are vacant and what rooms are fulfilled through paperwork or software? I've never witnessed anything like this in any other hotel?

Stayed here for 1 night quite enough bed was so uncomfortable staff is Restaurant haven't a clew 1 waiter doing it all food just ok waited 35 minutes for a desert then had to ask again for it breakfast next morning got porridge with fruit how can you go wrong with porridge they did and still haven't seen any sign of the fruit. Had to pay extra £30 for hot tub in leisure centre.

Absolutely amazing time, first time back in a few years, will not be leaving it as long again. Staff went above and beyond the call of duty during an unfortunate medical issue, they responded quickly and discreetly without fuss. When this was resolved and we could relax they were attentive and helpful, changing our booking times for a meal without question.The food was spectacular, from breakfast through to our evening meals. The bar staff were quick to serve our drinks, the staff in the restaurant were so pleasant and ready to help you if you needed it without hovering over you. They couldn't do enough for us. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and spacious and even though there is a refurbishment going on we were not disturbed at all so our break was not disrupted at all, in fact the only reason we know there was work being carried t was because we walked past a room that workmen were in. A special word of thanks to Ryan on the front desk, an absolutely amazing young man who helped us and we could never convey to him how grateful we are to him. Can't wait to go back again

I would first of all have to compliment the staff on the courteous manner of each and every one of them. During these current difficult times they have followed the COVID rules to a T apart from one waiter who thinks the mask is to protect his chin. Evening meals we had were amazing and reasonably priced. However we have just had breakfast on out final day ( we had booked room only) and the traditional Fry was served on a cold plate. Fortunately most of the fry was warm enough to eat but the fried egg was as expected cold. The rooms are in need of some air conditioning as our 3 day stay was spoiled by the unbearable heat in the room with it being difficult to breathe at times even though we had brought a fan to try and prevent this it didn't really help. It's the first break I've had where I've looked forward to getting home for a rest. Also booked this as a Spa break but the steam room and jacuzzi was out of use so we didn't bother using it. All in all it was an average hotel but I cannot see us returning anytime soon

trying to get a drink is a tough job,all the staff don't know what they are doing.took 30 min for 2 drinks to come then 2 rounds came at once after the bill came first,glasses are warm same as pints there seems to be no comminuation or structure with the bar and waitress staff and nobody who knows what's going on

Fantastic stay, great value for money. Beautiful dinner and well priced too. Friendly, helpful staff with a special mention to Bruno in the spa, who couldn't do enough to help. Planning another trip next month

The ladies at the Spa Michelle, Mackenzie and Linda could not have been more accommodating. Myself and my partner booked a stay to celebrate our anniversary and as our first post covid trip didn't expect things to be so different, everything needing booked in advance (naivety on our part!). However the ladies managed to squeeze us in for a couples massage and even called us to give us the option of a cancellation when it came up. I was massaged by a lady named Linda and it was transcendent. Such a wonderful relaxing experience. My partner was massaged by Mackenzie and had an equally glowing review. Thank you ladies for a wonderfully relaxing morning, definitely book yourself in if you get a chance.

Booked a 2 night stay getaway half board. Keyworker working all through COVID looking forward to relaxing break however ready to leave first night. Safe in room broke, asked for iron waited half hr for a broken one to be sent. Service in bar and beer garden horrendous. Ignored when tried get attention and had to keep going to bar to ask for service despite COVID table service. Empty tables in beer garden left sitting with dirty plates and a cat licking them eating scraps which doesnt give much hygiene confidence. Dinner was appauling, brought the wrong starter, asked for no potato or sauce on plate but got it anyway, cheap ingredients or poor quality. Ordered drinks and had to chase after 25 minutes inly to be topd they missing ingredients for the mojito so sent it anyway with water instead of soda water and no lime. Absolutely disgusting and it went to wrong table, so much for COVID care. Sent it back and still being charged. Manager accepted fault but had nk authority to do anything. Asked reception to check out told to go on our way no one holding us here, no refund but still trying charge is gor drinks we didnt have. Have had no breakfast, told regional manager see us at 10, then 11 now 11.45, and cant leave until we see him so our break is far from relaxing and have never endured such cheeky, rude staff. 2 other rooms are checking out early also complaining so not just us. Shame on you Best Western as we recover from COVID lockdown and need kindness more than ever.

Just stayed here for 1 night. We have stopped of a few times for a drink but never stayed. We got a brilliant offer dinner bed and breakfast. We were so taken a back with the renovations that had taken place. We had the pool booked for our arrival which was spotlessly clean and the fella on the leisure centre reception was very friendly and helpful. Our dinner and breakfast was superb and the staff were fantastic, we were looked after very well from drinks in the the lovely beer garden right through to breakfast the next morning. We will definitely return here hopefully for longer the next time.

Excellent experience at this hotel both staff and accommodation was unbelievable. Food was amazing. Would recommend this place to my friends and will definitely be back. Staff were very helpful with everything. Service was excellent. Will book pool and spa the next time I return.

Arrived 11th June 2021, party of 13 golfers, from arriving until leaving the staff at hotel couldn't do enough for us, bar and restaurant staff very friendly, breakfast choice was perfect, choice of dinner menu was also perfect, great food.

I stayed at the hotel with my 2 friends and we all enjoyed our stay. We had treatments included in the package which we all enjoyed. The staff were all very friendly and there was a good atmosphere in the bar / restaurant even though there was no entertainment. The food was really nice as were our cocktails! The room was spotless and had everything we needed. Great place for a wee overnight stay!

The facial I had from Tina was amazing lovely girl for being her 1st day she done amazing and was welcoming & made me so relaxed , staff are lovely and welcoming also but the swimming pool was freezing and dirty so was the steam room it was dirty we had use of the swimming and steam room for hour but was dirty and stone cold we couldn't use the inside Jacuzzi in swimming was broke what was a shame as that's all we wanted. It was extra 15pp to get into the one that was working which in mt eyes the prices was not worth it if that was what we were getting. The changing rooms had hairdryers that worked well. But again stone cold freezen, the food was lovely. But it would be okay for a cheat drop in and go. Not really for a relaxing day. For a bit of lunch this would be ideal

I booked this hotel as my birthday treat for my Partner. Having lived in Derry for a number of years I was slightly unsure as last time I was in it was a bit dated. However boy was I wrong. The hotel was great. The reception staff on arrival 10.45pm was fantastic. Room was nice and spacious. I was slightly cold but I think that was maybe just me. Breakfast every morning was fine although 2 out of the 4 days there were no pastries which was slightly disappointing (I love a turnover). But the rest of breakfast was great. We both used the gym facilities which was great. All in all I can't fault the hotel abs it's staff. We will definitely be back again.

A really wonderful meal after reopening. Busy restaurant Staff were friendly. Room is small and heating was uncontrollable so made sleeping difficult. Still a nice enough experience and would stay again

Had lunch in the restarant with my elderly parents. Mum has advanced alzheimers. Staff were friendly and helpful. Restaraunt was clean fresh and spacious. Food was excellent. Toilets were spotless.Recommend it whole heartedly. Cant wait to go again.

I booked in for 2 nights on May 30th 2021 I was kept waiting for half an hour then taken to my room to find the room very small and inadequate for my needs. My partner and I did not feel comfortable so we decided we could not stay. The hotel charged us one night out of the 2, considering we were not happy I find it outrageous as 2 pensioner's this hotel as taken our money, shame on them.

The hotel was obviously very quiet because of the COVID restrictions. The staff all seemed to be sticky to the rules and we're all very pleasant and helpful. My room had 2 beds. A large double and a single. The double bed was very comfortable and I had a very good sleep. The hotel and room was very clean. I will definitely stay here again.

This is a very nice place to stay weather for buisness or for leisure. There are great facilities in this hotel. The new restaurant has great food and the staff here are very good. The hotel is out of the loud city but close enough to be able to pop in.

I prefer an out of town hotel when I am travelling for work as they are usually quieter and have decent parking. Both of which are the case here. Location would not be very convenient if you were wanting to do the tourist attractions in Derry city, as it is well out of town. But perfect for me! I have not stayed here before, and my first impression was to be a bit unsure... site fencing in the car park and long low building, looked like a cheap roadside motel. However! Staff at reception any time I spoke to them were excellent. Lobby has a cosy seating area with an open fire which looks lovely (as I was travelling alone I did not sit there! But I'm imagining a girls weekend with a glass of wine sitting by the fire...lovely) Corridors are a bit dated, and a smell of cigarette smoke in one in particular. I was semi-dreading getting to my room. But I was pleasantly surprised, it was actually very nice. Spacious, clean and comfortable and pleasantly decorated. Wet room/bathroom was a little dilapidated and old fashioned compared to the rest of the bedroom. But perfectly functional. WiFi is not great, but not the worst Now to the best part... the food and service in the restaurant Honestly one of the best hotel meals I've had for a long time. The beef cheek tempura was absolutely delicious and such a nice fresh salad. (I don't even really like salad that much, or maybe I've just never had the right one!) The chap who served me was so friendly, helpful and welcoming. Hard to overstate how great it is to come across nice people like this, especially when you're travelling alone all the time. I didn't eat in the restaurant on my first night, as I wasn't in the mood to eat alone and had a takeaway in my room instead. I wish I had! Definitely recommend this place either for a business trip or a ‘get away from it all' stay

Stayed in this hotel for 1 night, food was amazing, nice friendly relaxing atmosphere in the bar and restaurant area, rooms nice and cosy with very comfy beds, I had an amazing 1 hr treatment in the spa, so relaxing and very friendly and welcoming, Belle done my treatment, I would highly recommend the back and neck massage along with a facial if your ever staying at this hotel

Nice hotel, friendly staff. Lovely food with a great menu choice in the restaurant. The bedroom was spacious and very clean and well laid out. It's my third time staying in this hotel and I would have no problem staying there again.

Wow, what a wonderful evening we had yesterday @White Horse Restaurant ( under the current circumstances) . Everything was magical from the beginning 'till the end. Great food, excellent atmosphere with all health &safety measures well observed .Thank you to all the waiters & staff for making my daughter feel like a queen ..A special shout out to DAVID who, as many times before,went above & beyond his duty to make us feel amazing..will definitely return to check out the new addition to the building..

Well worth every penny for this fabulous pamper package. From the wonderful greeting by a very lovely lady on reception, to the great food served both at breakfast and the evening meal and last but certainly not least to the fantastic experience we had with both with the massage and outdoor hot tub. The evening meal (included in and the deal) was delicious and had very generous portions and the waiter very kindly allowed us to take the dessert to our room so we could enjoy after a much needed rest! The highlight of our break was the massage and hot tub. Linda the masseuse was both friendly and professional and we were lucky enough to enjoy the hot tub in full sunshine. All the health centre staff were extremely welcoming and attentive, we even had a workout at the gym!

We had afternoon tea and a spa day here as a much needed treat and catchup. The hotel lacks atmosphere at the reception area and the afternoon tea was very nice with large portions (we got a doggy bag for leftovers) but customer service a bit disappointing, but this was totally made up for when we arrived at the leisure and was greeted by a lovely woman called Michelle who was so bright and cheerful it made us feel very excited for our treatments. We then got the warmest welcome from the therapist bell who introduced Linda the second therapist and explained everything and took us upstairs to what I was told was the new spa facility to do our forms. Well me and my friend are blown away at the experience and are still talking about these girls! amazing is not even how you could describe it, we both have regular healing therapies and can say these girls have the touch. Visited the Hotel yesterday with my daughters for an Afternoon Tea and Pamper Afternoon. We started with the afternoon tea which was in one of the function rooms. The room was quite dark and lacked atmosphere. We were offered tea/coffee which when it arrived wasn't very warm. Prosecco was included in our package, however we had to request this when we were half way through our food as nobody came to offer it to us. Service wasn't great at all, we always had to get the attention of the waiters/waitresses as they never made an effort to come to us. One male was standing in the corner on his mobile phone! When we were ready to leave over an hour later we tried to get the waitresses attention for our bill, she asked did we want more tea or coffee! We expected to be asked this several times during our Afternoon Tea. However, I must say the food we had was lovely! All freshly prepared and plentiful. We then made our way to the Spa where we were treated to a back, neck and shoulder massage which we all agreed were fabulous and left us feelingvery relaxed. The staff at the Spa were so friendly and made us feel very welcome. Although we really enjoyed our food, we won't return or recommend the Afternoon Tea at the White Horse Hotel. Zero atmosphere and service not what you would expect from a '4*' Hotel

My best friend and I visited here at the end of September for the quartz spa package. We were absolutely over the moon start to finish! Bell the spa therapist was incredible she went above and beyond for us. She created a happy birthday plate which was filled with delicious cake for my friends birthday. The shock and surprise on her face really did make my day. The treatment was brilliant and we both walked out of there feeling so relaxed. Once we finished our treated, we entered the relaxation room with hot tubs and a sauna. Bruno was so helpful and kind. He let us sit out in the beautiful sun in the hot tub area. I would recommend this package to anyone and we will most definitely be back. We were made to feel so special and it is a hidden gem in the city!

Another weekend break in this fabulous hotel. This hotel has had a lot of improvements over the last few months. They have added a hot tub area, and a new treatment centre. They are continuing with a refurbishment of the restaurant and bar area which will be tremendous when it is finished. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant on the Friday evening, this was part of our package, a four course meal, use of the pool, sauna, and hot tub. The meal was excellent. The only proviso was that we had to send it back as it was cold. This was a one of occasion as it hadn't happened on previous weekends away. The hotel has been upgraded to a **** and I can safely say it definitely is 4 star standard. The hotel is approximately 10 to 15 minutes away from the centre of the city. Facilities in this hotel are excellent and the staff are very helpful and welcoming. Another visit will be planned in the not to distant future.

Very unimpressed with our stay. Very lax covid measures in place. A lot of staff not wearing masks at all, many wearing masks below nose (not effective) or wearing visors (shown not to be effective). We had dinner at the hotel. The 2 meter rule was not adhered to and people were sitting less than 1 meter away from us. A waiter served us with no mask on, the first time i didn't realise until too late, the second time i had to ask him to stay away. When i mentioned that i was upset about the lack of mask wearing when checking out i was told (by the lady who wasn't wearing a mask) that it was hard to ask clients to wear a mask. However my issue was with Staff not wearing a mask. To make things even worse i had Sterling that i took out in London last year. This was not accepted as payment at the hotel and i was told to change it at a bank. As a guest to NI i don't have a local bank account and the money itself could have easily been taken and exchanged by the hotel as a gesture of good will. I would not ever stay here again and will advise others to stay away. If hygiene is this lax in front of clients i shudder to think how lax it is behind closed doors.

Just came back from an amazing 2 night stay at this hotel. As it was our 1st time away since lock-down we both were a bit nervous. We didn't need to be worried as this hotel had everything possible checked for COVID-19. The food was amazing on both nights. The massage we had with our package/deal was out of this world and I would highly recommend it and the 2 beauty therapists Belle and Mackenzie as they have hands of gods. It has been a long time since I had a massage this good. I would have no problem recommending this hotel to anyone.

Amazing lovely staff but the hotel itself is a let down rooms shabby need refurb furniture carpets and bathroom. Beds are comfortable. Communal hallways strange fusty musty smell. Communal furniture very dirty thick with dust no attention to detail. Bar Restaurant no atmosphere as they are refurbing the old bar restaurant. Staff lovely in bar and restaurant but just so so slow. Feel bad writing this review but it was a disappointment meant to stay 2 night left after 1st night although reception very kindly gave me a voucher for the 2nd night. Again just my own personal experience I would not recommend this as a 4 star. It's more an average 3 star. Again lovely staff

stayed with family and the staff could not be more friendly. They went above and beyond!! Restaurant food was amazing and value for money!! Leisure facilities were also good! Would definitely recommend staying here!

Derry/Londonderry is a stunning city and the best place to stay and be made to feel wel come is The White Horse. We ahve stayed in this hotel alot over the years and 5 family members have had their weddigns there. If you want a break away & wnat to stya somewhere which makes you feel like you are with family or good friends then The white Horse is the best choice. Great Hotel Team, Great Food, Great value for Money. Hope to see you all in October. Thank you as always for a great stay. :)

Just back from a very relaxing break. When we arrived in the carpark our thoughts were not good it looked a bit untidy and tired but on entering the reception area we soon changed our minds. Receptionist was really efficient and plenty of covid precautions in place. Our room had everything we needed for a short break although the ensuite was tiny. We had breakfast and evening meals on 2 days and were very impressed with the quality of the food and the service from the restaurant and bar staff. The quiet area to the side of reception for a nightcap was very pleasant to sit in after our meal. The hot tub was a lovely place place to unwind and we followed this with a massage in the health suite, again the staff were thoughtful and very pleasant. Although the hotel is not in a great location I would recommend it to anyone wanting to get away for a relaxing break in a very clean and well run hotel.

Was a bit apprehensive about staying here for a few nights with wife & kids as there had been some iffy reviews online. I really don't know why there were any negative reviews. This was a real find for us. Staff exceptionally friendly at all times, lovely night porter who chatted away in the evenings while I had a socially distanced pint after dinner. Rooms were lovely and the leisure centre very good. Food was very good & reasonable. The only possible drawback is the location, the hotel is outside Derry City on a dual carriageway and not within walking distance of the city. So its maybe not the kind of hotel that you would be staying around all day but as a base it is absolutely ideal, we did the Inishowen Peninsula Day 1 & Derry City & Bennone Beach Day 2, so basically you can use this hotel as a great base for exploring the region. Covid protocols were strictly being adhered to. Great Hotel.

My son and I had a meal here on Tuesday night. Amazing quality meal, 3 courses for £20 (£10 with eat out scheme) - roast dinner was awesome, massive serving of beef. All Covid regulations in place. Will be back very shortly!

The White Horse is a secret haven in the beautiful wilds 5 mins outside Derry. We booked the Spa Escape package and we are already discussing our return. From booking through to check out the staff were outstanding, such a warm welcoming friendly group, helpful and professional. A special mention must be made about the bar staff and Belle the massage therapist. My shoulders haven't sat so low since February. The White Horse has clean spacious rooms, a fully equipped leisure centre and wellness area and amazing offers to suit any occasion, special or splurge. Great food and service from breakfast to dinner if you are thinking about it, book it.

Booked a last minute trip as our holiday was cancelled. Honestly could not have been more pleased with the hotel. Pleasantly surprised by the quality of everything and the relatively cheap price. Fabulous suite for us and a lovely double room for our teens. Hotel staff were all so welcoming and helpful - even the bar and restaurant staff maintained their smile despite being run off their feet at times. Already planning a return trip!

me and my partner and my 3 year old son theyed at this hotel and I would not be returning back in a hurry it was awful. Wen we arrived we with in a room that had one bed and no cot/bed for my son even o I asked for one when booking. My partner went for a bath and noticed the room above us had water coming down on him wen he was in the bath so we called the staff and they moved us to a even worse room that was very warm and a light that flickered all night long. That night we went for dinner in the hotel and that was enuff for me we had my son which is 3 and we sat down for dinner at 8pm and didnt get served till 10pm where my son was nearly sleeping dinner dodnt get to us till 10.45 which I think is bad

Late last year was when we last ate in this restaurant. Dined there last night accompanied by another couple (friends.) The food was hot, tasty and of great quality. Staff were courteous and attentive. Reccommend.

I booked my elderly parents in for a weekend stay. Bedroom basic but clean; however a broken shower dispenser in the bathroom provided a wonderful opportunity to impale anybody unlucky enough to slip in the bath (room 114) My Dad was as kind enough to book 11 of the family for breakfast this morning which is where the hotel really let itself down. We all arrived in dribs and drabs and were shown to a table with 7 (not 11) settings and chairs. Despite asking several times for the additional 4 people to be catered for we were simply ignored for 20 minutes... given the challenging times we find ourselves in we simply cracked on with it and helped ourselves to chairs, crockery and cutlery from surrounding tables... 1st world problem!! Long story short we had incorrect and missing food orders which were taken by one of the most unpleasant waitresses(blond hair in her fifties / sixties) I've had the misfortune to encounter. My wife had to ask her not to pass boiling pots of tea and coffee over the heads of a pair of three year olds... the best bit is she did it again almost for badness!! If you've got children perhaps it's worth giving this establishment a very wide berth. My eight year old was served 15 minutes after everyone else... despite 2 gentle reminders to bring the complex order of porridge and honey. I don't ordinarily bother complaining as sometimes folks are just having a bad day but this was my second encounter with the self same waitress so I asked one of her colleagues if the poor service we'd been receiving was usual. He was so jaded and apathetic that the best he could say was that the poor service was “no problem”... evidently. I really wanted to let it go and enjoy the chance to catch up with family but on the way out I had a change of heart and asked to speak to a manager. The receptionist informed me that he was too busy (dealing with 2 remaining tables in the dining room along with 4 other members of staff; pathetic) and would call me... I declined the offer of a call.

myself and my friend decided to book in for afternoon tea, on arrival we were shown to our table which looked OK. The first thing was when i lifted my cloth napkin to put on my lap I discovered it was covered in pink lipstick and other makeup. When the waiter finally came back 20 mins after we arrived we ordered coffee, 5mins later a pot of tea was left on the table to which we had to wait again for someone to come back so we could ask for the coffee that we had originally ordered. 35 minutes after we arrived a plate containing 2 so called "posh" sausage rolls and some kind of chicken tureen, im not sure what was inside the sausage rolls but it looks like black haggis type stuff and smelt even worse than it looked, we both tried a mouthful but you literally couldn't have eaten it and as for the chicken thing it smelt like dog food and looked even worse but we both gave it a go but it was grizzly, cold and tasted off. Next out tray of sandwiches, scones and tea bites arrived but everything was completely different to what had been advertised? We were both looking forward to beef and mustard, cheese and chutney, smoked salmon etc instead we got ham and cheese, watery egg and onion and some kind of coronation chicken? Non of which were nice but because we were both so hungry we tried to eat what we could (which wasn't very much). While we tried to eat the dining room was emptied and the 2 waiters started moving tablets and setting up for what I think was dinner service around us, banging tables and chairs about us the waiter then stood behind my friend with his hands on his hips sighing and looking at his watch as if to say "will you hurry up" even though we were only 10 minutes into eating. The same waiter continued to do this until he finally got fed up and left. We thought we would give the scones a try but when we lifted the the bottom of them were wet and mushy? We cut the tops off and i took a bite but they tasted like they had been made a few days ago and either frozen and then microwaved or heated up in some other way? But once again they were completely unable to be eaten. Finally we looked at the tray bakes which had sounded so good on the menu but were nothing like we had hoped for and once again weren't able to be eaten. I was so disappointed at having to pay £40 for something that we both couldn't eat that i spoke to a member of staff and explained everything but all I got was an empty sorry? So basically we have both came away as hungry as we were when we arrived but with £40 less in my pocket. To say we were disappointed would be an understatement but one thing I can definitely say and that is we will NEVER EVER be back.

The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The food was amazing and the food portions were every big we couldn't finish the meals. The hotel was very clean. The rooms are a good size. Well definitely be back again soon.

The staff everywhere in the hotel were very friendly and helpful, the overall standard of service was excellent. The room was a good size and very clean and comfortable. The evening meal and breakfast were excellent especially the evening meal it was one of the best I have had in any restaurant. The spa facilities were good and my massage was very relaxing. The only downsides were that it was a little remote and the lounge bar was very drab and did not fit in with the rest of the hotel, it looks like it could benefit from remodeling. Al in all an excellent experience and we would definitely go back. James

Had a really lovely stay from start to finish, wanted a relaxing weekend away and that's what we got. Food and drinks were fabulous. Spent some time in the pool and had a reflexology treatment done by Linda and it was beautiful. Highly recommend.

My wife and I stayed here as part of a wee trip to Londonderry. Room was nice and clean, with everything that you need for a trip into the city. Breakfast was the real highlight with very friendly staff and a wide selection. Only downside was we were planning to use swimming pool but were only informed that a local womens and children's group uses it on a tuesday morning between 1030 and 1330, wiyh no residents allowed to use ug during this time. If we had been informed of this arrangement, we would have used thd pool a different day, so we felt this took the shine off our stay.

My daughter treated us to a break at the White Horse Hotel Co. Londonderry A nice couple of nights in a functional road side hotel . Clean , good bed rooms plenty of towels & linen. Leisure facilities, indoor pool etc ,if you're in the mood, though bear in mind it is also open to the public so there are times of the day it is unavailable to patrons of the hotel. Really good value for money as we paid £95 for b/b & evening meal with a glass of wine. Certainly recommend for a 'short stay',.

Great stay and amazing that they provide such great offers. Room, breakfast and meal were fantastic! Receptionist on arrival was great and staff throughout the stay were more than helpful. Highly recommend to everyone!

I was at a wedding here recently and the food was beautiful . Staff very friendly and the rooms were so clean !!! Not to mention the bed was amazing! Most definitely be booking in for a weekend away soon as I hear the spa is great also

Booked via Spa weekends to treat the wife as she is a main career for her father. It was a two night break pre meal cocktail followed by a 4 course meal on one night. It also included a neck and back massage. Hotel staff on arrival where very good, and the staff in the treatment area where excellent, but thats where the good review ends. Rooms/Hotel very dated, I have not had a two tap shower experience since the early 90s and standing turning each tap to get the right temp each morning a complete pain. Remote control battery area was sealed of with black electrician tape. Treatment team were great but what is the point of playing relaxing music and burning oils to relax you, when young children can play right outside the door of your treatment room waiting to get into the pool. On the evening of our meal I enquired where our pre meal cocktail was only to be told it wasnt part of the package, and unless I could provide further proof then none would be supplied which made me feel uncomfortable the rest of the meal, and thus ruined the evening. Breakfast is good standard and staff again are good, but area very small trying to cater for that many people getting up and down retrieving their breakfast. This is a family based hotel and one that a lot of young familes enjoyed, its is certainly not an ideal spot for a SPA weekend

Good value. Stayed for one night. Comfortable room, Great staff, lots of free parking. The restaurant is also good value and the food very nice as well. We had the early bird special and could not eat the amount they served us. It has a good pool and a very well equipped gym. The only minor observations was the WiFi could be a bit temperamental with slow speeds from time to time but that didn't spoil the stay.

While this hotel might look appealing online it is definitely not 4 star. It's basically a roadside patched together attempt at a hotel - 3 star at best. The standard rooms are overpriced, poorly laid out, cold, badly finished, the wifi lagged badly and the bedroom wardbrobe ( behind a door) was effectively was a freezing cold ice box that cooled the whole room down when opened. The safety deposit box, phone and shower enclosure were broken in our room - room 121. The common areas and corridors were badly run down and worn , the pool area was cold and draughty and there was badly ripped seating in the bar area. The staff were nice and did their best but don't expect anything more than basic motel style roadside accommodation here. After getting to the room I actually felt like driving on. Had I not already paid, I would have. Very dissapointing compared to how the hotel is portayed online. Don't get fooled and tempted to stay here believing you're going to a 4 star hotel. I wish I had read a recent review like this before staying. Overall a dissapointing way to experience Derry.

This was a lovely hotel and staff were very friendly. There was an open fire and a relaxed atmosphere. Bedroom and bathroom had everything we needed and both were very clean! Handmade cookies were a lovely touch - and very tasty too! We used the pool/ steam room and sauna, all which were great! We had dinner in the hotel which was lovely. The live piano music during dinner was very entertaining and created a beautiful atmosphere. Cocktails were great too! Would definitely stay here again.

My wife and i won a 6 course Valentines meal on a facebook competition and omg!! what a fantastic night we had!! The waiting staff are without doubt the most friendly, attentive and all round lovely bunch of staff i have ever encountered. The food was all absolutely gorgeous and all the special touches added made our night simply brilliant. Pink fizz, teddy bears, shots of guinness infused with oyster, different breads, tray bakes to take home, red roses handed out & serenaded by an absolutely brilliant vocalist who was so so good (im sorry i didnt get his name) all made our night very very special indeed. The hotel itself is gorgeous inside and very homely indeed. I really was touched by the waiting staff so have to give them another mention. Brilliant night, brilliant food, brilliant entertainment, brilliant staff. What more can i say but thank you all so so much!! Happy couple tonight and absolutely spoilt rotten. 5 big stars from us!!

I stayed as part of a group of 7 ladies through the here comes the girls package and the entire experience was amazing! Spa was fantastic, dinner amazing and overall stay was perfection! Will be back!

So welcoming and helpful the staff are lovely we had a meal on second night which was devine Although outside the city don't let this put you off good bus links and don't forget the facilities you have pool ect But I would advise that you stick to City Cab when getting taxi the prices were consistent around 6_7 pound whereas another firm charged us £13 ???? Not withstanding I reccomend this hotel wholeheartedly

We had a family gathering here for Christmas. We have used other venues in the past and have been slightly disappointed. Not with the White Horse. We booked the Campsie Suite for 50+ guests. It's always a little worrying going somewhere new but Selina made everything very easy. On the night everyone enjoyed themselves and the food, we had the finger buffet, was great and good value. We had our own bar and Dion looked after us very well. David was very attentive with nothing too much trouble. Abby at reception was very good and very helpful with sorting things out. Thank you all for making it such a great evening. We will most definitely be coming back again next year.

Myself and three friends stayed here overnight on Saturday 25th January 2020. From the minute we arrived we were made feel very welcome. The receptionist was lovely, happy and eager to make our stay the best it could be. The girls in the spa were fantastic. Very chatty and cheerful, and the therapists were amazingly good at their job too. We used the restaurant for all our meals and were not disappointed. There was a great range available and something to suit all tastes. We were very well entertained after dinner, in the bar/lounge by a great singer who covered everything to suit all ages. I would highly recommend the white horse hotel.

Nice hotel, excellent food, friendly staff....just needs a bit of modernisation but overall great value.. A bit outside the city centre but taxi cheap enough if you want to experience the city... There was entertainment on in the lounge in the evening

Hotel good, room good food good, leisure facilities good. spa area lovely. Had treatments by martina which was very professional but friendly, made me feel very comfortable! Overall Would definitely book again! Strongly recommend.

Had a nice stay with my fiance the staff were friendly and helpful.The food was good and good service too. The hotel is a short taxi journey from city centre,we also enjoyed the leisure facilities and would stay again.

4 of us stayed here recently. Easy to find. Free easy parking. 10 minutes drive into City centre. Quiet at night. Lovely beds and pillows etc. Vey modern bathrooms/shower. All the corridors smelt lovely. Great open fire and sofas to relax around after lunch and dinner. Restaurant lovely and all staff very friendly and courtous. Rooms and communual areas very well kept. Will be happy to come back.

Cosy and comfortable hotel on the outskirts of Derry/Londonderry. Lovely open fire in the lobby makes a great welcome to the hotel. Hotel has both bar and restaurant. Recommend the restaurant as food excellent - had the best scampi, I ever tasted! Breakfast served here and great choice of buffet and hot breakfast. Staff very efficient and friendly. Bedroom was a good size with comfortable bed, tea/coffee facilities with beautiful home made biscuits. Bathroom good size with shower with great pressure. Hotel has pool and small spa. Had a couple of treatments with Martine and this was excellent!

We had an overnight stay on Saturday 14th December, upon arrival we booked in for an evening meal and breakfast the next morning. Breakfast cost us £21.90 for 2 people. When we came to get our evening meal we hadn't been booked in, but were lucky enough to get a table, food was good. Next morning we came down for breakfast it was obvious there was not enough staff to cater for the quantity of people staying, there was no pure orange juice waited 10 minutes but still no one filled it up, there was no one to fill up the trays for the fry. Our fry consisted of a slice of bacon , about 6 beans and a tablespoon of scrambled egg. This cost us £21.90 ridiculous!!!!

I had a lovely relaxation in the hotel which l needed badly.l will highly recommend it.The staff are very pleasant and helpful too.The value on groupon too was outstanding and would definitely book them again.

My brother and I stayed over the Christmas break (24th to 28th December 2019) in an Executive Suite. Room was Fabulous, Food Delicious and the Staff very Friendly and Welcoming. Hope to stay next year.

Had a back shoulder and neck massage with Linda. I was greeted on arrival from a lovely friendly girl on reception. Linda put me at ease and showed me to the changing room and gave me towels and gown. The massage was amazing so relaxing in a beautiful treatment room using Decleor products. When I was finished the staff made me tea while I waited on my husband who was using the pool. Definitely recommend a treatment at The White Horse so worth it

We took the new years eve package, which was disapointing. Quality of food below average for a 4 * hotel. Lumpy, suken mattress, room not cleaned thoroughly ....chocolate wrappers and usedXmas napkin in bed side drawer

We have just returned from a 2 night stay here and honestly had a great time. The staff we came across were all friendly and pleasant. The rooms were spacious and clean (we had two rooms as we are a family of 5). We used the pool a few times and the kids loved it, towels and lockers are provided which is great. We didn't eat in the restaurant but did order room service both evenings and couldn't fault anything, the food was delicious and very reasonably priced. The breakfast was amazing, such a great selection and my children loved the pancake machine. Overall a fab stay and only a 10 minute drive from Londonderry town centre.

Just came back from a stay in the hotel. The room was lovely. Had everything we needed. The breakfast was lovely. The jacuzzi was part or the swimming pool and was cold . The steam room and sauna is first class .. me and my partner had a back and neck massage. From Linda It was unreal definitely recommend her .

Stayed here for a weekend break. Location is great just outside the city approximately 10 minutes by car into the centre. Facilities include gym, sauna, steam room and pool. Restaurant is first class, although menu could do with updating. There is a bar which shows sky sports. Rooms have recently been updated to a good standard, staff are very friendly and very helpful. Would definitely recommend a visit.

I can highly recommend this hotel. My daughter and myself stay here for a christmas shopping trip. The hotel is friendly, cosy and very welcoming. Staff are all extremely friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Food is excellent. Very convenient to the city.

Good morning just a quick note to say we enjoyed our stay so much for the staff was excellent, service and friendly for our two rooms was lovely and comfortable beds. We had our dinner last night in the restaurant the waitress that served us Claire was very pleasant and friendly couldn't have done enough for us plus this morning at breakfast two ladies Valerie and Margaret like that couldn't do enough for us really makes a difference to the hotel the staff. We had our evening wedding party here over the weekend and the service was amazing. All details were taken care of and everything went perfectly. The staff were extremely attentive at all times and always willing to help out. All our guests raved about the food (fish and chip cones). Would highly recommend!

We booked the White Horse Hotel for an evening event to present certificates to a group of young people. The staff at the hotel were excellent especially Selina who was fantastic and couldn't have been any more helpful. The room we had was perfect and the buffet we had was lovely. The feedback from the young people was that the chicken goujons were gorgeous and I think the empty dish spoke volumes! I can't thank the staff enough for their help and it was great value for money also. Will definitely book again for future events

Myself and my boyfriend came here on the 9th November for the couples afternoon tea package. This included a 30 min massage, access to the facilities and then afternoon tea. Being a therapist myself I have high expectations but we were not let down at all! Linda and Shabelle are excellent therapists that have a lovely way about them, and are a credit to the White Horse. Also the lady at the facility reception (I can't remember her name) was brilliant as well! Thank you so much we will definitely be back!

My sister and I experienced the Ruby Pamper Package today. We had use of the pool, steam room and sauna, a delicious 2-course lunch and then a 1-hour hotstone masssge. I also had the Dėclėor Facial. Linda performed my treatments and I can highly recommend her for her gentle touch, calming manner and wonderful technique.

The hotel was excellent with comfortable rooms and great food and a great big pool, sauna , steam room , and Gym and the staff where fantastic , the entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights was brilliant. We have stayed here 3 times before and each time the food and the staff and the entertainment have never been less than excellent.

Staff friendly and helpful. Rooms are cosy and comfortable. Parking right beside entrance very convenient to the Airport. Relatively close to the City of Derry the perfect accommodation if you are intending to travel around the Causeway Coastal Route.

Just returned from what was supposed to be a nice Time Together break at White Horse Hotel. So disappointed. On arrival our room was cold. We did ask and the heat was turned on. Food in the restaurant was nice. However we awoke early in the morning to this loud continuous noise and it sounded like a very loud extract fan. We opened the window to see if we could locate where it was coming from and then found it was actually the bathroom. This went on for at least 3 hours. We asked at reception on our way to breakfast what it was, as we could hear it all along the corridor 2nd floor, we were informed this was turned on every morning to extract steam from people taking showers and that they would leave it a bit later for the following morning! Breakfast was not very appealing and it was difficult to find something tasty there it was all very bland. WI-FI was intermittent. Not what you'd expect from a 4*hotel. After our early morning overall uncomfortable-experience we decided to cut our losses and head for home. We will never go back there or recommend it to anyone.

We have stayed at the White Horse numerous times and each time just gets better and better! Last weekend we booked a last minute stay (literally 5 mins before our arrival at approx. 7pm) and what a great stay it was. The room/bathroom, as always, was absolutely spotless and very spacious We got dinner in the hotel and the food was spectacular. We both got a complementary sample of pumpkin soup and as fussy/skeptical eaters we were unsure to try but so so so glad we did.. it was absolutely beautiful and would looove to have it again. We also both had steaks (as we generally always do in restaurants) which were amazing; great meat and definitely one of the nicest steaks we've had! All the staff throughout our stay were extremely helpful and went above and beyond their duties. One waiting staff in particular was phenomenal and definitely a credit to the hotel.. anything we asked wasn't too much for him.. even though we had him running back and fourth to the bar for drinks. He was great at recommending cocktails too- although with a sore head the next morning I'm not sure if it's a good or bad thing hahaha (unfortunately we can't remember his name- must of been the cocktails he ensured were always topped up). We were checked on multiple times by different staff to ensure everything was perfect - and so it was! Even though the restaurant was packed, there was no corners cut or stressed staff, they were all patient and extremely helpful. We cannot wait for our next stay - which I'm sure will be very soon! We couldn't recommend The wonderful White Horse enough wether just for food, a few cocktails or over night stay. If you haven't been you're certainly missing out!!

Me and my mum received a voucher for an afternoon tea pamper day for mothers day. When we arrived we were warmly welcomed by Laura and another girl. My mum had the massage and she said it was absolute heaven, one of the best she has ever had and i opted for the facial which was fantastic, Laura made us feel so relaxed- i almost fell asleep! We then went for a swim and used the other facilities which were great too. Laura then kindly showed us to the restaurant where we had a beautiful afternoon tea, it was a real treat. We will deffinately be back again soon!

Checked in at 2pm and had a back neck and shoulder massage for 3, from the moment I stepped in through the doors, I was welcomed by amazing staff at the front desk, as for the massage it was second to none one of the best massages if not the best I've had in a long time! carried out by Linda!

Dropped off by a taxi that drove off with my suitcase and passport. No hope of getting it for 3 days, flight tomorrow. The Hotel staff were amazing! Particularly the restaurant manager Joy Abraham. He knew nothing of my woes but greated me with a well needed ear to ear grin and a wonderful meal. Appropriate level of attentiveness. The travelling German choir singing beautifully as I ate and the amazing Trio of lamb also helped. They have made arrangements to recover my suitcase and send it on. Nice rooms and facilities.i feel much happier.

Found this hotel ( which was only 30 minutes from my house) online on escapes.ie. I got an amazing offer and I even phoned the hotel to upgrade to the Clooney Suite - very recommended. I really wanted to treat my wife to a relaxing night away and this hotel certainly delivered. We 100% will be back and I will have no problem paying extra to upgrade to one of their 2 suites again. The room, food, staff and amenities I simply could not fault. The bed was amazing - huge and we sunk into the mattress.

Booked a two night stay at the hotel and found it to be excellent! The reception staff were amazing nothing was too much trouble The atmosphere was friendly and warm.We booked into the restaurant one evening for dinner and the food was superb it was very reasonably priced, the beef was nothing short of exquisite! The restaurant staff were fantastic sorry didn't get the name of the young lad who served us but he was very efficient and pleasant and Joy Abraham was so lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed the nice the atmosphere as well as the food. The room was warm and cosy and bed was very comfortable.The breakfast staff were warm and friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Breakfast was fantastic lots of choice all hot and well presented. Would definitely recommend the hotel and in our view it should be five star! Please thank all the staff for us who made us so welcome. We will be back!

Stayed here recently on a Friday night along with my wife and young son. We were really happy with the family room that we were given as it was very large and bright. It was a cool evening but the room was comfortably warm and cosy. We all agreed that the shower was very invigorating and one of the best we have ever had in a hotel. The two course meal that we all had was really enjoyable and prepared to a very high standard. The service by Joy and the rest of the staff throughout the hotel was very friendly and professional throughout our short stay. After dinner we we went into the lounge where we were entertained by a very talented young female singer. The bar prices were all sensible compared to most of the bars back in Belfast where we live. All and all a lovely hotel, we left the next day and agreed that we had a wonderful time and would return again soon.

My daughter booked this on my reccommendation as a night a way for my birthday. Arrived mid Oct and found the hotel to be cold in general but our room was really chilly. I turned the radiator on full and went to use the leisure facilities. The pool and jacuzzi were also cold, in fact the only heat I felt was in the sauna and steam room. We went back to our room to heat up and get ready for a night out and found the radiator still cold. I rang reception and they sent someone up. He said it needed maintenance who would not be available on a saturday night but he could supply us with 2 blow heaters! I said for 4 star I would prefer a room with heating that works. Reception called 2 minutes later to say no rooms were available nor could we get a refund to enable us to look for somewhere else. I found their attitude unbelievable. Would not go back nor reccommend to anyone else.

The taps in both the sink and the shower/ bath have never seen the use of a toothbrush and cleaning solution . Reception stairs not hoovered at 2 o' clock in the day . The spa room directly beside the changing rooms so during a lovely tranquil massage bought by my daughter as a birthday treat I had to hear the huddle and buddle in a changing room and someone coughing loudly . The afternoon tea which my daughter also purchased as a treat was lovely but served in an alcove looking into the corridor of the main door so people passing could watch you eating !! Very disappointed since it was a birthday break .

My partner and I both came here for the first time this weekend, and we both have nothing but positive things to say. All the staff are lovely, the food is excellent and the rooms and facilities are great. A big thank you to Laura and Linda in the beauty rooms. Our first time having a massage here and they were both fantastic! If you're ever staying in this hotel, call in and make an appointment. You'll love it. Also, a big shout out to Claire the receptionist!!

We stayed for 2 nights would definitely recommend it check in was great .bedroom clean and comfortable. Food excellent both breakfast and evening meal .Staff all very pleasant and helpful. Hotel in great location away from all the buzz in the city great place to relax and leisure center was excellent steam room, sauna, Jacuzzi, pool , fitness area everything was work ing , changing area very clean and spacious.looking forward to returning

Stayed here for 1 night. Very nice hotel, great staff, got a cookie in our room! Restaurant has excellent food, bar has lots of selection. Wifi isn't great but whatever! Highly recommend this hotel when here

The White Horse was a perfect venue for Norwex to hold their Live Event in the North West of the province. The room was laid out as requested and the friendly staff were on hand to assist in any way. We were pushed for time so the restaurant mananger brought us refreshments & menus to the meeting room. We were delighted to have our event well attended & therefore needed extra chairs, staff worked very efficiently in organising them. Nothing was too much bother for any of the staff. Would highly recommend The White Horse Hotel and our company will certainly use this wonderful hotel again.

Rooms were ok. Do not go to this hotel if you need reliable WiFi. This was hands down the worst WiFi I've ever experienced, including time in Haiti with occasional power outages. The hotel prohibits food or drink from outside being brought in. The hot tub was in a state of disrepair and was unusually. Pool restrooms not a priority for cleaning. Staff was friendly and apologetic, but that only goes so far.

i have just spent a couple of nights in this lovely hotel near Derry City. The food is very good and all staff were extremely helpful and friendly. My only concern was the sometimes poor wifi reception in the bedroom, which I failed to mention, but it wasn't a serious problem for me. I have no hesitation in recommending the hotel and would definitely stay again.

Was so excited for this stay. But we where rushed out of the restaurant. The room was old and dated. The shower and bath water temp was so bad. My husband burnt himself. Meant to be a live band and there wasn't. Reception staff and manager where lovely. Food was amazing just a shame we where rushed so much. No atmosphere at all. Very dull. Where there for a date night as they have a package and didn't want to be in the to busy center. So picked here for the option of the live music in the bar and there was none. 165 pounds wasted.

This was my 5th tine staying in the hotel and I can assure u I won't be back I arrived for my sisters birthday stay payed the bill on arrival the spa girls was brilliant with our massages and facials went for dinner that night to be met by the young waiters who were so rude because the girl in reception didn't give us our voucher for me I explained with and told them to go and take it up with them we got handed the wrong menu we ended up going to the manager with the service we were getting as it was a disgrace we have never got treated like this in this hotel then this morning we went down to check out early and got handed a bill to pay for a child who was already paid for yesterday I explained with to the rude fella who was on the desk he wasn't having none of it he was like use have to pay I said how come the girl told us he was included and ask another guy to look over it and he said the same he said that girl is still training and doesn't no her job yet which if she is still training she shouldn't be left alone he then check our two rooms and said they have over charged for one of them but use still have money to pay towards the child I explained again that we payed yesterday he was so rude we asked for a manager which we got ignored from him I have never met a rude person in my life he should not be on the reception trying to help people I think you need to train your staff more on customer service as when I was here before I have never been treated like this and it was all new staff not happy at all !!!!!!

We went down to Derry for a wedding.Family of 4 . All the hotel staff were so helpful, genuinely lovely to us. Our room was prepared for a family of 4 sharing. We had enough towels ,soap and drinking water. The room was very spacious , very very clean and the beds were so comfortable. I know hey it sounds too good to be true but having been travelling all summer to different hotels in the UK and US , I was pleasantly surprised. The food was excellent and the service was with a genuine smile and very fast and efficient. Definitely going back.

A beautiful little hotel with character and prestige. It was the location of our wedding reception recently and we were delighted with the entire package. The food was exquisite and the service was fantastic with no request deemed too much. Our guests were full of praise for the venue, the quality of the food and even the location - just a few minutes from the Foyle Bridge. The hotels Wedding Coordinator Selina was very easy to work with yet extremely professional and made our preparations so much easier. The rooms were also very clean and spacious.

My friend and I went to celebrate her birthday. From the minute we walked in we were treated like superstars. Stacey at the front desk was fantastic. Laura and Linda , our beauticians were amazing. They recognised that we hadn't seen each other in a while and that it was an emotional surprise and suggested that we used the pool, sauna and steam room before we began our treatments. This gave us time to have a wee catch up .Soo thoughtful, as I'm sure it meant they had to work later. This was very much appreciated. Our treatments were heaven. I had a manicure and pedicure. My friend had facial and massage. Outstanding!!! Then we had our afternoon tea in the restaurant. Again the staff were fantastic, so attentive yet not intrusive. We couldn't finish the food and yet we had been starving. So the left overs were kindly boxed up for us to take home. Overall we had a very relaxing and wonderful day. The staff are a credit to the hotel. Thank you for making it so special. You will definitely see us again. Clare and Patriciax

Really well kept impressive hotel . Food perfect and staff more than happy to help . Very happy. Ample ar parking even for my coach and a short drive to the centre of derry itself . Pub ajoined which is always good !

Had a facial and my daughter had a massage with the lovely Linda. Can easily say it was the nicest most relaxed time I've experienced in a while. All staff were fantastic and food was delicious, will definitely be going back, cant wait.

My wife and I held our civil partnership reception here and we had an amazing evening. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a great evening. They have a really nice event hall where Selina decorated and set up everything we needed. They are extremely accommodating and incredibly helpful.

We recently stayed in this hotel and really enjoyed the break. The service, the food, the facilities, the staff and the location were perfect. It's located on the main Derry/Limavady route. Great for public transport and drivers.

I recent stayed at the hotel and from the moment I arrived the staff were so helpful and accommodating. I arrived at 8am into Derry and knew check in wasn't until 3pm, the reception staff really went above expectations and got the first available room ready for us to check in early which allowed us to explore Derry for the rest of the day. The hotel room in general was clean and modern, exactly what you expect. Would highly recommend!

We stayed here just 1 night as we were attending an even in the hotel. We didn't make use of the facilities, aside from the event, but it was a comfortable stay. The only minor gripe was that, the way we came in, we struggled to find the main entrance from the car park so had a bit of a long way round. Might have given a higher score if we'd have had time to see/use more of the hotel.

Second visit to this hotel in the last couple of months. Spa day and afternoon tea package deal. On both occasions the spa was amazing. We both got back, neck and shoulder massage. The women are professional and friendly. Peacful music on in the room, very relaxing. First time here we made use of the swimming pool, sauna and steam room(included in the package deal). Second time due to it being summer holidays it was very busy with classes on. (Which is good to see for the local community) We will definitely return to the spa side of things. The afternoon tea however, I can only assume they let commi chefs make/pepare everything. I've been in the chef industry for nearly 10years and to me the afternoon tea on both occasions was not worth the money. First time there was rice krispies buns! Second time there was two scones and a traybake cut in half. The coronation chicken was what I can only assume last nights specials put into a sandwich. We travel from the other side of Belfast as we both truly love this hotel. Next time think we will have spa treatment and give the lunch/dinners a try. I have heard good reviews on dinner service so third time lucky as they say. I hope the head chef and restaurant manager can come up with better things for the afternoon tea as it is a good deal and lovely hotel. Just a shame it let's everything else feel not worth the money.

From the first meeting with Kimberley when we decided to choose the White Horse Hotel as our wedding venue, we knew we were in safe hands, wasn't a thing that was too much trouble at any stage in the buildup to the wedding or on the actual day the decor was perfect, staff very attentive and willing to please, everyone raved about the wedding meal, catered for some of our vegan guests without any hassle, even up to the residents bar, the night porter was professional and nothing was too much trouble, the Clooney suite was a welcome haven on our big day for us to collect ourselves and freshen up before partying the night away with our guests. Can not recommend the White Horse enough

What can I say the staff just couldn't do enough for us!! My sisters and I took my mum here for a relaxing spa break for her 60th birthday and we just had the best experience ever!! Bell and Laura from the Spa were just so warm and friendly and Angela on reception was a pleasure to deal with! We will definitely come back and would highly recommend!!

the function room set was fab, the staff from reception when we arrived, to function room to bar staff were so welcoming: Kimberley met us and then handed over to the evening duty manager (sorry we didnt get his name) was attentive in the background, nothing a problem. This again is one of the highlights of our fundraising events and the White Horse Hotel has never disappointed

Second time staying in best Western and probably next year too. Staff are extremely helpful and kind, had some car issues arriving so check-in was late and was no problem. Had normal room, shower is over the tub bit hard to use and not great water pressure. And also the fan in bathroom was constantly on and couldnt figure how to turn it off. Drove us mad in the early morning. Couldn't connect to WiFi either and when did the signal was very poor and didn't work. Hotel is bit outdated but its alright to have sleep or two. Once again staff were great!

We had a work function here recently. Kimberly, the events managers was first class - nothing was too much trouble. The hotel was beautiful, the food was first class and everyone was absolutely delighted with how the day went. Thanks you Kimberly!

After ringing at 9 in the morning to book in for 2 spa treatment packages,we were accommodated with all our needs by the lovely Linda no less then 2 hours after. Most relaxing day made to feel at home best massage we both had in a long time. Linda went above and beyond. Food was delicious. We will both be back

My son and his girlfriend attended this hotel on Tuesday 11th and Wednesday 12th of June. He doesn't review on trip advisor but felt he wanted to express his gratitude for what were the best two nights spent at this hotel for his and his girlfriends first time in Derry. They received a bottle of champagne on arrival, they had a four course meal and made use of the spa facilities on site. They had a massage each and wanted to give special thanks to the massage therapist for the excellent massage, both of them slept for 2 hours afterwards! They said their room was spacious and clean and cannot wait to return..and for £280 all in..is there any room for the parents!??? Thanks from Nathan and Nicole

Booked last minute with a good rate (total with tax $75 USD) from Priceline for 1 night. Room is basic but comfortable. It is a little bit outside of Londonderry city center, but if you are headed out onto your next travel destination in the morning then it's not a big deal. If you are planning a few nights then it maybe a hassle. No elevator seen, had to carry our luggage up the stairs but not a big deal. Did not have a chance to explore the hotel further. Ample free parking and nice staff. No breakfast included, unless you pay extra. Would recommend this hotel if you can get a good price.

Friendly staff,clean rooms ,good breakfast and meals,nice location by the beach ,parking free if staying but remember to register your number plate when arriving in reception,good bus services to Brighton cheaper than parking ,

I stayed here for two nights on B&B basis. Breakfast is very good. Dinner is not so. First night soup, curried cauliflower, not bad but a light portion, bread was good. The main was Hake, came with very little accompaniment, no veg, a piece of fennel and a few green leaves. Side order was garlic potatoes which have never seen garlic and were pretty tasteless. Guinness was of course excellent. Second night, Mushroom risotto, extremely poor, no taste, mushrooms were like leather and bunched, looked like a handful of sliced mushrooms had been chucked into the pan and never separated. That meal was rejected and the waiter understood my complaint. Chose Lasagne which wasn't much better, again lacking much taste. There was nothing wrong with my sense of taste at this time, because I could taste the one Guinness I had. INTERNET...Now here is a MAJOR PROBLEM, I complained, I was told they would reboot it and that my room was very near the router! I even moved down to the reception area for the afternoon and found the connection was poor and SO SLOW, never have I experienced such a slow speed. TV in room could only find a signal on BBC1&2, every other channel flagged POOR SIGNAL. Again I complained but no improvements were made. I'm afraid I WILL NOT be returning to this hotel on future visits. My suggestion to travellers staying here would be bring yourself a good reading book. My mobile did work, so I believe the comms fault lies with the Hotel setup. @Hotel— please upgrade your systems and step into the 2019 tech age, it's what people expect these days. I'm very honest with my reviews and praise where due, but I'm afraid you fall below my usual standards and probably many others. My room was clean and quite comfortable. The staff were very friendly.

My boyfriend and I had a spa package. The staff were very friendly and welcoming! We had a relaxing massage and facial. We then got to use the pool and steam room facilities and a 2 course meal which was delicious. I would definitely recommend!

Clean rooms with nice bedding. Rooms were generous in size as were the bathrooms - shower only no tubs. The showers looked brand new so possibly some upgrades had been done here. The restaurant was fine and the food was tasty but we found that the breakfast was expensive. You are better just ordering something off the menu unless you eat a very large breakfast. The bar was cozy with a wide assortment of drinks, TVs and pool tables

Came with family and the little ones loved the pool. Food was really good and everyone was friendly. Everywhere was clean and joy in the restaurant looked after us very well. Was our first time, but will come back.

Nothing great, nothing bad. we were not there all that long, one night from late afternoon. food was good cheer was better. up early and out to the next place on our tour. maybe on the next trip we will have a different opinion

Too remote from Derry, nearer to airport than city.. Taxi service and shops far away on side of dual carriageway. Need to update bar and take away pool table and serve bar food till 9pm. Food at night was yummy but breakfast was poor

Arrived here for a weekend away with the girls. We started off with some treatments at the beauty rooms. My therapist Linda was excellent. She helped me to relax from the very beginning and the treatments left me feeling completely rested. Linda even give me tips on what to eat and drink following my treatments. Check in at the hotel was extremely efficient even though a large wedding party had arrived at the same time. The food and staff in the restaurant were excellent. They listened exactly to what we wanted and made perfect recommendations. Everything was delicious. We enjoyed the food so much that we ordered room service on our second evening. Breakfast was also fantastic, with plenty of options and hot food kept hot. Overall our stay was fantastic and I would highly recommended this hotel for couples, families and girly breaks away.

Thank you to all the staff at the White Horse Hotel for a wonderful evening on Saturday to celebrate my Mum's 90th Birthday. We all have a lovely meal, Staff were very attentive. Would happily organise another event as nothing was too much bother, Thank You again.

The hotel was clean and friendly. The food was good but a greater variety at breakfast would be good. The massage was great. one nice touch was the piano playing at dinner. A car or taxi is essencar tial as there is a long drive in and out of Derry.

Cant even describe the customer care we received. Customer care from restaurant, front of house and behind the scenes staff are the key to excellence which this hotel has in abundance. Not to mention the smiles from a happy team. Just a divine stay.

Checked in on Saturday for the bank holiday weekend, was a lovely room on the ground floor right by the pool and gym, no complaints, just what we needed. Booked dinner that evening for 7pm, decided to go for a swim beforehand, go to shower before dinner to be greeted in the bathroom by a really strong smell of cigarette smoke ( we're non smokers so was extremely potent - smell not present when we checked in) someone was obviously smoking in their room!! partner rang down to reception, 5 mins later the “manager” knocked and instead of knocking on doors to find where the smell was coming from, fobbed it off as “the previous guest” and moved us to another room in the hotel, instead of dealing with the problem at hand. Got into new room, safe wasn't working and the cold tap to the sink didn't work either. Off colour towels in the bathroom too, glad we took our own towels. Went to dinner the sat eve, waiter who took our order was really rude and got part of our order wrong, so we ate out on the Sunday eve instead. Early hours of Sunday morning being woken up by other guests shouting and mouthing off walking past our room. No privacy in the men's or women's changing room for the pool, recommend changing into your swimming gear in your room if you're a woman because the one cubicle that was available was always hogged by someone leaving their stuff in there takin it away from someone who needed the privacy to get changed. Rated it at 2 as the gym facilities were decent and the lady at the desk was very helpful. Definitely won't be back though

Stayed here for 3 nights on a meet up of a group of friends. Rooms were comfortable and clean with added extras of water, biscuits and toiletries. Onky downside was the restaurant sadly. Service was very slow, staff not very friendly and the food was a bit of a disappointment for some members of our group. We had an organised event on the saturday, then a meal on the Saturday night in the hotel which was superb for food and service, so an improvement to our experience the night before

Myself & sister had a wonderful pamper day.....facial, use of pool facilities & afternoon tea. Great value at only £45. Beauty Therapist Laura made our day. Best facials ever & so professional. Afternoon tea was also 1st class. Small negative - v few lockers had a key in changing room/needs some minor repairs. Definitely will return. Thank you

I really enjoyed our stay here. The rooms were very comfortable, the TV had a lot of channels we didn't get at other hotels. The pool is a nice size, and the lobby is very warm and inviting with a fireplace. I recommend getting the breakfast, it is delicious.

Recently attended a 60th family birthday party at the Whitehorse Hotel. The venue was very welcoming as usual, the food was excellent and the attention from the staff was brilliant, all very friendly.

During a two night break we were experiencing difficulties getting to a local restaurant we had booked into. The sales manager coming off duty offered to take us to the restaurant even though it was 10 miles in the opposite direction for that person to get home. One of the hotel directors was on duty on our return and saw to our every need making an evening in Derry end on a real high for my wife and I. We had eaten in the hotel restaurant the night before and the service and food were excellent. Likewise breakfast. The room was really comfortable. I even had a swim in the pool. Thank you all.

Excellent massage with a pleasant spa, following by an amazing afternoon tea. The sandwiches were made exactly as requested and were superb! Scones light and fluffy with extra cream, and a tiramisu pot to finish. Service was excellent, plenty of refills for the teapot.

The hotel isnt below standard but it has the worst internet in any hotel Ive ever stayed in and thats a lot. I asked the reception 3 days in a row to reboot the router but it statey very poor. How can a hotel today have such appalling internet? The restaurant staff were great n very friendly snd the food was good. The hotel is rated a 4 star but id question that! Not bad but defo not 4 star.

I held my daughters christening at the White Horse on mothers day and it couldn't have went better. Nothing was too much for the staff they were all brilliant. All the guests complimented the food, and everybody had a great day. Would definitely recommend.

On arrival, we were welcomed by a lovely gentleman with ginger hair (unsure of his name) he was very polite and helpful. Our room lovely and spacious. The hotel is very nice. The only downside for me was the leisure side is in desperate need of some investment, the spin bikes were old and the pool wasn't great, it looked dirty along the far wall and clearly needed a deep clean also I think it would of been nice to have had a list of times in the information folder in the room about when the children's swimming lessons are on. I must of been unlucky but both times I went for a swim, it wasn't very relaxing with noisy children having a lesson taking up one side of the pool. I understand the need for them, its another way for the hotel to make money but as a guest of the hotel I would of avoided swimming at these times. Overall the hotel is lovely and I would return but hopefully the leisure side would of had some investment by then.

Would recommend this hotel for Afternoon Tea. We have visited several times for Afternoon Tea in the past and it has always been excellent. Staff are very attentive and friendly continually coming to the table to see if everything is ok. It is great value for money, all the party were Mums and we had a lovely afternoon. We will definitely be back,

the function room was beautifully laid out and was comfortably heated. The meal was very very tasty and again really well served. Staff were very courteous. and helpful. i can not recommend this Hotel enough.

Perfect facilty for large meetings. 300 attended and management and staff had all arrangements made to our satisfaction. Also turned the room around for a 150 person dinner in approx. one hour! Food was exceptional and copious. The staff were superb in all they did and I could not recommend it enough.

We stay here one night every year for our wedding anniversary for the past 4 years we have stayed in most of the hotels in Derry this is the best by far, the staff are so warm and welcoming the restaurant is very .good rooms are spotless and very comfortable.

We had a delightful evening in the White Horse Hotel. We had dinner in the restaurant before going into the city. It was outstanding and the service was excellent. The staff throughout the hotel were helpful and attentive. My only issue was no shower gel and shampoo in the changing area at the pool.

Me, my wife and daughter stayed here as a celebration for my 60th birthday. We had stayed here many years ago. Whilst the outside of the hotel does not do it any justice, the inside is so different. Staff are so friendly and go out of your way to make your stay special and provide you with whatever you need. Rooms are very comfortable with all you need. The hotel has a wonderful restaurant with excellent food, the menu is varied and delicious. The hotel also has a swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. They also offer spa treatments. There is a lovely open fir in the reception area which really makes the place homely. Overall we had a brilliant two nights and would certainly return again.

I could not recommend this hotel enough. My family and I celebrated my daughter's Confirmation on Saturday with an amazing meal in the restaurant at the Best Western White Horse Hotel. From the start of the process with booking with Kimberly, right through to our leaving on Saturday, all the staff were so helpful and accommodating. The food was absolutely delicious and plentiful, and the service was outstanding. It was one of the best meals we have enjoyed and was topped off by exceptional service. I can honestly say we most certainly will be back.

We had 30 guest for my sons confirmation some of the guest arrived early and were able to get tea and coffee served to them at the reception. Kimberly has been very helpful throughout our booking and on the day making sure all the guest had been seen to. The meal was fantastic with no delays in the starters coming out, one of the best carvery lunches we have has and very reasonable priced. All our guest have commended on our facebook saying what a lovely day it was and how relaxed everyone was. Thanks again to the white horse staff and the lovely Kimberly. We would highly recommend this hotel for all their services.

I had an enjoyable nights stay at the White Horse, well priced and rooms comfortable. Pool a bit cold and needs signs on changing rooms, as I walked into the mens by mistake. Restaurant is fantastic and bar prices very good

I used the White Horse for a family function, as well as an overnight stay. Kimberly from events was very helpful and supportive in planning the family event, and Ramona was very supportive on the evening of the party. Everything was great; from the food and decor of the function room to the smooth running of the night. Thanks ladies! My only slight negative was the replenishment of the buffet breakfast in the morning could be quicker.

We held our Club event in the White Horse on Sunday 24th February. The staff in the hotel are so easy to deal with especially Kimberly and Ramona. They are an asset to the hotel and both are so friendly and more than helpful with any questions I had, nothing was any trouble. We had quite a few members who travelled to our event from out of the city and they all loved the hotel it had plenty of parking and easy accessibility. The Sunday lunch is excellent very generous portions and very tasty and good value for money.

I was in restaurant in white horse, and there was a lady with ginger hair called ramona working. The way she spoke to her staff was shocking. We couldn'tbelieve it. Im not sure what her job title is but this lady would need some extra training on how to speak to staff

Held our February Trefoil Guild meeting in the Campsey Room. Liaised with Kimberly who organised the setting up of the room efficiently. The IT guy checked that the Power Point equipment was working for our guest speakers and remained on hand in case of any problems (there were none). Tea and coffee welcomed members on arrival and gluten-free biscuit options offered. Several members stayed on for a welcome soup and wheaten bread lunch afterwards where once again Margaret and colleague waited on us attentively. Thank you once again Kimberly and team!

Stayed here for 3 nights just before christmas to visit family and felt ery welcomed to this hotel. A very nice hotel. 2 Adults and 2 children we had adjoining rooms which was just great and a bit of extra room. Breakfast was lovely and plenty of choice. Stayed for two dinners and they too were ery nice and good quality and overall the restauant staff were very good, helpfula and friendly. We were also able to use the hotel leisure pool which was very good. Didn't get a chance to use the gym but its facilities did look good. I would definitely stay here again. The hotel is located on the outskirts of the town but going into the city took about 10 mins by car, very straightforward. Equally could travel in opposite direction to Limavady and roads in either direction are good and traffic moves quickly.

Lovely hotel, I didn't use the spa facilities so I can't comment. The service was great, the front desk and restaurant staff were faultless. Only issue was there was one home made biscuits In a 2 man room! It is a little out of Derry.., taxi ride but we were at a function in the hotel so not an issue. Bar prices were ok, restaurant food was lovely

Thank you to Kimberley and her events team for organising a great night. We were holding an anniversary dinner for the Londonderry Musical Society and Britannia Concert Band to celebrate 30 years of our charity Showstoppers concerts. The venue function room was ideal and gave enough space for dining tables and a dance floor without the upheaval of moving tables. Our meal was lovely and all dietary requirements were catered for with no fuss. The hotel staff was very welcoming and helpful and we would definitely use this venue again. Thanks again.

Stayed in this hotel for 4 nights on business. The rooms are spacious and warm. Food is good, a wide selection on the menu. The only thing that lets the hotel down is the dreadful WiFi. Especially in the rooms the connection is very week and keeps dropping off. In this day and age with everyone connected all the time, need to do something about this.

Would like to thank the staff at the White horse Hotel for an amazing evening myself and about 20 other ladies had a meal here on Tuesday 29th January. The service was first class the food was amazing. I highly recommend going here

We had the most positive experience @ The White Horse Hotel this year for our annual Rabbie Burns celebrations. The large function room held the almost 300 persons comfortably with the tables strategically placed so the audience could see the performance area without any restrictions. The amenities were excellent as we had an ample changing area adjacent to the main function area plus with a very sufficient bar staff tending the tables this cut down on the numbers of people having to leave their seats. Food and service was of a high standard with the staff going beyond the call of duty when needed, ie it was not a hassle for the night porter to meet any of our requests at a late hour for the guests staying. He was excellent. Quite a few stayed overnight and the bedrooms were excellent with the breakfast like the meal the night before was of a very high standard. Having the leisure facilities is a major plus for this hotel something not a lot of other hotels have in this area.

Although the White Horse Hotel is a little out of town it is easily accessible and has great parking facilities. The food is excellent, good value for money and there is a daily carvery lunch available in a very comfortable dining room. It has good conference facilities, a spa, ground floor bedrooms and a lovely reception area were visitors can sit, chat and have tea. It also has a place in history as a coaching inn and was described by the novelist, Thackery, in his book on his travels in Ireland.

We stayed here whilst on a tour. The room was spacious and clean. Food ok. They forgot about our vegetarian meals at dinner and we did not get served until everyone else at our table was through with dessert. We reminded multiple people many times. They were very apologetic. The rest of our stay was uneventful. Cute hotel.

From the moment that we checked in to checking out the staff could not do enough for you, we had a problem with the safe and within 2 minutes it was fixedWe ate in the restaurant both evenings and the food was fabulous as we were on a deal the second night was part of the deal two course dinner and a class of wine each the meal came out piping hot and delicious breakfast was self service and plenty of it .Rooom was clean and fresh towels next day we just can not complain about any part of our weekend. Was looking to hold a two day conference, with the non-Derry team staying at a local Derry hotel. The Best Western was perfect, customer service was second to none, all extremely helpful and went the extra mile...thank you Kimberly & Team My room for 3 nights was large, very clean and for the price, exceptional value. My team and I found the buffet lunch excellent! Breakfast was again very good.., and I feel obligated to again mention what great value Won't hesitate it using the Best Western/White Horse Hotel again...highly recommend

We booked the hotel to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We read some of the reviews and had mixed feelings however we were pleasantly surprised. Hotel is a bit run down and could do with refurb but it is clean, warm and overall comfy. Our package came with 2 night breakfast, 4 course meal, 30min Spa treatment, £25 shopping voucher, 2 drinks vouchers. On top of that we got comp upgrade to a large room and a bottle of wine on arrival. The room was warm and we could control the heating via termostat which was really handy. The bed was massive and comfy apart from really hard pillows - next time we will bring our own :). The staff is professional and friendly. Breakfast and dinner were really yummy. Hotel was quiet which made our stay even more enjoyable. We relaxed on the couches next to the fire place and listened to lovely xmas music. Overall we had really enjoyable stay. Hotel is close to a dual carriage way which is perfect for commutting either to Derry City or to Giants Causeway. We will stay again if we are heading that way.

This weekend a friend of mine held his civil partnership celebration at the White Horse Hotel. From start to finish the staff, led by the fantastic Kimberly, were attentive, well organised and completely dedicated to making this the best event it could be! The venue was beautiful, the food delicious (Kimberly even proactively offered alternatives for the youngest guests and checked in regularly to make sure everything was ok and if there was anything else that could be done) and you really got the sense that they cared about making your experience there as good as it could be! I cannot recommend them enough! I did not stay on site, but those who did also had nothing but good things to say, and it was less than £10 to get there from Derry centre by taxi. Thank you again to the whole team at the White Horse for a truly memorable weekend!

From our initial contact with the White Horse Hotel (booked and organised remotely), we knew that our celebration of our civil partnership would be extremely well catered for. In the days leading up to our big day we met Kimberley who warmly greeted us like family and made us feel welcome. She is an asset to the hotel and I can't say enough how much she made us feel confident that we were in good hands. She even accommodated a lot of last minute requests literally sometimes with moments advance notice. The food was perfect (in portion size and taste). The function room decoration was perfect. The whole staff team were friendly, polite, and super accommodating (pardon the pun). Our room was perfect, the bed was very comfortable and we had a peaceful sleep after a busy day. Drinks were reasonable and a wide selection was available. The grounds are idyllic and location of the hotel while not central to Derry, is easily accessible and as taxi cost to the town centre is less than £10, it's still worth staying here. I would recommend highly for any occasion after seeing how they catered for us. I can't thank you all enough.

Had a family function here at the end of December and the experience was fantastic. The excellent customer service from Kimberly the event planner was outstanding from start to finish, she couldn't do enough and nothing was a problem. On the night the function room was beautifully decorated and the food absolutely delicious, especially the salmon! All the staff and facilities in my opinion was 5 star and we will be frequenting this hotel again and again. Thank you White Horse Hotel!

We held our 50th wedding anniversary on 28th December in white Horse Hotel in Derry It was a wonderful experience. The meal was terrific,hot and served by excellent staff. The staff were helpful and courteous. The accomadtion was warm and very comfortable. We would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a great celebration or a comfortable relaxed holiday. Myself and my partner stayed at the Best Western Plus, White Horse Hotel. We have a one year old son and this was our first night away since he was born & traveled an hour and a half from Belfast for our stay. We wish we had of stayed at home. We checked into the hotel at 3pm and let ourselves into our room on the Ground Floor, room 108. First impressions were how cold the room was, it took several hours for the radiators to heat up. We made a dinner reservation in the restaurant for 8pm, the starters & mains we both had were cold, dry and tasteless. This turned out to be the best part of our night as it only went further downhill from there. At around 2am there were a number of people gathered outside our room/corridor, shouting and screaming all over the place, it made sleeping near impossible (I believe they were staying in the rooms next door to ourselves and a few adjacent rooms. This carried on for several hours until they managed to set off the smoke alarm and which point I went out into the hall and they ran into a number of rooms. Around an hour or so later, the smoke alarm went off again, this time a member of staff knocked on one of the rooms and spoke to someone stating they had woke up half the hotel! In total, this carried on from around 2-6:30am, it felt like stayed in an 18-30s hotel rather than a 4* Hotel. Our plan the next morning was to initially take advantage of the swimming facilities, but both just wanted to get home after our horrendous night. My partner then went to have a shower in the bathroom only for cold water to be continuously flowing. We spoke to the receptionist Ryan on the way out who was apologetic and understanding though unfortunately could not do anything for us at the time. ***Since our stay the Hotel staff have been in contact with ourselves and helped to resolve a few of our issues, so I must commend them on that***

Enjoyed overnight stay for friends 50th Wedding anniversary. Staff friendly and helpful and service excellent. Food good, would recommendand and stay there again. Seems to well used as was fully booked. Didnt use lesure centre but it looked clean and again well used.

Booked the mum and me package which included dinner, breakfast, afternoon tea, night stay and a spa treatment. The best food I have ever had at a hotel. Staff couldn't have been more accommodating, allowing us to keep our room until 3pm to allow for our spa treatments. Feel like I am floating on air after a massage and facial. Quiet location, very clean and comfortable. Can not recommend enough!

Absolutely terrible service , had a party of 24 persons for dinner 2hrs later we had to leave as starters still weren't ready, got told after 1hr that food was on its way out , we had 8 children under 6 in the party

Had our family Christmas night out at the white horse last Saturday night for the second year in a row and will definitely be back again next year. The food was amazing and the band was fantastic. Could not fault a thing. Staff were very accomodating and gave us a good laugh throughout the night. I would highly recommend the white horse. We fortunately don't have to wait another year to be back as our staff Christmas night out is tonight again at the Whitehorse. Thanks to all the staff for making our Christmas night out so enjoyable I'm looking forward to another good night's entertainment

We had an event for 100 people here last week. The parking was excellent, the staff were exceptional and the room was decorated beautifully. The food was piping hot and very tasty. Every member of staff I dealt with (mainly Kimberly) were professional and friendly and did everything they could to ensure our event was a success.

We organised a Christmas lunch event for 90 people. The room and tables very festive. The food was amazing, generous helpings, tasty and hot. Staff extremely helpful and kind. Food was served quickly.

Mould on the ceiling, broken appliances in bedroom, rude waiting staff, bored receptionist (perhaps if she had bothered to answer the phone when guests call from their rooms, it might have alleviated her boredom somewhat). Paper thin walls (the couple next door had a busy night). Try explaining that one to the kids. The appliances were not fixed as promised, nor was a move to a functioning room offered. The icing on the cake was "lying" in the bath (sorry, I meant folded up double in the half width, half length bath. No wonder I woke up with a painful neck the next day. Actually now that I come to think of it, that might have had something to do with the uneven level of the bed instead). Sorry I digress, "lying" in the bath, looking up at the ceiling, admiring the damp patches and mould. Lovely. Just what the doctor ordered. Oh yeah, I nearly forgot. Tell the missus and kids not to bother washing their hair. There was no conditioner in their wonderful array of hygiene products and a beautifully professional tut and eye roll when my dear wife made enquiries about same. Won't be hurrying back any time soon.

I took my wife to the White horse Hotel last weekend. There was good and not so good on the trip. It was a birthday treat to myself and the hotel gave me a lovely gesture with a plate saying happy birthday with a few tray bakes on it. It was a lovely touch and definately not expected. I had mentioned when booking that it was a birthday treat but didn't expect them to pick up on it so we'll. I really appreciated the welcome. The room was ok.. we both found it quite cold and asked for additional heat which was supplied and again appreciated tho I don't think it should have been necessary to do so. The food was ok. Nothing exceptional but just ok.. we both found the hotel to be cold. Whether in the bedroom , foyer and also the pool. It was particularly cold. There is no way you could have brought a very young child or baby into either the main pool or the kids pool. It was very cold!! This advertises as a 4 star hotel. I travel a lot on business staying in hotels across Ireland. This is a 3 Star hotel at best. Now having said all that the best part of the hotel is the staff. They were friendly , helpfull and certainly made the weekend an enjoyable experience. Would I go back?? Because of the staff, yes.

I'm a regular at the White Horse's restaurant and always go back for the great food and service. The new menu is great - my wife and I tried the lamb - perfectly cooked - and the mushroom risotto was full of flavour. The chocolate fondant oozed over the plate - delicious as ever. We'll be back again before Christmas!

Friendly team. Had a good meal plenty of choice on the menu which was good. Room clean and comfortable. Pool looks nice but no time to use this time. WiFi could be better but I would return as it's a good price for what you get.

Food was awful and room was freezing. Would never go back again spent most of my time in another hotel in Derry was far better. Just wish this hotel was better not worth the money .ask for steak medium well came out rare nearly boked everywhere.

I have run an event here for the last few years and the staff, service and food cannot be faulted. The rooms are very comfortable and everything is accessible. The events staff have the best attitude and nothing is an issue. Highly recommend.

This hotel is not good! The staff are very nice and the food was good. That's where it ends. The rooms are old and cramped. The bathrooms were dated with cracked tiles and dirty looking grouting. One of the bathrooms smelled very badly of drains on the morning we were leaving. The pool was really cold. Changing rooms were not clean. Mouldy shower curtains and dirty floors. Swimming pool was cold, jacuzzi was just bubbles in one area of the cold pool. Steam room was tiny. Windows were filthy. The staff were genuinely nice but it wasn't enough to save the terrible hotel. Major investment is required to make this anyway decent.

Arrived Friday evening around 9pm. Check in easy. Polite informed staff. Room was massive. Complete with safe, robes, slippers, large tv etc etc. Went for couples massage on Saturday, as had booked a couple of weeks earlier as was wife's birthday. Have been to quite a few hotels with spa / massages in past. By far the best yet !! Huge thanks to Chloe and Martina. So sensual yet so professional. Spent rest of weekend wining and dining plus dip in large pool. Definitely will be back. Especially for massages !!!! Outstanding ladies. Thankyou again.

Recently held my 60th birthday party at the White Horse Hotel and it was fantastic. We had a sit down meal - great food and excellent service. All the staff were exceptional Kimberley, John and the reception and waiting staff. Many of our guests (including my husband and I) stayed over - the bedrooms are lovely, comfortable beds and great breakfast. The staff here really couldn't do enough. I would highly recommend.

Stayed here last night and hotel was alright room was good size as it was a family room we had. We got a meal in the restaurant which could not fault and Pool was good only fault was breakfast wasn't great selection of cereals bread etc . Hot food selection wasn't great and didn't look great Potato bread looked like was done in deep fat fryer and black pudding didn't look great and no beans etc either.

Brilliant time had by all. Rooms lovely,clean and spacious,staff helpful. the swimming pool was a great size. The food in the restaurant was amazing as was the massage. Live music in the bar was excellent.

Just back from a "couples night away" at BW White Horse near Londonderry. Really nice hotel only about 10 minutes from Londonderry. We were upgraded to a suite which was amazing. Dinner was very good and the deal included getting breakfast delivered as room service - very nice. The leisure centre is good although could do with a relaxation area for people using steam room and sauna and getting massages. One the of the best things, though, was how helpful everyone was there. Nothing was too much trouble, especially sorting food out for my wife who is lactose intolerant. Often a lot of places take a very "subtractive" approach to catering for people with allergies/intolerances, simply removing the menu option or ingredient until what's left is a poor selection of very bland food. This was not the case at the White Horse - the restaurant staff were really helpful in putting together food choices that my wife could eat and enjoy. Thank you.

There was a large group of us and the Hotel and the staff had us checked it very quickly Our room was on the first floor and the stairs were no problem room was lovely and very clean large comfortable bed breakfast and evening meal was first class. The staff were very friendly nothing was a problem. Would certainly go back

Decided to have a family trip to Derry for Halloween half term and we are delighted that we chose the White Horse. Nice big family room and good pool to entertain everyone. It's a drive to the centre but worth it as hotel service is great. My children were being very picky about their ice cream at dinner, and the lovely dark haired waitress went above and beyond to get them the flavours, sauces and toppings to make them happy. As a mum of 3 I try very hard to keep them orderly and polite but sometimes it's hard to avoid the tantrums...the patience and kindness of the staff stopped the tantrum in its tracks and allowed us to relax and enjoy dinner before heading into the town.

Couldn't have asked for a better service. Nothing was too much bother. Kimberly and her team catered for our every need for our wedding and then some. The function room was beautiful and the honeymoon suite was great. All in all, great service.

On arrival quick an easy check in,, then we're pointed to stairs ,,no lift ,,room was so small and the bathroom smallest I've seen. everything was a struggle,, when we come back from an evening out, I had the keycard in my hand to open the room door, we were amazed and frightened to see our door was already unlocked.when I went back outside the room door to check it ,I was somewhat confused why 2 workmen walked past me on the corridor at such a late hour,, did speak to receptionist,I paid a lot for what we got won't be going back ,, go somewhere else

From the time we arrived until we left we found the staff so helpful, the food excellent. My steak was exactly how I had requested it. Gluten free not a problem. One drawback, poor internet. People with personality. Keep it up.

From the moment we arrived we were made most welcome and the staff really made ourselves and our many guests feel very much at home. Congratulation to the Chef and those who served the food, it was of the highest standard, most welcome and we had a lot of very good reports from our guests. Once again the hotel management were very accommodating and I cannot recommend this establishment enough.

Touring theatre company of 14 stayed here for 2 nights and would definitely return after a very pleasant time. It's a little out of town - you need a car - but it's a very comfortable hotel, with very good leisure facilities & pool. Staff were terrific: friendly and helpful. Really good value and excellent stay over for those touring the North Coast. Impressive restaurant with a great menu and friendly, efficient service. Can thoroughly recommend it.

We were staying with friends just outside Derry and they recommended The White Horse for a meal. We had dinner on a Sunday evening and were pleasantly surprised to find the restaurant busier than expected but well staffed and managed. We had 3 courses, all of which were well cooked, well presented and tasted lovely. The waiting staff were attentive, helpful and cheerful without being intrusive, all the food arrived in a timely manner and we were not rushed. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meals and we thought it was good value for money. The dining room and tables were clean and comfortable, the lobby looked clean and well presented; cannot speak to the rest of the hotel or facilities as only had dinner. I would very happily return for another meal and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

I recently staid in room 130 Lovely room but unfortunately in a real need off repairs half the lights no bulbs in them toilet broken wouldn flush shower not working. All essentials in hotel stadards. As for the set evening meal off roast beef please take chainsaw with u to cut it iff going. Also missing several items which were ordered and charged for. Wen approaching reception to complain and eventually management ended up never speaking to 2 more an arrogant bunch . I am reporting them to hotel fair standard's simply anyone cant be expected to pay that sort off money for such a terrible standard.

For the price, it was perfect. Very quiet when I stayed, staff were very pleasant and friendly. Rooms nice and clean if a little dated, very comfortable however, no complaints. Free parking, great access to the motorways etc. Dinner was nice, big portions. Breakfast was a bit of a disappointment, but this is a personal gripe. It was very dry, not the cooking but the lack of any beans etc and I don't eat eggs. £10 for sausage bacon and a potato scone a bit of a let down. All the other usual breakfast buffet type options were available so I ended up having fruit and yoghurt. Great pint of Guinness too!

We stayed one night at the White Horse and it was great. The restaurant dinner was fantastic. The roast beef was so tender and so much food. The room was warm and inviting. We will definitely stay here again. Free parking is a major plus!

My husband & I stayed for a few nights in September, we were welcomed as we arrived, given relevant info & directed to our rooms which were lovely & clean 7 the bed was comfortable. Food was excellent & the staff was friendly, especially MARTA who interacted with us & made us feel very special, as she did with others, She is a bubbly & wonderful person & is an asset to the hotel Thank you all

Nicely located hotel on the outskirts of Derry. Rooms getting on the tired side, bath is only 3/4 size with shower above. Wi-fi reported to be available but so poor that it wasn't worth using. It regularly disconnected which was very irritating. Manager reported it should be 2Mg we found 0.5Mg to 0.2 this needs to be addressed. Good check-in. Reasonable sized room (asked for door locks to be unlocked to enable me to use a lovely balcony overlooking a lovely small park on the Embankment; desk manager never even replied). Room service prompt (however, Indian dish was very poor, particularly for London). Very convenient to Embankment Place. Part of group that also owns the Grosvenor Hotal. Price could be better (Corinthia, even closer to Embankment Place has better deals, more facilities and larger rooms). Somehow, for the Horse Guards theme the artwork and sense of the place is “off”; they could do much better and be a very special destination (e.g. more equestrian, Royal Horseguards photographs and items on walls and discreet displays; the building is the old U.K. Sectret Servoce building so they could also add some things as a reference to that - it's like someone from Singapore commissioner a boutique hotel and never went there to match the presence with the theme/name to make it unique). Very nice bar and excellent bar man and woman. Garden seating area looks really nice but closes too early - couldn't even use it - it should be kept open late for guests (i.e. allow later access through the hotel). I'll try it once more to see how the property evolves and if it doesn't change I'd do the Corinthia.

The prices are very reasonable here. Great accommodation and great food. They are very helpful here to give directions and whatever else you need. The rooms are very clean and parking is free. They offer everything you need away from home.

Had to book in last minute due to a family bereavement and our experience from start to end was excellent. From the sensitivity of the staff sympathising with us to the well presented really clean rooms we had a very comfortable stay. Breakfast was excellent too. Highly recommend you consider this hotel for any accommodation needs in the North West :)

Northern Ireland Ploughing Association took over the hotel at the weekend from Thursday to Sunday morning, for our annual International Ploughing match. We had visitors from ROI, England, Scotland and Wales and we were treated brilliantly. Every guest enjoyed their experience. I cannot thank the hotel staff enough, they went the extra mile for us. I also used the leisure facilities at the hotel and this was lovely to have this added luxury. The room for the gala dinner was decorated beautifully and the food throughout the weekend was excellent.

What an absolutely fantastic wedding venue!! From the minute we decided on this venue Kim our wedding coordinator could not do enough for us. No job was to big or small to make our day truly amazing. She was so kind, upbeat and super enthusiastic. The venue itself was just perfect, the food, the staff and the decor was mind blowing. I find it so difficult to find any flaw at all. I was happy with just everything. The room itself was so beautiful and decorated to perfection fitting my husband and I with our families splendidly with plenty room to spare for guest attending later. Everything was served in a timely manner and staff waited on everyone hand and foot with a huge smile. The bedrooms then... my goodness spacious comfortable and very well kept. In the morning at breakfast we were presented with champagne such a lovely touch to end such a perfect wedding. I would highly recommend the white horse as a venue not only for its beauty but for its staff who are a credit to themselves and the business and for the amazing tasting food. First anniversary we will be back without a doubt xxx

First time ever at this wonderful hotel just outside Derry and if I could give it 10 stars I would. I travelled with a group and usually the food for such numbers is average at best but here the quality and quantity was outstanding and the staff were unbelievably friendly and superbly attentive. The lamb shank us to die for. The rooms are excellent and the attention to detail in then and the bathroom is worthy of a 5 star hotel. Lots of parking and a short drive into the city. Few places are perfect but this place comes very close indeed. I said the staff were friendly, without exception, and I can't remember them all but barman Ryan and waitress Maria deserve special mention. If you are in this area there is no better place to stay.

Great friendly local staff. Nothing was too much trouble. My wife and I found the bedding to be a little too firm especially the pillows. 1st night we didn't sleep that well. But that didn't spoil our stay it just would have maybe made it more enjoyable. Pool was fine Jacuzzi rubbish steam room small but adiquit. Food was great. Would definitely return.

My wedding experience with white horse hotel was AMAZING. from the day we booked our package to our wedding day nothing was of any bother everything was organised so well and we were put in contact with all our suppliers which really does help with organising as i feel its takes the stress off you.everything went so smooth on the run up to and the actual day. We were really made to feel at ease and can honestly say i didnt feel one bit of stress. Kimberly our wedding coordinator could not of done a better job. Such a lovely woman with an amazing personality really made us feel so special and at ease constantly attending to us and nothing was any trouble. Its nice when all your guests recognise how good your wedding coordinator is. The whole day was just brilliant from the food to the service no hiccups the whole day. Amazing days thanks to the white horse hotel.

Thoroughly enjoyed evening meal . Plenty to select from a varied menu - locally sourced fresh food well presented . Service too was very good .Staff were very polite and friendly. Overall great value and well worth another visit very soon

Upon our arrival, we noticed that the bed sheets were stained and had to change them. The bedroom doesn't have AC or ventilation, only a window which can't be let open because the room can be climbed in. The bedroom's (220) was adjacent to the hotel's bar which held a party with lots music until 11:30pm on a weekday. The staff was dismissive and cared very little about the inconvenience it was causing. While big enough, the room had no refrigerator. The bathroom: found a small shampoo bottle opener in the shower. The bath's drain was half-clogged resulting in a foot bath after 2 minutes of showering. The glass wall from the shower was not really tight on the bath causing a small flood near the toilet. I also specifically requested that the room not be done in my absence, but when i came back, it had been. Pillows aren't comfortable and sheets aren't soft. The hotel and rooms are also quite dated - it has likely been over a decade since any updates were made. The only reason this hotel has this many stars is because it has a pool, a gym and a restaurant.

This hotel WAS a good hotel by the standards of twenty years ago. The hotel is dated and in need of a refurbishment. The rooms are of good size, but you are quite far from the city. This hotel has the WORST WiFi I ever encountered.

Everything quite comfortable. A bit of a drive into the city but at least I had plenty of parking at the hotel. Restaurant was pretty good first night and morning breakfasts were also. Towels were big!

Stayed here for 1 night for work. Cheap price and well worth the money. Hotel is near the airport but well outside of Derry City . Decent food in bar, excellent gym and pool. Possibly the worst wifi (was free though) i have encountered on my many hotel trips ever. I gave up in the end and used my phone instead. Rooms fine but the usual wafer thin walls and doors. Fine hotel for a stop over. Free car park too.

Couldn't have asked for anything better for or wedding. The staff were brilliant and the whole day ran smooth from start to finish. A special thanks goes to Kimberly who was fantastic. The food was excellent and the new bridal sweet was fantastic.

We enjoyed a delicious evening meal here, all 5 of us thoroughly enjoyed all of the courses. I was particularly impressed that when I asked the manager, she knew exactly where all the meat was sourced from and how it was reared- locally sourced and ethically produced. This was great to see.

For the 3rd consecutive year I have held a small conference at The White Horse. Delegates attend from Northern Ireland and Scotland and everyone is always very impressed. The staff are brilliant from the planning stages through to the delivery. The hotel is clean and well cared for with comfortable bedrooms and an excellent restaurant. Thank you to everyone there...we have already booked for next year.

Visited the hotel to use a voucher I got for Christmas, took one of the spa packages which included a light lunch. The lunch was booked for 12.30, we arrived on time and all seemed well. Our orders were taken at around 12.50, and we didn't see our food until 13.20!! We ate our mea quickly as we had treatments booked for 14.00, and the server was aware of this, table was cleared and dessert was ordered at 13.30 but it never arrived. We were told 3 times that it will be out “shortly” but at 13.50 we had to go as we didn't want to be late for our treatments. The food that we did receive was quite nice, it's a basic menu so really no need for the rediculously slow service, the table beside us asked for a cheese sauce to go with her gammon (which is served with peas and a slice of pineapple, no sauce) she waited over 20minutes and everyone else at the table had finished their meals before she eventually got the sauce, the server did apologise for the delay and said it had to be made up (20minutes to make a cheese sauce?!?) The “spa” itself is non existent, it's just two spare rooms with treatment tables in them, one room is the little cubbyhole underneath the stairs. The changing facilities is very poor for something that describes itself as a spa, it is just your basic swimming pool changing area, admittedly though there is curtains on the shower cubicles. The treatments received were of a good standard but were let down by the surroundings, and the fact I still have a large red mark on my back from the hot stone. The two ladies doing the treatments were great, very normal and down to earth, easy to speak to and very welcoming. Only visited here to use up a vouncher and wouldn't return or recommend.

Went here with my son and partner, on arrival it was fine, the receptionist was helpful and friendly, our room was on the groundfloor, family room which was a good size, we went to the pool which my son was looking forward to, it was absolutely freezing, too cold to stay in too long, the changing room facilities were very basic and not great, the girl on the reception at the pool wasnt very nice either, rude and unhelpful, we went to the restaurant for dinner and drinks later in the hotel, the service was terrible, we had to ask for our drinks several times and the food wasnt great especially for the price, i had duck, which i was asked how i wanted it cooked, never in my life have i ever been asked how i want my duck cooked, and i eat out every week, i said medium so it was pink, the duck was raw in the middle, my partner had monkfish with noodles, 4 little pieces of so called monkfish with the skin on, the food was extremely disappointing so were the cocktails, the next morning we went for breakfast and again the service was bad, one guy on who seemed to be doing everything himself, eventually a woman appeared, we had to ask for everything, teaspoons, orange juice, more potato bread, more crossiants, we were down after 9am so there was no excuse why things were not replenished and again what we had wasnt very nice anyway, disappointing break, if i was the Manager of the hotel, i would make alot of changes to make it the hotel it could be, if im back in Londonderry i will definitely try somewhere else

Stayed at this hotel was every bit as good as last year staff very helpful will be back again looking at maybe coming over possibly early in 2019 for a week end break with my wife as I think she would like it

We booked a carvery at the White Horse on our way home from Londonderry. Our meal its self was exceptional and as there was 55 of us the service we received was excellent. I myself have stayed there on 2 occasions in the past and always found the staff helpful and pleasant. On the journey home I asked some of the others on the bus who had never been there before what they thought of the meal and the response was very positive. A big thank you to all the staff concerned.

Stayed for 2 nights and we where treated like kings. Big lobby to have a coffee and read the paper after a morning site seeing, comfy rooms and friendly team. Bathroom modern and very clean. Ate in the bar one night and thought the food was tastey. All in all a modern friendly place to stay.

We stopped off here for the carvery dinner on a busy Saturday, had confirmed 22 of us but ended up 26. Some of the kids opted for sausage and chips which wasn't a problem. Have to say the food was gorgeous and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it! Service was top notch too. From I made the booking with Kimberley, nothing was any trouble and was more than pleasant to deal with. On the day the manageress looked after us really well ensuring we all enjoyed are food. We stop here regular as a group and have done for some 20 years so that says it all! I highly recommend you call in if you're passing!

Stayed here for 2 nights. The hotel has a worn out feel to it. Room and shower had a musty smell to them. Breakfast was poor. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Loads of free parking. Stay was alright at best.

The hotel was amazing, lovely food, helpful staff, amazing facilities and great rooms, the only thing to let us down was unfortunately a big issue! House cleaning staff left both windows open all day in a ground floor hotel room next to a busy road!? My belongings in my room should be safe! Not left out for anyone like that! It really felt this was done thoughtlessly but none the less really put us on edge! Overall great place but make sure to ask to have your windows kept closed!

We booked this hotel to visit the Giant's Causeway. The hotel is quite old and worn out. The carpet is dirty and very very old. The room size is ok. We had the room at the second floor and had heavy bags but there is no elevator and the reception did not ask if we needed help. The room and bathroom heater did not work and the bathtub is so wore out to be slippetry. The rubber surface they place in it is dirty so you better off paying attention not to slip.

We had a wedding reception at the White Horse Hotel and received excellent, attentive service from our very first visit to the hotel. Kimberly was warm and friendly and keen to ensure everything was just as we wanted it. Our queries were answered so promptly and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. The food was excellent and all staff were approachable and helpful. The room we stayed in was wonderful and so was the breakfast the next day. Thank you to everyone there. We can't recommend the White Horse Hotel highly enough!

I recently booked the hotel for a networking event and was impressed by the professionalism and attentiveness of the staff especially Kimberley who went over and beyond expectations. The hotel is clean and modern with fantastic conferencing facilities and all our guests enjoyed the event. The food was plentiful and great value for money I would certainly recommend, and return for a future event

We stayed here at the beginning of the month & thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Everyone & everything was as expected. Good room, good quality food & great staff. Plenty of places to park. I would definitely recommend the hotel.

I attended a business meeting at the White Horse Hotel last month and was very impressed by the professionalism and attentiveness of all staff. The food and service was exceptional. On the night we had several dietary requests which, although had not been brought to the attention of the hotel beforehand, the staff dealt with the timely and efficiently. I would definitely chose this hotel for future meetings,thank you and well done Kimberly to you and all the staff!

Overall, our stay here was fine. The hotel was clean and comfortable and, for the first night of our two nights, very quiet. However, for the second night, the loud music from an event in their banquet room kept us awake past 1 am. The hotel is small enough that the majority, if not all, of the rooms would not have been far enough away to escape the noise. Before you book this hotel as a place for you to sleep and gain rest from a travel day, ask if their banquet room has been reserved for such a festive party.

8 of us stayed at The White Horse over a weekend for my friends Hen Weekend. I honestly cannot fault this hotel. The rooms were so comfortable, with access to all we needed. The blackout curtains were a big plus! We had a cocktail class in the hotel, in our own private room, the craic was lethal, and such a good way of everybody gelling. We ate in the restaurant, fantastic food and service. We all piled into the bar for the rest of the night, again great craic. I know a few of our group availed of the pool and Jacuzzi on the last morning and loved it. Nothing was too much trouble for staff here, including bringing extra sugar to the room this morning along with a jug of fresh milk as we aren't fussed on the longlife stuff. I am so glad I chose this hotel for our weekend, it was perfect.

Stayed here recently with my husband and toddler and we really enjoyed our stay. We had requested a cot in the room which was there on arrival, and there was plenty of space, even had a couch. Located outside of the city centre but that is not bother us as we were staying in the hotel for the evening anyway. We did order room service, soup, and it was only average unfortunately. We did not avail of the breakfast in the hotel so can't comment on that. What definitely recommend due to space in the rooms.

Just finishing up a 2 night break at this great wee hotel. Once again we've had a brilliant weekend and been well looked after. Enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi on both days. Had a fantastic meal in the 68 Clooney on the Friday evening (Can recommend the sirloin and bernaise sauce- yum!) can't wait to come back. :)

The room was fine, comfy and clean. It had a heated towel rack too, useful for drying some clothing that I washed in the sink. The dining area was a little puzzling. I was part of a tour group, and it was strictly ordained what tables we were allowed to eat at and which ones were forbidden to us. The next morning there was a great deal of confusion as to whether we were allowed to eat the cooked or merely the continental breakfast. I think this hotel would be great for a wedding reception or rehearsal dinner. Ordinary tourists might want to consider other options.

Held a work event here recently. Very comfortable surroundings. Clean and good parking. Staff very helpful especially with setting up room and food superb! The participant evaluations all commented on the amazing food.

I have just spent a few days at this hotel whilst visiting family in Derry. I cannot fault the hotel, the rooms are clean spacious and have all the facilities you would expect and require. Breakfast was everything I'd hoped for serving a delicious Ulster fry!! We did eat in the restaurant on one night during our stay and I have say the meal was excellent and believe me you will not leave hungry. All the staff are lovely, friendly and eager to help at all times. However a special mention has to be given to Danielle on reception who has been so helpful during our stay with everything from sorting out taxis, advice,to calling me when out and about with train times to help us get to our next destination. Thanks Danielle you have been a star and one of the friendliest and helpful people I've met at any hotel. I would recommend this hotel as perfect base for visiting Derry and surrounding area.

A special Day to remember such was the " Professional & Helpful Service " by the entire staff of the White Horse Hotel, The location was perfect with large car park for our many far travelling guests. The wedding reception was held in the Willsboro Suite and it was just the perfect venue for the wedding, The Bar was adjoining the Willsboro suite which works perfect for a wedding reception, and adjoining that was a large quieter area at the Hotels Lobby with Arm chairs and coffee tables which was also just perfect for our guests who wanted a quiet drink and a chat with old friends & family. Some of our guests who had travelled from far away, booked approximately 25 Rooms in the Hotel and all were very pleased and satisfied with their rooms which were clean spacious and comfortable. Our guests throughout the Wedding day reception and then the evening reception totalled 160, our 4 course Dinner meal : Excellent ! ( I had, Caesar Salad - Turkey & Ham & Stuffing potatoes & 3 veg - Trio of desserts - Tea & Coffee , our evening reception buffet : Excellent ! ( chicken tenders, potato chips cocktail sausages sandwiches tea & Coffee and cake ) Breakfast in the morning : Excellent ! ( every option you can think on, except kippers - Try the Pancake machine the kids will love it ). I would recommend the Best Western Plus White Horse Hotel as being a perfect venue for a Family Wedding. Simply tell their professional management team your wedding package requirements and let them deliver the perfect wedding as they have done for my Family & Friends. A High 5 to one and all who made our Wedding Function & Stay such a successful and pleasurable occasion ! !

Held a great event here. Staff were amazing, very professional and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. We had the carvary lunch for over 100 people and it was beautiful. We will definitely be back!

Good 4 star hotel for a night away. Room modern and bed comfortable. Enjoyed the pool and had a very good meal in the restaurant. Very friendly and helpful staff...even when it was obviousley really busy. Would recommend.

Had another amazing stay at the white horse hotel. Came for the weekend for our anniversary and everything was perfect from start to finish. Staff on reception and in the restaurant are amazing and can't do enough to help. Every single member of staff you meet has a smile on their face. The food was amazing in the restaurant. Excellent choice on the menu and everything we ordered was delicious. The room was perfect as always and we even arrived to a lovely anniversary surprise as you can see in the picture. All in all we had another wonderful stay and I'm looking forward to returning next weekend for a girlie weekend!!

My beautiful wife and I, Susan, would like to say that we had the most wondrous day at this hotel. From the very first moment that we met Kimberley, the events planner, we were in safe hands. Everything we wanted came to fruition. The ceremony in the Eglinton Suite, the intimate meal in the Garden Suite before the big bash itself in the Willsboro. The music, the atmosphere, the food were all part of this fabulous day. We could not recommend this venue any more. It was the perfect backdrop for our perfect day. Thank you.

Situated on the outskirts of beautiful Derry this hotel could be easily missed but I can tell you it is well worth a visit. I treated my mother to afternoon tea and was not disappointed. We started with a mocktail and it was heavenly so fresh and smooth we sat in the beer garden and admired the beautiful mountain view as we sipped and relaxed.Inside the restaurant we were greeted and treated like royalty,the service was top class,we had food requests due to allergies and this was not an issue at all! We thought that this would restrict the food choices but we were so wrong!when the food came oh my!!! It looked spectacular and tasted just the same. We had wraps and sandwiches,scones with vanilla cream tjat was to die for and jam,all freshly made.The ham in the sandwiches was so delicious as was the egg and cress and chicken salad. Traybakes and lemon mousse and lashings of freshly brewed tea to wash it all down. I have been to many an establishment for afternoon tea but I can truly say White Horse you are galloping ahead of them all.

Whenever we're in Derry we always stay here and this is our 6th time. Never disappoints. The rooms are fine with all you need, but what always stands out every time are the staff. They are so warm and friendly, especially Kimberley. We were here for a family occasion this time and couldn't have been made more welcome. They're all really lovely people. And the breakfast is amazing. You won't need to eat for the rest of the day if you have the Irish Breakfast.

What a lovely hotel, book the here comes the girls deal for me and 2 friends, when we got the deal we were expecting the hotel to be “average” for the price we paid but the hotel was perfect from the minute we walked in to the minute we left, staff all over the hotel were lovely, the spa was amazing and the food ?? delicious would defo 100% book again thanks for a lovely relaxing stay

As a family we went to The White Horse Hotel for a First Communion meal. Service and food were first class. The staff were particularly welcoming and the tray of sprinkles that was brought out with dessert, and a sparkler, which made a happy little girl feel very special on her big day. Special thanks to that member of staff (may have been Hussein if I clocked his name badge correctly- apologies if I'm not even close). All the staff were great.

Staff were great! Room was comfortable and the price was reasonable! Lovely stay! Especially the lovely ‘happy birthday'dessert plate that was in the room to welcome us! Would stay again if visiting Derry! Only con which was it was out a bit from city 15 mins, so you would be better off with a car! ??
