"A very nice stay"
Chip1701, 26 Octobre 2023

We had a very nice stay at this hotel. It is just outside the center area of Limoges, about a 5-minute walk. Neighborhood seemed very safe. We used their onsite parking garage. The staff were all very nice and helpful. Our room was the normal size for a European hotel, and hotel has an elevator. Breakfast was very good.

"Check your bill so you don't get charge for more than you stayed. Great customer service though "
helenandpaul13, 06 Octobre 2023

Hotel on the main road - you can pay for parking but I didn't and managed to find parking on the Main Street. Turned out I hadn't paid for breakfast, and it costs 15 Euros each day for it. I got it on the last morning because I had al one drive that day. Hotel was fine, but operating the shower was odd. There was a carry out next to the hotel for anyone who does not want to pay the cost of staying here. I had a problem when checking out because the hotel wanted to charge me 15 Euros for breakfast every day even thought I had only had it for the last day, which was a discrepancy of 45 Euros. However, after some discussion with the translation app, I got the cost removed. Otherwise, it was a nice place to stay and given that it was on a main road, it was quiet. One good thing about this was that I left an expensive jacket at the hotel when I left. I was unaware until I was miles away and they phoned me to inform me. When I got back to England I contacted them and made arrangements for them to send it to me. Took about 10 days but I received it. Really pleased with the service for this because the jacket was expensive.

"Good budget hotel"
signup2023, 03 Février 2023

The hotel is reasonably central, the room was very clean, the hotel room was warm even though outside was bitterly cold, staff were polite and helpful. The price was reasonable enough. The public areas are a little cramped and there is not much to do in them (read, relax, work, socialise). However, I wanted a warm, clean place with a good bed and that I got.

"Pleasant place to stay with limitations"
ggjsg, 15 Juin 2022

This establishment is very clean, the bedrooms are pleasant, large and airy with good working aircon. The staff were all very welcoming and helpful which is very pleasant. The breakfatsts are average and the room it is served in is to small when the hotel is busy. The only down side to this establisment is the fact it does not have a proper bar area to use .

"Relaxing"
TriciaandBill, 26 Septembre 2021

This was a lovely find and we had an enjoyable evening in Limoges The hotel was very clean and comfortable and we would be happy to recommend it. Breakfast was excellent too. The staff were all vey friendly and professional

"Great stay"
Seat_13c, 19 Septembre 2021

We were given an upgrade upon check-in. Very nice room, modern décor, with all amenities (mini-fridge, iron, safe, coffee maker). Good breakfast buffet. But best of all was the amazing service at reception. Very close to city center and within walking distance to restaurants and bars. Parking available.

"I loved it"
Reto1961, 13 Juillet 2021

Hotel very close to Limoges downtown, just 5 minutes walk. Staff all over the hotel very very friendly and welcoming. Room not large, but ok for a short stay. Air Conditioning working properly, which is not always the case in Europe. Breakfast was also very good. When we arrived, they told us that due to Covid 19 they will not clean the room the next day. For us, this is now an excuse to save staff costs. But when we asked the next day to have our room anyway cleaned, a big YES OF COURSE was the answer. So again : the staff attitude makes the difference, and these people earn a 5 star rating.

"very good service and clean comfortable hotel"
annesZ5309SI, 19 Septembre 2020

have stayed here several times whilst visiting family. Always impressed with the helpful staff. Rooms clean and neat, parking (recommend reserving) and good location for walking into centre and getting back onto motorway.

"Great Location"
TJGFRANCE, 22 Juillet 2020

Great hotel two minutes from Limoges centre. Supermarket next door for small shopping. Very pleasant hotel and helpful staff. Secure parking for motorcycles. Very clean with many facilities and a small bar.

"The usual Best Western standards of quality"
Mlindzy, 14 Octobre 2019

My wife and I stayed here one night while traveling through France on vacation. We booked it on-the-go as we were driving north from the Mediterranean up to Brittany, and chose it for the combination of Best Western reputation, good price, and easy location. We weren't able to park in their very small interior car lot, but we had no trouble finding parking on the street within 50 meters of the entrance. The staff was pleasant enough, the room was clean and the bathroom was spacious (a rare treat for married couples traveling together).

"A very pleasant hotel located close to the centre of Limoges"
GGGlen62, 09 Octobre 2019

The Best Western was in the best traditions of the group. The room was clean, airy, well maintained & modern, cleaned each day and very quiet for sleeping. The team there were all very pleasant, courteous, helpful and smart. Breakfast was good and served in a pleasant room. One tip - try to book a space in the car park as street parking is hard to find

"Lovely hotel"
Daydream52070642088, 01 Juillet 2019

Best Western Plus Richelieu is a lovely place to stay in Limoges. Only 10-15min to the center, supermarket just next to it. It's clean and the receptionists are very helpful and friendly. Parking is however is quite limited.

"The staff make all the difference !"
John G, 10 Juin 2019

We arrived about 9:15 in the evening and the receptionist was very welcoming. At breakfast the staff were equally friendly . And when we could not extract our cat from underneath the bed the housekeeper was very understanding and helped us to trap the pesky beast. The room was well appointed and quiet. The breakfast buffet had a wide choice of tasty things - these are the things you expect from the big hotel chains but it was the personal touch from the staff that I liked most. I recommend reserving parking since the street was quite full.

"SLEEPLESS NIGHT"
Z3342KBpaulv, 26 Février 2019

Took this hotel to have a good night of rest during my business trip in Limoges. Biggest mistake ever good dumped in a closetroom on the third floor with the best neighbor ever THE F***ING BOILER ROOM!!!! MY ROOM HAS BEEN NOISY AND FULL OF VIBRATIONS ALL NIGHT The solution for a one night stay is to move me to another room at two o clock in the morning and am seems I am being the difficult one not wanting to move all my stuff at two in the morning. They even admitted being aware of the problem, not being the first customer to complain. If you really do care about customer service the room would have not have been rented anymore until proper isolation works are done.... Last time in a Best Western hotel. What do you book a 4 star hotel for if you can't even sleep.

"Weekend Stay"
Russonsfam, 22 Janvier 2019

After I booked this I realised there maybe a problem with parking and although I tried to pre book got no response from the hotel. When I arrived as a suspected I could not park and struggled to find a parking space on the street which was not great. This was resolved for the next two days. I booked the small business room which was fine, bed was great Wi-fi good as well. Good location to walk into town. I though breakfast was expensive so walked into town. So overall downside was parking limited and tight space if you get a spot in the hotel car park the room however was great and the staff helpful.

"Best Western Plus hotel Richelieu"
platpeeps, 13 Novembre 2018

We stayed here on a Sunday night, as part of an overnight business trip in the area. Quite convenient for the airport (probably 30-45 minutes away). It doesn't seem to be in the most interesting part of the town, nor is the hotel entrance itself particularly thrilling, but once you get inside, it's nicely appointed and we had a very friendly welcome from the receptionist. We were quickly checked in and paid for the room (for some reason we hadn't done so whilst booking online) and went up to our room on the first floor. Don't know about a view (it was dark), but the hotel is very quiet (we suspect we may have been the only people staying there. There is a coffee machine (free of charge, but no milk provided) in reception, which was very welcome and a bowl of free local apples (I didn't know that the Limousin apples have their own appellation!). The receptionist recommended a couple of nearby restaurants which were open on a Sunday, and one of them proved to be excellent! Nice room (twin beds), not a whole lot of space, but quite sufficient, and the free wi-fi signal was excellent. Good bathroom facilities and a comfortable bed and lovely linen. Really enjoyed our stay, would definitely stay here again! The hotel is located within a short walk of the central town area (the old city area), which is delightful with all its half-beamed houses, etc.

"Do not stay here"
benasm, 20 Octobre 2018

Dark and very unpleasant, unless you really have to, don't stay in this hotel! Wifi is horrendous and overall not a cozy hotel, the 'gym' is just a room with two cardio machines, which is kind of standard in France. The staff was friendly and nice although i changed my reservation. Did not dare to look at the breakfast, parking is limited, mostly on the street.

"Short break to Limoges with superb, warm and welcoming staff"
Mobile774691, 23 Septembre 2018

Recently returned from a short break to Limoges well worth a visit, this holiday is a little gem with superb service from the warm and welcoming staff who all went that extra mile to offer advice about the area, where to visit, maps, good food etc they certainly made make our stay more enjoyable. Do not let the outside or the quirky layout put you off the bedroom and bathroom are a good size, good furnishings, very clean and well maintained. The location is excellent only a few minutes walk from the centre with plenty of bars and restaurants within easy reach. Parking is also available at a small extra charge.

"Girls weekend in Limoges!"
TravellingPethers, 23 Septembre 2018

I visited Limoges with four friends and stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. I agree with other reviews, this isn't the most attractive hotel from the outside but it definitely makes up for this with the standard of the room and the level of service from the staff! The rooms were immaculate, a great size and very comfortable. The bathrooms were of a good size and the fixtures were all new and easy to use. The rooms all had external roller shutters that completely blacked out the room should you wish - perfect! We didn't use the restaurant so can't comment on the standard of the food. The staff at the hotel were superb, nothing was too much trouble and they were very friendly and helpful in booking taxis, storing luggage, advising on where to visit and giving us complimentary toiletries that we had forgotten to bring with us. The hotel is situated next to a well stocked supermarket and a short walk (under 10 mins) to the Old Town and nearby restaurants. Would highly recommended this hotel!

"Quality hotel close to the old town."
dawnwatcher2017, 10 Septembre 2018

Very good value when combined with a City Pass (30% hotel discount for 2 nights - & 24hr free bus and access to a range of visitor sites). Very helpful staff. Fluent English. Good breakfast which, although a little expensive, there was a cheaper express option. Private parking.

"Good hotel "
lauraanded06, 30 Août 2018

We visited as a family and used a booking agent to book. We asked for a lower floor room but had been allocated a suite on the 6th floor in the second part of the building. The suite was lovely but up a large spiral staircase or there was a lift; i don't use lifts so we asked to be moved and were moved to the 3rd floor; the rooms are clean and beds comfy, the hotel offers a mini fridge, shower room, separate toilet and a proper bed for children. Spacious room, the windows had shutters and there was air con, breakfast was buffet style and food and staff were lovely.

"Very comfortable hotel"
Bunnio, 03 Juillet 2018

We requested and were given a standard quiet room, facing an internal courtyard. The room appeared to be newly decorated to a high standard. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was large and excellent. Sound insulation internally was fairly good. The air conditioning was very effective but a bit inaccurate - it was easy to get the room too hot or too cold. We did not take breakfast so cannot comment on its quality, although at 15 Euros per head it would need to be good! There is a supermarket next door and a fridge in the room, although the hotel states that food cannot be stored in the room. We stored milk in the fridge without problem. Staff were friendly and helpful. We found parking difficult in the area. The hotel has a tiny car park which was full during our stay. We managed to get a free on-road space in the back roads behind the hotel, but very few parking spaces became available during our stay. We would recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

"'First impressions aren't always what they seem!'"
petematthews, 19 Juin 2018

An interesting hotel - The outside needs a little TLC, with paint coming off the walls, and the main canopy needs replacing - but minor details. Once inside it's completely different. The hotel is clean and tidy with pretty good sized rooms. I stayed in the annexe - which was a short walk from the main block. Easy access, my room was pleasantly decorated, and comfortable. Reception staff, very professional and helpful. The Cathedral is a short walk from the hotel. Their are decent places to eat and bars within a 10 minute walk. I'd stay here again.

"Just what we needed!"
GrenouilleSavoureuse, 02 Juin 2018

We enjoyed a one night stopover at this central Limoges hotel. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Secure parking at 5 euros for the night was a great bonus. We booked a Superior King room which was clean and had everything we needed. We were exhausted after a long drive so we had an early supper in a local Italian restaurant (which was superb!) and an early night. With air conditioning, black-out shutters and an extremely confortable large bed, we slept like logs!! The shower was powerful and hot. We would recommend staying at this hotel for a city break.

"A very good place to stay"
FliesM20P, 22 Mai 2018

Reasonably priced rooms that are very modern in style with good bathrooms. Buffet breakfast felt a bit pricey at $15 but a broad offering. Small gripe - Dreadful teabags supplied in the room with capsules of cream but no milk!

"Great find booked last minute"
Robert W, 08 Avril 2018

A last minute decision to go to Limoges. We were delighted with this hotel, everything was excellent, from dealing with staff at reception, to the little present of chocolate eggs on the bed to the room itself. The location is a very convenient ten minutes walk to the old town. There's a small car park at the hotel, which seemed to have a limited number of spaces. Had it been full it would have added a bit of hassle factor, that's the only negative.

"Very good hotel"
Barry H, 23 Mars 2018

Spent a single night in Limoges heading north through France. This hotel was great for us after a long drive. The reception staff were very good, helpful and informative. We had been upgraded which was nice. The room was extremely comfortable with a lovely bathroom (you need a PHD to operate the shower!). It is a very short walk into the old town, the market and the restaurants. There is private parking at a fee but we were lucky enough to get a spot just outside for free.

"Great pick for your Limoges Stay"
marilynkeys, 15 Janvier 2018

A comfortable, very clean and welcoming hotel. And the bed, better than my own at home! A very short walk into the historical town centre offering a wide choice of eateries and opportunities to purchase a piece of locally made and designed porcelain. A delightful overnight stay.

"Very nice hotel, would gladly stay again"
Dafman72, 11 Novembre 2017

Stayed here a few nights ago on a business trip - didn't arrive until after midnight but the reception/night manager was still cheerful and polite. It's a small hotel but very nice - in good condition and nicely decorated and with nicely appointed rooms. The bed is comfy, the WiFi works well, the bedroom is clean, the bathroom is very nice and you just feel you're in a good quality establishment. The breakfast was good - a decent selection of hot and cold dishes and reasonably good coffee too. I would gladly stay here again.

"Business trip to Limoges"
MistressMonika, 21 Octobre 2017

The hotel was located in a quiet area within 5 min walk to the old town and also next door to a good size grocery store. The entrance to the hotel is nice and open, with views to a small hotel gym, seating area, bar and buffet seating area (not sure if it qualifies as a proper restaurant?) I had booked a single room, which was not too small but cozy, comfortable, modern and functional. Air conditioning worked perfectly! The staff were amazingly friendly, helpful and responsive - honoring all of my requests promptly and with true concern for my happiness. The breakfast buffet was simple but with a good selection of warm and cold items (both the food and drink). My only complaint is that the (powdered - yuck) scrambled eggs and bacon were undercooked (my apologies that I forgot to inform the staff)

"Got an Upgrade!!"
DavoRutland, 08 Octobre 2017

A very nice hotel in central Limoges, ideal for a one night stopover. Secure parking, friendly staff and a comfortable and quiet room - we were very grateful for an upgrade. Lovely bathroom with nice hot water, which isn't always the case.

"Charming staff"
DavidP26, 29 Septembre 2017

I wrote a review of this hotel when we visited in June, but it appears to have been deleted by Trip advisor! So I will try again.... The hotel looks dreadful, a grotty front aspect in a busy street dominated by the garage doors. Behind this is a small and well run hotel. The room was small, French style, but clean and very comfortable. The most notable aspect of our visit was the staff. In the past French restaurant staff and hotel management have had a bad reputation in England. All this I promise you has now changed. Everyone was helpful but the standout was a wonderful girl on reception who managed my broken French with great charm and made us feel very welcome. I hope she can be cloned and placed in every Best Western Hotel worldwide!

"A good base for motorcycle touring (but not cheap)"
Neil P, 16 Septembre 2017

Used this twice now. Secure parking for our motorcycle right in the city centre. A high quality room and bathroom. Its what Best Western does well. Good air con, comfortable bed. If you don't want to pay 15 euros each for breakfast , just pop in the Carrefoure Express next door.......

"Pleasant hotel, good stop off on route"
London_Kent_UK, 04 Septembre 2017

A pleasant hotel We've stayed here a number of times over the years primarily due to location on route. We often carry bikes on the car and they have secure, off street parking. We never eat in as so close to town centre, rooms are fine for one night stay, staff always helpful and room rate resaonable.

"Wonderful"
Lulu026, 03 Septembre 2017

We had a wonderful stay here recently and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the area. The staff were all really nice and accommodating. Any staff members i spoke with were very patient with my terrible french and spoke english if we preferred! The room was spacious with an extremely comfortable bed, tea and coffee facilities and our room even had a little balcony. The hotel offers parking for a fee but you need to contact them before hand to book your space as it is limited. The hotel itself is in a great location with only a 5 minute walk to the town centre with shops, bars and restaurants. Can't recommend it enough!

"Best Hotel Ever!"
mili4745, 19 Août 2017

After a long flight to Paris from Canada, our eventual destination was a 7 hour drive away necessitating a break in the journey. Limoges was perfect and we booked into the Best Western. This was not my preferred hotel as previous experience with BW was awful to mediocre. WHAT A SURPRISE. Great welcome from staff who were patient with my non existent French! Room was small, this was to be expected in a beautiful old building, but it was perfect, everything you needed, modern, exceptionally clean, modern well appointed bathroom. I don't sleep well in hotels not helped by the endless electronic lights and light pollution from poorly fitting doors. Not here! No piercing little red and green lights, well fitting door, the addition of outside window shutters created complete darkness, resulted in best sleep in a hotel EVER!.

"Super hotel in a convenient location"
daviddogpop, 14 Juillet 2017

The hotel is unassuming from the outside but once inside the service is terrific. All the staff were very helpful. Room 204 was really quiet with a extra-wide bed, fridge, tea and coffee and a modern, well appointed bath / shower room. Outside, the temperature was 35 degrees so the quiet, efficient air-conditioning was much appreciated. There is no restaurant the but the breakfasts were outstanding. Orange juicer, egg boiler, toaster, good selection of breads and pancakes plus the usual assortment of continental meats and cheeses, a selection of fruits plus hot foods. . The location meant we were within a 20 minute walk of the major attractions like the museums and the cathedral. The "old quarter" was a 5 minute walk.. As an added bonus, there is an excellent Michelin restaurant opposite the hotel.

"A well run hotel close to the city centre"
chilternwayhouse, 08 Juillet 2017

Our room looked out over a main road into the city centre, but we were not troubled by traffic noise: the double glazing and window blinds are very effective insulators. Air conditioning is necessary in this region in the summer; this hotel's is effective and quiet enough to leave on overnight. The room was clean and comfortable, if a little small for a stay of more than a few nights. The bathroom should be better designed: the shower has no lip or other barrier to prevent water from running out onto the floor of the rest of the bathroom, and then into the carpet of the bedroom. This means that we have to use towels to block the flow of water. There is no restaurant, but the hotel will microwave a ready meal if asked (can't speak for the quality.). The bar/restaurant quarter of Limoges is only a few minutes' walk away. Remember, though, that most of the restaurants do not open on Sundays, and many do not open on Mondays - Le Versailles is one of the few that open on Sundays. Hotel breakfasts are good and varied. Ours were included in the room price and were good value. Staff were friendly and helpful. We had no need to ask them to communicate in English, but they seemed at home in that language when talking to other guests. We would stay here again.

"Great Spot"
Tiger173, 30 Juin 2017

Friendliest and most helpful hotel staff I've ever came across. Hotel is located next to a supermarket and within walking distance from restaurants. En Bas D'la Rue was recommended by the receptionist, excellent restaurant. Rooms are sleek n cozy.

"Great stopping place on a road trip through France"
Riggers35, 16 Mai 2017

Stopped here for one night on way back from Spain and heading through France to our ferry crossing. Hotel is well located for the town centre, easy to find and has secure parking (which I reserved prior to my stay) at a reasonable cost. Décor was good, rooms were clean and comfortable. I didn't manage to get the air con working properly but was too tired to call reception so that's my fault not theirs. Most local restaurants were closed as it was Sunday, but the hotel recommended one which was open, within walking distance and called to reserve a table for us. The following morning, we had the express breakfast as we wanted to get away early - it was lovely, nice choice of fresh pastries, juice and a hot drink - perfect start to the last leg of our journey. The staff were excellent, very helpful and friendly. Overall great choice, great service and I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for accommodation in the Limoges area.

"nice Chain hotel typical and friendly"
Ran N, 15 Avril 2017

Lovely place - nice place to stay at while in Limoges. Rooms are nice and well equipped. Breakfast is good. Excellent restaurant across the street for dinner but reservations are recommended beforehand.

"Hospitality"
Matzs1492, 10 Avril 2017

Hotel well situated vs. city center. Staff more or less permanent for a long time and they are very kind. Full renovated rooms are very clean. Royale quality breakfast.Good ratio between quality & price / value.

"Accommodations perfect!"
psmith5324, 28 Mars 2017

We travel in trios and need three seperate beds. All over the world, it is often impossible to find accommodations that fit this profile, even in the off off seasons, but this hotel makes the cut beautifully. Its family rooms are perfect. Clean, easy access and parking, qualified, helpful staff with no attitude. All give it our A-plus rating at any price and the surprisingly great price for the room, was a very nice bonus!

"2 day visit"
Paul L, 20 Novembre 2016

Stayed two days in mid November. Location is good, parking difficult for large 4x4-otherwise on the street. Opposite, is one of the very best restaurants in the area-closed Mondays. Rooms are modern, very clean. Wi-fi is 100 0/0. Breakfast is good value @ 10 euro. All in all, an excellent stay.

"Very nice accommodations with lovely staff"
santafecarol, 15 Novembre 2016

This hotel is in a great location and the rooms are nice. The structure is old and unique so finding your room is aided by the kind staff. The breakfast is really good with FRESH offerings and lovely services. When you enter you have to struggle to get your luggage up a set of stairs to the registration desk. After staying there a few days I asked the hotel for help with luggage and they gave it. We were very happy staying here and will stay there again when we return. THere was a really nice young man from England who worked at buffet and helping whereever he could who was particularly engaging and pleasant. SOrry I don't remember your name.

"Conveniently placed between the centres"
_jamiebebb, 01 Novembre 2016

Perfectly comfortable room with friendly and helpful staff at the desk. However, the room has been designed to appeal to the eye rather than with practical things in mind such as storage space for clothes. No restaurant but plenty of advice as to where to go. Limited parking off road so important to book in advance. The hotel is equidistant from the two old city centres in Limoges. One has the cathedral, galleries and museums and the other is more for shopping and eating.

"Modern room, great service"
sue08, 10 Octobre 2016

Check-in and checkout was swift and efficient and the rooms were modern and clean. We pre booked secure overnight parking in the locked underground car park for an extra 10 Euros. It is worth noting that there are only a few spaces available, so pre booking is essential.

"Very nice stay!"
Felicia D, 22 Septembre 2016

This hotel is in an excellent location, in the center of town in Limoges, France. There are several restaurants nearby and a market next door. It's with 30 minutes (driving) to Oradour-sur-Glane. Wifi is free, although I'm having a problem getting and then staying connected. You can park in their private, enclosed garage for ten euros a day, money well spent I think. There's a breakfast buffet, but no restaurant, but there is delivery if you want. The front desk staff are very nice and helpful. There's complimentary water, tea and coffee and a door that opens up to a shared patio overlooking the street. Also, there's a towel heater, which works quite nicely for drying hand-washed clothes, too! Lastly, sleep was amazing! There's an automated shade and it has provided excellent room darkness and the bed and pillows were amazing!

"Great respite from the city"
Alan S, 22 Septembre 2016

Don't be put off by the dowdy exterior. Inside - and particularly the bedrooms - it's a very pleasant oasis of calm and quality. We had a superior room which delivered on all fronts. Good size, excellent lighting, wonderfully comfortable king size bed, excellent bath/shower facilities, good size flat screen TV, complimentary water etc. Very quite and got a great nights sleep before getting to the airport first thing Monday morning - only 15 minutes by car! Not expensive for the location and quality and you can stroll into the old pedestrian quarters of Limoges in 10 minutes. There maybe better hotels in Limoges centre but I won't bother looking for them while this one keeps up their standards. Don't forget to reserve a private parking space well before arrival of you need one as they are fairly limited but worth the €10 per night charge.

"great customer service"
Maggie276, 22 Septembre 2016

We were upgraded to a superior room which was quite spacious. Well furnished and clean. Free wi fi, tea and coffee and bottles of water in the fridge. Paid €10 to park overnight but came down in the morning to find the windscreen had been cleaned - very useful when driving a long distance. Staff in all areas of hotel could not have been more helpful, particularly as we were travelling with an elderly relative. Breakfast buffet was very good. All in all, good for the price.

"Good location in Limoges"
WeeLuv2Travel2, 10 Septembre 2016

We stopped outside the parking garage to check in and were surprised to hear it was already full. We choose hotels with parking when we travel in Europe but I guess I missed the fact that this hotel had limited spaces. Anyway we parked round the corner in the Indigo parking at the university which was fine. Check in was fine and found our room very comfortable and a good size. bathroom was also nice and airco was a plus. Very comfortable nights sleep and with the Carrefour Express next door we opted to get OJ from there for a light breakfast. Only negative was wifi as the signal was weak and you had to enter the (complex) password every time you booted up. Other than that, a pleasant stay. Oh, but they also could do with a ramp on the stairs up to reception for suitcases!

"Overnight in Limoges to visit the porcelain factories and museums"
MichaelThomasS, 08 Septembre 2016

Room was cozy though a bit tight, all amenities needed were available. Too bad extra charge for breakfast and garage, though handy when no parking available on street. Extremely friendly staff upon arrival and departure, helpful at all times.

"Calm and clean"
WillCua, 07 Septembre 2016

We were upgraded to a superior room though we don't know the difference between the standard. Room was neat, clean and spacious with free parking and free wifi. The hotel is quite far from the main center (by foot). We arrived one sunday, and considering it was summer season, all the restaurants nearby were closed. We had option either to order dinner from the hotel dining which offers packed meals heated on microwave oven; or walk about 15 to 20 minutes to find a food establishment in the main center. Overall, we still recommend this hotel for its quality over price.

"A gem of a hotel!"
Monique C, 07 Septembre 2016

My husband and I stayed in this hotel while passing through the city of. Limoges. The hotel is well situated, nicely renovated, and staff are very friendly and accommodating. We were pleasantly surprised when we were upgraded to a superior room. Everything about the room was very comfortable. We would definitely stay there again. We highly recommend it!

"Fine"
Trip-reviewed, 26 Août 2016

Standard, clean and functional. Helpful and professional staff. Grocers next door. Easy walking to the picturesque old town where good dining can be found. Go visit the Limoges porcelain museum and the maisonette during voucher.

"Good spec and comfortable room."
Topaz2014, 20 Août 2016

Loved this hotel all quality furniture, comfortable bed and efficient ensuite grohe design shower bathroom. Polite and informative staff. Gym small but made me excercise. A breeze compared to the last hotel on this trip.

"Fine but nothing special"
kleic, 19 Août 2016

I've stayed in some great Best Westerns in Europe and this one doesn't really rate. It's perfectly adequate for a stop-over, which is how lots of people seem to use it. The outside looks a bit dumpy but it's fine inside (once you get up the staircase to reception, a bummer when you're lugging your suitcase) and the room was actually quite comfortable. The two best things about this hotel for us were 1) the grocery store just down the street; and 2) the late check out time (noon, I think) that allowed us to go wandering in Limoges for two hours before getting back on the road. If you do stay here, definitely take a walk into the old city just up the road and meander on some of the back streets. We were there on a Sunday and not a lot was open but we enjoyed the covered market (LOTS of fresh produce!) and found our way to Sugar Tree, a cafe run by an American expat that I reviewed separately. One complaint is that we had arranged parking via email only to find that there was no record of it on our reservation; it turned out to be no big deal given that there was ample on-street parking but be sure to include parking when you're making the reservation rather than separately by email if you want to park in their garage.

"Most comfortable bed ever!"
champers22, 16 Août 2016

We stayed one night here - travelling through the region. The hotel is in a great spot for sight-seeing. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was small but we did have an extra bed. Great bathroom - loved the shower. Wifi was great - needed to get login codes from the desk and had to keep logging in every so often - a bit of a pain. We didn't opt for breakfast but there are cafes and shops nearby. The best thing was the bed - it was huge and probably the most comfortable I have ever slept in. That and the quietness of the room +aircon, we really enjoyed our stay. Well Recommended!

"Very good overnight stay. Jessica, on reception, is a star!"
TiredOldTraveller, 14 Août 2016

Small hotel, has limited secure parking but it's free to park on the street and it seems like a safe district. Arrived late and unexpected (this was an impromptu stopover on a long trip). Unusually for France (in my experience) the receptionist, Jessica, was extremely helpful and efficient and recommended a local restaurant which was very close and excellent. Room was quiet clean and well equipped, beds comfortable. Will certainly return if in Limoges again.

"Good"
shanghaill, 06 Août 2016

It was the first time we try Best Western hotel, it was a good stay. The staff is professional, the room was great, the breakfast OK. No surprise! No more comment, but if we have another opportunity to try this brand, we will do!

"Ok for a budget. "
Fattymcnair, 19 Juillet 2016

This place is pretty good. Went off the trip advisor ratings and yes it was clean and in a good location. I would stay here again. The staff were ultra helpful and they even washed our windscreen! Gave us good recommendation for dinner and it rocked. Chez (something)?

"Great overnight stay"
Malcolm B, 17 Juillet 2016

From the outside it is not promising but inside it is very friendly, very helpful, clean with everything we wanted. Just a few minutes walk to the old town which has a few lovely old streets. We even got our windscreen cleaned whilst we were asleep. Well done hotel. Excellent value for money.

"Excellent place to stay in Limoges"
BelisariusUK, 13 Juillet 2016

We found this to be a very clean and conveniently located hotel very close to the centre of Limoges - within easy walking distance. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast (which is not included in the price) was excellent. We'll definitely be back at Christmas when we return to spend time with the French half of the family. The beds were comfortable and the price very reasonable. I'd recommend it without hesitation.

"Good hotel ! Good price !"
Manuel C, 09 Juillet 2016

Well located for the downtown and University activities, just a 25 minutes walking from the Technical part of the University of Limoges. A lot of nice bars, restaurants around, as well a Carrefour City near the basement. Good room, quality, breakfast buffet with self squizzed fresh orange juice. A must ! If good luck, parking on the street, the hotel parking is really small. City Hall near and a small gym on the basement.

"Excellent !,"
Trevor H, 25 Juin 2016

The front of house staff are excellent - particularly the lady. So helpful We had a wonderful room, for those with mobility problems. Well priced and a good breakfast and secure parking. Room much larger than usual on the Continent and well located for Bars, bistros and restaurants. It caters well for conferences

"Lovely stay"
Taff P, 17 Juin 2016

Very helpful and friendly staff, very comfortable and clean room, breakfast was 15 euro which seemed a bit on the expensive side. Quiet and peaceful. Good for close proximity to the airport. Would recommend this hotel highly.

"Scary Shower"
Paul H, 30 Mai 2016

Nice quiet hotel on the edge of the city centre ( 10 minutes walk) friendly staff and helpful too. The room was just fine and comfortable. The shower has 4 controls , one for temperature which you recognise with ease , one for a hand held shower , one for the fixed shower and finally the joker in the the pack the one that fires the six other jets of water at you . Not dangerous at all but interesting. Breakfast was very nice and a little more to English tastes.

"Excellent place to stop in Limoges"
nandh_10, 23 Mai 2016

Not the easiest place to find, but worth it when you get there, good service, secure parking for car and motorbike (the latter was much appreciated by us). Good base to use for exploring the city. All the main sights are within walking or bus range.

"Birthday night out"
Linda H, 10 Mai 2016

I chose this hotel because I wanted to have a celebration meal in Limoges with my husband for his birthday without the worry of having a drink and driving home. The hotel was only slightly more than a 2 way taxi journey. The hotel and staff were excellent in every way. Friendly, helpful, welcoming staff. Clean, comfortable, quiet rooms and an excellent breakfast (though I still find it difficult to drink tea which is not made with boiling water). We loved it and will definitely go there again.

"solid, clean, convenient"
lasarilla, 22 Mars 2016

needed a place to stay over while on a road trip. our room was very clean and comfortable. the breakfast buffet was tasty and fresh with a surprisingly wide variety of foods. there is a parking lot where you can park for 10 euros per day.

"Lovely hotel"
smiler2010, 04 Mars 2016

This hotel is perfect for a long weekend stay in Limoges, the rooms are clean, spacious and the staff extremely pleasant. Breakfast was great, loads to choose from and the pancakes/waffles were cooked fresh on arrival! Only downside is the bar area, it could be moved to an area away from the reception and the parking was very limited. However this did not spoil our trip, it was amazing. The hotel is centrally located and we would return without doubt again.

"Great Location good nights sleep"
lily529, 03 Mars 2016

This is a great location for Limoges , and being a city hotel I did not expect the room to be so quiet which is a bonus, the room is very clean and had a very good nights sleep , so that was impressive, the cups as previous people commented have no handles ,but really didn't bother me it's a bit quirky but the fact that a kettle is provided and you can make a cup of tea is good also in our superior room we had. There was a fridge and two bottles of water ,parking was also provided again not always easy to find in a city, the only thing which could be improve upon is a restaurant in the hotel, there is a Michelin starred restaurant 2 mins walk away but we didn't fancy sitting down to 3 course meal after our journey, so we took a walk and found Lauthentique Brassiere with average food ,great service they tried so hard ,but the highlight was a gentleman playing the piano almost non stop it was fantastic while we ate.

"Best of all..!"
AmitNsk, 15 Décembre 2015

Stayed here fr 6 days, never found anything to point out as less than perfect! Super-sized rooms, clean linen, lovely views, great breakfast n not too forget some of d most beautiful staff on board..! The best hotel you can get in Limoges.. N affordable too!

"Excellent for location and comfort"
Cristina G, 29 Octobre 2015

The hotel is within easy walking distance of the old part of town (most restaurants, etc). It is impeccably clean with high-end fixtures in the bathroom and shower. We were part of a group that was spread over several hotels in Limoges and those of us staying at the Best Western felt we had picked the winner. (Others are either too spartan, like the B&B...or too far out of the way so that you can't walk to restaurants at night.) There is a supermarket right next door which was very convenient. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. Highly recommend. (The ONE annoying thing was the way they set up the free Wifi, with a highly customized password of random numbers and letters you could not memorize and which had to be reconnected every day and every time you re-entered hotel. Still, would definitely stay here again.)

"Perfect location and great staff"
Woolleg, 21 Octobre 2015

Absolutely perfect location for a long weekend exploring Limoges, just walking distance from shops, restaurants, sights and the river. Front desk staff were so attentive and ridiculously patient with my poor French, never once interrupting or anticipating where I was trying to go with my questions. First class recommendation of La Cheverny too by Carol who always seemed to be working. Great hotel room too which felt and looked like it had been cleaned and tidied several times a day.

"Excellent hotel, good stopping off place on way to South"
Susan H H, 21 Octobre 2015

This is definitely worth the money - excellent rooms, secure parking (although rather tight parking space, not easy to manoeuvre into), pleasant and helpful reception staff. Free Wifi was not fast but ok, about on a par with most French hotels we've visited. Although the hotel has no restaurant (apart from breakfast, which was fine but unexceptional) the staff were very good about recommending restaurants to visit. Limoges is a good stopping off place going or coming from the South, and has an interesting cathedral with lovely gardens and a small historic part which is worth a visit. The Richelieu is well-placed to visit the centre of town, and easy to access from the Autoroute.

"Great hotel"
Diver2020, 07 Octobre 2015

We booked a suite for a one night stay whilst travelling back to the UK via Limoges Airport. The hotel was very easy to find and is a very short walking distance to the centre of Limoges. I booked one of the limited parking spaces in their garage. There is parking outside on the road but these spaces soon fill up even on a Sunday. The reception staff were great. Our room wasn't ready so we sat in the small lounge and they brought us coffee whilst we had the short wait. The suite we had booked is on the top (6th) floor of a building at the rear of the hotel. There is a covered walk way to the main building so no worries in the rain. The suite was excellent. Very clean and a comfortable bed. It was just as described. As we arrived on a Sunday eating out is somewhat of a challenge. Very few restaurants are open. We had a room service meal at the hotel. They do not have a restaurant but can prepare microwave meals. They were okay, nothing special. We had to return them at first as they were not heated through. The staff were excellent. Very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was simple and a although not a great choice we were more than happy. If we're were to return to Limoges I certainly would stay at this hotel again.

"An enjoyable stop-over in Limoges"
Alan E, 01 Octobre 2015

We stayed only one night, primarily to avoid a 5 a.m. start from the cottage we were staying at near Aubusson, and to return the hire car in good time to check-in for the flight. As we're members of the Best Western Rewards scheme, it made sense to look for a Best Western, but we had no prior experience of this hotel and booked it via the Tourist Information Office in Mont Dore. We got a great welcome, and enjoyed the overnight stay, the room, the breakfast and the helpfulness of all members of staff. Pity it didn't have a full restaurant, as it's virtually impossible to eat when you want to in Limoges. After some hours travelling to Limoges, we wanted to eat around 5.30 p.m., only to find every restaurant in town closed until 7 or 7.30. Obviously, not the fault of this hotel, and not untypical of France, but it's a rule of the hotel that you don't bring food to your room so, as we were hungry, we had to buy snack food from a supermarket. Bit of a shame.

"Recommended for a stopover hotel in Limoges"
radiol, 24 Septembre 2015

Recently refurbished. We stayed in a superior room which was extremely comfortable, quiet and everything worked well. Lovely bathroom, excellent shower and heated towel rail. They even supplied two bottles of complimentary mineral water in the fridge. Very convenient for the city centre. They have a garage which costs €10 per night. There are only five spaces and some are quite tricky particularly if you have a large car. If you want to use it, I suggest you contact the hotel and reserve a space. Very convenient for the city centre. Breakfast was pretty good too. Would definitely recommend if visiting Limoges.

"lovely hotel in the perfect location"
Jeremy A, 22 Septembre 2015

We had a lovely stay. The room was super clean and very modern. They do accept pets. You do need to book carparking, which is not clear on the web site...they did accommodate us; but I would hate to leave my shiny new car in the street.

"How to renovate a hotel properly"
Alan K, 13 Septembre 2015

It would be difficult to praise this hotel too much. Externally it is an old building internally it is a modern well appointed hotel located near to all the amenities of the city centre. The room we had was very well appointed, very comfortable with a excellent en-suite bathroom. Breakfast was very good and the staff were very attentive without being obtrusive. It does not have a restaurant but it is very close to the city centre amenities. The hotel receptionist recommended some very good restaurants for the 2 nights we stayed. If we ever visit this city again we would certainly stay at this hotel.

"Would stay again"
Mikadee, 07 Septembre 2015

Spent an unplanned stop here on our way down to the south of France and so glad we chose here. From the welcoming invite to the lovely decor in the rooms and secure parking (we were camping so car was fully packed) it ticked all the boxes for us - parking was extra at €12 but next morning we returned to lovely clean windows on our car. Thoughtful little extra. I guess there is always room for improvement and our comment here would be that the tea and coffee making facilities (which are a bonus in France!) were placed a little high - they were on a shelf around chest height, plus the mugs didn't have handles so potentially a little danger zone. There was a desk in the room so they would have been better placed there (but probably not if you were a business traveller). We liked the fridge and complimentary water, again all nice little touches. Shower was walk in, powerful and with jets - very welcoming and invigorating after a day on the road. Location is handy for the centre and we had a lovely stroll down the famous butcher street. Would recommend this hotel to a friend.

"Great location & value"
Kevin R, 01 Septembre 2015

Last night stay with great location in city centre before early flight from Limoges airport only 15 mins away. Scorching hot day but large, very well furnished family room with air con, wi fi, fridge provided a great base to explore Limoges. Booked a parking space in the garage off road was worth the small fee.

"First Class"
noworkski, 29 Août 2015

Stayed here for one night in August 2015 whilst travelling down to stay with friends at Carcassonne. Staff extremely helpful, rooms excellent, no noise and really close to the Old Town and a great restaurant just 50M away (Le Cheverny) on the same street. Would recommend this place to anyone and don't miss the breakfast really good value for money and the food was good and freshly cooked.

"Excellent city centre hotel."
ifand, 21 Août 2015

On a street just 5 min walk to old town. Small parking garage chargeable at 10€. Added bonus that windscreen had been washed overnight! Had a suite on the 6th floor. Everything you would expect and more. Nice shower, not very powerful but the jacuzzi made up for it. Huge, extremely comfortable bed. Excellent free wifi and aircon. Breakfast was 14€. A good choice including scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon. All the cereals, pastries etc that you would expect. Very pleasant and helpful reception. If I'm ever visiting Limoges again will not look any further.

"Excellent hotel"
Ian14_11, 20 Août 2015

We stopped here on our way back north to Calais, booked through bookings.com. On arrival you have to get the staff to open the car park, and on-street it is difficult to park, so it helps if there is more than one of you! The car park is very secure, good if you have a car full of stuff as we did. The room is very nice, recently refurbished. The bathroom is also good, everything works! One slight downside is that they have soap/shower gel dispensers, rather than proper soap and small bottles. But this is not enough to lose a star. The bed is very comfortable with proper pillows! It is very quiet (we were on the fourth floor in the new annexe). The air conditioning works well. There are some small but good public spaces. We did no have breakfast at 14 euros each, so I cannot comment on the food. There is no restaurant in the hotel, but Limoges is on your doorstep! The staff were very friendly, recommended some places to go, and to eat, but we did not have much interaction with them in all honesty. This is not a five star hotel, but certainly worth 5 stars from me! If you plan to stop in Limoges, this is a very good option.

"Hotel Richelieu limoges"
Tish L, 13 Août 2015

Stayed here for two nights and it was absolutely excellent. The staff were so nice and helpful. I can't compliment them enough. The express breakfast was very nice and it was plenty if you don't want a big breakfast. The rooms were spotless and comfortable. There was complimentary water in the room and tea and coffee making facilities. There is also a gorgeous restaurant across the road, Le Cheverney. Fabulous hotel. Would love to go back.

"Clean room with good air conditioning"
peter w, 13 Août 2015

Close to the train station, handy for the trams and the metro. Desk staff very pleasant, rooms are clean and the air con is good. Bit of train noise, but too tired to care. Suggest you take earplugs if things like that bother you. Main selling point is proximity to TGV when in transit. Nowhere decent to eat nearby. The famed, Le Danton, was closed when we were there which was a shame for us - however it is a quick and cheap tram ride to Lyon Centre. Lots of beggars at the station, so change needed or the phrase 'non merci' depending on your point of view.

"Excellent place to stay - highly recommended"
mrscherylsalmon, 11 Août 2015

The room was very comfortable, even for the dog, parking was secure, staff were delightful and it was a.n excellent breakfast (fancy tea bags in the little fabric bags, freshly cooked pancakes). The whole experience was better than many 5* places we've stayed. We will definitely stay again.

"Excellent location - Modernised Hotel"
wintim, 08 Juin 2015

Well positioned for visiting Limoges - just 5 minutes walk to historic centre. Very modern hotel rebuilt in an older building in 2014. We had a First floor room at the back - extremely quiet. Used the secure on-site parking - cost 10 Euro's though free on street parking nearby.

"Good location"
JWeanie, 09 Août 2014

Excellent location with excellent restaurant just across the road. Hotel has been renovated to good standard despite the shower head not working in our room. Room was a bit small but OK for a stop-over.
