Great location to explore Krakow. Worth reserving car park space in advance if required. Staff very helpful, they were happy to recommended walking route around the old town. Found rooms clean. Large bed was two separate mattresses stitched together but were comfortable. Good value for money.
The hotel is very clean. When the cleaner does the room it smells amazing. The food for breakfast is incredible. It wasn't overly busy when we went so easy to get around. The welcome was quick and easy and you are very local to the centre of Krakow. The only downside to this hotel is the WiFi is absolutely rubbish. “High speed” is not what it is. Couldn't connect in our room and whenever it did it kept going off.
The hotel is situated at a very convenient location to the historic center. The check in and out speed is efficient. Free WiFi increases satisfaction. The room is small but clean. Sleep comfort is fine for the ones facing backyard. I suggest for short occasions.
This is an older hotel but in excellent condition. It is a great location with all of the Krakow center core walkable from this hotel. Excellent restaurants nearby and everything in good working order. Be aware that this hotel has 5 floors with elevator stops on floors 1, 3 and 4 but to get to the 3rd floor you stop on 2 and walk up a short flight of stairs. This is not a big problem unless you find stairs difficult. The staff were outstanding in every way. We were 2 senior couples Loved our stay.
Could not fault this hotel and staff at all. The rooms and hotel in general were spotless. We stayed in a Superior room which was more than adequate for two people. Shower was great. Beds really comfy. My husband had to ask for an extra pillow which was supplied immediately. I contacted the hotel before arrival and they arranged airport pick up. The driver was there waiting for us and very friendly. Think his name was Stanislav. He was so helpful we asked for him to do our return journey to the airport. The cost was 130zloty each way. The hotel also booked Auschwitz tours for us which was great and very efficient. The hotel also booked a local restaurant for us Kilamty Ploudnia as I couldn't book this from home. The hotel is no more than 10 min walk into the Old Town Square through the park. We had a late flight and luggage storage was no problem. We had a room at the back of the hotel, no view but very quiet as trams go by the front of the hotel frequently. Breakfast was more than adequate. We had no problem getting a table for 4 and we ate about 8.30. Would definitely stay here again if we return. We arrived around 9.30pm and walked into the square and struggled a bit to find a restaurant still serving food at 10pm. Definitely recommend this hotel. Our only very minor criticism is that the safe is at the very bottom of the wardrobe and you have to kneel on the floor to access it. Thanks you to all the staff for their help.
Lovely hotel. Nice and clean. Staff were lovely and super helpful. Plenty of choice for breakfast, hot and cold. Very near the market square and everything else you need, all within walking distance. Hotel is quite quirky in design but we loved it.
Stayed just one night as we missed our first night due to cancelled flights. Room was very clean, great location close to the square, staff were super helpful and managed to book us on a last minute Auschwitz tour. Very yummy breakfast with lots of options.
This establishment is a superb hotel in a fantastic location. It is very close to the Central Square, the Jewish quarter and the Castle. It is extremely clean and well cared for. Unfortunately it is not disabled friendly as there a some steep steps to nter the establishment. Also the lift will take you to the 1st, 3rd and 4th floor but not to the 2nd. The brekfast is good and varied with lots of local produce.
Lovely hotel near the old town square. Nice rooms, friendly staff, and good breakfast. Within easy walking distance to the square. Good little supermarket next door, and lots of restaurants. We were lucky to have beautiful weather. Have a good look around the cloth hall.
The hotel is superbly located for a city break in Krakow. Ten minutes from the most visited areas and 15 mins from Jewish sector , 25 mins to Schindlers by foot. The hotel is immaculate and our room was an excellent size for a couple and no issues whatsoever. Breakfast had an excellent choice for every nationality and they also catered for Gluten free which is virtually unheard of in Poland. We had an evening meal, again Gluten free which was very tasty and enjoyable. There is two best westerns in Krakow, remember this address because our first taxi driver did not know where it was. There is a supermarket two doors down from the hotel . If you need Gluten free food or restrictive diet it's virtually impossible to find anything, believe me we tried .
Great stay in hotel. Breakfast great, always something to eat. Given a 4 rating as it's a 3 star hotel. That's the only reason. Staff lovely and very helpful
Hotel is ideally located within walking distance of both the Old Town and the Jewish Quarter. The rooms are clean and comfortable and are cleaned daily. The breakfast is buffet style but there is plenty of choice. I would highly recommend this hotel for your city break in Krakow
Stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and found the location to be ideal, close to both the old town and the Jewish quarter. Our room was a good size as well, comfortable bed, good air conditioning and shower. Plenty of breakfast options available as well and covered everything we were looking for with lots of hot and cold food options. We arranged a transfer through the hotel to be picked up at the airport and then verbally arranged with the driver to pick us up for the return journey as he turned out he works for the hotel. He was very friendly and would say hello to us most mornings when we came down for breakfast. I would recommend getting this transfer as it's so handy and the driver is very polite. I'd stay at this hotel again if I returned to Krakow.
Arrived quite late on a Thursday night a group of 16 well behaved slight more nature blokes on a stag. Booked in very quickly and our twin room was fine. Clean, not massive but adequate, bathroom modern very powerful shower, iron, ironing board , wardrobe with hangers . Air conditioning/ heater worked very well. Beds were very comfortable and slept really well.Very jazzy design throughout the hotel. Staff are friendly enough. Small bar and area you can sit outside. All inclusive breakfast 7:00-10:00 I thought the choice of food was excellent, no bacon, but everything else you would want, eggs, toast, beans, mushrooms, cereals coffee tea. Plus all the continental breakfast choices. Hotel positioned well for tourist attractions whole area is pretty flat so walking is fine. Would definitely stay here on any further trips to Krakow
Spent a long weekend here at the end of March. Chose this hotel as close to the main square approximately 5-10 mins at the most. Room booked was premium twin and located at the front of the hotel (opposite the park). Room and bathroom very clean. We found it hard to sleep though as the trams constantly went past into the early hours and were extremely loud. Breakfast included, buffet style. Usual teas, coffees, juices, breads, toaster, fruit, salads and cold meats, cheeses, cereals, warm offerings included sausages, eggs, pasta, waffles and beans. There was a small bar seating for approx 10-12 , the bar itself was well stocked though. There were seating area just off the reception too. Location ideal for main square etc.
We had a lovely stay at this hotel. It has an excellent location to walk to all the sights. The staff are friendly and very helpful. They gave us a breakfast bag to take with us on an early morning trip to Auschwitz which was very nice. Clean room and good breakfast. This hotel should be rated as 4 star not 3! I would highly recommend.
Nice hotel in a good location. Tram stops nearby. Only 5 min walk to the old town. Rooms are decorated in a modern style with a music theme. Our spacious room was on the side of the courtyard and at the end of several stairs. Breakfast was ok with some hot and cold varietes.
Hotel in good location but that's where it ends for the good points, we booked a premium double room but the description is misleading, the room we got on 4th floor was tiny, a very small double bed was in the room with 2 sets of single covers, we had to negotiate who would go to bathroom first because there literally was not enough room for 2 people to move around in our tiny room. It was so bad we even asked to upgrade but unfortunately we were told there wasn't any available - none of the website pictures looked like our room
Stayed for 4 nights for wedding anniversary. Initially given a twin room but staff very kindly and efficiently changed to a double. Location is perfect. Walk in 5 minutes to Old Square, 10 mins to Kazimierz, 5 minutes to Wawel Castle and 10 to Main train station. Rooms very comfortable and super bed and amazing shower. Very impressed with standards of maid service and reception staff. Good polish buffet breakfast which we didn't use everyday as an awesome patisserie just around the corner we couldn't resist. We used Bolt for transfer from airport £8 each way.
location excellent 5 minute walk from old town and all the bars restaruants , hotel was spotless , we were on 4th floor at back as was told the trams run all night at the front and would be quieter( only spoiled on last night by a couple of spangles in room 420 having a drunk domestic at 1 am not the hotels fault I may add) breakfast was top notch plenty choice , we also ate in the bar as we arrived at 9 pm burger was one of the best ive had wife had a polish chicken dish which she said was very good , all in all would recommend and would certainly use again
Currently staying for a week in this hotel ,stayed here on several occasions over the years, always had a good stay and so it proved on our latest stay. Allocated room 102 on 1st floor, room spacious, beds comfortable, lots of storage space ,flat screen tv with English channels, tea & coffee making facilities, breakfast included in our stay which is superb, lots of choice hot and cold offerings, bar in hotel cool and location could not be better ,we are here from the 5th of February till the 12th of February, really enjoying our stay here ,if you're planning a holiday to Krakow I highly recommend you check out this great hotel.
The Best Western Plus Kraków Old Town on Ul.Świętej Gertrudy is without doubt one of the best hotels we have stayed in.This hotel is in an ideal area and this is our 4th visit to here and as usual this superb hotel was as good as ever. From the reception staff who where superb and all the other staff who where excellent and made our stay a great experience. We stayed here for a 7 day's and the room we were allocated (102) was first rate from the beds to the bathroom and you couldn't ask for a better room. We had bed&breakfast and the breakfasts that they offered where superb and varied and well worth having. All in all a very good hotel in a superb area and a hotel me and my twin brother will stay in again.(This is my second review of Best Western Plus Kraków Old Town). Public Transport. Tram Stop. Św.Gertrudy Tram Stop-01-03-04-05-08-10-13-14-18-19-20-24-50-64-69-72.
Well located just quiet enough. Rooms were very basic with thin quilts. The room had air conditioning. Breakfast was included and a very good spread it was. Bacon was missing and sausages were not like English pork. Plenty of fruit etc. The bar was well stocked and service was good.
I highly recommend this hotel. Not only is it walking distance from the train station, but it's very convenient to plenty of tourist attractions. The breakfast buffet is amazing. I will definitely stay here again.
Fantastic room. Close to all the amenities and lovely stay. Would return here. Staff were great and room was fabulous. Only a 2 minute walk from the hotel and loads of restaurants on the doorstop. Highly recommend.
Really well located, close to Jewish quarter and old town. The room was very big (superior twin) but they seemed smaller than a standard single. They were comfortable though. I asked the reception for extra pillows and they were quickly delivered which was nice. There was a room to leave luggage as we had a late flight. For me the breakfast wasn't great unfortunately which is the only reason I didn't give 5 stars. Still it's so well located it's not an issue to get breakfast elsewhere! I would recommend family/friends to stay here and if I return to krakow I will stay here again.
Great hotel location, provided great access to the old town and the Jewish quarters. very helpful staff, room very adequate and clean and the breakfast was plentiful which was included with lots of choice.
We came to stay 23rd -26th September it was me and my partner. We got to the hotel late around 11pm and on arrival we had a warm welcome, the room was big, clean, bright with fresh water aswell as tea & coffe equipment. We booked salt mine and Auschwitz through the hotel (cash only) we had private transportation, from the hotel driver came in hotel to direct us to the car, all very nice and welcoming. The main square restaurant and shop was 2min walk from the hotel, tram stop for both directions was also right outside hotel. We had the most amazing time and already looking to come back next year.
We stayed for four nights, the hotel is clean, comfortable and in an excellent location. A short walk to both the Jewish Quarter and the Main Square. Lovely bars and restaurants close by, 15 minute walk from the train/bus station. The hotel offers a very good buffet style breakfast, an excellent bar and comfortable rooms.
Great location close to the old town (only a couple of minutes walk away). Rooms were clean, although a little on the small side, however when you are out exploring all day this isn't really an issue. Breakfast is good with a nice selection and staff we encountered were all helpful and friendly.
The reception was lukewarm. There was not much customer service here, no warm welcome nor goodbye. It was quite a challenge to get simple items, like ice, for an injury. The hallways reeked of smoke, not the room however. The breakfast was plentiful and tasty, and the location is fantastic. It's really not much so have no expectations. They can arrange a taxi to the airport, however the Uber App charges almost half the price.
Highly recommend this lovely hotel. Clean, spacious rooms. Excellent and helpful service. Location very handy and everything we needed was at the hotel. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Maybe take your own pillow if you need a bit of firmness.
Nice staff, good food in breakfast, fine rooms. Helpful staff if we asked, speaked well English. Location is top in Krakow. Short walk to Old Town. Great valuf of your money. I will reccommend it for couples to stay in Krakow.
I travelled with my husband and another couple, this is my fourth visit to krakow but our first time staying here. We decided on here because we had a very late check in and a late flight home, we knew there was 24 hour reception and somewhere to leave our luggage safely on our last day. The rooms were very clean, we had lots of room and plenty of space for our clothes, the bathroom was again roomy, with a great shower with shower gel, plenty of toilet paper, hand wash and cream. Good sized bath towels, beds with comfortable and air conditioning worked perfectly, there is a little fridge you can use in the room and also a safe. The rooms cleaned daily and efficiently , clean towels if we wanted them. Breakfasts were very good, all help yourself, 2 hot drink machines, if you wanted a mug of coffee just press the button twice, or if a cup was enough just press once , I love food so although they had the hot food, sausages etc, I tried a lot from the polish section for breakfast, I loved the bread, cheese and breakfast salad, the granola and yogurts also good, hubby usually had just a dish of cereal, sausage, baked beans and egg, sometimes there was bacon, there were lots of little cakes and fresh fruit, We used the bar nearly every night after a day out, the staff were fantastic, 2 bar men, again polite, happy, great service and drinks, reception staff also fantastic, cleaners always with a smile. The destination is also great, on our last day we had a walk all the way round the green (the only little break is by the castle but just get back on it to walk back to next bit, it takes minutes to get to the square, I love krakow and although I've seen most things there now I will probably visit one last time, if I do this is the hotel I will use again, it's been the best yet, Thank you to all the staff at this lovely hotel,
When first entering the rather ugly lobby I was rather worried that I had booked a horrible hotel. But my first impression was totally wrong. The room was nice and very clean, and the view towards the old town with the leafy Planty park right in front of our window was lovely. Breakfast was extraordinary for a 3 star hotel, not only was there a lot to choose from, it was also always fresh. The kitchen constantly sent out small plates of food. Even the scrambled eggs were always hot and freshly made - something that even five-star hotels rarely manage to offer. The location could not be better. You cross the street and you are in the old town. At the same time the Jewish quarter with all its charming restaurants is within walking distance or just 2 tram stops away for those who prefer not to walk. And the tram stop is right in front of the hotel.
Staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was delicious, plenty of choice. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Only a couple of minutes walk to main square. On other side room was very small and staff is lacking of knowledge.
Really good 3* Hotel with pleasant and very helpful staff and perfectly located between the Old Town and the Jewish Quarter. We arrived about 2 hours before the check-in time and our rooms were ready. Air-con worked perfectly. The small fridge was perfectly adequate. there was a safe which we didn't use and the bed was really comfortable. Room was bright and wifi worked perfectly in all parts of the hotel. The choice of food on the breakfast buffet was comprehensive from juices, cooked meats, cereals, pickles, pate, various breads, eggs boiled, scrambled and fried, sausages and yes there was always plenty of bacon. We found the barman Maciej very helpful and friendly and typical of the BW staff. If I am in Krackow again I will have no hesitation in staying here again.
Had a fabulous trip to Krakow, beautiful city. The hotel was lovely, super clean and great breakfast with something for everyone. Only small issue was the heat in the room, it was stifling hot even with air con on, lowest temperature it would get to was 18 degrees and I am sure it wasn't working correctly. The window also wouldn't stay open to try and let in some fresh air. Room cleaned every day. All staff were very pleasant, we even managed to get an early check in which was great. I would definitely stay here again however I would bring a fan or make sure the air con was working correctly. Thanks for a fabulous stay in a wonderful city.
Loved this Hotel. Stayed Monday to Friday. Besroom was cleaned every single day. Breakfast had a great choice every morning. Hotel was spotless and was withing walking distance of everywhere. Staff were so nice as well. Will.deffo be back.
Lovely Hotel, Great Staff & Excellent Location. Would Highly Recommend. Hotel Decor Bright & Modern, Rooms have everything you need, Hairdryer, Iron, Kettle & Safe, Beds really comfortable Staff very friendly & helpful , we booked a day tour & our airport transfer through reception, Location is perfect, only a couple of minutes walk into the square , full of restaurants & bars.
This hotel has been recently refurbished and it is great. Rooms were spotless, staff were lovely, breakfast had a good selection. The bar area was nice, we couldn't fault anything. Also only 5 minutes from main square so a perfect location.
Just returned from staying at best western plus very good hotel . Staff all very efficient. Hotel rooms kept spotless by staff. Location just outside of square ideal for everywhere you want to go. Hope to visit again soon. Would recommend this as a great place to stay in krakow.
I would t stay anywhere else in Krakow. E room service is refreshing and thoughtful breakfast varied , friendly attitude by all the staff, and location 5 minutes walk from the main old town square is second to none
This hotel was a great location only a few minutes from main square and shops. It was very clean and modern. There was only two faults I found one being the staff not very friendly especially the young girl with dark hair and a pony tail very rude ignored guests bumped into me once and never said sorry walked away when guest were asking her a question and when she had nothing to do just leaned on the back wall. Another thing was the bar hours were 14.00pm until 22.00pm we went down one day at 14.15pm bar was closed the lady on reception tried to find the person running the bar and could not find him tried ringing on phone but nothing. Then when we went down at 21.45pm for a night cap bar was closed again lady on reception could not understand why. The breakfast was good and bed were very comfortable and rooms were a nice size .The public transport ran outside hotel every few minutes would stay again but staff needs to cheer up a bit.
The hotel is nice and clean. Rooms cleaned daily. Great location, walking distance to market square. Only problem is the breakfast and the staff in the restaurant- it would be nice if they at least said morning and kept the food & drinks machine topped up. Hit and miss with some of the food, eggs usually fried but like rubber, been here 4 nights and had to ask for eggs, yogurts & machine to be filled, get told in a minute and waited at least 15mins for more eggs!!!! One of the young staff just grunts at you.
Location is great ! Walking distance to most attractions and an easy walk from the main station . Receptionist let us check in early as our room was ready so that was great ! Room was very small however it had everything you need for a 1 night stay! Breakfast was just ok we had stayed in a best western in Katowice the night before and the breakfast was outstanding there this one was disappointing compared ! . Overall good stay and would use again if visiting
It's a nice hotel located in the heart of Kraków old The rooms are not bad but the twin beds are single beds. It's complicated for handicaps as there is no elevator in each floor breakfast were wonderful very rich stuff is nice hotel is very clean.
Excellent location modern hotel near all attractions main square, Jewish quarter and lovely planty park and old town Plenty of trams to hop on and off or just walk and enjoy the exercise and you find places you don't expect Plenty of trips available best to pre book we used Get your Guide Lovely restaurants around locally And food really nice Breakfast in hotel fine if you go early as busier later on
Currently staying at Best Western Plus, staying on 2nd Floor, you have to get the lift to the third floor and walk down stairs to get to the 2nd floor. Our room faces the back of the hotel which doesn't have a very good view. Room smaller than expected but has high ceilings so appears bigger. First night never slept well as bed too small! Was made up with one pillow and a small duvet, approached reception and got extra pillows and another duvet but this doesn't alter the fact of the size of the bed. Because of this we don't think we would return to this hotel.
A disappointment, the room (superior) is smaller than expected. Much noise from traffic and tram, hard to sleep. Breakfast was horrible and we could not eat it. Dry bread and small amount of eatable food. Belgian waffles hard as stone (old). The only thing we could eat was boiled egg and croissants. Had to eat on another place so buying breakfast was a waste of money. Cleaning is good.
Great location & clean hotel just 3-5 minutes of main Krakow Square and 10 minutes from the very trendy Jewish quarter . Room is light and has a high ceiling. Bed comfortable, shower on the small side ( hence not higher rating ). But for the money it's difficult to find a better located hotel .
The Best Western Plus has no negatives at all! It's in the perfect location for everywhere, you can walk within minutes to the main square, the castle, the river, Jewish Quarter, everywhere! The hotel itself is lovely, spotlessly clean and the breakfast is great - plenty of variety for all tastes and all fresh. The rooms are lovely too, although we had 3 rooms and all were very different in size even though all were booked as premium rooms. But, they were all good rooms again, very clean and refreshed by housekeeping every day. If I returned to Krakow I would definitely stay here again.
Hotel very clean. Nothing was too much trouble. Brilliant location able to walk to all the main sites. . Breakfast included even provided when we were out too early for dining room . Staff all very helpful and polite.room cleaned daily and very comfortable.
In Krakow for a five night stay to celebrate my sister in law's 60th birthday my twin brother Stephen and I chose Best Western Plus Krakow Old Town as our hotel ,this is the only hotel I will stay in ,stopped here on our last four visits to this beautiful city. We were greeted with a smile by the reception team, checked in immediately and allocated a twin room, room 412, the room was spotlessly clean, flat screen tv,fridge ,tea and coffee making facilities ,lots of storage space and two very comfortable beds ,breakfast was really good ,a good variety of offerings ,I loved the scrambled eggs and cheese ,staff in the hotel were really nice ,made our latest stay here memorable ,location wise it couldn't be better, lots of the main tourist sites within easy walking distance and great transport links outside of hotel,I loved the trams in Krakow and there's a stop outside the hotel facing the famous park, had a great stay here and when I'm back in Krakow hopefully very soon this is the only hotel I will stay in ,if you're planning on visiting Krakow this hotel is ideal.
My husband and I spent three nights here and would highly recommend it. It is located near to the main square, the breakfast was wonderful and the breakfast was excellent with a large choice of foods. The little bar was a very nice place for a nightcap. Great value for money. All staff were friendly and welcoming.
This hotel is located in an excellent area of Kraków and is the ideal location to explore this fabulous city.Best Western Plus Kraków Old Town on Świętej Gertrudy is a fantastic hotel that is housed in a period building. We have stayed at this excellent hotel four times as there rooms are very modern and well kept and the breakfast is excellent. We visited here early in June and it was a very warm week. We were allocated room 412 which offers a superb view of the park. The room was very well maintained with nice decor. There was a fridge and TV and two comfortable beds and there was tea and coffee amenities. Our stay was superb and when we visit this superb city again we will stay in this superb hotel.Really easy to locate as there's a bus and tram stop over the road. (This is my first review of Best Western Plus Kraków Old Town. Public Transport. Bus Stop. Świętej Gertrudy bus stop. Tram Stop. Świętej Gertrudy tram stop.
We were originally booked to go to the Regent Hotel but unfortunately it was closed so we were transferred to there sister hotel Best Western. Lovely modern hotel good sized double room. Great shower. Fridge and safety deposit safe. Breakfast was adequate with cereals fruit and hot options always enough choice to set you up for the day. Only 6minutes walk to the square. This was our second visit to Krakow and would highly recommend this hotel.b
I cannot rate highly enough the staff of this hotel helped me to collect my Ukrainian guests. They arranged car and driver to collect me, thank you Marek, made us all feel welcome. Arranged a picnic breakfast and car back to the airport all with lovely manners and made our trip so good! Anna the reception manager was exceptional and I really can't thank all the staff. Breakfast was superb, the room so clean and wish I could give them a 5 + star rating! Thank you all
The Hotel is close to the main square and tram stop is just outside the main entrance. Breakfast is good with everything to suit all tastes. Check in staff are helpful and can arrange trips to most of the attractions. I would have given 5 stars however the room we had was to the front of the hotel which means trams and other traffic can be heard late at night and very early morning so sleep will be disrupted. All in all I would recommend the hotel and would stay if visiting Krakow again but ask for for a rear facing room.
Hotel Room was clean and somewhat small. Breakfast was average and almost 1h before closing some items were not replaced/refilled. Good option if you want to stay near to the old town and just use it for sleeping.
Bright modern hotel, great breakfast lots of choice.small bar area which we used a couple of times while waiting fro friends to come down.just a 5 min walk to the main square.tram stops just over the road.room was spotless as was everywhere in the hotel.would definitely recommend and return.
Close to the main square. Everything you need in walking distance. We throughly enjoyed our stay here. Staff very responsive to requests. Breakfast basic but we never left hungry. Would definitely book here again. Thanks to everybody that made our stay warm and welcoming.
1st time in Krakow, and staying at the best weston which is great for all types of people, families, couples, singles and more, you are just a 5-10 min walk away to the Square. Staff are friendly and room are nice and tidy. Breakfast is basic but you expect that here, there is cereal, toast as well as the normally continental items
Great location just off the main square in the Old Town with some lovely restaurants and bars just moments away. Decent bright well equipped rooms. Amazing a very plentiful breakfast! friendly staff. Would love to return.
Perfect location for a city break. Rooms are very spacious comfortable and clean with plenty of hot water for showers. Staff were very helpful with excursions and help with taxi back to the airport. Breakfast basic but plenty of choice, great coffee! Would recommend and definitely stay here again.
Location is perfect on this hotel. One way you have the Old Town 5 min walk away - the opposite way Jewish Quater around 15 minutes. We stayed in room 203 which seems to have issues with water running down the pipes above as thats all we could hear all throughout the night which kept waking us. I know the staff would have moved our room had I reported this but I had just inpacked and wasnt too fussed for the sake of a few days but definately needs looked at. Staff were so friendly and helpful - I emailed our boarding pases and UK Locator forms to them and they immediately printed them out for us. Tram stop right outside of the hotel which is located around a 45 minute drive from the airport if not less. Would definately stay here again when we return which we will! Just not room 203 Breakfast the usual Continental standards, no bacon and hot dog/smokey sausage. eggs In my opinion a tad undercooked and no pastries. I know us Brits do love a full english and cities rarely provide this but a few pastries would have knocked the rating up quite alot :-)
This was my second visit to this hotel (13th-17th Dec 21) and it did not disappoint. It is situated within walking distance of the main square but far enough away to be quiet. The rooms are lovely and clean and have a free to use safe, hairdryer, small fridge and iron/ironing board. We asked for another couple of pillows and they were at our door in no time. The breakfast was very good with a lot to choose from. When travelling to Krakow I would not stay anywhere else.
We were very pleasantly surprised by the hotel. Good position between Main town square and Jewish quarter. Reception help with organising taxis from airport on arrival and departure, booking us trips, helping us sort out the covid testing.
Stay from 6th to 10th December!really nice place, well located near to the old city ,near to the castle and the reception really nice with us!a special mention to the driver Marek who took us to Zakopane to the airport to other sightseeing without any stress!,a good driver a good person really nice and warm full! I will be back for sure !^^ Thanks a lot to everyone!this hotel is really clean, the breakfast nothing to say !! Room clean, bathroom too and calm place ^^thanks a lot to everyone !do not hesitate you will be impressed and enjoy your stay ! Soraya
My first time in Krakow and this hotel was an excellent choice, short walk too the main square. The room was clean and modern, loved the styling. Breakfast was ok, quite a good choice, only let down was the bar was closed on the days i was there, but plenty of pubs and restaurants in the and around the main square and a small supermarket next door. Would definetley stay here again.
I highly recommend this hotel. We stayed again this weekend and it's a great place to stay. Extremely well located to walk to any neighbourhood that interests you in Krakow. The rooms are clean and comfortable. There is paid parking available at the hotel, which is not always the case in Krakow. And the staff is amazing. The front desk staff is always delightful at any time of day - friendly, professional. The housekeeping staff does a great job and the room was very clean.. The breakfast staff is attentive and helpful and they ensure a good variety of cold and hot food options. Try the fresh juice as it's delicious. We'll definitely be staying here again.
Myself and some friends stayed in this establishment mid February whilst we visited Kraków for one member of our party's birthday. Having never been to Kraków nor Poland before all we desired was to have a nice hotel close to the centre. The location is pretty much bang on. It's around 5 minutes walk if that to the central square (10/15 if your staggering) and around 20 from the train station, though we had stopped in a boozer on the way and was already fairly scaly wagged by the time we'd checked in so I may need correcting. None the less it's a prime spot. The staff were all very polite and helpful as far as directions and recommendations, the few we spoke to commanded the English language very well. Now the room I must admit is somewhat small and basic, granted if it was a one night stay I wouldn't have been fussed but it was rather cramped due to the friend who was also staying that room being a fairly big bloke. The single beds are also quite small and the duvet is wrapped that tightly under the mattress one would need 2 Crow bars, Mark Henry and a length of pipe as leverage to try get it out. Had I been Rey Mysterio I wouldn't have been too fussed but unfortunately I am 6'1 and my feet being off the end of the mattress isn't my idea of a good kip. The breakfast is fairly bogo. I myself didn't mind it however the rest of the party wasn't too keen. Whether that's me eating like a pig or them being fussy I'm not too sure but hey ho. One thing which isn't necessarily the hotels fault is that the walls are kinda thin and there seemed to be a few lads coming and going pretty hammered at all times at night very loudly. At one point I unfortunately witnessed an Asian looking fellow running through the corridor not even in his skivvies. Whether this was dealt with accordingly I don't know but even to me in my state at that particular moment it was a bit odd. None the less it wasn't a bad stay, you get what you pay much like a wwe ppv so one can't complain and like a wwe ppv if I have to I'd probably go back.
The location of this hotel is what makes it excellent. It is a 5 minute walk to the centre of the old town where a lot of the main sites are as well as best restaurants. The breakfast on offer was very good and thorough. The rooms were very clean and modern as well as the rest of the hotel. For the most part, the hotel staff were helpful and pleasant. The rooms are very small, I paid extra for a premium room. I dread to think how small the non-premium rooms were. The bar in the hotel is small and not very nice, not to mention not even staffed. The transfer rate to the airport is something to be avoided, as Uber is half the price.
Just a few minutes' walk to the enormous town square, including shops, restaurants, and horse-and-carriage rides. Twenty paces to a grocery store, too. About 18-minute walk from Krakow Glowny train station, but there are cheap streetcars (trams) nearby. On my second night, a group of drunk seniors carried on loudly in the hall right outside my room, but overall my experience there was good. The buffet's seating is widely-spaced apart, which is great for germaphobes like me in a coronavirus time.
Our room ( 313) was excellent. Clean with a superb bathroom. The front desk staff were super-helpful. The Buffet Breakfast was plentiful and varied and thankfully did not feature grease-submerged bacon as is a feature of so many breakfast buffets. Could not have been better.
Amazing Helpful Staff...Our first visit to Poland and this Hotel was a very good choice...Central for ALL Attractions,Rooms spotlessly clean, toilets for the bar are immaculate.Breakfast excellent. We was 2 couples with 2 rooms and would definitely Recommend this Hotel.... Thank You Best Western.
Came back from a 4 night stay on 21st February. By coincidence- room 403- same as review below. Room was on small side even for one so two would be a squeeze. Perfectly clean. My only quibble- pillows too soft but that's a personal preference. Hospitality tray replenished daily. Breakfast was varied and plentiful. We had dinner one night. I had delicious tagliatelle, chicken in a creamy curry sauce. Pal had steak. We had restaurant to ourselves. Perfectly reasonable price. There's a small bar area. Hotel is in a great location. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Hope to return next year.
Just spent a 3 night city break at this hotel. Took our Jet 2 private transfer to the hotel with a very knowledgeable driver who pointed out various points along the way. Reception were friendly and efficient when checking in despite there being a queue of guests arriving at the same time. Disappointed at the smallest hotel room ever (403). We chose not to request a move as the room was at the back of the hotel and very quiet. Plus it was only 3 nights and we were only using it as a base. The entire hotel is extremely clean in all areas. We decided to visit Schindler's Factory but ran into difficulties whilst booking on the hotel computer. Bernadetta, the duty receptionist, was a great help going out of her way to assist us. Very comfortable bed and pillows! Super shower! Breakfast was both varied and delicious. When I asked about booking packed lunches for our tour, we were given boxes and lunch bags and told to help ourselves from the breakfast buffet with no charge! This hotel is a credit to the Best Western brand.
This is our 4th stay at this hotel and since my last visit it has had a superb refurbishment, the rooms are spotless, lovely comfy beds and bedding , excellent bathroom .The bar area is modern and trendy .The dining area also first class and the choice at breakfast is as good as any 5star hotel .The staff are so helpful an polite in all parts of the hotel .The location is also ideal within walking distance of all the local sights. We look forward to returning yet again to this superb value for money hotel .
I stayed at the Best Western Plus with my wife for a long weekend break in Feb 2020, with breakfast included. Location: very close, approx 5-10 min walk to the main square and approx 15-20 min walk to the Jewish Quarter, so is very centrally located and ideal for a short weekend. Check-in: Very simple, just required a form to be completed and were given our card keys. We checked in at about midday, so was a little early but no problem for the hotel. Rooms/Hotel: The rooms are very bright and modern with the typical room amenities such as hair dryer, iron and ironing board, tea and coffee etc. Our room was very small, a standard double bed with two single mattresses. Its was a squeeze and if i was spending a lot of time in the room, it would become an issue. The bathroom is again on the small side and the shower was a little difficult with myself being 6.2, but I managed and most of my time was spent in the city. The hotel is very clean and the maids charged and made up our room daily. Breakfast: Included in out rate and had a range of foods, hot and cold including egg, sausages cold meats breads and cereals, overall the quality was OK to good. I would say the replacing the hot items and bread at times was slow, especially when it was busy, so this could be improved. Check out - No problems at all, and there is a luggage store for you bags if you are flying in the afternoon/evening. *The hotel are also able to book transport to and from the airport at local rates, so would suggest doing this through them. We had no issues wit this and the drive is approx 15-25 mins away from Krakow airport. Overall a good stay and ideal for a city break were your not spending too much time in your room.
The hotel is in a good location.. a short walk to the Main Square, the staff were very welcoming and the rooms were clean. There is a big downside to this hotel though... the rooms are far too small, and when I say small I mean a real struggle to be comfortable in. For some reason the duvet was actually two single duvets on a double bed which was a bit of a nightmare to be honest. The breakfast was very average.. not an awful selection but nothing special either. We'll definitely be returning to Krakow as it was an amazing city but I'm afraid to say we would not return to this hotel.
Krakow is a Wow! Beautiful city. The Best western Plus Hotel was an excellent stay, very clean and comfortable room, Breakfast was amazing , so much choice! This hotel is situated not far from the main square which was ideal. Friendly helpful staff. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you Best Western Plus for our lovely stay in your beautiful city.
Had a really nice meal here last night. Very quiet restaurant with really helpful waiter who spoke excellent English and helped us with getting to know the area. Started Cob Salad with chicken bacon and feta cheese was a meal in its self, Crayfish soup was excellent this is one of my favourite starters and it was cooked to perfection. We both had tagliatelli with chicken and pineapple cooked in a creamy curry sauce so different. If im honest i would prefer the strips of tagliatelli to be thinner but the combination of flavours was really tasty One again thank you to the very helpful and informative waiter who looked after us
Brilliant, Trendy on point, modern, Clean as a whistle, Location fantastic all options of travel from hotel available easy to reach whithin walking distance for somethings, warm, rooms just what is needed, bathroom clean, fantastic hotel.
Overall happy with our stay however double rooms very small with limited space. Our flight was cancelled and we needed somewhere to stay quickly. It wasn't cheap and we needed 2 rooms but we were accommodated. Breakfast was reasonable depending on what time of the morning you arrived. I would stay there again
I visited be hotel to celebrate my 40th birthday and it was amazing from start to finish! The hotel is 5mins walk to the main square with everything you need to eat, drink and explore! It's also right next door to a supermarket which we bought alcohol , Waters and chocolates and kept them in the fridge in our room which was ideal. It modern and spotless and the staff all work so hard and very friendly nothing was a problem. When we arrived there was 2 gentleman on reception and straight away the room was ready and we where told about the bar and breakfast areas and WiFi codes and asked if we need anything else. The room was large and modern for 2 adults and a 4 year old we had lots of space. It was a special touch we had balloons and wine in the room for my birthday, this made my stay so special. We had amazing views and of the park at the front of the hotel and it was such a comfy sleep with soft pillows. The bar area is small but ideal for families and couples and prices are great and a big TV and music on. The breakfast area was large and very clean and hard working staff. Always hot food and lots of choice from full breakfast, lots of cereals, meats, yoghurts, toast , fresh bakes and fruit and definitely sets you up for the day. This was my second visit to Krakow and will be returning to this hotel. We loved the Christmas decorations and music and how modern and sleek the hotel was and the staff made our stay perfect thank you x
Came for 3 nights with my 15 year old daughter Couldn't fault this hotel in anything, location was perfect 5 mins in one direction to the square and 5 mins in other direction for castle. staff we're lovley and room was nice comfortable and spotless, enjoyed the breakfast plenty of choices. Hotel booked my tours for me which was great too. Really enjoyed Krakow beautiful city.
I have been told to avoid staying in an 'American hotel' when in Europe. BW Plus Krakow is the reason I will always try to remember this advice. Even when I checked in, the staff just didn't seem as hospitable as a One Star hotel in the States. There was an issue with my reservation and they said I need to find another hotel. I proceeded to get online and look. After a while, one of the staff came over to the waiting area and offered to try to find a hotel but she said the one next door was booked. I said thank you. I think they felt sorry for me because I had sprain my ankle the night before and limped like an old man. It was funny the way a couple of people on holiday asked if I was Ok, but the staff took their time to offer any assistance. I had found one when another older staffer yelled across the lobby, "Do you want to stay here?' Duh. Customer service is not lacking in this dump. Instead of limping out, i decided to take it, even though it was twice the price. When I asked about this price gauging, the older employee said ' we have to add 20 percent because it is our last room'. I am sure the employees of this place would shake down their mother and I paid more than 20 percent more. I got the smallest efficiency room I have ever had. All motel6 and super8 hotels are much preferable. The room was small and loud. The bathroom wasn't much bigger than one on an airline The free breakfast was the worst I had in poland. Tried to get some laundry done on the friday i arrived but the kid at the desk said it wouldn't be back until monday afternoon... after my flight left...chalk it up for bad weekend, i guess. The manager, Michael Wilkey, has some work to do with this place.
Excellent hotel. Very near Christmas Market. Close to a tram stop which was very convenient to transport us to Jewish quarter. Breakfast was of a very high standard including hot choices. Evening meal in restaurant was very good and value for monet
Great location very close to old town. Helpful staff. Good choice of food on breakfast buffet. Rooms small however very clean and decor good. Bar small. Quick and easy check in and out. Room warm and quiet as on back of hotel. Comfy beds and pillows
Very good location for exploring the city, near the Old Town and the castle, pretty quiet, nice neighborhood, ideal for two - three nights, friendly staff, rather poor breakfast, small rooms, value for money overall
As soon as this hotel was booked the staff contacted me to ask if I required any transfers from the airport which they organised, any questions I had they emailed a response back straight away. The staff also arranged a couple of trips for us when we arrived they were all very friendly and helpful. The hotel overall is very modern, light and airy, our room was clean with bottled water every day of our stay. The buffet breakfast which was included was excellent with a lot of variety to choose from. The location in the old town is good, just 5 minutes walk to the main square where there are lots of restaurants and bars, definitely would stay there again.
Enjoyed our stay. Positioned on a park with easy safe walk into the old town or to the river. Really enjoyed our stay in Krakow. Plenty if restaurants within walking distance. Hotel good and welcoming with a good buffet breakfast.
to say the rooms are small would be the right response had to upgrade to a little larger room the first day the location is perfect and very close to main square a park is across the street. dinner was the cheapest i have ever seen a 4 course meal with a drink for two is under 30 dollars! we visited the salt mine and you should too bring your walking shoes it takes 500 stairs to get to the bottom they do bring you up in a small lift. getting to krakow from prague is a little daunting tried for flights but you have to fly to amsterdam then warsaw then krakow we took a first class on a train for 7 hours very relaxing with club car drinks and dinner
The hotel was located just across the street from the old turn walls and very convenient. The breakfast was a great way to start the day with a larger variety of hot and cold foods. The bathroom was good sized, and amenities nice although the shower was a step up. The room itself was bright, had a comfortable bed, places to sit, a desk and ample storage. Unfortunately a small table always seemed to be in the way with no place what to put it. The elevator did not service the floors, you had to either go a floor up and walk a short staircase down or down and walk up. I would stay there again.
Nice, clean hotel within walking short distance of city square with many varieties of restaurants, shops and sights. Public transport right outside. Staff very helpful and make you feel welcome. Breakfast buffet also varied but not much vegan food.
Bernadetta and Rafael are wonderful employees. They go above and beyond to help you. They went out of their way to help me Also, helped get us a taxi when needed. The hotel is in a great location and the breakfast is also amazing. The location is also great. The sign outside is a little small so may be hard to see from the streets.
The rooms were not tiny i.e. plenty of room. Bath room could have been slightly bigger. Rooms were clean. Breakfast ok. If climbing the stairs is a problem, ask for a room at the same level as the lift.
Staff were incredibly nice and accommodating. Hotel was very clean. Breakfast, especially the coffee, was amazing. The only downsides to this hotel are that the beds are not the most comfortable. The mattress is a very firm foam, and single beds could use an extra pillow and a larger blanket. Also, the furniture in the room and in the hotel lounge, was not very comfortable.
We loved this location but a word of warning, the rooms are tiny if you are wanting to share. The shower is nested as a box inside the room so hence less room space. You literally had 30cm between bed and wall. Plus our shower was a corner one so small that heaven help anyone tall or weighty. And yes no lift between floors. It was a stark modern design trying too hard to be trendy. Breakfast ok but can be very busy with tourist groups. Very clean. But small.
This is an excellent hotel in cebtre of the City. Attentive helpful staff and comfortable well proportioned rooms. Wonderful breakfast buffet and good evening meals. The decor is a little garish!! One issue is that lift does not go to all floors
Upon check-in, they gave me a tiny little chamber and they called this a hotel room. Size matters! Once you open the door, there's a narrow little aisle guiding you to the bed and to the window. As there was not much space, I placed my suitcase on the window sill, which was quite roomy compared to the rest. Not only the room size was an impertinence, but, even more important, the cleanliness! In my opinion, the management should send their staff to a workshop like „How to clean a chamber somebody calls a hotel room“ urgently! As mentioned, it was not spacey at all, but they allowed them to place two chairs into that chamber. On one of them I could find three dark medium sized hairs. The same hairs I found on the floor in the bathroom! On the bed table I could see these hairs as well along with some dust. I wiped over it and the result was disgusting, which you can see on one of my pictures! The tiny little desk was dirty and dusty too! The bed linen had some ugly stains! I touched nothing without using towels or paper towels. I never will return!
This hotel is located about 8/10 of a mile from the train station. There is a large park across the street and too many restaurants to count in the area. It's very clean. The breakfast has a wide variety of choices, both hot and cold. Rooms are a little small and the beds were even smaller. Overall it is very nice for the money. Staff was great.
This hotel was lovely. Whilst the room was quite small, it was clean, well kept and the staff couldn't have done enough for us. We had an issue with the shower door, so we notified reception and went out for the afternoon and by the time we got back it was fixed. When we asked for another pillow, it was brought up almost immediately and room service was also really quick. The hotel breakfast was good, although I did come across some strange choices for breakfast such as Chinese vegetable spring rolls and hot dog sausages (not that I was complaining) All in all, it was a lovely holiday and the hotel was a great place to stay. I would definitely book here again!
This hotel has the perfect location. One minute to market square and close to Jewish quarter. The breakfast is incredible. The service is first class. I stay here every trip to Poland and I highly recommend this hotel
Wherever my travels take me I always try to stay in a Best Western hotel as they always provide great quality and I never was disappointed. It is located right in the heart of the city with walking distance to pretty much anywhere. This hotel must be either brand new or recently completely refurbished. Typical Eastern European traditional city building from the outside, really nicely refurbished. Brand new, modern on the inside. As I always stay in BW, I got platinum status with them. Cannot recommend their loyalty program enough. I arrived quite early, but the minute I showed my loyalty card, an early check in was granted free of charge. They were very friendly at reception. The room is what you would expect, usual amenities, great bed, great shower. But it is TINY. It is really small, even compared to European standards. It is OK, but can be too cozy. Breakfast is great, plenty to choose from, served from 7am to 10am. Would definitely stay agai
Just returned from a 7 night stay here. It's perfectly located for exploring Krakow. A stones throw from the main square and roughly 30 mins walk to the Jewish quarter. Only negative was that our room was tiny and the loo was right next to the wall!! Having said that though there was plenty of storage space and the shower was great. We came with friends and their room was much bigger so I suppose it's the luck of the draw. We were out and about most of the time so it really wasn't a problem but just thought I'd mention it. If it would bother you though ask for one of the larger rooms. Staff were all helpful and friendly. The breakfasts were really good. There's something for everyone. The bar area is small but it makes for a friendly meeting place after the busy day sight seeing. If we're ever back in Krakow wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
This place has some great features - excellent location, friendly staff, good breakfast, fun and funky colourful decor - these features alone would make for a repeat visit. However, be aware that the rooms are generally very small and while the space is used efficiently, this may not work for those needing a bit more space. The shower in particular is quite compact and the beds are doubles instead of queen. Even if travelling as a couple, some might want want to opt for two single beds if sleeping in a double wouldn't provide a good night's sleep. The mattress was also very firm which works for those who appreciate that but might not for others. Otherwise, this hotel has some great features going for it and as stated previously, great service!
Nice place, clean ,breakfast was good lots of choices, rooms neat and tidy, need a bigger sign out front as it was hard to see, front desk staff very helpful in recommending good restaurants a pleasant stay
Close to the old town (just short walk across the road). Rooms are small but have everything you need (including hair dryer, good toiletries, TV, air-con) and are well maintained. Breakfast was good for the all-in price. Staff very good - booked us a trip to Auschwitz one evening for following day which was very well organised and small group size for similar cost to those of other agencies (we'd booked salt mines earlier and now wish had booked through hotel). Would stay there again.
We stayed here for 3 nights Monday-Thursday. Check in was fast and easy. The rooms were lovely and well equipped with tea and coffee. We booked all our trips through reception and each time the members of reception staff were knowledgeable and always on hand to advise and recommend places to visit. Nothing was too much of an ask! I didn't get his name but he was on reception and in his 20s with glasses. What a credit to the hotel, very kind and polite and kindly printed our boarding passes. We've fallen in love with Krakow and sad to be going home. But we will definitely be back. The hotel was spot on and food was delicious as well. Hotel is fantastic for location!! With a broken ankle and two family members in their late 70s it was an ideal location. Thank you best western! See you again
we are here now Hotel is spotless, staff extremely helpful and polite. Decor of Hotel is very Retro and looks very new and nice. very well located to get to everything easly. we booked our trips in old town but hotel do them and will be happy to help you. rooms are very modern and clean. Breakfast is ok sets you up for the day, however not enough seats we had to stand and wait for ten minutes, just a case of timing it so you down at a different time I think, easly solved. food replenished very quickly and staff work hard at breakfast. all in all a very good place to stay would recommend it all.
Fantastic hotel great location. Had a great stay here.Rooms had everything needed and were cleaned daily, breakfast was also very nice, good choice. Special mention for Majek who took care of our drinks.Would highly recommend this hotel if you are planning a trip to Krakow
Spent four nights at this hotel at the end of July and couldn't fault it. Lovely modern decor and the staff were very friendly and helpful, booked three tours for us during our visit. Rooms were basic but had everything you needed, beds were comfortable and the room was spotlessly clean, the maids did an excellent job everyday. Seen a few reviews about rooms at front of hotel being noisy due to tram stop outside so was worried when we were placed at front of hotel but I had no trouble with noise or sleeping and I am a light sleeper I had a great nights sleep each night. Breakfast was good had a wide variety of choice my boyfriend and I are quite fussy eaters and enjoyed breakfast here every morning. Hotels location is fantastic 5 minute walk from the old town square where there are lovely restaurants, shops and bars. Krakow is a beautiful city with so much to see and do and this hotel is perfect for a good nights sleep after a busy day would 100% recommend.
Stayed here for 4 nights with a Jet2 package deal. Overall I had an awesome stay. The hotel is wonderful, modern and clean. The location is fantastic, 5 minute walk to the main square. Just over 10 minutes walk to the massive Galleria Shopping Centre. Walking distance to the Jewish quarters. Bus stop outside practically. Brilliant. Medium size supermarket next door too, which is very handy to get any items you need. Staff at the hotel are very friendly and helpful with any questions or requests. The room was very comfortable, might be a bit on the smallish size for two people, but it was perfect for me on my own. There was air con, a safe, Tv, iron, kettle, bottled water, hair dryer, shower gel and lotion in bathroom. I asked for a room at the back of the hotel and it was nice and quiet. I had a perfect sleep every night. Breakfast was so delicious too. Lots of choice (don't know how people can complain). And all the food was yummy. Cold food, cooked breakfast, cereal, fruits etc. Staff helpful giving me soya milk after I asked. In conclusion I cannot find anything wrong with the hotel. I had the most amazing stay, and when I come back next year I will certainly love to stay here again. Thank you.
Last September (2018) my wife and I took a Jet2 City Break to Krakow, initially booked into a different Hotel. However some weeks before departureJet2 Deemed that hotel unsuitable and transferred us to the Best Western Plus, which turned out to be a very fortunate change. Best Wester Plus is a fabulous Hotel, cheerfully (if not somewhat startlingly) decorated, the staff are all very friendly, with special mention to the Barman (I'm terrible with names) who introduced us to Flavoured Polish Vodka, and we are now very good friends. Best Western Plus is situated 5 mins walk from the main square with all its eateries and despite being on a busy road and tramway was fairly quiet.Would we go again? definitely - booked in for this September, and taking my wife's nephew and his wife with us, can't wait.
Decent hotel, located in the Krakow Old City. Good rooms, very clean. Breakfast is rather limited, they can do better. Receptionists are very friendly and professional, so I would recommend this property.
I stayed for 3 nights rooms very clean bed only double not queen size. There are lifts but you are still required to carry cases up about 8 stairs. Staff very helpful breakfast limited but very nice location perfect very short walk to market square and not far from castle and Jewish quarter
Stayed here with part of easy jet holiday package. Very pleased hotel is spotless. The decor is exactly what it shows on there pictures it's a bit retro but I really liked it. Rooms are very well equipped and beautifully clean very comfy beds. Lovely breakfast something for everyone, I contacted the hotel by email to book airport taxi they where super helpful and organised everything including all the tours which I wished I had waited for booking auschwitzs with them. Staff where really helpful, great location just 5 min stroll up to the center square. Would definitely stay here again if I come back to Poland
The hotel is very close to a tram station and about 15 mins away from the main station. The Old city centre is a 7 minute walk. The hotel has a lovely green park in front where walking can be done. The castle is a 15 min walk. The hotel itself was clean and with very helpful staff. Highly recommended.
The room and bathroom are really small, but the location is good and air conditioning works. I forgot my golden ring beside the bed and asked the hotel by email, but they didn't even answer, until we copy the mananger. Besides, they said they did not found my jewel, which i am sure i left there. So if you choose this hotel, take care of your belongings....
The smallest room ever, with a crazy dizzying decor. Staff all seems to be at the first day on the job: the guests are there for them! The location is great, but this is the only positive aspect of this hotel.
A Lovely hotel the rooms were nice and clean it's in a good location the town square is just a few minutes walk away. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful we booked our trips through reception too.
This is a well located hotel . But if you have been out for the night and making your way home you can easily walk past it. It needs a bigger sign outside and possibly on the doors. There was 5 of us and each of us found it difficult to find at the end of night despite mentally noting where it was and using google. So taxis find it no problem but you could easily miss it at the end of night when you have had a couple of beers. I was with a group that traverse mountains skiing and no problem getting from A to B but found this place difficult to return to at the end of the evening. Bedrooms air conditioned and for Krakow a necessity. Hottest place I had been to . Get insect repellant. It is must. Floor 2 is confusing as it is really floor 1.
We stayed for 3 nights in a compact Queen room, with mini fridge, coffee facilities, safe, andextremely effective ac. Compactness as getting around the window side of the bed leaves about a foot. Bed was comfortable, Reate included anexcllent and varied hot and cold breakfeast, including eggs, pancakes, cereals, fish, pastry, fruit, etc. with nothing to want for. Hoteli sabout 4 blocks from the large central square-larger than Madrid's Pl. Mayor..If youlike art novueau view Cafe Jan Michalika in the square. Kamierz, the Jewish neighborhood with 5 synagogues, including 2 active, is an easy 10 minute walk-take a free Jewish Walking Tour. For dumplings inKamierz, try Vincents, also locsted in the main square near the hotel. The castle is interesting, and pay to visit the state rooms -this requires an 10 minute uphill walk from the hotel.
We have just returned from 5 days in this lovely country. The hotel is lovely . From e mailing and asking to arrange a taxi to pick us up from the airport to the moment we left. Very pleasant professional friendly staff. Lovely clean rooms . Comfy beds .everything you need ...kettle ..hairdryer...big soft towels. A special mention to Magic .... the barman ..lovely man . Highlighted the streets on maps for us to follow and made it so easy to find our away around. Thank you . The hotel itself is in a great position to get around every where..buses . Trams .walking .we walked everywhere. The weather was beautiful for us thankfully and we enjoyed just exploring everywhere. We arranged our auschwitz tickets through the hotel .collection from the hotel and dropped back off again ..going with a guide really is the only way to do it on this one . An experience that will never be forgotten . So Thank you Best western plus..we had a lovely time ....
Just returned from a 3 night stay . The staff were polite and helpful. Room was clean and had everything we needed. The location was excellent and great for sight seeing. Luggage was looked after on final day so we didn't need to take it out with us . Thank you
A lovely stay at this hotel. It's in an excellent location close to the main square. I had a single room which had a large bed. Very clean. The complimentary breakfast was good with lots of choices. The hotel organised our trip to Aushwitz which I would highly recommend. Would definitely stay again!
Four day stay for a family weekend break could not have been to a better hotel. Clean and modern with nice decor. Great rooms, very comfy beds and great bathrooms. Set right near the heart of Krakow but super quiet at nights. Really nice bar and utterly oerf CT for what we have wanted. Definitely coming back, even if just for the huuuge buffet breakfasts!!
This hotel is first of all spotless. Its walking distance to the main piazza, historyland and a huge modern shopping centre. There is a tram stop across the road but I didn't use that. A hearty breakfast is also provided and the staff a very friendly and helpful.
Lovely Hotel - clean and modern - great bathroom - very helpful staff nothing was too much trouble - good selection for breakfast - different selection every day - fresh fruit - cereals and cooked - very close to Square 5 min walk overlooking park - very quite throughout the night - will definitely go back
We were booked into this hotel by the travel agents but it was not ideal. A 20 minute walk from the Railway Station but close to the town centre. Main problem for elderly people was the access to the room- the lift went up to the floor above our room so we had to struggle down a flight of stairs with two heavy suitcases. Breakfast menu was average. We stayed in a different hotel in Krakow previously which was much better.
First rate hotel close to old town. Short walk to Old Town Market and other tourist attractions. Great, bountiful breakfast. Rooms were fairly large, with comfy beds. Normally we stay close to train station, but in this case, we took hotel transfer taxi (100 Polish currency) to and from airport. Hotel staff cordial, professional and helpful booking trips. They scheduled us for Auschwitz/Salt Mines with McIt tours and the tour pick-up/tour guides were great. Would definitely stay here again.
This hotel is absolutely fantastic. Located about 4-5 minute walk from the centre of the old town. Staff very friendly and professional. Hotel was really clean. Breakfast was fab, something for everyone. Definitely recommend this hotel. Had a great week
lovely and very well situated hotel walking distance to old Krakow and also to Jewish quarter etc. Nicely decorated, great food and drinks and cheerful, helpful staff. The hotel is a good base for seeing most of the top attractions and also a lovely place to rest as it is quiet and restful
really nice stay at this hotel, the staff were so very helpful. They moved us to another room when we found it so very noisy due to the trams immediately outside. This made our stay so much more comfortable and enjoyable just goes to show, all you have to do is make the staff aware and they will do their utmost to help - thank you to all the staff there
Lovely hotel, friendly staff. Good variety of food at breakfast. The hotel décor was modern and bright. Ideal situation in relation to the centre and the castle. Small supermarket next door. Highly recommended.
stayed here for 4 nights in April 2019, the building appears old fashioned on the outside but when you go in it is very modern. the rooms are quite garish and in your face but they were very clean and spacious. the only negative about the room was that the pillows are very uncomfortable and flat but using 2 is too much, so bring your own pillows is my suggestion and it could do with a mini fridge. the location is so good for tourists, 5 minutes walk from the main square and less than 10 to Wawel Castle which is a must see. breakfast was included, it had a good selection of hot and cold with fresh fruit, cakes, breads, cheeses and meats as well as hot sausages fried eggs and scrambled eggs, it was all you can eat buffet. overall we would stay here again but would bring our own pillows.
In a fantastic location only a 5 min walk from the main square. The hotel is very modern and to our liking. Our room was very spacious, immaculate and well equipped no 210, it was at the front of the hotel but we couldn't hear any traffic noise when the windows were closed. Breakfast was included in the price of the room and it was always well presented and plenty of choice. From start to finish of our break we couldn't find any fault and would highly recommend a stay here. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay perfect. Mr and Mrs Hobbs.
Great hotel with good breakfast choice large rooms clean and in a good location! Staff spoke excellent English and where friendly. Bar prices were not bad a pint and a half was about £4.50 . Opposite is a open park so if you walk through there you are right into the main square if Krakow.
Lovely hotel in a great location, the decoration is a bit loud but don't let that put you off it is a great place to base yourself and the staff are fantastic and a great help. The hotel it self is only a short distance away from the main square and all it amenities.
The hotel is located near to the main square, it is very clean and the rooms are decorated in a modern funky style. The staff were always friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included and was fresh with a reasonable selection of hot and cold food. We would highly recommend this hotel
This was our 3rd stay at the best western plus. It's very clean and does a great breakfast. The rooms are a good size and brightly decorated. The square and castle are a few minutes walk away. The staff are friendly and speak good English. Have recommended it to friends.
Lovely hotel, a 5 minute walk from the main square, trams stop outside the hotel. The hotel is spotlessly clean, cleaning staff clean rooms daily, all the staff were very friendly. Will definitely be coming back.
Great location for sight seeing right in between “ the old town and warell castle “ Very quaint and colourful room . Friendly and knowledgeable staff . Would recommend this hotel again . I've restaurant food
We were here 4 days mid week, and had a Great Double Room with all amenities, Large TV Screen LG, Safe, Fridge, Hair Dryer, Coffee Maker etc.modern outfit in black, white & pink..Spacious Room which was very clean. Staff left no stones unturned to please and they served a fabulous breakfast buffet every morning....till next time !!!
We are so glad we chose this hotel! We booked a superior room and requested a room at the back of the hotel, it was spotlessly clean and spacious. The room had an ironing board, iron, hairdryer, safe, tea/coffee facilities and complimentary water, which was restocked daily. The breakfast is continental, bread, cheese, meat, eggs, sausages and Danish pastries ... enough to keep you going for a few hours whilst walking around Kraków. The location is just perfect and has a tram stop outside and a little supermarket next door. The staff were all friendly, always said hello and arranged a taxi for us to the airport. We would certainly book this hotel again, we really enjoyed our stay.
I stayed here for four nights in November 2018. Great location, in the Old Town, just outside the city wall. A tram stop is directly outside the hotel and more trams stops are on the next corner. The Old Town Square is literally a meandering 10 minute walk - faster if you don't look at everything and walk slow. There is a supermarket about 50m from the Hotel, maybe less. The hotel itself is well appointed, I found it to be well clean, the small double room was just that, small, and would be very tight for two people, I needed to close my case to open the door. The heating was great, the hot water plentiful. The breakfast was great - a good assortment of English and European dishes. The staff were extraordinarily helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The train station is less than a 10-minute taxi ride. Everywhere else is walking distance or tram. The location, in my opinion, made up for a bit of noise at night - and I only noticed it because I am not used to ANY night noise. The only reason I took a star off as - it is quite a noisy location being on top of a Tram line - but I wore earplugs, and that I had to keep opening and closing my case. I am a solo female traveler - I felt safe at the hotel and in the vicinity, even getting home in the dark, the area is reasonably well lit. I would stay here again.
Our stay was perfect from start to finish. Hotel is spotless. Staff very helpful. Breakfast delicious and fantastic choice. Good value and excellent location. I will absolutely stay here again when I next visit Krakow.
Selected this hotel for its location, it is well situated for the old town , a tram stop is just outside so you can get anywhere very easily. The rooms are comfortable and clean. I had a restful nights sleep throughout my stay. Trams pass close by but you hardly notice them and it did not bother me. The breakfast is great, plenty of choice and very tasty. The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful, providing directions and maps to help me out. I highly recommend this hotel for a stay in Krakow, I will certainly be returning. Thanks.
We booked this hotel because of its location being close to the old town square and castle. The rooms are very well presented and clean. Ours 202 had a safe, mini fridge ( nothing in it but you can fill it yourself no doubt) hair dryer, ironing board, and two bottles of water was replaced as required. The maid came every day to make beds etc. The breakfast buffet was unrushed and had plenty of choice. Reception was very helpful at all times and the bar was small but ideal for a drink after a long day walking or last drink before bedtime. It has been modernised with bright colours etc so might not be to everyone's taste but it certainly ticked all the box's for us. Loads of power points for charging I pad etc. Our room was very warm but I found how to turn the radiators downed set it to suit. No complaints whatsoever thank you to all at the hotel
We stayed here for 3 nights only. We had originally been booked in for the beginning of February but due to snow at Bristol airport our flight was cancelled, we had paid upfront for the hotel. I contacted them and they very kindly said if we came before the end of February that would be ok, which I thought was very nice of them as we could of been classed as a ‘no show'. Anyway the hotel was very nice, with bright clean decor, the staff were friendly and breakfast was varied. Location close to main square and restaurants easily reached on foot, the Jewish quarter a further distance but there is a tram stop immediately outside. We had a superior room which was spacious, bathroom adequate. We would stay here again if in Krakow.
This hotel is great. Location was perfect for getting around the old town and the Jewish district. A tram runs to the main train station, though it's only a 15 min walk. There is a supermarket next door which is handy. The hotel itself is modern, clean and they take care of the small details. Reception can provide you with everything you forget (adapters, phone chargers, toiletries etc). Rooms are comfortable and cleaned daily. Towels, tea, coffee and water are replenished every day and you have everything you need provided (hair dryer, fridge, safe, iron, laundry bag) Staff are lovely and helpful. They arranged our transfers for us (100zl each way for 4 people). It couldn't have been easier. Lots of choice at breakfast and there was no rush. Perfect stay. There are cheaper places to stay in Kraków but I wouldn't hesitate to come back here!
Great hotel, 5 minutes from main square. It is spotlessly clean and we had tea/coffee making facilities in our room - we also had a mini fridge and a safe. The staff were very helpful when asking for advice on trams, trains etc. Breakfast was good and plentiful consisting of tea/coffee, fruit juice, cereals, fruit, yogurt, toast, scrambled or fried eggs, sausages, beans. There was also ham and cheese etc. There was a small bar serving drinks during the evening, though we were uncertain what times they were serving until. One evening they were closing around 11.20pm, then was open until 12 midnight on another evening (both week days). The hotel is located about 20 mins drive from the airport and I would highly recommend it, which is very conveniently located to all the attractions.
We booked this hotel as part of a city break and stayed here from the Friday to the Monday. Our room was on 4th floor at the front. We had read reviews that said the front of the hotel was noisy, and yes, you could hear the teams passing initially, but it wasn't as bad as we would have thought. On the Sunday evening there was workmen working on the team line outside but again, it wasn't too noisy, just noticeable if you listened for it. The rooms were spacious and clean, well presented. The shower was small though and hard to move in. Food was good at breakfast time, good selections. staff were friendly and on hand to offer advice when asked. The location was excellent- less than 5 minutes to the square, and only 15 minute walk to the Jewish quarter / over the water to hero square etc. We would defiantly recommend and we would stay here again next time we visit.
We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights with friends and found the location ideal. Just on the outskirts of the main squares in the Old town of Krakow. The rooms albeit small compared to other hotels were clean and had all amenities (fridge, safe, hairdryer, iron etc). They were cleaned daily. The breakfast was buffet style and there was a reasonable selection of continental style food but if you want a full English you wont get one here. On the whole the breakfast was okay. There is a small well stocked bar open from midday to midnight and is reasonably priced considering it is a hotel. We would definitely recommend this hotel and intend to return to the beautiful City of Krakow soon!!
We stayed here for 4 nights. Rooms were fine for what we needed, cleaned every day. The hotel is ideally located smack bang in the middle of old town and the Jewish quarter and a 10 minute walk to the main station. If possible ask for a room at the back of the hotel which we did as the front is located next to the tram line and can be noisy. Breakfast not to bad but not my cup of tea but always found something to eat.
We booked the Best Weston on line, found the hotel easily, walking distance from Train and Bus station, the hotel was very clean throughout, our accommodation was excellent very clean, service to our apartment was again first class cannot fault it, the restaurant was top class, large range of food for breakfast for all tastes, evening dining was again first class for the price, the main desk staff again were very helpful and answered all our requests.
Hotel is in a great location only a few minutes walk to main square and around 15 minutes to the Jewish quarter and there is a tram stop outside. The bedrooms are small but well equiped with tea & coffee making facilities, large tv and memory foam mattresses . Our room was at the back of the hotel and was very quiet. Breakfast was good quality with plenty of variety and great coffee . If we visit again we would definitely stop here again.
First visit to Krakow. The hotel is very well situated on the edge of the Old Town. Room modern, newly renovated, on the smaller side, but very comfortable. Shower room fine, water hot, towels good. Central heating works well! Minus 8 or more outside and we are very warm inside. Breakfast more than adequate. Self service which means you can sit drinking coffee for as long as you want! Can recommend for a city break.
Nice clean room shower a little small, but manageable. Great location in walking distance to the old town, superb staff very friendly. Nice bar easy prices as well. Breakfast the usual continental, to be expected, but always find something to eat.
We spent 3 nights here. Make sure you ask for a room at the back of the hotel if you don't want to hear the traffic. The hotel is very clean and the staff are very nice. Breakfast is ok all the usual expected items. The hotel is situated about a 5 minute walk to the main square.
This is a very modern hotel within a few minutes walk of the main market square. Arrive early or leave late no problem as they have a free secure luggage store. The hotel can arrange a variety of tours that pick up direct from hotel at reasonable prices. Recommended
The Best Western Plus Krakow Old Town is the only hotel we stay in whenever we visit this most beautiful of cities. Checked in immediately by a very pleasant member of staff who upgraded my twin brother Stephen and I to a superior room,we were allocated room 105 on the first floor ,room was modern, light and airy, flat screen tv with plenty of English speaking channels, super comfortable beds, tea and coffee making facilities,a fridge , an iron and ironing board, lots of storage space the shower room is superb, spotlessly clean and the rooms are cleaned daily to a very high standard ,could not fault anything about the room. The breakfast is most definitely well worth getting out of bed for,a big choice of hot and cold offering, tea and coffee and iced cold juices ,just delicious, the bar is also fantastic, started our nights out here but what makes this hotel so good are the staff ,they made our stay so good . The location could not be better with trams 4.8.10.13.18 dropping you off at the hotel, your only a short stroll from the magnificent Old Town, Wawel Castle and the Jewish Quarter. We are currently enjoying a great eight day stay in Krakow ,we arrived here on the 14th of January as the snow was falling and we are having a great time. A wonderful hotel, one I highly recommend you consider if your planning a holiday to this most beautiful of cities.
From arriving to leaving I could not fault the hotel, very clean, rooms and staff fantastic. the room we had was very boutique and very clean, beds where very comfy, the staff were exceptional, always helpful. breakfast was lovely with a choice of hot and cold food as much as you wanted, placed just outside the walls of the old town, great place.
Well having never been to krakow before was very unshaw but it was fab people so friendly. Hotel was very central to the square room was large breakfast great continental but loads of choice all the hotel staff were friendly and helpful . The only thing that let it down was the tram noise was from 5.30 am till about 11pm as are room was on the front that was my only complaint but did not stop us having a great time. Food and drinks so cheap . And I mean cheap .
We booked this hotel as its location was excellent for us. I emailed in advance and paid to upgrade our room. Hotel beautiful, but the upgrade wasn't worth it. 2 smaller than average single beds still. Only difference was a little extra space. Breakfast was great. We heard the tram passing through the night but it wasn't bad. Would have been better if we could control the temperature of the room. We would return but wouldn't pay the upgrade. Service in the bar was none existent. Stood 15 minutes before anyone came to serve us. Staff were otherwise great
Spent 3 nights here on bed and breakfast rate. Great location for the Old Town and Castle. We had a premium room at the back of the Hotel, quiet, only downside was the sloping ceiling on which we both knocked our heads! Hence the bloody pillowcase!! Did mention this to the staff when leaving the Hotel. Plenty of tea, coffee, toiletries in the room. Good breakfast buffet with plenty of choice. As we were departing from the Hotel early we asked for a breakfast to go which was really great. Recommend.
Fine, modern hotel. Very clean, Nice rooms but there is a difference in size, depents on the building. Beds ok, pillows so so. Bathroom has everything but is small. Everything works fine. Friendly, helpfull staff. Breakfast very good! Hotel close to the old centre. Tramstops nearby. We come back, thats for sure. Rates are ok. There is a bar, you can have a drink but its not cosy. Thats a pity. Overall its a great hotel.
Certainly would recommend. Welcoming.Staff could not do enough to help. They booked trips, taxis at no extra cost. Breakfast was great... So much choice. Room was clean and comfortable. On the first evening there was an issue with the radiator in our room. within 10 minutes it was all sorted..... superb service 10 out of 10
Stayed here for 4 nights for Xmas market. Very good central location. Staff wonderful knowledgeable and helpful. Breakfast buffet plentiful and very adequate multi choice. Room modern and chic with free safe deposit and fast free wi-fi. Security was excellent and is monitored 24/7. Tram stop outside. Supermarket next door if needed. Downside is lift arrangement, we were on second floor but to reach it you had to get lift to third floor and walk down one flight. Passing trams also create severe vibration and extreme noise in room if at front of hotel but seems to abate during early hours. Room was very hot and it took a day to work out that each radiator has a thermostat to turn down to make it comfortable overnight! At the end of the day would I stay here again the answer would be a definite YES!
Lovely hotel, quiet, clean, accommodating and friendly staff. The breakfasts catered for everyone. The hotel is situated in a great location, two minute walk from the old town square. There are pleanty of bars and lovely restaurants all in walking distance. If you're thinking of going to Krakow I would definitely recommend staying here.
The hotel is modern and bright. Our room was compact but clean and was kept clean during our 5 day visit. It was adequate as we were out most of the time. The hotel is a perfect location for the Old Town, 5 minute walk away. The tram stops outside but its a 15 minute walk to the train station. Schindlers factory is a 25 minute walk away, turn right out of the hotel right at the traffic lights and keep walking straight over the river. Turn left just before the bus terminal and its a 5 minute walk under the railway. Easy to walk too but pre-book to avoid the queue. Breakfast at the weekend is chaotic, no one shows you to a table - it felt like a free for all just to grab a table, during the week was much better. The bar is small but priced very reasonably 22 zloty for 1 and a half pints. We used Uber taxis to and from the airport to the hotel, only 25 zloty to arrive and 40 zloty to leave compared to 90 zloty for the airport taxi. Its a convenient hotel for the price and location. Restaurants that I would recommend are Virtuosso Piano Rouge - live music after 9pm (piano and singer) book in advance to sit in the piano section Pod Sloncem - all these are very good on the main square and same side. Good bars Wodka bar a must - 35 zloty for a flight of 6 taster vodkas Dorby Kumpel Pub House of Beer (good food too) Belgium bar (next to House of Beer) Movida Cocktail bar Bull pub Budda Bar
Rooms - Room was tiny but ok for us as it was just somewhere to sleep. Walls were paper thin so could hear everything! Bed wasn't very comfy. Not sure why there was a desk in the room but no mirror above the desk. Had a room at the back of the hotel but could still hear the trams. Didn't bother me. Breakfast was ample and better than other European hotels I've used. Location - Perfect, very close to the old town, a 5 minute walk and tram stops just outside. Reception staff helpful with letting me know which trams to use.
We have just spent a very pleasant 4 night stay at the Best western plus, Krakow old town. Modern hotel, clean, pleasant staff, our room at the back of the hotel had no noise whatsoever, from inside or out. Excellent night's sleep, followed by a good selection of foods for breakfast. Their restaurant serves modern presented, well cooked food, the ambience could be softened by changes to the lighting though. The hotel's position is a pleasant 5 minute walk to the central square. recommended hotel.
Second time we have stopped at this hotel. Hotel is great, couldnt fault it. Iron and hairdryr in room. Its in a central location. Perfect for a city break. We also booked a trip at reception, picked up and dropped back off at the hotel. Breakfast has a good selection too, try the youghurt with granola, very nice.
One of the nicest hotels we have been in very modern, staff very friendly & helpful, breakfast very good a lovely choice, in a good position to walk into the square, and surrounding would definitely return to this hotel....
The hotel was very clean and modern. The staff were helpful and pleasant. The buffet breakfast was very good and there was a lot of choice. The hotel room was too hot and we even opened the window for a short time. Although the rooms are fairly small the beds were fairly comfortable.
I have just stayed at this hotel for 3 nights with my Mum and what an enjoyable stay we had. The staff are super helpful, I contacted the hotel in advance of my stay and they booked trips to Auschwitz and the Salt Mine for me. The hotel is modern and quirky. We had a room on the third floor overlooking the front of the hotel and although you can hear the trams rumbling along in the evening and early morning it wasn't a problem. The rooms are fairly small and compact but are spotlessly clean, especially the bathroom, with all the facilities that you would need - iron/board, tea/coffee, hairdryer and bottled water. A shelf in the bathroom rather than an under basin cupboard would be useful but a minor point. We were pleasantly surprised. The location is great being a 5 minute walk to the main square. The hotel is quite warm and the room at night can get quite hot. There doesn't appear to be any adjustment on the heating/air con unit above the door. Breakfast is plentiful and tasty. The toaster is a bit unpredictable but that goes for most hotels. Something I would suggest is that the hotel puts tongs on the bread baskets and cake plates so people don't have to use their hands. I cannot fault this hotel and would definitely stay again. One person I would like to thank is Rafal in the front office who was responsive, helpful and who booked two tours for me prior to my arrival, thank you. However, all of the staff are friendly and helpful. Book the golf buggy private tour at the hotel which is interesting and great fun.
The hotel is a excellent choice for location and value if you are looking to visit Krakow Old Town , only 5 minutes walk to the magnificent town square. All the staff and amenities are perfect for a short break. Staff very helpful in helping with any arrangements you may need. Would recommend for a short break.
Fanastic location, 5mins to everything in the Old Town area - main square, restaurants, pubs etc, and then 5-10mins in the other direction to the Jewish Quarter and castle, and even 15min to the ice hockey stadium if you want to catch a game. Very clean, bright and modern with all the amenities you could need. The restaurant is a good size and ample choice for breakfast (tea/coffee/cocoa, fruit juices, cereal, bread, cold meats & cheese & slices of vegetables, cooked breakfast - eggs, sausages, pancakes, baked beans, porridge, cakes, yoghurts, fruit etc) The rooms are quite small, but have everything you need - TV, a/c, table with 2 chairs, toiletries, hair dryer, ironing board, safe, tea/coffee, mini fridge etc. We booked a twin room, and our friends booked a double, but we both got rooms with 2 single beds, and these seemed smaller than normal singles. The shower cubicle was also very small and on the 3rd floor the water pressure was very weak. The room was really hot even with the radiator turned down to a minimum, so we either had to open the window (but then you heard the street noise & traffic) or use the a/c. which in winter seems very wasteful. Would stay here again for the location.
The hotel is only 5 minutes walk to the center of the town and my wife who uses a crutch, managed it in 20 mins. The hotel is ultra modern in decor and takes some getting used to (black and white). Our room was very spacious and clean. It has heating or air conditioning. The beds were rather small, but adequate. I could have done with an extra blanket as I am on blood thinners and feel the cold. Breakfast was very good both English and Continental selection. My only complaint, was the plates were cold and as soon as an egg was placed on one, you could see it harden. There is no excuse for this, in this present age.
The hotel is extremely well positioned and is probably about a 5 minute walk from the city centre if even. The hotel is very good at organizing hotel transfers from the airport and will do this over Facebook prior to your trip if you ask them. However, the rooms are not sound-proofed and you can hear every noise. One problem we had was that the wake up CALL was actually them banging on a door and shouting it was time to wake up - this is a problem as we were not the ones who wanted the call but in stead woke up to someone else's down the hall - a wake up call should be a phoneCALL. If guests were nosy at night they also did not stop this. The position and helpfulness prior to trip does makie up for this but things to consider.
We stayed three nights. Nice location, right by the old town. The hotel is clean and the staff efficient and very pleasant. The breakfast is better than I would expect at this price range. The room was a bit small, but it was clear from the description, so no complaints. The is some noise from the street, tram, but nothing that bothered us to much. I would stay again anytime.
We had a double with 2 single beds pushed together as these rooms are larger than the double rooms. The staff are so friendly and will do anything for you. The hotel is ideally situated for the old town (just across the road) and the trams to the old Jewish Quarters and also across the river. The hotel and rooms were very warm as when we arrived the temperature suddenly dropped. Would recommend.
Great place to base yourself for visiting many different place very close to old market square and restaurants some road noise, very modern, good breakfast choice, warm rooms. Free safe in rooms clean tidy and well maintained
This Hotel is a good location for the old town. Staff pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was fine, fairly typical buffet style continental type. I'm sorry to say though that the decor is truly awful. Modern and totally at odds with it's exterior. Fluorescent zig zag lights everywhere. Black and white theme taken to the extreme!! That aside the room was clean but tiny! Barely enough space to walk past each other. Yes it was cheap and you get what you pay for so that's the reason I gave it 3 dots.
I was fortunate to get my room upgraded to a superior twin given my loyalty status with Best Western. Reading the other stories about the size of the standard rooms I'm really glad we got the upgrade. However even this room is small by most hotels I've stayed in but it was ok . It's a twin room which is fine but why on earth is there only 1 small thin pillow on each bed? There is a 2nd half pillow cushion thing ? What on earth is that all about? Please raise this simple standard by providing 2 proper pillows for each guest .... it's not going to cost you a lot. Heating being automatically controlled based on outside temperature is bizarre. Most people like to be able to choose their own room temperature ... hot can be too hot and cold , as it is now (and it's cold outside) , can be too cold. You ought to find a way to let guests regulate room temperature. Servicing the room ... would have been nice if they had a checklist on what to replenish on the tea/coffee tray ..ours wasn't replenished but the water was. I suspect that's a random thing. Rooms at the front are just noisy constantly with the trams trundling by .. double glazing is installed but it's not sufficient to keep that noise out. Perhaps consider additional internal glazing for these rooms .. the tram bells at 5am are quaint but not welcome. Breakfast was ok ..I've had worse and I've had better .. wish there was bacon there but sadly not ..and the scrambled egg was probably the least cooked egg I have ever seen on any of my hotel travels. Staff seem nice enough... Not sure I would return but if I did I would not want a standard room based on the other reviews. Location is good for the sights.
This hotel is in a fantastic location, only around five minutes to the old town square with all its bars and restaurants. The hotel is modern and very clean. The rooms are a little on the small side but adequate and the bathroom was lovely, with a good shower. Tea/coffee maker and free water, along with a small fridge were much appreciated. I would definitely stay there again.
We stayed 3 nights in this hotel last October. The room, on the backside - 2nd floor, was clean and had enough space for the both of us. Breakfast was very fine and for everyone enough to choose from. The hotel is located just outside the old Town center, hence the name. There's little parking space but, for us, that didn't matter because we arrived by public transport that running through the street in front of the hotel (bus and tram). The old town and castle are both in walking distance from the hotel. We enjoyed our stay in this Hotel and would surely choose it again when returning to Krakow.
Great location for visiting this lovely city. Close to the Castle, river & main square. Clean & comfertable and modern . Great breakfast. Supplied all 6 of us with a packed breakfast for our 7 am start to Auschwitz. Would definately stay here again
I have reviewed this hotel before as I stay here all the time while in Kraków.never lets me down reception staff are all so helpful rooms always clean and fresh and I had a room with 2beds so used both of the pillows which the cleaning staff obviously noticed so made the bed up the same way every time. I thought that was a nice little touch. Typical hotel breakfast always well presented and it was really well kept. The hotel isn't that expensive either and it's in the perfect location for the town centre. This is one hotel I will go back to anytime I am there.
We stayed in the hotel for four nights and couldn't fault the service in any way. Rooms were exceptionally clean and spacious and breakfast catered for all tastes. The hotel was a few minutes away from the old town square where there was a wide choice of restuarants and bars. All in all a perfect hotel to use as a base to explore Krakow.
Stayed here for four nights recently. Fabulous location, square is less than 5 min walk. Reception staff are lovely. Always a warm greeting when passing. Very helpful with directions and they booked two tours for us too. Breakfast is very plentiful with lots of choice. Room was lovely and clean and a great powerful shower, with nice views of the park too. If you are at the front of the hotel, trams can be noisy, but the hotel cannot do anything about that. If you think it will bother you, request a room at the back of the hotel. A very enjoyable stay. So thanks to all the staff.
We have just flown back from Krakow today after 3 nights spent in this hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, the hotel was clean with maid service daily, the breakfast was lovely though could get busy at times. There is a lift to The 3rd floor with a couple of stops to The 4th. If you have mobility issues please ask that you not stay on the 4th floor. The location of this hotel though was great for us. There was a team and bus stop outside and only a few minutes walk from the main square where you have lots of cafe's and restaurants, horse and carriage rides and plenty of places to sit and enjoy the atmosphere. We would certainly stay here again.
Everything you need for a nice weekend trip, good location in a heart of Krakow, friendly staff, nice clean rooms and good breakfast. It is located right next to busy street, but at least in our room no sound of traffic.
This Old Hotel has been recently refurbished and is very modern The location is only 400 metres from the Old Town Square and has a Team stop right outside The staff are very helpful and the Breakfast is excellent Overall great value for money
this is perfect location for main square Krakow. it is 5 minutes walk from the square, crowds and revellers. the only sound is from the trams which is regular but not at night. twenty mins from Krakow airport costing 90 zlotys or roughly £20. hotel will arrange for pickup and return to airport when leaving. good continental breakfast and Resturant serving meals till 10pm. staff friendly and helpful. hotel clean and modern with a supermarket approx 30 metres along the road. standard room which I had was fine for one person however when I return to Krakow next year with wife I will get the superior room which is twice the size of the standard although toilet/shower room and wardrobe space the same. make sure to ask for a double bed which is two singles pushed together and ask for double mattress on top otherwise you can have two singles.
Great location for the town square. Spotlessly clean, bright and modern. Our bedroom was massive with tea/coffee facilities, great shower room, t.v., Great breakfast with hot and cold selection. The staff are so helpful with suggestions on where to eat and what trams to get. Tram stop virtually outside hotel so it's a bit noisy when they rattle past. I took ear plugs. We are going back to this hotel next year because there is so much to see and do in Krakow.
We really lucked out on this place! They could not have been more accommodating, professional and welcoming.......from arranging our shuttle from the airport to the hotel to giving us a discount on our bill for no hot water one morning (which we would have never thought to ask for). The building, from the outside, was what a person would expect from a gorgeous city like Krakow and the interior of the hotel was completely renovated, beautiful, modern and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. LOVED the location; walking distance to everywhere we wanted to go. I would highly recommend this hotel!
We went to Krakow for four days in September. The hotel was central close to the city centre and not to far too the Jewish sector so easy walking distance for all amenities. The hotel was clean and well decorated with everything you need.
A nice hotel friendly staff. We did ask if the heating was working as it turned chilly on a night, all we wanted was the towel rail to be heated for towels and we were told the heating only worked when it got cold outside which I find hard to believe. Nice breakfast but if you do stay here as for a room at the back of the hotel as the trams start very early. On the Monday morning they started at 4am and you hear every rattle. Not as early on the other mornings but early which meant you don't bet a good nights sleep. Breakfast was good and plenty of choice.
great hotel with good service. the hotel is located in the central part of krakow. the room is new and very fresh. we had to leave very early and the hotel aranged the transport and even supplied breakfast bad (without that we have requested it).
Stayed here for a short city break. The room was good, not the largest we've ever been in but to be honest we only slept in it. The room was one of the jazz rooms and the facilities were spot on. The staff were friendly polite and helpful really good when it came to booking trips. Breakfast was superb with the widest range of food imaginable. Oh forgot to say maybe the refurb isn't totally in sync with the historic building it is very modern and classy.. lighting in the room was good even providing reading lights. We enjoyed our stay an would recommend and revisit..
We had two rooms for two nights in July which were clean, comfortable and air conditioned with a large ensuite bathroom. Location to old town sites and restaurants is just a short walk through the park .The breakfast was a buffet style with a good variety and staffed by very courteous young ladies. All the staff were exceptionally helpful with everything we asked of them. So glad I found this one. Good value for money and highly recommended.
Nice and central. Short walk to old town and all the attractions. Hotel clean, decor great and staff all helpful.Food at breakfast was adequate but not fantastic. Double room was very small though. Good value
Really nice modern hotel, bedroom was comfortable but small, good ensuite bathroom The staff, superb! efficient and very helpful. Buffet breakfast was ample, offering a good variety. We used the restaurant on one occasion, very nice. This hotel is only a short walk from the main square and 15 minutes from the Jewish Quarter. The reception staff booked 2 excursions for me, although a little dearer than booking at a kiosk on the street, the service was excellent.
The staff at this hotel is amazing. They went far beyond the normal staff. The front desk was always sharp and helpful. Always happy and greeting us each time we came through. The breakfast was a complete awesome meal.
Perfect location, you may reach by walking almost every attraction in Krakow. Recently renewed with good taste, very pleasant rooms. Very kind staff at the reception. Good and rich breakfast. The only defects : fitted carpet in the floor (difficult to be kept clean in a hotel), bed non well made every day and lack of bread pincers at the breakfast buffet (the customers touch almost everything with the hands....).
Stayed for 3 nights earlier in Aug. The location is perfect and very close to the main square, bars, restaurants etc. The rooms are small but had everything we needed and were extremely clean and modern. The bar is lovely and has a nice area to sit outside. Breakfast was good with an excellent selection. Staff were very helpful.
Overall, we enjoyed our 3-day stay at this hotel. Location great, 10 min walk from the old town square. Rooms really small, but since we didn't spend much time there, we didn't mind. Breakfast, not too impressive, but enough. Hotel and room was clean and nice, staff friendly. Better breakfast and larger room would have given them top score from me.
Fantastic place to stay - very convenient to most tourist attractions. Rooms can be awfully small but if you are okay with that, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone choosing to visit Krakow. Friendly staff, excellent breakfast, nice decor.
Fantastic stay at this hotel staff was really friendly hotel was nice and clean, and only a 5min walk in to old town and 10min to the castle would highly recommend this hotel it's walking distance to all the main attractions
This hotel is located close to all the attractions of Krakow. A modern hotel with comfortable rooms. The air conditioning was of particular benefit. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was continental buffet style and was adequate for our needs. We considered ourselves lucky to have picked this hotel for our stay in beautiful Krakow.
Fab location, 5 mins from the main square. Hotel is an old building which is modern lay decorated. Clean and well maintained. The rooms aren't large but the beds are very comfortably. Good choice at breakfast to suit all diets.
What a lovely, clean and friendly hotel. Within walking distance to all attractions. Would certainly recommend this hotel. Just one down side bring your ear plugs if you are on front of hotel. Trams are very close. Although you do get used to it and the brilliant aircon with remote control means you can keep the wind's closed. Other features include fridge, safe, aircon, iron and board, tea coffee all free of charge.
I found the hotel very central within walking distance of the tourist attractions. The hotel was clean and staff very friendly. Breakfast was continental with a good choice. They gave us maps of the area which helped when planning where to go. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Krakow.
Very clean, friendly staff and although rooms are on the small size, they have everything you need. Comfortable beds & good linen Modern decor Bathroom : Nice Shower with shower gel dispenser Washbasin with hairdryer and pull out magnifying mirror Soap and body lotion dispensers Bath sheets huge In room : tea/coffee making facilities Fridge, ironing board and iron and a safe Air con too - for us it ticked all the boxes Breakfast : buffet style, very good. Usual continental with hams, cheese etc, cereals, fruit, cakes, toast, delicious scrambled eggs, fried eggs, beans etc juices, coffee machine, cappuccino to expressos Fully stocked bar next to reception. We are on the third floor and although there are teams going past it didn't really bother us during the day - at night time with the window closed couldn't hear any noise. Air con provided a cool room. Would definitely recommend!
Booked through Jet2 City Breaks, we were given a warm welcome on arrival on Monday (23/7) and were pleased to find our room was modern, clean and comfortable. Our room was a little small, however this really wasn't a concern for us. Staff at the hotel are all very helpful and friendly, and there is also a well stocked bar with a garden/terrace to relax over a drink. Breakfast was excellent with a large choice of cereals, fresh fruit, cakes and hot & cold food. Situated just a few minutes walk from Krakow's Old Town Square, we enjoyed exploring Krakow on foot (and on Segway) in the day, and enjoyed the many restaurants & bars around the Square in the evening. When we return to Krakow, we will definitely stay at this hotel.
Booked our break through Jet2 City Breaks, cannot speak highly enough of this hotel and its staff. Lovely welcome when we checked in, one of the first things noticed was the cleanliness in all areas. Our Room wasn't too small at all and very funky, towels, toiletries, water & tea/coffee changed each day. Breakfast choice was a good mix of hot & cold, along with different coffees, teas & juices. The bar area is a nice place to start or end your evening. The reception staff always friendly and helpful, they booked our Salt Mine trip and happy to let us leave our luggage for the full day due to a later flight. We will certainly want to stay here again when we return to Krakow and will be recommending it to friends who are planning a trip.
A very good hotel with clean rooms, good service from all the staff with a good selection in the breakfast buffet dining room,Will stay here on my next visit to Krakow. The location is very central giving good access to the Market Square,Shopping Centre, and the usual Krakow Tourist Sites
We've just returned this evening (27/7/18) from this hotel having had an excellent week's stay. We went, quite unsure of what to expect having left the choice of hotel to Jet2 to then read some disturbing reviews. We arrived a week ago around 7:30pm tired, after a long day, were greeted by lovely reception staff, went to our room quick freshen up and change and off to explore. As we passed reception we asked if we could possibly have two more pillows and would they let themselves into our room we were on our way out. They asked if we were sure we wanted someone to go in on their own. On our return the pillows were there but we couldn't open the safe, it had been left locked by the previous occupants again this was dealt with immediately. I'd emailed before we went asking for trips to be booked. These had been waiting at Reception on our arrival and were exactly as requested, even arranged pick up and return to the hotel and no more expensive that if we'd spent time looking round the town ourselves to book. Breakfast next day and the rest of the week, gave us plenty of choice ( one of the poor criticisms that there was little choice ) both continental i.e. Fresh meats, cheese salad or croissants or what as English we consider a cooked breakfast, also fresh fruit, cereal or yoghurt, toasting machine, vegetarian choices. Several choices of tea or coffee orange or apple juice so I fail to see how some people have considered this poor choice. Our room was cleaned daily with fresh towels if placed on the floor in fact some days even when we'd chosen to use the bath sheets a second time they were replaced. There was tea and coffee making facilities in the room and if we required more it was brought up straight away. Bedding was changed a couple of times during the week which was wonderful. Our only disappointment was the room was a little smaller than we would have liked, but that was our fault we took the operator's advice after he'd picked it not to book a superior double, we later wished we had, but then we only used it at bedtime so really that niggle is negligible ! The Reception staff were always offering a lovely smile whenever we returned, no matter who was on Reception or how long they'd been on duty with every query being dealt with there and then and if they were unsure they'd find out even telling us one day they felt it was quite a long way for us to walk to Schindler's factory, but suggesting we caught a tram and even writing the number down, where from and how much. On that particular point we felt we knew Best chose to walk, got lost but we caught the tram back!! Today our flight was quite a late one but several times we returned just to sit for a half hour or so before going out again obviously not in our room because we had checked out but in the lounge area and each time we received the same courteous smile and asked were we alright did we need anything. We hope to return to this hotel to visit the Christmas markets. The central location, cleanliness excellent staff / customer relations has made it a wonderful week in a beautiful exciting city and when I mentioned that we hoped to see them for the markets we were given their business card and asked to consider booking direct and to mention it will be a return visit. They will then ensure we get the best possible rate. Our thanks go to the staff for such a lovely stay
Booked through Easyjet at a very reasonable price. Centrally located staff very friendly and informative. Easyjet state it's a premium room however it is very small although it's a city break so the time you spend in the room is minimal. That said it's small but has everything you need.... toiletries, coffee and tea, bottled water, air conditioning, even an iron and board!! Breakfast was included and really lovely so there isn't bacon this is not the end of the world.... Eggs 3 ways, sausage, beans and full continental buffet style - gorgeous coffee and everything needed.
The hotel is very close to the old town and the central plaza (5min walking). The room is small but well decorated and clean. Small detail: one of the water bottle was already opened. Something more disturbing could be the noise from other rooms or corridor as the soundproofing insulation is not enough. The breakfast buffet is correct with a large choice.
Lovely hotel, very up to date and modern. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were small but clean and tidy. Breakfast had a good selection of international options to choose from. The hotel is in a great location for exploring, just off the old square.
Great hotel, it is the middle of the old city so it is close to all parts there, no need to take a taxi or anything. Great breakfast, loved the food, specifically that it some polish choices that were great to try and personal filled up the food fast. Chatted with the hotel on facebook through their facebook-page before I went to arrange stuff, like tour to Auschwitz, airport transfer and the one I chatted with (Iwona) was very good to explain and fix everything. Only con is that the hotel is next to a tram-line(many other hotels were) so sound was heard into the room from the tram and felt vibrations. The transfer bus driver Peter was very nice and pointed some things in the trip
We stayed here for a week with two friends the place is great. We had an upgrade to superior rooms on check in which was easy and very efficient. The staff on the front desk were friendly and very helpful. The rooms were a good size and very clean. Fresh bottle water was left every day. The rooms are well equipped, Iron and Ironing board, coffee and tea making equipment and a safe which was free of charge. OK the TV has limited channels in English but we found enough to watch for the limited time we were in the room. The location is brilliant a 10 min walk to the main square, on the way there is a smaller square with a few reasonable priced restaurants we settled on the Bierhall which has a good selection of beers, try a few sample first to find your favourite. Breakfast at the hotel was very good with a selection of goodies that should satisfy all tastes, no bacon I am sorry to say but nice sausage and scramble eggs. This is a nice hotel in a great location we would stay again next time we visit Krakow.
The hotel is so beautiful and clean. It's a modern twist in an old neighborhood of Krakow. We were nervous about the parking situation at first because parking is pretty tough in Krakow but the hotel is so accommodating. They had a private lot on site for a nominal fee. I just let the hotel know when I made the reservation that I would require on site parking. The hotel staff is great and the room was beautiful. The breakfast was also buffet style and delicious! The location is amazing. We left the car in the lot and didn't move it during our whole stay. The hotel is minutes away walking to Wawel castle and the main square of Stare Miasto (Old Town). It was perfect because Old Town is pretty loud at night but the hotel was tucked away on a quiet street minutes away (by foot) so we didn't have to worry about the noise. I'll definitely stay here again. My fiance and I were extremely happy staying here and I will definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and family.
The hotel itself is really lovely. We booked a twin room but there was double booking so we ended up in a double room which is quite small but it's okay as we are only here for two nights. They did offer to change our room tomorrow night but it's not really worth it as we leave so early the next morning. The hotel rooms is extra clean which is amazing Bathroom is very clean Water pressure isn't good. Location is excellent
We stayed at the best western Kraków a few nights ago. The location was wonderful. The breakfast was wonderful. The room was teeny. Much like a small room on a cruise ship. You could barely move in the room. Shower stall was also very small. Doubt if a large person could use it. The decor was strange. Hot pink everywhere. I do admit the rooms were very clean though. Again the location was great.
Myself and my partner stayed here middle of June. We were met by lovely reception staff. We arrived approx 10am, however check in is not until 2pm. We were able to leave our luggage in the storage room whilst we explored the city. Check in was really quick and the staff was lovely and friendly. The hotel room was a perfect size for us. Lots of storage space. There was a fridge in our room and a hairdryer. The beds were lovely and comfy too!! We booked Auschwitz through the hotel. Booked the day before, no fuss really easy to do. The staff are all helpful and helped us find our way around. The location of the hotel is amazing. Literally a 2 minutes walk to the main square, where you find lots of bars and restaurants. Would most certainly return. Any questions feel free to ask. :)
We stayed here for four nights in this grand hotel built around 1900 I would guess. As a light sleeper I requested a room facing away from Gertrudy as I am sure I would have been unsettled by the trams. Room 101 was spacious and comfortable with a high ceiling and a quirky decor. ( No Orwellian terrors here!) The situation is excellent 5 minutes from the main square, you could pop over at 11.00 pm as we did and it would still be teeming with life. There was a wide choice at breakfast and in our four mornings encountered no delay in finding a table or using the coffee machine. My impression is that most people came in groups but the staff had plenty of time to answer the questions of two independent travellers
Just got back from a 3 night stay at the Best Western Krakow old town. The hotel is situated in an ideal location being within walking distance to all that Krakow has to offer. The hotel itself is very well maintained & staff very very polite, pleasant & helpful. We arrived 21.45 on monday eve & the reception staff were welcoming & very informative. Breakfast consisted of a good selection for all tastes, eggs, sausage, beans etc along with cold meats & the more continental choices, all very fresh & enjoyable. There is also a vegan section if that takes your fancy. As my wife & i only had two full days we decided to just stay local & enjoy the city itself but the hotel does offer trips slightly further afield i.e Auschwitz,Salt Mines etc. Krakow itself is a wonderful city & if able we suggest taking the streets under your own leisure as most surrounding sights are easily within strolling distance. There are plenty of the very small tour electric run vehicles for those perhaps less able to get around, if you do choose this option then i suggest shopping around as prices can vary. The market square is bustling especially during the evening with plenty of restaurants offering an excellent value for money service, we sampled two of the many eateries on separate evenings & we more than happy with our meals. Being a fairly greedy couple (me more so) we enjoyed a 3 course meal with a few beers on both occasions for on or just under £50, I think we would struggle to get the same quality for that price here in the UK. Overall, lovely hotel set in a lovely city would definitely stay here again.
We stayed at the end of March. Great location and within walking distance of everything we visited in Kraków. The room was great, spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff were very helpful, great service. Definitely recommend this hotel.
Best western is always good ,had one night here and the location is very good staff helpful good breakfast that was included, the rooms are small but clean and ok,the only bad thing was the wifi was very slow and unstable
The location of the hotel meant that we could walk around Krakow, without relying on public transport or taxis. The hotel is immaculately clean and the room was quiet and comfortable. The staff were polite and helpful and booked tours to the salt mine and Auschwitz for us. I would recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here if we visit Krakow again!
Hotel is a good place to stay for a city break. The location is ideal for seeing the sights. We have stayed here for each of our last 4 trips to Krakow. Being opposite Planty Park is a real bonus. For those of you that fancy daytime nibbles there is a little shop nearby, which is great.
Only a relatively quick two night stay in Krakow. For this time, we had a very comfortable stay at the BW Plus Old Town. The hotel is located in the Old Town (of course!) and is an easy under five minute walk to the main square. Most of Krakow is very walkable and you are very central when based here. We arrived in Krakow from Warsaw at the main Glowny train station, while there are trams that pass the hotel, we elected to walk which took about 20 mins. Staff at the hotel were all very pleasant. Assistance with directions etc was offered at check-in along with a city map, which was appreciated. Our room was a superior room, despite that we found it a little on the small side. That said, we didn't spend a lot of time in it, so it was fine for the two nights. The bed is comfortable and we slept well. Like the room the bathroom and shower are small, but adequate. Our room included breakfast (and I suspect all rooms do as there was no room number checking upon entry to the dining room on either morning we were there) and the selection was very good and fresh. Like in most of Europe, I found the cold options here better quality than the hot. We also enjoyed a few drinks at the bar before we departed which were very nice and reasonably priced. The banter with the bar tender was also good. Overall, BW Plus Old Town is a good choice for any short stay in Krakow.
The hotel is in an excellent location to visit the Old Town, Castle. Jewish quarter and main centre. All with walking distance. It is very clean, good size rooms with clean bedding and towels daily. Very modern interior, well stocked bar. Breakfast has choices to suit all tastes and nationalities. The restaurant also serves evening meals if required. The staff are very friendly and helpful. 3 star hotel with 4 star amenities. Would definitely recommend.
Booked this hotel after I viewed the pictures of the rooms which make the rooms look a reasonable size. The rooms are very small and you cannot walk passed the bed unless you turn to the side. Most days the T-tray was never renewed or the water replenished. The room was never cleaned properly and one day the bin was the only cleaning duty that was completed. When I reported this to the reception, the only thing that happened was the Porter was sent to the kitchen for clean cups. I asked to speak to the Duty Manager, who was Iwona Suiekawska, but was told that she had went home that afternoon. No apology, no concern that the room had been missed, no interest on customer satisfaction. The only thing this hotel has going for it is location, however, there are many hotels that have similar locations and better service.
this hotel was spotlessly clean comfortable beds rooms cleaned every day food was great with a good choice reasonable prices in the bar staff was friendly very helpful, ideal for travelers who have mobility problems if booking ask for a low floor get the lift to 1st floor no stairs and walk in shower rooms large with iron and ironing board free wifi seating area out the back for smokers and if you want to sit and have coffee they also offer room service up till 9 with a small charge it is very easy access to all areas with trams running outside the door this is one hotel i will be using again
Great location just outside old town, easy walking to both Rynek Glowny (main square) and Kazimierz (Jewish Quarter). Very modern high standard finish. Staff efficient and friendly, excellent English (As were all we met in Krakow). Buffet breakfast was very good with an extensive choice, coffee machine delivered hot coffee! ??. Recommended.
I loved my stay in this hotel. It is in a fantastic location with views of the park and a short walk to the main square and Wawel castle. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. I would definitely highly recommend it and will be coming again.
Great location. We had selected primarily on proximity to the Old Town. So, a bit basic, but delivers very well on its principal selling point. As others attest LOUD decor is startlingly 70's Hugh Hefner. An aide to sobriety as navigating after a few drinks - let alone the morning after - would be high risk behaviour for both guests and cleaners. We heeded the rabbit hutch warnings of other reviews and booked one up from the standard room. (Also had the please-convert-our-twin-beds-to-a-double experience but resolved quickly without complaint). A bit tired but spacious and comfortable enough. Everything worked. One downside (and I have the lump to prove it) is the lethal head-height arches at each end of the room. My wife pronounced the breakfast appalling. It was fine - a mid-range hotel's breakfast buffet when you come down late and the first sitting has already been through (i.e. what she said).
Awesome little hotel that was close to so much! Only a few minutes to the Old Town Square and I wandered around the area seeing a lot of the "must see" spots. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great and hotel had a fun decor. I traveled alone and felt very safe in the area.
Firstly this hotel is in an excellent location, it's a few minutes from the main square but far enough to not be busy outside. The room was great, we stayed in 322 and found it to be a very good size with everything we could've needed in. Our issues seemed to be with the staff we encountered on our trip. When we arrived we asked reception if they could help by calling the tour provider so we could establish pick up times only to be told that if it wasn't booked with the hotel then it wasn't their problem. We encountered the same staff member when checking out who was very curt when we asked if we could leave our suitcase while we got breakfast. The rest of the staff seemed nice particularly the room cleaners we encountered, always said hello with a smile. We had breakfast twice while there, it was ok but when we arrived the first time everything was practically empty. Overall I would stay again purely for location.
This hotels is in a great location a few mins walk from main square an other attractions. It's v quiet with v quirky decor and clean. Breakfast has good choice if your an early riser a lot of variety. My only downside was I could only get coffee only without cake/snack if returning during the day to hotel for break.
Have just come back from a four night stay and cannot fault this hotel. On our night time arrival after a delayed flight we were told that we had a room upgrade to a larger room! The room was lovely, decorated in pink and black, at the front of the hotel, looking onto Planty park. The whole hotel is brightly decorated and spotlessly clean. Breakfast had a really good choice of cereals, bread ,cooked options of eggs and polish sausage etc, salad, cheese, cooked meats, pastries, 2 coffee machines with lots of coffee options and fruit juices. The hotel was within walking distance of many attractions which was perfect ! I would not hesitate in recommending this hotel to anyone who is visiting Kraków !
Had a very pleasant stay. Very helpful Staff. Clean and nice rooms. You Are right in the interesting part of the city. Supermarked and polish restaurant next Door. Tram close Fair price. Not noisy. Would choose again.
This hotel is extremely clean. All areas look new. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms, although not large have everything you need and again are very clean. If I was in Kraków again I wouldn't hesitate to book into this hotel
Excellent location 5 minutes walking distance to the centre and Wawel castle, friendly and helpful staff, clean and tidy rooms, breakfast was good with a decent selection of cooked and continental food but in the very busy periods there was a delay in getting some of the food out, this was not a major problem though as it was very busy during our stay.
Absolutely beautiful and clean hotel. Approximately 5mins walk to town square. Friendly staff. Little tour buggies that can take you around the town. Plenty information bureau to book trips to Auschwitz and salt mines which are both amazing.
We stayed here for a few days city break and we thought the location was perfect at a great value. we had a free upgrade of room to 319 which was very spacious with coffee making facilities, iron facility and shower area. The room was very clean and was tidied every morning by housecleaning. The hotel staff were very friendly and always said hello on coming in and out of the hotel which added a nice touch to the place. breakfast was reasonable with a selection of foods and drinks. The only reason i cant give top mark was our sleep quality was poor. every tram that went passed shook the room from late at night and commenced early morning. also it would have been nice to have a different selection of pillows from firm pillows to soft as the standard pillows were to uncomfortable however i am aware every has different needs for pillows. I personally like mine firm and these were to soft. But on the hole we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a few days way in the centre of Krakow.
This large modern hotel is situated on a main road just a 10 minute walk from the Old Town Market Square and close to Wawel Castle. Our room was very clean and comfortable and despite being in a front room looking onto the Main Street we heard no street noise. A problem with a broken plug socket was mended within 10 minutes of us reporting it so no complaints about hotel service. The reception staff / breakfast staff were also polite and very efficient. The breakfast was mixed hot and cold ,various cold meats, eggs, cereals, bread, cake, fruit juices and modern coffee machines and normal/ herbal teas. Really could not fault anything here. They even made us up a cold varied breakfast box for our early flight home. Minor quibble - WiFi was very poor in the room but fine in reception/ dining room. Decor is very bright and jazzy but that's personal taste. Overall I would recommend the hotel considering the price/ service and great location.
We returned yesterday from 3 night stay in the Krakow Best western. Our room was lovely and really quiet even with a window open. The room was really clean and well equipped. Breakfast has a lovely selection of cooked and continental style goodies and again the dining room is clean and easy to use. Finally this hotel is well located being about 10 mins from the main square and the staff were professional and helpful. We will be back.
Location, breakfast and stay was brilliant! Very friendly staff! The breakfast was nice and the room was very clean and modern! Location is brilliant as your about a 5 minute walk from the main square. If visiting Krakow I would highly recommend.
Lovely hotel, modern interior, friendly staff, lots of choice for breakfast. The only thing we could “pick” at would be the double bed we stayed in was just two singles pushed together, nether the less we wasn't that bothered about that as it was just as comfy.
Great location. First time in Krakow. Staff very friendly. Breakfast not great. Caters for continental cuisine but plenty to eat. Food was of good quality but not used to cheese, cold meats etc for breakfast. You won't go hungry but don't expect a full english nreakfast
The hotel is very central to the Old Town. I would suggest the decor is clean but 'quirky' and very comfortable. The Ladies on Reception were so very helpful and went out of their way to help us enjoy Krakow and find our way about. One lady in particular spent time on our arrival to make sure we knew how to find our way around and get the best from our short visit to this amazing City. Thank you Margaret but, I don't want to forget your colleagues who were also very kind. The room is comfortable with the same 'quirky' abstract carpet that seems to be a feature of the hotel design. Breakfast is Buffet style but plenty to tempt the more discerning palate. The hotel is one of the best places to stay if you wish to travel in and around the City. The Mainline train station is about 15 minute walk from the hotel Public transport in the form of Trams or Mainline Trains are easy to use and very cheap, it's fun to try. There is a large Shopping complex (Galleria Krakowska) at the station to peruse some spending opportunities. The number 3 Tram is a good link to the Schindler Museum in the opposite direction, over the river, then a short walk to the Museum. Across the road is the Old Town and about 10 minutes walk to the main square. The architecture is wonderful and so well preserved. You have easy access to Wawel Castle, and the Main Square which is well worth a visit.
Loved the hotel! Very modern and clean. Breakfast provided ticked all the boxes and location was perfect - only about a five minute walk to the main square! My partner and I are booking again this year, totally recommend this hotel!
Just back from a 3 night stay here and more than happy we chose this place. We arrived around mid-day hoping to be able to drop off bags and go exploring until the room was ready but it was already made up and happy to let us in early. Reception staff were always smiling and helpful and nothing too much bother, we forgot our plug adaptor so borrowed one for our stay. The room was really clean and we got the one over reception with the balcony. Good sized wardrobe with a safe, tea making facility and a big TV with the usual couple of English speaking channels. Yes the trams are noisy but as we were out all day and night so by the time we got back, nothing was going to keep us awake. Great location too, out of the main door the path opposite to the left leads direct to Wawel Castle and if you turn right, take first left and second right your in the main square. Breakfast from 7am - 10am and a good selection of hot and cold and kept very clean. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Stayed here for 3 nights this month. By far the best 3 star hotel I have ever stayed in. The room was small but fine for a couple. It was Spotlessly clean. The room had everything you could need- Hair dyer, iron safe, water, tea and coffee. Breakfast was good for a 3 star hotel. Different types of breads, Vegan options, Different types of coffee, Salad, fruit, ham, cheese, frankfurters, scrambled eggs, mushrooms, Orange juice, and Smoothies. However the The eggs and frankfurters were only Luke warm. This didn't really bother us. Breakfast starts 7-10. The WiFi in the room was very good. Staff were very friendly and did everything they could to help us if we needed it. We booked the tour to Auschwitz and the salt mines through the hotel. Also we had an early checkout and the hotel supplied us with a boxed breakfast which was a nice touch. Location of the hotel is very good. 5 minute walk to the square and 2 minute walk to the castle. Tram stop near the hotel. Supermarket right next door. Would definitely recommend this hotel if you are visiting krakow.
I have stayed in this hotel twice now as I like it so much. It has a very modern décor and efficient staff, a plentiful breakfast and only a few minutes walk to Wavel Castle and the Old Town Square. I will stay here again next time i'm in Krakow.
Needed a hotel for 21 guys for a stag weekend and this looked perfect in terms of location. Can also say that Best Western are great in terms of organising group bookings. The hotel itself is perfect for short stays. The rooms aren't huge but they're clean and modern although a few of the guys complained about the noise from the trams. The location is the main thing though and you'll be in the main square in five minutes by foot. Didn't have breakfast myself but a few of the guys did and said it was just your basic fayre.
Good hotel in good location. Very close to the main square. Easy walking distance to all the sites in Krakow. Rooms are clean and warm. Breakfast is good with plenty of options. Reception staff are very polite and helpful. Would recommend this hotel.
Lovely modern hotel, spotless room , central to all needs , staff polite , breakfast ample. Perfect hotel to visiting all areas of Kracow , this hotel is modern light and airy ( very monacrome ) great bar for the evening
my sister and I recently visited krakow rand stayed here from the 1st to the 4th. The hotel was very clean and pleasant to stay in. The hotel was situated next to everything and everywhere we wanted to visit. Excellent! I found most of the staff friendly and really helpful. Our breakfast was fine always something I could eat or drink. Only bit of criticism was the sparkling water in the room... I would of much preferred still water but that's me just being picky. Yes you can hear traffic and trams but honestly did not bother me in the slightest as I was aware that I was staying in a busy area. Fantastic experience. Will most definitely be back.
Stayed here for 3 nights with family as we wanted to see Krakow and the Christmas markets. Hotel is very central, about a 10 minute walk from the train station where you get off from the airport. It is also about a 5 minute walk from the main square. It is big and modern and bright upon entry. When we checked in there wasn't an overly friendly greeting nor any advice about where to go or what to do. Now that personally didn't bother me as I had it all planned anyway, however if you were someone who needed extra help I wouldn't consider the staff approachable. Rooms very small (but very cheap). Again this didn't bother us as we're literally just sleeping there. My parents who are light sleepers found it hard to sleep with the noise from trams and traffic outside which started early in the morning. We are from Ireland and wouldn't be fussy eaters but the breakfast was not to our liking whatsoever. It was traditional polish food, pastries, breads and coffee. Would recommend this hotel as it's central and affordable.
Could not ask for a better spot, easy walking distance to the Christmas markets and the castle. Close to countless nice restaurants and shops. The room was a good size, well equipped and nicely decorated, comfortable bed, a couple of English channels on the TV, safe, kettle, iron and fridge. The shower was OK, but small - no bath, toiletries in wall hung containers and it was a combined shower gel and shampoo - not the best. Once again, the hair drier was in the bathroom, but there was plenty sockets to plug in your own, but no handy mirror. Our only real problem, was the noise from passing trams, which start at 4.45am and go on until midnight, at approximately one minute intervals, so ask for a room at the back! Breakfast was not extensive, but quite adequate, lunch was good, we did not eat dinner in the hotel. The bar is small and closes early.
Very good location near the Wawel castle/hill and 5 min from the Central square Rynek Glowny Very clean rooms and cute colour insite Tasty breakfast .. 900m from Central train station Friendy waiters and staff always anwers all to you nead
We were very satisfied with our choice of the hotel for the New Year's Eve. The hotel has excellent location, good service and nice rooms. The rooms are clean and comfortable even not too big but cosy. We liked the jazz theme! The restaurant served a substantial breakfast and we were happy with the New Year's Gala Dinner food. We stayed two nights but would have gladly stayed longer. Good service and friendly staff.
Not the most luxurious hotel you'll ever stay in, but it has everything we were looking for. Excellent location (short walk to most of Old Town and City Center), very clean, helpful staff, very good breakfast, bar, restaurant, and nice rooms. Bed was awesome...shower was large. We had zero issues with our hotel and stay. Again, a great value and very comfortable.
Location is perfect- short walk to the main square or 15mins to the Castle Team can't do enough to help you with bags, tours or information Breakfast questionable but enough to get you going in the morning Rooms very nice - all modern
My husband and I stayed here for three nights while visiting Kraków. Decoration is a bit bizarre but the rooms were comfy and the hotel was in a great location. We had breakfast there which was a standard continental breakfast and we ate a dinner there one night which was fine.
The hotel has a nice location by the park surrounding the old town, with only 10-15 minutes walk to most attractions. It occupies several buildings so there is a charming confusion of stairs and floor levels to find the room. The room was nice but small. My only problem was the double bed which felt like sleeping on a haystack: two single narrow beds with very soft mattresses put together made me almost roll out of bed during the night. OK breakfast but why the bread and croissants was stale and dry, when the next door grocery had them fresh and delicious I cannot understand. So a nice place that could do with fixing a few things, but in september they will sell the rooms anyway and perhaps the tourists do not come back to often to make it worthwhile.
A recently refurbished hotel, a short work from the centre of the Old Town, this was a great choice for a few days in Krakow. The staff were really helpful and friendly; the room was very comfortable, and breakfast was excellent. Also very good value for money.
This hotel has an excellent location within easy reach of the Old Town, the Castle and the old Jewish Quarter. There is no need to use taxis or trams to get around. The staff were pleasant and helpful. We used their driver to return to the airport,he was a very nice man. Our room was small but had everything we needed. The decor was not to my taste but it was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good although they do run out of some items towards 10am!
Spent 4 nights here on a city break to Krakow. Hotel is in a fab location, not even a 5 minute walk to the Old Town Square, and 5 mins from Wawel Castle too. Hotel was very clean, room was just an adequate size, but shower could have been larger. Breakfast was the main thing which let the hotel down. Unappealing items, things not replenished, tables not wiped between guests. Little things which would make such a big difference if rectified. Toast every day for me! Just a heads up, we booked trips to Aushwitz and Zakopane through reception and i couldn't fault the service. Both trips ran very smoothly. We will not be visiting Krakow again, but would recommend this hotel, maybe on a room only basis.
This hotel is just 5 - 10 minutes walk from the main town square and so is centrally located. It has recently had a refurbishment, but why, in what looks to be a beautiful building, did they choose this decor? It is completely zany in bright white, black and fuchsia. I hated it! The room was a substantial size with a tiny bathroom (with a shower only), built into the corner. Why did they not allocate more space for the bathroom? The room itself had a high ceiling all painted black with bright white strip lights suspended from the ceilings in a zig zag design. The carpet reflected this in black with white zig zag stripes. I could live with this, but then the room layout must have been designed by a man! The dressing table area, as in photos from the hotel, show the TV centrally positioned over them, with no mirror. The only mirror was on the wardrobe door by the bed. I was sharing with a friend and so we were both trying to get ready and do makeup at the same time and so whilst my friend used the bathroom, I sat by the wardrobe door to do my makeup and hair. The bed was quite comfortable, and so, with all the walking done around town, I slept quite well. The breakfast was okay, but interestingly, the day we got up early to visit Auschwitz, the choice was so much better than on any of the other days; they seemed to run out of things later into the service.
The best western is this kind of hotel where do not anything bad but nothing great ... Average Location is very good. 5 min walk from the city hart and 2 minutes from best Japanese restaurant A small supermarket at 2 min The breakfast is very correct. I tried the laundry and the crew delivered promises. On the improvement path, I would say being a little bit more welcoming Room size is reasonable but shower is little bit small even for a regular guy - my room number is 411 Room on the back side are quietest than on the street, so if you can try a room on the back I would not recommend the hotel as such but if you have to go there you will not be disappointed compared to European 3 stars, The price is also in line with the quality so... Why not
Had a 4 night stay here and everything was exactly what we wanted. The service, food and staff were brilliant. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The rooms were lovely and always clean. Coffee/tea facilities in room. The hotel is approximately 10 mins walk to the square where all the Christmas stalls are. 15 - 20 mins in the other direction takes you to a brilliant shopping complex with all the top stores. For smokers there is an area at the back of the hotel to sit and relax with a coffee/drink and enjoy a cigarette. I haven't got one negative thing to say about this hotel. I would recommend this to my friends and family. Thank you all for making our trip that bit special.
Had a 4 night stay at this hotel and everything was fine from start to finish, all the staff were helpful and pleasant, good buffet breakfast to start the day.The hotel is in a great position for exploring Krakow and it's surrounds and near enough to walk from the central railway station after the train journey from the airport.Blizzard conditions as we arrived which added to the atmosphere of our stay. All in all a great city break whether you visit in summer or winter. The trips to Auschwitz and birkenau and salt mines are a must do on this break, without elaborating on the reasons why.
I have been in Krakow more than 50 times staying in about 5-6 hotels. This was my first stay in BW hotel which was alright for two nights. The breakfast is nothing to highlight but decent. Beds a little short as i'm 1,90 m tall.
What a brilliant hotel, perfectly placed to explore krakow and a great base for any tours. Good sized clean rooms and the decor is brilliant. Plenty of choice for the buffet breakfast, will be returning to krakow and this hotel would be at the top of our list.
Stayed here for 4 nights. The hotel is in a great location. Everything is within walking distance. We didnt bother with a rail card. The room was very small but it had everything we needed, ironing board, kettle, fridge, safe and hair dryer. The hotel is very modern inside with access to a computer for news weather etc. Hotel is very clean and tidy, so was our room. Would try a best western again after this hotel stay.
Negatives first. Really strange smell in the hotel, breakfast was poor choice and cold. Positives, immaculately clean, decent prices in the bar, comfy bed, fantastic location, 5 mins from the main square and 15 mins from the Jewish quarter. We would go back, but perhaps not with breakfast as there is more than enough selection of eateries within a 10 min walk
Stayed here for 4 nights Mon to Fri, pleasantly surprised at the modern decor, might not be to every ones taste but we liked it. Check in very smooth with good receptionist, room 219 was again very quirky with the decoration but nice and clean and modern, next the bar, very stylish for a hotel bar and the bar staff Michael and Magic Mike were great and the vodka was good and not too expensive. We had a bar snack and I would recommend the Chicken and the Club sandwich, all in all a good experience. Almost forgot the location is only 5 minutes walk from Main Square, and tram stops virtually outside hotel, reception staff very helpful if you want to do your own thing rather than organised tours.
The decoration of this hotel is definitely funky and maybe not for everybody. but I found it refreshing. Good location for sightseeing, very nice big room, good bathroom, good cleaning service, good coffeemaker in bedroom., very good breakfast .
Stylish and clean in an ideal location for sightseeing. Large room with tea/coffee making facility, hair drier and iron and board. TV mainly in polish but the usual news channel in English. Facility on TV to connect own device. Excellent free high speed Wifi. Good selection at breakfast to suit all tastes, but food not very warm. Excellent bar but barman had to be found at times. However, Reception always found him. In an excellent position being about 10 minute gentle walk to The Main Square, and the same distance from Warsaw Castle. Reception arranged our trips out and taxi back to airport
We were Krakow only one night and stayed in this hotel. Check in was a breeze and the man at the counter was very friendly and helpful pointing out points of interest. the place had a "cool" vib to it, very modern chic..We supposedly had a upgraded double room. The room was comfortable shower a bit small. My father had a single non upgraded room and it was tiny, enough room for a bed and bathroom Period. A great perk was the complimentary breakfast. The location of the hotel was superb only a five minute walk to the city square.
Recently refurbished. Very clean and comfortable, safe in the room along with a mini fridge. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast, good quality and excellent range of quality food. Would stay there again. Good location with easy access to all the main sights in Krakow. Few minutes walk to the centre and well placed for public transport.
Stayed at this hotel for a family city break in Krakow. It's in a great location just five minutes from main square. Bright and modern looking interior in a beautiful old building. Rooms are a bit small but adequate with free safe, fridge and complimentary water, tea and coffee. Beds are really comfortable. Breakfast is a bit repetitive but tasty and coffee is good. Staff are helpful. I stayed in a room on back so view wasn't great but it was quiet and my daughter stayed on the front with a decent view but was woken in the morning by the sound of trams. Only criticism is that the breakfast room is very very brightly lit and could be a problem if you have a hangover. All in all I would definitely recommend this hotel.
The location is perfect, only 5 minute walk to the main square and Wawel Castle. Only a ten minute walk to the Jewish district and the fabulous shopping mall. No need to use public transport at all. The rooms are very modern and spotlessly clean. The staff were all very friendly and extremely helpful. There was a full buffet breakfast every morning in the restaurant which catered for everybody. We had such a wonderful time in Krakow that we will definitely return and will certainly use this hotel again. Honestly this was one of the best hotel experiences that we have ever had.
We were greatly impressed with this hotel. Situated within walking distance of the main square and many attractions. The tram stop is also right on your doorstep. We didn't eat here but the friendly staff where happy to recommend very good eateries. The bed was quite comfortable, room and the whole building was spotless. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would happily stay here again.
It's a 5 minute walk to Old Town or Wawel Castle and a 12 minute walk to the Jewish District. We never had to take public transportation. The hotel looks like it was recently renovated and the staff at the front desk are knowledgeable and very helpful. There is no reason why you shouldn't stay at this hotel!
Can't beat this location - 2 streets from the beautiful Old town Extremely comfortable and efficient service Everything you could want in your room Lovely breakfast But, whoever made the interior design decision was tripping I think Neon white, neon pink and jet black Harsh lights, chrome Perspex and white plastic No comfortable seating in the hotel
Used this for a two night stay and were sited in the wing at the back which was very quiet. The whole place is clean, funky and pleasant. Ideally situated for walking to the sights and restaurants. Reception were welcoming and as we were driving the use of their large and accessible car park was a plus. Beds were comfortable and free wi-fi was good. The only downer was breakfast was not the best and crowded at peak times
This hotel is located very central, which makes it easy to explore Krakow by foot. We had a nice stay here: beds were comfortable and rooms had all we needed. If you are planning to stay here, ask for a room not facing the street as the tram starts running at 5am and is rather loud.
We have just spent four nights at this lovely hotel, rooms really modern and clean , staff friendly and helpful and breakfast was really lovely with a good range of food , the hotel is ideally situated for access to main square and old Jewish quarter too , would definitely recommend this hotel and we can't wait to come back and stay :-)
The best thing about the hotel is its location, a short walking distance from the main square of Krakow. The room I stayed in at the 3rd floor was OK and clean, a bit cramped. It had all standard amenities except a mini bar. The Wifi was reasonably fast. Room service orders were delivered promptly. The breakfast buffet is limited but acceptable. Prices are reasonable. On one of the days I was in Krakow, it was raining hard and the hotel had no umbrella, this can be easily improved. The elevators stop at landings in between floors, so one has to take the staircase to reach the rooms, up or down, in any case.
Great hotel location for access to all places of interest. Staff extremely helpful, speaking good English. Good selection at breakfast and there is a restaurant for evening meals. Room was clean and adequate for us. Tea/coffee facilities in room and also safe at no extra charge! Iron and ironing board in room....no extra charge.
An excellent hotel. Perfect for a city break. Everything provided in the room so you don't have to take a hair dryer or iron. Very clean, lovely staff and great service. I would definitely go back again. A short 5 minute walk from the main old town square which was a perfect base for sight seeing.
Nice clean hotel in a great location, rooms are a little bit small but okay for a small break. Breakfast is ok but is quite busy and they are not very quick a bringing fresh food. Friendly and helpful staff.
I hated this hotel because of its décor. Black and White psychedelic. The bed was uncomfortable. The bar closed not to a timetable but when the barman/maid chose to close it. Everything else was fine, good food, good location, helpful staff.
The good points about this hotel are its location within easy walking distance of the old town and the very good choice of food in the buffet breakfast. The only real negative is the room size but it is just about adequate if you have a small case. Strangely the lifts go to half-floors and you therefore have to take your case up half a flight of stairs to reach your room.
Best Western Plus Krakow Old Town was a hotel we stayed in last year were we had a great stay and so on our latest holiday to this beautiful city we decided to stay here again and our stay was as good if not better. The hotel is beautiful,we were checked in immediately by a very pleasant receptionist, our room on the 4th floor ,room 407 was Superb,a lovely comfortable bed each for my twin brother Stephen and I,flat screen TV,English news and documentary channels ,channel 32,33,34,tea and coffee making facilities,an iron and ironing board, fridge, safe, lots of cupboard space, nice shower ,hair dryer ,in a spotlessly clean hotel room that was cleaned daily, the hotel also has super quick and free wi- fi ,the staff also leave bottles of fizzy and still water in the room which is a lovely touch and much appreciated. The breakfast is Superb,a varied choice of hot and cold offerings, fresh juice and cold water, herbal teas and coffees,it's a breakfast well worth getting up for,the bar is a great meeting place and serve some great drinks. Location wise this hotel could not be better placed ,it's only a short stroll to the beautiful Old Town and it's only a 10 minute walk to the wonderful Jewish Quarter ( kazimierz District ) and there's great transport links with tram number 4.8.10.13.18 dropping you off at the hotel . The hotel is first class but as good as the Hotel is it's the staff that make or break a hotel and the staff here are Superb, the staff are friendly, helpful and very attentive and made our stay fantastic. This hotel is located on Up.Sw.Gertrudy in an area of outstanding beauty facing the lovely park and close to the castle. I am back in Krakow next year and in will be staying no were else but this hotel.
This is an amazing hotel, spot, essay clean and very helpful, friendly staff. The rooms were a good size with welcome air conditioning as it was very hot when we visited. Great location, just a short stroll from the square, trams, planty and castle. Buffet breakfast had a variety every morning and there was something to suit every taste. It is on a busy street but our room was very quiet and the beds were comfortable.
It's only three months since my last stay here so everything is still good, although it's worth mentioning that the bar is now finished so you can get a drink. The selection is good enough and the surroundings very pleasant. My room was bit smaller than last time, and I suspect that they vary in size according to no rational plan, so if you're wondering about the variance in prices, that's why. I ate in the hotel restaurant this time and, while impressed with the fare, didn't feel it really warranted the prices. The restaurant itself is in the one-and-only eatery in the place (where breakfast is served) so the ambiance was also a little wanting. Still my go-to hotel on Krakow, though, for sheer overall value for money.
When you book a premium double room, you do not expect such a room that you can not even move in two. There is no information on the Booking.com page that would allow the customer to choose a more comfortable room or just change hotel.
The staff was amazing and very helpful. They went above and beyond to help us. It is a beautiful hotel close to everything. The way they modernized this building was very nice. The staff had a car ready for us for our departure and breakfast to go.
This is a wonderful hotel. The location is great. One does not have to walk far to find a restaurant. There is a little supermarket a few steps away. The tram runs right past the hotel, with a stop just meters away. A short walk gets you to the old town. Our check in was quick and efficient, which is what you need when you have spent nearly 24 hours travelling and you arrive after 9 pm. The lady that checked us in, was great. All the staff we interacted with were warm and friendly. The hotel decor is modern. All the public areas reflect the same theme. Our room decor was also modern and fresh. The bed was comfortable, and the TV was huge. We were able to watch the IAAF World Athletic Championships without a problem. Just a small warning though, do not expect to find many English language channels. I only recall coming across 1 news channel in English. I have 2 gripes about the room. The biggest is that is probably the tiniest room I have ever been booked into. Unless you have no luggage, there is no space to store your suitcase. We solved that problem by putting our cases on top of the cupboard. This is not an option if you are a slightly shorter person. My other gripe was the location of the bedroom safe. It is located at the bottom of the cupboard. As a result of the lack of space, I had to lie down to access it and use it. The bathroom and shower cubicle is also very small, but with brand new fittings. The breakfast was ok. Reasonable selection of food, but there was very little variation of the menu. I really enjoyed my stay at the Best Western Plus Hotel Krakow. But for the tiny, half shoebox room and crazy location of the safe, I would have given a 5/5 rating. I was debating with myself over a 3 or 4 rating, but because there was very little else I can criticize, I gave it the rating I did.
Excellent hotel, very clean rooms and clean shower The staff Service is excellent !! Highly recommend:)) thank you very much for all the great staying and all the service that we received/ Good breakfast
I've stayed here a couple of times now, and will go back for one reason above all others. It's a great position, and the rooms are different. The decor is cheerful and bright, which when you travel regularly it can make a big difference at the end of a stressful day of airports, hire cars, traffic, cops and meetings. The bar is not really very inviting and I've never dealt inclined to dine here for the same reason. The breakfast is good and the staff work hard to help with any requests. As a bonus the Hotel has a car-park on site, which is charged, but it's very reasonable and safe.
Stayed at best western hotel old town early august for 4 nights. room was small but it was only for myself and my friend (who had her own room next door) were out and about each day. the staff were very friendly and helpful even confirming all our tours and arranging to be picked up from the hotel for us. we ate in the restaurant and the meals were really delicious, breakfast was included and plentiful. the hotel is within walking distance to attractions and it is nice to sit in the park opposite to watch the world go by. would highly recommend this hotel
Be aware! I have stayed in many hotels and the rooms in this one are ridiculously small. To the point that I find hard to believe that our room is a double room. You can fit a double bed but that's all. You add two adults and they can hardly move. On top of this I couldn't sleep due to the noise from the very busy road where the hotel is located. And believe me I normally sleep all night long without a problem. There's even a tram rail with lots of activity from early morning. I will not come back.
We spent 5 days in July for our 20th wedding anniversary in Krakow, staying in the Best Western Plus Krakow Old Town. As most people have already commented the hotel has had considerable refurbishment undertaken resulting in a very clean contemporary look which, if you don't like sharp lines would perhaps cause some concern, but it was very pleasing to our eye. We were shown to a lovely room on the newly refurbished floor but unfortunately there was a problem with the toilet and we were moved to another very nice and spacious room in the older annexe. The staff were excellent in dealing with our problem and sorted it out whilst we ate dinner in the restaurant. Until now we have never visited a city where the prices in the hotel bar were almost the same as what you would pay in a local bar!! In fact, the cost of food and drink in Krakow is very reasonable and the quality is good. The location of the hotel was excellent just on the outside of the ‘planty', a beautiful green space with trees and seats that surrounds the Old Town centre. Plenty of horse drawn carriages if you wanted to take a tour but we found everything to be within walking distance. Good restaurants everywhere and a central square that must have been 300 metres across. Whilst we were there we took a day tour to Auschwitz where we visited both camps with a guide. Unfortunately the temperature was in the 30's and there was no shade at the second camp so we were quite worn out with the heat, but it was well worth the visit. Very moving but made you feel angry at the same time. Before you enter the first camp you go through a security check and you must be dressed respectfully to be allowed entry. Long shorts are OK but no strapless tops! Also no large bags allowed. Be prepared for a long walk too! We will definitely be visiting Krakow again and would recommend the Best Western Krakow Old Town.
A surprisingly modern look inside the hotel. Very convenient location in the Old Town area. We like to walk whenever possible, so was great for us. Across the street from a lovely park where we walked often. We had booked a few tours in advance and didn't know if the tour company would pick us up at this hotel. They did not, but very convenient 5 minute walk from the hotel where the tour company picked us up. A small grocery store next door to the hotel was very handy as well. Highly recommend this hotel.
Upon arrival, I found a modern hotel inside an historic building. To my eyes, it appeared the hotel had been freshly renovated with new carpets and painted walls. My room was wonderfully bright. In other hotels, I found the rooms dimly lit so that I had problems reading my guidebook and computer. Not the case here. Second, the air conditioning was marvellous. I hit Krakow during a heat wave and my room was a wonderful oasis when I returned from touring around. Third, I had not counted on all the day trips I could take. To include the nearby salt mine, I enquired about a late check-out and staff seemed only too happy to accommodate. When I did check-out, there were a couple of more things I wanted to see so the staff safely secured my luggage until I returned around 5:00 pm. Finally, the location was great. While not exactly "in" the old town, the hotel is right beside it about halfway between the city square and Wawel Castle. What a great location. All in all, it was a wonderful stay.
We decided to hotel it for the latest in our European short tour and we couldn't have chosen a better situated place to "work" from. Situated on the Planty part of Old Town and within walking distance of the central tourist attractions the hotel is very pleasant (with a slight rumble from the passing trams outside). The Front Counter staff were very helpful in confirming our existing excursion bookings and providing info on applicable tram routes. The restaurant breakfast bar was extensive and catered for our needs admirably, fortunately we had time constraints - otherwise we may have ended up looking like a pair of beach balls with fingers! Hotel and room decor was very light and airy and the beds were comfortable. May I suggest a few English language TV programmes or subtitles? My wife and I were very happy with BW Krakow Old Town, and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Krakow, we shall certainly stay here when we return in the future to add to our Krakow experiences.
Check in was a breeze the gentleman checking us in was very efficient. They give you guides to krakow and tour options. The rooms are modern, very clean and nice, we were in 108 which had a balcony. It was small but it was fine for two people. Our shower did leak which we told them about on check out. The rooms have comp water, tea and coffee, are cleaned daily. Wifi in all the rooms works well. Breakfast was great, proper coffee, vegan options, cooked and continental options, fruit, juices. Great location, minutes walk to the main old square, there is a great laundry place and a gym if that interests you about 10 mins down the road. Would highly recommend this hotel.
The rooms were ridiculously small and cramped. There is no reason to provide a luggage rack when there is no room to open it up. But the place was very clean, the bathroom functional. Breakfast was a nice spread. We were able to eat on the back terrace on a warm summer morning. The staff was cordial. Important: the elevator does not stop on each floor, but on each HALF floor. So you still have stairs to climb to get to your floor.
Hotel was situated in a fantastic location, staff are extremely professional and pleasant. Everything within walking distance and didn't spend too much time in the hotel as Kraków is truly a beautiful city the hotel was just a place to lay my head.
Nice clean hotel, right at the entrance to the old city of Krakow. Very efficient. Even has parking. And then I got to my room. I had to choose what do do first: put down my two small bags or get in as the top is so small, so tiny, that, once you put down a (laptop) bag you need to hop over it. On my remark at reception if there are any smaller rooms the answer was "Yes, we also have single rooms with a single bed.
A five minute walk to the main square. Hotel spotless, beds are a bit small. Breakfast not to my liking, but i'm use to irish food. Hotel staff very friendly, helpful and polite. A beautiful park across the road from you. Very quiet for a central hotel. No need for buses, trams or taxis if staying here.Within walking distance to most central attractions.
Given the diversity of reviews on this property, we were very concerned. We had a premium room on the backside of the hotel. We were there for five nights. We found our room to be clean, spacious and quiet. The staff was pleasant and professional. The dining room was large and well stocked for breakfast. The location was perfect both for old town and for the Kazimierez district. The only negatives were the VERY tiny shower and the coffee. The coffee machine in the dining room makes every type of coffee but the good old Americano black coffee that works as my daily starter button: crisis averted when I discovered how to make acceptable instant coffee in the room.
Excellent location, within a 5 minute easy walk to the Old Town. Location. Would be marked 5. Hotel is lovely and clean with new decoration and interiors. However, the rooms are tiny, not just small but very tiny. Not for those who feel claustrophobic. Even if they made 2 rooms into one, the rooms would still be tiny. You can't walk comfortably around the bed and you certainly couldn't pass another guest in the room; they'd need to sitting on the bed or standing in the bathroom. If I stretched both arms out I could almost touch both walls in the bathroom too! On the plus side, the room offered air conditioning and a safe(although the safe is located at the bottom of the wardrobe, near the head of the bed, and it's difficult not to knock yourself off the bedside table accessing the safe). Breakfast is mediocre and not up to the standard we are used to.
A modern, clean and great value for money hotel. The room was small but had everything you needed; Air con, hairdryer, safe, big TV, shampoo & shower gel and coffee kit. They where happy to provide twin rooms. The hotel bar was small but very modern nice area to sit down out the back of the hotel. Breakfast was fair a typical Europe. Stayed at the Best Western Krakow Old Town for a weekend break and would definitely stay there again. The hotel is in a great location only a short walk from the city centre (5-10 mins to the main square). About a 15 min walk from the river. Also there is a tram line right outside the hotel.
Stayed in this hotel 28th 29th June 2017. Hotel is very much along the boutique type of makeover. I stayed in a Superior room which comprised of a single room with two single bed+ acceptable shower room. The beds are the smallest singles I have ever slept in (no more than 900mm wide 3ft) If you move in your sleep you well end up on the floor. Black out curtains were good. Breakfast was acceptable. A/C worked OK Any English channel on the TV was constantly breaking up.
Booked this hotel last September for 3 rooms for 3 couples as we required parking and we liked the looked of the the traditional rooms. When we arrived the hotel had just completed a total upgrade so everything was clean and new but we all thought it was not to the usual Best Western model. All of the carpets were black and white striped along the corridors and in the rooms but it was all at different angles and totally off the wall! It does not do well for OCD as I wanted to straighten what looked like lots of rugs thrown around the floor lol. The beds were 2 singles as the Superior doubles do not have double beds but we were told you could push them together but you still had 2 single duvets so no point really. I am slim but found the beds very narrow and other members of our group were unable to turn over in them for the 2 nights we were there but we all took it in good humour. The bathrooms being new are lovely and clean but there really is nowhere the put clothes or wash bags so my husband lost out for the one wash bag space. Our friends in the same room type but in the annexe said their bathroom was very large so worth asking when you book. We were in the main hotel but at the back facing over the annexe and car park which was a God send as there is a tram stop right outside the front of the hotel which was noisy. The first night I thought there was an earthquake as the entire building was shaking but it was the trams going past (we were on the 4th floor). Once I knew what the shaking was it didn't bother me anymore really. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful and very proficient at their job. The small seating area opposite reception was extremely uncomfortable with terrible bowl chairs which you can see on the hotel website. When we were waiting for our group to come down we ended up sitting on the stairs! Maybe something that should be changed to more traditional seating. The breakfast was very good but if you came down in the last 45 minutes of service it was very hit and miss as to what was left. The location of this hotel is spot on. We walked both evenings up to the main square for dinner and it was a nice short walk and very safe. Overall the hotel was ok but totally not what we were expecting after booking before any upgrades were made. That being said I would stay there again but if next time we do not require parking I may look elsewhere as there are so many options.
Booked this hotel for a business trip, and due to traffic we arrived late. Tried to check to be told the hotel had double booked and we couldn't stay there. Luckily there were rooms available at another hotel, this was provided by this hotel. We were also told that there would be no charges, and that the hotel had settled the payments.....Or so we thought. At no point were we told from reception that charges would still apply for the rooms we couldn't and didn't stay in. We checked our company credit card for our expenses, only to find that the hotel we didn't stay at charges us. Not only did they charge for the rooms, I was charged for two rooms. One room I could claim expenses on, and the other I can't. Now I have to pay for this room out of my personal money. I have been offered no refund, and I was also told it was my mistake and my misunderstanding. I would definitely recommend staying in krakow, as it's a lovely vibrant city. However, I will would not choose a Best Western Hotel, if this the level of customer service they can offer.
It is quite beautifully appointed with new, very modern design and updated interior. their room was crisp and clean with the new linens. The location is excellent directly across from all the special places you need to see in the center of town- excellent for a comfortable walk and sightseeing. HOWEVER, The rooms are extremely small, the bed is small, the bathroom is reminiscent of your basic cruise ship accommodations. The room amenities are very 'basic.' We were glad that we had our own soap, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. The breakfast is nice but it isn't the elegant European breakfast we've come to expect.
I stayed for 4 nights at the Best Western Krakow with my husband in May and we found it to be very well located. As it was our first time in Krakow we chose it because of it. The hotel is nice and staff speak good English - very polite but not particularly warm. Perhaps they should be told that besides being efficient a smile once in a while does no harm. Breakfast is well served and we really enjoyed the variety. The room however was one of the smallest we've ever been in this hotel category - as small as one would expect if staying at an Ibis.
We had stayed 2 nights at this hotel And the only good thing about it is the location which is close to the old town . Rooms are tiny as a matter of fact I never stayed in such a small room. No place to put the luggage and the bad is small and the shower very small and you need to do acrobatics in order to move around. Breakfast is only fair the staff not friendly ,the TV did not work all the time that we stayed there. Would not recommend it !!!
Excellent location to the Old Town Very Clean rooms - avoid a room on the front as if you have the window open because the air con doesnt work it is very noisy as the main road is right outside I would recommend this place and I would stay here again. Breakfast boxes given if you leave before 7 when breakfast starts. Excellent wifi connection
We stayed at the hotel in November previous to its recent refurbishment, which was much needed because it was really dated. The hotel is ammaculate and in the perfect location for anyone wanting to visit Krakow. Its about a 5-10minute walk to the main square, but it also right next to a HUGE shopping centre. There is a supermarket a few doors up which is handy. The breakfast was lovely. Would 100% reccomend, we are looking at booking up again.
The hotel has been completely refurbished to a good standard, the staff and efficient and friendly, great breakfast with a wide choice of food. The bar was small bet still a good place to get drink, also as far as hotels go it is not expensive Rooms at a little on the small side, but all the showers and plumbing are new
We stayed at the hotel for 7 nights 28/4 - 5/5. The hotel opened after renovation and we got a whole new but small room with a fresh smell of color. Since the hotel was fully booked we stayed in a 2-night room. The hotel staff made great efforts to satisfy us. And took us to a large and very luxurious room. The hotel is central and comfortable, a good breakfast and as I mentioned the hotel staff are very charming and friendly. I'm sure I'll return to this hotel again.
Krakow is known to be the most sophisticated and cultural of all the Polish cities and it did not disappoint. The hotel was the best one we stayed while in Poland and it met all of our needs. The service was very good and the staff very friendly and amenable.
Our second visit ti this hotel. You cannot improve on the location so close to the Old Town Square. Since our last visit rooms have been upgraded and ours (105) was in strong black and white colours. The room had free fridge, safe and coffee making facilities. If you like tea in the morning take your own tea bags and buy milk in the supermarket next door. The staff and welcome were friendly and the room and the hotel were modern and clean. Breakfast was plentiful, continental + eggs, beans and sausages etc. My only criticism was that the shower cubical was small with not too much room to move.
Good hotel in a central location in the old town. Friendly staff, clean modern rooms and funky jazz based decor. The hotel was in the final stages of a modernisation when we were there. It's located in the old town with a tram line at the door. We would use this hotel again.
It's a year since I was last here and the main changes are that it's undergone a wholesale refurbishment (everything is now black & white and smells of paint) and the staff are good bit friendlier than they used to be. My main grumble persists - the corner shower unit that has no room to turn around in it - but everything else is acceptable. Location is still very good, right on the edge of the old town, breakfast alone is worth the trip and, all in all, BWKOT is my first choice for the next time I find myself on my way to Krakow.
The hotel was new renovated and smelled fairly new. Good location with easy access to the old town Krakow is a charming city and the Jewish part was really amazing. A tour to Auschwitz-Birkenau and to experience the horror to see It by your own eyes was an important touching experience
This hotel is well located but that's all the good points done. Staff are sour faced no smiles no good mornings the breakfast staff never spoke even when you said good morning to them a couple of reception staff were pleasant and helpful. The hotel is being refurbished the decor was ok but the bedroom was shoe box size not big enough to put chairs in so you had to sit on the beds the bathroom was tiny. The furniture was cheap flat pack that shook and wobbled when you opened a door or drawer. The breakfast certainly catered for the Polish guests never had pickled gherkins cucumber rolled mop herrings for any meal let alone at breakfast the fried eggs were reasonable the scrambled watery and runny. I asked one of the reception staff if our room was a converted store cupboard she looked embarrassed and laughed so may be we hit the nail on the head I have never stayed in such a small room you could not pass each other one would have to stand aside if this is what they call a supreme room which is what I booked and was told it was a supreme room by reception I dred to think what a standard room was like. I have stayed in other Best Western hotels but is the worst run one I have stayed in if this is going to be the the standard I will be giving them a wide berth. It would have been better using the refurbishment money on customer service. Then we would not have been woken two morning running with housekeeping staff shouting and banging doors.
Ok so we booked here for our 20year anniversary. Having searched this came up as one of only a few who offered double rooms... we booked and paid for superior double/ twin room. I then emailed hotel to ask if it was possible to request a double room and not twin as I didn't really want to be sleeping separately. The response was very and i was told they would of course accommodate our request.. perfect I thought.... Not so on arrival you guessed it twin room... I should've mentioned it then but having been awake for over 36 hrs we were too tired... I mentioned it on departure to be told double was not an option for superior so why was I told it was and also why have pictures of such rooms on your website.. . It may sound like nothing but I would rather be told the truth or for people to do as they say they will.
Lovely clean hotel. Location was perfect only 5 min walk to the market square/castle. Décor not to everyones taste maybe - very monochrome - but I would not hesitate at stopping here again. Our room was very clean (think they have just been refurbished), it was small, but after being out all day all you needed was a bed so wasn't a problem, bathroom was spotless. Breakfast was good, with a decent choice. The only downfall for us was the bar was still being refurbished so there was nowhere to sit and have a relaxing drink at the hotel itself. The staff were very friendly and I would recommend this hotel no problem
I booked this hotel and location is excellent . Our room was newly decorated . I understood at time of booking there would be some renovation but I didn't realise just hiw much . No real drama as we were up and out exploring most days I was disappointed with the lack of organisation. Although our room was new there was no phone and tv hadon't been plumbed in . Our friends room had a constantly running toilet for duration of stay which didn't get resolved . Staff didn't seem prepared for guests at same time as workmen . Breakfast was OK but there was a lack of juices and clean cutlery Hopefully these are teething issues due to refit as the location is great and staff are pleasant If I booked again I would probably ask for a rear room to avoid tram noise
Great hotel, fantastic venue. City has lots to offer people really friendly and food amazing. Will return. Lots of history much of which is very sad,it will make you think about how the war affected the people of Poland.
Prefect location to access a lot ... rooms lovely cleaned everyday, staff brilliant and very helpful .. can book trips via front desk they give you information on each trip .. restaurant very cleans food lovely
Stayed in an Executive twin room for 4 nights in December 2016. Purpose of the trip was to visit the Christmas market, and this hotel offers excellent value for money as it is very close to the main square. The room was clean and tidy with everything you would need for a comfortable stay. Breakfast was good, especially the cold buffet on offer. The hot buffet did suffer in variety, otherwise I would have marked it as "great". Staff were very friendly and helpful with advice as to where to go and what to see. Overall great value for what we paid, and I would certainly come to this hotel again in the future.
stayed here with another couple on a 'city break' for 4 days in late October 2016. Excellent location fro city centre. rooms small but well appointed and breakfast excellent for a 3 star hotel. cost of room excellent and good value for money. would stay again,
Excellent location within 400m of square. Good size rooms, comfortable, clean, continental breakfast very varied, bar area pleasant & decent price. Staff very nice & informative. Re; disabled guest facilities there are approx 6 steps at front of hotel BUT may be ramp from rear car park (check with hotel)
I stay here with my fiancée for 3 nights, its location is within a 5 min walk from all the sites & attractions in the centre of town. The street that it was on is a little noisy and busy but it was convenient. The room are small & compact but at least they are clean & modern. Breakfast is included and the choices are decent. Service is wonderful and staff is happy at all times. The elevators were a little bit funny as you will have to walk up or down to get to your room. Great value for the price we booked it for.
just returned from first trip to Krakow abs fab went sun to thurs what a lovely city to visit Travelled with easy jet and booked hotel with trivago excellent deal As others have said the hotel is only 3 mins walk into main square which is abs huge with plenty of eating and drinking places available YOU MUST GO to Auschwitz/Birkenau and please do book the trip with the hotel this is a guided tour and is excellent We also visited Schindlers factory again very in formative 30zloty by cab there We ate twice in the Grande Grill on the square and also Hard Rock both very good food and value For those who must have their shopping kick ask at the hotel and they will point you in the right direction of the huge 3 storey mall approx 20 min walk ,and remember its all on the flat Drink late at night in the square outside with blankets around you and patio heaters to keep you warm whilst watching the horsedrawn coaches in the square all in all excellent break and would definately recommend both Krakow and The Best Western Hotel Old Town
I stay here with a group of friends, its location is perfect as 5 mins from all the sites & attractions in the centre of town, although the rooms are small & compact they are clean & relaxing after a day out sightseeing. I would certainly recommend this hotel especially if your on a budget it gives 4 star service with 3 star pricing. My only slight negative is the bar is quite small & forms put of e Restaurant which restricts space & atmosphere. But all in all great value
My Wife and I stayed in Jazz room 321 from 20/11/16 - 23/11/16, it was a huge room with great decor including colour changing neon lights. I had originally requested a king size bed but got 2 singles pushed together however this wasn't really an issue so didn't complain. The radiator seemed to be permanently on and the air con wouldnt go lower than 10 degrees, but there were large windows which we left open to cool us down as it was surprisingly warm for this time of year. The bathroom was a good size. Overall the room was very good. The bar was a bit limited for drink selection but was ok for us (10 zloty for a 0.5l Tyskie draught lager), however they did run out on one of the evenings as the delivery hadn't come, so a bottle of Grolsch replaced it. The breakfast was limited for hot food, polish sausage, fried eggs and baked beans. There was more of a choice for continental style breakfast. Dinner was very limited with choice so ate out every evening. The staff were very polite and helpful. The hotel is located in a great place near the the old town main square and Wawel Castle, easy to walk to (5 mins) or get on the hundreds of trams that run outside the hotel all day, seemed to be a tram every 30 seconds but wasn't noisy. Smoking/seating area at the rear of the hotel. Overall I would definitely stay in this hotel again and would recommend it to everyone.
Stayed at this hotel for five nights in november 2016 very good room nice and warm with comfortable beds very quiet , plenty choice for breakfast and plesant staff , in a good place easy to walk to centre of krakow and what a lovely place nice square to sit and have a drink shops to look round and a museum in the square , we did a lot of walking round the cobbled streets and in the parks there is lots of places to eat and very reasonable .The tram service is great easy to get one if need one.We will definitely return to do more on next trip.
I stayed at this hotel with 3 friends from 18th- 21st November 2016. We were very happy with the hotel and it offered everything we were looking for. We had 2 rooms in the 'jazz' part of the hotel which were modern, roomy and clean. The beds were very comfortable and the mood lighting was a plus. We received maid service every day. The food at breakfast was nice and the coffee machine makes amazing lattes. The reception staff were very pleasant and happy to answer any questions. They gave us a map and circled all the places we wanted to go which made our trip easier and saved time for us trying to find everything ourselves. You can also book tours through the hotel at a reasonable price. We booked Auschwitz for 150 zloty and it was very easy to do so. The city itself has a lot to offer but this hotel was certainly a comfortable home away from home. The location was perfect; near main square, Jewish quarter, shopping centre and tour bus/tram stop everything was within walking distance we didn't really need to get a tram anywhere but hopped on anyway for the experience. Overall this hotel was very comfortable and truly made our holiday.
Krakow is a lovely, old and very pleasant city. The history could equal Rome or Athens in its intensity but the people are so very sad. It was hard to conduct a conversation with local people, not because of the language as they speak perfect English, but they seemed very guarded. The guides on the trips seemed to be reading from a script -- except Joanna in The Salt Mines, she was the exception and was happy in her work.
we flew from Edinburgh to Krakow for a city Break 4 nights and wanted to be near the Old Town Square. Having been to Prague, Budapest, Berlin, Tallin, we wanted to add Krakow to our list. We were not disappointed beautiful city excellent transport it is an easy city to get around. We quickly found our bearings (got a map from Tourist information) and walked around. We went by train to the Salt Mines about 20 minutes and about 80p . Once there we joined the queue for the 3 hour tour. What an amazing experience did not realise how intricate the carvings and displays would be. Well worth the time to visit. Next day Schindlers factory and a visit to Wawel Castle both worth it. We decided not to go to Auschwitz a decision I am happy with. The food in Krakow was interesting lots of restaurants to choose from and most importantly the autumn weather was shining for us. We will definitely go back it was an excellent choice for us.
Returned from here today having stayed here before back in February. Literally across the street from the Old Town so the location could not be better. A really pleasant stay in a very clean hotel. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room which is always a nice bonus. Rooms are cleaned daily and the staff are very friendly and helpful with taxis and tours. We very much enjoyed the breakfast and the on site bar is another bonus for drinks before you visit the lovely restaurants and bars of the Old Town. All in all we couldn't fault this place back in February and we were welcomed back by a very friendly and approachable team. Would certainly recommend and will likely return to a hotel where we've been very well looked after.
Best Western Kraków Old Town is located in the Old Town of Kraków and is a superb hotel that is housed in an elegant building and is the ideal hotel to stay when visiting Kraków.Very convenient for all the sights of Kraków and well managed by extremely good staff. The hotel is decorated to a very high standard with excellent rooms which are very clean and modern. The bathroom area is superb with fresh towels everyday plus assorted shower gels and soaps and shampoos supplied. The breakfast options are hot and cold dishes plus a great range of tea and coffee options plus Juices. This is a great hotel located in a great area and is well worth staying in when on holiday in Kraków.Located on Ul-?wi?tej Gertrudy.
Excellent location for the old town, main square etc. Not sure what the modern part of the hotel is like but we had a huge room in the old original building looking out over the front towards the park. Super breakfast with wide choice of hot a cold food - we would definiteley return to this hotel if we were to visit krakow again.
THE BEST WESTERN HOTEL is without a doubt the very best hotel that I have stayed in Krakow and over the 20 plus years I have been visiting this wonderful city is have stayed in many hotels. Greeted warmly and checked in immediately by the very pleasant desk staff we were gave room 314 on the 3rd floor. The twin room was superb with tea and coffee making facilities,2 bottles of sparkling water which were replenished daily,a flat screen TV,free quick Wi-Fi,spotlessly clean bathroom including hairdryer, great air conditioning and stunning views afforded from our window of Planty Park. The breakfast which was included in our stay was superb with a great choice of hot and cold dishes, coffee ,water and tea and plenty of seating options. The hotel lounge bar is fantastic and a good meeting point before starting your day or night out. The location could not be better being very close to the Kazimierz District ( Jewish Quarter ) and the amazing Old Town and only a 10 minute or so walk from the main train station. Transport here is fantastic also,we love using the public transport and trams 4.8.10.13.18 drop you off by the hotel. As good as this hotel is ,it's the staff that make a great hotel and the staff here are fantastic, friendly, attentive and helpful,in fact a credit to the Best Western. We are back in Krakow next year and we are most certainly going to re book into this hotel. If your thinking about a holiday in Krakow I highly recommend you stay in this hotel. You will find this hotel on Ul.Sw.Gertrudy.
I stayed here with my friend 31st October to 4th November. This was my 2nd visit to the hotel. We were given the executive rooms. These were lovely but we did on extra for the luxury rooms which were not given to us. But however the room was lovely and quiet. Breakfast not replenished very quickly and not enough room for all that wanted to eat. I had to sit at the bar at one morning. Special mention to receptionist Bartek. He was very helpful when organising trips for us. A very pleasant young man
hotel very well located for the centre of Krakow. Excellent information given on local tours available. Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast has plenty of different choices cold and hot. good mini market close by
The hotel is ideally situated. Visiting Krakow old town, the galeria shopping mall and central transport stations are minutes away. The hotel itself is comfortable and has all the necessaries to make the stay a pleasant one. Breakfasts are good East European fare. Plentiful and tasty. The hotel staff are very pleasant and helpful. The room maids are very good and will supply the rooms with extra tea or bottled water if needed. They advise guests to boil the tap water before drinking it. No bar fridge but the window ledge is deep so if you have cartoned milk it will remain cold but only in winter. There is good heating and air con for summer. A rear room is quiet. There is a super market next door. A very good hotel. Will stay there again.
We visited Krakow best western for 3 nights Oct 28-31, 2016. We took airport train to Krakow Glowny station (about 5 stops) at a cost 8 pl each. The hotel is about a 1/2 mile walk from train station. The hotel is walking distance to the old town, wawel castle and Jewish Quarter. The hotel itself, was a good value. Comfortable beds, clean and a free diversified breakfast included with price. The hotel staff spoke English and answered all our questions. Being close to main train and bus station was very convenient. We booked Auchwitz and Birkenbau on our own. Just go to bus station and book a bus to Oswiecis .Just a note, book your tickets to actual museum online before you go, Schindler's factory was about a $3 uber ride from hotel. Uber is very convenient in Krakow. Would definitely stay at this hotel in the future.
Loved Krakow!!! lots to see and do 3 days were not enough would certainly return. The Square in the evening looked magical and the horse and carriage ride is a must do. The underground village that was unearthed in 2005 is well worth visiting. Lots of bars and restaruants all within walking distance from the hotel.
We were delighted with this hotel. It is very central, great for visiting the Castle., Market Square and the Jewish Quarter. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the room, though a bit small, was absolutely fine. We were lucky to have a room at the back of the hotel and had very peaceful nights sleep. The buffet breakfasts had everything you could wish for and set us up for the day. If we went back to Krakow we would definitely go back the this hotel and have already recommended it to friends.
Stayed here for 4 nights (16-20th Oct 2016) part of a party of 8 ... Staff on Reception were friendly and very helpful. Also helped me to arrange surprising my brother and his wife (secretly) on the day of their 30th Wedding Anniversary, during our stay. 10 minutes walk to the square, clean, warm room, excellent breakfast, wifi very good. Will definitely be recommending.
Arrived Midday Sunday, check-in took less than a minute. The hotel is absolutely spotless and warm. The staff could not have been anymore helpful to us especially the chap who sorted our tour out for us at 7.25 on a sunday evening. A big thank you to him. Our room was exactly what we expected and even though we were at the front of the hotel, the minor noise from the trams below was no inconvenience. Breakfast was fine even though some of the chairs could do with new springs. The hotel is about a four or five minute stroll to the main square, equally to the Castle and Cathedral. We walked from Glowny Station to the hotel in less than 15 minutes. Overall I would thoroughly recommend the Best Western (Old Town) as your hotel for your stay in Krakow. We hope to go back there soon.
Rooms large, clean and quite. We were allow to get breakfast earlier than the 0700 start time due to an early start to our tour pickup. Additionally a front staff member called Eurowings for me to get detailed info on how I could print our boarding passes
Ideal location as just a short walk to the main square, Wawel Hill, Castle and Cathedral. Clean, warm twin room more than adequate for a short stay with plenty of clothes storage. Comfortable bed, decent linen and, after two requests, managed to get extra pillows after a couple of nights. Appreciated kettle, tea bags, bottled water etc which was replenished daily. Nice shower room with complimentary toiletries, tissues, plenty of towels and hot water. Excellent buffet breakfast, extensive choice. Good free WIFI, didn't bother with the television. Only slight negative was that at busy times there appeared to be a shortage of crockery and that the dining chairs need replacing as they all sag.
Loved this hotel, the room was a little small but we managed. I wouldn't recommend bringing everything but the kitchen sink like I did. The staff were friendly and helpful and the included breakfast was nice. We also ate in the restaurant on two of the evenings and the meal was very nice and fairly priced. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
Had booked room at Best Western Krakow old town months ago. When we arrived we were informe that the hotel had had problems with their booking system so they had trfd our booking to another hotel This without any pre information to us. I insisted that they could hve mailed us and asked if OK. Not what we think is good service level..
We were transferred to this hotel for 1 night only due to the fact our hotel was overbooked. The hotel is clean and staff are very helpful. My only problem with this hotel would be the size of the rooms. They are very very small we just about had room for our 1 suitcase if we had 2 we would of been in trouble. The bed was comfortable but the quilt was very small
This was a very welcoming hotel, the staff were friendly and helpful. It is just a short walk into the main square and the rooms were clean and comfortable. We were in the new area on the 1st floor but to get there we had to go up the lift then down stairs to get to our room in the Jazz wing. Breakfast was good and there was a reasonable menu for dinner where we were well looked after by Maciek
Firstly, the positives: the hotel is in a fantastic location and is extremely clean and tidy. The room I stayed in was one of the Jazz rooms and even though it was nice and decorated to a high standard, it was small & very dark. The breakfast was average - certainly no worse than I've had at many other hotels, but I've also had much better at other hotels in a similar price bracket. As for the downsides, the restaurant needs a good overhall - it looks and feels very dated - every chair I sat on, I sunk straight into, and the dinner menu didn't have a single thing on it that was even vaguely appealing. I took one look at the menu and immediately decided to go elsewhere. Just down the road is a place called Restauracja Horoscope which is amazing. When we arrived, we walked up to the reception desk only to find the sole member of staff was on the phone. Obviously, this can happen, but she didn't even acknowledge our presence - she just kept talking. When off the phone, she was not exactly friendly. The hotel porter was actually much more pleasant (as were the restaurant staff at breakfast) but he didn't speak great English. When I got to the room. the WiFi would not work despite being given the password - my phone connected and I signed in, but nothing would work. Also, the TV didn't have all the channels listed on the informational sheet. Given the attitude of the girl on the front desk, I didn't feel particularly compelled to go speak to her about these issues. Overall, the hotel has a lot of potential, and with a bit of work could be excellent, but I was left feeling slightly disappointed on this occasion.
Quality Hotel and very cute. I had a nice room on the 3rd floor - not very big but has everything you need, clean, tidy with a fully equipped bathroom and high-level. Good breakfast with a variety of options for every taste.
Hotel very nice, but the room we were given was a Single room with a double bed squeezed in, as we are both in late 60's not practicle, fortunately we are both fit but if not could make for awkward visit. Buffet breakfast was very good and set us up for the day.
This is a great hotel right off main square about 5 mins walk at most.Very clean and comfortable great for the price and would definitely use again if in krakow. Only 1 small issue was we were 4 flights up and windows opened all the way not a great thing for kids or stag and hen parties who will be drunk. Not the hotels fault if people are in a mess but just a little point. All in all a great place to go though.
We booked this hotel mainly due to it's close proximity to the Train Station and the city centre. It was only 15 minutes walk from the train from the airport, and very easy to find. The receptionist was very welcoming and made the process of checking-in very easy and comfortable. The location turned out to be perfect, with easy access to all parts of the city - and a tram stop at the front door. There is a well socked supermarket next door, which was handy for all those last-minute things you forgot to pack! The breakfast was very acceptable, with a good selection of cold meat and cheeses, as well as a hot buffet. The coffee was excellent, which surprised us as it came from a machine! The room that we were given was at the front of the hotel and was comfortable, with good facilities, The tram noise at the front of the hotel might cause concern for some people but it wasn't too intrusive. Our break in this lovely city was definitely enhanced by our stay at the Best Western and I would certainly stay there on our next trip.
This hotel is well located within a short walking distance to everything in the old town and is opposite the Planty, near a supermarket and some restaurants. The buffer breakfasts are extensive and plentiful. The rooms are mixed in size with many being very small. The beds and furnishings are basic. Staff are helpful and friendly.
I had a difficult flight to Krakow with missing luggage etc which could easily tainted my view of this hotel however this did not happen. I arrived well after 11pm at the hotel from the airport to discover that my room was double booked. Now this may have been a problem to others but the hotel has booked me into a another hotel for the night just a few doors down already and actually escorted me there and waited while I was checked in. I returned the following day to complete my stay with my original hotel. Now I worked for years in the hotel industry and I know that double bookings can occur, especially when using some third party online booking sites who's software does not pick up that the rooms have been all sold. Things do go wrong but I believe that how things are "put right" can turn a bad situation into a positive experience and this was what happened for me. I was accommodated into one of the premier rooms in the Jazz wing and this room was pleasant and spotlessly clean, with air-conditioning. The décor was interesting with a musical theme, a giant mural of a saxophone on one wall in my case, with an eclectic and colourful lighting system that I triggered by accident, had my own little disco going for a while. :-) It was a twin room with two single beds which although quite small was very comfortable. There were tea and coffee facilities in the room which I did not use nor the LCD TV down to my lack of being able to speak Polish, too much to see and do anyway. I believe that there are also standard rooms that do not have air-conditioning but I have no experience of them. Breakfast was served in the downstairs restaurant and mainly is continental style although there were scrambled eggs and various types of hot sausage available. If you cannot find something in the buffet to satisfy you I would be most surprised as there was a large selection with plenty of volume. You will not go hungry. Beware of peak times as no hotel have a seat available for every guest to arrive at the same time. Krakow has a huge amount of bars and restaurants serving food so I took advantage of these and only ate in the restaurant one evening, however what I had was of an excellent quality, looked and tasted appetising and it was even evident looking at the side salad that a little care had been spent on that too. I was there for a week and only of course met a few of the staff but the ones that I did were very friendly and spoke much better English than I spoke Polish. The staff on reception were very helpful to me and even offered to ring on my behalf to attempt to track my missing luggage, which did turn up on day three.... The location of the hotel is very handy to the castle and the main square only a few hundred metres, if that, from the main square. It is a short walk to the Galeria shopping centre which is very handy if your luggage goes on a holiday without you like mine did. You can probably tell that I enjoyed my stay in this hotel, which I did, but Krakow itself was amazing so much so that although I only stayed there mid August 2016 I have booked again to return to Krakow in December 2016 and again have booked at the same hotel.
Location of this hotel made it easy to walk to main square, castle and shopping center. There is a tram at the front of the hotel. The room was spacious and clean. We stayed in the Jazz section of the hotel and there are a few stairs to go up and down with luggage but not too bad. The breakfast was ok. The staff were very helpful and friendly and on our last morning we had to leave very early they had prepared a packed breakfast for us which we really appreciated. I would stay here again most definitely.
Rooms are spacious, could do with a fridge in the room, other than that air con, hairdryer, TV (but we haven't had it on), close to the Square and some excellent restaurants. Clean and maid service every day, 4 floors but lift split between floors and doesn't stop at the 2nd so be prepared to have to go up or down a flight to get to the floor you want.
LOCATION: This hotel is in a great location. You can easily walk to Wawel Castle, Old Town, the Main Square, and the Jewish Quarter. The hotel staff is helpful in giving you directions- they have more maps and tour info than they know what to do with! There's a tram stop right outside. The park across the street is great for working out. ROOM: Our room was in the Jazz section of the hotel. There were two twin beds in there, and they were perfectly adequate. Our pillows were a little flat, and had an odd odor to them, but that's really the only complaint that we had. We didn't notice air conditioning in the room, so we slept with the window open. It was a little loud at times, but it didn't keep us up or wake us up. There was also no safe in the room, which made for some creative safeguarding techniques. Decor is very fun and modern- they have fun colorful lighting that you can turn on if you wish BATHROOM: The bathroom was nice, I liked the shower and the towel warmer. The hotel provides soap and shampoo for you. ACCESSIBILITY: Stairs everywhere, including to get to the reception desk and the Jazz section of the hotel. I can't comment on breakfast because we didnt have it. Overall, we recommend this hotel.
Hotel is situated just 5 mins from main square and to the castle by the river. Location is excellent. Staff are extremely helpful. Room is good sized however the twin room funnily enough was bigger than the double room. Breakfast us good and hotel is clean. I highly recommend it.
We stopped here for 3 nights in hotel. The first night we were upgraded to the new area of the hotel. It was very modern and the air con was a dream with the hot weather. We returned to the hotel later in our trip and were not upgraded, however the room was so much better! It was spacious, again the air con was a pure joy! The breakfast was great, had a wide selection and all the food was fresh and well cooked. We were opposite the park leading to the main square. I really recommend this hotel!
Very nice hotel, good location. Hotel looks a little dated but perfectly fine. Breakfast was fine, wifi worked well. The bar/restaurant was a little small and closes quite early - 11.00pm. Staff at reception were friendly and helpful.
Stayed 4 nights during a stay in wonderful Kraków. When we entered our room we were disappointed how small it was; bed up against a wall, only room for case on its end between end of bed and window. Should have said it was unacceptable, but not wanting to make a fuss we did accept it. What has made it even worse is on browsing the hotel on the Internet since I came home our room, or an identical one with same picture on the wall popped up as "FOR SOLE USE" !!!
We were a group of 4 that stayed at the hotel for 3 nights during July. Our experience is summarized below: Pros: 1.) Great location - walking distance to main square and all relevant sights. There is a tram stop a few meters from the hotel 2.) Hotel and bedrooms were clean. 3.) Breakfast - wasn't great but decent Cons: 1.) Beds were awful. The mattress was so sunk in that we woke up with back aches every morning. We booked 2 rooms and this was the case with both rooms. 2.) Curtains too small for windows - this resulted in us waking up at the crack of dawn with the sunlight in our faces. 3.) Noisy - rooms that face the main road pick up the noise from the trams. Upon reading previous mixed reviews, we lowered our expectations of the hotel. However given that it's a 3 star hotel, we atleast expected more comfortable beds. If you looking for location it's perfect, but if you looking for comfort then you will be disappointed.
We visited the city in early July, and it is in a great location for the old town and tram links. The hotel its self is very good , I could not fault it in any way, would stay there again. The breakfasts were great with a wonderful choice and staff were friendly.
Stayed here for 3 nights. Arrived before check-in time. The staff stored our bags, whilst we went for a wander. The hotel is clean and well maintained. We were given a room in the 'Jazz' Section. The room was very nice with a good sized bathroom. The room was clean as was the bathroom. The only issue was the closeness of the beds. They were very close together + getting out was not easy at night. The breakfast room was very busy when we visited. The staff were slow at clean up, but when they arrived, cleaned up everything. We saw an older couples table swept clean whilst they were getting food. The Hotel is 5 minutes walk from the old town square and all its attractions. The old Jewish quarter is 10 minutes walk in the opposite direction. Our only real problem we had was the wifi seemed to finish when we checked out of our room. We still had eight hours until our taxi to the airport + had no easy way of checking for information.
Good price and very good rooms. It has a great location near the market square. The rooms are comfortable and have enough space. The bathroom is small, but comfortable. Complete and delicious breakfast, and very polite and helpful workers through the hotel. Also, installations are in good conditions and the hotel as whole demonstrates the cultural buildings of the city.
I stayed here for five nights in July of 2016 and was blown away by the service! The hotel is clean, well kept, and staffed by knowledgeable and helpful staff! Check-in was quick and easy, and I was able to arrange a tour that was one of the highlights of my week! They do offer transfers to and from the airport, (about a half hour away), but I had already made separate arrangements. The restaurant had delicious food and very convenient hours! Breakfast was plentiful and good, (but beware of competing with bus tour-groups)!! The location was excellent, (across the street from the Old Town, and minutes away from the Wawel! I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel and would certainly stay again!
Great location, easy to get around Krakow, the staff are very friendly and helpful and the food in the restaurant is brilliant. I've stayed here twice, once in the Jazz suite and once in a room on the 4th floor, the Wifi works better in non-jazz room but both were very nice and quiet.
The hotel was well located, it was in a great position for shops transport and easy to reach airport. it was clean and everyone was very friendly and helpful. Staff responded to all our needs. Rooms were well equipped .
This hotel could not be better situated for getting around Kraków, the Hop on Hop off bus starts just along the road, the Square is a five minute walk away, yet the hotel is away from the hustle and bustle. If you are looking for somewhere clean, comfortable and convenient this is for you. The only downside is breakfast can be a bit chaotic, the breakfast room does not seem large enough for the size of the hotel, it can be difficult to get a table at peak times. the breakfast itself was adequate with a wide range of fruit, yogurt, cold meat, cheese and cooked items
The hotel has a very good location. The room that I had was with jazz theme. Not a big room, but all the necessary things were there and the air-con was very good. Cleanliness and service was good, but the Internet is very bad.
We just had 3 nights in this Hotel and City, but I could have stayed longer, What a lovely Hotel in the old part of Characteristic Krakow, which is one of the best places to stay. Clean comfortable with buffet Breakfast, good selection of breakfast, would recommend. Krakow is clean, with plenty of parks all around, to sit and enjoy the views. Plenty to see, to get around, with tours to the Salt mines, ,Auschwitz Birkenau museum, Or just sit on an open top bus, and explore yourself, with a 24 hour ticket to ride and get off and on Good places to eat very plentiful, and well worth the price, as we found out, a lot cheaper than other cities we've been to. . I would definitely be looking to return to this beautiful City, it is well worth the visit.
We spent 4 nights at the hotel. As other reviewers have noted, the room was on the small side but definitely manageable. Th e bed was comfortable, the closet ample for 2 people with about 9 hangers, small bedside tables with a drawer and a shelf and lights, a tea kettle with coffee cups and glasses. Everything was clean and looked fairly new. The bathroom was also small but again- large enough. The reception staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast room was nicely decorated with a large selection of items to choose from: pastries, breads, cold cereals, oatmeal, 3 types of eggs, many cheeses, coffee , fresh vegetables, salads, fresh fruit, meats.
We were greeted by a very friendly receptionist and our booking was confirmed in seconds and we were in our room within 5 mins. THE hotel offers tours which we used and we're all excellent (picked up from hotel and dropped off at hotel) all with guides. The rooms were very nice considering this is only rated at 3 star (I would give it more). Ideally located for getting to square and castle etc. The breakfast (included) was great and was self service so u could eat as much as u liked. Recommend this hotel. Will be going back
My son and I stayed four nights at this hotel. We were very pleased with everything there. The reception staff were friendly and very helpful. The room was very clean and had a lovely view over the park. There was a lovely shower room as well. The breakfast was more than adequate to prepare for a days sightseeing. The hotel is in an excellent location near the old town. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a city break. I walk with difficulty and could manage to get around the town.
found the hotel ok and its right on the edge off where you need to be for the sights, the castle and square literally mins away.check in was a breeze and the rooms where great. Be careful of the approach to the hotel if you've booked parking as its a really narrow entrance easily missed an yer off round a one way circuit.we didnt have polish currency when we first arrived and a visit to the bar was an eye opener.my father in law ordered a cappuccino and two beers and paid in euros, barmans quick calculation was 8 euros ,20 mins later i go to the bar and the same barman for the same round quoted 10 euros,so beware of that. if any criticism they have a small area to the rear with tables and chairs for a drink outside and smoking, betterb than nothing
The hotel is worthy of its 3stars. Literally a three minute stroll into the centre. The tram stops just outside and may perhaps be noisy if you have a room at the front but as our room was at the back it wasn't a problem. Staff were very friendly and thankfully spoke very good English. Staff in the dining room were not very good at replacing food that was running out at breakfast which meant a 15/20 minute wait for fried eggs on a couple of occasions but overall the food was okay. There was a problem one evening with noisy neighbours which went on until I rang reception at 1.20am and was told they would deal with it. They clearly did as the noise stopped shortly after. There is a small bar inside and also an area for sitting outside at the rear of the hotel but unfortunately the view is not worthy of note. I felt the hotel was good value for money and would certainly stay there again.
The Best Western was very nice. Pleasant Staff, Good Facilities for couples and/or business. Clean, Tidy, Quiet rooms, with excellent internet access (free), and tea/coffee facilities in the room. The place offers a lot of services if you just ask the helpful reception desk. The hotel is not far from the main train station and taxi's are cheap, and a very short walk from the historical and very pretty old town. There are a plethora of bars/restaurants to visit (just avoid the ones with English idiots in) and plenty of history and culture to soak up. I went with male friends as a group, but will definitely be taking my wife back as it has lots to offer.
quite good hotel. very close to historical centre. thats very positive. i was here on bussines trip in Jazz rooms. very small room, but it was ok. clean and tidy. probably the furtherst room from wifi router...i almost havent connectivity for work. very bad from my side. breakfast was good with normal offer. no fridge on the room It wasnt so necessary :)
First impression was good but the room was disappointing we were at the end of the corridor on the first floor and the room was small as a previous review said one side of the bed was against the wall we felt cramped in. However i think we were unlucky as looking into other rooms as they were cleaned they looked bigger. Also we were woken early morning from pepole talking so sound proofing not good. The breakfast choice was varied but no backon you could not call it an English breakfast. A final negative was the coffee in the room it was by far the worst I have had. On the plus side the room and hotel was kept very clean the staff were generally good and helpful, and the location was excellent. Good but could be better change your coffee provider and powdered milk to cartons little things make a difference.
excellent hotel 5 min walk to old town , lots of lovely restaurants in the main square lots of exciting things to do short walk up to the castle . Jewish quarter is lovely lots of nice old buildings . Beautiful amber jewellery that is very reasonable .
Near the old town. Within 10 minutes you arrive at the main square in the center of the old town. The old town is complete surrounded by a nice park, just cross the small street and you are there. Very safe area. There is a parking place behind the hotel. Ask for the "Jazz" part of the hotel as these are the newer rooms. Breakfast is not exceptional but good and with enough variety. The menu of the restaurant is rather limited but the quality is good and rated in the Krakow top ten.
Location fantastic 5 min from all old town attractions, easy walk to Jewish quarter etc. Very clean hotel, good staff. Problems with hot water, no fridge and it was 27 degrees so any liquids quickly got warm. Tight shower and very small rooms with the bed against the wall so one of you will struggle with night time bathroom visits. Breakfast very poor , toaster not working all 4 days, food lukewarm, ran out of most thins within a short time. The plates were so small you could only fit 2 slices of bread on them. Usual selection of cold meats etc. I don't want a full cooked English breakfast but if you are putting a sign up saying fried eggs or bacon then make sure it's available. Wasn't an unpleasant stay but with a few little tweaks could climb the ratings. The rest of my visit to Krakow was excellent, great people great food, great location and was totally impressed by the square and surrounding streets. Auschwitz trip a must although with sadness, will return to Krakow. Tip aperitif bar in corner near bier hale very good food , we paid 110 zloty each for 5 courses, with beer and vodka tasting. About £22.
This is a great location in krakow, walk distance to all major attractions. Staff at this hotel kindly arranged tours at our request and we were picked up outside. Buffet style breakfast, great staff and very comfortable rooms. Would highly recommend this hotel.
Convieniently situated, easy walk into old town. Good breakfast, probably some rooms need updating but on the whole very good for short stay. Staff very helpful and pleasant. Staff did mention they were due for a refurb.
Very nice hotel within walking distance of the main square. The hotel arranged all my trips which were really good on time with a English speaking guide.Hotel very clean room large and staff pleasant.Breakfast lets it down but it does say continental.I would definitely stay again.
Big space, coffe and tea in the room. Very good breakfast and good location at 4 blocks from the market square. The hotel has parking space if needed. No expensive. The elevator not stop in the second floor (must go to the third and down by the stairs).
This hotel is excellent very clean breakfast excellent staff. very professional friendly and very helpful it was my birthday balloons bottle of wine and a happy birthday greeting for me in my room ideally located for Main square walking distance Would definitely recommend we had a lovely time Kraków is a beautiful city
The location of this hotel is pretty good, with walking distance to every sight, but the hotel itself is nothing special. They have a new renovated part (the jazz part) that we didn't get to see, so this review is written based on the rest of the hotel. We ordered a standard dobbel room with a dobbel bed, but our room was so tiny we couldn't pass each other inside the room without bumping into each other. The bed was very small, and we where given a tiny duvet to share. The only good thing is that we where given a room facing the back of the hotel, so it was pretty quiet, but that didn't help much when sounds from the hallway outside our room kept is awake. The breakfast is nothing much, even though the selection is ok, the food is not warm enough and the layout of the breakfast area is terrible so you have to bump into other guests eating to get to and from your table. All and all I wouldn't recommend staying at this hotel, event though the price is reasonable and the location good.
gave us wrong room. rooms so small and high you will get claustrophobic. oh and the trams pass your window every five minutes (no double glazing!) Breakfast is good though. Would you believe it the bar closes at 11 and serves beer with more head than birkenhead
Best Western Krakow Old Town was where we stayed on our recent visit and loved it. Staff was very friendly and helpful. facilities were very clean and comfortable. The location was right across from Krakow Old Town so could walk and see all the sights. The only down side was there were about 7 steps when you enter that you have to climb with your bags and even though there are elevators, when you get to your floor there are 1/2 a flight of stairs to still climb with your luggage.
A very disappointing start!! We were travelling with another couple and I had booked 2 luxury rooms, for 3 nights, with a request to be as high as possible. We were given 2 rooms on the first floor, and ours was a DISABLED room, with, for us , a totally unsatisfactory bathroom. UNACCEPTABLE!! We were told there was no possibility of changing rooms until the next day. Our friends graciously changed rooms with us, before moving to a room on the third floor the next day, but found the experience of the Disabled room unsatisfactory. We mentioned our dissatisfaction to the receptionist at check-in, and would have repeated it to a manager had there been any sign of one during our stay, or if they had enquired as to our level of satisfaction, but they did not. Housekeeping kept the room neat, tidy & clean, but stingy with supplies of coffee, sugar & tea, and no milk, only creamer, which isn't the best in tea!! Breakfasts were adequate with reasonable range of items. Sachets of jam were available on the first morning, but not thereafter. Can there be any reason / excuse for running out of such a staple item? The saving grace for the hotel from our point of view was its location, which was why we had chosen it. A short and pleasant walk into the centre of Krakow, and to other areas of the city interesting to tourists, and also to good shopping areas and restaurants. From that point of view it did not disapoint at all. So overall a really good location, but from our experience little better than satisfactory in othervaspects
My wife and I traveled to Krakow with her 85 year old parents. We found the Best Western Old Krakow as the perfect hotel for our 5 day visit to Krakow: great location, room, breakfast, staff and nightly rate. We booked 2 standard rooms rather than the superior rooms since we were watching our travel budget for the year. The rooms were newly renovated, clean, comfy, great shower, great bed, good wifi signal (free), quiet etc - needless to say we slept well. The rates also met our budget (about $86/night including full breakfast - lots of choices, eggs, rolls, fruits, yogurt, cake, ham, cheese, etc and excellent coffee). The hotel staff were very helpful and professional - they helped us booked taxi to the Salt Mine, tour to Auschwitz, gave helpful recommendations etc. The hotel location was also perfect since it was near to the key sights to visit in Krakow - less than 5 minutes walk to the Old Town Square, about 5 minutes walk to the Wawel Castle, 10 to 15 minute walk to the Jewish Quarter, and about half hour walk to Schindler's Factory (we walked one time and took a taxi with my wife's parents the second time around). There is a tram stop outside the hotel if you don't want to take a taxi. The taxi fares to and from the Best Western were reasonable - $5-6 to places that were too far to walk, $20 from the airport, etc. There were many restaurants nearby and a grocery store next door. So, if you are planning to visit Krakow, don't look any where else. Book your stay at the Best Western Old Krakow online and look for the AAA rate.
Ive just returned from here today after spending 5 nights, we stayed in one of the jazz rooms a double room, room no 223 and what can i say it was fab, i find it hard to settle in strange hotels/rooms but i slept like a baby in these rooms, bed comfy, and very very quiet!room wasnt enormous but big enough for two of us and all our stuff(as a typical woman i had everything but kitchen sink with me lol) bathroom was very modern with shower and hairdryer, we had tv on for background noise but no english channels but got music channel and it all british acts on it but again we were only in room wee while in morning and then maybe 5-10 mins for freshen up so didnt bother much with tv, wifi worked good in room but i only got facebook at all times, i got google/safari seach once or twice in morning and then nothing and couldnt get emails at all but wasnt bothered as am on holiday not there to sit on phone but if you really need internet loads of places do wifi just ask for code. The location of hotel is fantastic 2 mins from square 5 mins from castle and about 15 mins walk from jewish quarter, and about 30 mins to the ghetto/schlinders factory but again depends which way you go some roads will take you longer stick to main roads, breakfast in hotel suited us fine i love sunny side egss and got them every morning with my toast and coffee plenty to eat and choose from it inpossible to write about everything as theres so much to see and do but if you want more info just ask ??????
A very beautiful hotel Should be rated 4 star and not 3! We had one of the Jazz rooms which was very spacious. Staff was very helpful and courteous. On our departure since it was at 5 in the morning, we were offered a packed breakfast with 3 sandwiches, fruit juice, yoghurt and a banana. The breakfast consisted of a wide range of foods including cereals, fruits, sweets, english breakfast and ample coffee and tea. This hotel is one of the best of the Best Western Group. A pity our stay was only 3 days. We will surely come back!
don't book a double room if there are two of you ! the rooms are very small ,we should have realise when the door to the room opened into the corridor, the side of the bed is against the wall,so don't get up in the night . no drawer spaces for clothes a small wardrobe ,if you want to get changed make sure one of you is in the shower or you will have to stand in the corner ,then its all move round .if you want to move to another room in the hotel its is surprise, surprise, its full.
We flew from Leeds/Bradford airport on Saturday at 7.20am and arrived in Krakow at 9.35am our time. Transfer to Best Western hotel by private taxi which took about 20 minutes. Hotel situated about 5 minutes walking distance to the old town. We were lucky with the weather glorious sunshine, we did not need our warm clothing. We had a marvellous stay at Best Western, friendly staff, clean and comfortable room, continental breakfast. We organised a trip to Autschwitz, which was an eye opener to say the least. A must visit. Also a trip to the Salt mines, need to be fit steps all the way down. A small cage lift back to the top. Another must visit recommended. Our stay in Krakow was very enjoyable. Recommended any time.
Very conventionally situated with spotless rooms and friendly helpful staff. It's within easy walking distance of Wawel Castle, the Old Town, and the ' hop on hop off' bus. There is an on site restaurant and very close to many other fabulous eating opportunities. The rooms all have free, reasonably speedy WiFi. The staff were more than happy to book excursions which included a hotel pick-up. The stay included breakfast with hot and cold buffet, providing everything one could ask for. Highly recommended!
Stayed here for 3 nights in mid April in the Jazz type room. Large modern room that was clean & well kept but disappointed that there was no safe in the room although there is a communal safe in reception that you can use. Also no bath in bathroom but the shower was powerful and effective & the 2 single beds were small but comfortable. The breakfast offered a good variety including fresh fruit and the normal hotel range of cereals, toast and boiled/scrambled eggs. Bar of an evening was well stocked and reasonably priced but not much room to sit and enjoy the drinks. Staff were all very helpful & happy to answer all questions we had. Location is perfect being a 5 minute walk to the main square but quiet of a night. Would recommend as a good place to base yourself for a stay in Krakov at a reasonable price.
I visited the Best Western, Kraków with a friend for 4 nights. Upon arrival we were greeted by reception who cheerfully informed us that they had upgraded us to to the one the premium jazz rooms free of charge. The room was spacious, clean and acted as an excellent base for our stay. Breakfasts were as you would expect, with a good selection of cooked eggs and continental fare along with a coffee machine offering a good selection. The reception team spoke excellent English and were only too happy to help with any queries we had, such as making our way to the Wilieczka salt mines. The only minor negative was that the wifi was extremely slow and intermittent, however this only affected my phone as my friends connection improved after the first day or so. The hotel is a stones throw away from the old town and the Wisla river. Overall I couldn't recommend the hotel highly enough, with the location being superb and unbeatable in terms of value for money.
Good hotel at a realistic price. Clean and spacious rooms and friendly, helpful staff make your stay enjoyable. Try the all day restaurant which doubles as the breakfast room. The food drink and service is to be commended. Kraków itself is a slow moving city with as fabulous Jewish quarter and plenty of attractions. A good all round experience. I will go again and make use of the Best Western !
Stayed in this hotel for 3 night with our friends. We were in one of the Jazz rooms which was lovely however are friends decided not to upgrade to this type of room and their room was nice also. Very clean. Friendly staff. Breakfast was nice and it is in a fantastic location. Would definitely recommend this hotel and when we return to Kraków would definitely book it again!!
Enjoyable stay at this hotel. VERY central. Breakfast was good and kept us going for most of the day. Staff were friendly. Bar not brilliant but then you are so close to the main square so it doesn't really matter. Very comfortable room.
The only issue I had was the free water bottles contained tepid water. Close to the historic centre and the castle but miles from the Schindler factory. Best excursion was to the Gestapo Headquarters outside the old town in the North. Interesting to see the horror of WW2 only for the people to believe in an easier life only for Stalin to enter. The free walking tours were also fun, would have done more.
The 3 star is a little low for me. Especially if you book an upgraded jazz room. They are on the small side but very new and quirky. Hotel location is perfect for everywhere and the staff are excellent. Nothing is a problem and they are very helpful with any need. Breakfast is good and sets you up for the day. I have been to krakow many times and this is the first time I have stayed her but will stay again for sure.
Booked into this hotel last night for 4 nights. We were allocated a room in the Jazz area of hotel. We got what we paid for but nothing to write home about but good location for Market Square Had breakfast this morning which was adequate but basic. Been out all day visiting Auschwitz and arrived back at hotel feeling a bit drained and looking forward to a drink and snack in the bar. However was shocked to find that they had closed the bar and restaurant to accommodate a private function. Reception would not even allow us to buy a drink and sit in reception area. With all the choice in Kraków I think that the decision to close bar was a bad management decision We are here till Monday. I wish it was Monday George Thomson
The Best Western hotel is situated very close to Main Market square only about 5 mins walk. The room was very clean, thought slightly small but still very good for the two of us. Wifi is free and speed is Ok. Breakfast is very good although I missed the bacon. There is a food store a few steps away from the hotel and the tram station is right across the road. Staff is very good and helpful. We were given a packed breakfast at 3.00am before we left the hotel for the airport. I would definitly stay in this hotel if I ever visit Krakow again. Very good value for money.
I've just returned from this hotel, and found it to be a great place to get some shut eye, between going on trips, and socialising with friends . It is located near a tram line, and in easy walking distance of the old town square. I agree with others that the bathroom seem small and that the shower may be the downfall to larger guests. The beds and towels were changed often, and bottled water was supplied (2x500ml) daily. The breakfast food wasn't to my liking but the coffee and fruit juice was good. Well worth booking if all you want is a place to put your head at night.
For my second visit I had an room away from the Jazz Room and I found my room tired, dull and very hot as the air conditioning did not work. The bathroom was very small and larger people may find it too cramped. The breakfast is very limited and I found that the milk in my tea had curdled indicating that it was off. The carpets in my room needed cleaning. This is a budget hotel and for the price you may consider it good value. However, I shall not stay here again and will try the Andels which is nearby.
Hotel was lovely. However we stayed in the neway furnished Jazz rooms. Was lovely and clean both bedroom and bathroom. But the room itself was OK. However we were never in the hotel so was fine for what we wanted it for. Great location and the breakfast was good. Would stay again.
Stayed 5 nights nice hotel and staff rooms quite small , breakfast quite basic didn't have much on . Very close to centre not a lot to do unless you like to go visiting castles or salt mines etc . Didn't like the food or beer .
Enjoyed our stay! Perfect location; didn't need to use the public transportation to get around. The breakfast was plentiful and tasty. The superior room was good-sized and comfortable. Good value for money!
Really good location, 5 mins max from old town square, 15 mins from Old Jewish Quarter. Great rooms, warm, clean and quiet. Staff helpful, very good breakfast unless there is a school party in just before you eat, scorched earth policy! Wifi is ok in most of hotel. One minor issue is TV, lack of English speaking channel other than CNN ( call that TV) and France 24. After a long day sight seeing a bit of TV would be nice. Very happy to recomend
thought the hotel was in good location staff were fine the only strange thing was the lift situation we were placed on second floor and there was no lift to that floor only first third and fouth .the bar area was a bit basic and lacked any atmosphere the breakfast was the usual affair was ok but not outstanding .
Don't normally do these reviews but I felt in this case I must say something. Admittedly the décor was your standard European brown which tends to make places look a bit drab, but the hotel was well maintained, spotlessly clean and above all the staff were absolutely excellent I thought it was also ideally located and certainly value for money.
Booked this hotel for a ladies 40th birthday for 9 of us and I certainly won't be going back. Rooms were clean but basic. Radiator never worked and the tv had no English channels. Bar staff were far from welcoming so we had 1 drink and never returned there. Breakfast was a challenge in itself, constantly waiting for warm food- "eggs will take 5 mins" so once you get the eggs, the beans need refilling along with the sausages...etc etc...Very frustrating indeed waiting for a decent breakfast. Previously stayed in the Andels Hotel and I will be returning but to the Andels and not this one. Far From a welcoming place To stay in my opinion.
So, we stayed here for two nights, the room was very basic, all we heard all night was the lift rattling the ceiling, we had a double bed with two single covers. staff were polite and their English was good.
Where to start? Honestly, I would not ever stay here again. My issues were as follows; 1, The booking stated King room, we got a double bed with one pillow each and two single duvets. 2, The room was tiny, very little room to manoeuvre, everything seemed to be on top of something else. 3, Every time the lift was used, day or night, there was a horrendous rattling sound in our room,it woke me up several times each night we stayed. 4, The hotel markets itself as being for international tourists, yet the tv just had local channels. 5, As a whole, the hotel was very noisy, you can clearly hear other guests' in their rooms. If you do decide to stay here and are allocated room 201, ask to change, you will regret it if you don't!
Still at hotel and reported twice to reception that water scalding hot , I burnt my arm trying to move control in the shower . Been told sorry it's a problem with the boiler. No first aid offered? Nobody came to check the room. No more notification. The hotel is great location but disappointed with this issue
I stayed at this hotel many years ago when it was called the Monopol, I remember it being a classical central European hotel.....how disappointed I was on my return. We booked a "quiet" room.....only to be given a room on the first floor overlooking the main street (Ulica Gertudy). The windows did not even have curtains or blinds.....a street lamp directly outside!! We were moved, upon request, to the room next door......The traffic noise kept me awake for most of the night. Following day I asked to be moved and we were given a quieter room on floor 3. Breakfast was very poor, for 3 mornings out of the 5 that we stayed there was very little hot food and when I mentioned this to one of the staff she shrugged her shoulders and walked off!! Very little bread on occasions and what appeared to be tinned fruit cocktail with slices of melon. Very disappointing, not of the usual Best Western standard. On the morning of check out I asked if we could have the room until 2.30/3.00pm as our flight wasn't until 7.00pm....to be told " No, we don't allow".....sitting in reception at 3.00pm....we saw other guests checking out!!! If you wish to apply rules please be consistent and apply them to everyone. Sunday morning was dreadful with shouting and screaming on the landings at 2.30-3.00 am.... Not planning to stay again.
We stayed in the newer superior rooms to the rear of the hotel. The room was large and modern with 4 huge windows. The Air con worked well and the bathroom was spacious and modern. The whole experience was marred by Pawel the barman who had a face like thunder when we entered the small bar area at around 21:30. We believe he would have rather have been quiet, anyhow we got an Irish coffee and drank it and waited, and waited, and waited while he did everything from sorting room service orders out to removing the table cloths from the tables, anything to avoid serving us both another drink. We realised he was not going to serve another drink, so we tried to get his attention to pay and leave, but he kept avoiding us both, so we left without paying and low and behold he comes running to tell us that we had forgotten to pay! funny we now had his attention. The hotel is nice, but not for people who like a few drinks before and early night.
So I've just spent the weekend at this hotel and honestly, I wouldn't stay there again. The rooms are freezing, even with the radiator on full heat. In my opinion the heating was controlled centrally, probably to minimise cost. I had a double bed with a single quilt. The TV didn't work but as it happens they only cater for Polish viewers anyway. The complimentary tea and coffee was vile. Room service is a joke. I had to actually go down and order from reception, actually having to point to what I wanted. I know the staff are Polish but if you're catering for international guests the language barrier needs major improvements. Again with breakfast, there was only Polish food to choose from; don't expect a fry up or even croissants. The hotel was split into two; old and new. The old part seems to be where all the problems were. I had a friend on the trip who was put in the new part (Jazz Suite). These rooms seemed so much better. So if you decide to stay is see about staying in the new part.
Stayed here with friends for 3 nights, it is a very good city centre hotel only 5 minutes from Old Town and Square. We where upgraded to Jazz rooms which i would recommend very modern with changeable mood lighting as well. Staff where very friendly as most people are in Poland and Breakfast was very good plenty of choice.
My partner and I stayed here for one night, and even though the building is a little bit old school it was a very comfortable stay :-) The breakfast was amazing, and the receptionists were friendly, welcoming, and very keen on helping if we had any questions. However, when we asked about booking a tour to Auschwitz the following day they informed us that the tour was fully booked, but that they could arrange a taxi for us which would cost us 300 PLN (return) - and we had to pay our own tickets for the guided tour in Auschwitz of course (40 PLN per person). I thought the receptionist was trying a bit too hard to sell this deal without even informing us that there is actually a bus to Auschwitz that leaves every half an hour (or so) from the main train station, which costs 28 PLN one way for two people. Also, the flat screen TV in our room did not work. I could not even locate the cable that is supposed to connect the TV to the power outlet. This is the only reason I am giving this hotel 4 and not 5 stars. Otherwise, the location is very good as well - super close to the square and the Jewish quarter which is very handy as I believe these two places are the main tourist attractions in Krakow. If I come back to Krakow I will most likely book a room at this hotel again.
To be honest I can rate this hotel just as average. The rooms are small, the bathroom as well and our window wasn't fitting well when closed, so the cold air was getting inside. The hotel offers free wifi, but I had problems with connection and overall it wasn't working well. The breakfast was good with nice selection of food, so no objection here. When we arrived we had problem with parking (was told it's full despite having reservation) which is really small and were forced to park at public parking. After getting there they found the reservation and we could park, but it doesn't speak well for the reception staff. The only advantage of this hotel is its location close to city square and the rest of historical centre.
Perfect location near Krakow Old Town. Staff, facilities and breakfast all spot on. Room was quiet as requested and had tea making facilities. Book with confidence if you are looking for a place to stay centrally near Krakow Old Town
We decided to stay here for our recent visit to Kraków. It was terrific. The staff were really friendly and helpful with every aspect of our stay. The rooms are clean and the beds very comfortable. I would recommend this place for any traveller to Poland and terrific value
For something different we decided on poland. Such an interesting country. The polish were so friendly and helpful. Best western hotel was beautiful rooms so clean and the restaurant for meals was lovely breakfast also fab. The tram line is just outside the hotel. We used it a lot for the centre of town etc the main square is breath taking. Also at the train station is the biggest shopping mall i have been in and from there u can catch the train to aushwitz which everyone should see. We will definately be back.
Great hotel with friendly staff who speak English. Happy to offer suggestions on sites, directions and restaurants that are not just cash traps. The hotel is in a great location , close to everything you want to see in the Old Town. Less than 10 minute walk to Market Square.Transit at front door for trips further afield.
We stayed one night in one of the jazz style rooms. The room was very spacious, interestingly decorated with jazz posters etc, and comfortable. Limited parking in quite a small car park you pay for, but we found a space. Its in a good location for a short walk to the old town/main square and vicinity.
The hotel has a standard Best Western furnishing in the rooms and normal service at the reception. The breakfast was quite over the average, including the room and the service. The location is very good, 30 meters from the walls of the old city. But the room I had as business guest was incredibly small, I was not able to move inside it without kicking the furnitures around. Sorry, maybe I was unlucky.
We stayed here this weekend, we had a nice room although we had booked a large double bed and we had to sleep in two singles. We enjoyed our stay at BW, Nice central hotel, we were a bit disappointed with the breakfast really. Yesterday morning we went down just after 9 to find no yoghurts, no boiled or fried eggs, no ham. I asked for some ham and the waitress said to wait a moment. Well I never saw her again for a while and was still waiting for the ham. I eventually had a word with reception who said some was on the way from kitchen. I think I had to wait a full 15 minutes for the ham to arrive, no boiled eggs and my hubby gave up the idea of fried eggs. So some improvement is needed in the way the restaurant is run. People should be able to pop down at any time and find the majority of selection available at any time. I would however probably still return to this hotel because it is so central, reasonably priced and the rooms are nice.
Arrived early to the hotel at around 1145. Allowed us to check in early. Very helpful staff. Stayed in the Jazz suites, smaller but much nicer to the usual rooms would definitely recommend. Breakfast was ok, choice of both continental and cooked with cereal yoghurt and fruit. Location just off the square, and very accessible. About 25 mins from the airport. Paid 89 zlotys from airport to hotel, and then 80 zlotys back to airport as arranged by them. Booked to go to Auschwitz through hotel, 145 zlotys each leaving at 9am and returning by 4pm, with travel rime being around 70 mins each way. Was really good as had guided tour visiting both Auschwitz 1 and Auschwitz-Birkenau about a mile away, however, you can go in for free without the guide and pay less to get there if you wish. Note just to have some change to use the toilets and not many places to get food.
Excellent value for money with comfortable rooms, lovely breakfast, a cosy bar and to top it all off it is spotlessly clean. Reception staff are very helpful and the rooms in the newly refurbished 'Jazz' wing are very funky indeed. Will definitely return when visiting beautiful Kraków again. Would happily recommend.
Good hotel for business. It has great location near the main square. It offers very good breakfast. Rooms are quiet, clean and comfortable. Staff is helpful and friendly. Overall a very good option for business travels.
Visited Krakow for 4 nights and our stay could not have been better. Quiet room ( a little dated maybe) but very clean and you only sleep there. Breakfast plentiful and a great variety of both hot and cold food. Staff very helpful. would definitely stay there again as situated in a central position within walking distance of main square and value for money
I visited Kraków for my 40th birthday with 25 friends, it was our first visit to Kraków and we stayed in best western hotel, the hotel was in good location, very clean, the food was excellent and the staff were very helpful, the price of our 5 night stay was very good aswel. I would recommend this hotel to anybody visiting Kraków, I will definitely be going back and will stay at the best western.
Just spent my second weekend at the BW Krakow Old Town, between assignments in the UK and Mielec. The BW is a reasonably priced hotel in the center of so much of everything that makes Krakow one of my most favorite cities in Europe: You don't have to be Catholic to love Krakow, but it doesn't hurt! Walk out of the hotel onto Gertrudy Street and you are five minutes from the Dominican Church, within sight of the Franciscan Church, and ten minutes from St. Mary's Cathedral on Market Square - all dating from the 14th century. Also on the square is the diminutive Church of St. Wojciech, which predates the square at nearly 1000 years old. On the way you will pass the Archbishop's Palace where St. John Paul II lived as Archbishop with a fantastic diorama of his life displayed in the interior courtyard. Restaurants galore around the square and shops of locally made crafts in the market itself. The hotel is also just 10 minutes from Wawel Castle and Cathedral of Saints Stanislaus (he's buried under the altar) and Wenceslaus. You're also just a 30 minute walk ($5 cabfare) from Oskar Schindler's Factory: Restored for the movie, it holds a museum of the German and Russian occupations of Krakow. The hotel itself is in a grand historic building with a streetcar stop right outside the entrance (the new cars are much quieter than the heavy ones from five years ago), and has an additional wing on the rear called Jazz. Rooms are typically European in size but feature reliable highspeed internet (free), flatscreen TV, and coffee/tea service. Most importantly, it is quiet and comfortable for a good night's rest. The included breakfast caters to Asian as well as European and American tastes, and the restaurant is also open for dinner (or late lunch). Staff is warm and welcoming, knowledgeable and accommodating. I'm looking forward to returning next year with my wife for an extended holiday in Krakow and the rest of Poland.
Stayed at this hotel for three nights this past week while visiting Krakow on holiday. Hotel location is idea. It's just moments away from the Bus/Train Station (Krakow Glowny) and a 5 minute walk from the main square & area of town. We really enjoyed this as it allowed us to be able to walk everywhere yet also retreat and be a little out of the middle of things. Room was clean and exactly what was promised. Hotel was having a bit of issues with Wifi during our stay but only with wifi reaching all the rooms (it was always accessible in lobby, bar/restaurant area). Hotel personnel was great at recommending restaurants nearby. They even allowed us to store our luggage for nearly an extra day as we weren't leaving Krakow until 11 pm the night after we checked out of our room. Price of accommodation is great (especially with breakfast included...which has plenty of options). Would recommend to others and stay here again.
Our time in Krakow was very special and this hotel was the icing on the cake, Nice clean room, Helpful staff and brilliant situated literally a 5 minutes walk from the main centre of Krakow old town. Would highly recommend for a brilliant stay.
Stayed in this hotel in December on a three night city break. Such a great location. As we arrived late in the evening, it was great to have such a short trip from the central station to the hotel. If it had been in daylight you can walk to it in about 15 mims. I traveled with my husband and two teenage sons. Mine and my husband's room was in the main hotel building. The room was spacious, with an en-suite with a shower only. it was very clean but decor was dated. The boys were in the "Jazz" section of the hotel, the new annex. They loved it, it was all purple and white leather and strip lighting. The breakfast is very good with a good choice and a lot of healthy options and certain items change from day to day. The location is excellent, we could see the spires of the main square from our bedroom, so only a 5 min walk max. There is a tram stop right outside if you want to travel outside the old town. Staff in the hotel were friendly and will provide you with any information you need. There is a supermarket next door for your convenience, This hotel is in an ideal location for all your needs in Krakow
We stayed in this hotel last week during end of year celebrations. The best thing about the Best Western in Krakow Old Town is the location as it is only a few minutes walk from every important landmark in the city. The rooms although not large are adequate and very very clean. The front desk staff go out of their way to help you and they all speak good English. The breakfast choice is very vast however the only snag about this hotel is the arrogance of the breakfast staff. Most of the time either the cereal bowls or breakfast plates finish and no replacement is brought, the staff claiming that it is not their job to clean the dishes. Also breakfast is served between 07:00 and 10:00 but if you happen to wake up a little bit late and decide to go to breakfast after 09:30 you usually end up with a limited choice of food as the items that finish by 09:40 are not replaced. Last week I stayed in this hotel and I overheard a number of guests complaining with the staff about all this. i hope that management looks into this issue and teaches the breakfast staff that the customer is always right.
The hotel is very central, within easy walking of all the main sights. You can get a 292/208 bus from the airport to Krakow G?ówny train station, which is the last stop, for 4PLN but the ticket machines will only take up to 20PLN notes, no 50s or above. You can catch a number 3 tram from outside the mall (part of Glówny Station) and get off after 2 stops. The hotel is just around the corner. However, a taxi from Glówny station is only 20PLN to the hotel. The hotel has free tea, coffee and bottled water in the rooms. The Wi-Fi worked great on the 3rd floor but you have to sign in every 3 days. We had no complaints with the quantity or quality of the breakfast. After requesting an iron for our room, it arrived immediately. The rooms weren't really big but if you wish to pay more, there are bigger and better rooms.
stayed here on the 21st december for 2 nights as i was recommended for its location about 5 minutes walk to the square, 15 to the jewish quarter rooms were spacious and comfy and the staff were great however i judge a hotel on it's breakfast and the lack of choice let it down...what can i say but my belly rules my mind overall i would stay somewhere different next time, not because of the hotel, but as it was my first time in krakow i was getting my bearings and i now know where things are oh and it has free wifi which is always handy
Room a bit small this stay but clean and comfortable. Disappointed with breakfast first 2 mornings. We had to ask as did other customers for crockery, food to be topped up, tables not cleared. However when it was the weekend (Saturday and Sunday) plenty of food available as was crockery tables cleared efficiently. Usually would not fault but for the first two days dissatisfied with the service. Would still return as it is in a good central location
Second visit this year - as usual staff helpful and friendly. Room comfortable and breakfast good. Alas let down by being put in room 103 - nothing wrong with the room as such but above the kitchen and from 6am onwards noisy when the staff arrived! Still no safes in the room. If you're a light sleeper ask for something above floor one! Otherwise, recommended once again.
We booked a room through Booking.com, selecting, what I thought was a junior suite. On arrival, we were allocated one of the Jazz rooms. The guests (us) were a little confused as access is via the first floor, but the room numbers generally go by the floor. We were obviously spied travelling up and down in the lift and were intercepted, within moments, by the very courteous reception staff, who showed us to our room and refused to take a tip! The room was huge, with a striped decor running throughout the hallways and rooms. The LED lighting also added another dimension to the ambience. The bathrrom was more than adequate and, as usual, the room was stifling hot, but, thankfully, the four large windows open fully, or have a turn and tilt feature which allowed plenty of cool air into the room. Breakfast was the usual eastern european fayre, but, there were always fried, scrambled and boiled eggs. Creamy porridge was in plentiful supply along with a huge range of cereals, yoghurts, local dishes, cheeses, cooked meats, vegetables, fruit juices, breads, tea, coffee, etc, etc. Be warned - this hotel is in an ideal spot to get into the city centre, quite literally in a couple of minutes, so it is very busy and the staff do seem to struggle a little, when the hordes descend to be fed. That said, we had no problem finding a table, but did, occasionally, have to wait for plates. The Polish appear to be quite stern, but we found that anyone we spoke to was, firstly, fluent in English and genuinely friendly, courteous and helpful.
This is a lovely hotel. We found the staff very friendly, the hotel was very clean and the breakfasts were good. This hotel is close to the main square and all amenities. It is on the main road but we did not find it was noisy. Would definitely recommend. We are actually staying here again on the 30 December 2015.
My husband and I traveled to Kraków on the 26 to 29th November 2015, we stayed at the best western Kraków old town, it was quite a good hotel, not modern but clean, the room had twin beds and we had asked for double, they were up in a flash to push them together and make up as a double, the on suite was clean and nice shower, no complaints. The hotel is near to the main square which was preparing for the Christmas market, which was on from the Saturday (it was Thursday when we got there), lots of wooden huts and stalls selling a whole range of things, food, ornaments, slippers, wonderful...., around the square was a huge range of bars and restaurants, the food was fabulous we had polish, American and Italian, and really good value, wine was the dearest, but beer and vodka as well as mulled wine very cheep, going again next year all being well!
We stayed here for four nights at the end of November and it was perfect for what we needed. Rooms were small but clean and tidy. Good shower and beds were comfortable. It's a 5 minute walk to lovely bars and restaurants and 10 minutes to the castle. We would stay again for a similar visit.
hotel only 400 yard's from main square, hotel fantastic for price, i stayed on the 4th floor, just views of streets really , my cousin's stayed on the 1st floor, JAZZ rooms which were fantastic changing light colour's and all that, highly recommend staying here all staff fantastic, book up you won't be disappointed, had a great stay and will be back with the wife next year,
We found this hotel very adequate; the room was good but not very large, the bar was welcoming although not very big, the food was good in the Polish Style - do not expect a Hilton type breakfast. The big plus for this hotel is the location - only five minutes walk from the Main Square with its restaurants and Cathedral and, in our case, the very good Christmas Market.
Just back from a 4 night stay starting November 30th 2015 . There were 6 of us in 3 rooms . From the moment we arrived very late on the first night , we found the staff to be really helpful and they provided excellent service at all times - We asked for extra pillows and this was given prompt attention . We booked a salt mine excursion for 4 through Reception which was excellent - 800 or more steps down though , lift up! Well worth the cost ! Two of us would recommend the Auswitz trip again booked at Reception. We also booked a taxi at Reception to the airport which was reasonable and on time . Easy checkout and a room to leave luggage afterwards. Excellent breakfast included in the price - one of the best for variety and quality that we've had ! All in all a very reasonably priced stay with only one minor fault - the double bed was next to the wall so difficult to get into . However I would certainly go back to this hotel ! I would recommend a visit to salt mines , the city tour is also good value when discounted , Schindler's factory is worth a visit and the market with delicious street food - loved the sausage and roast potatoes with Gluhwein !! Also the castle and the cathedral including the bell tower. There so much to see ! There are lots of good restaurants in the Old Town where you will be amazed by the quality of food and service for half the price and less than uk ! Draught local beer is good and very cheap . We were paying £20 to £25 a head for 3 courses incl drink - would have been more like £50 here ! Kraków is a lovely place with very welcoming people . The Hotel is a great base for a visit .
Have stayed many times at this hotel, location and breakfast were good. The room was small with a double bed in ,which you have to climb over to get in ,not really acceptable when you have both knees replaced, but we didn't complain. But what really upset me,was when 1500 PLN went missing from my plastic bag ,which was in my top coat breast pocket .I haven' t any concrete proof ,but the 15 notes were in the top pocket ,when we went to bed..The amount was for our stay ,which I offered to pay at the front desk when we arrived, but he refused so I kept it separated from the rest of the holiday cash.Had to do all the running around with out any prompting from the staff, who didn't believe me,and didn't care .CCTV revealed that no one entered room 111 at the breakfast time,so they told me..Obviously putting on the door do not disturb sign didn't help, when we vacated the room.My wife's coat had her studded pockets open, which she never opens due to it being a new coat and using the open pockets would distort the shape of the coat. Can't prove that. .The bag was left empty in my coat ,and nothing else was taken from the room.so no connection or proof to anybody.Police refused to take finger prints of plastic bag, and with no CCTV proof its seems all lies by me which sums up the perfect robbery as the police said. The fact was I had to pay the last 300PLN on my credit card ,because I had to pay twice for this little break,I had to make an appointment to see the manageress, thought it should been the other way round.Got the feeling nobody on the front desk wanted to help, which doesn't look good if they had said it is possible that an employee might had taken it,and we are looking into it. Now it is a police matter, but I will never know the outcome as I am not a Polish resident.
stayed at the hotel on 30th Nov to 4th Dec 2015 and booked 4 rooms for a group of friends. I booked and paid via the Best western website in May 2015 and no problems, until we arrived at were told that I had not made a booking and had in fact booked for two months the following year. This was quickly identified as a mistake however the hotel was full and my booking was overlooked. We were transferred to a sister hotel,(not as good) a little further out of town and returned the following day. taxis paid for in both directions by the hotel. This was my third stay at the hotel and it is really nice and centrally located, perfect for our needs and I the hotel placed a bottle of wine in each room which was a nice touch. The issue seems to be the link between Best Western and The hotel booking system, as when I was there another group had the same problem immediately in front of us and I was told by another guest that it happened the day before. This review should not detract from the hotel but the booking system so do call before you leave. I was very stressed by the booking issue and was made to feel it was my fault and took me several hours to calm down
Myself and my husband had 4 nights at the Best Western, krakow Old Town from 30 November. The hotel is typical of a 3 star hotel. Our double room overlooked the main road but we weren't kept awake by noise from traffic. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The only downside was lack of drawer and wardrobe space. The bathroom was quite small but it was very clean and the shower was very efficient. Breakfast was more than adequate with a choice of continental or cooked breakfast as well as fruit. The hotel is just a short walk for the old town and the main square where there are lots of bars and restaurants. The Christmas markets, street food and Christmas decorations put us in a festive mood. I would recommend a tour of the old town which includes the Jewish Quarter and Schindlers Factory. This was a truly wonderful city and well worth a visit.
Super large room, very comfortable and clean and great housekeeping. Breakfast was excellent BUT...the apples seemed a little mealy and the room itself was a little shabby, with fixtures askew, nothing terrible, but a little more attention to detail and it would be a knockout. The front desk staff were always good with questions. Easy walk to the center. Trams in all directions right outside. I would use this hotel again without any reserve!
My husband and myself stayed for 3 days, we were given a disabled room as my husband uses a wheelchair, the room was big enough and had a shower suitable for a disabled user with a stool, good shower with plenty of hot water. The beds were comfortable though as another reviewer said it can be noisy at the front of the hotel with the trams running up and down but we got used to it and it didn't spoil our sleep. Check in and check out was easy and the staff were very helpful with booking taxi's and trips. Breakfast was included and although it was a continental breakfast we got full and plenty to eat. The hotel is a few minutes walk to the main square where its all happening with plenty of bars and restaurants. All in all in I would recommend this hotel.
This is a 3 star hotel so it does what it says on the tin.You aren't going to get 4 star or 5 star facilities ,you'll get 3 star and if that's what you expect and what you've paid for you won't be disappointed. It's about 10 mins stroll to the market square in the Old Town so it''s well positioned. It's modern and we stayed in the Jazz section which is the most updated part.Check-in and check-out were easy and quick. Our room was a reasonable size and was clean. The shower room was compact but adequate and again was clean.Toiletries and towels were fine. The beds all appear to be twin with no doubles we ever saw . There was a tv with a couple of English language news channels. The only things about the room that I didn't like was the lack of drawers for clothes(and there are actually none at all) and the fact that the modern low energy lighting meant the room was sometimes too dark to read properly and shaving in the bathroom could be a challenge because there was a rather gloomy lighting that created shadows on my face.Minor irritations though overall. Breakfast was buffet style and very good.Lots of choice, hot, cold, fruit, cereals, pastries and unlimited coffee, tea, juices etc.Great start to the day. Reception staff were very helpful and friendly.I'd stay again
A very cheap hotel, but also nice. Good cleaning, nice and large room. Breakfast much better than expected. 5 minutes to the center. The only minus, noisy for room on the front side, on the backside, no problem. A good choice for a minimum of money
We stayed here in October 2015, we had 3 nights in hotel. First impression on entering was very good, friendly staff, clean hotel. quick check in then onto the rooms, we requested a double bed per couple but the rooms only had twin beds that we had to push together, not too much of a problem tho. Room was a good size, lovely large bathroom and very clean, lovely soft towels, and very comfy beds. We were very near the town centre so great location. Breakfast was eat as much as you like, continental and cooked breakfast, cereals, fruit, yoghurt, fresh meats and cheese and unlimited tea, coffee and juices. Very close to some lovely restuarants and shopping area. Had a very pleasant stay here and already looking into coming back..
I had a premium double room in the Jazz part, so the new part of the hotel. Booked a king-size bed but received two single. Room is standard but nice. Water, coffee and tea are available and for free. Beds are new, pillows big and soft, cosy lights, heating ok, bathroom very basic, wardrobes too small. Restaurant is typical Polish, prices are cheap. Breakfast is included and served as buffet, enough choices.
Just coming to the end of a three night stay . What can I say the hotel is five minute walk to everything square bars shops. The staff are very helpful we fogot our adapters and the reception staff lent us two no problem. The rooms are compact but clean nice hot shower and comfy beds what more do you need. The breakfast has a good selection of hot and cold buffet food and toast and fruit . I would recommend this hotel to everyone and a good cheap supermarket two doors away . A little gem in a beautiful city .
Hotel was excellent. When we first arrived the man on reception helped us with booking the salt mines and auschwitz tour. We then got our luggage carried up to our room for us. The room was a fantastic size, the only downfall was we had 2 single beds instead of a double but was no big deal! I would definitely recommend paying the extra for the superior room in the JAZZ area of the hotel as was very nice and classy. The breakfast was really good also, was just continental but very nice! Every member of staff we spoke to were really nice and helpful! This hotel is also in a great area, only a 2 minute walk from the square!
Plus points: Nice clean hotel, quiet, excellent location which was a stones throw from the old town. It was good value for money with helpful staff. Minus points: not really any big minuses but the food in the restaurant was just ok but not brilliant, room was a touch on the small side Overall though a great hotel that I would recommend and would also go back to.
Hotel is in a good location for most of the things to see . Room comfortable but not one of the biggest we have stayed in but we were out all day. Restaurant very busy at breakfast time (a bit small for the number of guests) give it a try.
Stayed for 5 nights over half term with 2 kids (12 & 14). Rooms clean, staff friendly and helpful and hotel is close to a lot of the main attractions in the city. Would stay here again and hopefully will do as I'd love to visit the city again. Tours and taxis can be booked at the desk - which is open 24 hours. Staff were very helpful with this for us - booked the salt mine and return taxi which both arrived in good time. It's on a main road, but across from a treelined route to the main square - which is a 5 minute walk away. The Jewish district is around a 10-15 walk away as is the large shopping mall. The restaurant/bar is basic, but sufficient for needs. Bar drinks very reasonably priced- roughly the cost of a low priced UK pub (£2-3 a pint of beer).
Spent 5 nights here in October. Easy to find. Reception friendly and helpful. Bags taken to room. Asked for a quiet room and received it. Modern room in the Jazz wing at the rear away from road. Clue to decor and lighting in room is given in the name 'jazz'. Room had adequate space, tea and coffee, but lacked hooks and drawer space. Open fronted wardrobe. No safe in room. Very quiet in room Hotel had a comfortable feeling, and it was warm. It also had an easygoing feel.Small bar partitioned off from larger restaurant area, which had a feeling of faded grandeur. Service, food and beer were great. Breakfast was taken in this area. This was buffet style and the choice was adequate. Location was fantastic. Just across the road from the old town. Small supermarket right next door was open till late. Several tram stops only metres away, taking you where you want to go. We had a 24 hour ticket for 15Zt. Lots of places to buy day tours to Auscwich, salt mine etc. Hotel will also arrange. Also lots of places to eat, very good and quite cheap. Would stay here again, and would recommend.
This was the second time we have stayed here. We stayed here for 5 nights. We had requested the same room as our previous visit. (To the rear) The hotel were happy to grant our request. We checked in early + our room was ready for us. The staff were all friendly and helpful The room and bathroom were clean, Tea and coffee making facilities were provided - as was bottled water. The tram noise was a lot less this year (Looks like they have done some work on the tracks outside) Breakfast was standard continental style. There was plenty of it too. The coffee machine was excellent. In the main, everything was quiet at night, except our last night when some guests came in and were very loud. Although this was only for a few minutes.
Spent 3 nights at this hotel with our son. The hotel is well located, clean and comfortable and overlooks a park area. It is only a few minutes walk to the old town, main market square etc. The trams, taxis are all in walking distance also. Breakfasts were good, with a wide selection of food available. One grumble is that for a "hot" breakfast you had such a small plate. Hotel should provide larger plates as it is such a nuisance having lots of small plates on the table. We had a minor problem on arriving as the young man on duty did not know about the Best Western rewards and as a Diamond member we should have had an immediate upgrade and be allowed to check in early. When this was pointed out, we did get an upgrade to room 223 which was very nice. The rooms are not large like you get in the USA, but the bed was clean and comfortable and the hotel was nice and quiet. Would certainly return to it if we return to Krakow.
This hotel is in a great location, looking onto a park within two minutes walk of the main square. Staff friendly and helpful, hotel spotless. Our room was quite small but had everything that we needed, clean and warm.
Just come back from a long weekend break in Krakow.Best Western Hotel in Old Town. Very clean and well kept hotel. Our room 307 was on the front facing main road and tram service, we had no problems with traffic noise which I thought was going to be. Room itself was very clean and kept that way all w/end no problems at all. Breakfast was a little different,Time is between 7am and 10am it seems the later you go down the less choice there is. they do`nt replenish the foodstuff very quickly. There is a decent choice of hot and cold buffet but the later it is the colder the hot stuff gets. As a party of 6 we thought the food is prepared out back but forgot about till someone comes out to check the buffet table, by then things start getting cold. Hotel is well situated for the main square a 10min stroll and you are in the middle of it all. The streets are kept clean and tidy and the square has no litter problems that we saw at all. Never got to see everything so will be returning sometime and will definately be using the same hotel.
Clean and comfortable . The staff were polite and very helpful . However when. We arrived, the hotel was, overbooked and we had to stay I another sister hotel I. The Jewish quarter for one night . Continental breakfast was plentiful with something for everyone . Room was, serviced everyday .
First of all the location of the hotel is superb, since it is within 10-15 walking distance from the main station, the shopping centre and the old town square, and there is a supermarket next door. Prior to coming here I had seen some reviews which indicated that the bathrooms were small, but we did not find this to be the case. Our room was on the third floor with a nice view over the courtyard and was very comfortable. The wifi worked well, the breakfast was very good, and the reception staff were very helpful and friendly. They arranged trips to the salt mines and Auschwitz, and our taxi back to the airport, without any difficulty. It was a lovely place to come back to after exploring and sight seeing, as it felt like home! We also had an early taste of white Christmas weather as it snowed on our second day there! I'd genuinely love to go back again one day.
Our arrival after a long flight was unpleasant. We had made a 7-night reservation two months earlier only to learn, when we arrived at the hotel, that it would not be honored for the first night because of overbooking and that we were to go to another BW hotel located in the former Jewish part of town. I refused because to us location is essential as we needed to be at or very near Old Town and the proposed location would have required us to use public transportation to get to Old Town. After a not always pleasant exchange and after my informing the front desk clerk that his boss would not be pleased with my Trip Advisor hotel review, he relented and send us to an hotel located near Old Town. It turned out to be a good hotel but still, taxi to the new hotel, place luggage in custody because it was too early to check-in; the following morning same story: taxi back to BW, luggage in custody for the same reason. Time wasted. The hotel location is quite good: 10 minute easy walk to the main square, and to go the castle another 10 minute walk in the opposite direction. We had a large room, with plenty of storage space, hangers and shelves. Very adequate bathroom. Front desk was helpful with info on local transportation. Very good and abundant breakfast, with something for every taste. Caveat: on Saturday night we could not sleep before 4 am because of loud music and shouts coming from the hotel restaurant, followed by door-slamming by passengers trying to find their way from the restaurant to their rooms. Hotel rates are reasonable for Krakow. In sum, this is a perfectly OK hotel to stay in if you don't mind running the risk of having your first night reservation not honored because of overbooking. Saturday night noise may perhaps be reduced by asking for a room on a higher floor.
Well positioned Hotel for sightseeing and shopping. Staff polite and helpful. Our room was positioned on the first floor at the front of the Hotel which is fine if you are a heavy sleeper like me , but if noise bothers you ask for a room at the back of the hotel because trams run throughout the night at the front of the hotel. My room was very clean if you need anything extra in your room just fill in the forms in your room and they will oblige. The bar seating area is a bit on the small side if you are in a group. You need to get up early for breakfast to avoid the rush. Good selection of food at breakfast. Would stay here again.
If you want a good quality three star hotel in the perfect location for a short visit to Krakow, the Best Western in the Old Town ticks most of the right boxes. The staff are helpful and efficient, the room in the Jazz annex was great and the breakfast was fine. All of the main attractions such as the main square and Wawel Hill are a short walk away as are the bus and train stations. The only minor bad points are the lack of a fridge or mini bar in the room and there was no safe to keep valuables. I would have no hesitation in staying here again
From the reviews and photos did not expect as big and modern a hotel. Only drawback to this is the tour groups..as noted in other reviews they can take over the breakfast room making it difficult for other guests, esp since they are on a schedule they all arrive at about same time! Had reserved room in Jazz wing basically for air conditioning..2nd week in September was still HOT! Room was in 100 wing so getting to it was convoluted, elevator around a bend then downstairs, view of parking lot and a little patio area off of restaurant , ask to be away from this area as guests can congregate late and early and noise comes thru closed windows. Shower fine, would prefer tub, and yes no amenities,,just the soap dispensers in shower and by sink. Would prefer mini bar and in room safe to mood lighting! But location was great...close to Old Town and Wawel castle, tram a couple of blocks up the road takes you quickly to Schindler Museum and there are automatic machines to buy tram tickets across from the stop. Info in room says the water is safe to drink once boiled..hence the bottles of water in the room. I asked at desk and was told obviously people of Krakow drink Krakow water, but like any where guests might not be tolerant of local water so water provided and warning. Breakfast fine when not overcrowded....clean, room serviced well, Size of room in Jazz wing fine, bed comfortable. Took taxi from airport but easy walk to train station for departure. Asked desk for restaurant recommendations, directions to Schindler museum, very pleasant. Stayed 3 nites, could have used another!
From the time of booking I was impressed by the professionalism of the staff in this hotel. Arrangements were made for a taxi to collect us from the airport, all of our requests were dealt with expeditiously and confirmed by email. I stayed in this hotel a number of years ago. It has changed immensely, has been completely upgraded, the interior has been modernised, the bedrooms beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The rooms were maintained to a high level during our stay, I was impressed by the proforma asking us what services we required each day. Tea and coffee facilities available in the bedroom, as are bottles of water. The beds are very comfortable, ensuite is of a high standard, as is the bed linen and towels. Breakfast was very enjoyable (although rather busy) with a wide range of choices from yoghurts, cereals, fresh and dried fruit, boiled eggs and other cooked food, cheese, cold meats and pickles. There was a good choice of bread, rolls, butter, jams and honey and the coffee machine offered an excellent coffee. Staff throughout the hotel were helpful, I should mention the breakfast waiter and the reception staff in particular who went out of their way to be helpful. I would certainly return to this hotel if visiting Kraków.
Right in the centre of the old town. Walking distance from restaurants, markets, land marks. Near all amenities, sight seeing, buses, trains, spacious rooms. Great buffet breakfast. Super clean. Friendly and helpful staff with bookings etc
Perfect location, in walking distance of the old town & other sights. We had a double room 403, quiet, small/compact. You could only get in the bed from one side of the room, so if your partner needed to get out in the night they would have to climb over you. Very good power shower. As we were there over a weekend we expected it to be busy for breakfast on the Sunday but there was no organisation, the restaurant Manager has Sundays off & no-one is in charge. We waited 35 mins along with fellow quests to get a table. We had to keep going back & forwards to the restaurant waiting for guests to leave their table. When we eventually found a table we had to clear it ourselves. There wasn't enough staff, I felt sorry for the few working. The food was not replenished, there was no juice, muesli, eggs, jams or pancakes. Very poor breakfast experience, I spoke to the Reception & they said it was because they busy. There wasn't a feedback form in the room, so I wrote the complaint down & handed it to the Reception, explaining that it was a complaint about the poor breakfast. Nothing was said. I feel the reception staff may require some customer service training. Throughout our stay not one of the rececption team, greeted us with a good morning/night & when we checked out, there was no thank you for staying or how was your stay.
This hotel is situated in good area close to centre. Before booking this hotel I emailed to ask if they could cater for me, I have coeliacs disease and need a gluten free diet. They assured me they could, it would be no problem. Unfortunately for the 4 days of my stay they didn't have bread or cereal or any king of gluten free products. I complained each day and they told me they would have something for next day to which they never did.
Close to Old Town, which is why I rated it as very good. It is close walking distance from the things you'll want to see. Old world style elegance in lobby and public areas. My first thought upon stepping into our room on the 4th floor was, "cramped quarters!" We had to navigate around each other to move from one end to the other. As we didn't spend a lot of time here except to sleep, it wasn't a big issue. The elevators actually stop between floors Say, if you are going to the 3rd floor, I recommend you go to the 4th so you can walk down the stairs to the real 3rd floor. If you are on the 4th, sorry, you'll have to carry your bags up a flight of stairs. They are environmentally supportive, asking guests to use room trash for paper, plastic or metal and other trash in bathroom trash can. They ask you don't leave lights on. The included breakfast is okay with the usual Polish fare; cheeses, meats, yogurt, cereals, eggs.
There are some good, bad and ugly features to this hotel. First the good. It is great location to visit the Old Town and Wawel Castle. It is close to the train station and easily walkable with hand luggage. The breakfast is quite good selection of all that you might want. The rooms are comfortable and large enough. The bad is that the internet connection requires you login through your facebook, google, or email address and only lasts for ten minutes. So, you constantly have to reconnect. At least this was my experience even though they told me that the connection was stay. I found the shower stall to be very small for me and I am not a large person. Was difficult to shower. The ugly is that the elevator does not have a stop on the second floor. It goes from 1st floor to 3rd floor. They gave me a room on the second floor and told me the elevator was just around the corner from the reception desk. I go to the elevator and there is no indicator for the 2nd floor. I push the third floor button hoping it might stop on the second floor. No way. After a couple of trips up and down the elevator I get out on the third floor and take the stairs down to the second. If you have a lot of luggage or heavy luggage this is a problem. Avoid the second floor. The first morning I go down to breakfast at 7am as I like to go early and avoid the later crowd. Unfortunately, there was a large tour group staying in the hotel and they were leaving at 9. The place was full and no place to sit and have a coffee. I went back three times and the place was still full. Finally, at about 9am I could get a place to sit and most of the tour group had left. Be aware of the tour groups. Third, after a long day of sightseeing and having a late dinner I come back to the hotel and there is a private party going on in the restaurant/bar area. I get to my room on the second floor and can hear the music going loudly. Enough to keep me awake for several hours and it finally ends at 4 in the morning. I then hear them moving table and chairs to put the place back in shape for the breakfast at 7am. So, other than the inconvenience you might experience with tour group, the elevator and possible all night party, this is still a reasonably good place to stay.
We had a lovely time here.it was grt position for the old square and Castle.u can hire bike in the old town it is very bike friends.the shopping mall is big.the only down on the hotel is the rooms don't have a fridge in them.also we arrive late so the bar was not open.so the hotel could have vending machine for drinks and food.the breakfast was great hot and cold.staff very good.we would stay here again.
For the price, this hotel met my expectations. I had a double room. It was quite small (I've had smaller in NY) with one side of the bed against the wall. There is a small closet and desk in the room. This room was fine for one person for one night. I would not want to stay in this room longer than one night or with another person. The decor was a little dated but the room was clean. They have the big square European pillows. I asked for 2 extra and they were promptly delivered to my room. The room AC worked well. The bathroom was a decent size with a shower with a shampoo/body wash dispenser - meaning it's the same product for your hair and body with no hair conditioner. Which leads me to an important note is that they don't have many bath amenities in the room - the shampoo/body soap dispenser, hand soap dispenser and a blow dyer. Maybe you can ask for something if you need it; I didn't try. Breakfast and wifi was complimentary with my room. The breakfast was your typical european breakfast - no complaints. The wifi was good as well. The staff was friendly and helpful with directions.
We spent the weekend at this hotel and the only two really positive things I can say about it are; the location and the outside of the building was nice looking. I booked with a booking website but I also contacted the hotel directly by email to request the following; 1) a quiet room at the back - they gave us a room at the front, 2) a king size bed - they gave us twins. When I complained they offered me an upgrade to the new part of the hotel - as if they were doing me a favour and when I saw the room I decided to stay with the one we were given because it was slightly bigger and also the bed in the new room was small. On my my email I also requested if they could book a trip to Auschwitz but when we got there no trip had been booked because they said you have to do it in the hotel but this was not communicated to me by email Anyway we made our own arrangements. The decor is depressing and needs updating. The carpet in the room was old. The shower door did nt close properly and the beds were very soft. The hairdryer works for 3 minutes and then overheats. You have to let it cool and re-start it so a normal blow dry takes almost a half hour instead of 10 minutes. Breakfast was only ok but not empty platters were not re-filled quickly enough. They did leave a bottle of wine compliments of the hotel in our room as it was my husband's birthday. I m sorry because I don t like to give bad reviews but this hotel was disappointment for us.
