"Close to industrial area but with some possible improvements "
I stayed in BW hotel for a business trip. Hotel is very close to the industrial area and it is ok if you are planning a business trip. The restaurant close at 8.30pm during the week, this is a negative point. Also because in the near area there aren't so many restaurant where is possible have dinner. It would be appreciate if it will be open till 9.30pm. The evaluation of the room is sufficient. Far to the city center, 20-30 minutes by car
"Good luck getting laundry done"
Three days of trying to get laundry done. 14 floors, ONE washer and ONE dryer for all hotel guests. Staff is great, never had a cleaner room, hotel is great looking. Food is way over the top in terms of expense. Pay for breakfast (everything is already cold at 0700 when they first open). Menu isn't much and again, very expensive for the quality. Long story short, don't stay here more than a couple days if you enjoy clean clothes.
"Let's work to be better"
I would've given this property a better review if they worked harder at a couple of items. First off, the good; the gentleman in the front desk, goes by the name of Brian, was very helpful and did a wonderful job with our accommodations as best he could. The rooms were definitely better than what I would expect from a Best Western. Clean, comfy, and room service was great. To The not so good; we didn't get a chance to eat at the lobby dining. Every time we tried, there was some event going on where we were not allowed to sit there. The rooms didn't have a microwave. When I went downstairs to heat up a quick meal, the attendant told me to go across the drive and use the convenient store. Not acceptable. It would've been nice if the sauna was operational. The workout room was not to par. It was great to know that the surrounding area had some exciting choices of food. You just had to drive a little. Maybe about 15 minutes out. All in all, a pleasant experience and would certainly return and give them a chance to do better. Mike
"Terrible swimming pool "
Terrible swimming pool. My girlfriend and I went here for a day at the pool and were absolutely disappointed. The pool was half-full. I have no idea why, but the water literally only came up half way. Best Western should be better than this.
"Hotel Does not offer much"
No room service. Gym has old equipment. Water no given in room daily. No room service and you could also no take food to your room for restaurant. Food over priced. Men's Spa closed for the rest of the year. Turned heat on so AC could not be turned on. Staff is friendly
"Watch out how you pay for the breakfast buffet"
I've stayed at this hotel three times and had no issues at all in the past. It is new and clean and quiet. However, had the breakfast buffet charged to my room and then paid cash for it upon checkout. My travel partner paid cash at the buffet and did not understand the cashier. She made the 16,000 Won (less than 16 USD) breakfast buffet sound like 60,000 Won (just under 60 USD). He paid 60,000 Won and got back no change. When we brought this up at the reception desk upon checkout, they claimed no one paid cash for breakfast the day before. That they would review the video and get back with us. Not very good customer service for this kind of inquiry.

"Good hotel but in Industrial Area - far from downtown"
Even though it was business visit and need to stay near industrial area - I thick one can compromise on bit travelling rather staying here. Hotel staff is courteous and happy to help but with limitation of English and their regulations. Late evening hours - no dinner available. No room service even in odd hours. Breakfast timings are limited and nothing to do / go in nearby area. Overall - better to stay in city area compare to this for business travellers who has options available.

"Nice hotel near industrial area"
I had business at the nearby industrial park and stayed overnight. The lunch and breakfast buffets were very good. Some of the business folks come to the hotel for lunch as restaurants in the immediate area seem limited. I did run into a very large tour group that made breakfast a challenge. Rooms were clean and comfortable. All in all a good hotel for business travelers that has a Western feel to it.

"Only 4 star in town"
Stayed a night at Best Western. The hotel is still relatively new. Rooms clean and nice. Location was out of town centre new to expo. Nearby indoor golf was fun to go to and have a few beers while playing indoor golf You need a car to get there

"Nice Hotel"
Best Westerns in Korea are actually quite modern and upscale as opposed to Best Westerns in the U.S., which are more like motels than hotels. This one is very modern in design and decor. It is a bit in the middle of nowhere, but that's Gunsan in general. You have to drive to the city for activities. There is a small convenience store outside the hotel which is sufficient for snacks and travel needs. I would stay at this hotel again if I am in Gunsan.

"Beautiful Stay"
Spent the night at this hotel as part of a Group on a field trip from Seoul. Check in was smooth, my room was on the 6th floor! Very nice and very comfortable. Breakfast was a buffet! Very wide selection and really tasty too. It's a pity I only stayed one night. Lovely hotel!

"The best choice in the area"
since Gunsan does not offer many quality places to stay and is not a tourist town, the choices are very limited. This Hotel is the best choice you can select to take relax after a busy day of work. Comfortable, with all the amenities you may need, I strongly suggest to all visitors.

"Excellent hotel away from the downtown"
I spend in this hotel two nights in Febtuary 2016. Everything was perfect but the restauranft - buffet during breakfast time. Extermally cold. Extra heating should be applied. My room was provided with kitchen, Had owen and fridge. Great solution. Thanks

"Nice hotel in Saemangeum area."
CY ( 2015.12.29 ) I and my wife want to vacation in a quiet area, so we selected this hotel. Our choice was good, because there had good condition and facilities. The staff was kind, and room took my fancy. But there was need to some more facilities, for example convenience store, and view in hotel was not good. Overall, this hotel was good, and the price was excellent. If you want to to stay in a quiet area, there was right.

"Good Hotel in small Gunsan"
Having stayed in a lot of hotels in Korea, I was kind of surprised by this hotel. Generally anything south of Seoul is not so good in the decent hotel category with decent breakfast line but this hotel ticked all the boxes, with only a couple of negative points. Gunsan is a small city so there is nothing really close to the hotel, except a few local shops and convenience shops. It is also close to the bus station. The rooms were comfortable and clean and of a very good size. The only gripe was the air con didn't seem to work. There is a sticker saying that the air-con only works with the windows closed, but it still didn't work. In a room with only one window and the humidity in Korea the night's sleep was a little warm. The bathroom is nice and had a very nice shower. I also used the very small gym which had a few running machines and some weights but no showers so you need to go back to your room for a shower. The main thing I really liked about the hotel was the breakfast, the selection was really good. Plenty for all tastes, all freshly cooked. That is why I say this hotel is good because finding a hotel outside of Seoul with a decent breakfast buffet is quite rare. Will go back if I go back to Gunsan again.

"Business visit"
Stayed at this hotel for a visit at the HHI shipyard nearby. The hotel is very good and close to the shipyard, however city is about 20km away and no other restaurants nearby in walking distance. The facilities and room condition are excellent.

"Have a Luxury stay with fair fare !!!!"
Staying in this 5 stars hotel gave our visit to south west of korea a deferent view of luxury hotels prices. It was just a rest of one night on our way to the south of the peninsula. Really Nothing around, so better to make your shopping on the way. Believe it or not, booking the hotel from the hotel's website is cheaper than any other sites, room rate was 60$on Best Western site/ 78$~ by others !!!!!

"Great hotel "
A clean, well preserved hotel very close to the shipyard that we were working at. Nothing close or around but the city is just 20min away by taxi. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area either for business or personal matter. Rooms large and bathroom good size

"A touch of luxury in an otherwise industrial area"
I stayed in a Double room which was a large size and very modern. The price was reasonable, check in was easy and the staff were friendly. There is free wifi which was convenient. There was a 24 hour gym which was handy, but it's tiny, 3 treadmills and one machine, but at least it was available. The only issue I had at this hotel was that they do not have irons and would not bring one to your room, you had to go to the 2nd floor laundry which was very inconvenient.

"Best Western Best in Gunsan"
Stayed for up to a week on several occasions over a 1 year period. Never anything other than a first class service from a first class hotel. There are several shops about 5 minutes drive away if you know your way around. A whole street of various types of shops which should cater for everyday needs. The hotel itself is clean and well managed. Rooms are fitted out to a high standard. Easy to locate as it's just off Highway 26. Quick and easy to get to Gunsan city centre.

"Lovely Hotel, but....."
I booked this hotel for our trip to Gunsan and Jeonju, because we wanted western-style accommodation and we read that this hotel had a sauna and workout room. However, upon check-in, we discovered that the sauna is "men only." Can't be more disappointed about that. I will not return. The beds are comfy and the room and bath are perfect. Just such a huge disappointment that such a lovely spa is men only. I would think, at the very least, hours could be designated for women only if they couldn't provide a spa for the ladies. This aspect just made me grumpy.
