Best Western Bloomington Edina - Minneapolis

I was nervous about staying here after reading the recent reviews, but it turned out to be a great hotel! We didn't have issues with staff, hotel and rooms were very clean, there were no problems with the pool or hot tub like I had read, and breakfast was delicious! My kids loved the waffles with the extra toppings the provided.

I stayed here the Sunday before President's Day with my children. The room was clean, comfortable and had queen beds. We booked the room for four people, yet were only provided three bath towels. My 7 yr old son had to use a hand towel. I can usually tell a hotel is cutting corners by not providing the correct amount of towels. I had owned a hospitality business for 29 yrs and was always told to have 3.5 sets of towels for each person a room slept (one set in rooms, one in wash, and one waiting to be used). The pool was a nice temp and hot tub was hot. I do believe the chemicals were wrong on the hot tub as the water was green. At 10pm, there were no pool towels. My daughter went to front desk requesting 4 and she was given 3 as they stated that was all they had. Breakfast was adequate, however, they shut it down early. We got down there at 9:18 and it was supposed to stay open until 9:30. At 9:23, items were already being pulled. My daughter was making a waffle, they pulled the fork like utensil, so she had to take off the hot iron with her fingers! I wanted some meat patties, but they already took the tongs, so I too had to use my fingers. This was our first time staying at the hotel. Even with the lack of towels and breakfast closing early, it was clean and a reasonable price, so we would stay again. Thank you for a quick mini stay after a long day at the MOA!

Great stay near the airport. Very safe, clean, and comfortable. There is a Denny's attached and many other options very nearby. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. The breakfast had hot food such as eggs and sausage, which was a treat.

asked for clean towels on the second day and was told there were none and had to ask a few times before getting any other p[people told us the same thing happened to them the breakfast left a lot to be desired

We've stayed on two occasions for a total of three nights at this property during the past five months. It has a convenient location and resonable rates. The breakfasts are sub-par and it appears to be understaffed.

I was refused om a rude way, but they could or want to say why. A day later i talked to the manager and she told it was because of a incident of June 2022. I rember later that i then could not check in because problems with the computer and i have to wait. When i was waiting people get in and get a room. So i ask why i have to wait and people came after me get a room. After 5 days i asked why there no one come to clean the room and the answer was there is no housekeeping. So disappointed.

My husband and I made such an effort to stay at Best Westerns last spring to get bonus rewards points. My husband died unexpectedly 9 weeks ago. I thought it would be a tribute to him to use the bonus points to pay for a room in Minneapolis recently. I did not realize that this was not allowed in the Best Western Rewards program. I ended up paying full price for the room. The general manager treated me like I was deceitful rather than having made a mistake. She would not refund the 16,000 points to my husband's account. She was rude and abrasive and also said things that weren't true like that I had tried to use my husband's credit card 3 times over 2 days. His credit card, even though it is a joint account was not in my possession while I was in Minneapolis and I was only in this hotel one day. She also said I had approached different employees about this problem and there was only one woman (Kristen) that I talked to at the desk. This has left me offended and further saddened about the loss of my husband. Additionally, near to my room on the 4th floor, the housekeepers were having a loud morning party. I thought this would be difficult for a guest to sleep in the morning. I would not stay in this hotel again and I would not recommend it to anyone.

This was our first time staying at a BW. We hoped it would be good but it exceeded our expectations. The lobby was fresh and bright, there were plenty of spaces to sit and relax. The pool area and workout room were clean (though we didn't use) and the pool is open later than most places we've been. The location was perfect to go between MOA and Valleyfair. The room was clean, stylish and perfectly stocked with everything we needed. The breakfast buffet had more variety and longer hours than we've seen.

The hotel was 100% full which was very surprising considering how poorly run it is. People must be booking here thinking it's a Best Western so it must be pretty good. Unfortunately no. Front desk staff is indifferent to problems. Housekeeping is awful. When we checked in it was not properly cleanes. Bottom bed sheet had a blood stain (was it changed from last guest?), dirty washcloth left in shower, old pair of jeans behind chair in room. Spoke to housekeeping supervisor in the morning and they changed the bed sheet but left the jeans. The next day after being out all day we returned to a room that had not been serviced by 5:00. This after having to go back down to the front desk because our keys no longer worked. Housekeeper was next door - showed her the unclean room and she said she'd be back in un momento. Instead she left for the day. Tried calling the front desk - phone didn't work. So went down again and was told if we want a room that's clean and has a working phone she can move us (hotel was no longer full after the weekend). No thanks, just give me clean towels. This will take a while cause she'll have to go to the laundry room to see if she had any. Wait and wait while she does other things before going. It's really the attitude that gets them to 1 star. No one even wants to look like they're trying. Oh, and the breakfast? What a cluster. They couldn't keep up with demand. Both mornings we went down the hot food serving trays were empty. You could make a waffle. If you wanted to wait 15 minutes in line. Well, get a coffee to bring back to the room. The lids don't even fit the cups. Skip this place!

First and foremost, the hotel is not clean. We arrived to find old sour yogurt on top of the fridge. Inside the fridge was dirty. The elevator had garbage in it. Went to have a shower and old hair was stuck to the wall and soap scum in the one tiny dish. The water pooled at the feet because it drained so slowly. The shower curtain had to be snapped on because it was hanging. The feel of it was slimy. The ceiling is low in the shower, I could not extend my arms over my head. The fan, while noisy, didn't take the fog out. Beds were uncomfortable and there was makeup on the pillows. There were only three towels. No tissue in the box. The hand lotion was used and nearly empty. The “blackout” curtains did no such thing. There was a large flashing light on the balcony (that doesn't open). The USB charger did not work. The microwave needed to be wiped down. Breakfast was bad, very bad. Waffles stuck in the maker despite sprayed, the egg omelettes were still frozen. The bread was stale. The tater tots were also still frozen. Tables were dirty, no one around to clean them. When I asked about the taters I was told they're fine. And when I asked for a table to be wiped down I was walked away from. The staff cleared out the breakfast area before 10. And then I had to go back in because I had forgotten something and all the cleaning staff were sitting (at clean tables!) eating. That's fine that the hotel does that for the staff, but they had everything refilled and clean for themselves and treated the guests like garbage. Speaking of garbage, every garbage can I saw was overflowing. I stayed three days and the same pizza boxes stayed stacked on the garbage cans on our floor. The wifi didn't work well if at all, so I incurred out of country data usage in order to stay connected. When I tried to approach the desk about some issue the woman with glasses and tattoos was so grouchy, I didn't want to get treated the way the others in front of me were. I believe this used to be an AmericInn and I stayed there years ago. This new branding has left a bad taste for best western with me and my family.

Hotel was clean and comfortable. Staff was nice. Breakfast was great with a variety of hot and cold options and always well stocked. Our room was clean and comfortable. Only complaint was we could never get on the wifi. Would stay again if in the area.

A very clean hotel. Staff, especially the lovely housekeeping ladies, were very kind. There were more than enough choices for breakfast. Although it is not located in any main area of the city, we found several shopping areas and restaurants within a 2km walking distance. Easy access to highways to quickly get you to major destinations. A great place to stay at a reasonable price.

The location was ok not to bad . Parking on site is good. The room wasn't very pleasant smell like mold and old . The swimming pool was terrible for the kids dark ,small and the chlorine was over and you can't even breath in the swimming pool area . The worse experience was with the front desk staff they we're very rude , start when I arrived little early around 1pm and I asked if I can check in early if it's possible the answer was no with attitude and right away she said I could check in if I pay the $30 early check in fee . Then she walked inside to the office . Was very tired coming from 13 hours drive . Anyway will never use this location ever again or recommend it to anyone at all

I am a platinum best western member. I called the hotel to see if we could do an early check-in on the day of arrival. I was told yes if the rooms were available. I then pre-checked in and was given a window of two to three to check in. I was nowhere told that there was an extra fee for checking in. We arrived a little after 2:00 to be fairly rudely told that. Oh well, you can have a free bottle of water as a platinum member. I called Best Western customer service as I feel if I was offered a check in window of two to three without being informed of additional fees, that that should be honored. I got nowhere with them and the guy at the front desk, when I asked him to show me on the Best Western website where it says that, he let me know that he would not be able to do that. And then he recommended I read before I book next time. I am sitting waiting to get into the room, so the hotel may be nice, but the customer service leaves a lot to be desired.

Rude unprofessional staff and management. They don't take accountability for 'their" mistakes but will continue to lie. We will never stay at any Best Western ever again. Disgusting behavior. There are plenty of better places to stay. I do not recommend this place at all.

My wife was harassed by the front desk and when we went to our room there were already other guests in there. No apology or anything when we went to the front desk and they didn't offer to clean the room since other people had been in there. We had to find another hotel because we did not want to stay there any more and we were there for a funeral. Not the kind of stress we wanted to go through. Also, no refund was ever offered and I am still waiting on a response that I made to customer service. I will never be back here and will likely not visit another best western again if this is how they handle situations like this.

The lady at the front desk was very rude, they charged me for two nights when I changed my reservation to one night! The pool was foggy and dirty, the hallways stunk like weed, it was loud, no extra blankets wouldn't even give us extra toilet paper! It was a horrible stay

Evening front desk agent was rude and would rather be on her phone, room was spacious and nice, balcony doors don't open. Breakfast was great with a different selection everyday. I would possibly consider staying here again.

Arrived and as I was checking in, they added a $100 deposit for incidentals. It wasn't on the website. That's a big red flag for me, this is a bad way to do business. It needs to be on the website if you're going to have that deposit. I specifically look for these deposit, I won't stay there if they have that. It makes it look like they'll treat me like a criminal since I don't take anything from the room. Avoid this hotel at all costs.

Convenient close parking, my room was clean, quiet restful night-not noisy as I feared being so tired. The free wi-fi was good, hotel had good bkfst options & woman was very friendly check-out, made it easy & stress-free considering the week I'd had.

Only the 3rd floor ice machine works and it has mold in it. The other floors do not work at all. It does not cost that much to repair/replace an ice machine. BTW i AM RETIRED FACILITIES MAINTENANCE FROM NORTHWEST AIRLINES.

hot tub was completely empty. we didn't know that until we got our suits on and walked in the pool door. At check-in though they touted adults only after 11pm. Who the hell cares if there's no hot tub? I would have stayed somewhere else. Horrible mattresses also. Haven't been that sore the next morning in a long time

After multiple direct reservations from BW website, I reserved two nights through Hotels.com's app and paid 153.82 to Hotels.com. in the first day of this stay I complained about two $100 of hold that was not released, instead of apology, they took an extra $90.47 from my account, in the next day when I asked for that money, they took another $90.47 again, at checkout time when I asked for both, they swept my account to $0.00 taking $278.48, overall of 613.24 for a room that was $61.. per night. I called BW customer service, but they said is up to the hotel! First time I talked to the hotel's general manager, Christin, she told me that she cannot see any charge, the last time she falsified and tried to confuse me, assuming that I cannot get my $459.42 back, and it was like she was collaborating with Sheekugu in this scam. More… For the last day when I returned around 4:00 am from my night shift, my room's key was not working and nobody was in front desk until 5:15 am And much more problems

This hotel was ok for the price, the initial introduction with the little, bald girl was a little rude, but what can you expect for a hotel next to a Denny's? The room was comfortable, bathroom had some interesting rust colour on the ceiling, fruit flies surprisingly was blossoming from the bathroom as well. The pool area was nice, they didn't provide towels so bring your own from the room! The hot tub was FULL, like I submerge myself and the water overflows over the ledge. The swimming pool was decent, swam in the area during a storm outside was a whole adventure. Breakfast in the morning is always a thumbs up for me. Some eggs, make your own waffles, bacon, cereal, juice, bread, muffins, and a quiet atmosphere to enjoy it.. or just take it back to your room to enjoy with some tv! All in all, I liked it enough, but where I was hanging out, I'm going to pay a little extra to have a little better of an experience.

Bring coffee you'll be there awhile if you need something. Staff was always coming in from outside and surprised to see someone waiting at the desk. This happened on many occasions during our stay and there were 4 rooms on my account which means I had several family members with me. The beds weren't the most comfortable but for a short stay it was okay. The cleanliness was fantastic so thsnk you for that.

Do not stay here. Front desk is snooty and rude, week smell everywhere and it seems to be a homeless shelter or a temp prostitution / crack house for the majority of the 2 weeks I stayed there. I did not feel safe and the breakfast was def processed junk food.

We exclusively stay at Best Westerns and this one we would not return to. The hall and room smelled musty, the breakfast was rubbery, nobody had keys to the maid closet apparently so we couldn't get any extra pillows or requested toiletries, there's limited snacks at the front desk but no vending machines, and the shower drained so slowly I stood in ankle deep water to shower. You can hear noise easily through the walls and the USB port didn't work to charge cell.
