We found everything in good condition and working. This is our second stay at this facility, and we will return again if we need to be in the area. The front desk personnel were friendly and helpful plus the place looked clean and tidy, except for the pool area could use a little clean up.
Rude manager.should not be working with customers. Fire in the kitchen elevator doesn't work. Room keys don't work. After explaining my concerns to the manager Monique the basic lyrics told me oh well. You have a room don't you? Unacceptable
Clean hotel, the housekeepers are the best, they have that hotel smelling so good from floor to floor and the rooms are Great… Maintenance is very responsive and quick,Front desk manger Renae is the best, she is very nice caring and knows how to do her job very well!!! This hotel is the best !!
Pool area not as advertised, no daily housekeeping unless requested. Staff responsive to issues but not proactive or aware of the problems.
Nice and friendly staff Very helpful and informative Clean rooms Quiet and peaceful Definitely recommend Great area Close to shops and food
04/28/24- 04/30/24… Not only have I worked in the industry for over 20 years renovating hotels, because of that I have had to stay in many while working. This by far is not a new hotel but I will tell you, it was the cleanest, friendliest staff I have ever had the pleasure of being taken care of by. For the price point you might expect far less. The room was clean, well appointed and not smelly in the least. The breakfast was edible, hot and well laid out. They have a noise policy that apparently works pretty well because in my three day stay I was not inconvenienced by a loud guest and the hotel was pretty well filled. Corridors were clean, etc. I could go on and on. I just this property and those who run it deserve a thank you for that these times they came through big time. You have my accolades and deserve them. A little make up on a hand towel worth less than a dollar? FORTY DOLLARS in hotel damages. I'm 55, my mother is nearly 80 and we finally reached rockstar status by being charged damages. The internet dropped me out of my zoom meeting twice. The charging station didn't work on my rental car (even though the app said it would). They ran out of forks and plates. The whole place needed a little tune up.
Nice large room with king bed on 2nd floor. Room was clean and not worn. Bed wasn't as comfortable as we like. Too hard for our liking. Noise in hall was easier heard than average. Lots of cable TV options. Wifi was fine. Nice staff. Breakfast was good with plenty of options. Right next to Lowes. I would stay again.
Excellent staff. Front desk people are all awesome! Manager is super nice. Rooms are excellent and those that take care of the rooms and breakfast and property super clean!! Food is good close to everything. Including all highways. Safe. Close to everything. Breakfast is excellent. Choice room is cozy and warm. Very quiet excellent staff.
Never have to guess at the quality you receive when checking into Best Western. Rest assured you'll be sleeping at a hotel that sets themselves apart from others. Everything from checking in, cleanliness and hot breakfast sets your mind at ease to truly enjoy your stay and be at peace while you're away from home.
Location out of the way for the places we wanted to go to. For safety we used Lyft and it was a bit pricey because the location was in a weird spot in Surprise, but the stay overall was nice. Breakfast was convenient, too.
The Best Westerns that we have stayed at have been clean and pet friendly. The breakfasts are good with lots of variety. The rooms are getting better and better as they are renovate their pet friendly rooms.
Very clean, good breakfast. Young man working front desk in the mornings provided great customer service. The location is great. Close to Target and a few other stores. There are also a couple of restaurants close by. All in all this hotel is situated in a great location in the West Valley.
I had a great stay! Location was perfect, room was clean and comfortable. I will stay here when I visit again! Staff was friendly and accommodating. Parking felt safe. Never felt unsafe. I had a beautiful sunrise view of the mountains every morning. I could not ask for more.
The rooms are clean and good sized. There's not a lot of places to walk or exercise your dogs however as its mostly rocks and parking lots. There was some kind of construction going on when we stayed as the back area was all construction storage.
Overall, it was a great stay. Management chose to turn off water btw 7 AM and 12 PM for repairs on the 3rd floor. Not a good plan. Also, bathroom needed better cleaning, hair in tub, gunk in sink plug, floor corners gross.
I'm pretty picky, and this was a good one for a quick overnight trip. Clean. Friendly staff. Good breakfast options. Easy parking. Comfortable bed. They even gave us a small welcome back with a few snacks and water.
We stayed in a BW in Surprise about 10 years ago, this was not the same one. This was a superior motel to the other. This was clean, the staff were great and the room was just what we expected from BW. This was a very good location for us, east access and egress. Would love to stay here again.
I don't like staying away from home but BW was a good choice. The staff was very pleasant and helpful and accommodating to make our stay the best THANKS TO YOU ALL. Will use you again if ever necessary
The Rooms were very nice. The staff was great and the breakfasts were great. Different hot food everyday that actually tasted good, not fake eggs, etc. We will for sure stay there again. We thought it might be loud but wasn't at all.
The hotel staff if friendly and accommodating. Location to restaurants and stores is good. Hotel prices these days are rediculous, but was priced similar to properties near by. Breakfast in the am was great, they have waffles! We would stay here again if we ever came back to Surprise, AZ.
This hotel always exceeds expectations. From the checkin to the checkout, the staff are helpful and food good. But most important is the clean comfortable rooms. The location couldn't be better, stores of all kind and easy access to the 303.
Best Western Plus Surprise Phoenix NW hotel was very clean and looks brand new. I was able to charge my EV. There are a lot of shops and restaurants which made it easy for us to have business meetings and felt secure.
This was my second time staying at this property. This experience was better than the first. It is well maintained and easy to navigate. The staff were polite and respectful. The room was clean and well appointed. The wifi worked well. The breakfast was great. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would return without hesitation.
This property has it all. As a traveler, I look for Clean, Easy, Comfy and professional. I can count on these things at this property. Something for everyone at breakfast too. A place to stay and I will be back.
My dad was in the hospital in Surprise,Arizona and I had to stay in a hotel overnight and the best Western was very clean had a good breakfast the staff was very pleasant and I would stay there again and again
This was a nice spot for a quick staycation for my kids and I. They enjoyed the stay and swimming in the pool and hot tub. The breakfast offerings were decent. They had chocolate and original waffles to make, which the kids loved with whipped cream.
This hotel is very clean, the staff are all nice and helpful and it's convenient to shopping and restaurants. It's a great location, this is our 2nd stay here and we'll stay again when we return. Overall we'll give it a 99% satisfaction rating!
Stayed one night in a really nice room with a livingroom space and kitchenette area. Enjoyed using the pool and hot tub. Staff was friendly and everything was clean. Had the option for a continental breakfast but missed it due to sleeping well in the bed provided. Very nice stay and plan to do it again! Thank you!
2nd stay in 8 months only with small dog. It was a pleasant overnight stay. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Complimentary breakfast was good. Many options with special care taken to individually wrap breads items for sanitary reasons. Rooms were very clean and internet was great.
I was surprised with the great customer service that we received at this hotel, something you dont get to experience that often. We'll difenetly stay there again and me and my family highly recommend it.
We stayed in room 202, which is a 1 bedroom suite. The rooms appeared to be clean and tidy, but when we opened the door and walked in we were immediately smacked in the face by the overwhelmingly strong smell of urine. It wasn't pet urine. It smelled very strongly of fresh human pee. It was like they peed all over the room, or maybe even into the air conditioner vent. It is absolutely HORRENDOUS. The hallways, hotel lobby, dining area, etc all smell completely normal and look to be clean. But the fact that they put us in this room knowing about this disgusting pee smell (there's no way the cleaning staff doesn't know, unless they have no sense of smell) just burns me. I will be avoiding all Best Westerns in the future because of this horrific experience. This room should NOT be used by a customer until the source of the urine smell is found, removed, and replaced. I would suggest that the hotel use a ozone machine after the source is found and removed to ensure the odor is completely gone. There is no amount of money that Best Western could pay me to ever stay here again. So disgusting. I think they should change their name to Best West-urine If you doubt my experience, please feel free to rent room 202 to see (or smell) for yourself. Be prepared to take a shower in Clorox after you leave though...
The hotel itself is decent, but it's located at the end of a large shopping center -- which is convenient if you need supplies, but was a bit loud early in the morning. Our room was right across from the garden center of a Lowe's home improvement store. My bed was not as comfortable as the ones in other Best Westerns I stayed at and the AC was really loud, but at least it worked well. Seemed a bit understaffed, as I tried to call before check in and nobody answered. After check in, I tried to get more toiletries from the front desk, but nobody was there (I even rang the bell). Housekeeping not as great as at other locations (half-used lotion and conditioner bottles instead of brand new ones, and tissue box ran out after I used a few sheets). I really appreciated the cleanliness of the breakfast though -- most fresh food items were individually wrapped in plastic wrap (muffins, bread, apples, etc.) I would stay here again if I can't find a good hotel at a better location.
We needed a pet friendly room while moving to the Phoenix area. They were friendly and welcoming. We were put on the 1st floor for easy outside access. The General Manager was wonderful and offered help anytime she saw me!
We were warmly greeted and welcomed upon arrival. Room was not particularly spacious but very nice and clean. We had two queen beds both very comfy. Had refrigerator/microwave/coffee service set up. Fresh coffee available in the lobby 24/7. Full breakfast with sausage, eggs, waffles, pastries, fresh fruit, yogurt, etc. Really above and beyond for these days. Every single staff person we came across thanked us for being there, was super friendly and helpful. Management at this location must be doing something right to have so many great employees. Pool was nice and clean as was the hot tub. Highly recommend. Well worth the money.
After one night at another hotel in Surprise, we moved to this Best Western Plus. I'll make this very simple. When we come back to visit family and friends, this is where we will stay. Not only a great room, but the staff All seem happy that we were there. Not easy to find that feeling these days. Stay here on your next visit to Surprise and you'll see what I'm talking about!
This hotel has the nicest personnel. It's clean and comfy. The pool was heated perfectly. Having a waffle for breakfast is always a bonus! I so enjoyed that hot coffee was always available in the kitchen area. I would stay at this location again.
Stayed here while visiting family. Expected more for the money. Breakfast was crowded, not COVID friendly at all. Room was adequate, but not particularly clean. Not what we were used to in BW plus. Probably would not stay here again.
I asked why my room had not been cleaned and why my supplies had not been refilled. I was handed a flyer which noted that due to COVID the room would only be cleaned once per 5 days. Ok, so be it, apparently there is no staff to clean as we in this country have come to expect, but I wonder, did the hotel lower the daily rate, after all there are not paying staff at prior levels? I do not think so, I paid more than $600 for 2 terrible days. By the way, even if the room is not cleaned, do guests no longer receive towels, toilet paper, shampoo, or should I have brought my own? Stand by for Yelp review.
I booked online for this hotel to be close to Surprise Stadium for some college baseball. The second day there I was in a car accident so my trip had a few extra challenges. I'd booked for 4 days originally. After explaining my predicament, the staff rebooked some extra days until my travel details were set. This hotel was very good, had great sleeps but the staff were absolutely wonderful. I will stay there again for sure!
This was a really nice BW. We were on the road/entrance side but it really was no big deal. Slept like a baby... Loved that the toilet and sink were in the same room. When the sink is in the hall, it usually means that the bathroom is not very big.
This hotel room was pretty dirty. My comforter had a blood stain. The coffee pot was dirty inside. Someone else's hair on the hand towel. I called the front desk service times, but always busy. I went downstairs and there were two ladies at the desk and no one was on the phone, maybe they set it to busy? I told them about the blood stain and all she did was hand me a clean one (and less comfortable) and told me to put the dirty one in the hallway.
The staff were outstanding, cheerful, and helpful. The rooms were large and comfortable. Very close to a number of restaurants, all within walking distance. Easy on and off main streets and close to freeway on and off. Low noise, good security for the cars.
We arrived late and the staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel decor and look was modern and slick. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was warm with a hot cup of coffee and pastries.
Crystal at the front desk is amazing, so efficient and helpful. The hotel is in a great area and very clean and safe. I would stay there anytime I plan on being in the area. Very quiet, parking is great
The room was perfect for my husband & I. We also had our pet guinea pig, Pedal with us and she was welcomed and free of charge. We really appreciated that we were not charged extra for Pedal. There was a slight problem with our room, and the front desk clerk fixed it immediately.
We have stay in the hotel 2 other times and we had no issues at all... so that why we stayed a 3rd time this year there. This time we had 2 rooms. The hotel desk staff was great friendly and responsive, our only issue was with the maid staff. There was a brownish stain on the comforter on one bed and some stains on the sheets of the other bed. We notified the front desk staff and the maid did change the sheet on one bed but the other the comforter was just filliped over and spun around to move the stain to the bottom of the bed. We notified the front desk staff that this was done and they were shocked but did call the maid staff while I was there and did offer some discount for our stay.
My husband and I were moving our household goods from Surprise, AZ. We stayed here due to the convenient location and our satisfaction with Best Western accommodations. They surpassed our expectations and requirements.
For myself, when going on a vacation, I want good value for my money. When the 2nd shift front desk doesn't want anyone checking in 30 minutes early or sends you to a room that hasn't been cleaned, then sends you to another room that the card key doesn't work (twice), and has an attitude, Not a good way to start a weeks long stay. Never mind getting settled in and finally stretching out to have another guest open the door to your room, surprise !!! Then had to go get card key AGAIN I had to empty my own waste basket, ask for more soap, towels, coffee, shampoo & toilet paper. We felt bad for the breakfast staff, they didn't have a good stock of items, (plates, plasticware & creamer) but sure kept a good attitude. On a lighter note (I think it was) the manager was polite. Maybe I just need to lower my expectations or buy a motorhome and stay at the KOA
The hotel was clean and comfortable, the breakfast was great with many different eating options. The location is what we need for our trips. I have already booked our next trip in November! The pool is clean. The lobby very clean as well.
My family and I enjoyed are stay and under the stressful circumstances of our stay the staff especially Monique were extremely nice. The entire place was nice and clean. They served breakfast everyday and always kept on top of cleaning up after guests would leave.
Of course covid has made for limited maid service at most hotels. But our room smelled like a football team had lived in it the week before. Perhaps this is b/c wet towels accumulated, or some other issue that could have been corrected with regular maid service.
This Best Western understood when we arrived early and were very tired, they checked us in early as quickly as possible. The hotel accepts pets and has a pet relief area with doggie bags and trash can for your use( not everyone used it however). The pet fee is reasonable, compared to many we were charged on our month long trip. I would recommend this Best Western to all.
No towels,no coffee,no service! This place is a joke. I called for a refund and received some gift cards that I am still waiting for. A guest should not be made to wait until midnight for the towels to come out of the hotels dryer, and then fetch them from the front desk. No coffee pods for the in room coffee maker, and the urns in the main dining area did not serve hot coffee. Not worth the money!
Large rooms, decor ok. Someone cared about the hotel once. The lobby restroom had no soap no towels in the men's, the women's had an old dried out bar of soap. That was just the beginning, all the floors were dirty. We got to our room the covers were just sort of placed on the verge of acceptable. We debated not staying, but the room was pretty much ok. Although, when we looked at the dirty a/c filters, we almost checked out. But every time we went into the public areas we just shook our heads. Filthy filthy filthy. There was an included breakfast that we didn't go near. If the floors were an indication of their concern for cleanliness, we didn't want to risk that non-level of cleanliness in the food service. What a waste of a potentially good hotel.
I have to preface this review with I really don't ever write reviews. I checked in online the day before for a 4 PM to 5 PM check-in time. We arrived at 6 PM only to find that the room had not been cleaned and was not ready. We left for an additional three hours to give them time. When we returned The room was still not ready. There were many others in the lobby just arriving after a late drive who probably didn't get a room that night. We waited another half an hour before we finally got keys to our room. There was apparently no manager on duty so no comp for the inconvenience was offered. Those problems were just the tip of the iceberg. My first mistake at this price point was to think the free breakfast perk tipped the scales in deciding to stay at this location. Boy was I wrong. The first breakfast sandwich I picked up had hair in it. The second one I only had half of before having to take a $hit. One other friend I traveled with also had half of his before having stomach issues. I had to bring up the late check and issue again at check out. I feel like some kind of note should have been made. Some kind of comp for the inconvenience acknowledged.l by the staff. Nada. I was told to take a card and call back on Monday. Won't waste my time here again.
It was my first time staying at a Best Western and I was pleasantly surprised how nice the room was. It was spacious, clean and well maintained.Very friendly staff and helpful. Great location close to shops.
Arrived at 5:30 PM was told by women at desk we had to wait for a room to be cleaned because they only had one maid. She put my name and number on a long list and said she would call me when ready. One hour later while waiting in the parking lot the check-in women gets into the car next to us. I ask her if my room is ready to which she replied, I don't know I just left. I found out later that she had quit as did most of the cleaning staff earlier. We walked back into the hotel lobby to see a long line waiting to check in. Most of them had tried to check in earlier and were told the same as me. Patrick at the check-in desk was doing his best to get people checked in. One hour later we were given a room that was dirty. Went back down to desk and was assigned a clean room. Noise, noise, noise!! Train horns, motorcycles, loud vehicles, people talking in other rooms, tv's. The bed was a rock. I didn't sleep at all and will never stay here again. I did get a discount on the extremely high rate that I was going to have to pay which was very nice. Oh and the coffee pot resevoir was filthly. Got out of there as fast as I could.
I was highly impressed with the cleanliness of this hotel. I felt very comfortable sitting on the bed and walking around with just socks on (they didn't turn black!). It's getting rare to find a place like that. The staff was very friendly, and breakfast was good. I didn't try the pool or the fitness center. I place my finger on why but even though I know it was recently rebranded, it still felt out of date. My only issues were that the wifi made my phone lag and service was actually better with the wifi turned off, and the whole time I was there kids were screaming and running up and down the halls, not the hotels fault, but it did detract from being able to sleep. I would stay here again!
After a very small hiccup on my first stay, and I mean small- I was invited to return for a "redo", something I was not expecting. Check in was easy and fast, and the attendant was chatty and complimented my Captain America shirt ... Which was a nice change because everyone always points out and compliments my husband muscles. Lol. Upon arriving into the room, I noticed water, snacks and a note that I truly appreciate. I have never in my life was met with such an apology, and I travel quite a bit. Rachel, who I believe is the GM, was so kind via email. I live nearby, so when I just need to get out of the house, I prefer to stay nearby just in case there is an emergency. The bed was comfortable, the pool was the perfect temperature and breakfast was great. There were lots of options, even though they didn't have to offer anything at all, and I appreciate it. The breakfast sandwiches were the best, as well as the danishes were my favorite. I will definitely be returning!
My house is being renovated, So when it was time to remove the old tiles and install new, it was impossible to stay in my house. Best Western is near my house. It is clean, offers adequate amenities, staff is friendly and performance oriented. Yuckky situation for me, Best Western made it good.
Although the motel had signs posted requiring masks only the night manager was wearing one. The front desk and custodial staff did not have masks one and the manager was present but did not enforce the rules. The breakfast included dry cereal but no milk.
Check in clerk seemed really irritated to even have guests. Not even so much as a Hello. Rooms were clean. Hotel was noisy. Pool was ok but the hot tub was ice cold. Can't really think of a reason I would ever return to this hotel. It was ok for a quick one night stay.
We stayed here for just 1 night. Nothing major was wrong but some aspects our experience reminded us we get what we pay for. Room was spacious, but a little noisy of an area. Plenty of stores and restaurants right nearby. COVID breakfast option was more than we thought but the quality of some of the food was a little poor.
My expectations were high after staying at the Prescott BW location and having a great experience. Was not overly impressed with the Surprise location. I wouldn't want to stay here for an extended stay but would stay again if I needed a spot to just sleep and go for a night.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The room was very spacious for the price, the shower was very nice. We got what i believe is called a king suite, with a sofa/sofabed included with a king bed. The room was in great shape. They were meeting safety protocols for covid 19. The people we encountered at the desk were very friendly and helpful. There is an elevator for the upper floors. We took advantage of the pool and spa, which were nice, though not all the spa jets were working, the water was nice and warm. It is conveniently located near many restaurants and shopping. There was a refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave in the room. Breakfast was limited to wrapped to go items because of covid, but it was fine, I enjoyed my cheese danish and yogurt. I would recommend this for a stay in Surprise, and will likely return again when we visit our family there next time.
Most staff I encountered were not wearing masks despite county order and hotel policy. The check in process is old school passing credit card, drivers license, pen and paper around a small plexiglass partition. Hairs on bed, noisy refrigerator, lack of proper protection for guests and staff. Air conditioner was off when I went into the room. It was 117 outside and the room was hot. While I was out, someone came into the room and sprayed some sort of chemical which permeated my belongings leaving a horrible chemical smell. Based on the lack of use of masks by staff and the hairs on the bed, I question the cleanliness and safety of this hotel while AZ is a hotspot for COVID-19. Very disappointed.
Fantastic room for a economical price, check in was quick and efficient...so smooth in fact I made a point of remembering the wonderful lady that did the paperwork for My check in , she made me feel right at home. In fact due to her outstanding hospitality I made a point of Remembering her name ...”ANNIE”.so the next time you visit Phoenix stay at Best Western they only hire the best Personnel, high quality service with a smile!!!
With a 2:00 am wake up in Nashville Tennessee and an early flight to southern California; only to pick up our car before the drive to Phoenix Az we were on the road for 5 hours when we decided to make arrangements for a hotel for the night. Traveling the past 5 months we have chosen Best Western Plus as our preferred hotels so we looked at hotel locations near Phoenix and decided to call the Best Western in Surprise Az. When we called to front desk we were still about 2 hours out and did not have access to our Best Western membership number; Anne took the call and looked up our information to ensure best rates were applied. It was a real pleasure talking to Anne; she was very professional, polite and patient. When we arrived at the hotel we were greeted by Anne, I expressed my appreciation for the pleasurable experience at time of making reservations and even though I had not yet provided any form of identification she knew my name and greeted as such. Best Western should be proud to have people such as Anne representing them. As a devoted Best Western customer; we truly felt that Anne provided superior support and Exhibited an environment that support premier customer service; it was a great pleasure to have such a person like Anne to be at the other end of the phone and to have been greeted by her after a long day of travel.
We stayed here for the first half of our spring training vacation in Arizona. We wanted to split time between Surprise and the Phoenix/Mesa area. We decided to pick this property because of their lower rates compared to the surrounding hotel. It was not a bad hotel, but the original room we received was not clean. The front desk assigned us a room that was not ready upon check-in. Other than that the hotel served our needs. My husband wanted to be near where the Royals practiced and this was perfect. The stadium was less than 3 miles away.
Due to construction, there was no working business center computer and no room in which to eat breakfast. Breakfast items were on tables in a hallway by the elevator. People could take food back to their rooms or eat in a conference room. Think the hotel should have told people about this before they booked. WiFi was very slow. Location is fine, and the front desk people were nice.
Thought this would be a good choice to be a good distance while moving between 2 homes; WRONG! The smell from the cleaning chemicals is HORRIBLE and choking, and probably quite hazardous to one's well-being; I know I been wheezing. The cover to the A/C & heating unit was broke, phone didn't work, and then there was a horrible noise coming from wall, which we discovered was coming from the electrical room next door. Also, the pool and spa were not working as was the computer station as seen just all jumbled up in corner. Today, they started remodeling of breakfast room, so it was shortened and spread out in the corner by elevator in hallway, and you had to sit in the conference room which only had 2 long tables each with 4 chairs, hardly enough space for guests to eat and relax. After 3 full days, the cleaning smell is still present, but not as prominent since we've been running the A/C constantly switching back and forth to heat. They should have posted on website about planned remodeling as well as non-working pool and spa! In other words, DON'T STAY HERE!!!!
The comp breakfast was same ol' same ol' but the room exceeded expectations. Nice linens, nice tissue, comfortable bed and pillows, and the wi-fi worked the way it is supposed to. The property is clean and maintained. Couldn't ask for more, except a lower price, but hey, it's spring training.
We experienced no problem during our stay except the wi-fi was slow in our room. Large, quiet room. Breakfast was the normal Choice hotels breakfast which was expected. Remodeling is in progress and appears to be nearly complete. We would stay at this hotel again.
