Best Western Plus Aston Hall Hotel

We attended a wedding in April. The service through the day was up there with the best we have experienced. Nothing was too much trouble. The hotel itself is beautiful and the rooms were lovely. Breakfast was 10/10 as was all food during the wedding! Best wedding meal I've ever had!

I attended a wedding at the hotel in April and it was fabulous. The food and hospitality staff were outstanding. We included an overnight stay and the staff, the rooms and breakfast were excellent. A lovely hotel very welcoming and a real treat. Thank you I enjoyed every minute!

Last month I celebrated my birthday with a private lunch in Vanquish. From the time that I booked, the arrangements could not have been made easier. On the day, the organisation was brilliant. The staff were all kind, helpful and efficient. The food was excellent and the day felt very special. Recently I returned for a lunch with friends in the restaurant and received the same caring attention. Many thanks.

My sister and I attended the Northern Soul night on the 16/03/2024. We went to remember our mother who recently died. Our mother chose Aston Hall to have her last Christmas lunch with her family and attended the New Year's Eve Gala Dinner, whilst there she asked if she could have her wake there after her death. Our mother was young at heart and Aston Hall made our mother's last few months of her life memorable, which she was very thankful for. She loved Northern Soul and arranged for both her daughter's to enjoy the Northern Soul night on 16/03/2024 and asked us to raise a glass to her memory. Aston Hall went above and beyond what was expected, the staff showed respect, empathy and professionalism when dealing with our lovely mum. She was the life and soul of the party. I'd like to take this opportunity to say a very big thank you to all the staff at Aston Hall who have now become part of our family. We were lucky to have Aston Hall who made our mum's life the best she could have lived. We will always use Aston Hall for our family's celebrations, they can honestly be trusted with some rather large asks made of them on behalf of our mother. We will never forget all the hard work the staff gave to make the most happy memories our family could have ever had. Thank you Aston Hall . I recommend Aston Hall to everyone no matter what they are celebrating happy or sad, you can trust them.

We have been visiting very regularly for over a year due visiting family. We have always found all the staff extremely professional, very friendly and go out of their way to make us feel welcome. The food is very good, with choices at both breakfast and dinner.

St David's Day and we've spent a lovely afternoon at Aston Hall in Sheffield whilst tucking into a delicious afternoon tea, there was six of us ladies and nothing was to much trouble for the staff there, everything was presented perfectly on a crisp white tablecloth, all the food was delicious, we all took something home because we simply couldn't eat it all, thankyou to all the staff, and we will definitely be back !!

We had afternoon tea at the hotel and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was delicious, fresh and plenty of it. The hotel is beautiful and a pleasure to visit and the service was excellent. We would highly recommend the afternoon tea and will definitely return.

If you wanted breakfast it had to be served in your room because there wasn't enough people in hotel to bother opening dining room so we just decided to go elsewhere. The meal at night was awful looked and tasted burnt.. rooms not made up or replenished during our stay just towels on a poly bag hung on the door . Bar staff were nice though

Everything was great from the friendly check in to the food and service in the bar. There was local beer and the food was amazing. Room was immaculate, bathroom facilities were very good. drinks prices a little high but that seems to be everywhere you go these days!

Great hotel, rooms and staff -but. Situated just off the M1, great location. Our room was fabulous. The staff were professional and suitably friendly, creating an expectation of good things from the kitchen. The food was expensive, poorly cooked, the steak was overcooked and chewy, ugh, the chips were flaccid and wet, overall disappointing, placing front of house staff with a huge cross to carry. Not good.

Great location in an old country house built in 1772, with more modern extensions. Room was pretty large and the wetroom was huge. The bed looked like a double but had two mattresses, which was not really ideal. Heating was good and the room was comfortable throughout our stay. Disappointed that the gym was no more (and the website still listed it as present). The lovely grounds (55 acres!) make you think that you are miles from anywhere. The neighbouring church building was not open when we visited. Full English breakfast was good. The hotel seems to be doing well, with a reasonable trade in business conferences, with plenty of meeting rooms. Lovely reception inside the front door with a blazing log fire - very welcoming. Some strange design "features" in our room (304?): tall bedside lamps with switches on the top - why not on the base?; toilet roll holder behind you when sitting down - so we kept the roll next to the wash basin for easy access; then the light switches - the furthest on the wall outside the bathroom was for the bathroom. Great location for exploring the Peak District, with easy access from the motorway.

The radiator didn't work leaving us cold with a little one. The staff attempted to fix the issue however we're unsuccessful. We managed to use the heating on the AC unit however wasn't powerful enough to heat the whole room

Aston hall hotel hosted our 30th wedding celebration with a meal for 30 guests. The service from the helpful staff was excellent, the food was delicious. We were able to show a slideshow through the projector, and play our playlist through their audio speakers. Altogether a great event in a lovely venue

The service was great and the staff were friendly and attentive. The 3 course evening meal was fabulous as was the breakfast. The room was wonderful and the bed was extremely comfortable. The grounds were stunning. This is a great place for a large party such as a wedding

We had our company's 10 year in business black tie ball here and it was perfect. Starting from meeting Hannah in events in February to plan the night. Hannah was amazing helping me and guiding me im what was best for the night to helping make last minute changes. Seeing the room all set up was just gorgeous. Simon who looked after our event on the evening was so attentive and helped everything run smoothly along with all the serving and bar staff who were brilliant and worked so hard. The chef and kitchen staff...chef adapted our menu to what we wanted and the food at Aston Hall especially as its mass catering is absolutely delicious. So tasty and plenty of it. Top quality and I am a food snob. A lot of us stayed over and the rooms are big and comfortable and breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Thank you Aston Hall for making our event such an amazing venue

The hotel was OK. The rooms were clean, the bed was very comfortable and the restaurant was good. However, I fell in the wet room and hurt myself. The floor is smooth tiles, there was no rubber mat, no ridges. Obviously I was barefoot and the floor was wet. I slipped over and sprained my knee. I am just very grateful I didn't crack my head on the sink unit or the floor, as it could have been fatal. All floors should be replaced with ridged tiles / rubber flooring.

Visited this lovely traditional hotel today to view their wedding event. What an outstanding effort they had made with rooms set out superbly in different themes giving a great insight into what your 'special day' could look like. Supported by the wedding planner and a photographer this is certainly a top quality venue to consider for your complete wedding day, particularly when you read the very positive reviews posted by previous couples. A great place for a maximum impact and lasting memories.... Also looking forward to the wreath making event on 8th October...

We stayed for a two night break and the room was spotless, stylishly decorated and the bathroom was chic, the towel rail heater was broken, but as it wasn't too cold it wasn't a problem and we did report it. Dinner in the restaurant was lovely and the service was great. The breakfast had a good selection of continental foods and juices,but the full English was very disappointing, gf sat under the lights far too long and was so overcooked,I had to send it back. The replacement wasn't that much better, and the next day the breakfast was better but there is much room for improvement with the full English! Having said that,everything else was lovely and we loved the hotel and would definitely stay again.

poor meals, in need of disabled rails in wetroom, expensive bar prices, lift furthest away from reception as possible,othewise it was ok but will not return ithink thats everything that needs to be said

I had my wedding at Aston and where do I even start! I stayed in the bellies the night before with my bridesmaids, the room is gorgeous! We did have no hot water, but reception answered straight away and did all they could to correct it. We had to wait till the morning for Maintenance to come but they gave me another room key so I could get a shower, and moved me ( litterally all staff moved my things while I got married) to Tang, which is another amazing gorgeous room!. The next morning we went for breakfast, I had eggs Benedict which was amazing!! Then is when it got stressful! My hair stylist didn't turn up l! But the hotel staff when above and beyond to help! Claire was on the phone trying to track down stylists, and Hannah one the staff members came to help curl the little ones hair. Honestly I can not express how amazing the staff are, there attention to detail just makes everything so easy and makes you feel so special! Thank you so much for everything you did for us!

We had my daughter's wedding reception here 8th August 2023. Everything was perfect. Beautiful venue and gardens. Bedrooms are clean and gorgeous. All the staff are amazing and so helpful. Angela was great on the lead up to the wedding and always happy to answer any questions. Simon the hotel manager was with us through out the entire day constantly keeping everything running smooth and always checking if we needed anything or any help. The evening was handed over to Josh who again was brilliant and kept everything running smooth even when we caused delays. The food was outstanding every step of the way from the wedding day right through to breakfast the next morning. So many of our guests thanked and commented afterwards all saying how delicious everything was. Thank you Aston hall, you deserve so much more than 5 stars. Perfect venue that gave my daughter her dream wedding day. To anyone considering Aston hall we recommend them 100%

My son and daughter in law held their wedding here on Saturday 19th August 2023. The whole day was amazing and the professionalism of the whole team made the day go without any hitches. Staff were friendly and courteous. The food was first class and the experience was first class. The rooms were clean and the beds so comfortable. Breakfast the next morning was freshly cooked and service and choice was fab. Altogether a very enjoyable experience. Thank you Aston Hall

We stoppedovernight on our way from France to Scotland. As with previous visits we found our stay to be excellent. Superbly spacious room at a reasonable price. Bar food was very good. Service in all parts of the hotel was also very good and staff were very accommodating. And an excellent choice for breakfast to send us on our way north. This is one of outfavourite stopovers in whole of Europe.

Best western offers better value, better comfort and better food than all other well known supposedly cheap hotels. The staff work very hard to make the guests feel relaxed and welcome. Won't be going back to hotels mentioned earlier in this review.

We had our wedding day here in August and it was the best day ever! The staff couldn't have done more, from the day we booked, all the way to the morning after. The food was beautiful at each point of the stay, the rooms were perfect , and every member of staff wore a smile. Nothing was ever too much. Thankyou for giving us a perfect day!

Lovely quiet room in 'the west wing'. We had a twin room with two 3/4 size beds which were extremely comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice of continental and cooked options. Staff were all lovely and couldn't do enough for us.

A great hotel in a great location with stunning grounds. Very friendly and helpful staff. A lovely bedroom and bathroom. A few thoughts - our room in the old building did not have opening windows or aircon. There was a fan but no fresh air. As a result there was a large amount of condensation. - I would not stay there again on a Saturday or Sunday evening in summer. On both days there were weddings. As a result there was loud music late into the evening followed by noisy guests going back to their rooms.

Great staff, who were also very helpful when my mum wasnt feeling very well. Setting is lovely, air con, beds very comfy and the twins were really small doubles, and I slept well. Food was really good, a really nice suprise! Best chips I've ever had and wow...the Brownie and mint ice cream was a gourmet version. Mostly, I would like to say all the staff were exceptionally professional and friendly from arrival to departure. Well done team and we will stay again.

I went to Aston Hall for afternoon tea with friends and family it was absolutely perfect! lovely staff lovely food and the service was great! The setting was great too, it was a special offer so we didn't pay the full rate but was still value for money at the full rate Definitely going to be back x

Great hotel, very nice rooms especially with the air con available as it was a warm stay., very polite and attentive staff. Breakfast was great, excellent choice options from hot to cold. Definitely be back for return visit.

Perfect location for our visit to family in nearby Wickersley, we stayed four nights in January 2023, three in February and are booked for a three night return also in February. Great car park. Same Superior Double room each time. Room was indeed superior with large space, an incredibly comfortable super king bed, massive windows with wonderful views, ample wardrobe space and a great en-suite. This was an extremely pleasant room. Staff were friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and efficient. Difficult to fault! The only negative we have is the 10 am breakfast cut-off time. If you miss that as we did several times, you're in trouble. That aside, we're looking forward to our return.

Location is peaceful and beautiful. The rooms are very clean and staff are excellent, nothing is too much trouble. The facilities are great and I keep using this hotel for events and conferences. The food (including breakfast) is all cooked fresh and is good value for money

32 people at our annual club dinner, we had a great time. Location very good near to motorway. Communication and hospitality of the staff was very good, food was great value for money, facilities were good and the bedrooms were clean and comfortable. Very please overall with the venue.

Room ok and clean and quiet, Food good however let down by wait, appears to be understaffed, Starters and Mains arrived together apparently due to the Kitchen being busy so they decided to send at same time, Not sure how that works or how that should happen. No idea what Breakfast was like as after a 45 minute wait after order placed for hot food and no communication about wait after ordering had to leave as staying on business Disappointed also on check out as not asked how the stay was . Bar staff friendly Time delays and meal issues will mean no return

We got married here on the 01/12/22, Aston Hall is a beautiful venue but what makes its special is the staff a big shout out to Angela our wedding co-ordinator who made sure everything went smoothly. From the flow of the day to staff running upstairs to get my veil and shrug when I had forgotten them. I just want to say thank you from MR & MRS Unwin you made our day one in a million.

We had sandwiches for lunch from the newly launched menu and omg they were fabulous! Generous fillings and well presented The chips OMG the chips were amazing! The main course menu sounded delicious with imaginative dishes on offer I will definitely be back to try them Service was good and attentive

We booked a meal for news years day lunch, it was AMAZING. I am lactose, onion and garlic intolerant so quite often my meals are bland but not this meal its the tastiest meal i have had in a long time and I cannot fault the level of service and attention to detail. Will be going again for MORE. Fantastic service well done to all staff at Aston Hall for making a us feel special instead of a pain

Lovely hotel. Very friendly helpful staff from booking over phone to checking out. Stayed in the Tempest suite in an amazing annex. Had a glass ceiling totally fab. Will return soon Stayed as part of a wedding, good food and nice selection for breakfast

We stay in the fiddle it was amazing the bedroom was cold and uncomfortable to sleep in however it was amazing experience great choice of food the breakfast was lovely and bar food was amazing too. Hotel is self? Hotel is lovely setting really clean public area and staff were polite unfortunately we went for breakfast there was 2 staff on Kyle who served us was friendly and offered us tea and coffee

We stayed in the “fiddle” it was extremely cold, and uncomfortable to sleep in. However the rest of the hotel was loverly, we were there for a wedding, somewhere I would highly recommend if you're planning a wedding. There are also close amenities to the hotel.

Had a really good night there. However the reason I am writing the review is because my car was damaged by another car whose owner left without giving anyone any details. It wasnt any fault of the hotel but the hotel and Kirsty was very helpful and polite and helped with trying to sort the situation out. Thank you.

We got married on 12/12/22, it was an amazing experience. I couldn't recommend Aston Hall enough! We were originally getting married at Aston in 2020 but with covid we decided to not go ahead, so instead we decided 7 months ago to go ahead again and book our wedding day, instantly Aston Hall was the top of our list! From the moment we walked into the building they made you feel extremely welcome, answered any questions we had, let us set up the day before as they had no other events on, added a few little bits for us in our ceremony room and they made it look gorgeous! It really was our dream wedding! The staff members are absolutely amazing! They were fun, easy going and it didn't feel like it was just a job to them, it's something they do with pride! The hotel is absolutely gorgeous, it's clean, warm and everything you could ever ask for! The food was amazing, none of our guests had a complaint what so ever! It was extremely magical and if I could do it all over again, I would and I wouldn't have changed a thing! Thank you Aston Hall for giving us the best experience, customer service and the most magical wedding day!

I booked a meal for 20 in the vanquish suite for a surprise 60th. A lovely member of staff was helpful over email with the booking and answered any questions that I had. The hotel is lovely and the vanquish suite was set out really nice. The waiting staff were good, especially the older gentleman who was most helpful. We had a lovely 3 course festive meal and really enjoyed a few hours there. We were able to connect to the speaker with our phones and play our own music. Would definitely recommend.

lovely hotel building, staff were great but the rooms and amenities felt dated and forgotten about. a lot of which could do with replacing. attended a works christmas party - with the family business. staff were over-run and id say understaffed. but they did their best! reception staff were great. breakfast staff were quiet but pleasant enough.

Hote is l in a lovely setting. Really clean public areas and the room was clean, spacious. Staff were polite and attentive. Food quality was excellent at dinner and at breakfast. Would definitely stay again. The rate for the hotel was excellent for the quality.

We just celebrated our wedding and it couldn't have been any better. The staff were amazing - especially Angela and Levi, along with the bar and catering team. Food was amazing! The rooms were large and spacious to get ready (we booked Horsin and Trow) and our wedding room (Tang) was lovely. The whole event was smoothly ran and the team so attentive to all our needs - worth every penny!!!

We've just spent 3 nights in this hotel and had a fantastic stay. The hotel is lovely- big room immaculately clean. The grounds are beautiful and staff lovely- helpful and pleasant. The breakfast is adequate with something for everyone and the food quality is very good. I have one slight niggle- following a wedding on the Saturday breakfast on Sunday was slightly off putting as the buffet had been moved to another room which meant several trips in and out with your food. And probably a personal point from me in that I do not like coffee from an urn. I understand that it is a wedding venue but perhaps set up for wedding guests together in a separate room? Leave other guests in the restaurant. This is the only negative I have. Otherwise, very impressed with everything and would definitely recommend and stay again.

Room was fine surroundings very nice staff very helpful. Thought the food in the Restuarant was a little "Pub Foodie" for such a high standard location! Facilities for the family wedding I attended first class.

The reception staff were friendly and helpful, which was just as well because the room was mediocre at best. A chair in the room had a broken leg, the loo had not been properly cleaned and was still stained at when we left after two nights. There were other problems, but the one that takes the ticket is that the chambermaid(s) could not bother to make the bed with correctly sized sheets and used two small sheets instead of one large sheet on the bottom. As a tired old git I neeeded to take a rest after attending a wedding party and found myself entangled in the two bottom sheets. Full marks to the receptionist who delivered a correct sheet and helped me put in on the bed; zero marks to the chamber maids and their supervisor. I won't be staying again.

We went for Afternoon Tea,food was fresh and delicious,value very good,table cloth would have been nice? Been to Aston Hall many times,consistently good. Wedding been held,so total madhouse,but staff still pleasant.

We were virtually ignored on arrival at breakfast even though the waitress was next to us! Us along with a number of other guests had to ask to be seated and then ignored again. We had to be asked to be served! Appalling customer service!

the hotel looks very nice from the outside, with an ample parking area, and the rooms are big, either if you stay in the west wing or in the old hotel (with rooms with names instead of numbers). however, the details make the difference. the room was cold and very complicated radiators to turn them on. the taps on the showers look outdated and they look like they are not fixed properly on the wall. the restaurant offers a decent menu, but the service it's very slow. The prices at the bar are quite high ...8£ a full glass of red...

We had a fabulous evening at the 1980s dinner/ dance. The three course meal was delicious and the service was excellent. The staff were very friendly and attentive to our needs. We will definitely be coming back to future events. The room we stayed in was lovely and spacious,with great views of the countryside. I would highly recommend a visit to Aston Hall Hotel.

We attended a charity ball. And stopped over, the room we had was excellent , breakfast in the morning was very good and a good choice. The food we had at the ball was good. I would stop at this hotel again.

Hotel was of satisfactory cleanliness, few hairs in the bath but nothing a run of the shower didn't fix. Drinks in the bar are extortionate (£9.70 for a pint of Carlsberg and single vodka). We stayed for a wedding at the venue and just chose not to bother drinking after the first round as it wasn't worth getting mildly tipsy for £100 considering we were there all day and night. However, staff were very friendly and approachable whilst maintaining professionalisn. Best part of our experience was out interactions with them.

What a lovely night we had! Very nice three course meal followed by 80th disco, great atmosphere, beautiful location, period property, friendly staff! Breakfast had an option to take it away, which was really handy. I would recommend it to anyone who want to have a great night with friends and family,

Hotel is conveniently located a few minutes drive from M1. Staff are friendly and knowlegable. Rooms are large and clean. Beds are very comfortable and had a great nights sleep without disturbance. Food in the restaurant is reasonably priced and excellent quality. The two members of staff who served us were efficient and friendly. There is a refreshing selection of food on the breafast menu which is cooked freshly. I had the vegetarian breakfast which was delicious! I really can't fault this hotel for a busineas stay. I will be back!!!

Wow, what can I say other than fabulous. We celebrated our wedding on Sunday 2nd October. The care and attention to detail throughout was exceptional. Nothing was any trouble for the team at Aston hall, a huge big thank you to Angela who coordinated the day, Kim in the evening & all the other staff from waiting staff to housekeeping. From the start we were consulted on everything and every detail was perfect. Our day couldn't have been made any more special. Bedrooms were perfect from the grooms, family rooms, honeymoon suite to the venue itself. Every one of our guests commented on how lovely the food was and the day overall. The room was large with air conditioning and comfortable. I was staying here as a business base. The wifi was virtually non existent. I couldn't even make a call unless I was almost hanging out of a window! The staff need trained in customer service, particularly those working in the restaurant/breakfast room. Food was expensive and not very good.

We had my daughter's First Holy Communion party here yesterday. I was delighted with the venue. The Virage Suite was stunning, and immaculate despite there being a huge party in there the night before. The staff were very accommodating- the guys who staffed the bar were great, and Kim who looked after our event on the day was wonderful. The food was great and plentiful- it was so refreshing to have somewhere over cater rather than provide too little! Thank you very much to everyone at Aston Hall.

This is a very pleasant hotel - my third visit there. I had a particularly nice room with a very comfortable bed and beautiful views. Walks in the grounds and beyond are a bonus. There are a few staffing issues (like everywhere else) but all the staff were pleasant and helpful throughout my stay.

Greeted warmly at 10 pm, Efficiently and professionally checked in with excellent customer service skills and knowledge of the establishment. Comfortable bed in a large room, well cleaned and with everything we needed for a good stop over. Breakfast was delicious too. Beautiful building with super team of staff.

After being stuck at the Eurotunnel in France for hours due to stupid politics and then had a harrowing drive through England we eventually arrived tired at the hotel. So it was great to be greeted warmly at reception and then went to out room. We were pleasantly surprised at how large a room we had. After unloading our cases and plugging car into the charging socket we made for the bar in desperate need of a drink. We couldn't face going to the restaurant but the staff were more than happy for us to eat in the bar. A good night's sleep followed by an excellent English breakfast and quick n easy checkout then onward to Scotland. The stay was so good we booked to stop there on our way back to France. And we will surely do so again.

Disabled access was difficult and it was easier for us to go outside to get to the main area of the hotel. Good job the weather was nice. The corridors were blocked for the wheelchair on our day of departure by several linen trolleys which made getting out very difficult. I hate to think how would've got out in an emergency. The pillows smelt musty (not the linen). Waiting staff in the breakfast room were not the quickest and we felt ignored to be honest. Breakfast was expensive for what you got and not particularly impressive. Travelodge's breakfast is cheaper and better! Reception staff were very helpful. Lovely grounds around the hotel. Beds comfortable and good sized rooms and ensuite. Music from a wedding reception could be heard in our room which kept us awake and we overslept as a result. A bit more sound insulation in the function room would be better.

I was booked to photograph a wedding at the hotel and as it is three hours from home the couple very kindly also booked a room for my partner and myself. On arrival at the hotel, there was plenty of parking and the staff seemed friendly and courteous. One initial off-putting thing was the smell in the main mens bathrooms, as soon as you walked in the smell of sewage was very strong and very off-putting. The wedding venue itself was a new separate building which was very nice, and clean, the only issue was the seating in the bar and the patio. All the stools were very very high and not very comfortable so many of the older guests struggled and chairs had to be removed from the ceremony and reception room to allow them to sit down, in addition, the lifts in the building were not easy to find or well positioned making it hard for the older guests to use, we even had to use the stairs to get all our equipment to our room and back the next day which was hard work. The wedding breakfast was excellent as was the breakfast service. In conclusion a nice hotel with lovely grounds, however, I would not recommend it for the disabled or elderly.

I have to admit. I am a bit sceptical of Best Western Hotels normally after visiting many that are tired and run down. The Aston Hall Hotel doesn't have this problem. In fact, it is a great hotel. I can see why it is so popular for weddings. So the good bits first - the grounds are lovely with a driveway up to the hotel that makes it feel a bit special. The small reception provides a big welcome. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was in a separate building but was of a good quality and the bed was comfortable - much better than the hotel I stayed in the night before. I am going to return to Aston Hall at the end of the month and I have upgraded the room so it will be interesting to see what others are like. On this evidence it is great. Breakfast is good - especially the fresh fruit. Not much choice so don't come expecting avocado on toast, eggs Benedict etc. You have Full English or veggie but this is not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, especially if it maintains quality and they are happy to adapt what is on the plate. The kitchen also knows how to poach an egg which is a increasing rarity it seems these days. Not so great? You know, my trip advisor reviews are as objective as possible but I really cannot come up with anything. Which is a pity. Oh ! Actually I have something - no roasted peanuts at the bar! If that puts you off then the staff likely deserve better anyway. So, summary, great hotel, great staff, great breakfast, perfect wedding venue and all at a reasonable cost.

Great Hotel, staff and amenities were fantastic during our stay. The food that was specially prepared for myself as I'm a vegan was lovely. The beds are like marshmallows! Very Very Soft and you sing low into them, even falling into the middle of the bed. One thing I'll warn anyone staying here, is that upon arrival we were told that we had to pay a £50 holding fee on the room on check in alongside the £150 for the room for the night and early check in. This was a new policy introduced two days before our arrival, there was no communication via e-mail or phone to let us know about this new policy prior to our arrival which is very poor. Overall the Hotel and Grounds were really clean and tidy, one thing I will say is if your over 6 foot in height the toilet in the hotel room is designed for people who are just over 4 foot in height., Being very low to the ground.

A gem of a hotel that offers so much. Set in a lovely location and grounds. Lots of character and beautifully presented. Spacious bedroom. Great night's sleep. Lovely en-suite bathroom. Food was delicious and the staff were so lovely and welcoming. Highly recommend a visit.

Stayed here for 4 nights, first time on the property, very impressive, old renovated historic hall converted to a hotel. Impressive grounds and building with a great selection of rooms depending on what you're looking for. Didn't pick my room particularly but it was massive with a huge bathroom. Second floor with no elevator but not a problem for me, the room was worth the walk. They have a restaurant on site and the food was really good. The staff were really friendly and helpful, I really enjoyed sitting out under the trees in the evenings in the extensive garden. This location is in a very pretty village and only a mile off the motorway if you're not confident navigating county lanes. High on my list of places to stay again.

Set in beautiful peaceful grounds a hidden gem! With an extremely well spaced room and air con and just luxurious king size bed. Tea/coffee, and drinks fridge what more can you ask for. The evening meal was delicious and a very good choice of beers too. All the staff where really helpful and professional and made you feel so welcome. Reception staff where brilliant quick and also so friendly. The outside patio was a great place to chill out in the evening Sun. Would highly recommend, it felt like been on holiday. Thank you all for making our stay a pleasurable one.

I stayed here for 2 nights for business trip, beautiful building and the bedroom was large, clean and had good working aircon which was a joy in this summers heat. Plenty of parking, food was good, and there was a pub just a short five minute walk away which had 3 real ales on. Plenty of tables around the grounds to hold business meetings / chats I'm struggling to find any negatives (chips could have been a bit crispier but that's how hard i'm thinking of a negative) I would definitely stay again if in the area

Awesome place: delicious food, spacious stylish rooms, courteous polite staff, excellent customer service. Bathrooms are spacious and clean, regular supply of high quality cosmetic products. Rooms are cleaned daily, towells are changed daily. Additional blunket provided although never needed as the heating is excellent. Situated in a quiet area off the A57 and M18, with a gorgeous park next door.

Excellent hotel, clean smart rooms and excellent customer service. Hotel is set in pleasant setting and is convenient for access to motorway. I have stayed at this hotel many times and have always enjoyed my visit. My only very slight complaint would be that the food choices do not seem to be as varied as previous years. Having said this I must add that the food is always of a high standard

This hotel is ideally situated halfway in-between where me and my friend lives , we booked this hotel purely based on that for a catch up evening , I was pleasantly surprised at how nice and worth the money this hotel is . We had room 105 , paid £105 for a Saturday night , the beds are comfortable, the bathroom is nicely decorated and had a nice view of the church . Their was two weddings on during our visit and was advised by reception if we wanted food we may have to wait a little longer than normal as they were busy with the weddings , No issues for us but thought pre warning us was a good idea. We didn't hear any noise from the wedding guests which I was also surprised at as we were so close to the function room . As seen in other comments the WiFi isn't the best especially for calls , texting and emails on the free WiFi is adequate. Ample car parking The grounds are lovely to walk around but nothing else around here within walking distance. We probably will return soon as it's a perfect location for us.

Hotel is a lovely Historic building with a welcoming atmosphere, the rooms are very clean and nicely decorated. the bathrooms are lovely with good showers. The restaurant was amazing really nice food and excellent service The staff where super friendly and helpful

I would have given 5 stars had the internet even been remotely functional. All other aspects were great, but my best reception was in the hall. Even the restaurant had poor coverage. The bar was only slightly better.

An interesting hotel. The entire staff is wonderful - helpful and friendly. The restaurant is very nice - good selection and well-prepared meals. The grounds are beautiful. Wifi service is very poor throughout the hotel and cell service is also hit or miss - this was very frustrating. I was in a room called Bellasis - large and well appointed, but with some issues. The mirror in the bathroom - so small I thought it was a mistake and I was missing something. You can't get the room dark at night and the church next door tolls the hours all day and night - loud! Without a car you are also limited - one pub and a convenience store within a 10-minute walk.

This hotel was in a beautiful setting, had great amenities and well trained and personable staff. I would highly recommend it. As I use a mobility scooter that can be awkward but the staff made sure my needs were accommodated both in the room allocated and in the restaurant. The bar lounge was lovely and relaxed, the restaurant lovely and the food excellent. The barman was very helpful and very pleasant. Reception staff were very helpful. Couldn't ask for more from the bedrooms.

This was a really nice hotel in beautiful grounds and with spacious rooms. The room we stayed in had a large kingsize bed which was absolute luxury compared to other hotels we stayed in in the area. It was clean and comfortable with a nice bathroom. We did not use the hotel restaurant or other amenities as we were out all day but these were available. We enjoyed the peace and quiet and it was the most restful place we stayed in the five weeks of our holiday in UK. Even though there was a wedding function we heard no noise at all in our room. Although we only spent two nights here as we booked at the last minute will certainly look to stay here as our preferred hotel in the area on our next visit.

Reception: very friendly & quick (however nothing special voor Rewards Members). Rooms: no lift but that was for me no problem, nicely renovated, clean, all you need except NO WIFI, which is unacceptable these days (mobile no problem, but laptop yes). Dinner: freezing cold (why? to chase the customers ASAP?), very friendly service, food good but nothing special. Breakfast: a lot of choice, very good. Location: super, in a big park, quiet, lot's of parking.

The hotel setting is stunning, very friendly and helpful staff and the food is beautiful (always check the specials) The drinks are rather expensive though We couldn't get an internet connection in our room from Wi-Fi or our provider

A wonderful two night stay in the beautiful Tang room. What a wonderful room, light and airy with high ceilings and a beautiful stand alone roller rope bath!! From start to finish we enjoyed our stay. Beautiful breakfast each morning and also the bar food we had the first night was lovely. We were there for a Wedding which was beautiful and we were all looked after so well, from the drinks in the gardens to the fabulous wedding food. This is a beautiful place but what makes it special is the way we were treated by every member of staff. Everyone was friendly and helpful and just wanted to ensure we were enjoying our stay. Daniel especially (hope I have not renamed him …tall with glasses) was kind , attentive and a great sense of humour. Thanks for our wonderful stay and would recommend you every time whether as a wedding venue or for a overnight stay . Thank you.

I was directed here by a local business partner and was positively surprised by the nice atmosphere and of good service I received. Very large rooms with high ceiling. Excellent dinner in the evening and a typical English breakfast in the morning. And all this at a fairly low price

I had my wedding at Aston hall a couple of days ago and it's memorable for all the wrong reasons. The first disaster was when my father was denied access to my room in the morning making him see his daughter in her dress for the first time in the middle of the car park along with the car driver and photographer! As we arrived back from church we were meant to be greated by bottles of lager and glasses of Prosecco for the guests to enjoy while we waited to be seated for lunch…we pulled upto a white table and nothing else…as we approached the table a young lad came running over with around 20 bottles of beer and chucked them in a bowl of ice and went to fetch a bottle of Prosecco which was no where near enough and left us to open bottles with whatever we could find.we were left like this for 2 hours. We then sat down for dinner which wasn't what I was expecting with how much the meals had cost us and a few of the guests were complaining that the food wasn't even cooked fully! We had to ask for the childrens juice jugs to be bought out as none of it had and they were sat there with nothing else to drink..and our glasses were supposed to be topped up which never happened …we were then asked to leave the room while it got set up for the after party which in their eyes meant grabbing some bin liners and just throwing everything away that was there..this included some favour boxes and name tags which a few guests wanted to keep..while that was happening I (the bride) was then approached not once but twice by 2 members of Aston hall infront of a big group of guests about a bed that may have been broken the night before..this bed has been used by a 15 and 19 year old but as it was embarrassing infront of all the guest that were stood next to me I told them I would sort it tomorrow…at that point a few of the guests pointed out to them that no way should that have been said infront of them for the staff to say it again which resulted in me getting very upset…after that We got passed to someone else for the night do and hardly saw him…the dj then turned up (Aston hall supply him) and told us he had no internet for songs so we'd have to have whatever music he had! All through the night guests were complaining that every time they put a drink down that the staff were just taking them away and at the prices they cost no one wanted that all night!..as we left the room and made our way into the bridal suite we were then greeted by a lovely letter telling us the bed still needed paying for if it was broken! We left early the next morning as I didn't want to be embarrassing infront of other guests in the breakfast room…so didn't even get to say bye…wouldn't recommend paying the price they charge for a wedding here

After recently staying for a wedding. Can only say how disappointing it was. Awful breakfast, thank goodness for toast. Rude staff, rude management. Wouldn't recommend staying. 10 years ago I would have but not now.

If you are a guest at a wedding at this venue Do Not book a room here .Their booking says that booking in time is 3pm which is the time actual wedding time .This means that you have to get changed either in your car or travel to the venue in your wedding clothes .When I asked if we could book in early they charged me a extra £20 for booking in at 12pm saying that they only have 5 slots for people coming early .This is just rubbish and is a blatant way of screwing you for money .This must be the only venue in the country that doesnt allow people time to even get changed before the wedding they are attending .Book somewhere close at half the price that's more flexible

Aston Hall just hosted our wedding and we honestly cannot thank them enough. Every single member of staff, Rebecca, Steve, Angie (and the lovely lady who looked after us in the day) and Rachel to name but a few, were ultimate professionals and did everything in their power to ensure we had an amazing day. We received such a personalised service, and were guided through the day without a single glitch. We truly felt that they were there just for us on that day. It is such a beautiful venue and we were able to have our wish to get married outside which was the icing on the cake! The food was absolutely delicious and everyone commented on the quality of it. Some guests commented that it was the best wedding they had ever been to, and they were going to leave their own review here too. We would highly recommend this venue to anyone planning their wedding. You will honestly not be disappointed. We are just sad we can't do it all again! Thank you so much Aston Hall. I stayed at Aston hall as part of a wedding party. What an amazing venue and team there. The whole thing ran like clockwork. The team made it look effortless. Nothing was too much trouble. They excelled expectation at every stage. The food was amazing, the venue perfect. The room was so opulent and luxurious. The views over the grounds breathtaking. Breakfast was outstanding and the staff so attentive. An amazing experience and all credit to Steve and his team. Hats off to you.

What a wonderful hotel Aston Manor turned out to be. Chosen as a handy motorway stop-over, this hotel proved to be classes above other brands in much higher price ranges. Our room was very comfortable and the restaurant meal was excellent. My partner declared the fish and chips were the best she had ever eaten. An overall superb experience.

Did visit aston hall on Friday for lunch with friend yes are no words to say good was them the start was white oinon soup.snd so good and main coures lasagna was outstanding to and sweet all so outstanding to from very happy miss Victoria. Jane twibell

Wedding venue was taking place, when I stayed at this hotel, payed £135 for a double room, noise started at 9 pm, until the early hrs of the morning, alerted the manager, who said he will have words, but the noise carried on,was intolerable, shouting swearing, car doors slamming, car horns, asked for a change of room but none available. Wrote an email to management the next day, but replied with a poor excuse, no discount offered, will not be returning there.

It made us so excited for our wedding here next year. We were gifted a night stay (with breakfast) and dinner rate from a family member and it was amazing! The staff are so friendly, polite and accommodating which is so nice to see. The luxury room (Tang) we stayed in was beautiful and again made us excited for us to stay for our wedding but also knowing our wedding guests will have a comfy stay is also great. The food was delicious! I had lamb rump and it was immense. Again, gave us confidence knowing our wedding guests will have great food! Breakfast was also nice! Overall we had an amazing stay and it made us so excited to get married here next April!

Unfortunately it was overpriced for what we got room was big but very basic and quite cheap looking telly was small and most channels didn't work too close to a clock that chimed the time most of night and early morning there was 2 weddings that night and because of that were told to have breakfast before 8:30! So no lie in nice enough but I feel it was expensive for what we got

I have now stayed at Aston Hall on 4 or 5 occasions. The building is indeed impressive, and I cannot fault the rooms. They are all very well maintained, very clean, and have all of the facilities you would expect. However, while the staff are hugely welcoming, and helpful, the quality of food in the Restaurant has slipped a little. The range of food on the menu is a little limited, and leans more towards 'Pub Grub' than restaurant quality, and seems to be a little pre-prepared than when I first stayed in 2019. All of this is perhaps understandable in the wake of the pandemic (I hasten to add that I stayed here mid Covid, and the staff were brilliant in keeping the place open), but it would be a shame if it slipped any nearer to the offering expected in the budget chains.

Efficient and friendly check in. Clean and spacious room with big cosy bed and well maintained wet room. Really good breakfast. A coffee pot each. A well chopped fresh fruit bowl and choice of yoghurt. A well cooked generous breakfast served very quickly with used crockery cleared promptly. Check out again efficient and friendly. Can't think of anything to improve out stay.

A relaxing comfortable clean and cosy atmosphere, spacious rooms, decorated in style. Superb food made and served with care; tasty, generous portions. A regular place to use when in the area because of its comfort, excellent service, cleanliness and customer care.

Fabulous place to celebrate in style .. It was my daughter's 50th birthday party & lots of guests stayed over .. I held my 50th birthday event at the hotel this past weekend with nearly 100 guests… nearly half of which stayed over at the hotel and breakfasted there too. My dealings from start to finish with the staff at Aston Hall were exemplary. Rebecca my events coordinator/sales manager was lovely, accommodating , patient, caring and responded to all emails swiftly. Other excellent staff to note were Sarah -her manager-who dealt with matters in Sarah's absence, Tom who managed the night of the event and Levi his right hand man…it's a tight knit team that give friend high standards of customer service and aim to please. I met the GM the day after my party -Adrian - lovely too who had organised a beautiful room in which my guests could breakfast. The hotel rooms are comfortable, clean , modern and generally spacious. The night of the event ran efficiently, professionally and I received so many compliments on the food-which was tasty, well presented and hot when served. There was plenty of space in the function room to accommodate 100 guests (& more) and a DJ and full band set(with sound engineer) and an ample sized dance floor. I couldn't praise them more ! Leading up to the event omnivariant was rife-10% of my guests tested positive (all with proof) the week of the event- the hotel / Rebecca were supportive, caring and flexible to ease my stress. I can't thank ALL the staff enough in enabling my guests and I to have a fabulous evening! Well done-& I would definitely recommend you. Just one note … more staff to check in/out/answer calls/ return calls would just be an area I would tweek but in the great scheme of things if people had to persevere to book a room it was worth it!

I emailed asking for late check out but declined, I noticed that for some reason the booking had been made for one person breakfast included in room rate one getting to hotel asked if it was possible for late check out the manager on shift changed our room so this was available excellent service. Not sure why I had to pay 9.50 for another breakfast when the room was a double but breakfast very tasty Uncomfortable bed as two singles put together which wasn't ideal meant a large dip between beds Bathroom lovely wet room , toilet seat was broken which made it uncomfortable to sit on . Staff were friendly professional and helpful

We had a family room and a twin room. The rooms were both large and had space for our two children to have separate beds. The rooms were well equipped and nicely decorated. Breakfast was excellent and the staff were brilliant.

Got to say thanks to Daniel in the bar area tonight, absolute credit to the hotel, treated guests so politely and professionally and was selling from the menu like it was his own business, came in for a burger and a pint and ended up have a glass of wine and the Duck Confit that was excellent

Stayed overnight here with friends for an 80s theme party night hosted by the hotel. Rooms were excellent value for money. We had x 2 twin rooms and a family room and they were all large and comfortable and had everything you would need for an overnight stay. Liked the fact that we had a bath and over bath shower in the bathrooms with free toiletries. Lovely large soft towels also provided. Liked the heavy blackout curtains as aids a good nights sleep. Food served on the night and at breakfast was also great. Staff friendly and polite. Perfect and can't wait to stay again.

The hotel looks very impressive and our room was comfortable. Dinner was excellent and enhanced by lovely smart, friendly and efficient staff. Breakfast was very good too even though the sausage wasn't to my taste. Loud music from our friends enjoying themselves beyond our bedtime kept me awake for a while but it didn't go on too long. Not a complaint. All staff were very pleasant and helpful. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

We had our wedding at Aston Hall and it was a disaster from start to finish. They were understaffed and the staff that they did have there were rude and incompetent. Some even under 18 and serving behind the bar unsupervised! We paid for the whole of the Lagonda Suite but they only let us have 60% of this on the day! They tried to put our photobooth in the corridor outside the toilets but we had to argue with them to have this near the dancefloor. They tried to stop our flower supplier from entering the building in the morning to set up and said they had to do it! DO NOT LEAVE THINGS AT THE HOTEL PRIOR TO THE WEDDING FOR ASTON HALL TO LOOK AFTER! We also left things at the hotel the day before for Aston Hall to set out on the tables etc. When we arrived on the wedding day, 6 of the favours had gone missing and still to this day no one from Aston Hall knows where they are. We ate our main course at around 5 - our pudding wasn't served until 8-half 8! We had to ask the bar staff to clear glasses from the tables as there weren't any space for any more glasses. after asking 3 times we ended up having to clear the tables our self and put the empty glasses on the bar. The service was that bad on the day we had a meeting with the management after the wedding as that much went wrong! we had a list of over 20 things which weren't right!

Clean very friendly staff, bed so comfortable . Check in and out was very speedy. The room had all amenities you could need. We would definitely recommend this hotel, we had a basic room, and was amazed how lovely it was.

We stayed on the 28th December and attended a friends wedding in the hotel. The room (a twin) was nice and spacious. The wedding was beautiful, the building where the wedding was is close to the main entrance so not far to walk to. The meal was lovely. We stayed bed and breakfast basis, we went down for breakfast the morning after where there was a selection of continental goods and also a full English. There was a slight wait from ordering the cooked breakfast to receiving it, but when it arrived it was good quality. All in all a great stay. Thank you.

Looks great from the outside a bit less of a looker on the inside. Room was nice and large, however, the double bed was two singles put together. The kettle didnt work. The TV had no remote and when I was given one it was far to brain straining to get the TV on to the point I wasnt going to bother. The food was good and service in the restaurant was great. For the money I expected more.

This place has character. The grounds and overall appearance of the hotel have a stately feel about them. The staff were helpful, though busy due to also hosting a wedding party. Our room was spacious and comfortable. However there were a few details that left us a little disappointed. There was some litter in the room. The bathroom door hinge was broken and the door wouldn't close without shoving it quite hard. The shower needed a scrub. It all felt a bit neglected, especially for a superior double room. Overall, it was just 'okay'.

Amazing venue.. Visited for a wedding in the annex attached to the hotel.. Food was first class.. The beef and Yorkshire puddings.. Wow... And top marks for pulling out great food for my son who is gluten free at the last minute with no warning.. The staff fair play could not do enough for everyone.. Wonderful venue for weddings pics... Thank you for all your staff for making its such a wonderful experience... For everyone involved

One of the best Christmas party nights I've been on for a long, long time. The service was excellent, the food was plentiful, well cooked, warm and tasty. The DJ played a good mix of music that suited all generations that created a very festive party atmosphere. Well worth the price and very well recommended

We had a lot of hassle last year with another hotel we booked with but the staff at Aston Hall were so helpful and friendly to deal with from start to finish. The Christmas Party night was amazing, the food was lovely and hot, the staff serving were friendly and the atmosphere was great. Some stayed in the hotel for the night. The rooms were lovely and clean and breakfast was nice the next morning.

From the moment the 23 of us arrived for the party night and stay over, the hotel couldn't have done more to make it special. Every effort from all members of staff were made to make the stay special.

Lovely setting and nice large room. Decor a little tired, nice looking en-suite with shower only, no bath. Food disappointing both n evening and breakfast. Nothing actually wrong with it but reasonable pub lunch standard rather than quality hotel. All felt as if mass produced and doled out to order rather than individually prepared. Problems with plumbing, inadequate water pressure meant water supply stopped completely in the evening with no maintenance workers available. Provided with bottled water and offer of moving to alternative room across in another building but water returned at low pressure. Weak, cool shower only in the morning. Wedding event that evening with poor sound control for other residents.

Cramped bar on arrival, serving Prosecco and wine in half pint glasses. 3 course menu, didn't get the starter I asked for was told “we've ran out” and also again on the dessert, Then appeared 40min later the bar in the function room was practically empty and not much on offer, very busy and minimal staff, definitely all overworked and stressed.

Fantastic service and organisation. We have been every year (exc Covid year) and it just gets better and better. Everything is top class. Santa was amazing and Angela the Duty Manager runs a very tight ship! The staff know exactly what they are doing and are so friendly. We will continue to visit Aston Hall again and again. We are there again on Boxing Day and we can't wait!

Absolutely shocking. Air conditioning was dripping water on half the table, no remedy, mix up with every course of the meal , other guests using our tab , half our table didn't receive desert . Unable to order certain drinks

We attended a wedding and stayed overnight. The service was excellent and we had no issues. My daughter has allergies which always makes eating in a new place a worry but the hotel couldn't have been more accommodating and helpful - thank you!

I have been to this hotel many times for a meal and each time I asked to a latte coffee it was always served lukewarm, which is disappointing when I expect to receive a hot cup of coffee. So this time I asked for a hot latte explaining they were usually served lukewarm, and could they please give me a hot latte. It arrived lukewarm, and so when I complained to the manager I was told they only heat the latte to 60 degrees. Then I was given an explanation of how detrimental to the taste of the latte it becomes if it is served hot (anything above 60 degrees). The manager made it sound as though anyone expecting a latte to be served hot - such as you would expect a hot cup of coffee to be served, was just plain stupid. What is interesting is that you can have a choice of coffees but you cant have the choice of a hot latte! What utter nonsense, the real reason they don't like to serve the latte hot as they know they should do, is all down to the milk frothing better for them to pour and (in their opinion) tastes better lukewarm. However, as a customer, I don't think it is unreasonable to request a hot latte and be served a hot latte. What is unreasonable is to specifically request a hot latte, and the be served a lukewarm latte, followed by an idiotic lecture by some pompous manager who feels Best Western Hotels knows what is best for me, and I should be happy to pay for a lukewarm coffee and not bother the manager with such a trivial request. There are lots of cafe's, bars, restaurants and hotels that serve latte's nice and hot, unfortunately not the Best Western Hotels, because what they think is more important than what the customer wants.

Had a great stay at this lovely hotel. Whilst there was a discrepancy upon arrival over the deal booked, this was soon fixed without any fuss by a very efficient and welcoming lady at reception. Our large room was clean and very comfortable with all the amenities you'd expect from Best Western. Breakfast was excellent and set us off to a great start the next day. Just a shame we couldn't have stayed longer. Hotel is clearly geared up for weddings, conferences and the like and management need to ensure that this doesn't come at a cost in service to its everyday paying customers. Oh, and one request please for more signage to point out breakfast area, reception etc when coming from rooms. Would definitely stay here again.

From the moment i checked in, I knew this was the perfect hotel for me. The staff at the front desk were strikingly polite with considerable smiles. The room was tip top with abnormally huge bed to fit a family of 6. COMPLIMENTS TO THE CHEF!!! The food tasted like it was Michelin Star from breakfast all the way through to dinner. I cannot wait to go back for the Mac n Cheese balls. I will be back very soon. John

I recently stayed with my girlfriend as we were visiting family in the area and I cannot recommend the hotel more. The staff from start to finish were nothing but friendly, and accommodating to our requests as we arrived late and had forgotten a few items. The food was amazing, we ate in both the restaurant and bar for breakfast & dinner. The original building is beautiful yet contemporary. I'd recommend the hotel to anyone looking to stay within the area!

We stayed here Friday too Sunday and had a good first experience, greeted by staff on arrival who were helpful and friendly. Shown too our room after check in. Family room was spacious with lovely high ceilings, massive wardrobe, and 3 beds, view from the window was pleasant for a ground floor room, no noise whatsoever, very relaxing, room was clean. Bathroom was nice but only downfall was that the towel radiator didn't work and the bath size was tiny but towels lovely and big. Air com remote control didn't work but we used the radiator as it was chilly outside, we had great sleep and blackout curtains useful. We didn't experience any food or drinks but we were out most the day visiting family. Check out was quick. Would definitely recommend and will return in the future, free parking was a bonus.

I was quite excited to stay here on a work trip as the building looks absolutely beautiful. This soon wore off. Initially when I arrived for check in the lady on reception refused to let me in as the room had only been pre-approved on the work credit card (which I did not have). My colleague experienced the same issue the week prior to this but had the paperwork with the last four digits of the work credit card as was granted a key to the room. I had the exact same information but was not allowed in. In all honesty I wish I had just left and driven home at this point. Anyway, three hours later my colleagues arrived with payment and I was given access to this beautiful building..... I stayed in the Dubarry room. I'm not sure if the cleaning team had missed this off their list for the whole four nights I stayed......chewing gum stuck to the bedroom window, dead flies and cobwebs in the net curtains, the last guests half used shower gel on top of the shower, some kind of fruit seeds on the floor and blackjack sweet wrappers behind the headboard on the floor (probably still there) this all remained for the four delightful nights I spent there. Evening meal. The restaurant was never busy but the service is so soooo slow. There appeared to be lots of staff hanging around but not actually doing anything. One of them could have at least cleaned the enormous cobweb hanging from the ceiling near the till area which could have been there for years looking at the size of it. The food itself is average, not at all worth the price. Breakfast. This was actually okay but if you are in a rush just avoid because you will be there for at least half an hour waiting for some egg on toast when no one else is even in there. Baffled to say the least. Overall, although the building is lovely but the way it's managed has absolutely let it down, hopefully it gets sorted in the future. However, won't be returning to see it!

We booked several rooms for W family party. Bedding was dirty there was no tv remote. Breakfast was awful and staff weren't very helpful either! The place it's self is beautiful but would benefit from been run better.

We booked the hotel for private dining after our wedding last Wednesday. The room we were in was lovely and the meals were all first class with everyone saying how much they enjoyed the food. Could you please pass on our thanks and gratitude to our hosts Hannah & Tom for making our day so special, he was attentive and good humoured and nothing was too much trouble for them and they are a credit to you and your Hotel. The hotel and staff were all fantastic and we will definitely be returning in the future whether that's for Sunday Lunch, an Evening Meal or a venue for Private Dining as we were thoroughly impressed with the hotel, food and staff. Thanks again for a wonderful experience.

Attended a wedding on the 24th and booked a room. Upon check in the receptionist was cold and very abrupt. I asked for a spare key as my other half was part of the wedding party and already checked in. I was told I wasn't allowed one because there wasn't one. I said how do I get in and she told me I'd have to find the key. She rolled her eyes and had no manners. Not someone you want to be greeted by. When I finally got into the room I was welcomed with a smell of sewage and staleness. The room was very dated. The shower showed traces of mold. The decor and carpets were old and not in a good way. We rushed to get to the wedding after wasting 15mins getting the key. When we got back to the room in the evening the heating had been turned to the max. The room was unbearable. We opened all the windows to be greeted by the car park noise. The bed was also very uncomfortable. They were very hard. We had paid for breakfast but gave it a miss after a terrible nights sleep. On a check out I was not once asked how my stay was. Probably not a bad thing for them because by that point I just wanted to get out. We had a look at a friends room that was on the other side of the building. They were key card rooms not key and they were very dated. We got the best out of a bad bunch in terms of rooms. This hotel was not cheap to stay and definitely not worth what we were charged. I feel we were ripped off and they got away with it because it is a wedding venue. Based on the service and the rooms I would rate it as a two star. The only positive was the hotel bar and wedding staff. They were very polite and accommodating.

Stayed here as a base for work. It is lovely and I really enjoyed my stay. I had a tiring day at work and when I arrived, Maria at the front desk was lovely and welcoming. The bar/ restaurant staff were also so friendly and could not do enough for me. The room was spotless which is so important during these unsettling times with covid. I will definitely go back. In fact, I am back next week.

We stayed at the Best Western Plus for one night, as the wake of a good friend who had passed was held there. All in all and considering the circumstances we enjoyed our stay. Our room was small but clean and comfortable. The breakfast costs were extra, but was freshly cooked, and lots of variety. Coffee was excellent.

Disappointed, the service, food and drink needs to be addressed. The young man (Daniel I think he was called) worked his socks off, we saw others but he was the only one who seemed to be working, serving food, working the bar and chatting with guests. We were given the afternoon tea, but the coffee arrived 10 mins after we started eating. The choice of sandwich was basic just egg mayo, cheese and onion, wafer thin ham and tuna mayo. For the price (£20 each), I expected something more luxury than this. Apart from the sandwiches, we had two mini sausage rolls. It needed just a little side salad or even a few crisps as the whole thing was so bland. Too many sweet treats, these were really poor quality and certainly did not appear to be home made, all in all too much desert and not enough sandwiches. We had to ask for our prosecco as we weren't served with it. You have been warned, don't waste your money

My colleague and I ate in the restaurant last night and were served by Daniel M. He was Polite, had a good sense of humour and couldn't do enough to make sure our meal was enjoyable. The perfect balance between attentive and leaving enough time for guests to relax and enjoy the food. The food was also excellent First review I've ever bothered to write on TripAdvisor but felt it right to do as Daniel genuinely deserves a mention, I hope this gets passed on Would have been 5 star but staying in the Darcy House building it seems unfortunately that the area of the hotel is near a local church or something and a bell tolls every hour day and night to mark the hours. Yes that means 11 tolls at 11 and then an additional one every hour from 1am waking every hour until 7 to count them. Not really sure how you can do anything about this other than burn the church down but just thought I would mention it

We held a 60th birthday lunch at Aston Hall hotel for 30 people and it was absolutely perfect. All staff were efficient, friendly and courteous, the service was faultless and efficient and the food absolutely delicious. We had Sunday lunch and all our party were 100% happy with their meals. Portion sizes were very generous and we felt it was excellent value for money. We hired a private dining room which was spacious and bright and as the weather was nice, we were able to sit outside and enjoy the lovely surroundings. Thanks to everyone at Aston Hall for making my day so memorable.

We had 2 rooms for myself and husband and a room for our teenage daughter. On arrival neither of the rooms were as clean as should be, bits on carpet, hairs in Bath, toothpaste on door, tea stains on walls and the area where the kettle was had not been cleaned in both rooms. I was prepared to just accept this as it was late and we had a funeral the next day. We thought nothing about the beds as they were all made up but when my husband got in his it had the dirty bed linen on from the previous person and smelt awful of BO. Of course we rang reception and a young man came and changed the bed and told us we were not the only ones that night this had happened to. If we had noticed this early we would definately have not stayed. I spoke to the manager at breakfast who introduced us to the cleaning manager who apologised and said she would clean the rooms when we went out that day which when returning they had been and a note with a bottle of wine and a partial refund. This is totally unacceptable at any time but especially with covid. I do have to be fair and say breakfast was in a lovely room and was excellent . I would definately not recommend or stay there again.

Attended a wedding at Aston Hall & stayed over for one night… wow the wedding was amazing from the start with the wedding breakfast right until the lights went on at the end of the night! Food was amazing along with staff who couldn't do enough for you! Our room was a deluxe King with free standing bath! Comfortable and roomy!

The hotel is lovely as are the grounds, the staff were welcoming and accommodating, the food was spot on, great selection of wine, wish we'd had more time to enjoy the spa and gym. We would totally recommend this hotel.

Absolutely disgusted, had to check out a day early it was that vile! I understand this is a wedding hotel and noise from parties are to be expected, however the website clearly states that guests will be put in a quiet part of the hotel if a function is taking place during there stay, I was placed above the functions for 6 nights, only moved once and then told to go back next morning to the noisy room The room i was given was not like photos of the room on the website. I complained numerous times and was ignored until the Friday when I had a temporary bed in a nice quiet room. No WiFi, no window that could open, no air con only a fan, it was a sauna, spiders came to visit at night, had to wedge bathroom door with towels to stop them jumping on me, no other room was offered

We married at Aston Hall Hotel and I cannot put into words how amazing they were. Each staff member were a pleasure to talk to and could not do enough for you. Not just me for me and my groom but every guest said the same. If wonderful staff aren't enough to make you want to go check it out then maybe the tranquil setting, breathtaking grounds and luxurious rooms are, because this hotel has all of the above. We are not from the area and last year we travelled to Sheffield on a whim after me seeing this hotel randomly online. I was blown away. A special thanks to Tom the hotel manager and Dan the bar man because they made our stay so special and are such wonderful people! From getting there the day before if I could of made them both have the day off and come and be guests of my wedding I would have because they are such a pleasure to be around. Charlie who looked after me in the daytime from the sales team/ wedding coordinator was so easy to get along with and kept me calm and nothing was too much trouble. Rebecca from the same team had prior to the day put up with my countless emails leading up to the day working with me to make it the best. I can't wait to travel back for special occasions. For the price of the room I was not expecting such a beautiful building set in lovely grounds. The room was larger than most with 2 queen size beds in a twin which was a bonus. I will definitely stay there again when in the area.

Stayed for 3 nights for a family wedding. Everything was absolutely perfect. Fantastic service, clean well maintained rooms and the food is amazing. Such a perfect wedding venue. We felt so cared for and our son's wedding day was perfect

Perfect wedding venue. Recently attended a wedding and the entire day was faultless. Each member of staff working on the day were fantastic. Bar, waiting, wedding compare, receptionists, cleaners, DJ and so on. The food through the day was phenomenal. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Very accommodating. The rooms were great for guests staying over. Not one negative from anyone who attended. Can't wait to head back.

We had our wedding here on the 3rd of July and the day was perfect from start to finish. The food was fantastic and everyone commented on how lovely it was and the venue is so beautiful. Rebecca who planned our wedding did an amazing job with all the small details and organised us a projector to watch the England match. Luke the manager was with us throughout most of the day including greeting me as I arrived at the venue for the ceremony with a huge umbrella as it was pooring it down. He really couldn't do enough for us and was fantastic throughout. Luke also introduced himself to us the day before and sorted out all our decorations and belongings for the following day. He was fantastic. I also want to give a massive shoutout to Dan M who worked our entire wedding from start to finish, he was amazing with our daughter throughout the day and she absolutely loved having him around. He had a great personality and kept us smiling all day. He looked after us all night getting us drinks orders, announcing our cake cutting, cutting the cake, playing all the music requests and serving all our food. The hotel room was fabulous and we can't wait to return soon. Thanks Aston hall for a special day we will never forget. Lucy & Luke Simpson x

Could not have chosen a more perfect venue for our wedding on 3rd July. Rebecca and Hannah went above and beyond beyond in helping us prepare for our big day through the pandemic and Charlie did an amazing job ensuring everything went as well as it did on the day itself. Tom and the rest of the bar and waiting staff delivered fab table service in keeping us and our guests in drink and food. The chef(s) did an amazing job of our wedding breakfast - clean plates all around! So much food feedback from guests about the food..and the reception staff were so polite and helpful throughout the 2 nights we had rooms there. With the current restrictions in place for weddings we were worried we wouldn't get the full effect of the wedding we had initially hoped for but what we had was just perfect. The manager even agreed to us safely live streaming the England v Ukraine during our reception which was a lovely surprise for our guests - plus England won! We had the Tang for our wedding night too and it's a beautiful room, so romantic. We absolutely love this place and can't wait to come back for food, drinks and overnight stays. Thank you so much to each and every one of you ❤️

This is an excellent hotel in a beautiful setting. The hotel is immaculate, lovely staff who are very friendly and accommodating. We had a lovely meal in the main restaurant, I had a steak, fabulous. The breakfast was excellent with a good menu. The room was a great size, very clean. This hotel has adapted extremely well to the pandemic and we felt completely safe at all times. We travelled down from Scotland for a visit to family who live locally and will definitely stay here the next time we are back. The company, Best Western had a 15% discount for NHS staff, which was much appreciated by two exhausted doctors. Do not hesitate to book this hotel!

Lovely welcome from staff on hand to help with any queries ! Rooms are large , clean and comfortable, hotel is set in very nice surroundings but close enough to motorway for commuting. Restaurant meals and breakfast of high standard! Local shops, pubs and walks close by and gym onsite !

Had a wonderful night here celebrating my birthday. The staff could not do enough to make the occasion special, in particular Rachel who was lovely and very attentive. The food was absolutely gorgeous. Craig the chef is highly talented and creative, and this showed in the exceptional quality of the food. We were also really impressed by the value for money. We stayed 2 nights at the Best Western Aston Hotel, which sits in stunning grounds. On arrival we were greeted by friendly, extremely helpful & professional staff. All members of staff we met during our stay were so helpful, polite & friendly. We were very happy when we entered our room. It was spacious, quiet & well equipped. Meals & service in the restaurant were also above our expectations. There are some very scenic walks within the hotel grounds. We will definitely stay again at the Best Western Plus Aston Hall Hotel.

My wife and I only stayed overnight at this hotel and enjoyed our stay very much. The only thing that annoyed us both was the bar service as twice ordered a drink and never got one as the staff were more interested in the Wedding party. This breakfast is amazing.

Booked a night for the wife's birthday and we were not disappointed. Not only does this establishment provide great value but the service is there to match. All the team were so warm and friendly. Only 20 minutes from Meadow hall's shopping Centre. We would not hesitate to rebook or recommend.

My friend wanted to treat me for my 50th and since it was the first weekend when you could eat indoors again treated me to afternoon tea here - it was lovely, plenty to eat, waited on hand and foot and even gluten free was taken into account. We were the only ones in so it was quiet but that didn't detract from the experience. I have been to weddings in the past and its always been to the highest standard. I stay at the Aston Hall often and I'm never disappointed. The food is exceptional at the price and has been for 10 years + not sure it's the same chef but the quality is consistently high and beyond my expectations of hotel food. Easy access to M1 makes the Aston Hall a perfect stop-over venue.

Stayed here November 2020,just before 2nd lockdown. Hotel staff all amazing under very difficult situations,closing the following day! Thanks so much for allowing me to re book twice,and being so understanding. Prices great,food delicious,real restful tranquil place. Definitely be back next year. Julie and Rebecca

We had a family Sunday lunch at Aston Hall. The staff were polite and the service was good. The meal was reasonably priced and good value for money. We will be visiting again and would recommend a visit.

Our daughter and son in law held their wedding at Aston Hall and despite all the worry and concern over covid etc...the hotel did everything they could to help. The ceremony was wonderful...the meal in the restaurant was excellent and the staff were so helpful. Particular thanks to Kelly for all the preparation and organisation and to Tom on the big day for being a superstar and looking after the bride throughout the day.

Stunning!!! Date night ,social distancing, stay safe so many things to consider but what a lovely relaxing evening with good company, obviously, really yummy food, lovely service and surroundings, we would definitely recommend eating and staying here. I honestly could not be more impressed! I recently stayed at Aston Hall Hotel whilst visiting family, family who I unfortunately haven to been able to see in months due to the current pandemic. With this considered, I've been so hesitant with visiting let alone staying in a hotel but I cannot tell you how impressed and at ease I felt here. The welcome at reception was so warming but completely respectful of my space with sanitiser and guidance signage around. The hotel cleanliness I cannot fault, I felt so comfortable moving around between my room and the restaurant for dinner. The food in the restaurant was great, so much so that the following day I booked to bring my parents for afternoon tea. Thank you to the team that made my stay really enjoyable considering the current nervousness during this time. I'll definitely be back!

Have been staying here for a number of years and have praised both staff and establishment at every opportunity, sadly things are starting to go down hill, staff as always are first class but sadly my last few visits have had issues, car damaged, checked into room no facilities such as tea and coffee with previous guests discarded toothpaste and lighters still in room in this day and age of sanitising has this room been cleaned and the final straw had to sit through a meal while two guests F"d and C'd the entire time at the top of their voices this went unchallenged by hotel staff, sorry but enough is enough trying a new venue this week

Heating broke , 3 tv channels working, Big Ben out side goes off every hour on the hour (fun nights sleep) all of that could be forgiven, if they at least cleaned the room before I got there which during a GLOBAL PANDEMIC is really poor. (Stained bedsheets, dust and dirt everywhere, live spiders & dead spiders, someone kindly left a splatter dead spider on the wall, poor condition room with damp and stains,) Only stay here if you like sharing a room with 30 spiders. I would have changed rooms but I checked in late and was so tired after driving 300 miles plus already unpacked, I didn't trust myself not to lose my temper. I'm assuming there will soon be a classic management comment saying something along the lines of “thank you for leaving your feedback, but the church bells are out of our control” but they are under your control I'm afraid because you chose to build extra hotel rooms next to it for extra cash and you don't tell anyone about the bell before you stick them over there. No phone signal - no WORKING WiFi Something else to look out for - the beautiful photos of the hotel on the outside are of the main hotel, even if you pay the same as everyone else, you may not end up staying there, which is a shame because you will want to be as far away from the bells as possible

Arrive mid Sept 2020 with no hand sanitiser on arrival and a killer look from male staff member as I dared to open door before putting on face mask. The room had problems 1, it was at the top of the hall with more stairs than a none fit person can manage. 2, The room was really big but the layout had very tall display cabinets instead of side tables and we found we had to balance our phones on 3 inch decor surround. and if you want to read in bed while your partner sleeps, you will need to keep the main light on. 3, Don't order room service if you get the Empire fork room as there is not a two person table but a v-large desk for one or the other to use comfortable. 4, The leather chesterfield looks great but don't look to close in the button depressions as these have dust and yuk/crumbs. 5, Suspect white crusty something on one of the curtains which keep the some light out but not long enough. 6, Shower room was cramped with no shelving to put out toiletries, spots of black mould posed whether cleaned properly on investigation skirting-boards dust was easily spotted. 7, Full hot breakfast was good but had to prompt to get sauces. My main concern was that I watched the table next to me get cleared then with spray and wiped, all good you may say, but what the waitress did was put the milk jug and packeted sugar on the chair while she spayed the table and milk jug and then set the milk back on the table for the next guests to use. It took two members of staff to be told before the milk jug was removed. 8, A sewage smell was very prominent on leaving our room and on check out there was a report of no hot water and then no water while her husband was in the shower by another guest. 9, Please note that the phones tend to be switched off at the wall so investigate this before you have to go down to reception with a request or complaint. 10. This is the second visit in 3 years, we didn't have a favourable time then and after this fiasco we will not be using this Hotel ever again.

What a fantastic location to enjoy a family Sunday lunch. The covid rules are very strict and monitored the staff are really nice and very friendly. The service absolutely top quality from start to finish. We ordered drinks and we probably had the best pint of San Miguel we've ever had and the wine was very good. Then the food the starters soon arrived followed by the main courses which included three Sunday lunches. Omg the Sunday lunch pork was amazing with gorgeous Yorkshire puddings. There was even a nice piece of crackling and Apple sauce. I can honestly say it's the best Sunday lunch we've had in a long time we will be returning here.

Stayed for the 1 night on the staycation deal. We upgraded to a superior room. Check in was flawless, everything was explained on check in, to how everything was working during covid in the hotel. Room that was allocated was huge, and of a high standard, everything worked as it should. Bed was comfy, no backache like you sometimes get when you are away. Room and bathroom was spotless. Towels were white, big and very fluffy. Evening meal was absolutley gorgeous, generous portion sizes . Thanks to the chef, I now make a version of the avocado salsa that was on the menu with the cod loin. Breakfast again filling and substantial. Quite liked it been plated so maybe something to continue after covid. One thing that stands out at this hotel, is the staff. I have visited on a few occasions for a spot of lunch and even popping in for a coffee and every time the place is spotless, the staff are attentative and they smile. Already booked up to come back at the end of the month, it was that good !

We booked a two night stay to see family and booked a private dining room for an 80th birthday lunch. The food was lovely and the service was very good. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would definitely book the private dining room again and stay at the hotel.

My wife & I have just enjoyed dinner at Aston Hall, taking advantage of the Govt Eat Out initiative, & a very enjoyable evening it was too All covid precautions were in place, so we had a table for 2 in the spacious & elegant dining room, & all the staff were friendly, courteous & efficient We enjoyed a delicious starter of chicken & bacon croquettes in a cheesy garlic sauce, followed by a burger & the special of the day, a splendid rump of lamb, after which we had the cheese board & a very tasty "Aston Mess" All-in-all, this was a very enjoyable treat

Brilliant and attentive friendly staff, the bedroom was large and well spaced out, the bed was comfy, lovely big wet room shower, a great stay, food was amazing, great choose, nice relaxed atmosphere in the bar

We had a lovely stay in a family room with two little ones. The room was big enough and the hotel felt very safe with their Covid precautions, but very welcoming at the same time. The bar and breakfast staff were great too, and the food very tasty.

We have just had a really lovely evening in the restaurant celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary our first meal out since lockdown so we were very cautious about being out. We felt very safe and the hotel is very clean and adhering to Covid regulations really well Staff were friendly and courteous and our meal delicious reminding of Spanish holidays in the past that we hopefully will be able to take again soon Thank you we were made to feel very special

My husband and I visited Aston Hall Hotel for a meal on our 8th Anniversary. We were immediately greeted by extremely warm and friendly staff who showed us to the the terrace for drinks! The weather was beautiful and we decided to dine outside. The food was absolutely beautiful. I chose the Ham Hock Scotch Egg with Creamed Leeks to start which was utterly divine. I then had the slow Braised Beef Tagliatelle, so flavoursome and the beef was a beautifully soft texture. To finish I had the Vanilla Creme Brule with white chocolate and Raspberry doughnut which was just delightful! So light and perfectly scrumptious! We felt very safe visiting, everywhere was immaculate with hand sanitisers and clear signage and all staff wore masks. Of course we had to have a walk round the grounds. Such a beautiful place, delightful and a memorable experience. Already planning our next visit.

Unlike other reviewers, we stayed and did not just eat. Reception was set up as one way with sanitiser, although check in was so abrupt that it felt they just wanted to get rid of us. But the room was in places a little dirty e.g. I had to clean coffee/tea stains of surfaces. With big sash windows in the shower room, a blind for privacy not just a thin, semi-moldy net would be appropriate. Plus windows could not be opened for natural ventilation. When we went down for breakfast at about 9.10 we were told it was too late as it ended at 8.30 - although we were given a card in that swift check in saying it was until 9.30 and so were just offered coffee. When I complained the receptionist did helpfully arrange breakfast and we did not mind waiting for this. Another couple also appeared at 9.30 and were under the same impression. Overall, it is just off the M1 so was convenient for us travelling but we were glad it was just a night and this is our first and last visit to a best western.

My Mum (and my whole family actually!) love this place so I couldn't think of anywhere better to treat her on her 70th birthday. I was a bit reluctant to book at first as it was our first ‘treat' post lockdown (plus a big birthday) but I needn't have worried. The hotel have everything covered, sanitizer at every turn, a clear one way system, table service only and staff wearing masks etc so we felt super safe. I booked for afternoon tea for 2 with free bellinis and I asked for an outdoor table. It was all absolutely brilliant, the food, the view (from their new decking area) and the service. A gentleman (so sorry I didn't get your name!) who served us initially was fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble even setting us a very heavy parasol up outside when the sun became too hot-us Brits are never happy! Ha! One of the Sales/Events Managers Kelly even came over to check everything's was ok and introduce herself as I'd emailed her to book the afternoon tea (and had contacted her regards private parties in the past). The lovely Duty Manager (sorry again, I didn't get your name) who I had seen before at other events we'd attended was also there and remembered me/us which was so nice. Nothing is too much trouble at this place and the staff are genuinely happy to make you happy. We have had attended a few breakfasts/afternoon teas with Santa, themed nights and had 2 private parties here and we honestly wouldn't trust any other hotel! Keep up the brilliant work guys even in these challenging times...we will see you again very soon!

Had a three course meal at Aston hall hotel. The scotch egg starter was superb. Sticky toffee pudding to die for. The meal was brilliant. My wife has an onion allergy and they were spot on with her dietary requirements too. Staff were super friendly and attentive to us while we there. We shall return in the future

My daughter arranged a surprise afternoon tea for 16 of my family members for my 50th. We used the small room just off the main reception area, that looks out over the gardens. We were served afternoon tea with hot coffee and tea and water, the bar was also available for alcoholic drinks if required. The food was absolutely delicious and a beautiful selection from the sandwiches to the amazing scones with jam and cream and finishing off with the cakes of all kinds of tasty varieties. It really was something special. The staff who served and welcomed us in couldn't do enough for us and were there for anything we needed including the extra sandwiches for the teenager who wasn't keen on the cakes. All the members of our family mentioned that it was so very good from start to finish. Thank you again

We only stayed for one night but it was a pleasant experience and everyone was helpful and polite. The service was excellent and our room was clean and spacious . Overall it was a good stay . The food was excellent and we were made to feel very welcome.

We had our wedding/baby celebration party at Aston hall on sat. Everyone had a fantastic time and cant thank the staff enough. The food was amazing (especially the lasagne) and the staff couldn't do enough to help- one of our young guests is dairy intolerant and the staff checked on the day and made him an entirely different meal to suit his requirements. Would recommend this venue to anyone, the new room we hired looked very smart, there was plenty of room for the children to play, our own private bar and the whole party was very reasonably priced.

We stayed here after a fantastic day at our friends wedding which was also held here. I cannot praise the hotel enough..fantastic place to hold a wedding efficient friendly staff, food is amazing!! The room we stayed in was very clean, modern and well presented and the beds are so comfortable!! I would definitely recommend this place to everyone

Stayed overnight 80s and 90s night 6th March until 7th March fabulous evening meal included and breakfast lovely bedroom staff polite and helpful excellent value for money would recommend and look forward to something similar at this lovely hotel in the not too distant furture

Good parking in the grounds. A warm welcome at reception. The room was well equiped and spotlessly clean. The modern bathroom was spacious and provided good towels and toiletries. I would have liked more lighting as the wall tiles were dark. However lighting in the room was the best I have seen in a long time. The Gala Dinner and breakfast were plentiful, attractively presented and had good quality ingredients. Service was excellent and I noticed a positive team effort around the dining room. I have dietary needs that were accommodated without question and a dedicated waiter to ensure I was served the right dishes. I would highly recommend this hotel.

We had our wedding here on 29/02/20 From reception check-in to check out everything thing was amazing! Nothing was to much trouble we were kept informed all day! The duty manager and master of ceremony was excellent! Kelly our wedding planner was amazing and responded to all inquiries quuckly! The food was excellent from breakfast to our wedding breakfast food to the buffet! I would recommend the hotel very highly thank you for making our day perfect

I stay away often for work and this was the worst one yet. The room was laughably small with no desk, chair or bath. The sink was so small you could barely fit your hands in it. The windowsill was used as a table for the menu, welcome pack etc as there is no other place to put anything. The whole room was more akin to a Japanese sleeping pod than an actual hotel room. I've stayed in bigger Travelodge rooms in central London for a similar price. I voiced my concerns to the management who said that it was marketed as a 'small double'. Try and find that wording on Trip Advisor, Hotels.com or even their own website. You wont. On the plus side the TV worked and the door locked. If this what constitutes a Best Western 'plus' I perish the thought of what a normal Best Western must be like. Avoid

Check in was fast and efficient. Room although on the Ground Floor did involve a couple of flights of stairs or a lift. Good size room with Two Extra Large Single Beds - Very comfortable with good quality Linen and comfy Pillows. Well equipped bathroom with complimentary toiletries. Large wet room style shower but with only a fixed shower head. Complimentary Tea, Coffee and Biscuits. Limited TV channels even though these were on the Channel Guide. Good selection at Breakfast all freshly prepared. Small bar area but with a fair selection of beers, wines and spirits. Would have been nice to see Draft Cider though. Overall a very pleasant stay.

We went again for valentine's Day same as last year and it didn't disappoint. Staff were friendly and welcoming and efficient. Food was fresh, hot and well presented and tasted amazing. Very good value for money and would recommend.

I booked a standard double room for one night. Room was a good size (it was actually a twin but with two 'three quarter' size beds so not a problem as I was travelling alone). I think on the website it does say that you may be given either a double bed or two singles, so if you are a couple and prefer a double bed, make sure you confirm on check-in. The bed was very comfortable and the hotel was nice and peaceful so I had a great undisturbed sleep. The room was toasty warm which was lovely on a cold winter night. There was an adjustable heater on the wall so heat could be turned up, down or off easily. Well equipped room with iron, ironing board, hair dryer, kettle. The room was also well lit with ample dressing table / desk space. There was a safe in the wardrobe for valuables. Nice modern bathroom with a shower over bath and small supply of toiletries. Good quality towels and joy of joy, decent, firm pillows on the bed! My room was accessed via a spiral staircase and I'm not sure if there was a lift (I didn't see one) so again would recommend that if you have mobility issues you make that known on booking your room. I met friends and we dined in the restaurant. I ordered the Mixed Grill main course and what a splendid feast it was! A huge plate full including chicken, venison, steak, lamb, sausage, egg and delicious 'proper' home made chunky chips. Absolutely lovely. Also had the cheese board, again a great selection and very generous portions. The staff were very accomodating and helpful too. All in all a very good value hotel with comfy clean room and fantastic food. |Cannot fault it.

I have had some bad experiences at other Best Western hotels so I did not really expect much. I only booked to stay because it was near where I was attending business meetings. My booking request for a ground floor room was acknowledged by email so I was initially impressed by it. When I checked in, I was given the options of keeping an open tab or to pay in full. As I was told that I could have the invoice straight away so I chose to pay in full to save time. However the invoice showed only one night being paid for, and I was told to come back the next day to get the final invoice (although I had just paid the full amount!). How stupid and What a waste of time. When I asked for the final invoice the next day, I also asked why I had to come back for the invoice when I had already paid in full, receptionist tried to justify the reason by saying it was because I was staying for two nights and blah blah blah. I just gave up listening. I would understand if I had left an open tab, or I paid separately each day. It does NOT make sense to have to wait for the invoice when you have paid in full! Then I was given the directions to my “ground floor room”..... So, in order to get to this GROUND FLOOR room, I had to walk up the stairs behind reception, turn right and continue on the first floor until I found the lift just after half way, then take the lift down to the ground floor again and keep on walking. I was so stunned when I heard “.....go up the stairs ..... take the lift down.....”, I asked three times for the directions to understand that, in order to get the GROUND FLOOR room, I had to walk up stairs AND walk and walk and walk AND take the lift DOWN, and then walk, walk, walk. I genuinely thought I'd heard it wrong therefore asked three times to confirm I had not gone mad. So I thought, if I had to go UP AND DOWN just to get to my room on the GROUND FLOOR, I might as well just stay on the first floor, so I asked if there were rooms on the first floor and was told “No”. I actually do not believe the answer as there appeared to bedrooms located on the first floor. The reason that I requested ground floor room is to avoid stairs and long walks due to injury! People don't request a GROUND FLOOR ROOM because they want to walk UP the stairs AND DOWN one floor by lift! How can a hotel's ground floor rooms be accessible only by going up on stairs AND down by lift? Day two, it took almost 10 minutes to have someone coming over to take order for breakfast. A further 5 minutes wait for coffee. Also, it was generally poor signage within the hotel. And going to breakfast was hard work again. When I asked reception in the morning which way to breakfast, all I heard was “.....this room ..... and that room.....”. Due to the crazy instruction given to me to go to my room the previous evening, I just had to shut down and stop hearing. Way too complicated and stupid. As I had not expected much, this experience just made it worse and made me feel furious despite the fact that I thought the room was OK, Although no light switch/control by the bed, toilet seat too small for the toilet and badly fitted, shower screen too small....

Excellent stay, lovely sizes rooms, heating not working but we used aircon and reported it. Nice breakfast and evening birthday meal. Friendly helpful service Lovely setting and building near major routes

My daughter and I took my lovely 96 year old sister-in-law out for afternoon tea to celebrate her birthday, something she especially asked for. We chose Aston Hall because we have had some excellent meals there in the past and the hotel décor and situation is lovely. The sandwiches and cakes were ltasty, well presented and we all had a memorable time.

Have eaten in the restaurant here on several occasions now and each time the food and service has been excellent. The staff are attentive without being overbearing and food is delivered quickly. The Belly Pork and Braised Cheek ordered most recently was absolutely delicious, and the Aston Mess for desert superb. Very highly recommended!

Not sure why it has taken me so long to write a review about this hotel. I have stayed here at least once every 2 months for last few years. And why do I stay? The food is EXCELLENT! Every time, without exception, the food is cooked to perfection and the highest quality. The set menu changes every few months and the choice and quality is exceptional. Really lovely and not the bog standard dishes you see at every mid priced hotel. I cannot wait to see what dishes the chef has created when I visit. If I lived locally, I would visit the restaurant regularly. Staff are so friendly, welcoming and caring and go out of their way if you need something. Nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are reasonably priced and very comfy, except for some heating issues in some of them. However, if I have had a problem they have kindly supplied a fan heater. This is a small issue and does not affect my rating as everything else is just perfect ! I have stayed in most of the rooms here and all are clean with nice bathrooms, comfy beds and large flat screen tv's in most. Complimentary in room tea/coffee and good quality biscuits. Lots of parking in a well lit car park. Good facilities for business and private functions. A nicely furnished and intimate bar area, where good food is also served. The wedding packages look great and the wedding function area has recently been refurbed to what looks like, the highest of standards. I am particularly critical of hotels, as I have stayed in many over the last 15 years, and despite management changes, this hotel continues to please on so many levels.

Warm welcoming staff. Arrived late and had a good sandwich in bar. Comfortable. Room (TROW) was comfortable too. High ceiling so felt slightly dwarfed by it. Blood on dirty pillow. Broken bulb in bedside lamp so must have been there a while as no glass on bedside table. Bed otherwise fine. Very good gym a short walk, outside, from the main building. Nice breakfast. Overall atmosphere good.

Our family party of 15 booked for Christmas lunch for the first time eating out. We booked the last sitting as we thought that it would be a more relaxing experience and it proved to be right. I was a little sceptical at first thinking that the lunch might be a little different than our usual traditional lunch but I am pleased to say that everything turned out brilliantly we all had plenty to eat and there was more if we requested more. All but one of us went for the Turkey my wife going for the Lamb. Great friendly efficient and speedy service. Not many negatives but if I'm being a little picky there was lots of people and it was similar to a very large wedding but we understood that it had to be that way. We are already saving to book again for next year.

We was really looking forward to staying at Aston hall Sheffield for the New Years ball.. the room was disgusting.. throw was covered in bodily fluid and cushions along with pubic hair.. The Ball was excellent

Just recently stayed at Aston Hall hotel for a New Years Eve dinner and overnight stay. The hotel is well located being a short distance from the M1 motorway junction. It sits in its own grounds near the church. Our room was a good size and immaculately clean with a decent set of amenities. The dinner dance was excellent with food being of a high standard and the staff and service were attentive and helpful. The whole experience exceeded my expectations. Well done Aston Hall

Visited here for the first time on Boxing Day after being earlier in the year for a wedding. The food and service we received today was outstanding. David who greeted us at the bar was as brilliant as at the wedding. The organisation today was also amazing, it was that organised there was no overwhelming the staff or the chefs. Absolutely fantastic. 5/5 for everything received today.

From the moment you arrive you are greeted by the banqueting manager who takes you to the bar and makes you feel at home. When your table is ready he escorts you to it and right on time. Then the service begins so professional it goes like clockwork a credit to Aston hall so good friendly staff. The food is just out of this world beautiful starters nice bread and butter. Main courses roast beef cooked to perfection seabass to die for. We all had different sweets which were amazing followed by coffee and mince pies. This place is fantastic in everyway so professional great management excellent very friendly staff. Top quality food we'll be back soon.

Attended Aston Hall with friends today for Christmas dinner. The warm mulled wine on arrival was delicious and set the right festive tone for the day and the meal to come. David welcomed my party with a warm smile and greetings, and settled us in the bar with canapés which got the taste buds tingling. The main room where we were eating was lovely with the tables elegantly dressed. The staff were friendly and attentive and the food was quite frankly amazing and generous. We had a lovely Christmas afternoon, thank you Aston Hall, you always deliver. Merry Christmas to all the hard working team.

The staff made us all very welcome...the meal was absolutely perfection...I'm the only Vegan and mum vegetarian they couldn't do enough for us and made our Christmas so special very attentive staff...very professional...the venue was decorated beautifully...The Virage is a beautiful modern place to have a special function...our Christmas day was just perfect and a very big thank you to the chef for all his hard work on Christmas day...we have booked the rest of the family to enjoy new year's day lunch...Thank you Amanda Allsopp

Excellent service and very professional by all staff nothing is too much trouble. Aston Hall is highly recommended. Christmas party in the Virage suite on the 18th December beautifully decorated with Christmas decorations. Stayed at the hotel over night which was excellent and clean.

Stayed here on business and really impressed the food was phenomenal and the staff were great nothing was too much for them, rooms room were spacious and very comfortable. There's a fitness club as well which is decent. I will be back

A small group of close family attended to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary. I personally had the French onion soup, traditional turkey and cheese and biscuits to finish. My food food was delicious, as was the other diners, staff friendly and attentive. Will definitely be returning in the near future.

Stay at this hotel most weeks, staff are all first class from reception through to the restaurant always happy to help and go that extra mile to ensure your visit is both comfortable and enjoyable. We stopped for one night for a works party. Lovely welcome from the Reception Staff, room was big and lovely and clean. Had a drink in the bar in the afternoon, which was nice but would have been a little better with some back ground music, it was a bit quiet. The food at the party was excellent. The breakfast was lovely, plenty of choice and the staff very attentive. Would definately stop again.

This weekend we have had the pleasure of hosting our wedding day in this beautiful venue. From the moment we enquired to handing in our key, we have been treated so warmly and professionally. All I expect is for a room to be warm, quiet and dark: and this room failed on all counts. The bathroom was insanely cold, and 3 members of staff failed to get it warm, presumably because it was a massive room with no radiator in it, only a towel warmer. The fan in the bathroon ran without stopping, preventing sleep, until I climbed on a chair to turn of the plug at ceiling height. The bedroom has so many blinking coloured lights going on it was like a fairground (bedroom radiator lights, tv, digital clock, red and green lights at skirtboard level outside bathrooom). Designed to look good but the most uncomfortable room I've seen in years. The tap at the sink not even positioned correctly, it was blocked from turning by the sink. Had nobody noticed (how would that be possible when cleaning it?), or do they just not care? Massive lack of care in this room.

I visited the hotel for afternoon tea with some friends and as I am coeliac I needed a gluten free option. The afternoon tea I received was one of the best I have ever had, the sandwiches were fresh and tasty and the buns excellent, there were so many I had to take some home, my friends afternoon tea also looked lovely . Would highly recommend

Great place to stay relax and be pampered in. The main building rooms are extremely good. The cottage rooms are bit small but quaint the restaurant is welcoming and cosy. I did it use the bar but will reserve that for my next visit very soon. The hotel is well situated and well appointed.

Last minute trip meant I needed a late booking. Have visited Aston Hall previously so new I'd be in safe hands. After a slightly confusing call to book in I arrived early evening. Room was large and had everything I needed. I ate in the bar and had an enormous tasty steak sandwich of really good value. A good night's sleep followed by a delicious breakfast set me up for the day. Staff were friendly helpful and polite.

Lovely staff, nice atmosphere, plenty of room in our room includding a 7.5 feet bed!! However if you want to sample the full resturant menu avoid booking if they have a wedding on as they can only offer you the bar menu, don't get me wrong the food was lovely, but we would have liked a steak and a Roast on the Sunday!!

Hotel was ok. Lovely old building with grounds. Had a luxury double room which felt cold even though there were two heaters in the room. Bathroom was also cold even when the towel rail was on. The window only had a net curtain so as soon as you put the light everyone outside would be able to see in. Mirrors in bad place so unable to sit down to do hair and makeup. Even though it was a luxury room it had a lot of chipped and stained furniture. Staff were very attentive, professional and friendly though and the food we had was to a very high standard, including breakfast.

I stayed here for 1 night with a work colleague in late Oct 2019. The hotel is in the village of Aston and is an old Hall. Very nice location and building. There is a charger point for electric cars too. My colleague was in the main building but I was put in the annex. Room was small but clean and modern (see pic). We had a drink the bar (Dan the barman was very helpful), dinner in the restaurant (enjoyable and tasty) and breakfast the next morning (all fine too). We only paid £70 per room (+£9.50 for breakfast) so very reasonable. Overall, definitely recommended.

The room was well appointed and clean, nice toilerteries, hairdryer, ironing board, iron. Coffee and tea making facilities with lovely biscuits! Breakfast offered a wide choice and the Aston breakfast cooked to order. Thoroughly enjoyed the Wedding venue. Overall, excellent value for money.

First good points, the staff were excellent friendly and extremely helpful. The outside is beautiful as are the grounds very peaceful, reception is lovely with the fire although it isn't not real is welcoming. The rooms are fairly good but the fixtures are in need of repair, our tap to change from shower to bath fell off with lots of black mould behind it and the toilet seat was wobbly. The Aircon was rather noisy, and for the price the rooms were a little on the expensive side as they were not particularly big. Some parts of the main public thoroughfare were obviously in need of attention with apparent damp and some repair being needed to wallpaper and fixtures.

They provided a package. I'm a man of few words, so forgive brevity. Easy to find, great parking. There were many of my family staying over. All the rooms were excellent and comfy. The wedding was in the hotel, all planned out and worked nicely. The wedding breakfast was simple tasty food. Hot, delivered and presented beautifully and plenty of it. Three courses of great food. David (manager) took control where he needed to and was invisible for the rest of the time. Pretty much a stress-free day. The evening was lovely, good music, great evening snacks. The bar was well stocked with drinks and staff. Breakfast was fantastic, we were very well looked after. No complaints or even grumbles. The weather was less than optimal (October 11), but it had no effect. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone. Thank you Aston Hall, David and Staff. you did yourselves proud.

Stayed for one night having held a family dinner in their private dining room. The hotel was busy as there was also a wedding on and a Motown night but the service for our meal was excellent and the food was delicious. Our room was called Fiddle ( not sure who chose that name !) it was very spacious with high ceilings and a huge bed . The toiletries were really nice and bathroom lovely. The room had a few things I would have added just to make it a little more comfortable/practical - first of these was that I was really surprised there was no fridge in such a high quality room, secondly a light in the bathroom that was dimmer for use at night would have helped as it was directly facing the bed and so the light was quite bright into the room. Breakfast was in the function room so on large tables which made it a bit less intimate , the continental buffet was good although I think the cooked breakfast was only ok the bacon was good but the portions were skimpy and despite specifically asking for a soft poached egg it was very hard all the way through and none of it was very hot - given it is cooked to order I would have expected it to feel fresh and hot. Overall a great stay although a few tweaks would have made it even better

Once again our family met for its annual get together. We were very well served by the staff in a separate function room. The menu gave a variety of dishes to tempt our various palates. The lunchtime price is excellent for a choice of 2 or 3 courses. A bar area with comfy chairs is a great place to meet each other and to be served by very friendly bar staff. We will book for next years family gathering.

We did experience a few minor issue during our stay but they were promptly sorted out by the helpful staff (bed set up as a double when we booked a twin) Breakfast was excellent and the feel of the hotel was relaxing and friendly - felt right at home

We booked for Sunday lunch for a party of 6. It turned out to be a huge disappointment. Alarm bells were ringing when we were told the soup of the day but not the roast selection. When we asked, the waiter went to the kitchen to ask but by the time he returned to our table he'd forgotten the second choice of two and had to go back to ask again. Faulty Towers echoes here! The starters were actually good when they eventually came - the service was incredibly slow even though the restaurant was far from busy. When the main courses were brought, the waiter brought the wrong meat choice for one person and another who'd specifically made a request about his choice was brought a plate which was not what had been requested. The roast potatoes were hard and the veg very al dente. Though the yorkshire puddings looked nice they had a taste to them which was unpleasant and the chef was very liberal with the pepper. Unfortunately it was poor and could have been so much better with more attention to detail and listening to requests.

I stay in several hotels a month and I have become very specific about what works and what doesn't work in a hotel. I can honestly say that Aston Hall was faultless. The staff were incredible and have clearly grasped and actually deliver high quality customer service, the food was stunning and no adjustment on the menu was too much trouble and the food was more than fairly priced and the room cost was very good value. This is definitely my new hotel for when I'm working in that area. Top marks.

The event took place in the conference and banqueting suite. The tables were set beautifully with white linen. An excellent meal which we had to pre order first the staff were helpful and efficient. The guests had time to chat because nothing was rushed between the three course meal which we finished off with coffee, tea and of course chocolates.

Very well look after during the meal by the waiting staff. The starter was Cod cheeks freshly done in breadcrumbs and tartare sauce. The Liver & Bacon was superb asked for it ‘pink' and pink it was, a really light eat when cooked this way. The polenta on a bed of a rustic tomato sauce was excellent. A great meal.

For my Birthday we celebrated with an Afternoon Tea at The Aston Hall Hotel. We had a wonderfully unrushed enjoyable tea, in lovely calm surroundings. The staff were very welcoming and helpful (especially with my elderly mother and our call out to the AA). Aston Hall is a beautiful Manor House and catered for a marvellous afternoon tea.

Tribute night.Hotel setting is lovely, room had everything you need was warm & comfy, good value for money we thought.The tribute act was ok, the main meal was good, dessert let the meal down unfortunately. Good night's sleep, bed was massive. Breakfast was disappointing, layout of tables isn't good, had to find someone to order hot food, and it wasn't that hot. Had a good evening, would do it again.

We had a lovely stay here for our friends sons wedding. The service was very good and the food for the reception was beautiful. The wedding was set outside which was a bonus and the setting was beautiful.

It's a nice hotel, but not above average. It looks typical English. The hotel has a strange layout, most of the rooms are on the other side than the reception. My room was nice and spacious and had a good bed, but also quite noisy (especially when the hotel is full with wedding guests). When we visited there wasn't enough room on the parking, so we needed to park on the grass.

Visited this restaurant for afternoon tea and found the staff and reception very helpful and friendly,the afternoon tea was very well presented and very scrumptious with tea for two more than we could finish.

I attended a Wedding evening Do last night. The place is impressive, and stands well in its grounds, but it is obvious that it has been extended several times. This is apparent, when you have to walk round the outside of the building, to get to the Restaurant. Nice in Summer, but what if its raining ? The room (109) was nice, with working Air con. and a nice bathroom. However, the Breakfast was Amateurish. One Sausage, Under cooked egg, 1 of, Under cooked Hash Brown, Soggy Mushrooms, Cold beans, and they had run out of Black Puddling. I had been told by a fellow Guest. that the Breakfasts wern't great, so it wasn't a One Off. Disappointing for £104 per night.

Stayed here last night. Went for a shower and the shower head was hanging from the wall. I then went to get into bed and there was blood on the bed sheets and quilt cover. I then went to call reception but the phone was missing so I googled the number and spoke to reception, she informed me that they couldn't move me to another room and I'd have to wait 2hrs to speak to the manager Tom as he was too busy. After this comment I decided to inspect further and found the mattress covered in urine which I have attached the photos. After calling reception again to complain further Tom did arrive at my door 30mins later and did move me to a smaller room. On checking out the following morning the receptionist did apologise about my complaint from the previous night but continued to charge £4.70 as my allowance was one drink at the bar but I had two, she also continued to charge me for the executive room, which was my original room and refused to change the cost to small box room they actually moved me to. Tom informed me that a manager would contact me but 24hrs later I'm still waiting

Overview: All-round exceptional service from Aston Hall staff from initial screening of the venue leading to the big day. The spacious venue (Lagonda Suite) was left in a decent and clean state which the venue stylists (Perfect Finish) and we decorated with no problem. We had about 40 day guests and close to 70 evening. Communication: Preparation for the big day was mostly done through communication via e-mail and phone calls - each staff member managed our big day plans really well (all done very pleasantly, friendly and professional manner). We couldn't have asked for more from them. Although, leading up to the big day, our wedding planner had resigned, and there was a handover to another planner - Kelly. She was pleasant and picked up professionally from where the previous planner organised till. On the big day, both Kelly & a manager - were fantastic and helped made it run as smooth as possible from ‘behind the scenes' - not interrupting or asking the bride & groom too much, but instead liaised with Groomsmen/best men. Venue: Lagonda Suite had a bar inside and a dancefloor (I think there was an option to split/make the suite smaller with dividers - please double check with venue). Staircase and landing and outdoor area were great for photos. Hotel room - ‘Tang' suite was very comfortable, spacious, well-lit (large windows for natural light) and great for photos (see dress & heels on bathtub pics). Food: Wedding breakfast food quality was very good (compliments from all the guests) and relatively large portions. The evening buffet choices were standard. Would highly recommend as a wedding venue!

Lovely hotel with really friendly staff. Good quality of food afternoon tea was very good. Wedding breakfast was excellent with huge portions. Room was well equipped and spacious, not rich a view from the room looked over a roof which was the only downside.

On first ngt stay noticed quiltcover was dirty with what could be one of two things chocolate or human waiste reported to desk who changed cover but wouldnt change the whole bed id dint have my phone so no foto he said he would take one & inform house keeping i email general manager on my return but didnt respond..for the prise i expected a little more will not recommend this place

Visited this hotel as we were attending my sisters wedding and this venue could not have been better. The reception room was just the right size for 21 of us and the service was perfect. The grounds are very attractive and peaceful to take photographs . We stayed over for the night and our room was very clean and comfortable with a king size bed. Would definitely recommend this hotel for your wedding or simply for a short break.

I organised a close friends baby shower and definitely picked the best venue. We had the Vanquish suite for an afternoon tea and everything was perfect! The room itself was beautiful and all set up as promised in enough time for my mum and I to decorate before the guests arrived. The food was delicious and so plentiful. The staff were helpful and polite. They checked on us regularly but didn't intrude which was ideal. There are some stunning gardens at the venue which this room backed onto. The weather was lovely so it made the day even more special. My friend said everything was perfect and I agreed so much that I've just booked the room again for my youngest daughters 2nd Birthday family party! Keep up the excellent work everyone!

OK but below my expectation for the price, no towel rail working, no light working on dressing table and room safe not working, not the quality i was expecting, at this price it should be perfect. Just one minute off the M1, a beautiful, welcoming excellent value hotel in attractive, peaceful grounds. We were extremely impressed. It broke our journey from Dorset to Berwick upon Tweed beautifully.

A lovely hotel which had an ideal location for a wedding situated just off the M1south of Sheffield. The staff were very friendly and accommodating , rooms were large and airy although lighting for putting make up on could have been better. For that special feeling ask for one of the named rooms in the old part of the building . There was a good choice at breakfast. Due to the celebrations there was a little noise late at night which some may find disturbing. I would stay again

On Thursday the 15th of August me and my now wife got hitched here and it was absolutely perfect. David Fort looked after us and made sure everything ran like clockwork. The staff were so professional and on the ball and polite. The food! Everyone was talking about the food! We chose to have a BBQ buffet for our day guests which went down a treat (the prawns were lush!) And the cold buffet in the evening was great too from what I heard (being so busy talking to pir guests we never got chance to try it). The rooms are so spacious here and comfortable. Breakfast next morning was also very nice. All in all we wish we could do it all over and over again. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping make our special day so perfect xxxx

The food itself is quite good but you have to wait for an hour for the food to come. In the restaurant you do get bread while you wait but the food itself takes over half an hour to arrive to your table also. I am quite disappointed with the fact that we have to wait this long. The rooms are great with comfortable beds.The service overall is also good, with friendly and helpful staff.

We had our wedding here on Thursday and I cannot recommend Aston Hall enough to anybody looking for a venue. From the minute we arrived the night before to the time we left the morning after ALL staff went above and beyond to ensure we had the most perfect day! A special mention to Abbie our coordinator who ensured everything ran smoothly and to David & Angela who looked after us on the day. David was a fantastic toastmaster and continuously made sure that Dan and I were happy. The food was AMAZING.. all of our guests commented on how good everything tasted. Finally.. the service on the day, from the lovely staff on reception, to the staff working on the bar and serving food - each person we encountered was nothing but polite and helpful. A big thank you to Dan on the bar who went out of his way to introduce himself and chat to us and our guests! We are already looking forward to returning :) Sian and Dan

I've been a business guest at Aston Hall for just over 2 years, generally staying 2 nights a week, every week and I wouldn't stay anywhere else! All of the staff are professional, yet super friendly and nothing is ever too much trouble. The bar and restaurant menu's offer plenty of choice and the food is always delicious. The rooms are clean, modern, spacious and have everything you need. I will truly miss my weekly visits at my 'home from home', as I move jobs and have to find another place to stay. A huge thank you to all the staff for looking after me so well. The bar is now set very high!

I always stay at Aston when i have to stay over for work. The hotel is always clean and the service is very good. The food is also very good. Typical bistro menu. You have a choice of the restaurant or bar menu. Set in a lovely setting, if weather allows i always go for a walk.

For the price this was excellent value. I often stay at Sopwell House hotels at £260 a night and I honestly would rate both hotels exactly the same...so great value and a lovely hotel.Breakfast was not a Buffet breakfast which I prefer as I'm normally in a rush and don't like to wait for my breakfast to be cooked....thi sis basically the only thing negative I can say.

We stopped just one night here, the room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. We had dinner that night which was delicious and very filling. Breakfast was help yourself to cereals, toast fruit yoghurt, pay extra for a cooked breakfast all a good start to the day and our journey going North.

On 12th July my daughter married the love of her life here, in the Virage lounge. From my arrival to me leaving everything was perfect, the staff were so amazingly helpful. The bridal suite is beautiful and tasteful, my room was perfect. I couldn't have asked for more. The bartender Scot(Daniel) was so lovely and excellent always happy to help. Had the pleasure of attending a wedding here on Friday and it was brilliant. Staff were superb, venue is lovely and the food we were served was excellent. Really enjoyed it and would recommend it. Will definitely return.

Stayed here for my friends wedding. Our room was clean , well decorated and spacious. Camp bed for my little girl was good. Breakfast was plentiful with lots of choice. Rooms are OK, the bar as well. Restaurant is good, can't complain. The gym is small, can't have a drink during the sport. Not available. The breakfast is a continues story. They take one order, walk to the kitchen, comes back and then take the order from another person. If there are 5 persons waiting, they do that 5 times instead of take several orders at the same time.

We held our wedding here last weekend, it's on our doorstep so we knew what we were getting and the venue and staff did not disappoint. Our day was amazing,from the finer details to the practicalities of going to the toilet in a wedding dress. Everyone was really attentive, the Hotel is gorgeous as was the food. Last visit was for my daughters wedding, we arrived on the day, but were staying the night. I cannot recommend highly enough this place as a venue, fabulous rooms, wonderful staff and great food. Go back to Aston Hall anytime, but not for another wedding, pockets are only so deep.

As a regular visitor to the Aston Hall on business I always find this hotel friendly and welcoming. Great value with well maintained facilities, rooms are modern clean and well equipped. Beautiful grounds, modern Gym, friendly restaurant with an interesting and modern menu. Highly recommend all round .

My daughter and son in law wedding day was the best day of our lives. Can not fault Aston Hall in any way, shape or form. Everything they promised they delivered. Special mention must go to the MC Mr David Fort, the most friendly, personable problem solver. This doesn't take anything away from the rest of the staff though, the girls on reception, the waiters/waitresses, housekeepers....all too numerous to mention. The front face of the house looks tremendous, the decor in the reception room first class, quality of food was excellent....what more do you want from a wedding day venue.

We booked this hotel last minute through an internet search. To be fair in our experience you almost always get a good deal with Best Western Hotels We booked a double room , we got a spacious room with a comfortable bed and fluffy pillows. The bathroom was clean and well appointed with large soft towels. Breakfast was reasonable,we didnt book breakfast, but were offered a deal at reception on arrival. Breakfast was adequate, and overall breakfast was value for money. I would choose a best Western hotel in the future if there was a good offer.

Outstanding quality and service. Cleanliness and upkeep of grounds excellent. Staff went out of their way to make ours and family's visit exceptional. Our son Adam married his fiancee - Courtney there and we could not have hoped or wished for a better day. We arranged a christening party for our granddaughter at Aston Hall. We had a wonderful celebration and all our guests were impressed by the room and the high standard of the food . We could not fault the helpfulness and efficiency of all the staff through from our first phone contact to book, through to the very end of our celebration. Four of us stayed at this beautiful hotel overnight after an eighties event, the food at night was delicious and served very professionally. The rooms are beautiful and beds very comfy. Breakfast was lovely but a little undercooked.

I dropped in with my friends for some food and drinks, the bar area was quite however the staff were very attentive, Natalie and Lauren who were on the bar were very friendly. I had the steak sandwich which was amazing and the area was relaxing.

Lovely hotel, great welcome and food. Stayed in Tang, which was amazing (claw foot bath in the room, as well as shower in separate bathroom), bed so comfy really didn't want to get up in the morning. Ample parking facilities. there isn't a lift, however, the staircase at the front has very low depth steps so wasn't difficult getting up with my suitcase.

The venue is beautiful and the grounds are stunning . Some of the staff were amazing , David was very friendly and helpful. A lot of the staff were not friendly, no customer service skills or personality at all. The rooms were fantastic, very spacious and lots storage.

I stay at this hotel quite a lot on business and I highly recommend it. First class service from the moment you check in to the moment you check out, it is always a pleasant stay. The food in the restaurant is always delicious and plenty of choice on both bar and restaurant menus. An excellent wedding venue. We had a Church wedding followed by a wedding breakfast at Aston Hall. The overall level of service and attention to detail was excellent. Many guests stayed either one or two nights.

We (4 adults and a baby) had a 3 course lunch in the Bamford restaurant on Saturday. We had a good choice and decent sized portions for an excellent set price. Service was attentive and efficient. I particularly appreciated the extra effort David went to in order to cater for my gluten intolerance - the deep fried brie in gluten free crumb was fantastic. The dining room is elegant with beautiful views over the grounds. All in all very enjoyable, we will definitely be back.

We got married here on 22.2.19. We had the most beautiful day and highly recommend choosing Aston Hall as a wedding venue. Our wedding coordinator, Kelly and the rest of the team did an amazing job and put a lot of effort into making our day so perfect. We even had beautiful weather for a February wedding. We absolutely loved every second of it, from beginning to the end. Kelly helped make the venue side of our wedding planning very stress free and always replied to any questions that we had straight away. On the day, we felt very well looked after from the moment we arrived and were greeted by David with arrival drinks. We felt like David went above and beyond our expectations, he was so friendly and did everything he could to make our day perfect. He even stood holding a tray of canapes for us when we didn't have a spare hand just so that he made sure we had some. David also kept checking that we were all ok and made sure everything ran smoothly. When we got to go in and have a look at the Lagonda suite, which looked stunning, David decided that the top table looked too nice to turn into the buffet table for the evening so he told us he had sorted it so it went elsewhere, which we thought was really good of him. The food was incredible! All of our guests on the day mentioned how amazing it was. The catering team did a fantastic job. We are both so happy that we chose Aston Hall as our wedding venue and we will always remember our special day. Martha and Joe

This is second time we have stayed here and as before service from check in to check out excellent,rooms clean and spacious,would recommend eating in Restaurant ,food really good,breakfast was equally good,free parking a bonus,plenty of staff and well organized even being busy that during evening

Attended party night in Volante Room, thought we were playing sardines ! About 200 people crammed into this room. The round tables were set to seat 12 people which was truly awful as we were touching each other with our elbows !. The meal was average but for the price of the entry it wasn't that bad, green beans I'm sure were raw though. The bar prices weren't that bad for hotel standards and the bar staff were professional and really lovely. The whole set up was geared towards drunkenness and shenanigans and we noted many people smuggling their own drink into the venue. The meal took an age to arrive and the young staff were wandering around like frightened rabbits and did not appear to be directed by any one. Overall the meal took ages to finish but the lemon posset was to die for. Worth the wait for this alone !. The dj played some bangers but also some rubbish and at times was painful to listen to !. The first time in my life I couldn't wait fir the minibus to take us home. Not impressed for such a lovely venue.

Aston Hall went above and beyond to help with my wedding day and we had a magnificent time. The food was incredible not just on my wedding day but the meal the night before and the breakfasts we had. My wedding was booked and organised in 3 months after having a terrible time at a different venue and the team at Aston Hall made everything simple, exciting and enjoyable. The detail that they went to was greatly appreciated and what was more enjoyable is that the people at Aston Hall didn't hound you but they did watch from a distance to ensure that everyone was happy. The queue at the bar wasn't long and none of my wedding guests was waiting for a long period of time for a drink which was great. The only shame about the wedding was that it was over so quickly and I wish we could do it over again every week. Aston Hall also catered for the me (the bride) as I was also 6 months pregnant, my dad who is recovering from cancer and a family friend who suffers from sever parkinson's disease. Everyone was well looked after and the hotel had enough space and different walk ways to please a variety of needs.

Friendly efficient staff. Rooms near the drive entrance will hear the church bell through the night, but some people enjoy that, they wont wake you. Wi-Fi could be stronger. The rooms in the main building are very grandiose and not to everybody's taste. There is a choice of modern room available.

The Aston Hall hotel is an attractive building set in pleasant grounds. It is very handy for central Sheffield, and the M1 and M18 motorways. Approaching the entrance from the motorway side involves an unexpectedly sharp left turn into the gate, so don't get caught out. The village church is a couple of hundred yards away and the clock chimes the hour through the night - not too troublesome however. I was staying here for an extended weekend, but I presume most guests would be on business. The room was fine, the maid did her job perfectly well, reception staff were efficient, attentive, friendly and helpful. If you are likely to want a full breakfast, order it when you book or at check-in - it's cheaper. The breakfast spread is pretty good. There is a small bar which is somehow rather drab and characterless. Can't say anything about the restaurant as we didn't use it.

I have been here prior to this and great, however they have built a new venue add on which looks great. Just staff do not have that BUZZ they had very much bland. Rooms great the Food great Parking great so many things great but just lost the charm that was there from staff side. Great Views and indeed location. Lots of people rave about it but I did but after this visit not so much and it is just hard to say it is all the time but on this occasion not so good

I have been staying at Aston Hall 3/4 nights a month for about 15 years and think it's the most comfortable hotel in the area as well as good location. The staff are friendly and accomodating, but on this trip one of them went the extra mile. I had an early meeting scheduled, but when i got to my car i discovered i had a flat tyre. Out of nowhere, Kane who is a hotel employee appeared and asked if i had all the relevant tools to change the wheel.Of corse i had no idea and in inspection half the tools were missing. Unphased Kane improvised and within about 10 mins i was on the road. Thanks Kane and thanks Aston Hall for developing the ethos!

Had a wonderful set menu on valentines evening. The food was very well presented and very good portions. Staff were very pleasant. Time between courses were not rushed so had plenty of time before next course arrived. Meal price very reasonable but drinks a little pricey. Will definitely be returning to restaurant. A lovely welcoming place.

the head girl and myself went to an eighties party night at the aston hall hotel, what a cracking night the evening consisted of the disco dance and a three course meal, the food was really really nice, soup of the day great, chicken kiev potatoes and veg wonderfull then a chocolate shard with sauce, absolutly cracking the the disco and dance everyone was up dancing and lots of brave souls in fancy dress ... elton john..the ghost busters george micheal a lot of the girls in ra ra skirts, really good night some really nice people there enjoying them selves, who ever organized the night take ten house points no it was that good take twenty house points, well done team, and all this for the princely sum of ninteen nintey five, spot on. we decided to stay for the night previously so that we could have a drink without having to drive, we booked a standard room, and when we finally decided to go to bed i was so happy in this room it was really spacious the bed was queen sized and very comfortable the bathroom shower all very modern and spotless all in all the aston hall hotel gets my vote in all departments, very well done team. john david f

Only spent one night here but was excellent. Hotel is 5 mins off motorway but set in its own grounds so very quiet and peaceful. Room was large clean and very comfortable beds. Toiletries, fluffy towels, hairdryer everything you need and red hot water. We had both bath with shower. Tea and coffee making facilities with snacks. Ample storage if staying for a while with large wardrobes and plenty of drawers, and full length mirror. Check in was easy and very pleasant staff all round. Breakfast was more than adequate. Buffet style for cereals fruit and yogurt but take your order for full yorkshire, smoked salmon, egg benedict etc. Very good choice. Plentyy of safe parking spaces. Would definitely recommend this hotel and will stay here when next in Sheffield.

Myself and some work friends went to the 80s themed night, we had a lovely 3 course meal, which was well catered for, a gluten free option went down really well , the disco which followed was great, it was nice to see how such a lot of people had gone with the fancy dress theme, it's our second visit, and all of us will make it a third.

I organised to attend the 80's night Aston Hall had on in January. With a big party of 22 i was rather nervous. Well i had no reason to be!! The hotel laid out two tables for us & allowed us to decorate with scatter crystals & balloons! The 3 course meal was extreamly tasty, my entire party complimented the food. As we were celebrating a 70th Birthday we had took advantage of the discounted drinks packages the hotel offered. With 6 bottles of prosecco & 3 bottles of wine we were ready for a good night! All the staff were so attentive & polite. A special mention to Tom who checked on my nan throughout the night making sure it was extreamly special for her! We will 1000% be back to celebrate with Aston hall again!

An excellent afternoon tea including one gluten free! Would highly recommend this experience for ladies who lunch. The gluten free tea was especially good. The best selection of sandwiches and cakes my daughter has experienced!!!

What a wonderful experience. from arriving to leaving, every thing was brilliant. we were dining in the new Virage restaurant, a lovely addition at Aston Hall. the staff, food, and the ambiance are excellent. we will be booking again for Christmas 2019, { plus again during the year}

I have just stayed at Aston hall again, I love this hotel, my room was very nice and very clean, I stayed in the room named harley same name has my dog, the staff are very friendly and very helpful, breakfast was excellent, I will be back their soon, has I am back working their soon.

Visited Aston Hall for our works post xmas party on saturday and we were in the new virage suite. Wow the room was amazing and the food was fantastic. Staff were friendly and the dj played great music. Had so many compliments today about the night it certainly was fab. Im sure we will be visiting again for a re run. Thank you to all the team. This room would also be perfect for a wedding.

We celebrated our wedding at Aston Hall in September 2018 and had such an amazing day from start to finish. It truly was the happiest day of our lives. All of our guests said that they thoroughly enjoyed themselves and commented on how lovely and grand the venue was and how friendly and helpful the staff were. We are so very grateful for everything everyone at Aston Hall did. Our 'Fairy God Mother' Rebecca was so helpful in the run up to the day and helped with all of the organising for the day. Also an enormous thank you to Tom for all that he did for us on the day itself and the day after, nothing was too much trouble and the whole day went so smoothly. Compliments to the kitchen - everyone was commenting on how lovely the food was! The serving and bar staff were also very efficient and friendly. The rooms had modern decor and were very clean - the room service was great too. Would highly recommend Aston Hall as a wedding venue. We wouldn't have changed a thing. Can't wait to come back on our anniversary to reminisce!

I recently organised a baby shower here with the help of Abbie and the team at Aston Hall. As there was a small group of us we were offered by Abbie to hire a separate room for the shower which was perfect! I was also able to arrive early to decorate the room which looked great. We spent the most lovely afternoon having a delicious Afternoon Tea. The staff were extremely helpful in sorting out our dietary requirements and ensuring we were topped up all afternoon with tea and coffee. I would like to say a massive thank you to the pastry chef who provided the most perfect pink themed cakes for the baby shower which were sensational. Thanks again Aston Hall, a fantastic time had by all.

massive bedrooms, great food, very close to M1 not too far from Sheffield. its basically staying in a stately home for Premier Inn prices without the overcrowding and noise. internet in the bedrooms is great too.

As always the reception and restaurant are first class professional and friendly unfortunately the hotels new 150% pre authorisation policy leaves a bitter taste in the mouth considering as a Company we have used this hotel since 2000 it seems they no longer trust their long standing guests other companies offer loyalty schemes but not here wonder when the airport style security will be introduced at check out.

Have the Christmas festive lunch today. Excellent value @ £19.95p for three courses. Superb food very nicely presented. All three courses had a good range of choices. Good service in lovely surroundings. The table was set with colour matching crackers which gave a good initial impression.

Stayed for one night in room Harley. We could not find a fault anywhere. All staff are welcoming. There was no lift to our room but the reception staff immediately offered to carry our cases to the room. The decor throughout is exquisite and in keeping with the property. There were several parties being catered for on Friday night but no noise at all to disturb. Hoping to return again

I recently stayed at Aston Hall Hotel as we had a work Christmas party there and I had to travel to be there. The hotel is set in lovely grounds and is easy to get to just of the M1. The room was spacious and very comfortable and the food was excellent. My only gripe was the bar prices were on the steep side but other than that I could not fault it and will return.

We stayed at the Aston Hall overnight followed a fantastic wedding reception held in one of their suites. The hotel is an old stately hall & is located just off the A57 close to the M1 ie easy access but without any road noise. The large double room we stayed in was large & modernly equipped with the bathroom with walk-in shower - we paid £99 B&B. The bar prices were reasonable & you didn't feel ripped off like other large hotel chains. The only minor quibble I would have was the £19 room service for 2 cheese & onion sandwiches (4 slices of standard white bread, cheese & onion mayo and tortilla crisps) - although is was a 1.30am ask. The staff were really friendly throughout and breakfast was excellent both in terms of quality & service. A really good one nighter.

We have stayed at Aston Hall 3 times over the last 18mths. Each time has been absolutely lovely. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. The rooms are are spacious and kept very clean. Food has always been superb. Would highly recommend and will be staying there again, hopefully within the next 3 months .

I wanted to say a huge thank you to all staff at Aston Hall for making our wedding day so perfect. From the day we enquired, the sales team were excellent. Nothing was too much trouble and the team were happy to meet any request we had. We arrived at the hotel the night before the wedding where Sarah and the reception team were excellent at making sure everything was ok with our rooms. On the morning of the wedding all of the staff were excellent. From the housekeepers who made sure all belongings ended up in the right place, to the C and B team who laid out all our decorations and made the room look just how I had imagined. An enourmous thank you goes to Angela who made our day incredible from start to finish. From helping me into my dress when we were late for church to making sure everyone had everything they needed all day, I could not have wished for a more perfect day. THANK YOU!!

Easy access to this large hotel it's just of the motorway, you can hear the hum of the motorway from the lovely terrace garden. We stopped for a visit as they had advertised a Christmas fair which was located in the main hotel and also within what looked like a very new function building to the side which was light, airy and modern. Christmas music and a live band helped to lift the spirits on a particular cold and grey Sunday. The staff were all very obliging and helpful and I enjoyed my first taste of Christmas a turkey, stuffing and cranberry bap! The stalls in the main all had nice products for sale a lot of which were hand made to a good and excellent standard.

The Aston Hall Hotel is top quality with very spacious and modern rooms. Idea for pleasure and business being situated near the the motorway links. Food is excellent and well presented. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Highly recommend.

All I can say is WOW! Thank you to everyone at Aston Hall Hotel for making my sister's wedding so perfect. From start to finish everything was amazing, the reception staff, bar & waiting staff, managers and housekeepers everyone was so polite & professional they made everything so much easier. We stayed the night before along with the other bridesmaids and got ready at the hotel on the morning of the wedding, Angela was the manager looking after us on the day and she came up to make sure my sister was okay and her nerves were settled. The food was to die for & even the fussy eaters couldn't complain. Rooms were spotless and its amazing what you get for the price you pay Thanks again for making the day even more special we will 100% recommend this place.

4 couples attended a George Michael tribute night, hotel was amazing especially for the price paid. Food is normally below average at this type of event but not here,breakfast was fantastic too. Staff were all helpful and professional from booking to leaving, we would all return.

Extremely clean modern room with good and comfortable facilities. Excellent range of food and friendly helpful staff. It was a long walk to the bedroom with luggage however, via an upstairs trip, then a lift down en route Everything else however was excellent..

Had a lovely evening at the George Michael Tribute night. Our evening meal was absolutely lovely as was the atmosphere and the great music. Would definitely look forward to future events at this lovely place.

This was our fourth stay at this hotel, and everything was as great as ever. The staff are always kind and polite, but the receptionist was particularly helpful this time, as we arrived very late and had missed the restaurant. She gave us directions to a superb Chinese takeaway nearby, and supplied us with plates and cutlery afterwards, so we could eat our food in the comfort of our warm room!

Beautiful setting for this hotel feels very secluded and private. Can't comment on rooms or food as was just there for a evening wedding reception but the place felt really classy and we had a very enjoyable evening. Bar prices in keeping with other chain hotels £5-7 for a spirit and mixer £4.50-5.50 pint of lager. Good facilities toilets etc clean and staff very friendly . Car parking a bit tricky when events on such as this had to park on the lane but only a short walk .

we were delighted with the airy and large bedroom. Bathroom was of a large size but gloomy and lacking in light, probably due to its black décor. We were glad to find all the facilities of hair-dryer, iron and iron-board. Confusing at first to familiar the set up of new and old building.

I stay here on business at least 1 night a week. Its a fab hotel with polite, hard working and fun staff. Its in a nice location, with excellent rooms and views. The food is very good, with a variety of choices. Highly recommended.

Recently went to a friends wedding here and it was absolutely amazing. The food was absolutely great... chicken and chorizo salad for starter... Sunday roast for main with the biggest Yorkshire pudding ever and beef was excellent quality... rhubarb and apple crumble for desert! Absolutely great! Kids were served a kids picnic box which was excellent quality! Staff were so friendly and attentive really welcoming and easy to talk to. Plenty of choice at the bar but was very expensive with a bottle of local ale £4.95 and a wine around £6.00, this is the only thing to complain about!

From arriving at the hotel to leaving all the staff were very professional and polite. We were a party of 15 celebrating our Silver Wedding Anniversary. The food was excellent and all courses were brought out at the same time so no one was waiting. A special thanks to the staff in the dining room they were excellent and very accommodating.

The greeting I received from the reception staff (a dark haired female member of staff) was so warm and welcoming. The bedroom (Tang) was beautiful with a roll top bath in the main bedroom. The bed was enormous and wonderfully comfortable. The room was quite and warm and I had a wonderful nights sleep. The food in the restaurant was great, especially as the menu was so reasonably priced. Breakfast was fab....service was quick and efficient. Check out was smooth and a pleasant process. The building itself are beautiful. Literally not one thing to complain about and instead every aspect deserves praise. Aston Hall is a credit to Best Western as are it's staff. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Held a private family dinner for a very special occasion. Waiting staff were extremely attentive, discreet and very professional. Particular thanks to Laura, James and Jade for perfect service but also to Holly who helped to make our event extra special and was very amenable and flexible in our requirements.

Given it a 1 as there is no option for zero! awful cramped room with a wardrobe smaller than a suit jacket, ripped carpets and an ironing board propped up against the wall. Checkout the photos for the bathroom you have to back into and the cheap foldaway stool and piece of timber screwed to the wall workstation. In an annexe across the car park (in a storm) Duty managers attitude was that It is what it is and what do you expect for the price. We have a new client in this area but I won't be back and neither will anyone who works for me. Usually like Best Western, especially plus as good value but do feel cheated here

I stay for business at the Aston Hall Hotel. I always find everything from the booking process, checking in, food, room to be of the highest standard. The rooms are so comfortable and they have thought of everything you might need to ensure a comfortable stay. The staff are very professional and yet also friendly - I certainly will be staying here again - A* from me :-)

Needed a one night stay close to Doncaster / Sheffield. Close to the M1, good location but also not too much road noise. Couldn't hear any from inside the hotel. Hotel is lovely. Well maintained internally. Bedroom's surprisingly nice. Warm, cozy, large, very plush bathroom / wet room. Food was decent. Service v friendly. Nice surroundings. Can't fault this place, moreso given the price. I would recommend.

I stayed here for three nights recently, I didn't eat breakfast at all so can't comment. However, I had supper one evening in the bar - it was good, if unremarkable, but I was grateful that they cooked my tagliatelle al dente. The decor is a bit effortfully modern but is nice enough for all that, and it does look freshly minted and very clean everywhere. I can's say I'd pick it for my holidays, but I'd happily stay there again if my work took me to that part of the world.

We stayed overnight after a wedding. Lovely, clean room with happy approachable staff. The room had everything you could need including an ironing board an iron and hairdryer.The breakfast was a buffet style, all fresh and plentiful.

We stayed here with friends. We were in the new wing. Easy to find, nice looking building with pleasant grounds. Our room was good, comfortable bed and plenty of room to walk round in. Large bathroom - we had a wet room. Very good but had to be careful after showering as you can slip on the wet floor so if you are not very steady on your feet - not a good idea. We ate in the restaurant - you can either choose from the bar menu or the restaurant menu. Very good and well presented. Breakfast was also enjoyable - with a good choice. Staff were all very pleasant and polite.

Stayed overnight following family wedding. Wedding venue and food were both excellent as was our accommodation. Hotel grounds and gardens ideal for wedding photos. Our room was light and spacious with very modern bathroom and the air conditioning was very welcome with the current heat wave. Would definitely recommend.

My niece and I had a one night stay July 21 st to July 22 nd we could not fault this hotel in any way My niece and I had separate bedrooms which were spacious and clean with plenty of towels e t c in our bathrooms The Staff were friendly, efficient and obliging As I am slightly disabled there was an entry to the hotel at the rear so I did not have to 7negotiate the steps at the front entrance Once inside there were lifts to take one to bedroom accommodation on different floor levels I had stayed there previously with my daughter and found that the high standard of the hotel then has been maintained Definitely recommend Aston Hall Hotel

Lovely hotel and grounds, pleasent staff, would be happy to stay there again. The only thing I would say is that I booked a twin room and got a double. Luckily I was with someone who didn't mind sharing!

We stayed for 2 nights whilst sight seeing in the area, Friday and Saturday. It is a lovely country house hotel, with friendly professional staff. The room was a nice size though the bathroom shower was small. There were weddings on both evenings and the noise of the disco on the first night, reverberated around the restaurant and our room on the second floor. Thankfully the second wedding was much quieter. Breakfast had a good selection, the evening dinner menu was adequate.

Stayed here for two nights. The hotel itself is very nice. Staff nice amd helpfull. Good breakfast and bar. We had dinner in the evening and it was good. Enjoyed the stay. It was quiet around. The room was good and clean. Great towels!!! Don't see very often proper large in size towels. The bed was good and comfortable. Due to the weather i had small tower fan in my room. It was a good idea to put these in the room. Really helped with the temperature. Highly recommended place.

Beautiful place in the heart of the countryside Aston Hall is a fabulous venue for all ages staff are helpful and friendly. The prices you pay is for room only so meals are not included also the cost of your beverage will be a shock, I paid £14.50 for a double brandy I needed it after paying that amount

Our son and his lovely bride were married here yesterday. We arrived the day before,and were treated by a lovely receptionist,who quickly checked us in. The standard rooms were spacious and very clean,with good air conditioning a huge bed,and bathroom with a bath and shower over it. The towels were soft , fluffy and big ,,also there were toiletries too. Breakfast was really nice too, plenty of choice,and nice and hot. On the wedding day everything ran very efficiently ,the staff were really helpful especially the manager who was really attentive to detail and the guests.too. The day was a big success everything ran smoothly, the food was delicious and plentiful, with very friendly staff. Thank you everyone at the Aston hall hotel for giving us an unforgettable beautiful day.

First visit for a view years. We stayed in the luxury room and have done every time. The room is very spacious with modern decor and a comfortable bed and benifits from a glass celling with remote controlled shutters. The bathroom is very spacious equipped with a free standing bath and shower cubicle. The breakfast is really nice with lots of choice. The only recommendation would be a new carpet which was damaged a few years ago and has yet to be replaced which is disappointing considering the price of the room.

From our first contact to the last with everything in the middle, this hotel was simply excellent. With great friendly staff, large comfortable rooms, excellent food in a well priced restaurant and a lovely breakfast prior to departure, I could not fault it. Like most business travelers, i hate hotels as they are normally unfriendly, uncomfortable and expensive and rarely return;It is very unusual for me complete surveys. I am happy however to endorse this Hotel and will return.....

Really convenient just minutes from M1, yet you'd think you were miles from anywhere. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. And fantastic value for B&B, with our daughter staying free on a really comfortable put-up bed. Decor possibly a tiny bit bland/dated but fantastic value and quality service far outweighed.

We stayed on way back from Durham university,hotel is conveniently situated just off motorway,roomd we had were in separate building next to main hotel and were really lovely,rooms clean and modern with spacious well appointed bathrooms,we made use of the outside areas which are a lovely place to relax in the sun with a drink,ate in restaurant in the evening with the food quality being very good,all staff friendly and welcoming, would recommend stay here as price reasonable for standard of accommodation

I booked a Sunday Lunch at another hotel and despite confirmation the booking was cancelled last minute. Because it was a Birthday of one of the group it was amazingly kind of Aston Hall Hotel to fit us in. The meal was first class and the staff were excellent. We tend to be a group who indulge in good natured banter, hope we didn't offend anyone. True what they say you can't top the best and that meal was the best. Thank you Aston Hall Hotel.xxxxx

My stay here in the Trow room was excellent. Food, service and the room itself were all spot on, and the location of the hotel is relaxing but convenient. Lovely country location & grounds albeit work being carried out on an extension to the east of the building, saying that it didn't effect my stay. Pleasant staff, smooth check in. I was in the West wing, my room was very nice...large and looked recently decorated or just well maintained. Good TV, good wifi, big comfy bed, black out curtains, air con & heating, big wardrobe with safe & ironing board. Bathroom was clean & had a decent shower (over bath). Dinner in the restaurant was Good & reasonably priced albeit not the biggest choice. Breakfast was good too, cooked to order full breakfast plus other cooked options, the scrambled eggs were nice & fresh not the usual dry offerings hotels usually dish up. I would return when in the area again & would recommend.

First time stopping in this hotel, rooms were very spacious and the beds were comfy, and very large, had a wet room so when you had a shower the toilet got a soaking from the over spray. Breakfast had a good selection of items and catered for most tastes.. Only blemish was the fact that there was a wedding party on both Fri & Sat nights so music was playing until 12.30 ish each night. Wife is a very light sleeper when away from home. Would recommend to ask for a room away from the party goers..

Great value two mins from the M1. Friendly knowledgeable local staff. Will definitely stay there again. The only reason for giving 4 stars rather than 5 was the current building work which was taking place.

I booked a superior room at Aston Hall for a night away from the kids for my wife's birthday. upon arrival the hotel looked amazing Check in was great too. We went to our room (Trow) to relax before dinner but found there to be a banging noise similar to a ball being bounced this continued for a couple of hours and was giving us both headaches so I went to reception to complain. The loverly receptionist could not explain the noise and did try to move us but to no avail. at dinner in the hotel restraint we noticed a swingdoor into the kitchen that would be directly below our room so after our meal I told the receptionist I thought this could well be the cause of the noise and was told the restaurant closes at 9:30 so should be quiet after that but sadly it wasn't. we got a couple of hours sleep and went home more tired than we had arrived P.s the room could of been cleaner aswell

I booked the vanquish function room for a 50th birthday party. Great communication from rebecca and abbie when booking and sorting the food, very accommodating no matter how many questions I kept going back with. The staff here are some of the best I have seen in years, nothing was too much trouble, they were polite and friendly. The food was lovely everyone agreed we had a set 3 course meal. The room was stunning the views were stunning and it made it such a special day that we won't ever forget. Thank you.

Great location close to M1 but with a rural setting, lovely terrace for enjoying a post work drink in the sunshine or a gym should you need the extra workout. Always have a great nights sleep, aircon in rooms if needed and lots of pillow I keep meaning to avoid the cooked breakfast for the healthy option but fail every time as the bacon is delicious

Great location near Motorway but out in the country side but a great view. Check in great staff so good, room so good stunning views out across the hills on one side. The food great and staff in there great Bar was great but they try to be 5 star London Park Lane but they miss it sorry guys. Clean and great all round my advice when they tell you room get very clear instructions on way to the room location. Some building work but nothing to concern you and the guys are so good. 3 days which were so good

The staff were brilliant and so welcoming. The room was fantastic and an absolute pleasure. We had a lovely weekend break and the hotel was the icing on the cake. The location is so handy but the setting is just lovely. The food was delicious and very good value. We enjoyed every minute. And a personal thanks to the Manager (Gavin?) We visited as two couples - the men playing golf at nearby Lindrick which was fantastic the girls having a little retail therapy at Meadowhall . The hotel looks great and the staff could not be friendlier or more helpful . Rooms we had were large and very clean . Bathrooms are large wet rooms and very good . Bar is reasonably priced . Breakfast was excellent and freshly cooked . Everything pipping hot . It's ideally situated 9 miles from Sheffield £15 in a taxi . I think it warrants more than the 3 stars given . Great value for money and well worth a stay .

My wife and I booked a mid week stay with friends and we chose two standard rooms for two nights. Our friends room was named Featheredge and our room Harley apparently (after cutlery as the hotel is near Sheffield) We were both very pleased with the standard of decor, comfort and cleanliness of each room. All of the staff we came into contact with which includes reception, bar and restaurant were professional and friendly and in my opinion work well as a team. Both my wife and my friends wife are very particular about cleanliness and noticed that cleaning staff are in evidence wiping down hand rails dusting and generally keeping the hotel up to standard . Evening meals were of a good quality, well presented and reasonably priced and served in good time. Breakfast was also very good value well cooked and provides plenty of choice. Breakfast is thankfully cooked to order rather than buffet style which means it is tasty and fresh whether you are an early or late riser. The hotel has a gym with a good selection of equipment including machines and loose weights . The house is situated in easy reach of the M1 and provides plenty of car parking space and as it is within its own extensive grounds afforded a quite nights sleep well away from any traffic noise . A surprise that this hotel is only ranked 3 star . We found the hotel good cloice within easy reach of the Peak District National Park Chatsworth and Hardwick House. Wi fi was free without pesky codes and worked . Service , Sleep quality , Cleanliness all excellent .

Recently dropped in for a last minute dinner in the restaurant on Saturday evening, and despite them holding a wedding at the hotel on the same evening, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We were shown to a table in the bar where we ordered drinks and then were escorted into dinner. The meal was superb and very good value for the quality of food. Went down nicely with their newly introduced gin cocktails! Olivia in the Restaurant and Natalie in the bar were particularly friendly and helpful, thank you. Definitely plan to return again.

Booked this stay after a disappointing stay at another Best Western Hotel the previous week. This stay was absolutely fabulous. A warm welcome at reception greeted us and lovely friendly staff behind the bar and waiting outside. Afternoon Tea was the best i have had - and i do like my afternoon teas! Too much to finish in fact Booked The Tempest Suite in the Darcy House. Very nice room and exactly what we were looking for - the only criticism is its looking a bit tired - Deep purple carpets throughout the stairs and the room were unfortunately looking stained and the silver chais settee was quite marked and scratched. However overall a lovely stay and would return

Stayed here for one night with work. From the minute we arrived the staff from reception through to the bar were amazing. Genuinely friendly, welcoming and fun. In a stroke of luck we had two of the large bedrooms which were huge with king size bed and couch. Food was amazing too. Thank you everyone:) Awesome job

Held my mums 80th Birthday Party in the Gondola suite, large spacious room and the staff could not have been more helpful. for reasons beyond everyone's control the reservation had to be cancelled twice but the hotel held the price and went out of their way to hold the event for us, excellent.

Went to George Michael tribute night here and decided to stay was best decision we made was really nice. Staff were great room was fantastic couldn't fault it thinking of going back July for ABBA night. A+++

We visited as a group of couples for a George Michael tribute night and had an amazing time . The food was delicious, the act was fantastic and definitely good value for money . The hotel itself was lovely and clean , our room was very spacious, modern and the bed was really comfortable. The bathroom was a wet room , again spotlessly clean , the only slight negative was the weak water pressure in the shower . We would all definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others .

Was only here for one day and one night for a wedding but it was a very nice hotel, the food was excellent so if the everyday guests get that same quality then they are very lucky people. The room was a decent price and had a nice view as well. Would happily use again if in the area.

We booked Aston Hall for my daughters wedding a year in advance, and by virtue of many visits thought we had covered every base regarding arrangements and themes for the wedding weekend. During the build-up some of the party became a little anxious which is to be expected, though we were to be reassured constantly all was under control and every detail would be attended to. Every minute detail was evidently catered for, and from guests arriving on the Friday afternoon until breakfast on Sunday morning the Bride and Groom, family members and indeed all guests remarked upon the wonderful location, professional management and extremely courteous and efficient staff during the course of the weekend. The food was a delight and once again mentioned by a multitude of guests as being first class, from the canapes upon arrival, to the main meal, then evening buffet and Sunday breakfast all items being exceptionally well presented. David ( Hotel Manager ) and Holly ( Wedding Planner ) provided professionalism of the highest order and ensured all ran smoothly over the weekend and every request no matter how minor was attended to accordingly. As father of the bride i would have no hesitation in recommending Aston Hall to future events such as this. We have also eaten there recently and can only speak highly of the food and service...all five stars throughout. Many thanks once again David.

We came with a wedding party for the full day and evening, the service, food and rooms were excellent. The bedroom and bathroom were very big and decor to a high standard, we would definitely recommend this hotel

Went to a tribute night and stayed b&b. Changed the rooms 3 or 4 times before the stay, nothing was a problem. Greeted by a very friendly lady, who took a picture of our group dressed up. Food very nice, served good and fast. Wine was expensive but expected. The George Michael act was ace and good disco after. The rooms were spacious and the beds were comfy. Wish I'd known it had a bath would have arrived earlier! Breakfast very nice, good choice and the full English was hot.

We stayed at Aston for a late Valentine's Day treat, the room was beautiful unfortunately the noise of the wedding that was taking place was unbearable- shouting outside in the early hours and we didn't feel comfortable sitting in the bar as it was rowdy and lots of drunk people. Restaurant food not great and breakfast even worse.

I cannot praise the staff enough. From the planning of the party right through to the actual night. Everyone was pleasant, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The party was great and the room was Lovely. Man thanks

We visited the restaurant on our 40th wedding anniversary, in fact we have visited the restaurant many times over the past 10 years and have always enjoyed the food and service. On this last occasion the food was very disappointing I didn't have a starter my husband did of sardines on toast. He said it was ok ish. I ordered sirloin steak £20.which I thought was expensive but it was a special occasion, it had no flavour at all and to be honest was very disappointing . my husband had cajun chicken he felt the same about his meal. In fact he left half of it As previously mentioned we have visited the restaurant many times before and have rarely been disapointed on this occasion we most certainly were. On a posative note the staff are excellent friendly and very efficient, including the bar staff and reception.our waitress was first class It cost us £50. For two main meals and one starter Not a fourtune but it wasent Worth it Sorry won't be returning any time soon.

I booked a 1-night stay for work in a single room. For the price I was hugely impressed with the quality of my room and the bathroom was brand new with a walk-in shower. Everything I needed was in the room, wardrobe, safe, hairdryer, kettle and hot drinks facility. The small gym was just next door, very clean and the machines fairly new. I was really impressed and had the whole gym to myself for an hour. For the price this is one of the best hotels I've stayed in Chesterfield. Thank you.

Enjoyed a 2 night stay at Aston Hall whilst attending a wedding. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfy. Staff extremely friendly, especially the housekeeping ladies who constantly welcomed me as I passed up and down the corridor leading to my room. Breakfast was adequate. Maybe abit more imagination with the choices of continental, bigger pots of tea and a better, less tinny sounding CD player in the breakfast room. The wedding itself was probably one of the best I've been to. Food was amazing. For the wedding breakfast I had goat's cheese crostini followed by Cajun chicken and finally sticky toffee pudding . The portion size was large and all 3 courses tasted delicious. During the evening we were treated to a plentiful hot and cold buffet, again good quality. The function room was large and well decorated whilst the staff continued to be attentive until the early hours of the morning . I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone considering booking a wedding venue in future.

Had a lovely time at this hotel for my Aunties 80th Birthday. But found the bar wasnt big enough for the amount of people staying at the hotel if there was an event on. Also the breakfast wasnt much to write home about. Set up in all different areas to the restaurant - in corridor and in the bar! Would also be better if it was help yourself and not dished up for you! The evening meal served in the restaurant was beautiful. All of the staff where lovely.

Stayed on business but delighted with the hotel. Room and bathroom were good sizes, and the food in the restaurant was excellent. Breakfast was a bit hit and miss with no-one on hand to explain how you got tea, coffee, etc., but it was very busy with an overnight wedding party.

Had a brilliant night stay here for a wedding. Friendly and helpful staff would stay again. Breakfast wasn't hot but overall good. The heavy snowfall made it a magical place to be. X looking forward to going later in the year

We held a surprise retirement party in the banqueting suite on Friday evening. Staff were on hand from early morning to help set up the room and were extremely accommodating , nothing was too much trouble. The night was amazing. Great hotel and brilliant staff. Thank you for helping make the night so special.

We are currently staying at the hotel whilst we have work done on our home. This hotel is not a 3* hotel ...this is an amazing establishment with top of the range staff and amazing facilities. It feels like more top of the range 4*/5*. The food is amazing and the beds are the most comfortable i have experienced in a long time. The staff have bent over backeards to accommodate us and make us feel welcome. Everyone is bubbly and friendly and always smiling. The staff make this place and we couldn't thank them enough for everything they did to make us feel welcome amd relaxed. A special thank you to Sarah on reception who only started a few days before we checked in.... an amazing lady who will be a wonderful asset to the team. I have never known such a wondeful amd friendly team of people who honestly couldn't do enough to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Thank you everyone. Claire, Neal and Samuel :-)

I booked the mother's day afternoon tea with prosecco for my wife, we had a lovely time, it was great value and nice food. Will look forward to booking again next year. Also all mum's were given a little pot flower as a memento which was a nice touch.

Stayed for three nights in February. Lovely hotel, spotlessly clean, large spacious room with everything i needed, nice and warm and cosy too. Staff very helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Will definately stay again.

Modern and spacous rooms, hotel is very close to motorway and 15 minutes from Sheffield town center, staff could not have been more helpful.I have two small issues, first was the dinner served with the room booking was very limited, I just wanted a nice harty meal, I wished I had'nt book with dinner and got dinner seperate the burger looked fantastic. second was the bed in the room - horrible, saggy matteress well pasts its prime so I did't sleep well, overall I would come back to this hotel again but would not stay in the same room

Good Points; - Close proximity to motorway - Efficient reception staff Bad Points; - Shower in bathroom . Why do some hotels try to be all fancy ? This room had a wet room. I would call it a “ dribble room” difficult to get wet in the shower here! - restaurant food . Apparently the meal in the picture is lamb ? Looks disgusting and tasted the same - £16 for the pleasure. Not for me I'm afraid.

Just had lunch today at Aston Hall restaurant and we were highly pleased. It was for a 60th birthday -6 adults and 2 small children- and we weren't disappointed. Everyone was very welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. The service was top class as was rhe food . We all had the 3 course menu and it was delicious - pleased with the children's menu too. All staff were very discreet and professional . We thoroughly enjoyed it Thankyou so much . We will be back and will recommend to others

My family and were frequent visitors of the hotel as my wife is originally from the area. We used to stay with the hotel each time we visited her family (probably four or five times this year). We had noticed over recent month's that the service has gradually deteriorated over time. However, we have always stayed here and it is a stone's throw from my Wife's Mother's house so it was convenient. During our last visit (Christmas) we experienced the worst stay we have ever had at the hotel. This matter, although denting our confidence in the hotel, could have been resolved either during our stay or even shortly after. However, it was not dealt with appropriately and I feel that others should be aware. You will see from my other reviews that I am very fair and not a 'serial complainer'. I do however feel the need to voice my frustration when receiving a lack of service or care. List of issues experienced during our two night stay include: - Upon check in at 7pm (my children's bed times) we arrived at our room to find no cot and no z bed (as booked). Although the lady from reception was extremely apologetic and spent the best part of an hour trying to source them. By this time our children had found their second winds and were awake until after 10pm. - The floor in the room was dirty, which isn't great when you have a baby crawling around. We were too busy worrying about the beds to complain about this and we assumed the mess would be vacuumed in the morning. It was not. The rooms floor remained completely filthy for the entire duration of our stay. - The sheets on my sons z bed were covered in what looked like sick stains. We of course requested these to be changed, which the receptionist sourced for us and my wife put on the Z bed as I erected the cot. - The bath plug did not fit the bath. The receptionist gave us another plug but this was also not a fit. This meant we were unable to bath our children properly during our stay. Showering a baby can be tricky when you aren't used to the water temperature and pressure. - On the first evening we used one of the drinks glasses in the room to give my son some crisps in (from a share bag). Obviously it was greasy afterwards so we left it out to be cleaned or replaced by housekeeping. The following night, when we got back to the room, we found that the glass had simply been turned back over on the tray - Unwashed. - None of the biscuits were replaced on the second day. This is a small point but my 5yr old always looks forward to seeing what biscuits are on the tray during our stays and this is just another thing to add to the list. I'm listing it not to be picky (I wouldn't complain about this had it been the only thing not to happen during our stay) but to provide a complete overview of our visit. - The breakfast on both days was served luke warm (at best). The food has gone completely down hill since the hotel stopped taking cooked food breakfast orders. They now operate a buffet which is badly run, infrequently replenished, and offers little choice to guests. - On the first morning I requested a fried egg (as they don't provide these generally - only scrambled) and was told that one would be bought to the table and that I should be served up the rest of my breakfast and make a start on eating it so that it didn't get cold (colder). The fried egg, albeit a very good one!, arrived after I had eaten everything else on my plate - some 15 minutes later! - I requested a fried egg the following morning and was advised initially, after the waitress went into the kitchen to request one for me, that it wouldn't be possible. I accepted this, although mentioned that I was provided with one the day before. Whilst waiting five minutes for the bacon to be replenished, I was told the chef had misunderstood the original request (Can I have a fried egg please?) and that I could in fact have one. By the time I got the egg my family had already eaten their breakfasts and my daughter wanted out of her high chair. We were under the impression, from the receptionist's comments during the saga upon our arrival, that we were having our first night taken off the bill for all the trouble caused, which we accepted. However, during check-out we were advised that it was only my sons z bed that was being offered as a gesture of good will. Frankly, one of our two nights provided complimentary would be the least I would have expected given the lack of service we received. I requested to speak to a manager at this time (checkout) but was advised that no duty manager was on duty? The same as our first evening when the receptionist was the only person going out of her way to try and help us get settled in. No Duty Manager would certainly explain the issues we experienced, and the general service levels of the hotel, if employees are being left to their own devices. We were then told that we had no choice but to pay the full amount, as nobody could authorise anything (partial refund/refund) for us. We were given an email address for the Duty Manager to voice our issues and were led to believe that a refund would be offered. In this email I listed the issues (as above), what we believed we were being offered (one night refunded), what we were offered (a complimentary z-bed), and advised that if we didn't receive at least one of our nights reimbursed as an acknowledgement of the issues experienced, we would not stay again. I also advised that if I didn't believe our complaint was being taken seriously, that I would leave a review on Trip Advisor. At this time, meeting our request would have been acknowledgment that the hotel had taken the complaint seriously, and had every intension of dealing with it (internally) to give us the confidence to return knowing these things would put right. Despite my request for a partial refund (as what we felt was a fair solution given the issues listed above) David Fort, Duty Manager, had other ideas. Mr Fort emailed me back with a generic apology and offered my family a favourable rate to return. When I responded to advise that this was not how any customer should be treated, never mind regular ones, confirming that we wanted a partial (one night's stay) refund in order to restore some faith, Mr Fort declined this request. At this stage, I forwarded our email chain to Best Western (BW) Head Office twice receiving no response. It appears that BW have no respect for its customers either with not even the courtesy of an acknowledgment. Eventually, some week or so later, David Fort responded to my response to his initial offer email where I had advised that we would certainly never stay with the hotel again and that the only reason I paid the bill was because a duty manager was not available (apparently) assuring that I would not have been paying it if Mr Fort, or another manager, had been there to take my complaint in person upon check-out. This time, Mr Fort offered us a £50.00 refund (approx half a night's stay). Mr Fort advised this was his final offer and to be honest, I had had enough of wasting my valuable time trying to make him see reason. Therefore, I accepted the offer and the money was transferred into our account after a few more days of waiting and chasing. Despite the fact that we have spent literally hundreds of pounds (ourselves) staying at the hotel over the years and my Wife's family often meeting us to dine and for drinks, Mr Fort/BW believed that a £50.00 refund was an acceptable resolution. - Completely short sited Duty Manager - Deteriorating standards (in need of decoration) - Extremely poor customer service (from 90% of staff) - Unclean - Poor food We will be staying at a premier Inn in future.

Went with family for the new year arrived early and we went and had a drink and a sandwich in the bar staff were helpful the food was great I had a ham sandwich which came with home made chips we had four rooms between us they were all big clean and comfortable they its an old house and some of the rooms are up a lot of stairs there is a lift to most of them ,dinner started at 6 30 pm for a drink and canapé the room looked amazing and the food was fantastic couldn't believe the size of the fillet steak there was a DJ on playing during the meal later there was a singer on doing Motown and Diana Ross covers she was very good I'm sorry but cannot remember her name it was a very good night at one am bacon sandwiches were served I was told they are good but I was in bed by that time ,next morning there was a buffet breakfast which was very good had a really good evening would go back to Aston hall

Hotel is really nice. Stayed for 1 night to relax with a friend. "double" room was 2 single beds pushed together. Room phone didnt work, so had to walk back to reception for room service. Small things but important all the same.

Only booked due to the location and accessibility, what a pleasant surprise. Stunning building and greeted in a beautifully formal manner so missing these days. EXCEEDINGLY well appointed rooms with unusual (impracticable?) wet room shower / bathroom. An experience not to be repeated but there are other options. Staff lovely and welcoming in the bar and restaurant, pleasant evening snack. Breakfast was an event and suggest you go for a run first to build your appetite. Great produce presented well, perfectly cooked to order and enough for two! Left with a rested sleep and fully recharged for a long drive home... thank you all!

Excellent hotel, Wedding function went smoothly and was just perfect for the size of party. Meal and buffet were both good standard and the bar service excellent. Room was great - go for one of the more expensive named rooms they are large and well equipped. Ours had a bath in the room in addition to the en-suite. Breakfast cooked to order and very nice.
