So much to do...4 pools 2 bars (a pub with bands and caseys bar and grill),and surrounded by many other businesses including walmart, just about every popular fast food joint and amazing Italian food restaurants like Giovanni's (was told it's the best in town, and there is lots of Italian restaurants in the "Soo"
A first class hotel, with very polite, accommodating staff. Excellent facilities, including salt water pool, hot tub sauna, onsite pub and restaurant and nice breakfast included. Only stayed one night on our way through The Sault, but could easily spend a few days there.
This was the first time we had stayed here and glad we did. The hotel is large and is wheelchair accessible if you need it. The lobby is large, nice swimming pool area with a sauna and hot tub. They also have a hot tub outside which has a nice waterfall to look at. The restaurant in the building is Caseys and the menu was plentiful. Breakfast was included and was served in a smaller part of the restaurant. Check in and out was fast . Would definitely stay here again. One strange thing that I found was that there was no safe in the room for valuables.
We went to take the train to Agawa Canyon. The hotel was able to set us up with tickets and all the information we needed. The staff at the front desk gave us tips for the ride as well as making our stay very enjoyable. The rest of the staff (housekeeping, restaurant, lounge, pool attendant) were pleasant and very helpful. We will be back next fall for sure.
This hotel is very nice. We were on an Agawa Canyon Bus Tour and when we arrived the staff all came out to the lobby to welcome us. Very friendly and helpful. The room was really clean. There was Starbuck Coffee in the room. A little fridge. The bed was possibly the most comfortable I have ever slept in and the pillows and sheets were really nice. We came in late and the staff in the restaurant still let us order and didn't rush us at all.
The Water Tower Inn has so much to offer. Excellent service, restaurants and our room was very nice. The hot tubs and pools were a delight to relax and unwind. Thank you for looking after us we enjoyed every minute at your hotel.
This hotel has everything. Really impressed with the sauna. It was hot first thing in the morning. 7am and all day long. The hot tub outside was a very nice touch. In the bar we had music all weekend long . The food was great. Just wished I used my CAA card. The buffet ends at 10am. Missed it one day. Having too much fun. Cheers
This is a nice hotel however, in my opinion, suffers from lack of complimentary breakfast considering the price of a room. It's great on amenities if you're looking for a spa / relaxing experience. Good food at the downstairs restaurants and well located for multiple fast-food options. Decent distance from downtown Sault Ste Marie. Friendly staff.
We stayed with our dog in room 117 on Sept. 23. A couple - with their dog - entered with a key from the front desk and were embarrassed and apologetic. Luckily we were decent! On asking at the desk how this could have happened, I was mainly told "These things happen" (with no apology), even though we have never had this experience in years of hotel stays. We were a bit apprehensive for the rest of our stay. The room was fine, except the bathroom door stuck, a table lamp would not turn on, and our keys did not work later. Given the emphasis on "BW Premium", "resort with pools, etc.", and the rates (especially the steep pet fee), we did expect more from our visit.
We were visiting from Michigan for the Agawa Canyon railway trip. After a long day on the train we were looking for a casual place for a beer and some appetizers. We were pleasantly surprised after finding this place. We saw after entering several customers had the nachos. They looked great. We ordered them with the extra beef, it was loved by all of us( we were a group of 4) perfect amount for our needs! So many other thing looked great, such as the wings, but we had enough. Would highly recommend this place for the food and large choices of beer!
Warm comfortable rooms with a spa complete with hot tubs sauna and a pool. Good fitness area and fruit infused water in the lobby. Love the staff. Comfortable beds. Hard to choose elsewhere when this place exists
We spent three nights at the Water Tower Inn. The rooms are very nice and there are great amenities. The spa/ pool area is so nice. There is an outdoor and an indoor jacuzzi, a sauna, a waterfall and an indoor salt pool. The hotel restaurant was very nice. We took a trip on the train to Agawa Canyon and the restaurant made a great boxed lunch. Other passengers were quite impressed with our great lunch! We would go back!
We always stay here when we come to Sault saint Marie. We paid a higher rate than ever they took out CAA and said we don't get breakfast coupons because of that We have always used CAA and got breakfast coupons with a less rate. Rick is diabetic and he asked for Diet Coke and was served regular coke. The bathroom this time smelled like an out house. Didn't e mail us the $5 coupon either and I completed the survey. We are quite disappointed because we always looked forward to staying her. Richard Burke &Connie
This was our second stay here at the The Water Tower Inn, the first was in conjunction with the Agawa Canyon Train Tour. This time we stayed here September 2018 for one night on the way back from Thunder Bay, Ontario and we had another very pleasant stay. The Casey's restaurant attached to the hotel is excellent and we have had a few very good dinners here. Typical pricing for the chain and always great food, breakfast or dinner. There is also a Starbucks coffee shop in here that can provide all manner of snacks, box lunch's, coffee, tea etc. for you on your travels which is super convenient.
Our stay at this hotel was amazing. The bed was excellent and we both had a great sleep. We took in the entertainment in the Pub and enjoyed a snack and a beverage. The experience at the Water Tower was a positive and relaxing.
Great place to stay. Good shopping area Good rooms and meeting rooms. Wonderful amenities. Fabulous restaurant in hotel any many other good restaurants walking distance and very near. Handy shopping areas nearby as well.
Excellent facility, clean, bright, well maintained with a great restaurant, pool and hot tub. A fine getaway or reward for a long days traveling. I would definitely put this on my list as a place to visit when traveling across Canada.
I traveled extensively in this area before we retired. This hotel was always the go to place to stay in the Soo and I stayed there many times over the years. Although they've made nice changes to the lobby, etc, I think they should have spent money on the rooms. Don't go cheap on mattresses and pillows. Of all the hotels we've stayed in on this trip the room in this hotel was the worst and the most expensive. We try to stay at BW Plus at least, when we're travelling and found no problem with the other hotel's beds. The best way to turn customers off is to feel a cheap mattress under them and a lumpy pillow at their head. Next time we're in the Soo, think we'll look for other accommodation.
Overall excellent rooms, solid breakfast, but most impressive is the staff. The entire team I come across engages in a few extra words and check-in/out, and everyone in the hotel says 'good morning'. These added touches are fantastic for people like me, who travel frequently away from home.
I suggest that with pet friendly places you find out the type of pet the guest has. I had a cat with me and got dog bowls and a dog placemat to use. I would have been happier with a cat bed, blanket, or treats. Also there was no fan in the bathroom which made the place humid.
If you are stopping in the Soo, it's conveniently located on Hwy 17 with lots of shops and food nearby and quaint Queen Ave just a short drive away. Hotel has very nice courtyard and fun Club Cabana pool area for both kids and adults. Buffet breakfast (included) was very good.
We stayed at The Water Tower Inn at the beginning and end of our Lake Superior Circle Tour. A great option especially with indoor motorcycle parking. One of our party also needed to leave a car for the 8 days between our stays. Not a problem at all.
The hotel was ok but 6 vehicles were broken into at night including both in our group. If you are pulling a trailer i do not recomend this hotel. Trailer parking is unsecured and dark. We were lucky that the thiefs only took change in the cup holder but smashed the windows. I spoke with the officer taking the reports and he said that this happens allot. The staff said its rare. Who do i believe. It was a bad start to a trip. Again this is not he place I'd stay unless you want to meet a ste saint marie police officer . They are very professional.
My experience with this hotel, for last 40 some odd years has always been excellent. It was nice to look forward to what I expected.... great stay, quality staff, and great facilities. Really well maintained, clean, and comfortable.
If you've ever been to the Sault, you'll know that unless you have a plan, there is really not much of anything to do. So, in our down time, we watched TV...or at least we tried to watch TV. For our 4 night stay, the TV was shutting down and receiving no signal for 3 days/nights. We called front desk multiple times, told the cleaning staff and finally a maintenance man came and he confirmed what front desk confirmed...that this was a cable and/or television problem. We were told by front desk it was an issue specific to our room. It never got fixed, replaced or truly repaired. When we checked out yesterday morning around 8:30 am, we told the woman at the front desk that the issue never got resolved. She said..."Oh that's too bad...sorry. We hope to see you again." Do you really? I mean, we very patiently spoke to the hotel over and over and over again, had multiple people tell us it's the TV and/or cable but no one really did anything about it. If you need just a place to sleep, go for it. If you need a place to reside for a few days, I don't believe that this is the best place to be. Simple amenities are difficult for the hotel to resolve. We would think that a hotel of this reputation would want to leave guests with a feeling of...I'd like to come back here, this was great. We left with the feeling of...it's not the hotels' problem, sorry about your luck, but do come back so we can take more of your money in the future. The Water Tower Inn failed on client service. If the woman who checked us out managed this issue better, we would have likely had a much nicer review.
The Watertower Inn experience was very good. Great customer service, room was exceptionally clean. Buffet breakfast was included in my stay. The restaurant staff was very attentive and the buffet was good. Although if you didn't want the buffet there were 2 other options that they had...1 being grab and go from Starbucks and the other was ordering off menu. The later had a fee attached to it.
Stayed there 3 times now. Not a bad place. Lots of free parking - it's needed as the restaurant gets busy on weekends. Staff works hard on being flexible and accommodating - generally good attitudes. The breakfasts are good. Hotel rooms are generally clean, though they did miss one item I left between days, and it smelled the room up. All in all no major complaints considering it is what it is - there's not much choice in Sault Ste Marie or 300 km in either direction.
Room was nice. Cost of dining at Pub was ridiculous. I glass of juice was $5.50. I toasted piece of bread was $2.00. A cup of coffee (terrible) was $3.00. You can only have either a cup of coffee, tea or a small glass of juice for breakfast....anything else is an additional cost. Amazing the prices they charge for a simple meal which, in all other hotels, is included in room charge (which is not inexpensive).
The water Tower in Sault Ste Marie, just an awesome place to stay. It has all the amenities, restaurants, lounges, pools , hot tubs inside and out. Rooms always spotlessly cleaned everyday and the hotel staff are amazing always greeting me by name.Totally recommended place to stay.
I was warmly greeted by christi and what a wonderful experience it was. She certainly has a customer approach on how she treats guests. Many hotels would benefit from such great customer service. Staff like her should truly be treasured as a great aset to the business. I will be back again and i hope yhe service and room we get will be exavtly the same a truly wonderful stay.
Nice hotel...good amenities. Pools were clean and pool area quiet and relaxing. You can have a great experience without even having to leave the location. Food, relaxation, entertainment, fitness!Live bands were a fun extra!Good experience for price for sure!
Great big room and bed. Great service. Very clean. Very nice restaurant. Highly recommended. Will be coming back. Staff where helpful and friendly. Parking was a little tricky but we managed to service.
The staff are always friendly and caring. Rooms are bright and clean. Makes being away from home so much more pleasant. The restaurant and bar are great places to eat and relax. I will be returning many times. Thank you for everything you have to offer.
Absolutely love the Water Tower Inn! It is definitely one of the best hotel's I have stayed at. I travel quite a bit for work and frequent Best Western's and this one is top notch! The staff is always friendly and pleasant to deal with, location is perfect with many amenities in close distance, rooms are clean, and best of all is the pool and hot tub areas. My only recommendation would be to modernize the rooms a bit. Overall I would absolutely recommend this hotel and can't wait to get back for my next stay.
Whenever we are in Sault Ste. Marie we always look forward to staying at the Water Tower Inn. They have an amazing package deal with the Agawa Canyon Train Ride that we have taken several of our friends on. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. We love the pool area especially the outdoor hot tub.
We stopped here for the night because we didn't know what the border would be like in the morning and we had a long day ahead of us. Turned out to be a great idea. This is a very nice BW and we were treated like family. Maybe better. There is a restaurant located at the hotel just off the lobby. We got our complementary breakfast there. Great for the night before for dinner also. Service was fantastic and the room was large.
The hotel manager, Beverley Barber went out of her way to welcome us ,even before our stay at the hotel. The front desk staff are very customer friendly and offered advice for the Canyon Tour. The restaurant chef exceeeded our expectations by cooking and serving tasty special breakfast.overall, the trip was very relaxing and a grand success.
Absolutely fantastic place to stay, shame we only had time for one night here. Beautiful clean and well presented hotel. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and the food available was excellent
For the month of July the Water Tower Inn has been my home away from home. The staff and management are absolutely wonderful. The food is exceptional and they are so accommodating. We host our conference there on a regular basis and the site, meeting rooms, and are great. The staff always goes above and beyond to make sure that everyone has a pleasant time. Thank you, and keep up the great service
We had a wonderful experience at the Water Tower Inn. The management and staff was extraordinarily friendly and accommodating, the room was very comfortable and spotless, the menu was diverse and the food always excellent. The spa was beautiful and spacious. The little touches of fruit water and cinnamon roll samples in the lobby were nice touches. They orchestrated our three-day Agawa Canyon visit perfectly. This stay was among the best hotel experiences we have had. If I were asked for suggestions for improvement, I honestly would have none.
Staff were excellent and greatly assisted with an early check-in to acomodate pets. Will definitely stay again as enjoyed our stay and meal at the restaurant. Some small points, kids running on upper floor until 11:00 was very noisy. Bathrooms need a fan to remove humidity. People smoking at outside hot tub. All in all a great stay. Once again front staff are top notch!
The Water Tower Inn has a good reputation and it was my first stay. When you first drive in it is hard to know where to go, working on signage. A little different than the other premier's I have stayed at but it has the amenities to get the designation. I was on business so didn't get a chance to use the pools or hot tub but they looked very inviting. Convenience of restaurants and good food (plus Starbucks) was good for business. My diamond status didn't get recognized until I saw my room and called down to ask. I will try again on my next time in town as it is in a great location!
Room was great. Bathroom was tiny. Breakfast was terrible. Teacup size bowls for cereal. Bacon soggy and eggs cold and dead end of the pan Dinner at the restaurant was delicious. Server was terribly slow and painfully forgetful. How did this place get to be a Premier?
This is a lovely Inn. The entire hotel is clean and welcoming. Staff is friendly and helpful. Location great. The Inn offers a free breakfast and if you miss it there is a $5.00 coupon towards breakfast at the pub/ grill. Definitely would stay again!!
I wish this place was better advertised! We stayed downtown at the Quality Inn thinking, by the waterfront is better. The Pub at the Water Tower Inn was great! Our server, Charlie was very welcoming and made sure we were always attended to!!! The live band was a bonus!!! If you are visiting the Soo, at least visit the Water Tower Inn for the pub and the live band!
Wonderful hotel and restaurant. Pool and hot tub areas very clean and inviting. The outdoor hot tub was quiet and clean. Only downfall was our King bed. We sank in the middle and it was unstable with too much movement when you tried to change your position. Not comfortable at all. If you have aches and pains insure you request a firm bed. We were exhausted after a 10 hour drive and needed a good sleep. Next time maybe.
Nice place to spend a few days. Needs improvement in wifi, as we were kicked off constantly. Chemicals in pool extremely high. Hot tub fabulous Had to exchange room key x 5 times , locked out of room. Staff were very friendly.
We had a good stop here on our way to Thunder Bay. Very clean and close to the highway. Staff were very nice. The beds in the room were firm. Also loved relaxing in the pools and hot tubs, but chlorine levels were high, needed a good rinse after. Close to a lot of restaurants, Metro, gas.
We stayed at this Best Western on our last night of a 25 day trip from Niagara Falls, Ontario to Victoria BC and back, by car. This was definitely my favourite hotel, due to the wonderful and relaxing outdoor hot tub. It is set in an area with a fountain, flowers and bushes, and a tranquil atmosphere. The water was crystal clear and just the right temperature. The room was also lovely, with clean comfy sheets and pillows (I hate the flat pancakes at some hotels!). Thank you!
Excellent suites, lots of space for the family to stretch out. Enjoyed the pool so much we booked a second night. Staff were helpful and accommodating, especially since we had to move rooms booking our second night last minute. They set aside a room for our second night and made it very easy to move from one to the other. Room service was fast and friendly. Only one hiccup - our server forgot cutlery with our breakfast delivery. No big is, since we had some of our own.
Grandkids and adults had a ball at the outdoor hot tub and the inside hot tub and pool. Room was fully serviced and great staff at reception and housecleaning. Wonderful value for our dollar. Delicious fresh cut up cinnamon buns at the check out desk . Yum. Thank you and we will come again.
they put us in room 117 with pool and spa outside our window . could not open curtains because people would look at us , it was noisy all day and night till 10 pm when they closed that area .went to sleep and at 11:30 pm a group of people were laughing and yelling in the spa area.i banged on the window and they took off. i told a worker about it . the so called buffet was a joke . they had only scrambled eggs and bacon and home fries . no juices at all or pancakes ,hot water for tea was only warm . my friend told me there was no juice and waitress budded in in our conversation and got real defensive. hotel never even apoligized for the noise . not a good stay for my first time there . remember to avoid this room .
Easy to check in and check out, modest price and great rooms. The stuff is so friendly and courtesy was nice, I was expecting nothing less from a best western chain of hotels. Rooms were clean, bathroom were spotless, the size of the rooms are big enough for a family.
Staff was friendly and room was incredibly clean and nice. It was awesome having separate air conditioning for the living area and the bedroom. Pool area was huge and very well kept. Although, the pool was on the cold side.
We stayed 2 different nights at the Water Tower Inn in Sault Ste. Marie, and both times were excellent. We were greeted in very friendly way, our check inn was flawless, and the room was everything we could ask for. On the return trip we were looking forward to our room, and were very surprised after speaking to the check in staff, that they upgraded us to our previous room which had a larger bed, and that made the trip even more special. There is a Pub and a Grill right in the hotel, so there is no need to travel anywhere to get your meals, as both offer many varied menus, at good prices, and both were plentiful and tasty.
We love staying at this hotel. There is a Casey's Restaurant and a Lounge/bar attached to the building. It's very nice to sneak off to the bar for a nightcap without having to walk outdoors. We travelled with our pets and we love that this is a pet-friendly place. The staff are all very polite and look professional. Love this place.
We drove from NH to MN through Canada and picked this hotel from the internet with no further info. We arrived after a day of driving and were so glad to be able to use the pools and get a lovely meal at Casey's all on site. We had our dog with us and the dog friendly rooms and nice , with bowls and treats for the dogs and a dog park a couple of minutes drive away. We loved it so much we came back on our return journey!
First stay at this inn. First off there is no sign identifying it as a Bestwestern from the outside. The room was a disappointment. Bathroom very small with a very narrow countertop... almost no where to put anything down. Hallway going to the room smelled of strong cleaning agent. Definitely not a place I would expect for a Bestwestern. On my return trip, I choose another motel with much more pleasant results
The staff were very good and Tim was helpful at check in. It is not the usual standard for Best Western Plus hotels and the room was really dated. There was no where to sit comfortably for the evening. The web site advertises $20 pet charge, however here it was $30.I paid three different amounts for three nights in three Best Westerns
We decided to stay here because it is a Best Western. I don't know why it is a “Premier” not the same as others we have stayed at. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly. NO included breakfast. You had to pay $5 each for breakfast. You could either have the buffet or put the $5 toward a meal or Starbucks pick up. The buffet was the worst we have had in all our travels. No choice, minimal amount of fruit. OJ was extra. Scrambled eggs, bacon and potatoes every day. Save your $5 bucks and go across the street to one of the fast food places. Cannot recomend this hotel.
Excellent hotel have stayed here many times and staff are friendly and pleasant very clean convenient easy to get to. Found the bed a little uncomfortable maybe because it was only a double not sure, but would not be a reason not to stay in hotel again.
Excellent customer service and beautiful hotel . However the view of the back of the hotel was not good to look at . I will visit again in the future . The pool was beautiful but did not had time swim .
Seriously the ONLY place I will stay in the Soo! Awesome hotel, nice comfortable rooms and extremely helpful staff!!! With a choice of two restaurants in the hotel it makes for consistently good food also I will be back .
I really enjoyed my stay at the Water Tower Inn Best Western Plus in Sault Ste Marie. It is pretty easy to find with the big tower standing up high although driving through Sault Ste Marie with so many turns is a bit confusing to travelers. My room was very clean, comfortable and quiet. I loved the deep spa tub after a long day driving. The staff was very cordial and helpful.
Stayed here for a work trip to Sault Ste Marie and this place was the highest rated in the area. The service was good and the staff was very friendly. There's a Casey's in the same building if you want an easy meal but it's also close to a lot of restaurants if you are interested in other food. It's only 20 minutes away from the airport which is pretty convenient. There's also a pool which seems very popular for people who aren't staying in the hotel. Overall it was a pretty nice place.
Ask for the Country Comfort room. It's a 2 room suite with 2 TVs and a super comfy bed. You also have a nice sized living room. The bathroom. OMG. It's huge. Separate room for the toilet a 2 person air tub that works very well to ease any aches or pains and a glass enclosed shower with a rainfall shower head and a wand on a hose and 3 powerful wall jets that will erase any back pain. And a dual sink counter and huge mirror. Heated floors too. The room is impeccably clean and the room service is fast and great food too. I'm impressed with the water tower and I'm convinced this is probably the best hotel in this city and will rival hotels in many other cities as well. Great stay and super friendly staff.
request a suite if one is available, great locale, food and live entertainment in-house pool and hot pools always nice to enjoy after a day of work. rooms are clean and they are upgrading and renovating to make further improvements.
It was a very busy check in the day we arrived I loved our little goodies pkg we were presented! The hotel amenities are fantastic and we loved the breakfast options as we are not really earlier risers to want breakfast as soon as we get up so the grab and go option was perfect for those that don't want to eat early! We used the gym each day we stayed and they had great selection of equipment and all in good order with a selection of tv's for viewing while doing your workouts! The room was comfortable and clean, the only knock we had was that the bathroom vanities are quite narrow and small not a whole lot a room to put the toiletries. The staff were all quite pleasant that we saw coming and going and in the restaurant/coffee shop during our stay. The pool and hot pool with the garden area are a nice feature of the hotel. We would definitely stay again and would recommend to other travelers.
We were really pleased with our stay at the Water Tower Inn. I have never slept in a more comfortable bed! Clean and quiet. I liked the step-in shower as opposed to the standard bathtub that I never use. Even the in-room coffee was first class. Staff were very friendly and helpful at check-in, the dining room offered a variety for any taste and breakfast was first-rate.
I stay here frequently for business and I am always pleased with the experience. Wednesday's are great because there is a fantastic blues band playing in The Pub. The gym and pool are obviously great, I also enjoy the large bathtubs in the
We probably wouldn't stay here again, we arrived and the front desk lady was very friendly, checked in no problem with my dog. We go into our room to find out it isn't our room and already has guests in it. Not only awkward for us but for the people inside the room. We go back to front desk and she was friendly and sympathetic for her mistake and quickly found us another room. This room ended up being on the interior directly beside the outdoor hotub, which ended up being noisy for most of the night when our original room was on the exterior. We also didn't get the complimentary pet dishes cookies and poop bags that were supposed to be in room. I called and they delivered some which ended up being dirty. We then discovered the tv did not work, back to front desk. They sent someone to look at tv and they said the sleep timer was probably previously set( doesn't explain why tv wouldn't turn back on). An hour after that was fixed all the channels on tv were choppy and kept pausing, at this point we were to exhausted after a long day of travelling to complain anymore so we settled in for a long restless noisy night. In the morning only one package of coffee for a single cup was provided for two of us, and the shower pressure was so strong that it felt like your skin was peeling off (although better then some hotels where there is no pressure) While checking out I was not asked how my stay is nor offered any sort of compensation or complimentary breakfast for our troubles. I wouldn't pay the price we did for this hotel again when we had a much better experience up the road at super 8. Overall a disappointing experience for us personally when we had such high hopes and recommendations for this hotel.
Recently our family had to grieve my husbands final days in the ICU of the Sault hospital. Due to an extremely generous arrangement the management has made with the hospital we were able to spend those days at the Water Tower Inn. From the bottom of our hearts we thank you for offering us a safe, clean and extremely comfortable refuge. While most hotels offer a pool and hot tub, the Inn has both indoor and outdoor hot tubs, a great swimming pool, a waterfall pool for children and a sauna. . It was in those that my grandson, too young to comprehend his loss, spent most of his time. That in itself was invaluable. Attached to the Inn is Casey's bar and grill which offers excellant food, drinks and entertainment although we did not spend much time for business or pleasure trip it would be great. So to management and your very friendly kind and compassionate staff, THANK YOU
Charged me $800 deposit for room for 1 night. Then I waited 3 days to get it back on my card. Ridiculous. Will think twice next time for sure. Room was nice. Room service was good. Just not impressed with the huge deposit.
Our ages ranged from 14 to 80 years old, there were 18 in our group and The Water Tower staff impressed every one of us with their pleasant, professional style. The Hotel Lobby is a very comfortable, spacious, attractive setting for group gatherings, the restaurant food is exceptional - and you can buy vouchers to offset the price of breakfast. The rooms are clean &standard and even the smallest requests were dealt with quickly. The Water Tower is very centrally located - and a straight, easy drive from the Airport! Some of our party were delayed but the hotel voluntarily extended their reservations.
The Water Tower Inn was a wonderful place to stay. The staff were friendly and cheerful. The salt water pool, sauna, and outdoor hot tub were outstanding. We slept SO well, and enjoyed wandering through the courtyard and listening to the murmur of the fountain. Will definitely look for a reason to return to the Sault, just so I can stay here!
On my way home from London Ontario the water tower inn is at a great location and has great restaurants for the traveller. the room was very comfortable had a good rest up for great breakfast ready to be on are way
This hotel is certainly not the newest kid on the block but is well maintained and at about the right price point for what you get. They are one only a couple of hotels in the area that allows pets and at an added cost of only 30 bucks it's a great deal if traveling with your furry best friend. There is an indoor pool, whirlpool spa and sauna as well as outdoor whirlpool. All pools are saltwater. Casey's is the restaurant attached to the hotel as well as a Starbucks. There are also plenty of amenities and shopping nearby. Nothing negative to say about this hotel.
Room was clean and comfortable, the spa/pool and exercise areas were as well. We enjoyed the variety at the restaurant and felt it was good value for the money. Staff were courteous, and interested in answering questions. Its our pick when staying in Sault Ste. Marie
Have stayed here about three times in the last 6 months. Never disappointed. Great staff, comfy beds and restaurant is great. Very well situated near all major routes. Would recommend to anyone for business or personal.
Came for a nice evening but very disappointed - pricey and over-rated (darn, too and bad there is no 1/2 star) - outdated - old run down walls, carpets and furniture - too many kids in the pool and hot tub, entire pool area overflowing with people - not so friendly person who checked me in didn't give us a very nice room so I don't like her, and the only nice person was the guy giving out towels at the pool.
Was here for business. Welcoming front desk, clean and comfortable rooms, sufficient breakfast, attached pub & restaurant with good tunes, good beer, and food. Free parking. Easy to navigate the location. Highly recommended.
Th2me water tower is an older hotel but still has some of the best amenities in Sault Ste Marie. The pool hot tub and sauna makes it worth the stay alone. It is located to all fast food and businesses such as Walmart Best Buy and Staples. They have a great gym and a fairly good restaurant as well. Happy with my stay!
We chose this hotel because of the brand & it didn't disappoint. Great hotel, friendly and efficient staff in all areas we used. We booked our return trip before leaving. The room was clean, the restaurant was so convenient and food was great.
Good stay. Very well located. Friendly people at the front desk. Nice breakfast plan, very affordable and a good option for guests. Gus the shuttle driver is a winner. Looking forward to the next visit.
If we had time to enjoy what this hotel had to offer I am sure our stay would have been fantastic. However we are just passing through so all we could do is eat an afternoon lunch at the bar and then sleep. The room was very nice but both of us found the bed to be too hard. We were up a lot and we had soar backs and necks in the morning. HOWEVER that is just us and I still highly recommend this hotel especially if you're in town for a few days. Great staff and things to do during your stay.
We stay at Water Tower inn when we ski . They always do a great job. The staff at Casey's AM staff particularly MARYLYNN and ALEXIS! Very professional and do job well - very personable! Thanks you two! Dave and Sarah B really appreciate you! Food is also VERY good . Healthy and not drowning in grease. Love the Starbucks coffee every morning also . Keep it coming!! We will be back .
Had a most wonderful dinner last night. My husband is very picky when it comes to ribs and he could not stop raving! I had the planked salmon and loved it. Our compliments to the chef!!!! The staff was friendly and we were thrilled to meet the owner of the Water Tower as well. He came to greet us as we were leaving.
I went in to get coffee and as I was waiting in line and it wasnt busy and I was on no rush had lots of time to waste, the Barstia Jamie I do believe her name is was awesome. She must have known the person that was in front of me and they were talking. That person step out of my way for her to take my order and I talked to both of the they were super nice. Well the other person was running late and went put in her stuff for her coffee. I had left and gone to sit down when I over heard a manger talk about them. As a manger she should not be talking about customers or empolyees the way she did.
Had great food and great service. The atmosphere here at the inn is nice, makes me feel right at home. Thanks Charlie for being such a great server! I really enjoyed my experience here at the Water Tower Inn.
We stayed there early January just as the pools were being closed for refurbishment so I can't comment on them aside from saying that they looked awesome!. The hotel is nice, clean, and close to commercial areas (not the Station Mall or the Algoma Central Station though). The room (310 I think) was spacious enough and clean. The bathroom was great and the heating system performed nearly silently which was appreciated! I have no issues with the hotel and I would definitely stay there again but...there were no USB ports for charging devices, in 2018 this should be a given, and the beds were double. I don't recall an option for queen when booking and if they exist I apologize but I would think that queen beds should be the norm. I really liked the hotel but would like it even more with these minor tweaks.
Everything about this hotel is great, from the shuttle driver to the breakfast buffet. The staff are all extremely friendly and they treat you like friends. The hotel feels almost like a small resort and it is nice to just walk around it. The gym is much better than many other hotels I have been to and although the pool was undergoing maintenance, I cannot wait to return to enjoy the heated outdoor pool. I look forward to staying here again.
We are travelling with our yellow Labrador and the staff at The Water Tower Inn went above and beyond to be accommodating. First of all, this is a lovely hotel with friendly front desk staff who answered my multiple dog related questions with grace. The room was comfortable, clean, had a dog bowl with dog treats and had a window that opened for fresh air- bonus! Even though it was a cold day out it was nice to get a bit of air in the room. After driving from North Bay we just wanted to stay in to eat. There is a pub that has good reviews and so I asked the front desk staff if we could sit by the fire in the reception area with our dog and order the pub food and we did. Everyone went out of their way to accommodate us- thank you Carrie H(sp?). The pizza is absolutely delicious, the salads very fresh and my husband's burger was perfectly cooked and quite tasty. They had Heineken on tap and all of this in front of a lovely fire - perfect! Tip: Breakfast is $5.00 for a really great buffet. Thank you staff of The Water Tower Inn!
Recently we had a family dinner in the Pub at the Water Tower Inn. The staff were friendly and very accommodating and the food was very good- especially the fish and chips as well as the wood fired pizza. We would recommend this as a good choice for reasonably priced food and great hospitality!
I have been staying at the Water Tower Inn whenever in Sault Ste. Marie for over 30 years. The quality of the hotel, their service and the availability of services (restaurant, pub) has been consistent. In my opinion it is the best place to stay when in Sault Ste. Marie.
Stayed at this hotel while taking the nearby Agawa Canyon Train tour. All staff was very friendly, knowledgeable and eager to assist promptly. Very good to have use of taxis, since we had no vehicle, to the downtown Sault, as well use of the shuttle bus to the airport. Great convenience having choice of either Casey's restaurant for a full meal, breakfast/lunch/dinner, or the Pub for drinks/light snacks, within the hotel building. Didn't have time to enjoy the pool or hot tub but heard they were wonderful. Only 1 shortcoming which contributed to a not so good sleep - pillows on the bed were very poor. Only after sleeping on them we read a small note in our room stating that we could ask for an upgrade if preferred. The bed was very comfortable though. Hotel is far from downtown Sault which was costly in several taxi trips over two days. Cab fares added significantly to the cost of the hotel.
Stayed here for business for several nights and would return despite a couple issues. Room faced the outdoor hot tub and loud/obscene voices/laughing carried very clearly to upper room area. Thank goodness it closes at 10pm. Window in the room, despite being closed, was very drafty with almost a cold breeze coming through ( along with the yelling from the hottub)..on the last night, the room heater decided to vibrate like a jack hammer and blow cold air at 02:00am..ended up turning it off. Room itself was clean and nicely decorated; nice bathroom, comfy beds.Would be a nice touch with a heavier duvet to go along with the thin white sheets on the bed during the colder months. A covered roof area at the east entrance would be nice during rainy days and nights when you are trying to bring suitcases in etc. Hotel is very convenient to amenities, shopping, restaurants within walking distance.Nice lobby with warm fireplace going. All in all, decent enough.
Traveling with pets, there was a sudden scrabble as we entered the room. Both dogs spotted the water dish and the 3 dog biscuits at the same instant. Nice touch. The room was great with a side entrance nearby. For other non pet travellers the amenities make this place a nice resort. Just a nine iron away from hwy 17 and right across from Tim's.... it doesn't get better than this! We'll be back.
This hotel has a huge entrance way that captures the eye when entering the building. The staff were quick to help so check in and out was a breeze. The rooms were nice and clean and there is a restaurant attached to the hotel so that you do not have to leave the building once you have checked in. This is so nice if you are tired after putting in a long day's drive. This restaurant is also available for breakfast the next morning.
Great hotel. Beautiful hot tubs and great staff. Really recommend this place. Has a Starbucks and 2 other restaurants ! Great price rooms feels like a resort !lots to do in the area restaurants, movies, casinos
Only stayed one night as we were headed elsewhere and had to stop before running out of hours. Nice place. Nice restaurant with a complimentary breakfast buffet before 10:00 AM. Nice rooms with comfortable bed and nice amnesties. Wifi was pretty good as well. Across the street from Walmart if you need anything and several fast food restaurants also. Didn't indulge in the pool or hot tub but this is a nice place.
I said it before and I'll say it again, the staff at the Inn is the best! I stay at the Water Tower quite frequently and can always expect to be well taken care of. The rooms are very nice especially the Suite's. There's always something happening in the Pub like live bands covering different genres if your looking for something to do at night. The Pub also has a huge selection of beers to choose from, the Superior 55 is a favorite of mine. The breakfast brunch is very tasty and pairs well with a coffee from Starbucks. You do get a voucher for the breakfast brunch.
Excellent reception! Nice outside hot tub! Close to many restaurants. Clean & hospital hotel staff Ok breakfast included! Would surely return on a future stop over. In house bar with live entertainment is also pretty cool!
The Water Tower Inn was easy to find, and executive room was comfortable (king bed) with all the conveniences. Now part of Best Western Premier Collection, so you can get points too. Parking is free, onsite restaurant (Casey's) and hotel bar with entertainment.
Great place, great staff and the hotel was exceptionally clean. Had breakfast and dinner in the restaurant and the staff was great. This was the only Best Western hotel that offered me my options based on my point status.
Overpriced!! Not even Kleenex in the room! Arrogant front desk personnel. You can find better appointed and beautifully decorated rooms and friendly staff, with a full hot breakfast for less money down the street at Quattro ... they will not disappoint you.
The room was clean and the bed were comfortable. These were considered standard for a big hotel chain. The highlight for our stay, was the use of the pool facilities. We arrived a bit late in the evening but managed to get ready for the pools before they were closed. The experience of using the outdoor whirlpool was great especially when we emerged ourselves into the hot water in a cold Autumn night. One should, of course, not to expect that it resembles the experience of a Japanese hot spring.
It was just fine as we weren't spending much time in our rooms although they were very clean and comfortable. The buffet breakfast was cheap at $5 but not very classy or attractively presented. It's on a commercial strip and not near the downtown shops or waterfront so its necessary to drive to get to more interesting places. Pros and cons but it served our purposes for a couple of nights.
We have stayed at this hotel many times....generally once a year when travelling back from Banff, AB to Brighton, ON. The rooms are great and beds very comfortable. We always have a great dinner here followed by breakfast before we leave early in the morning for our final leg of our trip home. We highly recommend The Water Tower Inn.
We had a really good 3 day package deal. The hotel is spotless, pools nice and staff excellent. Restaurant staff Alexia is a gem. She Calmly but quickly manages all tables almost on her own. We watched as one other waitress staff seemed to disappear constantly. All the while this other one had the morning rush under control. We saw her name on a plaque for employee of the month. I hope everyone there is aware and appreciates this gal. Multi tasking efficient , mannerly staff is hard to find. The food was really good too.
The hotel itself is very nice, Plenty to do at the facility without leaving. What I did not like was the Shuttle service to Airport was not 24/7, and there is a fee. Even thou on Expedia, Obritz say they are 24 /7 they stop at midnight and do not start till 6:00am. So if your flight is international at 6:00 am you need to cab it. The front desk person, says well thats not are fault. FYI if a customer is not happy, you do what you can to make them happy. Will I stay again doubtful.
This hotel was our first stop on our trip to Vancouver B.C. It was clean, staff were helpful. They Had a Casey Restaurant on site which was a bonus as we had travelled for a lot of hours The front desk staff were very helpful and friendly..however I did not enjoy that they spoke in their own language as part of an inquiry..I am related to emigrants and the rule has always been to try and not revert back to the mother tongue when speaking with those who do not understand...in respect if even one finds it necessary it is appreciated when they apologie for the action
After a 5 hour drive in the rain, I was warmly greeted at check in and in no time I was in my room with my feet up enjoying the fast wi fi. A bit later, we were in the lounge for a salad and nachos with a cool beverage and listening to live music. Nice end to a long day.
Great place to start the Circle Tour of Lake Superior. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The bar staff gets two thumbs up. Pizza was the best I've had in the Sault. I would go there just for pizza.
Great hotel! I liked the service, front desk is 24/7. Room was clean and bed comfortable. Caseys restaurant on site. Conference rooms were clean and modern. Overall nice place to stay. Great place to host an event.
This Winter Tower Inn is located in the central part of town and within walking distances to shopping, restaurants and LCBO.. We spent two nights on the 12 and 13th of September, 2017 in Room #207. The room had two queen size beds, very comfortable, clean and spacious, with complimentary Coffee/Tea and a small fridge. The gym is better than some of the hotels I have visited in the past. There is also a restaurant and Sports bar on the premises. The portions are fair and the prices reasonable. Service was good and prompt. The Inn puts on some entertainment on certain nights of the week, as well. They have an attractive looking swimming pool. which is quite appealing to have a dip, i.e. if you have the time to indulge in this form of relaxation. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful.
Stayed here on my way passing through Sault Ste. Marie, and it was a very pleasant visit. Friendly staff, good location, and reasonable price. There is a Caseys restaurant attached, as well as a bar. Nice pool, clean rooms, and a central location if you are just passing through. Will stay again.
Easy check in and check out. Staff were friendly enough, room was spacious and the bed was magnificent. It has a Caseys restaurant attached to it where we ate dinner and breakfast. I normally don't eat at Caseys as I don't particularly like pub food but I was too tired to drive anywhere else. The highlight of the hotel is the pool and the indoor and outdoor hot tubs. Nice treat after a long day on the road.
The rooms were very clean and pleasant as we're all the services. The 3 day package they offer was nicely priced and staying here kept us central to most things. The beds were super comfortable and although we leave our pets home we were really happy to see it was pet friendly.
We arrived at hotel with a bus tour. our luggage was promptly taken to our rooms. We were pleased that the entire staff were at front door to greet us. The rooms were great wonderful comfortable beds. We enjoyed two nights here and not a complaint
I chose it only because I should receive points. I should have, could have stayed much closer to the Algoma Train Station at another hotel. As a Best Western member I had hoped for an upgrade. I booked this trip over 3 months in advance. The room wasn't quite what I expected, the colour palette was disappointing and not at all pleasing. I did however like the view of the tower that changes colour at night. The room needs to have a printed television channel guide so one knows what channels are what instead of having to constantly revert to the menu and memorize them. I have no idea why my bath towel wasn't replaced, the bath mat was. I travel a lot and know that when a towel is in or on the tub (not hung up) it means change it. The pillows were too soft. Usually hotels will supply a medium, soft & hard so a person can pick from them. The air vent in the bathroom needs a good vacuuming. As an asthmatic, I notice these things. Although appreciated, there was only one robe in the closet, good thing I was a lone traveller. The free buffet breakfast was pretty good actually. A bus was always parked behind my vehicle, perhaps they could wait at another entrance ? Cigarette stink right outside the lobby is very, very off putting. The south elevator on the 4th floor down light doesn't work and I believe the elevator only arrived if you pushed to go up. No free newspapers, neither local or national like other BW's. Close to highway #17.
We very much enjoyed our stay at the Water Tower Inn. The staff were very pleasant and responsive to any requests, and the king room was very comfortable. The hotel location was excellent, close to the highway and many restaurants and shopping. We also enjoyed the Pub, restaurant, and room service.
I would stay here again in a second, the staff were so friendly and helpful, the location was incredible making that trip through Northern Ontario even that much better. Breakfast options were awesome food was very good, only wish I was staying longer on this trip, highly recommend this hotel.
Great location next to the intersection of Hwy 17. This is an older property. Public areas and rooms are well-mainted but bit old fashioned. Quiet rooms. Hotel has a pool, tubs and a restaurant. Friendly staff.
We arrived at the hotel late at night, front desk staff were busy assisting a few customers. When it was my turn to check in, I feel like the staff was too tired and couldn't even do the usual pleasantries. If you guys collect points, you need to remind them to add it, as well as to ask for breakfast voucher (for certain level of member), wifi password. Otherwise, the room is clean and comfortable with great amenities.
We really enjoyed the pool and hot tub. The breakfast was reasonably priced and the waitress even got me a tea to take with me when we left. The room was clean and comfortable. I would recommend this hotel.
Rooms are very clean , great staff . The pool area is a very great spot to either relax or just have a good time with family , you cant go wrong with the choice of a hot tub indoors or outdoors along with two pools and a sauna , my kids love it . We look forward to going back
The Staff was Very Friendly & Helpful The Room was a little small but very clean & Décor was good. The Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was very good and there was lots of it however they didn't let you have a sausage if you had the Buffet but displayed it anyway. The Bar was nice and had food as well if you didn't want to sit for a full meal
Super comfortable bed. Bathroom had chic modern amenities. Good pillows. Plenty of free parking. Pool area was very nice. Friendly staff. Peppermint shampoo and conditioner was delightful. Would stay here anytime.
Very nice hotel with all the amenities. Especially enjoyed the outdoor hot tub and Starbucks. Breakfast is not included unless you are at a certain level of membership. There is no sign outside that indicates that it is a Best Western Hotel.
We enjoyed a very pleasant stay at the Water Tower. The outdoor hot tub was very relaxing, the sauna and swimming pool were refreshing, overall cleanliness and appearance was well above average. The only small drawback was a poor view toward the back of the hotel on a derelict business. Thanks for a great stay.
Many of the periphery amenities are quite attractive here. Multiple pools, court yard, fountains, Casey's restaurant connected to the lobby. The rooms however are quite average. Not particularly well equipped and the beds were marginally comfortable. What stood out for me though was the lack of information from the staff. At a recent stay at another Best Western, our rewards account was automatically updated when we checked in. After our check-in here, I went back to the front desk to ask about it and found that it had not been done and would not have if I hadn't asked. Also, there was no mention made of a complimentary breakfast upon check-in but my later inquiry uncovered that there was, so if I hadn't asked, we would have never known. The breakfast system was a little different as well. Rather than the self serve breakfast buffet one usually finds at a Best Western, it was served in the restaurant. We were very unsure of how this system worked and it took a while before our standing around looking lost elicited some help. As well, when we were finished we were surprised when a bill for the breakfast was dropped off at our table with no further comment. Again I had to ask in order to find out that we didn't need to pay the bill. A little more communication please!
I was traveling for business, so I did not have an opportunity to experience all of the amenities. The pool and restaurant both look fantastic. The hotel was clean comfortable and all of the staff that I dealt with were very pleasant and friendly. I will definitely go back again and bring my family!
Got a good price on TripAdvisor, room was fine, beds comfy and fast wi-fi. 2 choices for food and a lounge make for a good place to stop when travelling by motorcycle. Would absolutely stay here again.
Nice clean rooms, good linens and bedding. Good air quality and no pet smells. Pillows could be better. Good shower and tub. No Microwave. Small fridge without freezer. Lots of towels. Perfect location for travelers to Hwy 17. Good rates.
I stopped at the Watertower for the night on my month vacation. My room was clean, and my server in the restaurant was great. Unfortunately the environment was less than to be desired when eating late. We were tired and just wanted a quiet dinner when we heard swears from the kitchen and a ladies voice yelled out some profanity about chicken. I don't want to repeat it but I feel that in a such a nice hotel I would have a expected a more professional behavior.
This hotel is Best Western Premiere. This is the best hotel we've have had the pleasure to stay in seven weeks. Not to mention just the multiple pools and spa. Many areas to sit and relax . They have live music in pub and several places to eat. The staff are all trained to a level not even matched by Delta which was the hotel ee stayed in last time in the Soo. Delta was exceptional but the whole package here is better. The prices are very reasonable. The scenery around is not great but close to the city center .
Great stay at the water tower, but I ordered room service and as the title states. So he said he would be right back but he came back with his cart which tells me he did other deliveries instead of finishing my delivery first. I ate my steak and sawed at it with the butter knife to eat it and could drink my pop till i got a straw. He was 20 minutes getting my steak and straw. For a $54 one person meal, I expected better and the kid got hit $7 tip before telling me he forgot the straw and knife. Everything else was dandy though.
We loved this hotel, although we only stayed for one night. The room was nice, clean, hotel grounds were lovely, great place for breakfast, too. It's not too far from the St.Mary's River and the Locks. We love to walk along the River. We would definitely stay here again!
The hotel was fine, I would stay there again, but the leaking toilet flapper caused the toilet to flush all night, and in all fairness, I did not report it until we checked out in the morning, as I figured it wouldn't get fixed throughout the night. The room was fine, the breakfast was fine. We had the buffet. We were only there for an overnight, between Thunder Bay and Oshawa, so it did us just fine.
This is clearly a premier property on the Canada side of Sault Sainte Marie, which is safe and easy access to many night life activities. It is a bit of a distance from the USA crossing and you need to check your directions for driving and other activities if you are unfamiliar with the area and thoroughfares!
A stopover on way home after a long trip. Hotel was very nice, clean and rooms were above average. Did not use the pool area as we arrived late but checkin was without problem, parking secure and rooms very nice. Ate at the restaurant at the hotel and it was just fair, would not recommend for price. To many good alternatives near by but it was late and we were tired.
Highly recommend staying at this hotel.... it's lovely... comfy beds and pillows..... salt water pool and outdoor hot tub was great.....the friendly staff were so knowledgable and helpful....the restaurant attached to hotel was delicious and reasonably priced....
We were in town for a 50th wedding anniversary. We chose to stay at the Algoma Water Tower Inn as that is where the festivities were taking place over the weekend. The room we got was very spacious and came equipped with two double beds; Wi-Fi; AC; small fridge and microwave. There was also a small table with chairs and a tub chair located in the corner. Room was exactly what we required for our three night stay. The hotel comes equipped with swimming pools, hot tubs and exercise room. There is also a restaurant and a bar in the lobby area.
Rolled in around 2:30am with two sleeping kids after a longer than expected road trip. Received a discounted rate due to our late check-in as well as four passes for breakfast. Didn't use any amenities as we left first thing in the morning but looked like a great spot...outdoor hot tub would be great in the winter (assuming its open).
This was one of our favorite hotels that my husband and I stayed at during our vacation. The front desk was friendly and courteous. The rooms were spacious and clean. It's located in a safe, clean area near many activities. The only complaint we had was we never got any service at our breakfast and no compensation for our inconvenience.
once upon a time , i stayed at the water tower inn. i was NOT looking forward to it . i had heard that the carpets were swirly patterns and the pillows were subpar. i stay a lot of places all over the main belt in canada from vancouver to PEI. then i walked into the water tower, this sassy little critter with curly brown hair working the front desk, greeted me with a smile and a solid " hey , how is your day?" doesn't seem like much , however , driving the long hours i have, her asking me how my day was, was day-maker. She continued with her infectious attitude booking into my room . great experience overall. BUT WAIT! it gets better!!! after settling into my room with ABOVE par pillows , i ventured down to the lobby where the wonderful front desk attendant , whose name was Carly , sent me in the way of the pub to hear " the josh norling trio". MY GOD! that was a time. we enjoyed dinner at the pub and chatted with carly before we retreated to our rooms. she gave us a solid break down on the "goings ons " of sault ste marie. she encouraged us to hit the mill market , as well as checking out the beautiful nature at hiawatha.. also can we talk about farmer bob ?? GEM! long story short , we were sleeping over night and leaving asap, but she convinced us that theres more to sault ste marie. and now were coming back in september to check out the tour train and the colours ! not to mention whisky bar she raves about with live bands !! your carpets are swirly , but your staff is friendly 9/10 - will be back.
Have to mention what a wonderful welcome we received upon arriving at the Water Tower. Carly T was warm, friendly and genuinely happy to make our stay as happy as possible. Travelling to BC DEBORAH AND STEPH
Everything was great, the staff, the location, the pool and hot tub. The drawback is the room smelled of old smoke, despite the no-smoking policy at the hotel. Which leads me to believe they have not completed a renovation since ending beginning their smoking policy. The smell knocks you back when entering the room. At least the room we stayed in. Would be a great hotel once renovated. Will probably not stay here again unless we see they have renovated.
Epic Fail... get there early because it will not be replenished. I waited 15 minutes to be advised that it will not be replenished and had to choose another option in which I had to pay extra. The customer in front of me became very frustrated and asked for the Manager - it became extremely uncomfortable while waiting with my daughter we choose to leave and get breakfast elsewhere. Also, there is rarely someone working at the pool - it is best to remember to bring down your hotel room towel. Overall it is a great hotel - just don't expect a contenental breakfast or towels at the pool!
the hotel was clean and in a great location, great pool area and the restaurant is good.i liked the pub.room was clean and the staff was very nice.i would recommend this hotel.the parking is good.the food is very good quality.
My family and I were just passing through Sault Ste-Marie and had the greatest stay in this hotel!!! We were received by an extremely welcoming and understanding clerk and the next morning Michael even went to the kitchen to fill up our water bottles!!!! The woman at Casey's did everything in her power to make my fatigued daughter's breakfast pleasurable!!! The kids had a great time in the pools!!! Everyone went over and above to make our stay most enjoyable!!! Would highly recommend for families!!!!
A very nice hotel. Other than being listed online as a Best Western you would not realize it was one until you ask. The actual name is Algoma Water Tower inn. It recently became BW The Water Tower Inn as a premier collection. I would recommend this hotel.
Price Reasonable - Hotel very clean - Comfortable mattress - Room & bathroom very clean. Comfortable bed - Decent breakfast. Plenty of restaurants in the vicinity - Grocery store nearby. Good value for the cost. Above all, located in a great location for travellers. Hotel is right on the highway yet room is quiet. Had a great sleep after a long day drive and to be ready for another long day drive next day..
Fantastic hotel with an excellent restaurant and bar area, the pool and 2 hot tubs were great and the sauna was nice and hot. We initially booked 1 night but liked it so much stayed a 2nd night. Very helpful and knowledgable staff. Can not think of anything negative.
Stayed here 2 nights for work. It was quiet, clean and friendly. I would stay here again The restaraunt opened at 6:30 am for breakfast. That left me a little tight for time as my workday usually starts earlier than this. A 6 am start for breakfast would be preferrable.
We drove from Eau de Claire in Wisconsin to get here, as we figured after an 9 hour drive, someplace with a pool and a sauna would be relaxing. Over the top service, Pizza was good, Molson was cold. Would absolutely recommend to anyone visiting, exp from the states. Plus, Mike D was hilarious. :) Cheers!
a bit older, (they were repainting when we were there), but thoroughly enjoyed and would stay again as well as recommend. There is a salt water pool. Definitely not your typical pool area found in most places, but more resortish. There is a Pub (16 beers on tap), and Caseys restaurant/bar and grill, all connected so no need to go anywhere. We had dinner there 2 nights as well as breakfast. food was reasonably priced, presented nicely and very good. Music several nights a week. Staff are so helpful and friendly. We willcstay here again when in the Sault.
It was a quick 1 day shopping trip and although we were 4 in a double room the generous size of the room accommodated us quite nicely. We dined in house, used the pool and enjoyed ourselves. Staff was very welcoming. An excellent breakfast the next morning as well!
This was a great find! Love the pools, the Starbucks!, the location and the restaurant. The room was clean and comfortable and most of all it was quiet!!! Central location lots of fast food options across the street. The pools were never busy, well maintained, lots of towels.
Stayed one night on the way home from Toronto. Needed to find a place with parking for an oversized truck. It has easy access for parking. Had supper in the pub and enjoyed listening to the live music. There is an indoor pool and hot tub as well as an outdoor hot tub. Room was really nice, bed very comfortable. Lots of options for breakfast in the morning in the restaurant. Was impressed to see people being allowed in the pool early in the morning.
i stayed well on business. all the staff was exceptional. the front desk went above and beyond to make my 3 night stay great. the employees that realy stand out to me though are Tim at the front desk and Mars at the pub. i had a chance to have a a couple good conversations with them. i was in a king sized room on the 5th floor, it was well layed out and the bathroom looked like it had just been redone. The BED thou....... amazing, much better then almost every hotel i have stayed at before. i strongly recommend this hotel if you are in the Soo area.
First time staying here. We got to our room to find it full of dust, as they were painting and sanding the hallways. We asked to switch to another room and they were very accommodating and apologetic. Bathroom was a little tight but overall a decent room. Restaraunt was very good.
We had a lovely time at the Water Tower Inn - clean rooms, friendly check in, great restaurant. Everything was great except on check out. I hadn't checked out but when I returned to my room from an errand at 10:30 a.m. (check out is 12:00) I found the chambermaid had packed my stuff and was almost finished cleaning the room. Although the cleaner aplolgized it really left me feeling unsettled. I was in the Sault for medical reasons and was suprised to have a "tourism tax" added to my bill. I asked that it be removed but was told that wasn't possible. Shame on you Sault Ste Marie for guaging visitors who spend money in your city. I wrote to both Sault Ste Marie Tourism and the Water Tower Inn and neither has responded except Sault Tourism who said they'd get back to me but have not.
Frankly an excellent place to stay; a good location in the city. Very good restaurant, very good bar (with entertainment). Service in both places plus the inhouse Starbucks was excellent. Staff were professional, caring and clearly wanted to do well.
Stopped in for a quick dinner but had a great pizza ! Very delicious and perfectly cooked. My server Dana B was an excellent waitress, very sweet and prompt with my order. I certainly will be back for the great customer service !
This was quite a fancy hotel but the staff were excellent. The room was comfortable and the bed was very comfortable. The pool and hot tub were nice. We ate in the restaurant which was also very good.
We booked this hotel for just one night as a quick little escape from reality during the busy work week shuffle! We made the point to rent the room with the jetted tub, which was amazing. We made use of the pools and hottubs as well which added to the relaxation of the night. We made our way down to the pub for something to eat, and service was great! I would definitely stay here again.
Always very clean with super staff. Indoor and outdoor hot tub is well maintained. Beautiful to stay in the winter! The 'NEW' pub menu is a great improvement with more selection. Don't forget to enjoy the 'Kronuts' for desert in the restaurant!!
This is the second time we have stayed and I was impressed that they welcomed us with a little package of goodies and a hand-written welcome back note! The room, indoor pool, sauna, outdoor whirlpool, and in-house Starbucks and Casey's restaurants all make for a great place to hang out and relax.
Great location. Clean hotel. Good amenities. Nice having the restaurant and a pub conveniently located. Lovely room for a great price. Wonderful hot tubs and pool. Fitness room open 24 hours. Staff helpful and knowledgeable.
My husband and I booked a room for my 50th birthday. Heard from friends in Canada that they have a nice pool. I spoke with the reservations clerk who assured me that We would have a lovely room with a hot tub for 2. When we arrived, the rate was 189 per night, plus 50 per night in incidentals. We went to the room, it was smaller than our bedroom at home and a total dump. Hot tub was a bathtub with jets in the bathroom. In addition, they rent their pool out to the general public and there was a birthday party going on in the pool area with 50 screaming kids. Terrific way to spend 50th birthday. We left, got a refund, and went across the street to the Quattro, which is a much nicer hotel, with better rates. don't waste your time or money on this hotel.
I love this place! It's a very good family getaway. They have three pools in their hotel. One outdoors, two indoors (one is for children) and a hot tub! The rooms are amazing too. All in all, it's a family friendly hotel that will make the whole family enjoy themselves!
Nice hotel and services. The location is on the outskirts of the city but like many places the new growth is in the outskirts. Lots of good shopping and restaurants close by. Lots of parking and good access to major travel routes.
Service is great!! My waitress Carly recommended some great beers and paired it with a delicious fish and chips couldn't be happier Anyone coming into town or a local looking for great food and music look to this joint to do it all for you Thanks to the staff and Carly for this great experience!!!!
This is a nice clean and caring place. When I booked my stay they found out the reason for the stay and changed the rate of my room. They have pet friendly rooms. There is a aquatic centre a gym Casey's restaurant and the Pub Lounge as well as several other restaurants in the area. This is the second time I have stayed here and I will stay here again
Friendly Staff at this reasonably priced and clean Hotel in SSM. The internet is fast, the rooms spacious and clean. The restaurant is certainly nicer than in the bigger chain hotels at a similar price and the people working there make a real difference. if you are keen on extra services pool and spa make a difference
We chose this hotel as we have stayed before and enjoy the pool, sauna, and outdoor whirlpool. The outdoor whirlpool was not working properly one evening which was a big disappointment. The pool can get over run with kids. Also, the pool area offers memberships to the community, so can be busy. Don't expect that only hotel goers will be using the facilities. Also, this hotel books many large groups (youth skiers, etc.) that take over the hotel (pool, running halls, noisy in rooms, etc). They say the pool is salt water, but I smelled of chlorine even after showering. It could be that the whirlpool is not salt water. They should post a sign in the halls and elevators "no running in the halls" as this goes on all day and evening. I saw parents encouraging it, even after I let 2 moms know this disturbed my morning sleep. They didn't seem to care, so this is probably common practice in the hotel. It should be reinforced at check in or in documentation in the room that this is not tolerated and security should be checking the floors. Like I said, this goes on all day - small kids and older kids. For this reason, I will be booking another hotel during my next stay in Sault Ste. Marie. I had family staying at The Quality Inn and did not experience these noise issues.
