Best Western Marion Hotel

We stay here every year on our way to Florida. Always a friendly staff that is very knowledgeable. Fast check in, clean comfortable room, tasty breakfast, fast check-out, nice location. Who could ask for more ???? See you on our way home from Florida. THANK YOU !!!!!!!!!!!

Air conditioner and heater was broken and was told by our staff that there was no blankets or pillows available until morning was told I would receive a discount on the room for the problems never did

Considering the price point ($102) this place was perfectly fine for one night. Was the welcome warm and friendly? Not really, but it certainly wasn't rude. Things are worn out here and there, but for the most part the place is well cared for. Some would say it is outdated, which is true, but it is also a little nostalgic. It reminded of somewhere I had stayed on family vacation in the late 80's/early 90's. Overall, it was a pretty clean place as well. There was some debris and whatnot behind the beds and nightstand that need to be cleaned, but where it mattered (bed, bathroom), it was clean. Bed was tad firm, but comfortable. The rooms are small and the rooms with two beds are doubles, not queens like some newer hotels would have. Room was also reasonably quiet considering it faced the highway. Things I liked - real bars of soap (not liquid soap dispensers that most hotels have these days), bathroom has an exhaust fan which you don't really see much in new hotels, fridge did not freeze my stuff, HVAC worked well. Would I stay here again? Maybe - depends on what my budget and length of stay would be.

Quiet and restful environment. Good internet, TV and breakfast. Smaller room - Hardly room to place all baggage without using the floor. Didn't like single switch controlling bathroom fan and light. Comfortable beds. Front desk attendant a little abrupt.

• There was no operational business center. When asking the front office to print something. They don't even know how to access their own email. So, no printing capability either. • Found food under the couch. (Popcorn, gummy bears, and pretzels.) • Furniture in the room was old, broken, and outdated.

I ask that my 93 year old Mom and me be placed in a quite room . I ask for a handicap room with 2 beds (they do not have any), so I opted for a two bed non handicap room. Please make sure your not placed by pool when you ask for a quite room,. don't count on a fresh breakfast ~ all fruit was past being edible.

Terrible experience. I checked in after a long days drive in the early morning hours. The hotel was a run down below average hotel. I didn't mind that because all I wanted was a good nights sleep. The hotel was unable to provide that. The minimum standard that you can expect from a hotel is to get a good nights sleep. Housekeeping was knocking on the door every 30 minutes from the early morning hours until I checked out one hour prior to checkout time. In speaking with management regarding this, they acknowledge, that was completely unacceptable however, saw no problem with me being fully charged for the good nights sleep I was unable to get. I had checked in early in the morning, and explicitly asked the front desk person if I could be undisturbed until I checked out. I was assured that would not be a problem. I would discourage anyone from staying on the property as your stay will not be pleasant and management will do nothing other than say that they understand and really could care less because they already have your money.

The BW Marion Illinois was a very nice hotel. Everything not only looked clean, but also smelled clean! All the staff was friendly and upbeat. The breakfast was tasty and well maintained. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

this place was very nice, the pool was very nice along with the hot tub, the bed was comfortable the pillows were hard so bring your own. the breakfast was offered but i did not think it was that good, the service was very good

The room was clean and everything worked. The staff exceeded my expectations. The breakfast choices were adequate but could have been better. The location felt safe and was convenient. I didn't use the pool or hot tub but they both looked clean and inviting. Overall I would recommend this hotel to a friend.

I was graduating in Marion and wanted to make this a family get away with my daughter and granddaughters. The room was clean and spacious and service was good. Pool was open which was a plus because it was not at the location I had originally booked.

This is our choice to stay at this location. Breakfast waffles was awesome. Chocolate chips and whip cream on a hot waffle need I say more. The pool and hot tub hit the spot after a 13 hour drive was very relaxing

Rooms were same as always yet the cost raised quite a bit. Had zero service in terms of house keeping. Had to ask for towels. No one ever made the beds or anything. Breakfast wasn't as good as it was in the past. No towels available at the pool.

The only good thing about this place was the bed was comfortable. Pillows were horrible. The AC didn't work in our room and all the front desk said (when the girl was able to pull herself away from her cell phone) was that they had a ticket in for it. Why did they rent the room then? Their breakfast was awful. Eggs were cold, waffle maker didn't work but they had batter for it, coffee was empty, juice dispenser wasn't working. No help from the staff. They just kept saying oh that isn't working. We have stayed at a lot of Best Westens. We were really disappointed in this one.

Didn't seem like we received a deal for being Best Western Rewards member, only AARP member. We did not book ahead as we were not sure when we would be able to leave on vacation. Tried 2 other hotels with less expensive rates, one had no rooms, other one had computer down. We drove around and saw Best Western and knew we had Rewards there. They had 2 rooms left.

I book two rooms one with a roll in shower for my mom and a smoking room for me. Having never booked two rooms it was interesting to see the differences. My moms room had an ice bucket with no lid and an office chair that was in danger of falling apart. The room was a bit of a disappointment because online it was described as having a sitting area with 2 chairs. Since we were in town to visit family some that would have to come to her this was a much desired feature but when we checked in we didn't have that and it was the only room with a roll in shower so we didn't have any other options. My room had a better chair and a different ice bucket that had a lid. The fridge in my room barely got cold no matter what I had it set at. The light in the bathroom would randomly shut off no matter how short of a time it had been on. I also had an iron which was lacking in my mom rooms. The hot water never got hot enough and the bed in my room was awful. My room was one that could be used as an adjoining room which meant that when the guy in the room next to me decided to have a loud conversation over the phone I could hear his side of the conversation perfectly. The staff was very helpful even clearing up a booking issue that somehow led to me having 2 separate reservations for one room. The housekeeping staff really took care of my mom and took time to talk to her which they didn't have to do. They were friendly and didn't take issue with her using 3 towels to take one shower. I really can't say enough about the staff. I never got up for breakfast which but the menu looked good and more than what I expected at a hotel of that type. The ice maker on the first floor doesn't work and I was told that it hasn't for over a year.

We have stayed at the Best Western in Marion, Illinois twice returning from Arizona to Michigan via Texas. Both times we have been very pleased with everything. The complimentary breakfast was very complete and had a large selection. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are a good size and clean. The price is very reasonable. If we continue to drive to Arizona, we would be trying to spend our return hotel stay at the Best Western of Marion, Illinois. We Liked the refrigerator and microwave. An added bonus was the Cracker Barrel restaurant within walking distance. One item that was a negative were the windows. They need replacing as they are cloudy to look out of but that is a minor issue and expensive! We did not use the pool but it looked inviting. It looked clean and smelled clean.

On the way back to the East Coast I stopped here in Marion IL. It was a nice reception, the room was pretty quiet. Good to have an elevator with a heavy suitcase. The breakfast was complete with everything this hotel chain usually offers.

We made a quick overnight stop on our way from IN to LA. We arrived in time at night to get a little pool time in. The pool was a good temperature and the hot tub was great. Breakfast had great choices and was wonderful. Will definitely make this a saved spot on future travels!

The staff at this location is what makes this hotel worth going to. Breakfast was delicious and the hotel was very clean! The actual location needs a lot of upgrades and maintenance. But you will never find another set of staff members that care like these did.

Everyone encountered was very friendly. The elevator was efficient. The room was clean and tidy, but a tad outdated. Hot breakfast was standard - about the same as HIE. No DVD library or DVD player in room.

I have stayed at other hotels in town and even at this exit. This one is so far my favorite for cleanliness, value, and staff. The bed was so comfortable, too. Breakfast is included, typical hotel fare. Convenient to interstate, gas stations, and there are many food options just north of here.

Room was clean and staff were helpful. I enjoyed my stay. I have stayed at the hotel several times through out this year. I always try to stay on the third floor facing West because it is quieter. I also believe in tipping the cleaning people and other staff. I feel safe staying here.

Just passing through and had a good night sleep. Room was clean, water for shower was hot. Breakfast was the typical type of food. Big enough parking lot with lots of lights. We felt safe. Had no problems.

I stay at this hotel regularly on my trucking route. I've been staying here for over 2 years now. There are other hotels close by but I'm loyal to the Best Western because of the service and treatment I receive. I highly recommend staying here to anyone.

Staff is very courteous and helpful. The environment is very beautiful with a nice clean feel. Best food and great choice of variety for vegetarians too. Very knowledgeable staff , our server at the sapphire , Muskan gave us good information about Amritsar , especially for shopping and surrounding cities in Punjab. I would highly recommend this location to my friends and family.

The Best Western in Marion is an ideal place to stay. It is close to everything, and the staff are amazing. It is so nice to actually have my hotel room cleaned daily and you can see that the everyone at this property takes an active interest in making sure my stay was a good one.

Everything from rooms to internet was outstanding. Staff was very professional. Good location, gas and mini mart right next door. Beds were good, plenty of hot water. Nice and quiet. Would recommend staying

Hotel is due for a refresh but was clean and our room had large area separate from bathroom to allow space for two to get ready. For the price a great place for stopover stay. Odd we had nice large soft towels at check in and tiny Motel 6 towels next day. Parents room had popcorn on floor which they cleaned. Pool was closed, ice machines broken. Did not affect our stay. We liked each staff member we met and great value for overnight just need nice bed and shower type place

Excellent service and informative on my rewards options were explained to my satisfaction and understanding. The room was extremely clean and all the things I needed such as towels and soap were as it should be.

I stay in many hotel rooms for work and leisure. This was the cleanest hotel I have been in in years!!! And the staff was friendly and helpful!! Evening desk staff was very helpful and pleasant when we checked in. Room was spotless !!

I stayed here during a contracted nursing position. I always requested to be away from people as much as possible and the hotel always accommodated! The staff are so friendly, the breakfast was a plus, and I only had 1 issue with an air conditioner and I was moved rooms! The rooms were clean and fresh always, and I will stay here again in the future!

The location is great, the rooms need to be updated. Repairs are needed to heat/AC units in the room we stayed in. The window was fogged up on the inside and not at all pleasant to look at or out. The staff was pleasant and seemed to do their best. Give it a try but do not settle for less that you are paying for.

I'm going to leave this review and hoping either the hotel or Best Western contacts me, for for now, here it is: We came down for a burial service for a friend's grandma and thought immediately of this hotel when thinking where to stay as we were here in 2015 for a family reunion. Back then, in 2015, no issues, everything worked fine. LOCATION Location of the hotel is great, surrounded by stores (i.e, Walmart) and a sundry of restaurants - you wont go hungry. I recommend 20s The Hideout if you're into steak (but pricey). Right off the express way so you can get where your going quickly. OVERALL Overall, the hotel is clean and (most) of the staff are friendly + helpful. The Cleaning Staff are honest as all hell from what I saw - I left a tip out for cleaning my room only to find out she didn't take it because she did not want to assume (yes, I gave it to her as she was cleaning another room). BREAKFAST + Cook Wonderful. All great stuff you'd expect. Nice Buffet to start your morning. MY ROOM (305) Overall, it was clean ( The room looks out into the back parking lot - mostly quiet; you might see a truck or bus parked overnight; security light will come on around 730 or 8pm - will shine into room, the shades will do their best to block it out, but not much Microwave Could have used a quick wiping as I only saw how dusty is was when then sun came shining in at a certain angle 3 nights into my stay, but I never used it. Bathroom Clean; low-profile toilet, Shower cleaned, shiny, no real good place to put soap and shampoo, there s a middle shelf, but I think soap would fall right off, can use edges of tub with no issues; TOILET -- works the way it should EXCEPT loud rattling noise coming from unit after the water fills up (REPORTED - never looked at/fixed). Phone Never worked - informed at-least 3x while I stayed (REPORTED - never looked at/fixed). I even volunteered to take a working one up to my room and plug in myself. Rooms may have different phone styles. TV REMOTE (DID NOT REPORT - only watched 1 channel when I did watch) The replacement they had barely did the basics, only to fine out that my room had a "we need a replacement that will work, go out any buy something cheap from Walmart" rather than the actual Samsung remote (I know because my friend's room had the real deal.) AC/HEATER UNIT (REPORTED - never looked at/fixed) Was working 1st night we arrived, then it "broke down" - caught it self in AUTO mode, wasn't pushing out the hot/cold air to the maximum it should when HIGH, LOW settings were set. Go to the point, only way to run it most of time was to click the CONSTANT FAN button. POOL • Don't need keycard to access, its open to anyone (signs say otherwise) • Water -- GREAT temperature! no complaints there at all • Inner lights not working • Wall lights 5 units (10 bulbs) burned out (REPORTED - never replaced) - was a tad too dark after the sun went down. WHIRLPOOL (NOT REPORTED, but left info with survey) • Inner light burned out • Timer BROKEN - you can set it for 10 minutes, you can hear it ticking...BUT IT ISNT COUNTING DOWN. Major liability, IMHO So you might think I'm nitpicking, but it's not like most of these things were not reported and I was told that my repair tickets were still in the system until Sunday morning, when they were not -- as if someone wiped them from the system and I never reported anything. Was I ever offered a new room? Nope. Did I ask for a new room? Nope, because it was seen as though something was going to happen until Sunday morning when nothing was going to happen. Did I flip out? Nope. I pushed the priority of the AC Unit and was told Sunday morning that a repair guy was to be on the premises Sunday --- and nothing happened. Even If I moved, I doubt nothing would be looked into until a new guest checked in. Anyways, would I return? If improvements were made (and proven); repair requests were taken seriously, and a staffer replaced, sure I would return, as I think this hotel is great for what it is.

Friendly, helpful staff. Decent breakfast. clean except the pool wall needs scrubbed. This has turned into my go to place to stay in Marion. I like the value for price. The Marion location right off the highway is very convenient for access to Shawnee National Forest

Marion is a great facility, with an indoor pool. The facility is well maintained, rooms are nice sized and comfortable, the beds were great, and the showers had good pressure, and were clean and well lit. I'm also glad that the hotel still has smoking rooms, so my older companion could have a smoking room in the other wing of the hotel, but the non-smoking rooms smelled fresh and clean. If I have to come back to Marion, I'd stay here in an instant.

We had booked this hotel due to the positive reviews, but were very disappointed with our experience. The employee that checked us in was quite rude to us and then questioned why we had booked the handicap accessible queen room. I informed her that it was the only queen room available when I booked from the hotel website, she then decided to move us to another room on the first floor, right across from the exercise room and the hall. The hall smelled awful of chlorine and there were children running around unsupervised up and down the halls to the pool. We walked in and took one look at the bed and deduced that it was NOT a queen, it was definitely a full size bed. We sleep in a queen bed every night and know what it feels like. We went back out and asked to be moved to another room because that was a full size bed, the employee assured as that it was a queen. We asked if we could be moved to the room that we originally booked and she said that it was gone already. I asked her about any other options and she stated that everything was taken. Clearly, she did NOT want to deal with the hassle of moving us and was incredibly rude and dishonest in handling our request. The bed was hard as a rock and very uncomfortable. The breakfast was not well-stocked at all and nothing looked fresh. Overall, we were very disappointed.

We have chose this location twice now. The rooms are clean. You also have a fridge & microwave in your room. There is an indoor heated swimming pool & hot tub which is nice. They also have a fitness room. I am one who asks questions when needed. Employees working have always, without hesitation, answered any and all questions I have asked with no complaints. They serve a nice breakfast between 6am & 10am if I remember correctly. Much to choose from: cereals, toast/bagels, breakfast drinks. Hot biscuits & gravy, eggs, sausage. You can also make your own hot waffles. I love the breakfast they serve. I would recommend this hotel for anyone who doesn't want to spend an arm & a leg to spend a night while traveling or for just a get-a-way. I am very impressed with their services.

Best Western Marion Hotel is a nice hotel with a good location that is easy to get to from the interstate . The breakfast has a nice variety with two types of waffles regular and blueberry with lots of toppings.

Sink was inoperable. Ancient and dirty alarm clock didn't work. Staff devoid of any personality. Didn't get wifi password. Breakfast was great, great location right off interstate, good value but hard to clean decades of old surfaces

Great hotel always clean and a nice breakfast. Plus I feel very safe staying here. All staff are friendly and very helpful. I appreciate all the extras the staff do. I plan to visit each time I pass through the area.

The room was clean and well appointed. Everything was as expected to make my stay comfortable and problem free. The breakfast was very good. A great selection of food types so no reason to leave hungry.

The lady that check people in when I arrived was very rude the room was not stocked very well with towels the worst day of my life I definitely will not be staying again when asked about rewards or discounts of any kind we don't do none of that is what I was told

I recently stayed at the Best Western in Marion, Illinois with my husband on our way to and then again on our way back, from Florida. This is a great place, off the beaten path that offers comfort and quiet. There are several restaurants near by, and a Cracker Barrel just across the parking lot. Easy in, easy out and you're right off Interstate 57. We enjoy our stays here repeatedly.

The hotel was clean and comfortable. My only complaint concerned their mask policy. A sign on their door stated that masked were required and I was happy to comply with that policy, but during our visit I did not see any employees wearing masks including the man cleaning tables in the breakfast area. If you want guests to wear masks I suggest you require employees to be masked too.

We're pretty much assured a clean room, good beds, and adequate breakfast foods whenever we stay at a Best Western hotel. This one provided another good night's rest. All staff were friendly and efficient from check-in to check-out. We've stopped here before and would choose to stop again when in this area!

We stayed in Room 109, which is handicapped accessible, on the first floor. It has one double bed, refrigerator, a desk and chair. The toilet and shower had handicap bars. The mattress was firm but comfortable. Everything looked clean. Marcus, the desk clerk, was helpful as we tried to figure out the TV. The selection of channels was very limited. The free breakfast included the usual cereal, make yourself waffles, scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy. We ate dinner at a nearby Red Lobster restaurant.

Stayed one night on my return trip home. The hotel was clean and the front desk staff very helpful. Comfortable king size bed and large bathroom. The only disappointment was the less than ambitious breakfast attendant who did not refill anything and instead spent her time chatting with a male coworker who helped himself to breakfast items. No coffee and the hot food items sat empty. She and her coworker did not represent BW very well. Other than this disappointing aspect, my stay was good.

The hotel was average. The breakfast was good and helped with not having to go out and spend additional money. The room was a bit musty and humid even though we had the air conditioner on. Would of liked the beds to queens not doubles since my husband is a tall man. Check in was great and the front desk were very friendly.

This hotel was great for a night on the road. The room seemed clean, breakfast was good and included hot food. Parking lot was well lite and even though we were on the freeway side traffic didn't keep us up. Easy to find it was right off the freeway. I would stop there again.

This is a nice Best Western hotel. It's very clean, the beds are comfortable, and the employees were very courteous and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was much better than we expected. They had Biscuits, eggs, sausage gravy, sausage, waffles, fruit, and more. Many hotels are using Covid as an excuse to stop providing a good breakfast, but this Best Western is going above and beyond what we expected. They are still giving you a great breakfast. It was the Cherry on top of an already pleasant stay. We will definitely stay here again when in the area.

The hotel is in a convenient area close to restaurants and gas. The room was similar to other Best Westerns we have stayed at. They do offer a breakfast in the morning. Standard hotel breakfast food.Nothing special. My wife thought the breakfast area was a little cramped. The hotel has more than two floors but it does have an elevator. We would stay there again if in the area.

We have stayed here before and will stay here again. It is in a great location. Clean facility and welcoming staff. The breakfast was delicious. There were several different types of restaurants nearby and gas stations.

I was charged double without knowing. Once brought up to the GM Eric, he was no where to be found. However, he would respond to social media instead of a phone call. Way to go Eric! And you have yet to tell me something of value.

We stayed here during a recent move from MI to TX as it was a halfway point for us. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, the staff was friendly, and the breakfast was great with many items to choose from. It does need some updating but won't deter me from staying here again.

We brought our 2 kids here for a night away. They enjoyed the pool and the suite room. Breakfast was good too! We really had a good experience ! Great channel Selection on the tv as well. Lots of local restaurants around for dinner too!

We stay her a lot usually but will be the last. There are two of us and I guess because we are forced to use CLC they tell us you have a king but when u check in it's a double. Now I guess I'm just used to staying in the better hotels like IHG because they don't make us share a double bed. My granddaughters has a bigger bed than that. I know it just depends on who is working but it is usually busy here maybe the owner should invest in better beds with all the money they collect. Like Best Western in effingham I think I better stick to IHG from now on. The sad thing is that most of workers will accommodate but then you have bad apples. There a total of 5 cars in parking lot but I guess that means they are sold out? Anyways I hate giving a bad review but I asked two staff members before we checked out if I had a king room and they said yes. So not sure what happened at shift change?

For the cost, I felt like the rooms could be a little better. No towels available at the pool in the evening and in the morning. Breakfast was definitely missing a lot. Location is great and with a little work it could be a great hotel!

This ended up being a fairly average stay during our travels to Shawnee National Forest, and my partner and I regret not looking for other options, even if it meant paying slightly more. While the hotel provided the basic provisions we look for in a hotel, they missed the mark on: (1) loud a/c unit in our room, (2) fridge not working optimally, (3) lack of easily accessible outlets to charge phones near the nightstands, (4) misleading about hot breakfast --> they had grab bags with a pre-packaged fruit, granola bar, and pastry, coffee but no tea, and every day, biscuits and gravy. They missed the mark on thinking outside the box to provide better options while still keeping physical distancing with guests.

In town for a holiday weekend wedding. Best Western offered the best value for what we needed. Property was clean. Check in and check out were easy. Amenities we utilized were good. Beds were a little hard for our liking, but we generally just needed a place to shower and rest our head.

Possible the rudest least concerned front desk person we have ever encountered! It wasn't only us but the customer she was speaking to on the phone. The room itself was ok. It was reasonable clean and comfortable. I would consider staying elsewhere.

Its not run down and rooms are clean. There is a musty smell in the halls. The walls are thin so be ready to hear people outside, next to you, and above you. The method to turn on the shower is unusual, only seen it once before so it only took 10 minutes to figure it out. Seems like instructions should be posted. The free breakfast shown in photos was closed. A sack breakfast was provide at the check-in desk. Again, nothing posted to let people know. While sitting in lobby having coffee I had to tell everyone how to get breakfast. Signs of poor management.

This property is very nicely maintained. Clean and large room (king suite) with 2 refrigerators, microwave, single cup coffee maker. Easy access from the highway but far enough that the traffice noise isn't a problem.

The rooms need better pillows, not 1/2 a pillow and nicer bedding. Make sure that the rooms are cleaned better, Also needs to have bottled water for guests when they arrive . An actual comforter not just a sheet.

some rooms have old lumpy awful mattresses in part of the motel, ask for room with new mattresses or test bed before unpacking your suitcase, other than that it is a great motel, clean, friendly help, nice rooms.

The hot tub was closed. The pool is NOT heated despite being advertised as heated- only the room is. Breakfast was the same every day: small and not great. Frozen waffles and biscuits and gravy are kept behind the counter. (You have to ask they don't tell you about these). A bag with an apple, mini muffins and a granola bar are on the counter. And instant oatmeal and yogurt are in the back by the juice and coffee. The internet password didn't work but I have unlimited data so didn't really need it. The room was decently clean, fridge and microwave could've been better. The shower was hot with good water pressure.

Traveled all day so just wanted a clean room and a nice bed. This was both. Easy check in. Got a king size bed and room was clean. The shower faucet leaked when on. The toilet worked but you could tell it was an old one as it was a very low one. The price was good as we were members. Would stay at a Best again.

Love this hotel. Always clean with a very friendly staff. The pool is great! Linens were crisp and clean and the beds are very comfy. They still had bagged breakfast due to covid but it had fruit, muffins, and a granola bar.

I was traveling in the area and needed a no-frills place for one night. The price here was reasonable, the reviews favorable. The booking process was easy, check-in equally easy. Staff in the evening and morning were friendly and efficient. The room was clean, wifi good, and everything worked well. Even though the number of vehicles in the parking lot indicated quite a few guests, the hotel was quiet. It's also located within easy distance of a number of restaurants, and I was able to walk to the nearby Cracker Barrel. Breakfast is more limited due to COVID, but there was enough variety that I was able to manage just fine.

For the price our king room was acceptable. The lobby and hallways had a faint cigarette smell. The room, while not well lit and needed better upkeep, was very clean which is what really matters to me

As my title said, there was a 3-4 inch hole in the bedskirt. Seems like the person making the bed should have noticed it. Also, there was no way to close a curtain...no room darkening curtain..just a sheer! Not great when there is a light shining directly into the room at night....bathroom floor was pretty dirty along the edges and doorway....won't stay there again.

We started staying at Best Western's a year ago on our way to Florida. We enjoyed them so much (other then the virus thing and the bag breakfast, you can keep that and give me a room discount) we decided to stop again. Everything was just as good and they have returned to some warm food and juice. THANK YOU, we will stop again.

We have always had success with Best Western in the past so felt secure with this choice, unfortunately it only took moments to change our mind. The driveway was VERY icy, and though I realize that happens when it is cold and snowy, no other business I went in the area was as bad as this hotel. Upon check-in the person working the desk did not greet me just stared at me until I said I had a reservation, they then said " ID and Credit card" and then answered the phone and had a conversation with someone about the weather the rest of the time I was standing there. I was not told my room number, how to access wifi, whether there was breakfast or not and when it would be, I was just handed a key card and they turned to walk into the back again. Not a great first impression. The hallway smelled of smoke, though it is non smoking, our room was fine, aside from the carpets being dingy. The beds were comfortable and the heat worked fine, we did not have housekeeping come into the room during our stay as we did not appreciate that the one we saw was not wearing a face mask. Overall, service was poor, safety was sketchy, but the rooms were comfortable. Right next door are 2 other hotels, I may just check them out next time I am in the area.

Started off with the check in lady not going above for a customer in need when it was MORE than a reasonable request seems there was only like 5 people at the hotel on a Friday night! Said that is what I have been told and then claimed to be manager. Then pretty much shamed using hotels.com claiming their prices are cheaper with rewards when they were not.... I checked.... Then room was either hot or cold. Vending machines didn't work or were out of stock. Cleaning lady did not respect privacy sign on door and walked in anyway 2 hours before checkout time. Very sad with our visit.

While the hotel itself was fine and worked for a one night stay, I found the room conditions to be poor. Upon arriving in my room I found skid marks in my toilet which signaled that it had not been cleaned before my check in. Everything else was fine but it was discomforting to see that the rooms, especially something as basic as the toilet, were not thoroughly cleaned before my stay especially in the midst of a pandemic when cleaning standards are heightened. The man at the front desk however was very kind and made the check in process easy.

It was a last minute stop in this town. I was looking for a place to stay for the night. Wouldn't have stayed anywhere else. Stuck to who I knew and BW was it. It's always a great stay and always my choice in hotels..

We recently stayed at the Best Western in Marion, Illinois on our way home from a trip to Florida. The hotel was great! It was conveniently located, quiet, close to Starbucks (our breakfast drink venue of choice) and had all we needed for a good night's rest before heading back out on the road. We've made a note of this hotel so we can be sure to use it again on our frequent trips to the South!

Stayed 6 nights here in a room with 2 beds. The room seemed a little cramped, but we managed since there were only 2 of us. I was surprised that housekeeping serviced the room each day since other hotels I have stayed at are only providing it on request due to Covid. I also noticed that housekeeping was not wearing face coverings every time I walked by them in the hallway, which is a bit concerning since they are entering other people's rooms regularly. Housekeeping can do a little better with cleaning the room since they are servicing it every day. Bathroom floor was not swept and toilet was not cleaned when they visibly needed it. Some trash was left on the floor next to the trash can where housekeeping emptied it but missed something. Breakfast offerings could be better, but understandable with Covid. Overall, I would stay here again. Rates were very reasonable and convenient location.

This property is located right off the freeway, restaurants are nearby, and gas stations with sundries for the night or the next day. The hotel lobby was clean, and large enough to social distancer from other customers. Our room was clean, quiet and spotlessly clean. HVAC worked well, we were able to set temperature a bit warmer for sitting, a bit cooler for sleeping. Although close to the freeway, we had a quiet night's sleep.

Had a rude experience when checking in at the Hotel. Was never told over the phone that being I used a cash to pay for the room upon arrival that I would need a $100 cash deposit. Also no blow dryer in room. Bad smell in room

Keys didn't work even after they said that they fixed them. Our door from the outside only worked 1 time to let ys into the building. Pool broken, hot tub broken. Breakfast could of had more items....

We stopped in to this BW on a road trip at about 9 pm. I had no reservation. The process to check in went pretty quickly. The hallways leading to the room were very hot. I remember telling my husband if the room was that warm we would be leaving. But upon entry to the room we found it to be cool and comfortable. We had a king bed with a pull out couch. The dresser had an extra pillow and blankets for the couch. The room was huge and though dated was very clean. The bed was comfortable. We checked out very early in order to get on the road again. It was a good place for a rest.

The hotel seemed to have taken extra measures to clean the room. Friendly and the Front desk wore masks. Had a breakfast to go bag. However, my tv remote didn't work and after 4 calls, and a promise to come to my room, I had no tv for the evening.

We stopped at the Best Western for the night. Room was very clean and comfortable. Front desk was very friendly and helpful. Only negative was there was no breakfast which was understandable with the virus. They did offer fruit, granola bars and packaged muffins. Definitely would stay there again.

my husband and our 4 children went to this hotel and from the moment we get there our experience was terrible. The hotel it self was so hot. We had connecting rooms with our children and our refrigerator and microwave didn't work. Then we would put the card out for room service to clean and refresh our towels and when we would come back to the room not being touched. I went to front desk and the lady argued with me about towels. We also were told breakfast would be available from 6-9 and every morning there was nothing. The laundry room washer works good but the dryer does not even dry the clothes had to pay $3.00 and still didn't get the clothes dry. Im very disappointed and will never go back

I called the hotel and phone was answered quickly I had several questions one was rate and if pool was open and to my surprise the rate was only $83 and change they gave a firefighter discount as well the pool was nice and clean along with hot tub I enjoyed the patio by pool the best as I sat out there till 10 pm with a nice breeze.

I think the title speaks for my review. Although the hotel was quiet for a Friday, it was also the first day of the Pandemic. The door to my room did not close. Instead, you had to slam it shut and lock it to get it to stay closed. The door to the outside, that normally you would need a key card to get in, was broken leaving anyone with the ability to get in to the hotel. Mind you the hotel is literally right next to the interstate.

Renee & Brian at the front desk are absolutely the BEST and went above & beyond on everything! The place is clean but dated and beds were completely uncomfortable. Booked for 8 nights and only stayed 6 (not any of their doing just circumstances of the trip) and would refund the charge or credit the 2 night's we didn't use. Also arrived home and received an email invoice for an additional $81.67 after the fact.

Recently renovated, nice, not fancy, but clean and comfortable. Good bed! A/C can run constantly which I love. Very friendly staff. Only issue is due to the actual age of the hotel, if you are on the main floor, you can hear all the footsteps and noise from above. Easy walk to a great restaurant, Twenties Hideout. Express checkout. Would stay again.

we left a day early on our February trip to avoid the impending weather. Brian was outstanding as an employee -- he greeted us quickly - made sure both rooms for our group were comfortable and had no hesitation in giving a fantastic restaurant for dinner. He made our stay very enjoyable. Internet access and the complimentary breakfast were a plus for the start of our trip

Stay there every time I go to Marion. Never a bad experience. Room is clean, has a recliner, is a smoking room which is a priority with me, breakfast is good and coffee available 24 hours. I like the hotel and the staff.

We had stayed at Best WesternS before and our daughter gave us a gift card for Christmas so this was our chance to use it.The entire experience was first class. April, who is charge of the breakfast area that day did a wonderful job and is a treat and goes above and beyond in serving you. Room was clean and ready when we arrived, beds were comfortable, breakfast was first class and checkout was easy. Nice price and location that is easy to find. THANK YOU

Despite being close to the interstate the room was quite without traffic noise. Room was spacious and comfortable. Towel and sheets were a little rough from what I use at home. Location convenient and several restaurants are in walking distance.

The hotel was good, rooms were not top of the line but they were ok for the money. Pool was cold, hot tub was nice but small. Breakfast not good but most complimentarys are not. Overall if you need a place to stay it's an ok place, definitely far from a hole in the wall but not super fancy either. The staff were AMAZING!!

Truly was a nice and comfortable stay at Marion Illinois Best western no complaints. I truly recommend this hotel to family and friends the breakfast was just the area is great and the pool was pool was perfect

We stopped by on our journey to Kensas. Brian was at the front desk very professional and friendly and most patient. We got smoking room even though it did smell smoking . Breakfast was nice and the morning front desk was kind too. There is indoor pool and hot tub but we were too tired to jump in. The mattress was uncomfortable that was the only bad thing I can say all the rest was perfect

My group stayed at this Hotel for approximately a total of 300 nights in the last 12 months. The hotel became almost like a second home to us. We had other choices but with the location, pleasant atmosphere of all the workers we never considered another place.

I stopped here after driving for hours in an ice storm, and it was a great location, right off the interstate. I didn't have a reservation, but the manager who checked me in matched the lower online price for the room. Soundproofing between rooms wasn't great (hearing neighbors' TVs was bothersome when I wanted peace and quiet), but the manager seemed perfectly happy to reassign me to a quieter room upstairs. Everything was clean and comfortable. Breakfast staff was helpful, and the food and coffee were good. I'd absolutely stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay at the Best Western everything was good and cleaning our room the people at the front desk was real nice replace the key card for us and the maintenance guy in the housekeeper's work great with keeping our room full of towels and very attentive they let us come in early andthe only thing that was wrong was the pool is really cold we couldn't swim and the hot tub was really hot and I couldn't stay in there no longer in 5 minutes I feel like I was going to pass out overall state was good breakfast was good bed was comfortable we will stay there again.

We had reservations for a king size bed and a no smoking room and when we arrived we got exactly what we had reserved. In the morning they had what we thought to be a great breakfast set up the staff that we dealt with where very nice sorry I didn't get there names and we also thought the hotel was very clean and we will be going back there on are next visit

The rooms are clean and comfortable. There is a nice fitness room, and the breakfast is very good with gluten friendly options. The staff is very pleasant. This is our stopping point on our way to and from Wisconsin. We have stayed here many times.

By brother, SIL, and myself came into town for a family member's wedding. We had reserved 2 rooms.We were travelling down that same day and needed to check in early to at least one of our rooms in order to get ready. The hotel staff were very accommodating and even made note that we had the same last name so she took the initiative and had both our rooms ready for us. Breakfast was your typical hotel warm breakfast. Room was clean and bed was very comfy.

I think I've reviewed this hotel before; I stay here every time I travel from my home to Memphis, although it isn't quite on the way. We love the hotel. If you're here, also try the 20s Hideaway Steakhouse and Bar, which is within easy walking distance.

This best western is my favorite because it doesnt allow pets...staff is nice and courteous, the bed was comfy, internet worked good, the room was clean. Breakfast had a good assortment. But it's the same hot stuff everyday..

Traveling from St. Louis to Knoxville TN. When we get a late start going home this is our favorite place to stop. Always a pleasant experience. Room is always clean, staff is always friendly, breakfast is always satisfying. Recommended.

Our stay was satisfying because the hotel & our room was clean. No sign of any critters. We enjoyed the hot tub. The breakfast choices were nice. The pool water was too cold to use for me. The location was perfect, we would stay there again.

My wife and I were able to purchase a small house in New Orleans in 2011. Since we live and have ties in Michigan but love New Orleans we usually make 4 or 5 round trips a year. Our habit has been to look for Best Western Hotels because we have never been dissapointed with our stays. Even before many of the properties were upgraded. Keep contuning to help make us happy Best Western. Our latest stay was in Marion, IL. We took a different way home.

Check in went smooth and fast. Room was clean and inviting. Coffee was available anytime in the dining area. TV had wide range of program options/shows/sports. Internet was fast and flawless. Room was well insulated and noise from the hall or adjoining rooms was not a problem

Staff was not welcoming or friendly. The room stunk and was very dirty. There were half eaten chicken nuggets on the floor from a previous guest. The only positive thing I can say is I was so exhausted that I slept.

We stayed for two nights in October. Our room was very clean. The pool area was clean and well stocked with towels. The hotel was decorated for Halloween, which was awesome and tasteful. Overall the hotel was nicer than previous trips.

Except for spotty maid service, this hotel stay was very pleasant. Every other staff member was nice and kind and willing to help. Location is right off of the Interstate and there are restaurants near the property. Breakfast bar was very nice.

Thank you A. Jones for the pleasant experience when I was checking in at 2:10 a.m. on 9/21/19. I was pretty tired from being on the road for 2 days coming from the eastern part of Florida. My last experience of staying in a motel was not pleasant at all. This far exceeded it. Only wish I had a room on the other side away from the highway.....I'll remember that for the next time I stay. Odd side only, odd side only, odd side only - lol The room was very clean and nice and bright and cheery. The breakfast was very nice. Seen several people making the Belgian Waffles. They smelled delicious. I just had the scrambled eggs and biscuits and gravy and orange juice. Didn't want to get too full, still had another 3 1/2 hours to go on my trip. Out of the three BW's we've stayed at, this is the only one with an enclosed pool and whirlpool. My husband lived it!! The staff was very helpful and the room was very nice. This room refrigerator had a freezer so we cool keep the ice packs frozen.

Location is convenient to the Interstate, several restaurant options nearby, free parking, hotel has an elevator, hot breakfast, gluten free menu upon request, diabetic friendly, something on the breakfast menu for everyone. Guest services to assist you in whatever need arises for you! Easy to follow directions from front desk, only if you ask or need help! Great Swimming pool and hot tub, great for extended stays!

Crashed here on the first night of a road trip. Easy to find, easy to check in. Clean room with a comfy bed. Good shower and bathroom. Didn't really have a chance to check out the rest of the facilities, but a great place to spend a night. Odd that there are so many hotels in this town. ......

While the lobby and breakfast area are nicely updated and the free breakfast is pretty decent the guest rooms are a bit lacking. Room was not updated, the bed skit was torn and the mattress very hard and uncomfortable. There was the old hotel musty smell to the room and hair on the bathroom floor. Trash cans out front of the building where overflowing for the majority of our stay and staff just never seemed to care about much of anything. Only 3 towels in our room for 4 people and when we asked for more received 1 towel from the pool because they didn't have any clean. The hotel was not full either. Price made it an ok stay, but won't be staying again.

On a recent trip to the Appalachian Mountains to a motorcycle rally, we stopped in Marion, IL as our half-way point for an overnight stay. We booked a king room and we were upgraded to a Business Suite, as we are Best Western Rewards members. The hotel was right off the Interstate and east to get to. The room was clean and spacious. The staff was friendly and helpful. The morning breakfast was better than most. We liked this hotel enough that we stayed there again a week later on our way home.

Renee front desk rep disrespected my privacy HIPPA rights. Stalked me in the property and next door in her car. Charged us for a room we never set foot in. Stated we could not have animal on property even if it is ESA. Asked what task my ESA did, which is against HIPPA laws! Very rude and disrespectful and will not refund our money even though we didn't stay at the hotel. Don't ever go to this BW.

When you spend a lot of time on the road for work you value where you spend the night. I do not get to Marion very often but this stay at the Best Western was excellent. Efficient and friendly staff and comfort all around. Relaxing and restful bed and great shower ( it's the little things that make for a great stay). The people were great and friendly so you left with a smile and ready to be back on the road.

This is a beautiful property -- clean and quiet -- located just off the interstate. The room was well-appointed, and the staff was extremely warm and helpful. They gave great advice on the local dining options. Would definitely stay here again.

The room was substandard for a plus, staff helpful, but still not ensuring a clean toilet is less than honorable. I don't expect it at a plus, let alone a truck stop why should i accept it for my room a place away from home. shame on you Best western.

We came to this hotel on short notice needing a room on a holiday. They were not only able to accommodate us but it was a very pleasant experience. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was very good

Kids loved the pool and the exercise equipment and this is a great area hub for southern Illinois visiting national forest and state parks in the area between Ohio and the Mississippi. I would appreciate an updated room when visiting with a family of 4 the twin beds are old and difficult to get through the night. They have the good old spring mattresses. Breakfast was standard breakfast

The facility is clean. The breakfast is what you would expect. However, our bed was uncomfortable, only had thin covers, and pathetic pillows. There's a reason for the low price compared to other comparable options in the area.

Easy no problem check in quickly facilitated by Brian at front desk. Room has been recently updated. Bed, pillows, linens are all above the normal. Property is fairly old but well kept. Location right off I-57 in a very safe area. Walking distance to Cracker Barrel too. Very good selection of breakfast items were avaliable in the morning. Will stay here again on our returning last night of a 36 day cross country road trip.

We spent 2 nights here and had a great experience. Room was clean and conveniently located. I especially appreciated that they had gluten free and lactose free items on the breakfast bar. I rarely find that!! Thanks for considering those of us with food allergies!

Wife and I stayed 3 nights and had a very comfortable stay. She would comment on how the bed and pillows were comfortable every night. Clean bedding as well. I would highly recommend a stay. Great staff, friendly and helpful.

There is not enough room to write my review, just know that the people working in this establishment have no idea what they are doing or how to make reservations. They are rude and "pass the buck" around to each other. Also, the paper coffee cups that they leave in your room...yea, mine had mold in the bottom of it. Good thing I looked at it before I took a drink. It was still wrapped but who knows how long it was sitting around waiting to be used.

hard to find smoking rooms in a hotel, little less clean, well appointed room to go with it. Only issues were water pressure and room had those little on cup coffee makers, with only two cups and two people. I plan on returning to this hotel two times next month and whenever I am in Southern Illinois in the future. Really a nice little place to stay on a budget.

We had a great stay everyone was polite with us and helped us if we had and questions or problems. Rooms were cleaned, Hot tub could of been a little warmer, but everything was clean and well kept. We stay at this hotel at least 2 different time of the year and everything is clean and the service is always good.

Clean and quiet. Easy to find hotel. Right off interstate 57. The housekeeping and the front desk staff were very friendly aand helpfull. Breakfast was good and quickly restocked when items ran low. I would stay here again.

Stayed here for a buisness trip in the area. For a simple over night stay its a solid hotel for the price. Could use some updating (my chair and office seat looked gross) but the necessities were clean. Cheap snack and drink options, not the usual crazy inflated prices. Nice little deck and pool area. Would recommend

The service was superb. Room was immaculate and I asked for extra pillows and they were provided. The location was great close to eating establishments and the work out run and pool were great. I was immediately told at the front desk that my bill would be placed under my bed and to leave the keys in the room. I also received the room I had requested.

We stopped in for the night passing through and the place was great! Very clean! Extremely Quiet! Great shower pressure! Friendly Staff and amazing hot breakfast the next day! Exceeded all my expectations!

We stayed for 3 nights, they accommodated my requests for a high floor and quiet room. They employees we saw were pleasant and helpful when we needed assistance. Unfortunately though, the hotel needs some major deep cleaning. The rooms are picked up and housekeeping does a good job keeping it “clean,” but the property owners should really get the carpets shampooed and do some good scrubbing in the rooms. We had a family of spiders hanging out in our room the whole time and we were attacked my mosquitos at night. Overall an okay stay and we'd probably stay here again, but until it gets some deep cleaning I'll make sure to pack some sandals to walk around in.

First the good news. Staff was cordial and breakfast was good. But there was no water pressure in the sink and didn't have enough towels for everyone. Ice machine on first floor didn't work and this was at 0730. Matted hair in tub and on floor. Base of toilet was not clean. Guide for TV did not work and TV listing was not in information book. We found it thr morning we were checking out in desk drawer. Would not stay here again.

chose Marion as a location because it is central to all the hikes in Shawnee Ntl. Forest that were of interest to me. The Best Western was a great value with an indoor pool and hot tub. Breakfast was good, hotel lobby and rooms were well apportioned and clean.

I have stayed here twice this year as an over night stop on the way to Joliet Illinois. I use this as my stopping point because I know it is a clean comfortable hotel. Always a nice stay and everyone goes out of their way to help you if you need something.

My stay was excellenton all levels and without incident or cause to contact to complain. The room was neat and clean, furnished with an abundance of clean towels and fresh sheets. Hallways and other common areas were very clean and we'll maintained. Breakfast was well above average with staff present to replenish items as needed. Location is very convenient to local restaurants and fast foods. High visibility location with easy on/off freeway access.

The hotel was overall great. Close to a few restaurants and gas stations. Right off the highway but very quiet hotel! My only complaints...the pillows are super small, the pool was extremely cold, and the hot tub was luke warm at best. Buffet breakfast had a good selection. Everything was functioning and clean.

My wife and I were traveling and planned to go a little further up the road before stopping for the night. However, lighting up ahead caused is too look at a weather app. We were driving into a large area behind with a tornado war going. We decided to get off the road, take shelter and stop for the night rather than risk driving into a tornado at night. The desk clerk alerted us to the warning when we arrived and advised us that we could shelter in the first floor of the hotel for our safety if we decided. We ended up spending time night and we're very satisfied with the room and price.

Received my 10% discount, which isn't a whole lot, but anything helps. King-size bed in room, but next to the elevator, which you could hear through the walls. When checking in, management was dealing with a "loud" guest(s). Turns out, they were above us, but finally settled down or were escorted off the premises; not sure of the exact outcome of the situation. Desk clerks were helpful by advising us of the road construction on I-57 for our return trip; one lane traffic from Metropolis to Mt Vernon. We took a different route back home.

Our check-in was fantastic and the gentleman working the front desk was wonderful. However, that's where anything good about this hotel ended. I booked three different rooms and two of them were completely infested with ants. We arrived back to the hotel rather late and went to the front desk to ask for either a room change or something to spray the ants with. After waiting for approximately 15 minutes for an employee to show up, we realized he had been out back smoking the entire time. We were given some spray to take care of the problem ourselves then were treated like absolute garbage by this employee the rest of the night. I recommend not staying in this hotel by any means. Spend the extra $ and stay somewhere else.

The only problem I had was the temperature not being hot enough in hot tub. Room was nice. Shower pressure was very good. Breakfast was good for what I needed. The bed was very comfortable. Check in was fast and easy.

After a very long drive and in a wrong state, we arrived. Friendly staff, clean and comfortable room. My only disappointment was the washroom is very tiny. And I do nor care to have my sink right as you open the door. Would have been better on the opposite side. Bed was comfortable

We were passing thru town on business and had a very pleasant stay here a few nights ago. The gentleman who checked us in was friendly, and prompt even while multitasking. Although we didn't get the chance to spend much time in our room, it was spacious and clean and the bed was comfortable. We slept as late as we could and the staff was quiet and considerate. Very near by restaurants and interstate.

Helpful staff, convenient location, great breakfast. Internet stayed connected, had no problems with it. We would stay here again. As a matter of fact, we will be returning home in a month and will book it shortly for our return trip.

I was outraged that this hotel refused to amend my reservation when I checked in. While I originally believed I would need the room for two nights, schedule changes necessitated a change. The hotel refused, and I was charged $400 for one night. Yes, that's correct, and in Marion, Illinois, of all places. I may as well been on Chicago's Gold Coast. I would never stay at this property again. Furthermore, I will now be done with Best Western, period.

After reading the good reviews, I was ready to stay here. The check in process was slow. There was only one person at the desk, and they were busy. Okay, we came at a bad time. Then we got up to our room, and the key didn't work. Back down to stand in an even longer time. Took forever to get checked in. The room was clean, which I appreciated, but it needed work. There were cracks in the ceiling and it looked like they had patched nail holes over the old wallpaper. The worst part is that the hotel is right next to the interstate, and our room was in front. It was very noisy. The breakfast was fine. Standard hotel fare.

Professional and friendly staff. The Bathroom needed to be updated and cleaned. Fan vent was very dirty. Shower fixtures need replaced. Broken desk chair and recliner. Very disappointed in Best Western. We were there for a family Funeral the only reason we stayed beyond the first night we did not have time to search for another Hotel.

Really clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Great location. The breakfast was very fresh and the breakfast area was fully stocked. We will definitely stay again when in town on business.

I stayed here for one night one of the things that caught my attention was how clean everything was . i was greeted by a very nice staff person who said hello right away . i went to my room and it was very clean and cozy. my floor was quiet which is important to me and my sleep. i woke up and went to breakfast the food was good and there was staff there to help. I went to the spa area and the hot tub was nice and hot the way it should be and the swimming pool temperature was warm as well i do not like cold water . I liked the location as well close to a lot of restaurants i like. I would stay here again.

We just needed a hotel room for one night and got this hotel at a low price. It was just what we expected and wanted. We had a comfortable king size bed and a large clean room. Staff was very friendly. The breakfast was what you usually get at any hotel, which means a lot of carbs. Restaurants were close by for dinner.

Nice hotel to stay at for fishing tournament. They have plenty of plugs to charge your boat. Make sure you let them know when you will be leaving in the morning because they may not have any breakfast ready.

This hotel was nice. Not nice as a few other BW I have stayed at. Could use an updated make over. The hotel was clean and had BW traditional color schemes throughout. It is located right off the interstate and near plenty stores and resturants. It is well lit at night. We felt safe and secure. The staff were also professional and caring. I love the fact that this hotel is pet free and has a nice s grill near the sitting area in back if the hotel. The pool and hot tub was beautiful neat and clean. The exercise room was well equipped and all of the equipment was in great condition. We wanted to wash a couple of items but the washer was not working nor was the ice machine on the second floor. The faucet in the bedroom was out dated and the water did not flow properly; It just sort of sprinkled out. So I asked the front desk clerk to send up a maintenance specialist to address it. He told me none was available that day. Our double bedroom was unusually small and the bed mattresses were not as thick and comfy like the BW quality I'm use to and expect. But the Fluffy but firm pillows saved the night. The bathroom was absolutely too small for any good. After getting up from the tolite and taking one step forward you were out of the bathroom. I must also tell you that the tub is deep but So very narrow. So don't plan on a relaxing sit bath. Breakfast was just breakfast. Everything hotels usually have for breakfast was there, except fresh fruit, danishes, muffins and dounuts. We are truly BW patriots. We enjoyed our stay. BW are always increasing renovations and new ideas. I know this hotel will be in their elite lane eventually. We will be back.

Again another late arrival. Everything was ready and waiting. Staff was informative and easy check-in. Good truck access and parking. Quiet rooms. Everyone was helpful. Easy access to food close by. Another early checkout and super breakfast in-house.

BW hotels always have been a choice for us, we have honestly never had a bad experience. Staff is always friendly, clean rooms and decent breakfast. They will always be one of our top picks when looking for a place to stay.

We stayed on a friday night on the top floor. Didn't realize the first floor was for smokers; doesn't smoke rise? There were 4 of us and only 3 towels; we had to wait until until the towels were finished in the drier before getting another; no big deal, but we had to make 2 trips downstairs for it; there was only one employee working. The beds aren't the best, but okay. There was a microwave and refrigerator in our room. We should have chosen a room on the west side away form the roar of the interstate, which is very close and loud all night long. The free breakfast was the usual fair with biscuits & gravy, sausage, waffle makers, cereal, muffins, juice, etc...We only ate the yogurt and cooked our own oatmeal in the room. Would stay again, if it was our only option.

We stay here regularly on trips to or from Memphis to southern Indiana, indeed we go somewhat out of our way to stay here! It's a great hotel, and the staff are excellent. The nearby 20s Hideout Steakhouse, first recommended to us by a BW receptionist, is an added bonus.

Best Western Marion is a great place to stay. It is centrally located and easy to find. The lobby is attractive and welcoming, the office area was nice too. We loved the cookies and spa water offered daily. The breakfast buffet was nice and it great to have access to some items in breakfast area after hours. We stayed in the summer and enjoyed the back porch area for a cookout and it was open to the pool area which is especially attractive with a glass enclosure and hot tub. The beds were especially cozy. Sat hello to Renee at the front desk for us!

We have traveled the country, and if were even close, we always stay at this location. They always upgrade us, the rooms are always clean, the breakfast is always good and plentiful. the parking is good, a great restaurant The Hideout nearby, the price is very reasonable, the staff is always courteous, we will continue staying here, it's a really all around good place.

From the moment that I walked in after a long day, I knew I made the right choice. The room was large and open, clean and well maintained. Breakfast was well presented and lots of awesome option's. I will stay here again.

There were many options around Marion but we settled on best western because of the location off 57, reviews and price. The price at the desk wasn't as good as online but we went ahead with it. It was worth it for the hot tub and good breakfast. We had stayed in about 14 hotels over the last few weeks in the south and none had a hot tub. I had driven almost 600 miles and it felt great. Quiet, friendly staff, clean, good beds.

Was a great place to stay! Don't go planning on a good cardio workout in the gym, but everything else! Staff was great! Everything was clean! Complimentary breakfast, fresh cookies all day, ice lemon/cucumber water all day, hot coffee all day! Class "A" Staff! We loitered in the lobby all day playing games and they were very gracious! Great location! Go downtown and check out the Crown coffeehouse and shops!

Hotel was clean and comfortable. Most staff were extremely friendly. Breakfast was wonderful. I would have given this hotel a 5 except whenchecking our, the clerk was not engaging at all. I was telling him how nice my stay was and he barely acknowledged me. It was disappointing

My family and I had the best time here. I am a member for many years but quit staying because they raised prices. But I renewed my membership and started getting cheaper rates this is better than my Wyndham membership.

While staying at the hotel we had some friends visit. There was a total of seven people stop in and meet with us in the lobby. The host/ front desk person angel was great. Angle took care of our small group and even through some cookies in the oven for the kids. The property has a nice indoor pool and a great hot tub that had the jets where you need them. I would recommend this Hotel to my friends and family. It's also in a nice safe area in walking distance to a convince store and a few restaurants. They really went out of their way to help people. Strongly recommend to stay here.

Very reasonable price...excellent friendly staff upon check in and even the breakfast staff was super friendly and helpful. Good breakfast options. Bed was super comfortable. Was very pleased with this hotel and location.

I had a bad day due partly to the place I stayed the night prior. All I can say is that the staff here are awesome. They not only made sure I was accommodated but made my day. You can tell when employees love their job and they do! It was like visiting family.

This place has always been a great choice for me. I tried a couple others but none matched the level of service at the Best Western. May have a minor issue from time to time but they go above and beyond to resolve it.

This hotel still has smoking rooms. We did not have this information when making a reservation. We ended up with a smoking room and it was horrible on my allergies. The desk clerk was very rude and told me that's what happens when you book with 3rd party sites. I made my reservation on Best western site. We stay at BW often when traveling because we are rewards members. The bed was also old and not very comfortable. Very disappointed in this stay!

This was our third stay at this property enroute to wintering in Florida. The hotel is always up to our high standards of cleanliness, comfort and pricing. As well, nearby dining is equally satisfying.

Booked room on line .Just off I-57. Arrived a little early but no problem room was ready and front desk personal was very helpful. The hotel and room where very clean welcoming.The heated pool was enclosed and very clean. Hot tub was a little too hot for me but managed.Hot breakfast was included with eggs,sausage waffles etc. and was freash, clean and good.would stay here again . Cant beat it for the quality and Price.

We reserved two non smoking rooms (2 adults, 2 children in each) in April for the SIUC family weekend. We fully paid for one of them with the money coming out of our account immediately. We cancelled one room on Wednesday but kept the paid for room. We were unable to come on Friday but I knew the room had been paid for so I didn't worry. We called Saturday morning around 930 am to verify we would still be coming Saturday night and were assured our room was still reserved. We checked in at 6:00 pm and given room 121. We went to the room and found it was a king size smoking room (are those even legal in Illinois anymore??). We went back to the front desk and he said that we had reserved a king size bed with 2 adults and 2 children. I showed him the reservation. He stated that's all he had and because we hadn't shown up Friday they had rented our room to someone else. I explained that I expected a refund then because it didn't seem legal to get paid twice for the same room. I had no problem paying for the room on Friday night if it saved it but not if they rented it to someone else. He then said that the hotel had canceled the reservation at 4 am as a no show (what if I had came at 5 am since technically the room was paid for until 11 am on Saturday?) He offered a roll away bed but said there were no other rooms. As I sat making numerous phone calls hoping another hotel had a cancellation I watched Keith check in 2 other couples to double bed rooms and at least one of those he had to run the credit card for. Luckily Super 8 by Wyndam had one room open and graciously accomodated us! Alas, Keith said that his manager wasn't there or available until Monday (on a weekend with a fully packed hotel??) and he wasn't giving me a refund for either night. Needless to say we won't be going back.

I would stay here again if I was in the area. Hotel staff was nice, rooms were nice, bed was comfy, and the breakfast was good. They had the usual breakfast items along with eggs and sausage. The elevators were very slow, much faster to take the stairs.

We stayed here one night. The room felt damp, the sheets felt cool to the touch and the carpet felt damp when walking in bare feet. It made it bit hard to sleep. In the morning we tried the coffee maker and it spit grounds into our cup - and we were just using it to make hot water for tea so no bag of coffee was in it. We left a note for the maid. Also, the Kleenex box was empty with no spare box in the room. All in all it was little things so the stay was not unpleasant.

The rooms are very nice and comfortable. We stay here each time we travel thru Illinois. It is very convenient to the interstate and restaurants are within walking distance. A very good breakfast is served.

We stayed here on our drive to Florida. The lobby and room were clean, the beds were comfy, the breakfast was a nice surprise. It was a good value for our stay. I would defiantly stay here again when in the area.

I am not a person who has high expectations when it comes to motels/hotels. I just expect my sheets to be clean, bed bug free and decent beds. For the price, it was an okay hotel. I did not notice any bedbugs, my sheets were clean but the beds were awful. Pros: price, pool, hot tub, breakfast (did not eat, but i know it was provided)Cons: beds were TERRIBLE, probably would have gotten better sleep on the floor. We had issues with room accommodations. We paid for two rooms that were joined together. The first set of rooms, one door did not open. We tried to call front desk but the phones didnt work. The remote in one room also did not work. We told front desk about the issue and one man said they did not have any other joined rooms. Once we said we were going else where, he all of a sudden had two rooms that were open and that joined one another.

This hotel was wonderful. We checked in late at night. We had booked last minute from the road. I was just happy they had 2 rooms available, but they went out of their way to get us adjoining rooms. The front desk staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. The room was exceptionally clean. Breakfast was standard. We did not use the pool, but it looked nice. We had some trouble with the wifi, which I noted on the hotel survey. A few days later I got a personal response from the manager. We will definitely stay here again. Thanks Best Western :)

This hotel is convenient to Marion and Carbondale, with very affordable rates. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly, personable and helpful. The service was quick and consistently good. I count on Best Western whenever I come to town.

We stayed here on a vacation / wedding event. The hotel staff was very friendly and the rooms clean. The only downside to hotels are they should reserve the rooms on the first floor for families, since those little feet running and jumping can be loud above you. Their breakfast was good. Would have no problem returning to this hotel if I was in the area.

Not the best. First they said we didn't have my reservation and only 1 room left at 5pm. I had booked on best western.com. They claim their system didn't have my reservation but they found it “online” whatever that means. They claimed there were no 2 Queen bedrooms left only a king. The website said my Credit card would be charged immediately, the Marion hotel said it wouldnt charge on the website so they charged me again but Gave me a $4 discount since I didn't get the room I reserved. They said if i did get charged twice, to call them...seriously they can't tell if I was already charged? All the windows had a strange film on them see picture. Honestly not sure if it's dirt or ?? Then breakfast, went down at 8:45. All I wanted was a piece of toast and water. I asked the lady she said “they didn't have any bread”. There were no bagels or donuts either? So I threw away the empty plate. I won't stay here again there are plenty of hotels in this area. There are also lots of stores they could purchase more food if they run out. (Like I had to do.). So my advice call and make sure your reservation is in “their” system not just BW. (Which seems ridiculous). Or just stay somewhere else. Funny I even was receiving emails from BW saying “ We look forward to your visit!” The day before, making me “think” that there was no problem.

I booked the Best Western for a overnight on a road trip and got a very good rate from the BW site- under $70 including taxes. I was upgraded without asking to a "King Suite" because of my Gold status. The hotel is easily visible from the highway, in a travel plaza with a Cracker Barrel, a steak house, a convenience store and other businesses. Domino's Pizza is available for delivery. My room had a refrigerator and microwave. The vanity area was separate from the bathroom/toilet area which had a standard modular shower-over-tub configuration. The gym was typical- one of each type of exercise equipment- and the pool wa attractive but too small for swimming lengths. I could hear road noise from my room but it didn't bother me- if it bothers you, get a room on the odd-numbered side. Very wide variety of foods at breakfast. I spent the following night at another BW (Knoxville) which cost more and this one was actually better.

Great place to get rest. Quiet. Housekeeping worked quietly around my room and offered service when I wanted. Front desk employees Kieth and Jamie were very friendly and more than happy to help me when I asked. The GM Eric was very helpful as well and spoke to me at check out. Definitely recommend

Great experience at this Best Western. I was so happy to find the beds had actual blankets on them instead of the unclean, heavy duvets that most places use. My only complaints are that this hotel allows smoking and those rooms are on the first floor allowing smoke to rise up to non smoking floors. The hotel does not smell of smoke, however, unless you walk down the smoking corridors. My other suggestion is that this hotel switch to using biodegradable plates, cups, silverware, etc..at breakfast and finding a way to have refillable soap and shampoo containers instead of throwing away hundreds of half full little plastic bottles after each guest leaves.

My 11 year old son and I stayed from July 1 -5. Arrived a bit early for check-in (about an hour) and and allowed me to check in early as I had to take my mom to my aunt's house a lil further south, while they readied the room. Room was clean, the air conditioner was so cold you would have popsicles hanging off you, but as it was insanely hot outside I loved it. Breakfast was decent but after the 2nd day I had to go out...it was too repetitive. My son loved the pool area. My room was maintained everyday nicely. I would certainly stay here again.

We got in very late. Once we got to our room, our door wouldn't shut. We had to close and dead bolt it and did not want to mess with going down to the desk. The a.c. sounded like a semi turning on and off. The breakfast was fantastic though.

Decent hotel for the price. Very clean, kids liked the pool, good breakfast, very helpful and courteous staff. Beds are too small for 2 people —me and my husband had to sleep at opposite ends to be able to sleep and we're not big people.

We stayed here for 3 nights this week . the staff where very helpful when needed . the room was nice but the place needs some updating . we had a comfortable bed and slept well even thou we where directly across from the elevator . the breakfast was ok . it was the same stuff each morning . the hot tub is in need of cleaning . I would stay here again if in the area . very convenient for my needs .

Nice hotel. Very clean, nice lobby and breakfast area - breakfast was free. They have a waffle machine and a nice variety of breakfast food and drink. The room included a coffee machine, microwave and fridge; the beds are very comfortable and the room was quiet - even with the AC running. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Motomart and Cracker Barrel are walking distance.

The overall appearance of this hotel was nice. The room seemed clean. The breakfast was decent. The pool and hot tub were filthy. There was green stuff growing on the steps and black mold all around the sides of pool.

Terribly uncomfortable bed, I'm pretty sure the comforter was meant to be a tablecloth. The A/C unit was so loud we had to leave it on constantly, as it woke us up the first night when we had it set to auto. Also, in our room, there were no drapes to close, just a decorative section, maybe 6 inches wide that didn't move. There were only shears covering the window, so at daybreak there was too much light in the room to stay asleep. The bed was horrible! Obviously I'm spoiled by my bed at home, but this was completely unacceptable. I could feel every coil or spring in the mattress. The breakfast area was not very clean, I saw honey packets that had turned black. Two of the three days we stayed, I drank water from the glass dispenser they had with ice and lemon slices. Both of those days I was almost instantly sick with diarrhea. Coincidence? Maybe. The final straw was returning to our room the 3rd night of our stay and it smelled like a nightclub. Seriously. Like 10 people were chain smoking for days just below us or something. We were on the 3rd floor, which is designated "Non-smoking". My husband even checked the stairwells to see if someone was in there smoking. The next morning, my throat was almost completely closed off from the smoke smell. We stopped at the desk to complain and were told they already got our complaint. No, that was from the room below us. Apparently the first floor, around room 125 or 127 is where the smokers are, 225 complained, and we were in 227. Do you really expect me to believe that we're the first guests ever to complain about this?? We advised the woman at the front desk (no nametag) that we were checking out a day early due to the horrific smell. She asked us not to give a bad review. Really?? She recommended the Best Western Plus in Mascoutah. The Marion BW is no longer a Plus location. The lady was very nice and said she would ask her manager for a discount for our bad experience. When we checked out and got our receipt, we got a discount alright, $6.00. SIX DOLLARS. Unbelievable. I've already spent 2 times that amount on sinus medication still trying to open my head up from the cigarette smell, 4 days later.

Me and the kids came down from Central Illinois for a one night stay to visit my son. So instead of driving back over four hours we just decided to stay the night since I also had Sunday night off, and we were able to visit him one more time before we left out. The kids enjoyed the pool, but I was to tired from driving. We will definitely be staying again if I have a night off again like I did.

I believe, should we have been able to stay our length or reservation, we would have been totally satisfied with Best Western's services. But, due to the water main break and having to leave to find another Motel, put a damper on our stay. Maybe next time.

You could not improve this Best Western. I think even the cost of the room was in the right bracket and the motel,staff, amenities ,even breakfast were supierior to other more expensive motels There is even a Crackle Barrel restraunt next to hotel the hotel is about 3 minutes from the interstste!

very nice motel, the staff was extremely friendly and informative the only problem was the recliner made a loud noise when you sat down. the towns water supply was disrupted and the motel gave out free drinking water in any amount you wanted.

I have stayed at this hotel numerous times and will continue to stay here when I am passing through. I usually stay by myself and feel safe at this hotel. The staff is awesome, the rooms are clean and comfortable. The continental breakfast has something for everyone. The beds and pillows are comfortable as well.

I stayed at the Best Western for a business trip for two nights this week. The front desk staff is incredibly friendly and very considerate. The front entryway to the hotel appears to be very pleasant, clean, inviting. I get to my room, and it's incredibly filthy. There is hair everywhere from the previous guest. The sink, the floor, even found hair in the bed. Not to mention there is a dirty towel full of hair still damp. When I opened the shower, I did not see it draped over the shower curtain. A bug fell out from the towel into the shower and that's when I noticed the sorry towel. I was so grossed out. I'm here for work, so I need to use the desk in the room. The desk was covered in crumbs and hair (again)! Luckily I had sanitation wipes and wiped down everything in this room. Every sink, every knob, every table.This is one of the dirtiest rooms I've ever stayed in, and I travel frequently for work. Luckily, I brought flip-flops (otherwise known as shower shoes). I would not walk barefoot in this room. The floor in the bathroom was very dirty as well. I was going to request fresh towels, but I'm scared to even ask room service to clean my room. There are so many other hotels within walking distance. I do not recommend staying here simply because it's not sanitary. I'm not going to eat the complimentary breakfast in the morning because I'm afraid if the rooms are this dirty, what does the kitchen look like? However, it's worth noting the front desk staff is great and very accommodating.

Our room with two beds had enough space for a pack-n-play, which was nice. We didn't have to set it up in the middle of the room. The beds were comfortable, and the room was easy to keep cool. The pool area was spacious with several chairs - no tables. There's an outdoor area off the pool with a grill. The employees we encountered were all friendly. There are gas stations/restaurants nearby.

Great rate and room. Has parking for people with RV, campers or truckers. Has a Huddle House about 300 yards away. The staff is friendly. The breakfast is a hot breakfast with potatoes, meats and scrambled eggs along with your cereals and fruits and drinks.

Excellent stay, have stayed many places and Best Western Plus is among the best. Service was great and staff was helpful. Bed was very comfortable and many pillows. Great place to stop when traveling.

This was our first time at Best Western in Marion. We were very pleased with our stay. It exceeded our expectations. The room was bigger than expected plus very quiet and clean. We will be returning.in the future.

Tucked away behind Huddle House GREAT friendly staff. Comfy bed Good shower Clean and inviting. Breakfast offerings typical for a hotel. Pillows good. Good peaceful resting spot. Room didn't have the overwhelming odor of a spray deodorant. Fresh clean linen.

This was a good stopping off point for our trip back to Chicago. It was an easy off and back on the freeway. Breakfast was as expected from BW. We had an odd numbered (101, 103, etc.) which were on the opposite side of the interstate and it was very quiet.

I like visiting, but this last time there were 16 college kids drinking in the pool area. They were loud and I did not like my grandson seeing this behavior. I saw 2 employees come in to put towels in the cabinet and they saw what was going on. It was obvious these kids were related to the owner of this hotel. This has been the only complaint I have had here

Service and staff were beyond amazing during our 4 night stay! I would highly recommend this hotel in Marion. The pool and hot tub were always clean and a great way of relaxing after our 14 hour drive.

It looks like this location is doing some renovations. Lobby and breakfast areas are very nice, and the food was great. My room had a couple issues, & I'd recommend the top floor as there were a couple of times it sounded like large objects were dropped above me. Liked that my room had a fridge and microwave.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Friendly, professional staff and quiet comfortable room. We enjoyed the warm pool. Breakfast was a wide variety of choices. We were tickled with the pancake maker, hadn't seen that before. A comfortable, relaxing overnight stay.

Nice looking property with good restaurants near and you should plan on using one of them rather than the breakfast we got...the only meat was the sausage in the gravy. Room was nice but very few electrical outlets. Good TV selection. Pool needs some work. No wastepaper baskets so it looks like previous guest just dropped stuff on the floor. A clock would have been nice and you need to hope you don't need the emergency phone as it had been removed. Water level was low but warm...skimmers could barely work. Watch out when you get out of the pool because it is the coldest indoor pool environment we have ever experienced. We will pick another location next year.

The staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. We received a card of condolences. The breakfast was great. Plenty of good coffee round the clock. By the way, I'm a coffee drinker. The lobby was clean.

Great heated pool and hot tub. Very convenient to interstate. They have a larger than normal breakfast. Cracker Barrel was very nearby. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Room included a fridge and microwave, and had a nice desk and chair. There was a large counter around the sink, as well to store all your belongings.

We always stay here on our way to Texas. We love the location. Easy to find and lots of nearby restaurants. This was a free night based on points and we got upgraded to a suite. The staff are friendly and breakfast is great. Lots of chairs and tables and staff replenishing the food.

Horrible based on tv not working in two different rooms and the staff was not sympathetic to that in my opinion. They offered me 15.00 off for 3 hours worth of non comfort and this was simply not suitable for the circumstances. When I inquired about owner I was told could not give out information.

Clean, modern, friendly staff, comfortable beds, full continental breakfast, heated pool, easily accessible off freeway, excellent restaurants nearby....can walk to them. This was one of the better Best Westerns we've stayed at.

We were on our way home from Christmas and stopped here. The check-in process was easy and the woman who ran the front desk was personable. Our room was right next to the pool which was a bonus for our toddler. Breakfast the next morning was delicious. Well done to the staff. We would definitely stay here again for that price and experience.

Best Western-Marion was a nice room at a good value. Located very near an excellent restaurant, Hideway Bar & Grill. Able to enjoy a good night's sleep after dining at a restaurant which had a broad menu as well as providing music (pianist).

I am so pleased with our decision to stay here. We had a long drive to see family with a one year old in the car, and we stopped here for the night. The check in staff was so helpful and even played with my baby while my brother and I got things in from the car and what not. The pool was warm and clean, breakfast was excellent (I highly recommend cinnamon waffles!), and the fitness center was excellent (it was snowing too hard to go run). Everyone was so helpful to a harried mother who had just driven a long way in the rain and later snow.

This hotel was excellent. The staff went out of their way to assure quality care. The evening manager even told us we had enough points for a free room and upgrade. Breakfast was also very good with eggs, biscuits and gravy, sausage, cereal, etc. Much more than I ever eat at home.

Hotel was Clean with comfortable beds and above average breakfast. Location was convenient to highway and places to eat. Overall it was a good place to stay for the night at a good price. Coffee available 24 hrs and pool and hotub were in good condition and heated.

Nice place to stay on i57. Clean, near the xpressway. Friendly staff. Typical bw breakfast In the rear of hotel area so quiet. Plenty of restaurants and gas stations near by. I would (and have) stayed there again

My husband & I stayed at the Best Western instead of the Holiday Inn where we usually stay and were very impressed with how nice it was plus we were offered to join the rewards program which will give us free stays. The price was excellent and we will definitely stay at Best Westerns whenever we can!

I prefer to stay in marion cause the employes are very nice and have became like coming to family were people know you by name when calling in to reseve my room being greeted by name when I come in to check in and out

great place to stay with family, comfortable, clean and good place to stay for a get away option. surrounded centrally by many restaurants, shopping options and gas stations. even though its right off the interstate its quiet and very well maintained with courteous staff . very pleased with the overall experience and would stay there again when passing thru!

We were just traveling through and this was an excellent place to stay for a night. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean. The staff was helpful and the breakfast was slightly better than some hotel breakfasts. I would stay there again.

My stay at This hotel was below what I expected.My Family and I only stayed one night after driving 7 hours we just wanted to take a hot shower and relax.Upon getting to our room we heard lots of loud jumping above our head from the floor above ..we we reported it to the attendant which she replied that she was surveying the children running in the floor above with know supervision. That lasted and hour when we reported it to the manager it stopped .our bathtub was slow to drain so we each had to wait for the water to drain before we used it

What a wonderful hotel! They set a very high standard for themselves, and the cleanliness of the hotel reflects their success at meeting it. Our room was very comfortable and everything worked great. The breakfast are had plenty of seating on the day we were there, and the food was hot and tasty. Also, I noted the professional looking staff.

We visited Giant City State Park and then spent the night here. It was a good choice. Everything was great except that the pool area was so dark and foggy we could not see out kids in the pool. and the TV listing sheet was not right so we couldn't find the channels we wanted. But the Gideon Bible was still in the drawer and that is important. We recommend this hotel.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely book at this location again. Room was acceptable. When issues they were resolved quickly and to my expectation. Location was ideal for my purposes, close to eating establishment of choice and business.

We stayed here for 3 nights this month and enjoyed our stay . they have a decent breakfast and decent rooms . the star here is there pool . it is really heated . just wonderful for a swim . the staff were very helpful when we needed anything . I would stay here again .

This hotel is a comfortable stay at a reasonable cost. Close to I-57, the hotel is a few blocks from the commercial district. The hotel has an indoor pool, a fitness center, many videos to lend, and a decent breakfast. The staff on my stay were friendly and personable.

Well worth the money! Staff was very friendly and rooms were cozy and clean. Internet runs well and the pool is actually heated! Will always stay here when we're needing a hotel. Oh yeah and the breakfast is awesome!

This BW was good in the past and good now, the staff is extremely helpful, the breakfast very good, location is really good, with a nice restaurant walking distance. The price is very reasonable and staff can't do enough for you.

Stop gap stay on the end of a business trip. The hotel is a little dated and wore, but overall, I was pleased with the stay. Breakfast was picked over when I went through. I would assume that was a timing thing more than anything. I would definitely stay again at this place if the opportunity presented.

This hotel is nothing fancy but great place to stay. Convenient location. Close to restaurants. Nice pool and jacuzzi, open till 10 PM. The toom was comfortable room at an affordable rate. The premises were clean and well maintained. I would stay again anytime.

Staff very nice as well as attentive to ones needs. They directed us to a lovely Chinese buffet called Wok N Roll. I also love the Best Western's hot breakfast of scrambled eggs, sausage, gravy and biscuits,topped off with oj ,good coffee and Danishes. A great way to start our travels.

Went to visit my son on Family Weekend at SIU. Always stay at this hotel. It is close to school, clean, good breakfast and nice, friendly staff. Will stay again. When booking in advance, the rates are very reasonable, however, if you were to just walk in over SON Family Weekend and want a room the rates double. Didn't think that was right.

I typically stay at this hotel when I make trips back home. Staff is always very friendly, pretty clean, quiet for being off the interstate. Only downside...they are in desperate need for new beds! If you like a rock hard bed, this is the place for you! Other than that great value, great people!

We had an excellent experience at the Best Western in Marion, IL. Renee helped us make our reservation and was there to greet us when we arrived. All staff were pleasant and helpful. The rooms were clean and the hot breakfast above average. Great price as well!

Stayed at this location with a large group for a wedding. The hotel is clean, a little older and could probably use some new beds but all in all good. The staff are AMAZING! Renee was over the top friendly and helpful even in a super busy time. Breakfast was good, hot tub was great, wifi was strong and the location was perfect just off the interstate near restaurants. Will stay again if we get back to this area!

We were in southern Illinois for a meeting and we have been very satisfied with everything at the Best Western Plus Hotel for the people we were meeting were definitely giving the southern Illinois friendliness.

I've stayed here several times, and have always had good service, a good (and quiet) room, and a very decent price. I would highly recommend this hotel, even though the location was a bit hard to find at first.

I've stayed here several times the last few years and haven't even tried to stay elsewhere. Seems to have declined over the years. Stayed on third floor this past weekend. Floor had a stale smell to it, including my room. It would have been nice to have a fresh, clean smelling room. It wasn't dirty, just a slight odor. Double bed was not comfortable for me, so I didn't sleep well. Breakfast wasn't kept stocked to keep up with patrons. Next time in Marion, I will at least look at staying elsewhere.

Outstanding accommodations at a most reasonable price! Comfortable bed with nice pillows and an ac system that actually works!! Co-workers genuinely care about the upkeep of the facility. Please give your folks the credit they deserve for making my stay a very pleasant one!!

We were there for the eclipse. Tons of people checking in, even more looking for rooms. The staff did a great job keeping up and staying polite. The pool is nice, with towels provided in the pool area.

Nice hotel for the price. The only problem with the room we stayed in was an odor. I like the layout of the rooms and the location to the highway. Check in staff were professional. We did not hear neighboring rooms which was nice. Loved that room had microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker.

Prior to this I usually stayed at Country Inn, but their refundable room rate was a little high, so it prompted me to check other hotels. Best Western had comparable amenities for a lower price and the location was perfect. The BED WAS AWESOME. Best nights sleep I've had in weeks. We became Best Western "members" and plan on using that hotel for future trips to Marion.

We arrived here a little after midnight. The front desk gentleman greeted us and we asked for a room. He gave us a 10% discount just because my husband asked about discounts. The room was clean with a nice and quiet air conditioner. The bed was comfortable for the most part. Breakfast was great! So many selections and cute waffles! We would stay here again.

The Marion location was good. Many restaurants o choose from and the value made it worth the stay. Good hot breakfast is included and very close to the I 57 interstate. I have stayed at this location when visiting friends in the Southern Illinois Carbondale area.

It was nice, I would stay there again. I do a lot of travel and it was set up nice and the bed was nice. My wife like the room and was happy with the breakfast. the coffee was hot. We did not us the internet or the fitness area. We just stop for the night and it was right off the interstate.

We had a great stay at this very clean and affordable hotel. We were entire group traveling to a family reunion. The hotel staff was professional, very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is good. The pool is very nice, even includes a hot tub. The free WiFi is very good, better than most hotels we've stayed at.

Hotel was clean, staff friendly, felt like a safe neighborhood. Location a bit tricky to get to (follow your gps) and approach to the hotel is from the rear, so the hotel looks a bit dark and abandoned from that side. Nice breakfast selection of hot and cold foods, fresh fruit. Reasonable rates.

We stayed at this hotel one night as a stop over from Memphis to Milwaukee. The hotel was ok, a bit dated, but in the morning I found to my dismay what appeared to be dried snot on the inside of the shower curtain! This then made me question the overall cleanliness of the room and just made me feel disgusted. Not using this hotel again!

We made the reservations almost a year in advance. The rates were reasonable and the reviews positive, so we decided to book a room for 2 nights. The location was very convenient to Route 57 and the Crab Orchard Nature Reserve where we viewed the Eclipse. The Hotel was quiet, clean, comfortable and the staff very helpful. We appreciated the 6am breakfast offering so we could get to our site early. We were glad we had booked 2 nights, so we could just relax in the pool and get a good sleep and start the drive home the next morning - and miss the bumper to bumper traffic after the event. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Free breakfast was very good! Lots of food to choose from. Only food missing was bacon, and a chef to make eggs any way we like and omelets would have been nice. But what they offered was very good. Made my own waffles - delicious! The refrigerator's freezer section needed to be thawed, so it was quite noisy all night because of that.

The hotel was easily accessed off the interstate.. The staff was courteous and efficient. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. I would use this hotel again when traveling through Marion Indiana.

The blanket had blood all over it! It was disgusting! Coming in late at night to get rest! Had to change my own sheets! Tired exhausted from moving my kid into SIU!!! NOT what I expected from this Best Western Plus at all! Over all experience was a failurer! Dirty!!!!!

Poor security with no guests banging on door in the middle of the night demanding to be let in threatening violence . The front desk waited 10 minutes before calling the police. This was a terrifying experience for my daughters and I. The staff was dismissive.

Our room was lovely and clean. We had a swim in the indoor pool which was warm and the hot tub was just right! The breakfast choice was above average - I liked their little cartons of fresh milk and an option of almond milk as well. The staff were polite, I would highly recommend.

I will stay at this hotel every single time, I go to Illinois to visit my son in college. The location is a great spot with lots of shops and restaurants nearby. Thanks to a really in-touch and savvy manager, we received the absolute best of services available to the Diamond Select BW member. The hotel was beautiful and very relaxing, the pool large with a perfect indoor location but with outdoor windows open. We were offered a free upgrade to a king suite which was lovely, very comfortable and well appointed. breakfast was quite varied, well prepared and well presented. this is going to be one of our regular stops on our summer route home to Florida from Canada. I highly recommend it.

These was such an exceptional value for a hotel room. Simple but well appointed and clean rooms, quiet, and comfortable. Breakfast was included and surprisingly good with exceptional options:. Waffles, pastries, cereals, yogurt z sausage, eggs, fruit, etc. Close to cracker barrel and gas stations. Misses:. Check in staff didn't tell us anything about amenities or food we happened to overhear them say it to the next guest otherwise we wouldn't have even known.

Hotel has been somewhat updated: bed, facilities, TV, breakfast were all good. Ample parking, dining choices nearby. Pretty quiet too, much quieter and less expensive than many places up on Route 13. Hall carpeting adds to quietness. Many choices at Breakfast. There is a pool but I have not used it.

We travel about every 3 months for a 4 night hotel stay. We always look for BW+ and have not been disappointed. This weekend was no exception. Clean room, great staff, close enough location to our destination event. Can't ask for more. There were alot more families with kids here than previous visits.

We arrived yesterday evening. Mario was very attentive to see that our room accomidated us as requested. Room was very clean and roomy. Morning breakfast was plentiful and tasty. We hope to find more Best Westerns just like this one, down the roads we travel.

Right off 57, so very convenient. Restaurants in walking distance. Everything was clean and worked well. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was good. Only down side was that furniture is pretty worn. Other than that no problems.

Passing through town and needed a place to stay for the night. This place fit the bill with nice clean rooms at a very good rate. They were spacious with a comfortable bed. Located right off I-57, easy access.

I've been a Rewards member for 15 years or more. BW seemingly does not reward members except by points at the hotel. I was not offered a gift bag like I usually get even though I could see them from the front desk. I was not offered express checkout either.

I needed a room in the middle of the night on a night when everything seemed to be booked. They got me a room. I had low expectations but was surprised. Room was clean, bed was comfortable. There was a decent breakfast. The shower was a very small area.

I stopped here on the way home a couple nights ago. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. The non-smoking, king-sized room I was put in on the second floor was exactly what I needed after driving 14 hours. My room was immaculately clean, bountifully stocked with towels, wash cloths, soap, and toiletries. The bed had an assortment of different firmness pillows, and I found one that suited me fine. The internet worked great, and the air conditioner was quiet as well as working well. The room included a microwave and mini fridge, both very clean, as well as an iron and ironing board, along with a luggage rack to put my suitcase on. The bed was very comfortable and sheets were soft and fresh-smelling. The next morning at the "continental breakfast" I enjoyed biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs, that actually were very flavorful. There was a waffle machine, but it had an "out of order" sign on it, so wasn't able to use that. There was oatmeal, bread/toaster, bagels, and sweet rolls available, as well as an assortment of juices. The breakfast area was under construction (looked like they were putting in a new floor), so I took my breakfast back to my room and enjoyed it. Everything was very nice.

Within 15 min of getting to our rooms for our family reunion Robin came up to tell us the kids were ti loud when they ran to the window to see the pool. She yelled at them before seeing me , i said I would handle it. But she then had to talk aggressively to me about complaints of the kids being to loud, after running one time to the window... ok.? Then the childrens grandma came and they ran to the door to greet her. Robin again came up and yelled at the kids. After contacting customer service I discovered that no complaints had been made, robin made it up! This is the worst service ever, I am actually very uncomfortable for my family here, we are looking for another hotel now.

We have stayed at this particular hotel several different times and have enjoyed each one of our stays. It is a great place to stay due to the proximity of restaurants within walking distance. We will stay here again once in the area.

This property seems to have had some work done on it. While it is still an older hotel, the grounds have been upgraded, the lobby is good, the rooms were good, bed good. It was clean, the grounds were picked up better than before, it was fairly quiet, too, except at breakfast where 1 mother and 4 kids is not a recipe for a quiet breakfast The hotel cannot fix guest behavior.

We stayed there while traveling and found this to be a clean, comfortable hotel. The staff was friendly and the rooms were ver accessible. My mother uses a cane so we really appreciated the elevator. Breakfast was delicious!!

I was off, and we wanted to do something with relaxation. We enjoyed our stay and had so much fun, but we were kind of shocked with the room size being smaller than the other BestWestern that weren't PLUS. Loved the location :) .

I love how they have the DVDs in stock for you to take to your room and watch. The pool and hot tub was a plus! Breakfast was plentiful and diversified! We would definitely come back whenever we drive up north.

This place was perfect for us! The staff was very helpful. They recommended the steak house right by them for dinner and OMG that was the best food and neat atmosphere. Got good use out of the weight station in the fitness center. Breakfast was good to!

The room was not too clean, and the noise was horrible above us, had trouble sleeping. Breakfast was ok, but the pool was overcrowded and the hot tub was out of service the day we stayed. This hotel was not as good as I was hopping.

This hotel needs much better management! When checking in, the girl at the front desk was very friendly, but she didn't seem to know what she was doing. More training would be very helpful. HBO is offered, but we couldn't get it. The manager came to our room to check-it-out, mumbled something, and left. We didn't hear another thing about HBO. Our bill was totally wrong when it was left under our door. At 9:00 a.m. the next morning, we got a knock on our door to see if we were still in our room. Good thing that we didn't want to sleep in. Then there was no ice on our floor! Don't stay here if you want a pleasant and relaxing stay! We're hoping that our bill was corrected accurately. Too bad we couldn't get credit for our problems!

This hotel is just OK. The decor is very outdated. The beds are harder than a rock. I don't plan on staying at this inn in the future. It is hard to find and the outside lighting is not good. Just average.

Best Western has invested considerably marketing the "Plus" hotels. Generally speaking, this facility was not as nice as Best Western hotels I previously visited. I acknowledge the staff maintaining the breakfast was amongst the best I experienced. Additionally, Best Western is advertisinng a $10 gift card for its loyalty members. I have not received one and they have yet to respond.

This has been our go-to place when we are in the Marion area. Staff is always friendly and the hotel is very nice. Close to the interstate, but noise has never been a problem. I really like having a ceiling fan in the room and this room had one. Only negative was that I didn't get near as good a rate this time as in times past due to a lot of activities in the area.

this is a good place to stay. everything was in perfect order. the property is tucked away in a corner but good restaurants are within walking distance. the staff was very courteous and helpful. we would stay again....in fact we did come back for a second night.

This place is outdated and not great. It's not very clean and everything is outdated. Tried printing from the computer I had to actually reconfigure the computer to work. Would not recommend. Do yourself a favor and look for a different place.

Room was not made up for 2nd night. Desk clerk did come up and do best he could. Had sign in lobby stating #1 TripAdvisor rating. Actually 7th. Did not see a year on that document but might have been accurate 5 years ago. Others reported about mattress. It was OK but have seen better in similar class hotels

Stayed in Marion on the way to Michigan. The hotel was conveniently located off the interstate & was a safe, well lit place. Has several restaurants within walking distance. Would definitely recommend to travelers

Traveling through Illinois, Marion was where we needed to break our trip. The motel was conveniently located on the interstate, and it was well-maintained, the room was clean and fresh, and it was quiet. We used the pool and the whirlpool and found them very satisfying.

Excellent customer service at the counter when we checked in. Suggestions of local places to dine, etc. Our room was very comfortable, quiet and clean! The continental breakfast was fabulous. Many choices to select from. Great coffee too! I would gladly stay here again.

I stayed for a fishing tournament at Lake of Egypt. The service hook up was only one outside electrical outlet a hundred foot away and one other one was working. Needed to disconnect from my boat parking lot was a little small. Room was fairly priced and close to many restaurants. Took 10 minutes to get to boat ramp

Front desk clerk very friendly ,room spacious and clean , breakfast very good even had sugar free syrup , whipped cream, almond milk, cartons of milk, varieties of juice, sausage, eggs ,biscuits gravy cereal fruit..and lots of seating . One negative...many cigarette butts out front...maybe need a bigger receptacle like a sand filled pot

Upon our arrival there were a number of guests in line each with a different special request. The desk attendant was very patient and told us the hotel was sold out. She was able to satisfy all demands placed upon her and was very courteous.

We were on our way to an awards ceremony and needed to check in early to dress for it. The staff went out of their way to get us checked in early and quickly so we could get to the event. We made it with minutes to spare. Thanks

Stayed one night with my 2 kids on the way to Memphis. (16 yr old and 14 yr old) Breakfast was adequate - more than just cereal, but nothing exceptional. Staff was friendly and helpful. Facilities are very middle of the road, but still clean. The surrounding area was very nice, well-lit and safe. Would return without hesitation if going through again.

We were here just one night. It is a solid value. Everything that one expects in a mid range hotel. Room was clean. Mattress was old enough that you could feel the structure of the springs through the covering but not so terrible that I couldn't sleep. In spite of being very close to the highway, the room was quite. There is an attached covered pool which we did not use, but which does produce noticeable chlorine oder, even on the second floor which may be a problem for some people Carpet and decor are updated and fresh looking. Breakfast was basic mid range hotel breakfast with nothing that seemed to stand out.

I arrived at the hotel on a very stormy evening around rush hour. Cars were pulling off of the interstate in droves and I was concerned about finding a room in Marion. When I arrived at the BW I received the friendly greeting that I've come to expect from all their units. I was provided with excellent accommodations and directed to several excellent restaurants in the immediate vicinity. As usual, you folks were "spot on" and I'll look forward to my next visit.

I liked the convenience and the professionalism of the facility and the staff. There is everything you need for a short or long stay. Its perfect for a home away from home. The room and bed was very comfortable and the breakfast wS fresh with good variety.

In the midst of a bevy of hotels and restaurants, the Best Western Plus Marion Hotel sits off to the side next to the expressway. The entrance is rather confusing and the location in somewhat of a labyrinth but the rooms themselves and the very professional and courteous staff make it one of our favorite hotels! The breakfasts were much better than average and the nearby Hideout Restaurant has excellent steaks. We will definitely stay there again the next time we are in the Marion/Carbondale area.

The hotel is always clean and comfortable. The employees are friendly and go out of their way to make your stay pleasurable. The breakfast is good and the dining area is always clean with plenty of seating. The food is available and hot during the breakfast serving hours.

Only doubles beds so if traveling with family may not be the best choice. The bathroom was also small, large enough to turn around. However, the rooms were clean and the breakfast was quite full of food choices. Stayed a couple nights, but opted not to get housekeeping. Does include iron, microwave, fridge and coffeepot.

Writing this at 11:40 PM. Checked in earlier then returned to room. Found roaches on wall and in drawer and caked food in the microwave. Eric the Night Auditor was indifferent and told us he would refund the money and we could find another room . When I showed him video of a roach he said he thought it was 'funny'. All other hotels sold out so no alternative but to stay. These people don't care about customers confronting roaches and filthy conditions. Sleep in your car instead of here. Going to mail the dead roaches to CEO of Best Western complements of Marion Illinois Night staff.

We have stayed at this hotel several times as our grandson is a student at a nearby college. This hotel always gives excellent value for the price. The rooms are always nice and clean as is the common areas of the hotel. They offer a variety of options for breakfast. I would recommend it to anyone.

Stayed here during an SIU Homecoming. Convenient location. Very friendly staff who made the check in very easy. My room was clean and bed was comfortable. The breakfast was great.The room rate was excellent. Will be staying here at this location in the future.

Friendly staff, convenient location, hot breakfast. My king room was clean, but standard in furnishings and decorations. The in-room refrigerator, microwave and single serve coffee maker would have been utilized if I was stating longer than the one night. The room was right next to the pool and thus smelled like chlorine and a little musty. I was too tired to request a different location, but perhaps the front desk people could ask about guests sensitivities to that before sending them to the room. There were only about 10 cars in the parking lot, so I will assume I could have had a different room if I requested it. Free wifi and hot breakfast were nice amenities!

I stayed at this Best Western on a fall ride to southern Illinois. This Best Western in a very nice facility. It's clean, welcoming, plenty of clean linens, flat screen tv, and location is easy to find. The breakfast is ok with eggs (that appeared to come in a roll), sausage, hockey puck biscuits, gravy, waffles, cereal, muffins & pastries. Check in & check out we're a breeze by friendly employees. The water at the sink flows at a glacial pace and takes minutes to get warm water. Nevertheless a very good value.

Never stayed at a Best Western Plus before. I was quite surprised with the quality and friendliness. We received a good rate for the suite we stayed in. The breakfast was hot and had an excellent selection.

Nicest hotel in this area of Marion. Short drive to SIU. Friendly staff, clean room. Nothing like a hot waffle in the crowded breakfast area. Cram those tables in! The coffee was plentiful too but all the yogurt they had was pumpkin pie or vanilla (ugh).

My husband I were down to celebrate his birthday. The hotel was excellent and everything was close by. We had a great stay. We were able to walk to a excellent restaurant, which we would also recommend. Very close to Garden of the Gods, which is a MUST see.

Very nice hotel, Bed was comfortable, and the breakfast the next morning was great. I would definitely recommend this hotel, it was very easy to get to also. Being able to see the hotel from the highway made it very nice. The person at the desk when we checked in was very helpful and very nice. We have another wedding coming up next year and I would hope to stay in the same hotel. They are very good for the money we spent.

this hotel is located near the interstate and easy to find. It is very clean with very nice employees, ALL of them. I enjoyed the whirl- pool and the swimming pool was a nice size even though I did not use it. The breakfast was good, hot and plentiful. The hostess was very efficient. in keeping things clean and plentiful!

First time traveling thru this part of iL and used the internet to locate this hotel. On-line booking was quick and descriptions proved to be quite accurate. Very pleased with the accommodations. Breakfast was one of our best experiences at Best Western. Highly recommend as a good stay for either overnight or several days.

I picked the hotel because it was right off the interstate. The service at the hotel was great. There is a few places in walking distance to eat or have a drink. The smell at the hotel was aweful. Luckily there was a CVS in town to get a can of Airwick and a candle.

This is one of the better Best Western hotels. We were extremely pleased with the stay. Breakfast can't be beat, room was great. We encountered not problems at all and recommend this hotel for the area. Check for the military family rate if you are retired or active duty.

We booked this hotel through hotwire and the reservation didn't go through and they wouldn't let us cancel and kept hanging up on us. The front desk clerk Cody is an MVP and he was on the phone for about an hour getting everything all worked out for us and making numerous phone calls to different customer services. Most front desk clerks say sorry and that theres nothing they can do about it. He was freindly and informative and just the best. The room was clean and well kept and the breakfast was great as well. They have movie you can rent out and snacks for purchase. We will definitely stay here again. Recap: Never use hotwire, always stay at this hotel.

Everything went very smoothly here. I booked this from my TripAdvisor account for a great price - checked in smoothly and found the entire experience great. Your front desk folks won't be 'uniformed' and I didn't see a single name tag. Cody checked us in - a bit of a disheveled fellow - but he was just so nice - who cares....lol. Breakfast was great - though we had to ask the lady to turn the juice machine on. They had tons of bannanas in the pantry, but didn't put any out. The waffles, eggs, etc - all great - and a free breakfast. WIFI was up to speed - room AC was great - the room was great and there simply were NO disappointments. They've got an awesome enclosed pool area and whirlpool as well. Fitness area looked great - but I didn't get to use it. Cookies and fruit were left out and we got a couple of each on our late check in. Don't have doubts about clicking 'book' on this one folks!

Great place to stay! We met our family and enjoyed our stay. The staff was wonderful. The kids enjoyed the pool and we even played games in the breakfast area. This is a great motel and we will go back.

This hotel is a good value and close to activities in Marion. The room we stayed in was well decorated and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast buffet was a cut above average. Personnel were friendly and courteous.

This was not a great hotel, by far I've stayed in better hotels. It worked for a quick stay though. The floor was not super clean. The bathroom was very outdated. Breakfast was good and everyone who helped us check in and out was nice especially at 12 am!

The room was very clean and well stocked with toiletries. The beds were comfortable and we were able to get a good night's rest. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Michael at the front desk printed directions for me to a local restaurant and even called the room to make sure all was okay! The breakfast was widespread and pretty tasty! They offered everything from sausage and gravy to cereal and milk. I will definitely be back! The cost was great and everything you see advertised is what you can expect!

rode in on motorcycle and warmly welcomed. Placed on top of priority for helpful assistance. Hotel is beautiful and has many nearby amenities. pool was clean and had plenty of towels. Was allowed to park motorcycle under canopy.

i had a very nice stay but a member going to my daughters wedding had a very bad experience after leaving his room to come back to get what he missed to find the handyman going through his families stuff . police were brought in to fill out a report it was taken care of fast and the manager took care of the families needs

We stopped here while traveling through. Little confusion on finding the right road to get to it, but is in a good location, near food. Comfortable beds, very clean rooms, friendly staff. Even though its next to the interstate, it was quiet enough for us to rest well.

Generally this was a very nice stay. The bathroom was somewhat small and limited space but the overall room was fine. There was a distinct perfume smell in the room which I found to be undesirable and the A/C unit cycled all night from high to low to off which was disturbing. The breakfast service was good and well stocked and did not lack anything. The staff was great.

We stayed one night on our first stop of our vacation. Nice clean rooms. Very quiet. Nice soft beds. Excellent breakfast buffet. I really can't say anything bad about this hotel. We enjoyed our stay very much. I would highly recommend. Excellent location. Great price.

I travel a lot and this BW was the cleanest and freshest yet. Nice price and they did a wonderful job. Computer worked, printer worked, and room was very clean and bed was outstanding for comfort. Outside pool, patio and grounds, all clean and attractive. Nice job!

Though this property is older and not updated, you get a clean room and good breakfast. Yes, it smells musty when you walk in the front door, but people at the counter are friendly and happy to give you a good rec for dinner. The beds haven't been replaced in a while, and the king bed I had was very broken in on one side but not as sagging on the other. I stayed here a few years ago because it's $20-30 cheaper than the other motels in this area. That's still the case. Would I stay here again? Maybe?

The breakfast was suitable for various taste preferences. Ray was very attentive to the pool maintenance, which seemed to be the most desirable place for all guests. Also, the multiple amenities like an outdoor grill, laundry room, and business center made a business traveler feel welcomed. The hotel is near restaurants that are great for quick bites. The general manager was quite knowledgeable and appreciative upon checkout. Lastly, the proximity to the Veterans Hospital also made this property easily handicapped friendly.

Room is nice, however VERY moldy smell from both tub faucet and bathroom sink faucet. A/C filters were dirty & I had to rinse them in tub. No TV channel listing in the room binder directory, but one sent up to our room. We are on 3rd floor...probably never stay here again when we travel Florida to midwest Spring & Fall.

This experience was a great one. The rooms were very clean and the service was excellent on all levels. Sleep was sweet in the moe than comfortable beds, which were roomy and well dressed. The lobby was very cozy and invited con-versation between the other guests in the hotel. It was a very warm and hospitable atmosphere. Given the opportunity I would book in this hotel again when I attend the next camp meeting.

We went to stay for 1 night for concert. We requested room by friends. They put us in a room no air. Was being charged and room smelled really bad! Went to front desk she put us on 3rd floor not even offered move friends too. We had to find cart move luggage again. We wanted to see our friend perform on stage was late and had planned to go to hot tub. Not enough time because of this. Then we came in from concert wanted to order pizza and asked front desk on phone for number for pizza delivery. He said I'm on break and hung up on me so my husband and I got dressed was in Jammie's and went to front desk he was gone. So I wrote complaint and called on Monday the lady who is manager never returned my call after talking to her boss so I called back just now she was rude said well you got half off already when booked room so we can't do anything. I'm sorry but I feel they should .. Not our fault what their employees are lacking. After all .. Your customers are your job! If they aren't happy they will not return or suggest this hotel to others. Never will stay here again!

To all my friends who are on the road most of the time if you are in this town do stay at this location, I am positive that you will enjoy the stay and the hospitality with the smiling staff on the front desk. ENJOY.

Our room was clean, spacious and quiet - no noise through the walls. The beds were comfortable and had tons of pillows. The breakfast room was well appointed with a large selection of choices. All the amenities like the pool, hot tub and fitness room were functional, clean and not crowded. Really, what more could you want in an under $100 night hotel? Oh, and the staff were very friendly and courteous too.

I'll do a pros and cons. Pro: clean, priced good, nice lobby, friendly staff, pool, spa, hot shower, towels that wrapped my body (rare!), wifi, hot breakfast, easy access and a good restaurant close by. Con- those tiny square pillows! Bring your own. I forgot mine.

Every person we encountered at this property was great, all were helpful, and seemed genuinely interested in making our stay as pleasant as possible. Room was clean, breakfast was very good and kept replenished, girl in breakfast area was extremely hard worker and very friendly. Would recommend this Motel to anyone.

The hotel was very nice and still had a new feel to it. The lobby was a welcome relief from the heat outside and that staff was very helpful. Conveniently located close to I-57, it was relatively quick to get in and out of. Great experience overall!

This hotel was clean and comfortable, easily accessible from the interstate, quiet, friendly, had a good breakfast. Close to gas stations and restaurants. Everything one could want when on the road. We will stay there again when going that way.

Stayed in room 103 near the pool. The room had a mold, and/or, mildew smell. No I didn't report it. The smell was so prevalent, (even in the hallway), I assume the management knew. Also, even though the motel is right off the interstate, you must navigate a maze of other hotels and businesses to get to it. I'll pass the next time I'm in town.

Okay folks, those of u who follow me know I am old retired. This place Is a must stay hotel at least for 1 evening. After long day driving with my HONEY we stopped here at 1730. They had an indoor pool (warm for the grandchildren & a hot tub next to it for us) stay on 1 floor, easy access to hot tub. 3rd floor was a pain. Michael of staff was excellent. They had DVD movies to rent for $3. What a treat! Text me for more. Next morn, had freed breakfast hot waffles, eggs, sausages & off we went to lake Geneva Wisc.

This hotel was one of the most reasonably priced hotels in the Marion/Carbondale but with good reviews so my wife and I decided to give it a shot and I'm glad we did. The staff were all friendly and helpful and the room was clean. It's not a fancy hotel (standard chain hotel fare) but seems to be well maintained. The breakfast was more than I expected. It included eggs and bacon and sausage gravy and biscuits! I would definitely stay here again.

A relatively new motel, clean, quiet, right off the highway. The rooms are spacious and well equipped and the staff efficient and friendly. Not much to do in Marion, nor many good places to eat, but Carbondale is a mere 20 miles away and there are many more restaurants there. If you're on your way form one pace to another, This is a good place to stay.

This was a great rest spot from traveling. Easy location to find, right of interstate. Warm greeting at check in, clean area. Nice Rooms, pool and fitness areas. Full breakfast was nice. The 20"s Hideout Steak House within walking distance to this Hotel was great.

Stopped here on a drive to Memphis, TN from Chicago for one night. We called in advance since we were looking for a hotel with smoking rooms. This hotel seemed to be the only one in the area offering smoking rooms. However, we were told there were no smoking rooms available with 2 queen beds; only one with a king. We considered staying in a non-smoking room with 2 queen beds and asked if we could get a rollaway bed for it but were told we could not due to it being a fire hazard. They said we could have a rollaway in the smoking room with the 1 king bed, so we went for it. Check in was easy and our room was on the first floor right near the entrance. The room itself was super small. With the rollaway bed (which was horrible and squeaked all night) laid out, there was barely any room to walk in the room. I would think it was just as much of a fire hazard as anything! There was dirt and dust behind the bed end table and the room smelled horrible. I understand it would smell because it was a smoking room, but add the smell of body odor to that and it was disgusting. TV did not have many good stations to watch. King bed was comfortable. Water pressure in shower was better than expected, but the bathroom itself was tiny. Good that the sink was outside the bathroom so 2 people could get ready at the same time. Overall, we would not stay here again and we could not wait to get out. I am giving it 2 stars because the staff was friendly. But we paid $100 for one night plus $10 extra for the rollaway (total cost $110) and that was a ridiculous amount of money to pay for such a small room that was not very clean and smelled horrible. We did not eat the free breakfast in the morning, so I cannot review that.

My Daughter and I stayed for 9 days. We were very happy with the accommodations. The breakfast offered was yummy. The House Keeping staff was excellent. The check in and out staff very pleasant. Over all if there was a higher rating of 10 I would give them a 20.

My family and I were very comfortable here. We enjoy the breakfast in the morning. And the great location for getting around the area. The staff was very professional and helpful anything we needed they made sure we had it and assisted us with a smile. Check in was a breeze and so was our check out.

The hotel is very good, the check out lady was short with us when we checked out but was not rude. The room was very clean and up to date as was the rest of the hotel. Over all worth the money we spent. We didn't use the fitness center but it seemed like it was also well maintained. The wifi was spotty at times, but it wasn't a big deal as we were only there one night.

We made our reservation in December of 2015 for a graduation of May 2016. We were assigned room 111 which is a handicap accessible room for a rate of $139 plus tax for the night. As soon as I walked in I smelled a terrible smell. It swelled like an armpit. I walked right back to the front desk and complained. Sorry, we're booked solid and cannot change your room. After I kept saying that it was a terrible smell I was not offered any solution other than a can of smoke deodorizer spray. So we doused the room and I just had to deal with the odor. I think it's related to the shower drain being in the middle of the bathroom floor and if someone had a wheelchair it would track this water back onto the carpet in the room. There was no DVD player and when we asked the GM about it he laughed it off saying that they have a tendency to "walk off". So I'm so mad that we paid $150 a night for a tiny room that only one queen sized bed, no chair or couch and smelled so bad that I had to spray it down. I want to say that the spray did NOT take away the smell and my husband complained that the spray stunk too. BEWARE! Lousy customer service!

I stayed at this Hotel for one night while in the area for business. This was a nice clean hotel with very friendly customer service. The room was spacious and had a fridge and microwave in it. The breakfast was the typical continental type hotel breakfast nothing spectacular but it is free. Overall if in the area again I would stay at this hotel. The friendly staff, clean rooms and reasonable rates are all reasons to return.

I come to Marion on business a couple of times a year and always stay at this hotel. The place is always clean, serves a good breakfast, and the staff is friendly. The rate is excellent for what you get. One of these days I'll have to try the pool!

We discovered this motel on line and made our reservations on line which saved us some money. The hotel is pretty easy to get to and is next to the expressway, but we did not hear any noise in our room. The decor is up to date and the room was nicely decorated but not too roomy. They had flat screen TVs and WiFi and a couple of computers are available for guests across from the check in desk. We were on the 3rd floor so it was nice and quiet.

This hotel stay included a really exceptional room, helpful and friendly staff, a breakfast that included many options (and did not have TV blaring front and center) and a nice pool with whirlpool. We will probably try to include whenever traveling in this part of the country.

We were not able to use the amenities as we were just there to sleep. and get back on the road. The bed was comfortable, shampoo great... Great breakfast fast and easy, saved us time so we didn't have to stop somewhere else for breakfast.. Very happy with the stay.

If you can't book a room in Carbondale this is a great place to stay. Right off I-57. The breakfast was excellent. The pool just big enough to swim and heated! The price of hotels in Marion is far cheaper then in Carbondale. Near by quality restaurants.

Had my three grandchildren and one of there friends. Had my two sons and one of there wife's with us. The first night there the hot tub was down and was not fixed until the last night of our stay. The pool was closed all day the second day. When I approached the manager for some type of compensation he refused.will be staying elsewhere next year during tournament

The desk staff helped us find a wonderful winery to visit, printed out a map and suggested a great restaurant that we loved. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. Great location close to activities and restaurants.

I had back sugery in January my wife and i atayed for 4 nights. The staff was very understanding with my condition and very helpful. The room was very clean and easy to get around in. My wife stayed 3 nights when i had my sugerynd they were very helpful to her.

It was a great place to stop in for an overnight break from traveling on the road. Everything was great at the Best Western. The only thing I could complain was the weak Wi-Fi connection, but it was no big deal to me.

I came to visit my son and we needed a room with enough space for my other children. The room was clean, fluffly pillows, internet, dvd, microwave frig, everything you would need at home. Plus the exrtras an indoor pool and a delicious breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay there.

The staff is great!! Can't say enough how friendly they were- starting with check-in and finishing with the breakfast staff in the morning. Breakfast was very good and plentiful. A couple of restaurants within walking distance for a quick dinner upon arrival.

Medical emergency asked for assistance with bags, only to be told I would have to wait 1.5 hours for another staff member to come in on a busy Sunday morning when there was only one staff on duty. Friday night when I checked in same story only one staff on duty.

It had your basic amenities and comfortable for an overnight stay. Room was clean and breakfast had a wide variety of items to choose from. Close to the interstate exit, with a couple of restaurant choices nearby, along with ample motel parking.

Stayed while visiting in southern Illinois. Room was well-appointed, with fridge and microwave. Bed very comfortable. Bathroom slightly small, but the sink was outside of the bathroom. Our only negative was what we like to call the Goldilocks Effect...the pool was too cold, hot tub too hot. However, we would definitely stay here again.

The Best Western Plus in Marion Illinois was a pleasant place to stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable The staff was very helpful. Amber at the front desk had suggestions for dining at a location close to the hotel.

This motel was on our short list after checking trip advisor. We were greeted by friendly and courteous staff upon checking in, the rooms were clean, and the beds were comfortable. The only negative I can say for our room was, if there was no outside lighting the room was a little to dark for my liking. Breakfast was one of the best hot breakfast bars I've enjoyed when staying at motels. If we are back in Marion we will make sure this is the first place we check for availability.

Upon checking in the staff was very nice and we checked in early with no problem. Our room was clean, and the beds sleep very good Elevator needed cleaning it wasn't bad when we checked in but the next morning when checking out it was pretty dirty had food in the floor. We travel to Florida in February every year and this is the fourth time we stayed at the Best Western Plus Hotel. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and everything works well. We always book through a discount travel site, so the price is also very good!
