Best Western Plus Horseheads - Elmira

An excellent stop on our road trip. Everything was sparkling clean and everyone was pleasant and efficient. The breakfast offerings were plentiful, and the dining area was spacious and airy. A heads up: The surrounding parking area — not part of the hotel property but you must go through to get to the hotel — is full of major potholes!

We stayed one night - 4th of July tourism. Room grade - A fairly modern hotel. Rooms cleaned well, making for a good night's stay. Walls are paper thin, one downside. Breakfast area - Here's where the “1” star rating comes in. Can anyone ask where's the health inspector? The area designed is insufficient for the volume of people in the hotel, causing a lack of sanitary conditions from people overlapping one another. The workers were overwhelmed. Food re-resupply was insufficient and the food itself of poor quality. Amazing that BW built this area post-Covid. It would be worth the money for BW to get some basic Lean training if they continue to offer Breakfast. For me, the breakfast area ruined the stay. I will not stay at a BW for sometime given how poorly the hotel executes a key part of why people choose them.

Very clean and well kept hotel. Rooms are good size, and furniture is clean and not worn out. Wifi is painfully slow,( less than 3mbps), and ethernet plugs in the rooms don't work. Nice hotel, but don't plan to work while you're there.

My husband and I came here to visit Corning Glass Museum for our anniversary and spent the night here. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this hotel. Starting off with the front desk clerk, he was amazing. The hotel is spotless and the rooms are spacious. We stayed in a king room. Bathroom was spotless as well. Nice clean smell in the hotel and our room as well. Hardy breakfast (eggs, sausage, waffles, cold and hot cereals, toast, bagels, yogurt, fresh fruit, danish, muffins and the list goes on and on. The staff was efficient replenishing the breakfast items before the dishes emptied. Just a fantastic stay overall and I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area. We will definitely stay here again! 😊

This Best Western Plus was absolutely impeccable. Clean… every square inch of the walls seemed freshly painted and rooms were sparkling clean. The best part was being greeted when I was just inside the front door by the front desk person named Lee. He went above and beyond to make our stay perfect and made us feel very welcomed to be there. The breakfast was good and a typical Best Western style breakfast…scrambled eggs, sausage patties, and pretty much everything else. If all Best Westerns were this nice, and a person like Lee to greet you at the front door, they would put every hotel in America out of business.

We stay at Best Westerns, because we think we know what to expect. There were multiple signs throughout this hotel threatening to fine and evict guests if they make noise. But what counts as too much when you can hear everything? After we received a loud banging on our floor from below shortly into the first evening, I spent the rest of my stay at this hotel trying to confine the kids to one of the beds. They had not even been running. We could also hear the guests above us. The pool was down for maintenance over half our stay, so we could not tire the kids out that way or spend our time there. This hotel was supposed to be the relaxing part of our trip, but we could not relax. It's not even old! Whoever built this one cut some corners. It IS at a good distance/price combination for Corning/Watkins Glen/Ithaca, which is why we booked it.

It's a new hotel, already a plus, but the staff made it a great experience. Our room was spacious, comfortable and afforded us a great night of peace and sleep. Good linens and towels. Breakfast was beyond the norm, and I would stay here again if only for that amazing coffee machine (mocha, cappuccino, latte on demand all with decaf options). Pool and fitness rooms were beautiful (no time to enjoy this trip), and the restaurant is scheduled to be in operation in the coming year. I thought it nice there is a common area off the main lobby, separate from the breakfast room, that has high tops, comfy seating and a fireplace. What a great amenity. Convenient to highways, shopping and dining. Staff was welcoming, personable and professional. We will stay here again when we return next year.

Nice king bed room, and it was clean, with plenty of space. There also were plenty of electrical outlets where they were needed. All of the staff were pleasant and helpful. I prefer a firm bed for my back. The bed in the room wasn't perfect, but was good enough for a few days. The switch by the bed for turning off the lamp by the doorway was a nice feature. To see a guide for the TV channels, there isn't a button on the remote that takes you there, and there actually are two listings. Use channel 10-1 for the lower channels and 30-1 to see what's on the higher premium channels. Right in the middle of an interstate and two major roadways; so, yes, there's some noise from truck traffic and such at night, though it's quick and easy to get on the road to our destinations. During our 4-day stay the hotel was almost empty, but when the room directly above ours was occupied the sound of their walking around came through the ceiling. I liked that the sink was outside the room housing the shower and toilet. The mirror over the sink was large, but the lamp over the mirror was too high for shaving. Having the large closet right across from the sink also was convenient. The showerhead was good, but there wasn't enough water pressure/volume for it to be effective. Also, though the shower pan looked like it was a standard width, the glass door and handle encroached into the area requiring me to stand sideways to wash. There was a small hook on the back of the bathroom door for hanging towels, but they didn't dry well there. It was a large room; so a few hooks spread across the wall, or a few towel bars, would have been appreciated. We did appreciate that they're still using small bars of soap instead of the liquid soap in bottles that so many hotels now provide. The soap had a nice citrus scent and my wife liked the shampoo they provided. HVAC was another struggle at first. Though high temps outside were in the mid-40s this week, we came into our room with the air conditioning on and set to 64. Not a big deal to flip the unit to heat. Getting it to hold a consistent temperature through the night was the struggle. We'd wake up in the middle of the night with the room too cold. When we tried bumping up the thermostat a degree or two, we'd wake up with it too hot in the room. We found that it worked best if we had the fan set to high and set to stay on to keep circulating the air. Once we figured that out, we still had some minor fluctuations but could live with it. But throughout our stay the floor throughout the room was cold, especially the bathroom and vanity area. Though they list only that they offer a continental breakfast, they do have a couple hot plates that they used for scrambled eggs and breakfast meat at the end of the week, which was appreciated. Without the eggs and meat, it's a carb-heavy breakfast. And with so few people there this week, the bread products weren't fresh. I thought I'd have an english muffin with our last breakfast, but it was hard; so I opted for toasted bread instead. The scrambled eggs were good. The batter for the waffles also was good. And I liked having the granola and dried cranberries with the yogurt. There are plenty of tables and places to sit throughout the lobby to have breakfast or enjoy some time outside the room. If you want an excellent breakfast for not a lot of money, we recommend The Diner on Ithaca Rd only a few minutes away. The pool is small and only a few feet deep, but might be appreciated in the Summer. It was only operational the first couple days we were there, then was out of service for the remainder of our stay. There's a nice lit sitting area out back, but there isn't a way to get out there and back in without having to walk around from the side of the hotel. A closer door to get in, even if we'd have to go through the pool area, would be appreciated. There was a door from the pool to the sitting area, but no way to unlock the door to get in from the outside. This also means that if you park out back you'll need to walk to one of the side entrances to get in. There's plenty of parking, but the spaces are a little small. We only had a midsize pickup truck, but even it was too long for a single space. Thankfully we only had a max of 11 cars/trucks there during our stay and everyone gave each other plenty of room. We did see a couple chargers for EVs. They have a number of meeting rooms on the first floor. That, combined with the large lobby, would make this a good location for a family reunion or some other event where a lot of people want to get together. This location is convenient for trips into Elmira and Corning, and short easy drives to Hammondsport, Watkins Glen, Ithaca, and Owego. If you want a nice dinner, we highly recommend The Hill Top Inn and Restaurant just outside Elmira. If needed, there's a Walmart Supercenter and a number of other stores and a mall nearby.

Had a marvelous several days' stay. Staff was always friendly and responsive to needs. We opted for a suite to have room to spread out and found it a very good value. Breakfast was well staffed and prepared with different hot options each morning. A commercial coffee machine is available with many options at any hour of the day. The bed was comfortable and the room temperature controls were easily adjusted. Would definitely stay again.

Modern hotel. Clean. Big rooms ( family of 4 can stay in 1 room). However - no laundry self service (even though it's written in their site). No safe in the room and no safe service in front office (keep you valuables with you ☹️)

Very nice clean hotel, great location for food, and ease of getting back on the highway. Unfortunately, the lounge was under construction while we were there. Breakfast was adequate.

So many little things wrong. First and foremost, thin walls, thin floors!! You can hear literally everything from the rooms and hallways above! (We were on the 2nd floor) Just walking people sounds like they are stomping up and down the hall and there's literally nothing you can do about it. Kept us up past 12am and woke us during the night. Then could hear kids screaming and jumping in the room above us. Just very cheap construction. Bathroom faucets were backwards so very hot water came blasting out of the cold water tap. Mattress was cheap and super broken down. Strange for a “new” place. Breakfast ran out of eggs at 7am and they weren't replaced for over 30 minutes. Just all these little things were an inconvenience. Wouldn't stay again

Best team ever! The hotel is great, new, very clean, and very spacious. But the best part is the team. Everyone we interacted with is so incredibly pleasant and helpful, always going above and beyond. A special call-out to Freddie and Wendy. Thank you for making our large family gatherings in your lobby so very special. You were both so accommodating to hosting us night after night so we could spend quality time together. This is the second time this year that we've needed a welcoming space for our large group and you didn't miss a beat. We are so very grateful for your amazing hospitality. We'll definitely be back!

We stayed for two nights while exploring Watkins Glen and the vineyards. The location is great! Close to a shopping mall and while it was close to the major highways it was quiet inside the room. Room was well stocked and very very clean. The breakfast was decent and service was fantastic. My husband left his AirPods in the room after we checked out and they were kind enough to locate them and send them back to him.

New construction, well appointed furniture, comfortable beds/pillows, Very clean! kuerig in room, Nescafé in breakfast area. Waffles are yummy! Friendly and accommodating staff. Quiet hotel - next to highway and near airport, but never heard outside noice. Close to shopping

Great property located just off interstate Near Corning. Inviting lobby, comfortable bed, oversized room, huge bathroom with sink located outside of shower/commode area for privacy (water pressure perfect). Good breakfast to get your day started- pleasant staff- well lit parking. As another reviewer stated there is not a sign on the main road so the entrance is alittle tricky but you can see the building with signage on it from the road (it's behind a closed Friendly's restaurant). The only thing I would change (and it's very picky I know) is to have BW branded pens in the room. Other than that do not change a thing!!!

This establishment is fairly new and very clean and comfortable. The lobby area is very welcoming as a place to sit with friends and family. There are ample breakfast options. I particularly enjoyed the hot beverage machine available all day and night. The pool was a comfortable temperature and very clean. Great hotel for a quick stop-over!

A group of us, 4 senior adult couples, stayed here for two nights on our way from Maryland to Toronto. We used this hotel as the base to visit Watkins Glen and Ithaca. All four rooms were on the fourth floor and we were all pleased throughout our stay. The entire hotel was recently renovated. Everything was clean and functional. Our rooms were big, clean, nicely furnished, good beddings, and quiet. The front desk and breakfast staff were very polite and pleasant. The cleaning staff were very polite and smiled to us too. Highly recommended!

Good location from highway, stores / restaurants /nearby Rooms were clean with enough supplies. Pool was nice , as was the patio area where our little group met to chat. Staff was friendly and hardworking. Breakfast was good & a good variety

We always stay at Best Westerns because: (1) Nice, accommodating staff, (2) The rooms are always clean, (3) There is almost always free breakfast, indoor pool & free parking, and (4) We've NEVER seen or experienced bugs of any kind. This hotel was no exception.

We stayed at Best Western during 2 nights . Hotel is conveniently located to explore Watkins Glen Park and Seneca lake - easy 30 minutes drive . Good value for the money for the last minute weekend trip. The hotel is new and clean and has nice outside seating area.

Good hotel , very clean, I recommend well this hotel. Because the hotel is situated at a good location, practical to arrive and leave. A little more noise related to climatisation system and nearby the express way. A very good pool for swimming.

The BEST hotel I have stayed in, everything is new in room and bathroom, HUGE room, large TV, lots of charger outlets, clean/spotless, great walk-in shower with thick glass doors, service was great/friendly. No problems. Would stay here again without question!!

This is a beautiful new property. However, there are not closets in the room, a MAJOR inconvenience which in itself will preclude us from booking here again. The breakfast was boring, the same three days in a row.

This hotel is new, and looks spectacular. The lobby is really welcoming, fireplace, TV, lots of seating area. I wished I was staying longer, it would have been fun to hang out there. Rooms are very generous in size, tvs are huge! Didn't interact with the staff much, but when I did it was professional. Breakfast was great - there are waffle machines! Would definitely return.

We visit the area often as our daughter and family live nearby and have tried various motels in the vicinity. This has been the best one so far as it is clean, quiet and the staff are very pleasant and attentive. They work hard to keep things in order and the rooms spotless. We will continue to stay at this motel in our future travels.

This hotel is beautiful, new, has ample parking nicely landscaped and has an indoor pool. We had a very pleasant stay. The room was very spacious, breakfast was excellent with a nice variety, staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room even had a microwave. Complementary water upon departure.

Do not stay at this hotel for the pool, it was not chlorinated well. My son got a sinus infection after swimming in it and my daughter had to repeatedly wash her hair to get the smell out of it. The hallways were hot and did not seem air conditioned. The lobby had a bad smell, maybe because of the pool which was located nearby. Would NOT recommend this hotel, there are better stays for the price.

One of the newer additions, this hotel has pleasant, modern decor and very nice rooms. Bed was especially comfy. Loved the light filtering shade instead of sheer curtains to make the room darker. Staff is very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast area is spacious with several hot options as well as cold. Perfect location to visit Corning Museum, Rockwell Gallery, wine tasting tours, and Watkins Glen Park.

I love this Best Western site. It is close to the Interstate, restaurants and shopping. Employees are always friendly and helpful.

The hotel had great accommodations and wonderful customer service. It was in a great location close to everything. It was very clean. Had a nice pool and a fitness center. The lobby was very large with 3 tvs

Darn, this would've been rated a 5 if it wasn't for the fire alarm going off and everyone having to evacuate. Turns out it is a faulty system and it kept going off. It was cold outside and we actually followed the evacuation order on our door, until we saw other guests congregating in the lobby. Brrrr….very cold outside. The alarm was loud, woke us up- so we grabbed our coats, keys, phones, room key…and evacuated. The fire department showed and determined we could return to our rooms, but at that poly we were awake and couldn't go back to bed. I really wanted a good night sleep. A family member was in the ICU and we were exhausted. Other than that, there were no issues. I had a queen suite. This room is fairly large with a little sitting area, microwave and fridge. The bathroom is modern and clean. Beds are comfortable. Hotel is a decent distance to the hospital and also restaurants, mall and shops. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Kudos to the young man working the front desk during the fire alarm chaos. I think he did a great job keeping calm and keeping guest in order and safe. He deserves a raise! I will definitely stay here again if in the area, and highly recommend it. Just please fix that alarm system.

The staff at this hotel is so friendly and welcoming. The hotel is fairly new and everything is upscale. The standard size room is bigger than I expected and it has a big screen tv. There is also a great K-cup coffee setup in the rooms as well.

Hotel was very clean, with a free full breakfast and indoor pool! Will be staying here again for our next trip! Location is very easy to get too right off of I-88. Staff is friendly and very helpful. Rooms were immaculately clean

Clean and new. Pool was so nicely warm. Many great restaurant choices a couple of miles down the road in the town of Horsehead. All employees were polite and acted as if they were glad I had chosen their hotel.

The decor and cleanliness of the lobby and rooms were outstanding. The staff was very helpful to make certain our four days with them and seeing the nearby attractions were enjoyable. The breakfast offers were delicious and nutritious.

Our four night stay at the Best Western Plus Horseheads Inn was a wonderful one. The staff was friendly, efficient and very accommodating. The hotel and our room were incredibly clean. The location was excellent for traveling to various areas in the Finger Lakes. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Newer property so everything from furniture, equipment, linens, etc. were in newer condition. The beds are super comfortable. Staff is amazing. Breakfast has the normal offerings. The hotel itself is near the highway and it's surroundings look a little rundown, but definitely safe. Would stay here again. About 30 mins from Ithaca.

My wife and I were visiting the area and chose this place because it was new, had a pool, a gym and offered breakfast. I should have turned around when I saw so many boys in baseball uniforms entering with their parents. Room was clean and bed was comfortable but it was nothing special. We went to the pool and were only there for a few minutes when it was overrun by screaming kids. The gym was also crowded with kids and no adult supervision. The kids also crowded into the lobby. Noise continued well into the evening despite a hotel rule of “quiet time” after 8 pm. Ok so the parents should have controlled their kids…but they didn't and the hotel staff didn't seem to do anything even after we asked them to. I had to move our car when the kids decided to play baseball in the parking lot. The final straw was the morning breakfast…the kids raided the breakfast bar to stock up for their baseball games later that day. Because the room was more expensive than others in the area, I suggested to the hotel staff that we get a reduction of the price…got nothing. We could have stayed downtown in a riverfront condo (Airbnb) for half of what we paid, and next time in the area, will do that.

Here for 4 days over graduation. A brand new hotel opened last month! Staff was very nice and we got an excellent price over the internet just two months ago. Rooms are new and fresh. Went to Roadhouse Grill nearby for dinner. Like the coffee machine in the room and near the front desk.

The hotel recently opened; however, its phone system is not yet fully functional. The breakfast offered is rather modest, and there is no hot water available. Regrettably, the self-made pancake was spoiled. Furthermore, several empty containers can be found, and only limited provisions are provided. Finally, the water pressure leaves much to be desired.
