"Great Staff/Clean Hotel!"

One of our roofing crews stayed a few days at this hotel recently. The crew supervisor had an issue with his room, approached the front desk & was immediately taken care of. He said the rooms (4 total) were very clean & the service was great!

The hotel met all our needs. The rooms were clean and good. We stayed only one night. The next morning breakfast was also very good and we had again all we needed. The staff was very pleasant and professional.

"Cheap Overnight Stop"

Another visit to a Best Western. Ok room but what I expected for the $. The Room's AC was left on @ 64 degrees when the outside Temp was under 40. Took forever to get heat out so I looked at the Air Filter and saw it looked like a Dryer Lint Trap! Probably a safety hazard! After cleaning it out heat started to flow and got the room comfortable after an hour. The Suite alsohad a nice kitchen but there was a whole head of Garlic in the Drawer so we could tell it wasn't cleaned very well since another guest stayed? It seems the staff doesn't spend too much time making sure rooms are, safe, clean, ready and comfortable.

I have never stayed in a place that was so awful that I wouldn't take a shower in it in the morning. When I opened the refrigerator door, I was hit with an awful odor. Things were broken and the place needed a deep clean. If it wasn't so late and I wasn't so tired, I would have demanded my money back and gone somewhere else. We were only there over night and left early the next morning.

"Weird location"

We booked this room via phone while on a road trip through Virginia. The facility seemed clean, and the room was comfortable. This hotel, though, is plunked right in the middle of a bunch of used car dealerships and mechanical companies. the front desk person who checked us in could not tell me if Ashland was north or south of where the hotel was (it was north), even though she said she also worked in Ashland! And I wasn't really sure whether there was a skunk outside the next morning, or whether there were people smoking the wacky weed in their rooms, because the hallway kind of smelled like either of those. We mentioned it to the front desk staff who seemed to be aware of it.

Dirty room, with very dirty chairs. Bathroom had black mold. Dirty A/C system. People who work at this hotel and/or own this hotel you need to have some respect for yourself and for the people that is coming to your hotel. Poor maintenance. Definitely not a Plus Hotel by Best Western. I'd just suggest another hotel. This one would not had been my choice if I had known what is really happening inside this hotel.

Huge and clean rooms. Nice and clean pool area. The neighborhood is not the best. Breakfast was okay. It's perfect if you're looking for a one night stop in this area. I'll stop by again when I'm in the area.

The hotel was nice and the city of Glen Allen felt like home during our vacation for the Richmond Nascar Race. We were happy to come back to Best Western to sleep after long days out in the sun. We will be back!

"Fanily Reunion"

The location was near where the reunion was held and near I-95 for the return trip yet far enough away no road noise. The location was above where rush hour traffic came into play for our return trip home on Monday. For the money the establish was a good value.

Hotel is very well located. Rooms are comfortable and ample. Breakfast is poor; many choices not replenished, and what is available can hardly be called a full breakfast. There is plenty of parking space

Hotel was very clean and comfortable. The staff were wonderful very kind and pleasant. We were greeted very warm and our stay was above our expectations . Hot breakfast every morning was nice. I would definitely stay there again when I'm down that way. I recommend this Best Western Plus Hotel.

Everyone at the hotel was very helpful and professional. The pool was kept in beautiful condition and towels were provided. The bed was very comfortable and room service was on point. We had asked for an extra pillow and was given it to us in minutes. We ended up having to stay an extra day and there was no issue.

"Don't count on the breakfast…."

Empty food containers were not replenished during our 30 Plus minutes in the breakfast area. Biscuits that was left was really hard. No forks. Kids was not happy. Pool was very dirty. Seemed the filter wasn't working in the pool. AC in workout room was broke. Hotel room was nice though.

It's definitely NOT a Plus hotel. We had 2 rooms. Soap scum on shower walls, mirror had water toothpaste splatters all over it. Refrigerator in both rooms barely was cool. The one smelled awful and made room smell along with the part of the plumbing in tub fell off. Very outdated and just a disappoinment. They need to take the Plus away for cleanliness. On a positive note the pool area was nice along with the breakfast area and staff.

Stopped here when traveling and had a great experience. Very Clean. Excellent hot breakfast assortment. Pleasant staff. Clean rooms and working amenities. The parking lot was very well lit and they had luggage racks to use to take your stuff to your room.

"Not very safe"

There were tweekers in the parking lot who entered the hotel through an unlocked exterior door. Someone tried to enter my room using a master key card in the middle of the night. The room wasn't very clean and my key card kept deactivating. I rented a kitchen room but was unable to use it as there were no dishes, etc in any of the cabinets. I was supposed to stay 20 nights and checked out after 2.

The hotel was very clean and the staff was friendly. The breakfast was a wide variety and it tasted good as well. The rooms were a little dated but the beds and pillows were very comfortable. All in all a 4 out of 5

Good clean room. Breakfast was a classic grab and go cereal, oatmeal, waffles, juice, etc. great water pressure as well. Front desk was helpful in checking me in and check out was just dropping off the key cards. Good stuff

Large clean room and large clean bathroom. Room was on 3rd floor and was a king sized bedroom with a couch and kitchenette. There was a full sized refrigerator, stove top, sink, and microwave. A good hot breakfast was provided each morning . The location affords easy access to Richmond. Great value for a room in the area.

"Not Best Western standards"

stayed only one night, thank goodness. Check-in was smooth, but not a very friendly person, said "ID, credit card, initial here, sign here, got pets?, elevator on left, breakfast 6-10am, and said room number" not pleasant or even a smile ! Room was ok, but bathroom tub had mold (YUCK) on walls. Breakfast was okay, nothing special. personally I don't like Styrofoam cups or plates. We should have traveled a little further on I95 and stayed at another Best Western (we are Gold Rewards members). Glen Allen, VA Best Western Plus is definitely NOT up to Best Western standards that we are accustomed to.

We are Best Western Rewards members and BW is our go-to for overnight and week trips. This is the first time in 12 years we are very disappointed. Last night we stayed at the Best Western Plus off I-95 in Glen Allen, VA. We came in at midnight. Front desk service was very pleasant and lobby and breakfast area looked nice. Room was large but not decorated or put together like the photos displayed on the website. Very dusty, grimy and window had not been cleaned. The bathroom shower had black mold on the wall, all over the bottom of the shower curtain and floor was filthy. Breakfast was dismal with Twinkie's, pre-packaged danishes and muffins, 2-types of cereal and white toast. Was interesting, to say the least! We should have driven the extra hour and stayed at the BW in Fredricksburg off I-95. Somewhat dated, but clean with a very nice breakfast and was not a plus and was cheaper! Extremely annoyed we used part of our points to pay for this room and we DO NOT recommend staying at the BW Plus in Glen Allen, VA.

They don't honor rates booked through Bestwestern.com. Overcharged for the room and then refused to issue credit (charged 3 times for single night stay)!!!!! Numerous calls and emails with NO RESPONSE from manager, who doesn't understand how to use computer reservation software.

This place is AWFUL! We booked the room well in advance and we were aware that the hotel was completely booked up for a marathon that weekend. When we arrived in the room, it was about 81 degrees and reeked of cigarettes. The bed was unmade and clearly had been slept in because we found hair and a bracelet under the pillow. There was food trash inthe trash can. There were used toiletries on the counter and used coffee inthe coffee pot. The tub was full of hair and dirt. DISGUSTING. I literally refused to take a shower there because it was so gross. We called the front desk around 5pm that evening and asked for our room to be cleaned since we knew we couldn't be moved to a new room due to a lack of vacancy. Front desk said they would send someone up. About an hour later we called front desk again to ask how long it would be and we were simply told “I don't know.” NO ONE ever showed up to make any acommodations or give fresh bedding or ANYTHING AT ALL. So we (barely) slept in the filth. The next morning I addressed the woman at the front desk to speak with a manager and she said she would take a note and have manager call me. I NEVER got a call. So I called again to follow up, explained all of this, and was told we would be sent a voucher in the mail for a free night at any best western for our trouble. Ok, fine. Never got a follow up call, never received this voucher or discount. So I called again a few weeks later and explained I never got it. The manager told me to send an email explaining everything that happened. So I immediately sent it, and got no response for 2 days. I happened to be in the area again so I went to the hotel in person. The manager told me “sorry, we don't do that. The woman that told you that was fired.” So I asked if we could get a refund in rewards points. No. He told me the best they could do was 50% off a night in their hell hotel. NO THANK YOU, NEVER AGAIN. I'm mad we were not taken care of in any way to make it right and I am appalled at the lack of hospitality at this hotel. Do yourself a favor, go anywhere else.

Hi, I stayed at the Best Western Plus Glen Allen and it was horrible. The Manger was very disrespectful and basically put me out with my 3 kids. He couldn't give me a reason why but I had to go. He doesn't understand his over all payment system and because of that, I was disrespected and asked to leave. I contacted customer relations but they I formed me that they couldn't OVERRIDE THE MANAGEMENT...Well as a customer who's gonna help me???

1/2 home. my second time at this location. convenient to I-95. still no breakfast only bagged on the go. For the most part staff helpful. they don't make decafe coffee have to use room coffee machine. heater /air conditioner a little loud

The rooms and bathrooms is dated could be upgraded some. The bed was very comfortable and you could smell the room was cleaned. Our appliance were in working order. Staff was attentive to our request.

When I check in to my room it was obvious the room was not cleaned. Dirt in bed, dirt in shower, trash in trash can, used coffee bags in coffee maker, bed sheets disturbed. I reported to front desk and they did not fix the problem

Tried calling the front desk all day and tonight no one answering. It says stay on the line or presss 0 for the operator. When I did both options no one answered and then it said he mailbox is full try again later. I even sent an email, but no reply.

Never told me it would be extra for a dog, no where on their site does it state that and when I called, they did not mention the extra $30. And the poop around the toilet bowl, well that kind of says it all

We spent 1 night at this hotel and that was 1 night too much. When we first entered our room, it was clear that the room had not been serviced. The bed was unmade, the kitchen was dirty and the towels were strewn in the bathroom. We had to return to the front desk for a key to another room. After unpacking, I decided to take a shower. The shower did not function at all. So we had to re-pack and move to yet another room. This room had a functioning shower but there was no remote for the TV. The girl at the front desk found a remote, but it would not change the channels. She told us that none of the rooms had more than one channel! The next morning, we went down for the grab and go breakfast. Of the four coffee thermoses available, only one was full and that was the decaf. So no coffee. On the positive side, the beds were very comfortable and the AC worked fine. However we will never return to this very poorly managed hotel again.

It was a good location and because I stayed 5 nights, I received a discount. They still do breakfast as grab and go bags, disappointing. However he's is a McDonald's nearby for a breakfast alternative.

"A Big Disappointment from Best Western"

This was our fourth big road trip and have stayed at many Best Western hotels and were never disappointed, but not so this time and we had another couple with us, requiring two rooms. Not knowing how far we'd be driving each day, we called the hotel directly to book the rooms a couple hours before arrival. By the smell of disinfectant as we walked in our room, it had been cleaned but still had a musty smell. The bed was soft, chair at desk was broken so dared not sit in it, only two towels and a face cloth, dog poop hadn't been cleaned off the entry sidewalk. Then there was "breakfast" the next morning lol. Many hotels at least now offer a modified buffet, not so many options but this hotel is acting like it's the beginning of Covid over a year ago. Only had a small brown bag with a granola bar and either an apple or orange, no bottle of water or juice even. I do understand there is a shortage of help in the hospitality business, but a little more care could have been given.

Very disappointed in this BW...NO breakfast as advertised and when I asked where breakfast was I was told "I'm damned tired of having to set this up every morning for the past 5 months". Rude behavior. I also had to ask for a roll of toilet paper because there was only a tiny amount on roll when we arrived. Not a very friendly staff. Seemed annoyed when asked a question.

The room with a kitchen was spacious and had a full-size fridge, microwave, and 2-burner stove. The bed was comfortable, everything was clean, but the breakfast was really lame. The pool area was open, but the pool was green.

Despite the price and distance from the Nascar game, this location needs to work out its problems before inviting guests to stay there, especially when traveling with families. Only breakfast provided is in a to-go bag which is a granola bar, maybe some fruit, etc. No coffee, tea, or juice despite advertising on their website about a complementary breakfast. The rooms are not cleaned often enough because there are only 2 people doing housekeeping. Do not expect your room to be cleaned, sheets changed, new toilet paper, toiletries, or towels unless you stay during the week on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Fridays. It was incredibly strange to learn this after putting the make up room sign on the door and coming back at the end of the day to an uncleaned room. If we had known this, then we would've stay someplace else.

When I made reservation 3 month earlier, we requested a ground floor room. When we checked we did not get a ground floor. When asked to be moved desk clerk said no. We are Platinum members and that meant nothing to desk clerk. We were not offered a snack bag or a bottle of water. Building is nice but a lot of items need repairing.

Motel was located very conveniently (right off of Interstate) and was very nice looking from outside Rooms were clean and spacious. Only negative was the "free breakfast" advertised with the room. Consisted of a paper bag with an apple, an orange, an extremely small pinwheel pecan pastry, and a granola bar. Almost nonexistent for all intents and purposes and definitely should not be advertised as "free breakfast" since there was no choice whatsoever and every bag contained the same thing. Patrick, at the check in/check out desk was very friendly, helpful and professional. He helped make out stay a pleasant one. Rooms were very clean and spacious and beds were comfortable.

We were given a smoking room when we booked a non-smoking room. However, they immediately gave us a non-smoking room when we asked for it. The pillows were very uncomfortable and there were only 3 pillows per bed. The grab and go breakfast was barely a breakfast. they advertised as a full breakfast. We ended up having to get breakfast at Wawa due to the lack of food they gave us. Everything else was fine and was typical of a Best Western.

This will be our go to place from now on when we visit our daughter at VCU. A short drive from downtown Richmond this hotel has super clean, spacious rooms for way less than downtown accommodations. Friendly staff. Free parking. Full size fridge and nice clean kitchenette. Great choice!

This place needs an extreme makeover. Dirty and smelly. My room smelled like an ashtray and the hallways were dirty and stinky too. No hot breakfast, just grab and go granola bar and an unripe orange. Do better Best Western.

We stayed here in June of 2021. A continental breakfast was advertised. Our continental breakfast options consisted of an orange in a brown bag and orange juice. Don't come here if you like breakfast. You will have to stop immediately after leaving the hotel which pisses of the dad in the family and sets the tone for a poor vacation experience. Also, the shower curtain was gross. In addition, your bed pillows were the size of two couch throw pillows. Bring your own pillows, shower curtain, and breakfast to this best western.

No pool, as advertised, and it should have been open since Memorial Day - so it amounts to false advertising since it hasn't been updated on the website or in room info. I was given a room that didn't have working a/c and had to call the desk, return to the desk with my dog, and all the belongings I brought to the first room, in order to be given a room with air conditioning that works. Why would you send me to a room without air conditioning??? Much unnecessary anxiety and bother, and I honestly would have chosen elsewhere if they had been honest about NO POOL.

Family was on the way to Maryland when downpour occurred and driving became unsafe. It was a Thursday night and pretty desperate. Couldn't call the motel, phone number wasn't going through (which may not have been the hotels fault). Outside smelled like weed (it was a Thursday night). Beds were awful, you could feel every spring. Room was musky despite blasting AC. Bed skirts at the beds torn. We were desperate for something close, and it worked, but I would not recommend to anyone. The gentle that checked us out was friendly. And the bathrooms were clean which is why I gave it an average score

"Definitely NOT a Plus location"

This property may have been a nicer at one time, but things have changed so much after covid. The guy who checked us in was not friendly, refused to answer the phone when he knew the room was missing items. The restroom door was rusty and old dirt lingered in the corners. I have the room a full wipe down with Clorox wipes and spray. If you want to charge phones from each bed, good luck, there is one plug. After the initial linen issue, we were instructed to leave the dirty ones outside and clean ones would be hanging on the door. No, this was not the case. Again, no answer on the front desk phone, so I had to go back downstairs for them. Some of the other guests were a little obnoxious by not wearing masks, crowding into elevator having loud parties etc. The pool was covered with a dirty, waterlogged cover. From my mom's experience staying here a few years ago, the place has gone down. Take the plus off please.

The room was not vacuumed. I found a man's sock, coins, and candy underneath the bed, and the bed skirt on the other bed was all ripped. It should have even been put on the bed. No one offer to upgrade my room or credit my bill until I left. The clerk came the night before to remove the sock.

Urine stained chair and sticky wet stuff on floor. Room had disgusting and gross unsanitary smell! All the sheets were dirty and stained - looked like blood. No pillow and pillow cases. Towels did not appear washed. DO NOT STAY!!!! This place is truly a horror show. Management refuses to call back and face his unsanitary conditions. Staff was rude, ignorant, and manipulative. No one wore face masks and the hotel halls were dirty.

"Dirty sheet! No pillow! No control of heat in room! DON'T STAY"

Nothing was good about this place from the moment I walked in the door. Grumpy woman ignored me while she talked on the phone - no acknowledgment of my existence. Once we began to check in I gave her my rewards # only to be told I could not use it. I booked through AAA and she told me I did not. I asked to speak to a manager and was told there was no manager. I asked if that meant at the moment or overall. She just repeated there is NO MANAGER! Once checked in I went to the room and it was 86 degrees. Came back down and was told that was impossible. She told me to check the thermostat. Told her I did. She proceeded to tell me I didn't know how. From there, we had to wait for her to verify the room, which she did. She moved us to another room. Sheets were dirty. Came back down again and was told I could make the bed. Asked for pillows only to be told there were none to have. She didn't want the key back to the first room so I went to get the pillows out of that room. Went down the next morning for breakfast bags and was told they didn't make enough. I normally stay in Best Westerns because of their quality but this one was awful.

Stopped at this best western for a hotel room for me and my family because I've always had great experiences with best westerns. I have received a veterans discount in the past, but when I asked about this the woman working there told me no before I even finished asking. The woman working was older and had glasses and white hair. When she approached she had a mask around her neck (totally understandable considering the current events). There was also some tables lined up in front of the front desk so that guests would be kept back at least 6 feet. As she started speaking she put her mask on, and gave myself and my sister an extremely dirty look. After inquiring about a room large enough for our family of 4, we were settled on a room and ready to pay. However, after cutting me off about the veterans discount, she then raised her voice when we said we would take the room and said “do you have face masks?!” This was after we had already spoken about the price and room options, and after she had approached us to begin with without her mask on. We explained that we didn't (where we live didn't have any, and we didn't have anything to make them with). I asked if they were mandatory and she said “no but it's what's right and you need one”. She then just stared at us until we finally left and had to get a hotel room elsewhere. Again, I understand the current situation, but we were being as careful as possible. I'm extremely upset and disappointed that we weren't able to get the room.

My family and I stayed here for a night on a drive to attend a funeral. The room was clean. It only had one washcloth and two bath towels, but that's not a big deal. The heating unit was loud when it came on so we just turned it off. Carol at the front desk was incredibly friendly and welcoming. When a guest turned in my son's misplaced tablet, she figured out who it belonged to and returned it to us. Thank you!

So it's getting late on a FL-NY drive and we decide to stay for the night around Richmond, VA. I tend not to stay in BW properties due to very uneven quality experiences, but this one was in the right location at the right price, and it was after 9pm. We check in and go to our room only to discover that it reeks of stale smoke. So I trudge back to the lobby and tell the desk clerk and he says that's bad, he'll write a note about it, says he'll discount the room rate and he gives me another room. We go to that room--it smells fine, unfortunately there are no window curtains in that room. I trudge back to the front desk and the clerk says, that's bad, he knows who's responsible for that, and he'll write a note about it. So he says he'll discount the rate some more and gives me another room. We go to that room. It smells ok and there are window curtains; unfortunately it is freezing in the room. It's 10 p.m. at this time, so I decide to just turn up the heat and see how that goes, while my wife waits in the room with her coat on. After a while the room becomes tolerable. The room was ok, but with a very outdated carpet. The real issues are with quality control (rooms coded as ready that are not) and training for the staff (at least the night desk staff). BTW, the double discount on the rate for my trouble? A whopping $6!

After settling into a room and discovering the thermostat did not work, we eventually had to be moved to another pet friendly room. As a result, we can thank housekeeping for two rooms that were clean. Rooms with kitchenette are spacious. Both rooms had sink in the bathroom with decent counter-space. Breakfast was your standard fare. 10-15 min just north of downtown Richmond. 5 min from Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden. Quiet location. Convenient to highway.

Room may be large, but totally uninteresting in decor. Firstly, you can tell the room was newly painted- but everything else was dated. Smelt funny, I sprayed the room immediately as we entered. We chose a large room to relax after a long drive. The sofa bed had a stain on it, and since we only had 1 bath towel each ( no spare cones), we got a couple towels from the fitness room to cover the sofa so we felt safe to sit on it. Also the bed was very uncomfortable. We also got the room with the kitchenette so we could eat inside. But even though it was advertised as a kitchenette, there was no cutlery, pots, kettle or anything to take advantage of a kitchen set up. Yes, a large fridge, sink,stove top, and microwave, but nothing else! The bathroom offered 1 bar of soap so you had to move from the shower to the basin with the one bar. No lotion, etc. Horrible little hotel! Just last night we were @ a Garden Inn Hilton property. It was so modern, clean and friendly. Never again I would try a Best Western- forget that this one was Plus. What a joke!

My pets and I enjoyed our one nights stay at This Best Western Hotel. The hotel staff were friendly, helpful and polite. The rates were fair and the location was convenient to I-95. A decent budget hotel but the pet friendly room that we were upcharged $60.00 for reeked-of animal urine and chemicals. The odor was so strong it burned your nostrils. We arrived at night after a long drive and had a miserable night. Skip this place with a pet.

All in all, we enjoyed our stay at the hotel for two weeks, but there is some room for improvement. The room with 2 beds and a small kitchen with fridge, freezer, microwave and stove top, but no oven, no dishwasher, no utensils or plates was spacious, comfy and clean. Pots for the kitchen could be borrowed from the front desk. The bathroom had a bathtub-shower combo and the toilet in one room. The small desk allowed me to comfortably get some work done on my laptop. Some highlights: + Good breakfast with warm items (waffles, eggs, sausages, biscuits) + Overall very clean + Quiet, in the room we couldn't hear other guests (except for people in the hallway) + Friendly staff (thanks, Julia and Jay!) + Great location: Walmart and restaurants on the same street; 20 minutes to downtown Richmond (Carytown is worth a visit), Short Pump mall, parks nearby + Decent mini-gym Some problems and suggestions: - If you cook dinner in the room, the smells would linger for quite some time, despite air conditioning and fan running. Same for smells from the hallway e.g. when smokers come in. The windows can't be opened. The front desk didn't have air freshener at hand. - No safe or safety deposit boxes. - Only disposable forks, knifes, plates and bowls in the breakfast room. This is a huge amount of waste every single day and bad for the environment if not properly recycled. It also feels very cheap and doesn't fit to the atmosphere of the hotel. - One of the buttons to call the elevator doesn't work on the 2nd floor, doors from the stairs have broken door handles - if they weren't propped open, they were really hard to open (fire exits where through a separate door though). The staff is aware of the issues, but they weren't fixed yet when we left. We would probably stay there again - it seemed to be one of the best hotels in that area. It's not the cheapest, not the most expensive, so you get what you pay for - better than average, but not perfect.

The staff was friendly upon arrival and departure. The room was not cramped, plenty of room with one kind size bed, desk and chair with ottoman. The linens were nice, bed comfortable, room and washroom clean. We did not hear other guests in the hotel even though it was quite full. The breakfast selection was a little limited but food was good, especially the warm biscuits. We would definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel to others.

Not up to the standards of other PLUS Best Westerns we have stayed in. The volume of the TV in the breakfast room was the loudest we have every heard, and we have stayed at hundreds of motels. The TV dominated the room, commanding attention, and prevented normal, early morning, quiet conversation. We mentioned it to the attendant but he only turned it down a little. Still too loud!

The check in clerk went out of her way to accommodate us. I reserved online and traveling with our cat for the first time. I didn't see how to inform of that fact. When we arrived and told her we had a cat she went out of her way to get us a room. The room was much larger than the one we reserved. We stay at Best Western whenever possible!

Room was large & comfortable, no pet odor noted. Bed was comfortable & linen clean. Lovely lady at the front desk was very friendly.I would not recommend the Popeye's nearby.2 different stays, we've gotten the take out & the chicken was petrified! We use this hotel as our half way point to & from New Hampshire to Florida.It is great for our needs.

I do not like this place at all. The breakfast is Terrible. The eggs look as rubber toys. I dare not To touch them. The attendant I On the whole l have a much better place with the Same police. The breakfast is not good at all. The eggs. Look and taste like chemical. The Attendant is not friendly.

Hotel is greedy. Does not offer late check out, they charges $10 for every hour extra. There's not even a free extra hour and charge on the next. Their front desk is always unstaffed. They have unfriendly staff and staff with attitude at the front desk. I had to wait 30 minutes just to get a copy of a key because nobody was at the front desk. And another had to wait too just to check out.

The staff was nice and the common areas of the hotel was decorated nicely and clean. However, my room wasn't so nice. It had an odor as if someone was smoking in a non-smoking room. The wash clothes were dirty; so, I had to go out and buy new ones. The tv remote did not work properly. Unable to cut the TV up or down and couldn't change the channel properly. The breakfast was not as great and very limited regarding choice.

Front desk staff was extra-ordinarily helpful, especially Carol! She helped us get situated after a long travel day. The daily free breakfast was great with eggs, sausage and waffle iron! Great place to stay with kids. Many restaurants deliver.

"Close But Not The Best"

We are heading from FL to Maine staying at Best Western Hotels along the way. This one didn't match the BW of our first night. This hotel has rooms that are interior of the building. Our assigned Room 205 had an unmistakable deodorizer covering not great smell to it. This was noticeable each time we walked in the room. Had to go to the front desk as no soap in our bathroom. The room could use some updating. Bed was comfortable. Shower worked great. Nice towels. Breakfast buffet was about equal to the first BW where we stayed, except there was no attendant around the entire time we ate. When the juice machine went out, my husband went to the front desk where someone said they would have to flip the breaker, which they did. Like I said, close to 5 star rating but not quite there yet.

Best Western agreed I would not be charged for the room because the shower and tub were non-functioning . The night clerk insisted no other rooms were available which turned out not to be true. I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company.

The only issue I had was checking out. The gentleman obviously had no idea what the definition of an email was when i asked for an electronic copy up my receipt sent to me. I told him i needed it digitally for my records and to be reimbursed. His reply was "We don't do that here". So you do not send out electronic mails with the receipts, i asked? Yeah we do that.."why didn't you say that ???" He wanted to argue with me because he doesn't know what sending a digital electronic receipt was. The rooms were clean.....great water pressure.. comfortable beds, easy parking, good location for local restaurants.

My room was comfortable and clean Staff was friendly and attentive. They made it feel like home. Definitely would stay again. Breakfast was great and included with the room. Has a pool, small gym and busineaa area with computers and a printer available. On site laundry. Dryer a bit wonky but maintenance can get it running again on a jiffy.

The room was bigger and nicer than I expected it to be. Everything was very clean, and the hotel was nice and quiet. Perfect if you need a quick stay in between traveling. It's right next to I95 and the other highways (without being right on them) so super easy to get right on the highway in the morning to keep on moving. Also close to Richmond which was nice because it was a lot cheaper than the hotels downtown but just as nice— just a 10-15 minute drive to the city.

My husband and I left for our vacation a day early. We drove till we decided to stop. We stayed here at Best Western Plus in Glen Allen. The lady who checked us in was a sweetheart. She was funny, informative and knowledgeable. Our room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. We had a pleasant nights sleep. The breakfast was great! Hot, options to choose from and delicious! I'm surprised at some reviews as I thought this was one of the better breakfasts at a hotel we have had. I also have to add that I, no fault to the staff forgot my wallet in a drawer in the room. We didn't realize this till 2 hours after we were in the road. All we did was call them and headed back. They had my wallet down at the desk and everything was there!!! We wanted to give a reward to our chamber maid but she had already left. I wound definitely stay again as I felt safe, it was clean and the staff gets my highest praise!

My room and everything associated with it were clean and comfortable. I was disappointed with breakfast. It did not meet the same standards I've seen at other Best Western Plus hotels. None of the warming trays had covers, so everything was exposed to the air. That made for dried up biscuits, gravy with a crust on top, and food not as warm as it could have been. There was an attendant, but she only a brief appearance while we were eating. In other hotels, the attendant is a constant presence and a flurry of activity.

We needed a last minute stay near Richmond. The price was right, the beds comfy, bathroom clean. But decor is odd: dark green walls, kinda weird. And one more thing, if you care about the environment, everything at breakfast is served in single use plastic.

Don't have the breakfast. You pay $10 and it's less than what one would expect. Overcooked and cold, very little choices. Room was nice and clean. Indoor Pool was too cold to swim although lovely to look at

One ice machine working and front desk not too friendly. We will never stay again.room was clean and hotel looked to be renovated also the location was close to several stores and places. To eat it was also close to my family in Ashland while there for a funeral.

The Glen Allen Inn was everything we would expect from a Best Western Plus. The location is quiet, but not far from Route 95. The room was spacious with a small kitchenette and sofa. Our king bed was a bit hard and the air conditioner was noisy, but overall the experience was good. The complementary breakfast included eggs, sausage, waffles and a variety of cold items.

Stayed 1 night, great people, super nice continental breakfast, room was fresh and clean. A family friendly hotel. Within walking distance to Walmart and many family restaurants, some are fast food and some sit down restaurants.

Everything was pretty average: breakfast, cleanliness, room size, etc. We we're a little disappointed to find that the pool advertised was an outdoor pool and not open until memorial day. Staff seemed nice. Not the best deal ever, but not the worst either.

We have stayed here before when we have been in the area. Very nice, clean hotel with friendly staff. Carol on the evening staff and Kevin on the night staff are great!! It is close to many attractions. The only thing I would suggest is to put a small bench out in the smoking area...be very much appreciated! Will definitely stay here when we return to Richmond next year.

We needed a room for a few days while home improvements were going on. Our room was large with a full kitchen. Very clean and the a/c was nice and cold. We had our cat with us and we had no problems. Carol at the front desk was excellent with a great sense of humor to boot. Will stay again if neededvand will choose Best Western if we need a room while traveling. Thanks for a great stay.

Overall service and the property were outstanding, however, I rated a 4 Star due to the breakfast which I was disappointing. Carol checked us in and her customer service was fantastic and that was before she upgraded us. Our room was large and clean with all necessary amenities. Breakfast was not as expected the eggs were dry and the biscuits were hard we did not enjoy our breakfast at all.

called hotel directly to book a pet friendly room had confirmed reservation and when I arrived at 8:30 pm was told they had no pet rooms available and I could not stay there. There was also another couple we met in parking lot that had a reservation and was also turned away. Clerk at desk didn't seem to care.Wont stay at Best Western again!

Everything here was clean and OK. Pillows on the bed were too small and too hard. TV is a little outdated with a remote that is really sub par. Breakfast is médiocre. Sorry "we have no bananas." Staff was very friendly

We really like this BW and always stay on our way down south. The rooms are spacious and very clean. This time we had a Jacuzzi and enjoyed it after a very long day of driving. The breakfast is very well stocked with hot and cold items. And the front desk was very friendly and helpful.

Every place that we stay has good and not so good things about it and this place is certainly no different. The good Front desk staff are friendly enough and check in was hassle free. It is nice that there was a rolling luggage cart or two handy as some places do not offer them. There is a working elevator and the front lobby was clean and tidy. Our room was clean and spacious. The bathroom was also clean and roomy. The bed was very comfortable. The bad Walking down the hallway there was an odor that I still have not been able to place. Maybe it's cleaner of some kind I don't know but it wasn't overwhelming. We noticed that before we got to our room that this place was outdated. The room was spacious but in clear need of paint and decor. Our room had a king bed, a sofa bed and a full kitchen. The kitchen however, had not one thing stocked for cooking or eating. I'm not sure how much good it is to offer a kitchen and then not have any cookware or utensils stocked. Maybe I should travel with my pots and pans more often? Maybe BW should let travelers know that they do not stock the kitchen? If you are reading this you decide;) The breakfast was subpar and I hold out no hope for improvement tomorrow morning. One thing that disturbed me more than the gooey sausage gravy was that the employee kept putting the tongs for the flat rubbery fried eggs back in the holder for said eggs even though the handles where many hands had grasped them kept falling onto the food. Gross in my books. Maybe have a holder for them sitting on the counter in front of each food item? I digress. If you come down for breakfast at 9:15 you better hurry and get everything you want by 9:25 or you will be cut off from the waffle maker and then given attitude if you say anything about it. The cleaning staff did not make up our room even though we saw them and asked them to come in and service the room. Not sure if they even spoke English. Summary? We are staying here for 3 nights. I believe one night is doable if passing through and you want a bargain room for that night. I would not advise staying for more than two and I certainly would advise going out for breakfast as my body is sill trying to figure out what I just ate exactly. We will not stay here again.

For a BW Plus, this was horrible, the tv was terrible, curtains had tears, and would not open. Pillows were so small. I have stayed in many BW Plus and this has not compared to any of them. The area is horrible

We have stayed at this Best Western in Glen Allen (just north of Richmond, VA) a few times. It has consistently provided a good experience. It is convenient to both I-95 and I-64. While the breakfast offered won't win awards, it does nicely as a get-up-and-go option. They permit pets and limit them to the first floor so those with allergies probably do pretty well on the upper levels. We plan to stay here whenever we pass through Richmond.

Our room was ready, the front desk clerk was very nice and helpful. The room was clean and exactly what we requested. It was an easy check in and out and the hotel was located in a decent and quiet area. We were allowed to park our motorcycles at the front entrance under the awning. They served a very good breakfast and we will stay again.

A pretty run down bathroom and a very moldy smelling room. There were some hairs on the comforter of one of tge beds. We have stayed at much nicer places for that price and won't be back. The woman who checked us in late at night was great.

"Quick stay on our way home"

We booked our hotel through hotels.com about 15 minutes before checking in. It was 1am and the lady at the front desk buzzed us in and took care of our reservation with a smile and great attitude. We were exhausted but couldn't help chatting with her since she was so nice. She took the initiative to give us extra towels since she said the room was only set up for two people and we were four. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was so much better and fresher than the Best Western Hopewell we stayed at a few nights before. All in all this hotel is great for the price.

This is a good location to stop for a night or two. They have good breakfast and friendly staff. Their website says that this hotel was recently built. Although the hotel was in good repair, it didn't seem brand new. There was small wear and tear damage on the tub and bathroom door and nothing was bright and shiny like it was just built. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The pillows were a little too think and fluffy for my taste but my wife loved them. The bathroom was spacious and clean as well. The free breakfast included waffles, eggs, sausage, sausage gravy, biscuits, cereal, yogurt, juice, milk, coffee, etc. The main thing that bugged me was the order of the room numbers. The rooms are hard to find as the rooms aren't in exact sequential order.

We were only there for one night and had no reservations so were very happy they had available rooms. However, once we were settled in, we discovered there was no internet. When we called down to the desk the response was "we have been having problems lately". They should let people know when they check in that it is not working so one has a choice as to stay there or look for some place else. Both of us staying there are working people and needed to check and respond to emails. The next morning - the manager on site was very rude. The manager was not behind the desk but saw us taking our luggage out. She came running after us and asked if we were checking out. We said we were going to the Waffle House for breakfast (breakfast there was over) and we would be back. She rudely said check out was 11 and we wouldn't make it back in time and needed to check out then and there.

we had to book a hotel last minute and I was a little nervous. the reviews looked okay for one night, and we needed a dog friendly hotel. When we got there we were warmly greeted and given a very nice sized room with two queen beds. there was a kitchen and it was a large room. It was al very clean and no pet odor. The bathroom was clean as well. we had a very nice sleep and a nice free breakfast with good coffee, and they had plenty of cold ice water that didn't have to be paid for out of a machine. If we travel that way again or I have I would definelty stay there.I gave it a very good because it was clean and that is number 1 on my check list. Friendly staff helped as well.

My mother and children and I have been here sense Friday and when we first arrived there was coffee sticks under the bed that my 10 month old found, pee on the toilet and pubic hair in bath tub. I cleaned it myself because I've done house keeping so I cleaned it because I'm here to get married so I have alot to do then wait on the rude people that seem to be all in Virginia with attitude to take there time to act like they care. Also when we first arrived I walked in and the woman with dreads gave me a look and looked back down without a welcome or anything I had to say I'm here for a reservation and even then I got a very rude look like she didn't want to help. I didn't get a welcoming or anything. I've stayed here once before and everything was ok but still there was attitude. I made a review on the actual website and I got told that they can recommend me some place else then fixing there own problems. If you ask me this ia not a place that cares about there rating or customer satisfaction if there just going to send you some where else and not handle a issue.

Awesome hotel for people who want to get breakfast included with the room price. I had large group and it was great to save money and have breakfast provided. Only about 15 minutes from downtown Richmond and close to breweries in the area.

The hotel was clean. The room was comfortable. We didn't have enough towels and wash clothes. The gym equipment was broken and not working. The fire alarm went off. We were not evacusted instead were told to go back to our rooms.The toilet was clogged.

We stayed here form 7/12 to 7/15 and found the property to be in good repair, very clean and easily accessible from the expressway. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. My wife enjoys exercising in the pool and the pool here is outdoors, relatively small but kept clean and was in excellent condition. Our only issue was with towels for the room. You are only provided two bath towels each day and we generally have a need for 3. Hence, we had to request extra towels each day we passed the front desk. Likewise, you also have to pick up pool towels from the front desk. This was our second stay here and both times we been very pleased with the facility and staff. Their daily room rate is much better than competitors and we don't mnd driving 5 miles further for the savings.

We arrived around 5:00 PM, and only one clerk was working at the front desk. She spent a lot of time with the group in front of us, getting them to sign up right there for their rewards program. With 6 people waiting in line to check in, I think she should have directed them to the web page and assisted other people instead. It was about a 10- 15 minutes wait, which is really a long time to stand in line to get registered for a hotel. The hotel itself was one of the ugliest hotels I have ever seen - garishly decorated with colors that did not match and really ugly patterned carpeting. The room was the same with turquoise walls and a deep green accent wall. The curtains had olive green, and the carpet was deep brown with golden designs on it. Just ugly, and I can't believe Best Western hired a professional interior designer to decorate this. I also can't believe someone else thought it was nicely decorated. It reminded me of something straight out of the 60's, and perhaps some people like that. The room itself was clean, except that the baseboards behind the bed look like they have not been dusted or vacuumed in a few years. The vinyl covering on the bathroom mirror frame, that made it look like metal, was peeling off and the caulking around the tub already needs to be redone. The breakfast was basic, mostly carbs, and the coffee was just brown colored water with little flavor. Overall, it was a disappointing stay for a "Plus" hotel that was really average at best. Next time we go to the Richmond area, we will spend $10 more and stay somewhere else.

The hotel is located near highway 95 and downtown Richmond. The lobby, the hallways, the breakfast area and the rooms are nicely decorated and clean. We were very pleased with the room, however there were only two bath towels and two hand towels in the room, which for a family of four is it enough. We asked and the we were told that the hotel does not have enough towels especially when in full occupancy. We were able to get some pool towels. Also with the room, the comfort of the mattress was not there. Pillows were square, small and not good. The ice machine in third floor did not work either. The fitness center needs new equipment cause it did not work. Pool was decent, however strictly closed at 9 pm. Breakfast was also decent. For a place that looked that good, they have a lot of work to do. 3 star is generous.

The room was very clean and they let us check in early. We stayed for one night. The breakfast was good. The staff was friendly. The breakfast room was full so I grabbed some food to take back to my room. A staff member helped me by giving me a tray. Each employee of this hotel that I talked to was kind and courteous. I highly recommend this hotel.

The room was comfortable with fridge and Microwave. We had trouble logging on to their internet with our phones. The reception were no help and told us to ring an outside number for help. We rang them and they got us connected from their end. We had a squeaky bathroom door and told reception and when we returned in the afternoon we were told that they had nothing to stop the noise. What a joke the shops are open today and not from the Hotel. Breakfast was good except for the staff in charge yelling at a guest for doing the wrong thing with the Waffle Machine. This is a Best Western Plus Hotel and we have had better service at other Best Western Hotels around USA, Europe and Asia. Would not recommend this Hotel to stay. Have been a Gold/Diamond member with Best Western for 8 years now and this is how they have treated us.

I booked my 2 nights thru the Best Western app. We chose this hotel over another hotel we usually stay at in this area. The app said it was a pet friendly, which it is. What they don't tell you is that they charge $20 a pet each night. So I ended up spending $80 in pet fees for a room that was $80 and change each night. The only reason I didn't walk out and go to my usual hotel is cause I was checking in at 1230 am. It should state in the hotel description that you will be gouged $$ in pet fees. The room was nice enough and the man working the desk was nice.

I was in town for my daughters graduation and decided to stay here. We upgraded to the Jacuzzi suite -added bubbles and had the time of our lives. we arrived at this hotel after a long drive from florida. The woman at the front desk was very friendly and put us in room 209. Upon entering the room I noticed that the sheer curtains were torn and two of the three chairs had stains on them. Because we were exhausted and the bed linens were clean, we decided to stay. It was after 11:00 pm and we were sitting on the couch watching tv when we noticed a bug crawling up the wall. within minutes there were bugs literally crawling out of the woodwork and up the wall. I wanted to leave the hotel but my husband went to the front desk and they changed our room. It seems that the manager, Mr. Patel, is never there. We have called repeatedly and left messages for him, but he has never returned our calls or addressed this issue with us. I would never stay here again.

We stayed one night in this hotel and we had 80 rooms rented. There was drug dealing going on the 4th floor. The 4th floor smelled like marijuana and there was steady traffic in and out of room 412 and two other rooms. We let management know about it and they did nothing. I'm pretty sure some of the ladies that were working that night were in on the drug dealing because after we complained about the smell the occupants had a spray bottle of cleaner that was given to them by the ladies at the front desk. I will never stay at this hotel again.

During our stay in May 2018, the hotel pool was closed for fence repairs, and we did not find this out until after check-in. If you plan on swimming, verify that this pool is back open before booking! Some staff were not as considerate as we would have preferred, calling to tell us to keep our toddler daughter from running in the room (again, no pool that we had planned to use), even though this was mid-day and our room was not over a guest room.

This property uses "United Solution" internet service which reminds me of what hotel internet used to be like 15 years ago. You have to call 800-574-6381, go round and round for 30 minutes with customer-support (who are difficult to understand), and finally they "reboot the device" which sort of fixes the problem. Or you can simply refresh the login page somewhere between 40 to 50 times, which is easier. Nobody else seemed to have this problem, according to Astrid at the front desk. We had two win-10 laptops and three android devices, all with the identical problem. according to United Solutions, all five devices must have "bad drivers" even all five devices work fine in all other hotels. Bizz the front desk clerk at night is sympathetic but of course, there is little they can do, since this choice of internet services is above their pay grade. Bizz was very nice about it, and i really wish i could say the same of Astrid, the morning woman. She was very hostile to me as I was checking out.

It is not easy to find a pet friendly inn and this one was billed as such and lived up to that promise. pet fee at the time is 20 $ which is ok. The breakfast was impressive with a wide range of hot and cold choices. The room was clean and like the walk in shower.

This was a late night decision, having driven and toured points of interest all day, and having a natural tendency to stay at Best Western's whenever possible. Our late check-in was handled without difficulty, and our room was up to the usual BW standards. The HVAC system was adequate and quiet, the room was ample in size, all the appliances worked perfectly, and the beds were very welcoming. In the morning, the breakfast included items sufficient to satisfy every taste. Chalk up another plus for Best Western!

I can't imagine that you'll get a better deal than this. We drove through Richmond on our way north so that we could hit DC after rush hour. Picked this property because it was perfectly situated. The desk clerk was very cordial and helpful. We asked for an accessible room and were assigned a 3rd floor room. It's the nicest and most functional accessible room we've ever seen. The tub has a seat that folds up - the shower is moveable on a post. Many many bars!! The only complaint I would have is low water pressure - but it was ok. Nice big TV - not sure how big but maybe 40"?? The bed was comfortable to me - I slept like a log! I just can't imagine that you'll find a better deal than this. Clean, almost new, well kept and cordial personnel. The breakfast is included hot and cold. Nothing special there but hey! - saves the cost of a restaurant meal. So if you're looking for a comfortable, clean, attractive hotel you won't be at this BW.

We stay here twice a year coming and going NY to Fl. Seasoned world travelers know whats important and what is trivial. Check in and out is efficient and friendly. Grounds clean and well kept even on backside entrances. Interior common areas are clean, well lite and modern. Breakfast is hot and plentiful. Attendant is the same person for several yrs. Room is kept clean and food is always replenished. The room. This time 108. Massive, mobility enhanced. Kitchen with apt size fridge and dining table. Bathroom very large with all mobility needs covered. Towels fresh and thick. Carpet clean and well kept. Decor modern and tasteful. Bed clean and crisp. Extremely comfy with plenty of pillows. Tv plenty of channels good pic. Had dome problems with WIFI maybe distance from hub so I switched to my own data. Very quiet even with the presence of construction workerd staying at inn Very very nice. Cleanliness and maintenance are the key to this inn. Keep up the good work. I am sure you have many repeat customers who except this type of quality and you do deliver.

If you are looking for an hotel experience this is not the place. The hotel overlooks Route 1. Think that $115 + taxes for a one night stay is overpriced. Breakfast is the normal junk that all these types of hotels. Nothing is served fresh. The room was clean, but the air conditioning had a rumble.

Good, clean facility, friendly staff, good rooms, well appointed, quiet, hot breakfast with juice, cereals and fruit. Good way to start the day of NASCAR Racing. With the track only one exit down I-95 and an easy 6.5 miles. Overall, great place to stay, with restaurants in close proximity.

Booked a two queen bed room for two people for two nights. Lady at the front desk was rude and treated me less than nice. When we asked for extra towels/shampoo/body wash the lady got quite rude and told my friend “we don't have body wash” my friend then had to specify the “body wash bar” and she gave her one. She was told to go to someone else for more towels and when she asked the lady didn't say one word and forcefully handed her more towels. Overall it's an extremely rude staff.

Booked online and room was ready upon arrival. The desk clerk was very efficient. The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. There was a very good line up of TV channels. The rooms are very clean, the hotel nice. The hot breakfast is a welcome addition as well as hot coffee or tea all day. The only real complaint is that the beds are very hard. Other than that everything else was wonderful. The rooms are big with plenty of room (there were 3 adults in the room). Everything was clean. The common areas were well kept & nicely decorated. The front desk person, Carol, is a true gem with a great customer service spirit - super nice lady!

My husband and I always stay at this hotel when passing through Richmond on our way to hike for the weekend. It's a great Best Western and we have no complaints. Like always, for Best Westerns, the breakfast is great. The rooms are nice. The staff is friendly. The last time we passed through we had our dogs with us which was no problem for the hotel and we were placed in a nice dog friendly room on the first floor. There isn't a ton of bathroom space for the dogs outside the hotel, but there is enough. It's a Best Western which we tend to equate with quality and we are never disappointed at this hotel.

Never go here!! Immediately upon entering the room, noticed stained and dirty bedding covered with body hair on not only my bed but my child's intended bed as well. When I complained to the front desl and the maid arrived to change the sheets, she argued with me claiming they were clean before calling me a slur in Spanish before relenting and changing bedding. She only relented and changed the bedding after I spoke to her in Spanish making her aware I am fluent. At breakfast the next morning, the male attendant yelled at me across the dining area when I had trouble with their waffle iron instead of walking up to me and showing me how operate it. Had noisy young neighbors under the age of 18 that were next door to us screaming and yelling all hours of the night. When we finally called the front desk at 10:45 PM to complain, they suggested we call the room and speak to the occupants (these minors) ourselves!?? After we left, I noticed that my ring was left in the room and not on my hand, which is entirely my fault. Called the front desk and the woman who answered said she would contact the maid and ask about it and put me on hold. Of course, the maid claimed she never had seen it as it was the very same maid who called me that racial slur and did not want to change our dirty stained sheets from the first day we arrived. Lady at front desk said that the maid didn't find it and that was that. We even drove back anyway to look through the room ourselves. The room had been changed and reset. The maid of course "never saw" the ring. WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE EVER. Do not come here unless you want dirty rooms with lazy lying maids who steal your property to take care of your rooms. Absolutely zero customer service or professionalism. None. Will not come back and I encourage others to not use this hotel as well.

Very clean hotel, fast internet for work or browsing, complimentary hot/cold breakfast, near several stores and mall around makes this hotel a very good choice if staying in Virginia. We stayed here on our way to New York and absolutely no regret. We'll stay here again if have the chance. We stay at this hotel regularly on our NY to Fl route. Room 110 has been consistently clean, fresh crisp linens, bathroom spotless. Towels plentiful and thick. Beds super comfy. The grounds are well kept. We cannot tolerate dirty grounds or unkept exteriors especially at back or side exits. This is well kept. Carol at the front desk is superior. Friendly and professional. Always. Breakfast good, hot plentiful. The man in the breakfast room does an excellent job. Now the not so good. The carpets are filthy. I dropped a spot of toothpaste on the carpet and went to wash it up. The rag was black. I mean black. Now the awful. The semi sheer curtains stood out as soon as we unlocked the door. They were filthy trash. This did NOT just happen. This is from months and months. Over the AC unit. Yes windows and AC units get condensation. Drapes get damp sitting on the ledge. It happens. No problem but to hsve it happen and for housekeeping to neglect changing the drapes OR getting them down and a good washing with a good stain or rust remover. OR go buy a pair of 7.99 semi sheers at the local "mart" until you can order new! No excuses. None. Housekeeping was negligent and lazy on this one. Carol offered another room but it was not necessary for this type of issue. I hope this hotel is not starting to go downhill. We look foreward to it. Will try again on return in the Spring and we'll see if it takes these things seriously.

We needed to find a motel that was affordable serve a hearty breakfast and be convenient to downtown Richmond. The Best Western in Glen Allen fit all those criteria. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

Hotel is old and in need of a complete overhaul. Our room wasn't even cleaned the day we were there. We got back to the room at 11:30 pm and the room hadn't been touched but we were too tired to complain.

Had a great 7 day stay. It was quiet, comfortable, clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. This particular hotel is relative new so I hope that in the days, weeks, and months to come they continue to offer the same quality of comfortable and service. Being a senior citizen who is still working part-time......value and service are very important.

Had a great time with my boyfriend. I was pleased to see how clean the hotel was upon entry. Nice decor as well. The lobby looks like it had some renovations including the room. Room was clean and very spacious. Microwave and fridge available. All staff were very friendly. Simple breakfast was available, the staff member handling breakfast was very attentive to cleaning up as people used items and also left tables, he also made sure no food was completely gone prior to refill. Very impressive. Overall had no concerns, enjoyed my stay other than noisy folks above us our last night. Suprisingly the walls are fairly thick not alot of feedback noise from other rooms. I would highly recommend and will be returning if needed.

Adequate accommodations at a good price. Nice clean room and comfortable bed with all the usual amenities. The breakfast area is clean and well stocked and has a nice breakfast offering. Not enough pillows or towels and I was given a hard time when asking for an additional blanket.

We were traveling with our pet so our choice of hotels is somewhat limited but Best Western has always had a good reputation. When you travel with a pet you also get the"pet" room. Consequently you tailor your expectations accordingly. The good:. Room was clean, beds and pillows were comfortable, staff were excellent especially the evening guy Biz, it was quiet and the price was right. The bad: The room phone never worked despite Biz's efforts, there was no hair dryer, and we had two small bottles of conditioner but no shampoo. You get what pay for. A clean no frills place to stay. I still need a hair dryer, shampoo and a room phone that works.

This hotel is fantastic. It has a nice indoor heated pool and hot tub, fitness room and breakfast room that doubles in the evening for treats and coffee. We would strongly recommend this hotel for its amenities, friendly and competent staff and value for the money spent.

Motel is just north of Richmond, a bit tricky to find from I-95 in the dark without a mobile map app...strong wifi, good breakfast, friendly staff...excellent value for the price...I had to leave my previous motel choice after one hour, because wifi was no good...it was excellent here...

Most of the trip we were with my daughter and her family...only slept there. Room smelled of smoke when we arrived. I should have told someone but since we were only there for a few hours on Friday and Saturday and checked out at 5:30am on Sunday, I didn't. No one came in to clean the room or make the bed the whole time we were there. We tried to watch TV when we were there but the reception was terrible. On Monday when I checked my bank records I noticed that there was a $250. charge to my account. I called them and they said that it was a cleaning fee because room smelled of smoke. I said that I wanted to speak to a supervisor. He was not in but she would give him a message to call me. I gave her my cell number and to this date 1/2/2017 he has yet to call. I called my bank right away to stop payment. They said that I had to wait for draft to go through after which I could dispute the charge, which I did. I called the hotel again to tell them that I did. They probably do this to most of their guest and most of whom don't know or don't complain. DO NOT stay there!!!

Disgustingly moldy bathtub. Bad tv. Lumpy pillows. Dark dingy hallways. Non-functioning sockets. Less-than-full "full breakfast". All this at a supposedly "Premium" Best Western Plus property. We paid a premium price for the equivalent of a below-average EconoLodge.

You get what you pay for. The staff went out of their way to let us know they were not happy that we booked through a third party site. There was an issue with our reservation and they went out of their way NOT TO RESOLVE it. The breakfast was a very small step above "continental" and not very good. Scrambled eggs, sausage and waffles were the hot items the morning we were there. Everything else were typical hotel continental breakfast items. The rooms were clean and tidy although the hair dryer in our room had the back broken off so the interior fan was exposed and very dangerous. It also seemed to have a short in it and only turned on about half the time. The hotel did seem to offer "express check-out" which was nothing more than an empty front desk that had a fish bowl with a 3 x 5 card for your room key that said Express Check out.

Avoid at all Cost - terrible rooms, noise all night long. Many of hotels in the area to choose one - CHOOSE ANOTHER PLACE TO STAY - any other hotel would be better than this - should have slept in my car; at least I would have gotten some sleep

We stayed here on Saturday night My wife went to a concert at the Richmond coliseum .The hotel in general was ok. We stayed on the 3rd floor and the carpet in the hall was discusting.The room was neat and very clean.The breakfast area was good not a bad breakfast ive had worse. The staff were pleasent although a mob scene when we got there.very buzy we went and did other things and checked in later

Unbelievably bad experience. I am a frequent traveler. I rarely stay at Best Westerns but this was one of the only hotels in the area with a vacancy. I have never encountered such a rude desk clerk. Now I know why they were the only hotel with a vacancy. Smart people know not to stay here. If I could give them a zero star rating I would.

The reviews were good and we needed a pet friendly property. My expectations were low though, as I usually choose Marriott properties, but I wanted to spend less for this one night. I was pleasantly surprised on all accounts. The part of town it's in is a bit disconcerting, but this property stood out as an exception.

The room smelled like cigarette smoke. It was a "nonsmoking" room. The desk clerk was outside on their cell phone smoking a cigarette while I waited at the front desk to check in while they finished. I was in the room less than 12 hours and my clothes smelled like smoke when I left. It was late when I checked in and I left early in the morning so I didn't try to change rooms. I doubt I would have been accommodated so I just sucked it up. What was a little funny was I had to sign something saying I wouldn't smoke in the room or have a pet. Ha!

Its not bed, not good, its just different. Originally stopped at a pet friendly hotel which was right on the highway. The lady there recommended this one, since the noise was a bit loud from the highway. This hotel was very quiet. The rooms were big and clean but of strange design with a kitchenette with no utensils and a refrig that stuck out a bit. The staff were very nice. There was a bucket in one of the side halls for a leak. The breakfast was only ok. I think you could do better. The pet fee was $20.

We searched for motels in the area and being a Best Western Diamond member, we decided to attempt to stay there. So we called and got 4 rooms for the night. After a long day of unbelievable traffic on 95, we were happy to get to our hotel outside of Richmond, Va. The room was fine, outdoor swimming pool available (mostly used by children). Many nearby fast food and restaurants were available.

It's an alright establishment, very comfortable rooms . Problems with loud guests , maintenance issues with room, moldy smell couldn't be removed . Hotel way overpriced in my eyes to be having so many problems. Kept getting asked if I was checking out everyday and other guests were never asked while eating breakfast.

Stopped here on our way down to the outerbanks. We booked through hotels.com and checked in a little after 2am. The man at the front desk told us they aren't supposed to take any bookings after midnight, but since we already paid he adjusted some things in hos computer and let us stay, thank goodness. Our room was tidy, but could definitely been cleaned better. Mold around the tub grouting, yellow stuff neat the toilet lid hinges (gross) we found a hair on our "clean" bedsheets bit at 2:30 am all we wanted to do was sleep. The breakfast was decent, eggs, sausage, waffle maker, bagels, muffins, cereal, fruit, oatmeal & yogurt. So enough to get a bite to eat before going back on the road. For the price we paid it was what it was.

This hotel is great. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Made sure we had a room on the first floor so we didn't have to go up and down the stairs with our dogs. Even recommended a great pizza place nearby. Continental breakfast was fantastic.

We spent two nights here. The desk staff and housekeeping were very nice and helpful. The room was clean and everything worked well. The pool was very well maintained, and a nice respite from the heat when we were in the area. Free breakfast definitely met our needs. All in all, it was a good stay at a very reasonable price.

I was driving from Georgia to New York, so I stopped at this hotel to spend the night before my last leg of the trip. I had no plans to explore downtown Richmond, but this hotel didn't seem too far away from the city, so it could be a good option for someone who needs something cheap and convenient. However, the hotel is in a bit of an odd area, and I wouldn't really want to be out and around it at night (mainly because it felt kind of secluded). Check in was easy, the room was nice enough, but, there was a stain on one of the pillows and on a towel. I didn't tell management about it because I was only going to be there for a few hours for sleep. Breakfast is subpar at best, and inedible at worse. There was apples and oranges, sausage and eggs, bagels and bread, a waffle maker, and cereal. It was a seemingly varied spread, however, the sausage and the "eggs" were terribly bland and definitely tasted like a manufactured product. I toasted a bagel for a egg and sausage sandwich and I couldn't even finish it. All in all, this is a fine hotel for a quick stay, and with the Hotel Tonight deal, the price is good.

I tried calling the Best Western @ 804-266-3500 several times around 1:45 pm on July 2, 2017 to let someone be aware that we would be checking in late, as we were at Kings Dominion. After 5 times of trying to call the hotel unsuccessfully, I found the Best Western 1-800 number via internet and informed the operator of my situation. She was able to notate on my account that we would be checking in late that evening. We got to the hotel around 11 pm and were checked into room 216. We saw one of the beds had several pieces of hair under the pillows. I called and notified the front desk, in which we were relocated to room 316. The man informed me to email to inform management about the issue with the room. In room 316 there were additional issues, in which I informed the front desk about and the man informed me to include these additional issues into this email. -Someone ended up leaving a damp, white towel by the sink -there was several pieces of hair in the bath tub. I went to the front and asked the young man for some cleaning spray to clean the tub before we took our showers. -as we were leaving to take the hotel cart to the front, we noticed a bug above the door. I killed it and took it to the front to inform the front desk attendant. -The chair had some stains in it My husband and I had recently stayed in the Best Western Plus in New Orleans and enjoyed 5 beautiful days there. We had never stayed at a Best Western before but that's when we decided our family would start using Best Western moving forward because we had such a great experience with the staff and hotel cleanliness there. When we checked out, there was no one at the front desk but they had a glass jar with a hand written sign where you could drop off your room key. I have reservations for another Best Western in Arlington, VA for July 3-5, 2017. I am a bit skeptical on using Best Western for my family moving forward and do not plan to return to this particular location in Glen Allen, Virginia. Truly if it had not been so late (11 pm) in the evening, especially after spending an entire day at Kings Dominion, I would have left and stayed at another hotel. My family means everything to me and I hope you understand my frustration with my experience at this Best Western location.

Basic hotel, very solid experiences here (we stay here about 4-5 times a year). Location is great for highways, getting to South/Central VA or going North to DC., etc. Location to nearby shopping centers is not easily visible, but great food is found with in 3 miles of this location.

We were passing through the Richmond area and just needed somewhere to stay. We are not familiar with the area and found it a bit hard to find, and were underwhelmed with the room-it felt a bit damp. The lobby and breakfast areas were especially nice and it felt like the rooms didn't get an upgrade in the same way those did.

I thought that BW Plus would be equivalent to hotels like Hampton, Fairfield, and HIE. It was similar in shape, amenities and was OK overall but I would pick one of the others if given a choice. The answer I got about getting a late checkout was the crowning blow- $10 an hour added to your bill PER HOUR after 11am. Kinda summarized the whole experience!

I was disappointed in the property -- the phone didn't work -- and it wasn't fixed -- when I complained again, in the morning, I was told it was locked -- seems that the hotel expects people who stay there not to be too honest.

Housekeep besides Joanne sucked. Front desk ladies were really nice and helpful. The pool was not ready yet but they were working on it when I left. Chris did the breakfast and was really nice. Avoid the first or second floor housekeeping they don't care

An always "MUST STAY" when traveling on I-95. A very well-run clean, convenient, welcoming, stop after a day of tense heavy traffic driving on that crazy stretch of I-95 North OR South Bound. Greeted by a very pleasant Astrid-as nice as the flower. And as far as GM Pateek, a man who always takes care of any concerns and is a genuinely involved and understanding pleasure to interact with....a definite PLUS for this Best Western Plus property.

This motel I stayed in a few times over a few years . I have been very happy with my stay . The staff are so friendly and helpful The manager is so nice , remembers your name every time you see her. Price for your stay must be the cheapest around Breakfast is excellent also .

I'd find another hotel to stay at until they learn to respect CLC guests. We deserve our points. We also should be allowed to have a King size bed instead of 2 queens. The AC didn't work well enough, the beds were hard, it is showing it's age, housekeeping needs to do a much better job, lots of dust on the lamp, food still in the room I first checked into, pillows in floor in the 2nd room, internet was sketchy and not fast enough, front desk was rude, the maid was the friendliest staff member there. And it's spring time--people want to gather outside--there was NOWHERE to sit outside at all. I'd go elsewhere until improvements are made and they find friendly staff and make improvements.

On returning home to another state my son realized he left his computer charger plugged into the wall of the room. We called repeatedly at night and after hrs of trying someone at the desk finally answered the phone: no charger turned in. Called again next day: no charger turned in. We know it was left in the room. Disappointing and we won't stay at BW again.

Though this hotel is not right off the interstate, it is well worth the extra few minutes it takes to get there. The rooms are clean and comfortable and of a nice size, especially if you are staying more than one night. The staff is pleasant, with a good atmosphere. The price was good for the area, and we got an additional discount for staying more than one night. (In our case 4 nights.) which made it excellent. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Rooms are okay, good size. No hot water the whole weekend for showers. No housekeeping the whole weekend in many of the rooms including ours. Had to go to front desk to get your own towels. No communications from hotel regarding hot water issues. Large soccer tournament over the weekend. Hotel was full and everyone felt the same about the hotel. Very poor hospitality and still charges full rate. I've never been to a hotel where you never got housekeeping.

It was nice to find a room at such a reasonable price at 1am without a reservation. Not fancy but very clean and we were in a super large room with a kitchen. Free breakfast offerings were the normal but we were able to eat on our low carb diet. Good service as well.

The Glen Allen Inn is an upgrade from the regular Best Western, and offers larger rooms and a more varied breakfast. The road well traveled along the I-95 corridor allows for many choices in the Motel business. I have found that the Plus motels are more likely to be satisfying and this was no exception. In all fairness, this stay was paid for in Best Western reward points as I use my membership to the fullest.

TERRIBLE. Problem with the front desk person.- rude, argumentative, and threatening. We confirmed a double room through Expedia but were given one bed and a sofa bed. When we opened the sofa bed we were totally disgusted. The mattress was stained with what looked like a large diarrhea stain. I complained that evening and was offered no solution- same cranky front desk person. In the a.m., I attempted to speak to the front desk person (different one) but she was on the phone discussing the office printer. I emailed the hotel manager twice for a refund and to ensure the mattress was discarded with no response. I emailed customer service. They finally offered me a $50.00 travel card, which they described as a fair offer, because I “did still spend the entire evening at hotel “ Was that the point? We stayed a full night…..trust me, if we had an option to leave we would have- they refused to refund our money ( because we booked through Expedia)…so we had no other choice than to stay. We were NOT comfortable because we had to share a bed…but hey…$50 Canadian (not even the currency we used) is fair???

When entered our non-smoking room, the first thing we noticed was the odor. A call to the front desk and they immediately got us in a different one. Not a good first impression. Our second room was fine but the decor was a it dated...think turquoise blue and avocado green. The breakfast was pretty standard...unremarkable. However, the staff was friendly, our room was clean and comfortable. Fortunately, the saving grace was the reasonable price we paid.

We arrived at the hotel unsure of what to do about a hotel stay because Hurricane Matthew was bearing down in the state next to us and was headed our way. Then when I was checking in the hotel I found out I didn't had the reservation I thought I had made that morning. I had made the reservation for the next day. I was very anxious about having to find a hotel in the heavy rain and oncoming Matthew. The person behind the desk assured me she could make it work. She found a room and recommended we keep the reservation for the next day in case our plans changed as the hurricane changed. That was just the start of a good visit, At every turn the hotel exceeded expectations. The breakfast was outstanding and I have stayed in hotels for years. Good job.

I spent one night here with my husband, adult daughter and 2 tiny dogs while attending a family wedding at the botanical garden. I contacted the hotel several times in the weeks before the wedding about an early check-in. We drove for 7 hours and arrived at the hotel at 1PM. We were tired and needed to shower and dress for the wedding. There was one car in the ample parking lot when we arrived. My husband, an affable, easy going guy went into the office to check in. He returned a minute later and said the extremely rude desk attendant tapped her wrist and said they were way too busy to check us in before the 2PM check in time. There was not another soul in sight. So, we took a ride to Walmart and Dairy Queen and returned to Best Western around ten minutes to two. The desk attendant said she was "busy" and left us to wait the 10 minutes before allowing us access to our room. We were the only people waiting. I hurriedly prepared to shower and noticed there were only 2 towels in the bathroom. I walked the short distance to the front desk and explained that we needed another towel. This same attendant stated that the rooms are set up for 2 guests, hence 2 towels. I explained that there were 3 of us needing showers. The attendant made a show of opening many drawers and cabinets behind the desk and shrugged saying she could not find another towel for us. At this point my smile was slipping and I asked if we could have one from one of the many, many unoccupied rooms. She huffed and puffed and eventually walked the 20 steps to the supply closet a few doors from our room and angrily handed me the towel. I have never had an experience like this before. The rest of the hotel staff were warm and friendly, the hotel was spotless and we actually made it to the wedding with minutes to spare but we will never stay at the Glen Allen Best Western again!

What a pleasure to be able to say good-very good things...This is/was a real great choice after navigating some 400 miles on a crazy I-95. We needed something clean-very clean, peaceful-very peaceful, yet "reasonably" priced. This has/had it all!! AND the clincher was that the well-groomed gentleman that checked us in was, when asked was the PROPERTY GENERAL MANAGER. To make this stay A REAL PLUS, that same gentleman who checked us in was later seen running the vacuum cleaner himself. That's right a GM that leads by example It DOES make a difference!

Booked this room online and prepaid. I gave my credit card for incidentals at check in. When I checked my CC I was charged twice for the same stay. I called twice and spoke to person at the front desk. Was assured it would be taken care of. Waited two weeks and finally contacted corporate and got my refund. The room was adequate. The lock on the door did not work. We could lean against the door and it would open right up. I notified the front desk and was told "oh that's right it doesn't". Ok, so why not get it fixed or don't rent that room.

The hotel was clean and comfortable. It needs a little updating but was good enough for a short stay. For those visiting Richmond it is located about 5 miles away. A very good buy which included free breakfast and parking. Would recommend this hotel.

Stayed two days in a two queen bed room. The hotel seems to be older. However, the room and the bathroom were very clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good and the attendant did a very good job at keeping everything stocked. It was a perfect hotel for our trip. Would book here again if I return to the area.

We chose this Best Western because it is a pet friendly hotel. It worked our fine for our little Yorkie. However, the front desk never notified housekeeping that we were checking out late, even tho we received clearance to do so. Also, our room key wasn't working in the laundry facility, and the daytime front desk staff was annoyed that we were having problems. It would have also been nice if the laundry facility had a coin machine since the machines were coin activate.

The people are friendly and the pool refreshing, however Housekeeping, communication between Front Desk and housekeeping, hotel supplies and breakfasts need improvements. 1. Check in and our room was not finished as no towels in bathroom. 2. Bathtub was slippery and I slipped but didn't fall. Asking for bath mat, none was available so had to use pool towel. Subsequent days, no bath mat and had to use towel or go down to front desk. 3. Breakfast was very simple, only fruit were apples and oranges. Not like the other best westerns which normally has a full array of fruit.

Dirt, dust and clothing behind sofa in room and dirt and debris on bathroom floor, bathtub needed scrubbing. 1 Front desk person needs to improve customer friendliness. I asked for a room on the top floor, we got one but it didn't smell good when we went in. I called the desk to make sure it was a non smoking room and she told me it was (322). I told her it smelled like smoke but we would stay, I just didn't want charged for being the one to smoke in it. She said she would make a note of it. We did not eat breakfast there any morning because we had to leave before it started at 6:30 so I can't comment on it. Everything in the room was in working order but if you get a suite with a sink and hotplate, there are no dishes or utensils. I guess you have to check with the desk. We were here three nights. The first morning we met the cleaning lady in the hall and told her she didn't need to do anything but exchange towels, she was frustrated with the amount of work she had and it was not a big deal. The second day, nothing was done and we didn't return until after 5pm. We had to go to desk to get towels. I didn't complain but many would.

our family of 5 (husband, myself, children ages 6,4,and 1) arrived late at night after several hours cooped up in the car. we had a reservation and the website says that children under 12 stay for free.....this is not the case. we were told that we could not stay in the same room together because it exceeds their occupancy for the double queen size beds room. we were told that we would have to leave because they were booked up and did not have a second room for us to rent, even though it would have been ludicrous for us to have to rent 2 rooms just because the baby counts as an adult. we travel often and have never had this issue with any other hotel EVER. so late at night we had to scramble to find another hotel that was more than glad to accommodate.

The customers service was great, but it is great at 95% of the hotels I stayed. With blood stain on my bed, dirty toilet and slippery bad tub. I will not recommend staying here for $89.00 per night. Most of my stays are at Best Western, this one did not live up to the standard. A $49.00 per night hotel is better.

"blood on comforter and wall"

We had a terrible experience at this hotel. Very understaffed. THe only person working was one girl at the front desk and she was working very hard to try to both answer the phone and take care of the long line of customers at the front desk. We stayed here about 6 years ago and had a great experience, which is why we chose to stay here again. There had been a storm the night before, and the power had been out. When we were leaving the next morning, the fireman outside told us that the hotel should not have been open, as the fire alarms were not working!! The hotel was filthy! There was blood on our wall and on the comforter. We went to the front desk and after waiting in line for 20 minutes to ask for new and she informed us that she had to wash one and we could come back to get it later when it was done...and change it OURSELVES, as she was the only one working in the hotel, no cleaning staff, no one!! It was not the employees fault. She was working very hard. So later, we came back to the front desk to wait in line again and get the "clean" comforter and change our own bed!! I reported this to corporate who said they would have hotel management contact me and have never heard a word from them! We will find somewhere else to stay next time!!!!

My husband and I stayed here with our 8 month old daughter. The staff was amazing and friendly. The hotel atmosphere was kid friendly. The hallway our room did smell a little like smoke in the morning, but not when we arrived. The room we stayed in was clean. The breakfast was satisfactory.

"Unclean sheets and hair from previous guest everywhere!"

Came here 2 nights ago and did not notice the sheets had hair on both beds. The following morning II inspected them after my child saw one, then I noticed some on my bed. I could not believe my eyes. I immediately told the maid that these sheets were not changed before I arrived. They obviously only made up the bed after the old guests left. Also the bathroom was not clean either The floor was filled with hair. Absoulutely disgusting.

"Great Hotel Despite Bad Storm"

The BW Glen Allen Hotel in Glen Allen, Va., was our last hotel stop on the way home after a 2-wk vacation to Florida. We had no res. but were able to get a really nice room (very clean and comfy!) on the 3rd floor. About 30 min. later a really BAD thunderstorm with near tornado-like winds tore through the area, leaving the entire hotel w/o power (no air cond. on a very warm night!) and non-stop smoke/fire alarms blaring for a couple hours straight until local fire dept. came, inspected bldg. (there was no fire) and turned them off. My husband & I had maybe 2 hours sleep at most that night. VERY chaotic. Most people just stayed in rooms and dealt with it. Felt very sorry for families with children and dogs(allowed at this hotel). Quite scary. Even a small part of building's exterior roof, soffit and rain gutter came off (right above our room!!). BUT no one was hurt - everyone was safe. Power came back on (Yay!!) several hours later. We're home now, but my ears are STILL ringing from those alarms! I hope that the BW Corp. sees it in their hearts (and checkbooks) to give even a little compensation (gift card perhaps??) to all guests that night of June 16th, 2016 at the BW Glen Allen in Va., for what we all had to endure (after all we all DID pay at least $100.00 for each room). I know that Best Western Hotels is not responsible (of course) for the storm, but it would really show good Customer Service for its' brand. Aside from that storm (again, out of BW's control) yes, I would still definitely recommend the BW Glen Allen Hotel in Va., to anyone looking for a quality, CLEAN & COMFY room. Best Western is still the ONLY hotel chain that my husband and I have ever stayed at and always will. They are excellent quality, great customer service, (we even had unexpected UPGRADES on our trip!!!) and CLEAN!! :) One final note: I graded the hotel experience rating/survey overall on what it WOULD have most likely been like WITHOUT the storm experience! After all, as I've stated before, the storm was out of BW's control and not one of the area's 'attractions'! ;)

"Not friendly/polite"

I just checked in. The lady was to busy apparently to acknowledge I was there until I sad hello. When I checked in I mentioned there was a package I was waiting on and if I had anything and she immediately said no. She didn't even check for me, and she came across so rude about it I felt I would share. This is the service industry, if you cant be polite to paying guest maybe find something to do that you wont ruin a persons mood by being rude. Wont be staying here again.

I made a reservation for the weekend, June 10th through the 12th for our son's tournament sporting event in the area. We have stayed at a few BW's, both Premier and Plus tier hotels from BW. I did not find this hotel to be of the same caliber as the other 'upper-mid-range' "plus" BWs. The only positive comments I can provide is that the room (King suite with sofabed) was very spacious and the front desk person (Carol) provided us with clean linens and extra towels upon request. -The room HEAVILY smelled like smoke/musty odor. The front desk person offered some "air freshener" to make it better. -There were two missing light bulbs from lamps. -Noticed a small hole (size of quarter) in closet -Bathroom door would not lock -Shower head was not secured/fixed to wall, only being held up by copper water supply line in the wall . -Mirror in bathroom dirty/smeared -Brown stains on sheer curtains (assuming from the air conditioning unit?) My family tried to laugh off the ridiculous of what we saw or had to experience. Additionally, there were no additional pillows available because this hotel was full this weekend. The next morning, as we left our room, we were stopped by cleaning personnel, and asked if we needed anything. I politely stated new towels, and replacement light bulbs for those that were missing. Perhaps, I was confused, because I would've thought that meant that the cleaning persons would come in, straighten up the room, new linens, AND PROVIDE NEW TOWELS, and bring light bulbs. We returned later that evening to an un-tidyed up room, old towels on the floor, etc. and fixtures without light bulbs! Perhaps it was the 'A' teams' weekend off. I would not stay at this hotel again, and told my family to reprimand me if I do something like this again. It made for a good "not what to do" lesson. We did not "experience" the 24/7 coffee, nor did we tempt ourselves to the breakfast. There's a McDonald's and a Starbucks within a few minutes drive. All of our non-worn clothes needed to be washed once we returned home.

Made a reservation though a Best Western operator and the price quoted on the phone was not the price I was told to pay when I got here. It was $10 more. The front desk couldn't help and customer service wouldn't help. I'll find a different place to stay next time.

I just stayed here 1 night while driving from FL to NY and I really enjoyed it. I booked on Expedia and then when I got here the front desk lady said there was a 20$ pet fee for my dog. Normally I'd be irritated about it but the lady was so friendly and welcoming that it didn't bother me. She even came out to say hi to my dog which was sweet of her. The room was a little stuffy but everything seemed pretty clean. People were having fun in the swimming pool when I got in around 10pm and it made me wish I'd brought my suit!

"Good Location and good price"

Staff was very helpful. Room was clean and location suited our purposes. Day trips to Monticello and Montpellier and the capital of Richmond were easily accomplished. The free breakfast was plentiful and Chris kept things refilled and clean. Would recommend this hotel as a small friendly welcoming stay for anyone.

My wife and I have stayed here several times primarily due to geographical location. The hotel is great but the neighborhood leaves a bit to be desired however we've never encountered and problems and the environment betterss within one mile north.

"good location for a rest stop"

hotel was clean and well kept. rooms were average. Good for a quick stopover on a roadtrip. Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast was enough to get you going but certainly not special. The eggs were something to behold.

This Best Western is near the botantical garden and just a few minutes drive to Carytown and great restaurants. There is no view(well a view of a body shop) and surrounded by a stip mall, fast food restaurants,etc.

We have stayed here twice before so had no qualms about staying here again. The room we had was huge...king bed, little kitchenette with a full refrigerator, microwave and 2 burner stove, and sink. The staff goes out of their way to be friendly and helpful. Our only disappointment was that I made the reservations back in November. Come to find out on check-in that 3 weeks before they had made the entire hotel non-smoking. I know this would be good news for most people but my husband and I are both smokers. But we just went outside...not that big a deal! We didn't eat breakfast there so I can't comment on that but it looked good. All in all, a great hotel that we would not hesitate to stay at again.

"Good Value"

This was very convenient to I-95 and area dinning. Staff was very friendly and the rooms were clean. Overall a very good value. Stayed at another hotel on the way home and paid $60 more for a tired, lower quality room and no breakfast.

"insensitive staff"

Had noise problem and out of order phones. Staff was completely apathetic. There was a dog loudly barking for about 5 hours and my phones were not working, so I needed to walk to the front desk every time to ask for some relief. There was "nothing they could do." Yes there is - make certain that every time a guest registers with a dog, get their mobile phone number so they can be contracted if necessary. Seems basic to me!

"Nice stay"

Staff friendly. Close to a Walmart and a few fast food places. Our room with king bed was spacious and had a small microwave, apt. size fridge, sink, electric stove and sofa sleeper. Be advised kitchen is not stocked. Only problem was fridge was a bit loud. Free breakfast included waffles, breads, yogurt, fruit cereal and hot offerings. One day biscuits and gravy the next eggs and sausage patties. Quality of hot food was average.

Clean comfortable hotel they do serve breakfast,however I did not try it, but the breakfast area was full with guest every morning so I would assume that it was enjoyable.they have a large parking lot.friendly staff. close to restaurants, shopping, groceries, convenient stores, quick access to major highways, you would be hard pressed to find any fault with this place.

"Another great stay in Glen Allen"

We stay in Richmond visit relatives several times a year and have recently found the Best Western Glen Allen Hotel. It is conveniently located, a block from route 1. The hotel is well maintained and we have found the staff extremely welcoming and helpful. We travel with our two small dogs and they make it extremely easy for us. We have a room very near the side entrance which allows us to take the "boys" out for a walk really easily. Hotel is clean, well maintained, good breakfast and internet. All this for a reasonable rate -- what more can you ask?

"Great value, Great location"

Good value for the dollar. Parking is free and the hotel is very convenient to downtown Richmond. About 20 minute drive. Near the Ginter Gardens. Elevator building with quiet rooms. Breakfast is standard for this kind of hotel. Sure wish they would add fresh blueberries!

"One night some issues"

Spent one night here on business rate was around $72 which is a decent value for the area property is in good shape but needs some extras. I found the staff to be okay not overly friendly but responsive. My room was a king I hated the bed I hated the wall paint color Desk, TV, Internet were all fine Location is good covienant to Highway and walk to Waffle House and WaWa. Business center is one computer without proper anti virus or file cean up after use. There are people's tax returns, drug test, credit card info on this computer right now. If your using a business center and not removing your files your running a huge risk. Think people! Given the choices in the area I will probably stay elsewhere next time.

Hotel checkout was at 11am. The front desk called me at 11:00 exactly to inquire about checkout. I told them that I would be checking out in 30 mins. They called me back in exactly 30 minutes, then knocked on my door, startling my children. When I did check out at 11:45, the front desk charged me an additional $10 for a late check out. I was never informed of this policy, and it was not posted at the front desk, on my receipt or contract, or anywhere else at the hotel. The front desk associate, Asterid, was very rude and unprofessional. The manager, Mr. Patel/Patic, hung up in my face. I was very offended and plan to tell everyone that I know about my horrible Best Western experience.

We stopped in Glen Allen for one night en route back to NJ from FL. The Best Western Glen Allen Inn is a modest hotel and a good place to stay for one or two nights. It is clean and the front desk staff as well as the breakfast staff were efficient and welcoming. We would return again.

"Bed bugs"

I have stayed at this hotel before with no problems. But this time was different, stay in room 109. A few days later the red marks started . It was bed bugs and they are hard to get rid of. I don't understand hoe this is a Best Western Plus when it is a dirty as it is. I will not stay there again.

"Stay over" rooms are not cleaned regularly. The printer in the business center does not have toner. The washing machine is broken. The weight machine and bike machine is broken. The morning server does a great job with food service. The am clerk is greets and makes conversation over breakfast. I don't know why this hotel has such great reviews.

"A model for all hotels to follow!"

I arrived at the hotel around 9:30pm and was greeted by Carol. Her customer service skills immediately made you feel as if you were home and safe. As I was in the lobby, she clearly greeted each guest coming in and exiting in a manner that made them feel that they were really cared about instead of going through motions. My room, a mistake was made in my reservation as a smoking room and without hesitation, Carol corrected it. From the immediate entrance to the desk, lobby, elevator, hallways on all three floors, and the rooms and bathrooms, the staff without a doubt has set high standard that many high end 4 and 5 star hotels can not match in cleanliness. If my work routed me to stay in the Richmond area again, this is definitely the hotel of my choice. WaWa and Waffle House within 1/4 mile and 24 hours....what more can a single man need in the late night.

"Pleasantly surprised "

My daughter had a cheerleading competition in Richmond on the weekend. We really didn't want to stay downtown and pay to park so we choose Glen Allen. This hotel was clean and spacious; takes pets and let us check out a bit late without any fuss. The breakfast was all carbs, but we ate elsewhere. Fan in the room was quite loud but the walls are thin so it blocks noise from the hall and rooms above. Good deal for about $100.

We are seasoned travelers. Cleanliness is top priority, maintenance of property critical. I don't want to see frayed carpet, crumbling plaster, dirty grout, doors with loose locks and all the rest. This hotel passed my rigorous tests with flying colors. Beds comfy, fresh and inviting. Bath spotless. Room smelled clean, but no odor of chemicals or sprays trying to mask odors. Just clean. AC worked well. Even in Dec we used it. Can't comment on TV we did not turn it on. Husband was not feeling well but my WiFi was fast. Lovely soothing and tasteful decor. Breakfast hot and plentiful. Eggs, sausage, waffles, cereal many juices etc. Good protein selections. Excellent stay. Quick and friendly check in and out.

We stayed one night at the Best Western in Glen Allen. It's very well situated as a stopover for a long trip on the I-95. The room was good, and clean. What surprised me was the free breakfast. In every other hotel I've stayed at with a free hot breakfast, there's been some form of egg, and some form of either sausage or bacon served. Not here. It was biscuits and gravy; disappointing for breakfast. There wasn't really much protein content there. Biscuits - made from flour. Gravy - likely thickened with flour. Waffles - flour batter. Toast - made from flour. Bagels - flour. Well you get the idea,

room was clean and comfortable. Staff was helpful in finding a good restaurant. Not the best part of town but seemed safe enough. Continental breakfast was typical but staff was very nice. Over all it was good value.

"best western visit"

warning of hotel scam. Beware---arrived at hotel, checked in with no problem . In room about 10 minutes and hotel phone rang. Manager of hotel at front desk on phone. Said he was sorry but their computers had gone down and they lost our information. Would we give it again---name, address and charge card#. Husband about to give when wife recalled reading of a dangerous scam. Tried to tell desk we would come down--caller said no trouble to us--just give info. Hung up -called front desk..No one had ever called us from the front desk!!! They said this is happening at many hotels. We said they should tell people when they check in.

We were traveling between Cape Cod MA and Summerton, SC. We chose Best Western Glenn Allen because it was about ten hrs out. We were very pleased with our choice, the room was very comfortable ,clean and the pillows are very nice. . I went to sleep in 10 minutes which is a very good thing for me.

We were driving down from New York to Raleigh NC and stopped here for an overnighter before continuing. Our stop was unplanned and not researched. What a great find! Our room was very clean and quiet - we were near the end of a hallway. The service at reception was great. We've paid more for much less.

Everything you need at an excellent price! Hotel staff were very pleasant. My room was clean, and nicely updated. I enjoyed free internet, free breakfast and a very comfortable bed. This hotel is located in a very busy area of VA. Hotels nearby charge alot more and provide no more value than here. I'll stay here again for sure!

"Great price for short stay"

We needed an inexpensive overnight stay for our college tour trip to Richmond. This hotel was a great choice. The rooms were large and very clean. The beds were on the firm side for my liking, but that's personal preference. The free breakfast could have used eggs and bacon rather than sausage and biscuits, but again that's personal preference. The location was about 10 minutes from Richmond in a business area (but there were plenty of food options and even a fairly large mall) which was fine for our needs.

I have not stayed at a Best Western in over 10 plus years, but was pleasantly surprised when I decided to give the Best Western Plus figuring it would be a step up. I was pleasantly surprised and satisfied with the accommodations, cleanliness of the hotel, our room and service from the staff for the affordable price. Overall Review I would say it was very nice the breakfast could be a lot better more choices, more hot fresh foods, real juice to dink not artificial. Pool area was very clean, the water was so wonderful very nice area but needs some shade trees or some comfortable relaxing music would be nice. it was nice that the hotel wasn't far off the interstate, that's very helpful...

Very clean rooms. Comfortable beds. very spacious room. I was very Impressed. I was there with my daughter . Stopped in for some sleep on our way to a Florida road trip and I was very impressed of the size and cleanliness of the room. I felt we were the only one in the building since I heard no noise thru the walls or hallways. it was soooo relaxing . I will be Back. Thank you.
