    « Another superior BW property »

    This was a late night decision, having driven and toured points of interest all day, and having a natural tendency to stay at Best Western's whenever possible. Our late check-in was handled without difficulty, and our room was up to the usual BW standards. The HVAC system was adequate and quiet, the room was ample in size, all the appliances worked perfectly, and the beds were very welcoming. In the morning, the breakfast included items sufficient to satisfy every taste. Chalk up another plus for Best Western!

    I can't imagine that you'll get a better deal than this. We drove through Richmond on our way north so that we could hit DC after rush hour. Picked this property because it was perfectly situated. The desk clerk was very cordial and helpful. We asked for an accessible room and were assigned a 3rd floor room. It's the nicest and most functional accessible room we've ever seen. The tub has a seat that folds up - the shower is moveable on a post. Many many bars!! The only complaint I would have is low water pressure - but it was ok. Nice big TV - not sure how big but maybe 40"?? The bed was comfortable to me - I slept like a log! I just can't imagine that you'll find a better deal than this. Clean, almost new, well kept and cordial personnel. The breakfast is included hot and cold. Nothing special there but hey! - saves the cost of a restaurant meal. So if you're looking for a comfortable, clean, attractive hotel you won't be at this BW.

    We stay here twice a year coming and going NY to Fl. Seasoned world travelers know whats important and what is trivial. Check in and out is efficient and friendly. Grounds clean and well kept even on backside entrances. Interior common areas are clean, well lite and modern. Breakfast is hot and plentiful. Attendant is the same person for several yrs. Room is kept clean and food is always replenished. The room. This time 108. Massive, mobility enhanced. Kitchen with apt size fridge and dining table. Bathroom very large with all mobility needs covered. Towels fresh and thick. Carpet clean and well kept. Decor modern and tasteful. Bed clean and crisp. Extremely comfy with plenty of pillows. Tv plenty of channels good pic. Had dome problems with WIFI maybe distance from hub so I switched to my own data. Very quiet even with the presence of construction workerd staying at inn Very very nice. Cleanliness and maintenance are the key to this inn. Keep up the good work. I am sure you have many repeat customers who except this type of quality and you do deliver.

    « Average hotel good for an overnight stay »

    If you are looking for an hotel experience this is not the place. The hotel overlooks Route 1. Think that $115 + taxes for a one night stay is overpriced. Breakfast is the normal junk that all these types of hotels. Nothing is served fresh. The room was clean, but the air conditioning had a rumble.

    Good, clean facility, friendly staff, good rooms, well appointed, quiet, hot breakfast with juice, cereals and fruit. Good way to start the day of NASCAR Racing. With the track only one exit down I-95 and an easy 6.5 miles. Overall, great place to stay, with restaurants in close proximity.

    Very satisfied w our overnight stay, decent breakfast nice bed n room. Bath could have been bigger but was ok. Friendly late night check in girl. We will make this our return trip from Fla stay from now on.

    We stayed here last year and due to the cleanliness, staff and pet friendly there was no doubt we would be returning. Beds are comfortable, no issues with anything in the room. It was quiet, well lit exterior.

    Booked a two queen bed room for two people for two nights. Lady at the front desk was rude and treated me less than nice. When we asked for extra towels/shampoo/body wash the lady got quite rude and told my friend ?we don't have body wash? my friend then had to specify the ?body wash bar? and she gave her one. She was told to go to someone else for more towels and when she asked the lady didn't say one word and forcefully handed her more towels. Overall it's an extremely rude staff.

    Check in staff was welcoming and fun. We arrived late, but luckily they had a room available. The Bed was comfortable and breakfast was a great way to start a day of driving. Rate was good. The room was actually very large. We will definitely stay here again.

    Booked online and room was ready upon arrival. The desk clerk was very efficient. The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. There was a very good line up of TV channels. Breakfast was fair due to fried eggs instead of scrambled. Biscuits were fresh and gravy was tasty. I would definitely recommend this properly.

    Needed a chance to getaway from the ids and have a quiet and romantic time with the misses, so I booked a room at Best Western and enjoyed the moment. the room was clean and smoke free, beds was comfortable and the Front Desk Clerk was extremely helpful. I will most likely do it again at Best Western.

    « Centrally located - Very well priced »

    The rooms are very clean, the hotel nice. The hot breakfast is a welcome addition as well as hot coffee or tea all day. The only real complaint is that the beds are very hard. Other than that everything else was wonderful. The rooms are big with plenty of room (there were 3 adults in the room). Everything was clean. The common areas were well kept & nicely decorated. The front desk person, Carol, is a true gem with a great customer service spirit - super nice lady!

    Clean, comfortable and affordable. Very nice staff, very accommodating. It was wonderful that breakfast was included, and was actually very good! I would definitely recommend this location, and would not hesitate to to stay here again!

    « Great Hotel for Passing Through Richmond »

    My husband and I always stay at this hotel when passing through Richmond on our way to hike for the weekend. It's a great Best Western and we have no complaints. Like always, for Best Westerns, the breakfast is great. The rooms are nice. The staff is friendly. The last time we passed through we had our dogs with us which was no problem for the hotel and we were placed in a nice dog friendly room on the first floor. There isn't a ton of bathroom space for the dogs outside the hotel, but there is enough. It's a Best Western which we tend to equate with quality and we are never disappointed at this hotel.

    « AVOID AT ALL COSTS »

    Never go here!! Immediately upon entering the room, noticed stained and dirty bedding covered with body hair on not only my bed but my child's intended bed as well. When I complained to the front desl and the maid arrived to change the sheets, she argued with me claiming they were clean before calling me a slur in Spanish before relenting and changing bedding. She only relented and changed the bedding after I spoke to her in Spanish making her aware I am fluent. At breakfast the next morning, the male attendant yelled at me across the dining area when I had trouble with their waffle iron instead of walking up to me and showing me how operate it. Had noisy young neighbors under the age of 18 that were next door to us screaming and yelling all hours of the night. When we finally called the front desk at 10:45 PM to complain, they suggested we call the room and speak to the occupants (these minors) ourselves!?? After we left, I noticed that my ring was left in the room and not on my hand, which is entirely my fault. Called the front desk and the woman who answered said she would contact the maid and ask about it and put me on hold. Of course, the maid claimed she never had seen it as it was the very same maid who called me that racial slur and did not want to change our dirty stained sheets from the first day we arrived. Lady at front desk said that the maid didn't find it and that was that. We even drove back anyway to look through the room ourselves. The room had been changed and reset. The maid of course "never saw" the ring.  WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE EVER. Do not come here unless you want dirty rooms with lazy lying maids who steal your property to take care of your rooms. Absolutely zero customer service or professionalism. None. Will not come back and I encourage others to not use this hotel as well.

    The hotels are always very clean. The staff members go out of their way to help me. For example, the last time I stayed here, I was struggling to haul my suitcase while pushing my walker when one of the cleaning women came and said," Here let me help." That kind of friendly attitude is what I experience at all of the Best Western Hotels.

    Needed a place to stay when our heat went out. We had stayed there once before, so it was our first choice. Just 5 minutes from our house. It was a good stay. I have no complaints. Breakfast was ok. The guy working the breakfast was excellent!

    Very clean hotel, fast internet for work or browsing, complimentary hot/cold breakfast, near several stores and mall around makes this hotel a very good choice if staying in Virginia. We stayed here on our way to New York and absolutely no regret. We'll stay here again if have the chance. Only thing I'd recommend the administrator is to check the HVAC as the fan makes a weird noise once in a while

    We stay at this hotel regularly on our NY to Fl route. Room 110 has been consistently clean, fresh crisp linens, bathroom spotless. Towels plentiful and thick. Beds super comfy. The grounds are well kept. We cannot tolerate dirty grounds or unkept exteriors especially at back or side exits. This is well kept. Carol at the front desk is superior. Friendly and professional. Always. Breakfast good, hot plentiful. The man in the breakfast room does an excellent job. Now the not so good. The carpets are filthy. I dropped a spot of toothpaste on the carpet and went to wash it up. The rag was black. I mean black. Now the awful. The semi sheer curtains stood out as soon as we unlocked the door. They were filthy trash. This did NOT just happen. This is from months and months. Over the AC unit. Yes windows and AC units get condensation. Drapes get damp sitting on the ledge. It happens. No problem but to hsve it happen and for housekeeping to neglect changing the drapes OR getting them down and a good washing with a good stain or rust remover. OR go buy a pair of 7.99 semi sheers at the local "mart" until you can order new! No excuses. None. Housekeeping was negligent and lazy on this one. Carol offered another room but it was not necessary for this type of issue. I hope this hotel is not starting to go downhill. We look foreward to it. Will try again on return in the Spring and we'll see if it takes these things seriously.

    We needed to find a motel that was affordable serve a hearty breakfast and be convenient to downtown Richmond. The Best Western in Glen Allen fit all those criteria. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

    Hotel is old and in need of a complete overhaul. Our room wasn't even cleaned the day we were there. We got back to the room at 11:30 pm and the room hadn't been touched but we were too tired to complain.

    Had a great 7 day stay. It was quiet, comfortable, clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. This particular hotel is relative new so I hope that in the days, weeks, and months to come they continue to offer the same quality of comfortable and service. Being a senior citizen who is still working part-time......value and service are very important.

    Had a great time with my boyfriend. I was pleased to see how clean the hotel was upon entry. Nice decor as well. The lobby looks like it had some renovations including the room. Room was clean and very spacious. Microwave and fridge available. All staff were very friendly. Simple breakfast was available, the staff member handling breakfast was very attentive to cleaning up as people used items and also left tables, he also made sure no food was completely gone prior to refill. Very impressive. Overall had no concerns, enjoyed my stay other than noisy folks above us our last night. Suprisingly the walls are fairly thick not alot of feedback noise from other rooms. I would highly recommend and will be returning if needed.

    Adequate accommodations at a good price. Nice clean room and comfortable bed with all the usual amenities. The breakfast area is clean and well stocked and has a nice breakfast offering. Not enough pillows or towels and I was given a hard time when asking for an additional blanket.

    We were traveling with our pet so our choice of hotels is somewhat limited but Best Western has always had a good reputation. When you travel with a pet you also get the"pet" room. Consequently you tailor your expectations accordingly. The good:. Room was clean, beds and pillows were comfortable, staff were excellent especially the evening guy Biz, it was quiet and the price was right. The bad: The room phone never worked despite Biz's efforts, there was no hair dryer, and we had two small bottles of conditioner but no shampoo. You get what pay for. A clean no frills place to stay. I still need a hair dryer, shampoo and a room phone that works.

    This hotel is fantastic. It has a nice indoor heated pool and hot tub, fitness room and breakfast room that doubles in the evening for treats and coffee. We would strongly recommend this hotel for its amenities, friendly and competent staff and value for the money spent.

    Motel is just north of Richmond, a bit tricky to find from I-95 in the dark without a mobile map app...strong wifi, good breakfast, friendly staff...excellent value for the price...I had to leave my previous motel choice after one hour, because wifi was no good...it was excellent here...

    Motel is old and grungy. telephone didn't work. Curatains had brown stains all along bottom. beds uncomfortable. No cleaning service. Breakfast good. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Convenient location.

    Everything about this hotel experience exceeded our expectations. We recommend this hotel to anyone. Staff was super helpful, breakfast was great, very clean. Our only suggestion would be to have bigger pillows.

    « Weekend trip, 10/27 to 10/29/2017, to visit daughter who lives in Glen Allen, VA »

    Most of the trip we were with my daughter and her family...only slept there. Room smelled of smoke when we arrived. I should have told someone but since we were only there for a few hours on Friday and Saturday and checked out at 5:30am on Sunday, I didn't. No one came in to clean the room or make the bed the whole time we were there. We tried to watch TV when we were there but the reception was terrible. On Monday when I checked my bank records I noticed that there was a $250. charge to my account. I called them and they said that it was a cleaning fee because room smelled of smoke. I said that I wanted to speak to a supervisor. He was not in but she would give him a message to call me. I gave her my cell number and to this date 1/2/2017 he has yet to call. I called my bank right away to stop payment. They said that I had to wait for draft to go through after which I could dispute the charge, which I did. I called the hotel again to tell them that I did. They probably do this to most of their guest and most of whom don't know or don't complain. DO NOT stay there!!!

    « Not "BW Plus" worthy - more like a subpar EconoLodge »

    Disgustingly moldy bathtub. Bad tv. Lumpy pillows. Dark dingy hallways. Non-functioning sockets. Less-than-full "full breakfast". All this at a supposedly "Premium" Best Western Plus property. We paid a premium price for the equivalent of a below-average EconoLodge.

    You get what you pay for. The staff went out of their way to let us know they were not happy that we booked through a third party site. There was an issue with our reservation and they went out of their way NOT TO RESOLVE it. The breakfast was a very small step above "continental" and not very good. Scrambled eggs, sausage and waffles were the hot items the morning we were there. Everything else were typical hotel continental breakfast items. The rooms were clean and tidy although the hair dryer in our room had the back broken off so the interior fan was exposed and very dangerous. It also seemed to have a short in it and only turned on about half the time. The hotel did seem to offer "express check-out" which was nothing more than an empty front desk that had a fish bowl with a 3 x 5 card for your room key that said Express Check out.

    Avoid at all Cost - terrible rooms, noise all night long. Many of hotels in the area to choose one - CHOOSE ANOTHER PLACE TO STAY - any other hotel would be better than this - should have slept in my car; at least I would have gotten some sleep

    We stayed here on Saturday night My wife went to a concert at the Richmond coliseum .The hotel in general was ok. We stayed on the 3rd floor and the carpet in the hall was discusting.The room was neat and very clean.The breakfast area was good not a bad breakfast ive had worse. The staff were pleasent although a mob scene when we got there.very buzy we went and did other things and checked in later

    Unbelievably bad experience. I am a frequent traveler. I rarely stay at Best Westerns but this was one of the only hotels in the area with a vacancy. I have never encountered such a rude desk clerk. Now I know why they were the only hotel with a vacancy. Smart people know not to stay here. If I could give them a zero star rating I would.

    This was a safe, well lite, good breakfast place close to our meeting place. My Mom and I were low maintenance clients who desired a clean and safe hotel close to the church we were attending. We desired a nice breakfast, clean room and friendly/helpful staff. We were not disappointed :)

    The reviews were good and we needed a pet friendly property. My expectations were low though, as I usually choose Marriott properties, but I wanted to spend less for this one night. I was pleasantly surprised on all accounts. The part of town it's in is a bit disconcerting, but this property stood out as an exception.

    Clean, the staff is great. Bed slept well. Would stay here again if in the area. Breakfast was good, the same as all others for breakfast. The woman at the front desk was wonderful when we checked in. She made us feel very welcome. Hotel was quiet and comfortable.

    The room smelled like cigarette smoke. It was a "nonsmoking" room. The desk clerk was outside on their cell phone smoking a cigarette while I waited at the front desk to check in while they finished. I was in the room less than 12 hours and my clothes smelled like smoke when I left. It was late when I checked in and I left early in the morning so I didn't try to change rooms. I doubt I would have been accommodated so I just sucked it up. What was a little funny was I had to sign something saying I wouldn't smoke in the room or have a pet. Ha!

    Stay here almost every month. Nice clean place with very friendly staff. Good location. Newly remodeled location. Nice pool, good for business travel. Best Western rewards are a nice perk when staying at their properties.

    Absolutely loved this hotel. Very quiet location and friendly staff. We were greeted at check in with extra towels since we were staying in a jacuzzi room. Even better, we were minuets away from tons of shopping and food.

    Its not bed, not good, its just different. Originally stopped at a pet friendly hotel which was right on the highway. The lady there recommended this one, since the noise was a bit loud from the highway. This hotel was very quiet. The rooms were big and clean but of strange design with a kitchenette with no utensils and a refrig that stuck out a bit. The staff were very nice. There was a bucket in one of the side halls for a leak. The breakfast was only ok. I think you could do better. The pet fee was $20.

    We were on our way to the outer banks when one of our vehicles lost brakes in Glenn allen va. We searched for motels in the area and being a Best Western Diamond member, we decided to attempt to stay there. So we called and got 4 rooms for the night. It was a great decision to stay there, nice place, good people. Thanks to all.

    After a long day of unbelievable traffic on 95, we were happy to get to our hotel outside of Richmond, Va. The room was fine, outdoor swimming pool available (mostly used by children). Many nearby fast food and restaurants were available.

    It's an alright establishment, very comfortable rooms . Problems with loud guests , maintenance issues with room, moldy smell couldn't be removed . Hotel way overpriced in my eyes to be having so many problems. Kept getting asked if I was checking out everyday and other guests were never asked while eating breakfast.

    Stopped here on our way down to the outerbanks. We booked through hotels.com and checked in a little after 2am. The man at the front desk told us they aren't supposed to take any bookings after midnight, but since we already paid he adjusted some things in hos computer and let us stay, thank goodness. Our room was tidy, but could definitely been cleaned better. Mold around the tub grouting, yellow stuff neat the toilet lid hinges (gross) we found a hair on our "clean" bedsheets bit at 2:30 am all we wanted to do was sleep. The breakfast was decent, eggs, sausage, waffle maker, bagels, muffins, cereal, fruit, oatmeal & yogurt. So enough to get a bite to eat before going back on the road. For the price we paid it was what it was.

    This hotel has HUGE rooms, as well as a pool. My wife and I were happy with the staff as well. Plus, it's just a short drive to downtown Richmond, which is great! We would definitely stay here next time we are in town.

    Looking for an affordable place to stay. Got what we paid for. The hotel needs lots of updating. Front entrance doesn't represent the rooms. Carpeting and walls looks like someone with NO taste chose the decor! Easy place to find, just a little rough around the edges.

    Only stayed here one night, was fine for that, don't think I would stay there for a longer stay. The price was reasonable, and I like to stay at chain hotels where they at least strive to rectify any problems, none experienced here.

    This hotel is great. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Made sure we had a room on the first floor so we didn't have to go up and down the stairs with our dogs. Even recommended a great pizza place nearby. Continental breakfast was fantastic.

    We spent two nights here. The desk staff and housekeeping were very nice and helpful. The room was clean and everything worked well. The pool was very well maintained, and a nice respite from the heat when we were in the area. Free breakfast definitely met our needs. All in all, it was a good stay at a very reasonable price.

    I was driving from Georgia to New York, so I stopped at this hotel to spend the night before my last leg of the trip. I had no plans to explore downtown Richmond, but this hotel didn't seem too far away from the city, so it could be a good option for someone who needs something cheap and convenient. However, the hotel is in a bit of an odd area, and I wouldn't really want to be out and around it at night (mainly because it felt kind of secluded). Check in was easy, the room was nice enough, but, there was a stain on one of the pillows and on a towel. I didn't tell management about it because I was only going to be there for a few hours for sleep. Breakfast is subpar at best, and inedible at worse. There was apples and oranges, sausage and eggs, bagels and bread, a waffle maker, and cereal. It was a seemingly varied spread, however, the sausage and the "eggs" were terribly bland and definitely tasted like a manufactured product. I toasted a bagel for a egg and sausage sandwich and I couldn't even finish it. All in all, this is a fine hotel for a quick stay, and with the Hotel Tonight deal, the price is good.

    I tried calling the Best Western @ 804-266-3500 several times around 1:45 pm on July 2, 2017 to let someone be aware that we would be checking in late, as we were at Kings Dominion. After 5 times of trying to call the hotel unsuccessfully, I found the Best Western 1-800 number via internet and informed the operator of my situation. She was able to notate on my account that we would be checking in late that evening. We got to the hotel around 11 pm and were checked into room 216. We saw one of the beds had several pieces of hair under the pillows. I called and notified the front desk, in which we were relocated to room 316. The man informed me to email to inform management about the issue with the room. In room 316 there were additional issues, in which I informed the front desk about and the man informed me to include these additional issues into this email. -Someone ended up leaving a damp, white towel by the sink -there was several pieces of hair in the bath tub. I went to the front and asked the young man for some cleaning spray to clean the tub before we took our showers. -as we were leaving to take the hotel cart to the front, we noticed a bug above the door. I killed it and took it to the front to inform the front desk attendant. -The chair had some stains in it My husband and I had recently stayed in the Best Western Plus in New Orleans and enjoyed 5 beautiful days there. We had never stayed at a Best Western before but that's when we decided our family would start using Best Western moving forward because we had such a great experience with the staff and hotel cleanliness there. When we checked out, there was no one at the front desk but they had a glass jar with a hand written sign where you could drop off your room key. I have reservations for another Best Western in Arlington, VA for July 3-5, 2017. I am a bit skeptical on using Best Western for my family moving forward and do not plan to return to this particular location in Glen Allen, Virginia. Truly if it had not been so late (11 pm) in the evening, especially after spending an entire day at Kings Dominion, I would have left and stayed at another hotel. My family means everything to me and I hope you understand my frustration with my experience at this Best Western location.

    Excellent front desk. Rooms were a bit dated, but everything was clean and functioning. Parking lot is not huge. Breakfast area was nice,and free breakfast had enough variety for everyone. Would stay there again next time in town.

    This is a good clean pet friendly motel with plenty of space in the room. The Motel is convenient to interstate 95, but in a quiet area. There is plenty of green areas to walk your dog, The staff is friendly and helpful.

    Basic hotel, very solid experiences here (we stay here about 4-5 times a year). Location is great for highways, getting to South/Central VA or going North to DC., etc. Location to nearby shopping centers is not easily visible, but great food is found with in 3 miles of this location.

    We were passing through the Richmond area and just needed somewhere to stay. We are not familiar with the area and found it a bit hard to find, and were underwhelmed with the room-it felt a bit damp. The lobby and breakfast areas were especially nice and it felt like the rooms didn't get an upgrade in the same way those did.

    I thought that BW Plus would be equivalent to hotels like Hampton, Fairfield, and HIE. It was similar in shape, amenities and was OK overall but I would pick one of the others if given a choice. The answer I got about getting a late checkout was the crowning blow- $10 an hour added to your bill PER HOUR after 11am. Kinda summarized the whole experience!

    An always "MUST STAY" when traveling on I-95. A very well-run clean, convenient, welcoming, stop after a day of tense heavy traffic driving on that crazy stretch of I-95 North OR South Bound. Greeted by a very pleasant Astrid-as nice as the flower. And as far as GM Pateek, a man who always takes care of any concerns and is a genuinely involved and understanding pleasure to interact with....a definite PLUS for this Best Western Plus property.

    I'd find another hotel to stay at until they learn to respect CLC guests. We deserve our points. We also should be allowed to have a King size bed instead of 2 queens. The AC didn't work well enough, the beds were hard, it is showing it's age, housekeeping needs to do a much better job, lots of dust on the lamp, food still in the room I first checked into, pillows in floor in the 2nd room, internet was sketchy and not fast enough, front desk was rude, the maid was the friendliest staff member there. And it's spring time--people want to gather outside--there was NOWHERE to sit outside at all. I'd go elsewhere until improvements are made and they find friendly staff and make improvements.

    On returning home to another state my son realized he left his computer charger plugged into the wall of the room. We called repeatedly at night and after hrs of trying someone at the desk finally answered the phone: no charger turned in. Called again next day: no charger turned in. We know it was left in the room. Disappointing and we won't stay at BW again.

    Though this hotel is not right off the interstate, it is well worth the extra few minutes it takes to get there. The rooms are clean and comfortable and of a nice size, especially if you are staying more than one night. The staff is pleasant, with a good atmosphere. The price was good for the area, and we got an additional discount for staying more than one night. (In our case 4 nights.) which made it excellent. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

    Rooms are okay, good size. No hot water the whole weekend for showers. No housekeeping the whole weekend in many of the rooms including ours. Had to go to front desk to get your own towels. No communications from hotel regarding hot water issues. Large soccer tournament over the weekend. Hotel was full and everyone felt the same about the hotel. Very poor hospitality and still charges full rate. I've never been to a hotel where you never got housekeeping.

    It was nice to find a room at such a reasonable price at 1am without a reservation. Not fancy but very clean and we were in a super large room with a kitchen. Free breakfast offerings were the normal but we were able to eat on our low carb diet. Good service as well.

    The Glen Allen Inn is an upgrade from the regular Best Western, and offers larger rooms and a more varied breakfast. The road well traveled along the I-95 corridor allows for many choices in the Motel business. I have found that the Plus motels are more likely to be satisfying and this was no exception. In all fairness, this stay was paid for in Best Western reward points as I use my membership to the fullest.

    TERRIBLE. Problem with the front desk person.- rude, argumentative, and threatening. We confirmed a double room through Expedia but were given one bed and a sofa bed. When we opened the sofa bed we were totally disgusted. The mattress was stained with what looked like a large diarrhea stain. I complained that evening and was offered no solution- same cranky front desk person. In the a.m., I attempted to speak to the front desk person (different one) but she was on the phone discussing the office printer. I emailed the hotel manager twice for a refund and to ensure the mattress was discarded with no response. I emailed customer service. They finally offered me a $50.00 travel card, which they described as a fair offer, because I ?did still spend the entire evening at hotel ? Was that the point? We stayed a full night?..trust me, if we had an option to leave we would have- they refused to refund our money ( because we booked through Expedia)?so we had no other choice than to stay. We were NOT comfortable because we had to share a bed?but hey?$50 Canadian (not even the currency we used) is fair???

    When entered our non-smoking room, the first thing we noticed was the odor. A call to the front desk and they immediately got us in a different one. Not a good first impression. Our second room was fine but the decor was a it dated...think turquoise blue and avocado green. The breakfast was pretty standard...unremarkable. However, the staff was friendly, our room was clean and comfortable. Fortunately, the saving grace was the reasonable price we paid.

    We arrived at the hotel unsure of what to do about a hotel stay because Hurricane Matthew was bearing down in the state next to us and was headed our way. Then when I was checking in the hotel I found out I didn't had the reservation I thought I had made that morning. I had made the reservation for the next day. I was very anxious about having to find a hotel in the heavy rain and oncoming Matthew. The person behind the desk assured me she could make it work. She found a room and recommended we keep the reservation for the next day in case our plans changed as the hurricane changed. That was just the start of a good visit, At every turn the hotel exceeded expectations. The breakfast was outstanding and I have stayed in hotels for years. Good job.

    I spent one night here with my husband, adult daughter and 2 tiny dogs while attending a family wedding at the botanical garden. I contacted the hotel several times in the weeks before the wedding about an early check-in. We drove for 7 hours and arrived at the hotel at 1PM. We were tired and needed to shower and dress for the wedding. There was one car in the ample parking lot when we arrived. My husband, an affable, easy going guy went into the office to check in. He returned a minute later and said the extremely rude desk attendant tapped her wrist and said they were way too busy to check us in before the 2PM check in time. There was not another soul in sight. So, we took a ride to Walmart and Dairy Queen and returned to Best Western around ten minutes to two. The desk attendant said she was "busy" and left us to wait the 10 minutes before allowing us access to our room. We were the only people waiting. I hurriedly prepared to shower and noticed there were only 2 towels in the bathroom. I walked the short distance to the front desk and explained that we needed another towel. This same attendant stated that the rooms are set up for 2 guests, hence 2 towels. I explained that there were 3 of us needing showers. The attendant made a show of opening many drawers and cabinets behind the desk and shrugged saying she could not find another towel for us. At this point my smile was slipping and I asked if we could have one from one of the many, many unoccupied rooms. She huffed and puffed and eventually walked the 20 steps to the supply closet a few doors from our room and angrily handed me the towel. I have never had an experience like this before. The rest of the hotel staff were warm and friendly, the hotel was spotless and we actually made it to the wedding with minutes to spare but we will never stay at the Glen Allen Best Western again!

    What a pleasure to be able to say good-very good things...This is/was a real great choice after navigating some 400 miles on a crazy I-95. We needed something clean-very clean, peaceful-very peaceful, yet "reasonably" priced. This has/had it all!! AND the clincher was that the well-groomed gentleman that checked us in was, when asked was the PROPERTY GENERAL MANAGER. To make this stay A REAL PLUS, that same gentleman who checked us in was later seen running the vacuum cleaner himself. That's right a GM that leads by example It DOES make a difference!

    Booked this room online and prepaid. I gave my credit card for incidentals at check in. When I checked my CC I was charged twice for the same stay. I called twice and spoke to person at the front desk. Was assured it would be taken care of. Waited two weeks and finally contacted corporate and got my refund. The room was adequate. The lock on the door did not work. We could lean against the door and it would open right up. I notified the front desk and was told "oh that's right it doesn't". Ok, so why not get it fixed or don't rent that room.

    We chose this Best Western because it is a pet friendly hotel. It worked our fine for our little Yorkie. However, the front desk never notified housekeeping that we were checking out late, even tho we received clearance to do so. Also, our room key wasn't working in the laundry facility, and the daytime front desk staff was annoyed that we were having problems. It would have also been nice if the laundry facility had a coin machine since the machines were coin activate.

    The people are friendly and the pool refreshing, however Housekeeping, communication between Front Desk and housekeeping, hotel supplies and breakfasts need improvements. 1. Check in and our room was not finished as no towels in bathroom. 2. Bathtub was slippery and I slipped but didn't fall. Asking for bath mat, none was available so had to use pool towel. Subsequent days, no bath mat and had to use towel or go down to front desk. 3. Breakfast was very simple, only fruit were apples and oranges. Not like the other best westerns which normally has a full array of fruit.

    I asked for a room on the top floor, we got one but it didn't smell good when we went in. I called the desk to make sure it was a non smoking room and she told me it was (322). I told her it smelled like smoke but we would stay, I just didn't want charged for being the one to smoke in it. She said she would make a note of it. We did not eat breakfast there any morning because we had to leave before it started at 6:30 so I can't comment on it. Everything in the room was in working order but if you get a suite with a sink and hotplate, there are no dishes or utensils. I guess you have to check with the desk. We were here three nights. The first morning we met the cleaning lady in the hall and told her she didn't need to do anything but exchange towels, she was frustrated with the amount of work she had and it was not a big deal. The second day, nothing was done and we didn't return until after 5pm. We had to go to desk to get towels. I didn't complain but many would.

    our family of 5 (husband, myself, children ages 6,4,and 1) arrived late at night after several hours cooped up in the car. we had a reservation and the website says that children under 12 stay for free.....this is not the case. we were told that we could not stay in the same room together because it exceeds their occupancy for the double queen size beds room. we were told that we would have to leave because they were booked up and did not have a second room for us to rent, even though it would have been ludicrous for us to have to rent 2 rooms just because the baby counts as an adult. we travel often and have never had this issue with any other hotel EVER. so late at night we had to scramble to find another hotel that was more than glad to accommodate.

    The customers service was great, but it is great at 95% of the hotels I stayed. With blood stain on my bed, dirty toilet and slippery bad tub. I will not recommend staying here for $89.00 per night. Most of my stays are at Best Western, this one did not live up to the standard. A $49.00 per night hotel is better.

    We had a terrible experience at this hotel. Very understaffed. THe only person working was one girl at the front desk and she was working very hard to try to both answer the phone and take care of the long line of customers at the front desk. We stayed here about 6 years ago and had a great experience, which is why we chose to stay here again. There had been a storm the night before, and the power had been out. When we were leaving the next morning, the fireman outside told us that the hotel should not have been open, as the fire alarms were not working!! The hotel was filthy! There was blood on our wall and on the comforter. We went to the front desk and after waiting in line for 20 minutes to ask for new and she informed us that she had to wash one and we could come back to get it later when it was done...and change it OURSELVES, as she was the only one working in the hotel, no cleaning staff, no one!! It was not the employees fault. She was working very hard. So later, we came back to the front desk to wait in line again and get the "clean" comforter and change our own bed!! I reported this to corporate who said they would have hotel management contact me and have never heard a word from them! We will find somewhere else to stay next time!!!!

    My husband and I stayed here with our 8 month old daughter. The staff was amazing and friendly. The hotel atmosphere was kid friendly. The hallway our room did smell a little like smoke in the morning, but not when we arrived. The room we stayed in was clean. The breakfast was satisfactory.

    Came here 2 nights ago and did not notice the sheets had hair on both beds. The following morning II inspected them after my child saw one, then I noticed some on my bed. I could not believe my eyes. I immediately told the maid that these sheets were not changed before I arrived. They obviously only made up the bed after the old guests left. Also the bathroom was not clean either The floor was filled with hair. Absoulutely disgusting.

    « Great Hotel Despite Bad Storm »

    The BW Glen Allen Hotel in Glen Allen, Va., was our last hotel stop on the way home after a 2-wk vacation to Florida. We had no res. but were able to get a really nice room (very clean and comfy!) on the 3rd floor. About 30 min. later a really BAD thunderstorm with near tornado-like winds tore through the area, leaving the entire hotel w/o power (no air cond. on a very warm night!) and non-stop smoke/fire alarms blaring for a couple hours straight until local fire dept. came, inspected bldg. (there was no fire) and turned them off. My husband & I had maybe 2 hours sleep at most that night. VERY chaotic. Most people just stayed in rooms and dealt with it. Felt very sorry for families with children and dogs(allowed at this hotel). Quite scary. Even a small part of building's exterior roof, soffit and rain gutter came off (right above our room!!). BUT no one was hurt - everyone was safe. Power came back on (Yay!!) several hours later. We're home now, but my ears are STILL ringing from those alarms! I hope that the BW Corp. sees it in their hearts (and checkbooks) to give even a little compensation (gift card perhaps??) to all guests that night of June 16th, 2016 at the BW Glen Allen in Va., for what we all had to endure (after all we all DID pay at least $100.00 for each room). I know that Best Western Hotels is not responsible (of course) for the storm, but it would really show good Customer Service for its' brand. Aside from that storm (again, out of BW's control) yes, I would still definitely recommend the BW Glen Allen Hotel in Va., to anyone looking for a quality, CLEAN & COMFY room. Best Western is still the ONLY hotel chain that my husband and I have ever stayed at and always will. They are excellent quality, great customer service, (we even had unexpected UPGRADES on our trip!!!) and CLEAN!! :) One final note: I graded the hotel experience rating/survey overall on what it WOULD have most likely been like WITHOUT the storm experience! After all, as I've stated before, the storm was out of BW's control and not one of the area's 'attractions'! ;)

    I just checked in. The lady was to busy apparently to acknowledge I was there until I sad hello. When I checked in I mentioned there was a package I was waiting on and if I had anything and she immediately said no. She didn't even check for me, and she came across so rude about it I felt I would share. This is the service industry, if you cant be polite to paying guest maybe find something to do that you wont ruin a persons mood by being rude. Wont be staying here again.

    I made a reservation for the weekend, June 10th through the 12th for our son's tournament sporting event in the area. We have stayed at a few BW's, both Premier and Plus tier hotels from BW. I did not find this hotel to be of the same caliber as the other 'upper-mid-range' "plus" BWs. The only positive comments I can provide is that the room (King suite with sofabed) was very spacious and the front desk person (Carol) provided us with clean linens and extra towels upon request. -The room HEAVILY smelled like smoke/musty odor. The front desk person offered some "air freshener" to make it better. -There were two missing light bulbs from lamps. -Noticed a small hole (size of quarter) in closet -Bathroom door would not lock -Shower head was not secured/fixed to wall, only being held up by copper water supply line in the wall . -Mirror in bathroom dirty/smeared -Brown stains on sheer curtains (assuming from the air conditioning unit?) My family tried to laugh off the ridiculous of what we saw or had to experience. Additionally, there were no additional pillows available because this hotel was full this weekend. The next morning, as we left our room, we were stopped by cleaning personnel, and asked if we needed anything. I politely stated new towels, and replacement light bulbs for those that were missing. Perhaps, I was confused, because I would've thought that meant that the cleaning persons would come in, straighten up the room, new linens, AND PROVIDE NEW TOWELS, and bring light bulbs. We returned later that evening to an un-tidyed up room, old towels on the floor, etc. and fixtures without light bulbs! Perhaps it was the 'A' teams' weekend off. I would not stay at this hotel again, and told my family to reprimand me if I do something like this again. It made for a good "not what to do" lesson. We did not "experience" the 24/7 coffee, nor did we tempt ourselves to the breakfast. There's a McDonald's and a Starbucks within a few minutes drive. All of our non-worn clothes needed to be washed once we returned home.

    Made a reservation though a Best Western operator and the price quoted on the phone was not the price I was told to pay when I got here. It was $10 more. The front desk couldn't help and customer service wouldn't help. I'll find a different place to stay next time.

    I just stayed here 1 night while driving from FL to NY and I really enjoyed it. I booked on Expedia and then when I got here the front desk lady said there was a 20$ pet fee for my dog. Normally I'd be irritated about it but the lady was so friendly and welcoming that it didn't bother me. She even came out to say hi to my dog which was sweet of her. The room was a little stuffy but everything seemed pretty clean. People were having fun in the swimming pool when I got in around 10pm and it made me wish I'd brought my suit!

    We would stay at this hotel if we returned to the area. The staff, conditions and amenities of a high standard. There was easy access to down town Richmond and the surrounding area. The hotel was conveniently located to a variety of restaurants.

    Staff was very helpful. Room was clean and location suited our purposes. Day trips to Monticello and Montpellier and the capital of Richmond were easily accomplished. The free breakfast was plentiful and Chris kept things refilled and clean. Would recommend this hotel as a small friendly welcoming stay for anyone.

    My wife and I have stayed here several times primarily due to geographical location. The hotel is great but the neighborhood leaves a bit to be desired however we've never encountered and problems and the environment betterss within one mile north.

    hotel was clean and well kept. rooms were average. Good for a quick stopover on a roadtrip. Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast was enough to get you going but certainly not special. The eggs were something to behold.

    This Best Western is near the botantical garden and just a few minutes drive to Carytown and great restaurants. There is no view(well a view of a body shop) and surrounded by a stip mall, fast food restaurants,etc.

    We have stayed here twice before so had no qualms about staying here again. The room we had was huge...king bed, little kitchenette with a full refrigerator, microwave and 2 burner stove, and sink. The staff goes out of their way to be friendly and helpful. Our only disappointment was that I made the reservations back in November. Come to find out on check-in that 3 weeks before they had made the entire hotel non-smoking. I know this would be good news for most people but my husband and I are both smokers. But we just went outside...not that big a deal! We didn't eat breakfast there so I can't comment on that but it looked good. All in all, a great hotel that we would not hesitate to stay at again.

    This was very convenient to I-95 and area dinning. Staff was very friendly and the rooms were clean. Overall a very good value. Stayed at another hotel on the way home and paid $60 more for a tired, lower quality room and no breakfast.

    Had noise problem and out of order phones. Staff was completely apathetic. There was a dog loudly barking for about 5 hours and my phones were not working, so I needed to walk to the front desk every time to ask for some relief. There was "nothing they could do." Yes there is - make certain that every time a guest registers with a dog, get their mobile phone number so they can be contracted if necessary. Seems basic to me!

    Staff friendly. Close to a Walmart and a few fast food places. Our room with king bed was spacious and had a small microwave, apt. size fridge, sink, electric stove and sofa sleeper. Be advised kitchen is not stocked. Only problem was fridge was a bit loud. Free breakfast included waffles, breads, yogurt, fruit cereal and hot offerings. One day biscuits and gravy the next eggs and sausage patties. Quality of hot food was average.

    Clean comfortable hotel they do serve breakfast,however I did not try it, but the breakfast area was full with guest every morning so I would assume that it was enjoyable.they have a large parking lot.friendly staff. close to restaurants, shopping, groceries, convenient stores, quick access to major highways, you would be hard pressed to find any fault with this place.

    We stay in Richmond visit relatives several times a year and have recently found the Best Western Glen Allen Hotel. It is conveniently located, a block from route 1. The hotel is well maintained and we have found the staff extremely welcoming and helpful. We travel with our two small dogs and they make it extremely easy for us. We have a room very near the side entrance which allows us to take the "boys" out for a walk really easily. Hotel is clean, well maintained, good breakfast and internet. All this for a reasonable rate -- what more can you ask?

    Good value for the dollar. Parking is free and the hotel is very convenient to downtown Richmond. About 20 minute drive. Near the Ginter Gardens. Elevator building with quiet rooms. Breakfast is standard for this kind of hotel. Sure wish they would add fresh blueberries!

    Spent one night here on business rate was around $72 which is a decent value for the area property is in good shape but needs some extras. I found the staff to be okay not overly friendly but responsive. My room was a king I hated the bed I hated the wall paint color Desk, TV, Internet were all fine Location is good covienant to Highway and walk to Waffle House and WaWa. Business center is one computer without proper anti virus or file cean up after use. There are people's tax returns, drug test, credit card info on this computer right now. If your using a business center and not removing your files your running a huge risk. Think people! Given the choices in the area I will probably stay elsewhere next time.

    « Hotel Staff helped make my a TERRIBLE one. »

    Hotel checkout was at 11am. The front desk called me at 11:00 exactly to inquire about checkout. I told them that I would be checking out in 30 mins. They called me back in exactly 30 minutes, then knocked on my door, startling my children. When I did check out at 11:45, the front desk charged me an additional $10 for a late check out. I was never informed of this policy, and it was not posted at the front desk, on my receipt or contract, or anywhere else at the hotel. The front desk associate, Asterid, was very rude and unprofessional. The manager, Mr. Patel/Patic, hung up in my face. I was very offended and plan to tell everyone that I know about my horrible Best Western experience.

    We stopped in Glen Allen for one night en route back to NJ from FL. The Best Western Glen Allen Inn is a modest hotel and a good place to stay for one or two nights. It is clean and the front desk staff as well as the breakfast staff were efficient and welcoming. We would return again.

    I have stayed at this hotel before with no problems. But this time was different, stay in room 109. A few days later the red marks started . It was bed bugs and they are hard to get rid of. I don't understand hoe this is a Best Western Plus when it is a dirty as it is. I will not stay there again.

    "Stay over" rooms are not cleaned regularly. The printer in the business center does not have toner. The washing machine is broken. The weight machine and bike machine is broken. The morning server does a great job with food service. The am clerk is greets and makes conversation over breakfast. I don't know why this hotel has such great reviews.

    I arrived at the hotel around 9:30pm and was greeted by Carol. Her customer service skills immediately made you feel as if you were home and safe. As I was in the lobby, she clearly greeted each guest coming in and exiting in a manner that made them feel that they were really cared about instead of going through motions. My room, a mistake was made in my reservation as a smoking room and without hesitation, Carol corrected it. From the immediate entrance to the desk, lobby, elevator, hallways on all three floors, and the rooms and bathrooms, the staff without a doubt has set high standard that many high end 4 and 5 star hotels can not match in cleanliness. If my work routed me to stay in the Richmond area again, this is definitely the hotel of my choice. WaWa and Waffle House within 1/4 mile and 24 hours....what more can a single man need in the late night.

    My daughter had a cheerleading competition in Richmond on the weekend. We really didn't want to stay downtown and pay to park so we choose Glen Allen. This hotel was clean and spacious; takes pets and let us check out a bit late without any fuss. The breakfast was all carbs, but we ate elsewhere. Fan in the room was quite loud but the walls are thin so it blocks noise from the hall and rooms above. Good deal for about $100.

    We are seasoned travelers. Cleanliness is top priority, maintenance of property critical. I don't want to see frayed carpet, crumbling plaster, dirty grout, doors with loose locks and all the rest. This hotel passed my rigorous tests with flying colors. Beds comfy, fresh and inviting. Bath spotless. Room smelled clean, but no odor of chemicals or sprays trying to mask odors. Just clean. AC worked well. Even in Dec we used it. Can't comment on TV we did not turn it on. Husband was not feeling well but my WiFi was fast. Lovely soothing and tasteful decor. Breakfast hot and plentiful. Eggs, sausage, waffles, cereal many juices etc. Good protein selections. Excellent stay. Quick and friendly check in and out.

    We stayed one night at the Best Western in Glen Allen. It's very well situated as a stopover for a long trip on the I-95. The room was good, and clean. What surprised me was the free breakfast. In every other hotel I've stayed at with a free hot breakfast, there's been some form of egg, and some form of either sausage or bacon served. Not here. It was biscuits and gravy; disappointing for breakfast. There wasn't really much protein content there. Biscuits - made from flour. Gravy - likely thickened with flour. Waffles - flour batter. Toast - made from flour. Bagels - flour. Well you get the idea,

    warning of hotel scam. Beware---arrived at hotel, checked in with no problem . In room about 10 minutes and hotel phone rang. Manager of hotel at front desk on phone. Said he was sorry but their computers had gone down and they lost our information. Would we give it again---name, address and charge card#. Husband about to give when wife recalled reading of a dangerous scam. Tried to tell desk we would come down--caller said no trouble to us--just give info. Hung up -called front desk..No one had ever called us from the front desk!!! They said this is happening at many hotels. We said they should tell people when they check in.

    We were traveling between Cape Cod MA and Summerton, SC. We chose Best Western Glenn Allen because it was about ten hrs out. We were very pleased with our choice, the room was very comfortable ,clean and the pillows are very nice. . I went to sleep in 10 minutes which is a very good thing for me.

    We were driving down from New York to Raleigh NC and stopped here for an overnighter before continuing. Our stop was unplanned and not researched. What a great find! Our room was very clean and quiet - we were near the end of a hallway. The service at reception was great. We've paid more for much less.

    Everything you need at an excellent price! Hotel staff were very pleasant. My room was clean, and nicely updated. I enjoyed free internet, free breakfast and a very comfortable bed. This hotel is located in a very busy area of VA. Hotels nearby charge alot more and provide no more value than here. I'll stay here again for sure!

    We needed an inexpensive overnight stay for our college tour trip to Richmond. This hotel was a great choice. The rooms were large and very clean. The beds were on the firm side for my liking, but that's personal preference. The free breakfast could have used eggs and bacon rather than sausage and biscuits, but again that's personal preference. The location was about 10 minutes from Richmond in a business area (but there were plenty of food options and even a fairly large mall) which was fine for our needs.

    I have not stayed at a Best Western in over 10 plus years, but was pleasantly surprised when I decided to give the Best Western Plus figuring it would be a step up. I was pleasantly surprised and satisfied with the accommodations, cleanliness of the hotel, our room and service from the staff for the affordable price. Best Western Plus will be a choice in the future.

    Overall Review I would say it was very nice the breakfast could be a lot better more choices, more hot fresh foods, real juice to dink not artificial. Pool area was very clean, the water was so wonderful very nice area but needs some shade trees or some comfortable relaxing music would be nice. it was nice that the hotel wasn't far off the interstate, that's very helpful...

    Very clean rooms. Comfortable beds. very spacious room. I was very Impressed. I was there with my daughter . Stopped in for some sleep on our way to a Florida road trip and I was very impressed of the size and cleanliness of the room. I felt we were the only one in the building since I heard no noise thru the walls or hallways. it was soooo relaxing . I will be Back. Thank you.
