Best Western Plus Hotel City Centre Inn, Edmonton

TV randomly shuts off. Things in the room are broken. You can hear every noise as someone walk by you or talks in a room nearby. The staff were very kind and friendly. Although the pool was closed and no one told us on calling in to make a reservation or when we checked in. Seems dishonest but they gave us a reasonable discount when asked for it.

Our family needed a place to stay when we were traveling through Edmonton and I would absolutely recommend staying here. The pool and slide were clean and well kept. The staff was very friends and our room was also very clean. I would stay here again no questions asked.

Check in was fast and we used express check out. Room was modern and super clean. The pool and hot tub were clean and lots of fun. And the restaurant was amazing. It is also open late and has a great selection. Thanks for a great stay.

The hotel is located near a mall and plenty of food options. You can access a Tim Horton's directly from the hotel lobby. The staff were friendly and responsive. The rooms were clean. The bed was comfortable. Good internet connection.

We were in town for an Oilers game, convenient location, great access to rooms. The only complaint is the kids were looking forward to some pool time but could not stay in the pool very long due to the chlorine. Even sitting in the pool room without going in the water was hard on the eyes

Great staff always happy to help. Close to local amenities and short trip to downtown. Fenominal breakfast and lounge dinning. On site pool is a great way to spend some time with the family or just relax in the hot tub. Couldn't ask for a better place to stay in the Edmonton area!

Nice clean hotel located close to lots of fun places to take the kids. We got a room with a door to separate bedrooms to put young kids to bed early, and was perfect. Pool and waterslide were lots of fun. EVERY staff member we encountered was polite, friendly, and asked if there was anything we needed. Planning to stay here again next winter for a family holiday.

Best Western needs to update this hotel. For the price you pay the quality is just ok. You receive 500 points for a stay and that's a joke. You can't use 500 points for nothing. I think BW is definitely going down hill.

My partner and I stayed 2 nights while shopping and otherwise entertaining ourselves in Edmonton. This location is great for getting around the city and the shape of the building made our room dead silent all night despite being next to 109th street. Breakfast was delicious and inexpensive, including fresh fruit, and it felt very comfortable and cozy to eat looking out at the lights of the city.

Excellent location. On-site restaurant plus a Tim Hortons, across from a popular shopping mall. Only a $10 taxi ride to everything you could possibly need. It was -35 during our stay. The hotel was warm, clean and the staff friendly. The parking lot was cleared and the outside electrical plug-ins worked. Top marks!

Room was very clean/quiet. Check in was quick and efficient. Great location, right across from awesome shopping at Kingsway mall. Staff was very friendly, the Tim Hortons in the same building made it a hit for me

Always stay at this hotel because of location, the amazing friendly staff, cleanliness and for the amenities The kids love the clean fun pool and waterslide. The quality is always the highest. and we always leave satisfied

Very clean and comfortable rooms. Pillows and mattress was great. Old building that has been redone to a high standard. Pool is smallish but has a great slide for older kids. Breakfast special for guests was a good value. Had fun shopping at Kingsway, much better deals than West Ed.

I was initially hesitant about staying at this hotel because it is an older one. However, when I checked in it is clear they have significantly upgraded the entire hotel including the rooms. My room looked brand new. Service was excellent and so is the food at the restaurant.

The kids loved the pool and great slide! The Family room was perfect for 7 of us, 3 adults,4 children. The Kingsway Mall right accross the street was quite fabulous! Prices were extremely reasonable. We only had breakfast once and it was decent. The pizza was really tasty! The front desk staff were very pleasant and helpful.

The hotel staff were wonderful, from the front desk to the restaurant. The location was great and we were able to get around the city easily. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and the pool area was well-maintained - and the slide was so much fun!

The newly renovated rooms are so nice! Optik TV, lots of plugins/ports, sleek furniture and super comfy bed, pillows and linens. Convenient having a restaurant and Tim Hortons right there. The location is handy for attending medical appointments or watching the Oilers play at Rogers Place.

Staff were very helpful the breakfast was great. Kids really enjoyed the pool. Parking was a little lacking once all the other guests were checked in. I would check in to this hotel again. Other families staying there gave the kids some others to play with

Room had cockroaches that were into our food as soon as lights went out..scared the heck out of me when I went to put the food into a fridge later..overall the rugs were filthy..pool very dirty too..lots of hair in it..the hotel credited us back 21.48 for the cockroaches stay...if it had been clean with no bugs it may have been great...but not so..

Hello Dalice, There is no record of bugs in your room from our staff. Also, there is no record of a credit provided to you for the complaint. We have a contract with a pest control company who does regular prevention. They checked your room and there was no evidence of cockroaches. I tried calling but was unable to reach you. If you wish to reach out to me personally, please call and ask to speak to the manager so that I can get more information and help to resolve this issue for you. Nobody should have to experience what you stated and I want to understand the situation.

When arrived yesterday evening the desk lady was rude not welcoming. I was not happy with how she dealt with me , although I was BW Costumers for awhile. I felt bad about this last night. Secondly, she gave me room number 151 and told me take the elevator, I had a baby with stroller, we pushed the stroller upto the end . When I came to my room I found out my car in front of the room and the office was closer to come out and just walked back towards my room. But no one guided me . She was not informative at this point. Thirdly, I tried to talk to her to ask some information about meals and the swimming pool but unfortunately, she ignored me . She was not good costumer server at all. I'm not if she was trained or not. I normally get good discount on my stays at BW but last night I didn't when asked her she didn't give me sufficient answer However, I'm BW costumer and like them but I have question mark on this one . I apologize that this happened to you. You should never have to be treated in a rude way by our staff. Also, the staff should know not to direct you to the elevator to get to a first floor room. We do have some new staff and it is possible that they made a mistake when giving the directions. I will bring this up at our staff meeting so that this will not happen to future guests.

I had an awesome room with a fireplace and a 40 inch TV. 25 minute walking distance from Commonwealth stadium makes it the best place when going to football games. Awesome pool that I have used at my last stay

This is an amazing place to stay, it is a bit older but has had renovations and we were completely comfortable in our jacuzzi suite, staff were always so polite and helpful, parking wonderful especially when driving a pickup, it has a restaurant that is open to 3am and a Tim Hortons to get your early morning fix and it has an amazing mall across the street from it, from now on anytime we are in Edmonton this will be our new home away from home.

One of the worst hotel rooms I've ever stayed in. Listed as a “suite”- which meant they renovated a larger room to fit a queen bed directly in front of the door, and then have another queen bed at the back of the room. Worst room design I've ever seen. Absolutely no ventilation in the front sleeping area.

Staycation with friends and kids aged 9-11. Waterslide needs a descaling and better water pressure, kids kept getting stuck. Pool area is uncomfortably hot, pool needed cleaning (so much hair). Family suite room was spacious, quiet, beds comfortable, but carpet needs replacing. Light switch for bathroom on outside of bathroom door so prepare for screaming as your kids prank their siblings turning light off while they're in shower or toilet. Kids enjoyed Tim Horton's being attached to hotel. I did not love the advertising of vlts and off liquor sales - window in pool area needs replacing from some kind of hit from the outside. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Breakfast is not included in stay but is discounted but kids preferred Tim's.

The hotel was clean comfortable and convenient for us. Friendly and helpful staff. My grandson enjoyed the pool and slide. We requested to stay on the main floor and close to the pool. Nice restaurant, decent prices. Lots of free parking on site

This hotel was clean, quiet and the beds are very comfortable. The location was perfect for my business trip and easy to get to. Very convenient having a Tim Hortons in the hotel...I love my coffee and a shopping mall across the street.

Costumer service is awesome! Hotel is near where my appointment is. Clean washroom and bedroom! Comfy pillows! And ofcourse pool is tje best! We haven't tried the nreakfast as we have to checkout early

Very clean, all services you need, restaurant, lounge, tim Hortons, pool, hot tub, Computer room, small store, ice cream, pop, water, snacks machines. Lots of parking outside, great service and nice staff

The location was central to access north, west and south. Perfect sized (smaller) hotel with parking near exits. Easy in easy out. Warm indoor pool with waterside and hot tub. Booked the separated bedroom suite (bathroom in between the two beds) for added privacy. Family enjoyed that however one bed is then very close to door/wall and the running kids up & down hallway affected person sleeping in that bed. Partner enjoyed having Tim Hortons on location. Nice restaurant also attached.

Best Western downtown was a great hotel. The rooms were beautiful and the beds comfortable. Kingsway mall is walking distance away. The staff were very welcoming. The kids like the pool. We didn't use the restaurant but there is a Tim Horton's in the parking lot

Comfy clean rooms, beds were very comfortable. The pool, hottub & waterside were fun. Hotel is across from Kingsway mall and near restaurants & hospital for those staying in Edmonton for medical reasons. I will definitely stay again

Right from booking to arrival, I was impressed. Friendly helpful staff and the room was impeccable. The pool looked awesome even though we didn't use it but there was alot of kids in it having a great time. The lounge hours are great and although we didn't have time for food, it all sounded delicious. 10/10 would definately stay again and highly recommend!

Hotel is clean and updated. Rooms are large, and there is lots of free parking, which is kot always the case with hotels close to downtown. Great pool area if travelling with kids. Breakfast is not included, but there is a restaurant with discounted option for hotel guests, along with room service. The on-site Tim Hortons is also a plus.

We stayed for a single night. Its often tricky to find accommodations for our large family (two adults four kids) so when I discovered this Inn had a room that we could all fit in, I booked. What we ended up with was actually better than I'd expected. A bedroom with two queen beds, another bedroom with a king bed, and a living room with fireplace, couch and loveseat. Would have been lovely if the couch had been a hide-a-bed to afford just that much more sleeping space, but all in all, this was fantastic. Kids had fun in the pool and on the waterslide. Glad we discovered this!

Best bang for your buck. This hotel has a great location across from Kingsway Mall, close to the Royal Alexandra Hospital. There is a Tim Hortons right inside the hotel. The pool is clean, the hot tub was nice and hot. The front desk attendants had great customer service. Hotel is a bit dated but everything was clean

Staff are welcoming, friendly, attentive, knowledgeable and willing to go the extra mile. Very clean and comfortable, rooms are well designed, parking is great, handicapped stalls are easily accessed and building has a Tim Hortons!

Amanda at the front desk went above and beyond for my family and I. We were going through a rough time and she absolutely went above and beyond. She is amazing! Amanda, you made a really difficult situation a lot less stressful. Thanks girl!

We stayed in room 101, which is feet away from the pool entry door, which was the busiest place in the hotel. The constant noise form people running to/from the pool was annoying to say the least. Once the pool shutdown, the hallway outside our room became place for other guests to visit and yell at each other at 1:00 AM, 2:00 AM, and 4:00 AM. Furthermore, outside our ground-level window was the rear entrance to the lobby. This seemed to be the designated smoke-break area as people were there at all hours during our stay. Poor insulation in the walls and doors made it difficult to sleep without being interrupted by conversations and coughing outside the window and yelling in the hallways. We felt like we were in the middle of a busy train station. Do not stay here!

Room was okay just seem pricey, hotel seemed dated! King room, decent sleep, microwave way to small and small fridge didn't seem to keep anything chilled, great location for being close to the hospital and we didn't do any shopping but the Kingsway mall is just across the street! Oh coffee selection in the room wasn't that great! Should really look at updating your coffee/tea, keurig is the way to go, then at least you can buy coffee yourself, would stay there again! Cheers

You walk in and all staff remember you. Everyone is polite and very helpful. I have no complaints. Where else can you walk around in your bedroom slippers. All the staff were very professional and followed all public health orders. Extremely clean and sanitized counters etc.

We were there for a cheer competition and it was amazing! Staff was accommodating and friendly. Laurel, who was our server at the hotel restaurant, was a champ!! It was NUTS with so many cheerleaders running around. She was seriously the most amazing server and person!! We called and ordered food in as well as went to the restaurant to eat and she was there ALL weekend! Thanks Laurel, you are the absolute best!! PS the food is delicious and family friendly! Rooms were clean and comfortable. Highly recommend!!

What a pile! From word one it was a total waste of money and a most unenjoyable stay. The best part was the dinner upstairs. They promised free breakfast -NOT free. NOT a suite just 2 beds in separate rooms. Too much furniture crammed in small rooms with barely enough room to walk. The tv's didn't work. The pool was cold and the hot tub only ran for a couple minutes at a time. The Tim's attached is a hang out for all the scummy taxi drivers in the area and they made my wife feel dirty just being near them and she refused to go back in there. I am never going back to Best Western because this is their way of doing business now days. There were many other issues but I am done. Osta la bye bye

Exceptional service, clean, quiet rooms, great location. Runway 29 (restaurant located upstairs) has great food and I have never had anything short of great meal. Runway 29 also serves bannock with their meals which I have never seen before in a restaurant. This was an absolute treat to see. Tim at the front desk is also exceptional! Strives to ensure all guests are treated with the utmost service and quality.

We stayed at the Best Western Plus City Centre Inn because of its closeness to Commonwealth stadium. From the outside we were not sure if we had made the right choice, however the rooms were great, looking like they had been recently refurbished. The rooms were large, very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful, parking was easy, and the pool and the hot tub were clean and well maintained. Would certainly stay again.

Rooms are very tidy and decent size, beds comfortable, and our son loved the water slide & hot tub. The front desk staff was quick to help us upon arrival and made sure we had everything we needed. Ei: crib We'll be back in the future for sure. Thanks.

Came for the Bombers football game & the room was great. The big chair in the queen room was awesome, wish more hotels had that in rooms. The pool & water slide is incredible but was a little dirty with hairs here & there. Restaurant on the top made a good breakfast. I think it was Christine who served me & she was fantastic

Room was great, staff was great, location was ideal for my purpose of being close to NAIT. Shopping mall was close by, and my kind of stores were within easy reach. Definitely will use this hotel again when going back to Edmonton.

Had booked at another hotel, but was turned away because I am mask exempt. Called and spoke to Tim, he said that it was no problem. As my fiance was getting spinal surgery, and I had no where to go, he also sorted out an early check in for me. When I showed up he not only checked me in, but also made a point of making me feel like a valued customer and made sure that I knew all of my options for food in the area and let me know if I needed anything to just call him at the front desk. I can't say for sure that he put me near the end right by an exit door on purpose, but I appreciated the fact that I didn't have to deal with any other patrons who might have an issue with my mask exempt status, and was an easy in/out after an already long and taxing day. The room was modern and beautiful, and the beds were comfortable.

I loved the "motel" feeling of the rooms area. It made it feel more private and we were able to just walk right out to our car. The pool with the water slide was a huge hit. The place was decorated very nicely and extremely clean. Tim hortons attached was a great added bonus! We didnt have to run around the city first thing in the morning looking for our caffeine fix.

This hotel has got to be the best place to stay in Edmonton. The staff, the rooms the location, amenities just everything makes you feel like you are home away from home. This Best Western is always top notch

This hotel is part hotel and part motel, it is a U-shape building. If you are stuck in the motel part, it is a very long walk through the hallways to get to the pool. If you are expecting the usual complimentary breakfast, you will be disappointed, as this particular hotel does not provide it. I definitely would not recommend this hotel.

I am sorry you did not enjoy your stay. We have 6 different key access entry points to make it more convenient for our guests to get to their rooms. While we do not offer a complimentary breakfast we do offer a discounted breakfast which is a fresh made to order meal. I would love to earn another chance to earn your recommendation as I know we can provide you with a better stay.

I am happy to review that we stayed at the Best Western Plus in Edmonton's city centre on August 20th, 2021 (we checked in at 8:00pm). There were a couple hiccups in the check-in as dates of stay and also the room we had booked were not immediately worked out due to having a common last name and having two reservations confused. The lady at the front desk was happy to track down the issue and get us to where we needed to be, I unfortunately was unable to catch her name. Once to our room, we had ample space for our family (2 adults, 3 children) and were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and amenities provided. The beds are comfortable and all appliances worked without incident. The family suite contains two separated bedrooms and a living room type area. One bedroom has a king size bed and the other has two queen size beds… There is also a couch. Ultimately, I believe a family of up to 7 could comfortably stay in this suite. Our family also utilized the pool area and are pleased to report that the pool and water slide are a hit with young ones and the hot tub is a total win for the parents! There is not a continental breakfast provided, however, there is a Tim Horton's and another sit-down restaurant attached to the hotel. I believe we paid a reasonable amount for what we received and would highly recommend this hotel to others in the future.

Room was very unclean. Smelled musty and smoky in spite of being a nonsmoking room. On my third night there I found a bug in the bed (literally in the sheets) and contacted the front desk. The front desk staff was very helpful that evening but the manager was extremely rude and dismissive when I tried to discuss it with him.

I am sorry that you did not enjoy your room. I apologize that the manager came off as dismissive. As a hotel we make sure to do lots of pest training. The bug you mentioned was shown to us and it was not a problematic species. We take these matters seriously and do training as well as preventative measures to ensure we don't have any problematic pests.

My family had an unexpected delay in our trip to Edmonton and had to extend our stay last minute. The staff helped us out immensely by keeping us in the same room and assisting us with some amenities. The breakfast offered at the restaurant was delicious and the hotel is perfectly situated for lots of tourist activities. A huge thanks to Richard and Douglas at the front desk!

When you walk in you are met with smiling eyes (COVID) and always called by your first name. It is like coming home. The staff go out of their way to make everything great. Very quiet, clean place to stay and centrally located

We had to take our kids to the city for a visit and the hotel was awesome. The pool was open which was great. The staff was super friendly and even helped us get a better deal for our stay. Thank you for making our trip more enjoyable amongst the doctors appointments.

I had to stay for a quick business trip and was very impressed. My last stay here was over 20 years ago, which was not a good experience. However the location is top notch - close to some great city amenities (see their description for more info on that!) Now however, greatly improved. Entire hotel has been renovated.Rooms are small but comfy. Fridge and microwave in room was definitely handy especially during the pandemic (and being celiac on top of it all). I was able to go to a grocery store to buy a few things for breakfast I kept in my room. The bed also was very comfy. I haven't had such a great sleep in a long time. There's also a Timmies I also ate once at the Runway 29 for dinner and the food was phenomenal. Gluten free is clearly marked on the menu and so I felt very safe. Prices reasonable and the service great. The hotel front desk also went above and beyond so I wanted to give them a shout out as well. When I first checked in I noticed a room of rowdy teenage boys a couple doors down. Screaming and running up and down the hallways. As I was there on business this would present a great distraction. I asked for another room and was immediately provided with one on the second floor. I very much appreciated that!! Thanks for a great stay, I will definitely be returning!

I always stay here when I come to Edmonton. The staff remember who you are, where you are from and what you need. It is like a second home. No need to go anywhere else. The only thing is I wish when times return to normal, that they would supply a shuttle to the big mall.

I'm glad that this is your home away from home. That's how I want all of the regular guests to feel! I am not sure if an inhouse shuttle is in the cards at the moment, but that is a great suggestion!

My husband occasionally has to go to the Royal Alexandra Hospital, and this hotel is within easy walking distance. It eliminates having to drive in the morning traffic, and park at the hospital. The hotel is older, but modernized. Great staff. They give a "Hospital Rate", but it is still a bit more expensive than some other properties. Worth the convenience.

This hotel is awesome for the price. The pool and slide keep us coming back! It's great booking for an hour and getting the whole thing to yourself. We used it many times during our stay. The staff are friendly, love the parking set up and across from the mall. The restaurant upstairs has good food and great staff. Super friendly and quick.

We had a week long stay at the Best Western Plus City Center Edmonton. This is now going to be our Edmonton go to hotel!! All the staff is amazing and welcoming, from the front end, to house keeping and the lounge staff upstairs ( which has phenomenal food). Everyone went above and beyond. The rooms are clean, beds are great and a perfect location.

I arrived late one night early September for an emergency appt for eye at Royal Alexandra Hospital. Overall, it met my needs. Quiet room, comfortable. Was in at midnight out at 7am ish. Only thing I didnt like is seems people hang around by attached Tim Hortons - not at Main Entrance, but have to pass by to get fr car, and people are cigarette smoking. Other than that, wanted to compliment. The rate was significantly higher than other options outside core. This is by what was YXD Edmonton Municipal airport -which is closed permanently. Overall, was nice to have decent place to lay head fbefore morning. Staff good, courteous. They did express checkout as I had no other charges. I would refer ppl, just I was slow getting review in

I appreciate the great rating and thorough review! We do have designated areas for smoking on our property, but unfortunately these areas might be missed by some guests. Our rate can be a little higher than some of the other nearby hotels, but we offer a pool area with a 30 foot water slide as well as having free parking and 2 restaurants on site. I am glad we earned your referral and we will work hard to treat all of our guests right!

Two of us were in Edmonton on family business for a two night stay. Reservation and check in was simple, everyone from the front desk, the room staff and the restaurant workers including the chef were naturally helpful without being over the top. Obviously Best Western hire the right people for the job. We had one dinner for four and two breakfasts in the Runway 29 restaurant, all the food was properly prepared, presented, tasty and fresh and a reasonable priced. The view from the corner windows was unobstructed looking out over the old municipal airport. Our room was spotless, the bed was comfortable and you could tell that they took Covid 19 protocols seriously, the entire hotel looked and felt clean. I have no problem giving this Best Western a high rating and I think that full credit should go to the hotel staff. James Roberts, Cochrane, Alberta

I booked suite just because I get sofa bed. Kids can sleep separately and how they want. Room had only 2 beds. There was partition between 2 rooms but I don't want to pay extra $40 for partition which does not help. Washroom was 5x5 including bath tub.

Our hotel is a great place for families and we have families who have been returning to us for years. They love our pool with waterslide and the family friendly restaurant. We do not have sofa beds, and do not advertise as such. We do have a suite with a living room and two bedrooms including a king bed, and two queen beds. The room that you booked is one with two sleeping areas with a queen bed in each area and a television in each area and a door in between the areas. Again, there is no sofa or sofa bed in the room that you booked and it was not advertised as such. If anyone has any questions about the layout of the rooms, please feel free to call the hotel and we will be happy to help.

You can't be the service and accommodation at this hotel. From our phone call to make reservations, Jesse went to the extra effort to be kind and compassionate to our needs and remained the same during what ended up being 30 days. All of the front desk staff, the cleaning ladies, the maintenance man, the waitresses all ensured that our needs were tended to without hesitation, not to mention the manager who took the time to talk to us and help us out. They all helped us through a very difficult time and we will never forget any of them.

It is hard to be in a hotel for a month especially when you are dealing with a difficult situation. You and your family were so kind to all of the staff. You will have a place in our hearts and I hope to see you again under better circumstances.

There is nothing bad I can say for this hotel, I guess the only thing I would complain about is, the main door. Reason when it rains the back doors do not have any type of cover from the rain, they lock the main doors and won't let us use it to habe a smoke. Othet then that over all it's a hotel you will like, the staff are all very courtious and professional.

my stay before this recent one was horrid! This time, not clean either. A little less than half roll of toilet paper on the roll. The last person who was in the room I assume, long black hair on the bath tub and inside the bar fridge, open package of soap left on the bath tub and not clean bedding. During this covid time, makes you wonder what they actually cleaned in there. How can I be the only person experiencing negative things from this hotel?! We were there because my husband had surgery in Edmonton. There was no way I was paying their price for another night.

I am very sorry that you had a bad stay. As you can see from the rest of our reviews that this isn't the norm for our hotel. We take cleanliness very seriously, especially during this pandemic. Your poor experience was noted and we will be taking steps to make sure these types of situations, even though they are very rare, do not happen again.

When taking friends or family for medical trips this is a fantastic place to stay. The companion room allows for privacy but also the albility to be with the patient. Having a Tim Hortons on site is a great bonus.

This Best Western Plus is a very nice place to stay. Very comfortable. Staff are very nice & friendly. They are helpful & go out of there way to make it comfortable for you. My husband was going for surgery & this hotel is close to the hospital which makes it easier for us.

Very very well maintained and upgraded hotel and restaurant. Absolutely no complaints. The bed was very good, nice linens, clean room throughout. Restaurant where we had breakfast was very clean and the food tasty. Sometimes when you check into a hotel you are never sure of what you will find so needless to say, when I say I had no complaints, it means that there were absolutely no nasty surprises - just quality.

The staff make this hotel amazing, they have gone above and beyond to make our stays the best. We travel to Edmonton for medical and this is the hotel that has always been worth it. Close to amenities and even has a Tims that literally made it the best place, for my mom.

We needed a hotel due to stay near Royal Alex Hospital and due to Co-Vid this hotel went above and beyond service. They provided meals we could order in advance that we sure appreciated. We have never stayed here before but are guessing this is their usual norm in providing such great service.

Currently staying here. The staff are excellent and the room is very clean and nice. Due to covid the pool and fitness center and lounge are not currently open. I would recommend this hotel to anyone needing to stay in Edmonton.

Needed to be close to the hospital. Was put in a room on the second floor next to the noisy elevator with my senior mother. Very noisy. Sketchy people everywhere. Felt afraid of getting robbed or being physically harmed . You couldn't pay me a million dollars to stay there again

I am disappointed to hear that your stay at the hotel did not go well, Corey. We have some rooms near the elevator and some that are not. It was a busy night when you were here, and it is possible that there were people in the hallway who were not respecting the quiet time. The walls in the hotel are concrete and the doors are fire doors, but it is still possible that some sound can be heard if other guests are too loud. I don't know why there would be people who are questionable at the front entrance of the hotel. We do not have a history of people being harmed at the hotel, and nothing bad happened to you. But if there is somebody who does not belong here, we would eject them from the property. If you ever have questions or problems with anyone here, or with any noise in your room, please do not hesitate to contact guest services anytime, day or night, and we will take care of it.

The rooms are newly renovated and are crazy cozy! There is a lounge area, that has many local craft beers on the menu, above the Tim Hortons restaurant. There is also a large mall(Kingsway) right across the street! Very close to Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (N.A.I.T) campus. 2 blocks from a major hospital (Royal Alex). This hotel centralized in the city with access to most, if not all amenities.

Great place to stay if visiting someone at the Royal Alexandria hospital. It is close to the hospital, right across from a mall if you need anything. Restaurants nearby. Rooms were very clean and modern.

Clean, quiet and comfortable hotel. The staff are friendly and efficient. The beds are very comfortable, as are the pillows. I became Ill the second day after arriving and they were great bringing extra tea and salt to our room for my sore throat. I slept so well that purchased the pillows from them.

Due to an unfortunate visit to Edmonton, we stayed at the hotel because of the location near the Royal Alexander Hospital. Just under a kilometre away and if you are walking, you can take a shortcut through the Kingsway Mall. Rooms were spacious and clean with comfortable beds and linen. I was pleasantly surprised with two types of pillows (soft and medium). Plenty of drawers and adequate closet space. Check the many amenities are listed on their website. Hotel has attached 24-hour Tim Horton's and Runway 29 Lounge (where we also dined for breakfast). The Kingsway Mall (across the street) is great with a large variety of eateries at the Food Court. Moxie's Restaurant is also within walking distance. The Kingsway LRT is a couple blocks away, if you wish to leave your vehicle and head downtown. Staff were all very friendly and courteous. Next time we're in Edmonton, we will stay here again.

We arrived at the front desk on Nov. 7, 2019 and asked if any rooms were still available. Staff at the front desk said there were 4 rooms left. He gave us a reasonable price on one of the newly renovated rooms. The room was beautiful – complete with a cozy fireplace. The way this hotel is set up with a hallway around the edge, makes the rooms very quiet. You hear no traffic noise. The room was clean and very comfortable. We never need the amount of huge pillows that are in most hotel rooms, but maybe other guests like that many large pillows. There is a Tim Horton's on site but you can go to Tim's anywhere. With the room stay we could go to Runway 29 restaurant – above the Tim's and have a huge breakfast – bacon/ham, eggs, hash browns or pancakes for $9. This coffee included in this price was fantastic. Fresh fruit was also included in this breakfast. Service at the restaurant and the hotel was second to none. Be sure to take them up on the breakfast deal. I want to go back there just so I can have that amazing, relaxing breakfast again! Thank you Best Western Plus City Centre Inn and Runway 29 Restaurant – you are a great team.

I recently stayed in one of the modernized updated rooms that included an attractive new decor with a touch operated fireplace, built in dresser and tv. The beds were so comfortable and I had every convenience needed for a very comfortable stay. The room was clean and well supplied with microwave, mini-fridge, coffee/tea machine and towels/linens. I stay here often as I love the ease to get to anywhere in the city as well has having Kingsway mall so close and accessible. Great job on the upgrades! I will continue to stay here when in Edmonton.

Always feel like family. The staff ALWAYS goes out of their way to make sure my family and I are comfortable and taken care of. The lounge upstairs has just introduced a new menu which is amazing and delicious, staff in lounge is super friendly and accommodating. Upgraded rooms are beautiful. The room (on the 2nd floor) was comfortable and quiet (as requested), the bathroom lighting was good, and the location was pretty handy to downtown. This was the first BW Plus I've seen without a free buffet breakfast, however the breakfast special (in Runway 29) was very good and made an adequate breakfast.

I was put up in this hotel for work, the hotel is so close to everything, Kingsway mall is literally right across the street. The room was clean the WIFI was fast and an added bonus Tim Hortons was right inside the hotel as well. The pool looked awesome, the fitness room had everything I needed. All in all it was a great stay. I would definitely stay there again.

My husband was in the hospital and I stayed here, Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Brought me a luggage trolley to the door closest to my room, always asked if there was anything they could help me with and offered to take my luggage to my car on checkout. Our room was clean and comfortable - I had asked for a quiet room and got it. The restaurant had great food and the staff friendly - service was fast. Will always stay at this hotel if I have business in this area of Edmonton.

I am glad to hear that your stay was so nice. It can be hard when a loved one is in the hospital so we definitely try and make things easier for our guests.

We stayed one night with our adult son in our room; this hotel has rooms that have two queen beds but there is a wall and door between the two so we all got our privacy. Bed was comfortable, and rooms were very quiet, even on a Saturday night. Hotel guests get a discounted 'express breakfast'for $9 - we had a two egg omelet, with hash browns, toast and coffee or tea or juice, and fresh fruit. A great deal! We stay here every Thanksgiving for a larger family even in Edmonton.

The hotel is very nice and clean. They have an on site 24hr Tom Horton's, and a nice lounge/restaurant. The rooms are very nice and clean. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The salt water pool and hot tub were by far my kids favirite part. (We had it all to ourselves one night for 2 hours.) The only negative thing I can say about our stay was that the parking lot is a little tight if you have a bigger vehicle.

Thanks for the awesome review! It sounds like you and the family had a fantastic time. The parking lot can be a little tight because we are a very busy property, but we can always find you a place to park!

Love the pool with water slide, wifi, Tim Hortons. Friendly staff and good service. Clean, comfy, spacious rooms. Love the location, mall is right across the street. Great for families and it's nice to be able to grab a coffee and go.

We got a great rate on a single queen room 204. It was a quiet, clean room on second (top) floor. It's within ten minutes walk or $7 taxi ride to the Royal Alex/Lois Hole/Mazankowski. Kingsway mall is across the street. There is a Tim Hortons on site and a Runway Lounge 29 with good views, food and service that also does room service. There is a full hot breakfast for $9. Front desk staff are wonderful. Infused water available at front desk. My only complaint was, if this is a queen bed, It's the smallest I've ever been in. Seems more like a double. Other than that, fantastic place for the area.

Thank you for such a great and detailed response! Our location is pretty tough to beat and it sounds like we are a great fit for you. Our Queen beds are indeed Queen beds. I am not sure why they would have felt smaller.

We have stayed at this Inn off and on for 22 years, starting in 1997 and gave always been treated well. Are able to leave the vehicle there after check out while attending medical appointments. In 2010 we were there for a week when I had cancer surgery & the restaurant even prepared special food for me. Able to plug car in during winter months. Close to the mall for shopping & easy to get a taxi there to go downtown.

great place to stay. We were going to Glenrosa hospital, so it was close. The room was great, and the best thing was the mirror in the bathroom, to see the back when doing your hair! Such a little luxury, but so appreciated! We used Best Western points for the stay and still even earned points. Would have paid the full price if we didn't have enough points.

I appreciate the fantastic review! The little vanity mirror is a great addition and I am glad you were able to make use of it.

Hotel/motel convenient to get to Nait, restaurant and front end staff friendly and onpoint, just check the sheets and towels, the pool was comfy and hot tub was good for the back after a long drive. Food was tasty and cheap as the discount came into play for stayin there.

It was an excellent stay. I find the location of this hotel is very convenient, close to Kingsway mall with a lots of cool stores and food court. Big parking lot. Tm Hortons s right in the building which is a bonus. I got upgraded to the better room, which I appreciate. The check in process was quick and easy, check out was express. The room was spacious, quiet. Very nice bed, comfortable mattress and lots of pillows. Nice duvet blanket.

Well actually its only a 20 min walk but city centre sounds closer... However great price, great hotel, fantastic food and a Tim Hortons next door. A mall across the street made it a great stay! Friendly staff and a pool completes it!

My brother and I stayed here so we could go to the Labour day rematch (CFL). What a great hotel. Staff were great, always able to give us good direction or advise. Short walk to the LRT to get to the game. There is a mall across the street, and an aviation museum close by too. Next time I am in Edmonton for football, this is definatly where I will be staying.

We stayed at this location for a concert at Rogers Place and it was close enough to walk and avoid traffic and transit. We were pleasantly surprised that it is located across the street from the mall. The staff here are extremely friendly and helpful

One small elevator and your room could be on the other side of a very long hike. That's what happened to me with an injured foot and wearing an airboot. The room assigned was almost completely on the other end of the hotel,a ridiculously long walk with luggage. The large picture window looks out into the hallway. The bed was very comfortable. The room was clean. The AC worked well. Ultimately, not up to the standards of the usual Best Western Plus. No free breakfast, check in staff who seemed oblivious to the fact that the room was a very long way for someone with an airboot to walk, and pillows that need replacing.

I am sorry you did not enjoy your stay. We try to accommodate everyone who has mobility issues, but on busy nights it's not always available if we haven't been informed beforehand. I hope that you will give us another chance. We do have a number of rooms that would be quite a bit easier for you to get to.

Just wanted to say that Jesse who checked us in on arrival on August 18 th was fantastic! He was funny, friendly, fast and efficient. Most importantly though he had several great suggestions including the restaurant for dinner and recommending and arranging for a taxi to pick us up and take us to the hospital the next morning instead of driving our car and paying for parking. I had never thought of doing this and it worked out perfectly! High kudos to Jesse, he really made our stay perfection!!! Housekeeping staff were also amazing! Stayed three nights and every evening when I came back to the room it had been cleaned to perfection. One day I left a spare pair of shoes sitting on the floor. When I came back they had been placed neatly in the closet for me! It felt like being looked after by my mother again. What a treat! This was our first time at this hotel but I certainly would make it my very first choice any time in the future!!

I appreciate the kind words! Jesse really loves to take care of the guests. He's got a big heart and it shows. The Housekeeping staff take a lot of pride in their work. Our Head Housekeeper has been with us for about 15 years and knows how to keep this place in tip top shape!

Normally I start with positives but there are few, so read til the end. Check in was quick and pleasant, we were offered a choice of first or second floor. We chose 2nd. We got to our small room and realized we have a window to the hallway to look at another window. There's no way to open a window on a 2nd storey room? Jesse the front desk guy told us as Diamond Plus members that there were no other rooms until tomorrow. So we had to go to our room and turn on our tower fan for air circulation. I am assuming a fan in every room in this part of the building? We chose this location for convenience and it is located well(positive), no free breakfast but a discount at the restaurant for $9 bacon and eggs or you can buy from Timmies on site too., not a perk. We choose Best Western for the perks of breakfast. The room is very clean, the hallways are too. The pool is by the lobby, it looks nice. So, I am assuming our room tonite; we are moving to a part of the hotel where the windows open, will be clean, have comfy beds and be stocked with the regular stuff. I am very disappointed Best Western. We stay all the time all over North America. You have let us down. All we were given was a “Sorry you feel that way”. We won't return as Diamond Plus members.

I am sorry you did not enjoy your stay with us. We always try to give some extras to our Best Western Rewards Elite members, but it is not always available. Some of our rooms do not have a window that opens to that outside, but the fan is included for those looking for white noise or a gentle breeze. We do not offer a complimentary breakfast. The $9 breakfast is available to hotel guests only as it is a discount off of the regular price. This is a full made to order breakfast. I am still sorry that you feel the way you do. As you can see by many of our positive reviews we have many guests who absolutely love staying at our property.

My stay here was great. The front desk staff were aamazing and helpful. I would definitely recommend anyone to stay here. The room was clean and comfortable. The location for the reason I was staying there ws so convient that it made the stay so easy.

Pros and Cons 1 night for 3 people Pros: - Amazing cleanness of the room: linens, floor, bathroom; everything impeccable. - Suite with two medium size separated rooms and bathroom between, convenient for family with a grown-up son. - Pool available, restaurant and Tim Horton attached. Cons: - I requested a quiet room and I have gotten unit 201 as a “very quiet room”. On the roof of the room is located a big air handling unit. The unit starts with loud bang and when it runs makes noise like using a power tool inside the room, because the vibration and reverberation. The unit starts every 17 – 20 minutes and run for another 20 minutes. By night the noise was so disturbing making the sleep impossible for all three of us. After one terrible night, complaining about that the front desk clerk said that might be a unit malfunction because usually that unit is very quiet, that nobody with brain can believe. - The bathroom sink partial plugged, filling with water very quickly. - Small bathroom with toilet inside and no working fan. The sink is outside of bathroom in kind of open hallway. - Hotel restaurant offer limited choices of breakfast (two eggs with bacon or sausages, or omelet with the same filling or pancakes) for $9. Average time spent was 50 minutes to order and get the omelets, due to the loose of focusing of the waiter, interested more in my country of origin than the order. Even he repeated for example “water no ice” the water he brought was half of glass ice.

I appreciate your feedback. I am sorry that you did not enjoy your stay. The noise from the rooftop AC unit was definitely excessive. We will be contacting our HVAC contractor about this right away. This was the first complaint we had received regarding the noise in the room. Unfortunately, we don't get to spend much time in the rooms and this had not been brought to our attention before. It needs to be looked at, but it does not typically run that loud. The staff member you spoke with would not have been aware of the situation. I have spoken with the staff that were working the morning of the 21st in the restaurant. Neither of the two people working that day can remember the interaction, but I did mention that sometimes personal conversations with guests can be invasive. They do not remember an interaction where it took 50 minutes to get a breakfast order out. Our restaurant typically runs quite efficiently often getting a full breakfast for a family out in about 10 minutes.

Were in Edmonton for medical reasons. This hotel is conveniently located near my hospital. Requested a room on the ground floor as I had a back injury. We were given a medical price discount, asked for proof but not necessary. All requests were honored. Very happy

Enjoyed the room - bed and washroom. Not a big issue that the breakfast was only a discount not free. Facility was excellent and people friendly and helpful. Wish Best Western did real mugs in the rooms.

I appreciate the response! The reason Best Western switched to disposable instead of ceramic mugs is because of cleanliness. Many thought that the dishware wasn't being washed properly and this negates the issue. If you would prefer a ceramic mug please let us know and we can get one from our restaurant!

Quick check-in and an even quicker check-out made this stay complete. The bed was so comfortable that I slept through a lightenng storm. Did not hear a thing, and I had the window wide open. I would recommend staying on the second floor of the hotel as the first floor seemed to be full of families and people who were walking back and forth to the pool. The second floor was a lot quieter. Great service from staff. Hotel right across from Kingsway Mall so cheap eats are plentiful.

Excellent restaurant, would return just for the dinning experience. Excellent front desk service which started out with a room up graded. I'm handy capped, the front desk could not have been more helpful with ensuring parking was more convenient and my assigned room was easily accessed. I fully recommend a stay and the dinning experience.

My husband and I travelled to Edmonton for a medical appointment. We chose this hotel because of its close proximity to the hospital as well as the adequate reviews. It is nothing fancy but it is very clean and the staff was very friendly and professional. The room was small but it had everything we needed. Due to a concert in the city the hotel was fully booked but the desk clerk was very considerate and put us in a quieter location (room 206) which was greatly appreciated. Breakfast was discounted at Runway 29 Lounge on sight for hotel guests and parking was free. I will review the restaurant separately. If the need arises we would definitely use this hotel again.

We booked this hotel not only for it being best western but due to the location of where we needed to be the following morning. Check in was great. But this is where it began to fail. Disappointed with not having an outside window. The room itself was down a corridor with a window that looked into corridor. Went for a meal at the lounge then back to room to finish a document that needed to be filled out for next morning. No internet connection on any of our "newer" android devices. Front desk did try and help us trouble shoot and did eventually get us connected but only got booted off no later than him closing the door. We were aware of business centre but when you are travelling with a child who is asleep you dont want to leave him in the room. Will not be coming back. Best western you have failed us on this trip.

The place was very clean and comfortable. Rented the Jaccuzzi room and it was nice that robes were provided. Beds were very comfortable and two types of pillows were provided. Soft and firm to make the sleeping experience comfortable.

Room clean, comfortable beds, pillows etc. Rate high for a BW plus without Complimentary breakfast. Disappointed that the front desk said rate is what it is because we fill up on the weekend. No mention of senior rate. I asked why the fluctuation in rates and he said no vacancy on weekend compare to weekdays. I felt like I wasn't an important BW Patron. Been a BW patron for 20+ yrs.

The hotel was clean, staff was friendly, and it was easy to access. Loved the Tim Horton's on site. The pool was small, but fun. The waterslide was pretty good. The beds were comfortable. Location was good for the sporting event we attended.

Every time I stay at this hotel on 109 St. in Edmonton, it's an enjoyable stay. The location is perfect for me as it's right across the street from a mall and a quick drive to my Edmonton office. It's also close to downtown and there's easy access to the rest of the city. The hotel is clean the staff is always very friendly and willing to help you out whether you need another blanket, directions, or even an umbrella. I've stayed at other hotels for conferences for convenience but when I go into the city for any other reason, I always stay at this hotel.

As far as hotels go, they are good. Clean and you get what you pay for. Where they really shine is with customer service. I just stayed at Port O Call in Calgary last night. The manager there was an absolute fkn a-hole. As a new member of BW rewards program, he made me want to cancel the rest of my reservations with BW but Amanda and Jesse from the Edmonton location couldn't have been more opposite of the manager in Calgary. They 150% made me change my mind about the Best Western chain, these guys were SO accomodating and made sure everything with my stay was good. These guys are what customer service examples are made of.

I have stayed at the Port O'Call location in Calgary myself and really enjoyed my stay there. Amanda and Jesse are absolute superstars and are leaders at our property. We were warmly received by the Manager and the front office staff. We found the room to be on the small side, so we asked the Manager to provide us with a larger room which he very willing did. We found the staff, cleaning and front office, to be very welcoming and accommodating. The room had all the amenities and plenty of clean towels. The beds were comfortable and provided with a good night's rest. The hotel had an exercise room and swimming pool. The hotel met our needs and we very much enjoyed our stay. Our only issue was that it would be nice to have some fruit and coffee at the reception.

Thank you very much for your detailed review! I am glad we were able to accommodate you so well. While we don't have fruit and coffee at our reception we do have a Tim Horton's right next to us and our Gift Shop is just off the lobby for some snacks as well!

My family and I have stayed here a few times due to its location. The Kingsway mall is across the street. There is a pool and water slide that my little girl enjoys. It can be a little busy at times, and one complain I would have is the hallway door is not very sound proof. But it has not been to loud after 9:30-10:00.

Reservation could not be found even though we presented a reservation BW confirmation letter for this hotel. It was our family first time together in Edmonton the hotel visit did not start off well but, it ended off better than it started.. When making future reservation i will put in my mind to call that actual hotel prior to insure that we have a reservation their before coming this will help to eliminate the misunderstandings we experience at the beginning @ check-in with the family. We are a frequent BW stayers. Another note this hotel does not serve complimentary breakfast its a paid service break fast that's a bit different from the ones @ Bw we stayed at before. We ended up eating at Timmies next to the hotel

Thank you for your review. I am sorry you had issues on arrival. This is uncharacteristic of our property. We do not serve a continental breakfast, but we do have a discounted breakfast available for our hotel guests. It is a bit different from most hotels, but our is a fresh made to order breakfast that is sure to fill you up!

Older property but room was spotless. The cleaning staff do an excellent job. Located in an older part of Edmonton. The hotel is in need of renovation but I once again cannot say enough about the cleanliness of the property.

This is a nice hotel near the Niat Subway station, Tim Hortons is within the same building. Ample parking is there. Lots of Shopping outlet near by. The rooms are clean, Break fast is Paid, but it's good. Just be a little early, as the breakfast is served on the table.

Speedy check in/out. Nice pool and hot tub. Clean and comfortable room. Quiet. For the location it was quiet overnight, considering it's near a busy street. Plus it was a Saturday night and didn't hear any noise from other rooms. Microwave, fridge and coffee maker all came in handy. Right across from a mall as well.

Webhad a large group staying at this hotel. The staff and service was great. The kids had fun at the pool but dads and moms beware. The slide is fast and speaking from experience, you can soak a lot of spectators/wife if they are not careful where they are standing fully clothed...

I was needing a place to stay close to the hospital and this hotel was recommended to me. They gave me a medical discount on the room rate and were very helpful in acquiring transportation to the hospital. The room was very clean, neat and tidy and loved the fact that there was a full restaurant/lounge attached as well as a Tim Hortons! There is a mall located across the street so if you need a shopping fix it was close All in all this was a very good find!

I was for two night for business and I love best Western because the quality services, but this is not even media class services very dry as one more City services , fast to the point and not time for share. The bed are a bit old look more as motel in the 60's You must to have good money in credit card because they pre-authorized a lot : room and taxes and 250 more for safe deposit ... calculate first

Thank you for the review. Most of our beds have been replaced within the last year. I will double check to ensure we do not have any beds that are passed their prime. Most hotels do authorize for incidentals on top of the cost of the hotel and is a fairly standard practice.

I stayed at this location because of it's location and close to the Alex. I am a BW member so I get points as well. I found out that I had cancer.Through all my many trips and surgery I am cancer free!

That is absolutely fantastic to hear! We are quite close to the hospital and over the years we have seen a lot of guests go through very hard times and come out on top. I love these stories and I wish you all the best with your clean bill of health.

After having to cancel surgery due to adverse weather conditions, the Eye Clinic recommended this hotel for my rebooked laser surgery at 7 am. Upon calling their 800#, SCOTT was OUTSTANDING, he answered all my questions over the phone, following his suggestions my reservation was completed immediately. From Check in to check out my experience was positive. Hotel is not brand new but clean and comfortable. Plug in was available for our -40C temperatures! All staff were genuinely friendly and professional. Close to RCMP K Division HQ, Kingsway Mall (walking distance across street), Royal Alexander Hospital and Roger's Centre. I used room service for pizza one night, as well as the Restaurant/lounge for Breakfast, I found my meal was better than average, staff was friendly, food was tasty. Tim Hortons is attached to hotel, busy location, no drive through. Did not experience noise from traffic or other guests. Definitely recommend this hotel.

Booked a king suite with jacuzzi. Told upon check in at 3:20 that it had been given to someone else. There is no reason for someone's room to be given away within 20 minutes of the earliest possible check in. We had called repeatedly requesting an early check in and had been refused. When we checked the rate for the downgraded room, they wanted to charge us the same as for the original reservation.

I am sorry your stay was a hassle, but I believe you were given some incorrect information. You had booked through a third party and when you asked for an upgrade it did not come through our system. The room you had requested was booked by another guest in advance. Upon check-in I apologized for the error and asked if you would still like the room. I made sure to follow up with the third party company that you booked with that the rate would be reduced. You should see on your account that a reversal for the difference was process this morning. Our hotel does not and never will participate in any kind of "bait and switch". I apologize for the error, but I suggest booking with the hotel directly in the future in order to avoid any mishaps.

Small room but ample space for resting after festival days. Separate room with tub and toilet was different but okay. Had a Tim Horton's in the complex and a restaurant above the Tim's. Mustn't have known that Grey Cup was on as Sunday morning breakfast took almost two hours due to inadequate amount of staff.

Thank you for the review! I hope you enjoyed your time during the Grey Cup festivities. I apologize for the wait on Grey Cup Sunday for breakfast. While we were aware that it was Grey Cup Sunday our restaurant went from empty to full in a matter of minutes and overloaded both our kitchen and serving staff. It was an unfortunate situation.

We located the hotel on Google Maps so we knew where the hotel was located and how to access the driveway. When we arrived in the lobby, two people were behind the counter each assisting a guest checking in. Our turn came and we indicated we had a reservation and provided our name. Douglas found our reservation and indicated he had a room with two queen beds as requested. He then asked for a driver's licence and a credit card and we indicated we would not be charging incidentals (we never do) and thus he did not need it. We also indicated that we have never required it when we have stayed at other Best Western properties. He then indicated he was going in the back to take a photocopy of the driver's license. I indicated I would not give permission to do so and he replied that it was policy and without it he could not allow us to check in. I then asked to speak with the manager to which he replied “You are. I am the manager”. We then noticed his name tag read “Douglas MANAGEMENT”. We commented that “management” was a strange last name and made a joke that perhaps his parents knew he was bound for higher places. He did not laugh. We discussed the legal purpose of a “Driver's Licence” and the idea of using it to verify who someone is and he indicated that, rather than argue with us, he would allow us to check in without taking a copy. He then gave us room cards and we asked where the room was. He directed us around the Tim's, across the parking lot and indicated which doors to use to enter the “hotel”. We then indicated that because of our elite status, we are normally offered a free welcome gift or points and we take the points. He then looked at the file again and indicated it did indicate we have achieved Diamond status and we are entitled to either so we again accepted the points. I then indicated that the program says that room upgrades are available at some properties and that, while some people consider a king bed to be an upgrade, we do not. I added that some properties consider corner rooms to be an upgrade or rooms away from the elevator, or some suites. I asked if the property had junior suites or suites and Douglas replied that they do not have junior suites but do offer suites and “divided rooms”. We waited for him to offer an upgrade (as is supposed to happen at Diamond level) but he did not. We left the lobby, got in our car and drove in the direction provided. I was shocked to learn that the Best Western Plus City Center Inn is actually a MOTEL attached to which someone built an outside hallway so all the rooms have the ability to walk to the lobby protected from the elements. We have stayed in motels before however, it never dawned on me that the Best Western Hotel chain would accept motels into their brand. Perhaps they should create this as another option. Obviously the “Plus” means nothing to the chain as this was the WORST PROPERTY we have ever stayed in. A door requiring a room key to enter protected the entrance into the hallway. Our room was located directly across from the entrance, something we did not immediately recognize the significance of. When we entered the room we were immediately greeted with the linger odour of cigarette smoke. We called the front desk to let them know and were told that it had been many years since it had been a smoking room. Most hotels today have a no-smoking policy and charge guests for extra cleaning if they decide to violate that policy. We had presumed that this had recently occurred in the room however, that concept fell on deaf ears. We looked around the room and realized it was probably the smallest room we had ever been assigned and found countless long hairs on the walls and counters as well as areas of “some kind of filth” on the walls, counters, and light switches so we spent about a half hour cleaning. The décor and lighting (or lack of) made the room seem incredibly dismal. We wondered if the lack of lighting ad décor contributed to the poor cleaning. Perhaps some of the other rooms have better lighting thus warranting the positive reviews by other guests. We also recognized that the room “window” looked out into the hallway and that everyone walking by would have a clear view into the room. We shut the drape thinking that would solve that particular problem. We suddenly realized that Douglas had not let us know where the free breakfast was so we called the front desk, only to be told that they do not offer one at this property. The girl explained that, all they are required to do is have one available and that, not only does Tim's have food available 24 hours, the restaurant above Tim's opens early for breakfast. We explained that the Best Western site does indicate that free breakfast is included however it is up to the owner to provide it and she replied that this owner “has never provided a free breakfast”. We realized that we had never read reviews of the property so we did so then. Most of those who loved the place did so because of its location. Others loved the idea that there was a Tim Horton's donut shop attached to the building. Some were upset by the people lingering (because of the donut shop) while others were upset by the parking situation (again partially because of the donut shop). Some were surprised to find a Motel instead of a Hotel and we learned that the property was originally classified as a Motel and that it was one of the first properties in Canada to join the Best Western brand. Some commented how wonderful their experience was when they checked in however, we would definitely contest that experience. Some actually commented on the lack of free breakfast and the discount voucher program that the hotel used instead (at no point was this offered to us either). Some people with children appreciated to pool and water slide. While we did not visit the on site restaurant, we were shocked to read that children are not allowed in the restaurant especially since it part of the Best Western Plus mandated requirements. Most people indicated they loved the proximity to the Mall and the hospital and incredibly for some unknown reason, there are only four hotels in the area. We also recognized that the photos in the reviews (and website) depicted renovated rooms with deluxe bathroom amenities however, our room did not even remotely look like those depicted. We settled into the room and immediately began hearing voices in the hall and doors were slamming. We continued checking to see what the noises were and realized that every time a person entered the building, the outside door slammed and each time one of them entered the first floor, the inside door slammed. Since they were simply walking to their room, they did not recognize that their voices transmitted into each of the rooms along the hallway. We also recognized a gap under the door which was about 1.5 inches wide and a gap of at least .5 inches along the side of the door. The additional significance of the gaps would become apparent later in the night. We also noticed that a double light switch outside the bathroom “anti-room” was where one had to turn on the light for the toilet instead of having one for the anti-room and one for the toilet. I cannot count how often one of us walked in to go to the bathroom only to have to turn around and return to the switches. This was a clear example of inconvenient planning at its finest. The anti-room was also the location of the refrigerator, microwave, and coffee machine all of which were present however someone with a bit more knowledge should have been consulted regarding their layout. We watched a bit of television and went to bed. We did enjoy the fact they had big thick pillows for watching television. During the night we were awoken several times by the noise and, upon opening our eyes, realized how bright the room was. It seems that the light from the hallway leaks into the room through the cracks (under and along side the door) and under the “window” drape. There was no way to resolve that at the time so we did our best to try to sleep. There were noises throughout the night (presumable from the heating system) as well as loud banging style noises which we never identified. In the early morning our neighbour began talking to someone and it sounded like he was in the same room as us. The resumption of the slamming doors convinced us to simply check out early. For many reasons, checking out was infinitely more pleasurable than checking in. First and foremost, we were relieved to be leaving this horrible experience behind us. Equally importantly was the care and service provided by Trevor who was manning the front desk. When we expressed a couple of our concerns, he apologetically indicated that Douglas was the manager so any complaints would be directed to him. His words and attitude did make up for some of the lacking of the MOTEL property and did let us know that at least some of the people employed by the hotel actually understood how to provide customer service. On the plus side of the equation, the renovated bathroom does have a nice modern toilet and the automated system did provide a wake up call at the time requested (regardless of the fact that our neighbour had already taken care of that). Additionally, the security provided by the card access to the building did provide a small semblance of additional security. For anyone needing to shop at the Kingsway Mall, attend a function at NAIT, or need to be at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, this MOTEL does offer closer proximity to those than the Chateau Lois, the Nova Suites, or the Edmonton Inn & Conference Center (formerly the Ramada). It is also only a block away from the RCMP K Division in case one needs their assistance. It was also close to the location of the Edmonton Indy race however, that event was cancelled after the 2012 race.

Hello Jonathan, I am aware that when you checked in you experienced some issues, and yours was not an experience typical of our guests. We take the photocopy of the driver's license when we have a booking that is being paid by a third party to protect the third party who is paying for the room. It is my understanding that in this case after speaking with you, Douglas chose to waive photocopying your driver's license because you felt uncomfortable with it. This is in line with industry standards. Our hotel was 100% when you stayed. We do offer room upgrades subject to availability. The only other room type that we could offer was a king room. If it was not as busy of a night, we would have been happy to accommodate you in a different room type. Your bonus rewards points were applied to your account as a Diamond member. If you notice an issue with the points not being on your balance, please contact us to resolve the matter. We are a 100% smoke free property and have been for many years. We take that policy seriously. Guests who violate that policy are charged a cleaning fee. All surfaces in the room are thoroughly cleaned and the carpets are shampooed. The room is then not rented out while deodorizing. We have not had any incidents of that room being smoked in recently. I am shocked to hear the issues that you mentioned about the cleanliness of the room. We take cleanliness seriously. I apologize. What happened in your room is completely uncharacteristic of our hotel and that housekeeper. I brought it up with the housekeepers for that section, and our executive housekeeper, and we inspected the room that you stayed in, and the other rooms in the section that they regularly clean, and found them to be spotless. I found no hairs in the other rooms and the walls, counters, and light switches were all clean. There was nothing extra that we could wipe off around them. Regarding the decor, lighting, and size of the room, we will be upgrading all of the first floor rooms in that section next spring and summer. Every surface in the bedroom will be changed. We are adding more/upgraded lighting, exciting and comfortable decor, and a redesign of the layout of the room that will give the guests more space and comfort. We will also be replacing the drapery with a design that will more effectively block more of the light. I apologize for any noise that penetrated the room. Our building is all concrete construction. There are no hotels with better soundproofing than ours. We used to have an airport next door, so we built the hotel to withstand serious noise. The person next to you must have been very loud to affect your sleep. Sorry, I know how frustrating it can be to be woken up. I measured the door gaps, and the bottom is a standard 3/4" gap, and the sides are 1/8". We cannot have less than a 1/8" gap at the sides because without that, the door would not open or close. The door sweep on the bottom of the door is a brush style. Because of your complaint, I had our maintenance staff today replace it with a thick rubber door sweep that should help to eliminate some of the hallway noise. In our experience, because we have a full service restaurant, our overall customer base has preferred to have a fresh, made to order breakfast with high quality ingredients. We have scored much higher on breakfast satisfaction surveys than the Best Westerns that offer an included continental breakfast. However, we will take your suggestion of an included breakfast into consideration. In the past, we had a liquor licensing issue that would not allow us to have minors upstairs after breakfast. However, the liquor control agency has changed some of their rules and since August we have allowed minors in our restaurant for all hours of operation. I am happy to hear that Trevor provided you a good check out. Despite the other issues that you mentioned, I appreciate that you took the time to give him praise. I will pass this on to him.

Room are nice and clean, great friendly staff, and it even has a Timmies attached :) Restaurant upstairs is okay, but close to lots of amenities. Front desk staff extremely helpful and courteous. Have never had a bad stay here. Kudos to their staff.

Decided to stay here as it was close to a family event. Checking in was quick and efficient. They informed me about the breakfast special and other hotel amenities. Room was clean and the staff friendly. Parking was a bit tough with the Tim Horton. Overall for a budget hotel it was ok.

Thank you for your review! I'd like to see more from our guests that it was "OK". I will take this as a teaching point with the staff on how we can make our guest experience better!

This is a wonderful hotel in a great area - close to downtown and shopping - I rated almost all my responses 9's or 10's. (or 4's & 5's on this survey) But there is a pet peeve - Instead of a continental breakfast - you get a discount of $4.00 towards a prearranged selection of individual prepared breakfasts. However these breakfasts have a relatively high price so you are still contributing over $10 for your breakfast that amounts to two eggs - three strips of bulk bacon - coffee - and hash browns. If you are feeling particularly well healed the next morning - they will agree to bring toast to your table - for an additional $1. I don't know why this bothers me so much .... but it does. Again.... it is a small gap in an otherwise excellent establishment - but so easy to fix the optics. Do the owners realize the last impression I have of their establishment is paying a $1 for toast????

Thank you for your review. Our breakfast is usually highly rated by our guests. I get that it seems a little silly we are charging an extra dollar for toast, but we found most of our guests were just throwing it out. We then gave our guests the choice of either hash browns or toast and $1 extra if you wanted both.

Everything was excellent, especially the quietness of the place and the proximity to the mall and having a Tim Horton in the hotel was a bonus. especially enjoyed the swimming pool. Quiet area of the city and close to medical facilities.

This Best Western seems to be newly renovated and the new layout works great. Our room was actually 2 bedrooms with the bathroom in between. The building itself was very full both nights we stayed there but we didn't hear a thing from any other room. The staff was super friendly and very helpful. Our favourite was Nini, she is a jewel who will make you feel totally at home.

Liked the room staff were helpful and woul stay again . They went out of their way to give directions and order a cab to go to the concert . Then when were leaving they gave good directions to leave the city as we are from out of province.

The staff are super courteous, patient and literally care about your comfort and stay here at the City Centre location, which comes highly recommended by the Kaus ladies from Barrhead, Alberta. The pool is the best amenity with a super fast slide that open early, closed late, and is a clean well maintained area FUN FUN FUN for the fans of aquatic leisure!!! Stay here if you come to Edmonton and require accomadation, especially if you are looking to shop popular trending retail stores!! Kingsway Garden Mall is directly across the street which just so happens to be the best shopping mall for miles around, beats WEM hands down. Centrally located, close to transit, dining, shopping, medical and the Aviation museum stay Best Western City Centre and make it your fave place to be for pleasure, business or a small little get away. Us girls are looking at approximately 50+ stays over the years!!

Thank you for your review! I also appreciate your executive giving their honest opinions of the hotel. The Tim Horton's that is attached does have quite a bit of traffic going through, but both our staff and theirs work together to ensure this property is safe.

This hotel is a great location right across the road from Kingsway Mall. The staff was wonderful, quick express checkout and very clean. The pool area is nice with a hot tub and waterslide. There is a restaurant on site with a great breakfast deal and also a Tim Horton's in the hotel. Room was a bit small, but comfortable and clean. We found it a bit loud, especially when kids are yelling and running down the halls. You can hear quite a bit through the walls.

This hotel is no. 1 in my books, with the service, the room(s), the jacuzzi/hot tub and pool and most of all, the rewards you can collect after wards. A hotel for children and parents alike. Something for adults with casino slots in the restaurant, if you like slots, and the food is excellent, and across the hotel is a mall, Kingsway Mall. I would recommend this hotel for any type of stay.

We stayed for 1 night at this hotel to attend an event. We booked through Airmiles and had no issues at check-in. Quiet, clean and across from the Kingsway Mall. Tim Hortons on site was helpful, although it would have been nice to have a breakfast, as that is what we are accustomed to at Best Western Pluses. Would stay here again if ever in the neighbourhood Staff was friendly and the beds were super comfortable with a fridge, microwave, coffee and 2 different pillow options. Unfortunately didn't get a chance to check out the pool and hot tub.

Thank you for the review! Our rates may seem a little higher, but it's like you said it is all about location. We are conveniently located to many great amenities in the city and have easy access to pretty much everything else.

I have stayed here many times over the years and have never had a bad stay. The staff are fantastically friendly and helpful. If you are staying because of the nearby hospital, they are extremely compassionate. I have stayed here for many reasons, hospital trips, business, courses at NAIT, and personal. It fits all criteria for all stays. EAT AT THE LOUNGE! Runway 39 has some of the best hotel food I have had. Every time I stay and eat here, I get something different and I have yet to get a meal that I don't like. The only downside for some people is that there is no family restaurant here so no kids. Good for me, as I don't have any. They also have a Tim Horton's in the hotel if you are into that. This hotel is also right across the street from Kingsway Mall. It is a fantastic shopping center with all the mall stores that you expect.

You wouldn't think so from looking at it but the waterslide is one of the best hotel waterslides. Great place for families to stay - I am glad we chose to spend the extra to get the pool and waterslide. Rooms were clean - its a typical Best Western.

Thank you for the review! The water slide is incredibly fast and guests of all ages seem to love it.

I stayed here for a week in preparation for my move to Edmonton. First all the good points: The hotel is IMPECCABLY clean, both in the rooms and common areas. The cleaning staff do an excellent job and clearly take pride in their jobs. My room was nicely furnished, with a great TV and the bed was super comfortable. Nice shower as well, and bathroom quite roomy. The pool is FANTASTIC - perfect temp, not too hot, not too cold, and a good size (I find some hotel pools are slightly larger than a bathtub, but this one is great!). It also has a beautiful hot tub, ample seating for people watching kids, and a super fun waterslide (beware, it is fun but FAST!). Really, I only have two negatives, and that is mostly about the location. The first few days I was there, I found that there were groups of people just hanging out in the parking lot which made me a little leery at times. Also, the section I was in for rooms was rather oddly set up - there is a secure entry corridor that runs along all the rooms, so if your curtains are open anyone in the parking lot can see in (if you are ground floor), as well as anyone walking by. That made me feel a bit uncomfortable, but I did always feel safe. Also, I wish the curtains would go to the floor, because the light does spill in from them. Besides that, it is a well managed, well staffed hotel. Great staff, great rates, super clean and comfy.

As for your negative points sometimes we will have Tim Horton's patrons in our parking lot. If you ever feel like there's a group who shouldn't be here just call the front desk and we can go investigate! I understand your points about the room set up as well. Next year we are planning to do a big renovation in those rooms to really make them stand out!

We booked last minute and had a great stay. The rooms are nice and clean. The hotel is a fair size but not overwhelming. We never had a chance to use it, but the pool looks great! They also have life jackets for the kids which is awesome. The front desk staff was the best, super accommodating and friendly. I believe it was Jesse who checked us in (sorry if that's the wrong name). He was so friendly and made the check in process a breeze for this exhausted mama. Highly recommend!

Spent the night at the Best Western and while the rooms were pretty average (comfortable beds but bathroom set up a bit awkward), the main draw was the location. There was a Tim Horton's on site for an affordable breakfast, Kingsway Mall across the street with all the store of West Edmonton Mall but 1/3 the people, and it was a short drive to City Centre for Movies and the Rogers Centre where we saw the figure skating. There was also a pool which our kids enjoyed. Price was fair considering the location and we would definitely stay there again in the future.

We have stayed here a few times because of the amenities. There is a Tim Hortons on site. The pool is small but there is a waterslide and a hot tub to enjoy. It is located across the street from Kingsway Mall which has a huge Forever 21 and a new Marshalls is opening.

This is my first time here. Fast and no hassles on getting g a room on the ground floor for myself and client .easy check in as it was already paid for.. lots of easy shopping places to go to. Loved the fact there was a Tim hortons right next door. Recommend anyone come stay here

Really not a lot to say about the hotel itself. It was close to where I needed to be to attend a course. I arrived into the city fairly late, so really, I was only in the room for a few hours. Checking in was easy, the rooms are well appointed and the express check out made life quite uncomplicated. Never utilized any of the facilities/amenities due to my very late check in. This would certainly be a good place to stay if attending a game at Rogers Centre or Commonwealth Stadium --- and the NAIT LRT Station is all of about 5 minutes walking away.

Thank you for your review. I am happy to hear that you had a good stay. I would like you to know that you can get take-out from the lounge for dine-in prices for no extra charge anytime between 7am-11:30pm.

We stayed here for one night during a trip to Edmonton (2 kids 2 adults). I always try to stay at Best Western simply because I have good luck at these hotels with cleanliness, location, amenities etc. This hotel did not disappoint. Bonus... Tim Horton's is attached! Check-in was smooth, the hotel was very clean and smelled clean as well. The rooms are well laid out. I love that the sink is separate from the bathroom, in the same area as the fridge/microwave area which is separate from the bed area. Like a small kitchenette without the kitchenette room prices. The pool/water slide/hot tub gave the whole family something to do and the hours are GREAT (7am to 11pm). The beds we found very comfortable and the pillow selection was perfect for all our different needs. There is ample parking and each zone has it's own entry / parking area. We really enjoyed this hotel and would definitely stay again on our next trip to Edmonton.

Terrible, terrible terrible! Haven't even stayed the night yet and I want to leave. The doors are paper thin. We are in an adjoining room and have had to put my child in the back room furthest away from the door to the hallway for her to have any chance of sleeping. Called the front desk to move and of course there are no other rooms available. Save your money and go elsewhere. It reminds me of a cheap Super 8 motel or even worse.

I apologize that you had an uncomfortable night. Our walls in the hotel are sand filled concrete, our floors and ceilings are concrete, and our doors are solid core fire rated doors. They are the most soundproof room enclosures available. Still, staying at a hotel is not the same as staying at home and I understand that unfamiliar noises can be difficult for children to deal with when sleeping in surroundings that they are not used to.

Came here for a water polo tournament, staff was very helpful and accommodating. The kids enjoyed the pool and the location was perfect for our team. Rooms were great for families and the Tim Horton's in the hotel was awesome to have for those early games.

Spent the night at the Best Western Plus City Centre Inn, and had a great stay. Checked in, Staff was wonderful, I asked for a ground floor due to disabilities and my request was honoured with no problem. Room was perfect, bed was so comfortable, slept well. Ate at the restaurant Runway 29, and the food was delicious. Can't wait to go back!

My son booked well in advance (speaking directly to the hotel) to reserve three rooms in a row, as his 4 year old autistic daughter was staying in a hotel for the first time. The plan was to have his room in the middle, so that if she had a loud meltdown, there would be relatives on both sides, so that other guests would not be disturbed. When we arrived, this request had not been implemented. Eventually, the staff found 2 rooms side by side, so we moved to those two rooms. Not ideal. The Runway only allows children until 10 a.m....Very inconvenient. Food mediocre.Service good.Sketchy looking people hanging around parking lot in the evening. Will not stay here again.

Thank you for your review. I apologize for your stay. The staff try to meet every request to the best of their ability. Your stay was on a busy weekend which made it more of a challenge. This should have been avoided and I will be talking with the staff about better guest service. Some properly written notes and comments on the reservation would have made all the difference. The Runway 29 Lounge is open at 7:00 am and serves minors until around 9:30 am. This is not by choice. This is a law from the AGLC. We do offer a lot of options for our guests though. Food is available via room service or we can do takeout. If you would like to sit together and eat as a family we have a large community table here in our lobby that would do the trick.

Very clean, check in and checkout was fast friendly and helpful. Bed was very comfortable with plenty of blankets and pillows. These are often lacking in many hotels-motels. When the clerk noticed my wife using a cane he switched our reservation to the ground floor. Very courteous.

Thank you for your review. The staff try and make everyone's stay more comfortable. We do have an elevator for guests that need it, but if available it is always easier to move someone to a room that better suits their needs.

The staff was ok, but inconsistent. Rooms were very clean however I had to travelled for business over the weekend. As there is a pub attached the patrons ended up in the hotel. Got woken up at 3:30am by loud guests. Front desk didn't seem to bother with them. Won't stay again.

The patrons who woke you up wouldn't have been from out hotel as our Runway 29 Lounge does last call around 11 pm and is closed by midnight. This is to try and prevent situations like yours where you were woken up by unruly guests. We try to keep noise levels at a minimum, but every once in awhile someone will slip by. We are not a party hotel nor are we in the business of waking up our guests who pay a good rate to get some sleep with us. I will pass along your message to our night staff.

I came to the Best Western because I was very disgruntled with the Fantast Land Hotel. The staff was great. The room was quiet and the pool was open really late for my kids! The room the first night was quite expensive considering I came in the middle of the night. But other than that, everything was perfect.

Always find this BW clean and very friendly helpful staff. Runway 29 restaurant upstairs serves up pretty good fare and is available for express breakfasts for hotel guests at a reduced price. Manager(s) of this property are friendly helpful and welcoming as are their folks working there.

This was conveniently located to downtown and Kingsway Mall. The pool, waterslide and hot tub were great. Would have been good to have a warm continental breakfast for the price of the hotel - as most hotel have this included for the price we paid. Staff were great. Has large, long hallways with a very small elevator, which was kinda scary to get into in terms of sounds and size. You may need to be able to walk with your luggage down long hallway to get to your room. Our room needed some upgrading in terms of furniture but bathroom was redone.Overall, for convenience, was a good stay!

The elevator for the rooms is a little older, but is very well looked after and we would not be using it if it was not 100% safe. We are a Best Western member, and have stayed here numerous times - -staff is always friendly, great location; close to shopping and down town. The Runway Pub upstairs is. Wet comfortable and a great place to enjoy some downtime. Very comfy beds! Definitely recommend.

The first time I stayed here was for important surgery. This is the closest hotel to the Royal Alex hotel, and the staff made every effort to make that stay and every stay since then as easy as possible for my husband and I. The hotel is central to all of my hospital and doctor appointments, and offers a medical rate on request. The hotel has been very accommodating of my now limited mobility. My husband takes advantage of the workout facilities whenever possible. The convenience of being across the street from the Kingsway Mall has been wonderful for everything from filling prescriptions to Christmas shopping. The staff is always amazing and the rooms are comfortable and clean.

Thank you for your kind review. We see a number of people come in for medical appointments. Most of our staff have been through those situations whether it was themselves or a family member and they know the feeling. It doesn't take much to comfort or take care of someone, but it can make all the difference in the world. I am glad that we have been able to make that difference for you.

The general manager should have consulted me before billing me for "smoking" in the room...I am a non-smoker. There is a smoking area below my room, outside. That would have been the source of the stench, as my window was cracked open a little over night because of how stuffy the place was..

I thought this place would be a good choice to take my daughter because of the pool and the water slide. It was not a good choice at all. Firstly the front desk of the hotel advised me that minors are not permitted in the restaurant but that I could order room service for my starving child who just traveled many miles for a medical appointment. I thought it strange that a hotel restaurant would be off limits to families but room service will do. I don't particularly like the smell of food in a hotel room but the child needs to eat. We got settled and I called the restaurant extension only to get a busy signal. I was unable to get through for almost 10 minutes and then a lady answered the phone and immediately asked if I would hold on a minute. She set the phone down and walked away. I could here people coming and going so I waited and waited and waited. After 10 minutes I hung up and called back. Surprise, surprise, the phone was busy. That phone was busy for a half an hour. Long enough for me to pack up my daughter and go in search of food and get back to our room. When I finally got through the woman who answered the phone thought the whole thing was rather funny. I don't. The front desk of the hotel didn't answer the phone either of the 3 times I called for assistance. The room is tiny and the coffee maker and fridge are in the bathroom. We have a window in our room looking into a hallway and I can hear everything from the rooms around me. Don't waist your time with this place. There are much better places in Edmonton to spend your money.

Clean and comfortable with a great little pool, hot tub and spiral water slide. Good place to take the family. Mall across the road. Walking distance to the wedding reception we were attending. Not really downtown, as its name may imply, but you could see downtown from there.

The room was too hot and we could not cool it. Nobody got a nights rest. There was an AC fan but it was noisy and did not cool. The thermometer on my alarm clock was maxed. It was quiet. There was a water line break somewhere and the restaurant was closed. The plugins outside worked though the parking stalls are not big enough for a pickup truck. The staff was polite and the room was clean. It's close to the Royal Alex Hospital. Don't buy KFC from the location at 100 Ave and 178 street. I can not say anything polite about the food or service.

Thank you for your response. I am very sorry you did not get a good night's rest. We have heard you loud and clear and will be making some changes on how we cool our rooms in the winter. I invite you to come back and give us another shot as I know we can do better than be a 3/5 Hotel.

Our family had a wedding on New Years Eve so we all booked in to Best Western City Center. It was a great experience all around. Super location, right across from a big shopping centre, great access to Jasper Avenue and the entire downtown area. Room was clean and comfortable, beds and pillows were like sleeping on a cloud! All staff were very friendly and helpful! This will be our “go to” Edmonton hotel from here on in!

Theroom was quiet, and the pool was warm, the hot pool was refreshing. The food in the restaurant, Runway 29, was excellent but being a senior I found the portions very large , so much so that I could finish neither supper nor breakfast.

Thank you for your review. The pool is a great way to relax after a long day! The portions are large up there, but we always have a doggy bag if you need one. There are also fridges and microwaves in the room to eat the leftovers!

My wife had to have surgery at Royal Alexandra Hospital, which is just around the corner. We also made sure we had a day to do some Christmas shopping at the Kingsway Mall. The shopping mall is great. There are a few good restaurants close by, Tim Hortons is right attached to the hotel. The rooms are in great shape but a bit small. There is no continental breakfast at this hotel, which is too bad, but Tims and Runway 29 are attached.

Stayed for medical appointments and the staff is always friendly, efficient and quick to offer assistance! Love this hotel for location and convenience!!! It is across the road from Kingsway Mall, has Tim Hortons in it and hospitals close by!

The hotel itself is alright. Nothing too exciting other then the Tim Hortons and the fact that it is across the street from Kingsway mall. We stayed in the long wing across from the lobby and were put right beside the stairs and you could hear everyone's conversations and doors slamming who used the staircase. The rooms are a little dated, with old baseboard heaters (which appear not to work, and are just left over from back in the day). Our thermostat did nothing and the room stayed at a 16-17 degrees no matter what we adjusted it to. The beds were comfortable, good tv selection.

Thank you for your review. It sounds like you were being a little generous when you gave us a 4/5! The heaters should definitely work in the room. I will have to have maintenance look in on it. Things are definitely getting a bit dated on that side of the hotel. 2018 will see lots of rejuvenation and updates that I am sure our guests will love!

Great location being across from Kingsway mall and next to Kingsway BLVD. Easy access to shopping and hospitals. Tim Hortons on site as well as a Restaurant upstairs. Downside is there is no free breakfast like at other BW locations. There is a pool, hot tub and waterslide. My bed was a bit hard, and the decor a little outdated but not bad.

Thank you for your review. The location is really top notch and makes it easy for our guests to make their way around town. Our breakfast isn't included like at some other hotels, but we do offer a substantial discount for hotel guests. This is also a made to order full breakfast. I will check in on the bed, but we have put in brand new pillow top mattresses this year! As for the decor this will be next on our list to keep this property moving forward.

Have stayed at this hotel many times over the years and have never been disappointed. Friendly professional staff, clean comfortable rooms and very reasonably priced. Lots of parking and a Tim Hortons on site!

We travel to Edmonton at least 6 times a year and we always stay at the Best Western City Centre. The kids like the pool. The Kingsway Mall is just across the street for my wife to shop, and the kids to have a variety of food. The staff are always friendly and willing to help.

Express breakfast excellent value. Eggs to perfection, with qualtiy bread used for toast. Fresh fruit on the plate was of the highest and tastiest quality. Service was amazing by the staff. Thankful for the elevator to the second floor restaurant awaiting hip replacement.

I have had several stays at this hotel to have treatment at the local hospital , is very convenient. the staff are very helpful and is less that 10.00 for cab ride to hospital. the room service is a bit limited and pricey with too exotic a menu. other than that everything was great.

Thank you for your review! A lot of our guests are staying with us for medical purposes. I am glad we can be comforting when you have these appointments. The Runway 29 Lounge offers our Room Service. While they do have a number of new and exciting dishes they do offer the old standbys as well! Pub standards like pizza, burgers and fish and chips are always on the menu for our guest looking for their favourites.

For the amenities and the location this is well worth the price. The Staff were friendly and it was a bonus having a Tim Hortons, and a full service restaurant as well. The location close to the Expo Center and across from a Nice mall helped too.

Very professional staff and clean accomidations. It is close to shopping and also has a Tim Horton's attached for easy convenience, which is open 24 hrs. Kingsway Garden Mall is walking distance! I highly reccomend staying at The Best Western City Centre!

Thank you for your response. I have been looking into this issue and have not found any double billing. All of our records indicate that you were only charged the one night. We had contacted you about sending us the record of the double billing, but we have yet to hear back from you. I am hoping this means the issue was resolved and was either a misunderstanding or a bank error.

The hotel met all of my requirements... it was clean, quiet and the amenities were all close. The internet was free and speedy and the coffee and tea was in-room. Could have used bottled water, but that's a minor item.

Rooms have been beautifully renovated and are sufficiently supplied with bar fridge, microwave, coffee maker and supplies, iron, ironing board, and even a stand alone fan. Halls were added to this once upon a time motel, now hotel, that allow for interior access to the pool, restaurant and lobby without having to brave Edmonton winter weather to do so. Oh so quiet now that the city centre airport adjacent to the hotel is no longer operating as such.

Thank you for your review. Yes, we have done a plethora of changes to this hotel! The owners realized that to keep guests happy you have to modernize and have made the necessary renovations in order to keep up with the times.

Good location, friendly, helpful staff. Good rooms, comfortable beds, clean. Restaurant on site was lacking and not much within walking distance, Moxies about a 10 minute walk. Nice to have coffee shop connected to hotel for quick exit next morning.

We went to attend a curling event at Avonair arena and everything we needed was within walking distance. Room was clean and the front desk was very helpful.Kingsway mall was across the street and lots of nearby restaurants.

Nice hotel with a pool, waterslide, exercise room, lounge and restaurant. Like I said, great location! Walking distance to a good mall, LRT, and other community amenities. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the rooms were clean. My only real complaint was the air circulation in my room wasn't good- the window looked to a corridor, not outside, and the a/c fan ran constantly but still the room was stuffy.

The best western city centre inn is located across from Kingsway mall, great for upcoming Christmas shopping. It's a quick 5 min cab to Rogers place. The lounge has great food and can't beat their $9 breakfast. And for those who need Tim Horton is attached to the hotel. Staff members are always friendly and accommodating here. For those with wheelchairs you'll be able to get thru the doors!

The front desk attendant was super accommodating when I had to change our reservation at the last minute, then change it again. When I mentioned that the stay was due to a medical situation, he applied the "hospital rate" which we greatly appreciated. The hotel is very conveniently located for our needs, is clean and comfortable. We will definitely stay there again.

great stay/service without breaking the bank. close to downtown. clean....beds are comfy, quiet, large flat screen TV's friendly staff. there is a lounge and tim Horton's attached and located near a shopping mall. I would recommend staying here.

Stayed at this hotel to attend a concert at the coliseum. Easy to get there from the hotel. Kingsway malll right across the street. Breakfast was not included but available in the in-house restaurant -$9 for the Express breakfast, which was fast and very good. 3 options include eggs,omelettes, or pancakes with sides and a beverage.Doubles as a lounge in the evening. Went there for a glass of wine and appy after the concert. Room was well laid out, quiet and comfy!

This hotel is conveniently across the street from the Kingway Mall, and nice and close if you're attending a concert at Rogers Place. This hotel was very clean and roomy and included a white noise fan for better sleep.

Staff was excellent, friendly and accommodating. Room was clean and comfortable. There is not a breakfast provided but there is a 24 hr. Tim Horton on sight and a very good restaurant as well, where breakfast is provided at a reduced price for hotel guests. Overall - enjoyable stay.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The location is very good for appointments at the Royal Alex hospital. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. I will stay there again the next time we have a medical appointment at the Royal Alex.

I was offered a 'suite' for $186.00/night...the only difference in a suite was that the bathroom was in-between the two queen beds...the room was small and the beds were really stiff. The room appeared clean but when I was packing our stuff up to leave (after 3 nights) I found an empty water bottle tucked under the lip of the bed...we didn't have water bottles in the room. If the floor had been vacuumed they would have found it. I could hear people in the hallways all hours of the night and I could also hear them getting ice from the ice machine. The employees were very nice and helpful and check in and check out were pleasant. They were obviously doing some renovations as there was a lot of painting a paint smell going on.

Enjoyed our stay here for 2 nights, check in was quick. Walking distance to the LRT at NAIT and across the street from the Kingsway Mall. Hotel parking was also free. Hotel has 2 floors. Stayed in the 1 Queen Bed room. Room was clean and updated. Had a large flat screen tv and mini fridge. Coffee machine in room. We did find the room a little small compared to some other hotels we have stayed in, so if you are looking for more space you may want to upgrade to one of the other rooms they have. We also appreciated the late check out. The only small issue we found was the noise from the water pipes we could hear from other guests. Ate at Restaurant 29 one evening, very good service and food was pretty good. Tim Hortons also attached to hotel.

The staff makes up for the outdated room and the walk across the parking lot to get to your room. The rate is average with any other location. The staff in the lounge and hotel were very professional. I'd give service a 10 out of 10. The location is prime being close to downtown and across the mall.

Chose this hotel for it's proximity to the medical services nearby. It wasn't fancy, but it was quiet, clean and very comfortable. The restaurant upstairs(Runway 29) was excellent and the hotel discounted the breakfast. Check in and check out were quick and efficient.

Nice room and we appreciated the larger tv. We had access to Tim Hortons in the same building so our morning coffee was great! The cleaning staff were very accommodating when we needed something. Looking forward to our next visit.

My overall stay at Edmonton's Best Western Plus was very good. Room was comfy and well appointed. Great wifi! Restaurant food was good and both the restaurant and bar staff were great. The only turn off was upon check in, when the two people on the front desk seemed less concerned about being present with me and doing an efficient check-in and instead were more involved with their own conversation about nothing urgent or particularly important. Their service and presence could be improved.

This was more expensive than other hotels I have stayed in at nearby places in the city--good location, it was near the hospital where I was going for a procedure the next day. the room was fairly easy to find. the keys worked good we did not use the coffee or stuff because I was not allowed food or drink at that time My sister and I have done trips together before at other hotels in the city and enjoyed the experience, this time my son drove me and stayed with me.

A very pleasant, well situated hotel close to a major shopping centre, a variety of restaurants and major government buildings. Very handy for both business and pleasure., I would definitely recommend this hotel to both business travellers and people wishing to explore the City of Edmonton.

We had never stayed at this hotel before but this time we were looking for a hotel close to the Royal Alex hospital. This hotel is quite close to the hospital (only about a 5 minute drive away). The hotel has been totally renovated from top to bottom. We would not hesitate to recommend the hotel to anyone.

Went to the Metallica concert and found this hotel worked perfectly. Able to leave car parked at hotel and walked to the Kingsway Mall for the Park & Ride service to Commonwealth. From what we saw of the hotel, it was clean and quiet. Upstairs lounge even stayed open later than normal because of the concert, however, the grill was off so we couldn't fulfill our appetite there after the concert. Onsite Tim Horton's if you just need that coffee. Definitely stay here again for Commonwealth event.

I stay about 90 nights a year in hotels with Best Western accounting for about a third if they are available. This is one of the best BW's I have stayed at. Their housekeeping is incredible. Ryley on the front desk checked me in and answered any questions I had. He is a super nice guy. The location is across the street from Kingsway Mall and I think you could walk there faster than driving. My only complaint is the signage is not the best. My GPS got me there but I was unable to recognize it was a BW due to the signage They have an incredible lounge in part of the building that serves an express breakfast to registered guests for $9 versus $14 on the menu. See my separate review ion Runway 29 here on TA for this excellent meal. There is also a Tim Hortons. I attend the Jubilee Auditorium several times a year and if I stay overnight this will be my first choice for accommodations. It is adjacent to the old Municipal airport but as it is used very, very little, noise is a total non issue.

We stayed one night here to go to a concert. We booked the room a month in advance with our friends. Check in was slow and our room was small and smelled like old cigarettes. We couldn't open a window since it overlooked the hallway so had to breathe stale air all night. We had 2 fans going and it didn't help. We were charged 169 for a small cubicle, definitely not worth the money when you can't even breathe fresh air. We stay in a lot of best westerns and this one shouldn't be classified as a Plus. We will probably not stay here again and stay at the South one instead as you get your money's worth at that one. (Cheaper too)

On concert nights when lots of guests check in around the same time it may take a little longer to get to everyone. As for the stale cigarette smell I will make sure that this gets looked into. Unfortunately some guests have smoked in our rooms and they are fined accordingly. I regret that you won't be staying with us again, but am glad to hear you will continue to stay with Best Western.

It was good but still improve needed, was good for sure this time then my last stay at this location of Best Western, hoping that they will improve their services, hotel is at very convenient location in Edmonton and best thing is Tim Horton just beside the hotel;

We recently visited Edmonton and stayed here for 5 nights. The room cleaning service was amazing. Left my daughters stuffies a different way each day, the rooms were amazingly clean. The front desk staff was very knowledgeable when asked questions. The pool was great for my 11 year old. She loved the slide. Having a hit restaurant and a Tim Hortons on property was wonderful. There was no real complaint about the hotel and staff. We felt very welcomed to be there.

I especially liked the little things: fancy folding of the hand towels, the way the shower curtain was draped; pillows on the bed. These little touches made me feel "I mattered" The bar staff was enthusiastic & knowledgeable about their menu & beverages. Very conversational!! Front desk staff also very good.

My daughter planned a family night out and made arrangement to stay here for one night. We ended up re-booking elsewhere, due to the wrong type of accommodation provided, as well as the general environment. Personally, I felt very unsafe with the type of people hanging around outside, smoking. While she was checking in, a rude woman ran in from outside into the lobby wanting to use the bathroom! Thankfully, hotels.com offered her an $80 credit which we could use elsewhere once the hotel refused to issue a refund, although, they did not provide the type of accommodations that my daughter reserved for. There was no sofa bed and when she called to try to get a cot, the front desk hung up on her. On our way out, reception didn't even acknowledge us. I would never stay here!

Thank you for your review. That sounds like a horrendous stay and I apologize that you had to go through all of that! I went through all the booking sites and nothing states that we have a sofa bed. We also haven't had any stay issues with any of our bookings through hotels.com. I think you may have accidentally gotten the wrong hotel.

Went to Metallica and decided to stay with them since it was close to Commonwealth Stadium. Hotel had a resteraunt, Tim Horton's attached, water slides and pool. Kingsway Mall is also located across the street for shopping. A city transit bus was also utilized during our time to see Metallica that picked us up and dropped us off across the street from the hotel. Our stay and selection of this hotel was one of the best that was offered for us. At the moment the hotel has some small renovations taking place, but does not interrupt your stay.

Thank you for your review. It sounds like you had a great time at Metallica! We are a great choice for those looking to take in events at Commonwealth stadium. The city often does chart buses right across the street at Kingsway. Just show your ticket and you get a free ride!

Overall experience was great! If you have trouble walking or carrying your bags ask for a room on the main floor as there is only one elevator and the walk could be long if you are in the adjacent building. Main building is a little noisier because of the pool though. Food in the attached restaurant is excellent but only serves children before 10:00am as they have a VLT station in there. However there is a Tim Horton's also attached to the building so children can eat there or order from the restaurant as room service. Hotel is conveniently located across the street from Kingsway Mall. Room was quiet and comfortable and very clean!

Good hotel Food was excellent but big portions, make sure to bring your appetite lol Clean, staff very courteous and available to tend to anything. Mattress was hard but just a matter of personal preference.

A family night out... Went as a family to Phantom of the Opera. Our experience was a wonderful night out and had an great time spent as a family ...and our hotel time was great Had supper before preformance and that was also great...more food than we could eat....

Thank you for your review. I keep hearing great things about this season's Phantom of The Opera! I'm glad the family was able to go out and see it together.

Front desk staff, maintenance staff and housekeeping staff are all so friendly! Bed/pillows were so comfy! 17 minute drive to West Edmonton Mall and Olive Garden. Hotel was extremely easy to find using GPS. The mall across the street is a great size and has plenty of stores to browse in. The LRT is a block away at NAIT and was easy to use.

Stayed here for the night while attending Lady Gaga concert. Was a quick cab ride to Rogers Centre. Bed was very comfortable. Just a little upset with garbage truck noise before 7am! Tim Hortons attached to Lobby was a big bonus.

Thank you for your review. I am glad you got to enjoy the concert, but a little upset that you were woken up so early! There shouldn't be any garbage truck coming here before 7 am so I will contact the company who does our waste disposal.

The staff at this hotel are always helpful and friendly. We have stayed here many times and have yet to have a bad experience. The rooms are simple but always very clean. Our last stay our one year old got sick and the front desk did everything they could to try and help us. I would strongly recommend staying here.

Room was exceptionally clean. Staff in the restaurant are exceptionally wonderful - the best at any best western so far! Parking is ample and is across from a shopping mall. Staff at the hotel are courteous, caring and happy! The hotel is set up so that there is a hallway between your room and the outdoors, so the window in the room looks out to the hallway. Would definitely stay again longer so that I can enjoy the pool!

Booked a 2bedroom suite, it was huge. Very clean, modern. Had a fridge, kitchen sink, microwave and toaster. Would have been great for a large family. Close to Rogers Place and across the street from Kingsway Mall.

Thank you for your review. The family suite is quite big! That room will sleep up to 6 people quite comfortably and is one of our most popular rooms.

This hotel is a great option for families. The suites have separate rooms both with tv's so the kids can watch their own shows. They have a lot of free on demand tv shows that are a nice option too. The pool and water slide are a great way to tire the kids out. Hotel and Tim Hortons right attached to the building and a major mall is right across the street. So many conveniences right at hand!

Thank you for your review. It sounds like you and the family had a blast! the TV system seems to have an endless list of shows and movies to choose from. I'm glad you got to take in some of the free options.

I was down in Edmonton for a couple of days and was booked into this hotel, friendly staff, clean facilities, free internet and a very comfy bed. IT is right across from the Kingsway Mall, which if you are into shopping may be nice but compared to the West Edmonton Mall it is pretty dead. The only issue I might have is that it is pretty much in the middle of everywhere I wanted to go, so Uber was used quite a bit. But all and all a good stay.

Thank you for your response. It is funny you mention that we are in the middle of everywhere you wanted to go. Lots of our guest list that as one of the bonuses of staying here!

Hotel should provide complimentary continental breakfast. After I booked the hotel I placed a call to ask if they provide free breakfast and I was told "yes we do". On arrival I was told me they only provide paid breakfast through their restaurant, this is mis-leading information.

Highly recommend staying here, staff go out of their way to be helpful and pleasant, rooms are clean and well appointed. Convenience of having a Tim Horton's on site as well as good quality restaurant/lounge. Medical facilities close by as well as shopping

Thank you for your review! The owners here have created a great culture for the staff to be customer service oriented. I look forward to your next stay.

We chose this hotel for 3 reasons: 1 - a pool and waterslide for the kids 2 - the divided rooms 3 - the onsite Tim Hortons The pool was great and kids kids (and husband had a ball on the waterslides) There were even life jackets available for small kids. The Tim Horton's was great to grab a morning coffee and a quick snack and we made use of it everyday. The divided room was good...but space was very limited. There wasn't enough space to put out suitcases and move around. We were only there for 2 nights, so we made due, but space was tight. The location was great for us as we wanted to be close to downtown. All the staff were super friendly, from the front desk to the cleaners. We would definitely stay here again!

very clean and cozy place nice that there was a pool also Tim Hortons was right on the parking lot and the hospital and shopping stores was close by I would really recommend this hotel to my family and I will return in the future

Thank you for your review and your recommendation! Almost everything you need is close to the hotel and the staff will help you find anything that isn't!

We were seeking a location for a single overnight stay which was convenient to Rogers Place and the Ice District. This location provided just that. We suspect that this Best Western facility has lost some of its draw as the targeted market being the adjacent municipal airport had closed over 6 years ago. Notwithstanding, this site was still conveniently located to numerous other amenities included road system, fast food and a shopping mall. Clearly the interior and exterior decor were both dated and required upgrade. Again this was countered by friendly and helpful staff as well as very clean rooms. Parking was handing and the buildings and rooms were secured by key cards. No complementary breakfast was a bit of a disappointment offset partially by a discounted breakfast at an adjacent shop. It appears that this facility was undergoing renovations so a future stay would likely become enhanced. When compared to the numerous other Best Western locations we have stayed at over the past three years, this one did not have a strong appeal but the jury is out for the future. Given all of the above, my reaction was the room was a bit over priced. No regrets over our stay but not highly recommended unless driven by its convenient location.

stayed on two occasions and both times the staff was great. I was in town for medical reasons and both times the desk clerk made sure I got a room on ground floor and arranged transport to and from hospital.

I had a good night sleep beds were really comfortable. kids had a blast in the swimming pool. would stay there again if I needed to. was easy to find. next to a mall if I needed to go shopping. having tim hortons close buy was nice to. even though I did not make it there to buy a coffee. check out was simple.

Centrally located and lots close by including close to down town, Rogers Place and quite easy to get anywhere else. Edmonton's ring road is amazing. St Albert isn't far away and nor is the West Edmonton Mall. Will stay here again depending on the reason I am in town. Would be great for an event at the Roger Place.

Thank you for your review! The ring road completion was a huge sigh of relief for all of us here in Edmonton. Concerts, games and other events at Rogers are super close, but far enough that we don't get the associated noise and traffic. It's great!

Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Edmonton Area. Bring a big appetite as the restaurant has a great menu with large portions at great prices and there is a Timmy's there as well

Thank you for your review and your recommendation. The food is always great up in the Runway 29 Lounge. If you thought they had a great menu before come back in a few months when they roll out their new menu!

The location, value, cleanliness and helpful staff were all good. My only complaints are that the rooms are dark and sheers need to stay shut because the window looks out on an indoor hallway therefore NO privacy when open...the shower pressure is poor. Otherwise good value and location. Keep up the friendly staff! Tim Hortons on location is handy:)

For your next stay get in contact with the front desk and mention what you didn't like. We have other room types available that would suit you better. As for the shower pressure that seems like something our maintenance team can look into. I hope you'll give us another shot to prove we are more than just a 3 star property!

Fantastic stay, Hotel was clean, undergoing some renovations which will look great when done. Excellent location and value for room. Hot tub was hot, pool and water slide were fun. Staff was amazing and a big shout out to Amanda for making us feel at home. Tim Horton's attached, does it get any better.

A great hotel for business stays. I've stayed here frequently. Clean. Good service. Easy check-in and check-out. Parking is a bit crammed but not horrible. Great lounge upstairs and the fact that the hotel is connected to Tim Hortons is awesome on winter mornings. I've had an issue with booking one time and the central office and local staff were able resolve the problem. I recommend this place for sure.

Thank you for your review. There are a lot of guests who come in for business. The hotel is located centrally and has easy access to downtown offices, the main AMA office as well as NAIT. Earning your recommendation is high praise and I hope to see you again soon.

I have been staying at this hotel for the previous 3 weeks without any problems through WCB. I drove 3 hours showed up at 11:00 pm to get to my hotel for my 4th and final week of physiotherapy but WCB booked me one day earlier than I was supposed to be there. So when I showed up they tell me we cancelled your prepaid week stay and have no room for you tonight. I was treated very rude by Howie and wouldn't believe what I was saying. I ended up having to run around to find another hotel at 11:00 at night because they gave up my prepaid room. I will never step foot into that hotel again.

I feel awful for you that this happened. WCB informed us earlier this year that they will not pay for No-Show reservations. Since WCB made a mistake when booking your room, it was a no-show for the first night and as per WCB instructions, we had to cancel the room. They give us no direct contact to deal with when it comes to these issues. I would love to be able to hold rooms for guests that do not come. However, we cannot do that for WCB. And it was a full night at the hotel so we had no extra rooms to rent out, otherwise we would have accommodated you. I hope that you will give us a chance again. We are so sorry that your room was booked improperly and you were inconvenienced in the evening.

I love being out of the downtown core, in amongst the cement jungle. This location is next to the city airport, where you can see runway 29. Kingsway Mall is across the street. We used it to buy forgotten dress shoes, hair spray, and a wedding card. It couldn't be better. Liquor store is on the east side of the Mall. Close to neighbourhoods and Borden Park. What else do you need??? This will be our "go to" hotel when in Edmonton. Loved it !!!

This is one of my favourite Best Westerns to stay at in Edmonton. It is close to downtown, right beside Kingsway Garden Mall, and a quick exit to the Yellowhead highway when leaving town. There is a Tim Hortons right on site, plus the restaurant Highway 29 just above with excellent food. The staff is great, and the rooms so so comfortable. Its just the best!

this hotel gives you points for your stay,promotions happening all the time.Plus they give a $10.discount on your next stay(every little bit helps). This hotel has a swimming pool & hot tub. Hotel is very clean.average price. Best Western also give discounts if you are there fr medical reasons.A mall directly across the street to go shopping/waste time/meet friends/go eat. The staff are terrific,always there ready to help you with whatever you may need. They are very polite & courteous as well as friendly. They make you feel welcomed! This is my experience and I expect you to have the same type of experience as I do when you stay here.

This Hotel has some really nice features! It has a great room for families with a queen in the front, bathroom in the middle, and a queen in the back... however, the front room is right at the hall (so it can be loud depending on who is going down the hall) The 2 Queen bed standard rooms are basic, but clean, and offer comfy beds. The bathroom provided the necessities. While not a problem of the hotel - the walls are insanely thin, and if you get some jerk in the room next to you talking loudly until 2 or 3AM it dampens your ability to sleep. The pool is small, however, my kids had it to themselves early in the morning! They LOVED the waterslide! Breakfast is not included... you can buy it at the on site restaurant (we elected not to) There is a Tim Horton's on site if you want to grab a coffee or some breakfast items there. We would definitely stay here again when in Edmonton. :)

Thank you for your response. Ah noisy neighbours... the sworn enemy of the hotel worker. The Front Desk staff is on call 24 hours a day. If you have someone bothering you from next door then let us know. At the end of the day our hotel is meant for guests to get some rest and if someone is preventing that then we will have to step in. Guests are more than welcome to keep whatever hours they prefer, but if they are being an annoyance to other paying guests than they will have to abide by our rules.

This was my first time here and was going to be there for few days. The staff was very friendly. I was traveling with a trailer and was having some trouble backing up and the Manager himself came and helped me park. They also were kind enough to check me into a room closer to my vehicle. The service levels are A+. The rooms are great. Clean, spacious and cozy and comfy. Room service cleans the rooms each day and they do a great job. They do have a Restaurant but I did not visit there. However, there is a Tim Hortons in the Lobby building which is open 24hrs. Also, the Kingsway mall is right opposite the hotel. A great location and value for money. Would definitely recommend.

Always try to stay here as it is walking distance to shopping. Central in city, so easy to navigate where u need to go. Always clean & friendly staff. Restaurant meals are excellent too! Beds are so comfortable & cable tv is the best.

This is the only hotel we stay at when in Edmonton. Three generations of my family have been staying here now and it has become like our home. The staff is what keeps us coming back...always friendly and accommodating. They even remember our names. During Christmas five years ago my dad had to undergo emergency heart surgery and I was at the hotel by myself throughout the holidays. The staff knew my situation and went out of their way to make my stay and Christmas as best as could be without my family. The rooms are always clean and we have never really had any issues with all of our stays here.

I would probably not stay in this hotel again. I chose it because it was close to a venue, but I would rather drive an extra few minutes and stay anywhere else. Rooms were small, beds were not very comfortable, parking was a little tight, the room that I had was extremely loud. I didn't sleep very well at all, and a good is really important when you travel for business.

I checked the room that you rented and apologize. The bed that you slept on is a high end bed, as required by Best Western Plus standards. However, it does have a noticeable squeak and it is uncomfortable. I have since replaced it based on your recommendation. Also, the room that you had was near the elevator, which to some guests can be highly convenient, but even though we have concrete construction, the sound of people getting on and off the elevator in a building with other people in it can disrupt the sleep. Please point out that you wish to be placed in a quieter area next time and our staff will be happy to accommodate you. We always have enough parking to accommodate every vehicle, but I can see how if most stalls are taken up by larger vehicles, it can be difficult to get the doors fully opened. We are planning a realignment of our lot to add some angle parking, which should alleviate some of that pressure. If you would like more free space in your room, I suggest next time staying in one of our king bed rooms or a room with two beds. I hope that you will give us another chance to give you a comfortable stay. I am mailing a gift certificate for this hotel to the address that we have on file for you.

Excellent place to stay, very central to all amenities. Very quiet and very comfortable rooms. Staff was excellent and very helpful. Very secure rooms and easy parking. Would highly recommend this hotel.

I'm glad to hear that you had a great stay. Most of our guests comment about how quiet the rooms are. That is the great benefit of concrete construction. We always have plenty of free parking available and are happy to accommodate. Thank you for the great review!

Although a little dated and semi motel style, I found the rooms soundproof. Plug in was not designed for a lefty (in my room anyway) made getting ready a challenge. No free breakfast but a cheap, yet express and tasty breakfast. The bed was quite comfy and clean.

Thank you for your response. I've never heard that access may be limited to our south paw guests. How can the staff organize the room to improve access for you? I have however heard some of the dated comments. This spring/summer will bring some major renovations to improve the look of the hotel! I hope you will come back and see it when it's all done.

They advertise "Our hotel houses a full restaurant and lounge" but fail to explain the full restaurant does not allow minors after 10 am. This is a huge mislead. The whole reason we picked the place was due to having a restaurant on site as our time is limited and that was a major consideration.

Thank you for your response. I am very sorry that your stay was affected by the dine-in hours of the Runway 29 Lounge. The Runway 29 Lounge does close to minors at 10 am because of the Alberta liquor laws. The kitchen is always happy to accommodate guests with full menu room service or take out. I hope that you will give our property another chance. In no way do we intend to mislead or inconvenience our guests.

Rooms were clean. Inside the rooms there was no noticeable sound transmission from the street, the hall or neighbouring rooms. Older hotel but rooms have been updated and modernized inside. Though we never used it, there is a pool in main building lobby. Very close to NAIT, Kingsway mall and the Royal Alex hospital. There is a Tim Horton's on site which is a bit of a double edged sword. Your morning coffee is right there but you have to contend with busy traffic and awkward parking lot routing that has non-hotel patrons visiting and parking.

Thank you for your response. The rooms have gone through quite a transformation and there are still more changes on the way. The Tim Hortons traffic issue will hopefully be resolved later this year. The plan is to change some of the parking lines around to allow for more room and more stalls. Hopefully the next time you come in this won't be an issue!

We booked here as we were flying into town to attend a 60 th Anniversary, and thought the location would be very good as well as we like these hotels. Everything was fine as we expected, staff were helpful and courteous, there was however no continental breaky as most BW have but for us this time that was alright. We were able to use three gift certificate vouchers we had accumulated from a previous trip to & from the status this winter so that was great. This location is ideal if you need to be close to downtown. We would stay here again.

Thank you for your response. First of all congratulations to whoever was celebrating their 60th anniversary! That is quite the milestone. The breakfast may not be continental, but it is offered up in the Runway 29 Lounge every morning. There are discounts available for our hotel guests as well. This is a big full meal that is freshly prepared when you order. I hope your next trip to Edmonton doesn't take 60 years!

Excellent location within 20 minutes of several venues. Breakfast was very good with excellent service and tasty food. Hot tub and pool were a nice way to relax after a strenuous day. Dinner menu was somewhat limited but what we tried was delicious with price range to suit any need. Parking and hotel access was well laid out for easy access

Little difficult to find! When did Best Western change to red signs! Room was clean and quiet! Towels were great, pillows were fabulous for a hotel but the sheets were very polyester for me! I liked the plug in adapter! Room had a fridge which was handy! Nice place!

Very pleased with the hotel and waterslide and rooms. My family was very happy and entertained with the pool and staff was very helpful and rooms very clean and fresh. Bonus there was a tim hortons in this hotel which made the morning very easy to get going very fast and less stops on our way to our cheerleading competition that we were staying in town for.

This is an old motel what has been updated and was well done. We had 2 rooms with 2 queen beds and the rooms were spacious and clean. But very expensive for this type of accommodation. I looked at other rooms and the queen bed and king bed rooms were very, very small. I would not stay in one of these rooms. We selected this hotel because it was close to where we needed to be and had a waterslide.

I am happy to hear that you like our updates. We are constantly renovating and will be doing even more. Our lobby will be undergoing an expansion this fall. It's great that you got to enjoy the waterslide. The room that you chose is a great selection for families as it has a separate TV for you and the kids, and you can have a quiet sleep with the door between you.

Our stay was decent. Staff was nice. The pool was fun Stayed there for a hockey tournament. Very clean. Although the parking was always busy. I did enjoy the Tim Hortons in the hotel. I always like the soft water

I'm glad to hear that things went well for you. Yes, we are a busy hotel, so our parking lot can reflect that. But we always have enough free parking for everybody.

Very bad choice to choose this location, I will not recommend any one else to go to that location, sevice and rooms all poor to average, rooms are very very small, it's waste of money and time, very very bad experience, chose some other hotels,

When I spoke to you on the phone, your complaint was that the front desk was calling you because other guests were complaining about noise coming from your room. Our floors are concrete and complaints were coming from the guests below you. I hope that you understand that we do not want other guests to be uncomfortable and we must call to follow up on guest noise complaints. I also asked and you said that otherwise the service and the room were good. I hope that you give us another chance in the future.

Enjoyed our recent stay at this hotel but we expected quite a bit more based on the price we paid. They charge a 4-5 star price but really is only a 3 star hotel. Probably based on the location to Kingsway mall, the Royal Alex hospital and the Nait campus. We reserved a king room based on all the reviews and it was a great choice. For some odd reason, we were offered the option of a queen room upon check-in which we fortunately refused because the wing where the queen rooms are was packed with kids and young adults. We stayed in the north wing and is quite far from the lobby/pool which is where all the adult couples seemed to stay. The north wing is connected to the entire hotel via a corridor. We are so glad we read previous reviews or we would have been stung. As for the rooms, they are quite small so don't expect much. They have old electric baseboard heating so anyone with children should be aware. We found the room to be quite dark but clean. The bathroom fan turns on automatically when you turn on the bathroom light and it was very loud. We were surprised to find only 2 towels in the room. That seemed a bit cheap for the price you pay. I'm sure they would have brought more if we asked but that's not the point. The internet speed was extremely good for a hotel. The Optic tv channels were sufficient. There is a high table in the room to eat at but no chairs. There is a very uncomfortable lounge chair and an adjustable office chair on wheels. The restaurant service was quite poor but the food was pretty good albeit expensive. We had breakfast at the Tim Hortons and were surprised at how dead it was. All in all, i consider this a budget hotel and would only stay here again if I received a budget price of $99 or less.

I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed our fast fibre-optic wifi, many TV channels, and clean room. We always have extra towels available upon request, and include enough for each guest in the room to have one towel, plus hand and face cloths. We don't initially stock extra towels in the room to reduce the harm to the environment of having to launder unused towels before the next guest arrives. However, I understand that it can be an inconvenience to ask for extra towels to be delivered, and I will take this into consideration as a possible change to our policy of how many towels we have in the rooms. Yes, families do stay at our hotel. We have the most sound proof walls in the industry with all floors being concrete, and the rooms having either concrete, or 10"double insulated with sound deadening board walls. So we rarely have complaints about noise. Most guests compliment our hotel on how quiet it is. The heating in the rooms in the North wing of our building is radiant baseboard heat provided by gas and water, not electricity. Like all businesses, there are busy times of day and slower times of the day. The Tim's is quite often busy, but it will have slow periods. I'm happy that it wasn't busy for you so that you could get your food right away.

I was in for just one night on business and was surprised how comfortable my stay was. The room was clean and I had an awesome sleep even with being located right off the elevators. It can be a little pricey here but would stay again if I could get a good deal.

I'm happy to hear that you had a great stay. The rooms are very quiet, even off of the elevator because when we built the hotel, there was an airport with jumbo jets next door (it has since closed), and we installed the best sound deadening available in commercial construction. When you are in town next time, I hope that we get to host you for another great sleep!

Stayed two nights, room was clean but rugs and bedskirts looking very worn. Plug ins in bathroom not close to the mirror, very unhandy. Beds and pillows were clean and comfortable.Rooms need some updating. Hotel is well located to Northlands Coliseum. Would stay there again for an event at Northlands.

This is a little gem near downtown Edmonton. The hotel rooms are clean and not fancy. Across the street from a mall. Has a great restaurant with large portions. Has a Tim Hortons attached to it so great snack and coffee options. Parking lot can get tight. The pool is great for kids with a fun waterslide.

Excellent Satff; Clean Rooms; Nice Pool with fun Water Slide for Kids. One major drawback for families is the restaurant/lounge cannot have kids after 10 A.M because their VLT's start-up at that time - in my opinion; a family hotel should cater to families rather than folks who have to get their 'gambling fix' in during the morning...

Hotel was fine for a short stay and was clean with a comfortable bed and pillows, Tim Horton's on property which was handy for getting an early start the next morning. Room was clean and supplied all the essentials.

Every time we stay, we've had fantastic service. No complaints. Great friendly staff. If you're looking for a hotel in a great location, this one's perfect..Kingsway mall is across the street, and Rodgers place is a cheap cab ride away.

Service was excellent. Hotel staff very nice to work with. The hotel was very clean but it could use a little updating. The internet was quite a bit slower than I expected it to be. The only real issue I had was showering every morning I could not get the water any warmer than lukewarm. One morning I even got up an hour earlier to try and it was still barely lukewarm. Definitely need to upgrade their hot water system. One morning the breaker blew for my room. Called the front desk and they had the power back on very quickly.

Thank you for your response. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay and that the service made up for some of the other shortcomings. I am sorry to read that there were some issues with your stay though. While our internet may not be as fast as some have at home it should still be giving fast enough speed to easily stream TV or movies. The hot water issue sounds like it could be an issue with the room you were in specifically. Please don't hesitate to call down to the front desk so we can get our maintenance team on it. I hope you will consider staying with us again as the issues you've mentioned aren't usually the norm.

We always stay at this location for convenience. It is close to shopping & medical appointments. It has a Tim Horton's connected. It is very clean. Staff are always great. We have never had a bad experience at this Best Western location.

Fast check in, friendly helpful staff, hot tub and comfy beds. I bought some of their pillows about four years ago and they are still poofy and comfortable. It is close to and accessible to hospital and shopping

Friendly staff, very clean rooms. Everything was fabulous would definitely recommend you stay at the Best Western Plus City Center Inn. The pool looked like lots of fun perhaps next time we will have a chance to enjoy it. Loved having a Tim Horton's attached to the Hotel and the fact that it was open 24hrs was a plus.

This room was so quite dispite it is set on a very busy street. It was the cleans room I've been in with no complaints. The one thing that could have been better is the towels wish they were softer found them scratchy and the bath towels not big enough. Thank you for the wonderful review! Since the walls and floors here are concrete, the building is very quiet. I am happy that you appreciated the cleanliness of the rooms. Our housekeeping staff works hard every day to keep them fresh. I have a great tip for the towels. If you find that the ones in the room are not up to your preference, we have bigger fluffy towels for the pool area. Simply ask the front desk and we would be happy to bring them to you. We look forward to seeing you on your next stay!

Great pool and staff for families but bring your own pillows at minimum to have a good sleep. If you like quiet this is also the hotel for you. Our kids were watching a movie at 7pm and got a noise complaint.

I'm happy to hear that you loved the pool and the staff. I apologize that you didn't like the pillows. Best Western required thick, fluffy pillows. Personally, I prefer a soft, flat pillow. If you come back, I suggest that you contact the front desk staff and ask for a softer pillow. We have them available for you. Wow, either a guest must have been very sensitive to noise, or the movie was too loud. I apologize for the inconvenience. We are prompt and thorough when responding to guest complaints.

Will book again. Great new renovated bathrooms. Comfy beds. Great sheets. Located across from kings Way mall. Close to downtown. Good location. Stayed two nights. Has a pool but I did not use. Very clean.

I have stayed here multiple times little expensive but always good service and clean. Recently stayed in 101 which is at the start of the hall.The hallway in front of the door is carpeted but the one outside the room wall heading to the lobby is tiled everytime anyone pulled a wheeled piece of luggage over the tiled it woke us up. Made for along restless night.

I am so sorry that you had a poor sleep because of noise from the hallway. This is the first time that I have heard that complaint about room 101, but I can understand how it could be an issue. We plan on doing a renovation of the lobby next year, and I will look into solutions to minimize the noise effect that you mentioned. Hopefully we will have a chance to make you happy in the future.

Stayed here for two nights and was happy with our experience. Check in was easy and our room was simple but very clean and comfortable. I liked that the mini fridge was actually on the large side and very cold, pool was nice, and the Tim Hortons attached to the hotel was very convenient. This is not a luxury hotel but still very nice and I would stay here again if I needed to be in this area.

Thank you for your review. We always do our best to make check in and check out as efficient as possible. And we use a nice sized fridge because guests may want to store more than tiny things. Nice enough place for a few days.............wifi was AWFUL!!! Housekeeping got a bit shoddy towrds the end of our stay and for God's sake please put microwaves in your kitchenette............that was really missing. Most rooms these days have a microwave along with a fridge.

We stayed here for a couple of nights in early September, it was booked last minute from a family member to be close to the Royal Alexandra hospital. We had a basic queen room, was alright for just sleeping but not much room other than that. Our room had two large towels in it and a few smaller bath towels- which isn't that big of a deal, but in our case housekeeping decided to not show up during the entire stay. Front desk was helpful, and the pool was a lot of fun for my daughter to play in - although fairly deep. Loved having the options of life jackets! Very convenient location, across from Kingsway mall and about 1-2 km from the Royal Alexandra hotel so if you dont feel like ordering from the menu which is somewhat expensive, you can either walk to the 24 hour Tim Hortons on the other side of the hotel or go to the food court across the street. Overall I would consider staying again due to the location and pool that my daughter loved, but would definitely pay extra to upgrade the rooms for the space! (My fault for not confirming the rooms booked with my family member when it was an emergency stay). Would next time be making complaints to the front desk regarding house keeping if the situation was different and we weren't so tired already from our long day.

Thank you for your response. I am sorry to hear that housekeeping did not make up your room during your stay! Usually our housekeeping team is quite punctual. The pool is always a great place for the kids (and adults!) to have some fun. We've got a variety of different life jacket sizes so everyone can enjoy themselves.

Overall good hotel. Will ask for 1st floor room if I book a room again. I am 61 years old and would have liked an elevator to bring my bags up to 2nd floor. Went into Tim Hortons which is attached to hotel. Too many men sitting around booths. Seems like a hangout. Did not feel comfortable as a lone female to sit and have coffee and donut, left without buying anything.

Thank you for your response. We do have an elevator up to our 2nd floor rooms. It is located in the South wing. I am sorry you did not feel comfortable in the Tim's. You are always welcome to come to the lobby and make use of our very comfortable couches!

This was our third stay in as many years at this hotel. Every year we see the improvements that they are doing and it is considerable! The fact that they are right across from the Kingsway Mall and NAIT is definitely a plus for them. We love the decorating and cleanliness and everyone was most helpful and attentive to our needs. Having Tim Horton's on site doesn't hurt either! We will definitely stay again!

Brought a family of five from Cold Lake to here (Lord, give me strength). We found this hotel close to the West Edmonton Mall (9km of fairly straight, easy driving). We got a family room for two nights at $320. It has a great pool, separate rooms in the family rooms. Can lock out the teens. No cots available but they do have play pens. It is a straight up hotel, not many add ons but there is a Tim Horton's attached to the hotel, AWESOME! A nice restaurant upstairs that serves a great breakfast. After breakfast, no minors are allowed in though. A big mall across the street (Kingsway) too. Would recommend for any out of town families.

Attended a wedding nearby. The room was spacious, newly renovated, nice décor and very clean. The fridge and internet worked well. Large parking area. The bed was very comfortable and no noise at all provided for a great sleep! The express breakfast at $8 was large, well presented and very tasty. Good value!

The hotel and its staff are excellent. I would recommend this hotel all day long. I will book here again. On the flip side the attached restaurant was terrible. Poor service, terrible food and no real value. The staff at the hotel were almost over accommodating. They kept the pool open late for us, they also gave us a very late check out without a question. Awesome place.

This hotel is a large older motel style complex. The rooms have low 9 foot ceilings but that's where the "old" stops. Extensive renovations and an eye for detail with amenities make this a hotel I would recommend. Perhaps the best part is the reasonable cost.

It was an okay experience. The hotel staff was courteous and the room was clean. It was very convenient to the hospital which was the purpose of my visit. I had a good nights sleep. Parking was the only issue but that was more due to the size of my vehicle.

Our head housekeeper is excellent and she and her staff do a great job of cleaning the room with environmentally ozone which minimizes the need for harsh chemicals. I hope that you got the parking situation sorted out. We do have enough stalls for all of the rooms to have free parking, and we also have some stalls for larger vehicles such as tour buses and trailers, so I hope that the staff helped you to figure out a good area to park in.

Good clean best western located north of city centre and near NAIT. 24 hr tim hortons attached and good upstairs bar . Nice size water slide for kids. Rooms average size but clean and neat. All staff we talked to were polite and helpful. Parking is busy and tight some nights.

Thank you for your response. The staff here are one of our biggest assets. From the housekeepers in the rooms to the servers in the lounge there is a fantastic culture for catering to our guests needs.

We had a nice clean room. Great shower with great water pressure. Beds were comfortable with nice bedding and great pillows. Very good location for proximity to Kingsway Mall, and the Edmonton downtown core. We did not use any of the facilities such as the swimming pool or restaurant on this trip due to a very busy schedule with planned events.

The softest water you have ever had in a shower. Good room but difficult to find if you are not familiar with Edmonton. The only real compliant was the pillows on the the bed. Very hard and tough to get a good nights sleep but otherwise, a very pleasant, friendly place and right next to a Tim Horton for Breakfast.

Right across the road from Kingsway Garden Mall which is great if you are a shopper like myself. Its very handy to shopping and not that far from downtown Edmonton if you wish more shopping or events. Short taxi ride to downtown

I had medical test at the Hys Centre so the location was close as well Kingsway Mall was across the street. Very clean and the staff was friendly. I liked the option of a pool, hot tub and workout room. And it has a Timmie's so very Canadian.

Thank you for your response. The Timmie's next door is a big perk for our guests and our staff. Most people here start the day off with a fresh cup of coffee. That's why we're so friendly!

I stay in hotel's with work quite often so when I picked this one it was just because it was close to where my son was playing hockey. The rooms are all remodeled and very clean, everything worked well and the staff was friendly. The major issue I had is that the majority of this is an old motel that has be re-done to have interior walkway's to the rooms..... AKA it is still a motel so the price should reflect that. Also, the HDMI ports on all the TV's had been disabled so my son couldn't plug in his XBOX, the staff did their best to help but all the TV's they checked had the same issue.

In fact we have several long term customers that bring in their gaming consoles and use them. Regardless, I do apologize that this happened. I know it affected your opinion of the hotel. Our stay at this motel was very good. The staff was helpful etc. We liked the location - we were close to what we wanted to be. The rooms were very nice and always prepared for the next night in a timely fashion.

Great stay. Nice pool area, the pool is deep at the end of the slide but they have life jackets for you to use for your young kids. The beds are comfortable, the pillows are a bit big and stiff, but not a deal breaker for us. Great location across the street from Kingsway Mall and close to great restaurants on 104th Ave!

Great hotel if you need to stay some place close to the hospital. The mall is right across the street. The staff is great and friendly and very helpful. Great for the family too with a swimming pool and hot tub. The swimming pool has a slide in it to keep everyone entertained. Tim Hortons is part of the hotel so a great place for breakfast or just a quick coffee.

My friend and I stayed in this hotel to attend a concert at Commonwealth Stadium. The hotel is within walking distance to the stadium (30 mins or so), or a $12 cab ride. We had very pleasant service by every staff member we encountered, from the front desk agents to the housekeeping staff. The hotel was clean, well maintained and the pool was definitely a plus. There are no signs regarding towels in the pool area, but you can take the pool towels to your room- and/or there is a changing area. We had a mini fridge and a nice bathtub in our room with 2 queens. I did find that some of the rooms had windows that seemed to look out onto the hallway which seemed strange, but our room had an outside view. There was wifi and a laundry room available as well, with fresh cookies for guests upon check-in. Tim Hortons attached was very convenient and the Kingsway Mall is steps outside the door, along with a Sobey's Liquor Store. I would certainly stay again.

On this trip, it was great to relax in a good hotel that has friendly staff, a nice king size bed, quiet overall and a Tim Horton restaurant on site was a plus!!! A shopping mall just across the street is a good place to buy stuff for family and grandchildren. The central location of this hotel makes it easy to get to West Edmonton Mall and family to the northwest and east of the city.

This hotel is located perfectly and has a great restaurant! It also has a Tim Hortons on location that is open 24/7!!!! Unbelievable!!! If I am ever back in Edmonton I will definitely stay here again. The Kingsway Mall is right across the road and many restaurant choices all in easy walking distance. We came for a concert and chose this hotel because of ease to Rexall place and as an added bonus across from a mall. We were also just minutes from the Telus World of Science. Great location, very clean, super friendly staff and great food. We will be back for sure

Thank you for your response. I always forget how close we are to a lot of great attractions around Edmonton! The hotel is so close to Kingsway Ave, 111 ave and 109 st that it is easy to get anywhere around town.

This hotel is close to downtown Edmonton with a small pool and water slide. It has a Tim Hortons attached and also a restaurant / lounge that has very good food. It's not a luxurious hotel but a nice place to stay at a reasonable price. Rooms are very clean and made up well.

Thank you for your response. I am glad you enjoyed your stay. The Runway 29 Lounge has great food! I hope you tried some of their lunch and dinner specials. Everyday it's something new and I can't wait to try it.

As usual the stay was very good. The only problem with this hotel is parking is limited and very tight. Location is excellent and close to shopping and hospital and medical facilities. Would highly recommend and will continue to use for future stays.

The hotel has been very busy and our parking lot is close to full. The location probably has a lot to do with that. Fortunately, we have enough stalls so that we have never had to turn anyone away from parking. We look forward to serving you during your future stays.

I was very impressed with the staff, and the comfort of my room. The hotel was also very close to where I was attending an event. The hotel was much better than I had expected, just from the picture I had seen of it. The room was so clean, and had everything I needed for a great stay.

Thank you for your response. The housekeeping team here does a fantastic job. They have won many awards over the years based on cleanliness. Hopefully the next time you need to be in Edmonton we will see you again.

I spent two nights here with one of my children, and two of our good friends. We were in a divided room, which gave us two separate bedrooms, very handy for non-family sharing. The room was very clean and comfortable, aside from temperature. The heating/cooling system only seemed to work on one side of the room. The bathroom was tiny, and there didn't seem to be a working fan in the space either. The front desk staff was friendly and pleasant. The Tim Horton's on site was terrible. Lacking in service speed, and sold out on many items, which was disappointing as I really wanted more than 2 options for hot tea. The biggest issue was the lack of towels in the pool area. The staff said that the hotel was sold out that weekend, so that's why there weren't enough towels, but honestly, that shouldn't have had them be out of fresh towels all 4 times I took my child to the pool area. As we were in town for a conference, and will probably be back, I'd love to see the hotel remedy this issue.

Nothing but good to say. Very clean rooms and property. Awesome staff all around, from check in to restaurant and housekeeping. All were very helpful and had big smiles and were very friendly, even at 3:00 in the morning when we checked in. Close to the hospital and shopping centre.

We stayed one night at this hotel order to be close to the Royal Alexandra Hospital, where my husband had an early morning appoinment. Room was small but functional and clean. Desk clerk informed us of the medical rate, when we mentioned his appt.

Thank you for your response. The hotel does offer a medical rate for guests coming in to attend an appointment. I know how stressful medical appointments can be so every little bit helps.

In Edmonton, I have stayed Sawridge Inn, best western south, and best western city centre. By far this BW city centre is the worst. It is not bad but to compare with others, room is too small. Parking is crazy crowded, breakfast is not included. Well It was a good experience to stay here but i wont come back here.

I have never had to turn a vehicle away from our parking lot though. I wish you well in your travels and perhaps someday you will give the Best Western Plus City Centre Inn another chance.

Great staff , nice clean hotel. Close to Royal Alexandria Hospital in Edmonton. Easily accessible. I often use this hotel due to the proximity to the hospital. I would recommend this hotel to family and friends. It also has a tummies' attached so ease of use for the customers is a huge benefit.

Thank you for your response. Earning your recommendation is the best award we can get! Having a Tim Hortons connected to the lobby is great for guests (and staff!).

Stayed here again, great hotel and close to amenities. Only down side is the fitness room is in an bsmt and the parking lot is tight. Would be nice if there was a continental breakfast. Overall though, a nice clean hotel and the staff are awesome!!

Comfortable, quiet, clean, new tubs/bathroom fixtures, separated sleeping areas in a standard two queen beds room with two TV's and doors for privacy, great pool and waterslide, hot tub. A good night's sleep.

This is a great place to stay at in the city . It was very close to the hosiptal , and the mall is right across the street . The staff are very helpful and friendly . When we need a break from the hosiptal(Royal Alex) it wasn't a long ride back to our hotel . It is nice to be so close to everything .Great Location . We also took a swim in the pool and soak in the hot tub and it was very nice . Plus we got medical discount but we had to bring proof of our appointment. We really like this hotel alot. Thanks you to all the staff that are doing a great job .

We are very close to the Royal Alexandria hospital as well as a number of other medical facilities including the Glenrose rehabilitation center, HYS center and Gimble eye clinic. After a long day of appointments the short back to the hotel and sitting in our hot tub can melt away the stress. I hope next time we see you will be for pleasure instead of appointments!

The staff here are always welcoming with a smile. Rooms are clean and comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Edmonton. Never had a problem and I will always stay here. Location is perfect, the mall is just across the street and they have a Tim Hortons on location for early morning coffee.

Staff were friendly. Shower was NOT hot at all. This is the 2nd time we have stayed here and had the same problem in another room. We reported it last time and does not seem anyone really listened Rooms were clean. Internet was ok.

After several less than satisfactory experiences at other BW hotels in Edmonton, I decided to try this one and I'm glad that I did. My Diamond status was recognized immediately and I received the treatment that was sorely lacking elsewhere. The guest room was very well appointed, clean and comfortable. If you are a guest in the hotel, the upstairs restaurant (Runway 29) gives you a $3 discount off an already well priced breakfast. It has a fabulous view of the airport. What separates this hotel from the others is the acting general manager, Douglas. He is friendly, professional and exceptionally gifted at customer service. It doesn't take long to find out that his staff enjoys working for him. If you were to read other Tripadvisor reviews of this property, you'll notice that he replies to each review with personal responses that acknowledge the specifics of your critique, instead of the usual 'cut and paste' responses you often see elsewhere. He seems to really care about your experience. I highly recommend this property, when you have choices

We always stay at this hotel and are always pleased with the experience. The only downside is there are never any towels in the pool area and we have to go ask for some. The water in the hot top was also kind of slimy.

As for the hot tub the maintenance team usually does an amazing job on upkeep. I will pass along your message to them so we can continue to make sure the hot tub and pool area in general are in pristine condition.

Having to regularly travel to Edmonton, I usually avoid the downtown area as this is where I spend most of my time while here and want to get away from the noise and chaos. I don't like Edmonton in general. However, I was pleased with my stay at this hotel and will definitely book here again. Close to my office, across the street from the mall and restaurants, easy access to the core, clean, comfortable, friendly.

I have never considered staying at this hotel when in Edmonton, but decided to try it for one night because it is a Best Western Hotel. I am totally impressed with the hotel, the room and the amenities in the area. I will definitely stay there again.

If from outside you don't think this is a best Western - wait until you get inside the room. Everything is brand new, very quite, highly recommended. The AC is a bit noisy but my colleague from the next room didn't hear it. Walking distance to the Kingsway Mall where you have a tone of opportunities.

Thank you for your response. We are constantly adding upgrades to our rooms. Our owners have the mentality of "if you aren't improving you are falling behind". This is what has kept us in business for so many years and will keep our rooms modern and functional.

This hotel is right across the street from the Kingsway Mall. I had my 80 year old mother with me and was able to walk to the mall with her for a little shop all while conducting my business. The room was clean and she loved the bathroom setup for ease of entry on the shower. I will be staying here again.

Room was small, modern. Bed was on the harder side, room was on the ground floor - noisy with people walking and yelling in the hallway, and there was food cooking smells. Looks like the hotel is older, but had been redone. Pricey, at over $150 for the night with the AMA discount. Although the Tim's next door was a bonus, I wouldn't stay here again.

Thank you for your response. I am sad to hear you wouldn't stay with us again. Hopefully there is some way we can change your mind. We're not usually a noisy property, but periodically we may get a few people who forget others are around them in the hotel. We have 24 hour desk service that patrol the hallways at night. If we happen to miss your noisy neighbours please phone down to the desk and we will make sure to quiet them down. While $150 may seem pricey at first glance we do not have any hidden additional fees like other properties. We have free Wi-Fi and free parking. We have a heated indoor pool hot tub and water slide. We also have a 24 hour Tim Horton's on site and our Runway 29 Lounge for dining.

The experience my wife and I had in this hotel was very great! Right by the hospital for my wife's surgery, friendly staff and a very positive overall stay. We enjoyed coffee at Tim Horton's restaurant, good express breakfast for $8.00 each in the restaurant/lounge upstairs and the laundry facility was a plus for us.

Comfy bed/clean room! Breakfast 8$ ea.-add'nl cost. 170$-pricey. ONE chair in 4-pers rm. Great: iced water in lobby/pool/h.tub. Room coffee & cookies bad-don't bother, BW. Ended up @Tim's lots=more $.

Thank you for your response. The beds are very comfortable and we have won a number of housekeeping awards. Breakfast is an additional cost, but with us you get a freshly made full meal. No lukewarm eggs in a holding tray here. We're hoping to see you again because we know our property has much more to offer than just 3 stars. We know we can make your stay perfect.

This hotel was a pleasant surprise, clean and super comfortable rooms, GREAT food in the lounge/restaurant upstairs, super fast room service and a Tim Horton's in the lobby. Great location across from a major shopping centre, from Yellowhead Trail and NAIT and straight down the road from City Centre. Great parking too. My husband says it is his new favourite.

Had to go to Edmonton for a doctors visit so we stayed at this hotel because of its proximity to the Royal Alex Hospital. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the kids loved the pool and the convenience of the mall being right across the street as well as a Tim Horton's next to the lobby is very handy.

The front desk staff were brilliant and patient in accommodating my changing room requirements recently on a family winter weekend (I know: Edmonton??! We packed off to the Deep Freeze Festival!) Pretty quiet, except doors in the corridors occasionally but we slept well on comfy beds. Very clean, comfy big rooms. I thought the price was good and plenty of parking. Pool was a hit. The staff were all friendly and helpful - we felt very much at home.

Thank you for your response. I am glad you came when you did because we were really a "Deep Freeze" a few days after you checked out! Despite the cold weather it sounds like you had a great time in the Festival City. Make sure to come again in the summer to check out some of the fun festivals Edmonton has to offer. The reception will still be warm and the weather will turn that way too!

We stayed for 1 night with our 4 year old and 1 year old daughters at the beginning of January. We were pleased to see that the hotel was very clean, the rooms were nice and the pool was definitely a plus. Restaurant is upstairs and a Tim Hortons is on the main floor of the hotel. We enjoyed our stay, the only thing I would say that they could work on is more towels in the pool location, we did not get towels as there was none left and had to walk back to the room wet in our swim suits.

We do our best to keep track of the pool towels, but if you find that there are none left please just give a quick shout to the front desk and they will gladly run and grab some for you. Walking from that nice heated pool without something to dry off with is no fun.

Can never go wrong with this hotel, but I find the price goes up every time I stay here...? The location is the main reason I come here, it is convenient and easy to get to where I need to be, so unfortunately, I end up staying here and paying the ridiculous cost. I also ordered room service, asked for the "build your own burger" and they put what they wanted on it anyway!! The food is pretty good, not great...

Thank you for your response. I am sorry to hear that you think we are overpriced. The rates are set in order to make sure we can provide the service that makes our guests say that this is a "Great" hotel. The build your own burger is a guilty pleasure of mine. They do start with the basics of lettuce, tomato and onion on it and I can see where the mix up came from. I'll let the staff upstairs know to prevent further issues.

Our stay was amazing, the personnel were really friendly and the rooms were super clean. We didn't spend much time in the hotel but the time we did, it was exceptionally well. The pool was great for our 2 kids. Effortless check in and check out. Overall, it was a great stay and we will return in the future.

Though the room was a bit on the small side, especially the bathroom, everything from the walls, carpet, all fixtures were new or freshly renovated. Absolutely nothing to complain about. An easy walk to the mall across the street is the reason we stay there.

Thank you for your response. The owners of the Best Western PLUS City Centre Inn have a philosophy akin to "If you are not improving you are falling behind". They are constantly trying to improve the hotel and create a better guest experience.

The room had an odor, with bad sinus it is hard to tell if it was from someone smoking or the cleaning product they used. None the less I am a non smoker and I was accused of smoking in that room! which they charged my credit card $500!! Extreamly angry How do one prove they are a non smoker? Any way the charges were reversed but still Angry

Thank you for your response. We have a strict policy on people smoking in our rooms. A lot of our guests are in for medical reasons and we have to take these situations very seriously. Please understand the damage that our property takes when someone smokes in their room. It upsets other guests and we potentially lose their business. The room smells like smoke for several days and extensive deep cleaning must be done to get the room back to a high standard of cleanliness. The $500 smoking fee is set to try and recoup these losses. We use eco-friendly ozone cleaners in all our rooms that do not leave a strong odor. The odor that was in your room was from cigarette smoke. I am very sorry that you felt like you were victimized. It is our policy to charge guests the smoking fee when their room smells like smoke. This also applies to the guests you allow into your room. You were a rare exception as I recall dealing with you during your stay here and I believe you when you say you are a non-smoker. This policy is not meant to offend or victimize people, but to ensure our guests have a wonderful experience and comfortable stay.

This hotel is within walking distance to the Royal Alex Hospital. Perfect location when you have to be away from home due to a family member being in the hospital. Rooms are very clean and the bed was so comfortable after spending long days at the hospital! I was there for 4 days and all the staff was very helpful and friendly.

Thank you for your response. Yes, we are very close to the Royal Alexandria Hospital as well as the Glenrose Rehabilitation Clinic, Gimble Eye Clinic and many other medical facilities. It's always hard to be away from home, but we pride ourselves in making our guests feel comfortable.

You get a nice but small suite...with breakfast...in a location which is both convenient to downtown and the surrounding area.. Parking is included...which is treat compared to cost of parking downtown...and it has both underground and above.. Could us a bar or an associated restaurant.. but the breakfast is reasonably good..

I'm a diamond member and travel mostly every week in Canada. i arrived on Sunday November 23rd 2015 at 10:30 pm. I was greeted by Winston who was very cheerful and checked me in. The hotel was busy and I was unable to upgrade, that's fine. I understand the hotel industry and was very happy with my room. The night staff is great, they monitor the front entrance and keep an eye who comes in and out of the front entrance. I felt safe and comfortable the entire time.

We stayed two nights. Very friendly staff from the front desk to the lounge. Tim Horton's shares the property so that is nice as well. We found the property and our room to be clean and comfortable. Our room had a nice lay out. We travelled with our kids so our room that was divided by a door into two separate bedrooms was great. This gave them there space and ours. We will stay here again. Great pool area for families to enjoy. Kingsway Mall across the road.

Thank you for your review. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. Travelling with little ones can be difficult, but our divided suites really can make a difference. Although, I bet after a fun evening at our pool everyone was tucked in and ready for bed very early!

I payed maximum price for some reason but if you can get this hotel at internet price it is worth staying. the rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. It has a perfect size pool & waterside for small children that can swim.

Thank you for your response. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay and were able to make good use of the pool. I'm not sure I know what you mean by "maximum price" though. Periodically there are web specials available if you qualify for an advanced purchase rate. These rates are great if you know for sure you are coming to the city. They are non-refundable and purchase is made at the time of the reservation so they may not always be the best option.

Excellent staff, extremely helpful. Close to Kingsway Garden Mall for shopping. Within easy reach of many large and small stores. Not far to West Edmonton Mall. Shuttle service to Airport. Have stayed here many times and have never had a problem.

The Tim Hortons that is part of the hotel wouldn't serve anyone after 11 pm because they only had one staff member working and he said that he had to watch the back and couldn't serve anyone. After a long day of traveling and wanting to get a snack was VERY DISAPPOINTING.

Thank you for your review. After speaking with you via email and getting more information on this incident I brought it up with the Manager of the Tim Hortons. Apparently there were two staff members that did not show up that evening. I don't believe that is a valid excuse and I hope this situation hasn't soured you on the Best Western Plus City Centre Inn.

This hotel is very clean, staff is excellent - called the front desk to see where to get ice and the lady working said I had to come to the Lobby but if I didn't mind waiting a few minutes she had to come over to my are of the Hotel to do a check and delivered some ice to our room. The Décor is nice and the rooms are set up so someone can be using the toilet or showering while another person can be getting ready at the sink as they are 2 separate areas. Excellent location, right across the street from Kingsway Mall and Boston Pizza and Moxie's is also in the same lot as the mall. I have stayed at this location before and have no complaints. We thought it was a little pricey but it is clean and location, location, location!

Thank you for your review. You are right as our location is hard to beat! It sounds like our service is right up there as well. The staff are always looking to help out our guests and I'm glad they could do something extra for you.

Stay here all the time, it's the ideal hotel to stay at when you have appointments downtown. Wife and I stayed here last week, we love the friendly service, very clean rooms, the pool is awesome, as well as the other amenities this hotel offers. Only downfall is the runway lounge restaurant the food is not as good, they changed everything.. other than that everything excellent! One of our favourite hotels in Edmonton!

You're right the Runway 29 has gone through some changes, but the standard menu still has all the old favourites. I'm sorry it wasn't as good as you remembered. I'll let the Manager up there know so the next time you come it will be better than ever!

I'd have given this hotel a 5 of 5 had there been breakfast included. I'm used to the Best Western in the States which all have continental breakfast at a minimum. Staff is friendly and helpful. Peoples Choice Canadian supercenter, gas and liquor stores directly across the street. Rooms ample size and comfortable. I'd stay again.

Thank you for your review. I am glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay as well as the amenities around the hotel. While we do not serve a complimentary breakfast we do offer deals to our hotel guests. This is for a full and made to order breakfast so you can make sure to start your day off right.

We make a point of staying at the Best Western Hotels, providing one is in the area. We have always had incredible service, comfortable rooms, nicely appointed suites. I travel for medical frequently and they always endeavor to accommodate our needs and requests. This is so appreciated. Thank you for the excellent service!

Thank you for the review. We know how medical trips can be and we do our best to put our guest's minds at ease when they have other things to be worrying about. Your continued patronage means a lot to us and hopefully our service has helped during your medical procedures.

We had an appointment at the Royal Alex and booked here because of the convenience. We are so happy we decided to stay here. The hotel is clean and updated, the room was booked for 2 nights but we only needed it for 1night and the staff accommodated us willingly. Then we tried the Runway 29 restaurant. The steak sandwich with home cut cactus fries, homemade ranch and aioli sauce were out of this world. If you like butter chicken you must have it here, to die for. I highly recommend this Best Western to anyone.

Thank you for you review. Those Cactus Cut potatoes in the Runway 29 are delicious! My personal favourite is the Clubhouse Wrap. We do our best to help people out when they are in town for medical reasons. For most reservations we can refund or cancel your room if you check out by our regular, 11 am, checkout time.

Staff are always helpful. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Have stayed here many times and have never been disappointed with anything. Close to Kingsway mall and not too far from other places of interest

I must write this quickly as the internet has been patchy and often disconnects. I was discouraged to find someone else's hair in the shower prior to me using it and being informed that breakfast was not included in the price of the room. I paid for the superior suite with a whirlpool and this stay has not proven to be worthy of the price. I genuinely would not recommend this hotel. The bed is very hard... certainly not the 'pillow top' mattress one would expect. Might as well be sleeping on the floor.

Thank you for your response. I will let our housekeeping manager know right away about the hair. I am sorry it was left behind and we will be taking the steps to make sure no one else has the same experience. If you are having issues with the internet please contact the Front Desk. We pay a lot of money to make sure our internet does not have these issues. If Front Desk cannot help you we have 24 hour tech support to make sure we can find a solution. As for the beds I assure you they are all pillow top mattresses. I will have our maintenance team take a look at the bed to ensure it isn't damaged. Mattresses and pillows are always a funny thing because every guest has their own unique sense of comfort. I hope there's a way to encourage you to give us another chance so we can earn your recommendation.

The staff were so friendly and the room was quiet and clean. We stayed only one night so did not use the pool this time. Have stayed before at this hotel and the pool was great. The check in and check out were fast and efficient.

We always stay at this location. The staff are awesome and the rooms are always very clean. You will never be disappointed if you stay here! We have stayed at other locations and have not been as happy as we were with this location. Wilson and Douglas were especially helpful and friendly.
