Really enjoyed our stay. This is the fourth time we stayed here and every visit has been great. Glad a room came available as it was originally sold out for the dates we stayed. Pet friendly and very accommodating with dogs. They've added gluten free options for breakfast including a cereal and bread which is terrific. Best part is the great staff!!
Last second walking in, I desired a ground floor room with the door facing the parking lot. The front desk attendant went out of her way to find me a room on a relatively full night. Then she gave me a nice welcome bag with water and a small cache of snacks. Room was clean hd orderly. Great experience
My family and I spent a few days at Best Western Danville while visiting family for Thanksgiving. This was my first time staying at a Best Western, so I really wasn't sure what to expect. But, I can say that we all were very satisfied with our stay here. The room was clean, beds were comfortable, and the shower had decent water pressure. We only ate breakfast one of the days but I was very satisfied with their selection. The staff working up front were always friendly and greeted us as we came and left the hotel. All in all, I would highly recommend staying here if you need lodging in the area.
The room is clean, plenty big, with decent showers! (None of that drip drip drip crud that just ruins your morning!). The area felt safe. Parking was convenient and pretty easy. What really stood out though was the staff at the front. I was in a huge rush due to business meetings and exhausted and the staff was delightfully pleasant and recognized what I was going through and did several smaller things that were absolutely huge to me!!! First, I told the woman at the front I was checking in and was going to leave early the next morning. (Before 6am.). She offered to have a to go breakfast for me ready to grab and go, and holy crud, did that save me!!! I was able to drive home without stopping BECAUSE of that little kindness and thoughtfulness. Also, when I checked out the gal offered me a water for the road, and that was just another touch that made a huge difference in my trip! That extra bottle of water and the breakfast meant I could drive straight home, and not need to stop for food. That meant I was able to beat traffic and made all the difference. I really appreciated those small things which were icing on the cake of the front office service and positive attitude. I started the review with the room, because if the room isn't clean or too small or uncomfortable, the area isn't safe, then the hotel just doesn't work for me. Period. Those things were there and met my expectations. What made it memorable though, was the extra effort made by the front office staff. I would happily recommend the hotel to anyone who is doing budget conscious business travel.
I was pleasantly surprised about how nice this Best Western was! I stayed here for a week for work in November 2024. The rooms were big and the bed was comfortable. The cleaning crew came and thoroughly cleaned my room every day! The staff was friendly and accommodating. The location is less than a mile away from all the cute shops and restaurants in Danville so I did a lot of walking which was nice.
Dirty rooms with disgusting carpet and dirty bathroom floors. Breakfast was awful. The only good thing about this place was the Black Bear restaurant attached to it, next door. This hotel is in need of a renovation. It was expensive ($680 USD) to stay here for 4 nights. I expected it to be a lot cleaner etc., for that price!
Slept like a baby, bed and pillows were wonderful. Loved all the friendly staff who I spoke to at the hotel. Loved the Andes Mints provided throughout the stay too!! Breakfast was fantastic!! My all time favorites are the Waffles and Biscuits and Gravy. Thank you for all the extra amenities to make are stay so enjoyable.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. We traveled with our two dogs. So we stayed in a pet friendly room. Rooms were very clean with no evidence of any pets had stayed there. Staff checked in via text to see if we needed anything. Nice touch! Great experience! Also Big Bear Diner is next to hotel.
I've stayed here a couple of times. Nothing fancy but I've found it enjoyable and convenient. Front desk is very courteous and helpful. I like that they have hot water available throughout the day on the first floor, right outside the morning breakfast area. Was particularly surprised by the good job the cleaning crew does. I've found my room to be very clean both times I've stayed here, cleaner than some hotels that are far more expensive.
We spent two nights in this very nice older, but renovated and refurbished, hotel along 680 freeway in a very nice little east bay community of Danville, California. Has a very adequate breakfast included, or for more substantial fare, on your own dime, a Black Bear Diner connected in the front of the building. Very comfortable two queen beds, clean and modern interiors; small but adequate bathroom facilities. Pet friendly. Our dog loved the trip along with us. A very cute fenced-in doggie duty station ( a converted parking space covered with gravel complete with chairs, doggy poop bags and refuse container). Even though our room faced the freeway approximately 50 - 100 feet away, the room was remarkably quiet. And, did not hear a single sound from any of the rooms adjoining or above ours. Microwave and coffee maker in room with adequate supply of coffee pods, teas, and additives. At first, could not get the coffee maker to work and thought some prior reviews about outlets not working were correct, but just reset the GFI at the bathroom sink and all worked well. Hotel desk staff is very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be staying here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Danville, Alamo or the surrounding area. Danville and Alamo pride themselves on being pet-friendly and bike-friendly.
The carpeting on the floor of the room was filthy. The white socks I had on were black in the bottom. The manager said the carpets had been cleaned recently but she obviously had not checked. I would not recommend staying here. It was not sanitary.
Absolutely fantastic rooms very comfortable and spotless. The people who work there were the best part of my stay everyone was so warm and welcoming. I spoke to one of the employees for awhile I want to say his name was Rich (Filipino gentleman)a true gentleman who went above and beyond to see I enjoyed my stay. The swimming pool was such an added bonus it was well maintained and clean the temperature of the water was perfect and wasn't full of chemicals. I definitely would stay here again if I'm in the area. 5 Stars across the board. Thank you
The staff I encountered were very pleasant and professional. The room was very nice I thought, everything was fully stocked. The parking was well lit and when leaving in the early hours of the morning I saw security physically doing a walk around the parking area! Being a female and seeing that made me feel safe.
I experienced one of the most COMFORTABLE beds I have ever slept in!! The breakfasts were great, good quality & very tasty, and the staff was all super friendly & helpful. I would stay there again any time I returned to that area!
The staff is awesome and so is the accommodation's. I recommend this hotel. They gave me a pass for the gym and there is a ton of restaurants nearby. The price is well worth the stay. I would stay here again if I have a need in this area to stay. There is a pool and the breakfast was hot and great!
I came to stay in Danville with some friends to go to a concert. I originally booked this stay through expedia, but on the day I was checking in, the Danville Best Western called me. They assisted me with becoming a rewards member and helped cancel my Expedia trip to book with them specifically, and this ended up saving me about $150. The room was very clean and cold (perfect) and the service was wonderful. I highly recommend coming to stay here!!
We love Best Western, good breakfast available and nice staff. It's right off the 680 freeway and close to so many restaurants and shops! Danville downtown is so nice to walk around.
I lived onsite when upgrades and other work was previously done on my home. This time I decided to not repeat that experience. This Best Western location suited my needs very well. The front desk staff is friendly, helpful and accommodating. The maintenance and cleaning staff are very efficient. The rooms are kept clean, and have a refrigerator, large screen TV and microwave. The bed is comfortable. The bathroom has a tub and shower with a vanity area, There are several dining and retail venues within Danville and more are just a few miles away in Alamo. A Starbucks is directly across from this Best Western location. A Black Bear Diner is adjacent to this Best Western location. There is easy access to Highway 680 North and South. Overall, a fine place to stay when your home is having repairs or renovations done that requires an extended schedule to complete.
Unfortunately, I got charged half day. I was in the middle of a move and only slept there for one night being that it was five minutes away from the house that I'm moving out of. Then my car battery died and the front desk decided to charge me half a day at the weekend rate, instead of the nightly rate I was paying. For a Singlemom that already had been taken advantage of from pods, movers and other people and have lived in Danville since I was in third grade it was disappointing. Plus, I've been in the hospitality industry for over 20 years working from the front desk to Director of sales and I would not have charged my guests under the conditions if they were going through the same thing. My main chain was always corporate. Marriott and I think the training and the way we treat our guests is with more empathy. This is only the second time in my life I've stayed at the best Western. And it was only because it was close to my house in between my move. I had another reservation at a Best Western in Brentwood, but canceled it and found a room at half the price, not the same amenities, but the room was remodeled, and it worked well enough for my needs. I understand that they need to flip the rooms. But having cleaned rooms myself with my own team, it doesn't take that long and I'm a very clean guest, so the only other caveat I have to say is Danville doesn't have a lot of tourism. We are sleepy farm town or at least we were until everybody else moved in. The best Western is the only hotel that I can think of that exists in Danville. But there's bigger cities such as Walnut Creek and San Ramon that have Marriott and Sonesta.
The staff is the main reason why I stay here for business. From the front desk to housekeeping, everyone is friendly & sincerely helpful. The free breakfast is also really nice and is changed up daily. The location is great as well. Shopping, groceries, restaurants, highway, etc.
Very clean. No ick factor. Spacious. Reading chair was more comfortable than most. Friendly people at the front desk. Breakfast better than most BW (eggs, sausage and potatoes Saturday, cheese and pepper egg, bacon and Sunday) along with the standard bagels, yogurt, juice…
The registration person was delightful and very helpful. The full break was excellent. The eggs were fluffy and light. The bacon was crispy and perfectly done. The room was clean and smelled clean also. The place is safe and security cameras were everywhere.
I had a last minute business trip and found this hotel. Nice small property, clean and spacious rooms. The staff was attentive and polite. The breakfast buffet had many options, happy to see that there was turkey sausage.
Great place to stay while visiting relatives. Close to freeway and shopping. Very courteous staff. Rooms clean and amenities offered were suitable. Television works well and provides a variety of channels.
We stayed in hotels all over the world including 5 Star hotels. This Best Western was the cleanest, neatest and kept up better than any of them all. The staff was friendly and wonderful and breakfast was great!
Wonderful service, the staff are great, always helpful and doing it with a smile. Love the breakfast, great variety, always something fir everyone. Coffee is the best. Rooms are always clean and comfortable.
We have stayed overnight at this hotel every December for about 7 years, and have always found it to be clean, and the employees to be very pleasant. The breakfasts are very tasty, with many options. Once we started staying there, others who were attending the same event started staying there too, and they all enjoy it.
Well run hotel with a very good staff attitude. We enjoyed our stay. While it's an older hotel, it is in good condition. The location is also very good for visiting Danville. The breakfast could use a little work as the food wasn't always warm. The selections were good. A gluten-free cereal option, such as Cheerios, would also be recommended. We would definitely stay here again.
The front desk people were very professional and accomodated my daughter to stay while she works in the Bay area. Antoinette was the worker that handled everything for my famly and was very helpful with everything.
This Best Western is the best one I have ever stayed in. Decor is beautiful. Menu for breakfast is displayed for the week. Bilal at the front desk was friendly, and so helpful. We needed spoons and he got them for us.
Pati at the front desk was wonderful. Th other woman whi checked us in was geat, too, don't remember her name. Hotel was quiet. Breakfast was very good. Pillows nice. Spacious clean room. Thank you.
We chose to stay here on our visit to Berkeley because we wanted an affordable accommodation in a safer and quieter place and this place was great for that. Our room was on the first floor. It had a balcony but faced the road so we didn't use it. The room itself was comfortable and sufficient for our one night stay. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was complimentary so that was nice. The selection and quality was just okay though. We did find a very nice walking trail called Iron Horse Regional Trail that is walking distance from the hotel that takes you to some restaurants and shops. It made for a nice morning walk. I am glad we stayed here.
First the positives. The staff was very nice. The beds are comfortable, free Tesla chargers, and the hotel is (mostly) clean. The negatives...our room had no smoke detector, just a bundle of wires hanging from the ceiling where it should be. The bathroom appears to have mold on the ceiling over the shower. But the worst part is there were lots of people (at least 8 to 10) staying at the hotel that were hanging out in the parking lot until late in the evening drinking and smoking. My wife never felt comfortable due to this. So if that group (apparently they are staying long term) is not there then it is a good night's sleep.
The hotel has quiet rooms, a clean environment, plenty of parking near rooms, and friendly staff. This is the only place I could find in Danville, and I'm glad it turned out to be a great place to stay. I will happily book here again and again.
Family trip to visit friends & attend a wedding. From my initial phone call to secure a hotel room, to arrival & checkout, we had a great experience! Staff are exceptional - very helpful & attentive. Breakfast was delightful, with healthy options, a clean & inviting dining area, with staff on hand to help if needed. I would definitely recommend this hotel!
Terrific staff, courteous and very helpful - especially Bilal (hope the spelling correct) at front desk. Room fresh, clean, quiet and nice fridge and microwave too. Daily breakfast really good, coffee excellent, kitchen staff wonderful. Nice work Team Best Western Danville!
It's lonely as a travel nurse. The front desk staff befriended me and welcomed me every evening and greeted me every morning . As a nurse I'm a clean freak. I looked for dirt. There was no lint, dust, crumbles or dirt. NONE I loved this! Way to go cleaning staff
Clean and comfortable rooms with easy access off the freeway. In addition, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Having the Black Bear Diner on the property, and a gas station, added value to our stay. That said, I really wanted to give this place five stars but there were a few drawbacks such as no elevators, no automatic daily room cleaning, no hair drawer, and a somewhat confusing floor plan. But these were minor inconveniences when weighed against the property overall. We would definitely stay here again.
Booked this reservation and inadvertently double booked. The staff caught my error, contacted me and made the correction. Wife is handicapped. Got in a ground floor room and absolutely took outstanding care of us. I have stayed in Best Western Hotels throughout the United States and this hotel is by far the best. The staff are the most helpful and caring I have ever experienced.
Great service, clean rooms and great breakfast. I reminded of an expensive European Hotel. The breakfast staff were very helpful with folks like us that don't get around easily. Great food at breakfast!
Staff was very helpful and friendly. Wish it was a tad cheaper so I could keep staying there. Temporarily staying there while finding new living quarters. Breakfast in the morning was excellent , Black Bear diner next door makes for easy walk to lunch/dinner. Plus discount for hotel guests.
Excellent Location. Excellent, accommodating staff as well as an excellent daily breakfast. This hotel is conveniently located in the Tri Valley Area. Easy access to I680. Well done B/W Sycamore Inn Danville, CA.
Needed a place to stay that was reasonable on the pocket book. This hotel provided all the amenities. Most important for us was the comfort of the bed and cleanliness of our room. Front desk was efficient and for those who want something more than the free breakfast…there is a diner next door.
The hotel was nice and I had a peaceful evening. I was on the top floor and could hear the rain during the early am hours. A little bit of a glitch checking in, my prepaid reservations wasn't in their system. Thanks to Gizella, at the front desk, I was able to check in for a lower rate than booked. I will contact the booking vendor regarding the reservation glitch.
This is an older hotel, but very quiet, and clean. The room was large and comfortable. The furniture in the room has all been updated. The breakfast had plenty of variety. There is a Black Bear Diner on the property which is nice.
Whenever in the area we look forward to staying at the Best Western Danville Sycamore Inn. On every visit, our room has been clean, quiet, and well maintained. We look forward to the excellent hot breakfast and great coffee that is included in the price of the room. The staff has invariably been welcoming and accommodating. Several highly rated eateries are within walking distance. Access to and from Highway 680 in both directions is right around the corner. Compared with more expensive motels and hotels in which we've stayed in the area, this place has them all beat.
This motel is across the street from great dining (we ate at Esin, Mediterranean), we had a lovely, comfy, quiet sleep, and an awesome breakfast. We will stay here again when our business brings us back in town!
We chose this hotel to attend a wedding as there aren't many to choose from in Danville. We stay in Best Westerns quite a bit, and this one was well kept for an older Best Western property. The staff was friendly. Breakfast was pretty average. Overall a good place to sleep if you are in Danville.
Very nice stay at Best Western Danville Sycamore Inn. Went with my wife to a 60th birthday party/college reunion in Danville at a friend's house. Convenient location with a very, very good Black Bear Diner next door. Food at this Black Diner was excellent and service was superb. This Black Bear Diner was exceptional. Room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. Had all the amenities we needed, with a nice breakfast available in the morning. Friendly staff, happy to assist in any way. I'm very happy to recommend this hotel to anyone needing a nice hotel at a reasonable price.
Great service by desk service Michelle. Room was clean and available sooner than expected. Will stay again n my next business trip. Will also refer to other friends and family. Room was also affordable.
We stayed with a large group, many of whom were hesitant to stay at a Best Western. Rooms were clean, staff friendly and helpful, large selection for breakfast. Also location next to mini mart, Starbucks , restaurants and the Iron Horse trail were a bonus.
The room was clean and comfortable. Close to lots if great restaurants. Easy to get to. Great breakfasts. Close to gas station. Staff wad great, if you need extras they would get them to you right away. The pool area and parking area seemed to be very well kept up.
Very quiet and clean hotel in lovely Danville. The staff was wonderful from check in/out to breakfast staff to housekeeping. Great shower and pillows too. The coffee was nice and robust too, better than SB. Hey, the small things matter! Thanks for the hospitality!
What a clean perfect reasonable cost place to stay! The greeting was kind. Directions to the room precise. Easy and clean and sheets were so nice to sleep in. Definitely stay here. Plus all best westerns are owned by real people who care…. Not corporations with shareholders
Jo, Thanks for going above and beyond looking for a flash drive i thought I'd lost. Sorry for the trouble, appreciated the effort. In addition hotel staff were pleasant, room was clean and quiet, breakfast ok, rates good. Gayle- San Diego
We just needed a place to stay for a Celebration of Life, this place was great. The really nice thing, we were also there on our wedding anniversary and there is a GREAT restaurant across the street where we celebrated.
Friendly staff. Hot delicious bfast and the kitchen staff were hard working. Rooms had blackout curtains, comfy bed. The only problem is pool was not open due to Covid. But its clean and the surroundings have pretty foliage and plants everywhere.
Great breakfast included, no surcharge for kids, two queens sized family beds with lots of room to spare, if there were more onsite facilities this would be 4 stars, recently renovated, fresh coffee available 24/7, great value. Special mention to the staff who were all exceptionally courteous and professional.
It was clean and I had a place to sleep. The staff is so-so and the ice machine upstairs rarely works but overall it's a nice stay! I recommend calling multiple times before your reservation to confirm everything. I was randomly moved to a double queen suite (which ended up working out perfectly) but it was odd! Also had to hound the front desk to make sure house keeping did NOT entire my room until check out because they would knock multiple times before I was due out and it was quite frustrating.
Great staff, everyone was so nice, freeway close, clean and inexpensive! I thought it was a great value, and we enjoyed our stay. Keep it simple and it works well. All our requests were granted and it was a smooth and nice stay.
I have stayed at many hotels all over the US, this hotel by far exceeds all of them. All of the staff was very nice, hot breakfast in the mornings were delicious. Egg Omelets, bacon, sausage, homefeies, pancakes or waffles. Fresh coffee was made at 5am every morning in the hallway. The rooms were spotless, the wifi worked great and the beds were super comfy. . Ed who worked the night shift always greeted with a smile (behind his mask). The Danville area is great and your close to everything but away from the cities. Black bear diner next door has good food too.
The exterior of this hotel is extremely inviting and the website boasts great reviews. That's where the positive factors ended with this location. Our room was next to the smoking bench and ashtray so we smelled that for two days. The bathtub wouldn't drain properly. The guest next door appeared to be homeless and was selling drugs out of his room at 3am. I was greatly disappointed and would not choose to stay at this location again if given the choice.
Nothing fancy, decor was aged, but CLEAN, small rooms. Adequate parking and a coffee shop attached although the free breakfast was decent. Great for 1 or 2 nights. Good location, near restaurants and freeway.
I've stayed here several times over the past year and found it a great respite from the road. The rooms are quiet, the beds comfortable and the breakfasts satisfying. The front desk reasons are always welcoming, and even after a single visit I found that I was recognized and greeted by virtually everyone upon making a return stay.
The hotel was clean and well kept. Staff were easy to get a hold of and maintained strict COVID rules. The included breakfast was excellent with many choices, more than a typical grab and go. Check-in and out was quick and efficient. Hotel was convuently located near freeway for easy access. Dog friendly for those with fur babies.
Excellent staff who go out of their way to make you feel welcome and appreciated. Clean, comfortable rooms, good breakfast. Great location, convenient for business or vacation. Happy to recommend and will always stay here.
Clean and comfortable which is always a plus. Front desk helpful with late check out due to storm. Full breakfast available until 10am. Pet friendly fee is just $20/night which is very affordable compared to the big chains for just one night.
Nice quiet location tucked back away — but right off a main Fwy for easy access— very convenient. We stayed here 4 nights & The rooms were spacious and staff very helpful and friendly. Nice hot breakfast available every day. When I asked for our room to be serviced, it was done very nicely- always looked clean, tidy and everything was replenished again. Right next to a Diner and gas station/ convenience store. Easy parking and no issues with WiFi. Made our stay very comfortable.
This is the best of what you expect from a Best Western. Excellent, competent and caring staff, super clean, hot breakfast and a convenient location. We will definitely stay again when we're in town to visit the Blackhawk Museum.
we stayed at this hotel because we came in for a wedding and this is the hotel the hosts blocked for out of town guests. it is not the type of hotel that i would have chosen but it worked well and was close to everywhere we needed to go. upon checkin, the hotel key maker was not working so we had to leave and come back. when we came back we had to be escorted to our rooms to be let in by a master key but we were given keys by the end of the evening. sometimes we had to get new keys throughout our stay because ours stopped working. the staff did all they could to keep us happy during this difficulty that was out of their control. it is only 2 story but there is no elevator, which makes it difficult to get a lot of luggage up and down the stairs. luckily, a hotel staff person helped us out. my husband enjoyed the breakfast but i did not eat there much. i am a picky eater and i just did not like the type of omelets and pancakes that they made on the mornings i tried to eat there. i tried their instant oatmeal but i could not get it to cook with the hot water. i ended up at starbucks right across the street, which i did not mind at all. the rooms were big. everything else worked. there was a microwave and refrigerator in the room. the room was clean and the bed was comfortable.
This hotel was affordable and well managed. It is close to the highway for easy on and off access. It is also close to a bike/walking trail that went on for miles. There are restaurants in walking distance. Breakfast is included in your stay and was good.
Although the Danville Best Western has been operating for many years, it's been kept up-to-date and is very well maintained. Our room was clean, quiet, and trouble-free. Internet access worked flawlessly. The breakfast buffet was excellent and patio seating was made available. The staff was friendly, courteous, professional, and very accommodating. There's an excellent restaurant next door that serves lunch and dinner.
This place is great for a weekend getaway. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The amenities were great. They made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in the door. My spouse and I enjoyed our stay here
Best Westerns always exceed my expectations. The rooms are clean, cozy and uo to date. My room had a very large fridge and a microwave, coffee pot with a generous amount of tea and coffee. There was a hair dryer and ironing board available as well. This location has a dog park and a spa. It's extremely quiet and there is a nice breakfast in the morning.
while the location was convenient, the value for accommodations was unimpressive. Room was clean but musty, breakfast was very bland, pool was closed and the ice maker did not work. Staff text arrival and check in questions but did not respond to issues brought to their attention. It was hot summer and no prior notice the pool was out of service
This hotel is a great option when staying in the east bay. Our room was clean and well appointed with everything we might need, including a coffee maker, a decent sized refrigerator and a microwave. A full breakfast buffet was served when we were there; eggs, pancakes, a waffle maker, cereal, pastries, and good coffee - very nice! The hotel is fairly close to downtown Danville, a charming area with many excellent restaurants. If you feel like walking, the Iron Horse trail is nearby. The trail is a great option for accessing downtown Danville by foot; it's about a 15 minute walk. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay!
Really nice well maintained motel. Updated and modern. Clean. Staff incredibly friendly. Spacious rooms with a safe. Great breakfast. We had two rooms for just one night. Easy access to highway and to downtown Danville. Exceeded my expectations.
This hotel is right at the heart of Danville making services and restaurants very accessible. Our house is under construction so we stay for extended periods. It's like a vacation! The staff and always willing to help and everyone is very friendly.
Truly enjoyed this stay! My daughter gifted me for Mother's Day and it was like being on vacation! Have not traveled during the pandemic and it was really great!! Close to family and close to Black Bear!
Hotel has been freshened up and maintained. Bed and chair in room. TV, internet operational. Shower had great pressure and hot water. Room was clean with comfy bed. Area seemed safe with food, gas and shopping in walking distance.
Spent one night while on the road. I had requested a quiet room; at check-in the front desk staff seemed to be attentive to my preferences and and gave me a couple of choices. The room was indeed quiet, clean and spacious. Room amenities included coffee maker, fridge and microwave. Comfortable bed, slightly less so the pillows. Desk area with convenient power jacks. Bathroom with everything in working order. Standard toiletries. Good water pressure in the shower. Wifi worked well. Breakfast boxes provided in the lobby. Easy parking.
Every interaction I've had with this person has been bitter. This person lacks the good demeanor and pleasant attitude that you should have for this type of job. She has been rude over the phone and in person. Thankfully she wasn't there to check me in this last time I visited.
I would definitely recommend this Hotel as it is close to everything and the staff is very nice. The rooms are spacious and well maintained. The ease of check in and check out are streamlined and they are very gracious to accommodate a late check out.
I was concerned that there would be freeway noise, due to the location. I could hear none from my room. The hotel itself was quiet. Not sure if that is due to Covid or is normal. Most uncomfortable bed ever. That alone would keep me from staying here again. BTW, I am not high maintenance. The to-go bfast was a joke, don't bother.
This is a better than average stop for a traveler looking for a a few nights to rest and relax while on the road. Clean and comfortable rooms, well maintained surroundings, and based upon my experience a cheerful and accommodating “front desk” this is a great choice for anyone looking to put their feet up for a few nights...or longer.
It was good, but there are some things that need to be taken into account: 1. The bathroom was not cleaned properly: there were dark stains on the tub surround which you could spot with the naked eye. Also, the floor had not been properly cleaned (there were still remnants from the room's previous occupant(s)). There was also heavy streaking on the mirrors as well. 2. In regards to the property's COVID response on removing "shared" materials in the lobby, does that not also include the guest rooms? There was no "Do Not Disturb" placard for the room, but there were for others. Also, would the Bibles in the nightstands not be considered "shared" material? Wouldn't these overall materials spread the virus even more? 3. The A/C unit in the room, while working like a charm, was rather noisy and kept me up half the night. Aside from all that, the hotel is conveniently right off the freeway on the northbound side, and the Black Bear Diner next door was delicious.
Patio options are available, for an extra fee this location is pet friendly, and the internet is available but very limited. During quarantine, masks are required to walk through the hallways and parking lot.
Easy to access from frontage road or highway, restaurants nearby. Inside rooms were quiet, beds very comfortable. Front desk helpful and internet was indeed fast. I would book here again in a heartbeat
I stay in a lot of Best Western motels. One of my favorites, very clean, nice garden area, great staff. Easy checkin, easy check out, centrally located, easy access to Oakland. Best Western has the best rewards program.
Best western provides consistent quality, no exception here. Room was clean, staff was friendly, location was convenient, bed was comfortable, there was a fridge, ice, dolly available. This is all I require and it was all provided.
We stay here every year for a Christmas party we attend. The number of attendees at this party who stay here has increased, year by year. Everyone finds it very convenient, clean, & quiet. Most take advantage of the varied breakfast offerings, though the room is a little small. We were upgraded to a patio room, which would be nice in Summer. Shopping & dining are close by.
I travel through the East Bay several times a year. When in the vicinity of Concord/San Ramon, Interstate 680/Interstate 580 intersection area I stay at the Best Western in Danville. Great staff, rooms are very nice with fridge/Micro and the WiFi works well. Easy on and off the highway and a Black Bear Diner next door as well as several restaurants across the street. I can park the car and don't have to get back in until the next morning.
BW is in a great location next to restuarant, gas station, fine dining, grocery and drug store. Is close to downtown Danville. Work with the staff to get best rate. I highly recommend it. They provide the incidentals forgotten to guests "gratis". Friendly, happy, smiling faces are a pleasure after a long trip.
Great decision to stay at the BW in Danville. Friendly staff, clean rooms, easy on/off I-680. It was easy to find, each morning I enjoyed their breakfast - close to Danville's small downtown area & just two or three exits from where I wants to be in Pleasanton, San Ramon and Walnut Creek.
Wasn't able to book my normal hotel in the San Ramon area and was pleasantly surprised to find this hotel a few miles away for a great price. It was so convenient that you can take surface streets to the San Ramon Bishop Ranch business area and avoid the heavy commute traffic.
Enjoyed the convenience and quality, friendly staff. I have stayed her multiple times to visit family. This last visit was somewhat sad due to the passing of my father but the hotel experience was wonderful and welcoming.
Printer in lobby did not connect. Air conditioning was extremely noisy and did not maintain a cool temperature. The WIFI was spotty and did not always connect. The breakfast was horrible; always cold and soggy.
Appreciated the convenience of this location. There is a Black Bear Diner on the property, but we opted to visit the shopping/restaurant center across the street. Easy to get to/from the freeway. The staff was friendly and efficient. The room was clean and comfortable.
This is a very nice area of the East Bay. We had a wedding to attend in San Francisco, but did not wish to deal with the issues of the city, nor the crazy prices. We felt safe here, had a good night's sleep and a decent breakfast. We used to live in this area and it was nice to be near some of our favorite places to eat (including Cafe Esin just across the street) and shops nearby.
This is my favorite place to stay when I am in Danville. Even though it is right on 680 it is quiet. The staff is always friendly and the rooms are clean. A full breakfast is served or you can do a continental breakfast; and the coffee is good, hot and plentiful. Don't hesitate to book here.
We requested a quiet room and were given a very quiet attractive room. The included breakfast exceeded expectations for a hotel in this price range. A pleasant surprise was included electric car charging, although staff had a hard time making it work.
From the moment I came into the lobby to check in, I was greeted warmly. The staff is very friendly. The rooms are very quiet, even mine that faced the freeway! The hotel is hidden behind the Black Bear Diner so there is no traffic other than other guests. I always leave for work too early to partake of breakfast so I can't comment on that. Other than that, I have no complaints and enjoyed my stay. Oh...and they have my favorite TV channel: TCM!
We will be staying at this hotel next time we are in this area. Very nice, clean, friendly, helpful, great breakfast, 10% off at BBD next door, nice area. And a comfortable bed to sleep in!! Internet was super fast as well! Glad we stayed here!!
The receptionist Veronica is very arrogant. I made a reservation and tried to cancel it right away but I could not, the next day I was charged as if I had taken the room, to which the lady said she would not return my money and keep it. I worked for 2 years in this hotel and that lady knows who I am does not allow her to treat me as a former worker but with the respect of a guest. I deserved a testimony and didn't give it to me.I am a guest and Mrs. Veronica treated me very badly.
my wife and stayed here in Danville ca last Sunday the 18th of August. Wonderful customer service, would stay there again anytime. The room is so nice, quiet, and the front desk are so nice and helpful. Will be real soon..
This property is in wonderful shape. my room was in the garden area, beautifully landscaped. The young ladies at front desk were so friendly, in fact everyone was friendly. This Best Western serves Seattle's Best coffee and most BW do not. I love BW's rewards program, I seem to get more free rooms faster than any other program plus they allow pets in some rooms
Stayed in the Danville area in late July. The hotel tucked in a corner and very quiet. Lots of trees. Breakfast was great and the staff very friendly. Can't beat it in an area with very high hotel rates. And the internet worked!!
The front desk ladies were absolutely wonderful. The room was really clean and comfortable for two people. The shopping area across the street was great with restaurants and Starbucks. Downtown Danville is a 5 minute drive...so cute and fun to walk! If we are in the area again, we know where we will be staying.
This was a clean comfortable hotel. Kind of set up weird but made us feel safer from thieves with how it was set up. Room was small and bed was kind of uncomfortable but overall it was clean and comfortable.
Greatly disappointed with this as a Best Western. Had to wait 45 minutes to enter room although alerted them at 11 am that I'd return at 3 pm. That gave me less than 30 minutes to clean up and change for a 4:30 meeting. The bathroom lacked any shampoo or other toiletries and no glasses or cups to use for brushing teeth. Travels aren't always perfect but when the toilet seat almost bucked me off because it was loose---that was enough. The manager sent me a template apology via e mail (no phone call). They have no elevator and the second floor stairs might be a challenge to anyone with a cane or walker. As a seasoned traveler this is off my list and it was part of my Southwest Airline package.
I was in Danville for a fundraising dinner and chose to stay at the best Western because it was conveniently located to the Blackhawk Museum. For the price, it was what I had expected. The room was fairly large for one person, But the bath amenities were much smaller than usual. The remote control for the TV was not working and it was replaced within 15 minutes of me of the reporting of the issue. The front desk staff on both check in and check out were very friendly and helpful.
This Best Western had the nicest rooms, best breakfast and incredible efficient and accomodating staff! Was a wonderful stay and I'm glad I made it for ore than one night! We enjoyed a golf tournament and had at least 15 rooms filled with golfers. Breakfast was so good and there were restaurants for dinner within walking distance!
Conveniently located, value priced, and comfortable. The co-location with a Black Bear Diner is strategic and handy. Downsides are the lack of an elevator (not unique) and exterior room entrances for some rooms.
We left at 9;30 AM and returned at 8:45PM. The room was not cleaned ,the bed not made. After I reported this I had to ask for clean towels. This was for a room costing $200 a night with taxes.I find it absurd that you require my review to be at least 200 characters. i fail to see the purpose.
Very difficult to get to rooms. No elevator. Weird layout. Had to go in and out of several doors to another section of hotel to get to room. Most of the hotel has unsecured exterior doors. Safety is an issue.
I would give Best Western Danville a very good rating except one day out of three i had to ask for my room to be replenished of towels and coffee. some reason i was told most of the room staff called in sick. Only two were cleaning rooms. I asked one of the housekeeping guys if i could get clean towels and empty the garbage and replenish coffee. He took care of it right away as he was working the next room. Everything else was pretty good, breakfast was good, room was clean, nice location. Food at Black Bear restaurant was fair, not great service, and it was not even busy. I would stay at the hotel again.
Needed a room for my company holiday party. Worth the money not to get a D.U.I. Only live 30 mile from location.Room was clean, quiet and had good water pressure with hot water. Aragn shampoo and soap was a nice surprise. Will stay again next year when my company has its holiday party.
Family members had come for a funeral and the staff was very helpful, made sure we had all our needs met and extremely courteous. The room was spacious (both the double queen rooms and King Room). Maids were helpful and the rooms were clean. No smoking rooms have an interior corridor. This is nice since the evenings were very cool. The breakfast had lots of good choices, fresh fruit and more.
Stayed here for a couple of days. Well maintained property with a very friendly staff. Good internet connection. Lots of dining options available very close to property. The nicest Best Western that I have stay at that was not rated a Plus or Premier property,.
This motel is located right off of the freeway behind a black bear diner. It has friendly staff and on the weekend it has great breakfast. On Friday the choices were not as good and the food not as tasty. The checkin experience was not too bad however the checkout was a lot better experience. The rooms were nice and from the checking that I did this is the only motel that they even have in the city of Danville so unless you want to be further from your Danville activities you would have to stay here which is why they are probably more expensive than most Best westerns
We ask for a quite room and that is exactly what we got. The room was exceptionally clean and the front desk service was great. The internet was fast. The breakfast room was clean and the food was hot. The only thing that I didn't like was the tastless happy face potatoes, otherwise everything else was good.
Everyone is super nice and friendly, I really enjoy stay in this hotel. Breakfast is good. Front desk specially Veronica is super professional. Room is clean. Wi-Fi works very good. definitely I will stay aging.
This is a great hotel for anyone living or coming back to San Francisco airport. Only 60 mins from S FO. Great town to spend your first or last day. The rooms are very well equipped and have coffee maker fridge and are large and airy.
Great staff ..always polite and very helpful. Well you informed about the hotel and it's amenities. The housekeeping staff was always cordial and attentive. Restaurants and shopping are nearby and accessible..
I find them overpriced- don't get suckered into room near freeway. But it's almost the only game in town . Rooms are clean but old. Breakfast just mediocre. Get an inside room. Eat at Esin across the street
My friend and I stayed at this motel because of it's close proximity to the Iron Horse Trail. Check-in was seamless, and the desk clerk was cheerful. The room was clean, however the AC was excessively loud. We asked for someone to come to our room to check that out and that individual agreed that the noise was excessive and not conducive to sleep. She was quite professional and handled our concern efficiently, offering to either change our room or offer another accceptable adjustment. It was late plus we were hungry and tired from our day on the trail so we decided against packing up and changing rooms. I will be sure to book a garden view room next time because directly in front of the outer rooms the freeway traffic noise was loud and quite annoying. We found this place very expensive for what we felt were mediocre accomodations; for this area I understand that is to be expected.
Clean room, clean bathroom, friendly staff, good breakfast, clean linens, hallway smells good, very affordable! They honor government ID which help us save a lot during our stay in Northern California. Close to freeway, San Jose, and Walnut Creek where we need to go.
We stayed here for one night on a road trip; we just needed a place to stop for the night. Our room was clean, very comfortable, well decorated, and stocked with nice amenities (fridge, microwave, toiletries, etc.) The front desk staff was super friendly as was the lady running the breakfast. Breakfast, as usual with Best Western, was great! Eggs, waffles, blueberry stuffed pancakes, etc. The pool was small but heated and was tucked away from the road. It's conveniently located near the highway, right next to a diner (Black Bear Diner) and a gas station.
Your Danville hotel is really quite cozy! The inner atmosphere was pleasant. I liked the pool, even though it was small, at least there was a place to cool-off. Your staff made my stay truly nice as well as taking care of my needs roxie
I was not expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised to find knowledgable, great and friendly staff, Check in was efficient and easy. Had nice rooms with very comfortable bed, very nice amenities, and a delicious breakfast, included with out stay.
Facility is clean and like new-staff very pleasant-though close to freeway-rooms are perfectly quiet. Pricing cannot be better Stayed in local motels for double the price and half the quality Really there are no negatives
The staff were very accommodating. Unfortunately, they did not have a mountain view room when we arrived which we asked for and they did not offer an upgrade. The restaurant on premises is good, the Black Bear Diner. My only real complaint was the mattress was not very comfortable, even with a thin topper. We chose this location to be closer to relatives we were visiting. It is not convenient to either Oakland or San Francisco.
We spent a few nights here. The room was quiet and of adequate size. The bed was comfortable. There is a breakfast buffet, ample choices there. The breakfast room is small but we never had a problem with seating. Freeway and town close, a few more pluses. We would stay here again.
Friendly staff. I'm a fan of clean, basic functional rooms for quick business trips and I do use Best Western, but even with a free upgrade and a good walkable location, I expected a little better, especially for the room rate, relative to other options.
Great place to go and hike Mount Diablo , very friendly staff , clean room , nice extended continental breakfast. great value for the money we spend. Lots of Restaurants close by as well as a nice shopping center close by lots of free parking ,
I was traveling and don't usually stay at Best Western, but my colleague recommended it. When I first arrived, I learned the hotel didn't have an elevator. Not to worry, RIchard from the front desk offered to carry my 42 lb. suitcase up the steps to my room with a smile. The room was very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The staff was super friendly and helpful. An added plus was the Black Bear DIner just next door. Tasty comfort food with great prices and I was I could relax with a glass of wine. I would definitely return, this property was a stand-out!
We stayed here as we had a family function in Danville. Turned out it was within walking distance, so we walked. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was large, clean and comfortable, although the layout of the furniture was a bit strange. Additionally, our room seemed a bit noisy from the rooms around us.
This little hidden Best Western is right behind the newly built Black Bear Diner. Across the street are several restaurants, including Esin which has very delicious cuisine along with a nice bar. The room and property were immaculately clean. Check in and out easy. Easy parking and just 40 minutes to San Francisco.
Always feel welcome here. It is an older faculty that is well kept and bigger rooms. Close to everything and clean rooms and spacious rooms. The staff is excellent and very helpful. Thy are starting a remodel.
I travel to this area for business a few times each year. Most hotels are very expensive. For the price, this hotel has everything a business traveler will want/need. I have stayed in several hotel/motels in this price range in the Bay Area, and this is one of the best. Rooms are clean, bed is pretty comfortable and management is active in running the property. Even the breakfast was decent. If you need to spend the night on the 680 corridor and don't want to spend $400/night, this is a solid choice.
Had to make a business trip to Danville - read TripAdvisor & decided to book at the BW Sycamore Inn... glad I did. The price was competitive, the room was clean, quiet, & well-appointed, & the morning breakfast (which is included!) is more than the standard 'continental breakfast' fare. Heartily recommend this hotel if you're in need of a clean, quiet, affordable hotel close to the freeway.
I stay here for every business trip in the area (several times a year). The staff is very accommodating, helpful and friendly. The rooms are spotless. Even the breakfast is good. The location is perfect. You can walk to great restaurants or shopping. It is very close to multiple business parks.
The Best Western in Danville never disappoints. I stay here almost monthly for business and love the open air entry and the fact that I can open my window and look at the central garden to spy on hummingbirds and other small wildlife that visit. The pool is always well maintained and the breakfast selections are really great despite a smaller kitchen area. I will recommend this hotel over and over to anyone who has to visit Danville or the area.
This hotel is for the budget conscious traveler that is looking for a comfortable room to sleep. The room is large and has all the amenities one can ask. The highlight is the breakfast. Ample selection of food from waffles, fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, and so on. You start your day well.
Hotel was very well located near shopping areas and Iron Horse Trail. Room was clean with decent amenities. A/C was loud. No exterior room noise from other guests. We had top floor on the corner, which I'd recommend. Breakfast had plenty of selection and excellent coffee. Adequate parking. Overall a satisfactory stay with better prices for that area.
Upper end of mediocre. Numerous problems with room (bubbling carpet, paper thin walls, exterior door that streams light around the edges), but the beds were pretty good, so if you don't have issues falling asleep from light or noise, this could work for you.
Overall, if you need to stay in the Danville area, and compared to similar properties at the same price point, this long time only lodging facility within the Danville city limits does a fine job. Would love to see them expand the property at some point and put in a real pool and hot tub. Black Bear next door is always convenient during a work day for quality homestyle food. Very easy access to the Interstate for North & South travel with a new toll lane that is highly advised during rush hour traffic. Esin across the street is one of the best in the area for finer food and drink.
Picked this location because it is close to family, Danville is a great town and can get on the spendy side. Price for this hotel during our stay was why I picked it. Free breakfast included topped it off.
My experience with this hotel comes from 2 stays this year. The first week we stayed 2 nights. The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, the freeway did not keep me awake, and the morning breakfast was fantastic. (egg lovers: you will love the eggs). The next week, I needed another room for a day. I did not hesitate to book here, again. I not only enjoyed the amenities, the staff is the ultimate of excellent customer service. You'll think you're at a 5 star hotel. They are genuinely caring and helpful, and make you feel at home. I highly recommend this particular hotel.
The property is well located with Black Bear restaurant adjacent, retail services across the street. The property and building are very clean and well maintained. There is ample parking. The rooms are large, comfortable ,well equipped with refrigerator and microwave, night light in hair dryer, numerous convenient electrical outlets, and a rain shower head. The hot breakfast offers eggs, meat, breads, waffles, fresh fruit, dairy products. The price offers great value for the price paid.
Clean, comfortable and convenient to shopping and freeway. Very friendly staff. Nothing fancy, but good quality for the money. Great hot breakfast, and also has attached Black Bear Diner, as well as nearby restaurants.
The hotel staff is so friendly. Rooms very clean. Internet easy to use. Breakfast nice and filling including fresh fruit, yogurt & hot breakfast items. Absolutely satisfied with this stay. This is my 2nd time at this location and I would definitely stay again. It is also the best price in the area. Highly recommend!
I have stayed at this property several times over the last year, while travelling for business. I have always had a good experience and the value proposition is excellent when you compare the cost of this hotel to all the others surrounding. This is also in a very good location. Next to the freeway and several restaurants within 1 min to 3 minutes walking distance. The morning breakfast is included and for being a FREE breakfast, is more than adequate. All staff i encounter are friendly and helpful . Highly recommended.
Very accommodating and clean. Great location close to town. Close to great restaurants. Will definitely use this hotel again when visiting the area. Staff very pleasant. Nice breakfast and good coffee.
Here for a wedding. Had flowers shipped to hotel. Staff kept us informed. Service was great, friendly, neat, quick to serve. Parking for handicapped was very adequate. Could have improved handicapped room. Nice to have Black Bear right on grounds. Rooms were quiet. Our service dog had his own place on grounds to go to the bathroom
reasonably priced, good location for the San Ramon Valley, clean rooms, good friendly helpful staff, breakfast is good, offers a wide variety of choices, 24 hr coffee available, swimming pool, a good overall value
Good clean, well managed hotel. San Ramon rooms are very expensive ( I go 2x /mo) and this was less than half of others for better service. Friendly staff, good free hot breakfast. My new go-to in San Ramon.
One positive, they were kind enough to give us an early check in. Normally you are given bottles of water when checking in, nothing was offered and it was 105 degrees!!! We discovered the air conditioner was not working in our room. A girl came up said we could check into the room across the way but my husband had to go back down the stairs to get the key. The toilet was filled with some kind of black dirt. Also the next day we asked for a few extra towels and never got them. I wish there was another hotel closer to our grandkids.
I showed up to check in and there was a sign on the counter that someone would return after helping another guest. It was greatly appreciated instead of waiting impatiently for someone to reappear. My check in was speedy as this was a business trip. Internet is good, but still takes a good minute for pages to load, but this usually happens in public locations. The bed was very comfy, pillows are very plush, I prefer firmer pillows personally so I usually use 3 to sleep. The room was nice and cool upon entering which was nice as I was coming from a hot climate location.
They have turned the TV volumes so low that the TV is unusable. In order to hear it, you would have to sit on the edge of the bed. The guest can not adjust the volume above a whisper. This was very aggravating and we would not stay here again.
We have often stayed at a Best Western. I chose this one because it was close to the family reunion we were attending and it was among the least expensive. Room was fine although the window looked out at other windows. Front desk staff were personable and helpful. Breakfast was the usual although we had never seen prepared omelettes and blueberry stuffed pancakes offered in a buffet like this....very nice. However, breakfast room, to include outside patio, was very small and very tight. Pool area appeared to be an afterthought. I wouldn't stay here any longer than a night but one night was fine.
I stayed at this motel for business. My room had fleas in it. I was wearing shorts and I saw the fleas jump from the carpet onto my bare legs, and I came away with several bites. I would have asked for a different room, but I was already all unpacked and I just didn't want to deal with it. Now to give you some perspective about me, I have stayed at $5-10 a night rooms in southeast Asia. I am not some OCD snob. I realize you get what you pay for. At $150 a night in the bay area, I wasn't expecting a lavish 5 star hotel. However, I don't find fleas acceptable for $150 a night. I called the manager Curtis 2 days after my stay and requested a refund. It was denied. Basically he explained to me that he could not find any fleas in the room. To you, Traveller, I warn you. Pick a different hotel. Why take the risk? Maybe you don't get fleas, but if you get something bad, management will not provide you with decent customer service to mitigate your negative experience.
Room overall was acceptable. Breakfast was passable. Did not use Internet. Our car was broken into and I saw at least one other car with a broken window as well. Motel has no security cameras or security staff. No staff I spoke with about the incident seemed the least concerned with the fact vehicles were being burglarized and one staff member went so far as to laugh when I reported it to him. Other staff were rude and unprofessional in other areas as well. For example: two other guests and I were talking in the back of the motel near what I now suspect is a housekeeping room. Out of nowhere, two staff members started cleaning out what I now assume were the dryer vents on the outside of the building stirring up lint and debris all over the area, including all over us. This caused all of us to start coughing though the employees continued their labors. Naturally, we had to scatter in order to breathe again. Overall, my impression is that rather than view we guests as potential long-term clients, this motel and its staff view guests as one-night stands and treat us as such. Thus, the facility offers no incentives to encourage returning there like exceptional customer service or amenities. I have family in the area and visit several times a year but I would not stay here again – not even at half the rate.
Hotel staff was awesome, bed was very comfortable and pillows made me want to not get out of bed. The Breakfast lady who was working Saturday morning was the sweetest and most helpful I have ever came across. She was friendly, inviting, and was quick to get us anything we needed. More hotels need ladies like her. You can tell she loved her job.
Hotel was basic but clean and comfortable with very friendly and professional staff. Breakfast provided a variety of hot and cold offerings to start the day. Overall a convenient and comfortable stay!
This place worked out great for me!!! It was quiet and the room was wonderfully located in the middle of the complex.I found the staff to be very helpful and gave great room service!! I will come back to this property and stay longer.
Normally I'm a Hilton guest exclusively but all around we sold out. Thought I was "settling" with a subpar hotel for one night. Goodness, nice room with a refrigerator and up to date decor. All of staff was incredibly nice, from front desk to breakfast staff, often better than I get at other hotels. Impressed, I'd bring the family here if just needing a place to sleep. Thanks BW Danville
I've stayed here many times visiting family over the past 10+ years. It always pleases. Easy stay. Amenities very good. Very clean and the property is well maintained. Breakfast room is smallish but offerings are plentiful.
Right off Freeway 680 great location, clean rooms, friendly service. Great breakfast, Enjoyed my stay looking forward to returning on my next business trip. Great restaurants across the street. Shopping not far away...
Out from Chicago for a long weekend to visit family. This hotel was close to the family's home. Like Best Western's because they are all a little unique and you can tell the innkeepers take pride in their properties.
Best Western Danville is a good value. The rooms have been recently updated. Internet speeds are fast. The hotel met or exceeded all of my expectations. I'm a repeat guest. Nothing to complain about and that's a good thing.
I grew up in the Alamo-Danville area and it was nice to return for a quick visit. Our room was beautifully appointed and quiet. The staff was very friendly and breakfast was quite good. Danville has grown quite a bit since I left and it was nice to drive down "old 21" to see how much has changed. Will definitely plan to use the Danville Sycamore Inn as base on a future visit.
This was a relatively quick stay. I've stayed at best Western before when I canbecause the rooms are decent for the price and usually clean. Even though they include breakfast the only thing I could partake of on the special diet I'm in is eggs. They were not real eggs where were mixed and did not taste good. And for a vegetarian the potatoes were mixed in with beef. Other than that for my purpose the room was good for a decent price especially for and we are retired person. As for the food there's a diner attached to the hotel as an alternative to their breakfast.
Liked this place. Clean, well kept, quiet, and comfortable. I would stay here again. (<- That's my indicator of a good place.) The breakfast was tasty and the coffee hot and good. They even served turkey sausages. Yum!
Was a great experience the staff is very friendly and accomadating Rooms are clean and comfy. Prices get a little high on the weekdays but it's a very nice location with great customer service would definitely recommend.
I had to fly a crew of six to this area on a budget...this hotel was the only affordable option that looked safe. Pleasantly surprised by more than I expected: spacious clean rooms, updated decor including granite counters in the bathroom, comfy bedding, amenities. Lovely plantings along walkway give the place a nice California feel. Generous breakfast. Front desk staff very pleasant, courteous and helpful. Location excellent, quick access to the business districts nearby. Will be back.
Fine staff, breakfast is good and the amenities are ample. We travel often and stay at hotels we are familiar with and we have seldom had issues with any of the ones we stay with regularly...if bad we wouldn't be here!
The floor was more comfortable than the bed, the hallways were musty and smelt like mildew, the pool was out for everyone to see including the people in traffic on the freeway and the guests at the restaurant next door. And the half the staff really didn't care if they were helpful or not.
We have stayed here many times and the resent refreshing of the hotel has really made it feel almost new. We have alway been treated well and we travel with our Dog and they always welcome him as well. Now they have the Black Bear Diner attach which replaced Denny's and it is really an improvement. Give it a Try.
I recently stayed at this property for a 2 night business trip and I was pleasantly surprised. I usually stay at a Marriott but they were all sold out in the area so I decided to try this place. I can honestly say that I will stay here again. Check-in was a breeze and the room they gave me was clean and roomy. The bed was comfortable and even the TV remote was sanitized (see photos). Bathroom came with all amenities and the Wi-Fi worked flawlessly. Property is also conveniently located right off the freeway but once in the room you can't even tell because of how well it's insulated. I highly recommend this place.
Will always use this hotel! The staff are kind and helpful. The breakfast was excellent. The coffee was perfect. The rooms are great, quiet and clean. Anytime I have to travel to Danville, this is the hotel I will book.
Hotel is extremely dated. Live music from the restaurant directly across the street will prevent any reasonable hours of sleep. Remote control of tv did NOT work. Hallway to room and room smelled old and like stake cigarette smoke, although non smoking room was requested. Woke up to the overwhelming smell of marijuana. Guest in room directly below us was enjoying a marijuana joint on the patio of her room. The asthma flare up that my children experienced as a result of this incident, in my NON-smoking room, is beyond unsatisfactory!
Room was stuffy and could not get enough air flow. Bed was hard and not very comfortable. It was loud and made for tough sleeping, with road and people noise. Breakfast as minimal but there is a place for per waste and bags. There is also a small fenced patio for dogs. I wouldn't stay in this location again.
Everything about this Hotel is tops. The room, the beds, the pillows, the location, the appearance and above all the staff. And Danville is a lovely town. The proximity to Silicon Valley could also be of importance. Worth visiting!
Very well maintained and comfortable hotel. All amenities. Nice breakfast with lots of variety and ample seating. Everything works as it should ! Clean and quiet. Restaurant adjoins hotel. Highly recommend.
We loved the breakfasts and thought the room charges were very reasonable, considering we didn't have to leave the hotel and find a breakfast place. The quality of the breakfast items was excellent and it was obvious the person preparing them all was on the job and doing it very well. The room and the beds were very comfortable and the room's amenities were of high quality. Being located right off the freeway was also a benefit.
Friendly staff, nice clean rooms, good breakfast. From the time we checked in until we left we enjoyed our stay. Rooms seem to have been updated recently. Breakfast has numerous options and is varied each day! Staff was always friendly and helpful!
For the price point and the positive attitude of the personnel, it is the best value for the dollar when compared to alternatives and allows very easy access not just to the enjoyment of the Danville community , but the Tri Valley area and Walnut Creek communities as well for both business and pleasure.
Amenities not on site are next door or a block or two away, or are discounted or free, with consideration for AARP and government employees. The Bishop Ranch business park is only a mile away, with an enormous selection of stores, a deli, day spas, and more.
Great overall lodging conveniently located near my cousin's house in San Ramon and Oak Hill Park. Clean rooms, courteous staff, and adjacent to a Black Bear Diner. Could use some updating in room. Recommend to others looking for great value.
Hotel staff was friendly. The receptionist showed us where our rooms were located. Where we would find the breakfast hall in the morning. The breakfast by the way was delicious. I had eggs and ham with fresh fruit and my boyfriend had a waffle
Look I am an unabashed Best Western Guy. Period. This was my first stay at the Best Western in Danville. My daughter and I attended a San Jose Sharks game and after went to the hotel. The price was spot on. The hotel was clean, and just a very nice place. As we were driving to the hotel, my daughter asked if we could find a Black Bear Diner for breakfast. What was attached to the Best Western in Danville? A Black Bear Diner. Our stay there was very good. The staff very professional and friendly all rolled into one. Next time hockey is on the agenda, we will stay at the Danville Best Western. Everything about it was praise worthy.
Very quiet, comfortable clean room, breakfast ok 1st am, 2nd am the eggs (?) were like rubber, & the roasted potatoes were obviously not fresh! Waffle maker fine! The location good, right off a freeway, & parking was fine.
I traveled to Danville for business and enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The property was clean, safe and employees were very helpful and friendly. The hotel is within walking distance to restaurants and shopping. I will definitely stay here again!
No electricity no hot water. No emergency generator no offer to compensate customers for inconvenience Manager could provide no eta. Emergency lighting provided through glow sticks. Front desk service not even willing for a late checkout so people could wait to get ready when power was restored.
Nothing about this hotel was particularly bad, it was just not as awesome as it could have been. The rooms were clean, the staff was tolerant, if not friendly. We had a backed up toilet, but it took over forty minutes to get someone up there to fix it, and we were checking out anyway, so we ended up having to use the bathroom downstairs in the lobby.
I stay here when I want to visit Danville but lately been moving farther out because the prices they are charging lately are way out of proportion for the quality of the hotel, rooms, noise from highway and other guests, etc. When you can book it for under $100 it would be a good value. At $150-$180 you will feel ripped off.
This Best Western is in a wonderful location and is a great property. It is the motel style where you park right outside your door. The motel was clean and the people friendly. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.
This was a very nice Best Western. They had a good breakfast and the rooms were very clean. The staff was very accommodating and the hotel was nice an quiet. I did ask for an I interior corridor room, because I don't like my door out in the open for security reasons. The staff was happy to accommodate my request.
Love the location . Great size room . Nice decor . Great breakfast . Friendly professional staff . Safe . Close to iron pony exercise trail . Loved Amici's across the street for dinner . Parking nice . Pretty landscaping .
We often stay at this hotel due to it's close proximity to the area we visit. Always very accommodating, and friendly staff. Hotel serves breakfast each morning and has a good variety of items. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We have never had a bad experience staying at this hotel.
The Danville CA location was very good--near nice restaurants. We chose this because of the Tesla chargers, but found the staff very friendly and the rooms clean. Good size fridge helpful, small microwave could have been a bit bigger.
Hotel staff was great, very friendly. The hotel is a little outdated, but clean. The only problem is that there is not a elevator. They do have a great suite we stayed in. The restaurant next door is VERY good, highly recommend it. The pool was nice, and it is convenient to the freeway and the Blackhawk Museum
This hotel was in a great location. Right off the freeway and within 40 minutes of San Francisco when there is no traffic. Downtown Danville is right across the freeway from the hotel and down a ways but very close. I recommend going to Downtown Danville for some shopping and outdoor eating. What a cute little town. The hot breakfast at this hotel was disgusting and fake but the continental part of it was fine.
Rooms were dated. Need to renovate the hotel. Breakfast was disgusting, Food was not cooked. Would not stay here again. Swimming pool has a sign that states, If You Have Had Diarrhea In The Last Seven Days. Please Do Not Enter The Pool. Are you kidding me? No one used the pool area. This scared everyone off. Place is chancy at best. Not worth the money either!
Stayed here one night before attending a professional development conference. Check in was easy and the room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is adjacent to a Black Bear Diner, making dinner easy. Staff was apologetic that breakfast was not available before I needed to leave in the morning. Freeway noise did not bother me. The parking lot did get completely full by 10 p.m.
Well situated for the freeway. Comfortable and clean rooms. Sadly were not able to accommodate any of our requests to have rooms together or on ground floor despite booking months in advance. Couple of maintenance issues fixed immediately. Excellent breakfast available. Would definitely return.
I cannot emphasize how clean this room was. You also get a lovely hot/cold breakfast assortment every morning. The staff is very accommodating and pleasant. This is a wonderful bargain and a great location.
Parents and siblings were in Danville for a family wedding. Of the many possible selections of hotels/motels, those of the family that stayed at the Best Western Danville Sycamore Inn found it to be of great value for the price and very centrally located for our needs. We would certainly stay there on another occasion.
The room was comfortable with a great bed. The breakfast offerings exceeded my expectations. The hotel is very convenient for my needs and is surrounded by great restaurants and shopping. Most of all, every staff member provided five-star service going above and beyond to make us feel valued and welcome.
Stayed here for a night on my way through the Bay Area for work. Manager extremely helpful in getting a ground floor room for me. The restaurant next door is very convenient, as well as the location near the shops on San Ramon Valley Blvd.
This has become my go to place when staying in the valley. I have stayed in the Marriot, Courtyard Marriott, Hyatt House, Holiday Inn and La Quinta and all are good but this one feels very warm and home like. The breakfast isn't the best...but the rooms are larger, quiet and the beds are just great. I have always felt welcome by the staff like a small hotel/BnB feeling and a warm welcome. If you are looking for a place with good value and quiet with large rooms and a great bed...this is the place for you.
Outstanding Best Western Property in every aspect. Rooms a little on the small side, but very clean, fully equipped with Micro, fridge, flat screen TV, desk, luggage racks (2), nice bed linens, nice towels, well working A/C, enough room lights, helpful staff, lovely small pool, safe handy parking, quality room magazines, excellent full complimentary breakfast and restaurant adjoining.! Rooms are a little on the pricey side, but very quality property.
Good location, poor value, fitted sheets slide off the bed corners each time you shift, no elevator. We spent 5 nights miserably because of the sheet issue. My father-in-law and galpal also experienced the same sheet issue. For the price, I am giving this rating a VERY POOR -- because of the value (or lack thereof).
We needed a place to stay for one night, something with quick access to the freeway. This hotel did just fine. The room was clean. There is a good California breakfast restaurant adjacent to it (if you don't want the free breakfast included).
Location is good close to walking trail, right next to freeway but noise wasn't too bad. Pet room was on 2nd floor with no elevator. They have you sign a document your pet will not touch any thing in the room, how friendly is that. No mention of the policy when room was booked. I have stayed at Best Westerns where they give you a blanket and water bowl for your pet.
Very basic digs but it was clean and all was in order. Danville is a very pricey area. I was here for an event where the overnight accommodations cost $250/night, so I opted for BW. It was fine except for the fire alarm going off at 7:30 am (false alarm.) When I checked in after 5 pm, the desk person had to herself leave to make sure the room was ready. What's with that? Check-in is supposed to be at 4. It's nothing fancy but an okay place to hang your hat.
Wonderful place to stay. The employees made you feel very comfortable and at home. I highly recommend staying here as it is close to everything! Make sure to talk with Carol in the Breakfast dining area, she is such a sweetheart, warm and kind to everyone.
We called the Best Western Sycamore Inn and we found that they were completely full. So, we went online to check that out. We found a room with no problem. The place is very clean but not the most attractive spot. The staff is very helpful which is important when you are in a new place. As for the breakfast. Pancakes and omelets are rather rubbery. We opted for the yogurt and hard boiled eggs with decaf coffee. It`s a functional motel with very comfortable beds and it is very clean which makes it welcoming when you are tired and looking for a good reliable place to stay. It is dog friendly which is good as long as the dog does not bark. There is not a whole lot to do but the area is beautiful in the Spring with green hills..
We stayed here while visiting friends in Danville. Location was a 5 minute drive from our friends and all amenities. Breakfast was good. Restaurant was really good too. Pool was really small although we didn't end up using it. Beds were really comfortable, room was spacious and shower had lots of pressure - bonus! whole place felt really clean and well cared for. Would definitely stay here again!
Very helpful staff made our mistakes go away and made our stay very enjoyable. It was dog-friendly and the location is very easy to find. We highly recommend this place. It is within walking distance of at least 3 great eating places and a very nice walking trail.
Best Western is well located, clean and comfortable. Black Bear Diner is next door and offers an option for dining. We stay at the hotel when we are in town due to it's location to town and family. Always clean and comfortable.
When you have a lock on the lodging options in a small community, its important to maintain an image that is consistent with the community you represent. Danville is considered affluent, popular & intelligent and this BW property does everything to maintain a first class representation of its property at a higher than average price point for a BW property if it were not for the exclusivity. Breakfast could be well improved as the inclusive feature, unless the object is to get a real breakfast at the adjoining Black Bear. The "pool" is essentially a larger wading area and the property could be better off without it. Excellent staff from front desk to housekeeping! The presence of a well maintained floral area adds to the ambiance of a smaller overall property and we woud recommend staying in the inside versus outside area. Some of the best room decor in a BW property we've experienced and the interior color scheme made the room feel bigger than it was, a definite plus point when you spend a lot of time in hotels. The convenience to the immediate Danville shopping/dining areas is a big plus and we highly recommend experiencing In Contro Ristorante downtown Danville...get the lamb chops!
We stayed for a lacrosse tournament and the Sycamore Inn was just a block from all the amenities of downtown Danville's restaurants and shops. A peaceful and quiet property close to everything. We will stay here again.
Just old and run down. Smoking area all over outside areas, may as well be a smoking permitted hotel. Limited cable Tv selections. No elevator. Wall heating/AC. Pool very tiny, breakfast room tiny. Employees friendly. Compared to other choices in this upscale area this hotel needs major renovation, almost knockdown and start over.
This hotel was very clean. The bed was very comfortable. Professional staff. Would stay here again. Only 10 minutes to the San Ramon Conference Center. They give you passes to use the gym that is just a couple minute drive away.
Before I even got in the room I could smell the rank odor, the odor of an old need to get work done to hotel the whole room just didn't smell clean right down to the bedding. The comforter on the bed had a spot on it, don't know what it was and wasn't getting close enough to find out, and the carpets didn't look like they had been vacuumed in a while (when I came in the following day I had to get the housekeeper to vacuum the carpet)
Nice and courteous staff and more than happy to help with any travel needs. Hotel location is close to restaurants and place of business. Free Wi-Fi and a safe location. Bed was large and very comfortable. TV was nice and internet was available. Breakfast is free with stay.
Spent two nights recently and was pleasantly surprised with the cordial and helpful staff. Free breakfast included options a cut above the typical breakfast buffet. Would definitely stay there again if traveling in the area
Our Corvette Club booked this hotel in Danville because it is centrally located and only a few mile from the Blackhawk Museum. They gave us a good group rate for this area and provided clean attractive rooms for us to stay in. Very nice staff took care of all of our request and provided a good hot breakfast.
My husband and I have stayed here many times over the last 10 years to visit my sister. Spacious king room. Accommodating for our electronics. Good BW-style breakfast but with additional variety. Clean. Great location. Rooms have interesting wall photos of old-time Danville supplied by the Museum of the San Ramon Valley (a great visit).
First, the entire property smells bad. The reception area is tiny and downright ugly. The air-conditioning system was loud and didn't work well. The bedsprings were shot many years ago and the quality of the bedding was up to jail standards. I don't think there were bedbugs, however. There were no movies on-demand and the TV choices were few and full of commercials. Worst is the noise level from the freeway and other guests coming and going at odd times, such as 3am. What was jokingly called "breakfast" was an assortment of items that were so stale I assumed they were purchased at Costco in bulk years ago. The staff barely speaks English and is completely unconcerned with what should be their responsibilities. All this for a price that would have bought us a night at the Claremont!
Spacious n comfy room w micro n fridge n nice lotions/soaps. Locatiion right by fway yet I had quiet interior room w nice buzz of fan system to drown noises. Appreciated free pc n print at front desk for my biz papers. I missed breakfast but grabngo bag of fruit, water n bar was something yet minimal. Front desk clerk nice. Across st is lovely shop ctr w Starbucks, deluxe gym n few rstrnts. Near hotel is very good n friendly diner. I'd stay here again just to walk downtown n peruse delightful dtown danville.
My husband's words were "one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed in!" which is a great review coming from him. Recently remodeled, clean and great amenities. The beds were incredibly comfortable. Danville is a great area!
This is a good value in a really pricey area. The room was very nicely appointed, large, modern and comfortable. I wish this hotel (and most others I stay at) would pay for HD television. It's sad to watch such a nice widescreen TV in standard def. But I wasn't there to watch a lot of TV.
Very reliable good, clean and quiet room with good reading lights. Convenient location. Exceptional staff:courteous and conscientious Have stayed there before when visiting family. Will stay there again.
One of the nicest Best Westerns I have stayed at in a while. Our room was ultra clean and well appointed, with plenty of space and a great layout. Breakfast offered many options, including fresh fruit, waffles, eggs, and oatmeal. Close to Highway 680, but very quiet. Highly recommend.
Used to live in Danville and when I visit I like to stay close to family and friends. The BW is a perfect place, with nice comfortable rooms, clean and quiet, great breakfast, with easy parking, and a very staff.
Good location, clean and has good Diner next door. Slippery sheets came undone and TP & Kleenex on the cheap side. Close to the Bay Area, San Jose with easy access to I 680. Quite for being close to the highway. Shell service station next door with a Black Bear diner with great service & very good selection of food.
I stayed here on a business trip...I was a bit worried about the proximity to the freeway but was pleasantly surprised !!! Not to mention the Black Bear Dinner that is attached to the hotel....GREAT COMBO!!!
I always enjoy this Hotel good breakfast, clean, comfortable beds, good T.V. reception. the lobby has computer close to frwys next door to shopping center and entertainment it is dog friendly. staff is helpful
Very Good trip stop on way to so cal. from the northwest. Came off the most efficient route ( south on I 5 to visit family). Only observation is the price at $160 per nite is a bit high for a Best Western, non-suite hotel. However location is convenient, clean, well appointed and facilities for a pet are convenient if you select a lower level unit. You won't be upset if you select this property.
Girl's get-away..hotel was perfect for us. Very clean, comfortable beds and pillows, recently updated. Our room faced the freeway but we did NOT hear any freeway noise. Property very well kept and staff were very friendly and accommodating.
This Hotel is the only place that we stay when we are working in the Danville area. We call it our "Home Away From Home." The staff and Room are always excellent. We enjoy their breakfast selections. Everything is clean, and the staff is very friendly.
We chose this hotel only because they offered electric vehicle chargers. I specifically mentioned the ev chargers in my booking. Nobody from the hotel contacted me. When we arrived at 11pm, we found out that all chargers were broken. If you drive an electric vehicle, be sure to AVOID this hotel.
Stayed while visiting family. Friendly and helpful staff, and a clean comfortable room at a lower price than hotels in Concord, Walnut Creek. Although my room was on the side of the building facing the highway ramp, it was quiet. Best Western is a great value with the included breakfast, too. I am a vegetarian and was pleasantly surprised to find veggie sausages among the breakfast options. Easy check in, and check out. Enjoyable stay.
This facility is located immediately adjacent to the I-680, at the Sycamore Canyon off-ramp. This older hotel is slowly undergoing renovation, the restaurant is being redone as a Black Bear Diner. Maybe they will come up with the idea of joining the 21st century and putting in room safes in each room. The pool is very small, more of a place to get wet than to swim. The rooms are very ordinary but they do have relatively fast WiFi and a large screen HD TV. The front desk staff are jovial and pleasant. There is a gas station immediately adjacent in the event that you need gas. Directly across the street (Camino Ramon) is The Rose Garden, a newer shopping center, with several of Danville's better rated restaurants and a Starbuck's Cafe as well as a higher quality specialty grocery store. On the western side of the I-680/Sycamore Canyon interchange are several older shopping centers with more restaurants, groceries stores, pharmacies and specialty stores. We did not have any problems with freeway noise despite the proximity to I-680, perhaps we are so close that the noise goes up and over the buildings, or the lot is depressed just enough so that it escapes the noise envelope. Wether this is the case for every room on the property, we can not say.
I came to visit my Aunt. Her mother-in-law celebrated her 90th birthday. The hotel is 5 minutes away from my aunt house. So it was great since I didn't rent car and my aunt drove me around. The hotel was nice, the room is big and clean. The breakfast was ok. Not many selection but I liked the salsa dip the hotel provided. There are some good restaurants on the opposite of the hotel. My friend came over from SF around 9.30pm, and we wend to the Pizza restaurant just across the street. Overall: Excellent hotel to stay. Definitely will stay here again in the future. Planning to take my family next time.
Stopped here again for the 3rd or 4th time on our way to visit relatives further south. We feel very comfortable and well cared for by the friendly staff. Especially " Rose". This is a Dog friendly establishment ....yet the rooms are as clean as can be! The city of Danville has great choices for Restaurants. We personally love Piatti's, but can't wait to try others on our next trip! Nice people. We are making it our yearly stop or more if we can!
We stayed here because all other choices were full. I am glad we did. Right from the start I was impressed with the service. When I was having problems managing the door to our room, a maid who was making ups room nearby came to help. We were late to breakfast one morning and the clean up person graciously let us get breakfast and left all the breakfast buffet for us. And the breakfast selection is good. The rooms are clean and recently updated and decorated attractively.
We booked our stay at Best Western for the great rate when visiting our daughter at Saint Mary's College. The hotel was easy access to the 680 freeway, Saint Mary's College and Walnut Creek. Also the restaurants across the street were wonderful.
was only there one night for a quick trip, hotel under remodel construction but did not interfere with our stay. All staff were friendly and courteous. Highly recommend it for value and convenience of location.
My friends and I found the location at the Best Western, Danville very convenient to easy access on/off freeway and restaurants across the street. Staff very friendly and accommodating.I would definitely stay there again when in the area.
This Best Western will garner better reviews when their remodeling is completed. The room is very comfortable, and the hotel employees are very pleasant. I could not give it a better rating only because of the remodeling going on. But not a bad place for the price.
