Best Western Palo Duro Canyon Inn & Suites

we stayed here for a three day to the Palo Duro Canyon area. The hotel was a perfect location for everything we wanted to do. The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful, making restaurant recommendations. We stayed in a double suite, which gave us plenty of room, with coffee, a fridge, etc. The daily breakfast provides many options.

This hotel is spic and span inside and out. All staff was friendly and professional. Our room was very fresh and comfortable. Our included breakfast was fresh and hot items were piping hot, cold items cold, and the whole area was kept as neat as can be. The hotel is a great value.

Staff was very nice and concern about our stay. Breakfast was so good. We were told they have bacon for the first time. We were the first to try it. We were so excited. The room was so nice and warm. Thank you. Hope to see yall soon!

We always stay at BW when we travel as we have come to our expect from them, fair prices, great customer service, a spotless hotel from top to bottom and a great breakfast and our stay was no exception, all the above met and exceeded. A shout out goes to Lisa who greeted us every morning with a smile and great conversation, just like family. A great connection. She is excellent in every way! Highly recommend.

Staff very helpful at check in. The location was convenient to visit Palo Duro Canyon and all points in the town of Canyon. Breakfast was great everyday. Internet was a little spotty so don't know if I would stay here for business. We would definitely stay here again.

Very clean and well furnished rooms with amenities required for a short stay on the road, like microwave and mini refrigerator. There are also enough places to charge your electronics, but they consisted only of outlets, so you need your own charges. The staff is attentive and friendly. Location is great, less than 20 minutes from Palo Duro Canyon State Park (and Canyon is smaller and much nicer than Amarillo). There is a decent steak restaurant and bar next door and a convenience store across the street.

Or king suite was HUGE! Even the bathroom was gigantic and the price was unbelievable! All this space for just over 100$? Unbelievable. The staff was exceptional. Enthusiastic and welcoming. We would stay here again in a heartbeat! !

The bed had not been changed from whoever slept in it before. The floor had not been vacuumed either. I let the staff know and they gave me a 25% discount. They weren't even surprised it didn't seem like. They also didn't seem to feel bad about the situation.

Loved hotel will stay again great location amazing Staff. Walking sistance to store and restaurants. Indoor swimming pool is great as well as the fitness center. The laundry facility came in handy for us

This hotel chooses to use strongly scented laundry detergent and dryer sheets on all their linens. If you have asthma or allergies, this hotel is not a good choice for you. Evidently they do not care to make their hotel comfortable for everyone, only people who want strongly scented bedding and towels.

This is a very nice hotel, extremely comfy beds and very clean hotel. Amazing staff and close walking distance to the Panhandle Plans museum, and several restaurants and shops. Loved the breakfast and the indoor pool was nice for all of us. We would stay here again.

Hotel was clean, neat and front desk staff were friendly and professional. Breakfast was typical for this brand except they served margarine instead of real butter. That really is my only complaint. Great job!!

This hotel may be pet-friendly but you'd never know it. The rooms are clean and there is absolutely no smell of doggy accidents. Our fur-kid had a field day sniffing around but we smelled nothing bad. The breakfast is amazing. Tasty eggs, sausage, potatoes, biscuits, waffles, yogurt, fruit. You won't leave hungry. Very pleasantly surprised. There is a steak house right next door but we just didn't have time to try that convenient place.

The hotel was clean and comfortable. However, what made the stay enjoyable was how friendly everyone was. The hotel was well appointed and everything worked well. Overall the property has been maintained exceptionally well. So this was the best value of all the competing options.

Overall a great hotel! Comfy beds, top notch continental breakfast, courteous staff, and a superb stay within 20 minutes of the Canyon and walking distance of WTAMU. The double Queen suite was the best I've seen with just an incredible amount of space. Highly recommend!

Staff was friendly and ready to check you in, room was clean, and they had coffee or nice cold water in the lobby you can enjoy. These simple little things mean a lot when you have been on the road for hours. Thanks!

I scheduled the wrong day and the staff made sure I had a place to stay. The beds were super comfy and I loved that they had makeup remover wipes! The room was cool when we first got in and that was nice since it was hot.

The rooms were immaculate. Beds very comfortable. The hotel provides a REAL breakfast. Eggs, Sausage, Potatoes, Waffles, Cereals, breads, fresh fruits, juices, know I am missing things but you get the idea. Excellent friendly staff. Bonus - very good restaurant right next door.

The room was clean,breakfast satisfactory. Pillows were not comfortable though. However, because there was some kind of athletic team staying there it got VERY noisy about 10pm. It didn't quieten down till around 11pm. The front desk clerk did say when we checked in that she was putting us on the 3rd floor hoping it would be quieter. Wrong! But I don't blame the hotel, the students should have been more considerate and the chaperones should have told them to be quieter.

Very disappointing, recommended by family member who lives in Canyon as "the best one in town". My first choice is always Holiday Inn Express. It was full. The room smelled, discovered later the carpet was damp in front of the refrigerator. We had already had front desk come and remove water from inside. Discovered the damp carpet after taking off my shoes, the smell corresponds to an undetected dampness. Also the advertised "queen" beds were small. My sister and I had elbows hitting each other. Cleanliness was also questioned. Doesn't look old from the outside, but had old, tired, feel.

Welcomed me and my pet. Clean rooms and breakfast was good. Lots of parking and palo duro state park is a straight shot from the hotel. Lots of parking with amble lighting so I felt my car was safe. Will come back

We wanted a weekend getaway and the night staff clerks went beyond to make the check~ in go well.The entire staff were friendly and helpful.We would definitely recommend this hotel to others.This is one of our favorite Best Western Hotel.We stay at a lot of hotels

The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff were very helpful in suggesting a place to eat and a place to walk after dinner. It was in a convenient. We really enjoyed our stay at it. I would recommend it.

The location was good .. staff was friendly. The carpet could be cleaner and the ceiling fan chain was broken and couldn't turn it off. The bathroom needs remodeled! So as a best western member I have really expected the hotel to be free off issues!

Staff was friendly and efficient. We had automobile problems during our stay and the staff went out of their way to help us and to assist us in the resolution. I have rarely experienced this level of attention and assistance.

Passing thru on way home from Colorado and wanted to visit Palo Duro Canyon so we booked at Best Western Palo Duro. Easy access to motel and even though it was not at the canyon it was close enough. Plenty of restaurants in the area. The room was large and the bed was comfortable. Hot breakfast was included. Convenient parking.

My grown dau and I stayed 2 nights. Late arrival was no problem. Pool was closed by Health Dept - electrical problem they said. Breakfast was average. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. Came in late from Palo Duro - Texas play, full parking lot, but all was quiet & restful.

The room was clean,but they need to clean corners and make sure all items is stocked. The breakfast was good and had all that you needed. I would stay here again. The gentleman at the front desk was very nice and helpful and he was happy.

Not worth the hassles. Phone not working. Clock broken. Toilet wobbled. Sink mal-aligned so the drain plug wouldn't work. Low water pressure. Hall AC not working. Dusty smell. Hair dryer flashes a red light periodically so we unplugged it. Staff couldn't follow instructions because they were apparently under-staffed and over worked.

In all my years of staying at hotels, including some pretty questionable ones, I have never checked into one with dirty sheets still on the bed. Until our stay at this Best Western. Our friends checked into the room next to us and also had beds made with dirty sheets. Body hair, regular hair, ear wax, dirty tissues, makeup. All in the beds still. It was disgusting. They also only had one staff member working. Antonio was a hard worker and did our clean sheets on our bed so I would give him 5 stars. But we left after one night and moved to the Holiday Inn next door. We didn't feel clean. I will probably never stay at another Best Western after this.

The bed linen was not changed from the previous guest. House keeping made the beds so they looked nice and clean, but when you pulled back the covers there was pubic hair and waded up kleenex laying between the sheets.

Great place to stay for your hiking trip to Palo Duro Canyon. The hotel is clean and the people are very friendly. Breakfast is very good with best part being the Texas shaped waffles! I recommend this hotel and hope to stay there again. Several nice restaurants within walking distance.

We had a nice spacious room. Although the bathtub was small. The elevator ran quickly which made it nice. The place was easy to access and parking was adequate. They offerred a hot breakfast which was nice.

The hotel was fine overall, the room was comfortable and clean, as was the Bathroom. Breakfast was fine, multiple choices and items replenished. As mentioned in other reviews there are flies in the food area. I say beware because we left the room one day at 8:30 and came back at 3:30. When we got there the room was propped open with the safety lock. When we walked in, the room had not been attended to by housekeeping. My husband went to the front desk he was told that because of being short staffed they're not cleaning rooms every day and should've told us but they didn't. I understand these are challenging times with Covid and reduced staffing but they should make it part of their reservation, check in, whatever procedure to let the guests know.They could not explain why the room was propped open, I will attach a photo. This is a huge liability for the hotel as we had things like iPads and some jewelry and all of our clothes and suitcases in the room. When I asked about a resolution of the door propping the next morning, they offered a small credit but it seemed insufficient for the exposure.

Comfortable hotel in Canyon town-Conveniently placed for Caprock and Palo Duro Canyons. Restaurant next door has wide variety of dishes. Museum close by is well worth a visit too but allow an afternoon - it's good. Hotel pool not available - CoVid precaution. Warm breakfast a little boring after a couple of mornings

Stayed on 9/4 & 9/11 - 9/4 room smelled like wet dog & dog pee with few spots on carpets. 9/11 room smelled like it had been smoked in. Floors were DISGUSTING! With numerous spots on carpet & bathroom floor was filthy. Dead bugs in window sills. It's my understanding renovations are in the near future - can't come too soon for this place. Plus…it is in a good location.

We have been staying here for some time. it's a bit dated and needs new beds but if you are coming to WTAMU the location is great. It is close to restaurants and the college. we prefer it the holiday inn next door.

This hotel needs to be gutted and re-modeled or razed and re-built. It gives Best Western a bad name. I picked this location to be close to a family wedding venue. Our first room had black hairs in the sink and bathtub, stains on the carpet, a toothpick on the carpet near the bed and a filthy broken window GLUED together. The front desk staff at check in was extremely irritated when I asked to have rewards gift cards applied but did move us to another room, which was cleaner. The second day, a staff member did apply my gift cards while vehemently complaining about the staff member the night before. It is very obvious they DO NOT like to apply gift cards to accounts. The second room we were assigned after the dirty first one had all kinds of patched repairs, etc in the bathroom, stains in the tub and on the floor, dirt on the bathroom floor, stains on the bed cover, etc. whew! The treadmill was very dirty and dusty, the remote in the fitness center did not work, and the TV in the fitness center had no signal. I reported it and hope it was fixed. I cleaned the treadmill. Breakfast was adequate for a hotel like this, but there were so many flies, and we had to clean our own table the first morning. Even though I had great experiences in April at four other BW hotels (one was super budget level but clean with helpful staff), I will think twice about another BW location.

All seemed good when we arrived on Saturday night. We checked in very late after a 14 hour drive. The girl on the front desk was friendly and welcoming. Breakfast next morning was fine but then it ended. They ran out of breakfast supplies so limited hot food, no plates even on one day and by our last day there were no eggs on offer, just sausages, biscuits (which neither of us can eat) and not very nice potatoes. The yogurt supply had dried up after our first morning so all we were left with were bread and waffles which again we can't eat due to gluten intolerance. The pool was out of action from the day we got there till the afternoon of the day before we left but as we were going to the show we didn't have time to use it by then. The toilet in our room broke the first night so maintenance had to be called in. On the upside the beds were comfortable and it was fairly quiet. Overall very disappointing. I expected more from a Best Western. I won't be staying here again and would recommend people go to the Holiday Inn Express down the road rather than staying here .

The property is fairly well maintained inside and out. It is only minutes from the canyon. Our room was neat and clean, in good condition, and the beds were very comfortable. The check in and out process was quick and efficient. The staff were polite and professional. The price was reasonable.

The air conditioning was fantastic. That is the best thing about our room. The room door was ajar when we arrived at it. There was a bottle of disinfecting cleaner on the bathroom counter. The next morning the breakfast was less than pleasing. The hashbrowns were mush. The gravy was dried out. When we packed up the room there were ants all over the desk where we had put our leftover food containers.

Issues began at check in. We arrived at 2:30 for a 3PM check-in and were told no rooms were ready and to return at 3PM. We left and returned at 2:57 to a crowded lobby and one employee sitting behind the desk and not greeting or acknowledging anyone. At 3 PM the rooms somehow became available. We checked in at 3:15. The room was what I expected. Breakfast was horrible. One employee would appear when asked to replenish items and he was noticeably annoyed. Items were not replaced, tables were not bussed and flies were flying around the tables. The trash was overflowing. We told the two women at the front desk and one of them thanked us but did nothing to remedy the issues. We placed our uneaten food on top of the trash and left.

Perfect place to stay if you're going to Palo Duro Canyon and/or the TEXAS musical there. It's a straight shot, 10-12 minute drive. Basic rooms, basic amenities, but very comfy mattresses and fluffy, soft towels! Ceiling fans in most rooms.

Convenient location and easy to find. One of the quietest hotels with no noise from other rooms at all. The breakfast was surprisingly good. You don't often get eggs, potatoes, and sausage at smaller hotels. Great selection overall.

Stayed two nights while visiting Palo Duro canyon. Definitely recommend this hotel it's clean with large comfortable rooms. Breakfast is included and staff is excellent Close to canyon entrance and restaurants. Very nice location.

This hotel was very adequate for our needs. The room was spacious (we had a double queen bed suite) and we had plenty of space for our pack n play. The room was clean, the beds were firm and comfortable. Only complaint was that the fan above the beds in room 224 did not have chain pull to turn it off. The other fan in the room did. But we really wanted it off while we slept. We would stay here again, but not in 224 unless the fan was fixed.

Staff particularly Florence went way out of their way to be helpful when I had lost something important. They were wonderful and did everything possible to help. They went through all the sheets in the laundry contacted the entire house keeping staff and scoured the room

See 2021 update to 2018 review below. No real change...other than the impact of covid19 on operations. We stayed 2 nights at the Best Western Palo Duro Canyon, in a king suite. The room was spacious and included a sitting area with sofaj, chair and tables...plus a desk. The bed area included a small dresser with TV atop and microwave and fridge within. There were 2 nightstands, each with contemporary lamp with an outlet in front. There was no safe or phone in the room. The bathroom was clean, and had good towels and quality toiletries. Much to our surprise, there were 2 ceiling fans in the room, one each in the sitting and sleeping areas. The hotel is right on the road, with a strip shopping center and gas station across the street. Our room faced the road, so had the expected road noise and light coming in around the curtain. The room also had its fair share of light pollution between the cable box, microwave, power light on the TV and alarm clock, plus lots of light coming in under the hallway door. The bed was comfortable and the room's climate control good. We missed having a wider array of TV channels. On road trips like ours, we like to watch cable shows on HGTV and History. These were not available, but HBO was. Breakfast included quite a few choices, and wasn't bad for this price point. There were eggs, sausage, potatoes, biscuits and gravy and DIY waffles in the hot selection, plus yogurt, breads, fruit, juice, cereal and more. The breakfast area was clean and well stocked. I only wished it was open later than 9 on weekdays. All in all, not a bad stay...but I wish we'd requested a room away from the road. If noise bothers you, ask for an even numbered room. Update: we stayed at this hotel again in late April 2021. Hot breakfast resumed, with a few quirks that need working out...but still very good.

I booked a two queen suite, all pre-paid, however when we got there they had said they had no suite available and just put us in a regular two bed room, no apologies, did not refund the difference, and worst of all the person at the front desk was extremely unfriendly. To add to all that, the hotel is pretty rundown, bunch of rusty fixtures in the bathroom, would not recommend it at all.

Hotel has a room that is detached from the rest of the hotel. Looks like it was storage of some kind prior to being converted in to a room. Its made of cider block. You have to go outside of the hotel to get to it. Very odd. Also, the lock on this room was broken and did not work properly. Hard to believe that they would rent this room to people. Does not seem like a safe place. If something bad happened there is no one to hear you scream since your isolated from the rest of the hotel. Seemd kind of rape-y.

Room was only fair. The carpet smelled of urine and/or dog. The air conditioning units need to be replaced...it had no speeds just ran continuously. The bathroom had a big patch on the ceiling that looked like they were working on repairs. There was alot of dirt on the bathroom floor & inside the toilet paper holder. I feel like the place was almost empty, we could have been given a room that they knew was not being worked on. Thank goodness I carry my own sanity supplies. The area is not big on enforcing masks. All amenities are closed but they did their best with the grab & go breakfasts.

A friend & I needed to get away due to Covid Cabin Fever. Decided the remote area in Canyon TX was the safest option. The room was clean & comfy & Canyon is a great little town right outside Palo Duro Canyon. They did the best they could with a grab & go breakfast of prepackaged options. No pool, gym or hot tub because of the restrictions- but we had enough to keep us busy at the state park.

Very clean and well maintained room. I noticed that bedspreads are washed (which is always one of my concerns). The entire facility was clean and had no odors (i.e., cigarettes). Plenty of nice choices for breakfast and good coffee. Staff are friendly and very helpful. We encountered only a few small glitches, but nothing that would prevent us from returning.

I should have paid attention to all the previous negative reviews. Multiple problems with this place and will never stay here again. 1. Check in-Front Desk woman was about to scan my ID into their computer and I told her not to, that I did not permit copies of my Drivers License to be made. She ignored me and said her boss says she has to do this. If there wasn't a plastic shield between us I would have reached over and grabbed it back out of her hands. There is NO reason for this (I am a Platinum Best Western Rewards member) and this can lead to Identity Theft. 2. Found garbage under the sink in bathroom. Used toilet paper roll lying under the sink. Someone else's garbage. 3. Toilet seat won't stay up because of some type of device they have attached to the front of the toilet (a button to push to flush it instead of handle) and every time you want to flush you have to grab the seat and move it. 4. Broken unlocked security door on back of hotel. 5. Door to room not secure and can see in from the hallway. After I was in the room I noticed that the wood was all broken out of the door frame around the lock and you could look in and see into the room from the hallway very easily. If the two interior locks were not locked it would have been easy for someone to get into the room if I was not there. I had to stack up furniture and my suitcase in front of the door and hang a towel over the area to insure my privacy and safety. (Room 322) Horrible place and should be stripped of the Best Western Brand name. Do yourself a big favor and read all the negative reviews and don't make the same mistake I did. Stay ELSEWHERE.

This Best Western allows customers and housekeeping to not wear face coverings or practice social distancing. I asked the front desk person why this was being allowed since this is mandated and posted as a requirement throughout the property and she said MANAGEMENT instructed them not to enforce this. I looked into another hotel but couldn't get a room so we had to stay. We carried around a can of Lysol and disinfecting wipes whenever we left the room.

The room was somewhat worn. Could use some spiffing up. The bizarre incident occurred the next morning. The front desk person suddenly quit, leaving just an (unpleasant) letter posted, and there was no one manning the front desk or office. There was a lot of general confusion and forget about the grab and go breakfast cause no one was home. We dropped off our key and left.

Funny how the description of this hotel beings with: Everyone needs a place to lay their weary head. This was me after a six hour drive from Dallas and six hours hiking in Palo Duro Canyon in hot and humid weather before coming to the hotel. I was exhausted and stiffening up. Plus there was a thunderstorm approaching so I wanted to check in and get my baggage inside right away. Not happening with Sara at the front desk. Once I got past the crowd of trashy people hanging out in the parking lot, I went inside and the front desk agent (Sara) answered the phone instead of checking me in. It was a loooong conversation. Normally I'm very patient, but again I'm exhausted and don't want to get caught in a downpour. Sara didn't even bother acknowledging my presence. I realize I likely looked sweaty and gross, but I cannot be the only person who shows up after visiting the canyon. She treated me like an unwanted homeless person instead of a valued paying customer. I waited around and finally just left to go get gas right across the street. When I got back the trashy people in the parking lot at least had left. Went back inside and Sara was not there. However, there was a sign saying if there is no one at the front desk it's because they are assisting a guest. Nonsense. Sara was NOT assisting a guest. I went back out to my car frustrated. All I want to do is check into my room!! It shouldn't be this difficult!! Tried to Google somewhere to get food, but could not get the map to come up since I wasn't connected to the wifi. I also tried to look up the Holiday Inn Express next door as I was getting fed up and just wanted a room and a shower. If Sara won't let me check in, maybe Holiday Inn will. But I was certain I'd get hit with a no show fee despite that fact that I showed and simply could not get Sara to check me in. So I tried a third time and Sara was still not there but now the sign is gone. Unbelievable. I rang the bell and Sara finally came out. I asked if I could check into my room. She was snotty and rude to me like I'm putting her out just by wanting her to do her job. Great southern hospitality. Plus they're not requiring anyone to wear masks during the pandemic. Of course not. Did not see any sanitizer anywhere either even though the website says it is supposed to be there. I also had a feeling that Sara would put me in the worst room. Sure enough, dirtiest room I've ever stayed in. Good job Sara! My room was on the third floor #317. The carpet in front of the elevator on the third floor had a huge disgusting stain. Doesn't look like the carpet had been vacuumed or the elevator cleaned. At first I was impressed when I walked into the room, but upon actually using it I realized it was set up in a strange manner. There was a large sitting area when first entering the room which also had the desk. That means the desk was far away from the tv which was on the other side of the room closer to the bed. When I turned the tv on it didn't even work due to the rain. No stations were coming in at all. Eventually they came on later. At least the wifi worked. No pen or paper. These people don't wear masks and yet they're not going to leave a pen due to Covid? Ridiculous. No laundry bag either. Upon taking a shower, the shower faucet didn't look wiped down but I initially thought it might just be hard water stains. No. The shower was not cleaned. There were multiple hairs on the walls. Also the tub barely drained. The water (in a tub that had not been cleaned) was up to my ankles ewwww. The water pressure was good, but the shower head was full of limescale so the streams went everywhere. Then upon looking at the bathroom door, I noticed hairs there too. That means no one is wiping down the door where people touch it during a pandemic. The toilet had a weird push button flushing mechanism meaning the lid had to be put down every time you wanted to flush The towels were very large so that was a plus. (The only plus) In checking the nightstand drawers and wiping things down, I noted that one of them was wedged against the wall and wouldn't open. When did the housekeeper last check it? The fridge worked but was lopsided. It was very small but in a much larger cupboard. Had a tiny freezer that barely fit my ice packs for my cooler. Pretty sure there was a stray noodle on the back wall of the fridge. Didn't bend that far down to look. Could be a stain, but I'm pretty sure it was food. Once the tv came back on, I could hear the tv from the room next door. Great. No view other than the gas station across the street. Another thing to note was it had rained earlier in the day and this town apparently doesn't have proper street drainage so directly in front of the hotel the street basically turned into a lake. Not fun to drive in and too deep to walk across the street if you just wanted to go to the gas station for snacks. I likely will be back to the area to return to Palo Duro Canyon, but I will NOT stay here ever again.

My family and I had a great time at this property The whole staff was great. Sarah in particular stood out! Her service stood out and went well above what was expected. Great team there at the Best Western.

We have stayed at Best Westerns before without a problem. We will never return to this location again. The room we were given was an overflow room located outside of the main building. It looked like a former storage building that was converted to a single bed hotel room. Being outside of the main hotel apparently it is forgotten/overlooked for regular cleaning. The carpeting/baseboards were full of dog hair. Pets aren't even allowed at the hotel. We sent pics to the manager and received an apology and a promise of a refund. Never received a refund.

The room was big, clean, and quiet. It was a perfect place to spend the night before going to explore the Canyon. We really liked all the canvas prints of pictures from the Canyon. My niece and nephew loved it!

What an unexpected surprise! I haven't stayed at a Best Western since I was a child and was honestly expecting something very plain and just a place to lay my head after a full day of hiking. I walked into such a pleasant receptionist, carts readily available, and then the room! Oh the room!! Traveling with 3 small boys and my sister we were more than impressed with the size and the lay out! Room darkening curtains, 2 queen size beds conveniently located to the side of the suite area with our own tv. This allowed for the boys to lay on the fold out couch and watch their own movies on their own tv while we had a bit of down time to ourselves. I would highly recommend this Best Western!

Dirty elevator, dirty walls, bloodstains on bed sheets, towel Smelly room. I asked sheets to be changed and they never do it. Next day after "cleaning" same blood stains sheets. I rather to cancelled next nights.

Nice, clean but Front Desk help NOT consistently wearing masks last night or this morning. Even the guests were masked, just not the staff. What gives? Plexiglass offers little protection without masks.

Recently stayed at this hotel for two nights. It was a two queen bed. Has microwave and refrigerator. Very spacious. And clean, only downside is no coffee maker in the room. However you can go to the front desk and get coffee. They don't have the breakfast at this time. It looked like they had grab bags to go.

Hotel was so unsanitary even during the COVID outbreak when they have signs saying they are doing extra cleaning/disinfecting. First room we entered had poop stains in the toilet bowl and it was clear the entire bathroom was not cleaned. Front desk gave us the room next door and that room had spill stains in the fridge and mold/vomit in stains in the ice bucket. After that we left for a different hotel. Thankfully the front desk lady was very nice and didn't charge us but the cleaning lady needs to be fired. This is completely unacceptable especially during these times when sanitation and cleanliness is at its utmost importance.

Due to the virus, the breakfast experience involved a carry out bag. We were offered extras both days of our stay to take to our room, and the front desk lady was extremely helpful to be sure we were happy.

We stayed at this hotel for a total of 2 nights and were greatly pleased with the great service and clean rooms. The staff was very accommodating and kind. I definitely recommend this to anyone visiting!

Very affordable and clean! Decorated with Canyon pics which was a nice touch! We didn't have but one towel in our room so we had to get some which was not a problem but after a long drive it would be nice to have the room stocked. We were not told about the to go breakfast since we were not going to do buffet due to the virus. We saw the bags on the counters, but the two working said nothing about it as we checked out so we didn't know if that was for all guests or not... Rooms were very clean and nice , but there is a neighborhood close and some people were partying at a fire at their house late into the night right outside the window that we could hear as we were trying to sleep. It's a nice little hotel to see the Canyon and price is great so I would stay again.

Perfect location. Close to a ton of restaurants as well as fast food. Great antique shops. Walmart is a 10 minute drive. The employees are the best. Great service! Nice indoor pool&fitness room. The rooms are very clean and spacy. Definitely coming back again! The canyon is a 15 minute drive or shorter. Amazing! A must see!!!!!!

The beds were comfortable and we all had a good night sleep. It is very close to the road and after hearing some very loud cars during the day, I feared the night traffic. We had no issues at all! And to wake up to the FREE breakfast they had was amazing. It is far beyond what I have ever had at a free breakfast! So very good and this is making me take a second look at Best Western in our future travels! I will most definitely stay here again and recommend it to everyone. The canyon is literally right down the road maybe 2 miles away. This Best Western rocked!

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights. We enjoyed the breakfast, which had a lot of choices. Our room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. All the employes were friendly and helpful. We will stay here again whenever we return to Canyon.

We stayed here one night on a 17-day trip where we stayed in 11 different properties. I'd rank this 5th among the 11. This hotel didn't disappoint or overwhelm. It was quiet, comfortable, and clean. The WiFi worked well and the breakfast was good. I would definitely consider staying here again if I were in the area.

I recently discovered Best Western and have stayed at a few different locations. The Canyon city location was the worst. The exit door outside my room slammed all night, the pneumatic device for gentle closure was broken, and it was directly across from a stairwell. There was a large gap between the door, and light shone through all night. I brought it up to the desk in the morning, and the woman sympathized with me, "yes, that door is very loud." She asked me to give them another chance, but that was all she offered. Staff know how loud that room is. The elliptical was broken in the fitness room. When I showered, all I got was freezing water. As I was turning it off, it got warmer, and I realized the hot and cold were backwards. There was no sign for this, and I was not told this upon check in. I left this hotel exhausted, only having sleep a few consecutive hours on an uncomfortable mattress in a startlingly loud, bright room, and I had to continue my 12 hour road trip.

The handicap room was worn and the shower/bathroom had it's issues. But the bed was the most comfortable we had in all or hotel/motel stays. The front desk was fabulous in finding us a first floor room. They included some labels for gluten free food at the breakfast but it was not all the options available. For instance for some odd reason they only indicated one type of Dannon yogurt when their other type was gluten free also. But it was nice they listed some of them.

We stayed 2 nights. Room was clean upon entry . For some reason we did not have a maid service after the first night so we called front desk and they were prompt to send towels and apologetic . The bathroom had some issues. Tub faucet drips heavily continually. The tub faucet handle is on upside down so cold and hot water are opposite. The sink faucet barely ran any water at all. The screen that the water diffuses through was completely stopped up. The heater in the room worked but the a/c had issues. Breakfast was typical. I did appreciate the “to go” bags at the front desk as we hiked in Palo Duro canyon. Strangely enough , not unhappy. Everything worked out

Our room was clean and comfortable. Choices at the included breakfast were good and tasty. Great place if you are visiting the canyon. Caprock Canyons is just one hour to drive from here. We would definitely stay again if in the area.

Rooms are clean and up to date. The hotel is in a safe part of town. Staff is professional and courteous! Breakfast was well stocked and always hot and fresh.Pool was heated and clean. Did not use the business center.

The Best Western Palo Duro is about 20 miles straight west of Palo Duro State Park, which was our destination. The hotel is modern in design and very comfortable: the linens were fresh and clean, bathroom was roomy, hot water was plentiful - all of which we enjoyed after a day in the park.There was a ceiling fan in the room and tons of lighting, which are unheard of/rare in my experience. Lots of breakfast choices, and coffee available 24/7. All the staff we met were friendly and helpful.

I was on vacation but I travel many times a year on business. The staff at this hotel is one of the best teams I have experienced. They helped with every question or need I had for my family. I recommend this hotel for its staff, cleanliness, and proximity to the Palo Duro Canyon Park. Also, they are very pet friendly. I will bring our pet (family member, lol) on the next trip.

Everything was great except there was a small bug we saw in the room. I think it wasn't a bed bug but some other kind. Very conveniently located from Palo Duro Canyon. Overall really great experience.

My wife and I stayed at the Palo Duro Canyon hotel for 3 nights. It is very convenient to the state park and to town. The employees were exceptionally friendly, our room very clean, spacious and well decorated. The fitness equipment is brand new and works well. Breakfast was good and the employees working the dining area were very nice and always tidying up. Well worth the money spent!

In town for doctor appointments. Best Western is located close enough to our appointments to be able to see family at the same time. We enjoy staying here when in town because the staff is very friendly.

Enjoyed our stay at Best Western Palo Duro. Clean, large rooms, very fast wifi, good breakfast with plenty of food items. Location was near attractions and restaurants in the area. Staff was friendly, and got us checked in and out very efficiently.

Though this location is a small drive from the highway, it was easy to locate and a great place to overnight. Rooms are large, hallways are nicely lit and very clean. The breakfast was better than average and tended by a pleasant, helpful host. A great choice!

We were lucky to get the last room for the night. We did not arrive until after midnight, so we were pretty exhaused from our trip. The check in person was very nice and welcoming. When we arrived up to our room, I was concerned because we were directly accross from the elevator and worried it would be noisy. Well....we did not hear a thing. Beds were comfortable and it was quiet. The shower was clean and the tolietries smelled great. The breakfast was great as well. Several things to choose from and the attendent was friendly and kept everything refilled. We got full before we headed back on the road. I would highly recommend due them being so friendly, the property being clean, and a great value for everything you get.

The staff is beyond friendly. They were so awesome when it game to working with our group. They were kind and courteaous and so enjoyable to work with. The property is fantastic and the lobby area is gorgeous. The rooms were clean and very comfortable - including a ceiling fan. Location is great and right in the heart of canyon and breakfast was spot on - something for everyone!

We came in to see my daughter for her 21st birthday and had a very enjoyable stay at the hotel. Breakfast was wonderful and the staff was super nice...especially Shawn. We prefer staying here and will be back soon.

This is our 2nd time here - truly welcoming atmosphere and pleasant/comfortable accommodations. Especially if you are visiting the beautiful Palo Duro Canyon, this is a wonderful place to rest and refresh from your hiking and visiting adventures.

The Palo Duro Canyon Inn Best Western was welcome relief after a long day on the road. The hotel is located on a less traveled street so access is easy and the surrounding area quiets early evening. The hotel is fairly new and is kept looking so by the staff.

Great check in. Got a great suggestion for an evening meal. Nice room. both beds had good mattreses. Good breakfast, that had a variation on day 2 from day 1. Good checkout. Hotel was on the way to Palo Duro Canyon and not far from the downtown area.

From reservation to check in to check out very good experience. Room was spacious, extra detail by the cleaning staff was a pleasant surprise. Breakfast was great...excellent selection. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Also knowledgeable about the area. Will stay there again.

This is a review mainly for the housekeeping lady. The hotel is the basic Best Westen. I stay at BW whenever there is one where I travel. As I checked out I realized my wedding ring was not on my finger. I had left my keys in the room. I asked for a temp key to run back up to my room to find the ring. As the elevator door was opening, there was housekeeping with my ring headed to turn it in to the front desk. Very thankful!

Been staying in this hotel for six years traveling from Oklahoma City to Ruidoso NM, always satisfied sStaff always friendly and help, beds are comfortable, breakfast is free and tasty, our favorite place to stay in Canyon

Don't expect anything special here. We had one bar of soap to continually transfer from the sink to the shower. Another inconvenience was that there were only 2 towels so no extra one for hair washing. The hair dryer got very hot and made a lot of noise but very little air actually came out. Beyond these minor inconveniences, the room was large and very quiet. Though a bit banged up and "used" it appeared clean and the bed was comfortable. It was conveniently located if you are going to see the play at Palo Duro Canyon.

Went to Canyon , TX to drop off our son to WTAMU; we're from NY, so we had to get EVERYTHING for his apartment! The staff was very nice, the young man at the front desk helped us get a two queen beds suite, it was so spacious we were able to fit our luggage and all the stuff we got for our son. The room even had two TV's! We never felt crowded, my husband, 6'4 son and me enjoyed our stay at this hotel, good breakfast, nice pool, nice gym, and the nicest staff! We'll definitely will stay here next time we come see my son play baseball!

To start with, we checked in after the 3PM recommended time and our room hadn't been cleaned yet. Sure, the front desk guy was apologetic, but c'mon, 3 PM and you don't have a room ready? I don't care if your staff isn't showing up, that's not my problem. Next, we finally got into the room. My wife has accessibility issues, which is why we asked for an accessible room. The bathroom was obviously designed by someone who has no idea what “accessible” means. The bathroom floor has a slope at the center (with another drain) - for people who have balance and mobility problems, a floor that's uneven is a real problem. That was nothing compared to the “accessible shower”. It had a steep little ramp (think about a 35° angle up) and the shower was above the rest of the floor. There's no place to put soap or shampoo inside the shower - it sits on a glass shelf OUTSIDE of the shower. Brilliant. Nobody in a wheelchair would be able to roll into this shower themselves unless they have very strong arms. And one more gripe, the shower had a rather slick tile floor, not the best for someone with mobility issues. Other than that...well, I'm not sure the staff really gives a damn anymore. The room and the entire hotel had a slightly beat-up look to it (a little repainting every 3-6 months would help), and when we went to the free breakfast the next morning, it was obvious that none of the staff members want to go in there during the free-for-all. Tabletops were a mess, the orange juice machine was spewing out more water than orange juice, and all of the trash cans were filled up to the top — not only in the breakfast room, but in the lobby and outside as well. Perhaps the employees at the BW Palo Duro Canyon Inn & Suites can quit yapping in the office from time to time and actually look at cleaning the place. Not recommended.

The front staff made it quick and easy. Very knowledgeable, friendly. This was my first stay at the hotel and I wanted a once place to have dinner being on the road all week. They suggested a great restaurant and it was just that.

I called to make a reservation in the AM. We called in the afternoon to verify if there was a deadline for check in. They stated that we did not have to check in by a certain time and they would hold our rooms. We arrive late that evening and they gave away our reservations so we had to drive ALL the way home. Not to mention they charged my bank account for the rooms. Never again!

Great location for visiting the Palo Duro Canyon! Breakfast is good, plenty of parking. Nice clean rooms and friendly staff. Short drive to downtown and restaurants. And a 20 minute drive to Amarillo.

This Best Western has wide corridors with new carpet,clean and quite spacious room and bathroom, comfortable beds with smooth sheets, right-height pillows, desk, office chair, two side tables, center night stand, a chair and a chest drawer with kitchen appliances. Its exterior looks new! Towels are white and absorbent cotton. Mr. Jarret, is quite pleasant and gave us a 3rd floor (rm. 222); just as helpful when I rang him in February to request a change in dates of our then reservation!! Complimentary breakfast has two kinds of sausages and the usual offerings of most hotels. Housekeeping staff are equally nice! It is near the Canyon Town Square and 15 miles west of the Palo Duro Canton State Park.

Good price and good location. We've stayed here before and have always been happy. The breakfast has a good variety of food and was well stocked throughout the morning. It's not far from Palo Duro canyon state park.

The location was perfect to go see the awesome Texas Musical at the Canyon. The hotel was clean and the staff very professional and helpful. The breakfast was decent with a selection of food choices. I would recommend this hotel.

Great location, lovely room, breakfast was much better than most breakfast of that types. Hotel is close top the college close to the canyon and close enough to the Cadillac ranch. W would definitely return if in the area

Hotel is in a great location, strait ride to the park, maybe fifteen minutes. Maybe a mile or so to good restaurants. The room was oversize with two TV sets and 2 queen beds. Fridge, coffee and microwave in room.

This place was ok- clean and room was cool/comfortable (Ceasing fans were a nice touch and helped keep it cool). We arrived at 9:30 after driving all day- very disappointing to find the pool already closed for the night. Breakfast ended at 9 so my teens weren't happy about having to get up so early. Friendly staff and good breakfast selections. I don't feel like it was worth the $139 I had to pay, but it was OK.

We came in after 11 pm, air conditioner was on and room was cold!! Yay!!! We all slept like a rock. The breakfast was good and we would've stayed another night, but they were booked. Great place to stay!

We stayed here one night after going to see the Texas play in Palo Duro canyon. So, we got in late and left the next morning, but everything went well. We did have to leave before the Independence Day parade started as the road in front of the motel was about to close for the duration of the parade and that was the only way out. The breakfast was nice with several hot options. Rooms were spacious and comfortable.

I don't normally write reviews while still staying at a hotel, I will make this my exception. During our stay of of four nights the hotel staff cleaned our room but once. The rooms are large and accommodating. They are also clean when you arrive but don't expect your bed made, trash taken out, or towels changed while you stay. The staff that we talked to were all extremely friendly. We were, however, unable to get our room cleaned. We would leave in the morning about 9AM And not return until 3 or 4 PM. Cleaning staff are still cleaning rooms when we return. On our return visits I think that we will just stay up the road in Amarillo.

The first day we arrived it was great but the next day a family came in with a barking dog who barked non-stop. The bad part is that the person working at the front desk kept saying the barking was coming from outside. I asked him several times to check since we were trying to sleep, still nothing. Finally, I went upstairs where the dog was in the room above mine but apparently the owners had left the hotel so the dog barked nonstop. Even after I played the recording forJohn, the person at the front desk, this dog continued to bark. I was extremely relieved after we check out the following day.

Good place to stay while in Canyon, walking distance to West Texas A&M and just a short dive to Palo Duro Canyon. Ashlie at the front desk was very helpful when we checked in and even called our rooms shortly after we checked in to make sure everything was okay.

Everything was okay. The phone did not work in our room and I told the front desk but no one fixed it. Other than that the room and breakfast was average. The little girl was struggling to keep up with the breakfast. Ran out and you had to wait to refill. She was friendly though.

The BW Best Western is very well kept up and remodeled. Beds are great and it is very clean. Great for the play Texas and WT University parents. Breakfast was very good. We stayed here several years ago and will stay here again.

Clean rooms, plenty of towels, great hot breakfast and price was very reasonable. The only complaint that I had was when I used the vending machine it took my money and didn't get my drink because it got stuck and none of the employees had the means to refund my money. I did however get an email from the manager offering to send it to me. So I'd say they're pretty customer oriented.

Even the locals recommend this place. Near Pala Duro Canyon which is a don't miss natural beauty. Friendly staff, nice room, clean, quiet, good beds, great tv. Very nice variety of breakfast choices. 3 types of eggs, sausage, ham, bacon, yogurt and toppings, and more.

When we walked in the door we knew this was a great place to stay for a couple of nights. It was bright, clean, and the room was large with comfortable beds and plenty of room on top of furniture to put our things down. John and Lauren, at the front desk were both friendly, pleasant and efficient. We were offered a bottle of water as we entered and there was a basket of oranges and apples for the taking as well as lemon water. If I had a business I would hire either of them in a second! The breakfast was wonderful too. The outside of the building has been well kept also. This motel is worth the money.

This place is clean and the rooms are spacious! Definitely worth the money. Their breakfast is good and the all day coffee is great. They make sure to go out of their way to help you. The indoor pool is nice and so is the workout room.

Very comfortable and spacious room and excellent breakfast. And they are pet friendly-Rascal has been traveling with me for 15 years his comfort is important to me. My room was located close to the front of the building and the ice machine and vending were near by. Would definitely stay again!

We stayed at the BW Palo Duro Canyon Inn & Suites for 4 nights. We had a most enjoyable stay! The rooms were clean, comfortable, and quiet. Beds were so comfortable, I actually slept the whole night through without waking up with a sore back and neck, which is unusual for me when staying in hotels. The bathroom facilities were in good working order and clean. The large counter top provides plenty of space for all your stuff. We didn't use the indoor pool during our stay, but it looked sparkling clean and inviting. There's no hot tub, however, which was disappointing. The breakfast offered a good variety of foods and tasted as good as any restaurant. If you're staying multiple days, however, be advised that breakfast is served 'til 10 a.m. on weekends, but cuts off at 9 a.m. on weekdays. Nobody told us that when we checked in on Friday, so we ended up missing breakfast on Monday. (sad face) This is a great location if you plan to hike in the canyon, as it's only about a 15-20 minute drive to the park. Over all, this was a great place to stay and we will definitely return the next time we're in Canyon, TX.

They were out of coffee which is a no no for us! Wonderful Texas shaped waffles! Wish the shower was a little cleaner. Enjoyed our time relaxing on the couches watching movies before bed! Pizza delivery was available. Bed was comfortable. Ceiling fan made it a perfect temperature. Stay away from the eggs. Beautiful lobby! Wish I would have brought my swim suit

Was overall quite pleased with our stay here. Only about 15 minutes from Palo Duro Canyon. Clean and modern accommodations. Good variety of breakfast options though breakfast dining area was a bit on the small side. Same for the parking lot. It could be bigger. Wifi connectivity was also iffy. My iPad kept losing connectivity while my daughter's iPhone didn't. However, my iPad was fine at another hotel. Overall though, I would return here.

Great place to stay, redecorated and updated since last stay, been staying there for 7 years coming and going to Ruidoso NM from Oklahoma City. There's plenty of sights to see around Canyon and some excellent restaurants, our favorite Feldmans one way!

Was very clean and in a great location. Staff was very friendly and you can take your pets here also which makes traveling a lot easier when you have a nice place to stay and can bring your four legged family with you !!

We really enjoyed our night at the Best Western Palo Duro Canyon Inn & Suites. The staff was friendly and professional. It was nice to come in from a long trip to a comfortable motel with clean rooms and positive atmosphere. They have a delicious hot breakfast. I recommend this hotel to anyone who will be staying overnight in Canyon , Texas!

Stopped in with myself and my 2 littles. Room was comfortable with space for them to spread out and play (especially welcome after a lot of car time). Staff was welcoming and gracious. Able to grab a snack at night and full breakfast in the morning. Room was clean and comfortable. Parking close. Definitely recommend.

Found this establishment through Best Western's hotel look-up website by using the map option. Canyon location was $20-30 less expensive than Amarillo location and about 10 miles south. Turned out to be a great and happy surprise!

The facilities were clean and comfortable, decent selection for breakfast. Has an indoor pool and gym room. It's more than we usually spend when we travel but we didn't have much choice this time, as it was graduation weekend and most places were full.

Desk staff was friendly, but they need to do a better job with the rooms. Tub wouldn't drain; heat wouldn't work on low heat setting; and fan in bathroom didn't work. A little maintenance and the hotel would be much better.

Always have a great stay here. Convenient to the canyon and local businesses including WTAMU and museum just walking distance away. Friendly staff and clean rooms. Try Barrel and Pie for great pizza and whiskey cocktails.

Very clean and quite comfortable motel. Quiet and well located. Excellent front desk people. Very spacious room. Clean bathroom. Well above average stay. Our room had 2 tv sets, which was nice for viewing while sitting on the couch. Excellent idea! They also had the smaller luggage carts which are much easier to handle. Another good idea.

We were visiting for a special birthday celebration and the staff were excellent, especially Derek who even came up and helped when my mother-in-law's oxygen tank would not work. Rooms were clean and bed was comfortable. Breakfast had a good selection.

Room was great, bed comfy, but poor front desk service (bring your own extra pillows because they ran out at a low capacity night. Extra blanket we requested was thin and barely fit on bed. No housekeeping showed day 2

The room was very average, but did have 2 ceiling fans, which was a plus. No sleep timer on the TV (shouldn't that be a requirement??). No thermostat for the a/c or heat, just the dial on the window unit. You spend the 1st day guessing at what setting for comfort. The only ice machine was on the ground floor, and it wasn't working. Had to walk across the street and buy a bag to keep my beer cold!! The breakfast was better than average; eggs, sausage, potatoes, biscuits and gravy, waffles, etc. Overall, not bad, but nothing to really brag about.

We were traveling beck to Texas from New Mexico and were going to try to make it home that night. After dinner we realized that we were too tired. We stopped in and asked if there was a vacant room. The young lady at the desk was kind and most helpful. She quickly got us registered and in our room. The room was clean, roomy and comfortable. She reminded us about breakfast and asked that we not skip it. We went to breakfast the next morning and were pleasantly surprised. Everything was fresh and tasty. The lady working the breakfast area kept it well stocked and clean.

Beautiful hotel! It was clean and very safe. The saff was friendly, attentive and caring! I am highly recommending this location, especially for a woman traveling alone! It is located very close to the campus of West Texas A&M University!

After a long drive, its nice to receive a honest welcoming, and the offer of putting my bike in the lobby to keep it out of the rain was an unexpected delight. Great customer service and clean rooms. Whats not to like

We stopped in Canyon as part of a 3-week road trip and on the recommendation of friends regarding visiting Palo Duro Canyon State Park. The young woman who checked us into the Inn, recommended we visit the park the early evening we arrived as sunset is lovely at the park. We did just that and were very satisfied with our experience there.

We enjoy this hotel very much. Friendly staff and very clean. Breakfast is good. The location is excellent as well. I recommend this hotel to anyone that is staying in this area. It is only a 10-15 minute ride to Amarillo

The BW Palo Duro Canyon Inn & Suites is the perfect location to explore all their is to offer within a 50 mile radius. We were able to explore the Canyon, the Plains Museum (awesome), Cadillac Ranch, Amarillo, and Midway Route 66. The room was very nice and relaxing!

We stayed 2 nights at the Best Western Palo Duro Canyon, in a king suite. The room was spacious and included a sitting area with sofa, chair and tables...plus a desk. The bed area included a small dresser with TV atop and microwave and fridge within. There were 2 nightstands, each with contemporary lamp with an outlet in front. There was no safe or phone in the room. The bathroom was clean, and had good towels and quality toiletries. Much to our surprise, there were 2 ceiling fans in the room, one each in the sitting and sleeping areas. The hotel is right on the road, with a strip shopping center and gas station across the street. Our room faced the road, so had the expected road noise and light coming in around the curtain. The room also had its fair share of light pollution between the cable box, microwave, power light on the TV and alarm clock, plus lots of light coming in under the hallway door. The bed was comfortable and the room's climate control good. We missed having a wider array of TV channels. On road trips like ours, we like to watch cable shows on HGTV and History. These were not available, but HBO was. Breakfast included quite a few choices, and wasn't bad for this price point. There were eggs, sausage, potatoes, biscuits and gravy and DIY waffles in the hot selection, plus yogurt, breads, fruit, juice, cereal and more. The breakfast area was clean and well stocked. I only wished it was open later than 9 on weekdays. All in all, not a bad stay...but I wish we'd requested a room away from the road. If noise bothers you, ask for an even numbered room.

In all my years of travelling, I try to stay at Best Westerns as much as possible. My stays are between 1-2 days, sometimes as long as a week. I'd have to say, Palo Duro Canyon Inn by far exceeded by expectations. Very clean, easy access and was impressed by the room having ceiling fans. Makes you feel at home. I will stay at this hotel in the future.

Our granddaughter was getting married in Palo Duro Canyon so all attendees stayed at this hotel. It was a great experience, everyone enjoyed it. Staff was very helpful, the rooms were awesome, we could bring our dogs too.

The Best Western at Palo Duro Canyon Inn and Suites is a very nice place to stay.The front desk people were nice and friendly and made me feel welcome. The location to Palo Doro Canyon is very close by.A quick left out of the parking lot and a straight shot down the road for 13 miles. The room was clean with a nice comfortable bed. Breakfast was delicious with lots of choices and there was plenty of seating. It was very reasonable staying there and I will return the next trip to the area.

Stayed at this hotel during my travel to Colorado. Arrived at 6pm very friendly staff and quick check in. Reserved 2 rooms my mom needed 1st floor and they happily accommodated. Rooms had a musty smell when entering rooms however once a/c cooled off didnt notice smell. The beds were very firm and linens thin. Room and bathroom were clean. For a quick stay it was perfect.

About 20 minutes from Palo Duro Canyon, 20 minutes away. They made an error w/ our reservation and were "Oh well, you still have a room". Service could have been better, hotel was very nice. Included breakfast was good.

The room was clean and comfortable AC worked great even though it was close to 100 outside Good location if you are going to Palo Duro Canyon. The only negative was the free breakfast. The dining area was filled and the kitchen could not keep up. Still what can you expect for a free meal.

Went to Palo Duro Canyon, there are not many hotel options. Between BW and holiday inn, BW had the better reviews. The experience, however, turned out to be TERRIBLE. One of the rooms smelled like cigarette smoke, I couldn't breathe. The staff did not clean the two rooms booked. Seems like they did not service the entire second floor. The night staff was quick to send fresh towels, however, the day manager hardly seemed apologetic. Again, had a choice between two hotels closest to the park.

We stayed at the Best Western in Canyon, Texas because we were attending the Texas Musical in Palo Duro Canyon. We preferred staying in Canyon over Amarillo. This location was excellent. Our room was very roomy and comfortable. The breakfast offered a good variety of hot and cold items. The front office staff were really helpful and accommodating. We would definitely return to this location if we return to this area.

Great location to visit Palo Duro. Excellent staff, very helpful. Good breakfast. Comfortable beds and good sized room. Very close to A&M university and an historic museum. Not much else going on in Canton Texas, but it is also very xlose to Amarillo.

We stayed there prior to visiting paladuro's TEXAS. convenient, clean, friendly, and cool. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The breakfast didn't measure up to the rest of the hotel, but average for a hotel breakfast. We would stay there again and we would remember to check that we had wash cloths as soon as we got there so we would not be disappointed again. This was only a small negative with so many positives.

We stayed here one night, in order to visit West TX A&M. The beds & pillows were admittedly not comfortable, but the service was great. The fruit infused ice water in the entryway is a nice touch, but it was not kept filled, which was a bummer after coming in from the heat. They offer a solid breakfast, but the eating area is tight. It was pretty crowded, but the waffles were a hit. Not sure we'd stay again, simply because of the beds. We'd want to try another place - but - the staff was ver nice & the place was clean.

Very nice hotel. The hotel was very clean from the front door to/and including our room. Nice and quiet. Has a hot breakfast. The staff was friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again when we are in the area.

My daughter and I stayed here for one night on our way from Denver to Florida just so we could hike the extraordinary Palo Duro Canyon. The hotel is a great value for the price with a very helpful staff. The Front Desk associate let us have an extended check out time so we could enjoy the 6 mi Lighthouse Trail hike. And housekeeping was helpful in supplying plastic bags for our muddy shoes. All in all I'm glad we stayed!!

We reserved adjoining rooms with 2 queen beds in each room. We were very shocked and unhappy when we entered our rooms and discovered we had one bathroom for 7 people. The bathroom was also all inclusive. Didn't even have the sink on the outside section. We had one trashcan between the two rooms. No refrigerator, no microwave. Motel was clean. Breakfast was fine. Staff uncaring and unattentive.

This was our first trip to Palo Duro Canyon. The staff of the hotel was courteous and helpful with directions and information. The rooms were clean and quiet. The hot breakfast was decent and well stocked.

Recently spent the night after attending the Texas musical in nearby Palo Duro canyon. The facilities appear new, the rooms were spacious, even had ceiling fans (!). Breakfast was alright for an included breakfast, but it did have the requisite Texas shaped waffle irons. Wasn't there for long enough to try out all the amenities, but based on the quality I saw, I'd stay here when spending the night in the Amarillo area again.

We're fans of Best Western and typically spend a few nights at one on every road trip. The Canyon location just completed a remodel and looks great. The location is perfect for a trip to Palo Duro canyon. Just make a left turn out of the parking lot and drive straight for 15 minutes and you'll arrive at the park entrance. We love hiking, but Palo Duro can get HOT during the summer so it's nice to take a swim in the indoor pool then get a good night's sleep with air conditioning! There are some good restaurants in Canyon and they're only a few minutes away as well.

Nice, clean hotel. Breakfast was typical for hotel breakfast, waffles, eggs, potatoes biscuits plus cold alternatives. Staff was nice and took care of problems right away. We would definitely stay there again when visiting Palo Duro Canyon.

If you're visiting Palo Duro Canyon, but you're not a camper this is a nice place to stay while exploring the area attractions. The canyon is just a few minutes east down the same highway. Head west and you could walk to the Pan Handle Plains Museum or drive and take advantage of the free parking. Canyon is just 15 miles from Amarillo so you could hit Route 66 or the famed Cadillac Ranch while you're there. The hotel has an indoor pool, a coin laundry and a plain but surprisingly shady, breezy and cool patio out back. It's a nice place to relax and read a book after a day of hiking. Breakfast is free and the staff popped popcorn in the afternoon.

When we saw there was a suite with 4 queens it seemed too good. When I was making the reservation the room was described to me as two adjoining rooms. Perfect for our group if 7. Huge mistake. Only 1 bathroom for these two rooms. We had to use the bathroom in the lobby with this many people. Super inconvenient. We also did not have a refrigerator. In either room! We were traveling with two other people and their room had a ceiling fan as well as a fridge. But not us. Our dresser units just had a big empty space under the television. Breakfast was always crowded and the employee couldn't keep up with the food demand. Ended up just eating yogurt and toast one day and the second, we had to sit by the front desk since all 7 of the tables were packed full. A disappointing stay at Best Western. We pretty much only stay at Best Western motels and this was a huge disappointment.

This hotel has been undergoing a total remodel. The rooms are what you would expect in a west Texas college town. They were clean and included cable TV and internet. Hot breakfast was sausage and instant eggs. Not the best, but did have the usual cereal, bread goods, waffle maker, etc. Great coffee!! Entire town was full due to graduation weekend.

This hotel was very clean, had a delicious breakfast, and friendly, helpful staff. We felt this BW was a great find for a very fair price. We really enjoyed our stay. Great location, easy to find. Will seek out the Best Western brand in the future because of this hotel stay.

The hotel has changed ownership and management, that being said our stay was terrible. First they had our reservations wrong. We got that taken care of. This was graduation weekend for West Texas A&M and I had 2 boys graduating. I had also made reservation for my family and was truly disappointed. The rooms looked like they hadn't been cleaned. We had cracker crumbs and water lid bottles that were not cleaned up. Then my sister in law had them clean her room and she said it looked like they stopped midway. They just seem to leave. There were also bugs on the first floor. They are remodeling, but I don't see that as an excuse. It also looked like the maid service was using their children to help clean the rooms. (no excuse for this.) Our bills were also wrong. My brother-in-law did get help to correct his bill. Needless to say, I was truly disappointed and glad the boys have graduated. I will not be staying here again.

Pretty town. Great location for visiting Palo Duro Canyon. Clean. Helpful and pleasant staff. Decor dated but ok. Pillows? Tiny little half size bed pillows. Put 2 side by side & your head falls into the gap. Stack to get comfy to read? Forget it. Whatever $$ they saved buying tiny pillows cost them. I left 1 day early ratjer tjam spend another night in the bed. Great location, clean hotel, pleasant staff doesn't really matter if you cant sleep.

Hallway carpets were being redone, but staff was very kind. Rooms include both fridge and microwave. Internet was good. Breakfast was acceptable. Restaurant next door. Bring your own shampoo as they only have shampoo/conditioner combined.

I cannot say enough good about this motel. the staff was exceptional, friendly, helpful and efficient. The rooms very clean and bed comfortable. It is a great location near city center, near the Palo Duro Canyon state park. the breakfast was very good! They actually had REAL orange juice. I was impressed with this motel and recommend it.

This hotel was just lovely! I expected acceptable, decent, okay... but this place looked brand new. It was neat and clean, the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was not as luxurious as high end hotels but neat and clean and absolutely functional. Great value!

After reading the great reviews here I thought surely this would be a hotel my family would enjoy on our first ever family trip, as we went to visit Palo Duro Canyon. This was sadly not the case. We checked in at 10:30pm and the one staff person behind the desk kept interrupting our checkin and the checkin of the guest in front of us to answer the phone and help the person on the phone instead. I had two small, tired children and there was family with 3 small children behind us, all of whom ended up laying on the couch in the lobby or on the floor while we waited for the staff person to get off the phone. When she finally did, she had to start the checkout over for the person in front of me because she had forgotten all of the information while on the phone. It finally came to be my turn and then the process repeated itself! Started my checkin, phone rang, answered phone and left us standing there waiting, had to start checkin over again. We finally got to our room and it was clean and as we expected. However, the guests above us were LOUD and we heard stomping -- not just normal hotel footfalls, but stomping or someone was jumping off the bed -- until after 11pm. It woke my tired, was-on-the-floor son out of a dead sleep and he said, "Mama, what was that?" I asked the staff person at the front desk if she could please see if she could take care of it since it was so late, but it continued for another 20 minutes, when I asked again and she looked surprised, like she had completely forgotten about it. So we finally got to sleep close to midnight , and got up to enjoy the breakfast in the morning. It was a stressful, crowded breakfast as the cook didn't show up that day and the staff members were doing their best to get the food out. It happens, we rolled with it, despite being tired from our lack of sleep the night before. At checkout the morning staff person asked how our stay was and I briefly explained the trouble we had, and he said he would have a manager contact us. No one ever did, until I received an emailed survey and left an honest review of our stay in the survey, at which point I received an email saying I was going to be credited $13 for our inconvenience. The massive refund never showed up on the credit card so I replied to the email after about a week and asked if it would still be forthcoming, as I wanted to close the book on this hotel stay. I eventually spoke with the manager, and unfortunately I can now see where the problems began. While discussing my experience, he put me on hold for several minutes. Then a few minutes later, he asked if I could hold again. While I appreciate that the shoe was on the other foot, and perhaps he was helping a guest, it's a bit ironic. I'm said to say that my family's entire experience with this hotel and the staff has been poor. Although I would gladly visit Palo Duro Canyon again, I'm saddened to say that my experience at this Best Western has left a black mark on our first family vacation. We never felt valued as guests, but felt rather like "just another fee" that needed to pay and move along.

Enjoyed our stay and this nice and clean hotel. Friendly check-in service and a decent breakfast. Enjoyed the indoor pool too. My wife and I visited the Canyon with my brother and nephew and our stay was comfortable and uneventful.

Our room had not been remodeled yet. It had some problems: noisy ceiling fan, a nail in the carpet at the edge of the bathroom; curtains in dire need of repalcement as wll as some other minor (but annoying problems). But I would stay there again after the remodeling. They we very helpful and pleasant. Breakfast was the standard BW fare. No butter, only margarine (UCK)

We stayed for two nights while visiting Palo Duro SP. Hotel was satisfactory, staff were very friendly and responsive to requests, and breakfast was decent. A minor issue was finding a parking spot when we returned one night when returning about 10 pm.

I wanted to book for a same-night stay using miles, but the airline's site would only allow me to to book from one day out. I called the hotel and spoke with their representative, who told me that I could book using my miles for the night of 3/4 and that they would change it to a stay for 3/3 no problem. Awesome, I thought, and went ahead with the booking - being sure to make a note of who I spoke to regarding the date change. With that, I started my 5 hour drive to the destination with the assurance that I had booked a place to stay. Fast forward to 9:30 PM the evening of 3/3, we arrive at Best Western Palo Duro Canyon Inn and are informed that the lady I spoke to on the phone (not mentioning her name here) forgot to change my booking and that they booked my room to no one else. Okay, no big deal, I thought. I'll take another room, even a cheaper one would have been fine. Nope - not without paying again. So, not only did I lose all of my miles that I used to book a room under assurance of Best Western staff, I had to pay $85 with my credit card for the wrong room because of their mistake. Now I'm jumping through hoops to get them to refund me for their mistake. Paying the equivalent of roughly $200 for the wrong room in a 3-star hotel isn't fair and just isn't cool. Make this right and I'll amend my review.

A nice big room, great to have a bench to put your suitcase, lots of lighting, counter space in living area, great bed. Functional to have a separate living area with a couch and chair especially we were with another couple and would get together in one room to talk. Would have been an excellent stay if they had not painted the exterior driveway curb which produced a toxic smell for several hours throughout the hotel.

The room was very nice and clean . The breakfast attendant was very helpful and made sure the food stayed fresh and hot.The front desk staff were generous and helped out when I was having troubles with my TV. I will be coming back!

Front desk staff courteous, room ready upon arrival and quiet through the night. Rate was fair. Mattresses were hard and linens worn pretty thin. Water was luke warm so shower wasn't comfortable. Hotel rooms outdated and felt iffy. Renovation in the hallway areas was underway but they made this known on their website. Next trip to visit Palo Duro Canyon we will stay in Amarillo to have better hotel choices as well as restaurants, movies, shopping. Not much in Canyon.

Very nice Hotel! My room was clean and very large for a single. Large nice bathroom and quality appointments to the room ( TV, Frig, desk area to work at etc. ). Well kept pool and common areas. Great breakfast too! Sam I am.

Spent two nights. Upon entering and checking our room, it was evident the bathroom had NOT been properly cleaned. Toenail clippings in the floor; filthy sink with hairs; soap residue all over counter and soap dish holder. Nasty toilet! We nicely informed the manager, he took notes. I said I had pictures or would he like to come see. He said not necessary and would take care of it. We left for the evening and returned to NO cleaned up bathroom at all!! Called and talked to desk person. She didn't know anything about it and couldn't leave front desk. I went down and asked for some product so I could clean. She handed me a spray bottle and a rag. I asked for gloves. They had none. I cleaned my own bathroom!!! Next morning I told the manager what happened and he said”sorry” and offered no apologies or excuses for not taking care of the situation when we initially reported it. I asked for compensation and again all I got was sorry. Looked at me like I was the scum of the earth. If I could have left, I would have, but had to stay in that area. Room was cleaned some the next day but not well. Workshops are needed at this facility on cleanliness especially with so much prevelant sickness.

Room was very nice and clean and spacious with desk, couch, and chair. Nice bathroom. Microwave and refrigerator are a bonus. Breakfast was great and included sausage, eggs, waffles, etc. Well worth the stay.

We have stayed here before and it was not bad but this time it was. Hotel is under construction and dirty. Room smell of heavy fragrance and we did not stay our second nite. Holiday Inn next door is a better option.

This motel just had it all together. Very comfortable very clean and very respectful of what I needed. Locating the motel was relatively easy, and with Restaurant and gas station nearby made it very easy to take care of any of my other needs

I have stayed here twice and both times the staff has been very helpful. The rooms are clean and beds comfortable. My grandkids swam in the pool and loved it. I used the treadmill. Breakfast was good and filling. I will stay again.

We stayed for one night and were very pleased with our stay. The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Service was friendly; especially at breakfast where we were greeted welcome and taken excellent care of. Breakfast was good and tasty even if the selection wasn't big. This was a great place to stay before getting up and touring Palo Duro Canyon. My husband and I thought the night desk clerk was very friendly and helpful, the room was clean, and the amenities nice. The breakfast was sufficient and clean.

We were happy to have a warm friendly place to stay during the hectic holiday travel season. Topped off by a terrific breakfast that was presented in a clean organized and yummy manner. We are already rebooked for our next trip to Canyon!

While travelling from Montana to San Antonio for the Christmas Holidays we visited the BW Palo Duro Best Western again this year. The stay was convenient and comfortable. Front Desk associate, Stone, was very professional and efficient. The biggest positive change from prior visits (4) is the improvement in the Breakfast offerings. The new attendant (4 days on the job during our visit) was a true pleasure to see early in the morning. Her attention to detail and a sincere desire to accommodate all who came in was excellent. She was progressively attentive and sincere in her desire to serve "her guests". As a former Best Western Hotel owner I would hire her without any reservations. Housekeeping and the maintenance department needs to pay more attention to detail in the bathroom cleaning around and behind the toilet and maintenance of the tile flooring installation and grout. Outside grounds, especially in the rear of the hotel, are in need of attention. These three issues kept the hotel from receiving an "excellent" rating.

We were in Canyon, Texas to attend the WT A & M University graduation ceremony. We stayed at BW Palo Duro Canyon Inn & Suites due to the convenient location. Although the hotel was full to capacity due to the graduation, the accommodations and service were excellent! Very friendly and helpful staff!

This hotel has undergone an updating & is quite pleasant. Our room was very clean & the room service was excellent. The staff was helpful & friendly & the breakfast was one of the best we've enjoyed from many hotels. We couldn't swim because the pool was being finished. So in a few weeks, that'll be nice too.

This was an excellent hotel visit. My sister and I stayed 9 nights and it was consistently comfortable and safe with friendly and helpful staff who made sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend!

Stayed there with my family on our way to visit Palo Duro Canyon. Enjoyed very much. Staffs were awesome, they did the very best to make your stay enjoyable. About 10 minutes from the Canyon. Great snacks time as well.

My sons go to West Texas A&M. My youngest son had to have gallbladder surgery. We stayed here as usual. Stone could not have been more helpful. He checked us in and helped us get the best price for our stay. He was very concerned about our son. They allowed our son to stay with us for the night after he got out of surgery because his apartment is on the third floor and no elevator. Then my sister in law lost her cord to her phone. Stone just replaced it with some of the cords they had. They went way beyond what they had to. Always have had a good experience here.

Very afraid to stay at a Best Western -previous experience has been poor but the newBW is awesome. And Front Desk agent Stone was professional, sincere and caring to all he helped! Definitely recommend due too his service !

We have stayed several times and we always have a good experience. Because we love the Palo Duro Canyon and because this property is so close to it we always stay there. We found the staff to be very helpful.

We were traveling on I-40, and wanted to stay near Amarillo, but away from the heavy taffic areas. We found this hotel only a few miles away in Canyon. Perfect, quiet location. The hotel was fantastic, friendly staff, clean room, great hot breakfast!

Stayed 2 nights here instead of Amarillo with its road works and traffic issues. The hotel was undergoing renovations but it was still a great place to stay. The rooms, breakfast, wifi were as expected but the staff were outstanding. Their attention to guests and their needs was faultless and they were so very helpful without being intrusive. They remembered where you were visiting and what you were doing. You were made to feel special and valued.

Hotel is under renovation, but room was clean and comfortable and staff extremely was friendly and professional. Breakfast was adequate, but could have more healthy choices. Convenient to Palo Doro Canyon and restaurants.

Unfortunately the pool was being renovated when we were there, but, it's good that they are taking care of it and making sure it stays up to date and clean. The hotel, as all Best Westerns we have stayed at, have a a friendly staff, clean rooms and lots of towels :)

Excellent hotel in the TX panhandle - south of Amarillo. Very clean and updated rooms. Had a king suite - very roomy and well appointed. Bath neat and tidy, with updated fixtures. Breakfast had hot food items, tasty and fresh. Eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy - way beyond the waffle machine places. Bed very comfortable, nice pillows, good lighting to read in bed.

Our room itself was comfortable & clean. My wife & I often stay at chain hotels whose independent owners run their business "at the cusp", i.e., run their hotel/s at the ragged edge. Business philosophy is not hard to discern: How much will the owner invest into his/her aged, if not ossified, physical plant & how much will the owner pull-out of his or her premises in return-on-investment (ROI).

We came to run the trails of the Palo Duro Canyon. The Inn was very close and easy access to the Canyon. The Inn was easy to find and the Inn was very good. Room was clean and well kept, as was the Inn itself. We would not hesitate to book this Inn again.

Canyon, Texas is a great college town in the Texas Panhandle and the Best Western Hotel is a nice place to rest when the sun begins to set. The Hotel accommodations are very suitable and the Staff Members are there to help.

Met some college friends in Canyon. This is a very nice little hotel. The staff was all very friendly and helpful! The room is nice. The only suggestion I would have is a softer mattress like a pillow top or memory foam...but that's mostly a personal choice.

Great stay. The breakfast was very nice with plenty of good options. Room was very clean and looked recently renovated, but still had a cigarette smell. Two days after we checked out, we realized that we left my five-year-old son's jacket hanging in the closet. We called the front office and they had it for us. Great customer service. I would stay here again, no question. Great value for the price.

This is the second time I've stayed in this Best Western, and both times have been very pleasant experiences. The staff is very helpful and efficient, the rooms very clean and comfortable--and attractive. The hotel is conveniently located to good restaurants and to the beautiful Palo Duro Canyon State Park. Breakfast was very good--I'd like more selections of fresh fruits and more whole wheat options for even better one!

This was an average, good enough place to stay until just as we were falling asleep I heard someone trying to get into our room. We were very tired, and I let it go as a mistake for a while but then called the front desk to let them know. At some point I went to the door and yelled at whoever was out there to go away! I was almost asleep again when the phone rang, asking me what my name was. I told the front desk clerk and was getting angry at the interruption. As I was almost asleep, these events are not well remembered.... but then after getting back in bed and again feeling like all should now be well there was another call, now from the manager at the front desk, asking me to come down with identification and a credit card. I dressed and went down in anger where the manager, Brandon and I figured out that we had been booked into a room that had been promised to someone else. Indeed, Brandon showed me the computer generated registration form and it was not my name on the top, yet I had signed it. My bad for not checking, sure, but not my bad to begin with; the clerk didn't check either! Brandon was clearly trying his best to straighten out the mistake, but I was quite angry by this time, and felt some compensation was due me. Brandon claimed that I didn't even have a reservation, tho I checked my electronics later and found that I did. SOOOOOO I gave Brandon my credit card so we could be appropriately charged for the room (Brandon declined my request to comp the room), and finally got back to bed and eventually, once calmed down, I went to sleep. Staying in a strange place tends to put us in a vulnerable frame of mind, and this experience was quite disturbing to my sense of peace and safety.

Stayed one night. Huge room. Breakfast was a bit haphazard. There was a long wait for the hot food due to being only one girl on duty. Not her fault. We went to restaurant next door for dinner, the food was pretty good.

The staff went out of their way to make sure we were pleased with our room and stay in Canyon, Texas. I would definitely stay at this location anytime we are in the area. Palo Dura Canyon is a beautiful area to visit and this motel was a perfect place to stay during this trip.

This hotel was one of three in the city of Canyon and a good representative of the Best Western chain. Our room was large, clean, and comfortable and check in was smooth. I would comment on breakfast but we slept right through it. That was nice.

Stayed here to visit Palo Duro Canyon. Excellent hotel .. super comfy beds, clean and great service. Nice, hot breakfast. We are traveling with our little dog so nice that the hotel is pet friendly. We highly recommend Best Western Palo Duro Canyon hotel ... and the canyon !!

For the outside the place was very clean and tidy, a gas station and store over the road, a number of eating places in the area. Check inn was very quick, the reception area was clean and tidy. The room was clean and well presented. I had noticed this place is under new management and has been having a new lick of paint along with some other improvements. At no time did this impact on our stay. Any problems we had were sorted at once. We found the staff every friendly and all willing to help. The hotel was very quiet, the wifi worked well.

Frint desk employee, Courtney, was friendly and helpful. Being pet owners we were happy to find out our two dogs were free, and hotel provided nice grass areas. We ALWAYS pick up after our pets!! Room was clean and comfortable, especially enjoyed the table in our room to eat our take out dinner from across the street at Pony Express Burrito. Bed was very comfy. Room even had a ceiling fan! We left at 3am so didn't get a chance to enjoy breakfast hotel provided. Bathroom was clean and good lighting with enough towels, guest soap & shampoo. We will most likely return to this hotel upon our return trip!!

One night stay. We chose this hotel due to all the recent 5 star reviews on Trip Advisor along with its location to Hwy 27. On the positive side: the gentleman that greeted us at the front desk and checked us out in the morning was warm, friendly and helpful and the beds and pillows were comfortable. The property, under new management and ownership per sign outside, was dingy, outdated and not well-maintained: Scuffs on walls, doors not wiped down, paint needing touch up and dirty elevators. The parking lot was full of gravel, small rocks and dried mud which made rolling your suitcase a challenged as the wheels kept getting hung up on the small rocks. The room was musty (thought it was cigarettes when we first walked in) and tired, sheets dingy and shower curtain had that unappealing dingy area across the bottom from soap scum and sitting in water. Breakfast: tables, food counters, floors not kept wiped up from other's messes. Attendant not keeping food area clean. Challenge to find a clean table. Mediocre food selection. This place needs an overhaul. Five stars?? Note: you are in cattle feed-lot country so you will most likely smell that in the air.

This is a convenient place to stay if you are on the road or planning to visit the beautiful Palo Duro Canyon state park. It's right off Interstate 27, we easily made a reservation that afternoon, check in was friendly and efficient and the room was quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was adequate and again the service was very friendly. We would stay there again if in the area.

Convenient to Palo Duro Canyon, which was the primary reason for our stay. Helpful, friendly staff. It's obvious they are into delivering a great customer experience. We were in and out without any issues. Recommend this facility.

We stayed at the Best Western in Canyon and it was a very nice hotel, clean, nice staff, comfortable bed and we would stay there again. I recommend me. It was very close on palo duro Canyon which was the reason we drove there.

My recent stay at the Best Western Palo Duro Canyon was a pleasant one. Convenient from where we have family in Canyon. Hotel staff was very nice and accommodating. I would recommend this hotel. A little pricey but competitive with the neighboring hotel.

The family and I stayed here in early August for one night on our way to New Mexico. Our major issue: our room STUNK. Like, real bad. Like, "I don't want to spend another second in this room, much less sleep" bad. After entering the room, we called the front desk, who told us that they couldn't move us to any other room because there were no available rooms. The front desk employee came up to our room and confirmed himself that the room indeed stink, and they previous guest had also complained about the odor. (That apparently didn't stop them from putting my family in the room. Sigh.) The best they could do at the time was bring up some sort of electric "deodorizer" device. Whatever the device was, it made the smell even worse. We told the guy at the front desk that it didn't help, and he said that was all they could do and that I should speak to their GM in the morning. We put pillows over our heads while we slept and tried to fight through it until the morning. In the morning, I spoke to another front desk employee (not a GM), who also told me there was nothing they could do, and encouraged me to call the company I booked the room through. After calling the booking company, they apparently convinced the hotel to give me a whopping 15% off my night's stay. I supposed that was better than nothing, but I and others in my traveling party thought I shouldn't have had to pay a dime for the room. It was that bad. The location of this place was fine, and Best Western is typically a solid choice, but due to the smelliness of our room and the hotel's unwillingness to do much about it, I wouldn't stay here again.

This was a group bus trip organized by the Gateway Baptist Church in Denton, TX. We spent the night at the Best Western and the bus took us to the Palo Duro Canyon where was say the play "Texas". If you have not been to the Palo Duro Canyon and seen the play you should definitely make it as soon as you can. The Canyon is unbelievable and the Park Rangers have wonderful stories and lores about the Canyon. The Play was fascinating with singing and dancing and horses. Our hotel was clean and everyone friendly and helpful. A full breakfast at the hotel comes with your room including; hot eggs, sausage, bacon, sweet rolls, fruit and waffles. A great trip!

We stayed in the "Queen Suite" which in reality was a converted maintenance building outside of the hotel. We enjoyed the solitude. Parking was excellent. The bathroom was in good shape. Hot water was plentiful. The "kitchen" sink is corroded and not worthy of a "suite". The door did not have a peephole, the chain latch was broken, the slide lock did not engage, the deadbolt was not functional, and there was no "do-not-disturb" placard available. The "suite" had enough cupboard and drawer space for a small apartment but no pots, pans, dinnerware or silverware. The microwave was the only cooking appliance. Counter top lighting was non-existent. Wiring for the TV, microwave, and coffee was unorganized and ran up through the countertop. The bathroom was excellent and up-to-date. The "suite" had no couch, comfortable chairs, or coffee table. The furnishings consisted of two nightstands, one queen bed, two chairs and a small square table. The legs on the table were shaky. The staff at the hotel are friendly and accommodating. They even pointed out that we had missed a discount and credited it to us. Overall, the room was not worth what we paid for it; especially after seeing other rooms inside the main facility. This "suite" is not a suite and is not worth the price that we paid.

Convenient to Palo Duro Canyon State Park. Rooms are large but dated. Need a good deep cleaning. Staff was friendly. Sign states the property is under new ownership and management so maybe they will spruce up the place.

The floor was sticky and smelly. The 2nd morning the "hot breakfast" was no where to be found. The clerk said they were out of eggs and bacon. We were there at 6:15am. They had to know they were out the previous day.

We stayed here with our teenaged grandkids. It was clean and comfortable and the staff was so friendly. A full breakfast is served. It is conveniently located in the city of Canyon, which is an easy drive to the state park.

Very nice, new looking rooms. Very clean and pleasant. Breakfast was better than normal complimentary fare, Highly recommend. Price point great for USG employees. Great location, right off of main travel route.

Stayed 1 night. Hotel is ok What you would expect. Our room on the first floor had a couple of big stains on the carpet which had never makes you feel comfortable. And being on the first floor it was really loud due to the proximity to the parking lot and everyone leaving /slamming doors in the morning. The best part was the young man who checked us in. He was very friendly and gave us the best options for the best food and drinks in the area.

The rooms were large and comfortable. Was very pleased except for the toilets were not clean at all. Disgusting layer of black all under the rim. The staff was pleasant. Check in and check out were very easy.

I want to first say that they hotel tried hard to make things right. But, there were just so many problems to overcome! Problem 1 - the TV not only didn't work, it was not even hooked up. It was a gorgeous new flat screen TV...but it wasn't even hooked up. Not even a remote control anywhere in the room. I was sick so my husband wanted to watch movies. The manager on duty said the repairman was on the way. One hour passed. Two hours. Three hours. Five hours passed. My husband stared at the walls and then fell asleep at 10pm. When my husband pulled back the covers, he found a hole in the sheet and the pillow covers on inside out. BIZARRE...and unacceptable for Best Western standards. Next morning, they manager said they couldn't find the repairman and didn't know when the TV would be hooked up. All the employees were bending over backwards to help make our stay better, but how were they to reconcile holes in the sheets, a TV that isn't connected and a repair man who has disappeared? They could not salvage our stay, but I do not blame them. The place changed managements and they were simply not ready to re-open. I cannot recommend this hotel at this time but with a little more time, money and attention to detail, I think they can make it work. They had the personal pride in their product, they just need time to turn it around. Good luck!

Best Western has always served us well in the past, but this particular one was absolutely terrible. We arrived around 9 PM and checked in. The first thing we noticed was that there was hair on the sheets of the fold-out sofa. We complained to the management and they gave us fresh sheets and a blanket. We also noticed that the carpet in our room had multiple stains on it. The light switch to the entry was broken and would not turn off. The remote for the second TV was missing and we had to go to the management to get a replacement. The indoor pool was cold and the hot tub was "under construction." At night, we could hear the family above us jumping around until 1 a.m. Worst of all, the breakfast the following morning was the greatest disappointment we have ever experienced from a Best Western hotel! We came an hour before the officially 9 AM closing time. There were no eggs, sausages, juices, or resupplies of anything. My daughter had no milk for her cereal or juice to drink. The pancake mix was all used up. Our family of five was basically jipped out of a $40 breakfast. The attendant simply said that the supply truck had not shown up. If a customer goes to a restaurant and is told that the steak he ordered is not available and is given bread instead, the customer would expect to pay for the bread, not for the missing steak. Many families, including ours, choose the hotels they stay at based on the availability and reputation of the breakfasts. The management at this particular establishment did not seem to care at all. They offered no reduction in price for our stay or voucher for a future price reduction. Our strong recommendation is to avoid this hotel. Caveat emptor!

The hotel accomodations were comfortable and affordable. The room was clean, linens were warm, and the air conditioner worked very well. The breakfast included scrambled eggs, bacon, and biscuits with gravy for those that like gravy. Staff were friendly and accomodating.

We thought that this BW was very nice but somewhat pricey when we stayed first time, so booked ourselves here on roadtrip again this summer when we found a great online rate. Very poor experience all the way around. Room furniture had tons of debris under the cushions, our carpet was stained, public areas no longer clean, elevator slow and luggage carts nearly nonexistent. It's bad enough that other guests smoke a couple of feet outside the front door, but the front desk clerk constantly on smoke break there? We won't be back.

I initially wanted to camp at Palo Duro state park, but was afraid it would be too hot to camp and the cabins were too small for our family of five. I should have camped. The hotel was one of two hotels in Canyon, Texas. It was dingy and just didn't feel clean. On the up-side the location was close to the state park and the highway. There's free breakfast and the front desk was decently friendly.

We arrived at the hotel at 2:00pm. We were told that check in was at 3:00 and our rooms weren't ready yet. That was fine, but it was worth checking anyway since we had been driving for five hours. We went driving around and came back a little after 4:00 and our rooms still weren't ready. This was a bit annoying. The staff wasn't very apologetic about the situation. I guess some of the cleaning staff didn't show up. Other than that, the rooms were clean, the pool was clean and refreshing, and we enjoyed breakfast every morning.

I got a great deal for this hotel. If you book at this location, get the top floor. We stayed on the first floor and heard footsteps early in the morning. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Indoor pool was nice and the kids enjoyed it. Breakfast was good but if you don't make it by 9am, some food will still be left out.

This hotel was transitioning to new management during our stay. They did a stellar job of training new employees as they were upgrading amenities & taking excellent care of guests. We will return if we are in the area again!

This Best Western was very nice hotel for the price. Every staff member was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good...waffles, eggs, bacon etc. Within walking distance to West Texas A&M College. Very short drive to Palo Duro Canyon.

The Best Western in Canyon is a great deal! A little cheaper than neighboring hotels, we found it to be clean and very roomy. The beds were very comfortable and we enjoyed the extra items that were available at the continental breakfast. The indoor pool was clean and the hotel was well kept overall. We would definitely stay there again!

A very nice location close to the outdoor drama "Texas", very comfortable and quiet, good breakfast, very attractive interior, nice staff. Fifteen miles from outdoor drama. Popular hotel, but the parking can be a little tight.

We traveled to Canyon to visit family and to see the production of "Texas" at Palo Duro Canyon. We were surprised upon arrival to see a large group of people waiting for their rooms. We had arrived after the usual 3 PM check-in time but were not given our room until 4:30 PM. The room was barely OK - furniture was stained, shower curtain a dirty, stained mess, etc. Threadbare, stained washcloths, shabby overall. Bed was comfortable, sheets seemed clean. Breakfast was sparse at best. Not a good experience!

If you are visiting Palo Duro Canyon this is the best location to do it from.The hotel was under going a change of ownership when we stayed but the staff was doing every thing possible to make there customers feel welcome. Palo Duro Canyon will be the high light of anyones trip. With its awesome views and fantastic show Texas.

Avoid. Worst Best Western experience ever. Understaffed and under trained. No management presence and little concern by employees. Breakfast area was a disaster. Trash overflowing can, no OJ in the machine, shortage of items to eat. dirty, etc. Check in took 5 to 10 minutes to have someone show up at counter. (I think the one person had to do everything and was busy taking care of some other issue elsewhere in the hotel.) No pillows available for the pull out couch bed, "We are out." Had to get towels and bedding for the third person and the pull out couch bed.

We checked in very late. The young man at the desk was doing a job and had no personality. I asked for maps of the hotel and the area and none existed. He provided me with a printout of some information on the Canyon, but it was of poor quality and not really readable. The room was nice and clean and the bed was comfortable. They state they provide complimentary water, but when we asked about it, we were told that they were out at the front desk and they rest were locked in the manager's office. This did me no good whatsoever.

The hotel and staff were nice. Breakfast was good, and our room was clean. I would stay again! We appreciated the free bottled water and the only problem we had was with the TV and remote control. We had to call for someone to come properly sync the TV/remote, and apparently other guests had the same issue.

OK, 5pm and the room isn't ready. None of the TVs work. The poor girl who works the front desk is clueless and rude, unapologetic and empowered to do nothing. The ice machine/soda machines are broken. Should have stayed in Amarillo.

We stayed in a nice comfortable roo, but...the bed was clean but the dust ruffle was hanging off the bed in places and tucked all the way under in other places. All the mirrors need cleaning especially bathroom. Vanity needs a deep cleaning instead of a quick wipe down. Tub stained, carpet stained, looks like a deep cleaning would fix everything. The morning desk clerk was real nice and said she would talk to housekeeping about the room. Breakfast was nice with a lot of choices.

Check-In Clerk seemed more interested in socializing with friends in the office than helping guest. One ice machine on 1st floor only is unacceptable, especially with only one slow elevator. If there was any manager on-duty during my stay their presence was not noticed or effective.

Clean the room! Check in time was 3:00 pm and the room wasn't 'ready' until 6:30 pm. The check in clerk apologized and promised to call when the room was ready. We went next door to a restaurant and never received a call. We returned at 6:30 to receive a terrible room. It was extremely dirty. Bug and toilet paper on the bathroom floor, a piece of pizza crust in the ice bucket and the carpet looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in weeks. The bathtub was caked in soap scum and the hair dryer cord and label were filthy. Only one luggage cart was available. When we complained about the cleanliness, the manager said she changed the sheets herself and assured us that they were clean. The housekeeper standing behind her just rolled her eyes. Next time we will stay at the Holiday Inn next door. This motel had very few people staying there so the room should have been ready and clean when we arrived. The Holiday Inn next door was packed. I now understand why. We were given a mere discount from $88 to $70 but that did not compensate for the frustration we felt.

Keep the bath towels,hand towels, wash cloths clean. Keep the sheets on the beds changed with clean sheets. Keep the TV's working. Keep the rooms, hallways, and facilities clean. Keep the drink machines full, so one does not have to leave the facilities to go buy a drink. Keep regular coffee in the rooms and you should never run out of coffee during breakfast. Should I go on or do you have the picture?

We chose to stay at this hotel because it was a Best Western and because AAA had given it a high rating. Despite receiving a warm welcome when we checked in, the rooms were not clean. Upon receiving our concerns, we were moved to different rooms, which unfortunately, were not much cleaner than the first ones. The dining room also was quite unclean and the trash containers were running over. I hope that management will address these concerns as it really is a nice hotel.

I booked the hotel because it was close to WTAMU. We were coming up for new student orientation. We checked in after 4:00 and the room was still being cleaned. The vending machine was out of product the entire stay (2 nights). There were two large parties at the hotel - a family reunion group and a wedding party. So in the morning the breakfast was very busy and on Sunday by 8:30 - there was no food out. Bagels had mold on them. Trash cans in the breakfast area was overflowing with trash. The bed was comfortable but bring your own pillow. The room had a ceiling fan. I thought it was odd but was glad it was there because we could not get the room cool enough. For the price, I will stay in Amarillo next time and get a better room.

The hotel was nice and convenient for visiting Palo Duro Canyon. The only issues we had were there was hair all over our bed so we had to call and get the bedding replaced. Also, the breakfast was good but they were unprepared for the amount of guests they had. They were running out of everything for breakfast. Other than that we really enjoyed are stay there.

Decent for the price. Can be noisy depending on who else is at the hotel. Free wi-fi, is nice. Really close to main area of campus. Breakfast was typically eggs and waffles. It's is included with the room, so it was worth it.

Front desk girl, Autumn, very helpful and accommodating. But unfortunately it was not very clean and seemed understaffed. Perhaps in need of better management. We most likely would not stay here again.

We stayed here for a free night on a road trip. The hotel is like stepping into a time portal into the 80s. The rooms were large and the bed was comfy, but it is dated and could use a face lift. Their was also rust on some of the bathroom. Breakfast was good but underwhelming, the pool area was good, parking was easy and the WiFi seemed good.

Loved this hotel when we stayed there in 2015, but it's fallen quite a few notches. Careless cleaning, indifferent front desk, dirty hot hallways, soiled carpet in room, trash under cushions of room couch/chair. One luggage cart for three floors of rooms. Won't bother staying there again.

Hotel very well located. Near Museum, University, Palo Duro Canyon and restaurants. Easy exit from city when leaving. Staff very professional and helpful. Free breakfast better than most - bacon, sausage, eggs, breads, fruit, waffles, and more.

The only good thing was the price. This hotel is dirty. No one seems to vacuum or clean the place at all. I refused to eat the free breakfast based on the filth I saw on the lobby floor, in the halls, on the elevator and in our room. The walls are dirty and scarred up and the only good part was a decent night's sleep on a comfortable beda and the fact that they take small pets. Won't be back.

Enjoyed our stay at this property. Staff were very friendly and helpful, room was clean and comfortable, everything worked, and breakfast was good as the standard breakfast fare gets. If you're nitpicking, you could say the rooms were on the small side, but wasn't a problem for our family of four. Convenient to the Panhandle Plains Museum and Palo Duro Canyon.

Hotel was full just before we got there, so there were late check outs. But our room was ready. The room was large with ceiling fans and a large bathroom. One of the TV's did not work but that was fine with us. Décor is nice and the room was very clean. Hotel staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast area is large and has a long table for family seating. Coffee was good, food selection well thought out and spaced nicely and this hotel has a Texas shaped waffle maker. We saw several dogs at this hotel, so it is pet friendly.

We've over-nighted both at the Best Western- Canyon AND many times also at the next-door Holiday Inn Express- Canyon. We're not sure how the Holiday Inn Express- Canyon gets-away with charging so much for its rooms which are a tad newer but on the whole much the same as Best Western's rooms.

Nicely kept older property. Clean rooms and comfortable beds. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Breakfast area is the weak point. Limited choices not the problem. Ran out of food one day. Had to find front desk manager. Next day out of beverage cups (coffee/tea). Customers rummaging through cabinets. Advised front desk and attendant. Took a while to get sorted out.

This Best Western is full of friendly staff. The room was very clean and bed was comfortable. The dining area is just the right size and they have flavored coffee creamer (always a plus). Pet friendly and large/wide hallways. Elevator is slow, but roomy and works fine. Stairs located at end of hall are well maintained. This is the good side of town. Parking was adequate. We had a pleasant stay in the king suite on 3rd floor.

My bridesmaids and I got ready for our big day here and on our way out, the front desk helped us all take a couple photos and were genuinely excited for us! Your workers are exceptionally sweet and made our stay great!

Not a good place to stay unless to visit the Palo Duro canyon. Breakfast was not good. No milks, no dishes, no creamers when I was there in the morning so I had to ask and wait. Only one luggage carrier.

My daughter goes to WTAMU and I have stayed at this hotel on the average of 3 times a year since the summer of 2015. I noticed a change in the cleanliness feeling about a year ago the minute I walked into my room. The main thing that caught my eye was the bed skirts were wrinkled and askew. The next thing I noticed was a water bottle cap on the headboard and coins on the floor. This was so different from my previous stays that I asked management if their housekeeping staff had changed because it had always felt so clean before. I believe this was my 4th stay since things changed and it will probably be my last. The sheets and pillowcases are wrinkled (4 stays), bed skirts wrinkled and askew (4 stays), dead flies in the window track (2 stays but I didn't check the other times), yellowed thin towels (3 stays) (although the towels were much better this trip). The staff was really nice but they can't make up for the issues with the cleanliness of the the room. This trip included stains on one fitted sheet, stains on both chairs, stool/ottoman and luggage stand, drawers not wiped out, hair on the shower wall, lamp shades stained and crinkled, plastic shield on A/C unit dirty. I don't expect perfection but I do expect a room to "feel clean". I refused to sit anywhere except the bed and I had to put something over the stained stool/ottoman so I could put my luggage on it. This stay was only slightly better than my last stay (towels and shower curtain) but I am returning to Canyon in August but my reservation is with a different hotel.

The room and bathroom were clean except for the shower curtain. The bed was comfortable and we had plenty of room in the King Suite. I had bacon, scrambled eggs, apple juice, and hot tea. Also available were waffles, cereals, etc.

We stayed here for two days (4/26 and 27) while visiting Palo Duro Canyon. The hotel is easy to find and close to the park (12 mi. +/-). The staff was very nice (prompt, helpful with dining options). Our room (third floor) was clean and comfortable although the couch and chair were a bit dated). There is an elevator. The internet is fine for email and searches. The TV has a decent choice of channels. The breakfast was OK, (the gentlemen handling it struggled to keep up with a relatively small breakfast crowd) with the highlight being waffles in the shape of Texas (only one of the waffle makers has this) which was fun. The rooms were reasonably priced and we felt they were a good value. We would stay here again.

Not only was this a very good hotel price/quality and good free full hot bfst and excellent free internet but it was minutes away from one of the best museums in Texas [Natural History on the campus] but it was only a 20 min drive to PALO DURO CANYON State Park which was a real discovery ! it is really a mini Grand Canyon but the hikes in it are superb and the colours in late afternoon magnificent; also abundant wildlife: foxes, deer, turkeys, dozen of birds and the occaional rattle snake . Also dozens of road runners and not crowded at all. Do not forget to visit CAPROCK Park as well and Turkey town .and drive along 70 like in the 50ties : 4 cars in 3 hours ! So forget Amarillo but do visit the Cadillac Ranch and part of Route 66 there .

We usually stay in this hotel when we visit Canyon. We have two sons going to West Texas A&M. I can always count on help from the friendly employees at this hotel. I was a little disappointed in one of the rooms. It looked like it had not had a through dusting in a while up around the curtains. There were a lot of cob webs. This was not the case with the other room we booked. We will still stay here because this staff is very helpful and friendly. I am sure they will get this corrected.

We sere very please to find this place. The staff were young, and very helpful. The room was spotless. The breakfast was well supplied and the attendant stayed on top of the needs of the people eating.

My spouse and I spent 2 nights at the BW Palo Duro Canyon Inn in a king suite. It was comfortable and about 15 miles from Palo Duro Canyon. We didn't use the pool and the hot tub was out of order. There's the Buffalo Restaurant next door which makes for an easy walk for dinner. And it's a short drive to the Panhandle-Plains Historical museum, which is worthy of a visit.

This was my third time staying at the property since our child has started to attend West Texas A&M University. All I can say is that I give this place 2 Thumbs Up like always! Staff was friendly and courteous from Check-in to Housekeeping, and Breakfast. Manager Christine is especially a treat, she really cares about the guests at her hotel. It seems the hotel was undergoing some renovations at the time I was staying, which is fantastic. The noise never bothered me, and I am looking forward to any additions the hotel will be adding for my next stay. Glad to finally see the owner putting in some effort! His/her staff really outshine the current property, I could easily mistake them for employees of a Mariott or similar!

Really just a very poor Best Western. While the room was OK, the door was knocked of the hinges to the laundry room. Someone kept leaving the door to a storage room wide open though it was a shambles. There were leaves and dead flowers on the landing of the stairs for all four nights I stayed. Without question, it has the poorest quality breakfast buffet in my experience. Eggs and meet product cold, out of items. I wrote a review on the Best Western site the other day, unlike many positive reviews I have written, this one has not received a reply. I suspect management has their head in the sand.

This hotel was just ok. We thought we ask for a king non smoking. We got a king with a queen bed in there also. Which was ok. Didn't hurt a thing. The tub was kinda old and stained but it worked ok other than pressure in shower was too light for my liking. Beds and pillows were pretty comfortable but beds in our room had vedskurts that were all jacked up but there again didn't hurt anything. There were two ceiling fans. The one closest to the beds had no way to turn it off or adjust and that was a little problem. Overall it was ok. But it wasn't anything special.

Location to WTAMU is about 2 blocks, popular hotel for any event in Canyon, Tx. Clean room, friendly staff, I didn't use wifi so not sure, but plenty of TV channels and a decent self serve breakfast. We would stay again especially during football season, and nothing really stands out , no real negatives either a decent value for the price.

Friendly check in, beds comfortable ,pillow fairly flat. Worse breakfast ever,.refrigerator .cold gravy in crackpot, bacon tasted like plastic, sausage Luke warm,eggs were terrible, juices were 95% water.

Nice and clean. During check in the young man was very nice and professional. Check in and check out was seamless. Room was clean and quite. Gave me a late checkout with no issues. Pillows were too small and uncomfortable but did the job.

Stayed 3 nights with my brothers on a guy's trip to the canyon. Had stayed here previously with my wife and 3 kids. The King/Queen suite room is a great layout - two areas and plenty of space - lot's of square footage and a nice L-shape. Room was clean and quiet during our stay. Price was right. Perfect location for those going into the canyon on day-trips - straight shot down the highway. Also within walking distance to the Panhandle Plains Museum and restaurants. Would be 5 stars except - major safety issues in the workout room. Two of the floor electrical sockets for the equipment were completely pulled up with all the wires exposed - need to fix that immediately before someone gets into it! Also, the bench collapsed when I laid on it, and the dumbbell plates do not secure well enough - maybe go to a rack with fixed-weight dumbbells to eliminate that as well as the loose plates laying about the room. Surprised by this.

I've stayed at many other BWs across the country -- it's our go-to road trip hotel because we travel with our German Shepherd mix. This particular one felt more like a motel quality, despite being over $100 a night. The carpet was stained, the walls were thin, the TV was glitchy, the soaps in the bathroom were cheap, the beds didn't have a comforter/duvet, just a fleece blanket sandwiched between two sheets. My advice: keep driving a bit further. The Lubbuck BW is MUCH nicer.

Visited to reserve a block of rooms for upcoming wedding. No one at desk. Rang bell, no response. Waited several minutes and rang bell again. Someone finally arrived and greeted us with "yes". She couldn't help us and said she would have to get the manager. Manager was outside smoking and did NOT interrupt her smoke break to help us. We left! There is a Holiday Inn Express right across the street. It is a much nicer facility and we we met by professional staff who were eager to help us. Book with them and you wii have a much more positive experience.

Décor was fine but maintenance of some areas lacking. Small things like "dings" in Bathtub and cracks in drywall in some places. Had ants and flies in room that were not obvious at first and too late to ask for a change of rooms. A couple swats and tissue paper picking up ants solved the problem. When the ants and flies were mentioned at checkout all the clerk offered was to say that maintenance would be called to spray room and thanks. No regrets or apologies. Bathroom floor and breakfast room floors were sticky. Breakfast was poor. No improvement from last report from 2 years ago. The breakfast attendant was happier spending more time at front desk than in breakfast attending to poor presentation and low levels of eggs.

Great price for a king "suite", they call it a suite, but an elongated room, but still price is right. Breakfast was good, but one day ran out of bacon, the other they ran out of coffee. I would go again though

We stayed here one night to watch our son's team play at WT. Room was ok. Pretty clean if you aren't looking too close. Bed skirts on both beds were torn, tucked in and crooked all around each bed. Just sloppy looking. When I plugged in my charger behind the night stand there was a bloody tissue and some coins. Just shows the rooms aren't thoroughly checked. Lobby is tiny. Breakfast was very typical for this kind of hotel- nothing fresh, no fruit. There aren't a lot of choices in Canyon so I would probably stay here again, but not for certain.

Nice hotel, pet friendly, comfy bed. The linens here are old and even though they are clean they don't look it. The ceiling fan in our room had layers of dust on it. Very cheap tissue and toilet paper, but good shower pressure. There is a huge cobweb on the ceiling. We would stay here again due to the proximity to the Canyon and the hotel being pet friendly. Maybe the housekeeping staff could use some coaching.

My family and I stayed at this Best Western hotel in Canyon, Texas this year. We schedule way in advance due to the fact the hotel is always clean, rooms and beds are very comfortable, location for what we need is perfect and all the staff we need help with are so helpful and friendly. Not too crazy about the breakfast but the experiences of staying at this hotel outweighs that. We will definitely make every effort to stay at this hotel every time we are in Canyon.

Lots of issues, nothing major but here is an example. No hot breakfast food on Friday morning at 8:15.... passed 3 employee's while I was going to the breakfast bar. Several guest waiting for breakfast and looking around. No employees at the front desk or in the food area. Most of us left so I dont know when the hot food got made (if ever). Sheets and towels seem to be very old and very cheap. The towels in the pool area are so badly stained I wouldn't advise using one unless you really have too. Seems like management has decided to sacrifice service and quality to save a few cents. I rated this place as average but it is really close to poor. If BW would invest a little money and time this could be turned around but I think average is the goal. Not for me, I will cancel my BW rewards and move on, I suggest you do the same.

I might have given this hotel 5 stars, except for the dismal linens. The towels were the and dingy. The sheets were not crisp. The shower curtain was stained yellow along the bottom. On the other hand the room was large with plenty of room to keep your packs and poles if you are hiking in the Canyon. Check-in and check-out were easy and efficient.

Standard fare for the best western but the hygiene and cleanliness is well below standard. The room was dusty, the coffee machine and clock was covered in dust and the towels are going yellowish with age. Breakfast was a joke we had to ask numerous times for things to be topped up like the milk, the cereal and the bread. The breakfast room chairs need to be replaced due to the amount of stains on them. Pretty disgusting especially as I am a fan of BW

We had a nice stay at this hotel which is in a great location for visiting Palo Duro Canyon. We enjoyed the breakfast that was included. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We recommend this hotel when visiting the canyon.

We always have a great stay at this hotel. The staff has always gone way above. The stays have always been nice. The breakfast is ok. This was a trip to see my son at WT run the mascot buffalo for the last time. This hotel is very nice place to stay when visiting the boys at WT.

Quiet, clean, pleasant. Nice variety at breakfast. Stayed 5 nights. Restaurant next door had good food and they delivered to my room. Other family members stayed at same hotel. Would stay here again and would recommend others to do same.

This was our second stay, our first being in 2011 and both being to visit Palo Duro Canyon. This time we felt that the hotel needed some tlc and did not seem to be up to the standard of our first visit. We only stayed one night and at breakfast we were asked to collect our belongings and go either next door or across the road as there was a smell of gas. We were not allowed to leave as starting the car engine could have ignited the gas. We were only delayed 10 minutes and the staff handled it very well. This incident has not biased my review.

We often stay in Best Westerns and thought that this hotel was one of the best BWs we have stayed in, as it was really clean and we had a spacious room. Staff and breakfast were great and we would highly recommend staying if visiting Palo Duro Canyon.

after hiking it was easy enough to sleep but the pool was out for our entire stay and there was an odd smell in the lobby area. staff was very outgoing but several areas of this hotel need some attention. will try holiday inn next time

In general terms, this was not a restful place to spend two nights. Canyon is a small college town near an attraction that draws many visitors during warm weather. Some people are happy to have a bed and a free breakfast and that is all that counts. As a business traveler, I have higher expectations. If you are the only motel in town, or one of a few, you should strive to make things the best your town can offer. The breakfast area was not fully stocked with all items. The attendant should be on duty and maintain the area throughout serving times. The room had some of those things that I hate to see like dirty corners in the bathroom. I was not expecting top notch linens in a BW, but these were not up to my standards. Ok place for a night, but could be much better.

This is a nice, clean hotel with great staff. It is in a good location within walking distance of food and other necessities. The breakfast service was very good, a good selection in a nice dining facility.

The hotel is very clean. I would have given it a higher score but the young folks running the desk and the fella in the breakfast area are disorganized. My Sister-in-law inquired if there were cabs in the area. The could not answer the question. I had to ask them to stock the breakfast area as it was completely empty of food and many essentials. He likes to hang out at the front desk. He never did clean off the tables, we did. My husband got out creamer both mornings for everyone. It is the little details they are lacking. The maid staff was great and so friendly. Nice place just a bit of attention to details would be helpful to you and your guests.

Our room 115 was terrible. Someone had left a note by the TV which read " if no sound, unplug the HDMI cable wait then plug it back in to see if it will work"... the linens on the bed looked like they had been already slept in when you pulled the spread back. We could hear the people in the room above us walking back and forth, flushing the toilet, taking a shower, etc... they got up multiple times during the night so we got little sleep. The breakfast area in the lobby was disgusting. Food on the floor, counters, waffle batter spilled all over that area and the bananas were so over ripe they smelled rotten. Food wasn't refilled & nothing was maintained. We ate nothing here.

We looked for a place close to Pablo Duro Canyon and picked this based on the reviews. We were disappointed at the shabbiness of the room. We had a King Suite but it was gross. This is more like a 1 star. The carpets in the hallway haven't been vacuumed along the edges or corners in a very long time and are filthy. The carpet in the room was stained in multiple areas and needs to be replaced. The foldaway bed didn't come with a blanket.The bathroom was moldy and the handicapped shower leaked over the rest of the bathroom leaving a soggy mess. Not a very pleasant way to use the toilet or sink. This is a dog friendly hotel and in the morning, someone's pet had defecated on the tile. An hour later it was still there although the cleaning ladies were working to clean the rooms around it. To be frank, this hotel was filthy and management seemed unconcerned.

stayed here for a weekend. very nice. good desk staff. easy check in and check out. room was nice and clean. good choices of hot and cold food for breakfast. Lots of coffee and assorted juices. good parking lot. close to the university and the highway.

Booked weeks in advance , but was given a room with a handicapped bath. I didn't request it nor was it explained our room was a flat, no side shower. Water ran all over the floor and out the bathroom soaking some of our clothes. The hotel was not full; so I don't know the reason for assigning a handicapped bath to non-handicapped travelers. The bed was comfortable, rooms were clean, breakfast was good but they weren't as quick to refill everything as I expected.

When my husband and I first checked in they only had a two queen bed room and we wanted a king room. The next day Christine, at the front desk, had housekeeping fix up a king room for us right next to our room on the third floor so we wouldn't have to completely pack all our belongings and switch rooms to another floor. This made the transition easy. The housekeeping is consistent both rooms were clean. The beds are very comfortable and the free wifi is pretty decent too. There is a great burrito place across the street, a restaurant next door that has good drink specials and a Dollar General all within walking distance.

Easy checkin and checkout. Room was clean and large. AC worked well. Breakfast was good. Convenient to West Texas A&M and Palo Duro Canyon. Bed was comfortable with no dips. Allows pets only on floors 1 and 2.

The personnel at this site was excellent, the room was both large and roomy and the fresh breakfasts that was supplied was fresh and tasty. Altogether, this was a very satisfying stay for a good price which included all of the amenities that we wanted as a traveler.

The room was comfortable enough, but a bit dated. The tub had dirty foot print marks in it - maybe stained - and I can't remember the last time I used a hotel shower that didn't have the crescent shaped shower curtain. I felt like I was in a closet and the tub was a bit slippery. The chairs in the room were a bit creaky and wobbly, but they never broke. The hotel staff was very courteous and helpful when I asked for help. My daughter and I were going to take a swim, but frankly, the pool scared us a bit. It was murky looking and I think the bottom was painted a dark blue. Whatever it was, it made the pool look dark and uninviting. We visited the vending machine downstairs for a snack and that was an adventure. It was poorly stocked, didn't accept any of my one dollar bills, and one of our items got stuck. I bugged the poor guy at the desk three different times just trying to get a snack (this was one of the times I asked the staff for help). I think one of those small open market type setups that a lot of other hotels have might be a better option. Overall it wasn't a horrible stay, especially for the price, but it wouldn't be my first pick next time.

Very clean hotel. Only there for overnight but had a very nice view. Would stay there again. When we got to the room, the air conditioner was on and it was cool in the room. It was very hot and humid outside, so it was nice and cool for sleeping.

Over the phone, the reservations lady was very polite and kind. In person, the front desk staff are asleep at the wheel. The location is great but the rooms average and the breakfast worse. Not a lot of choice in Canyon, but would consider a different location next time.

the only complaint i have with this Best Western is the pool was very cold when we went swimming. The morning breakfast was good, the room was clean, the staff was helpful and pleasant. Not many choices in Canyon, but the Best Western was good.

This hotel was convenient for going the Palo Duro Canyon but disappointing in the cleanliness area. The towel and bedcover were clean but stained. Upholstery in the breakfast room was very soiled. The hallways all need a good vacuuming. I would not really recommend this hotel other than for the location. Front desk staff hides together in the office and puts out a bell for service. Really? Not welcoming at all.

Afternoon Wifi: 8.24 Mbps Down, 9.17 Mbps Up. Evening Wifi: 20.54 Mbps Down, 6.42 Mbps Up. Hotel staff is very friendly. Room was clean and kept clean over 3 day stay. Made requests that were fulfilled in a timely manner. Breakfast was a typical breakfast for this price range. Would stay here again if I come back.

We came for WT Orientation and we're surprised to find out this hotel offers parents of WT students a discount, Awesome! Room was nice, love the ceiling fan, and the tv. We hope to come back here often to visit while our child is attending West Texas A&M.

This was probably the WORST free breakfast buffet I've ever seen/had There were FROZEN biscuits on the line, cereal containers empty, no napkins, and the trash can was running over with people setting trash on the top of it and other places...all the while the breakfast attendant was in the storage? area playing on his phone....NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE. On a positive note, the beds were comfy and the AC was great. There was also ceiling fan in room which is a plus.

We booked a 2 bed, plus sofabed room through a hotel booking site for our larger family. We then tried to confirm our room directly with hotel days before leaving, they said they didnt have any such rooms. We contacted booking site, who called us back and told us who they spoke to at the hotel, and that it was "all fixed". When we showed up to check in they gave me a room with two doubles only, (which wouldnt fit my family), and when I went back to the desk they said they didnt have any rooms like that available (after 12 hours of driving and very exhausted family we could have cried). Luckily we told them the name of the booking site person, date he called, and who he spoke with there-and they begrudgingly gave us keys to the room we had actually booked. The Executive suite was extremely spacious and pretty with archways and fans, and only lacking a second tv in the sitting area (L shaped room, couch and chair facing a wall over a dresser, but the only TV in room was way around the other end of the L, (couldnt be seen at all from sitting area). Pool was nicely warmed, and the kids had fun in it, but later we found chips of blue paint on them and their towels, which was concerning. Towels were thick and fluffy, room temp was perfect and system quiet. Only downside was breakfast-small squishy rooms with tiny tables, not great layout and poor selection. For the room alone I would give it a 4/5 (floor needs to be insulated or something, even the little 2yr old made booming sounds by just walking across the floor, and we heard others above us as well), but the breakfast was a 2/5 at best, and the need to fight to check in for what we had reserved was disappointing. They should totally revamp breakfast, otherwise ratings would be pretty high.

The location was central to everything of interest in the area. Very clean and quiet. Breakfast was fresh and good. Personnel were extremely friendly and polite. We visited Palo Dura Canyon during our stay, and really enjoyed the site. Recommend this motel to any group of travelers.

We were very pleased with the Best Western in Canyon. People were very helpful...rooms were nice and clean. The breakfast was delicious. Quiet, and very convenient to getting to Palo Duro Canyon. Ample parking and an indoor pool.

Recently stayed at this hotel and everything was decent except for the cleanliness. The bathroom Floors and shower curtain were real nasty as if they hadn't been cleaned properly in months. The carpet was also dirty. The pool was also a big disappointment as there were chips of flooring coming off inside the pool. The carpet looked as if it wasn't even vacuumed. I didn't take my shoes off the whole time except for when I'd go to bed. Housekeeping needs improvement.

This hotel is a hidden gem near Palo Duro Canyon, in the small college town of Canyon Texas. We came to see the Canyon, and the wonderful TEXAS Musical, and were very pleased by this stay. This is one of the nicest Best Westerns we have stayed in. All the staff had smiles on, and greeted us every time they saw us. The breakfast was very plentiful for a hotel this size. Overall 5 stars, I think other hotels could learn a thing from the staff here at this Best Western.

Do not stay there. Bedding is old and staff rude. Room not ready until 4 pm. Room was not clean. Good location to park but would rather stay further away to avoid this hotel. Poor management and especially bedding

PRO's: This was a jewel of a motel. Came to Canyon specifically to visit Palo Duro Canyon and the Panhandle Plains Museum. The motel was a pleasant surprise. Lots of helpful staff including Hunter at the front desk. Excellent amenities for the value minded customer. CON's: Only one. Didn't like my late night dinner at Buffalo Restaurant next door, but many restaurants were closed when I arrived. SUMMARY:I would definitely stay in this motel if I was passing through Canyon Texas.

Room was great, this is our second time staying here, and we were impressed with the consistency of the hotel. The service is excellent and the staff is very friendly. Breakfast was also great as always, and the breakfast attendant is very friendly, a real plus!

I liked the layout of our room. I thought the bathroom furnishings were a little sparse. We had a soap and a shampoo. I could have used a bath mat (I just used put a towel down, but then the kids were missing a towel) and was hoping for a lotion or a conditioner. I did take the kids swimming, the pool paint was peeling so sometimes the paint would stick to your feet and I noticed there were paint chips everywhere in the pool room. That explains it. The breakfast was fine the kids liked the waffle maker the breakfast attendant was really friendly. Here's a bonus, they actually had stevia for the coffee.

We will always consider Best Western when we travel. the services and amenities are superb! The staff and service providers went out of their way to make us feel at home. All areas of the hotel were clean and bright. The grandchildren loved the pool area. This was an outstanding outing at Palo Duro Canyon Inn & Suites. We shall return.

The hotel was not thoroughly cleaned, we found a used cup on the bathroom floor and saw ants on a window cell in the breakfast area. The bed is very firm and uncomfortable. However, the staff were friendly and professional and the sheets seemed to be clean.

I should have known something was up when I walked into our king room and the bed was shorted pillows. The bedding was not nice. One of the pillows looks like someone just finished sleeping on it and the case wasn't changed. We have a pullout sofa for our kids. The pullout looks extremely uncomfortable. There was no bedding in the room for the pullout, so we go back downstairs in the rickety elevator to be told that there are no pillows in the hotel. The cleanliness is just okay. They also only gave us 2 towels, so we had to go down and get more so we could all shower. I'm just coming back from a 2 week trip where I stayed in Best Western hotels across the country. I've stayed in older buildings that were much nicer. This is the only one that didn't have HBO, also. I won't be returning to this hotel.

Front desk help were quite pleasant but it was down hill from there. The room at a first glance looked fine. It wasn't until I stepped into the bathroom and found the floor was very sticky, the counter and faucets looked as though they were wiped with a dirty rag or maybe the dirty mop. There was a hand towel with makeup on it. I had to call and have housekeeping bring a replacement for the bed top duvet as there was some kind of dried fluid on it. Don't get me wrong, the rooms are nice especially with dual ceiling fans but they lack any kind of cleanliness. I was afraid to take off my shoes. But on a lighter note, breakfast was a nice surprise.

This hotel was below standard for typical Best Western. Bathroom was dirty, pool even worse and food cold. The pool door was propped open so smokers could go in and out. Flies were everywhere. I got an email from manager saying they would like another chance. The desk clerk was nice when we arrived but next morning no one was on duty at breakfast.

I got two rooms. One for my daughter, one for my wife and myself. We did not use any of the facilities other than the bathroom and bed, and TV. We have stayed at this motel several times before and always have enjoyed the stay.

Cons: Well 2/ start housekeeping was not very good. A shirt was left n/ one of the chairs, no soap or shampoo. Towels were old & dingy. No x-tra TP. Coffee from breakfast left n/ fridge. Covers were very thin. Pros: Microwave, fridge, nice pillows, bed was comfortable. Shower was nice. A 3-floor building w/ an elevator

Made reservations about 4 hours before our arrival & Hunter was very helpful. Checked in around midnight & gentleman at front desk was really nice. Room was clean, beds were very comfortable, & it was well stocked. Accommodations were perfect for our service dogs & kids. Breakfast was nicely done with lots of options & not overprocessed.

We got to our room and only had two towels and a few sheets of toilet paper. Also, the ice machine was taken out on the third floor which is where we were. The vending machines were out of order as well. The gentleman at the front desk was great. He gave me towels, TP, and bottled water. The rooms are nice with comfortable beds. I didn't like the small pillows. Breakfast is OK though there were guests barefoot and no one said anything to them. Breakfast area is very tiny as well. I am on the fence with this one. It had some flaws but the guy at the desk did try to make things right which I appreciate.

The in-room ceiling fans are a nice touch that I haven't seen in other medium-priced hotels. We like eggs at breakfast. On both mornings of our stay, the scrambled eggs were so salty that we could not eat them. The sausage was much less salty than were the eggs. You really need to fix this.

The hotel was in a good location for visiting the Palo Duro Canyon. It was clean and spacious for our family of 4 - including 2 teenagers. It has queen beds which is nice. The best thing was the ceiling fan! It's hard to find a hotel room with a ceiling fan - but you really need one in Texas in July. Breakfast was a nice selection as well. My daughter was pleased with the nutella and waffles.

The rooms aren't perfect, but we're very clean. Beds were comfortable and amenities were great, including the pool and mini fridge in the room. When I asked about restaurants that delivered the front desk was knowledgable and helpful. Much appreciated after a long day of travel.

I booked 28 rooms at the Palo Duro Canyon Inn and Suites. I booked with the Manager and he was very helpful. The hotel is pretty from the outside and the inside is very nice. It was a good choice. They do serve a complimentary breakfast. My group mostly had coffee because we had breakfast booked elsewhere. It was a nice experience and I was very happy with my choice in Canyon.

Our room was very clean and comfortable. The beds were great! It was also a great location, just 15 miles from Palo Duro Canyon and just blocks from "The Panhandle Plains History Museum". We would definitely stay again. We would like to be able to stay longer next time.

It was a clean place but just a bit dated. However the beds were very comfy ( I had a great night's sleep) and the breakfast was filling. Still overall a great stay! So close to Palo Duro Park and other great restaurants.

The rooms were clean and newer. Linens and towels not thin or rough. The hotel has a small area for dog relief. Hotel located for easy access to the Palo Canyon, the university or the downtown area. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

We went to see Texas the musical at the Palo Duro Canyon State Park. This property is just 15 miles or so away. It is new, the staff is nice, and the rooms were nice and cool after being in the heat all day. I slept really well, which is usually an issue for me in hotels. The rooms are really spacious, and the breakfast had a good selection, so it saved us time and money before driving home.

This place was great with the basics...just what weneeded, no more, no less. Great AC, great hot shower, no noises, great mattress, decent price, very convenient to Palo Duro Canyon. No-nonsense at front desk. They had business office to print few things, free wifi. Wowed me with the basics

We asked to be put on a waiting list for a room, and Chris called with the happy news that one had come open. So off we went to Canyon for a three-night trip. Chris was very helpful and friendly, and Patrick came right away to fix our TV when we couldn't get the cable to come on. Our room 305 was so quiet. Thank you, y'all!

We certainly enjoyed our stay at BW, and our time in Canyon. This is the first hotel in a long time with AC that actually blows cold air! Everyone was friendly, courteous and helpful. The rooms were cleaned and well maintained by the room staff. It was with BW in Stephenville that I started my tradition of a Texas waffle, covered with peanut butter, topped with a sliced banana (I had to buy one this time), and drizzled with honey. I call it the "Tarleton Waffle."

Hotel is clean, people are friendly, and it's convenient to both the local university and Palo Duro Canyon. Rooms are large and quiet, though the air conditioner makes some noise even at its lowest setting.

Although this hotel is somewhat far from our travel route, US 40, it was nevertheless an excellent hotel worth reserving. The parking lot was very well lit, which is important to cross-Country travelers with a car packed for travel.

We enjoyed the clean comfortable room, and the light was left on for us... Did not find anything that was not clean and well kept. We will gladly stay here again. The Staff was polite and the usual Continental breakfast was good.

We and our adult daughter and two small dogs shared a room. We liked that there were special rooms set aside for guests with pets. The room was pretty and clean and smelled so nice. The breakfast was outstanding. The maintenance man assembled her small fan she had brought.

Clean, convenient for all activities Hotel staff very friendly and courteous. From here we could easily visit Caprock Canyon, Palo Duro Canyon and Amarillo as well as Panhandle Plains Museum in Canyon

We recently visited the area to attend the graduation of our grandson. We were more than comfortable and had no problems at all. The staff was helpful and friendly. The room was clean and neat. We will stay there again.

...why all the five star reviews because certainly not architecturally special, small unimpressive lobby, rather un-modern. SOON realized it's the amazingly helpful and personable, real smiles, staff. Two of several good moments: -We could not figure out how to operate the TV, called reception figuring getting a tip over the phone. "I'll be there in a moment." Quickly arrived carrying an extra blanket in case needed, quick instruction about the TV remote, all done! -Drink lots of coffee. Room attendant noticed, left lots of extra supplies for day two with a nice note. All is clean and in good order. No, not a grand palace of a hotel but perhaps something better!

Stayed at the BW Palo Duro while visiting my parents grave in Canyon. I had previously stayed at a competitor and had a bad experience regarding being lied to about their pet policy, so it was refreshing to deal with a place that was honest about that since we were traveling with our disabled Corgi, TullyMars. The check-in was smooth and the man that checked us in was friendly and helpful.The room was large and clean, Tully was welcomed, the parking lot accommodated our small trailer. At breakfast the next morning the attendant was a bit frazzled and was out of a few items...I think he didn't plan ahead for a full house brought on by commencement at the local university. Still, breakfast was fine and we were on our way. Good overnight stay. Don't even mess with the place next door if you can stay at the Palo Duro Best Western.

Poor bedding and un-vacuumed carpeting (snack food left), high noise level - management said they'd help with high noise level from room above - don't think they ever called, didn't change. Requested disability room had shower curtain that fell down when touched. Breakfast ill-prepared - not heated thoroughly to be safe to eat

We were glad to find a comfortable hotel so close to the Palo Duro Canyon. It was a very nice hotel and dog friendly...which is a requirement for us. The room & bed were comfortable, clean and well maintained. We felt it was a safe environment. It was also great to have a clean laundry facility and breakfast. We felt it was a good value.

We stayed at the Best Western in Canyon, Texas, with our dogs, so we would be close to Palo Duro Canyon. The hotel was great and the trip to the Canyon only 10 minutes from the hotel. I'd stay here again, especially because of the good staff, great location and free breakfast with lots of choices.

We enjoyed our stay at BEST WESTERN PALO DURO CANYON INN during our recent trip to Canyon, Texas. The staff there went out of their way to be helpful and caring. The hotel was in a good location for what we wanted to see, rooms were spacious and comfortable. Just a very enjoyable experience.

This hotel was wonderful. I stayed with friends and we had a great nights rest which we all really needed. It was the most spacious and beautiful hotel room that I think I have ever had. It was clean (actually the room smelled wonderful, as did the towels!) The bathroom was excellent. So many hotel rooms have poor lighting nowadays so I was grateful for the comprehensive lighting options. I could easily do all of the work that I needed to get done in the evening using the internet.

If you are visiting Palo Duro Canyon or West Texas A&M this a smart place to stay. Good staff, very friendly and helpful. Comfortable beds and great A/C. Good WiFi and TV. Walking distance to restaurants, shops and the WT campus.

This is a nice hotel located on the direct road to Palo Duro Canyon. It is a pet friendly hotel. It is a bit dated and the decor is pretty bland, but the room was clean. There is restaurant next door that has great take out food. There is a covered patio behind the hotel, and it was a beautiful evening to eat outside.

great place to stay! This is the quietest place I have ever stayed at! Never heard a door close or a shower run. Never heard someone talking or running in the hall or a TV playing! Front desk was a courteous and quick check-in. bed was soooo comfortable!

Large comfortable king suite appeared to be decorated with colors inspired by the natural environment of the nearby canyonlands. Hotel was modern, clean and attendant were friendly and efficient at check in. Comfy pillowtop mattress with plenty of pillows, but could benefit with a bit thicker blanket or duvet. We did not eat breakfast here, so cannot comment on that. The front desk attendant at checkout was a bit scruffy-looking wearing a gimme cap, tshirt and jeans, which gave an unprofessional appearance. Other than that, we would recommend this as a nice hotel at a reasonable price.

There is a Best Western Hotel in Canyon, TX, ever though you may have trouble finding it on-line. The hotel is listed under the heading Palo Duro Canyon with no mention of Canyon,TX, or West Texas A&M University. The Hotel is relatively new and has all the amenities one expects on BW hotels. Prices are reasonable and the hotel is located adjacent to the WTA&MU campus if you are in town for Homecoming or some other alumni activity.

We stayed two nights here. The plus side: Clean room and bathroom Name brand cereals, yogurt, etc. at breakfast plus fresh fruit Great wifi Negatives: Dirty hallways Worst coffee EVER However, we would go back there if we return to Palo Duro! I would take my own coffee!

Every single member of the staff was wonderful, from Patrick in the breakfast area, to Christine at the front desk. The housekeepers Skylar, Jessica and Katie were also exceptional. If you are coming in to see Palo Duro Canyon or just passing through, you should definitely check this hotel out! *****

the only thing we did nit like was that there was only one nightstand, not important to most but is to us. The staff were very courteous and efficient, the rooms were comfortable and clean. we ate breakfast there and they had a nice variety and set up well,

We are in town for a couple of weeks. Our first night there money was taken from our room. We told front desk and nothing was ever done. We asked repeatedly what was being done. But nothing was ever said about it. After the fourth day we check out and moved motels. And the manager never once contacted us about it or nothing was never done. So you stay there be sure to take everything with you. Or just stay next door. Much better acomidations!!!

I was so pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It was very clean, quiet, and the breakfast was filling (waffles, fruit, yoghurt, eggs, hashbrowns, coffee, tea). The laundry was on the ground floor and easily accessible for guests. The location was perfect for visiting Palo Duro canyon - drive out the canyon gates, stay in a straight line for 15-20 minutes, then pull right into the hotel. Wouldn't recommend anywhere else. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Wifi was very fast and reliable (which surprised me for such a small town). Also a good place to explore the Texas Panhandle-Plains museum - which is huge and worth seeing.

Very nice staff. The room was very nice. Exceeded our expectations. Reasonable price. Clean and comfortable. Great location. Restaurants nearby. Dollar General across the street. We would stay here again.

Clean guestroom and hallway, quiet, pleasant decor, updated carpet throughout the hotel and guestroom, expedient service, decent breakfast, convenient to the palo duro canyon, and pleasant staff. Overall a great value! I would recommend Best Western Palo Duro Canyon Inn & Suites to anyone coming to Canyon.

While it is supposed to be an amenity, the only thing that the indoor heated pool adds to this property is the overpowering stench of pool chlorine. You can smell it before entering the lobby. The staff was very pleasant and responsive, but my room was not very clean. The bathtub had a film of soap scum, as did the sink. The bathroom mirror had not been cleaned in a while. This suited my needs-I was hiking the Canyon and only needed a place to sleep at night-it was almost the same as camping.

Wonderful staff with very clean rooms and great air conditioner! Comfy bed and comfy pillows. Internet works well, and the TV recieves all the channels. Simple hotel that gives you what you need. Nice size closet. Hair dryer isn't that great but that's my only complaint!

I also stayed here August 2015 and plan to come again. The hotel is very clean and decent size rooms. The staff works hard to give you a quality breakfast. It is located right off (walking distance) to the WTAMU campus and many churches. You may have to drive (or long walk) to a better than average restaurant. The staff is very friendly and attentive to your needs.

Staff was very welcoming, room quiet, clean and comfortable. We enjoyed time at the pool with our children and grand children. Plenty of towels at the pool. There was also seating in our room to have guests sit and visit. Overall a nice trip. We expect to do it again when we do this will be where we stay.

We only stayed one night but were extremely satisfied with the hotel. We received a complementary room upgrade, everything was clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great. We thought Palo Duro Canyon State Park was fantastic and hope to come back and stay longer.

We have two boys at West Texas A&M and we always stay here when we visit. We have always have a comfortable room. We get a suite so we have places for the boys to sit and visit. The staff is aways friendly. It is also a good value.

Not many options in Canyon so this property doesn't have much competition and it shows. Threadbare towels and thin blankets on the beds. This was our first visit in the winter. Staff is fine, nothing special. We did not eat breakfast this visit. but in the past it was fine.

Stayed in the king suite for 2 nights. Excellent hotel. Room has a king bed, another bed and a couch with a pull out bed. Everything looks new and well maintained. Has indoor pool and fitness room but I didn't use either of them. Breakfast was nice and included hot food (scrambled eggs, tater tots, sausages) along with yogurt, fruit cups, make your own waffles, toast, bagels, biscuits & gravy, cold cereal and probably some other things I forgot.

This hotel has always been my choice when visiting Canyon. I enjoy the clean and comfortable rooms and friendly staff. The location is great for visiting WT and Palo Duro Canyon. It is just a short distance to Amarillo, but Canyon offers plenty of shopping and dining choices without the hectic traffic.

This hotel is wonderful. I was skeptical when booking, since it's kinda in the middle of nowhere (at least it is for someone who is from a hustle-and-bustle kind of place). We were lucky enough to get a deal on the King suite on Expedia and the beds are comfortable, the rooms is spacious, and the staff was really friendly. :)

We stayed here for my husbands graduation 12/11/15. The hotel was nice and so was the staff. Breakfast from 6am-9pm and I had a corner room on second floor which was close to stairs and our car in parking lot. Parking lot was well lite. The elevator was just a little slow so we took stairs most of time since they were so close to them. Our room was clean and a descent size. I would stay here again if in Canyon.

The room was clean and comfortable and had a refrigerator and microwave as well as a separate sitting area. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was good. The in-room heating unit was very quiet.

We had to extend our stay due to an ice storm. Everyone was very helpful and kind. They are pet friendly. They don't have a hot tub, but the pool was warm. Great variety at breakfast. We will stay here again.

Great place to stay close to the state park. Very clean and spacious rooms. Appears to be newer construction, within the past 5-7 years. Decent breakfast but the same variety day after day. We stayed for several days and would have liked something different after day three. However, still a very good way to start your day. The rooms are very clean and plenty big. We traveled with two adults and one ten year old and our 110 pound dog. Plenty of room for the dog to stretch out and not get stepped on at every turn. We used everything in the room, TV, fridge, microwave, ceiling fans, a/c and heat and the pool. Everything worked perfectly and all were very clean and well maintained. The only thing which bugged me was the bath towels were replaced with fresh ones daily, regardless if hung back up. Seems a bit wasteful but considering everything else, this was incredibly minor. I would highly recommend this hotel and would certainly stay here again.

Thanksgiving holiday, leave and head to Palo Duro Canyon and come back at 5:15pm to a room that has not been cleaned/serviced. The desk person (man, 11/26/2015, 5:15pm) said it was my fault because I had a "do not disturb" sign. No we don't. We left at 9 am and we do not even have a sign. He said it was because we left it on the door. Really? He is mistaken and should have just offered to have our room cleaned but instead said I should leave a review. This is it. We would leave and stay elsewhere ut we can't get a refund or a room due to the holiday.

I was disappt'd we had to pay so much for a one-weeknight stay in Canyon. With pet fee, the online nonrefundable rate was $120. But even staying in the downstairs room closest to check-in (#105) with vending machines nearby, cars parked just outside our windows, etc, all was very quiet---a spacious room, fast wi-fi, fridge, good cable. Only complaint is that the king bed wasn't accessible from one side without climbing over the AC unit and scooting sideways along the wall. That side of the bed also had clearly not been vacuumed in quite some time, there was debris on the rug, lots of dust build-up. Otherwise, a good night's rest....but it should have been for that price.
