    « Find another hotel »

This hotel is dark and dirty. My feet stuck to the room carpet and to the bathroom floor. The staff was very nice and accommodating, but with so many options out there, I would pick another place to stay

« Don't allow the exterior color to fool you .. »

... Once you step inside you will enjoy one of THE most pleasurable motel stays you could ask for. Simply outstanding from check in to check out.Trust me, if my VERY picky wife loves this motel, and she does, you will as well.

« The hot tub wasnt working was it was advertised as being amazing. »

Hotel had a stench. The staff was great and friendly. Cleanliness was ok however this hotel was extremely old and all older hotels defineitly tell their age at some point. Breakfast was great. The restaurant inside the building had amazinng service.

« Our home away from home (again) »

We spend about 7 weeks a year (half in the Spring, half in the Fall) at this hotel. On site restaurant, good WiFi, daily paper in the lobby, on site laundry and a pleasant courtyard in which to sit in the evenings - all of these things bring us back. Only two downsides - they allow pets and the wimpy, dim CFL lights in the bedside lamps. We brought our own 60W (equivalent) LED bulbs so we could read in bed at night. We also experienced the power failure described by ferguson54 and SportMom35. The power company (DTE) was the one at fault, not the motel, and DTE was not giving out any estimates of when power would be back on. The motel brought in a massive generator (the size of a travel trailer) and we muddled through quite nicely. You have to be flexible and go with the flow when you travel.

    « Give credit where it's due »

I had family coming in from out of town so we decided to get together and book a few night's at the Pink Palace. However, due to a power outage from a wind storm we had to change our plans. The hotel staff informed us they had no estimate of when the power would be back on and could cancel our reservations with no charge or cancellation fee if we chose not to stay. As we stayed in the lobby for a bit to make other arrangements, we witnessed many people approach the front desk who were given the same option... we also witnessed a group of people get angry with the staff because they chose to stay overnight AFTER being informed there was no estimated restoration time, now demanding free rooms. I understand staying at a hotel with no power is not ideal but why not find other accommodations... don't harass the staff when they have no control. While I have never left a hotel review before, I felt I needed to after hearing such rude comments toward the staff. Kudos to you Best Western, I'm sure you did the best you could during a days long power outage! We will make new reservations to stay with you next time our family gets together in the Detroit area!

« NO POWER BUT CHARGED »

Power outage no guidance on what was going on. Stayed the night with no hot water no light and was told we were still getting charged for the stay. The emergency lights were to be on but some didn't work, Couldn't find out a time line when Hydro was coming on. Ask for a discount but was denied. Cold coffee small plate of donuts and fruit was our breakfast. Glow sticks were [lace at our doors for lighting

    « Excellent guest experience! »

Between my husband and I we have stayed in various accomadations. In all those places the Pink Palace is top in the running hands down. Ramona was the associate that I spoke with making reservations. She was very polite and accomadating to my endless questions. I had called a couple other places that evening that were in a hurry couldn't wait to get on to the next call. Peter was working the front desk and is just hilarious. Upon arriving he greeted us with a "We have been waiting for you all evening!" So very friendly and willing to accomodate anything we threw at him. Great customer service, beautiful accomadations and clean!

    « Great staff »

I am having construction done at my home and stayed at the Best Western for a week. They were very accommodating! The rooms were very clean, the pool and courtyard were awesome, and they were very pet friendly!!! The restaurant in the hotel had excellent food. Best of all the entire staff was kind and attentive to all of our needs. I highly recommend this hotel!!!

    « Good location - Great People »

We stayed for over 10 days and can honestly say, had No issues. All the employees from the Front desk to the restaurant were very helpful and pleasant. Rooms were clean, complimentary coffee in the lobby was always hot and location was convenient.

    « Fantastic Stay »

My parents power went out they needed a place to spend the night. I contacted Greenfield Inn because everything closer to their home was already booked. Latrice, at the front desk, was so helpful. I actually booked two rooms, one for my cousin who needed a handicapped accessible room. This was the best decision I have ever made in hotels. The rooms are very large and clean. Flat screen tv. Lots of towels. Very comfortable bed, and room was quiet. The restaurant located inside the hotel is very good. Lots of restaurants and shopping near the hotel. The rate was very reasonable. I will be staying here again.

    « Very nice »

When our power went out I needed a place to spend the night. I've stayed here before but it was quite a while ago. Well nothing had changed. It's been nicely kept up. The rooms are nice and clean. Nice size flat screen tv. Lots of towels. Comfortable bed, and room was quiet. No free breakfast here, but the restaurant is very good though a bit pricey. (Lots of restaurants and shopping near by). This hotel is also pet friendly. I saw two best western vans so I assume they offer a shuttle to the Henry ford museum. The rate was also very attractive. If your coming to the Dearborn area, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here.

« Nice property that is different from the Best Western standard. »

Historic property is well maintained and undergoing additional renovation. Good room size with closet. Fairly quiet considering proximity to major highway. Nice looking pool area and fitness center thought we did not use them. Better than average bed. Excellent location if you plan to go to Ford Museum and short drive to anything in Detroit.

    5
    « Wonderful Stay »

The shuttle guy ("Junior") was pleasant and Suzanne, the gal who checked me in, was great too. The meal I had in the restaurant/bar was excellent -- one of the best Caesar salads I ever had. I ordered a second one. The BBQ Chicken with Baked Potato were simple, but yummy. The room was spacious, spotless, and quiet. Best of all, I loved the pink exterior. Please don't ever change it. Don't even think about changing it.

    « Weekend Getaway »

I came to Detroit for a long weekend, and wanted a quiet hotel, which is exactly what this is. Reception was excellent. Lots of parking easy to move around. Room was as expected. Very clean, large enough, maybe a touch dated, but the extremely comfortable bed more than made up for any shortcomings. Hotel is nicely decorated throughout with a vehicle motif. I'd definitely stay here again.

    4
    « Comfortable room »

Room was fine. Clean sheets and bathroom. Breakfast was a little wonky... the front desk person said there was no breakfast, but when we walked over to the restaurant there actually was. It was a bit strange.

    5
« Citizenship Trip to Detroit, Michigan »

The building has excellent Car display décor thru-out with beautiful Wood-Décor and the location has very easy access onto & outgoing to a major express highway. And the service people made us feel right at Home!!!

    2
    « Over priced »

Over priced, cold pool with a limit on swimmers.....room was depressing and not very cozy...I would rather go to Woodhaven than the pink palace also was very confusing to even find my room and didn't have much help work employees just a rude attitude

« Accidental Diamond in the Rough »

We were in town for a funeral when our original hotel had a power failure so we needed to make other arrangements on the fly. We needed a hotel that allowed dogs. We found the Greenfield inn and made a reservation online. When we got there, the front desk clerk, Tina, arranged for us to have a room on the main floor near one of the doors. There were a lot of people staying at the hotel but noise was never an issue. We ordered breakfast in the morning and got great food at a fair price and in short time. Yes, the hotel is older but the accommodations were excellent. We are glad that we have found another hotel i n metro detroit that takes pets. In terms of convenient location, staff service, and value for the money, this hotel exceeded expectations greatly.

« Unique Hotel!! Journey Back Into History!! Beautiful!! »

The Best Western Greenfield Inn is better known as the "Pink Palace", the reason being that the hotel is PINK. This already makes it very special as soon as you approach it. However, the magic continues when you enter the beautiful and magical building. The hotel was first built way back in the 60's but has since been renovated without changing the decor and the atmosphere. It is like stepping out of a time machine into the 60's. Everything around you is like a museum. Only walking through the corridors and looking at hundreds of beautiful pictures of old cars can take you a few hours. We were given a grand tour of the hotel by the owner, which was fascinating. The rooms are nice, especially some of the larger suites. Don't miss Mugly's restaurant (reviewed by me separately) while you're there!! The Pink Palace - Magnificent!!

    « Barbie dream House »

My daughter and I found this location while on a business trip! We always stay in the suites (which are huge)! We have been back a few time since just because the staff and environment is so enjoyable! Its close to shopping and the Henry Ford Museum! I must say one of the most helpful staff ever! Bar great food was surprisingly excellent! It has everything for the making of a great stay! Pool wonderful, sauna, bar restaurant and super clean (not to mention its memorabilia is excellent! spend the time, you won't be disappointed!

    « Amazing hotel! »

We had a wonderful experience with staff, cleanliness of room, service and the food was delicious! The hotel has so much history and character and our family really enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend and plan on staying in the near future.

    3
    « Good value. »

Hotel is a good value for price paid. Restaurant is above average. Property itself is in need of some maintenance, but it has been getting better since we were last there. Service is good. Very disappointed that the jacuzzi wasn't running when we were there (this was not mentioned on the website) and the pool heater either wasn't running at all or was turned down really low.

    5
« Awesome Hotel and great place to stay »

I travel frequently with for my job and this Best Western is, hands down without any doubt, the nicest and best one I've had the pleasure to stay in. I would definitely recommend this Best Western to anyone and will most definitely be staying in for all of my future visits to the Detroit area.

    « AMAZING Romantic weekend »

My husband and I wanted to get away for a romantic weekend and boy did this hotel do the trick. I had called to book the room and the front desk person Tina deliver she sold me the "relax and rekindle" package. The massage and dinner gift certificate was great. The food in the restaurant is some of the best that I've had!! They made us feel like we were the only couple in the hotel. They really made our weekend one to rememer

    5
    « Christmas Vacay »

I had the most amazing time on my Christmas vacation!!!! The Best Western Greenfield Inn is amazing not only is it my favorite color it is also very unique. The staff is amazing they go out of their way to make you feel at home. The pool area is beautiful over looking the beautiful court yard. I will definitely recommend and return.

« Great location and HUGE fitness room »

Was in town for business in the city. Comfortable bed, good internet, nice size tv, fridge and micro in the room. Liked they have a restaurant/lounge on site with good. Huge fitness room! And pool and sauna also brand new!

    5
    « Awesome Pool!!! »

We took the kids here over Christmas vacation & couldn't get the kids out of the pool area ~ they loved it! The fitness center looked brand new & I've never seen a hotel with a sauna. We'll be back!!!

    4
    « Clean, easy check in/out »

Besides the bartender (who was amazing), service was average. Hotel is clean. Rooms came complete with everything it said it was supposed to. Bed was comfortable- pillows however, were not. Location was decent, depending upon your needs.

« Holiday Nights at Greenfield village »

This was not our first stay at this Hotel we stay quite often , but recent stays are lacking . On this weekend stay we came back to a room that wasn't cleaned , I went to the front desk to get some fresh towels and told the guy there that our room wasn't cleaned . He said he didn't have anyone on hand to clean but would send someone up to pickup the garbage , now one showed up so we left one day early .

    « Great stay! »

We chose this hotel for the close location to Detroit for a lions game. I?t was an easy in and out. The hotel was adorable with its decor and Tina at the front desk was very accommodating and gave great customer service!

    5
    « Pink wonderful »

To anyone looking for a hotel near Detroit. You need to stay at this location. Excellent hotel. And. Good shopping near and just off major high way. It's a great hotel with older style. But very well taken care of. Staff excellent.

    « Clean and comfortable »

Clean rooms, wifi works great, big flat screen tv, well equipment fitness center, nice courtyard area, nice big pool, good food and drinks inside the restaurant over30 different beers always enjoy my stay

    « Historic Christmas Dinner »

The property is located close to Greenfield Village and The Henry Ford, where we were headed. The decor and staff are very welcoming and friendly and help make your stay fun and relaxing. The pool and recreation area is fun and comfortable and a great asset to a fun stay.

    4
    « Nice place »

Rooms were outdated but that doesn't bother me. Hotel in great location. Safe. Wonderful character and great antiques. Would stay here again. We had many large groups-hockey tournament. Accommodating no problem.

    5
    « Detroit Lodging »

This hotel is the best place to stay and very reasonably priced! They have a shuttle to the airport and Uber is a phone call away from downtown! Everytime we come to Detroit we stay here because of the quality of service and the staff. The food is yummy as well!

    3
    « "Pink Palace" »

Really nice but still needs work as far as overall appearance. Later staff not as merry as morning staff. Bu worth the stay. Parking is scarce. I didn't use all the amenities but the overall establishment seems well. In an awkward location but is nice.

    1
« Well that was bad »

Dirty room, need to upgrade for the price you pay Pool area was disgusting and freezing, hot tub was broke, towels looked used and needed to be replaced on chairs. But staff was nice, restaurant food was good - pricy but good

    2
    « Total update needed »

Peeling wallpaper in the hallway, electrical wires sticking out of the wall in the hall where an outlet should have been, and dirty (filthy) carpet in the hall should have been a dead giveaway as to how dreadful this place has become. In past years we have enjoyed our stays here. Because of how poorly the halls were, we were afraid to even attempt to use the pool, sauna, or hot tub. We did get to pay the price that a good hotel commands, though.

    5
    « Excellent Hospitality »

My wife and I brought 37 students for a tour of the Rouge River Ford Manufacturing Complex and a tour of the Henry Ford Museum. The hotel was very hospitable for the needs of a large group of students and was very friendly and was thankful to have our business. All of our 13 rooms were very clean and modern. We would definitely stay here again in the future!

« Perfect spot for a short stay! »

My husband and I stayed here for 3 days from Nov.18-20. We often come to Michigan because we have family here and sometimes we just prefer staying in a hotel to get a little more privacy. We were supposed to get a business room but they were doing some repairs so they upgraded us to a Suite at not cost. Amazing!! The room was very nice and spacious and also very clean! The massage chair was a bonus!! The gym is nice to have if you so wish to get in quick workout. The reception desk was friendly. I loved the Keurig coffee in the lobby and rooms! I can't comment on the pool because it was down for the week, however I was looking forward to using it, hopefully next time. The restaurant also is an added bonus. Had breakfast there one morning. Overall it met all our needs and I have stayed at a few in Michigan and this one is by far the best for the price. I would definitely recommend it and stay there again. Most likely in a few months!

    5
    « Beauty and Elegance »

This a beautiful hotel with so much nostalgia, from the automobile pictures on the hall walls to the well placed antique furniture. And it is CLEAN! First place I ever stayed where I didn't pick my shoes up off the floor at night. It is old but extremely well kept. It has a many rooms, but they treat each guest so well. If you are looking for a new age, hip-hop, edgy hotel, this is not for you. If you can appreciate the beauty and elegance this hotel has to offer, you will so love your stay.

    4
    « Good hotel location »

This hotel is older, with charm. They have improved the interior hallway lighting so it's not as dark and improved on the cleanliness of the common spaces. Our room was comfortable and clean. The bathroom was ok, with older bath tub tile. There was just a small area for hanging clothes, so with two of us there for a week, it was a little cramped. Coffee available in the lobby was a added perk.

    5
    « Nice »

Nice hotel.. Love all the little touches in the halls with all the pictures of old cars and the pretties on each door.. Very clean room!! I screwed up and reserved a king instead of two beds for my son and I and decided not to really worry about it cause king beds are huge.. But when we got to the room there was a pull out couch and the mattress actually looked brand new.. So my son slept there and said it was really comfy.. Had a fridge and microwave and lots of room.. Nice colors and very calming.. I fell right to sleep when I hit my bed... I never do that..the pool was under construction but we didn't have time for it anyway.. I definitely recommend this hotel!!! Thank you for such a nice comfortable stay

    3
« Straight down the line US Hotel »

Warm and clean rooms and good easy distance from Henry Ford Museum. Airport pickups and drop off and pickup to the Henry Ford Museum are a bonus for visitors without a car. Lack of public transport to the main city of Detroit may hamper further coverage of Detroit's city area. Food offerings in restaurants lacking healthy options relying on more traditional American foods (fatty, salty with a distinct lack of vegetables or fruit) - so anyone from Europe or Australia might be somewhat disappointed on the menu selections. Looks like most of the American hotels I've stayed at - they seem to be on a standard model and similar age but are comfortable.

    5
    « Road trip »

Was on another work adventure and stayed at the Inn. Was surprised with all of the pictures of the different cars all throughout the Inn. The staff was really good to deal with and the bar/ restaurant was really good great food and even better prices. Mary is such a character and she made us feel as if we were home.

    « It's the best in Michigan »

It's very interesting to see how I was received by the staff chocking in and when I checked out. I had no complains at all. The location is great, easy access to the shops The hygiene in the this hotel is important and you can see it

    5
    « A great place to stay »

We always stay at this Hotel when flying out of Detroit Metro Airport. A great location close to everything we need with lots of history. Love the antiques which are scattered throughout their building.

    3
« Best front desk staff in Michigan »

All of the staff at this hotel were friendly and extremely helpful, but especially Shannon on the night shift at the front desk. Shannon is the best! Friendly, knowledgeable and a problem solver! She helped us out with a snoring neighbor in the middle of the night. What a professional.

We really liked the old style Victorian atmosphere of the hotel and the automobile pictures on the walls over the course of time we have stayed in three of their suites and the regular rooms we really like this hotel the staff is very friendly

This was my first time to this BW and I will definitely be back. The hotel is very clean and staff very accommodating and professional. The attached restaurant is an added bonus . The design of the interior of the hotel is very nice.

« Close to The Henry Ford »

Very convenient to The Henry Ford. Nice onsite restaurant and indoor pool. Lobby had coffee and tea. There was a small shop on-site to buy other beverages and microwave food. There is also a Target very near hotel

    « Tour »

Visited here for a group tour to Ford Museum and Greenfield Village. Good location to both. Found the hotel to be a group friendly rate. Nice to have a lounge in the same hotel. for those that wish to relax after an all day tour.

    3
    « Wouldn't stay again »

This is a huge hotel, very close to a major highway. Our room was on the front of the hotel so every tour bus that came in (there were a lot of them) and everyone who stood outside to smoke (lots of that too) were very close to our window. If you stayed on the back side of the hotel, I suspect you might have had a much different experience. Our room was old, the beds weren't bad, just too soft, the carpets were worn and dirty by the door. The thermostat looked like something out of a museum. Clearly this is an old hotel. The furniture and bathroom were fine as was the lobby. The pool looked nice too although we didn't use it. The staff were all very nice. We would not stay here again.

    5
    « Henry Ford visit »

The hotel had a package deal which included tickets and was in close proximity to GFV and the museum. This was a good value for our family of four. I definitely would recommend this hotel if you are looking to attend the museum and green field village

    4
    « A beautiful, grand, lady. »

What a unique property. Who would have thought of painting a hotel so pink! The longer we stayed, the more we loved it. :-) The rooms were comfortable, especially the pillows. Staff were very friendly and attentive. You could walk the halls forever and enjoy the multitude of old pictures. Very interesting for all.

    3
    « Average hotel »

Though the hotel was average, the location in vicinity of the Ford Museum was a plus. The shuttle was available to take us to & from the museum and Greenfield Village. The staff was very friendly and helpful regarding the museum but was not helpful in knowing restaurants in the area or shopping other than what was just across the road.

    5
    « Great experience »

I can't say enough about the hotel. Great staff, good room, everything was great. Three day stay, staff was helpful getting a package for The Henry Ford including breakfast, tickets, shuttle rides, the works.

    5
« Among the old cars »

A gracious "Pink Lady" with patios and gazebos but what fascinated us was the gallery of pictures/art work of old cars dating to the 1920's lining the hallways on our floor. A real history of the auto industries. The motel is closed to The Henry Ford and Greenfield Village and easy access to Detroit city but the real star was the facility and its history. One could spend hours walking the hallways admiring the art work and seeking out the "secret" tower rooms and imagine what conversations took place. In-house restaurant and bar.

    « Won't be my first choice »

When we checked in and went around to the door closest to our room, we found that the front desk worker forgot to active our keys, no big deal to go back around and have them activated. We were down here to spend time with some family and invited them to come swimming with us at our hotel. Upon arrival, we were not told that on Friday and Saturday's you had to wear wrist bands. After getting talked to about not having them, we went to the front desk to get them where we were told a limit of 5 per room and there were 7 of us. The whirlpool was closed off and I guess it has been for some time. That was a major disappointment especially since the book in the room telling you about the amenities said there was one. We were also told the owners were not planning on fixing it. Maybe they should update their information in the rooms. Despite the difficulty enjoying a swim without getting yelled at about a bracelet, the oversized pool was very nice. Had to have service come and fixed something with the toilet and they came right away. Not a terrible stay but will look elsewhere first before our next stay in town.

« Pleasing to the eye, but not a great place to stay »

Looking at this hotel, it is very beautiful. It looks like it should be on the coast of Maine or something. Inside it is old, lots of dark wood, very pretty. The hotel itself...not so great! When we first walked into the lobby, it was very busy, at least 10 people waiting to check in. Everyone was lined up in one line and the agents were telling the next person in line to come forward. So I thought the agents informed everyone to form that one line. Imagine my chagrin when people who came in 15 minutes behind me walked up to the other agent and formed a 2nd line while the rest of us in line were fuming. I blame the agents---they should have informed us there were two lines, or informed the new customers to get in the back of the very long line. When I got into my room, it was very musty. Our television did not work so we had to call maintenance who was very nice but it took 30 minutes to get it fixed. The beds were extremely lumpy. I felt I had to hold on to the side of the bed to avoid rolling off, it was very tilted as well. This hotel was also a bit confusing to get to. I would not recommend.

    « Senior Citizen Trip »

Would highly recommend this hotel. Rooms were great, beds very comfortable, food excellent. The staff was very helpful with our questions about the area. Also, the staff was helpful in providing information about the places we were going to see while we were visiting the area and gave us helpful advise on saving money on the different things.

« The Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village Visit »

The hotel staff, including the Front Desk staff, restaurant staff, housekeeping staff, and shuttle drivers were all professional and friendly. They went above and beyond to make our visit enjoyable. The food from the restaurant was excellent. The hallway décor was interesting to see all of the vintage automobiles.

« new owners, not as good »

We stayed for 4 nights, prices were up 25% from last year. We booked 9 months in advanced. We stay here every year at this time(Sept). Breakfast should be included at this price. Also the staff told us that the new owners said they are not going to fix the hot tub. This was a favorite for us. A second bartender was needed on Saturday night, customers sitting at the tables by the bar were not being waited on. Some approached the bar asking for service. The bartender was working as fast as he could. Our room thermostat was set to full warm but only cool air came out the vent. Another blanket should be provided at this time of year.

Impressed with hotel staff, accomadations, food, service, shuttle service, and hotel decoration. All made for a very pleasant stay. Thank you also for thinking of the extra special things also, fast check in and out and breakfasts expecially the grab and go breakfast for our very early train departure.

« Good and Not so good »

very nice facility if you like pink!! Rooms are nicely laid out and clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. This facility does not offer a free breakfast like most Best Westerns. Having to add the cost of breakfast to the already "high" room charge lessens the overall value of the stay. Plus, breakfast service is slow.

A good hotel to stay for the Detroit Jazz Festival, within close 15 minute drive proximity. Nice looking big pink building. Nice staff, comfortable beds, easy parking, good internet. Restaurant in hotel with 50 percent off first drink coupons.

We were participating in the Greenfield Village Old Car Show September 8-10 and after a hectic, long day of activities there it was nice to come back to this classy, well kept, quite hotel and a nice dinner in Mugly's Lounge. Everything was easy, no stress, pleasant. Will go back again

Room was very large & roomy. Exceptionally clean throughout the motel. Free wi-fi. Staff extremely courteous & efficient. Beds very comfortable. In-house restaurant reasonably priced. Decor enjoyable for car lovers - many antique car pictures & ads throughout.

« Pleasant hotel near Greenfield Village »

This is a large but attractive hotel. Our room was very nice. The hotel is a couple of miles from Greenfield Village and the Henry Ford Museum. The hotel provides a shuttle bus to and from the Henry Ford attractions. Breakfast is not provided but there is a restaurant with bar inside the hotel. Prices at the restaurant were reasonable and the food was good. The staff were all pleasant and helpful. My only criticism is that for two days I tried to use the treadmill in the fitness center but couldn't get it to work.

« Greenfield Inn, Nice Place to stay for Greenfield Village/The Henry Ford »

Spent a couple days at this hotel as part of a visit to Greenfield Village and The Henry Ford. Shuttle transported us to and from the sites. There was shopping nearby as I had to pick up some additional items. Staff was friendly and helpful. All in , a good experience.

    « Lots of Character... »

This place has lots of character? It's pink and detailed and looks like a giant tea room. The hotel has good amenities and a lovely pool and sauna. There is a restaurant on site. The room was clean overall, although I did find a phone case on the floor near the nightstand that wasn't mine. There was mold on the bathroom ceiling that looks as if it were an issue from moisture not relating to cleanliness, and I let the staff know upon check-out, so hopefully it will fixed. It was very convenient to the Henry Ford and the folks were very friendly.

« Disappointed! Never Returning... Ever. »

As my husband and i checked into the hotel. We went right in the room and settled in after a 7 hour drive and noticed that there was FOOD left behind in the fridge... Eww.. I guess things happen and that is understandable, but when i tried phoning the front desk.. there was absolutely no sincere apology given... The food almost looked like it had mold in it and was there for at least a couple of days or so. Later that night a group of youngster checked into a room close by... & just our luck it looked like a neighborhood party was arising with guests storming in and out of the room. We went ahead and called the front desk but there was absolutely no resolution. Staff was not friendly, Service was TERRIBLE. I will not be returning to this OLD dump again.

« Nice hotel, close to a lot of amenities. »

Great staff, clean rooms, pool area was large with a nice pool. The only thing that looked bad was the carpet in the hallway. Time to install new! Rooms are comfortable, reasonably priced hotel. We used Uber to go to Detroit Tigers game.

    « Quiet and charming »

Front desk was super nice and helpful. Quiet and spacious rooms with a large tv and plenty of channels and very clean. Pics of cars down the corridor is a nice touch. Beds are firm and comfortable and actually feel new. Oh - maybe not so sure about quiet, a big train just slid past. I hope that's not going to happen throughout the night!!!!

« Great hotel for Museum or Greenfield Village goers »

I was so excited when I drove up and found we were staying in a pink hotel. So cute!!! The lobby was very nice and there were fresh baked cookies on the counter. A lovely gentleman named Peter helped us and he was great! We were going to the museum the next day so he added a set of passes on our room for us which was great cause we got to skip the line the next day. Our room was very comfortable. The pool was very nice. We were given some drink coupons for the bar but we were so tired we never went down there. Wish we would have cause it looked very nice. Great stay! Great staff!

« Excellent lodging and The Henry Ford package »

When we decided to include a visit to The Henry Ford on our vacation itinerary, I spent a lot of time investigating every possible way to pay for the tickets and to find decent, affordable accommodations. During this process, I called the front desk of the Best Western Greenfield Inn multiple times. It was obvious the employees were very busy. Nonetheless, each time I was greeted by very agreeable people who patiently answered every one of my questions. It was evident that we had hit a home run as soon as we arrived. Appearance-wise, the building could compete with a higher end hotel. The place is beautifully decorated, with the walls of the halls lined with pleasant framed pictures centered on an automobile motif. Even the wide stairwells are very nicely painted and carpeted. Our room couldn't have been nicer. If I had to choose something about which to say something negative, I'd have to pick the size of the bathroom. It's a bit small but more than adequate. Saying that, although, for my tastes, there could have been more places to hang towels, it had more towel racks available than any other hotel bathroom I've used. It even had a retractable line on which I could hang my swim clothes to dry. In spite of being adjacent to major roads, the place is quiet. Navigating the halls could be confusing except for the wonderful signage. The first thing we did was to sign up for the shuttle to The Henry Ford, the cost being part of our package. That saved us having to brave traffic in an area unfamiliar to us and having to pay a $6 parking fee. Going, the shuttles leave on a schedule. Coming back, we called when we were ready to be picked up; our wait was very short. Both drivers were so personable. The vehicles were attractive and clean. We were given four vouchers for The Henry Ford. It was up to us to order which sections of it we wanted to visit, which we did when we redeemed them at The Henry Ford. We received vouchers which gave us four choices for breakfast in the attached restaurant. The food is made to order and absolutely delicious. If anyone leaves hungry, something is wrong. The portions are huge. Everything was included in the package: coffee, tea, juice, even the tip! I used the pool. Although it is inside the building, that section is surrounded by a very relaxing interior outdoor-like area with foliage (real or fake ? didn't check this out), tables, chairs, and table umbrellas, and it is lovely. Sorry, can't think of the wording I want. For a hotel, the pool is huge. The water was perfect. Although it was crowded, the size allowed me to easily swim as I had wanted. The number of pool towels available were abundant. The absolute best asset this property has is a wonderful staff. Every person with whom we interacted came across as being genuinely affable. The atmosphere greatly contributed to our break from the daily grind. Based on my experience, I highly recommend the Best Western Greenfield Inn to anyone who needs lodging in the Dearborn, MI area.

« Wonderful Stay and Staff »

You can read more of my reviews and of our trips at 'TravelPhotosnFood.com' We were on a 3,000 motorcycle ride and chose the Best Western Greenfield Inn for it's location near some places we wanted to visit. Upon arriving and just our luck we found a bus unloading and numerous people in the lobby. Check-in went pretty quickly and I was greeted by a smiling face and friendly conversation. After parking and unloading our things we headed to the room. The hallway was clean and fresh smelling. Upon entering the room it was large. Everything was clean and fresh looking. The bed was comfortable, bathroom was clean and had plenty of towels. They even had a massage chair in the room. After cleaning up we went down to the restaurant at the hotel for a few drinks and a snack. The waitress was friendly and the mozzarella sticks were good. We headed back to our room for a quite and comfortable nights sleep. The next morning we went back to the restaurant for breakfast which is not included and completely separate cost. We both ordered the Corn Flake encrusted Wheat French Toast with the low sugar syrup and hashbrowns, orange juice and coffee. The French toast was very good. When we went to leave the hotel I discovered my battery had died. It was getting kind of weak but I was keeping my fingers crossed it would last the remainder of our trip. My wife went back inside and the front desk said they would send someone right away to assist us. Nick, the chief engineer at the hotel arrived and tried to start my motorcycle. Due to the battery placement it was very hard to find a good connection and we were unsuccessful. I asked Nick where was a close location to get a battery and he got one of their shuttle vans and took us to a battery warehouse not far from the hotel to get a replacement. When we got back to the hotel he made sure everything was Ok and we were good to go.

« Good option if your watching your budget. »

Got a great online deal so decided to take a chance and stay here. Older hotel, reminded me of places that I stayed at as a kid. Our room was clean. Awesome woodwork everywhere, you won't find this in a new hotel. My daughter would call the neighborhood "sketchy" but we are from the country. Definitely plenty of security options like needing a room key to get into the hotel and it appears they could close the parking lot gates at night (we were not out past dark to see). We stayed one night to visit the Henry Ford and it was the perfect cheap in-and-out option for that.

« Could be better, could be worse »

My stay was so-so. First room was not good with a horrible smell that would not go away. I was given a new room by a nice lady at the desk however the head of housekeeping was not nice about it and seemed put-out by my complaint. I got no sense of her wanting to assist me with the issue. My second room was fine and appeared clean. The restaurant food was okay, nothing amazing but not horrible. We did get some under cooked food once but the waitress got us new food that was fine. My biggest complain regarding the restaurant was the waiting. Getting a table and getting orders placed took forever. I got the impression that they were short staffed although the person who I thought was the hostess ignored quite a few people waiting for a table so I'm not sure what her job function was. Overall I'd go with 3 stars. Not the worse place I've stayed but far from the best. It was convenient to be close to the Henry Ford Museum which was our destination and the free shuttle was handy as long as you asked for a return ride well in advance of when you wanted to head back.

    « Convenient »

We stayed two nights in this hotel recently. The shuttle service to and from the airport was excellent. They will also provide shuttle service to the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village which is a real plus. The rooms seemed a bit dated to me. The early American décor reminded me of my mother's parlor. The rooms also seemed very dark with tan walls and dark brown accent walls. They need to update the décor. The bed was very comfortable but the pillows were a bit lumpy. There is an onsite restaurant which has a nice selection and a very affordable breakfast buffet. The restaurant staff was especially friendly and helpful. There is also an onsite coin laundry which I find very helpful when traveling.

    4
    « Cleanlyness »

Rooms were very clean and comfortable. There was no working hot tub. The pool is heated but was often full of unsupervised teens. The décor is lovely. The staff are very helpful and pleasant. A free continental breakfast is not available but there is a restaurant located inside.

« Handy hotel for visiting Dearborn »

Booking online was easy and checking in a snap. I had asked for a quiet room and the front desk staff mentioned my request and responded. Lots of folks at this large hotel but room was very quiet and close to where my car was parked. Large clean room with two comfy queen size beds. Fabulous car photos on the walls of the walkways. A bonus was the big HD television with HD reception. Highly recommend this hotel if you are staying in the area.

    « Pink Palace »

Made the reservation before the trip going to Grand Rapids for a convention. This property is rather unique. from the pink exterior to door bells on the doors. The free shuttle that they offer to the Ford Museum and Greenfield Village is a nice plus. No free breakfast which can be a good thing since you don't have to eat the same things day after day. The restaurant attached has a nice variety in their menu. Comfortable, clean room. The bathroom had a design flaw of placing the door an inch from the toilet when swung open. Middle of the night trip, without turning on a light, means you can smack an elbow or nose on the handle. Staff was very friendly. Unfortunately I seem to be running into an issue of not having a hot tub available for relaxing after the days drive. If this trend continues I may have to switch to a different chain. Fourth BW we have stayed in and only the Lincoln, Ne. had a working tub.

« Family Going to Greenfield Village & Henry Ford Museum »

What started out as two people coming to the Hotel to revisit Greenfield Village and Henry Form Museum after fifty one years comes back as a Homage to the late Aunt and Uncle who brought me there when i was ten. 8 more relatives join in on this fun filled trip. We love this hotel, but the restaurant needs more help. Hands down that was a small problem since they bent over backwards to please. I give this two thumbs up. The hotel bus will take and pick you up from the Henry Ford Museum. Lots of fun! Thanks Best Western!

I would definitely stay there again. In fact, I am expected to have more meetings in Detroit and I definitely DO plan to go back there. Nice place, clean, safe, attractive, good restaurant .... all in all, a great place to stay on a business trip.

    « Many good things »

Place is outdated in terms of business travelers' needs in the room. We had some paperwork to do, but not enough room for two people to work together. Beds are comfortable and rooms are quiet. Location is convenient by I-94. Restaurant is convenient for hours, good value for food, and service.

    « Great Value »

Excellent location for Detroit activities. Drove into downtown for a Tigers game on Friday evening and it 15 minutes at 5 pm. Spent next day at Henry Ford Museum and literally 5 minute drive. Again GREAT location right off I-94 at exit 206. We paid $103 for a King bed room. It is an old style hotel that you can tell they have put some $$ into. Modern flat screen, bed super comfy, and bathroom redone as well. Not perfect, but we will definitely stay here again when visiting our daughter in the D. :-)

    « The Pink Palace »

I stayed at the Greenfield in for 5 nights while attending a conference at the Henry Ford. You can't miss it - it is large, pink, and visible from the highway. It appears to be stuck in the 70s and badly in need of a decor upgrade. My room was very clean but had a funny perfumed smell every day that I found unpleasant. Comfortable bed with plentiful pillows and good quality linens. Great internet. Loved the Bath and Body Works toiletries. A fine budget choice.

    « Great Experience »

I stayed at this property with my family for a weekend. It is conveniently located of I 94 and is in close proximity to Detroit or the Detroit International Airport. This is a large hotel that has several room choices. We stayed in the 2 Queen bed room. It was nicely appointed and the room has furnishings that replicated antique furniture. The beds were comfortable and the climate control worked well on this hot weekend. The lobby was updated and was inviting. The hotel is adorned with hundreds of pictures of vintage cars on the walls given its proximity to Ford Museum. The staff were helpful and positive. The pool is huge and there are at least 20 tables to sit at around the pool. This is one of the nicer pools we have seen .It has a deep end of 8.5 feet and there are no lifeguards. The stay was positive and I would recommend it .

« Room good, dinner not so much »

The room in this hotel was standard Best Western -- Could have used a little rehab, but was ok. We were part of a group and had dinner in the restaurant. My food was totally cold (other people who got their food later had hot food). Since there were three choices, I have the feeling that they prepped a bunch of food and then plated it for the first bunch of people. I complained to the waitress and all she said was sorry. My steak was paper thin and well done, although I asked for rare. Overall, not a good meal. The breakfast food was cold -- sausage and bacon were burnt as well.

A diamond in the rough. I couldn't believe how beautiful the entire hotel is. Outdoor gazebos, gas grill, Pet friendly, Koi pond w/ turtles- it just goes on and on. The staff are just wonderful. I can't imagine any way to improve this hotel. Great restaurant, clean, comfortable rooms- I slept better than I have in years !! Maybe it was the nightly walks around the lighted gazebos. For a pet friendly, and plenty of smoking areas- this place is cleaner than any other hotel I've stayed in. I will be back....

« A must stay, close to all Ford Museums »

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel. First was 10 yrs ago and wanted to come back and see Ford Museum and other things again and def wanted to stay here. It is like being in a museum with all the pictures between each of the doors. You could spend a long time on each floor. The doors are also very pretty as well as the rooms. Don't be fooled by the outside, this is a very large place. Highly recommend for everyone and you want be disappointed. Also has a restaurant on premise that is very good and reasonable. Only negative was we did not like the beds, needed replacing in our rooms.

    2
« People Good, Service Not »

The hotel has some things that are very good. The lobby felt like going back into time to a slower pace with chairs that reflect that they are close to Greenfield Village and the Henry Ford Museum. Rooms are comfortable and clean, although the room thermostat should be upgraded because it's hard to see in low light and the switch is confusing. Most of the staff shows they care about the customer and welcome you with open arms. However, there are a few things that visitors should look out for. First, if you're arriving late at or leaving early from DTW, the airport shuttle ends at 10pm and doesn't start again until 7am. We had to pay $30 to get to the hotel with a cab. Second, one of the front desk people tried to find us a bank in the area and sent us to an office building with no branch there because none of their locations is in the Detroit area. Third, the pool was closed when we got in. There was a note saying they had to upgrade the facility. A front desk clerk told me that it would reopen at 3pm. It was still closed and later told me it was going to open at 4:30pm. When it wasn't open, I asked her to phone my room to make sure I know that the pool has reopened. Instead of calling my room, they called another room. Just those three things made the visit not enjoyable. I booked this through Hotwire and hope that they put that information on its website more clearly.

    « Pink Palace »

We had a good stay here. Hotel is clean, and the restaurant is very good. Not the best hotel as far as quiet...we could hear each door closing around us. Excellent shuttle service to the Henry Ford. Just a caution...hotel is sort of isolated so there isn't an opportunity to take a casual walk.

« Good Value for the Price »

This is a very nice quaint hotel located right off the freeway. Very secured location. However, due to the timing of the season we were not able to control the temperature of the room - darn near frozen to death. The staff was very pleasant and provided a couple of blankets but sleeping both nights was extremely uncomfortable. This hotel does not provide the usual Best Western free breakfast - I guess due to an on-site restaurant. The breakfast prices were comparable to others in the area and the food was delicious. I don't plan to return to this hotel due to the heating/cooling situation.

    5
« Super Value for The Henry Ford Village and Museum »

This is a great value because the package includes the room, shuttle (saves on parking!), tickets to the attractions, breakfast, pool, and great service. The bed and linens are super comfy. The pool was crowded, but fun. The breakfast is not buffet, but still generous, hot and delicious.

    « Family Trip »

We chose to stay at the BW because it was the highest reviewed in the area with the best price. The hotel was interesting, the bright pink color certainly stood out when you drove past. The staff were friendly and the room was clean, I would say the maids could have been a bit more attentive, I had to request cleaning service in order for them to clean the room. Otherwise the stay was very nice, the internet was average speed but it allowed me to get my work done without issue.

Very very nice staff from check in to check out: Shannon is always prompt and friendly especially at 4am and her check out helper is furry adorable. The hotel offers quick room service with really good salads.

This place is awesome! It has that old school feel to it but the place is well kept and clean rooms! You can feel the history when you walk around the place. Love the decor as it adds to the history of the place and city. It has a awesome bar, restaurant and a lil store to buy food and supplies, it was perfect! Staff was really nice. The rooms have a mini fridge and microwave, which you can buy things to cook at their lil store which was very convenient. Room had very comfortable beds with a big flat screen TV that has satellite TV!!! It was very affordable, easy to get to and only 10mins away from the city. There's a shopping center 5mins away for all your shopping needs. It has a pool and spa in it to relax. A nice courtOverall this place was amazing and will be our go to place when we visit. Strongly recommend this place to anyone! Great job guys! You will be seeing us again! :)

    « Older hotel, but a comfortable night's stay »

I had requested a room on the top floor so that I could have a quieter room, and the clerk granted my request. She was friendly and professional. Although the hotel looks older, the room itself was comfortable. My room key didn't seem to work to gain access into the building, but there were several doors, so I was able to choose a door that was unlocked. Once I was in my room, I liked that there was a partial room divider to keep outside noise at a minimum (I had to get up at 3:30am). The room was super quiet, and I was very grateful. Everything was very clean and in good working order. The bed and pillows were comfortable, too. The only minor issue was when I left the hotel at 4:30am. The exit was closed off, so I had to go another way to leave the property which was a little confusing. Also, there was a strange odor in the elevator. Nevertheless, I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

make sure you understand about the museum and village trips. If you take the two day tour you can only go to one place a day if you go to both in one day you will have to pay the second day. the person at the museum that took our voucher for the tickets did not explain that to us.We had to change our trip from a 2 day to a single stay

« Silver medal, not gold »

This is a very large, sprawling hotel and I would need to stay there at least a week before I would feel confident about finding my way around. The room we had was very nice, but as always, one or two bad points overshadow dozens of good points. In this case the curtains would not close completely, leaving a 3-4 inch gap, and the aerator on the sink faucet was plugged, sharply reducing water flow. Small defects like this tarnish an otherwise gold medal experience. I have gotten used to great free breakfasts in BW hotels and paying $12 for French Toast and s slice of ham was enough to make me a bit grumpy, despite the good service.

    « Very Nice »

I am always cautious about Best Western. Some are downright scary while others are a big surprise. Such was the case with the Greenfield Inn. The room was very clean, the staff was pleasant, the bed was ever so comfortable and it was quiet. We were part of a bus trip and some of our people were not pleased with the restaurant for dinner as the service was extremely slow and the food not that good. However, we did not eat, so it was no problem for us. The breakfast provided for our bus was excellent. Loved the pink color and the vintage furnishings which were all new as well as the carpet.

    « Beautiful Hotel »

Customer Service was top notch - friendly and assisting customers whenever they were asked or saw that one looked like they needed help. The rooms were very clean. The hotel common areas and rooms were furnished with beautiful furniture. The round the clock coffee and tea and the daily newspaper was a nice touch. We really enjoyed the onsite restaurant and bar. The bartenders and wait staff were very friendly and attentive. The only criticism we had was the quality of the food at Mugli's the on site restaurant. We ate breakfast there three times and dinner once. I ordered three different egg dishes and even just the scrambled eggs were not to my liking. In addition, there was a slight inattention to details (e.g., the cap on the bottle of hot sauce was caked with old sauce and we were given an envelope of tea that contained folded used sugar bags that was apparently bussed from a previous customer's table).

    « Air Travel Night »

Nice hotel near the location I needed, by the airport. Room was clean and in good condition. The bed was very comfortable. Road noise was real noticeable. I had no problem sleeping through it, but it bothered my wife. If noise like that bothers you just ask for a room away from the expressway. Not much within walking distance, but they have most things right there. Breakfast is not included but you can still eat there for a reasonable price.

    « Comfortable »

Our family of two adults and extra-large 16-year-old was for a single night. Our room had two queen-sized beds that were very comfortable. The room was well equipped with a large TV, coffee maker and microwave. The exterior decor is a bit "Pepto Bismol", but the room was modernly decorated.

« Do yourself a favor, stay somewhere else. »

This hotel is straight from the 1970s, and has not been updated since. The rooms, carpets, bathrooms, hallways, and everything about the hotel is old. The internet while free, is slower than molasses in the winter. The best part of the stay was when I asked for the hotel shuttle, I was told it had stopped running for the evening. I can understand that, it was after 10:30 pm and you can't ask for everything. But, lo and behold, 10 minutes after I checked in, here come the hotel shuttle dropping off guests. Nice touch.

    « A Welcome "Port" for a Stormy Day »

This is an unusual post in that usually you review a property that you have stayed in overnight. However, my experience here was so extraordinary I had to make an exception to this precedent. My story begins when I was attempting to cross into Canada with a fully-loaded Snap On Tool Truck. However, when I arrived at US Customs I was informed that their EXPORT SYSTEM was down and I had to exit their facility and wait until their system was back up. Unfortunately, this was on a Sunday and I was given no assurance that I would be able to cross at all that day. So, I left the facility and headed back West on I-94 to find a place to wait out their glitch. About 10 minutes on the road I spotted this very unique Best Western and being a Diamond member of their Rewards program felt right at home asking them if I could spend some time in their lobby and wait for clearance to cross into Canada. Being Sunday, their restaurant was very busy with local family business as well as hotel guests. However, Jessica, the Front Desk Clerk, was very hospitable and made me feel comfortable with "hanging out" in their very comfortable lobby. Jessica offered me their WiFi password so I could get my emails. At noon their restaurant closed (noon till 4 PM) and Jessica asked if I was getting hungry and offered me a list of local food that offered delivery to the hotel. I was thankful that she was looking out for my wellfare and enjoyed a delicious sub sandwich to hold me over. Several hours later it looked like I would not be crossing that day so I inquired about the availability of a room for the night. Because of my Diamond status, Jessica reserved a room which she upgraded to a Suite and offered me a discount based upon my AAA membership. An hour later I decided to take her up on her offer and checked into a gorgeous suite. However, I called US Customs one more time and was informed that their Export System was now up and had to "sheepishly" approach the Front Desk to cancel. They were very understanding and cancelled my booking and I was soon on my way to Canada thankful for finding a truly hospitable and caring place to relax while awaiting my fate. I am supremely grateful to Jessica and the staff at Best Western Greenfield Inn and hope to return soon for some real Rest and Relaxation.

« Horrible Stay if you have Kids »

This place has HORRIBLE service!! If you have any children, do not stay here. They are not allowed in any main area beyond 9pm. Pool area closed to kids, because ONE COUPLE wanted the pool area to themselves. Ridiculous! Cocky front desk staff--seem to enjoy telling the children they were to leave immediately. Earlier in the evening we asked for a suggestion on where to order pizza--they said "just google it."

Booked a room for my nieces wedding. Loved everything about the hotel. It's next to a freeway and our room was on that side but it wasn't as bad as other places that were next to a freeway. Wish we'd had time to enjoy the restaurant, other family members said the omelette is huge and tasty. They also used the pool and hot tub and gave those two thumbs up. Maybe next time.

    « A great surprise! »

Best Westerns have always been a safe bet for us. We were blowing across the country on a road trip and fortunately I have the wherewithal to make a reservation. Folks beware! If you're driving east in the autumn keep college football in mind! We were starting to get a little weary and thought we might stop earlier, in Ann Arbor. NOT a good idea.. The State Patrol actually closed some of the exit ramps because of the traffic involved with the game.. Lucky for us we had a reservation at the Pink Palace. The hotel is located right off the highway ? very convenient. I'm guessing if you're familiar with the neighborhood you'd be able to find some decent restaurants. Fortunately they have a restaurant on site and my husband had an amazing burger.. The place was bustling with a tour of retirees plus a ton of kids and families. You have to sign a waiver that you won't have more than 5 people in the room and that you'll be respectful of the other guests.. I'm guessing this is due to the football crowd.. Our room was big, and clean and offered an assortment of pillows.. The bathroom was small, not a lot of counter space, but suited our needs. The room also had a very small refrigerator and a Keurig. We had a decent night's sleep and left early to hit the road! Would I stay there again? Doubtful that I would be driving by there again.

« Very nice and relaxing »

We stayed on a Sunday and were able to check in early. We had the whole pool area to yourselves most of the day! It was very relaxing. I am just more upset with the maintenance they were doing to the pool area on our day of check out. We were planning on swimming that morning. But overall we had a great time!

    « wonderful hotel...the Pink Palace ! »

arrived on a girls' night away, to see the Henry Ford Museum. We were welcomed with smiles, cookies and information. Since there were 3 of us, we purchased another breakfast and admission ticket. Our room was spacious, clean had a bar frig and microwave. Even tough the highway was nearby, we barely heard it. Breakfast was to order and really good. Frank shuttled us to the Museum and he couldn't have been nicer. Raegan was so helpful as were the entire desk staff. The mall was just across the highway with lots of shopping.I would highly recommend staying here to visit Henry Ford / Greenfield Village.

« An exceptionally fun hotel. »

Stayed here for two nights so we could visit The Henry Ford museum and Rouge Assembly plant. Found the "Pink Palace" Best Western in Allen Park to be a Victorian attraction in itself! Well appointed with historical automotive industry décor. Comfortable clean room. Perfect setting for our mission. Restaurant was very good and staff was attentive and friendly. Appreciated the van service for the short ride to The Henry Ford attractions. Only downer was the 16 youth hockey teams using the hotel that same weekend.... Many of whom needed additional supervision. Cops came about 2:00 AM to break up a parent-coach fight that apparently wasn't settled on the rink.

    « Mixed review »

Great location and we love the town. Great lakeside view. However this is an old hotel, apparently with several additions over the years. We were given a very inconvenient room location with stairs to climb as no elevator was available to get to our "lower level" room or to the "upper level" breakfast area. Most hotel staff was very pleasant and helpful, but breakfast crew could not keep up with replenishing menu items as they were used up. Edges around carpet were cruddy with many years of vacuums not able to clean.

« Ghosts at the Hotel »

I have stayed twice before at this lovely hotel. What keeps me coming back are the rather extensive collections of automobile art displayed throughout the hallways. The hotel is a puzzle box maze of interconnected corridors which seem to go on forever, not unlike the Shining. In fact the good Dr. Kavorkian spent time at this grand hotel where he performed mercy killings for end of life people. They still roam the hallways I'm told. Several items that were secured in our bags fell on the floor while we were there. Spooky at Halloween too. Overall the hotel is a fun place to stay. You won't be disappointed. I'll go back again next time I'm in Detroit. BTW, the waitress Crystal confirmed that the place is haunted and was told to not talk about it by her boss. She freaked when the power went out unexpectedly one night and she refused to put glow sticks in the hallways. She is still working after four years and is a very nice person despite the ghosts. I especially enjoyed the bar. It is comfortable and inviting. I have stayed in quite a few hotels and this one is my favorite. We loved the Michigan Cherry salad, a must eat treat, at the restaurant. The pizza is chewy and wonderfully flavored. The fish fry came with a huge salad smothered in blue cheese. All my breakfast items were delicious. The location is close to downtown and Slow's BarB Q and only a short drive to Smokies in Wayandotte as well. Happy Trails To You, Until We Meet Again.

We stayed at this Best Western while attending a 2 day class in the area. The check in was easy and the room was comfortable. We were on the first floor and is was quiet (except for a short time Fri night when people in the parking lot were a little loud) and the beds were very comfortable. The bathtub faucet dripped, but we reported that. We would stay here again. Breakfast was what we expected.

« Train your cleaning staff »

I was there on business and having worked long hours the day before, I wanted to only sleep in and get some rest and sleep all morning. At 9am, the cleaning lady rings the bell three times and comes inside the room waking me up and no apologies from her for coming in while I'm in the room sleeping. Mgmt has serious problems and they need not to bother ringing the bell unless its after 12 or later.....no one wants to be bothered this early. Will never stay there again.

« We went to a concert at Fox Theater, 15 min drive to the theater. »

Room was ok,bed was comfortable, bathroom was clean, carpet very dirty and sticky ,a little noisy, you could hear water running somewhere there.... in the middle of the night, all night. The main complaint was that the cleaning lady rang the door bell(yes, the rooms have door bells ) at 8:30 am to clean !!! It was pretty scary,we didn't know what the hell that was, then, just because we did not put the "do not disturb sign "in the door, she knocked in the door again around 10:00 ,that was upsetting,we came back very late from the concert and we were looking forward to sleep in a little, considering that check out time was noon.....

Our stay here was enjoyable in every regard. The check-in and check-out was easy. The motel staff were very friendly, courteous, and helpful. Denise and Markeia, the desk staff, took extra steps to make our stay pleasant. The comfort of the beds, the cleanliness of the room, and the amenities in the room met or exceeded our expectations. We recommend this motel to anyone staying in Dearborn. It is also close, with easy access, to the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village.

    « Great Stay »

We stayed two nights at this hotel. The staff was very friendly and were able to accommodate our request to be on the first floor near a door. The reception desk clerk had just baked cookies when we walked in so we got a treat at the time of check in. The room was on the back side of the hotel and was well appointed and very clean, with the king bed being very comfortable. We ate all our meals, breakfast and supper, in the restaurant as they do not have a breakfast room that is included with the reservations. The staff in the restaurant were friendly and the food was great. We were visiting the Henry Ford Museum on Thursday and Friday and the hotel was a perfect place to stay as the museum is just 2 miles away. If we were visiting Allen Park again, we would definitely stay here.

« NO ADEQUATE CLIMATE CONTROL AND POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE »

Stayed at this facility and expected better for the price. I can't recall staying in a hotel where you could not control the room temperature, and the reasoning from the staff was that "the seasons are changing and the temperature outside is changing, so therefore we are switching over to heat". How, in this day and age, can you be given a box fan to put in the window, because someone arbitrarily decided to change the system for the whole hotel??? FIRST night - fine temperature control, no problem. SECOND night 75 degrees in the room and no cooler!!! If I want my room to be 65 DEGREES THAT IS MY CHOICE NOT BEST WESTERN'S!! RIDICULOUS and I will never stay here again and probably any other Best Western.

    « Best western »

I am here in the hotel- right now. Someone is having a little Halloween party in their rooms- absolutely no place to park- between guest for the little party and the way some equipment is park literally not a parking spot to be found. Front desk beyond rude when I stopped and asked where I could park because as an actual paying customer with a room I would think I would be entitled to one parking spot. That I should not have to park my car off of the property. Cannot describe in words how nasty she was... Perhaps I will go back to the front desk so I can post her name here. Just cannot understand how party guest would trump an actual paying guest. So how shall you make up for this shoddy treatment? You won't.

« Booked through website -Reservation Lost - Refused To Help »

I booked online for a same day stay tonight. I arrived at the property and they said they didn't have my reservation. I booked it through this property's website (see photo), not a third party. The staff were not sympathetic and basically shrugged and said I would have to call corporate. I did and corporate did not have my reservation either? I asked the clerk if they had a room available anyway and she said yes, but it was not the same room type I reserved. I said whatever, we had been on the road for hours and told her to book it. I mentioned I have a dog with me and she said she didn't have pet rooms available. I calmly asked "so you can't help me then" and the clerk became agitated and said "WE HAVE NO PET ROOMS"...at no point in the booking process was I asked about pets and nowhere on this property's webpage is there any indication that there are only limited pet rooms available. I asked for the managers card and the clerk said something under her breath and gave it to me. I was flabbergasted and left. I usually stay at IHG properties, and this was my first experience with Best Western (and probably last). We went to a different hotel. Buyer beware.

The TV there was really small. I found a cigarette in my bed even if it was a non-smoking room. The room in general was really small. Luckily, I had The Henry Ford Museum to look after. The carpet in the hotel was fine. I could get the same in a motel!

« Great Staff, Great Stay »

This hotel has everything, restaurant, lounge, gym, indoor pool, meeting rooms, even a tiny gift shop, and yet does not put extra "authorizations" and "holds" on your card for any of them. This is a real plus for me since I don't enjoy waiting days or weeks for the money to come back on my card. The hotel is well decorated, many antiques and artwork and all fairly well kept. The hotel is older, but has been well maintained. The staff is wonderful especially Tanita. She assisted me with my reservation and answered many questions ahead of time for me. She was also there when I checked in which I appreciated also. The hotel has a nice bar & restaurant which I patronized and received good food & service. They also offer room service. The room was clean and ready for me even though I got there ahead of check in time. (Tanita helped with this also). The parking lot seemed to adequate in size and well lit which I appreciated since I came back late at night, both nights I was there. They offer a shuttle to Greenfield Village too. The only complaint I would have was regarding the elevator closest to the lobby. It was very slow and I never saw anyone use it. It also appeared to be on the small size which would make using a luggage cart tricky. Instead I had to go quite a ways to the back to get to a faster, bigger elevator. Other than this, I graded this stay excellent and would definitely stay here again!

We stayed here for one night as part of a tour group so can't comment on value for money. Our room was spacious and clean with a well appointed bathroom and all the ammenities needed for a comfortable stay. We had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant and both were enjoyable and reasonably priced. « Just for fun... »

Staff was friendly. Pool area very spacious and clean. Has private courtyard with (3) gazebos which made our stay nice. The hotel is nice with a lot of fun auto related pictures throughout the entire property but its getting a bit rundown. Corridor carpet is in desperate need of replacement although don't let that prevent you from staying. The entire place could just use some updates and "new stuff" smell. Food was good in the restaurant as was the service. Nice old school bar to relax with a drink. Very convenient to The Henry Ford Museum, Greenfield Village, airport and even to down town Detroit.

    « Putrid Pink »

The hotel room is fine. The air conditioner is loud and shakes when it runs. It is so noisy that guest can't hear the television. The room is clean, but not spotless. There is layered dust behind toilet, behind furniture and under sinks. The toilet flusher was broken-it had disconnected from plunger. Needs a refresh. Room service is poor. I ordered a pizza and soda. The kitchen said that the timing would be a little longer, maybe 15-20 minutes. After an hour and a half I called. the kitchen stated they forgot to get my room number. I was served soggy pizza under a plastic wrap - it was mush. I will not order room service again!

Even the other guests were very friendly there! Nice restaurant and lounge on location. Very nice pool and exercise area. Great courtyard with 3 gazebos to hang out in. Even an outside grill to barbecue in if you would like. There is a microwave and mini-fridge in the rooms. Will definitely recommend to friends and family visiting the area. You can stay there with confidence.

We have stayed at the Greenfield Inn twice a year for about 12 years now . We stop by at the Michigan Welcome center and some times we get a discount coupon for the Greenfield Inn . I have presented this coupon in the past and it had worked, on this visit I was told it would only work for a "low end room " , no where on this coupon does it state that the coupon is only good for a low end room ! I was told to keep the coupon and use it on our next visit , well that's not going to happen ! It appears that they had some staff changes .

    « The Pink Palace »

It is pink and easy to spot during the daytime. I liked our king size room, but it was a long way from the lobby. We had breakfast at the on site restaurant, but I was surprised that there was not a free breakfast provided. This is a first in years of staying at Best Western hotels. Breakfast was reasonably priced. I got a good deal for a 3-day stay, so I can't complain too loudly. I was just surprised. The location is close to The Henry Ford. Shuttle service is available. The immediate area around the facility feels industrial. It is a bit isolated due to the highways around it. Despite following the "green" instructions to save laundering our sheets and towels, the linens seemed to have been replaced everyday. It's not that I don't like fresh towels, but why give the option if it is going to be ignored?

    « Tired But Acceptable »

Pluses were the nice pool area (8 ft. deep pool, Jacuzzi), friendly staff, large room size, parking lot. Minuses were the horrible continental breakfast, older carpeting and woodwork, outside appearance (pink!), so soo restaurant food.

    « Henry Ford Experience »

Great package deal at this hotel to visit the Henry Ford. Bed and Bathrooms were clean, food in restaurant also was good. Courtesy shuttle also very good. The only complaint would be about the smoke. While it is a non-smoking hotel, and the room did not smell of smoke, there was always a smoke smell in the hallways, and lobby area. We just held out nose a bit, and walked straight to our rooms with no problem. It was a neat hotel to explore.

« Pretty darn good in pink! »

I chose this hotel because it seemed easy to find after our night arrival at the Detroit airport and because the Henry Ford Museum was our first destination the next morning. When we pulled in, my husband said "a pink hotel?" But once inside, he was enthralled by all the car photos, paintings, prints, etc. that line the halls on each floor! Even though it was after 9, we had a nice dinner in the dining room -- and then he spent more than an hour taking photos of the hall art! Next morning, the Henry Ford was only minutes away. We liked the easy trip from the airport, so we reserved again for 10 days later. This time there were nearly a hundred mustangs in the parking lot -- so again I lost my husband and his camera for an hour or more! Discovered the Mustang Owners Club of Southeastern Michigan was having its annual Mustang Memories at nearby Ford World Headquarters. The hotel is spread about in 3 (?) wings, so wandering about gets a little confusing -- unless you're busy looking at the art and don't worry about finding your destination! Our room was spacious, great bed, nice furnishings.

« Nice hotel close to Henry Ford Museum »

Know locally as the Pink Palace. Nice hotel but very isolated and nothing close buy to get provisions if you don't have a car. Meal in restaurant was ok and breakfast the same. Service in restaurant was slow. Nice touch with cookies in reception in the evening, room was clean and tidy. Did use the pool.

    « Celebration »

I held a 80th birthday celebration for my mother. The event was done so well by the hotel staff she was left with tears. From the check-in, through the event, and check out the staff was outstanding. Everyone went out of their way to be accommodating. The attention to detail was incredible.

Nice hotel, could use some updating, carpet in hall was pieced together with duct tape. Beds very comfortable. Breakfast not included unless you had a package. We were there for a wedding and stayed 3 nights. Staff was very nice and helpful.

I would recommend the Greenfield Inn for it's unique and enjoyable experience. The restaurant was really good and actually had reasonable prices. The staff went over and above to help with all our needs.

« Best value, great guest experience »

We stayed here for the purpose of experiencing the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village. The staff were amazing, always wanting to do whatever they could for us. The room and bed were very clean, well appointed and comfortable. Highly recommend this hotel. Great value!

« Nicely kept old lady affectionately called the pink palace »

I have stayed here 2 's in the past year. Yes it is old but the rooms I've been in were all clean and very spacious. In fact for a family they have a 'bigger' room option that works great for accommodating all that luggage, a roll away, etc. The queen size beds are very comfortable, prices very real for the value. There is no free breakfast here but a sundry shop w $2. frozen sandwiches if you don't wish to be seated in the on-site restaurant. Such a perfectly convenient place to stay when visiting The Henry Ford stuff.

    « Perfectly Pink »

Two weeks in a row I stayed for business in the Detroit area. This BW is very clean, and I am a clean freak. No stray hairs, no dust or dirt behind furniture, no stains-very clean! The staff have been very friendly and kind. Room service is fast and the food is good. My first stay was several nights and housekeeping was terrific! The second stay was overnight. Both rooms were large and we'll do prayed for the Henry Ford Museum & Greenfield Village area.

    « Always great! »

This is my go-to place in Detroit! Great little pub and good food. Wonderful pool and courtyard with flowers and gazebos, Also, nice to be able to turn off air conditioning and open windows. Pool open early and late with special hours for "adults only".

    « No free breakfast??? »

Overall a decent hotel, but a bit pricey for what you get. Seriously, no free breakfast? There are plenty of choices in the area for less that at least give you breakfast. While this place does have an airport shuttle, we waited 40 minutes to be picked up because the driver couldn't find us, at the shuttle pickup. Our room was a long walk down the hallway. The location is good, between the airport and the city. Restaurant was decent.

« Beautiful hotel with lovely antiques »

This hotel is very beautiful and has some lovely antique furniture. They also have a nice lounge on site. Outside in the courtyard are some cute gazebos that are wonderful to lounge in. Very pleasant stay.

    « Great experience! »

This Best Western is perfectly located for visiting Henry Ford Museum, Ford Rouge Factory Tour, Greenfield Village, and Greektown. The accommodations are clean, well kept, spacious and clean pool, in-house restaurants, and plenty of parking. The staff goes out of their way to make you comfortable, quiet at night. Good value, too!

    « The Pink Palace »

Excellent hotel. Close to Greenfield Village and the Henry Ford Museum. The staff was friendly and efficient. The food was good and reasonably priced. The pool, sauna, and hot tub were excellent. The Chlorine levels perfect, no burn or itch from the water. Loved the outside Courtyard with the gazebo's. Will likely go back.

    « Great stay! »

We spent 2 nights at the Best Western Greenfield Inn and everything was great. Our room was very nice and clean and the mattress was very comfy too. The shuttle service to the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village was so convenient and the drivers were very friendly and helpful with area information. The food in the restaurant was excellent and big portions too. Overall this was a great experience and I would highly recommend this motel when visiting the area.

« Great Family Value for families visiting Greenfield Village/Henry Ford »

Great choice for families on a budget visiting the Village and Henry Ford. Clean hotel, friendly staff, clean pool/hot tub. The free breakfast is awesome!! This hotel is an excellent value when coupled with Greenfield Village and the Henry Ford/Rouge tours. Hotel also covers your parking at Greenfield Village. High recommendation for this hotel.

« Excellent Location for Henry Ford »

The ladies at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. After checking in we realized the room we had reserved (handicapped with 2 queen beds) was smaller than expected so we requested a suite. The staff quickly obliged and we were moved into the Henry Ford Suite - a huge room with two queen beds, a sofa bed and dining table that accommodated four people. It had the usual coffee maker, refrigerator and microwave. Our only complaint concerned the sofa bed. It was partially broken but usable. Also no sheets, pillow or blanket were provided for it. We used their free shuttle to and from the Henry Ford Museum. it was prompt at each end and we had very nice, friendly drivers both ways. We would definitely stay here again.

    « Great place »

This is nicknamed the Pink Palace. Rightly so. Great place to stay, right off the highway so easy on and off. Minutes from Greenfiled Village, Henry Ford Museum, Detroit Zoo and 20 minutes from Comerica Park. The room was very clean, mini fridge, microwave, keurig coffee maker. We really enjoyed out stay

    « Very impressed »

Tanita checked us in and I was impressed with her friendliness. We needed to add a night and she was super efficient at handling this. The 2nd night there my husband slipped in the Bathroom a cracked the reservoir of the commode. He was unhurt so our concern was more for the damage he had done to the room. Tanita assured us it was OK and ask if Bob needed to be seen by a Dr. We assured her he was fine and she started immediately to work on relocating us to another room and help moving. As it turned out, the maintenance guy replaced the whole commode and we did not have to move. Several times I had questions and each time Tanita. The whole staff was very friendly and helpful but Tanita was exceptionally helpful. The whole hotel was clean and nice except the carpet could have used a cleaning our room was clean and the bed and pillows very comfortable however it did have a stale smell. The service at breakfast was very slow but it was not the fault of the poor waitress who was not only seating people but waiting on them and taking the money at the register. Another lady finally showed up to help and things were better but by then there were more customers and service was still slow. They were doing all they could. Still a pleasant stay and I would stay again. Also they have a pretty little courtyard and a gas grill right out by the covered pool area that was really nice to relax and visit with other guests.

    « Nice hotel...nice price ... mixed experience »

We stayed at this hotel for a couple of days...the front desk people were very gracious..made us feel welcome... Room was spacious and well appointed, and the prices were quite reasonable. They offer free shuttle service to local attractions, which is a big plus. The pool and hot tub were also very nice, until a lady came into the pool carrying a baby with an obviously loaded diaper... Swimtime over so I went into the hot tub which was wonderful. We had dinner at O Henry's in the hotel. Good food but some of the worst service anywhere . Both the hostess and waitress were sullen, took an inordinately long time to do their jobs.. And acted like we were inconveniencing them by being there...45 minutes is just unacceptably long to wait foe dinner. Food was very good when it did come though. So all in all it was a mixed experience

    « Greenfield Inn »

I have used this hotel in the past, and stayed again as we wanted to visit the Greenfield village. Good hotel nice staff. The room and pool area was really good, the girl who checked us in was a star. Only minor negative was dinner in the evening, choice wasn't great and the service was really slow and only three tables had guests eating. I would stay here again the next timme I am in town.

    « Nice room »

We had a very nice stay at this hotel. It was very close to the Henry Ford and a big mall was just across the interstate. As I checked in I was very pleased with the friendly reception I received. We travel with a small puppy and they were very accommodating for her. I loved the pictures of the old cars in the hallway. The hotel is not new bit is well maintained. Did see some carpet in one of the hallways that had a lot of wear. They had a very nice inside pool area. They provided vouchers for discounted tickets to the Henry ford an greenfield village as well as courtesy transportation. Our room was very comfortable and very clean. That is a very important feature for us. We have stayed in 5 stars that weren't as clean. We ate breakfast at the restaurant one morning. It was good and a large portion, just a little over cooked for me. We would stay there again.

    5
    « Very Nice Stay »

Our experience was wonderful. The hotel was a great location for our trip to the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village and the Detroit Tigers game. Our family of 6 comfortably fit in the room with 2 Q beds and a pull out couch. Kids enjoyed the pool area.

« Going to The Henry Ford? Stay here! »

We had a wonderful visit to The Henry Ford - and the Best Western Greenfield Inn was a big part of that! * Everyone at the desk was friendly and extremely helpful! One evening we decided to go to the Detroit River Walk, and the young lady at the desk printed out directions for us. The warm chocolate chip cookies at the front desk were a real treat, too! * We got The Henry Ford package - voucher for admission, shuttle to/from, full breakfast. It was a great value and made everything so easy. On the ride to and from, we met some great people as well! * We plan to return to Detroit to see the rest of The Henry Ford, and will absolutely stay at the Best Western Greenfield Inn again!

« Good hotel in poor location »

Hotel is nice with clean rooms and interesting decor on the walls of the halls. Internal layout can be a little confusing at first. The hotel is not within walking distance of local shops (and guests are warned that walking in the local area is not safe) so market would be for people on driving holidays.

    « Road trip »

On our way home from our road trip and done for the day and pulled up to this beautiful pink large place and got a room. The room is spacious, updated and clean. The shower was hot and took off the days sweat. Decided to go to the restaurant on sight because tired of driving, not many people but the food was good and filled us up to return to our room for a relaxing night before hitting road again.

« Nice place to rest your head »

Stayed here for a weekend and had a nice stay. Rooms were cozy and comfy. Fridge in room and coffee maker. There is a restaurant there that we didn't have a chance to eat in with a bar. Check in was a breeze and the price was right. There is also a swimming pool that is open late.

    « Fabulous stay »

This is a full-service, first-class hotel in every way. Very efficient check in process, beautiful grounds and rooms that are impeccably maintained. Fridge and microwave in the oversized room with good counter space in the bathroom. Indoor large pool and hot tub, both exceptionally clean. Add a full-service restaurant and lounge, this hotel has it all. Conveniently located off the freeway, the only thing keeping this from being absolutely perfect is that the actual neighborhood itself is not conducive to evening walks or morning runs. Other than that, this hotel does not disappoint. We look forward to staying here again.

    « Affordable »

Just came back from a girls road trip. We stayed for 3 nights and purchased the package that included admission to the Henry Ford and Greenfield Village. The room was very comfortable and clean. Staff were friendly and the breakfast that was included for 2 mornings was excellent.

« Everything you need under one roof! »

An older property which is beautifully maintained with a lovely courtyard for relaxing. A gas grill is provided! Great pool which is immaculate. Good food which is reasonably priced and a lively pub. You can open the windows here - another nice surprise. A great staff that just cannot do enough to make your stay pleasant. Charming property!

« Nice average hotel. Affordable price »

Very spacious Family Suite. Very surprised by it. Had a full size dining room. Sofa bed. Nice size Mini Fridge. FYI, the pool is separated . Goes from 3 foot to 8 foot section. Nice for adults. Nice oversized hot tub too. Rooms are little dingy. Needs deep cleaning. Toliet leaked alot. Too bad there was 5 of us and no promotions for us for Henry Ford, only for standard rooms. Need promotions for larger families. we are spending more on our rooms

    5
« Good rooms and good rates »

We spent one night at the Best Western here. We were very pleased with the rooms, the rates and the free breakfast in the morning. Our room was on the first floor and very close to where we parked our car. They were very friendly and accommodating, too. We would definitely stay there again.

    5
« Great place to stay »

This is our second stay at Greenfield Inn while visiting family. We enjoy staying at historical Inns and find the look at this hotel to be similar - fitting since it is so close to Henry Ford museum and Greenfield Village. The beds are comfortable, the staff pleasant and helpful, and the facilities well maintained. Our grandson spent a lot of time in the large indoor swimming pool and the extra large hot tub. We ate at the restaurant several times and it is good. We have no complaints and will be back next time we are in the area.

« This is a big Best Western- PINK and a good place to stay ! »

My husband and I were traveling from the west coast and got a room here- It was nice, clean, and safe. The reviews said they were renovating- halls look great- don't know what they have planned for the rooms?? Breakfast in the restaurant was good - big portions of hash browns and eggs. he price for the room was gret and we would stay here again

« Trip to see the Tigers »

This is the second time we have stayed at the Best Western in Allen Park. This hotel is very clean, staff is friendly, and the pool area is nice. The restaurant is convenient for drinks, but we did not eat there. I also like that there is a refrigerator in the room. The place is definitely dated, but it is extremely clean and comfortable. It would be nice to have a larger safe, but that's really my only complaint. Also an easy drive to Detroit, where we went to see the Tigers play.

    5
    « Great stay »

Clean, hospitable, good food, free shuttle to airport and Henry Ford. Beds comfortable and rooms attractive. We did have a problem with the AC but that was fixed very quickly after we brought it to the attention of the front desk. Also, the food in the restaurant was better than last years. I think they may have changed operators. Nice breakfast choices were available for those who bought the Ford package. Faxes were received and sent for free. What a bonus.

« Great location, needs some TLC »

We stayed here for 2 nights during father's day weekend to visit the Henry Ford Museum. Not knowing where to stay, I went with a recommendation to stay here at the Best Western. It's a great location, just a few short minutes from the Henry Ford. I was a little off put by the pink exterior but kept an open mind. Check in was easy. The counter staff was very helpful. This place is pretty big. We had some hallway twist and turns to navigate to get to our room, but it's not hard to figure out after a bit. The room was clean and met out needs. It had a mini fridge, microwave, coffee pot, hair dryer, flat screen tv. We had 2 queen beds that were very comfortable. The bathroom was clean. The rooms in general are quite a bit dated. I think they are trying to hold on to that classic charm, even the doors have door bells. But I still think they could give a little face lift and still keep the charm. Wi-Fi was included and seemed stable enough for my needs. The are 3 gazebos in the courtyard. There is also a gas grill and an indoor pool. The pool seemed clean, but was cold. It apparently is not heated. There is a sauna. There is a hot tub as well, but it was not working while we were there. A fitness room is also attached. There is a restaurant and bar inside the hotel. We had an included breakfast which gave us 4 choices. All were large portion servings, so we didn't go hungry. Others in our party had dinner there as well and said it was good. In all, it's a great place to stay. It just needs some updating.

« Very nice staff, WAY overdue for renovation. »

I have stayed here several times and had a similar experience every time. The staff, particularly reception and Managers on Duty, have been friendly and attentive. The location is convenient to the Henry Ford & Greenfield Village. The problem with this hotel is that the décor is straight out of the 1980s and appears not to have been renovated since then. I could tell where there had been a lighting fixture previously based on the pattern of fading of the wall paper. Even though it is extremely dated, my rooms have been clean. Also the hallways and rooms seem very dark, partly due to the décor. The food in the restaurant is fine, but not fabulous. I was very disappointed that the only spread for breads was imitation butter, and they had no butter. Pros- refrigerator and microwave in each room. Convenience "store" by reception sells popcorn, yogurt, and other items for snacks and convenience meals. Indoor pool, & small fitness area Computer in reception for guest use with print capability Cons- nothing is safely walkable, so one really needs a car. Dated decor

« Good Stay on a Scorching weekend »

The reason we selected BW was because of the amenities (pool, whirlpool and sauna). However, we never got to try them. It was too hot of a weekend for the sauna and the whirlpool is being overhauled. At that point, just kind of lost nerve to try the pool. Knowing I'm disappointed, am possibly over-compensating with the high rating. But, long and short of it, the beds and linens were good, the room pretty clean, AC/TV worked fine. Rooms were very quiet. Coffee in the lobby fine for most people, but a bit lame for my taste. What strikes me is that it shows the majority of the staff are committed to their work. Almost feels employee owned. Quite a task for a big complex with aging infrastructure. Grounds are nicely kept. My elderly dog traveled with us. She recently tore out her ACL in her back leg. The elevator was thus convenient for the third floor. Most staff were gracious with her which scored big points with us. Wait staff in the restaurant were nice. Had a surprisingly yummy bean burger there. Tip: Had a nice breakfast at the Glass Onion in Allen Park. Our dog napped in the car with the windows open right at the curb while we dined at a table on the sidewalk. Would consider staying here again.

« Great hotel near the Henry Ford and Greenfield »

The staff was helpful and even helped us get tickets to the Henry Ford and Greenfield museum grounds at a significant savings. Our room was clean and we enjoyed the pool. We took time to walk the halls and look at the framed photos and prints of historic cars throughout the hotel.

    5
    « Excellant stay »

We were visiting the Henry Ford Museum and wanted a hotel nearby. When we arrived we discovered that the hotel offered a shuttle to and from the museum daily. We parked our car and didn't have to move it until we left. The service of everyone we encountered was excellent. The food in the restaurant was more than generous, more than we could eat so the next day we split a breakfast and it was more than enough.

    5
« Great location for museums, great staff »

This hotel is right off the expressway, easy access to airport, and just 2 miles to The Henry Ford and Greenfield Village. The staff was especially helpful (thank you, Suzanne!) and made a good stay for the group I was with. Shuttle provided to museums and airport. The hotel is in the process of renovation, new flooring and room decor being worked on now. Should be nice when updated! Main issue is that, while it is convenient to the freeway, that means you can't walk anywhere. Restaurant was OK, and the staff was very nice. I hope they repaint the exterior before long! It's been a while, and the color has always been awful! But thanks for a good stay!

    3
    « just a highway stop »

this was a comfortable overnight stop but is surrounded by industry.you cannot simply go for a walk, there is nothing else in the area at all. you miss the building as it is bright pink,\\restaurant is O,K, bar O,K, large clean roombut take good note of room location as we all got lost in the rambling hallways, this property is old but has had a paint job done recently in a rather sloppy fashion, having said all that ,,,,,if you are looking for a bed and meal you could do worse.

    3
« In need of some refurb »

The building is dated, I wouldn't be surprised if the decor has been the same for the last 20 years. The rooms are average in size with 2 double beds. Our room had a lovely view (hope you detected my sarcasm) of the room 6ft opposite and nothing else. The bathroom was equally as tired as the rest of the hotel. The layout of the hotel is quite odd and you find yourself circling the outside of the building to locate the part of the hotel you are heading for. I will finish with a few positives though - The staff are very friendly and helpful and the drinks in the bar are good value for money (bottle of beer for $3.75 or glass of wine for $5.50). I had an evening meal and breakfast and I found them both to be enjoyable and good value for money.

« Best Western near Henry Ford Museum - Detroit »

This is an excellent hotel and it is very convenient to the Henry Ford Museum. They pick you up at the airport and take you to the museum, also. That means you really don't need a car if the museum is your reason for visiting Detroit. As with most of their hotels they have a good restaurant so it worked out really well for me. Very comfortable and well kept hotel. I would stay here if I come back.

    5

    « One of the best ! »

We generally travel BW and again we were not disappointed by this location. We were visiting The Henry Ford and this hotel's proximity was perfect. We really appreciated the shuttle service to and from the venue. The staff at the hotel were are very knowledgeable and courteous. Rooms were very clean and well appointed. We believe this is one of the best BWs were have ever stayed at.

    « Very Good Experience »

Friendly staff, comfortable bed and room. Excellent food and cocktails in the lounge. Was disappointed that the hot tub was not functioning. Internet in the room was tricky. Overall, for the money, it was an excellent bargain.

    2
« Too much of a bad thing »

Staff misallocated our room, gave no help in changing rooms, posted internal room instructions were inaccurate, the Spa was broken for the three nights we were there. The parking lot was being repaved requiring moving the car twice. Rooms were being remodeled and floors being relaid led to doing a dance down corridors trying to keep out of the way. The staff just took it in their stride. On a good note the bar and restaurant had good, capable staff who were over worked.

    4
« Grest location and great staff »

Our trip would have been amazing but for some reno nightmares. You should ask them about reno before you book. There reno projects was not planned well around guest comfort and safety. The awesome staff seemed to have been empowered with authority to resolve issues with those doing the reno. Location is perfect for seeing the Henry Ford Museum and Deerfield Village.

    « Pink Palace »

I picked this place because they had a deal with a conference I was attending. It was fine for my stay, but all I did was sleep there and get to my meetings. I was surprised how quiet it was since it is right alongside I-94. I had a front side room and only heard one or two trucks go by.

    5
« Stll love this place - but pub renovation big mistake! »

I've been staying at this hotel for years and it has never disappointed me - until now. The cozy, clubby pub has been transformed into a cold, bland space with glaring lights and no atmosphere. They did add a jazz pianist, which was great, and still have Mary the World's Best Bartender and I appreciated the menu redo but what's with horrible lighting? Everything was else great - clean, comfortable room, friendly staff and a lovely courtyard. The food was great and the pool is wonderful. Please - soften the lights in the pub and bring back the cozy!

We always come to the Best Western in Allen Park when visiting family and friends in the area. We love the atmosphere, convenience and location. Greenfield Village and Museum are close. « Impressed yet again »

My grandson who is four has claimed this hotel as his favorite in the whole world. My husband, grandson and I stayed there again on June 3, 2016. Just when you think they can't treat you any better something wonderful happens. On our way to our room (around 8:00 p.m.) after an evening of swimming we were passing the laundry room. The gentleman working in there at the time came out to say hello. After acknowledging us he told my grandson to wait one minute. He returned with a towel straight from the dryer. That action in itself was kind but he didn't stop there. He then proceeded to get down to my grandsons level and wrap the towel around him. He followed that by asking the little guy how that was. The entire time he had this heart warming smile. That simple act of kindness will never be forgotten and it reinforced to my grandson why that is favorite hotel in the whole world. I wish I had gotten that mans name so I could let the Beat Western chain know how he touches people's hearts.

« Diamond in the rough for now, but a great stay »

A great place in spite of the currently ongoing renovations! Booked because it was very convenient to Henry Ford/Greenfield plus easy access for other sights & places and a great price. Found a charming Pink Palace. First impression, nice lobby & very friendly staff. Room very good, very clean & a very good with comfortable bed (Goldielocks style, not too hard, not too soft just right for a few nights.) In spite of the renovations....mainly to the pool & some hallways, that was not a problem personally. Quiet at night. Great staff, all very friendly & helpful! Personal plus, nice to have a reasonable restaurant on site! Nice to not fuss with a crowd for "free" breakfast buffet and just have a nice breakfast. For dinner, the restaurant average but decent food, good service. I am sincere in giving the place a VG rating based on my experience. It's an inviting, well run hotel and in spite of some dust & bother at present, good rooms, great staff.

Hotel was nice even though they were going through renovations. Well located. Food in restaurant was excellent ate there every night. Rooms were pretty sound proof. They served cookies in the afternoon and coffee and had happy hour between 5-7.

« Clean and comfortable, but poor security »

I noticed that both doors to the C Entrance do not lock. This makes me feel unsafe. While I did not check the other entrances, somebody needs to. Repairs (at least to C entrance doors) need urgent repair for guest safety.

    « Greenfield Inn »

We stayed two nights at the Greenfield Inn while visiting The Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village. Hotel is only 2 easy miles from attractions. Hotel was originally built around 1960 and is currently undergoing some renovations. The hotel is situated on a low hill between a railroad track and a freeway. Recommend a room facing the courtyard in rear of hotel for most quiet. Restaurant is good with reasonable prices and good selection. Great place to stay if visiting the Henry Ford.

« Some updating is needed. »

The lobby area seems very close and cramped. The room decor is old and dated. The rooms on the third floor allow for very little natural light because of the window size so the room was dark. The young lady who checked me in was not very friendly. The wifi stopped working in the morning.

we stayed here mid april and found it very nice the rooms are clean and comfortable and the reception staff are very friendly and helpful as there is no restaurants in walking distants we ate in the hotel restaurant although the meal and drinks were a little bit pricey the meal was good and tasty and a good size we didn't mind using the restaurant as we had a full days visit to the henry ford museum and village so we didn't go far in the evening Hotel is situated in a good local with regard to the attractions just a few minutes drive from the museum and easy to get to All in all the Pink Palace (greenfield hotel) was a very pleasant stay

    « Don't be in a hurry for dinner »

We were part of a tour group of 49, the hotel was aware of our pending arrival as we stayed there the night. There is nowhere closeby to eat so naturally we all headed to the restaurant for dinner. That's where the fun began. It was a struggle to get a waitress, we waited and waited for service, grabbed a drink from the bar and waited. The next drinks order was interesting, we ordered a Chardonnay, they had run out so served 'something' else instead, didn't mention it or ask, just exchanged for another white wine. Not good enough to assume. The poor lady who eventually took our orders was very stressed and the place was clearly understaffed. Meals took forever and when they arrived they were 'sort of' what was described on the menu. Tasty enough but probably wouldn't have waited if given the option of eating elsewhere. Breakfast was a different story, order was taken quickly and the food was as advertised. Brandy our breakfast waitress is a real asset to this place, she was also running the bar and waiting tables the previous night. What a trooper. The hotel is undergoing a huge renovation, it is comfortable enough and has a laundry which is a real bonus. I would only stay here again if there was no other option closeby. Restaurant management needs an overhaul as well.

    « Great Stay! »

Lovely, quaint hotel with a Victorian décor and pictures of antique cars everywhere. Food in O'Henry's Restaurant is very good, albeit a little pricey. (I wish they offered a free continental breakfast, though.) The hotel was undergoing quite a bit of construction so lots of dust in stairwell but that's unavoidable. Pool was great, swim spa was the perfect temperature. Free coffee and fresh baked cookies at the front desk every day. Room was very clean, quiet and comfortable bed. The hotel is very close to all amenities. I would stay there again in a heart beat.

« Our shinning night at the Inn »

We had booked a room at Country Inns and Suites, but when we arrived we found our credit card was denied on the online booking. entered wrong expiry date! Alia feeling bad as they were sold out and it was late. She contacted Tanita and she honored our rate. We arrived to a "Pink Palace". wondering what where we in for. Entering the front lobby it had the charm of a old country Inn. We ate in the dining room, food was good. There was live music with a piano player. Great sleep, room had been renovated still had the charm of an old inn. Next morning we had a great breakfast in their dinning room. Thank you Tanita..we will be back

« Don't use your precious Gold Crown Club points for this hotel!! »

I feel completely ripped off. I used 16,000 loyalty points for my one night stay. Instead of a gem environment that I was expecting with so many points expended, the hotel was in complete disarray with renovations - hallways blocked with plastic dust barriers, carpets torn up etc etc. Our room was also a "beater". My wife wouldn't allow me to open our luggage on the sit-down couch as it was so dirty. I'm not upset about the renovations - good for them for improving the property. I'm upset that I wasn't told about this situation when I made the booking. 16,000 points for one night!!! You've got to be kidding. I'm betting that my invitation to have someone from corporate address my complaint will be ignored. The only recourse I have is to NEVER use a Best Western again.

Unfortunately for the price that I have paid for this hotel I expected much better service IE: continental breakfast and that did not happen. In addition the restaurant in the hotel's food was also very poor. Again very poor experience with the food and service over all.

« Nice place food not so good »

I recently stayed there for 2 nights. The staff and rooms are nice. The food wasn't the best for sure. I found that all the meat products I ordered were over cooked and very dry.I also tried some wine with dinner and it was old.

    « Stay from hell »

From the time we walked in the door things went wrong. Reservation request was not accurate, room temperature not adjustable, service after requesting assistance - horrible, and the free restaurant breakfast (full meal type) was cold. We spent one night instead of two and will never be back,.

    « Lipstick on a pig »

It's an older building, and you can tell a lot of updates have been made: decor, bathrooms, indoor pool. But small things add up: tape on the hallway carpet, cracked plaster, broken soda machines, fans that clack so loud they could keep you awake at night, outdoor furniture caked in bird poop. The hotel has a restaurant which was perfectly lovely, good food options and fine service. Ask for an upper floor. I thought a first-floor inner-courtyard room would be fine, but found that many people felt the need to smoke just outside our window. We went to the Henry Ford Museum, and chose this hotel based on its location. Proximity to the museum and Target made it a good location.

The Best Western Greenfield Inn is one sweet place to stay. The staff was very courteous and accommodating. The hotel shuttle service is a great benefit. If we travel back to Detroit we will definitely stay here again.

    « Unexpected »

Little did I know that I would have to walk through many, many creepy hallways to get to my room that was nearly the farthest from the lobby. It would have been nice to know that I should drive around back. There is also a security gate on the back parking lot... so in the morning you may have to drive around to the front in order to get out of the lot. There were two construction dumpsters in the parking lot, hopefully that means that renovations are on the way. I got in my musty room and soon realized that there were no working controls for AC. Overall it was a an unexpectedly, uncomfortable, weird place to stay that needs some work to bring it into 2016.

    « An enjoyable night's stay »

My wife and I were on our way home from a trip through Tennessee. We were planning on going to Greenfield Village the next day. We stopped at a gas station and asked about a close hotel. They said Best Western Greenfield Inn was a good hotel nearby. They were correct. The hotel was very recently updated with a warm bed and breakfast feeling. If you like beautiful woodwork, this is the place, The staff is very friendly and helpful. The dinning room was very comfortable and the food was very good and filling! The location is just off Interstate I 94, but we did not hear the traffic noise. The rates were quite reasonable. We would definitely stay again.

    « Very good - »

We weren't sure about this place at first. It looked a little old from the outside & the 'Pink Palace' theme wasn't impressing us. But we were in town for a half marathon & expected to have some hardship along the way. When we got inside we were surprised. We ended up going up and down the hallways looking at the pictures. The pool was great. Service & food in the restaurant were good. The room was nice. The beds were soft so I ended up sleeping on my camping mattress which I bring with me everywhere, but they would've been Ok for most people. There was some renovations being done on the 2nd floor so the hallways smelled of paint, but the rooms did not. In short, this exceeded our expectations.

    « Definitely a Pink Palace! »

We stayed here for a total of 4 nights: the first 3 were consecutive (Monday to Wed) then we left to travel and returned for the Friday. We were assigned a room on the 3rd floor. There is an elevator but you can't use it much during the day because the cleaning crew seems to tie it up. We walked up after waiting and saw it on the third floor forced open and no one using it. The restaurant is called O'Henry's and the service and food is adequate. The pool seems to be nice but we didn't see anyone using it. On our last night there we asked for a room on the main floor so we wouldn't have to battle the elevator. We realized once we went to bed that the hotel accepts pets because we heard a dog barking down the hall. Then the room across the hall had young people coming and going out of their room, knocking on their door and even on ours once. We looked out the peephole and saw 6 people standing outside the room. At that point we figured we wouldn't get much sleep. Then the police came and told all of them to leave. Someone called the cops and all was quiet. Overall this hotel is very clean and the beds are very comfortable. They do have a Keurig, microwave and a fridge in the rooms and it is close to the airport and easy access to the Ford Museum, shopping and interstate.

    « Great stay »

We were a little nervous by the outside appearance, but the inside was clean and the staff was friendly. Our room had 2 comfortable queen beds and the room had a logical set up so that two people could put make up on at the same time. I personally liked the decor. (It was not bland!) You will hear kids and families moving about, so this is not a place for a quiet retreat. Overall, it was a great stay.

    « FALSE SMOKING CHARGE »

My family and I just recently stayed two nights at this Hotel. It was great. Until I was charged a $200 fee for smoking in the room. The proof they have is a picture of an empty cigarette pack in the TRASH. Now, I myself am a non smoker, the other 3 smoke. Every time they would go outside to the car or outside the door to smoke, due to the hotel being non-smoking, of course. We have tried to call the hotel and be respectful and forceful to remove this charge, because there was NO SMOKING not one person smoked in the room, only threw away empty packs! There is proof on cameras that my family members were outside late at night, during the rain and before entering the hotel to smoke. Not to mention I, me.. the NON SMOKER would NOT allow them to smoke in the room. Let a lone be charged a fee! I am now in the process of fighting this charge to get my money back. I have also reached out to a lawyer who helping me this. Beyond frustrated and upset.

« Old style "Pink Palace" »

The Pink Palace in Allen Park (next to Dearborn) takes you back to another era. The décor is old, pictures in the halls are of cars from all eras and are spaced close together so tat there are few blank walls. The parking lot is in need of repair, the hallways dark, and the wooden door frames marked. My room was cool and heat was not an option. Apparently the heat dopes not come on if the temp is > 45 degrees. I was afforded an in room heater, otherwise would have been cold. The room furniture was well worn with chips and scratches although there was a fridge and microwave available. Unlike other Best Western's there is no complimentary breakfast but there is a restaurant. There is quick access to the interstate and a large mall about 1/2 mile away.. Room is clean. I stayed here because it was close to my business and price-wise was okay.

« The best hotel in the Detroit area »

The staff was very good and room service was great. Very clean place. The only bad part was the pool, it was cold. I had my grandsons we stay there every year and this year the pool was cold . Over all the stay was nice and 5the food was excellent.

« Family and Friends Fun Getaway »

The staff is courteous and Friendly and the rooms have many amenities that similar chain hotels do not have anymore. The pool and Hot tub are FANTASTIC! Food is delicious! Burgers are HUGE and the breakfast is enough to feed a king at a fair price. We came with a group of at least 16 brought our kids and had a blast on the Weekend of the Monster trucks. Will be back next year!

    « Recurring Stays »

I have stayed at this facility over several years when in the area. It has consistently met my expectations for cleanliness and comfort at a moderate price. While I oftentimes don't use accompanying services, the indoor pool is a plus. While there is not any free breakfast offering, the restaurant provides breakfast at a moderate price. Local paper & in-room frig are other amenities I personally like. Location is convenient for those having business on the west side of Detroit or its suburbs. Downtown destinations also fairly close with interstate just a stone's throw away.

« Odd place with bad bedding »

I stayed at this hotel because it was fairly close to my client, but will not be returning. The outside of the hotel is a bit odd, as it is called the pink palace in the area, and the inside decor is very old fashioned. We are talking 1940s old fashioned. That was not a big deal, what caused me to give this place such a poor rating was the pillows, blankets and bed in my room. To be blunt, they were among the worst I have ever experienced. The pillow were small and hard, the blankets were thin, and the bed itself uncomfortable. The wifi was excellent the room decent sized, and customer service was very good but unless they change the bedding situation I will not return.

We spent 4 nights inside this Hotel. Rooms are clean and tidy, the swimming pool and the SPA were absolutely good. The Hotel is very close to the highway, pretty much to a lot Ford Buildings. « A very interesting old place quirky but cool »

A convenient location for anyone visiting The Henry Ford and Greenfield Village. We were very pleased with our room, above average size with a couch and desk. About the only thing to comment on regarding the condition of the property was that the carpeting in places looks a bit old and worn. There was a lot of repairs and construction going on outside. The pub was closed for repairs. In discussing the remodeling with one of the staff they said the carpeting was on the list of things getting replaced. We stayed here three nights, ate breakfast every morning in the full service dining area. We had the same waitress each morning, she was very friendly. Seeing people walk down to the lobby looking for the free breakfast bar, only to walk out when they realized there was no free breakfast, actually made me appreciate breakfast and our service even more. We ate dinner there one night as well, and were pleased with the meal. The property was a bit rough around the edges, but definitely not your typical Best Western. The property is like a museum, the walls are lined with photos of automotive history. Of all the places we stopped on our recent road trip, this is one place we hope to visit again some day.

    « Christmas Trip »

We were looking for a place close to relatives in Allen Park and the Best Western Greenfield Inn was close and convenient. The hotel has been around for years but is well cared for. Our room was a bit awkward with only 1 chair that needs replacing. We were in a non-smoking room for multiple days and nights and several times we could smell cigarette smoke in the hallways which wafted into our room. Smoking rooms should be on a separate floor to eliminate this problem. We were comfortable and used the Keurig, microwave and mini-refrigerator which were great amenities.

    « Great hotel! »

This was a last minute booking due to inclement weather in the area. What a great choice! The staff was efficient and friendly. The room, albeit a teensy bit dated, was still nice. It was spacious and very clean. The bathroom is large and also spotless. The location is excellent. It is located near by 2 major freeways as well as city streets. I would stay again!

    3
    « Adequate »

Our stay started on a bad foot. After two phone calls and an hour wait for the shuttle at the airport, we gave up and got a cab ($30, FYI). The lady at the front desk was kind, but didn't even offer an apology. Then, after settling in the room, we found there was no hot water. She did apologize for that and put us in another room. After that, things were fine. Shuttle rides to The Henry Ford and the airport were timely. If you can ignore the gaudy exterior and the somewhat-dated interior, you'll find this hotel to have all the stuff you need -- flat screens, charging stations, Keurig coffee makers, etc. If you want a ride from the airport, tho, call as soon as your plane has landed.

« Great for dog owners »

We were traveling with our two dogs, and we were pleased with the Hotel. The rate was good and the pet surcharge was very reasonable. It's big, funky, and pink on the outside. It's a little old, and the carpet is faded and there were a few dings on the walls, but the staff was super friendly to all of us, dogs included. Our elderly canine started behaving like Eloise at the PLaza! The locations is perfect--so close to the highway! This will be our go-to hotel when we are traveling with dogs and are in Detroit.

« Great hotel and staff that go above and beyond! »

We stayed at the Greenfield Inn recently for a hockey tournament, we had a great visit! The hotel is older, but the important things are new and updated. The hotel has a lot of character with ornate wood work. My boys loved the long halls filled with pictures of cars on the wall. We had adjoining rooms with family and it worked out great. The beds were very comfortable with lots of pillows, the rooms and all facilities were clean. The most important part of all is the service the staff provided after we left. Our son left a blanket in the room which had great sentimental value. We weren't sure we would get it back, but gave the staff a description and waited. The staff was able to find it while washing the linens the next day. We were already very happy with our stay, but after their extra effort helping us we can't thank them enough!

    « Tired Property »

We last stayed at this hotel 19 years ago. It doesn't appear that the rooms have been vacuumed since then. How sad, because this used to be a nice place to stay while enjoying area attractions. Now, my wife refused to walk barefoot in our room because the carpet was so dirty. The shower didn't drain at all, and other than the nice tv in the room, it doesn't appear that the hotel has been updated for a long time. When Priceline first assigned us to the BWGI, I was excited. My enthusiasm was misplaced.

A renovated Pink Victorian! Good safe location with access to freeway. Visited Motown and the Detroit Institute of Arts museum. Great experience! The Pink Palace rocks! There are pictures of classic automobiles along all the walls in the hotel; the restaurant and bar is worth a visit.

    « Average Stay »

The rooms were nice, the coffee maker did not work. The bed was comfortable. We have stayed here before. On the last visit, we were going to use the hot tub, but it was very, very hot and I could not even attempt to get in. I feel for no free breakfast the price is a bit high.

    3
    « Dated and disappointing »

This "full service" hotel is badly in need of an update. The bed was terribly uncomfortable and the overall decor was dark and drab. A glass door to the exterior of the property was cracked and simply had a caution tape with "do not use" on it. The rubber balls in the claw machine were so dirty and disgusting that I couldn't believe my eyes. Location was very convenient to the Henry Ford, but I'll choose another hotel on my next stay.

    5
    « Wonderful Surprise »

Staying in town to visit family, it was wonderful to find a quiet hotel to rest up and a wonderful pool and fitness room to relax in the evening. The staff was friendly and helpful instead of serious and formal. I regret not having time to try the restaurant but we will next time

    « Rooms »

You can hear everything in the room next door. Couldnt sleep due to snoring in the room next to mine. Also water pressure is so weak that it is almost impossible to take a shower. « A change from your everyday chain hotel »

Went to the Greenfield Inn with a hockey tournament this weekend.. Was delighted by the décor and decorations, the furniture in the nooks and crannies that you could sit quietly in. The pool area was clean and had lots of places to sit. The restaurant was good - nothing fancy or expensive - which is nice when you just want to stay in the hotel for the evening without spending a fortune. Front desk was helpful - free cookies if you timed it right. Rooms were clean and beds were very comfortable. It was easy to get lost because it is a bit of a maze, but that just gives you longer to look at the hundreds of pictures on the walls of old cars. Enjoyed going somewhere that had character rather than your typical chain hotel where you could be anywhere.

    2
    « Very disappointing »

The room was clean, the bed comfortable. However, it was uncomfortable because the air conditioning was not functioning. An open window introduced expressway noise. Breakfast and other meals were available from the menu at an on-site restaurant which served acceptable fare. We were required to wait two hours for a return shuttle from Greenfield Village. Calls of inquiry during our long wait brought only inconsistent excuses.

« Perfectly located If visiting the Ford Museum »

The Pink Palace, as it is known as, is 10 minutes from the Ford Museum. The room was clean and bed comfortable. The restaurant breakfast enables a satisfying start to the day. We ordered a la carte. The hotel offers a shuttle bus to the Ford, but you need to register at the front desk. You call for pick up. Purchasing entry tickets at the hotel works out to be slightly cheaper and includes the parking fee if you decide to drive. The Staff are friendly and helpful. Good value.

« Great Package Deal at a Great Hotel »

I recommend the package deal that includes two nights in the hotel, breakfast and tickets to your choice of the three places to visit at the Henry Ford Museum (the museum, Greenfield Village or the factory tour) along with a free shuttle trip to the museum/village entrances. This is an old hotel that has been refurbished with modern amenities. It has lots of character and quirks and everyone at the hotel was wonderful. The internet is super-fast, the shuttle service to the museums was great and we left feeling like we had been treated well. The restaurant is a little pricey but the portions are large enough that we were able to save leftovers in the room refrigerator and order a little less the second night (if you go to the museums you will probably be too tired to go out of the hotel and eat).

    4
    « Older but nice »

The lobby decor was beautiful and the room had a nice comfortable bed and attractive furniture. The bathroom was a bit small for 2 of us to get ready in but functioned just fine. The facility appears to be an older building and the pink exterior wasn't to my taste. Overall I would recommend the hotel.

    4
    « The Pink Palace »

Large and comfortable rooms. Ideal for a stopover as close to the freeway. Difficult to find your way around the maze of corridors, all with motorcar pictures on display! The bar was being redone while we were there so the dining area had to double up which wasn't entirely satisfactory.

    4
    « Good service »

The pink palace is a great hotel. The staff was excellent and very helpful. My husband and I have stayed here many times and always come back because they are clean, helpful, and close to the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village. I wish that that had a free breakfast option.

« This pink monstrosity is actually pretty comfortable. »

As tacky as the outside of this place may be, the hotel is pretty comfortable. I arrived into the Detroit area rather early so gave the hotel a call requesting an early check in (when I say early I mean like.. 8 or 9 am). The person on the phone told me to come down and more than likely they could fit me in. I arrived and the room wasn't immediately ready. No biggie, I killed a 1/2 hr in their restaurant. My room was ready by the time I was finished, pretty painless tbh. Early check in alone gives them 4 stars in my book but as stated above, the place isn't bad (once you get over the tacky pink exterior)

    3
    « Pink Palace »

It doesn't look like a Best Western. It's an older facility and the decor was more Victorian with a auto club theme in the halls. The room was a little small for all the furniture they had. The bed and pillows were comfortable and it was clean. It seemed like a safe area, The pool was older and not as clean as it should be. They had video games for kids. No complimentary breakfast; hotel restaurant served good food,

    3
« A maze of passageways to find your room »

The rooms were comfortable with a fridge and nice amenities. If you turned the wrong way you could get lost as there were a lot of different wings to the place. Signs for the laundry were misleading and in the end we gave up. There are no shops nearby that are accessible by foot. By car there is a large shopping area with plenty of eating places. There is an ATM.

    2
    « Handicapped UNFriendly »

The most handicapped UNaccessible beds ever. This hotel says it has bigger beds. They meant HIGHER beds. I am of averaged height and could only lean on the edge of the mattress to get into bed. The front desk dismissed the problem with, "Sorry I can't do anything. All the beds are the same." And "No step stools because of liability issues." Yet the hotel van used a step stool. We booked a suite which was very roomy with a vibrating chair and less than full size couch Interesting Victorian decor. The restaurant had great service and large portions for the price. Other than the front desk, the staff all were friendly and helpful. A good place at at a moderate price but only if you are in good physical shape.

    « A great value »

For the rate I paid, this was a great property. Clean, but a bit dated - but not a negative. Comfortable. I love the automotive theme throughout. The staff at the front desk was very nice and willing to do whatever they needed to make you happy. Again, this is not a five star resort, but for what I paid, it was perfect.

This hotel is located near the freeway for ease of access to most Detroit-area locations of interest. Since this was a stay-over to visit both relatives and Allen Park, per se, it worked well. Our goal was to achieve a jet-lag experience that would best suite an excellent performance in Frankenmuth at a duathlon. The insulation between rooms and down hallways served were effective.

« Good stay, hard to find your way around »

This is a lovely little hotel, good for a few nights, very clean! Nice staff members. VERY HARD TO FIND YOUR WAY AROUND! It's just part of how the hotel was designed, you sort of just walk around for awhile trying to find the lobby or restraint haha. The restraint; O'Henrys - is really good and the food is a good price, considering there is nothing around the hotel for you to buy food wose

« It was a comedy of errors that wasn't funny »

Having stayed at the Best Western Greenfield Inn (The Pink Palace) twice previously, my wife of 51+ years and I looked forward to commemorating my 73rd birthday there, enjoying the Henry Ford and my preaching in Detroit on Sunday. From our most recent previous stay August 12-14 in 2007, I knew to ask for room 359 (The Henry Ford Suite) and was told by Tanita (when I made the reservations a month in advance) that would be no problem. Upon arriving September 25, 2015 Tanita informed me that she could not give me room 359 (The Henry Ford Suite) as she had promised, but that the room she had for me was just a nice, room 275. When we got to room 275 our keys opened the door but the room was occupied and would be for two more days. The occupants of that room were very concerned that Tanita gave us keys that opened their room rendering them and their property insecure. That other couple and I explained the problem we were having to Jessica at the desk, and she said that I should have been given room 375, not 275. As Jessica was making the correction Tanita came out from the back room and wanted to know what the problem was. When we explained what had happened to Tanita she said the mistake was hers. In the course of the conversation I had with Jessica, I informed her that I had reserved room 359 (The Henry Ford Suite) but Jessica said that I could not reserve a specific room. The management of The Pink Palace Best Western at Greenfield Inn should take immediate action to prevent anyone from ever for being issued keys to someone else's room as Tanita did. Tanita seems very nice but there is no excuse for what she did and giving me keys to an occupied room is unforgivable. She should be dismissed. We have been told that The Pink Palace Best Western Greenfield Inn is under new ownership and perhaps that explains why the facility is running downhill. Clearly the employees dealing with the public are either incompetent or liars or both. Also: Our bathroom door stuck so badly we were not able to close it. The television (believe it or not) is analog. The raucous partying in the Gazebo area kept us awake past midnight the first night, past 3 a.m. the second night, and management did nothing to quell the disturbance. The parking lot is a mess with scores of parking places unavailable, the pink paint looks tired and the roof looks even worse. Restrooms are shut down: The Pink Palace is becoming the Pink Dump. The employees at the restaurant seemed very nice, most especially Susan, and our breakfast was quite good. We had invited two people to visit with us for Bible study and room 359 (The Henry Ford Suite) would have been great but we'd been lied to by Tanita about that room's availability and lied to by Jessica about 375 being the same, so we were forced to spend almost three hours in your restaurant for our Bible study. It is apparent that The Pink Palace Best Western Greenfield Inn is nowhere near as nice as it used to be and is running downhill fast.
