Best Western Plus Hotel Sparta Trail Lodge, Sparta

Room smelled badly, asked for room to be cleaned properly but it did not happen. Cleaning staff was told by manager to spray comet and wipe with a rag on bathroom floor! No mopping! Was given a can of air freshener that didn't work. When I gave it back to the manager she said well it worked when we put it in your room! Did not give me a working one. Was so happy to leave this hotel and do not recommend staying here.

We stayed 2 nights while riding the Elroy/ Sparta bike trail. The hotel was clean, quiet and seemed safe. The room was spacious, fresh and clean, bed comfy. The pillows were on the smaller side, but they worked fine. I requested a room on the first floor so we were able to easily wheel out bikes into the room for safekeeping. They also offered the use of their meeting room to lock our bikes in, that was nice if you have bikes and don't want them exposed overnight. The pool area is geared more towards kids so we didn't use it at all. Too many kids running around, but I guess if you have kids this would work out just fine for you. The on-site restaurant isn't open Sundays, and the Monday night we wanted to eat dinner, they were closed because the chef didn't show up to work. Lastly, the hotel is just a bit out of town, but right off the highway. It's just a couple miles from the Elroy/Sparta bike trailhead in Sparta. I'd definitely consider this Best Western again when in the area.

The staff was hustling on a holiday weekend with a skeleton crew and did a great job keeping everyone happy. My kids loved the pool and the water slides. They have a great area for younger kids and a bigger water slide for the older kids.

Handicapped accessible room 234 worked well for my needs. I do suggest lowering the height of the bed in accessible rooms. It is very challenging for those of us with limited mobility to get in the bed.

Best Western Sparta Trail is a great hotel. It has a friendly staff and great breakfast. The hotel is newer and more modern than others in the area. Parking is plentiful. They offer hot and fresh breakfast. That's something the other Best Western doesn't offer in the area.

We picked this hotel for a friends meet up. 16 adults and 5 kids. Ages 7 years to 4 months. We all loved the pool area. The bigger kids enjoyed the waterslide. The little kids enjoyed the alligator slide. And the adults enjoyed the hot tub. The pool area was not excessively noisy due to the running water of the slide so we were able to enjoy our music while in the pool area easily.

The staff is very friendly and kind! Room was nice. The food at their restaurant is TERRIBLE. Might sound dramatic but it was the worst food I've ever eaten. The kiddie pool and pool area are great! But it was not very clean and the bathrooms were disgusting.

We stayed here while biking in the area. The hotel was clean with decent amenities. All in all, it was nothing special, but an ok place to stay. Beds were comfortable. The breakfast was terrible even in times of covid.

I was VERY impressed with how clean our room was. Modern look (up to date), amenities offered were easily accessible. Great variety of amenities. Great service at bar/restaurant! We did not use the pool, as we didn't have our children with, but they would have loved it-water slide, good size!

The place is well kept, a good assortment of amenities. Decent variety of rooms to fulfill the needs for your stay. My suite was great. Spacious and well furnished. The pool area included a sauna, which I appreciate. Plenty of parking. Breakfasts are a good rendition of the continental breakfast ubiquitous in American hotels. The bar/restaurant is pretty decent as well.

My stay was excellent! Clean rooms, comfortable bed, and a wonderful lobby area. Our group could play cards at night in that area. We had loads of fun! The complimentary breakfast is a nice plus to have!

Let's be fair, when you see Best Western you don't automatically think “nice hotel.” This hotel is exactly the opposite; it's nice, cozy, comfy, well situated—right off interstate 90, and quiet. The staff is kind caring and attentive. Very nice place to stay

Manager Lal and his team provided us with a great hotel with terrific amenities and superior service. Everything was neat & clean at all times, food was terrific which is a great plus for a bar/pub inside a hotel. Pool area was wonderful and a real plus with a great hot tub.

New hotel that is clean and friendly. Pool water was super clear which you can't always find at hotels. Breakfast was switched up daily and was adequate for my needs. Laundry space was clean as I like to do my laundry before I leave and head home.

This Best western was comfortable, clean, and relaxing. The little town of Sparta is charming and it was enjoyable to visit their statue Ben Bikin and bike trail area in town. We got food from the hotel pub/grill. It was about the price of an Applebees, and everything was delicious.

Updated and nice property with a helpful friendly staff. Full breakfast options. Nice size pool. Never really stayed at a Best Western before this but I am sold if others are like this one. All though I wasn't there for biking it is close to the Sparta biking areas.

During the pandemic, even BW Plus hotels we stayed at had to severely cut back on service. The BW Plus in Sparta is back in fine form. The building looks clean and welcoming. The room we had was comfortable...really nice pillows...and the breakfast was back to what we expected from BW before the pandemic. Staff members were most helpful and overall, our stay was nice enough that if we happen past Sparta, Wisconsin again, we'll be staying at the Best Western Plus Sparta Trail Lodge.

Based on the rate for this hotel, I was shocked at how dingy the room was. I didn't even want to walk on the carpet in bare feet. When we took a shower the next morning, there was what looked like dried blood on the inside of the shower curtain. I alerted the front desk and got an “I'm sorry to hear that.” This place is filthy and they clearly aren't putting any money back into updating the rooms. There are other places in town-I would recommend exploring those options.

Staff very friendly, rooms very clean, and the Pool was amazing! Perfect water temp and nice and clean! My daughter had a blast with the slides. The bar and grill is very classy and the pizza was very good!

This Best Western has been upgraded and it is so nice and fresh. They offer a nice breakfast buffet and the lounge/bar has great food! The pool area is roomy and they have a nice kids swimming area, slide in the main pool and a whirlpool Overall a very nice hotel.

We always stay at this hotel when we are on our Girls Trip to visit the Amish Farms in Cashton, WI. Rooms are clean and have been remodeled, breakfast buffet is awesome, hotel staff very friendly and helpful, and price is reasonable. Only wish the on-site bar/restaurant was open more and more reasonably priced.

This was our first stay with you and it was wonderful. We had a great time. Staff was very friendly and motel was very nice and clean inside and out. Definitely makes us want to choose best Western in our future travels. Thank you for making our stay enjoyable.

If you're traveling for business or leisure, the Best Western in Sparta is the place to stay. Located just east of Sparta on Highway 16, it's an easy on and off from the interstate and only minutes away from all the amenities that Sparta has to offer. Hotel is staffed with a wonderful caring people who truly want to make your stay comfortable. Enjoy!

The pool area is clean. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Everything except the sauna right now is in good order. The lobby, rooms and hallways are clean. Has plenty of amenities such as pool, fitnesses room, hot tub

Had trouble with Linda at the front desk the night before check in. Table and toilet in room were wobbly to a scary degree, wifi wasnt working for the last 2 days, prices were invalid and then somewhat fixed. Breakfast lady was fighing with another guest during breakfast and bring other guest into it. Wont be back

Love this hotel! Reservation, check-in/out was smooth and professional. Easy access off 90 and a nice short drive into Sparta. Nice, Clean building and grounds. We had a two-queen room which was clean and well appointed with comfortable beds. It was So Good to have breakfast buffet!! We only had to wear our face-mask and then gloves while dishing up. The food was all good and selections maintained. We used one night rewards member free night and paid for the other night with the cost of our room being very affordable. Now, about the pool area! The entire pool area was clean and warm with a fantastic tropical mural painted on the walls. Loved the slide! There is a nice pool, a kids pool, hot-tub and sauna.

This hotel is very clean, practices great sanitizing procedures, is updated, and just looks nice in general. They had high quality bathroom essentials, a nice hot tub, great pool, children's pool, and sauna. Breakfast bar is clean. Easy access next to a gas station.

Had another nice time. 2nd stay there. There is a nice Wisconsin supper club, Club Oasis within 10 minutes of there and a family restaurant about 10 minutes west. The hotel is very clean and the staff is friendly. Will definitely be back if going that way again

The room was super clean and inviting. Front desk people were very friendly and helpful. If you reported an issue to maintenance it was resolved within minutes. We had a hair dryer that didn't work and called front desk and the issue was immediately resolved. These things occur and they took care of it with extreme efficiency. I would Highly recommend this location!

There was a mix of both pros and cons during my stay at this Best Western. Cons: Bed was hard as a rock. (Most important thing I consider) No free weights in the gym. No water bottles in the room. Pros: Large rooms Great breakfast Sauna

Stayed the weekend to ride the trail —-very convenient to the trail and cute downtown Sparta - hotel staff breakfast all excellent only little complaint we had was the 2 garbage cans in room too small - brought our own food and drink just think it would have been nice to have a recycling can but it didn't take away from how pleased we were with everything

We stayed at this location for two nights. We met two other families that also stayed at this hotel because we planned a mini family vacation for all of us. We had 4 kids and 6 adults between three rooms and we all had a great experience. The rooms were clean and nicely laid out. The hotel grouped all of our rooms together right by the pool which was very convenient. We used the pool which was a step up from most hotel pools. It offers a large main pool with a slide and a smaller toddler pool with its own slide. There's also a large whirlpool and a sauna. The kids loved the pool area and we parents had plenty of room to sit and socialize while the kids played. Breakfast was also very good. We ate at the hotel restaurant twice which was also good. Overall, we all had a great stay. But what really made it nice was their incredible staff! Everyone who worked there was incredibly friendly and eager to make our stay nice. We are planning the same trip there next year and will stay at this hotel again. The area has miles and miles of bike paths, some that go through large old train tunnels . Our group came to this area to do the bike trails and tunnels and really enjoyed it, we had kids between 7 and 14 and they all had a great experience. Great hotel and great experience in Sparta!

The two things that I prefer when staying at a hotel is quiet and darkness in my room during sleep hours. This hotel was far too noisy and there was an outside hotel light shining directly into our room. The curtains did very little to block the light.

I really enjoyed my time at this location. The staff were friendly and the hotel was clean. I liked its location because its close to the interstate, but it is still quiet. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Sparta area.

We always stay and Sparta Trail Lodge when visiting family. This was our first trip since covid. We didn't know what what services to expect. We were pleasantly surprised that Breakfast, pool, and Brewski's were up and running. Rooms have all recently been remodeled and are great. Hotel staff was always available, helpful and friendly. We had a great 4 nights. Just being able to swim with my grand daughter made the whole trip extra special.

With over 36 nights in hotels in the last year I would rate this as one of the top. Spotlessly clean, well decorated, and quiet. The desk clerk, Cassie, was a customer service superstar at check in and the GM was just as nice at check out. What a pleasant surprise at such an affordable rate. This property gave me a great glimpse into the new Best Western. In travels in this area it will be our go-to.

My husband, and our 4 kids stayed here Jan 24th and 25th. We checked in fri evening. The receptionist checking us in was kind. We headed to the restaurant after the kids went to the pool to meet with friends and were greeted by more friendly faces and amazing pizza. Come Sat after getting back around 6pm, we headed back to the bar. This bartender was frazzled by the large crowd coming in and told us she has only bartended a few times. So, we eventually all went out to the sitting area in the lobby, and that's where she got very rude with us for drinking, because not everyone was spending the money in the bar. Eventually we got kicked out by an unfriendly receptionist-saying they do not allow carry ins. If you do not buy from the bar or hotel you can not have it there. And you can not meet with friends in common area's. Our stay was decent, but not something you would expect for the amount of business they had all weekend. The hotel was full with hockey families, and we spend a lot of money to be sent to our rooms. The children, all of them there that weekend, had a blast in the pool area though. Everything was clean, quick, and easy.

This is a great motel for the price. Although the saying, "location, location, location" may apply to some motels I say, "value, value, value" along with a great location. Easy on and off I-90 and a convenient gas station next to the motel. Clean, comfortable, and a great breakfast as well.

We were out for a family event in December. The rooms were clean and recently updated. The hotel was not as busy as it is during the summer. But that was a plus for us. Rooms come with a breakfast, but I am not much of a breakfast eater, so not to impressed. Also, my hubby is a very picky eater and most of the things served are not on his list of approved food. My great nephew loves the kiddy pool with dragon slide.

Wonderful staff and customer service! Willing to go the extra mile making our stay incredibly comfortable; hands down the best hotel staff I have ever had. Cleanly quarters and environment throughout the hotel, and the extra amenities, available snacks for purchase, bar/lounge area, and pool were all wonderful.

Room was clean, I had an executive suite and they are roomy, breakfast was decent, restaurant and lounge were not very good, cook messed up a few times, and waitress and cook acted like it was no big deal, waited 30 minutes for a burger, and there were only 2 other people.

Our entire family of 18 stayed here for New Year's Eve and had a wonderful time. The hotel is clean and welcoming. The pool area is extraordinary with a large wading pool with a slide and a slide for the big pool; plus a hot tub and sauna. All were utilized and enjoyed!!

They had probably the cleanest bathtub I've seen at a hotel. The lighting was great along with the set up of the overall room. Bed is a little firm and the blankets seemed to hold heat alot for me and I couldn't sleep well because of that, but my boyfriend slept fine. It was a peaceful stay with a good quality breakfast. Not to mention the bar and pool is one of the best in town hotel wise!

For a small town this is a very nice hotel. The staff was so accommodating. I cant say enough on their professionalism. Not to mention their very friendly attitude. The hotel was very clean. Breakfast was some of the best I have had at a "breakfast included" hotel. The location is very convenient. Very happy with our stay. Next time through, I'm staying here.

The hotel was very neat and clean. The service was outstanding and we also enjoyed dinner at the pub. The food and service were also excellent. This was the first time I had stayed at this location and found it to be excellent. It was easy to find. The hotel was neatly decorated and the check-in and checkout service was also excellent. Roberta was very friendly and have my information already on hand and printed. Check in took less than 5 minutes and did not feel rushed in any manner.

It was a very refreshing experience staying at the Best Western Plus in Sparta, Wisconsin this last weekend. Their service is great and their amiability and courteousness shined. The rooms are spacey, modern, well decorated and clean! But all around the hotel you could notice it was sparking! Their breakfast food is very varied and there was always enough for everyone! I recommend this place a 100 percent!

Newer hotel. Clean. Great staff. The restaurant and bar are a plus! Pool table too. Pool has slide for the kids. Breakfast spread is best I've ever seen; its large! I pretty much live in hotels for work, so I like to think I know a good hotel when I see one. This is one of them! Lastly, the bed and pillow combo is fantastic! This place was a golden find. The staff here is extremely friendly and courteous as though you were at higher end hotel without the snobbishness. We checked in late yesterday and felt very welcomed by the desk attendant. We did not use the pool but saw that it has a slide from a window facing the parking lot. Again, at their onsite restaurant had a good wholesome and fresh evening meal; the staff is amazingly friendly, three people touched base with us in a personal way. I felt like I was at Cheers! Full breakfast spread where we were greeted by two dining attendats; friendly, warm and smiling as they helped me find my way (woke up late) through their offerings. They watched the chafing pans and were adding to them 5 minutes before breakfast was scheduled to close; diners still present. The hotel was built in 2002 according to restaurant worker and had a recent full renivation; the lobby is light and appealing, the comfortable rooms are spacious, attractive, and everything is well maintained. Very clean, full control of room temperature, windows that open, quick elevator, laundry. Loved the amenities at this hotel. The pool, hot tub and sauna were wonderful. the restaurant / Lounge didn't have too many options available especially for those on a special diet so we went out to eat instead. The fitness center was great however I wish they had complimentary bottled water or ice water available charging $2 for a bottle of water was a bit greedy

We came up for a mini get away. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub plus the breakfast. Room was clean and comfortable. The entire site is in excellent condition. It was easy to get to from the highway. We would stay here again.

On our way from Michigan to Minnesota for a biking trip along the Root River Trail, our group stopped in Sparta, WI to bike the Elroy-Sparta Trail. We spent the night here. The rooms were very clean and fresh. They even had the TV remote in a clean bag! We were tired from our travels so opted to eat at the hotel for dinner. The food was above average for hotel food. The breakfast was adequate. The staff was VERY helpful and friendly.

Enjoyed the room and the breakfast in the morning, It's not far from the Elroy- Sparta and Lacrosse river trails. It's not far from Ft. Mccoy. It's right off of I-90 and easy to get to. Plenty of good dining in the area.

Checked in after a long & tiring canoe trip on the Kick-a-Poo River out of Ontario. Reasonable situation, but disappointed that we were not able to get 1st floor room. NO ELEVATOR! Easy trip to WI Cranberry Cranberry Center. Recommend trip to that center! Excellent video. Quick access to Interstate for trip south

The General manager Lal Pataliputra & staff went over and beyond the call of service. They were very helpful, polite, courteous. Very thing was very neat and clean. We were on a bus trip with thirty adults with disabilities. I was one of the care takers on the trip. I was awakened by the chirping of the smoke detector at 2:30am. Called the front desk to have staff come and replace the battery, staff did respond but he was unable to replace battery and stop the chirping, so he took the removable part of the detector off. The chirping did stop, but I never got back to sleep. At checkout the front desk staff said she could not adjust/reduce that night's rate. The hotel GM, has not responded to my request either.

We were moving across country with 2 pets. The reception desk clerk was great! Clean rooms, great personnel in lounge. Good breakfast. Nice pool area and amenities. Easy access from highway and next to gas station/convenience store.

Got a good rest in this well run hotel. We've been here a number of times because it's consistently great. Quiet at night and super comfortable beds. The times I've used the fitness room it's been worth going; the equipment is sturdy and the workout space functions well.

A group of friends made reservations to stay at the Best Western for two nights while biking the Elroy-Sparta trail. Don't be fooled by the name "Sparta Trail Lodge." The hotel is miles from the railroad depot and start of the trails. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted and the check-in process went quickly. The hotel has gone through recent renovations which gave it a look of being new. I definitely appreciated having the mini-frige and microwave in the room as well as having Brewski's pub and grill on site. The beds were comfy and the bathroom had plenty of space. In spite of all the rooms being filled (mostly by military personnel who were training nearby), it was very quiet morning to night. I found the staff to be extremely accommodating with a few special requests we had. Their efforts were appreciated!

They had a resort -level pool area with lots of natural light coming in, several pools and sitting areas and a FINLANDIA SAUNA THAT WAS ON! No need to ask for it to be heated and then wait around but it was ready! Just step in and channel your inner Finnish self. (I'm a Finn so it helps) Also the fitness room was proper, good quality equipment, well lit with a big window, TV, bubbler, hooks on walls. I've seen enough lousy fitness rooms in otherwise good hotels that are essentially broom closets. This one was expected to be used and that's great. It's a sweet hotel.

I stayed in this hotel recently. Easy Check in and out. The pool and hot tub were great although did not use this trip. The last time I was there I water walked in the pool around the entire ridge. Great exercise without sweating! The hotel is upgraded from last year. The bed was comfortable and it was completely quiet. Teresa made us great breakfasts in the morning in the reception area! The cleaning staff was respectful and thorough. Great service the entire trip. There is an elevator and washer and dryer as well. I met some wonderful veterans there called Military Order of the Cootie "The Honor Degree of the VFW" and their members are comprised of the officers and leadership of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States. What an honor it was to meet a distinguished group of people.

The breakfast and pool make this worth the money spent. The pool has a little water slide and there is a little kid area with a tinier slide. This hotel has a hot tub and sauna as well. I would definitely stay again if in the area.

We recently stayed at this hotel with a motor coach group and over two dozen rooms. Check in was smooth...luggage delivered to our rooms....and very comfortable rooms. Having a bar in the hotel is a plus and there's a ton of space for breakfast in the morning. That's not always the case at most hotels.

We recently stayed with a group and the customer service was A+ from start to finish. Marcia (hotel manager) made booking my reservation effortless. Marcia and the restaurant manager worked together to be sure all went smoothly for our group. The hotel is beautiful, updated and very clean from the lobby to our guest rooms. Guest rooms feature a refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker and very comfy beds. The complimentary breakfast was very good with great variety each day and the area for the guests was very clean. The staff throughout the hotel provided excellent customer service throughout our stay.

We choose this hotel for it's proximity to the Elroy-Sparta and LaCrosse River Trails and found the staff, room and breakfast to be top notch. When we checked in I mentioned I had requested a first floor room so we could bring our bikes in for the night and they put us near one of the entrances to make it easier for us to do so. We certainly will stay here again.

The hotel is updated with new carpeting and very nice, comfortable beds. It was beautiful and clean. (Take my word for it. I'm picky!) We had a pet-friendly room at the end of the hall, with easy access to the outside. There's a dead-end road adjacent to a field, right outside the door, where we were able to walk our dog. Breakfast is provided at no extra charge and was truly a full breakfast. Everything from omelettes, sausage, pancakes to bagels. We were very pleasantly surprised! The interactions with the bartender and the young lady at the front desk were all positive. The housekeeping staff should also be recognized, because they obviously take pride in their work! I can honestly say that our stay was perfect!

This is a nice motel & offers in-room refrigerator, microwave & coffee maker. There's a free breakfast and the eggs, sausages, bacon, & potatoes were hot & tasty. Options for making waffles & large assortment of other breakfast items was a real treat. Small lounge & food available 4-9 p.m. was a welcome surprise.

from the moment you arrive until you leave all your needs are met . The ambiance upon entrance continues through into your room . Very tidy , clean , inviting room. The hotel is very nice with a great breakfast! We stayed only one night but found the staff to be friendly and the hotel to be clean and a decent place to stay. Our breakfast was good. The waffles are AMAZING but we were disappointed with the "omelet". The cheese in the middle was worse than a KRAFT single. I would not recommend the omelet but the rest of the food and selection was appreciated. I would stay here again when we are in the area.

Hotel looks nearly new and was very clean on the inside. Good breakfast area and heated indoor pool was big. The rooms were spacious and included a microwave and refrigerator. Only downside is that there is not much to do near the hotel, as you are still 20 miles from LaCrosse and other area attractions.

This was the fourth hotel I've stayed at this week. This place was twice as nice as any of the others. The place is solidly built, meaning it was quiet. Everywhere else I stayed you could hear ever door close, and every person walking above you. The pool area was large and well maintained. The room was comfortable, nice furnishings, comfortable bed. WiFi was strong and consistent. Breakfast was good. Most places offered either pancake or waffles, they had both. Breakfast area was neat and spread out, unlike most places. I highly recommend this Best Western Hotel!

It was a great experiences. The staff was incredibly nice and accommodating. We came for a funeral. I wanted to get in the room and freshen up before hand. They had no problem giving us the room at 9am. Newly renovated, very pretty and clean. The jacuzzi and pool area were just as perfect. Nothing but good things to say.

I would give this hotel a 5 rating except the walls are so thin you can hear everything your neighbor does. We thought someone was trying to get into our room. Nope. They were only hanging things in the closet (which by the way has no door but a curtain). Then we heard every word the couple spoke to each other. And I was startled awake at 2 am when they returned home drunk. As well as everyone else up and down the hallway. We were at the far end of the hallway. I heard at least 6 doors close as people returned from a wedding. Now...other than paper thin walls, this hotel was bright. It was clean. The staff were super friendly. I recommend. Just beware of thin interior walls.

I was in charge of booking a hotel for our small group that was competing in Lacrosse for a robotics competion. The Staff here went above and beyond with every request I had. Managment was excellent along with customer service. Everyone I talked to was polite and curtious and more then willing to do what they could to keep everything simple and our stay most enjoyable. The rooms were clean and just what we expected. Breakfast was great and plenty of food for our gourp of 25. The kids enjoyed the pool and adults the hot tub. Resturant/ pub right on property was convient. Great experience!

the upgrades to the entire facility are beautiful. The staff is very pleasant at check in and thru out our stay. The beds were very comfortable, the new hvac units were very nice, my wife needs air moving even in winter, and the unit did it's job. As they say "happy wife, happy life"

Small town, only 4 or 5 choices. We made the right choice. Cordial, professional, clean, very good breakfast. Will stay again. In close proximity to our business. Right off of the Interstate. A great family restaurant in front of the hotel. We will see you again in November. Highly recommend it.

My daughter and I went up to Wisconsin to visit my parents. The Best Western in Sparta is our usual place to stay for quality and comfort. They are remodeling and the hotel already looks amazing, I can't wait to see the finished product.

Hotel was located right off the snowmobile trail. It was nice after a full day of riding to check in to a very clean comfortable room and a hotel that included a buffet breakfast and hot tub to soak our sore bodies. We will definitely be looking to stay here again next snow season.

This is the best hotel by far we have stayed at. Lal, Marcia, and Chet are all amazing people and go out of their way to make you feel at home. Rooms are newly renovated, breakfast is great. No complaints.

It was wonderful experience to stay there. Good service and employes are great. Breakfast service is best.It is best place to spend your weekends or if your on business. I had a great sleep when I came late at night. Everyone should stay here if your looking for a weekend get away ir a place to stay in business.

I was staying here for buisness and I really enjoyed the place. It is under remodeling but the outcome so far looks great. The staff was friendly and the food was deliscious. I would definatly recommend staying here!

The people that work at this hotel are the NICEST people ever. We were traveling from New York on business and travel about 5 months out of the year and coming to the Best Western Plus Sparta really makes our day. Marcia and Bethany that work at the desk as well as Ricky the maintenance guy are all SO sweet and welcoming and really made us feel like we were at home. The new renovations look great, our room was super clean, and we enjoyed breakfast. Highly recommend this hotel.

This motel has an excellent location if you are traveling along I-90. Even while under construction the place is clean and well kept. The breakfast was decent...the staff was friendly. When the remodel is complete this will be an even better place to stay.

I stayed with my co workers at this best western plus hotel,we find very nice hotel in small town. Clean and comfortable with newly renovated! I recommend this to all travelers to sparta. Bar and Greta's plus to this location.

Upon arrival we weren't sure they were open, they had pallets of remodeling supply's out side as well as in the pool area. Once we got our room we found for some reason we were given a handicap room. Breakfast was overly reheated many times.

With the main lobby being renovated the evening of our arrival, we were convienently directed to another entry and checked in. Staff apologized for any inconvenience, but there was little for us. Have had enough road time that day, and with one of the first snows of the season falling, we decided to stay at the in hotel restaurant for our dinner. Turned out to be so easy for a very good pub style meal along with available drinks after a long day. Room was nicely appointed for travelers. Breakfast and check out with friendly staff in the newly opened lobby made for a great stay.

A group of friends stayed here with me for Cranberry Fest. The hotel was very clean and the beds were comfy! The bat and grill hit very busy with Cranfesters...but the waitress we had did a great job.

I brought a large group to this hotel September 18th. We had 40 rooms. Lal Patel had all the key packets ready so check-in was a breeze. Rooms were all clean and had no issues to be resolved. The staff at this hotel and at Brewski's Restaurant were more than accommodating to my group. Breakfast offered was varied and above average. I would recommend this hotel for anyone traveling in the area.

I Stayed here with my family over the last weekend. We found very nice and clean hotel in western Wisconsin. I was going little further but, my wife said lets sleep now. I glad stop at this hotel. Clean hotel with nice service that's all I wants !!

I was visited Sparta,wi hotel for Fort Macoy from Texas. Went to Sparta Wi to enjoy the great scenery and Elroy Sparta Rail Trail. Great place. Good biking in the area. Beautiful landscape. The hotel was great. Clean and the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable with the area. Jessica and Chet in the bar are great people and fun to talk with. The food is basic bar food but done very well and Jessica will keep your beer glass full. Awesome people awesome stay and again a fantastic area.

We were driving from east going to west, stop here in midway to get some rest. Very nice best western hotel with updated rooms(Common area carpet looks old). My husband thought, this is the best service, we ever received in hotel. When we arrived front desk was so exited to host us. Best western indeed.

This is a very nice hotel. The building is very nice inside and out. Our room was very nice, clean and comfortable. The staff was very pleasant and efficient. The cleaning staff was very thorough and detailed in their duties. The bed was excellent and very comfortable. The Internet is very fast and easy to use. My wife said the breakfast was good and had a good amount of choices. All in all, a very nice experience! The Manager, Mr. Patel handled an issue with their business center and it works great now! Very much appreciated!

The place was very clean and the rates were reasonable. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was great. We didn't have time to use the pool or the fitness room but they looked very nice and well kept up. Definitely will stay here again if in the areal

The rooms are clean but dimly lit. In our room at least the bed and TV were at one end, a couch and sitting chair were in a dark middle section arranged to stare at a blank wall (clearly set up for a tv but without one), and the bathroom was at the other end. I didn't try the pool but it looked nice enough. The workout area looked surprisingly well stocked. Overall, pretty standard side of highway hotel. The attached restaurant had pretty good pizza.

The hotel was very guest friendly. Easy check-in; large and clean rooms, a bar and grill right on sight, a pool with not only a hot tub and regular pool, but also a baby pool for toddlers. The breakfast buffet had more selection of foods and condiments than any we have seen. Great place to stay!!!

The weekend we choose was a very busy weekend at the Best Western Plus. Easy check in, good service when needed, clean and quiet facility. Breakfast bar was continually checked and refilled as needed.

hotel is very clean,rooms were big,bed was soft, hot breakfast had good selection and the pub & grill had really good food. easy to get off 90.staff was friendly .pool is huge with kids little water slide. just felt at being home.

We stayed at the Sparta Best Western en route to Sturgis, SD. It was the best Best Western we have stayed at...the pool area is perfect for families. We were upgraded to a suite just because we had to wait at check in as there was,a large group ahead of us checking in! Lovely staff!

As a family of 4 staying at The Sparta Trail Lodge I would highly recommend this hotel. The staff was wonderful and the room were very neat and clean. They served complimentary breakfast in the morning with lots of options. I would defiantly stay again

Stayed here at this hotel for the tournament and had a wonderful experience . staff was excellent and allow the kids to have fun. breakfast was well stocked. everything was above the best western standards. rooms was nice and clean, very big pool, great internet. Staff was the best.

I am traveling for my work,I usually stay at Hampton inn with my corporate account.But I thought let me try different this time,I stay at this best western under my corporate rate.So rate was not bad,hotel was lot nicer than some I have stayed and bar and grill was plus on premises This is my destination now on! As soon as we walked in front desk person greeted us . The check in was really fast. They gave me really great update for a room. Room was very big. Hallways was wide. I went to brewski pub for a few beer and food after a long ride. they had amazing food .Beds was comfortable. Great place to stay. thank you very much.

Love when you find a place that has a hot breakfast, included. So helpful when traveling with kids plus the mini fridge & microwave. The pool area was huge, so helpful for our large group to gather and watch the kids swim, bummer the slide wasn't working but with the room we all had we made the best of it. I didn't even know there was a small kiddy pool, that was a sweet surprise. On site bar/lounge is always a bonus. Staff was super friendly, Luther the 3rd shift guy was outstanding. Rooms felt a little wet and dirty upon arrival just didn't have that clean feel but overall it was good :)

We are working with the housekeepers to ensure all of our rooms are spic and span all the time. The new owners are working on getting the slide reopened so hopefully the next time you stay with us you will be able to use it. Didn't start off on a good foot when there was no one at the front desk when we walked in. Stood there for at least 5 minutes, when someone arrived. She was apologetic, and I tried not to let it cloud my opinion. The rooms were clean, but dated. The walls are very thin, and unfortunately we had noisy neighbors with smaller children who enjoyed slamming the door until 11pm. That's not the hotel's fault, but biased our stay. One positive was the breakfast was good.

We planned our return trip from the west and decided upon Sparta as a quick stop off the interstate, and booked a pair of rooms a few months before.The property did not disappoint us. The location was easy on and off Interstate 90. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We ventured down to their small tavern and had some bar food and drinks and were quite pleased with the overall friendliness of the hotel staff. The hot breakfast was plentiful and presented many food options.This was a good choice and value for the money. Consider this venue if you are in the area

We stopped off at this gem during our road trip. Check in at 11pm was a breeze and hotel staff was very helpful. The free breakfast was typical fare and very clean. Indoor hotel pool was clean enough (not spotless) — had a separate kiddie pool with small slide, and a deeper pool with a slide that had been out of service for a couple years. We were able to swim in the morning, with checkout at noon. Hotel room was spotless with great pillows and comfy beds. Great cable TV too. Perfect quick stop off the highway, which gave us time to refresh and rejuvenate.

The Best Western Plus was easy to get to, very clean, comfortable, and had a wonderful hot breakfast. The prices are great. The exercise room is small but had good equipment. The shower head was great. The hot water came immediately and water was soft. There is a pool with a slide, a bar and conference room at this location. My only complaint would be the desk in the room does not have a chair that is ergonomically adapted to the desk. The chair is too low (or desk too high).

We were here for my daughter graduation party last week. the desk clerk was very helpful and very kind. the rooms are big and very clean. they offer very good breakfast in the morning.overall great stay. we will definitely come back.

This unassuming building perched alone off the highway was like an oasis in the desert. Thefront desk welcomed us with a speedy checkin. Our room was a bit tired but very large and very clean. The attached "restaurant"actually a brew pub served up the most amazing pulled pork sandwich for me and brisket for my husband. Both delicious and affordable. The gym was okay. My only complaint is the pillows. Please replace them! The very helpful manager told me this hotel was recently purchased and gradually being upgraded. I would definitely return.

My family was coming back from Milwaukee on Saturday the 14th, hoping to beat most of the storm that was coming. By the time we hit Sparta the roads were barely navigable. We pulled into a gas station in Sparta and with about an hour before hitting La Crosse we debated staying overnight at the Best Western nearby. I called the hotel and the lady (Sheila, I believe) answered and had said they were booked due to a military team coming through. After learning that the storm was supposed to let up after an hour we thought maybe we could wait it out in the hotel lobby. I called back and got the same lady and asked. "We prefer that people not do that." was her reply in regards to this. I understand that hotels have policies like this, but the roads were dangerous to be on and we were hoping for a small act of kindness. I had my two boys with and didn't want to put them at risk. "Miss, the we just want to wait it out until either the storm lets up or a plow goes by." "Oh the plows are done for the night. They won't go back out again until 3:30AM." I was frustrated that we couldn't just spend a little time warming up before braving the storm again. There weren't any other hotels nearby. If my kids weren't with I wouldn't have even bothered asking. I just wanted to keep them safe. "I understand you're just doing your job but I was hoping you could go above and beyond and help us in these circumstances. Forget it, we'll figure it out on our own." We managed to make it back home that night, but had a semi not come through shortly after we got back on the highway I don't know if we would have ended up in the ditch. Maybe I'm out of line for asking for help, but in such bad circumstances I was hoping someone might have been able to help a little.

I'm sincerely sorry this happened. Sheila was acting on our standard response to questions like that, and they are in place for safety and security of our all our guests. She might have been responding to the fact the hotel was full as well, leaving our public spaces quite occupied since the weather wasn't great, I can't say for sure, I wasn't in the hotel that particular night. I do apologize, we certainly don't want to turn anyone away and we want to help in a tough situation, and I wish we could go back and make this situation right. I am glad to hear you made it home safe and sound, but I hope if you come to our area again, you will give our hotel another chance to provide you better service. Thank you for your feedback, it is appreciated and will be used for training in the future.

The hotel is well run. The rooms are fine and the rates are a great value. The bar and restaurant are very good with great prices. The fare is bar food: apps, burgers pizza, salads and some great sandwiches. The chicken wings are among the best I ever had. Good place to stop for business or while traveling.

Not happy with this hotel. More like a roach infested motel. Keep your kids away from this place,lots of truck drivers looking for women. Creepy. The room itself was ok, but I saw bugs in the hallway. Stay elsewhere

I am sorry but I am having a hard time verifying your reservation name and stay date. The comments do not sound like they are from this hotel as we do not have any of the problems you described. Please call me at your earliest convenience to discuss at 608-269-2664.

Stayed with family for a celebration and for a gymnastics meet. Good rate. The location is perfect. Quick on and off highway or a quick drive into town. The front staff makes the place. They are very friendly happy and helpful. Good pool and hot tub. Breakfast was a full meal and delicious. The pub food was very good but the service wan't great Cons: shower heads are way to short, 1 elevator but the stairs are good. Definitely would stay here again if returning to the area.

Most spacious value hotel stayed at in awhile! From the room and bath, to hallways and breakfast area- all roomy. Hot breakfast had 6 options and then waffles and pancakes. Staff all nice. Kind of off by itself- but easy access.

The hotel was pretty good, my grandkids loved swimming. We arrived on Saturday afternoon and checked in with a pretty nice clerk who told us the restaurant opened at 4. I decided to call my Dad who lives in town and invite him to come have an early dinner with us. He got there right at 4, I wanted the kids to have plenty of time to swim after dinner. As we were waiting outside the Restaurant door a very rude curt man asked if he could help us. I told him we were waiting to eat dinner, to which I was rudely informed that the restaurant does not open until 4:30. I replied that the desk clerk said it opened at 4, and then he gave me some dumb remark that the bar opens at 4, but they do not begin serving until 4:30.. None of this was a huge deal except my Dad is elderly and likely did not want to sit in a hotel lobby for 30 minutes. My next question regarding that was why did they not open the doors at 4 and at least let us sit in the bar? Finally at about 4:40 a woman came and unlocked the door and we came in. To my dismay she was equally rude and seemed annoyed that we even came in there, which was surprising because we were the only table in there. She took her sweet time waiting on us and in the meantime I went over to a pull tab machine to buy my Dad and I some pull tabs, he loves those. It took my $10 and did not give me any tickets. When the waitress finally decided to wait on us, I told her and her attitude was totally "not my problem" she gave me a dumb story about how they do not take care of the machines and I would have to contact John. Fantastic customer service. In the morning, I talked to the desk clerk about the $10 I lost and AGAIN I was treated very rudely although she did give me my refund. I have never experienced such awful displays of customer service. My grandchildren were in a hurry to swim or believe me we would not have stayed in the restaurant from hell. Totally disappointed with this. The hotel was great, pool was fun for the kids but by the time we got there I was so soured with the whole place.

Susan, Thank you for informing me of the poor service you encountered in our restaurant area of the hotel. I was quite surprised by your survey so I did look back at security footage to see what the employees on duty were doing and why it was taking so long to get that area opened up. They seemed to open the doors at 4:20, which by my standards is too late.You are correct that it should not have been a big deal to enter restaurant while they were getting everything set up, even if bartender was running a little late. I will be personally talking with both employees, sharing your comments and showing them video. I apologize for not coming through with excellent customer service that we are pretty well known for. I am glad you found the silver lining with the hotel, and the pool area.

Nice clean hotel with comfortable beds staff was very friendly and helpful. Location was convenient. would definitely stay at this property again. Close by bike trails. Will make plans for a summer trip.

I had flown into Minneapolis-St Paul airport and wanted a hotel to stay in to help easy me back into my work schedule that was closer to home then Minneapolis and didn't want to spend a ton for a hotel after already spending money on vacation. Got a lot more then what I was expecting. Loved the hotel and only wish I had more time to enjoy it.

We love this hotel! We like coming here to stay and we go to a near by town to see venues at local bars. We try to go back every couple months for girls weekends. At checkout we generally don't want to leave. We like the staff all over the hotel they are so friendly.

Clean, comfortable, upgraded and classy. The people are very nice and helpful. Great breakfast, convenient to the interstate. It has a pool and jacuzzi. Very, very nice. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a safe, clean and enjoyable hotel. Price range may be a little higher than some, but perhaps not for the area.

I very highly recommend staying here if you are in the area, you will not be disappointed. Best place we staying in our travels, very courteous and helpful. They also helped with our travel plans we were not sure about, we are from out of the area and did not have maps of the area, they had a map with everything we wanted to see and pointed out other interesting sites which were very interesting, they were very helpful and nice people

We were not very familiar with the Best Western chain in the past and were very pleasantly surprised by this beauty. It is sort of tucked back and out of the way, but what a gem. We did not have a reservation but they had room and I am so glad they did. We were just starting a western trip to visit family and see the sights. It was the perfect way to start. This hotel was clean, the room is large, the beds comfortable, and most importantly it was quiet. The rooms have fridges and microwaves. The pool area was really nice with a large indoor pool with slide a kids splash pool and large hot tub. The breakfast was really good with a wide selection of cold and hot buffet style food. I would certainly stay here again when I return to Sparta.

There isn't much around the hotel but a gas station. It seems safe enough. The property is in good shape. The elevator is kind of slow. I would say the staff is helpful and courteous The room was nice enough, clean and the beds were good. Plenty of pillows etc. Several outlets in the room, flat screen TV with plenty of channels to watch. The bathroom was clean. We oddly enough were short towels. The pool was huge! The hot tub was good. Breakfast was great/ Lots of options! I would return.

Our stay here was hardly "spartan" very high quality with great value, clean and updated rooms and great breakfast. We will definitely go out of our way to stay here again. Very comfortable and great service.

Newly remodeled rooms. Free WiFi. Brewskis is great restaurant and bar. Really fun indoor pool and hot tub. The free breakfast is just right and a great way to start the day. Next door is a truck stop that has the fresh cheese curds good Wisconsin beer.

Has been recently remodeled so made the stay great. Pool area is very nice with great area for families with small children. Breakfast had a variety of hot and cold foods and beverages. Will definitely stay again if in Sparta area.

The hotel was convenient on/off Interstate, the room was very clean, the service at the in house bar/grill was very good and the breakfast was great. Very good value. The pool area and exercise room looked very nice although it wasn't used.

nice hotel ..good wifi, quiet room and a large room only complaint was bed was too firm for me but wife loved it..if you like a soft pillowtop mattress like me this is not what you want but if you like a very firm mattress you'll sleep like a baby. Breakfast was OK, at least not ALL carbs

We were treated poorly upon arriving at your hotel. My sister arrived at 1:30 and wanted to check in and was told she had to wait until 3:00. I and my other sister arrived at 2:00 and was also told we couldn't check in until 3:00. We were told that they had 80 rooms to clean and couldn't possibly have all those rooms ready before 3:00. We only wanted one room not eighty! I couldn't believe how ridiculous this statement was, nor have we ever had to sit in the lobby waiting until 3:00 to check in at any other hotel we have ever stayed at. The room needs a lot of updating. The bathtub was dirty and the floor tile was dirty and the grout was coming out which left large cracks in the floor. Last but not least, the breakfast was good, what there was of it. There was no bacon,sausage, ham or eggs. I needed to ask your staff to refill these, even though she made a show of checking to see if anything needed refilling, she did not refill those items until asked! When we arrived on Friday and went down for breakfast we were told that the truck didn't arrive yet, so no bacon or sausage and the eggs were almost gone at 7:45am. This is just poor management! We had a disappointing stay.

Friend and I stayed here on our way to CranFest in Warrens. It was OK for our one night stay, but we would not likely stay here again. Employees were friendly and helpful. Could use some updates and more attention to detail in cleaning. They did have a very nice continental breakfast that was included.

The Sparta Best Western was very easy to locate off the freeway. From the time we arrived, we were impressed. Hotel staff very accommodating with directions and recommendations to eat. Also, suggested new route for our trip. Rooms were very nice and comfortable. Breakfast was wonderful with an abundant of choices. We have been traveling for 5 days and this was the best so far!

Good location, but out dated, carpet is dirty. The room air conditioner doesn't seal and stinks when the heating option is used. The side entrance door didn't work. The restaurant and bar was nice and well run.

Thank you for the review, unfortunately it sounds like your stay was not to our higher standard that we like to hear from. I apologize for all of your concerns during your stay, as you can see from our other reviews we usually score pretty high with customer reviews. I am sorry we fell short of your expectations. All guest room carpet has been replaced when we remodeled all the guest rooms, the public areas are next. It sounds like the coil on the heater was not cleaned before fall, therefore the smell when heat was turned on. I am glad you found the silver lining with our restaurant and our location. If you are in the area again, please try to give us another chance at earning your business.

Great stay. Best restaurant food and service, thanks to Chet and the chef! Friendly helpful staff. Nice clean room. We always stay in Best Western's and this one along with the one in Cobourg Ontario was the best ever.

The front desk clerk was very friendly and pleasant. She always remembered my name every morning when I came down to breakfast. The restaurant/bartender was very interesting and gave me lot's of tips on where to go for interesting shopping. The food was good, the pizza and their burger were very good. I loved the idea that I had the whole pool and hot tub to myself during the week. The entire hotel was really clean. Going down for breakfast was always nice, the women who is in charge of the food was very nice and kind. All and all I was/am very please with the entire stay. Oh,the bed made me sleep like I was in heaven....I haven't slept that good in months. I score them a great big 100%

What a treat to find a hotel that greeted you with a smile upon your check in and made sure any and/or all questions were answered. Room was clean and comfy! The breakfast was a full buffet with choice of hot meat and other items. Don't forget the lounge and restaurant. Their pizza was the best for just a light supper! We have stayed in many chain hotels and have seen none finer for service and amenities

There was no one at desk for check in. Gentleman in front of us rang the desk phone, hoping someone would answer it, it took a while. We were four deep waiting to check in before someone showed up. When we got to our room on the bed there was a big stain in the middle of the cover which could not have been missed if anyone cared to check. Had it not been Labor Day Weekend, we would have gone someplace else. Breakfast was also a disappointment. There was not any bacon left in the bin, saw attendant check hot table and thought, she'll bring some out, I will get the rest of my breakfast, as long as we waited, never did see bacon be replaced. It was early enough that there was about an hour and a half left of breakfast time. So disappointed from check in to breakfast. We have stayed there numerous times and never had any of these problems.

Always a nice place to stay. Staff is friendly and calls you by first name. Food is good in lounge and reasonably priced. Rooms are recently remodeled, and other updates in hotel are in process..we always stay here when we come to Camp McCoy!!

Thanks Doug, always nice to see you and talk a bit. Maybe next time you won't have to get back to go golfing, and you could stay a little longer.

Everything was as expected. clean and comfortable. the breakfast was ok, could have included more items. We had a coupon which we could not use, so that was disappointing. The hotel was off the beaten path, and we had trouble getting to it, had to turn around to get back to it.

We had an excellent stay for 3 nights as we biked the area around Sparta and Elroy. Well maintained property and very helpful staff. Great choices for a hot breakfast. Will stay here again if we head back to this area!

the manager was very nice and he was very helpful in my check out process and even brought me the rec't to me at my car in the parking lot. the room was very nice and a nice bed. restaurant was close by. everything was great and we would stay again if we are passing through this area.

My family was just passing through Sparta, but wished we had more time here. The hotel was beautiful. The staff was friendly. My kids loved the pool area. The hours of operation for the pool from 7am to 11pm worked out well for us.

Best Western is working hard to emphasize cleanliness, comfortable beds and pillows and a great breakfast. All things important to tired traveler. Have stayed at 5 different ones across US and they seem to be trying to have same standards. I count on them to be nice.

When we checked in, we were greeted warmly and welcomed. The desk person made sure we had everything we needed, and explained the hotel amenities to us. I mentioned our destination for the next day, and she gave us advice on leaving time due to traffic near Madison, and recommended a good turn off to avoid the toll road coming up. We were very happy with the pool, but not some of the clientele that were in there. We had our 10 year old son with us, and even he commented about how much of a problem some of the other kids in the pool area were behaving. There were no adults there with them. This would be the one area I would say the hotel needed more attention to, keeping an eye on the behavior and perhaps keeping it toned down. Our room was perfect for us. We had two beds and plenty of space for us and what we had with us. We were near an exit that took us right out to our van. The breakfast the next morning was great. My son was impressed with the BW logo on the waffles. I had great biscuits & gravy (one of my favorite hotel breakfasts). The coffee was great. I have had several poor experiences with BW properties in the past. This one was great. Thanks.

The hotel itself is showing its age but the pool makes up for it. There is a large pool with a slide and small wading pool also with a slide. Breakfast was included and had a large selection but, at 8:30 they were out of things and not preparing more although breakfast is available until 9

Overall we had a smooth and most pleasant experience. Manager John did a great job getting my information for my group and great idea to suggest express check-in for our group of 27 people. We walked in, picked up our ready made check in bags (water, granola bars, complimentary drink cards, coaster, brochure for local festival and room keys) and set about to freshen up and go have fun! The pool area was awesome!

Renovated successfully, but brown is not my favorite color for a room because it looks old and dated. You have to look around when you enter the room because first impression is not good just because of the old color. They should have tried blue or black and grey. But it's clean. They should hire a new cook: you know exactly how every plate on the menu will taste like when you first notice they put mushrooms straight from a can in your salad with croutons and extremely shredded and tasteless cheddar... Try to find another restaurant in the city, except for breakfast which was good. Nice staff. Exercise room and swiiming pool ok. People in wheelchairs so it must be accessible. Calm place. Small families where present.

Best Western holds us to very particular colors etc, but we are very happy with all the changes we've made at the hotel. I'm also sorry to hear you were disappointed with your meal at Brewski's, generally we have rave reviews at the restaurant so I will have to look into what might have happened with your meal. I hope you will give us another try in the future.

A group of 27 riders including my husband and me rode the weekend of June10-11 . We stayed at the Best Western in Sparta, WI and had a very enjoyable stay. Would do it all again! Weather was wonderful, and locatioin of this Best Western was great. Staff all treated us with the utmost respect and care.

We had a group of 27. When we arrived the hotel was ready for us, with welcome bags and the keys to our rooms. The pool and hot tub were very relaxing after a long day of riding. Then since most of us we're tired and didn't want to get back on our bikes. We had drinks and dinner at the lounge. (We also received a free drink) Rooms were clean. Would definitely recommend and would go back again.

The Best Western on Wisconsin 16 is on the edge of town, but only a short drive to downtown Sparta, and less than two miles from the Elroy-Sparta Bike trail. The hotel is well maintained with very comfortable rooms complete with a refrigerator and plenty of channels on the TV to watch when your relaxing late night. If you don't want to venture out Brewski's pub on site opens about 5pm and features a reasonable selection of food and drinks. The first night I was there two couples had a hot game of cards going on while enjoying some beers. The breakfast menu is very diverse with the usual continental items, pancakes, eggs, some omelets, bacon, ham one day, and biscuits and gravy. Also some fresh fruit, juices, and decent coffee. After coming off the trail I was back their early and they worked hard to let me check in well before 2pm so I could clean up and relax. Staff is very friendly and the Wi-Fi works very well in the two different rooms I had. Pool and hot tub is indoor and looked inviting, but I didn't use them.

The people were friendly, rooms were clean, but not worth a place to crash for an eve. We paid extra for the extra amenities and it was def not worth it. Could have spent 100.00 less to stay at a place without a restaurant. The breakfast was awful. We were very excited to go to the pool. Not what we expected. And cannot bring in any drinks (non-alcoholic or not) or food. Our cooler had to stay a floor away. Not a huge deal but not what we had in mind.

We offer over 25 different items on our complimentary breakfast and I am sorry you did not find anything satisfactory in that area. Brewski's Pub & Grill is a licensed restaurant so unfortunately no carry ins are allowed in that area. The State of Wisconsin health department sets the policy of no food or drink allowed in the public pool area, so I apologize for you not being able to carry your coolers in there. Hopefully in the future you will give us another opportunity at earning your business.

The Best Western in La Crosse finally bit the dust, probably because of how poorly it was managed. If you are a loyal Best Western customer, the Best Western in Sparta is a good, fairly close alternative for any travel to the La Crosse area. I traveled there for work but out of Sparta you also have really neat leisure options, to include a 30 miles long bike trail that passes through about a mile long tunnel. I wish the hotel would take advantage of being located in a farming state and use as many local ingredients for breakfast as possible, ideally form small organic farmers, even if that meant raising room prices a little. This hotel has a good location, and is in very good condition. It has a lot of potential if management will put the customer first, especially now that the one in La Crosse has closed (actually it seems that a different brand took it over).

We came for a wedding and enjoyed every room. The front desk made changes to our room due to one less guest and gave us a wonderful upgrade! The room was spacious, clean, and welcoming. I would definitely recommend this location!

Stopped here for the night on a trip. The desk staff was excellent and checked us in right away. They also gave us tips on restaurants and suggested a great Italian place that we went to. Now this is not the Ritz Carlton but found the place to be clean and quiet. Had no issues with the room or anything else for that matter. I would not hesitate to stay here again if I got back to the area.

Just as titled, broken gym equipment in fitness center and yellow stained comforter, disgusting! Fornt desk lady was nice that's about the only plus to this "best western plus" hotel. Holiday Inn right next door to this one, use that hotel instead.

We stayed hear three nights as a base to explore the river valleys of the Driftless Zone. This was a great hotel and well located for our purposes. We had a three night reduced package We ventured into Iowa to view the Effigy Mounds and explored the north Mississippi River valley. The staff were friendly and the room was adequate after the leaking toilet was replaced. Breakfast was good and the guests better behaved in the breakfast room.

Wonderful hotel, staff, and service. Wouldn't stay anywhere else when in the area! The food was great and the bartender/server had great suggestions. We had the garlic parmesean pizza and it was heavenly. The room was well appointed and immaculate.

Friendly staff, clean place, nice breakfast. Went for a night, swimming pool was big and kids loved both big side and kids pool with slide. We would definitely stay again when we can. They have a pancake machine, kids thought it was cool...they are skinny but kids enjoyed them with syrup and whipped cream.

This was a very nice hotel in little old Sparta, WI. The pool area was especially nice. One larger (and deeper) pool with a slide into the 5 foot deep end. Another smaller pool for the littler ones with another small slide. Also a hot tub with very hot water as well as a sauna. The family of 4 enjoyed this very much. I wish for more breakfast options myself but we all managed to find enough to eat and were satisfied. Overall very clean and the beds were quite comfortable. We would recommend this hotel for sure!

I stayed here while on a trip to LaCrosse. I had called a day in advance and the lady that I talked to was very helpful. She was there when I arrived and advised me on other places to get fuel and eat if I chose to. There is a convenience store and restaurant next door but I chose to dine in-house. My room was very nice, clean and comfortable. The location is a bit baron but I liked that as it seemed a bit more serene and rustic. The bar/lounge was a nice perk. The food is pretty much bar food but what I had was tasty. I enjoyed a sandwich along with a Wisconsin beer. They could use a little more variety on tap but that is fairly minor. Breakfast was typical, the lady taking care of breakfast didn't seem like that happiest camper (compared to the rest of the staff), but overall it was a good stay and I would surely stay there again.

It was nice to hear that most the staff was on their game during your stay and I hope you will find the chance to stay with us again in the future.

We stayed here for a week-end of biking the Rails to Trails near by. The biking was great as well as this hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and well taken are of. We would stay here again if returning to bike the trails. The town of Sparta is a nice small town. Well taken care of and very friendly.

Thank You for the nice review on your stay at the Best Western Plus Sparta Trail Lodge. I am glad to hear you enjoyed our wonderful bike trails and also that the hotel met your expectations. Keep us in mind if you are in the area and need lodging accommodations.

We had mixed feelings on our stay. Brenda did a great job at the front desk and was very friendly and helpful. The desk staff was also friendly upon checkout. One of the maids was extremely friendly. She held open the elevator for us and initiated a nice conversation during the ride down. Teresa, in the breakfast room, was rude and unfriendly. She was not welcoming in the dining area nor did she greet any of the patrons. Patrons would speak to her and she would briefly respond when spoken to first. The breakfast ends at 9:00 during the weekdays and 9:30 on the weekend. This is extremely early. We arrived at 8:45 on the first day. We thought this would be enough time to enjoy ourselves and eat just as it would be if we arrived 15 minutes early in another hotel. When we arrived, some of the hot items were already empty and Teresa did not refill those items. She locked the door right at 9:00. I understand that breakfast ends at 9:00, but again, this is early for hotel breakfast stop time and we and others felt that it was rude to lock the door. The next day we arrived 35 minutes early. We said hello to Teresa and asked if we could sit in the backroom. She responded politely. Teresa refilled the omelets and pancake batter. Again, she kept to herself and did not greet anyone unless they spoke to her first. Teresa was cleaning up the food items right at 9:30. A family walked in just prior to her locking the door. They saw that there wasn't much food left and that what was there was being taken away. The family who also had small children, questioned Teresa. Teresa responded by saying, "It is not my fault that you were late, you should not have walked in late. We close at 9:30." At that point the family asked for her name and she responded, "Teresa". We were walking out to leave and were actually locked in the breakfast area! The behavior was inappropriate and I would hate for that to spoil someone's impression of an otherwise delightful staff and hotel. We enjoyed the hot pancakes which was much faster than the waffles and a unique item that we've never seen before. Ask for a remodeled room. The room was very clean as was the hotel as a whole. The bed was very comfortable. The pool water was ok and we enjoyed the larger sized hot tub and sauna. The bathroom shower was dirty and looked like it had not been cleaned for awhile. If I were rating my breakfast experience I would have given a 1 star. However, the hotel shined in enough areas that I gave it a 4 star rating. A 3 star wouldn't be accurate as this Best Western Plus is much better than an average hotel.

Thank you Randy for staying with us, although it seems we did pretty good on hotel in all, I was sorry to hear about the breakfast service you received. I will personally talk with Theresa about better ways to handle customer service oppurtunities, and not be in such a rush to get Breakfast Area closed and cleaned for the day. Hopefully this does not deter you from giving us another try in the future to redeem ourselves in this area.

We were in sparta to see friends and booked a room here. Checking in was fast, professional and staff very amicable. Our king room was very spacious with a chair and footstool, bed comfortable. Bathroom was quite adequate. Breakfast was pretty decent, too. Scrambled eggs, sausages, ham slices, hash, potatoes and biscuits and gravy. They also has Belgium waffles and a pancake machine that automatically made hotcakes that were delivered to your plate. Not to mention the juice, coffee, fruit, breads, etc. One of the better hotel breakfasts I have seen. Definitely recommend this place. Only reason I gave it 4 stars, there were Japanese beetles in the room (4) that we killed. When we opened window, there were a few more.

Great rate, friendly staff. Clean & comfortable. Many selections on the free breakfast including an automatic pancake maker & make your own waffle station Extra pool for those travellng with young children. Main pool also had a slide & the hot tub was not huge but worked for us. We were happy that the restaurant/bar was on the premises. Would definitely recommend this Lodge.

We always stay here when we are close to Sparta.Very close to Camp McCoy. Nice bar on site! Motel is recently remodeled, with new furniture, carpet, etc. A very nice motel to stay at for a reasonable price!

We booked our stay months ago in preparation for Cranberry Fest which is 30(ish) minutes away from the hotel. We were surprised to see the hotel looked nothing like the photos. Our room was up-to-date and beautiful! The staff was fabulous and extremely helpful. We ate at the restaurant inside - if you love Bloody Mary's they are fabulous here! The pool area was perfect for adults and children and also has a sauna. The free breakfast was great - they had waffles, pancakes, eggs, sausage, ham and pastries. They also have free wifi. We would, without a doubt, stay here again!

Brewski's does have one of the best tasting Bloody Mary's I have had, so I am glad you enjoyed that area of the hotel along with the breakfast that we provide. Very friendly staff. Rooms were clean. Breakfast buffet kept full and clean. We stayed at this hotel on an event weekend and very pleased with the whole hotel experience. Hope to stay there next year.

Clean facility. Gracious & helpful staff. Very comfortable bed. Hot & strong-pressure shower (although I prefer a lower spout) Excellent breakfast buffet included. The coffee TASTED like coffee, as in NOT watered down! We did not take advantage of pool & hot tub, but they looked very inviting. The receptionist offered, as well, that we might take our bikes into our rooms. Gracious staff, 'drawing' on local maps--coming & going! I just wish it was a bit less expensive for such a short stay.

We enjoyed our stay. The hotel was clear and quiet. The pool area was one of the nicer and bigger ones we've been too. We did eat at their restaurant and we all enjoyed our food. We went early on Sunday and it wasn't busy at first but it did get busier. The server kept up even though she was by herself. We would stay here again it was a very nice hotel.

I have stayed at this hotel multiple times and have never had a bad experience yet. The convenience of having a bar and restaurant on the premises is wonderful. The breakfast was hot and delicious, the dinner in the restaurant was perfect and the comfort of the bed was the topping on the cake. It is close to Fort McCoy which is where I was working so the location is perfect. Every stay here is a reminder of why I choose Best Western over any other hotel brand when I have the choice.

The Best Western is in the process of a remodel to become a BW Plus. We were in one of the older rooms and it wasn't really a plus level room. We toured a room being remodeled and it will be very nice. However, the beds were comfortable, the room and bathroom clean, and the breakfast adequate in a fairly large breakfast room. The hotel has a small restaurant if you don't want to travel for dinner and it has well prepared reasonable food and from our experience is one of the better restaurants in town. We enjoyed our stay. The indoor pool area looked like lots of fun for a family.

Stayed here one night, overall was disappointed in the room. Outdated, extreme lack of electrical plug ins, mold in bathroom shower area. for good points, the staff did make a price adjustment that was more than fair and it appears they are in the process of updating the rooms.

Arrived late, checked in quickly & easily. Comfortable clean rooms for a much needed good nights sleep. Lots of options for free breakfast before getting back on the road (good pancakes:)! Would love to stay sometime to explore the bike trails!

Practically new, would stay again! Was only on property 10 hours and it was not full. Room was comfortable, had to turn on A/C but cooled off fine. King bed was great. Had microwave and refrig which come in handy. Close to highway. Could not send phone text messages via wifi, but laptop had no problem accessing internet, go figure, so sent with Facebook messenger instead no problem.

Good sized room. WI-FI was good. Clean room. Helpful staff. We traveled on 9/6 from South Bend , Indiana. and arrived during a thunderstorm. More rain expected today. Driving thru Chicago at 3 PM was five lanes of slow traffic.

My wife enjoyed a nice bike ride along the Elroy Sparta trail. We arrived totally wiped out. When we checked in the lady at the front desk mentioned they had a room with a whirlpool tub. We enjoy a nice dinner and a tall drink in the bar. Finished up a great day.

This has been our favorite place to stay in Sparta for years. The staff is friendly and the manager is outstanding. They are undergoing some upgrades and the results are beautiful - new furniture, carpeting, headboards, vanities, and more. Even the artwork on the walls is new and incorporates the local area. Recommended to anyone planning a trip to Sparta.

The hotel is set conveniently off of highway 90 and is only a quick 5 min away from the Bicycle Capital of America....Sparta WI. The staff is friendly and will help you with any information you need. The facility is complete with all the necessary amenities a business traveler may need.

Incredible and friendly staff. This hotel takes care of you and is very Military Friendly. Have stayed here so many times over the past years and always enjoy seeing them. Its feels like family The Restaurant and bar located in the hotel has great staff and wide range of Adult (beer) selections for your enjoyment.

The kids really loved the pool (3.5 and 1.5 years old). The hotel was very clean and our room was nice. The burgers from the bar/lounge on the main floor were really good too (that coming from someone who likes Nebraska beef :).) I would definitely stay here again.

I drive a motor coach and brought soldiers from the Iowa National Guard in Perry, Iowa. We stayed Friday and Saturday night at the hotel after dropping the soldiers off at Fort McCoy for their shooting certification. The hotel was very clean, the room was clean, staff at the hotel were very helpful. They have a small restaurant called Brewster's. All five drivers ate their Friday and Saturday nights. Very reasonably priced. The property is very easy on and off from I90. Close to convenience store; very nice place to stay. Thumbs up!!

Nice hotel, pool area was nice with a slide and separate children's pool and hot tub, rooms were fine, beds comfortable. Nothing around it really. Restaurant was a very very long wait for pizzas. Slightly frustrating after a day of traveling.

We got a wonderful nights sleep in a very comfortable bed, Wi Fi worked great, nice shower, clean large sized rooms, good complimentary breakfast choices, easy pleasant check-in. Priced well for the quality of this property. Exercise room, 2 pools and safe neighborhood to go for a walk. Couldn't ask for much more!!

Hotel is currently in the process of updating. We stayed in one of the rooms that had not been updated yet, but it was still very nice. Good bed; mini fridge and microwave; nice roomy bathroom with good shower and towels. Since the bike storage room was not available due to the remodeling, we were given a corner room and took the bikes to the room. It was HUGE! There was plenty of room for the bikes and still left a ton of floor space. We didn't use the pool area but peeked in - cute water slides for kids and a roomy hot tub. Breakfast provided decent choices. Definitely pleased with our stay.

tried to stay in Lacrosse but the Best Western there was full so I tried this one. never stayed here before. Everything was great. the lady checking me in was very pleasant. the guy running the lounge/restaurant was very accommodating and friendly. He recommended the pizza and it was very good. the breakfast the next morning was one of the best I have had

When my husband and I visit family in Sparta we always stay at the best Western Plus Sparta Trail Lodge The rooms have recently been remodeled and the beds are very comfortable. they have a nice pool area including a kiddle pool and a whirlpool. The breakfast is really very good - includes several hot items- eggs, omelets, potatoes, ham, pancakes and waffles as well as cereal, yogurt and fruit. The staff is friendly and accommodating We enjoy our stays there..

Clean and comfortable, Friendly competent staff, nice little pub and easy location convenient to Sparta and highway but no highway noise good spot to stop past Lacrosse to continue your trip, I stay here 2-3 times per month

Family event and multiple rooms rented. pool is a plus. rooms are not bad... breakfast added pancakes to the waffle selection. Good improvement. Hot breakfast options leave a little to be desired.Staff is friendly but late nite staff is a little slow

This motel was very clean, efficient and helpful. The rooms are in good shape and for the most part up to date. Location very good just off of I-90. Breakfast was very good- lots of choices. We stayed on a Sunday night so it was very quiet.

Very efficient and helpful. Rooms are great. Bath rooms are very clean and up tp date. Brewsters restaurant was very good. Had pulled pork sandwich with fries and slaw. Nice to be able to eat without having to drive somewhere

Up to date decor & furnishings in excellent condition. Hotel was clean & had the sanitized/bagged tv remote control. Towels thicker type, continental breakfast was more then that, with fried potatoes, biscuits & gravy, scrambeled eggs, cheese omelets, waffles, and pancakes made fresh with automated pancake maker. Had all the other items you also find on a regular continental breakfast too. Swimming pool & hot-tub were beautiful with soothing water & air temperatures. A nice bar was stocked also. Parking was ample. Great week night price of $89!!

I'd been dissatisfied with another chain motel in the area, and so I tried this one, which was clean, comfortable, with a great bar and grill so I didn't have to go back out into the heat for a meal, and an all-around great stay! The rooms are comfortable, and smoke-house sandwiches are great, and the staff is friendly and very helpful!

Nice stay. Clean rooms. Mini fridge, coffee maker free wifi. Workout room was ok. The elliptical should be replaced. The bike was average. I chose to run outside instead of use the treadmill. The breakfast was good. I loaded up on eggs ham potatoes and gravy. Reasonable prices at $89.

We stayed here when we bike the Elroy Sparta bike trail with my husbands parents and his sister's family. We have 4 children ages 10-5. This hotel was perfect for our group! The continental breakfast was lacking and the hotel restaurant for supper wasn't great. I think you could pack better food than what they serve at the breakfast, and the supper atmosphere just wasn't what we were looking for. However, that isn't why you stay in a hotel. The rooms were comfortable, the pool area was excellent, and the staff was friendly and best of all efficient! The recommended some great places to eat (even though I had researched already!). Their recommendations were on par with what you will find on Trip Advisor. All in all, can't wait to stay again! We already have it booked for this July 2016!

I have been staying here for work for the past 5 years now. This hotel has always stayed "Up to date" in my book. The rooms always clean, the front desk staff recognizes me whether I check in at 3pm or midnight. This last time I was able to stay in a newly renovated room (yes the first person to stay in a new room was a treat). The bar and grill (Brewski's) is not your typical hotel food. The food is amazing and I actually look forward to eating there. Once again the staff in the bar remember me by name when I visit. The pool area is quite large and has a couple smaller slides for kids. The hottub is pretty large as well. This hotel is right off the interstate and VERY quiet. It makes for a great night of sleep! I cannot say enough about how much I look forward to staying here.

the hotel is easy to get to off the interstate. The staff and very helpful and friendly. The appearance of the hotel was well maintained and clean. The breakfast was ok. We were there 30 minutes before it ended and the hot food was over cooked and since we were the only two there nothing was restocked. It all tasted good considering it is included.

Nice hotel with great swim area, available year round. Good breakfast choices. Very clean with a wonderful staff. Highly recommended. Right off the interstate. We make a trip to this area often and always book here.

We grew weary from a long day and settled for Sparta vs LaCrosse and it turned out great.The price was reasonable,the staff very polite and proffesional and the GM is what GMs should be,proffesional but remembering they are in the hospitality bussiness. They have a little bar resteraunt that was lots of fun for some weary from the road guests.The rooms were clean and comfy and we slept like babies.Its in a quiet area before you even enter Sparta and off the highway.

They are friendly & helpful. My brother has health issues and they REALLY help him when he stays there as well. They also have a little restaurant /bar area in the evening. HAve great food and great service! I will definitely stay there again. They are also pet friendly.

Beds were so comfortable and one of the cleanest places I stayed in Located in the middle of no where but yet close to towns. Pool area was very nice. Breakfast was okay like every where else The staff was great. Really enjoyed for a night over in Sparta Wisconsin area. Nice country setting.

We always stay @ Sparta Trail lodge when we are in the area. Staff is always friendly-Rooms are clean and reasonable. I see they are upgrading the rooms at this time. Food in lounge is good and priced reasonable. A nice place to stay inSparta!!

Love this hotel. The staff is outstanding at service and love all the amenities it offers. The pool is great for smaller children. Love the new menu at Brewski's, the food is fabulous. Would highly recommend to anyone.

First, I would like to say the owner of the attached restaurant was the nicest person there and also this place doesn't deserve the plus in it's title (I've been to regular Best Westerns and better experiences). Now the computer room was alright but it's a small room with 2 computers and an ATM (why they don't have it by the bar is a good question). They do have a fitness center but the elliptical is rusty and in need of repair for it clicks when you use it. Also when in the fitness room expect every member off staff to walk by and look at you while you are in the fitness center. The pool area was ok. They have a slide for the little ones. The hot tub has a leak in it and by 9:00pm the hot tub but be down like a foot of water and every morning/afternoon (of my 5 day stay) I was unable to sit in the hot tub because either they were filling it or it wasn't up to temp. If you went to the hot tub at night there were several people drinking at the hot tub and when the staff was alerted they did nothing to stop them (even though they have signs saying no alcohol in pool area). The breakfast offered is extensive but not if you are watching what you eat. The eggs were burned, the ham sat in a soda solution and the gravy for the biscuits and gravy lacked flavor....the best thing about their breakfast was the coffee with flavored creamer. Now for the room. The bathroom had very dirty baseboard and the floor was pretty gunky too (needs a good scrubbing). The headboards had smudges and streaks all over them. The wallpaper on the outer wall was peeling up. The handle to move the window curtains kept falling off. The closet was so small that the hangers had a hard time staying on the rod when you used the hangers. Lastly, when my family called to be connected to my room they were greeted with a rude, unfriendly attendant. This place was terrible and because of that I wish Leonidas were alive to kick this place in to the Spartan pit where it belongs.

we drove 3 miles to get to the hotel everything was great and the pool area was top notch for our 4 y/o daughter who had a blast. we may just do it again soon..... more words more words more words is that 200 yet more words more words.

Overall, my stay was pleasant and I would stay there again. However, I called the front desk two times for assistance and no one answered. When I walked up their, the staff member was sitting there on their cell phone (irrigating). Second, I thought our room smelled like smoke. However, overall we were happy and we will stay there again.

always a welcome home away from home. Management here does a great job of updates. Lounge is handy and food there is good. Overall this is always a good place to stay in the Sparta Area. The pricing is fair and the motel is very clean.

I stay in Sparta monthly for work and I've tried all the hotels in town. So far Best Western is better than the rest. Rooms are nice and clean even have a TV in the bathroom. Hot breakfast with an OK bar / restaurant on site. I haven't used the pool but it looks decent size with a slide. If I was going to stay in Sparta I would try this hotel

An unexpected, and fairly unpleasant situation landed my three children and I at the Best Western in Sparta. I mistakenly thought I had chosen the most family friendly hotel in town. The Front Desk Attendant who checked us in, and was working the following a.m., was a manager I believe. How someone with a complete lack of customer service skills landed such a position is beyond me!! She allowed us to check in early but her irritation was evident. I asked for a comb for my son later in the stay and was, once again, treated as an inconveniece. When I pay more than the value of a room on a Wednesday night in the off-season I certainly don't expect to be treated poorly. As the former Front Desk Manager of a comparable hotel, I was outraged! Being accommodating and making the guest comfortable should be number one. What's worse is that the woman who worked the desk Wed. night was equally rude, at one point questioning whether I was even a guest! The one bright spot of my stay was my housekeeper, whose name I never did get (whoever was assigned rm. 331 on 2/11). She was an absolute delight. When housekeeping staff is better at customer service than Front Desk staff there is a problem. We were still unable to return home Thursday and would have paid for a 2nd night if treated correctly. But, Super 8 will be getting our business tonight and hopefully we won't be treated as an inconvenience.

This Best Western hotel was GREAT! We enjoyed our stay. The pool area was great. There was a nice restaurant/bar there and the exercise room was nice too. Bed was comfortable too which is always good & the shower was great too! No complaints on anything!

From the time you enter the property, you can tell the quality of the stay is there. The location is close to the expressway, makes it easy to locate. The staff could not do enough to make you feel welcome. We will stay here again in the future. Thanks to the entire staff at the Sparta Best Western Plus,

We have family in Sparta and were so happy to have found the Best Western Plus Sparta Trail here. John at the front desk is always helpful and friendly. The rooms are comfortable and the pool area is so nice for families- a children's area, a whirlpool, an adult swim area and also a sauna. There are plenty of tables to sit and enjoy the nice brightly painted areas. The breakfast is just a step above the normal- they have added a pancake maker and have lots of hot choices and also fresh fruit. The seating area is also very nice and if it gets too crowded- they open the adjacent lounge seating. We enjoy coming to this hotel.

This Best Western continues to be the only place we stay at when visiting Sparta! The manager, John, was personable and helpful. Our room, as always, was an excellent value. The breakfast selection continues to be broad and now includes a pancake maker, which is new (and fun) and a nice addition. We will definitely stay at this location the next time we are in the area.

Nice, clean and comfortable. We stayed over a week and about the 3rd night had very noisy neighbors in next room, we requested to move them or us, Manager said they had checked out and then he blocked off rooms on both sides of us for the rest of our stay. That was awesome. Takes large dogs(70-80#) and only charges 20/a day for them, and tops out at $100 so if you have a long stay you don't incur more charges. Breakfast had a large selection of hot and cold items only downside was that the breakfast items were the same every day(scrambled eggs, biscuits and sausage gravy, potatoes, some type of canned ham, waffles and pancakes). It's not a big deal if you're only staying a couple of days, and there is a large selection of items, so you can alternate items. Overall this is a great place to stay and would gladly stay here again.

Staff was friendly and very helpful. Pool area was clean and a great area for families and kids of all ages. Room was clean and comfortable. Thoroughly enjoyed that their were two televisions in the room. The bathroom was nice, clean and spacious. The breakfast buffet was very good! Large variety and good selection. The mattress on the bed was not very comfortable.

This place is definitely Great value. The staff was very friendly and very accommodating. The kids loved the pool. The breakfast was in line with other hotel breakfasts. We will definitely stay here again.

Very nice hotel. Pool, jacuzzi and sauna are very nice. Hotel is quiet. Would definitely stay here again. Stayed at all the other hotels at one time or another in Sparta and this one was tops. A great value for the price.

Always stay here when I am in town on business. Rooms are clean and well appointed, microwave and fridge. Breakfast is excellent, can meet low carb regimens. Always have a local paper and USA today. Very good fitness center and nice pool with hot tub. Good restaurant in hotel and decent one next door. Staff always helpful

Outstanding staff and great location for a stay in the Ft. McCoy area. I have traveled to this area for the last 3 years and the Best Western Sparta Trail Lodge by far has the best for location and amenities.

I do business with Fort McCoy and the Best Western Sparta Trail Lodge is not only located right near the gate, but it is a very nice property to stay at. It is so nice to have a hotel that's all inclusive. Pool, hot tub, fitness center, and an on site restaurant and lounge. Top that off with a bed you don't want to leave and a very quiet room and you have a great place to stay. I was there last weekend and will be next weekend as well. I don't even consider another hotel when I visit Sparta. Highly recommended!

We stayed 2 nights during our Sparta-Elroy bike trip. Was a very convenient place to stay with comfortable and quiet rooms just a short distance outside the city. The onsite restaurant was a welcome convenience, the food was good and the waitstaff was outstanding. The only drawback on this particular visit was there must've been a kid convention in the area because the pool and hot tub was extremely noisy all the time - even when we tried to go in the early morning. We will stay there again but try and make our trip during the week.

This hotel is very close to the Sparta end of the Sparta-Elroy bike trail. The hotel was very clean. Breakfast is free but you need to get up early to enjoy. There is a bar on the premises that serves food so you cannot bring in your own food or beverage due to Wisconsin state laws. (Note: The bar does not open until 4:00, even on college or pro football days!) The room was spacious but we had a difficult time getting the room to cool down. The pool area was very nice and great if you have kids. The staff was adamant about no early check-in because needed to get the paper work/guest rooms organized first.

Was looking for a good hotel in Sparta when we were looking at the fall colors in Wisconsin. This was very convenient being right off of the I system. Hotel was easy and fast to check in, clean, quiet and had a great breakfast. All of this when apparently the electricity was off in Sparta from 100 am to 500 pm because a squirrel ate some wires at the electrical station. It seemed like everything was shut down in Sparta because of the outage. Even when this was going on, they were helpful and friendly. I would use this hotel again. Beds were especially comfortable.

This is a great hotel to stay at! The service was excellent with delicious breakfast. I loved the pool area! It had two water slides (one in a kiddy pool and the other in a regular size pool), and a hot tub. I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel.

A very quiet, beautiful and extremely comfortable hotel. You do not want to get out of the bed. Great restaurant and lounge. Exceptional service in the lounge. I was there on business so a good nights sleep is very important to me. I never heard a sound while in my room. I will definitely visit again.

Visiting family in the area so we decided to try this hotel. Loved it. Rooms were clean and quiet. Staff was friendly. Pool area needs a little routine maintenance but nothing major, everything in working order. Complimentary breakfast was honestly one of the best I have had in a hotel. Coffee was really good and they have an automatic pancake making machine, which if you are into that sort of thing, is pretty awesome. Hotel is a short drive to everything in town too.

over priced rooms. Although great staff, they went out of their way to make the stay good. nice clean quiet rooms. Slow elevator was annoying. Breakfast was pleasant and selection was what was expected with the addition of all the toppings for the fresh pancakes and waffles. the breakfast area was kept stocked and clean.

Hotel was very convenient to a wedding in the area. Showerheads are located too high, could not adjust. Staff was very friendly and helpful in giving directions. Beautiful scenery any time of the year.

It is an ideal place to stay! The breakfast selection is one of the best we have ever enjoyed at a Best Western Plus facility.
