Best Western Malmia Hotel

The hotel is very centrally located with a large selection of restaurants nearby. The service was impeccable as was the breakfast restaurant (unfortunately no juice). Our hotel room was very small. One long side of the bed was against the wall. The hotel has a (very cramped) garage.

Its a nice hotell close to everything , There is only à small lobby with some sandwhiches and drinks, breakfast is ok, Room cleaning is nice, you can go gym to stadshotellet because its the same owner.

A Best Western at a great location. The hotel is simple but clean. Parking was a bit of a hassle. Parking is located beneath the hotel and an office building. You need to reserve a parking space, otherwise you will have a challenge with parking. The beds were comfy and the breakfast was fresh and complete.

Hotel Malmia was perfect. We were in town for 5 days, and the stay was really great. The rooms were clean, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was great. There's even hot-tub access on the roof which was amazing. I'd definitely recommend it!

Placed in the heart of Skellefteå close to the ongoing building Sara Kulturhus. Close to everything! Rooms quite small and average breakfast. The best thing is the location but nothing special, ok for short stayings.

Sometimes I ask myself how star-ratings are set, however this was what I expected of a three star with a bit of an extra. The breakfast was good, the comfort of the bed was good and there was a water-boiler for coffee. Over all a good three star hotel.

The location may sound good on paper, but in practice it's almost impossible to reach. Driving by car you don't see any sign of the hotel. You can't park anywhere near the hotel -- the very few spots nearby seem to be always taken. We were told we could drive in front of the hotel to leave off luggage, but it doesn't really look like it. It's a pedestrian plaza. The hotel in theory has a garage but we were told there is no space. The place is clean and well maintained but its glory days seem to have been in the 80s. The shower in the room looks like someone's idea of a joke: in a space that is too small for a shower at least by half, they put two identical showers side by side. Breakfast was diverse, fresh and tasty. However it is laid out a bit unfortunately in a cramped corner so there was a long queue to it. Staff seemed to be caught off guard by the number of guests, things were constantly running out and staff tried to put in more through the queue. City view turned out to be rusty tin roofs and ventilation housings in a variety of styles.

The room was fine, internet great and the location pretty close to everything in this city, 3 blocks away from the bus station. Service very good, breakfast ok, I think is good hotel for business trips. The elevator was a bit old, but functional, the doors are opened manually which is a bit difficult with luggage.

The hotel is getting a bit outdated but perfectly acceptable. WE got upgraded to a larger room but I call that room an average room. The location is perfect right on the central square. Close to shopping and restaurants.

Great location and very easy to get to from the main highway and airport. The staff are always friendly and efficient. The hotel rooms are small with basic amenities, but clean and comfortable. Parking at the hotel is tight!

I have stayed at this hotel frequently over the past two years. The location is perfect, right in the center of the village and a short walk to shops and restaurants. The airport bus stops on the corner. The price is reasonable by Swedish standards. The rooms are small and in dire need of a renovation. The beds are sagging in the middle. The restaurant is mediocre. I have put up with these short comings in the past. But now they have removed an important service: the lobby is not staffed 24 hours. I exited the hotel this morning to check on the bus schedule, forgot my key and could not get back into the hotel. I had to wait until another early rising guest came down to the lobby. That's the last visit for me.

Having not visited Skellefteå before it was nice to stop in the centre of town and this hotel was on the square. The room was very nice with a twin shower than I hadn't seen before. The breakfast was nice and filling. I will be back in the future.

Hotel is centrally located, with quite a few restaurants and pubs within easy walking distance. Rooms are clean, spacious enough, beds are comfortable. Breakfast is quite varied. But staff is scarce although helpful and courteous enough.

Nice hotel located in the city center. Easy walking distance to the pedestrian shopping street and well as to restaurants. Travel Bureau less than a half block away gives all the information you need to enjoy the city.

Have stayed here a few times. It is in heart of the town. Easy walk to shops. Coffee shop turn left and right down high street on the left. Bishops Arms next door does some good food. Breakfast is good.

Bang in the middle of the city. Easy to get there by airport bus that stops at the town square. Good breakfast. Friendly staff. On the downside. A bit worn down. Tiny rooms (at least the one we got) If location is more important than comfort.

This is located centrally with a sports bar! My single room was small, spotless and adequate. The staff were very helpful and friendly! Squeezing my own orange juice at breakfast was a plus! The restaurant was closed on a Monday evening, but there were several takeaways close by!

We stayed only for one night at this older hotel. Rooms were bit outdated, but there was nothing to complain about. There were no noises and the beds were nice, so we slept well. Breakfast had a lot to choose from and everything was fresh. The hotels location could not be better as it stands at the center of the city. Though the parking hall was expensive and the parking lots there were the tiniest I've seen, so it was quite a job to get our suv into a lot.

It's an older hotel, but rooms are up to date and clean. Decent sized space and friendly-enough staff that speak English. The location is great in the middle of town, and some rooms overlook the square. There are block out curtains, which is important with the midnight sun, but they don't seal completely, so watch out if you're a light sleeper. Also the rooms are always hot without much chance to cool off or lower the temperature. For a hotblooded person like me, that makes it uncomfortable! But overall it's not bad. Breaky is good and the wifi is fast. And best of all, it's an easy stumble home from the pub!

Staying for 4 nights i already knew this hotel as ive stayed in Skellftea before. On arrival there hads been a power cut and all the computer booking systems had gone down, no problem i sat in the reception and waited.I was offered a coffee and water from the very helpful receptionist. When i did get to my room ( double )it was clean and a good size. A little dated but perfectly functional. Sleeping was a little difficult due to the time of year and lack of darkness, but ive experienced that many times and brought my eye mask. The room was a little too hot for me and when opening the window it was noisy, it is right in the center, so i couldnt complain about that. Breakfast gave us a wide selection, both hot and cold. the normal continental options and various meats. Eggs and sausage with crispy bacon if you wished and the coffee was freely available. Overall, a comfy stay and would return when im back in Skelleftea

A full week of travel and a trip to the far north. Its good to get a warm welcome - and even better to find helpful staff on reception - especially when you are working and have to prepare, eat, and find your way around in a strange town. A good breakfast, a 'good enough' room and really good advice from reception staff made my stay way better than it might have been. This is by no means a five star place - and will no doubt get a refurb in the next couple of years - however the staff were brilliant and that will my memory of Skellefteå. Great people doing their best in a less than perfect location.

Centrally located. Old furniture and very basic comfort. Tv has screen problems, almost no electric plugs. Sad decoration and gloomy ambiance. Watch out for the extremely narrow parking lot. The staff at the front desk is helpful.

I have stayed at this hotel on three different visits this year and am always pleased. It is a simple and unpretentious hotel. The rooms are small and the entire hotel could use a facelift. But the location on the main square in the village is very convenient and the rooms are priced fairly. There are tea pots and coffee service available in the rooms. the breakfast buffet is huge with high quality local food. The staff all speak excellent English and are very helpful. If you arrive at Skellefteå Airport, you will see a bus in front of the terminal. Hop on this and save the $50 cab fare. The bus stops right beside the main square 10 meters from the hotel.

Directly on the center square in Skellefteå. Quiet, no luxury, great value for the money. Nice helpful reception staff. Somewhat old rooms, but good sleeping quality. Adequate breakfast. Allstar restaurant at first floor. Recommend the restaurant "Bryggaregatan" 300 m away, instead, must be the best in Skellefteå.

Situated by the main square, in the midst of Skellefteå. Reliable, kind service. Tidy small rooms, good beds. Quiet, unless your room views the square weekend nights. Hearty breakfast with some exciting nice features. Unfortunately I found the boiled eggs quite cold. Nevertheless I recommend this hotel even though I find it a bit pricey.

Very handy in the middle of town, with lots of choice of shops and restaurants nearby. Staff all really helpful and spoke perfect English. Good choice of stuff for breakfast included in the price. Only downside on our midsummer visit was the noise - we overlooked the square at the front of the hotel and there were lots of people around until very late/early. In 20/20 hinsight, would have preferred a room at the back; not realy the hotel's fault!

within 10-15 mins from the airport, lots of shops, can find a supermarket just opposite the hotel, quiet hotel, they have a sports bar on the 2nd level, breakfast was simple, staff was really friendly, a smoke free hotel, have good signal of WiFi in room, quite a number of restaurant within the hotel, a cinema just beside the hotel, in the evening there will be trailers selling good food in the open space just outside the hotel. I would stay here if i visit Skelleftea again.

This hotel is in a great location and is ok. The rooms are a good size and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The bathroom in our room was very old and in need of a well over due make over. The shower door was broken and the shower leaked out all over the floor.

Stayed here again last week for 3 nights. Rooms are basic, but ok. Although at my first stay there was no drinks facilities in the room, this time there was. I'd suggest you ask if you take a room that is lacking these essentials. All the staff speak English (as it seems does everyone) and the welcome & service I received were both great. The hotel has its own bar where food can also be purchased, never tried the food myself, but the bar's ok! Breakfast is good if you like continental, but pretty basic is you're after an English which in reality is scrambled eggs & bacon, with some sort of sausage option available. Had this at all my stays and although there's nothing wrong with it. A bit more variety of cooked options would be nice. The Hotel is in the centre of Skelleftea and less than 30 minutes from the Airport. There is a really good pub, the Bishop Arms less than 50 yards away, the food there is both varied & palatable. The Malmia is fine for a business trip or maybe a stop off location, but not really suited for a holiday experience of a longer duration.
