passed the white sock test. carpet did not leave my white socks black. do not approve of credit card being charged before I checked in. used bestwestern gift cards to pay for room. good location and was not noisy.

Reservation: Do reserve in advance. Staff even called us the day of check-in and confirmed we're we keeping reservation. Very professional. Hotel was full. Very nice hotel, looks well kept and maintained. Easy to find and good location. Microwave, refrigerator, Iron, Ironing board, hair dryer and makeup mirror (although mirror was old and did not light up—needs replacement). WiFi free, nice TV a good variety of channels except The Weather Channel which was actually CSpan. Two room cards but only one worked. Charming balcony on third floor and yes elevator worked great. Large rooms. Cleanliness. Very clean rooms. Minor cosmetic work needed, bathroom door sticks and hard to close and needed fresh paint. Tub and shower needed some grout cleaning and repair in the corner of floor and tub. However, hall carpets need a deep cleaning or outright replacement. Breakfast was pick up and take back to room (still under pandemic cautions). Basic, juice, muffins, coffee, waffle, instant oatmeal, good, but not outstanding. I would stay again.

"Stay Away From this Hotel"

We booked this hotel in advance, we should have read more reviews and here is why. 1. I went inside to check in, got my room key, parked and went upstairs to our room, the door to our room was unlocked, it had the safety latch in the door to stay open. No staff person was around the area, I also noticed the room next to us was open, I have never gone to any hotel where your room door was unlocked and open. Who knows who or what was done to the room. 2. Upon checking out our room my wife did not see any wash clothes in the bath area, nor under the sink. I called down to the desk talked with Steve. Was told there was a shortage of wash cloths, and he would give us more hand towels. Was not happy with that, have you ever used a hand towel to wash your face or use in the shower. 3. The water handle for the shower was very loose as well. Upon checking out I asked to talk to the manager, Renee, I told her about the door lock issue, she looked kind of like I don't think this should have happened, then I talked to her about the wash cloth issue and she just made excuse's about the owner and how they were trying to purchase more wash cloths. She also asked if Steve gave us any, I said no, she told me there were some in the wash area. Not sure who is telling the truth about this but in my case this was not ok. She said she would adjust our room price and she did it went from 249. to 239. I looked at her and asked 10.00 wow was told she would have to check with the owner. Just more issues that concern me is the carpet in the hallway and the rooms was not cleaned at all, you could tell it has not been vacuumed in weeks. WE WOULD NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL EVER AGAIN

From the pre arrival phone call confirming what time we would be there, to the check-in, cleanliness of the room and comfort of the mattress, breakfast and check-out. We were very impressed. It was quiet, the view of the bay and Lake Michigan were amazing. We will definitely be back and can't recommend this place enough.

The room and bathroom were spacious. Nice patio as well. A short distant to all the local attractions. They even had limo service so you don't have to drive and find parking. Hearty breakfast as well.
