SureStay Plus Hotel by Best Western Keyser, Keyser

A very nice, newer hotel in Keyser. It is offset quite a bit from the main road, so make sure thaf you pay attention to navigation. The queen bed room was European style, meaning that the room is cozy size. You really couldnt get more than 2 people in the room. The staff were very helpful. When we requested a one hour late check-out, they were able to accommodate. Stay away from rooms near the lift (elevator). We were woken repeatedly overnight by drunk (or maybe high) guests who decided to have a little party (and then argument) outside the lift. When they went into their room (immediately next to ours) you could faintly hear them.

A very clean hotel, good breakfast excellent staff.This is a pet friendly hotel and we were able to get a late check out if needed. The outside area included a grill and plenty of seating with a fire pit. What more could you ask for.

My only complaint with this hotel was a billing issue. We booked our room through the Best Western app, and were using our points. We were supposed to have a free night. After checking out, my wife noticed that we had been charged. After a couple of phone calls we got it straightened out. We would definitely stay again.

I can't say enough about this hospitality group! Incredibly accommodating and super friendly staff. It attracts a quieter atmosphere, but plenty of staff around :) This is by far one of the greatest places to sleep and do business in Morgan County!

The room was just what we were looking for, as my wife is handicapped. The town is limited in the way of restaurants, like everywhere else these days. So our rides in the area were the high point of our trip. We have witnessed the beauty of West Virginia mountains many times over the years, and this was no exception.

We stayed for a wedding and the beds were comfortable, the staff was nice and accommodating. Everything was very clean despite there being a shortage of staff. These guys worked really hard to make sure everything was taken care of. We had an enjoyable and comfortable stay.

Hotel was very clean & the staff polite and helpful. Beds were comfortable, rooms quiet. Nice seating area behind hotel with fire pit & grill. Had a continental breakfast available. Will definately stay again!

Very clean and quiet hotel. Staff greeted us and was very nice when we checked in. The lobby is nice and welcoming. Our room was very clean, had wood flooring in main area and tile in the bathroom. Beds were so comfortable - we slept like babies after a long day of driving. Would stay here again.

Trip to Blackwater Falls. Beds and pillows comfy. Had one towel with dirt or stains and it was promptly exchanged. Packaged food, fruit, and juice available for breakfast. Staff was polite and helpful.

I think either the room was recently renovated or freshly painted because the smell was way too strong. I had to run the AC all night to try and keep the smell from settling. This unfortunately led to a dry throat and cough the next day. The hotel should have aired out the room much better before opening it up for occupancy. Other than that the staff were very friendly and the hotel was clean and in a good location. One word of caution, the tub was extremely slippery.

We made reservations online several days before arrivals d received email confirmation. Check-in by Susan was quick and very efficient. She was so pleasant. The room was very clean. The HVAC worked efficiently and quietly. There two minor drawbacks. The room was located on the ground floor next to the stairs, which my significant other said was somewhat noisy. The second thing was several troublesome gnats in the room. The general manager, Nichol (yes, that is the correct spelling) too care of our checkout. She said she had noticed gnats in the lobby area on occasion and planned to address the issue with the exterminator who services the hotel. She was such a pleasant person. She possess a customer-friendly attitude. There was a glitch at checkout having to do with the expiration date of my credit card in the computer.she said that was the second time that happened and wasn't sure why. The place is updated, with flat screen TV, laminate floors. It was my first stay at a Best Western branded hotel. It was a wonderful experience.

Stayed one night as part of a West Virginia vacation. Several notes: The employees seemed to treat safety more important than other hotels we stayed at in West Virginia. The hotel seemed to be pretty clean including the room As far as breakfast - you could ask for basic packaged stuff like pancakes, muffins cereal and they would give it to you The front desk person was very friendly There was coffee in the lobby that you could use Overall, if you are looking for a safe/clean hotel with some packaged continental breakfast, a pretty good value. The hotel was on the more expensive side of other hotels we stayed at in West Virginia. Of note, when we went, most guess were still wearing masks in the hotel. But they did allow us to use public tables to eat breakfast at.

Very good. The front desk person was cheerful and helpful and the rooms were clean, beds and linens perfect and bathroom and towels clean. The only problem was that a mother guest let her young children play with their toys in the spa, so when they turned on the jets, the smaller of their toys were sucked into the motor and it was broken and couldn't be repaired until after I left the next day.

I stayed here for one night while on a motorcycle trip in May 2021, and had no trouble. The location is great: outside of town off the main highway, near a Walmart for easy shopping, and with dining options close by. I appreciated the hard-surface (and very clean) floors and spotless bathroom. Breakfast was just fine: a selection of grab-and-go items and frozen things that can be microwaved in your room, with tea and coffee in the lobby at all times. The staff I encountered were all professional and friendly.

The hotel was clean, the staff personable and helpful. It is by design a minimal size room but for one or two nights it is acceptable. They represent to Best Western chain well. It is the only chain hotel in the area. The others are locally owned so I avoid them since the quality and standards are not part of a national chain and therefore unknown.

My wife and I were pleasantly surprise! It was our 1st stay at a Sure Stay. A+ on everything! Highly recommend! If you are used to king beds, request a double queen...that was our ONLY surprise. Everything else was excellent! Rooms very clean; spacious; great lighting in room and bathroom; towels were awesomely fluffy; loved the bar area with bar stools, double desk area; NO carpet; and quiet rooms.

I believe I've reviewed this property before because we've stayed here before and had been very pleased. I suppose Covid has ruined a lot of things. The room wasn't as clean as in past experiences. I was very frustrated to crawl out of bed in the morning for a hot cup of coffee to find that the coffee maker has been removed. I do not understand how it can be considered more sanitary to have to go down to the lobby to get coffee from a coffee machine that every other hotel guest has touched than to use a coffee maker in a private room. In all my hotel stays during the pandemic only one other hotel has removed coffee makers. All others seem willing to clean in room coffee makers for the convenience of their guests. The room we stayed in also was noisy. This was not guest noise. The fan/vent in the bathroom would occasionally make clicking sounds which I could hear from my bed. I could never figure out where the other sounds came from but I suspect it must have been the mini fridge. Also, the driveway between Walmart and the hotel has been sadly neglected and it overgrown and unattractive.

If I could give a higher review I would, my family and I have been in the motel here since the beginning of Feb due to being homeless . We are being assisted by an organization that helps veterans and families that are homeless. The staff here has been beyond helpful . Shawn the maintenance man even brought my girls a sled from his home after the snow storm so they could get out and play. Susan at the front desk I'm pretty sure she slid a Walmart gift card under our door . We are beyond grateful for the kindness and generosity of the staff...

I stayed at Sure Stay located in Keyser WV on Nov 14th due to business. Upon entry, the desk clerk, Susan welcomed me with a huge smile that was partially hidden by a mask. lol. She checked me in very professionally, and quickly. The room was nice for this type of hotel. The only thing that was missing from other hotels was a coffee pot. The room was cozy, warm even when we had to endure a few minutes of an electrical outage due to high winds and a storm. The electric came back on within a couple of minutes and all was well. I had brought my dinner with me to eat in the room and asked Susan if there were any plates or utensils that I could use since I had forgotten to bring them with me. She was very helpful in that regards. Whatever I asked for, she saw that I got it. She was awesome the entire evening. I will surely stay there again if the need arises. Great customer service and nice accommodations for the price.

Toilet seat was noted to be broken upon check-in reported, but not fixed. Remote didn't work, reported, desk put new batteries in, still wouldn't turn tv on, so desk "reset" the TV w/ ink pen, but at bedtime remote wouldn't turn tv off, so we had to sleep with the TV on all night. Someone else's hair and whiskers all over back of bathroom sink. Plastic price tag pieces on top of one bedspread. In am at breakfast there were NO coffee cups, desk said they needed to send housekeeping to get some, never did bring any so had to return to room and retrieve a previously used cup in order to get a morning cup of coffee.

We stayed here for a couple of days while visiting the area for the train ride nearby in Romney. There are only 2 hotels in this town, so I closed my eyes and picked one of the 2 - they seemed similar. The room was average for a budget hotel. With Covid precautions, some things were different. I looked for the coffeemaker in the room as the website indicates there is one. I assume it was removed for sanitary purposes. No problem, I thought - I'll get coffee from the lobby where they had 2 thermos pots out. Nope, no coffee in the afternoon/evening. There's no housekeeping, so be prepared to go out to the lobby for everything you need. The room lighting is the old ultra white flourescent tubes - it made the small room seem less "homey" and more institutional. I needed to ask for breakfast items on the first morning - not just the "grab and go", but each item - juice, breakfast sandwich or cereal, milk. On the second morning, it was set out. Coffee was empty though - most of the time, the daytime attendant was outside on her phone. One of the washcloths was very dirty - as if it was used to clean or dust the room. They were pleasant and gave me another. The walls were paper thin, and we were kept awake both nights by people in the next room making a lot of noise - all through the night. With the hotel nearly empty (by the looks of the parking lot), I would have preferred that they spaced out the guests. None of these issues would prevent me from staying there again if we needed to - it wasn't awful - it's just disappointing that details are ignored, and that hotels are using covid as an excuse to provide a low standard of service. The staff members were very friendly though.

Rooms are clean and still look new, having just been remolded in the last year or so. Staff is nice and helpful. Located near a Walmart and other area attractions, a small place in a small town off the beaten trail.

This will be my third stay here and the gm Deborah was awesome at helping get me a great rate and very helpful answering any questions I had for her and it's nice having one that remembers you staying there.

My husband and I were in the area visiting family, as we do every year. We've checked-in at this hotel a few times before, always having a great experience! The staff at the SureStay Plus were very helpful and respectful; and it was a even better surprise when we found out most of them are new employees! - They seemed like they have worked there for years. The rooms are modern and cozy, even though they lack a few items due to Covid-19. We always ate-out for breakfast, but the staff offered breakfast bags and sandwiches for the morning. We will always return to this Best Western, as it's the best in the area! Thank you!

We enjoyed our stay and lots better breakfast offering than Holiday Inn we stayed at last month. People very nice and friendly had no problems and could relax. Lots in the area long with the Potomac Eagle Train Ride.

Came up for the weekend visiting friends and this place was a lovely stay for the weekend. The staff were very helpful and the room had everything I needed and was very clean. I was very comfortable here and would stay again. I especially enjoyed meeting Evan and Deborah at the front desk, they were kind and went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed. I love friendly faces at the door on my way coming and going daily :-)

When we have family gatherings in the area, this hotel is always our first choice. The hotel is very well maintained, clean, and the front desk is always friendly and accommodating to any needs we may have.

great experience at hotel - staff very pleasant and hotel very nice. Hiking in area and back and forth all day - staff always present and friendly. Building is very clean and the view from our room was beautiful.

This place is nestled away from the highway but it's right next to a Wal-Mart! The GM was very kind and professional. She was prompt and efficient. The Manager of the cleaning staff made a lasting impression and her staff cleaned the room I was staying in effectively! I would stay here again!

We happened upon this hotel while traveling through WV to see historic landmarks and waterfalls. The hotel is modern yet quaint, and so clean! The scenery is beautiful, and close to so many great attractions in WV. BUT! THE STAFF!! THEY ARE FANTASTIC! They are so nice and kind and hospitable!!!!!! From the front desk to the room attendants!!!! If you are ever traveling around Pittsburgh, DC, etc and are looking for a quiet, AMAZING place to stay...come here!!!!!!!

Traveling in the area for work and this is the nicest hotel in the immediately area. Breakfast was good, fresh and attendant was keeping resupplied. Coffee available 24/7 and the desk staff is very helpful and polite. This has become my regular choice when in the area.

The staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The breakfast area was well stocked and clean. My room itself was clean and comfortable. My only complaint was the noise when neighbors closed their doors loudly, but I'm not sure that is something that could be corrected without a complete remodel of the building.

My wife and I decided to stay here on our way to Charleston. We took the wrong turn off the interstate and ended up in Keyser. We originally wanted to drive a little further, but we both agreed that we wanted to call it a day and we stopped here. From start to finish, our hotel experience was excellent in every way. From the friendly staff, the reasonable rates, the clean rooms, and the well kept facility, there's no reason not to stay here. Our king room was clean and comfortable. The shower was hot and the water pressure was much better than most hotels we've been to. We might make another wrong turn just to end up here again. We will definitely be back

This hotel is clean and well-kept, and the staff is friendly. Price is good although I wish hotels were cheaper. Convenient to Walmart (always find myself there at least once) and to the hospital (luckily have never been).

I'm always a little leery of hotels in the middle of nowhere and I was dreading a business trip to West Virginia. It turned out to be an amazing journey with the beautiful mountains and the friendly people. Be sure to pack your camera! I was very happy with this hotel. It was very clean and the staff were all friendly and professional, especially the manager, Dee. There were great food choices nearby, including Castiglia's - a fabulous Italian eatery that had THE best eggplant. The servings are large enough to feed a family of four. Great trip.

We stayed at this hotel for a meeting. The staff could not have been any more helpful or friendly. The hotel itself had all the ammenities you could need while away from home. It was very clean and quiet. The breakfast was good and had multiple options. It is also very close to shopping amenties. I would definately recommend this hotel.

This was my first time staying at a SureStay. I was pleasantly surprised. The staff was great and the property met my expectations. The daily breakfast was good. The location is perfect for our needs when visiting WV.

The hotel was clean and well kept. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Keyser, WV. The only problems were hotel guests banging doors when leaving their rooms at night. This is just a disrespectful thing and not a hotel issue.

A stop on our way to Cass WV. We stopped here since we have used this hotel many times over the past 5 years. We have always found the property clean, the staff helpful and the breakfast very good (waffles are the best)

The staff at the front desk was very friendly and extremely helpful. We were making arrangements for our motorcycle club to use this hotel next year for our annual rally. Nice hotel for the price and location. Staff was very friendly and went way above what was required to ensure a pleasant stay. Beds are comfortable. Only downside is there are no king size beds in any rooms.

I would definitely recommend staying in this hotel. The new upgrades are amazing. They have smart TV's, super comfortable beds, high quality towels with an amazing breakfast menu. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming.

After having a motorcycle breakdown for 5 hours in Keyser our day was ruined. Chay made room for us and made sure when we got there that all our needs were met. Thank you!! We will definitely be back. The rooms were clean and comfortable.

The room was very comfortable. We had everything we needed and were accommodated with any extras (like shampoo and extra towels) right away and with smiles. The beds were also very comfortable to sleep on.

The hotel was clean, breakfast was really good and the staff was great. The rooms are on the small side for the price.However, there is a huge bright light behind the bed and it felt like I was in a hospital bed! A bedside lamp would be nice.

We stayed here June 7-9, 2019. Very pleasant staff, great accommodations, clean and well kept. We Would not think twice about staying here again if we traveled this way! Nice breakfast with variety each day we were here.

We stayed here on a recent college visit to Potomac State college. The hotel was clean and quiet. The expanded continental breakfast included make yourself malted waffles and pancakes. The hotel provided salon selective toiletries. The location was about ten minutes to downtown and has a Walmart and a Ponderosa in walking distance . It is noted that this chain is no longer owned by Wyndham and is part of the Best Western chain.

We can't say enough nice things about this motel and the service. We took a group of 18 people from PA to stay here for 2 days while we toured areas in WV. The General Manager Dee is friendly, personable and helpful. And I particularly want to commend front desk clerk Rebecca. So friendly and helpful, allowed us to have an ice cream social in the breakfast area (which is clean and spacious) in the evening. Everyone in our group commented on how nice the motel was. Only thing it lacks is a swimming pool!

Along with family members staying in several rooms of the hotel, we were given the utmost care and accomodating attention during our stay for memorial service for our bereaved sister. Wonderful staff at this hotel.

Last minute trip due to death in family. EVERYONE was very helpful and professional. Haven't got anything negative to say about hotel but phone reception in the area was low. Have relation in the area and will stay here again.
