Je m’inscris This hotel was under renovation and very messy and noisy. Perhaps when it's all done, it will be a lot better. Pet fee added $50 to the cost, which is pretty high for this level of hotel. Would have been better to have ground level floors with laminate flooring for pets. The staff were friendly. Breakfast was okay, not great, but we didn't go hungry. Area felt safe. One restaurant in walking distance, tons more just a few miles away.
Starting with the positive side, the employees were very nice, and if you like Indian food the whole place smelled like it. Unfortunately once we got to our room the smell of Indian food was replaced with the smell of mold/mildew. Come to find out the bottom of the pull out bed was covered in mold. The mattress on the pull out bed was pathetic, more springs than mattress it was in desperate need of replacement. The main bed wasn't much better, we tossed and turned all night trying to get comfortable and woke up sore all over. The toilet wouldn't flush and was leaking from around the seal at the floor. The bathroom door wouldn't even close. Just overall disappointed and disgusted at this hotel. Save yourself the pain and discomfort and stay somewhere else!
the pillows was good and we enjoyed the clean rooms and great hospitality from this hotel. i like to visit decatur as i used to live here not sure why it ir required to have 200 words to write something as this is really long tripadvisor needs to keep it short.
this was a great stay as always and we enjoyed the new pool as the weather was hot. we love to come to decatur for family trip and business. this place is clean and always welcoming. looks like they are renovationg the entire place, cant wait to see new place next time.
very helpful staff and clean rooms, also the breakfast was hot and plenty. I always choose this place when ever i am here in decatur. very safe place and the logans next door makes it much better for the dinner time and i love the food over there.
this is the place to go when in town as its always clean and spotless with very helpful staff. i love this place.
the pool was very clean and we enjoyed very much. i always come and stay here whenever in decatur alabama. the logans next door gives 15% off and very good eats there. Even the downtown has a bunch of good eateries the pizza place is great also with lots to choose from.
This is where you need to stay in Decatur. I stay at a LOT of hotels. I am an elite member with just about every hotel chain, and I know how sketchy a lot of mid tier hotels are. Many owners just don't care. Not here!! This place is HIGHLY recommended. I was amazed at well everything was maintained. And if you compare it to some of the local Choice hotels you will absolutely find out this place is better.
Nice hotel! It seems to be a but older, but is going thru renovations. Renovations did not cause any issues with our stay of 3 nights. We were upgraded to a king whirlpool rm with no extra charge (whirlpool was nice to have!) Decent furnishings (sofa, chair with ottoman, desk and table with chairs for both, dresser, good fridge, microwave and sink. No complaints about bathroom. Lots of channel options on TV, but a printed channel guide would be good. Enjoyed breakfast, not a huge area, but more than adequate options. Logan's Roadhouse next door, and othe restaurants nearby. Front desk/management were professional, polite, and helpful, I even got a little goody bag for being a BW loyalty member! That's a nice touch!
Very clean and peaceful stay here, good breakfast and great service offered. I will come back here again.
My kids grabbed pillows for the pull out bed from the front desk pillow literally had bugs on it after pulling the pull out there was chips all under it. We have been on the rode since 2 am had unloaded all four children to this. I would not recommend staying here.
it fits the bill, and also close to the place i have to be when i am in Decatur and logans next door makes my life easier.
Very aromatic and clean room. the best stay so far on the trip, really quiet and comfortable. overall great.
very relaxed stay at this place, its very clean and very close to the place i need to be when i am in decatur.
I had a very pleasant stay here as always quiet and comfortable place with very helpful staff and good food.
This hotel was very clean. It smelled clean when you walk into the lobby. The staff was friendly. Breakfast was very good and kept clean. My room was clean and my bed was comfortable with 4 pillows.
Had a pleasant stay here, this place was very clean and safe and quiet which i really prefer. we love coming to Decatur .
i always stay here as this the very clean and safe place to stay. also i enjoyed the nice breakfast that was provided. decatur has lots of places to eat and the logans next door is always walking distance and they have good food.
i have stayed here before and i can say its a very clean and good hotel to stay and the staff is absolutely amazing. i liked the breakfast as it was nice and hot. looks like they are updating the hotel but did not bother me.
here at the motel i stayed is very accommodating and very helpful staff. they make sure that my stay was comfortable and were very friendly staff. i have to come to decatur once in a while and i prefer this motel all the time.
they have a very good breakfast for the part that its complimentary, and have had worse at some other places i have stayed. decatur is a small town full of surprises and has mostly everything restaurant wise.
we got lucky with a great price at this hotel as we were travelling and had a huge discount, so the price was right and for the price the breakfast was even better. we will come back as this place is very quiet and safe.
One of the beds had dry blood stains and the skirt was torn. Bathroom floor was dirty and had pubic hair around the toilet and shower. The shower head was old and moldy. The bathroom door couldn't be closed.
the hotel was very well lit and really in a safe area, thought decatur would be kind of a grey area but was in a good location a little off the interstate but well worth the drive. they had good breakfast and the people were very respectful.
very freindly staff and good breakfast, we enjoyed the pool as it was very hot. very well maintained property and safe motel. will be back for sure when coming back to decatur as we always do every time.
I always stay at the bestwesterns only their hotels are always well maintained and clean . This hotel is also clean and well maintained. We will be back soon on our way back home . Decatur is also a great place to visit especially the downtown.
it was worth the price and comfort, clean actually and very good housekeeping and staff, really nice breakfast and the location was just right where we had to meet for the funeral. the decatur area is busy all the time.
great place to stay if you are in or around Decatur, its a little off the interstate but glad I was here as this place had it right from the get-go. From Check inn to checkout it felt like home away from home . The room was clean and spotless, the crew was very hospitable and the breakfast was awesome.
we had planned a reunion with all my friends, and this hotel made it so enjoyable. It was a very clean property especially rooms. The breakfast was nice and hot. There are a lot of restaurants around in the town of Decatur. The staff was extremely helpful. We felt very welcomed.
This place was amazing and full of helpful staff. We had a great stay here after many other hotels in this area. We enjoyed the hot breakfast with great hospitality that best western has shown us. Thank you!
we had a positive experience this time compared to last time as they had covid restrictions in place especially with the breakfast. but this time they rocked and the girls had fun also as the weather helped.
If you need a reasonable price and don't care about amenities this is an option. Don't count on the breakfast. A plus is the accept pets. Be sure to bring water or something to drink. Plan on eating all meals offsite.
We have stayed at Best Western hotels for years. In general, we have always had pretty good experiences. Until this hotel. The outside looks reasonably good. Inside things need upgrades; carpet, tubs, plumbing, etc. The person who checked us in was much more interested in who or what she had going on with her phone. The office chair in the room was so wobbly, I thought it would dump me in the floor. The tub/shower was extremely dated.....in need of upgrades. We will continue to favor BW hotels in the future, but never this one again.
We have a great time staying here, we liked the breakfast very much they even open the breakfast late than 9. The room was clean. We enjoy the swimming pool which was very clean also. We come next time to this hotel.
I Rate this Motel & Personnel "Excellent". We were very tired from a long day travel. Harry was the Personnel that accommodated everything when we arrived. Explained everything to our room, breakfast, and helped with any other questions we had. I really enjoyed meeting Harry, and the stay was very relaxing.
The woman that checked me in was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Our room we got had a whirlpool in it, so that was amazing! They offered to cook me fresh food at breakfast so I had a hot meal. They allowed me to bring my dog as well. Just a wonderful "mini-vacation" all around! We will definitely be coming back! No other hotels compare. We went to laqinta first, but never again. Best Western is now our Go To for hotels in town!
Arrived on Nov 13, 2022 and had the best check in and most concerned and rapid response to a room issue-no frig in room. Susie, the outstanding check-in associate, promptly contacted housekeeping and a frig was placed in my room. Both Housekeeping and Susie apologized and told me to let them know of any other concerns. Clean room and very comfy bed! Loved my overnight stay here and highly recommend this property to anyone needing a quick one-night stopover or longer stay in Decatur or nearby. If here in the winter months, make sure you pay a visit to nearby Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge and see the 1000s of Sandhill Cranes that overwinter on that refuge...a sight and sound not soon to be forgotten! Thanks again Susie, et al, for a great experience at BW River City Hotel
Rooms are very clean, Very Friendly staff. will be back on our next trip. small town has everything foodwise. not sure about the negatives but we loved it here and will definitely be back with family.
Clean room. Front desk clerk helpful. The bed was comfortable. Everything was great for the one night I was there. I would stay here again when visiting clients in the area. Breakfast was a bit blah, but it got the job done.
Terrible beds needs to replaced. Pillows was the worst ever. Dirty covers. Check in person was rude and not very helpful I was told at checkin that was $100 extra hold on our room until we check out. We are in our fifty's we really look like party people! Lol worst hotel ever!! We saw elderly couple at the desk asking for wash cloths and the attendant man says you should have them in the room. The lady told him I assure you we don't have any wash cloths. No welcome at this hotel
Woke up in the middle of the night scratching my arm. When I got up I had numerous bites all over my body. As of Sunday evening I have over 20 bites and my left hand is still swollen from one of the bites. At first I thought it was a spider, but they kept showing up. Now I think they are Bed Bugs??? The ladies at the front desk asked me how my stay was, I told them terrible and what happened, there response was really, no apology, nothing, I told them that room needs disinfecting. Without a word, one of the lady's checked me out and I left, never to return.
Marla and Tabitha were so friendly and welcoming!! I've never been made to feel so at home at a hotel! Rooms were clean and impeccable! You can really tell the owners of this property care about their guests experience and return business!
Make sure to ask for extra towels because they don't exchange them each day. Get a television guide to find channels. There were not enough towels in the room, had to make do. The breakfast was good. Had a hot breakfast to start the day.
I realize we were staying in a room that allows pets, but to see 3 pet stains on the floor was a huge turnoff for us. Also the pillowcases were pilly and scratchy (i.e., OLD!) The toilet handle had to be jiggled to keep the water from running. There was no refills for the kleenex.
Hotel was clean, professional and friendly, located in a quiet area that is close to everything you need,, breakfast is fantastic and the staff went out of their way to make us feel at home! I highly recommend this hotel. Definitely on my favorites list!
nice and clean rooms. very clean Great hotel. Extremely welcoming and highly recommended to stay Full hot breakfast. Friendly honors. The best customer service ever I have had in this hotel. Very nice.
Staff was helpful and friendly. The room we stayed in did not have a thorough cleaning. The drapes had dust all over them. The outlet in the bathroom did not work. Location was near restaurants ands hopping.
Would never stay here again. Room was “tired”, 12:30am argument across the hall required 3 police to end. Our shower head was broken, no shampoo, hair drier was broken. It was more money than the wonderful experience we had in Huntsville on our return trip. In all, over priced and terrible experience.
Our stay was outstanding! We travel with 2 small dogs and it is hard to find a decent hotel that allows pets. The room was above our expectations and we cancelled reservations at another chain hotel and booked this hotel for our return trip from the Gulf Shores this weekend.
I stayed here due to a heating issue with my home. I was supposed to book under the EMPLOYEE rate of 50% off rack rate, but the owners felt getting $20 more from An employee was more important. The rooms are dated. I had to change rooms because the original room reeked of smoke. The hotel is outdated. The owners are entitled and disrespect to everyone “under” them. Hopefully they learn to respect human beings who work for them in the future. Working people 17+ hours a day then tell them you don't owe them favors is pretty crappy.
Very clean, kind staff, quiet and relaxing environment. My husband and I stayed for our anniversary and enjoyed a nice jacuzzi room. Will definitely use this location whenever we stay in the area next. Highly recommend!
This has been the best trip I've had in a while the staff at the hotel is amazing making sure you feel at home and are very polite and respectful always smiling and making you feel welcome and very accommodating if you needed anything they were quick to respond
I'm in town frequently for work. This is my go to spot for a good nights rest. Staff is always friendly rooms are always clean. Marla at the front desk usually is pretty good at local food recommendations, and assistance when needed!
I fully enjoyed my stay at this hotel from the very friendly and helpful staff to the cozy, inviting rooms. The room had a big jet tub that allowed me to relax and get some rest in the comfortable bed after my long soak. It was a much needed mini-vay-cay.
I found this particular property searching for a half-way point between Gulf Shores and Louisville Ky and a room with a whirlpool. The property met and exceeded my expectations. Jolena and the staff were warm and friendly and provided everything I ask for, as I can be a bit high maintainence. The hotel was clean and well maintained, with the exception of the pool...which in the middle of a pandemic is understandable. Plans are already in the works to return to this property in the near future.
Thank you Ms.Tracie for going above and beyond to make our day so special! The room was wonderful and location and restaurant was great! The hotel was so peaceful my husband and I enjoyed our anniversary thank you again!
This hotel is good if your budget is tight. Staff is friendly. Rooms could be cleaned better. Old shampoo was left in the shower. The toilet is very low flow and often left the bathroom with the smell of urine. Bathroom door would not close. Walls are paper thin. King room was however spacious and it was nice having a refrigerator and extra sink. The hotel is conveniently located next door to a Logan's Steakhouse.
Bicycling across the country and back landed me here on a cold, wet, and snowy day. I found the hotel to be fine with no major issues, maybe near ready for a renovation soon, but certainly not in tragic shape. I was given a room that resembled an apartment with a FULL kitchen. I found the room slightly odd in layout, but again not a huge issue. I had a quiet nights sleep and breakfast in the morning. The breakfast person was by far the best part of this property and my experience there, and the person that really stood out. I would stay here again if ever in the area
Booked a room for a friend coming into town to visit.I called early the day they were to arrive and was told the room i had and that it would be ready at 3:00. When we went to check in I was told that the rates had gone up and that they could not give me the room i had ask for for those rates. Even thought it was on my confirmation and the lady earlier had verified it. They said it would cost me 50% more. After about 20 minutes of talk they said they would help me get discounts so i would be happy . The resulting rate was still 20% more that i had reserved which was the rate that had been on the website. OK place to stay if you want to negotiate every time you make a reservation.
Today I Left To Head Back To Work. Best Western River City Hotel In Decatur, AL Is One Of THE BEST! I Really Enjoyed My Stay, Very Clean And Everyone Was RESPECTFUL! I Smiled From The Time I Got Here Till The Time I Left, Breakfast Was Wonderful Every Morning. I Will Most Definitely Stay Here Again ! THANK YOU GUYS FOR MAKING ME FEEL AT HOME .!
Not a good place to stay; at least in my humble opinion. First of al, had to wait 5 minutes until the clerk showed up to check in. The king size bed looked good, as I had been traveling over 5 hours to get to the room, but it lied. Can you say hard as a rock? I've slept on ground softer than this bed!!! The couch was no better, so not much sleep gained. Thought I would use the hot shower to help me make the return trip and day more bearable. Thought wrong... again! No water pressure AT ALL! My dog could produce more pressure; if you get my drift. And the multi-purpose shower head only worked half way. Sheesh! At check out, the kid who was there could've cared less about how my stay was. I will NEVER stay there again.
We booked a room with another motel, upon inspection we found the bath tub disgusting. We didn't stay. We drove to Best Western down the road. Marla was wonderful, showed us our room to make sure it was good. The room was very clean. Marla was so helpful and pleasant. 5 stars for her friendly treatment!
Suane prepared a wonderful breakfast. Lots of choices. Very clean. She was very friendly. We enjoyed her hospitality. Will stay again if ever passing thru. Room was clean. Hotel has been updated. Logans right next door.
This hotel is very well run and every worker we met was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was exceptional, well presented and fresh. The room and public areas were clean and orderly. A great place to stay.
We always stay at the River City Best Western when we travel to Decatur, AL because they always treat us like family. We can always count on friendly customer service. The rooms are comfortably furnished and a good value for the money. The breakfast is always good!
We stay at this hotel every year while visiting family for Christmas. Not only is it very affordable, the staff is awesome! Our favorite is Suane. Her breakfast is awesome but she is an absolute pleasure!!
If you're looking for an overnight stay with easy on-off access to I-65, this isn't the place for you, but if you want a reasonably priced motel with a very friendly, helpful staff and a surprisingly good breakfast (suane's in charge, and she's a gem), I recommend this motel. It's under new ownership, and they go out-of-their way to make your stay a good one.
Hotel staff were very friendly and bent over backwards to personally help us resolve car problems. Dogs are very welcome in all rooms. We will stay here again in the future.. Excellent value. Nice place!
better than being home.great people who care about you comfort and how you are treated.see no reason to go anywher else to spend the night and be treated so well. Merry Christmaas to everyone Tried to leave review but not able to complete. ..
Check in was very quick. Check out even quicker. Polite, courteous service with a smile. Stayed here numerous times. Never had a bad experience. Rooms are always very clean. Close to restaurants. Would definitely recommend.
Leisure Trip We stayed here to just get away for a while! It was very nice and pleasant! Everyone was very nice and couldn't do enough for us! Check out was St 12 instead of 10-11. That was nice! Got to sleep in a little longer! Overall it was a joy to stay here!
We stayed here for 7 days and it was nothing but a nightmare. Our entire floor smelled like marijuana every day, and nothing was done. We were accused of smoking in our room when we weren't even there. The manager sent me a Facebook message saying housekeeping reported the room smelled like smoke, and we had been out shopping for several hours. The main top manager discriminated against my husband—he was fixing his breakfast and this man followed him, questioning him about what room he was in, how long he'd been there, etc, even following him back to the elevator. Basically acting as if he wasn't a guest trying to get food. Also, instead of speaking to us directly about issues, the front desk manager would message me via Facebook. She sent very rude and unprofessional messages. We have never been treated so badly at any hotel! We will not be back, and will not recommend this hotel to anyone.
This is a very nice motel. Pretty accessible to everything at Decatur. The staff there are very friendly and helpful. We have stayed here numerous times and have always been treated kind. The breakfast is pretty good, good enough to the day started.
This is the 6th year we have stayed here. The staff is awesome. The breakfast is always hot and ready and tasty. They go out of their way to make our stay excellent. We have already booked our rooms for 2020.
This is a great place to stay, Decatur has many attractions to visit and great restaurants near by. The people are very nice and attentive to meet your needs, service is great if you need anything extra to make your more comfortable.
I was covering a fishing tournament in Decatur. Every aspect of my stay at the Best Western River city Hotel was top notch. Great breakfast, clean rooms, friendly staff and excellent service. I would recommend this hotel highly.
The hotel had nothing outstanding but nothing bad. A comfortable, quiet, stay for a good price. Very quick and easy check in and out. Staff was accommodating to requests, and worked with our group well.
Simply amazing! The staff was extremely accommodating. The room was clean and comfortable. The food was great as well. Cannot wait to stay again! My husband definitely felt like a president. Thank you!
Me and my wife really enjoyed this hotel. We were passing through on vacation and decided to stop by here. Price was great for how clean and how professional the staff were. We definetly will be staying here again. Kudos to management and employees for their hard work. Keep up the good work.
I was in Decatur to visit my best friend. I decided to stay at Best Western. Everyone was friendly and so helpful. Breakfast was great with lots of variety. Our room and public areas were very clean. Kudos to whole team. Keep up the good work.
Great to be back at this place. I really like how the GM Seyma runs this place. All her employees are just like her very professional friendly and actually enjoy helping others. I will be back next year.
I always stay at this location when I'm in the area for work. Conveniently located to where my customers are located. When i'm working this area I'm able to visit customers in the Decatur area as well as Madison, Huntsville and Athens. The hotel is always clean and very well kept up.
Excellent Customer Service and nice and clean rooms feels totally HOME AWAY FROM HOME !!!!!!!!!!!!! Nice and friendly employee staff. I went with my whole family. My kids and parents all loved the food and facility. That was additional catch that the amazing hot food and even Decatur is also nice town near Madison which I will pick for my upcoming business trip as well. Awesome pick and enjoyed my trip so well. Can't wait for next. Lavish Vacation:)
Even if it is a little out of the way you'll want to choose this Best Western for your stay! General Manager Seyma Goluoglu wins the award for best show in hospitality, friendliness, and just an overall wonderful person. From the moment we walked in the door until walking out this morning we felt special and welcomed. A delicious complimentary chicken fajita was waiting when we walked in and and equally delicious complimentary hot yummy breakfast on our way out! The facility was spotless and even the room had a very pleasant odor instead of the stuffy hotel room normal scent. Seyma was extra helpful and spent a good amount of her time helping me find another hopefully great Best Western to stay at on our return home! This is exactly the kind of experience one is looking for while traveling. There was even a complimentary grab bag on the way out with an apple, granola bar and bottled water. They've thought of everything and have all bases covered! Thanks Seyma and crew for the great start to our vacation!
I came to Decatur for my family reunion, the hotel was very nice and quiet, I had no problems sleeping and everyone was very pleasant. I really enjoyed the lemonade and cucumber water that was always near the front desk. Thanks for the great hospitality.
The bed in a king size room was pretty hard. Holiday Inn Express has better beds. Not too hard, not too soft, just right. The breakfast was ok but nothing to brag about... especially the biscuits. They were small and cold- aka hard - aka semi-hockey pucks. Definitely won't be staying here again.
Stopped here from our way to Florida from Indiana for the night. This place is verrrry clean. Friendly. And just all around perfect! The room smelled clean and was clean, no bugs. The free breakfast was great!!! The staff is always smiling and saying hello. Free cookies, lemonade, and fresh cucumber water. The pool in the small side but great to get in cool off and relax. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!!
This is truly the best hotel. Miss Seyma is amazing and her team will make sure you have the best possible experience staying there. Along with their full buffet style breakfast (even the pickiest eaters will enjoy) she also makes a small dinner through the week.
This Best Western is a clean and modern hotel with the usual amenities that you find in most chains. What makes it better than most is the friendly staff. The room is a good size and you have a microwave and refrigerator in your room. The wi-fi is adequate as well.
The hotel is very clean. The staff tand management are very polite and professional. They serve hot breakfast every morning and dinner Monday thru Thursday. I highly recommend this hotel. Book ahead.ty
The stay was great! The manager Seyma is a lovely welcoming person. She really made my day better when I entered. I would recommend to anyone who comes to visit Decatur Alabama. I will make sure I come back. The staff member Livia was a great person. She does the evening social Monday-Thursday and everything is wonderful.
My experience with this establishment is one of the best I've had this year. The management really is concerned about my stay here. They not only accommodate us with breakfast but dinner as well. I was even given a ride to the gym and picked up. I really am enjoying my stay here and I look forward to coming back.
The best experience for three nights. Very quite, clean and friendly service. Very good breakfast and finger foods. I have stayed at other hotels on my previous trips in the area, and this hotel certainly beats the competition in all respects. I am happy and confident to recommend this hotel.
Great hotel. Great value for your buck. I have been coming to this hotel for last 6 years. It is the people who makes this place different. I feel like I m an extended family. I cant wait to come back each week. Keep up the good work.
I visited this hotel last month and the stay was Excellent! The staff was nice and helpful. The rooms was very comfortable and nice. The breakfast was awesome but what I look forward to is the dinner they have prepared when I get off from a long days work. I really enjoy the pool as well the water is at the right temperature and it's clean. So when time to checkout I really don't want to leave but I know I will be back so it doesn't better me as much. I tell all my friends and co-workers how nice this hotel is and they must come to The Best Western in Decatur Al! Awesome Hotel!
The staff was friendly and courteous. They were working on the grounds so I expect they will be pleasing when complete. The breakfast will not win any awards but was filling and several choices available.
This is my second time staying at this hotel. Wonderful service. Nice clean rooms. Breakfast was amazing. Different options. Everybody is always seems to be happy and kind. Great atmosphere. I will definitely be back in couple of months.
its been a very comforting stay for us, we were welcomed as a family not as customers. the GM went out of her way to accommodate us and made sure everything was fine, the breakfast had plethora of choices and the evening social food was awesome. will definitely come back.
Best Western in Decatur is by far the best hotel to stay at when in Decatur. Rooms are always clean and very comfortable. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Management is top notch. Breakfast is also awesome!
There are fancier hotels in Decatur to try out, but the best money spent is at the Best Western! Staff is wonderful; they are friendly, actually remember your face and will go out of their way to fulfill requests! Breakfast and evening socials are included. Rooms are clean and comfortable, wifi is free. This is my go to place in Decatur!
The owners and their staff, Suzanne in particular, went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The room was clean and as advertised. The breakfasts was fresh and tasty. We received very good value for the cost. We would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Decatur.
Seyma and his crew at the Best Western River City truly are the best! The hotel is very clean and convenient. They serve a fabulous hot breakfast with choices for all. They are willing to go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable and cozy. They even send you on your way with a snack bag. I hope to visit again soon!
My mom and I absolutely love staying at the Best Westen River City in Decatur, AL. Everything about this hotel is amazing from the General Manager, to the staff, quality of the rooms, the customer servivce, etc. We especially love staying at this hotel for one special member of our family, our nearly 14 year old puppy, Missy. She was diagnosted with cancer 3 years ago and given less than a month to livve. She loves staying at this hotel so that she can ride the bell carts and be a bell dog for a few hours. This makes her day and is a really special moment for us.
We have stayed at a number of different places in Decatur, but this week this became our favorite place to stay. The River City Hotel is good value-the facility is clean, the staff is friendly, the rooms are comfortable and quiet, the front desk is efficient, the breakfast is a notch above most hotel breakfasts, and the location is convenient. But, it is the manager-Seyma Goluoglu who makes this hotel different in so many good ways. She is friendly, always smiling, efficient, and in so many ways she went above and beyond for us this past week. She worked with us to clear up confusion about our rewards and then worked to find us a room when there appeared to be none.
The staff was very nice, the room was a nice size, the breakfast was amazing and the lady who served the breakfast was nice and friendly as well. Kudos to the manager who checked me in and the lady who cooked the breakfast. They really made my stay enjoyable and I will stay here when in town again.
Booked this hotel based on the positive reviews..... check in was quick all the staff I dealt with were good. But a large group of middle school girls ran up and down halls yelling ruined a quiet evening (I was in town for a funeral). Called the front desk around 10:30 pm and they must have contacted the parents. Worst part was Saturday morning, they decimated the breakfast bar. Juice machine was empty, almost no coffee and NO FOOD. The lone person in the kitchen was hard at work prepping food, but had no add'l help to restock anything. I fault the manager for not having more staff knowing they had a full house with young people. On another day this would have been a better rating.
Our room was very clean and quiet. The breakfast was delicious. There were a vairety of options at breakfast. The staff give exellent customer service. They made check in and check out easy and they went the "extra mile" when one of our family was ill and needed some assistance.
Stayed a week at this Best Western and it was just an ok stay. I had a hard time getting new towels and when I did I was always missing something. Breakfast wasn't bad and dinner was okay. The rooms were clean and the hotel was easy access to the main road.
A year ago I stayed one night at the River City Best Western as I headed north from “snowbirding” in Florida. I thought it was a great place to stay, so I decided to stay again this year. I walked into the lobby to check-in and was immediately recognized and greeted by a warm smile and a “WELCOME BACK “ greeting. It literally blew my mind, I this was only the second time I had stayed at this hotel. I find this to be one of the friendliest places that I have ever visited and I travel a lot. I have nothing by very positive things to say about it. Clean Rooms, comfortable beds, a great complimentary breakfast, a staff eager to serve you and to help in any way. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT IF YOU ARE STAYING IN OR NEAR DECATUR!!!
Room was good, new carpeting, comfortable bed very good breakfast and a bag lunch snack when checking out.The location was close to most restaurant chains, shopping and historic places. We visited the Grotto in Cullman Al about 30 miles away very rewarding experience.
This is a beautiful hotel in an older area of town, The staff is excellent and our room was beuatiful and the most comfortable KING bed, Breakfast is hot, tasty and the lobby area is plesant. And they are pet friendly, its a great bargain for the price.
We found this great hotel when searching for a pet friendly hotel on our way home from NC to Texas. The owner and staff are wonderful and friendly, our room was very clean and the bed comfortable. There is a restaurant within walking distance and the free breakfast was good. There was plenty of open space to walk our dog and the hotel was very quiet.
The room was clean, the bed was amazing, and the staff was super friendly. By far the best hotel we have stay in Decatur. Would definitely recommend to friends and family. I am calling them this morning to see what brand of pillows they have! First morning in forever I have not had neck pain when waking up!
We had to stay here due to our water main busting. They staff went out of their way to be kind and friendly. The breakfast was awesome. I work third shift. The room was quiet and dark. I cant thank them enough for helping make our displacement as pleasant as they could. Thank you!
Very nice hotel. The staff is very friendly and treats you like family. The rooms was spacious, nice, and clean. The breakfast was really good and a variety of items to choose from. The idea for evening social is awesome as well. I would definitely recommend staying here while in or traveling through Decatur.
This is by far the best hotel I have stayed at. It is definitely the total package reasonable price, great breakfast, evening social(finger foods), friendly staff, clean rooms. I will be staying here from now on while visiting Decatur.
I have stayed at this facility several times now and give it the highest rating for service, cleanliness, comfort, and the best breakfast ever, bar none. When my plans take me to Decatur and Wheeler Lake at Ingalls Harbor, the BW River City Hotel is my choice.
It was the best I've stayed at! The BREAKFAST Was the best I've ever had at a hotel! The biscuits were the best especially. The room was spacious and the staff was welcoming and helpful. I will stay again soon.
I tried to make a reservation on line and could not since my last name had an "incorrect length" and I could not change it. ??? So I called the 1-800 number. Reservation was looking good until I mentioned we had a cat with us. Person on the other end said she had to call the actual hotel. They said they would only take dogs. BUT THEIR WEB SITE DOES NOT SAY THAT. Good I mentioned it. It would not have been fun to show up at 7:00 and told my booked room was not available because I had a cat and not a dog. A seriously good way to turn off customers.
wow the best we found in al. will be returning it was just wonderful and to serve food for dinner was just the best ideal and it was very good food , very clean rooms and the workers was so friendly and hepfufl
Clean smelling, lobby area open and welcoming. Staff was very friendly. Room was clean with no smell. Quiet at night. Breakfast area was clean and a full hot breakfast was provided. Discounts offered at three restaurants very close to hotel. Lots of restaurant choices on the strip that the hotel was located on. Easy access on and off I65. We would definitely stay here again.
Nice staff. Clean hotel and relatively new. Restaurants nearby. No complaints. Breakfast is ok for hotel type. Had heavy hors d'oeuvres.. away from City center but close enough. Would recommend to friends
I booked this room because it was about halfway for us on our vacation. Clean room and hotel. It's less than 10 minutes from I-65 as well. The entire staff was friendly as well. There was a good selection at breakfast too.
Great Stay!u No words to express how satisfied I was with this Best Western! From the check in personal, till the great assistance of the General Manager Seyma, she's awesome! I'll indeed recommend this property to everyone!
Omg !! This place was awesome! The customer service was exceptional. Karrie the person for house cleaning staff went above and beyond . She saw we were leaving in the pouring down rain and she gave us her umbrella . The breakfast was very very good. The person that worked in the breakfast area was awesome! She was very personal. I would highly recommend this hotel . Thank you for great customer and awesome hospitality!!
Best Western Decatur AL This was a one night stay on way home from vacation. Older Hotel but clean and well maintained. Staff is friendly and courteous. Two queen room is larger than average with a table and two chairs, desk and chair. Desk chair in good condition was a welcome change. Room is a bit dim could use higher wattage lights. Breakfast is good but not great.
This was by far the BEST hotel we have ever stayed at! The hotel was great and very clean and the staff was extremely helpful and genuinely nice! We will be staying here every time we are in town! Definitely will recommend to friends.
Staff was polite and friendly. Love seeing y'all! I will definitely be staying here again and again! My room was clean and smelled very nice. Also, thank you so much for the very early check in. Not only was it convenient, but it allowed my husband and I to have some much needed extra quiet time.
I loved staying here!! I was on a 5 night stay. The room was so nice and spacious it was clean, quiet and the breakfast was awesome there was a nice variety of food. The pool was nice too! All the employees I talked with were very nice and I especially loved talking with Miss Marie! She was the sweetest lady! I Definitely plan on staying here again the next time I'm in the area!
It is a great place to stay. Has relaxing and comfortable rooms. Has great employee's that are easy to get along with and very nice! Great breakfast and a quiet place to stay!I recommend anyone who is coming to Decatur to stay!
My wife and I stopped here here after a long days drive. We were met by a very friendly young lady that that took care of the check in and directed us to the laundry room. This was a top notch place to stop and get a great night's sleep. The room was very clean and brightly lighted. The Wi-Fi and the TV worked fine and we were treated to a very nice breakfast before we left. We will stop here again.
This hotel is a very nice hotel. There is a good variety of breakfast items to choose from. They also have a evening social which consist of a snack between 5-7p.m. The staff was all very nice and professional. Managed very well! I will definitely recommend this hotel to future travelers.
Can I give 7 stars?! Super clean and friendly service with comfortable beds in well maintained rooms! Awesome breakfast bar and coffee! Pool is well maintained and clean. Parking is tight, but not a problem. I stayed 5 days, my room was tended to every day with out fail. I was on business and will make this my hotel of choice from now on!
The staff was nice. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. Longhorn Steak house was right next door. I highly recommend staying there. Other restaurants are a short distance down the road. Has an elevator to get to the 2nd and 3rd floors.
It was my pleasure to return to this moderately priced but well-run hotel on Decatur's northwest side for ten nights early in May. The thing that struck me again was the genuine warmth of the hotel staff, from Seyma, the manager, through all the front desk personnel, the breakfast room staff, and the housekeeping and maintenance staff. They were very cheerful all the time, often addressing me by name whenever I passed through the lobby area. The hotel is comfortable, even though it lacks the amenities of larger facilities. It continues to be priced reasonably and is a comfortable place in which to rest and work. The room I had on the top floor was spacious and well furnished with a comfortable bed and efficient climate control. The hotel's other advantage is its convenient location on the Beltline. There are numerous restaurants of every kind within 2-3 miles as well as various retail establishments. Having stayed there in 2014, I wondered whether my impressions then would be confirmed. They were. The River City Hotel is a welcome spot that offers quiet and friendliness. Many thanks to Seyma and all the staff for their concerns for the welfare of all their guests.
This is a nice hotel to stay at in the Decatur area, we stayed two nights. Hotel is in a good location near shopping and restaurants and the staff is very friendly and helpful especially the manager. We stayed in a king suite which had plenty of space and was nice and clean. Would not have a problem staying here again.
Best hotel in the Decatur area. Staff is always so friendly. Management is the best around. Breakfast is top notch. Rooms are clean and beds are very comfortable. When staying in this area choose The Best Western
never again overprice seems the mgt seems to think it is okay to side with a rude housekeeper sorry head housekeeper who was told i was waiting for a suite to say quote i will get to it whenever and the gm thinks she has no issue with 150 dollar room rude and if this is what best western is about
Seyma and her staff are the friendliest folks I've met. They always try to make you feel like you are part of their family. We always stay at the River City Best Western when we come to Decatur even though there are other hotels closer to my Mom. The food on the Breakfast bar is awesome!!!
I would definitely stay at this hotel on future visits to Decatur. The staff is courteous, friendly, and professional. The room was clean, comfortable, and inviting. The breakfast items were well prepared. and there was a variety to choose from. The internet was fast and there were no problems. The hotel is close to restaurants and shopping centers.
The General Manager, Ms. Seyma Njubigbo and her staff were the best overall trained employees I have encountered at any hotel I have stayed in. The customer service, the check in, check out, cleanliness of the entire hotel and any information you needed, they seemed to have the right answer. Quality at it's best. If I had a Business, Ms. Njubigbo would train my staff!!!!! Larry Price
We stayed in Decatur on our way back to WI. We travel with our dog - small chocolate lab - so we need to find dog friendly hotels. This place was nice, clean and adequate for our needs. We had a first floor room close to the side door leading outside to make dog potty breaks easier. They called our room about an hour after we arrived to be sure everything was fine. We would stay here again.
The motel was rated highly on tripadvisor so we chose it on a road trip. When we arrived, the parking lot was near a few homes that looked run down so I felt hesitant. But I ended up loving this place. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. The breakfast was one of the best of the motel breakfasts we encountered. All I encountered went out of their way to ask if they could help. We walked to Logan's Roadhouse across lawn after employee showed us where to walk. Employee called mother to get specific directions to visitor's center. Employees in maid service and breakfast servers were very cordial. I swung from being tired and hesitant to very happy we had chosen this motel.
This staff is unbelievably friendly. They go out of the way to make u feel at home. Or actually better than home. Would like to visit again. Thanks so much for the hospitality. Not to mention breakfast and afternoon snacks.
Lets see the desk was friendly upbeat and like family. You could not beat their hospitality anywhere in the world and being a veteran I can say the world. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to feel like they never left home and family. How you all managed to put this group of people is beyond me. Damn good job absolutely a 5 star hotel with the greatest employees and management I've ever seen in my 55 years.
Wow!!! Looking for a place to stay in northern Alabama and picked this hotel. What a great experience. One of the friendliest hotel staffs that I have ever met! Greeted by warm smiles by a staff who did everything one could ever ask for to make your stay pleasurable. They were serving a delicious corn chowder and corn muffins for a pre dinner snack as we arrived. When I inquired about a highly rated bar b que restaurant in the area, they looked up the address, gave me directions and suggested what to order. The rooms are very pleasantly decorated and have very comfortable beds. The breakfast buffet had everything one could ask for, the best offerings in our 7 night trip. My wife and I could not asked for anything better
The whole staff was very friendly to me and my family, they made us feel right at home. The rooms were excellent and the hotel it self was very clean. Location has very easy access to restaurants and shopping.
We had several meetings in the area and chose this place. Wow... what a nice place. Clean from the parking lot to the bathroom. The room smelled clean from the first entry. Halls and stairwells were clean too. Very quiet even though very busy. Front desk people were helpful and gave us recommendations about places we needed to go for supplies and meals. Really a first-rate place. We will recommend this place to others staying in this area for the balloon weekend, the Cook Pest Control Museum or Point Mallard Park. We have booked rooms for more meetings this fall. A real five star experience!
Thus hotel is very welcoming hotel to stay at by far.. Each and every employee is very friendly and will go out their way to meet your needs. The General Manager Seyma is awesome as well and has a wonderful team working for her. Paige, Suanne, Marissa, and Amber is just to name a few. I will definitely be staying here in the future visits..
Best Western River City is a very well organized establishment. Every employee I came across was very courteous & helpful with anything that I needed. One employee at the front desk, Page, was more than helpful when I called & asked for anything. I will most definitely stay at this hotel again.
Just checked out of the hotel. The pleasant experience is still fresh and wanted to share with other travelers. Room was clean and comfortable and the bed and pillows as well. Slept well and enjoyed a very tasty breakfast. The breakfast room was spotless, inviting and it provided a dish for everyone. Staff was great - all pleasant and welcoming. Best of all pet friendly. Our room provided easy access for our springer to enjoy the outdoors. If travelling to or through Decatur-make this hotel a destination.
Wonderful staff, good breakfast variety, nice rooms. Hotel provided fresh baked cookies most every evening & occasionally a small meal(chilli, soup, ham & beans) in the beakfast area. Manager remembered me from previous year & called me by name at entry door when I first arrvied. She also provided me with a goodie bag for my 11 hr drive home. I stayed for about 70 days with only a short problem with cable/satelite tv problem.
Excellent place to stay. This Best Western is very clean, comfortable, and the service is top notch. They are always going the extra mile to take care of you. Breakfast service is excellent. I would definitely stay here again.
This Best Western is worth the short 10 minute drive from I-65. There are many shopping and dining options close by; Logan's Steakhouse is a short walk from the hotel. Be ready to be treated like family when you stay here; everyone is so friendly and helpful...I stay here quite often when traveling for business, and I call it my "home away from home".
The stuffs were very kind and helped me a lot. The location was also great. During my stay, I often went to Publix and driving range.I came to America first time and was very nervous about living, but I could enjoy the beginning of American life.
I stayed one night and found this hotel to be clean with a nice and knowledgable staff. The room was a good size and had all the conveniences. although not downtown, it was a good location for getting to the are around the Decatur area.
The complimentary breakfast is good. Have enough to satisfy your morning needs. The bed was very comfortable. Slept good on it. Shower was good and towels were soft. The staff was friendly and helpful with any need we had. Television was a little small for this room.
The staff at the Best Western in Decatur, AL always makes me feel welcomed and treat me (and my husband when he's with me) feel like family. The breakfast is always hot and delicious and you if you walk away hungry, it's your fault. They always try to accommodate special needs. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. The prices are great for the value of the product.
The hotel has been renovated, but some of the rooms you could tell were upgraded sloppily (paint drips in the bathtub). The hotel was totally booked for the soccer tournament, but we arrived late Saturday afternoon after 5pm. Check in was supposed to be at 3 pm. We could not check in as they were waiting on clean sheets. The lobby had fresh cookies and popsicles while we waited. We got to our room and there were no sheets for the pull out couch in our king room. We called down and were told we could come and get sheets from the front desk. Breakfast was hot and had a good variety. Two ladies were working the breakfast area in the morning and did an excellent job of keeping the area clean and stocked. We would stay here again.
Upon entering the Best Western, we were warmly greeted by Seyma who was working the front desk. Seyma was very professional, friendly and answered all of our questions. Our room was clean and comfortable and we enjoyed our stay very much. The woman that worked the breakfast area (sorry I forgot her name) was very nice too! If we are ever in the Decatur area again, we will definitely consider staying at the Best Western River City Hotel.
I have stayed here many times in the last 5 years. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is the best around, much more than the standard hot bar at most locations. Reward members get the best treatments and upgrades
Valerie and Seyma, the general manager went above and beyond for me when I pulled in at midnight and there was some confusion about my reservation. They worked hard and got me into a room in no time. They were friendly and professional. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Thank you!!
Didn't know what to expect, but couldn't have been more pleased. Rooms were clean, beds were great, food couldn't have been better & the staff were absolutely fantastic! Hotel was well decorated & we loved it.
Just could not have been better. Staff was outstanding. Did everything that they could. They delivered on everything that they promised. Breakfast was extensive. Nice to have a grab and go bag. Sorry that there is construction around them but that will get over soon.
Everything about this BW screamed excellence, from the courteous, friendly check in to the oversized room to the cleanliness and on it goes. Bed was comfy, amenities worked fine, the breakfast was above average. Honestly cannot think of one thing I'd change about this place. Very good value on the main highway, close to retail and restaurants. You can't do better for an overnight trip.
Always great service, clean rooms. Breakfast is hot and delicious. Sayma and her staff make you feel like family. Location is close to shopping and plenty of places to eat. The grounds out side are clean and the landscaping well groomed. Will always only stay here.
excellent motel on the main hwy. threw town but very quite at night so you can rest well. Room was clean and dark at night that aides to sleep process. it is always a pleasure to stay in Decatur AL. small town on the river with all the big city food locations that should satisfy any pallet.
Convenient location; friendly staff, the cleanliness of the room was just OK, but sheets and towels were good. Includes a microwave, refrigerator, sink, etc so very well equipped. Paid less than $100 for the night. Really good breakfast buffet.
Seyma, you and your staff are amazing. Thank you so much for making our stay so great! We felt so welcome and comfortable. Will definitely stay again!!!! -XO, Collierville High School Cross Country Team
Nice clean room, staff was outstanding! Breakfast was delicious, and I seldom say that about hotel breakfasts! Our room was quiet even though there was a group of children there for a tournament. Fresh cookies when we checked in!
the staff here are very friendly & professional they made me feel at home. the room was clean & the decor was pleasant . the bed was comfortable I rested well here. easy on & off the highway. with plenty parking. I drive a 18 wheeler & had plenty parking. close enough to reastraunts. over all good atmosphere.
The staff was all very helpful making sure everyone had what they needed for the hurticane Irma evacuees. They went above the call of duty to keep the facility clean and make us feel welcome. No one was turned away if they had pets with them. Thank you for the great service and care.
We stayed 6 nights to get away from Irma. The entire staff was kind, attentive, and friendly. The local churches stopped by the hotel offering things for Florida evacuees (snacks, toiletries, gift cards, bottled water, meals, etc.) and the front desk made us aware of all of them. They even gave our kids a bag of candy for the ride home. The hotel was booked solid, and even then the entire staff was working hard with smiles on their faces to make sure everyone felt welcome. My only complaint would be the lack of towels. They were running out and we had to plan our kids baths around when the towels would come out of the dryer.
I want to thank the staff for making us feel so very welcomed. Your warmth of heart really makes your hotel THE BEST! The whole Decatour community turned to help and the local churches and schools sent donations and offered free lunch and dinner to help the evacuees. You'll be in our hearts forever!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH. GOD BLESS YOU ALL.
The staff was very helpful. The room was clean and and in good order. The lobby computer was reasonable fast, however the printer would not print for me. The breakfast had a good verity of options and was well presented. Over all it was a pleasant stay. They were a large number of hurricane evacuees from Florida at the hotel on my visit and the staff did an excellent job of taking care of them.
Clean room, good internet and great breakfast! The staff was so nice and very helpful. You can really tell that the staff here are trying to do their best to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The only problems we had were the key cards to get back into the room from the pool and the answering machine lights. Would definitely stay here again!
The staff at this hotel are always kind, courteous and helpful. The location is convenient but is also in a quiet area. There are local restaurants close by as well as Point Mallard Water Park and the Tennessee River.
The hotel was nice friendly staff, good hot breakfast. Clean pool a little small. Hotel wasn't over crowded. Staff responded to request asap! Kid friendly! Hotel was quiet n safe! Near by restaurant Logan's most try!
Clean, great breakfast, super staff, good Internet, plenty of room. Will be staying there again. Really enjoyed our stay there. Good parking. Restaurants close. Logan's Roadhouse within walking distance.
I had no issues with the hotel itself. The room was clean, staff was friendly, breakfast was great. I did, however, have an issue with my reservation that I feel should not have happened. We had been on the road for around 10 hours traveling to the hotel that I had made prior reservations at. Once we arrived we were told that our reservation had been cancelled because the lady didn't think we were coming. I had reserved a room for Thursday-Monday. We didn't arrive until around 4:00 Friday morning, but I knew that was before checkout time so I booked Thursday night so we would have that covered and have a room to go to when we got there. I was never notified that it was cancelled. I feel like before cancelling they could have at least called me. We had to wait another hour because the room I had reserved was no longer available. We ended up having to pay a higher price because we had to take a room with a jacuzzi tub. The lady said she got the price down as low as she could, but I feel like since it was her fault that the price I reserved at should have been matched. At that point though we were exhausted and just went ahead and paid so we could get some rest.
First off, I understand that I chose to stay in a budget hotel and my expectations should match the price but I feel that there are basic things required for close to a $100 hotel. Let me start with the good. The staff was very friendly, always speaking, smiling, and welcoming. Definitely the best part of the hotel. The breakfasts were very good and offered lots of options. The room was also clean when we arrived. We stayed in the king "suite" which basically meant it had a couch, microwave, and mini fridge. What could be better. Day one we left late ( around 12) so the room didn't get cleaned and I completely understand why on this particular day. Day two we left around 8:30 and the beds were made up, towels replaced, but the garbage was not taken out (one can was almost full). Day three we left before 9:00am and the rooms were not cleaned. To me, day two and day three is unacceptable from a house keeping standpoint. In addition to the lack of house keeping, the desk chair was broken (and it was easy to identify without even sitting in it). I probably should have told the management while we were there but timing was never great as we needed the room while we were there and could not take the time to let them take care of the problems. The hotel overall is okay, but I've stayed at better for the same price. Hopefully my feedback will give them some ideas behind how to improve.
Despite a minor problem with the toilet and low water pressure in our room, my mom and I had a wonderful stay at your hotel. We stay at this hotel due to the convenience and the fact that you all accept pets. Our dog Missy who was diagnosed with cancer 1.5 years ago, loves coming to your hotel to ride the bell cart. This is one of her favorite things in life and we appreciate you all so much. Your staff is very hospitable and really care about their customers. Thank you all again for an excellent stay and for working with us to get our room changed so quickly. We appreciate it and will be back soon.
excellent room, clean and comfortable. staff was very friendly and in a good quite location. Bedding was clean and comfortable, good internet, and ice machines that work. check in and check out was fast . always enjoy staying here. .
We were in town for the Dixie Youth League Baseball State Tournament for 4 days. The hotel staff was absolutely amazing to the parents as well as all the boys. The hotel is older, but has been upgraded and is very clean. The staff sought us out on a daily basis, and even worked with us to add an extra night. I don't feel that I can say enough good things about this hotel and the service that it provides.
Great staff, courteous and friendly.Breakfast foods with lots of choices. The food was hot and the staff goes the extra mile to make sure the overall stay is pleasant. I would recommend this hotel for business and/or pleasure.
The general manager did a good job in setting up this reservation for us. It was a spur of the moment thing and she helped get this set up with no problems. The room was very clean and spacious. Had plenty of room and was quiet. Was an easy check in and the express check out was good.
The Best Western River City Hotel in Decatur, AL is a pleasure to visit. The staff here is the best! Everyone is friendly and make you feel like you are at home. If you need something, all you have to do is ask. Keep up the great work!
I spent 7 days with my newborn son at this property while visiting family in the area. I typically stay at another hotel, but they didn't have a room available for the length of time I needed. i would gladly go back to BestWestern. The best part of my stay was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Traveling alone with a newborn was very stressful and they were eager to help in any way I needed.
it was a very pleasant and clean place to stay. The staff was friendly. Rooms were comfortable and clean. There was a very nice selection for breakfast.. It was easily accessible from the highway.. Kids loved the swimming pool. Grandma loved the beds.
What the hotel Blackton bells and whistles it more than made up for in their staff. We found them to be very helpful, very knowledgeable, and eager to go the extra mile. The only flaw that I could find is in the food. But that's the same for all best westerns as the Siri of the same food in the morning.
This hotel is conveniently located but it can be difficult to access it or exit, depending on where you are coming from or going to. The room was fine but because it faced the Main Street there was a lot of road noise in the room much of the night. The breakfast buffet was certainly adequate.
We stopped here for an overnight stay on our way down to Gulf Shores. Southern hospitality was out in full force from our arrival to departure time. They have cookies and coffee in the lounge to enjoy upon arrival. Nicely updated hotel. The only 'issue', it isn't right off I-65, but the only one that had rooms available! Enjoyed our overnight stop here and would stay again.
This hotel is in a great location in Decatur. The staff was positive and upbeat and always had a pleasant greeting for us whether we were coming in or going out. Krishna was of great help to us with poise and excellent customer service. We were late sleepers so we didn't have breakfast except one morning and there was plenty to choose from and everything looked fresh. The entire staff offered assistance to us if we were carrying out items or bringing them into the hotel. Now that is very unusual! The housekeeping staff even offered help! They were great, too, providing very clean rooms and any supplies that needed replacing EVERYDAY. Some hotels I've stayed at only provide shampoo, tissues, in-room coffee supplies, etc. upon your arrival and don't replace them during your stay; just towels and trash bags. One thing that made me feel safe was that the property was very well lit at night. I was not afraid to go to the car to retrieve something in the dark. There are lots of restaurants close to the hotel, too. You should not go hungry in this town. We won't hesitate to stay here the next time we visit family in the area. Thanks Best Western folks for making our stay very enjoyable.
Service fantastic. We arrived at night. Krishna from the front desk was very helpful. The room not only clean, it smelled clean. Breakfast healthy and tasty. Stephanie personally served coffee. I saw her preparing a waffle for a little kid and helping a couple with their grandchildren. Elaina was been trained, yet offered great service.
Going to use this chain of hotels as often as possible as they are so neat and clean and beautiful. I found them very comfortable and spacious and liked the decor as well. This one was a little further from our route but worth the extra drive. Would like to have restaurant in property though.
I was working in the area and could not decide wether to stay the night. After visiting the hotel, I knew I could stay the night and be more productive the next day. The staff (especially Curlie King) were very helpful! She was great!!
Everyone was extremely nice and helpful! Great staff and I saw why after experiencing the manager. We got upgrading to a room with a jacuzzi and welcome bags. She did not have to do either. Housekeeping was really polite and checked on us whenever we walked by them. Definitely a great experience for us both!
The room was clean and comfortable. The cleaning staff was supportive and accommodating to my needs and wants. There was a hot breakfast with various choices of food that was cooked on site. The cook asked me if I needed any specialty foods. The front desk people were also accommodating. The hotel was pet friendly too. Other guests were quiet when they were going in and out of their rooms. It was a positive experience all the way around.
I stayed there on business several times the last year. The staff, cleanliness and breakfast are all great. I mentioned they did not have my favorite, grits, last week and the next morning there they were. They even offered to make some the first day but I declined.
Have stayed here several times and found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean. Nice breakfast in the morning. Room prices are very reasonable. Close to where I need to go for business meetings.
Fire alarm went off more than 5 times in less than a 24 hour period. No rest with constant fire alarms sounding off and strobe lights. Lights flashed for over 1 hour on the last time it went off. And btw there was no fire. Also old blood stains on sheets.
Antiquing with a friend in the great state of Alabama. Stayed here for 2 nights. Room very nice and clean. All staff were very nice and hospitable. Great breakfast. Definitely recommend this hotel. Will stay here again.
I am very very pleased with my at stay the Best Western, River City Hotel. I haven't expereniced customer service like this in along time. The staff has really restored my faith in it. My room was a King deluxe w\\ jacuzzi. Very clean and inviting. A totally relaxing experience. The room included mircowave and fridge. The pictures on the website honestly doesn't do the room justice. The breakfast was really over the top. Definitely not the typical continental breakfast. I will most certainly return. As well speard the word about BW, River City Hotel. Thank you to the Management and staff.
Check in was quick and easy, rooms were very clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Normal breakfast, but the staff managing the breakfast was friendly, kept food re-filled and fresh, kept tables and area clean. Very quiet location. Close to restaurants and shopping. Price was right, and will definitely stay here again.
I have never traveled to this part of Alabama as we brought our boys cross country team from Dacula, GA for a race. This hotel is in the middle of mostly nowhere and there was some construction going on all around it but the customer service and quality of our stay was very good. Seyma was my contact from beginning to end and she was fantastic. It was a good team hotel with a fair price.
we felt welcomed and at home at this wonderful hotel...plan to return. the staff was very helpful and the free breakfast was delicious. It's dog and cat friendly but I didn't bring my pet. No traces of pet odor in my room or in the hotel in general!
Hotel was average in quality and amenities was there. Clean room just remodled, had fridge but no microwave. Eating places was in good walking distance. Hotel staff was average and tried to be helpful but could look more professional .Internet was not as good as I needed, but I finally got what I needed completed.
Would like to thank management for the their services especially with the help of Marissa, Ashley, and Sherry. I would stay here again. Continental breakfast was prepares very well. No problems with anything. Cleaning service did an outstanding job keeping up with the cleaning of my room.
We were in Decatur to attend a funeral of a dear friend and were unable to find a dog sitter back home. So Fido came along and while we might have been able to leave him in the car during the service, it was way too hot that day to do so. We explained the situation the assistant general manager, Selma Njubigbo, and she said not to worry; she and all the staff have dogs and they would gladly care for our pooch. So not only did our dog, Gus, get a walk, he also enjoyed some dogie treats. We visit Decatur at least twice a year and this Best Western is our go to hotel for all future overnights.
I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the hotel and the friendliness and professionalism of the staff. I would definitely stay here again. It was a little off our course of travel, but worth the detour.
We had to make a last minute trip to AL for a funeral. Not having any one to watch our sixteen year old dog, we had to bring him. The manager was so nice to see that our dog was safe while we were gone for a couple of hours. Can't say enough about the wonderful staff here. Nice rooms too. This will be our new home when we visit Decatur AL.
My wife and I stayed here for a last minute, one night getaway for our 17th anniversary. Long story short, we enjoyed our stay. Room and staff were very nice. The bed was a little firm for my liking, and the AC could've been colder. The AC goes down to 60, but I like a room as cold as a meat locker and a mattress so thick with memory foam, it reminds me of every stupid thing I've done or said since the age of 11. Don't judge me....
It's clean and comfortable but what sets this place apart from most other hotels I've stayed at is the staff. They are very attentive, very professional and very pleasant. I wish I could transplant them to some of the places I stay at more regularly. This hotel is a bit more expensive than some others in the area but it's worth the extra cost. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
We stayed at the Best Western July 12 - 14, 2016. We arrived very late in the evening and the hotel was packed for an area tournament. We were given a room on the third floor that smelled of mildew, the bathroom ceiling tiles were stained with mold/mildew (photo below), the toilet area and adjacent wall had brown and yellow stains, bedside table was sticky, etc. We asked for a new room and showed the clerk our issues. He was so kind and immediately agreed the room did not meet their standards. We were given a room on the first floor. It appeared cleaner than the first and being so late, we took the room. The smoke/CO detector on the wall near the entrance was beeping so my husband had the clerk come again. Switched the batteries out and an hour later the beeping stopped. My daughter went to take a shower and the tub would not drain - she was ankle deep in water and long hair - not hers. The toilet also did not flush properly. Curtains in our room were stained (photo below). When we went to bed, we found the sheets and mattress pad were stained (photo below). At that hour, there was nothing we could do and no rooms left, so we stayed. Up early the next morning and spoke with the desk about the plumbing issues. The manager was just mortified and apologized and comped one night of our stay. With the entire hotel booked, there was no other room available so we set out to find a different hotel. Everything in the area was booked! Finally found a room, for the night of the 14th, in Huntsville at the Springhill Suites (recently opened) for $109/night we were paying $114/night at the Best Western. Overall, I felt very safe, parking lot was well lit, food was close by, easy on/off the main road, the staff was great and never once gave us a hard time when we pointed out issues - they did everything they could to help us but being fully booked had no where else to put us. Last to arrive gets what's left! Other people we talked to also had issues with mold/mildew and left for other hotels, but many had clean rooms and working plumbing. Would I stay here again? Yes, but I'd ask to see the room or request a specific room number if you're familiar with the hotel.
All of our trips lo the Best Western in Decatur, AL are always special for many reasons. The customer service, comfort, and quality of stay are just some of the reasons. One of our main reasons for staying at Best Western River City, it is that our 11 year old cockapoo loves riding on the bell carts and being a bel dog. This trip was extra special because 6 months ago, she was diagnosed with adrenal cancer and one given least than one month to live. She is still kicking and enjoying her life. Her vet told us give her what she wants and to let her do what she loves. Thank you, Best Western River City. We would like to also thank Marie Allen for her customer service excellence.
Our family stayed one night on our way south to Florida. We checked in, went to our room and found that our adjoining door didn't lock. We called the front desk and they were so kind and got us another room. We then needed more towels and again, they were so accommodating. The next morning at breakfast the staff went above and beyond. I believe this is the best customer service I have ever had in all my years of staying places. Everyone was friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed. I know we won't be heading in that direction again, but if we were would stay again! The facilities were clean, however some things slightly outdated. This really didn't matter to us due to the treatment we received.
Hotel is now smoke free. Yes! Rooms are always clean, this room needed update/remodel. Bed was pls and lumpy. AC worked great. Breakfast is always good here. Keep up the good work. Staff has gotten a little lacks lately. Hotel is centrally located for me so that is a plus.
The Decatur Best Western has some of the friendliest hotel staff I've eve encountered. They always had a "hello", a wave, asked about our event and seemed truly interested. I often don't eat the free hotel breakfasts but this breakfast was different. The eggs had plenty of flavor, biscuits tasted homemade, as did the afternoon cookies!
This is the second time I've stayed at this location. Each time, my family and I have stayed for the week and have had no issues what so ever!! the room was clean, the staff was great. Breakfast was great, actually much better than the average hotel breakfast. Great beds! Even with a lot of kids in the hotel, it was quiet We were in town for an event at the Jack Allen Soccer Complex. The location could not have been better. This hotel is a great choice for folks looking to save a few dollars without giving up any of the comfort you want when on the road. If you're going to an event at the Soccer Complex this is the nearest hotel. For driving, its easy in, easy out. I will definitely be back again when I'm in the area.
From GA and just traveling through. Decided to stay based on reviews. Great hotel! Clean room. staff friendly. Great breakfast....sausage gravy and biscuit was my fav. Would def. Recommend! Good rate.
Great place to stay with great staff. I stay weekly for business and it's very welcoming on arrival. Early morning hot complementary breakfast for those who leave early and don't have time to stop elsewhere. Beds are comfortable and relaxing. No in house Gym, but they do have a membership to a huge athletic center/gym. (Decatur Athletic Center) Similar to Gold's. But overall great place to stay with easy convenience to food and shopping. And did I mention the staff. Good ppl
We enjoyed our short stay in Decatur, AL on our way to Panama City Beach, FL. From our greeting upon arrival to our checkout was all great. Every employee was very outgoing and personable. They have a nice breakfast area and the food was great. Our room was very clean and well kept. We will stay here again if we ever pass through again. Thank you!!
This would be a much better Best Western if the location looked better. There is a really run down trailer and house right next to the hotel which does not make the hotel seem safe, and while we were there a guy was begging for money at the back entrance and it appeared he was trying to get into the hotel .Security was not too good. The staff was very nice and hotel was pretty clean, but lacking on amenities such as shampoo, etc.
This was our second visit here and it is still a great place to stay. Everyone we met was so friendly. Crystal who runs the breakfast area is top notch and such an asset to this hotel. One of the best breakfasts with many good choices. Rooms are clean, beds comfy, good AC that kept us cool. Room had fridge and microwave. Nice outdoor pool. The hotel is pet friendly and there is a large area to walk dogs. The hotel is close to many restaurants just a short drive away. We really enjoyed our stay here.
My girlfriend and I chose Best Western because of the jacuzzi tub in the room, and the full breakfast offered in the mornings. The AARP discount was another plus. We found the hotel staff to be very friendly, the room clean, and overall had a very nice experience. We have already discussed future trips together and will look for Best Western wherever we go.
Friendly and accommodating staff, comfortable beds, CLEAN, w/ small and appreciated perks you wouldn't expect from a smaller hotel. Very close to all shopping venues and within walking distance to Logan's Restaurant. Nice breakfast choices and small but clean outdoor pool for kids. Good family choice.
Decatur, Alabama is a very small town. There is nothing to do in there. We went there for a national cross country meet for my son. The hotel was ok, don't expect much. Friendly staff, affordable. Because of the national meet most of the hotels were sold out. They allowed us to bring our big dog and our room had a kitchen.
Room was nice and clean, we were in a handicap room as that was all that was left. Bed slept good, but could use newer pillows. Staff was super nice. Manager answered all our questions gave us a map to where we needed to go and recommend a good place to eat. Had to wait on them to finish cooking breakfast as there were a lot of people waiting to eat. Food was good just slow coming. All in all a good stay.
My mom and I travel with our dog Missy who was just receive a diagnosis of cancer 4 months ago. We were told by her doctors to do what she wants to do and feed her what she wants. That is why we like to stay at Best Western, the staff is wonderful, Missy gets to do what she loves in being a bell dog, and beds are fabulous. The Best Western River City is the best...We go to Decatur, AL to see my mom's cousin and listen to him preach. We always stay at this hotel and have a wonderful experience and this time was no exception. Thank you to the staff for a wonderful experience.
Really nothing to complain about, other reviews seem pretty much accurate. The only real issue we had was the pervasive smell of cigarette smoke in our room - clearly this hotel, at some point in the recent past, allowed smoking in the room and there was little effort made to either clean or replace the carpets. Rooms are terribly lacking in electrical outlets and/or USB ports for charging phones - the only way we could charge 2 phones at a time was to unplug one of the lamps. There's no TV guide anywhere in the room so finding the channel you wanted was a crapshoot. And the water in the shower, as is typical in many hotels, couldn't decide whether it wanted to be scalding hot or ice cold. The continental breakfast was typical and good enough that we didn't feel like skipping it and going out instead. The room was generally quiet, but the occupancy of the hotel was very low while we were there. Overall, we got what we paid for and I'd probably stay there again, though I'll know the next time to inspect the room before accepting it.
One of the few hotels left in the United States that are dog friendly they even have bones waiting at the front desk at check-in. Overall it is very nice best Western a small outdoor pool was clean. Breakfast was your typical fair of biscuits sausage gravy, sausage, eggs, potatoes, waffles that you can make, bagels, mini muffins, juices, coffee milk, fresh fruit, bagels, and yogurt. We stayed in the king suite room 303. Overall nice refrigerator froze the drinks and did not use the microwave. The only negative regarding this room is that the lights from the parking lot shine into the room and the drapes do not shut the light out. We always bring our pillows and I would recommend you to be the same as the pillows were rather lumpy. The employees were all very friendly and courteous. It was near all the restaurants. Out to the main road and take a right and you will hit fast food and sit down restaurants. Walk across the A small yard area to Logan's steakhouse. Overall I was very impressed as we normally do not stay at best westerns this one was one of the best.
Every employee that I came across was very friendly and kind and I felt that each of the employees, from the check- in staff to the cleaning staff, were sincerely wanting to make sure my stay was pleasant. I would recommend hotel based on the staff.
Great customer service. The staff is some of the friendliest and helpful we have ever experienced. From reservation to checkout, after extending our stay, they were excellent. I highly recommend this Hotel. Also excellent breakfast.
A bit difficult to find at night and in the rain. This hotel is next to Logan's Roadhouse. It also serves a great free hot breakfast and has free wireless internet. WE would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to friends.
Cannot say enough good things about this hotel! Best pet friendly hotel I've stayed at thus far. Very nice and clean rooms. Excellent breakfast. Shanna was great while making reservations. Lawrence was very friendly during check in and check out. Kristin kept our room neat and tidy. Lana was very pleasant each morning in the Commons area while she kept an eye on the breakfast items. Will definitely stay here again in the future!!!
This was the first time we traveled with our pet. We were so impressed with this facility! Clean, great people, and a treat for our Dachshund at the front desk! Thanks for making our travel with our dog much easier than we anticipated!
That's the best hotel to go to.. when I am in town Decatur al Best Western River Hotel I love their beds they too soft . I don't be wanting to wake up out the bed a big Thanks ???????????????????????????????? oh I am the cookie monster ????????
When I stay here I always get a great nights sleep. I am a BW Rewards number and get upgrades. I especially enjoy the big jacuzzi room. The cookies are great and the staff is very friendly. Thanks Seyma and Ms. Marie.
I stay here with my crew on a regular basis and every time we stay the service is wonderful and very personalized. They know us by name and it is nice to feel at home when we travel so much. Seyma is a wonderful help and always very courteous, polite and professional. We appreciate the clean rooms, wonderful breakfast and smiling faces such as Lawrence at the front desk. Always very happy and friendly. If you are staying in Decatur, this is the place to come and enjoy. We will continue to stay here. Thanks Best Western River City for your wonderful service.
After arriving late for my reservation at the best Western in Decatur al I was greeted by a wonderful staff..they made sure all my requests were met with a smile!! One employ in particular (Seyma) has gone above and beyond in every way to make sure my stay has been WONDERFUL!! I will make sure I stay nowhere else when I'm in town and highly recommend the Best Western in decatur!
Wow, I came in here after a stressed out drive and didn't know what to expect. The place was great. I met the front desk person and she was super friendly and made me forget about my drive. The rooms are reasonable, super comfortable and very clean. I woke up refreshed and went down to the kitchen and had great coffee and a tasty breakfast. If you are going through Decatur you must come here.
When I stay here the breakfast was amazing the front desk person was very polite I think the red head lad...very well mannered and the place was all together great.Perfect for family I will greatly come back I was a guest of the double tree but the employees at your hotel are just outstanding and very friendly that makes me want to come back even more and I greatly appreciate the Best Western... GOD BLESS and have a great day
They let us check in early and were very friendly and helpful to us. We will probably stay here the next time that we stay overnight in the area. Rooms were clean and the staff was friendly. The front desk person told us about places in the area that we could get a discount for dining by mentioning where we were staying.
I was very upset to note that we paid for a room with a king bed and a fold out couch, and when it came time to set up for the night, we were not provided with sheets or pillows for the fold out couch in the room. My husband had to go down and ask for some. In the morning when we went to take a shower, we also noted that there was only one towel in the whole room. Instead of wasting more time to go down to ask for more towels, the three of us shared a towel. I would expect in a room with a king bed and a fold out couch for there to be more than one towel in the room.
I was in town for business. After driving 6.5 hours, needless to say I was exhausted. The guests in the next room (with adjoining door) were either fighting or something else ALL NIGHT! The last argument between them was at 05:40 am. When front desk staff was told of the incident, they did not seem very sympathetic, and when told if the same guests were in that room for my second night stay, I wanted to move rooms I was told "I don't know about that, I will have to check with somebody on day shift" UNACCEPTABLE!!!
We had a one night stay for two adults and found the hotel to be clean, pretty decent location, pool and price was very fair. Breakfast was an added bonus, of hot eggs, sausage, fruits, plus the typical continental stuff. We would definitely stay here again if in the area for the overall value.
We spent last night at this Best Western, and to be honest, we were shocked at how much we enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and much larger than we expected. It had an extra upholstered "reading" chair, plus another table with two chairs for eating, etc. The bathroom was quite large, and there is also an extra "bar" sink, microwave, and refrigerator outside the bathroom. The staff have been delightful. Very welcoming front desk person last night, and we enjoyed the free hot cookies and coffee/tea that was in the lobby. This morning, the breakfast buffet had all sorts of cereals, breads, waffles, four types of juice, etc. The hot items included biscuits, sausage, gravy, two types of scrambled eggs, roasted potatoes, etc. The sweet, polite African-American lady who was in charge of breakfast was in constant movement - cleaning, refilling items, checking on everything. Very impressed by her work ethic! She could teach younger workers a thing or two! We have absolutely no complaints about our entire stay. So glad that we chose this Best Western. Great value for the money! (P.S. We came in from the north (from 65), and we were unfamiliar with the area. It didn't feel like there were any restaurants, etc. on our way in, but NO WORRIES! Just past the hotel, to the south, there are tons and tons of nice restaurants, movie theaters, fast food places, etc.) This is a great place to stop on the way to Florida.
On our way to Florida and stayed here. Got awesome rate (@$83 for 3 people, 2 double beds). Room was very clean and smelled good, which is a big deal for me. Though we were near the highway, the noise was not disturbing. Tons of places to eat. If you like Applebee's, you get a 10% discount with your room key (same deal with an IHOP down the road). Best thing for me..Starbucks down the road!! Would stay again for sure.
I have to come to the Decatur/Huntsville area at least once a month for business and I always stay at the BW River City Hotel. It's always clean and the staff is always friendly and accommodating even when I have made last minute reservations in the past, they have always strived to give me the best room at the best rate.
I was disappointed when a fellow traveler booked us into this hotel when there was a new mainstream property nearby. I was completely surprised by the staff, the cleanliness, the updates, and the value. Colleague also had a good experience. Happy to recommend.
I stayed at the Best Western in Decatur for two night on a trip to visit friends in the city where I lived nearly 40 years ago and it was a delightful experience. The room was very clean and comfortable and everyone on the staff that I dealt with was extremely warm, friendly and helpful! And I love Best Westerns breakfast buffet!
Nice hotel with a very helpful staff. Good breakfast items , not your average continental breakfast at most hotels. Great location with good restaurants and shopping. You definitely get your moneys worth.
I was on a business trip with a group that required some changes and adjustments. The hotel was very nice and modern, located near eating places and other conveniences and the staff was EXCELLENT and accommodating. They remained flexible to our needs and assured our comfort. I made reservations with the Manager Mrs. Kristi Huskey and she along with her staff Lawrence, Seyma, Hunter and Melissa went out of there way to ensure a Great Stay was had by all. I will definitely book this for our group again if for nothing else the hospitality and the awesome breakfast.
On our way to Golf Shores best half way spot for us coming from Ohio . We tired and ready to relax .Clerk @ the Desk name Lawrence made it most enjoyable and pleasant check in .Any question we had he gave his advise, we learned a lot in the short conversation we had with him ...if all places could be this much fun to check in I travel more ...on our way back home we stayed there again and we was so happy to see Lawrence there again this time he safe us little money with a coupon out of a magazine he told us about (he did not have to do that but he did ) ...I go there again welcoming....clean....quiet...fresh and good free Breakfast you cant beat it .Any Employer needs to know what a fantastic Employee the have so I am happy to write this review
My husband travels year round for business and I often join him with our toddler. The room we stayed in was adequate. The "kitchenette" is a microwave and a mini fridge. The staff was all pretty friendly- especially the ladies that work in the breakfast area. I have a few complaints however- 1) housekeeping ignores the do not disturb sign. Two mornings in a row they knocked on the door during my sons morning nap to ask if we were "staying over". I'm sure that is something they could have determined by contacting the front desk instead of banging on my door during my sons nap and then when I didn't answer the second time this occurred she just used her key and came in. Furthermore when they did clean the room they did a pretty poor job, we had a room with a jacuzzi tub and they didn't clean it, one time they only left us one clean towel (I placed the used ones on the floor so they would be replaced). I have included some photos of the tub and toilet *after* housecleaning services. We will not be returning even though my husband often comes to decatur on business we will utilize another hotel.
I work in Decatur, AL on a regular basis. Since I stayed at the Best Western River City Hotel the first time, it is the only hotel I have returned to every time I am in town. The rooms are always clean, the beds are super comfortable and the staff absolutely makes the place more than enjoyable. I hope you all stay here in the future as you will have a completely new respect for this hotel brand. I cannot say enough! Enjoy for yourself. Seyma, Lawrence, Heather, and the rest of the staff are great.
Recently, my wife and I relocated from FL to Minneapolis. That's a long drive, so we stayed at this Best Western on the way up. This was a great place to stay after a long day driving. The front desk staff was great, especially Lawrence, who was incredibly friendly and helpful. This property is located a very short walk from a Logan's Roadhouse, and it was nice not to have to drive to get dinner! I would definitely recommend staying here.
We often stay at Best Western hotels and are rarely disappointed. Great spacious clean room, comfortable bed, and a really good included hot breakfast. Very friendly front desk staff, reasonable price. Non-smoking hotels are important to us and this one is totally non-smoking. Easy access, convenient parking.
Very nice place, all clean and tidy. All staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the young man that was setting up the breakfast area the morning we had to go to leave for work at 4:45am, we just stopped to get coffee and he nicely offered to bring out food items for us so we could have something to eat, we only had to work until 8am, so we would be back, but very nice of him to offer. This place understands customer service. Would recommend and go back if in town! Thanks
I recently stayed at the Best Western River City Hotel on business and found that everything about the hotel was well above average. The staff was very helpful, the room was clean, well furnished and quiet, breakfast was better than average, the price was certainly fair for value received. It's a bit off the interstate, but I will definitely stay here again.
Didn't have a reservation and arrived quite late due to declining to stay at another nearby hotel. Desk clerk was friendly and helpful. Room clean and comfortable. Breakfast above expectations; fresh and delicious -- good selection. Common areas are clean and roomy. Would stay here again without hesitation.
BW River City Hotel is a clean and pleasant place to stay. The staff is very helpful and the breakfast is very good. It is located on the main strip with many good restaurants close by, Next time in Decatur I would like to stay here again.
Don't let the distance from interstate keep you from this Gem.If you love Barbecue eat at Bob Gibson's it finger licking good.Staff and hotel were excellent. Breakfast lady was so nice.they have a lot of restaurants nearby
I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Decatur or as a stop on their way to another destination. It was a great hotel, very clean, great breakfast, and a caring staff. Cookies were offered, gave my daughters a place to run and everything was how we would expect it to be and above in some areas. Great stay!
The room was up to the usual Best Western standards. The bathroom was exceptional. NO STEP shower with flexible hose and even a shower chair. The breakfast was one of the best yet almost the same as Best Western in Silver Springs FL that I reported on last week...BUT this one had GRITS !!!!
Only stayed one night while en-route to Nashville. The hotel was very quiet, very clean and a pleasure to stay in. Rates are reasonable and competitive to other hotels in the area. We highly recommend this hotel to the traveler passing through or staying in Decateur
We stayed at the BW River City Hotel four years ago and liked it and the location enough to stay there again this year as we passed through Decatur, AL. The hotel is easy to find and access, far enough off the road so all the rooms are quiet, the staff is friendly and helpful, breakfast is good, beds are comfortable and we had a couch in the sitting area. There is lots of great light for putting on make-up in the bath, but the bathroom itself could use some TLC and an upgrade. When we checked out, we commented that there were some ants in our first floor room and were told by the desk clerk that it would be taken care of immediately. We got an email from the manager thanking us for the info and telling us that it had been resolved. That kind of personal attention is what will take us back there again.
We stayed here last night. It is about 5 miles off I-65 but the room costs less. We got a coupon at a rest stop and the cost was under $80. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They suggested a local restaurant to eat at and gave us good directions on how to get there. The room was very clean and good size. The exterior and interior are very well maintained. They offer a free hot breakfast. If I come to Decatur again I will definitely stay here again.
We stay here very often and have always been greeted with friendly staff and any problems (which have been few) were addressed and resolved right away. We will absolutely continue staying at this location anytime we need accommodations! :)
Now, I could go on about Lawrence at the front desk, but all you have to know he goes beyond expectations when it comes to assisting guest. Also, I was impressed with the bathroom. It look like it had just been renovated.
A little out of the way from Interstate 65 but worth the drive to save $30. Night time check in clerk was a little impolite but still managed to do his job adequately. Room was clean and sufficient for a one night stay on the way to the Gulf coast.
