Je m’inscris This hotels customer service and amenities fall well below where they used to be as I have stayed frequently in the past but won't be staying again. My girlfriend and I tried to have a short 2-day getaway for us to relax so we booked a suite. The amenities in the suite were dated and there was hair coming up the drain in the jetted tub every time it was drained then refilled. The drain did not even fit the tub due to a half-ass replacement so it always had a slow drain and needed to be replenished. We also lit a couple candles for an adult evening to enjoy or tapas and wine in the jetted tub and, when we blew the 2 candles out, the smoke from the wick caused a fire alarm to go off. The staff came up immediately and saw it was from the candles and there was no smoking or vaping in the room per their policies. They thanked us for giving access and we were obviously very apologetic, then they tried to sneak a $250 smoking charge on my bill which they refused to remove. I also spent 200 at Spa Benmarnicos on a sampler package for her and my 6 year old daughter could have done better painting her nails. This locations hotel and spa services used to be much better and they had great customer service. We won't be back.
This was one of the loveliest hotel stays we've experienced! From the in-room fireplace to high-quality toiletries, it was perfect. Most important: Room and common area were immaculate, staff was very professional. Other pluses: Great bedding, responsive temp control, Starbucks coffee. Highly recommend!
This is one great place to stay. The staff was always there with a smile, the bar area was cozy and had a nice selection of craft beers. Parking was the only negative point as we had to park in the city parking ramp, the city had a three to six dollar fee every time we left the hotel and drove.
Fantastic hotel. Great location. Staff was very friendly, helpful and professional . The room layout was great… offered everything needed. Beds were so comfortable. The bathroom layout was great with a wonderful shower! The restaurant was very nice and our food was so delicious. I would highly recommend a stay at this hotel!
I paid $350 for one night through a third party site, and the water faucet in the bathroom for room 201 did not work. When we called to have it fixed, they said there were no maintenance people in during the weekend. They still booked it for the next day to some other unsuspecting customer. Tried to use the shower to brush my teeth, the housing apparatus fell apart when I touched it. Spent 10 minutes reassembling it...because you know, no maintenance people. Arrived at 2 pm, one hour before 3 pm check in, to an empty lobby. Rooms were available, cost for early check in was still $25 extra. There was no breakfast or coffee, this was a two star hotel at best. Will not trust Priceline rating system, will not come back to a Best Western facility again.
The hotel was very clean, the staff were very nice. The whirlpool was open 24/7!! The parking was also very affordable and convenient next door over. The hotel was very quiet and the doors had great AC. The housekeeping staff was very friendly and kept the room in great order during our stay.
We, too, booked this hotel to attend the EAA Air venture Airshow in Oshkosh. Yes, it was expensive at an average of $500 per night (3 nights). That said, we expected excellence on all fronts. After reading all of the glowing reviews, we hesitated to write a negative one. But, as a long time TA reviewer, I felt readers needed to get the whole story when deciding to book this hotel. We arrived at 2 PM the day of our check-in. My first impression was that this was a modern city hotel on the corner of a main street. Parking was behind the hotel in a parking garage and was an additional daily charge. Guests are required to find the luggage cart and bring their bags up to the desk and room. When I approached the front desk, I was not welcomed warmly by either of the two ladies at the desk. I thought this was odd and quickly said hello. I told one of them that we were checking in for three days. She looked surprised and said check-in was three or 4 o'clock unless we agreed to pay an additional $25 to check in early. The same policy exists for a late checkout. After traveling for three hours across the country, I was tired and just wanted to check in, freshen up and get ready for a 45 minute drive to Oshkosh. I responded that I thought the policy was obnoxious for a hotel of this caliber. At which she shot back, “ hey, I'm just the messenger”. We left without checking in and went to the airshow. What the front desk personnel should have said is that their check in policy was three or 4 o'clock and that they would take my number and text me when a room was available. When we got back about six, the same lady checked us in. I asked specifically for a quiet room. She said that the room was away from the elevator, so I assumed that it was quiet. Once inside our double queen room, the first thing we noticed was a old “on the floor, under the window” noisy air conditioning unit. I had brought earplugs, so I didn't think it was a big deal. The room itself was well appointed and the beds and bedding. were good. The bathroom was also a nice size. The tub, a Jacuzzi style, was very high to get over safely to take a shower. I would recommend, at the very least, safety strips, be put on the bottom of these tubs to avoid slipping. We went to bed about 10:30. Both of us wore earplugs. The noise from the street started immediately and did not stop until 3:30 AM. We literally felt like we were in the middle of a speedway. Both of us did not sleep that night. The next morning, sleep deprived, I went to the front desk and encountered the same lady who checked us in. I told her we needed to move immediately and what our experience was the night before in room 311. She looked surprised and said that there were no other rooms available. However, she quickly said to me that she should pack our bags and put them on the bed. She promised to call, while we were at the airshow, if she was able to move us. I gave her my number and we left for the day. At 3:30 she called and said she had moved us to a room across the hall. We got back about 6 PM and found our things moved to room 308. On the desk was a personal note from the same lady apologizing for the trouble with a box of premium chocolates and two bottles of water. This was a classy move, and we appreciated it. The room was very quiet, and we were able to get the rest we needed for the remainder of our stay. In retrospect, I believe this hotel needs to rethink their early check-in and late check out fee policy. I have read several other TA reviews on this site and I'm not the only one who is put off by this. For the price we paid for this room, checking in an hour earlier should not have been a big deal. I also think guests should not have to ask for daily housekeeping services. We are long over Covid where this policy started. Housekeeping should be provided every day unless the guest declines. I feel the same way about the covid era take away breakfast boxes. They were available at this hotel for a fee, but, there is plenty of room to provide the guests with the same breakfast in the restaurant on site at a table.
Best experience ever! They even sent a text to ensure that everything was up to standards after we got to our room. Great hotel! Spa area was nice along with the whirlpool / hot tub! Loved it. We will definitely be staying here again when we come back.
We booked our room for the EAA Venture in OshKosh and we booked a suite as it was the only option left. It was very expensive for that week but the experience was well worth it. The room was very spacious and the bed was very comfy. The bathroom was huge and there's a whirlpool in the room to relax in. They also placed our Amazon package already in the room when we checked in. So nice to come back into our room after a long day out. We'll stay here again for our next EAA Venture!
This is the second time we have stayed at the Copperleaf, but won't be the last. Staff is very friendly, rooms are spotlessly clean and have all the amenities. It is conveniently located with its own restaurant and bar. Parking is available in an adjacent city parking garage.
The room was clean, no hair(s) on the bed or in the shower, a beautiful fireplace, and had all the great room amenities. Nothing was broken. Nice spacious lobby entrance and welcoming employees! This is what makes it a very nice stay! I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Copper Leaf is a unique property. Appletion is not a large metropolitan area, and Copper Leaf fills the need for a top-end place to stay. Rooms are comfy, even the basic king. Guest amentiies include access to a spa and a very high end restaurant with a corresponding bar. You can pull back and relax here, enjoying your stay with some extra options. Value for money is better than average.
My husband and I stayed at the CopperLeaf Hotel for our anniversary weekend. We were impressed! The staff was courteous, our suite was wonderful. The living space, a two-person jetted tub, and the electric fireplace spoiled us for the weekend. We also appreciated that the room was well sound insulated. The idyllic street during the Appleton Farmer's Market (highly recommend, about a block away from the hotel) that Saturday morning was a bit louder in the evening. The only reason we knew this was because we took an evening stroll for some Legendary ice cream (also recommend) and there were some pretty loud cars. We went to Rye the first night and enjoyed every bite. Handmade pasta, Waygu burger and the tower apps were an amazing treat. One of the best restaurant meals we've had in a while. If you're a foodie, don't miss it. My husband and I agreed that they were the best cheese curds we ever had and the blueberry chicken wings were amazing. And the desserts, goat cheese cheesecake and strawberry tiramisu were fabulous. I loved the presentation of the dishes as well. Last but definitely not least, the Spa BenMarNicos was a wonderful relaxation retreat. We were able to get a couples Lemongrass treatment. The spa wows upon sight, the lighting is fabulous, and the sanctuary room is well thought out with green tea, loose leaf tea, and little cookies. Our service was amazing and the ladies were lovely. Don't miss the spa. My husband and I love that we have found this gem of a hotel. Between the well appointed room and amenities, Rye's foodie paradise, and a top notch spa, this hotel I has everything you need for a staycation, vacation, or to celebrate a special occasion. We will definitely be back!
Beautiful clean place. Staff is awesome. You can just text them what you need and they bring it to the room. Love it. Will be heading back soon. The jacuzzi was so relaxing and the room was big enough to accommodate at lease 4 to 6 people. I highly recommend. The price was very good as well.
Fabulous suite in Downtown Appleton. Our expectations were exceeded. From the downtown location to the room's hot tub to the lovely realistic electric fireplace at the foot of the bed to the most comfortable bathrobes we have ever experienced.
Great location; comfortable stay. Walkable to restaurants and bars. Helpful staff. The in-room robes were welcome as well as the umbrella, since we had periodic rain that weekend.
Lovely hotel. Easily accessible to downtown restaurants, friendly staff, and comfortable room. Fitness center was nice, no pool if you're a lap swimmer, but a nice size hot tub for tired muscles. The room was well kept and clean. The coffee was Starbucks's Verona, which is a little strong for me, but the front desk graciously gave me more Creamer. The Rye restaurant and bar is attached and had delicious food. We were within walking distance of the farmers market. Both the downtown shops and market were a pleasure.
We generally search for boutique hotels and we surprised to find that Best Western had anything as luxurious as this one. The service was exceptional, and we had many requests and questions that were answered instantly, courteously, and professionally. Our room was larger than average and very comfortable, with a mini-fridge and microwave. The heating and cooling responded quickly and was more easily controlled that some of the most expensive hotels, and the location was excellent for us. We rated the room only "very good" because we would prefer a walk-in shower over a jetted tub, but that is just our preference. Based on our experience, we will look for other BW Premier hotels!
Wonderful boutique hotel in the heart of Appleton. Loved that you could walk to several coffee shops and restaurants directly from the hotel. The 24 hour whirlpool is a bonus. Would certainly consider staying here again!
For the amount you pay for the room, I was surprised that the sheets weren't softer. It's supposed to be a spa so I thought for sure the beds would align with that as far as comfort goes. It's very loud at night on the weekends. I ended up leaving at 10:30 and went home.
Some people are simply skilled in rudeness and not very self aware. First impressions are priceless but it never improved. We were not informed of breakfast option until checking out. Honestly I'm left wondering what I said that would cause such unpleasantness. It's a fine boutique hotel & the amenities are excellent.
We stayed at the Best Western Copperleaf Boutique Hotel on a Sunday. The hotel's restaurant and some other nearby restaurants/bars are closed on Sundays, but there are still some places to go. We asked if we could get an 11:30 checkout instead of 11:00 as we had spa services at the hotel booked for 12:15 the next day. We were told it would cost $25 extra for the 30 minutes, even with having multiple spa services booked at their hotel. The beds/ pillows were average (soft with a bump in the middle). If someone near your room is showering/ flushing the toilet, the plumbing is loud. Very thin walls ( we could hear vacuuming, talking, etc). The room was nice, and was clean. They had people washing the outside windows with equipment at 9am, but they did inform us of that when we checked in. Overall, the stay was average. Not my idea of a “boutique “ hotel.
The hotel states its check-in time: 3:00. We arrived at 2:15 hoping they could be a little reasonable and flexible. Nope. They required us to wait or pay an early check-in fee even though rooms were ready. A plaque in the lobby says their credo is to provide great guest services, but . . . We can afford the fee but we don't think BW really needs it. We wandered the streets for 45 min, then got cur keys. We despise such pettiness, especially when a place considers itself classy. That said: the place is very nice, well soundproofed, immaculate, comfortable bedding, great location, reasonably priced.
My wife and I travel often and spend approximately 70-80 nights per year in hotels. This has been the case since about 2010. We make frequent trips to the Appleton area as we have some business interests there. Being close to my wife's birthday, we booked a “Platinum Whirlpool Suite” (the nicest room shown available on their website) and my wife booked some spa services at their onsite spa. The Copperleaf was comparable to just about anything else in the price range. The rooms are a little dated, but otherwise clean. We did not try the restaurants. Because of weather (we wanted to get back home before a snowstorm hit the following day), my wife had to cancel her visit to the spa. This was a work visit for me, so I had other stuff to do. I arrived at the hotel at 2pm, hoping to check in a little early as I had a 3pm Zoom call with a business partner and vendor. I was advised by the front desk that there was a $25 charge to check in early. I expressed that I had never heard of that before. The front desk person responded with “Everyone is doing it”. I can say with certainty that NOT everyone is doing it. As mentioned at the beginning, we stay in hotels 70-80 nights per year and have NEVER been charged a fee to check in a little early. Obviously just a blatant money-grab by the hotel owners. This is the primary reason for my rating. What a horrible first impression this gave us and because of this, we won't be staying again at the Copperleaf for future visits to the Appleton area.
Everything was perfect. This is a beautiful high end hotel. The beds are comfortable, the products they use are excellent quality. It is quiet at night. The staff is extremely professional and friendly. If you are looking for a staycation with your significant other this is a must do.
Awesome staff. I an in a wheelchair, and bed height it very important. I was able to talk to and we came to the conclusion that taking the frame out it would make the bed better. We are hoing to be there again in August, and they said they would have the room ready to roll. Thank you to the Copperleaf in Appleton WI for going the extramile for us. Too bad we can't get more hotels to take notice, and make some simple changes. The disability family is always looking for these hotels that do that. Thanks again to the Copperleaf. I hope Best Western would consider that as a new corparate policy.
Quiet, cozy (read small room). Comfortable. We got a relax & renew package that was good quality. Chocolates and a bottle of wine in our room. Enjoyed the hot tub - was nice to use a hot tub rather than to try to relax in an atrium full of kids! Downtown Appleton was a lot of fun. Board and Brush, HomeBurger and Cleo's were a lot of fun!
The stay was relaxing and the staff was amazing. The woorl pools our room and the public one was vary nice. Everything was clean and well taking care of. Me and my feonsa really enjoyed our one night stay. I recommend for anyone and we definitely will plain one there again.
We stayed in the suite and it was well worth having the additional space, jetted tub and fireplace. The cleanliness of the room was fantastic also, the only minor issue was the water pressure. It was a waterfall shower head but seemed like it was plugged…
This hotel was amazing. The staff was friendly and welcoming and offered to help in any way we needed. The room was pristine, had lots of amenities, and was very comfortable. The location is great, very walkable to the adorable downtown areas and Lawrence University. I will stay here again on my next visit to Appleton.
The pillows were indeed spectacular. And this is coming from someone who is very particular about pillows. The room was very clean and the halls were always quiet and clean. I felt very safe in my room - which is always a plus. The staff were very friendly, polite and knowledgeable.
My husband and I received a gift certificate for this hotel and the onsite restaurant, Rye. We enjoyed our stay so much that we returned the next weekend and booked a second room for our daughters!! The rooms are nicely furnished with very comfortable beds and linens. Many of the rooms have upgraded bathrooms with vessel sinks and walk in showers. All staff that we encountered were very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is within walking distance to the Performing Arts Center, several restaurants and bars; and an especially nice coffee shop called Copper Rock. Parking is a short walk down the street in a ramp with minimal cost. The on-site restaurant, Rye is fantastic!! The only downside is that it's small and books up very quickly. There is no preference given to hotel guests, unfortunately. We were able to enjoy cocktails and superb food eating at the bar. We loved this hotel and restaurant and look forward to our next stay!
We have stayed many times since they opened. The little details that used to make things special aren't there anymore. No more cookies and coffee at check in and a $25 charge to check out at noon instead of 11:00. Also the faucet handle leaked.
The hotel itself was fine. Clean, comfortable and 24hr hot tub. The service was poor. When I say poor, we are talking about a clerk who went out of her way to refuse/deny requests. These requests were denied without any research into what was needed. I requested an HDMI cord, and to use the business center. The lady was in her 50s with an obvious minimal knowledge and understanding of computers so instead of checking with her manager she just denied my request. It's sad to see someone's “feelings” on a client request be the defining factor of refusal rather than listening to an expert (me) on computers and IT, or at least getting a superior involved to assist.
Top 3 most uncomfortable mattresses out of my years of hotel stays. That's including “budget” hotels. The hotel itself is nice enough. Staff is kind, room was clean. Loved having a nice restaurant and spa on site! Would never stay at the hotel again, however will be back to the spa and restaurant!
I enjoy the Courtyard Marriott on the river and have stayed there several times when in Appleton for business. My company moved operations downtown and highly recommended we stay at the Copperleaf. This is my second stay and I love it. The lobby staff, Martin this evening, are welcoming and helpful. The hotel is not only convenient to work, there are many nice places to eat, socialize and shop near. I especially enjoy the nice robes in the closet, the jetted tub, and the stocked minibar because my flight was late this evening. I only have positive things to say about the Courtyard but Copperleaf is showing how it goes above and beyond for a lower price. I am looking forward to trying out the spa on a future visit. I know the pandemic was hard on this industry and I appreciate outstanding service more than ever. Thank you!
I brought my wife for a surprise milestone birthday get away. Had a bottle of wine ordered for early arrival, and it was perfect. Location was spectacular for some simple strolling along the avenue. I also inquired about dinner location and was given a fabulous choice and recommended to have reservations.
The worst time in a hotel ever in life. I got a King Whirlpool suite for our anniversary . We had the whirlpool and an extra large room, comfortable bed and pillows. I go to turn. The whirlpool on water comes out for about 10 seconds or so, and all of a sudden the faucet flies up in the air, almost hitting the ceiling, landing inches from my head in the bottom of the whirlpool tub water started spraying all over me, my phone, which was right next to the whirlpool the bad where My Husband was laying and all of our clothes and bedding. I immediately called the front desk who had a housekeeper come in and then the front desk called to tell me they're not sure they can give my money back as I use Booking.com, and they had no more sweets left that I had to move down on the fourth floor to a small room with the most uncomfortable bed, and the most horrible pillows I have ever in my life encountered. My hair was soaked my lashes which I just paid $90 for were ruined and so was my night and anniversary. They told me I could get a free bottle of wine or champagne which I declined. I live a few blocks away. The only reason I wanted the suite was for the amenities and to be closer to downtown and not have to drive. I really would have expected more out of the hotel for my whole night being a disaster
We've previously stayed at the Paper Valley Hilton, and were pleased with our decision to jump across the street to this little boutique. ALL of the staff was gracious, efficient and knowledgeable, the hotel and room were immaculate, and the bed was super comfy for a great night's rest with effective black-out curtains. The restaurant, Rye, is what pulled us to the hotel for this stay; we had dinner there on our last trip and it was worth a return visit.
I have stayed several weeks at CopperLeaf as I have been working in thr area for the past 2 months. The large hot tub downstairs is relaxing, the fitness room definitely serves the purpose and the restaurant has some delicious food! The most important amenities for me are the jetted tub and faux fireplace in the room, which are perfect after a long work day. I would definitely recommend CopperLeaf and will be back to stay!!
Nice Hotel - Employees were friendly. Just watch for the charges. They place snacks and drinks in the room. I was charged for snacks. I brought my own food with me for a 4 day stay. Parking is $6 per day if you pay at the garage. The hotel said you can place it on the room. I agreed. She forgot to tell me the charge $8 per day.
Very nice hotel. Located right in the heart of downtown Appleton. Walking distance to the arts center, museums, and more. Lots of dining options close by, including one in the same building as the hotel, and fun places to hang out all around the area. Parking is in a city garage behind the hotel and was only $6 for the night. The hotel is nice, clean, and the staff was exceptionally polite and helpful. The room was well-kept, clean, and quiet. The bed was nice and comfortable. The room was on the small side compared to other hotels, but the quality of everything made up for the smaller space. It was perfect for the 2 of us. We had a very nice stay for an overnight visit to Appleton. We will definitely return.
Shawn, the guest service representative, was very welcoming, gracious, and professional. She welcomed us with a wonderful smile, which is always appreciated when checking-in to a hotel! She recognized us a Best Western Rewards members and provided two complimentary bottles of water. Nice! Peter, the General Manager, put forth extra effort to accommodate our early arrival request. Thank you, Peter! Karter, provided a pleasant departure, inquiring about the quality of our stay. The two-room suite was spacious, comfortable, and well appointed. We mentioned, relatively last-minute, that we were bringing our 8# teddy bear dog, Willa, (Bichon Frise/Shih Tzu Mix). We were accommodated with a room for pets. Willa was treated like a queen with a wonderful pet bed, ceramic water and food bowls, dog treats. Wonderful! We had a wonderful lunch at the Copper Rock Coffee Co, 1/2 block away on College Ave. Willa enjoyed walks to Jones Park, only a block away. All in all, a great stay.
Luxury all the way! The only convenient Mile of Music place to headquarter without a carnival atmosphere going on in the lobby. My fifth MILE and I have already secured a reservation for August 2024.
Very attentive to your needs and Wants Our go to place in Appleton. Very clean and Organizedrestaurants Are within walking distance. With a great 1 right next door. There's a parking garage right nearby. Which makes the whole stay very convenient.
The floor was wet from condensation, I'm presuming, by the utility in the corner of the bedroom. We had 4 people on the booking and room only had one washcloth and 2 hand towels when we arrived. The pull out sofa mattress was absolutely horrible. Could feel the bars entirely through the thin worn out mattress. Did not sleep well at all due to the uncomfortable bars and mattress. Nobody booking a 300 dollar a night room should have to sleep on such a crappy mattress.
I stayed there with 2 friends. I booked a room for 4 people. The room had a musty smell and there was mold on the walls!! The "queen "sofa bed barely fit 1 person and had no real mattress so felt like sleeping directly on bed springs! And we weren't allowed to bring in our own drinks.
Last minute stay and had no clue where I wanted to go and usually it's an IHG or Hilton property. This happened to pop up on my screen and once I read the reviews, I decided to stay here instead. I'm really glad I did. Beautiful hotel. You do have to pay parking to the city if you park on the parking deck behind the hotel but it's only around $6/day. From the check-in experience, eating at the attached restaurant which was fabulous to the comfort of the beds and furnishings in the room, it was a spectacular stay. There's even robes in the room too. Loved it. Will be back.
Everything was great. Desk staff superp. Housekeeping gets an A +. Thank you for making our 2 day stay so enjoyable. Parking is very easy too. Great location with bars and restaurants near by. Lobby bar.
Staff was incredibly rude. The hotel was very dirty literally garbage in our garbage bin. And went to turn the faucet on and the handle falls off. To top it off a friend woke up with bug bits all over! Do not stay here!
Had one day of business to do in Appleton traveling from Los Angeles. Hotel staff was great. Made it easy. Local places Jim‘s place is a throwback to another era. Cleo's has amazing old fashions. McFleshmans brewing was dedicating the Houdini mirror when I was there and I caught a short comedy show from local celebrity Dan Davies. The whole thing was a trip.
We usually like to do things spur of the moment. Therefore we usually choose somewhere local and trusted. The Copperleaf never dissapoints. Dinner at RYE and cocktails at their upper bar. Every now and then we will take advantage of the spa. Downtown Appleton always has fun stuff to do as well.
This hotel is low cost, but very elegant and accommodating, which is nice when you're looking on a budget! My boyfriend and I stayed here and had a date night. There's a bar and spa inside. I loved that the hot tub was on a lower floor to allow quiet and privacy. It also was open at all hours. The room was very clean and there's many snack or drink options. The tub had whirlpool jets and was amazing! There's a parking garage next door, so your vehicle will be safe and weather protected. There's multiple restaurants, bars and stores within walking distance. It was a lovely hotel and just one perfect memory of our night.
Loved this hotel! Room was great. Nice selection types of rooms. Great location in fun Downtown Appleton. Will make reservations for The Rye Restaurant ahead next time as they were booked up. Already booked next stay here!
Nice property with a 24 hr whirlpool, however this was our second stay here and the whirlpool was not hot and the quarter level was low. This was brought up to the front desk and never resolved and we were met with rude front desk staff/management.
Without a doubt, this is the best place around town. It is clean, organized, over the top amazing. Everything about staying here was great. Access to the 24/7 hot tub in the spa area was a huge hit with my husband as well. I couldn't say enough great things about this place, and it's so close to walk to grab dinner and drinks. Will be coming back again and again. The price is one of the best around, and you'd expect something semi-good, but you receive EXCELENT.
This is a very nice hotel. I wish the whirlpool issue was told to me in person and asked if it mattered. I could not get a room with one. Also someone's dog barked in the hallway. Over all it was clean and the bed was comfy. Did not experience any other issues.
Copper Leaf was not only a beautiful place to stay, the service was top notch! Located in the heart of Appleton and near some of the best restaurants, bars and entertainment, this has now become my "go to" place to stay!
Helpful staff, comfortable and clean room, all amenities worked well. The rooms are comfortable enough to come relax or do additional work after any daytime excursions. Great location in downtown Appleton, close to event centers, museums, restaurants, etc. if you want to explore. Didn't utilize the lounge or the restaurant but both seemed like they would be great.
This Hotel has many amenities with restaurants right outside its front door with a fantastic in house Restaurant called THE RYE. Multiple sports bars also with the convention center right next door. Great location
The hotel is very nice and loved the room. Parking is an issue but thankfully we didn't have to come and go. Bar closes at 10 kinda hard to have a night cap unless you pay a ridiculous amount for a drink in the room.
We stayed here the night of our wedding. We received a congratulations card with a bottle of wine to celebrate our wedding where it left us feeling like family! The room was beyond clean and welcoming and the beds were extremely comfortable! I wish we were staying there all week!
Checking the box for a bucket list item. My family and I wanted to see the Greenbay Packers play at Lambeau Field. Stayed at Copperleaf Boutique Hotel and Spa. It was about 30 minutes (without game day traffic)to Lambeau. Rooms were clean, large, and had fireplaces. Great location for walking around Appleton, WI. Everyone was super nice and helpful. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
Check in was good we loved the room. We had the jacuzzi tub and it was fantastic. We would defiantly recommend staying here. Close to restaurants and night life. park in the parking ramp behind the hotel.
We stayed at Copperleaf in Appleton for a wedding celebration nearby. It was clean, had high quality amenities and was roomy and comfortable. There was one safety hazard that injured our toddler - the wooden covering for the air conditioner was not secured to the wall and ended up falling on top of him when he grabbed it to steady himself. That was a bit scary as it fell on his neck and caused a large bruise and a bit of blood. Hoping Copperleaf can take that into consideration since families stay in their rooms - as a precaution. Other than that we definitely had a great stay.
We stayed in the king suite for our mini honey moon and enjoyed the spa, jacuzzi, and rye for dinner, everything was absolutely amazing. We enjoyed our stay 100%. It was great that everything was right close by. My only suggestion would be a small convenience store or a spot to get snacks and drinks in the hotel.
Convenient location to area venues for our stay. Within walking distant to all of the events planned for our stay. Extremely friendly front desk staff! Miss the complimentary cookies that were provided years ago.
Beautiful hotel and experience. Fantastic service. Everything was a TEN! Complimentary wine to help us celebrate our 40th Anniversary. Dinner at Rye. Walking distance to bars and entertainment. Fabulous!
A very comfortable bed. The hotel was quiet but there was some noise from the street. Our room was next to the street but most rooms are not. Nicely furnished and spacious. No free parking but it was only $7.
Clean, nice room, for my wife and myself in downtown Appleton, WI. Close to shops and restaurants in Downtown. Paid parking ramp behind the hotel; requested hotel to change my ticket to multiple "in and outs" for $7 per day vs. one time entry and pay. Would recommend this hotel for a change of pace vs standard national chain hotels.
We've stayed here many times over the years when it was not part of Best Western. We have to say that the hotel is going downhill. Dark rooms, poor lighting and our toilet paper holder just fell off the wall. The bed was decent and the staff was pleasant. The hotel is attached to Rye Restaurant which is a nice feature. Must say we were disappointed and will look for a different property to stay next time we're in the area.
Staff not accommodating to customer requests. Staff not knowledgeable about reservation systems. Poor customer service. Early checkout time if 11am is ver inconvenient to travel plans. Parking in detached garage not convenient and no discounted rate for hotel guests.
I booked a very expensive room with a whirlpool. My partner and I used it for less than an hour, we over filled it a little bit and used all our towels to clean up some water that made it to the floor. They are trying to bill almost 500 dollars
Average High cost. If you need your skin dried out, the bedding will help with that. The Water temp should go higher than Room temp. Wonderful view if you want to look at construction and a wall. The value simply isn't there for what I was charged.
Staff is amazing but our room was not completely clean. We found some random garbage that someone else left behind. Which was really gross. It's also good to note that if you get delivery that our delivery driver was sent to a random different location down the street. Mattresses are a bit hard.
I like smaller hotels that are walkable. While the rooms are on the small side they are furnished very nicely and have all the amenities. Staff was great and the adjoining restaurant The Rye was phenomenal.
Great hotel in downtown Appleton- awesome customer service. Use this hotel on every business trip when traveling there for work. Used others in the past but they seem to go above and beyond to insure that your stay is always enjoyable.
The location is excellent, it is located downtown Appleton so it is an easy walk to the local bars and restaurants. The hotel is beautiful and the staff were all friendly and welcoming. We will be staying there again!
The room itself was very clean and nicely decorated, the employees were kind and helpful. Its a great location if you had plans to go down college avenue and shop or if you were going to the preforming arts center. I was pretty satisfied with the room itself when it came to space and decore, one of the faucets in the bathroom were crooked (it worked just looked funny) and the Alexa was broken(which i wouldn't have minded but it was advertised as an amenity) There was construction on the building next door so when i opened my curtains the view wasnt very good. All and all it was a pretty pleasant stay just definitely not worth $210. Note: you need to park in the parking structure behind the hotel and pay to park, be careful if your coming and going out of it later at night there were homeless people sleeping in one of the elevators and i did see used needles in one of the corners
The staff and service is always exceptional, and the rooms are clean and beautiful. We are never disappointed- we utilised the midweek special and had a great, relaxing stay and enjoyed the gift certificate to the Rye that came with.
Traveled to Appleton with friends for my birthday. Staff was polite, helpful and so fun to chat with. I guess we left an impression with our St. Patrick's Day/birthday shenanigans, but the Copper Leaf staff was very good to us!
I booked this hotel for an overnight stay to go to the theater. It was really nicely located near the theater. The room was comfortable and event came with a jetted tub! It was an amenity I was not anticipating. Will definitely stay here again!
I was pretty disappointed in the lack of effort from the hotel in prepping our room for the package. I called to confirm and even got a call to confirm the package and nothing was ready for us. We had to call the front desk to tell them the wine and chocolates were missing after we were told it would be waiting for us in our room. The next day we went to have our massage and they had no information that we were doing the package with the hotel. The agent had to call the front desk to verify. I was then questioned 3 times if there was a voucher in the room and I explained nothing was there when we got there and had to call to get it sorted out. I then proceeded to wait in the spa for 15 minutes as they had to run it down to the spa. I understand these are little things however it really made the experience annoying. When I called to inquire how to ensure things would go smoothly by setting up the package I was basically told to just book it like normal and put info in the notes which was what I did. Then when we checked in they mentioned everything was ready in our room which nothing was. Then we called down to advise our room wasn't ready- they forgot the voucher which lead to almost double paying at the spa. Super irritating.
Not really a boutique hotel, just a better looking Best Western. It's the nosiest hotel I have ever stayed in. I would not recommend this hotel if your looking for a relaxing experience. Rooms are small, noise level is high but the location is good.
The Copperleaf is always my go-to place when staying in Appleton on business and when traveling with my customers. The location can not be beat. The staff is always efficient and helpful, ready to serve as needed. The rooms are clean and up-to-date with décor and amenities. The attached Rye Restaurant is an outstanding place for cocktails or dinner.
My wife and I scheduled a last-minute mini-vacation to the CopperLeaf. We chose this location for the Spa as well. We arrived and were immediately given our room, a silver suite with a whirlpool tub in the room. The room was very nice with a small sitting room upon entry. It had a couch, footrests, work station, and an area with a refrigerator, microwave, coffee machine, and plenty of glassware for water or wine. The bathroom was large with a walk-in shower. The bedroom had a very comfortable king-sized bed with an electric fireplace, TV, and whirlpool tub. I found the staff to be wonderful and helpful. The hotel does not have its own parking lot but there is a city parking structure right next to it. It only costs $5 for 4 hours and up. We parked there every evening with no issues. It was a very short walk from the parking entrance to the side entrance of the hotel. Maybe 30 steps. There is an adequate fitness center and a large jacuzzi on the lower level. They are open 24/7. All this for what I considered a very fair price. I will be planning a repeat trip to spend a bit more time at the spa on the lower level and will definitely stay here again.
Stayed at the hotel and then enjoyed the Spa next day. Wonderful experience. Everyone was very helpful for our first time there. Felt like we knew the place by the time we were both done. Definitely would go back.
We chose this hotel because of walking distance to the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center. The hotel charges you in excess of your booked rate rather than holding your credit card for add'l charges at checkout. I called when my card app notified me I was charged an excess of $80. Hotel said they will refund in 7-10 business days. I used the key to open the refrigerator. I hope they don't charge for that! When I called to question the excess charge the supervisor frequently talked over me. I suggested they advise patrons upon check in and the supervisor told me I agreed to the excess charge when I signed the check in paperwork. I got the impression I'm not the first to be unhappy about it and the supervisor's behavior of talking over me indicated she didn't care I was unhappy. Stay somewhere else. You have to park in the ramp either way and pay the parking fee. It's not included in your stay. When I asked why they didn't tell me at check in I could save $ on parking during our stay they replied they don't say anything because the don't want to undermine the city who owns the ramp.
This is a lovely hotel in a great location. Be aware, some of the desk personnel are prickly. In the past we have been thrilled with our stay. Recently we had some difficulty getting service on a broken item. Our king sized bed needed to be upgraded. Choose your room carefully (check the bed) and you will love your stay here.
If you are looking for a great place to stay and eat in Appleton look no further. My wife and I stayed here and the food was great at the Rye (bar and restaurant) in the same building as the hotel. We will definitely be back.
Nice place to stay right down town. There was no parking to the hotel so we had to park in a ramp and walk to hotel which was not great as it was cold out. During our stay their bar and restaurants were closed but we went to a pub down the street and they were great
Everything was above my expectations and the staff were SO professional AND kind. They were welcoming, and accommodating. The room was clean, high end furniture, and bedding. Well worth every penny that was spent there!
My sister's and I stayed here for the experience of the boutique hotel and also that it was very close to the PAC where we went to see Wicked. Awesome stay! Large whirlpool in the spa was very nice and open 24/7. Nice that it was a place with no pool and geared more towards grownups only. Nearby boutique shopping and quaint restaurants. Highly recommend Authors Kitchen and Bar for breakfast!
Stayed for one night while going to the PAC for Wicked, everyone was very friendly, hotel was very clean...only disappointment was they didn't include a breakfast with your stay. Parking was little confusing to figure out. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Will stay there again for sure,
We came down for Wicked at the PAC. We were a group of 4 sisters and a friend and we had a blast. Wish the bar and restaurant were open but understand it was a Sunday. Our suite was very nice and our handicap room was perfect.
The staff was very helpful and friendly, our room was very comfortable, serene surroundings - all located in the center of lively downtown Appleton! Hustle and bustle outside - calm and relaxing inside - I wish we could have stayed longer!
The suite we stayed in was beautiful. The location is great for downtown Appleton. Though we did not use the spa this trip, I would be excited to return for a spa package. We have eaten at RYE previously and the food is always delicious.
Love that the hotel is on the strip. Everything(bars, restaurants, performing arts centers, breweries) are all within walking distance. Parking ramp behind hotel. $5/day. Cozy room with fireplace. Comfy bed and pillows.
Hotel in walking distance to Lawrence University & lots of downtown shops & locally-owned restaurants. Parking garage next door $5 per day ($7 if you want in & out priveleges). Make sure to enjoy the farmer's market if you're there on a Saturday morning - they close a couple blocks down, & lots of locally made items for good prices, such as embroidered tea towels & street-fair food trucks.
Lovely hotel. Wonderfully helpful staff. Great great great restaurant. Menu was amazing and the food was top drawer. We'd definitely repeat. Centrally located. Parking next door in ramp. Didn't make use of Spa, but would do in the future.
We got the suite. Loved it. Couldn't hear the other guests like you can in other hotels. Great location downtown. Staff was very friendly. Loved the style, for couples our same age, was a little fancy
Decor was a little above average. It's definitely not a "boutique hotel" experience like advertised online. Price was high for what you get. The "massage" was a joke. Room was SMALL. It's on a noisy street, so sleep quality wasn't great either.
My S/O and I decided to take a mini vacay through Wisconsin and stayed at several hotels. This was the best hotel by far, we did not want to leave. Central to many restaurants and unique stores. We will definitely be back!
Best hotel I ever went to so far. My fiance and I was so surprised on how well the hotel was kept clean and very relaxing. Sound proof rooms hottub in room was so amazing. The front desk clerk was super nice and always willing to help us with what we needed. I give this hotel a 100% and will recomend this hotel to all my friends and family. WILL be comming back again. Love this hotel just so amazing.
Hotel is beautiful, front desk staff is impecable, and is unique! Being able to dine outside at the Rye Restaurant connected to hotel was delicious and unique. There is a spa I will try next time when I have more time.
The Copperleaf was a nice hotel, clean, fairly quiet and they can add unlimited parking to your bill which was a very nice option for us. We stayed because the hotel is downtown Appleton which was perfect for our three night stay. Our king room was a bit tight but big enough for the two of us. We would like to have the option for breakfast but being downtown finding some place to eat isn't an issue.
Everything was great and impressive. Because it's on college Ave the street noise is a little loud. Wish I would have turned white noise on the Alexa to drown it out but didn't think of that until morning. Parking was easier than expected and everything at the hotel was top notch. Walking distance to so much fun stuff. Was the perfect night away from the kids. Highly recommend for a quick night away if local.
What a lovely hotel! Beautiful room, excellent service, we highly recommend it. The staff was wonderful. I wish we had known to make a dinner reservation in advance. We didn't think of that, so we had to miss the restaurant, and it looked like it was great.
This was an absolutely beautiful hotel right in the center of town. The room was beautifully decorated and the beds were incredibly comfortable. It also has a lovely lobby and is nearby to many things in Appleton. I would say it might be the crown jewel of the city's hotels!
My wife and I recently spent a couple of days in Appleton for cycling and sightseeing. We found the Copperleaf to be the perfect spot for us. Staff is friendly and helpful, rooms were clean and comfortable, hot tub was great, location terrific and parking very reasonable.
Warm and friendly staff greeted us and the Rye restaurant had incredible food. Highly recommend staying. Hotel is located down town and within walking distance to a variety of stores and the performing arts center.
Got the platinum room. Fireplace didn't work just buzzed. When we called and the guy came to look at it, he told us just to not turn it on. Everyone else was super friendly but disappointed we paid for that room and the fireplace didn't even work..
My husband and I took a weekend away at the Copperleaf. The staff was great, rooms and facilities were very clean, but the bed was like sleeping on the floor. I expected better from such a nice hotel.
Traffic noise was awful till after 2 a.m. I wish we were forewarned. Beautiful hotel otherwise. We didn't use bar or restaurant but they were busy. Room was very clean and convenient being right downtown.
My partner and I stayed one night Saturday over Sunday hoping for a nice romantic getaway. Parking in a parking garage after dark was dreadful. Seriously, 7 dollars for parking for a night in the hotel? Make it free for your guests and watch the satisfaction go up. The room itself was dusty; bed sheets were old and worn out. The blanket and mirror had stains. The fitness center was closed. I looked forward to using it, and was disappointed we weren't notified about it before or at least during the check in. Supposedly relaxing time in the whirlpool was ruined by a group of 6 very drunk and very loud people who brought alcohol and speaker with loud music with them. At night we were woken up by some people yelling at each other in the hallway. Again, no intervention from the staff. The person in the next room had a horrible cough, and the thin walls just couldn't contain the noise. We had an impression we're staying in a cheap motel. This place is overpriced, overrated, and too far away from the mall.
Excellent Customer Service, Rooms clean, and bed was clean. The only set back was the rooms don't offer Netflix, old school cable telelvision. More towels could have been available in the suite. The overall aperance was clean and open, staff was friendly and out going. Parking ramp is behind building easy to enter and exit the main highway downtown Appleton. The parking ramp meters are aweful to use with a credit card, the machines don't read your cards.
Stayed here for two nights while on business. Attached restaurant (Rye) is absolutely fantastic, but small so get a reservation if you're going to eat during peak times. Motel smelled like vanilla cake throughout, room was clean and looked brand new. Staff was friendly and always greeted me. Site is a 5 min walk distance from a nice coffee shop, several bars/restaurants. Common areas are immaculate. Only reasons I gave it 4 stars: -Parking next door at a covered garage and is $5 for more than 4 hours of parking which is cheap, but would be nice if included in room rate. -Towels were almost abrasive instead of being softer. -Fireplace (artificial) made noises when I turned it on that sounded like the fan bearings were going out and it didnt generate any heat. -No included breakfast, but given COVID restrictions, I dont blame them.
From check-in to check-out the stay was wonderful. My husband and I were looking for a small get-away and this was the perfect place. We drove 2 hours for one night, the room was clean and a nice size. We stayed in the silver suite and well worth it. I would stay here again.
The rooms were beautiful, staff amazing . Only downfall is parking is off site and a little miserable in winter months . Valet options at this hotel for guests? ( if allowed by city?) I still would stay again having stated this .. just not as often as I may otherwise.
This was the hubby's and I second year spending our wedding anniversary here. We love the Ultimate Indulgence package, which includes a couples massage and this is the big draw for us. We are parents to an amazing toddler so we can't getaway often, so when it comes to our wedding anniversary this is the perfect staycation.
This was our first stay at Copperleaf and we had a great experience. The staff was so friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean, spacious, and had wonderful amenities, and we loved the lounge areas. We walked anywhere we went for the weekend and never had to take the car anywhere. We also ate at Rye and booked massages at BenMarNicos Spa and both were just as wonderful. We felt that the prices were very reasonable considering the quality of everything. We plan to come back for another weekend getaway.
My wife and I spent a night here for our anniversary. The property was absolutely gorgeous and the front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was a bit on the cluttered side and there wasn't much room to move around. The bed was also a little on the hard side for our liking. Overall it was a great stay and we will definitely stay again.
Hotel was beautiful and in a great location near restaurants and sites to see. The RYE restaurant that is attached has amazing food! Fitness room and Whirlpool were clean and had newer equipment and weights which was perfect!
We stayed one night at the Copper Leaf to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary. The staff members were all very friendly and helpful and the hotel and amenities were fantastic. So convenient to have a nice spa and amazing restaurant (Rye) within steps of the elevator. We will definitely be back!
I traveled here for work, but definitely want to come back with my wife - she would appreciate the decor and amenities, especially the large tub in the master in the suite. The area was very nice with lots of restaurants to chose from.
My husband and I were celebrating our 3 year anniversary and both of our birthdays. We booked the Romantic Getaway Package in a Platinum whirlpool fireplace suite and moments after walking into the room, I immediately regretted not booking 2 or 3 nights instead. Beautiful room, so comfortable, luxurious and clean! We'll definitely be back for future birthiversarys!
Loved it would most definitely recommend and stay here over and over we took our dog along with us everyone was nice and our room was absolutely gorgeous. I will be staying again and again. Please book here you will not be disappointed and very reasonable prices.
The Copperleaf is the only place I will stay in Appleton when I am there on business. This hotel always has exceptional service and attention to detail. Some amenities and services have been scaled back, due to COVID-19, but they do everything possible to make sure your stay is pleasant and comfortable. My customers always have great things to say when leaving about how much they like this hotel. Way better than staying at a standard chain hotel.
My wife and I booked a room at the Copperleaf for a staycation, and overall our stay didn't meet our expectations. Good parts: - Great lounge/bar. Drinks were great, bartender was excellent. We did not order food. Drinks and food were a bit pricey ($10 per drink), but hey, staycation, right? - The facility looks very nice and is clean. The lobby was welcoming and tidy, and the room looked nice. - Kind and courteous staff in the lobby. Not So Good Parts: - Our room was only on the 2nd floor, but when we walked into it, it felt like we were on the top floor of the Mall of America. If you get motion sickness, anything above the 1st floor would not be for you. - The bed was very hard, and the pillows were very deflated. I normally sleep pretty soundly, but I woke up a couple of times during the night and was pretty stiff by the morning. - The rooms weren't very well insulated for sound. The people in the room above us turned on their whirlpool and jets from midnight until 2:00 in the morning (which they have every right to do, and that's no big deal). But it was so loud in our room that it kept us up practically the whole time. It sounded like the whirlpool/jets were right next to us, instead of in the room on the next floor. - Lastly, a small thing - you have to pay for overnight parking in the parking ramp. Not a huge deal, but I kind of did a small double take when I found out. Overall I'm glad we gave the Copperleaf a go, but I doubt we'll stay again.
The hotel is beautiful. Room was very nice, and bed was comfortable. The room was very clean! We enjoyed this visit, and it wasn't long enough. We had a room with the fireplace, and it was so cozy! Hot outside, had the A/C turned on, so it was nice and cool, but very 'cozy'.
The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The bed was super comfortable. The room was very relaxing. The only negative thing was that we found a wad of hair in the bathroom and a garbage wrapper on the floor, under the bed.
My husband and I stayed in a Silver suite, and all was fine. The hotel was quiet, and the common whirlpool was outstanding. The shower was a bit run down and the parking in a nearby ramp is awkward, but reasonably priced. We would stay here again.
It was a good place to be for a quarantine stay very relaxing to get the mind off the current chaos, having Alexa play our favorites was as enjoyable as the whirlpool bath tub full of bubbles. Very comfortable beds
The location of this hotel makes it stand out. You can walk to just about any location in downtown Appleton. Since you have to pay for parking, leaving the car in the ramp and walking will save you a ton of money. The breakfast should be included in the price of the room since this is not a cheap hotel and the breakfast was the same thing that you get at other hotels for free. Booking online was disappointing & a little deceiving. It said we had a room with a jetted tub. I assumed jacuzzi, as I had stayed at this hotel in the past and had a beautiful suite with a 2 person jacuzzi. This room was a little disappointing in comparison- nothing special. The bathroom tub was jetted. I guess I should've read more carefully.
Great Sevice. Kind and Professional. Entry was clean and tidy with complementary refreshments available Wonderful Food. The Rye was one of our best meals, excellent atmosphere, service was prompt and pleasant.
when I'm in the Appleton/Neenah area, I will always stay at the Copperleaf Hotel! Great friendly staff. All types of restaurants and bars within walking distance to satisfy everyone! the free shuttles back and forth from the airport is a welcome bonus
We loved the options for hotel packages and we chose to enjoy the Relax and Renew package and used for a couples massage. Hotel is upscale, clean, quiet and central to everything in Appleton. We highly recommend and have already discussed making this a yearly trip
One block from performing arts center, surrounded by numerous places for dining, nightlife. Restaurant, bar, hot tub and spa on site. I highly recommend the hotel/wine tasting & cheese board package..
The hotel is well titled —- boutique. Midsized, elegant, highly oriented to hospitality and customer service. Cleanliness and room quality — the basic AND most important to me — is always excellent. The real difference maker at the Copperleaf is their people. So comfortable and welcoming. Great team and great experience.
Very good hotel, and an excellent location. Quiet, clean well kept rooms. Friendly staff. Breakfast was optional, but a good value at $10. Location right downtown can't be beaten. The Internet worked fine. Parking is a bit wonky, you need to go out and around the building, but it worked fine, and was not too much an inconvenience.
This is a nice hotel. I've stayed in a lot of cities, in a lot of hotels. It has nice decor, and the rooms are very clean. Staff is always nice and friendly, mini bar is reasonably priced and theres a lot of stuff in there! Each room has a very nice tub which is pretty awesome too. I recommend staying here.
We live in the Valley but needed a night away, we stayed at the Copperleaf and we really enjoyed our get way. The hotel was very clean and it smelled wonderful. A perfect escape! Walked College Ave and stopped at all the neat shops. A perfect mini vacation but close to home!
The staff was courteous and helpful. The room had a broken fireplace and there was quite a bit of noise outside and inside from 4 to 6 am on our side of the building. The microwave light would was on when we entered he room and did not shut off until we unplugged it. I do not know if these things were corrected since we only stayed one night.
Our first stay at the Copperleaf and I now look forward to more. We came in early for a matinée performance at the PAC and Bill was kind enough to arrange an early check in for us. The room was clean and inviting. It was quiet, comfortable and felt very secure providing us with everything we needed. Parking behind the hotel was convenient and cheap enough ($5). Everything is in walking distance . The staff was welcoming and always professional and courteous. Will definitely will stay here again.
Great gathering place with fireplace and bar. Nicely decorated comfortable beds. Just a beautiful downtown hotel and within walking distance to the performing arts center and shops and restaurants. Beautiful college town
First off, the pillows on the bed are horrible. You cannot sleep on a king sized bed with a pillow made for a 5 year old that goes completely flat the moment you lay your head down on it. Second of all, the TV does not allow you to change the brightness and or screen mode? WTH is that? The TV is do damn bright and right in your face that its nearly impossible to watch it with the lights off while trying to relax and go to bed. This is totally a setting on these TVs (I know since I have the same exact one) BUT ITS BLOCKED?! Thats horrible and should be changeable to the guests liking. THIRD - the AC unit in our room was RIDICULOUSLY loud. It sounded like a jet engine was taking flight right outside the room CONSTANTLY. If we turned it off, it was so ungodly hot in there that we could not sleep. BUT you could not sleep with the unit on... SOOOOO no sleep for me I guess. THIRD (and probably the most horrible on) THE ROOM CLEANING STAFF.... Absolutely horrible and I dont know why they 1. have their job and 2. are allowed to be interacting with guests. We checked in on Sunday, Monday morning they were banging on the door trying to clean the room WITH THE DO NOT DISTURB tag ON THE DOOR! Every morning this happened. We asked to have the bed made without the flat sheet, she made it with 2 flat sheets and tucked it in super freakin tight that you could not move the blankets on the bed. Taking a shower at 9am and here BANG BANG "house keeping open door!" While I was naked and trying to get dresses. Told them one moment please and was met with BANG BANG "open door!". I dont speak much spanish but enough to hear swearing while cleaning my room as I stood in the hallway waiting for them to make my bed that has barley been slept in, BUT APPARENTLY do not disturb doesnt mean anything at this hotel. Absolutely horrible and left a very bad taste in my mouth. Especially because they never smiled, never said excuse me, just never showed any sign of decent human behavior. Needless to say this happened every day of my stay and no tip was left for them in the room, and I always tip my room staff. Unfortunately I have to stay for business or I would stay elsewhere because of this behavior. It was rude, ignorant, and completely uncalled for. I personally have never been the biggest fan of this hotel (and I have stayed here QUITE A FEW TIMES) and it just keeps getting worse every time I stay.
Went here for a Romantic weekend. Got the Silver Suite indulgence package. Nice room. Bed was ok. Just a standard pillowtop. Not uncomfortable but not over the top either. Hotel was nice and clean. You can definitely hear the city traffic outside from the 5th floor, but it wasn't too bad. Check in and out was easy. Breakfast was included with the package and was a pretty typical hotel breakfast. Nothing to complain about though. Conveniently situated on the city strip. Lots of great bars and restaurants nearby. Overall nice stay.
The decor a vibe of the hotel is nice, even a bit upscale. The room was clean and had plenty of room. The Aveda products were a nice touch, as were the cookies at check-in. Limited room service menu, so we ended up ordering from a local pizza place. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were the kind that look fluffy till you lay your head on them....and then they completely flatten. If we stay here again, I'll be bringing a pillow from home. I didn't mind the parking which was cheap enough at $5 a night. Just be warned that you'll be carrying your bags so pack light or in a rolling bag. By comparison, downtown Madison hotels often have parking in the $20-25 rage, so this was fine. I was a little sad that there was no complimentary continental breakfast and the only free coffee was the little packet in the room. We've stayed at enough hotels, both chain and independent, and usually always have at least a basic continental breakfast included.
Decided to visit some friends in the Appleton area on short notice and our first choice for a place to stay is the Copperleaf. It isn't always the easiest place to get a room on short notice but we lucked out without planning this spur of the moment getaway. Would always recommend the Copperleaf for any type of getaway in the Appleton area. Plan to stay there in advance because they usually don't have extra rooms like this time for us.
We have stayed at Copperleaf at least once a year for the last ten years. To us it has been a destination hotel. We always looked forward to a weekend at the Copperleaf. The amenities, service and location made it a great value to us. If we had an issue, management was quick to resolve it. However it seems that Copperleaf may not be the destination hotel on our next weekend in Appleton. Some changes have been slight, but they add up, especially for a "Boutique" style hotel. The sum of these changes makes me think that we'll try another option on our next visit. Little things: In past visits you would arrive at your floor and walking to your suite you would smell Aveda Essential Oils, setting the mood that you are in for a special stay. This time the smell was replaced with one that was described best as "sour cotton candy". When we asked an employee about this we were told that they have had other comments about this, but ownership/upper management was looking to "cut corners" with something less expensive. Spa: Although I realize that Copperleaf does not own nor manage the on-site spa that's one floor down from the main lobby, it has always been a big draw for us. However when we called to make an appointment we were given a rate much higher than what was offered on our last stay. We were told that the spa now has higher "weekend" rates. Towels: In past stays the bath towels were very plush. This stay the towels were coarse and quality-wise not something that you should find in a "Boutique" hotel. More cost cutting I'm guessing. Coffee: In past stays the lobby had complimentary coffee available during most daytime hours. This time you better get your java before 11:30 or you are out of luck. Yes, the hotel has in-room coffee makers but only enough coffee for one person. Big Deal: Room Service. We left our room just before noon. There were two service carts right next to our door and room service personnel were there to greet us on our way out. However, when we got back that evening no one had cleaned our room. We called the front desk and asked why no one had been to our room. No response. I asked if we could at least get some more towels. They did send someone up with towels with an offer to clean the room, but we had to get ready for a function and would clean up ourselves. When we spoke to the front desk when we checked out the next day, the woman said that we should have said something to housekeeping when we left. Seriously? Do we now have to ask for room service even though housekeeping was right there, greeting us and cleaning the rooms right next to us? The women at the desk just looked at us stone faced and never even offered an appology. I mean I get things happen and most of this is small potatoes. But saying its our fault for not telling room service to clean our room is not something I would have expected to hear from a property thats always promoted itself as one that provides "personalized service in a warm inviting and unique atmosphere". Our next trip we will look at other options, even though we would have loved to continue using Copperleaf in our future trips to Appleton.
Perfect hotel for a stay in downtown Appleton. Close to everything, friendly staff and nice amenities. We have stayed at this hotel numerous times before they became affiliated with Best Western. The room we had this time had a few problems but overall I wouldn't judge the hotel on that.
Check in was a breeze with the very friendly staff We were with other to celebrate my daughter's wedding The room was very nice with comfortable bedding We had a small reception in the bar area *reserved for us" The buffet was good and the staff was very friendly We had soft drinks but a glass of wine was $12
Have stayed here many times and love it. Great location, rooms are always clean and welcoming. Great staff. I honestly can't say anything bad about this experience. Will definitely stay in this hotel again in the future.
Rooms are clean and large, decorated newly; receptionist friendly; Breakfast very good compared to other hotels in that price range; fitness and spa available Nice restaurant It is in the middle of the city and you can walk to many other restaurants
Booked for an anniversary night. Stayed in a whirlpool suite. The actual bedroom area is quite small because of the layout of the space. The suite consists 3 tiny rooms (bedroom, office, bathroom) connected by a long and rather dark hallway. I found a hair in the tub and disliked the lake flies that were in our room, as well. Beds were stiff for a boutique hotel. I disliked paying for breakfast and paying for parking the next morning. There was nothing that made this hotel special, other than the price.
This property is owned by Best Western and feels very chain-like. They also liberally apply an air freshener that smells like burnt brown sugar. The front desk staff was top notch when available though!
An effortless stay in a well appointed room / love the location with an active night life in the immediate area (a pleasant surprise for us) / highly recommended / friendly staff / enjoyed the modest but very nice workout room / much attention to detail / will stay again
