Best Western Queen Victoria Market Hotel

The location is walkable but it isn't the nicest neighborhood. So be safe. The rooms are clean and quiet. But there is zero storage. No drawers. No closet. So bring a backpack only. Also front desk might not be there. And if you don't have an international phone then you can't call them and you have to wait outside. The service was good and clean and quick. The front desk was nice and did give us a late checkout. So mixed feelings here

This was not a good experience. The location was great but everything else was way below 4-star standard. There was a window by the bed and looked into a courtyard and directly at another window. The manager was very rude.

To be honest, my initial thought on arrival outside this hotel was "Oh God" because the outside of this hotel is very very understated, just a really small sign with "Best Western Logo" identifies it as a hotel. Inside I was met with a reception area that was closed ( at the time I landed). Subsequently the room was very spacious, bed very comfortable, bathroom good size, instantaneous hot water, really clean, very quite as we were at back of building. (no view but that did not matter). Staff were very very helpful & efficient. Located a 3 minute walk to the top end of Queen Victoria Market (near the food hall). Take a 10 minute stroll and you are in the middle of CBD Melbourne. Overall once you get over the initial impression of the outside of this hotel, all is good inside. To be fair it is more of a guest house type establishment than a full fledged hotel.

We spent a night here last minute because our furniture was delayed when moving interstate. It was spotlessly clean, comfortable, and the shower was amazing. It was exactly the rest we needed before continuing the move.

Very clean and well equipped hotel. Location just off main city and it was good overall value. I think it is quite a new hotel. Very close to public transport. Two things to note. As the first reviewer notes the hotel is somewhat soulless with very bland colours and a tiny heartless seating area. Secondly they do not have a 24 hour desk. My plane arrived late and I turned up with literally no idea as to what to do to get the key. I think there needs to be increased clarity on this. I did finally get through to someone on the phone after a guest let me into the main office. On my exit four days later a receptionist was hounding me for my passport, but sadly I literally had to go or I would have missed my flight. A bit more clarity on getting key when no one on desk and a warmer general seating area would make this even better. Certainly not bad though and the room itself was very nice with fantastic views of the city.

I was expecting the Best Western brand to be a multi story building on the main road, instead it is a modest low rise one street back from the main street (Peel Street). I arrived late and grumpy and was soon in a big bed in a small room. Very new and very clean I was surprised at the tiny fridge that struggled to hold six cans of soft drink. A large screen television above the bed allowed access to You Tube and other common websites but I never figured out how to find 'free' TV. I also struggled with the air-conditioning controls so the room stayed at fifteen degrees. The next day I was less grumpy and the staff warmed to me and I to them. I was in town for work (and dancing at night) so was in the room to shower, change and sleep. I'd stay there again.

This was a very convenient place to stay in West Melbourne. It was near intersecting tram lines, close to most inner city places. It was clean and comfortable and a reasonable price.

Stayed here on the 3 & 4th June..New hotel,so was as expected,clean fresh and well maintained..Room was quite small,but bed was very comfortable ( 2 king singles pushed together),bathroom was a good size with big shower,that had a hand held head,as well as rain head.No wardtobe,but had a rail which had around 6 clothes hangers.. Connie who was at the front desk was amazimg,very helpful and nothing was to much trouble.Very easy.and seamless check-in.. Location of the hotel was great,a stones throw to the Vic Market ,and restaurants. We will be back in the future,and do recommend this hotel... 2 thumbs up...👍👍
