Best Western Plus Parkhotel Velbert

This is the worst and most terrible experience I ever had after all these years of business trips. Stayed in the hotel for 2 days and I did not smoke. The room was tidy when I left. I left on 13th, December. The hotel charge me 200 USD for cleaning of smoking after I left on 15th,December Sorry? Any proofs? Nothing! Nothing! Terrible! Disastrous experience ever!

The hotel was excellent. The reception staff were extremely helpful, the room was well appointed and very comfortable. Breakfast was very good, car parking was convenient secure. I will definitely be back

I really like it. Room was pretty big and clean. Breakfast was good as well, maybe a bit more selection of sweet pastry would have been better. I nice place to stay. There is also a restaurant that looked good.

A No star hotel sorry. I payed for two nights more than 430€ for a hotel that deserve at most a daily rate of 70€ euros. People are nice and professional but this is a extremely outdated hotel. I have stayed at Hyatt in the center of Düsseldorf paying less than this. I even got out one day before due to the fact the hotel is so poor in everything, had to pay for both nights. Sorry will not return.

The hotel was fine, but I can't accept being charged to park m car at a hotel in the middle of nowhere - rip-off!! Especially @ 15% of the room rate. The hotel was fine in all other respects, even if it does seem to be exploiting the business traveller somewhat. The room also lacked air-con, this meant having the window open and listening to the loud socialising noises coming from the outside patio area.

Since my last visit to this hotel they have enclosed the packing and now charge Euro7.50 per day. The hotel is clean and comfortable. We had two business dinners here and the food is excellent. The breakfast is also very good and includes a large array of natural options and of course, eggs, bacon and sausage.

I am visiting this Hotel a few times per year and I have to say I fell like home. Extra friendly staf who will learn your name and preferences. Very good and diverse breakfast, nice and clean rooms. Parking place and free wifi. A lot of conference rooms for business meetings. I will definitely recommend it.

Very friendly atmosphere, nice rooms and the staff are very friendly. Great bar at the reception area, very quiet area and relaxing. Breakfast just as you can expect, good and with many choices. Thanks to the staff.

Stayed here a few times over last few years hotel is fantastic apart from the amenities as a gym and health suite fanatic they never seem to have to jacuzzi working every time been there always they same sign OUT OF ORDER!!!!!

The bedroom is very roomy with a comfortable bed and space. Fast free wifi is also available. It has a 24h fitness center that is basicly equipped for cardio exercises but poorly for weightliftings. The breakfast is good with a cooker attending the requirements. The point to improve should be the heater system, it is not good in the room, it would need to be warmed to be really comfortable in Winter season.

great new service which include minibar and coffee in the room, roomy room's and perfectly clean, great breakfast and good location which is close to Essen, Duesseldorf and Wuppertal. Since i usually stay in Holiday Inn I am really amazed with the quality of these best western plus. you will see me again.

I stayed at the hotel for one night only prior to a business meeting in the town. The staff in check in were amazing. So polite and friendly. The room although quite basic was extremely clean and had everything I needed. I ate in the hotel restaurant and chose a pasta dish which was really tasty and again reasonably priced for hotel food. All in all a good stay and would recommend this hotel

As the hotel was getting old, and in need of redecoration the work performed was absolutely fantastic, rooms are spacious, really comfortable, toilets are brand new and more cosy. It really does not seem that you are in a normal 4 star. Staff is great as always and always willing to help you. Great for business but also for leisure

This is a nice hotel tucked in a residential area. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Check in and check out is a breeze and the staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. Breakfast is awesome with a broad range of offerings including American breakfast with eggs and sausage.

We stayed here for 9 days visiting our family in Velbert. The park behind the hotel is great for kids and we spent a lot of time there with our grand daughter. It is in easy walking distance to the town center, bakeries, bus station, etc. The room is modern with a very comfortable bed. The bath and shower is also excellent and features a heated floor. The hotel staff are very helpful and kind. I was especially thankful that Nina at the reception desk spoke excellent English. She was invaluable in helping us with restaurants, bus schedules, maps, and directions. The only thing we found a little annoying was the Internet access. Each day we must get a small receipt with a log on and password to connect. It would have been better to have one password for our whole visit.

Everything just fine for a business trip: - friendly welcome - clean and large room - good breakfast with large choice - free Wi-Fi - available parking - good restaurant - location is close to a nice green park nothing to complain

This is the best Best Western I have ever stayed in. On a quiet residential street. I get the impression this was a office building that was converted into hotel. It has spacious modern rooms and hallways. The breakfast room has full floor to ceiling windows peacefully looking at pine trees and grass. Breakfast was well stocked and fresh. This hotel is a bargain for the quality, probably due to being outside the city.

Arrived late as airline had a delay. Very nice personality at the front desk. Room is very new, clean and appropriate for a nice stay. Large bed comfortable, just the comforter is for a smaller bed. Four pillows with which to find one that suits you. Breakfast is great. I Would recommend this hotel to all.

Have stayed for 2 nights. Rooms are quite large. Shower is ok. Towels are a bit small :-) breakfast is very nice and reach. The hospitality is very kind and quick. You get free wifi. There is nice bar at the hotel. In summary good return fot the money ( 93 euros). There is also nice resturant at Velbert under the name of Da vinci.

Value for money is terrible. My father got stuck in the elevator, and even though he suffers from claustrophobia, they didnt even bother to offer him a bottle of water after rescue. Heating was off and outside -8 degrees. This hotel simply dont have empathy for their customers, but they charged the stupid water from the room at 3 euros a piece. We were expecting at least some compensation but in this hotel there was no such thing. Never Again. Not recommended...save your money and go somewhere else. Besides, outdated rooms and value for money terrible.

A nice hotel with exceptional service, they were undergoing renovations and to make up for the mess they gave a plastic construction hat to exchange for a free drink at the bar. Who said the Germans don't have a sense of humour.

Hotel is a dated run of the mill best western, thats it. Staff is not professional and really doesnt appear to care either. Work out room is a treadmill and a stationary bike. Could not get any fresh fruit in the morning, just lots of stale breads and MEAT, no bananas and wilted apples. Dinner buffet is boring and bland, more about bulk food rather than quality found in other hotels of region. Room carpet dirty, old style key system (key comes with VERy large key holder so you don't "lose your key"?? ) Wifi only works in room toilet or lobby, no good wine selection, etc etc..... noisy in morning, especially on garbage or recycle day, too many negatives to mention, go somewhere else and enjoy what Germany can really offer.

Very nice business hotel, Stephanie and Monique on reception we're very welcoming and spoke excellent English. The hotel is currently refurbishing its rooms and we we're offered an upgrade to one of these new rooms for €10 and they were worth every cent. Spacious, modern with a fabulous bathroom, desk, LED TV and good sized bed. The only reason for a 4 rather than a 5 was that there was no iron in the room and when I needed to use one, they we're all in use with other guests, small point maybe, but when you are out on business you don't always have the luxury of time. Once checked in we were given a novelty hard hat which could be exchanged for a drink at the bar as a way of saying thank you for understanding that refurbishment work was being carried out during our stay; we knew it was going on, but only because they told us as there was no impact on our stay. The restaurant has a great variety of food, as well as efficient and friendly service and was ideal for a business dinner. French doors at the back of the restaurant lead to a nice garden area, where the staff were happy to bring us drinks while we enjoyed the warm spring evening. Breakfast was buffet style with the usual tea and coffee bought to the table, it lacked a little of the style of the restaurant, but certainly had enough nice food to start your day off well. All in all a nice stay, I would recommend this hotel for both business and pleasure.

This is a good hotel, small bar and restaurant, the place never seems very busy. Rooms are a good standard, it is worth paying the extra 20 euros for the upgraded room. only problem is the is no late night food avaliable

Best Western hotels can vary, the Parkhotel Velbert is a good example. Our room was very comfortable and well appointed and all the staff helpful and friendly, special mention for the barman in the Skybar for the pizza when we arrived late. We were there for a wedding so not sure if the location is a popular holiday destination but if you're in the area I would recommend this hotel.
