Resumen de la reserva
This hotel was nasty hair in the bathroom, roaches in the refrigerator. I couldn't even wash due to the tub. The hotel manager when I reported these issues he was rude. My cousin went downstairs to get spray just to clean the toilet for him to use. I will never stay at this hotel again and I don't recommend it.
I checked in on Thursday August 1, 2024 and checked out on August 4,2024. I realized on Friday night. I didn't receive any room service that day. That night I called the front desk and requested room service for the following day Saturday. The next morning which was Saturday I stopped by the front desk on my way out. The manager/owner confirmed that my room was on the list for room service. I came back during the afternoon and took a nap. Later that evening I went out and asked the front desk worker about my room service. She looked at the list and she said it has my room receiving room service that day. I told her that was false. I invited her to my room to see the condition of my room. She said she would get me clean towels. When I returned later Saturday night, I noticed the worker made my bed, gave me new towels, and swept my floor. I appreciated that because this was not part of her job duties. When I checked out on Sunday morning, I expressed my concern about no room service during my stay. What really concerns me is why did the housekeeping staff said I received room service when I didn't.
The room was dirty and smelled strongly of cigarettes. We went to the Walmart across the street to buy cleaning products and air freshener and I cleaned the room. There were cigarette holes in the bedding. The window opened but had no screen and would not stay open. The hall also smelled strongly of cigarettes. The vending machine was empty. I did not report it because I have had issues reporting things to people who had access to my room before.
Hotel is within walking distance of a Walmart, and several fast food restaurants and there is a gas station right next to it. Lots of parking for big trucks or anyone that is towing anything. Staff is very friendly and the rooms are very clean.
Nothing interesting but a warm bed to sleep in.loud late night guests and condoms in the parking lot in the morning behind my car. (Gross) a loud group of African Americans woke the floor up with hollering at 3am. I figu this would happen .
Overall I would definitely stay here again. The room was priced low, but it was a good quality hotel. Free wifi, free continental breakfast (get there before 8am), microwave and refrigerator in room, and plenty of channels on cable TV. My only gripe was that the towels had hair on them and dingy/stained. Other than that, it was very clean. I felt safe. Also great location across the street from Walmart, DollarTree, fast foods, and gas station.
I asked housekeeping for clean linen and was told flat out told NO all I received was clean towels during my six day stay. The noise from nextdoor guest and dog barking late at night no sleep there. Will be doing the days inn from now on.
Booked 4 rooms, 7 folks, 4 days and 3 nights. Pros Great helpful staff. Comfy bed. Location Location Location !! Cons Updates needed!! Rooms were not properly cleaned. Stench in my boys room, Obvious food crumbs on foot rest, 2 lights not working, no hot shower water after 10am, hard bathing towels and wash clothes, low quality toiletries, toilet runs all day, food and beverages splattered everywhere, rusted fridge, temperature broken in fridge, dirty tub w ring, etc. This is not what I've experienced in the past w Best Western brand. I've stayed at this location for several years during the holidays when it was a Best Western exclusively. I'm highly disappointed.
Reasonably priced accommodations during a stay for baseball in Tarboro. Close enough to Rocky Mount to enjoy all of the great things that city has to offer! Good location on proximity to the interstate, or a slow country ride past the cotton fields on the way to Rocky Mount.
Family get together in Tarboro for 100 year old father's funeral and celebration. Hotel close to family home and very close to restaurants, gas and shopping necessities Was very easy to navigate around with all needs with close availability
Unfortunately, the rooms smell of mold and mildew. It was so very bad. I always check the mattress when I stay in a hotel and found the mattress was stained. I asked to be moved to another room and they did, however that room smelled like mold and mildew but not as bad. The AC did not cool very well either. I do not recommend this hotel.
Relocating to area and new place just not ready - stayed 2 nights in June and 2 in July in room 106 - breakfast was hot and actually good. The room was clean both times we stayed in it and everyone was extremely helpful from Jessica to the mgr. Being handicapped and in a wheelchair - I could have used a handicapped room but was totally exhausted so didn't care at that point. Have stayed twice, never saw a bedbug nor felt one. Other than the family of 5 running up and down the hall for breakfast, everything was great as usual. BC
The rooms were not cleaned thoroughly. There was random hair strands on the bathroom floor and tub that did not belong to any of us. All of the lights in the room did not work and the TV was very laggy and would shut off if you changed the channel more then 3 times. Overall a very disappointing experience.
For our one night stay, the hotel was great. The hotel's upkeep was excellent, and the room was spotless. The staff was really kind and professional. My expectations were exceeded by the accommodation.
The hotel itself was fine. I just don't feel that it should take a whole week to clear up a problem that the manager or cashier! Once I contacted the hotel a this matter action should have been taken right away. after all, the employees should pay close attention handling their guest's methods of payments!
Reasonably sized clean rooms. Fitness center, outdoor pool tiny. Staff helpful and pleasant. Allows dogs. A bit expensive for what they are offering. 20 miles from Rocky mount NC. Plenty of food choices nearby, Walmart across the street.
No pool open no breakfast ac units weren't blowing cold air. Back side of hotel very sketchy. Looks better in pictures the smell of animals was in the hallway. This was just not a great place to stay overall
Easy check-in, easy access and walking distance to fast food restaurants, gas stations, and stores. Close to the highway and about twenty minutes (20) going east to Rocky Mount, or west to Greenville, if you want to venture out.
Worst experience EVER!!! Horrible place to stay No breakfast as advertised, pool was closed in June in 95 degree weather had to go to the front desk for for simple things such as toilet paper and towels Leave the garbage in the hallway as there is no housekeeping service until you leave . The telephone was so disgusting (they do make cleaning wipes for that) I took it off the table with a towel as I did not want to touch it , drawers were dirty inside , as were the garbage cans Nasty!! Never Again !!
We stayed here during our team baseball game in Rocky mount. All other hotels were very expensive and this one was around 15 minutes from the stadium. We were very surprised with the quality and the services. I will definitely come back again.
First room smelled like cigarettes, was placed in another room where I found bed bugs in the bed when I woke up. When I reported to manager they said they could not refund me. No one should stay here.
Hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. Cleanliness and maintenance of the hotel were very good. Customer service are excellent. Hotel met our expectations. We would stay here again without a doubt t!
The hotel was fantastic for our stay of 3 nights . The room was clean and maintenance of the hotel were very good . Employees were very professional and courteous. The hotel exceeded my expectations .
Musty smell, ripped curtain, mold/mildew in shower, dirty light fixtures. Check in clerk was friendly however the check out clerk was not. No breakfast served as indicated on website and reservation. I would not stay again
Pull out couch covers were dirty. They had pee stains and doritos crumbs all over the bed. The employee gave me a vacuum and some balled up sheets, so I can do everything myself. Then I was in the lobby talking to a friend mentioning about my situation and she comes out yelling at me: that's unnecessary SIR and takes off before I could say anything back. Rooms looks like they are in the middle of construction with the differen paint patches in just 1 wall. Cealing are stain, almost like there is mold growing. The manager was no use. Another customer was telling us that the manager was even more rude than the employee. This hotel is 1 step away from beeing a crackhouse
I was bitten by bed bugs and the manager Sumir could care less. I have photos and after looking at past reviews this is an recurring problem that never gets properly addressed. Stayed in first morning no problem, second was bitten over 20 times didn't sleep nothing but 5 hours each morning. Save your family and money, stay elsewhere
Tables and dresser drrawers were broken and usable in several rooms. Cleanliness average. Found stagnet water left in the room coffee makes. Stayed with 8 family members in town for a funeral and did not have the time or priority in discuss with staff. Average hotel at best.
Alot of the guests seemed to be homeless. The heater was extremely loud. There was mold in the bathroom. The fridge/freezer had about a foot of ice in it. There was broken doors in the stairwell land up against the wall. This place was horrible, DO NOT STAY HERE!!
I was not expecting much as i have never stayed in Surestay brand before. I was pleasantly surprised with the hotel and the rooms. Nice location, friendly staff and clean and well maintained room. The furniture looked little dated though.
This is a nice and clean hotel with a convenient location. There is a bojangles right next to the hotel, which makes it very easy. The rooms were spacious and front desk staff was courteous and friendly.
The only thing worthwhile at this hotel was the front desk staff. They were attentive and very nice. Unfortunately that was about the only thing nice at this particular location. The room wasn't ready an hour after check in. It was extremely dirty, and rush cleaned (during a pandemic), not to mention all of the actual grossness within the room that housekeeping had no control of. From nonfunctional lighting, to broken furniture, the room had a little bit of a of it. The hallways weren't much better to look at with closet doors propped all over the hall, and rocks holding up appliances.
Room was dirty, towels were grey instead of white, bathroom smelled of urine, drywall was cracked and nasty. Duvet covers stained and gross. Looked like it was being renovated but I don't believe it actually was.
This hotel was so nice. I worked in a hotel for little over 2 yrs as a HK Supervisor and I was very pleased. Rooms were nice, beds comfortable and the staff was amazing! Will definitely stay here again!
This Hotel is a good convenience for shopping and food, but if you have food that needs to go into the fridge or freezer forget about it, they never defrost the freezer, and there is no dial to adjust the fridge. Also you have to completely check your room before accepting it. This was my last stay at this hotel.
This was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. There was mold all over the chairs, table, & ironing board. Plus, both bed linens had stains on them and the pillows. When we informed housekeeping, they didn't change them. Then when we told Front Desk, she brought us some bed linen to change them ourselves. Also, when taking a shower, the water went down so slow that it was coming up past our ankles.
The outdoor pool still not open in the middle of July and my children were super disappointed. No hot breakfast in the morning which is one of the reasons we chose to stay here. The room was okay but I don't think the floors have even been mopped as our feet were black after walking across the room. No one wants to take a fresh shower and have gross feet as they get in to bed. I know some of the other stuff is uncontrollable because of COVID but mop the floors in the rooms.
We've been staying at a lot of Best Westerns lately and this is in the top 90% at least. No problems at all and it's conveniently located. Good restaurants nearby and also gas station close. I'd stay there again and would recommend it, which is getting to be more rare as it seems that quality has been going down. This is a good place.
I have been staying here every week since January. Nice and clean rooms and friendly staff. The only complain i have is that they are not serving breakfast, but considering the current situation one can understand that.
Stayed at this hotel for the first time and will come back again for sure. Everything from outside lights to front desk to rooms were prefect. Can't ask for more in this little town. Highly recommend to fellow travelers.
This hotel is right off the exist and lots of food choices around it. The staff is very friendly and rooms are nice and clean. I spent lots of my time in break fast area working on my laptop and watching tv. its easier to collaborate with your colleagues when you can be in one place working.
I wasn't pleased at all, The wash clothe had hair in it (pubic), there was no breakfast or coffee, the freezer needed to be defrosted, and the refrigerator was turned all the way but wasn't cold, my wife likes this place because it's close to Walmart. Please checkout everything before you stay and lay.
The manger went above & beyond for our 1st meeting with kids and grand-kids after no contact from 12/28/19. Provided space, plates, utensils, constant attention for comfort. Clean rooms & dog friendly
This is a hotel that you can tell has been passed around from chain to chain. It is worn out. After awhile, you can't make them modern any longer despite remodeling. On top of that, it just wasn't fresh and clean. The smoke alarm ran out of batteries in the middle of the night. We went down to the front desk and replaced the batter. This should not happen. Batteries should be changed by staff on a regular basis as to avoid this nuisance. And in general, as for the staff, all I can say is they were there...
We stayed in this little town and really liked this well maintained facility. The parking lot was well lighted and that gave a feeling of security compared to other hotel in area we stopped by and decided to try this hotel. We were quite impressed with lobby and breakfast area when we entered and room was nice and cozy with hardwood floors. The breakfast was perfect in morning with lots of variety. We highly recommend this hotel compared to other hotels in this town.
Jessica at front desk was most helpful, housekeeping did a great job. Only concern was the temp setting on the room heating/ac unit. The settings were not very accurate, need some adjusting. I had to keep the temp set at 76 and it didn't reach that temperature at all. Didn't activate very often. Heat would come on for a few minutes, never completely warmed up room.
I have been staying at this hotel regularly. I love the new changes they have made right from the lobby to rooms and directv channels. The only grievance i have is that they should upload the pictures on websites as my family was not willing to come to this hotel when they looked at the older pictures. I was able to convince them though as i knew of the changes. Cant wait to be here again.
They are the BEST in Tarboro and beat any of the big box hotels in Rocky Mount and Greenville. You will LOVE everything they have to offer! Even during the upgrades to the hotel, they are readily available to take care of all a guests needs. They are super friendly, enjoying to be there and take care of every customer. Perfect location and great customer service....It can NOT be beat!
Very friendly environment and modern facility. Super cool staff. We had so much fun socializing with other guests during evening hours. The location is convenient and not far from I 95. Glad we stopped over here.
Nice and comfortable stay at this hotel. More breakfast choices than most of the bestwestern i have stayed in. Loved the break fast area and the trendy high chairs. The only issue was that the pool was closed though it was 70 degree.
This was a horrible place to stay. Dirty, dirty, dirty!!! The room smelled so bad to had to go to Walmart across the street to purchase a wall plug in. The sheets had food crumbs and hair on them and I had to request more sheets AND change them myself. Poor excuse for a hotel that charged me like we were at the Hilton! Don't charge me for a hotel room like your a 4 star hotel, you charge exactly like what you are....a 1 star hotel!
While the hotel it self was being renovated.. This room was by far the worse one we have ever stayed in. Toilet and refrigerator ran all night and the smoke room was awful! Never again will we stay here
There were not many choices for staying in Tarboro, NC. The hotel is undergoing renovations. The hallway floors were not completed and the breakfast area was not completed. The room was basically clean but rather tired looking. The carpet needs to be replaced and it was dark in the room, maybe that's why it looked tired. There was an electrical outlet hanging out of the wall. The fridge was very loud so I unplugged it. The next morning, I could hear ice fall off of the top of the freezer. When I went to look at it, I noticed that the floor of the cabinet that held the fridge and the microwave was filthy on the bottom of the cabinet. The TV guide did not match the TV stations and there was no guide on the TV to tell you what was on. The bed and pillows were comfy. The towels in the bathroom were thin and scratchy.
We stayed here on our recent visit and were extremely happy with overall service and quality of the room and location. The hotel is right off the exit with many food options around. The hotel staff is friendly and room was nice and clean, little dated though.
Cant say more about this hotel. From check in to check out, it was smooth. Nice lobby and good breakfast, comfortable beds and clean room and friendly staff. Front staff recommended some chicken biscuit place, which was just awesome !
I book this hotel for my family gathering every year. Over the years, i have seen things getting better and better. The customer service is exceptional, the rooms are nice and i love the new lobby and the breakfast area. Being a promoter of local business, i will not go to any other hotel in town or surrounding area.
I stayed over at this hotel on the way back from Florida. Nice and well maintained place compared to other places in town. I have stayed at choice hotel brand in this town and this hotel is much better and newer compared to anything available around. The staff is nice and friendly and rooms are very comfortable but little dated.
Coming to work to Kingsboro plant, i had no clue that this hotel was so close. I stayed at rocky mount for much higher price until my coworker recommended this hotel. The hotel is undergoing some renovation work, but overall it is excellent. When you enter it feels like you are entering a four star hotel. Very worth the price with the manager's reception in evening where you can socialize with other patrons. Looking forward to my stay next week.
Most of the management and front desk staff we know. We always spend time asking everyone about their month. They know us well, always asking about the ministries and trips we are involved with. A home away from home.
I always stay at this hotel after having a bad experience in a choice hotel in the town. Every visit i have noticed that the management is continuously improving the hotel and providing better services. I have noticed considerable difference over last few visits and i was really glad to see this hotel being remodeled. I can't wait to see the end product when i come back next month.
I reserved two rooms the weekend of August 30th. In one room, the microwave did not have a cord so it was unusable, you had to plug the lamp it for you to have light because the stem was broken. In my other room it was a open condom wrapper under the bedshirt. When first reported, the manager was at "supper" and we had to wait. Once the manager Samir returned we was told that because we did not report this immediately after check in ( we checked in around 5p, went directly to the pool with family and noticed the wrapper once we returned around 7, attempted to report the issue but was told to wait until he returned), that it was nothing he could do for us. I provided pictures of the location of the wrapper and the manager advised my husband and I that he did not believe us and walked off. The young lady from the front desk came to the room to retrieved the wrapper. If I had the option to leave right at that moment and check into another hotel, I would have. Per my recommendation, I had my entire family staying here for our family reunion (at least 10 rooms) and I was so disappointed about how we were treated by the manager. Next year, I will definitely recommend that we stay somewhere else.
This hotel is doing renovations that's not going to fix the problems that's just putting a band aid on it...the Hotel has a mold problem and need to be addressed. This is a problem and going unnoticed!!!
We stay here every year for labor day. The stay was comfortable as usual and staff always helpful and courteous. I removed one star as there was some mess due to the ongoing renovation. I cannot wait to go back next year to see this place renovated. From what i have seen so far, this is going to be a gem!
I have been coming to Tarboro and stayed happily many times at this hotel under a different trade name and management; it was so much cleaner, newer and sanitized, in my opinion. My most recent visit upon entering the hotel I smelled mold, like there was water damaged, which I asked immediately at check in. The clerk asked you smell something? I said yes mold and you smell it too, if I came in noticed it i said. There was no carpet in one part of the wing; exposed broken wiring outlets and exposed sprinkler wires throughout the corridor. In all fairness to the hotel, there was a small sign that they are renovating. However, there is no excuse for dirty bathrooms, sheets, blood-stained mattresses, soiled and moldy carpets, and bugs. I believe management is acutely all aware of the status of the hotel. Perhaps the happy hour in the lobby, is more important than the highly unsanitary conditions the hotel is currently in. Aside from the friendly staff (that is is reason for the star), this hotel reminds me of those sleazy hotels on 42nd Street in NY way back when Show World was open. Now on to my room, which was moldy and I was having trouble breathing in it so within 2 hours we had to be moved to another room, where I could breathe (Non smoking rooms of course). The next morning all management could do was apologize, when they should just closed down all-together and do a full renovation, no more band-aid jobs. I feel the highly visible rating of 93% they have posted at check-in is bogus. There is no more need to apologized please fix up your hotel.
First of all, I understand that this property has recently come under new management. But, there are many issues that need to be addressed immediately by this new management. Upon entering my room, I noticed it smelled like a damp, moldy, musty, basement. The outlet in the bedroom area of the SUITE was busted, the drawers to the dresser would not close due to the excessive moisture in the room, the stucco on the wall was peeling off the wall (again due to moisture) and there was a water stain on the ceiling that was approximately 6 ft long. To top it off, as I was sleeping, I woke at 3am to find a SLUG touching my Hand!!! I immediately went to the desk and told the female working the desk about it. She moved me to another room. Since it was late, and I had to leave the room early the next day, I was unable to fully examine the new room until the next evening. As I was preparing for bed I noticed mold in the bathroom near the tub and the walls were filthy. I shut off the lights knowing I would be checking out the next morning and I would be done with this hotel. With no background noise, that is when I noticed a "Drip, Drip, Drip" sound. Upon investigation, I found a golf ball sized hole in the water soaked, molded ceiling area behind the window curtains, which was where the water was dripping from!! At check out, I was waited on by the Manager. He stated they did not find any slugs in the first room, I told him I had pictures (I have attached it and other photos). I then proceeded to tell him about the water leak and mold in the second room, he wrote the information down, but at No Time, did I get an apology, or an offer of compensation for the condition of the unit and my trouble. Please reconsider staying here!!
All smiles and always asking if we needed anything and taking extra steps to see me smile. Made sure I was satisfied with my room. Love this place. This was a small town but near everything we needed or wanted. The pool was a much needed extra. It was clean and cool
I was little skeptical about staying here as i have never stayed in Surestay plus before. I walked in and checked in and when i started walking towards my room, i saw bare floor in the corridor. My initial thought was of checking out immediately, but we were too tired to do that. When we went inside the room, all my apprehensions about staying in this hotel disappeared. It was nice, clean and a cozy room. Breakfast in morning was good and having stayed in many Bestwestern hotels, i think it was way better than most of other places. We had a conversation with the front desk staff about the flooring on our way out and we were told that they were doing remodeling and redoing lobby and corridors. Overall very good experience other than the work going on.
First the good: Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Beds were soft but comfortable. That's about it. The bad: First room we could not get the air conditioner working. There was nobody that could fix it so we had to pack up and move rooms. We move to the new room on the second floor. Air is not much better. The hallway outside the door is like an oven. The drawers don't work or open. One drawer the face came off and fell to the floor and nearly crushed my daughters foot. The bathroom smelled like urine. For breakfast the milk was sour. I tried keeping things in perspective. It's a one night stay on our travels but I would never stay here again.
good service provided by the staff, very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself needs a few upgrades . The continental breakfast was a nice perk. Overall a pretty good stay. It was my first time sleeping at a Sure Stay hotel.
We stayed here for two nights. The hotel is good, but there was some renovation going on as we could see carpet removed in first floor corridor. This did not affect our stay in anyways though. The front desk staff was super friendly and rooms comfortable and nice. It was record breaking hot while we were there and we felt little hot in the corridor but the room was cold. Overall very satisfied.
The second floor was extremely hot the entire stay. When we first walked in the lobby I thought what a nice smell...only to figure out its covering the smell of marijuana from the second floor every night. There's a known prostitute that's still allowed to stay even after overdosing on drugs. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY LIKE I DID MINE!!
always welcoming and appreciates their guests. very close to everything we needed while there working. owner is very professional and helpful. As a business owner I feel comfortable using this hotel for myself and employees working in this area.
A place to sleep but that's about it! While my expectations were not really all that high, there was reason for it. Room was not cleaned very well. Multiple stains on carpet and upholstery. No bath towels. Foul odor from the AC unit. Cigarette bun in the bedspread. Thank goodness there were waffles for breakfast that was the highlight of the stay. It was simply not clean, well worn and looked like a tired hotel.
Staff was very nice, room clean, bathroom needed some wall work. Nice, but price was a little high for the room. I worked in the industry for 10 years, so I may be a little picky! Clean, just needed some work in bathroom and I got very little bars for good internet reception.
We were forced to stay here for two nights as our car had a breakdown on our way to Florida. There are just three hotels in this town and we decided to stay here on the recommendation of the local mechanic we spoke to. We are glad we stayed here. The hotel is clean and well lighted, free beer and wine on week day and very friendly and helpful staff!! The manager even gave us ride to nearby walmart as we needed somethings. We highly recommend this hotel to fellow travelers.
everything is nice, front desk service nice, rooms clean, breakfast service was good, don't complaint for nothing, good price, good location, parking lot nice, everything is close by, definitely we stay again!!!!!
The room was non-smoking but it smelled of smoke and musty/moldy air. Woke up and had bug bites all over me. Rooms are small, you walk in and the sink is at the door with separate toilet/shower. Breakfast was actually the best part of the stay.
We stayed at this hotel on our way to outer banks. Very relaxing and comfortable stay before heading to beach. Kids really loved being in pool and adults enjoyed the poolside gazebo. The only thing missing was Grill, which was being replaced. Overall an excellent stay for the price.
We stay here every year on the way to outer banks. We have seen a huge improvement in this hotel since we were here last. Front desk staff is very helpful and pleasant. The rooms were clean and bed very comfortable. Unfortunately, the pool was not open when we were there.
The bed was very comfortable and clean. The shower head was broken and required holding it. The shower drain was very slow and water backed up 5" (gross!). They would not give us another room for the second night. Will not stay here again
We meet friends here before our annual week in the Outer Banks and it is always fun. The facility was nice with a full complement of amenities in the room. The staff friendly and spoke excellent English. . Everything I want at this price. We plan to be back next year.
Unable to stay at a hotel for son's ECU graduation, we booked at this pet-friendly hotel for two nights. Only 30 minutes away from Greenville. It's an older hotel but staff work hard to keep it clean and assist guests. Our housekeeper, MaryLou was very sweet and did a great job on our room. Front Desk lady, Leslie, was also so sweet and accommodating! Even though the hotel was packed and busy, Leslie wanted to ensure we were having a good stay and was so courteous. Breakfast was sufficient and good to help us get on the road. Would stay again.
I have lived in all the three hotels/motels in this area. This one takes the toast. Excellent front desk staff, clean and comfortable rooms, lighted parking lot, guest laundry, complimentary manager special on week days, it is more of a Hilton experience.Lately, i have started living here even if i have to drive to rocky mount for work.
I was little surprised when i walked in the evening. There were bunch of people chatting and enjoying a drink - behold it was a manager's receptions !! I could not believe that i was in a best western and not a Hilton property. Who would have thought of complimentary wine, beer and snack in Tarboro?? I was very impressed withe the friendly staff, WiFi, Rooms and bed. The only complaint i had was that the pool was not open.
Breakfast selection was full! Options of waffles, eggs, sausage, gravy, biscuits, bagels, pastries, cereal, yogurt, juices, coffee, etc. I appreciated the variety also the bed was super comfortable and the staff were all helpful.
The town of Tarboro is a little treasure off of I-95; The sure stary/best western inn provides a top of the line experience for very low pricing. We are looking forward to staying here again. You feel like home.
I was at the hotel for few nights and i found staff to be very courteous and helpful. I did not have change for the washer and dryer, i could have walked to the gas station and used ATM to get some cash, but the front desk lady used change from her wallet as she did not want me to walk in the rain. I am extremely pleased by the service.
I hate giving unfavorable reviews but felt this one needs to be called out. Sink ran out onto the floor. Lots of it. Only two small bath towels so we used the bath mat to soak up the water. Toilet not connected well to the floor. Water dripping in the tub. No information on tv channels or surrounding eateries. Channel changer was almost impossible to read in semi dark surroundings with tiny buttons that make little sense. Worst of all, the sheets didn't fit on the bed correctly ( I think the elastic wasn't up to par) so I was up half the night trying to return the sheet back on the bed. I really really hate that. I got little sleep. We got in late, my husband was too tired to complain. We are still in the room. It's six in the morning. Hubby is still asleep so I'm just waiting... Can't tell you what breakfast is like, but I hope to God better than the room. One redeeming thing about our stay here was dinner. We had been to a Mexican restaurant in Tarboro before so we knew where to eat. La Rancherita was fantastic (one mile away). Our waitress Karina was amazing. Also my husband said the girl at the front desk of the hotel was very nice. Sorry Surestay.
I have stayed in most of the area hotels, including the ones in Rocky mount. By far this was the best experience. Very friendly staff, nice and clean rooms, on site laundry, cant ask for more in this area. A special thanks to the manager for arranging to deliver my parcel.
I have stayed in this hotel many times and i am glad that they finally have coin laundry. It really helps a road warrior like me to travel light and carry washed and good smelling clothes back home. One less thing to worry about on weekend.
Walls needed repairs, dust was everywhere in the room that was listed as clean. Hallways smell like cigarette smoke and carpet could use some shampooing. Breakefast was decent. The noise outside of the hotel made it difficult to sleep.
I stayed at Surestay in Tarboro, NC for a total of 30 nights. I sold my home and was in the process of purchasing a townhome in another town. I initially stayed here because I could keep my pets. After just a few days I was so happy I had chose to stay at Surestay. Everyone is professional, friendly, helpful and just wonderful. I didn't really want to leave. I am disabled so they all helped me in anyway they could. Tarboro is a little town, quiet and friendly. I had to take one of my animals to a vet there and now I will travel that hour distance to continue to go to that vet. It would be nice if there were a few more sit down eating places there. Historical sites are nice. I know that the management changed last year and the current manager is so helpful and is working hard to make everything better.
Eggs, Biscuits and gravy every day for breakfast. Rooms clean, not that quiet. A guest stuck 13 of his friends into one room. They had to go into the hallway to use their phones, doors opening and closing non-stop. no lighting in the parking lot. Very Very Dark. Bring a flash light.
Comfortable stay and courteous staff. I have lived in many hotels in Rocky Mount area and for the price range, this is one of the best. Small southern town hospitality at its best. Will return again to this location.
I have stayed here four times in past 30 days. Every visit has been excellent. Helpful staff, quick check in/check out, 24 hours hot coffee and clean rooms with comfortable beds. This place is perfect for business travelers like me.
We arrived and found the rooms dirty and the AC not working. We requested a new room and upon inspection found bedbugs, needless to say we requested a refund and left. Luckily there were a few rooms available at the Quality Inn just down the street. 6 weeks later I am still trying to get a refund for the 2 nights I pre-paid for!
I have stayed at this hotel many times in past few years. Room is nice and bed comfortable. There was some issue with hot water on the day of checking out and i saw a plumbing company truck outside. Overall always a good experience.
My husband and I stayed here while visiting family for Thanksgiving. There was no heat in our room for the first 24 hours which was made worse by the fact that temperatures were in the 20's!!! We called the desk and the manager came up and was unable to fix it. He promised that first thing in the morning it would be fixed which we accepted because they had no other rooms available to move us to. By 10am the next morning it was so cold that my husband had to sit in the lobby to keep warm. Meanwhile, I'd taken note that there is a hole in the bottom of the tub and our sheets and comforter have what looks like cigarette burns in them! Also.... the entire second floor smells heavily of marijuana. The smoke was so heavy that we could smell it in our room, the hallway and the elevator. When we questioned the front desk about the manager sending someone to fix the heat, she said he had gone to get some sleep and had no knowledge of our heating issue. She also said that she had called the manager about 30 minutes earlier asking him to come check into some other complaints to no avail. I then called the Best Western customer service and advised of the situation. They were kind enough to contact the hotel and within an hour someone was there to fix the heat. At this point, we still had not seen the manager again. When I returned to the hotel later on that evening and asked him about a discount for the heat issue, the manager proceeded to berate me because I called Best Western and made him and the hotel look bad. He also said that since I had complained he could refuse to issue me any discount. I told him that would be fine. I would just make sure that Best Western was made aware so he went ahead and gave a discount for the first night. The manager was rude, loud, confrontational and highly unprofessional. Oh and cherry on top?? I dont believe that our sheets and pillow cases were changed while we were there.... we found the same cigarette holes each night smh. We will never stay at this hotel again!! A couple of pictures attached smh.
Eight of our family members stayed here during thanksgiving weekend. The front desk staff was very helpful and courteous. Rooms were nice and clean, fast internet and stable wifi connection. We decided this location as the comparable hotels in Rocky mount were very expensive and glad we stayed here.
Disappointed in cleanliness..room was very dusty, ledges, lamp shades, no paper in the morning, bare bones breakfast. We paid over 90 dollars for a mediocre room.. had to ask for a towel, a remote that worked and the ice machine didn't work on the 1st floor. Crossing off my travel list.
My husband and I were in town for a dog competition (Dalmatian Road Trial) and this hotel worked just perfect! The staff was very friendly and helpful and the room was clean and well equipped (with a microwave and refrigerator). Breakfast was delicious! Everything was at the proper temperature and replenished as soon as necessary. I would highly recommend this place and would not hesitate to book another stay here. Check in was quick and equally quick was check out!
Stayed with my kids for a weekend. Friendly staff and nice accommodation. The only thing i did not like was there was nothing for kids in the hotel. I was hoping that there would be some game arcade or play station at least. Overall good experience.
We stayed here for the wedding in October. The hotel was transitioning to new management company and we were impressed with their response and services. They went above and beyond to take care of all our needs.
I was on a business trip for a night. Friendly staff, clean rooms and fast check in. This location is off the 64 and very convenient to grab quick bites nearby after a long drive. I am planning to be back next month.
Stayed here on my way to the coast. Staff were local friendly, Room was spacious and clean. Wifi was enough to my family`s needs. Pool was well kept but I usually don't use pool once summer is over.. I tend to choose a place that offers breakfast when travelling with kids and the breakfast selections were sufficient and clean. I will recommend this place.
I don't know where to begin - vanity light out, phone not working, someone else's dirty washcloth hanging on the shower curtain rod, hair dryer bracket fell off the wall, bathroom light flashing like a strobe light (not good for a migraine), clock not working, coffee maker unplugged (because it doesn't shut off), the pool was green and filthy. BUT the worst...waking up in the morning and finding feces on the blanket (not the sheet, not the bedspread). I almost vomited. Complained to management and he blamed the lady at the reception desk. That room was to be renovated and shouldn't have been given to us. Mind you, he was in the lobby at the time we checked in. So we were given the suite - sweet, there was another used washcloth hanging on the shower curtain bar. Really?! Their 99.5% sanitation rating in their breakfast area? We watched the tables, counters and equipment get wiped down, with the same cloth with no washing or rinsing in between.
Great Hotel, Good breakfast, very well cleaned and sanitized. Great facility with great parking lot, comfortable rooms and outdoor pool. Hotel manager and staffs are very friendly. I and my husband enjoyed our stay here for 1 week and would definitely come back to here. I would highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Tarboro.
This place was a dump! My husband and I stayed here because we did not have a home when we got back to North Carolina because of hurricane Florence! I sat on the bed and it feel over l because the leg was missing!! There were large holes in the carpeting just before the air conditioning unit at the window and we were afraid to step there because we weren't sure if it would give out or not! There was no bathmat provided! I went to iron a blouse this morning prior to leaving, and there was an ironing board but no iron! In addition, it was filthy! I went behind the bed to plug in my charger, and was appalled at the amount of dust and small trash behind the bed! Generally, this was one of the worst hotels my husband and I ever stayed in! The carpet, towels, and bedding were all stained! If you want my suggestion, find another place to stay! In addition, they would not give me a refund because they said someone else booked the room for me even though they could not provide me with any information! So we still had to pay for two nights even though we were there only one!
Great hotel, took very good care of us. Would recommend to anyone visiting Tarboro. Good breakfast with 99.5 sanitation rating. You'd have a hard time getting that at any local restaurant. If you're looking for a hotel in Tarboro this is the one.
I felt at home every day of my 10 day stay. We are here for hurricane relief and every request has been met. The owner and staff are accommodating and the rooms are comfortable. I would highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Tarboro.
Enjoyed the stay had a good time! The breakfast is very good ! I also enjoyed the bed very comfortable and I was able to get goodnight sleep! Get staff they are very helpful and will go out there to make your stay worth wild! The manager, help me when I had a issue with the tv.
If I could give this place zero stars I would. First of all, One of the dresser drawers had womens underclothes in it.And they did not belong to us. Next another drawer in the room had Bojangles boxes left inside of it. The microwave had no nobbs on it. Therefore you couldn't turn the dials. And lastly the key to the door didn't work. I guess the cleaning staff just said screw cleaning that room. I wouldnt suggest anyone stay in this hell hole. Your better off spending the night in your car.
I stay there often, and it's the place to be. The front desk lady is always nice. The manager goes out of his way for his guests. We called for more towels and instead of saying, "come to the front desk" he personally brought them to the room. The rooms are always luxurious. The breakfast is always nice and hot. I've never had a problem here. I will definitely recommend this place to anybody. -Sam
I truly enjoyed my stay for family reunion there. Unfortunately my mother became I'll and I had to stay a couple of days after and was treated so nice by staff. I truly appreciate there personal touch and care. See you next year hopefully sooner.
Most of the staff was very polite and helpful. The pool didn't open until 10 a.m. which was a little disappointing. The continental breakfast had a good selection and stayed well stocked throughout the breakfast time.
I am in Tarboro frequently for business. This hotel is very convenient and the price is fair. Manager is friendly, helpful and welcoming. Hot breakfast on site and numerous restaurants within driving distance.
The staff and management are by far in my opinion goes to the extreme to acomadate their guest. I asked for a fan not for REASON that my room wasn't cool enough but I like a breeze blowing while I sleep, and what I experience was manager on duty not only acomadated me with my request he unplugged a fan that was in use for himself WIPED it down asked if he could carry it up to my room for me, right there showed me the staff here in Tarboro NC really goes that extra mile for their guest. ROOMS very clean as well as the dining room area... 5 stars with a "plus" I would like to say Thank You, Sincerely Keith
There are many choices to stay around I-95 corridor off Rocky Mount and we decided to stay at SureStay Plus in Tarboro and we couldnot be happier with our last minute choice. Best Service overall with warm hospitality and clean room and delicious breakfast.
We were quite disappointed with this hotel. People (adults, no less) kept yapping in the hallway after 11 p.m., and no one at the desk would answer the phone when I called to ask them to quieten the people. So we couldn't get to sleep until after midnight. Then we discovered the next morning that we had no shower curtain. Again, no one would answer at the desk, so we turned the shower head inward and kept the water off the floor as best we could, then cleaned up the water that got into the floor with our towels. Another problem was that the bed was so soft I rolled into my spouse--and the pillows were way too fat, which made our necks hurt. We're still wondering what the "Plus" means in the name since we didn't find any plusses.
The staff was nice. But there were no towels. I asked for towels several times and was told each time it would be thirty minutes. (we stayed two nights) When the room was cleaned housekeeping only left literally dry two towels (no wash towels or hand towels) We ended up buying towels so we can make it our event (we were still late for)
My husband and I stayed here for two nights while visiting Tarboro. We probably should have left as soon as we walked into the Lobby for the first time, and two staff members were in the midst of a fight, screaming at each other and pushing each other right in the main lobby in front of guests and multiple other staff members. The manager was just standing there watching them fight without trying to break up the fight or notify anyone that there was a fight in his main lobby. He seemed unsure of what to do but as a manager you need to do something! I felt very uncomfortable from the moment we walked in. I saw the same staff members, who were fighting in the lobby, working there throughout the rest of our three day stay.. We we were going to have the continental breakfast, but as soon as I walked into the breakfast area, I realized there were a ton of ants walking around in the bowl full of creamers. When I notified the manager, he threw those creamers away, and filled the same bowl with more creamers without even cleaning it - gross! There was also a homeless man sleeping in the middle of the breakfast room passed out on a table and no one did anything about it. The hotel room itself was fine, but I can't even talk about the room due to such a poor experience in the lobby and at breakfast. Needless to say, we will never be setting foot in this hotel again.
The room was comfortable but nothing special. Everything was satisfactory but the bathroom is small and cramped. Breakfast is basic again nothing special. Hardee's is just down the street so you have options. Nice pool
My family and I stayed at SureStay Plus on our way to outer bank vacation. We were first time guest and was really amazed by the hospitality. Hotel was clean, check-in was fast, breakfast was awsome. Will surely stay again!
Nice friendly people, help me with all of my needs nice breakfast in the morning. Clean outdoor pool for relaxing and just hanging out, all together great place to stay loved the soft king size bed I would stay again if ever back in town
My family was traveling from Missouri to the Outer Banks for vacation. We stopped here for the night. Lobby and room were very clean. One of the best hotel beds I have ever slept in! Breakfast was nice. The owner was out visiting guests making sure everyone was happy and asked multiple times if there was anything else he could do for us. He actually sat down and gave us some historical insights and tourist recommendations. Would absolutely recommend this hotel. Thank you very much! Was a pleasure.
Have stayed in this hotel several times over the years on the way to the beach and was always very pleased. However, this year it has transformed to a SureStay and is under new management and I was less than pleased. Everything in our room was unplugged (lamps, fridge, TV...I think it is there way to save power) and the room was very run down and dirty in comparison to when I stayed there last in Aug of 2017. The hallways were filthy and extremely hot. They had unplugged the hall air conditions and removed the knobs so they can't be turned on. Manager/Owner or whoever he was too much to deal with and kept insisting we give a review on trip advisor. So...my hope is that others like us who stay there yearly beach bound will see negative reviews and look for somewhere new to stay!
1st smell was cigarette, next were tools and vacuum in eating area on tables, no running water and not clean. We left 10 mins. and the hotel is refusing to talk to us about a refund. We have contacted the BBB and AAA because we booked through AAA about our concerns with this hotel.
We went there recently, the service was great, the hotel was luxury to stay in. The people that worked there was also friendly. The breakfast the next morning was amazing. I will definitely be going back there again, I had a wonderful time.
Room was basic but clean. Price was fair Breakfast was good. We had waffles and they also have juice. Bathroom was in good condition. Wifi was easy to connect. Manager upfront was very friendly. I would recommend for a economical stay
This little hotel is the perfect stop on the way to Outer Banks, NC. The staff was extremely nice and the breakfast was on par with the typical Hampton Inn and included in stay. For half the price of the Hampton or other hotels down a few exits down you can have a comfy bed and a friendly smile!
This place is a horrible place to stay the carpet was wet the smell of mildew filled the air. breakfast is cold the rooms are dirty there was no towels in the room when we got there the shower curtain was so dirty this place is disgusting and needs to be totally remodeled attached is a rating of F by the Better Business Bureau
My two day stay at this hotel was a nightmare. The smell of mildew hit me right when we entered the hallway. The hotel had a leaking pipe and the carpet was soiled with water that stayed there for days. This was a safety hazard!!!! My family and I had to tip toe through the water every time we went down stairs. The TV in our room didn't work so we informed Tammy at the front desk. She came to our room told us just pull out two wires and plug it back in and the tv will start working again????? Really??? This place is a disgrace!! The shower curtain was dirty. There is no manager on site Tammy at the front desk is maintenance, security, cook, and janitor. The hotel doors didn't lock and the manager lied and said it was fixed!! This is a lie!! I had to secure my doors with my suitcase to stay safe for two days!! Lastly, we had to call the police because a room next to us full of at least 7 teenagers were smoking marijuana!! First of all how does teenagers book a room??? Doesn't the room have a limit capacity??? My two day experience was like staying in a homeless shelter!!! My advice to anyone is to stay far away from this property!!!!! Disgusting!!!!
One of the best hotels out there. The customer service is great and the manager of the hotel always make sure that you are enjoying your stay. Check them out on your next vacation..... you will not be disappointed
Orville was my point of contact. He was very pleasant . I was wary of small town hotels, but when we arrived everything was clean, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean. FREE WIFI and Breakfast. We checked out at 5:30am and Orville gave us a breakfast care package for the road because breakfast wasn't until 6:30am. Above and beyond my expectations.. 5 STARS
We are on an extended business stay. Housekeeping is a nightmare! They do the bare minimum to get by and we have to ask for coffee packets or they mess up our key lock etc. The hotel is nice enough and relatively clean. There are so few choices in this area. Front desk lady named Tammy is very nice and has helped us with every issue that has arisen. Our room has no phone and we had to beg for a clock radio so we could see the time at night. Only one working ice machine and there is no ink in the “business center” printer. If you have to stay in Tarboro, this is the only decent place as far as we can tell. Now if the owners would pay more attention to the small details, their guests could have a better experience and give a more glowing report.
The service was great and the hospitality was even better. The rooms are clean and well kept. Price was great. There is a fridge and microwave in the room. Breakfast is free in the morning. We travel back and forth from VA and NC alot and having kids a hotel is a must for night travels. Thank you best Western for the amazing hospitality towards me and my family!
We had an extended stay, with other family joining us sometimes. The staff was very attentive, and they tried hard to please in every way. The room was fine; the beds very comfortable; mini-fridge & mircowave in room. The breakfast was very good, and we ate there every morning. The main reason we stayed here is because it was located close to where we needed to be. Across road from Walmart & Lowes; next-door to Exxon & BoJangles. This facility seems to be in transition---tall, big new sign in front of property installed while we were staying there. I noticed the desk clerk getting some new computer training; and the hotel installed security cameras during the time we were staying there. The desk clerk was especially good to us, can't say enough good about her. .... The only problem we had was the highway entry; driveway is right at gas station AND traffic light; very conjested, and coming from south making a left turn into property is horrible, nearly impossible without getting in accident. Best advice: use traffic light & street into BoJangles parking lot to make your way into this property.
Tammy at the front desk was super nice, friendly and helped make our stay enjoyable. Hotel was clean, staff was very helpful, breakfast was decent Welcoming lobby. Nice pet friendly place. Candle was nice touch on counter
Stayed here 2 nights to attend a funeral service. Bed was comfortable. Didn't eat the free breakfast but other family members said it was ok. Hotel needs updating. No hot water on our first day. Location is good close to shopping & food. Not far off Interstate 64.
Here at the SureStayPlus By BestWestern is a good and comfy place. I wake up every morning and have a great breakfast and is greeted by the staff. There is good housekeepers and good service. The manager is great and nice.
Rooms were very clean and beds are very comfortable. Owner of the hotel was very welcoming and the staff was very friendly. Breakfast bar exceeded my expectations including eggs, biscuits and gravy, sausage, fruit and waffles!
I was driving and my husband was making reservations he ended up talking to Expedia via phone in the car we thought we were getting a Best Western but ended up with a Sure Stay Plus (like what is that)? We needed a hotel that took dogs and this was what we ended up with. Expedia charged us like 78.00 dollars we thought that included the dog fee. We checked in and went into the room. The room definitely needed lots of repair. The bathroom shower/toilet is so small that when you open the door it bangs into the shower curtain and tub. Stain on the carpet you needed slippers for the rug. The towels did not match. Hair dryer did not work fortunately I brought one with me. We had a German cockroach was dead on the floor. Corner needed to be dusted. Lamp shade water stains. Pillows were poor. Sound proofing was terrible so easy hearing people in the hallway. My husband and I went out to dinner and when we returned we were stopped by the front desk to let us know we had not been charged for the 20.00 pet fee which made our WORN OUT room close to a 100.00. I also told the front desk at checkout the problems with the room and that I would be writing this. I have attached photos....please save yourself some headaches and keep driving to the next town. " Could not wait to leave in the morning. You could also tell that this hotel rented to people on a weekly basis.
We had a ball tournament close by and chose this hotel for the proximity to the ball field. Sissy at the front desk was the only good thing about the hotel. There was no hot water all weekend and their breakfast was gross.
Stayed at Surestay for a baseball tournament. Our room was very clean. Good size fridge. Ice maker works. Good mattress. Decent breakfast with a good waffle maker (kids love). The staff was very friendly and helpful. My son's pants got soaked when he left them in bathroom while he showered. Housekeeping let me use the dryer. Sissy at front desk was super friendly. Downside: bathroom smelled swampy. About what you'd expect for a property of this age at this elevation. I picked up a candle at Walmart (across the street) and that took care of it. This hotel was packed the second night of our stay and very noisy. But, staff kept public areas clean. There was a less than savory character yelling on his phone in the lobby when we checked in. But this was not representative of the rest of the clientele.
Arriving Friday night, we were given a room in which the key didn't work. Before she'd switch our rooms, she suggested that we keep the room and she'd just let us in and out. We told her no. Our second room wasn't any better. The TV wouldn't work and she couldn't fix it. After 30 minutes and a lot of frustration, I got it fixed. There was NO hot water Sunday morning at all so no showers for me or my son. There were stains on the ceiling and long hairs on the sheets when we turned down the bed. The room reeked of cigarette smoke although it was nonsmoking. The breakfast wasn't good either and the juice machine wouldn't work. We were totally disappointed and totally wasted our money. $185 is definitely extreme for what we got. A partial refund would've been nice but the front desk lady was getting hammered with complaints and I didn't have time to discuss things further with her. The lady at the desk was very friendly.
My husband and I were in Tarboro for 2 nights for our 50th high school class reunion. We stayed at SureStay Plus along with several other members of our class. We found our room to be quite comfortable--crisp, clean sheets, toiletries, coffee supplies--we weren't lacking anything. Sissy and the rest of the staff were friendly and more than accommodating and made our stay so pleasant. We enjoyed gathering with our friends for coffee in the mornings and the breakfast bar was kept well stocked during the time we were down there. We just didn't have any complaints at all and we will definitely stay there again if the need arises.
Just stayed there one night - passing through on I-64 during a vacation. The room was ok for sleeping but the bathrooms towels were old and worn and need to be replaced. The room had cable TV but probably 75% of the channels were out. Couldn't even get the weather channel to check the forecast for the next day, and Cell service/wifi was non-existent.
This hotel is extremely old, smells horrible but will get the job done. The staff are friendly (when they're at the front desk and throughout the hotel). The fitness center is horrible, the hallways aren't air conditioned.
Hotel was pretty good, A small problem was that only small wash cloths were left on the second day in our room. My wife went to the front desk to get a couple of large towels and had to wait more than 15 minutes for the desk attendant to return with them.. My wife and myself felt the towels should have been more easily and quickly accessible by the desk attendant. Other than that hotel was comfortable.
