Resumen de la reserva
Newer hotel in a great location when visiting Mt Rushmore, Custer State Park and Crazy Horse. Easy access coming from the west and going south the Mt Rushmore. Rooms are large and clean, breakfast typical “free” breakfast. The breakfast room was large and no problem getting a table.
Very clean rooms. Enjoyable breakfast. Friendly staff. This is a place we would recommend. We stayed twice here during our 9 day trip to South Dakota. Only complaint is our 2nd and 3rd floor rooms had faux "decorative" drapes on each end of the windows. There is no way to immerse yourself into total darkness from the outside lights.
Friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff. The breakfast lady went out of her way to create delicious items for the breakfast buffet. This is a fairly new property on the outskirts of Rapid City SD. So, everything is still in great working order.
We stopped for the night in Rapid City on our way to the Black Hills. We choose the Best Western Plus based on price and the fact that they are dog-friendly. This was our first time staying in a Best Western Plus and we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel is brand-new. The bedding was fresh and clean. The beds were comfortable. The towels were thick and luxurious. And the breakfast was by far the most impressive continental breakfast I've ever seen. The spread offers everything from big waffles, mini-waffles, bagels, English muffins, Oatmeal, yogurt, cereal, protein bars, scrambled eggs, ham and much, much more. This will be our go-to hotel the next time we are in town.
This was an excellent location to all the local sites. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great. Lots of variety. The room was clean and comfortable. We loved the pool and especially the jacuzzi. It is very accessible to downtown if you're inclined to visit it as well.
The Best Western Mt. Rushmore is fairly new and as such everything was in excellent shape. It was located near main roadways making it a nice place to use to visit the local sites including Mt Rushmore, The Badlands, Crazy Horse and Custer smState Park and the local scenic highways. It is also near the airport without being next to it.
The rooms are immaculate and very comfortable beds!! We love everything about this motel! It's definitely a go to place! The breakfast was superb. Fresh and hot! No shortage of food!! The pool/ hot tub area was very attractive! We've been coming here since they opened up a few years ago and it's always the same!
The hotel in general is very nice. Very clean. Breakfast was the highlight of this hotel in my opinion. The different selections were great. The breakfast lady was amazing! Only two complaints, one minor, one major. The minor would be the minimal furniture. One chair with ottoman, and one desk chair. Would have been nice to have something a little more substantial for a long stay. The major is the bed. We have stayed at multiple BW Plus and this bed does not come close to Plus status. All staff we encountered were very friendly, polite, and helpful.
Very pleased with our stay. Check in was seamless. Room was very clean, and bed very comfortable. We appreciated being able to have our dog with us, and being placed in a room close to the exit. Breakfast area was clean and had usual variet of menu items. Very quiet. Would definitely stay again.
Looking through Tripadvisor for a place in Rapid City that provided great accommodations for a reasonable price, and this is it. Friendly, helpful staff, great rooms with real bathrooms, and great breakfast buffet. It is located towards the edge of town, so reaching some amenities did require driving a few miles, but this was a minor inconvenience, not a real issue. On the flip side, the location was convenient for driving south the the Black Hills and Custer State Park. My only real complaint is that we had to leave!
We needed a place to stay for the last two nights of our trip. We decided in Rapid City and selected this Best Western Plus. The location was great - close enough to the airport without hearing it, and close to restaurants and other places of interest. Within driving distance to all the places we wanted to visit - Crazy Horse, Mt. Rushmore, Badlands, etc. The free breakfast was great plus the in room coffee, microwave, and fridge. We ended up with a 2-queen ADA room because that was all that was available but it was fine. We really enjoyed our stay.
The hotel is centrally located to many attractions-Deadwood, Sturgis, Mount Rushmore, Custer State Park, and the Badlands. The hotel staff are excellent. The breakfast buffet had a variety to please all. The hotel was clean and quiet. I would highly recommend this hotel and would return if ever in this area again.
Hotel staff is very professional, hotel is very well maintained will reccomend ro friends. Is close to all local restaurants and local retail stores. Hotel also includes washer and dryer if you are staying more than three days to use locally.
This hotel is in good condition, safe area, staff friendly. Great location for sight seeing day trips to badlands, mt rushmore, custer, devils tower etc. Our only complain was the lack of housecleaning. we stayed 6 nights and were offered one night. We really could have used an every other day cleaning. by the end we had garbage everywhere which we had to empty ourselves daily and the room was very dusty.
Our family of 4 stayed in Best Western Plus Rapid City Rushmore in Aug 2024. The room was clean, neat, and comfortable. Mattresses were average, on a softer side. There were no blackout curtains. Bathroom was good and clean. Breakfast had full selection of cold and hot items. Check-in/check-out were quick and smooth. We had a good stay overall and found this hotel as a good value for the money. Hotel is close to Rapid City airport but is 35 min drive from Mount Rushmore National Memorial. For visiting the Memorial, it seems to be more convenient to stay in Keystone, SD which is also closer to Custer State Park.
Loved this hotel! This Best Western was in a great location right off of the highway. Just about a half hour north of Mt Rushmore. It looks like a newer hotel. Very clean. They had a delicious breakfast with a variety of items to eat. Very good. Their pool area was nice too. The hotel sits behind a gas station which was convenient for us and down the road was a shopping and restaurant area. We will definitely stay here again. Very nice.
We had a nice stay at this hotel. The room was clean, and everything worked. There was plenty of parking. The location is convenient for people going south to Mount Rushmore and Custer State Park. The breakfast was above average the first morning and just average the second. The only thing wrong with the hotel is that they do not do house keeping daily for people staying more than one night. The Covid panic is long over, and it is past time for places to get back to offering appropriate (i.e. 2019 and before level) customer service.
Great hotel experience and location, close to Mount Rushmore and Crazy Hours monuments. My wife and I were on a road trip from Wisconsin to Yellowstone National Park. This hotel was the 5th Best Western Hotel we stayed at. Always good breakfasts at BW to start the day.
We stayed here for one night. The front desk people were very nice. We stayed on the 4th floor. The view was outstanding with a beautiful hill and cattle grazing up in the black hills. The beds were comfortable and everything worked inside the room. The room was very quiet and we slept great. This is a nice place to stay. The breakfast in the morning was very good.
Great stay!! Very friendly efficient staff, cleanliness was immaculate! Wonderful, generous breakfast buffet. Plenty of very nice linens provided, comfortable beds, good, well lit parking lot. All around GREAT place to stay. We will be back!
Very nice new hotel right off of Interstate 80. Great stopping point on our road trip. Rooms were quiet. Modern amenities and decor. Two elevators so never a long wait. Pool and hot tub open until 11. Typical hotel breakfast with a nice large seating area.
This is a great hotel, and nearly brand new. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and new. The mattress and pillows were very comfortable. It was quiet at night. The AC system worked great. Breakfast was above decent for a free hotel breakfast. Location was perfect, not too far from the interstate, but far enough to not get the noise. Had a great stay. (There was not daily housekeeping, due to shortage of staff, which is probably a common problem in this area. We got one housekeeping visit in our 5 night stay. Not really an issue as we could get new towels and such whenever we wanted).
Rapid city is one of the best I have stayed with! Breakfast was always amazing. Great staff you should all be proud of the services you provided. Parking was good and the hotel is in a great location to all of the major highways and amenities. Thank you for a great experience!
Exceptionally clean and maintained hotel. Nice variety of breakfast foods and healthy choices offered for breakfast. Room attendant was friendly. Room and bathroom were very clean. Front desk lady was so accomodating in sharing information of nearby restaurants. Highly recommend!
The hotel was easy to get to. The parking lot was well lit , vlean and spacious. The lobby was clean. Check in was quick and easy. The clerk very friendly. The room and bathroom were clean. The bed comfortable. The pool was clean and sparkly. The hot tub relaxing. There were many choices for breakfast. The morning clerk was also very nice and the breakfast staff and cleaning personnel also
Best Western Plus at Rapid City is a great place to stay if you are visiting Badlands and Black hills. Very clean with a very helpful staff. Breakfast was great with hard working staff continuing restocked the fruit and yogurt. I definitely would stay at this hotel again.
Not the worst, but not the best. Pros: clean, convenient. Breakfast slightly limited compared to other Best Westerns. Biggest disappointment was the pool being closed…we get it, especially with pools things happen. However it would have been nice to have the option to stay elsewhere (some notice) as we were traveling long distances with kids….or at the very least a discount or some extra member points. Again, things happen, but I do feel like I could have gone elsewhere for the same rate and had a pool available.
Worn out mattresses, mattress covers, sheets and towels. They do MOT offer housekeeping for stays under 4 days. They don't tell you this until you read the sign in the elevator after checking in. Very deceptive. Rooms were dirty and tired. Sheets don't fit and the whole place should be torn down.
BW Plus in Rapid City was a great choice for us to stay in as a family. The rooms were spacious and clean. Everything was functional. Staff was attentive. Alright value for money we paid. Location is fantastic, just off the interstate with gas station nearby.
Worst experience at a hotel in a while. The bathroom was filthy! Front desk staff was grouchy. The mosquitos were awful in the pet area, they do have spray for that now. We won't stay here again. The one good thing was that they had gluten free options for breakfast.
front desk staff friendly and helpful breakfast was quite good and satisfying the biscuits and gravy were the great start for my day staff always offered to make up room if I needed it
We stayed one night at this hotel. Out of our window, we could see a heard of pronghorn sheep. Staff was courteous and helpful. Hotel was clean and only a short distance to Rapid City Airport. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
This is a quality place to stay and I agree with the prior reviews. The place has a new feel to it and the staff is welcoming. We used it as a base for a day trip to BadLands NP and to see Mount Rushmore. You can likely find hotels closer to each of them, but it was a good happy median. Lots of parking. Room was clean and breakfast was good. Lots of space at breakfast - you will get a seat. Only issue was that on arrival we were notified that there was no housekeeping unless you were staying four nights (we were staying for two). It is difficult to accept that the number one hotel in Rapid City does not clean its rooms daily, but I guess you are not in Coral Gables.
Very nice hotel. Looked pretty new. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good. Recommend staying here. Location is easy to get to. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Good choice when looking for a nice place to stay when in Rapid City
We enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Plus Rapid City Rushmore. The staff was friendly, the breakfast had a nice selection to choose from and the kids enjoyed the pool. My only complaint would the beds - much too firm.
Very very nice building. Large breakfast area. Pool and hot tub were nice. Rooms were big and very clean. Location was easy to find with coffee place nearby. Had a view of the prairie from our room with antelope grazing. Rooms were large and my family hung out and watched movies. Good time.
Excellent location only 15 minutes to airport. We used the hot tub which was great. The room and bathroom was clean, roomy and comfortable. Breakfast had a lot of options. We drove to downtown Rapid City where there were many options for dinner.
While on vacation we stayed in a variety of hotels, cabins, and lodges. This one was by far the nicest with the most friendly and helpful staff! We highly recommend!
The staff here was great. A more budget friendly hotel with staff that is helpful and professional. Rooms were clean and the breakgast was great. Staff kept everything hot and stocked all the time. Will stay here when in the area next time. Great hotel.
Went there for convenance to area sites. Found this place to be clean, updated and a very safe area. lots of good place to eat and not very far from downtown or the airport.
Made reservations for this back in January and when we arrived everything was perfect and we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay.
We were just traveling through, so a clean room and a good breakfast were the most important to us. The room was very clean, and it was really attractive with very high ceilings. The place felt new....maybe it was. The breakfast in the morning was really good, no short cuts. The fried eggs were form-fried, but they were fine. There were tater tots that had all been mashed together and spooned out. They were fine as were the slices of ham. Someone was there constantly to replenish and tidy up. The hotel itself was really clean and looked new. We didn't use any of the other facilities as we were just passing through.
We loved our stay here. It is a very nice propery in a convenient and quiet location. The staff was freindly and helpful and the property was well-maintained. Our room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. No noise from other guests or from traffic. There were lots of choices for breakfast, and it was kept well-stocked. A very reasonable pet fee.
I thought getting the assistant manager to wait on me would be smooth. This lady has no business working with clients. I showed her my military card and without looking at me said “no discounts” . I should have left right than and there, but having stayed multiple times with Best Western I continued. With the choices there are of hotels in Rapid City; she needs to get a personality. I will pass it on that military means nothing at this hotel. I am still traveling back home; but rest assured I won't stop at any Best Western Hotels.
What a great stay! There are larger, more expensive hotels that could take lessons on customer service and quality from this place. Desk staff were fantastic and houskeeping was helpful and friendly! Hot coffee going in was greatly appreciated. The rooms were spotless, well kept and modern. Parking was free. The beds were very comfortable. This place is near gas and food and in a very quiet location. The only odd add on was something called a CUB fee and I'm still unclear what it was for. This place offers tremendous value for the money and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!
We loved staying at the best western plus. Staff were super friendly and our room was clean and smelt super fresh. Breakfast each morning was different and delicious. We would absolutely stay at this hotel again. The only very small downside is that there is only one ice machine and it's on the first floor. We had a cooler so it was kind of a pain but not a big enough issue to take away 5 stars!
Great rooms, large enough to spread out. Good location. Breakfast selection was sufficient. Stayed 3 nights and enjoyed the stay.
We got turned away this evening. When trying to have a romantic Valentine's evening out. They would not rent us a room because we are locals!? Even though we have stayed there before! My boyfriend asked to speak with the manager and she said he was not available. And it's not their policy and she wouldn't even call him and ask him about it. We are very upset about this and will probably never frequent this hotel again.
One of the best western hotels I look forward to my stay always Friendly' clean comfortable and my go to when traveling through rapid city...Breakfast is also very clean seating and good food breakfast room is large and roommy..thanks always
The bathroom had long black hairs all over the toilet !! My husband stayed one night and if complained you know it's not good. He also couldn't tell if carpet had hairs. He mentioned to front desk about it and all that was said was oh I'll tell housekeeping.,, He was not impressed with this hotel at all
Nice place. Virtually new, clean. I enjoyed the salt water pool. It doesn't irritate my eyes like chlorine pools will. The hot tub is not salt water, it is the usual chlorine or bromine treatment. The room the pool is in was 85 degrees Fahrenheit in the winter which was very nice, my teeth didn't chatter after swimming.
This was a great stay. Clean and comfortable. Very pleasant, helpful staff. Fresh, hot breakfast. Laundry area was clean.Everything we needed. The only thing I would ask is a higher floor (we stayed on 2) to avoid the sounds of deliveries, but I am a very light sleeper. Otherwise, a perfect place to stay.
Nice, clean hotel; friendly front counter staff; great breakfast room with lots of choice; would definitely stay at this hotel again when in Rapid City. We also got a great room rate, too. I would rate this hotel 5-stars out of five!
The front desk was really kind when we first checked in and gave us all the information we needed. Breakfast had a great selection of food and appreciated that it was available until 10am so we were able to sleep in a little extra before we checked out.
This was a relatively new hotel. It was clean and spacious. Location is convenient to the airport. The breakfast was somewhat disappointing which is why I gave them 4 rather than 5 stars. When we went to breakfast at 6:30 most of the hot items were depleted and they were somewhat slow restocking.
We stayed in 24 different properties during August 2023 on a driving trip from Minnesota to Alaska. Our primary criteria for evaluating a lodging property include cleanliness, sleep quality, price given the season, ease of luggage transfer and use, and wireless speed and security. Other plusses would include location and view, breakfasts, and availability of restaurants close by. We don't watch TV so can't tell you about the quality of service. Any that I rate a 4 is one I would definitely choose to stay in again. This is the third time I've stayed here in the last three years—twice in August and once in February. It's located very close to an I-90 exit, so is very convenient if you're traveling through and for anything on SD-79 but it's not close to the central area of Rapid City. The quality of my stays has been equivalent across these three visits. The beds and rooms are comfortable and the wifi works well. Breakfast offers a number of choices, and the attendant keeps close track of adequate supplies and cleanliness.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Plus. It was very clean, quiet and comfortable. The grounds and entry were beautiful and clean! We would definitely stay here again! It was convenient to Mount Rushmore.
The bed was comfortable, and there was plenty of space to spread my luggage out and move around comfortably. Good closet space complete with hangers, iron, and ironing board. Very quiet. Didn't hear any of my neighbors, above, below, or next to me, and I'm a light sleeper. The only thing to improve is the cleanliness of the room. The bed was clean, with fresh sheets, and the floors were mopped/vacuumed and the tub/shower was clean. The toilet had some staining on one side of the base, but what really stood out was the amount of dust on the lamps, refrigerator, microwave, and all surfaces. There was food from another guest stuck on the wall of the inside of the microwave (ick). A child's handprint was clearly visible on the framed artwork adjacent to the beds. These are easy fixes!
The hotel itself is clearly quite new, which has a tendency to mask other problems. On the front desk was a message about their struggles with housekeeping staff, and this showed in the room - there was a plastic bag over our smoke detector and a dirty face towel on the shower rail. There was a musty odour when we arrived in the room, and the windows don't open, so no way of removing it. The TV and mirror had both been wiped, but not with a particularly clean cloth. The amenities in the room were otherwise fine, although the toilet was comically low and providing bar soap instead of shower gel really isn't up to it in 2023. The ceilings were also very high, meaning it did have the air of staying in an aircraft hanger - I've had similar height rooms in a hotel before, but they had made better use of the height in the room design so it didn't feel so weird. Maybe the other floors were “normal height”. The only other note was when we checked in and the tone of the staff member asking for my ID and credit card felt unnecessarily abrupt. Maybe they were having a bad day. All in all, if I had to stay in Rapid City again I wouldn't say no, but I'd be checking the reviews first to see if they'd fixed their staffing issues.
This is a pleasant and relatively new facility. Our room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast area is nice and the breakfast was good. However, our room was not very quiet. Doors were slamming during the night, we could hear other guests walking on the floor above and worst of all, we could hear someone snoring in the adjacent room! We would not go back. We'd opt for one of the many other local hotels on our next visit.
Really enjoyed our vacation! Make some waffles for breakfast. Before you close the lid toss in 4-5 m&m to make the kids a little breakfast treat. Relax in the hot tub while the kids swim. 4 min to the grocery store but they also sell snacks and microwave meals at the front desk. Very friendly staff!! Very fluffy pillows, comfy bed. I really like the soap and shampoo too!
We stayed for 5 nights. All the staff were friendly and polite. If we need anything, they were helpful. Breakfast was very nice. Plenty of choices, some offering changed daily. The room was nice, but the mattress was not comfortable, and the pillows were soft. Not once, during our stay, did housekeeping come to make the beds, change towels, or empty the trash. When we called the front desk we were told you had to stay a certain number of nights before the housekeeping would visit the room. I am very disappointed. I expected better from a best western.
Best Western is one of my top choices. I have always had good experiences at all of the Best Western hotels I have stayed. It is nice knowing that the overnight stay experience is going to be enjoyable and relaxing.
We stayed two nights, very clean and quiet hotel. Bed was very comfortable, the rooms were spotless. Service was exceptional. Breakfast, oh it is definitely THE Best!!! Excellent place to stay, we will be back?!
This is a newer hotel. Was very nice and clean. Breakfast was great, lots of choices. Convenient to many restaurants. The only negative was that the staff weren't the friendliest. Out of our 2 night stay,we probably met 5 front desk folks. None ever said good morning or greeted with a smile nor asked how things were going. One guy in the evening never stood up to answer my question about directions, remained on his phone. I just feel that if staff act like they're having a good day it reflects to the customer. Overall, the hotel was good!
Nice hotel located minutes from Mt Rushmore and lots of restaurants. Hotel was modern, clean and everyone was helpful and friendly. Found the breakfast to be fresh, nice variety and having a waffle maker was a bonus! Small store for amenities was nice, parking was ample and well lit. Right off interstate. Definitely recommend!
This was a night before surgery stay. We always try to stay at Best Western when we have the chance. Everyone is helpful and courteous. The staff is very professional. The rooms are very clean, and the breakfast is great.
My husband and I travel to Rapid City South Dakota for a planned mini vacation. Room was prebooked via Expedia.com. The room had a musty odor and the couch was torn. Vending machine had no water to purchase. The tub drain was dirty and full of hair and debris. Besides all the above staff were AMAZING, willing to help out with anything! Thanks for the half price snacks at the Long Horn restaurant!
This hotel was very clean, aesthetically pleasing, rooms were nice and big and breakfast was great! I'd stay here again. The location was super convenient to all attractions in the area. The front desk people were super nice and friendly.
We are traveling on a three week trip across the USA, with our dog. After more than two weeks of great experiences, we have had a terrible one at this hotel. The room has an awful stench to it. We understand that we have to stay in a room where dogs have stayed; we ourselves have a dog. We pay a $25 per night surcharge for the privilege. This room smells like a cross between a urinal and an athletic sock that has never been washed. Upon arrival, we notified the front desk. The two employees there looked at each other and said, "Oh, room 131. Management is aware of the issue." I said we don't want to be charged for soiling the room because it already smells awful. The woman said, "There's nothing we can do with that room because the windows don't open so we can't air it out. Do you want an air freshener?" I said we didn't because I didn't see how masking the odor with perfumes would help. We stayed three nights in this hotel. I don't understand why they couldn't have put us in a different room, especially since the motel was mostly empty on the second and third nights. I cannot understand how what appears to be almost a brand new motel can have this problem. This room should never have been rented until this problem was solved. The motel itself is average. Very far away from downtown, but convenient to the freeway and the highway to Rushmore/Custer State Park. Would never stay here again. Recommend that you avoid this hotel at all costs.
Location is great, 2minute drive to indoor water park, 30 minutes to Mount Rushmore, 20 minutes Old McDoalds Farm. The Hotel is a 2.5*, but the reviews made it a top of the line 3 star. I did not realize the star ratings refer to the amenities, the other reviews on this hotel were great, and I am glad we stayed here. Nothing fancy, but clean, breakfast ok, great since it was included. Hotel is clean, rooms clean, kids liked the pool. Would stay here again.
We spent 9 nights at the Best Western Plus in Rapid City. We had a king suite which made it very comfortable for an extended stay. The hotel is new and spotlessly clean. The breakfast is very good with a variety of food to choose from. It was a nice central place for our Black Hills adventures and I can recommend it to anyone visiting the area, I don't think you would be disappointed. We loved it.
Just off the interstate, this hotel is centrally located to restaurants and attractions in the Black Hills. The hotel is spotlessly clean, modern, up-to-date and well-managed. The breakfast features a variety of options enough to settle down anyone's appetite. Highest rating for a hotel in Rapid City.
We have stayed at a lot of Best Westerns over the years, and this one is by far the nicest! This hotel is new, clean, comfortable and the service is top-notch! Our room (2 queen beds) was larger than the average double, and very well appointed. The beds were super comfortable, and each one had 4 pillows. That is a nice touch for those of us that are picky pillow people! lol. The room and bathroom were sparkling clean and our room was very quiet. The included breakfast buffet was awesome. Tons of delicious hot and cold choices (eggs, sausage, potatoes, waffles, cereal, danishes, yogurt etc...) with something for everyone. We had dinner at The Dakota steakhouse nearby. Highly recommend it as a great option for dinner with lots of choices and price points. We will definitely stay here next time we are driving through SD!
Conveniently located to interstate, fuel, shopping, restaurants, great value with friendly, caring staff, clean and quiet. Would highly recommend this facility whether for business or personal travel.
Traveling through Rapid City on a cross country trip I chose this hotel based on the reviews and the fact that it is pet friendly. I did the “pre check-in” prior to arrival to speed up the process as we've been traveling all day and just wanted to settle in for the night. Word of advice, don't bother. They make you fill out all the forms again. The hotel also charges you for the stay BEFORE you arrive. I booked a REFUNDABLE room through the official BEST WESTERN website and was told I booked through a third party website and that's why they charged me ahead of time. If you're traveling with a pet, find other accommodations. They charge a pet fee yet DO NOT thoroughly clean the rooms that allow pets. The room smelled like a kennel. We travel frequently with our small dog and have never been in a room that smelled so badly. Brought this to the attention of the front desk and they were not at all bothered by it. With all the other lodging options in the area, my advice is stay elsewhere.
We have stayed twice at this hotel in the last year, both for visits for the Black Hills Stock show. This hotel will do anything to help their guests. They always allow you to leave your trailer parked instead of parking it out at the stock show which is so helpful. This year it was extremely cold the last night we were there and we asked if we could plug in our truck and they gladly helped. The front desk guy at night, I have missed his name both times, but long curly haired guy.. you are the best! This hotel is quite, friendly and clean. Our kids love the breakfast. Thank you all again for a wonderful stay. This is our hotel always for the stock show!
I picked this hotel because we had stayed the previous night at a best western in St. Louis and had all of my information already in their system. It was also attractive because it was an easy in and out off the interstate. My grown son and I were traveling from Georgia to Montana and this was a quick stop along the way. The room was comfortable and clean and the price was very reasonable. The best part was the staff and breakfast. We were impressed with the choices and quality of our free breakfast! The staff (Amanda and her new baby) and the other two that I didn't get their names but were so friendly, were a perfect start to our travel day. I would definitely stay there again and wish all hotels could be like this one!
The room was very nice and breakfast excellent. We knew ahead of time that the hotel is short staff and doesn't provide daily room service but didn't mind as we like it privacy and clean up after ourselves. We swapped towels with the staff as often as we liked and had trash picked up outside the room. Location is great and not too close to highway for noise.
Our first time staying at Best Western Plus. We had a great experience… Great Service, CLEAN Rooms, Clean Pool, Quiet Location, Easy Parking, Great Breakfast. We would definitely recommend this place. Only complaint is the bed was uncomfortable.
Worthy of the "Plus" name. Excellent staff.....nice quality and variety at breakfast. GREAT indoor pool and hot tub. Nice location close to I-90 and the airport. Comfy and clean room. Nothing more to ask for.......
Very comfortable, close to a lot of shopping, and restaurants. Great staff, and beautiful dining area. Room was very large and clean, very quiet as well. Will stay here again for sure, especially since it's so close to everything you need.
Very nice hotel. Staff super friendly and helpful. Room and lobby very clean. Nice pet area outside. We left in AM prior to breakfast service but there was excellent coffee available near front desk for us to take with us. We would recommend.
The front desk clerk was very friendly! We requested a room on the top floor away from the elevator, and she made sure our request was met. Great modern room. Very clean. Really nice bathroom too. Breakfast was really good! Very friendly staff at breakfast service too. She made sure all of the items were stocked. I would definitely stay here again!
The team at Best Western Plus was so helpful and nice! They were friendly and made sure we knew all the hotel features. We booked on the road, and they were able to ensure we still had a room by the door to the pet relief area. The hotel itself was extremely clean and modern. The beds were one of the most comfy hotel beds we've had in a long time! The coffee and tea station was available all the time and had a great variety of tea, coffee, and accompaniments.
Hotel has a "new" feel. Room nice size, clean, & comfortable. Lobby and breakfast area offer nice space for groups to gather and visit. Breakfast was very good - some odd signage posted "Please don't shake cereal bins"; "Please dispose of waffle batter cups". Overall a great stay and if we are again in Rapid City we would stay here.
Whether traveling in the US or overseas, I find that Best Western has been the most reliable Hotel system. It is always my first choice when available. The Rapid City, NB is a great location where you can easily visit four States, and the facility offers an excellent breakfast. Staff is extremely helpful in suggesting sites to visit and attractions to see.
Newer property, spotlessly clean, everything in working order-and rooms of a nice size with great bed/pillows. Plenty of parking and convenient location-and to top it off, a great breakfast with many hot/cold choices-with the chafing dishes always full. We'd gladly stay here again.
Very nice, newer hotel with the special touches you would expect from a Best Western Plus! We spent 2 nights, sightseeing during the day and relaxing at night - the room was great and it has a wonderful indoor pool and spa!
We stayed here for one night on our road trip from Indiana to Yellowstone. The property was immaculate both inside and out and easy to get to from the interstate. Rooms were quiet and beds we're comfortable. Breakfast was hot and delicious.
Great experience! Check in was fast and friendly. Room was clean and functional. It was as expected Best Western quality. A note though, this room didn't have a microwave or refrigerator. I'm not sure the booking site said it would, but I sort of assumed based on past experiences.
A great hotel! The rooms were very nice and they offered a great breakfast with gluten free options! We enjoyed the location. It wasn't particularly close to any restaurants but was convenient for our sightseeing trips in the area. We would stay here again!
We stay at BWs fairly frequently when we travel around the country. This one was fairly new, located within a few minute drive from several well-known restaurants, well maintained inside and out, beds were fairly comfortable (I bring my own pillows), clean bathrooms, breakfast area was clean, large, and comfortable, quiet even with a bus tour. Where it fell short for me was the management of the breakfast - fruit only a few days (we bought our own bananas), coffee machine didn't make very good coffee (went to Mc Donalds across the street for my coffee - although, I am picky about that), pastries were one type and unimaginative, no bagels (which I guess may be a regional thing). The staff was nice enough, but didn't really seem to be into the "hospitality industry" mode. Having said all that, I wouldn't discourage anyone from staying here - it just missed the mark a bit especially when comparing to other BWs and other hotel chains we've stayed with.
We stayed several nights here on a tourist junket. We would definitely stay here again. Notable positives: Room size, cleanliness, value, linens, bathroom counter space, breakfast selection, parking & access, helpful front staff, location Notable negatives: limited housekeeping; hard pillows
To start off, when I arrived, I was informed that this hotel didn't have enough staff to clean the rooms. You had to go to the desk for shampoo and towel. I figured, ok no problem, and like with my industry, if I only provide partial service, I get partial payment. But this hotel seems to find it ok to charge full price for partial service. This really put a bad taste in my mouth that my go to corporation for lodging, would allow a franchiser to act this way. Guess it is time to find another brand. Next, I paid in cash, then got an email that my card was billed. Contacted the manager and he said he would look into it. Three days and heard nothing.
This hotel was quiet, comfortable and had good-sized rooms. The breakfast was much better than that normally found in a suite hotel; a good variety of hot food items changed daily. The staff -- especially the front desk and cleaning -- were friendly and helpful. The hotel was centrally located to the area attractions -- right off the highway. The hotel still limited cleaning services but this was not an issue for us. It was very easy to restock toiletries etc.; you just asked at the front desk. I would recommend this hotel.
On recent road trip we stayed at several Best Western facilities, this was by far the best one. The desk staff was friendly and funny. Made us feel welcome. Room was great with a comfy bed. Breakfast was good start to our day.
Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was better than most and included many options for those with food issues. Staff was helpful. Only downside is that the hotel is 5 miles outside the city. but it is conveniently located on I 90
This was a three day trip to the Black Hills. The location of this hotel was ideal for accessing most of the Black Hills sites including Mount Rushmore and Custer State Park. Our room was very spacious and clean. Breakfast was excellent with many good food options.
This Best Western appeared flawless to us. Easy checkin, clean big room with a comfortable bed and great shower, and a good breakfast selection. The hotel is convenient to I-90 and about 35 minutes to Mount Rushmore. A great choice, and we highly recommend it.
Great Place to stay and explore the Black Hills area. We visited Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Needles Highway, Custer State Park, Iron Mountain Road and Devil's Tower while in the area. Brand New, Still had the big "OPEN-WELCOME TRAVELERS" sign on the outside of the building. Comfortable beds, great staff, good location.
Stayed at BW Rushmore for 4 days to visit the area on vacation. Rooms are large and clean. It is in a good location to get on the interstate to get to all the areas tourist sites. It is not such a great location for local food. You will need to drive out further to other locations for food other than a few fast food locations. Was disappointed that when we asked if the extra night we stayed could be matched to the reserve rate we had and was told no and only given a 20.00 credit. We would stay here again but hope the area builds up with more local restaurants and shops to enhance the stay
Did their best to accommodate our convention goers. Friendly and helpful staff. Complementary bottles of water at the registration desk were a nice touch for weary travelers. The pool and water park were an added attraction and enjoyed.
Great location! Great hotel! Great breakfast! We stayed here while visiting the sites in South Dakota and we would definitely stay here if we came back. It is close to restaurants and it is in a good area. It was a great location to stay when visiting Badlands national Park, Mount Rushmore, and Custer State Park. The service was excellent and we really enjoyed the breakfast. I also loved that the rooms were big and the accessible shower was huge! This is great for those of us in wheelchairs.
The entire hotel looks brand new. At check-in the clerk said the hotel had been open 3 and a half years. It looks like it just opened. The room had plenty of space. The shower was powerful and adjustable. Better breakfast bar than usual. The room rates are very reasonable. Just minutes from the airport. I would recommend this to anyone.
This is our return stay as this hotel is so comfortable. This hotel is quite new and has been updated with plenty of power outlets. There were good wifi and TV selections. Large bathroom counter and nice tall showerhead in tub. The Breakfast room was very spacious with an excellent choice of breakfast selections.
Great staff, very courteous and accommodating. Our room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Excellent hot breakfast with lots to choose from.Great location, with resturants and gas stations near by. The grounds were well kept with lots of parking spaces.
Everything was fantastic. Check in and out was easy. Room was clean, bathroom clean, bed comfortable. Plenty of parking. Restaurants are minutes away by vehicle. Breakfast had lots of hot and cold items, all fresh. Check their web site for all amenities. I would stay here again.
The hotel was very clean and nice. The staff was extremely friendly and made me laugh after 13 hours on the road. The view from my room was absolutely beautiful and I could have stayed in bed all day looking out the window.
This property and easy access from and to I-90. There were numerous restaurant choices within a short drive from the hotel. I would recommend Minerva's in the Best Western Ramota at the mall exit from I-90. The bed was comfortable and this was important after 11 hours on the highway.
This Awesome property will be included in my next vacation because of amazing staff and amenities. Truly scrumptious breakfast with heart healthy selection, really love your fresh fruits. I keep thinking this was a brand new property by how clean everything was, your staffs attention to detail is very much appreciated!
Handy to all the area activities and attractions. REALLY nice sized room, Will stay again. You can easily get into downtown, which has some fun restaurants. We did day trips that included Rushmore, Crazy Horse and Custer on one day. Then Wall Drug, Badlands, Sturgis and Deadwood on day two. A bit of driving, but lots to see!
I travel for a living and stay here every time I come to Rapid City. The staff are always friendly and helpful. They have a nice fitness center and the rooms and hotel are always clean. Keep up the great work. See you on my next trip.
Awesome hotel and an incredible location for exploring all of the Black Hills sites and attractions. Room was spotless and spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Only suggestion would be for the evening staff to be a little more helpful and friendly. Daytime staff was outstanding. Would definitely stay here again on next trip to the area.
I stayed in this hotel in June 2022. Prior to COVID and an illness, I traveled quite a bit. I was very surprised to learn that the hotel did not offer maid service. The staff was very good about dropping off towels if requested but this was still a surprise. Also, we stayed on the second floor and another shock was that they did not have an elevator. It would have been nice to know this information also. I have a hard time on stairs and would not have stayed here if I had known or asked for the 1st floor but since I was only staying 2 nights, I managed.
It is pretty centrally located to visit Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Bad Lands, Wall Drug and Custer State Park. The fitness room was very well equipped and the breakfast was great. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to spend some time in the area.
After four years of planning and trying to find an affordable place to stay, we made the decision to stay at the Best Western Plus Rapid City Rushmore based on previous reviews. However, I took it a step further and called the hotel prior to my stay to see how their customer service was to confirm my decision as I still had additional questions. I received great customer service and from my conversation I knew I was in good hands. I knew when we arrived, that I made the right decision. From being greeted to the cleanliness of the hotel it made for a positive experience. Joe the General Manager and Laura the Asst. General Manager greeted us with a smile, thanked us for staying with them, and explained the services provided which made it for a positive experience from start to finish. Not only was their customer service excellent the staff providing the breakfast each day provided the same excellent service, always with a smile on their face. We definitely enjoyed our stay and will plan to return in the future.
We enjoyed our stay in Rapid City but this place does not offer maid service unless you stay for 4 nights. After 4 nights, you can request this service. According to their posted signs, this is to protect privacy and adhere to social distancing guidelines. That is great to but patrons should be informed of this policy before making reservations or the room rate should be reduced. Sounds more like they couldn't get enough people to staff the hotel. Please be honest with the public! Their free breakfast was better than average. The location is a good starting off point for sightseeing in South Dakota but not for actually walking to anything in downtown Rapid City
Stayed for four days while vacationing in the Rapid City area. The hotel was very clean. The breakfast area was large with multiple TVs for viewinh weather or news. The team managing the breakfast area kept it clean and well stocked. One of the best breakfast offerings I have seen in some time. Kudos to them
My tractor trailer broke down. got towed to Peterbilt on the other side of the I-90. got a room here and the employees are awesome. it's quiet, clean and some food choices in walking distance. free coffee all day & a nice breakfast from 6-10ama. Lyft is available in this area which i used for the airport
I stay here on occasion for business. The rooms and all public areas are always clean. All of the staff are always helpful and friendly. Can't say enough good things about this hotel. Keep up the great work.
Extremely noisy place with no staff control for one as far as making sure people were out of the pool on time. I don't know how they stayed in there so late being as noisy as they were and they don't close it up.
Beautiful newer hotel easy check in. Gentlemen was very nice Room is spectacular. Right off the highway. Lobby is huge and everything is very clean. Very close to some food and gas the price is a little on the higher end of rapid city but well worth the extra money.
Needed an overnight as we awaited RV repair. This BW is the best Plus we have stayed at to date. Room was very clean, bed comfortable, staff helpful and breakfast was excellent. This BW offered additional items for breakfast that we had not seen at previous BW+ hotels.
There was ample grass for our dogs to potty, the hotel was clean, and regular rooms were good sized. The hotel is basically brand new and is set back from other businesses in a nice location. We had a cartop box and had no issues with any vagrants wandering around the area or anything, the hotel seems like it's in a pretty safe area. Breakfast area was welcoming and clean, food was good to get us back on the road. We used the washer while we were there as well. One thing to note is that it seems like they put all “dog-friendly” rooms towards the back door on the first floor which is convenient for potty but, our room shared a wall with the stairs and we did hear kids running up and down. Our dogs are sensitive to noise so this wasn't great.
Very clean. Rooms spacious and comfortable. Front desk staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast plentiful. Great location. Close to Mt Rushmore and Needles Highway. Close to restaurants and other shopping if needed. I would definitely recommend staying.
We are traveling across the country and have stayed in a different hotel each night for 5 nights and this was the best one of our trip. Spacious room, very clean, good location to the expressway and food. Extremely nice staff
This was our first time staying here, the staff was very helpful and informative at check in. The lobby was very comfortable. Our room was clean and very nice. It was super quiet when we were there. The breakfast on both mornings was very good (eggs, bacon, sausage and waffles). We really enjoyed our stay and will definetely stay here again!!
A simple truck driver having my rig worked on across the way. I have stayed in plenty hotels all over the US. I have always had a great experience at Best Western Hotels. Others may have had other exp
We stayed at the Best Western Plus in Rapid City on our way to Medora ND for a family Christmas gathering. The person working the front desk was extremely helpful and check in was professional and fast. We would stay here again. There are restaurants a short distance away which is a big plus for us.
New hotel; very nice and welcoming. Cannot really complain, well maybe one. I wish there was a Lounge. So I would not have to drive anywhere. Just hangout in my hotel and ready access to my room. Also; a bigger pool, with a slide...
Highly recommend this hotel property! The entire staff was helpful, friendly and professional! Hands down best breakfast we have had at a hotel in a very long time! Selection was great, staff was efficient and friendly, it was clean and well maintained, and the food was well prepared!!!
DONT MAKE A RESERVATION HERE!, I cancelled a two night stay and then was charged for a one night stay-- they said I had a reservation for one night which I never received a confirmation number or a courtesy email reminding me of a stay I had booked-- oh yeah bc I didnt have a one night stay booked, and if there was one in there system it must have been a glitch in the system-- dishonest untrustworthy, ruined the Best Western Brand for me-- Stick withHilton brand, where your stay and customer satisfaction is guaranteed!
This location is quite new and has been updated with tons of power outlets. It was clean and bright, there was good wifi and TV selections. The Breakfast room was very spacious which is so welcome in this age of social distancing and helps avoid bottlenecks. Excellent choice of breakfast selections as well. The walls were a bit thin, otherwise, we had a great stay here and would definitely return.
Excellent hotel and great amenities plus the hotel staff were amazing. We had one exceptional hotel person during breakfast and the outdoor s'mores bar later in the afternoon and evening. She came around at breakfast trying to amp up the kids. Asking, “Are you going to win?” I found this cool that she was trying to help get them amped up. Especially because we played at 8:00 AM.
The Best Western Plus in Rapid City is conveniently located just off the freeway near a vast variety of shopping, dining and entertainment. The spacious room was exceptionally clean, quiet and comfortable. The beds were very comfortable with no evidence of wear. The linens were clean, crisp and abundant. The cavernous bathroom was equipped to accommodate the mobility impaired; there was a shower bench, hand rails and a hand-held shower head that made bathing much easier. There were the usual travel-sized shampoo, conditioner, and lotion, along with a hair dryer, and plenty of towels and tissue Amenities in the subtly yet tastefully decorated room included thermostat-controlled heating/cooling, keyless entry, consistent and reliable wi-fi; large flat-screen T.V. with cable and remote; small fridge; coffee pot; microwave; writing desk; lounge chair; iron and ironing board, along with plenty of lighting and outlets to accommodate a variety of electronics. Additional amenities include a heated pool and hot tub, exercise room, comfortable living room/waiting area, free parking that's easily accessed, and a free breakfast that includes an impressive variety of breakfast items with something for everyone. We highly recommend the Best Western Plus in Rapid City, SD.
We stayed at this hotel the night before a college visit and it was fantastic. The hotel was really, really clean. The room was also extremely clean. Staff at check-in and check-out were really friendly and the breakfast was good. Would stay here again if we were in the area.
This is a nice hotel that allows pets. Has a good pool and great hot tub. We took our dogs and they slept pretty well-not too loud. Pet walk and breakfast make this place a good stay. This is new and modern, close to restaurants and about a half hour from Mt. Rushmore. Spend two nights so you can do Wind Cave, Moccasin Springs, Mt Rushmore one day and head north to do Black Hills and Devils Tower, old west towns other day.
This is, honestly, the best hotel I've stayed at in a very long time. For our Black Hills trip we wanted a location close to the interstate for the trip home and also a central location to places we wanted to see. This fit the bill. We got a queen suite, in order to sleep 5. The room was spacious, modern, and comfortable. Beds were comfortable. Ample storage space - LOVED the small closet for hanging coats and putting luggage away. The bathroom was very large, plenty of counter space. My only issues were the walls were a bit thin; noise often woke us up at night and shower pressure could have been a bit stronger. We loved all the amenities the hotel had to offer. Breakfast was amazing. I've never had such a variety of offerings. Biscuits and gravy, eggs, sausage, oatmeal and waffle bar, various pastry, fruit, boiled eggs, etc. They also had a mini store in the lobby where you could grab various snacks and sundries and just charge to your room. The pool was really nice. Big enough, clean, warm. The hot tub was so relaxing after a day in the car. My only complaints here were there was too much chlorine. Our eyes were stinging! And the towels there were a bit small, but no biggie. Overall, a very pleasant stay. Very affordable, considering all you get. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Would stay again!
An excellent modern snd clean facility located in north-east Rapid City just off I-90. Large parking area. Our second-floor room was in immaculate condition with all the amenities expected of a quality hotel. Bathroom likewise. King size bed was comfortable. Password-protected WiFi. Lots of USB charging ports. Good lighting. The breakfast area was clean, spacious and well stocked with hot and cold foods. Double elevators were quick and efficient. Check-in and check-out was smooth and pleasant. A couple of quality restaurants and a few fast-food outlets are located nearby. Highly recommended to travelers in this area.
It was an okay stay. Great breakfast and friendly staff but our room smelled like old man body odor. Had we not been super tired from traveling all day, we would of made a fuss. We expected more as I have spent most of this year in a BW and I assume that since I was using points for the room, it is what it is. Just expected no old man body odor stuck in the room that in turn sticks to everything. But I assume that is the dog room as I did have my pet with me, so maybe the non pet rooms are better.
Staff was friendly and helpful. Checkin and checkout was easy. Stayed for nights with dog. Very clean. Better free breakfast than most hotels. Convenient to highway and Mt. Rushmore and Custer State Park. Only downside was before booking I signed up for Best Western Rewards only to find out that you only get points booking with them and not for using a 3rd party site.
Great breakfast options including gluten free, comfortable beds, central location for popular sites. Close to grocery stores and restaurants. Nice pool and hot tub and patio area. Our room had 2 TVs, perfect when traveling with kids.
So clean. So fresh hand new. Real breakfast included bacon, eggs, breakfast potatoes, juices, coffee, milk, cereals, pastries and make your own waffles. Sad we only stayed one night. Front desk service well above par for ANY hotel. Rooms are very spacious and ultra quiet!! Worth the price.
We have never been so impressed by a hotel on vacation! This hotel was clean, there was no long check-in lines, they were so friendly, and had activities for our kiddos. We will most definitely visit again in the future! We arrived on Wednesday evening and checked out on Saturday morning. The breakfast included was much better than most! Our last night they had S'mores on their back patio that has a gorgeous view! You will not be disappointed.
The staff were very hospitable, always smiling and approachable. The room was super clean. The pool was great! We were a little worried that it would be closed due to COVID. It was the perfect way to unwind from a long day's journey. The breakfast was superb! The breakfast staff was very welcoming and they did a wonderful job.
This is a new hotel that we stayed in for two nights. With Covid advancing in many states I did not check to see which hotel chains require their employees to wear masks. This hotel chain did not. The breakfast area was very crowded and did not accommodate for any takeout. The staff was not friendly and although this was a comfortable place to stay I would not stay there again.
Very clean close to many things to do. Staff was awesome very helpful Masen was awesome helped with where to eat, places to see. Very clean like brand new Very close to Custer state park you pay 20 dollars for 7 day pass. The wild life loop was awesome
We stayed here for several days to see the area. We found the hotel to be in a great location. It was convenient to get on the highway, Mt Rushmore, Black Hills NF, as well as heading north-ish to Deadwood/Sturgis. It's also about an hour away from the Badlands. We had a king room which also had a sofa area with a coffee table and a separate tv. It was nice to be able to watch tv and not have to sit on the bed, but you could also watch the other tv while in bed. They had a desk area with plenty of outlets. There was a microwave and mini fridge which came in handy with a longer stay. We were on the top floor facing the parking lot, and we found that the room to be very quiet. The bathroom was a nice size also. We did not use the pool or fitness area, but they did have them. They also had a small patio in the back with a couple of tables. They had a nice large breakfast areas. There was lots of seating. They had disposable gloves for everyone to use while getting their food. They had lots of choices for food (eggs, sausage/bacon, potatoes, bagels, bread, muffins, oatmeal, cereal, yogurt, fruit milk, oj and other juices). They had a coffee machine that appeared to be available all day We found Lyle to be very helpful. He gave us some good suggestions for things to do and see. Everyone at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again, if were in the area. One small suggestion would be to move the mirror that's across from the bathroom. When someone turns the bathroom light on, it shines directly toward the bed.
Very clean, fantastic knowledgeable staff, best breakfast anywhere, conveniently located just off I90 near Mt Rushmore and other National treasures. Definitely would stay here again and highly recommend.
Excellent hotel, loved that it was brand new. We like BW because they take dogs so always can count on them and this hotel exceeded our expectations. The bathroom was very pretty and expansive. The dog yard is in the back but there is a door that access it. Right of Hwy 90. Regreted that only booked it for one night.
They are right off the freeway and connect to a major roadway that leads to most of the major attractions there. Very helpful staff and clean rooms. The hot tub felt nice on my feet after a long day of hiking.
The hotel is perfectly located to see everything of interest in the Rapid City area. There are also plenty of places to eat with in ten minutes of the hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful, every need was met with a smile and hello.
This is a good choice if you are staying in the Rapid City area. The breakfast choices were very good and the best we've had since the pandemic started at these types of hotels with the free breakfasts. The room was clean, which is probably the most important thing for me. Very nice and friendly staff. We did have minor issues--our deadbolt lock on the door did not work, the door to the bathroom did not lock, and the room smelled a bit musty. We did have an issue with overcharging when we checked out, but after contacting management, it was quickly resolved correctly.
For us, a clean room with a comfortable bed is what makes a hotel great. The breakfast, the gym, the location, the staff, etc, were all excellent, but a dirty room and a bad night's sleep can override all of that. Our room was spotless and we loved the bed so much we are ordering one. The only negative I can say was we traveled during peak tourist season, so the price was high.
$340.00a night for a motel room. Just because they can. The company sees an opportunity to rip people off, and they took full advantage. I will never stay at a best western again. I must say the staff at the hotel were great. Customer service at this location was wonderful
We were very surprised at this hotel! Very modern, very clean, and a great breakfast each morning! The front desk employees were helpful and friendly with suggestions for sight-seeing and minor needs. We would recommend this hotel to everyone!
The nicest, cleanest middle-class hotel we have been at. Friendly staff, everything kept clean and fresh. Great breakfast, even though a "grab & go" - better than most of the "breakfast room breakfasts" we had at other hotels. Definitely recommend if you are in the area.
The staff was awesome. Chatting with the front desk clerks upon check-in was like finding new friends. Room was clean and well-decorated. Also very quiet. We had a view out the rear of the hotel which looked out onto a grassy field. We enjoyed watching the cows meander over the field. Breakfast was above average. They had blueberry muffins in a warming dish that tasted like they were fresh from mom's oven! I had a blueberry muffin every morning and I don't particularly like blueberry muffins. That's how good they were! On the week nights during our stay, they held S'more nights for all guest on the back patio. Sadly, our pre-made plans kept us away from the hotel until too late to take part, But, what an awesome and original idea!! We'd love to give this hotel extra stars for coming up with such a novel treat for their guests!
This was a super hotel, we loved everything from the front desk people to the cleaning crew, they all did a super job! Breakfast was fantastic! Didn't get a chance to use the pool but they did have one. I would highly recommend it!
The staff was awesome! The room was very clean. The breakfast had a variety of choices, even has Gluten free choices. Great location 30 minutes from Mt Rushmore and 30 minutes from Sturgis. Lots of restaurants are stores close by.
Our stay was the most pleasant we have had. The staff was amazingly nice and helpful always quick to answer any and all questions. The breakfast was fantastic, changed daily. and was kept spotless, they offered gloves to everyone to remain covid safe. Our room was spotless, with comfortable beds. I would recommend this hotel to everyone.
This is an excellent hotel to stay at. The location is perfect for getting around. All of the staff are extremely nice and very helpful. The hotel is very clean and well maintained. We were very pleased with everything and would stay here again. Highly recommend.
The assistant manager accidentally dropped my ID through a slot in concierge desk. Both the assistant manager and general manager were dismissive in attitude regarding me being inconvenienced. Without my ID i was unable to pick up my rent a car or check out. My 4 day vacation was being wasted in the hotel with no options being offered. I just flew 1800 miles to sit in a hotel room. The empty apology offered was mean less when they Told me someone would come tomorrow and I would have to wait. Although I completely understand it was an accident. Through no fault of my own I was the only one inconvenienced. The management was not concerned with trying to rectify the matter quickly. Maintenance doesn't work on Sunday. I wonder is the same answer would apply if a pipe had burst. Apparently me being stuck in the hotel room while on vacation was not a priority,,
I arrived on Sunday excited for a vacation for just my husband and I. A quick 4 day get away. When I arrived and was checking in . The assistant manager took my ID and dropped it by accident in a small slit in between the counter and the desk. I was quite concerned but was trying to remain calm. They were unable to get it and would have to have maintenance come in and dismantle the front desk to get it. I was told that maintenance was not in today and I would have to wait till tomorrow. As you could imagine many thoughts were going through my head. 1) I had reserved a car rental and was unable to get car due to having no ID. I felt like I was being held hostage. We had to order in dinner because there were no restaurants close to the hotel. I asked the manager how could they have no maintenance people on call. If a pipe burst would they wait till tomorrow! Obviously me not having ID was only troubling to me. I was told by assistant manager you only need ID for cigarettes and alcohol! This was not comforting to me. Drivers license are plastic I was worried it would melt from the heat of the wires for the computer. I can't fly home! The next morning the maintenance man arrived and didn't have the correct tools to do what needed to be done. I was going on a tour that I was suppose to drive to fort hays to get. I had to pay to get picked up to go on tour. Still no ID. As upset as I was with the lack of compassion on the management part I was not able to leave or check out because they had my ID. I wouldn't be able to go anywhere else without ID. Monday Evening I did get my ID back. Finally but the anxiety and aggravation was exhausting. When I spoke to the manager he said they felt they did all they could do!!! DO YOU BELIEVE THAT! DONT EVER STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!!!
Highly recommend this hotel! Staff was very helpful and friendly. Gave us good recommendations for dining and the Rapid City area. Room was large and spacious and beds were great! Hotel was modern and clean as was the pool area! Breakfast buffet was very good too!
Hotel was clean and up to date. Nice area with good and gas nearby. As a girls trip, felt very safe; nice area. Breakfast was very good; nice options. Covid friendly. Employees nice and courteous. Beds great.
This hotel, in my opinion is less than 2 years old. It was excellent in all respect. I am traveling with my daughter from NC to California via the scenic route. Her famous quote is “ the plus makes all the difference.”
We stayed here for 6 nights while we traveled in different directions to see all of the sights. The location is great. Right off the freeway and easy access to go to the badlands, Rushmore, Deadwood or anywhere. It has only been opened two years so everything is still fairly new. It was one of the more reasonable Best Westerns we have stayed at which allowed us to get a suite which really was nice because of how long we stayed. The woman in charge of the breakfasts did one of the best jobs of any of the Best Westerns we have stayed out. She was friendly and went out of her way to be helpful. This is at the top of my list of Best Westerns we have stayed at. Oved it.
I have stayed here several nights this past year for work. The people have always been very friendly and helpful. Great price and the rooms and hotel in general have always been clean. I highly recommend this hotel for your next trip to Rapid City.
This nearly new hotel is in North East corner of town near major cross roads, so is a handy location to get anywhere in town.Straight shot out to Mt Rushmore, close to several shopping/eating areas. Hotel was clean and fresh. No housekeeping if on multi day stay, but can ask for more towels, etc. No C19 hysteria. $12 a day taxes on a $110 room.
What you would expect from a chain, big-box footprint hotel. Clean and all the amenities. Our room was nice and comfortable. The sit-down breakfast buffet had a great selection and the room was very big. A nice touch was that they provided a glove to wear while serving yourself. Probably should be done all the time. The hotel is not close to any restaurants so you have to drive for dinner. It is convenient to Mt Rushmore
From the time we checked in to the time we checked out, the experience was wonderful. Front desk was extremely helpful and professional. The hotel is beautiful, clean and the breakfast was great. Our room was clean, and very comfortable. If one is on vacation, this is a great place to stay as it is easy to get to all the attractions and back for the evening. I highly recommend a stay here!!
We had a great four night stay at this hotel. The room was clean, the beds very comfortable and each with four pillows. The bathroom was modern and stocked with plenty of towels and washcloths. The breakfast didn't disappoint, there were hot and cold items to choose from. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We really enjoyed our stay there.
Stayed at many Best Western branded hotels in the last 6-7 years. This one is the best. Its fairly new (2 years old) and the breakfast was the best. Eggs, Sausage, Potatoes and so much more. I have no complaints about my stay here and would stay again. Everything was just as you would want it.
Clean and everything was in working order. We had a suite and the room was big. Beds and pillows were a little soft for my taste. Decent shower. The desk clerk at the hotel recommended a nearby restaurant (Dakotah Steakhouse) and it did turn out to be very good
This is new construction, therefore everything is still in sparkling mint condition. Our room was probably one of the best in the place. MAKE SURE you get a room facing the back - you get a serene view of a lovely small undeveloped mountain dotted with wild animals. A room facing the front would give you a view of the parking lot and the highway. We traveled with our small dog, so we loved having a back-facing room on the very end of the first floor, we could take her directly out the side door to the back dog-walking area with ease. The back is nicely landscaped and very clean. I only noticed one abandoned dog turd laying on the property during my entire 5-day stay. Not bad, considering how things usually go in that department. The fitness center exceeded expectations, every kind of machine, even weights! Pool also larger than expected. Breakfast, same story. Scrambled eggs, bacon, waffles, and a half dozen other options. Delicious! Having a guest laundry room on the 2nd floor was also wonderful. It was great to be able to do a load of wash. All the rooms have a mini fridge and microwave. The standard shampoo, conditioner and lotion was all there but in addition I loved the extra touches of complimentary razors and shaving cream, makeup remover wipes, toothbrush/toothpaste and more. I paid less than $100 a night on average for all this- amazing value. Complaints, or why the title is “mostly” perfect. 1) I wasn't told that housekeeping had to be specifically requested. By the third day, I was getting upset about my overflowing trash and lack of coffee, soap and towels. I thought I was being skipped. I actually stalked the housekeeping cart and confronted the maids about skipping my room. It was then they asked me “Well, did you ask the front desk for service?” WHAT?!? I mean, not a big deal if that's the new COVID policy, but please communicate that so the guests know! I noticed on the 4th day when I took the elevator up to do laundry that there was a notice posted on the elevator announcing this. Fine, but what about us first floor folks who aren't riding the elevator? We're left feeling ignored or forgotten. However, the housekeepers did come in and take care of the urgent items when they saw how perturbed I was by their response, so they handled it as best they could, which made me feel better about it. 2) THE FRICKEN TV. It's practically worthless. Yes, there are about 60 channels with a laminated guide of which channel is which- but that's it. No on-demand, no way to know what's on without physically checking the channel, and NO WAY TO SWITCH THE INPUT to stream from your own devices. They have the TVs purposely neutered to prevent people from streaming their own content. I spent hours trying to hack the system and got absolutely nowhere. The only thing I didn't try was buying a universal remote to see if that might force the input change. Overall, it was amazing and I would not deduct an entire star just for these two minor complaints. The good outweighed the bad by many miles.
The place was rather new (only 3 yrs old), so that was a real plus! Spacious room with high ceilings & a nice view of the rolling hills from our 3rd floor window. This was far and away our best lodging experience on our long road trip. The staff was courteous & accommodating- willing to change our date of arrival just a couple of days before with no problems. Really put our mind at ease.
Charges 109 dollars for for incidentals when charged to a company card. Incidentals are only supposed to be 20 dollars. But oh yeah nothing we can do about the hold on your credit card and oh too bad you HAVE to pay interest because WE screwed up!!
We had a great time. We started the day with a good breakfast at the hotel, did all sorts of sightseeing during the day and came back to the hotel to rest and swim. The beds and pillows are very comfortable.
None of the staff wore masks, and this property didn't follow the Best Western “We Care Clean” protocols which requests that guests wear masks inside hotel common areas. There was NO signage requesting the use of masks (but oddly, they strictly required gloves at the breakfast buffet...)
This hotel is a great place to stay, always clean rooms and comfortable beds. The staff is very friendly, close to everything in rapid city, pet friendly hotel and a nice breakfast selection, always a great place to stay!
Huge queen suite room. Great pool. Friendly staff. Awesome breakfast buffet. Everything we wanted (food/shopping) within 2 miles. Room and pool were great for our young kids. Location was perfect for sightseeing.
Nice hotel, great customer service, excellent breakfast. It was the trifecta of greatness! When the person at the front desk is willing to go out of their way to help you, that's awesome. The bed was so comfortable that I slept like a baby. We'll definitely be back!
I am a rewards member so that's why I picked this hotel. It's a newer hotel, very clean, polite staff, good size pool & large hot tub. Rooms were clean & beds were very comfortable. We came for a hockey game & since the hotel was just off the interstate it was a quick drive to the civic center. Will stay here again
Hotel was very clean and had a wonderful hot breakfast bar with lots of options. Off the interstate and easy access to places we wanted to go. Newer hotel with large rooms. Friendly staff that made you feel welcome.
Good place to stay, Friendly staffs, Clean room, Clean lobby .Swimming pool and hot tub work great. Breakfast is very good and coffee taste good. Coffee in the lobby I really like it. Very close to the shopping areas. Thank you.
Stayed one night on the way from camping trip in WY. We were very satisfied with the rooms - spacious, clean, good beds. Common areas were very clean. Hot breakfast was good. Very close to main highways. This hotel is what I expect fro, BW Plus brand.
This hotel served a hot breakfast with a large variety of items. Masks and disposable gloves We are required by all staff and guests. This is the best hot breakfast that we have had since all of the Covid precautions started.
Nice New Hotel! Hotel was very clean and everyone was very nice. Not too far from lots to eat and close to main highway to everything Black Hills. Room was bright! That seems to be an issue at several other places we have stayed. Will definitely be staying here again next time we are in the area.
Average stay. Seems like a newer hotel but rooms were basically identical to the Comfort Suites across the street that was half the price. They offered a hot breakfast, but it wasn't good. If they put a bit more effort into the breakfasts then I would recommend this place. Under current stay circumstances I would stay somewhere cheaper.
Week long trip to the Gillette WY., Tetons, Yellowstone, Bozeman, Sheridan/Big Horns and Rapid City. One night stay on our way home at this wonderful, very friendly, clean hotel. The hotel & staff very conscious of mandated COVID recommendations. Beds are fabulous! Great night of sleep after 9 hours on the road. Breakfast hot and offerings were plentiful. Thank you Laura for your hospitality and clean hotel.
Great hotel! It was very clean. We had an easy check in/checkout. Covid measures were in place. We were happy that we didn't have to worry about housekeeping coming in every day. The breakfast area looked busy but just avoided the free breakfast. Would highly recommend!
Thank you Pam for the greatexperience you're the best you really made me feel safe and my friend too so keep doing you and you should probably be having security where you're at not just housekeeping rooms amazing too..
Accommodations were great so we decide to stay here several nights as we toured Rapid City and surrounding areas. The Best Western was centrally located so we could go to a variety of South Dakota attractions from this location.
Stayed here for two nights before traveling then returning. I stayed at two other BWs while in South Dakota and I wanted to compare this location with the others. This location has been the best stay I had. It's new, but that isn't why it has been the best. The staff has been friendly, helpful, and there hasn't been any issues. Quiet room, clean, and I have loved the view of the cows behind the hotel. It's close to many locations as far as traveling. I'd definitely stay here again if I ever get to visit Rapid City again.
Stayed at this BWP with Rewards points to visit Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse and Custer State Park. Proximity to all attractions is great, all of them being within 30 minutes or so. As always the staff and management was courteous, helpful and kind in every respect. Highly recommend BWP for all travels... the properties are newer, clean and fresh, and the prices are very reasonable. Great hotel chain throughout all of North America... we know, we've stayed in dozens of them as Rewards Members.
This is a new hotel close to Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer State Park, Sturgis, Spearfish Canyon and Deadwood. It was very clean and very reasonably priced. The breakfasts were good, although maybe some oatmeal choices might be nice for those not wanting eggs every day. Our king suite was roomy and the bed was very comfortable. The front desk staff was friendly and although there was a bit of confusion with me pre-registering for check-in and me wrongly checking a box saying we had a pet with us (we didn't), and then we were charged for it anyway, the general manager said we would be seeing a refund on our credit card bill. I fully expect that to happen but if not, I will be back with another review! Anyway, we would definitely stay here again.
We stayed here for two nights during an out west vacation. This is newer hotel, it is centrally located for a lot of the Black Hills & Badlands attractions. Good continental breakfast even during pandemic. Good value for the money, would definitely stay here again.
Loved this hotel. Very clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Nice central location for everything we wanted to do. Several restaurants near by. ljsafohoeahlvnlhjfoeunlgf;gojagfjfoudrnrfouehhypajgyhriojgh
If you can, get a room in the back of the hotel. Though it's a few hundred feet from the main road, the noise seems to carry. Nice place. Very new. They had reasonable Covid precautions but the people of Rapid City go around acting like it's not one of the worst Covid hot spots in the country -- almost no masks
I was told they have only been open for one year. Everything was so new and nice! Great experience using the gym, the jacuzzi and pool, friendly, welcoming, hard working staff, and a nice hot breakfast! Coffee is good and we had scrambled eggs, bacon, home fries, and a fresh orange. Hubby had Chobani blueberry yogurt. We didn't have them, but they had waffles, biscuits and gravy, danishes, Rudi's gluten free muffins, and a variety of cereals with milk and juices. Angel the front desk staff was very welcoming and helpful. Couldn't have had a better stay!
Great room, quiet... had frig and microwave, very clean. Very good hot breakfast or sack breakfast...Staff knowledgeable of area and restaurants. Easy to get to main highways for access to attractions.
I came into the hotel thinking it would be great considering all the positive reviews about covid procedures, but throughout my entire stay I was paranoid and just felt very unsafe. Not a single staff member wore a mask including the housekeeping staff the entire time of my stay which I found to be very alarming considering they are the ones who clean the rooms before we got there. Barely any guests were wearing masks either, only a few besides my family. I wiped down every surface in the room just to make sure the room was actually clean. The breakfast "options" were a joke, they kind of just expected us to go into the buffet area and grab food as if that's not unsafe to be around a bunch of strangers without masks. The only positive aspect of the hotel was the room because it was the only place I actually felt safe to be in the hoteI. The room was spacious and made my stay comfortable. I Usually do not leave negative reviews but this hotel really disappointed me. Best Western claims they have all these "distancing and cleaning measures" but in reality there was no effort to create a safe environment for guests. Do not stay here if you are concerned about covid.
This hotel is probably the best hotel option in Rapid City for most business and personal travel. It's the “Plus” version of Best Western, and it's a newer hotel. The rooms are very nice. Everything is also clean. The main front desk attendant I interacted with was Angel, and she was extremely helpful throughout my stay. This hotel also has a gym and a pool, and they have a hot breakfast buffet for free. I highly recommend it.
Hotel was at it's one year anniversary and that's why is was so fresh and new. Loved every inch of this place. Staff was priceless. Breakfast was take a glove and serve yourself. Hot eggs, sausage and everything else you're used to. It was very convenient to the Mt. Rushmore Memorial. which is a must see.
This hotel nicely situated for people with a car. The rooms were clean. The hotel is only a year and a half old. The breakfast was the typical cold grab and go pandemic bags. My only disappointment was that the dryer was not working. However, I washed a load with plans to take them to a laundromat for a dryer the next day. The washer did a great job of spinning out the clothes and I ended up not going to the laundromat because the clothes had dried overnight just being spread out.
This is a nice, newer property with friendly people and spacious rooms. However, we were taken aback that none of the front desk staff were wearings masks (and that masks were not recommended for guests), despite the number of transient guests from all over the country when we were there. This omission signalled to us that the hotel is not taking the Covid threat seriously (although they did have sanitizer and distancing blocks) and, frankly, made us a little wary of the rooms and breakfast. Front staff wearing masks (just like they do in most restaurants now) would raise our confidence in Best Western during these challenging times. In the meantime, we will stay away.
Great place for family to stay, but the buffet option was a bit unnerving if you got there about 1/2 hour after it opened. This is only due to COVID issues. The hotel did provide hand sanitizer, gloves, etc but the residents just didn't care about sanitary issues during their stay. It was completely fine if you were the first ones to use the breakfast option. Clean, no room cleaning provided due to COVID, but all items available upon request. Not gamer friendly, no HDMI or WIFI access to the televisions and boy did we google all of the options and nothing worked.
After a long day of travel and running around Rapid City and surrounding area, this was a much needed rest stop. The building is newer, the front office attendant was phenomenal, anything we needed or had a question on was taken care of right away. The pool and hot tub were great for the kids, fitness center worked perfectly for my wife and myself. Would absolutely stay there the next time in town
Our stay was amazing, the staff were very helpful and the room was clean and comfortable. They served a hot breakfast when others were only handing out sack breakfasts. I would definitely stay here again as the hotel was close to everything.
We stayed as a family in a very clean, spacious room with 2 queen beds and a pull out. We loved being able to spread out. Plenty of room if you had a play n pack or baby crib. The microwave and fridge were great. The staff were nice. They do not have a guest laundry but they directed me where to go. COVID wise we did not love that the staff did not consistently wear masks--even the housekeeping when they were in common areas and elevators. We really liked how they were handing COVID-safe breakfasts. You had an order form for each family member and requested a time then you picked it up in the lobby in lunch sacks that you could then take up to your room.
My wife and I stayed here for an anniversary road trip. We were here for two nights and had an awesome time! Great location right next to a cheap gas station and a delicious steakhouse. The staff were all incredibly friendly, the rooms were clean and beautiful, and the building was very well maintained. Breakfast was done as a specific request for each individual and then packaged for us to eat in our room so that we did not have to worry about safety during quarantine. All staff wore masks (as did we) and made us feel very welcome. THANK YOU! ^_^
Great customer service by front desk staff. Only reason not a 5 rating is disappointing breakfast. Best Western has set the bar high when it comes to its breakfasts. The granola bar and apple just don't measure up to what we are used to. While I understand it is the sign of the times, It would be nice to have more than that for the most important meal of the day. I am a cancer survivor and have to take meds that require a good breakfast with protein. So we had to get that at a restaurant down the road. I hope you all can figure out how to bring back one of your best amenities.
Great location. everything was centrally located. super clean. pool was clean and great for the kids while the adults enjoyed the hot tub. room was a great size for our family of 6. would definitely stay here again.
This is a great new hotel and our second stay - 4 nights - was again top notch. I frankly dont remember much because the sights kept us busy through the days but I remember waking up super rested. Everything worked like it should.
Visit started out a little rocky when we discovered used towels hanging in the closet and an unwashed sheet on the sofa bed. However, after those were removed, the stay was fine. The beds were very comfortable and the pool was nice. I've been travelling alot lately and the grab and go breakfast wasn't quite as good as other Best Westerns.
The place is right off i-90, easy to find, and far away enough from the highway so it is quiet. Our first Day we had a Hail storm, I mean a HAIL storm, and was able to find a shelter for my rental. Everything is fresh and new, almost appears like it is less than a year old, but, it is actually 2+. The beds were very comfy, linens clean, and amenities were good. The only drawbacks I encountered were 2 things, 1st, the Breakfast was not anything I expected. The past reviews were spot on, this is not acceptable by any means. Seriously, if McDees can give you a hot breakfast, and not allow you in the dining room, why can't they follow suit? 2nd, room servicing for a second nights stay. I was shocked to see that the room had not been serviced during the day of our second stay. When I called the front desk, they acted if I was supposed to know that because of Covid-19, changing the towels and cleaning the rooms was by request only. I was not told anything upon check-in, they said it was posted on the front desk, and It was, laying flat next to another document that you are supposed to read. Why isn't this form posted vertically by the elevators, and upon check in as so to as you can SEE it, was beyond me. I was traveling during the pandemic, and shortcomings are to be expected, but this line of Best Westerns is dropping the ball on customer services.
Stayed four nights in a suite at the end of April 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic. First issue was before booking the hotel we called from the road to see if they were still doing breakfast. The website showed a nice hot breakfast bar so we were interested in that. We were told they were doing breakfast and were not told anything more. I booked the hotel and when we arrived we were greeted with a piece of paper where we could pick our basic cold breakfast. Our breakfast (picked up by us in a brown paper bag) consisted of a juice, a yogurt, a granola bar, a small danish, and an apple. It felt cheap, there was no way to get more food, and it wasn't what we were expecting or what I felt I paid for. I think they could have had a hot breakfast because just about nobody was staying at the hotel - just move the tables further apart or tell people to take it to their rooms. My biggest complaint was with housekeeping. They did not clean our room once in four days. Didn't even come in. No fresh towels. No soap. No toilet paper. No garbage taken out. Nothing. I had to throw our trash in a garbage can outside the hotel myself because it was starting to smell. On day 2 I had to ask the nice lady working the desk for more soap and told her housekeeping wasn't coming in, but nothing changed. We'd leave for a day's activities at 10:15 every morning and we'd see housekeeping cleaning rooms on our floor, but they didn't visit ours and I took the privacy sign off the door when I left. Pool and hot tub were closed along with the fitness center. No mention of that on the website. We were told it was a rule by South Dakota because of the pandemic. I get it, but notice would have been nice. When we arrived and pulled in there were 2 broken down vehicles in the lot on jack stands. One was missing a wheel. That car got a wheel and tire on day 3, but never moved. At some point the other car left. Not a great first impression. The only redeeming qualities of this hotel were the location (right off I-90) and the front desk staff was friendly and gave me soap when I asked for it. When I checked out I was given a TripAdvisor card and asked to write a review because the hotel wanted to be #1 in Rapid City. Well Best Western I wrote the review. I hope you take some time to listen to my complaints and improve the breakfast (don't use COVID as an excuse to cheap out on your guests) and please get on housekeeping because not cleaning a room for four days is unacceptable.
This may be a new hotel but I was not impressed with the customer service. We were provided grab and go bags for breakfast which we knew about and was fine because of the current situation. However I was not anticipating the level of cheapest this hotel went to. Normally they provide a hot breakfast but what they gave us was less than what you received when you went on a field trip as a kindergartener. We were offered a apple or orange, 1 granola bar, muffin or danish, a Walmart yogurt, and juice or water. What we received was not a muffin but a mini muffin, hand wrapped in plastic, not factory wrapped. The danish equally as small also hand wrapped. When I asked for extra I was told it wasn't there fault they couldn't serve hot breakfast and that she did not think it as possible to get more. They gave us one extra mini danish for 2 adults and 14 year old. With a total of 5 rooms rented out they could not afford one extra juice. I will not stay here again, I will save twenty dollars and stay at the brand new la Quinta across the street and put the 20 dollars toward a breakfast. They used the situation as an excuse to be cheap. It's not their fault they couldn't serve hot food but it was this specific hotels choice to offer what they did. Their corporate website says each site choices what they serve.
I'm an RN traveling to WA in a pandemic so my interest was on safety, good blocking curtains, comfortable bed, quiet, clean. Hotel was very nice decorated, bed was perfect, curtains blocked, everything was brand new so nothing to be dirty even - and staff were helpful. Parking lot was well lit. And right off the highway. Fantastic.
The king suite we were in was very dirty, the floor was not clean, the bed was not clean, the jacuzzi tub leaked, the shower head leaked, the toilet did not flush, and there were ants all around the room.
My wife and I have started traveling pretty regularly, and have stayed in several hotels in several different states. The price of this hotel, with the amenities included, and the overall cleanliness of the entire hotel, makes this hotel a better value than most that we have stayed at.
This is the best hotel in the area. Newer property. Large spacious rooms. Clean Rooms! Nice breakfast selection. Spotless dining area. Terrific Staff. Fantastic location to/from everything. Great price for a great stay.
We rerouted north from Rawlins, WY to avoid high winds and the possibility of road closures between there and Cheyenne. I chose this hotel because it was close to I-90, had a restaurant in the area, and the rates were great. As it turned out, taking into account sleep quality, cleanliness, room equipage, and the breakfast, this was the best of 11 hotels in which we stayed. Desk service was excellent with good local directions. I would definitely stay here again.
New hotel, hallways still smelled like new carpet . Free upgrade to a bigger room with two tvs and a couch . Breakfast buffet was clean and well stocked. Staff was all very knowledgeable and helpful. Overall I would definitely stay here again.
very clean establishment, with a great staff. Breakfast was super, with a good variety of quality foods. Beds were really comfortable, but the pillows were all too hard and too puffy - would have been a perfect trip if only I'd brought my own pillow!
We love exploring the Black Hills and visiting our son in college. This hotel is a great landing place. New and clean with a great breakfast to fill you up for a day of hiking plus easy access to businesses in Rapid City. This is our place to stay in RC especially with their Rewards program.
This was the best hotel stay our group has had. We have a traveling basketball group for 7th grade girls and quite a few of us to mention! I was in charge of setting up a room block for the team and parents. All of the parents were so thrilled with how clean and new the Rapid City Plus Best Western was. We were impressed by the value and included breakfast was fantastic! The staff was very accommodating and so nice! They were always working so hard whenever we saw them. You gotta stay here!
You talk about clean!!!! Great price point, great breakfast, great rooms, pool with hot tub, easy place to get where you need to go from a location, the staff let us in early to our room and helped multiple times when I needed help for a business meeting I had the next day.
Made the trip back home to see my family. I've only been gone a year and a half or so, but this is my second time coming back and staying at a hotel. The first time I stayed at Best Western Ramkota...who can resist that pool?! This time we decided to stay at the Best Western Plus because, well, lets be honest, it's a new hotel and it was less points, as I was using points for the room. The hotel was amazing! I loved the fact that they have a free continental breakfast. Whereas, the Ramkota does not. The breakfast guy was absolutely amazing!!! I cannot give him enough kudos for his hospitality. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The heat lamp in the bathroom didn't work but it was fixed as soon as I brought the issue to the staff's attention. I LOVED how you can submit maintenance requests and any other issues on the computer and they text you a response! This was super helpful as we spent our days with my family and were not at the hotel. I received the text as I was taking my nephew to hockey. How convenient! Some of the front desk staff were not very friendly but overall, this was a great hotel and we will be staying again! Thank you!
We stayed one night for a business trip. The front dest was helpful and friendly, the rooms were very clean and nicely arranged, and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast was very good and kept restocked in a timely manner. The spa was also comfortable.
We moved my Daughter to Salt Lake city for work, stay and enjoyed our stay ever time. could't of ask for any better service than we received. thank's to all there employees. And to the company itself.
I normally stay at Best Western Plus hotels because they are clean and comfortable. The hotel in Rapid City is no exception. It has great parking and is very accessible, yet far enough from heavy traffic that it is quiet. The temperature control unit is wall mount thermostatically controlled so it does not run all night. It's just like a home system. Nice! We slept in and barely made it to breakfast in time yet there was still plenty without an excessive amount they would have to throw out. Staff was friendly and helpful. Great place! Give it a try.
I enjoyed the cleanliness and how polite and nice the people at the hotel were, I would recommend the Best Western Plus in Rapid City, SD, that will always be my first go to......... thanks for keeping a well clean building and a different choice of meals!
Dont miss this hotel if you need a place to stay in Rapid City. At only 9 mos old, it's in excellent condition, clean & comfortable. And you cant beat the price under $50. Stay a few days and enjoy. Did not utilize pool or dining. But dining was close by.
Had a great experience. Staff was excellent. Spent 3 nights in Rapid City. Hotel location is easy to access and close to everything. For the price, this hotel was way beyond my expectations. Staff was friendly and very helpful.
I have become a big fan of Best Western Plus. Every property we have stayed at has been excellent, this one is no exception. The public spaces are very nice and the rooms are way above average. You can book with confidence.
Stayed here on my way to Nevada for a personal trip. The motel front desk staff was wonderful and accommodating. The room was very clean, roomy, and very fair price. Will stay here again as the breakfast was sufficient and the folks in charge of it were very helpful and kept warm/cold food stocked as needed. Really quite a nice stay
We are very appreciative of all employees at this hotel. Very friendly, and customer service was outstanding. It's hard to be away from home and find a hotel with good customer service, but, we are extremely happy for our stay at the Best Western, Class A Customer Service. Thank you all
As soon as you walk in the door you are met with the smell of a brand-new hotel. Then you step up to the front desk and are met with a friendly, first-rate staff. The room itself was exceptionally clean, with high ceilings and an exceedingly comfortable king-sized bed that felt bigger than normal, for some reason. There were plenty of outlets available in useful locations. The bathroom had modern touches and good-sized counter space. Breakfast was fairly standard for a Best Western, but the breakfast staff kept the area very tidy and well-stocked. Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay here and appreciate the staff who work hard to make it such a nice experience. Next time we're in the area we'd stay here again, no question.
Hotel very noisy, doors slam very loudly and you can hear talking from adjoining rooms. Beds uncomfortable. Front desk staff very unfriendly. The only pros are that the hotel has a great location and is new, under a year old, so clean and nice decor. Housekeeping staff excellent, very friendly and helpful. Front desk staff should clean rooms and let the housekeeping staff work the front desk.
Newer hotel. Best hotel we've stayed at in awhile. Super clean. Rooms were large (family of 6) perfect for our younger kids. Pool is small but was empty when we went. Staff was great. Breakfast has higher end choices. Stayed for sports. Will be staying again
This Best Western is new and has 2 room suites. It is minutes from downtown and a short drive to Mt Rushmore. The hotel is pleasingly decorated. Breakfast is provided and it is well cooked and varies each day. Will definitely stay here again.
This is a great place to stay. Our favorite of the three places we stayed in during our visit to the area. It is clean and the employees are very friendly. This is the first Best Western Plus we have stayed in and now, I will always stay at one if there is one available where I travel. Breakfast was good and always replenished quickly when items got low. If you are tall, you will like the shower head, as it is mounted high. I highly recommend this place if you are in the area.
Clean and new. Easy parking. Short drive to restaurants, Cabelas and the mall. Great a/c allows for a very cool room. Wish the shower head would swivel. Spacious elevator. Favorite place to stay close to the airport.
BW+ was very clean, rooms are quiet and breakfast had wide selection. All staff we interacted with were pleasant and friendly. The location is ideal for all the things we wanted to do and see. I would choose BW+ again.
I try to stay at Best Western Plus hotels wherever I travel because I think they have high standards of cleanliness and are extra friendly. This hotel is very new and is outstanding. The staff was excellent...room was wonderful. We will certainly stay here again when in Rapid City!
The hotel is only seven months old and it's beautiful. It's located right off the interstate so was easy to find. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and the bed was so comfortable.
This stay was a quick overnight stay but we did not have reservations until the last minute. We left Wyoming and found the hotel while driving. Best Western is definitely improving their image by remodeling older hotels and building new ones.
We stayed at Best Western for our to the Black Hills. And really enjoyed our stay. The room was great. The staff was always very helpful and the breakfast was excellent. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip.
This is a brand new hotel by Best Western but the hotel chain is now offering the “Plus” chain and the accommodations and staff are great. We stayed here after visiting Mt Rushmore and came in tired after a day of travel. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. Very nice hotel with affordable rates. This is a good thing Best Western is doing as long as they don't jack up the rates. Thanks for a good stay.
It was a very nice hotel, very friendly staff, warm and inviting. They take dogs which was huge for us because we are traveling with two dogs Breakfast was good, overall it was a nice clean hotel and I would definately stay there again.
Newer hotel so it was very clean! The only drawback was there were no blackout curtains, just sheer ones that lacked privacy. The breakfast was great and so was staff. Would stay again, can't go wrong here!
We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. Thoroughly enjoyed this stay as we did different day trips from Badlands to Needles Highway. It was nice be near a lot of different restaurants but still be on the outskirts of everything. Downtown Rapid City was enjoyable. Breakfast was great as this is a newer hotel there is a large dining area to sit and enjoy your breakfast. Would definitely stay here again!
This hotel has only been opened about 6 months. The room was large, plenty of towels, and the business center was excellent. I had the pool to myself two days when doing water aerobics but one day I was with others in the pool. There was plenty of towels in the pool area and it is deep enough for a good exercise routine. Breakfasts was excellent with plenty of variety. Coffee was available 24 hours in the lobby. Close to several chain restaurants.
Rushmore vacation. Hotel is not within walking distance to very much. It is not in the downtown area but the price is inline with the downtown charges. It is new (6 months) and experiencing some growing pains.
I booked a room for 3 nights with 2 queen beds for a trip to Badlands and Mount Rushmore. I am a Best Western Rewards Platinum member and was upgraded to a Suite with 2 queen beds for no charge. The hotel was not that busy and it just opened a few months before my stay there. The room was spacious, the furniture was comfortable and looked brand new, and the beds were very comfortable for sleeping and taking naps. The bathroom was bigger than average compared to other hotels I've stayed in, and I like having the extra space so I do not feel cramped. The hot water for the shower worked wonderfully and the water pressure was consistent. The free breakfast in the morning was super and tasted great. There was quite a rain storm on my first night here and my friend and I wanted to go out and get some dinner. The parking lot had about an inch of standing water and my shoes got soaked while I was walking out to my car. The parking lot appears to be angled in a way that the water does not drain off the lot correctly, so I made sure to park in a spot where there was good drainage when I returned. Only downside was that the spot was not as close to the building. Overall, great new hotel and I would definitely stay here again. The service was on-par with expectations.
we had a very pleasant stay at this hotel, which is in perfect condition with a like new feel to it. Rooms are well appointed with nice decor and great bathrooms. In a slightly "off" location for nearby dining, helpful staff provided excellent recommendations and directions. Breakfast was the same as at the typical " Inns and Suites", but at excellent quality and quickly replenished when needed.
Great service, great location, very clean, nice breakfast, helpful staff. We were rained out of several venues during the day, and they accepted us early and accommodated us for an unplanned extra night. I can'say enough good things about it.
We normally stay at another hotel, however, Best Western Plus had the best rate and the most amenities for our money. I recommend staying here when visiting the Black Hills. It is a great base hotel for exploration or just for a relaxing weekend.
Hotel has over 90 rooms, But, has only 1 washer, and 1 dryer.(terrible). I spent over two and a half hours trying to do one load of cloths. Not good! Other people were waiting for the only dryer after I finished at ten thirty at night. I spoke with the manager the next morning, and he said he was aware of the problem, but a solution was out of his control. I have been a best western member for some time, service like this will make me consider other hotel options.
The room was nice, and the staff was helpful. The decor was nice. the room was spacious, and the elevator was roomy.I would recommend to anyone to stay in this hotel. I give it five stars. The breakfast was among the best.
New and easy access to everything. Great place to stay. Quiet, clean room, hotel was new. Breakfast had many choices including gluten free. Close to interstate, easy access to Mt Rushmore or Badlands National Park. Only regret was we did not stay here longer!
We stayed here four nights. The front desk staff was cordial but not really friendly which is why I rated it a 4. The hotel is clean. Our room was clean. Housekeeping staff is friendly and goes out of their way to make you feel welcomed. The free breakfast offered is excellent with a variety of food choices. I would stay here again. My only suggestion is work with front desk staff on being friendlier and more helpful.
We came to Rapid City to visit the Black Hills, Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, The Badlands were on our list of things to see. We also went Custer park, Sturgess andSpearfish Canyon. As well as Boulder Canyon! We really could of spent a couple more days in the area.
We had made reservations as we were bringing our Harley's up for the Sturgis Rally. Our son, in his early 20s, on his way up earlier the day of our arrival was involved in an accident (he is ok). Therefore we were unable to get there that evening. I wish I could remember who I spoke to, because I could hardly explain to her we were unable to check in that evening as I was so upset and crying- a scared Mom at the possibility of what could have been and what had happened, that I'm sure I would be charged but it sounded like we would be able to still be able to attend as my son insisted we do. I wondered if there was any possible way our reservations might be shifted forward a couple days. I had no hope as there are seldom any rooms left ANYWHERE in the hills during the rally. Not only did she not charge us for the missed night, she worked out moving the reservation forward, and at the end of the conversation gave to me all I can describe as “a hug with her words”. The AMAZING service here started far before we even walked through the door and continued throughout our stay. EVERYONE was top notch; house keeping, breakfast, night staff. Completely great. You cannot go wrong here
This is a new property in excellent condition. The staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast is good and the staff works hard at keeping it well stocked. I have no hesitation in recommending this property.
Upon entering, the place is gorgeous and smells brand new. The lady at the desk said it is six months old. I loved it. Breakfast was great. We stayed on the fourth floor which was very quiet. I would definitely stay here again!
Spent 2 nights here with family of five. 2 queen beds and a pullout couch. Comfortable large room. Clean bathroom. Good gym. Breakfast was excellent. Great location near highway to get to sites. 10 minutes to city. Ate at kol. Terrible experience. Bar in town. Independent ale house was good. The parks were amazing.
We go to the rally to enjoy riding in the Black Hills, obviously not for the Sturgis partying. This was a great place to stay with easy access in any direction each day. Great breakfast variances each morning, helpful staff. Could use a Pergola or other shade structure on the back patio to alleviate the late afternoon sun/heat for those of us enjoying a cold beverage.
This hotel In Rapid City is one of the most enjoyable places we have stayed this summer. The staff is professional and approachable. Breakfast is awesome! This location is excellent towards interstate and state highways for access.
This Best Western was exactly as described on this site and the hotel's site. It is still a very new property (5 months old). It was close to the airport (8 miles) but also close to shopping & the town of Rapid City. Easy drive to Mount Rushmore & the many other awesome traveler destinations in the Black Hills area. We had a king suite, which was quite large with a sitting area & 2 televisions (unnecessary). They could've installed televisions with the swing out articulating arms & achieved the same effect by being able to watch television from both the bedroom area & sitting area. The decor was ultra modern, the bed was comfortable and crisp sheets. We had a slight issue with a few hairs in the shower. The front desk remedied the issue immediately & also offered a discount/points on our account for the inconvenience. That's customer service! We didn't really use the breakfast buffet, just grabbed yogurt & fruit from it on our way out a couple of days. It did look quite adequate if we had decided to eat. They had sausage & bacon, eggs/omelets, potatoes & the usual sweet rolls/bagels fare. They had a guest laundry room, which we used on our last day as we were traveling to another destination from Rapid City. We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 nights at this home away from home. Thank you for a great stay!
We stay at various hotels throughout the year but this was by far the best experience we've had. The hotel was excellent, the room we were in had more than enough space for our kg family and the staff very efficient.
New hotel and everything was great. From the room to breakfast to the whole staff we had a wonderful experience!! Will definitely stay here again if the opportunity arises. Bonus was the baby cows in the field at the back of hotel. Adorable.
Very nice property but that is where it ends. The staff and management very poor. Cleaning staff took something from our room. Spoke with the General Manager which really had no concerns. He did not reach out to us for the remainder of stay. Had no room service for 6 nights. Our choice. After complaining the staff never spoke to us. There loss
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff was courteous and very friendly. The room we had was spotless and very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent with many selections and was constantly replenished. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
This was an excellent place to stay. Very clean and well kept. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was great with many food options. Lots of seating as well. Would definitely recommend! Also extra towels were placed in rooms (sometimes you have to ask for xtra).
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Brand new, great breakfast, and pet friendly. It was a perfect location for all of our sight seeing in South Dakota! This location was also conveniently located close to local restaurants and stores.
This is a fantastic new hotel! The rooms were clean, the staff was all friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was amazing. It advertises a continental breakfast but in my opinion this was way more than that. They had eggs, waffles, cereal, bagels, fresh fruit, bacon, sausage, and more. They definitely had something for everyone. The pool was a good size, not too big and not too small. Perfect for families. The hot tub was also fantastic as well. If you are going to Rapid City, don't look around and just boom this hotel. You won't be disappointed.
Hotel only been open a few months. Spacious room, clean & nicely decorated but horrible pillows! Coffee setup in bathroom which takes up space. Lobby is very pretty. Front Desk associate working when we checked in wasn't very friendly & when we left to go to dinner, she was sitting in the lobby watching tv! Several restaurants nearby including awesome steakhouse.
This is a great place to stay if you are heading to Rushmore, Custer, hill city area. Easy on/off to the highway. Resturants and gas stations right there. Beautiful facility, outstanding staff. Beds are great and a wonderful breakfast. I can only look forward to the next time I am in the area.
Lovely new hotel with modern decor, great breakfast, fitness center and pool area. Hands down the most comfortable mattress I have ever slept on. Definitely recommend and we would stay here again if in the area.
A new facility with the kinks worked out. Will stay here whenever I am in the area. Friendly people on staff and helpful to make your stay enjoyable. The breakfast staff was kept extremely busy but kept up with a smile.
At the time of our stay the hotel is only 4 months old so everything is fresh and new. Front desk staff with friendly, helpful and polite. Food for breakfast was great options and comfy seating. Would definitely return to this location.
Stayed for a family get away. Rooms were quiet, just had an issue with air conditioning. Would recommend this hotel for future stays. Location was great and easy to get to. Kids loved the pool but a but small.
Great hotel. Very clean and nice attentive staff. Breakfast is amazing too. We were traveling in a camper and the bad weather forced our family of four to look for a hotel because we were finished with the bad weather. We are happy we found this Best Western!
The hotel seems very new. The room was clean and nice, the breakfast was very good. We would definitely stay there again. It's a little expensive, but overall we were pleased. We used it as a home base while visiting local sights (Mt Rushmore, Bear Country USA, Badlands and Custer State Park).
It was the 4th of July and motel space without prior reservations were difficult at best. We were fortunate to find a room at this facility. It was a newer facility with large rooms that were well appointed and comfortable. The lobby area was pleasant as was the staff. The breakfast area was roomy, comfortable and they had an excellent variety of food available. There were at a minimum of 2 people servicing the breakfast area continually. The front desk staff was friendly and professional.
Really wanted to like this hotel but it needs a bit more training clearly. The place is brand spankin' new so I expected it to be pretty clean however I was very disappointed when we checked into our room and found the bathroom was covered in hair. Multiple lengths/colors so I know it was obviously dirty for awhile and just ignored. I mean we're talking CLUMPS of hair. The room part seemed pretty clean and I enjoyed the size and style of the room. The air conditioner was also good and strong so no complaints there! Cleaning lady took my daughters swimsuit that was hanging on the door and we had to call down and go get it ourselves - not really much apology or reason why it was taken either. That was a bit unsettling. Breakfast area is very nice and there's a good amount of seating, but in the 20 minutes we were down there the eggs and bacon were empty and I didn't see a single employee come out of the back room the entire time.
My wife and I decided to stay here on our trip to Mount Rushmore and this hotel was spectacular. All of the staff members were friendly and helpful. The property is new and immaculate. We got a great room at a fair price. The hotel is close to a lot of stores and restaurants for added convenience. We will definitely stay here again
I believe that when I booked this hotel, it said it was just in the process of opening. Well, it certainly felt new. It had a modern appearance, and everything was clean. The pool and hot tub were a decent size, and the breakfast area was nice and large. Breakfast itself was very typical for a Best Western. The wifi was pretty fast. It was a tad more expensive than a bunch of other similar options, but given the newness it was worth it.
The hotel was very clean and the staff was very friendly. There was a variety of breakfast items which was always hot and fresh. The hotel was quiet at night so we were able to sleep well.It was a family oriented hotel.
Everything was wonderful during our stay , the reason i stay at b/w Close to everything , nice people beand new hotel The only problem car battery died in parking lot Hotel GM jump started car for us to get us statrtef Thank you again
Brand new and clean. The rooms are spacious, contemporary, and well designed. The breakfast actually included fresh cut-fruit which was a rarity on our 5,000 mile trek across the country. Great staff. PERFECTLY CLEAN! This place completely spoiled us as we suffered through inferior hotels throughout the rest of our journey.
The hotel was built just a few months ago so everything inside was brand new and very clean. We stayed 4 nights and I have to say it was the right place to stay. Nothing to complain about. Breakfast was good, beds were comfortable, hotel was clean and the staff was friendly.
Just had a quick trip through and enjoyed the stay. Very convenient and comfortable. We typically stay at Best Westerns now because service and price is usually very good. I will stay here again for future trips!
Stayed 6 nights at this hotel. Very conveniently located as a base of operations for a trip to The Badlands, Mt. Rushmore, Deadwood, and other area attractions. About 1 hour away from those different locations and centrally located among them. The hotel is very new and looks it. Clean, quiet, and very nice. It's located just outside Rapid City on the east and is near plenty of gas stations and restaurants. The breakfast was the best of the three BestWesterns I stayed at on this 9 day trip. The rate for the room was amazing. I highly recommend this place.
Brand new. The hotel is conveniently located, and wasn't here last fall. Everything about it was excellent including the breakfast. The breakfast was varied, and had the best waffles I have ever had on a breakfast bar.
Almost brand new hotel with a great staff! Stayed in a suite for 4 nights and because it was so great we came back the night before we flew out in the same week and stayed in a 2 queen room. Both were roomy with super comfortable beds and bedding. Towels were soft and absorbent. Breakfast in the morning had lots of variety and always had a good protein source. This was a great central spot for visiting the sights in west South Dakota. We easily visited The Badlands, Mt. Rushmore, Custer State Park, Needles Hwy, and Spearfish Canyon from this hotel. The staff here were friendly and helpful. Our flight was cancelled for the first night of our reservation and they happily did not charge. They also overcharged us one night but after calling them they refunded my money quickly. So glad we chose this hotel in Rapid City!!
This was our first time staying at this BW, we chose this hotel for it's location. All the staff we had contact with were very helpful. The hotel was new and everything was very nice. Our room was quiet and had everything we needed. Breakfast had a nice variety and was kept very neat and clean, we especially enjoyed the lady that was working the dining area. Definitely a place we would stay in our next trip to Rapid City!
What a fantastic, upscale new hotel. Nicest best Western I have ever stayed in. Spacious, new, clean, luxurious rooms. By far the best value I have ever had in a hotel! Low priced, excellent upscale hotel. Almost want to keep this little secret to myself!
Brand new hotel with very helpful, professional and friendly staff. I called the hotel directly for my reservation and my request was handled completely to my satisfaction. I will be traveling to Wyoming more in the future and plan to stay at this hotel.
New hotel with all the amenities and super friendly accommodating staff. Made our vacation very enjoyable while still being able to stay on a budget. They cancelled my reservation with out a penalty because we did not think we could make it due to a storm. When we showed up they were able to reset up everything with no issues.
