Best Western Plus Chelsea Hotel

Upon arrival the clerk had trouble getting our credit card to work for the standard deposit in case of damage. We liked the spacious room & furnishings. At breakfast, however, we didn't like the woman who stands guard over the kitchen which is not self serve! You have to ask her to get you what you want (packaged oatmeal vs. readymade, yogurts, etc.) The only thing you can get yourself is coffee. They also had ready made eggs but she had to serve and hand it to you. She didn't even cook a custom order which is the only time I've ever seen a person stationed in the breakfast room. She was also gruff in her manner standing guard over the breakfast food. Way too early to end breakfast also at 8 or 8:30 am on a weekday depending which sign you read (the one in your room or the one at the breakfast room). Coffeemaker (Keurig) didn't operate very well in room. I'd give this place a thumbs down for the breakfast situation. It doesn't work. Self-serve as most hotels offer is much better.

This is the nicest hotel in the Monticello area. The pool and hot tub are always clean. We usually get a king suite when we stay here, because we like the extra space that accommodates the sofa bed and second TV. The staff is incredibly nice and helpful. They exhibit "Minnesota Nice" to the fullest extent. There is always parking available. The hotel is close to restaurants and next door to the drop off location for Groome transportation that goes to the airport.

This is a great place to stay and the staff is all very friendly and helpful. Very family friendly. Breakfast is great, there are many options to choose from.

Manager is above and beyond so are his staff. Clean room. Stay at this hotel at least 25 times a year. Breakfast is served by hosts. It is a two star breakfast. Swimming pool is nice and clean. Have a awesome coffee machine to make different coffees.

I stay here a number of times a year and the staff is always friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good and I like that it is prepared. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because they don't have a lounge ;)

I was surprised at the level of service and options available for my stay, while I didn't book in advance. The hotel staff were kind and accommodating, the room clean, the bed comfortable and the location was great.

Best Western Plus Chelsea Hotel in Monticello, MN is easy to access from I-94. The hotel is very clean and well-maintained. Staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious, beds are comfortable, rooms are very clean, breakfast is very good. There is a pool available and a daily newspaper is available in the lobby. The lobby has a nice seating area and the hotel is a very pleasant stop in your travels.

Great BW PLUS.....clean as a whistle.....lovely staff....VERY clean and fresh room... TV was a bit 'dull' in picture quality....but overall a very nice place to stay. I had to go out to a place for breakfast because of the very limited selection of breakfast items....just was not for me....but as far as the rooms and staff....they were great.

This hotel is not up to the standards I've previously experienced at Best Westerns. It compares more to hotel chains that are rated in a lower category. The mattress was mushy; no Kleenex in the bathroom; identical hot breakfast as lower category hotels. I expected better.

We choose Best Westerns for the breakfast and pool. Usually they are all somewhat predictable and some are better then others but it's expected that some are slightly better. This one was the most awkward breakfast we have ever had! First, it only lasts from 6-8am which isn't convenient. Second, selection was crazy limited and small. Most importantly, nothing is worse then having someone there to scoop food onto your plate and having to ask for what you want! Giving you more of something that you didn't want. Doesn't help the food tasted old and gross and therefore we didn't eat. On a possitive note: The guy at the front desk was very nice and helpful. The rooms were very clean and nice. The pool was nice!

The check-in process was smooth and easy, the front desk staff was polite and helpful. The room was very clean, and the bed was beautifully appointed and very comfortable. I was a little perturbed when my room key didn't work after 11 am as I was loading my car to leave. To their credit, the housekeeping staff would not let me into my room which I understood for safety reasons. However the first key I received from The front desk staff didn't work so it required I make another trip to the front desk to obtain another key. I was a little irritated at that and bless housekeeping's hearts they apologized profusely which quickly diffused my irritation. Overall a great stay, will definitely stay again.

Very clean and awesome staff. Breakfast was great. We only spent one night but would stay there again if need to. Nice pet friendly hotel, put us on the 1st floor near an exit for the dog. It was perfect!

We loved this hotel! Celebrated Christmas Eve with family in Monticello, MN and wanted a hotel close to where the family lived. It was a perfect location and only 6 miles away. Even though it was Christmas Eve and spending a night at a hotel seemed a little lonely, but this hotel was so homey and charming that it felt like "coming home" for the night.

Hotel was clean(inside and outside). The room was clean(bed, bathroom). Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast area was clean at all times. There was something different to eat each moring. I felt safe where hotel was located.

This stay was good from start to finish the pool area was very nice the breakfast was hot and very good we thought we left one of our child's game case there the cleaning staff looked for it and the front desk called us back to let us know they did not find it.

The hotel's location made it perfect for the activities we had planned near the Mississippi River. The staff was friendly & knowledgeable. The room was clean and modern. The bed was very comfortable. The pillows were so nice that I bought one when we checked out.

Easy on-off from I-94. Cindy at the front desk was very friendly and helpful and check in was easy. Nice bright, clean lobby. Lots of parking. Room was clean and spacious. Air conditioner was very quiet and little traffic noise either. Bathroom was spotless and supplied with toiletries and lots of towels. The lighting in the bathroom is very dim at first but then slowly brightens up a bit - the one place where bright lighting is needed. The toilet flushing mechanism was very slow & had to be held down until flush was done …& toilet seat was loose - definitely needs an upgrade! Internet was spotty. Breakfast was very basic and all food items were handled by 2 friendly ladies and given to the guests, both fine ladies wearing gloves & masks. Tables that had been used were quickly sanitized. Sleepyheads beware! - breakfast here is super early & short….from 6-8 am! Bed was very comfortable. Good place for an overnight.

The staff was so pleasant and the location is great, right off interstate. The manager was so friendly to work with in booking our group. Check in was seamless and the breakfast was good too. Lots of restaurants near by.

Short visit last minute . Just a overnight stay. The staff was very nice breakfast was really good and help for the breakfast was very nice and communication was nice. If I had to stay in that area I would definitely use the hotel again.

Rooms & beds were very clean and comfortable, including the sleeper sofa which was a surprise. Breakfast is a little disappointing...you have to stand in line to get served and space is limited since it's next to the front desk. Front desk staff was wonderful, especially the night clerk who came around while we were at the pool and asked if we needed anything. Also very quiet there so another plus. And plenty of restaurants nearby so you won't go hungry. Very happy with our stay and highly recommend this hotel.

The staff were friendly and professional. The room was also relatively clean and well equipped with larger than normal mini refridgerator with adjustable settings and freezer space that kept ice block frozen. More attention to cleaning toilet needed. Beds overly soft and pillows felt half stuffed. Breakfast options limited and no buffet option but servers very helpful. Breakfast hours.only 6-8 so no option to sleep in if you want breakfast, plus no coffee available.after 11am where most hotels offer it 24 hours. Will not choose this chain if other options available.

It is always pleasant when you stay at a motel and everything is great and you feel you have no worries. This was even more helpful as we were gathering for a funeral. Great staff...everything well done!

It is clean. They have courteous staff. I did not have to wait for service. Free and convenient parking. It is a quiet town. My spouse had been there twice before and all was pleasant during those stays too.

The hotel was clean and the staff was wonderful. They even opened up a half hour early for breakfast, since our hockey team had an early game. Plus the guy at night checked in on us to make sure we had everything we needed.

***** Poor Customer Service***** I called in the morning and asked about checking in early. Was told they could get us in at 2pm. Perfect! Arrived at 2pm and she told me she could not check us in until 3pm! We drove from 3 hours away for a dance competition. The doors open at 3pm, she dances at 3:30pm and has to be fully dressed, makeup, stretched and ready in 30 minutes! We will never stay at this location again or recommend it to our family or friends when traveling here!

I have been attending retreats held at this hotel for about 8 years, two to three times a year. Unfortunately, I have had to skip a few lately. But the staff is so welcoming, they remember the group and make us feel at home.

Places dirty !!!! I don't think they clean rooms ,shampoo and conditioner has been used before me ,they use Hand towels is regular walls carpet looks like never been clean before… and definitely be careful with breakfast. This please should be close down long time ago

We celebrated Christmas there with our family. They came to the hotel to swim with us. They were very accommodating and generous with the towels. We had a great time! Definitely would go there again!!

A very clean hotel almost spotless and great hot water with lots of pressure. The staff is helpful and courteous especially at the breakfast bar where they serve you a hot meal, it is not buffet style and I like that! I spent 2 comfortable weeks there - my hotel of choice in Monticello.

Stopped on our way out of Minneapolis to stay for the night without a prior reservation. The clerk at the front desk was helpful and got us the lowest rate plus the hotel was quiet and clean. Definitely recommend.

This hotel was clean, quiet and comfortable.. We were needing to stay in the area for a family gathering and chose this place as we travel with our pet. We were impressed by the cleanliness and kind staff. Thankful to have a place where we can bring our dog, as we no longer travel without her!

We passed a pleasant quiet overnight. Beds were comfy. Check in was easy. Suggestion for dinner from PizzaRanch was a good one. First floor accommodations since we were traveling with a one year old puppy were exactly what we needed. Breakfast was skimpy and you couldn't really see what was available as it was heavily guarded.

We had a good time except breakfast was weak we had a service dog and very accomitading towards that. Pool was nice hot tub was good people were nice. Enjoyed having the a/c that worked . Will stay again if in the area

I walk in from a long drive and forgot my mask and as soon as I walked in the lady at front desk immediately reminded me which I put it on..Then while checking me in she reminded my 2 more times about masks having to be worn at all times which I agree totally.. Then I come down to go dinner and she's walking around lobby with wearing one till I reminded her..Then I get back from dinner and there is a lady checking in with no mask on??? When I confronted her about it after the lady with no mask walked off she said she didn't even notice??? Power trip maybe? Not sure but rude and bossy front staff if she doesn't like ya...

This hotel is quiet, clean, and friend service. I'd stay there again for sure. I was there for work an my sleep was never disrupted because of noise. My room was always clean an my personal belongings left untouched.

This place is by far the best hotel I have ever stayed at. Staff was so nice. Breakfast was good. The pool water and room where warm. Hot tub was nice and hot. Hotel was very clean. With sanitizer stations all over

The hotel is clean and well kept. The staff are attentive and seem genuine. We were warmly greeted daily upon entering or leaving the lobby. There is ample parking and the driveways are easily accessible.

This motel was a great place to stay.Had the best rating in the area and that was a big option for me.The front desk employees were fantastic. Did not use the pool or other amenities . They put out a breakfast for the guests but the Best thing ever was the bathroom soap...felt so good and soft and smelled great..so wonderful.

We booked into this hotel when our car broke down in Monticello, MN. While we were not happy about the break-down, we really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. They allow dogs, so it was the logical choice for us and our Sheltie. They even provide waste bags for your dog if you ask at the front desk. The hotel had an excellent focus on cleanliness and safety during this Covid-19 outbreak. Our room was lovely. Amenities included an exercise room and a tempting looking indoor pool, which we did not have a chance to try. Coffee is available at the front desk from 6:00am through 11:00am. Breakfast is only available from 6:00am through 8:00am. It is essentially what they would have normally served at their breakfast buffet – just served by a friendly employee. It consisted of scrambled eggs, beef sausage, biscuits and gravy, bagels, cereal , muffins, juice, yogurt and fruit, etc. This was by far the best breakfast of any hotel on our 2 week trip. There are lots of places to get a meal within walking distance, - there is even an Aldi and Walmart only about a 10 minute walk away. The thing that impressed us the most was how accommodating the hotel was. They even gave us a late check-out time when our car repair was delayed by a few hours.

We have stayed here several times and the staff is so friendly and helpful. The rooms are so clean and well maintained. In COVID times this is the only hotel we have been to that still has a hot breakfast, it's not buffet but served individually. They really go out of their way to provide great service!

The hotel was top quality. The breakfast good and a nice variety. The room was well designed and had great seating areas and was well kept. Plenty of parking available. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly.

Location and quality compared to other close by options are huge for this property. Comfortable beds coupled with clean rooms kept me content while the newly remodeled overall atmosphere impressed me. The friendly staff put a smile on my face. The breakfast options were on point and the 24 hour coffee bar was just right for maintaining excitement. When it was time to relax a bit in the evening, the hot tub was clean and inviting. Although there is not a restaurant on the premises, there were several good options within walking distance. I will definitely return.

Had a family reunion & this was our central point. Nice hotel & very accommodating. Great meeting room that we had use of all day & night. Pretty good breakfast included in their rates. Coffee etc available 24/7 free of charge. Decent sized pool. Would stay here again without hesitation.

We were on our way home and we always try to stay in a Best Western because we know we will get a good bed, clean room and convenient location. This facility did not disappoint. Price point was reasonable for the services. We were greeted by a very pleasant gal who accommodated us nicely. The breakfast was extensive and very tasty. If we are ever in the area again we would not hesitate to stay there again!

About once every two years, I stay at this hotel. The staff is always friendly and efficient. The rooms are clean and comfortable and they provide plenty of towels and toiletries. The beds and pillows were also comfortable. The hotel itself is in a good location with easy access to the freeway and nearby shops and restaurants.

This Best Western Plus a Great place to stay while visiting the Twin cities area. I would say a great motel for the money clean and very well kept up. Perry the General mgr keeps it that way. Very friendly staff ! ALSO VERY GOOD LOCATION

We traveled to meet our new grandson. Our stay was so nice. We really had the perfect vacation. The staff was helpful. The rooms were clean and the bathrooms are a nice. We didn't hear any of our neighbors. It was like we were the only ones.

We were traveling with 4 children and booked this hotel because it looked like it had a nice pool and hot tub which it did but, when we went to go swimming we found poop in the pool. Not the hotels fault but still very disappointing since the whole reason for booking this hotel was so the kids could swim.

In town for several family events and had the most awesome experience! Friendly staff and very welcoming. The hotel is clean, fresh and looks like new! I travel on business weekly and stay in many different hotels but this was a real joy - Thanks to Perry and his team for being A+ at what they do!

The facilities were very clean, the rooms were ok, and the breakfast was amazing, but the real reason I would definitely stay here again was the STAFF!!! They were absolutely phenomenal! I have stayed in five-star hotels that haven't had such a wonderful, caring, and attentive staff. Everyone from the front desk person, Gene, to the housekeeping staff were amazing. I am definitely staying here again in the future!

Easy to find, centrally located in the Monticello area. Room was clean, staff was friendly. Didn't get to use the pol or fitness room but they looked nice. Liked the breakfast, good variety, good coffee. I would stay here again.

Very friendly staff. Pet friendly. They were even amazing enough to do a chili dinner and snacks along with movies all night on new years eve.. will stay there again if I am ever out that way. Ask about the swans!! It's an amazing story!!

The staff, services, location, ambiance - we were a large party with numerous rooms and we were all happy with it. Raves about the breakfast quality and the extent of it as well. For our family, it made our stay there in Monticello the best that it could have been under the circumstances which was a family funeral. Thank you Monti BW!!!

We stayed in a 2 queen bed room, the beds were really comfortable, the rooms looked updated, and the complimentary breakfast was delicious. Check-in staff is really nice and also there is a nice front foyer where groups can converse. Close to a Jimmy John's, Subway, Pizza Ranch, and another pizza place for close food. Great one-night stay.

I have been staying here off and on since 2012. The quality and service is perfect, I know what to expect every time I stay there.The staff remembers me by name. The hotel owners are always trying to improve the quality of the property.

We had our daughter's wedding in Monticello and the staff here were very helpful and went above board for us! We put together some swag bags for our out of town family and friends and the front desk staff handed them out for us as designated guests checked in. Our room was very clean and the housekeeping staff did a good job of keeping us stocked with towels. The daily breakfast offerings were great and very tasty! All the staff were very hospitable and inquired about our welfare and excited for our special day! I highly recommend this place!!

When ever I am in the area this is my go to Hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and comfortable! The Outlet Mall is very close if you have some shopping to do. Always have a great stay here.

Staff friendly and confident, and the room was clean, and comfortable. Odd, the ice machine was downstairs near the lobby, but I could understand trying to keep the noise factor down. My experience was almost perfect until noisy arguing and foul mouthed neighbor's 'moved in'. Two hours of door slamming and stomping was unnerving, but not the motel's fault. It did quiet down around 11PM. The motel was off the beaten path, not hard to get to, with plenty of places to eat around. I'd definitely stay there again with ear plugs... lol. Kidding. It was nice.

We had exceptional service and all our needs were met.The staff was friendly and helpful. There were community activities that we were able to participate in and not far from the city if you want to sight see.

We enjoyed our over night stay at this Best Western while traveling. Easy access on/off interstate. Lots of restaurant options near by. Found a nice park with playground near by for the kids to run around and burn up some energy. Hotel was clean and breakfast was good. Would stay again.

Sometimes excellent customer service goes a long way. When we arrived, our toilet had not been cleaned (buildup of gunk/feces under toilet seat). However front desk staff was so apologetic, they came up immediately (like within 5-minutes), and gave us a room credit without being asked. Also the hotel was filled with sports teams. The staff did an excellent job keeping the dining area clean as these teams rotated in/out with their pizza orders and even opened up a conference room so the teams had somewhere to hang out without disturbing other guests. I'd stay here again due to the excellent customer service and truly believe our room cleaning experience was due to one poor employee and not a reflection of the entire staff.

We stayed one night in June 2018 on a road trip with family. We purchased two double queen rooms. The rooms were clean and the fixtures were in good working order. Our room had a refrigerator and microwave (the hotel web site was unclear on this, so I'm clarifying here). We were very impressed with the breakfast. On the morning we departed, the breakfast menu included hot pancakes (from a spiffy pancake machine), oatmeal, potatoes, polish sausage, yogurt, cheese omelettes (typical hotel breakfast style), fruit, treats, and juice and coffee. This was definitely a notch above the typical complimentary breakfast at the major chains. Sue was maintaining the breakfast area and took excellent care of us. The area was clean, neat, and well-stocked. The lobby has a nice seating area with a book shelf full of fiction, non-fiction easy reading, and even an old encyclopedia set! Two luggage carts were available in the lobby. Other features we did not make use of: There is a small- to medium-size pool, but it is straight, so you could do water aerobics or a couple strokes. The pool area looked clean. There was also a fitness room and a guest laundry area available. The location was very convenient near I-94. We would definitely stay here again.

Hotel and rooms were very nice. The Pool was too cold and the hot tub was more like a luke warm tub, was not hot at all!! Breakfast I couldn't tell you about because it ended way too soon, ends at 9am here apparently, everywhere else we stayed was 10am. The TV in the room was also an issue, the picture was way too dark and there is no option to adjust brightness or anything to do with the picture. Just an average hotel.

Our family stayed here for 2 nights. Pretty reasonable AAA rate. They DO take pets, including cats (hard to find hotels that do!) for only an additional $10/night flat fee. Rooms are clean and the beds are pretty comfy. Staff friendly and helpful. The breakfast choices are ok. The eggs were a patty and not all that warm. Only had sausage as the meat choice (I prefer bacon). Overall this is a very nice, clean and well kept hotel. Would stay there again.

The hotel staff was very nice. The hotel / room was clean, nicely decorated and the beds were extremely comfortable. They had good pancakes for breakfast, as well as a choice of eggs and a meat. As a bonus surprise, they had wild rice soup (for free) when we checked in. Delicious and perfect on a cold evening! We would definitely stay here again.

After years of frustration with other hotels in the area, we found ourselves at this hotel. What a relief! While it is just a few dollars more than others in the area, it is worth every penny! We visit the area 3-4 times a year and will be back!

We arrived latest night but we were treated with a smile and cold bottles of water. The room was an upgrade and had two queen beds, and couch,two TVs . The beds were comfortable, room quiet. The breakfast was good and area kept clean.

I've stayed at this Hotel on average of 6 times a year for the past 8 years. I have always found the rooms , staff, and amenities to be excellent. I highly recommend this Hotel to anyone traveling through the area. It is close to freeway , has large variety of restaurants in the area, and shopping .

We visited the Monticello area for leisure weekend with friends. The hotel staff were very friendly. The rooms were clean and comfortable! The pillows were not full size, but were still nice. Enjoyed our stay!

Our stay here happened only because we got stuck due to a snow storm. We had a situation that was unique because I was chaperoning a church youth group. Due to "safe sanctuary" protocol to protect the children of our congregation, we had to have some specific requirements met in order to stay in any hotel. This hotel was the third one that we called and the only one willing and able to meet our needs. The gentleman on staff that evening was truly a blessing and made this stressful situation bearable. He took the time to hear our needs and worked hard to see they were met. The girls all had fun relaxing in the pool and hot tub. The breakfast was great and we were all impressed with the magic pancake maker. The rooms looked like new or newly remodeled and everyone seemed to sleep comfortably on the beds. If stopping in Monticello for a night, or more, I would highly recommend the Chelsea.

Great place to stay. Wonderful breakfast, staff and pet friendly! They went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. It appeared very new, modern and clean! The amenities were great. The pool was clean and tended to!

Okay, yes the place was undergoing a complete remodel, so there was plastic-wrapped new stuff stacked in the hallways, but the place was still spic-and-span, our partially remodeled room was likewise clean as a whistle. Friendly and helpful people at the front desk, breakfast was not too bad. Place was quiet, with nice common and sitting areas with a minimalist 'business' spot - desk, computer, printer. I'll stay there again if I have occasion to.

It is a friendly hospitable hotel. All staff are happy and helpful with a smile. Great improvements with microwaves and refrigerators in every room, new carpet and wallpaper. Easy access, wonderful location and clean.

The staff were friendly and very nice and helpful. The continental breakfast was good so was the in room coffee. The swimming pool and hot tub were nice to come back to and relax in. The room was clean and comfortable as well. We stayed in the Queen suite just for the extra room and it was worth the little extra in the price.

I had a long day and was too tired to drive on. I stopped in at this hotel with no reservations. They were able to accommodate me and give me a bottle of water and an apple on the house. They had a nice complimentary breakfast. The hotel also had a decent size indoor pool.

Last minute trip for equipment parts. Called at 12::30am searching for a room in the area . Great stay friendly helpful front desk experience!!! Heavy footed person above us at 2 am but otherwise a fantastic stay !!!

Not only was the property very attractive, it was also very clean. The employees were congenial especially the gentleman at the front desk. We were very surprised as we usually don't stay at Best Western hotels. This seemed comparable to some of our usuals like Hyatt Place and Fairfield Inns. It was definitely right on par with those hotels. Breakfast was comparable (fairly lame in my opinion). Dining was an issue as there were not really any acceptable (fine dining or even Outback) restaurants that were walkable. The lobby "library" had a fireplace and full set of World Book Encyclopedias plus Yearbooks! It was a pleasant, attractive, welcoming place.

We had a wonderful time and great experience at Best Western in Monticello, MN. Highly recommended. The management and staff went above and beyond to make our experience great. We will definitely return.

The hotel was very clean and organized. All personel was very helpful. The breakfast area seamed extremely clean and orderly. Staff was keeping everything fresh and very attentive. Everything smelt fresh and clean. I was not there extremely long as I was out on job site most of the time.

This is one of the best hotels that you can stay at. It's location is great for my traveling business. The hotel is clean and the beds are great to get a good night sleep. A wonderful place to stay at

I feel that's a little high, but the quality of the employees, room, breakfast, etc. made up for it. Will definitely stay here the next time I'm in Monticello, MN.

This is a nice, clean, quiet hotel less than an hour from the heart of Minneapolis. Staff are friendly, free wifi, decent cable TV, rooms are clean and comfortable. Perfect place to stay if you want to visit Minneapolis but don't want to pay an arm and a leg. Automobile Association and senior citizen discounts.

Always very good stay at this location....staff is great, rooms are very clean, 1st thing I check when I get into room. Breakfast is good, internet is fairly fast with good connectivity. this was the second time I've been here....the 1st time was about a full business week...gets better each time. I'll definitely be back at this BW location.

We were traveling from Yellowstone to Indiana and had been in the car for fifteen hours. We stopped at this Best Western and around 9:00. We were exhausted, grouchy, and feeling rough! This place was a life saver. The rooms were clean. The pool area was nice (and we had it all to ourselves). The breakfast was one of the best hotel meals we've ever had! They had everything. They had biscuits and gravy, eggs, sausage, oatmeal, cereal, bagels etc. The coolest thing was the pancake machine. I think my kids would have loved playing with that even if they didn't like pancakes! Thanks so much for being a nice stop on a very hectic trip home!

The Chelsea BW was exactly what we were looking for! It was clean, no smoke or mildew smells, comfortable bed, nicely decorated, quiet, good breakfast, friendly staff, near - but not right next to - the interstate.

After a long day of drive from MOA and shopping in Albertville on our way back to Canada, we decided to try Best Western Chelsea. We never regretted choosing it. Quiet area and even if it was only for a night we had our best sleep there compared to a couple of nights stay in Bloomington area.

This is probably the best hotel we have stayed at. We were totally satisfied with the hotel itself and the overall staff. Very friendly and gave good recommendations and directions to various places. The ladies in the cleaning staff were very professional in their jobs and did it efficiently. No complaints on any part of our stay. The physical condition of the lobby was super--very clean and appealing.

The bed was great. The room was nice. Breakfast was great, including pancakes option. The common area was pleasant. Including a nice selection of books to borrow or swap one for. We enjoyed the pool and spa as well. The coffee in the common area is excellent, I did not try the in room coffee since my wife does not enjoy the aroma.

Like home away from home for us. My husband will always agree to stay here, we look forward to it, conveniently located near family church restaurant gas station staying here is a good experience, pool time was nice

We were driving in the rain and very tired. Had gone past Monticello, but GPS took us back there for hotel. So glad to find friendly, welcoming gentleman at the desk. Room was very comfortable and quiet. Breakfast menu was sparse, but lady in charge was very nice and helpful

We stayed here for 2 nights. We were on the first floor and the first night a group of people must have been sitting in the breakfast area talking and it sounded like they were right outside our door until about 11:30 PM. The next day, when we returned to our room briefly in the late afternoon, we found that housekeeping had not come into our room. The dirty glasses and mugs were still there, the dirty towels on the bathroom floor, everything was just as it was when we left in the morning. When I went to the front desk to ask about housekeeping, the woman was very apologetic and said something about a discount. That night it was loud again and sounded like a herd of elephants running up and down the hallway on the floor above us. The next day we got our bill for the full priced amount, no discount. When I called the front desk to ask about it, the person said the manager would call me back later that same day. I still have not received a call back. Friends of ours stayed at the Days Inn less than a block away for a much more reasonable price and had a better stay that we did! We will not be back.

Best Western Chelsea Inn in Monticello is a great place to stay. The accommodations are excellent. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly, yet professional. They have a wonderful breakfast selection and at night they provide soup. They have a well maintained pool and whirl pool. The have free wi-fi. They have an exercise room. Could not ask for more.

Stayed in the King Whirlpool Suite. Spacious and relaxing. Would recommend to everyone. Next time we want to get away but not travel far, we'll be staying here in Monticello MN at the Chelsea Hotel Best Western Plus.

I did not have a good experience at all. The hotel was a little on the other side needed some updates. The customer service was not there. I was unable to use reward points to use for my free night stay. Breakfast was not good it lackef a lot of flavor

Very refreshing! Stopped late on my trip from Ohio to North Dakota with my 2 dogs. Super friendly Michael welcomed me and got me a great room for me and my puppies. Room was beautiful and clean, new carpeting. I LOVE SOFT NEW CARPETING Shower worked great, tub drained great. Bed was comfortable. Quiet room. I make this trip often and will return. Now my favorite place! The workers in the morning were super friendly and the breakfast was very good. THANK YOU

They have a way of making you feel at home throughout the entire process. My family and I have been going here for six years now for the same weekend and my kids are the ones that make sure I book it every year. Great Breakfast presentation. provides different soups during the evening, well appreciated during the winter in Minnesota. Great value for the Business traveler and central located to many good restraunts. Staff are more than helpful and very professional.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff was friendly the helpful. The room was a good size and very clean. The kids especially enjoyed swimming in the pool. I'd definitely recommend this hotel if you're looking for a place to stay in the Monticello area.

The staff treats you with respect and professionalism. Not once in a while, but every time. I have been here very often, and if for some reason it's not available, I will drive on. Breakfast is pretty mechanical, but tasty. The soup at night is a nice touch. They were remodeling the outside, but they kept to themselves perfectly. I appreciate everything about this place. Will go again.

Very clean. Recently remodeled. Pools were both open and in good shape. Room was clean and modern. We had RM# 207, wifi worked great. Hot water was strong. Breakfast was good. Pd 130 + tax for 2 queen room

We stayed here a Sat and Sunday night. They are doing some construction outside, but we didn't hear that at all. We were concerned it would wake us up early Monday, but not at all. The breakfast was normal continental breakfast, but they had some one dedicated to keeping things clean and full which was nice

Hotel parking lot, main entrance, pool, rooms and eating area were clean. All staff members were knowledgeable about the area, could recommend stores for our specific needs, were friendly, efficient and helpful. We would definitely stay there again if in the area.

This is one of the nicest Best Western we have been to. The hotel is in a great location just off the Highway with restaurants and shopping. The rooms are very clean and quiet with has a mini fridge. The hotel also is Pet friendly which is very important to us. The Breakfast is amazing and the Staff is always there to help if necessary. Couldn't get any better Left with a great night sleep and a full stomach

This is my favorite hotel. They keep the soup on till 9PM. Nothing better than having hot soup on after driving in the snow from the airport....The staff is fabulous and are always at the top of their game.

Stopped here on the way across the country. Rolled in late and ended up leaving early, but we were still able to appreciate the hotel itself. The staff were quite friendly and willing to help. Rooms were clean and tidy, beds were comfortable, and we slept quite well! Also pet friendly, which was a bonus for us.

I had 20 members of my family stay at Best Western this past weekend for my daughter's wedding. We even held the rehearsal dinner in the conference room - which was wonderful! On Saturday, everyone was caught in a downpour at the outdoor wedding and they offered to throw their clothes and blankets in the dryer for them. I had many comment on the great breakfast and how friendly and helpful the staff was, especially Amber and Cindy! Thank you so much!

Went to visit family for sons birthday I love their suites great breakfast amazing pool a lot of Space in their suites plenty of room for five kids relaxing time in the Hot tub front desk was very helpful helped with a late check out due to my kids sleeping in because their beds were so comfortable

The evening staff were both friendly and accommodating. The room was in need of a remodel and the location is being remodeled. The queen size beds were comfortable but the kiddos stated the pull out bed mattress was horrible and they've never complained about a pull out before. Air condition filters needed to be cleaned. I smell it as soon as I walked into the room.

Loved the friendly check-in staff, clean rooms, clean fresh linens, clean bathrooms. Totally enjoyed my stay. I stayed in room 109 with wife and two kids. I couldn't have asked for better. Good value for the price. Keep it up folks. I will definitely be back.

When we stay at this Best Western, we always invite the grandchildren to come to swim in the pool. We use the breakfast area to have pizza or sandwiches after their swim. The evening soup adds a nice touch and the breakfasts are very good--especially the cinnamon rolls!

Room was clean and quiet which is all I need for business trip. Breakfast was adequate, fruit was sporadic, coffee was great. Having to frequently re-log in on the Wifi was a pain. Hotel staff was friendly and responsive.

Last minute stay, hot soup in the lobby, nice room. We forgot a piece small piece of luggage, we were called a few hrs after we left and told we had left it, they mailed it to us and we had it it 2days. Good staff

We were upgraded to a suite - as Platinum BW reward member. Beautiful rooms - new furniture in the living area.. very clean! Staff friendly, and helpful. Breakfast was normal Buffet fare - but filling. would stay here again.

When we checked in the desk clerk couldn't find a standard room where we requested, so he gave us an "upgrade". Big deal!! Living room area had an old saggy couch, a floor lamp that didn't work and another TV. Don't know who would want to sit on the disgusting couch to watch TV in this room. A desk in the corner but no office style chair to sit on, so you needed to use one of the arm chairs which left you looking up at your computer. Not really that comfortable!!! The worst part was when I tried to take a shower late that night. No evident way to turn on the shower head! I like a shower after a hard day on the road, but not here. When I complained to the desk clerk in the morning, she said the end of the faucet where the water comes out had to be pulled down to divert water to the head. She says it was the only one of its kind in the hotel and she'd had previous complaints. I asked her why they didn't just change it to a standard spout, with a pull up knob on top? I didn't get the clerks name, but wish I had, because she was excellent. I left the bill with her while we went for breakfast. When I came back, she'd reduced the bill by $10, gave me 1000 points, and a card for 25% off our next visit. WOW!!! That is what I call responding to a customer's concerns. This hotel was built in 1999 and shows it. Badly in need of an update.

I love it that they remember my name, room preference, the rooms with the jetted bath tub and mostly that they have the soup hot on a hot snowy Minnesota evening after a long drive in from the airport.

The Chelsea Inn & Suites is an excellent place to stay, whether for a week or a night. The price is reasonable, the beds are very comfortable, there is free breakfast in AM and free soup in the PM. The hotel is located near the interstate highway, so it is convenient for travel.

My kids and I enjoyed our getaway here. For the kids, pool and breakfast buffet are the key things, and Best Western delivered. For me, I want a clean, comfortable, quiet, safe place to stay, and again, Best Western delivered. The front desk staff provided driving directions for our outings. Highly recommended - we'd stay there again!

We had a great stay at the Best Western Chelsea Inn and Suites. The staff was very nice and we never felt ignored. The breakfast was a hot breakfast where we had a combination of pancakes, hot omelettes, ham, oatmeal, yogurt and fruit. The pool was great for our kids and they even accommodated our puppy! Will definitely stay there again!

Extremely well managed pristine property. Very pleased I stayed at this off the beaten path BW in Monticello, MN. Its all about caring management and staff. These folks exhibit the best in what used to be considered "American Pride in Ownership". Clean and comfortable at a reasonable price. Quality property management here for sure.

This is my second stay at this hotel. The property is very clean and well maintained. The staff from the GM to housekeeping are all wonderful. Nice hot breakfast in the morning and hot soup in the evening. Among the "Best" Best Western Hotels; better than some 4 star hotels. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Very nice, affordable, clean, and helpful staff. The breakfast was great, the hot tub and pool area were awesome. The internet was very fast. At check in there was a cancellation and the front desk person gave us a better suited room that was actually cheaper!

We were welcomed by a very friendly staff member who checked us in. Love the hardwood looking floor in the entry way of the rooms. The beds were comfortable. They have real coffee mugs and water glasses instead of plastic and Styrofoam ones in plastic bags. As a REWARDS member we had a little goodie bag waiting for us in our room. Internet was free and easy to login in to. Breakfast was yummy.

I have been holding a group scrapbooking event here at the BW Chelsea Inn twice a year for the last ten years. We are pleased with the location, the cleanliness, the friendly staff, the breakfast, etc. If I had any complaints, it would be how noisy the lobby and breakfast area are in the mornings. I feel that the noise level is increased due to the sound echoing in the open area.

Great rooms and staff. Workout room is very nice too as is the breakfast. They do allow dogs for a charge and there is a Starbuck's at the Target in town. This is my go to spot when traveling through the area and I highly recommend it.

Love this place stay here once a year to visit Daughter. Staff is very friendly always there is a Walmart ,restaurants, very close ! Breakfast is good rooms clean you can also use the anytime fitness that is very close by

were there for Gopher State nationals wrestling tournament, it was a very clean place, friendly staff, nice rooms & comfortable beds. Bathrooms were very clean which was nice to see. Breakfast was good all though the eggs would be nice if they were actually scrambled. A hassle free stay

My daughter I stayed one night for a volleyball tournament. We arrived late and we were offered hot chicken noodle soup. It was unexpected and really hit the spot. The room and clean and the bed was comfortable. I wish I had been able to get a room with two beds, without getting a suite. It worked out fine since we had king.

We enjoyed our stay. Our daughter and her family recently moved to the area so we will be returning to this area and this is the hotel we will be staying at. Everything was great quality, the hotel entrance was inviting, the fireplace was burning, everywhere we went was very clean, and the staff was friendly. Our grandkids played in the pool, it was clean as well.

We have stayed at this hotel a few times and highly recommend the suite rooms, clean and comfortable and the staff is very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was warm and plentiful and we used the laundry facilities which were easy to use.

We were VERY impressed! Wood floor, spacious and awesome amenities. The fresh soup in the evening (5 bowls later) was DELICIOUS! The Manager of this location deserves every award he/she receives. The staff was incredibly friendly. Complimentary breakfast was great (sausage gravy, biscuits - yummy). I would recommend this Best Western to anybody and everybody - we will definitely stay there again.

Overall a very pleasant stay. The pillows were amazing, the rooms had wood floor when you walk in, and everything was clean and well kept. The breakfast was good (they have a pancake machine!) and the staff was extremely helpful. Only issue I had was a draft that was coming through the window. I turned up the heater, but it still fogged up and whistles pretty bad.

If you're traveling to this area, don't consider another hotel! The room was incredibly clean and they have free soup at 5! I would without a doubt stay here again! The staff is there to help with whatever you need. The breakfast is also great, with a variety of hot foods (pancakes, ham, eggs, etc) to yogurt, cereal, and bread foods (bagels/cinnamon rolls/muffins).

Our room was clean and the staff was very nice. Although we did have a few minor issues. The toilet in the mens bathroom in the pool area was broken. The vending machine eats quarters, and when you actually get it to take your dollar the item you select gets stuck. We tried to get three different items and it happened with each one. And the last thing was that our mini fridge in our room did not work so our food went bad durning the night….

Nice hotel, great breakfast. Concerned about large bug found in our room. Bed was uncomfortable. We were told that the bug was a beetle but when we looked it up on the internet & compared it, it was a cock roach. The hotel was clean, the staff is great. We also noticed people had their dogs staying with them. One of the dogs was a Pit Bull & he was a little out of control. The pool area was great, we used it a couple of times.

Had three rooms reserved had to cancel they only canceled one and charged my account as a no-show for 111.00 and 96.00 on the two rooms they say we did not cancel we are a small nonprofit this is a lot of money for us so they must be hurting to steel from nonprofit so stay at your Owen risk

Very clean, comfortable, delightful staff. I have absolutely no areas needed for improvement!! I liked the option of not needing to have linens changed, etc...feels better for the environment. I stayed 2 nights.

This hotel was a good price for the $$$. Booked at the wedding rate for a block of rooms. Very good Customer Service. Nice breakfast room and pool. Rooms were clean . The only negative comment would be that there was no outside area for people to sit at. No patio or picnic table. All the smokers were out in front of the hotel, would of been nice to have had a place for them to go on the side of the building rather than in front of the main door. I'm not a smoker and I would of liked a place to sit at outside of the building as it was so nice out.
