First, the staff was very helpful and friendly. I had no issues with them. The room however, was dated. There is no ventilation in the bathroom, therefore the ceiling was moldy. They need to re-grout around the tiles. I do not know where the race reviews are coming from. Spend the extra money to stay somewhere else.
The room was clean, the area was quiet, and near it's near main highway. There was a nearby hotel and a sheetz in which you could get gas and a snack. I awakened the next morning with the sun shining brightly through my window. A wonderful way to start your day.
When we arrived late at night, we were put in one of three basement room. As soon as you walked down the stairs to the dungeon, the smell of plug in air fresheners and mildew almost knocked you down. Our room was littered with bugs you would find in a damp basement, the fridge was unplugged and leaking water on the floor, the bathroom door had mold on it, the sheets felt damp, the door to the room was not fire rated and allowed hallway light into the room. Luckily the window was large and we could open it to help with the smell. Do not recommend this hotel. I'd you decide to stay here and they give you a basement room, demand a different one!
I can't believe that so many people would say positive things. Rooms are very out dated and disgusting. Beds are uncomfortable. Air didnt work well at all, never cooled off. Trash laying in floor from previous person who stayed. Walls a gross. Holes in the walls cracks in ceiling and paint chipped everywhere. Bathroom covered in mold dirty walls. Never again will I trust reviews for a hotel. Never again will we stay here
This hotel is in a group of several other hotels in Garner NC. The entrance to the parking lot was a little hard to find, we pasted it the first time. The staff was very helpful and kind when we were checking in. The room seemed clean and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast offered a good variety of options, but I couldn't find any butter for my biscuits. We found this hotel to be a good fit and will look into staying when we are in the area again.
I have stayed at the Best Western in Garner many, many times since 2010 and have always had excellent service and experience. The value is very good but even better is the staff at the hotel through the years. Judy has become a very good friend, due to her warm personality and professionalism. Latoya has also been very special in my stays there. Probably my favorite hotel of all time due to their efforts, which includes 5 star international hotels. Thanks for the great memories Judy and Latoya!!!!!
We stayed at this BW for one night before helping our son move to Miami. The location is nice and off to itself. We did not hear any traffic noise at all. The front desk check in staff was very friendly. While not recognized specifically as BW rewards members we were given the thank you gift for being members. Our bed was comfortable. Room very spacious. Everything clean and in working order. The breakfast area was nice. Food was hot and what we needed. Check out was super easy and pleasant as well. I can definately see why this hotel rates as high as it does. It does seem to be an older property, for example the chase lounge in our room was clean but you could see the wear areas on it. Still that didn't affect our stay - it was clean and comfortable. I would recommend this hotel for anyone traveling or in the area for a convenient stay.
Great place to stay. Staff was amazing Ease of checking in and accommodating the type of room I needed was key to such an awesome worry free stay. We will be staying here again when we are in the area.
This was the perfect location for our trip to Raleigh for the Playthrough gaming convention. It was a 7 minute ride to the convention center in a quiet part of town. We were centrally located near restaurants and stores. Rooms were clean, front staff was very friendly! Breakfast was a good value for the money, I just have kids with stomach issues and allergies so we couldn't really utilize it. But it looked good. Waffles, pastries, eggs, sausage, yogurt, juices
All the staff at this hôtel was very friendly and attentive to our needs. The front desk staff was amaizing as well as the cleaning crew , we asked the for an item we needed and they found it for us and bought it to our room. Breakfast was à hot breakfast and the area was kept clean at all times.
The staff was absolutely amazing cheerful and helpful. Room was very nice and super clean. The breakfast was great. It was also super close to downtown Raleigh so it was great for an over night stay and traveling to the Convention Center the next day. I was also pleased that I did not hear other guests during my stay so we were able to rest.
All the staff was very helpful and friendly, they know how to make you laugh and smile by the time your checked in. They make sure that you are well taken care of, they make feel like your home. Thank you BW staff.
Front Desk staff were excellent. Friendly, helpful, and appeared they were happy at work. The room was ok for a 1 night stay. It was clean and smelled fine. The bathroom was small and the shower was horrible. Water pressure was non-existant.
From the moment I walked in the door I was impressed with this hotel. As a professional in the customer service field I have a unique perspective in my evaluations. The front desk personnel were personable and efficient. Lobby was beautiful, rooms were impeccable, beautiful and well maintained. When I checked out I left a bag, as I live 4 hours away I couldn't just pick it up. I was arranging UPS to pick it up but nothing went right but the staff was patient and worked with me till everything worked out. Grateful is an understatement. Would strongly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a comfortable and stress free stay.
Room appeared to not have been vacuumed. Paint peeling in the bathroom, bed linen appeared to not have been clean. The wifi continued to disconnect and when connected had a weak connection. I've stayed in Raleigh in a few hotels in the are this by far was the worst. Won't be using this hotel again.
The hotel staff were great, friendly and helpful. The hotel itself reminded me more of a motel, so I was not happy to have paid $120/night. It should have more been in the $89-$99 range. The area it was located didn't feel the safest (ie, I wouldn't have wanted to take a walk around after dark). The room itself was worn. It was clean and no bugs, but the safety lock on the door was missing a screw (which made it not as safe), the bathroom towel rack was separating from the wall, the door ran for a LONG time after you flushed it. There was a stain on the wall near the desk as if someone had thrown a pot of coffee against the wall. It was cleaned up but still evident. Interestingly, the desk assistant said there was a charge of $200 for smoking because it was a non-smoking hotel, but my room smelled of smoke (like it was in the carpet) and I smelled weed the second day I was there. The hotel was quiet - no people milling about outside or noise in the hallway (and my room was quite close to the elevators).
I often stay at this Best Western location. It's always nice and clean. The staff is really warm and caring! There is breakfast in the morning. This is always a pleasant stay, home away from home! It's worth it!
The front desk was exceptional and was very helpful. I had no issues with check-in and no issues at check-out. My room was very clean and I was comfortable. I will be choosing this hotel when I am on the area
The sheets were clean and bathtub and toilet clean. However, other things...not good. There was hair in the sink. YUCK! Definitely needed a good deep cleaning of the rugs. However, the parking lot might have been the worst. We stayed two nights, came and went several times. There were many (I counted at least 8) beer cans out in the parking lot, in another spot was either the case they came in, or a different case for beer, a container of BBQ sauce sitting in the parking lot for both of those days/nights. It definitely needed some attention.
Disappointed in the whole stay here, left with my skin all itchy felt as if it was to much to ask for breakfast items that should be left out but didn't have much of anything and lady came to start cleaning a good 30 minutes before breakfast closed, room was unpleasant bed was horrible, thought staying at best western it would be a delightful stay and it was far from that!
The staff here are so professional and courteous and truly care about their guests, making me feel like family. Christina has been such a wonderful blessing from day one. She has graciously helped me with all three reservations I've had recently and has made me feel so welcome and at home. She is a true asset to your hotel and company. Ms Judy is also a bright spot in my stay with you all. Your hotel is nice, clean and affordable and the people here are a second family to me and have taken such good care of me. They truly value their guests and care about the quality of their stay. Best hotel and staff I've encountered. Thank you!!
Very Uncomfortable bed's that have old sheets with yellow stains in a few corners. The pillows are also old so they smash and tuck the cases so hopefully you do not notice and they are also uncomfortable. The bathroom shower had a hole in the wall where the pipe for the shower comes out and an OLD bar of soap on the top of the shower wall. Breakfast food was bad BUT the coffee was really good. The woman who checked us in I think her named was Christine was very helpful and nice. I travel a lot and would not recommend staying here!!
The front desk makes one feel like family. Kudos. Wish every hotel made you feel like this. Just came back from a long trip and didn't get in untl quite late, 1:30 in the morning and they were still awake waiting for us. Thank you Best Western Plus Edison Inn.
Motel room was awful with dust and dirt. Walls were filthy and need a coat of paint badly. Beds are worn out and very hard. Pillows were old, lumpy and out of shape. Bathroom toilet was as short as you will find. We just fled out of there as soon as we could after our first night. Stayed long enough the next day to attend a wedding, but could not take 1 more night of this room. Left from wedding and drove 3 hours home. Did not ask for a refund since we used room for getting ready for wedding. I DO NOT recommend this place at all!
If you like roaches have fun. Room was not cleaned regulary during my stay. Dresser was broken, baby ants in bathroom. Only some of the staff was friendly and at check in they didn't seem to care that you were there.
Zero reviews because the front desk lady was wood parking lot was trash all over so it's no absolutely zero reviews from me next times we Will stay somewhere else I'm sure someone else not experienced what happened to us
This was my first trip since everything shut down last year. I was pleased to see the precautions taken to ensure the safety of both staff and guests. Fewer services than usual, but the friendly and helpful staff more than made up for it. Great job - I'll be back!
If you are looking for a cheap room, not worried about musty smells, mold on the ceiling, etc., then this is the place for you. There are lots of signs that say no smoking allowed however, when lying in bed it smelled like someone was smoking next to me when the AC unit went on. I even looked outside to see if anyone was out there but there wasn't. The closet doors had some water damage; the bathroom ceiling had black mold. I know that the room price was affordable but come on, at least provide a product that represents the company, represents BW, rather than representing the slum lord of an owner.
The BW Edison is my Favorite hotel in the Raleigh area. Clean, well managed, one of the best Hotel Staff's in the United States. I drive 10 miles from my business location to stay here, and believe me there are plenty of alternatives much closer to my business activity in Raleigh, but if a room is available here, that is where I will stay.
I am a native of Garner, NC, and the Best Western Edison Inn is my favorite Garner hotel of all time, and I am 48 years old. The rooms are beautiful, and the beds are SO soft. I get such wonderful sleep when I stay at this hotel. The staff at this hotel are extremely friendly, and always make you feel like a valued customer. The Customer Service at this hotel is top notch and it always has been. This hotel also has a VERY nice Business Center too. If you have never stayed at this hotel, trust me, you will absolutely love it. Pamela Kitchen Native of Garner, NC Best Western Rewards Member
Upon arrival to our room, there was a strong odor of weed and cigarettes. The smell was so strong that it made my nose hairs stand up on end! The front desk clerk was very nice and offered to spray refresher in our room to help with the smell. I have stayed in this same hotel for several years for the same conference, but this will most likely be my last time here. When we got back to the hotel on the first night, there was a homeless man in the parking lot with an open 5th of liquor, when we returned from supper, it was raining so he moved to the covered porch right near the front door with his bottle. Had I not been with other colleagues, I would have been very concerned for my safety.
I am a frequent guest with myself and staff members, and it is always like being home with the Staff members. Although it is ten miles from my business location, I consider it well worth the trip and certainly located near some of the best restraunts in the area
The room was very comfortable. Nicely decorated and clean. The staff were very friendly. I would definitely consider staying at this Best Western on future business trips. Location is near restaurants and shopping locations.
Staff was nice but woken up by hammering at 730am by construction noise in hotel on weekend. We were out late night before, so didnt appreciate the noise . Also food from previous guest was left in the refrigerator. Advised staff and they apologized but didn't offer any compensation . Other hotels would have made it right, but I guess not this one.
The hotel was great and clean. everything that i asked for was given or staff came up with a solution. i would recommend this hotel to my friends and family. i also will be staying at Best Western hotel chains for now on
Latoya, was excellent making it easier for me and my team accommodating everything even when my card was not working properly. Suggested best place to eat and provided itinerary for places to go. And any suggestion met what the team wanted. We would like to say THANK YOU.
While the hotel is going through some renovations, not noisy at all, the front desk clerk was far better and super kind. I suggest if you are looking for a nice CLEAN place to stay and want to know that there is someone who will treat you like a KING or QUEEN this is the place.
The staff was extremely pleasant. Bed and room was really nice. Breakfast was good! This hotel appeared to be in the process of adding on but it did not affect our stay. To me it is a nice place! I stayed there 2 weekends in a row and would stay again.
I had an issue with no one cleaning my room. Called and was told housekeeping reported cleaning it. I assured the front desk that that was impossible. She apologized but offered no redress. I said that I don't even have clean towels and was told that I could pick some up myself. Called corporate customer service and they could not contact the hotel and said a file would be created to help the hotel "do better." I'm still trying figure out how that file helps me, the paying g customer.
Wonderful Stay. Eventhough they had to shut off the water due a water leak, staff handled it professional. Meagan called my room to notify me that they had a leak and they had to shut the water off. I asked her to call me when the water came back on no what time it came back on, because I had been at work all day. She did not call but the Manager Latoya followed up with the call. Great staff!! My room was clean and breakfast had many choices to choose from. I can see updates are coming soon. Looking forward to it.
This hotel has very good reviews for the most part so maybe I just had some rotten luck. I booked through Hotwire and was not able to choose a room type. Upon checkin, I was given an accessible room, which could be part of my problem. I would think management would want to keep these rooms available for those who really need them, but that's beside the point. The bathroom had black mold growing on the walls. I've attached a few pictures. Being an accessible room the bathroom was basically an open big room with a walkin shower stall. I'm not sure if the ventilation is poor in this room based on setup or what the cause of this could be. Regardless I woke up congested and with a sore throat. Also, two lightbulbs in the room flickered consistantly the whole time I was there. I mentioned this at check out so I hope this was addressed. It was graduation weekend in Raleigh so hotels were few and far between unless you could afford $250+ per night. On another trip to town I would look elsewhere.
The water at the property was broken. After checking in, I overheard another guest ask when the water would be on. The clerk didn't bother to tell me that the water wasn't working. The only answer she gave the other customer was that she had called for repair. I understand that repairs are necessary at times but it's unfair to continue to admit guests into rooms where there is no water. This should be left to the customer to decide if they want to stay before check in and I should have been given the option to stay elsewhere without incurring a charge for the room. This was especially frustrating since I was there for an interview with a global company. The stress of not knowing if I would be able to shower before my interview was uncalled for!
Quality room and service. Easy check-in, friendly staff. Room was clean, fresh scent. Bed was very comfortable, furniture was more than adequate. I would recommend a stay here for any traveler, I felt that I more than got my money's worth for the room.
Although very nice people, the hote! Is in need of a major update. Shower stall type unit is very stained, wallpaper in bathroom coming down, overall very dated. The sheets and towels were very clean but the overall experience was " almost " just ok.
Room was average size, we needed accessable room which had a nice walk in shower. Room a little dated but comfortable. Room and linnes were clean. I don't have more to say but this section requires more words.
Construction workers be aware that you can not turn around. You will have to back out. One way in, one way out. Make sure they put the right number of nights on your card or you will get locked out. Very heavy smoke smell.
As I said before, it is a pleasure to stay with them. Their staff is super kind, going the extra mile to make our stay comfortable. Every year, my husband and I traveled from Lima (Peru) to North Carolina (USA), to visit our family, and we always choose this hotel. We even have 'our' room, because we ask for the same room every time. The staff is always very friendly and ready to help.Rooms are comfortable, clean, and housekeeping is very good.I highly recommend it if you want quality for your money, and peace of mind for your stay.
Great facility with help positive atttitude and more importantly serious there to help. Very clean facility along with very nice breakfast. Room was very comfortable and well layout for comfortable. Everything in room was clean and room had a nice freshness not experienced at other facilities.
This was our first stay at this location. Check in was quick and the lady who welcomed us was very friendly. She made us feel like valued guests. Our room was spacious and well appointed. The mattress was a little firmer than what we like but we slept okay. We wish that hotels would give guests a choice of firmer and softer mattresses to choose from. Not everyone likes a hard mattress. The sink was slow to drain and there was some mildew on the shower ceiling, but the room was clean. Breakfast included scrambled eggs and sausage links as well as cheese sauce and biscuits and gravy. Make your own waffles had strawberry and spiced apple toppings available as well as syrup. Bagels, donuts, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereals, etc. were also included. We stayed 3 nights and these items were available each morning. Check out was quick and the clerk was friendly and wished us a safe trip. We will probably stay here again when we come to town to visit our family.
We stayed here while visiting family. The room was large with a king-size bed. The bed was comfortable, the staff was great. The maid made our room spotless every day. The breakfast lady kept the food filled & it was good. Nice way to start the day. Special shout-outs to Judy & Christina. Judy helped our friend by getting her a room for the night, was always ready with a smile & hello. Christina saved us cookies every night and was also always ready with a smile & hello. These two made our stay feel like we were staying with family. Thanks so much!
Latoya, Sandra, Christina have AMAZING customer service skills. They checked in/out customers in a timely manner and are available to assist customers with any needs they may have. We look forward to staying here every time we are in Raleigh. Thank you ladies :)
Check in was great and Ms. Judy and Ms. Brenda went above and beyond my expectations during our stay. Were familiar with the area and provided us with some restaurants and other places to go while we were here.
Great staff and very helpful. Would definitely stay again. Clean rooms and comfortable bed. Great place for the price. The front desk staff went out of her way to accommodate me and my colleague. Thank you so much for the great stay.
Stayed here because of the reviews, will come back because of the staff. Room was so nice and ULTRA clean. Couldn't hear any noise from "neighbors". Bed was comfortable, bedding was clean. TV and remote in working order, clock that plays various types of music, toiletries were nice. Could tell that some repairs had been made, but that isn't an issue for me. Huge shout out to Christina, who went out of her way to help me!! And the cleaning staff were nice as well. I had to leave for work and was unable to stay for breakfast but I did go in and it all looked delicious. Nice gym room as well. Loved my stay and will stay again!!! :D :D :D
The location was close to my business needs along with close to other dining places. The room was clean, the breakfast was good. Everything that I expect when staying overnight for business. The rates are somewhat lower what I would expect for the area.
The staff is very friendly and helpful, I appreciated one of the staff calling us and asking if we were happy with everything. The room was and smelled clean. We enjoyed our stay! Thank you, best wishes.
I'm writing this review from my hotel room. So far our stay here is very pleasant. The room is cozy and the bed is very comfortable. The place is spotless. Temperature is controlled with wall control. Very efficient. The bathroom is very small but sink is on the outside so it doesn't really matter. Water pressure in shower was great. People at front desk couldn't be more friendly or helpful. Check-in was a breeze. Breakfast waffles are yummy. Eggs might be from powder but the biscuits and sausage were yummy. My only complaint is there should be fresh coffee instead of from a machine. There is no pool but we did not stay here to swim. It's really close to the Coastal Credit music park which is why we chose this Best Western. Would stay here again.
Great experience and will definitely be coming back staff treat you like family they all know your name and if something is wrong it's fixed quick breakfast is fresh and fruit is fresh daily great place to visit
Best Western Edison in Garner NC is a very Comfortable clean hotel. The best we have stayed at in this area. Very affordable price, friendly and professional staff. We arrived late due to weather and traffic, staff went out of their way to help and make a very hectic day end on a pleasing note. Rooms are clean, beds comfortable and breakfast was always abundant. Will stay here on every trip to NC.
This hotel is off in the main road. It's a dark area. Limited parking spaces. The hotel was basic. The room was a little outdated but the bathroom was updated. Very spacious and showerhead was awesome
Overall this was a nice hotel for my business trip. The rooms were nice. The bed was more firm than I would have liked but overall very nice. The breakfast had a very nice variety with lots to choose from. I was not offered any type of upgrade with my platinum membership.
Staff was very pleasant and nice. The hotel was clean, rooms adequate and near many restaurants. Very close to down town only about a 5 to 7 minute drive. Do yourself a favor and stay at this hotel!!!
Typical Best Western. very pleasant, professional staff. everything went smooth. One comment though: not enough parking. Apparently they give out some of their parking to another company and clients do not have enough parking.
Very pleasant and professional staff. Made sure the check in and check out process went smoothly. Hotel was very nice and clean. Rooms were nice, roomy and clean. Great breakfast with a lot of choices.
People here couldn't be better. We had a need to add an extra night, We contacted the 800 number listed and found out the hotel was booked. Judy, attendant at the hotel, says give me a while and I will work it out. When we checked in the morning we got the extra night and the same room so we didn't have to move our things. Weekend rates were a bit higher then weekdays, but Judy got us the same price as we had been paying. Wonderful breakfast.
This was an excellent selection as we were passing thru this area. Hotel is conveniently located off I40 freeway. It is clean, comfortable, and has a nice breakfast. We stayed in room 224 and it was comfortable, air conditioning worked well and best part was, it was quiet. Front Desk staff was wonderful and overall we would recommend this location for our future needs.
We were not pleased with our stay at this hotel. There were a couple of Best Western Hotels in the area and I choose this one after reading the reviews. Poor choice on my part. It is an old, tired hotel in bad need of renovation. The room and fitness center were not up to the normal cleanliness standard that we have come to expect from BW hotels. The beds were rock hard. The breakfast was deplorable. The staff people working the breakfast area hovered and made it very uncomfortable. The only good thing about this hotel was the friendly, kind, and helpful desk clerks. Overall our experience was not the best.
Very comfortable king size bed. The staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were recently updated. Cleaning staff did a good job. Parking was plentiful. It was quiet in our room with no disturbances. Reported sewer gas smell at checkout.
Convenient location, staff was very helpful and the room was clean. Toilet seat was loose but staff took care of it right away. Staff offered excellent suggestion for dinner experience. Breakfast staff cleaned tables and kept bar stocked right until the end of serving.
I had "do not disturb" sign on door. House keeping saw this, went to front desk and had them call me in room about it. They woke me up after I was up until 3 a.m. night before on late arrival/business. They asked me if they were able to come in or not. Was I missing something here? Sign was out, the phone call did the opposite of "do not disturb". That was the only complaint regarding staff, very friendly otherwise, that's why I waited for this review since most problems may not be there fault . Upon checking in, I loaded my cart with luggage, went to room, card keys would not work. Had to call front desk to bring me new ones so I didnt leave my luggage unattended. Laundry facility out of order for 3 to 4 days of stay. Had to wait 10 minutes for full hot water in the morning for shower. Foul smell in my section of building, pest spray or ?. Also foul food cooking odors very strong in conjunction. Appeared I was in the employee rooms area, constant activity, kids, doors slamming and noise in that section plus employees coming in and out not counting normal maid service. Seemed like families living next to me, hopefully at least legal aliens. Card key failed again, couldn't get in building, had to walk form rear to front main entrance, not a huge deal but with all the rest going on it was frustrating to say the least. Construction in parking lot forced you to drive out through the one way having close calls with vehicles as well as large tree branches growing over in front of you, could easily hit and do major damage, 6" to 8" branches. Refrigerator in room would not work, finally wiggled plug in worn outlet and it started working, threw away food prior due to this after expecting a refrigerator. Vending machine faulty and the change would come right back, could not use/out of order. Coffee machine that allows many buttons/choices of different coffees, mochas, milk etc was faulty, would push button for "shot of milk" and would dispense full cup of mocha therefor overflowing hot coffee every where/big mess. Although rooms seemed clean, the mattress cover was so old that there were big holes at corners and very worn out . The fitted sheet was not fitted, it was a flat sheet that was to small and you ended up with your feet or arms on the mattress cover with balled up corners of bottom sheet, very annoying. Only good thing was staff was very friendly and it was clean for the most part!
Ms. Judy and staff was amazing during my stay at the Garner location. The breakfast was hot with options for all the picky eaters in my family. If you ever want to know true southern hospitality stay at the Best Western on Mechanical Blvd.
Stayed here twice. The rooms are clean, and the staff are attentive and professional. Ms. Ray prepares a tasty breakfast every morning, and she'll help you make waffles. Finally, room rates are quite reasonable. I'll stay here again.
This hotel is clean and has exceptional staff. Everyone was nice and accommodating. The check in process was exceptional as was the check out experience. The breakfast was exceptional according to my husband since he enjoys pork products. If turkey or beef products were added the stay for me would be even more exceptional.
The stay was great people were nice the only thing i think could be a little better is the food setup for breakfast ...the biscuits were hard as a rock and the eggs were like rubber other than that it was great thank u
I prefer BW chain as I know I will get a good room at a solid hotel. The good...check in and out super easy. Extremely kind, helpful and cheery staff! Clean rooms. The bad....small room for a BW Plus. Awkward drive around the hotel. This BW should probably not be a Plus as there are no suites, no pool, nothing that stands out. Fair price though. And again, great desk staff!
All I can say I have never had the experience out of the 500+ hotels My husband and I have stayed at. it is the best hotel I've ever been at best experience everything this is definitely a hidden gem in the rough .
Super Friendly Staff. The ladies at the front desk went out of their way to help repair my daughter's cheer bow before a High School State Cheer Competition. Only 5 minutes from downtown and lots of restaurants close by. Highly recommended!
I will only stay here now!! I have been traveling up for business and family for last 5 months. Was frustrated with hotels and found them by accident!!! I will only stay here and staff remembers me and son and best friend who migrate in and out when I am there. LOVE IT
I found this bargain , quiet Best Western Hotel in the Raleigh area; so if you are traveling along the East Coast & need a place to rest in N.C., stop here. Quiet area of town; comfortable rooms; generous full breakfast.
We stayed for a few nights while visiting family for the holiday! The staff at the front desk were great, very friendly and accommodating! The hotel was clean and well kept. Breakfast was included which had hot items as well as the regular items! Something for everyone. No complaints, but wish they had suites or bigger rooms for families!
This is the second time my husband and I stayed in this hotel. People here cannot be more kind and helpful. Always friendly and eager to help. The room was great, just as last year. Clean bathroom, nice cleaning staff, asking if we need more towels or toiletries; and breakfast is included and it was very good! Scramble eggs, sausage, pancakes, coffee, juice, bananas...you have there a good variety of food and it was warm and tasty. It's a good value for your money. As I said before, this hotel is close to everything: malls, stores, etc., etc. We will definitely stay here every time we travel to North Carolina.
This Best Western is a great economical place to stay. I attend conferences regularly in the Raleigh area and the location is ideal. There is also a discount for state employees. But the best part is the friendly staff. These ladies are top notch when taking care of customers.
The front desk people fantastic very helpful ready for our group to check-in - departed early the next morning they opened early so the team could eat breakfast and kept it open late when we came back after our game. Rooms were very nice plenty of parking for our vans.
For a quick overnight I was truly looking for a bargain but I also looked at the photos at Trip Advisor Place needs renovation I was given a room for the handicapped which was fine but it clearly had not been renovated in years especially the bathroom Do you get what you pay for?
I require very little when I travel. All I need is a place to park, sleep, and a hot shower. This location has no parking and no hot water. Thanks for the bed! Extras include a hot breakfast of mediocre scrambled eggs...every morning of my stay.
I'm a traveler with a disability, so have to travel with equipment and I'm always on the lookout for the best accessible features. We often have to move things around to make things work, but if every stay was like this one, we'd travel even more. The accessible rooms are on the ground floor and the beds have clearance underneath for those who use a hoyer lift. This hotel experience was comfortable and clean, which is always a plus, but the real standout feature on this trip was the exceptional customer service. LaToya and Christina even followed us to the rooms and helped us to make sure we were settled comfortably. They truly put the hospitality in the hospitality industry.
Our stay was nice. The staff was great. They were very helpful with every question we had. The young lady at the front desk went out of her way to be helpful. The Wifi was difficult to figure out and not secured. The bed could have been more comfortable.
We absolutely love this hotel we have never felt so at home. We work on the road so we basically live out of hotels from here to Los Angeles California. We have been in the Garner area for the past couple months and staying at the Best Western Plus Edison Inn we have nothing but positive to say about this hotel and honestly that says a lot me being a female I can be picky I can't find one negative thing to say from the environment the staff the owner all making us feel so at home it's actually going to be hard when we have to leave the Garner area to leave Shelby, Miss Judy, Miss Ray, Maggie, and the Assistant General Manager Latoya, the Owner Dilip and his brother ND and his family. And for everyone who gets to know him Wesley. I wish them all nothing but great success for their hotel they truly deserve it and no doubt they definitely have earned it. Now about our rooms the beds are absolutely comfortable the rooms are plenty spacious the breakfast my husband Every Morning has a gravy biscuit and he's a picky eater so it says a lot that's telling you the breakfast is good. More restaurants than you will even be able to eat at & shopping, again I said we've been here couple months and I have not been able to cover all the stores everything you need is so convenient here even within walking distance and it's such a good comfortable area I could go on and on. All I can say is if you're ever in the Garner area this is definitely the place you need to stay.
Nice visit near where I needed to be for a 7:30 a.m. appointment. First room had water on the bathroom floor (a lot of it!) but I was promptly given another room which more than met my expectations and needs. I found it a little difficult to figure out how to access the Wifi but desk clerk helped me get on line.
Good accommodations near Raleigh with very friendly staff. Rooms show a little age but very clean with microwave, mini-fridge, and in-room safe (although safe appears to require a key). Air conditioning worked very well and needed on a hot day. Property located in an area not pedestrian-friendly (no sidewalks or crosswalks) but couple restaurants within easy walking-distance without crossing streets. Breakfast included nice variety of hot and continental items including make-yourself waffles. Free Wi-Fi had some spotty connections but generally worked well. Sink located in the entryway with modern faucet but no apparent way to plug/stop the drain. Toilet and bath/shower located in small but adequate area behind door opposite sink. Only issue was clothing left behind in dresser drawer by previous guest but staff remedied the issue in well less than 5 minutes after call to front desk. Would stay again if in the area
Good overall, old hotel that has been retrofitted with new décor. Bathroom left room for improvement. Small. Like I said its an holder facility that's been retrofitted. How much more do I have to type to hit 200 Characters?
We would stay here again if we head into Raleigh. Decent hotel room and a friendly staff. We had a mishap at check in when the AC in the room wasn't working, however it was taken care of quickly. The staff met us at the room and gave us a new key for another room. If someone is looking for a decent priced quality hotel check this place out.
Good Price and very good hotel. Was clean inside and out. Staff was kind and friendly. Would recommend to others if staying out town. Breakfast was good and warm.. Newspaper was plus as I had it delivered to my room.
Nice and friendly staff. Very clean and great price. Would stay again when if I ever returned to the area. The breakfast was pretty good for whay it is. The fitness center is small but decent for what it is. I am still giving a good score.
Wonderful hotel! This hotel was completely packed both nights of my stay, but the staff never seemed overwhelmed; they went out of there way to be courteous and prompt. Breakfast was good and plentiful. The room was great! Very clean and comfortable. I recently had a terrible stay at a Quality Inn hotel so I was glad that this hotel turned out to be the exact opposite. Other patrons I met said that they always have a good experience at this hotel.
Very professional staff. Exceptional customer service at all times. Very responsive to dietary needs. The entire team enjoyed their interactions with the staff. Very good value for the money. Great location if you are working in downtown Raleigh NC
I enjoyed my stay at Best Western very much. The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff was excellent--always friendly and prompt in responding to requests. It's located close to restaurants and stores. The only downside is that it does not have a pool. Other than that it was very pleasant and I would recommend this BW.
Staffed by the finest of the finest this is my favorite stay location when I visit Raleigh for business. A lot of road construction in the I-40 area but in more than 15 trips in the last year I have had no problems getting to it, and there a bunch of fine dining places within ten minutes drive from the hotel. Safe lodging,l clean and plenty of adequate well lighted parking.
I stay there for business a couple times a year and it's always pleasant. The breakfast is average but I don't stay for the breakfast. The rooms are clean and the A/C is cold (which is important to me). The rates are reasonable and the staff is always friendly.
Very relaxing and enjoyable. The breakfast was very good and the coffee is exceptional. We always like to get Best Western when on a road trip- guaranteed a great time each time. We have always been able to locate a BW within our travel path.
My stay was outstanding and i enjoyed it very much. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and delicious. i really enjoyed it. The hotel was very clean and the location was perfect.
Always a pleasure to stay at BW Edision Inn, Garner, NC the staff always smiling and welcoming. Can count on clean rooms and hot coffee in the mornings. Breakfast offerings are good if you like biscuits, sausage and gravy or waffles. Other selections for fresh fruit, yogurt, sweet muffins, breads or hot/cold cereals were plentiful. staff kept area clean and well stocked. Nice job.
The Hotel and Staff are excellent. Nice rooms, great breakfast. Staff is very pleasant nd helpful. The room was large & well cleaned daily. Only issue was the Wi-Fi. I couldn't connect with my cell phone. laptop connected OK.
The service from Shelby was wonderful. Painless check in. The problem was the nasty bath tub. It was brown and stained and look very undesirable. If it wasn't for working all day outside in the heat I would of passed up the shower. The lady that checked me out wasn't wearing uniform and had no clue how to use the computer. Thank god another employee come in to assist
Front desk is always helpful, friendly, and professional. Large, clean rooms, quiet location, and recent upgrades to a Best Western Plus make this an excellent stay while in Raleigh. Breakfast is always a pleasure and the staff does their very best to keep this hotel clean and restful.
Overall good stay at the hotel. Room was clean and nice. Outside needs updating and doesn't reflect the inside of the hotel and the rooms. Nice and helpful front desk staff. Good value for the money and good location. Would recommend this hotel to anyone staying close to Raleigh.
BW+Edison Inn was a great fit for our purpose of being in town. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was quiet and a good location. There was a variety of restaurants and stores around with easy access. We would stay again in the future.
The bath/toilet room was tight and a little difficult to get into and out of. The only counter space was taken up by a stylish but huge above counter sink. This is problematic if you are traveling with more than one person trying to get ready in this space. We had to get up early so everyone could have their turn instead of two people being able to use this area at one time. Also things fell behind this big sink and we spent a good bit of time trying to figure out how to retrieve them. It's great if you travel alone, just don't set anything on the sink that could fall behind it.
The service was very good! The cleanliness was very good! I was TOTALLY disappointed in the structure of the room, the sink was not in the bathroom, so you had to come out the bathroom to wash your hands and do personal hygyiene in front of my visitors that had stopped by.
We stayed on a Saturday night after a concert at Coastal Credit Union Ampitheater. Check in was fast and easy. Lobby and elevator area were SPOTLESS! The entire hotel smelled wonderful. Room, although not an accessible one, accommodated my daughters wheelchair. Room was very clean, beds were fine. Breakfast was really good and the dining area was clean and spacious. We enjoyed this hotel and would definitely stay here again. The only thing that was not quite perfect were the pillows. They were small and I love a big pillow.
We spent four days at this hotel in room 120. It was a great decision. We were attending a large conference at the Raleigh Convention Center and this was about 5 easy minutes away. So instead of paying a lot for a downtown hotel, we stayed here and saved a lot of money. The staff were very professional and friendly. The only criticisms I have are that the sink is on the counter with very little counter space on each side. Our check out was delayed a bit because no one was near the desk. There was no bell to ring. I went into the breakfast room and found the reception person who promptly came back to the desk and checked us out. A picture had been taken from the wall in our room and not replaced. We told the reception staff about it as we did not want to be accused later of steaking a piece of art. The breakfast was nicely displayed. The biscuits were very fluffy and warm. I loved having a coffee machine where it was possible to make fresh coffee, decaf, and café mocha plus hot water any time of the day. It would be a bit frustrating in the morning if a lot of people came down to breakfast at once as it takes a minute or two to brew the cup. Would definitely go back. There are eating places nearby also.
We stayed from May 3rd till 7th in room 202. The good: most of the staff is friendly and try to help you in all the way they can. In the first room the refrigerator was full of ice, so we were given an other room. Because my spouse had a stroke last year, she is not very stable in a bathtub. The manager arranged an anti slip mat. Unfortunately in this room the door of the refrigerator could not be closed completely. The mattress was not good. Every morning we had back pain. There is every morning a warm breakfast. Our suggestion would be to change the warm items so those who stay several nights do not have to eat everyday the same selection. We liked the waffles. This a very quiet hotel to sleep.
Love this place. The people totally care and do anything to help. We felt right at home and did not want to leave. The lobby smells very clean right when you walk in so you know it is good. It does not stink or smell of cleaner like at some places. A lot of people think if it smells like cleaner then it is clean, but it isn't. Places should not smell like cleaner.
Very nice place. Very clean. Breakfast was more and better then I expected. Great stay. Only problem was connecting to the internet which wasn't a big deal. All the staff was very friendly. I would defiantly stay here again.
Decent, clean room. Good breakfast. We needed an extra night as we had to arrive early for a tournament. The Hotel accommodated out request for a very late check in, the room was very clean and facilities in very good order. I have been a customer of Best Western for years and will continue to be.
It was a nice hotel to stay friendly staff, but when someone is checking out (morning staff) the staff need to be in place so guest does not have to look for or yell out for them. The room was nice and very comfortable. NO complaints just that one thing about the front desk staff.
The woman who greeted us at the front desk was very nice and the hotel was the cleanest hotel we've ever been to. It was nice and quiet and located close to the city. The hotel was nice and quiet and a good breakfast :)
Very warm and welcoming lobby. They had a room, right where I needed it. Job well done. Only thing, when I got to the room, the door wouldn't open. Went back up front - lady told me she heard the door "click", well, mine didn't. She had to redo the card - and everything was good from there.
Great facility & staff. Location convenient to places I had to get to during my stay. Housekeeping was timely and well done. Front destroy clerk on afternoon shift went out of her way to confirm my BW Rewards membership and credit for my current stay. We return to this property often.
I only stayed for one night but the queen room was clean, the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was so tasty, express check out was convenient and the business center helped me while I was there.
We went for a mini getaway and really enjoyed the location! The staff were gracious to my children. They have books in the lobby for all ages. They served cookies after 4pm, which was a big hit with the kiddos!
We attended the Vegas Casino Night at the Eagle Ridge Country Club and instead of driving all the way back home we decided to stay at the Best Western Plus in Garner and we could not have been more pleased, Friendly staff, clean good looking room, yummy breakfast, quick check in and out.
My husband and I were gladly surprised by this nicely located hotel. Perfect to get everywhere in the area, stores, malls, restaurants. We booked a king size bedroom: it was very spacious, fast internet, a very convenient mini-fridge, microwave oven, hair dryer and coffee maker. Coffee! I cannot live without it :) My husband liked the recliner with a tall lamp for reading or watching his tv shows. I liked the large desk where I could use my laptop and put all my stuff. Also there was a nice closet with a safe box to keep your valuables, an iron and a board that is very handy. My only objection would be that the sink is outside the bathroom...but besides that, everything was very clean and neat. The stuff is super friendly and helpful, all the time. We definitely will stay there again in our next trip!
For last 20 years I have visited Raleigh for business travel an stayed primarily at MARRIOTT family hotels Then I semi-retired and the cost of hotels came out of my pocket so a safe clean quiet (no kids running up and down halls setting off alarm or acting like a bunch of wild monkeys) hotel also had to be under $70.00 a night and have a good breakfast and in a secure area and most important no employees smoking inside the reception area and plenty of parking and in my case handicapped access .The Garner Best Western meets all of the requirements of my version of a Perfect Hotel staffed by Professional people I am a "regular" now at this hotel and am always pleased to be recognized by my name and status on arrival It is an easy drive from the Fairgrounds even during rush hour I recommend this location with complete confidence But make your reservations well before special events because now my Secret Hotel is out
Awesome people at the front desk!!! She was very helpful and polite! Would most likely stay again if we're in the area. The hotel itself could use few other vending machines but other than that it's nice.
I've stayed here a few different times and I'm always pleased with the hotel and staff. they go out of their way to make sure that you are happy. there are a few good restaurants that you can walk to.
adequate hotel, nothing special but staff were friendly and checked w/you every night to see if everything was okay. Nice big bathroom but disappointed there was no pool. They did have free laundry but you bring your own detergent. Only 1 washer/dryer so had to wait on other guests.
From the moment I checked in late in the evening I was greeted warmly by Ivana who made me feel welcome. She remembered me by my name and called me to make sure the room met my needs. The room was charming and very clean. In the morning Judy made sure I felt comfortable eating breakfast alone and she provided a very satisfying breakfast. She was very warm and friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Raleigh. Thank you Ivana and Judy, you are the best!
Just checked in to the Best Western in Garner. What great customer service. Ivana went above and being in helping us get a room at a reasonable rate. We have stayed at many hotels and no one compares to Ivana. What a wonderful lady. Best Western is lucky to have such a dedicated and caring employee.
We stayed for two nights while attending a wedding in Raleigh which is about 15 minutes drive. Room was very clean and quiet. Staff was friendly and courteous. And cost was very good compared to Raleigh equivalents.
Although our stay was short and no time for breakfast or need for other amenities our stay was comfortable as well as pleasant. Unfortunately it's location is not on the main thoroughfare and you may need a GPS or a better Navigator than mine to to locate it.
I've already reviewed this location. However, I wanted to update it. We have stayed here several times in the recent few months. One of our stays, I left my MK purse in the closet and traveled all the way home, two and a half hours. I received a phone call about it after I had already returned home. I was unable to go back there until the next day. When I returned, my purse was in the exact condition in which I left it. Nothing inside was touched what so ever! I am so thankful and happy that the Best Western has such honest and friendly staff. Again, we had an extremely clean room, friendly and honest staff, great Wi-Fi and a delicious free breakfast. This has become our go-to place on each trip to Raleigh. Thank you Best Western! I left a note with the front desk saying thank you as well. I hope that you shared my sentiment with the staff who cleaned my room and turned in my bag. There are not many honest people in the world anymore and I sincerely appreciate it!
Excellent location between gas stations (key during AL pipeline issue) and access to Raleigh/Durham without much commute traffic. Primary trip location was south NC and was key to be south of the capital. Excellent Carolina BBQ restaurant (highly recommended by locals) nearby to hotel. Very quiet hotel although quite busy with multiple buses in parking lot.
My husband and I have stayed twice at this hotel over the past 2 months. Very nice, clean rooms, recently remodeled, very friendly staff, great continental breakfast. Thank you for a great experience! If in the area again we will definitely stay here!
It's adequate, clean, friendly and reasonably priced, but just average, A light bulb was out, sink faucet loose, shower fixture loose. See photo of closet. The frame doesn't go to the floor and there is no top part. The closet seems like an afterthought or retrofit, albeit a bad retrofit. The service is very friendly. The breakfast is adequate but not amazing. Oddly there is only one relatively small trash can in the breakfast room. Liked the late afternoon baked cookies. Very quiet except one morning when apparently adjacent truck facility got going. But only lasted couple of bangs and then only one morning.
Nice room, and the staff was very nice and helpful. Surrounding area seems a little rough and needs a better entrance. Breakfast bar never refilled with items. Over all experience was not bad. The area had a good selection of restaurants and shopping.
Friendly, courteous service, clean room and hotel. I stayed for three nights for a business trip, and I could not have been more pleased. The AC was kind of loud, but it didn't disturb my sleep. The wake up call was 8 minutes early, so plan accordingly.
I began staying at this hotel in 2015 and have stayed over 30 nights. I've never had a bad experience at this hotel. All of the staff are friendly and very helpful. They actually make you feel like they are glad to have you at the hotel. I would highly recommend it to others.
Good staff. Clean rooms. The elevator is finished and working as of a few weeks ago. Very quite and fast for only two floors. They also just finished remolding the lobby and eating area. They have a simple breakfast of scrambled eggs, sausage and biscuits or waffles, fruit, various sweet buns, yogurt and cereals. The place is quit I am seldom bothered by noise outside the room. I have even stayed in the room beside the ice maker and only heard it one time when I was standing beside the door. Many technicians stay at the hotel and like it. The hotel does not have a pool but that may be why the price is good.
Stayed here 2 nights during vacation in NC. The GM was such a lovely and helpful lady. Knowledgeable of the area, activities, and family friendly activities. The place is being renovated but it's so QUIET!!! And still looks great! Staff was just as nice. Check in was quick... Which was another plus with restless kids. Rooms were clean and comfy. Will be back next trip.
Very nice remodeled hotel with friendly staff. The housekeeping staff did an excellent job cleaning the room. The hot breakfast was like other hotels' breakfast. The hotel was located close to many shopping areas. I would stay there again.
We have stayed in many Best Western hotels both in the U.S. and abroad. Some are very good and some are just adequate, but this one near the state capital of North Carolina was excellent. The staff was congenial, efficient and helpful. New furniture in the lobby and dining room had just been acquired; the breakfast was a definitely a notch above the others on our motor trip; plumbing fixtures were new in our room, and it was spacious and clean. The newspaper was delivered to our door. Many details were attended to by a staff that obviously takes pride in their work.
Cleanliness and Wonderful Personnel are two of the most important factors when staying at a hotel. My opinion is that this hotel, Best Western Plus has both and also has a nice choice of breakfast items. What more could you want. This was a very pleasant stay. Thank You Best Western Plus. I tell it like it is! The entire state of North Carolina is a Great place to visit.
Pleasant stay with very helpful staff. Hotel in the final stages of upgrades. Location convenient to downtown Raleigh and other communities. Convenient to shopping and restaurants. Coffee available 24 hours a day was great feature. Web site needs to be updated to indicate the hotel has an elevator.
The hotel and rooms were very clean and neat even with the construction going on. The staff was very friendly. My only complaint was being asked repeatedly, while outside, by a seemingly homeless man, if he could come to my room. The employees seemed to know him well and I was told "not to worry about him".
Undergoing some renovations, but doing it so quietly that I was amazed! The rooms are comfortable and very clean, and again, so quiet! We enjoyed breakfast each day, with a nice variety of items to choose from....sausage, biscuits and gravy, eggs, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, pastries, waffles, and fruits. The staff is always courteous and willing to help. Seriously, I can't think of a whole lot of things that could be improved here. You can't go wrong with this hotel.
The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was free with a full choice of different foods hot and cold. Unfortunately the handicapped room with the roll-in shower spread water all over the bathroom, and water also seemed to leak out around the edge walls of the shower onto the carpet in the room. The hotel staff recognized this and called a plumber who concluded he'd have to knock the walls out to fix it. We were offered a different room but decided to stay for the one day remaining on our stay. Because of our inconvenience, we were given one night free.
About 10 minutes outside Raleigh, this property is quiet and pleasant. It's not the Four Seasons, but it met all my needs- clean and quiet room, non-smoking, wifi, and breakfast. It doesn't look like the prettiest part of town, but I had no issues.
We were attending a wedding in the area and really enjoyed the convenience to most north/south or east/west major highways in the Raleigh/Durham area. We had a king bed and the room was always clean. The best part of of three night stay was the front desk staff. Most accommodating, helpful, and great sense of humor. Their recommendations, friendliness, and attitude made for a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. The building was far enough from the roadway so as not to hear traffic noises.
Great value! The hotel was VERY clean both inside the room and out. Even the stairwell was clean and maintained. The decor and carpet was modern and clean. The room was quiet (2nd floor near the stairwell). The room included a microwave and mini fridge. The lady at the front desk who checked us in was very friendly. I did not eat the complimentary breakfast, so I am unable to comment. There is also free wifi offered, but I did not use it, so again, I am unable to comment on quality. I would definitely stay here again!
We enjoyed our stay at this BW. Really enjoyed staying at this hotel. Great value for the price. The staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a good location with easy access to down town. There were restaurants within walking distance. But mostly, the staff had pride in their hotel and took care of their guests.
great hotel, excellent service and a nice breakfast. Only ding is the coffee wasn't very good. Stayed here while visiting my son at NC State. The overall experience was fantastic for what I paid. The staff is obviously well trained and focused on superior customer service. Although the hotel is older with no elevator, they make up for it in service.
I did not read reviews ahead of time or I might have made reservations elsewhere. We stayed here because our daughter's rowing team was competing in the area. Upon arrival, the staff told us that there was no indication of a need for a roll away bed even though I showed her my email. If they could find one, they would get it for us. Set a bad tone as we stood in the lobby for 30 minutes waiting. Apparently, the hotel is under construction. I would think a hotel would send an email communicating that there would be no working elevator during our stay...luckily we only had to haul our luggage up the stairwell to the 2nd floor...this would definitely have been a problem for senior citizens or handicapped guests. There were screws from the construction laying on the hallway carpet which could have been an issue for anyone with barefeet. The room itself was clean and comfortable and the breakfast area was clean and organized. When I tried to find the blowdryer, it was missing from the wall and I had to wait for the staff to bring up another one (she assumed it had been stolen by a previous guest).
I needed to get away and I'm glad I stopped by here. The staff were friendly, my room was nice clean and I enjoyed the breakfast. The front desk staff was more then ready to help me with all my questions. Most importantly, I felt calm about having a clean room under my close inspection. Little things makes the difference, like being to easily scan your room key ad not swipe. Loved it!!!
Every staff member greeted and interacted. Very cozy bed and convenient to downtown Raleigh. Very affordable. I would suggest giving direction for using the heat/air unit. There is a window unit and a wall thermostat and could not seem to get either to work correctly. When I called the front desk they gave reset instructions and direction on use.
The reviews made this place seem better than it really is. Smaller than I expected, but that is okay. I was happy to pay the price that I did. The room was good, better than the lobby foreshadowed- it had soft sheets, was very clean, had all the amenities I expected. Free breakfast was okay. The food was good, there just wasn't many choices. Checking in and out was very easy and the staff were very nice. We did hear our neighbors loud and clear at one point, but it was Valentine's Day so that one can slide. I would stay here again and recommend it to friends.
We usually stay at Wingate right across the street while visiting family, but this was $20 less and all we needed was a bed and bath. Quite satisfactory. Glad to see thermostats on the wall to control temperature. We dont need an elevator to second floor but it appears their new one will be operational very soon.
My son booked the stay for us to come to his wedding we were all from Philadelphia, Virginia and even South Carolina. Everyone had nothing but good things to say about our stay here the rooms were superb and very clean. Comfortable beds and a great breakfast. The staff is well was eczema from start to finish they accommodated as well. This will be our staying place each time we visit our son and daughter in Garner! Keep up the good work!
My family stayed here back when Scotty McCreary won American Idol because it is about halfway from my daughter's home in Elon, NC to my sister's home in Sneads Ferry, NC. We were traveling there again to visit her because she could not drive after major surgery to see us. We had enjoyed the first stay so well, we never considered staying anywhere else on our way to her hometown. Loved the pillows; loved the hot breakfast!
The location is ideal in the area, and easy to get to and out. Front desk staff was very nice and helpful. Rooms are very clean. Pillows are annoyingly square because of excessive tucking of the pillowcases, but they will un-square a bit if you tap them out a bit. I really liked the sink is separated from the bathroom, as it allows one person to get ready while the other is just starting. Breakfast was hot and well maintained. Very good stay overall. Note to management: I have a feeling there is a disgruntled employee there. Portly, light-complexioned short older man doesn't seem to get along well with his staff. They felt they were racially discriminated by him (I overheard some dirty laundry airing). One night driving in through the one-way driving loop, we almost got stuck driving in, because this same balding guy was driving out the wrong way (right by the elevator construction), forcing us to reverse to let him drive out. It was our right of way, and a shame he would make us do that. I don't know what role as employee he has, but maybe he should rethink is career options.
The staff was nice, rooms were clean, and the breakfast was good. The hotel is a bit off the beaten path. It is a 2 story property, and they didn't yet have an elevator as of 12/2015, but it appeared that they were in the process of constructing one during my stay. The desk lady was so nice though, she even offered to carry my bags up the stairs for me. The rates were competitive, well < $100 / night when I booked. I would stay again.
This BW is very clean. The staff are just fine. The place is a bit outside the city, but this is to be expected given the very good price. My only complaint is that the coffee is terrible - I don't mean "so-so" - but terrible. That is a drag in a suburban hotel where you can't run out easily and get a cup elsewhere. The breakfast in general was very un-appetizing. No butter for your toast - just margarine. If this doesn't matter to you, then by all means stay here. There is nothing else wrong with this hotel.
Everything at BW Edison Inn is clean, shiny, new, and fresh. The staff was helpful and friendly. Our room was spotless, and the bed comfortable, the bathoom very nice, linens clean and neat. We left too early to enjoy and evaluate the breakfast. I will have to deduct a star for the lack of an elevator, (which the staff member stated will be installed soon). We are able to climb the stairs with our luggage, but this might be a problem for some travelers, and a deal breaker for the elderly, infirm or those with a lot of luggage. If you are willing and able to negotiate the stairs with your luggage, then add a star and enjoy your stay.
Nice place, good rate and location. Grounds look good, Friendly personality at the front desk> Breakfast was good. Room service left previous guests dirty wash cloth on the shower curtain rod - GROSS - need training and supervision -no shampoo in room either
nothing but good to say about this hotel, staff, and breakfast items. was in town for a business trip, the traffic was really bad, however the hotel is close to all things you would need. the only item I would bring is a pillow, the pillows provided were just not that great, too small in size.
I always stay at this hotel when visiting my daughter at Duke University because the service and quality of the hotel are worth the 25 minute drive to the campus. We love the friendly staff, that always seems to remember us when we check in, and the quality of the rooms.
My granddaughters wedding. Hotel staff great. Room great. Breakfast could have had a little more variety but overall food was excellent. Hotel is clean and staff very helpful. Recommend this hotel highly.
While the staff was helpful and friendly, and the room was clean, the overall product is well below par for the price and brand. A rather old room, across from several noisy vending and ice machines. Old style bed, small pillows and folded-in blanket rather than covered duvet. Old bathroom with a noisy fan switched on together with the cold dim light of an older generation CFL, and no product except for the motel-6 sized mini soap bars and a single mini bottle of shampoo. It would've been decent value at half the price and a cheaper flag, but did not live up to my expectations of the BW Plus brand.
Just checked in for a two night stay. Immediately discovered AC didn't function, mentioned to the front desk. Gal at desk said no worries, just takes a couple of minutes, I can fix it for you if it's not working when you get back. Just got back, it's not working, she's gone, and the front desk says there's nothing they can do. Nice. Will not come back again.
If you're planning to visit Raleigh and the surrounding areas, this hotel is a perfect place to stay. It's about 15 minutes from everything. The rooms are adequate, the beds aren't the best and they have square pillows(WHY!?) but if you only plan to sleep here, it's more than enough. The free breakfast was a nice touch, the internet worked without a glitch and it was nice having on-demand television should we need it.
Any lobby that has a take-one / leave-one library is my kind of lobby. Which was fortunate, because when I arrived after a long, rainy drive it was 25 minutes before I could be checked in. I was grateful for that little library. The late check-in was through no fault of Lauren, the young woman behind the counter. This poor harrassed girl had a phone in each ear, one from a complaing customer trying to manipulate a lower rate and one from the manager telling Lauren what to do. I gathered from the conversation that Lauren was new to the job, so I was impressed at how she kept her cool, remaining professional and courteous. When she finally had a chance to work with me she apologized for the delay and had me on my way within 4 minutes. My stay was pleasant, as always. Thanks, Lauren - well-done!
Courteous, smart and dedicated staff. Helped with taxi services to conference in Raleigh, NC. Excellent breakfast, fast internet, quiet, clean, with many room amenities all in working order. Near hourly bus route in the morning and close to WalMart. 10 minutes to the central business district of Raleigh by car.
I attended a group event and stayed at the Best Western - it was OK... there were some decent amenities, (microwave, fridge, flat-screen) and the bathroom was updated, but the carpet was a little worn and stained, and there were no USB ports to charge my phone (my bad - I forgot my wall charger.) I had TV problems (the manager finally had to fix it.) The breakfast was OK, the staff was nice, and overall, it's a decent sleep for a night or two....
We were nicely greeted by the front desk attendant who was very capable and welcoming. She asked about our room preference since there is no elevator in this hotel. She helped us with directions to restaurants, and places of interest in Raleigh. The room was nicely appointed and clean. Good TV with lots of channels, decent towels, good shower. The proximity to Raleigh is a big plus. It is only about 10 minutes to downtown and very easy to get there....probably allow more time at Rush hour. Only the breakfast was a little marginal, but this was the case at every hotel we stayed at during our 10 days on the road. All the plastic wear, paper cups and plates are bad enough, but the food quality goes down every time we head out on a trip in the US. I know we aren't staying in luxury accommodations, but the egg disks and sausage patties, and generic cereals and breads are not inspiring, and certainly no longer a plus when making a lodging choice. Everyone has the same icky food, so it's no bonus. Overall the hotel was fine and met all our needs.
I have stayed there several weeks and will go back. The discounted prices are great. I like their free scramble egg breakfast. The place is quiet. I have not noticed hearing room doors, ice machine or outside noise when in the room. The only noise is the exhaust fan in the bathroom which is common to the whole floor is always on. Closing the bathroom door helps. The AC unit is right beside the work desk and blows on you when on. The AC unit is pretty quite and not annoying when asleep. The place seems to attract a lot of men that work on outside jobs and need a quit place to get a good nights sleep. The staff is very friendly and helpful if you have a question. The place is kept clean.
