The Bridge House, BW Signature Collection

This is the second time we have stayed here. The room was very good, and the staff are friendly. We stay here to fly from Bournemouth which is 10 minutes away. The setting outside is lovely, nice veranda overlooking the river stour. We will be definitely staying here again.

This is a lovely little hotel in Ferndown. Super friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble. Rooms are clean, and well-equipped. The towels were the fluffiest and softest I have ever had. Breakfast was standard - but tasty and hot. We had Cosy Double room which suited our needs - the road is a little noisy but traffic wasn't too bad over night. Lovely setting on the river.

Only stayed one night which we do when flying from Bournemouth. Highly recommend as friendly, clean and lovely meal in their restaurant. Nice view and large car park, room was nice size and no complaints what so ever. Will always use this hotel.

Restaurant was excellent, great food, beautifully cooked, excellent service. Paid extra for a riverside view and allegedly a better room and wasn't particularly impressed if I'm honest….not sure I'll bother next time. Conveniently placed for Poole, will stay again.

My title, "A wonderful hotel staffed by the nicest people." really does sum up the Bridge House perfectly. From the minute you are greeted by the reception staff you feel welcome and at home. The Bridge House was, in fact home (during the week) for me for almost 2 months. I ate, drank and slept there and really looked forward to every visit. The rooms are spacious and fresh. During the time I was staying, they were transitioning to individual air-conditioning units in the rooms which will be fabulous on those hot sticky nights in the summer. I had a rear facing room that looked out over the River Stour. A lovely view to wake up to in the morning. The restaurant and bar staff are dedicated, fun and focussed on ensuring customers are given the best possible service. I dined at the hotel every evening and had breakfast every morning and I have to say, the food is of exceptionally high standard. I particularly enjoyed the carvery. I will certainly return to the Bridge House if my work brings me in this direction again. In the meantime, I uge anyone reqding this review to visit the Bridge House. it's a lovely hotel and a perfect base for the surrounding area.

Currently undergoing some modification on there power supply so no heating in the room. Although, there was a mobile, manually operated, radiator in the room. The fire alarm was set off by one of my workmates from steam from the shower because the shower room door was left open trying to keep warm by leaving the bathroom door open whilst taking a shower. My shower tube became detached when i tried to adjust the height. When asking for the breakfast in the morning and an explanation of the choice between the options, it resulted in a Basil Fawlty type interaction. We are not frequent travelers so our ignorance was probably part to blame but the comedy value was priceless. Overall, the comedy value made up for the fact that they are having work done and service was not as usual. But, some people would be a lot harsher than i have. We did leave with a memory and a smile though but probably for the wrong reasons.

Another home from home hotel and certainly the place of choice for me when in the area. This hotel can be whatever you want it to be, they make you really welcome, bend over backwards to satisfy your needs, serve good food and always with a smile….. Clarissa and Megan really do make the place all the more relaxing and are a credit to the hotel

Stayed here with our friends for a weekend break in Dorset. This hotel ticked all our boxes. Great location, lovely clean room, good evening menu and great breakfast! Staff were helpful and friendly. We had a fabulous time and we will be back!

We were holding a party in the function room we use for car club meetings and kindly upgraded our bedroom. Very nice. Clean and warm with plenty of room Often use the venue, good value and friendly. Carvery good price. Thank you all for your efforts

Thank you so much for a wonderful birthday lunch. Especially thanks to Megan and Mick who really went beyond the normal service to make our celebration so special. Litterally had the most amazing stay here! The staff were so helpful and friendly, the room was very clean, the view was beautiful, and the food was to die for!! Thanks to everyone for making our stay special and enjoyable. We hope to see you all again soon!

I booked the Bridge House because of its locality and facilities. I hosted a four day craft weekend with eighteen crafters, all women, all with loads of stuff - could be a recipe for disaster! But it wasn't, it was the best, everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves, one lady saying it was the best in seventeen years … The staff were amazing, always ready to help, food great, the rooms were very comfortable and the function room looked over the river. There was only one complaint, apparently some thought the food portions were too big!

Love this hotel. Hope to stay a lot more this year. So clean and such nice staff. I am most comfortable in clean hotels and that is my priority. This is the cleanest hotel I have stayed in in locally and its a tonic when you stay.

We had a quality stay at this hotel clean , friendly , comfortable, great facilities, amazing breakfast, absolutely brilliant value for money Will definitely return when up that way again 5 star quality of breakfast was amazing.

Room 221 on the first floor at the front was quite noisy compared to the ground floor one I stayed in the previous week - road traffic, a freezer or similar kept switching on nearby and noisy neighbours coughing! But, was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was delicious.

Stay here regularly with place of work being near by. The menu has not changed in years and could do with a change for the regular stayers. On this occasion I chose the gammon and egg. The gammon is thickly cut cold pieces of ham, which I knew before ordering, the disappointing bit was the two rock hard fried eggs on top of my ham. You would think this would have been perfected with the amount of time this has been on the menu. I will continue to use the hotel and restaurant due to the location and Best Western points. But please do something with your menu!

Nice looking hotel with plenty of outside space to enjoy. Very good attentive staff. Rooms were comfortable clean and serviced if you wanted with everything we needed . Fair choice of food on the evening menu which was well cooked and tasty. Bar was well stocked Dr beers & lagers well kept. Decent base for sightseeing of coast or inland.

Nice room, the breakfast, evening meals and the coffee and cake were all very good and I loved sitting on the balcony watching the river, had a great time over 5 nights and thought the prices were reasonable

Had two carvery meals and a burger meal. Very tasty. Also ordered crumble and sticky toffee puddings. Staff were pleasant, manageress seemed grumpy. Dog friendly. Decor and cleanliness was good. Would recommend.

Convenient location for visiting Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole and Wimborne. It is situated next to a main road that is busy all day. It is close to Bournemouth Airport. Large car park at rear and there is a bus stop to Poole and Ringwood close by.

24 of us was booked in for a birthday party. All meals were pre booked. So we sat down for 1800hrs. Some had starters which we knew was happening. That took about half n hour. By the time we actually got our main course it was gone 2000hrs. This place took on to many party's that night and spoilt it for us will not be back.

This in an ideal spot if you're flying out of Bournemouth to stay overnight. We were there because Best Western had a deal 3 nights for the price of 2 including breakfast and we were touring around the area. We had a ground floor accessible room with walk in shower which looked out towards the river. We were there over a Friday and Saturday and there was no noise. The room was a really good size as was the shower room, unfortunately the scaffolding was still up outside the window but that didn't bother us too much. The room would have benefitted by either a chest of drawers or shelving and the same in the bathroom. The beds were very comfortable and it was quiet at night. The food was very good value. We had dinner there each evening on our 3 night stay. Breakfast was self service, no fish option unfortunately nor cold meat/cheese for continental visitors, but what I really missed was no tea pots, coffee pots or milk jugs, one had to make individual hot drinks at the servery. There was ample supply of English breakfast and plenty of toast with an excellent toaster. There was a good evening menu especially if you were only staying 1 or 2 nights. If you were there for a week it would be more limited choice. They did offer a daily special but it was the same daily special for the soup and main course every night! Fortunately for us it was three lamb cutlets which were excellent. The food was of a good quality, cooked well and ample. The hotel was clean, excellent disabled toilets, and the decor was all in very good order. Large car park and no problem accessing the hotel if you were using a wheelchair. I would recommend staying here for a short break.

Thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay at this hotel. The room was on the first floor and had a lovely view over the river and fields beyond. The room was clean and well decorated and the king size bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was comprehensive, with cooked and continental available. We dined there for the four nights of our stay and the food was delicious. Although it was the same menu every day, there was enough variety to be able to choose something different every day. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, with nothing too much trouble. There was no air con in the rooms, but you could obtain a fan from reception, which we did, if the weather was hot. Would certainly return if holidaying in the area again.

Lovely hotel, with good parking. Lovely staff and nice rooms. Would stay again, but must say baths small and slippery to get out of when you have dodgy knees like me. Mattress rather soft for my back also.

hotel nice, restaurant food was lovely and fresh - drinks could be cheaper! it was a really hot night and we had to ask for a fan which was ok but with those temperatures should have been in the room!

Great staff and service, lovely easy to access and move around in room, comfy bed, roomy bathroom, all we needed. Very nice breakfast in morning plus enjoyed sitting on decking overlooking river. Thank you:)

We were really disappointed with the carvery. It was sadly tasteless. The roast potatoes were anaemic, califlower cheese flavourless. 3 out of our group of 4 just couldn't eat it. We had to send 2 drinks back as the fizzy was flat. The setting is beautiful, and the outside seating is picturesque and relaxing. Think we'll be back for coffee one day and skip the restaurant.

Plenty of free parking, communal areas very clean & charming. We had a room at the front which was noisy because of the busy main road. There was a sign on the window saying not to open in the evening as the midges would come in. Room was warm as no aircon & there wasn't a fridge. We had drinks overlooking the river which was lovely & restful. Dinner on the first night was excellent, extensive choice, food really tasty & plentiful & good value for money. The waitress was really sweet, kind & helpful. Breakfast the next morning was lovely as well, good selection & tasty.

Breakfast was excellent, staff were pleasant and helpful. Bedroom was clean and plenty of room for our three night stay. Handrail near bath would be helpful. Would definitely stay again as close to family.

We had a big celebratory meal here with family and friends. Some of us also stayed overnight. Surroundings are beautiful,food excellent, service brilliant but also a very relaxed atmosphere .The rooms are spotless and beds are so comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble ,the staff were so friendly and helpful. Thank you all for a fantastic Birthday weekend.

Visited the Bridge House again as we have family in Ferndown and it is easier to stay at the Hotel. Once again, the Reception staff were so helpful and friendly. Our room was spotless as usual, we had breakfast and then Sunday Lunch before returning home to Oxford and they were both delicious. Definitely worth a visit and we will be back again.

Went for a family evening meal in this hotel. Had the burger, which was not good quality meat, very stodgy and appeared to be fried. It was most definitely not grilled. The cheese served with it was very rubbery and not good quality. Service from two young waitresses was average and a little abrupt, but another young waitress was more polite. On the positive side, my burger was still reasonable value for the generous portion, as it also came with good quality bacon and onion rings. My mother said her fish and chips was also very made. Lovely relaxed atmosphere outside when seated, and beautiful views.

These of us met here for coffee at 10.25 on a Sunday morning just as they were finishing breakfast. Quite a few staff working and weren't too keen in giving us a table. We asked about coffee and a bacon sandwich . Pointed over there but you have to be quick and will still have to pay the price of full English although not all the foods available. Made to feel most unwelcome . We didn't want a full breakfast as eating out for lunch. We weren't the only people in the restaurant at the time. When the bar opened at 11 we were still made unwelcome for soft drinks.

We stayed for 4 nights with another couple. Our rooms were comfortable and clean. Breakfast was good, with a range of food on offer. The staff were attentive and polite as well as very helpful. A very enjoyable stay.

The hotel provides decent rooms, at a decent price in a decent location with easy parking. It would benefit from a little more attention to detail but there is nothing fundamentally wrong. I have used the hotel before and would be happy to use it again. It is much better than it was, before it became part of the Best Western chain.

Just back from 2 night stay for my birthday whilst visiting local area. Beds very comfortable, however as no air con found room stuffy. Luckily had room at back of hotel so could keep windows open , if had room at front would be an issue as busy road. Breakfast very good and plentiful. Evening meal was OK however found the waitresses not very cheerful and felt they were just going through the motions. Bar man was very friendly.

We enjoyed our visit. The hotel has very attractive grounds. Our room was comfortable and well equipped. We had dinner and breakfast during our stay and both were very nice indeed. The welcome at reception was good and the service throughout our stay was very good indeed.

Room fine however always book a ground floor Riverside view and the reason for this would be that the front of the hotel has a main road and can be very noisy with the windows open which is a must on a warm evening as no air-conditioning. If your not to good with stairs a ground floor room is a must because there is no lift. Breakfast buffet style is fine because you have the choice of both continental or full English, however the latter is a bit hit and miss regarding being edible I. E. : Only fried eggs available which more often than not had the Dunlop seal of approval and resemble a joke plastic egg. Black pudding was hard and inedible as was tge butchers sausages. Tomato, mushroom, bacon and beans were fine and seem to survive the buffet style exposure. All other breakfast offerings were fine I. E. Cereal, toast, pastries, yoghurt, fruit etc.... Overall the full English offering was a big dissapointment. As I have already said the room was fine but was somewhat put off by the odd bit of black mold around the bath edge.

We had room 206 at the back of the hotel overlooking the river (which is much better from a road noise perspective). The room was clean and comfortable and quiet as towards the end of the corridor. The staff were all utterly charming and my son literally didn't want to leave the hotel. Wendy at breakfast even went out of her way to text friends for a recommendation for us for a rainy day occupation etc. Couldn't ask for more in terms of kindliness and ease.

The reception staff are always friendly and helpful even when there really busy The rooms have everything you need and always spotless with plenty thick fluffy towels A great stay before an early flight from Bournemouth

Lovely riverside view, we enjoyed watching a range of wildlife from our room. Good size clean comfortable room. We had superior room with two comfortable sofas. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Good food and good service. Easy parking.

The hotel was an excellent location to where we needed to be. We had a cosy double the room was amazing looked outvoted the river. The bed was comfortable, the room was spotlessly clean, and the bathroom was spotlessly clean as well. Ate in the restaurant had a carvery food was excellent. Good choice of breakfast would throughly recommended it. Staff were nice and polite and friendly

Stayed for just the one night to meet up with friends. The hotel far exceeded our expectations. The staff were lovely, in particular the lady at reception and the lady behind the bar on our arrival (sorry I can't remember your names) but the level of customer service from everyone was outstanding. The food was excellent & both food and drink prices much better than anticipated. The only reason we have not given them 5 stars is because the shower in our room flooded the bathroom floor. One other note is the temperature throughout the hotel was verging on uncomfortably warm. If they just knocked it down a degree or two I am sure they could save themselves a fortune on their heating bill lol

I stayed for 5 nights.. My room was comfortable, very clean. The staff were great, everyone very friendly and helpful. I ate breakfast and dinner there each day. The breakfast was consistently good. The dinner (including carvery) was rather varied, ranging from good to not so good. It seemed to lack any love from the kitchen. Altogether I would say that the friendliness of the staff was the saving grace of this review.

Stayed for three nights whilst visiting family over Christmas. Third time we have stayed here. Had a small issue with annoying background noise in Room 221, sounding like a washing machine in the background, very helpful staff moved us to room 219 but this wasnt any better, but it didnt spoil our stay. Breakfast was great, staff were lovely and helpful, will be back next time we visit.

Just had the worse Christmas meal ever at The Bridge House in Ferndown. The food was terrible and cold after they made us queue for over 30 minutes for a carvery? The staff were completely Disorganised and had no direction or supervision At all. If only McDonalds wax open we could go there on the way home and enjoy some decent food. For the money they charge on Xmas day I Would seriously recommend do not book to eat There you will be very disappointed indeed.

Firstly thank you to all the staff at the Bridge House Hotel for a very warm welcome. You all went the extra mile to make our stay very enjoyable. We were guests at a wedding taking place at the hotel and the catering was really outstanding. The added bonus was watching Otters from our riverside room. We can't guarantee that you'll see the Otters during your stay, but we're sure the hotel team will continue to deliver the same level of friendly service. We have stayed a couple of times over the years and cannot fault the hotel. The rooms are spotless and beds very comfortable. All the staff are great and cannot do enough for you. The food is lovely and very resonable

Hotel was clean, staff were great, food & drink was excellent. They could not do enough for our group of 20 people. We stayed for three nights. The trip was with our car club. This was our second time at the hotel and it's good it has a large car park.

Nice hotel, clean and tidy room and very friendly staff throughout the hotel. Best fish and chips I've had for a long while on Friday evening and the wife said the gammon was excellent as well. Really nice buffet put on for our friends birthday on Saturday. Finished with a good old Sunday carvery.

Lovely Christmassy atmosphere on arrival. Warm welcome from Reception as usual and a superb carvery in the evening .Our room was warm and cosy and the bed very comfortable . We had a good nights sleep followed by a very tasty breakfast. We couldn't fault our stay .

All three of us were impressed by the overall cleanliness, decor and layout. We had booked two easy access rooms with river views, the bathrooms were very well kitted out with walkin showers etc; The bedrooms were spacious and the view stunning with plenty of wildlife to watch. Staff were attentive and efficient. We will certainly be booking again.

Just a one night stay to visit the nearby uni. Well run hotel, friendly helpful staff, diner good, breakfast perfect. Rooms really clean, great hot water pressure in bathrooms. Beds super comfortable, fluffy duvets, soft pillows. Lovely touch of water bottles in rooms alongside the tea facilities. Great. Only negative is this is right on the roadside, and our room overlooked it so slight road noise, and the rooms are not soundproof, but unless you are a light sleeper you're not going to have any problems. Would stay again.

As usual this Hotel is excellent - staff very friendly and helpful and rooms spotless. Only another three weeks to go and we will be back for another break - Can't wait. Always a great welcome and the food never fails to please

Great hotel, relaxed atmosphere and very comfortable. Reasonably priced and good breakfast with quality products. Plenty of space in the rooms and lovely gardens surrounding the hotel. The staff were friendly and so welcoming . Look forward to returning.

For the third time got bumped up to a river view at no extra cost. Wonderful customer service. Would recommend to anybody. Food excellent, restaurant staff extremely efficient, very soon after tables vacated, staff cleared tables and soon after tables cleaned.

My friend and I have just spent at week at this hotel. This is our second stay and both times we were not disappointed. All the staff are welcoming and friendly, receptionists, bar staff, resaurant staff, cleaners, couldnt do enough for us, we were so well looked after. I even got a good morning from the chef as we passed in the resaurant. Our room was comfortable, clean and well decorated with as much complimentary tea, coffee, bottled water and biscuits as we wanted and replenished every day. There was complimentary soap, shampoo and shower gel too. We can highly recommend the all you can eat breakfast which is available to staying guests and non staying guests. It was top quality and plentiful. Thank you Bridge House, keep up the good work, we will be coming back next year!

Lovely location on the River. Friendly, helpful staff. Great place for solo guests. Delicious breakfast and 'reliable' evening meals. Good choice of gins!! This was my 3rd visit and I will definitely be returning.

My Husband and I stayed two nights ( Friday /Saturday ) in order to attend a reunion party on the Saturday afternoon. We had a downstairs, easily accessible room, which was clean, roomy, quiet and very comfortable. My only downside was the fact that the duvets were very heavy and hot. I spent most of both nights alternating between in, or out of the cover. Also It would have been appreciated if the Biscuits had been replaced on the Hospitality tray on Saturday. .. The food at the Bridge House is excellent. All of our meals arrived hot and there was plenty of it. I only have a small appetite so on the first night I had a half portion of Ribs with fries. The bbq sauce was delicious and the fries were just as I liked them. My Husband had the the Nut loaf . He said it was the best he'd ever had ( and he's had many ) On the second night I was full from the afternoon's Reunion Buffet so I only had a Soup starter plus a fruit crumble pudding. Both also delicious. The Buffet breakfasts were excellent. I'd like to say thank you to the Chef who personally brought me a Pan au Chocolate on Sunday morning because he knew I'd been waiting. ( Now that's service ) .. On the Saturday afternoon a finger buffet for the Reunion members was served in the function room. There was a very good selection available and all done to a high standard. Everyone present said they enjoyed the food. A big thank you and “ Well done” again to the Chef and his staff. …. All the Staff at the Bridge House were friendly and welcoming . But I must mention Jess , who did such a great job for us on Saturday afternoon, moving furniture around to accommodate us in the function room. She made sure everything was as we wanted and looked after us so well, always polite with a lovely smile for everyone. Also Alana, who was marvellous in the restaurant and at taking care of us. Both ladies were a credit to the Hotel. Thank you and I hope to see you both again soon. From this weekend experience I have no hesitation in recommending the Bridge House Hotel.

This hotel is excellent. Staff friendly, food excellent and comfortable clean rooms and beds. Complimentary tea and coffee making facilities in rooms. Very quiet and we always have a good nights sleep. We stay here before and after flying from Bournemouth airport. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Friendly and welcoming staff. Rooms clean, a decent size with very comfy bed and nice bathroom facilities. Good food and service in the restaurant. Lovely view from the bedroom window and saw the local Kinkfisher flying along the river each time we were in the car park !

I only made use of the room for a single night. However, the room which was very clean and comfortable and had all the amenities needed for work and relaxation. There is adequate parking which is really helpful and a restaurant on site for all meals

Always stay at The Bridge House when we visit family in the area. Very welcoming atmosphere as the staff are always friendly. Chef was great on the Sunday evening as I didn't want the Sunday Carvery. Very accommodating and I really enjoyed the Salmon Teriyaki, rice and veggies. Thank you and we will be back, again!

First stay at the Bridge Hotel. Came from wiltshire to visit family, and to celebrate a birthday. We found no fault at all, highly recommend this Hotel and will book again when next visiting family. Staff are friendly and accommodating.

We attended a funeral in the area and the wake/ reception was held at this hotel. As we traveled from Sheffield we decided to stay the night at the hotel. The staff at the hotel are excellent and the rooms are of a good standard. We booked two rooms 1 Classic double and 1 Comfort double both rooms are good with the comfort being slightly smaller but still of a good size. All rooms had coffee and tea making facilities and the rooms also had a decent Wi-fi signal. We booked for the buffet breakfast and that was excellent. We had no complaints at all.

Had a nice room but bathroom was very disappointing, there was mould on the ceiling and by the shower screen. Getting in and out of the shower is slippery they could do with fixing a hand rail on the wall or better still doing away with the bath and making a walk in shower would be more practical. We had an evening meal on arrival the waitress ask if we wanted a drink I asked for two glasses of coke we were served two pints of coke. Perhaps she should of asked large or small. I put that down to lack of training by the management. All I can say about the neal was it was nothing to write home about. Breakfast was rubbish the bacon wasn't very nice at all and the sausages were as hard as nails. The best thing were the Cornflakes they come in an unopened box so could not be mucked around with. All in all its a shame because I really used to like visiting this hotel but will think twice next time.

Lovely hotel and staff, Claressa was very helpful when we booked our room. You won't be disappointed with this hotel, nice rooms, clean, great meals, very friendly and helpful staff. You can tell it's family run as the staff care and really strive to give you a great experience. Plenty of parking.

This hotel is excellent for location to visit the town itself or places along the coast or new forest, service in the hotel is first class the restaurant and bar are large but still feel warm and friendly. Car parking is good with a large car park behind the hotel

A very nice restaurant but a few issues: it's very dark in the restaurant, dining chairs are not very comfy, very noisy in the rear bar area with staff banging and crashing dishes around, blackberry and apple crumble - a good bowlful but far too much filling and just a very light sprinkle of crumble which was not browned properly. Waiting staff were lovely - Cody served us with a smile and was very professional and helpful. Restaurant and staff all very clean; good carvery meal so will probably return at some point but hope for the above issues to be improved.

This Hotel is in a great location for exploring the area. Very clean and comfortable. Great food at reasonable prices . Very comfortable and the lovely decked terrace overlooking the river was wonderful.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the staff were all attentive and the rooms were super comfy. I enjoyed poached eggs with breakfast. We invited relatives to eat with us and they were impressed too. Our room was facing the river and it was pleasant to see people enjoying the outside environment. We hope to return when the days are brighter.

The room was very big with a walk in shower. Very quiet with a lovely view. The Windows could do with a lock so as in the heat able to keep windows open but no one can get in. They do have a locking system but only a fraction to open. Also a fly net would be a good idea as l had to get rid of 3 Spiders in the room before going to sleep, and by the River Mosquitos get in.

Can't fault anything about the staff being pleasant, friendly, helpful and attentive. Room, breakfast, dinner all very nice, to a good standard and comfortable. Made it a lovely experience. Location is great for access to local area. The bonus of views of the river while eating breakfast was just great! Only minor downside, if you're a light sleeper and want the room windows open, you may want to have earplugs for the road noise, can be a bit busy. Didn't spoil our stay - just meant being prepared.

Stayed here several times hotel very clean breakfast has an excellent selection. Evening meal menu could do with some new selections of meals as it's been the same for the last 2 years overall though the hotel is very nice and we would highly recommend. Special thanks to Claressa who is always very professional and polite.

This hotel is well situated for tourists and business people alike. Its comfortable, clean, excellent menu choices and maintains experienced staff. Handy for Bournemouth Airport, New Forest, Poole and Ringwood.

Stayed in the Bridgehouse for work, and it was a lovely quaint Hotel, The bar seemed nice and it was nice having a pint outside on the riverbank veranda. My only real complaint is the lack of AC in the room, I know it's not a necessity, but just in the warm summer months, when your on a roadside room, having the bedroom windows open ment Lots and Lots of noice from the road.

This is a lovely and friendly hotel, which we have stayed at before. Never disappoints. Thank you for a lovely 2 nights stay. Will definately be staying here again. Nothing was too much trouble if we had any questions or queries.

The Bridge House Hotel was our wedding reception and evening venue. The staff were very friendly, the food delicious and the location next to the river great for entertaining and for some lovely photos. A very special thank you to Meghan for all her hard work over the last few months and on the day to ensure our day was very special and just as we wanted it. Would recommend to anyone for their wedding reception.

Rather liked this hotel. I liked the interior decor and had a lovely view overlooking the lake and island. Food was nice in the restaurant and everyone very friendly. This is on a main road so I dont know if there would be traffic noise on the road side but my side was nice. You are under the Bournemouth Airport flight path but its not that busy and not too many flights I found the wifi a bit hit and miss at times but managed. And note to housekeeping, when i hang my towels up, please dont replace them

After driving all day in the hottest day of the year, to arrive at this stop over was a joy in it's self, but to find the outside area of the bar overlooking the water was just a treat, very enjoyable.

My husband and I stayed here whilst we were at a wedding. It was great. The bed was comfy. The breakfast was great. Being gluten free it is rare that I get to eat a good breakfast at a hotel. But they provided gf toast and sausages! I was so pleased. And the view from my room was lovely. The staff couldn't be more accommodating. Would love to stay again!

Chosen as a stopover on our way to Cornwall. Good comfy bed and pillows. Friendly helpful staff. On arrival we were upgraded to a river view room. Booked dinner, bed and breakfast. Good value. Good dinner, great breakfast. There was a slight glitch on checkout with our prepaid (we thought) room. It was not a fault of the hotel and was dealt with professionally, considerately and completely satisfactorily. Would definitely choose Bridge House again if staying in the region.

Excellent Hotel. Probably the cleanest I've ever stayed in. Staff were excellent and very friendly and accommodating. Food was excellent but shame it was a buffet style breakfast to be honest. Bacon was over cooked and the filter coffee was weak and tasteless but the have a machine behind the bar and that was perfect. Considering it was on a main rd it was very quiet sat out back near the river, beautiful setting, and the room was quiet too. Very comfortable bed in 108 with a pristine bathroom with walk in shower. It is in my top 5, and I have stayed in a lot in various places worldwide. Bar is cheaper than average too. For the South anyway. Perfect for Bournemouth if you want a quieter location.

Excellent hotel. Staff very efficient and friendly. Room kept to a high standard. Food was really good. Only thing l think could be better is for the hotel to have non slip mats for the shower. Will certainly visit again.

Often stay at this good hotel due to its pleasant location, comfortable rooms and friendly ambience with a pleasant bar and lounge looking towards a river with a decking area....Clean public areas and accommodation and a good breakfast...Always upgraded as a Best Western hotel member which makes a super extra.

Good value budget hotel with capacious ‘accessible' room, containing a mix of thoughtful facilities and the need for some improvement such as more shelves (particularly in the shower room), suitcase racks and better lighting. Location, on the river side, exceptional. Restaurant more than adequate with great fish and chips and wide choice for buffet-style breakfast. Staff all very pleasant and ‘housekeeping' very efficient. ‘Blue badge' parking area at front needs fiercer instructions to prevent blockage by a led drivers! But, all in all, bar a very few minor niggles, a pleasant and restful stay; clean, comfortable and welcoming.

We stayed here for 2 nights , the first of which was our 35th anniversary . Lovely location , backing onto the River Stour , with walks nearby along the river . Our room was pretty good , clean and plenty of space . There was a problem with a door but that was sorted out quickly and effectively . Breakfasts were nice and the evening meal we had there was very good . Also the staff , especially the lady in charge of restaurant that night , were very pleasant and friendly . The only minor downsides were very much outweighed by the good points . The car park has a code system to exit and one evening i could not get this to work and had to ask the Receptionist at the time to help . As you would guess she did exactly what i tried and it worked first time , making me look a bit stupid . She seemed a bit peeved at the time but she was busy when i asked for help so not too bothered . Also being at the front very busy with traffic so quite loud with window open and a few queues out there at times . Minor issues , great stay , thank you

Never worry about your stay you have everything you need for a great trip. Food, Bar, Garden great staff. You are treated like royalty at a right price. You can have the quiet of the backyard, pond and peaceful.

Staff very friendly and helpful food is fantastic and good portions rooms are very clean parking is very easy quite a few accessible spaces out front and a car park to the rear as well. Only downside it's on a bend of a busy main road

Just got home from a wonderful 4 night stay at the Bridge House Hotel. From start to finish it was relaxing and enjoyable. Our room was ground floor overlooking the garden. It had an accessible bathroom which was a wonderful size and well equipped. We had twin beds which were really comfortable and we both slept well despite the heat!! We were really careful not to open the windows with the lights on due to a warning about bugs. We didn't have any issues in this department. The restaurant was great. Breakfast was buffet style, it was plentiful and freshly cooked. We also had lunch and dinner on various days and were really pleased with all aspects. The menu is varied and reasonably priced. The service was excellent and the food was well cooked and great sized portions. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. With special mention to Shannon and Tom who both went above and beyond. Although to be fair all of the staff were excellent. We were there over Fathers Day weekend and were very impressed with the organisation and staffing levels on this extra busy day. There were 3 weddings during our 4 day stay but they did not bother us as our room was furthest away from all the noise. Sitting out on the deck with a cold drink was a joy. It was really beautiful and peaceful despite being on such a main road. I would definitely advise a Garden View room and if you visit it wedding season ask to be located away from the main function room. We will definitely go back.

Great hotel with brilliant staff who were always helpful, cheerful and polite. Love the location. Food is really good with plenty of choice. If you need to stay in this area then this would be a really good choice.

The perfect stay! All staff were very friendly , polite and professional. Our upgraded Superior river view was terrific, and spotlessly clean. The complimentary bottle of wine waiting for us in the room for my wife's birthday was a nice touch. Staff in the restaurant and bar went out of their way to make it a great dining experience. The food was delicious and reasonably priced We shall definitely be staying again with yourselves the next time we are in Dorset. PS Just a thought! - As a keen Kingfisher photographer, you guys could consider putting a couple of perches over the water near the decking/veranda outside area to try and attract them to come closer to the hotel.

From booking hotel to leaving 4 days later the staff have been excellent from start of break to finish. Would recommend this hotel. We had 2 rooms on ground floor great access to bar and dining area. Had food which was excellent. Rooms very clean

Bridhe House has clearly spent money on refreshing the public spaces of the hotel. The staff are efficient at what they do but lack warmth and personality. There's littl evidence that they enjoy their work. Be prepared to have to ask for everything, rather than receive proactive suggestions or enquiries. The room was clean.

We booked this as we had a wedding in Bournemouth, the hotel is brilliant. The staff are very friendly, there is a large free car park on site, the rooms are great and the breakfast was lovely. We would highly recommend and would stay here again :)

Enjoyed the reception room very much lovely view of River from open air balcony and from room very clean with everything we might have expected thankyou. The staff were very polite and helpful . The buffet was adequate but very little for myself as a vegetarian also not labelled to allow me to identify vegetarian food could have been better there.

I booked a room yo prepare for my Wedding after being badly let down by the Dudsbury Golf & Spa Hotel, I was so glad they let me down because the Bridge House Hotel was far Superior so they did me a favour. Everyone was helpful and friendly the Superior Riverside Room was huge a perfect setting to hold myself, bridesmaids, beautician and hairdresser plus others the view over the river was glorious, I could not have wished for more.

We were attending a wedding locally and chose the Bridge House because it was close to the Church etc but we are so glad we chose to stay here. We booked a superior double overlooking the river. It was lovely to sit with the Juliet balcony door and sit and watch the swans and ducks on the river. The room was very quiet and we enjoyed a very good sleep both nights. Have to say the mattress was amazing. The staff are friendly, polite and helpful. The food was of a very good standard and breakfast was perfect. We will definitely be staying here again.

A few weeks prior to my booking, I was staying with family, and had spotted a sign for the "Unlimited breakfast for £9.95" Well worth the money, it was delicious - I knew I'd be returning to the area but had booked to stay elsewhere, big mistake, checked out the same day, it was that bad. This is when I called The Bridge House, and booked in right away. I will be returning in the very near future, honestly, you don't want to miss out on this hidden treasure x

Lovely hotel with stunning view over the gardens. Room was ample for us though a bit noisy next to the road. The walls were also quite thin as you can hear taps, shower and loo flushing. But didn't put us off our stay. Staff were friendly and the breakfast had a good selection. Stayed for a wedding which was at Parley Manor which was just down the road. Perfect.

I'm so glad to have this opportunity to thank you the whole team for their great welcome, help and support. I stayed with you Monday 4/4 (as a lone female traveller) but arrived early Friday 1/4 for a breakfast prior to my friends picking me up. The breakfast staff were efficient, joyful, chatty and fun - the initial greeting was professional and friendly and although it was busy all the staff were lovely - this includes not only the waiting staff but the gentleman behind the desk ( I think he was Phil) that looked after my case and the chefs who produced a brilliant hot breakfast. ( the only thing missing was decaf tea - but on the Monday it was there) on the Monday night I returned and had a meal with a friend - it was excellent food and Finley and Tom behind the bar gave a friendly welcome, they were also helpful and efficient. On Tuesday morning I had a taxi booked that didn't arrive for 6am and Wendy was there to help and sort everything out - she went way beyond her job remit and solved my problem immediately- she was so very kind and went out of her way to help me and I will remember her always as the lady who's natural kindness just shone through and shows there are some amazing people out there and she definitely one of them. This hotel was recommended at my place of work. So for a last minute decision I made the right choice. Overall a Great Hotel , Nice staff, Excellent food and good location for my work. Car park was amazing plenty of space which is always a challenge. Wifi was very reliable around the hotel and in the room.

The hotel room was clean and the closeness of a bar and restaurant gives you all the options. The staff are really friendly and were at hand to help. The breakfast was lovely and with a view of the river. I would thoroughly recommend this as it's clean and budget friendly.

We held my late father's celebration here, and I can't rate the team highly enough. A lovely hotel with fabulous views across the nature reserve, comfortable amenities and bright and clean accommodation. My thanks to Megan, Beverley, Tom and Phil.

A beautifully situated hotel on the River Stour but close to Bournemouth and easy access to other places of interest. We enjoyed a lovely evening meal at the first class restaurant. Very helpful staff and free parking and we would definitely go again.

A lovely modern hotel on the river with walks and close to Bournemouth if you do not mind a walk. Lounge was peaceful and very well laid out with plenty of room. Room was god size with river view. Large bed with firm mattress for those that like this. Very clean.

On first impression from the road you may feel a little short changed how ever don't let the wooden fascia kid you. Behind this is a lovely character filled building. There is good safe parking to the side. The room I had a lovely view of the river that runs behind and the birds and wildlife where a pleasure to watch. I will be looking to back there the next time I need to stop in the area. Hopefully I will continue to find the staff friendly and welcoming, the rooms as clean and tidy and the food as tasty.

This was a one night stay, following a birthday party. Unfortunately, this pleasant hotel could not cure my hangover! Nevertheless, I did sleep well, and took advantage of the comprehensive breakfast that was on offer. I have stayed at the Bridge House Hotel in the past, and will no doubt, do so again

I have not stayed at the Hotel but being local I regularly eat in the restaurant. I am disabled and in a wheelchair. Great access with a ramp. Staff are wonderful and look after us very well. I will be using the hotel for friends to stay. Really love the hotel atmosphere. Thank you to the wonderful staff who even when busy have time for you.

I was delighted, if you want somewhere clean comfortable and tidy with the friendliest staff ever, this is the place. The bathroom even had complimentary shower gel shampoo and soap in the bathroom which I've never had before. And as well as coffee tea and hot chocolate there were bottles of water too. Fabulous.

Loved the Hotel. Our Room overlooked the River. Fascinating. Very peaceful and quiet. Clean and adequate. Lived the Dorset Tea Staff were very friendly, busy but had time for you, even though they were short staffed. Disappointed with the Restaurant, felt for evening meal we had Sunday leftovers. wine was good

We booked this hotel as it was close to Bournemouth Airport, seemed nice and clean and was very good value. This all turned out to be exactly that. We were initially given a road side room, but we asked for a Riverside room and were moved at no extra cost and without any fuss. The room (both rooms that we saw) was very clean, spacious and had nice Tea/Coffee facilities. The bathroom had a nice deep bath and a shower head with decent water pressure. The bed was comfortable with nice quality pillows and the TV was fine with all the usual freeview channels. Check in was easy, parking was easy, check out was easy. We didn't use the bar or restaurant, but looked nice and clean with a decent English pub menu. In summary, an excellent choice for a Bournemouth Airport Hotel and fantastic value.

This hotel was simply charming with new decor, friendly and professional staff comfy beds and excellent cleanliness...Parking is free and plentiful. Nice comfortable bar and a restaurant with a pleasant and calm ambience. Lunch carvery is nice and evening menu plentiful. Buffet breakfast is plentiful also.

This is my 2nd stay at the Bridge House, the first of which was lovely too. We were advised that on this stay we would not be able to eat in the restaurant in the evening, due to a staff Christmas party that was talking place. We thought, 'fair enough' and planned to find somewhere local to eat later in the evening. Upon leaving to find somewhere we asked reception where we could go and the heat chef overheard the fact that we were leaving and instead we join their private Buffet. The restaurant manager then looked after us all evening, checking in on regularly despite it being their work party. We were given a free meal each and also a free drink each. This was a rare occasion, and please don't expect that if you stay here you will be provided with a free meal and drinks, but I do think it illuminate the kindness and care of this venue. On another note the rooms have always been clean, well designed and the food in the restaurant is beautiful. (we recommend the fish and chips). We will stay here again.

Three nights in Superior Riverside Room. Great value. Huge room and outstanding view. Very peaceful. Staff all very friendly and professional. Excellent room for birdwatching too! Daily visit from a Little Egret was unexpected surprise! Will definitely be back soon.

Myself and a friend booked a private function at The Bridge House. The service was excellent from start to finish. A special mention to Meghan who managed the event and was very friendly and efficient. The food that was provided for our guests was excellent. Some of our party stayed overnight and all commented on how clean and comfortable the rooms were. The riverside setting is lovely and there is a large free car park for guests. The breakfast was very good with a great selection to choose from. I have also recently been to the hotel for lunch on several occasions and again could not fault the food or service. Thank you to all the staff and management who made our party and our stay such a success.

Warm relaxed environment. Clean well supplied rooms. I live nearby and is a great place to escape from children and stress. All staff ate incredibly polite and professional. Best place I've stayed in quite a few years and I've travelled all across Europe.

Booked for a Boxing Day lunch as have eaten here before. Unfortunately the meal was very disappointing this time. Melon starter was hard then had to wait 10mins to be called up to the carvery. The plates and food were cold, very unappetising. I did mention it to the waitress and was told the kitchen would be told, no offer of heating my food up. Menu said pigs (plural) in blankets, we were given one each. Cheesecake dessert was the best thing. This has put us off going again.

Have stayed here a few times before and as ever the staff all professional and friendly and the room and hotel all spotlessly clean. Stayed over Christmas and had a Christmas Day lunch with an extra guest and all was well up to standard - and very enjoyable. Had a room overlooking the river and realised that we spent a lot of time just watching the birds and the river.

We needed somehwere to spend two nights over Christmas to join up with our daughter's family. The Bridge House was convenient, and our stay there was very pleasant - clean and spacious room and very friendly and helpful staff. Thank you!

Friendly staff, clean and comfortable room. Great breakfast. Rooms at the rear are quiet and overlook the river. It's got everything for an overnight stay. This will be our first choice when staying in this area.

My wife and I stayed four nights at The Bridge House Hotel and we enjoyed our stay. We had a room at the end of a corridor on the first floor, which was clean, light and airy. There was some noise from the extractor fan in the kitchen below, but fortunately this was switched off at 10.00pm when the kitchen closed and we were able to get a good night's sleep. We were however woken up at 7.00am on two morning by the noise of aircraft taking off from Hurn airport as the hotel is right in the flightpath. The staff were friendly, polite and obliging. Nothing was too much trouble. In particular, we would like to thank Clarissa on reception who looked after us very well and made our stay very enjoyable. We dined in the hotel's restaurant one evening. The food was what I would describe as typical ‘pub grub' and perfectly acceptable, although the portions were rather large and we struggled to finish them. Should we eat there again, we will not bother with a starter! Breakfast was buffet style and there was plenty of choice. Unlike some hot buffets, the English breakfast choices appeared to be freshly cooked and we enjoyed al 4 breakfasts. We would stay at the Bridge House again.

It was a seamless check-in with a friendly & helpful receptionist. All areas were clean & tidy and well maintained. Bedroom was cosy & compact with everything I needed. Restaurant pleasant and food was good.

Out of the four hotels we have stayed in this year THIS hotel was by far the best. Every member of staff seem to be interested in you enjoying and getting the best from your stay. Our room had a lovely view over the river, it was clean and comfortable and well serviced. All our meal were excellent. We noticed a number of local people used the restaurant, which must be a sign that it is constantly good value for money. If you enjoy walking there are a number of local nature reserves around the hotel. We will be retuning as we found it so relaxing

The best room I have stayed in at a Best Western, I travel the UK and stay in hotels frequently. Very spacious and clean even had a small bottle of red wine in a welcome pack nice touch. I would definitely stay again when I'm in the area.

The location is brilliant, overlooking the river Stour. Sit on the terrace and look at the Swans, Herons and in the summer the Dragonflies along with the wildlife. The hotel is very comfortable with friendly staff always on hand. The food is lovely, freshly cooked and very appetising. Our room was excellent, large and looking over the river. My only criticism is the cost of breakfast, although nice, a bit too expensive. Overall all a lovely stay.

Stayed over the weekend whilst attending a wedding at the hotel. Rooms are modern clean and have all the bits and pieces you'll need. Iron hairdryer etc. nice tea and coffee selection etc My room was overlooking the road which is busy and therefore a little noisy but this didn't prevent a good nights sleep. Other family were overlooking the river - nicer view and much quieter. Breakfast was excellent, plentiful and well presented

We had stayed at the Bridge House Hotel a couple of times before and it was OK but this visit was definitely not so good. There was a function on and the noise (and the smell of cigarettes) was unbearable in our room so we had to ask to be moved. Luckily someone had cancelled so it was possible and they were very nice about it but I would hesitate before booking again. Bathroom was barely big enough to open the door and the bed was uncomfortable.

We were here for a wedding and at the last minute decided we wanted to stay overnight. The receptionist was super helpful and sorted out rooms in a few minutes. The quality of the rooms and the hotel in general is excellent. It's in a lovely riverside location and would definitely recommend it

Pleasant Room, nice and clean. Great Breakfast bar, fantastic start to the day. Price was a bit of a shock!! But needs must!! Breakfast made up for it. Wasn't used to the noise from the road!! Hopefully stay again the next time I'm down that way.

Recently visited mid week with the family for a meal, first time visiting. After ordering drinks they were served by the waitress who was holding the glasses over the top, covid no covid, I do not want people's hands over my glass where I'm to drink from. This is basic waitress and hygiene training and made me feel very anxious. This review has no reflection on the food as it was nice, ice cream tasted a bit funny and felt it was overpriced for what it was.

I actually emailed the hotel twice over a period of 2 weeks giving them the opportunity to respond to my comments, you can read the email below and the reasons why I didn't want to come on here first without giving them the chance. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Firstly we should like to say we thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay with you last week, your hotel is lovely and the setting is amazing. We have friends that live nearby by in St Ives and we will certainly stay with you the next time we visit them. I know your industry has had a really tough time the last 18 months and I will put a review on TripAdvisor, but we just have a few constructive criticisms that I thought would be better to air them direct than put them on a public forum as I don't want to put anybody off staying with you. We stayed in a superior riverside double room, which was lovely, however we think that one little alteration to the that room and the other rooms on the riverside would make a huge difference. You have a notice stuck to the window warning us about the possibility of bugs getting into the room, the easy solution to this would be to fit full length net curtains as many hotels already do. As it is at the moment you cannot open the doors of a evening and during the night. When we stayed it was very hot and because there is no air con, sleeping was very uncomfortable, we used the fan but it didn't really make a difference, having nets there would enable us to open the doors and keep the room cooler, also it would give privacy from the balcony below and more importantly the fishermen on the other side of the river, we were sat on the sofa and the fishermen could see straight into our room as soon as we put the lights on, which meant we had to shut the curtains and considering the weather was so nice was a real shame. We also think a small clock which is illuminated should be introduced, this is the first place we have ever stayed where there wasn't one. When you wake up during the night you want to know what time it is and it's easier to glance at a clock rather than fumbling about with our mobiles, also a phone so as to contact reception. The smoking area downstairs should be moved, because the non-smokers have to walk through the smoke to get to a clean air space and also the smoke comes through the doors into the bar area. We were sitting at the far end of the balcony but the smoke was still drifting down which is not pleasant. All of the above are not complaints, they are just suggestions that we think would make your customers' stay more comfortable. However, we do have 1 complaint about a member of staff and unfortunately we do not have her name. On our 1st evening there, we booked a table for 6, this included our friends mentioned earlier, who live locally. My husband always likes a glass of wine with a meal when he goes out, he asked the waitress what was available and she said we do not sell wine by the glass, we were all taken aback, my husband said well what's the alternative and she said you have to buy a bottle. He didn't want a bottle as he was the only one drinking, I don't drink, 1 of our guests was driving, his wife was burying her father the next day (this is why were there to attend the funeral) and the other 2 were children, so my husband just said he'll have another pint of beer. We couldn't believe it. The next night we had a meal, just the 2 of us and we were presented with a wine list with different glass sizes!!! To say we were shocked was an understatement. On Thursday we had been out all day, the weather had been glorious and when we got back to the hotel we went straight to the bar to get some drinks, the same waitress from Tuesday night was serving behind the bar. We have come down from Yorkshire and up here we greet people in a certain manner because we are very friendly, we find things can be slightly different further down the country. My husband looked at the waitress, smiled and said “ Now then, alright??” Which means hello, how are you?? She just glared at him and never responded, as though we were either speaking a foreign language or had been rude to her. He then asked for a pint and she turned round and said “I'm cleaning the pipes out”, so my husband had to chose a different beer, I asked for a coke and was presented with a bottle, I am not a child or a youngster I am in my 50s and do not drink out of bottles, I actually had to ask her for a glass, which was slammed onto the bar. The day before I had the same drink and a more professional and willing barmaid handed me a glass with ice and lemon, how I would have expected it. At this point, while my husband was waiting for the beer, I walked away as I would have said something and didn't want to cause a scene. She was just plain rude. We are the customer and we should be the people that are greeted politely and asked how we are and have we had a good day etc… That's what you expect from any establishment, especially when we are paying £200 a night and spent just over £150 with our friends on Tuesday. The only way I can describe her is she was possibly in her 30s, wore glasses, had dark hair tied back in a ponytail and also wore a reddish coloured jacket or blazer, different form the other staff which gave us the impression she was maybe the restaurant or bar manager??? Which actually makes it worse if she is in that position. We didn't have any problems with any of the other staff, they were all very polite, friendly and professional, especially the waitresses on Wednesday evening. We chose not to eat in the restaurant on Thursday. I hope you take our comments on board and maybe consider some of the suggestions we made. I also hope you mention our complaint to the staff member, because to be honest she spoilt what was a nice break, we haven't had a holiday in 6 years because of our work commitments and this was the 1st time we have been away in all that time. We worked right through lockdown and would have thought that people in her position should be grateful to still have a job. We have our own business, nothing like your industry, but we do know how to behave and treat our customers.

Comfortable overnight stay with a good breakfast. Reception staff were very polite and dealt with checking in very efficiently. There is plenty of space for car parking. The hotel is in a quite a picturesque setting alongside the River Stour.

We have used The Bridge House on several occasions when we have caught early flights from Bournemouth. They have always been most helpful with our requirements, extra tea/coffee/sugar etc as well as booking taxis.

Clean well, well spec'd rooms, comfortable bed and soft bedding, pleasant river view. Exceptional food, the chef knows their stuff. Tempura veg!! Polite attentive staff, swift service. Meeting over breakfast in a relaxed atmosphere

We held our daughter evening wedding reception here, and was very happy with the service. I must say the evening buffet was excellent, good valve & quantity @15.00per head. well done to the staff behind the scenes, especially the kitchen, waiter & bar staff. We also booked rooms for guests, which I believe everyone was happy with, 1 quest room had sprung a leak due to the heavy downpour experienced earlier that day, but this was immediately solved and the room was changed. this is a reasonable priced venue, including bar prices & food. Also Full English Breakfast (self service all you can eat) @ 9:50per person

The Bridge House was amazing from the minute you were booking in at reception to the minute you were checking out. Everyone was so polite friendly and professional. The room was spotlessly clean and very comfy bed. James (manager) was wonderful but I must give praise to Vanessa who was exceptionally amazing, very friendly, helpful and just friendly. A wonderful lady to your team and sure will be missed by all. Breakfast was fab too with perfect poached eggs !! Only one criticism was that the toilet roll holder was tucked away behind the toilet and low to the floor and you had to be a contortionist to reach said tissue!!! Perhaps that could be looked to be moved to a more practical position !! All the very best to you all and will certainly look forward to staying again should we be in this area again. What an unfriendly stuck up bunch! We had booked here for dinner as it was an old favourite of my parents but oh boy were we disappointed! Rude service, terrible ‘cocktails' and an air of faux snobbery. We left without eating. Sadly an old favourite ruined by poor management.

Have stayed here before and will stay again. Lovely room with river view. Very good food. Friendly staff. Beautiful walks through nature reserve, right on the doorstep. Being able to sit on the terrace in the sun was a real bonus. Despite there being a wedding party on we never heard a thing in our room! Great weekend!

This quaint hotel has the most amazing river and woodland views and extremely comfortable rooms . The service is extremely friendly and efficient. The food and menu also excellent. This the second time I've stayed here and would happily come here time and time again . Great value too

We stayed here for two nights and found our room to be clean and comfortable with a lovely river view. On arrival we sat and had a coffee on the decking at the rear, overlooking the river. Although the traffic on the main road to the front of the hotel was bumper to bumper, sitting on the terrace under the afternoon sunshine, was tranquil and relaxing. The staff were all friendly and very helpful. We didn't get to use the hotel restaurant as we were visiting friends and also a wedding to attend but passing by it looked busy with a nice atmosphere. Will definitely book again next time in the area.

Food was adequate but service very slow.Main course took 3/4 hour before it came.We were a party of 3 .2 of us had finished before the meal for the 3rd person arrived.The same applied to the desserts.The new decor makes the place extremely dark.Have dined here many times but wont come again!

Clean and very comfortable , a very reasonable price. Staff were both friendly & helpful. A very good breakfast and evening meal. Only fault, it was very awkward to get into the Bath to use the overhead shower . After saying this we would definitely stay again. The view from our room across the river was a bonus.

Booked Bridge House for a 70th Birthday for 24 people and overnight accommodation. It was brilliant , food good, service excellent price surprisingly low. I would totally recommend this hotel. Staff friendly, reception very helpful. We had a room overlooking the river extremely spacious outlook superb very quiet. We were catered for extremely well by Gareth and his staff. Breakfast good value compared with other establishments in Bournemouth and unlimited food ! The only “ fault” I could comment on the weekend of 11-13 Sept 21 was very warm and humid, there is no air conditioning and the hotel is hot. Cooling fans were provided but as the hotel points out if you open the windows riverside bugs enter the room . Maybe Mosquito nets riverside would help ? Everything I have suggested involves expenditure and I'm fully aware that businesses are frantically trying to recover from Covid lockdowns, maybe something to consider for future . Overall very happy and enjoyable stay. Clean and comfortable hotel. Sandra Watkins.

Very nice stay. Rooms are very good value and breakfast is very good. lovely riverside setting with lots of parking. Rooms at the front of the hotel get a little bit of road noise but it is minimal. We will return.

Lovely hotel situated just outside Bournemouth. We booked 1 night on our south coast road trip, a double and a twin room. Rooms are lovely, well presented and very clean. Our double was compact and found it difficult to open our case and move around round, but that said I was impressed with the rest of it. En suite was spotlessly clean and modern. The twin room was much more spacious. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again if in the area. Plenty of car parking on site and although on a main road it was fine.

Stayed here as a family of 12 ...age range 9 month to 86 years !!....Rooms were lovely ...very spacious ..food delicious...but main asset are the staff ....all so friendly and helpful ...special thanks to Lala in the restaurant. Will definitely vist again.

Myself and family all stayed at the hotel the night of our wedding (19/08/2021). Sadly, due to their confusion we turned up to the hotel and there was no room allocated to us (bride and groom), despite having given them a list of names to put against rooms and pre paid for every room in advance. We were left standing at reception with our 4 month old baby just after midnight while a hotel staff member had to search up every room on his computer to find one free. He tried offering us a cheaper room at first and then had to go up to a riverside room that I had paid for to check that nobody was actually in there first. So if you book with any large parties, please double check everything with them! I don't want anyone else turning up and having had their name taken off of a room. Safe to say we were exhausted and not entirely happy to be doing this on our wedding night with our 4 month old baby.

Very impressed with this hotel, the food, service and surroundings are excellent xx Ok it is on a busy A road so there is some traffic noise, but this did not in any way impact on the enjoyment of our stay The staff were very attentive, courteous and can't do enough for you so would we recommend this hotel DEFINITELY

The views are picturesque, but the location makes it an ideal hotel to visit the surrounding areas easily. Basic rooms, all you need, and exceptionally clean. We will be back. Very clean, everywhere, Well appointed and nicely decorated. Staff excellent and very helpful. Be awre the Hotel is someplaces close to the main road, you will have to sleep with the windows closed to keep the traffic noise out. The choice and scope of breakfast avaolable was excellent. A large number of the wedding guests gathered in the bar area after breakfast, coffe was provided for them after they had breakfsted.

A large group of us stayed here for a week, what a lovley hotel. We used it as a base to tour the area and it was definitely a great find. The rooms were well equipped and spotlessly clean, the staff were incredibly friendly and could not have been more helpful and accommodating. Always time for a chat and a laugh. Breakfast had so much choice and was excellent, as was the 5 evening meals we had at the hotel. Superb food, but if you fancy a change we can recommend the short walk to the King's Arms pub down the road. If I had one gripe it would be the one member of staff there called Gareth. I believe he was a manager at the hotel but found the way he spoke to his staff very off-putting, quite rude to them in fact. Certainly not the impression you want to show customers. One day we arrived back at the hotel shortly after lunch, and hoped they would be able to serve a bar snack or sandwich, but Gareth refused. I think he may have realised he upset our group as he brought us a round later that evening. That being said, all in all a fantastic week, with beautiful views from the rear of the hotel. Just be aware of how busy the road at the front of the hotel can get, particularly if you are trying to turn right out of the hotel.

The room was good, a pity about the lack of storage,no cupboards or anything, but that did not spoil our stay. The staff are excellent friendly and professional,always cheerful. The location is brilliant for exploring the local attractions . A slight downside is that the hotel is on the flight path from the local airport. But it is not that regular so not that much of a disturbance. A really great week .

Visited the Bridge house many times as a favourite before the refurbishment. Visited with friends for food tonight to find the service very poor, staff gave no manners or even a smile and given veg with roast when asked for no veg, being given drink stained paper menus which surely should not be re used given the current situation. Will not be visiting again or recommending.

We stayed at The Bridge House along with many family members and friends for my daughter's wedding. The bride and bridesmaids got ready and left from the hotel. The staff could not have been more accommodating or helpful. Very comfortable beds, standard of cleanliness and covid precautions were exemplary. Food in the restaurant for both breakfast and dinner was very good. All the staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Had a very enjoyable stay here. Booked a riverside room and was not disappointed! Great views and spacious room. We had a evening meal in the hotel restaurant which was decent, we also had breakfast that was very nice aswell! In general the staff are good and attentive, was a couple of times got the impression they didn't want to help. Overall a great stay

Helpful and hardworking staff abd adhering to covid measures.

Great location with good value for money especially for summer holiday and the hotel is not far from Poole and Bournemouth. Lots of parking and it was free of charge. Good clean rooms with good breakfast. The downsides were that our rooms were facing a busy road so it could get noisy and we had a problem with the shower in one of the rooms, but it was fixed quite quickly.

Visited before and went back this time as it is an ideal stopover place on the cricket trips with my son. Beds are comfy, rooms spacious and the food is very good and substantial. Nice on the bend of the river. Staff very polite. Will use again next time we are down here!

Second time staying, rooms and the hotel were very clean. Made us feel very welcome and all social distancing guidelines were in place. Would highly recommend. Lunch and breakfast were both excellent. My go to hotel in Bournmouth.

In a nice location with a large decking area overlooking the river Stour, very relaxing. Tasty breakfast and helpful staff. The hotel is nice throughout with good rooms and comfortable beds. Will return.

We booked this hotel for 1 night before a wedding in Poole the next day. The room was clean and a good size and the bed comfortable. The shower was powerful. Our room was at the front so was a bit noisy with traffic but the terrace and view at the back were lovely.

We had such a lovely stay here. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and the breakfast was great, with a good selection to choose from. Very relaxed feel in the hotel bar and very pretty view on the terrace. Would love to go back.

Have used the Bridge house for many years in fact 17 years ago had our wedding reception there,and regularly visited the carvery.Booked to visit last night with family to be told on arrival that the carvery was no longer available in evenings,was surprised not told when I booked on phone.We decided to stay and eat of the full menu and the down hill for visit,Took 45 mins to get meals from arrival and one of the gammon meals we had to return as it tasted bad,we did not re order as already been in there for 90 minutes,the place is no where as good as it was and will be a long time before we return.Also be aware they now automatically add 10% service charge unless you tell them not to,which we did after the slow service and very disappointing meal.

The room was a nice and very clean only downside was with 33 degree heat the whole hotel had no air con so the rooms were roasting. No sleep while we were there. Food was also under cooked and bland..

We had not been to Bridge House for nearly 2 years due do Pandemic and were amazed at the transformation. Elegant decor, beautiful views over countryside, friendly and efficient service, good food. Dorset Gammon a delight and the carvery excellent also. We are already booked in for a return visit. This time shall take our son and to weeks later 2 friends as we are confident they will enjoy it too. I recommend highly.

We recently visited the Bridge House for a meal with friends, which we were looking forward to. However, we were very disappointed to find that they no longer do a carvery (despite the writing on the outside implying that they do). Although the meal was tasty, we felt that it was overpriced and there was a distinct lack of vegetables – only a spoonful of peas or a sprig of broccoli. The staff were helpful and friendly. We felt that now the Bridge House has changed its fare as well as its owner, it is no longer a family restaurant but more for the hotels' customers who obviously have bigger budgets. We will not be returning.

We had an overnight stay last week with a good deal booked direct with Best Western that included breakfast. We booked dinner for 7.45 in the restaurant so decided to go down to the bar about 7 for pre dinner drinks. We were told to take a table upon arriving which we did directly in front of the bar. After around 10 minutes of waiting nobody had come up to take our drinks order despite the waitress passing by several times. I noticed that on a couple of occasions customers had gone directly to the bar to be served which we didn't think was allowed at present. I thus decided to approach the barman and he took our drink order, but then stated just wait while he finished the order he was making up. This was fine so I returned to my seat in front of the bar with the assumption that he would get the drinks sent over as I was aware that I couldn't stand around at the bar. Another 10 minutes went by with no drinks so finally my wife was able to attract the attention of the waitress who was very apologetic that we had to wait 20 minutes. She took our order and our drinks were delivered. The blond haired supervisor/manager must have been informed and she came over to sincerely apologised and was able to smooth over the situation professionally. Given her action we were prepared to forget the mishap given the issues that the hospitality industry have had to endure recently, and in many cases having to train new staff. The dinner and breakfast the next morning were excellent and taken with the great surroundings and the view of the river. We were expecting a ‘compact' room but were given a large room overlooking the road at the front. For some this may be an issue given the road noise but it didn't bother us given that we live on a main road at home. The standard of decor and cleanliness was excellent. Given the politeness and friendliness of all staff we encountered we are prepared to give a full 5* and would be happy to return.

We have stayed at The Bridge House many times over the years. I can only say that it just keeps getting better. The staff from Phil manager to all the girls in the restaurant and especially the wonderful chef who goes that extra mile. The deck overlooking the river is so peaceful and tranquil that you can just relax and let the world go by. If you want to star in this area then there is no other choice.

Just got back from the Bridge House hotel after spending a night there for our wedding anniversary . Its a clean and friendly hotel with helpful staff with lovely views over the river, that's if you have booked a room at the back , the front rooms overlook the road. We only had one niggle and that was that the room we had was over the bar so it was noisy until late and the again early morning. A nice breakfast stood us well for our journey in the morning. Our second time here and would go again.

We had a very pleasant stay at the Bridge House Hotel. Our room was spotlessly clean very quiet and overlooked the river. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and my husband and I would certainly stay there again if we were in the area.

Bridge House Staff set the tone of our visit, they were pleasant and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. Situated next to the river the peace was only broken by the odd arriving plane into Bournemouth Airport

We found the Bridge house hotel very welcoming and set in a lovely location. The staff were very pleasant especially Beverley at breakfast she had everything under control and was very efficient The room was spotless and very comfortable, all in all from booking with Clarressa to checking out we cannot fault our stay. All covid measures were in place which was reassuring

Lovely hotel in beautiful location, friendly staff and well worth a look. The grounds are spectacular adjoining the River Stour, full of dragonflies and other natural wildlife. Very easy bus service to Poole or Bournemouth so highly recommend.

Great location next to a small river, beautiful views at the rear. The friendliest staff I have ever met. We had a great dinner in the evening, but the breakfast exceeded our expectations. The choice of quality products was fabulous. The waiting staff are superb, efficient, friendly and very welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble. Our room was exceedingly clean and offered every facility we needed. The whole Hotel was spotless and Covid precautions were in place. Only sad that we were only booked for one night, but really hope to stay there again.

We stayed in the Bridge House hotel as a couple in June for 5 days. The hotel overall was okay, it was a good location to get to nearby attractions. The Tank Museum, Swanage, Durdle Door, Bournemouth were all a 20-45 minutes drive. Hotel room was small and the décor a bit outdated, especially the bathroom, but it was alright as we just used the hotel as a base. We paid extra for a river side room, which I would recommend as the hotel is right next to a busy road and the traffic can be loud. Pros: good location to get to other places. Cons: the walls were paper thin, could hear people talking and snoring in the room next to ours; bed was alright but not especially comfortable; the room could have been cleaner (towels weren't clean either) and we didn't get hand towels only 2 bath towels. (On our 3rd day we asked for new towels, due to COVID there is no cleaning in the rooms but the receptionist left the clean towels on the floor in the hallway which is not hygienic, could have put the towels in a bag at least). We didn't eat the hotel restaurant, but everything else is driving distance so keep this in mind when booking. Overall the hotel was okay but for the price (£107/night) I would expect more and also the lady in the reception was not very friendly.

We stayed here for a coupl of nights last week. We paid extra for a large river view room. The room was indeed large, very spacious and very comfortable. People there were very good. We didn't use the restaurant there as it was a bit too expensive for us eg £9.50 for breakfast when many alternatives are nearby. Although our room was very good, a couple of silly little things let it down. Lovely to have a Juliet balcony overlooking a great view with the river, however we found we could not use it due to noise from the drinkers veranda immediately below us. Also the heated towel rail did not work and although reported there was no response. Also strange there is no repeat light switch to the one inside at the end of the corridor entrance to our room. Having said all that We would definately stay there again.

This is truly the best hotel I've ever stayed in when visiting Bournemouth. The decor is great, our room was spotless and perfect and the staff are great too! We had late night drinks in the bar and they were more than happy to serve us and have conversation, nothing felt like too much. Will absolutely be returning and great value for money too!

We enjoyed our visit . The staff were very welcoming and friendly. It seemed very well run and the room was very clean. Do spend the extra for a Riverside view, as the road can be busy and noisy. We would have liked the room refreshments to have been replaced on the second day and the room tidied up. The breakfast service was very slow on the first morning. The are minor points though and we really enjoyed our time here.

Lovely room, we booked for two adults and a child. When we got there told me they didn't really cater for children wanted the little one to sleep in bed with us, but found a cot bed for us in the end.

A most pleasant stay in beautiful surroundings , staff very friendly and helpful . Food excellent and not over priced and presentation could not fault. Clean and fresh looking with modern decor . Would highly recommend

Had a great evening sleep at the hotel, we were too tight to pay the extra £20 for river view, our room was at tge front of the hotel,, so right next to the road but if you do not want road noise defiantly pay the extra, we didn't mind the road noise as we are used to it, but can imagine it would upset some people being away, so be warned. Don't be tight fork out the extra for no road noise or limited road noise., go for river view!!!Very clean, very welcoming, a little posher than we are used to, but worth the money, a walk around the local fishing lakes a must to, just over the road, a nice 45 minute stroll around both lakes

We stay here regularly and it is good to be back now lockdown is easing. The restaurant has been refurbished quite nicely. This is a comfortable hotel, the restaurant is excellent and the staff are brilliant, friendly, helpful and attentive without intruding.

Throughout the Pandemic and as a Charity Key Worker; the Bridge House Hotel has provided a welcoming and good dervice and provision within the regulations; very considerate staff and reception. I am currently planning not just to continue to use the Hotel for business, but am planning a stay with a group of friends and family for the summer period. Well done Phil and the team. Ken

We Always enjoy our visits to the bridge house - its great to be back - a lovely clean hotel - polite helpful and friendly staff - excellent food and an added bonus of the breakfast teapots back ! ! Hope to be back soon.

Room had superb view of river, we were lucky enough to see a kingfisher and a heron catching their meals, as well as swans with cygnets, ducks, moorhen etc. Ongoing panorama of wildlife and staff knowledgeable. Convenient location for trips to Tank museum and Swanage steam railway, fortunately both good on wet days. Sunday dinner was exceptionally good.

Amazing hotel was a first time stayer, staff all amazing went above and beyond with service and nothing was too much for everyone that's across the board with every member of staff would 100% recommend to everyone and will be staying again every time I am in the area

Comfortable beds, a warm welcome, helpful staff & now the restaurant is open again -- a real home from home hotel. Saw plenty of the heron fishing in the river and the swan with her cygnets. I stay here every month and it never fails to please.
