Friendly reception staff on arrival, complimentary upgrade which was a surprise. Room spacious and clean. Nice complimentary biscuits, coffee, tea and hot chocolate in room. Breakfast-good choices. Fab!

We visited this hotel as we were seeing family that lives nearby and were pleased with the size of the room, however the windows were single glazed and seemed quite unsafe for my children to be around so that concerned us, I didn't like how our window faced directly to cara parked literally within inches of our only window which came with a distinct lack of privacy, the carpet was quite old and stained and it was quite cold due to the windows, we opted for a different hotel on our returning trip due to all these reasons.

Very welcoming friendly staff. Made us feel very comfortable and ralaxed as we arrived late in the evening. Food 10/10 presentation was amazing was blown away by the food. Room was lovely warm cosy and clean. Breakfast was great good selection of food staff amazing didnt feel rushed nothing wasnt too much trouble. Manager gave me a tour of the Barn spectacular beautiful venue for a wedding or special occassion. We will be back. Thank you for making our short stay just perfect.

Our Valentine's evening at the Brome Grange was an amazing evening the attention to detail was second to none the staff were all very attentive especially Michael who made sure everything was ok we will be back

We stayed for one night at this hotel. First impressions seemed good. But that night the heating and hot water was cold. Me and my disabled partner and my daughters new born baby were so cold. What surprised me was in the morning we went to make a complaint to a member of staff and we noticed how warm there office was considering the whole heating was off? No staff member came to let us know about the problems. And it had started snowing that night as well. No offer of compensation.

Stayed at the Best Western Brome Grange Hotel and attended the New Years Eve Party there - a totally brilliant night with amazing entertainment, and great food & drink. Service was impeccable. Room was so lovely. Shower was great too. And lots of free parking!

Absolutely great stay at the Brome Grange Hotel. All staff at the hotel were so friendly and helpful. Reception 10 out of 10. They made my stay so enjoyable and comfortable. The room was spacious, clean and well-maintained. The bed very comfortable and the amenities were great. The breakfast was delicious and had a great variety of options. The service was excellent and the staff were always very friendly and attentive. The hotel is beautiful and with a lot of character. Great bar with open fire. Very secure parking on site. I had a great stay and would definitely stay at the Brome Grange again.

I've just got home after a stay at the Brome Grange after a three night stay for a New Year's party. We stayed once before and found the food and level of service was very good. After this stay I found the overall experience was excellent. I went with my family for a New Year's Eve party in the barn, Wow what a great time!! The staff and management were extremely attentive at all times, the food was amazing and the atmosphere was brilliant. I would certainly recommend this hotel and I will definitely be staying there again. Big thanks to the management.

Great customer service from the team helping with company Christmas event. Great dinner for the event and the breakfast was also really good. Recommend trying the aranchini for starters and the cheesecake dessert. A Victorian barn for the event only 1 minute walk from the hotel rooms. Spacious rooms with good quality beddings.

Excellent stay with Best Western in Brome. Room was large , comfortable and very clean. Staff very attentive. Large wardrobe plenty of hanging space. Yes you have to walk outside to the breakfast room but the warm welcome by the receptionist more than made up for it. We were lucky it didn't rain.

Hotel is nice and clean and staff are very helpful only complaint is located did not realise when booking its in the middle of nowhere you have to travel quite a way to get anywhere, I would stay here again if it was only one night but longer is a bit boring

Good value for money and nice staff but total shambles at breakfast time due to under staffing. One lovely lady waiting on had to deal with everything and everything was running out constantly she was continually running around… very unfair that she had no help, a younger member of staff came to assist but disappeared quite quickly - despite all of the pressure that the helpful lady was under she was still amazingly cheerful and more than happy to help - she is a credit to this hotel!!! We just thought it was absolutely dreadful that only one person was there at breakfast and yet we had been told that the hotel was booked to capacity so why was there no help for this member of staff? Very unfair! Food was very good but we did not like to see someone put under that much pressure.

Nice clean and quiet room, nice bar, and well cooked full English breakfast. On that basis I have booked again in November for my next trip to Diss. Probably one of the best options in the Diss area now that the Park Hotel has closed it's doors.

We've just returned from another great stay at Brome on Sunday. We've visited many times before over the years, and now the hotel is under new ownership. We were cautious as there have been some changes since our last stay, including quite a few staff members, but we needn't have worried, everything was lovely. On our arrival, we were warmly greeted by Mr Ransby. The new manager. (We do hope you enjoy your new post and the warm weather continues for you, after being overseas). We were checked in by another smashing member of staff Julie. ( Hope your two kitties are fine and well Julie). We mainly stay inBrome Suite, and this has now been updated with fresh curtains and carpets, different furniture, and the removal of the four poster. It does work, and looks much brighter. Well cleaned as always too. The only big no no is paper cups now being given for the tea/coffee tray. Why ? It's not a good idea at all. Please go back to decent cups. We enjoyed our afternoon in the lounge and we were well taken care of by Rassie ( apologies for the spelling)A smiley, so cheerful pleasant lady bless her, she looked after us so well.(Ask her, yes/no, maybe!). She's only recently started at Brome, but seemed to have settled in very well. Dinner on the evening was nice and cosy in the lounge, with helpful Elliott taking our order. We had three delicious, well presented and cooked courses from chef Stuart. Another great guy ( who was also very helpful in sorting our tv earlier when we couldn't initially get it to switch on. Thank you Stuart) After a peaceful nights sleep we enjoyed breakfast in the restaurant. Rassie back on duty to greet us, plus Joe. They took care of our hot breakfast orders. I had the most delicious omelette as I usually do, and my other half the full English. All food arrived hot, plentiful and tasty . Other options at brekkie we're the usual breads, cereals, juices etc. Lovely ! When checking out we were again warmly greeted by Julie. We didn't want to leave. We had a great stay. Have to say the entire team we had the pleasure to meet, and were new to us, were absolutely smashing. They couldn't do enough to make our stay great, and every single one ( including manager Mr Ransby) were friendly and courteous. Huge thanks to them all, and also with all the improvements and updates gradually taking place in the hotel,it's all absolutely for the good ( except those pesky paper cups in the rooms lol !) It was the loveliest stay! We were only there for one night with breakfast included, for my cousins wedding but will 100% be going back! The staff were so friendly and accommodating and the room was perfect!

Super friendly staff. very spacious room for 3 of us staying. and comfy beds. very quiet and love the outdoor room layout. would definitely visit again if passing. Nice touch of teas and coffee etc

5 of us stayed in a standard family room! It was lush! Had everything we needed! My 2 girls fit easily in the single, sofa bed for 1 and the double was comfortable! Breakfast was amazing, staff were lovely and friendly! Between the hotel, courtyard and Tithe Barn, couldn't fault a thing, and they are all close! Highly recommended for everyone and anyone!

Rock hard bed red hot room couldnt open window as let in traffic noise from main road.breakfast was terrible told waitress there was no beans she said they were on there way 10 minutes later same girl said there were no more beans by this time rest of my breakfast was stone cold. Hot water flasks for tea and coffee tepid at best. Breakfast tasted like it had been cooked 2 days before.. ate in restaurant used salt cellar lid fell off and salt poured onto my meal. Was taken in kitchen scrapped the salt of my plate and gave me the sane meal back. Said lots of people had the same problem so why were the salt cellars still on the tables . Would never stay there again whatever happened to customer service.............

The staff at the hotel were very welcoming and friendly. However that's the only good thing I've got to say about the hotel. The rooms were dirty, food was poor, tables were sticky. Don't bother staying

We have stayed at this hotel a few times before and it is a good location for many places to visit around the Norfolk coast and broads as well as the suffolk beaches. We stayed in one of two 2nd floor balcony rooms which was very clean and comfortable. We were pleased we asked for this room as the rooms do not have air conditioning and this room had french doors onto balcony and we left those open all night. I very much recommend the bar for meals in the evening, even though there is a great deal of traffic noise outside. The food is very good, with plenty of choices apart from a Sunday when its only a roast. The bar staff are fantastic, extremely attentive without being imposing and work very hard. We particularly enjoyed the company of Jake, the young man who works every night. He was very friendly and extremely helpful and worked extremely hard. Unfortunately breakfast was hit and miss. There are some cold buffet items, i.e pastries juices and cereals. The hot food is made to order. I ordered poached egg, bacon and mushrooms. My husband had a full English with poached eggs. Both our eggs were hard. My bacon wasn't hardy cooked and thick and fatty but my husband's was beautifully cooked, nice thin crispy bacon. One day coffee lovely and strong another day extremely weak. There didn't seem to be any consistency. The young girl that worked the breakfast room was very polite and also hard working. All in all we would return as its in a location that's extremely handy for days out and reasonably priced. Also very clean.

Stayed in one of the outside rooms, was nice to have own entrance and car was parked right outside the door, bit like a motel. Decent size and clean. Tv reception was very poor couldn't get any Itv channels and bbc kept breaking up, reception was informed twice but problem remained. We felt the room could do with a couple of chairs to relax in, felt a bit like a business trip room! The main part of the hotel was nice and had character. Website states in 4 acres of grounds however there's no outside area to walk around other than a run down area with a few tables outside the restaurant and bar!

This is our second visit to the hotel and I would highly recommend it. everywhere is so beautifully clean the rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The staff go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable they are so friendly and helpful. I have various food allergies but I had nothing to worry about as the chef was very accommodating. This is just a genuinely friendly comfortable hotel who cater for everyone

Booked 3 rooms for a wedding, nice hotel, more like a motel. All 3 rooms together and booked 1 for early check-in though all 3 available. Reported light fixture fault and got the early booking fee refunded. Very helpful staff good value and free WiFi, tasty breakfast.

We knew the hotel had problems with heating before we arrived but it was resolved the next day and didn't cause us any discomfort. From the moment we arrived, everyone was so friendly and helpful. They coped very well in difficult circumstances. Breakfast was great , as was the room.

We have 4 people booked into this hotel currently. 22 Jan for a week. Never again. No central heating and its -5 outside a repair has been promised every day but it has yet to be resolved. noisy fan heaters provided. Bathrooms like iceblocks as the towel rail is fed via the wet system. Reception couldn't be less interested. 3 rooms booked at the Park Hotel (Diss) for next week.

Staff friendly well mannered and attentive, good music and good night. Shame about drunk people causing problems but to be expected with Christmas parties I suppose. Would definitely visit again for pleasure rather than business.

I attended a Christmas party here on Friday night, I just wanted to thank all the staff for making it such an amazing experience. The food was wonderful, I had the roast turkey and it was cooked to perfection. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the decorations in the barn made the whole evening feel very festive. Will definitely come back again!

We had our company Christmas party there tonight at a cost of £35 per head. It was without doubt the worst meal I have had in living memory. My starter of pork terrine was slightly slimy and tasteless. The mains were cold, though the Christmas dinners on the table were microwaved to reheat them on request, my main was a medley of fish with a Thermidor sauce which was dry, overcooked and lukewarm. The so called Thermidor sauce tasted of English mustard and uncooked flour. No vegetables came with this, instead I was told to have the Christmas dinner vegetables with it which were sprouts, parsnips and carrots. The pudding of cheesecake was so small we all thought they had run out and portions had been cut in half. Staff were fairly disinterested and one walked about chewing gum the whole meal. The ladies loos were out of order, which meant a walk across the courtyard in the freezing cold wet evening to the main hotel if you wished to use a loo. Would not recommend and will never return.

We stayed in a Superior room as we got a good deal and it was excellent. The room was clean, shower lovely and facilities good. So peaceful and quiet. Breakfast was amazing as well. Would definitely stay again.

This was the most delapadated places I've had the misfortune to stay,well we didn't stay after seeing the accommodation they tried to put us in,namely one of the grotty chalets outside number 19,be warned steer clear of this chalet, upon entering this hovel, we were met with the dingest of lighting,to cover up the dirty thread bare carpets,the stained head board on the bed,not to mention the decor, 1970,s I would suggest and that goes for the last time I should think it saw a lick of paint! Now for the bathroom,black mould in the corner of bath wall,stained bath,and the heated towel rail,leaking rust at both ends trying to cover it up with a not so white bath towels,which they expected you to use,again this bathroom is in dire need of up dating to the 21 century and not the 20th,needless to say we were out of that place,only to be offered the dump next to it number 20,I dont think so,refund please.i have stayed in better bed and breakfasts than this place a lot better,so if you want a 1970s themed stay with grot appeal then stay at one of the brome Grange chalets you will love it.

Two night stay for a family wedding elsewhere. Very tired room with poor decorative condition throughout. Flat batteries in tv remote. Stained carpet. No doormat for outside room. Back to front taps on basin. Damaged mirrors. Stained nets. Single glazed. We didn't complain but doubt our concerns could have been met instantly.

Online photos were very impressive. Reality very disappointing my employees refuse to stay there again. Food was very poor Room door been badley repaired after forced entry at some point Carpet was old and dirty Shower was leaking and poorly fitted

We stayed this week with two other couples for a two night bed and breakfast dinner one night plus bottle of wine and found the hotel great value for money. Yes, there were a few shortcomings but overall the food was very good. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly, especially Heather from housekeeping who went out of her way to help us. A smile gives a long way to improve any negativity. It was an ideal position to explore places around especially, Wyken Vineyards and The Nutshell at Bury St Edmunds. An enjoyable stay.

Very well looked after, room was lovely, food excellent. Fantastic value for money with the VIP offer. View from superior room overlooked fields. Room was quiet and spacious. Canapés and prosecco were tasty. 5 course meal was very pleasant.

Very dated and dull rooms, not worth the money at all. Shower was warm at most, carpet stained, full lighting, intermittent internet, ev points not working, food was lovely and staff were great but that's about it.

A friendly place to stay, large refurbished courtyard rooms with new en suite facilities. Food was excellent and despite staffing levels being a little stretched at times we were always well taken care of. A special mention must go to Jonathan who manfully ran the bar and restaurant by himself one night with a smile and attention to detail that was very impressive. A great spot for visiting nearby places of interest, especially Bury St Edmunds and we found the perfect old inn, The Four Horseshoes, nearby for a lovely lunch. To a person everyone we met couldn't do enough for us, Thanks for a great little break, even the weather was sunny and warm.

Nice hotel. Good location, good food and drink. When we discovered a serious problem with the bath/shower in room 19, the receptionist said that we could use the facilities in a previous room we had stayed in.

What a fantastic week. I was on a coach trip and stayed here Monday to Friday. Sometimes coach parties are not treated the same as other guests. Not here, the rooms are fantastic. Large with lots of storage. Tea coffee and biscuits replaced daily. The food was brilliant. We had 3 courses and 3 choices of each course. All was five star quality. Breakfast was self serve but also had a cooked menu which had everything you could want. Every single member of staff we met could not do enough to help. I highly recommend this hotel.

Have had several short breaks over the past couple of years and this was the worst by far. Both beds in our room were VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. Toilet seat moved around alarmingly. Room needed a lamp on the desk. NO HEADBOARD!!!! Good curtains but large gap above them meant the sunlight came in too much early in the morning. room looked NOTHING like the sample room photo for a standard room. Felt like we had been given a sub-standard alternative Evening meal was good quality when it eventually arrived but both orders were first totally wrong (tofu instead of chicken for partner and a side salad (lettuce, sliced tomato and a few slices of onion with no dressing) instead of hot vegetable's - and that was ages after my fish arrived) Hot breakfast were good as cooked to order but ran out of continental type food very early and never enough spoons, bowls or milk to be found. More like a motel than a hotel. Overall very disappointing

The food in the hotel restaurant was second to none, the steak you could have cut with a spoon, it was so tender. Tempura veggies were great and so many of them. We also had a chicken dish with a mushroom and bacon sauce and sea bass- all fabulous. Thank you chef

Afternoon tea, called twice to book and confirm, both occasions reception polite and helpful. On the day reception helpful and shown to our table immediately by the polite waitress. Table was clean and smart, cloth napkins and good cutlery. Tea for two brought over swiftly, good selection of sandwiches freshly cut, freshly baked scones were tasty with clotted cream and a choice of jams. Carrot cake, almond slice and lemon drizzle fresh and tasty. Nice air conditioned dinning room. Toilets clean. A very nice experience, the old part of the building is delightful. Thank you to all staff.

I have mobility issues but the room was well laid out so this was not a problem. The room was nice and quiet but we were away from the main road. We had dinner and breakfast in the hotel and the food was lovely and the service was very good. Only one downside the bed was small.

We booked 1 night as attending a wedding reception near by. We were allocated room 1 which was a family room. Plenty of space for the double and separate single bed. The room is in need of refurbishment. Furniture is mismatched and decoration is very poor, however the room was clean, lovely clean bed linen and really comfy bed and pillows. Great nights sleep. Lots of tea and coffee in the room, iron/board etc. The bathroom again needs refurbishment (lots of limescale) but again clean and powerful shower and lovely clean towels. We want to compliment the staff. Check in very efficient and welcoming, but especially wanted to mention the young man doing breakfast on Sunday morning. He was virtually doing breakfast alone and he worked so hard to see to everyone's needs. Not sure I could have managed as well as he did. Thank you for your brilliant customer care. The hotel is definitely in need of refurb but the industry is post covid so maybe this has impacted work that is needed, but everything in the room was clean and comfortable. We would stay again.

Hotel in real need of an upgrade. Tired, neglected with some shocking features you would have thought would be sorted as they are so obvious and bad. One bathroom had a rotting bath panel, the shower screen leaked and the radiator was rusty. I couldn't have stayed in there. For £100 it wasn't good enough.

Stayed 2 nights in midweek. and it was very busy due to two large coach parties already in attendance. We booked in and went to the room and then went to the bar and restaurant to unwind. All of the staff were lovely, very helpful 10 / 10 all round. We has breakfast and dinner there to, and it was superb. The room we had overlooked the front of the building and sadly is only about 35 feet from the main roads, so we had heavy traffic 24 hours a day thundering past, big trucks actually shake the building, and also the noise is horrendous with windows open Would i stay again. Yes, but not in room 40 or 41

got to hotel checked in got to room walked in to room very basic ripped carpet in hall way plaster missing on wall under window cill not been cleaned holes in wall were pictures was hanging went in to bathroom needed up dating lifted toilet seat with a unflushed toilet service at dinner was very poor was not organized very slow service some food under cooked all facilates was not in use swimming was advertised but no pool very miss underled all tho some of the staff tried to make us welcome it got a bit better towards the end off week but still very disapointed .

We had a lovely 2 night break here. General manager was amazing and all staff very helpful. Room was amazing. Jacuzzi in room and 4 poster bed. Room character very much in keeping with the period.Amenities great.

i originally approached the brome grange looking for rooms for my family for my wife's funeral. Not realizing the barn was on site to hold the wake. We then had everything here on site, 30+ family members staying for multiple nights. The staff were fantastic and couldn't do enough to help and my young daughter at this hard time in our lives.

Most staff are very friendly and welcoming. When we stayed the spa facilities were not open however this was not communicated prior to arrival/booking. If we had known, we would have not have booked to stay here. I really feel this should have been clearly stated throughout the booking process and on the website. A heads up would have been great! Bed was uncomfortable, just 2 single beds pushed together, paint peeling off in the bathroom, cabinet falling apart, shower leaks onto the bathroom floor. I believe they are going through a much needed refurbishment at the moment. There is not a lot else to do other than sit in the tiny bar. Very disappointing visit, however I highly recommend the Oaksmere which is across the road

We were lucky enough to be upgraded to the Brome suite opposite the Tythe Barn. During our three day stay there were no functions at the barn so we did not have the noise previous people have commented on. The room is large with a four poster bed, and a really lovely jacuzzi. Yes the room is underlit but I assume that is to make it more romantic if used by a bride and groom. The bed was comfortable. It is only a three star hotel but what it lacks in finesse the friendly staff more than make up for. The meals were nice and the staff tried there best to serve us as quickly as possible as well as tend to a coach party that were staying. I was particularly impressed with the attention that we received from the Reception staff and our Cleaner. The bar area consists of several areas including an outside area and is a pleasant place to sit in the evening. Staying at this hotel with its free easy to park car park made our break extremely pleasant.

This hotel and function room are amazing. The wedding celebratory room is stunning, with lots of original beams and special features. The food too was great, I myself am a GF vegetarian and they were so accommodating. The hotel rooms were clean, quiet and had everything we needed. Breakfast the next morning was superb - so much choice. Will definitely be returning. Thank you to all of the staff on 16 July.

We were given a room opposite the function room. There was a function both nights we stayed with the disco until midnight each night. It was so loud that even our bed and pillows were vibrating. People were outside our room drinking laughing and smoking all evening and children were running round and shrieking all evening. When we asked for a different room after the first night we were told they were sorry but there was noting they could do as the hotel was full. Ruined our weekend away.

The hotel seems to be more a series of chalet style rooms with a central reception and dining area. We did not stay at this hotel, but it was just around the corner from where we were for 5 nights. We found the food to be very good, and the staff attentive.

We stayed at Brome Grange for 1 night on the Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend for a relaxing break with our dog. The room was spacious, quiet and clean. The receptionist was very friendly. Breakfast was delicious. It is fairly close to The Suffolk Coastline whereby we enjoyed a day out. We would definitely recommend. Thank you Best Western.

Arrived for a 3 night stay to explore area with our car club Arrival was very positive and staff very helpful The room was very comfortable and food was excellent Unfortunately we had car problems and had to end our trip on day 2 Robert and the rest of the staff were very kind and helpful

We had our wedding switched to this venue as the original venue could no longer host our wedding day.... and oh my goodness are we now so very glad of that. From our first viewing we absolutely fell in love with the place... especially Tithe Barn. From the time we arrived on the Friday, Lynne was there as welcoming as ever (such a lovely lady) and nothing was too much trouble. She made suggestions in the planning stage which we took on board, made all of our wedding party so very welcome and was there on the day hosting and guiding... which so helped us just sail through the day with no hitches and surprisingly... no nerves..lol The barn was the most perfect setting for our ceremony as well as our evening reception. Everyone of our guests has commented on what an amazing day and evening it was. Big shout out to the young lad who was with Lynne over the weekend... I believe he was a new employee... he was brilliant.. so helpful and always with a smile on his face... everyone remembers him.. he really did work hard... a huge thank you to him and Lynne... x

I would never book again been waiting over a month for a refund. Booked for a wedding didn't get into the room until 45 minutes late. Shower was broken, they tried to fix it to no avail. Bodged it with a clip that sent water all over the bathroom even over to the mirror and I was fully clothed to get the temperature correct. Had to slam the door shut, strip off and open the door to turn off…so no shower. Managed to wash my hair only to find out the hair dryer didn't work. Room was cold only for 2 am for the heating to kick in and we couldn't sleep! We upgraded and our room and bed was way smaller than the room we had booked for my mother and father in law! Broken tiles in bathroom. The toilet was running water all night and day even when not in use and noisy.

Loved it, my room was clean and comfortable and the staff were all really helpful! Our food and drinks were good. Everything was as we hoped. Reception was particularly helpful and helped us with directions to Diss & nothing was too much! Thank you so much Chloe & Jonathan

Staff are friendly, polite and professional. We had breakfast and an evening meal, food was superb and value for money. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Would recommend to anyone and will be back for another visit.

Room was in a pretty poor state, smoke alarm flashing all night above the bed, wonky shower head, toilet that didn't flush just ran water through day and night, as per previous review there were flies everywhere. Evening meal was good, breakfast not so good, no option for vegetarian sausage. Thank god only booked for one night.

Wow where do I start . We booked a premier room payed extra a was given a cupboard with a window . Evening payed a lot of money for not very good food a we could not believe how many flies . Second night my wife got food poisoning salmon sandwich a loads of flies . My wife was so bad I went down at two am but no one there to get help just water I rang there night line at3and4 no answeri found someone at 6 a she did offer help I think they have got to do more about flies when I was filling in sick forms the lady had two flies on her head sorry for staff

No sauna/spa/plunge pool as advertised. Restaurant closed! Breakfast good and staff very polite and helpful, but lost count of number of apologies for failures in expected facilities. Doesn't help. Not their fault, Higher management mess!

Room was very clean and had all you needed. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and hot. Refills offered and organised efficiently. Would stay again if in the area. Did not try restaurant in evening but menu looked OK

We've just returned from another smashing stay at Brome. Been many times before, and it never disappoints. We visited on bank holiday Sunday, and was warmly greeted as usual by Jonathan. Such a nice guy and always makes us feel at home ( hope you got the oil of cloves Jonathan !) We started our visit with afternoon tea which was tasty., and set the mood for a relaxing time. We also had the pleasure to meet Lynne the hotel manager, who was also so very welcoming.( We do so hope you're recovered from your previous accident too now Lynne). After our afternoon tea, we relaxed in our usual lovely room until enjoying dinner in the hotel lounge. Next mornings breakfast was buffet style this time which suited us so well rather than made to order, as the selection of both cooked, and continental options were very good, with quality offerings all around. ( A mention too to the cheerful young lady server who was on both dinner shift and next day breakfast shift). After a hearty breakfast to set us up for our return journey home, we were greeted by Aimie on reception who asked that everything had been fine during our stay. We had a lovely time all round as we always do when staying here. The cheerful staff, food/drink and surroundings make for a welcome battery recharger and was just the job. We book this hotel as we were goin to a funeral we had a lovely stay.the staff were very friendly especially Josie she went above & beyond to help us she really made us feel at home. Thank you so much Josie Nuala,Noeleen & Thomas x

Me and my partner stayed on a Dinner, bed & breakfast deal midweek. Great check in, the girl was very helpful & friendly. Room was well equipped with nessessary tea/coffees, toiletries etc. (we stayed in room 36). The bed was lovely and big & extra pillows available in the wardrobe. Went down for dinner and were offered the bar or restaurant, we opted for restaurant. Our two servers were excellent and knowledgeable. We ate the calamari & potato skins to start. Sirloin steak (cooked to perfection) & the chicken burger. We also shared a bakewell tart. All meals were great, I highly recommended eating here whilst staying!! Our room was right next to the road and a little noisy but we were able to sleep through with the window closed (I'm a light sleeper). We had a great comfortable sleep and lovely hot breakfast. Thank you for a great stay, we'll be back for the afternoon tea!

We stayed 3 nights on a Bed, Breakfast and Evening Meal basis in order to visit the coast, R.S.P.B. Minsmere and local towns and generally relax. All staff without exception were professional, helpful and welcoming. Our external courtyard room was quiet, warm, clean and with a large (2 singles pushed together) comfortable bed and a wall mounted TV. Tea, coffee and biscuits were replenished daily. The bathroom needs updating but was clean with large soft towels and the over bath shower was powerful with constant hot water. It seems that the rooms are gradually being refurbished which is needed. The meal quality was very good although the evening menu is a little limited. We enjoyed every meal and think the chef does an excellent job. Breakfasts were very good with a healthy choice of freshly made fruit salad, juices, fruits, cereals, yoghurts, pastries etc followed by a choice of cooked breakfasts. Coffee was ok ish but not hot enough. Parking was free and available so I don't understand a previous complaint about having to pay. We were very satisfied with everything taking into account the price we paid and had a very pleasant stay.

Our stay was awful. Rooms were dirty, shabby and smelt dreadful. Very dated, falling apart and generally disappointing. No spa open which was not stated that there was a closure. Breakfast cold and no pastries as apparently they all got burnt.

Friendly staff, breakfast was amazing. The lady who served me was helpful and professional. The room I stayed in was clean and smelt really nice, went down for dinner and ordered steak ( which was cooked exactly like I requested) House keepers were friendly and willing to help. My room was cleaned even during my stay. Comfy bed.. Will definitely be returning

Stopped over on the way to visit family. Was treated by friendly staff. Once checked in the room was amazing and clean. Decide to have dinner at the hotel and was not disappointed at all would defenintly recommend to others if you looking for a night away.

My partner and I stayed for a one night stop over to get a little break. We loved it the staff were outstanding. Very good food. Outside rooms need an update but I was assured they would be done soon, stay before in main building they were very clean and modern

Arrived at the hotel, waited 20 mins at the reception then decided to try and find someone, found two ladies eating food so no one on reception even after ringing the bell four times. I went to my room and it was freezing with lots of flies, the room was a bad state with the bed not made correctly and it was VERY dirty. I ran the shower and water ran under the shower door flooding the toilet. The whole room needs renovation. I went to the bar at night time to get a quick drink, once again no one behind the bar, a comment from someone in the bar said your wait as long as A&E!!

Nice room, BUT that's as good as it gets! First night woken at 1.00am by fire alarm going off. Second night woken FOUR TIMES by fire alarm going off! Second day we lost hot water and heating and were told it was due to a burst pipe. Breakfast on both days was very limited and even run out off the things they were supposed to have. No vegetarian options. Only one person serving. Could not get WIFI.

The hotel needs the rooms what we stayed in given a full update as well as the looks and overall amenities in the hotel and a look into health and safety in regards to current building work at the hotel

I have stayed at this hotel several times , previously in the main building and in superior rooms. Due to late booking the only availability when booking directly with the hotel was a twin standard. It not being chosen on price. Well, what a difference, having never experienced their motel style rooms before what a shock! Chalk and cheese compared to previous stays. Yes, I was expecting a lower grade room but this low, never. Room 12 a is not a room suitable for a three-star hotel, feels more like one star. I arrived at 7.00pm therefore it was dark. The exterior cloister was unlit and it was impossible to locate the keyhole without aid of torch. Stepping inside you are met with frayed carpet. The room is large with a pair of single beds. The furniture is a mismatch of two bedside cabinets, two chest of drawers and a “wardrobe” minus its doors. In the “wardrobe” is full-size ironing board. Which you must remove if you want to hang any clothes. There is no chair or table / desk unit to sit at to enable one to work in room. Only option available is to sit on a bed. Between the beds is a two-plug socket, held to together with tape and a lose cover. Dangerous! At the window is hung a very tired and torn net curtain. Around the room there are various small holes and screws/fixings where I suspect previous pictures/ decorations have been hung. I maybe mistaken but light fittings on ceiling appear to be missing a bulb (style looks like it should have two but only one in each) frosted glass so unsure, making lighting dim. Energy saving fail. I must mention the mirror on the wall which is mounted at such a height it shows your waist. The purpose is unknown. Strange! Investigation of the bathroom does not improve the impression of the room. Extremely dim lighting enhanced by a black painted floor. So dark that impossible to see enough to shave in the evening. Of course, one could switch on mirror light if it had a bulb in it, I suspect the reason it is missing is that it does not work anyway. Bathroom ceiling has been amateurishly repaired in the past with a painted board which has now warped. Combine this with the hole at the other end of the bathroom it creates a lovely ambience. Add in the fact the radiator in bathroom did not seem to be working making a shower in the morning a bit parky. This room isn't tired but exhausted, I can honestly say it is the worst hotel room I have stayed in for the last ten years. The problems with the room are not casual housekeeping fails but long term policy of no maintenance, a clear management decision. On my second night, I went to have a shower in the early evening to find that there was no hot water. Reporting the fact to reception I was informed that the boiler struggles, and the supply of hot water had been drained. Not to worry give it a couple hours and there will be plenty. It was almost my fault that I had an expectation of a hot shower. Note to management, I did ask to move room (twice) but was told nothing else available, got impression I was the last one to book in and was given the room that had been rejected by someone else, as evidenced by reception form indicating originally allocated 113 and manually altered to 12 a.

Requested another room as we were given a room ( Annexe) next to room with a barking dog & builders music blaring out in the car park, we were moved into the main building. The 2nd rooms shower had bad leaking problems, advised front desk & told to put more towels on the floor! Room not serviced/cleaned, just bin emptied & biscuits replaced + extra towels for leaking shower. On leaving we showed the man on the front desk pictures of the shower condition, he said he'd get the Manager to contact us directly, still had no contact from the Management, most disappointing. Poor choice of menu for dinner, poor quality food, we may not be using Best Western again

I got lucky. Best Western hotels come in all sorts, and this one was a pleasant surprise. The room was large, comfortable and clean. But the staff? They're outstanding. Super helpful, pleased to be useful and enjoying their job. Down partly to encouragement from their manager? I think so.

Very convenient for Diss & onward travel, good choice of nearby village pubs for evening meal, excellent buffet breakfast, helpful & friendly staff. Rooms are quiet - away from the main road & function hall. Spacious, recently refurbished motel-style rooms (in block alongside main hotel building), comfortable bed & good walk-in shower. Main original building has attractive & comfy olde worlde bar plus spa/fitness in modern attached extension. Refurbished large rooms now seem a bit under-furnished: large empty areas with no furniture eg dresser or table (as before refurb) to put devices, toiletries, handbags etc - just a tiny tea-table plus bedside drawers. Wardrobe largely occupied by full-size ironing board (why??) a real nuisance when hanging clothes. Don't understand why budget hotels like this don't spend a little money up-front on protective glass tops for their wooden furniture: prolongs furniture life & so saves money & waste; easier to clean; looks good; water-stains look really naff! Although an unprepossessing exterior behind high, mustard-coloured walls, the hotel itself is very good.

An absolutely fantastic stay in this lovely hotel! I loved my room in the courtyard and my huge comfy bed. The shower was powerful. Yes, it could do with a refurb but I think they have started doing that anyway. I've requested the same room for my next stay, refurbed or not as I was very comfortable. I enjoyed two meals in the restaurant. The quality was very good and the staff was super-friendly and efficient. I loved my few days there and am looking forward to my return visits. Thank you to all the staff for their impeccable service.

We spent a mosp pleasant weekend here for a family wedding at the nearby Little Green Barn. The room was spacious and comfortable,the staff were unfailingly cheerful polite and helpful. The full English breakfast was substantial and well cooked.For those preferring a continental breakfast there were many options. The evening meal was also well cooked and presented. I would have no hesitation in revisiting or recommending this hotel.

I have been in better BW hotels. The bathroom in my room was tired and in need of an update. No plug in the sink and was not replaced during my stay. I was informed another nearby hotel offered better amenities at a comparable price.

We returned today from a lovely coastal walk to find that our room had not been cleaned. I reported this to reception and was told that the cleaning staff had left before the receptionist had started her shift. This is only the second time that I have stayed in a Best Western hotel, we will be returning to Premier Inn. When you just want a little cheap breakaway you do expect the basics, which unfortunately this hotel was unable to deliver.

I had read reviews and was really concerned but I needn't have worried. Staff were cheerful and excellent, food was lovely We had a large room, clean and tidy. People could probably pick at little things that need doing around the place, but we had a large comfortable bed, clean and fresh Thank you to the receptionist, the friendly barman, the fab breakfast chef and anyone else we came across who were helpful and cheerful. We had a lovely lovely stay

We had a one night stay here using a voucher deal. The welcome was friendly and because our room wasn't ready, the receptionist gave us a free drink in the bar, that went down well, ended up having a few more though! Rooms spacious and very clean. Had a 'fair' meal in the restaurant, served by the lovely Gillian. Had a good nights sleep, although our room was not too far from the main road, we found it quiet, mind you, I wear ear plugs because of my old mans snoring! Shower quite powerful and lovely white fluffy towels. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. For what we paid, I don't think you could beat it. Thank you guys x

This was another excellent hotel in the Best Western group. The rooms are on the ground floor, ideal for easy access, and car parking was right outside the rooms, (more motel than hotel?) I stay in Best Western hotels whenever I can and I will definitely put this one on my list to re-visit.

Night 1 - no hot water: “We have a disabled toilet with a shower if you would like to use it …..” Comms with the hotel after leaving for work early “Will I have hot water …?” “We'll move you there is a block of 4 rooms without water “ Night 2 - moved rooms, ate in the bar, went to shower …. No hot water!!! “I have no hot water….” “I've boosted the boiler” (same set of excuses / reasons the as the day before) .. “You said there were only 4 rooms affected …” “I don't know who told you that …” I accept issues / problems … lies to guarentee revenue .. outrageous!, This must be the Bedt Western way ….

Stayed here 2 nights on a Wowcher deal and it was well worth it. We were a bit dubious after reading some of the reviews but we loved it. Yes there are parts of the hotel that are tired and dated but obviously they are doing it up as parts had new carpets etc. We stayed in a room at the back which was fabulous. Quiet, clean, bed really comfortable, bathroom small but perfectly ok. Had lovely nights sleep both nights. My downside was: I wanted to book a massage but no one was going to be there til later in the week. Such a shame. Oh and the hot tub was out of action. Lovely selection of food in restaurant, we chose to eat ours in the bar. Mushroom soup was divine. Breakfast good: although would help if staff were on hand to great you and to top things up instead of disappearing in twos in the kitchen. Suffolk breakfast was very tasty. I have to really compliment you on your wonderful staff, so friendly and polite: nothing feels too much trouble. One girl in particular, we didn't get her name but she was off to Canterbury uni and it was her last day, she was housekeeping in the day and then serving in the bar! She said she loved being there and it showed. Well done to you all.

I stayed for a weekend away with my partner for our 35th anniversary. It was an absolutely wonderful experience and would highly recommend. The room we stayed in was very clean and delightful to be in, slept very well furthermore breakfast in the morning was highly applicable and rather delicious compliments to the chef and the breakfast ladies were ever so friendly and very humorous. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be returning.

The hotel had a nice homely feel to it which is great when staying somewhere alone. All staff very friendly and nothing was too much effort. Breakfast was lovely and was very quick service. Will definitely visit again

Tired room, Tired decor not cheap at £95 a night but what you don't expect is a TV that should be on the wall to be on the dressing table just really poor, no pride in the place if you did you would have at least made an effort to put it back. Flaking paint in the shower room and the door to the room I stayed in was filthy and missing stair carpet with underlay still in place which is a trip hazard. I'm writing this whilst sitting in the room have booked breakfast but won't entertain it. Shame on you for thinking that this is OK

Gym and spa was filthy and unkept and the spa area absolutely disgusting. This place is run down and lacks any attempt by the staff to ensure that it is operational for customers. The advertising over states, over rates and in reality, I think it is miss leading and miss selling customers. The owners of this venue seriously need to put some money into it, as it does have the potential to be a nice venue. At the moment though, it fails on all counts.

When we arrived, we were a little disappointed. Thought the outside looked a little tired. The hotel is off a main road and noisy The Lady at the reception was lovely and professional , went to our room which was outside the main building in the courtyard. Also a little tired but clean and had everything we need plus extras like a ironing board. We into the bar and the staff were very friendly. The hot breakfast was freshly cooked to order, very nice. We also had afternoon tea, one of the best we had had.. The credit needs to go to the Staff.

relaxing place after a stressful work day, i got a room at the back of the hotel and it is so quiet, best night sleep i have had in a hotel. outside of hotel was very nice and clean and welcoming. staff were lovely, Lynne checked me in and was excellent and answered all my questions very nice lady. The gentleman in the bar was great and served dinner very quickly with a most welcome pint. great hot breakfast this morning and girls were lovely. this hotel is very clean and well maintained and my room is very clean

Main area not welcoming, dirty stained carpet. The room we were staying In wasn't cleaned properly during change over. Carpet is dirty, still have hairs in shower room and chair. Window sills have a layers of dust plus cob webs! Also cod webs around the room and thick layer of dust on heating/ water pipes on floor level. One of the used toilet rolls have a dab of what looks like faeces or blood on it! Leather settles stinks of body odours. On the plus side, cooked breakfast was good . All the staff we spoke to were obliging and helpful.

I stayed the night of Friday 13th ready for a wedding the following day. On a positive note the staff were friendly and helpful and the room and linen were very clean. The decor was tired and the air freshener overpowering. I had no plug for the bath but I'm sure if I'd have asked I would have been given one. Breakfast was poor, tea served out of urns rather than individual pots which made it lukewarm and unpalatable. My breakfast came with hard, greasy eggs. My hash browns were undercooked. Black pudding was on the menu but they didn't have any. Sadly I did not eat it.

Booked 2 superior rooms for our family with breakfast included.We had a wonderful time, hotel is clean, food is lovely and staff super friendly.We also had afternoon tea we absolutely loved.Everything was perfect.We would definitely come back again.

We arrived on Friday for a wedding which was to be held nearby the following day. We had booked two rooms, a twin room and a single room. When we were shown to the twin room it had a double bed in it and as we were friends staying, not a couple, we asked to be moved to a twin room which the receptionist duly did. We also asked if they could book us a taxi for the following evening for five people or two taxis for two people and three people. We were met with a response from the receptionist, “you'll be lucky! “ When we checked into our new room, I immediately phoned reception and asked again if they could book us a taxi for midnight the following evening. The receptionist said yes of course she would do it then. My friend who had the single room, which was no bigger than a broom cupboard, then reported that her toilet would not flush at all and the receptionist said that she would arrange for maintenance to come and look at it and if they could not do it, one of the other staff members in the hotel would be able to have a look as apparently it was faulty as it happened before. We went out to dinner that evening and when we returned, her toilet still had not been fixed. It was again reported the next morning and luckily she was able to use our bathroom and they said they would fix it while we were at the wedding. They asked her if she wished to change rooms but time was tight as we had to get to the wedding so she said as long as it could be fixed she would stay put. I asked at reception that morning if one or two taxis had been booked for us. The receptionist was very short with us, and said that it hadn't been done and she'd do it in a minute. I pointed out that I had asked for this to be booked the evening before as taxis were short and she said it wasn't her fault as she wasn't there perhaps the staff were busy in the evening and hadn't got round to it. When we came back from a meal the evening before they were staff in the office and sitting on reception who were not busy. She eventually managed to book 2 taxis for us, one at 10:45 and another at 11 so we had to leave the wedding early. The remote control for our television it did not work so we took it to reception where they changed the batteries but it still did not work so they had to give us a second about control. The furniture in the bedroom was mismatched, the room was very dark and the bathroom had seen better days. Our friend who had the second room, the one with the nonworking toilet had a novel draft excluder against the bathroom window, kitchen roll! Her room was very small but she said the bed was comfortable but it was not really acceptable for the price we paid. I know that this is a cheap hotel but there is no excuse for rude staff or shoddy maintenance. Having said that, a big round of applause for the chef because breakfast both days was very good. Unfortunately this is the only plus for this venue.

Currently sat in room 18 ! I have a dog which I'm paying £10 for this stay with us too . Room is old, tired , mouldy and houses nothing of any quality . Junk shop pictures and furniture and nothing co-ordinated or matching .., is this the storage room converted for us tonight because we have a dog with us ? Bathroom is dire … only thing of any quality are good towels .. bath sealant vile .., won't be using it . Just because we have a pet shouldn't mean we get the worst room in the hotel ? My own home is of far higher standard, even with a dog in it and is certainly more tasteful! Glad to be checking out tomorrow and won't return . Shame, as it could be a great place as staff are very good , food satisfactory, building has immense character outside but courtyard rooms shouldn't be used until updated if they're all like this one . Well below any Star standard .

Stayed in a room in the area called the courtyard. I was really impressed with the quality, the cleanliness and the attentiveness of the staff. My light bulb stopped working and was replaced within minutes. Also had a meal in the restaurant and I was not sure what the portion size would be as we had an early table but it was absolutely amazing! Exceptionally tasty too. This place is definitely a hidden gem. Will be back.

We had booked afternoon tea at the Brome Grange with Groupon. Their marketing states that it's a tranquil setting but it's situated right next to a very busy stretch of the A140, frequented by HGVs. The outside seating area isn't, as presented by the photograph on Groupon, on a stretch of lawn, but instead on the opposite side of a wall separating the hotel from the busy road, very noisy. Tables had been left uncleared and uncleaned, with the leftovers, crockery and cutlery from previous guests. The staff were inexperienced and clearly untrained, a reflection on Best Western and the management rather than the staff themselves. For the duration of the meal there was no check back, no request to have our drinks replenished, no member of staff in sight. If we wanted something we had to go looking for a staff membe. It appeared there was only one young lady on duty, apart from the “chef”. The sandwiches were just awful, half assed, dry and lacking filling. The scones heavy, stodgy and flat. The sausage rolls were lovely though, as were the pastries. A disappointing experience, mainly due to the lack of service and poor/non existent training of staff. We felt like we were unwanted guests. There was no soap in the toilets, no towels and the hand driers didn't work. Considering the risk of Covid I would have thought this was primary, as much as cleaning tables after guests had left. I wanted to write a review for the hotel to see. Perhaps it will plant a seed for change. Ito very frustrating to visit these kind of establishments, of which there are many, that seem to be struggling to make ends meet and can't see, for themselves, why. It's quite simple really. Good quality and effective staff training, teamwork, clean areas, good food. Full hands in, full hands out (of the kitchen and restaurant). There's never any need for a member of staff to leave the room empty handed, if there's a table to be cleared. If you focus on the areas that need attention - providing a pleasurable experience for your guests - you wouldn't need to resort to Groupon offers. People would flock to you for great service and good food.

Great little hotel with easy access to all areas. Loved the bar has great character and a feel about it would loved to have a group of friend with me as we would have had a great time here. I got to meet the Manger Lynn what a wonderful person she is nothing was to much trouble. In the morning we had an amazing breakfast. Will be looking forward to return very soon.

Stayed in large room and was good. Clean and nice smelling bathroom. Can hear traffic though but that isn't the hotel's fault. Room also needs just a lick of paint here and there. Breakfast was good and had buffet. The breakfast lady, Kara, made sure only a few people went up to the buffet at a time, so we had to wait but we were glad it was still covid friendly. She even recommended places for us to go and seemed to know the area really well, which was good. The other lady, I forgot her name, was very kind and served our breakfast quickly. Overall, good stay and a very good breakfast, with extra portions!!

The Brome Suite- AKA The Bridal Suite We arrived at the BW Brome Grange Hotel for a 4 night stay tired and weary after a 300 mile road journey only to find our room was more tired than we were. The room is very dark so you need the lights on all the time. When we arrived five of the light bulbs were not working which we reported and the following day the hotel replaced two bulbs and the other faulty bulbs would need further investigation - they have known this since May when it was reported in an earlier review by Angus7274 The room is on the ground floor and the only window opens out into the courtyard so you need to leave the curtains closed, a standard lamp behind the sofa would throw light into the room but I guess that might also emphasise how bad the room is. It was at this time we found out that the hotel didn't have any shampoo as they had run out all they had was body wash. Each morning we asked for shampoo but it was still on order – it never did arrive. We got back to the hotel on the second evening around 5.30 pm to find our room had not been serviced (we had hung the “please service my room” card on the outside of the door when we left the hotel at 9.30). We reported to reception who informed us there was nothing they could do as all the housekeeping staff have gone home. They gave us a couple of towels and we had to make our own bed. Obviously it's beneath the management to take care of their guests and make a bed and change a few towels. We had breakfast on all four mornings we were there; the menu was very good with plenty of choices. We tried different items and they were all fine. On the third morning we ordered four slices of toast only to be given one small pat of butter, the smallest you have ever seen. The waitress informed us they had run out of butter and that was all we could have, when we asked if they had any spread they managed to find some flora. Other guests in the breakfast room were not too impressed either. The two waitresses at breakfast were both friendly and jolly and were most helpful and the service was quick. As commented on in previous reviews the road noise is a problem which is not helped by the gap around the bedroom door (see Photos). The sofa needs replacing and the bed providing you don't move and just lie still all night is fine, again that had been reported by Angus7274 back in May. We did not eat in the restaurant in the evening so we can't comment on that One last comment if a new spouse of mine took me there for our Wedding night I would be filing for divorce the next day!

We arrived on Wednesday 14th July 2021 and were given Room 20 which is outside. The bedroom itself was ok but on entering the bathroom we could not believe the state of it, not fit for an animal! First of all the radiator was red hot and could not be turned off, the tap in the bath was dripping continuously and there were 2 spot lights and only one was working. We contacted reception and they said it would be sorted, nothing was done we contacted them again the next day and was told the same, when asked if we could change rooms we were told by the General Manger none were available. On the Saturday we were so fed up with nothing being sorted, we contacted Head Office who were very helpful and said the room should not have been allocated to anyone. They spoke to a reception guy and told him to get it sorted but still nothing was done, it was a joke as the cleaning staff knew all about this room. In fact, we took photos and when we looked at Tripadvisor there were the same photos that had been taken 3 years ago, so that says it all, they just want peoples money and do not care about the rooms they are given. They need to focus on customer care at the hotel. Head Office said to ask for a refund and we were given half the money back and a free meal, but this did not make up for all the stress that this caused us, you do not expect to go on holiday and dread going back to the room. We left today, Sunday 18th July and we had to have a quick cold shower and get out of the bathroom as the radiator was red hot. We have been to many hotels, b&bs and holiday camps but have never seen anything like it even the YMCA would be better. Another odd thing was they do not provide tumblers in the bathroom, when I asked reception they said they do not do it. The food was of a good quality, the afternoon tea was very good. Although at Breakfast Fresh fruit salad was on the menu, it was unavailable on 2 mornings.

This was a cheap and cheerful hotel - you get what you pay for. We moved rooms. The first one was right over the kitchen, with the extractor fan running under our window. It was facing the busy road. The lovely receptionist moved us without a fuss and they even brought our cases down. Be aware, there are some rooms not accessible by the lift. and the lift doesn't always work. The television didn't work in the second room. Apparently the TVs get messed about with quite a lot. It, and the loo seat, were fixed the next morning. The food was not bad at all. We stayed for dinner two nights and breakfast on the three mornings. There was plenty of choices for breakfast. I can recommend the omelettes. One waitress - she will know who she is - was particularly friendly and cheerful. They worked very hard because we had to sit still and they had to run and fetch everything for us. They did seem to run out of things quite regularly: beer on the night of the Euro semi-final; eggs one morning; a couple of other things I can't remember. But someone commented they were desperately short of staff and that did seem to be the case. They all worked very hard and were quite charming.

Really wonderful, friendly service. We were a large group of middle aged boozy men who would have been at Le Mans but Covid meant that we couldn't go, so we came here. Our hosts, from the manageress on through to the barman and the ladies at breakfast were cheerful and accommodating and made us feel very welcome despite the noise we made in the bar. OK, this isn't the Dorchester, and the rooms were sort of dated, and the restaurant food was fine without endangering the Michelin guide people, but we loved it here. We stayed three nights, ate at the hotel restaurant for two of those and gave the bar a severe hiding and we were amazed at check out how low the bill was. We all had a really nice time and the people here were simply lovely.

Room was clean and breakfast was delicious. Extra portions were given and plate was hot which was good. Reception and breakfast staff were lovely, particularly the one with ribbon in hair. Very chatty and served breakfast to me quickly.

Popped in on the off chance of getting a breakfast on a busy Sunday. There looked like there was an old car rally/festival going on. We were welcomed to breakfast and made space for even though breakfast was nearly finished. The servers were welcoming and let us make changes to our breakfasts. All the staff seemed busy and were very friendly, especially the breakfast girls.

Had a breakfast this morning and was very good. Big portions and lovely mushrooms. The breakfast staff, Chloe and Tikira, were lovely girls and couldn't be more helpful. Continental goods were served and we weren't able to get them due to Covid which was good.

I stayed for one night as it was close to work and I had been travelling the day before. The breakfast staff were lovely. The young one was extremely bubbly for an early morning but it was refreshing instead of seeing tired staff. The room was very clean also. Will come again.

We booked a special deal which meant the price was ridiculously cheap. The plus points, room was comfortable and well furnished. The food available at breakfast was good. The service at breakfast was hit and miss and very disorganised, with little attention to covid 19 rules. The shower control was defective but just useable. The wi-fi signal was strong and available where ever we were in the hotel.

Stayed in a room that can only be described as fit to be a store room. Was poorly insulated, so could hear all traffic noise, the bed vibrated when lorries passed. Dark, dirty and uninviting. We stayed out late to avoid going back to our cell!

Had a few days away with friends celebrating their 50th wedding Anniversary 28th -1st July. Rooms clean but because of COVID no housekeeping, you replenished you tea coffee at reception and made your own beds that was fine but I think it was because they were short of staff, first day at breakfast nots so good! Let's just say the bread was not fresh! But the staff were good and was quite horrified after that it went smoothly all the staff were quite helpful .and because of the shortage of staff worked long hours, on Tuesday when England &Germany were on we sat in the bar, Cameron one of the bar staff could not have been more helpful nothing was too much trouble so all in all we had a good stay.

Had this booked for a while as got a good price on booking.com for a suite. Easy parking and check in was simple. Our room was a short walk from reception towards the main road, the brome suite. I know that the room was designed to look old with all the beams and 4 poster bed but it was very tired and dark. Absolute pet hate of ours in rooms is light bulbs out, no excuse for this, 4 out in total. Didn't use the jacuzzi bath so cannot comment on how that all worked. It was tucked away behind privacy glass which to us was absolutely pointless. Found the double shower heads in the walk in shower fantastic, plenty of pressure with both working and controllable temperatures even tho other reviews says it wasn't when they used it. We also shared the bathroom with 2 large spiders in there webs so don't know what the cleaner had been doing but that didn't bother us it was more the fact that you can pay a lot of money for these rooms and at least expect them to be clean. The sofa in desperate need of replacement. Window to small courtyard garden with rattan furniture accessible via corridor in main hotel. Had some bar snacks and drinks in the evening which were lovely and very good prices. It then came to bed time but not sleep time. A bit of road noise especially from 5am onwards as it is on the a140. Do not make the mistake like we did and not check the bed till late. The mattress not very thick so when either of us moved the bed creaked terribly. Found in the morning that 3-4 bed slats are weak and bend and creak. We considered asking for another room but didn't want to pack our stuff up for just another night so thought we would deal in our own way. We heaved the mattress and bedding on the floor as there's room and had a much better night. First morning cooked breakfast overcooked and not great. Second morning spot on so inconsistent. When we checked out we told reception about our issue with the bed and was told there is a new mattress on order and the bed would be looked at, don't know if that's true or not, customer's as I know are told lots of things to try and keep the peace. Overall an ok stay but would have been disappointed and would have probably complained more had we of paid the full price. We would probably give it another go in a lower room grade as we like the area and use it as a base.

Perfect for exploring Norfolk area. Clean room albeit slightly tired, the restaurant was excellent with good and plentiful food. Shame the gardens weren't cleaner and tidier, sunny weather but couldn't sit out as only one umbrella. Would enhance the place so much if it was cleaner and tidier! Staff excellent as was the massage in the spa.

We stayed for one night in an Executive double room on the first floor. The room was large clean and quiet. The bed was extremely comfortable. We ate our evening meal in the hotel. The service was attentive and the meal portions were large & tasty. We would recommend staying and eating here.

Booked in for a massage with JP - best massage ever (I admit I momentarily fell asleep!!) - very relaxing and just what I needed! Body felt rejuvenated! Highly recommend and service was fantastic - will be back!

The staff were amazing on front desk, she explained the procedure for breakfast and dinner as well as were everything is. The room was clean with ample tea and coffee. Breakfast was fast and efficient with plenty of choice. The hotel is slightly tired and needing a lick of paint but this didn't affect my stay.

I stayed for 1 night, it was my son's wedding, I had a wonderful day and evening, I would highly recommend this hotel for a wedding venue, the day ran smoothly,all the staff were friendly and approachable, they did their jobs extremely well, the room I stayed in was spotless and very nice, breakfast was excellent, I would not hesitate booking another stay.

What a great hotel, excellent staff, lovely grounds and super clean bedroom and bathroom. Great breakfast with welcoming girls serving and hot plates which I always think is important. Sadly arrived late and had already had dinner. WiFi was good for my conference call and very happy with my stay

I stayed in a room in the eaves of a cottage on a hot night, with no air conditioning. The curtains on the windows were broken and with the windows open to try to cool down, you hear noise from the room below, terrible traffic noise and the room shaking as traffic sped by throughout the night.

This hotel is a lovely stop over while seeing family within the area. The staff will do anything to improve your stay. Breakfast is lovely and relaxed with plenty of choice, the room was lovely and clean had everything I needed during my stay. I asked for extra towels with the receptionist which I received instantly.

Me and my family stayed at this hotel and it was a delight! The beds were made perfectly and looked so neat, that we didn't want to ruin them! The reception staff were lovely and made us feel so welcome. I think one was called Isobel! We also saw a few housekeepers who kindly asked if we needed any extra coffees ect and stayed for a lovely chat. Nina and tikara ( I think ) were so kind and it didn't go unnoticed ! The breakfast the next morning was just what we needed to start off our day travelling ! Would highly recommend!

I stayed in a superior room which was very clean and hygienic. The bathroom was nice and the room it self was just spotless, when i came down to the reception the staff there was polite. the friendly housekeeper found me a fan & brought it up to my room. i stayed here for a few days as was visiting family. would highly recommend :-)

a very lovely hotel , some of the decor is looking a bit dated but that does not affect the stay as the staff are fantastic and really look after you. i had no issues with service or food that some other guests seem to have had .

This hotel was a big let down a family member brought me and the wife a buy a gift voucher so we looked at hotels and thus looked nice also with a spa. So prior to our stay we phoned about 3 times to try and book spa treatments each time being told someone will call us back to arrange it no one called us at all. When we arrived at hotel got to reception and no staff was there we waited with our cases about 20 mins. Our room was ok, bed very comfy. There was a big crack in wall. toilet leaked. In welcome book it says bar is open pretty much all day went to bar no staff waited for someone to serve us we waited 40 mins and there was another lady waiting with us. They are clearly under staffed. Meal time I had classic fish and chips, fish was nice, chips not cooked (hard). Also went to check out and bear in mind we had already paid for room with buy a gift voucher they tried to charge us again. What was ment to be a nice relaxing couple of days break was a stressful one.

I stayed in room 8 and it was awful. I reserved a standard double but what I got looked nothing like the photos on their website and I can only presume that as I arrived late evening I got the room no one wanted. The room had a damp musty smell. The furniture was old and cracked and the tv would often turn itself down whilst you were watching it. The bathroom was even worse. Cracked tiles, broken bath panel, crusty stains in the bath. There was also no hot water for 2 days and I had to have lukewarm showers. I spoke to two different staff members about the situation and asked to change rooms. Both were helpful but couldn't do anything about it. Also £12 for a full English breakfast is too expensive it doesn't even cost that much in a London cafe.

Let's start by saying this hotel rates itself as a 4 star, after our stay this weekend it's at best a 3 star We arrived on Friday evening and checked in, enquired about our pre-booked and confirmed reserved parking to be told that it had gone but we could park in the ghost space out the front. We were then given information regarding the hotel, times and location of the restaurant in which we booked a table, importantly we were told breakfast ended at 9.30am tomorrow, please remember that. We went up to our room and opened the door to our "superior" room and were totally unimpressed, if this was superior I would hate to see a standard room, there was a crack which went half way up the left hand wall and nearly all the way across the ceiling, curtains had stains on them, tea stains on the wall and skirting next to the desk and cobwebs behind the bathroom door. We then went for our meal Very limited menu but food was good, things seemed to be getting better so retired to the bar for a drink and chat with a nice lady who was working behind it Next morning, I'm up first so jumped into the shower, turned on the water which was barely warm and raised the shower head which immediately returned to the bottom but carried on by holding it up, by the time id finished the water was now cold so left it for a while to see if it warmed up for the wife to shower but no joy so got dressed and made my to reception to report it. The lady in reception went to investigate and returned to tell me that one of the newly fitted boilers had failed but she had put the immersion on which would give us hot water some time soon. As it was now getting on i asked that as breakfast finished at 9.30, it was now 8.30, would we be still able to get breakfast, of course she replied, it doesn't finish till 10.30 at the weekend, miss information from reception previous day Get to restaurant at 9.35, sat down and ordered some coffee and tea, it was very quiet with only two or three other couples in there so then ordered our breakfast at 9.40 and so our wait began, when we noticed that another couple who came in after us had their breakfast served and we were still waiting we asked where ours was, eventually it arrived at 10.15, Went out for the day and when we returned around 5pm we enquired at reception whether the hot water problem had been resolved, the man on reception said that the immersion had been put on but it can take a while for the hot water to get to our room specially if were busy, not the answer i was really looking for, did nothing to allay my fears of another cold shower.. Went out for a meal and on our return my wife went to get a couple of paper cups and some milk from the bar, she waited near the kitchen and watched the "chef" plating up meals, he put the first piece of meat on the plate with his right hand, licked his fingers and wiped them down his trousers, plated the second piece of meat with his left then proceeded to use his right again, not very hygienic! Luckily for us this morning the hot water was there so problem solved but the shower head still would not stay up, we went for breakfast , tea and coffee ordered, then breakfast ordered, in the meantime the wife asked for more tea and nearly got the tea over her as the young waitress virtually chucked the tea in her cup but breakfast arrived and waitress left, when i looked at mine there were no eggs so then had to wait for someone to reappear to get my eggs, by the time they arrived I had virtually finished. We then went to our room to collect our cases, when we got out of the lift the cleaning staff were using the wall mounted fire extinguishers to hold the fire doors open! All in all I would not recommend this Hotel, its badly in need of a refurb and some decent trained staff

This was the first hotel my friend and I stayed in following the lifting of lockdown rules for hospitality venues, and it couldn't have been nicer. The room was lovely and clean, as too was the rest of the hotel; the staff were all friendly and helpful and although the hotel is situated next to a busy road (the A140), traffic noise was minimal even during rush hour. We experienced a problem with the temperature of the shower in our room and reported it to a member of staff, who said they would send someone from the maintenance team up to take a look. By the time we arrived back at the hotel that evening, the problem had been fixed completely. We had breakfast both mornings of our two night stay, and both times it was delicious. I opted for a cheese and mushroom omelette both mornings, which was cooked perfectly and - most importantly for me - piping hot! The staff were attentive and because of social distancing rules still in place, were quick to take our orders for items like toast and cereal which were brought to our table promptly. The only small downside I would mention is the heater in the room, which looked very fancy but was a bit of a puzzle to work. When we finally mastered it, we found we couldn't turn down the speed of the fan, meaning it was very loud and couldn't be left on during the night. Luckily the room was a reasonable temperature anyway, so we simply turned it on to 'take the chill' off the room when we first got back from being out for the day. Overall I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in the area. We certainly didn't encounter any of the problems others have reported here and would stay again.

Room poor, menu limited, understandingly, but very "chilli" biased. Reported a problem which was to have been sorted by "housekeeping", never happened. No internet connection at all during our visit. You could feel the springs on one of the beds.

Thank you to all the excellent staff. Customer service was outstanding. Food was delicious, and the cleanliness of the hotel and my room was at a very high standard. COVID standards were also very high protecting guests and I'm sure their staff. Breakfast was delicious hot and good selection. On check out the receptionist was so friendly and helpful as we moved on to our next stay gave us great directions.

Not fit for my dog! Checked in to room 10. Filthy bathroom, carpet and bed. Sticky stuff on carpet, dirty mattresses. Just horrible. Window rotten so bad I could see straight outside. No light in bathroom. Can't believe they have the cheek to let these rooms out, do they have cleaners or room inspections? I guess not! Felt sorry for lady reception. She was very polite and very apologetic, put in an impossible position by manager or owner. I checked out immediately as I couldn't stay in a room that bad, would rather sleep in my car! Avoid, you have been warned.

Lovely welcoming staff at reception, Covid compliance was every visible and a welcoming sight. Lovely menu ( seating outside in the garden area). Garden was well lit with lovely led lights in the evening and a lovely gas heater. Lovely service from the front of house with courtesy checks. Received a hot grab and go breakfast on time with a very nice choice of food. Very clean room with a lovely smell on entry. Highly recommend

I stayed here for 1 night last week due to business. I had a lovely welcome at reception, I definitely cannot fault the lady was very warm and friendly. Check-in was thorough regarding COVID19 regulations. However, I was very disappointed with the room. I understand this is a budget hotel, but cleanliness should be 100% expected, especially during these times. There were small hairs EVERYWHERE! I had to clean the bath, toilet, and sink before using; the bed had stains all over - I actually laid my dressing gown over the top so I didn't have to touch them and could wash it afterward, the carpet was dirty and dust absolutely everywhere. It just isn't what is to be expected when paying money to stay somewhere. I enjoyed the breakfast that was included, this was left outside the bedroom door as to be contactless. Although this hotel is very convenient for me, I will not be staying again.

We were staying here before my father's funeral. I say staying lightly. We arrived from Scotland, weren't asked or told anything about Covid regulations. We were given our room keys, we couldn't find one of the rooms and when we went to reception they didn't know where room 7 was either, not a good start. As soon as I entered my room the smell of stale damp hit me. The room was disgusting, it looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months, small beasties cruelling about. The toilet seat was crispy!!!!!!! We checked out straight away. Don't use this hotel it's vile!!! Less than 1 star.

The grab and go breakfast is a great idea and always delivered on time and hot. The room has a comfortable bed, clean and everything I need. When I requested more coffee the receptionist was more than happy to help. The Mexican food was fantastic! The fajitas in particular were the best I have had. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying for business

Stayed at the brome grange over a long period of time throughout the festive season & during lockdown yes I am a key worker. From my arrival to departure the staff were all amazing, making the stay more pleasurable. Every morning was greeted with a smile and a big hello which is always a good start to the day! all the staff are a credit to the team, very approachable, friendly and professional, will help in every way they can to accommodate to make the stay better, from washing of laundry to delivering food to your room on time. All guidelines followed & felt very secure within the hotel premises all rules adhered to by members of staff and other guests. Room service was second to none always delivered with a smile and on time food was always piping hot! Rooms were cleaned daily beds made and were cleaned to the highest of standards. Food was cooked well portion sizes were good & very filling delicious & definitely what you need when you've been working outside all day. The menu was changed regular with lots of choice and variety to suit all. Plenty of car parking spaces throughout both front and rear of the hotel never had to worry about getting a place as there's plenty for everyone to park. Fantastic hotel, staff, food & facilities available would recommend anyone to stop for both business & pleasure will be stopping here again in future. 5/5 stars.

My partner and i stayed just before Christmas, we were met by a lovely friendly receptionist, we were offered our best western reward points to be added to our account, she ran though the COVID 19 safety measures at the hotel. It was lovely to see hand sanitizer and the track and trace qr code clearly visible. It was explained to us that dinner would be table service and drinks would only be available with a substantial meal. We were advised to reserve a table for dinner, which we did. On arrival down in the lounge bar we were met by a lovely young lady who, showed us to our table, the menus were presented to us in laminated pouches and again hand sanitizer stations were visible as well as signage around the hotel reminding you to keep you distance etc all seems to be above the best western COVID compliance.. we enjoyed a lovely Christmas dinner which was beautifully presented. I asked our waitress what wines were available, I opted for the lavender hill rose, which went very well with the Christmas dinner. Our room was exceptionably clean, with the tea coffee facilities all COVID compliant. The next morning we went down for breakfast, again met by a lovely lady, who showed us to our table. The breakfast crockery was brought over to is in a tray style manor, my partner did comment saying it was very posh. Again the menu was in a laminated pouch. Our breakfast order was taken, we both had the Suffolk grill which was superb. Whilst we were having breakfast the waitress made sure every thing was cleaned down and the lovely aroma was left behind by the disinfectant. All in all we felt very safe and welcomed by the team at brome grange, would highly recommend the hotel for future guests.

It was a lovely night away. The staff were excellent nothing too much trouble! The room was cosy and in the courtyard so no corridors to walk down unless you want to eat. The food was lovely at breakfast and dinner very quick and friendly service from everyone.

I Called At The Last Minute And Was answered by A Lovely Women Named Lynne, Who Not Only Had The Exact size room I needed but she also asked if I needed any special services as a wake up call or breakfast in the morning! Super amazing customer service, amazing staff, and absolutely gorgeous hotel. Food was splendid, will most certainly stay again!!!!

I stayed at brome grange for 4 nights whilst working locally, I can't fault the team in any way. The room was spotless, the staff went above and beyond. Although it was room service, all the food was delivered plated with COVID compliance met. The breakfast was a grab and go bag. Staff and service was excellent during these hard times. Thank you brome grange for a lovely stay with you. Would Definatly recommend and look forward to future stays with you.

Stayed under COVID restrictions which were all adhered to. Beautiful old building in bar area. Dog friendly with big field behind hotel to exercise dogs in. Friendly & helpful staff. Great location for exploring local area.

I would not recommend this hotel at all... arrived to check in, receptionist was not wearing a mask... room was not clean, hairs in the sink and bath and dried toothpaste on the sink basin, very dusty with cobwebs on the walls.... breakfast was interesting, I asked for dairy free milk, the waiter came back and said we only have semi skimmed!... whilst waiting two other people in the dining room were served the wrong orders... then mine came out and again wrong!...to top it off I asked for toast with no butter, the toast just never arrived!!. truly awful stay, stay clear folks

Thank you for a lovely stay. We were greeted and served by Jonathon Perfect, who was indeed Perfect, Pleasant and Friendly. Our room was large and clean with a balcony overlooking the courtyard. We had a meal in the bar area and were served by Robert Rampley, who was efficient and helpful. In fact all the staff we encountered were very friendly and chatty. The food was excellent and the chef was accommodating in tailoring my breakfast to suit my dietary requirements. We really enjoyed our stay.

Just wanted to highlight my thanks for your team - Robert was brilliant and so helpful in assisting with a room swap over - this was due to a last minute extended booking, not for any fault with the room. Robert couldn't have been more helpful or friendly - thanks for making my stay (and swap) so easy, relaxed and enjoyable :) ps; lunch was great too!

Bought and booked an afternoon tea for two via on Groupon at the Brome Grange Hotel in Eye with my nan. I am based in Norwich but wanted to try somewhere different and was only a 40 min drive. On arrival to the hotel, a friendly member of staff wearing a face mask, asked us to check in and complete track and trace and then she took us to the restaurant area to be seated. We chose where we wanted to sit and the waitress ordered our drinks first. The waitress brought over our tea promptly and then very soon after brought our afternoon tea out. It was presented very well, with plenty of food for both of us and and an endless supply of tea, which the waitress frequently topped up for us. The food was very tasty and we were both comfortably full afterwards. The afternoon tea was peaceful and and quiet, which was expected for a midweek visit and the venue was lovely, a very old, historic building with wooden beams and fireplace and a very rustic, cosy feel. The waitress who served us was very friendly and made conversation with us which was nice. She came over a couple of times whilst we ate to make sure everything was OK. Overall a lovely afternoon tea with great food, and would definately recommend to others.

Spent a few nights here, what a fantastic stay, although the rooms outside are dated, they were so clean and comfortable. The reception staff are amazing especially Jonathan Perfect, a very professional friendly duty manager. Restaurant/bar staff were fabulous, thank you.

Pleasant enough place to stay..room clean...no soap however.. My sister had major issues with plumbing in her room..flooding around toilet and shower not working properly. Was just given plumbing advice by front of house...when she found someone to speak to! Good food... limited choices..due to covid. . S Bright shining star in this hotel is Robert..an unassuming young man who juggles all plates with aplomb! Thank you Robert for being so lovely and hard working!

Due to COVID-19, rooms are only cleaned after the 3rd night, we only stayed for 3 nights so cannot comment on this. We did ask and were given clean towels. Breakfast was good but service suffered if all the tables were occupied, although the staff present, did their best. the dinner we had was bland and so ate out on the remaining nights. Internet was good, although the couple with us had difficulty gaining access.

Arrived at 20.30pm. No one at reception. Eventually found a small notice saying go to bar. Given key to room 25. Very nice but oppressively hot and no window open. No soap. Went to ask for soap and apparently it has been on order for weeks. This should be conveyed to guests by the hotel. Breakfast finishes at 08.30am. I would have thought 09.30am would be more appropriate. Breakfast menus were reused so had keep sanitising our hands. Asked for a better fan as the fan we had just moved warm air around. Very disappointing. Window opened an inch. No sleep after a long drive. Would love to have left but would lose my money. Would not recommend. Spent four nights at a Travelodge in Bath and felt very safe and well looked after.

We were very impressed with the care being given by the staff to welcoming, general cleanliness, sanitisation, social spacing and restaurant service. Especially to Jonathan and Robert, but we got the impression that the whole staff worked as a team. Looking forward to a repeat stay before too long.

Stayed here for one night after reading great reviews on the hotel and thought it was a good price for breakfast and room. Greeted by a friendly enough receptionist however she wasnt wearing a mask or visor. Hand sanitiser in reception was a bit hit and miss whether it worked or not. Got given key to room 18 which should have been a standard double. Walked into a family room (not a problem) bathroom light wouldnt stay on, dirt in drawers, mould around windows, double bed didnt have a head board neither was it properly made. My partner complained at reception about light not working whilst i spotted all the other issues. Partner was told there was no other rooms available and the manager was busy but would see us at some point to resolve the light issue. After spotting the other issues and checking pictures on website we decided we werent happy to stay and looked online at other hotels but unfortunately they were all booked. Went back to reception and explained what we had found and that we wanted to leave. We were then offered another room even though we had been told previously there werent any. Took key to room 3 and quickly checked it as we were late for a dinner reservation. Room looked more like what we had booked so decided to stay, however after dinner found that after a proper look the room was not clean. There was a toe nail down the side of the toilet, dust on the headboards, big clump of brown hair on carpet (i have blonde) and the bath looked like it had seen a good clean in god knows how long. Bed was extremely uncomfortable and there was no soap in the room. Given that we are in covid times i though hotels should be taking extra precautions with cleanliness but not this hotel. Doesnt even seem that they are able to meet basic cleaning requirements. There was no communication regarding using the facilities until we asked about them. Ordered dessert in the restaurant and the jelly in the ice cream was solid and tasted disgusting (dont order the knicker bocker glory). Service was really slow and staff not wearing visors at breakfast. When checking out and asked how are stay was, we explained it wasnt great and the room wasnt clean to ehich the young girl just replied sorry!! I wont be recommending this hotel

Having seem some of the recent positive views on various sites we decided to book a couple of nights so that we could explore the local area. Whilst our initial views based on our check-in experience were positive once we opened the door to our room our views dramatically changed! The room was extremely dated and in need of a complete make over! TBH we didn't really want to unpack! Although it was late August there was a a damp odour in the air. The next morning we even saw silverfish in the room, something I haven't seen for years! The bathroom was basic at best, old tiles with mouldy grout, bath towels but no face towels and no soap/shower gel, etc. The veneer on the furniture was lifting and the mattress had seen many years use! To add to a poor night's sleep the hotel fire alarm went off at 5.30am - apparently often happens if someone has a hot streaming bath! Whilst the staff are very helpful and work hard the general upkeep of the hotel lets THEM down. Sorry not for us!

We had a lovely midweek break and nothing was too much trouble, the receptionists was very attentive explained the one way system around the hotel, took our breakfast order, and gave clear explanation of where our room was. We enjoyed a lovely meal down in the lounge area the staff again very nice and helpful. The food was outstanding, we had the pie of the day ( chicken stuffing and cranberry) it was a Christmas dinner in a pie. My saviour ate meal by far. Such a warm and family friendly feeling hotel. The general manager has a very good team and runs a very tight ship. I will Definatly be booking at brome again. Thank you all for a greats night stay

A lovely place with excellent food and ample free parking. The rooms in the main complex are modern and spacious with a good shower. Diss is only a few minutes drive away. The hotel was clean, warm and comfortable. Staff were friendly and attentive.

We stayed here for 6 nights. The room was clean and well equipped. Due to covid 19 breakfast was a bacon,egg and sausage bap brought up to the room. The food on the limited menu in the restaurant is first class and great value. (The hot chocolate brownie is to die for!!!).The staff were wonderful! They were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. They never stopped smiling even after working such long hours! Would especially like to mention Dee and Robert for their outstanding service. Highly recommended and can't wait to stay again. Thank you for a great stay-cation.

A warm welcome after lockdown ended, reduced staffing but all the staff were friendly and helpful. Room 39 an executive double was excellent. Isabelle and Dee were great hosts. A limited breakfast was ok but not a full English! The evening meals were excellent.

Frist impressions where good, but this soon evaporated after seeing the bathroom, very rusty ratiator with signs of leaks, and the bath required cleaning before I could use it.... real shame as rest of the stay was acceptable.

First impressions were not good - there was an appalling pothole at the car park entrance. My room however was comfortable and had most of the things you would need, with the exception of decent light to do anything like read. Meals and service were very good. There was some traffic noise but the dawn chorus more than made up for it.

In January my husband and I got married here and we had the most incredible time. We had family travelling quite far for the wedding so most of us were there for the whole weekend and I can't express my gratitude to all the staff for making us feel so comfortable, nothing was too much to ask. Our wedding was perfect, the organisation of the whole day was spot one, the food was amazing and we all had a great experience. I really couldn't find any fault in this place and I would highly recommend this venue for a wedding.

Came with my other half who had booked afternoon tea on the 21st as a little treat. Was fantastic! Very warm welcome, we chose to sit by the window which was no problem, tea regularly topped up, and the food was great and clearly all homemade. And as for the little sausage rolls very tasty. Definitely revisit for a evening meal at some point If this is anything to go by.

Myself and my partner arrived at the Brome Grange Hotel on the 22nd February for our afternoon tea. We had received a groupon voucher for a bottomless afternoon tea which was simple to use and offered great value for money. Upon arrival we were greeted by the warm and friendly staff who gave us directions to the restaurant. When we arrived at the restaurant we were immediately seated at a lovely table and served tea and procecco. Our server was lovely and could not fault her in anyway. Our afternoon tea arrived quickly after being seated and wow! We were in for a treat. There were a variety of cakes, sandwiches, jams as well as fruit scones and a sausage roll. I had previously booked a vegetarian option for myself and i was served my vegetarian sandwiches on a separate plate. Which is very much appreciated! The sandwiches, cakes and scones were all freshly prepared and some of the items were still warm. This is a delightful, clean, friendly and warm environment with fabulous staff. Highly recommended and we look forward to visiting you again soon.

We went for afternoon tea today which I had purchased through Groupon. We were the only ones there and was immediately aware that it seemed very cold. I checked the radiator that we were next to but it wasn't on. The young man asked if we wanted tea or coffee and then brought out our food. All I will say is that I am glad I only paid the groupon discounted rate. The sandwiches were of a very poor standard,the scones were quite hard and dry.The rest of the cakes were with the exception of the brownie also dry. The best and tastiest part of it all was the tiny sausage roll. Considering we were the only ones there, we saw the young man once as he went back in the kitchen the entire time we were there. In the end we just got up and left without anyone noticing. I would also point out that be very careful when you drive into the car park as it is full of massive potholes.

A very Quiet hotel ( what we like) staff are very charming and helpful it was our second visit there. you don't have to leave the building it has a quaint bar good restaurant and on site gym and spa all off which never appear busy. Always leave feeling totally chilled and relaxed we will definitely return again

Room 25 is shown on the website nice furniture and beams and is classed as a superior room. But this isn't even half the story. Directly above the bar which is really noisy with customers until turned 10pm. You have to have the TV loud just to block the noise out which is not always what you want after a long day. If you don't, then next door have the TV up loud to block out the bar noise and that keeps you awake. Saniflo toilet makes an awful noise every time you flush. Thermostat for the rooms heating is in the bar and was turned off twice during my stay. All in all a dreadful room to try and get a restful night sleep.

I checked in today whilst up here on business, I didn't book it, it was booked by our booking company, everything seemed ok when I pulled up, receptionist was very pleasant and polite, however once I arrived in my room I was quite disappointed, the mattress to lie on was like it had been filled with dead bodies, lumpy and extremely uncomfortable, cob webs in the room, the bathroom floor looked like someone had been chopped up and they couldn't get the stains out, no toilet brush, dark entrance area, bedside light didn't work, the bathroom furniture looked like something from my great grans house and to top it all off I ran a bath and realised there was no hot water, hoping then the shower was a power shower I turned that on and no, cold shower !!!! I asked to be moved rooms and was told “were fully booked, if you wait 1 hour the back up boiler should warm up”! Needless to say I won't be returning!

We visited the Brome this weekend as my daughter lives near the hotel. we have stayed many times before. Never complained before this weekend,But we were woken Saturday morning at 7am as the staff in the Spa were talking so loud with door open we couldn't go back to sleep.we went to Breakfast where it cost £12.95 for a full English and I had continental for £6.95! When It came "1 Sausage, 2 pieces of thin bacon, I hash brown and scrambled eggs" It was stone cold,we sent it back. Mine was a slice of toast and some chewy museli with warm milk. We had to ask for juice and there was 2 cold pasties. We were gutten to be woken again Sunday morning with doors banging in the Spa again,then loud music. It was that loud my daughter who was staying a few rooms up text to ask if we were enjoying the tunes!!! When we got up to have a shower the water was cold and the the heating was off. I would of complained at the hotel but there was no one on reception all weekend. To say we were disappointed is to say the least. I always gave people the hotel details if they ask where to stay. I don't think I would stay again now let alone recomend them in future!!

I stayed in one of the court yard rooms, when entering the room I was presently surprised to how big the room was, lovely king size bed and all the amenities you would need, bathroom was big and spacious too. The evening menu was reduced to it being a Sunday, I opted for the roast of the day where three different meats were on offer, I opted for the beef, beautiful presented by the chef and very at tentative bar/restaurant staff. I shall Defiantly be returning in the future.

I stayed the evening and had an amazing meal and accommodation. Staff were terrific and very attentive to me, during dinner, nothing was to much for them. Lovely fire was lit and very relaxing to sit in front of. Breakfast was delicious and a great variety and lovely an hot, lots of tea available and a great way to start my very stressful day

We had a lovely afternoon tea here which consisted of sandwiches, little sausage rolls, fruit scones and lots delicious little cakes - the lemon tart was absolutely scrummy. The place was very quiet so we were the only people there but nonetheless we were made welcome and the service was attentive but not overbearing. There was even a really thoughtful touch of a birthday card for my husband; so kind. The whole experience was great and it was fantastic value as booked via a Groupon deal.

The hotel is OK, but the car park had massive pot holes like a battlefield. WE upgraded to a better room and were told after complaining, "dont lift up the toilet seat" They have a problem when paying by card too as the machines done connect properly and keep declining the card. It also takes ages to get your breakfast in the morning, make sure you allow some time if you are in a hurry.

All on one level. We had a beautiful room, with a King sized extremely comfortable bed. The entire place was as clean as a whistle. The food was excellent, from a fantastic choice of breakfasts, including full cooked English Breakfsst, and the portions were plentiful, to the sandwiches for lunch, which were extra, but well worth it, crisps,salad etc too. Eve meals at the table which thereafter became "our table during our stay". Fresh fruit,sweets always on hand at Reception. Receptionists couldn't do enough for us. So nice and friendly ,yet professional too. We were on the Christmas Deal, and we were utterly spoilt. It was so relaxing. One morning the Chef got delayed. The General Manager Lynn, cooked it. It was splendid. Lynn never seemed to stop from morning till night all during our stay. Always smiling, when I would imagine, she could have done with some rest. Robert the Bar Person was a delight. So helpful and polite. Another lady who stood out was a lady wearing black and with brown hair up in a comb.in fact Everyone was great, from the Cleaners to the Chefs and Catering Staff, to the Receptionists and the stay was delightful. Beautiful log fire in lounge, lovely bar, all so cosy. The pinnacle was the Christmas Disco. Super food, crackers, a lovely evening and dancing. It was near to Diss, and to Eye. Two little places, plucked out of the 21st Century, and put back into the 1950's. Slower pace, lots to see, and lots of places to just browse. Plenty to buy at lovely bookshop in Diss. Some lovely churches around the area too. I had not realised until we were going home, that it was so easy to get to, from all sorts of places. We had arrived via a visit to relatives in suffolk, for lunch. Therefore our journey there was governed by trying to miss some of the roads in Suffolk which had flooded. Had we not made that detour, it would have been a very easy straightforward journey, and the Hotel fronts onto the main road. We had a room in like a little apartment at the back, with a big space outside, looking onto woods. The stay was very reasonable financially and we would definitely go there again. It's easy to get to Ipswich from there, and Norwich, so it covers a lot of places. In these days of being used to be over charged and fobbed off, it made such a pleasant change to find this gem. Stayed here for one night during a business trip, not many other hotels in the area. The superior room was clean and comfortable, had a king size bed in the room, nice bathroom. The food in the restaurant needs improvement, it was average as you would expect at a budget hotel. Breakfast was good, continental breakfast had a small spread and cooked breakfast was available to order.

This was a terrible room, not clean and the hairdryer did not work. the decor is so out dated. The shower was not hot, and the quality of toilet roll was awful! I would not stay here again. The breakfast was very nice, however there were no glasses out for juice only one left so I had to share with my partner.

Hmm not recommended for a Christmas meal. My wife and I got married here 5 years ago so we were looking forward to returning for the memories of the day. Now before you read this review I hear you say, no where gets a Christmas meal right because of the volume and fast pace of the service, that is really no excuse. I HAVE HAD EXCELLENT CHRISTMAS MEALS elsewhere in the past years. The starter was an almost inedibly concoction of some kind of meat terrine that resembled pedigree chum and the melba toast was soggy and full of fat like fried bread. The main course consisted of significantly overcooked Turkey, burnt roast potatoes and raw vegetable that had clearly missed any cooking process all together The desert was palatable but nothing to write home about. I use this hotel to have respite it suits me well with the courtyard being quiet, the room that i had i was not happy with, issues with the heating and the room itself i was dissapointed with, the bathroom was in need of redecorating as did the room and better quality bed, i have used this hotel alot over the years but this room i stayed in was not worth £55. Per night, i have stayed in alot of the other rooms and have been pleased, room number 18.

Stayed the night in room 1 it was a family room carpet dirty bath stained needed a good makeover got there early and asked could we leave our case was told yes but it would be safer in car went back after wedding in Diss at 4 Pm room still not ready staff not very helpful breakfast not the best quite cold would not recommend

Used the Travelzoo deal. The standard room offered was in a separate motel style building with the front door open to the elements it was seedy, gloomy and freezing cold. Accepting that you get what you pay for we immediately upgraded to an “executive room” in the main building fully acceptable albeit the extra charge was £20.00 as opposed to the upgrade charge on Booking. Com of £10.00. Apparently this is an pre book only price. In addition the Travelzoo offer includes a £23.00 per person dining credit. This is misleading it is food only. We were charged for wine even though our total bill was less than the allowance. When queried apparently “the computer says no” rules the day !! Beware of the car park it has major potholes and the overflow carpark is unlit. They are a no win no fee accident claim waiting to happen. On the positive side the staff were friendly and helpful if a little disorganised. Suggest that the management team take on board and action some of the comments contained in the reviews rather than churning out the standard response.

The first room we were allocated was not much bigger than a broom cupboard, considering we had booked a Superior room. the next day we were told housekeeping had moved us, only to find our belongings still in the broom cupboard! we were then asked to pack and move to another room, given the key-card and sent on our way to find the room, only to discover on entering the room that it was occupied!!! Another trip to reception found us a room. My husband had booked some spar treatments for me, the booking was made a few months in advance, but we were greeted by the receptionist informing us that the manicure was not able to be done on the booked date, disappointed I checked the other treatments to be told they were fine.I checked again the morning of my next treatment, to be told it was a hour later than stated in the original booking!! I stood my ground and the receptionist said she would ensure the therapist was on time. I did get my massage it was fine. The only saving grace of the break was the good bar food.

This would of been a 5 star scoring if the food was as good as the hotel expereince. Our room was very comfortable. The staff even took us to the room which is a nice touch. Unfortuantely the food was shockingly terrible. Everything had too much oil in it. They even managed to ge tthe bread and oil wrong where there was hardly any balsamic vinegar but had far too much oil in it. I didn't think you could ruin a basic dish like this.

Stayed here as was seeing family that live in eye, room was clean and a good size in modern condition,friendly staff has a downstairs bar which did a lovely hot chocolate,can't comment on breakfast or dinner as had them with family but seemed a good place to stay for a weekend if your visiting that area

Sadly this is not a good place to have breakfast. We booked the day before for a breakfast here as we knew we would be on the road early and hungry and after travelling were looking forward to the breakfast which i saw advertised on their website for £10 per non Bed & Breakfast residents. We arrived just before 8am as we had booked for 8am for 2 of us. Sadly, apart from the hello and welcome it was one of the most disappointing breakfasts we have had. A gentleman asked twice for the croissants and pastries and they eventually arrives at 8.16am. Ahh, lovely and warm...dont be deceived, they were obviously over reheated as when you cut them they flaked like a tart and were too crispy. The orange juice - if it wasn't the cheapest on the market, it was watered down and not the usual lovely ornage you get in restaurants with orange bits in sadly. Ok, cant go wrong with the choose your cooked breakfast....sadly yes. It came within a good time frame however the scrambled egg resembled an omelette, and the bacon, eggs and mushrooms were swimming in oil which wasnt a very nice colour - somewhat of a yellowy-green colour??!! Ok, so lets have yogurt....although they said they were in date, the lids were blowing on some of them so we gave them a miss and went to pay. Here is where the biggest surprise was as it wasnt £10 each, it was £12.95 each. Dont ask me why the website says £10. I have even just checked this minute ago to check i didnt get it wrong but no, its still being advertised on the website for this price. Beware, you wont get charged £10. what a great shame it was such a let down.

Stayed in the Brome Suite, which I thought would be the best room in the hotel - Hotel hot tub out of order, spa bath in room jets hardly working, dusty room smelling of damp, double shower temperature uncontrollable, courtyard patio furniture very worn and not cleared, four poster bed creaked with every movement, sofa springs almost non existent. Booked for 2 nights (25th Wedding Anniversary) but checked out after 1 and went somewhere else.

We arrived for afternoon tea four of us ,and had a delicious tea with excellent service ,except for a very rude lady that sat at the table opposite us using her mobile phone on full volume and using her computer for the whole time we were there ,we could hear every conversation she and people she was talking too on the phone ,which rang many times.She sat at table right opposite us and we were the only other people there,so we had to talk above her voice all afternoon.We found out she was either a Manager or Area Manager for this hotel.There were many areas and rooms that were totally empty of people that she could have conducted her calls without ruining our lovely afternoon tea.Most strange behaviour.

The hotel, room and pricing was very good. Facilities very good, lovely and clean and nice staff. The one big disappointment was the food and service in the restaurant. Can you go wrong having fish and chips? Well yes when the fish is obviously or appearing to be a frozen battered portion. Then the second night I selected hunters chicken with chips. After waiting an hour for it to appear, the chips were wedge size and as brown as can be! Totally burnt, I didn't feel like moaning but my wife felt that she had to mention it to the duty manager, Jonathan who came back to us to tell us that the kitchen had stated that owing to the type of potato , they have to cook them more thoroughly! Now although Jonathan seemed to be very nice I just couldn't be fobbed off by this explanation, the chips were just over cooked and totally burnt. What a shame that the duty manager just didn't accept that the kitchen had got it wrong and just take off the price of the meal. Instead he said that he would not charge for the drinks. Anyway ,overall I would recommend the hotel as the food was isolated and shouldn't take away the positives.

So stayed here with work lovely building with ample parking the check inn was easy and receptionist even directed me to room which was hard to find upon arriving in room discovered tv did not work and shower was broken (not the end of the world) went downstairs to the bar which had an load of flies in not sure why staff seemed disorganized but they were polite food was good but took a long time

Our room was dirty and there were empty crisp packets under the bed, the room was full of moths, daddy long legs and giant spider! When we went to reception it was closed and luckily a man, who I believe was the duty manager, saw us as he was leaving and reluctantly came to assist. I asked for us to be moved as the room was extremely hot and for someone with an extreme phobia to spiders I wasn't confident I would get a good night's sleep. He said the hotel was booked up, and didn't know what else to suggest. My partner asked if we could at least borrow the hoover and again, reluctantly he went to get it. Of course by the time we got back to the room the spider had gone! He gave the place a good hoover as it was still dirty, and suggested that it probably hadn't been hoovered properly, if at all?! If that's the case then what else hadn't been done? I also felt he was quite sarcastic whilst I was panicking about this large arachnid.. Whilst I can appreciate he had finished his shift and wanted to get home it really wasn't helpful. I also couldn't believe the hotel wasn't manned 24 hours. What if something happens? Fire/emergency? The following morning I got up to use the shower and the head support had broken so you couldn't even use that comfortably. There was only one spoon left for the tea/coffee facilities and it was dirty. The curtains weren't even big enough to cover the windows. Only one window would open so there was no air flow. There were flies in the breakfast room, this was because the doors were open which can;t be helped but you need to consider buying some fly traps.

We stayed here on our way to Harwich. Standard BW with standard restaurant with good service and OK food. Staff were friendly and overall very good value for money. It is our second stop here and we would stay again.

Checked in here as part of a family reunion, very quaint hotel, quite basic but worth the money. If you are looking for a stop over this is the ideal place. Food is also available which was pleasant. More personal than a big corporate hotel. Very friendly staff.

Stayed here for a two night romantic break. On arrival to the room no bottle of bubbly, no chocolates and no rose petals so the surprise for my husband was not to be. Had to go to reception who advised there had been a mistake on housekeeping and they would be up to rectify. They did this very quickly, thank you. The real problem is the flies in the restaurant you are forever flicking them from your plates so not very relaxing when you eat. I hope they sort this quickly as the food is very good. Would I go back again? I would have to know the fly thing had been sorted then yes.

There are some splendid features in this hotel. We stayed in the Brome Suite which is palatial. The jacuzzi is wonderful, the bed very special and the general ambience excellent. Other family members had rooms around the courtyard and were very comfortable. All staff were friendly and tried to be helpful. We tried to book a massage in the spa. The receptionist promised to try to arrange it. We heard nothing, staff changed and no one knew anything. Pity. There is an events venue at the hotel directly opposite our room. Don't expect a peaceful early night.

We returned to the hotel having stayed last year on a complimentary visit. The management honoured a gratis return. This time the fly infestation was not there. The rooms are clean and functional but I can't understand why construction allowed the bathroom door to only open 85%. The staff were fine and helpful and despite the hotel hosting a wedding the breakfast was well presented but to capacity with seating. Overall a better experience!

I called hotel to confirm early afternoon on day of arrival but Reception could not find reservation on arrival. Both booked rooms were disgusting condition. One room had leak in ceiling flooding the bathroom, close to broken electrical sockets. Electrical sockets were actually dangerous and mu electrician neighbour said it should be shut down when he saw the photos. Bath/shower was filthy. Loo brush had not been cleaned ever by the looks of it and covered in excrement. Bed was filthy and stained with ripped linen. Chairs frayed. Furniture in very bad repair. Had to sleep on top of the bedding, because the sheets were so filthy. Generally disgusting and unacceptable conditions. Staff very unhelpful and Manager quite dismissive and rude. Full videos available as well. Quite disgusting. If you're thinking of staying here, don't. I wish i could give minus rating but this is the lowest allowed.

The hotel staff were generally friendly and welcoming but the hotel itself is a bit tired and could do with some improvements. I also had to contact them 5 times prior to my stay to deal with issues regarding my booking and was given 3 different prices overall. I would not say that the value for money was good. The food was average as you'd expect at a budget hotel. However, the rooms were well equipped and everything worked. They looked nice at first glance but needed some attention to detail (e.g. the carpet didn't meet the skirting board in the room and the bath need rinsing before use). Overall an average stay.

Had a one night stay here. Room could do with an update but it was clean and a good size. All the staff were really helpfully & friendly. Had a meal in the restaurant in the evening that we enjoyed. The cooked breakfast was excellent, nice and hot , cereals yoghurt & parties were all available as well.

We used this hotel as a base to see Norfolk. The hotel is reasonably priced and basic. The room was quite big. The breakfast was ok staff were quite slow at serving. Evening meals were nice just a shame there was flys constantly annoying us. I used the gym wich was ok I went to use the steam room afterwards and found I had to turn it on then wait twenty minutes for it to warm up. Most of the staff were nice and friendly

The first thing we noticed as we drove into the hotel car park was the potholes. Due to an event, we had to park in the rear car park. They have outbuildings that house paying guests & then we noticed the poor standard of windows, visible movement cracks on the exterior walls & fencing that looked like it hadn't been finished & the workmen had gone AWOL. When we got to our room with an ensuite it had four resident spiders & cobwebs galore in the light fitting. The general standard of fittings was poor & the place felt neglected. The sink in the ensuite had a large crack going from the top of the support to the bottom. A waste pipe behind the wardrobe hadn't been fitted properly & there were unfilled holes. The room also had a visible fuse box on the wall. There was a cupboard in the ensuite which was unsecured & this led into attic space which was being used for storage. We couldn't believe that it wasn't locked and had to check it was empty before the lights went out. The bed was medieval sized, had stained pillow cases & one of us had a crinked neck for three days after the visit. We managed to rid the room of flies and moths before we went to sleep but because of a visible gap between the base of the door & the door frame, a fly entered the room during the night from the hallway to disturb our sleep. Breakfast was buffet style & there were flies everywhere. You had to waft them off the food you were just about to eat, disgusting! Initially, there was no bread for toast, no glasses for fruit juice, no butter on the tables & we were not offered tea of coffee There is a phrase that states "No expense spared," this hotel was a case of "No expense at all." This is probably the worst place we have ever booked & would never return. Shame on you Best Western, not good enough.

Out in the middle of no where is this pretty little motel style hotel. Rooms surrounding a small car park with plenty more space at the back. Each room has its own "front door". The reception and spa area is in massive contrast being very modern with a large range of spa services available this would make it a great hotel for a spa weekend. Inside the rooms is slightly groggy dated decor but certainly not the worse I have seen. The only real concern with the room was the ceiling light fitting which was not attached to the ceiling properly. Breakfast was good with the unusual change of order from a menu rather than buffet.

Checked into this hotel due to work and was pleasantly surprised. Seen a few photos and read some reviews so didn't have high expectations. However, I quite enjoyed my stay. The room was quite spacious. It looked good and had a huge bed. The bathroom was quite nice too. The room had everything I needed. The only negatives for me was the pillows were too firm for my liking and some of the sheets had some sort of damp smell to it. We ate at the restaurant on the first nice for our first meal. I had baked fish (can't remember which fish it was) smothered in hollandaise sauce. It was ok. Not the best fish dish I've had. Presentation didn't do it for me either. The sticky toffee pudding was delicious, and so was the berry Eton mess. The staff were friendly.

Used this hotel as a stopover for 1 night , excellent value , great staff and lounge and restaurant were very good, would definitely recommend this hotel ideal location next to road for travelling on to final destination

The room was well overdue for an update. The carpet and bathroom floor were stained. The furniture and bathroom were tatty, however, the bed was comfortable and we slept well. I believe there are some better rooms in the main part of the hotel. We stayed in the outside courtyard rooms and did pay the cheapest price as we were only staying one night. Unfortunately, there was a power cut in the morning which meant no light or phone or tv. The room was dark as the curtains were thick and there were cars parked outside the window, so couldn't open them to get more light! Breakfast was no better. The staff were understandably disorganised due to the power failure. The electricity was back on when we arrived in the dining room but even though the breakfast was freshly cooked, by the time it got to us it was not hot and we each had something missing. We waited ages for hot water for tea, having asked 3 different members of staff. The buffet was lacking many items and it was on a unit that was too high, making it hard to see what was available. We were disappointed that the hotel did not meet our requirements as we have relatives nearby and would have used again if our experience had been better.

This hotel is pleasant enough but lets itself down in a few ways. Thursday evening waiter was pleasant but I got the impression that he could only do one thing at a time and was easily distracted. Woke up Sunday at 2.00 am to find two slugs on my bedroom floor. Other than those two things the hotel was perfectly acceptable. The food I had been told was average but in my experience it was very good. My room backed onto the road so the sound of traffic could be heard all through the night.

A most wonderful experience with excellent staff, and very clean and well kept accommodation. A clean and tidy spa which is free to all guests. THANK YOU very much to Julie and Amy for their professionalism and friendliness.

The staff where very helpful and friendly room could have been cleaner lots of cobwebs around the warbrode lounge area was spotless the bar was also clean and airy plenty of places to smoke a very nice stay

Very pleasant place, has good facilities and has been updated. Our room was in the courtyard which surrounds the hotel. Our room had a bath although the taps were not actually working the shower had replaced these and had been recently fitted. This all worked fine. Breakfast was outstanding and good value for money in the pleasant restaurant Overall very good place to stay and very good value.for money.

There were a number of issues that went wrong before we even got there but these were put right quite quickly. Our room was lovely and quiet, which is what I needed, the food was well cooked though the menu wasn't the bees knees, and service was reasonable. This hotel is in the middle of nowhere which doesn't help staff access, obviously well liked by those in sales and mechanical services, plenty of parking and I think it has the potential to improve greatly. It just needs someone to start the process and I think they've found someone who will take it upwards.

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They even accommodated us with a extra room at no extra cost due to an oversight. I would definitely stay there again. Excellent value for money.

First point, thank you to the young lady on reception who had more customer focus than the rest of the staff and management put together. Room had no climate control, had cups left on the room, wasn't painted in the bathroom, empty toilet roll, damp towel, rusty bin, dirty shower and a screeching pump preventing my siesta. Reception said no other rooms available. No proactive response from Aussie duty manager or general manager. Breakfast shocking. Shame on you Best Western, WORST hotel experience ever.

Stayed here midweek whilst on business in the area. I was allocated one of the outside motel rooms which was ok..the bed was comfortable. Nothing to rave about though and quite dated. The receptionist lady was very friendly and this was appreciated when I arrived later in the evening. My main gripe was breakfast. Service was incredibly slow and I was sat waiting for a good 15 minutes before anyone asked if I wanted hot food. At that point it was too late as I needed to go. My tea was also served in a scummy metal teapot. Not tremendously appealing. This hotel is ok and cheap.

We stayed one night as a good location for charity event we were attending.The rooms were clean ,plenty of parking,staff friendly and helpful .We opted for Sunday lunch great value for money.On a busy road but no noise heard from that.We had a room though near a function room and party music went on late . We had to check out early there was no where safe to hand key in luckily we had already paid for the room.Reception didnt open till 7am that might have been because it was a bank holiday weekend. Plenty of parking -would recommend

This is more like a motel than hotel, but it's clean and definitely worth the money we paid. We only stayed the one night and had evening meal which was limited in choice but OK when it arrived. The breakfast was included and had a good selection, although the service was slow.

I recently hosted a Sunday luncheon for 75 people in the Tithe Barn at the Brome Grange. I booked Sean Goodman a fabulous magician and the brilliant ragtime band Swervy World. Both you can contact via the Grange team. The team under Julie Campbell at the Grange were second to none with nothing being too much trouble. The food was excellent. Service superb. They have worked hard to really bring this venue as the go to in the area for sporting events too. Highly recommended for any occasion.

My wife and I attended a wedding reception here and stayed for an extra night. The staff went above and beyond during the wedding and also when we stayed on. The food was tasty and the bar well kept. Thank you guys!

Entrance to hotel from main road, watch the pot hole especially in the dark. Room very basic and dated. Shower control of water heat impossible. Even when set correctly suddenly scalded me during showering. Very dangerous, reported to reception who were going to sort during the afternoon when we were at a local wedding. However, next morning same so clearly a regulator should be fitted to prevent serious injury. Breakfast over bank holiday no bran or muesli available. Fresh fruit salad on second morning had effervescent apple so inedible. Staff informed but was not removed from breakfast shelf.

The accomodation was first class but the hotel's fulfilling of our contract for the event failed and we would recommend anyone booking an event to ensure at all stages that the hotel were on top of their game. As we experienced failings all along the line especially in almost complete failure of communication from the hotel. The staff were let down by apparent management discrepancies.

Firstly I must say this review is based solely on attending a function in the Tithe barn. We didn't use the main hotel facilities. The barn itself is quite dated and needs some attention to modernise a little whilst keeping its charm. The buffet food was standard. I was shocked to see that labels were not provided with the food for allergen advice so that you knew what you were eating. Many of us were left trying to decide if the goujons were chicken or fish. No way of knowing until you bit into it. The Ham sandwiches also contained a fairly hot mustard, again no way of knowing until you took a bite. There was one member of staff looking after the bar, food, and clearing tables. Whilst the number of people attending was probably around 60 the poor guy couldn't keep up with demand of serving drinks, and replenishing the buffet. We left at 11:15 and there was still plates with food on the tables that had been there for well over an hour. There are zero baby change facilities in this function suite. We had 2 babies in our family, one of 18 months and 1 just a week old. To change nappies we had to take them out into the cold and across to the main building. I feel that this is something that needs addressing and should not be lacking in this day and age. It could have so much potential but the small things let it down.

Stayed for 2 nights over Easter weekend booked a disabled room which was good size had electric bed so was even better because I could get myself in the right position for a good nights sleep. Bathroom was good size but lacking shelve for toiletries. Lovely place staff very nice food of good quality. I would have given 5 stars but the room wasn't made up due I think staff let down on a bank holiday weekend when there was a party on the first night and a wedding on the second night. All in all would definitely recommend this hotel

Had a overnight stay here in the Brome suite, (Amazing) it was a treat from our daughter for mother's Day, she's stayed here a couple of times and loves it. And she's right we loved it too, beautiful, quaint old fashioned four poster bed, huge on suite bathroom, double walk in shower, massive jacuzzi, I love this place, fab value for money, breakfast included, the staff and service also 10 out of 10 the food was lush, basically ill be returning for frequent breaks away thank you all for your hospitality much enjoyed The Sedgwick family

We were allocated 2 rooms in an annex close to the front of the hotel near the busy A140 road. Rooms were small and had old fashioned windows which didn't shut properly and let both noise and cold air into the room all night long - it was not a good nights sleep due to the road noise. The main bar and restaurant are across the driveway in the main block of the hotel which is all very good until it chucks it down with rain, then it's not so good. For the price paid it was poor value for money and we will not be using this hotel again.

The good rating really applies to the staff who give a good impression and were always helpful. We only had the breakfast and that was good. It is a buffet service on Sunday. We had a courtyard room which I would describe as a bit tired. It was however clean and plenty of hot water and well serviced. Price at our time of visit £159 for 2 nights B&B for 2 sharing a twin seemed a reasonable price to pay. The bar tariff also seemed fair prices.

We give warning, enter the drive slowly. It has a number of large deep dips and holes. big enough to catch out the unwary driver of a low slung car. They need filling. We stayed two nights in room 18 (a courtyard room) We found it very tired especially the bathroom. We checked with another courtyard room and that was the same.They badly need a great deal of TLC or a makeover. I cannot comment on the rooms in the hotel itself and understand some of these have been improved so perhaps make sure you ask for one in the hotel.. Having said that all linen and towels were spotless and the room and bathroom were clean. Check in was efficient and friendly although from the front desk was a bit like a Travel lodge and you appear to walk for ages to reach the lounge or bar area. The only incident we had was that on arriving back at the hotel at 5pm on the day after the first night the room had still not been serviced. a bad inconvenience as we wished to rest before dinner. We had to chase for this to be done and when done the beds were not made properly just thrown over without the base sheet being straightened at all. Probably a member of staff had to do it because the chamber maids had forgotten and left site. We found the rooms very hot but you can always turn a radiator off and open windows. Otherwise room was as expected although tired. Bathroom was clean given its tired appearance. Shower and facilities good. The restaurant is excellent. Breakfast was all you could expect. Very tasty and plenty of everything. We ate dinner in the hotel and found it very pleasant and the staff all efficient, very attentive and friendly. The food menu was standard and a little limited but the food we found to be of excellent quality and all nice and hot. We could not fault a single thing. For the price our two night stay was reasonable but as stated the courtyard area rooms were very tired.

We stayed last night in the honeymoon suite it's the 2nd time we stayed in this room and the huge jacuzzi bath is the reason for booking here again. The bed!!! If you move even your foot it creaks unbelievably every time either of you move it wakes you up! There is a massive gap round the door so it's freezing and the curtains don't really fit. Jacuzzi bath tap leaked and constantly dropped all night!!! It's wAs the worst nights sleep ever. Breakfast was good and nice flavour We won't come again because of the noise from the bed, road, gap round door.

This was a very friendly and well-run hotel. The staff were most helpful and we thank the good waiter for looking after us at dinner and the smiling waitress who was so pleasant at breakfast. We had seen comments that the rooms were cold but ours was certainly not cold. The bed was comfortable, and the shower worked well (although there was a trickle of water under the shower screen which we reported, but this is a temporary problem). Good TV and wi-fi. The food was well cooked. Good parking outside the hotel. There are nice little touches, such as leaving coffee and fruit at reception for any who have to make a quick get-away in the morning. We hope to stay at this hotel again.

We where booked in for two nights, we wanted somewhere quiet, relaxing and quaint the brome grange is all of these plus All the staff where very pleasant and helpful nothing was an effort and made you feel welcome we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found no reason to complain about anything ( a raraity in this day and age) without hesitation we will definitely go back

I arrived just before 10pm, after a veey long day. Sarah the receptionist was SO helpful, check in so easy! I stayed 2 nights and was very comfortable. Bed is comfy, shower is AWESOME, breakfast superb thank you!

Booked a superior double, got given a standard double. Inattentive restaurant staff forgetting to bring order and adding additional items to bill, then unable to provide card receipt. Could hear adjacent room snoring, alarm and conversations, stained bedding with hairs, intermittent hot water. Staff (duty manager) reluctant to do anything when I complained. Will not be staying again.

I stayed one night at this hotel, the initial welcome was very friendly. The room was a good size, clean and had all the normal facilities. The residents bar area was good and the staff very friendly. I ate in the bar area, the food was of good quality, as was the breakfast. The hotel was good value, especially in the winter sale. I enjoyed the stay and would definitely stay again if visiting the area.

I can't speak for the new buildings and facilities here but all I can say is that room 25 was lovely on first look but I didn't have the best stay. When we arrived late the place looked great, with new buildings and a nice reception area, lots of parking and a pleasant receptionist to welcome us we got checked in. The place looked relatively new with a refurb too. Room 25 was a large room with two chairs, coffee table and a fireplace. A really lovely touch and can't dispute that at all. But the hotel is right next to a busy major A road with lorries using it through the night so it took a while to get to sleep. Then in the morning the curtains just let all the light in but then it turns orange so you're woken up to thinking your on mars. It needs some black out blinds ideally. Every time you run the water the saniflow system kicks in making a loud noise. So I was conscious of other guests. And the shower head and hose leaks water spitting it at the ceiling. The water temperature changes every now and again and isn't one constant. Then from where the kitchen is below you can smell all the meat juices and fat from their cooking as it travels up trough to the bathroom and it just doesn't smell the best. Had the bathroom door closed all night to avoid the smell of what smelt like beef dripping. Other than that the guy who checked us in was pleasant. The room was big in size and had everything you needed, the bed was comfortable and the lights were good. We had ample parking when we arrived. But it's always the practical things that fall down at these Best Westerns and indie hotels.

On the whole it was clean, warm, Good Wifi and breakfast was good, staff friendly...A few minor points that need sorting/updating etc but it does what you need it too for a great price. I dont think i would stay longer than a night at a time thou!

I booked myself in for one night's 'bed and breakfast'. The hotel is staffed by truly lovely people. I had the warmest of welcomes from Isabel, who later served me my complimentary drink (a very well-kept pint of 'Old Speckled Hen') at the bar. I unexpectedly found myself having my evening meal at the hotel, and it did not disappoint. The food was superb. Beautifully cooked, delightfully presented and delicious. My room was extremely clean and warm and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast was everything one could wish for, with a good choice of dishes. The produce was of a very high standard and again, perfectly cooked and very generous. I do love a 'Full English' and this was one of the best. I booked out, determined to make another visit as soon as I could find an excuse to travel to this lovely part of East Anglia. A heartfelt 'thank you' to all the exceptionally helpful, dedicated and friendly staff for their warm welcome and assistance which made my visit a truly memorable one - and for all the right reasons.

We had a great time at Brome Grange, on arriving we were greeted with a warm welcome from the lady on reception, Sarah... She informed us we had been upgraded to the Balcony Suite, which when entering the room we were really pleased... lovely decorated and furnished room a docking station to put your Iphone or Ipad in, walk in shower, superking sized bed, which was so comfortable, we had a perfect nights sleep. In the morning, we went down for breakfast and was served again by a very polite waitress, who saw to us straight away, bringing us menus and taking our drinks order. Breakfast was delicious and cooked to perfection. We would Highly recommend this hotel.

I've been using the Brome Grange on and off for year because of work and the hotel never ceases to amaze me. The rooms are comfortable, clean and spacious. But it's the staff that make it the best hotel around. Cameron, Sarah and the team cannot do enough for you, from the moment you walk through the door until you leave. Nothing is too much and everything is done with a smile. I had an incident last week where i needed something to be delivered to the hotel because i needed it for my flight home. It hadn't arrived by the time i checked out but Sarah rang me as soon it arrived and i popped back to pick it up on my way to the airport. It's these little touches that make the Brome Grange a nice place to stay.

We ended up at the Broom Best Western today as the chilli cafe and the 4 horse shoes were closed but it was just meant to be. We received a warm welcome by Sarah, who was wonderful and nothing was too much trouble. The food was lovely and we were left alone to relax and catch up with a family friend who we don't see very often so thank you for making our day wonderful, we will be back!!

We really enjoyed are stay at the Brome Grange Hotel, staff were very friendly & welcoming.....we had a lovely evening meal from a very varied menu followed by a great nights sleep and a wonderful cooked breakfast. Really good value for money would highly recommend.

Was here in Dec Not the greatest place for a coach group.reversing into court yard off a very busy road Rooms tired and very hot.freezing tho in bathroom.restauarant very slow and took well over two hrs to serve our passengers .food wasn't very hot and breakfast was a disaster with food coming out in dribs and drabs then running out.cold plates then no plates .!! Few passengers complained about dirty rooms .chef didn't bother turning up on day of departure but manager and other staff stepped in. To be fair not a hotel for a coach group.think it was a last min decision no entertainment and nothing around the hotel for passengers to do or visit .but I've seen in brochure it's in this year. Lots of passengers won't return if it's at this hotel

My wife and I stayed here on business for 4 days. The first room we were put in (19) was one of the older, outside chalets. It was quite cold on arrival and smelt very musty and damp. It gave both of us tight chests and watery eyes. To be fair, a quick phone call to reception was all that was needed to sort the problem. The receptionist was extremely helpful and moved us to the honeymoon suite with 4 poster bed, jacuzzi and double shower! Both rooms were clean and tidy, although a little tired. The tap on the jacuzzi was leaking, the radiators were noisy, the bed was pretty worn out and it wasn't very comfortable. The door to the room opened directly onto the car park and it was very noisy from cars coming and going and staff going in and out of the adjoining restaurant/kitchen. The furniture in the room was very old, but in keeping with the old wood beams. On a more positive note, the food at the restaurant was brilliant, possibly the best steak I've ever had, and the breakfast in the morning was very good. The staff were also very friendly and good at their jobs. For the purposes we needed (a short stay for business) it was perfectly adequate. I suspect we were experiencing some of the older rooms in the hotel and that there are better/more modern rooms within the main building.

4 of us came to stay here in Jan 19 for a short weekend break. It's a simple of great staff meets standard accommodation but not in the greatest position. Simple but effective, we were given a free upgrade which was a nice touch but still just very standard rooms with small bathrooms (look out for the heating/cooling and make sure it works) the evening food was lovely but with standard service yet breakfast is good with fantastic service (so depends on shifts I guess!) The biggest disappointment for us was the spa, DO NOT BOOK if you're looking for a decent spa and facilities, this is where they fall short: Small, short staffed, not very clean plus a poor steam room and sauna that you have to start yourself and wait 20 minutes to warm up, our friend even called ahead to make sure the spa was open, they confirmed it was all fine but turned out to be run by a male who also worked the front desk, was unavailable all day Saturday thanks to a wedding fair event. However, for what they charge and the fact it includes breakfast this is an Ok choice of hotel. When booking there are a few great things to do near by but you'll mostly need to drive out to Eye, Diss or further in Norwich. Enjoy!

We needed a hotel near friends for one night. A lovely welcome by the receptionist Very informative A great room Spacious warm and very clean. Very comfortable bed. Great breakfast. Thank you. We will be back. Hopefully for longer next time

I stayed at the Brome Grange last week for 2 nights, Check in was excellent, the lady promptly took me to my room and went though everything I needed to know, the room was comfortable and clean. The bar area was nice, a large open fire to sit around whilst winding down. I used the bar menu both nights and have to say the food was very good, I have seen reviews previously and was a little concerned but no complaints from me. Breakfast was good, cooked to order and very nice, I usually like to have a buffet as I do not like to hang around in the morning, but the service was very good and quick, I will stay here again when I visit Diss again.

I booked a superior balcony room here as part of my wife's Christmas present and yet again I cannot fault a thing. The room was beautiful with a bed so comfy you could lay in it for weeks. The jacuzzi and spa facilities were spotless and the food and drinks delicious. Sarah who served our breakfast had a constant smile even after another guest accidentally spilt their entire breakfast over her. Can't wait to come back soon.

I recently stayed at Brome Grange with my partner celebrating his birthday. We were after a relaxing getaway and that's exactly what we got. We were greeted with a smile on arrival and were given all the information we needed. We were complimentary upgraded to a bigger room and arrived to swans and petals on the bed. The staff couldn't do enough for us, and were happy to help any way they could. We enjoyed dinner and breakfast and on both occasions the food was excellent. Special thank you for the birthday dessert. The staff went above and beyond to make sure our stay was enjoyable and it certainly was. Thank you so much. We'd definitely return.

Positives: Room was good; Negatives Food on 1st evening terrible, Frozen Scampi, overcooked, Beef Burnt, Roast Chicken Sliced and tasteless! Breakfast, no hash browns or black pudding, Thin white or brown bread no selection and had to pick up with hands. 1 piece of butter per person and waited 10 minutes for more. Having been to Ipswich hotel for NY eve last year which was superb expected the same standard. Greeted with nothing taken to a table, no mixing with others, sat from 7 - 8 with no music or atmosphere. Food was very good but served in a very bad way, Band came on at 10 started with Can't get no satisfaction and carried on in this manner. Went off at 11 and tape put on with some proper music. At 11.50 band said 10mins to NY then started a countdown with 10 seconds to go, Absolutely no idea how to involve the guests and get everybody on the floor. Brunch was 10 ~ 2 NY day went down at 10.45 to be told no room in restaurant table in the lounge! Then told only bacon or sausage sandwiches, porridge or omelette available they did not know what time the brunch would be ready! Overall this has to be the worst experience of any holiday/break I have ever had. I do however have to make a special mention to Cameron the GM since 14th Dec who was embarrassed and could not stop apologising. Sorry to be so negative on this first review but think it necessary for people to know the truth.

My first time at this hotel and was really pleased at the welcome at check-in. Extremely comfortable room and really nice breakfast.Would stay there again if business takes me back that way. Easy to find, good location.

Another great night in the barn for the new years eve party The staff were amazing thank you to Julie, Sarah and Cameron. The food was amazing . The band played a large variety of music everyone danced all night.. looking forward to this year's ball. Happy New Year to all the staff at the hotel.. The Holliday table x

We spent last new year here and enjoy it so much we came back this year even have the same room nice big room but small bathroom and now in need of some TLC still the staff give everything to make us feel welcome and go out of there way with the service give and the food is well cook and good size serving too this hotel has possibly the best hotel bar I been in feel more like a pub than bar and not over price too even so we feel let down this year with the new year party for some reason the numbers were not there which it a shame if it been like this last year do not think we would have come back still will have to think about next year but with hand on heart can not said if we will

very freindly and helpful staff, very clean for the age of the place,very good food xmas presant and chocolates and xmas presants, entertainment was very good all over the xmas period , very good overall standard, would recommend this hotel to anybody esp at christmas. only issue was the enterance to the car park.

The hotel is beautiful, the room was faultless. I chose a superior room in the main building. Next time I may upgrade to one with a bath, but that may not be necessary with the on site spa, which is complimentary for guests. The breakfast was perfectly fine, with an adequate selection of continental and hot options. Unfortunately no smoked haddock, but that is minor. In the evening, I dined in the lounge bar area which was very nice. The food was absolutely superb, with special mention to the mussels in lobster bisque. That dish was absolutely sublime. The wine list was not extensive, but there was a good variety of options. The only thing I would like to see improved is a nice brandy to go with the delicious desserts. Food prices were reasonable, wine slightly more. All the staff were excellent; professional, polite and helpful. Despite my best intentions, I did not make full use of the gym, so I can't provide a proper review. All in all, I would recommended the hotel.

Was advised on arrival that I had been upgraded to a refurbished room... only to find someone else's business in my loo... I did ask about another room (as well as someone else's business, room 26 only had a shower cubicle) and the lovely chap on reception showed me two of the courtyard rooms that had baths - but the ill fitting doors that needed to be slammed shut put me off (lone female traveller). Dinner was lovely and the dining room staff were really friendly - which was just as well as it was our waiter that arrived at my room at 11.30 at night to change the duvet cover for me. Probably should have checked earlier, but on pulling back the duvet I have never seen so much hair in a bed... it looked like a cat had been sleeping on it, it was everywhere. Had to shut my eyes whilst he changed the bedding - the duvet itself was disgusting and really should be burned. Will not be staying at a Best Western again any time soon

Stayed here as part of coach party organised as a replacement hotel from the one used by the coach company. Clearly this was a mistake as they were not geared up to dealing with a coach party. Our room was clean and warm but when we checked with others on our tour, it appeared we had a luck escape. Others had to change rooms because of poor standard/size/ temperature and poor fittings. This hotel is located in the middle of nowhere with no village or town nearby. The layout is confusing (makes Fawlty Towers look straightforward) but the public areas were clean with evidence of new carpet. Food was passable, breakfast being buffet style bvut varying delivery of dishes meant most were cold by the time you got it all together. The chef apparently left during our stay so other housekeeping staff had to step in. Staff were hardworking and very pleasant, Sarah and Jonathan were worthy of particular mention. The rest were bumbling about with no idea as to what to do with parties of our size. When we returned from the Thursford Spectacular show at 11.30 pm, the bar was closed and were had to stand our ground to get a drink. What happened to residents' bar?? The bar was stuff and the drinks, particularly the wines, were expensive and not that good. I cannot recommend this establishment and I will be contacting our tour operator to persuade them not to use this hotel again.

The room was cold upon arrival so we put the heating on 5 and it was still cold. It had a big gap between floor and door so was blowing cold air all of our stay. The bathroom had a cracked tile in shower also mould spots on the ceiling and paint peeling off walls and bath panel. The sink tap was dripping all night,Also in main bedroom had cracks along ceiling and corner behind bed.The bathroom sink had a crack near plughole. The furniture was scratched and bowed so the top draw wouldn't close. And to top the lot the breakfast was an experience,The sausage was still pink so left it, The tea we were served upon arrival to breakfast was only just warm. The reception staff were very polite and professional. For the price we paid it wasn't good value.

Fantastic hotel, food and staff! Nothing was to much trouble for any of the staff. Bar and restaurant are excellent. I had a superior room which was spotlessly clean. The Wi-Fi was also excellent. I had a 4 day business trip in the area and would certainly use this hotel again. I've already reccomened this hotel to friends and work colleagues.

We needed a weekend away and opted for their romantic weekend break. We were initially concerned as there was a wedding going on at the hotel, we needn't have worried as we were not disturbed at all. This is a lovely hotel and the frisbee excellent. Must mention the staff who were all helpful and friendly. We will be back. In fact I recommended this hotel to my parents - who also enjoyed their stay.

Good welcome by the staff who showed us both around the hotel and took us to our room. We booked trough Travel Zoo and got an evening meal with a bottle of wine and breakfast all for £99. Fantastic. The dinner was really nice with a good range of meals and breakfast was spot on. We had a large double room on first floor, it was very clean, tidy and plenty of hanging space for our clothes.

I have mixed feelings about staying here because on paper everything was fine e.g. it was clean and spacious but my personal point of view was that I didn't like staying here and I think it was because of the room I stayed in. The staff are very friendly but I did say twice that my room was cold. The person on the reception area was very apologetic but they did say that the area manager would be arriving on duty soon (it was approaching 6pm when they said this). I went out for dinner because I'm vegan and they didn't have anything I could have at the hotel. When I arrived back after eating out the area manager hadn't arrived and didn't sort out my radiator all night but thankfully the bed was good enough to keep me warm throughout the night. I found my room to be odd as well because there was a wall and a step separating the living area which had a coach and a T.V. in one part then the other part was the bedroom which I found inconvenient as I didn't want to get up out of bed to go and watch T.V. (just my personal point of view). The other things I disliked was that I felt that I was in the middle of nowhere as there were no shops or anything within walking distance of the hotel. The other thing was that I felt that they didn't cater for my vegan diet at breakfast because I did get some soy milk to have cereal but the only thing I had cooked was beans, grilled tomatoes and mushrooms which was ok but not amazing. This is an ok hotel but I personally didn't enjoy the stay.

The welcome on arrival was friendly and the upgrade of the standard twin to a superior was appreciated but this hotel is badly let down by the quality of the breakfast. The bread resembled a cheap value loaf from Tesco. The milk dispensed from a silver urn was off, to so I couldn't eat my cereal. I didn't receive an apology or a replacement. The sausage and bacon in the cooked breakfast were cheap quality and very salty. For a hotel,the range of cooked breakfasts was very limited and the manager needs to tell the young waiter,that cereals and croissants, do not on their own constitute a continental breakfast. At 12.95, the breakfast was seriously disappointing from a hotel that I wouldn't classify as budget.

Visited with a friend for a Charity Sports Dinner.Really enjoyed the ambience of the Hotels bar for pre dinner drinks and then was shown to the beautiful tithe barn function room for dinner. The food was (particularly considering how many people were attending the dinner) delicious and well cooked.The service was efficient and well organised, again not easy for a large scale event. We both thoroughly enjoyed our evening and would recommend on our experience particularly for a large function or wedding. .

Well equipped, clean and comfortable rooms, the staff were really friendly and this created a very relaxed but professional environment.Everywhere was very clean, and the breakfast was excellent!Ample car parking and really efficient checkout.

Little people don't matter in this day and age you have to be a V I P to get what you want . Doesn't matter that you book your wedding months in advance and get told 4 weeks prior to the wedding that the venue is double booked and we have to fit in with a famous cricketer . I'm sorry but the small gestures made did not prevent unnecessary stress for the bride and groom so close to their wedding and in a previous reply by the duty manager that an arrangement had been decided was really they didn't have the choice . Oh a prestigious event came before their wedding which had been booked in advance and no excuses should keep being made as to all the problems that occurred. Yes previous staff made mistakes but as duty manager surely you are still there so it falls to you even though the other staff are no longer with you . Even on the day of the wedding problems occurred . No wine on tables and when approached the manager blamed previous event manager but excuse me the tables were set with wine glasses so you knew there should have been wine or was it that there wasn't any . Surely these problems lie with you as looking at previous reviews things seriously need looking at . It seems that i am not the only one commenting on your hotel . Your wedding day should be something to remember not all the stresses that occurred for all of us

Stayed for two nights at this hotel, it has a lovely relaxed feel about it.The staff are very helpful and attentive.The room was large ,clean and had everything we needed. The restaurant served delicious meals so we ate there both evenings,the breakfast was tasty and filling and service in the bar and restaurant good.Would stay again.

Great hotel, had a great weekend break. Must book up again. The room we were in was like a motel room around the car park. It was very roomy and comfortable. The breakfast was fanatastic and set us up for our days out sightseeing.

Was absolutely shocked, attended a wedding recently which had clashed with another event so suppliers were unable to have access to the venue as promised, the bride and groom had to set up the morning of their wedding, all stresses you don't need on your big day, the staff promised to rectify their mistakes but never did, wine allocated to guests during the wedding breakfast was not put out, food was horrendous, inedible and they had sold out of most alcohol from the event the previous night so guests were not able to order drinks they liked. Wedding guests staying at the hotel found their rooms to be less than adequate, dirty bathroom floors in one room, feces left in the toilet in another room. Far to many problems with far to many empty promises. Would not go back.

Ref, Evening event with Alistair Cook and Geoff Miller. I booked 5 tickets and invited 4 important guests (one travelled from Portsmouth) to enjoy an evenings entertainment with England's greatest cricketing hero. Our expectations of the presentation by Alistair and Geoff were totally fulfilled. But such a shame that 2 of my guest waited 55 minutes to get a drink from the bar. I'm guessing there was well over 100 people in the Barn, but one barman for the first 20 minutes. Then the bar was closed without explanation. On enquiry, we were informed to order drinks by filling in forms left on the table which would be collected and lodged at the bar - they weren't collected. Having deposited the form at the we were later told our order had already been delivered to the table - NOT ……. blar blar - so almost an hour later the drinks arrived -- Utter shambles

We stayed overnight without breakfast, so only used a room. This felt ready for redecoration, with a stale smell. Outside, the car park was up and down and round the back where we parked, tatty with rough fences. The safe in the room had instructions to set up a code but it didn't work.

Very good service, attentive staff and a great service. The check in was painless and stress free. The breakfast catered for all needs and plenty of staff around for any questions. The hotel is situated in a very quiet and tranquil location.

The image portrayed is nothing like what you get, on pulling up the hotel look unkept ,tired and need of investment, It boast of 4 acres of ground which it totally a mess On arrival we found we were allocated the wrong room which was rectified but then we could not check in until 3.30 as the room was not ready The room itself was adequate but the bed was to low with a mattress that offered no support ,worse to come the pillows had no protective covers on and mine in particular was stained , this was rectified but unfortunately not to my satisfaction as the cover replacement was full of holes, I was told new pillows were on order, not good enough they should have then there ready to replace if required We only ate at breakfast , first day had to wait ages for meal , no menu on the table and we had to asked to be served , 2nd /3rd day no problem , Cooked breakfast was fine The web site show rooms which appear to be premium or business it does not show the outside rooms The garden area is full of dead leaves, nub ends etc and the car park gravel does it no favours It seem that everything is done on a minimal budget , staff are great, As a BW platinum member iI stay away at least 45 weeks of the year on business and nearly always favour BW hotels my wife and I who were there for our anniversary were dissapointed, This hotel needs a massive investment and if done you could not wish for a better location but for me and my wife we will not be returning

The hotel is situated on a busy road, so some rooms will suffer from traffic noise. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The food is OK, but with some drawbacks. This is mainly evident at breakfast as, like many of these hotels, it survives on coach parties. All other guests are rather "second-class" at this meal. The hotel has to get those people on the coach and away! The few staff who were allocated to our breakfast were willing enough, but there were not enough of them, and they needed to be organised. It was often a case of 'hunt the coffee/tea/toast/marmalade/baked beans/etc.' when you arrived in the dining room. The evening meal was much better with some superb dishes and better organised. I was in a party of 25. Housekeeping was reasonable, but not good. Requests for more (or firmer) pillows fell on deaf ears. Cleaning the cups in the rooms was a rinse under the bathroom taps and a wipe with the hand towel (I was there when they did it). The shower control in the bathroom was very stiff and difficult to turn on or off with wet soapy hands. The bed was very comfortable, and had firm cushions which were pressed into service as pillows. Reception staff noted these complaints and said they would pursue them. WiFi connection was excellent - and free!

I had my baby shower here at the beginning of September of which we had afternoon tea. Room set up nicely, plenty of fresh sandwiches, and delicious cakes. Tea, Coffee and fresh fruit juices replenished when needed. Attentive staff and very welcoming. Thank you all.

Hired the Tithe Barn for this Charity Event. Had great support from the team and access to decorate early. Perfect room, self contained with bar, buffet and toilets. Event really went with a Swing thanks to staff on bar and buffet for responding to our timings and keeping the show going. Special thanks to Emma, Julie and Jonathan for their input and extra help.

When we arrived Jonathan was waiting to show us to the spa facilities. Sauna, steam room and whirlpool all perfect size for 2. Swedish back massage was fantastic as part of the afternoon tea package. Unfortunately the afternoon tea had been made too early and the sandwiches were crispy and very cold. The cakes were better but the carrot cake looked too unappetizing to try. We stayed overnight and the room was spacious and clean. The decor around the hotel needs updating. Breakfast buffet was varied but the hot food underwhelming. Staff were friendly throughout.

Stayed here for 2 nights. Room pleasant. Could do with more natural light. We had a Classic room, a little old fashioned but functional. One light beside bed not working and light over mirror in bathroom not working. Pointed out to reception next day and fixed by time we returned in the afternoon. All staff friendly, helpful and polite. Breakfast a little slow but we did not mind. Weak coffee could improve!!!

Here for business, wish i hadn't. At first glance the place looks okay, but it's mostly a poorly equipped motel. No air con. No fan. Ground floor windows can't be secured in a partial open position. Mould on the window frames. Broken toilet seat. Broken tv. Poorly lit restaurant, and no air!! Gave up on breakfast due to poor service. No redeeming features.

After having stayed at other Best Westerns we were really looking forward to our stay here, how disappointing it turned out to be.The room we stayed in is in need of a new bathroom.They allowed us into the room BEFORE the bathroom had been cleanedand the driveway is very bumpy. It could damage any style of car .The breakfast was good value for money but not quite so the room.Couldn't have slept with the windows open because of the bugs from the trees and noise from the road and the room didn't have any air con so thank goodness it wasn't to hot!Definitely wouldn't stay at this hotel again.

Stayed here a few times and would recommend to others. Food is great albeit fairly expensive for what it is but nice all the same. Rooms are good, clean etc. Don't ever pay extra to stay in the Brome suit though. Room is very nice (not the cleanest) but the noisyies room you can get. Constant noise from traffic, kitchen is right next door so you get all that noise and smells from there. Hotel has a gym which is small but well equipped. As long as people don't book the suite, they'll have an enjoyable stay.

Lovely two-night break in a really decent sized double room. Prosecco and chocolates in room on arrival. We had dinner in the hotel both nights and the food was delicious, the bar is really cosy however the restaurant itself was lacking atmosphere and full of flies for some reason! The spa facilities were great and the two times we used them we had it all to ourselves which was so lovely. Our main issue was that housekeeping came at 5 pm when we were showering etc getting ready to go for a drink, so they were unable to turn over our room. Not too much of an issue for two nights but I wouldn't be happy if we were staying for longer. Super helpful and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend for a short break particularly for couples :-) (but only with a car due to distance away from things to do in the day! - we enjoyed Eye Castle, Diss, Waveny and Bury St Edmunds)

We stayed 3 nights for a family wedding. We had an executive room, which was recently furnished and a good size (but basic). The bed however was really comfy. The staff were fantastic, very helpful and friendly. We ate at the restaurant one night, uninspired menu, but the meal was much better than expected. The lounge and bar area and cosy, but the rest of the hotel lacks any soul. It's a 3 star, and if you bear that in mind, then you get a good stay and good value for money.

Arrived late Friday evening, check in easy, shown to room which was clean and adequate. Decided to eat there, took 15 minutes to ask us if we wanted a drink, had lamb shank and was asked if we wanted mint sauce, it didn't come when main was served, sat there for a further 10 minutes asked twice more, the girl said the chef was shouting at her so she forgot, (seems trival but when your food is getting cold very annoying), meal was nice though. Breakfast was a disaster, nice enough food but it ran out all the time and wasn't replaced. Stood waiting for 15 minutes with 4 other guests for eggs, in this time most other items ran out, was annoying as had to keep asking for everything. Need more staff as those there were trying their best. All in all not a bad place needs a bit of doing up and the dog friendly was a great bonus. Would visit again just hope they sort out the staffing issues in the restaurant. .

My girlfriend & I stayed here for a 2 night midweek getaway. On arrival we had an easy and fast check-in & were shown to our room by the lovely young lady on reception. The room was a nice spacious room, shower was average size. If I were to make any negatives, they would be that the bedroom & bathroom had some cobwebs, the kettle didn't have a decent filter for the thick pieces of limescale. The dining room decor seems outdated, could have done done with an extra pair of hands in the dining room as service was slow, being that they were covering the dining room and bar. Food on the first night was enjoyable, on the second night was good. We had fish & chips, but the chips were slightly undercooked & there were what seemed like enough peas for 2 on each plate. Overall we felt these were not really things worth making a fuss of, and enjoyed the stay. :)

We stayed here on a 2 night romantic break. I asked for a room with a walk in shower and was immediately contacted and advised we had been upgraded free to accommodate our request. On arrival our room was not ready but we were invited to wait in the bar and given a free drink. The room was lovely and we were very happy. The break included an evening meal which was delicious. Only marred by other guests allowing their child to scream at the top of his lungs...not the hotels fault! The breakfast the next day was very nice and again looking at the value for money and what we paid it was more than adequate and quite the nicest scrambled egg I have tasted in a long time. There was an unfortunate incident in the car park where our car was hit...that again is not the hotels fault, the car park is really a good size but we were hit by a man towing a trailer with a glider! Again the hotel tried to assist, The second evening the menu was slightly limited as it was a Sunday but the meal was equally delicious. The staff are all very helpful and I would stay here again.

Used this hotel as a stopover on our way to Wroxham for a day out boating with our friends. Late check in was conducted without any problems and even though the room was a little 'tired' we had a goodnights sleep. Breakfast was ample and we left in the morning well prepared for our day out.

Used for recent business trip. Great service as called in evening by staff for eta arrival nice touch. Strange outlay of hotel with the rooms bit like a European style hotel. Rooms need modernisation and beds require new mattress Breakfast decent service and hot food

This place never ceases to please me. I took my wife again for our 10 year wedding anniversary after having the reception here. I wanted to some good places to go walking and Sarah already had a list of places for me ready on arrival, what a lovely personal touch. Cannot recommend enough

My husband and I decided to call in from our way home from Ipswich last week for a drink. Our friend Charlie had her wedding at the Hotel a year ago, and we haven't been back since. It was a pleasure to see Sarah again. I remembered her cheery smile from the wedding. The bar was a relaxing place to have quiet drinks. I must plan to visit the spa soon as it looks wonderful!!

My husband and I had our wedding reception here 10 years ago which was lovely and we like to come back to celebrate our anniversaries. We have stayed in the honeymoon suite a few times now and had some delicious meals here and the afternoon tea was fantastic .The staff are brilliant and each time the service has been exceptional. Sarah has made our visits amazing and very memorable. Look forward to many more visits in the future.

We booked a 2 night stay at the Brome Grange hotel. The Hotel was very clean, we had a superior room which was spacious, with everything you could want in the room. We had booked a package including wine,chocs,bubble bath. 2 evening meals and breakfasts. We enjoyed our meals must say a big thank you to our evening waitress Sabrina. All the staff were friendly and helpful would stay again.

I booked this hotel for a long weekend away with the wife. First impression where good, the staff where very welcoming, the room we had was very spacious. A bonus was there was gym and spa facilities which was great. But most importantly the food and beers was top class.

After reading some of the reviews I was a bit concerned, but stayed here last week with my husband and we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. The hotel was spotlessly clean and our room delightful. We chatted to the receptionist Sarah who gave us some local information of the area. We had a fab meal in the courtyard restaurant that evening and couldn't fault the food or the attention to detail. We shall be back.

The Rooms are clean and tidy, parking and unpacking luggage is easy. Sarah and Emma at the front desk were really helpful and friendly and breakfast wasn't bad either. I paid around £75/ night which is pretty good considering it's getting into a tourist zone in July. In Britain that's about as good as you'll get for the cleanliness and level of service. I often use best Western here and in America and as of yet have never been disappointed.

So we booked a travel zoo which was a "3" course dinner, bed and "breakfast", oh and they give you a fancy showergel!! a box of Lindt and a bottle of Prosceco. The room was ok, a King bed, most rooms appeared to have Super King, a TV, kettle and that's it. The bathroom had a broken lock so god forbid if you close the door you are not getting out! The toilet flush was clearly too much work for the plumber to fit in so was left off! and the hot and cold were the wrong way round. Oh and if you use the shower cover your sensitive bits as the water comes out like needles with no control function! Food was distinctly average, usually erred on the side of overcooking, plus the "chef" has severe ideas above their station - slate plates, flowers on the food and a huge reliance on a Balsamic Glaze poured everywhere. WARNING -- if you pre pay for a 3 course meal it doesn't mean a 3 course meal. it means a £24 allowance. Cheapest desert is £6, cheapest starter is about £6 and most main courses start at £16 - do the maths! We went over by a tenner. Btw how difficult is it to cook a simple burger, even a minimum wage student in McDonalds can manage it. As for breakfast, WTF?! No pastries, no fruit (other than tinned grapefruit) no proper fruit juice, no hot water for the tea bags, no decaf options, no vegetarian options (other than mushrooms and tomatoes) no cups, no glasses, no clean plates, no working toasters, no proper attitude from the staff. And clearly if you don't turn up for a Travel Zoo deal you get offered a menu of specials which we saw none of. Over 4 meals in the restaurant we also saw brown bits on the wall which were never cleaned, and a happy hour cocktail menu of which the vital ingredient for 75% of the cocktails on said menu were not in stock. Upon checkout we were not asked how our stay was, just handed a bill for our £10 overspend which we suggested they remove in lieu of the breakfast service, no argument there. The Spa was also closed the whole time but the staff don't tell you that. It looks like the staff are clearly put upon as most are ok (clearly not the "chef") it is just management clearly do not care and do not want repeat business. I notice there are no responses to these reviews from the management, says it all.

We stayed for two nights and I would have left had we not travelled for 6 hours to visit my very elderly (97) father in law.From the first view of the frontage this is a very run down hotel, The staff are indifferent to any complaints and do nothing to rectify problems or make your stay pleasurable. We had our dog with us so we were given a courtyard room. This is a very grand description of a car park covered in chipping! The room was dark, dismal old fashioned and in parts tatty. The taps in the bathroom were wobbly, only provided hot or lukewarm waster, the shower over the bath was ancient and it was far too dark due to the over mirror light being cracked and broken. There were two stained chairs in the room which I did not fancy sitting on. I did request some cushions to cover the stain but my request was ignored so I found two cushions from the outside seats and 'borrowed' those. We had to prise the lid of the . kettle open when we wanted to use it and the room was generally very dark and depressing. We did not fancy eating there but had to as we could not find anywhere nearby. We had checked prior to booking that the restaurant was open Sunday night. It was but only with a limited menu. Fish & chips or a roast. We dined in the pub area and had the roadt but it was very poor. Probably cooked at lunch time and warmed up, however the starter of chicken liver pate was delicious. The only redeeming feature of the stay. The staff at breakfast were bored and seemed irritated to have to actually serve you. There were flowers on the tables but there is little point to this if they are dead! We were offered a table where the chair was covered in crumbs from the previous occupant. We constantly had to ask for things i.e. Butter sugar etc as nothing was topped up and the breakfast was poor quality.

Once again on a hot June evening the staff at Brome Grange came up trumps with a very good meal for 70 people.Everything went to plan and the meal was thoroughly enjoyed by all.The staff were most helpfeul The only problem was being a Barn air conditioning doesn't exist and it was rather warm hence not an 'excellent' review.

Room was smallest we have ever stayed in, but apparently we were told when we got there, we had been upgraded. We decided it was a case of other visitors wanting to be next door to each other, so we were moved. We had a sky light, so didn't bother opening blind, as right in our view was somebody's balcony. We didn't wish to see into their room, and certainly didn't want anyone to see into our's. No bath, just a shower, which was constantly on 'burning', didn't matter how many ways we turned the taps. Didn't get good service at dinner, had dirty glass, and waitress who walked away as I was talking to her. Apparently they do weddings there, don't know how they have the nerve. We have been in some lovely Best Westerns, but this hotel does not deserve to have their name. Won't be visiting again, and do not recommend it to anyone.

Outside rooms a bit tired n in need of update especially the bathroom. The bed was on a wooden platform that I walked into several times! Big ouch! Breakfast self service which I'm happy with but the eggs rather sad n scrambled egg could have bounced. On a positive note the staff are very helpful and pleasant. But think that it's hugely overpriced.l

When we first entered the hotel, my husband declared that 'The hotel inspector would have a field day in here'. The place is tired, even the rooms that have been modernised are tired (by modernised, I mean pasted over the cracks). This could be acceptable if it wasn't for the staff's lacklustre approach to their customers. Check-in was basically just someone who handed over a key with no explanation fo breakfast times etc. The check-in staff hid in the office behind for the rest of the stay. We stayed in the family room, which we had seen pictures of and noted it was an older style, but really, for a best western brand hotel, would you have insecure broken window locks in a room with children in on the ground floor? Would you have stains on the ceiling which could be easily remedied? Would you just leave the leaking taps in the bathroom and stained bath tub? Even the basics of having two old fashioned halogen lights on the bedroom ceiling should be updated. Breakfast was run by one guy, who was sweet but seemed very shy and avoided taking our order for quite some time and it wasn't particularly busy, We ordered the 'special' for a supplement which was a croissant topped with cheese, ham and a poached egg...do not bother getting this. When it returned after, again, quite some time, it was a hard boiled poached egg on some cheap brown toast! I asked the waiter why my order was wrong and he just said 'we don't have any croissants'. Which would go been helpful to know before receiving my 'surprise' food. We did not pay the supplement for what was basically a hard boiled egg on toast. My mother ordered the other special, which was a croissant with scrambled egg and salmon and received the brown toast with a large omelette on top...its amazing how hard the chef here finds it to cook what's on the menu. Walked over to my sisters room to be greeted by a dog poo bin (a flip top inside waste bin, labelled dog poo bin) placed between two room doorways - disgusting, I don't know why someone would even think of putting a dog poo bin right outside customer rooms! Her room was more modern but so dark, even with the lights on, it was like dusk in there. Again leaking taps in here - this is a general running theme in this hotel. My mum had the suite as it was her wedding day and leaking tap is an understatement, it was gushing water! And the noise of a whistling pipes as it gushed made it impossible to sleep.You could of filled the spa bath 5 times over in the night with the 'leak'. She requested a plumber who apparently came and said it couldn't be fixed. I dread to think what a UV light would reveal in this place. The only thing this place has about it, is its location, so if your desperate enough to stay in the locality, then book in, otherwise avoid it until its had a full renovation and staff have been trained properly. This place brings shame on the best western brand.

Ok, so we arrived an hour early for book in but we directed to our room, which was downstairs and across the gravel covered car park. Has anyone tried to push a wheel chair or mobility scooter on gravel??? No problem though, there is a path around the outside. Perfect, that is until you need to go down a rather steep slope and across THE GRAVEL DRIVE, up another steep slope and down the path to our room. The room door was open, bed stripped and dirty mugs in the sink! The housemaids apologised profusely and hurriedly cleaned the room. Now I understand it WAS a Saturday evening. It WAS a very busy night but surely the reception could have explained the room wasn't ready and pointed us in the direction of the bar, where we could have enjoyed a drink whilst waiting? The hotel isn't for the single disabled visitor, as there are a few fire doors to navigate. So be warned. Finally, we entered our room, via the step into it! Bathroom to the left, good size, reasonably clean but dated. Bed room area was large and was large enough to handle a wheel chair/scooter IF you could have navigated the mine field of doors, gravel, slopes and step. The room was, again reasonably clean, however there was a largish stain on the carpet. Dog friendly? I'm afraid, for me, this hotel was NOT disabled traveller. Can't say about the food, I couldn't face the reverse journey to try the restaurant. For a fully able bodied person, this would be good but sadly not if you need wheels to get around.

Constant leaking bath tap that kept me awake all night, no wake up call in the morning when asked for and too asked for an omelette with cheese, ham and onion which I was told I could not have as there was no onion!!!!

Booked a loverly romantic 2 night break for our 10th wedding anniversary including bottle of fizz in our room on arrival chocolates, rose petals and sensual bubble bath sounds to good to be true, well it was! The reality was a dingy outside room, very low uncomfortable bed, box of celebrations chocolates, no rose petals and some radox shower gel! And the bath mouldy, complained to only be offered a free drink which we didn't take them up on as we checked out after about an hour or so after checking in, ended up at the Barnham Broom hotel and spa that I can completely recommend.

Will recommend to others very good value for money! it was a very nice break, the shower was probably one of the best showers i have ever had! the rib eye steak was very nice along with the wine list!

We rated our stay 8/10 but there were a mixture of 5's and 9's!! We stayed one night, dinner, b&b spa package for our wedding anniversary. Room 20 Courtyard. Bed - huge and comfortable Shower - powerful and hot Hotel food - Piping hot. Very tasty. Staff - very friendly and helpful. Loved Neville the barman. Gym - exceptional facility. Bathroom - v.tired, looks like not touched since 1972, found long hair on tap, no shampoo / body wash in the dispensers. Spa changing rooms - v.tired, mould everywhere and dark. Toilet didnt flush - Beetle running around! No sky tv (even in the bar) to watch Champions League final. (Not that my wife minded!) In summary; value for money on the whole. More personality than a Travelodge. A lot of things done very well and a few things needing serious TLC. Simon & Kate

Tatty, run down, like stepping back to the 1980s and those are the best points! We booked a "superior" double room. When we arrived we were shown the room (room 40). It was small, very small and the bed was at best a 4ft double, so not much bigger than a single, truly not what we would call a "superior double". We asked for another room but this was not much better although the bed was at least a standard 4ft 6in double, so we opted for this. We were also shown a third room which was not classed as "superior" and was in the "courtyard". Obviously at sometime this had been a Motel and these rooms were set around the perimeter of the parking area, typical 1970s Motel style. Honestly these were awful. Tired 1980s decorations and fittings, shabby carpet really dreadful considering the price we were paying of £105 for the night including breakfast. Meanwhile back in the room we had opted for (no.24), the bedside table light didn't work, the dressing table light didn't work either. There was no shaver / toothbrush power socket in the bathroom, in fact there was nothing "superior" about the room at all. We then discovered that directly below (and I mean about two feet below) our only window was a huge kitchen extractor fan vent, so when the kitchen was in operation the noise of this fan - even with the window shut was very intrusive, so no chance of an early night or a lay in in the morning because as soon as breakfast started to be prepared at around 6 am the extractor would be switched on and sleep impossible! Because of circumstances and lack of availability elsewhere we had to endure two nights staying here and paid over two hundred pounds for the pleasure........just not good enough and we strongly suggest avoiding this hotel.

In summary this is a nice 3 star hotel. Yes some areas do look a but tired but it is clean, pleasant & good value. As many previous reviews have said, the biggest bonus here is the staff, who are friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Both of the nights we stayed there was a large group using the restaurant so the staff recommended that we dined in the bar/lounge. This we did and had a delicious meal. We had lunch in the bar the day we arrived and this was also excellent. The bar is a good place to enjoy a quiet drink. A couple of negatives... There was no milk in room and the TV remote was not working. The milk was brought immediately but initially we were told to use the buttons on the TV! However they did find another remote when I complained further. However the biggest negative was that we had booked the stay as 3 course dinner, bed and breakfast. When we arrived we were told there was a limit of £24/head on the dinner. Thus had not been stated before. To compound this, when we looked at the menu it was not possible to eat 3 courses for £24! To be fair to the manager she gave us a couple of free drinks on the second evening as I had complained. But I was not really concerned about the money but more the principle.

Stayed here recently and multiple times in the past and the level of service and quality you receive for the money you're actually spending is very I think remarkable. The hotel is in an very easy to find and accessible location on the A140 making getting to nearby towns pretty straightforwards. With a decent sized car park I had no trouble getting there, parked up and to reception where the staff were their waiting at reception and were very welcoming as always. After the lovely receptionists handed me my room key card I headed on up to take my bags to my room to find a decent size and remarkably clean room in which I'd be staying. You get pretty much everything you need and everything worked which you often find in a lot of other hotels isn't the case. I also felt fairly confident that if I did have any other requirements the staff would have been more than happy to try and fulfill them as they couldn't do enough but I could't spot anything missing myself! After a very cosy and good nights sleep I went down for breakfast in the main restaurant where again happy and helpful staff were on hand to set me up with a table of my choice attending to my tea or coffee needs once I'd sat down. Breakfast is done in a buffet style and you're presented with a good selection of cooked and non-cooked breakfasts which I was very impressed with! Food was hot and fresh, drinks were well assorted and once again I couldn't think of anything else missing. All in all a very well priced hotel with attentive, friendly staff and to top it all off great food. Looking forward to coming back! :)

Stayed here on a few occasions in the past with no issues. However today , fell in the car park on loose stones whilst getting to room 12a , never a good start. Ordered tea Chicken curry, looked nor tasted anything like and so returned, the poor barman was very apologetic and offered a alternative, Tagliatelle was the choice, after what seemed like an age the said dish arrived (only just warm) so that went back, the wait continued, eventually the food turned up hot but the whole experience had taken away my hunger. Everyone was apologetic but sorry to say damage done. I am a diamond select member but might have to look at other options....????

Good standard Best Western hotel, friendly and helpful staff. My room was compact but fully functional. The bathroom was a little tired and had some staining on the floor but looked clean. As hotel we s on a relatively busy road I would request a room away from the road if your a light sleeper although double glazing was quite efficient at minimising the road noise. The back was not the most welcoming I have experienced recently and the food looked expensive for a hotel of level , we opted to eat out instead. Breakfast was great and staff very friendly. Overall good value for money .

Lovely food, helpful and pleasant staff. My room was in the main building and very satisfactory. From my window, I could watch a wren going in and out of its nest, lovely. A shame the weather couldn't be improved - rained each day!!

We were based in one of the outside rooms which was OK. The bathroom was outdated and just didn't seem clean with dark grout around bath and it had a real 'damp' smell to it which was not very pleasant. The other issue for me was the loo seat - is it really too much to ask for a seat to fit the toilet?? The bedroom itself was fine although a little cold for me and there did not appear a way to turn heat on. My husband rated the bed as one of the best hotel beds he had slept in. We had a meal in the bar which was served by a friendly barman and arrived piping hot - another of my peeves being lukewarm food so this was fab. Breakfast was good with a nice selection and fresh hot choices. In summary, we had expected better at a Best Western an OK overnight stay.

Had a nice stay overnight to visit family. Lovely breakfast. Good clean room. Our room was not to noisy. Only down side was we were charged for two drinks we didn't have? We have been refunded. Mistakes do happen.

When making our booking I explained that my wife was in a wheelchair. On arrival at the hotel at approx. 3.30pm I found that the room was not ready and Room 21, which had a wet room for disabled guests had an 8 inch step into it with a 2 inch step down into the room. Fortunately we had a shower step with us so with the use of her walking frame she was able to access and exit the room with difficulty. We were on holiday for 4 nights and visited the restaurant on the first two nights. The food was average but prices were high for that standard of fayre. Staff were good but the hotel itself needs a lot of investment to bring it up to Best Western standards. The entrance to the car park has a large pothole and some smaller ones and the car park itself is covered with gravel which makes pushing a wheelchair difficult. My advice for disabled travelers is avoid this place and find somewhere with more suitable facilities.

Arrived on the Saturday for a 2 night stay, large rooms but very dark décor inside with awful net curtains and very bad lighting in room, bed not that comfy and also bathroom was very old fashioned and had dripping tap, we should of complained but has we couldn'tt hear it when door was shut we didn't bother, would of expected better from Best Western rooms. Came down for breakfast Sunday morning to all I can say was unorganised Chaos there were no tables for myself and husband, we were offered a table in another room which would of been fine if it had not been a coffee table, was unbelievable they expected us to stoop over a table to eat breakfast , they then found us a table in the bar. Buffet breakfast was awful stood waiting for ages for food to be replenished one gentleman stood for ages with his toast waiting for eggs which then turned cold by the time the eggs arrived. My husband left most of his full English due to it being cold. Well they did refund us our money for the breakfast when complained we were told well we do have a lot of guests today which really was not our problem, I put that down to bad management, Monday breakfast was quieter and not buffet style and more acceptable. All in all we travelled over 4 hours and thought we had picked a good hotel as it was Best Western and now I am very disappointed and would probably not book again with this company.

All staff were brilliant Neville behind the bar knew exactly what he was doing. Jonathan at reception and in the restaurant made us feel very welcome. Sarah at reception was very helpful and the managers were fantastic. I can't wait to come back again.

We picked this hotel because of its handy proximity to an event we were attending, rather than anything else. I hadn't stayed in a Best Western for a very long time and my impression from the past had not been great. We were therefore pleasantly surprised to find ourselves shown through pristine corridors, to a very nicely decorated and furnished room, clean and comfortable with leaded glass windows. More than average supplies of tea, coffee & milk in the room also bought cheer and made the difference compared to many hotels who can be so mean with these supplies. A hotel that understands you may like at least one hot drink on arrival and another in the morning without having to ask, gets extra points for customer care from me! Two small niggles - the design of the bedframe with the wooden corners protruding from the bed meant we unsuspecting knocked into the legs on more than one occasion – were we the only guests to go home with bruised legs I wonder! The only other disappointment was the TV which frequently pixilated – I'm not sure if this was a one off or a regular problem with the signal. Overall the staff were pleasant and helpful – top marks to Jonathan on the front desk for his welcome and cheer. Breakfast was also good – minimal buffet style queuing (just for cereals and toast) as orders for the main meal were taken and delivered to the table. This included pots of tea – what a joy these days to have a steaming pot of tea and a jug of milk on the table! The cooked breakfast was extremely tasty – possibly because it was made to order rather than sitting out for hours. This hotel exceeded expectations for a mid-range hotel and compared to a Premier Inn scored a few extra points for the more individual style of the bedrooms & breakfast room, the above average room tea/coffee supplies and the tasty (served at the table) breakfast.

Stayed as a couple two nights in a superior room that whilst clean and large (apart from the bathroom that could have been better designed with more space taken from the room) it was drably decorated in dark brown furniture, brown striped carpet, with dull green curtains and equally dull artwork. What were the management thinking of when they furnished it. Brighter coloured paint is in need elsewhere too. I was told it was a "Corporate Room"! Well believe me It ranked amongst the worst room I have ever stayed in, and I have stayed in hundreds of hotels throughout the world. Added to that the breakfast experience was unpleasant, dirty plates!

Arrived on a Sunday evening, Sarah on reception was excellent, giving information about the hotel and our stay. Room was tired, but functional. There were some lights not working, but we didn't bother to report. Useful to have parking close-by the room, as it was in the courtyard area. Breakfast was a mixed review, depending on how many team were on duty. Food was cooked to order which was good. There was no marmalade for our 5 night stay at all and no tomato sauce on our final day. Surely a management decision could have been made to rectify this with a trip to the supermarket / cash & carry. So many other customers mentioned it during the stay. Lounge and bar area OK. There is a Spa on-site. I enquired at reception about some treatments, was told there was only one person that carried out treatments, so details were took and was told someone (Jonathan possibly ?!) would call me to advise what was possible, heard nothing else, very poor customer service. Not sure what qualifies a hotel to become a best western 'plus', but on previous experience at other BW hotels, I have stayed in better that were not 'plus' status

Great location for easy access to Suffolk and Norfolk attractions. Very helpful and friendly staff - particular shout out to Amy and Neville, who ensured that despite our late arrival due to the snow, we were still able to enjoy dinner as they ordered on our behalf. Tasty food, huge portions. We stayed in an exec room and it was a good size and had nice small balcony. Only thing to note was that shower needed attention, but this was noted on check out for maintenance to deal with. Would recommend and will stay again.

Just spent a few days in four different hotels in Suffolk and this was the only one where reception staff welcomed us as though they were pleased we were staying with them. Despite being there on a very special offer it was warm, welcoming and excellent value for money. The owner should be very proud of the young ladies they have employed on reception. Rooms were as expected of this hotel, comfortable, clean and quiet. Breakfast was included in room rate and more than acceptable. I would recommend people stay here rather than the expensive hotel opposite (stayed there previous night) if they want value for money. Well done Brome Grange, I shall return.

Stayed here for 4 nights last week, I was accommodated in the annex building rather than the main hotel. Didn't get off to a brilliant start, the rear car park is like a quagmire when it's been raining, so rather than wheeling a heavy case to reception I had to carry it quite a distance. The reception is light, clean and airy with very professional staff. All the staff at the hotel were friendly, polite and pleasant. My room was very tired looking with aged dark and very worn furniture, some light bulbs needed replacing. The ones that did work were of a very low wattage, making the room very gloomy. The heating couldn't be controlled, no thermostat and no radiator valves either. The bathroom also was in need of a spruce up, cracked tiles, worn out fittings and lots of sealant to cover the holes and crevices. The restaurant was first class, I ate there each evening and couldn't fault the food. To summarise; The car park and annex rooms need some investment, come on BW inject some cash to bring The Grange up to scratch. Would I stay there again ??? No I don't think I would.

Having had some bad experiences previously with Best Western Hotels, we were reticent to book in here, but as it was the closest to where we needed to be, we took the plunge....very glad we did - we were pleasantly surprised. The staff were extremely accommodating, the food and facilities were great and our room gave us everything we could expect. Highly recommended

A great welcome where immediately we were upgraded to a superior room (without prompting) as the receptionist noticed we were a BWH rewards card holder.We were personally shown to our room which was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was self service on the first course but we had our second course cooked to order. Scrumptious breakfast.On departure we were wished a safe journey home. Excellent value. Will note this hotel for a future visit

Had several stays now. Staff always friendly, chatty and helpful. Food was very good! Beds are very comfy. The spa was lovely, quiet, clean and enjoyed very much!! I think the bathroom needs some tlc. The walls were a little black and the shower constantly dripped. Maybe the drain needs cleaning as water seemed to take forever to go down so we had a couple of floods as it was coming out. This was room 38 and the shower was the same last stay too. But lovely stay. Will recommend and stay again!!

Carpark is ok, limited for a long van. Room is a nice size and clean. You cant hear the busy road that is only yards away. Bathroom with bath and shower which is nice as you have a choice. Bed comfy and pillows to match. No complimentary breakfast to go with the booking. The thing that lets this place down is that it seems like it allows pets. Being allergic can make it uncomfortable if you happen to have the same room when you arrive. On my visit I had barking dogs next door which ruined my piece and quiet. Nice place to stat though.

This is turning into my annual pilgrimage, stayed in the fabulous master suite. Beautiful Tudor beams and bed, lovely furniture and the amazing Jacuzzi. A very reasonably priced and excellent evening meal along with some fine choices of wine. Again a really super experience!

Good appearance from the outside and the interior is lovely too. The delightful staff are very keen to please. Room 32 is on the first floor of the new wing and is great. The large modern bedroom is of an excellent standard with attractive fitted furniture and even room for a table and chairs. The shower room is small in relation to the bedroom and there is no bath but the shower cubicle is spacious enough for larger bodies. The downstairs spa is compact in size but beautifully presented. For dinner on the Sunday I had smoked salmon, roast beef and bread & butter pudding which were all extremely scrumptious and modestly priced. The cooked breakfast was equally delicious. Being winter time the special rate was amazingly good and the hotel exceeded our expectations. We will be happy to stay here again.

On arrival all looked ok , but from that point became disappointing My wife and I were given what is classified as a ‘superior room' (I use the words loosely indeed , tired decor , dusty , less than welcoming bathroom , music docking station that would not work properly , tv remote had a mind of its own , far too hot and situated over the kitchen which prevented a good nights sleep due to the noise of the extraction fans motoring on till gone 10pm and then fired up again at six , lovely ......... !!! The hotel staff were friendly enough but not enough of them of whic we found out in the afternoon when waiting 15 mins at the bar for a drink with myself eventually going to reception to request a team member to serve .the member of staff relaid the fact that they had a staff shortage as a large number had taken holiday at the same time(surely bad management of staff holidays ?), This was supposed to be a chilled two day break which with a disappointing room (recommended I might add by a member of staff) , bad service & the worse nights attempted sleep ever has tainted a planned chilled time ......

A typical best western hotel so far as the rooms are concerned. Reasonably large and well appointed and a very comfortable sleep. The food is of excellent quality and varied. Apart from the usual fish and chips, burgers or steak, various Italian dishes and then some real interesting offers such as a Cod and Prawns in a delightful sauce. Starters and sweets also interesting and well presented. However, the real success of this hotel is the staff. When we arrived the welcome from the receptionist (called Sarah I think) was exceptional and so helpful. The 2 managers also couldn't do enough to please with a special mention about Emma. The 4 of us were made to feel like we had joined a family and had one of the best stays away ever. Highly recommended.

A recent stay at this Best Western exceeded our expectations. A very pleasant, good size well equipped and very clean room with excellent modern bathroom. The bed was large and extremely comfy with good quality bedding. One bedside reading light was not working but this was no major problem. This hotel was in an excellent location for our needs and was a bargain price. The breakfast was very adequate for the price we paid but some items were unavailable and not replaced near to the end of service.

Just back from a corporate event in the hotel's lovely barn. The welcome at the hotel could not have been any better, Emma's smile greeted us and served us well at the bar, Julie the hotel manager served and looked after guests all evening with a smile on her face. The food was absolutely fantastic and served impeccably with time to chat during courses. The function room was beautifully dressed and lit up in amazing colours to match the companies logo. Excellent disco which could have gone on until the morning if there was not a finish time. Excellent modern room with great news over countryside Jonathan was very helpful on our departure and again another happy worker in this fab venue. Well done all at Brome Grange

We visited this hotel recently whilst en route to Norwich. It was easy to find being on the main A140, which was a bonus when driving in the dark in an unknown area. However the situation of the hotel did mean that traffic noise can be troublesome so it may be wise to request a quiet room for undisturbed sleep. The staff were very welcoming and we had chosen a superior double room. The room was a very good size, as was the bathroom which had a large walk in shower. A minor niggle and one that applies to many hotels. When designing hotel bathrooms even when they are of a very good size invariably nobody has thought to put some sort of shelf for wash bags. I do not like having to put them onto a bathroom floor. In this instance a shelf could so easily have been incorporated as there was ample room for one. Other than that everything had been thought of and we enjoyed a comfortable night's stay. Breakfast was limited, I would have preferred to just have a continental choice but unfortunately the bakery section was limited to toast that day. Having said that, I settled for the full English and it was excellent, well cooked and plentiful. We would use this hotel again.

I stayed here on business a couple of weeks back with a group of colleagues (quite a large group). We had dinner and we had a couple of extra people more than were booked. They seemed to make a bit of an issue of it even though it was not madly busy. Breakfast wasn't great as I couldn't catch any waiter's eye to order anything from the kitchen so had to make do with cerial and toast. Some basic training needed here. On the plus side, the rooms were great, the wifi good, free parking, good sleep quality and easy check in and check out. We maybe go them on a bad night.

Firstly I was booked by Expedia into the Cedars Hotel in Stowmarket and as I am disabled I requested an accessible room with roll in shower or wetroom. I paid my money only to get a phone call on the Sunday morning when I was just about to leave for Stowmarket to attend to a funeral when I got a call saying that expedia had put my request into Housekeeping why I dont know but that they did not have that type of room available but they had one in Diss 15 miles away. I got to this hotel which again is a Best Western Hotel Very beautiful evan in the dark. Now the reception lady whose name sadly I have forgotten was so apologetic and really was upset over Expedia's error. Fantastic hotel in all honesty and just one item which is serious one the entry to our room was a ramp but so steep and as i have a 6 wheeler power chair would not go up the ramp. So had to be helped into the room. Once in the room brilliant room wet room for shower just wonderful but as said the ramp needs resolving. Apart from the ramp would highly recommend this hotel and its staff.

Booked a two night 'romantic break' which is DBB basis. Overall was value for money and I would recommend this. Staff were friendly and helpful, the bar is quaint, had a welcoming real fire and the food was pretty good. However, there are some things that could be addressed to improve the place. Our room, 14, near the car park arch, was large and the heating was good and very controllable but the bathroom floor needs attention and the odd silverfish running around did not impress my wife! The car park potholes do need sorting. The long 'sofa' near the fire in the bar needs attention as the back of one seat is broken! I was a little disappointed in checking out to be presented with a bill for over £30 when it should have been under £10; indeed in view of the bad luck of their being no hot breakfast on our first morning (power cut, not the hotel's fault) and the fact that my wife never chose a dessert I did think this was an opportunity to show kindness and not charge me anything extra. The receptionist was unable to explain what the mistake was and did reduce the bill to the correct amount! Anyway, for what we paid, it was a pleasant stay. The site is 'out in the country' and you would have to drive to find food elsewhere but it is well placed to visit many Suffolk sights/sites. We were there midweek when it was very quiet so service was very good in the bar and restaurant, indeed we were sometimes on our own!

We stayed with friends whilst visiting the Suffolk area. Good location & a warm welcome by staff who also took us to our rooms , 30 & 38. Good sized rooms, large comfortable bed with tea/coffee making. The room was clean although the shower cubicle was showing signs of black mould... but ok. We had dinner for both nights of our stay . Unfortunately in the first night Service was rather slow and the ‘a la carte' meals were only warm and the chicken dish was dry & needed a sauce /ju. However the second night was much better with drinks being served promptly and the ‘ Brome standard ‘ meals were very good indeed ( gammon & fish ) On both evenings we relaxed in the bar by a lovely log fire. Breakfast was good on both mornings but on day one the young man serving was clearly very busy on his own & he was a little scruffily dressed. However on day two there were two staff at breakfast and service was much better. My wife and I shared a cream tea on Saturday afternoon in the bar/lounge which was very good and relaxing , she then went on to spend 1hr in the gym to burn off the calories! One thing, the self service counter is VERY high, I am 6'3” and I could reach everything but I had to get some things for my wife who is 5'1”. We enjoyed the stay, staff friendly & helpful, hotel generally clean, comfortable & quiet .

This was our first Christmas away and Julie & her staff made it a wonderful experience. Every staff member couldn't do enough to help us and always with what appeared to be genuine smiles on their faces. All the meals were excellent with a very good selection that helped my wife's strict diet. The entertainment was a very high quality as well particularly the dinner & dance on boxing day. The added bonus was that all the fellow guests we met were very easy to get on with and we can understand why so many of them return regularly. We shall certainly look to return in the near future.

We stayed 3 nights including News Years Eve, the staff were very attentive and if needed very helpful. Excellent dining facilities accompanied with a full range of a menu. Ideal location for Norwich or if you wish to tour the lovely Suffolk & Norfolk countryside.

Read a lot of reviews about dirty bathrooms ours was very clean staff were very helpful and made our stay extra special would defiantly stay at this hotel again great value for the money local area is lacking resteraunts.

Wonderful value for money. All meals were excellent. Excellent buffet on Christmas Evening also. Staff so polite and courteous and went out of their way to help. The General Manager, Julie, was so efficient and courteous and everything went according to plan. No complaints whatsoever for the money we paid. Even had a Christmas present each and sweets in trays in the bar, etc. The Boxing Day meal and disco were excellent also.

A lovely place to stay, great food & outstanding service. This hotel was in a great location for us. Even though our room was facing the road, we were never disturb. We arrived on Christmas eve & departed 27th. The entertainment was great. All meals were lovely.

Once again another good night in the barn. The food was great my lamb shank was cooked to perfection. A good band to dance to. All the staff were happy and very pleasant. A big thank you to Sarah Booty for making our night special here's to this year's New Year's Eve !! Keep up the good work everyone ...

After deciding to go away at Christmas at short notice and needing a dog friendly hotel there was not a lot of choice.....and after reading some of the reviews my expectations were not great......however....I was pleasantly surprised on arrival very warm welcome in reception,courtyard room larger than anticipated clean and comfortable bed, yes the bathroom is in need of an upgrade but it was clean and functional with plenty of hot water when needed. All the staff were great and worked hard especially Julie and Isabelle who never stopped trying to keep the guests happy a special mention also for Neville in the bar and also the young lad in the bar who's name i didn't get again working hard to keep the guests happy. Christmas Lunch in the Tithe Barn was delicious as were all the meals had on this Christmas package. To conclude............ a better than anticipated experience and yes the hotel is not the RITZ but then again how much would you pay at the Ritz! A very enjoyable stay at a very reasonable price. Thank you to everyone for going the extra mile at Christmas (when I am sure you would have rather been at home with family members than spending it with strangers)

The room although adequate, had damage curtains hanging down and poo stains on the toilet seat and lid. Evening meal, supposed to be two rosette rating was a disaster. I think everyone complained as the food was inedible. We later found out they did not have a chef that night. The poor young waiter should not have to take all that flack, he was devastated by some of the comments. We went down the next day for breakfast to be informed they had no eggs. Ridiculous. Lovely young receptionist and waiting staff. They should leave, as they deserve better than that.

We were originally intending to spend two nights here but cancelled the second one because of snow and we wanted to get home. First, the two good points about our stay. The reception team were first class - helpful, welcoming, pleased to show us to our room etc, and the second point - the bed was large and comfortable. But what a hotch potch of a place this is. Our room was in the 'motel' part of the set up and the bathroom was pretty bad - scruffy, chipped paint, black uneven industrial looking floor and lukewarm water at best for a morning shower. At breakfast, basically everything ran out in turn - plates, bread, juice, hot food and it was served in a room with a breakfast buffet so high it was impossible for my wife to reach for things at the back. The main building has been recently been refurbished but with corridors with large windows looking into offices it had an air of a school building. Would we stay again - no

What an awful smell!! Stayed in room 108 and it absolutely stank of a horrible damp musty smell. So much so that it gave me a headache. Even a fellow guest from another room noticed the smell. The room itself is hidden behind a separate door leading to two further rooms which the receptionist didn't explain so you wont find it. The room itself is looking tired and the plasterwork around the ceiling is in desperate need of repair. After going to reception about the smell, all I was offered was the remains of a bottle of air freshener! Awful!!! Very disappointed and won't be recommending! I actually may sleep in the car at this rate. The restaurant is also expensive and average at best. Did I mention the smell?

Stayed in a courtyard room with Blue my dog for 3 nights... Two other rooms were also booked for my dad and brother. I loved my room..... the furnishings... the large bed.... quality towels... My brother was pleased with his room....Very stylish and spacious... And Dad was also comfortable... Could not fault standard of cleanliness and facilities in the room. A couple of suggestions.... Great food - but a little inconsistent for the price you pay.... all members of staff should prepare/present food to the same standard. Breakfast great.... it would help if all the staff ask do you want beans and black pudding? otherwise they do not come on your plate... (3 mornings a bit of confusion about beans and black pudding!) Bar service - good - again confusion about what needs to be paid for... a slight lack of unity between staff - lines used such as "Well it wasn't me" and running off rather than "how can we fix this?" With a bit of support... Was resolved in the end. I only mention this as the service for the Guests would be improved and the workload on the staff would be reduced. ( As they would not be running back and forth to put things right ) I found all the staff to be friendly... and courteous....but just a little more attention to detail would go a long way. The restaurant Manager? Manager? was great.... friendly.. professional.. Room girls .... pleasant / helpful Receptionist..... great Overall.... the good aspects of the Brome Grange definitely outweigh any shortcomings... and in these events the staff do try to resolve any issues.... So... Thank you for a great stay ??

I don't normally review hotels as it would take a lot of my time having worked away over the last 19 years however; Stayed one night at the Brome Grange Hotel in room 117 £75pn which is a courtyard type room around the front carpark. On arrival front car park was full so had to park in the rear car park, pitch black no lights on a gravel/pothole surface thus trying to avoid puddles. Check in was ok presented my BW Diamond Select card which was jotted down and somehow i am pretty confident the points will not be added but we will see, receptionist didn't offer a gift (standard for the reward card level i hold) so I had to ask. Reserved a table in the restaurant for 19.30, Back out from reception across the carpark trying to find a path to my room as no lighting so danced across the soggy grass in my leather soled Italian shoes. On entry into the room it was freezing cold, turned the Thermostatic rad valve on and the radiator started to heat up threw my bags on the bed and headed to the restaurant, friendly waitress found me a table, my reservation hadn't been passed to the restaurant, sat me down and brought me a beer and a roll and a drip of oil so as i was settled then told me there was a wait for food, why not tell me before i sit down so i have a choice whether to stay or not, an hour and a half later i had eaten and did enjoy the food. Back in room i went to make a cup of tea, upon lifting the mugs there was tea stains on the paper protection which made me want to clean the mugs and spoons. Room had heated up enough not to give me frostbite. Bed was ok. Furniture in room was very worn and damaged in places. The theres the bathroom which can only be described as a slum, dirty walls, dirty door, i was reluctant to touch the dirty pull switch, cracked tiles, brown stains, more water running down the shower hose than out of the shower head, time for a shower before breakfast, oh no no hot water, rand reception oh we shall put it on boost, waited an hour still no hot water so had to bend over the bath and wash my hair with ice cold water and used wipes to freshen up and bit, got dressed and went to check out, mentioned the slum room, lack of hot water and the worst room i'd ever stayed in and how i was now missing breakfast due to waiting for hot water only to get the standard response ‘i shall pass your comments onto my Manager' It's not too much to ask that when staying in a hotel the room is warm, comfortable, clean and has hot water. Will not be staying here again and may even contact BW head office to air my views Mike P

The rooms were spacious but tired, which I could overlook but the cleanliness was disgusting. The carpets had big stains on them and appeared not to have been hovered for some time. The toilet bowl had dried faeces inside which was visable as soon as you entered the bathroom. Our friends in another room said their bath had not been cleaned either with scum marks all round it. My partner put his jacket over the back of a chair and when he put it on it was covered in white pet hair. I emailed direct to let them know how we felt and have had no response. There is no excuse for dirty rooms. On the plus side the towels were big, soft and clean as was the bedding.

Very large double room although the shower room was 'compact', but nice comfy bed. Pleasant bar area and very nice restaurant, food was fab. I had a shrimp and squid warm salad followed by rump steak washed down with a very reasonably priced bottle of Merlot (£19). Service was excellent in the restaurant but patchy in the bar and the bar maid didn't see a need to clear away a large number of glasses left on the side near the sink. The value for money was brought into question when I was checking out. I had paid in advance £90 for bed, breakfast and evening meal but this wasn't on the booking they received at the Grange. After some faffing I found my confirmation and all was OK. Highly recommended.

Lovely hotel (B&N basis), our room was very spacious and clean. Reception and breakfast staff found to be friendly and genuinely nice. Ideally situated, ample parking no road noise. I'd definitely recommend this hotel and use it again.

A "forced" stay as we had to be in the area for a family funeral.We had an excellent winter sale rate in a standard room. The room was large and clean with a large wardrobe with plenty of hangers (this seems to begetting rare these days). The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast - plenty of food at the buffet which was frequently topped up. Sausages and bacon were not of the highest quality but there was plenty of food.

Not sure what the hotel was before it became a BW, but felt as if it needed a good revamp. Staff were excellent, but can't change the infrastructure Room was adequate , but hotel was noisy at night. Every footfall echoed

We were greeted by a very friendly receptionist who escorted us to our superior room on the first floor. A beautiful room very large and comfortable, two easy chairs, comfy bed and a bathroom with a large shower. Everywhere in the hotel ...in our bedroom, bathroom and throughout the hotel, restaurant and bar...I purposely looked as I knew I would be reviewing the hotel...is spotlessly clean and I find the other reviews unfounded, unless the manager has addressed the recent problems. They have a lovely bar area and also seating outside, a few people were enjoying a drink. The restaurant was set out beautifully, low music and quite romantic...we enjoyed our starter and main course...quite busy and popular......again in the morning as it was Saturday they served a hot buffet breakfast...again very good. We asked for a pot of tea instead of the waiter serving by the cup and they obliged. I must congratulate all the staff on their friendly and chatty attitude..it was a pleasure to stay at the hotel. Only one negative...the red wine in the bar..I sampled each of the four bottles...you really must look into changing it..it really is appalling....even Lidl at £3.50 and £4 a bottle, is very easy drinking any of their wines...please..

Our niece had her wedding there last weekend. Lovely venue. Lovely room. Very disappointed with breakfast yesterday morning. Arrived in the breakfast room at 9.20, 40 minutes before the end of service. Everyone was hanging around for eggs. Sausages. Hash browns. Beans. Mushrooms. It was all coming out in dribs and drabs. The hash browns and beans were never replenished. The hotel knew how many guests they were catering for so why was the service so poor. It was a real shame as everything else was so lovely. Come on guys. Nothing like a good breakfast the morning after. Just one more thing, I'm not sure if there should be a late bar for residents but everywhere was shut at 12.

The hotel and the staff are excellent in every way. Rooms range from Standard to Superior. plenty of parking outside some of the accommodation. I stay here at least 24 times per year. Menu could be improved and menu price is excessive.

We had a nice room with a comfortable bed - always so important. There was a nice large bathroom, but the staff were not able to provide us with a rubber bath mat until the second night of our stay - I am on a mission to get these provided as standard in all hotels. It just isn't safe/good enough when they are not available. The shower temperature seemed to vary between hot and very hot. The restaurant was disappointing. On the first night the pork dish was dry and unappetising. Our group went elsewhere to eat on the second night. Breakfasts were OK, but on the second morning they had run out of smoked salmon, fruit salad and marmalade and seemed happy to continue without doing anything about it. (At a hotel we stayed at a few days later they apologised for not having any mushrooms and said someone had just rushed off to buy some and they would be available shortly if we didn't mind waiting.) Although some in our fussy group can be rather demanding, in other places issues have been resolved with charm. Charm is in short supply here. Disappointing as we generally love Best Western Hotels.

Very comfortable twin bed room. Very convenient for Diss, Norfolk. Breakfast is included. Friday breakfast is ordered and comes from the Kitchen. Saturday was buffet self service breakfast, which was much preferred.

The hotel has easy access and the food at dinner and breakfast were fine. However the room I was put in was not in very good condition - the bathroom in particular was poor - but the main issue is that the room (and much of the rest of the hotel) needed to be cleaned properly. I reported this to reception who did not seem to be very interested - I will tell them housekeeper was all I was told

We stayed last year and had a brilliant stay. This year we stayed for two nights at the beginning of September and then three nights a week later. We had prepaid and so went back! We were very disappointed with numerous things. The positives....The room was great (superior twin). Housekeeping did a great job. Julie (manager), Tracy (restaurant manager) and the bar man did excellent jobs but seemed to spend most of their time apologising for other people's mistakes and filling in the gaps. We had booked for lunch on 1st September as we had a guest. The restaurant was empty and no table was set. I had to find a waiter, Robert, myself. The meal was fine but very slow as Robert disappeared and did not clear the starters or mains in a timely manner. I then had to find him to ask for one tea and two ice creams. The tea came quickly but the ice creams too 30 minutes - very embarrassing with a guest - and they were melting. . The restaurant seemed to have a big problem with flies which is not very nice when you are trying to entertain a guest and have to keep swatting them away. I mentioned this to Robert after the starters and he gave us a napkin to swat with!!!! No apology! On our second visit there was a new menu. More expensive. More flowery prose descriptions. No daily specials. We tried the menu. The starters were excellent. The mains. UGH....the hake was served in a bowl...well cooked but the crumb coating was a fine dust and underneath were seven potatoes and the bottom half of the bowl was samphire (well cooked but far too much) and baby vegetables swimming in a salty liquid/liquor. I could not eat much as it was all so soggy and salty. What is wrong with hake on a plate, with samphire, potatoes and dots pea puree with pea shoots? Choose "the bar menu" for good, well priced options. Fortunately for the last dinner we had the option of a specials menu. The chicken supreme, veg and pommes dauphinoises was absolutely excellent BUT the menu description ended with"cafe au lait". The waiter (Robert) did not know what milky coffee had to do with the chicken and a sous chef came to explain that it was the gravy and cream mix which looked like milky coffee. We ordered the food with just the gravy (excellent) and NO cream. Breakfasts were SO DISAPPOINTING. When Tracy was on things went well (two other members of staff should have been there but weren't). On other days things ran out - bread, plates, bacon, eggs (all very basic) and on the Sunday the manager and deputy manager had to help and even then no hot food was available until 8.15 (chefs watch was late). We had a ferry to catch and so only had yogurt and toast. It's a shame but I don't think that we will be going back to this hotel again .

The staff are great but the hotel and cleaning need to be improved. Rooms are tired, and not cleaned properly. Our room had items of clothing from the previous occupant and used sanitary ware in the bathroom bin.The corridor carpets are stained and dirty. We had a meal within the restaurant on one evening. We were disappointed with the overpriced and potentious food and so did not eat there again. The hotel has the potential to be a great destination but requires a great deal of care, remodelling, attention to detail.

We stayed here for two nights to attend a family wedding. We stayed in the new rooms which very comfortable, other friends and family stayed in the classic rooms which are definitely in need of renovation e.g. wobbly beds, as is the honeymoon suite e.g. Dirty stained carpet, where the newly wed couple stayed. There were definitely not enough staff to cope with the wedding and the large number of guests staying although you can not fault the staff that were on duty for the weekend. Despite these negatives the bride & bridegroom had a fantastic day.

The hotel outside is nice, the “double” room was just two single beds pushed together, the food was acceptable (when available), the staff were happy and willing to help, a special mention to Tracy, always helpful and nothing was too much trouble, and should be promoted. Also must mention Julie the manageress. Its advertised as a hotel and spa, so booked in advance spa treatments, we received a phone call from JONATHAN (spa manager) to say he would email to confirm (did not happen).after arriving JONATHAN spoke to us just as we started to eat our evening meal he explained that he thought he had emailed us confirmation, we found later that he only dealt with our treatment request that evening, the spa itself is small, the changing rooms were in poor condition. On the third day a lot more chlorine had been added in the Jacuzzi and had to leave as our eyes were stinging!! JONATHAN does not seem to have the required customers services or spa skills, this heavily advertised spa fails to deliver, although the hotel is acceptable

We have stayed here before and found it very good but this time we were very disappointed with numerous things. The restaurant seems to have a big problem with flies which is not very nice when you are trying to enjoy a romantic meal and have to keep swatting them away . They kept running out of various different items of food even such basic things as bread and cheese at breakfast and housekeeping don't seem to think it is there job to remove dirty glasses from the room and we had to keep returning them to the bar ourselves. The only member of staff that seemed to know what they were doing was Tracy and she seemed to spend most of her time apologising for other people's mistakes.It's a shame but I dont think that we will be going back to this hotel again .

My Wife and I wanted to spend our anniversary in a country location in suffolk and opted for the Honeymoon suite with fourposter bed and jacuzzi. For an evening that we were looking forward to, we have both come away disappointed. The Jacuzzi bath was filthy with lots of hair in the jets and plug hole. The Shower room and toilet were in the same state with hair in the shower tray and lime scale on the screens. The bed was very comfy however I had a really troubled night sleep as the main door to the room had gap all the way around so this made the room very chilly, on top of this the path is gravel outside the room and I had people walking up and down until 3am which kept me awake. Food was really nice at the hotel but unfortunately there was no atmosphere in the dining area and one to many flies. The staff were excellent and a pleasure to meet although the accomodation was well below average which has left us very disappointed.

I stayed in one of the Chalet rooms two beds pushed together to make a large bed.Saying that I had my best sleep for a long time in a hotel I stay away on business a lot .The room was clean and tidy and had everything you want ,I feel it needs some TLC like a repaint .On the Saturday night there was a party on till 11 ish with loud music no problem ,would have been nice to be told about it before hand because I didn't know how long it was going to be on for it could have gone onto the early hours and I was up at 7 on the Sunday morning . Breakfast was excellent Dinner was ok for me ,Staff helpful. Would I stay again YES

We stayed in a chalet bedroom with twin beds. The room overlooked the car park. Decor needs updating and new carpets needed. I found the bathroom a bit grotty. The food in the restaurant was really lovely. The staff were friendly and obliging.

Following our original wedding location closing permanently, we succeeded in booking Brome Grange - Tithe Barn for our July wedding with just two months to go! Johnathan was great, if a little overun. More of our guests were able to book to stay there both before and on the night of our wedding, which added to our experience. The rooms we used were well presented and clean, staff friendly and helpful and the food we had in the bar the night before was lovely. The Tithe Barn was just beautiful! Simple decorations made it sparkle and the old-time feel of it was wonderfully romantic... so much better than our original location! We and our guests had a fabulous time there, so thanks to Jonathan, Julie and all at Brome Grange. We really appreciated finding you and be able to book with you for our wedding.

The staff were all lovely that we encountered but the room was basic and not as clean as I would like - just needed a bit of tlc. Great location if you are en route somewhere for a stop over and plenty of places nearby. Not a hotel to it and relax in but great for a base.

From the moment we arrived until we left the service was very good, Staff really friendly and helpful, eating in the restaurant on 1st night - meal was very good, fresh cooked , nice and hot and reasonably priced. Room was clean and roomy. Cleaned daily. Fresh clean towels etc. Hairdryer, iron & ironing board. Plenty of tea & coffee for room. Bar not too busy but again really friendly staff taking time to chat inbetween serving. Nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely return.

Had a 2 night stay here including dinner and breakfast. We were celebrating our anniversary. Staff are lovely and friendly and the evening meals were excellent. The bar tender was a lovely guy and very chatty. However some things let the hotel down which is a shame. Our room wasnt cleaned properly, the bed wasnt made just the duvet pulled up over the creased sheet, the bin wasnt emptied and the complimentary bottle of prosecco from the night before left in the room with the used glasses, the shower gel wasnt replaced either. Breakfast on the first morning was cold.The tea offered at breakfast is in a tiny cup and is poured for you when you arrive so is cold before you drink it. No one mans the spa giving people the impression it is closed. We booked a massage each in advance, before we arrived which we were supposed to have on the Sunday and were really looking forward to.However it seems the duty manager Jonathan was also doing the massages as well as manning reception and dealing with other issues.We arrived at the treatment rooms and my partner went in first while I went into the spa, however he was left on the massage bed for approximately 25 minutes with jonathan popping in and out but no sign of the massage starting. We were very dissapointed as we had been looking forward to it. I believe most of these things could be remedied with better deployment of staff. This could be a lovely place to stay but some staff are over stretched which leads to these failings.

We had a 2 night stay including dinner and breakfast to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. I cannot fault the service and hospitality we received during our break. The moment we arrived we were given a tour of the hotel, luggage taken to our room for us. We received a complimentary dessert for our anniversary. We were well looked after and took full advantage of the spa, including a facial and massage.The room was clean and tidy and had everything we needed. The food in the restaurant was beautiful. The staff were amazing, from reception, restaurant, housekeeping and bar staff. All of which I will be emailing for the 'Jewel' recognition. Thank you all for making our weekend perfect. We would love to visit again soon.

Working for a local company and living in Berkshire, I have stayed here a couple of nights a month since January. All the staff are very friendly, especially Tracy and Isabelle. Thank you for making staying away from home fun!

It is situated between Norwich and Ipswich, so it is good if you need to service or visit both locations. It is remote, as it is set on the A140. If you upgrade to the executive rooms, then you should not have any problems at all. I have not stayed in a standard room, as these were in need of some tlc the last time I did.

On a very, very hot evening the staff couldn't have been better helping our meeting and dinner to be conducted without a hitch.The meal was produced efficiently and on time and was delicious.70 people were served with a smile. The Tithe Barn was a good venue with its own kitchen and bar separate from the hotel.

The overall rating is 'very-good' due to the excellent staff, lovely location, decent food etc. However, whilst the weather was fairly warm during my stay, it certainly wasn't as warm as it will be this summer which leads me to the only negative. The room; blinking boiling due to a window that would barely open (health and safety no doubt) and no air-con. A fan was requested but all were in use with other guests. This was a 'superior' room (R29) and very well appointed. However, a sauna was an extra most guests could do without!! Management please take note.

We stayed here as we had a wedding and we thought it would be handy. We managed to have an early check in and so we dropped off our bags and proceeded to the wedding. It wasn't until we came back from the wedding that we realised the standard of the room fell short of what I would expect a major hotel chain to be. In particular the bathroom was somewhat hazardous, especially as I have a young child, the bath cover was broken at one side leaving dangerously sharp edges. There was mold around the bath and general brown grime inside the bath. Breakfast was a bit of a shambles, no one seemed to know what they were doing, running around and having to wait for basics like eggs and beans. We asked for a highchair and we were presented with the most disgusting highchair I have ever seen in my life, a member of staff apologised but this is not acceptable because it was not ok as the highchair had more than one previous occupant. There was gravy and stickiness and everything. The wedding was lovely, it was a shame about our accommodation experience especially as we booked it months in advance.

I had a last minute booking as I usually travel through the country. The staff was really helpful and my room was nice and clean. The breakfast was perfect and for sure I will come back on my next sheduled trip.

My last stay in a Best Western was my worst ever in any hotel (it wasn't this one). We booked for one night the 'honeymoon' room with four poster bed and jacuzzi. On arrival the manager immediately came to apologise that the jacuzzi button was not working, but took the time to show us the hotel and explain a workaround for the jacuzzi. The room was spacious and had his n her showers in the bathroom. The customer service and friendliness of the staff continued throughout our stay. The breakfast was excellent and tasted much better than most hotels and the girl at checkout was very good. Downsides - the room is at the front of the hotel so you can hear the road, and every car leaving and arriving. Additionally you can hear staff in I think the kitchen which is adjacent to the bathroom. This didn't bother us, but it will some people. My only other feedback is if you are going to serve coffee at breakfast as a waited service then mugs would be better than cups - not enough coffee for me. Overall - yes we'd definitely come back and stay again, and stay in that room.

I stay at the Brome Grange regularly with work and usually it is very good. The rooms are clean and the beds very comfortable. However on my most recent occasion the shower was only lukewarm and the shower head was damaged so there was a poor spray. Outside of the room there was a general sign of poor maintenance, the grass had not been cut and litter and leaves on the paths which is a shame as it is a beautiful setting. That said I wouldn't hesitate going back as it's still better than most in the area - but please sort the hot water!

We booked here to attend a funeral in nearby Eye. Upon arrival we were shown to a superior room which was enormous! We had booked it for £65 B&B it had a massive bed and tasteful furnishings and a very nice ensuite.The room was very clean and tidy. It was at the front and not far from the Norwich road. It was quiet inside with good double glazing but noisy if you opened the window! The breakfast was very good and the staff were friendly. We were pleased with the hotel but it may be worth asking for a room further back from the road but at that price you may not get a superior room as we did.

I would recommend you book well in advance as this hotel is often full! Not surprising as it is a great place for a quiet break, or the business traveller. Their full English breakfast is a classic masterpiece - one which sets you up for the day! There is a small gym & plenty of free parking. If you are a light sleeper, ask for a back room as the hotel fronts onto a busy main road. The shower and bathroom fittings are of good quality in the refurbished block, and comfortable large beds. The staff are all smiling, cheerful & helpful. This was our second visit and we will doubtless be back again! The reception lady (Sarah?) with whom I spoke prior to our visit was very helpful in locating the room we had last year in quietest part of the hotel & did some re-shuffling to ensure we had the same quiet relaxing visit.

We stayed for 5 nights after being told at BW Brook hotel in Norwich that they don't accept pets despite it being shown as such on TripAdvisor. The hotel is on the busy Ipswich to Norwich road but at least they accepted our 2 dogs as guests albeit in a courtyard room. This was not a problem in itself but was quite noisy. On one night in particular, an inconsiderate German van driver left the generator running on his refrigerated truck. This may be a regular problem as it appears to be used as a bit of a truck stop. Having said all that, the staff were very friendly and the dinners were good. The breakfasts are buffet style on weekends but we were waited on in midweek. The room was a general 3 star standard, clean but in need of renovation. I guess this is where they put the dog people. A final note to dog owners, being on the busy road there are no easy walks, I had to drive into Eye where there is a community field and woodland area.

The staff are wonderful however the room smelt dreadfully. The smell of sweaty bodies and the bathroom of drains. I did report this to the reception but seem to be a bit disinterested. I also had friends staying there at the same time as me and they too complained. This place needs a complete refurb. The two rooms which I looked at were so dark and dingey. The breakfast was good however there was no room by the side of the serving dishes to put your plate so difficult to serve there needs to be more room available for people to help themselves safely. Carpets all leave a lot to be desired. I am sorry to have to report this as I don't like to give a bad review but I would stay clear of this place until it has been upgraded.

We stayed here in 2016 and although the place was ok we were extremely let down by the quality of service and lack of breakfast choice and the unprofessional way the staff operated. After some discussions with Julie Campbell, we chose this venue again this year and what a difference. The staff were far more attentive and caring..........basically doing their job but in a far more professional manner. I do feel on both occasions the rooms seemed a little tired and in need of some TLC which actually wouldn't cost an awful lot but it would make the stay more comfortable. The hotel industry is cut throat and I feel Brome Grange could easily succumb to lack of investment and become tatty which would be a shame as it is ideally situated. On our first visit last year we stayed in the upstairs in the refurbished rooms we could not fault it, I booked again this year and asked for one of these rooms and was told that 1 was available when we arrived we were told we were in the Courtyard rooms we went and complained and we were told that the only other room was a small double so we had no choice but stay in the Courtyard room, What a Difference from the last time it was like staying in a different Hotel, We did not have a tray or milk & coffee. I went and asked Jonathan for some it was like asking for Gold Bars, the extractor in the bathroom did not Work, The bath had a big chip on the bottom and Very Sharp, both the Sink taps said Hot on them, the Bath panel was very shabby, there was no Glasses, The Toilet Rolls were very cheap 1ply. We thought the room was in need of a Urgent Make over as it was so Shabby and Lacking Maintenance and would not stop there again

I found the staff and room at a good standard my stay was very relaxing and if you need anything the staff are always willing and happy to help I have stayed at the Brome several times now so they must be doing something right thank you to all the staff and I will be back

I stayed in a courtyard room as I was impressed last time I visited. Unfortunately, this was not the case this time round. The springs were sticking through the mattress on the bed. Call my picky, but in this day and age, I would expect a mattress fit for purpose. The food in the restaurant was overpriced in relation to portion sizes (I did not dine there on my previous visit). There were different chefs on on the two separate nights I dined. I ordered the same starter (salmon) and on the 2nd night the portion was half the size! In all I would say that some investment in the courtyard rooms is a necessity and standardising portion sizes would be a good idea. On departure, I was not even asked if I enjoyed my stay as is the norm in other Best Westerns I have visited. I don't feel that I got value for money at all so won't be returning.

Booked a weekend break to get away from it all to recuperate and recharge the batteries. This whole weekend was nothing short of superb from the delightful, helpful staff, a bedroom with plenty of room and the comfiest bed I've encountered and my goodness, have they got a chef who really knows his stuff. I have dined at other establishments where the food cost considerably more but the quality was nothing like the food we encountered here, absolutely superb, good value and beautifully presented. This hotel is a hidden gem just off the nightmare road that is the A140 but once in the courtyard you are at peace in this relaxed atmosphere. Finally, the staff - friendly, efficient and nothing too much trouble. If you are looking for a break or a base to explore the beautiful county of Suffolk then I can thoroughly recommend this hotel. Loved it and yes, thoroughly relaxed and batteries recharged!!!

There are several room plans and styles at this hotel. We were offered a courtyard room with parking directly outside. As in any hotel ask to see another room if not to your liking. Staff were efficient and prompt. Breakfast on par with other Best Western hotels. Location is remote but with a handy pub just 3 minutes walk away. Great place for a stop over.
