The bar was absolutely amazing! Alicia, Chelsea and Meagan were great! We had an amazing time hanging out with them. The hotel is very clean and cozy. We will definitely be back soon! Breakfast is great, and I could not be happier with my experience.

Very clean and quaint hotel. The staff were exceptional and very engaging. Shout out to Alicia for her hospitality. Surprised by the phenomenal bourbon selections at the bar with affordable prices. I'll certainly stay at the Finial for my next trip.

Loved the atmosphere. Alicia the bartender was the best. I would definitely recommend staying here. Next time I am in Anniston I will definitely stay here. They were very friendly and helpful with food locations and recommendations . If you are looking a quaint spot look no further than here.

The hotel exterior looks inviting but don't be fooled. Terrible experience from start to finish. We arrived at 8:00 pm at the registration desk located in a crowded bar with no one available at the check in kiosk. Eventually I was able to get the attention of the bar tender who was not pleased to assist but managed to pull herself away to provide my room key. I was then instructed to park in the lot located at the far end of the property and walk in the pouring rain with all of our luggage to the other side of the property to access our room. There was no luggage cart, covered area or assist offered. When we entered our room, it was not cleaned well, smelled pungent and sour; the bed was lumpy and uncomfortable with scratchy sheets. & blanket. The window air conditioning unit was loud and located beside the bed blowing cold air directly on us all night. Just when I thought it couldn't be worse, I found the toilet leaking all over the bathroom floor in the morning. This hotel is disgusting. We didn't bother with breakfast and couldn't leave quickly enough!

Everything went well. Everything was clean and modern and the complimentary breakfast experience was beautiful in the older mansion building. I would definitely stay here again. I like that the facility is secure, even the parking lot is safe as it is all gated in.

Beautiful mansion. Large room. Poor service. Bad breakfast. Will not stay there again. We chose this room because it was the only room with a walk in shower. The water in the bathroom sink took 5 minutes to get hot. The room was cold and the thermostat was in the public hallway. Called reception for a blanket- had to leave a message- they never called back.

We lucked out with this one! When we're traveling I try to find us a place to stay on the fly, depending on how far we've driven that day. Have a loyalty card with Best Western, and glad I did. This is a 130 year old home on a hill near downtown district. There are some rooms in the house itself including an attic suite. The original carriage house is the reception area and bar. Anna was dual duty check in and bartender. Quiet spoken, but personable. I believe you can also stay in the former caretaker cottage. We had a room in the new building by the pool. Room had a separated desk nook with a bay window. The hot Breakfast was constantly being refreshed by the chef working in the converted kitchen, and was delicious.

Advertises all these “great” features but ALL are nothing but lies. First, the fireplaces do not work, they're closed off, not even a fake fire. 2. The jacuzzi tub won't fill with hot water unless YOU trip the Circuit Breakers for hot water (had to reset 5x). 3. Bring your own bedding as they only provide a sheet & a thin coverlet (it was 40') 4.The TV ~ the remotes only work if you stand near the TV which NEGATES having a REMOTE!!! Save your money, time & energy and stay at a property that CARES. Jacob failed in every possible way of providing a pleasant & comfortable stay.

This is a great property! I'll stay here again when I go back to Taladega it's very romantic, cute, close to downtown, and has a nice bar. The room was clean and very cute, we got the cottage, I recommend that room.

Very pretty, clean, yet leaving nice historical features and feel. View from the top suite is splendid! Breakfast buffet was delicious and ample area to dine with gorgeous home feel. Interior chandeliers and stained glass design, beautiful furniture gave such luxurious experience! The bathrooms were updated and clean! The pool was closed for the season but kept up nicely (clean surface) and plenty of terrace room. The gate system keeps security level high for staying here. It's walking distance to downtown Anniston. I'd totally come stay here again!!

Super cute hotel. Amazing property. Great breakfast. Very close to the hospital. Everyone was friendly and helpful. If you're going to be near Tupelo on your travels, come out to the cute town of Aniston and relax at an amazing old mansion!

Very cozy place to stay, not in the bed of neighborhood but isnt bad.I would go back and stay when it was warmer so that i would be able to swim in the pool. Breakfast was great every morning i was there.

A great place to stay with a wonderful Victorian style mansion used for breakfast. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Staff is very accommodating and extremely friendly. Breakfast is very good and the atmosphere in the Old house is very relaxing. Highly recommend

Decided to stay in a historic setting and was not disappointed. Nice, clean accommodations and the house is beautiful. Having a hot breakfast buffet each morning was wonderful and started the day off right. I look forward to staying again.

Historic, beautiful property. Grounds were clean and well kept. Our room was large and comfortable. Staff is helpful, knowledgeable and polite. Breakfast was amazing! It is in the old Victorian house on the property. Make sure to take the time to appreciate this house built in the late 1800's. We would definitely stay here again.

The event booked the majority of the rooms for this special event and wanted to get some first hand coverage from a few of the workers of the hotel as to how proud we were to choose it. Every member of the hotel declined to talk about the importance of veterans and how it didn't effect them personally so they had no comment for the event. I even asked if they were excited that so many chose this hotel to be the center of the event and the best response I got was “I don't want to talk about vets or the event or why they close us” David at the front desk was the most aggressive that he wanted no part to support veterans and wanted someone that beloved in that “sort of thing” to do it. A very discouraging night after traveling 800 miles to a place that doesn't want to show any appreciation for the veterans that have so much for our freedom. Then I even said you don't have to be recorded in anyway just to give me come insight on the property and the importance of veterans he said it was none of his business.

The property is great - landscaping is beautiful and our room was clean & large. The best part of our stay was Cheyenne and Teddy's hospitality. They got us checked in, made great recommendations for dinner and served us at the cute bar. Will definitely stay again!

Give this place a look. We stayed in the McElroy suite. That's in the main house where breakfast is also served. The house is a stately mansion that is just gorgeous to view in every room, upstairs and downstairs. The bar is one of a kind, with an awesome bartender that was great to interact with.

This is a beautiful hotel. The staff here are amazing, very helpful and accommodating. The grounds are clean and well kept. The main house is gorgeous! We stay in a king bedroom outside of the main house and it was nicely updated, super clean, and had a very comfortable bed. The breakfast bar had a nice selection of warm breakfast food to choose from and was very tasty that was included with your stay. I would definitely recommend staying here if you are in the area!

Stayed @ Hotel Finial three weeks ago for a wedding. The rooms are excellent, staff amazing, super breakfast & incredible service. They made everyone feel like part of their family! When having breakfast, the rooms take people back in time to the wonderful architecture in the 1800's with amazing fireplaces!

Stayed in the Grand Ballroom suite. It was very beautiful and spacious. They had a great breakfast with alot of different choices. The only negatives i will say is needs a bigger trashcan and the ceiling fan was really dusty.

We got there around 8:00 The guy at the desk was helpful and friendly . He gave us a name of a pizza place since I was craving it. I had to call and ask if he knew the number to the place.He gave it to me and it was great pizza. The room was very spacious and clean. I would recommend, this hotel to anyone.

minutes ago on Google We had an emergency at Christmas Eve and needed a room. We chose the Finial because we wanted to get a very nice room with some exclusivity, we never stayed there before. Reservations were made and we came to check in. Two clerks behind the counter checked us in, nothing special until they told us 3rd floor outside unit stairs are on the breezeway. My husband is a disabled veteran that can not climb stairs but on the way in we saw a sign that said elevators so surely it would be fine. We parked and b.t.w they only have two handicapped parking spaces, took out overnight bag out and got to the elevator in the freezing cold just to see a sign that read " due to freezing temperatures the elevator is out of order" We made it up to the room, which was nothing special not worth the money for sure. Regular room that you can get anywhere, wall paper came off the of the wall and carpet was so thin and dirty we wore out shoes. We really just wanted to shower and maybe rest a bit because our pipes burst at our house but it wasn't possible. Kids were running along the outside hallway constantly and like I said it wasn't clean. We showered and left. We came back to checkout and April was at the desk and we told her that there was no way we could have stayed because off the stairs. If we wanted to get food we wouldn't have been able to make it back up. She told us she didn't know anything because she wasn't here, I explained that the guys from last night didn't let us know the elevator was out of order at all. Again, silence I said my husband is a disabled veteran who cannot climb three flights of stairs, silence. We gave her the keys and I let her know that I would write a review about this place. Here comes the banger, I was in the car reading their bill and see that they give military or retired military 10% off the bill plus this place is not privately owned anymore but it's a BEST WESTERN. I called April and asked her why we didn't get our 10% she said she'd forgot. Don't stay there

We spent 2 nights here celebrating our 10th anniversary. We chose this hotel based on its proximity to Cheaha State Park and the great reviews. I loved that it was a unique hotel. Our room was very nice, modern, and clean. It did have an door to an adjoining room and we could hear the neighbor's TV the second night, but sleeping with a sound machine sufficiently blocked it out. The breakfast was very good, especially on Saturday. Hot grits with toppings, bacon, sausage, chicken tenders, biscuits, waffles, bagels, eggs, potatoes, cereal, yogurt, pastries, fruit, milk, juice, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and iced water were all available! It was a short drive to the Anniston Museums which we enjoyed on one day of our trip. We also found lots of dining options in neighboring Oxford only 10 minutes away. I would certainly recommend it to others and consider staying here again in the future.

My husband and I spent 1 night passing through Anniston, AL. This hotel is very comfortable and has a great breakfast. The main house is decorated beautifully and the atmosphere for breakfast is relaxing. I highly recommend staying if in the area.

This hotel is amazing! The location is clean and the staff are very friendly. The full breakfast is just that a full breakfast. We choose to stay at this location each year for our family Christmas Party. Each year we add another room.

This is a beautiful historic old house. With the hotel part added later. I stayed here for a funeral and it was very clean and quiet. The property is gated and there are cameras everywhere. Rooms are very clean and updated. Breakfast was in the main old house. It was delicious and had lots of comfortable seating. I would totally stay here again. I can't wait to bring my wife. She will love it.

This beautifully restored in most likely will not be where you will sleep; however do not let that deter you from planning a visit. We were in this very small own during a road trip to visit area National Parks. What a lovely surprise! Most reservations will be for the “purpose built” modern 3-story hotel in the rear of the property. The complimentary breakfast is served in the old inn. If you can, stay on the 3rd floor in the new wing, but be sure that it is serviced by the elevator, as there is a handful of rooms that are only accessed by stairs. That is also the case for the very beautiful rooms in the old house (which are furnished with a very contemporary gray decor). Definitely worth an overnight if you're in the area.

Ever since driving past this hotel a few years ago I wanted to visit. It was such a pleasant experience staying on this property two days ago. Our king room with a bay window was lovely. When I arrived in the main house at 6:30 am breakfast was ready and beautiful piano music filled the home. Later I enjoyed a chat with the pianist but upon arriving I quickly poured a cup of coffee and made many photos before other guests arrived.

We live in North Alabama and like to go leaf peeping every year and decided to so south this time. We visited Cheah State Park and we love Bed and Breakfast for their wonderful breakfast and beauty. I found this online as one of the fop hotels in the state. The whole gated hotel is absolutely top notch. The rooms are huge and the carriage house where you check in and houses the bar is brilliant in the style and atmosphere there. The bartender made the best drinks and we enjoyed feeling like a local. The breakfast the next morning in the main house was over the top and the beauty was stunning! I highly recommend staying here and will do so again soon!

We stayed here at a friend's recommendation. Tried to book online, but the hotel was full. So I called on the off-chance that something opened up and was offered the McKleroy Suite. It was a minor step-up price-wise from the regular rooms, and definitely worth it to stay in the mansion. The suite was only a room, but very well-appointed. Just walking up the elegant central stairway made it a special experience!

We were so impressed by the Finial! Beautifully restored and maintained original building with modern, comfortable rooms. Breakfast was a true delight...a true Southern buffet featuring eggs & bacon or sausage, grits, biscuits and gravy and so much more, cooked perfectly by our chef! And what a fountain of knowledge she was,

Resevations were easy staff was very helpful no problem wit late check in. Room was very nice and very well kept cleaing staff was helpful and easy to find. Breakfast had a very good selection and kept stocked and hot. We had a wonderful time and when we come back to the area we will be staying at the Hotel Finial.

The South is known for hospitality, and the Hotel Finial embodies that idea. The people were warm and friendly and helpful. The facility was clean and beautiful. I want to return and bring back family members and friends. This would be an excellent place for a group of several friends to have a special few days.

We stayed in a suite in the Victorian house and it was really nice! Spacious and luxurious and close to the breakfast room. The room was quiet and comfortable...we would stay there again! The parking lot and property are gated and secure.

Best hotel experience in the Anniston/Oxford/Jacksonville area! Well worth the extra couple of dollars! The breakfast buffet was excellent - full, homemade meal. Not pre-made & frozen as other hotels in the area serve. The room was great - clean & very well kept.

The staff was fantastic and the room super fresh and clean. The hotel was absolutely beautiful. You can really feel the history it tries to tell. Breakfast in the mornings taste fantastic and the best food I've had in a hotel to date. Staff treated my husband and I like friends and made us feel so welcome. 10/10 Bonus points for the hotel kitty who I lovingly named Bacon.

I have been traveling for work and staying at this location weekdays for the last 6 months. I have always had a great experience especially from the night staff. The bar area has just about anything you could want, breakfast is also great.

Hotel Finial is a beautiful piece of Anniston's history. The big house where breakfast is served is so pretty and the breakfast that is served was better than any hotel that I have stayed in. The room that I had was nice and the staff in the office were very helpful. I was traveling alone and felt very secure because of the gated entries to the hotel. I would stay here again.

The hotel is great. We stayed in a bay room and chose a room at check in that was on the same level as the pool which was super convenient. Rooms have fridge and are nicely appointed. Staff was very friendly and bar was great. I would definitely stay here again if i needed to stay a hotel in Anniston.

First off I love that the parking lot is gated. This truly is one of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed in. The service is great and the employees are friendly and helpful. If you love hard to get liquor, you have to check out their bar.

Our suite in the main house was beautiful but being notified that the only way to the room with our bags was up two flights of stairs without an assistance at all was more than we bargained for. There was not elevator available and the staff at check in was unwilling to offer any assistance. Once in the room it was very nice but the decorative throw was covered in something crusty which made me question the cleanliness of the rest of the room. The main thermostat for our room was in the main hallway and each night the temperature was set so low that we were freezing and the air conditioner stayed running loudly all night. The bedding was very light so we were pretty cold each night. There were only 4 parking spots convenient to the main house so parking was also a challenge, especially when we were lugging all of our things down the antique stairs and out to our vehicle. While beautiful, I would not recommend staying in the main house.

We stayed in the cottage by the pool. It definitely isn't for the price that is listed. Cottage is right beside the pool gate so constant traffic or people trying to peek in...actually had one man open the door and come in to look.The cottage was ok clean. Window units smelled like wet dog. Definitely needed a good dusting. Jet bathtub shot black gunk out into my bath water. The pool was dirty. Front staff didn't seem to care when I told her about it. All in all the room takes pretty pictures, but that is all.

This is a great spot for family or business trip stays. Lots of hiking and biking and other things to do nearby. This hotel and staff were great. Not was a nice home base to come back to each day/night. Easy access and centrally located to the area. Away from the hustle of Oxford Exchange but close enough to buzz down and get what you need.

Made a bicycle trip from Atlanta to Anniston and this was a great location to finish that trip. The hotel is beautiful. It has a full bar for the evening. The pool was great and very refreshing. The room was very nice. All the staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Rooms are nice and clean for average price, however After first night made us switch rooms due to a leak below us, moved all our things in the rain to main building, that room was occupied. Moved once again in the rain to another building. No offer for discount for inconvenience.

The hotel lobby (the building for check in) looks sketch but the outside of the hotel looks good at first glance. However, upon closer inspection, it could benefit from some maintenance and updating. My room was dark, a bit dirty and the closet was very musty smelling. There was blue stuff in the shower, evidence of brushed teeth behind the sink and I'll assume, dead bugs in a corner of the room on the wall . The stairwells and elevator are in need of a good cleaning. The way to get to the rooms and the main house is a confusing and there was a cat roaming the premises. Breakfast was good but some the plates and flatware were not clean. It's in the downtown area. Part of the area looks really nice, the other, up and coming. Not sure why some of the reviews are 5 star but I would not stay here again.

We throughly enjoyed this wonderful hotel off the beaten path, but close to some great downtown dining options like Classic on Noble, Effinas and the new Coldwater brewery. Great breakfast buffet. Lots of choices! Enjoyed sitting the enclosed glass front porch while we ate. Property is very unique!

This is an absolutely beautiful hotel. The rooms were great, spacious and clean and the beds were very comfortable. Loved the breakfast and the bar was great. We will definitely be staying here again. We travel to this area at least twice a year and will always use this hotel.

If you are traveling through Alabama, make the Hotel Finial a destination. We can't imagine a more tranquil setting, more friendly service, or more comfort. Would give this a "10" out of "5" if we could. Quiet and tranquil right in the midst of Anniston. Many thanks to all who made this a wonderful stay.

Hotel Finial is highly rated on Trip Advisor. I cannot understand why. Maybe it is the nicest place in Anniston? The hotel exterior needs cleaning and work. The inside is clean and presentable. The hot breakfast good. The fencing allows guests to feel more secure. On the other hand the exterior walkways need a good cleaning as does the elevator. Rooms are okay. Baseboards have years of dirt caked on. The pool area made presentable even in off season. A hotel host needs to be in attendance. Cleaning and maintenance is all this place needs to be made a true premier collection. Not sure I would stay here again.

After a two week road trip to Florida, this was a wonderful stop on our return trip. The breakfast was excellent and we loved the beautiful surroundings in the old mansion. We enjoyed a cocktail the evening before in the old carriage house. We arrived in the evening and the only challenge we had was figuring out how to find the entry into the parking lot!

I've been visiting Anniston since I was a kid and never noticed this place. I'm glad I stumbled upon it. The staff was very attentive and helpful, rooms were clean and breakfast was decent. The gated community was also a plus! The only issue I had was hearing trains come through at night.

My wife and I had a spontaneous idea to get away for a night. We decided on this hotel due to the uniqueness/Victorian-era qualities. Meaning not the standard hotel rooms. Luckily, we were able to book a stay inside the Grand Ball Room. A beautifully designed and comfortable space. The experience was even enhanced as we discovered the Crab Barrack restaurant (a few miles away) for some delicious cajun-style crawfish. . Then a few drinks at the hotel bar, where we got to meet or bartender Jacob as well as other delightful and hilarious guest. What an awesome and memorable night out!

My sister and I were very pleased with the overall experience at this motel and highly recommend it. If we are every in need of a motel in the area we will definitely stay here again. Very unique and beautiful.

This property is amazing and so beautiful. They have preserved the original house but made is extremely comfortable and up to date. When you pull up you feel like you are in an old movie. The house is grand and so beautiful. Then you walk through the doors and it's equally amazing on the inside. The grand staircase is perfect and the details are amazing. Our room was the Grand Ballroom. It had such cool little details that my family loved. You have to stay here!!!

The staff were all super nice, rooms were clean and breakfast was wonderful! We really enjoyed our stay. The beds were nice and comfortable, check in was very quick and simple. I loved the outside sitting areas also.

Best hotel in the Anniston Oxford area. The hotel is super clean, staff is very friendly, and breakfast is delicious. This hotel is gated and has a eye catching appeal the 1800s main house where breakfast is served is an experience in itself.

We used this hotel for my sisters wedding block and they went above and beyond to take care of our lodging needs. We loved being on property. They even listened to our special request and fulfilled them!

The Finial is an old home restored for use as a hotel. Plus they have build a couple of 3 story hotel wings on the property and surrounded it all with a gated fence. We arrived at night and drove around the block twice before we found the entrance. No signs to tell you where it was. Then, inside the property it was not clear where to go to register but they did have a couple of signs that did not mean much if you had never been there before. The whole place really seemed dark and dingy at night except for the main house which was lit up brightly. We got our room and had to go to an outside elevator that took us to the third floor. It was cold and we lugged our suitcases down the long outdoor walkway to the second building. We were on the third floor but our room was on the second floor of the next building so we had to take a ramp down to that second floor? I have no idea how or why they built it that way.. Very confusing. Our room was fine, but average. The included breakfast the next morning was very good. The stafff was very friendly, but the overall place is not well designed and is confusing. For the price it was not bad, but I don't think I would go out of my way to stay there again. Overall, average is about as high as I can rate them.

What a great hotel. Built in 1800's but updated with all the latest amenities and furnishings without taking away from the Historic look and feel. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area.

Amazing hotel. The property is absolutely beautiful. The entire hotel was decorated for the Christmas Holiday which made our experience even more amazing. The rooms were clean. The service was great. The breakfast was, WOW!

The mansion at the Finial is beautiful and the grounds of the hotel. The room was very nice and the bed was comfortable. The staff could not have been nicer, and the breakfast was delicious. It was difficult to leave.

Enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Was there in November so not a busy time but very relaxing. Grounds were very pretty with a large Victorian home the main focus of this hotel. Large hot breakfast in the main home. About 10 min off the interstate but worth the drive. Gated grounds & parking. Room was spacious and comfortable. Will definitely stay here again when in Anniston, Alabama.

This should be an absolutely charming hotel. Sadly, it appears poorly maintained. We arrived October 18th at 9:30 pm. We had not been notified that the only elevator was broken. They had booked us into a second floor room which was up a wooden stairwell. We are elderly so we asked about getting a room on the first floor. The desk clerk explained that they did not have enough staff to clean all of the rooms that had been used on the weekend so we'd have to take the second floor room. The room was musty. The soap niche in the shower had not been cleaned so I cleaned it with a wash cloth. We went to breakfast in the beautiful old home on the property. The breakfast was okay. There was a fine layer of dust on the furniture. The windows in the home (and in our room) needed cleaning. This facility needs cleaning and painting to be as fine as it should be. We won't go back.

Beautifully restored home that has expanded into a nice hotel. Electronic entrance and exit on this gated property. Plenty of well-lit parking. Rooms were very nice and updated. Most rooms are situated to see the pool area. Very nice bar room on the porperty, but serpaerated from the room area. Check-in was quick and easy. All staff we encountered addressed us with a greeting. The eating area is wonderful, ornate woodwork, beautiful fireplaces, decorated very nice for the season, great photo op. There is the expected southern offerings on a buffet, grits, biscuits & gravy, eggs, sausage, etc., BUT the care in preparation was exceptional. The grits were great with a nice sample of toppings, the gravy was flavorful w/o being excessive, the biscuits tasted like whipped butter that melted in your mouth. The Belgian waffles were delicious, kind of an infused cinnamon flavor, no syrup needed. The coffee offered was good. I didn't select any of the fruits or muffins, they were displayed nicely. Centrally located for shopping or visiting historic downtown Anniston.

Lovely historical hotel. Bar is great! Room smelled like mildew. Toilet in the bathroom rocked when you sat down. It rocked a lot. Breakfast was calorie loaded! Rubber eggs. No bacon or sausage. No healthy choices. Elevator was broken, carrying luggage to the 3 rd floor with a knee brace on, was challenging.. this place could be really cool with some attention to detail. Beds were good .

Beautiful hotel, beautiful grounds and buildings, beautiful rooms, great service, excellent breakfast service in the beautiful main house, great bar/selection, super friendly and accommodating staff (we did have an issue with the bartender on Friday evening- we reported it to the manager on Saturday morning- and ended our stay with an amazing experience at the bar on Saturday

This hotel was a very pleasant surprise. An old Victorian home which welcomes you from the highway houses the restaurant/breakfast area as well as a few beautiful rooms. The majority of the rooms are behind the house and are very nice. You will certainly enjoy your relaxing and welcome stay at the Finial Hotel!

The place was absolutely beautiful. We loved reading about the history. The service was great. The staff was super friendly. The breakfast was good and hot and there was enough to choose from! We had the eggs, bacon, and biscuit and gravy! It was delicious!

We enjoyed the close proximity to the Chief Ladiga bicycling trails and Pinhoti hiking trails. We had a wonderful time cycling, Cheaha Mountain is also a short drive from the hotel and offers beautiful views and hiking.

I stayed at the Finian because of the beauty, quietness, and security that I had enjoyed from a previous stay years ago. Again this is what I enjoyed. I felt much more secure staying at The Finian than I would have if I had stayed in Atlanta for the football game. As for the Price I would have spent twice as much or more to stay in the luxury that I have experienced at The Finian

Planned a quick weekend trip to Anniston just to get away and read that the Finial was rated the best small hotel in Alabama. It didn't disappoint. Very friendly and helpful staff from the desk clerk to the bartender (which, at times, was the same person). Great hot breakfast, nice pool and vert quiet at night. Had a great night's sleep.

This could be magnificent with some cleaning. While the grounds and buildings are beautiful —also a very nice bar that is actually open until 11pm as we started towards our room it was very noticeable that a lot of the outside including the railings could use a good power washing. And while the room was newer and seemly clean the shower was full of mold and the baseboards were dirty. Just some elbow grease would make this place spectacular. I liked the place so much I wanted to start cleaning to bring it up to stardom. The main house was a joy and breakfast was ok. The surrounding area was a little less desirable.

The hotel is historic and unique. We enjoyed our stay overall. The breakfast was wonderful and we enjoyed experiencing the history of the home. Some minor updates to the room should be adjusted to make the room more clean and presentable going forward. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful property full of history. You just have to request a suite to stay in the old part of the house, I knew that so it was good. The breakfast in the main house was good, however the syrup was very sugary

This is a nice hotel…but very misleading! There are 3 or 4 room in the main house, but most rooms are standard motel rooms in outside buildings. I had booked the top floor room, but there was no elevator or bell person, so we opted for another room! Nothing on the website mentioned no elevator! Our room was nice and very clean! The young lady at the front desk was very sweet! Breakfast was another matter….cold, not much variety! They would have been better off with just a continental breakfast!

This hotel is beautiful. Everything was clean. Southern Breakfast was awesome! The pool area was relaxing. The gated parking is secure and puts your mind at ease. Staff was friendly. We had no worries while staying there.

Our daughter's wedding was held in the area recently, and we couldn't be more pleased with the Finial. Rooms were clean, service was fantastic and the hotel was a perfect place for our families and guests to stay. I highly recommend it!

We stayed at Hotel Finial a few years ago and we were in the hotel rooms behind the mansion. This time we were able to book the Wilson Suite in the mansion (whcih was built in 1888). What a beautiful room! If you're in to historical homes and appreciate classy interior design, this is the room for you! The interior of the house is also beautiful with ornate fireplaces and is also exquisitely decorated. We did venture to the downtown area for dinner and I have to say that that area of town was a bit depressing. Too bad the downtown area isn't as nice as the hotel. It would be nice if there was a nice restaurant in the mansion. They do serve a nice breakfast there, but no other meals.

This property is located in a great area and the setting is beautiful. Check-in/out is efficient and quick. Pool area is very nice. Bar is limited without a full time bartender. Rooms are clean and comfortable and easy to access via elevator. The house area where breakfast is offered is splendid- restored and beautiful. Plenty of seating and breakfast service includes real china and silverware. Only shortcoming is the breakfast offering- no type of cream, no fresh fruit offering other than a bowl of oranges, no "grits bar", no microwave to heat up cold danish. Not sure if there was a toaster. If you stay here, be prepared to bring your own cream if you need that for your coffee.

Super cute hotel. Hidden gem in Aniston, GA. We found it to be safe, friendly & clean. Staff so nice. Kids had a blast in pool. Breakfast was yummy and relaxed. Everything was A+ in my opinion. Surrounding issue was not an issue in our experience. Hubby even went to local Walmart and everyone was kind and helpful.

This was a stop over on our way to the beach. We picked the area to hike Talladega National Forest. I failed to research the city before choosing the hotel (lesson learned). There are hardly any places in the city to eat. Many dilapidated and boarded up buildings. We would not have felt safe being out in the city after dark. The hotel itself is pretty but not very clean. There was a clump of hair in our shower floor. We made it to breakfast 1st (before the food came out) and food mess from the previous day was never cleaned up. There were chunks of egg and sausage and greasy finger prints on the serving equipment. The only reason I even give it a 2 is that the front desk employees were pleasant and did not give us any trouble when we wanted to check out a day early.

Our stay at the Hotel Finial marked the end of our couples trip exploring the US south. And, what a wonderful way to end the trip. Splurged for a night within the historic Victorian mansion in the Wilson Suite that exceeded all expectations! The styling, comfort and spaciousness of the suite was one of a kind - first time staying in a suite with a chandelier! Breakfast the following morning eclipsed all expectations and all other hotel breakfasts during our week vacation. Can't wait to come back. P.s. The proximity of the hotel makes for a great spot from which to explore the nearby Mountain Leaf National Wildlife Refuge and Talladega National Forest - both of which are woefully underrated and must see destinations!

Hotel Finial is a beautiful inn! It's about a 10 minute drive off of I-20 in the quaint town of Anniston. A full buffet breakfast is served in the stunningly charming historic Victorian home part of the inn. The food was delicious, and the staff were most helpful and friendly. The rooms are spacious and clean! The parking is secure with a gated entrance. We would absolutely stay here again!!

Affordable comfortable stay with excellent room amenities and very eclectic room layout. The complementary breakfast in the main house is well-suited for families roomie and the staff and here's to strict Covid cleansing requirements

Our stay at Hotel Finial was impromptu and made while approaching Anniston, AL. What a GREAT discovery. Everything about the property made us wish we had arranged it a month ago and wish we were staying several days. The room was unique and perfect and exactly what we look for - roomy, quiet, walk-in tiled shower, etc.

This hotel was quaint, beautiful and unexpectedly peaceful. Room was perfect, staff was thoughtful and will definitely return someday. I was able to enjoy a uninterrupted workout on the side patio and a well appointed breakfast which was provided each morning. If in the area - it is an excellent choice!

Nice clean secure room. Courteous staff. Nice quiet area. Would 100% recommend. We were offered late check in, no hassle check out. The kids enjoyed a full hot breakfast. Pool was beautiful and weak kept. Entire facility including parking was gated, Great stay for the money.

This is such a cute place! We loved strolling around the property.! Breakfast was amazing! My family loved the pool area. Rooms were clean and decorated very family friendly. I loved the amount of pillows on the bed!!

We stayed at the Hotel Finial because it was close to the Chief Ladiga Trail and the McClellan Mountain Bike Trails. It was the perfect location to bike in both of these areas. We also appreciated how close it was to Oxford and the parks there.

Why would I spend 130.00 a night in Anniston at a older remolded Nobles house just to wake up and be given a bag for breakfast. Still to this day MATAS is the only reason to stop there. I'll take my business to a more scenic view and stay at Cheaha at a Chalet for the same price and eat me some MATAS there. This info is dated 4/26/2021 4:48 pm.

I picked this hotel because the pictures looked good and it was close to where I was going. The pictures had an ole' school feel of a bread and breakfast. Nothing could be further from the truth. It is surrounded by a 8' fence to keep people out that are walking around the area all day and night. The constant loud cars and motorcycles from the road behind the hotel was all night. The room was filthy, dark, and in need of paint at the very least. I had to change rooms after a long day of business. Because I could not stand the hairs in the shower (Not mine) and the moldy looking stuff in the niche. The second room was not as filthy but just as dark and run down. The door to the second room would not close correctly and had to be slammed to close. The door frame was bowed and the door would barely latch, not very safe at all. The desk person advised that they do their best to keep the rooms clean and updated as I was moving my luggage to the second room. But it was obvious that they don't, and not because of a pandemic, it was because they don't. Will not stay there again - be warned.

The cottage was cute but much much louder than a normal hotel room. Both mornings we were woken up with various guests chatting right outside the window which is next the bed. Guest use the brick half wall as a morning smoke spot/gossip, I guess. Noise throughout the night with kids running up and down the deck. The rugs had gross stains and sheets had some hair. Cute place but not worth the money. A standard hotel room elsewhere is much quieter.

Extremely old and dusty hotel charged my card for cleaning service and a smoke order for all the guest because other cards were unable to be charged. I rented one room and was sneakily overcharged an extra $500 after I checked out.

We were placed on the bottom floor of the property in the room that looked the most used up. Not nearly as updated ad reviews stated. Nowhere to eat close by and the surrounding area was not the safest.

The hotel is great and the staff was very polite and the rooms were super clean I really enjoyed my weekend there it was close to several attractions and restaurants as well I hope I get to stay there again

Beautiful rooms and property. The bar is great and open until 10. Breakfast items modified due to COVID, but they do offer these grab n go items all day! All staff members were very professional and helpful. No complaints.

We had the best time at the Hotel Finial in Anniston. It's a beautiful hotel and the rooms were very well decorated and a great size. The hotel is so beautiful and has a lot of history. The hotel staff was so nice, especially Molly, who was so wonderful and pleasant. She told us all about the history of the hotel which was built in 1888 and also told us about some local places to check out. The hotel bar is beautiful and we went twice during our stay and had a nice time. I would definitely stay here again and again. This was one of the nicest hotels we've stayed at.

I enjoy staying at Hotel Finial each time I' m in Anniston. There is no other hotel i would rather stay. Customer service is awesome and the rooms are very nice and clean. I love frequenting the bar and the location is nice.

Beautifully restored 1888 property sits on the highest point in Anniston, AL. Rooms are spacious and the cottage is very unique and special. Due to Covid the restaurant was not open, unfortunately. They did provide access to breakfast snacks all day. Great place to stay if you are attending a wedding at Oak Meadow Event Center in Ohatchee, 20 minutes away.

Room was excellent, very quiet. They advertise a buffet breakfast but there wasn't one. So was disappointed on that part. Overall I was pleased. Checkout was simple which is very helpful. Nice staff too.

Part of this Best Western Hotel is a Victorian Home that was built in the late 1800's. It has several suites that are named after the past owners. The decor of the home is fabulous. The hotel has all the modern amenities, but if you stay in the Victorian Home, you will feel as if you are on a historical field trip. I highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is gorgeous and first class customer service. We will definitely stay here again and I would recommend it to anyone that may be staying in this town. It is a beautiful property, rich in history. We upgraded to a suite and were very happy with our choice

There are only a few rooms in the historic part, while the rooms in the back of the hotel are updated and feel like standard chain reliable rooms. It's hard to take a picture of this beautiful place, as it is in a gated area and the land it sits on is actually small. You have to be going a certain way on the street to drive into the hotel to check in. The staff was very friendly. There is an old downtown area and many local restaurants in Anniston, but most of the town towards the interstate is filled with Big Box stores.

Great venue, super staff, lots of history in this venue and in surrounding area. Recomend going to the Chamber of Commerce, located just a couple of blocks away and get some literature. We did and it was great.

Upon our arrival we requested an upgrade. Lucky for us, the Cottage was available. What a lovely place. Two bathrooms, two fireplaces (not functioning but so quaint), a whirlpool tub and roomy shower, comfy bed, two couches, a table with two chairs -- it was just perfect in every way. Totally worth the extra money for one night. It wasn't available for the remaining three nights of our stay, so we moved into a two-queen room, which was nice but not nearly as special or roomy.

Very nice and clean hotel. We stayed in the Mcelroy Suite and probably would not it we stayed here again. It was really close to the highway and a Waffle House next door. There was a lot of loud music and road noise all night long. The web site listed the suite as having a fireplace but it was not functional. Overall the hotel was really nice and clean. I would just avoid this suite and maybe pick a standard room.

I just finished my first year of masters university and in between terms decided to take a little getaway, stay in a quiet place, and visit Mt. Cheaha named the highest point in the state of Alabama before beginning the next year/ term at school. This review is for the garden suite. Excellent idea, VERY poor execution This hotel comes with so much lovely history and the main house, garden suite, carriage house all built back in 1888. I just knew it was going to be a memorable and historic stay! Hotel Finial..as you can see in the photos....is an absolutely beautiful hotel for sure! When we checked in to the garden suite the desk attendant said it was usually lit up? And "its up there behind the gazebo". There are no outside lights separating the garden suite building from anything else. There really aren't alot of lights at all even for entrance and exits and no security despite all of the sirens and police we heard since being here. I do need to mention the entrance of the hotel. Upon pulling up to the gate, it puts you two feet from other drivers in the opposite direction waiting in line at a fast food restaurant which was a little strange.. but I digress. The check in staffer sent us on our way. In the dark, in the pouring rain, we fumbled our way to the gazebo. At first approach, we assumed this must be the pool house. There was no sign 'garden suite' 'pool house' There is no porch light, no step lights for the darkly lit brick stairs stepping downto it from the pool and there was absolutely NO separation of the suite walkway from anything else including...the pathway to the bar. We realized this part too late. When we walked into the suite we were like oooh wow! Immediate impression was impressive! The decorating is sublime like a modernly appointed little mountain cabin. The suite is gorgeous! The bed was fantastic, jacuzzi tub, 2 bathrooms, heavy feather pillows, fabulous little touches everywhere although I could have sworn I read it came with a stocked mini bar. It didnt. Barely a fridge. First thing, lets immediately go through this place and close all of these window blinds. They were raised up high and yet we found that when you let them down, they never really closed. They ALL gaped open. Every. Single. One. The ones in the bath, the one beside the shower looking in, they gaped open to the living room while we watced the game, in the bedroom while we slept..all agape. The window sill is not wide enough to hold those particular blinds in place so first second and third level rooms of the hotel all had prime views into our centrally located abode by the pool. We had people sitting at our table right outside the door (see photos for proximity) smoking weed, there and at the gazebo deck above, yelling from the porch to upstairs rooms, yelling from the gazebo, drinking and tripping all over themselves walking though our front porch area. Not just one night but every night we were here! It was absolutely the ruin of our getaway. People tripping through our front door area yelling , screaming, weed smoking. Jesus....I'm trying to take a quiet bath in my $300 a night room- please!!! If I were a different person....those stairs are a safety hazard. For the price, the deck of this suite absolutely must be separated from people rambling through there from the bar as they did to us. Housekeeping came by while we were gone. Left one set of new towels and took one garbage can. Did not make the bed, did not leave new shampoos or soaps, did not clean up. For real? Today I'm checking out. This morning I woke to drilling of some sort right outside my bedroom window. Slamming of doors and slamming of gates. I'm going home to relax. I'm going to argue that Hotel Finial is in competition to be the 'highest' point in the state instead of Mt. Cheaha with all that weed smoking..

Stayed for 1 night after biking the Chief Ladiga trail. Beautiful grounds which are gated. Enjoyed roaming with a grandchild! The “event and breakfast” building was beautiful inside and out. Very elegant furnishings and seasonal decorations. Office staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious.

I chose this hotel for my wife and I on our anniversary weekend because my wife loves these type antique homes with the bed and breakfast atmosphere. We had reservations for a king suit in the main house, it was a surprise for my wife. We checked in, I told the lady of my reservation, she mentioned she was having trouble finding it bit then made our keys and sent us to our room. We opened the door to find a small double bed regular room in an adjoining building. We went back to the attendant and told her again about the type of room that I had reserved, she said, "yea, somehow your reservation was canceled and that was the only room we have left." Thanks for notifing me that you mistakenly canceled my reservation after I come back to question the room toy gave me. A couple things to note.... #1 Pay attention when your customers call to say they will be late instead of cutting them off while they are talking and maybe you won't screw up and cancel their room! #2 Did I mention two separate beds for our anniversary weekend? #3 At least act like you care that your carelessness ruined the plans I made for my wife!

The building is beautiful the rooms are very nice. The price is reasonable. I went to bike the Chief Ladiga trail and it was great the trail was nice and we had very nice accomodations the pool and common area would be good for a family stay

Stayed here after mountain biking Coldwater Mt. Outstanding hotel, clean, stylish rooms with huge showers, comfy beds and quiet. Close to good restraunts also. Highly recommend this hotel if you are riding Cold Water Mt or visiting Anniston

Only stayed one night but would go back again. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff friendly. Pool area was nice. Fully fenced secure facility. Only downside was COVID wouldn't allow us to try the grits bar we read about. Maybe next time. You won't be disappointed if you stay here.

What a beautiful historic property! My husband and I were visiting the area with the primary intention of hiking at the Cheaha State Park. I was looking for a nice place to stay and this was a surprising find - looked nice, unique and such a good value. Little did we know that the hotel is listed on the Haunted Rooms and that Anniston has one of the highest crime rates per capita in America! That said please please do check this place out when in the area - the hotel is entirely fenced, the property grounds are beautiful, it felt safe and historic. Wish we had stayed in one of the historic suites - that would have been a wonderful experience! Instead we stayed in one of the morgen king bedrooms. The rooms were fine, fresh, decent bedding, felt restful. The only neat pick is the hotel wasn't full even although it was the 4th of July weekend, yet did the front desk staff have to book us in one of the joint rooms with pretty thin walls - the first night there was a baby crying and tv on till 1am, the second night I'm sure the hotel was 95% empty and there was no baby but we could hear tv on all night till like 5am! Or was it one of the “haunted “ experiences or two rooms down? The famous breakfast wasn't offered due to Covid, unfortunately the restaurant was closed as well - it looked very nice from the outside though, I'd love to try it. All of the 3-4 nice restaurants in the area that the hotel recommends were closed either due to Covid or the 4th of July so unfortunately we couldn't try them either. We found that on both nights of our stay food other than fast food was hard to find after 8pm, so do plan your meals ahead. I've never seen such concentration of fast food before as in this town. The town is strange - such a mix of properties that are taken care of and dilapidated streets /buildings. Oxford near by doesn't have good food either, a typical near-the-freeway town. If you go there do not try Logan's Roadhouse - service was bad and food well below average. The hotel is such an interesting property, completely renovated in 2016, with modern rooms - other than the 4 historic suites located in the main house. The fact that it's owned by Best Western doesn't have any reflection on the unique character of this Victorian era property - other than the name and probably financing there was nothing of Best Western in it (which is a good thing). I'd definitely stay there again in one of the suites if we were in the area again. Very much recommended!

This is always an amazing hotel experience. Ginger does a fantastic job of expressing hospitality. No matter why you are visiting, the trip gets a little more posh when you have hotel accomodations like the Finial. COVID restrictions prohibited the mast amazing breakfast in the state but it was still a great experience.

This hotel was amazing. Lots of history here.. The price was very reasonable. The hotel rooms were updated and very nice. All the staff that we encountered were great and very friendly. We will definitely stay there again if we are in the area.

According to the website, and all the literature in your room, you are supposed to get a hot breakfast in the lovely Victorian mansion that is in front of the rooms. That was a main reason I stayed there. At 7am, I walked up the hill to the house to find it dead. No signs, no people, nothing. Certainly nothing to eat. I went down to the small house that serves as the registration desk. I asked about breakfast, and the guy pointed to some cheap, individually wrapped muffins. Now, I understand COVID has changed things, but you should let people know on the website, or at least when they check in, that there will be no hot breakfast, and it will not be served in the cool big house. Major disappointment. Otherwise, the stay was perfectly adequate.

This is a great hotel in a not-so-great location. I did not feel safe walking in daylight and would not have attempted at night. The charming, historic house that sold me on this hotel was not where we stayed or even stepped foot in. There is a "motel" with exterior doors behind that house where we stayed and the check-in desk, bar and breakfast are in another building.

This historic hotel is a gem in downtown Anniston and near Cheaha State Park so that we were able to use as our family group's base for exploring the park. If you prefer a large historic room, be certain to select one of the few named suites in the mansion at the front of the property; the other options in the large addition attached to the rear of the mansion are nice but more typically furnished hotel rooms.

My wife and I spent two nights at this hotel recently and quite frankly were disappointed. The hotel entices you with photos of its renovated historic building, but then puts you in nothing more than an average hotel with outside access to rooms. The rooms are well furnished, but no better than most other hotels, and the only true unique item is the hotel's location in the downtown business district. We left just before 7 am after the first night to do some hiking on nearby mountains and returned six hours later to a room that had not been cleaned. Since the hotel had only four guests the night before, I failed to understand the delay in cleaning the room! After calling the front desk it was cleaned, but was not vacuumed. i am sure the hotel owners will blame the coronavirus on the problems, but I have my doubts. If we ever head back this way we will no doubt stay at a hotel near interstate.

We absolutely love staying here. The rooms are amazing and the breakfast is the absolute best!!! It's conveniently located also. There's an amazing pizza spot right next door. And in the summer sitting outside at night is so relaxing. Always our first choice when staying in Anniston.

The visit begins with a unique check in at the former carriage house after entering into the gated parking lot. Rooms are arranged with exterior entrances on a 3 floor exterior structure. An elevator is available. A breakfast is served on china plates and real silverware. A nice selection which included chicken and waffles. I would definitely stay again when in the area!

Lovely property centrally located. The complex is gated (controlled with your room key) and parking is secure. Friendly and fast check-in. I had a room on the third floor. Clean, quiet and everything a hotel room should be. Breakfast is served in the main house. It's a truly spectacular setting, with the property being restored to the way it was in a former life.

Great room, comfortable king size bed, large shower! Spent 2 nights on Valentines weekend. Was in town visiting family & friends. Great central location. Nice quiet room. The hotel bar served specialty Valentines drinks! Will visit again!

I had an awesome experience at Hotel Finial . The room was clean and stuff was very friendly. The Bar was clean. The parking was close and spacious. It was easy to get to. The hotel had a lot of steps.

This hotel has 61 rooms with 5 suites. They offer a hot breakfast most of time with bacon and eggs. Has a bar on site which we did not use. Internet was fast and easy to use. Ground are will kept and pleny of parking. Several restaurants within walking distance and a grocery store across the stree

Room was very nice as always. clean sheets bed is comfortable, showers are great and nice and clean, floor of room is clean and surfaces are dust free. Breakfast was good each day, the Waffles are great and made fresh every morning

My family enjoyed our one night stay at this beautiful property. Once you enter the gates, you feel at home. From checking in at the quant carriage house and entering the nicely updated rooms, you will not be disappointed. The delicious buffet breakfast in the gorgeous victorian home did not disappoint either. What a neat place to stay! Staff is very nice and attentive as well!

Very nice historic refurbished Victorian building. Rooms nicely done and clean. Very nice bar with great selection of premium brands. Service was very good. The only complaint is very noisy on the third floor above, the bridal suite. High heel shoes and heavy footsteps noticeable for several hours.

This is a one-of-a-kind hotel. It is almost in the middle of nowhere. The decor in our room is classy contemporary, very attractive and spacious. The exterior is a set of old- time historic buildings. The breakfast is seriously southern. It has awesome biscuits, and a generous pot of grits, along with all the usual eggs, and etc. The Finial is more of an inn than a hotel, with very personal service. We got a good price. Definitely a keeper

Stayed four nights as part of a military reunion. Room was great; spacious and not a “cookie-cutter” design. Staff super friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet included was terrific. Bar area friendly and fun. Would stay there again on my own.

This is a beautiful Victorian home which also has hotel rooms added and attached. Our room was spacious with a big glassed in shower versus a tub shower. There was a hot buffet breakfast in the main house with many options: eggs, bacon,gravy,grits,biscuits,fruit,yogurt,and more. The best plus for u, our favorite pizza place was next door. We rarely go through Anniston but would definitely stay here again.

This was our first time in Anniston on business. We didn't want to stay in a chain hotel for a change. We are so glad we happened upon this place! Excellent location, super clean and affordable, fantastic complementary breakfast, quaint bar in the original carriage house in an awesome bed and breakfast atmosphere! We will definitely go back there each time we come through! I highly recommend staying in this hotel!!
