Very old hotel with cockroaches. Floors are dirty. Don't stay here.
I made a reservation through Best Western. I called back to change it and was told to contact the hotel directly. The hotel gave me a new reservation and told me they would cancel the first. I ended up being charged for both and when I disputed it, it was denied.
Last time I stayed here was just before new years eve 2023-2024.but the site won't let me choose that far back. I stayed with my dog and my disabled mother who needs a roll in shower.. we have stayed here numerous times over the previous 3 years. We always stay in room 101 I believe it is. First floor, ramp to room, entrance right by the parking lot across from the front desk lobby. We have never had any issues with bugs other than a spider in the upper corner of the mini closet by the bed. Gently escorted outside in a glass covered by a piece of paper. The room has always been clean, spacious and comfortable. The fireplace is always a nice cozy touch. You can buy a duraflame log for $5 at the front desk. It feels like you're in your own little studio apt. I have cooked in the kitchen and we enjoyed our meals on the kitchen table/bar. The supplied kitchenware has improved since our first stay. It's stocked with plenty of essentials now. There's an additional closet by the front door for coats and the ironing board and iron are located in there. The full breakfast bar in the morning is plentiful and enjoyable as well. The pet deposit is one of the most reasonable and affordable amounts I have encountered. At least it was when I stayed here. It was not per night just 1 flat amount and it was not ridiculous like some places. I appreciate that immensely. Thank you! We are looking forward to our next stay here.
My girlfriend and I stayed at this hotel for several weeks before discovering a SPIDER INFESTATION. Initially, we noticed a single spider every few days and killed it. Then, over a few days, we killed three spiders together, followed by a fourth. This is when my girlfriend mentioned she killed a couple when I was out, which reminded me I had also killed a couple when she wasn't there - so we realized it was more around 10 spiders in a short period. I decided to investigate further. BEHIND ALMOST EVERY OUT-OF-SIGHT AREA, THERE WERE SPIDERS. Inside the lampshades, behind both curtains, and behind my nightstand, I found two live spiders that I had been sleeping less than a foot away from every night. - I have images. - I have video. - An older review here on TripAdvisor a guest accused the hotel of having bed bugs. The hotel's response? They claimed they don't have bed bugs - just "spiders and beetles." I also know there was another guest who was there the same time as us who complained about the same thing. SO THIS IS ESTABLISHED: Via photographic evidence, multiple other guests, and even admitted by the hotel themselves. ...so obviously, they called me a liar and tried to say i'm just trying to get money back. I expected them to think "You stayed for a month" to be some kind of point against me. Not really though. Yes, we tolerated the occasional spider, without complaint by the way. I don't expect magic, sometimes spiders get inside. I'm seriously a reasonable person. It's once we discovered there were many more hiding behind furniture and curtains, after 10 had already been killed, that we knew there was a problem and left IMMEDIATELY. These webs weren't new, they were thick, multi-layered and clearly there for some time. I had been sleeping inches away from spiders behind the nightstand. But the hotel believes they can expose guests to situations like this and if you don't die, you don't get to complain. California law states that any place with an "infestation of insects, vermin, or rodents" is not legal to rent out - The law is NOT confusing, it's not one of those laws that use complex words and only a lawyer can understand it. So I demanded my money back. WAS WAY TOO NICE and even offered to let them keep $1500 of what I paid and put that towards fixing the problem. Guess what the manager said? My claim had "NO MERIT." ..how would you address an issue that had "no merit"? You'd do nothing. SO BEWARE: I was the second person to complain about spiders that week, they refuse to accept reality. Probably aware if they admit it that I am entitled a refund for what I spent on a room that was not up to code, and shouldn't have been rented out. I believe the head manager is also the owner, which is a situation that can be great if they're a good person. But if they're greedy, they hear 'refund' and think of their own personal bank account. An manager who is simply employed and paid a salary would THANK me for both offering to let them keep $1500 to address the problem, I world have kept the situation private. It's not a threat 'money or you get a bad review' - it's a matter of WARNING PEOPLE they gave no indication they will do anything to resolve an issue, as my only interaction with them involved them pretending it isn't real. It's just such awful business, even from a purely greedy standpoint - because the truthful reviews from me and others mentioning these serious issues will cost them WAY MORE than a refund and addressing the issue. But some people believe if they don't have to give up anything, even knowing they were in the wrong, its a 'win' to them. In reality, now you're not just the spider infested hotel, you're also now the hotel with awful customer service. Unfortunately there's no way to make them understand that. So STAY AWAY, if you're looking for a place to stay, keep looking.
You NEVER said anything to any employee during your month+ staying here. You also requested to stay in that room each day you extend your stay and had to come to the front desk to check out and back in to the same room. In fact you regularly had a do not disturb on his room and would not let housekeeping go in and clean. We would have offered you a new room had ANYTHING been brought to our attention. We have a regular guest that stayed in that exact room before and after you and your girlfriend left. Not one complaint. Your issues that you are claiming to have had did not came up until you sent 3 letters to the hotel trying to extort the hotel for $5,000 if we did not pay you or you would sue, which no lawyer would take it because there is no case, and write bad reviews everywhere you could. I am sure you and your girlfriend being escorted off the premises by the local police for non-payment is also a factor in your ridiculous complaint.
We were having remodeling work at our home and needed to move out. Also have 2 cats and I am on a very strict medical diet due to a health issue. Sens Suites is open to pets, for a fee, and a nicely furnished kitchen, as I was unable to eat the Sens provided breakfast. Room was very well laid out with pretty much you might need. Quiet grounds. Because of the rainy weather, we did not use the pool or the firepits in the evening, but they look great. Very friendly and professional staff.
There was a mouse and it's feces on the kitchen counter. There were pincher bugs in the bed. The mattress was lumpy. The hot water was slow. The toilet didn't flush all the way. The carpets were sticky. The window trim was splintered and chewed. The staff didn't care and didn't offer an apology or compensation. Worst experience ever

3 different rooms: 1st - smelled of cigarettes trying to be covered by citrus spray. 2nd - 2 Mice in the room, traps were laid down 3rd - dirty floor with candy wrappers and clothing tags They gave credit for only one night. Should have comp the whole stay.

The staff is friendly and courteous but the hotel needs a lot of work. For the average price of 250.00 per night, I expected more, especially from Marriott. *The shower curtain was so long that I almost tripped on it several times while showering. * There were unpatched holes where they tried to anchor the shower rod in the bath. * Found a rather large spider on the work desk. *The carpet has definitely seen better days. This property is past due for renovations.
Dear pulpwriter, Thank you for taking the time to provide your honest feedback in regards to your stay with us. I am very sorry to hear about the condition issues you experienced in your room. While we are an older property, we are working on our next renovation project plans so I hope we'll be able to present you with a more updated and upgraded product in the future. I'm glad that our staff was able to provide you with great service during your stay with us. Thank you for staying with us.
This place needs updating and refurbishment. Some parts, like kitchen, have been updated, but the rest of the room is in need. Had water leak in hallway from bath upstairs for instance. Bed sags and slopes downward. The box springs base reminds me of an UpTowne Suites hotel. Carpet is dirty here. No USB connectors in the room as you would expect from a Marriott room. On and on. For the price of the place I would consider the Home2 Suites by Hilton right around the corner. It's new and has up to date technology. Also not sure if the popcorn ceiling is asbestos!
Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us, CraigFranklin. Maintaining a fresh atmosphere within our guest rooms and common areas is always a key priority. On behalf of the entire team at the Residence Inn Livermore Pleasanton, I sincerely apologize for falling short of not only meeting your expectations, but ours as well. Rest assured, the feedback provided will be shared with the appropriate hotel team to ensure we consistently deliver upon guest expectations. We hope to have another opportunity to better serve you in the future.
I stay in a lot of Residence Inns around the country, and this was one of the worst. At check-in they require a no party policy waiver, which is demeaning to the Marriott brand...customers shouldn't be treated like a college student at a cheap motel during spring break. The little grocery pantry in the lobby was the sparsest I've ever seen, virtually no selection. However, the worst part of my stay was the condition of the room. The furniture was worn and stained, and the bathroom vanity was stained and rotted with urine (see photo). Seems like another first generation RI about ready to become a Hawthorn or Sonesta.
Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us NakedOnTheBalcony. I'm sorry to hear that there were cleanliness and condition issues with your room and wish I could find out more information in regards to the room you stayed in so I can investigate this further. Our Weekend Policy which we've had in effect for years is certainly not intended to offend or upset anyone, but rather to ensure that all of our guests can have a quiet enjoyable stay without noise disturbances or "parties" involving other hotel guests. I'm sorry that this policy bothered you, but hopefully it at least had its intended result of a quiet night and stay for you.
I like this Hotel for visits to Livermore National Lab. It's pretty close, but most importantly it is in the opposite direction of the traffic. In the morning, the Freeway WEST is backedup, but you need to go EAST and that works fine (and visa versa in the evening) The Hotel is close to several easy restaurants. Wendys is walking distance (same parking lot), and Cattlemans is a short drive away. Despite being close to Freeway, I have never had an Freeway noise problems in my room. They offer the standard Residence Inn Breakfast, and have a nice breakfast area. "The Mix" in the evenings often offers nice meals. The staff has always been quite polite and helpful. There was a time a few years ago that I stayed 3 or 4 times in about 6 weeks time, and on the 5th visit they greeted me by name walking in. This is one of the Residence Inns with several separate "houses" with 4 or 8 rooms in each little building. The upgraded upstairs suites are CRAZY big, with a 2nd story Master Loft with a king bed, and a queen bed downstairs with kitchen and sitting area. Great for a Family visit. (Feels a little weird though when you are all alone on a business trip with that much space to rattle around in). My only complaint is that the complex is aging. I've been staying here for almost 15 years, and it was "not new" the first time I went. They have updated and refurbished much of the complex, but it is starting to show it's age in places. They do have a small pool and basketball court (I've never used them). A suggestion to the Staff ... it would be nice to open a door into the Club House on the East side, so that people staying in the East set of building (Teen numbers) don't have to go all the way around the club house to get in for breakfast.
Nice hotel in west Livermore. Not really convenient to the Lawrence Livermore lab but a step up from the hotel near the lab. Some Residence inns only have king rooms, this one has rooms with 2 queens. Free breakfast and free happy hour some nights.
