The service was great we were greeted as we walked into the lobby. The room was very clean and organized for easy access. Bed is very comfortable and bed sheets are clean. The A/C was very good comparing to other hotels in Matamoros.

Great place for the price parking is secure fast friendly service. Rooms are clean. Breakfast it really good delicious and hot. Staff is attentive to COVID protocol and to follow guidelines. Will be staying there the next time I go there. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Dated however it is located right on 9th street... this is the street that closes down every friday for the long festive party with food and drink! Located perfectly within stumbling distance of these festivities.

We as a group of six had a wonderful experience at best western. The whole staff including Alejandro and Julio took care of us from the day of pickup. They have kitchen with friendly staff, they offered us a customized menu with Indian meals as some of us have food preferences. Can't ask for a better place to stay. And thank you to Salvador for keeping this place as good as it is.

We really enjoyed our time here. The rooms on the end of the hotel are very nice and the service is prompt and courteous. Clean rooms with comfortable beds and a very tasty breakfast. We ended up better dealing straight with the hotel rather than through the website.

I was in Matamoros from 09/09 to 9/11 2019 for visa stamping. I took the package from Mr Salvador including hotel stay. It was the best decision . It was value for money with excellent service. He picked me up from Brownsville, TX and helped me cross the border to Mexico. I stayed in the hotel. Hotel was very clean and comfortable, food downstairs was excellent, lot of choices. It was very good experience overall. The staff members were very kind and helpful. He also arranged my trip to Monterey and back and arranged hotel there. His folks in Monterey was also extremely nice and helpful. There are many people along with me smoothly got their visa stamped and got back to US smoothly. Salvador and team helped us in every steps. If you are planning for visa stamping in this area, I would strongly recommend to stay here and take his service.

I was in Matamoros fron 08/28 to 9/10 2019 for visa stamping. The hotel was clean and the food was pretty good and not too expensive. Salvador and his team are wonderful. Overall, I'd definitely recommend to stay here if your coming to Matamoros

Parking guard and gate trumped our choice as the vehicle felt secure being left through the day and night. Room was a bit smaller than use to for a 2 queen bed stay but it did the job. Make sure to put how many people are staying, especially if you're using rewards because they will charge you extra after booking and you wont get the discount or rewards. If you're having visitors, there's not really a lobby area to mingle in aside from the dinner area. Pool area was nice. Gym consists of 4 machines, and one being the only non cardio machine. Again. I think the parking area, even though smlomewhat small, trumped the others but do a more thorough look at nearby places.

Was given 5 star initially. Below review is for visa candidates. Due to a last minute forced checkin was not proper, eventhough the passport was arrived at dhl, they are not interested to get the passport since they can charge for 1 more night. There are other agencies that helped us in getting the passport on the same day and we crossed the border

Good amenities, clean & well maintained. Hotel has restaurant with delicious Indian Food Veg Biryani. Short commute to US Consulate arranged by the Hotel Staff. Restaurant is open 3 times a day Morning, Afternoon and Evening.

This hotel is located right in downtown, one block away from the downtown market and plaza.The restaurant is only open in the morning with a very good breakfast.We stay there with family and friend.

BW Hotel Plaza is good hotel. Clean, comfortable. It is near by to many restaurants, banks and other hotels. The staff and ownership are very helpful and always willing to accommodate suggestions or help out when requested. Stayed there on 2 separate occasions. Will go back there when the time comes.

The quality of the hotel is very good even by U.S. standards, as required to meet the Best Western criteria. The staff was friendly and helpful. A full complimentary breakfast in the dining room is included. Our room was clean and comfortable. Free potable water and ice is available - ask at the desk. There is a nice outdoor swimming pool. The hotel is strategically located near the border, the U.S. Consulate, and pedestrian shopping areas. If you are going to Matamoros for H-1B Visa Stamping, I would definitely recommend staying in this hotel and using its Visa-related services again when the time comes.

We have stayed in this hotel twice since we've been going to our dentist in Matamoros. The hotel management is very professional. The rooms are clean and efficient and towels are WONDERFUL! We will stay here each time we're in MEX.

I was in Matamoros for my H1b visa stamping. I parked my car at Brownsville, Texas and Salvador picked me up from there to check me in to the hotel. The hotel room was clean and neat. The food at the restaurant was very good. They were always ready to customize according to my taste. I had a delay in receiving my passport and had to stay there for over a week. I kept visiting the consulate everyday to check the status of my visa and Salvador was always open to leaving and picking me up. After I received my passport, he also dropped me back at the port of entry. Salvador is very helpful and genuine. It was overall a comfortable stay. If you are traveling to Matamoros, I would definitely recommend using his service.

When I arrived I was greeted with "Que Reservation?". Front desk lady made it clear she didn't speak any English and appeared disappointed to find I did in fact have a reservation. I asked for Julio and was asked "Que Motiva?" I tried to explain to her because Julio spoke English. Finally, she said he was "Occupado". The whole 3 days she seemed determined not to help. I asked for a taxi driver that spoke English. She did call for the taxi, but didn't request a driver that spoke English. Tried asking again for Julio, but was told he is off Saturday's, so I asked for Mr. Salvador, but she told me he was "Occupado". The cleaning staff were the most helpful. When my key card didn't work the cleaning lady went and fixed it with a smile. Business would skyrocket if Mr Salvador would swap the cleaning staff and the front desk staff. Would have been great after 6 hours of travel to have been greeted with a kind and helpful front desk. Present front desk staff can take all that customer anger out cleaning the hotel. Room and hotel were very clean. Breakfast was good. Immediate area around hotel was clean and safe. Good restaurant across the street. Long wait(2 hours) at border to return to US. Tremendous potential to improve by sharing knowledge of Matamoros. Found taxi drivers had little knowledge of area and didn't speak English. Just think if the staff was able to recommend a liquor store, restaurants, etc. Hotel staff and customers would be much happier at the end of the day.

The rooms are not great they are outdated and not very clean. But they really need to better train the staff members. At check in the guy at the hotel offered us two different prices one that included breakfast and one that did not de diceded to pay the extra $100 pesos per room and get the breakfast. We assumed it would be something simple like sweet bread and coffee when we got to the breakfast area it was an actual restaurant.The restaurant was pack so only 4 out of our party of 12 got to sit the rest of us went back to the room. 30 min later we came back down and they had pleanty of empty tables but they were all DIRTY. The party of 4 that had already been sitting for about 30 min was pretty upset because they hadnt gotten their drinks and only one person had recived food. We then asked the server if they could get some tables cleaned up so the rest of us could sit down and order and we went ahead and asked her about the missing food her response was that she was only the server not the kitchen. She came back to the dirty table and only picked up half of of the table and asked what we wanted to order I told her I would like it if she finished cleaning the table and got us some menus so we could order and she just walked away with out picking anything off of the table. At this point we went to the front desk to see if we could speak to a manager. The lady at the front desk was no help she said there was nothing she could do not even give us a refund sine the breakfat was free. We told her that was not what the person at check in told us and her response was that she didnt know why he would tell us that if that isnt true. We decided to just check out with out any breakfast because we were getting no where with the staff they were instead just blaming each other. The whole situation was just really unprofessional when everything had a simple fix just do your job youre a server apologize for the missing food, and clean off your tables so you can take other peoples orders.

Like a score of others, I too contacted Salvador for the purpose of visa stamping. Salvador and his team were incredibly helpful throughout the process, starting from picking me up in the US to dropping me back once we collected the stamped passports. Salvador particularly is a very humble gentleman that showed sincere care during my stay. Would gladly recommend to anyone looking to get their visa stamped in Mexico.

This is a great hotel. The best part is the staff who are very helpful. I would like to extend a special thanks to Mr. Salvador and Julio who made my stay a comfortable one. The restaurant at the hotel also serves great Mexican food with a regional Tamaulipas flavor. I stayed at the hotel to visit the US consulate. This was a convenient location not only to get to the consulate but also to restaurants and the markets. Matamoros is an old city with a lot of history and the people here are also very friendly. I would definitely recommend this hotel for travellers who maybe passing through Matamoros or for those who visit for business purposes.

This easily has to be the best location in Matamoros. It is 2 min walk from the nearby marketplace where you can enjoy food, do shopping, 3 blocks from a Spa, couple of blocks away from good restaurant. The hotel itself has an excellent restaurant and food. The staff working there is super friendly and cordial. They are very patient and helpful. The hotel manager Mr Salvador is an awesome person. If you plan to visit Matamoros then I will highly recommend staying here.

I am usually too lazy to write reviews but felt compelled to highlight the great service provided by this hotel and Mr. Salvador the owner. Mr. Salvador was extremely helpful all through the stay and with facilitating visits to the US consulate for visa processing. The hotel staff is exceedingly polite and seem eager to help. The rooms and facilities are clean and well maintained. The tasty and cheap food is a bonus.

I found this place on internet as I had read good words about Mr. Salvador from various immigration related websites and I second that opinion. Mr. Salvador have current information about the whole stamping process and really made the whole process easy and saved lot of time. Plus the rooms were clean and tidy and plus point is the location of the hotel. About the food - As I am vegetarian, and hotel restaurant have enough vegetarian dishes to choose from. Altogether I would highly recommend this place if you want to make your H1B Visa stamping process smooth. Thank You Mr. Salvador!

Purpose of my trip was to get my US visa stamped. I stayed 2 nights at Best Western Hotel Plaza Matamoros. The hotel is overall very comfortable and clean. The location of the Hotel is perfect!, Office of Consular services and US Visa consulate are very close - within 5 min drive. I'm a vegetarian, so I was not sure if I could get anything to eat at all. I knew zero Spanish - so was also concerned how to explain my specifications of the food at the restaurant. Salvador explained how the food did not contain any lard or egg or meat. They made all the food in house so he knew the ingredients well. I enjoyed the food I ordered every time. The fruit juices they have are freshly made in the restaurant. Mr. Castaneda Salvador is very friendly. Has good knowledge of the US consulate procedures. He has good advice on what is allowed into the consulate office (NO cellphones, smartwatches etc). Salvador went out of his way to ensure I got a room to sleep for the night. He was to give me a ride from Brownsville. I called him the night before my trip to check if he would be able to pick me up at Harlingen airport (30 miles away from original pickup spot). I was a bit worried about the ride in a taxi to a unfamiliar border town. Salvador agreed to pick me up at the airport late in the night. It was understandably way past his bed time. I was so pleased to see him ready to pick me up at the airport - very responsible. All our transport needs to and from the US consulate and the finger printing were taken care of for no additional cost. The Hotel staff is very courteous. Many of the staff members understand and speak english. They have wifi at the hotel. I could use Whatsapp to call US and even India. Free hot breakfast is good. I also used the treadmill at the Gym.

My friend has given contact of Mr Salvador for Hotel and guidance for VISA Extension Stamping. Salvador has given me all the information required. I stayed at this hotel for a night and the room was clean and tidy. Service/hospitality was excellent. As stated in the website, Mr Salvador takes care of everything with utmost care. We first heard about Matamoros and Best Western's services from our lawyer. Upon further research and reading the numerous positive reviews, we contacted Mr. Salvador to avail his service. The services provided by Mr. Salvador is well worth the price you pay for the stay. We did not have to worry about logistics or our safety for the duration of our entire trip. We were picked up at an agreed upon spot in Brownswille. He helped get us our Mexico 7 day permit that allows us to enter Mexico without a Visa stamp on your passport. He drove us to the Fingerprinting and Visa interview campuses, waited for us and dropped us off at the hotel. Mr. Salvador even gave us a small tour of the city and took us to a nearby local market. He made our stay extremely comfortable and safe during our 3 night stay at Matamoros. The hotel is conveniently located, close to US consulate. The in-house restaurant has good vegetarian options and they can also custom make certain dishes, if requested. Dominos delivers to the front lobby as well. We would highly recommend availing Mr. Salvador's service, if you are visiting Matamoros for your H1B stamping.

Upon recommendation from my friends, I contacted Mr Salvador for my hotel and visa stamping needs at Matamoros location. As advertised, Mr Salvador promptly picked us from Brownsville, TX and drove us to his hotel in Matamoros. We arrived there on Sunday 9th July. We were driven to the finger printing at about 08:45 the next day(10th July) and again to the consulate the next day(11th July). No major questions at the interview...just asked my petition and asked for the client letter. After a few minutes, the officer said he was not able to find the information in PIMS, but said not to worry. Unfortunately we were not able to get our passports the same day like many others, we had to wait until next day. After picking up passports, Mr Salvador dropped us at the border where we handed the Mexican cards back and they stamped the EXIT in the passport and headed over to US CBP. We waited for about 2-2.5 hours, though, there are not many people there. Once the officers started calling people, we cleared the Immigration and back in US soil in under 15mins. Simple questions at the border..just asked my petition, verified my US address.. and that's it. Overall, all went well.

We are 6 people went for H1B stamping in Matamoros and took Salvador services. He took nice care from the day we entered and leave the hotel. Food was good in the restaurant that is located in the hotel.

The hotel is old. It's not worth $75 dollars per night. To deserve the inserts de of the rooms you can imagine it like a $20 hotel room. Old furniture, hard beds, paid for 4 but you only get breakfast for 2. Dirty, the entire building is hot you have to stay in your room to cool off. Terrible. I can go on and on. Best bet find a cheap hotel down the road. The exterior looks good but don't be fooled.

I went to Matamoros for my visa stamping and stayed in Best Western for 2 days. It was awesome experience. it is very safe. Salvador and his staff are awesome. Wifi is really good. They have vegetarian menu :-)

I went to visa stamping for my H1B. The way they treat me is really good. I recommend to go with Salavor. He is really nice gentleman. Free wifi and printer facility to print documents.They will drop us near consulate

It was an awesome experience with Mr. Salvador and the whole staff at the hotel. This was a 2-day family vacation for the first time in Matamoros. The free breakfast was okay except for those who don't like Mexican foods.

This hotel is great in everything: cleanliness, service, good staff, comfortable beds, large spacing. The only thing that you get for breakfast is either fruit and coffee, or toast and coffee included. Everything else you have to pay (ham, eggs, chorizo, etc.) If you go for lunch or dinner, you get buffet.

Visited Matamoros for a couple of days to get my E-3 visa processed. The hotel location was very convenient, a stone's throw away from the markets. These markets presented excellent shopping opportunities. There were plenty of local eateries serving some delicious food. The hotel room was spacious. The hotel staff was very friendly. The manager Mr. Salvador was warm, gracious and an extremely helpful person. His services, where he provides transport to/from the USA border and the USA Consulate are highly recommended. He also enthusiastically showed us the local sights. The visa processing at the USA Consulate was quick. Day one ASC appointment, Day two, interview and passports handed by 3 p.m. Overall a fantastic stay in Matamoros.

Stayed at this hotel while on a visit to the city for Visa stamping and had quite a good experience at this hotel.A nice hotel in a small,clean city where people are polite and friendly. Hotel staff were quite courteous,accomodating and willing to help out or offer advice any way they can. Found it a little challenging with found, since was a vegetarian,but the kitchen staff and especially the chef(lunch/dinner) was understanding and made quite an awesome fried rice/veggies etc. Though have to watch out for the high calorie intake. Hotel Mgr , Mr.Salvadore was very nice and helpful during our visit and kudos to him and his staff for going out of their way.

I liked the hotel overall except that the water was only a trickle. The staff was friendly and the room was very clean. Oddly, the mattress was both hard and soft at the same time. With the peso so low, it was a good value in US dollars.

The hotel is clean and the breakfast was good ,etc but definetely NOT for a handicapped person since they have NOTHING available not even the simplest necesity a disabled person would need throughout the hotel. So if you have a disablility don't stay there. I did and regreted it so much we left as soon as we could and stayed somewhere else.

This is my second time stayed in Best Western Hotel in Matamoros. The hotel has a great renovation and upgrade. The room are very clean and comfortable. The wifi internet is fast and stable. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Mr. Salvador is a very reliable friend that you can trust especially for Visa Stamping Service. He and his assistant provide convenient transportation service for interviewing at US consulate in Matamoros. The hotel has great mexican food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Walking distance to local market for shopping and tourism.

good location, good food and Mr. Salvador is very knowledgeable about the visa stamping process. He and his assistant will pick you up and drop you off at appointment locations. The process helped me to focus on the preparation of visa process and did not have to worry about logistics.

Salvador and his people at the hotel were like family. They made sure we had everything. Vegetarian meals were available. Internet is good if you need to work. Swimming pool and Gym are useful if you are staying in the hotel most of the time.

The place is completely safe and Mr.Salvador took care of us really well. I went with my wife and initially we were skeptical but Matamoros was completely safe. Salvador's son picked us up from Brownsville and dropped us at the hotel. The hotel was clean and safe. The stuff were friendly and the food was good. We also walked to the downtown to check out the market and it was completely safe. There were many locals in the market. I would recommend Best Western for your stay. The price was a little on the high side but I would still recommend it.

I stayed at hotel for the purpose of stamping my H1B visa at Matamaros. All through Mr. Salvador was very helpful. He picked us up on Brownsville and took us to hotel. For next two days, he arranged transfers to US Consulate personally. On the second day, he also took us around for a driving tour of the city on his own! He is very knowledgeable and obviously very intelligent person. Ask him a question, and he replies exactly what is right. Thank you Salvador!

Mr. Salvador is very nice. He picked me up in Brownsville and drove me directly to hotel. He patiently answered all my questions. The stamp renewal process is smooth. I got my passport the same day I finished interview with consulate. The hotel staff are all very nice.

I have previously stayed at this hotel twice when I visited Mexico. I stayed about a week on both occasions. And I have known dozens of people that have stayed here as well. The owner holds the hotel to a high standard and is very involved. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. I never have to use the safe located in the room. I have left money out in my room (US & Pesos), jewelry and passport among other things worth value. Nothing was ever touched or went missing. There is even a gated parking lot for your vehicle with a 24 hour watchman outside. I highly recommend this safe and inviting hotel for your next stay in Mexico.

An awesome place and Salvador takes care of us very well. So safe. Local commute and shopping. Language is barrier, but, Salvador helps in translating. Getting border permit, commute to consulate and return.

Hello All, I went on Aug 29th evening and everything went well as per the instructions of Mr.Salvador. Amazing and down to the earth person picks you on time at the border, take you to his hotel, pretty decent hotel in that location, gives you complimentary breakfast (Either srambled eggs or omlette or Pan Cake) with Juice/Coffee. He takes you next day to the fingerprinting, in my case he waited for 5 minutes and picked me up immediately. He will take you to a nice authentic Mexican restaurant for lunch and probably have lunch with you. Next day, he picks you up for Visa Interview and gives you a prepaid phone card to call once your interview was over. He picks you in 10-15 min after you call the hotel. Evening he arranges either his assistant or himself to take you to the consulate for passport collection 15 minutes before 3 PM and drops you at the border where you need to walk down to the I-94 office. I took my mom as well and more than anything else, my mom enjoyed his kind service in terms of pick up drop, taking us to lunch, offering us to take for shopping in case of language barrier. This is the best hotel for the people going for Stamping in Matamoros. The staff and the owner Mr. Salvador are so kind and treat you like their own family and help you in every possible way. They gave the Complimentary breakfast for both the days (free of cost) and their lunch and dinner are well prepared and served at a reasonable rate (Veg & Non-veg). Mr. Selvador helps you in crossing the boarder from and to as well. The rooms are good in the hotel and the location is crime free. 9 out of 10 people who come for Visa to Matamoros are Telugu speaking and all of them stay in the same hotel

I went to Matamoros to renew my visa. And I chose to stay at Best Western Hotel Plaza Matamoros and used Mr. Salvador's service, without which my stay in Matamoros couldn't have been so pleasant and my visa process couldn't have been as smooth. The room is very comfortable and staffs were very friendly and helpful. The hotel cafeteria offers nice dining options. There is an old computer and printer in the hotel lobby, which turned out to be very helpful if additional documents were required for visa application. Overall, I am very thankful to everyone at Best Western Matamoros, including Mr. Salvador Castaneda and his assistant, as well as hotel staffs.

I came here with my husband to renew my visa and the service was excellent. Mr Salvador and his assistant were very helpful. Also the other staff at the hotel were nice I'll definitely refer this hotel service. This is my second time here and it was a good experience.

My visit to matamoros was made the most comfortable thanks to Mr.Salvador! The hotel is very clean, great restaurant with vegetarian options as well. The staff is very courteous and polite. Salvador picked us up at Brownsville and drove us to his hotel in matamoros. Next day he drove us to the ASC office for biometrics and the day after to the consulate for the visa interview. Highly recommended!

I stayed hear for 5 days due to PIMS( Petition Information Management System) update glitch with my H1 B, because my H1 was approved just one month before and PIMS was not updated yet. Had to check with embassy everyday on my VISA status, and Salvador was always available to give a ride to Embassy and talk to you, support you morally by sharing his vast experience with people who visited his hotel for VISA stamping. Not even a single minute I was under stress because of delay in PIMS update. Matamoros cousulater/embassy help and support crew were so helpful , were always respond to call and give updates on my case/approval. Overall my experience with my Matamoros trip was excellent. Got a chance to meet different people who visited from different location in US for VISA. Thanks to Salvador again for taking us to excellent local Sea Food restaurants and advicing the BEST food. Without Salvador I think my trip would have been a stressful. I strongly recommend this place and person for your future trips to Matamoros VISA or Tourism.

Fernando Castañeda and his staff provide every amenity and service at a very reasonable price. The hotel is scrupulously clean and quiet. Visited Matamoros with my family for Visa stamping. From picking us up from UETA parking lot to providing assistance during Visa stamping, Mr. Salvador and his team was very efficient. The staff is great and cheerful, and rooms are clean. Though our visa got delayed by a couple of days since people at USCIS had goofed up the gender on the visa, we felt safe in the hotel. The area was undergoing road construction, which should be over in next 6 weeks. In any case, great service by Mr Salvador!

Great service!! Great Staff... They took care of all the needs, have service to drop and pick from the US consulate for the stamping. Would recommend this as a great option of you are travelling to Matamoros for the purposes of Stamping. Salvador is a great gentleman. He gave us a trip of the old city, which gave a feel of the true authentic Mexico experience. Food at the restaurant was great and inexpensive.

I have stayed at this property before and liked what I experienced unfortunately this time around when I arrived I found that the street to the main entrance was under construction. and their parking area unavailable. It would have been nice if I was informed of this prior to my arrival. They did however, had parking available adjacent to the building. Except for this my stay was rather enjoyable, the breakfast was excellent and the attendant was very helpful in directing us to the parking area. I would definitely stay again.

We always stay here when we visit unless we stay with friends at their home. This was a quick trip so we stayed here. You can walk to the tourist souvenir shops. There are restaurants within walking distance or the hotel has a cafe. Plenty of hot water and the a/c kept the room cold. My only complaint is the people in the adjoining room had smoked in their room and when we returned for the evening we could smell it. I will return because it is well run and I feel safe here. If you need and help the owner is more than willing to help.

I recently went to the Best western hotel in Matamoros and was delightfully surprised as to the service I received from Mr Salvador and the rest of the hotel staff. Everyone was so pleasant and Mr Salvador was so kind and helpful. He offers extra services if you are going to stamp your visa and is well experienced so he can answer some questions. I had a very nice stay and would surely recommend this place to anyone else. Did i forget to mention the rooms were tastefully furnished and the food was good too. Enjoy!!!

I had travelled to Matamoros for Visa Stamping on the 18th of November, Mr Salvador picked me up from Brownsville, took me to the Hotel which was beyond my expectations, rooms were really nice and the staff was very courteous. Also the Services offered by Mr Salvador was second to none,He showed me around Matamoros, took me to a doctor (I had developed a rash during my stay) had ordered the medicines to be dropped off at the hotel. Since i was in Mexico i wanted to buy tequila, Mr Salvador himself took me to the local market and suggested the brand i buy. His Hotel and services are Highly recommend , he has taken care of me as one his own. Thanks a lot Mr Salvador.

We went to Matamoros to renew our visa at US Consulate.One of my friend suggested this hotel and Salvador's services. We are very surprised by the service provided by both Salvador(Hotel Manager/Owner) and other staff, The rooms were very clean and you get all US Cellular signals in top floors. We stayed two days and our stay was very pleasant with no problems. There is a restaurant in ground floor which is good. I will definitely recommend this hotel for the guys who are visiting Matamoros for US visa renewal.

We went to Matamoros since we needed to renew our Visas at the US Consulate. This is the perfect place to stay because it is clean, recently renovated, offers all kinds of amenities, the staff is friendly and very attentive, and it is just 5 minutes away from the US consulate. On top of that, if you go to mexicovisaservice.appspot.com, you can program your trip and a representative will meet with you in Brownsville, TX. So you can get to the hotel safely as well as to the US Consulate back and ford until it is time to go back home. We 100% recommend this hotel.

I went to Matamoros for my VISA stamping. I saw good reviews about Best Western Hotel in Matamoros and Salvador Castaneda, who is the owner of the hotel. He picked me up from Brownsville, Texas to Matamoros and I stayed in his hotel for 2 days. Rooms are very clean and restaurant was great and the entire staff was friendly. Salvador took me to the Consulate, ASC and at the end to the boarder bridge. My entire experience was great and I highly recommend this hotel for the great service. Don't forget to visit the local market, which is just a block away.

I was there for my visa interview and stayed at Best Western for 2 nights. It all started with Mr. Salvador picking me up from Brownsville, TX. He helped me through out the process. Hotel price was decent for the services he offer. I have to go to visa office three times, Mr. Salvador dropped me and picked me up all the three times. I bet he would have no issues if it would have been 10 times too. They have a nice decent dinning area with free breakfast! Do not worry If you are a vegetarian, they have a vegetarian menu too, they get fresh organic veggies and fruits from the local market there. He gave a city tour twice despite of his busy schedule. Mr. Salvador and his staff are all about customer service. If you are a person who believes in customer service this is the best place to stay. Thanks a ton for helping me Mr. Salvador!

Overall my trip was smooth and no complaints about the service and stay. Everything went smooth right from picking me up on the US side of the town and dropping off at the check point after I collected my passport. Very friendly staff and helped through all the way during the stay. Place was clean, well maintained and food was reasonable.

Regarding the hotel itself: - Location: the hotel sits in a very convenient location with 5mins drive to the finger print place and consulate. These are the places most of the people come here for. Plus the hotel staff is very responsive to dispatch vehicles to send you there/pick you up. - Room: not a fancy vacation style room, but clean and tidy. Have everything essential to keep you survive in this yet-a-little-bit-different world from the border. TV is provided but Wifi is the key. Bring your laptop and ipad/kindle for night life. In case of occasional Wifi signal reachability issue, choose a higher level room to get your AT&T signal and turn on tethering hotspot. - Restaurant: I'm not compromising my Asian taste. Rices are fantastic. English menu is provided, the waiter has limited English skill but very friendly. What's surprised me is: I've been visiting Mexico City before, so I kept tons of photos of delicious Mex dishes there. I showed the photo to our smart and friendly waiter, he nodded and send notes to the kitchen - although some of the options are not listed on the menu, they're flexible to offer you as close as possible for what you want to eat. - Services: house keeping every day. But the real value-added service is everything Mr Salvador and his staff provided during your 2 days (maybe more) of visa application to make sure the logistic is error-free. He'll pick you up from US and reach the hotel fast to insure you have time to rest for the next day - the procedure for crossing Mexico border could be complicated and time consuming without local transportation. And the hotel has printer in case of some document is found missing in last minute check - actually I forgot my resume DURING the visa interview, Salvador sent the driver to fetch me back to hotel, where I then printed pages lightening fast, and then the hotel driver sent me back in line to resume my interview. - The hotel and Salvador's service cannot guarantee anything about your visa issue procedure itself: they're not lawyers or visa officers. But the real value they provided is: everything in logistic which enables you to focus on your visa material preparation, to convince the visa officer in the interview itself. A safe and clean environment to stay, a friendly staff team to help from door to door transportation, border crossing and more. - Even you did not get your visa immediately issued, there could be an ugly administrative processing case by case, it's not any fault about the hotel service itself. Actually Salvador offered several options to those who got a "check" after the visa interview, in order to help them survive the tough times while waiting for the pending visa issued.
