« Great place to stay »

The Best western I had a suite with king sized bed and spa bathroom. For the price and being a Friday night it was amazing. The bed was lovely and comfortable. The room was quiet and the heating was good. It is a little way out of town but not out of the question for walking. Outdoor pool and spa were clean and warm. On site restaurant is very good.

    « A Pleasant Stay »

We were surprised at the large size of the room. The room was spotlessly clean and the bathroom was generous in size, not pokey and small like a lot of bathrooms in hotels. We ate at Cascades on site restaurant. Though the menu is limited, the servings are very generous and our pizzas were delicious. We look forward to staying here on our return journey from Victoria. Will definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends.

    « An exceptional property.... »

The property s on the north side of Goulburn, and slightly out of town. My accommodation was booked by work at very short notice. The pleasant surprise was that instead of a basic room we were upgraded to what I think is a King Suite. Wow. The room was very large. It has a kitchenette, plus mini-bar fridge. There is an upstairs bedroom as well, though rightly this was locked off. The bathroom is spacious and has separate shower and toilet. The basin and bathtub are together. A large work desk is provided. Wifi worked well. The onsite restaurant is of good quality, and reasonably priced. We enjoyed our meals there. There are a couple of down sides, though not deal breakers at all. The minibar fridge compressor was rattly to the point that I turned it off. The toilet is odd at best. It is very small, and really although it has a door, you need to have this open else you are very cramped. Strange design for such a good hotel. Lastly, there is building works to expand the property. These do not interfere with the stay, though the car park is slightly disrupted. This will go away. All in all, this was a good stay, and I would more than willingly visit again.

    « Comfortable and roomy »

Our overnight stay in Goulburn was great. Staff were helpful and even though our 3 bedroom apartment was off sight (barely) it was all very easy. The property allowed room for friends to drop by as there was an outdoor area. Breakfast was also easy and tasty.

    « Country Welcome? Not. »

We were a large group in a large and expensive room. In town for a special event and so the price was very high. We were not welcomed, check-in woman was not warm or friendly; had anticipated a better arrival given the positive reviews. No concessions made for a late check-out and a passive aggressive loaded warning that if exceeded check out time, penalty would apply. There's a way to greet people, a way to inform people of policy -- and both failed in the communication. The room/s - adjoining, were mostly very clean - actually it was very clean, only the mugs were not. It's an old room with a spa tub in one of the two bathrooms. That has no shower curtain, which it needs as the shower head is affixed to the wall at the deepest point of the tub. It meant a contortionist back bend to get your head under. If I were to point the shower head at a better angle, water would go everywhere. Given the price we paid, just under $400 - it would have been very nice to be extended some concessions on a slightly later check out -- and I think everyone is entitled to be greeted well. It's a very busy date for Goulburn and it definitely felt we were simply a high paying night and not a repeat customer. The room would suit a family group - but there was some talk of additional costs if we were more than four. The room would sleep 4 in two queen beds (comfy) and there's an additional 2 single beds in the adjoining room. 2 bathrooms and a kitchenette. Minibar and fresh milk provided. Good range of tea bags and plenty of cups and glasses - just that several needed proper washing before use. The courtyard and car park (which is motel style, outside each room) - is under lit and there's a very oddly constructed pool occupying the entrance way driveway. It's a glass box. I can't believe that's been approved by council - there's too few (and too dim), lights around it. I can imagine a car driving straight through the glass, particularly an elderly person could have difficulty with this, and without some kind of proper barrier...well, it just seems dangerous. I know this review is out of step with other people's experience - but I am disappointed with our experience, particularly in view of the very high rate and old (but clean), room.

    « Comfortable »

Stopped over on way between Melbourne and Brisbane. I like great westerns because they usually have a restaurant. What a absolute lovely meal, very happy. The room was good and cosy but the bathroom was down stairs so had to travel up and down to go to bathroom during the night. The bed was good as was the pillows. I recommend this hotel for an over night stay.

« Went the extra mile »

One night stopover on way to Sydney. Nice hotel. Great buffet breakfast and room service. We were given a different room to what we were told on the phone. The hotel gave us free breakfasts to apologise for the error which we appreciated. The pool is OK for a quick dip. It's indoor and heated.

    « Fantastic »

Fantastic ! Large, clean, modern rooms off the main road nice and quiet. Dealt with David very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay at this hotel again. Ps it's worth becoming a best western member saved about $25.

    « Overnight in Goulburn »

Had to to be at an early morning meeting in town on the Monday so stayed on Sunday night in Goulburn. I was able to travel from Newcastle in the evening with less traffic on the road which made for a pleasant journey. The room was very comfortable with a huge bathroom which had a bath tub, and separate shower. The room has 2 fridges, one with all the usual mini-bar stuff and the other fridge empty to be able to put my cold goods into without having to empty out the contents. Great idea as well as the small kitchen sink to use instead of having to use the bathroom sink to fill up the electric jug.

    « Great service »

I got let down by the Lilac City Motel (that's a whole story in itself) but had a great experience at Best Western. The staff there were friendly, efficient and courteous. The room I had was large and bed comfortable. I would definitely recommend it for a business overnight stay.

    « Exceptional »

Our King Room was huge, comfortable and quiet. However, the best thing about this hotel is the management and staff. During happy -hour I was offered hot snacks, cheese platter and peanuts. The wine pour was generous and the staff exceptionally attentive. I was very impressed with the manger and staff during a very busy buffet dinner.

« A bit on the dark side... »

First thing that struck is when we entered our room was: "Very dark". We stayed three nights in a King Suite with Spa. All had been recently renovated and looked clean. Downstairs a lounge room and bath room and upstairs a large bedroom with king bed. If only the windows had been twice the size. The small windows made it all a bit pokey - especially downstairs. Apart from the light it was really comfortable. Two good lounge chairs, a desk for the laptop and reasonably fast WiFi, large screen smart TV's both downstairs and upstairs in the bed room. The bath room was luxurious with two wash basins and a spa bath and shower. Coffee and tea making facilities with plenty of supplies that were daily checked. A totally automated minibar in a separate fridge: don't take out a bottle to check the brand or it will end up on your bill... The hotel is located on the fringe of Goulburn CBD - about five/ten minutes walk to the main shopping area. Breakfast is buffet style with eggs cooked to order with a good choice of fruit, juices, bread and the like. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Check in and check out was a pleasure.

    « Room 107 is haunted »

Stayed at the hotel for the night, we had a good experience to start off with, but things started to turn sour during the night. There is a presence in this room, and not of the good kind. We could hear someone laughing, and with it being late at night, there was no one outside, and the rooms are soundproof so it wasn't any of the neighbours. We ran out of our room roughly 5 in the morning due to being so scared... we heard heavy footsteps coming up the stairs, and my partner and I both saw the light switch being turned on and off very quickly. If it wasn't for this, our experience would have been lovely, as the rooms are beautiful. My recommendation is to get this room cleansed, as I do not wish anyone else to experience what we experienced.

    « Family trip »

    « Great accommodation »

We stopped here on our way home. Amazing value, beautiful queen apartment= 2 queen beds and kitchenette Bathroom amazing also and very quiet. Front desk staff efficient. We decided to eat at the restaurant ( Cascades) as we didn't feel like going into town and were delightfully surprised at how great the food and service was. Just some feed back ... get better ironing board .. it didn't stand up and check appliances as our toaster didn't work. Over all great find .. and thanks for a lovely stay.

« Neat and friendly staff »

« Great pleasant staff - very comfortable rooms »

Easy to find the property, straight forward check in, very comfortable room with air conditioner already running. the room was very clean. The staff in the restaurant were very professional and relaxing and friendly. The shower was disable friendly with a wonderful shower rose. We hope to be back.

« Excellent facilities, location and exceptional staff! »

Our experience with Best Western Goulburn has been exceptionally excellent throughout! Located a short distance out of Canberra, which was our destination, we found Goulburn a favourable spot. The staff were so accommodating to our needs and the whole experience was flawless. The room was truly wonderful, the cleanest of facilities, spacious with current décor. Our stay was made even more pleasant because of all the staff and their hospitality, they were both professional and very friendly. I highly recommend and will definitely stay again when in the area xx Thank you Best Western Plus Goulburn!!

    « Fabulous »

This accommodation is fantastic. Very clean and modern. Rooms very comfortable including bed. Bathroom shampoo etc look upmarket. Bath was a bonus. Although we didn't go in the pool or spa, it was an added bonus to the property. Great and helpful staff. Awesome rates. Walking distance to CBD.

    « Comfortable stop over »

Good stay. Quick check in. At the entrance, in the courtyard, there is a small inside pool with a hot tub. Free wifi. No breakfast was included in our rate but next to the hotel there is a restaurant and they also serve breakfast. Our room, a double room on one floor, was well furnished and comfortable. The bathroom was average but the shower was huge. Complimentary water and biscuits. All the room face the courtyard where you also park your car so the view is nothing special. Free self parking. Overall, a good value for money.

« Great place to stop »

We stayed in one of the houses. It was great place to stop overnight on our road trip from Sydney to Geelong. The house has good sized bedrooms, it is clean and has two bathrooms. Very happy to stay here again next trip

« stop over to Melbourne »

This was a unplaned stop and a late checkin was great. Staff at office was most helpful and late at night very welcomeing. Have another trip down to Melbourne in 2018 and will be booking this one ahead.

« Best Western Goulburn raises the bar »

Mine is just one more rave review about Best Western Goulburn. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and well maintained and the staff are exceptional. And to top it all off, their restaurant is fantastic so you don't have to leave the property to enjoy a great meal; dinner or breakfast. You will not be disappointed when you stay here as all in all, it is good value for money. And, you get a good nights sleep with no traffic noise to disturb your restful sleep.

    4
    « Good value, clean & friendly »

I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel, the staff are wonderful & friendly and the rooms large, comfortable and very clean! my husband, daughter, along with her husband, 2 small children (2 & 6weeks) and myself were in Goulburn overnight for an event at Wakefield Park the following day. Upon arrival at the hotel it was discovered only one room had been booked for my husband & myself. Our daughter had somehow either booked another motel or somehow did not secure the booking she was certain she had made.. The gentleman at reception was outstanding.. he made every effort to help us, offering to call other properties to see if she had booked there, offering information to help us. He not only found a suitable room for my daughter but was very happy to ensure we were close to each other.. We were unexpectedly joined later for dinner by other family members so we asked to book into Cascades Restaurant unfortunately we needed seating for 10.. although this wasn't possible Mark in the restaurant went to great lengths to try to accommodate us.

    « Fabulous »

A fabulous stay every time we stay at this centrally localed hotel right in the heart of goulburn. The staff are so friendly - such excellent hosts, the food and drinks at their bar are excellent, and their rooms are so spacious and comfortable

    « Welcoming and enjoyable »

When your on a business trip you want a clean and comfortable room and staff that make you feel at home. That's what Goulburn Best Western is for me. Breakfast is good value and flexible and there is a secure late check in service. I will be back

    « No 24 hour contact »

My partner and I recently stayed at the goulburn best western for my friends wedding. The room was large and nice and had plenty of parking. The only issue I encountered was the lack of a 24 hour staff member. I had a very noisy neighbour and was unable to find any contact numbers at the time. In the end I was forced to lodge a noise complaint with the police. I would definitely stay there again if they were able to secure a 24 hour contact.

    5
    « Excellent Experience »

This hotel went above and beyond expectations. Our room was clean and spacious and we were given all the condiments (including bottled water) to make our stay a pleasant and comfortable one. The paid TV (Netflix etc) was a wonderful bonus for the kids.

    5
« Excellent for weary Sales Rep. »

Work books my motels all around the State and they can be anything from 1 star to 4. When I pulled up outside I had no idea what to expect, especially when I saw renovation work being carried out. The guy behind the counter was friendly and professional and he gave me the key to the room. I couldn't believe it when I opened the door and saw the work desk, chairs and huge TV on the wall. The bathroom and spa were very impressive and then I went upstairs to the bedroom and it was massive with another huge TV. My only complaint is that I was only there for one night and I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

    5
    « Great comfortable place »

I was here recently for work. Never very confidant in my work's choice of hotel but I was surprised this time. I was in a room with a king bed with the most comfortable pillows I have ever used (I wanted to steal them- I didn't however) The room was clean and practical. Huge warm shower! Breakfast in the restaurant was beautiful... try the scrambled eggs. Dinner was rissoles and rich chocolate mousse. Lovely, friendly staff made my two night stay pleasant. I would choose to stay here next time.

  • 4
    « King suite »

We stayed in the king suite for one night on our way from Melbourne to Sydney, we loved our stay and enjoyed the big bath and relaxing room, our kids enjoyed their room upstairs with their own TV so it was a very relaxing night stay after a long day. We also enjoyed a lovely meal in the restaurant which i couldn't fault. the room could do with a paint and some minor maintenance but overall I was very happy with the room for the price.

    5
« Excellent for corporate business »

Usually, I read reviews before I book anywhere and for the first couple of places this week, I was beginning to lose faith in reviewers. Either I'm harsh or have much higher standards or the owners friends and relatives are completing reviews..... However, this motel exceeded all expectations! Early check in (we were early around 12:30) no problem, room upgrade as well, clean, tastefully furnished, quality finishes and at 2:15pm a call to reception to see if there was any chance of getting a sandwich. Not a hint of too much trouble, delivery of a freshly made sandwich arrived 10 mins later. Restaurant for dinner and the best (I've seen a few) breakfast made this place in my top 3 list this year! Keep up the good work team! See you next trip.

    « Luxurious »

Love our suite with two large bedrooms, both with TV and desk, and cupboards. This time we got room service, so we could make the most of our gorgeous apartment, and not leave it!!! Food was top quality and creative. We are looking forward to going back.

    « Family Overnight Stay »

We thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay. The Best Western was very easy to find and is well situated, close to all amentities. Our room was excellent, it was a 2 level apartment. My 2 girls had a ball sleeping upstairs whilst hubby and I had the kingsize bed downstairs. We ordered room service for dinner and had breakfast in the restaurant, the food was absolutely yummy!! The staff were super friendly and helpful. I came away feeling quite relaxed.

    5
« Great stay in Goulburn! »

We had a spacious room with a large ensuite with full size bath. The decor was very attractive with large leather chairs. King size, very comfortable bed and pillows. The room had a microwave, toaster, kettle etc. Excellent TV and reception. The room was immaculate and quiet. On arrival we were notified of happy hour in the restaurant by friendly reception staff. There is a communal laundry and a pool available. There was absolutely nothing else we could have asked for. Highly recommend.

    5
    « Best stay »

Absolutely fabulous service. Accommodation was just beautiful and clean. Customer service was brilliant especially when we were checking in late and was greeted so warming. Confirmation call in the afternoon to see what time we were going to get there and explain road works and was told not to stress. Made the whole trip ideal. The bath was huge and bathrooms were amazing. Wanted to stay longer.

    4
    « One night stopover »

We needed somewhere to stay to break a long journey. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. We were in one of the King Loft rooms. The bathroom was nice although strangely very long and narrow. The shower was over a corner spa bath which made it a little difficult to get in and out. The stair treads up to the bedroom were a little narrow. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The televisions were a decent size and good quality. Strangely the pool is inside a glass room in the middle of the carpark. I suppose the expense would be prohibitive but I would think they would be better off getting rid of it.

    5
    « Terrif Motel »

This is about the forth time we have visited this motel. We had a great self contained room that was very comfortable. A good size TV was also available. It is within a short walk of the main street or a very short drive to the clubs. The check in was easy and the staff very friendly. I would highly recomend this motel.

    3
« Looks nice from the outside »

At first glance this looks like a nice place to stay. Upstairs/downstairs, TV on both floors. The WiFi was perfect. However, with the bedroom upstairs & the only bathroom downstairs, nightime visits to the toilet were a bit of a problem. The huge bed was extremely uncomfortable with a large hard ridge right down the centre. A mini bar is provided with automatic charging to your room which could be a problem for vistors with curious children.

    5
    « Great and convenient »

Lovely place to stay. Our was immaculate, reception staff were lovely. They offered me fresh milk for my young boy which was very nice of them. Definitely will be staying here again. Highly recommend anyone visiting Goulburn to stay here

    « Exceeded expectations »

I only stayed for one night for work, but found Best Western Goulburn a pleasant surprise and good value for money. Staff were so welcoming and helpful. The room was very clean and the king loft was great value for money. The continental breakfast was much better than many other higher rated hotels - with selections of fresh mango, grain sourdough, fresh rhubarb compote, avocado, jam in jars (not individual packs) and good coffee. Service was excellent. Bring your swimmers (wish I had) as there is a small heated pool.

    5
    « excellent service »

have stayed twice at Best Western Goulburn and have found the staff and service excellent and friendly. The rooms are great, clean and tidy and the Cascades Restaurant food is awesome especially the Pizza. Will stay here on every visit to Goulburn.

    « Lovely :) »

Really love to stay here! Jackie at the front desk is a very friendly and helpful receptionist! All the desk staff are really lovely! The rooms are always clean and it's in a great location. The hot tub is .. well.. hot! Haha A great place to stop when travelling through Goulburn! :)

    « Relaxing & restful overnight stay »

Broke our journey from Melbourne to Sydney with an overnight stay about 3 weeks ago. Clean, comfortable, with quiet and efficient heating & ample hot water for showering, the hotel provided us with a relaxing and restful break. Although it was alongside the "main" road, we were oblivious to any traffic noise. Two days after having checked out, I realised that I may had inadvertantly left my iPhone charger and cable in the room. Called reception, and indeed they had the item in their possession - many thanks to the housekeeper and staff for their honesty - and arranged for its return by post. Would not hesitate to stay there again! .

    5
    « A Very Comfortable Overnight Stay »

Decided to break the trip back to Melbourne with an overnight stay on Goulburn. With 3 in need of accommodation, I was unsure of what we would get, but was pleasantly surprised. Enjoyed a King room with loft accommodation for up to another 4 people. The room was spacious, quiet and well appointed, with very comfortable beds. Heated swimming pool was available as was a restaurant with a reasonable menu. The property looks as if it is extending its accommodation but do not be put off by this. Overall, a very pleasant stay

    4
    « Best breakfast ever »

We used trip advisor to book a loft room including buffet breakfast for two adults and one teen. The room had its pros and cons. Pros: very comfortable mattress on the king bed, good heating, spa bath. Cons: bathroom door badly positioned, bathroom is downstairs, sofa bed is upstairs, no bowls or spoons in room (we needed for icecream). The buffet breakfast was one of the best we've ever had - excellent variety, freshly ground expresso coffee and friendly staff.

« Top choice when staying in Goulburn! »

Staying at Best Western Goulburn was really a fluke as everything in the town was pretty much booked out on our recent trip through the area. Now we have found this gem we will be staying there again! It is currently having a new accommodation wing under construction built but don't let that or the lack of street appeal fool you... We stayed in a room with two queen beds. The room was both clean and very well appointed making it very comfortable. The bathroom was a good size with a separate shower and toilet as well as a large bath. We enjoyed our breakfast very much with eggs made to order, great coffee and a really good breakfast buffet on offer. We found the staff friendly and obliging. Overall this is a great choice when staying in Goulburn.

« One night stop - very comfortable »

Booked this hotel for convenience on way back from the snow to Sydney. The outside isn't much to look out but once you're in, it's clean, comfortable and well maintained. The bathroom, beds and Tv had been upgraded and there was free wifi. The staff at reception were very nice and friendly. There is an onsite indoor pool and spa which we didn't use but lots of other guests were enjoying. It was pretty quiet and we all had a good rest. There is also a restaurant where we ate dinner. The only weird thing was the bathroom had an internal window into the bedroom but it has a blind so not a problem (just very odd!). We would stay there again.

    4
    « Family weekend away »

Stayed here for 2 nights in a 2 bedroom apartment. Apartment was very clean, modern and contained everything we needed for a family stay. Beds were huge and extremely comfortable. Televisions in both rooms also was a great bonus for us and the kids. Living area in the apartment is quite large and the kitchen was very modern. Individual heating in each room kept us very warm. The indoor heated pool an spa were both very clean and the kids enjoyed their swim. Apartments were very quiet and parking was ample. Would definitely stay here again.

« We stay here every time, and will stay again. »

Goulburn is a handy overnight stop for us when we travel on our occasional roadtrips north, and this motel has become our favourite. The King Superior room is spacious and well appointed, with a completely marble tiled large bathroom with the shower adjacent to the bathtub, both being behind the shower screen. Very roomy! The restaurant offers good food and is also popular with locals - it is advisable to book ahead on weekends. One minor complaint is that the menu, also on display in the rooms, shows a picture of each dish but my meal looked nothing like the picture. Instead of receiving a slab of salmon on a banana leaf, I was presented with a flat, crumbed piece of fish that resembled a schnitzel! It was still delicious though. A great advantage of staying in this motel is the fact that breakfast is available in the restaurant from a very early 6:00am during the week, and slightly later on weekends, which is very convenient when you have a long journey ahead. We will be back!

« So much better than expected!! »

Being a hotelier myself I have a certain level of expectation when staying in other properties and must say I was highly impressed, have never stayed in a Best Western before so wasn't sure what to expect. I believe we were given a free upgrade to a very nice and spacious 2 bedroom apartment, one of the best hotel room apartments I have stayed in. Received a friendly courtesy call the night of my arrival to confirm my ETA and received very efficient and polite service from Rhiannon at front desk. Would certainly recommend and stay again next time I am in Goulburn.

    « Rooms have EVERYTHING »

This trip was not business for once, but I discovered a gem hidden along my most travelled Highway, 31 or "The Hume" My wife has also commented about the Hotel/Motel and all is a big OK. We requested a 2 bedroom apartment, the Best Western rate was good, but we had not yet sighted the room. The first level is all kitchen, bathroom and lounge room. Upstairs are the 2 bedrooms Downstairs, the kitchen has a large refrigerator, separate automatic mini bar, dishwasher, oven, microwave and much more than you would ever see. Better than Quest or other apartment hotels. Bathroom has both shower, separate large bath and fantastic water pressure without the usual water saver shower heads, we both loved the bathroom. Lounge featured a huge Samsung Smart TV, Dining table, office deck and many comfy lounge chairs The balcony overlooked the Governors Tower and the morning sunrise. The airconditioning was already on when we arrived, the very best touch that is rarely seen in accomodation today. There are aircon units in all bedrooms as well as the lower level. The powerful Mitsubishi Commercial system will cope very well in the heat and cold loads of this elevated Highland city. ( 702 metres above sea level ) Nothing is too much trouble, we decided at 9.00am to have room service breakfast, it was delivered within 10 minutes. Goulburn is one of my most frequent destinations and I look forward to many more visits each year. Love the cheery staff and professional attitude.

    « Reception Rudeness! »

We enjoyed our stay, everything was lovely and well presented on arrival. The following morning we went to the dining room for breakfast. The woman on reception was sour faced, rude and very unpleasant. We let her know our room number and said we were there for the buffet breakfast. With a condescending tone, she quickly told us that we would have to speak to the dining staff about breakfast, not her! I watched as she dealt with other guests and noticed the same cold, stone faced reception. I later enquired as to the name of the woman - Vicky Rap johns.

Friendly staff and great room, very happy I chose this hotel. The bed and pillows were excellent, I went with a group and everyone had the same story - very comfortable accommodation, wished I could have stayed another night to fully enjoy.

« Great value, very comfortable and we enjoyed the restaurant so much! »

Best Western, we like you! Not very far off the M1 and easy to find. Check-in was professional and without delay after a long drive from Victoria. Great communication observed between all staff and visiting guests. The property was buzzing the night we stayed. They have a lot of units and the place appeared to be almost fully booked. It was a very chilly night but heating in room was efficient. Bed and bed linen were clean, sheets cosy, very comfortable, nice quality - exceptionally good. Room and bathroom were both clean and very spacious with bath and separate shower. Nice separate seating PLUS small table and chairs. Plenty of baggage space. No exterior noise and enjoyed a great nights sleep (King Superior room for $165 per night, Seniors Rate). The lobby, lounge and restaurant areas were all well heated. Nice touches to the décor in public spaces. Their CASCADES RESTAURANT would measure up to some of the best in big city environs. Ambience excellent. Nicely trained staff. Presentation and flavours of food were excellent. Menu offered plentiful variation for culture and palate. A lovely finale to a long day. Recommend highly and would stay again.

    « Not a bad option for a stay »

We have stayed at a few of the hotels in Goulburn and this is one of the better options. The lofts are a great idea and having a heater in the bathroom is an added bonus. Large tv both upstairs and downstairs is great. Rooms are very clean and staff friendly. There is a microwave and toaster in the room for those who want it. We would definitely consider staying again.

    « World Class Motel »

My husband and I stayed at this hotel and were pleasantly surprised that unlike a lot of country or regional motels it is very modern, clean and very much like a city hotel. The staff were all great and we enjoyed the breakfast. Would highly recommend.

« A good 4-star hotel. For short stay or passing through. »

Chose this motel as a half way point on our trip from Melbourne to Port Macquarie. It's nothing fancy but definitely one of the better motels I have stayed in. If you need a comfy but affordable place to stay for a short period of time, then give this a go.

« Surprising find - the perfect place to stay with children »

We stayed in a loft apartment with three adults & three children. Plenty of room (kids LOVED the loft), spotlessly clean, beautiful bathroom (the MILK bath products only added to the overall impressive experience), and super comfortable pillow-top mattresses. We also dined in the restaurant for breakfast - best continental selection we have ever found (especially gluten-free).

    4
    « Little gem »

Roomy apartments, clean and fresh. Well priced restaurant with family orientated menu. Freshly made leaf tea for breakfast. A surprise. A city class motel and a welcome break from the tired old normal country motels. Staff were not intrusive.

    « Poor business practices »

Called this property to make an accommodation booking as an overnight stop for an upcoming road trip to Sydney. I had checked prices online and found them to be fair and reasonable. When I called the property to make the reservation, I was informed that because I needed a wheelchair accessible room that the cost would be more than the advertised online price as the room 'category' was different. What??? I'm tired of hotels and their discriminatory practices when it comes to disabled guests. We don't care what 'category' your accessible room is. We just need a room like any other traveller. Why should we pay more to be able to safely use a bathroom?? We'd be grateful if we were physically able to use a 'standard' room. People don't make a choice to be confined to a wheelchair. For this reason I have decided to fly to Sydney as airlines don't charge me extra because I'm in a wheelchair. They actually go above and beyond to assist. Disgraceful behaviour by Best Western. I have sent an email to your head office and to the anti discrimination board of Australia.

Comfortable hotel with everything you could need. The rooms are well presented and very clean and the heated pool area is amazing Had breakfast at the Resturant which was delicious and affordable. There was only one rude staff member but i wouldnt let her ruin our night

« Easy access off the Hume Hwy & quiet, comfortable accommodation »

Just a few minutes of the Hume Hwy and on the edge of Goulburn is this Best Western. Quiet stay and good well appointed rooms. Perfect for a night or two's stay. Plenty of parking and close to town. beds are comfortable and linen clean and fresh. The room was warm and checking in was easy with great staff on hand. Enjoyable experience

    « REVISIT »

We have stayed here previously and the rooms were so nice we decided to revisit and see if it was as good an experience as last time. In short, yes it was. Staff at reception were helpful, informative and cheerful. We selected a room with two queen beds this time after a long 9 hr drive, very comfy, plenty of pillows, semi kitchen with microwave, sink, plates etc, cutlery, separate shower and bath, nice lounge and desk fo working if required. Little or no traffic noise, the only con would be the renovation work being carried out at the front of the building if you wanted a long sleep in, this could impact on your stay, but was not of a concern to us. Room service is quick and excellent as was the buffet breakfast the next morning, very reasonably priced and a good selection. We enjoyed our stay so much that we stayed again a week later on our return trip from Brisbane.

    « Great Beds »

Our family of five had a restful stay at this Best Western. They supply all you need , tea, coffee and milk and the usual snacks from the snack bar (extra of course). The facilities are dated but very clean and comfortable. The reception staff were very helpful.

« Very comfortable and spacious room »

On our way back to Sydney from Victoria we decided at the last minute to stop over in Goulburn. Drove through the town, saw the Best Western sign, and walked in. A very pleasant receptionist welcomed us and offered a deluxe room at a good rate, so we decided to stay one night. The room was large and spacious, the bathrooms very large with a shower and separate bath. Plenty of amenities. The room itself has a kitchenette on one side and a microwave, and is very modern and nicely set up. The king-sized bed was more than comfortable, the TV programs quite extensive and we like that the Internet is included in the price. Our summary: comfortable room well priced, very spacious bathroom, lovely bed. That's all we need for a stopover like this.

    « Overnight for work »

Excellent place for work stay over. The rooms are extremely nice and comfortable. Close to town. Choice of room set up from two storey to single storey rooms and self contained units. Staff are very polite and helpful. Free unlimited Wi-Fi. Absolutely recommend for any type of stay over.

« Great family sized accommodation! »

Whst a little gem! I was pleasantly surprised at the size of of two bedroom apartment. We decided to visit for a mini break and we were not disappointed. The cleanliness was A+ and room to accomadate a 1 year old and boisterous teenager without a problem. A spacious living area with doors was the perfect place for our 1 year old daughter to safely play whilst maintaining peace and functionality for the rest of the family. We enjoyed a quiet swim in the heated pool which was lovely, and the staff were very pleasant. The only thing I would be able to find fault with was the WI-FI because the signal did not reach the upstairs bedrooms in our apartment (slightly frustrating) but l'm sure it could be fixed with a check of range. So more of a small issue overall.

    « Plenty of room »

What a great place to stay, highly recommend. Was a great last minute booking for my family of 6, over Easter just to get something to stay was a plus, but could not have been more happy with the place. Will be back to stay again.

    « Attend a Swap Meeting »

Hotel very clean. Staff helpful and friendly. Room spacious well set up. Bathroom above expectations . Dinner at the Hotel was a buffet or a la carte. I had the buffet which was exceptional. Breakfast was also a superb buffet. I would definitely stay again and would not hesitate this Hotel to my friends.

    « Quick stopover »

We decided to stay the night in Goulburn on our way home from holidays. I called the motel direct and specified a king bed ground floor room with no stairs . Checkin was easy with our keycard easy to access. We were very pleased with the room. It was spacious, clean and modern and the bed was comfortable . The bathroom was exceptional and luxurious with a separate bath . The only complaint was that we were only provided with two towels. We regularly stay at Best Western and will return.

    « Excellent - Plus »

We decided to visit Goulburn and have a good explore of the town, so we needed some accommodation. We called Best Western before leaving Jerilderie and made a booking for a two bedroom unit. We arrived to a super friendly welcome. The room we were given was absolutely brilliant. It was a double story room with both bedrooms upstairs. The quality of the room was outstanding. It came with a full kitchen including full size fridge, and a mini bar fridge, microwave etc. The bathroom was beautifully presented with glass walls and doors which was very classy. Aside from the large shower, you also got a spa bath. The bedrooms and lounge all had individually controlled aircon, and TV's. There was also a balcony off the lounge with plenty of room to sit comfortably. They also have their own restaurant on site. We had dinner and breakfast there, and on both occasions, the food was excellent. We had the buffet dinner and buffet breakfast, and the selection of food on both occasions was first class with a spectacular selection offered. Best Western Goulburn as far as we were concerned was faultless. We chose well

    « Great accommodation »

We had a very enjoyable stay at the BW Goulburn, all the staff were very friendly and helpful...they serve a great seafood buffet and breakfast. The room was great. They get a 9 out 10 from us. I would recommend this motel

    « Spa Loft »

After 14hrs on the road I found the spa loft to be quiet, comfortable and well priced. The room service steak was prepared nicely and very edible. I ordered it at time of check-in barely able to function without checking the price. Not $35 quality but I paid for it on departure and think I got charged a delivery fee for it being walked 5 doors down.Tired traveller beware. I would stay again though.

    5
« Should be a Best Western "PLUS" »

Room was huge, with a very comfortable King Bed and well fitted out with plently of drawer and hanging robe space. A huge bathroom which was extremly clean (possibly the biggest we have seen in a motel). This motel certainly needs to be classified as a Best Western Plus with its exceptional restaurant for breakfast and dinner. A top mark to the hosts!

« Great stay at Best Western Goulborn »

Our second stay in as many months, first stay due to a breakdown, the town was almost booked out but they found us a room second time towing a trailer again found us a great room where we could also park the trailer. The staff are very friendly, helpful and courteous, the rooms are good size, clean and modern. Both times we had a delightful dinner in the restaurant. We will definitely stay there again.

« Wonderful place to stay as a couple »

Stayed there for 1 night. Stayed in Queen loft luxury room. The room was very nice with kitchenette, bathroom (with spa) and sitting area downstairs. In the loft was another sitting area and the bedroom. Everything was lovely. The receptionist was very helpful. We ordered room service for dinner. Very nice and not expensive. The employee who delivered the room service was exceptionally nice. When we tried to order the room service over the phone it was always engaged so ended up walking over to reception. Only 2 small issues - spa could have been a bit bigger to fit 2 people in it; and going downstairs through the night to use the bathroom. We did leave the kitchenette light on so we could see the stairs.

    4
    « Very impressed »

The suite was great- really modern and very spacious. Bathroom was all marble- felt very luxurious - shower was amazing- great pressure and temperature. Noise of other guests outside in the morning was a bit of an issue however this isn't really anything the hotel can control. The parking was a bit 'quick and the dead' and seemed informal but would definitely stay there again.

    « Good stay »

Recently stayed at the best western Goulburn. The rooms were clean and well appointed. The staff are most helpful and the attached restaurant serves good quality meals . There are renovations being carried out but they do not interfere with the comfort of the guests. Highly recommend

« Great motel for overnight stay »

Stayed overnight for a catchup with family. We had a basic room (ie lowest price) and the room was very comfortable with shampoos, etc provided in bathroom. Other family members had better rooms, one with a king size bed, another had a 2 storey room and the other had a courtyard. So if you're looking for something a little larger than your average motel room, give it a try.

« Ridiculous Check in proceedure »

A big local business booked and paid for a room for me for last night and on check-in the hotel wanted completely separate payment for the room. For the booking via booking.com to work they wanted to see the actual person who booked it in reception, with their drivers license and their credit card. After 30 minutes of looking for contacts and trying to negotiate options i left to find another hotel. Mercure allow me to book and pay for a room on the phone while i was driving there and check-in to a really nice room took 2 minutes. Really poor and unnecessary service from Best Western so there are plenty of other good options.

« This place has got everything! »

Stayed here for a rail festival called Streamliners 2016 held at the Rail Heritage Centre; October 1 to 3 2016. I took my elderly, old workmate who is 87, the amenity of the motel really suited him. I was very impressed myself. I also had a younger workmate and his little Son. All four of us were very happy. The food was great and restaurant very busy. Rooms were well appointed and VERY clean. From the moment "Satu" took our booking several weeks before, I knew we were in good hands. Rhiannon at reception also looked after us very well. Vicky and Wayne, the owners, made themselves known to us and made sure we were 100% happy with the service and accommodation. A great motel with every convenience imaginable and GREAT STAFF and service!

    « Absolutely fantastic »

The staff were amazing, they stayed waiting when the flights were late. The restaurant staff are happy and lovely. The room I stayed in was clean and had one of the most comfortable beds I have had in any motel.

    « Everything you need »

Stayed here for a work trip for the week. The room was clean and fresh, beds comfy and small kitchenette. Huge size bath with nice after a long day of work. Tried out the pool was pleasantly surprised with the temperature perfect! The spa is ultra soothing very warm and there was no stinky odour. This is my third stay here this year and each time its proves to be a welcoming home away from home.

    « Excellent every time »

I always stay here when passing through Goulburn. I have never been disappointed. Rooms are very high standard, quality finishes, staff obliging and restaurant (Cascades) surprisingly good. Many a larger hotel could learn a lot from this small gem boutique hotel

    « Best Western Goulburn »

Great sized room with all the amenities I required for a short stay with a toddler. Only complaints were housekeeping/making of the bed and other guests coming back from dinner at a late hour talking outside your room and no consideration of other guests/children sleeping. Minor complaints, but I'd stay there again if I was to visit Goulburn.

    4
« great hotel to have a rest »

The Best Western is well located between Sydney and Canberra. It is value for money with clean room and friendly staff. Large bed and easy access to your car. The hotel restaurant has a good selection of interesting menu.

    « A nice surprise »

On our way back from a visit to Newcastle to visit family we decided to stop overnight in Goulburn. The visitor centre suggested a few places and we liked the sound of the Best Western, after a quick call to the motel by the friendly staff at the centre we made our way to the motel. We had a friendly and efficient check in and made our way to a very nice large room with a spacious en suite. Before leaving reception we booked in for dinner and were told that between 5and 6pm we could partake of happy hour drinks and complimentary canapés in the lounge in front of the fire. It was a chilly day so after a quick walk to stretch our legs it was a welcome start to a very pleasant evening with nice food in pleasant surroundings. This is a motel that we can certainly recommend.

    3
    « Comfortable and clean »

The bed was comfy, with an electric blanket. The bathroom was clean, heated towel rail and lovely toiletry products. The towels were big and soft. The smell of the room was a bit musty. Quiet and comfortable. The place was well utilised. Otherwise it was all good.

« Don't Expect Ice in Your Drink »

Ice tray in fridge empty and was dirty. I wanted to make some ice so took it to reception with the intention of getting a clean tray. I was told they don't put ice in the fridge as guests have no way of knowing what has been put in the ice trays (apparently it may not be water). This is a ridiculous statement, how do guests know what is in anything provided - what is in the orange juice provided at breakfast, are they going to make guests squeeze there own oranges???? Bring there own water for tea and coffee, really!! The guy at reception seemed annoyed that I had brought the dirty ice tray to his attention, looked at it and did not even acknowledge it was not at all fit to be used, then launched into the reasons why it was not filled in the first place. Grudgingly went to retrieve some ice cubes for me. I was given ice in an old, empty ice cream container which was not going to fit in the tiny freezer in the fridge in the room, so I guess you cant have ice in your in-room drink. I just wanted to make some ice but was not prepared to use the dirty ice tray. Will mention I have stayed at this property before and the experience was fine, but quite frankly, will not be staying there again. The room we booked was not a cheap room so I am not really impressed with the value provided. Bathroom was beautiful, rest of room ordinary, ice tray dirty.

    « A great experience »

From initial contact, to reception to the hotel room and to the Restaurant our experience was great, will stay again. In particular the room was excellent with a great bed and the motel is very quiet.

    « Exceeded our expectations »

The room was clean, warm, spacious and well equipped with everything you need from a desk to lounge to two fridges. Complimentary water bottles were a surprising bonus and greatly appreciated. Free wifi is included. The beds were king size and very comfortable. The restaurant food was excellent and all staff at the hotel were warm and friendly at all times. There is some ongoing work as the motel is extended but this did not affect our stay. Best Western Goulburn exceeded our expectations.

    « regrets, I had a few »

This motel is absolutely lovely. . .HOWEVER, they have a number of rooms I would describe as 'loft' rooms - where the bed is upstairs and the bathroom and amenities are downstairs. Makes for a quiet room in that you don't hear your neighbour using the bathroom at all hours of the night, but if you regularly need to get up to use the bathroom during the night, it's an absolute pain to have to make your way down and back up 14 quite steep stairs and remain half asleep. They had two bar fridges in my room - one which was a fridge full of items for purchase, with a badly placed, hard to read sign advising your credit card would be automatically charged if you removed an item from the fridge. There were two TV's - one upstairs and one downstairs, and of course, the one which had USB ports, was the one attached to the wall, making the USB ports absolutely useless for charging any devices. The air conditioning unit has been set so you can't put the temperature above 25 degrees C. There was no electric blanket on the bed. The alarm clock was a pain to try to reset the time on (I had to ask one of the staff as it wasn't obvious) and lit up the room like a christmas tree. They are also currently doing some building work there so don't expect it to be quiet during daylight hours, or to be able to sleep in. Also, no garbage bin upstairs. Bed was soft. Once I got out the 'spare' doona from the cupboard I was warm enough in bed. Oh, and there was a random sock left in the cupboard from a previous person's visit! Toilet roll holders were ugly in comparison to the rest of the furnishings of the place. Could have done with additional dusting behind TV upstairs, and the toilet roll holders were in need of a clean. Bathroom products smelt divine.

    « Highly Recommend »

Perfect in every detail. Service was excellent made us feel very comfortable after a bad experience at another motel down the road. Even though they only had a couple of rooms left we were offered a King size apartment room with living room ,and kitchen. The accommodation was very clean ,modern and comfortable.

    « Highly Recommend! »

Great experience from start to finish. Arrived Friday morning for a family funeral and was allowed early check in with no worries. Booked 4 bedroom apartment which was a house! Newly renovated, 3 King beds and a single, 2 bathrooms (a spa in one of the rooms), large lounge room, full kitchen & dining area, lovely courtyard with a BBQ. Thank you so much to Wayne, Vicki and their staff, very accommodating throughout our stay. A last minute booking of 15 for dinner was no worries, with a full "Asian fusion" buffet. Breakfast had a choice of continental or full buffet, also wonderful. Late check out allowed us to sit in the sun in the lobby with the family. A massive thanks again, highly recommend and will definitely be back!

« Home away from Home. »

I received a very generous up-grade on check-in to a 2brm - wish I had bought my family to share the experience and make the most of the facilities...it felt like home. The nice deep bath was a lovely treat at the end of my day - my fav! Very comfortable, clean and modern.

« An unexpected and great experience »

We decided to stay the night in Goulburn and by chance looked through the main street options and came across this great place. The motel was booked out but fortunately a cancellation meant that we had a two bedroom apartment with living room, kitchen, bathroom and two bedrooms (very new). There is some ongoing work going on but this did not affect our stay and it was very comfortable, quiet and we ate in the restaurant twice. The food was of a high standard and the service by all staff at the hotel warm and friendly.

    « A great place to stay »

We had booked into the Lilac Motel just down the road, but took one look and decided to cut our losses and book into the Best Western, who had availability. We ate in the restaurant which had an Asian theme buffet, was excellent value!

    « Warm and Comfortable »

Arriving after a long drive for our overnight stay, we were delighted at a quick check-in by the friendly staff. It was a cold night, and to our delight, the room heaters were already on and it was warm and cosy. The room was immaculate and clean, with a large bathroom. Importantly the bed was comfortable allowing a restful night sleep. Great place to stay.

    « Fantastic stay »

Great room, friendly staff, comfortable bed (most important). I also enjoyed your bistro very much. The buffet dinner was fantastic. First time I had wallaby meat! (much better than kangaroo) The goose was great too, as all the other food.

    « Great stay »

We stayed here overnight on our way to the Gold Coast. It is slightly pricey but what a great place. The room was beautiful and immaculate. We had the buffet dinner and it was brilliant. The next morning we had the buffet breakfast and it was as good. Definitely a place to remember.

« Always clean, great food! »

The Best Western Goulburn is always my first choice if I stay in Goulburn. The rooms are always clean, family apartments are huge and the restaurant has the best breakfast buffet I have come across. Very healthy and great range. Great way to start the day!

    « Great motel »

Stayed for 2 nights as a little get away instead of the usual "Bowral or Mittagong". This motel is probably the best place to stay in Goulburn as it is very comfy, good location, quiet and great staff. Meals are also great. We met Vicky the manager and found her very nice and helpful. Highly recommend this place..

    « Good quality hotel »

On a recent trip up to Sydney from Melbourne I chose to stop at Goulburn for the night at this hotel. On arrival the staff were attentive and friendly and assisted me with a painless check-in. The stay had been booked based on reviews from Trip advisor and I was pleased with the accuracy. I was able to park my van outside my room easily. The room was clean and very comfortable. It had a well-appointed bathroom with both bath and shower. The bed was super comfortable and I had a fantastic sleep. There was a desk with network point for those on business and 2 tub chairs with a small table to eat at. TV on wall. The wall unit housed drawers containing 2 sets of plates, mugs and cutlery. A kettle was also included and tea and coffee makings. There was also a microwave (which I loved as I had brought homemade soup for dinner and porridge to cook for breakfast) and a bar fridge as well as an extra one for anything I had brought that needed refrigerating. I did have my own bowl which was handy as none were supplied. Next time, I would definitely stay again and would eat at the restaurant. Heating was good too and free internet!

    « Surpassed all expectations »

From the phone calls to double check where we were prior to our late arrival, to the friendly and welcoming staff; from the huge three bedroom apartment, to the breakfast and morning newspaper. Best Western Goulburn exceeded the already high expectations we had based on their trip advisor standing. We were stopping over as a mid-way break on the Melbourne to Port Macquarie drive with two kids under 5 and it really was a good decision. The rooms were clean, warm and spacious and there was secure parking (cameras) - which meant not unloading the car and bike racks etc in the middle of the night. Breakfast was plentiful with plenty of options including a number of healthy choices. Highly recommended for those looking for somewhere decent in Goulburn. Unfortunately we've had to cancel our return stay as our car was rear ended and we are now flying back. But we will definitely be back next trip.

    « Comfortable spacious rooms »

We spent only one night at this hotel, which was located in a good position with easy access to and from the Hume Highway. We weren't looking for 5 star luxury, just a comfortable quiet night and this hotel delivered. Check-in was smooth and efficient. The room was clean and spacious, with comfy beds and a good layout. The bathroom was spacious and functional, with our pet requirement - a separate shower. Overall I'd definitely stay here again.

« Best motel in Goulburn »

I was given an upgrade to an apartment with a loft bedroom. Large rooms. Very modern decor. Warm. Small kitchen with microwave and cutlery. Beautiful king size bed with amazing pillows. The only let down was no Foxtel and the free wifi speed was terribly slow. Almost unusable in busy times. Definitely the pick of accommodation in Goulburn.

    3
    « Clean and tidy »

Stayed overnight to attend an event in Goulburn. I had a two level room. If you have bad knees try and get a room that is on one level. Everything was clean, the sheets were spotless and crisp. I didn't use any of the facilities, nor did I sample their menu. A bonus was that they had very good wifi that was free!

« The best western in town »

I was booked into this hotel though my work and boy was I surprised, the rooms are very spacious with a great comfy king bed and equally as nice bath room. The room is well equipped with everything you need from a desk to lounge to several kitchen utensils. The rooms are well set out with a good flow to all furnishings. Would highly recommend this to everyone to stay as its well price and well worth every cent.

My partner and I stayed here for 2 nights over the long weekend and we had a lovely time. The room was clean and sized really well. The bed was comfortable, the shower was great and there were facilities to make toast and a cup of tea or coffee. We didn't have any problems during our stay, check in and check out were a breeze. We would stay here again and recommend it to our friends and family.

    « South Coast Adventure »

Well my wife and i went to collect an antique mini car from Cowra from the Central Coast Wyong and decided to to stay at this place on the return. It was a very big drive and when we arrived at 8.30 pm the desk lady welcomed us and assisted us to park our car and trailer. We got un packed and went to the restaurant and had the best meal ever, It was better than good and i'm picky. We headed back to our 2 floor accomodation, I had a great shower and crashed out in the most comfortable bed and woke up at 8.30 am. I am certainly coming back her again. The town has the big sheep to look at but much much more.Everyone is so friendy, Traffic also is courteous. Anyway the staff at our accom were so good, The food the best i have had for a long time, value for money 10 stars. To overseas travellers it is 3 hrs from Hornsby so be ready for long drives across our big country, so much different to Europe. But it's great to count the sheep and see Kangaroos jumping around. This morning we had temps at 6C so a little chilly with fog but this added charm to this magestic city.

« Never accept the house »

We are an older group of three professional ladies travelling together to visit a local friend. We do this often and usually stay at the Mercure (ex-Trappers) with no problems. As our friend has moved to the northern end of town we decided to change accommodation. After reading all the reviews on Trip Advisor about the level of luxury at Best Western, I decided to book here. I initially requested a four bedroom apartment so we would have a room each. This was confirmed online. I then received a phone call to say this apartment was not available and it should never have been confirmed. I was then offered a two bedroom apartment, which would have been OK, but someone would have had to share. I received another phone call a couple of weeks later to say the four bedroom apartment was available so I thought all was going along swimmingly...until we arrived to check-in mid-afternoon. Reception stated they were going to put us in the house. I had no idea what this meant, but it sounded OK. It was not OK. The house had not been cleaned, so we had to wait about 30 minutes. We were offered complimentary coffee. This house was not in the motel complex and was nothing like what was advertised on the website. We had to drive around the block to find it. We also had to drive back to the motel the next morning for breakfast because it was freezing - frost and ice on my car. Far too cold to walk. We all live in inner Sydney in apartments with covered parking, so we are not used to this. The house was awful. There are no other words to describe it. It was an unrenovated 1970's type house - dirty walls, filthy carpet and extremely cold and uncomfortable. They was nowhere nice to sit, so we used the upstairs landing where there was an air conditioner, as our lounge room. The next morning we could not wait to leave. I have a serious illness called scleroderma. I cannot afford to get cold. It was too cold for me to even have a shower as I would have had a Raynauds attack. For $230 I would have expected a much higher level of comfort and not be compromised by my illness (which I usually keep very private). My friends wanted leave after our arrival, which made me embarrassed as I had arranged this accommodation. They hated it. To add insult to injury, when we were at breakfast and we ordered eggs, my friend's eggs did not turn up . As we really wanted to get on the road, we waited half an hour before she asked about the order. Apparently the order had not gone through. The staff were polite and respectful but, frankly, to expect people to stay in that house is an insult!

    « Cozy and Comfortable »

I stayed for a total of two weeks during june. I had an apartment unit on both occasions. This has a king bed, 4 singles, toilet, shower, bath, kitchen sink, microwave, toaster, kettle, sandwhich press and dishwasher (note no stove). My stay was comfortable and staff accomodating. A couple of dislikes: The shower drain is a very large metal mesh tile that digs into your feet, bring thongs. The single beds are on a second floor, and excited children love going up and down them, not so good at 11pm at night. On a number of occasions i had to go next door and ask if they could stop as the thumping carries through the rooms. Although there is an enclosed pool, it is not heated. There are also limited parking spaces. Motel has a restaurant, refer to restaurant review. Would stay again.

« A bit of luxury on the Hume »

I was pleasantly surprised at the level of luxury offered by Best Western Goulburn. Our 2 bedroom 2 level apartment was very well appointed with comfy beds, a really lovely little kitchen and a modern bathroom with Mor toiletries! Each bedroom has its own wall mounted TV, along with a TV in the living area, so there were no arguments over who can watch what (a big plus when traveling with children). Close enough to town to be convenient, yet far enough away from the main "drag" to be quiet and peaceful. It has an indoor pool but it was extremely cold. The spa was nice and warm, but my children lamented the lack of bubbles. I will certainly stay here again if I ever have reason to return to Goulburn. Highly recommended!

    « A great stopover »

We had a king room near the back which I specifically requested (no 2nd floor above) and it was great for an overnight in a motel room. Road noise was minimal. The room was comfortable and spacious with a small kitchenette and a very large bathroom. The bar fridge was fitted inside a cupboard, a feature I really like because the noise of the fridge during the night is deadened. I also liked the fact that all the mini bar nonsense was in a second small fridge! So I didn't have to empty it all out to fit my things in. There was no electric blanket - it is very cold at this time of the year - but there are two ways to heat the room. They even provided a free continental breakfast. Hard to beat for the price. My extra wish - that luggage racks are provided for two bags (2 people = 2 bags). Why one one?

    « Pleasant overnight stay »

We chose to stay at the Best Western Goulburn, on a recent visit to Goulburn. We had the bed and breakfast package featuring a loft style suite which incorporates downstairs section containing table and two chairs, computer desk and chair, and a Kitchenette with mini bar, microwave oven and sink under the stairs. The bathroom features a spa bath with shower above. The toilet had a self closing lid which is a rare feature in most country motels. Climb upstairs to the bedroom which features bed, sofa, and wardrobe. There is a TV upstairs and downstairs. We were happy with the presentation and cleanliness of the suite, except for a small amount of mould around the spa bath and a noisy air conditioner motor in the bedroom area. Parking is available outside each suite's door. It was a nice touch to get the complimentary bottled water and biscuits and fresh milk in the fridge - much appreciated. The breakfast in the dining room was better than average for a country motel, but on the occasion we were there for breakfast, our table was not cleared after each breakfast course and we had to dispose of used plates to another area to make room on our table for the next course. The breakfast staff could be more vigilant in clearing guests' breakfast tables. But the breakfast itself was more than adequate and we were very happy with the food. The only negative was that we found the yogurt containers (glass jars) awkward to eat out of and there was only a small amount of yogurt in each jar.

Everything we could want staying in a King family room. Excellent restaurant, friendly and efficient service, and a heated pool which the kids loved. We will definitely return for another family weekend in the future.

    « Nicely set-up, great meal »

Our room was OK, but perhaps a little disappointing. Imagine a typical small motel room of yesteryear which has been well-refurbished and modernised, and you've got a good mental picture. (There are 2 and 3 bedroom suites which would be more roomy at this motel, but we didn't have one of those.) The best thing here was the restaurant. It was a very pleasant surprise with an up-market menu and the quality of food as served didn't disappoint. The premises are at the edge of town so you can't just stroll out the door and find lots of other eating places. If the restaurant was horrible, that location would prove a problem but, as you've read, it was a pleasant surprise to dine here.

    « Book a room with a Courtyard »

Had a relaxing time staying at this place for 3 nights ? lots of extra things about the room made it more comfortable (too many to itemize all). Have stayed at this motel before but this time we had a queen bed suite with a small courtyard and it was superb. Very spacious with nice décor, fabulous lighting options throughout including a dimmer switch, huge wall mounted TV, two queen beds, table&chairs, couch and desk plus a fully equipped kitchenette; full size fridge, microwave, oven & hotplates plus a dishwasher. Impressed with the modern fully titled bathroom ? very spacious with separate toilet and shower, large mirror with perfect lighting for makeup and the best ever deep oval bath positioned below the fixed glass window looking into the lounge area (could watch TV whilst soaking in the tub). The little courtyard at the rear was a great feature too as you could sit here and have a cuppa (or smoke) out of the wind in privacy and it made a nice view to have from inside the room. Positioned towards the rear of the property our suite was very quiet and relaxing. Location from the main shops was perfect and only a short walk, the staff were very friendly and the optional breakfast in the dining room very good. Small indoor pool and spa on the property and the hotel offers complimentary gym use at a facility close by. Highly recommend this hotel and ideal for a long stay.

    « Last minute booking »

Booked on the net as coming into Goulburn. Very friendly welcome although confusion with our booking as we had paid for breakfast but booking info did not reflect this . Staff sorted. This out. Our room was king bed and unfortunately the suite was two stories with bed upstairs and bathroom downstairs which is inconvenient. Apart from that room was clean comfortable with great facilities. Spa bath with shower over .bed comfortable with choice of pillows. The breakfast was extensive and generous. We will continue to stay here when travelling through Goulburn but book a room on one level.

A lovely, clean, comfortable room with beautiful, white linen and well presented, delicious food in the restaurant. Very easy to find on the main road into Goulburn and lovely, helpful, friendly staff. AND they had hot chocolate in the mini bar!

    « Good accommodation. »

We booked a two bedroom self contained apartment here whilst staying for the week end. It was clean and tidy, had ample cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery and dish washing liquid etc. The bed was comfortable and the unit was quiet and was very spacious.

« Average for the price »

Middle of the range motel, clean modern bathroom, comfortable bed, good location on the way into town from the Sydney end , nothing exceptional. Not a lot of parking when towing a trailer, parked out front on the road.

    « Couldn't of been happier!! »

Booked online at about 11pm just after a place to sleep after travelling for 3 hours on our way to Canberra. $160 for a very spacious, modern and extremely clean suite with 2x queen beds. Kitchenette was great, even had a dishwasher. Complimentary water bottles were a bonus. Huge bathroom with shower and bath. Free wifi with great connection. Small private courtyard. Was VERY impressed with this place!! Special mention to the housekeepers, rooms were absolutely spotless. Could not of been happier.

    « Best Seafood Buffet »

Amazing seafood buffet at the restaurant 'cascades'. A great selection of cold and hot seafood options. Plenty to choose from, oysters, crab, prawns, mussels, pipes, fish, calamari. The cheese platters and dessert bar were just as good! Delicious quality food! Wonderful service :) yum!

« Nicely presented, friendly staff »

We didn't make the booking online but just turned up.. But of a mistake, don't do that! So what I thought was $140 per night became $180 per night including hot brekky, room was great (what we paid for) lovely bathroom with marble throughout.. Spa bath with MOR snow gardenia toiletries supplied.. Complimentary bottles of water and bikkies.. 2 tvs, one downstairs, one upstairs, and took DVDs which is always good, free wifi, silent effective air conditioner, lovely, new furnishings.. Also had a indoor general use spa and pool.. Walking distance from shops.. Brekky was great and catered to dairy free and gluten free well. Highly recommend

    « Very Good Hotel »

Hotel was very good clean very nice decor. The resteraunt was excellent and had a very nice meal. The hotel offers breakfast from 5.30am which is great for those with an early start. I was in Goulburn on business and would stay at the hotel again.

« Good value for money »

Room was clean, neat and very spacious. Set up was a little strange as the bedroom was upstairs in a loft with the kitchenette, lounge and bathroom downstairs. Stairs were pretty steep (a little scary in the middle of the night when I needed the toilet). Wouldn't recommend that style room for anyone older or unsteady on their feet. Facilities were great! Lovely clean bathroom Kitchenette was great - well equipped and modern Loved that you could park right outside our apartment, so convenient. Great location in general - 15 minute walk into the main part of town where there's plenty of restaurants/pubs/shops

    « Return visit »

Our previous visit was excellent in all respects, this visit not so good. We are pleased to see the premises being renovated with the street appeal being improved. This visit we had a lower unit in a 2 storey block with noisy upstairs tenants, corridors & pipe work. We were looking forward to dining at the restaurant because of our past experience there and the managers assurance it was even better. We perused the menu in the unit and decided to dine elsewhere while the food may be very good the prices are more for trendy inner city Melbourne or Sydney.

    « Short stay »

Hotel was clean, comfortable and convenient. Building works next door were not noisy but did detract from the aesthetics marginally. A broken air-conditioner had a replacement available but was a bit too noisy for night-time use when needed. Did not use any of the facilities. Otherwise a nice hotel.

« All good but noisy, inefficient air conditioner spoilt stay. »

There is a lot of construction & renovation happening on this site so we understand that there are going to be some inconveniences, however the air conditioning in our room was not working, so a temporary portable unit was installed. This was noisy & totally inefficient making the room quite humid & stuffy. What surprised us is that we were charged the full rate, where a discount would have been appropriate in these circumstances. Everything else was great, bed very comfortable, pillows fantastic, quality linen & products. Staff were friendly.

    « home base for Summernats 2016 »

This being our 2nd year we have stayed here as we enjoyed it the first time. Rooms had everything we could ask for and the room was always clean. Fantastic service from all staff. When a tv would not work the staff had it fixed straight away no waiting. With a onsite restaurant with a well planed menu for all meals with great service staff and chef. Can not wait for our next stay here and would recommend anyone who is looking for somewhere to stay in Goulbourn.

    3
    « Comfortable »

Newly renovated, the hotel was clean and comfortable. We had a loft style room which was like a small townhouse. The bathroom, kitchenette and lounge downstairs and the bed upstairs. The slight downside was that you could hear the neighbour's air conditioning and the water pipes at all hours. The restaurant was great - reviewed separately.

    « Coming Home »

We travel from Paynesville to NSW quite regularly and find Goulburn to be an ideal stop over, after a long drive. The Goulburn Best Western is very comfortable, clean, modern and it is our preferred place to stay on these long trips.

« excellent service and quality »

I have been coming to this hotel for three years. The rooms are amazing everything you require. I am a sales Manager so it is important I am fully rested. The breakfast is amazing and they are able to do a special room and breakfast rate. Babbington's the on site restaurant is beautiful. They have a chef who has been here for years and is always changing the menu as to food that is in season. I would recommend anyone coming to Goulburn to stay here. :)

Stayed one night in a twin double bed room on our way home from Port Macquarie to Melbourne. Room was modern, clean and well equipped. Kids loved the pool after a 7hr drive. Beds and pillows are very comfortable... Enjoyed a short walk into town and dinner at Workers Club!!

« Fabulous service and fantastic apartment »

The staff were very friendly and helpful. We were made to feel very welcome. We had a two story apartment which the kids absolutely loved. The apartment was very clean and luxurious. The restaurant was good and there was a heated pool. Reception also gave us additional towels when they heard our children wanted to go swimming.

« Very memorable stay for me, my wife and her Guide Dog "Mia" »

Very pleasant and helpful reception staff. Restaurant staff were co-operative and friendly and the food was of high quality both for dinner and breakfast. Reception staff also took the time to re-check our bill and effect a refund of an overpayment I made due to my last minute changes to original requirements.

    « Wonderful! »

After 2 long days of driving from Brisbane to Melbourne, we stopped in Goulburn and had a wonderful experience here! Room service meals were better than some 4 star resturants, staff were very friendly, bed were like sleeping in clouds, large bath was fantastic and all the facilities were wonderful! Certainly one of the best hotel stays I have ever had!! :)

    « Rooms are Wonderful »

Best rooms microwave, sink really good television.I love the bathroom design. Beds are really comfy with a really good selection of pillows. Staff are friendly and arranged for me to be changed to a single level room to accomadate my ankle injury. It should have been a 5 only the refried bean nachos i ordered from room service, was overcooked and had no refried beans, i located 3 whole beans no mashed beans just salsa with huge pieces of onion. Couldn't taste the chèese as it had been cooked for too long.and the serve of sour cream was to small. Take the meal out of the stay and it would have been an easy 5.

« Newly built Motel rooms with a boutique feel. »

We were placed in a newly built section of the Motel that replicated town houses. The modern amenities were both functional and boutique. The modern kitchen area had a stove, oven, dishwasher, full size fridge and cooking utensils for those planning a longer stay and wanted to cook their own meals. The room was immaculately clean and was spacious and so was the gorgeous bathroom. The shower pressure was fantastic and the beds and pillow were comfortable, making for a great sleep on long day trips. The split air conditioner was fantastic. Free WiFi and Free Foxtel (limited channels). The staff were friendly and informative. There was a restaurant attached to the motel but didn't dine there as went to the Soldiers Club for a meal and to watch a sporting event on a sporting channel that was not included in the room Foxtel channels. Easy access to the Highway. Insufficient parking spaces. This may be due to tradesmen sharing rooms but having more than one vehicle. However the motel was clearing some land next door to construct some more parking. The pool was small and crowded with children. Location of pool in the centre of the car park made it dangerous for young children to cross the car park to the room. Needed to drive to Town Centre as a little too far to walk. They do require a security deposit on arrival. Would recommend and definitely staying here next time we travel north.

    « IMMACULATE! »

It is rare these days to find a motel that ticks all the boxes but this one does. We had a King Loft Spa Suite. Downstairs has a work station for laptop, huge TV, 2 chairs, kitchenette and bathroom with magnificent spa bath and 2 hand basins. Upstairs a very comfortable king bed with another TV and split system aircon. Everything was spotless and well appointed. We ate at the inhouse restaurant and found all staff to be friendly and attentive. All food was nicely presented and served with a good selection of meals from which to choose (and I am a fussy eater). We had a swim in the pool but found the water was rather cold for us. Checkin and checkout were both pleasant and we had a good chat with Vicki on leaving. Highly recommend and we will stay again when travelling that way.

« Comfortable, friendly staff but small scary details »

All was nice: I was in a comfortable room with a big bed, clean toilet... But I had a disgusting surprise. I found a spider on my bed and I felt so scared because the most dangerous spiders are in Australia!! I decided to kill it with my shoe and then I went to reception to advert about that, asking for another room to stay that night and they said me that they hadn't more free rooms, so they gave me an insecticide spray to solve it!!! I couldn't belive that it was true!! But I'm still alive! Hehe As far as I'm concerned all was nice there and I recommend this hotel in spite of the aforementioned scene.

    « Theives »

Paid for the room at check in and was informed about a $100 security. The security wasn't mentioned at booking but wasn't too bothered as they assured me it would be deposited on checkout. Three days later still waiting for my $100 deposit. Funny how you can stay in places all over the world with no problem but manage to get ripped off in your own back yard. Have rang them twice and they just blame the bank. Don't stay here. Third world rip off, first world disgrace!

    « OVERALL-AMAZING , HIGHLY RECOMMEND »

This hotel is amazing. We were only there overnight but they accommodated us very nicely. We arrived after the reception had closed and to our convenience they had a "late checkin" do it yourself screen. Stayed in two bedroom apartment. Beds were very comfortable and so were the pillows. Shower pressure was amazing. We needed the wifi password and that was only available at reception. We sent them an email and within 5 minutes we had the wifi password. Very quiet and in good location. Highly recommended

    « $100 deposit »

I booked one night stay for 4 adults and 2 kids cost $265 in December 2015 through bookings.com apparently no deposit and free cancellation I used a debit card with no money in it to book the room just in case they got greedy and wanted to help them selves early well they rang me two days prior to us checking in saying my card had been declined oh really, so they wanted another credit card so they could get hold of my money nice and early so I gave it to them, when we arrived they demanded another $100 and my drivers licence (welcome to Goulburn) under the guise of some sort of security pretty sure they already had my credit card details if I was to drink one of their over priced bar fridge items. just a bad experience with this greedy place and instead of the management replying with their standard answers about the $100 deposit rubbish maybe they could actually listen to what the customer wants and get rid of it. None of the other 5 places we stayed at made us pay $100 for nothing.

    « Spacious and clean »

Stayed here for one night over Xmas period visiting family. Booking in was so friendly and efficient. The room was spacious and clean with everything you need especially for a short stay. The bed is heavenly and the room so big. Again a lovely well appointed bathroom with shower and separate bath. Including great toiletries. There is a bit of expansion going on which did not affect the stay. Great place. Checkout also a breeze. Would recommend. Free wifi a definite bonus.

    « 3 bedroom apartment »

Staying in a 3 bedroom apartment for the holidays with the family. It is good that they have apartments available for families. But the apartment is a 5 minute walk from reception. The driveway right up to the door is full of pebbles which makes it hard to walk on especially if you wear heels. The layout of the bathroom is badly done though. Have to twist around on the toilet just to reach the toilet paper. But the bedrooms are nice and comfortable. But would be nice if they had bins in rooms. The kitchen is nice enough and suits our needs as a family.

« Beautifully renovated, comfortable and clean place to stay »

I wasn't expecting much from a Best Western, and the place was in the middle of renovations when I arrived, but the ground floor unit I stayed in had been renovated and was very nicely kitted out, especially for a small country town Best Western! I'd be happy to go back any time. Convenient location, after hours check-in capability (including "just turn up" style automated check in). Despite being on main road, design means that the units are very quiet - lovely bed too!

    4
« Great Value for Money »

We booked a suite on the first floor. It was well appointed, and the beds were comfortable. Considering the tariff I felt the room to be of very good value. We noticed an odour when we first entered the room. We traced it to the shower drain. I spoke to reception, and they dealt with my complaint in a swift manner. The smell would probably not pervaded the room as it did originally if there was better ventilation in the shower suite. Also, given the size of the entire suite, the toilet cubicle could have been a little more spacious. Even being fit and capable as I am, I felt uncomfortable with virtually no room to move once the door to the toilet was closed. I must say that the design flaws, although they did detract from the experience of our stay, they did not detract from that experience by much. Over all, the suite was very nice and very good value for money.

« Good value and quality. »

A very handy motel to the center of Goulburn. The King unit we had overnight was obtained at a very good price and was found to be spacious and spotlessly clean. An upstairs spacious bedroom over a small lounge/kitchenette area with a work desk and TV and large bathroom downstairs. Access to the upstairs bedroom may be a little issue for the elderly or infirm or if one was to perhaps overindulge a little in alcoholic beverages. The stairs are quite steep and with the bathroom being downstairs a bit of care has to be taken to negotiate at night without lighting up the whole unit and waking all occupants. Maybe a little more thought with that design but certainly no deal breaker at all. I'm sure there are other easy access room options for those who need them as it is a fairly large complex. The bed was extremely comfortable and the air conditioning was quiet and efficient. when combined with the cleanliness, price and access to town via a quick 5-10 minute level walk, Best Western Goulburn ticks most boxes for either an overnighter or extended stay. The motel was easy to deal with for bookings and the gentleman on the desk was both efficient and friendly. We didn't eat at the motel so I'm unable to comment on that aspect. There is a glassed in pool available which looked inviting as well. Parking was fine for even the most challenged of parking lot negotiators. Happy to recommend and certainly happy to revisit. Well done.

    « Very good stopover »

I stayed here after visiting the Blue Mountains. Was very happy with the room, with the exception of the internet connection (that seemed to be the constant during my trip). I did not go to the restaurant. For the rest, there are more than enough positive other reviews of this hotel so that I do not have to detail again, trust the other reviews :) I would definitely choose this hotel again if back in the area.

We have stayed at the BW Goulburn previously and were impressed by the facilities so we decided to stay again. Although there were extensive restorations occurring, they were unobtrusive. « Surpassed expectations! »

We stayed at the Best Western Goulburn recently to attend a family wedding. The reception was held there, so we decided to stay there as well. The premises are undergoing renovations at the moment to upgrade the ageing facilities. What a pleasant surprise then to open the door to a very large and obviously recently refurbished room. It is so nice to have plenty of space to stretch out and not feel closed in. Everything worked well and the comfort level was very high. I would thoroughly recommend this Motel. Don`t be put off by the renovations. It is a small price to pay for excellent quality of the rooms.

« A wonderful night in an utterly wonderful motel »

We arrived at the Best Western Goulburn on Tuesday 8th September 2015. It was cold and raining at the time, but when we arrived inside our motel room, we forgot all about the weather outside. It was really lovely, clean, luxurious and spacious inside, and we were able to park our car outside the door. We ate at the motel's restaurant, and enjoyed a good and delicious meal. Our bed was comfortable, and we enjoyed a very good sleep. The staff were very friendly (Goulburn is a very friendly town!!) and we'd have to say that our accommodation was far and away above average. Juliana and Shawn, Port Macquarie, N.S.W.

Very impressed with this business. The rooms are ultra modern and prestige. Huge bed, stone bench tops, extravagant bathroom and professional and knowledgeable staff. No expense has been spared in the room fit out. 5 stars.

« As good as any 4.5 star hotel in Sydney »

This was our 4th stay at this establishment on our return trip from Sydney. We like the location as it allows us to spend the day in Sydney then head to Goulburn late in the afternoon for the trip back to Ballarat the next day. I have always found the reception staff pleasant even when under pressure when busy and this was no exception. This hotel is currently undergoing renovation of some of the remaining rooms however those that have been renovated have been done to a high standard. Our room of choice includes 2 queen beds, well equipped kitchenette (full sized fridge) and very accommodating bathroom. The beds are very comfortable and linen is of a good quality. We have never heard any outside noise therefore the sleep quality is excellent. We didn't try the restaurant at night however noted it appeared well patronised. We did have the cooked breakfast which was enjoyable. The only negative, and it's only a small one is the price is at the higher end for motel accommodation ($195/night). Having said that, it's still cheaper then most lesser quality HOTELS in Sydney. We will certainly return on our next trip back from Sydney.

Tried booking this place on line but alas booked out. Phoned direct & they still had rooms, pretty common for these establishments to do this & their perogative. Upon arrival reception was very busy, the normal credit card details & was billed an extra $100.00 for incidentals ?? wasnt going to argue. Entering our room noted the lack of furniture but aa bloody big computer desk, @ lounge chairs & 2 fridges 1 contained alchoholic drinks worth a great deal of money & the other as exokained in jthe compendium for the house guests. Seperate bathroom with spa. Something missing ?? no bed it was upstairs with the rest of the lounge setting, something missing ?? the only loo was downstairs, right handy for a pee during the night !! Overall was very disappointed with the layout & furnishing, the price was over the top too. Upon checking out the next morning requested the $100.00 be credited back to my account & given some cock & bull story that basically said no-one asks for that, asked how does 1 get it then ?? Will it be automatically credited ?? advised only if you ask for it to be. Too confusing for me, but eventually it was credited.

« Wonderful room but unfriendly staff »

I was lucky enough to stay in one of the 2 floor refurbished rooms for a night. It was very clean and comfortable. The desk for work was great and being able to sleep upstairs seemed to help me sleep better. The bathroom door was a tight squeeze with the long bench in bathroom. The front desk staff weren't friendly at all but the room was a highlight for me.

    « Happy to recommend »

If you're looking for a place to stay on the way to Wombeyan Caves coming from Sydney, look no further. Best Western Goulburn offers presentable rooms with all you need. Bath tubs a hit with the kids with fountain styled bath heads, giving parents a much deserved break. While the pool is oddly placed in the middle of the car park, it offers a chance to have a dip and enjoy the hot tub. We would have preferred a "bubble switch" for the hot tub and in turn creating a spa, but again, happy that we could enjoy the hot water to relax and unwind. We booked one night that became two.

    « NICE & TIDY »

A great place to stay in Goulburn, staff are very very friendly, and make you feel as if you are welcome. the restaurant was excellent, serving a filet steak that was grilled to perfection. At the end of the day, the spa was relaxing.

« Disappointing room but breakfast great! »

The hotel has two ages of room and sadly we were in the old rooms which definitely need an upgrade. It was a family room (queen and single bed) and the bathroom was very cosy. We had to complain about the queen mattress but the staff took a look and swapped it for a new one which allowed for a much better second nights sleep. Some members of our group were in the new wing and there was no comparison - spacious room, fab bathroom and more luxurious by far. The staff were very friendly and the buffet breakfast was great. Very convenient for the centre of town and Goulburn's attractions.
